Speaker 2 (01:43):
Who Who's dead it is? Who'shtead is? What do he said?
What I asked, was he ever gonna cut his pony tail? Nimeer?

Speaker 1 (01:51):
What he said, never can't do it? His power strength Samson?
Well here you go, my radio partner missed the Washington Uh,
it's been a rough year for you.

Speaker 2 (02:03):
And when it comes to the NFL, and here's another one.

Speaker 1 (02:06):
Hold on, first of all, don't be acting like it's over.
I'm just ain't over yet. No, just hear me out,
go ahead, because what's over is your terrible prediction that
the Steelers were gonna be just like a year ago.
Instead last year they stumbled at the end.

Speaker 4 (02:23):
This year they've won three in a row. After that
terrible game by Aaron Rodgers, always done. I wouldn't want
him back. And if you look at how he's played
and listen to the NFL analysts talking about his play
has really picked up in the last three weeks.

Speaker 1 (02:38):
Aaron Rodgers had some beautiful balls. He had some yesterday.
Did you see that one thing?

Speaker 2 (02:42):
Okay?

Speaker 1 (02:43):
But here's the point is all year you questioned the Steelers.

Speaker 2 (02:48):
You just you, you pooh pooed it. I wouldn't wait
for ever, Roder. You need a quarter back for the future.
Baha bad bad bah bah. And here they are.

Speaker 4 (02:59):
Not only did they go to Detroit and beat your
Lions that were favored by seven and a half. Okay,
not only did they do that, they now have put
themselves in position to.

Speaker 1 (03:12):
Win the division. Yes, they can win the division this year.

Speaker 2 (03:17):
And guess what.

Speaker 4 (03:20):
You were wrong about Aaron Rodgers, wrong about the Steelers,
and wrong that this is just the same old, same old.

Speaker 2 (03:27):
It is not the same old, same old.

Speaker 4 (03:30):
And I feel as convinced as I ever have been
because I told you that they would win a playoff game,
and the way that.

Speaker 1 (03:38):
They've played, there's no reason why the Steelers can't beat
the Chargers or whoever might come in for that playoff
game in January in Pittsburgh and the Coole I.

Speaker 2 (03:49):
Looked at the team, How in the.

Speaker 4 (03:50):
World did they go to Detroit in a must win
for the Lions and pull that off with great explosion plays.
They rushed the football, they stopped the Lion's two headed
monster fifteen yards.

Speaker 2 (04:03):
Was terrible. They didn't even have TJ. Watt did even play.
He's got to collapse long.

Speaker 1 (04:09):
So my point was you didn't understand why they waited
for Aaron Rodgers.

Speaker 2 (04:14):
And this is exhibit A.

Speaker 1 (04:15):
Two weeks left in the season and they're poised to
win the division. That's why they waited. They finally have
a quarterback. Not the greatest quarterback.

Speaker 4 (04:27):
Playing, but a guy who knows how to play the position.
That's what they've been missing for the last eight or
nine years after Ben Roethlisberger. Maybe not that, but since
he left, they didn't have anybody who could play quarterback.

Speaker 2 (04:41):
That's why Mike Tomlin, you.

Speaker 4 (04:42):
Want to know the love affair if they if they
get win the division and win a playoff game, they
might get married.

Speaker 1 (04:49):
I mean, are you kidding? Mike Thomlins been dying to
win a playoff game. This is his guy. They have
some synergy, right, They got a bro man. He looked
at that guy and said, that's a quarterback. I would
love to play with that guy the Jets they discarded
and where the Jets today? They said it was Aaron Rodgers. Right, Oh,

(05:11):
let's get rid of him. Let's go get Justin Fields.
We have a quarterback for the Where's Justin Fields? He
ain't even playing. Aaron Rodgers forty one years old.

Speaker 4 (05:22):
And the bottom line is he knows how to play
the position. I'm not surprised.

Speaker 1 (05:28):
That's why I bet you on that that they would
win more than nine games. That's why I said that
they would win a playoff game. These aren't all after
the fact. This is what I added and talked about
prior to the season. So I'm not just talking off
the top of my head. I know everybody says.

Speaker 2 (05:43):
Oh, you know me, stop it. I don't play that game.

Speaker 1 (05:49):
Why you can't love Aaron Rodgers though, that's what I
feel the Steelers gonna do.

Speaker 4 (05:54):
But Aaron rod though, it's not because that's not what
That's not who I am.

