I'm watching a bad Sunday night football game last night,
and Chris Collinsworth says, this has been a real strange
year in the NFL. I'm like, oh, it's good. He's

been listening to a straight fire since like week three.
I mean, we've been telling you, is anybody good? Answer?
We don't know, and every week some chaos is happening.
It's one of those years where nobody's good, nobody's dominant.
A lot of like good upper crust teams and folks
that was on display on Sunday, and the favorites did
not really dominate. Your boy struggled in the contest, first down,

first losing week. Financially in the last four weeks. I mean,
I've had a great run and now the trade off
is good. I would four to ozho and fantasy things
are looking great on that front. But it was just
a wacky d I just don't know why some of
these favorites chose this weekend to let up. Was it
the opponent probably not? Was it red zone ineptitude. Hello, Patriots, bastards,

I just don't know. We gotta start, obviously with the
chaotic Philadelphia Eagles, who race out to a twenty one
zero lead over the Cowboys. Okay, at this point, essentially
the Eagles offense was We're gonna shut everybody the hell up. Okay,
We're just gonna throw the football. They come out, they
go twenty one zero lead on the Cowboys. Dallas can't
(01:42):
do a damn thing right. It looks like it's gonna
be a bloodbath. And then, as has been the case
with the Eagles for most of this year, the offensive
coordinator and a play calling the sequencing was just total garbage.
Are you ready for this? After the twenty one zero lead,
they ran three plays in Dallas territory the rest of
the game. I guess they thought, hey, let's just play

it safe, nothing risky. We've got an E league defense.
We got this. Well. When you put Dak's back up
against the wall and say, Dak, you're down twenty one, nothing,
time to chuck and duck. Dak's gonna put up the points.
The Dallas Cowboys had four hundred and seventy three yards
of offense. I mean it was kind of a crazy comeback.
Dak and Pickens have definitely a thing going on. Ceedee

Lamb drops a couple passes, drops a touchdown pass, Brandon
Aubrey misses a field goal. You know it's a wacky
day when Aubrey's missing a field goal and the Cowboys
still come out on top. I just I was fluxed
as usual. Listen, I'm not pinning it on Jalen Hurts,
and I don't know who the f is gonna do
that this week after this loss? How is this on Hurts?
He gets you at twenty one nothing lead, so the
defense can't hold it. And in the fourth quarter, are

you ready for this? Jake Elligot missfield goal, Saquon Barkley fumble,
and then your punt returner Gibson, the guy who was
cut by the Jets because he fumbled against the Steelers
zone open he day. You remember that Gibson decides to
fade back on a punt and I'm gonna field it
at my one and a half yard line, which is basic.

I mean, listen, I didn't play high school football, but
I know you don't do that. Rob g was a
high school football legend. He knows, get the hell away
from the ball inside the tent, just let it bounce.
Gibson fields it, which is aeron number one. Then he
tries to make a play in fumbles at the eleven
yard line. Cowboys recover like the Eagles. Basically, fourth quarter
was missfield goal fumble fumble. I mean that was it,

and they couldn't do anything after that. The offense was disjointed.
Brutal loss for Philly. Now, in the grand scheme of things,
Philly is still in total control of the division. As
I look at the standings in the NFC, Rams just
eviscerated the Bucks. We all knew that was gonna happen.
Easy lay up there. Rams are one, Eagles are two.
(03:53):
Eagles I guess still have a buy because they played
one more game than the Rams. Or maybe the Rams
hasn't been updated here, but either the yeah, okay, it's
been updated. So the Rams are one game up on
the Eagles. But remember Eagles have the tiebreaker because of
the Black field goal run back. The Bears are eight
and three, but nobody thinks that that's gonna last. Hey, congrats,
guy's gotten pretty damn lucky. You beat Mason Rudolph who

throws a pick on the first play of the game, like, congrats.
So it's basically Eagles or Rams for home field advantage.
I don't think so far is a huge home field
advantage for the Rams. I do think Philly would be
a big one. Obviously, outdoors, cold weather for the Eagles.
So this is a bad loss on that front. That
being said, the Eagles fans don't need to panic. As

long as you don't go after jail and hurts, you're fine.
They get the Bears. Yes, Eagles Bears. I believe this
is Let me check the calend Is that Black Friday?
Oh damn, damn. You know that families try to plan
stuff on Black Friday? And I'm looking at the calendar
and no, wife, wouldn't you know it, She's got something

on the docket for Friday. I'm gonna have to break
it to her. Hey, I'm gonna be on my phone
watching Bears Eagles. But then the Eagles have at Chargers,
should win that they'll be favored Raiders. Oh my gosh,
they are bad commanders. I don't know if it's gonna
be Jaden Daniels, but I would guess not. Bill's tough
one and then Commanders again. So Eagles are gonna be fine.
Let's not overreact. I just think at some point rob
(05:21):
this oc needs to get his act together. And the
place sequencing makes no sense. They are running into heavy boxes,
not going anywhere. There's nothing creative about this offense. Saquon
Barkley cannot get loose. Lane Johnson's on the IR or
maybe not on the IR, but he's hurting out either way.
Eagles didn't look great. I still believe though, they're definitely

one of the four best teams in the league.

