to do it after Dodger players had a opportunity to.

the second baseman, and they were unable to execute and

had elite pitching, especially the Dodgers and the Dodger you

Blue Jays and that's why they are the World Series chances.

had it, Bertie Freeman had it in Game three, and

So even though the Blue Jays, they listen, they can
make claim they have played the Dodgers. But the Dodgers

He is a Hall of Fame manager. Guaranteed he's going
in the Hall of Fame someday whenever he hangs it

also understand what's going on in the field. They don't
make certain changes during the postseason like they did. You

difference maker with his glove, and in Game seven he's
a difference maker with his glove and obviously with his bat.
They are able to see the game, watch the games.
They are students of the game and are able to
make changes. That's the any of this organization. They don't
they don't just hang on every analytic. They use information,

but they also use what's going on in the field
at the present time. And at the present time, they
Mizzo Ross was a guy for the job, and he
came up and proved him right in a big way.

and down that they were very close to this not happening,
and a lot of fingers would have been pointed at
a lot of people, and why the Dodgers struggled so much.

But here's the deal, Rob, You know, there's of all people,
if that was it, I was a fifth, we'd all
be drunk. If Ray Allen doesn't hit that shot, kye
Lean doesn't hit that shot, right, But the fact of
the matter is they did hit that shot. The fact
of the matter is Miguel ROAs did hit that long run,

was clutched defensively, and the Dodgers did enough to win

come in for a special package. We're like, well, if
he's hurt, why would you have a special package? And

the reason being is that the scuttle butt around the
team is that they are quietly benching Kyler Murray, that
they don't want anyone to know they're benching him because
if they move off in this offseason, they want his
trade value to be as high as fo that he's hurt,
that he can be recovered by the end of the season,
and that would be the end of the story.

to do it after Dodger players had a opportunity to.

bases loaded. How many times we see it base loaded
brow um out of the short stop, grown up on
the second baseman, and they were unable to execute and
get a run home. Fortunately, the Dodger able to find
a way to win Game seven. So I'm gonna give
credit to the to the pitching staff both sides. I'm
not gonna say both teams show. I think both teams
had elite pitching, especially the Dodgers and the Dodger you

were able to make that one play more than the
Blue Jays and that's why they are the World Series chances.

Well, the Blue Jays will never and Jerry, I get it,
the Dodgers at your team and I get all that,

the Dodgers in.

with old Tani on deck and don't even throw your
best pitch and you and you want to giving up
a game time home run.

six as a team to the Dodgers two oh three,
thirty four one score to the Dodgers twenty six, Blue
Jays seventy five hits to the Dodgers fifty three. So
I understand Rob what your take is, because they did

out hit and how really kind of play the Dodgers
most innings. And I'm gonna go to the era the
Blue Jays t e RA three twenty one Dodgers three
ninety five. Here's the thing and every facet. Yes, the
Blue Jays did outperform the Dodgers. But here's the thing, Brown,

You've talked about it all the time. The clutch gene
is real. The clutch gene is real. They go Ross
had it, Bertie Freeman had it in Game three, and
I obvious see Will Smith's had it with that go
ahead home run. And I'm not I mean, we gotta
give much love to them motive. How about him dominating

as a starter and then closed out the World Series.
So even though the Blue Jays, they listen, they can
make claim they have played the Dodgers. But the Dodgers
had that clutch gene. And you know this, You know
that you have to have that clutch gene in order
to win. Then just find the way to win.

And I'll say this too, uh And I know ya
Momoto MVP and and the three wins and that that's
real hard to do and closing it out in the
game seven. But I'll tell you Will Smith, nobody got
more clutch hits with run of the scoring positions, all right,
Jerry like like he got in game in game six,

he got the two out hit to get the first
run in. Then Mookie wound up hitting, you know, knocking
in the other two. But he got the first one.
He had a home run, he was on base, and
he kept getting those big outs and starting stuff with
two outs and nobody on will will Smith had a
tremendous World Series.

There's a reason why I call him America Catcher. I mean, seriously,
he continues to get big hit after big hit. That
go ahead home run proven to me the difference in
Game seven. And what about the job he did behind
the plate?

Talking about the Dodgers pictures. Guess is calling the pitches.
Will Smith, He's behind the plate. That's why he deserves
all the credit, all the praise. Will Smith is an
absolute difference maker. And he had an epic World series.

Hey, Jay, hare real quick for me because we just
talked about a lot of that and a lot of this.
So you know this man, because I've spent some years
with you on pre and posts and Dave Roberts gets
a lot of flack over the years, but the last
couple of postseasons, for the most part, he has pressed
all the right buntons, pulled all the right levers tell
me just where he is now and maybe even where
the organization feels he is as a manager.
Speaker 10 (28:49):
He is a Hall of Fame manager. Guaranteed he's going
in the Hall of Fame someday whenever he hangs it
up what he's done in the last fete postseasons. And
you know, the Dodgers kind of get knocked a little
bit for their analytics. Yes, say lot use analytics. Analytics
is information, but manager Dave Roberts, along with jam Brandon Gomes,
(29:12):
along with President Andrew Friedman, they take that information but
also understand what's going on in the field. They don't
make certain changes during the postseason like they did. You
know what, we're gonna start Migo Ross. Well, guess what
analytics says, don't start mego Ross. We're gonna start mentally
because it's our gut. He starts Game six, is a
(29:33):
difference maker with his glove, and in Game seven he's
a difference maker with his glove and obviously with his bat.
They are able to see the game, watch the games.
They are students of the game and are able to
make changes. That's the any of this organization. They don't
they don't just hang on every analytic. They use information,
(29:55):
but they also use what's going on in the field
at the present time. And at the present time, they
Mizzo Ross was a guy for the job, and he
came up and proved him right in a big way.

Well, let me say this, Jerry, and I agree with that. Okay,
he did. He came up.

That's like one a magical moment in your life that
you can never live. A game time home run in
the World Series. I mean, kids in every backyard you
dream of that or you you know what I mean, Jerry, Like,
I get that, But I want to say to you,
if he doesn't come through and all these moves and
all this stuff you talk about, this would have been
a billion dollar flop had the Dodgers lost, And then

the conversation would have been, why did Mooki only get
three or four hits in the World Series? Why did
Freddie Freeman not come through as he normally does. Like,
there's a lot of stuff you could look at up
and down that they were very close to this not happening,
and a lot of fingers would have been pointed at
a lot of people, and why the Dodgers struggled so much.

But here's the deal, Rob, You know, there's of all people,
if that was it, I was a fifth, we'd all
be drunk. If Ray Allen doesn't hit that shot, kye
Lean doesn't hit that shot, right, But the fact of
the matter is they did hit that shot. The fact
of the matter is Miguel ROAs did hit that long run,

was clutched defensively, and the Dodgers did enough to win
the World Series. So that's that's that's what's settling. Champions.
They trained a way to win. If Michael Jordan misses
that shot in Utah Game six, does they win a
sixth rate? We don't know. But he didn't miss that shot.
He didn't miss that shot. So that's the difference. Don't

Speculation is that Kyler Murray, who has been injured now
was supposed to be a one week injury, has suddenly
been out for multiple weeks, and mart mentioned it in
an update there that there was talk that he was questionable,
that even though he's not starting tonight, that he could
come in for a special package. We're like, well, if
he's hurt, why would you have a special package? And

the reason being is that the scuttle butt around the
team is that they are quietly benching Kyler Murray, that
they don't want anyone to know they're benching him because
if they move off in this offseason, they want his
trade value to be as high as fo that he's hurt,
that he can be recovered by the end of the season,
and that would be the end of the story.
