mister Chris Brush? I am great? Now? You you had
time to sleep on it. You know, you took a
(01:07):
nice shower. I imagine maybe, And uh, are you ready
to come and apologize for what you said yesterday about
putting a wet blanket over Magic John? No at you.
You've had time to think about it, to look at
the responses to it. Uh no, no change, no change,
(01:28):
because I'm even more SoRs I slept on it. I
realized that Magic what he did was really bad, even
worse than I thought at first. What he did wasn't
as bad as what Genie Buss is doing to the team.
Magic knows better Genie, don't. She's the owner her dad
and we haven't even heard from three years. I know
that's worse than what Magic John did. You don't air
(01:50):
your dirty laundry. Don't do that. What are you doing? Hey?
He came out with his chest out like, Yo, I'm
putting the name on it, I said, not hiding behind
the well. That was him singing Beyonce song. So to
put a ring on it was put a name on it.
Is that what it was? Yeah? I guess, don't don't.
I better not laugh? All right, go ahead and do
(02:11):
your thing? All right? You love this part of the ship,
of course, because you know what, we wouldn't be able
to do this far radio program without I showed my
love to then. No, you don't give him, you don't
love him. The crew knows I love him. Iowa Sam
is my home name, knows I love him because I
was the Iowa Sam knows. You're the only black guy
I ever lived in all I told you that is
(02:31):
from Iowa. Roger Craig is from i Rob G. Just
Ricky Davis is from IA. Rob G be honest. If
there was a vote, who treats up crew better? Chris
Bus saw the Rob Parker? What would vote? Would be
a landslide, wouldn't it? It'd be Rob Parker? What is
up with me? Is it? Because you're both name Rob?
(02:51):
It's just you've been hanging on me all week? Robbed G?
All right, let's welcome into. Rob G is the most
honest guy I've met in this radio business. He knows
he's honest. He doesn't take sides. But you have to admit,
Rob G, I don't treat the crew badly. Nobody. I
don't brown knows like, oh look at that partner, but
I don't treat him. You light skin knows I'm brown
(03:14):
skin because I'm brown skin. That's a difference. All right,
Let's welcome in. Rob G our producer Iowa. Sam is
our engineering for Alex. Rolph Irvin is our sports anchor.
He'll keep us updated throughout the program. Jonah is our intern,
and of course Elijah is our social media guru, and
of course are as well another intern. So we are
(03:36):
in full effect. They're all on the other side of
the glass on this trash talking Tuesday's right, your chance
to trash anyone anything in the world of sports, and
the final hour of the program. So get your takes ready.
It's been getting better and better every week. People with
strong takes, So get yourself ready. Ould be in the
third hour of the show. They're on the other side
(03:58):
of the glass, Chris Bussart, Let's kicks him out, all right,
Rob Parker, when I pledged my fraternity in college, cap
alpha side, shout out to all the knops. Okay, we
we used to sing this. I gotta feeling nailing brothers,
and I got a feeling Rob Parker, that you don't
(04:20):
understand that we're watching history right now. I think you're premature. No,
I'm not premature. Are Last night, the Golden State Warriors
became the first team since Bill Russell's Boston Celtics since
(04:40):
nineteen sixty six. Fifty how many years? Fifty four? Yeah?
How many years? Is that? Somebody do some quick math?
Fifty three years year to eighteen in fifty three years
to make it to five straight NBA finals, which we
(05:02):
all knew, which we all knew going into the season
because I picked them. That doesn't diminish it. That's how
good they are. You just knew how good the Golden States.
I know how bad the NBA is. So you you
mean you're gonna take away from the warriors accomplishment of
making five straight finals. You're gonna didn't minish that. Showtime
Lakers didn't do it. The Jordan Bulls didn't do it
(05:23):
because it was competition. Back then it was j and
Moses Malone didn't It was competition, Malijuan Tim Duncan share
was competition. Don't you understand that's what makes sports great?
Chris Boussard not not bit watching the Harlem Globetrotters beat
the Washington Nationals every game. No, you already mentioned that
(05:45):
what was the coach of name Hood's record was two
and fourteen thousand? What is that guy to do? Because
that's where that's where we go when when we talk
about this current NBA, you want to go and beat
your chest and tell us how great the Golden State Warriors.
They're nine craid the NBA stinks. You smell like Chris
muss and and let me I have it. Let me
(06:11):
make a correction from a few minutes ago. You didn't shower.
I smell it. You didn't shower. What are you talking about?
The NBA state little boys. Let me let me name
a few people for you who aren't on the Golden
State Warners, Yannis, I did the compost by Leonard, Joe
al Mbi, Ben Simmons, Jimmy Butler, Kyrie Irvy and all
(06:35):
that crew in Boston, Lebron James and a bunch of
number two picks c J. McCollum and Damian Lillard, Nicola Yoki,
James Harden and Chris Paul two Hall of famers, Russell
Westbrook and Paul George probably two Hall of famers, certainly
one the only person ever to averager triple double three
straight times. What are you talking about? That's competition up
(06:57):
and down the line. And let me tell you here's
Chris Boussard. This is where these NBA slappies like Chris
Boussard all like, oh fourning over the Warriors. Oh my god,
they haven't done this since nineteen sixty six. The lack
of fact. Yeah, but it's in your voice because I'm
that's you. I'm gonna tell you this. When you talk
(07:18):
about that, you know when the Celtics were the last
team to make it to five straight finals. Do you
know how many teams were in the NBA back then?
It wasn't thirty. You know how many it was. It
was ten. That ain't yes, thank you Lebron. It was
ten teams. So so that got to do it. It's
so much easier if you had a great team. Back then,
(07:38):
there weren't free agency. People weren't moving, so it was
easy for a team to do it. It tells you
with thirty teams, there's no way in the world you
should be going to the finals five years in a row.
It tells you lack you know, I'm not It tells
you a great No. I tells you about the lack
of competition. Don't compare this to the Celtics of the
sixties back then. Let me give you what the Eastern
(07:59):
Conference was Philadelphia seventy six ers? Was it Celtics, the Kings,
the Knicks and the Wizards the sixties? This is the sixties.
That's your best argue. That's all that there were sixty
ready for the Western Conference. Know what the Western Conference
was back in nineteen sixty six? Warriors, Hawks, Lakers, pulls
and Pistons. That was his West. So then I'm trying
(08:21):
to tell you what they've accomplished here and this watered down.
It's just like Lebron James went to seventh straighter eight. No,
it wasn't the same straight finals from the East. Yeah,
all right, so fourth eighth strade and the water down East.
That's why nobody came to the West. Couldn't even make
the playoffs. That's why nobody respects it because there's no
(08:43):
competitions back. They don't respect it because there's no competition
in the East. Finally, when Lebron left, all of a sudden,
you got better teams and better players. Telling these dudes,
dare Price, Steph Curry was a number seven pick, Clay
Thompson a number twelve pick, a Mind Green a second
round pick. These aren't it's not five Blue Chippers playing together.
(09:07):
These are guys who worked hard, who nobody thought a
lot of people didn't think we're gonna be great. Then
they got Kevin Durant. Yeah, KD going there made them
absolutely unbeatable. But that's on KD. And you you love
KD and I like k D. I'm not gonna kill
him for what he did. But this is this team
is a great team for you. This I'm not I'm not.
(09:31):
I'm telling you. I'm telling you them getting to the
finals five years in a row. It's an indictment about
how bad the NBA as a whole is because it
shouldn't happen no other sport do you do you have
a dominance like this in a sport with thirty teams.
You can't take a look at back in nineteen sixty year.
They just had this goal years ago and Michael Jordan,
(09:52):
what was that? No it was straight finals in eight years. No,
it was way full seasons. But I don't dominate. But
I wasn't positive it was gonna happen I'm talking about
but I was. I believed in mine. I'm telling it
was right. It's about on the back of competition in
this league that's happened, and everybody can cover their eyes
(10:12):
and act like, oh my god, it's unbelievable what we're wasting.
The go day Warrior, stop it, Chris. This league is weak.
Everybody knew it was gonna be in the finals before
the season even started, and no competition, and then you're
looking at it and then being from the East Toronto.
That's what I picked. And then they're not gonna make
the finals. I'm just telling you that. You just say
(10:33):
everybody knows who was everybody we believe that it was
Lebron James every single year, everybody knew. All I'm telling
you that three at a times, Gone State or what
that ain't compelling. Three at the times Gone State made it.
They didn't have Kevin during That ain't compelling. Dude, this
is a great team. Give them their pride. I'm just
(10:54):
telling you it ain't the greatest thing we've ever seen.
That's all I'm telling you. I didn't say it was
the greatest thing we've ever seen. Who they played? The
Poland Trail players? Did David show up for the series?
How would embarrassing round? What about the Houston Rockets? What
about James Harten? You said he's the best player in
the world right now? What do I know you're right now?
(11:14):
Means for the next thirty minutes? But you said he was.
Did you not say he's the best team player in
the world, Chris, you said, okay, he would get to
the Western Conference? Father, Did you want to nip pick
about picks? What didn't you pick them? I picked and
the Beat didn't know. You don't you pick Denver to
get to the Conference? Fine? Did you? Did you pick
Brooklyn to be Philadelphia? Did you pick Okay, she to
(11:35):
get to the Western Okay, I just want to make sure.
And you had the Lakers winning fifty three games and
going to the West. You had the Lakers making the playoffs,
just trying to bad. I can't believe he's sit here
and try to diminish what the Golden State Warriors have done.
Give him their press. This is a great era of
NBA basketball. This is one of the leaguest girls. The
(11:58):
league is growing in league where we're taking players from
all over the world, not just from America. You got
players from all over the world. And in fact, let's
look at the NBA history and up intil the sixties
through the sixties, there was a quote on unwritten quote
on how many blacks you can have on the team.
So the league wasn't that great because you didn't have
(12:20):
the best players in the league. In the seventies, you
had all types of problems, so it was on tape delay.
And in the eighties, nineties and so on, you weren't
getting players from all over the world. Now you're getting
players from the entire globe Africa, Asia, Australia, Europe, wherever,
South America. These are the best players in the world.
(12:40):
You got just as many Hall of Famers as you
had during Jordan's day. And you got a seven number seven,
pick number twelve pick, a second round draft pick. Dominating
because they work hard and they have the perfect system
for their talent. Give them their properly. Makes great dramas
when you don't know who's gonna win before the seasons arts.
We could play the whole routine and oh, you know
(13:03):
out West, you told me about all the storylines. Look
at the Western Conference. Oh they're gonna make a run. No,
we knew Golden State was gonna win. We all did,
did you, ain't nobody Kevin Durant, Yes, yes, because I
knew because I think thought they be Houston. How sorry
they think they go? And I thought that they would
be Poland why would they they could be Houston? Why
wouldn't they be pulling a champions No, they're not. No
(13:26):
matter who comes out of the East, State will not.
And I'll bet you we got wings on that. Let's
let's make a twenty piece a twenty piece on the
diet coke. We already got a twenty piece on it,
all right, twenty piece. I can't believe you trying to
hate hate hate, hate, hate, hate. We need Martin Wison
here to play the hate, hate, hate, hate hate. All right,
(13:46):
you're turned away in eight seven seven ninety nine on
Fox eight seven seven nine nine six sixty three sixty nine.
Are the Warriors benefiting from a water down NBA? Or
are they just that good? We'll continue the conversation with
you next. It's the Eye Couple of Fox Sports Radio.
Be sure to catch live editions of The Odd Couple
(14:08):
with Chris Brussar and Rob Parker weekdays at seven pm
Eastern four pm Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the
iHeart Radio app. At Farmers Insurance, we know every windshield
collision has a unique sound. Beetle bird, Booper, drone, seen
it covered it, Doctor Farmers. We are farmers underwritten my
(14:30):
Farmers truck Fire Insurance Exchanges and affiliates products unailable in
every state. Look at look at Iowa. Sam he bringing
the disco. All right? All right, it's the Eye Couple
of Chris Brussar and Rob park And we got some
great news for you. There's a quicken and easy way
you could save money. Switch to geicoe. It only takes
fifteen minutes to see if you could save fifteen percent
(14:52):
or more on your car insurance. Go to Geico dot
com and see how much you can save. All right,
you're turned away in eight seven, having ninety nine on Fox.
What do you think are the Warriors really something historically
great or is it just a watered down NBA. Let's
start with Jared in Australia. We love when we get
the cars from down especially down Under? All right, Jared,
(15:15):
what's happening? Oh not much? Enjoy? I enjoy. That's so
great listening to you too, But debate, it's that's why
I listened to you every day. Thank you, thank you.
Um you're both right, Rob, You're right, not in the
sense that the league's watered down. It's just the fact
that the Golden stated that much better than everyone else,
that a Mason League look watered down. Um, so, so
(15:36):
you're kind of correct there. Chris is also correct. I
think that the Warriors are that great. Um not. People
might not recognize it right now. It's just because I
think there's sort of still a bit salty that the
fact that Kevin Durrant joined the seventy three Wars team. Okay,
but I think the in ten, fifteen, twenty years, you'll
look back and just realize that how great. It's probably
the greatest team ever, and then no one will probably
(15:57):
repeat that. But I don't think, yeah, I think that
makes some sense. I mean, look, when Durant, there's no
doubt when Durant went to the Warriors, that definitely tipped
the scales. I mean they were probably the best team
in the league when he went to him. And then
you add they weren't probably they were what they had
lost the final, right, but they're still that one. They
(16:20):
were right, they were trade minds not suspended that they
probably would have won, but that didn't happen. Let's go
to Sherman in Florida. You're on the odd couple of
Fox Sports Radio. What you got Sherman? Hey, how you doing? Guys?
I want to say to you right too, ain't a way, um,
but I don't think if Kevin Daran is not there,
(16:40):
they wouldn't go all away like that. It'd be a
good team. You gotta respect the guys giving it up
playing together. But if he off and leaves, they won't
they would not be the next year. Well, how are
they doing it this year without him? Well, they didn't
want a championship, Yes, but he said they want to
get you saying they won't even get that. I said
(17:00):
that they would get to Okay, all right, Sherman, thanks
for the call. Aaron and Tampa. You're on with Chris
and rob Thanks. Chris, I think you got your name
wrong because you must be Christopher Robin because you gotta
work with or every day hating on that. Come no, hey,
(17:23):
it ain't time for trash talking. What are you doing? Hey,
I'm just speaking the truth. No, it's not a water
down NBA. We have to look at it through the
lens of them. You're looking through the old man's lands, looking, Oh,
these guys are great, Like come on, we're gonna look
back at it twenty years later. Okay, Russ great great talent.
(17:45):
James Harden, great talent, all time, great talent. We're just
looking at it right now as far as this era.
Right now, the Warriors are the best that we've seen
in this era. And it's hard to classify rors, but
we gotta give them their props, right now, and that's
what they are, all right, Aaron pre shape the call. Hey,
Rob g we can't see the bottom of the screen.
Who is that Damien in California? You're on the odd couple?
(18:07):
Fox Sports Radio. What's up Damien? Hey, what's up the show?
Thank you? I do got the issue with saying that
the league is watered down, because I do believe that
as Tom goes on, we got bigger, stronger, faster athletes.
He seen shooting like you've never believed. But I do
believe believe that the rules are you know, and he's
(18:30):
very different from back to its Damon, you can't even
touch anybody defensively. Yeah, but everybody's playing the players. Look,
today's players are more athletic than ever. They shoot the
