Speaker 3 (05:09):
What where did that come from? Oh? My god? What Monty?
What's that for me? You sort of jeans? I have
one today?

Speaker 4 (05:16):
I am an ask man.

Speaker 3 (05:19):
You're supposed to hit the cock the crack up right there?
Where's the crack? Called tighter pants?

Speaker 4 (05:23):
Oh?

Speaker 3 (05:24):
Tighte pants?

Speaker 1 (05:25):
I will say, I'm not gonna sure. You sound very chief,
uh commander in chief? Right there? Play that again, Alex?
What tighte pants? You sound like?

Speaker 3 (05:36):
Oh god, tighte pants? Tighter pants? That sounds very prop
that that.

Speaker 1 (05:43):
I'm just saying, y'all, that maybe is just a New
Yorker and both of you please he's from my hometown.

Speaker 4 (05:48):
I heard Jamaica queens and Elijah is our social media.

Speaker 5 (05:55):
Google never heard of them.

Speaker 3 (05:56):
Yeah, there you go.

Speaker 1 (05:57):
How are we gonna telepropmt you do this in the morning.
This is getting crazy. But Elijah got a budget I
don't know about.

Speaker 3 (06:03):
I want you to know.

Speaker 4 (06:04):
I want to read a book for kids, like you know,
they had a book fair or whatever and they bring
in the local anchor people to read. And so I
read a book to some I don't know, third or
fourth graders or whatever. And the little girl came up
to me and she said, I've seen you on the
news or whatever.

Speaker 3 (06:23):
She said, too bad.

Speaker 4 (06:25):
You don't read a teleprompter as well as you read
a book.

Speaker 3 (06:33):
I said it on the news.

Speaker 2 (06:36):
You know.

Speaker 3 (06:37):
They all fell out because they showed the video and
you read the book. Came over said you read too bad.
You don't read the teleprompters as well as you read
a book. It was really funny.

Speaker 4 (06:47):
All right, I'm coming from Dodger Stadium. I did the
pregame and it's one one. Here we are Game three Milwaukee,
of course, fighting for their lives. They have to win,
just like Torontald did. They lost the first two games
at home, as the Brewers did. They came to uh uh.
Seattle won that game, and Milwaukee's trying to do the

(07:08):
same thing to dig themselves out of a hole.

Speaker 3 (07:10):
All right, let's let's get started.

Speaker 4 (07:12):
Me a lot to get to, including Thursday night football,
the Citizen Bowl.

Speaker 3 (07:17):
Yes, between Aaron and of course both of them heard
right after that play.

Speaker 4 (07:24):
Yeah, Aaron Rodgers and I forgot the other guy, Joe
Flack go from like that, yes, and those two guys.

Speaker 3 (07:32):
But there you have it, Rob G. People are calling
that what the Icy Hot Bowl. The teammates are calling
it the Icy Hot Bowl. Everybody's excited about.

Speaker 1 (07:42):
I think the only person more excited than the Bengals
and Steelers fans is me, because I love all people
doing stuff.

Speaker 9 (07:48):
You know.

Speaker 3 (07:48):
There you go. That's right. Rob might want up you.
He might based on this this next segment here.

Speaker 4 (07:54):
Well, I do just want to jump in here, and
I'm gonna say this, And I know Kelvin's anti Aaron Rodgery.

Speaker 3 (08:00):
I don't know when I became an anti Aaron Rodgers.
Could you sit next to you, Aaron Rodgers exactly?

Speaker 4 (08:06):
For me?

Speaker 3 (08:06):
I love that anti. But anyway, it's all good.

Speaker 4 (08:10):
I'm telling you right now that the worm has turned
for Aaron Rodgers. At one time he was public enemy
number one. People didn't like him because of the comments
on uh McAfee and the vaccine and when he said
he got vaccinated and he wasn't vaccinated, and people he
took a turn. At one time, he was trying to

(08:31):
be the host of Jeopardy, right. He tried out and
he did really well, and people thought, wow, this guy
might be the host of Jet to replace Alex Trebek,
a legend in the game show the world and all
that stuff. But I think it's turned for Aaron Rodgers.
And there's a couple example. A's on the Steelers playing

(08:51):
better the Jets where he left, where people were trying
to make it like it was his fault that things
didn't work out there. He was the reason why he
and they're owing six they're even worse situations. So you
look at that and go, well, what did he have
to do with that? Because they're still terrible and they've
been terrible since basically nineteen sixty nine. I'm just when

(09:12):
they won the Super Bowl. But the other part is
Terry Bradshaw ripped him, and I thought that's that you
remember about it. Terry Bradshaw ripped Aaron Rodgers like what
do you wait for this guy for? Blah blah blah
blah blah, all this other stuff, and he was asked
about it, I think on NFL network somebody was doing
an interview and they asked him, what did you make
of that?

