Let's get this.

Speaker 2 (00:49):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 1 (00:55):
That's right, it is The Odd Couple on ATV theme
song Thursday, Kevin Washington, my man Martin Weiss is in
for Rob Robins in Detroit as we get ready for
some Thursday night football.

Speaker 4 (01:06):
You got the Cowboys in Detroit.

Speaker 1 (01:07):
Both teams obviously are trying to get this win as
they keep their playoff hopes alive. Mark, you'll appreciate this
couple of homie shot out to Clint Coley.

Speaker 4 (01:17):
He said he's a big time Eagle fan.

Speaker 1 (01:18):
He was like, Lions, Lions, we need y'all as a
hold on.

Speaker 4 (01:22):
Don't be coming to us out side. Now, y'all beat us,
you know what I mean?

Speaker 1 (01:25):
He been talking big smack, you know, personally to me,
and now all of a sudden he got a posted
a picture where the Lions had on a Lions jersey.

Speaker 4 (01:33):
Talking about Lions. You have one job to do.

Speaker 1 (01:34):
That's, of course, beat the cowboys as they're trying to
somehow sneak in this playoff race. We'll get to that
a little bit more in just a second. If you
missed last hour, go check it out. Don't forget. You
can listen to the podcast Brio have that up for
you in a little bit breeze in for Rob g.
We had Sean Merriman join us as well. And check
out the YouTube. We're on it now. All you gotta
do is search on a couple fssor you can find

(01:55):
it there, share like comment YouTube beans, please comment away
the odd mob.

Speaker 4 (02:00):
We'll get to you guys a little bit later on
later in this hour.

Speaker 1 (02:04):
Tim Brando, Fox Sports broadcaster, we'll chop it up with
him and just a little bit and then at the
end of the hour we'll have some shop talk. That's
always fun as well. But Martin, this is a big
game for both teams. Again, both teams are, you know,
fighting for their playoff lives. The Lions, it's been a
weird street season for them, where if you just you know,
they've played well at times and you thought, okay, this

(02:26):
is this is who they are, But then they've had
a couple of games they shouldn't lost, the most notably
in my opinion, that Vikings game. They shouldn't have lost
that one a halfful of weeks ago. Now they find
themselves seven and five on the outside looking in. You
got the Cowboys at six five and one, remember that
tie with the Packers. But they've been playing really well
as of late, especially the offense, and the players they

(02:47):
acquired in that trade have been producing thus far, Quinn
Williams being one an example of that. So big game
tonight kick off about five fifteen. Will watch it and
keep you updated. But one of the bigger conversations a
couple of ways going about this game, Markin, I'll start
here is Dak Prescott and how he's kind of been

(03:08):
reminding folks that without the playoff success, if we were
just to simply look at regular seasons, Dak Prescott has
been a really good quarterback. Right Dak Prescott's put up
stats Dak Prescott had prior to last season when he
was hurt, ceed was hurt early, a bunch of defenders,
defensive players were hurt that had three seasons of twelve

(03:30):
and five, which does lead to the criticism of, well,
why don't you guys ball out the playoffs?

Speaker 4 (03:35):
You've been twelve and five.

Speaker 1 (03:36):
The expectations high a few a couple of seasons back,
Dak is an MVP candidate, you know, so he's been
doing this, and I think that's why sometimes people can
be critical of him, is because you want more that
expectations are high. But now you look at this season
and a lot of conversations, of course, are is he
MVP candidate? Look at him, sixty nine percent complete completion percentage,

(03:56):
you got thirty two hundred yards, twenty five touchdowns, only
eight interceptions, rating of one hundred and two point four.

Speaker 4 (04:04):
So he's balling out.

