dot com for a free rad quote. And we got
a lot of stuff today to start the show. A
(01:05):
lot of big news, a lot of disturbing news. Uh,
just so much happening. We got the big fight of
course that's gonna take place in u La, and uh,
just so much going on. H Chris, I don't even
(01:25):
know where I mean. I just the football Kareem Hunt
story obviously is where we're gonna start. And uh, I
just time and time again, I keep seeing the same
story happen over and over, and uh I don't I
just I just shake my head. Let me ask you,
did you start the show off? Right? I did? He
(01:47):
did start out? Can we replay that? I gotta get it?
All right, we'll do that, all right, I did that
all that. I just you can talk about who's coming
up on the show, and then we'll uh get into
the Kareem Hunt. Well, we have Mark Dominic, former NFL GM.
We have actually with the Kansas City Chiefs. I'm not mistaken.
(02:10):
So he's gonna be great. That's in thirty minutes. Perfect
person to talk to today. And then in the second hour,
you know, it's always celebrity Corner on Friday, and we
got a special guest, none other than hip hop legend
Chuck D, the head voice of Public Enemy. And you
(02:30):
know what that's gonna be. And we both know him.
Oh yeah, good dude. Man. When you cover the Knicks,
you get to know Chuck D, Spike Lee, all those guys.
And uh, I mean I go back to him back
into the late nineties when I was working at Newsday.
That's how long Chuck D and I used to talk
about basketball and stuff like that. But he knows sports
really well, and he knows basketball. But Chris first, let
(02:52):
me just wocome into the odd couple crew. Uh, and
we'll get started because it's a serious topic. We want
to talk and first throw that in first. Not bad.
That was trying to sound like I was trying to say,
because that sounds a little higher than your No. Oh yeah,
(03:14):
that's stopped me at all. I was trying to do
a risp but yeah, as always Rob gez our producer,
Alex our engineer. Uh. Depth Carson's the sports anchor. She'll
keep us updated throughout the whole program intern as. Kyla
she's here had on back when she was in such
a great mood coming in. He was she had a big,
(03:36):
pretty smile. Owner told her that that's where something something
special happened. What's going on, Kyla? That must be We'll
give her the MiCT something we wanted. We do want it.
And just so folks, no, I wasn't late, because that's
what everybody was saying, you were late. I'm usually I
do the all. Yeah, I just was. I just had
switched it away and we had our meeting and I
(03:57):
had to take care of that. That really, Yeah, I
would not have guessed that was you. I would have
guessed if I heard that I would guess that was
me before I would guess that was right, and that
was me. That was good. I hear you every day
doing so I figured I figured we get there. But
uh no, no, but serious uh And the big topic
(04:20):
in sports today is Chiefs running back Kareem Hunt. Yes,
Kareem Hunt, who in February had an incident with a
young lady at a hotel in Cleveland, and everybody knew
a they was reported and no charges were issued by
the young lady. I guess they had police reports where
(04:41):
she said it was his fault. He said it was
her fault. So there was really a lot of confusion
about it. Honestly, he didn't get any punishment from the
league or the Chiefs. But today TMZ released the video
footage from the hotel cameras of Kareem Hunt. And if
you have they got that video from the hotel, you
(05:02):
know how they got their video. It's amazing they get everything.
But if you got this, yep, you can get anything
you want, all right, So if you haven't seen the video,
he shoved the woman, then he pushed his friend. He
like ran like ram Rod and his friend and his
(05:25):
friend flew into the woman and the friend and the
woman flew into the wall. After he hit he ran
into him and then he kicked the woman. Uh. All
I have to say, rob is Kareem Hunt should be
suspended for the rest of the season. Wow. And if
(05:45):
I'm the Kansas City Chiefs, I'm not waiting for the league.
The league should do it. But I'm not even waiting. No,
you could do it the team. You don't. You don't
have to wait for the league. You could say this
behavior is not what our organization is about, and we
don't care how well you run the football. We don't
care what's at stake. We don't want to win if
(06:08):
we gotta do it with people who handle themselves this
way in a situation, the rest of the season, not
always that's five regular season games, I mean, I don't
even know, maybe even the playoffs wow, But definitely the
rest of the season. The only way men are going
(06:30):
to change this behavior in a significant way is if
there is major discipline, punishment and repercussions. That's it. There's
a reason that parents have disciplined their children over the years.
There's a reason that in school you have discipline. I
was disciplined by my parents. I discipline my children. So
(06:52):
you learn I discipline my children. Yes, I spank my
little girls when they were little, and I had to
spank them maybe once or twice, and that was it.
Never had any more problems out of they got the message. Yes,
And that's what discipline does. If you just you know,
slap him on the wrist, then this is not and
(07:13):
it's not viewed as a big deal. Then not only
may he continue the behavior, but other men out there
could continue the behavior. Yeah, because usually when you can
run a football, tackle, throw a football, make baskets, hit
home runs, for some reason, people lose their minds and
(07:34):
think it's okay. They let you get away with just
about anything. And that's that's the society in the world
we live in. And we know this. This has been
going on forever. Yeah, you know that forever, and men
have gotten away. But look a lot of our heroes,
let's just be hon the sports heroes did these sorts
of things. And so now things have changed, thankfully. And
(07:55):
what I would say to every man in a situation
like this or potential in a situation like this, you
have if you don't have daughters, if you don't have
a wife, then you certainly have a mother yet their mother,
and then sisters, you might have cousins. I mean, there's
all kinds of women in your life, even if you're not,
(08:17):
like you say, not married or don't have any kids.
Like in my case, I have two sisters and I
think of them in these situations my mom's past, but
the same exactly thing, you know what I mean, I
always think about that. I'm never like thinking like, oh,
would I want my sisters or my mom to go
through this. That's doesn't It should just rile you up
(08:41):
period as a man. But if it doesn't, then think
about it that way and then it will. I guarantee
you it will. Because when I think of my daughters
right in this situation, and my daughters are twenty years
and they're dating guys and me guys and all kinds
of stuff like and I know, I could imagine Chris
(09:03):
where you are and you have two beautiful daughters. Yeah,
and he's he's I mean, some some of the arrogance, man,
just to think you can do that because you can
run a freaking football, right, I mean, I don't care
what you're great at. There's no excuse. And that cause
you play a game you got the right to treat
women like that. And in that case, if you watch
(09:24):
the video, if you haven't seen it, you could check
it out for yourself. But if you watch it, Chris,
there was many times he could have pulled himself away
and stop. Well he went time and his friends were
trying to like, okay, like I don't what's going through
your head. You gotta get back at her, no matter what,
even though you have something to lose. And according to her,
(09:46):
she she was a friend of a friend who knew him,
didn't know his last name, She just met him. You
don't even know the woman. What what in the world
could be that bad on somebody you don't even know, Chris,
And and and look, it wasn't ray Rice's situation, thankfully,
but when you look at the video, it looks like
(10:09):
it could have been if there weren't people there to
hold him. Yeah, and again I said it ray Rice
video and that Joe mixing video. Mixing is another one.
And mixing he got drafted. He's in the league. Yeah,
and at least he you know, in college, he suffered
his you know, he was suspended for a year, and
(10:29):
uh so he paid. Look, people can change, Uh anybody
out there that's saying, oh, they'll always be like no,
people can change, all right. And so I'm not saying
he shouldn't be able to play in the league at
some point, just suspended for the rest of the season.
And and I would love to see the Kansas City
Chiefs show some heart and come out and do it.
(10:53):
And here's the other part. The NFL has a major problem, Chris.
They always seem to wind up with egg on its
face like they don't know what's going on. Like there's
all this video. These things are happening in hotels where
you know, it's a camera everywhere. You know this video.
Are you not willing the NFL to go to the
(11:14):
hotel and get the video? TMZ went they they they
they got the video. You could get the videt. The
NFL could have got the Ray Rice video that was
in the casino. We know, other than the bathrooms, the
entire casinos covered by cameras, other than the bathroom, Chris, Look,
if it comes out, and you're right, they should have.
(11:35):
They could have went gotten it themselves. They can't have.
But if it comes out that they they've already seen it,
or the Chiefs, Oh this is Ray Rice all over again.
I mean, look, Kansas City Chiefs, do the right thing.
I'm sorry for you Chiefs fans out there, because that
dude is a great running back and it would be
a heck of a law. That would be a blow yea,
(11:58):
even for you fans. You you got a mother, you
might have sisters, you might have a wife, you might
have daughters. It's more important that Kareem Hunt and other
men learn a lesson from this, that you're not going
to be able to get away from with this stuff
than it is for I hate to say it, for
you to win a Super Bowl, and maybe you can
(12:19):
win it without him. Look the Philadelphia seventy six ers,
I mean Eagles won the Super Bowl. More important position.
You still got Patrick Mahomes, You still have Tyreek Hill.
We know he's had this in his past too. But look,
I think y'all need to come down hard and fast
and swift. That's the couple is in agreement. We're in
(12:43):
agreement on this one. There's no doubt about an eight
seven seven ninety nine on Fox A seven seven nine
nine six sixty three sixty nine. Should the NFL have
suspend Kareem Hunt for the rest of the season, will
continue the conversation with you. Next, it's The Eye Couple
Fox Sports Radio. You are tuned into The Eye coupleist
Chris Brussard and Rod Parker, and we are brought to
(13:05):
you by Discover Card because Discover treats you like you
would treat yourself. And we're talking about the story of
the day, and that is Kansas City Chiefs running back
Kareem Hunt. It's seen on videotape back in February. Just
came out to day TMZ broke the news or the
video of him shoving and kicking a woman, a young
(13:28):
lady in a hotel. And the Chiefs once the video
came out, they sent Kareem Hunt. At least they didn't
from practice right right. And I'm saying, Rob, they should
send him home for the rest of the season, maybe
even the playoffs. What I would say, because the league rule,
I believe if this is gonna be this is assault
(13:48):
because it's like he just met the chick. Yeah, there's
no relationship or anything going on, So this would, I guess,
wouldn't be domestic violence, be assault. But going by the
domestic violence was six games. And I'm saying that because
she when she when we heard the nine one last name,
she didn't know his last name, and she said, Hey,
I met him through my friend and and so that
(14:10):
gave me the idea that she just met him that night. Yeah,
when you watch some of the fight, it looks like, yeah,
they hardly even knew each other, right, all right, eight seven,
seven ninety nine on Fox. Yeah, I think what I'm
gonna say, Rob six games. I'm with that. So that
would be the rest of the regular season and the
first playoff game, And if it costs you a Super Bowl,
so be it. But Kareem Hunt and other men, not
(14:33):
just athletes min period, need to start seeing that there's
some are going to be some repercussions for this type
of behavior because otherwise were just paying lip service to it.
We saw and the me too. Look at all the
big time people in the media who lost their game,
Superstar super Matt Lower. Yet Charlie Rolls CBS, Bill Cosby's
(14:57):
life was and a in for what he did. It
should have been Bill o' bill O'Reilly with Fox. Yeah,
you could go on and on. Then it's it's it's
out there and why should these guys be any different? Right,
Because they can run a football, right, Nah, time out
for that, all right, Let's get to your thoughts on
the phones eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox eight
(15:18):
seven seven nine nine six sixty three sixty nine. Let's
start with Jim in Montana. Jim, welcome to the Odd Couple.
Look up, Chris and Rob. How are you guys doing? Man? Oh,
I'm doing great. Just got off Mark. Listen to your
show on my way home every day. You guys are awesome.
Love the show. Thank you, We appreciate. We got love
(15:38):
for Montana. Mess absolutely, that's what's up, all right? So
what's what's your point? All right? I just wanted to say, hey, Chris,
I agree with you, but I take it a step further.
Suspend him for the playoffs too, Get him out of there.
I mean, I think the Chiefs are behind the ball
already the way the story broke, and I think they
(15:59):
need to suspend them. Even if they go to the
super Bowl. He shouldn't play. Get him out of there. Wow, No,
I'm not mad at that. I mean that that's a
real punishment. Now we don't know where we don't know
where it falls under because the league has jurisdiction. This
isn't domestic violence where there's a roadmap or a procedure
and a number, like you said, six games, this is assault.
(16:20):
This would just be assault, right, Yeah, So I don't
know what I don't know what the commissioner is or
if there's a charges were filed or anything like that.
