most people watch it watching.

Speaker 5 (02:11):
Uh, what are we talking about, Rob, We're talking about
it was pretty special if you watched it.

Speaker 4 (02:16):
Huh what did they see? They saw Caleb Williams.

Speaker 1 (02:20):
Okay, that's what we're talking about.

Speaker 6 (02:22):
Deliver.

Speaker 1 (02:23):
Yeah, he did go on a nice little Friday night
with Carrie Deliver Delivery.

Speaker 5 (02:27):
He did in more ways than one aided, let's be honest,
by an on side kick that went their way.

Speaker 4 (02:35):
They had a less than one percent chance. According to usgay.

Speaker 1 (02:41):
Do are getting crazy. I'm talking about.

Speaker 5 (02:45):
So credit to Caleb Williams and the Chicago Bears. They
had less than a one percent chance of winning a game.
They score it that excuse me. They score recovering on sidekick,
score again. The end of regulation forced eternal over and overtime,
and Caleb Williams seals the deal with a admittedly gorgeous

(03:05):
pass about fifty yards down the field to DJ Moore
in the tight coverage for the touchdown. With a couple
of things that happened on Sunday, Caleb Williams, Ben Johnson,
the Chicago Bears have now clinched a postseason birth.

Speaker 4 (03:20):
And of all people was Aaron Rodgers breeding this lion.
People are still still He's still gonna say some see
what I mean.

Speaker 1 (03:28):
I'm gone I help you out. Yeah, I own you.

Speaker 4 (03:30):
I even have to give you a live and assist Relax,
big days in the Windy City.

Speaker 1 (03:36):
There you go.

Speaker 4 (03:37):
I'm just gonna say one thing I told you.

Speaker 3 (03:41):
I told you, and then I saw his toss.

Speaker 4 (03:47):
I'm a busy and not a trace, no doubt in
my mind. I'm in love with cayleb. Believe I couldn't
leave him if I tried.

Speaker 3 (04:04):
And the best part about it is, I'm not Johnny
come lately. We made that song weeks and weeks and
weeks ago, and all year you kept saying you had
the nerve to come on this very.

Speaker 1 (04:17):
Way that you're saying, because you sure like words in
my mouth. I don't hear what you're saying. I'm gonna
put him in your mouth. You know what you're saying?
All right? Oh yeah, hold on now, hey, yeah, hold on.

Speaker 4 (04:25):
No, that gives about six more aos.

Speaker 1 (04:28):
I said six more.

Speaker 4 (04:29):
I sent them them right now. Words stop.

Speaker 1 (04:32):
You know it ain't no partition between us, right. Her
mother had to jump over there.

Speaker 4 (04:35):
Man, I put air Rogers in my mouth anytime I
want you.

Speaker 1 (04:40):
I know, he mad, right, he praying to the Good
Lord for you to strike that one. I don't know
why that button don't work no more? That was he,
What do you want for Christmas? I just want that
button not to work no more. You sat here what
you're saying. I don't really want to listen because you
like to add extra sauce all the time.

Speaker 4 (04:57):
Set In said that affairs were winning, and.

Speaker 3 (05:00):
In spite of Caleb Williams, we did a ridiculous topic
on this show where you said they were winning in
spite of him.

Speaker 4 (05:08):
You pointed out, oh yeah, well, you know.

Speaker 3 (05:11):
His percentages and and leaving plays on the field and
all this stuff and not in a position to win
the division. They won a big time game over Green Bay.
He's been doing He's been incredible when it matters. They
call the iceman for a reason, when the games matter.

Speaker 1 (05:32):
If you don't relax, ain't nobody know, let mama ain't life?
Called an iceman? They do.

Speaker 4 (05:36):
They call in Chicago. I know he likes to do
the little come on of ice Celery. They called. Tell
them about Rob g looking up in Chicago. There's a
there's a reason why they called iceman.

Speaker 3 (05:45):
I get it, go ahead, But my point is, again, Calvin,
this football season has been a disaster for you.

Speaker 4 (05:53):
So you keep saying that you can't say I feel for.

Speaker 3 (05:55):
You because you have swung and mists on all the
big stories this year that we've covered on the odd couple,
including Caleb Williams. I want you to just come clean
and admit that you were wrong about him, that he
is that guy. He has elevated the bear stop with
the with the TICKI tak and the fody numbers to

(06:15):
try to discredit him. Okay, stop doing that. They watch
with your eyes. We talk about it all the time.
There's an eye test. If you don't think that guy
can play, I don't know what you're watching.

