No waiting on. You show up and then you got

They don't show up, they.

Speaker 2 (02:13):
Don't show up and all that, none at all, So
it'd be great. I'm looking forward to. Though, Yeah, don't
tell them to say what up? Kids? Tell him? I said,
go blue though you know I ain't trying to hear
they trying to hear that. Rob G.

Speaker 1 (02:25):
There was a troubling story, man, and it's not so much.

Speaker 2 (02:30):
I wouldn't call it a story. Rh it's reach the column.
It wasn't even column.

Speaker 5 (02:36):
You disrespected your fifty forty years of journalism.

Speaker 1 (02:39):
No, I guess you're right, because I don't even know.
I know CNN, and that company used to own Bleacher Report.
I guess to they turn turn Turner, Discovery Warner. I
don't know, because it's changed hands like a million times.
I don't know who owns it. And I know how
Bleacher Report started with just fans writing stuff and to

(03:01):
turn into a site or whatever. And I get all that,
But there was a column that was written Rob g
that just I couldn't explain it. I don't know what
it was.

Speaker 6 (03:13):
Now, are you talking about the Bleacher Report column about
Jake Paul fighting Anthony Joshua in December?

Speaker 4 (03:18):
Time?

Speaker 2 (03:18):
About that?

Speaker 5 (03:20):
That's for you, No, Joshua, Okay, No, but this one's
even more egregious than that one.

Speaker 2 (03:30):
Okay.

Speaker 6 (03:31):
On Tuesday, a Bleacher Report columnist will call him released
the list of what he believes is the top five
most overrated quarterbacks, which is not new everybody and stuff
like this, right, here's his five in order, number five,
Trevor Lawrence, number four, Dak Prescott, number three, Justin Herbert,
number two, Jordan Love and number one Lamar Jackson.

Speaker 1 (03:54):
You know what's funny in that list, only one guy
has won an MVP on multiple MVP.

Speaker 2 (04:01):
It's interesting you bring that up.

Speaker 6 (04:02):
Ron think about that because the columnst I'm not evenna
say his name.

Speaker 2 (04:06):
We don't give him the.

Speaker 6 (04:07):
Pub No, don't give him a pulse explained why he
has Lamar Jackson as number one, it's the most overrated
quarterback in the NFL. In his explanation, he mentions, of course,
the playoff history, which is fair, but he adds this
statement the Baltimore Ravens star has been a four time
Pro bowler, a three time All Pro for his inflated
regular season marks, but his two time MVP status is

(04:31):
borderline fraudulent. His credentials simply don't measure up to the
other legends who have won the award on numerous occasions.

Speaker 5 (04:41):
You know what makes me mad about this, and we
debated this that we're talking about it, because you know
what it's like. It's like when you go on Instagram
or Twitter or whatever your side of choice, app of choice,
and then they'll say something crazy like Michael Jackson was overrated,
right right, and you're like, because it makes you men
want to defend Michael Jackson or Michael Jordan. I ain't

(05:04):
saying he was a plumber, but he was mad or
something like that makes you want to jump in and
defend the person and rage bait and get you going.
So I'm not gonna really go that Rob, because we
know this is asonin and outrages Lamar Jackson is incredible.
You and I sit up here and talk about the stats.
Some of the best QBR not this season, not lasted
like ever. Some of the best is winning percentage. Okay,

(05:26):
is seven thirty seven. That's not a fake stat. That's
not if he hasn't played two years where it's like,
all right, only mad it come this? Like, bro, seven
years ish, that's a whole lot of winning. And there's
a reason why we're mad at his stats in the
playoffs because he's that great that we're like we all
you know, you expecting to win more.

Speaker 1 (05:43):
But also, and you can be mad at or whatever,
it's not a postseason award.

Speaker 5 (05:51):
It's a regular season award, regular season MVP, that's what
it is.

Speaker 2 (05:57):
You could be mad that he hadn't won a Super Bowl.

Speaker 1 (05:59):
Yeah, he hadn't performed at that kind of level yet
or whatever. I say it all the time. John Elway
didn't win until his last two years in the NFL.
He won his two Super Bowls at the very end.
I'm not saying that's going to be the case. Here,
I'm just saying that's not the reason that you can discount.