The videos all you need, yea, even without charging, right
you see the video, he should not. He represents the
Kansas City Chiefs, the NFL, and the city of Kansas City.
And when you represent other people, just like because you
(16:41):
represent Fox all the time, whether whether you're working or not.
If I go out to a bar and that crazy,
same exact thing. I represent Fox, We represent Fox Sports Radio.
You represent companies and other people who've who've been trusted
in you to act professional and do the and to
what the callers said, Look, obviously, missing the last five
(17:04):
games or the regular season, that's a punishment, but a
real punishment. Something that he's going to really feel and
the team is going to really feel would be the playoffs.
So we'll see what the league does. They better do
at least the regular season. Though, let's go to Kevin
in Washington. Kevin, you're on the odd couple as I'm
(17:26):
in Seattle, Washington. I'm a huge Chiefs fan and have
been from thirty years. I totally agree that I believe
that krame Hunt should be suspended. Whether he'll get six
games I truly doubted, or probably something closer to two
or four. But the one point I do want to
make that you guys are forgetting is his backup Spencer Ware,
who was leading the league in rushing before he went
(17:46):
down with his injury two years ago. So as far
as that Chie's taken a step back, I don't see
that happening. Spencer Ware is just as good of a
running back as krame Hunt is. Really, you think he's
as good as Hunt? He was leading the league before
you got in here took over. Well, Kevin and he
obviously that's not the main story. But yeah, I mean, look,
(18:07):
we said it last year. The Philadelphia Eagles win the
Super Bowl with Nick Foles. Look at James Connor in Pittsburgh.
So I mean to look, that is one angle, And yeah,
I mean maybe they'll still roll. It doesn't mean they'll
be done. I don't know, Kevin, Thanks for the call.
What about David in New Jersey? You're on the odd
couple Fox Sports Radio. What's up, Dave, Hey, what's happening?
(18:28):
Follows great show? Um, I think we need to kind
of keep see the overall perspective with this whole situation. Obviously,
what Kareem Hunt did, it is indefensible, it was wrong.
He should have called security, he should not have gone
after her. But but missing from your coverage is the
(18:48):
fact that, according to witnesses, she banged on his door
after she took them out. She banged on the door
for thirty minutes and repeatedly called him the N word. So,
you know, we I think it's something that he should
have caused securely, both black, ob what can I finish?
(19:09):
I think it's something that we have to be honest
with if we want to sure or improve race relations. Obviously,
what he did is reprehensible and it's stupid, and he
should have called security or should have called the police.
But this woman banging on the door calling him the
N word, like, that's that's a problem. Dave. Obviously, Dave,
(19:32):
I hear you, and and and that's not We're not
excusing her, h her her behavior, her behavior at all.
But she he don't even know who she is. I
mean that according to the nine one nine one one call?
Can we play that? I'm to be honest, if I'm
we are hotels all the time as sports reporters, right,
(19:54):
if somebody was banging on my door calling me the
N word or anything, I'm just gonna cause secure already. Right,
it's not even that. It's not even a difficult decision.
Why would I open the door. It's not like I'm
gonna have to fight off my urges to go go
beat her down, like I'm just gonna cause security. You
got the nine one one, let's hear it. Nine in Cleveland? Okay,
(20:16):
this is Cleveland Police dispatcher un torture. Where do you
need the police? The nine in Cleveland downtown, the Metropolitan
the nine? And what's going on now? I was assaulted? Okay?
Who assaulted you? Um? I think his birth name is Kareem?
How did you end up with him? You just murder
(20:36):
him here? Yes? I always meeting him with my friends
tonight and I mean things run long? Do you need
an ambulance? No? Any weapons involved? No? All right, there
you have it. That's what I'm saying. Didn't even know
(20:57):
his name. I'm gonna be worked worked up about somebody
I don't know Chris that that's look. And then Rob
and I are consistent in calling out racist, yes, and
we obviously think it's terrible if if she was calling
him the N word, I ain't see that on videos,
and then she was repeatedly doing that, he should that's
a shame, but he should have called him the hotel
(21:20):
police to hand front security to handle. Really, nobody else
heard this. This is going on for thirty minutes at
his door, the story doesn't I've been in hotels of
her commotions. Yeah, somebody nobody heard that for thirty minutes.
I don't. That's hard for me to buy. All Right,
let's go to Alan in Maine. Alan, welcome to the
Eye Couple. What's up, Fellas. What's happening the whole thing?
(21:47):
I mean, it's it's like it's like ray Rice relived. Um,
I mean, it's played with nothing. There's been Everybody is like,
oh in they're up in arms about it when it happened,
and it seems like then we forget about it. Well,
I think the thing is and you're talking about obviously
when it was reported, because it happened in February, right, Unfortunately,
(22:11):
we don't really know until you know when you see
the video, because in this case there were no charges filed.
He had one story, she had another. And Alan, you
noticed a lot of he said, she said stories. And unfortunately,
unless you have video or something, just don't. You don't know.
Because even when the police talk and interview everybody, all
her friends say he did it, and all his friends say,
(22:34):
and then the cops look at each other and go, Okay,
well nobody's head got knocked off. So so while we
what can we do? Can you do? No? Sure? Sure?
But that's but what I'm saying is, that's the society
that we're living in. Is you still gotta worry about it.
We saw, we saw something we didn't just hear about it.
We saw something brutal happened to he's talking about ray Rice.
(22:56):
Oh yeah, that's why. That's why I'm saying talk. That's
why I'm saying Alan, and look, Rice, you know you
can say he paid the price. But I just think
the only way men are going to stop doing this
in any significant degree is if there are major repercussions,
and there has to be a major suspension for Kareem
(23:19):
Hunt Ray Rice. Look, let's be honest. If ray Rice
has still been a great player, right Still, think his
punishment would have been he would have been back in
the league at some point, and you know, it wouldn't
have been a big deal. Maybe the Redskins would have
picked him. Right. Well, yeah, right, that's a good segue
into the show. All Right, why are the Chiefs taken
(23:40):
so long to make a statement on Kareem Hunt? Former
NFL general manager Mark Dominic has the answer next, but first,
let's bringing Dev Carson for the latest in sports debt. Well,
you guys just mentioned the Chiefs. Their Twitter account has
been conspicuously quiet for about five hours now. No statement
yet from the Chiefs TMZ at least that video earlier
(24:01):
today showing Kareem Hunt shoving and kicking a woman in
that scuffle in Cleveland last February. Police were called of
the scene, They interviewed Hunt, They interviewed the alleged victim.
Hunt was not charged, nor was he arrested. Of course,
he was at practice earlier today, but left the team's
facility soon after the video was posted online. Chiefs getting
set to take on the Raiders in Oakland this weekend.
(24:22):
In other NFL news, Chargers running back Melvin Gordon is
out for Sunday night's game against the Steelers. Rams activated
cornerback a Key to lead from injured reserve, and he's
expected to play Sunday against the Lions. Joe Flacco Mitch
Trubisky doubtful for their respective teams for the Ravens and
for the Bears in their respective matchups. Still don't know
for sure who will be the starter in those games.
(24:44):
NBA News Pacers guard Victor Oladipo out indefinitely with a
sore knee, while in Friday's Discover Card key matchup, the
Anaheim Ducks just getting set to take on the Carolina Hurricanes.

appreciate it. It is the Eye Couple, Chris brus Hard
and Rob Parker, and we're coming to you live from
the Gueco Fox Sports Radio Studios. It's easy to say
fifteen percent or more in your car insurance with Geico.
Go to Geico dot com. Or call eight hundred nine
four seven auto. The only hard part figuring out which
(25:29):
way is easier. And as we wait for Mark dominic
who was a former executive general manager and scout in
the NFL and actually with the Kansas City Chiefs and
Tampa Bay Buccaneers. All right, here we go. Let's welcome
in Mark Dominick. As I said, former NFL general manager
and scout, worked with the Kansas City Chiefs and Tampa
(25:51):
Bay Buccaneers, and now he's with serious XM NFL Radio. Mark,
welcome to the Eye couple. How you tell you doing?
Buddy good to hear your voices again. How you guys
do We're great, We're great. We didn't plan to have
you on with this story breaking out, honestly, but it
works out. I mean, what what is your rob and
I have both said that the Chiefs with the Kareem
(26:13):
Hunt situation, I don't even think they should wait for
the league. I think they should suspending for the rest
of the regular season at least. Um, what's your take
and bring up on what they should do and tell
us how a team like when something like this happens,
all the things that a team is looking at and
why well, they're they're they're there right now. Again, if
(26:38):
this is all new to everybody, which I hope it is, right,
I mean, you only can hope this is if if anybody,
if the Chiefs organization knew this was real and this happened,
there's good to be a much more fury that happens.
But you know, because you're supposed to at the club
of as a former general manager, if something happens at
your football team, the first person you supposed to call
(27:00):
as the league office that I would call the owner.
Then you call the league office and say, here's what
just went down, and they're supposed to be educated on
it so that everybody can be on the same page
and figuring out what happened, how did this play out?
In this regard with Kareem Hunt, which is sounds and
looks and is tough. The first thing you would do
(27:22):
is now at this point, you call the league office.
You talked to you know, one of the people up there,
and then I personally, here's the problem you have is
the club executive, the league office doesn't want you to
do anything right. So it makes you look bad because
the league office is like, we've got this, We're gonna
handle this. Let us investigate, and you, as a club
representative of like, yeah, but Kansas City is looking at
(27:44):
me or any read or the organizations saying what are
you supposed to be doing? Why aren't you doing anything?
To your point, guys, you're like, why aren't they doing anything?
They're being quiet because the League office has probably told
him to say, whoa, whoa, whoa, We'll handle this. And
this is the biggest disc connect that happens between the
NFL clubs in the league office, because an NFL club
(28:05):
is quite frankly, an easy thing to do here is
with the crew there is like, we're going to suspend
Kallem Hunt until we gather more information, want to say,
in the worst way. And I think that's what I
would do right now, no matter what the League Office
tels me. I would act out right now publicly and say, look,
we don't condone what we've seen, what we've heard, weren't
(28:28):
suspend him for now until we've gathered more information, and
then we will address this accordingly. And I think that's
the proper way to handle this. Although the League office
saying whoa, you know, due process exists and you can't
do anything until you know what. Due process exists, but
public perception is real and that's a hard combination. But
(28:49):
but even in due process, just because the guys suspended,
it doesn't mean that he can't play again, or you
know what I mean, until you until you see everything.
That's why when people say that, oh you rush to judgment,
No one's dudgeon. You don't need to play football while
you're going through these things. And I guess my other
thing is with the chiefs, um, why why when that
(29:10):
incident happened back in February, why doesn't the NFL or
even the chiefs Okay, this happened, that they knew about it,
But why don't they get the video the same way
I know, TMZ, they pay for it. They got the video.
That's that's wholeway. Camera in the hotel, every every place
is covered. Just like when Baltimore or in the NFL
didn't get the ray Rice camera video in the elevator.
(29:34):
All that stuff is there. How come the teams don't
go get it? I don't understand that. Help me out more, right?
So I think that the thing you got to figure
out is, like to your point, you know obviously clearly
TMZ didn't get it until just now and just recently,
and so that's why this became public knowledge and public
information right off the bat. Now, um, this is a
(29:57):
little different. When you watch this video me, it's it's
not good. There's nothing good about it. As you can
you know, CLU see it to go to any TMZ video.
He's he's in a bad state and he's making four
choices across the board. Why don't they get it? I
would sit there and say this, I don't know if
anybody knew, and I don't want to make excuses for
(30:20):
the chiefs or the or the NFL. I'm not sure
who knew this happened, right, You just don't know who
knew this happened. And so when you see it now,
really you're you're sick. I mean it's sick. It's uncomfortable
across the board, no doubt. And so you know, as
much as you're like, why didn't the club get it
or why did the league get it? They may not
(30:41):
knew existed. They just may not have known, and so
should they have gotten it? To your point, the ray Rice, Yeah,
that's a mistake by the league office. That was a
mistake because we saw the video wrong outside the elevator,
so you knew what it had to be video inside exactly.
