the Mariners.

Speaker 4 (01:46):
Just gotta knock in another the other one seven to

Let's go a big show on this Magic City Monday.
Let me welcome in my co host, he is.

Speaker 1 (02:39):
Kelvin Kelvin Washington. What up man, Happy Magic City Monday.
Good weekend for everybody except those who resided in the
state of Michigan. Hello, it was a rough one. I
felt like the Phillies, Rob, I felt like Philadelphia.

Speaker 8 (03:00):
And.

Speaker 3 (03:02):
I tried to warn your Tigers.

Speaker 1 (03:04):
I told you, well, this is my World Series pick
Dodgers Mariners. This is what I have. So I was
very very proud of myself to pick against him. It
pains me to do it. But that's not what you wanted,
you know what. The Tigers of course want it, but
they can't lose a fifteen and a half lead division
and be like, you know what we're gonna do, get
it right in the postseason.

Speaker 3 (03:23):
So yeah, everybody thinks you can just click it on.
Oh yeah you can. You can have a bad week
week and a half.

Speaker 1 (03:29):
They had a bad second, then Michigan which again tough
game against USC and then Alliance that what'd you say?
I seeing that? Whatever, don't do that rough rough weekend.
But still we hear, we hear baby, let's do it
all right? Yeah, yeah, I'm good. Okay, you know what

(03:50):
I'm saying.

Speaker 4 (03:51):
Even if you put your chair up, I'm still taller
than you.

Speaker 1 (03:54):
You literally are.

Speaker 4 (03:55):
Taller than me exactly. And I'm wearing like chocolate brown today.
This might be my favorite Fox Sports about. I had
a brown phase in college.

Speaker 1 (04:04):
It was it was kind of ridiculous, Like all I
wore was brown hoodies and brown timblin boots and brown brown.
It was brown leathers Averex jackets. Your kids on nothing
about aavers jackets.

Speaker 4 (04:14):
No, no, no, we used to give those out those in
the Pelly pel Jae.

Speaker 1 (04:17):
Oh we don't get the national Yeah, okay, I didn't
know that was just Detroit. I felt like it was.
He was walking in. Dude, I'm Midwest.

Speaker 3 (04:26):
Yeah, I'll never forget.

Speaker 4 (04:27):
We gave one to a Vander Holyfield for being on
our show Sports Rap, and that dude like free.

Speaker 3 (04:33):
He was like, oh my, this is beautiful.

Speaker 4 (04:35):
Like he just like he like you, like, this guy's
a multi millionaire, given away something for free. He got
this free leather jacket that fit him. He was like,
oh my god.

Speaker 1 (04:45):
I know what You've been doing this long enough? You
you you know you're a what a twenty five millionaire
and it doesn't matter about free. There you go not
only just free, but something that maybe you couldn't afford.
But like even though he's a millionaire, Van maybe he
couldn't afford. He was younger. So when you when you
get there and you're like, man, I remember this was
so cool. I couldn't get it when I was a kid.

(05:06):
He was still it still matters. He lost it, all right,
Let's welcome into the odd couple. Coo, you wouldn't be
able to do this fine radio program without him.

Speaker 4 (05:13):
Rob g is our producer, Steve the Sagres at the
anchor desk. He'll keep us updated throughout the program. Wow,
Elijah is our social media guu. Yes, even when Alex
isn't here, he's got deal with these.

Speaker 1 (05:30):
I don't even know where he is. I don't even
know where you are right now.

Speaker 3 (05:32):
And of course on the on the ones and twos,
all right.

Speaker 4 (05:41):
And for over forty years, tire rack has been helping
customers find the right tires for how, what and where
they drive. Ship fast and free backed by free railad
has a protection with convenient installation options like mobile tire
installation when they come to you. Pretty awesome tyroraq dot
com the way tire buying should be not surprised that

(06:03):
the Lions lost in Kansas City on Sunday night, but
you have some other Uh your take is on the Chiefs,
mine is on the Lions.

Speaker 3 (06:13):
What do you got?

Speaker 1 (06:14):
Yeah? No, I just think I mean that's obviously if
you're the Lion is just a tough loss. You don't
want to lose that game, especially when you had that
opening drive. You're feeling good about yourself, had a nice
cute little trick play. They called back somehow, the Chiefs
always get those kind of calls. But that's neither here
nor there. There you go, typical lions home, Like everybody
had been saying that about the Chiefs for the last

(06:34):
two three years. No, but it was it was less
about them to me and about the Chiefs and specifically
what I've kind of been saying for half full of
weeks ever since they beat the Ravens when I said, man,
their offense is about to get going. We had been
complaining about the Chiefs offense for the last two seasons, justifiably.
So they have been historic lows for Patrick Mahomes, for