basketball better than ever, and they handle the ball better
than ever. Damien, thanks for the call. What about Tom
(18:50):
and l Passo? You're on the odd couple? Fox Sports Radio?
What's up Tom? Hey? How you doing? Um? I think
you guys are both right in a way. But here
this is the thing. Rob. Earlier you said that whoever
comes out of the East is gonna beat the Warriors,
and I think for sure that the Bucks will beat
(19:11):
the Warriors because Lebron gave everybody the blueprint four years ago.
You get a dominant post, you get shooters all around,
and you beat the Warriors because they can't match up.
It's just that plain and simple. And if Joannis comes
out of the East, he's got the dominant post and
you got all the shooters. And the other thing is
(19:33):
Curry and Clay and Draymond all said years ago that
they wanted to They want it to be easier. They
didn't want to have to play as hard. That's why
they got Durant. Sure they can play well and they
win a lot of games, but Curry gets beat up,
gets worn down, and without Durant, ultimately the whole team
(19:55):
suffers because they have to play so hard. They have
to run around five miles in the game, running off
picks and getting shot direct makes it easier. He does
make it easier. Called let's see, what are you gonna
say when they if they beat Milwaukee or win the championship.
I don't think they're gonna beat me. If they do
(20:16):
your theory, then if if if they lose the Milwaukee,
then the only thing is Milwaukee. If they beat Milwaukee,
what happens to your theory. Milwaukee just wasn't season. Props.
Thanks for the call, appreciate it. Peter and Wisconsin you're
(20:38):
the odd couple. Fox Sports Radio. What's up Peter? Hey guys,
great show. Thank you. I was just calling into kind
of side with Chris on this. Um. You know, you
have dynasties that I've been great for every sport. Um, Chris,
you mentioned the Bulls, you had the Yankees when they
were going to the World Series back to back, and
(20:58):
most relevantly, you have the Patriots as of right now.
You know, they're the most watched football team probably in
America or in the world. The Golden State Warriors are
great for the sport. Now, I'm a Bucks fan. Go Bucks.
But you know, if if the Warriors and the Bucks
(21:19):
meeting the finals, and the Bucks lose to the Warriors,
you know they're It's not because the Bucks are a
bad team, It's because the Warriors are just mad. But
if it's the other way around, you're sitting here telling
me the league is so watered down. Oh yeah, but
(21:40):
yet Golden State's not gonna win the finals. How can
you have both because they don't have because they don't
have the guy going into the season that I thought
they would have and KD. Then don't tell me to lead.
You're saying they have this huge They just they just
made it to the finals five years and five straight
playoff games with out him. That ain't, did, Chris? That ain't.
(22:02):
What is that to hang your hat on against a
team that wasn't even expected to go to Western Conference
finals that they went to the Western Final. Check the sheet,
the bed, Check the sheets. They got beat down. That's
what happened. They what they what the bed? A matter
of fact, if you look close, it might be a
little something brown in there too. That's how bad. I
don't know what your sheets looked like. But she's noise.
(22:23):
I been talking about sheets like that with me. You
didn't shower today, Now you shower? Funky right, all right?
The Damian Lillard slander has got to stop. That's when
NBA champion Antonio Daniels says, that's next. But first let's
get to Ralph Irwin for the latest in sports. Ralph,
what's happening? It's five letters? It's Irvin. Come on, Ben,
(22:46):
we gotta right. What did I say? Erwin? You just
you you misheard me? To quote Roger Clemens. You misheard me.
Vot you mimember? Yeah? Okay? Rob g put Irwin on
the screen. Unbelievable. Robe the NBA's Eastern Conference Final Johnson
(23:06):
or Michael Irvin? Yes he looks just like of course,
haven't you seen me? Yes? Okay. Tonight the NBA's Eastern
Conference Finals continue with Game four, Toronto hosting Milwaukee. The
Bucks lead the series two games to one. Tip off
that will be at eight thirty Eastern time. Online car
shopping and be confusing, not gonna be more with true
(23:27):
price from Truecar and I can know the exact price
you'll pay for your next cars. I as a true
Car to enjoy a more confident car buying experience. Portland
Trailblazers season maybe over, but they are agreeing to a
multi year deal to extend the contract of head coach
Terry Stotts. Of course, he got him to the Western
Conference Finals. Damian Lillard, Well, he is expected to get
a super max deal this summer, four years, over one
(23:50):
hundred and ninety million dollars on the diamonds. Right now,
Mark Canna to run home run. That's the difference. Right now.
It's Oakland leads at Cleveland three two. They're in the
fourth inning. Gary's Sanchez a three run homer for the Yankees.
They're up three nothing at Baltimore. In the second. Miami
is sacrifice fly. In the first. They lead to Detroit
one at nothing. And how about Washington, Wanton Soto goes yard.
(24:12):
They lead the Mets one nothing again. That game is
in the second inning. Now we'll be back to Chris
and Robin ten seconds. But first a word from Farmers
that Farmers insurance. We know a roof can withstand a
live one exception being an airborne car. I've seen it,
covered it, doctor Farmers. We are Farmers underwritten my Farmers
(24:33):
Truck Fire Insurance Exchange then affiliates products unavailable in every state.
We're about an hour away from tip off between Toronto
and Milwaukee's let's talk some NBA with of course, Chris Broussard,
Rob Parker and Antonio Daniels. You thank you, Ralph Irvin.
I got it right this time. All right, it is
the I couple were coming you live from the Guico
Foxpor's radio studios. It is easy to say fifteen percent
(24:57):
or more on your car insurers with Geico. Go to
Ico dot com or call eight hundred nine four seven auto.
The only hard part is figuring out which way is easier.
We bring him in every week and he lays down
the law. He's our man, NBA Champion, Fox Sports NBA
analysts Antonio Daniels, what's happening to mess up? Bud? Christmas
(25:18):
are Rob Parker? How you're doing? Man? We are great, man,
We are great, and you are you are bothered by
the Oregonian newspaper. I guess it ripped Damian Lillard at
CJ McCollum. Huh yeah, like the prom You know, this
is a team that that you know that that was
eliminated first round last year. They were swept last year
(25:40):
by the Pelicans, right right, by the Pelicans actually the
last two years, because then they were swept by Golden
State Yere before that, right, and then this year they
beat Oklahoma City first round at one of the most
memorable clinchers in NBA history, and then they beat Denver
next round and then they lose to the best team
(26:02):
of this generation. Right now, you know, let me let me,
let me read the let me read the headline so
people know what you're talking about. In the Oregonian, which
is Portland's hometown newspaper. It says splash Brothers, question Mark
Damian Lillard, CJ McCollum, look like the trash Brothers against Warriors.
You know what, that's a great newspaper headline, though, that
(26:25):
is a good one. There's a play on splash brothers.
But I get what you're saying. Okay, yeah, So to
then what happens is now when Damian Lillard c J.
McCollum start to feel a certain way about this newspaper,
because the thing is it what they tried to say
is well, these aren't our words. That's what they said
the Oregonian, And here's my thing, it's not your words,
but you still have first right of the fusal as
(26:46):
far as what you choose to print about your team
and about your starts. And to me, what this team
has accomplished this year is borderline amazing. What they've become,
especially after Nuggets going down. They deserve much more respect
than what they're getting from their own newspaper. So you
do agree that it's been a good season for Portland,
but this was a really good season. This is this
(27:06):
is like I was gonna say that KD. Right the
Oklahoma under unreliable. Yeah, mister unreliable, and he actually wound
up moaning so much that they gave him a retraction
of a headline, which I've never seen. I mean, yeah, man,
here's who you're Antonio. You're right that if c J
and Lillard get angry and say say they decide we're
(27:29):
not talking to the Oregonian anymore, that's their right. But
on the other hand, the newspaper doesn't work for the
place exactly, so they understand that you're rocking that look,
that could be repercussions. But the newspaper can say what
they want exactly. We can't. You can't be afraid of
criticizing somebody because they might not talk to us, because
if that was AA. It's not about being afraid to
(27:51):
criticize somebody. But here's my thing. You have to understand.
It's like players understand for every action there's a consequence.
So then we start to turn off towards certain media members,
and then people start to look at the players like,
oh man, look at this guy. Just sensitive and so
on and so forth. We do we take that out
of our own lives. If you put that in your
own life and somebody is talking about you and the
(28:13):
way you perform, how bad you are, so on and
so forth, and then they come up and try and
hug you. You're not going to be that Like, I agree,
I get it. I mean that's why I don't get
mad if players get mad at me or clap back
at me, so to speak, because if somebody was ripping
me and then came up and you know it was
(28:35):
trying to be cool, I get that. I speaking of Lillard, uh,
he would you give him the super Max one? Is
one hundred nineties getting the four years one? Are you
good with that? I think you have to because if
you put him up there, you put him up there
within the same class as as Steph Curry and James
Harden and Russell Westbrook and all these other guys. You know,
(28:58):
his first team last year, he was first team Old League.
How can you not get him the Supermax? There's a question,
I ask, Yeah, I had him second team this year, right, Yeah,
don't know. He's one of the best. Get right, He's
one of the best guards in the league, one of
the best in elite point guards in this league. The
question is, how can you justify not giving him the
Supermax when if you're Damian Lillard. You're sitting on the
(29:21):
side and you're watching. Ever guys get the supermy Chris
Paul got forty millions. He got forty million, one hundred
and sixty over four years. If you kid too, if
he gets that, there's no way that you can possibly
justify Damian Lillard being the aide that he's at not
getting the Superman. Well, Antonio, it really is about philosophy.
And because I look, I don't think these Blazers. If
(29:43):
I had to bet, I would bet they don't win
a championship with Damian Lillard. However, to me, that doesn't
mean you don't pay him. This guy's probably on course
to be a Hall of Famer. He's one of the
best guards in the league. He'll be a local legend
and the you know, some people would say, oh, we
we're probably not gonna win the title, so let's just
tear it down and go young. That doesn't work. That
(30:06):
rarely works. We can talk about the Sacramento Kings, the
Phoenix Suns, Detroit Orlando, we can go on and on
with these teams that have gone to the bottom and
tried to rebuild it with draft picks and that's just
buying time you had. If you tear it down, guess
what you're looking for the next Damian Lillard. Yeah. But
(30:26):
but but the flip side to that, and I'll have
you respond is like I thought Sacramento did the right
thing when they decided that they weren't gonna get Boogie
Cousins to one hundred and four millions. And Boogie's different,
but I'm but I'm just saying, I know they're not
the same player, but they made up the decision that
even though he's a great player and it's gonna hurt them,
(30:47):
that they just didn't think that that was the guy
that you give that kind of money too. If we're
having problems with them already, what we're gonna do once
we sign them? Right? And I think Bookie Cuts is
a different case of sereal though. I think what we're
talking about with Damian Lullard, because Damian Lullard, like I
believe Chris was just alluding to, is completely different. They're
both great players. But what you're getting in Damian Lillard
(31:09):
off the floor and even on the floor, as far
as his personality, his character, his integrity, all the things
that he carries along with him that maybe at one
time you questioned about Bookie Cousins, you don't have those
same questions about Damian Leullard. That's fair, and Boogie never
led him to the playoffs either, so that that was
the thing too. It's the eye couple. We're joined by
(31:31):
NBA champion antonio' Daniels Antonia. What do you think about
I want to ask you a two part question. One,
the achievement of these Warriors to reach five straight finals,
first team in fifty three years since Bill Russell's Celtics
to do it. So obviously Duncan, Magic, Jordan Burden, none
of them. Did it tell me about that accomplishment, how
(31:52):
great it is or is the league watered down? And two,
that's my argument, how far can these guys go without
without KD if indeed he doesn't come back? Okay, the
first part I think is I think what they've accomplished
is is incredible. I think what they've accomplished is incredible
because they've done it different ways. They've done it different ways,
(32:15):
and what I think gets kind of lost in the
way Golden State has accomplished what they've accomplished is we
can look at their ability to score we can look
at them having three of the best shooters of all time,
possibly the best three shooters of all time on the
same team. And even prior to what I think gets
lost in Golden State is how good they are and
(32:37):
how discipline they are defensively. Defensively, this is a very
good defensive basketball team with Kevin Durant. Without Kevin Durant,
you have Draymond Greene, who has the versatility to guard
one through five, and he gives them the opportunity to
play to their identity. I understand they can score. I
(32:57):
understand that they can shoot, and they hit amazing shot.
I am not taking that from them, But I think
over this last five years, what has really got lost
at how good and discipline this team is on the
defensive side of the ball. Let me let me say
this to you here, and here's my argument about the
five years in a row. And this is the only
I'm not saying they're not a great team, and they
(33:18):
put in the work and everything's worked out. But when
you compare them to the Celtics of the sixties, I'll
ask you how many teams were in the NBA back
in nineteen sixty six when the Celtics did it for
a fifth year in a row. Do you know? No,
But I do know it was only what two rounds
and there and there were ten teams, right, So what
(33:40):
you're saying, Rob, is this is more impressive. No. What
I'm telling to you is it was back then it
made sense that if you had a good team, there
was no free agency. If you had a good team,
they stayed together for years the Celtics, right, And there
were only a handful of teams you had to beat
in order to get there in a thirty team league.
There's no reason. It tells you about the rest of
(34:00):
the league is watered down, whether people want to acknowledge
it doesn't mean that they're not great. But the competition
for when Lebron made it the eighth straight finals, and
and uh and and the Warriors making it the five
straight championships and we knew this, Antonio. Didn't you know
they're gonna make the finals this year? You knew this? Yeah? Yeah,
I mean, but look at because look at the talent
(34:20):
that they have. But but let me let me respond
to what you just said really quick, Rob, Like the
league now more skilled than it's ever been. Yes, yes,
but it's also more watered down, and it's ever been.
What do you mean by watered down? Like players are
better now? Not all the players are not better, Nor
(34:42):
are you what I'm saying. I'm not saying all players.
I'm not saying all players. I'm speaking in general. I'm
speaking in general of the skill level of players today
as opposed to see Here's here's the issue. I the
reason I don't like comparing this two teams of the
sixties and s seventies. It's because of this. Guys in
(35:03):
the sixties and seventies can say what they want to
about today's NBA, but if someone from today's NBA said
something about guys in the sixties or seventies, they're disrespecting
the game. And I will not do that. There's no
way I could disrespect Bill Russell and those guys that
have basically paid the way for me an opportunity to
play in the NBA for thirteen years. So I'm not
(35:24):
comfortable kind of comparing the sixties and seventies to today.
But I will tell you this, a team or a
league with ten teams, a league with ten teams, you
can't compare that to a league of thirty teams where
guys are bigger, stronger, faster, more athletic and more agile,
and from all over the world. All right, that's our man,
(35:46):
Antonio Daniel's great stuff. Man, we appreciate it. My socks
are what from the waterdown League. But that's all right.
I'll survive. Just ignore him. Thank you, thanks Bud. All
right man, thank you. Magic Johnson. Jess lied right to
your face. What he's saying we will explain next. It's
(36:06):
The Eye Couple of Fox Sports Radio. Be sure to