So I agree with you. Like in that situation, that's
where the league, it's quite frankly turned to blind eye,
(31:04):
right they did. But in this situation, I am not
sure anybody knew this stuff was coming down, Like, no one,
I guarantee, you know, remember you know Andy, I doubt
Andy Reid knew this happened. I doubt that anybody in
the Chiefs organization knew this happened about because this is
one of those things where I'm sure that everybody tried
to cover it up and like in the Kareem Hunt
(31:26):
crew and be like, you know, if we don't talk
about it, this didn't happen. And I'm not it's just
but so I don't want to get angry at the
League or the Chiefs for not handling I think this
is new to everybody right now. But they but they
also knew about Tywee Kill and what went on in
college and they drafted him. No I know, And that's
John Dorsey and you gotta sue. So the Chiefs have
(31:46):
been interesting because I've been defending them in a different ways,
like Kareem Hunt was you know, from my perspective and
from scouts around the league, he was a clean dude.
Like it wasn't like like this is Marcus Peters are kill.
This is justin Houston failed to combine tests with the
drugs you know, marijuana, you know they had they had
(32:07):
been taking on risks, and it felt like they're like
these guys got this figured out, like they know who's right,
Like can trust me? You can't? And then you get
this one with Green Hunt, who's you know as far
as we all do, and anybody knew that was not
a kid that got himself in trouble. This shows you
just and I don't know in terms of alcohol or
anything that's induced, but this just shows you that you know,
(32:31):
you better have a strong support system. You have to
make good choices. But I would think that right now,
if I was the kinds in chiefs and I'm talking
to mister Hunt as the GM, I would say, look,
we have to suspend him and will gather more information
and then we will address this going forward. But I
think that's the smart move for Kinsity right now. It's
the Eye couple, Christmas are Rob Parker. We're going by
(32:53):
with Mark Dominic, former NFL general manager and scout, And Mark,
I know the NFL has things, whether it's just for
all players or certainly rookies when they enter the league
and they talk to him about all sorts of life situations.
I would imagine domestic violence is one of those things
to stay away from. Like how much does the league
(33:15):
emphasize that or even just individual teams with their players, like, look,
do not put yourself in this situation. If a woman
does this, says this, whatever, just walk away. Like how
how big of an emphasis is that among teams? You know,
it's just tremendous emphasis. And you can see when you
watch the video that there are people there trying to
stop him from making poor choices. Thankfully they can't. I mean,
(33:38):
he could have been worse, if you know what I mean,
Oh worse. Yeah, there's a dude in the sweatshirt, the
Great Sweatshirt who's like trying to pull people away, like
this is really bad and this is nothing healthy about
what's going on. But in the end, you know, this
is just where we and I think, and I hate
to say this, like this p fellos, like we checked
(33:59):
the boxing in that we're like you know what, we
did a domestic violence you know, we did financial literacy check,
we did domestic violence check. We did this check. And
there's a lot of people out the NFLPA and certainly
the league opposite are like, no, we got to dig deeper,
and they're trying their best. But sometimes we do it
once and then we sit there and say, well, we
did it. We know, we talked about it, and I
(34:20):
think the downside is that we don't do these things.
So like when I was at the Bucks, we had
two posters in our locker room. One was you know,
heroes and one was Zeros. And what we would do
is anytime we saw a feel good story about a
player that did something right in their community, like you know,
that's great, you know what you're doing and how you're
(34:41):
raising money for this or you set out for that,
that was a post report. And then we had those
zeros like a dui a choice. You know. Now it's
sadly Kareem Hunt like it's just kind of a concert matter.
When they walked in the locker room, they always saw
you choose which boards you were to be on every day,
and it's easy to sounds. It's hard because when you
(35:02):
start to what I believe and I don't know alcohol
or some type of substance. I'm assuming alcohol, but you know,
some type of substance gets into your body, you start
making dumb choices, and if you don't have a good
support group around you or who you're at with that night,
it becomes on TMZ and that's really it's it's it's awful. Yea, Hey, Mark,
we got less than a minute, and I know I'm
(35:24):
asking you to do something, But what's going on with
the Redskins as well? Doug Williams, their VP, UH, apologizes
for calling the Ruben Foster domestic vat of violence allegations
small potatoes his quote, but I guess Monty thing is
no other team claimed him. Did Were you shocked that
the Redskins claimed him? Considering what what what he's facing,
(35:48):
It just seemed like maybe they jumped the guns guys.
It was it was a critical mistake. It was an
earned judgment by the Redskins in my opinion. Look, you
have five guys that played at Alabama, right, so you
probably have one of the more heavily Alabama rosters in
the National Football League. You can still sit there and
talk to those five guys and tell me, tell me
about Urban Foster. And by the way, once he clears
(36:10):
waivers at four o'clock, I want each one of you
five guys to call him and say, we are going
to fully investigate what's going on. If this is bogus,
or if this is not real, or if we don't
feel like this is what it is, we want you
here instead of claiming him. And now you've almost like
made the domestic violence book, Petty. That's where they really
(36:31):
made a critical error. And so I think the Redskins
misplayed this situation completely. And then sadly with Doug Williams,
I give him credity he walked out their destinions that
I apologize, but it doesn't take away the fact that
his mindset was wrong in the first place. But Mark,
but Mark, how can we not hear from the gm
aready owner in a situation you should? That's terrible. I worked,
(36:53):
I worked with Doug in Tampa Bay. I worked for
Bruce in Tampa Bay. There needs to be more coming
from the top, not Doug being a scapegoat right now
because right now Dougs get crushed and you know, he
said some stuff he shouldn't have said, but there needs
to be somebody behind him right now saying look, just
let us let us play this out. This might not
(37:14):
have been the red statement, but we're still going to
play this out because the Redskins made the bed. Now
I'm never gonna land it. Mark great stuff. Thank you
so much, Thank you. We appreciate that for both your voices.

(38:24):
This is actually the Grins from the new movie coming out?
Who did that? This is Tyler the creator? Oh really okay,
he's talented. That sounds funky, all right. It's the Eye
Couple saying, what's crazy real quick? Is the original Grinch
thing is like only like nine or ten minutes and
they make a whole movie out of it. Like, it's
(38:44):
not that long the Grinch story the book you mean? Yeah,
like like the story, the original one that's on CBS.
They put a lot of commercial and stuff, but it's
not that long. Wow, all right, thank you for that. Rob.
It's the I Couple, Chris Brussard, Rob, don't don't ever
sat and give you anything. And and I look this Saturday.
(39:04):
I'm excited This Saturday, undefeated Heavyweight Goliath. Two champions are
going to collide. Do not miss the biggest heavyweight title
fight of this generation. Deontay Wilder forty and oh thirty
nine knockouts versus Tyson Fury Saturday nine Eastern, Live on
(39:27):
pay per view. Tyson Fury is twenty seven and though
so neither one of these guys has tasted defeat, but
one of them is almost certain too on Saturday and
Rob I will be front and center for that fight.
I can't wait. It's right here at the stable center
of Los Angeles. Oh yeah, everybody's juices will flowing. The
other day when we were downtown and we got as
(39:48):
gotten to a scuffle. I guess they've been doing that
just about everywhere they've been at. So I think Wilder
is gonna knock him out, though you think it's gonna
be a knockout, and we'll what will just do? Story
predicted he would not uh Wilder outing in the first round.
But Fury now, he told us he is one of
the hardest hitting heavy weights in the division. He's not.
(40:10):
But his rep is that he hits. His hands are
made of cotton, Is that right? Yeah? I mean he's
got nineteen knockouts, but he's as a finesse as a
mouse of a urinated on his hand. Not bad, not
bad about cotton, right right, right, He's a finesse fighter.
I mean, he's shifty, he's six nine. It's really odds
(40:33):
seeing a guy that big dude fight the way he does.
But he does have a little bit of skill, But
I just think Wilder. I don't think Wilder fears his power,
nor has to. I think he's gonna go in there
with guns place, and you gotta be careful. You know
that when you when you're going there trying for a knockout,
you can get knocked out. Yes, yes, you got he
Wilder will be open because he swings like you know
(40:54):
what I'm saying, he's big hooks. You know when his
style is a bit awkward. God, that's why God's good.
Knocked And even if the guy didn't hit that hard,
just get caught or you get caught on the right spot,
right right, All right, Well we're excited about that. I
think you should definitely tune in. It's the Eye Couple

We have gotten none other than Chuck d which I'm
(42:00):
I'm excited about. I'm very excited. Legendary rapper, lead lead
leader of the hip hop group Public Enemy and don't forget,
don't forget the height, don't forget the hight. We can't
wait to get him on talking. He's a big basketball
fan too, so we will hit him with some heavy topics.
Speaking of a heavy topic, we've been talking about Kareem Hunt.
(42:22):
That's really video tape game out Yeah on TMZ, him pushing,
shoving and kicking a young lady in a hotel and
both Robin, I think that the Kansas City Chiefs the
league too, but forget before the league. The Kansas City
Chiefs need to come down hard on Kareem Hunt. But
(42:44):
there also was a little bit of football played last night,
Yes a shocker, that's right. The Dallas Cowboys and the
New Orleans Saints. And I'm not gonna sit here and
glow because I didn't predict this. I didn't see any
chance of the Cowboys be eating the Saints thirteen to ten,
as they did. But I did say, Rob, if the
(43:06):
Cowboys played them tough, that's all. I was looking for.
A tough game, a hard fought game, a game that
was in the balance late, then I would it would
make me think differently about the Cowboys. I already liked
what I saw in these those three games they had won.
But I gotta be honest. I think they are legit,
and if they make the playoffs, and I think they
(43:28):
will because I think they'll win the NFC East, I
think they're gonna be dangerous. Now. I still think New
Orleans and the Rams are better, but I think the
Cowboys will be dangerous in the playoffs and the team
you do not want to see. That defense is truth,
the truth. Obviously they got the running game with Ezekiel
Elliott and Dak Prescott and Amari Cooper have made a
(43:50):
difference and so but thirteen points didn't change anything for me.
That's the defense. You're right, The defense is legit and
they'll be in a game. But to not score at
all in the second half at home in a game
that you were up with thirteen nothing that to have. Uh,
(44:11):
there's still some issues offense. They're not the perfect team.
I'm not saying that. I'm just saying why I don't
believe that there. No, I'm just I'm trying to tell
you why you gotta believe you you can't. What are
you talking about? I think there's one reason why you
don't believe it. No, because you pick the Eagle. No,
that's not it. That's not it. You'll never go back
on your pick. That's not I'm never gonna change my pick.
(44:31):
I'd rather be wrong. I'm not asking you to change.
I'm not a flip flop. I'm not a flip flopper,
dear Guy's nothing wrong. The guys in the business who
if you watch their show, uh, and depending on what
game or what week, what day it is, they start
out picking one team in the NBA Finals, and then
all of a sudden, Uh, somebody wins all lose the game,
(44:51):
they go to that team, and then the other team
wins a lose, they go to that team. That doesn't
make any sense if you making a pick all I'm
saying is I did pick the Eagles. I'm gonna stick
with the Eagles. I'm not buying the Cowboys totally. Did
they win a big game? Yes? Were the Saints kind
of out of rhythms? Sink it just was a weird
day out of rhythm because the Cowboys put them out
(45:12):
of rhythm. And I also questioned when they went four
on fourth down, you remember early in the game. That
was just was like one of those things. I get it,
they've been scoring so many papers. No, I know, I
get it. He's the same guy who put it on
side kicking the Super Bowl. I get all that. But
I just to get shut out at home in the
second half by the Cowboys. I just I don't think
(45:34):
the favorite. I don't think they're gonna win a playoff game.
I'm not confused. Also, now you got them get in
there though, well, I mean they're during a good position.
After that, during a good position. Now. Yeah, and if
you have defense, I always say this, you always have
a chance to win. When you have defense, you do,
you have a chance to win. A very few teams
(45:56):
have legit defenses in the NFL today. Yeah, and the
Cowboys do. I mean the whole that team which was
averaging nearly thirty eight points a game to ten. Yeah,
but was it an off night? Was it? Uh? Was
it that it was an off night because Dallas made
it an off night? I mean seriously, Okay, did you
play once a week? I'm not saying you know, of
(46:17):
course you have off games and everything, but no, this
was regularly the worst game of Drew Brees's career, but
they had won ten in a row. Things they were done.