Speaker 5 (06:19):
Because what we have said about John Elway, he went
to super Bowls and lost. He's a loser, could win
the big One had he not won, had he not
won those two at the end.

Speaker 1 (06:27):
And on the flip side, we have people who will
will uh praise Damn Marino till the sun comes home,
and he went to the Super Bowl second year, never
went back again. You know Rob Woodson who he used
to be on the show. Yeah, what says he's the
greatest and he never won anything.

Speaker 5 (06:47):
And as that's not a crazy thought, I mean throwing
the football. A lot of people feel he's up there.
But but it's different criteria for different people. The reason
people get on Aaron.

Speaker 1 (06:56):
Rodgers because he only won one because of the time,
but ma Renal didn't win any you see what I'm saying,
And they can say, oh, well, he's the greatest, and
then you look at Tom Brady. Yeah, Tom Brady might
be the most accomplished, but if you talk to most
football players and talk about skill, arm strength, accuracy, tom
Brady doesn't rank in those That's why he didn't he

(07:17):
does he have three robb G three MVPs?

Speaker 2 (07:19):
You would think he'd have nine or ten, but he doesn't.
Same thing. Is it two or three?

Speaker 5 (07:26):
Well, look it might be, it might be three, but
I'm to your point, playing years, it might be, I think,
but to playing that many years, Yeah he played this
three Yeah, three MVPs in twenty.

Speaker 2 (07:36):
Twenty four years. How many years did he play?

Speaker 5 (07:39):
With seven Super Bowl titles? It's crazy? But here's the thing. So,
so with that being said, I think what makes it
more interesting is that this is something that like where
we've become as a society where once reputable publications.

Speaker 2 (07:53):
But most reputable ones are not on this.

Speaker 5 (07:57):
Here's what was back well, go ahead, there's a news
outlet out here in La Well that has been known.
What's the name of them, I'll say it ABC seven specifically.
There their social stuff, they were, you know, ABC seven
is a little bit more of the high brow, a
little bit more kind of straightforward news. And you can
tell on their socials that they were just like, you know,

(08:19):
what what's got folks? What gets folks riled up one.

Speaker 2 (08:24):
Way or the other.

Speaker 5 (08:25):
And they'll post something you'll see and it'll be like
oh my gosh, and it'll be the most rant. It'll
be in Kansas it had nothing to do with LA
and this is ABC here locally and have nothing to
do with anything. And you can tell it's because it'll
get people going right, and it'll be something that might
be stereotypical, like that's gonna rate, they're gonna beat you see,
that's what you do when you let those people or

(08:46):
that's what you do are all such a that's the
usual suspects. You get a lot of that because them
clicks go crazy, the comments go crazy, the engagement go crazy,
as opposed to saying.

Speaker 2 (08:55):
Here in La, you know a fireman put on a fire,
like oh whatever.

Speaker 5 (08:58):
Like but if they go find some crazy wild story
in Florida, some crazy wild story in Alabama, that's just where.

Speaker 2 (09:05):
Can I give you?

Speaker 1 (09:06):
Like like whoever the editor was who read this piece
or whatever could have said something like well. Across the
first one hundred starts of his career, Lamar Jackson has
led the highest scoring offense ever two eight hundred eighty
three points and owns the third most wins seventy three.

(09:26):
Like none of it, as I say to my students
all the time, and talking about this.

Speaker 2 (09:31):
Anybody can have an.

Speaker 1 (09:32):
Opinion, but based on what you have, it has to
be based on something in order for you to make
that case. And it just there's no case for us,
no overrated who would and then he has other like
it just doesn't even make any sense.

Speaker 5 (09:48):
And that's what I mean, Rob, what I'm saying blown
away that that would even make a game. But we're
in the era where people feel pressure to have engagement.

Speaker 2 (09:56):
Right, you can't just stand on quality.

Speaker 5 (09:58):
I can't just stand on the quality if people aren't
engaged to say, well, dangan it was quality.

Speaker 2 (10:03):
Yeah, well you want making it up.

Speaker 5 (10:04):
You know, you only got twenty thousand impressions this thing
over here from some random blogger. Dude got two hundred
and eighty five thousand impressions and eighty Yeah, but we
need advertisements.

Speaker 2 (10:16):
Yeah, but that's just that's just where we are. Rob,
g what you got? I got a question?