At Farmers Insurance, we know the sound of a perfect

Talk to farmers. We are underwritten my Farmers truck Fire
(36:30):
Insurance exchanges and affiliates products unavailable every state. All right,
you tuned into The Eye Couple Chris Brusar and Rob Parker,
and we went at him yesterday about Magic Johnson. We
both admitted he was wrong for Jess airing out Rob
Pelinka the Lakers gym. I mean, I actually had no
(36:51):
problem with what Magic said where I thought he was
just wrong and that he hurt the team he's claiming
to recruit on behalf of the Lakers and that he
still loves. But I'm fine with him going out there
and you know, putting his name on the comments he
wanted to make. So I thought that was fine. But anyway,
(37:11):
Magic was caught in a lie. What not? Magic, stop's
gonna let you hear it. Here's what he said yesterday
on first take to stephen A. Smith and the crew
when we set out and negotiate it. I told her,
I said, listen, I can't give up all my businesses.
I make more money doing that than becoming the president
(37:32):
of the Laker. So you know that I'm gonna be
in and out. Is that okay with you? She said, yes,
all right. Here's what he's said when he was hired.
What was it too, basically two years ago. Here's what
Magic said. If it was probably any other situation, I
probably wouldn't have, you know, left my business aside, left
(37:52):
my business to concentrate fully one hundred and fifty percent
on Laker business. But because of her leadership and I
know she wants to win so bad that I decided, Hey,
I want to work side by side with her. Her
is Jeanie Buss, by the way, In both quotes, well,
I mean, there's really nothing to say. There's no way
(38:15):
you can't possibly defend Magic Johnson in this situation. I mean,
the whole crux of the problem that Rob Pelinkin maybe
others in the Lakers organization had with Magic was that
he wasn't showing up. Magic said on first take, they
knew I wasn't gonna show up. I got all these
(38:36):
other businesses. I told him that. And but you go
back in time when he was hired, he said, I'm
walking away from other businesses, not to give a hundred percent,
but to give one hundred and ten percent, but a
hundred and fifty percent. I'm sorry, I can't defend Magic
Johnson couldn't defend himself against those two quotes. And you
(38:57):
know what, that would have been interested had they had
that played that for him, that would have been a
gotcha moment, and I would have been interesting to see
how he would have responded to that and said, well,
what did this mean when you got hired? And the
other one is I get it, Magic, we know you
have other businesses, but it sounds kind of lame, saying
(39:19):
like after they bust you out, you that you're not
showing up and not coming to work, you go, they
knew I wasn't gonna be here, you know what I'm saying,
weren't there? Right, You're you're You're basically admitting that you
didn't give your role, and that's that's the part. I
think that's disappointing for some Laker fans because they just
felt like Magic was going to try to get them
(39:42):
to win, and whether it was three years or four years,
because Lebron signed a four year contract, they really believed
that he was going his heart was in it as well.
The Lakers have never and I never been this six
years with I'm making the playoffs. It's never happened. Like
that's more than they ever had in the preceding fifty
(40:02):
years or whatever it was, which is incredib for these
six Yeah, so it's been bad. So what we got though,
is you you know, they cut the um when they
when Magic had his quote on stephen A's on first take, Yeah,
they cut it so you didn't hear the very end
of what he said that can you play can you
play Magics? From first take and then play the whole
(40:26):
clip so we can hear it. You got that looks pinocchio.
So I thought we're gonna have both of them, so
that all right. I was trying to I was trying
to put them together. Tried, tried. You get an A
for effort, You get an A for ever. What did
you think of Lebron James being at the press conference yesterday?
(40:49):
Look bad, looking different, bad look because Yeah, because he
didn't say anything. I think I think he's the healer
for this organization. He's the guy who should be like
I know everybody thinks that this thing is ruined and
we can't get it together. We're gonna get this together.
I'm here to win. Vogel is a great coach who
can help us get there. We're gonna get this thing
(41:10):
in the summer. We're gonna do this. To say something, well,
he hadn't said anything. That would have been better. However,
I think him being there was better than not being
there at all. Not being there would be terrible. Green, Well,
I don't think you would have got killed. I'm not
just expecting to be an endorsement. Yeah, it seemed like
it showed support. I couple keep it locked. Fox Sports

