You're listening to Fox Sports Radio. All yeah, it is

(00:47):
and we are coming to you live from the Geico
Fox Sports Radio Studios. Fifteen minutes could save you fifteen
percent or more on your car insurts. Visit Geco dot
com for a free rate quote. How are you doing,
mister Parker? I'm doing just fine. Mister Broussard, How are
you today on this beautiful day in Los Angeles? Definitely
a beautiful day. It's so nice to wake up in

(01:09):
the morning and the sun is shine, it's warm out
and even it's nice to step off out of work
and beautiful. It really brightens your day. Oh yes, so
much to do, but first let's welcome into our couple
of crul Chris, we wouldn't be able to do this
fine program without him. Rob g is our producer, Alex
our engineer, our sports anchors David Gascod. He'll keep us

(01:32):
updated throughout the show, and our intern is Maya. They're
all on the other side of the glass. Chris Broussard.
Let's kick some ass. Let's do it. Let's do it.
There's plenty to talk about. Rob. Obviously, an incredible game
and an incredible shot last night, Damian Lillard leading to
Portland Trail Blazers past Oklahoma City Thunder. We will certainly

(01:53):
get into that. Kevin Durant still talking talking a lot
for somebody that doesn't like the media. Supposedly he talks
a lot, which I like. I like that about KD.
So we will get into something that's gonna be one
of those guys when it's all said and done, I'm
telling the media. Yeah, like he'll he'll be or trying
to get in or trying you know when guys do

(02:14):
you know if he has that personality. But you've met
guys who, after the fact, all of a sudden, are
the most friendly, the friendliest guys, because once you get
out of that fraternity and you're not a player, changes right.
You might know better than me but I was too
young to cover Damn Arino. But I heard he wasn't
good with the media, right, and then of course he
wands up to the Yeah, into the arena. I told

(02:36):
you what you call it? Sterling sterling sharp? Yeah, another
guy that keeps Shannon out since his brother wasn't good. No,
but Shadda was good, but the media was great. So
we will get into all of that. So plenty of
NBA talk. We're bringing in Eddie House, the NBA champion,
the FS one NBA analysts to talk about it with us.
We got a celebrity corner that died forward today. He

(03:00):
should I tell him? Should I tell him? Who want
multi platinum? Multi platinum hip hop recording artists? Fat Joe
is in the house. He will join us for Celebrity
quarter and Joe is a big time Nicks fan. We
have fun with him, so we will have fun with

(03:21):
him when we talk to him. So and then uh
in the third hour hot seat Nick Ba, who's the
FS one college hoops analyst and Fox Sports radio weekend host,
he will take his chances in the hot seat, Rob.
I feel sorry for mister nick By today, all right,
And of course it is a TV theme song Thursday,
and just that Wednesday Thursday, I'm already dropping. He's subtly

(03:47):
sub ways he's trying to get rid of worship Wednesday.
No I'm not the second time. See this is the
I'm banning that song from worship on Wednesday, the second time.
That's something about worship Wednesday. I can't remember. Last week
it was punishment as punishment that song is banned from

(04:10):
worship winsd I know that's your theme song. But on
Wednesdays we gotta come up, do you know what? And
today was the last day classes at USC and I
know it's Wednesday. Why did I think today would start?
We're off tomorrow. We got the Big Show, Jay Glazer,
who else is on that? Rob g the Draft Show,
Chris spiel Rob Stone is a Stone and Joel that.

(04:34):
You got Jay Glazer for the News, you got Joel
Clad who gives his great you working on analysis as anyone.
Rob Stone's a great host. And Spielman, I mean grow
a player's perspective, Like I covered Chris Spielman when he
was in Detroit when he really good guy, really good guy. Right,
all right, So let's get into it, Dame and Dollar

(04:56):
puts the Oklahoma City thunder tough bed and I'm telling you,
Rob Parker, we're gonna get to Dave. We're gonna get
to the clutch shot, saw on it so forth. But
let's hear it first, and then I'm gonna make my point.
Damn out to the front cart ten seconds. Mollard, I
fronder gainst charge five seconds, charge packing up, father doesn't

(05:20):
want to pack Dan going for the wind a three
pointer for the game. Dame Lillard drops a thirty seven
footer in the grill of Paul George in his grill.

(05:41):
Don't don't lose sight of that in his grill, okay,
And I'm gonna throw something else in Paul George's grill,
Rob Parker, Paul George, and look, let me just throw
get this out of the way. He's a human being.
If he's happy in Oklahoma, just listen to me. You

(06:04):
don't even know where I'm going. He enjoys the fishing,
the community. That's fine. So he's happy there. That's good
in that sense, of course, you make the choice you want.
I'm speaking strictly in basketball terms, strictly from the standpoint
of wanting to win a championship. Of trying to win

(06:27):
a championship, of putting yourself in the best position to
win a championship. And I'm telling you, Rob Parker, Paul
George made a mistake last summer when he signed to
stay in Oklahoma City instead of joining Lebron James and

(06:48):
his hometown Lost Angeles Lakers. Don't even try to tell
me I'm wrong. Chris Broussard has never been more wrong
since he said, okayse he was going to the Western
Conference final. Oh that was a couple of days ago,
or when he said that, No, all you he required
is my time, no best time point, it's my time.

(07:09):
You the pick. Argue what I'm saying about time, what
I said about Paul George making them as how it does.
What you're saying makes no sense. Just two days ago
you had him going to the Western Conference finals. Now
you're saying he made a total mistake. How Chris, it
doesn't add up. Can let me give you my calculator?

(07:30):
Just sid makes no sense what you're saying now, you're
doing a revisionist history and you're the same. You're the
same guys. All the Lebron fans who pooh pooed Paul George,
we don't want them. We're glad he income who said
when I say that, not you, They all said at
the fans after he after he spurned Lebron James and

(07:54):
the Lakers. We didn't want them anyway, That's what they said.
And now they have the nerve after things went sour
with Okay see to say, see, see, you should have
come to LA and this way he wouldn't even have
a playoff series. He could have just been out of
the playoffs like Lebron. He didn't make a mistake. He's

(08:14):
not in a toxic environment that's going to damage his
basketball career like those guys, those young guys who would
damaged his past year being around Lebron nonsense that went on,
and the Magic Johnson and the Gene Puss and the
Rod Polinka and all the other nonsense that went on
in LA. He didn't make a mistake. He's where he

(08:36):
wants to be. He not only has a teammate that
he likes, whether or not he played well or not,
he likes it. And he gets the best barbecue in
this country. Are you done? Ah, You're welcome about off
the American that didn't even deserve there when should I
call that music? What is that scale to the chief? Hailton,

(08:58):
the chief that didn't even deserve halt. No, it wasn't.
It was a good It wasn't you. And you just
made it worse with your barbecue statement. Because Olhoma City's
not known for barbecues. It is not more than Texas,
not more than Kansas City. But they have barbecu more
than Satan Les's family had a barbecue spot. Stop it,

(09:18):
Rob Parker, you are so wrong. First of all, you're
wrong about his career being ruined. Was Kyrie Irving's career
ruined when Lebron James went there? I think not. All
Kyrie Irving did was get to play in the finals
for four straight years. All Kyrie Irving did was get

(09:40):
to put place in an opera in the position to
hit one of the greatest shots in NBA history. And
Kyrie Irving realized that this year when he called Lebron
and a job about that. That had nothing to do
about that. Then they Wade and Chris blush really did
got him two championships. Chris bosh Is, as a friend,

(10:03):
were thought off as a frail player who was a
French player. After he joined Lebron. He's not thinking. He's
not thought of as SICH players do not make the
All Star Team. Chris Bosh made the All Star Team
every year with Lebron James. So stop it with the
revisionist history. Chris Bosch is gonna be a Hall of
Famer largely because of the championships he won with Lebron James.

(10:28):
How many he could have kept stay in Toronto, put
up his twenty two and ten and gotten pounced in
the first round every year. But no, he is regarded now,
didn't they champions didn't hurt Tracy McGrady. He got into
the McGrady was a heck of a lot better than
Chris McGrady was a heck of him. Hurt him because

(10:49):
he was better with Bosh, but he didn't win anything.
But that's you can't compare Tracy McGrady because Tracy McGrady
was a top five player at one point. And you
know it, Chris Murpher that Chris Boss was one of
those players who could have been if he would have
he couldn't. You don't know that. I don't just look
at the box. Guess I watched his game. He wasn't

(11:09):
the top five players of mister Religion's history. I'm so
tired of the revisions, histories and history stopping. George didn't
make him a SAE. He did, didn't not not home
right now, said he could have come to la and
be with an agent superstars more interested in Hollywood than
he is with winning anything. We saw that this year.
We're terrible leader. Yeah, we see that. We saw that,

(11:32):
and you wouldn't even say they wouldn't have made the
players they wore though they wouldn't now when Lebron was
here and they had a chance to win. Look, they lost,
they lost Paul George. You're acting like you say. If
Paul George was here, they would have been better equipped
to withstand the absence the injury of Lebron, and George

(11:54):
would have held down the fort and then Lebron would
have stepped in. The morale wouldn't have been crushed because
there wouldn't have been the any Davis talk. You got
your second star. George and Lebron would have been terrific
together and they would not only have made the playoff,
they would still be playing. Right now, you're telling me,

(12:16):
Russell Westbrook, it is better to play with than Lebron
James you want you're telling you're the one who picked
fit with that roster. Is that what I'm not telling me?
You're the one who picked fifty three wins, Lebron was
gonna win the MVP. I could go on and on
and on about all the stuff you had with the
roster that Lebron had. Telling me that roster got to

(12:36):
do with this. I'm just saying. You're saying you had
already predicted all these great things for the Lakers without
Paul George. I ain't they would have been been greater,
because it would have been even greater. You said, fifty
three wins without Paul George, they were gonna win sixty five?
Is I would just say they would have if Paul
George was there in the fifty I don't. You're just
not following my logic. That's no, you're not. You're saying,

(13:00):
I'm I see said that Lebron didn't need him. I
never said that. They mean I didn't predict him going
to the finals winning the championship. Said all year, who
are you afraid of in the Western Conference other than
the other than Golden State? Who are you afraid of that?
You see Rob? When I make a point, you argue

(13:22):
something differently. Having Paul George would have made them better.
I never said they didn't need him. I never said
they were a championship team without him. I said they
were still a good team. And you put Paul George
in there, and they're even better. So now, if Paul
George gets there, maybe I would I don't know what

(13:42):
I would have predicted, but maybe I would have predicted
they beat Golden State. Maybe I would have predicted they
go to the finals. So that's got nothing me predicting
they were gonna win fifty three without Paul George has
nothing to do with this argument, this debate. Paul George
would have stepped in and made them better, and he
would have been on a better team than he's all right, now,

(14:04):
he has no chance to win a championship with that team. Now,
you would have had a chance. You would have had
a chance with Lebron three days ago he was going
to the Western Conference. Is that a championship? No, But
that's a point. That's a chance to win a championship.
I could just say that's not a chance. It's says
every that's you have a chance. No, it's not if

(14:25):
they're in the Western Conference front they could, they would,
They wouldn't got a heart. Nobody would would have had
a chance. You can't make it from every team better
than that would have. Guy doesn't even you don't. You
don't follow good logic. You don't when I make a statement,
you argue something else. Me saying they would have got

(14:46):
to the they could have got to the conference finals.
What is that saying they could have won a championship? No, no,
what you're saying he would didn't have a chance. He
Philadelphia could get to the conference finals. I don't think
they could win a championship. But it doesn't mean that
he didn't have a chance. You which everybody in the
NBA has that chance if you want to define it
that way. All I know is he would have been

(15:06):
you're telling me to answer this question, Rob, is it
better to play with Russell Westbrook or Lebron James Russell Westbrook?
That's what he picked because you'd rather be there that
he doesn't want to be under the Lebron shadow. Then
why did he sign off to play with Lebron in Cleveland?
If if Lebron would have committed, because he changes mighty

(15:28):
realize what's going on with Lebron in Hollywood arguing all
of the other projects. I'm just saying that's why he
decided not to come to his hometown. You'll turn the
way in, says Rob, just goes on table. I want
you during the break to listen to our super Tramps
the logical song eight seven seven nine nine ninety nine

(15:49):
on Fix eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox eight
seven seven nine nine six sixty three sixty nine. You're
turned the way in? Did last night prove that Paul
George may mistake by choosing O Kase and Russell Westbrook
over his hometown La Lakers and Lebron James. We will
continue the conversation with you. Next, It's The I Couple,

(16:11):
Fox Sports Radio, Bring the Logic Who be sure to
catch live editions of The Odd Couple with Chris Broussard
and Rob Parker weekdays at seven pm Eastern four pm
Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeart Radio app.
At Farmers Insurance, we know every windshield collision has a
unique sound. Beetle bird, boop, drone, seen it covered it?