See I don't know if they are. I think they're
capable of being one of the four beat They're capable
of being the best team in football on a weekend,
week out.

The problem is that when you watch them play, you
see all the stars. You see all the All pros,
litter Pro Bowlers everywhere and down that roster of front seven,
back seven, the wide receivers are running back like everywhere,
and it's like the sum is not as good as
its parts, Like it just doesn't add up to being

what I would consider it to be an elite football team.
Credit to them what they've done up until Sunday, just
like the Chicago Bears have done, just like the Denver
Broncos have done, is they keep finding ways to win.
Like you know, it's not always pretty. It's it's a
lot of times ugly and bad to watch, but they win.
And they came out it seemed like on a mission

like Gangbusters, race out to a twenty one point lead.
Jalen Hurts is slinging the ball over the field and
you look up and it's like, oh my god, like,
are they back? Is this the team that we've been
waiting for all season? I don't throw like this, but
the explosiveness of the offense, Jalen Hurts, you know, not
just only looking for six yard out routes and slams

like he was. They were doing stuff.

They're bombed of Davonte Smithel exactly.
Speaker 3 (06:58):
And then you see the next couple of three plays
negative two yards, punt end of half, three plays three yards,
six plays eighteen yards, three plays seven yards, and it's
like what happened? And then by the time they kind
of started to get their bearings a little bit, they
missed a field goal. Dallas comes back and ties it.

You know, a fumble kind of derails any moment and
they had going there and then they're right back to
square run like they they just can't seem to get
out of their own way.

Over and over and over. And I'm sure you saw
this penalty renumber. Rob fourteen penalties on the Eagles. Dallas
got three first downs just via penalty. Now that this
number staggered me. Twenty five first downs for the Cowboys.
That's pretty damn good against a formidable Eagles defense that
had Jalen Carter this time. So they've now played two
games against the Eagles and moved the ball well at times.

Remember after that was it lightning delay? In the first
one they did nothing because of the Lamb drops, but
in this one they did nothing for the first half
really and then we're fine in the second half. Coupleys.
Offense is good. Dak Prescott is good.

Like Dak Prescott, I know was gonna talk about it today,
but he's now what the all time leading passer in
Cowboys history.

Like that's no small feet when you consider the quarterbacks
that have come through.

There, and and it's not like they you know, had
a four to zero turnover advantage, right Like, it's not
like they had all these things working in their favor
other than the penalties. That that's a good point by you,
Like they were just walking up and down the field
to the tune of ale. Was that three hundred or
forded seventy three yards three fifty through the air like
like they were moving the ball very effectively. And if

they didn't have such a terrible defense, they got such
a bad start they be seen that people be talking
about heading into December, like, hey, watch out for Dak
and the Cowboys.

Have you seen the lines for next week's games at
all yet? Okay, So Eagles are hosting the Bears Friday
at twelve pm. I guess that's maybe three pm Eastern.
I don't know. I'm stunned at this line, but go ahead.
Do you want to guess with the with the Linus
Eagles hosting the Bear? As you said, yeah, both are
eight and three. Okay, Eagles minus four? Yeah, I was

thinking four to four and a half. It's Eagles minus seven.
So the market just does not respect the Bears at all.
I mean, listen, I didn't I hadn't planned to talk
about the Bears, but I guess we got to give
them their props, right, I mean, listen, they got to win.
Sure it was against Mason Rudolph, who we know is
not a good quarterback. Caleb did what he needed to do,
three touchdown passes. Right, I don't see greatness from the Bears.

I obviously see him provement over last year. They were
down their three starting linebackers and still got the job done.
Did not give up. Let's see here. They gave up
one explosive pass all day to Ben's goronic everything else
kept in front of him. Secondary, which has been much beligned,
pretty pretty good. I'm kind of sort of stunned at this.

