Speaker 1 (01:01):
Just watch us live right now and then search a
Couple FSR and subscribe. All right, A lot to get to,
including last call. We talk about teams signing players all
the time and whatnot.
Speaker 2 (01:17):
It's got interesting. Sometimes teams get it right.
Speaker 1 (01:21):
I think we will talk about that about you know, uh,
they back out of a contract, back out of a deal.
Most of the time they wind up regretting it. But
We'll give an example of a time where a team
probably recommend when down there. Yeah, you know what I'm saying.
I'm just saying, all.
Speaker 2 (01:38):
Right, good game. By the way, eighty two eighty one
mix up one against Philly. Foreman is left in the
third this game, I'm.
Speaker 1 (01:44):
Not I'm just like I said, the Knicks were you
know the odds. They shot the lights out.
Speaker 2 (01:49):
Of the ball. It's great sixers.
Speaker 1 (01:52):
There's a lot of reasons to just say we can't
do it, you know what I mean, and no embad
and all that, but that's not how it is.
Speaker 2 (01:58):
What I like from it too is freeze up their
best player and Tyree well, I mean, it gets complicated
because it'll be missing so much that Tyre's Maxie becomes
their best player for so many stretches of the season.
But he gets to get freer and he balls out.
So it's kind of good to see him, you know
what I mean, Like, just do you you don't have
to overthink it so well if you should be a
good one. As we get those in the fourth quarter,
we're we out. Rob g. There's a squirmish going on.
(02:23):
What's new?
Speaker 1 (02:25):
All of these former athletes or athletes who want to
be talking heads to quote unquote new media and everything
is personal. Everybody has their panties in a bunch big
books and we talk about it. This is why very
few guys who are they're guys who are really good
at it, former athletes, but most of them are awful
and most of them are gonna be bad because they
(02:46):
can't separate the person, you know what I mean, like
you just they can't separate themselves from the idea that
they used to be competitors with people and they can't be.
Speaker 2 (02:56):
You know, who does a great job before we get
to who isn't real quick? He's my favorite. Kevin Garnet.
You feel me, feels me rob g. He he can
have a beef with you. When he were in the court,
he is completely done. He'll say that person's amazing. He
used to give me buckets or he just he's not
an old better our way or this way. He just
he explains things so well. Now you're gonna get some
(03:17):
curse words and if you're thinking, you know, he's gonna
air it on on radio or TV. But KG is
great at that. He's kind of the opposite of what
you're what you're talking about.
Speaker 1 (03:24):
But it's too I agree, like even a guy like Shaq,
who should be on a different level where he can't
even he can't even acknowledge Kareem Abdul Jabbar, I just
that that just makes me muskin crawl rob G.
Speaker 4 (03:39):
Yeah, they're calling this one, guys, the biggest conflict between
the dark and the light skin since Drake and Kendrick
lamarn God, Draymond Green and Austin Rivers the beef we
didn't know we needed who knew?
Speaker 2 (03:50):
Let me take you in the hot tip time machine.
Just about a week ago. This is how it all started.
Speaker 4 (03:54):
Draymond Green said on his own podcast Unsolicited that he
believes his career trajectory might have been hindered by Steve Kerr,
that Steve Kerr never drew up any plays for him,
that Steve Kerr made him a jack of all trades
kind of option.
Speaker 2 (04:09):
He never became the offensive force.
Speaker 4 (04:12):
Maybe he could have if he was showcased in a
different way the way he was in Michigan State. So
a few days later, Austin Rivers, now a member of
the media.
Speaker 2 (04:22):
He was showcased. He played well, that showcase is a bit.
Speaker 4 (04:25):
You know, Okay, was asked about those comments on the
Dan Patrick Hill right here on Fox Sports Radio, and
he said, quote, it's ridiculous. Draymond is such a high Q.
That's a big part of his game, is how smart
of a player he is. So what bewilders me he
even thinks that, And he wasn't the only one. A
lot of people took. Gives you what Draymond said. But
Draymond felt a kind of way about Austin Rivers being
the one to call him out until he had on
(04:46):
his own podcast. Again goes off and saying, you know,
I was actually a comparable high school player to you,
because that's the only success you ever had, and that
he wasn't by the way he he made it very personal,
and he says, this is the best part I'm talking
about Austin Rivers.
Speaker 2 (05:05):
Quote.