Speaker 3 (09:32):
He said, I don't know Terry. He goes.

Speaker 4 (09:34):
I respect Terry won four Super bowl He's a great
quarterback Pittsburgh Steelers. Whatever I wish Terry would get to
know me or whatever, I'm open to that. I have
nothing ill to say about him. Blah blah blah blah blah.
He's off for McAfee. Now he's not doing that anymore.
He's just playing football. He's playing. Even when they talked
about the Icy Hot Bowl, he just kind of laughed
about it.

Speaker 9 (09:54):
You know.

Speaker 4 (09:54):
It just seemed like to me, he's more back to
the discount double check guy back when he was the thing,
and you remember that people were doing a discount double
check every time he throw a touchdown.

Speaker 3 (10:08):
It was fun to me. It was good. I think
I think he's turned the corner.

Speaker 1 (10:13):
The only the first the only challenge that I have
to that is. I don't think he's turned a corner.
I think he's just indifferent land, which is perfectly fine
where people are just in different They don't like. No
one's talking about him, period, and that's okay. That's a
good thing. I think sometimes when you stay a long time,
everything starts to come out, right, Your opinions on this

(10:33):
come out, whether they be political, whether it be about
you know, medicine and vaccines. And then we got to
like you for that, dislike you for that, I don't
like you that your girlfriend who you dated. All these
things happen when you stick around ten, fifteen, twenty years
Lebron James, when it was just really basketball and just
getting down on the court, nobody Oh yeah, well, you know,
obviously gonna have a few haters.

Speaker 3 (10:51):
That's normal.

Speaker 1 (10:51):
But the more he sticks around, the more he puts
out his opinion, the more he does this, the more
he's passing aggressive.

Speaker 3 (10:56):
You call me watch king. People get tired of him.

Speaker 1 (10:58):
And that's just what happens when you've been great for
so long as Aaron Rodgers has. We've been talking about
him for now twenty plus the year, twenty years.

Speaker 3 (11:04):
It's a long time. It's more to talk about. So
I don't think it's a negative thing.

Speaker 1 (11:07):
I think that's just inevitable when you've been that guy
for that long, right, you name the thing in life,
could be an actor, could be a musician, and artists
in this case, world class all pro one of the
greatest football players ever, he has been that guy. And
I just think the more he started to get into
his eclectic self, and you know, talking about experimenting with drugs,
some people are pro drugs, some people are not. That's

(11:29):
gonna get people to talk about you give what I mean.
And so I think he's now because he's been quiet,
the team's playing well. He's in indifferent vie, which is
perfectly fine, where no everybody right now is talking about
what's wrong with the Ravens.

Speaker 3 (11:41):
Are the Chiefs back?

Speaker 4 (11:42):
And not?

Speaker 1 (11:42):
Can you trust the Lions? The Chargers finally turned the corner?
Like there's so many other storylines right now. Where did
the coach come from? Baker Mayfield gonna get me the
MVP or nah? So I think he's just in kind
of no man's land where nobody's really talking about him
in a positive way. That's perfectly And the more he
just the team continues to win with they have a
great chance because that division was not what all of

(12:05):
us thought it would be going into the season, so
now they have a chance.

Speaker 3 (12:08):
To do really well.

Speaker 1 (12:10):
He keeps playing well, riding and running game and defense
kind of laying load now forcing throws. Then maybe the
conversations to me can be a little bit more where
you are now in five six weeks and let's say
they're you know, they're nine to three and he's slowly rising.
Maybe not the mv P, but just the conversations, then
I think we'll be here right now. I just think
people are different. They're just not thinking about them in

(12:30):
a negative or positive way. And that can be a
good thing too, where you're just maintaining and doing your thing.
And I do think Mike Tomlin has a lot to
do with that him and they're bromance and welcoming in
and kind of the stability of the the franchise.

Speaker 3 (12:42):
I think that agree to a certain extent.

Speaker 4 (12:44):
But the there was a space there for him to
go off on Terry Bradshaw, you know what I mean.

Speaker 3 (12:51):
Like there was this will I will absolutely concede.

Speaker 4 (12:54):
That, and I think that that was that and and
also deciding that Pat mac fee, I need to get
off of that like like like that, that's not Yeah,
it helped Pat McAfee.

Speaker 3 (13:05):
Land ESPN and he got his money and that was
for him.

Speaker 8 (13:10):
That was.

Speaker 3 (13:12):
J used to come with.

Speaker 4 (13:14):
That helped his career, But that wasn't great. That wasn't
great for for Aaron for Aaron, and I think that
has changed now where people are.

