You're right at no, I'm all right today.
Speaker 3 (02:47):
Yeah, Okay, no, big gulp, I did. I got a
drinking of a fridge, but looking forward to a ribs
or chicken?
Speaker 4 (02:55):
Which one or shrimp? Afraid? Nope, I actually just have
just regular possible though.
Speaker 3 (03:01):
Uh and then I got four or five flat wings
that I'm gonna have unbread.
Speaker 4 (03:07):
But why give me the real quick before? Why the flat?
Speaker 6 (03:09):
Like?
Speaker 4 (03:09):
I love flat? I'm an equal opportunist. I just I
just don't. The drummies to me, are a little more
dry than the flats. They can be. I'll give you
you know what I mean. I can't argue with that.
I just to me, the flats just are a little juicier.
Speaker 3 (03:23):
And that's why I'm big into I like chicken legs
and chicken thighs, chicken because well you know, les no,
but I'm just saying because I don't want to be
you know, if I just saying what.
Speaker 1 (03:39):
I want the chicken in front, it'll be we got
a boycott Alex somehow with all that.
Speaker 4 (03:43):
You know, he wasn't even listening. He wasn't how dare
you No, no, no.
Speaker 1 (03:48):
You got the fresh blowout today? Boy, look looking like
Jesus superstar. I told you tar, this hair is long.
Speaker 4 (03:54):
Yeah, I see it. Look at you.
Speaker 3 (03:56):
If we got into a fight, I would just grab
your head. Okay, I'm just saying.
Speaker 1 (04:00):
I'm on, Rob, wouldn't you Yeah, in a street fight,
you gotta do.
Speaker 3 (04:04):
What if you were fighting you or you were put
in the bond.
Speaker 4 (04:08):
My hair of you in trouble? All right? Hold my
earrings right and hold my earrings that you go? All right?
Speaker 3 (04:16):
Hey, Uh, let's welcome in the odd couple crew, because
you wouldn't be able to do this farm radio program
without him. Rob g is our producer, but Mexican Alex
is our engineer behind the Curt Steve de Sager is
at the anchor desk. Steve, He'll keep us updated throughout
the program. And Sager is our social media Google soccer, soccer, soccer.
(04:41):
Turn the monitor, put the monitor.
Speaker 4 (04:43):
On, Yeah soccer. There you go, great guy.
Speaker 3 (04:46):
All right, Uh, Robie, let's start here from last night,
Thursday night football. I don't know if it was entertaining
or a snooze fast. Well, it started out as a
snooze fast. You know, defense sometimes is good. But the
Texans won a big ball game? Did they really?
Speaker 4 (05:03):
Did? They beat the Buffalo Bills?
Speaker 3 (05:06):
They neutralize right, Josh Allen, Mister Josh Allen, and they
won their third straight without CJ. Stroud, So they're three
to zero without their starting quarterback. That defense is good,
rob G. Just give us a little take on what
happened Thursday night.
Speaker 7 (05:24):
Yeah, it was a game dominated by that Texans defense.
It was quite possibly the most impressive defensive performance we've
seen by any NFL team in years, not just because
of who they did it against. Josh Allen, of course,
is great, but Houston's defense two picks, one forced fumble,
three total takeaways, eight sacks, eleven quarterback hits, twelve pressures,
(05:46):
held Buffalo to zero for two in the red zone,
and in the process, how the team to less than
twenty points for the eighth time already this season. So
basically eighty percent seventy of the games they're keeping you
under twenty points. And in the process, you may did
they did it without their starting quarterback CJ.
Speaker 4 (06:02):
Stroud.
Speaker 7 (06:03):
Davis Mills and all that neck had himself a very
solid game. The numbers don't quite do it justice, but
in the process last three games, Davis Mills completing about
six percent of his passes seven hundred and nineteen yards,
five touchdowns, one pick, eighty eight passer rating. He's gone
one hundred and thirteen consecutive passes without an interception, which
(06:24):
is great.
Speaker 4 (06:24):
He's only what you want from your backup when they
come in.
Speaker 7 (06:27):
He's only been sacked six times in the last three games,
which is a lot because their O line has not
been great throughout the season, and their three wins, two
of them Buffalo of course last night, and Jacksonville the
first game have come against playoff teams in the AFC.
Speaker 3 (06:40):
And I'm gonna say this, I'm not overreacting or you know,
the hyperbole or anything. I'm gonna stick with Davis Mills
and not automatically run back to CJ. Stroud if I'm
the Texans, And I'm not saying that CJ. Stroud lost
his job because injury or anything. Sometimes times you have
something going to hothand h I think that you could
(07:03):
take a look at that. And obviously the defense is
playing really well. But what if we talked about the
last year and a half their offense with CJ. Stroud,
right like, like remember after his rookie year, go back
and look, everybody.