Speaker 4 (05:05):
This guy received the biggest bailout in US history. Prior
to President Trump bailing out the airlines when they needed it,
Austin Rivers received the biggest bailout in abe a history,
excuse me, world history, US history received the biggest bailout
ever when his dad gave him forty two million dollars.
Speaker 2 (05:21):
Of course, talking about Doc Rivers with the Clippers, well.
Speaker 4 (05:24):
Austin Rivers decided to go full Ether on Instagram last
night with his response to Draymond Green.
Speaker 2 (05:32):
Let's hear part of it on Instagram.
Speaker 5 (05:34):
Austin Rivers, Draymond, you were the luckiest basketball player I
think I've ever seen, especially in modern day history. Let's
talk about that you were drafted to a franchise with
the Hall of Fame front office, Bob Myers, Hall of
Fame coach stinker, the greatest shooter of all time and
(05:55):
perhaps the top five player of all time. Steph Curry,
Hall of Famer, one of the greatest top five shooter
of all time. Another Hall of Famer, Klay Thompson, the
Swiss Army Knife himself, the guy who could do a
little bit of everything on the floor under a dollar,
another Hall of Famer. I know, keep up is a
lot of talent, not to mention one of the most
lethal scores of all time and arguably a top ten
player of all time. Kevin Durant, the same guy you
(06:15):
chased off because of this your mouth.
Speaker 2 (06:17):
You talk too much.
Speaker 5 (06:18):
And that's not even counting the plethora of talent around
those guys that DeShawn Levinson's the Barbosa's the Andrew Wiggins
the Pools who you also chased off. Cut it out, Dreymone,
You're the backpack jump shooter.
Speaker 2 (06:32):
You're the guy that everyone leaves open.
Speaker 3 (06:33):
No one guards you.
Speaker 2 (06:35):
There are hours and hours and hours of film of.
Speaker 5 (06:37):
Just you being left white open, in fact that anybody
could just YouTube or google or watch any Draymond game ever,
and he's opened all game. There are close of you
getting a rebound and just driving in a straight line and.
Speaker 2 (06:46):
Just getting the white open layer because everyone's.
Speaker 5 (06:48):
Fanning out to guard the actual talent on the team.
Talk about Steve Kurr hinted your career, bro, Steve Kerr
made your career. How dare you coming at me? Are
you kidding me?
Speaker 2 (06:56):
Oh?
Speaker 3 (06:56):
Which I could give muscle on two hundred million dollars
with balls a coach you know, the NBA.
Speaker 5 (07:00):
He doesn't give coaches coaching jobs of guys who may
or may not sucker punch for the players in staff.
Speaker 3 (07:04):
You need to fall back and Dre, let's just be
front of these.
Speaker 2 (07:07):
He did end it very drake like. That sounded like
that sounded like all I'm gonna say is.
Speaker 1 (07:14):
Very much Austin Rivers is my new hero, period point blank.
Why so, because I think that he took Draymond apart,
and rightfully so, dra The whole thing was ridiculous and
that was why Austin rivers you the right ridiculous. Okay,
plenty of players don't have plays drawn up for him
for them. And when I even talked to you about
(07:36):
the Ben Wallace when Larry Brown was there, They're not
going to redo the playbook because Ben Wallace ain't. What
do they do the first basket of the game they
gave the ball had been whatever, and they went back.
Speaker 2 (07:48):
To doing what they done and rip off the curl exactly.
You know what I'm saying. So uh. And then for
him to say they had comparable career, what was the
player of the country.
Speaker 1 (08:02):
Comparable like college careers, not comparable lottery pick, second round pick.
Nothing is comparable about those two and their basketball talent.
And I've said this before. He could have gone to
a lot of thirty other teams. Forget thirty, right, thirty
other teams. Twenty five of them would not be where
(08:22):
he is and set up. Even when the Pistons offered
him all that money, you remember to come back home
and play. You think he was crazy, right, he could
have got paid. He knew that him going there wouldn't
be anything. He's not that type of player. He's not
going to alter unchange a franchise. He's a player who
(08:42):
has his own skill set and is valuable. But come on, man,
He's in a perfect situation. And of course Tom Brady
has the title of the low the luckiest of all time.
But Draymond Green is in that class too. Everything is
fortunate for him and it all works out, and that's
why he is where he is.