Speaker 2 (06:00):
Okay, I don't care about that.

Speaker 1 (06:02):
Now, That's where I get matched. That's where I get mad.
I don't care because if you if you don't know,
stop it. Everybody listening watching, who knows you? Your text
group emails, friends from your the the ten eleven friends
from back home. Everybody knows you love Aaron Rodgers, and
that's okay.

Speaker 2 (06:18):
You don't love.

Speaker 1 (06:19):
Roger now does nobody believes that? Not a single person
in this showers I've never seen play out of doubts.
Look at the spring looking eyes, Look at the sparkling
he's one of the greatest quarterback. And look, I didn't
even see you. No, I don't even see you talking
about nobody else. You get a sparking sea. Now, let
me get back to what I'm saying. What I've told

(06:40):
you since the whole conversation about him possibly coming, it's
literally manifesting itself. I told you they were going to
be the exact same team they were a Russell Wilson.
You know what Russell Wilson was. He was six and five.
He had twenty four hundred yards twenty he had sixteen touchdown.
Remember he only played eleven he is touchdowns, five interceptions.

(07:02):
Aaron Rodgers he almost as Russell Wilson, will almost have
in more yards with him in only eleven games. Right now,
they're sitting here, what are they? Nine and seven? No,
nine to six. They got a chance to go nine
and eight, maybe ten or eleven. Will see they have
a chance to look exactly the same Last year they
were ten and seven, They might be ten and seven,
the exact same team. And if you look at this

(07:25):
to play the quarterback, it can look the exact same.

Speaker 2 (07:28):
And you talk about the division.

Speaker 1 (07:30):
It took Andrew Lamar Jackson injured Joe Burrow for then
to have a shot.

Speaker 2 (07:35):
And I'm not saying that Aaron Rods I never.

Speaker 1 (07:37):
Said he was. To quote me, I said, Aaron Rodgers
is not gonna suck. He can't suck. He's Aaron Rodgers,
one of the greatest quarterbacks ever. I agree with you
on that. My point was simply, they're gonna look the
same be nine and eight, which is what I thought
ten and seven, what you thought they were ten and
seven last year. Russell Wilson wasn't horrible, just like Aaron
Rodgers is playing all right, and they're not gonna win.

(07:57):
And I was saying, what was the point is off?
You talk about the Bears. They've got their guy for
the future, right they feel good? No no, no, no,
no no, no, hell you told you told me Caleb
couldn't play.

Speaker 2 (08:07):
No, that's not what I said. You did. No, no, no,
you didn't listen. No, I go on you to it.

Speaker 5 (08:12):
I know what.

Speaker 2 (08:13):
He has not played on you. I said, he has
go on you too, and you and you he has
not you.

Speaker 1 (08:19):
He's gonna be we'll talk about this next season, and
we'll talk about gonna be Bears, and we'll talk about us.

Speaker 2 (08:25):
That is that.

Speaker 1 (08:26):
Go ahead and we'll talk about that next hour. So
my whole point was they looked the exact same as
last year. And that's all I'm saying. Go find your
Jade and Daniels went healthy, Go find your boat Knicks,
go find your Drake made. Is what all I was
saying with the Steelers was if the issue has been
you guys make it to the you go above five hundred.
But that's not a big deal. They make it to
the postseason, they don't win a game since twenty sixteen, seventeen,

(08:49):
whatever it is. That to me, they look the exact same.
You're not all the sames, you're not watching the game.
Team's the last couple week, got the same team are
What did they they actually love? What what was their
record at the end of the year last seven I'm
talking about, how did they get to that record, They

(09:09):
lost their last five, they lost two straight, they lost
three straight, they lost and what if they lost too straight?
Rob So all I've said, I don't I feel the same.
They're possibly gonna be nine to eight or ten and seven,
just like with Russell Wilson. So if they win in
the last two games, they're gonna be nine and seven.
So I said they could part.

Speaker 2 (09:30):
We have to wake.

Speaker 1 (09:32):
They give me an option of them winning the last
two games. You said, you said they absolutely have the will.
Now it's gonna hurt even harder thanks to lot to
DK doing wild stuff. Now you lose your number one target,
your number one receiver. So my point then months ago,
two months ago, two weeks ago, and two minutes ago
is the same. I look at the Steers supposed to

(09:53):
go to YouTube and look at the old clips.

Speaker 2 (09:55):
Yes, I I could sit and argue with you.

Speaker 1 (09:57):
Why they're gonna where you were telling me that he
is the m v P of the league.