(16:35):
Doctor Farmers, We are farmers under written. My farmers took
fire Insurance exchanges and affiliates products unavailable every state. To
Rob Parker's dismay, it is a worship wednsday love keep
trying to get rid of you, not at all. I'm
a man of the cloth. You just absent minded. I'm
a man of the cloth that I used to be
in a poultry salesman. I like that one. No, that

(16:59):
was good. Men of the club, I was pretty good.
All right. It's the Eye couple. Will's all right in here,
I'm dying in here, I'm I'm backing up inside your neck.
It's the Eye Couple, brought you by Truecar. Because car
shopping can be confusing turns like dealer price list, price invoice,
True Car shows you what other people pay for the

(17:19):
car you want. That way you can recognize a good
price from a bad one. So when you're raided by
a new, even a used car, make sure you visit
Truecar and enjoy a more confident car by experience. All right,
I think Paul George made a mistake. Should have went
to the Lakers. Rob disagrees. What say you? Eight seven
seven ninety nine on Fox, Let's start with GW in Cincinnati.

(17:41):
What's happening? Man? Welcome to the eye couple. What's going on, Chris?
What's going on? Rob Man? We're great man, Chris. I
unlike your partner, Chris, I'm gonna go ahead and answer
your question, and I'm gonna be able to answer your
question with help delving off into the Jeff k assassination
to O J. Trell, Lebron, James or Wycom Brady won't
win next year. Of course, you're right right now. I

(18:02):
guarantee you that it's gone through Paul George's mind that
I should have gone in LA and the scenario that
you brought up about when when Lebron went down, he
missed those eighteen games and Paul George being would sustaining
the team. Chris, this is one of my biggest problems
with Luke Walton. Normally, when the team loses a superstar star,
the other guys seemed to step up. Luke Walton actually

(18:23):
had young guys that didn't step up, and they didn't
play with any energy, and I think that was probably
woun't to their decision while he let him go. But
as forrest Paul Georgians concerned, of course he made the
wrong mistake. All right. Thanks for the appreciate good call.
G w back call. Let's go to Max and Georgia.
You're on the odd couple of falls radio. What's up

(18:43):
Max Friley talking to you guys. I wanted to give
a shout out real quick, Alex, Rob, g Maya, David
appreciate you guys as well. First of all, Rob, you're
definitely right on this one. Like usual, Chris, I love
you too, man, But how got you gotta explained? Rob?
Calling you out, holding you accountable to your your your

(19:06):
picks from the year about okay s going to the
fire the Western Finals and Lebron and the Lakers win,
share the loss ratio. I love it? But how does that?
How does that ends? How does that prove I'm wrong
about Paul George? This is how I think it proves it.
He would rather have stayed with Westbrook and the small
market and the barbecue and Okac then go to the

(19:29):
nice weather, the Hollywood, the the the beautiful women in LA.
He'd rather stay with Westbrook, the situation he's got there,
then go to le blame James, the drama situation ball
with Rob. No doubt Max, he just he don't want
to see, don't want you, don't want to But my
point was back and that's included in basketball. But I

(19:49):
don't want to hear about the barbecue and the friendship.
And I'm saying basketball doesn't know. But I'm saying, if
he's happier in Okay, see, I'm fine with him. I
have no problem with the person making an individual season.
That's why decision I'm saying, that's why it's just basketball wise.
Sean from Sacramento, what's happening man? The one on one

(20:09):
fire food champing of a boat over here cooking with
hot grease and the cast star in the day. Uh,
you know it, man, right out right out the box. Hey, man,
first and foremost man, download the end of Parker podcast.
You know what I'm saying. HERD Network out today. How
much you pay this? It's my man right here. Get
to the Sean. When I come up the point to
the Bay Area, Man, you gotta drive away. Y'all didn't

(20:31):
know each other. I don't know. I don't know Sean.
I don't know this dude, man, But y'all got you. Man.
You know lemon pepper offtop at the wingstop. That's the
way the usual, Sean, what's your point? But my point
real quick Man is first of all, Chris Man, I
love you, Man, I fear logic, you feel me. If
they would have got Paul George, there wouldn't have been
the whole hubub with trying to get Anthony Davis in

(20:51):
the middle of season. But I mean, you have to
stick to the facts, whether or not Paul George went
there or not. Lakers were a hot mess this year, man,
So you can't really we say that if this would
have happened, if that would have happened, it would have
been a better situation. And Paul George had a career year.
You keep down. Look, nobody did whether or not the
playoffs were career that he had a career year. Gratulate

(21:13):
See he had a career year playing, which you may
send five, which means it feels good to him being
then been bounced in five. I thought it was all
about winning, mister Parker taking consolation prizes. Hey Joseph in Stockton, California,

(21:37):
you're on the odd couple of Fox Sports Radio. What's
going on, guys? What's going on? So big, big, big,
big time Laker fan right here, all right, And this
is why Paul George made a mistake going to Okase
are resigning with O KC. Lebron gets hurt in December,
they were, uh, you know, I thought the Lakers are
never performed the West at that time. If Lebron goes out,

(21:59):
Paul is still able to keep that team afloat. With
Lebron out, Lebron are gonna getting no praise. Paul George
would have got praised for keeping the team afloat keep
some of the least seven in the West. Lakers are
in the playoffs. Paul George is not gonna have an
VP type of season with that team, but he's in
the playoffs, and I believe that they are massing to
the second round. What do you guys think? I'm with you, man,

(22:22):
I think we exa Lebron George would have been great.
He would have been fantastic. He was great, No, he
was great. The duo though, I'm telling you, a Lebron
James Paul George duo is better than a Paul George
Russell Westbrook duo. And I don't see how anybody can

(22:43):
argue that that's all the Brothers is saying. Plus the
sunshine all right, after a third straight first round playoff exit,
is it time for the Thunder to consider trading Russell Westbrook.
NBA champion Eddie House has the answer next, but first
let's get to David Gascon for the latest in. David,
I walk in here, and you guys got fans, You

(23:04):
got celebrity callers that are calling on in. You guys
got all kinds of things going on. It's gonna be
here with you guy. I am. I certainly am. That's right,
no doubt about it. Speaking of that, lots of things
going on today in Major League Baseball, Rob, I know
you'll love this. San Francisco beat Toronto today four to nothing,
but the Blue Jays who were limited to just two hits.

(23:25):
And now it's just moments ago that Vladimir Guerrero Junior
will be called up here we go, right, So it's
the most anticipated call up right, I think killing it
and it's perfect because they call him up. He'll be
with the team on Friday against Oakland. You have the
Toronto maple Leafs. They got bounced and the Raptors won't
play until Saturday, so you get plenty of fans in
attens on Friday night when they take on the Oakland A's.

(23:48):
Speaking of the A's, they got they walked off on
the Rangers today six to five Padres scrape by Seattle
one to nothing filex frnanda is stuff for the loss
in this thing. He would seven innings, get one bomb,
eight k's, but again suffer the loss in that one.
Kansas City beat up on Tampa ten to raise. Blake
Snell last just three and one thirds innings, get three runs,
five hits, and a couple walks in defeat, and then

(24:09):
guys in the National Footballer. The Johnson count District Attorney's
office has declined to follow charges against Kansas City chiefs
Wide receiver Tyreek Hill or his fiance. Now District Attorney
Stephen M. Howe said that although he believes that crime
had occurred, the evidence in the case cleared does not
establish who committed that said crime. Gentleman only in car

Back to the odd couple in just ten seconds, But
first a word from her friends and farmers at Farmers insurance.
We know a roof can withstand a lot, one exception
being an airborne car. Seen it covered it. Doctor Farmers,

(24:51):
we are farmers underwritten. My farmers took fire insurance exchanges
and affiliates products unavailable in every state, gentleman, back to you,
Thank you, couple, coming to you live from the Geico
Fox Sports Radio studios where it's easy to say fifteen
percent or more on your corn insurance with Geico. Go
to Geico dot com or call eight hundred nine four

(25:11):
seven auto. The only hard part is figuring out which
way is easier. And as we do every week, we're
bringing in one of our favorite guests, NBA champion FS one,
NBA analysts, mister Eddie House. What's happening, brother, what's going on?
Happy hump day? Fellas? Right? Oh man? Thank you? Well, look,
these playoffs have been great, but none greater than what

(25:33):
we saw last night. And I want to ask you,
Damian Lillard is taking it to another level? Has he
risen from being a star to a superstar right before
our eyes? Yeah, we're seeing it right now. And you
don't want to be a prisoner or the moment, but
it's really not being a prisoner of a moment. I've

(25:54):
been around basketball long enough and I've seen guys in
the playoffs figure out that they they go from thinking
that they are that guy to like, I know, um
that guy. And that's what we're looking at right now
with Damee. He going into the building knowing like I'm
the I feel like I'm the best cat on the
court and can't nobody fame me? And that's how he feels.

(26:16):
And you see him, He's comfortable and everything that he does.
I mean, that was a phenomenal series for him, and
I'm talking about a fantastic performance perform The way he
played like he never got rattled, and it seemed like
the calmer he was, the more rattled. It looked like, okay,
seeing and come up and more of them coming apart.

(26:37):
We see the more that Portland was calmed. Eddie helped
me out. How many game when he shots did you
make in your career? Like you know, to win the
game and walk a walk off shot? Do you know
a walker? Want one of them? One of them against
the Celtics. It's against Celtics. High picking role. Marcus Banks
guard me Elton Brand says, some picking row I go

(26:57):
off to the right elbow, full up, hit it draws,
wasn't was it? Was it you guys were down? Or
was it a tie score? I don't remember that. Okay,
I don't. I don't remember that. I want to ask
you this the only difference because I wanted I wanted
to find out about the mindset when it is a
tie game and you know, even if I missed the shot,
that's going overtime compared to being down, you know where

(27:19):
you need to make the shot in order to win
the game. Is there is there any different I don't
think there's a difference. I think you're raising enough to
knock them down either way. I don't think you're looking
in your head like, okay, I gotta say you now
if I missed this. Nobody ever goes going into a play,
going into anything that you're doing, thinking like well if
I miss. No, there is no if I'm about to

(27:39):
make this, and then you deal with if you miss afterwards.
But there's no there's no thought process of Okay, I
feel better taking this shot because I know that if
I missed it, we're going to overtime now, at least
not for me. I don't know if for anybody else know.
I'm just asking. I always think that, knowing that you're
not going to lose the game, it's not the same
pressure as if I don't make this, you know what

(28:00):
I mean, I'm gonna let everybody down. I don't. I
don't think you look at it as pressure, like I
don't think you. I think that's kind of over analyzing.
I think at the end of the day, you're looking like,
I gotta make this shot. I don't think that. I don't.
I know, I never have. I'm asking you because you
played in the big games. I didn't. Yeah, no, I
never you never think that. I mean the shot out
hit against against the Lakers in the finals to finally

(28:22):
give us the lead when we were coming back. I
didn't go up with that saying like, well, damn if
I missed this, we got all this game left. I
went up like, I'm about to knock this in, give
us this lead, and we ain't gonna look back. You
know that, And like that's that's I think that's everybody's mindset.
Nobody nobody thinks of the failure. Nobody works out and
thinks up the missing shot. We even just think of
were always envisioned making it and that's all you think.

(28:43):
You don't think ever a failure. Now, Eddie, people are
wondering what's next for Oklahoma City. Some of even thrown
out the idea that maybe they need to consider trading
Russell Westbrook. What are your thoughts on that or if
you think they should keep him, how do you build
around him and try to get this team to a
championship level. Well, first, let me let me say this.

(29:03):
You know how much I've been defending Russ. I think
Russ had one of the poorest series besides the what
was the game for? Yeah, beside that game, I mean
he was I mean, this is the thing he made.
The triple double looks nice, but if it failed, like
in the regular season, he did it for them to win.