S one. All right, we started off the show talking
about the Warriors and their historic achievement becoming the first
team since the Bill Russell Celtics in nineteen sixty six
(42:14):
to reach five straight NBA Finals. What an accomplishment. We'll
get back to them in the next hour, but first
we want to uh Jaadne. They are good friend and
former colleague over at the old network. Now a professor
Northwest northweston he's and actually you know Chris and his
alma mater. He also was the one who started teaching
(42:37):
that USC did open the door for me to teach
the Really yeah, okay, a USC, So he's made a
real big impact both in journalism and now teaching journalists. Anyway,
he put up a pole on Twitter. Then we thought
it was really interesting in a great idea. It says,
who is the MVP of the playoffs so far? Are?
(43:00):
Here's the results right now? Uh, Steph Curry forty percent
of the moment, Kawhi Leonard twenty four, prison of the moment,
Raymond Green nineteen percent, and Yannis seventeen percent. So I'm
gonna let you go ahead and give your answer, and
then I'm gonna give the right answer. You ain't gonna
give no right answer. Where the hell is Kawhi Leonard?
(43:24):
You just I just named Kawhi You said prisoner At
the moment, I thought he was second twenty four, twenty four?
How is he twenty four? And and that was forties two?
Terrible to start the playoffs? Go look at his numbers.
And now he's got some pushovers. He put up some
he turned into step Patford pushovers. Push over in Portland,
(43:44):
that's right? What was what was? That's what it was? Boston?
What was Philly? Philadelphia? All he's doing now is putting up,
putting up, just just packing on numbers against a bad tack,
you know, and nothing. People are like, oh Steph Curry
the greatest thing ever, Oh my god, there is won
three and five games in the road death carry without
(44:06):
k D. That's what it's all about. Stopping your whiny voices.
It's horrible, but I mean, look at what Kauhi has done.
He's been a start for them. They're gonna be there,
little thing. They're down to the water and they can
tie the series tonight. Chris, you are so premature, I
hope not premature everything in life, because you're always it's
(44:30):
two don down, How two to one? How can you
be the MVP of the playoffs? But then you look
down to one they plan to go out. You're on
the being eliminating. They're not on the verge because they're
playing a second game hard. Theies hasn't ship until somebody
wins a road game. They're gonna win tie the series.
That go ahead, go ahead with just be I'm sorry
(44:52):
for you. See that shot. You came in here, Chris
with your chest puffed out, all that down in the
very time, and they here you're image your ball that
you might eat again. You haven't walking up, shot, do
you remember that it was the shot I know, but
now you're acting like it didn't have I think beat
some Also, rans Portland wasn't even they didn't even show
(45:15):
up for the series they did, Damian Lily, where the
hell were you? They didn't even show up. I'm sorry,
I know everybody caught up on the step a step
Bania and all that. All. See, Steffi's back, just like
Tiger was back until he missed to cut this past weekend.
Just wait and see. And I'm gonna tell you to
(45:36):
stop listen to me. Kawhi and these playoffs, just be quiet.
Thirty two points a game, eight point five rebounds, three
point five assists, one point three steals. Now go ahead,
go ahead, back with that, sorry over thirty two points
a game, eight point five rebounds, three point five assists,
one point three steals, on fifty two percent shooting from
(45:59):
the field and thirty nine in thirty nine percent from three.
All right, here's steph twenty seven, six point three rebound,
five point six assists, forty five percent shooting and thirty
nine from three. Kawhite beats him across the board. Somebody
still just look at box scores? I do I look
(46:21):
at the game. The MVP of the Playoffs thus far
is Steph Curry. No, it's not period the end. It's
Steph Curry. Demoledge Steph Curry. Mister duncan important dunk at
the end of a game. Do you remember that? But
he would too busy playing hold I'm instead I'm making
them lay up. He's five for nothing. What are you
(46:42):
doing dunking in an important moment of a game like that?
That was embarrassing. I'm not about the first round of
the playoffs. I don't care. He's still miss Andrewadolla was
the Finals MVP and he didn't even start half of
the series in twenty fifteen NBA Finals. All right, So
(47:02):
it's about what do you do for me now? Step
and in the Western Conference Final, I'll let you go
on with your little spiel and you're whining and all that.
Listen to this. In the Western Conference Finals, not in
the first round, not in the second round without Kevin Durant.
(47:23):
You know how many guys would have folded if their
best player is lost to injury. You know how many
guys would have folded in that situation. Instead, he goes
out averages thirty six and a half points, eight point
three rebounds, seven point three assists, shoots forty two and
(47:44):
a half percent from three point range and ninety four
percent from the foul line, and they sweep the Portland Trailblazers.
They not down, they work down to one. They're not
about to go home. I tell you the North it's
going home. They're playing better competition. The Portland trail Blazers
(48:05):
aren't supposed They looked like they weren't. Like we got
off the bus in the wrong town. They didn't know
where they were Portland there, they came out there. They
got there in the best backcourts in the league. I
say the third best back Everybody said best, and nobody
said they were better than Stephan Clay. They had the
(48:25):
third best backcourt in the league behind Harden and Chris
pay showed him. They got out played period of the end.
They showed up thinking it was open gym, and they
realized they're in the Western Conference final. Chef Curry did something.
His story stuffed him. Steff was terrible and rounded one
broke up off the playoffs, not of the Western Conference.
(48:46):
If he was twenty seven points in the playoffs, that terrible. Yeah,
it was terrible in the first game, he wasn't your
standards are for him, and rightly so. But he was great.
Don't get it twisted. He said, a franchise record for
most thirty point games consecutively, five straight. You know who's
(49:08):
played for that, Franchi, Chris, Kevin Durant, Chris, did you
see Barry? Did you see him? Hard away? And and
the smulest stuff none of them have done. Wait, Will Chamberlain,
For goodness, Steph can't even guard anybody. Drop when when
I'm looking Will Chamberlain, that's a mic drop. Sam, don't
that's a mic drop? Please? You're gonna mention who's in
(49:29):
Toronto history, Chris Bosh, You don't mention him. I'm talking
about the job that Kawhi did on Yannis. Stick down
all I got to see did on Yannis to stop
that guy who's been unstoppable in the playoffs. Steph Curry
can't guard anybody. They hide him on the court because
he can't guard anybody, and everybody knows it in the NBA.
(49:49):
That's why everybody said, That's why how comest deployed him
so much. How come we didn't get to respect that
because everybody knows he's hiding on the field. He killed
the court. He can't guard anybody and every He's a
liability and everybody knows it. Oh yeah, he's a real liability.
They just want to straight finals. How they hide that liability,
huh because they got other guy d gotta play position
(50:11):
one guy Drake guys place his man and stuff straight.
Minds that good? Yes, he got that good. He's not around,
he said, is not the one hiding him. But he
has been that good. Yes, Dray Parkley, good stop it.
You know this is over, I said Wilt Chamberlain. That's
an end of vartumn. You know. I cannot wait until
(50:34):
they lose in the finals, and then you have to
eat your words. I want them to save this this
cold chank because it's gonna be a cold by word.
I want you to eat your words on that and
eat yours. See, I'm not like you when if I'm wrong,
I will admit that I'm wrong. Well, but you're so
go off. You'll come in here and find some cocka
(50:57):
MANI mami story to somehow finessed like I wasn't really wrong.
Tom Brady only threw for two hundred and twelve yards
he didn't even have a touchdown in the Super Bowl.
Top he was awful. They didn't win because of him,
rops they did win me with him as props. And
I will give the Milwaukee Bucks, who I like, Toronto's
(51:19):
winning the championship. Keep telling Bucks their props. I will
give the Toronto Raptors their props if they beat the
Golden State Warriors. But mister Rod Parker, I'm saying right
here and right now, if the Golden State Warriors win
the finals without Kevin Durant, you got some splain in
the do all right, Ricky or Lucy, what you're gonna do? Well,
(51:44):
then their props if they if they win, to everyone
pull it off, unless there's some sort of major injury,
then of course, you know then we could re evaluate that.
But if they win this, which I don't believe they will.
I don't think they'll beat any team coming out of
the East. I don't. That's fine. You can think all
you one, you didn't think Tom Brady could win another
Super Bowl? See them? You know what, the Philadelphia seventy
(52:04):
six ers with Joe Lmb, Jimmy Butler, Tobias Harris and
Ben Simmons could beat the Brooklyn nets. That shows you.
That shows you. You're in the banquet. You're you're the
one who y'all riding with. Yeah, you know where y'are
riding with? The man who picked Allan and Spencer, then Witty,
he picked the old city to go. He picked Oklahoma
City to go to the Weston Conference Finals. He's also
(52:27):
the guy who picked the Lakers to win fifty three
games and go to the FMBA, the Western Conference Finals.
And where am i Jordans? Because you watched on that bed.
I beat you on that bed. I told you. I
told you way back. And he's still crying. They were
back in the fourth seed. And Chris, let me give
(52:47):
me one. Let me get back to Kawhi. You want
to praise Kauhi. Look, and I'm not Kawhi. It's the
reason why this is nothing against Kawhi, because he has
indeed been great, But you don't give me the oh
Yannis only got twelve points. Look, Detroit, you're hopless. Detroit Pistons,
you're weak. Detroit Pistons, you're more ribundant. Detroit Pistons. You're sorry,
(53:12):
Detroit Pistons. They held Yannis the fourteen points one game
so it can happen when you don't have a jump shot.
So I'm just saying, to develop one. What's gonna happen
In two years, he'll be a very capable three points
because he was exposed a little bit there, don't you think? Nah,
he had a bad he had thirty and twenty four
(53:32):
the games before they're gonna beat Toronto. I'm telling you
do we have wings on that we can wings rob
g can even get in this all right, Lemon Pepper,
And don't be trying to have one of your friends
pay it off either like you did last time. Was
that legitimate or not? It wasn't legiti, it was he
(53:54):
told me at dinner because I beat him in the
wings bat So he paid for Chris. Yeah, but he
paid for yours too. That was your dinner, not last.
He played for my dinner out of the kindness of
his heart and that he loves my takes. I'm still
waiting for my shoes, so you should you know that
now it's understood. Listen. You know what, Chris, why don't
you just pay for the ones I just got? I
got onto that. I know you got some new alligator
(54:15):
Jordan's man. Every time I see, you got a new
pair of Jordan, not a set for the summer. I'm done, right, Yeah,
I've heard that. Seven. I'm done. I'm not anymore Jordan
last month. I'm not buying anymore for the rest of
the year. You want to put a wing bet on that? Help? Really?
I want coming a year now? You got control of that.
Oh see, but I don't think you can do it?
(54:36):
All right, you're turned away in. Who has been the
MVP of the NBA playoffs so far? You want to
over emphasize the first round. Go ahead, I'm about the finals,
the conference finals, record breaking stuff. All right? Is it Kauhai?
Is it Steph? Or is it somebody else? You're turned