Speaker 4 (07:20):
Picked him to go to the Super Bowl, and reacting
it was you weren't. You're not. That was a sexy pick.
Oh yeah. CJ.
Speaker 3 (07:29):
Stroud and the Texas, Oh my, oh yeah, he's just
a rookie looking away. How are you gonna stop that kid?
Blah blah blah blah blah blah blah. And it's been
raggedy since then, since year one. Last year, like we
every every week we watched they can't score. That's why
I said to you before when they scored the forty
(07:50):
points against Baltimore, like that was an aberration. That was
like that was Baltimore, That wasn't them, because they don't
do that. And I'm not saying this is not Davis
Mills putting up forty points a game, and oh my god,
you know what I mean.
Speaker 8 (08:06):
C J.
Speaker 3 (08:07):
Stroud can never get back in there or whatever it is.
That's not what I'm saying. Something's working here. Three and
ohero a couple of wins against playoff teams. Do you
remember It's a little different, but you remember this When
New Orlando Magic upset Lebron James and the Cavaliers to
(08:31):
get to the NBA Finals. That was the NBA Finals.
We were waiting for Kobe and Lebron do you remember
rob g the Puppets, remember the Muppets of those guys
all year that was supposed to be.
Speaker 4 (08:44):
The finals and it never happened.
Speaker 3 (08:45):
You know why because Dwight Howard and Turker Glue and
skipped him Alou.
Speaker 4 (08:51):
Okay, they had a nice little squad, and then what happened.
Speaker 3 (08:56):
They got to the finals, change their rotation, Skip Tomlou
not starting anymore less Meir Nelson who had played in
two months, three three like he had. He was their guy.
I get it, but he hadn't played in like two
or three months. He got healthy ready to play in
(09:17):
the finals. They messed up everything that that team had going.
I would say, Jamia, you're a god. He got something.
I can't make that change Skip to Mulou was leading
that team as the point guard.
Speaker 4 (09:32):
He's still upset about it to this day, to.
Speaker 3 (09:33):
This day, and rightfully so tho, because you get you
get the team to the finals, and then you make
a lineup change.
Speaker 4 (09:41):
I'm just saying.
Speaker 3 (09:42):
I'm not saying the Texans aren't in the super Bowl
or whatever, and I'm not saying CJ. Strouds washed there
and move on, or Davis Mills is taking his job
and he can't get it back. I'm waiting for David
Davis Mills to have a bad game. That's what I'm
waiting for, for him to go back turning to a pumpkin,
and then I could go back to CJ. Stroud after that.
(10:03):
But I'm not making a change until he plays poorly
and the team loses.
Speaker 1 (10:09):
You know what, I wanted to go crazy at you
because I thought as you were setting it up, I
didn't know how far you were gonna go with this,
and I thought you were basically saying CJ. Stroud get
out of here. Uh for the whole time, you know,
like basically no more. This is Davis Mills team. So
I was ready to go crazy at you, but then
you you, you brought it back down. I'll give you
an example, went there. Yeah, You're never going crazy. No,
(10:30):
you want me check out my text from everybody.
Speaker 4 (10:32):
That your boy. I heard your boy. You know what
I'm gonna give you. I'm gonna I'm.
Speaker 1 (10:35):
Gonna even add to what you were saying. Steve Berline,
was that ninety one? I think it was ninety one
playoffs if I'm not mistaken with the yep, yep, it
was Steve Berlin with the Cowboys. Comes in Troy ak
when it's Troy A mean, we know what he's doing.
He's doing they're playing well. He gets injured. They have
been playing really well. Uh Berlin comes in. They were
(10:55):
playing okay, he gets some a list. They going to
run thing. They around like six something straight. They were
just all of a sudden playing great. The offense was vibing,
and they decided to go with him instead of Troy Aikman,
who got back healthy and soide. In the postseason, they
ultimately would lose, and to this day they debate that
if you watch the Jerry Jones doc, you know they
still Troy Aikman still upset about it. Jimmy Johnson's you
(11:16):
know still, Hey, I went with what I thought to
your point, I went with the hot guy. I want
the guy that got us a bunch of wins. So
that's an example of I don't know what your point.
Speaker 3 (11:24):
Yeah, And it's not to disrespect CJ or say, you know,
you lost your gig, you got hurt and you're out.
Speaker 4 (11:33):
But I like what they have going.