Speaker 4 (06:27):
Who said he can't player? I don't know what you're watching. Okay,
here we go. I want to say this to you.

Speaker 3 (06:33):
Williams leads the NFL with six comeback wins after trailing
in the fourth quarter, and his six winning drives this
season extended his record by any Bears quarterback ready since
the AFL NFL merger, and as a team, the Bears
now have won six games after trailing in the final

(06:55):
two minutes of the fourth quarter, the most in any
season since nineteen seventy.

Speaker 4 (07:00):
The stuff that he's doing and what you.

Speaker 3 (07:02):
Throw out to discredit and the and the downsize Caleb
Williams is talking about his percentage of throws. That is
what you're talking about, or or his accuracy or this
or that. Dude, It's about winning. I talk about it
all the time. Everybody can't do that.

Speaker 4 (07:25):
I'm not cherry pick.

Speaker 3 (07:27):
Caleb Williams is a thousand percent better than the quarterback.

Speaker 4 (07:33):
You've been trying to portray him.

Speaker 3 (07:35):
Go on YouTube and look, I know exactly what I
say it on YouTube A that he was going to
be benched at the hand that yes, you also said
that they want to saying that his coach liked his
other guy, and that's all I said.

Speaker 1 (07:50):
I didn't say anything.

Speaker 4 (07:51):
So they still like the other guy. Is that what
you're telling me?

Speaker 1 (07:53):
I don't know.

Speaker 4 (07:54):
Now, you don't know what I'm done.

Speaker 1 (07:58):
I'm done good. This is what you're like to speak
on Bill what you'd like to do? Rob Number one,
You cherry pick when you want to do stuff. Because
you sit up here talk about Tim Tebow. All he
does is win at the end. It's exactly what Kayler
Williams is doing. And I'm not even the difference is
I'm not mad. I'm talking about when you do this
the same thing. If Patrick mahomes, well, he just comes

(08:19):
through it to win. He won the game. So you
pick and choose when winning matters. You do that all
the time. But that's just your thing. Oh, it's only
winning wins and losses. But then if a certain team wins,
it's who plays the schedule. Look at their schedule. So
you pick and choose what you want to do. That
what I said about Kayler Williams is this team there's
a higher ceiling. There's room because if Cayleb Williams was

(08:40):
on target with his strolls, his own coach two three
weeks ago said we're winning in spite of our passing game.
So I was simply coming in and saying, man if
Cayleb Williams can be on point more, man if Kayla
Williams doesn't have them in situations where they're down all
these games you just mentioned, why are they down so
many times with two minutes left? That's all I was saying.

(09:00):
Cayler Williams was a Heisman Trophy winner, a number one pick,
touted the best quarterback prospect since Andrew Love, and all
I was simply saying, we come in, we gotta have
topics every week, and I would say, man, you know
what this team looks, looks like they could be. Some
said if he would get rolling, if he would start making,
and that's what we.

Speaker 4 (09:17):
Sayn win the division. This is what going to make.

Speaker 3 (09:20):
This is one weeks ago when I said it, So
I stand by what I said that Caleb Williams has
a lot to be desired.

Speaker 1 (09:27):
He has come back, he has made some great throws.
But all I've been saying is the same thing. Somebody
who ate you or me sit next to him every
day and said that they had been winning in spite
of that.

Speaker 3 (09:38):
Come on, man, you told said that talking about Johnson,
you wanted, you wanted to be better.

Speaker 1 (09:44):
But the coach talking about it, Caleb Williams your watching
and watched he was going to be half I didn't
say that, you did. I said, though, go look exactly
what I said. That's what you said. No, exactly what
I said. That said that his coach, Oh, he's going
to be God. And that's say are you kidding me?

(10:06):
First of all, Kayler Williams. Last season, I was the
one who said, everybody's coming in. You either look at
him half full or half empty. I looked at him
half full. And you know I said that because I said,
and you know it's true. I said he had a
terrible coach that cost him three or four games? Did
I not say that? Did I not say that? As
you like to say yes or.

Speaker 4 (10:24):
No question, I don't remember.

