Speaker 2 (01:48):
And also you know the.

Speaker 4 (01:52):
Baseball twenty one to seven Atlanta at the half and
it looks like the uh Commanders did they score?

Speaker 2 (02:02):
Was he inbounds? It looked like it good throw and
good catcher hit him in the face mask and did
he hold on to it in bounds?

Speaker 4 (02:11):
And yeah, yeah, funny hit him right in the face
mask and he was able to hold on to it.
All right, Uh, let's do this, Rob g. We just
talked about Aaron Rodgers who threw for two thirty five
two touchdowns and the win over the Browns, a really
good defensive team. We know about them Browns and whatnot.

Speaker 5 (02:33):
Uh.

Speaker 4 (02:33):
And that was the NFC North Division game. And you know,
there's always something when you play in the division. But
for a lot of people, all the Dodgers up three nothing,
Oh my goodness, do you see that? Oh wow, but
wait a minute, did that bounce after it came out
of his glove? Yes, no, it's a triple player double play.

(02:57):
He caught the ball.

Speaker 2 (02:59):
Wait wait, what are they say?

Speaker 4 (03:00):
No, they think the Dodgers think it bounced. He hits
a double play. He caught the ball, watched this.

Speaker 2 (03:07):
Wait, what is the rule? It did bounce? No, he
caught it. Back in his own head, I'm saying I
thought it was legal. I didn't know. Is that not legal? No? No,
that's he hit the wall. No, that's that's a hit.
It hit the wall. It hit his hand. No, no, the wall.
That's a that's a hit. Once it hits the wall,
it's in play.

Speaker 1 (03:26):
Even if he catches it again, I mean, and you bobbled,
it hits the wall and I catch it.

Speaker 4 (03:32):
Oh are they saying it was a force at the
plate If they called it the foot? If that was
what you called, then he's out. If it's a force
at the plate, Oh, it's weird.

Speaker 1 (03:41):
I'm not gonna lie. I think I don't know about
the base runner. The explanations.

Speaker 2 (03:45):
Hey, Steve, just saga, try to decipher that.

Speaker 4 (03:48):
Yeah, when you when you find out, because I'm not
sure if the bases were loaded and that was a
force player at the plate and they got him before
he slid home.

Speaker 2 (03:56):
That's what I'm because obviously the ball.

Speaker 1 (03:58):
Hit the wall, he hit his hand, he almost caught it,
but it bounces off the wall.

Speaker 2 (04:02):
So that's just live.

Speaker 4 (04:03):
Now, it's live. It's a it's a it's a play,
you know, like the ball is, well, it's not a catch.
It's not a catch, no, because it hit the wall
and his glove wall and then he caught it.

Speaker 2 (04:12):
I thought he caught it clean. No, no, no, I saw
that in real time. He hit the wall. I didn't
see that.

Speaker 4 (04:16):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (04:16):
Yeah, that's why I was like.

Speaker 1 (04:18):
So once he catches, that's not an actual catcher, then
the run could have I'm gonna just stop.

Speaker 4 (04:23):
Yeah, Steve, but look at playing it at home like
a force play. You see, he's not trying. He's not
trying to tag the runner. That's what I'm trying to
say to you, is like, like he's forced out. He's out.
If it's a force play, he's out at the plate.
There's no doubt about it. In my mind, the catcher
never tried to tag him. See where the other runners
are see everybody's running back except for the runner. No, no, no, oh,

(04:47):
that's a force out. That's an unbelievable play. That's unbelievable.

Speaker 2 (04:51):
Seeven am I right? Is that what it sounds like
to you?

Speaker 4 (04:54):
Or looks like it's a force at the plate because
everybody had to hold up.

Speaker 2 (05:00):
Right, and because it wasn't a catch, so then you
were you had to get home.

Speaker 4 (05:04):
And that's why it's a force play. It's it's yeah.

Speaker 1 (05:08):
So that's that makes sense. Then that makes a lot
more sense. And what are the Dodgers screaming about? They
were screaming as if something was off.

Speaker 4 (05:15):
No, well yeah, yeah, they can scream all they want.
That's a force play. And then the looks and then
and then the cat and then the catcher ran the
third base before the runner got there. So it's a
double play. Oh my god.

Speaker 2 (05:33):
Oh that's a great that's unbelievable.

Speaker 4 (05:35):
Yeah, how he cares nothing wrong, it's nothing wrong with
the fielders have to hold up because you think that
the ball's caught.

Speaker 2 (05:42):
It's that's really hard to figure it out.

