Speaker 2 (00:22):
You're listening to the Best of the Odd Couple.

Speaker 3 (00:28):
Fresh off a Daniel Jones performance, he threw three interceptions
and fumble three times, losing twice. The culture like, we've
seen enough, this is the guy. Moving forward, We're gonna
trade two future first round picks to get a defensive back,
former All pro slip a little bit recently, but very good. Nonetheless,

(00:52):
Sauce Gardner from the New York Jetropolitans.

Speaker 4 (00:55):
Sauce go into the cult. So does that mean that
Jets are going boneless wings? Now here we go?

Speaker 3 (01:03):
They're they were but naked wings. Sauce Gardner again to
the Colts. Colts City two first round picks. Back to
the Jets.

Speaker 4 (01:10):
All right, Carrie, is this on? That thing is on?
It's hot. It's hot, it's hot. Rob the Colts, what
are you doing? Are you crazy? My sugar?

Speaker 5 (01:24):
Though you're buying into Daniel Jones, you think you got
a chance to do something, win a Super Bowl or
make some run.

Speaker 4 (01:34):
Have you seen him against the good teams? I've seen
him against the bad teams. The good teams not so good.

Speaker 5 (01:43):
He's coming off of god awful three fumbles, three interceptions,
Danny Dimes?

Speaker 4 (01:52):
Are you kidding me? More like Danny Pennies.

Speaker 5 (01:56):
And if I had to touch his performance from Sunday,
I'd have to wash my hand.

Speaker 4 (02:02):
Daniel Jones is a.

Speaker 5 (02:04):
Three dollar bill, playing and simple. He will not get
you where you want. You're kidding yourself. You're mortgaging like
you got a chance to come out of the AFC
and you got some magical formula. Let's go and let's
load up, and we're going to buy into Daniel Jones.

(02:28):
You have to understand he was available for a reason. No,
you didn't look up as the Minnesota Vikings, who.

Speaker 4 (02:38):
Had an unbelievable year with sam.

Speaker 5 (02:40):
Ronald McDonald's and then the playoff game came right the
last game of the season against the Lions to win
the division, which makes a big difference between playing on
a playing a playoff game or or having to buy
and host in the next round.

Speaker 4 (02:58):
It's a huge game. What the bed?

Speaker 5 (03:01):
Then in the playoff game, what the bed? And they decided, okay,
you know what. Thanks and Daniel Jones.

Speaker 4 (03:11):
The best I can do.

Speaker 5 (03:14):
Is maybe maybe look at him and think, this is
what they did in Seattle when they grabbed uh, when
they went and they decided that they were gonna get
Gino's pizza, and they thought that that was gonna turn

(03:35):
their fortunes around. And guess what he played well his
first year. Look at him now, he was so great
they couldn't they moved on, made the trade, right and
look at where he is in Seattle in Las Vegas.
If you feel honestly like you have something going and

(03:57):
you want to load up, I understand the thinking, Yes
I do, But Carrie, I'm sorry. I'm not giving up
the future for Daniel Jones. When the two toughest teams
he played, he played awful against, and go look at
who they've beaten. That's why I have an issue with it.
You will not be playing bad teams in the postseason.

Speaker 4 (04:20):
Right, all right?

Speaker 6 (04:21):
If this was the rant when the season started and
they took and they took sauce and they did all
this before the season started, I'd agree with you. Right now,
the Colts are the number one team in AFC. They
haven't had any success in years they've tasted success. Daniel
Jones has been great except for this last week. I'm

(04:44):
going to side on the on the side of it
was an abberration last week.

Speaker 4 (04:50):
He's not gonna play like that. He's gonna play better.

Speaker 6 (04:52):
He has another MVP candidate in the backfield to take
some of the pressure off of Jonathan Taylor.

Speaker 4 (04:57):
If you're the Colts, this is the right move.

Speaker 6 (05:00):
You go out, you go get some players that can
come in and really get this thing rolling in the
direction you want. And specifically this year, there are no
top seeds in AFC that's a guaranteed to win the
championship this year and past years we knew the players
were this year, we have no idea. Right now, they're
number one in AFC. Daniel Jones is playing well, and

(05:22):
before the season started I thought he was I thought
he was gonna be a backup in Indianapolis in his
career is going to be over.

Speaker 4 (05:29):
The resurgence that he's had this year.