Speaker 3 (10:26):
Now you don't remember, boy, you conveniently forget stuff. Let
me look it up on you start about it as
we have a producer extraordinaire, robb g How many times
did I say, man, I tell you what Kayle.

Speaker 1 (10:38):
Exactly? Robbie? How many times I said? Where would that line?
Thank you.

Speaker 7 (10:45):
Say it?

Speaker 1 (10:46):
I said, I remember. My whole point is I said,
Kaylus Williams rookie year was actually glass half full for me.
That's all I said. And then coming to this year,
you talked about him, not talked about it after I said,
that's hen Johnson.

Speaker 4 (11:01):
Don't like he's kind of a quarter can't what you say?

Speaker 1 (11:04):
What I've said?

Speaker 4 (11:05):
What you did? You just said this the last time
knowledge it admitted.

Speaker 3 (11:09):
No.

Speaker 1 (11:10):
What I've said was there's room to be desired with
Kayler Williams. I said he's off target. He has the
number one off targets in the past in the league.
I said, what is completion? Percentage is low? It's fifty
eight percent age. What mean you can't win up your percentage?

Speaker 4 (11:26):
What I mean? What does it mean?

Speaker 1 (11:29):
I literally have said the same thing.

Speaker 4 (11:30):
What does it mean?

Speaker 1 (11:31):
I'm about asking you that if the Bears could be very,
very scary, if Kayler Williams was on point, Jared GoF
that's completion rate. And guess what, they're not even going
to the playoffs. But what we're talking about, kayleb. So
when I come on after a Monday, after the Bears
whatever particular week, and we're talking about it, I say, Man,
the Bears, I don't know about them. I would be

(11:51):
a little worried at times because Kayler Williams hasn't been able.

Speaker 3 (11:55):
He has so much room to grow on what that
that's literally he's a second year of me. He's a
second year quarterback, the new coach, new offense. So all
you're watching the games and looking at this because because
I watching this game had for him and you can
make it up, keep going. You can conjured lie on.

Speaker 4 (12:15):
You said make it up. You played them up together
and for what was going to be benched, you go on,
keep making it up.

Speaker 1 (12:21):
Rob All I've simply said is the same thing as
coach said that they had won some games in spite
of him, that he had gotten them down ten points
whatever it is under team got them down because he
would missed some throws. Robins free it is on you.
I don't have this is what you like to do either.
They're the goats are the greatest thing you've ever seen,
or their trash. I can come in and be nuances saying,

(12:42):
oh you fop flop. I know no, you can come
in and get caught up. I can come in and
say you, AyL Williams, that didn't it.

Speaker 4 (12:51):
Just stand on it.

Speaker 1 (12:52):
You could, I would stand on it.

Speaker 4 (12:55):
Why would I think he's gonna be bitch? You said it?

Speaker 1 (12:57):
I wish I had two more fees.

Speaker 4 (12:59):
You said it.

Speaker 1 (13:00):
All I've ever said about Caleb is they have been
They had some games this year they.

Speaker 4 (13:04):
That they didn't want them, that they have to clocking
room didn't want them. I thought, that's what you said.

Speaker 1 (13:09):
Caleb Williams has had some horrible moments of rough moments
throughout the season, throughout the particular week. If I saw
something on a Sunday, I came in, talked about it
on a Monday, what's wrong with that? I came in
saw it on a Sunday, said, man, they won that
game in Spider him the defense got some opportunistic turnovers,
or man, thank God for the running game. That's all
I said. I analyzed what I saw the night before,

(13:30):
or the day before.

Speaker 4 (13:30):
Or the weekend before. He had glasses because you've bossed
on Caleb Williams.

Speaker 3 (13:36):
That he gets irrational talent and it's ridiculous. Literally, no
suspect you gave william So you're not mad.

Speaker 1 (13:46):
You're mad because I wanted the generational talent to start
playing like a generation the second year won a new code.
So mad new coach because I come in and say, man,
it's general rational talent. I want him to start playing
like to fail.

Speaker 3 (14:01):
And that's what you want to because this is your
inner your inner self didn't want him to play well
because you still have the Lions.

Speaker 4 (14:08):
And you don't want to want you wanted him to
be bad. I wanted him to be bad so that
the Lions could win a division.

Speaker 1 (14:15):
Yes, no, I believe I don't care about us in
our guard watched the game because he's.