Speaker 1 (05:46):
Yeah, I mean looks like if he had it in
it right in his glove and they make robb g
are they making it.

Speaker 2 (05:52):
They're making a cost. Steve's gonna have it for Yeah,
it's a double play, am I right? A boat? Those
guys are out. That was huge. That was huge.

Speaker 4 (06:10):
Now my only thing is, Okay, he's out. I don't
even doubt that. Right, he's out. So then the catcher
runs to third base.

Speaker 2 (06:18):
Why would he throw it there? Just curious because.

Speaker 4 (06:22):
Because the other runners at second base, so he would
he just throw it to him? Yeah, No, he's forced out.
It's a double play. All right, double play?

Speaker 2 (06:29):
There you have it? Here we go.

Speaker 3 (06:30):
All right.

Speaker 4 (06:31):
I know, I know we're early in the season, it's
only five games in or whatever, and a lot of
people are talking about Baker Mayfield and what he's doing.

Speaker 2 (06:37):
And I get it.

Speaker 4 (06:38):
Baker's having a really great year so far with Tampa Bay.
But I'm gonna throw my hat in the ring for
Aaron Rodgers, a guy who you didn't believe was worth
waiting for for the Steelers. You say that, yes, correct,
because they didn't think right, he didn't think that like
he was old, he was too old or old Aaron
Rodgers or I just couldn't figure out why the stealers this,

(07:00):
this is why they were waiting for him, and I
think he has a better narrative and Rob g We've
seen this before when he won MVP over Tom Brady
who had better stats.

Speaker 2 (07:09):
Remember that year and it was Aaron.

Speaker 4 (07:12):
Rodgers had really good stats and they beat some really
good teams. The Steelers have won only one home game
so far. They got two road wins and one international win.
That's huge to start, no I know, but you know
what I mean. Three game, three wins away from home.
Lost that game to Seattle at home. He has ton touchdowns,

(07:33):
three interceptions so far, playing way better than anybody could
have imagined. Right now, last game, no sacks, which if
they can protect him, keep them up right and and
him not get hurt, I'm gonna throw my hat in
the ring, and I say he has a chance. Here's
the reason I think he has a chance. The division,

(07:58):
which which nobody thought that they could win. Baltimore the Bengals, right,
and then maybe people look at the Steelers as a
third team. Now they have a legit chance to win
the division and getting off to this good start.

Speaker 2 (08:15):
Who do they have on Monday?

Speaker 4 (08:17):
On Thursday night, they have the Bengals, so they could
be five and one.

Speaker 2 (08:23):
Day I'm sure, they'll be fake probably a touchdown.

Speaker 4 (08:26):
They have a chance to be five and one. I
don't think that people who thought that they might. I
think you picked eight or nine wins.

Speaker 2 (08:32):
Is that what you have said?

Speaker 3 (08:33):
Nine?

Speaker 4 (08:34):
I thought, like the ceiling, if they win that game,
that would take them to five five out of six,
they got a good shot to win twelve.

Speaker 2 (08:41):
Would you admit that? Would you say that?

Speaker 4 (08:43):
Cause then you only need to win six of your
last ten. That's not that's not like six of your
last week.

Speaker 1 (08:51):
And you hate to Aaron Rodgers and the Steelers are
doing what they're supposed to do. So I don't want
to take that away from them, that the benefit that
they have. Four games were supposed to be against Joe
Burrow and Lamar Jackson, which let's say you win one
until you're one and three against those or whatever, but
that those are all beatable games. And you know we
just mentioned the Bengals next, so that's a huge. When

(09:13):
I was making his progmication, progniztation whatever I'm talking to prognications,
even say it right now, prediction prediction, it was that
you're gonna be playing Lamar Jackson, arguably the best player
in the NFL and then also Joe Burrow arguably top
three to four best quarterback.

Speaker 2 (09:29):
So now it is wide open for them.

Speaker 1 (09:31):
So they to me, you better take advantage of this
abps freaking loutely if you're the Steelers.

Speaker 2 (09:35):
Now.

Speaker 1 (09:36):
The reason why I hear you and I'm not. My
question was never that Aaron Rodgers can't play the position.
He had solid numbers last year. My issue was Steelers,
when are you gonna find your guy? Because you've gone
through this. You went from being a team that has
very few quarterbacks that you kind of find your guy
for a long time, find your guy for long time,
to now you got a guy for a year, maybe
two max.

Speaker 2 (09:56):
When are you gonna get your guy? Was my issue?