Speaker 1 (04:05):
And to me, Martin, I think, unfortunately for any star
athlete on a team in any sport, Sands for maybe baseball.
It is ultimately gonna come down to that win loss,
and it's gonna come down to the team play. And
I say that to say because it reminds me of
he's playing great, he's balling out. But am I not
looking at the same season I was looking at last
year and maybe lesser than than Joe Burrow. And it's

(04:29):
the same, you know, where Joe Burrow was balling out
of control. But we were sitting here saying, man, but
look at the team. You know, oh man, look at
the team. They're not winning enough. They only got this.
They look at their barely five hundred and seventy almost
seventy one percent completion percentage, almost five thousand yards for
Joe Burrow, forty three touchdowns, nine interceptions in a rating

(04:50):
of one hundred and eight point five. So to me,
while Dak has looked very impressive, the team's been good
and fun to watch. I mean, he's not even on
the pace of what Joe Burrow was. And again, it's
gonna come down to how they finished. And I mean
it can't be you know, there's six five and one,
so they can't end this season like you know, nine,
what would be nine to seven and one or something.

Speaker 5 (05:12):
Like nine six and one.

Speaker 1 (05:16):
Yeah, it can't be that to me, because then that
to me get I go look back at Joe Burrow
had an even better year and what they finished was
it eight nine to nine.

Speaker 5 (05:25):
I got you.

Speaker 6 (05:26):
So that only way for Dak Prescott to win the
MVP is for the Cowboys from this point on to
the end of the season to not lose another game,
because the only way for Dak Prescott to win the
MVP is they have to make the playoffs. And at
this point, the outcome of I think tonight is the
first playoff game.

Speaker 4 (05:45):
Of the year.

Speaker 6 (05:46):
Whoever loses this games, I agree, you can no longer
talk about them as viable playoff contenders. So that Dak
MVP dream might die four quarters from today, right for
four quarters from right now. I now, if in fact
the Cowboys go on a streak, which I'll continue their streak,

(06:07):
I should say they've been on. They've had the best
three games in the probably the best two to three
games stretch that we've seen of any team in the NFL,
just in terms of what they've put on tape in.

Speaker 5 (06:17):
This last three weeks.

Speaker 6 (06:18):
Right, like for a three week period obviously, not the
over throughout the whole season. I thought it was laughable
that the Cowboys win total was so low because Dak
Prescott has been a guy when he has been healthy.
I believe, outside of his rookie yet know, even his rookie,
outside of his second year, he's double digit wins. If
he's healthy, he's gonna get you to double digit wins.

(06:38):
So I thought a lot of that was overblown. I
think this team would be better with Michael Parces on.

Speaker 4 (06:42):
It, obviously, But.

Speaker 6 (06:45):
George Pickens coming over to Dallas saw I saw a
report yesterday out of the Athletic everybody from Pittsburgh is speculating,
all the unnamed sources from Pittsburgh speculate the reason why
George Pickens is doing well in Dallas right now is
because there's no quarterback. There's quarterback stability, there's no quarterback
question marks, there's no issues. We know who the guy

(07:07):
is and we're confident in that guy. And sure enough,
George Pickens, like many other people who are very, very
successful at their jobs, want to know that the people
around them are going to allow them to do to.

Speaker 5 (07:17):
Be that level of successful at their jobs.

Speaker 6 (07:20):
For me, this is a, like I said before playoffs
start today, loser leaves town type match. I think I've
not hurt anybody today nationally or otherwise.

Speaker 5 (07:29):
Pick the Lions to win this game.

Speaker 6 (07:31):
I'm not about to be the first to do so,
although I do think it should be a close one
and a hard fought matchup. I just think what Dallas
is doing offensively, plus the end season moves make this
team feel really really good right now, and especially as
they are turning the corner. And Sean Merriman just said it,
this is when you really start playing your best ball.

(07:51):
This is a loser least time match again. But I
think it's mainly because the two teams. The three teams
ahead of them, the Bears, Packers for the Lions, and
then the Eagles.

Speaker 5 (08:03):
For the for the Cowboys, I think that the Eagles have.

Speaker 6 (08:06):
Of those three, the Eagles are the only one that
have a real chance of falling apart.

Speaker 1 (08:10):
We well the Bears too in that they got a
tough road they let there. They played the Lions, the
Packers twice. Who else I have to pull it up,
but they got a tough road ahead. I think it's
one more tough one as well. Uh maybe it's the
forty nine ers, but they've got it even.