The one nobody believed that. And the other thing too
is uh, you know, I just wonder, like I don't
(46:37):
know what the what the numbers were in Vegas? You know,
did Vegas take a bath on this because they were
getting swarted again seven and a half. The Cowboys were
getting seven and a half, so a lot of people
might have just bet the Cowboys plus two points thinking
that it would be close. And I just have anybody
seeing anything from Vegas. Did they get up? Did they
did they take a bath on this game? Or or
did they win? Because everybody thought the Saints and bet
(47:00):
figuring seven and a half is nothing, they'll win by
two touchdowns, and people bet the Saints heavy because I
thought very seldom or as Vegas that off, do you
know what I mean? Like like they were off. Well yeah,
but I don't. Just to me, this story is I
think the Cowboys are legit. And look, we all questioned
(47:21):
whether or not they had given up too much when
they gave up that first round pick for Amari Cooper,
but man, he has made a difference. They would not
have gotten a receiver in the first round who would
have made the type of difference he's made. I mean,
the running game is much better. The other receivers are
playing much better. Dak Prescott is paying playing much better.
(47:45):
This kid Gallup, Michael Gallup has emerged kind of since
Cooper got there because there's less attention on him, Like
that's what a good receiver can do. And look with
Dak Prescott. So so it was a bad So it
was a path Okay, no, no, they pushing. The money
was on the Saints. So actually they the casinos made out, right,
(48:09):
they made out because everybody bet the Saints and people
didn't believe in the Cowboys. So so a couple of
people did stay. I mean, who wouldn't bet the Saints,
you know what I mean? No, no, no, that looked
like it looked like a layup, and I felt, Look,
but it's always in the NFL to just keep your
honest every so often, you know what I'm saying. I mean,
the Patriots have had had bad losses when they lost
(48:31):
to Detroit, when they went to Detroit. If this was
Detroit or Tennessee or somebody like that beating New New Orleans,
I wouldn't really think it was that big of a deal.
They were going to lose at some point, but I
don't think they took the Cowboys lightly for several reason.
Number One, DeMarcus Lawrence was running his mouth for the Cowboys,
(48:54):
so you know, a guy like Sean Payton, he wasn't
going to let that slide. Heck, Jerry Jones was running
in his mouth a little bit. And they're the Cowboys
every time you play them. When they're decent, it's a
big game. Heck, maybe even when they're bad, it's a
big game. And they have been playing well. They had
won three Heck, this is a team you might see
(49:16):
in the playoffs. So I don't think New Orleans took
it lightly. I buy. Again, I'm not saying Dallas is
better than them, but I do believe that this shows
that the Cowboys are for real, like what we've seen
on the last for weeks. I'm still not a fluke.
I'm still not there. And I know the defense is
good that'll keep them in games. I still don't running games.
(49:38):
I still don't believe in Dak Prescott. I just don't
so meaning what's that mean that that he could be
out classed in in a big games by another quarterback.
He's not no if if if he asked the throw
for No, he's not, but they have He's the type
(49:58):
of quarterback. He's a manager, but he's a playmaking manager.
I got that from Brian Know, our former colleague. He's
seeing yelling good name because I said he's a manager. Yeah,
he's a manager who can run the ball and make plays.
You saw that last night with the third and ten
in the fourth quarter could have been a sack with
(50:20):
most quarterbacks. Well to me though, and obviously sometimes when
when a quarterback gets sacked, it is on the quarterback
he's holding it too long. But also their offensive line
hasn't been what it was in the past. And Tyron Smith,
Tyron Smith is out three year league, remember his rookie years,
(50:42):
So he's doing this under pressure last night. He was
under pressure, as you said, at sack seven times, but
he still threw for almost two hundred and fifty yards,
out played Drew Brees. Now, you had brought up when
Patrick Mahons through five interceptions against the Rams along with
six touchdowns. You brought up that that essentially took him
(51:03):
out of the MVP race for you, does this? I
know Breeze isn't out of it, but how does breezes
performance last night impact your view of the MVP race.
I still think he's in the league, and I think
I would tend to agree, but I think you gotta
he's gotta be closer because I just think, well, that
was a bad game through for what one hundred and
(51:24):
twenty something y'allah. I know it was a bad game,
and there's a clunker in there. I get that, But
I still think he's on the best team. He's had
a really good he's got a really good year. I'm
just saying, got the same record. I say, why do
you put him ahead of my homes? Now, um, the turnovers,
the numbers are turnovers. I mean, I still gonna look
at that, and the touchdowns aren't that far apart, but
(51:46):
thirty seven. How mean's Breeze got? Howm as he got?
Now something? I think he had twenty five four? Yeah, yeah, yeah,
twenty nine going into the game. And look at the turnovers. Uh,
he's got ten. Mahomes has ten interception, right, but he
has seven touchdowns? Right? And what and has thirty touchdowns
(52:09):
and three? Yeah? You see what I'm saying. It's a
big number. Yeah. So I still think Breezes in the
lead despite his bad night. I would agree that he's
in the league. But I think the gap has closed.
It had to close after that. Um, Patrick Mahomes is
I think second. Uh. And then you can talk about
who you want to Andrew Luck or whoever. But I
(52:30):
think it was a convincing win by the Cowboys. I'm
sorry to tell you Rob that they are going to
win the NFC East. I'm not convinced that over yet.
I know you're not convinced. Inside you are, but you
gotta you got pride, So it's not about what I'm
gonna stick with my picks, and then we'll wait when
the season's over. If you're right, you're right, I'm right,
(52:51):
But you pick the Packers and right away, and and
they're they're not. I'm not afraid to admit when it's
run they're They're not a good team. I know, but
I'm just saying so I don't think I have to
just the Packers. Still. Yeah, they still gonna win the
Super Bow. I look like an idiot, no, but I'm
just saying, by when you when when they're officially eliminated,
are you saying Jacksonville is still gonna reach the super Bowl?
They eliminated three and eight, not mathematically. All right, Well,
(53:19):
they can run the chamber, all right. One thing is
I'm consistent. You are. I give you that. That's what
Oak Brand and a warm I'm objective water will do
every morning. You stay consistent, right, all right, it is
time to fight the powers that be. Hip hop legend

(56:39):
authentic mets at that Oscar wall. Yes, and Chuck, just
so you know, I'm Oscar. Yeah. Hey, Chuck, don't buy that.
Don't believe, don't believe the hype. Okay, Chuck, what's good
to hear you both. I follow you guys also on
the tube too, so well, thank you, thank you. I
was listening to some of your rees stuff earlier today
(57:01):
and you had a song it was talking. The hook
was like Lebron building schools, forty five building walls. Of course,
forty five is Donald Trump? Sell me? Like, what do
you think about all that Lebron's doing off the court,
all that he's done, you know, for people off the court.
How impressed are you buy that? Oh? I'm very impressed,
(57:24):
I tell you. When he first came in, I was skeptical,
not of him, but I was skeptical of the league
and all the other old heads around that was you know,
around that period when he came in, they was just
churning kids in and out out of high school and
not really developing that their minds, not really developing that,
you know, they're just that social demeanor because they was eighteen.
(57:47):
Now they get it, you know, the league gets it
that you just can't take somebody from twelfth grade and
make them a stall overnight. But back then, when they
finally accepted I guess the hip hop way of life,
I think that was like the ninety eight All to
Our game at the Garden. I think that's when David
Stern Game just said all right, I can't stop this,
so I guess we'll bring it in and it just
(58:08):
went the whole other direction, man where and these a
lot of the young guys came in and that time,
and they didn't know what to do. I mean, it's
really easy for a young person out of high school
to be green and not have no social not any
social training. You know, like when you're not a ball
player and you ain't got nobody looking at you, you
know you gotta work to get yours. But you walk
(58:31):
in a spot, you nineteen years old, and you know
you got you already got eight figures pen to your forehead,
and you got no social understanding on how to handle
all that coming at you, because all of a sudden,
you this celebrity and you're the easy one visible. So
they had no training for And so when Lebron came in,
I said, man, I hope they just kind of back
off of this kid and let him just, you know,
(58:53):
be a ball player instead of throwing him in the fire.
But he's the best I've seen to handle it, doctor
Jay told me. And he's the one that co signed it.
We was doing some BT awards and I think Lebron
was just about to be a rookie the next year.
When I was addressing my concerns with doctor Jay and
doctors pull Aside said Nah, this kid is different. Man,
this kid got it. And from that point on I was.
(59:15):
I was sold and been sold ever since. Hey, we
got some breaking news real quick. Chuck d uh Kareem
Hunt has been placed on the Commissioner's example list, so
he cannot practice, play games or ten or ten games
at all. He'll still get paid, as of course, there's
an investigation. But Ryan, did you see say, Ryan Tagliabu
(59:37):
don't know what to do? You know, he don't know
what to do? Man, you know you mean goodell? Well, hey,
but but did you sorry for that throwback miscus? Did
you see? People make people make miscus and music every
(59:58):
second and nobody says anything you make a one mistake
in sports, Oh yeah, you got the whole bar turning
you upside down. Right, that's the truth. Did you did
you see that video today, the Kareem hum video. Yeah,
I saw the clip. I try to stay away from it,
but you know, I mean it's everywhere it gets penned up.
I'm trying to go about my business and I'm seeing,
you know, some young people got a problem in the hallway.
(01:00:19):
Oh he happens to be a pro too. Oh yeah, right,
So that's the magnification. Man. It's like these things happen
every day, in every minute. But you know, once it's
magnified by people in the professional ranks. You know, you
got a story, and these news circuits and social media
they show no shame. It's a thin line between Johnny
(01:00:39):
want to have a blog today and the daily news.
I guess y'all see that. We talk about that all
the time because just because you have a blog, you're
not a journalist, and that's where the line has been blurred.
But I will say this, and I know we were
talking about all Lebron, James and Chuck d I know
you're the biggest Nick fan and all that. But I
think and Christna we've argued about this. I think Lebron
(01:01:02):
James ruined the NBA. And what I'm talking about is
the building of super teams, making all but two or
three teams really relevant. We already know the Warriors are
gonna win the championship barring two injuries or something like that,
and uh, they're going to the finals. What is this?
Five years in a row for the first team to
do this since the Celtics of the fifties and sixties.
(01:01:25):
Do you like this NBA fall for his last Hey, listen, guys,
I think Lebron Handler. They said the same thing about Wilt.
They said the same thing about Kareem when he came in. Oh,
he's ruined the league. It's making it look too easy.
We gotta see if we can enforce what they did today.
See Double A's on Kareem on lou Alfinder. So I mean,
I think Lebron he can handle it, and it's up
(01:01:47):
to everybody else to make sure that they don't get ruined.
He's all right, he's already et ston Stone. I think
today's NBA And I was discussing this earlier because you know,
I listened every day, like the Johnson and Termany over
on the other network, and they were talking about the
development of young players man, and I said, man, whatever
happened to you know, looking at a twenty four to
(01:02:09):
twenty seven year old being that this is a person
I want to watch and I want to see them
become a star instead of waiting for the eighteen nineteen
year old become a star overnight. And so as a
Nick fan, Man, I'm like, yo, we're looking at all
these mistakes. I mean, we got massive mistakes based on
just like they just deal in the headlights and being
(01:02:30):
somebody who's been I guess, I guess infamous and socially
known around the world. I see, no matter how old
somebody come in, I said, Man, it's gonna be three
to five years before they understand what they see. And
they deal in the headlights. I don't care if they're
the biggest name in music, the biggest name in sports.