Speaker 2 (10:02):
What I'm thing is, it's not this they're gonna move.
It's the exact same, not the same. They did not
win the division last year, and you get the division.

Speaker 1 (10:10):
It was Lamar Jackson Hill, and you can't tell Lamar
Jackson Hill and you can't tell me that they don't
have a chance to super Bowl pick and they have
a chance.

Speaker 2 (10:19):
Well he did not my point.

Speaker 1 (10:22):
I'm saying the reason that there you said that they
were the same, They're the same.

Speaker 4 (10:27):
They didn't win the division and last year they had
no chance to win a play.

Speaker 2 (10:31):
They would not win division. Wasn't hurt.

Speaker 1 (10:33):
We all know that if the mast they don't win
that So that's all I said. You could see it
a minute ago. You're making excuses with the Lions because
of injuries. Not Yes, Ros, That's that's why you brought
it up. That's why you brought it up over the
rundown jovin Washington. Dan Campbell for the Detroit Lions lost you.

(10:56):
That's what I was training staff.

Speaker 2 (10:59):
I brought it up. Who's the china staff with the Lions?
Because they got it. Roy.

Speaker 1 (11:04):
You can scream all you want, I'm not telling you
and Stars are the same.

Speaker 2 (11:09):
That you're wrong.

Speaker 4 (11:10):
Admit that you don't know what you're talking about. When
you came to Aaron Rodgers, they looked exact same. They're
not the same, Kim the same.

Speaker 2 (11:19):
Are you watching the game? Yes? I am watching.

Speaker 1 (11:21):
Were looking at the Russell Wilson and we were like,
oh my gosh, look at this. And they turned around
and lost five or six straight and they looked the
exact same. So I don't understand why we even argued
about it what we're.

Speaker 4 (11:31):
Argued about it, because I heard eight different analysts on television.

Speaker 2 (11:35):
You know what they said today?

Speaker 1 (11:37):
They said, yesterday's win by the Steelers might be the
biggest win that we've seen in the NFL all year.
And you're telling me this is the same team as
a year ago, because.

Speaker 2 (11:47):
No it is not. You want the game, No it ain't. No,
you diss Jessiel Wilson.

Speaker 4 (11:54):
You know what's even better than as you left here
on Friday with the idea that you were feeling good
that I'm gonna be because I picked the Lions.

Speaker 2 (12:02):
What what done?

Speaker 1 (12:03):
I picked the Lions before the football even started, picked
the Lions back in the spring. I picked the Lions
the day they lost to Washington all kelvin.

Speaker 2 (12:10):
So I'm telling you I've said the same thing Steelers
are supposed to Literally, I said the same in the UFL.

Speaker 1 (12:19):
You go ahead, like I said, the Pittsburgh Steelers are
supposed to be a blue blood of this NFL. I
ain't won a super Bowl. Down the hole no longer.
I can't win the playoff game, but get to the
super Bowl, right, I got it? Okay, they have been
a much better team than the Steelers allowed. How the
super Bowls have they been to? We're talking about the
last few guys. I'm duh, that's an easy one. Like

(12:40):
I was saying, so the Steelers. All I'm saying is
if I was part of that French I will say,
I want to get back to you.

Speaker 2 (12:46):
This is the same I want to make you.

Speaker 1 (12:49):
You don't know what you're looking at because it ain't
the same team you Okay, they look just like they
look just like it's they have no shot to win
a playoff game? Is that what you're saying.

Speaker 2 (12:58):
I'm asking. I'm not saying I don't have a shot. Okay,
they're not going to win the division.

Speaker 1 (13:01):
Patrick Mahomes out there and Jackson. I don't care about
Joe talking about where they are. So that's what I'm saying.
Joe Burrow not playing. I'm saying a full season or
even a game or two, Joe Burrow, you know what
I'm saying.

Speaker 2 (13:13):
He's playing.

Speaker 1 (13:13):
Joe Burrow you start last night. Did he play you
know what I'm saying. I'm saying they when they played
game all that other stuff. If he plays, they went wrong,
Just that you're wrong. They've won nine games. Rob they
were they might not even win ten games. I said

(13:34):
they would be the same. They have nine games. You're
acting like. First of all, you're acting like it's over.
They mess around to win nine games. I can't wait
to hear the hr you, Elijah, and I'll wait that
they've won time.

Speaker 2 (13:45):
You got the Lions going to the playoffs. Still they
won nine games? What what.