Speaker 6 (05:30):
The way he's played, the way he's looked sans last
week has just been remarkable. Rob, So I'm not with
you on this take. I think the Coats going out
to get a guy like Gardner to come in both
of that defense.

Speaker 5 (05:44):
They go to the AFC Championship carrier? Man, are they
I'm asking you, what are you mean?

Speaker 4 (05:48):
Are they? Are they going to the FC Championship game?
They have a good chance? What are you asking me?
I'm asking you? Are they going?

Speaker 2 (05:55):
They?

Speaker 5 (05:55):
Just you got Daniel Jones, you got the Jonathan Taylor right, and.

Speaker 4 (06:00):
You got you got Tyler Warren and you got Sauce Gardener?
Now right?

Speaker 5 (06:04):
Are they going to the AFC Championship Game the Colts? No,
that's yes.

Speaker 7 (06:09):
No.

Speaker 6 (06:10):
I can't answer that because I don't know. You're not
putting me on the spot and say yes there because
I don't know you because I don't know.

Speaker 4 (06:18):
Can't mean right now?

Speaker 5 (06:19):
What ki't means unable to you on the air, Rob Listen,
can't means unable to You are not pressing me to say.

Speaker 6 (06:26):
The Coasts are going to but right now making the
move or bringing in Sauce and giving away two first
round picks that don't mean nothing right now? Is the
move for the Coats to go out and try to
win this thing. So are they are their minds and
their hearts in the right place, Rob, Yes, I'm gonna
say that, but I'm gonna let you make the proclamation
that they're not going.

Speaker 4 (06:45):
So you're saying they're not going, and I'll give you this.
You ready, all right, let's go. When they played the
two best teams? What two best teams you're talking about?
They beat the Broncos, they beat the Charges? Who else
are you talking about?

Speaker 5 (06:56):
I'm talking about against the Rams and steal?

Speaker 6 (07:00):
Well the Rams wasn't his fall. They had a receiver
fumbled the ball in the end zone when I had
a chance to win. That's nice.

Speaker 5 (07:05):
We could do that all day if you want to
do that, I could give you every game and say
if that didn't happen, to have that didn't have so
if Marshawn Lynch would have got.

Speaker 4 (07:13):
The ball to goal lines, No, we could do that.
We could do that all the time. All right? What
you got?

Speaker 5 (07:20):
And the losses two touchdowns, five interceptions, and he had
three fumbles this past week. He was okay, it was
really really bad. And then Rob G, can you go
over to the teams that he's beaten, Like, I'm just
I don't go there.

Speaker 6 (07:36):
They beat the Chargers, they beat the Broncos, who are
two teams that are in the playoffs.

Speaker 4 (07:39):
Who else did they beat? When he loaded up? They
got all these numbers. He beat the Dolphins.

Speaker 3 (07:45):
Okay, beat the Broncos by one point.

Speaker 4 (07:48):
You mentioned that. Okay, be the Titans by three scorers.
There you go terrible. Beat the Raiders by thirty.

Speaker 3 (07:53):
Four, and go beat the Cardinals by four. It's the
Chargers by fourteen, by fourteen, and then beat the Titans
by twenty four.

Speaker 4 (08:04):
It's a mirage, Kerry. Listen to those teams. I know,
I hear.

Speaker 5 (08:08):
It's that is the worst of the worst. This is
where you lower yourself into being like, oh woll we're
good this year. No, you're not the Indianapolis Colts. You
deserve what you get from buying into Daniel Jones. You
know what, Daniel Jones gonna take you home dinner, maybe

(08:29):
a show, but it won't be the AFC Championship Game
eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox. Are you with
Kerry Rhodes? Are you buying into Daniel Jones?

Speaker 4 (08:40):
I'm not. He's ful gayzy. He's a three dollar bill.
And if I shook his hand.

Speaker 5 (08:45):
I'd have to check and see if I had all
five fingers.

Speaker 4 (08:48):
When I pulled back. I'm not buying any of it.
I've seen his career. He didn't just show up.

Speaker 5 (08:56):
He's got so much bad video and games.

Speaker 4 (09:00):
There's not enough space on the internet to take a
look at it. Hey, I agree with you. I'm to
this point. Yes, I agree with you. I agree.