They're hitting five hundred home runs in their first rookie year, Yo, Man,
(01:02:51):
they did in the headlights socially, and I just think
a lot of the young cats they don't see anything
until like twenty four to twenty five years old. So
it starts to become clear on who they are and
what they're about to do. And I think if you're
trained to do something but you don't know who you are,
you bound to have a problem. You're going to hit
(01:03:12):
the wall somewhere. And so the duel and this is
what it affects a lot of young people. It's like, yeah, okay,
you can learn how to do this trade, but you
also got to figure out who's going to be in
your life to help you find yourself. So you got
dual development that got to take place. And for the
longest period of time athletes didn't have it. It's like, yo,
it's all you could flip the game, we want you,
(01:03:35):
but how are you flipping your life? And being a
developed person. It don't come overnight. That's why in college
and says you got to at least go to school
four years. You can't get it overnight. You get four years,
then you're done. Then you figure out what you're gonna
get the master's and what you do, and then a doctorate,
and each year it gets harder and then you come
(01:03:55):
on out at eight years. But you know this, in anything,
you know, it's a elopment, a dual development. Situation, and
unfortunately when it comes down to the people of color,
when he used the word African Americans, I mean, I'll
just use black. That's black man. We got. They got
dual development situations that got to happen between sixteen and
(01:04:18):
twenty four. So I mean it's the eye couple of
Chris Bazar Rod Parker. We're on with Hip Hop Legend
Public Enemy front Man, Chuck d and Chuck Lebron. We
were talking about Lebron. You you obviously saw the Samsung
commercial where he had Welcome to the Terror Dome, one
of your hits playing in that. I know in his
Shut Up and Dribble documentary that you you made some
(01:04:41):
new music for that. How much do you have a
relationship with him or how do you know? How do
you think he You know, he was born in eighty four,
so how you you know how he got near music
and stuff? Nah? I think you know. I think I
heard a man I've never met him. Um. I think
he said his uncle's listening to pear, So that was understandable.
(01:05:02):
And I think when he was coming up, he was
in the jay Z Realm and all that. So that's
that's his era of liking you know music, and so
I've always been respectful. I think that one time, I
tell you that that BT party, he was sitting down
and I was looking at him on the other side
of the room, and I was kind of like saying,
(01:05:23):
I don't want to be another old dude up in
his face. So I kind of like, and I was
telling Stuart Scott at the time, late grade Stewart Scot,
I say, I want to go over and shake his hand,
but I don't want to be an old dude in
his face. Man, he's like eighteen years old. Everybody at
this party's thirty and up, so you know what I'm saying.
So it was more out of the respect of yo, man,
let the young man breathe, man and leave him alone.
(01:05:44):
And that's why I didn't go over to shake his hand,
because I was like, man, let the young man be
a young man. So that was that way, That's what
that was. So that was the closest I became to him,
and that was like, eons go, well, he's obviously a
big fan. Now you you're somewhat connected, like, because I'll
be honest, I feel like when I think of you
a lot of times, certainly with you in basketball. I
(01:06:05):
do think of Jordan, Michael Jordan, because you know Spike Lee.
You were obviously in a lot of made a lot
of music for Spike LEAs movies, him being Mars Blackman,
and you know his relationship with Jordan. I'm gonna ask you,
who do you think because everybody debates who's better Jordan
or Lebron, which one is the goat? What's your view
(01:06:27):
on that? Unbiased you, I'm not qualified like you guys.
I got I got my favorite I always liked my
ball players. If I have to say my favorite guys,
and they you know, and they wasn't necessarily superstars, guys
like Rick Mahony. Uh. You know Oakley Charles Barkley is
(01:06:50):
when it comes down to I knew what to say Oakley.
I knew it because I'll tell you Oakley was one
of the gods I like to watch play too. I'm
telling you that guy get hustled, but here at heart
he did. He can't. He tried to win. Dude every
time out there? All right, put it this way, Chuck,
give me your all time starting five, you know, like
(01:07:11):
being a fan, you know, like when I was growing up,
I had a starting five. I was a big Willis
Reid fan, so I'm never gonna leave Frasier Willis Reid
out ever, So then of course you got Caree. You
got you know later on Magic and Bird. I think
it's impossible for a person like me, I get all stupid,
but I tell you my favorites. When got me punching
(01:07:31):
the wall when I look at Isaac If you know,
I'm a Nick fan, but I love the bad boys,
and I love the way they played. I missed that
style of ball. I like today's style of ball a
little bit. But Kenny Smith told me this years ago.
He said, Man, the game is developing from a three
point line to three point line type game. And if
(01:07:52):
you don't have the shooters, and if you don't have
a coach that understand how to make their ball players
understand the whole court, the game will be unkind unwatchable.
So but you know, that's what it is, and we
got to make the best. Kitty Smith told me this
like twelve years ago. Yeah, so, I mean, I mean,
I hate to dodge the question. I like, you know,
(01:08:14):
cats that are able to go outside the game. Of course,
we Muhammed Ali, Jim Brown, you know, Roberto Clemente is
my hero. You know cats that actually said you know what,
I got this this this light on me, and you're
not going to stop me. I was eight years old
with John Carlos and Tommy Smith. We're watching the Olympics.
So I'm an old head that remembers that cats knew
(01:08:35):
that they got limited mic time and limited visual time,
and so when they got the mic, they said something.
And nobody was better than Muhammed Ali, of course, because
he praised a lie and also just talked about everything else.
And then he got to the point and Howard co
Sell would push him in the probably talking. So they
took the most out of their out of their prime time.
(01:08:56):
Now today with social media, everybody has a voice and
everybody's voices all over the place. Um, so you know
what Lebron James is doing today. Since his voice is
quite big, even in the world that has a lot
of voices, he's strong enough to say I could go
out of the box. He's confidence to say that y'all
(01:09:17):
can't do anything with me. And everybody's also saying, man,
it's a danger of the inmate running the asylum or
the slave ruling the plan. Right, I could say that,
and y'all can say it too. You know a lot
of white journalists and white folks, I guess on sports journalism,
they might get fired for saying something like that. And
(01:09:37):
we're in a touch you, We're in a touchy real
it's really crazy, man. So you know me, as a
call I could say it because I know the sentiment
and the heat and the radiation that comes through every
day when it's even not said. So this is a
sense of Hey, you know what, these guys are getting
too big for their britches. Hey, Chuck d we got
thirty seconds. Who are Nick's gonna sign this offseason? They
(01:09:59):
have money spend. The Brooklyn Nets have money to spend.
Who's your dreams? Your dream your dreams, even even if
it's two of them. Man, let me tell you, man,
we don't We don't succeed in New York picking the
obvious free agents because they've melt in the city. They
can't handle the city. The best way, we always got
to get some scrappy guy and a great draft pick,
(01:10:20):
and see if you got a coach that that could
manage that. About free agent picks, we could go all
the way back and say there's only been a few
that that's matched the city's intensity. I'll leave it at that. Yeah, yeah,
it's it's been a long run. Man. I give you
credit for still hanging in there with your knicks, because
year after year, decade after decade, they disappoint you. Man.
(01:10:42):
You know I mean, I mean, we just sit in
the seats and we watched TV. Man. You know, my
my pops that passed a couple of years ago. I
would not move to another team because I grew up
on the teams that that he watched and made me
why I feel what Chuck Man, We appreciate it. Thank
you for all the knowledge and I and when I
(01:11:03):
check you don't, don't act like you don't know me.
I'll catch you guys on the other side of the TV.
All right, Chuck, Thanks, Matt, appreciate it. More of the
Eye Couple coming out. But first let's bring in Dab
Carson for the latest in sports. Dab, Hey, guys, we
do have that breaking news you mentioned. Chiefs running back
Kareem Hunt has been placed on the Commissioner's exempt list
(01:11:23):
following the TMZ release of the video showing him shoving
and kicking a woman in a scuffle in a Cleveland
Hotel in February. The NFL says, quote the NFL's investigation,
which began in February, will include a review of the
new information that was made public today. End quote. Now,
just so everybody knows, a player placed on the Commissioner's
(01:11:44):
exempt list may, with the club's permission, be president at
the club's facility on a reasonable basis for meetings, individual workouts,
therapy and rehab, and other permitted non football activities. But
Hunt will, he will continue to be paid. He will
not count against the Chiefs fifty three man roster. So
do have some college football underway? Pack twelve Championship at
(01:12:07):
Levins Stadium, eight twenty to go first quarter. Utah and
Washington are still scoreless. Also, the three finalists for Maryland's
head coaching vacancy are the Terrapins interim coach Matt Canada,
Alabama offensive coordinator Mike Locksley, and Michigan quarterbacks coach Pep Hamilton.

then Rob Parker week days at seven pm Eastern four

cheese and say in the place and gifts under Christmas trees.
(01:13:31):
I did it better than run. I was very good.
That was actually DMC. I think my verse. All right,
It's the Eye Couple of Chris Brusar and Rob park
We were just in that hip hop mood, having just
talked with Chuck Dee and we enjoyed that. Yeah, that
was great. That was great, Rob. I know you've been
wanting to talk about Kevin durantealling Hell No, I give
(01:13:57):
it and I give it to and I actually think Rob.
Now he's scored over forty points in the last three
games on what is it forty one Rob g forty one,
forty nine and fifty one or something like that, forty four,
forty nine and fifty one. But last night he had
fifty one in a loss to Toronto, and it was
(01:14:18):
an epic one on one battle between k D and
Kawhi Leonard. It was great to see Rob because a
lot of times nowadays you don't get to see the
one on one battle like that, even if they played
the same position. Like Honestly, as much as I like Lebron,
you rarely see him in that type of one on
(01:14:39):
one I'm guarding you, you guarding me, We taking it
at each other. It was that was It was like
old school. It was great and he did even though
Kawhi one and that's all that really matters. K D
got the best of him. I mean it was close
because Kawhi did this thing too. Yeah, but KD guarded
him well and scored well. But I want to say this,
(01:14:59):
and then you want to weigh in. I think that
Steph and Draymond's injuries, they've both missed I don't know
what it is the last five six games. I think
that's actually been great for Kevin Durant, coming on the
heels of his incident with Draymonds. And don't forget they
lost the first three when that whole thing went down
(01:15:19):
and the bad everybody was like, oh, it's gonna come
apart in all this, and then they got off to
then they won four in a row, I think, right,
or something like that. So but but at three in
a row, I think, I think they lost three, and
then they won four in a round. Think and then
and then they lost last night. But but this is
I think you're right. I think the reason I think
it's been good though, is because I think it's given
(01:15:41):
Kevin Durant the space to really show, like to operate
and to show no, you do need me, because in
his mind he had I don't care who you are
when when your boy comes out, and like you know,
I mean, we don't even need you. We won without you.
That's got to hurt you inside. And I think this
was an opportunity for him to show n you do
(01:16:03):
need me, and even to convince himself that, Okay, everything's
back to normal. I got my game back because I
think the first few games when they were losing, it
bothered him. No, I think he was in a funk.
I don't. I don't doubt that at all. I thought
that that probably touched the nerve and uh, you know
how how he responded wasn't the best. But now he's
back to playing basketball. We both said this when that
(01:16:24):
thing went down. Dude, this is a long way from
the playoffs. That's gonna be in that rearview mirror because
he's just that kind of a ball player. He's just
that good. He's gonna get his regardless, and if he
gets his, they're going to win. Right, There's no doubt
in your mind if that if this had happened in
the playoffs or or right before the playoffs, then maybe
(01:16:46):
they could have been a problem because they could have
lost easily, lost the game, lost focus, lost the series,
and been knocked out or something. But I don't believe
that that's going to affect the Warrior's long term. And
you can see the numbers he's putting up. He's balling,
he's that good. The last five games robed now, they're
three and two in those five the last five, he's
averaged forty point six points, forty point six points, ten
(01:17:10):
point six rebounds, six point four assists, heck two blocks
for good measure, on fifty three percent shooting thirty seven
percent from three. I mean, he's doing it. And now
I know you and I have debated who's the best
player in the world right now, and I've stuck with
Lebron James, You're with Kevin Durant. Look at this point,
(01:17:34):
I'm like, it's open right now, Let's see. Let's see
because at some point it's gonna shift. Lebron's in his
sixteenth year. At some point he's not gonna be the
best player in the world. And I'm open to seeing
over you know, a long period of time this season,
if Kevin Durant's just playing better, then I'm gonna say
(01:17:54):
he's better. How about if Kevin Durant wins the MVP.
I'm just throwing this out. Whensy MVP he wins the
championship again, Finals MVP, it would be hard to deny. Yeah,
you know what I'm saying, because then that would be
three in a row he's beating not Lebron, but he's
he won three championships in a row, two against Lebron
and any one of the MVP. On top of it,
(01:18:16):
with Lebron being in the Western Conference, do you know
what I mean? Like all these different things, I think
it would be hard to deny. And depending on what
happened safter Lakers getting knocked out in the first round,
because they're in the bottom four and they gotta play
the Warriors or Houston or some other team and they're,
you know, on the road, they're the role team, I
think it would be hard to deny Kdnah, no question.