Speaker 1 (09:58):
But when you look at why he's not gonna be
in this MVP candidate conversation, why you don't hear his name?
He's twenty third in passing yards right now, Rob, But
I mean, his numbers aren't that great. When you look
at some of the guys ahead of him, it's absolutely
you know, guys, you would never think cam Ward has
more passing yards than him.

Speaker 4 (10:18):
It's not about rattlers, but touchdown cam Ward have.

Speaker 2 (10:23):
If cam Wwarred does probably two or three. My guess
would look at three yard hold on saved yards.

Speaker 1 (10:30):
But then you have touchdowns Baker, and you have guys
who have bigger stories.

Speaker 2 (10:35):
Sam Donald's a big story.

Speaker 1 (10:36):
The team you bought out for didn't want you, sent
you to Seattle, and you're playing incredibly well to the
tune of uh Sam Donald. Eleven touchdowns, three interceptions, and
you have fifteen hundred yards. You got Matthew Stafford's on grace,
he's Dak Prescott's up there. We already know you think
Scofford's having a great year. I don't think he's leading
the league. Dude, st that's incredible. He's leading the league

(10:58):
in passing yards. He's twelve touchdown to two interceptions. His
team is one of the better teams in MC. He's
looking incredible right now. Sam Darnold, Dak Press, Gott Baker Mayfield.

Speaker 4 (11:09):
Dak Press. Got the losing record. Not be looking at Patrick,
don't want to m V want losing record. The Calvin no, no, no.

Speaker 1 (11:19):
But he's gonna be the Joe Burrow where we start
having these conversations and he's not gonna. I think he's
doing exactly with you. He's doing exactly what he's supposed
to do. Hey, I can't help that these quarterbacks are injured.
I can't help Cleveland starting.

Speaker 4 (11:31):
It doesn't mean that that that that has anything to
do with him, you know what I mean?

Speaker 2 (11:35):
Like you got to play who's out there? You see
what I'm saying.

Speaker 4 (11:38):
And the expectation for the Steelers was was was uh
tempered like you most a lot of people were in
your camp nine and eight?

Speaker 2 (11:46):
Oh, Aaron, did you see him in New York?

Speaker 6 (11:49):
Oh?

Speaker 2 (11:49):
The Jets got rid of him? Nobody wanted them.

Speaker 4 (11:52):
This that there's a narrative there, a conversation of a
forty forty one years old who has a team off
to a great start, and I'm just saying, if they're
able to win the division, a win twelve or thirteen games.
There's a real conversation and he continues to limit the
mistakes and stays upright.

Speaker 1 (12:12):
And does the best thing he's doing is getting the
ball out of his hands quickly. Looks like we got
a touchdown there for the Bills. Well that's how they
come out. Good way to come out the uh the
second half of them scoring a touchdown here about a
twelve fifteen yard pass to Ray Davis receiver. Here's a
couple other things. Though they beat the Jets. Who we
just been talking about the Jets the Browns the most recently.

Speaker 4 (12:32):
Remember when they beat the Jets, the defense was god
Off will give up two hundred and fifty yards of
the round, right, and he was able he would he
win that talk.

Speaker 1 (12:40):
But I'm I'm just saying he's been I'm talking about
who they've beaten. Though they beat the Jets, they beat
they beat the Patriots when they have five and or
five turnovers and barely beat them. They beat Carson Wentz
and then they beat the Browns, and I think those
things are hindering. While he's not in the conversation, people
are looking at him. I think people are going, that's interesting.

Speaker 2 (13:01):
They're for him.

Speaker 1 (13:01):
But nobody knows what to make of them yet because
we haven't really seen.

Speaker 2 (13:04):
Think that we know what team.

Speaker 4 (13:05):
But Baker and the and the Bucks have been good
for a couple of years. This is not like the
Baker story to me, isn't new. Like they've won a
couples at the end taking it up a notch. Now,
how many touchdowns do you have?

Speaker 1 (13:17):
Now he's playing he just lost his other good receiver
last night who second half was out and now Mike Kevis,
we don't know. He's starting to practice a little bit.
Baker is going crazy right now. Rob he has twelve touchdowns,
one interception, a passer rating of one hundred and eight
point five. I mean he's going crazy winning all. He's

(13:38):
not that far behind, is what I'm saying. Stats it's
the teams that he's beaten and he's is stats wise.
Yards dude, he only has one thousand yards.

Speaker 2 (13:49):
He's the main guys.

Speaker 1 (13:51):
He doesn't sixteen hundred almost seventeen hundred took in the.