(06:55):
the team. Somehow, they obviously got to the Super Bowl
a couple of times, one to one, and then lost
last year, so we kind of outweighed how they had performed.
But I started to see, man, when they start getting
pieces back, when guys, they've also picked up a couple
of nice pieces, and Patrick Mahomes is starting to look
like Patrick Mahomes to the tune rob that he is
doing things that we haven't seen him do in quite

(07:17):
some time. I'm talking about numbers that he really hasn't
even done since twenty eighteen. You look at some of
these right now, Patrick Mahomes is averaging two hundred eighty
two passing yards over the last three weeks, seventy percent completions,
thirty two yards per rushing per game, ten total touchdowns,
one interception they're averaging. And then he has the best
mark of since twenty eighteen when it comes to their

(07:38):
almost averaging three points per drive. So that's to me
the takeaway, how scary the Chiefs are about to be.
And we're gonna look up and you me, Rob Ge,
Elijah and the whole crew being worried Santa Clara or
whoever up in the bay, and it's gonna be the
Chiefs representing the AFC in the Super Bowl again, and
they've somehow will have pulled it off again when none

(07:58):
of us saw it coming. When we thought there would
be a down year, We thought that Josh Allen m
VP would be able to do, when we thought Lamar
Jackson will be able to come back and bounce back,
not the case. And the Chiefs to me are scary
and they're a week away from Rashid Rice, which is
only gonna make their off three and three absolute. I
have no worries about the Chiefs. So three and three,

(08:20):
that's the walk away from me. I said, oh gosh,
they're back. I thought they would be. I said it
a few weeks ago, and each.

Speaker 4 (08:26):
Week so much so that you picked the Ravens, right,
You picked the Ravens if you thought that, if you.

Speaker 3 (08:31):
Thought no, but if you thought they were going to
be back this year.

Speaker 1 (08:34):
I picked the Ravens in the offseason.

Speaker 4 (08:35):
No, I know, But if you thought they were going
to be back this year, why wouldn't you have picked the.

Speaker 1 (08:38):
Chiefs, Miss Mary Mack. If you look at our notes
in there, I literally wrote Chiefs. You will see it.
I'm asking you you'll see it. Be my complien because
the Ravens, it's they're they're justifiably going into the season.
We thought they'd be there. But here we are again
and it's the same greatest hits and in the.

Speaker 4 (08:57):
Super Bowl again they're three and three. That not going
to the Super Bow the Chiefs. This is what I
found out, that another team's not going to the Super Bowl.
I didn't look at it from the Chiefs. I looked
at it that the Lions once again have shown them
that they're fraudulent because the two teams that they needed
to beat, or the good teams, are the two teams
that they lost, Green Bay and Kansas City, and Kansas

(09:18):
City had a chance to make them two and four,
which would have been good. They've been scuffling as far
as winning games. So this was a game that the
Lions absolutely had a chance at winning in Kansas City
because everybody else seems to be beating them, and they
had a chance to be two and.

Speaker 3 (09:33):
Four in this early season. And who have they beaten?

Speaker 4 (09:36):
The Bears, they hung fifty points on them, the Bengals,
who aren't good, and the Ravens. Now that win against
the Ravens isn't as good because they can't beat anybody.
So that if you take that one away, so really,
who have they beaten this year to make you feel
look good about the Lions? And that's what I took
away from this. This was a game to me where
the Chiefs are uneven. They didn't have that they weren't

(10:00):
favored by seven and a half points. Because this was
a game that the Lions couldn't get and the Lions
couldn't win it. And those were the two games that
I looked at and I said, not to win both of.

Speaker 3 (10:10):
Them, split it.

Speaker 4 (10:12):
This was a game I would have felt a lot
that I would have been like, Okay, maybe the Lions
do have some mojo, really have something going. But when
it came down to it, they have the wins against
mostly the teams that aren't good, and the wins the
two games against the teams that I consider really good,
they they're owing two. So I looked at that and

(10:33):
I thought to myself, Okay, as we go forward, we'll
see where the Lions are.

Speaker 1 (10:38):
But wait, waitakay, not even mad at some of your points, No,
I'm just but how then is it fraudulent versus well less?
Wait and see because one of the things that we
talked about last season that I like about the Lions
last year, and it seems to be this case. Obviously,
you lost is a loss, but is that day whoever
is in front of them when they win, they beat

(10:58):
them usually bad. And the point differential difference last year,
point differential this.

Speaker 3 (11:02):
Year, meaning they beat the Ravens by a meaning they
go in.

Speaker 1 (11:06):
And they beat who they're supposed to be and they
they don't typically play down to come. If it's the Bengals,
they beat them. If it's so and so, they beat them.
And that's what I like about.

Speaker 3 (11:13):
You felt good about last night's game.