(01:18:36):
What would be interesting because you remember at the beginning
of this season, before he got hurt, Steph Curry was
not deferring like when KAD first got there. He was
deferring clearly, took a step back and let KD try
to get company. Right. Then this year, Steph just came
out and was Steph like the old Steph. Obviously, since
he's been out, KD has been doing his thing. It's
(01:18:58):
going to be interesting this see how they work at
that out. Does Steph come back out and like doing
what he was doing before or does he again go
back back seat again? To k D, it's it's really
gonna be interesting. But I agree with you. I think
I think the Draymond stuff is gonna be behind them.
It will be. It really will be. It's too far.
Like we always talk about this. I know a quarter
(01:19:20):
of the season is coming gone already, but we always
talk the season starts Christmas Day, right the NBA season
that's officially gets going chick off and everybody's watching the game,
and it's like, okay, where are we going. We're about
to start the new year, you know what I mean?
And the playoffs seem closer because right when they're starting
October was at October seventeenth, so early, just so hard,
(01:19:42):
and everybody's attention is there. And on Christmas Day, you know,
you probably know they played the Lakers. They play the Lakers,
and so that'll be Golden State. Where's that game? Uh?
It is that Golden State in Oakland. I would love
to to see Lebron and KD go at it like
(01:20:04):
KD and Kawhi went last night. Lebron won't because at
this stage, defensively, he's just not No. Lebron will say, hey,
Kyle Kuzma, well it'll be Ingram or somebody. Get over
the Lebron. Where are you at? Where are you at
on Lebron? Right now? You down on him? Now? I'm
not down on him. I just think the season it's
it's kind of a mixed bag. He's had a lot
(01:20:27):
of big nights. Ye last night he had to be
at thirty eight points. Right, No, the Lakers can't hold
a league. You know what I'm saying, Right, how many
games do they build a big league? And the other
teams come back without their eight s guys, without their
best player. That's the part where you just go. So
that's why I'm saying it's a mixed bag. And then yeah,
(01:20:48):
they beat up on some teams, But I'm not there yet.
I think I'm probably gonna need to mid season to
really see where the Lakers are, what kind of strides
Lebron has made, whether or not these guys is the
cast off and the kids or where they're adding up
to and if they really could play with Lebron. Well,
look at this point, Rob, I mean essentially everybody except Phoenix.
(01:21:12):
That's fourteen teams are in the hunt in the West,
I mean really, and Dallas is like much improved they are.
They've won some big games. Yeah, they want they want
eight of their last ten. They play the Lakers tonight
and so that's gonna be interesting. But the West Man,
it is no joke and it's gonna be exciting to see.
It's the Eye Couple. Chris and Rob. We will get
(01:21:35):
back into the Kareem Hunt situation. Fox Sports Radio. Keep
it locked. It is the Eye Couple. I'm Chris Bruce
Aard alongside my partner Rob Parker, and as always, we
are coming to you live from the Geico Fox Sports
Radio studios. Fifteen minutes could save you fifteen percent or
more in your car insurance. Make sure you visit Geico
(01:21:58):
dot com for a free rate quote. And the story
of the day, Rob, We've been covering it in every
hour is Kareem Hunt. And the video today air by
TMZ came out of him pushing, shoving, and kicking a
young lady in the hallway of a hotel in Cleveland, Ohio.
(01:22:21):
Now this happened in February. No charges were levied and
it was basically his word against her words. So there
was no video at that time that anybody had seen,
and so he didn't get punished or anything like that.
And now we got more. How we have the video
coming out, and now we're gonna get to the breaking news.
Our producer Rob g is going to read a statement
(01:22:44):
that the Kansas City Chiefs released about twenty five thirty
minutes ago. The Kansas City Chiefs. Here's the statement. Earlier
this year, we were made aware of an incident involving
running back Kareem Hunt. At the time, the National Football
League and law enforcement initiated investigations into the issue. As
part of our internal discussions with Kareem, several members of
our management team spoke directly to him. Kareem was not
(01:23:08):
truthful in those discussions. The video released today confirms that fact.
We are releasing Kareem immediately. Oh wow, wait a minute, wow.
So that's that's really breaking news because we were thinking
you were gonna read the statement that they during the commercial,
but this came during the commercial break. That's what, you
(01:23:31):
know what. I'm shocked, but I'm gonna applaud to Kansas
City Chiefs. I'm gonna applaud to Kansas only from this statement,
and I and I and I agree with him. They
asked him about it, he wasn't truthful, when now they're
referring to they asked him about it in February, and
(01:23:52):
are they saying today February? He said February that they investigated, okay,
so that they Chris. What they did is they said, okay,
they sat him down, and when he gave his side
of the story. Now when they see the video, they're saying,
none of what you told us is not true whatsoever,
and we're not going to tolerate that. Right and you know,
(01:24:13):
and you know, whatever he after what happened with the
world stands when they just picked up Ruben or claim
Ruben Foster off Waivers, Kareem is not gonna get picked up, No,
not now now. Maybe next year or something, but not now.
He is not. So this is what I said, Look,
this is what you were just saying. The ramapication shock.
(01:24:35):
I'm so shocked. And I gotta be honest. I started
the show saying I would suspend him for the rest
of the season, but I would not have released him.
Now again, I wasn't in the meetings with him interviewing
him and him lying on my faith, you know. But
what I saw, I was like, I wasn't gonna release him,
but this is I don't have a problem with this,
(01:24:55):
But this is because at some point it's about your
values in your company. It just is Chris and guys
like that. It's one thing to say, man, I got
into this, it was stupid, and you know whatever, whatever,
and but it's one thing to tell a story and
then Okay, we're gonna believe you. You told us, and
then you see the video and it's like, no, this
(01:25:17):
is nothing what you told us. And we put our
reputations and our name. We gave you a chance out there,
and you lie to us, and we will not tolerate this.
It sends shock waves not only through the Kansas City
chief locker room, but through the NFL. Don't tell me.
Guys are like, whoa right, he's out the league. I mean,
(01:25:40):
this dude was one of the He's a top five
running back in the league. Wow, they got a chance
to win the Super Bowl and they have released him.
Like I said, I applaud the Kansas City Chiefs. Some
things are more important than freaking sport. And now if
you imagine you're in the front office of the Redskins.
What are they what are they thinking? The ownership there?
(01:26:03):
And and and obviously I always say this whenever there's video,
it's a done deal, because you know it's not. He
said seven. When you see the video, you know that's happen.
Is because even a lot of people who were like, well,
you don't know what happened and with the wife and
the elevator with ray Rice, when they saw the video,
they change, dude, that that conversation didn't happen. Let's look
(01:26:25):
men out there, not just athletes, because this is men
in all f We talked about walks. What do we
talk about earlier? About the met too, and all the
big TV anchors, Matt Lowell, all the people who wound
up losing gigs too. Man. People don't mess around. Now, look, brothers,
change your behavior, period, change your behavior. They are coming
(01:26:46):
down on it, and rightly so Age seven, seven ninety
nine on Fox. How shocked are you? Do you applaud
the Kansas City chiefs? You think they went too far? Chris,
But you you know, I can say I did not
think they were releasing I thought he might get suspended
for the whole rest of the year. I thought that
that's what I would have done. Uh and maybe even
(01:27:07):
the playoffs as well. But they know, like we said,
kudos to the Kansas City Chiefs, and I love the
fact that this is gonna make dudes think now, think
about it and see, you know, this is the same
thing that happened to Ruben Foster. From the standpoint of
the Chiefs released him, put him on the put him
(01:27:30):
on up yeah yeah, and put him on the Commissioner
example list, and then the Rutskins picked him up. Yeah
you know what I mean. So, so they're not gonna
pick up Kareem Hunt. As much as much as they
want to, They're not picking I don't think anybody there's
nobody's gonna pick him up. Nobody's gonna pick him up
(01:27:51):
for the rest of the season at least, right And
and I'll be honest, I am not surprised at the due. Lie.
Let's just people. Most people forget men in that situation
where you don't think there's any video, right, right, You
don't think there's any video because because your boy, right yeah,
so you're like, oh, there's nothing out there. So I'm
(01:28:11):
gonna get away with most people. I'm not saying it's right.
It's not right, but most people put in that position
where you don't think there's any way they're gonna find out.
It's your word against her word. They're gonna lie. But
you got caught. And now it's a different day social media,
and that wasn't even social media. But I'm about to
just cameras. But I respect this from from the chiefs,
(01:28:34):
from this standpoint that we investigated it, We talked to
you about it, you know what I mean, Like they didn't.
They gave him the benefit of the doubt, right, Okay,
he said, she said there were no charges. So but
then they feel like we've been made a fool, love,
you know what I mean, Like that, we've been made
a fool love. We lie straight. And remember they're paying
(01:28:54):
you money. Right, It's not like I mean they're paying you.
They are. They are paying you millions of dollars. And
that's why they're thinking, you gotta be truthful. You know what,
because if he if he had been honest with them,
they probably at worst, we know rob, at worst, he
would have got a six game suspension. Do you remember
your I don't know if his career is in Jeopardy,
(01:29:15):
but maybe it is. Well, the next the next peep,
the next team after this kind of you know, plays
itself out will have to really sit down, talk to
him and feel like this guy's learned his lesson and
moved on. He's not an old guy's a young Guy's
got a long way to go. That's the big difference
(01:29:38):
was not Yeah, and it was easy for teams to
leave him alone. And again I said this earlier at
the top of the show. I'm not I don't believe
personally there's no room ever again for Kareem Hunt in
the league. But you gotta go through some classes, some
angry manage. We gotta be out for a while. You
(01:29:59):
got he rebel, rebelieve in you, you know what I mean,
like like they have to like really feel like you've
done something. I will say this, I was stunned when
rob g just read that because we had told us
the other thing about he surprises. Did you do that
on purpose? No? If you heard it here, I said,
I got more breaking news with that one. Let's hear
(01:30:19):
what people say. Let's go to Brandon and Phoenix. Brandon,
you're on with the Eye couple. Chris rob in college
and who's still on the chief I want to thank
you guys so much. That's my opinion is that is
similar to the Joe Mixon thing. Now, obviously Joe Mixon
(01:30:42):
was suspended for a year by Oklahoma, so he paid
his price, so to speak. I'm not I think that
it happened in the past. Obviously they talked about it
to him, They knew about it, and that's why I
think he's still in there. And I'm not saying that
because again, dudes can learn, dudes can change. We can't
have something where if a person makes a mistakes done wrong,
(01:31:03):
you can't be in the league or whatever. It can't
be like that. But maybe he was honest in for
four five and they brought into it. But see this,
this video probably slapped the Chiefs in the face, you
know what I mean, Like you said, when there's video it,
let's just it makes it look worse and it or
it you when you don't see it, you don't know, no,
(01:31:24):
because you could put in your own head, oh probably
he did this or whatever. You know, you can make
it in his case, he lied right. Hey Dan in
South Carolina, you're on the yard couple of Fox Sports
Radio what's up, Dan? You are you are in the playoffs?
And man, you do this? Man, I've got megaprop I
(01:31:45):
mean they're trying to win a Super Bowl, right, yeah, right,
and I think more so, I mean the acts is terrific.
Don't get me wrong. I think the line was kind
of the icing on the tape. Right. You know, it's
like wherever your kids do something, Yeah, you plan him
for the act more if they lie about it, right,
no doubt about it. Dan, Thanks for the call. Appreciate
(01:32:06):
it all right, Let's go to Manny n L Passo. Manny,
you're on with the odd couple guys. Good evening. Um.
I applaud the Kansas City chiefs. In today's world, there
is no place, at any time do you raise your
hand as a lady in any type of anger. And
they served the Winkel calls to the rest of the NFL.
I'm pretty sure right now, Ezekiel Eli, Holy No, absolutely,
(01:32:31):
and that is the purpose of discipline and punishment one
of them. Thanks for the calls, No doubt these dudes
have to learn. It seems like every month or so,
we're seeing something, whether you know, we see video, we're
not seeing video of stuff out there. Yeah, Hey Brian
and long Beach, you're on the odd couple Fox Sports Radio.
(01:32:52):
What's up, Brian? Hey, guys, thanks for taking my call.
No problem. I can tell you as a Chiefs fan,
you know, I think it's a great move for organization. Yeah.