Speaker 4 (13:55):
Touchdowns, they were almost identical. He has everybody else they
have eleven. Look at dudes have thirteen. No way you
thought that the Steelers would be where they are.

Speaker 1 (14:04):
I don't even care who they were. I told you
you didn't believe it. Wilson, David and Not said it's
gonna be. He's gonna win. I told you's gonna be,
just like Russell. Russell went sixth straight and he lost
five straight. The Russell Wilson drop off is coming. Where
they're gonna end there hosing No, I'm hoping for now again,
that was thinking you're gonna be playing Joe Burrow twice,
thinking you're playing Lamar Jackson twice, and things of that nature.

(14:28):
So he's take full advantage of it. I would too,
there being who they're supposed to. But Naga, that is
a very fortunate situation in that division because we thought
it was gonna be a tough division.

Speaker 2 (14:38):
All right, eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox.

Speaker 1 (14:41):
He not gonna get a single vote in Less eighteen
seven seventeen games, nine nine, six.

Speaker 4 (14:46):
Sixty three, sixty nine. I got a Roge the front
in the beginning. I got him as the front runner
right now for MZP.

Speaker 7 (14:56):
I man has a thousand yard Baker Mayfield. No way
should the Steelers be where they are twelfth right now,
and he's got ten touchdowns, three picks. Did you see
those two dimes he threw, robbed the man can't throw.
He's most those two domes he threw yesterday.

Speaker 2 (15:12):
I can't Robbie think that would have been betef It
was Aaron Judge thing tight end.

Speaker 4 (15:18):
If he were throwing the A, I would not be
able to control myself.

Speaker 1 (15:22):
I would be Baker Mayfield about to come in here
and slap you and rob g right now. Rob's ever
thinking his career is over and you for seeing Aaron
Rodgers at the NBP over Baker Mayfield.

Speaker 4 (15:32):
Stop it Rob eight seven seven ninety nine, Old Fox.

Speaker 4 (17:14):
I should say, hey, what's the square root of nine?
And she would say, uh three. I say, not only
are you smart, you're beautiful?

Speaker 1 (17:23):
Man.

Speaker 2 (17:25):
That was my life so bad. You know that's not bad.
That's not the did it hurt? What when you fail
from heaven? No, that's not a bad one, right, what's
the square root of nine? And then they would go,
I am smart and pretty. I knew it. My daddy
was wrong. Look at it like that. I mean, she's
working at paying for college. Maybe back in the eighties.

Speaker 1 (17:45):
Now it is the day they jumping out of college,
like let me go there to high school.

Speaker 2 (17:49):
I don't if you do it. Now they go to
the iPhone and then that was hype video. No go
to AI. They say, hey, AI, what's the square root
of nine?

Speaker 1 (17:57):
Exit painte can sneak up during the holiday hustle and
bus leaf can help you forget the pain make some
happy memories instead. With just one pill of Lee provides
up to twelve hours of body paying relief so you

double Wonder.

Speaker 2 (18:20):
What they're how many they left on right now? What's
the you know, bottom of the fifth of Milwaukee?

Speaker 1 (18:24):
Man, we got good games, good football games going on
to a lot happening right now.

Speaker 2 (18:28):
We get to all that in just a little bit. Uh,
I'm Aaron Rodgers.

Speaker 1 (18:31):
Is the five left on base or five left domates
of the Dodgers right now? Goodness great? You can't win
a game like that, all right? Aaron Rodgers is Rob's
MVP pick right now, simple as that. I think he's crazy.
There's like ten quarterbacks ahead of him. Might even be
some running backs. Running backs. While I'm at it, eight seven,
seven ninety nine on Fox a week, Let's go right
to the source.

Speaker 4 (18:49):
Alice in Pittsburgh. You're on the couple of Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (18:54):
What's up? Alice?

Speaker 5 (18:55):
My guys, how are you hey?

Speaker 2 (18:57):
We're good.

Speaker 5 (18:58):
I'm not talking on back on my regular shift. I
was working early shift nine to five.

Speaker 2 (19:03):
Okay, so you got us now?

Speaker 5 (19:05):
Yeah, So I heard you talking about the Steelers. I've
never heard the Steelers talked about so much as I have,
like the last twenty four hours since they won against
the Browns of all teams, Like, who you know that's
the Browns. I wouldn't I wouldn't be ready to crown
Aaron Rodgers' MVP, but he surprised us all.

Speaker 8 (19:25):
I don't think.

Speaker 5 (19:26):
Anybody expected him to be as good as he has been.
But then you know, he and DK Metcalf have had
good connections.

Speaker 2 (19:34):
Yep.

