Speaker 3 (03:17):

So she likes it too.
Speaker 1 (03:20):
When you come through, I was Thanksgiving smelling fresh pine,
nothing like fresh put no thinking that Thanksgiving was nice, man,
just chill, just the family.
Speaker 3 (03:30):
And then to the point we went out and got
a tree.
Speaker 1 (03:32):
The next day. Put the tree up. Now we got
to finish, you know, some things around the house.
Speaker 3 (03:36):
So it feels good. Rob G. You already got everything up. Yeah,
you got everything up, so good.
Speaker 1 (03:41):
Number first, and I just want to say one of
the things real quick. Today is my ninth anniversary moving
from Detroit to Los Angeles.
Speaker 5 (03:49):
December one, twenty sixteen. I got off the plane to
start working at FS one and Undisputed and Fox Sports
Radio wasn't in the mix. USC wasn't in a mix,
k NBC was you know what I mean, Like, just
came out here for for that and the opportunity.
Speaker 1 (04:09):
And I gotta tell you, I love my life in
Los Angeles. I love the nine years here and I'm
gonna stay here till I retire. But I you know
the song I Love l A. I know Rob G
is like, oh God, but yes he is, Oh God,
I read it. Court, you love it. You lived in
Detroit for twenty years, right, I mean is that?
Speaker 3 (04:29):
No, he's more like this is the longest intro ever.
That's more with Rob whatever, look at it all five
minutes for you.
Speaker 1 (04:36):
Just don't remind him. He's like, I need another day,
all right. We just got him back, all.
Speaker 3 (04:40):
Right, it would be nice if well, let's do it,
all right, let's welcome in the odd couple of crew.
Speaker 5 (04:45):
We wouldn't be able to do this fine radio program
without him. The uh was melancholy, rob G.
Speaker 3 (04:55):
I'll do that, No producer.
Speaker 1 (04:58):
Rob is back had to be full time with his family. Yes,
I know, I asked him all about it. But then
once we get on the air, you know I dropped
the gloves come off right there?
Speaker 3 (05:07):
Uh they're still eat leftovers? Nah? You got more leftover?
All right?
Speaker 1 (05:11):
That's the that's the question today, Elijah. I need that question.
Speaker 3 (05:14):
He was on it.
Speaker 1 (05:15):
He wasn't having any food. They were out of the country,
so so no. I mean that's the question of today
is can you still eat?
Speaker 3 (05:21):
But the camera on me? Can you still eat leftovers?
Speaker 1 (05:24):
On this here December first, of Our Lord and Savior, Monday,
December first?
Speaker 3 (05:28):
Can you eat leftover?
Speaker 1 (05:29):
Still?
Speaker 3 (05:29):
Rop?
Speaker 5 (05:30):
I think that Monday's the cut off, caught off? Yeah,
you could eat like turkey like I can. You can
still make a turkey Sam?
Speaker 6 (05:36):
You know?
Speaker 3 (05:37):
Did you not know?
Speaker 1 (05:37):
You and your mayonnaise on your turkey, samd and and
all that. It's all good, all right. Steve the Seger's
at the anchor desk. He'll keep us throughout the program.
Of course, Elijah is our social media gurule.
Speaker 3 (05:50):
Great to have him back. Yeah, another world wind strip.
Speaker 1 (05:53):
All over the world, save all his days off exactly,
and of course on the ones and twoes.
Speaker 3 (06:04):
All right, rob g.
Speaker 5 (06:05):
The biggest news going on in this sports world is
still percolating because Lane Kiffin has made a move he said,
thank you very much, oll Miss, but I'm blowing his
popsicle stand and I'm done the fallout.
Speaker 3 (06:21):
Yeah, we have a new pope.
Speaker 7 (06:23):
It seems like because we had the conclave, I mean
the con laying going on our weekend.
Speaker 3 (06:28):
Marty Smith God rested Saw.
Speaker 7 (06:29):
I know he was alive, but damn that dude was
at ole Miss facility for like twenty four straight hours
waiting for the announcement that Lane Kiffin would in fact.
Speaker 3 (06:37):
Did you really think he was not going?
Speaker 1 (06:39):
I mean, I really I'm stunned that people are stunned
that he's going.
Speaker 7 (06:44):
Well, he is, Like you mentioned, he's leaving all Miss
on the eve of the college football Playoff, which the
running Rebels will be in. We don't know if they'll
be in the top five, top ten, but they'll be
somewhere in the top twelve. And even still, Lane Kiffin
leaving Ole Miss to take the LS you At coaching job.
He'll be at worst the second highest paid coach in
(07:05):
college football, and his team right now left holding the
bag because even though he said he wanted to stick
around and coach them finish out this season with the Rebels,
they said, no, hell no, you're leaving, don't hit the door,
hit you on the way.
Speaker 3 (07:20):
Out with a splitcher.