(29:24):
The triple doubles racked up in the wins. These triple
doubles aren't racking up in the wins in the playoffs,
so they've becoming an empty stat in the playoffs. I
think he can't be the guy taking the most shots.
And I also think they have to figure out is
uh is Billy Donovan the guys for them because he's
not gonna And I don't think Scott Brooks was a

(29:44):
good coach too. I don't think either of them told
Russ what needed to be told to him. Is that fair?
I think that is. I think also, I don't think
because at the end of that game, there's no way
they up fifteen, then they was up seven, like the
there was no there was two. They had no like
awareness of time, clock, time situation or any of that.

(30:09):
They don't come down. Yeah, they come down Russian shot
um turning the ball over. And I think that goes
back to coaching where you have to look like, hey,
while he don't why doesn't he slow it down? You know, yay,
he has to call out something as much as you
are given. I think this is a discussion that hasn't happened.
As much as he's given Russ the freedom, Russ has
shown us that at times he's not doing well with that,

(30:32):
with that free not being responsible with that freedom, and
it comes back to cost him. So you got to
look at the coach holding him accountable. Also, Russ has
to take a hard look in the mirror because he's
definitely the blame for that. You know, miss shots make shots.
I'm talking about clock management. How he went about handling
the end of that game. I mean I was yelling
at the screen. Even though they did go to Paul Georgia,

(30:53):
he missed three out of four free throws and then
he also turned the ball over. I just felt that
was the best thing for them to do, is constantly
through them, and I think they just went away from that.
So moving forward to answer you a question, I think
everything is on you. If you're saying pressy, yeah, I
think your job is gonna line number one because your
cap is trapped over there. So you have to start
looking at how do you get out of this situation

(31:13):
and save faith and either save your job or bow
out gratefully. Yeah. Wow, that's that's good stuff. I agree,
let's go. It's the eye couple were joined by NBA
champion Eddie House. Eddie what about Denver? Denver got off
they you know, they had that great season, played so
well at home all year. They lose Game one. Most

(31:34):
people are like, see told you, they're not goodie, They're
not good enough, they're not ready. They got a lot
of young guys who haven't been through it, and all
they did was fight their way back and now they're
up three games to two with a chance to advance.
What do you think about Denver and what they were
able to do, because that losing the game one at
home could have wrecked a lot of team seasons. Yeah,

(31:57):
and that's a great thing also about being young, is
that you don't know any better. So they out there
just balling. They don't care about anything else. They whatever happened,
that game's over with. They believe that they're the best
team in the league, and you see it, and they
have no they don't know anything else except that, like, hey,
we are the best and that's how they play. And
they've been like that all year. They're they're a young

(32:17):
team with extreme talent, but then their belief in their
self is even more so than I think the talent
that they have, which pushes everything over. Like you know,
confidence is the is the most important thing in basketball
and every in life in general. You gotta have confidence
in what you're doing to be successful. I look at it.
I look at a team like Denver and I did

(32:37):
I've been doing them like Milwaukee all year long. Okay, man, oh,
I don't believe it. I don't want but they make it.
They're slowly making me believers, I mean, and they win
the series move forward. Sameything with Milwaukee. All you could
do is get I give them credit, but then again,
I'm in the back of my mind life, I don't
know if I fully trusted though, you know, I don't
know if I fully trust, So they gotta keep proving

(32:58):
it over and over until they finally, uh burning into
my brain that hey, we are something to reckon with.
But right now it's like I have believe and I
have don't you know what I'm saying. I know because
they haven't been been down that road. But the only
reason I brought up was because they lost Game one
and it looked like they could have folded and panicked,
and they didn't do it. You know, I just thought

(33:20):
the young, young team and don't have any fear. You know,
don't know any better Andy, We got about a minute left.
I haven't been this excited about the second round matchups
in the East, especially who you liking each matchup and why, Well,
I'm gonna you know, I believe Green, So I'm gonna
go with the Celtics because I think that they have
heart or your head talking, I think that my heart

(33:41):
ham my head. I think they'll have to even as
great as Joanna says, I think the best closer on
the floor will be Kyrie. And I think if you
go roster the roster, matchup, who can win the most matchups,
who can win their individual battles and who can make
plays for themselves and other I think Celtics have more
of those players than Milwaukee, doesn't. Okay, what about Philly Toronto?

(34:02):
I got Toronto for the same reason. It all comes
down to who can win your matchups? And that's what
I look at. You know, player, you know, everybody's played,
and it's gonna come down to a pick and roll,
some sort of iso who can make plays for their
self and make plays for the other and win their battle.
And that's how I look at teams in the playoffs.
Who has the roster that can outdo the other roster?

(34:22):
All right, Eddie Great Eddie House Champion FS one analyst states, brother,
we appreciate the knowledge, sir, y'all have a good one man.
All right, Dame Lillard has taken his game to another
level during these playoffs. But where does he rank among
the great point guards in the NBA today? Or to

(34:43):
use Rod Parker's term, Right now this very moment, I'll
tell you in Bruce Harry's Big Six. Next, it's the
Eye Couple, Fox Sports Radio number five at Farmer's Insurance.
We know the sound of a for hot air balloon
landing and a lusting perfect one. She covered it to

(35:06):
farmers were under written my Farmers truck fire insurance exchanges
and affiliates products unavailable every state. All right, it's the
Eye Couple, Chris Brussard and Rob Parker. And it's time
for Bruce ARD's Big Six. Are you ready the heat?

(35:32):
Like Lebron, We're going big. It's gold Town. It's Bruce
ARD's Big six. All right. Dave Lillard his matchup with
Russell Westbrook Lillard was so good it got a brother
to thinking, who are the best six point guards in
the NBA right this moment, right now, this season? Currently?

(35:57):
All right, number six, Chris Paul CP three. Don't forget
about him. Don't forget about him just because he's playing
with the great James Harden. He edged out Kimba Walker
in my list because CP three is still even though
he's not quite what he used to be, still a

(36:18):
great playmaker, averaging eight assists team high for the Rockets
in like thirty two minutes a game CP three. Still
a baller and you'll see it in the next round.
Number five Russell Westbrook. That's right, the great triple double
guy has fallen. He is now the fifth best point

(36:40):
guard in the world. Gotta drop him because at Eddie
House just told him time and score. You're up like
seven with two minutes left. You're up double figures a
few minutes before that, and they're coming down taking quick shots.
At one point, Russell took a contest lay up and

(37:01):
drew a charge, had an offensive file in nine seconds
into the shot clock in the last two minutes. No,
you gotta milk the clock. That's what the point guard
jobies to do. No time and score, no pace of play.
When to slow it down, when to speed it up.
That's why I got Russ at number five. Number four

(37:21):
Kyrie Irving. Yes, Kyrie Irving the best ball handler in
NBA history, probably the most clutch performer on this list,
the clutches point guard in the league. Just a great
all around player. The problem with Kyri, at least this year,

(37:43):
was he struggled in the leadership role, and if he
improves on that, he could move up on the list.
Number three Dame Dollar Damian Lillard. Yes, his leap frogged
Westbrook and Kyrie, Irving to become the third best point
guard on the planet. He is clutch. I would only

(38:05):
take Kyrie over him in the clutch, and I tell
him you it's close, I might switch that up and
take game in short order. Hit this tremendous shot last night,
thirty seven feet was not a bad shot, even though
Paul George said it was just because it was in
his grill number two. Look, they don't think he's a
point guard, and in my all time rankings, I will

(38:29):
put him at the two. But the fact is he
is playing the point right now. It's James Harden. You
can't deny it. He's a point guard right now, all right.
He's handling the ball. His usage rate, it's hard to
anybody else's when Chris Paul is in there with him
for the most part, Paul is off the ball, it's

(38:49):
hard and bringing it up. We know the deal. He's unstoppable,
best step back in the game. Can't stop him from
getting to the rim, gets to the foul line more
than anybody else. The great James Harden number one, you
know who it is. This brother changed the game He
is now the third best point guard of all time,

(39:10):
behind only Magic Johnson and Oscar Robertson. One of a
handful of people that has actually changed basketball none other
than the greatest shooter in NBA history, Steph Curry. He
is the engine, the engine behind what is going on

(39:32):
in Golden State. He's the key. And if you don't
believe me, check this out. With Steph Curry on the floor.
This year, the Warriors, the Great Warriors, arguably the greatest
team in history, was fifty one and eighteen with Steph
Curry on the sidelines, not playing in street clothes, they
were six and seven, a losing record. When Steph doesn't

(39:55):
step on the floor. I love KD. I know how
great he is, but Steph Curry is the most important
player on that team. I had an assistant coach tell
me the other day. Steph is the guy that when
he steps off the court, you goo, who glad he's off?
So Steph Curry the greatest point guard in the world.

(40:16):
To recap number six, Chris Paul five, Russell Westbrook four,
Kyrie Irving three, Damian Lillard to James Harden one number
Steph Curry, what's your think? Mister Parker hard, No, I'm
not buying that. James harden I would take over Steph Curry.
Just you put Steph Curry and James and Mike d'antoni's offense,

(40:37):
he'd be at least you're gonna play with you. And
you're right, and I loved offense. And he's only winning championship.
That's fine. But all I know is the game took
his team from him when he got there. No, he
didn't take nothing, did he know he didn't. I'm still
waiting for Steph Curry to win the finals, the finals MVP.
I mean, if you're the greatest point guard, you're the

(40:59):
greatest guy going. But he can't worthy won the finals? VP?
Did that means magic? And not at all? When when
when Joe Dumars won the finals? VP? Did that mean not?
Saiah time? It's just it's just that they won three
championship and he has not called bred Max. And he
was also the author of losing a three to one
advantage in the NBA Finals time conference that happened under

(41:22):
his watch. This great point guard, that's all stopping. Why
are you Hayden? I don't care. It is the eye
couple I'm Chris, he is robbed and we are coming
you live from the Guy Coo, Fox Sports Radio Studios.
Fifteen minutes could save you fifteen percent or more on
your car insurance. Visit Geico dot com for a free

(41:45):
rate quote and let's stay in the NBA. But move
on to Kevin Durant. Kevin Durant had a lot to
say recently, and he had a lot to say about
the media and how they treat him, how they cover him,
and his thoughts on the media going forward. Let's hear

(42:05):
it from Rob g You're gonna read some of the
quotes that Kad had. This was Katie talking to NBC
Sports Sports Bay Area. He said, quote, the media needs me.
If I wasn't a free agent, none of this s
would go on, right, None of this speculation about who
I am, what's wrong with my mental why I'm miserable,
why I ain't happy with life? Nothing? And then he continued.

(42:27):
He was asked what he thought about the uninterrupted the
players tribune and athletes taking more control of their narrative.
Here's what he said. I think a lot of media
companies are sad about that, which is causing a stream
between the players and the media because obviously they all
want to keep their jobs. They want to tell their stories,
but the players are telling it better. And quote, have

(42:48):
you ever heard of Pravda? Oh, I'm sorry. Isn't that
the Russian newspaper where they basically, oh yeah, go ahead
and share. I'll let you go, go go first. He
could not be more wrong. I'm serious. And guys think
the players tribute when you when they write a story
that paints a player in a bad light or real light.