Speaker 1 (13:22):
Looking at him and that's very mature. That was very
mature because sometimes you know what we do in lifetime.
In life, we have pride where you like, no, I'm
gonna do this.

Speaker 3 (13:31):
I can't so what. I don't care what people say.

Speaker 1 (13:33):
That's very wise of Aaron, But you know what, I'm
gonna get out of rest for now. You know who
else has done that thus far. Michael Parsons, remember he
was like, I'm gonna get rid of some stuff. I'm
a chill and focus on football. He's not and he's
not got a million podcasts. I don't know is he
doing his pod I haven't heard anything, geez Michaeh doing
his podcast or to our knowledge on and off a
little bit, but but not like not like it what

(13:55):
he's holding, That's what I mean.

Speaker 3 (13:58):
So that's very I appreciate people don't fall on pride,
you know what I mean. Oh, you're not gonna tell
me what to do, do what I want to do.

Speaker 1 (14:04):
And a lot of people do that, and Aaron seems
are like, you know, let me turn a new leaf,
let me focus on this. And uh, I think that's
been great for him, all.

Speaker 4 (14:11):
Right, eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox eight seven
seven nine to nine, six sixty three sixty nine. And
has Aaron Rodgers become likable again?

Speaker 3 (14:22):
If you like?

Speaker 4 (14:23):
Didn't like him and he turned into something because with
the discount double check and the State Farm commercials Oh.

Speaker 3 (14:29):
No, he was. He was that guy. He was for
a good probably decade. Come on, everybody robbed you. You
did the discount double check?

Speaker 4 (14:36):
Yeah, I'm full mega, Now make Aaron great again?

Speaker 3 (14:38):
There you go. God, I just threw up in my mouth.
We have to do that, and I have a red
hat on it, Aless, I hope you do.

Speaker 1 (14:48):
And Hey, Lucky Locky, Chris, Chris, Chris, it wasn't that funny, Chris.
You gotta relax. Lucky rob g might be telling us something,
you know. I just imagine you tickling him when I
hear that, Like what else could have been happening that nice.

Speaker 3 (15:07):
I see him.

Speaker 1 (15:08):
Smacking your hand like stop at style, like are you well?
He tickling to Alex.

Speaker 3 (15:11):
I heard that when Chris came to the press box.

Speaker 4 (15:15):
Naming that was him, Mike, that was I'm sorry, Yeah,
all right, Box, that's right. We want to hear from you.

(18:08):
he moved the need a little bit on you? Has
he changed kind of your perspective?

Speaker 4 (18:11):
Uh?

Speaker 3 (18:12):
Maybe he hasn't. Maybe you love him steal. You don't
like him? Where you with Aaron Rodgers?

Speaker 5 (18:16):
Uh?

Speaker 3 (18:16):
This year with the Steelers eight seven, seven, niney nine
on Fox? Who we got? All right?

Speaker 4 (18:19):
Anderson and Queens? You're on the odd couple of Fox
Sports Radio?

Speaker 3 (18:22):

Speaker 5 (18:25):
Man?

Speaker 3 (18:25):
How you.

Speaker 8 (18:28):
Man?

Speaker 3 (18:28):
What's up? Queens? Where should we go? The world is
so bit us?

Speaker 10 (18:32):
You're from Jamaica, Queens like, we're like, we're.

Speaker 3 (18:35):
Linden and Merrick. Where are you from.

Speaker 10 (18:37):
London in America? Okay? I used to I used to
live in far Rockaway in Roseville. I'm in Jersey now.

Speaker 3 (18:42):
Okay, yep, that we're seeing it is coponent Orie. Ain't
that far Rock? I'm sorry? Go ahead, Rock you know
you know what I'm gonna say. It is real quick?

Speaker 4 (18:50):
You know what?

Speaker 3 (18:50):
They call it? Far Rockaway? And Anders notice it's far.
It is out there, it's far, yes, and.

Speaker 8 (18:56):
Queen Queen is But a couple of things I was
going to say, I think I think with with with
Terry Bradshaw, why Amaron Rodgers didn't I would definitely say
it's probably the resume because of Terry Bradshaw resume. Why
he didn't comment.

Speaker 10 (19:13):
And also I would definitely say that Pittsburgh the organization.

Speaker 8 (19:16):
With Mike Tomlin.

Speaker 10 (19:17):
But I don't even know if Amaron Rodgers has turned
the corner like that. Rob He's probably he's playing decent,
you know what I mean, Like, I don't know if
he's making that kind of noise, That's what I mean.

Speaker 3 (19:28):
Yeah, I don't know.

