(01:34):
up in about twenty eight minutes Jim Bowden, the former
MLB GM and he works for the Athletic MLB Insider
Jim Bowden, who was the general manager of the Reds
when I was there.
Speaker 3 (01:45):
In town, so I know Jim.
Speaker 1 (01:47):
We'll talk some finishing touches on the World Series and
stuff that went on coming up. Also trash talking coming
up as well. Later in the hour. Your chance to
trash anyone anything in the world of sports will give
you third forty seconds and we will not not interrupt you.
But Rob g another Jets season with Jets are what
(02:08):
one and seven has come and gone already just a mess.
Starting from that, I think people got bought in. Remember
the first game where they rushed for nine hundred yards,
so they thought everything was okay against the Steelers and
then that was it. Ever after that the offense really
wasn't that good. Yeah, of course, justin fields they fooled around.
(02:31):
They finally got their first win. But Rob, g today they.
Speaker 3 (02:34):
Start to unload people.
Speaker 4 (02:36):
Yeah, when you're one and seven, wholesale changes are coming about,
of course, And the New York Jets, if you are
a fan, I don't know how you might feel, it
might feel conflicted, Be kind, Rob, because they just traded
away their two best players Sauce Gardner of course, a
couple of first round picks to the Colts. Talked about
now we're one and Quinn Williams, who is their best player? Yes,
(02:57):
to the Dallas Cowboys for a combination that the nets
them another first round pick. So the New York Jetropolitans
one in seven, unloading their two best players just so
that they can now have over the next two drafts,
five first round picks and two second round picks in
hopes of number one replacing those two all pros Saucegardner
(03:19):
Quinn Williams, more importantly, hopefully ideally finding their quarterback of
the future, two best guys out in hopes of maybe
potentially getting that franchise quarterback.
Speaker 3 (03:34):
And carry.
Speaker 1 (03:35):
I'm gonna say this, Oh, I just this is not
a I didn't buy any Justin Fields. I I just
didn't understand it like this is thirdeam in three years.
Everybody can't be wrong. And and but this what they're
doing here, and they gave them more money.
Speaker 3 (03:57):
What they give them? Robbed you two years?
Speaker 1 (03:59):
Why forty million guaranteed like like Daniel Jones, right, and
it's got maybe one year fourteen?
Speaker 3 (04:09):
Just think about that.
Speaker 1 (04:10):
They he only got he could only command one year fourteen.
And somehow the Jets gave Justin Fields. Am I right
on the numbers? Rob g two years for forty just
check it. I think that's what he got, like two
years for forty like based off of what Daniel Jones
got one year for fourteen million.
Speaker 3 (04:29):
With the Colts.
Speaker 1 (04:30):
Yeah, like seriously okay, but anyway, well the reason for
that because Daniel was coming to be a backup.
Speaker 3 (04:35):
Justin was going to be the starter.
Speaker 1 (04:36):
So if the number, if it was right what I'm saying,
even if you looked at I understand.
Speaker 3 (04:41):
Yeah, but the numbers for him to be just is.
Speaker 1 (04:46):
Like like one year show me, yes, twenty million, one
year show me and then we'll pick up the option.
Speaker 3 (04:53):
Do you know what I mean?
Speaker 1 (04:54):
Like I don't understand how he can command a two
year contract. Okay, here's my point anybody who argues and
says that they don't understand why quarterbacks win the MVP
all the time and why quarterbacks matter. This is the
perfect example. You don't have a quarterback, you can't win,
(05:17):
and you just got rid of your two best players.
You know why, because they're a non factor. If you
don't have a quarterback, they can't help Carry. They can't
help you if you don't have a quarterback. And so
I know people argue all the time about it, and
look at the teams that are out when the season
(05:39):
starts because they don't have a quarterback.
Speaker 3 (05:40):
They're out, am I.
Speaker 1 (05:41):
Right, Carry, They're out of the mix.