(43:09):
And I'm talking about not a made up story, but
paints a player in real life, then I'll buy into it. Okay,
you can say whatever you want. It's the same thing.
You don't understand what it is that we do. People
go to journalism school. Let's say. No, I'm not talking
about bloggers and guys on their mother's couch in the basement. Chris,

(43:29):
you know what I'm talking about. You went to journalism school,
you got a degree, You worked at the New York Times.
I worked at big papers, the Daily News, the Free Press,
Detroit News, newspapers, and there's journalists who do this for
a living. Even fans don't want to be spoon fed
their favorite ice cream from the from the team that

(43:50):
they like, and nothing bad ever happens and the coach
is horrible. But you'll never read a story on the
website pointing out that he made a mistake at the
end of the game or anything. Who wants to read that.
What you're saying is people want objectivity. They do. I
think what Lebron James is doing, what Kevin Durant is doing,

(44:12):
what the Player's tribune is doing, all that's great. Like
I do think it enhances the environment of the media environment.
When you got Lebron getting other athletes on the shop,
You've got kd you know, writing an article even breaking
you know where he's going as a free agent in
the players Tribune. All that's fine. But that's just one aspect,

(44:36):
one small aspect of media coverage, of journalism. There's the
other aspect that is critical to our democracy, which is
a free press. The reason we want a free press
is so the free press can tell they're not beholding
to anybody. And remember that beholding to that player, to

(44:57):
that team, so they theoretically will tell the truth, right
and Chris and the player is not gonna do a player.
I'm not saying he's not telling some truth. But he's
always gonna give his perspective. He's always gonna put himself
in a good light, as just about anybody would. If
you write the difference, if you write for the Oklahoma
City uh Thunder team website, who's paying you? Chris? The

(45:22):
Oklahoma City thought, all right, you're gonna write that this
team is garbage and they need to get rid of
what you think that's up on the website, that this
team is garbage and they need to get rid of
Westbrook tomorrow. You'll never read that on the team website.
You'll never read it. That's my point is that's why
fans don't go to those sites like people thought that
they would. And it's not just the negative, it's not

(45:45):
it's objectivity. We think about politics, what if, like President
Trump's in right now, what if there was no free press, right,
and it's just whatever he wants out. He every day
he's telling the story about called Dick Tadership, Right. They
can't criticize the president or anything like that. And it's

(46:07):
the same thing on a much lower level, of course,
with these athletes. They don't want to be criticized, they
don't want to be called out as most people don't.
But the journey. The media's job is to keep it real,
no doubt about it. And you think Russell Westbrook is
gonna say he had a he might say I had

(46:27):
a bad series, but he's gonna analyze it like it
needs to be analyzed. Can I give you this right here,
who's the biggest star in the NBA on television? Charles
Barkley as Charles Barkley, Everything's great, oh wild, NBA is
the best. Here's a man who's right, who represents the
NBA on national television, who'll say this product is horrible,

(46:51):
I can't watch, or that player is no good, or
that doesn't work, or that coach had to rock. That's
Charles Barkley. Why is he popular because he's not a
home or he keeps it real? And to your point, Rob,
the athletes that successfully are most successfully make the transitions
from athlete to media are the ones who aren't beholden

(47:13):
to a player, a coach, a team like they just
tell the truth you have to. That's when it's bad
when you bring on that, say a coach, he just
got fired, but he still wants to get back in
the league and he's just saying all the right stuff,
everything's good. No, never being critical, never calling out when
mistakes are made because he wants to get another job.

(47:36):
Or a player who's an ex player who's afraid to
criticize players league, or they have an agent who's who
also worked with the other guys, so well, I can't
really criticize this guy because that's my agents guy. Do
you know what? They're all interconnected, So that's why you're
not getting the real story all the time. Not all

(47:58):
of them. I'm just saying most No, that's and that's
the thing. Like again, I I don't know how all
media members feel. I like what Duran and Lebron are doing. No,
there's nothing, don't everything, don't everything that's going to replace
traditional media, not at all. People still want I'm telling

(48:19):
you when you talk to fans and you know what, Chris,
I get this all the time too. People like they'll
say to me, man, keep toning like it is. How
many times have you heard that from people? Right? That's
because that's what they don't want you to. They want
you to fudge, uh fudge something or just spoon feed
them something when they know what I'm watching is garbage.

(48:41):
I'm not this is garbage, and Chris Wood starts telling
me what I'm watching is different, right, Right, that's the
guy I stopped listening to. I see Rob g over there.
You could be one of those fans, and I get it.
Rob's not a journalist, which is fine, that's just not
what we do, not journalism, right, So what do you

(49:01):
what's your what's your view? You agree with Duran? I
agree with him to a point. Now. The biggest thing
that you guys kept saying is objectivity of the media.
Objectivity of the media, right. The problem with that is
sports media is not about being objective anymore. It's about
what is Adrian Wojarowski not about being objective, Chris. All

(49:24):
he does is break news. Chris, did you schefter? All
he does it break news. There are a lot of people,
right is That is absolutely correct? But Chris, you have
also told me that there are instances where once that
news is out there, nobody cares anymore who broke it,
Nobody cares anymore that WOA chat it first, or doesn't

(49:45):
matter somebody from that. In the world we live in
today is not necessarily about what news is out there.
It's what's next, What do people think about it? What
does it go from here? And the thing is, most
of these athletes and I get it, people like what
we have at FS one, Fox Sports Radio, ESPN, the

(50:06):
read to do over there. It's about opinions and how
you feel about a certain topic, how you can use
what you saw to shape your opinion. And so I
understand why these guys are saying, Hey, you're trying to
speculate on my future. You're thinking what I post on
Instagram and this video of me with the closed fist
of Arthur the cartoon, like Lebron James, means something when

(50:30):
I didn't say it meant anything. I didn't say that.
I'm not referencing to something happened with my kids that day.
I'm not What is your I get what you're saying,
but what is your point? Like you're right there, there's
hardcore journalism, which is about breaking news teams and stuffs,
and they've always been that in the newspaper called a

(50:50):
beat writers. But everybody knows I've transitioned. Rob is transition
from being a beat writer to a columnist. It's just
on radio and television versus in print. So but the
point is, how does that make Durand right about like
he's implying that if players keep doing this, it's going

(51:13):
to eliminate the need for traditional media. Nothing. He won't
eliminate the need for hardcore journalists, nor will it eliminate
the need for opinion is because players are oftentimes tied
to each other. When he when he was critical of
Lebron and said he creates a toxic environment, and then
he tried to put it on the media, was he said,

(51:34):
stand by what you said. You said it because if
we said it, we would stand by. And that's the difference. Guys,
as soon as they get a little pushed back, they
all of a sudden are retreating, right, No, the Skip
Bayliss retreat, the Shannon's Sharp retreat, does Chris Bouchard retreat?
I retreat? I'm still waiting for Jordan see y'all always see.

(51:57):
But go ahead. I agree with you that then never
gonna replace the media entirely, just like I never think
that podcasting and digital ray is gonna replace the radio
as long as people got to drive in their car. No,
I agree with you. They're looking at different things, right,
But that's that's not even I don't even think that's
a that's like apples and or no. But you're saying,
I don't think that it's ever gonna replace the media,

(52:18):
And I agree with you, but we cannot say that.
There are fans and a lot of fans who would
much rather hear from the horse's mouth. I don't need
to hear that starting right, and Rob Parker speculating about
what Kevin Durant's gonna do when he can tell me
right now, you know what, But he's not gonna tell you.
That's the problem. I tell you one day, on July

(52:39):
first or ninth, or whatever day he chooses that one day,
But what about the other three? Like your dad said, Okay,
that's the free agency is a bad example. He has mentioned, Yeah,
that's good, that's a bad one. But he's mentioned he
didn't like the way that Steve Kerr was saying that
he he should dominate the ball less and that they
should play the war's basketball. But but who do you
wanna rop you wrong? What he's say it to He

(53:01):
said it to reporters, Thank you, thank you, Say to
reporters that who who got who reported it to the
public reporters right that the mead they worse than it
goes hand in hand. But what my overall point is,

(53:22):
I understand why he doesn't want to control the narrative
as I get too and I'm saying I don't have
a problem with it. My point is it's a good addition.
It's a great addition to what we normally do to
have Lebron every once in a while put out his
own views or dry put out their own view, their
own twisting the story, or just they're honest feelings. That's

(53:44):
a great addition when I read it, But it's not
going to replace when I read the behind the scenes
with it really real. You don't read that on the
tribute and you don't that they give you a nice
puff piece to help promote whatever. And if they retire,
what if that's fine. If they want to break it
into players tribute, that's fine. But I broken many stories
so have you? Where guys are willing to talk to us?

(54:05):
Could we build a relationship? You get trust with people,
And I'm telling you go look, fans overwhelmingly go to
news gathering organizations, Chris, not the team website. Right, that's right,
all right, it's your turn. The way In eight seven
seven ninety nine on Fox eight seven seven nine nine

he's embarrassed. Look at it. There there you go, all right?

(54:47):
It is Kevin Durant wrong when he says that athletes
tell their own stories better than the media. Does hit
us up? Give us your unvarnished true opinion. Eight seven
seven ninety nine. I know Fox. We will continue the
conversation with you. Next it's the Eye Couple, Fox Sports Radio.

(55:56):
we know every windshield collision has a unique sound. Beetle
bird boop, drone. Seen it covered it, Doctor Farmers as
underwritten my Farmers Chuck Fire insurance exchange that affiliates products
unavailable every state. All right, it's the Eye Couple, and
we got some great news for you. As a quick

(56:17):
and easy way you could save money. Switch to Geico.
It only takes fifteen minutes to see if you could
say fifteen percent or more on your car insurance. Go
to Geico dot com and see how much you can save.
All right, it is the Eye Couple, and we threw
it out to you. What do you think Can players

(56:38):
have their own media and replace us traditional guys. Let's
start with Chuck in Oregon. Chuck, Welcome to the Eye Couple. Hey,
this is Chipping Oregon, a big Laker fan, big fan
of the show. Thank you you know, I want players
to be part of the narrative. I think that's I
think that's imperative. But you know, players have to be
held accountable to fact and media is where I go

(57:01):
to get my facts checked in journalism. That's what I
rely upon. No, I don't doubt about a chip. Not
that we don't want to surrise point. But you want
to hear the real deal. You want to get BS
and and Sup. Somebody tell you what you're watching. You
don't know what you're seeing. You want to hear just

(57:22):
westbrookteil why they didn't slow it down last night? Why
I went for that shot with nine seconds into the
shot clock instead of slowing it down, or he could
say that, But then you want to hear other guys say, well, hold,
you should have slowed it down. Exactly what are you doing?
All right, let's go to thank you, Bud. Let's go
to Tim and Fort Lauderdale. Tim, you're on with the
Eye couple. Hey guys, I love you guys. Hey real quick,

(57:45):
you guys, you remember the looning to it. You guys
are like the wiley coyote and the chep dog. You guys,
you guys are best friends. When you're not working. But
when you gotta work, you guys go at it your
clock in and you just go at it your clock out,
and you hug each other. Don't love it, There's no
doubt about it because but we're not going to cheat
the fans. We both have opinions and we're gonna give

(58:06):
it all all all every show. That's how I can
tell you guys love each other. It's a great show, guys.
I really really enjoy it. Thank you. Hey. You know what,
I don't think the players can control their own narrative,
because if they're not telling you anything, if they're telling them,
if they're telling the media, you know what, you guys
just said? What what? What saves their ass when they

(58:27):
had a bad game? What doesn't make them look bad?
And you see it for yourself, U Duran's a perfect
example the sound bite everybody's been playing with who are you?
To the reporters, I forget the question who are you?
Who are you? I don't have to answer your I
don't have to answer your question. Right. How are they
controlling that narrative if they're really if they're not a

(58:48):
narrative to be there? Right? No, of course, and you
know what they have a credential on. There are credential
members of the media. You don't do that. That's yeah,
they got it. They're going the hey, who are you?
I'm a man, you're doing my job exactly to ask
you to pay to ask you questions? And who are you?
You're the basketball player that are supposed to answer a question? Tim?

(59:09):
You know what I used to say when players would
say to me sometimes you know, they have a pushback
and go, you don't know. You didn't play in the NBA,
And I said, you know what, you're right, but you
never worked for a major daily newspaper. You've never written
a column, so you don't know what I do. So
we're on the same page. That's what I would tell
him and Rob. Thanks Tim. If you want to take
it to the Instagram, say a player said that to you,

(59:30):
you can say, well, you're not an All Star, right,
You've never been an All Star, so you can't comment
on a better player that's better than you. Or you
never won a champions exactly. You're not gonna be in
a Hall of Fame like you know, come on, it
makes no sense. Let's do Ryan in San Diego. You're
in the odd couple of Fox Sports Radio. What's up? Ryan?
What's going on? Jim? But it's actually Brian, But that's

(59:52):
still he's shaking up from thanks last appear? Ge you
all right? You need a ice packer side? All right? Brian?
Go ahead? Yeah, Hey, what's going on? Jump? I listened
to the radio show every day, you guys rock. I
appreciate what you knew. Chris Prosy be on that stuff
all day every day. I believe you with that singing

(01:00:15):
you did yesterday, Yeah, I definitely believe you. Come on,
you know you were proving too that when I was singing.
I can't roll with I like, I like to get
my information straight from the players model. But that also
allows guys like you to hold them to a standard.