Speaker 7 (07:21):
Stay in LSU and that's where he's at.
Speaker 3 (07:23):
I'm fine with that.
Speaker 1 (07:24):
If they don't want him to coach, I get it,
and we've seen that happen before. But I don't know
where he's the bad guy. This is the system that's
set up.
Speaker 3 (07:35):
You know. I'm waiting to hear from.
Speaker 1 (07:39):
Nick Sabin and Tom Izzoh and them telling me how
bad college sports is with the kids.
Speaker 3 (07:45):
Leaving and going to the transfer put. Where are those guys.
Speaker 1 (07:49):
I want to see those guys stand up on big
platforms today and tell me how terrible it is that coaches.
Speaker 3 (07:55):
Walk away from kids.
Speaker 1 (07:56):
And if you want to blame Lane Kiffin, please, people
have been walking out on kids forever.
Speaker 5 (08:04):
This is not new, no breaking news. This is the
system that's set up. This is the time clock that's
set up, right, this is when you can do it.
We know all the Lions fans had their panties in
a bunch last year because Ben Johnson was interviewing during
the playoffs, But well that's the timetable, right. You can't
you can't wait, you can't. You gotta get somebody in place.
(08:27):
You gotta get ready. This is what happens. So all
I'm saying is I do not blame Lane Kiffin. All
these people are like, oh, didn't you turn this back
on the kids? It was a shame.
Speaker 3 (08:40):
They had a magical teagion and he could he walked
down on them and this four years seat. Dude, there's
nothing new here, there's nothing special.
Speaker 1 (08:51):
There's no guarantee gonna win some national championship. And it's
an opportunity of a lifetime. And this is at jobs
come open. They don't come open every year.
Speaker 5 (09:03):
Guy gets an he might have it for ten years,
you don't know, or at least five or six, and
things happen. Maybe I'm the old mis reverse back to
where it was and it isn't that good or whatever.
After this group of players, there's a lot of the
things that play in But I am going to wash
the hands of Lane Kiffin and I have no issue
(09:24):
with it. Kids, bounce when you're ready to bounce. Lane Kiffin,
bounce when you're ready to bounce. I just all these
people do it, and now it's the end of the world.
Speaker 2 (09:34):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (09:34):
I'm calling him Lane Dipping because he's always dipping, always
getting out of there and nobody has.
Speaker 3 (09:40):
You have the absolute right to go where you want.
Speaker 1 (09:42):
That's true, but that doesn't mean people have to like it,
and to me, it also doesn't have to necessarily make sense.
I feel like he always as a case of the
gag grass is always greener somewhere else. Feel like he's
somewhere else is gonna be better. Go to else, you somewhere else,
canna be Alabama, somewhere else.
Speaker 3 (09:56):
Gonna be better.
Speaker 1 (09:56):
I gotta go to Ohio State, or like, I have
a feeling like this will something will never be satisfied
within him, which is fine, that's just prerogative, but where
you can't have issues where I wonder about the decision
to leave and specifically going there is a couple of things. One, Rob,
your program is better than LSU. You literally have built
a better bro You've done now what you hope to
(10:18):
do at LSU, which is build a college football program.
Speaker 3 (10:21):
They're not build a program.
Speaker 2 (10:23):
That's a chance.
Speaker 1 (10:25):
I can't tell you about what they did in the past.
I'm telling you about what I've done. If I'm laying kiffing,
don't tell I don't want to hear about that. I'm
telling you I've been here and we've been playing very
well to the tune now of the best record in
the school history and a chance of the college football Playoff.
And when you bring up you're mentioning that to kids,
that's the thing you're leaving them now.
Speaker 3 (10:44):
And I agree with you, He can't.
Speaker 1 (10:45):
The timetable sucks because the whole point you've preached is,
come here, we're gonna build something. Come here, we got
a chance compete for a title. Come here, we're gonna
do something that hasn't been done in fifty six years,
whatever it's been for them.
Speaker 3 (10:55):
And you literally are living that now. You have a
chance to compete.
Speaker 1 (10:59):
So you're leaving the college, the coaches do are there with,
You're leaving the students, you're leaving everybody that's a part
of this program that helped build it to the point
of getting to where you want to get to. You're
going to LSU to hope to compete for a title.
You literally have a chance to now. So that part
of it doesn't make sense to me. If they were
a good team nine and three and competitive, and he
just felt like, oh, I can understand it. You're literally
(11:21):
having an opportunity to compete for a championship, So that
part of it I don't get. And then the other
thing to at LSU is you gotta you gotta be
careful what you wish for. In a sense of it
is just checking a box. Because you can go there.
We've seen Brian Kelly just got a whole bunch of
money to leave fifty some million dollars.
Speaker 3 (11:37):
But ain't no guarantee you.