Speaker 6 (10:21):
And Rob, let me finish the question, because I don't
want it to sound negative. I'm not trying to be negative,
but there are certain topics that people think, well, Rob
is just saying something crazy. Rob's trying to get engagement whatever, right,
But what Rob Parker does have and we talk on
there off there about this. A thousand years of experience
at some of the biggest publications across the country, television, radio, print, everything.

(10:46):
His name is in big Marquee letters. You know exactly
who he is, You know exactly how he feels about
this topic. The person who wrote this in Bleacher Report
does not even have a Twitter account. The person who
wrote Bleachery is a free lamb, sir who has a
half done LinkedIn page and a muck rack account. I mean,
does Bleacher Report the fact that they did not have whoever,

(11:09):
your favorite coling whatever, Jeremy Fowler ESPN Right, if Jeremy
Fowler says this, even if you've disagree with the take,
there's some credibility because like, hey, he's covered the NFL
for a long time. I disagree with what, but something
that he's saying that I can latch onto.

Speaker 1 (11:28):
But in the case of that, he would even his
editor would make to say, you gotta give me you
know what I mean, It ain't it ain't enough just
to say that.

Speaker 5 (11:39):
You'd have to really make a case, like there's almost
court your honor. I believe this because this is the
boom the evidence shows Dad. Now and again we are
to your point, you're you can fudge numbers, right, because
you could.

Speaker 2 (11:52):
I'm making it up.

Speaker 5 (11:52):
You could find some number that Lamar Jackson and crunch time, third, fourth,
third and fourth quarters is only da da da da da. Okay,
Lee Sho found something that we can now have a
debate over, right, you found some numbers that I can say,
all right, But but to just be like he's overrated
to not a single human being thinks that, especially when
we're talking just strictly about the accomplishments of his career

(12:14):
and the conversations with just pis of fraud just postseason.
All right, maybe we can disagree with an agree, but
the idea that his career does far. He's had an
incredible career. It's actually laughable how good he has been.
Like you and I sit up here and talking about
it doesn't even look real. It's a video game. He'll
have like two hundred and sixty yards passing, three touchdowns,
rushing touchdown and eighty nine yards passes.

Speaker 2 (12:36):
Say you say it all the time. It makes it
look keas.

Speaker 5 (12:39):
It looks like it's embarrassing, Like he's like like he's
like he's playing ball in the backyard. It just looks
so easy for him, and that guy cannot be completed overrated.

Speaker 2 (12:49):
That is that that doesn't make any sense, all right?

Speaker 1 (12:52):
Eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox eight seven seven
six sixty three sixty nine. Sports media outlets have an
obligation to the fan to be better or can anyone
say whatever they want without repercussions? I mean that that's real,
cause it wouldn't fly when I even if I had

(13:13):
a strong take and I was writing a column for
the Detroit News or a free Price, there's an editor there. Rob,
this isn't strong enough, you know what I mean? Like
I need more what you're saying here. You just can't
write what Oh I got a column. I can write
whatever I want. No, it doesn't work like that. We'll
continue that conversation next with you. Eight seven seven ninety
nine on Fox, It is a worship Wednesday, Rob Parker

Speaker 5 (15:05):
MiB Clay Harbor on the way, former NFL tight end
NFL analysts. We'll talk to him about NFL headlines right now.
Basically we're asking just the rage bait, clickbait era.

Speaker 2 (15:16):
Are you in on it?

Speaker 5 (15:17):
Are you not somebody saying Lamar Jackson's overrated? Maybe we're
missing it out And he is eight seven seven ninety
nine on Fox.

Speaker 2 (15:26):
Who he got gene in Mississippi? Another guy from Mississippi?
Am I crookt Let the crookt Letter? Ask Jean couple fucks.

Speaker 7 (15:36):
I'm talking to y'all.

Speaker 8 (15:37):
This is about the third time to talk to you, firks.
Tell you I got to see Lamar play in Louisville
here in southern miss and they won on a It
was a bad rainy, wet weather day. But let me
tell you what he is matured as a quarterback.

Speaker 2 (15:52):
Yes he has, Yes, he has gene.

Speaker 8 (15:55):
And has always said that he is a running quarterback.

Speaker 9 (15:58):
And mind you, I.