Speaker 3 (05:45):
You're not winning any I don't care how.
Speaker 1 (05:47):
Good your safety is, your fast rusher the Cowboys, seriously,
I mean, we just look at Cleveland and Miles Garrett, Right,
Miles Garrett's there cause and having right one of the
best ways did it? Can they win games? They can't win?
You can't win without a quarterback.
Speaker 3 (06:07):
Hello?
Speaker 5 (06:08):
Is this on.
Speaker 1 (06:11):
The Jets a couple of years ago everybody was written
and raving about their defense.
Speaker 3 (06:16):
All we need is want a quarterback.
Speaker 1 (06:21):
Okay, Aaron Rodgers thing when he got hurt on four
snaps that ruined you know, everything, and then he had
to come back and he wasn't right until probably at
the end of the year. Am I right, Well he
wasn't right, and now he's played much better A.
Speaker 6 (06:36):
Year later in Pittsburgh.
Speaker 1 (06:37):
Okay, gotta have a quarterback, and the Jets are desperate.
So now there this is why. So now they realize, Okay,
we're not gonna do anything this year, we don't have
our quarterback for the future. Right, they're convinced that they
have to be. You have to be convinced. Let's load
(07:00):
up and maybe we can get a court finally, you know,
get a franchise quarterback that won't wet the bed once
he comes to it and puts a Jet uniform on
that one day, there's going to be a quarterback that
comes there and can be a franchise because they've had
the worst luck in picking people.
Speaker 7 (07:17):
Yes, it's that part, right, But again we have also
seen and I know, even if it may be short lived.
Rob we've talked, You've talked about Geno having one year
when he left Sam Darnold is that he's had two
good years back to back outside of that Jets organization.
So I don't want to say they haven't picked a
quarterback that could be a winning quarterback in New York.
(07:38):
But what you're saying at the moment is one hundred
percent correct as far as them going all in having
these pickstock pile to get their guy, that's for sure.
But I also want to touch on the Jets, and
you talk about their defense and then being really good
a couple of years ago and all that. I never
thought they were the dominant defense even at that point.
So I also think you're right with it's saying even
(08:01):
having those good players and not having a quarterback, you're
not gonna win. But I also think those besides Quinn,
like Sauce Gardner has not been the guy that people
thought he was out there first year, right, so he
had the one all per year where I thought he
was really really, really like a great play. Right after that,
he hasn't been the same. So we talked about why
you pay players and why you give people money that
(08:23):
some people may not think they deserve it. You have
to pay somebody, and so he was one of the
faces of that franchise. So for them to be able
to get the Hall of two first round picks for
that guy.
Speaker 3 (08:36):
Unbelievable. So it's a hall, it's it's it's insane.
Speaker 6 (08:40):
They got more first round picks for him than Quinn Williams.
Speaker 7 (08:43):
And so the fact that they were able to make
that happen in stockpile these picks, they're definitely moving forward
with that in mind. But it also for me, it says,
it says that they're all in on Aaron Glenn in
this GM as well. They're going to give them a
couple of years to figure this out if they're going
this pick route. And that's another thing, in my opinion,
which happening right now. I got an issue what you got.
Speaker 3 (09:02):
I just got. I gotta. I'm not so sure about
the GM or the coach.
Speaker 7 (09:06):
I'm not, but you have to if you're gonna get
these players right now.
Speaker 1 (09:10):
I get it because you because you're because what you're
doing is, yes, you're stripping the team down, and then
you can't expect Aaron Glenn to win.
Speaker 3 (09:16):
So you give me, give them.
Speaker 1 (09:17):
An excuse, right, you give me an excuse, so the
fans can't really be mad at them. Well, they stripped
the team down. What do you want me to do?