Speaker 2 (09:07):

Speaker 5 (09:50):
So, Rob, g what's the latest out of Arizona. We
just got more news. This story is bouncing all over
the place.

Speaker 3 (09:57):
Yeah, this seems like the ultimate spin zone depending on
who you talk to.

Speaker 4 (10:00):
You I thought Bill O'Reilly was off TV.

Speaker 3 (10:02):
So uh, last night, of course, after the big win
for Arizona, Jonathan Gannon head coaches asked about Kyler murray
status because he was requestionable coming into the game, Like, hey,
when he's healthy, is he's your quarterbacks? Yep, everything's the
same when he's healthy.

Speaker 4 (10:14):
He's back. Yeah, So flash forward to today.

Speaker 3 (10:17):
Gannon does a local radio interview in Phoenix with Burns
and Gambo and in the interview he says if Kyler Murray,
even if Kyler Murray was healthy, he was going to
make the decision to go with Jacoby present to his quarterback.

Speaker 4 (10:30):
Great. About an hour later, he meets with the media,
Then he meets with the bat Riders.

Speaker 3 (10:34):
Or he says, well, yes, Jacoby presaid is starting this
week here in week ten because Kyler Murray is still
working on his health. And uh, from then, you know,
we'll see what happens. So no commitment either way. Then
about an hour after that, Adam Schefter so apparently somebody
in the Carls organization yet cal Sif said let's send
let's send him a text, let's send him a call whatever. So,

(10:56):
now the initial injury was supposed to be week to week.
You know, he's only questionable. I believe it will be
like a week or two. Adam Schefter now reporting, well,
you know, his initial injury was actually a four to
eight week injury, which gives them the which gives them
the out now to say, hey, if we're not saying
we're benching him but he's not ready, that he's not ready.

Speaker 4 (11:13):
Yes.

Speaker 3 (11:14):
So, and then on top of that, Mike Florio Pro
Football Talk said, you know, they kind of wanted to
trade him at the deadline. It was just too much
moving parts and you know, it's hard and all that stuff.
But it is quote likely that he will be dealting
this offseason regardless of what happens.

Speaker 5 (11:31):
I'm gonna say this, Carrie, if you want to move
off of him, fine, yeah, we're set that that's where
you're going. You No, I'm just I'm like seriously, like,
like stop, okay, because a guy, uh plays well for
a couple of You notice in the NFL there's plenty
of guys what was his name with the with the Dolphins, Fitzpatricks.

Speaker 4 (11:55):
Every time, right, every time he put him in for
a couple of games.

Speaker 5 (11:58):
Oh my god, magic f It's magic turn into a
pumpkin when they make him a starter?

Speaker 4 (12:04):
Right? Who do we always say with Philadelphia, who won
you a Super Bowl? Nick Foles? How many times did
they give him the starting job?

Speaker 5 (12:15):
Can't? Can't do it when it's time to be that guy.
It's easier to be right than starting, all right, and
being that guy with all the pressures are on you
and all this kind of stuff. And if they want
to move off of Colin, I have no issue with that.
But this is not if you're the coach and the
GM and this is your future or what you're doing here,

(12:39):
I don't understand it. Pun On Kyler Murray, no issue
with that if you really believe he's not that guy.

Speaker 4 (12:45):
But don't sell this as if this is where you're going.

Speaker 6 (12:49):
As my point, yeah, Rob, but they have to and
I'll tell you why they're they're on the short lease, Gannon.
His time can be up in there if they don't
hard to get some wins here, right, And so we're
just talking about in the interim right now. You're right, like,
if you want to punt on Kyler, then that's that's fine.
I'm talking about in this moment. Okay, win games.

Speaker 4 (13:10):
Okay, So right now, da Kobe Bissett gives them the
best chance.

Speaker 5 (13:14):
I okay, So now if he's playing, okay, you make
your move and they lose the next three or four games,
what do they look at you? I'm just saying sure,
as a coaching GM, now where are you?

Speaker 4 (13:23):
They're out of there?

Speaker 5 (13:24):
Okay, I'm just saying no that it's that simple, like
like this is what you're hit. You're pitching your He's
not even a top No, it was a fifth round pick.
He's a journeyman that you're better off with a Sam Darnold,
with a Danny Dimes. I'm dead seriously, like a fifth,

(13:47):
fifth round pick is now what you're hinging your wagon to.
I just don't. I don't see it. No, you're right,
I mean, and he's thirty two years old. There's no
future there n't. They don't have one.