DJ More of course on my bench in fantasy had
goes off for two touchdowns. You never know every week
who it's going to be for this team. But she
listened to Chicago's eight and three man again. They have
a brutal stretch coming up at Eagles, at Hackers versus
the Browns. By the body the Browns defense travels. We
found that out today Hackers Niners, Lions. So good thing

they got that win. They have one, two, three, four,
five six games left. They will be underdogs in all
but one against the Browns. I'm gonna go ahead and
guess they lose five of six, so I think that
win against Pittsburgh gets some eight. They'll beat the Browns
for nine and they'll finish nine and eight, and I
(10:36):
don't know if that's gonna be good enough for the playoffs.
I don't rob I'm not I'm not burying them, but
I do. Listen, Detroit did not look good today. I
mean not at all. JIMMI gives look, Jimmy Gibbs look great,
but the rest of that Remember the interior offensive line struggling,
golf gets sacked three times. I mean, the Giants defense stinks,
and the Lions does not look good. That's a warning sign,
but it's possible Lions were looking ahead. Let me just
(10:58):
quickly set the Thanksgiving Day line up up. Ackers at Lions,
a massive game. That's the early morning game, so on
the West coast, you know, we wake up and I'm
still like an East Coast guy. I like to watch
the Macy's Parade and so that's on essentially at the
same time as Ackers Lions, so I'm kind of jockeying
(11:20):
with the family for the remote. Then it's Chiefs Cowboys,
which is fascinating. We'll talk about the Chiefs in a
second and the nightcap is I'm gonna go ahead and
assume Joe Burrows starting against Lamar Jackson. Well and think
and the NFL loucks out they get they get one
to five of six teams have a winning record and
the other team has Joe Burrow and Jamar Chase off suspension.
(11:42):
Let me quickly go and talk about the Kansas City Chiefs,
who I will reiterate are not a good football team. Okay,
not this season, They're not. They have Patrick Mahomes, yes,
and they came back and did beat the Colts in
overtime Indianapolis. I guess off the buy wore down. That's
kind of embarrassing. This is, for my money, top three
stat of Sunday. In the fourth quarter and overtime, the

Chiefs outgained the Colts. This is a quarter and overtime
two thirty six to eighteen in yards first downs, Chiefs thirteen.
In the fourth quarter in overtime Colts zero. The Colts
led twenty to nine, but nine minutes left and then
they did nothing. And I don't want to hear all
(12:25):
the Chiefs locked them down. There was locked out city. No, no, no, no,
he wasn't. I mean The Chiefs defense did play well
down the stretch, but are you kidding me? This is
just the Colts being scared. That's what they were playing scared.
We got the lead, let's not screw it up, Daniel Jones,
and this is what's gonna be their Buggaboo Cup playoff time. Hey,
we got the lead. How do we salt it away?
Speaker 1 (12:45):

Wait, Jonathan Taylor, they bottled him up. He had fifty
eight yards rushing. If Jonathan Taylor can't get loose, you
need Daniel Dimes to be to win the game for you.
And in the fourth quarter. I don't know that he's
capable of that. And I'm sorry, I'm gonna go ahead
and say it. I don't know that he can get
you the wins when it matters most. I don't see
greatness from this Chiefs team. Yes, Mahomes put him on

his back late, did not have a touchdown, but did
everything he needed to do in overtime. Karei Hunt had
his best game in the season despite a fumble. Rashi
Rice got loose. Listen, this was a good win. But again,
it's at home, Rob, it's at home. They don't show
up like this on the road. We've seen that, and
Chiefs fans, I know you're excited. Six and five yep.

Looking at the old AFC standings, let me see, where
is Kansas City Top six, No. Seven, Buffalo eight, Pittsburgh nine, Houston. Oh,
there they are, They're there. Chiefs are tenth in the West.
This obviously helps their playoff positioning. I thought I saw
a percentage. I guess somebody had some kind of calculator
and said the Chiefs have like a fifty six percent

chance to make the playoffs, but if they had lost,
it would have gone down to like seventeen. This is
not that hard, guys. They just don't have room prayer.
They can't lose to and after that, wait, is this
a Texas two step? No, they get Houston at home.
Damn it, that's probably a win. So I'm a big
cowboy fan. Now, Rob, I'm gonna just be I'm gonna
be rocking by Michael Irvin Jersey on Thanksgiving and hope

that Dak and company. I don't see why Dak can't
beat the Chiefs on Thanksgiving. Kansas City's not great on
the road. They've lost their last three. So let me
call up the line. Let's see uh, oh man, Yeah,
I'm gonna have to I'm gonna have to be a
Cowboys backer. Here, go ahead and guess it. Rob Uh
Cowboys plus five, No close, Chiefs three and a half. Oh,

I'm sorry it opened it four and a half. It's
been bet down. See because I know that I know
Vegas loves Mahomes.