Speaker 6 (08:26):
Still, even if they go five hundred, they'll still be
ahead of the Lions wild card. They'll be ahead of
you know, these other things.

Speaker 4 (08:32):
You talk about.

Speaker 1 (08:33):
Another playoff game, That last game between the Bears and
the Lions could be huge too. I'll add some extra
motivation that you know, Dallas Cowboys lost their falling teammate
Marshawn Neeland, who passed away last month.

Speaker 4 (08:45):
You know, that could add some extra motivation.

Speaker 1 (08:47):
Toto, and I find it funny George Piggins is balling,
which we already knew he was talented. But to your point,
I read that same article and they're talking about, you know,
is the stability with dak and it's funny. What is
okay when either you're playing well or we are playing well.

Speaker 4 (09:02):
What I mean by that is, if you read into that.

Speaker 5 (09:05):
The no exactly where you're going.

Speaker 1 (09:07):
One of the issues that he had in Dallas was, man,
he just shows up ladies, not always you know, necessarily
paying attention. With Pittsburgh, well, if you read same things
happen in Dallas, they've been finding them and everything they
had to find them. That's how Lady's been, but Daggan,
when you're bawling and we win in it, we see
that you're a key key cogging this thing.

Speaker 4 (09:24):
We got to shot to turn this season around.

Speaker 1 (09:26):
It's a little bit different, right, Well, he's just a
little lady, a little look, you know, a little tardiness.

Speaker 4 (09:30):
Ain't never did nothing nobody, you know.

Speaker 5 (09:32):
I don't think it's that different.

Speaker 6 (09:33):
I think the difference is is what is valued in
different places. Right, So like I'll equate this to something
language that we both speaking. Nobody else does SOLF sorry,
Insight radio.

Speaker 4 (09:42):
But no TV.

Speaker 6 (09:44):
Right, yeah, you might have a great producer who simply
can't spell.

Speaker 4 (09:48):
Right man, Right now, what I'm saying all types.

Speaker 6 (09:53):
Of great ideas.

Speaker 5 (09:55):
Somebody that can sit there and fill your run down out.

Speaker 6 (09:57):
They will have you with the highest rated opening segment
every shingle day as long as you listen to them.
But you do not let them write a single thing
that goes on to TV because they're gonna spell two
with three to os, right, Like.

Speaker 5 (10:11):
You just don't do it because they can't spell. They can't.

Speaker 6 (10:14):
They the typos don't work for them. They don't see
it all though, correct is a fail? Do you fire
that guy? Or girl, or do you put that guy
or girl in a position where they can do what
they're best at and minimize the things that they're going
to struggle with. I'm not saying that they never have
to write anything. I'm just saying that somebody else is
gonna check up on it. So I'm not saying George

(10:35):
Pickens is always on time. I'm saying, though, maybe though Georgia,
maybe we give Georgia five minute window. Maybe we give
Georgia five minute window.

Speaker 5 (10:43):
Yeah, maybe that's okay.

Speaker 1 (10:44):
But I'll tell you what, but that's a great example
of listen to somebody who reads a teleprom there every
single day. Brother, trust me, when when they start doing
certain things, they'll put the dash in between us. They
got me talking about us. I'm talking about us. It's
supposed to be us. I'm like, it's today today, in
the US.

Speaker 6 (11:00):
In the US US World Report.

Speaker 5 (11:03):
Yes, in the US period.

Speaker 4 (11:04):
So trust me, I know all about it. You ain't
lying about that.

Speaker 1 (11:07):
But I still think instead of six, five and one,
if they were one five, you know, one in seven
or something like that or whatever it would be, then
you know, third, three and eight or whatever. We'd been
sitting here like man joy. If only he took it serious,
if only he was locked in. He's got the talent, so,
you know, but you're right, they look they know they're
trying to win something. They don't want to waste the

(11:27):
window of DAK and CD and all this. So if
he if Bruh's gonna miss they talked about, you know, Martin,
he might miss a few team busses. You might miss
a few team buses. He's not missing a buster. He's
got uber money, right, he might miss a buster. I
was cracking up when I've read that. But so I
see what the Cowboys do. I want to I'll go

(11:47):
to the other side of this a little bit.