Speaker 1 (11:15):
About the Lions, I'm saying no, I thought they what
I did. I'm gonna tell you what I didn't like
was I felt like they were rattled for a bit
when they caught a great fourth down, they didn't get
in the enzo, They got an anzo, and then they
called it back. I felt like a rat like kind
of took them out of it a little bit. I
didn't like that the Lions had seven points in the
second half. I don't and I don't like that. The

(11:36):
Chiefs defense is good, but it's not that the Lions.
You shouldn't feel like it's that good that you can't
put up points. So I think the Chiefs got a
couple of few third down conversions that kept them on
the field, that kept the Lions offense off. But I
didn't walk away from that feeling like I thought the Lions.
I think the Lions lost to the potential AMC champions
representative and the Super.

Speaker 3 (11:56):
Bowl got that. Now they might be you be right,
but they're not that now.

Speaker 4 (12:02):
And at two and three coming in, they weren't that
they were they were on their heels in a must
win game.

Speaker 3 (12:09):
I think I told you Friday that they had to
win when.

Speaker 4 (12:13):
They couldn't have gone to and four, and that was
but that was one for the Lions to really bury
the Chiefs, which they could have, which they could have
to me seven points in the second half.

Speaker 3 (12:25):
Wow.

Speaker 1 (12:25):
The concern now for the Lions, you gotta play the Bucks.
We're gonna talk about later on. But Vikings commanders the
next three games. But Baker Mayfield, Now I don't say
good because you never want anybody hurt. But the thing
that would be in your favor if you're the Lions,
is the receivers are hurt, all of them banged up
a little bit for the Bucks. So that'd been your
favorite because the Lions dbs are banged up. Now, Branch,

(12:48):
they just suspended Branch themselves. What in the world I
thought the League did?

Speaker 4 (12:52):
Maybe I saw it wrong. I thought the Lions did. Gee,
what was it the league or was it the Lions?
Because I saw the league he's he is suspended.

Speaker 3 (13:01):
From that league. That's what I thought.

Speaker 1 (13:02):
They're one of their better players on the defensive side
of the ball should already.

Speaker 4 (13:06):
I'm not mad, and me and Dan Campbell don't agree
on a lot, but I agree with the way that
he took him the task he caught right away to
call him out because there's no place for that.

Speaker 1 (13:17):
I'm sorry, you can't do that like that, meaning if
it's in the confines of the game, stuff happens. We
see scuffles right after the game up. Yeah, and I
understand he did do a dirty play in the back.
You have to and he the ranch said it, I
gotta handle that in the confines of the game, in
between the lines, because then you just looked at it.

(13:39):
We don't Joe Public doesn't know that right the league,
we're not. They just see that. We don't know. Well,
a few players go, he did this.

Speaker 3 (13:44):
You can't swing on somebody's walking up to you for that.

Speaker 1 (13:47):
So man looked bad no matter what, because no, it
doesn't that that didn't come with an explanation, like it
wasn't on the back of your face. Hey, I'm about
to punch because of this and this and this. All
we see is the slap or the punch, So look
bad and that's a big blow for a secondary the
lines that they could not afford to lose. And I'm
very disappointed in him for doing that, putting your team
in the buying as already struggling health wise on the

(14:08):
back end. So now even more burden is gonna be
on that offensive line, all right?

Speaker 4 (14:12):
Eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox eight seven seven
nine nine six sixty three sixty nine the last night's game.
Say more about the Chiefs or the Lions? Or the
Chiefs super Bowl bound again? Or are the Lions just fraudulent?
I think they're fraudulent. We'll CONTI you that conversation with
you next. It is the Odd Cup. Nobody's fraudulent to you.

(14:33):

Speaker 1 (15:36):
It is the Okoba Rock Parker COVID Washington on the
Magic City Monday Als. You're gonna get a run in
for the Falcons as they are now up seven nothing
in this Monday night game against the Bills. There was
an immediate fumble from John Robinson, but thankfully for them,
was offside by the Bills who had recovered it. But
thankfully for them, they were able to get the ball back,
go down and score. We'll keep you updated on that's

(15:56):
still seven to three Mariners up on the Blue Jays
in the top of the seventh and more updates coming
up here in the moment with Steve the Seger and
just a bit for over forty years. Actually, let me

taking phone calls, Chiefs. I say they're back in our
Super Bowl contenders. You say the lines are fraud eight

(16:40):
seven seven ninety nine on Fox. What say you? Who?

Speaker 4 (16:42):
We got John in Boston. You're on the odd Couple
of Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 3 (16:45):
What's up John, Rob Kelvin?

Speaker 10 (16:48):
Happy Monday?

Speaker 3 (16:49):
How are you fellas great? How are you Bud?