Speaker 4 (19:29):
Ten touchdowns, three picks and if form one with only
one home win, I think that's pretty good.

Speaker 1 (19:34):
I don't think he was I didn't think he was
in front of the game play. I thought he was saying,
like nobody said, he playing just he said, he's just playing, okay.
I thought he was talking about like the personality part
of it. I believe Mike Timlin plays a massive role
in this when you come into certain people's houses who
have an establishment, and that's a good thing, like all right,
this is the city, this is the organization, franchise.

Speaker 4 (19:53):
But I think he looked at Terry Bradshaw in his
history there and just said I'm not going to go down.

Speaker 3 (19:57):
That was a smart move because it made Terry look
exactly smart. Smart. Sometimes you being quiet, yep makes the
other person.

Speaker 4 (20:05):
Andre in Massachusetts, you're on the couple of Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 3 (20:08):
What's up, buddy, Hey, how you doing?

Speaker 11 (20:11):
Thanks taking a call.

Speaker 5 (20:12):
Listen.

Speaker 11 (20:13):
I think Aaron Rodgers is getting the tutorial and had
to move differently and and see the results.

Speaker 9 (20:18):
Listen.

Speaker 11 (20:19):
You know, he was one of these guys that wanted
to control the narrative, that wanted to be out front,
going on a Pat McAfee show, all of the is
he coming back? Is he not taking place in the summer?
And he kind of lived in that. But along with
the Steelers are doing a lot based on the implosion
of the AFC North right the Ravens. We we didn't
see that, okay in Cincinnati with the injuries, but Rogers playing,

(20:44):
you know, they're winning and he's allowed to stay behind
the scenes and and they have the benefits. Of course,
you know Dog wants to act up, but no, in
terms of Aaron Rodgers, there is no acting up. And
I think that's why.

Speaker 1 (20:55):
Okay, Dree, I like that, no doubt, Thank you, Drake.

Speaker 3 (21:02):
He was like Dog acting up. But speaking of acting up,
real good.

Speaker 4 (21:06):
A nice ad lib right there. Drew in New Jersey,
you're in the odd couple of Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 3 (21:12):
What's up Drew?

Speaker 8 (21:13):
Hey?

Speaker 12 (21:14):
I mean if you're saying off the field, I think
that off the field, yeah, things have died down. Also,
I think that a lot of what the media was
saying is kind of disingenuous, especially if you're like, on
one hand, you'll have people say, oh, he's the worst
leader in sports, and then your next segment is is
Lamar Jackson. Then the next h Michael Vick and not

(21:35):
realize that you're pretty much you know, you don't see
the irony in that and that segment, which I feel
like is kind of straight up just disingenuous. One's a
dog murder.

Speaker 3 (21:44):
Oh, Drew, stop it Drew.

Speaker 1 (21:46):
You know when people compared to Michael vickas the athletics,
I ain't nobody compared to his character with dogs.

Speaker 3 (21:51):
Drew, stop it Drew. You know better than that? All right?

Speaker 1 (21:54):
On the way, we got Mike Sando, who covers the
NFL for the Athletic, who talks to NFL headlines with
him Right now, Manzi Blanios, You'll favorite part of YouTube
is up.

Speaker 2 (22:02):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Odd Couple
with Rob Parker and Kelvin Washington weekdays at seven pm Eastern,
four pm Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 1 (22:14):
Right now we are Mike Sando. Sando NFL on X
covers the NFL for the Athletic and is our guest
right now.

Speaker 3 (22:20):
Mike, what's going on?

Speaker 5 (22:22):
Not too much? How are you doing great?

Speaker 9 (22:24):
Right?

Speaker 5 (22:24):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (22:24):
Doing good? What we know?

Speaker 1 (22:26):
You can just titles where you think? We were just
talking about Aaron Rodgers. But just where do you make
of him and the Steelers right now? He's playing pretty well,
the team's playing on well, only one home win so far.

Speaker 3 (22:37):
Not bad.

Speaker 7 (22:39):
I think I about either their thing is just been quiet,
you know, and some of that you're winning. But if
you go through last year, you know there was always
something going on about him on the McAfee shows.

Speaker 4 (22:49):
Yes, I don't know if you heard it, Know what, Mike,
we just talking about that, no McAfee. Even when Terry
Bradshaw ripped him, Aaron took the high h Do you
know what I mean?

Speaker 3 (23:01):
It's just there's no noise.

Speaker 7 (23:03):
I give credit to the Steelers and Mike Tomlin. You know,
I think that I think that Aaron Rodgers has a
respect for Mike Tomlin that he doesn't have. You know,
there's a short list of people that probably can get
Aaron Rodgers respect, and Aaron Rodgers can't fake respect.