Speaker 4 (13:52):
I'm not binding. They don't look great all I'm telling
they won nine games. You've been wrong up and down
the board.

Speaker 1 (13:58):
You told me about the Chief said their wide receivers
and how they were going to the super Bowl again
and they were all backs and Patrick Mahomes is the
m v P. I heard all that you told me
about the Lions and that they were going to get
to the super Bowl and they're going.

Speaker 3 (14:11):
To do this.

Speaker 4 (14:12):
I heard all that you were wrong. You told me
about the Steelers. You were wrong about that, Williams, you
were wrong about that.

Speaker 2 (14:20):
Have we major wrong on this one?

Speaker 1 (14:25):
And this is what and this is you're wrong. I
literally am not wrong. They're nine wins. Rob I predicted
they would win nine wins.

Speaker 4 (14:33):
Predicted they win the division and have a chance to
win a playoff game. First, they have not won the
cost the home playoffs and not won the division.

Speaker 2 (14:41):
I said a lot of stuff. I said, have a
chance that you keep giving out a lot of stuff.

Speaker 1 (14:46):
They haven't won a division, they haven't won more than
nine games, and they look exactly like last year. I
actually am one thousand percent correct right now about the
Steelers eight.

Speaker 2 (14:54):
Seven seven nine.

Speaker 1 (14:58):
They ain't did nothing. You bring it up all just
like last year ten and seven. Russell Wilson somewhere saying
this is what y'all kicked me out for it for this,
I could have did that.

Speaker 2 (15:09):
I had sixteen touchdown on five interception. Y'all could have
been called you boy. It's just crazy.

Speaker 6 (15:13):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (15:13):
The Aaron Rodgers and the Steelers live in the ABC.
Rob g is live. Oh they also rans. I just
I just also rans where they were last year.

Speaker 7 (15:27):
We're least say that win chest eight seven seven sixty
three sixty they'll call in because and you could call
in and tell Kelvin he's with sugar.

Speaker 1 (15:38):
Ugh, he's wrong. He's been wrong all year on the NFL.
All nothing you say, I'm buying it. Say you've been
so wrong. I've never I've never sat next to somebody
this wrong on everything.

Speaker 2 (15:50):
Okay, let me let me while we're at it, let me.

learn more, go to Haley on assist dot com. All Right,

(17:51):
eight seven seven ninety nine On Fox Stealers, I said
they looked the same as last year. Rob says, no,
what say you? Eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox
we got chili, Tim in Atlanta. You're on the odds
couple of Fox Sports Radio. What's up Chili?

Speaker 9 (18:06):
Aaron Rodgers has beautiful ball? Wow, Wow, what's up guys?

Speaker 2 (18:16):
How y'all doing Christmas?

Speaker 10 (18:18):
Mary Christ Thank you you too.

Speaker 9 (18:23):
Kevin, It's my old job, he.

Speaker 6 (18:25):
Used to say.

Speaker 9 (18:26):
Sometimes situations on the ground have changed. I think that
team that I saw with the Steelers yesterday, I didn't
see that type of team last year.

Speaker 2 (18:36):
They would have never won that game last year.

Speaker 9 (18:39):
Never, I have never inspired. So when I saw that
as night, that type of Stillers team that you know,
the kind of that beat the Lions at their own game.
I mean out Muslim and out Russiam. I mean when
they have the better backs, the better receivers, the better
you know. It just showed me something and that's still
the team. Last night with Aaron Rodger, I mean, I

(19:01):
think this team here we saw that name, is just
not the same team. Russell Wilson did not inspire that
type of that type of you know, belief in that
they could do something.

Speaker 1 (19:15):
Remember this, Tim They lost their last five games last year,
including the playoffs, six in a row.

Speaker 4 (19:21):
So they were fading last year. This team is ascending.
That's why it's not the same team.

Speaker 10 (19:27):
It ain't the same team.

Speaker 1 (19:30):
It ain't know, We'll see it ain't the same. You
can't tell me it's the same. If they the season
at ten and seven.

Speaker 2 (19:35):
No, they're gonna win the division. What are you talking about?
That's not the same out. I don't care about it.
Who's next? Who's next?

Speaker 1 (19:41):
Johnny in Minnesota? You're on the yard couple of Fox
Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (19:44):
What's up, Johnny?

Speaker 10 (19:46):
What's going? Rob? And Kelvin? What you guys doing to this?