Speaker 4 (14:22):
In the way of the Lions.

Speaker 1 (14:24):
Literally just said he's going to be there for you.
I just told who's that you can you like to
make up these guards and teams. I didn't not say
he's gonna be the worst quarterback ever. I said there
have been multiple games this season where they could have
they could have been put out a better performance if
he played well, and sports that a short men to
use that selective.

Speaker 3 (14:44):
Age seven seven ninety Fox eight seven seven about I
don't care how you've been with that season. We'll continue
that conversation next with you. It's better than putting up
phony percentage number.

are you feeling about Caleb and the Bears right now?
Eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox We got Shack
in Richmond, Virginia. You're on the couple of Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 4 (16:55):
What's up?

Speaker 9 (16:55):
Shock?

Speaker 1 (16:56):
Merry Christmas?

Speaker 6 (16:58):
Things you brother, what's going on?

Speaker 7 (17:00):
What's going on?

Speaker 6 (17:00):
Kevin? Hey man, Hey Rod, We're gonna like the hater
in the room even here. This is me and you
talking about Yes, when Ben Johnson said we're winning in
spite of our passing game, they forgotten the quotes before that.

Speaker 10 (17:15):
So let's get into that.

Speaker 6 (17:17):
And then all of our past catchers we just harped.

Speaker 9 (17:20):
On the day.

Speaker 6 (17:20):
We need to be more disciplined than our route detail.
Thank you not where it needs to be, our deaths
not proper all the time, our steps are. Everybody has
a role to play. Thank you, past game up, So
why does that always get conveniently left out? And when
the Wings become like the most hated quarterback, it's getting weird.

Speaker 4 (17:39):
It is I know what it is. Shack he is?

Speaker 1 (17:42):
He is?

Speaker 3 (17:43):
Why could because he paints his nails and a lot
of people can't get over it.

Speaker 4 (17:47):
They brought that up. They can't.

Speaker 3 (17:49):
They don't have to get up, they don't have to
say it shocked. That's the reason he's a different guy.
I hear people say he wears bell bottoms.

Speaker 1 (17:58):
What they're wearing bail bottoms right now? No, But I'm
just saying, like I hear people say that like he's
I genuinely didn't think he was the most hated. I
could have said, you could have named a couple other people.
I'd have thought that over him.

Speaker 3 (18:09):
Mike in Peoria, Illinois, you're in the odd Couple of
Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 4 (18:13):
What's up, Mike, H.

Speaker 11 (18:15):
Pleasure to be with you guys again.

Speaker 4 (18:17):
Thank you, buddy, wish.

Speaker 11 (18:19):
We were just down this road. Two weeks ago, Calvin
was calling Caleb the weakest thing.

Speaker 4 (18:27):
Thank you, thank you. I know what I said. What
I'm this is what I'm talking about.

Speaker 1 (18:34):
You know it.

Speaker 4 (18:35):
Mike, if you listen to the Odd Couple, he's best Caleb.

Speaker 11 (18:43):
Let me let me get to one thing. I want
to point out about what Calvin said, because I just
I don't understand. Sometimes I wonder who's thinking before they're talking.
When you say that that Caleb's got the comeback wins,
and then somebody says, well, why they behind? They gotta
be coming back. Hey, last time I checked, you're behind

(19:04):
because your defense isn't preventing the other team from scoring.
That's just what I said two weeks ago.

Speaker 4 (19:11):
Thank you, thank you, thank you very much.

Speaker 9 (19:15):
Rob.

Speaker 11 (19:16):
I don't know how you knew it. Every night Rob.

Speaker 4 (19:18):
It's hard, but I'm here.

Speaker 1 (19:22):
They were putting out these offensive out outputs, is what
he saying. But talking about him, hold on, I'm just saying.
So he just made it like they put up forty
points in the defense. Honestly, what you asked decided, how
would they behind scoring? No because the other team is scoring.
It's not because they're not. I scored nine to ten points. No,
the other team is scoring.

Speaker 9 (19:42):
No.

Speaker 3 (19:42):
But if the other team is scoring, you could have behind, right,
But I'm saying it will be a problem with that tune.

Speaker 1 (19:47):
It's okay what you asked, how do they behind with you?
But he's insinuating that every game as if the other
ta That's how there have been many a games. You
told me that they would gauge with Caleb to five
pick six is in they're behind fourteen to nothing, didn't.
I can find the only way you can be down
is being down in the game is defense. So is

(20:10):
not hurting the team?