Speaker 10 (16:52):
We're hanging in there. We're hanging in there. The Chiefs,
you just can't get rid of them. You know, they're
like a bad pair of underwear, of bad pennies. They
just will not go away, right, I mean, you just
keep trying to kill them and you can't put them
to sleep. Rob, I agree with you the Lions. After
watching that game last night. Here are my issues with
the Lions. First of all, first series, you go down,
you're dominating, and all of a sudden, you decide to

(17:14):
run a trick play like you have the best offensive
line in football, two outstanding backs, a sensational tight end,
all sorts of receivers.

Speaker 4 (17:21):
Trying to be cut John, You're trying to be cute
when you don't have to be cute exactly.

Speaker 10 (17:28):
Do that when you're up seventeen or twenty or twenty four,
and everybody can laugh at you. But at that point,
I'm like, that is where they kind of lost the
game because they could have really kept that crowd out
of it by scoring a thoughts down there. Instead, they
decided to be cute. Like you said, Rob, absolutely one
hundred percent true. And the other thing is they are
not built to come from behind. And Jared Doffs are
really good quarterbacks. He's not among the top guys in

(17:50):
the league because he can't come from behind. When they're
ahead and play action is in play there nearly unstoppable.
But when they're down points, play action is out the window,
and now he becomes a drop back passer. He's good,
not great. He's not one of the elite guys, especially
when he's behind. That last year of the playoffs, we
sure did well off against Washington, right they got down

(18:12):
and that was the end of that.

Speaker 4 (18:15):
Thanks John, appreciate you job. How about Harold in Chicago?
You're in the odd couple of Fox Sports. Where is
this Harold?

Speaker 3 (18:21):
I know in Chicago? What's up?

Speaker 1 (18:23):
Buddy? Was Harold's checking in Chicago? What's up?

Speaker 10 (18:29):
Lions aren't a ten team.

Speaker 7 (18:31):
They're just front runners. They're only good on their up.
They like to put up that lead.

Speaker 8 (18:35):
And just run up the store down to the games leave,
and they don't.

Speaker 7 (18:38):
Know what to do.

Speaker 10 (18:39):
They don't run playoffs south football. It's a Kansas city
and knows how to keep the lead. They play boring
football when they're up.

Speaker 7 (18:45):
That's how you went. It's it's just that Lion style
of play doesn't work against the good teams when they're
down or it's close.

Speaker 10 (18:53):
That's all that's all that is.

Speaker 4 (18:55):
Okay, appreciate, appreciate, thank you. How about Antonio in Miami.
You're on the couple of Fox Sports Radio. What's up, Antonio?

Speaker 7 (19:03):
What's up? Guys? I think last night said a little
more about the Chiefs. If you go back, I'm pretty
sure less than five teams starting two and four. Uh,
you know, are getting in the playoffs. Detroit basically when
they defeated last year, and they need to get back
to that moment. From I guess San Francisco. I don't

(19:26):
know if they ever will. It's almost like Detroit can
do whatever they want. But I will say next it's
Sunday or Monday when they play Tampa Bay. That will
say more about Detroit. I think moving forward, what's another game?

Speaker 4 (19:39):
If they lose that game, they're four and three, and
then all of a sudden, it doesn't look as good.

Speaker 3 (19:43):
I got to schedule the next few games. This is unbelievable.
What matters are doing. It's nine to three and they lost.

Speaker 1 (19:50):
Some of those are the Tigers.

Speaker 4 (19:51):
My gosh, Josh Naylor just went deep with a two
run bomb. This is all in Toronto. This is in Toronto.
Thanks for the call. I appreciate you. Let's go, Man,
it's still a couple of Yeah, Will in Wisconsin, you're
on the on couple of Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 1 (20:08):
What's up, Will, what's going on?

Speaker 11 (20:10):
What's going on? Calvin? Oh, nothing much, Man, justin joined
this heading into this half part of the season. Then, Calvin,
to your point, I think we did see the Lions
play their absolute worst earlier in those early division losses.
But certainly those losses and then you know a couple
of those out of conference things that get you out
of competition real quick when you're talking about winning the division.

(20:32):
And so right now, they're not separating themselves as like
one of the better two or three teams that's gonna
appear in the super Bowl, let alone win one. And
so it's still gonna be a wait and see a game.
But I really don't think that this is going to
rob to your point about the Chiefs. No, it's Patrick
Mahomes as Andy Reid, it's Kelsey, it's them getting guys
that have to go forth and have to be, you know,
compete out there in that West. But I don't think

(20:53):
they're back to any form. I mean right now, what
the Chargers are heading that division so until the Chiefs,
you know, separate themselves from the Chargers or even the Broncos.

Speaker 1 (21:03):
Right, yeah, charges the Broncos. You don't feel safe with them,
you know that? All right?