Speaker 2 (19:49):
Johnny? What's up? My man? Christmas?

Speaker 10 (19:50):
Brother man. I love talking to you guys. You all
got some goofy stuff to say. A. I hope Robbie
and I hope Robins are not Rob. Sorry, Rob, Calvin,
you ain't locked in that closet still with your buddy.

Speaker 2 (20:06):
But that's crazy. I can't even lie crazy.

Speaker 9 (20:12):
You have to have it.

Speaker 2 (20:13):
You said it, man, I know, give me the money shot.

Speaker 1 (20:17):
I can't even finish the story. It sounded so crazy.

Speaker 10 (20:22):
If you can can't say your name, what's your guy?
I wanted to say that the Steelers, man is, they're legit.
If they win a couple more games, they're They're right,
They're good. I don't like Aaron Rodgers being from Minnesota,
but right, I get that.

Speaker 4 (20:41):
I understand that anybody like the Bears, all the people
in the division Detroit, right, and.

Speaker 10 (20:48):
We got a chance right now. I don't know what goal.

Speaker 2 (20:49):
That's a great point. We can talk. We'll talk about
it a little bit later in the week.

Speaker 1 (20:53):
I wish I definitely agree with that specifically in that conference.

Speaker 2 (20:56):
Don in the up. You're in the odd couple of
Fox Sports Radio. What's up?

Speaker 5 (21:02):
Guys, what's up?

Speaker 2 (21:02):
What's up?

Speaker 9 (21:04):
Yo?

Speaker 10 (21:04):
Tell then I got bad news, man. I gotta rob
on this, man.

Speaker 1 (21:09):
I mean, last year Steelers started ten to three and they.

Speaker 9 (21:13):
Lost the last five games, and they had the lead defense.

Speaker 2 (21:15):
Yes, and this.

Speaker 5 (21:16):
And this year they've got no pass rush.

Speaker 3 (21:19):
They beat the Lions on the road and lines had
to have it without t J.

Speaker 9 (21:22):
Watt.

Speaker 10 (21:25):
You know, there are more balance this year.

Speaker 5 (21:27):
I mean they're not dominant and then.

Speaker 2 (21:29):
But they're trending up. Am I right, Don, that is
trending up.

Speaker 9 (21:32):
Definitely, definitely.

Speaker 10 (21:34):
I mean a rod.

Speaker 1 (21:35):
Was was a little vinage last night, you know, I.

Speaker 2 (21:37):
Mean not both were one time.

Speaker 5 (21:40):
That's incredible. He hasn't thrown that many times.

Speaker 2 (21:42):
That no army, he definitely got armed.

Speaker 1 (21:45):
Yeah, appreciate you, Don thank you, Don appreciate it all
right on the way TJ. Houshmizada, We're chopping up with him.

(22:26):
Pro Bowl receiver, co hosts of Up on Game of
Fox Sports Radio, TJ.

Speaker 2 (22:30):
Who's what up?

Speaker 5 (22:31):
Man?

Speaker 2 (22:32):
Hey?

Speaker 3 (22:32):
What what's happening?

Speaker 2 (22:35):
TJ?

Speaker 4 (22:35):
I'm showing my ass all day on this radio show
because all week all season, I tried to tell Kelvin
the Lions they making the play right over.

Speaker 2 (22:47):
I told him that Caleb is a real deal.

Speaker 4 (22:50):
He said he was gonna be getting benched at that
midway point of the season. Well, I told him that
the stealers or with Aaron Rodgers, that's why they waited
on him.

Speaker 2 (22:58):
We got all these things to talk about. Let's start
with the Lions.

Speaker 4 (23:02):
How shocked are you that they went from the number
one seed last year to potentially, I mean, mathematically they're
still in it, but the chance of them making the
playoffs are very slim.

Speaker 2 (23:11):
Where are you?

Speaker 5 (23:12):
It's not shocking to me. When you lose your offensive
coordinator and your defensive coordinator, you there's gonna be some
type of you're gonna take a step back. That's what
I felt. I felt like the Lions would take a
step back, especially when you're really defined by your offense
and being able to just go up and down the field,

(23:35):
super creative with your play calls and your disguising and
just doing things. Losing Ben Johnson is huge, and I
felt they would take a step back, and they have.
And so for the Lions, they're gonna have to figure
out what's next. Will Dan Campbell continue to call plays
or will he brings somebody else in? Because it's obvious offensively,

(23:57):
they are nowhere near to saying that they were the
last you years with Ben Johnson.