We're gonna do this. We're gonna draft whatever they've they've
punted on obviously one and seven and and where they're
going and and obviously I don't I don't know what
they do with justin Fields, you know what I mean, Like,
(09:38):
maybe he's on the team next year, maybe they get
their quarterback in the draft or whatnot. Put but I
think the Jets situation is just this. You're talking to
a guy who grew up in New York, Okay, who
worked at Stride Right. I worked at Nickels foot Forms
at the Queens Center. Ma all, I would not work
(10:01):
on Sunday during football season. How many I was I
was sixteen seventeen telling the balls. No, I'm at them all.
You know you worked the weekend? Of course I told
a guy Sunday's off, Sunday. I don't work Sundays from
September through December.
Speaker 3 (10:18):
Be entitled. Since you were sixteen, think.
Speaker 1 (10:21):
About that, Think about when I think about to myself,
I'm like I had some balls, like really that I'm
gonna tell somebody I'm not working the weekends or a
football season. But that's how much I was into it.
I used to look at my mom in church get
a knock connect. We lived within walking distance ten minutes
(10:44):
to one, kickoff, you're out look over at her.
Speaker 3 (10:50):
I want to see I want kickoff.
Speaker 1 (10:51):
I don't want to come in in the first do
you know what I was that kid? No, I want kickoff,
I want the whole game. I don't want coming in
with ten minutes to go on the first quarter. So
I was all the way in, listen to every game
that wasn't on TV, on the radio, like all of that.
So I know the Jets history and it's bad, and
(11:16):
I'm just not convinced. I don't I don't know where
they're going here. Another I don't think when they hired
Aaron Glenn, considering like the players that we just talked
about that they just unloaded, who are talented players that
they thought that they were going to be punting, right
am I right?
Speaker 8 (11:34):
No?
Speaker 1 (11:35):
I yes, you're right. Not at this point, there's no
way they thought that. But it's the only thing to
do because you're not going anywhere.
Speaker 7 (11:43):
And there's some inside stuff with this story as well,
Rob as far as obviously Saws they just signed this year,
so you know they didn't have I guess the inclination
that they're going to make this trade at this point
in the season obviously, but with the Quinn Williams one though,
he was in turn asking to be gone. So this
is there's other layers to this story as well as No,
(12:05):
he's tired of losing. I mean, he's going to the Cowboys,
so I don't.
Speaker 3 (12:07):
Know if he's.
Speaker 7 (12:08):
Running away from losing yet. But it's a better situation
than the Jets, for sure.
Speaker 3 (12:12):
No doubt.
Speaker 1 (12:14):
Oh yeah, it's just it's it's so New York Jets
and not just I don't I don't even know every time.
I'm not mad at him today, you know what I mean,
like just the idea that they punted because I just
think that they realize we don't have anything going here.
Speaker 7 (12:33):
I mean, it's I think it's just a shock obviously
when you see big names like that get traded, because
I mean it's not just one, it was two, and
it was supposed to be the guys that were cornerstones
for that defense. So I can see why fans had
that initial shock at first, No doubt.
Speaker 1 (12:46):
All right, Uh, coming up, Kyler Murray could be a
dead man walking in the desert.
Speaker 3 (12:55):
We'll explain that next.
Speaker 1 (12:56):

It is the Odd Couple on a trash Talking Tuesday.
Coming up in about eight minutes. Jim Bowden, the former
MLBGM and the athletic MLBA inside of Jim bow And
joined us. For over forty years, tire rack dot Com

moist after that, oh after the read or maybe maybe.
Speaker 5 (14:31):
Not after game seven, that's for sure.
Speaker 3 (14:32):
I was not. No, I was.
Speaker 1 (14:36):
I had the baby oil ready to go, Oh my goodness,
and instead I had to wind up using maple saw.
Speaker 7 (14:41):
It was that bad, oh Ron, Yeah, yeah, my ears
need to be uh carries yeah yeah, yeah, that was
too much for me.
Speaker 1 (14:52):
Cm I no doubt. All right, So rob g what's
the latest. Out of hours, We just got more news.
This story's bouncing all over the place.