Speaker 2 (09:04):
Oh you got your ticket? Ron, Are you ready for
the Apology Tour? Because this is getting ready to happen.
Draymond does this where he goes too far, takes stuff personally,
takes shots and people said too much and any why
didn't mean like that? I probably too, You know, I
get it as an ex athlete. I probably went to
bought da Get ready, get your tickets for the apology
(09:26):
Tour because he's gonna apologize to what he said about
Steve curR. That's coming because Steve curR is in a
very key critical moment of his life right trying to
figure out what to do. Do I move on, do
I stay with my family. Now do I come back
and coach again? Do I do do TV? And you're
and then you're already out here like I like him
in all, but this is what I could have been.
I could have been this that's coming. I think he's
gonna be an apology tour to Austin Rivers because I think
(09:47):
he's gonna realize. Austin Rivers started off complimenting him. His
singular point was your IQ is what made you great.
I'm actually shot you feel like this. So he was
complimenting them, saying, you have a great skill set, you
were masterful at what you did, one of the best
of all time at what you do. So why was
that necessarily a negative thing? So why are you and
your feelings about this? Are you an NBA player, Rob
(10:08):
or is he a media member? Because part of being
an NBA player is media members. Now that Austin reeves
is they criticize your game, criticized the thing, So why
are you sensitive? This is him talking about a player
who's done or said some stuff. So this, Drake, make
up your mind, your media, your player. What are we
doing here? Because Austin Rivers says something about you the player,
that's what that's his job. That's his job. Dan Patrick
(10:28):
didn't have him on to just shrudd you. He wanted
to get you.
Speaker 1 (10:32):
Austin Rivers is a is a commentator. Now what did
you make of that? That's what he does. He gives
an opinion. Rivers goes, well, I can't answer that, or
I don't want to say anything about didn't guess what.
Speaker 2 (10:46):
Austin Rivers won't be on the Dan Patrick Show. And
he and oh and exactly. And he didn't make it
all personal bringing up your dad and your this and
your dad. That's personal, dram I stop being so sensitive.
The person who talks the most about everybody who punches
and chokes people probably being so sensitive. It doesn't make
any sense to me. Also, you were in a great
situation where because you were hyper focused on an individual
(11:09):
kind of a skill set, the thing that you do
best that made you a Hall of Famer. Like, that's
a good thing. You landed in a position where you
were able to focus on being the offensive nighter. You
got it going, and they play through you to get
the people the ball. That's fine. That's the best defender
on that team for twelve fifteen years. Those are complimentary
pieces that get you in the Hall of Fame. You
(11:30):
mentioned Ben Wallace, you mentioned a Dwight Howard, you mentioned
a Dennis Rodman like dude. There is a place for that.
So the idea that has to be a negative thing,
I just don't get it. And lastly, if Drayvond Green
was a Washington Wizard of Charlotte Horner the Detroit Piston
during the purgatory years, guess what would have happened. He
would have averaged eighteen the points. I believe it. And
(11:52):
guess what would have happened. He would have a three
year career. You know why, Punching people, choking people, cussing
out coaches, running off team, and it only works when
you got four ringsp It doesn't work when you were
just a guy on a team that's winning twelve, eighteen,
twenty five games. You would have been out of league.
Choking people, punching people, getting on the text, get costing
a team with fines and penalties and all that you
(12:13):
would it would not have worked out. Take the blessing.
You don't have to make it person. Austin Reeves was
not trying to disrespect and I don't want to keep
doing this tour with all these guys with the pods.
I'm sorry I went too far. I'm sorry I said that.
My bad on that. I don't I'm over it. It's
so bad. I'm with you and Austin like, I'm shocked
(12:35):
he would say that, considering he's a high Q guy,
knows what his role was. Right now, your dad and
your this, and he got like, why are you making
it personal?
Speaker 1 (12:41):
And a ball loud or whatever? He was He was
a lottery pick. Hey, you did Doc Rivers make him
a lottery pick?
Speaker 2 (12:49):
You know what I mean? He was a high school
player of the year. He was a lottery pick. He
only had to pay one year and was a lottery pick. Yes,
and and and his career wasn't the greatest. It happens.
But the idea that, like you have to make dress him,
because we.
Speaker 1 (13:01):
Talked about Christian Laden who we think is one of
the top college players of all time.
Speaker 2 (13:05):
He didn't have a great NBA career either. It happens.