Speaker 2 (24:01):
I think they're gonna bring somebody in.

Speaker 1 (24:02):
I don't think that's Dan Campbell's he he's doing obviously
Bestie Campbell.

Speaker 2 (24:05):
I don't think that's his forefront.

Speaker 1 (24:06):
Let me ask you this, speaking of Dan Campbell, if
you're a player, how do you handle where Sometimes via
the viewing public or people watching it seems like an
obvious you know, take the three or just ah, no punt.
You know your team is struggling defensively, you take the points.
How do you communicate that to your coach if like, hey,
we might need to take some points here there, and
it's ended up costing them a game or two throughout

(24:26):
the season, you just feel like.

Speaker 5 (24:28):
If our defense is very good, if we know we
go for it, our defense gonna shut them down. I
don't mind going for it. But when you know that
team that you're playing is a really good team and
points are going to be at a premium, then you
kick the field goal. You can't approach every situation the
same old all how the flow of the game. Who

(24:51):
are we playing offensively? Are we gonna have to keep
up with them? Is our defense playing well this game?
And so those are games where it's come by them
in a button. Now we should have won that game
and they'll be watching the playoffs like.

Speaker 2 (25:04):
We will be, no doubt.

Speaker 1 (25:06):
How about the Caleb Williams just the throws TJ. You
could appreciate it as a wide receiver you played in
the league. How hard it is to make those throws,
that game winning throw, and the reaction in the stadium
and the team and around the city. I mean, that
is as big of a throw I've seen in that situation.

(25:29):
They can never beat the Packers, right, this is a
chance for them to finally beat the Packers.

Speaker 2 (25:34):
They come back, they're.

Speaker 4 (25:35):
Down by sixteen to six with two point five to go,
and they win that game in overtime. What'd you make
of the play of Caleb Williams and his development?

Speaker 5 (25:44):
Well, Rob, let me just say this. I was one
of the few people in Caleb's corner. I believe in him.
I thought he would be a very very very good
player in the league. And then obviously, you know, as
Ricky here didn't go so well. So everybody starts, you know,
they start the yap.

Speaker 2 (26:03):
Yep, he was. He was.

Speaker 5 (26:04):
His head coach was a coach that's probably gonna be
out the league here soon. So that just tells you
how far from uphill battle he was climbing. I mean,
your head coach's probably gonna get fired from the Donnas cowboy,
and you get a competent head coach, You get a
competit guy that can call plays. And now look what happens. Oh,
he looks like he can play now, and so I'm

(26:26):
happy for him too. Yes, that was a great throw. Well, listen,
let's be honest, Rob, that's a hell of a catch.
That's really really good coverage by Keithie.

Speaker 2 (26:36):
Yeah, he's right on top of him. But the balls J.

Speaker 5 (26:39):
Moore DJ Moore made a hell of a play. Taylor
threw a great ball, but DJ Moore that that's a
fifty to fifty ball that DJ Moore made a play
on and made it really look seventy thirty. So great
play by both parties. But that's not a that's not
a play we see a receiver make every Sunday.

Speaker 4 (27:00):
Well, here we go with Caleb and people, you know
I hear every week, me and Kelvin argue, oh, they're
his percentage and the throws he left on the field
and all these other things, which are fine. He has
six come from behind victories, uh the most, well, you know,
since I think it's Peyton Manning who had who had

(27:22):
six his second year or something like like.

Speaker 2 (27:25):
To be able to come.

Speaker 4 (27:27):
Up with the throws when they matter and make plays
because the NFL is a is a play. You gotta
make plays right, you tackle them, uh TJ at the
first point of contact, right, is the difference between that
and the guy going for a touchdown or or a
first down or whatever it is. And Caleb to me,
I don't think you could teach some guys are cool

(27:48):
in those situations and other guys aren't.

Speaker 2 (27:50):
And he's done it six times this year. It's pretty incredible.

Speaker 5 (27:53):
A lot listen, you know, You'll get people to say
it's completion percentage isn't what it needs to be, but
he's went games. But conversly, right, if he was completing
sixty nine seventy percent of his passes and they were
losing games, what would they say?

Speaker 2 (28:08):
They say, win?

Speaker 5 (28:11):
He don't win, right, and so they always gonna find
a way for they're arguing to me, right, Oh, they're
winning games, but it's completion. He's winning games. He's about
to take the Chicago Bears for the playoffs in the
division that going into the year many thought they wouldn't
be in a situation. And so this is a tough division.