Speaker 4 (15:03):
Yeah, this seems like the ultimate spin zone, depending on
who you talk to.
Speaker 3 (15:07):
I thought Bill O'Reilly was off TV.
Speaker 4 (15:09):
So last night, of course, after the big win for Arizona,
Jonathan Gannon head coaches asked about Kyler murray status because
he was requestionable coming into the game, Like, hey, when
he's healthy, is he's your quarterbacks?
Speaker 6 (15:19):
Yep, everything's the same when he's healthy. He's back.
Speaker 3 (15:21):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (15:22):
So flash forward to today.
Speaker 4 (15:24):
Gannon does a local radio interview in Phoenix with Burns
and Gambo and in the interview, he says, if Kyler Murray,
even if Kyler Murray was healthy, he was gonna make
the decision to go with Jacoby present to his quarterback great.
About an hour later, he meets with the media.
Speaker 3 (15:39):
Then he meets with the Beat writers.
Speaker 4 (15:41):
Or he says, well, yes, Jacoby pres said, is starting
this week here in week ten because Kyler Murray is
still working on his health. And from then, you know,
we'll see what happens. So no commitment either way. Then
about an hour after that, Adam Schefter so apparently somebody
in the Carlos organization yet cal Shifter, Let's send send
(16:01):
him a text, let's send him a call.
Speaker 6 (16:02):
Whatever.
Speaker 4 (16:03):
So, now the initial injury was supposed to be week
to week, you know, it's only questionable.
Speaker 6 (16:07):
I believe it supposed to be like a week or two.
Speaker 4 (16:09):
Adam Schefter now reporting, well, you know his initial injury
was actually a four to eight week injury, which gives
them the which gives them the out now to say, hey,
if we're not saying we're benching him but he's not ready,
that he's not ready.
Speaker 3 (16:20):
Yes.
Speaker 4 (16:21):
So and then on top of that, Mike Florio Pro
Football Talk said, you know they kind of wanted to
trade him at the deadline. It was just too much
moving parts. And you know it's hard, the conr and
all that stuff. But it is quote likely that he
will be dealt this offseason regardless of what happens.
Speaker 3 (16:37):
To I'm gonna say this, Carrie.
Speaker 1 (16:40):
If you want to move off of him, fine, yeah,
we're set that that's where you're going.
Speaker 3 (16:45):
No, I'm just I'm like.
Speaker 1 (16:46):
Seriously, like like stop, okay, because a guy, uh plays
well for a couple of you notice in the NFL
there's plenty of guys what was his name with the
with the Dolphins up Patrick every time, right, every time
you put him in for a couple of games. Oh
my god, fits magic turn into a pumpkin when they
(17:09):
make him a starter?
Speaker 3 (17:11):
Right? Uh? Who do we always say with Philadelphia? Who
won you a Super Bowl? Nick Foles? How many times
did they give him the starting job?
Speaker 9 (17:22):
Can't?
Speaker 1 (17:23):
Can't do it when it's time to be that guy.
It's easier to be right than starting, all right and
being that guy with all the pressures on you and
all this kind of stuff. And if they want to
move off for Colin, I have no issue with that,
but this is not if you're the coach and the
GM and this is your future or what you're doing here.
(17:45):
I don't understand it. Pun on Kyler Murray. No issue
with that if you really believe he's not that guy.
But don't sell this as if this is where you're going.
Speaker 7 (17:56):
As my point, yeah, Rob, but they have to and
I'll tell you why they're they're on the short lease Gannon.
His time could be up in there if they don't
start to get some wins here, right, and so we're
just talking about in the interim right now, you're right, like,
if you're gonna punt on Kyler, then that's that's fine.
I'm talking about in this moment, Okay, to win games, Okay,
(18:17):
So right now, Zakobe Bissett gives him the best chance
if okay, so now if he's playing, okay, you make
your move and they lose the next three or four games,
what do they.