If the idea that you have to go at one
of your guys and call to anybody that challenge you.
He says the wildest stuff he called what he called
that ass? No, no, he didn't. He did that was.
Speaker 5 (13:20):
It was?
Speaker 2 (13:21):
He said, No, that was McCoy. Shady McCoy called him, Yeah,
what d drake? We and I forgot what he called out.
People talk about we gotta apologize. My whole point is, dude,
like what rob g what did he called the dak?
Because now it's on the tip of my bum, that's
what I think. He said it was a bum and
he was I shouldn't do that. You know, he's playing.
Speaker 1 (13:39):
I get it, especially coming from an athlete who knows, yeah.
Speaker 2 (13:43):
He wins that. You know, he hasn't won in the
playoffs like that, but he wins at a high level.
Twelve and five three is like, I've just shocked that
for someone who acts like he's so enlightened and so
uh you know, intellectual, that he always has to go
back to the base to floor, you know, just it's
always in the gutter. And that's what he does. He
tries to claim like he's some.
Speaker 1 (14:08):
It's always run to the gutter and let me attack
anybody who has a foul I can have foul words
against everybody. As soon as somebody says anything about me,
I'm going to go there and attack them and tell
you it reminds me of somebody else who's around who
does that, and like like you just cannot ever say
anything about them without them attacking you immediately. And and
(14:31):
that's where Draymond is. And go ahead, ESPN and inside
the NBA and all that stuff you want to put
that guy on and whatever. It is so bad. It's
so bad that that they allow someone who's so immature,
so self centered, so mean spirited to be a voice
of the league and be you know what I mean,
(14:52):
have a voice like that. It's so bad.
Speaker 2 (14:54):
I'm just shocked to you with the Steve Kerr Like, dude,
even if you feel that way, you have the absolute
right to feel that way. Yeah, but when did he
do it? Because Steve, he occurs on the rope too.
He's on the ropes trying to figure out his life.
Like we didn't been through battles together, and in like now,
right now, I've stunted your growth and career. Like that's
a book conversation, that's a podcast, late, that's a one
on one. You have him on the show and have
an honest conversation with him. But the idea that you
(15:14):
just I'm trying to figure out what I'm doing and
figure out life and then you just add a little
fuel and that it's just unnecessary, all right.
Speaker 1 (15:20):
Eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox eight seven seven
nine nine six sixty three sixty nine. Is Austin Rivers
right when he says Draymond Green is the luckiest player
in the in NBA history. He's the load of the NBA.
Speaker 2 (15:35):
Tom Brady's the load of the NFL. Ah.
Speaker 1 (15:37):
Well, we'll continue that conversation next with you. It is
the odd couple where we deliver insight, not noid. Rob
Parker Kelvin Washington on a worship Wednesday, Stick and Stay America.

I couple Rod Parker kelvin Washington on a worship Wednesday,
halfway through the week weekend. Coming up, we got last
call on the way in a little bit at University
Member in New York. I mean it's a tide with
Oh yeah, it's a good one minute. Yeah, what is it?
Ninety four? Ninety four is ninety four? Right? Ninety four?
All great game started for we like seven minutes to go. Yes, seven,
you got a good game right now in New York,
(16:56):
big one for the Sixers. You can tie this up.
Going back home without Abyldy, I'd be huge. Yeah. So
we'll keep you updated on that as the show goes on.
By the way, University of Maryland Global Campus, you can
choose for more than sixty five graduate online degrees certificates,
including our NBA now with ten specializations, no application fee.
Did June first visit UMGC dot E d U all
(17:18):
right eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox, we got
pod Wars going on right now. Draymond talking smack to
Rivers talking smack back to Draymond and is Rauston Reevez right,
I mean Austin Rivers right about the way he's saying
Draymond is the luckiest guy in this modern era basketball.
We'll be Raymond, all right.
Speaker 1 (17:39):
I about Cameron in Louisville. You're on the couple of
Foxports Radio. What's up, Cameron?
Speaker 2 (17:44):
Hey, Rob?
Speaker 7 (17:45):
I appreciate that, man, all right.
Speaker 2 (17:46):
Thank you, my man, appreciate you.