Speaker 5 (23:17):
Would you say that, Yeah, you.

Speaker 7 (23:19):
Can go in somewhere and they can only swallow their
pride or whatever, you know, and just act like everything
is okay.

Speaker 5 (23:26):
Roger.

Speaker 3 (23:26):
Did you say Russell Wilson. I couldn't hear him. What
did they say?

Speaker 5 (23:28):
Oh? Stop?

Speaker 7 (23:31):
Well, but it's like Rogers sees I think Rogers is
conforming to Pittsburgh. Yeah, and that's good for them.

Speaker 3 (23:38):
Uh, let's go here his former team.

Speaker 4 (23:40):
Because people were saying, oh it was Aaron there, and
Aaron Glenn said, hey, uh, you know, fly across country,
so I could tell you in fifteen seconds that we're
done with your year.

Speaker 9 (23:52):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (23:52):
But but Justin Fields, what do you do if you're
if you're Aaron Glenn?

Speaker 4 (23:57):
Seriously, like like you've got to make a decision, because
you could just say, just keep putting the kid out there.
But there's a lot of other guys on the team
and you all win six and things just don't look good.

Speaker 3 (24:09):
What do you do?

Speaker 5 (24:10):
Well?

Speaker 7 (24:12):
What it has to be known is I think the
Aaron Glenn had a big play, big say in the
fact that Justin Field is going to be their quarterback
because he was in the NFC North with Justin Field.
Sustin Fields had a couple of big games against them,
running the ball, had a couple hundred yard games, and
they don't only sign him as a certain quarterback. They
gave him ten million fully guaranteed next season, next.

Speaker 3 (24:34):
Season, which is crazy.

Speaker 5 (24:36):
I don't know.

Speaker 7 (24:36):
Who else was going to give Justin Field that kind
of deal.

Speaker 5 (24:39):
Nobody in bench last year.

Speaker 7 (24:41):
So you've kind of made your bed. And I will
say this, Justin Field does not This was a game.
This was by far their worst game. Like Justin Fields
has not been that bad every game, and the Jets
have not been either. So I think he's gonna you know,
they have Tyrad Taylor's their backup, so he's not necessarily
at this stage somebody are going to go to the
whole season with I think that, you know, they've probably

(25:02):
made their bed a little bit with Fields, and they
need to ride it out a little longer unless there's
another disaster game or two like that where he's taking
nine sects and you have to change it.

Speaker 1 (25:11):
Hey, Mike, let me ask you this, Mike Sander. Our
guests here in the odd couple, Rob and Kelvin on
the TV thing. So on Thursday, he covers the NFL
for the Athletic I'm gonna throw a few teams here,
and you tell me the ones that seem to be
going through some things right now? Who you say it's
easy and it's fixable. So I'm start with the Bills.
A couple of slides now, a couple of games they've lost.
Folks are a little bit maybe down on them. The
Eagles the same thing as well, and we don't know

(25:34):
exactly what's going on with the Packers. Where do you
kind of come out on a few of those teams
who have been taken a rough few weeks, still good,
but where do you make it was easily fixable and
they'll be fine.

Speaker 5 (25:46):
So I think that.

Speaker 7 (25:48):
I think that the Bills is pretty straightforward. I think
Josh Allen's going to be able to carry them and
they're going to be good. But I do think that
their defense is not going to be that great, so
that I see them as a little bit of a
team that's going to be there in the end. They're
going to have a good record, but I'm not really
convinced yet that defensively they're going to be good enough
to take the next step, so they may be kind

(26:10):
of where they've been.

Speaker 5 (26:12):
The Eagles still.

Speaker 7 (26:15):
Have a lot of talent, and I'm not quite seeing
them as the complete ticking.

Speaker 5 (26:20):
Time bomb that some people are. You know, I think
that they will be okay.

Speaker 7 (26:26):
I think they'll be okay, But you know, are they
going to They're not going to be like last year?

Speaker 5 (26:32):
I don't.

Speaker 7 (26:32):
I don't think they get it fixed like that, but
I think that they'll I think that they'll be okay.

Speaker 5 (26:36):
And who is your third team? The Packers?

Speaker 1 (26:39):
Yeah, the Packers or even the Rams too. I mean
either're for too, but they've had a couple of games
where you're, you know something.

Speaker 7 (26:46):
I think the Packers are three to one on one,
and I think they'll be inconsistent.

Speaker 5 (26:50):
I do, I don't. I don't think they're They're so young.

Speaker 7 (26:52):
They're always like the youngest team in the league, and
I just don't necessarily see the game to game consistency
from a team that young or from Jordan Love at
this point.

Speaker 5 (27:02):
Either.