Speaker 1 (11:34):
The only reason why I'll challenge you is because they
started to get something going prior to CJ going down
so CJ was starting to get it going. We know
the offensive line had been much beligned, they had not
been playing well, had him running for his life. But
then the last few games, CJ started to get it going.
So before the injury, he had a three to one record,
(11:56):
rob he had wins over the Ravens, the forty nine ers,
he had nine touchdown only two interceptions, and then they
were beating the Broncos before he went down with that concussion,
so that could have been maybe four and one, and
so they were starting to write the ship, starting to
get this thing going. And again with a defense like that,
they were always in it. So if he were looking
like he were the end of last season beginning of
(12:17):
this season, I would totally get what you're saying, and
I would say, you know what, I can't really argue
with you. The only thing was to me, CJ was
starting the ball and again nine touchdowns, two interceptions, three
to one record, they were rolling. He started to have
passed the ball, would get more yard is the offense.
Speaker 4 (12:32):
Was getting more explosive. A lot of that was in
that Baltimore game.
Speaker 1 (12:35):
No, I'm talking about just other games as well.
Speaker 3 (12:37):
So what I'm saying a lot, a lot of a
lot of the nine touchdowns, right.
Speaker 4 (12:43):
I mean, look at it. So you look at the
Niners game, which was right here.
Speaker 1 (12:47):
So he goes thirty for thirty nine, three hundred and
eighteen yards, two touchdowns.
Speaker 4 (12:52):
I mean, he was playing very well.
Speaker 1 (12:54):
So this is the Baltimore game, he had two hundred
and forty four, four touchdowns.
Speaker 3 (13:01):
That's what I'm saying. The both of the four tds
is a big day. I don't know where was the
last time CJ. Stroud had four touchdowns.
Speaker 1 (13:08):
Maybe the Rikie year, you know what, I jump under him.
But my point was he was getting it going, he
was turning the corner. The team was So that's why
I'm going back to him. I get what you were
saying if this were the earlier part of the season,
because you're looking at the beginning of the season for him,
it was bad, zero touchdowns in an interception, only one
hundred eight yards two hundred and seven yards touchdown, no interceptions.
Speaker 4 (13:26):
But it was still a loss.
Speaker 1 (13:28):
Another loss to the Jags, and he had two hundred
yards a touchdown, two interceptions, you know what I mean.
So that beginning, if we were sitting here and it
was after that I'd totally be with you, but for me,
it just changes because he was starting to play well
three and one, nine touchdowns, two interceptions, They were heading
the right direction. So it's his job to lose while
playing not injured for me?
Speaker 4 (13:48):
All right?
Speaker 3 (13:48):
Eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox eight seven seven
nineine six sixty three sixty nine. Should the Texans stick
with Davis Mills over CJ. Stroud for the foreseeable future
until you like bombs out has a bad game to me,

Speaker 4 (16:23):
All right?
Speaker 1 (16:24):
Eight seven seven ninety nine On Fox, Rob says Davis
Mills should be the starter since he's won a few
in a row. I say CJ was playing well before
the injury. It's his job to lose, not being injured.
What say you? Eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox?
Who we got all right? Let's get it kicked off
with Dion and Texas. You're on the odd couple of
Fox Sports Radio. What's up, Dion?
Speaker 4 (16:44):
Rob?
Speaker 6 (16:44):
What's up? Chill? Then?
Speaker 4 (16:46):
What what up?
Speaker 5 (16:47):
Hey?
Speaker 1 (16:48):
It was a.
Speaker 6 (16:48):
Surprising outcome last night, Wasn't this great game? Davis Mills
going three and oher? Look, man, I can't see what
I've already seen. I think CJ gave us the expectations
here one. Uh, and he has not duplicated.
Speaker 4 (17:02):
That man, not close to year one, not even close.
Speaker 6 (17:06):
So I say this, they got a lot of days off,
he's you know, go ahead and let him play this
next year. Are they playing at Indianapolis or is it
at Texas? Dude kind of think it's unfair to throw
him out against such a team like that. He's been out,
Davis Mills won three in a row. You might as
well keep him in there for the next game because
(17:28):
he is on a roll.
Speaker 1 (17:30):
Uh.
Speaker 6 (17:30):
But if they do go with CJ, I wouldn't be
afraid to go ahead and put Davis Mills back in there.
This is what have you done for me, lady League?
And to be honest with you, I was like, man,
Demiko Ran started off on a heater, as well did CJ.
But Demiko started on a heater as a new head coach.
I started to think about, Wow, man, next year he
might be on that list, but on that watch list
(17:52):
be replaced.