Speaker 1 (11:38):
Can go there and be man and then you're gone
in three four years and what will have happened.
Speaker 3 (11:43):
You've been another coach at LSU that was there and
you want a few games.
Speaker 1 (11:45):
Oh you might go there and win back to back championships?
How about that and do something as special. Yeah, you
could do that as well. You could have did it
at all, miss No, But you now it ain't no
old back to back championships an ass because I just dowy.
If I told you he was gonna run off a
decade of greatness, you'd be like, yeah, right, it happened.
Speaker 3 (12:04):
If I told you what Miami read and they've had
great coaches.
Speaker 1 (12:10):
Nick Saban went down there unless all these people because
there's something there and maybe this was one of his dreams.
So that for people just like a kid who's somewhere
and they go to to Michigan or whatever. They could
have gone to Ohio State, but that might have been
their dream or that that's school. That's Howard. He's from Cleveland.
Everybody was like, what are you leaving? So again, that's
(12:31):
his absolute prerogative. And I don't necessarily I don't mind
in the sense that this is like I would have
been more shot for lane Kiffin to stay because that
would be counter with Lane Kiffin is typically done. But
they hired him knowing his history, right, That's what I'm saying.
So shocking would have been more if he was, like you.
Speaker 3 (12:47):
Know what, I didn't doubt at all that.
Speaker 1 (12:49):
He was going, But I just wonder, like what for him,
what's he what's he chasing? Like what it feels like
it for him, Like, I don't know if I gotta
do this, I gotta do that because you got a
great situation, the man, you created something there, you got
a chance to compete. You're a better organize, you're a
better program. Right now, I'm not saying historically right now.
Speaker 5 (13:07):
But he can look at it and say, look look
at what I was able to do there. Imagine if
I had all these LSU resources.
Speaker 1 (13:15):
And people know the governor, Ope, the governor. You got
about the governor tell you to get up out of here.
The government. Don't be playing around the governator be paying
attention out there in Louisiana.
Speaker 3 (13:24):
It's it's it's the way things work in life.
Speaker 5 (13:27):
There's opportunities that come and people will look back and
sometimes you'll regret that you didn't take a great opportunity,
you know, something that you really wanted to do.
Speaker 1 (13:37):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (13:37):
And I believe that that's what it is.
Speaker 1 (13:39):
He's one of those guys who's not staying for twenty years.
Speaker 3 (13:43):
That's not his make not his makeup.
Speaker 1 (13:45):
So I don't know why people are so worked up
and they can boom him as he gets on his
private plane to.
Speaker 3 (13:50):
Go to bath Rouge or whatever they want to do. Well,
you know he has. It's also interesting about Lane Kevin.
Speaker 1 (13:55):
God have got that Chip Kelly of what I was
talking about failing up and that he hasn't. He hasn't
even won a conference title in his career. Like he
keeps getting opportunities. That's how few people there are. And
those are the names Lincoln Broley got.
Speaker 3 (14:09):
Look at the deal he got at Uscwich. What does
he want? There are certain people that thing. I agree
with you.
Speaker 5 (14:15):
Again, no big games, always the same situation.
Speaker 3 (14:18):
And then he's mad at everybody else.
Speaker 5 (14:20):
Yeah, and people looking at at usc and go oh
you know, no, no, when.
Speaker 3 (14:24):
You hired him, get him all that, lou he hadn't won.
Speaker 1 (14:26):
An ye, so what you thought you were gonna get Caleb?
You did and he got a heisman, but they didn't
win any big games. So my point is Lang Kiffin
is he still has a lot to prove in that
sense of actually winning something big. He's turned he's turned
floor that athletic around, obviously turned Old Miss around. But
that's the thing to me is the crazy is that
he's competing. He has a chance to win a national
(14:48):
title this year, who knows what happened, and he's leaving
out on that. That's the only part for me that's
really crazy. That's the whole point, which compete.
Speaker 3 (14:54):
For all right?
Speaker 5 (14:55):
Eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox eight seven seven
nine nine six sixty three sixty on do you blame
Lane Kiffin for leaving all Miss before the playoff and
jumping of course to LSU. We'll continue that conversation next

Washington in full effect here on The Odd Couple, and

Where's he ranked? Right now?
Speaker 1 (16:52):
We'll do that next as well. All right, who is
that your MVP? You wouldnay it?
Speaker 3 (16:57):
How is he not? Still? Can we argue? We're gonna
get these phoks? That was so good, like because you
anointed him and you know, did he have to stinker?
Like you don't? You know you're gonna call hello, did
you see him? Are you watching this figured out? Wait
until you got it? All right?
Speaker 1 (17:12):
Eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox, Lane Kiffin aka
Lange Diffin, he's gone.
Speaker 3 (17:17):
You got a problem with it? Issues whatsoever?