Speaker 4 (11:49):
With the Lions.

Speaker 1 (11:52):
The thing that has been a little frustrating watching them,
I start to feel like they're they're looking so big picture,
they're forgetting the small things, and it's almost like you
gotta take care of this in order to get to
that right The way they've handled some games by day
I mean Dan Campbell, but on down they've handled it like, oh,

(12:14):
we're nine and one, don't worry about that game, And
it's like, no, you're creating bad habits that could affect
you later. Ultimately, affect you getting AVI and in the playoffs,
but let alone affects you in the playoffs. And we've
talked about it. I think even you and I have
talked about it. Rob and I have talked about it.
Just because you usually do doesn't mean you have to.
And their approach to well, we won't punt here, we

(12:36):
won't kick a field goal here, we'll go for here,
or we'll screw the fact that we're on the on
side of the ball. That's just not situational. And that
to me, Martin has come back to possibly hunt them
with a couple of games or a couple of moments
here where they could have stolen a game or not
given one away if they had played better contextualized football
or situational football. And that does worry me obviously as

(12:59):
a Lions fan, that let's say they sneak in getting
the postseason. Did you learn from San Francisco? Where is
this this whole This is just what we do, this
is just who we are. It's okay to evolve, it's
okay to be situational. And that is one of the
things that worries me. And you know, I say this
last point because I read the whole thing. Dan Campbell
still mad about two years ago when they lost in

(13:21):
Dallas and the skipper play or he caught, the lineman
caught the past two point conversion should have.

Speaker 5 (13:27):
Won the game.

Speaker 4 (13:27):
Then they did it again.

Speaker 1 (13:28):
Then they did it again, and they were talking about
how this still haunts them. They're still mad about it,
but that's who we are, and blah blah blah. And
I'm like, man, don't find yourself in another situation. Because
they had lost the season before that to Dallas in
a weird kind of way, they thought they should have
had it. I'm like, don't find yourself in a situation
against an offensively good team like this where you're giving

(13:48):
them extra possessions, you're giving them the ball, where you're
leaving points on the on the field.

Speaker 4 (13:54):
That will drive me crazy.

Speaker 1 (13:55):
If that is something I find that the Lions are
doing today, Martin, so.

Speaker 6 (13:59):
I would say that I I've decided I'm good with
the going for it. There only been one time, really
in the entirety of the Dan Campbell era that I
was like, Yo, you gotta you gotta chill, and that
was the Eagles game.

Speaker 5 (14:11):
We were sixteen to nine.

Speaker 6 (14:12):
It's like, it's a you're a it's a one score game, dude,
Like yeah, and you go for five on fourth down?

Speaker 5 (14:19):
Like you know what I mean?

Speaker 6 (14:20):
Like like, all right, we have we have pushed this
to critical mass. But I do not have an issue
with the with the Lions going for it. I don't
game plan wise, game script. I'm good with everything Detroit does.
I mean that's wholeheartedly, because I think the bigger issue
in Detroit has been the issue of the last two seasons.

Speaker 5 (14:39):
They have no depth because they're always hurt.

Speaker 6 (14:42):
And I get it that people will will will point
and say, you know, everybody gets hurting football so on
and so forth.

Speaker 5 (14:50):
I hear you.

Speaker 6 (14:51):
But also, there's gotta be something that you're doing fundamentally
that is causing all of these cluster injuries. Whether it's
the way you the way they're working, something about that
has to be fundamentally changed. And I think it's the
same thing as San Francisco. I think it's these these
lay you took the words out my mouth, these teams

(15:12):
that are built on real being very physical and all
of that. I get it, and I but I just
think it takes you.

Speaker 5 (15:18):
You had to scale it.

Speaker 6 (15:19):
Back just a bit because you guys got to be
ready on Sunday, Monday, and Thursday. And I think that's
the biggest has been the biggest issue for the Lions
across the board. They win in the playoffs last year,
if they are not starting eleven new players on defense.