Speaker 8 (16:01):
Played college ball in my day. But let me tell
you what what's so wonderful about him? He is matured
and he is. He is a great throwing quarterback as
well as his running quarterback. And when they say that
he's the most overrated, I laugh. I think he is
the most complete quarterback in the NFL. Go look at

(16:22):
the Ravens without him.

Speaker 2 (16:23):
Yes, Jean, yeah, the choir my man.

Speaker 8 (16:27):
I mean yeah, Lamar Jackson is is so awesome. I
mean he is my favorite quarterback. I love the Lamar Jackson's.
I love uh the Josh Allens and I love the
Patrick Mahome.

Speaker 2 (16:41):
I'm with you. Let me watch not want to watch them.

Speaker 8 (16:47):
He is the most c TV and I tell you what,
They're going to win that division now, and uh, Lamar
Jackson is.

Speaker 7 (16:56):
I'm gonna just tell you what.

Speaker 8 (16:58):
He's just He's phenomenal.

Speaker 2 (17:00):
We're with you, Dan, thank you for the Jane. Appreciate you, brother.

Speaker 1 (17:04):
How about showing in Tacoma, Tacoma, you're on the odd
couple of Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (17:09):
What's up, Sean, what's going on y'all? How you doing that?

Speaker 9 (17:13):
Hey?

Speaker 10 (17:13):
I'm all right, Hey, I can't even dignify that comment
about Lamar Man So I'm just leave leave that there.

Speaker 1 (17:19):
I think that's what that's why we won't mention this
guy's name Sean, because we're not going to give him that.

Speaker 10 (17:25):
I'm calling though, because of the idea about you know,
people with the takes and not having anything to support him.
So this is kind of spin off on that. I'm
watching the first take this morning, and the debate is
around the SEC and the number of teams that might
get in the playoffs, and your your typical advocates for
the SEC are arguing, well, this and that, this conference,

(17:47):
all this stuff. No one's acknowledging the fact that no
team from the SEC has even played in Natty in
the past two seasons.

Speaker 2 (17:54):
All right, but nobody's said it.

Speaker 10 (17:57):
Yeah, yeah, I'm like, I'm mentully screaming in my head
at steven A and Russo Tore, like.

Speaker 7 (18:02):
Hey, bring this up.

Speaker 10 (18:03):
Yeah, And I'm not hitting on SEC. I mean, for
a while they were that they had some of the
best teams in college for sure, but NIL has totally
changed things. And that's why you're seeing Indiana.

Speaker 2 (18:14):
You beat me to it at Indiana. Yep, right there
you go.

Speaker 1 (18:16):
If you got some money, you got a chance to
andre in Massachusetts, CA.

Speaker 2 (18:20):
You're on a odd couple of Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 11 (18:22):
What's up Dre, Hey, how you doing. Thanks for taking
a call.

Speaker 7 (18:26):
Listen.

Speaker 11 (18:27):
We do need sports media to be accountable once again. Listen,
bring back the sports reporters.

Speaker 1 (18:33):
Oh yeah, that was high brow with with columnists from
all over the country. People were thoughtful and had the
facts that cause, you know, Andre, this is one of
our pushbacks on the Player podcast, Like everybody gets on there.

Speaker 2 (18:46):
It's okay to have an opinion.

Speaker 1 (18:48):
I'm not against that, but when they allow people to
just say anything without any facts, like or the the
Amazon Prime when they're ripping Russell Wilson. It's okay to
point out Russell Wilson's flaws and talk about that, but
to have the stats and the facts wrong, that's where
you lose me.

Speaker 11 (19:07):
Right, everybody has the right to their own opinions. Everybody
does not have the right to their own facts, right
because you know you have you know, it's good that
we have more access, more opportunity to be a part
of the dialogue. Okay, but all things aren't equal. Are
things aren't the same, and so just because you have
these hot takes, I don't. I think we do need
to take a quick step back. The athlete, the fans,

(19:30):
everybody in general, and say that's not necessarily something that's verified,
that's not something that's iron glad that you can base
a serious opinion on. And so I do think we
need and it's just across the board journalism and people
that are going to go in and do the deep
guys to bring out relevant and new information. That's different
than just getting on your soapbox, okay and scouting out

(19:52):
you know, the the knee jerk reactions dos R.