Speaker 5 (17:20):
Dan in Orange County, California, you're on the odd couple
of Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 3 (17:25):
What's up Dan?
Speaker 8 (17:27):
Hi?
Speaker 9 (17:27):
Thanks? Yeah, I'm glad he's coming. I graduated LSU. I
think he probably wanted to coach his team, but the
logistics in the calendar were a nightmare.
Speaker 1 (17:35):
Right, there's nothing he could do with that, Right, that's
just the calendar that's on them. They just said, all right, fine,
But I get why they wouldn't. It's too much, too close,
too much recruiting, too much, all that go ahead.
Speaker 9 (17:45):
Yeah, and then there is a bump between LSU and
UH and oldness in terms of recruiting. If you look
at our recruiting classes at LSU for like the last
you know, twenty whatever years, our worst recruiting class is
like one of gold Mis's.
Speaker 3 (18:01):
I agree with. I agree.
Speaker 5 (18:02):
I thought that you hast has no doubt about it
attracts better athletes.
Speaker 3 (18:07):
Thanks a lot, damn appreciate it.
Speaker 5 (18:10):
Larry in New Orleans joined the odd Couple of Fox
Sports Radio.
Speaker 3 (18:14):
What's up, Larry?
Speaker 8 (18:15):
Hey? Thanks Tayn to Colin makes a good point there.
It's it's the talent in Louisiana that Layne's chasing. And
all he's doing is following the Nick Saban blueprint and
it goes through mis good state ofsu and Alabama, and
going to Alabama is just perfect timing, being in the
(18:36):
right place and waiting long enough after the bear's gone.
But yeah, the high school talent, that's why he's coming.
And uh yeah, nobody can can be upset about it.
And you won't be hearing from Nick because again he
he's just following the blueprint.
Speaker 1 (18:54):
No, I get it, But I'm just saying, when those
guys go after the kids is what I don't like that.
I agree with you, Rob, because we don't like coach
has been leaving for fifty years, sixty, you know, whatever,
they feel like, going somewhere wherever the grass is green
and more money, just whatever the opportunity.
Speaker 3 (19:10):
I went to.
Speaker 1 (19:10):
The school is Mahama Mater. Coach is always leaving and
it had been an issue historically with kids. Obviously now
the transportal is different, but coaches always leaving. If you're
gonna be critical of them, you need to be critical
to coaches, not just the students, No doubt. Joe in Nashville,
you're on the eye couple of Fox Sports Radio what's up, Joe?
Speaker 6 (19:28):
Hey, Hey, what's up, guys?
Speaker 3 (19:30):
How are you Yo? I'm good.
Speaker 6 (19:32):
I'm joining that cot with saying I'm a question. You
remember when Florida State quarterback got hurt and one of
the committee's decision not to let them.
Speaker 2 (19:43):
Go because the quarterback, Yeah, isn't a head coach. That's
important as a quarterback.
Speaker 3 (19:51):
That's interesting. That is interesting.
Speaker 1 (19:54):
The only thing I could think of is that they
don't want to punish the kids, you know. But I know,
but I'm saying instead of a coach. But that's a
great point. That's a great you make a very very
new point, Joe. I'll be coming out here thinking on
the Monday.
Speaker 5 (20:07):
I know Andre in Massachusetts, you're on the couple of
Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 3 (20:12):
What's up, Dre? How was your Turkey Day?
Speaker 6 (20:15):
Thank you doing thanks taking a call. Turkey Day was good, RESTful,
you know, mini holiday there and now kind of back
at it, powering through, you know, into uh, you know,
the later holidays, going to New Year. Very excited. But listen,
in terms of Lane Kiffin, he is who we thought
he was. All right, this has been his and most
right he goes to Tennessee. Right, you know what I mean,
(20:37):
he dropped, you got the droll now Southern accents talking about.
Speaker 1 (20:41):
How he wants to.
Speaker 6 (20:42):
You know, have his jersey up there with Peyton Manning
usc comes in, you know, secure as a bag for him.
He's gone after one year. So right then and there,
the people at Old Miss should have known who they
were dealing with. Fool me wants shame on you. Fool
me twice. It's got to be shame on me. And
now here's the thing, Rob, You have alluded to it
with Lane Kiffin because he's got these opportunit unities, but
he hasn't always made well on them. So he had
(21:03):
to go the coordinator route at Alabama, he had to
take some you know, mid major jobs at what Florida Atlantic.
Speaker 9 (21:10):
So he built himself up.
Speaker 6 (21:11):
So I think now this is his opportunity to get
back on that Power five, you know, one of the
you know programs that's going to spend dollar for dollar
with everyone else in the country and to now be
you know, on that level, to possibly to the point
he hasn't won those big games. But I think for
him this is kind of a resurgence because he started
in the Power five, then he fell off, and then
(21:34):
now I think he's trying to climb himself all the
way back up to possibly get to a national championship.