Speaker 4 (27:03):
We saw the Bears pull out a game in Washington.
I thought that was a big win. They got to
the key fumble, but you still have to watch it
down and set it up and Caleb got one pass
and it was a third down to get them where
they needed to go.

Speaker 3 (27:18):
What do you make of where they are?

Speaker 4 (27:19):
They got blown out, they got, as we say in
the barbershop, blown out by the Lions, and then they've
won three games in a row.

Speaker 7 (27:25):
Of view the Bears, I think the winning three games
in a row helps them so much because you have
a coach who's new to this and kind of brash,
you know. I think Ben Johnson has said some public
statements about his team that yeah, not everybody makes about,
you know, criticizing the body language of players or complaining
about guys who are on the injured list. He's been

(27:47):
kind of, you know, tough in his talk, and I
think that is hard to do if you're not winning.
So I think that getting some of these wins helps
the coach kind of help establish his pro and maybe
get guys to buy in, Whereas I think that could
be difficult if you're talking tough and you didn't get
to win. So I think that's that's that part of it.

(28:09):
Then I think the other part is, you know, there
was a lot of doom and gloom predictions for Kayla
Williams and he hasn't let in the world on fire.
But I feel okay about it, Like I feel like.

Speaker 5 (28:18):
I want to see some more here. It hasn't been
a disaster or anything.

Speaker 3 (28:22):
And here's the other thing.

Speaker 4 (28:23):
Now, Kevin and I we argue about this a lot,
and you just and he just mentioned it about you know,
when you win, you're able to get people to buy in.
And it's the whole culture thing, you know. I hear
that all the time. Aaron Glenn's going to take the
Lion's culture and bring it to the Jets. To me,
you have to win. Once you start winning, you could

(28:44):
get people to buy in. But it ain't just a
culture what you believe should be done and this and that.
Without that, it's hard for people to buy in. Where
are you on the culture thing, because I think you
have to win and then you could develop a culture
because guys buy in is not just you showing up
and saying you have a new culture and this is.

Speaker 3 (29:05):
What we do.

Speaker 7 (29:06):
Yeah, I agree with a lot of what you're saying.
I think though, I think that like for Dan Campbell
going into Detroit, they were four nineteen and one, so
a lot of coaches get fired at that point. And
then we say he never he tried to bring the
culture and never could.

Speaker 5 (29:22):
But they stuck with him.

Speaker 7 (29:24):
And he was able to get it going. Now they
did a good job in that are realms, and I
think that their ownership is better than it used to be.
I think Sheila Ford is better, you know, than some
of the other ones.

Speaker 5 (29:34):
They've had, So I get that credit.

Speaker 7 (29:35):
The Jets, to me, may be hard to turn for
a culture guy to turn. I think when you look
at these coaches, some of them do bring, you know,
a scheme that can get working quickly. Right, you bring
in Kyle Shanan or whatever, and suddenly you know quarterbacks
who were not great quarterbacks have great numbers.

Speaker 5 (29:55):
Right.

Speaker 7 (29:56):
I think it can be hard to come in and
get enough time the culture guy. When looking it Aaron Glenn,
he's not even the defensive play caller, right, even though
he's my coach. So what can he do? He's going
to need the patience of that ownership to help turn
it because I don't necessarily seem him making the instant

(30:17):
difference on game day.

Speaker 4 (30:19):
To me, it was like Hacket in Denver. It was
obvious to me he keep no.

Speaker 3 (30:24):
Hackett is sitting at home every day you bring them up.

Speaker 4 (30:28):
It was it was obvious to me that first few
games that he was not a head coach. I'm serious,
and and and maybe I just jumped the gun, but
I gave him the nickname can't Hackett like after Week
one or two, whatever it was. I just think sometimes
we make a lot about culture, and I just think
winning has to be a part of it for me
to buy in.

Speaker 3 (30:48):
That's all.

Speaker 1 (30:49):
That's where he and I disagree. And to me, you
build a culture and then the wins come. He doesn't
you it's part of culture.

Speaker 3 (30:54):
And if that's the case, then that would have a
lot of coaches. Yeah, but they might not just be
good coaches.

Speaker 1 (30:58):
My point is you have to build it to create
because that's how you was staying even a bad stretch
of losses, because you have the culture. My last one
for me, I do want to stick with the Lions.
There's a make a case that they're not the best
team in the NFC. Who would you have.

Speaker 3 (31:12):
They haven't beaten anybody?

Speaker 7 (31:15):
Well, we may have our answer when they played Tampa
this week. I mean Tampa may beat them, So you know, yeah,
I think that that's Look, you're right, they haven't beaten.

Speaker 5 (31:28):
Look look at who.