Speaker 3 (20:11):
Sean in Sacramento, you're on the couple of Fox Sports Radio,
What's up?

Speaker 4 (20:16):
Show's up?

Speaker 10 (20:16):
Sean, Yo, my augle from another mother, cousin Kelby and
my brother's behind the board man love Kelvin I was
with you, Bro, Thank you, Bro. Queen his dad pre draft,
trying to figure out a way for him to not
go to Chicago. The comments from the head coach, the
revolving door for the coaching staff fired to him even
getting there, and just how bad Caleb looked. I thought

(20:37):
it was justin Fields, Junior.

Speaker 11 (20:39):
I'm not gonna lie to you, which makes Rob.

Speaker 10 (20:42):
Parker's call to start the season even more incredible.

Speaker 12 (20:45):
This man between called the Chiefs not in the.

Speaker 10 (20:48):
Playoffs a game away from the Lions not being in
the playoffs.

Speaker 12 (20:52):
Watching Aaron Rodgers resurgence in Pittsburgh. I know your bathtub
gotten up baby oil to make Citty blush right now?
Smoking them new ports keep ashing up on the ceiling.
You are going off in twenty twenty five, and I don't.

Speaker 7 (21:07):
Want to know what's going on in twenty twenty six.
Take that for data.

Speaker 1 (21:11):
My man shout out to Sean, Merry Christmas to you, brother,
appreciate you, Thank you, Sean.

Speaker 4 (21:16):
Somebody's out there keeping score. Take that for data.

Speaker 1 (21:19):
I don't know what you said about you know, I'm
arguing with you some On the other side, we got
some Ben Arthur Fox Sports NFL reporter getting ready to
join us until.

Speaker 4 (21:28):
I think I had to get on Ben's case.

Steve, thank you, have a great night, Siakable Robin Kelvin
on a Magic City Monday. And also, every goal starts
with an assist on and off the field. That's why
Heleon and US Soccer are launching for the Assists, which
is a celebration of every acts of support that helped
people achieve their goals with iconic brands like Cincinni and Toms,
voltairean Advil and Sentrum. And if you want to learn more,

(22:07):
go to Haley Onassis dot com. Right now joined by
Ben Arthur, he is Fox Sports NFL reporter. Happy Holidays.
By the way, give might follow Ben Why Arthur on X?
What's up?

Speaker 9 (22:17):
Ben?

Speaker 4 (22:18):
What's happening?

Speaker 7 (22:19):
What's up?

Speaker 11 (22:19):
Guys?

Speaker 7 (22:20):
Thanks for having me, no.

Speaker 1 (22:21):
Doubt, absolutely appreciate it. I mean we got to start
here real quick. Rob, I mean you covered the AFC South.
We're looking at a forty four year old going toe
to toe right now with the forty nine ers. Forty
nine ers up twenty one to fourteen. But just the
whole last couple of weeks for Philip Rivers in this
organization were initial reaction to once you heard he was
gonna be coming.

Speaker 7 (22:42):
Back, Yeah, my first reaction was I was concerned for
his health, all right, I that was my first reaction.
I mean mentally, I had no questions, right, like from
the from the neck up. I mean, we know what
he's done in this league. We know how advanced he
he processed, processes the game, and his relationship with Shane Steichen,

(23:05):
and I think everyone has heard about how at his
height at the high school he's been coaching in Alabama,
they are running the same offense as the Cult. So
like from a mental standpoint, you didn't really have any questions,
but like physically that was the big thing, right And
how would it feel when you'd get hit by like
twenty three year olds that are like six four two fifty, right, Like,

(23:27):
those were like the questions I had. And credit to
him that first game in Seattle. He's balling right now,
as you alluded to. But that first game in Seattle,
I was pretty impressed. I mean, the Seahawks have like
a top three defense, you know that. They even hit
him a couple of times in that game, but he
seemed to bounce right back up.

Speaker 3 (23:46):
And man, they should have won that game, won a chance. Yeah,
but they held Seattle to six field goals at home. Okay,
and you don't win that game. I'm against this whole thing,
cronyism taking care of each other.

Speaker 4 (24:01):
I just don't like it.