I don't know if he has the resume to do it.
That man in Indiana, Signetti seems, you know, seems to
have the magic touch, but he wants to be on
the equal playing field with all the other great I
thanks taking a call.
Speaker 3 (21:48):
No doubt. All right, let's squeeze one last one.
Speaker 5 (21:50):
And Drew in New Jersey, you're on the odd couple
of Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 3 (21:54):
What's up, Drew.
Speaker 10 (21:56):
I don't blame lame for this. I think that's his
is just trash. I think that they should move the
early signing day to literally the last week of the
national championship. Additionally, I I don't follow him for leaving.
I just look at that LSU job. It's a great job,
but they get coaches out of there quick. They way
(22:20):
too quick. Who was the coach that sounded like he
was from.
Speaker 3 (22:24):
The orgeron orgeron yeah him, Yeah.
Speaker 10 (22:27):
You want a national championship.
Speaker 3 (22:29):
And they said get out a and m A and.
Speaker 10 (22:32):
M out The only the only SEC job that like
that you can't get fired for is like the Florida job.
Billion Napier was there for like five years, had like
three straight losing seasons and whatever reason he stayed there.
But yeah, it just seems unstable.
Speaker 1 (22:50):
We should Yeah, the expectations are crazy high there and
even if you win one, they're like, okay, but did
you win another? So we'll see he had Like I said,
he hasn't come through with the clutch and won a
big game with conference game or conference title game. This
will be his chance, not an expectation to go to USC.
If you wait on me to argue with you, I
ain't arguing. I told you Lincoln Ridley. Now he's blaming
on everybody else and everybody be into critical to USC.
(23:13):
You had Whee for two years not winning too high
what I'm saying he was there for two years in Caleb,
come on now, they brought you here for a reason.
Speaker 7 (23:21):
It should be noted that j m u's coach Bob Chesney,
who has an outside chance of making the playoff if
things break right this weekend, will coach through the end
of the season before he goes to UCL. Last Number one,
Number two Kentucky is zeroing in Oregon offensive coordinator Will
Stein to be their next head coach. However, Stein will
coach the Oregon offense through the playoffs. So Lane Kiffin
seems to be the outlier here, and the.
Speaker 3 (23:42):
Reason was the situation.
Speaker 1 (23:44):
Yeah, and this is he he's going to another team
in sec He's going to a big school. He's going
They're like, dude, we finally are good. You're gonna take
off player take they trying to think we heard they're
trying to pay it. To your point, the coach is
a little bit more money to keep some of them
little bit of stability as well. All right, thank you
Rogerie for that extra note. We got Steven Sager. Now
(24:04):
I'm gonna get you set on what's trending.
Speaker 2 (24:06):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Odd Couple
with Rob Parker and kelvin Washington weekdays at seven pm Eastern,
four pm Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 1 (24:17):
Thank you, Steve, appreciate it. I Couple, Rob Parker Kelvin Washington,
Magic City. Monday, feels good to be back. A couple
of days off. You didn't take any stept Saturday and Sunday.
Would you just snuggle up.
Speaker 5 (24:29):
I'll be off next week. You know, I'm traveling because
the flight's way cheaper.
Speaker 3 (24:36):
You're just going somewhere, just to go somewhere.
Speaker 5 (24:37):
Now, I'm going now, I'm going to the truck, going
to the Lions of Cowboys game.
Speaker 3 (24:41):
You know how they just booed Tomlin when you walk
in far.
Speaker 2 (24:46):
I don't think.
Speaker 1 (24:49):
I don't even doubt that. Like, there'll be some soon
as you get out there. They're like special guests in
the house. So and so eminem baby face radio number
it was Detroit rapper right now and then.
Speaker 3 (25:00):
Nigga like Rob Parker. It's okay. Oh, all it means
is I did my job, reporter. Who You're gonna be
hanging out with people? Some old people. I'm gonna see everybody.
I's got a lot of mentees. It from the city
sold the memory change subjects already you get boy? Are
(25:21):
you looking the other witer too? You passing out all
these internships out here in the streets. You canna hang
out with ps? Yeah? Oh so that's a good one piece.
Got some bangers too, all right.
Speaker 1 (25:31):
Speaking of Detroit, Matthew Stafford has been balling all year.
Uh set a record most touchdowns without an interception.
Speaker 3 (25:39):
I told you.
Speaker 1 (25:40):
And then the next past too, he got there, He's
like it was almost like he wanted to get the record. Robs,
you like, let me get this record and now, and
it's whatever, I'm just throwing up value to the other team. No,
Matthew Stafford returned as ready. As soon as you guys
crowned him.
Speaker 3 (25:53):
Oh you gonna win the MVP.
Speaker 1 (25:55):
Oh we going to the Hall of Fame, all this
other stuff. The Matthews effort that I watched most of
his career show as soon as you get in the
biggest game, I was like, come on, beat the Panthers. Right, No,
but but the turnover.