Speaker 3 (18:26):
Look at you? I'm just saying, as a coaching GM,
now where are you? They're out of there? Okay. I'm
just saying, no that it's that simple, like like this
is what you're hit.
Speaker 1 (18:35):
You're pitching your He's not even a top No, he
was a fifth round pick. He's a journeyman that you're
better off with a Sam Darnold, with a Danny Dimes.
I'm dead seriously, like a fifth, fifth round pick is
(18:56):
now what you're hinging your wagon to.
Speaker 3 (18:59):
I just don't. I don't see it. No, you're right,
I mean, and he's thirty two years old. There's no
future there.
Speaker 6 (19:06):
Rob, they won't have a future if they don't have one.
Speaker 1 (19:09):
Now, by making this decision, what future do you have?
You have none. You're hitching your wagon to a thirty
two year old quarterback.
Speaker 3 (19:19):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (19:19):
No, I know it's a no win it's a no
win situation long term, but right now, the Cardinals gotta
win games or a Gannon's out of it.
Speaker 3 (19:27):
Well, good luck. I'm just saying, all right.
Speaker 1 (19:31):
Coming up Jim Bowden the former general manager of course
in Major League Baseball and he works for the Athletic
MLB inside. Are we going to talk with him? Catch up,
clean up on some baseball stuff at post World Series.
But first let's get you caught up with Steve de Seger.
Speaker 2 (19:46):
Fox Sports Radio has the best sports talk lineup in
the nation. Catch all of our shows at foxsports radio
dot com and within the iHeartRadio app. Search FSR to
listen live.
Speaker 3 (19:58):
All right, Steve, thank you.
Speaker 1 (20:00):
If it is the odd couple on a trash Talking Tuesday,
you can start lining up for trash Talking Tuesday eight seven,
seven ninety nine on Fox eight seven seven nine nine
six sixty three sixty nine. Rob Parker carry Rhoads in
for Kelvin Washington and achs and pains can sneak in
during the holiday hustle and bustle. A leaf can help
(20:21):
you forget the pain and make happy memories instead. With
just one pill, a leaf provides up to twelve hours
of body pain.
Speaker 3 (20:29):
Relief so that you can keep moving. Use as directed.
Speaker 1 (20:32):
All right, let's welcome in Jim Bowden, the former MLB GM,
and of course he's with the Athletic MLB Insider and
on Twitter ex Jim Bowden GM.
Speaker 3 (20:45):
Jim, what's happening? Say hi to carry Rhoads.
Speaker 10 (20:48):
Rob carry. Are you happy Tuesday?
Speaker 11 (20:51):
Yes?
Speaker 3 (20:51):
I you doing great?
Speaker 1 (20:52):
To have you on a trash Talking Tuesday, and Jim,
let's get right to it. Did the Blue Jays choke
this World series down? Or did the Dodgers win it?
Because you know I believe the Blue Jays show.
Speaker 10 (21:06):
Yeah, the Dodgers won it.
Speaker 11 (21:08):
I mean they did.
Speaker 10 (21:09):
Dave Roberts out managed John Schneider in the World Series.
Dave Roberts was brilliant on his moves. I mean, putting
Andy Pots there for his arm and then he makes
the catch over at KYK was huge. Putting the go
Rojas in there the last couple of games obviously huge move.
And then just the way he handled the pitching staff.
You're sitting there in a Game seven a year ago,
(21:29):
he wins the World Series because with bullpen. This year,
he takes his starters, he puts them all in Game
seven and he gets another ring. Dave Roberts was brilliant.
He's a future Hall of Fame manager. He's already clinched that,
regardless of what happened the rest of his career. And
the stars were stars at Jim, wait a minute, and
they pitched. Now, I'm just telling you, look, wait.
Speaker 3 (21:51):
A minut, Jim Money, I want to I want to
get this. Okay, let's do this. So the stars were
the stars.
Speaker 1 (21:57):
The team batted two oh three, Freeman didn't hit Mookie, Betts,
didn't hit, Shohey had one game.