Speaker 1 (19:56):
I appreciate you, brother. One more, Let's squeeze one more
on Dre and Michigan couple. Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (20:03):
What's up? Dright? Hey?

Speaker 9 (20:05):
What Fellas? You're good?

Speaker 2 (20:07):
How you?

Speaker 9 (20:08):
I'm good? I'm good. I'm good like I was telling
Rob Man so and Kevin was right about this man.
It's about engagement and unfortunately, that's where our society is
at right now. I remember reading an article of a
couple of months back, you know, actually last year, and
it was talking about how Stephen A. Smith's contract breathed
envy from colleagues and do you know who? They mentioned
you and Chris, No, they did not.

Speaker 4 (20:32):
Rob.

Speaker 9 (20:33):
You know what the crazy part is, you actually did
say what they said, you said, but they took it
totally out of contact. And I know because I listened
to that show. Put the part where you said, hey,
if we earned that, then I would say, hey, I
deserve that too. They just said, oh, Rob Parker says
he deserved that contract too, because what.

Speaker 2 (20:52):
We're saying, yes, no, but you know you heard the show.

Speaker 9 (20:56):
I heard the show, so I knew it was wrong.
But everybody's not going to.

Speaker 8 (20:59):
Do their research.

Speaker 2 (21:00):
And that's the part Dray hit on right there.

Speaker 5 (21:03):
I just had a friend of mine post the AI
story of an old ninety one year old lady.

Speaker 2 (21:08):
Who had to steal some medicine for her husband. Bad
da da da dad.

Speaker 5 (21:10):
They had a whole it, and I was like, nah,
let me fact check, especially being the news, I know
the fact check. Come to find out AI fake Da
da da da da. She's like, oh my bad, I
did that. Like that's just where we are right now.
Dre's point, nobody fact checks at Audimore. They just roll
with everything and you can get away with it.

Speaker 7 (21:26):
All right.

Speaker 5 (21:26):
Appreciate the call, Appreciate the conversation too, as always you
you guys, all right. Clay Harbor on the way, former
NFL tight end NFL analyst right now Mantilanos has got

Speaker 5 (21:47):
Former NFL tight end NFL analyst Clay Harps eighty two
on x SO give him a follow.

Speaker 2 (21:52):
What's up, Clay? What's happening?

Speaker 7 (21:54):
What's up? So you know I'm good right now? You know,
six to the last seven w's from my bears over here. Okay,
game against the Vikings this week, so we're ready to
go a little bit of revenge because they beat us
early in the season. So looking forward to this game,
seeing if the new and improved Caleb Williams can get
a W.

Speaker 2 (22:11):
Well, speaking of that, you know, I'm I'm not a
non believer.

Speaker 12 (22:15):
I'm a believer. And then I saw his toss. I'm
a believer and not a trace.

Speaker 2 (22:28):
Of doubt in my mind. I'm in mom with Caleb.
I'm a believer. I couldn't leave him if I tried.

Speaker 1 (22:40):
I don't know if you're as big of a believer
as I am, but man, I love what I'm seeing.

Speaker 2 (22:44):
Where are you, Clay? Tell me about the development of
Caleb Williams.

Speaker 13 (22:49):
What he hung up on my song? What we queue
at Alex Well, we get back on what.

Speaker 2 (23:02):
He's my favorite moment in my many are disconnected.

Speaker 5 (23:07):
What I am that man saying? Oh shoot, what is this?
It dropped the phone. I'm crying.

Speaker 2 (23:12):
He clicked off.

Speaker 5 (23:13):
Hey, let me tell you who is not a believer.
Clay Harbor is not a believer. No, Clay, what happened?
My My number one song was going?

Speaker 7 (23:25):
Man, I couldn't hear anything. I thought I lost you guys,
and I didn't realize we're doing a little jingle for
Caleb over here crying.

Speaker 2 (23:32):
Man, I'm a believer. That was the point of it anyway, Okay,
I just want you to know Clay. He's going to
drive home. He's gonna cry in the car. That's right.
I'm hurting now you heard him? Tell me one.

Speaker 1 (23:43):
That's right, my number one hit. Uh tell me tell
me about the progress by Caleb and he's been come
up big for the Bears week after week.