No matter what the record is and who they're playing,
They're always gonna get like an extra point and a
half boot bump no matter what.

Yes, yeah, I don't this Cowboys secondary. It was rough
early and Mahomes will pick them apart. But that as
us is good. And by the way, the Chiefs lost
Trey Smith, their guard. That's gonna hurt Dallas is pressure man.
Quentin Williams had like eight pressures up the middle. He's good.
That's a huge get. I will admit. I like seeing
Jets thrive elsewhere. Quinton Williams Sauce Cardner, I don't even middling.

I didn't notice anything that jumped off the page from
his game and overall, just pretty impressive Dallas defense to
totally shut down the Eagles. The Eagles didn't score for
the final forty one minutes of that game, like that's
pretty damn good defense. I want to go to war
with him against the Cowboys. Although me and David Baker
look kind of dumb, we were gassing up the Eagles

on this podcast on Friday. I liked the Eagles. Now,
I did make that dumb Dallas bet early in the week,
which cash I hated it and was going to buy out,
but I didn't. Overall though, I don't know, guys, I
just I don't. This is the evidence, the large evidence
in court that kind of seals it for the jury.
The Colts get the ball at midfield with five minutes

left and they could not move the football. That's assault
the game away. If they take away your right hand,
what can you do? You know you're playing basketball and
the guy knows you've got an awesome right hand. Just
make him go left. And essentially the chief said, hey, Indy,
we're gonna make Daniel Jones beat us either with his
legs or his arm. And Daniel Jones could couldn't move

the football. Cults only had two hundred and fifty five
yards of offense. That's embarrassing. And again, I'm telling you, guys,
I know Daniel Jones was awesome this season. No doubt
about it. But when the lights get bright, is he
gonn to show up in a playoff game and get
a win. I don't care if it's at Homer on
the road. I just I don't know that I trust
the guy.

Rob. Yeah, that's totally fair. I Mean we talked about
it very briefly on last week's pot. We were talking about, Hey,
if you just look at what we've seen on the field,
like the best teams in the NFL have been some
combination of like, you know, the Patriots are very consistent,
the cultimately very consistent, you know, and the Seahawks have
looked pretty good. And it's like, well, when you get
to the AFC playoff race and it comes down to it,

are you really gonna say to yourself, I'm gonna put
my money on bo Nick's over Josh. I'm gonna take
Daniel Jones, Ol Lamar Jackson, I'm going to take Drake
may or pat Like, it's really hard to make that
leap no matter what you've seen from the Big three,
like they have not. None of those teams have looked
great this season. I mean, the Ravens won five straight
and if you watched the last two weeks, you think
they were a middle of the road. If not, you know,
(17:17):
bottom tiered football team. They just have not looked good
at all. But when you look at the Colts, because
they came out like gang busters. I think at one
point they had the highest scoring offense in NFL history
through the first ten games, like or in Colts franchise history.
That's including whatever fifteen years of Peyton Manning. Like they
were that good and that efficient. And somewhere around the

start of this month November second, to be exact, they
lost to Pittsburgh. Daniel Jones play has fallen off a
freaking cliff, like, you know, one touchdown, three picks against Pittsburgh,
against Atlanta, you know, one touchdown, one interception.
Speaker 2 (17:55):
They had a bunch of lost fumbles as well.
Speaker 3 (17:57):
I think in that game in Berlin comes back off
of and he starts off good enough, like I think
he at one point was like thirteen of twenty.
Speaker 2 (18:08):
Five or something like that.

He was okay, two touchdowns and then to your point,
at the end of the game, when they knew they
had to run the football to salt this one away
because they had just got the ball in the turnover.

Nine of their last twelve plays.

Because of the defense that Kansas City was showing. Were
Daniel Jones pass plays? Every drive was a three and out? Like,
what what are you supposed to do there? Like at
some point if you're gonna be taken seriously, and they
want to be taken seriously because they gave up all
those picks for Sauce Gardner. They think they have a
chance to win it. Right now, what have you seen

from Daniel Jones that makes you think that that's gonna happen.
Speaker 2 (18:47):
That I would say that their path to victories played
with the lead salted away with Jonathan Taylor. But can
you have that against the best teams? Well, they just
had that. That's a good point. That's a very good point.
That that's a tough one. I don't totally trust this team.
Let's see here, Oh, they got to face the Texans
defense next. Now it's going to be at home Jags, Seahawks, Niners.