(01:00:35):
When they put something out there, you can't backtrack from
it now versus a guy just putting his opinion out
there and speculating. But I like to hear him here
straight from the players mouth. And I definitely love it
when they do talk and you get they take something
crazy or trying to backtrack on it, you guys call
him out. I definitely think it's a give and take

(01:00:56):
on both sides. But I prefer to hear from the
players and someone who's just speculating him. Good thanks, Brian,
appreciate it. Let's go to Julian and California. Julian, you're
on with the Eye Couple. First, I'm want to shout
out Rob Parker, the best commentator of all times. Many Rob,

(01:01:19):
you already know, hey, but that doesn't you just the
best theme music we got? All right, all right, thank
you best us. That's right for you right now. What
I wanted to say is sometimes the players take when

(01:01:42):
they say that coming from the media, their players take
can be genuine. When it's good news, like what we
saw the Lebron thing, it was always it was never objective.
When when the players wanted to speak out, it's never objective.
It's all agreement. I think the media has a perfect objective.
You get the good side, you get the bad side,

(01:02:02):
that's all. That's a great call. The players are gonna
speak from their heart when it's good news. But when
it's bad are you're gonna get the real story? Sometimes
it's where where you know, always say don't kill a messenger,
right because we're just going reporting the facts, getting the information.
Do you think I'm just saying, let's just throw it out.

(01:02:24):
Do you think Luke Walton is gonna write a piece
today about what the lawsuit or or the TMZ have
to look it up? Right? Nah? Right? You see what
I'm saying. You won't get that. Is that story in
the Tribune? I don't know. Is it the Players Tribune
Players Tribune? But my right is that no, they are
not doing that. That's what I'm saying now. If Luke

(01:02:46):
wrote a piece in the Players Tribune about what it's
like to be confused of this, that would be great,
but you still need the other aspects. Rob and I
both think it's great that players are doing the first
person accounts. That's awesome, but it doesn't eliminate the need
for the other aspects of journalism. That's all we're saying.

(01:03:08):
All right, Nick in Oregon, you're on with christ and Rob. Hey, guys,
appreciate the taking the call, no problem, but so a
little nervous. So I'm gonna try to get to the point.
I just I'm a little confused. When Durant was talking
about that they're better at breaking the news, what proof
has that in the past? And social media has been

(01:03:30):
a big thing going out there, and everybody's got their
Twitter accounts and all that. How much amazing broken breaking
news have been brought by NBA players, Well, just Lebron,
Lebron saying he was writing in Sports Illustrated that he's
going to Cleveland from Miami. Usually just something like that,
it's just gonna be that, it's gonna be that, it's
gonna be their player movement, which is fine. They don't

(01:03:53):
know about trades. No, they're not gonna break news about
something going on in the locker rooms, something negative, but right,
those stories you'll never get from them. So if they
want to break where they want to go, that's fine.
We're cool with that, all right, nothing can stop me.
I'm all the way up. That's right, Hip hop legend fact.

(01:04:13):
Joe joins the Eye Couple for Celebrity Corner next. But
first let's bring in our man, David Gascon for the
latest in sports gascons. The gas got a gas Can?
Which one? Come on? Name better than man? He can't
help himself? Can I hear? Ninety seven times per show?

(01:04:38):
All right, I'm gonna write a story in the Sports
Writers Tribute, Right, you had Joe Magazine, Oscar Come on, Chris,
I wrote, Yeah, it was it was a magazine just
for sports writer called Oscar. Guess what everything in it
was positive about. We were was like features features, remember

(01:05:03):
back in nineteen ninety seven. Yeah, even though he's Felix,
he's still caught a little soft in those days. Not
so much anymore with Rob Parker. Guys, we got some basketball.
We played tonight elimination for a couple of teams. Utah's
on the road. They're at Houston right now. Hart lopask
Appella slams at home. Go bear, We'll still retreating after
the turnover and couldn't get himself planted in the middle

(01:05:26):

Clint Capella Rockets Radio Network. Capella's got six, Eric Gordon
has six. It was quickly eight nothing Houston, but the
Jazz got right back into it. As it stands right now,
it's seventeen twelve Rockets in front of the Jazz. Keep
in mind Rockets lead this best of seven series three
games to one. Leonard Tonight Clippers and Warriors from Oracle Ran.

(01:05:46):

but first to work from our friends over at Farmers

All right? Thank you? David is the Eye Couple were

It is easy to say fifteen percent of more in

(01:07:17):

or call eight hundred nine four seven Auto. The only
hard part is figuring out which way is easier, and
we do it every week. We got a great one
for you today. It's Celebrity Corner. Oh my god, I
know for the odd couple. Celebrity corners. All right, Fat

(01:07:47):
Joe joining the Eye Couple. Man, it's great to have
you on Hip hop legend and diehard Knicks fan and
uh Joe, I mean for you to be a Knicks fan, man,
that's gotta be tough. I actually think they should add
the word long suffering in front of the Knicks nickname.
But you answered it for yourself. Man, I mean we've

(01:08:11):
been suffering for eighteen twenty years man, and I told
him Man, I threatened the Knicks. This year, I've threatened him.
I've talked to the I won't tell you who, but
I hit a hire up after the last game when
d Way was retiring and he was playing in Brooklyn
and the Barkleys is ramped back and everybody whose school

(01:08:34):
was at the Barkleys the same day that the Knicks
is having their last game. I said, listen, bro, I
give you all my life. I've been a fan. Don't
mess up next year, Bro, don't mess up. Got messed up, bro?
Right now, fat yall you know the scuttle, but the
word around the NBA is that KD Kevin Durand is

(01:08:58):
coming to the Knick Kyrie right, are you buying into it?
Are you holding out and don't want to jinx it?
Or do you think that this could happen. I think
it can happen. I'm thinking it is gonna happen. Guys, now,
we know you from your connections with the Rutger and
the Entertainers Basketball League. You got the connections, so you

(01:09:19):
know you got the connections with the players. I don't
know the school. I don't know to school at all.
I'm just saying it makes sense. Kad and Carrie. I
bought into the room up. I believe it, and I'm
praying day and night that we get lucky enough to

(01:09:44):
get the great Zion. All right, all right, let me
ask you about Zion. Was my next question. If if
if you get KD and Kyrie and free agency, and
you do get the first pick, obviously Zion, would you
keep Zion or would you trade him to New Orleans
for Anthony Davis? Put your GM out on I and

(01:10:07):
anyone else that doesn't shoot heroin in the arm or
keep the TI y'all wait a minute, Rob, Rob is
a heroine, a heroin at and fat Joe. Hear me, Joe,
hear me out on this? Here you are, hey, Rob
switched to fence to or it's a much nicer eye.

(01:10:28):
But but here's my reason why I wouldn't make the trade.
Hear me out. I wouldn't make it because your window
to win the championship is like four or five years.
Anthony Davis is only twenty five. He's not you know
what you're gonna get with Anthony Davis With Zion. A
lot of guys drafted first wind up being buss or
take time to develop. You can't waste kd No, sir,

(01:10:52):
read not. Dionzion is a mixture of Shaquillo O'Neil, Sean
Kemp and Lebron James. This is the cloning, like they clothed,
They cloned these people and they made him. I don't
know how they explained it to you, the guy. I

(01:11:15):
know how many men had meant something else to you.
I never watched college basketball in my life. I watched
every game this year. There's nothing like Sam. And let
me tell you something. If coach is get Sky, I
know he's the greatest of all time. If he would
have had some shooters around Zaions, some three point shooters,

(01:11:39):
no question, they would have won the ship, no question,
no question. Hey, I'm with because I'm with Duk shooters.
Duk have shooters, so they were able to fall back
and drop back one Zion. I'm with you on keeping
zye on. I am with you on that. If you
get though, Kay, Kyrie and Kas could be wrong, let

(01:12:00):
me ask you. I love Anthony David's like on another level,
here's top five in America. There's no question about that.
But what is the possibilities if science could probably be
the greatest of all time of something like I don't know, man,
I don't want to give up that. I wouldn't give

(01:12:21):
up that that chance. No way. Look, if you get
k D and Kyrie, their brothers are sensitive and the
New York media don't play around. Would y'all would you
with the fans in New York give them a honeymoon
and not be so hard on them if they don't
win it right away. And let me tell you something

(01:12:41):
we have. It's a double edged sword. It's a catch
twenty two. It's we have the greatest, most loyal fans
in the world in New York City, and we also
have the worse fans in the world at New York City.
They're the most disrespectful. I mean I watched them turn.

(01:13:05):
I watched them gold Man when he came to the
Knicks and we traded the whole New York Knicks from
Mellow and two weeks later they had brown paper bags
and they faced talking about Yo Tray Mellow. Right, They're discussed,
They're disgusted. It's the Eye Couple. We are joined by

(01:13:25):
hip hop legend Fat Joe. Fat Joe. You know, people
in New York don't have time for that if you're
not gonna do what's right. They got great teams like
the Yankees that win championships, so they expect a lot.
And let's not forget the Knicks haven't won a championship
since nineteen seventy three. You don't think fans have a
right nineteen seventy three, which is unbelievable. Man, Hey, man,

(01:13:51):
I'm not gonna lie to you. Man, I might die
before they win a championship. I ain't lying to you because, like,
if they don't make that move this year, it's never
been so primed up for this year. I mean, I
don't know what to tell you, man. And I've been
feeling like we got bad luck. Like every time we
try to put something together, they work, like I mean,

(01:14:13):
it's a hard man, being a Knicks fan. It's hard.
And I'm gonna tell you something. The nuts they're bawling,
and I'm watching New York switching like almost like really
going towards the past. Yeah, it's weird, man, it's weird.
Was it's weird, man. The energy's weird. They could have

(01:14:33):
a big summer too, if they get a big time
agent to go with this group, because they got a
nice group together. Really a problem. It's really a problem
if they get somebody, a big time player to go
with them. That Chelsea them is really a problem. Man,
I don't know. It's like that constant battle between who
runs La the Lakers all the Clippers. And we always

(01:14:56):
say the Lakers, why because they got all the championships.
The Knicks don't got aapionships grow right, no, no doubt
about it. It's like the fans are like, yo, I've
been wearing that orange and blue for a long time.
All right, all right, Joe, I got two gold questions
for you. First is you know who's the goat basketball player?

(01:15:18):
And then who's the goat in hip hop? Who's the
goat MC? All right? So the basketball is definitely Michael
Jordan's no if fans of parts my man, I'm with you. Nobody,
nobody can as for m Jay and I think in
the hip hop, I think it's jay Z. Just my opinion. Why.

(01:15:41):
I think because a lot of our rappers that we've
always looked up to and we've always loved, as they
got older, they deteriorated and couldn't move with the town times.
Even our rappers that I won't mention that I have
passed away, like we're not sure that those rappers would

(01:16:01):
be adapt to what's going on right now. True and
jay Z for twenty some years, that's consistently dropped number
one songs and number one albums. This is why I
think he's a go to MC. You know, I mean,
there's been a lot of moments in hip hop. There's
been the M and That moment. There's been a NAS moment.

(01:16:22):
There's been the Little Wayne moment, the Dmax moment. There's
moments in hip hop now you know, there's a ice
Cube moment. There's an NWA moment. There's a lot of
moments in hip hop. But this guy been around too long. Bro, Yeah,
are here? That's real. Hey, Joe, tell Chris trying to
bring Chris doesn't understand New York City because you know,

(01:16:44):
he's born in Iowa. You don't know nothing about New York.
But my wife's from New York, from the Bronx. I'm
from Jamaica. Queens. We appreciate how you guys take care
of the cattle. We appreciate, but then ain't running nothing.
We appreciate our Kobe beef. That's right. Tell Tell quick,

(01:17:06):
tell Chris about the mad respect the bronx hats for
Jamaica queens. Man, my wife is from Jamaica, Queens. I
ain't got no choice with the respect. That's why my
wife is from Jamaica. To Joe, I'm with you on that.
I'm not. I don't want to insult the brothers of Jamaica.
I work with a brother from Jamaica that's right side

(01:17:26):
by side every day, and I'm skeptical. Look at you
not do the women though. I'm with you on that.
On that, Joe, And what one quick question I want
to throw in there? Well you ever? Were you ever
slim Joe? Or you always were fat Joe? How did
that work? Well? I think this is the slimmics I've
ever been. Like, I'm like, you know, they call me

(01:17:50):
not so fat Joe right now, but it's still if
you didn't know I was, if you didn't see me before,
you know, when I was like close to five hundred pounds,
were that yeah? And big prom with six hundred and
eighty pounds, I was fine? And pounds wow? And how
do you not that tall? How tall are you? No?