Speaker 10 (22:05):
I mean, you're not you're talking about the right stars.
Speaker 1 (22:07):
No, what I'm saying in that in that game, and
and Rojas is the right they put him in for
defensive purposes, not they to hole run in the ninth
inning to tie the game.
Speaker 10 (22:18):
Rob, You've been my friend since you wrote this right
newspaper a long time. But when I talk about stars,
you know, I talk about starting pitching stars. I talk
about the three hundred and twenty five million dollars Yoshinobo Yamamoto.
I talked about his three wins in the World Series.
I talk about Blake Snell.
Speaker 3 (22:36):
Blake who got Rob.
Speaker 10 (22:38):
Yeah, Freedman was brilliant. He didn't care that his whole
history is injury. He said, I just need him for October,
made eleven regular season starts. They won the World Series.
He went and got Tyler Glasnow this guy never pitched
twenty things in his life. He didn't care. He just
wanted him for October.
Speaker 12 (22:56):
He got him.
Speaker 3 (22:57):
But boy, Snell didn't pitch this well.
Speaker 13 (22:59):
Blake Snell didn't pitch well like Jim I get get
I get on paper, like the like the team they
put together that they batted two oh three.
Speaker 3 (23:10):
They were outscored.
Speaker 1 (23:12):
The Blue Jays left a million guys on Bay sixty six.
Speaker 3 (23:15):
Runners in in Game seven.
Speaker 10 (23:18):
That's not what happened. Yes, the Dodgers executed their pitcher.
They show that's what happened. When you execute your pitchers,
you leave mont Bass. Look, I respect Toronto. They were
the best team in the American League. They were They were.
Speaker 3 (23:32):
The best team in that World Series.
Speaker 10 (23:35):
They had elite contact, they had power, they were the
best defensive team in baseball. They battled to the end
with a team with eighty five percent of the talent
the Dodgers have. But the end of the day, no,
the best team won the World Series.
Speaker 14 (23:50):
That's it.
Speaker 10 (23:51):
Jim Over, by the way, they're their favorites to three pete.
If I'm Andrew Friedman and I'm Mark Walk, I'm gonna
go get Kyle Pucker and put him in right fielding.
You know what, you say, Diaz, and I'm gonna make
him close.
Speaker 12 (24:05):
Go ahead.
Speaker 10 (24:05):
You know what the roll the five hundred million doing
this and.
Speaker 14 (24:10):
Trophies, hey, and you.
Speaker 15 (24:12):
Know what, it's good because they were one nine place
hitter out away from it being a billion dollar bust
right in their face. So you go ahead and load up,
and you could barely beat the Blue Jays, and it
took like a ball being stuck in the in the
outfield underneath the fence for you to win.
Speaker 3 (24:32):
Like everything that they needed to happen happen for them.
Speaker 7 (24:35):
Look, damn, Jim Jam, I'm happy you're standing your ground.
Speaker 3 (24:39):
I'm happy you stand your ground, Jim.
Speaker 10 (24:40):
I love Rob a couple all that stuff, but I mean,
we gotta be realistic on what we're watching here, right,
because the Dodgers had weaknesses. I mean, Rob's not wrong
about that. I gotta watch kik Hernandez starting. I love kicking,
but he's an extra player, right. I love to get
ros He's an extra player.
Speaker 14 (24:58):
Right.
Speaker 10 (24:58):
It's okay. So you know it's right about the World
Series is whatever weakness you have, it shows up. Their
bullpen wasn't good enough. I get it. But they also
had injuries to Tanner, Scott and Kirbyates, a lot of
other people. But you know what's great is now Andrew
Friedman and Dave Roberts and Brandy Gomes can look at
what they didn't have in the World Series and they
got the next three months to fix it, to put
(25:18):
together one hundred and twelve win team for next year.