Speaker 7 (17:49):
Fir's off, it's up. This is killing me and I'm
glady about this, Zeth. Draymond Green came into the league
lucky to get drafted to the ovation he did, could
be a marginal offensive offensive player, a good defensive player
but not a great player, and then emerge into a
role with great other players to be complimentary and to
(18:11):
win three championships. His egos got throwing flats. I want
one hundred millions, you know, coming after the Katie won
a championship. This guy is ridiculous, man, Austin Rivers man,
his father come a league. So what if he's if
he's somewhat of a nepotism baby, I mean Chris collins Worth,
his children in the league, you know, commentate himself just
because his name, I mean, Austin Rivers. At least you
(18:33):
said he wasn't a lot of to he put in
this game up.
Speaker 1 (18:36):
He was a top college player. I mean like, like,
let's not act like his dad snuck him.
Speaker 8 (18:42):
Yea, yeah, exactly exactly, Draymond, Well, we're being straight. He's
not He's not a good person. He's really not a
good person as far as like just a characters watch.
Speaker 1 (18:55):
Well, we always talk about it. The problem and thanks
for the call. Appreciate that. It's is about him always
going low, like always hitting below the belt, like never
being able to take criticism when when people are and
you're right, if you listen to the beginning that Austin
Breeze was not trying to attack.
Speaker 2 (19:12):
Let's say it was a little stinging to it. Well,
are you gonna do that for the rest of your life?
Draymond Advertimes says one little thing. Yes, dude, it's it's tired. Like, dude,
you have had a great career. You've also had mad blunders,
a bunch of people choking people strength, all that stuff.
People are gonna criticize some things, and it's okay.
Speaker 1 (19:31):
Tim Chili, Tim in Atlanta, you're on the odd couple
of Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 9 (19:38):
Whatever.
Speaker 10 (19:40):
How you been pretty good man? Pretty good? You know
season target I got used to season tickets.
Speaker 2 (19:46):
Man a lot more games now, But okay, nice.
Speaker 10 (19:49):
Yeah, but yeah, I can't believe I'm actually riding with
a dookie. But this time right, But.
Speaker 2 (19:56):
In this case, I don't know how you could to
be honest, I mean, come ahead to I have to.
Speaker 10 (20:01):
And the thing about it is is that can we
please stop prefacing his high i Q because after a while,
I don't get it high i Q people quickly learning,
they don't keep doing saying stupid things. So I'm not
even sure about the high i Q anymore. Less they're
talking about basketball i Q.
Speaker 2 (20:16):
But then that.
Speaker 10 (20:19):
Question, but I have to question that too, because he's
done some things that you know, uh, kind of hurt
you know, his team, and and put this team in
the position they might have. You know, a company may
have five championship, may I made some of the dumb
mistakes you make. So basketball IQ has to encomplish the
whole thing. But I don't even think he's a Hall
(20:40):
of fame man. I don't like you, rob basketball hall
of fame anybody pretty.
Speaker 2 (20:43):
Much get Yeah, I'm not arguing that Hall of Fame talent.
But he'll get there.
Speaker 10 (20:50):
He is lucky. I think he's been the product of
a system player, and that's okay because a lot of
guys have and it doesn't make you whatever. But he's
a snowflake. Snowflake to like Rob, like the person you
were talking about, you were referencing too. I know you
would talk about you know, can say anything, but anybody
else with the first hint of something said about them,
(21:10):
they just go lose their mind and go ballistic. I
call people like that snowflakes, Right, that's what I is.
Speaker 1 (21:15):
You can't say anything anything, and then all of a sudden,
you're the worst person in the world.
Speaker 2 (21:19):
Gosh right, thanks to no doubt. Appreciate it.
Speaker 1 (21:22):
How about we'll tell a couple more Jack. In North Carolina,
you're in the couple of sports radio, what's up?
Speaker 2 (21:27):
Jack?
Speaker 5 (21:29):
Hey, what's up?
Speaker 8 (21:29):
Rob?
Speaker 7 (21:29):
What's up?
Speaker 6 (21:30):
Call?
Speaker 7 (21:30):
And in South Carolina, Rob, I get it racked now.
Speaker 1 (21:32):
All right, that's how I was on my screen. I
apologize South Carolina.
Speaker 7 (21:37):
I knew the name to call him, man, I mean,
they pretty much tell him to use the one thing
about you know, the players we grew up watching you
had to have skin, you know, you had to get out.
But great one.
Speaker 10 (21:46):
He had a point.