Speaker 3 (14:02):
Now.

Speaker 4 (14:03):
By making this decision, what future do you have? You
have none?

Speaker 5 (14:08):
You're hitching your wagon to a thirty two year old quarterback.

Speaker 6 (14:12):
Yeah no, I know it's a no win, it's a
no win situation long term, but right now, the Cardinals
gotta win games or a Gannon's out of it, Well,
good luck.

Speaker 2 (14:21):
I'm just saying Fox Sports Radio has the best sports
talk lineup in the nation. Catch all of our shows
at Foxsports Radio dot com and within the iHeartRadio app

Speaker 4 (14:35):
Rob g.

Speaker 5 (14:37):
Ja Moran Like where his career he was supposed to?
Let's be honest, Like they was talking about face of
the league?

Speaker 4 (14:45):
Am I right? Like he was of that ILK? Oh
my god, look at this guy? How good he is?

Speaker 5 (14:50):
All the gun stuff and all this and now here
he is twenty six years old, Rob g And he
delivered to me a bombsh.

Speaker 4 (15:00):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (15:01):
So he was just Gott suspended by the team for
one game for contract detrimental And if you'll recall they
were up by like fifteen points at half against the Lakers.
Something happened during halftime because he came out of the
second half standing around, moping around, at no interest in
playing at all. The Lakers ended up coming back and
winning that game. After the game, reporters asked like, hey,

(15:21):
what happened there? Second half?

Speaker 2 (15:23):
Is is go?

Speaker 3 (15:23):
Ask the coaching staff? And then at one point they
was asked what could the team have done differently? In
the second half to prevent blowing that lead. He says,
according to them, probably don't play me. Honestly, that's basically
the message was. Afterwards, that's cool, So they suspend him.
He comes back last night, has eighteen to ten and
a loss to Detroit. After the game, the reporters asking
more questions, being very short, not really answering anything. At

(15:45):
one point, a reporter asked them, Hey, John, do you
feel like you still have your usual joy for the
game of basketball?

Speaker 4 (15:51):
No period? Carrie?

Speaker 5 (15:56):
You know, yeah, if I'm ownership GM, I gotta make
a trade, even if I have to take pennies on
the dollar. I can't a twenty six year old rob
g how much does he make forty million?

Speaker 2 (16:10):
Right?

Speaker 4 (16:10):
Roughly? Can you find out?

Speaker 5 (16:12):
But a twenty six year old in Memphis, Tennessee making
that kind of loop playing basketball and he's really good
at it. Yes, thirty nine point four are real close?
Thirty nine point four?

Speaker 4 (16:27):
Huh?

Speaker 5 (16:28):
And he looks you dead in the face and say
that he doesn't have joy in playing basketball. He can't
be on my team. I'm sorry. I don't think I'm
being harsh. You could be upset whatever to say that
you don't have joy to play basketball for a living
and wear an NBA uniform and all that. I think
you're I just think it's time to make a move. Yeah,

(16:49):
the joy part is squarely placed on him. He was
having joy, he was playing well, he was a high flyer,
his team was in the playoffs. He was making comments
a couple of years ago, we're good in the West.
Like we saw that joy and it was infectious, like
we all wanted him to do well. Yes, but the
joy losing, the joy part of it is self inflicted.

Speaker 4 (17:13):
The team didn't do anything to put.

Speaker 6 (17:15):
Himself in this situation with the stuff off off the court,
and now he's on the court.

Speaker 4 (17:20):
Even when he's playing. He can't stay healthy at this point,
and so there are reasons for him saying that. But
as the leader of the team, leader of a franchise,
you cannot make those comments and expect everything to be okay.

Speaker 5 (17:31):
I just don't know how I'm serious. Like, if I'm
on a team and this dude is saying he don't
have any joy playing, I'm following him.

Speaker 4 (17:39):
No, that's the point, Like he's the leader.

Speaker 6 (17:40):
You can't you cannot say that, and you cannot be
on the court doing what he did against the Lakers.

Speaker 4 (17:47):
That's powdered your nine year old. That's a kid moving
for him. You're a professional basketball player. Yeah, I agree
with you on now. I would trade him as well.