Speaker 3 (24:02):
A forty four year old hasn't played five years in
the league. I hope they lose every game and don't
make the playoffs.

Speaker 4 (24:08):
I'm just I don't like it. I don't like it.

Speaker 3 (24:11):
And if they win the game, then I'll say I'm wrong.
I don't see them winning any games and not making
the playoffs. I just there's something wrong with it as
far as putting a guy out there hasn't played in
five years.

Speaker 4 (24:24):
To me, just is disrespectful to the game. That's hope.

Speaker 7 (24:28):
Yeah, honestly, that's kind of how I've felt too, I mean,
beyond kind of the whole concerns about his well being. Yeah,
I kind of felt the same way too, And imagine
like you're a quarterback in this league, right, like the
what is it? Riley Leonard?

Speaker 9 (24:43):
Who?

Speaker 5 (24:44):
Right?

Speaker 7 (24:45):
Right, Brett Rippon, Like guys, younger guys who are looking
for their chance as backups, right, that's your role as
a backup when the starter goes down. You're supposed to
be able to have that. The coachings have it is
both have that trust in you to come in and
to trust the guy who hasn't played in five years
and is in his mid forties.

Speaker 3 (25:05):
And and if you look at him and home, okay,
people look it up, Google it. He looks like George
Blanda who was a kicker back in the fifties or something.

Speaker 4 (25:16):
He looks awful in that uniform.

Speaker 7 (25:20):
Yeah, he does not look like he's in shape at all.
He doesn't move well even his throws. I mean that
he's had, you know, a few touchdowns to this every
ball like there's no zip.

Speaker 6 (25:31):
There's zip at all.

Speaker 1 (25:33):
Zero zip.

Speaker 7 (25:34):
I mean high school guys would better zip.

Speaker 6 (25:36):
On their patty.

Speaker 1 (25:37):
Yeah, we talked about it, we both. I just thought
it was an indictments. Quarterback said there's not another option
that They were like, oh, I love him and everything,
but we're going with this.

Speaker 3 (25:45):
Yeah, this is the crony, but that's his buddy though. Yeah, no, no, no,
it was anybody else. It wouldn't take any other quarterback.
They were friends.

Speaker 4 (25:52):
It worked out.

Speaker 3 (25:52):
It was the best situation for him, all right. But
the jackar was let's go there and and Lawrence where
he is. And this thing is this team has turned
the corner, which is incredible. Uh, they go to Denver
and they win a big game. They win a big game.

Speaker 9 (26:08):
Yeah.

Speaker 7 (26:08):
I think the biggest thing with the Jaguars, they've really
leaned into that whole underdog thing, right, Like we I
think we've all seen Liam Cohen's remarks small Market, you know,
alluding to what Sean Payton had said in the lead
up to the game. Uh, you know Trayvon Walker in
the postgame lock locker room, you know, pursing talking about

(26:31):
how you know, all the people trying to come on
the bandwagon, now you can stay at home. Trevor Lawrence
a few weeks ago saying essentially that the same thing,
like keep writing us off. Like they've really embodied that
in a in a really powerful way. And it starts
with Liam Cohen, who's done a terrific job. I mean,
you know, it's probably Coach of the Year is probably

(26:53):
a three maybe a three person race, I mean, and
Liam Cohn is right up in there. And this dec
is playing at a really, really high level and for
the offense to kind of catch up. These past few weeks,
I think three or four straight games where they've scored
at least thirty four points, Trevor Lawrence is kind of
looking like the Clemson Trevor Lawrence for the last three weeks.

(27:15):
I mean, this is really this is a really, really,
really dangerous team right now, and they need to be
taken seriously.

Speaker 1 (27:23):
Well, I mean another team I think about six weeks ago,
give or take, if you were saying questioning should they
be taking seriously, and that would be the Texas. Now,
all of a sudden, they've turned their season round. They
won Super Bowl D seven straight. Their defense and I've
always been talking about this, how their defense last year
and this year kept them around while the offense try
to figure some things out.

Speaker 4 (27:41):
Now they sit here, ten and five winners, a seventh straight.

Speaker 1 (27:43):
We're talking about these two teams in the AFC South,
who I mean, the AFC is open, and I would
imagine they both feel like we can get this done.
If you're the Texan talk about how they got here
to ten and five.