(01:18:12):
I'm sixto, but I'm I'm I'm half that now, you know,
gratulations that's great. So yeah, so you know, I don't
you know, I'm shock and get skinny up. But I
don't know if if you know, my head to get
too big? What are you? What right? I love reverd Now,

(01:18:38):
Rever what do you do with Joe Reverend? Are you
on like you a vegan or you know? I'm on
a lifetime lifestyle diet where I watch uh maybe eighty
to eighty five percent of the cars and the sugar

(01:18:58):
like for life, like like you know, we staying with
you know, yesterday was we ate a little corn bread,
a little that. Back to today. I just had big
chicken salad. Nothing this morning. Ain't white turkey. No cars,
the cars, the cars. The cars is a killer. Cars
is the killer. That's no way around it. So you

(01:19:19):
got a new album coming out later this year called
Family Ties. Why don't you tell us about it? What
we can expect? Man, there's so much firepower on as
me and my brother Dre from Cooling Dre super producers,
we teamed up and made this joint album and Mann,
it's phenomena. And this there is the most patient I've

(01:19:42):
ever been with an album. So I'm on my way
to this studio now to tweak up some more, tweak
up some more so that when you guys get the
finished product, you say, yo, this is a classic. The
boys went in so you know that's what we're doing
right now. Man, it's amazing, It's pretty amazing. I love it.
I know everybody. I'm gonna tell you their new album
is fire, but this is fire, yo. Man, we can't

(01:20:05):
wait to hear. We appreciate you joining us, man, and hey,
we we for the sake of the league. I hope
that you write about the Knicks because I think it'd
be great if they could get back into contextion. And
and I'm not gonna lie to you. I'm a I'm
a I'm a low chi Lebron fan. So I would
love to see Anthony Davis go to the Lakers. I

(01:20:27):
would too good for the league. I can't tell you
what's happening. It's not happening. I never thought Boogie Cousins
would be going to the Warriors, right, we don't know,
we don't know. We do know. I'm trying to tell
you the Lakers aren't getting Anthony Davis. He's gonna be

(01:20:48):
wearing the New York Knicks uniform. Remember I told you
he don't know. Remember I told you that, fact Joe.
I'm telling you all right something. All right, fact Joe.
We appreciate the time. Let me give you a little
bit on couple. All right, go ahead, if the Knicks
gets tired, I'm gonna kiss the concrete pavement in front

(01:21:11):
of Madison Square Garden, the pavement where they go chewing
gum and they walk over it. I'm all right, we
got that on tape. See the picture. Ain't no turning
back from that. All right, guys, thank you for having
me on your show. A brother peace. You got more
of the Eye Couple coming up. Keep it locked. Fox

(01:21:33):
Sports Radio. At Farmer's Insurance, we know the sound of
a perfect hot air balloon landing and a Leston perfect one.
She covered it to farmers. We are farmers underwritten my
Farmers truck Fire Insurance exchanges and affiliates products unailable in
every state. All right, it's the Eye Couple. Chris Bruce

(01:21:54):
Sord and Rod Parker Man. Great interview with Fat Joe Man.
You know what, I He's gonna kiss the concrete. The
Eye Couple will be there. You know what what? He
works out for him, but I also want to see
him kiss that conco. But when ft started talking about
carbs and you know, eating the right stuff, I wanted
to change his name to fact to effects Joe because

(01:22:15):
he was right about the that's one of your better ones,
keeping locks from more jokes like that. It is the
eye couple. I'm Chris and he is Robbing. We're coming
to you live from the Guecoe Fox Sports Radio Studios.
Fifteen minutes could save you fifteen percent or more. And
when you think about it, that's not a lot of
time to spend to get fifteen percent of your money back.

(01:22:40):
All right, so visit Geeco dot com for a free
rate quote. All right, Rob, We're gonna stick with the
NBA because it's all about the NBA at this time
of the year. Uh, Damian Lillard has He's on everybody's mind,
he's on the tip of everybody's tongue, He's on everybody's lips.

(01:23:01):
It's all about Damian Lillard today because he took on
two players. All of them are stars. He's a star,
Paul George and Russell Westbrooker stars. But let's face it,
going into this series, Rob and correct me if you
think I'm wrong. Going into this series, Russell Westbrook and

(01:23:24):
Paul George were rated higher than Damian Lillard. Am I wrong, No,
You're not okay. So he took on two stars who
are rated higher than him, held in higher esteem, view
to be better than him, and he outplayed both of them.

(01:23:45):
He crushed Westbrook throughout the series to the point where
Westbrook was getting switched off of him that Dennis shrewder
garden him and according to Chris Hayes, who wrote a
great story in Yahoo dot Com also our FS one
NBA analyst partner, he said that Dame was talking trash

(01:24:05):
to Westbrook, like why are you switching off me during
the game? Come on, stay on me, because he kept
guarding Westbrook and then on the last play of the game,
the last play of the series, Paul George one of
the greatest perimeter defenders in the NBA. I'm sure got
some votes for Defensive Player of the Year, probably will

(01:24:29):
be a first team All League defender. He is locked
in on Dame Lillard and Lillard pulls up in his
eye and drills a thirty seven foot jumper, a thirty
seven foot rhythm jay in his eye to win the series.

(01:24:51):
It was a tremendous shot. It was one of the
most It was the most clutch shot we've seen of
the postseason. And without question, can we hear out sounded
from that to the front car? Ten seconds? Lellard I
Frowder gets charged five seconds charge backing out collar doesn't

(01:25:12):
want to pick Dan going for the land a three
pointer for the game and then pandemonium. That's the blaze
of radio network. And you know what, the announcer was
horrible on that call. You know why because what he

(01:25:33):
missed out is he didn't say that wasn't clutch, That
wasn't clutched. What it was a great make that was
wasn't claude. Wait wait, let me let me make sure
I'm getting this right. That shot last night by Damian
Lillard the okay, see Portland game? Right, yeah, I watched

(01:25:53):
the thirty seven footer, right, yeah, I watched the seal
the series, right, yes, I watched it. That are you
say that was not clutch? No, it's not clautch. You
know why the score was tied. There was no skin
off of his apple. If he missed it, they would
have gone overtime. And it doesn't mean it's not a
great It not doesn't mean it's not a great make.

(01:26:15):
It's a great make, Chris, Why don't you really believe
what you're saying? No doubt it's a great make. And
I'm not taking anything away from your No, I'm not.
But when you talk about a clutch shot, as a
guy who's covered the NBA since nineteen eighty seven, ray
Allen's three pointer was clutch. The series was gonna be

(01:26:35):
over and the Lebron and company were gonna lose. That's
a clutch shot. They were down and ray Allen saved
his bacon. When when Jordan beat the Cleveland Cavaliers to
win the series Game five and they're down and he
makes the shot to win it, that's clutch, I mean.
And what's the greatest shot in NBA history? It might

(01:26:56):
have been ray Allen's. If not that, then what Michael
Jewel Michael Jordan shot against the Calves. That was a
great shot to yet But it's well, I thought you
were gonna say it was Kyrie Irving shot to score.
You gonna sing it was not. Jordan's shot in the
first round to beat the Cleveland Cavaliers was better than

(01:27:20):
Kyrie Irving's three point up to give Cleveland his first
title in fifty two years, and this throne. If a
team that had won seventy three games, are you serious? Absolutely?
Because if Kyrie missed that, it wasn't the game was lost.
It's just like it's just like last year, the game
wouldn't have been lost. And that's the point. I'm not

(01:27:41):
saying it's not a great make, but Chris, there's no pressure.
There is no because you can't lose. How could it
be pressure you the overtime the guys talking about at
that moment. You know how many guys get caught up
in the moment when it when it really matters, you
gotta make a big shot, and then they start to think,

(01:28:01):
oh my god, I don't want to be the gold.
Those are the guys. That's why a lot of guys
pass up those shots or give it to somebody else
because they don't want it. If the scores tied, I
can't be a loser. I can't be the gold. I
can't be the goat because we're going to overtime, we
can still win. It doesn't mean it's not a great make.

(01:28:22):
It's just not clutch. That's all. When I look at clutch.
Ray Allen shot was clutch. Oh my god, they're down
by you by your definition, to some degree, it's not
the exact same thing. But that's almost like saying, you know,
if I'm not the star, if I'm not the superstar

(01:28:44):
and now I miss the shot, who's gonna kill me?
I'm just a role playing. That's not what I'm saying.
I mean, if ray Al hold on Rock, if ray
Allen missed that shot, nobody would be killing ray Allens.
They're not expected to make that shot, No, no, no,
But it's clau to be able to make that shot
when your team is down and out and is about

(01:29:05):
to be eliminated. That's a clutch shot to be able
to make it with so much on the line, and
when on the line it was siving comes back from
three one, that doesn't mean the game would have been over.
And the same thing last night for Damian Lillard. If
he doesn't make the shot, they're going over time. I'm

(01:29:25):
not saying to the grade. I'm not saying to data grade.
Make Chris is a great make it really is. It
just ain't clutch. My definition of clutch is when you're
in dire straits and you need to pull off something
that people did in order to keep your team alive
or to win a game in a big spot. That's clutch.
I don't think that was a clutch shot. I'll give you.

(01:29:48):
What I'll give you is this that if you're trailing
rather than tide, there's more pressure. It's a bigger shot,
no question. I'll give you that. Okay, it's definitely a
bigger shot. But I wouldn't say that just because you're tied.
It's not clutch. It's still a difficult shot at the

(01:30:10):
end of the game to win the game. Here we go.
I got the adjective uh for a clutch in the dictionary.
What is this? You mean the definition of clutch? Yes, okay,
here it is. It says quote in sport, denoting or
occurring in a critical situation in which the outcome of

(01:30:31):
the game or competition is at steak. And it wasn't
at steak with the score tied and nuts. If it
wasn't at stake the clutch, No, you can't. Wasn't because
if he misses, the game continues. No, it wasn't. Is
that was that game last night at steak? I get
I'll give you that. It means more, it's higher pressure,

(01:30:55):
more clutch. No, it's just clutch. It just clari if
it's not tied, if you're trailing. But to say it's
not clutch because the game was at steak, if they
if they don't, if he misses that shot, the game
going on time, and then you might lose, but you
might win steak. But you still could win though it

(01:31:16):
didn't mean you lost. And that's why. Hey, Rob G,
where are you on this? I'm with like, I think
most of America is Chris. We saw it on this one.
That was a clutch bucket. I get right now. I
get what he's saying. I will give you that, Rob
that if you're trailing, it's even even bigger, even more clutch,

(01:31:38):
even more pressure. But to say that wasn't clutch, Alex,
I'm kind of with you on this, Rob. It wasn't
clutch at all. He was feeling himself, he was in
the mood. He just said, you know what, might as
well send them home on something that looks good. But
Alex is a vegan, so that makes me less credible
in my sports steaks. Hey, it's a gas gun. That's

(01:31:59):
shot is cold blooded, but it's not Claus. Yes, it's
not Claws. He's got off from you, Gas. He's got
no pressure if he misses that shot. They had over
up in the series three games to one, right down
three to one and they're gonna be eliminated. Three to
one is not claw. It's on you. It's ride for you, guys. Claus, boy,

(01:32:23):
look at you. I'm talking about a maya. Aren't you
in your in turn up? Shouldn't you be leaving? Not?
That was all right? Let me go here. Paul George
said after the game, it was a bad shot. Can
we least agree on it? It was not my opinion, quickly,
was not a bad shot. Damian Lillard was five for

(01:32:47):
five in the series or thirty five footers or more.
He was eight for twelve or thirty footers or more.
If you're Paul George, you have to know that you
have to get up in his chest because he will
pull it from thirty seven feet and he did and
it cost you. That was not a bad shot. He
practiced his old shot. He's one of the greatest jump

(01:33:09):
shooters in the league. That shot now is becoming commonplace.
Steph throws him up from there, Trey Young throws him
up from there. It's not a bad shot. I wouldn't
say yeah, a bad shot, not when the game is
not when you're in that situation to put it up
in the clock is ticking down, So I wouldn't call
out a bad shot. So if they were down, or
if they were trailing, he would have tried to get

(01:33:30):
a little bit closer, a little bit better. He had time.
He drippled for like tend him, tried to get a
little closer. But I'm telling most people will agree with
me on this. It's not it's a great make. I'm
not poop pulling. You are what he did. You're pulling it,
but I'm pulling it. NA, No, I don't do that.
You know. I don't back up. I don't back up

(01:33:51):
at all. All I know is clutch to me would
be down and you come up with a big score
when it matters the most. All Right, we to put
it out to you as we always do. Eight seven
seven ninety nine on Fox eight seven seven nine ninety
six sixty three sixty nine was Damian Lillard's thirty seven

(01:34:12):
foot game winner over the Thunder and Paul George last night.