So they got some test left. They'll probably host a
playoff game. I don't think the Texans are Jags catch them,
but they're neither as far off. We look at the
standings again, it's like, yeah, I don't, I don't, this
is I don't think they're gonna host. So right now,
Patriots win again. So they're one, Broncos are two, Colts,
three Ravens, four, Chargers, five, Jags six. I mean the

Jags are not good guys. Now, there wasn't enough good
games for gambling, so I threw in the Cardinals getting
three late into the contest. It was just it was like,
all right, they're they're at home, they're getting a field goal.
Let me just take them. The Jags turn the ball
over four times. You you win the turnover battle four nothing.

You've got to win the game. And Jacksonville was somehow
able to pull it out because the Cardinals are just
freaking awful. Now, I will say percent to get hurt briefly.
They put in some backup who I'm not familiar with.
It didn't matter. But nobody cares about the Jags or
the Cardinals. We should talk about shaduor Sanders though last
week any way, before I talk about this Rob, I

should check Josina Anderson's Twitter was it was she was
crazy going wild. I haven't I don't follow her. She's
an insider, but she clearly is on the ends with
the Sanders camp. Chadoor eleven of twenty two hundred nine yards,
the longest touchdown pass of the season, which was fifty

two yards, or the longest play of the season, sorry,
was fifty two yards to Isaiah Bond. Their longest play
of the season. Chadoor to Bond on a bomb and
then that was eclipsed on a swing pass to Dylan Samson,
who is fast. Wish I hadn't cut him from my
fantasy team. After Judkins went down, Samson came in. He
is a lightning bolt. Holy hell, he just took a
swing pass and bounced, and Shadoor gets the witless. Let's

be real. Schador was fine. If we're grading him, I'm
giving a firm beat. He made plays. He did have
one interception I off the top of my head, I
do not remember it. No fumbles. He was dirting a
lot of balls that tried to limit mistakes, and he
made a couple of big plays. Listen, I get it,
it's against the Raiders, but you can't look at me

with a straight face and say JJ McCarthy, who was
in the system last year. I mean he looked unplayable
from Minnesota today. Chadour at least looked passive. Now again,
it's the Raiders, Okay J J. McCarthy facing the Packers,
who were like a top three defense. The Raiders look
like they've quit the offensive line. Let Gino smith get

sacked ten times. Miles Garrett had three. He's got eighteen
sacks with six games left. The record is twenty two
and a half. It would be an upset if Miles
Garrett does not break it. He's the defensive player of
the year for sure. He's unblockable. I don't know why
Rob's Raiders left. What's his name is durham smythe somebody,

some guy was one on one with Miles Garrett and
it was just like, what are you even doing? You
couldn't chip him with a tight end or double them.
Garrett was just dominated por Gino smith Man. And then
after the game, six million dollar offensive coordinator Ship Kelly
gets fired. I saw a staggering stat. Rob in fourteen
seasons as the Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll. Remember he's

been a good long run in Seattle. He never fired
a coordinator in season. He's now fired two in the
last three weeks. Like the ship be sinking now. I
don't know. I mean, there's a world where Pete Carroll
does not survive this season. Rob, I don't have you
seen anything that you would want him back because rest

of the way, Chargers, Broncos, Eagles, those are probably three
straight losses. Texans, that's probably a lost Chiefs. I mean,
we're looking at maybe three wins if they can somehow
beat the Giants. This is bad. This is worse than
anybody thought. I I don't know if Pete Carroll survived.
The problem is, I don't know if there's any great
coaches out there. Like a couple of years ago, you

had a hardball slam dunk. Last year you had vrabel Easy.
Who's the number one coach? Now? I don't want to
hear some defensive coordinator hot shot, you know. I mean,
we just go to mcveig's staff and say, give me
one of your guys. Do you go to Kyle Shanahanay,
can I take one of your dudes? You got Mike McDaniel.
I don't know what you do. I think they tried
to get a culture guy in Pete Carroll, and I

don't know that it worked. I either players are tuning
him out. I mean now they fired Antonio Pierce after
one season? Are you gonna fire Pete Carroll after another?
I just don't see what the point of keeping him is. Rob. No,
it's a very good point. And that's one thing that
I tweeted about after their last game.

Not I mean I I think I knew that it
was gonna happen at some point, that Miles Garrett was
gonna wreck the game. I didn't think it was gonna
be ten sacks, but I knew it was gonna be,
you know, five six at least. And I remember tweeting
out like, hey, at least we have a young head
coach and a young quarterback to groom moving forward.

Oh no, we don't.

We got the oldest coach in the NFL and a
thirty five year old quarterback or something like that, or
n Jennis Smith is. So it's like, well, what exactly

So it's basically Eagles or Rams for home field advantage.

point they had the highest scoring offense in NFL history