Speaker 7 (31:28):
They've played, and I think, but it's hard to really,
it's easier to argue against every team in the NFC
being the best than it is to argue for anyone
being the best.

Speaker 5 (31:37):
Do you agree with that?

Speaker 3 (31:38):
Yes, I'll give you that.

Speaker 5 (31:39):
Yet think it?

Speaker 7 (31:40):
Yeah, I think we get I think it's easy to
but someone has to be the best.

Speaker 3 (31:44):
No, I get it.

Speaker 4 (31:45):
I'm just saying when I look at them, when I
look at the wins, and maybe we looked at Baltimore
as a great win, but then we looked at Baltimore
did not everybody was going forty points against them, So
that win to me, doesn't look that way. They lost
to Kansas City, they lost to Green Bay, and who
have they beat? They've beating the Bears and a couple
of the bad teams, So I don't know that to me.

Speaker 7 (32:05):
You know what the thing is that those losses are
double digit losses, Like, how many double digit losses have
did they have?

Speaker 5 (32:11):
Last year?

Speaker 2 (32:12):
Right?

Speaker 1 (32:13):
Had two losses and they weren't do digits. Point differential
was crazy last year. Hey, Mike, we appreciate it as always.

Speaker 7 (32:20):
Hey, thank you, It's perfect time. And I got my
grill fired up. We're gonna put the Northwest salmon on
there tonight.

Speaker 5 (32:26):
What do you think about that?

Speaker 3 (32:27):
Oh wow, very nice paper salad.

Speaker 7 (32:31):
Well, we're not having a lot with it because my
wife's out of town and I just eat like a bachelor.

Speaker 3 (32:34):
When she said, there you go, salmon, little guard, she
left me.

Speaker 7 (32:40):
You know what she left me with. She left me
with a We never did this, but it's a beef
strugging off with filet mignon.

Speaker 5 (32:46):
For the for the beef.

Speaker 3 (32:48):
All I'm gonna say is believe you guys are living
high on the hog. What is the athletic pay? My god,
I need to get her.

Speaker 5 (32:57):
I just it this way.

Speaker 7 (32:58):
I was like, you know, you can't even get a
terry chicken at the at the Cherokee Chicken Place.

Speaker 5 (33:02):
You're gonna spend like twenty.

Speaker 3 (33:03):
Five bucks, right, Yeah, that's true.

Speaker 7 (33:04):
If you if you spend eighty bucks on the file
ats and make that into six meals, oh like you
know that's that's not You're in your twenty.

Speaker 5 (33:14):
Bucks a meal.

Speaker 7 (33:15):
That's you know that ain't bad. When the when white set.

Speaker 3 (33:17):
Of town, so hey, you're living it up. I remember.

Speaker 1 (33:19):
Anytime that happens, you get to kind of be a
bachelor for two three days and it is fun.

Speaker 3 (33:22):
All right, Mike, thank you so much.

Speaker 5 (33:24):
Right, I'll see it.

Speaker 3 (33:25):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (33:25):
Lyon fast food. Fast food used to be quick and inexpensive.
That is not the case anymore. Fast food is expensive,
all right. On the way, CHECKO City play other day.
Plus the Blue Jays. Rob has something to say to them.
We'll tell you what that is. It's THEA Couple Fox

Welcome to Shekel City hole base for Rob Parker's daily
Dix against the spread.

Speaker 3 (34:32):
Moist right now? How you doing? I am Moist? After that?
Here we go, sheckl City. I was Friday No last night.
I told you. I told you that the Blue Jays
had to win.

Speaker 4 (34:46):
No.

Speaker 3 (34:47):
I was one of No.

Speaker 2 (34:48):
I don't know.

Speaker 3 (34:49):
I want to know. It's only one game to pick no.

Speaker 4 (34:51):
But I got it right, Okay, one of the right
and forty two and thirty seven. I'm building that stel
forty two and thirty seven. Catch Oh, now you don't
want to reset.

Speaker 3 (35:01):
No, We're not going now. You're on fire. You want
to keep rolling? Hr U, Elijah, can you send this
to me?

Speaker 8 (35:08):
Make it?

Speaker 6 (35:08):
You know I said it to hr You know what
you do? How you know I know I got sources, HRU.
I do it every day. I always ask Elijah how
he's doing. I never just get into it, say do this,
do that. It's not the best part is what's his
response to that?

Speaker 3 (35:24):
Just shows you.

Speaker 1 (35:25):
Now Listen, You're like, how are you He's like actually
having a horrible day. You're like, great, can you put
this up?

Speaker 3 (35:29):
Can you know it.

Speaker 4 (35:31):
Just carry Oh god, oh god, can I say it?