Speaker 1 (15:34):
Dude, I had to screen that to Rob Parker every
day against Washington, I'm like, dude, he was like, he
kept blaming Jared Goff, and I said, despite Jared Goff's turnovers,
You're right, he was terrible, fake four or five turnovers
in that game.

Speaker 5 (15:44):
They were right there, yes, And I said.

Speaker 1 (15:46):
Their defense was there and not making jayde and Daniels
look like the return of you know, Joe Montana or something,
or Doug Williams in the Super Bowl. If you want
to keep it in with the you know, Washington the community,
I'm like, they win that game.

Speaker 4 (15:57):
And so Matt was a whole a whole thing.

Speaker 1 (16:01):
That team's defensively, especially on the injuries on the defensive
side of the ball has cost them so much. And
now what I'm Aron Saint Brown, you know, banged up.
We'll know, we'll see what he looks like. And then
Laporta out as well. But they're gonna have to find
a way to push through, because, let me tell you what,
the league. Ain't nobody feeling sorry for him, but this
is this is gonna be an interesting game. Obviously the
Lions favored three and a half, but to your point,

(16:23):
seems like everybody side with the Cowboys. The only thing
I'll say about the Cowboys, Martin, or at least another thing.
A couple of those games they did pull off, they
didn't look They didn't look great. Against the Eagles, they
had a great was the second half, you know what
I mean, they weren't rolling like that.

Speaker 6 (16:39):
So four minutes into this, four minutes left in the
second quarter of things kind.

Speaker 4 (16:42):
Of you can feel to get Yeah.

Speaker 1 (16:45):
So there is an element of me that's like, Okay,
they've looked good offensively. Their defense hasn't been as great
as maybe people got excited about because they've made a
few plays here there, and I start to wonder, like,
all right, are we hyping them up just a little bit?
So if I'm the Lion saying it ain't that good,
you know, uh, but they're gonna have to figure out something.
I was listening to all the football talking head talking
about the Lions. They're not gonna be able to play

(17:07):
as much man. They play man defense seventy percent of
the time and against that receiving corps man that offense
with Dak, you're gonna have to mix it up. You'
gonna have to give him different looks. So Kelvin Sheppard,
the defensive coordinator for the Lions, this might be his
most important, biggest game of the season because they're gonna
have to give this defense the Cowboys offense. They're gonna

(17:28):
have to make them see things differently. Eight and Huncheson
and the guys are gonna have to get in there
because if you just let Dak sit back with CD
on one side and GP on the other, it's gonna
be a long game for the Lions secondary.

Speaker 6 (17:40):
Yeah, it didn't matter what time to bust left. George
Pickles will be on time.

Speaker 5 (17:43):
For the game.

Speaker 4 (17:44):
You know he gonna be at the game.

Speaker 5 (17:45):
I'll pase he'll be practice.

Speaker 1 (17:48):
Rack, we talked about practice. He might not be there
all right, eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox. You
want to jump in on this, who do you expect
to win? And is Dak a realistic MVP candidate? Eight
seven seven ninety nine on Fox And don't forget. We
got Tim Brand Fox Sports Broadcasting to be joining us

the people to wet.

Speaker 5 (19:03):
This The Simpsons I listen to this show.

Speaker 4 (19:06):
You don't playing the Simpsons.

Speaker 5 (19:07):
With Rob and was Robin Calvin?

Speaker 4 (19:09):
I just way, So are you trying to say she
said you look like a Simpson. Listen, I'm not gonna
lie that.

Speaker 6 (19:16):
All I'm saying is all I'm all I'm saying is
wasn't no playing in the Simpsons before the show was
on YouTube?

Speaker 5 (19:23):
He just Max I tell them he looked really pale
last week.

Speaker 6 (19:26):
All I'm just saying, what those Simpsons playing before the
show was on YouTube.

Speaker 1 (19:29):
Is because the only thing we could play was anything
from nineteen eighty and below with Rob Martin.

Speaker 4 (19:33):
You know that.