Speaker 7 (27:54):
Yeah, it starts with what you said. The defense. I mean,
this is by far the best dec in the NFL.
It's not even close. I know, maybe it hasn't been
to their standard the last couple of weeks, right, like
giving up what was it twenty one to the Raiders
last week and and the week before. I'm struggling to
remember who they played. Oh, it was the Cardinals. They

(28:14):
gave up like twenty or so, and I know they
weren't happy about that. The defenders on that team, Yeah,
they've put up forty. But yeah, overall, I mean this
is a championship caliber defense obviously, and if you can
continue to get enough from the offense, I mean you
could they could go very very far. I mean, and
I'm still a big believer in Stroud. I know a

(28:35):
lot of people have kind of been off of him
just the last couple of years. Things haven't really gone
their way on me.

Speaker 4 (28:43):
I'm an off.

Speaker 7 (28:47):
Yeah, And I don't blame you. I don't. I don't
blame you. It's been far too inconsistent to really to
be to have like maybe full trust in them. But
like I think, with how good this defense is, I'm
confident enough in Stroud and Nico Collins to make those
few big plays a game for them to win low

(29:08):
scoring games. So I would say I'm more confident about
the Jaguars right now. But with that formula for the Texans,
right like, winning with defense, getting just those kind of
big plays and big moments from Stroud, Nico, those guys
like I like them.

Speaker 1 (29:27):
So well, let me ask you, yeah, let me ask
you a more broader AFC question right now, we're used
to have any four horsemen conversations, right Lamar obviously has
just been a difficult season for him physically. The team
has looked great, Joe Burrow in and out. Now he's back,
but they don't look great. And then obviously the Chiefs
were a shell of themselves and now they're out, and

(29:48):
obviously you know who was hurt. So who is a
young guy that's in this position now that you say
they got a great chance to win this or is
it just wide open?

Speaker 7 (29:58):
It is kind of wide open. I mean the Jaguars,
as we've talked about, I think they have a chance.
I never would have said that two months ago, but
they really have a chance. I'd want to say the Patriots,
but just because we haven't seen Drake may that in
the playoffs yet, Like, I'm kind of I don't quite
know about that. I mean the Broncos. I mean Broncos.

(30:19):
I mean that they have We've talked about the Texans defense.
Broncos defense is very legit. I mean, Jacks took advantage
of them yesterday, but overall, I mean that's still a
championship caliber defense. And Bo Knicks has taken a step.
I mean it hasn't always been super consistent with the
Broncos offensively, but I think they might. From from start

(30:43):
of the season to now, they've maybe been the most.
They're probably the team I'm most confident in in the postseason,
just because of its Bo Nicks's clutch. Right, Like you
could think whatever you want about Knicks, but like in
the clutch been largely really really good, and their defense
is really really good. They get after quarterbacks and so

(31:07):
Denver is up there for sure. But but yeah, it
is pretty much wide open. I don't this is in
a year where you can say, you know, one or
two teams kind of happened in the bag. I think
I didn't even mention the bills. Bills are in the
mix as well. But but yeah, I'd say it's pretty
wide open, no doubt.

Speaker 1 (31:23):
Hey, Well, we appreciate you, man, Thank you so much.

Speaker 4 (31:25):
Man, Thanks for the knowledge.

Speaker 1 (31:26):

Hey Ron. If I want to go on the water
and take a boat, what do I take?

Speaker 4 (33:49):
Pook a CANOEA? I thank you, Rob.

Speaker 3 (33:54):
Pooka CANOEAE said, I want to take an old man river.
All right, Kevin and pencil Tucky, you're on the couple
of Fox Sports Radio and you are the last call.

Speaker 4 (34:07):
Pooka canwah?

Speaker 9 (34:09):
All right, Yon, yes you are, go ahead, buddy, all right,
all right, let's make it a double. Then I'm gonna
say this. I'm a PA guy. I'm a Steeler fan,
and unlike a perceived conception, I'm a Tomlin supporter and
a Tomlins fan. And what I like about him primarily

(34:32):
is that it's not mediocrity, it's consistent winning. And props
to him for having to stealers set the record for
the most consecutive non losing seasons. That's a great accomplishment.
Anybody can win one Super Bowl, which he's done. But
I think twenty two years without a losing season three
with Cower in nineteen with him is great and he

(34:53):
should be getting a lot of credit for that.