I'm upset, you know, because I think it's this is
our this is a big year for us. I think
Spencer where is definitely a capable back to fill in
that spot. But let me ask you this, Let's reverse
the roles. You know, we are saying, let's hold all
(01:33:14):
these men accountable. You know, I'm not condoning what he did,
But why is it that we'd never say, you know,
why couldn't the woman turn the other cheek and just
walk away? She obviously wasn't wanted in the hotel room.
Why couldn't she just leave? What happens if if he
still comes out and says something to her, I'll say this, Rob,
(01:33:35):
there's never an excuse for a man to hit a woman.
To stop. Okay, but I hear you, But I do.
I hear what he's saying, and it's not it's not
even just women men. I'm not going to get all
up in Mike Tyson's face. Nah, and start calling him
all these names, and you know, acting bad because he
(01:33:56):
could knock my black off. But but that's not even
gender relation. I guess I understand what you're saying, but
I'm in that case. I'm I'm expecting him to be
the bigger person than I am when I lost my cool,
I'm just expecting you. You don't have to right to you.
You can't lose your cool. Here's the problem that I
have with the whole thing. He has his friends there,
(01:34:17):
they try numerous times. He was wrong. I mean there's
numerous time and he didn't even know the woman. Whether
they knew or not, that's got nothing to do with no.
But I'm just saying, like, but he just lost his gig,
and he would have lost, but he just lost his gig.
And my point is, you don't even know you're gonna
let somebody you don't even know. I just can't. I'm
(01:34:40):
trying to understand that is, even if he knew her,
you still can't get like that. No, I'm not saying that.
I'm just saying like, it's mind boggling that somebody could
come into your life for five minutes and you allow
and you allow them. Well, that's that's what I mean.
That's the arrogance. That's what that is. And when society
it is, you know, treating you a certain way for
(01:35:03):
many years, you get so arrogant that you think you
can do anything, and you get away with it over time.
And now the good news is that these dudes are
seeing you can't get away with it. So we will
continue this conversation with you after this break. Keep hitting
us up eight seven to seven ninety nine on Fox
eight seven, seven nine nine six sixty three sixty nine.
(01:35:25):
It's the eye couple of Chris Broussard and Rob Parker
and man Rob. I am excited because tomorrow night, I
will be front and center for the matchup between two
undefeated heavyweight champions. You cannot miss the biggest heavyweight title
(01:35:45):
fight of this generation. Deontay Wilder forty and old, thirty
nine knockouts. He has knocked out every man that's gotten
in the ring with him. He won, he faced twice,
decisioned him once, then knocked him out the next time
against Tyson Fury. Tyson Fury stands six ft nine inches tall,
two hundred and fifty seven pounds, and they're gonna get
(01:36:08):
it on because they don't get along. Saturday, nine pm Eastern,
Live on pay per View. All right, the big news
of the day. Wow, Kareem Hunt released by the Kansas
City Chiefs. And let me just before we get to
the calls, eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox, let
(01:36:30):
me just paint the picture of what this really means
Kareem Hunt. Those of you who are hardcore football fans
know how great he is as a running back, but
he is in his second year. He was on a
cost controlled contract. He wasn't even making a lot of
money because he's still in that rookie scale. He led
(01:36:52):
the league in rushing last year, fifth in the league
this year, arguably the best running back in the AFC
on arguably the best offense in the AFC, a team
that definitely has a chance to win its first Super Bowl,
and he has been cut. Released. We both were given
(01:37:14):
props to the Kansas City Chiefs only because some things
are way more important than winning a football game, even
winning a championship. And you know what they said, Hey,
we investigated this, we talked to him, and the video
does not match up with what Kareem Hunt told them.
After this incident in February and Cleveland, and that's why,
you know, you go into your employers and they asked
(01:37:36):
him about it, and they took his word on it,
and then they see this video. They were probably shocked
today when they saw it, like most people, and they
did the right thing, no question. Eight seven seven ninety nine.
On Fox. Let's start with George in La. You're on
the odd couple of Fox Sports Radio. Hey, what's up, guys. Yeah,
this is a damning video for a Kareem hunt, and
Kansas City did the right thing and they're definitely not
(01:37:58):
going to Super Bowl this year my opinion. But the
same is is the evidence now they could bring new
charges against him. Oh, no doubt about it. Yeah, there's
no doubt about it. Not a police have some video.
This is hotel video, surveillance video. Thanks George for the call.
All right, Dwayne in Orlando, you're on with Robbing Chris. Yes, guys,
(01:38:21):
I appreciate it you checking my call listen. Um, I
love you guys show, but I M gonna have to
disagree with you guys on praising the Kansas City for
releasing him, because it's obvious. And let me start by
saying this. You guys are too intelligent, brothers. And you
(01:38:43):
guys said from the start of your show, how did
TMZ get the video before the NFL, which the NFL
has more credentials, more money to do private investigations and
get information before tm Z. But now that TMZ released
(01:39:04):
a video, you're gonna play damage control. And now you
ye the NFL and the Chiefs. The NFL and the
Chiefs say, now, you're right, could they could because they say,
but they say they haven't seen it, and you're just specula.
You don't have any proof that they have seen it.
And to be honest, even if they had, even if
(01:39:25):
it's just public pressure that's making them do this, they're fine.
And and Dwayne, this is the other part. You seen
the video that's not acceptable. Whether whether who's got it,
who who released it, it doesn't matter. We see the video.
You don't have to play football. You could get a
job or do something else. You don't have to play exactly. Okay,
(01:39:49):
I under I respect what you just said, mister Robe,
but I want to bring up I want to bring
up another case. Okay, when they went after Dick Ellie
it after a year after his alleged um controversy with
the woman. They said when they set out the sixth
(01:40:10):
game suspension for him, Oh, they went and got hired
private investigators. They due diligence to investigate Zeke Elliott. And
this is why we're sticking by our six game suspension
right now. My personal opinion, I think the NFL and
the Kansas City Chiefs is playing damage shot like he
(01:40:35):
might be right, but I don't care. What what what?
What I am most concerned with is a message being
sent to men, not just football players, but men that
this type of behavior will no longer be time said
control earlier the show. Once you start making people pay
for for their misguided uh violence against women and actions.
(01:41:01):
Uh yes, there's a price to be paid, plain and simple.
Whether you can run the football or not, whether you
deliver mail, whether you whatever it is, this should be penalty.
John and Spokene, you're on the odd couple of Fox
Sports Radio. What's up? Hey, guys? Love the shows? Hey?
Thank you? Hey. I gotta say, you know, maybe Kareem
(01:41:23):
Hunt should have should have stayed at home and watched
the Golden Girls, right, That would have been a lot easier.
My man. Hey, you gotta say is that. I mean,
you love those old shows. Did you like matt Lock
and uh and Murder? She wrote, too, Murder she wrote
on like not Matlock Murder, she wrote, I did like
(01:41:44):
next thing? You know you're gonna brings? All right, Quincy,
all right, go ahead? What's your point? John? So just
gotta say. I mean, it's it's crazy. I know athletes
for years. Is this a microcosm of society? This goes
on forever? It's just crazy to I mean, if these
athletes can't adapt, not just their actions, but there's cameras everywhere,
(01:42:07):
I can't believe that they've got these honourages. No one's
really looking out for them, and what is going on
to put yourself in that situation? Well, you know, John,
I mean, he's fortunate that what I don't know if
that's an entourage whatever these guys were that were with
him in the hotel, like they were holding him back,
Like this could have been much worse. This could have
been a Ray Rice situation or something like that, where
(01:42:29):
you know, he's punching her and something like stuff like that.
So he's lucky those guys were there to hold him
back to the degree that they could. Yeah, absolutely agree.
With you there. That's true. I wonder how it started
and got to that point in the first place. But
I gotta say my real issue is my fantasy football team.
What am I gonna do without my running back? One? Well,
(01:42:50):
you better pick up that dude, Spencer wear. He's averaging
five and a half yards to carry. So all right,
we have a statement. Here's some I guess breaking news.
It's from Ian rap Purport, the great NFL insider. He
says he has a statement from Kareem Hunt, and Kareem
Hunt says, I want to apologize for my actions. I
deeply regret what I did. I hope to move on
(01:43:13):
from this. Look, and honestly, I think he means it.
I don't think. I don't know if he's sorry for
what he did to her, but he's sorry now. And look,
we have a saying in the church rib like, if
you we want you to do the right thing out
(01:43:34):
of your heart, out of the goodness of your heart,
right because you know it's the right thing and you
want to do right. But if you can't do it
for that reason, then we just want you to do it,
even if it's fear. You know, no, he might not
mean that he might hate this woman that he was
hitting and kicking, but as long as it his behavior
(01:43:54):
changes towards women in the fine even if his heart
has then that's fine. No, I agree with that. We
have we go to Lewis and Florida, Florida. Up, you're
on the odd couple of Fox Sports Radio. Hey, guys,
I have two points really quick. So the first one
is football related. The second one is society the related.
(01:44:15):
So finally a team is stepping up and this guy
has all the talent in the world, but they're saying, no,
you cannot run the UK, you cannot do whatever you're
still like doing without repercussions. He should sit out a year,
maybe even too. And now these guys are gonna start
to learn also that needs to be a better job
at doing as far as h the U work into
(01:44:39):
their past, whether it's in college, high school. And if
you have violent offenses like this, I promise you you're
gonna have team thing twice about Hey, I don't think
we should touch this. I don't think we should go
near this because who knows this is you know, a
powder kid. The second situation, the second thing I want
to bring up real quickly, involves society people as a whole.
(01:45:01):
She keeps their hands off of each other. Would I
ever put my house on a woman, Absolutely not. And
how he instead got women They safe things, they do things,
they attack men knowing their man would never hit her.
I will never hit her, but we're going need to
in general just keep their house to him. No doubt
about Lewis. Nobody should hit anybody. I got you. Thank you.
(01:45:23):
All right, We've got more in the Kareem Hunt situation
coming up, but first let's get the dab Carson for
the latest in sports. Dab dam what a story. It
has been quite the unveiling of information throughout the day. Obviously,
earlier today the video came out showing Kareem Hunt kicking
and hitting it this woman. She knocks her head on
(01:45:44):
the ground. We don't hear anything from the team for
a while. Then the Chiefs just dropped the bombshell just
before the top of the hour, issuing the following statements.
They are releasing Kareem Hunt and Rob Gara read it. Quote.
Earlier this year, we were made aware of an incident
involving running back Kareem Hunt. At that time, the National
Football League and law enforcement initiated investigations into the issue.
(01:46:05):
As part of our internal discussions with Kareem, several members
of our management team spoke directly to him. Kareem was
not truthful in those discussions. The video released today confirms
that fact. We are releasing Kareem effective immediately. End quote.
And Ian Rappaport of NFL Media just releasing a statement
from who he calls soon to be a former Chiefs
running back, Kareem Hut quote. I want to apologize for
(01:46:27):
my actions. I deeply regret what I did. I hope
to move on from this end quote. Meanwhile, we do
have a game going on right now in college football.
It is the Pac twelve Championship. Washington out to a
three nothing lead over Utah less than a minute ago
in the second quarter. NBA action it is a final
from Boston Celtics with one twenty eight ninety five win
(01:46:49):
over the Cavaliers Jazz one at the Hornet's one nineteen
one eleven, and the Pistons took down the Bulls one
oh seven eighty eight. Guys, Dad, what are your thoughts
on this now? Honestly, I was so stunned because it
feels to me like the NFL has done all of
the right steps as far, and you know, the pink
cleats and the pink gloves and all that during October's
(01:47:10):
Breast Cancer awareness, but none of the steps they had
taken toward domestic violence or violence toward women had shown
me that they cared about the rest of the women's
well being, you know, just that one particular issue. This
move by the Chiefs today, it stuns me. I'm I
am proud of them. I feel bad for this young
man only because it's a hard lesson to learn, but
(01:47:32):
it's one he'd better learn well. And most men must
learn well. Little boys hit women. Men walk away from
a confrontation with a woman. And I understand, a woman
gets in your face. You know, my former co host
Stephen A. Smith, we talked about this a lot. There
are women who will try to provoke a man. Guys,
you have to walk away. You cannot lay your hands
(01:47:55):
on a woman in a violent fashion. And let me
ask you this, I don't know Washington Redskins feel, now
you know what I mean? Like in light of this,
and they just got roasted. Of course, we're picking up
a Ruben Foster and now you know, you know, I
doubt anyone's going to touch Kareem Hunt, even though he's
on the common, not anytime soon. I think he's going
(01:48:16):
to have to do a whole lot of therapy, a
whole lot of anger management, and a whole lot of
you know, sitting on an Oprah couch if you will,
you know, talking about his experience. But but here's what
I'm sick of. You know, when there's a police report
that has acts of violence in it, or there are
reports of things, most people still write it off as oh,
it's just a he said, she said thing, and then
everybody feigns, oh my gosh, I can't believe it when
(01:48:38):
the pictures and the video comes out. People, you have
to believe. I'm not saying the victim is always telling
the truth or the alleged victim. But you have to
stop brushing it under the rug. You have to start
looking at things and not automatically taking one side or
the other. Domestic violence and violence in general, it's it's
a real thing, and we've got to stop laying hands
(01:48:59):
on each other. Doubt. Thank you so much to you.