Speaker 6 (17:57):
But again, I don't even think the trade market is
hot right now for John Moran. I think a lot
of people are catching up to what we're talking about
right now. But there's somebody. There's always somebody, like people
I've heard forever. Oh, you can't trade James Harden's contract. Oh,
yes you can. You can't trade this guy, You can't.
Who's the guy I'm thinking about? Bradley Beal in Washington? Oh,

(18:19):
nobody will touch that. The Phoenix Suns touched it, right,
And now where is he? They traded him again, the Clippers.
So the idea that you can't move people or whatever.
And with John at least you know he's talented. Now
you're a GM or team, you're taking a big shot,
a big chance.

Speaker 5 (18:38):
Rob.

Speaker 6 (18:39):
I don't even it's crazy to say, but right now
he's twenty six and he's been injured so much. I
don't even know if he still has the same athletic
ability right now. And so for the decline, to be
that way for John Moran and not be as explosive
at the moment. He can't shoot. He's not a consistent
shooter yet. So like, as a team that want to
trade for him, I mean, what are you trading for

(18:59):
him for.

Speaker 5 (19:00):
You're trading that he's just very unhappy and not playing
up to the best of his ability. And you can
get it out of him, and we'll get it out
of him because he'll be happy to leave that place
that he feels like everybody's against him.

Speaker 6 (19:16):
Now now he's going to be at that place and
it's going to be something that goes and he's not
going to be happy again.

Speaker 5 (19:21):
I'm with you, And that's the chance you take if
you're a downtroden organization and got really nothing else cooking,
do you know what I mean? Like if you're I
don't know. I don't want to just be throwing off teams.
But there's some teams I'm just wis the Wizards.

Speaker 4 (19:41):
How about Brooklyn?

Speaker 5 (19:42):
Now with they don't have they have like a lot
of these young players, they don't have anybody Like seriously,
they don't even won a game yet, right, rob g
I they want a game?

Speaker 4 (19:49):
Yeah, so what you.

Speaker 3 (19:51):
Just question for you because you say you want to
trade Joamra and I get it right because he's been
suspended now a couple of times. Just a quick backstory.
You don't remember first suspended March twenty twenty three for
eight games for going on Instagram live flashing the gun,
and then he did it again and that's when he
got smitted for twenty five games. So he didn't really
learn his lesson at that point. And if you recall,
while he was suspended, he had free twelve all over
his social media, like, hey, I'm the victim here, all right.

(20:14):
That's one issue. The other issue something that Kerry talked about,
which is on the basketball court. When he first exploded
on the scene twenty twenty, he was at rim frequency
because at the rim high flying at dunking than everybody
was forty nine percent. This season, John Moran at rim
frequency twenty eight percent. So he does not attack the

(20:36):
rim like he used to do, right, And I'm not
I'm not disputing that you were right on the numbers.

Speaker 4 (20:40):
Well here's the here's the other problem. But I'm not.

Speaker 5 (20:42):
I'm not convinced that he's doing it because he can't
do it and he doesn't want to do well.

Speaker 3 (20:47):
Okay, so if that's true, that's fine. Okay, here's the
other thing he can't do. If he's not going to
attack the rim, then you better be able to shoot
fourteen percent from three rob? What's so Westbrooks like Daan that.

Speaker 4 (21:01):
I'm with you?

Speaker 3 (21:01):
One James is shooting better than fourteen percent from three
rib I'm not.

Speaker 5 (21:06):
I'm not disputing it, but you get my point. If
you want, if I.

Speaker 4 (21:10):
If you want to get butts in the seats.

Speaker 5 (21:12):
Right, and I'm saying yeah, and if you don't want
to do what you do best, right, so you kind
of shy away from that to kind of have a
downtrodden kind of game to punish the franchise. We're not
winning him. Okay, Well, I'm doing what I gotta do.
I'm just saying. You remember the famous Kobe shooting too
much against the Sons?

Speaker 4 (21:33):
You know that?

Speaker 5 (21:34):
And what did he do in that game to Late Greade?
He played hot potato, right. He basically was like, Okay,
you're complaining about me shooting, Okay, here you go so much, Parker,
you shoot or well whoever it was, it was right,
and it didn't That didn't turn out well, So I'm
just saying I'm not convinced that he can't play. Is

(21:55):
it Is it a risk. It's a huge risk for
any GM or any team or whatever, So I get it.
It's it's not that easy