Speaker 7 (23:53):
It seems, Yeah, Caleb, Caleb is playing a lot better.
And obviously everybody sees the splash plays if you're watching
ESPN or the highlights and seeing him get out of
situations and throwing the ball. But he's twelveth right now
in EPA per drop back after starting the year the

(24:14):
first four games, I think like twenty fifth twenty six.
So he's steadily improving and he's playing effishing football from
the pocket. He's getting the ball out quicker. And his
sack toll has just went down from thirty eight sacks
through nine games last year to fourteen sacks this year
at three nine games, right, So a lot of that

(24:36):
is the offensive line. You got Joe Toney in there,
you bring in Drew Dallman, you got Darnell Wright playing
some good football. Jonah Jackson is a guy that's played
some really good football, But a lot of it has
to do with his pocket awareness. Like he's really good
about getting out of sticky situations. The guy's got eyes
in the back of his head. He's got that Spidey
sense so to speak. If you guys watched The Little

(24:57):
Spider Man growing up like I did, Yeah, get out
of the pocket, get away from sacks, so eliminating a
lot of those negative plays. And the other thing is
this guy is fourth in the NFL in snaps under
center and seventh in play Action passing. He was thirtieth
or thirty second in those two things last year, and

(25:18):
the whole discussion was Ben Johnson's not going to be
able to play Caleb Williams under center and in the
play action game. And now he's in the top ten,
top five in one, top ten in both so the
undercenter the play action. His skill obviously new worked off
in theive line, but his skills of getting out of
the sacks have really improved. And that's why he's improved

(25:39):
so much.

Speaker 5 (25:40):
I'm gonna let you guys, Yeah, you got the bromance
for Caleb going on, We got a whole song for
him and everything.

Speaker 2 (25:44):
I'm gonna switch to another team. You play for the Eagles.

Speaker 5 (25:47):
Not a great game with Look, so win is a win,
is a win against the Packers, but not a great game.
Both teams have actually come away mad at their selves,
the offense.

Speaker 2 (25:55):
Both teams mad to win. I just know say both.

Speaker 5 (25:57):
Teams literally have come out and talked about their offense
literally Jordan Love. But I'm saying all the offenses on
both sides haven't met at this.

Speaker 1 (26:04):
I'm about I would be mad if I lost the
game and my offensive.

Speaker 2 (26:07):
Coll saves have been mad at their all.

Speaker 5 (26:10):
No clues they did anyway, Claire, you know what I'm
talking about. Both teams are made one and one team.
Why are you mad at me that they met at themselves? Right?

Speaker 2 (26:18):
Don't said Clay Clay. The football sports is about winning
and lose.

Speaker 5 (26:23):
So like I was saying, Clay, do you know that
they're upset about their offenses and they're winning, but the
Eagles have they've been disappointed at their offer.

Speaker 2 (26:30):
What is what would you say? What would you like
to see them do better? Uh?

Speaker 5 (26:34):
To get it rolling as they start to wind down
the season. They want to roll in the best way
in the playoffs.

Speaker 7 (26:40):
Well, they needed they need to get safe from rolling, right.
They need to get him the ball. They need to
get them rolling. Obviously. A. J. Brown is not happy
already said if you have me in fantasy, dropped me.
But here's something you can't you know, you can't take away.
They're twenty five and five since the start.

Speaker 2 (26:56):
Of last night. Thank you, Oh my god.

Speaker 7 (26:58):
You win is a win is a win. And you
look at this defense. You know, sometimes the defense got
to do the thing. In the first half against Green
Bay zero points, three sacks, twenty passing yards allout, zero
five third down conversions, and it didn't get much better
for Green Bay. I love the signing of Jalen Phillips.
He had eight pressures, he had seven hurries at QB,

(27:21):
hit six tackle five. So this guy came in and
it made a difference right away. So I like the
fact that they are able to win even when their
offense isn't doing anything. I mean, there thirteen and fifteen
in their last fifteen games. Right they're eleven and five
since Nick Sirianni took over on the road. This team
can win at home, they can win on the road.