So that's what's gonna be fun. Let's put Tucker and
right move too to the left. Let's go get Edwin
Diaz the close for next year, Like this is just Scott.
Speaker 3 (25:29):
To a bigger contract? What about that?
Speaker 9 (25:32):
No?
Speaker 7 (25:32):
All right, we require require Now look Dan, Jim, Jim
on the lighter side, I'm gonna I'm gonna allow you
to get this out. Okay, a war season coming up, right,
And so obviously the fan favorite I think for the
AL MVP is cal Raley this year and obviously had
a great season. But is it a clear cut decision
that he's that guy or Aaron Judge Steele has a
(25:54):
chance to sneak in and win that award.
Speaker 10 (25:56):
Yeah, that's a great question, Kerry, And I'm glad you
hit the mute button on Rock. Here's here's the thing.
Here's the thing. So cal Raleigh I think is going
to win the MVP. I think, I think if you,
if you were, if you're in the analytics and the
metrics and the numbers, Judge probably does deserve it. I
get that argument. But look, this is not going to
(26:18):
be a computer that decides who wins it, right, It's
going to be human element. It's going to be the
Baseball writers that decide that. And I think what's significant
is you're talking about sixty home runs from a catcher
who sat there behind him. Play was involved in every
pitch the Mariners were in, right, every time he played,
He's in. He and the pitcher were in every game.
But he had more involvement in the game than anybody
(26:40):
than anybody else. He put down the right fingers, he
framed well, he stopped the running game. He had huge hits.
So I think cal Raley's going to win it. I
don't think it's a slam dunk. I think it's the
vote's going to be somewhat close, But I think Raleigh
is going to edge out Aaron Judge at the at
the end of.
Speaker 1 (26:57):
The day, Judge doesn't win MVP. And I'm dead serious, Jim,
you get ready for get ready for a track?
Speaker 10 (27:05):
Okay, but you think Shoulder would get five hundred million
and he got seven.
Speaker 3 (27:09):
I was wrong on that one, Jim, you were right.
But Jim, here's my issue, seriously, Aaron guy.
Speaker 1 (27:16):
Yeah, but but but in a league where if the
league average is two forty two, is that what it
is now, Jim?
Speaker 3 (27:23):
Right, like around two forty two?
Speaker 1 (27:25):
Aaron Judge bout a three thirty one with power, miss
ten or twelve games, only hit seven home runs less.
All of the other numbers are not even closed like
all the other numbers, Am I right?
Speaker 10 (27:38):
Right?
Speaker 3 (27:38):
Right?
Speaker 10 (27:39):
Facts?
Speaker 6 (27:39):
Yeah?
Speaker 10 (27:40):
So, I just I don't know how you Roy's gonna
win to the catcher, Roley's gonna win. But if you're
saying facts, I'm not gonna argue with any of it.
And I love him, and really, at the end of
the day, it should go this way, right, Rolly wins
MVP and Aaron Judge win the Hank Aaron Award for
the best offensive player. Right, That's really what it.
Speaker 3 (27:58):
Should It should be the other way around then, But but.
Speaker 10 (28:02):
I just Mariners aren't even in the postseason. It wasn't
for Raleigh, and we're and.
Speaker 3 (28:07):
Where would the Yankees be without Judge?
Speaker 1 (28:08):
You saw when he missed those ten games, the season
went sideways?
Speaker 10 (28:12):
Yeah, that is true, no doubts. A good argument be
Raleigh over Judge. Sorry about the Travesty's coming.
Speaker 1 (28:19):
All right, let's go here, uh, free agencies coming, give
us the two or three top who's going to get
the big bag, who's going to be the most sought after?
We're starting to see people opt out, and you know,
and and and they're going to be available.
Speaker 10 (28:33):
Yeah, so Kyle Tucker will be the number one free agent.
I mean, this is a guy hits thirty homers, steals
thirty bags, plus defender and right good arm, runs the
bases extremely well.
Speaker 3 (28:43):
So you get the big Yankees, you'll get.