Speaker 5 (26:12):
You can't throw two picks and then fumble strip sack
right with two and a half minutes to go.
Speaker 3 (26:17):
That was ball game. That was ball game to beat them.
Speaker 1 (26:21):
Even with not playing that well, they still could have
got to win there. You know, it makes a big difference.
That was That was a bad loss. And all I'm
saying is stop crowning people too early.
Speaker 3 (26:32):
That's all.
Speaker 5 (26:32):
I'm not shocked. Stafford is not that good that only
have receptions. He's not that good that.
Speaker 3 (26:38):
I knew that.
Speaker 1 (26:39):
There would be more and there'll be more to come
before the end of the season, But that was a
big one that took a little shine off off of
Matthew Stafford.
Speaker 3 (26:48):
Really did it?
Speaker 1 (26:49):
Did it? Didn't let three turnovers?
Speaker 3 (26:53):
Like Kanye said, I'm gonna let you finish, But no
it didn't.
Speaker 4 (26:57):
He did not.
Speaker 3 (26:58):
The man, he's not the favorite anymore? Am I right?
Well he's still? Gee what he is? Still the favorite?
When I tell you something, just agree with Ron Parker.
Speaker 1 (27:09):
Why would he Why would he all of a sudden
not be the favorite? The man that's thirty two touchdowns
you mentioned those, A couple of interceptions has him at
four now four interceptions.
Speaker 3 (27:19):
I believe it is. I mean, that's in, that's that is.
Speaker 1 (27:21):
Your guy, Aaron Rodgers number thirty two touchdown when he
was in the thirty two different interceptions.
Speaker 5 (27:27):
The difference is I want to hear, what is that's
just one of what's going to be a couple of losses.
It'll be it'll be a shody finish and that'll do him.
And he played so well in the beginning. It's how
you finished. We talk about all the time when brock
Party had that great year and then finish it up.
That didn't finish the job. But wait, why is this
(27:47):
a why is he going?
Speaker 1 (27:48):
Did you first of all, because because I know I
know Matthew Stafford, Matthew Stafford, Matthew Stafford and Brock Party
no especially about I'm talking about finishing the job. So
you were ready, you were reading the crown not be
a barker king crown right now? So I can give
it to him. How many times you gotta be wrong? Listen,
(28:08):
you realize that I'm right? So how far do you
get the lead he has right now? Like Drake May
is obviously right there, there's a couple of people make
but like you think there's a shoot, it doesn't work
like that because people start.
Speaker 3 (28:20):
Looking at the game.
Speaker 5 (28:21):
Hey, in the last four games he has eight interceptions. Now,
well he kind of petered out, didn't finish this strong,
and then.
Speaker 1 (28:28):
Stafford war face. Let's say he ends up. Let's say
he Let's say lose. They play tonight. Let's say Drake
May just continues on the pace. It's history for this
younger age, and he balls out and they win. And
Matthew Stafford right there, but he doesn't. He just finished
pretty much what he've been doing all year.
Speaker 3 (28:43):
How is that taking a shine off?
Speaker 1 (28:45):
He's been going out of control, His team's balling out
of a terrible loss.
Speaker 3 (28:49):
That was a bad.
Speaker 1 (28:50):
Loss, and he got people to sixteen seventeen.
Speaker 3 (28:53):
And it's like, just like I.
Speaker 5 (28:55):
Told you when you were ready, you were all about
uh Danny Domes.
Speaker 3 (29:00):
Yeah, he's in the MVP. Conversation? Oh you who else
did you pick? You picked somebody else? No? No, no, no,
no you did? Is he the same I'm trying to get.
Speaker 1 (29:11):
Because he's there? They're teetering right now? What happened Rob?
When we have the conversation who's in the MVP race? No,
we can't say no to everybody. The point is, say
who's thet if we talk about the NBA right now?
Speaker 3 (29:24):
Man? Who looks good? You got Lucas?
Speaker 1 (29:25):
You can't, I can't go Luke And you go, no,
somebody can't say I can't give you what I gave
your jokes and then you say, no, what I gave
you was it wasn't happening that that that it was
a mirage.
Speaker 3 (29:37):
That's what I was trying to tell you. It was
a mirage.
Speaker 5 (29:42):
Want to tell me? Speaking of can I say this?
The Rams were favored by nine and a half points.
It was the second largest upset.
Speaker 3 (29:51):
You remember you.
Speaker 1 (29:52):
Stopped our whole show to do a whole segment about
how Aaron Rodgers was your MVP.
Speaker 3 (29:55):
I don't remember that show.
Speaker 1 (29:56):
Oh the same Aaron Rodgers who walked out on the
field after getting oaking knows and everybody said, I thought
you were in form field the way that was.