(27:42):
And Jalen Hurts. He's a guy that does what he
has to do to win. He might not put up
the gaudy numbers, but you can't. You can look at
the trend they win football games. I know the point
differential this year is only plus twenty five. You know
that puts them, you know, barely over five hundred if
you look at it statistically. But this team knows how

(28:03):
to win, and I do want to see him get
the ball to aj Brown Moore. They've been doing a
good job of getting into God, They've been doing a
good job of getting into Devonte Smith. You need to
get Saquon moving, You need to get a j in
the ball, and then I think things will start running.
But I still have a lot of faith in my
Eagles and think they can pull off a win against
the Lions this week. And I know a lot of

(28:24):
people are doubting that.

Speaker 2 (28:26):
I think they're I think team to beat.

Speaker 5 (28:28):
Yeah, and it has come from me, a Lions fan.
I think they scare me just because of all the numbers,
like it might be ugly, but they're hard to beat.

Speaker 1 (28:36):
So you know, I've said it, twenty five and five
in their last thirty I mean that that's no joke.
What about the Jags and Trevor Lawrence just just where's
this franchise a home dinner? I'm just saying, no.

Speaker 7 (28:49):
It's uh. I mean it's tough, man. They're the way
they lost that game.

Speaker 2 (28:55):
In the less time, that was that That was terrible.
That was a terrible finish.

Speaker 7 (29:00):
And you know, I've been one of these Trevor Lawrence
believers trying to say, hey, you know, it's the drops,
it's this, it's that, trying to give him the benefit
of the doubt.

Speaker 9 (29:09):
But when you.

Speaker 7 (29:10):
Really look at some of the numbers and look at
some of the games, like he's just not coming through
in big time plays, like even without the drops, even
without a lot of these situations to where you know
he doesn't have the best receiving core. Travis Hunter's out,
Brian Thomas Jor is out, Like he's got to be
better for that contract they're giving him. And obviously, you
know this week's not going to get much easier because

(29:32):
you're going up against one of the best defenses in
the league and the charters, I mean during a three
game winning streak twelve sacks, four takeaways, six and thirty
two one third down And I know Trevor is getting
pressured more or just as much as any quarterback in
the NFL. But Justin Herbert is also on that list.

Speaker 9 (29:50):
Ahead of them.

Speaker 7 (29:50):
They thirtieth ranked offensive line in the NFL. He's still
got twenty six hundred passing yards second in the NFL.
He's got three hundred and twenty four rushing yards for
a quarterback first, and twenty total touchdowns just tie for fourth.
So there is ways to win even when your offensive
line is a little bit sticky. And I think him
and Liam Cohen are still figuring it out. Big big

(30:10):
game this week, big game. So if they can pull
this one out, I think you can get back on track.
But they just don't seem like a team that knows
how to win in the end of the game. I
remember the first thing, Bill Belichick. I had a cup
of coffee with the Patriots, and the little Bill's a
little down and out right.

Speaker 2 (30:24):
Now, did you have a sweet roll or just a
cup of coffee?

Speaker 4 (30:28):
Uh?

Speaker 7 (30:29):
Just just a cup, man, Just a shot of espresso
over there.

Speaker 2 (30:32):
Eland He just a shot too, what a full on
coup quick shot a.

Speaker 7 (30:35):
Shot of espress tho six games, but hey, got to
play with the pass right first meeting, I'm sitting in
the front row waiting here with Bill Belichick. Dude, one
all these rings Tom Brady. First thing he says when
he comes in the room, I'm expecting this. That's so
tic speech, just just great. He was all right, Uh,
before you can learn how to win, you got to

(30:56):
first learn how not to lose. And that's what I
gotta say about the Jaguars. I mean, it's not it's
not hard. They keep finding ways to lose. So if
you just don't get beat beat yourselves, then they be
pretty good right now.

Speaker 5 (31:10):
Well, I mean listen, we've we've been giving the grace
to Trevor Lawrence for now three you know, three four years,
and it's time to actually show pay dividends. All right, Hey,
we appreciate it, Klay, Thank you man, Clay Harbor, Clay
Harves eighty two.

Speaker 2 (31:22):
Give him a follow.

Speaker 7 (31:22):

Well, we appreciate is your radio one in the background.

Speaker 9 (33:50):
I'm using my phone? How does that work? Now?

Speaker 4 (34:00):
Sounds forgot to turn down the radio.

Speaker 2 (34:03):
You know, we tell you. That's right.

Speaker 1 (34:04):
You got turned down the radio and Rob g just
turned them off now yet the radio one. We appreciate
you when you call and listen to your phone. You
don't need to listen to the radio.