Speaker 1 (19:34):
That's the reason why the Simpsons. But by the way,
are the Simpsons still on?

Speaker 5 (19:39):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (19:40):
Mike like all jokes is like who, Like I don't
see commercials anywhere?

Speaker 4 (19:44):
Like are they are people watching it now?

Speaker 5 (19:47):
Oh? It's like kind of like partnered with who. I'm like,
I'm pretty sure it's something comes on Fox And it's
on Fox too.

Speaker 1 (19:53):
My gosh, this's been like thirty five, six, seven, forty
years or something crazy. My goodness man, it's the couple
gig Hevin and Martin on a TV theme song Thursday.
Check out the YouTube. Martin just mentioned it. We are
simulcasting YouTube. Check it out. As always, we appreciate it.
If you go there, just search odd couple FSR, hit subscribe,

(20:13):
like share, thumbs up, the whole nine and we'll read
some comments.

Speaker 4 (20:17):
By the way, Martin, I gotta give you something, man.

Speaker 1 (20:19):
It's crazy early, but you might be a prophet when
you said in four quarters, Dak presscott MVP might be gone.
I mean the way the Lions defense is getting after
him right now and they're down, so they're gonna have
to start forcing it. And you know what happens when you
start forcing it. Things happen, turnovers like this could be
not necessarily a horrible game for him, but let's say

(20:41):
those for two point fifty, but he ends up with
an interception, sacked four times and a fumble you know
where it's just like eh, and the Lions just look good.
That's how we we move on because Member Patrick Mahomes
was it.

Speaker 4 (20:54):
Right, and we kind of moved on.

Speaker 1 (20:55):
And now I always Drake mcnaw, it's Matthew Stafford, So
you're right, we can mess around and have or prescott
the campaign if it's like a presidential campaign is over now,
like it could happen. Yeah, all right, let's let's take
some phone calls here. We're talking about Milwaukee, the Bucks.

Speaker 4 (21:08):
What do they do?

Speaker 1 (21:09):
Martin and I are an agreement in this that it's
just time to part ways, trade them and move on.
And and it's all good. Doesn't have to be anybody
was bad or wrong for this. It's just that's okay.
It's time to move on. It's a business. They both
have succeeded, they both won together. It is time to
move on. Eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox, we
asked if you want to jump in, we got some causes.
Go to cut in North Dakota, Kurt in North Dakota.

(21:30):
You're all with the Odt couple of Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 4 (21:32):
What's up, Kurt, Govern and Martin?

Speaker 7 (21:34):
Thank you very much. This is the best show on radio.
I think the Dana Show.

Speaker 4 (21:38):
Dad.

Speaker 7 (21:39):
I'm a Twins fan, and when I think back to
you know, they won in eighty seven and ninety one,
that second title really made them a special team and
cemented them in the parts of Twins fans and you know,
if he can win one more title here and you know,
and cement that they basically basically create a bridge between
the two titles. You know, looking back, I think she'll
really appreciate that. In you know, in the fan is

(22:00):
in Milwalk, you will love him. And yeah, and I
think about Doctor G. I was, you know, I was
disappointed that Doctor G didn't get two titles in Philadelphia,
But that's kind of the side. But anyways, I'll shut
up and let you guys talk to somebody else. I
love you, guys, and keep up the great work.

Speaker 4 (22:14):
God bless you, Kurt, God bless you to my brother.
We appreciate you.

Speaker 1 (22:18):
I just think the challenge Martin, I think Kurt is
right like that, you'd love it. But the issue I
have is Giannis unfortunately hasn't shown me that if he's
simply the guy like you are by far the guy,
and the team's good around you, or the team's really
good around you, or it's made around you, that he
can get us there. And that's what I mentioned in
the last before the break, that I'm blown away that

(22:42):
if I told you a thirty year old in his prime,
a specimen thirty plus a game, twelve thirteen rebounds, again,
all this stats, sixty plus percent bill go percentage, former
defensive player, he can't get to the Eastern Conference regularly,
not even the finals regularly. That is disturbing to me
when there's no real in his way, there's no real
opposition in his way. He's not looking at O Way

(23:04):
Boston and you're like, well, what is he supposed to
do with that?