Speaker 3 (21:07):
Appreciate that, will thank you. Let's squeeze one more in uh,
Drew in New Jersey. You're on the couple of Fox
Sports reading what's up?

Speaker 1 (21:15):
Drew?

Speaker 12 (21:16):
And I don't think that the Lions are on the
same caliber as Philly and Tampa. I think Tampa and
what they're doing right now with basically all their players
banged out, and Baker Mayfield's clearly that the truck drive
are not the trailer anymore. I think that the Chiefs
are not back offensially. I think that's drastically overrating what

(21:37):
he's done. However, I think that they could still make
the Super Bowl only because they see's so weak right now. However,
if I could pick one team to beat him, I
would pick the Colts. I'm not saying the Cults are
going to win the Super Bowl. I think that the
Colts will upset the Chiefs and then lose to the
Bills or at least anybody else like fall flat on
their heads in the next game. But I think that

(21:58):
they're going to overlook the Colts. Dans will play one
good playoff game and then he'll go back there, go.

Speaker 8 (22:03):
Back to it.

Speaker 4 (22:03):
Yeah, we saw him play that playoff game against Minnesota.
Remember that got him that contract.

Speaker 1 (22:08):
They got him playing out of his mind right now.
The Colts are a real team that we none of
us are gonna give him credit. Get I'm out, But
being so, I said, nobody's gonna give you know, it's
kind of like, wait and see when they win, and
I'll go say, I wish everybody the Chiefs are. They're
not playing around and they don't give a dang what
we're talking about. All right, on the way conversation about job,

(22:28):
your guy, I'm going I'm going ham on you. By
the way. We'll do that because you need to make
sure you clarify some things when you talk about that.
Well you said go in just a moment it is now,
Steve the second gonna get you set on what trendy.

Speaker 2 (22:40):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Odd Couple
with Rob Parker and Kelvin Washington weekdays at seven pm Eastern,
four pm Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 1 (22:52):
Steve thank you think it was a retirement or he
just said, uh you either you do it or will
do it, whichever one you want. He like you never
hear a force. Yeah, yeah, you know, things is just
right now. I want to spend more time with my family.
And okay, all right.

Speaker 3 (23:05):
Your family, aren't you seventy something years all?

Speaker 1 (23:07):
Your family not just right now as my grandkids and
what Yeah, yeah, it's the oka of Robert Kevin on
the Magic City Monday Achs and Pains. They can sneak
up on you during the holiday hustle and bustle. Leave
can help you forget the pain and make memories instead.
With just one pill, a lead provides up to twelve
hours of body relief so that you can keep it moving.
Use as directed. Who you mad at? Who would you

(23:28):
try to warn?

Speaker 4 (23:29):
No? I tried to warn you about Justin Fields. You're
the biggest Justin Field's apologist going. And I tried to
tell you, dude, this is his third team in three years. Okay,
he could have gone back to Pittsburgh, but he had
to actually but he had to actually compete for his job,
and he didn't want to compete. How's a twenty five

(23:50):
year old guy not wanting to compete against Aaron Rodgers
or whoever else they brought along like that bothers me.
That bothers me. Why when you want to compete if
you're that dude? And then last yesterday in London, people
should have asked for their money back. Forty five yards
passing sack nine times, get rid of the damn ball

(24:14):
and negative ten net yards negative ten for the Jets yesterday.

Speaker 3 (24:22):
Dude, Aaron Glenn, is this on.

Speaker 4 (24:25):
Stop protecting this dude, save your team and your job.
Tyrod Taylor's right there. Put them in. Get some stability.
Who do they play? They play like a week team
this week? Right did they play?

Speaker 3 (24:38):
They play? They play a week opponent. They better get
a win. What are you doing?

Speaker 4 (24:45):
Stop making excuse me if you don't beat them? They
just the Panthers and Bengals. Put Tyrod Taylor, get some stability.
Win back some of your players. Did you see when
they didn't go for Aaron Glen didn't go forward at
the at the end.

Speaker 1 (25:02):
Of the half. That was bad because your team is
fighting to win, just scrapping and crawling to win games.
Because to finally win a game with you know, Bill
some morale Okay, we gotta win. And not to mention
your defense was doing all right in the sense that
the the Broncos had to they should have blown you out,
but they didn't. And for you to not go for points,
for you to be playing conservatively was awful.

Speaker 3 (25:24):
Here's my thing with on Justin Fields. Seriously, where are you?