(28:32):
The Vikings took a step back, but that division is.

Speaker 2 (28:36):
A tough division.

Speaker 5 (28:38):
It's a tough division.

Speaker 2 (28:40):
I think it's going to.

Speaker 1 (28:40):
Be tough for Handfully, Caleb looks like he's going to
be obviously around. You got Jordan Love, you got the
Lions can have another year or two if the Vikings
get it right.

Speaker 5 (28:48):
That's because today Jay McCarthy is the quarterback that Kevin
O'Connell expects him to be. This is about to be
a division of like somebody is going to not make
the playoffs and you literally on to the season saying wow, like,
who's not gonna make it? That's how good the division is.
But Caleb is a he been fantastic Ben Johnson. It

(29:11):
just shows you how good of a coach is in
a good evalue at a talent because he's had opportunities,
he didn't take those opportunities. But when the opportunity to
coach the Chicago Bears came up, he took that opportunity
because he knew he had a quarterback.

Speaker 1 (29:24):
Hey who, so let me go to a guy who
kind of came in with the same kind of praise
and it took him a while to get it going.

Speaker 2 (29:31):
And that is you already know I'm going track.

Speaker 1 (29:34):
Tron Shine is all of a sudden got this Jag
team where it's like, oh, shoot, have we been ignoring them?
Which is probably how they would have preferred it. How
real are they this particular season as we get inch
closer into the playoffs And.

Speaker 5 (29:48):
When you look at that Jagg's roster, they got dudes. Man,
They two good pass rushers, they're good at the linebacker spot,
they're good in the secondary. Offensively, Travis Hunter isn't even playing.
What has happened is they made that trade for Jakobe Myers,

(30:08):
and it gave Trevor Lawrence another weapon. Liam Cohen, So
the Carolina Panthers lose Dave Canalis, I mean he the
Tampa Bay Bucks love Dave Canal. Carolina Panthers comes in,
he takes over the play calling. Baker has a great
year just just play callers and having this his cohesion

(30:32):
is cohesive, miss which your quarterback, and just having somewhat
of a partnership. Now we're getting towards the end of
the year, he understands Trevor a little more. Trevor understands
him a little more. I'm guaranteeing they're communicating so often.
Liam Cohen, I don't even know who gets Coach of
the Year him are vable because both of them went
to terrible situations. Both of them are playing with highly

(30:54):
drafted quarterbacks and they both have done a great job.
But the way Trevor Lawrence, you know, the generational quarter back,
and I was telling everybody this he was gonna be this.
He was gonna be that because he trained with us,
and you know, Plexico Bereford remind me every every show,
told you your boy, Trevor Lawrence wasn't gonna be anything.
Well what about now that sounds.

Speaker 2 (31:15):
Funny because I've heard that too. I told Kelvin about
this is what boy, I tell you, DJ let me
let you go. So I argue Christmas, I know how
you feel to you, Jay, because I have to put
up with it every day too. Yeah.

Speaker 5 (31:31):
Really, I'm really a GM man. I'm really a GM
like man.

Speaker 2 (31:35):
I'm a gim Yeah.

Speaker 5 (31:38):
That sounds like they make you. They make you start
in the basement, man, They make you start in the basement.
And I just don't feel like it's warranted. I really don't.
I really don't. I really don't feel like it's warranted.
You you know, players, when you see players, you talk
to him. You know right away you know you're gonna
have some bus here and there. But I just feel
like I know every position. I know a ball or one,

(32:00):
I see one and talk to one.

Speaker 1 (32:01):
All right, Well, shoot, you know, hey, listen up. They
listen to this show, so maybe they listen out here.
You know what, man, let's give it.

Speaker 2 (32:07):
Who's your shot?

Speaker 5 (32:08):
Man?

Speaker 2 (32:09):
Hey, we appreciate Mary Christmas.

Speaker 1 (32:11):
Hey, we're not gonna do like Hey Alex, We're not
gonna do like I had to do to one of
the callers who.

Speaker 2 (32:15):
Yeah, we're gonna wish you to Mary Christmas. Listen to this.
We have it. Yeah, we got it. I had to tell.

Speaker 1 (32:20):
One I'm not gonna watch Merry Christmas.

Speaker 7 (32:27):
Hey.

Speaker 1 (32:28):
I called him screws Mick Parker over here over telling
people he ain't wishing to Merry Christmas.