Was Damian Lillar's shot clutch as I think? Or was
it just a pretty good shot like Rob Parkers. I
didn't say that. I said, it's a great mate. Let's
go to market Arizonio with Chris and Rob Mark Mark Mark, guys, Okay,

(01:35:40):
what's happening it man? Hey, So that was one of
the most clutch shots I've ever seen in my entire lifetime.
It doesn't matter NBA superstar or role player, or whether
or not it's a it's a a tie winner or
tie Um Robert or ball getting kicked out it to

(01:36:01):
him in Sacramento. If he, uh, you know, he misses
that that that shot, Um, Sacramento goes up three one,
he hit it, He's clutch. Derek Fisher ball kicked out
to him. Hit the shot against the first clutch Jordan Clutch, Well,
Lard Clutch. Can you give me a big shot Bob?
I guarantee you all those shots put them ahead, not

(01:36:24):
not tied games. That's why he got the nickname Big
Shot Bob. And we could go can you sure ye
every shot they were down, they were down? Hey, check
that out, Rob, Rob Gee, can you look up go
with Wikipedia, Robert Rory shots and I guarantee you they'll
all put them ahead. So you gonna tell me he
would not be nicknamed Big Shot Bob not if he
just tied games. No he has. He didn't tie the

(01:36:46):
game last night. He won the I'm just saying that
was tied at the time, right, and he put them ahead. Mark,
thanks for the call. Let's go to Marty in Kentucky.
You're on the odd couple of Fox Sports Radio. What's happening,
Chris and Rob Time new Man? How are you. I'm good.
I feel blessed to talk to you guys to night.

(01:37:06):
I gotta tell you that shot was clutching. I gotta
ask you a question, Bob. A few weeks ago, we
were on the subject of the National Championship game, and
I do believe I heard you and Chris both agree
that you thought Cover took a bad shot at the
end of regulation, and you said the Dame Lillard, who
had no skin off his apples, he missed that shot.

(01:37:26):
And that doesn't work, you know the way I see it,
he misses the shot and he loses the game. Everybody says, oh, no, no, no,
no no, But you don't know that. I'm just talking
based on the idea that, no matter what happened, if
he would have missed the shot, just say he put
it up and it didn't go down. No one's gonna
crush him for that. He put up a shot and
going to overtime, you don't get crushed for that. But

(01:37:48):
I'm just telling you. They wouldn't saying why'd you sit
there and dribble for ten seconds? They wouldn't have been
about the shot. It would have been about maybe that
wasting time. But in this case, Marty, there's nothing to lose,
would it? High score? You're going over time if you
miss it. Thanks for the call ahead. I think Dame
proved himself to be elite, and I think he proved

(01:38:10):
himself to be better than Westbrook. I think Westbrook is
high volume, low efficiency, kind of like Rob's jokes. Oh Marty,
Hearty martyr volume, low efficiency, mort you naughties to live
in Kentucky? How could you do that to me? I

(01:38:31):
love you, man, I love you all right? All right?
I lived in South Kate, Kentucky. Hold on, we got
you work this Cincinnati, Yeah right, we got we got
the Robert Dory stuff. So Robert Dory, according to Wikipedia,
has hit ten clutched playoff buckets. There's no way every
half of them were with them either tied or behind.
More of them were with him from behind all right, well,

(01:38:52):
the those are the ones that matter move them. But
but they counted him clutch. They counted those within those ten,
those counted six of them. Where they were telling you
he's got four clutch shots. Hey, let's go to Josh
and Tech and Rob and what's up Chris and Rob Man.

(01:39:13):
I gotta tell you, not only was that one shot clutch,
his shot selection throughout the whole game was clutch. Point
Being with mcculor's being out, he knew he had to
step up his game. He had to be the alpha dog,
take over the game. Make bucket after bucket, and look

(01:39:33):
that shot that he took. If he drives the lane
and he gets stripped, okay, see makes a dunker lay
up on the other end, they win the game. Now
he's labeled as a goat because he could have set
something else up and ran a different play. Josh, but
this is this, this is what I hear. All that,

(01:39:55):
we could speculate all you want on all the other stuff.
My point is they're up three to one, they were
at home. They're gonna go to overtime no matter what.
There's no pressure on that shot. They're not gonna lose.
It's a great make, But what's the pressure. That's that's
my point. I hear what you're saying on them. There's
no pressure make or miss. They're still playing. I get that.

(01:40:17):
But to have the ice water in his veins. They
weren't calling him Logoleward for nothing. He's been making those
shots throughout the whole series, so he knew. He knew
when he let that ball go it was going in.
All right. I mean, appreciate to call Josh. I don't
think anybody agrees with you, rab Justin and those guys
haven't called in because they already because they know the

(01:40:39):
lines are full, but they know are jam packed. The
people who don't see anybody agrees with Let's go to
Justin in Ohio. Justin's rang too. Yeah, yeah, I am
not wrong. He took him back to the day. What
that commercial dropping dimes? Dropping dimes on him? That's clutch.
It's playground three two one, don't matter if you're tired

(01:41:01):
all behind clutching his clutch, No, it doesn't matter. See Justin,
I can tell Justin was a baller. Justin, when you
were a baller back in the day, I was actually
the high school basketball team. Water boys say there you go,
and that's where you're getting it from. Craig. Hey, but
he watched some great players just because he's a brother.
You think he played on the team he was talking about.

(01:41:24):
He was taking it to the playground three two one
on that. Thanks justin appreciate the call. What about Oscar
in Oregon on the couple Fox Sports Radio? So, Hey,
how you guys doing doing great? So I'd have to
agree with Chris on this one. Oscar, thank you. He's

(01:41:46):
definitely clutching. For the first time for five years ago
he ended a series again with a point nine three pointer,
down by two to close the series out against James
Beard harden Rot. Yeah, but you said they were down
and he hit a three. That's clutch. They weren't down.

(01:42:08):
It was a todd Rob. I think you're the only
person on earth with your definition of clutch. Nah, there's
other people out there that busy that having dinner and
doing other stuff they're doing largely they just can't call
him right now. All right, they're doing clutch stuff this evening.
You're busy, get the fire department or stand by, Rob.
We've got a newcomer, a newcomer to the hot seat.

(01:42:32):
You knew we're not nice to newcomers. It is Nick By,
our Fox Sports Radio teammate. He will join the hot seat.
He's an FS one college basketball analyst and a weekend
host here on Fox Sports Radio. I think he's in trouble,
but anyway, let's go to David Gascon for the latest
in sports. Dave, what's happening? I think Nixon a drop

(01:42:54):
kick both of you guys, so that should be a
lot of fun boys gonna get slog you know, we'll
see We'll see you guys right now. Third quarters under way,
Houston and Utah going at it. Harn pulls back on Mitchell,
shoots at three hits, its second three for James Harding.
Game tied at forty one. Rockets Radio Network. James Harden
in the ball game, five of sixteen from the field.

(01:43:16):
He's got thirteen points, but he's really working hard in
this thing. He's three of nine from distance. But as
it stands, Houston has a fifty three forty four league
ten oh one to play in the game's third quarter. Meanwhile,
Fellas are at the breaks. Second intermission from DC broad
long by Pessie to the slot turning base stop. We'll

(01:43:37):
a turnaround, bullet in the slot. Three twenty three left
in the second period. The Canes are back. Yeah, it's
three two Canes. Radio network that is in game number seven.
One of those things goes on in the second round. Meanwhile,
Major League Baseballs, it stands right now, Dodgers leading at Wrigley.
It's one to nothing. Los Angeles Diamondbacks are smoking the Pirates.

(01:43:59):
It's eleven to two right now. It's games in the
bottom of the eighth inning from Pittsburgh. Philly's blank in
the Mets. Still one to nothing. It's in the top
of the seventh inning from Queens Braves leading the Reds.
It's three one Atlanta. And gentlemen, your check in Julyne

out which way is easier. Let me give him some credit,
Nick Bay, He's courageous, is that right? I remember when
he had his own T shirt on TV show Bab
Bab Black Cheek. You remember that. Really that's a rim
shot him. Standards have dropped now it it was. It

(01:45:27):
was sarcastic. I thought it was funny. No, of course you,
Nick didn't even laugh. You gonna make me not go
see you in stand up. Nick's not on the area yet.
Nick's not there. You didn't realize. If you keep this
up right, I'm not going to see you in stand up.
I'm gonna be funny. You're gonna be funny. I'm gonna
be funny with it. It is this? It is it
that because your your your stand up is dirty? Right, yeah,

(01:45:49):
a little dirty? So is that the problem? Like here? Right?
This is that clean stuff? All right? That's it, clean stuff.
It's just not funny. I'm a little blue, all right,
all right? Anyway, Nick Bo He's on Fox Sports Sunday
with Dan Buyers, the Nick Bay and Dan Buyer Show
from five to eight pm Eastern Time right here on

(01:46:11):
Fox Sports Radio. He's also an FS one College hoop analyst.
That's right, it's Nick Vo on the hot seat, damn son.
The current temperature beyond. Couple are making it hot in here,
damn hot. Time to sit down in the hot seat, Yes, sir,
it is the hot seat the couple of Fox Sports Radio.

(01:46:32):
We do this every single Wednesday where we invite one
of our Fox Sports teammates to get into the squared
circle with the tag team champions Chris Brustard and Rob Parker.
Tonight's contestant FS one and fs our personality Nick Bars
in the building. Nick, how you doing this evening. I'm
feeling good, I'm feeling confident. That little bit of anxiety,

(01:46:52):
little nerves, but I was gonna say, Nick, I can
sense it in your voice just a little bit. I
can sense the fear. You need a little bit of
that though, to keep you on your toe. Yeah, that's true.
Tyson said every time he walked in the ring, he
had some fear. Okay, so we're not gonna take you.
You know what, guys, I don't think I would trust
Nick's humility because he told me off the air. Tell Chris,

(01:47:13):
I played D one, not that weak division three? Who?
Why did you play one? Nick? I did? Where? Wow?
I played for two years at Kansas for Bill self,
and then I finished my career at Creighton for Dana Altman.

(01:47:34):
So you were a hooper? All right? I got I
ain't shoot guy? How tall are you? Nothing more? Nothing less?
I'm sick too. Yeah. I knew he had to be
tall and nice. That's that was the difference. Yeah, that's
real basket the show today, Chris, can we move forward?
Not that division three? SS? Just mad because he played
junior hot? Sorry his career in did a junior I'm
sor right. All right, guys, let's get it right to

(01:47:56):
with the hot tea. You know how it works. We
invite one of our Fox Sports teammates to defend three
had their hottest takes in the world of sports. So
let's get started. Topic number one. Nick in the hot seat,
he says that Zion Williamson's not going to live up
to the hype, and in fact, at this point he
might be a little overrated. Nick, you got thirty seconds
state your case. Well, let me preface it with I

(01:48:19):
like Zion, but it's all relative to what you expect
from him. Is he a franchise player? I think that
is debatable. I think he's much better suited to be
Robbin than Batman, because to be Batman in the NBA
you better be super skilled. He did a lot of
bullying people in college. Good luck bullying people in the NBA.
And the reality is, Fellas, he's not a very good shooter,
and he's a total shot makeover. He doesn't really have

(01:48:40):
a position. He's not skilled enough to play on the wing.
He's not tall enough to play down low. He's only
six seven. Clay Thompson's six seven. He's a two guard.
He's gonna be a better version of Draymond Green. And
the reality is Draymond Green is really effective because he's
playing with three of the greatest shooters of all time.
That's what Zion needs. What I'll give you Nick is
that the hype has reached incredible proportions. Like some people

(01:49:02):
are saying he's gonna be better than Lebron James. I
think Stephen Jackson might have said that recently. So I'll
give you that the hype is out of control. But
he is going to be a very good player, and
I don't think he'll be a bust or. I don't
think he'll disappoint. He will be a star because today
in the NBA, the floor is so spread, even without
a jumper, it's easier to get into the lane. He'll

(01:49:25):
get into the lane. With his bulk and athleticism, he'll
be able to finish over just about everybody in the NBA.
And then this shot, while not great, I don't think
it's broken. Look at Blake Griffin now couldn't shoot the
lick when he joined the league. Now he's developed shooting
five six three pointers a game. So I think Zion
with his intangibles, he works hard, he's a good teammate.