Speaker 5 (19:35):
The O line has improved there keeping him up right.
Roderick Jones no.

Speaker 4 (19:39):
Sacks last Sunday no sacks, and Alice your point is
exactly my reason. Like you said, the expectations were low.
They were low. You didn't want him to come. I
remember talking to you.

Speaker 5 (19:54):
I know I didn't want him.

Speaker 1 (19:55):
I stand firm, Alice. You don't have to change. Stand firm, Alice.
Staying on business, Alice, you ain't gonna change this early.
Five games in, No, it's gonna be six coming right
for them.

Speaker 5 (20:09):
They started, They started eleven hours a few years ago.
I lost the last six games.

Speaker 2 (20:15):
Yeah, that was a bad eleven and old team. I
remember that.

Speaker 5 (20:18):
Yeah, you know what, I'm happy with them the way
they are right now. They're doing well. If they don't,
you know, I think they may get in the playoffs,
they may win the division.

Speaker 4 (20:27):
If this keeps up, they should at this one. I
think they should get no doubt, right, Alice?

Speaker 2 (20:31):
Thank you?

Speaker 4 (20:32):
How about Alex in Miami? You're on the odd couple
of Fox Sports Radio. What's up, Alex?

Speaker 8 (20:38):
Oh my god? A Dolphins fan here? Please put me
out of my misery.

Speaker 4 (20:42):
Gee, I don't know what's worse like that, like the
Dolphins or the being a Jets fan.

Speaker 2 (20:48):
I'm dead serious, Like which one is worse?

Speaker 8 (20:50):
Anyways? MVP man uh Baker Maysfield's playing out of his
mind right now. I don't think it's team and then
you know, everybody else's second, and Pittsburgh is lucky that
their division is in shambles with the Ravens and the
Bengals out, and then Cleveland is being Cleveland. But I

(21:11):
have to say that Buffalo Bills, there is no excuse
for them this year not to get to the Super Bowl.
Lamar and the Ravens are down. Case he is down,
even though they may come back a little bit. Joe
burrows out, who are they gonna go through the playoffs?
The coach the Jags and maybe the Steelers Chargers?

Speaker 4 (21:30):
How about if that there you go the regular season
and then Aaron Rodgers beats uh.

Speaker 1 (21:34):
Uh they Hey, I don't think I don't like the Bills.
I'm not as high on the Bills as other people have.

Speaker 2 (21:40):
Yeah, I'm not.

Speaker 1 (21:40):
That would be sad, that would that wouldn't actually be
crazy to me.

Speaker 2 (21:44):
All right?

Speaker 1 (21:44):
We got rich Ormberger getting ready to join us in
a minute for more offense. I'm curious about his take
and the state alone. We'll get that in just a bit.
Right now, Steve is Sega gonna get updated Stevens so much.

Speaker 4 (21:53):
You've got a doubleheader for I mean, a twin killing
for us, because that's all we're seeing.

Speaker 3 (21:58):

Speaker 2 (22:31):
I think he'll be on our side. What do you think?
I don't know, I don't know, no State. God, guys.
I'm sorry, Rich.

Speaker 4 (22:39):
It's great to have you on, but James Franklin probably
should have been fired before this.

Speaker 2 (22:46):
And the stat what is it? One in eighteen against
top ten big ten teams.

Speaker 4 (22:49):
I mean, for all the winning that they did, they
never won the big games.

Speaker 9 (22:54):
I know, I know, I know, And as a Proudpenstator.
This one's things because I know coach Franklin a little
bit on a personal level. He's been good to me
and my family. He's a great man. I want to
start there. Penn State hired and fired a great man.
And just because he went on a three game skid here,

(23:15):
and it started with the Ducks on that white out
home game in front of a national audience, it doesn't
take away from the character of the man. But I
will say this, the reason why I wasn't fired sooner
and the reason why he was fired now is for
the same reason. Recruiting. That's what this game comes down to.

(23:37):
Even though he was losing the big games from he
was still able to retain recruits and restock the pond.
Penn State never had a problem with de commits from
top recruits. All of a sudden, something shifted here. That
loss against Dan Lanning at home during the white out,

(23:58):
with all of the build up to that game, that
started an avalanche, and it wasn't slowed on the road
against the Bruins in Ucla where they were favored by
twenty four and a half and they lost that game.
And then obviously the unforgivable moment, you know, in terms
of the athletic director and the donors who are becoming

(24:18):
increasingly important in college football, was the loss to Northwestern.
It's just that one word, recruiting. If you lose commitments,
people panic. If you lose commitments, all of a sudden,
your donor class, the people who are footing the bill
for all of these highly paid nil deals, they start

(24:38):
to get wary. And their words, their might, their will
means a lot more to football programs now than it
ever did because their money directly influences what happens on
the field and in the most important aspect of this game,
which is recruiting. And that is the reason why James
Franklin was fired now instead of earlier.