Hey man? I agree with you with Curry having a
big playoffs since since Durrant went down, But I honestly
(56:28):
think the Warriors will win the finals and Draymond Green
will be the finals MVP. Not Curry, Yeah Draymond and yeah,
Draymond's Curry and then stress Curry will not You'll have
what four four championships and not no finals MVP. I mean, whoa,
that's Rod Parker's not his dream. His dream is that
(56:50):
they lose. We was just talking about. I don't, I don't,
I don't, I don't have anybody knows you do. I
don't have any horse in the race. You do, hey
will and leave you bet on him? How can you
not have a horse in the dingy couple of Fox moduad?
But that's what chicken wings? Go ahead? Well what you got? Yeah?
I think Kawhi Leonard is the MVP of the finals.
(57:12):
Well you mean the playoffs playoffs? So far they're not
gonna get to the finals for the playoffs. Um, I
mean just you know, he ain't got much around him,
you know, and what he's doing, it's just been incredible.
Step Still has Draymond, Um, he had Iggy there for
a little bit. Still got Clay Thompson, you know, pretty
much his core group. Yes, I think he's just working
(57:32):
with more, you know, not to diminish what he's doing,
but I just think what Kawai's doing with that group
is just amazing. It's like Red van Fleet man, that
dude hasn't been showing up all right. Well, thanks, let's
go to Kit in Oregon. Kit, welcome to the Eye Couple. Hey,
(57:53):
thanks guys. First of all, a great show. Thank you.
Yeah yeah, listen, not my barber, and you guys get
me home every day. So I appreciate that. Man. That's awesome.
But he comes to butt yeah because here comes a buck.
Because I think this is one of those days where
Rob is what I call a purposeful contrary. Right, there
are a lot of those dames about being contrary for
(58:17):
the sake of being contrary, because he said I was
almost on your side, Rob until you said that my
Trailblazers were bums. And what what you're failing to remember
is that without Steph Curry, the Warriors were down by
fifteen and three of those four games. And without Curry, uh,
(58:39):
they don't win those games. No, I get that, but
you would mean that you would have three star players
not playing and you need that to win. I'm just
saying that Portland looked like deers in the headline, like
they weren't ready for this. I mean, they had a
nice run up to this, but to know that to
blow the game that they blew Curry, Come on, kid,
(59:00):
you know you're hurt that they that they had leads.
It wasn't like they got buried from the first quarter,
could never recover. They were winning these games and then
they got buried by Steph Curry. Thank you kid, thank you.
That's a ghost what he's doing. How about Jamaar in Texas?
(59:22):
You're on the odd couple of Fox Sports Radio. What's up, Jamar? Hey?
What's going on? Robin Christ what's happening? I was just
listening to y'a slve and we've been a family y'all
for a long time. Thank thank you. Yes, answer the question.
I would say Steph Curry has to be the MVP
because of what he's been doing without k D in
the lineup, and um Rob, he's talking about Kawhide being
(59:44):
a great being the MVP of the playoffs. They played
against Philadelphia. Who who's um? Who emo is? They're too young,
they're too immature to be ready for the playoffs and
make him to make a long run. They were down
and they were down to Philadelphia, right, which is not
something to help your heart. What are you talking about that.
You're talking about Portland, mar don't forget uh, Chris, Chris,
(01:00:11):
I'm saying, um, Philadelphia. No, that's why I agree. I'm
talking to Rob saying he said Portland wasn't ready for
the moment. You're right, Philadelphia was not ready for them.
He had to make an unbelieved Did you see that
shot he made with eight people on them. It's unbelievable
shot that will go down great, it's right next to
the one. But yeah, but you say that we made
(01:00:32):
to win the champion. But you think it wasn't clutch.
It wasn't clutch because it was a t You have
a one man definition. It wasn't. It was a great
man definition. When your dad look up the definitions. Look
up the definition. You gotta be down and that's clutch.
Like if I missed the shot, we're losing. If I
make that with everything righting on it, that's a clutch shot.
(01:00:55):
Let's go to Alex in Vegas. You know him, right,
what's up, guys, how are you doing? Yeah? Man, I
just want to tell you guys, I love you guys,
to show I listen you guys every day. Thank you.
I just gotta say one thing. I love your whiny
fan voice. Oh my god, thank you. You're the only
one in America. Hey, you're gonna get more that we
(01:01:15):
don't encourage you, please perfect man. Yeah, I gotta say. Man,
I'm not a big Warriors fan, so I like Jannis.
I believe that he's been playing pretty good, pretty well. Man.
I just think that I think that they're gonna give
him a tough time uh this next round. So Yannis
has been great? So you picking Milwaukee over Golden State? Yeah?
(01:01:36):
I do actually think. I think Milwaukee. They're big, man,
are just gonna have they got the sighs for sure? Yeah,
for sure. All right, let's go to Rico in La Rico.
You're on with the odd couple. Yeah, I was happening, man.
I'm a I'm a Day one listener man, and you guys,
I love the show. Every time I hear that Rob Parker, man,
I start cracking up on the playback Parker for you Rico, right,
(01:02:00):
the appreciate it. I listen, Chris, you got the right team,
but the wrong players watching. So look, as an MVP,
I considered that the most impactful person it's gotta be
Draymond Green. If you look at the plays in the
way he impacts the game defensively from an energy standpoint,
(01:02:23):
playmaking big shots. To me, he's been the most impactful
player in all of the playoffs. If it wasn't for him,
they don't be Houston, you know, they don't. And if
it wasn't for Draymond, they wouldn't. They wouldn't have swept
the Blazers. So I think it's by far Draymond Green.
Draymond has been fantastically I gotta be honest, if you
had to pick, like, say this where the finals, or
you had to pick the MVP of the Western Conference Finals,
(01:02:47):
it'd be a strong argument that it could be co MVPs.
I know what he lost that way? He looks like
he pay five years ago. Yeah right, Honestly, this is
the best I've ever seen him play, Like better than five.
He still takes those of ugly three pointers. But let's
go to Khalil in New Jersey. Khalil, you're on with
(01:03:09):
christ and Rob. What's going on? What's happening? Happening? How
you chilling? Chilling? Positively? Left? All right? So I mean
I listened to with y'all Faith and you know, y'all
came with a cond of sort of, but I feel
like y'all grabbing look through y'all, y'all level intellect's way
too high for that. The most impactful player in this
year's playoffs by Florence Kevin Durant and I'm going because
(01:03:30):
he got hurt. You mean, I'm just honesty, No, can
you call him the most impact? What he was saying
before that, let me finish, let me finish. So he
got it. He got in McCullough's head in the podcast
number one, number two. His performance against the Clippers was
outstanding except round was that in come on, man, all right,
(01:03:52):
you don't all right er Houston. He balled out and
he was over the last game and a half. That's okay,
But his absence talked step at Raymond in that that
whole dynamic that's going on and go to state right
now has been impact. Nobody played better than Kevin Durant
when he was healthy and them his absence has forced
(01:04:14):
their games or to another level. J D control, That
game's rapped that level before Kadi got they weren't no,
they weren't here when no, no, you're right, not the
last three because they don't have to do as much
when Kadi's there, I'll give you that if that they
did it before. But if they were that, they would
play that way because they played team basketball. By that,
(01:04:36):
I don't I don't know what you Maybe you never
played basketball, Rod, but when you when you play basketball,
it's a team sport. I don't just shoot it as
many times. I'm not saying you gotta shoot another great player.
I'm gonna share the rock. So Draymond was in good
shape and them playing like this, not playing no, But
because when you you see Draymond grabbing the rebound and
pushing the ball up court every time, you don't do
(01:04:59):
that with kd you a slower with Katie. You got
more ice so we can because Katie was going off
on you because he wanted the ball. No, Draymond is
doing exactly now what he did that play. And he
looked at Katie like what you talking to me like,
I'm Kevin Looney, I do this, I does this, And
(01:05:20):
Katie said, I does this. That's why you got two
rings the last two years. Raymond say me, don't need you, right,
And when they lose in the finals, I want to
see I can't wait to eat my wings all up
in your face. Man, I'm gonna be greasing back. I'm
taking it back to the seventies, breezing back in your face,
(01:05:41):
grease all over my cheeks at show, at show expense.
That's all right, I got money, you do. All right.
It's Tonight's a must win game for Kauai and the Raptors.
NBA champion Eddie House, our main man, has the answer next.
But first let's get to Ralph Irvin of the Latest
is Boards. My mayor, Ralph, Well, they are about to
(01:06:03):
get started in Toronto Milwaukee taking on the Raptors. The
Bucks lead the series two games to one. It will
tip off again in the next few minutes. Here it's
eight thirty Eastern time already. Meanwhile, well, it is going
on in Saint Louis. The Blues lead the Sharks one
nothing with though about fourteen minutes to play in the
(01:06:27):
first period. In tonight's Discover Card key matchup, Discovers going