Speaker 3 (34:55):
Okay, but at some point, and you gotta win. Okay,
you can't live off that. You're not a Supreme Court justice,
you're not a tenurar College professor, you're not the pope.
At some point, you know, like, that's fine, I'm not
gonna get fire. But now they haven't won a playoff
game since twenty sixteen?

Speaker 1 (35:15):
Is that what it is? Twenty seventeen? Maybe something like?

Speaker 4 (35:17):
Yeah, like like, at some point you gotta win that.

Speaker 1 (35:19):
Yeah, Kevin call gat appreciate the car, and I agree
that I'm not I'm not like nobody saying the minute.
If they let him go, he would have a coach
before he could even get it.

Speaker 4 (35:28):
It's somewhere else. But but that's fine.

Speaker 1 (35:30):
You can't expect at some point, Hey, we want to
just win more. We talked about it.

Speaker 3 (35:35):
They did Lewis, They did it with Tony Dune, Okay,
and guess what, John Guten showed up and they won
a super Bowl the next season. So you know you
can say, oh, well, Tony dune. You want to go
to the colt and winning super Bowl, which is great,
and maybe he was gonna win one, and maybe the
same thing when win a super Bowl, But but at
some point in Pittsburgh just you know, finishing over five hundred,

(35:58):
it's just not enough.

Speaker 1 (36:00):
And I agree, just simply based off like who they are,
Like if they're the Panthers, we've went on this streak
and no losing seasons or something. The Cardinals, I totally
would get it, but based off but even Tempa.

Speaker 3 (36:10):
Bay did it when they hadn't won anything, but they
were frustrated, say we.

Speaker 1 (36:14):
Want to get over the hump, and it happened.

Speaker 3 (36:16):
So and again he's been there, what twenty years or eighteen,
nineteen years, whatever it is. That's a heck of a run.

Speaker 1 (36:23):
Like that doesn't happen in twenty twenty sports, right, Hey,
guys went coach of the year, get fired the next year.
That's not even far fetch. That's happened regularly in particular sports,
especially in the NBA. So you know, the idea that
this isn't as far festered them wanting to move on.
That's not crazy, it really isn't.

Speaker 3 (36:40):
And at the half, right we got about se minutes
before the second half stars twenty four.

Speaker 4 (36:44):
Twenty four to seventeen.

Speaker 1 (36:46):
They missed, Uh, forty nine ers missed the field go
at the end of the first half. It literally hit
off the bottom of the upright. It was a deep one.
I think it might have been like sixty yards. I
didn't get a chance to see them. That's the forty
nine ers, forty nine, forty nine ers. Right at halftime,
they were marching hit he hit the crossbar. Yep, hit
the crossbar there. Otherwise they'd be up tim but they're
up seven.

Speaker 2 (37:04):
Philip Rivers.

Speaker 1 (37:05):
Look, he looks good. I can't front. I want to front,
can't front. He looks good right now.

Speaker 4 (37:11):
In the second half, two picks and they lose by
three touchdowns.

Speaker 1 (37:15):
They got a whole second half to play. But he
looked good right now. And Brock party where they want
four straight Since he's been back. Uh, they've been an
interesting team because we talked about the Seahawks in that division.
You talk obviously the Rams, but the forty nine ers
just kind of creeping around there and hanging around. And
now they're gonna playoff Ben and they're gonna be one
of those teams that as they've been to the Super Bowl,
been an NFC championship game. They want to day we
talk about getting over the hump. That's what they want

(37:37):
to do. Rams got one, you know a few years back,
Uh Seahawks have you know, obviously they were trying to
get one. The forty nine ers want to get over
that hump because they've been a good team, a really
good team. But they want to get over that hump
because they've been close.

Speaker 4 (37:52):
I don't think. I don't think they ever gonna win
with Shanahan. I'm gonna be real.

Speaker 1 (37:55):
They don't think he finally exercises the demons, No, because
he's terrible fourth quarters when the games matters.

Speaker 4 (38:00):
As long as he just runs the ball, maybe, but
he doesn't do it.

Speaker 1 (38:03):
No, it is a game out every now and again.

Speaker 4 (38:06):
The Jason Smith Show with Mike Harmon is coming up next.
I never miss your radio show. I never hear it,
so I never miss it.

Speaker 1 (38:13):
Did you hear that