Speaker 1 (25:27):
Oh listen? My thing with Justin Fields was last year
that four and two, ten touchdowns, one interception, I was saying,
and five the Steelers, and I still stand by that.
Let's just see what we got, Like you know what
Russell Wilson, Russell Wilson exactly last year, what he was
the beginning of this year, Like, I just wanted to
see what he was with the Steelers. That's all. My
point was. If you're the Steelers, let's just keep rolling

(25:49):
this thing. We're four and two. He's not hurting us.
He's you know, he's not He's not Dan Marino in us.
But let's just see what that was. That's all Justin Fields.
I'm not acting like he's the return of Joe Montana
or Patrick Mahon something. My thing was, I know what
Russell Wilson is, same thing I said with Joe Flacco
is not that these I know what they are. They're
capable guys, they're pros, pros, they both won Super Bowls.

(26:10):
I just want to find my guy. Can I find
my Drake may my bow knicks, my filling the up?

Speaker 4 (26:15):
Maybe, but maybe people realize. And that's why the Steelers
were ready to move off of him, because at four
and two you could have said, oh no, but when
you did a deep dive in the stats or whatnot,
they were way down in the passing stats.

Speaker 3 (26:30):
You're not gonna light.

Speaker 1 (26:31):
It up with You're not gonna light up the offense.
You have to go what eight years ago, seven years ago,
John Harball and the whole Ravens and adopt what this
guy is like. You'd have to say, this is exactly
what he is, this is what we're gonna do, not
this is what the league is, this is how you
normally do it. I'm offensive court. You have to say,
this is his strengths, these are his strengths, and we're

(26:52):
going to set him up for that. And you can't go,
we're gonna drop back thirty five forty times with justin fields.
You've lost the minute. That was your game plan. And
to your point, I've been. We've talked about it before
a couple of times. Pre him getting stabbed in the chess,
Tyrod Taylor was gonna have a chance to be a
He sucks now when I say this, a gino Smith
Baker just like Sandal like get some you know, all

(27:14):
of a sudden, I'm starting and I end up having
a solid second half of my career. Tyrod Taylor was
on that trajectory. But then my man punctured his lung
and and he hasn't been the same since. But my
point is, Tyron Taylor was capable of getting you a
couple of two three wins here.

Speaker 4 (27:26):
You need to mor team to win some games you cannot.

Speaker 3 (27:30):
For as bad as the Jets have been.

Speaker 4 (27:32):
Okay, the last time they won a super Bowl, Moby
Dick was indeed a guppy bout it right, and they
won in nineteen sixty nine the Super Bowl at my point,
super Bowl three.

Speaker 3 (27:44):
But my point is you just can't.

Speaker 4 (27:47):
This is their worst start like that for a new
coach to be Owen six and the type of games
and losses like it's really really bad and at some
point you need to stabilize your lock.

Speaker 11 (28:00):
Man.

Speaker 3 (28:00):
Guys are going what.

Speaker 1 (28:01):
That's what you get reports that that guys are starting
to be like, hey man, he ain't it. And here's
what's the challenge for them? Is that what they Yeah,
that was. I'll pull it up for you just a bit.
But the challenge, that's.

Speaker 4 (28:13):
What's gonna happen when the guy's not producing and they
see the numbers, they could like a guy, right, he's cool.

Speaker 3 (28:20):
Hey, life is there's more stuff important in.

Speaker 4 (28:22):
Life that I don't At the end of the day,
we're blessed and all that. That sounds good. What's this
a football game? We need you for the sixty minutes.
That's what we need after you and your your private
life and your family.

Speaker 3 (28:35):
That's all. We all have families. We all want to
live a nice life. We all want to be blessed.
Can you throw the ball down field? Can you make
a completion?

Speaker 1 (28:44):
Yeah? Here's here's uh. Some just players believe tyright. Taylor
not feels is the team's strongest option the quarterback, and
according to Connor Hughes of S and Y, the feeling
its existence training camp and fields is ongoing. Struggles have
done nothing to spell the sentiment there are true in
the NFL. Among them, you can't fool players. They they're
trusting their coach, putting the best position, best player out
there to win. And some of them are questioning if

(29:06):
that's happening. Ever, within the locker room of toe s
and y varying points of the similar things like that. Yeah,
and that's what Connor Hughes put that out. You know this,
players know who should be playing like like you. That's
how coach can lose when you start playing.

Speaker 4 (29:21):
You remember, I bring it up all the time because
it was big when Urban Meyer went down to Jacksonville
and tried to squeeze Tim Tebow on the team as
a as.

Speaker 3 (29:31):
A what was the tight end?

Speaker 4 (29:33):
Players were like, what, wait a minute, this guy who's
never played tight end, he's like thirty some years old.

Speaker 3 (29:39):
You mean it to me?

Speaker 4 (29:40):
Ain't some young buck twenty two just out of college.
You played at Alabama or Georgia or whatever.

Speaker 3 (29:45):
We can't play? What what are you doing now?