Speaker 10 (28:45):
The biggest bag somewhere between four hundred and five hundred million.
Dodgers Yankee. That's fit for him. It would work, It
would work well with the Mets, Phillies and Giants. But
I think Dodgers and Yankees. Look colech Swarven and Pete Alonzo.
I love both of them. They're fortyzero runs, they play day,
they grind. They both should probably be d H's uh.
But they're gonna get bags. And pitching wise, you're gonna
(29:06):
get a Fromer Valdez, You're gonna get Ranger Suarez, Dylan
Ceesmi from Japan wanting to be another name. And then
and then, of course, my favorite free agent's Bobaschet absolutely
loved this dude. As long as that knee is healthy,
put him at second or third, will leave the league
in hitting the great makeup Alex Bregman the biggest stage
in October. He loves it. Uh, he opted out, so
(29:29):
he's ready to go as well. Cody bellingingered a great
year with the Yankees, and in fact he can play first, right, center,
or left certainly, and that's a good.
Speaker 1 (29:37):
And that's a good ballpark for Cody, right it is.
He played gay for them. Hey, I do want to
say this with Bowbashat. I don't know if a lot
of people know this. I know Jim knows this. I
just told Carry before he was named after bo Jackson. Dad,
yea with bo Jacks, Like like when he tells that story,
he said, I'm named after Bo Jackson, not a nickname
of anything, you know, like they call him bowl or
(29:58):
so you know that's my name.
Speaker 3 (30:00):
Yeah, that's a good story. That's Bob.
Speaker 12 (30:04):
I know.
Speaker 1 (30:05):
Hey, Jim, always a pleasure my man. Before we go, okay, oh,
here we go.
Speaker 10 (30:10):
I need to get Kerry's opinion on the Cowboys getting
Quinn Williams.
Speaker 7 (30:14):
Uh huh. Look, he's gonna be a good player for
them guys for a couple of years. I don't know
if he's a different difference maker for the defense though
they still need a pass rusher. To help him out
on the ed. So right, it's gonna be a good player. Tho,
it's a good pickup.
Speaker 10 (30:26):
Would you have made the trade? A few were the Cowboys.
That's why I need to know, Kerry.
Speaker 7 (30:29):
You had to cause you Jared Jared Jones put it
out there that he had this big free agent sign
and so if you didn't make that one, it was
going to be the lineback from Cincinnati.
Speaker 3 (30:37):
So then next to it. Yeah, they had to do it,
all right.
Speaker 10 (30:40):
And one last one before I go ask you about
the Lakers. It's been a lot of fun. No, Lebron
dontic sits out. They still win. I mean, tell me
about this Lakers team. It looks exciting. The rovia looks
really good.
Speaker 3 (30:52):
Yeah.
Speaker 10 (30:53):
Uh, they feel like they got a lot of energy.
They play hard. Getting your take on the Lakers, you
guys real quick.
Speaker 1 (30:58):
I think the West, I'm still not counting them. I
still think it's gonna be a rough ride. Yeah I'm
not because when Lebron comes back, things change and it
won't be the same.
Speaker 12 (31:09):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (31:10):
Okay, we saw Lebron and Luca get knocked out right
like you would think that they shouldn't be And I'm
not convinced.
Speaker 7 (31:17):
Saying, all right, this thame has a new energy. I
think they're good. I think that's I think they're gonna
be good. Did they get did they get a new code? Okay,
all right, I appreciate it. Thank you, buddy, Yes, all right, it's.

Speaker 14 (36:25):
Jay, Jerry Jones of the Alice Cowboys Because there's no
d in Dallas. You are three five and one, have
the worst defense in NFL history, just got embarrassed in
prime time at home versus a career backup. You should
be buying, not or you should be selling not buying.
(36:46):
Mediocre players stick to natural gas. Jerry Jones.
Speaker 2 (36:52):
Thinks my way in my way is terrible.