Speaker 7 (21:46):
I feel like you're overteeving.
Speaker 9 (21:47):
For one and he do have to you know, like
like Austin say, man, you were blessed.
Speaker 7 (21:51):
With a good situation. But like they was said, if
you're the win anywhere else, you would have been out
of there.
Speaker 3 (21:56):
Boy.
Speaker 2 (21:56):
Yeah, I just that's my biggest point is that if
he went to a bad team, punk people, chruw, dumping
on people's chests, getting texts, eventually that would have worn out.
It's the fact that you've been a part of this
winning team with Steve Kurtin that they keep you on
and you know when you're winning covers up covers up,
absolute on. All right, appreciate it. One more to squeeze.
One more and we got bree coming up.
Speaker 1 (22:18):
And then uh, Peter and Honolulu, you're in the odd
couple of Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 2 (22:23):
What's up, Peter.
Speaker 7 (22:29):
We went through this the other day.
Speaker 9 (22:31):
Draymond actually costed the Warriors the title when he got
against the Cavaliers in game Fox. So but I would
say he's the luckiest ring wise, and Ben Simmons is
the luckiest minute.
Speaker 2 (22:43):
Oh yes, that is.
Speaker 9 (22:47):
Neither one of them got games.
Speaker 2 (22:48):
See, I don't agree with the Draymond doesn't have game.
I think he mastered what he does well. And that's
a great Like that's like saying Dennis Robin ain't got game. No,
Dennis Robin is one of the all time greats.
Speaker 1 (22:56):
And what did But what Austin said about this, like
them leaving him open and stuff, that's all.
Speaker 2 (23:02):
And I agree with that. And that's why I don't
understand why he was so hell better. I could have
been an offensive girl, like nobody you were granted what
you do like that? Ain't that good enough? Ain't nobody
got time for that? No doubt he hit the from the.
Speaker 7 (23:17):
Draymond couldn't hit And you would know.
Speaker 2 (23:19):
That out there in Honolulu. He said he couldn't even
throw it out there. Appreciate you, Peter, thank you. Yeah,
And dang's going down the rain And would you do
you stick around like that when the rain starts coming
down in the games, like for me, like in a
game like that, it's six to one, I'll probably be
on my way out. You're still sitting that, Rob, No,
I'll probably I'm gonna say you start saying this the
(23:41):
rain drops of that hard hitting me. I didn't know
what was coming back that far. The rain drops are crazy,
all right. If it is Bree, it is for weeks
getting you updated now, Hey, Brie, it's the spread.
Speaker 3 (23:52):
I can't you know what.
Speaker 2 (23:53):
I'm not sweet though, Alex keep playing.
Speaker 1 (23:57):
It's the spread.
Speaker 2 (23:58):
I don't work here. Boomerang, that's her new name. Boomerang, Brie,
what did you talk? You have myself on the back.
They can't have no words, all right. We had a
whole going away party with his love notes and gifts.
We did Angna Lie. She was back four days later.
Speaker 3 (24:16):
She literally gave everybody cards.
Speaker 2 (24:18):
She did. That's a good ball. I'm never gonna see
y'all gain in life except in the week. But I
met Tho. It was three weeks f yi, and there
was no party. There was three weeks and there was
no party. We're not letting your Samantis get away by
I get a party this time. No no party ever?
You out normal, rang, Brie? What you got for us?
Speaker 3 (24:36):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Odd Couple
with Rob Parker and kelvin Washington weekdays at seven pm
Eastern four pm Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and The
iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 2 (24:47):
All right, one O one ninety nine, A few minutes
left in this game was four minutes, four minutes left
and this game got a good one going on. Next
up to Over the seventy six Ers, Brie was mentioned
just looking at some points, O g Ananobi. By the way,
Jason Smith is in the other room. Now he got
to be excited because og Anobi has.
Speaker 1 (25:08):
And then I tell you Jason Smith is walking and
pacing because the stomach is in a tough game, because
he's like, we can't lose this game without himbid it's
too close for comfort. He's not Ted Knight. You know,
like this is not a good thing. They could lose it.
Speaker 2 (25:23):
They could. O g Ananobi has been their most consistent
player all playoffs. Would you be sick, just give me
your thumbs up, or would they lose yon? He was sicker?
You have to watch some blood gory like the movie saw,
Oh God, him taking a loss? Which one?