Speaker 1 (29:48):
You can't? You can full player players will see or
you're doing that because whether the general manager or coach,
this is my coach, so I have to play. You know,
we gotta let this coach coach or this is my quarterback.
If I'm the coach and I gotta do this, gotta
play him because we draft him, I brought him in
with me. They know why you're doing it, and it
isn't for a player. It's not a meritocracy. It's not
because he's better than them. He earned a position. You're

(30:10):
doing it because it makes me look better. I've made
this pick or the selection. They know when that's going on.
Just listen, Justin Fields. I'm gonna be honest with you.
What I am not liking is the lack of fire
from him. And I'm not saying you gotta t me
with the rye rye all the time, but it just
feels like he's like I'm not saying he's not going
home and crying and wanting to play, but he's just

(30:30):
kind of like, oh, I mean, you know, I'm just
at the end of the day, you haven't won enough
to the end of the day. And me, I told
you when we had this conversation about Josh Shallen, I'm
in Buffalo questions Josh All he is blood Swains Here's
he is that team. So if he had something, he
didn't say it the way you would prefer. They understand it.
In Buffalo, Justin Fields, you have ever earned that equity
or that rapport with the New York Jets fans to
just be like, I mean, you know, it is what

(30:52):
it is like, you know, Lamar.

Speaker 3 (30:54):
Jackson playing a kid's game for a lot of money.

Speaker 1 (30:58):
What you can't You can't do that, and you're going
out there and at some point, again, if you're Aaron Glenn,
you're trying to stick by. And then he backtracked a
little bit and said he's been playing well the last
few weeks, but not this week. He backtracked, you got
to do something for the Moraley here because because you
know what they're looking at you to see where you're
gonna go. How serious are you about winning? And looking
at what justin fields coming off of that game, Tyrod

(31:20):
Taylor is a much better and nobody's saying, listen, throw
him in for these next couple of games that are winning,
get winn get the morale going, Sean, we we're seeing, Hey,
you see how he's running this, see how he's running that,
and see what you want to do from there. But
Tyrod Taylor is definitely more than capable. All right playing
today shekel City on the way. Plus we got to
get you set up for the game that's happening right

(31:40):
now in MLB. And also you got the other one
coming up with the Dodgers and the Brewers will do that.
It is the Okaba, Rod Parker, Kevin Washington on a
Magic City Monday, Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (31:50):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Odd Couple
with Rob Parker and Kelvin Washington weekdays at seven pm
Eastern four pm Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the
iHeartRadio WIP.

Speaker 1 (32:01):
Fox Sports Radio Shoo Boys, The I Couple, Rock Parker
Kevin Washington on the Magic City Monday. Still got a
lot lined up for you got a good tied up
game right now Monday Night Football Falcons have the ball
trying to go down and get some more points into
seven to seven times the first quarter to four minutes left.

Speaker 3 (32:18):
Keep you updated on the baseball scores as well, you
mean the football baseball score.

Speaker 1 (32:22):
You ain't lining them. We've had some reversals. There were
a couple of NFL games and I'm like, what in
the MLB is going on here? And then there's currently
right now, shoot, MLB acting like this is definitely NFL.
All right, It's time for play at the day.

Speaker 8 (32:36):
Baker Mayfield of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are going to
improve to five and one, five and one, the best
record of the National Football League and the leaders in
the NFC South by far.

Speaker 1 (32:50):
The kneel down by Baker.

Speaker 8 (32:51):
Mayfield, the Tampa Bay Buccaneer fans have something to share about.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers thirty San Francisco forty nine ers nineteen
and we stopped that four game losing skive to the
forty nine ers.

Speaker 3 (33:06):
Bucks Radio there on your tire Reck Rade of the day.
So he's on the team and he does the radio.
Did you hear him say we I'm just saying until
he played in the game and then came up.

Speaker 1 (33:16):
Un listen, he got up there quick, cal You know
they got new technology, right. He probably got to the
bench and just did it from there, you know, Bucks
Radio Tyrereck play today. For over forty years, Tirereck has
been helping customers find the right tires for how, what
and where they drive shit fast and free back by
free Road has a protection with convenient insulation shoptions like
mobile tire installation. Tiereck dot Comedy is the way tire

(33:37):
biyns should pee. It is time now for Shekel City
the Ies today. How you do all right?

Speaker 3 (33:44):
Two and one on Friday. That brings my total up
to thirty nine and thirty five.

Speaker 1 (33:49):
Feeling good.

Speaker 4 (33:49):
There you go, and here we go tonight, Brewers best
bet plus one and a half hosting the Los Angeles Dodgers,
a team that they dominated during the regular see I
think they won all six games and the brew Crew,
so I've got that. Also, I have the Buffalo Bills
minus four in that game in Atlanta where we are tied. Yep,

(34:11):
so far they all posted on social media earlier today.
And I have the Chicago Bears. I'm taking a five
and a half in the rain in DC, Bears taking
on the Commanders two young quarterbacks in that matchup there.
So again Bears plus five and a half, Buffalo Bills
minus four, and the Brewers plus one and a half.