Speaker 4 (17:53):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (17:53):
Well, if things didn't turn around like they have, I
think his defense being so.
Speaker 4 (17:59):
Good, thank you, no doubt, but that turned it around. Yeah.
I like what I like.
Speaker 1 (18:03):
We say he said not the hot seat, but the
keep a eye list. I'm okay with that. He definitely
wouldn't have been on the hot seat in my hapinion.
Speaker 3 (18:09):
What about truck or NAV nave? Is that it naven in?
Uh oh, truck or NAV in Nashville? You're on they
couple of Fox Sports Radio. What's up nav?
Speaker 5 (18:21):
Hey, gentlemen, you remember when uh ray Lewis was long
in the tooth, he won his second Super Bowl against
a young promising quarterback named Colin Kaepernick. Huh yeah, well
you know what. Colin Kaepernick was there because he replaced
Alex Smith during the season when he got injured. And
(18:41):
Jimmy Harbaugh says, no, no, no, you're not going back
right with the hot hand.
Speaker 10 (18:46):
No.
Speaker 3 (18:47):
I agree. I mean that we've seen it before.
Speaker 2 (18:50):
Truck.
Speaker 5 (18:50):
I like c J. Stroup, But guess what, you stick
with the hard hand.
Speaker 1 (18:55):
Until he had until he goes, call I gotta settle down,
till he goes call I told you what, But y'all
got to settle downright. Davis Mills is eight eight nineteen
in his career in one eight nineteen and worried about that.
So that's but I'm just saying, hold hold up, now,
are you good?
Speaker 2 (19:11):
Now?
Speaker 4 (19:11):
Are you good? Five years ago?
Speaker 1 (19:14):
Don't do that, because that's what you're doing. Sam Donald.
Sam Donald's had two amazing years. He's a usual reflected
on that back in the past.
Speaker 4 (19:20):
Don't do that.
Speaker 3 (19:21):
I want to do this because you say he had
two amazing years. Okay, how many interceptions does Sam Donald
have this year?
Speaker 4 (19:27):
Yes? Ten? At ten or ten turn might be ten turnings?
Speaker 3 (19:30):
No, no, no, it's ten interceptions and then another four
or five turnovers, so he has fifteen.
Speaker 4 (19:35):
To me, he ain't having no great year.
Speaker 3 (19:37):
Seventeen touchdowns and fifteen turnovers ain't no great.
Speaker 4 (19:41):
His team is playing.
Speaker 1 (19:42):
Well, and you coupled that with last year Donald has played.
Speaker 4 (19:45):
Well, not this year. I'm not buying. I didn't even
realize he has so many. He has more. They got
twenty as a team. They got twenty as a team.
He's got like.
Speaker 3 (19:52):
Fifteen, I got twenty. All right, let's go to Matt
and Boise Boise, I, what hold you on the odd
couple of Fox Sports Radio?
Speaker 4 (20:02):
What's up?
Speaker 11 (20:02):
Matt?
Speaker 12 (20:03):
What's up?
Speaker 5 (20:04):
Guys?
Speaker 8 (20:04):
Yo? Yo, taller.
Speaker 12 (20:05):
I'm going to work on my Friday or my Monday.
For you guys, Friday, so you're probably enjoyed today a little.
Speaker 4 (20:10):
Bit more very nice.
Speaker 3 (20:11):
So today's your Monday. So you worked the weekends or Wednesday?
Speaker 12 (20:16):
Yeah, I got split days. I actually got two Mondays
and two Fridays. So a little bit about it and
a little bit of good there. But hey, I just
wanted to kind of see into those first two callers.
I think a little bit of this scenario where we're
looking a lot of those good scenarios. Obviously, I can
also throw in like Nick Foles replace in Carson Wentz
Eagles team at wand but what we don't really think
about is some of those replacements that don't go well
(20:37):
because it really turns into a lose lose situation because well,
if we didn't do the replacement like where you brought
up the Cowboys in ninety one, well maybe Troigman would
have done worse. We don't know. What he done better maybe,
and so as a as a coach and an ownership
and that kind of level, it's a very, i think,
on fun place to be in because unless they perform,
whether you go with Stroud, whether you go with Davis Mills,
(20:57):
if they don't perform, everybody's going to be.
Speaker 3 (21:00):
No, no, no no. But here here's the thing. And
this is what I'm saying. Are you still there, Matt?
Speaker 4 (21:07):
Okay? So I'm not. That's why I said. I'm like,
he lose his job, like as a starter exactly like.