(01:06:51):
the sixth inning. The Yankees shutting out Baltimore six nothing.
In the fifth, Colorado gets a two run triple from
Charlie Blackman. They're shutting out Pittsburgh for nothing. In the
fifth inning. Toronto gets a two run bomb from Rowdy
to Les and then a Randall Gridschuck home run. They
lead Boston three nothing in the fifth. Miami up three
two over Detroit. They are in the fifth inning. Now
(01:07:14):
we'll be back to Chris and Rob in ten seconds.
But first a word from farmers that Farmers Insurance. We
know a roof can withstand a live one exception being
an airborne car. Seen it, covered it. Doctor Farmers, we
are farmers underwritten. My farmers took Finn Insurance Exchange and
Affiliates products und the oble in every state. Austin Barnes
(01:07:34):
an RBI single for the Dodgers. They lead at Tampa
Bay three nothing. But let's get back and talk some
NBA Eastern Conference Finals with Chris Drussard, Rob Parker and
the Sun Devil from the East Bay. That's Eddie House
from way down to Ralph showing off his knowledge Sun Devil.
All right, coming to you live from the guy go
Foxmores Radio Studios. It is the I couple. Is easy
(01:07:57):
to say fifteen percent or more on your car insturments
with Geico. Go to Geico dot com or call eight
hundred nine four seven Auto. The only hard part figuring
out which way is easier? All right? Yeah, when you
hear the beat, when you hear that music, you know
what time it is. It's time for the NBA champion
FS one NBA analysts, former three points sniper Eddie House.
(01:08:20):
What's happening? Man of our favorite people? What's going down? God? Man?
I love how y'all intro me? Man? Love right giving
you man, man, But it's all well deserved. Man, all right,
Look who's the MVP of the playoffs thus far? Who
it's it's a it's a couple of guys that's out
there really really bawling. But how can we not say
(01:08:42):
that's not right? Now? Thank you? Bring no beat. Don't
be a prison of the moment, Look at the litten
a moment, think about what think about this series? What
steps is average? He's average last night to close things out.
But then we talk about the reef. No, let's talk
about the rebounding note, the four offensive rebounds, keeping possession
(01:09:04):
of a line when they need possession. Did we say
playoffs no? Keeping you like to the game? No, because
we said of the entire playoffs? And he was lousy
the first two rounds. He missed the duncan a key situation.
You're gonna put him just got I know what I'm
asking you. I'm asking you when he scored thirty he
(01:09:28):
was allousy the first two rounds. But I'm just gonna say, hey,
could they can't be lousy two rounds? Thirty thirty three
in a second half? Come on, that's not lousy. If
that's lousy, man, sign me up. What about what about Kawhi?
Kawhi is the reason why he ended the game? Reason
why they are about They on the version of being
(01:09:49):
down three one if they don't win tie to to tonight.
What are you talking down about? You know? Okay, Rob,
this is this I'm a getting Chris now. When Lebron
James was doing all this work, you didn't want to
give him credit for doing work. You said he was
never enough so what he has these players over Kawhi.
It has better players than Lebron has ever played with
(01:10:09):
besides Kyrie, besides Kyrie, but and he is not getting
it done. You what do you think that if Lebron
and Kyrie that Cleveland Cavaliers team will be doing to
the Milwaukee Bucks walking right? That's exactly That's exactly why
Yannis is happy gone. He's like, man, we ain't gotta
deal with him no more. All right, that's a drop.
Now when the mic drop stopping? Now? And now when
(01:10:33):
when y'all stopped, I'm so annoyed at that. And now
when they win this game and then uh, make this
a seven game series and win the series and go
to the finals. Then with Juli said, then what will
you say about about same thing? I would say, they
get exactly what I said. I figured it would be
a seven game series. It will be a tough one.
And if I want Kawhi at the end, if it's
a seven game series over Yannis, I mean, and then
(01:10:55):
you see how Kawhi played against Yannis when Yannis was
one for nine, four turn overs, when Kawhi guard him,
And that was the reason why we talked earlier once
a few weeks ago or last week, when you said
who would I start with, would it be Yannis or Kawhi,
And I said Kawhi because he can defend on the
other he could take Jannis out of the game. Yannis
can't take Kawhi out of the game. So that's the
(01:11:16):
reason why I said that last week. But we talked
about what Steph Curry did, how he did it, and
I mean, you have to watch how he's playing the
game though, and he is not only just knocking shots down,
he's setting guys up. Also, he never stops on offense.
There was a play last night where he started on
the left wing, ended up running to the top of
the key, to the right wing, to the right corner,
(01:11:38):
went cut baseline, was in the left corner, ended up
where he started from, pup fake dame and got a three.
I mean, I want to ask you something. Those are facts,
that's something Rob doesn't want to hear. I want to
ask you another thing. What did you make of And
because we've been talking about this as well earlier about
Magic Johnson and him going public and talking about while
(01:11:58):
Polinka and went down, what do you make of that
whole scenario? Well, we already knew. We already knew that
everybody that anybody that had the ear to the NBA
and under and had any kind of NBA connection understood
that that was already going on. And when he made
the decision, everybody was blasting magic. Magic just waited patiently.
He made his decision, and he sat there and waited patiently, like, Okay,
(01:12:20):
I'm gonna make the right move at the right time.
And it's not against the Lakers, And that's I think
everybody's getting it twisted. This is against Rob Polinka free agents.
I don't think it's gonna hurt the Lakers. That it's
not gonna hurt the Lakers at all, because what's gonna
happen is Lebron is gonna be more so of the gym,
(01:12:41):
not the gym recruiter, and he's gonna do what Magic was.
He's gonna be the recruiter. If you want to come
play for the Lakers, you know you're coming to play
with Lebron James, and Lebron James is gonna have to
be the ultimate recruiter. Damn with Rob Polinka saying because anyone,
I don't think he's respected amongst the guys the ogez
in the hoop game. I think that Rob Blinco right
(01:13:03):
now is as I think he is the biggest part
of the dumpster fire. You everybody's saying Magic sing gasoline
on it, Well rob Blinko started it, you know, so
if you if you won't keep the fire going, if
you're trying to stay warm, right, and that's all Magic
did with so little gasoline on because what do you
want everybody to know? Understand that I was getting underhanded.
Everything that I was doing was getting uh looked at,
(01:13:24):
getting talked about on the under I was getting smiled
in my face and stabbed in my back to OJ's
you remember that something in your face? Backsab backsab see.
I were joined by Eddie House, NBA champion. All right,
Eddie can go. What is Golden State gonna do it
(01:13:47):
in the next round. We don't know if it'll be
Milwaukee or Toronto. But can they win this thing even
if KAD doesn't come back. Yeah, yeah, yeah they can.
I think it would be a lot easier if Kd's there,
but they definitely can win it. They have to. Well,
you know, Ega dollars see how his injury is gonna
be because he's a very big part of what But um,
(01:14:08):
if say Ega Dollar comes back and you know, KD
might miss two or three games, whatever, I still think
that they are the best team and this team basketball
that they're just playing. Hey, let's not. Let's not. Almost.
When you ask me who's the MVP, I almost gave
it to Draymond of because I have to give Draymond
so much credit. Think about he had the toe injury,
he was looking fleshy, out of shape. By time the
(01:14:31):
playoffs came, he looked mean, he had, he looked quicker
on the court, and just what he's doing, not only
defensively but offensively as well. He's setting guys up, he's
selling guys where to go, he's running the point forward positions,
he's they're running through him through picking rolls at time,
and then just defensively, just magnificent man, he's been almost
said him, but I can't. You gotta score point and
(01:14:52):
that's the name of the game. Who has more points
than other? And Steph has been doing that, So that's
why I said that. But I mean, Draymond has been fantastic,
and if he continues to play like this, Clay hasn't
been great. So you know he's gonna have these moment,
he's gonna have a moment where he's gonna be great.
They just look like a team that's just gonna be
extremely hard to beat if you're not doing everything right.
Because if you look at Portland, Portland had him down
(01:15:14):
double figures three straight games. Right, come out, turn the
ball over, even though even though they had them down
that and this was a thing. If you have a
team down game two and you lose that game, you
go back look at film and say, hey, guys, okay,
this is where we lost the game. We gotta be
better here. But if you do the same thing in
game three, get up and lose, it's two things. You
don't have enough on your team and that team is
(01:15:36):
just that much better than you. And that's exactly what
happened with Portland. So I don't see it's gonna be
tough for any team to beat Golden Stake. All right,
that's the great Eddie House. Eddie, this is for you,
This is for you. Now you'll all have to sing,
all are you ready? Here? We go back? All right,
(01:15:59):
Eddie else we love when he joins us. All right, man,
have a great night. Appreciate you. Steph Curry, isn't the
only All star point guard that Rob Parker has a
problem with. Oh, we'll explain. Next is the Eye Couple

Talk to farmers. We are farmers underwritten my Farmers chok

(01:16:41):
all over my cheeks, Yo, I like the sound of that.
The cheeks on my face, light the cheeks on my face,
my cheeks get down and it ain't like that? I
I Christian got ge Wow, that don't sound right. I
(01:17:06):
was saying you my whole boy, I better never hear
that take again. I want that take destroyed. What kind
of greases that is that? Petroleum jelly? Speaking of destroyed,
speaking of destroyed? Enough with the off color humor at
my expense. All right, Damian Lillard who just got destroyed.
(01:17:26):
I'm a big d little fan, but he got destroyed
in this Western Conference finals by Steph Curry. It showed you,
as Meek Mildy said, their levels to this. And he
went to another level when he outplayed Westbrook and everybody
praised him all he passed Westbrook. He's there now, and
then the next level comes and he wasn't running, He
(01:17:47):
wasn't ready run and it didn't play great in the
second round to be And don't forget right those last
two games six and seven. And I know he made
the shot, but other than but he really didn't play
that well when when the pressure was on yetting still,
the Portland Trail Blazers are about to give him a
four year, one hundred and ninety one million dollar extension,
(01:18:11):
man tracked extension. Pray good for him. You know what,
I always say, it's always better with the cheddar. But wow,
all right, so look, I'm fine with it. I do.
I just said, Damian Lillard got out played and somewhat exposed.
And do I think he's gonna lead the Blazers to
a championship. No. If I had to bet, I'd say no.
(01:18:31):
So I'll say right now, probably not. However, he is
a perennial All Star. He's one of the best players
in the league. He is a great ambassador for your team.
He is a great leader of your team. He is
a local legend and very well maybe on his way
(01:18:52):
to the Hall of Fame, and so's the right sign him.
I'm fine with it. Look, you have to keep interest
in your team. What's the alternative? No, I'm just get
rid of him and rebuild through the draft. Ask Detroit
how that works. Ask Phoenix how that works. As about
keeping your guy and paying them, because ain't nothing happening.
(01:19:14):
I mean, it's it's it's all. I'm sitting notion that
it's either we either win the championship or less tank
and go to the bottom so we can get the
number one pick. That's b as. I'm not saying that
I know you're not. I'm saying for those out there
to think that I agree up from that's ten point.
I just wonder, is he really a super max player
that like that? You know, I always people gripped Sacramento
(01:19:37):
when they let Boogie Cousins go. Remember he was gonna
he was in line for two hundred and six million
dollars guaranteed, and they were already having problems with him
and they never led him to the playoffs, right, and
they said, you know what, Yes, this is gonna hurt
us because he's a really good player and we have
to start all over again. But we're not gonna max
this guy out of We can't deal with them before this.
(01:19:58):
How in the world could you do anything after you
sign that deal? So did you you understood that, right?
Understood letting Boogie go because again Boogie had not led
you to the playoffs. They got swept. You get to
the conference finals and you're in the playoffs every year
and then Portland know they've been swept, like three years
in a row. Years in a row. That's all I'm saying,
three years in a row when you're max in a Supermax.
(01:20:21):
I'm not saying that that that they shouldn't pay Damian
Lillard and they shouldn't want to keep them. I don't
know if you gotta give them every penny or negotiated deal. Man,
we love to keep you. Maybe it's not exactly the Supermax.
I don't know, but maybe maybe you want the feelings
that I can say going to him and having a
conference just saying dude, we need to get you if
(01:20:42):
we But it may not matter because Supermax or even
a little below, they're probably gonna be capped out. So
it's not gonna help you get other players by not
giving him to I'm just saying I don't feel that's
that's a fact. I don't feel comfortable with Supermax and
a guy that they got swept last year by New Orleans.
I mean, they didn't not looked. But here's just this,
(01:21:03):
and the fans and people don't want to hear this,
but it's the reality of the situation. Very few teams
are going to win championship. No, I get that everybody.
I think the Utah Jazz are a tremendous franchise. I
think the Indiana Pacers are a tremendous franchise. Neither one
of them has ever won an NBA title. I can
(01:21:25):
count on one hand how many finals they've been to combined. Right,
So that's I mean, so it can't be Yeah, you
want to win a championship and all that, but it
can't be championship or bus. You don't think Phoenix right
now would die to go back to the Steve Nash
and Marie stottam Sean Marion Era know they had avery
(01:21:47):
got to the finals. But you keep that as long
as you can. Patrick Eween in New York, you'd love
to have that run if you're the Knicks right now.
Didn't end in a championship, but you were relevant. You
were in the hunt in the blazes with Lillard, will
be in the hunt and relevant, you know, for as
long as he's in his prime. But was dropped. But
(01:22:08):
it wasn't. I don't even drop the mic. This is
what I want when you over yourself gritted, just burn,
when you over just bur cheek, greasy cheeks. Take. That
wasn't amazing. That wasn't me. Rob Robers here, that's our bet.
I better never hear that take. I'm gonna go like
Rob with on mister softy. No oh no, if you
(01:22:30):
let us start playing mister softy again. All right, for Greezy,
for gridgy cheeks soft not just one. Fox Sports Radio