Speaker 3 (34:33):
I did not have, did not pick the Seattle Toronto game,
but my.

Speaker 4 (34:38):
Goodness, gracious, the Gambles would pick that, probably Toronto because
in Toronto, you know what I mean, can't lose twice
like you put yourself. The Blue Jays now have to
win four of the last five. So anyway, remember Kelvin,
I'm not telling you who to bet on. I'm telling
you who I bet on.

Speaker 1 (34:56):
Yeah, all right, let's get now too. Oh well that
is second City. Let's get to this. We saw NLCS
preview that we got coming up here in a little
bit would be probably don't know, ten twenty minutes away
from that one. There. You brought it up. Man, the
Brewers six and zero against the Dodgers and really just
kind of this owned them, like simply owned them if
you were able to, you know, watch some of those games.

(35:16):
I ended up thinking I did a pre and post
for a couple of those games, and they just flat
out dominated.

Speaker 3 (35:21):
And they did it in a very workman's like way,
you know, a hard hat.

Speaker 1 (35:25):
There's not a bunch of guys hitting thirty forty home runs,
and they don't have the biggest named players like that,
but they just kind of go to work. And that
was troubling for the Dodgers who had times couldn't find
ways to score runs. But and that's a big butt.
I'm talking, sir, mix a lot. I like big butts.
Big the Dodgers staff man, these starters. Now, man, you
tell me, I'm gonna ask you a question. Somebody put

(35:47):
this out here and it could be a prisoner of
the moment, prison of the moment. Already, No, already, It's
the greatest rotation that's ever been put together. People are
saying around this time of year with yeah, I'm a Moto,
Blake Snaill, show Hey and Tyler Glass. Now no, no,
I mean I get I apiel to you like you know,

(36:08):
you know, I know a little bit, but you are
the historian. There was, there was the There were the
Baltimore Orioles in the seventies. They had three twenty game
winners on their staff. That would be okay, I'd be
hard pressed, right. I think it was Jim Palmer, uh,

(36:28):
Mike Quaar and who is the other one?

Speaker 3 (36:30):
Am I missing?

Speaker 4 (36:32):
But they all they all won twenty games in the seventies.
They were an unbelievable staff. I'll give you another one.
It didn't work out for them. But how could you
tell me who is the other one?

Speaker 1 (36:47):
Who are you thinking?

Speaker 8 (36:48):
God?

Speaker 9 (36:49):
What?

Speaker 3 (36:50):
Just give me the first initial of his first name?
Who the third guy?

Speaker 2 (36:55):
I have?

Speaker 1 (36:55):
Mike? I have Dave McNally, Oh, Dave Mcnalyad Dobson, Mike Quail.
You said, Mike, that's who they had. Plature of the
other included Mike Flanagan, Scott McGregor, Steve Stoneble. They're great,
you know that era.

Speaker 3 (37:10):
But I'll give you one the Tigers.

Speaker 4 (37:12):
The Tigers had three reigning empty SI Award winners.

Speaker 3 (37:17):
Now they got swept by the Orioles.

Speaker 4 (37:18):
That rotation Justin Berlander, Max Scherzer and uh Price.

Speaker 3 (37:26):
Yep, they had David, they had all three jo they
had all three reigning, they had one three years in
a row.

Speaker 4 (37:34):
So I people say, I'm not mad at that at all.
That's incredible. Those are those are two that I would
just right off the top of my head.

Speaker 1 (37:41):
So, but then that wouldn't put them at least in
the You can have a conversation about that. You know
that that we got those two because I get the
Tigers were saying, would the Braves say have something to
say to right? Those nineties Braves early too. You know
they got three Hall of Fame pitcht on that staff.
Right now, maybe they weren't as dominant, no, but we know,
but we.

Speaker 3 (37:59):
Know that they failed. Right, they only won one championship.

Speaker 4 (38:01):
But if you're talking about staffs, right, yeah, how could
you not look at that those three guys.

Speaker 1 (38:07):
That's why I brought up to the braves. I'm like,
they could be up there. But but so that's what
folks are saint and brewers are going to be up against.
Is that staff that has it together now, that was
struggling early throughout the season. Out of all the injuries guys,
role glass I was out. Tany wasn't really obviously pitching big,
big innings at that point in time. So we'll have
to wait and see that one coming up here in

(38:28):
a little bit. So it was adopt right, Yeah, it
was unbelievable looking forward to this game. Somebody got fired.
Was it justified? We'll tell you