Speaker 1 (25:40):
It would be so bad he would throw up at
Alex's mouth. I'm just saying, oh, that would be amazing
to tie rock. That's pretty extreme. Actually, I try to
move past it. I'm not gonna lie throw that on breech,
you don't work here. I try to just move, she did,
ring back.
Speaker 2 (25:57):
What would be if we could tie you down, put
two picks on your eyelids and make you watch like
saw Ao. No, that would be amazing. I don't.
Speaker 1 (26:05):
I saw a little bit of it at my barber shop,
and I was like, oh my god, what is it?
Because you guys in the bathroom may have to cut
his leg off to get.
Speaker 2 (26:14):
Oh what is this? Come on? God's cutting off so gross?
So you really can't take it. It's hilarious that stuff.
I got a very vivid imagination. I told you I
hit my Halloween mask. I couldn't find it every Halloween
because I hit it so good. I was always afraid
I wake up and you had to put more hid
on that head because that sounded crazy. I'm sorry, said
(26:34):
I hid. Oh it sounded crazy.
Speaker 1 (26:37):
And I'm telling you, like, my nightmare was that I
was going to wake up and somebody was going to
be standing over me with that mask on.
Speaker 2 (26:46):
I'm not even kidding. Is this is what he was
like fifty eight?
Speaker 3 (26:49):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (26:49):
Now when he was eight, when he's fifty eight, I'm serious.
I was like, oh this, I can't have this but
I needed it for Halloween. I needed and I didn't
want to buy another one every year. But I was like,
oh god, you're gonna be scared and cheap. I'm scared
and cheap I am.
Speaker 2 (27:05):
You know, Alice is cooking it up.
Speaker 1 (27:06):
Alex Alice is not Alice's Alice got all the fish
from He.
Speaker 2 (27:10):
Ain't frying nutting fish on fry in the kitchen some stuff,
all right, real quick. We were talking about a little
bit earlier, the Lakers and and kind of what they're
right now. By the way, they've lost what is it,
five or six games now to Thunder average of twenty
(27:31):
seven points per game. The loss, I mean, you're not
even remotely in it.
Speaker 1 (27:35):
That's why Vegas is making my gosh.
Speaker 2 (27:40):
But Austin Reeves is the interesting conversation because I've always
felt this is Austin Reeves is your number three guy.
You might have something cooking. But the idea that Austin
Reeves like even this season, I know, he was the
quote unquote second best player. A lot of that was
because Lebron was like, I'm gonna let y'all cook. I'm
gona let you do what you do. But we all
knew comple time. Lebron is the one who can get
(28:01):
to a spots, get a shot, he can go down low.
He can obviously end up having twelve fifteen assists. He
looked very good in Game one, and that's your twenty
seven points, Lebron. And I'm just I just don't feel
like if Austin Reeves is your second best player, rob
As everybody wants to make it that you got a chance,
Austin Reeves cannot be your second best player. I'll tell
you a stat that is disturbing for a second best player.
(28:23):
Austin Reeves has never scored over twenty five points in
the postseason game. I mean, is that right? Con he
has not scored twenty five points? To that is that
you kind of have a night where that happens, Right,
You just had a night like I was on fire tonight.
We get guys who are less talent than him get
to have those nights, and so that concerns me as
(28:46):
my number two guy. Right, they're gonna be nice where
I need Jalen Williams to go crazy. I need obviously
he's not Pipping, but you know, Pipping to do his thing.
You need your Kobe and shot you need your number
The number two is supposed to do that for winning teams.
Thinking that, who, Well, we taught Kobe a number two
to shack for years. We called Kevin McHale like at
number two, like Joe Dumars, the guys who we call
(29:07):
number two. That's a high bar on championship teams, is
what I'm saying. So if he's gonna be a number two,
then there's a production in a postseason run that I
need to see. And as great as he's spectacular as
he was this regular season, when it comes postseason, ROBJ.
You're the Laker fan, don't we every year?
Speaker 1 (29:26):
Go?