Speaker 1 (24:59):
Rich let me ask you too, I mean we mentioned
obviously I brought up earlier. I mean, you got a
seven seven hundred million dollars renovation going on, It's a
lot happening at the school.

Speaker 2 (25:07):
How much of it was also just sick of being
the bridesmaid?

Speaker 9 (25:10):
Right?

Speaker 1 (25:10):
You just saw Michigan two seasons ago win a national
Champa last.

Speaker 2 (25:14):
Year win another.

Speaker 1 (25:15):
How much was it saying, you know, hey, we're sick
of being you know, second third class in our own conference,
not to mention or Oregon now there usc now there
how much did that player role too?

Speaker 5 (25:25):
Oh?

Speaker 9 (25:25):
It matters, It matters greatly. I mean, think about Washington
was in the final four not too many years ago.
That's a Big ten team. Oregon, what they're doing and
what they did against Penn State. That factor is the
fact that Indiana, Indiana is now a potential national Look
at that big.

Speaker 4 (25:41):
Win in their program. I am all right, Rich, that's a
huge win for.

Speaker 9 (25:45):
Them, dude, I mean, Calvin, it is everywhere you look
around the Big Ten there's competition. Now, this isn't just
a three horse league anymore. You have tons of horses
in the race. And so look, like I said, I
think this comes down to recruiting, but also it comes
down to another factor and we all know this expectations.

(26:09):
He took Penn State back in twenty fourteen, threw some
dark days into the light. You know, Billy O'Brien really
steadied the ship after Joe Paterno was fired, and you know,
the program obviously went through a complete turnover and the
suspensions and the sanctions, and then James Franklin came in
and he breathed the life into this program, and he

(26:30):
had a good long run at eleven yard run, eleven
year run. He was into his twelfth season when he
got this firing. I mean, he did a lot for
the program, but expectations rose, and unfortunately he wasn't able
to bring the team above that bar that he created
for himself. And we've seen this many times in all

(26:50):
of sports. You know, there are certain managers in baseball,
certain coaches in the NFL who can get you to
the postseason, but they just can't get you over the top.

Speaker 5 (26:59):
You know.

Speaker 9 (26:59):
Think about Marvin Lewis with the Bengals.

Speaker 2 (27:01):
Yeah, I mean they weren't one.

Speaker 3 (27:03):
Did they loser?

Speaker 2 (27:03):
They were owen seven in the playoffs. Wonder Martin Lewis.
But they had really good teams and the red rifle.

Speaker 9 (27:10):
Every time he got to the postseas.

Speaker 8 (27:11):
You're like, man, they look good, they look good.

Speaker 9 (27:13):
They had those raymoud Luga defenses, and they just couldn't
do it.

Speaker 2 (27:17):
Well, let's go here in the NFL.

Speaker 4 (27:18):
I want to switch over uh to the Jets because
they were off to an OH to six start. I
I can't because because this is the thing Rich and
I get it, you know, like for every example you
could give, like, oh, you know, well, Dan Campbell got
off to a slow start, and they stuck with him,
you know what I mean? So sometimes you stick with coaches.

(27:40):
We saw Hacket in uh in Denver. It was obvious
to me like two or three games in like he
wasn't ready to be a head coach and and he
only got one year or whatever. Aaron glennon, just what's
happened there with the Jets and how bad it's been.

Speaker 2 (27:56):
Do you have a sense of what's going on here?

Speaker 4 (27:57):
And does he have a chance of losing the play
in the Lockerwow, if he doesn't make some changes maybe
at quarterback, do something, because oh to six, what a
winnable game next week if they don't win that game.

Speaker 2 (28:08):
I don't know what's going to happen here.

Speaker 9 (28:10):
Yeah, I'll tell you what. What will lose the locker
room faster than anything is when your head coach has
has poor situational awareness. And I don't know whose fault
it was, but we know where the blame will go
for what happened at the end of that first tat
against Denver. I mean, it doesn't matter if he had
an analyst in his ear or another voice in the

(28:32):
headset telling him they squandered an opportunity to very least
put a field goal up on.

Speaker 2 (28:37):
The board that might have won this game, that have
won the.