(01:49:47):
I think he'll work hard and get developed a jump shot.
I think he is much closer to being the next
Julius Randall than he is being anywhere close to the
next Lebron James. I just it's a skilled lead. Chris.
You know how it is. You gotta be able to shoot.
You gotta be able to handle the ball, not just
one or two times, you gotta be able to I mean,

(01:50:08):
Blake Griffin now can come off ball screens and make plays.
I don't know if if Zion's gonna be able to
do that. I just think he's got a long ways
to go to live up to the hype that people
are talking. The way they're talking about stopping. What are
you talking about? Why in the world. I want you,
if you're gonna make a statement, I want you to
come out and say he's gonna be a boss. You're

(01:50:31):
talking about what you live up to the hype? He
dominated college basketball. All we can go by is what
he did in college. I hate to break it to you.
We don't know fipping guys. Anthony Bennett was a number
one pick in the NBA. He was a boss. This
guy's who are gonna be busting guys who come in.
Patrick Hwan average thirteen points in college and play with

(01:50:52):
his back to the basket. He wound up being one
of the greatest shooting big men in the history of
the NBA. We don't know there were some haymakers getting
thrown in that first round. We didn't know. I think,
I think I'm good. I'm good. I'm giving that like
stand count. But you know what, only one of these

(01:51:14):
guys played high level college basketball. Goes to Nick Bobbs.
We are not awarding points or predential. Maya, we're gonna
produce something. That's the second gaff he's made up this day. Maya.
All right, we gotta move on now. Round number two.
The hot seat, the couple of Fox Sports Radio Nick

(01:51:34):
Bobs in the building. But you know what, odd couple,
you get a chance to redeem yourself. Rob Parker's gonna
sit in the hot seat for this one because Rob
is the only person on the air right now who
thinks the college football postseason system is find the way
it is, Rob, you got thirty seconds state your case.
You'll never be happy with one. Oh not enough. First,

(01:51:54):
they don't have a playoff. We need a playoff. We
need a playoff. We get a playoff. No, not enough.
Team there's only four. It's not fair because team number
five and six were left out of the playoff. You'll
never be happy. There'll never be enough. That's why we
have the sixty four teams or sixty seven teams in
college basketball on the toorney, because everybody will feel that

(01:52:15):
they've been cheated. It's fine the way it is. We
don't need more. Let's leave it at in as is,
and the top four teams compete and sorry, you are
the guys who don't make it in It's fine, Go ahead,
nick listen, Rob. College football is the only sport where
you can win all your games and not even play

(01:52:38):
for a championship, let alone win one. All you want
is an athlete is a chance to control your own destiny.
If that doesn't exist in college football, the beauty of
sports is we can settle it on the field. That'll
decide who's better. Instead, we have a committee choosing who
gets a chance and who doesn't get a chance. To
do that, it's a no brainer to go to eight

(01:53:00):
bottle bids, three at large bids. The players wanted, the fans,
one of the coaches want it. I want it, Chris
Brossard wants it. We all want it, Rob, except you
come on now, it's a no brainer. No, it's not.
And the reason why there's a committee is everybody doesn't
play the same schedule and doesn't play the same opponents. Nick,
So there's no way you're twelve and no on some

(01:53:22):
school playing a Ricky Denk schedule. Isn't the same with
the powerhouse playing major other major powerhouses. And maybe you
have one or two losses and they have no losses
and they didn't play anybody. That's the reason why in
every other league, everybody plays everybody, so you can have
you don't have to have this thing set up with

(01:53:42):
a committee because everybody's had the same job. Parker, You're wrong.
Every other league you do not play the same teams.
In the NFL, schedules differ. You don't have the same thing.
And what if the NFL did what college football does
and we just say picked the top four, top six teams.
Look at how many times a wild card has won

(01:54:04):
the Super Bowl, they wouldn't have even made it under
this format. You definitely need to go to eight. Last night,
last year, Notre Dame gets bounced out. Teams that deserve
to get a shot get bounced In this day and
age of parody, after Clipson in Alabama, every they were
like eight teams that were very close, so you need

(01:54:26):
to expand the eight and you've got the time to
do it because you give them three months off before
the ball game. Chris Bruce are swinging after the bell.
I don't know if I like that one, but you know,
Terce Crawford, Rob Parker was fighting an uphill battle to
begin with. Score that one to Brussard and Box. Yeah,
when's that? Where's that racist thing for? Rob? Gi? These racist?

(01:54:52):
That was an easy one. Wow? Easy? And I am black,
yellow racist, my birth certificate, says Negro. All right, all right,
let's go last one here the hot seat Nick Fox
Sports Radio FS one. It's the hottest take of them all.
It's worth two points, so let's see how we do.

(01:55:14):
Nick says that he likes pepperoni and pineapple on his pizza. Nick,
you got thirty seconds. Try and defend this one. Listen.
All I'm looking for my pizza toppings is great complimentary
pieces and the combination of sweet and spicy. That's like
stopped in the malone of flavors. You get the spice

(01:55:36):
of pepperoni, you get the sweet with pineapple, and boys,
if you catch the right bite with a little bit
of pineapple, a little bit of pepperoni. That's like a
clutch step back Damian Lillard's thirty seven footer right there.
And I don't want the last thing. I want us
too much on my pizza. I don't need seven different
toppings and things falling off and it's just a mess.

(01:55:57):
Give me pepperoni, pineapple, and I'm nick that's disgusting. That's
nothing worse than fruit on pizza. Think about the fruit
on pizza. I don't want pineapple juice mixing with the grease.
I want pepperoni. I want bacon, sausage. Give me stuff
in the meat family free or even the vegetable family

(01:56:20):
with an onion or something, but fruit. I don't like fruitcake.
I don't like fruit being mixed with bread, none of it.
That is nasty. How dare you, Chris? We gotta, we
gotta stay a little healthy. We gotta balance the meal.
Isn't that what we were taught as athletes, hye level athletes.

(01:56:43):
We gotta get the balanced meal. We gotta get the veggies,
we gotta get our carbs, and we gotta get our fruit.
I'm trying to not only satisfy the pizza cravings and
the veggie cravings and everything. Get your fruit game right
when you're eating your pizza and you are now gonna
walk away feeling like a superior athlete while you're grubbing
on some pizzare it checks all the boxes. Christmas are Nick?

(01:57:05):
Are you pregnant? What are you talking about? Pineapple pepper
raba woman? What are you? I just can't even I
want the Little Caesars met pizza with meat and cheese
and bacon wrapped. I can't have a slimy pizza pineapple
pineapple to go on my pizza. It's wet, it's oil.

(01:57:26):
I don't know. I just threw up in my mouth.
I don't know whether or not to take the pineapple
and lick stamps with it rather than eat it. I'm
not interested in that? Are you kidding me? Give me
the me lovers Man. Nick had some great points the
sweet and Salty, talking about the Damian Lillard to Stockton,
him alone, giving go. But you know what Rob Parker

(01:57:48):
brought in the Little Caesar sponsor. Come after that? Yeah,
thank you, wrapped in six feet worth of bacon. Nick,
when you heal up, when you heal up in about
two months, come get some big gay some shade butter,

(01:58:08):
some cocoa butter for those wounds, and you'll be back
to as good as new in a couple of weeks.
I'm gonna go to Russia like Rocky and Rocky four
and train and I'll be back in a couple of months. Well,
make sure you guys check him out. Here is Nick
By FS one College Hoop Analysts and on Fox Sports
Radio on the weekends on Sunday with Dan bys The

(01:58:31):
Nick By and Dan Byer Show from five day Eastern Time.
Right here on FSR, Nick, great job, man, Thanks thanks guys.
All Right, the Washington Redskins are on the verge of
making another colossal mistake. We'll tell you all about it next.
It's the Eye Couple, Fox Sports Radio. At Farmer's Insurance.

(01:58:54):
We know the sound of a perfect hot air balloon
landing and a luston perfect one. Farmers are farmers under written?
My farmers took fire insurance exchanges and affiliates products unavlable
in every state. All right, it's the Eye Couple. Chris Brussar,

(01:59:14):
Rob Parker wrapping up another three hours. We just had
an impromptu hot seat Jason Smith, who's on next with
Mike Harmon, make sure you stay too. He had the
nerve to come in here and squeam on us. Yeah,
he what, he agreed with you, right, he screamed on.
He said lillard shot was a bad shot. He didn't
say whether or not he thought it was clutch, but

(01:59:35):
he said he thought it was a bad shot. Just
because you make it doesn't mean it's a good shot.
What I said, Rob is that look. Lillard was five
for five from thirty five feet plus, but he didn't
eight for twelve from thirty plus in the series. But
Jason made a great point. They didn't need a three.
He could have gotten closer and taken a better shot

(01:59:56):
of bloody. He could have been cold bloody from two
point one shot better from three than he and he
might have shot. That's why it wasn't a pressure shot,
because it was all they needed was an easy tool.
Speaking the bad shots, what about the Redskins. There's a
report that came out today that they're trying to move

(02:00:19):
up to number five in the top five, in the
top five, and they wanted The talk is that they
want to get Dwayne Haskins. Obviously, the Giants have the
six pick and they want to get in the five
or higher, so they can take Haskins, who apparently they
think the Giants are gonna take. What do you uh?
I think Rob and I like Duwayne Haskins. I think

(02:00:42):
the Giants should take Duwayne Haskins. I don't think the
Giants are taking them. I really don't. Yeah, well, they
must be getting some intel that tells them otherwise, at
least that's what it appears like. But here's my thing.
They would would think about what they'll have to give
up to get into the top five. You gotta give
up your pick, which is fifteen, and you probably got

(02:01:02):
to give up a lot more or other picks to
get into the top five. I like Haskins, but I'm
not like Sould that he's gonna be this franchise quarterback.
So what about I think they should just go for
Josh Rosen, who they might be able to get for
a second round pick. Rosen would good chance he'd be

(02:01:23):
ranked higher than Haskins if Haskins was in the draft
last year, if it Rosen was in this year, and
so I'd rather go that route so I don't have
to give up as much to get Rosen, who I
think could be just as good, possibly as Haskins. I
don't know. I just have no faith in Washington and
what they've done those last twenty years. How long has

(02:01:45):
it been. They've been awful. They made Sean Riggins retired.
I mean, they've made so many bad decisions. I don't know.
I mean, maybe, like you said, they're getting intel that
we don't know about or whatever, but I don't know.
It just seemed like the Giants are interested in any quarterback,
uh not at that spot, and um, they need to
do something with that from Washington, right. Yeah, it's a mess.

(02:02:09):
They are a mess. People don't even remember the storied
I'm not trying to say they were the Green Bay Pass,
but they want like three championships during a stretch of
the eighties when they were one of the best teams
and Chris. They now cover up seats because they can't
sell them. Did you see a couple of games this
year where the place is half empty? It's horrible. You
would never believe that that that Washington wouldn't be able

(02:02:32):
to fill in football steam And think about you gave Look,
you can never an injury as an injury, but they
gave Alex Smith all that money and hopefully he'll be back,
but this also makes you wonder about his future, which
we know was kind of in question as it is,
but now you wonder, is that somebody? Yeah, yeah, nah,
all right, it's the Eye Couple, Chris Brussard and Rod Parker.