Speaker 5 (32:33):
Hey, Well, Merry Christmas. Happy holidays, y'all, man, no doubt.
Keep up the great work there show.

Speaker 2 (34:04):
All right, Rob g.

Speaker 1 (34:06):
Some traditional rivalries and college football one you kind of
just get used to seeing and you know, expecting it's
gonna be changing.

Speaker 2 (34:13):
A lot of folks are mad about it, that's right.

Speaker 6 (34:15):
It's been building now for several months, actually about a
year now that the Notre Dame US football rivalry was
gonna come to a close.

Speaker 2 (34:22):
It all started linking.

Speaker 6 (34:23):
Riley's talking about it, you know, the ad at Notre
Dame was talking about it, and the speculation was this
thing is a dead man walking about to walk the plank. Well,
today we got another nail in the coffin because Notre
Dame has inked a home and home series with BYU.

Speaker 2 (34:40):
Whatever do with USC, Well.

Speaker 6 (34:42):
With BYU taking that slot, Notre Dame has decided they
will not be playing USC during the years they played BYU,
So for at least the next two seasons, the historic
fighting Irish Trojan rivalry is no more.

Speaker 4 (34:58):
No shock to me. They don't care about the fans.
They don't care about tradition, they don't they don't care
about any of that stuff.

Speaker 1 (35:05):
It's just about money making and whatever who the highest bidder.
It's a shame I didn't grow up in college football
like that. You grew up in a college football town,
literally ann Arbor, and for a lot of people, the
destruction of the Big ten, and how in the world
could UCLA and USC being the Big ten. It's just

(35:28):
none of it feels good. They want to have a
thirty two team pro college league on Saturdays.

Speaker 2 (35:35):
That's what it's going to be.

Speaker 4 (35:36):
They don't care about rivalries games, you know, tradition, any
it's all out the window. And this right here is
the big one where they slap you know, college football
fans across the face and say take this, this is
what we're doing to you. And Keith Shawn Johnson I
saw him make a post and all these you know,

(36:00):
former athletes from the two schools and all that, and
they don't care. You think they care, Kelvin, They don't care. Well,
the players care, you mean right, I'm talking about the school.

Speaker 3 (36:08):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (36:08):
Yeah, I was gonna say because because Keithshean was upset
about that. I saw that too, and he was And
to your point, I mean, everybody understands it's some money
making business and it really all the last you know,
thirty years or so has been.

Speaker 2 (36:19):
And you hear what Keishan basically said that USC scared
now to play.

Speaker 1 (36:23):
Notice, yeah, they're scared because you talk about go back
to what Lincoln Riley he said, Uh, basically a couple
of things. He said, it ain't worth the just wasn't
worth the squeeze talking about playing potential playoff teams like
I don't want to play him if if we might lose,
and an he talked about the fact that he would
support sacrifice in the rivalry of Notre Dame if it
helped him win a national title. I mean, dude, I'm

(36:44):
from ann Arbor, as you mentioned, Yeah, every season, who
doesn't want to win a national title? But dagget me
and Ohio State was right up there with that aout
saying kicking in that And so my point, that's what
makes it fun. If you're Alabama, you want to beat Auburn, right,
if you're Florida and Florida State and so on and
so forth, Florida State, Miami, whatever it may be.

Speaker 2 (37:01):
Like, that's what also makes it fun.

Speaker 1 (37:03):
Being a fan, is you're seeing these right, They'll be
like if for some reason back in the day, like
the Lakers couldn't play the Celtics anymore, and they whatever,
Like you wanted to beat the Celtics.

Speaker 2 (37:12):
If you were Laker, are you Celtics? You want to
beat the Lakers?

Speaker 5 (37:14):
Like?

Speaker 1 (37:14):
This is also what makes sports fun, not just the
final results of your team, but who you beat along
the way and to just get rid of that. I'm
college sports, specifically football. I don't know where we're headed, man.
I mean it's just NFL two point zero, one point five,
whatever you want to call it, one B to the
NFL one A.

Speaker 2 (37:32):
I mean that's just where we're heading.

Speaker 1 (37:33):
So you know, rivalries are gone, kids get the transfer,
coaches leave, the money's everywhere. So I don't know where
this league is going, an CAAs and in fact, it's
gonna get to where it's just two teams, big ten sec.

Speaker 2 (37:47):
That's where we're headed.

Speaker 1 (37:48):
Man, speaking ahead, and we got to talk about somebody else,
another quarterback,