Speaker 9 (28:40):
Game, because it's a game that comes down to two points.
It's a game that comes down to two points. And
so you saw Garrett Wilson on the sideline. Yep, you
know what he was saying. I'm telling you, Rob Kelvin,
that is what will get you fired faster than anything else.
Is if the players go to you know, the general manager,
or they go to step above to the owner. And

(29:01):
I've seen this before and they say, this guy doesn't
know what he's doing, right. And if that happens, and
you know, these players who are getting paid more than
the coach, these players who are more influential than the
coach in certain locker rooms, if they're getting into managements
here and they're saying, hey, we got to make a
move because everybody on the sideline knew what to do,

(29:21):
everybody in the stands knew what to do, but for
some reason our head coach didn't know what to do.
That's a huge problem. Now I'll get you fired faster
than anything else. Now I don't know if that's what happened,
but I mean, you watch the game. I watched the game, Kelvin,
you watched the game. It appears like that's what happened
and that you cannot have happened.

Speaker 4 (29:40):
And then one last thing on the Jets just Justin Fields. No,
I've seen justin Fields for you. This is third team Rich.
I'm not trying to be mean or anything, and I'm
sure you know, just can he be fixed? Is he serviceable?
Do you have to go to Tyrod Taylor before this
gets out of hand and people start saying, well, you're

(30:01):
cutting people and this guy's not.

Speaker 2 (30:03):
Playing, why is the quarterback still playing? Do you fall
into that?

Speaker 8 (30:07):
Yeah?

Speaker 9 (30:07):
I mean, here's the deal. There are certain guys who
never become good enough decision makers at this level to
be trusted to be starting quarterbacks. You know, they reach
a ceiling in their potential because they just can't see
the field. And the only knock on Justin Fields when
he was coming out of Ohio State was is he

(30:28):
going to be able to make decisions at NFL speed?
And we have our answer now. When he was with
the Bears, it appeared like he had more of an
ability to improvise and extend plays with his legs, and
even that, it feels like defenses have a plan against them.
They bracket him in the pocket, they force him to throw,

(30:49):
and I mean his inability to make quick decisions led
to the forty five in that passing yardage and the
unbelievable amount of sacks that he's taken.

Speaker 2 (30:57):
Nine He had nine in his game.

Speaker 9 (31:00):
Yep, yep, No, and that's an elite defense. I think
Denver has an elite defense. It's a great squad. But
I mean, you can you cannot get sacked nine times.
I mean, yeah, blame the offensive line if you want,
for all of them, but you're not seeing the game.
If you're gonna blame, he's got to know where the
pressure is coming from. He has to understand what defenses
are doing to him. He has to understand where his
hot reads are. He needs to know who the unblocked

(31:23):
defenders are. This guy looks confused in the pocket, and
that is a really bad sign when you're onto your
thirteen and your fifth year in the league.

Speaker 2 (31:31):
And non completions and non sacks.

Speaker 1 (31:34):
How about that, lady assistent, Hey rich Man, we got
some great Monday night football going on right.

Speaker 2 (31:43):
Thank you, buddy.

Speaker 9 (31:43):
Yeah, yeah, anytime, anytime, no doubt.

Speaker 1 (31:46):
Man, it's great to e rich On. Uh, it's good
to get depends Bate. Absolutely good. Get Robb Gi. Friend
of our show, Bijon Robinson is going crazy right now.

Speaker 2 (31:57):
He's a friend of all just because he came on
our show once. Yeah, he was good.

Speaker 1 (32:00):
We had a good time with the down at the
super Bowl. Don't do that, don't but we can't have friends.

Speaker 2 (32:04):
One dude you met on the street in New Orleans
and he's a mentee because you met him one time. Yeah, yo,
I met my I met the legend.

Speaker 1 (32:13):
Oh man, thank you, ment I appreciate you just I
was with you.

Speaker 2 (32:18):
Yeah, a friend of the show. Be honestly, why are
you gonna be mad at me because they got mete.
They're just hating on me. One kid he had lunch
with at McDonald's one time. He's a dude.

Speaker 1 (32:27):
I'm so tired. I can't even go to the gas station.
I'm like, yeah, let me get us, let me get
forty on pump five. Hey man, are you in a
hot couple?

Speaker 8 (32:34):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (32:35):
Yeah, yeah, man, you with my uncle, man with a

Lake Snell is dealing for the dog Man that no,
you got no what is this one out in the
sixth But he's been dealing, man, but it's only one nothing.

Speaker 2 (33:56):
The Dodgers had a couple of guys on it in script.
That's what we got.