You said dab you felt for Kareem Hunt. Uh. The
good news for him and this is he still young, ye,
twenty three years old, but he'll have Unlike Ray Rice
was at the end, he wasn't as good anymore, right,
Kareem Hunt could still be a good player obviously in
(01:49:19):
the NFL. And you know, just gotta get his ary
here after. Yeah, he'll, he'll, he should get another shot. Yeah.
And I don't feel for him and that he's having
to learn this lesson. I feel for him that he's
having to learn it in such a costly way. But
if that's what it takes to make changes, then that's
what it takes, all right, deb Well, thanks a lot,
You have a great weekend. Thank you you too. It's
(01:49:40):
the Eye couple of Chris Brussar, Rob Parker. We're coming
you live from the Geico Fox Sports Radio studios. It's
easy to save fifteen percent or more on your car
insurance with Geico. Go to Geico dot com or call
eight hundred nine four seven Auto. The only hard part
is figuring out which way is easier. And let's get
back to the phone line, lot, do you want to
(01:50:00):
weigh in eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox eight
seven seven ninety nine six sixty three six nine. Let's
start with John in Nevada. John, you're on with Chris
and Rob. Hello Rob, Chris, how are you doing, Bud?
I'm doing fine. It just with this Kareem Hunt issue. Now,
this is really huge on the NFL and sadly that
(01:50:22):
Kareem Hunt. It seems like, hey, I have to be
the sacrificial lamp to show that the NFL is serious
about domestic violence and violence against women. Yeah, no, you're right.
I mean a message had to be sent. Well, Chris
and I and thanks for it. Called John. We talked
about this off the top. Chris, you were like, he's
done for the season. You weren't like, well, no, no, no.
(01:50:43):
We saw the video and I don't think either of
us thought, well, well, Kansas City's gonna just keep him around.
They're trying to win a super Bowl. You can't watch
that video and think that that's okay. And I thought,
can't do it? Like two games would have been a
slap on the wrist. You said it right on me
back at this point, what they've played Elevin, it would
have been like a little break for him. No, you
(01:51:03):
would have come back stronger, more refreshed and not thought
anything of it and being able to go on doing
whatever you you know, he wouldn't have learned a lesson, no,
no doubt about it. Hey Scott in Indiana, you're on
the odd couple Fox Sports Radio. Hey guys, thanks Tate McCall,
no problem. I was gonna say, uh, let's pump the
right a little bit on given the Chiefs props for
(01:51:26):
cutting them because they also drafted Tyreek Hill after he,
you know, was the keys of doing the same thing.
So I think it's a huge difference if there's a
video involved, if you can actually see it with your
own eyes. No, Scott, correct, There is a difference when
people can see, no doubt, you can see for themselves
(01:51:47):
only from this damn point. That's it. You can't you
can't talk. You put your head like if I don't
see a video, I can say, well, I don't know
what happened, and that's exactly what you do. I don't.
I don't know what happened exactly is he said? He said.
But when there's video, there's no way that that you
could look at that and think that that's okay. The
video does make it difference. You're you're right. I mean
(01:52:09):
guys like Ezekiel Elliott and Tyreek Hill. They're fortunate there's
no video. I mean, they really aren't. That's what may
have happened. Ray Reich got two games until that video
was released out of the elevator. And with Tyreek Hill,
we will say this, look what he did. Obviously it
wasn't right, but he did it in college. It was
a few years before he was drafted, and they interviewed him,
(01:52:31):
talk to him and reconcig and the woman that reconciled,
and I think they're together. Yeah, and so I think, look,
nobody's sitting here. I don't know if some callers think that,
but nobody's sitting here saying Kareem Hunt should be banished
from the NFL. So if he does his rehabilitation therapy,
what that paid, you know, justice has served and pays
the price, loses his money whatever, then he should, you know,
(01:52:54):
be able to come back in the league at some
point if he goes. We saw Joe Mixon got into
the to the league. He's in the league. Pay the
price he was. He's been there for a year, right,
and he dropped in stock value. You know, he's another
talented running back. Yeah, let's go to Rob in New Hampshire.
Rob you know with the Eye couple, Yo, he stole
my thunder. I was gonna bring up first of all.
(01:53:17):
First of all, doing the right thing is when nobody's watching.
So the fact that Kareem Hunt comes out now it says,
I'm sorry, of course he saw because he got caught,
because he's right, no, no doubt about it. But you
know what, even if he's not in his heart, if
he learns his lessons and doesn't do it anymore, then hey,
we can live with that. Yeah, it's just it just
it just doesn't feel right now, you know, no, no,
(01:53:40):
no question with Kansas City, right, the guy so my thunder.
But you know they had the Javan Beltian situation and
you know this whole no more with the NFL. It's
like it's it's it's hollow because unless there's video, it
just it just keeps happening. And so when will the
NFL say, like, watching the time, we're not going to
(01:54:03):
allow that this guy should not be in the league.
So you don't think he should be You think he
should be banished for life. Well not for life. I mean,
you gotta you gotta address you gotta address the circumstance first.
Oh yeah, right, if so, so, if I so, if
I lose my license for d WY and or if
I have a pending case of d w Y, you
(01:54:23):
can't get your license back, right, you shouldn't exactly so,
so so why should this guy be able to go
work like he's been he's been, he's being better off
going to the Redskins to have a better team than
than the forty nine is. It's like it's like, all right, Peter,
(01:54:44):
squeeze more in Seattle. You're on with they couple, Chris
and Rob. Hey, you guys got a great show. Thank
you appreciate it? Yep. Two quick points. One, Uh, he's
a young guy. You know, we make mistakes when you're
when you're twenty three, that's still really young, you know.
And uh, I think another team should definitely give him
a chance. They gave him some harsh punishment. Next you
(01:55:06):
can point out next year, you mean, yeah, next year.
And second point, I wanted to make if Kansas City
could get real scarier they get. Oh, but he ain't
gonna play this ship. I don't know if they're gonna
have money for all that. But thanks, Pete, appreciate the
Paul All right, coming up next, come get this free money.
(01:55:28):
That's right, I'm killing it in the Pigs getting pickoff?
I am. I only speak for myself. I don't speak
for the Eye Couple. I gotta play in the catch.
I don't think I'm gonna stick around for the segment. Hey,

It's the Eye Couple, Chris Brussard and Rob Parker, and
(01:56:35):
we're gonna take a couple more calls, maybe one more
call before we get to the pigskin pick off. We
might as welcome into. Let's welcome in, Carlos from Texas. Carlos,
you're on the eye couple. Yeah, how's it going to
nice fellas show? Thank thank you boys. Good drive home
for me from work. Uh. Look, there's nothing in this
(01:56:56):
kind of situation with hunt At you know that's good
other than learning a lesson from it. But I don't
know if this you know, this young this young man's
too younger to have ever listened to the Big Track,
the ten Crack Commandments. But stuff like this always comes
to my mind as far as the Uh, you know,
(01:57:16):
you always gotta let your people around you hold your
stats for you, and in this case, you gotta surround
yourself with better people that are going to help, you know,
make better decisions in these kind of cases. Now that's
a good point. I Look, if you look at the video,
his boys or whoever that was with him, they were
trying to stop him. Now you are talking about in
(01:57:38):
NFL running back and maybe he was just too powerful
for him. But they tried. Maybe they could have tried harder.
But but that's a good should have never, should have
never gone to there. I mean, come on, I think
I've told you before. I had buddies growing up, and
they knew where I was trying to go on my
sports you know, sports writing, in sports casting career or whatever,
(01:57:58):
and they would be like, at I get buddy to
go get into some trouble. Yeah, and they would be like, Rob,
you can't come. And I got them. I'm cool. I
understand what that means because they didn't want them. They
didn't want me to be mess you know what I mean? Yeah,
and it can all right, It's time for the pigskin Pickoff.
You ready to retire? The odd couple is gonna make
(01:58:19):
you rich gambling corruption. It's their pig skin pickoff. Yes, sir,
does the pigskin pickoff? We do this every Friday at
this time where Chris and Rob go head to head
picking NFL games against the spread to help us you
make a little bit of money. Just don't follow Rob
Harker's picks. No, Hey, we don't need to talk about
last week. Let's move. No, do we talk about total?
(01:58:41):
I can't hear hello, hello, Hello, we don't have time.
Five two. Chris is still a winning record thirty one
in nineteen. Rob's slipping a little bit twenty two and
twenty eight, So just fade his men. You'll still make money.
What It works the same way, whether you go with
our picks or not. I still love you, all right.
(01:59:02):
We get started here. Week thirteen in the NFL, the
Rams minus ten road favorites in Detroit to take on
Rob Parker's Lions. Rob, who do you like? I'm going
to that game. I'll be at the game on Sunday
in Detroit, all right, enjoy That's a great place to
watch it. Yeah, four Field is grabbed. Ah, but I'm
going to take the Rams minus ten. Sorry about that. Yeah,
(01:59:24):
every time we both went with Detroit last week. Every
time I go with Detroit, I pay the price. So
I'm going with the Rams in this one. No love
for stat Padford. Game two the Browns Baker Mayfield, Rob
Parker's favorite player, traveling to Houston to take on the Texans.
Texans five and a half point home favorites, Chris, who
do you like? Look the Texans. I imagine this win
(01:59:45):
streak is gonna end at some point, but I don't
think it ends this weekend. I'm going with Houston. I
want to take after last night. I want to take
the Browns because you know, like you gotta win streak
going and eventually it's gonna come to it. But I
cannot go for Baker May No way, no how. I'm
(02:00:05):
going with the Texas. It is the picks can pick
off the odd couple of Fox Sports Radio Game number three,
the Minnesota Vikings traveling up to New England to take
on Tom Baty and the Patriots. Patriots five and a
half point home favorites, Rob Parker, who I'm going with
the Vikings to win in New England. Yeah, it's a
tough one, man. I'm very tempted to go with the Vikings,
(02:00:27):
but I'm gonna go with the pat Oh, it's that
time of year start, you know, really getting in their
playoff mode. I'm going with New England at home, New England. Now,
this is a big one here, guys. The Kareem hunt
Less Kansas City Chiefs fourteen and a half point road
favorites in Oakland against the Raiders. Chris, who you're picking
(02:00:49):
in this one? That is a heck of a spread.
But Oakland is horrendous and I actually it looked one
of the callers a couple of the callers said, spencer
Ware is shit. I mean, I know this didn't have
I hope it didn't have anything to do with the
Chiefs decision, but they do have a very capable backup.
I think those guys are gonna be extra motivated after
(02:01:10):
something like this happening. But I think they're gonna come
out like Gangbusters. I'm going with the Chiefs. I'm gonna
pick the Raiders plus fourteen and a half. Yeah, that's
my guy, Rob Parker. They lose my two touchdowns, but
I got the half, so there you go. Last, but
not the game of the week, the LA Chargers traveling
to Pittsburgh and take on the Steelers three and a
half point home favorites. Rob, who are you picking? I'm
(02:01:34):
going on with I'm going with the upset. I'm going
with the Chargers. Yeah, I'm going with the Steelers to
win the game, but a close one, so I think
the Chargers. I'll take them in the points. So you
got them in the point. Yeah, and that's the Bigs
can pick off. All right, it's the odd couple. Another
great week in the books. Make sure you go to iTunes,