Speaker 2 (29:27):
Man, I thought I was gonna get three years running
now right where we thought, all he's gonna get more
out of him, all, he's gonna get more out of him. Dang,
we needed more out of him. And I think it's
because teams can narrow in, they can focus more, they
can lock up on them, and they can a team
like the Thunder can throw a bunch of different guys
at him and he ends up, you know, struggling, it's
not And I just think that can't be your number
two guy. Number two has to be much more dependable
(29:48):
and That's why, to be honest, why some people have
issues with Jamal Murray. Right, he has a game or two,
but he doesn't show up at times, and you're like, man,
when I really needed him, he wasn't there. So are
you is gonna be your number two? No? I can't
do it.
Speaker 1 (30:03):
And the money that you're talking about, like, I'm sorry,
I can't, especially when the postseasons have not been good,
you know what I mean? Like that scares me a
lot because you know, there's a difference between regular season
basketball and postseason basketball. And I'm not saying the guy's
going to be terrible all the time or every situation,
(30:23):
but it's not a good look to say.
Speaker 2 (30:26):
And if I'm Luca, is that who your your partner's
gonna be? You know what I mean? You're convinced that
you pay him.
Speaker 1 (30:32):
Forty million dollars? Is anybody else coming? I don't know
that just it's a lot of money. I mean, I'll
go back to you, Rob g Is that your guy?
Like I got Luca, I got Reeves.
Speaker 2 (30:44):
Let's just hypothetic for hypothetical sake, Lebron were to leave,
like this is our guy. I got these long as
I got these two cornerstones where we're cooking with something.
Is that how you feel? You know what sucks?
Speaker 4 (30:52):
I thought he might have been, you know, earlier in
the season, the regular season, Reeves looked really, really good.
And then the problem is that we've seen now in
this playoff run, you know, okay, see in two games
against the Rockets last year against Minnesota. Yes, those teams
are not going anyway. Even Houston with all their issue
with Kevin Durant, the idea of the young athletics, defensive
(31:12):
minded wing, you're gonna see a lot of them in
the next several years in the Western Conference. I not
even talking about San Antonio on what they're doing over there.
And Austin Reeves, as good as he is, has a
real problem scoring against athletic aggressive defenders. The Western Conference
is littered with those kind of guys. And if you're
banking on him to be your in this scenario, Kyrie
(31:34):
Irving type, we are gonna be wildly disappointed.
Speaker 2 (31:37):
And Kyrie Irvin, to my point, what did he do
when they needed the most rownd three to one? Him
and Lebron both have forty one Remember that forty one
forty one they both My point is to say a
number two on a championship Think about that number two
guy on championship teams. It's either Jason Taylor or Jaylen Brown.
You know, however, you want to look at it in
that fine like. It's a high prow, high bar when
(31:58):
you're saying you're gonna be the number two a team
that can contain.
Speaker 1 (32:01):
It's just that it's it's the amount of money too like.
And it's not that you don't want him, well agree,
I agree, right, It's just it's it's the money part.
Rob Do you're a Laker fan. It's not that you
don't want Austin Reeves. You want Austin.
Speaker 2 (32:12):
Reeds forty million. Austin Reeves at twenty five million. I
didn't even go thirty two, but forty million.
Speaker 4 (32:19):
You're saying that we got to max him out basically,
so we got two guys making ninety million and that's
thirty five forty cent of the cap.
Speaker 2 (32:26):
It's like, well, I don't know if that was gonna
work out for us?
Speaker 1 (32:28):
Can can we say this about this? The Celtics lost
that game right with missing missing the last nine. I
just tell you, Philadelphia had the game that was it
was tied right, and no, they were.
Speaker 2 (32:40):
Down by two.
Speaker 1 (32:41):
They're now zero for six from the field, but five
to three pointers, Like, let's take the game.
Speaker 2 (32:47):
The game was that close. You didn't you didn't need
I just don't even get it.
Speaker 1 (32:50):
Go to the basket, get a foul, shoot some free throws,
keep the game. It doesn't even make sense. And to
the Knicks credit, they've been taking twos.
Speaker 2 (33:00):
They've been taking to the rack yep bridges hit a big,
huge one. They're only up by six. But but but
if you feel the franticness of the six.
Speaker 1 (33:10):
Fo I need to start shooting threes. But because you're
down by six with two and a half minutes to go.
Speaker 2 (33:15):
But but just that's still enough time. All that is
is two stops, you get a bucket, you're down four
or another Now you're down two with a minute and
a half. And there's plenty of times. But the fran
that's what I don't like, right, the frantic like they
start freaking out at three three. Dude, you got three
minut at the time, you got three plus minutes. Relax,