Speaker 3 (30:05):
Boring, Aaron Rodgers. You want to talk about fil I'm
telling you.
Speaker 1 (30:10):
You that when you crowned him last week like he
was going to the Hall of Fame, it wasn't.
Speaker 3 (30:15):
It wasn't even the MVP.
Speaker 1 (30:17):
The MV game cannot all of a sudden make him
all of a sudden the bump here.
Speaker 3 (30:21):
I'm just trying to give it to you. I'm I'm
trying to be honest.
Speaker 1 (30:24):
You gave me Aaron Rodgers was gonna be the MVP
when we were doing this show before.
Speaker 5 (30:28):
It's so and so showed up before, and I'm doing
that to you.
Speaker 2 (30:33):
Was I did?
Speaker 3 (30:33):
I not? Who was it? Who did? I have the
argument with Bucky Brooks? You remember that. Yes, he's still
not on the show anymore because.
Speaker 1 (30:41):
Of that, Bucky Brooks. I might say, why I can't
even call buy yea the phone? Is my answer, because
you were on the show of Rob Parker. No, that
was the Bucky Brooks who went on and said Aaron
Rodgers was finished. That was before he got two more
MVPs and he couldn't make the case.
Speaker 3 (30:58):
Why can't When you can't make the case, what do you
mean you can't make the case. I can make the
case that Matthews to.
Speaker 1 (31:05):
Have a welcome back? Hr you, Elijah, I need the microwave.
Take him telling me Aaron Rodgers? Who looks better right now?
Matthew Stafford and Rogers MVP with all the picks that
you have, like who?
Speaker 8 (31:17):
Like?
Speaker 3 (31:17):
You told me about the Chiefs offense, how great? And
they were gonna No, no, dude, did you see the
weeks before.
Speaker 1 (31:26):
That he was still they have the number one off No, yeah, no, yes,
I've seen it yourself. I also told you about us,
you tell you about I also told you about the Lions.
I told you about the still told you about the
line coaches, and you got coaches and quarterbacks getting mooed.
Speaker 3 (31:41):
Who I told you all of that, and you'll be
owing me a pair of Jordan's and you'll be wrong
on the Chiefs. You you the Chiefs in the Super Bowl. No,
I have the Ravens unfortunately, all right, we got what's
last question for you? All right? So to doutch point.
Speaker 7 (31:55):
Matthew Stafford currently number one in touch that was number one, basserrating,
number four, yards, number five. I'm in QBR if he
finished his top five those categories, he's doing MVP. If
he wins the m v P, rob, is he gonna
get a jingle from you?
Speaker 3 (32:06):
What do you mean a jingle?
Speaker 7 (32:07):
The song Victor Winbyama got one? No way, Caylen Williams
got one?
Speaker 3 (32:11):
Only do you? Feels like that should be the best
way he wins the m v P. You gotta get it, matt.
But if he doesn't win the m v P, there
will be it. Ms Mary Mack. Where's she goes? Ms
Mary Mack.
Speaker 1 (32:23):
When when Matthew Stafford wins the m v P, We're
gonna come back with some T grizzly So I'm gonna
make up a song of T grizzly beat.
Speaker 3 (32:30):
We're doing all the trade that the whole day.
Speaker 1 (32:32):
You know what We're asked Kelvin about his song that
he used to play every week last year, Lion one
Another Game, last.
Speaker 3 (32:41):
Ward, Lion one Another Game. I didn't even see that
on social anymore because I keeps it real.
Speaker 1 (32:48):
Okay, the boys ain't winning right now, Rob, you want
to kick a man when.
Speaker 3 (32:51):
He's not playing when they lose it? Don't make no sense.
Don't make no sense.
Speaker 7 (32:55):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (32:55):
Player, Today, we gotta get you ready for Monday night football,
and Schuchle City is.
Speaker 3 (32:58):
Speaking of Monday night football.
Speaker 1 (33:00):
There's a quarterback who is actually healthy, but for the
first time in career inactive.
Speaker 3 (33:05):
We'll tell you it's Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 2 (33:07):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Odd Couple
with Rob Parker and Kelvin Washington weekdays at seven pm
Eastern four pm Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the
iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 1 (33:18):
Fox Sports Radio A Couple Robin Kelvin on the Magic
City Monday, Thank you for hanging out with you boys.
Happy holidays. It is December first, which is absolutely crazy.
How fast time is going?
Speaker 3 (33:30):
All right?
Speaker 1 (33:30):
It is now time we run a short time. Let's
get to it time four. Play of the day, Denver
with the Plitz on the way, bought the fucking by
Nick Pnato.
Speaker 3 (33:38):
Heavy Broncos with it. Great play by Nick Benito.
Speaker 2 (33:42):
He came untouched and the Broncos in overtime have beaten
the commanders twenty seven to twenty six.