Eastern Conference Finals are underway. They have just completed the
first quarter of Game four. Raptors are ahead thirty two.
(01:23:23):
Thirty one is what is not quite a must win situation,
but essentially they're down two games to one, so they
need to win this to tie it up, going back
to Milwaukee for Game five. So so far, so good
for the Raptors, although it is very much nipp and tucking.
Yannis ont Dakumpo, who had only twelve points in Game three,
(01:23:46):
he has come out with a vengeance eleven points, five
rebounds in the first quarter, rob so he has figured
out whatever it was that was ailing him. And Kauai
is off to a poor start three points one of
four shooting in the first quarter. Kyle Lowry's carried them
with twelve, but that's good because because he's gonna need
(01:24:07):
some help from teammates, so they get started early and
Kawhi could help out later on. Your boys are going
down to night, all right, Walkers winning this series. We
got a bet on this. I just want to make sure, Okay, Yeah, cool,
all right. There was a story written by the great
Marcus Thompson, who does a fantastic job for the Athletic.
(01:24:28):
He wrote a story today and it really got robbed. Gee,
our producer really excited because there was a quote by
Andre Igwadolla in which he was talking about Steph Curry,
who of course averaged thirty six, eight and seven in
that Western Conference final. And the quote from Igwadolla said,
(01:24:49):
I think he's the second best ever, and he was
talking about Steph Curry. Rob Ge and several other people
thought that Igwa Dolla meant the second best player of
all time to Michael Jordan, which obviously is going a
little too far. But what he actually meant. I talked
(01:25:10):
to Marcus myself or texted with him, and he also
clarified it himself on Twitter. The second best it wasn't.
And the reason mark the reason because I texted with
Marcus about it the first let me say what he
meant was the second best point guard ever, but that wasn't.
And then the story it did and Marcus admitted he
(01:25:30):
should have clarified it. The reason he didn't was because
Igwa Dolla has said this before. He said it last year,
I believe. So he felt like it was understood, but
it wasn't because I was wanting that you gotta put it,
and he admitted it and he corrected it on Twitter.
So anyway, he said Steph Curry is the second greatest
point guard ever behind Magic Johnson. It got us to
(01:25:53):
thinking how far, how high I should say in the
all time rankings, the all time list, can Steph Curry go?
I already have him. As much as it pained me
to do this, but I had to be objective. I
already have determined that Steph Curry is the best small
(01:26:16):
quote unquote small player of all time. I recently moved
him ahead of Isaiah Thomas. You get your chance to
try to combat what I said, Try try. I recently
moved in my head of Isaiah Thomas, and I do.
I do think he's the second best point guard of
all time. I recently moved in my head of the
(01:26:40):
big old Oscar Robertson, and I do think he's not
there yet. I believe Steph Curry does have a chance
to get into the top ten players of all time.
The first step, or at least the most you know
recent The next step, I should say is winning these
finals even if Kevin Durant doesn't come back, and I
(01:27:04):
actually believe. I'm not saying it's gonna happen. I'm just
saying he could do it if thieves continue, if he
continues to play his way and win championships, when even
after Kevin Durant leaves, Steph Curry has a chance, an
opportunity to even pass Magic Johnson as the best point
(01:27:25):
guard ever. Yeah, I'm not saying he will, and I
would probably bet against it. I'm just saying it's within reach.
I just have a problem with the Isaiah Thomas and
we're talking about the original Zeke who beat Uh, Magic
Bird and Jordan and their primes. H And I get it.
I know everybody loves to circus threes and all the
(01:27:46):
other dipsy doodles. He doesn't play defense or anybody, But
to say that he's better than Isaiah Thomas, We've seen
the feats of Isaiah Thomas and what he's done the championship, well,
Steph has one until Kevin Durant show, I mean the
steps one. Did Isaiah win any without Dumars and Mark Acguire?
You this ryman, he how many top fifty players did
(01:28:08):
Isaiah I have on the on the team. How many guys?
Who did you get that? I'm asking me, I'm asking you,
trying to use my own amo, asking you who he had? None?
No other top fifty players on the roster. And I
agree to that. And I love Isaiah. No, you don't
loved I do love Isaiah. You know what? But Steph
(01:28:30):
Curry has then packed the game stop with the better
you wanted Isaiah better? You want to talk about the
clone you gave me? And you're right because I was
the first person articulated to you know you were think
I fell off a turn up track. I know you
knew because you cover those teams? Did you care you?
(01:28:52):
Did you ever think about it at in your mind?
That way? That Isaiah Thomas is the only player on
Earth who can say I land my team as a
team leader, as the superstar in the team. I beat
Michael Magic and Bird in their primes. No, so I
(01:29:12):
give Isaiah all that's so impressive when you think about what,
but hold on, Jordan Walking Magic. What can Steff say?
I beat Lebron, Yeah he beat Lebron. I beat Ron three,
Kevin durand I beat James Harden, I'd beat all these
(01:29:35):
other cats. I beat Kawhi Leonard, Jason Prime. So Isaiah's
not the only one who can claim something different. James
Harden had zero championships, Kevin Durant didn't win any until
he was with Steff and then who else would you say?
And Kawhi Leonard had won with that's at, So don't
give me that add up to the championships. And he
(01:29:57):
beat a shorthand of Lebron. Stop with this Steph Curry.
It is so Steph Curry is is so overdone. And
everybody every thirty eight eight and second when you talk
about he's triple double in the finals, but he's overdone.
There's always he's changed the game of basketball, but he's overdone.
(01:30:19):
There's always some little like caveat you're gonna dig deep
and you realize. So he won that one with nobody's there,
beat this guy with nobody, Uh was Lebron? Lebron was there?
Lebron is let me thing Kyrie Irving to who he
also beat? Lebron is the fault. We already know that
the finals failure of all time. He has more finals
losses than any other former MVP in the history of
(01:30:40):
the NBA six Can you wear six losses? Six elves?
That's the guy you're ranting and raving about that Lebron.
I mean that, Where do you have Lebron? Oh my god,
where do you have Lebron ranked on your list? I'm
not talking about that list. I'll tell y'all second second
to Michael Jordan this in Lebron. If he ain't that good,
(01:31:02):
then drop him in your rankings. I'm just telling you
that Steph Curry ain't where you think he is. He's
a mirage. Everybody believes he's something greater than he is.
He's a mirage. Was he a mirage last night? Yeah? Yeah,
he was a mirage because Portland couldn't figure him out.
Steph Curry plays well when he's playing the Washington Generals.
He's doing that was yes? Is that what Kevin Durant
(01:31:22):
and Russell Westbrick work? Did you see when Steph Curry
threw that bucket of confetti at some point in the
third quarter? That's what It's a gimmick. Get to the
answer the question how high can he go? Because you
once you start cracking corny jokes here, we know you
out of you, out of ammunition, you have nothing else.
He could be in the top twenty twenty. Yeah, top twenty.
(01:31:43):
He probably already is in the top twenty. No, I'm
just saying, but you asked me, and he can't get
in the top, can't get any high. Nothing he can
do if they win these finals without Kevin Durant, No,
I mean he might move up, But I get if
they win and I got ten guys already ahead of him,
he can't budge any of those guys. If he wins
like three in a row or something without him, maybe
(01:32:05):
maybe I reevaluate. But I'm talking about if they lose
this year, he drops out of the top twenty, he
goes the other way, he'll have three rings. No, but
he'll lost again. But everybody, how many finals did burn
The Magic lost four, Lebron's lost six to Magic won five,
He won five? Okay, Steph will have won three and
(01:32:25):
lost two and even the one the other one that
he lost, the other one. Top twenty, he drives out
of top twenty. No, he would probably be like twenty.
He's probably he's he's done more than Barkley. No, Barley,
I just didn't win. But he's in the top twenty.
I still say if it wasn't him going after trying
(01:32:48):
to get Kadi to join him, I think that's what
what what people was Lebron trying to get Lebron trying
to get Kadi two. No, I just didn't drop him
in your list. No, Lebron's but Lebron is a stat
sheet packer. I mean, go go look at just the
numbers that he's able to put up just because he's
that good. Have you seen Steff's numbers? Yeah, they're not
(01:33:10):
Lebron's numbers. No, he and Steph Campke. Steff doesn't play
the entire game. He doesn't. Lebron was a good defender
at one time, he was magic good defender. I'm just
talking about step What was Magic good telling you about
a good defender. I'm telling you about Steph's camp. I'm
just saying you can't you gonna use defense because he
said James Harden was the best way. He don't play now,
(01:33:32):
he don't play this. Steff don't play a liquid defense,
this hardened stuff. They have to hide him. How does
Harden become the best player in the league because nobody
was scoring thirty six points since Michael Jordan Jordan fifteen
years ago, thirty years scoring thirty six. No, not doing series,
not the regular season stopped, the more important the conference
time regular season. This is I'm just destroying Rob. He's
(01:33:54):
stuttering up on here. You know that. I was saying,
thank you, I don't even have to ask. I always Sam,
you know this is a rounde this Curry verse, Lillard?
Could you say this Wilder verse Brazil? This is this
is Ali form, not even Ali former form, at least
game My goodness, that's right, my man. I was saying,
(01:34:16):
let's just listen, wait till the beat comes. Sam, you've
been going, man, I just I just canceled your ob
couple jacket. It's all done. The champions here. I'm just
following orders, all right, my man. He just following the flow.
He can control of the show, spirit of this debate.
All right, it's your turn away in because this one's over.
(01:34:40):
What do you say? How high can Steph go? And
don't get it twisted. I am not saying he's better
than magic or he will be better than magic. I'm
just saying it's a possibility. Eight seven seven ninety nine