Speaker 3 (21:13):
Right, like, if he plays well and they win Game four,
he's gonna start again. As soon as he loses or
doesn't play well, then I'm gonna go back to me
the question.
Speaker 4 (21:22):
That's know what I'm saying. I'm not gonna let him
lose three in a row if he does.
Speaker 1 (21:26):
What if he loses one but it wasn't his fault
and you look at it in the season, he and
you guys are going to the postseason.
Speaker 4 (21:31):
Are you starting game one of the postseasons with or Davis?
With Davis? If I if I.
Speaker 3 (21:36):
Ask where the question if I went that whole run
and we had the playoffs and he only lost one
game and the defense kind of gave up, didn't play
that well or whatever it was.
Speaker 4 (21:46):
Then I'm gonna ride with him, Rob G. Jump, that's
a question for you.
Speaker 7 (21:49):
So the premise of this argument is do you ride
the hot hand or do you go back to exactly
the I guess the issue with the conversation is CJ
was the hot hand before you.
Speaker 4 (21:58):
That's that's what I was.
Speaker 12 (21:59):
That was.
Speaker 7 (22:00):
So how do you differentiate which one is the hotter hand?
Because because Stroud's numbers are much better than anything Davis
Mills has done.
Speaker 3 (22:07):
Yeah, but the only difference is Stroud had four of
those touchdowns against a bad Baltimore team. So those are
your nine touchdowns, Rob G. And I'm gonna say those
came and I'm not gonna discount it. He won the game,
they scored forty points. I'll give him that. But to
win two playoff games, you know, two games against two
playoff teams in this situation and the Bills one is
(22:28):
the one that wakes you up. Yes, the defense played well,
but he put up enough points as well, had two touchdowns.
Speaker 4 (22:33):
That's all I'm saying.
Speaker 3 (22:35):
If he would have beaten I don't know, some better
seam or something. Maybe I don't feel the same way,
but in this situation, now you're three to zero, Now
your defense is playing, well do you just go back?
And then if you go back and Stroud throws three
picks and you lose the game, people go.
Speaker 1 (22:52):
Well do you do that? Like you But I think
people will be okay. I hear your point. I think
people would be okay with it because CJ. Stroud is
our guy. That's our franchise guy. That's why you're going
back to our franchise guy. And that's why that's why
I brought up the jamar Jami or Nelson thing. And
I know it's different. It's an NBA quarterback is look,
but you get My point though, is that they were
(23:13):
rolling right Orlando. They were rolling and they said, he's
our guy. We got to go back to him. And
I think they made a mistake. But the only other
thing I know we gotta break is uh that in
that scenario you got a series.
Speaker 4 (23:26):
If you go to the playoffs for some.
Speaker 1 (23:27):
Big critical game and you lose, everybody's gonna say, see, man,
you should have went back to CJ's See.
Speaker 3 (23:32):
My thing is it's the It's the other way around
is let it you just got here playing like this,
play it out. And then if you and then if
you see something that's different, or you really believe that
a change could make you, don't change just to change.
Speaker 4 (23:47):
There's no reason to look at if CJ.
Speaker 3 (23:50):
Stroud was uh, wasn't healthy, would you be looking to
go to somebody else because he didn't play well enough?
Speaker 4 (23:59):
Know you would not. That's all all.
Speaker 1 (24:02):
Right, appreciate it, Thanks for the cause as always.
Speaker 4 (24:04):
All right.
Speaker 1 (24:05):
On the way, we got to have a conversation about
somebody's looking to get back on the field earlier than expected.
Speaker 4 (24:11):
Should he?
Speaker 1 (24:12):
We'll tell you next. Right now, Steve Seger is gonna
get you set on what's trending, Haysty.
Speaker 2 (24:15):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Odd Couple
with Rob Parker and Kelvin Washington weekdays at seven pm
Eastern four pm Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio.
Speaker 1 (24:26):
App Appreciated, Steve, thank you, it'ste Odd Couple, Rob Parker
Kelvin Washington on a funky Flashback Friday. Still got a
lot in store for you on this day. Want to
talk about this one man. We've had a couple now
instances where they're Joe Burrow a couple of practices. You
got the coach saying that he looks good, he looks healthy,
and that he's basically saying, now it kind of comes
(24:48):
down on me the decision I make. You know, do
I put him out there? Do you do you rest them?
What do you want to do? Of course, Joe Burrows
wants to play, but Zach Taylor was saying, looks great,
he looks healthy, and it's gonna to come down to me.