Speaker 3 (35:36):
Got Alix? Go you do it?

Speaker 1 (35:38):
Oh God, I think Alex. I like Alex doing you
better than you do you? Yes, Okay, we go Shekel City.
Let's get it done real quick tonight. I'm taking the
Steelers minus five and a half taking on the Bengals Inceinsey.

Speaker 4 (35:52):
That's my best bet. I got the Brewers plus one
and a half. It's one one in the sixth inning
right now, and I'm taking Seattle plus one and a half.
They're the underdogs taking on the Blue Jays and Max
Shures are on the mound for Game four. So Mariners
plus one and a half, Brewers plus one and a half,

(36:12):
and the Steelers minus five and a half.

Speaker 3 (36:15):
Remember I'm not telling you who to bet on. You
tell them.

Speaker 4 (36:17):
I'm telling you who I bet on. If the Brewers
take another third strike, can they swing the bat?

Speaker 3 (36:23):
My good? What are you looking for? Well?

Speaker 1 (36:26):
I think because their manager came out yesterday and was like,
oh man, we took, we took, you know, we reached
and for more than ever we swung it bad uh,
more than we ever. So now I think that might
have been. Now they're over compensating for that. All right,
it's time now for your tire reck player of the
day's pitch.

Speaker 4 (36:42):
Flighty hits it high in deep center field, moving back,
Rodriguez at the warning track, leaps at the fence.

Speaker 3 (36:47):
Did he get it? He did not? It's cone home run,
Vladimir Carrero Junior head.

Speaker 1 (36:54):
It's seven to Blue Jays in the fifth Well, blue
Jay's radio there, that's your tire reck player of the
day tyreck voice, right, yeah, thank you, yes, you're talking
about Blue jas. For over forty years, tire Rack has
been helping customers on the right tire. What where they
if we got one right here now, drive ship fast
and free back by free road hazard protection with convenient

(37:17):
installa shoptions like mobile tire installation tire rack dot com.
It is the way tied buying should be. Let me
ask you this, since you always say this, did the
Blue Jays wayte start their runs?

Speaker 3 (37:26):
They did as you always say.

Speaker 4 (37:28):
You know, like runs, you might not You might get
blake the next day, like tonight, they might need a
couple of runs.

Speaker 1 (37:35):
Well wait, okay, well what about the opposite rob What
about when the Dodgers keep getting one and two runs
and all that when win a.

Speaker 4 (37:41):
The ten eleven twelve run game up breakout of goodn't this?
Maybe it'll be next spring training in the first game
of the year. Man, I'm just saying, dude, this but
it's ridiculous, like like they're getting these great pitch games. Uh,
Tyler Glasnell just pitched five and two thirds. They took
him out after he walked the battle. But look at
what you got from your three stars. And these games
are all close, right, they won two to one, four

(38:04):
to one, right? Was it five to one? I should say, right,
two to one, five to one, and it's one one today.
It ain't that blowing them out, And that's what I'd
be frustrating.

Speaker 1 (38:12):
I mean, obviously, again, the pitching has done so well
that you feel like you still got it and you
feel like you have the better bats, so eventually they'll
come alive. But my goodness, you do want some separation.
Can I breathe a little bit? Can I have a hiccup?
If I have a hiccup, we might.

Speaker 4 (38:26):
Lose because all it takes is that a bad play
or something. You know what, a ball hits a pal school, right,
He's like, Okay, I give a couple of solo ho
runs and I can't win. I can't one in forty
two extra innings. Unbelievable. That was the longest game. I
fell asleep, took a nap, woke up. It was still
on when Ran and Eron came on, and was still on.
Then I passed out a few times because I was
so nervous. And then your and then your phone went

(38:48):
off the hook because people were like so my phone
was just jumping, like, oh God.

Speaker 1 (38:53):
On the phone. Yeah, happened to be on the phone
with a buddy man. He's like, man, what I'm I dude,
you can't lose this now. It's the old theory of
I'd much rather be blown out and just be like
it just it was, you know, wasn't our time, wasn't
our season.

Speaker 3 (39:04):
Whatever.

Speaker 4 (39:04):
This is two years in a row, like you know,
you're thinking you're gonna take that next step. Then this
year espressally, they were at one point the best team
in the American League. For sure.

Speaker 3 (39:12):
They need they just need a bat.

Speaker 1 (39:13):
My gosh, apparently everybody needs a bat right now, Yes,
except the Blue Jays.

Speaker 4 (39:18):
Well, I guess Bregman is available. He opted on his
contract with the Red Sox and They were interested in
him last year, so he might be there. Guy.

Speaker 1 (39:25):
Maybe somebody gotta come in. Can we get some power? Please,
my goodness,