Speaker 4 (23:06):
You know, he's not looking at the.

Speaker 1 (23:08):
Four pistons where he's like, oh, Lebron and the heatles
or something like that.

Speaker 4 (23:12):
Lebron ain't even there. Because you remember the Lebronto.

Speaker 1 (23:15):
Raptors where man Lebron wasn't there, we could get it
to the finals, like that was a real thing. He
doesn't have that in his way. So to be out
in the first round regularly. I gave you Dame Lillard,
I gave you Chris Middleton, the Brook Lopez and Bobby
bord Is, all these things and the good defense and
Drew Holliday, and all I got is one an Eastern
Conference final appearance which ultimately led to the title.

Speaker 4 (23:34):
That that's a bit disappointing and underwhelming to me.

Speaker 5 (23:37):
No, I'm right with you. I agree with you one
hundred percent.

Speaker 6 (23:40):
And uh, actually, if you want to take one more call,
I think we can take a call. Let's tay Tim
and Atlanta, because this is it. I'd like to see
this deal happen. Give me Gianni's Petray.

Speaker 4 (23:49):
Young All right, Chiley and Atlanta. What's up to man?
You're on with the odd couple? What's up?

Speaker 8 (23:54):
Brother Calvin Martin? I like to ask, you know, why
is Milwaukee acting like you know they used to eat
and to lay me on or something? I mean, as
the Utah Jazz or the Brooklyn Mins or the Portland
Trail Blazers who would love to have one championship, get
you know, get your buying off these shoulders. Man, you

(24:14):
got one. You probably you know you got lucky with
that one because you were down to the suns. I
don't know, I don't know. You lost it down to you. Oh,
but you got one to be happy. You ain't like
you want of the blue bloods out here, you know,
if you expect to win a championship every year?

Speaker 4 (24:29):
General Manager, Chili Tim, what's this trade you want to see?

Speaker 8 (24:33):
Uh? I wouldn't trade him. I mean i'd trade him
somewhere with a team that because you need to get
plenty of assets to build, because it's hard to get
players to come to Milwaukee to start with. So this
may be the only way you ever really get a
chance to really get a good group of players. So, uh,
I'm trying to think you talent. I looked for somebody
like uh, there's uh maybe like I looked to the maverage, maybe.

Speaker 1 (24:59):
Because they since I'm a real quick chili, we're running
up on time, real quick. Martin's point, you're down there
at Atlanta. What's up with Tray Young? Five years ago?
Whatever it was, he was a hero, he's bound in
New York three four years ago.

Speaker 4 (25:10):
Everybody loved him.

Speaker 1 (25:10):
It's great, and then all of a sudden it's changed.
So what do you what's up with with Trey Young?

Speaker 3 (25:16):
Uh?

Speaker 4 (25:17):
Would you?

Speaker 1 (25:17):
Is that a guy that Atlanta wants to move on
from just the field down there in Atlanta since you're there.

Speaker 8 (25:22):
Yeah, they just feel like he's not the guy like
you know, small guys like him. I mean it's kind
of hard, uh to you, you know, trying to carry your team,
and I just think they feel like after a couple
of years, they look at him, it's like he just
didn't have his shoulders on broad enough to take him
where they need to go. And he earned a lot
to you know, he's injured a lot and I just

(25:43):
think they just figure like he may be a second piece,
but he's never He's not a main he's not a
guy that can lead it. He can be an added
piece to it, but he can't leave it. I think
the people here to realize that now he's just he's
just not gonna.

Speaker 4 (25:57):
Cut it, no doubt. All right, man, Chili to him.

Speaker 1 (26:00):
I appreciate it, brother, I have a great rest of
the week, all right, appreciate out the calls. Maybe we'll
try to squeeze a couple in. On the other side
of trending, Let's go to Monzy Belanos. Now, Moncey got
a good game going on.

Speaker 4 (26:10):
If you're Alliance fan, I'm.