Remember he was not supposed to really be ready until
about mid December, so he's a few weeks, three, four
weeks ahead of the schedule. Right now, they sit at
(25:10):
three and seven, three game losing streak, and they face
the Patriots, who are obviously on a roll. Right now,
they're sitting at nine and two, So the question he
comes to player or not It is similar. You and
I had this conversation with Jayden Daniels, and for me, Rob,
I absolutely get the morale of your leader, your guy,
(25:30):
Joe Burrow wanted to come back.
Speaker 4 (25:32):
I'm healthier, faster than expected.
Speaker 1 (25:35):
But this defense is actually, as we see here today,
historically the worst defense ever, which is worse than last
year when they were one of the worst defenses in
the NFL, so they've gotten worse. You're without Jamar Chase
this week because he obviously out there spitting on people.
So to me, I just don't see the upside of
a guy who's been often injured through his career in
(25:56):
Joe Burrow right now playing him.
Speaker 4 (25:58):
Actually, I get the morale, get coming back.
Speaker 1 (26:00):
I get that, you know, paid to play football, But man,
this is one of those teams when you have a
guy like that in offense like that, you're trying to
win deep playoff runs in Super Bowls, and right now
you sit at three and seven, and they got a
short turnaround because they would play this week and then
they would play Thanksgiving. So I just I'm not I
don't want to put my guy through that, the guy
(26:22):
who we need, the guy who's gonna be our franchise
for hopefully another half at least a half a decade
in the mix like that.
Speaker 4 (26:29):
Our defense is terrible.
Speaker 1 (26:30):
So even if you put up points like Flatco has
been doing in the offense, put up a bunch of
points losing, I don't see the advantage. He's back healthier earlier.
Let's just get no rush. There's no need to rush.
We've got plenty of time with you. You're here for years.
I don't see the advantage of this.
Speaker 3 (26:47):
It's not about an advantage. He's a player, that's what
he does. And if he's healthy. The only way I
agree with you is if he's not healthy. When Kevin
Durant was forced back into that, Chris and I said
here and we're like, this is ridiculous by that, that
was we didn't even when Anthony Davis limped out there
in that playoff game Rob Ge, who was that against Denver?
Speaker 4 (27:09):
Who was that? You remember that?
Speaker 3 (27:12):
He comes out there and hurts yourself in five minutes.
You remember that because Charles Barkley called him street close
and he was trying to prove a point.
Speaker 1 (27:21):
Where's that phoenix? Look ahead? You get my point. That's
not what I'm talking about. But if he's healthy and
he gets he's healthy, and he just happens to be
back a week or two early, whatever, If he's healthy,
I'm all about playing. If he's not healthy, I'm with you.
So that is the issue. Well, that's the thing, like, like, well,
(27:42):
how will we ever know? No, no, no, But the
doctors clear him and he obviously never if.
Speaker 3 (27:47):
He says he's healthy seriously, and he's been clear by
the doctors, then I'm cool with him playing because that's
what he does. And the idea that you always want
to give yourself a chance, and your best chance is
gonna be with your best player. So if he's healthy,
I don't have an issue with it. This whole idea
(28:09):
of just wait and we'll wait till next year, or yeah,
you'll be okay. He could get hurt in Game one
next year, that's true. He could get hurt and he
waits until the last week or two weeks before the season.
Speaker 4 (28:22):
Oh, we can get hurt in that game.
Speaker 3 (28:24):
So if you're gonna get hurt, there's a chance you
could get hurt. I'm just saying he shouldn't play hurt.
But the idea that you're going to protect him by
thinking he's not gonna get hurt next year or something.
Speaker 1 (28:36):
He's been hurt his whole career. But I guess what
I'm saying rop this team expectations. You always talking about it.
What was it, a second year in the league, goes
to the super Bowl, So.
Speaker 4 (28:45):
He was hurt. Remember he's hurt his first year, came back,
so he missed seven games. Rookie year got a knee injury.
Speaker 1 (28:53):
Twenty twenty three, he missed the final eleven games to
our ligament. This year, he's missed all these games until
you know, whenever he comes back. So my thing is
he's already struggled with injuries. College was letting Nick nase,
this is this is his history, so I need to
utilize and what it matters is all I'm saying. Me
being three and seven getting ready to play a Patriots team,
(29:14):
which is really freaking good, just to turn around have
to play a Thanksgiving game four or five days later.
I don't need to put him through that right now.
So to me, I don't see the advantage when I'm
trying to get deep playoff runs.
Speaker 4 (29:25):
My defense is terrible.
Speaker 1 (29:27):
So even if he puts up thirty, we're gonna lose
by ten because they'll put up forty.
Speaker 4 (29:30):
Know that, you just you don't know that.