Speaker 1 (33:59):
Home run, seven strikeouts, no runs, one, no walks, no
walks in just one hit.

Speaker 2 (34:07):
I mean, that's what they brought him in for.

Speaker 1 (34:09):
Seventy pitches and don't bring the bullpen on the seventy pitches.

Speaker 2 (34:13):
Don't here we go.

Speaker 1 (34:14):
Once he gets out of this inning, they're gonna be
like well science says, it wants to be their time around.
You don't have three times. You don't want to do
that last call? Go last call?

Speaker 2 (34:36):
Who we got?

Speaker 4 (34:37):
We got Orlando in L Paso. You're on the couple
of Fox Sports Radio and you are the last call.

Speaker 10 (34:47):
Hey, guys, thank you for taking the call.

Speaker 2 (34:49):
Thank you.

Speaker 10 (34:49):
Just to chime in about Doug Godlie Man, you know
what I'm saying. He called Michigan tech nobody.

Speaker 9 (34:55):
You been lost to them.

Speaker 10 (34:57):
That's the kind of motivational technique that says we're gonna
shock the world guys by losing.

Speaker 2 (35:03):
Wait he for real, call him nobody. I remember there's
some controversy about that right.

Speaker 10 (35:09):
Yeah, yeah, he he you know, he ran his mouth.
He came all arrogant and all of that just to
be two and whatever. He is one something.

Speaker 2 (35:17):
I think he won four games. They correct.

Speaker 10 (35:21):
But the best part was when Lebron chimed on him
and he didn't like that, And I goes, oh, why
does Lebron have to comment on me when I have
him making, when he's making all his millions, like yes,
to take the time on the day, should comment on me.

Speaker 2 (35:34):
Talking Tuesday?

Speaker 4 (35:35):
Yes, this is trash talking Tuesday. Doug does it to
everybody on the network. Why can't we Rob g am
I wrong or.

Speaker 2 (35:42):
Not, I'm not involved in this.

Speaker 4 (35:44):
Like see, Rob, you don't want to hear because Doug.
You think Doug's gonna swing on you when we're at.

Speaker 2 (35:48):
The super Bowl, Doug might try to recruit me. There
you go, he left us up. We had jokes there.
We gotta just move on out here in these streets.
And you know what you would probably be to play
on this team. I'm just saying, Wow, you're so messy.

Speaker 1 (36:03):
By the way, Rob, you're are you telling me if
I get back in shape you could play to you? You
get a really strong knee brace. I got a shot.

Speaker 4 (36:11):
You played in the high school national job high school
chess state championship in Michigan.

Speaker 2 (36:16):
Just that class. No, I don't have to shave fade
up a little bit high. Have you seen these kids?
Have you seen these kids? Did you watch March Madness?
I'm not convinced.

Speaker 1 (36:26):
I didn't go to high school with half the players
on something said Cincinnati. Some of these teams, I'm looking like,
I know I went to high school with him. He
went the problem with my sister. It was out of line.

Speaker 2 (36:36):
These dudes are twenty eight, twenty nine, thirty five on
teams now.

Speaker 4 (36:40):
And uh, last chance you it is, uh so Blake
Snell it's through six innings, yeah, I mean six innings,
uh and one nothing Dodgers.

Speaker 1 (36:50):
This is the advantage that Dodgers have. We talked about it.
They don't have as the bullpen, they don't have the bullpen,
but they've got the guys. Right now, you got a
who's been great, Blake Snail's been great. Glass now he
can start or come out of the bullpen. We as
we've seen this postseason. And then not to mention Otani,
now dang it, oh Tani offensively m.

Speaker 2 (37:13):
Come on.

Speaker 1 (37:14):
He has been no hate, no tawny right now, I
know it's amazing. I don't know what's going on.

Speaker 2 (37:19):
Right then last year and last year got.

Speaker 4 (37:21):
Hurt, remember at some point you remember during the World Series,
but he didn't he didn't really hit that well he
did that.

Speaker 1 (37:26):
He hasn't hit this well this uh Offseaton postseason as well.
So he's gonna have to figure something out to get
them go because you can't just keep relying and you
know this, you can't just keep relying on your started
like schoobl which, by the way, the Tigers are trying
to work out a long term deal with him.

Speaker 2 (37:39):
I don't know, you know who his aging is. Yeah,
oh well good, Yeah, what you trying to say, he's
not to be a billion knowledge?

Speaker 4 (37:46):
Why would he sign a deal when he could go
on the free market to see what is available.

Speaker 2 (37:49):
I'm just saying that's true. Good point.