Speaker 6 (26:12):
Not even watching that right now. I'm not even watching.

Speaker 5 (26:15):
Now to the update room of Thorn back in.

Speaker 6 (26:18):
The Warriors.

Speaker 9 (26:19):
Right now, we're down twenty four points. They took the
lead against the seventy six ers. They lost Straymond Green
to a foot injury. No Steph Curry, no Jimmy Butler
came back, and the last ten seconds have taken seven minutes.

Speaker 5 (26:31):
I'm not even kind of kidding you.

Speaker 9 (26:32):
Guys, like the NBA sounds like the NBA and the
seventy six ers just won it. Like, oh my goodness,
they survived. Ninety nine to ninety eight was the final score.
But like Tyrese Maxey was on a tear. I'm telling you,
they were up twenty four points.

Speaker 2 (26:47):
It was over.

Speaker 5 (26:47):
And then the Warriors just didn't give up.

Speaker 9 (26:49):
Outscored Philadelphia in the fourth quarter thirty two to nineteen.
But yeah, Tyrese Maxey thirty five points. I'm gonna sit down.

Speaker 5 (26:54):
I've been standing this whole time as I've been talking.

Speaker 9 (26:56):
About this game.

Speaker 5 (26:57):
I cannot believe it.

Speaker 9 (26:58):
I'll get to the NFL And just second, the Lakers
are up on the Rockets right now, one oh three
to one hundred. It's still early in the fourth quarter,
but Austin Reeves on his own tear thirty six points
and nine rebounds. No Lukadancic in this one. The Jazz
are losing to the Nets ninety to eighty five, also
early in the fourth, and the Timberwolves and the Pelicans
are tied at seventy halfway through the third quarter, while

(27:20):
the Celtics already blew out the Wizards one forty six
to one h one. Janni Santetokumpo, by the way, he's
gonna miss two to four weeks for the Bucks because
of that calf strain that he suffered. When it comes
to the NFL, yeah, it's been all lying so far
in this one against the Cowboys. In fact, David Montgomery
just had a thirty five yard rushing touchdown. Jamiir Gibs
with the rushing touchdown, So it's seventeen to six down

(27:43):
to the final two minutes of the first half. Dak
Prescott is thirteen of seventeen one hundred and twenty eight yards.
Jared Goff is ten of sixteen, one hundred and twenty
two yards. You're not gonna see uh. Jalen Carter on
Monday for the Eagles as they as they take on
the Chargers. He under won a procedure this past Monday
on both his shoulders. As for Justin Herbert, he was
a limited participant in practice today for La the Commander's

(28:06):
upgraded quarterback Jade and Daniels to wa full participant. So
he's trending in the right direction to start Sunday at Minnesota.
And when it comes to Doug Gottlieb's Green Bay Phoenix,
oh man, what happened? They were up and lost in
the final four seconds they lost eighty to seventy eight.

Speaker 5 (28:23):
I thought that's why you were pulling your hair out.

Speaker 9 (28:25):
I was not pulling my hair out for that one.
I was pulling my hair out for the world.

Speaker 1 (28:28):
All right, you might have just that news might have
saved Rob Parker's night. It looks like the Lions could
be on a roll. Obviously still a lot of football
left between. But if they were to pulled this off
the Lions and then Doug's team pulled up, we don't
know what would have happened to Rob.

Speaker 4 (28:39):
So you just say Rob's night with that.

Speaker 9 (28:40):
News, Manzi, Well, I'm happy I could do.

Speaker 5 (28:42):
That for Rob. How do you like? How you like
Jalen night? Fuck?

Speaker 4 (28:47):
Go ahead, go ahead, thank you so much.

Speaker 5 (28:50):
Yeah, here's the real Moncey is going to be here
for the next four hours. Right, yes, so's every time
you all have a great night. It's like, I get it.

Speaker 6 (28:58):
I know the sound of y'all play at the end
of this show, but some of them do work on
the Jason Smith Show, we're like, all, hey, Martin, we
out okay me and we out of here. We take
we I get just I get it. That's y'all, said
by to her, and I heard say y'all