Speaker 1 (29:32):
I'm saying their defense is the worst ever on the
paper right now.
Speaker 4 (29:36):
But but you don't know that.
Speaker 3 (29:38):
And and that's not how people I have to project,
don't have to protect. That's fars, that's not that's not
how coaches look at it or players like, oh we
got no shot. That's what upsets are. That's where guys
make plays. That's where the other team can be anything
can happen. That's what I'm saying.
Speaker 1 (29:54):
As a GM, I gotta project, I gotta protect and project.
Speaker 4 (29:57):
But but you're saying he's held and we're not playing him.
Speaker 3 (30:02):
That's what the other hand, we don't have Jamar Chase
rob but the other players on a team because they
believe the next man up. You can't preach next man up,
and then when other guys go out, then you're gonna say,
oh no, well, we.
Speaker 4 (30:12):
Can't win him. He's not playing. He's not playing.
Speaker 1 (30:15):
What about ten twelve dudes in the league who ain't
next man up?
Speaker 4 (30:19):
Like you can preach that. But I'm saying, Joe Burrow
ain't that.
Speaker 1 (30:22):
We We gotta come back twenty twenty sixth season with
Joe Burrow ready and loaded at the beginning of season.
Point being, he ain't just a linebacker or a cornerback
or a tight end like that's everything. So we absolutely
need him to be up right.
Speaker 4 (30:37):
Joe Burrow is healthy, I have no issue with him playing.
Speaker 1 (30:41):
Joe Burrow About to burrow yourself down on his bench
and have a seat, watch his game like me. That's
how I will see it all right on the way.
We got playing today Shekel City as well. We're doing

but he's gonna punch you in the back of the head.
Speaker 4 (32:35):
It's getting closer with Gee.
Speaker 3 (32:36):
When we have a fight before I leave this show,
you think, oh big time.
Speaker 4 (32:40):
No, see he loves me, Rob G. He does.
Speaker 1 (32:43):
Okay, let me ask for me rephrase question your honor
a massive verbal blowout. No, oh yeah, said yes exactly.
Speaker 4 (32:52):
No, that was Chris. You know you and Alex. You
know that's right, Chris.
Speaker 1 (33:00):
You and Chris had a bunch of verbal blowouts.
Speaker 7 (33:03):
I'm talking about with you who had the verbal blogs
with Chris.
Speaker 2 (33:07):
Not me?
Speaker 1 (33:08):
You never what did you and the reverend for about?
Speaker 4 (33:13):
I don't know. Just just wasn't that important if we
keep doing the show afterwards? Right? It wasn't normal. It
wasn't the end of the world. But we've never had one. No, no,
he just he just drives home and like thro the way.
Speaker 7 (33:24):
It was jet black when I started see that's racist, Alex.
Speaker 4 (33:27):
Did you hear that? He said jet blacker? Now he
was just saying jet ebonie, you know, man in the
week or something. That's what he's saying, jet ebony black.
That's what he meant to say. All right, all right,
it's top Sek City.
Speaker 2 (33:39):
Welcome to Shekel City, the whole base for Rob Parkers.
Speaker 4 (33:49):
Did I knew that? I knew that, Alex?
Speaker 3 (33:54):
All Right, one or two last night, eighty and seventy
two is now the record.
Speaker 4 (34:02):
Eighty and seventy two. I'm happy with that. Here we go.
It's not bad. Best bet.
Speaker 3 (34:08):
I'm taking the Nuggets plus two and a half in Houston,
taking on the Rocket.
Speaker 4 (34:12):
Good game, Yeah, looking forward to that.
Speaker 3 (34:15):
Also, I got the Timberwolves minus four and a half.
They're in Phoenix taking on the Suns.
Speaker 1 (34:22):
Son's playing better than we thought, losing all the players,
they're playing.
Speaker 4 (34:26):
Better now long it last. But you're right, I'm not
a deep playoff run.
Speaker 3 (34:30):
But they performed not to take Portland plus nine and
a half.
Speaker 4 (34:34):
In San Francisco. Okay, all right, Golden State wins it.
Speaker 3 (34:38):
Maybe Draymond shoots O four eleven from the field and Portland.
Speaker 1 (34:43):
Crazy Portland when he does, just don't call him ajories.
Speaker 4 (34:47):
But they covered by nine and a half.
Speaker 3 (34:49):
So again, no Portland plus nine and a half, Denver
plus two and a half, and Minnesota minus four and
a half. And remember, Kelvin, I'm not telling you who
to bet on.
Speaker 4 (35:00):
I'm tall.