Speaker 5 (34:13):
Yeah, they get excited and then, you know, not only
excited to talk to us, they get excited because they
want to hear themselves talk. So shout out to him.
At least he got through, right, He got to say
what up? Well, we appreciate the support. Got to say hello. Yeah. Anyway,
so if he calls back, he comes back. If he
does it, that's fine. Well looking at this game. By
the way, Jameis Winston is gonna be the probably gonna

(34:34):
be once he gets his named the starting quarterback for
the Giants. H Jameis Winston is the gift that keeps
on giving. Like people when he when he gave me
the four turnovers the game. Yes, and that's part of
the ride, that's part of the gift. That's like the
best thing. That's all when people are saying like, oh yeah,
five hundred yards, five touchdowns, five interceptions on the way, baby,

(34:54):
but just his comments and you know the way he
he's just he is hilarious.

Speaker 2 (34:58):
Dude.

Speaker 5 (34:58):
He's a great dude to have on your team. Not
a great defusion started for longer than about three four games.

Speaker 2 (35:04):
Get about. He's a great backup. You look at it.

Speaker 1 (35:06):
Sometimes he's having these big day and then all of
a sudden it comes five interceptions.

Speaker 2 (35:10):
Weird, Oh my.

Speaker 5 (35:11):
God, he just can't he can't dial it in. And
that's what makes it, Listen, That's what makes it hard, man.
That's why these starters, you know, and guys who have
long careers and who are good starters, even guys who
aren't necessarily great, but they're they're you know, they're quality,
like a Kirk Cousins, Like overall Kirk Cousins had a
really good career. You know, it's hard, man, because, like
we said, Jamie s Winzer will have this insane game
where you're like, man, he's got to start the rest

(35:31):
of season. Then he all of a sudden blows that.
But uh so he is gonna be looks like there's
quarterback one there. Folks are won, and that is that
a waste of snaps. You know you need to keep
Jackson Dart out there throughout this season.

Speaker 2 (35:43):
Well he's not. He's only playing because Dart is hurt. Hurt, right,
Dark and rob Z you've talked about this.

Speaker 1 (35:48):
I don't think they've said he's the quarterback for the
rest of the year.

Speaker 5 (35:52):
Dart is gonna have to learn how to be a
little more conservative with his body.

Speaker 2 (35:56):
Not just him.

Speaker 1 (35:56):
They need to coach him and have him understand Okay,
that's a that's coaching. You keep doing that, You're not
gonna go out there, Okay.

Speaker 2 (36:05):
Listen to your helmet and every kid.

Speaker 1 (36:07):
You can't do that, lower your shoulder into everybody. It
just how long you think you're gonna be out there.

Speaker 5 (36:12):
And you're the quarterback. Now, this is a varsity Blues.
You're not a high school team where you know, like, yeah,
it's cute, it's fun, or.

Speaker 1 (36:17):
You're the best player out there and you're and everybody
else is just like a.

Speaker 5 (36:20):
Little small dude yeah, you're not a man playing against
a bunch of small dudes, like, dude, this is your
rookie year. You're gonna have a long career. They feel
excited about you. They need you, so we'll see not you.
I said, the giants are excited about it.

Speaker 1 (36:34):
I'm just everybody's anointing all these people like right away.
And I'm not saying he hasn't look good, but I'm
not annoying anybody.

Speaker 5 (36:41):
But you know, obviously for them, the he's excited, they're
gonna be a long career. Really well, you hope, So
that is what I'm saying. You ain't gonna have one.
You keep throwing your helmet and your shoulder and your
chest and everything. The Jason Smith Show with Mike Harmon
is coming up next.

Speaker 4 (36:53):
I never miss your radio show.

Speaker 2 (36:55):
I never hear it, so I never miss it. Did
you hear that night pants?

Medal of Honor: Stories of Courage

Rewarded for bravery that goes above and beyond the call of duty, the Medal of Honor is the United States’ top military decoration. The stories we tell are about the heroes who have distinguished themselves by acts of heroism and courage that have saved lives. Every Wednesday on Medal of Honor, uncover what their experiences tell us about the nature of sacrifice, why people put their lives in danger for others, and what happens after you’ve become a hero.