Speaker 3 (33:51):
That was a huge play. The commander said, we're going
for We're going for the win. Why not?
Speaker 1 (33:54):
Broncos Radio there for your tire reck play of the day,
brought to you by Tyrack. For over forty years, Tyre
been helping customers find the right tires for hot for
what for where they drive, ship fast and free back
by free Road has a protection with convenient installation options
like mobile tire installation tire rack dot com. It is
the way tire bink should be. And now it is
time for Shekel City. I dow two and one on
(34:18):
the NFL stuff.
Speaker 5 (34:19):
That was our last bet, eighty eight and seventy eight,
ten games, over five hundred, making a couple bucks.
Speaker 3 (34:26):
Here we are tonight.
Speaker 5 (34:28):
I'm gonna take the Patriots minus seven, okay, hosting the
g Men. G Man, so that's my best bet. I'm
gonna take the Patriots there, okay, not mad at that.
I'm taking the Nuggets minus eleven and a half, hosting
the mavericks Man.
Speaker 3 (34:46):
Dirk ain't walking through that door, huh.
Speaker 5 (34:47):
I actually was watching play on Saturday night the Clippers
at at the game.
Speaker 3 (34:54):
Yeah, I went, what'd you think of Cooper. Yeah, baller
an't that the game he was balling? Yeah, he had
like what thirty five?
Speaker 1 (35:00):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (35:00):
What'd you think you was hating on him? Yeah, he's
all right. Also, every bucket he made, you look at it.
I mean it's man, I could have made that. I
also got the Jazz plus eleven and a half.
Speaker 5 (35:12):
So I'm going extreme Jazz plus eleven and a half
hosting the Rockets in Utah. So again, Jazz plus eleven
and a half, Nuggets minus eleven and a half, and
the Patriots minus seven. And remember, I'm not telling you
who to tell on. I'm telling you who I bet on.
Speaker 1 (35:27):
All Right, So we got some news for somebody who's
had a really good career, Hall of Fame caliber career,
Rob g is some news breaking for one Russell Wilson.
Speaker 3 (35:35):
Huh yes, sir.
Speaker 7 (35:36):
For the first time in his illustrious NFL career, potentially
Hall of Fame career, Russell Wilson will be a healthy scratch.
Speaker 3 (35:44):
I had two super tonight take on the Patriots. First
time ever healthy scratch. Yeah, I mean it. Listen.
Speaker 1 (35:51):
Obviously, Jackson Dart is their guy at the future. Jameis
Winston is absolutely just a beloved there and that tends
to happen everywhere he goes as long as long as
he's not a star for like more than four or
five games, So that that that makes sense. I mean,
I think this is the portion of Russell Wilson's career
where he's gonna have to realize this is it or
just being a backup? Like I think the days are
(36:12):
starting just based off the meritive talent. Now, obviously somebody
gets hurt, you go in, but I think those days
are long gone. I think that's just where he is now.
So I mean this is again, had an amazing career.
There's nothing he'll be playing about.
Speaker 3 (36:24):
A quarterback with somebody. There's so few cool I don't
disagree with that, that's all.
Speaker 1 (36:29):
I'm just saying, like there's so few quarterbacks that there's
always a chance, there's always somebody getting hurt.
Speaker 3 (36:35):
There's always some young guy just on good enough.
Speaker 1 (36:37):
Look at look at if you're the Vikings, right, and
what they did this week with that kid, really that
you'd rather play that kid?
Speaker 3 (36:45):
I'd rather have Sam Donald, do you know what I mean?
Speaker 1 (36:48):
Well, that wasn't happening because because they want to win
big games, and I want to say that, ye did
you see Rodney Harrison on Sunday Night Football?
Speaker 3 (36:59):
Did you wait? Rob g jump on here real quick?
Speaker 5 (37:04):
He he was doing analysis, to ask him about keys
to the game or whatever, he he just could not
focus and put any sentences together.
Speaker 3 (37:14):
All right, wasn't that weird.
Speaker 1 (37:18):
Video?
Speaker 7 (37:18):
The defenders of his were saying that he got distracted
about whatever was being said in his ear, so we
couldn't hear the question at the same time. But but
if you didn't hear that, you would say he totally
does not know where he is and can't focus on
what he's.
Speaker 5 (37:28):
Doing, right, because you could because even ask for the
question again.
Speaker 3 (37:33):
He's been doing it long enough to know, fine, I
got I can't listen my hand for what you been
doing it.
Speaker 1 (37:38):
And then when they asked him like about to try
to he couldn't do. He couldn't explain it like like.
Speaker 3 (37:44):
Asking about what what they should do.
Speaker 1 (37:46):
When you see the video, it just was just I mean,
he's been on TV for a long time and it
just felt like, you know, like there was a moment
that players who played that same position, who talked about
memory having issues around the same age