Speaker 1 (35:02):
By the way, anybody I've heard have the conversation about
Draymond and the whole injury, everybody's agree with us, Like, dude,
that was actually kind of clever, like he kind of
smoked you on that.
Speaker 4 (35:11):
It was It was very funny.
Speaker 1 (35:12):
He called you a basketball player. You literally did what
she's been known for. Like that was just an hour.
That was you want to go basketball. That was a layup.
It was sitting right, that was he used it. It was
it was a good one. Can believe he was trying.
Speaker 4 (35:24):
To be a married man. What doing that?
Speaker 1 (35:28):
That's not that one on one that you go to
that well when it's something else, you know what I mean,
like somebody just respecting you, man, like calling you like
something deeper than that, not that he called you a
basketball player and he he's hecking you at a game.
Speaker 4 (35:39):
Like who's who's who miss shocked and exactly.
Speaker 1 (35:43):
Yeah, I was like, dude, that that's not the one
to be like, I'm a man, respect me.
Speaker 4 (35:46):
That's not the one right there, Draymond, come all right?
Speaker 3 (35:48):
And the conversation continues, And what's that with Caleb Williams.
They don't like the way he wins and he just
keeps winning. If they win this game, uh, it gets
the Steelers and and Aaron Rodgers is not to play, right,
I know, he's questioned.
Speaker 4 (36:01):
I don't expect him to play this week.
Speaker 3 (36:02):
I think they'll have them take a week off as
a fracture and his left rist his non throwing hand,
and they should be able to beat Pittsburgh if they do.
Speaker 4 (36:12):
Will that be eight in a row or nine? Is
that eight eight?
Speaker 1 (36:16):
Because they're seven and three now yeah right, yeah, they're
seven and three.
Speaker 4 (36:21):
Is if they're they're weird. We've been talking about all seasons,
just like weird.
Speaker 1 (36:24):
They get it done because they have five games where
the five of their wins I believe in the last
two minutes or less of a game where they pulled
it out.
Speaker 4 (36:32):
But this is what we.
Speaker 3 (36:35):
Okay, seven the last eight. Ok So this is what
we saw last year with Washington, didn't.
Speaker 4 (36:39):
We see that? That's what what Jade and Daniels did
last year.
Speaker 3 (36:43):
You remember they were game they had no business winning,
and he threw the Hail Mary against.
Speaker 4 (36:48):
The Bears and Bill right and all that, like that's
how they won.
Speaker 3 (36:51):
And then all of a sudden they were in a
playing for the NFC championship game, like.
Speaker 1 (36:57):
This is a big one shoot out. See if I
can pull it up quickly before But the Bears, is it?
They seven? Five of their last seven games are in
the division. That's crazy. They got that's a big one. Yeah,
so that that that's obviously it can help if you
get those wins, because you can you keep staying on
top of them.
Speaker 4 (37:15):
But they got some tough games started with the Steelers.
Speaker 7 (37:18):
Yeah, they've only beaten teams below five hundred, which is, hey,
you beat who's like your schedule?
Speaker 1 (37:22):
Well the no, no, no, no, you have told you
don't be doing that again.
Speaker 4 (37:28):
I'll be talking about they beat nobody about five hundred.
Ter they play. I don't even know, like, how could
every game be under five hundred?
Speaker 7 (37:36):
Like seven wins the other they lost to the tran
they lost the Ravens, they lost the Vikings. But moving
forward at the end of the season, this is tough
home against Pittsburgh, at Philly, at Green Bay home against
Shed or Sandys and the Browns will see that, you know,
spicy are okay, We're not home against the Packers again
at the Niners home against the Lions.
Speaker 3 (37:57):
They beat the Lions to knock them out of the
playoffs and to win the division.
Speaker 4 (38:01):
That's that's that game the Lions.
Speaker 1 (38:03):
Is Is that Detroit, No, it's in Chicago's at home. Okay,
in Chicago, that's going to be the game. Remember it'll
be And that was Jared Goff. Don't be doing unstudid.
Speaker 7 (38:13):
You've got all playoff teams, well, count Detroit is a
playoff team for you. All playoff teams plus the Browns.
Speaker 4 (38:19):
Rob G. That's tough.
Speaker 3 (38:20):
So they win to play the Browns game, and then
they got what six other games?
Speaker 4 (38:24):
Right, yep, all they got to do is split. That's
four WYT again, no, but that gives them eleven. That's
what I'm saying that that's that's not a bad schedule.
Speaker 1 (38:32):
It's just a tough schedule, and so many in division too,
they gotta split.
Speaker 4 (38:36):
Yeah,