Can steph Curry go? Can he get in the top ten?
Not there yet? Can he surpassed Magic Johnson? Not there yet?
Let's hear what you think? Eight seven, seven ninety nine

So well, Chamberlain changed the game right right. Michael Jordan
(01:37:41):
changed the game right right, depag step changed the game too.
So why don't we give him his due? Because because
he also needed KD he went and beg Kdal. They
begged because they knew that they needed him in order
to keep winning. Aaron, Steph Curry Meldoll didn't win every
(01:38:02):
single title they aeron. Hear me out. Steph Curry is
the author of the first This greatest player of all
time who choked down a three to one lead in
the NBA Finals history. Steph Curry is the author. He's
signed the check. He's the one stopping. He can't be that.
(01:38:24):
He's a Stepford guy of the NBA. He gets his numbers,
but he lost. He lost the fight whole too, the
whole he changed because of him. Thank you. He changed
the game. Michael Jordan. He changed the game where than
Michael Jordan did. Let's go to Jay West in Vegas.
(01:38:44):
Jay West, you're on with the Eye couple. Hey, first off,
we gotta say rest in peace and Nipsey the Great, right, Yeah, sir?
Now I'm gonna use like Isaiah Thomas criteria on his
own criteria. He got Step better than him. He's just
went home. Did he say it himself? Did he say that?
Or you got what's no? I gotta go off his crisis.
(01:39:09):
The criteria is first, who has more championship, not that
that's not that's not. Hold on, Rob, don't cut me off. First,
Step is the leader of that team. Right, Step is
the best shooter ever. Right. I gotta get raw credit
because Isaiah did take out Bird, he didn't take out Jordan.
(01:39:31):
He did take out Magic and Kareem. Don't forget Kareem,
no doubt. But at the end of the day he
was oh, but he was still giving him hooks. You
can give a hooks like Joe Frazier, but at the
end of the day, you gotta give step his props.
If he wins this, he's right on Magic's hell, that's
(01:39:52):
that's right. And if and if West, if he loses
this them, where does that put him? Where if he
loses the finals without Kase somewhere you're right. If you
don't even you're not even looking to win a few
more finals. Sorry, you gotta look at the list closer.
Jay West, thanks for the call. What about we got what?
(01:40:15):
We got him? In Nashville. You're on with Christ and
robbe Tim. Hey, guys, what's happening? Hey man? Uh, the
first time on the show. I love you guys show,
listen to it every night. Thank you, thank you. That's
so nice. We appreciate you. But you know, I mean,
Steph's a special player. He's changed the game as far
(01:40:38):
as small guard play, and he's a phenomenal shooter. But
I've noticed that you had Kareem who changed the game.
Then you had Magic who was like a bidding point guard,
then Michael Ray and then a basketball and then you
(01:40:59):
got Staffy. You might want throw dirt in there. One
of the big men that could shoot that Durant's drive
on his heels too. Yeah, Dirk had a big Dirk
played a role. There's no doubt a seven footer out
there on the perimeter. Good thanks for a call, appreciate it.
Let's try Patrick in North Carolina join the Eye couple
of Fox Sports Radio. What's up Patrick? Hey, guys, I
(01:41:21):
appreciate you taking my call on Jeli's show. Thank you
Buddy calling in and regarding the Steff debate, I've got
to go start here you got Steph Curry, who is
surrounded by three other All stars, only plays what maybe
thirty two minutes a game? Still after just twenty five
(01:41:43):
and then soon as time it was allout, He's putting
up thirty eight to forty a game, and I just
can't help but think that he's one of the all
time best. So how did Patrick, how did they lose
up three to one? Which step call? You keep asking you?
I want step Patrick, you just gave me. Just tell
(01:42:05):
me what? How did Steph lose three games in the
row in the year that they won seventy three? Also
lost two of those three games at home? Steph? Is
this unbelievable player? How did they lose three games in
the role and lose the finals? Help me out? Well,
you're you're taking three games that you could arguably say
that with with Draymond going out, that certainly hurt, but
(01:42:26):
there was still two games after that. That was the
sixth game, Patrick, as ask me, how did Shock and
Kobe get swept in the playoffs? Not even the finals?
The playoffs? Huh? So great? How did you get how
Lebron James get swept in the NBA finals? If he's
so great? Twice. How Lebron how didn't make Michael Jordan
lose in the first round of the playoffs and get
(01:42:48):
swept several times if everybody got there there. Not suggesting
that he's the best player of all time, but he
for his size and what he does, and the fact
that with durant Out, I think they're forty and one.
And when he gets an opportunity to play forty four
minutes a game like Lebron does, he puts up almost
(01:43:10):
triple double numbers. At the sixty three guard. He weighs
one hundred and sixty pounds. Great call, Patrick, Patrick, Let's
go to Moha O'shay in Toronto O'shay. Welcome to the
Eye couple. Well, yes, go ahead, Yeah, I actually called
about the trash talking now hold on, yeah, we see,
hold on, we see. We gotta call the trash Yeah,
(01:43:31):
because if you want trash talking Tuesdays coming up pretty soon.
So if you do want to line up, hit us

up those calls. Those phone lines heat up quick. Can
(01:43:51):
we squeeze into Hollywood. Let's go to Hollywood in Chicago.
What's going on? Fellas? How are you man? Listen um
what stef is doing. I'm not I'm not impressed. I'm
not impressed by this run. I'm just not. I mean,
it's James. Guys, they like I said, you shooting thirty
three is a game? Like, come on, man, it's not basketball.
(01:44:14):
It's just not Hollywood. If all Steph Curry can do
is shoot threes? Is that what you're saying? Does he
not drive to the rim and finish? Does he not
have a mere range? Does he not pass? Did you
see that full court passing through the Draymond last night
for a layout moment? But this dude, dribbler finisher, he
(01:44:37):
can do everything in self defend? Okay, but who has
who have they beat to get to the finals on
these years though, like Kevin, Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook.
That that's the only one I'll give you because the
games and the promise is always plumised. With Michael Jordan
when he's playing against chanitors, he come on, how many
(01:44:59):
times he a young ad? Come on, man, come on?
He beat with any Davis. He's beat James Harden. You
can't name a Hall of Famer in the league right
now that he hasn't Dot guys Atlantic, the old Spurs teams.
I talked about the old Spurs teams. He's beat Like,
I'm just started pressed. I think he's I don't get
(01:45:21):
me wrong. I think he's great. But I don't think no,
not that I said Thomas. And I'm from Chicago and
I'm a Jordan fan, and I hate I say Thomas.
But he's not better than he is not better than y'all.
Y'all now not coming with any facts. Y'all coming with him.
We'll get us. Let's get Zeke gone. We'll have more.
I'll call Zeke, We'll get him on. Let's get him on,
(01:45:41):
all right. I hope Ezekiel Elliott understands just how lucky
he is to be a Dallas cowboy. We'll explain next,
but first let's bring in our man, Ralph Irvin for
the latest in sports. Ralph, Hey, guys, if you're gonna
call Zeke, why don't you ask him where Magic was
in the eighty nine finals when he supposedly beat him,
Because he was sitting on the bench plane seventy five
minutes of a four game series. Magic Magic was yes
(01:46:04):
if he missed game because he had a bad hamstring.
Scott didn't play in that series either. Ralph ring it Parker,
I'm sorry you got Johnson. Ralph Johnson off the board.
Thank you, Hey, Ralph, you up? That was the rack, Ralph.
(01:46:24):
We gotta get Ralph. Look Christ because you agree with it.
They brought facts that I have forgotten. Don't ever down
play stats. First final Kareem Abdul Jabarti swan song. Kareem
was forty two years old, all right. That sports up
game was sponsored by Didot Ralph no sponsored by Rob Parker.
(01:46:47):
Thank you very much. Meanwhile, with last ring at two,
Kareem's that was like his last season. His last games
were in that series. Just saying meanwhile, Milwaukee Toronto. Right now,
it's the Raptors up fifty nine fifty Game four of
the Eastern Conference Finals, about a minute and a half
(01:47:07):
to go in that matchup. Milwaukee leads in the series
two games to one. Again, Raptors up fifty nine fifty
Stanley Cup Western Conference Finals, Saint Louis up three games
to two and the Blues have a three one lead
over San Jose six twenty to play in that matchup

pair of home runs from Rowdy to Lez again, a

two run bomb and a three run homer. They lead
Boston eight one in the seventh inning. Now we'll be
back to Chris and Rob in ten seconds. But first

but that's your boys. Are they rallied? They were down
big early and they've rallied. Not here up by eight

with ten seconds left, a chance to go up ten
Kyle Lowry drives. It's fouled, so they got a chance
to go up ten. Big win for them if they
can pull it off. All right, let's switch a little
bit to the NFL. Ezekiel Elliott was at a music
concert music festival in Las Vegas. Shouldn't win Lebron Jersey
(01:49:36):
and uh, I don't know what kind of sneakers there,
but they were the Laker colors as well. Yeah, yeah,
I don't know what contre yeah, yeah, but um and
he was handcuffed by police. Where was the peppers prayer?
I didn't see the peppers pray? Was there? Peppers? Oh?
It should have been, though, A think, Well, he was
in an argument with a woman I don't know if
(01:49:56):
his girl, Yeah the video and he he's kind of
she's trying to get away from him and he's like
he's not hitting her, but he's you know, bumping her
like to stay get away from him. And then security
surrounded him and he kind of walked up on security
(01:50:17):
like what you're gonna do? And I think that's actually
what he said, what are you gonna do? And he
walked up on the security guard and just ran over
the guy, you know, ran him over and he was drunk,
and the police handcuffed him and you know, the guy
the security guard didn't press charges, so nothing's gonna come
of it legally, but he knocked down it was get
(01:50:43):
a one or two game suspension. I think he should.
I'm glad that nothing worse happened, but I say it.
If this was the first offense, I wouldn't say he
should get suspended. But I think Ezekiel Elliott needs to
really understand the ramification of some of his behavior before
he ends up doing something worse. Because he's been getting
(01:51:04):
away with these smaller things, and so I think that
he really has to sit back and take inventory. Look,
you're twenty four years old. You're having fun, we get it,
but you can't be running over security guards and looking
like you might get physical with a woman. But you
already lost six games, Chris. And remember when the NFL
(01:51:27):
was investigating and he pulled down a woman's top on
a rooftop. And now here you are. They told you
you're on zero tolerance, Chris. That's what they told him.
So now even though he didn't get arrested, here you
are bad video acting out and you're in handcuffs. They
talk about protecting the shield. You don't have to be
(01:51:48):
arrested for the NFL to discipline you. So you're right.
I was on on Disputed this morning we talked about
this Shannon Skipping. I all agreed, and skip thought he's
gonna get a two game suspension and probably reduced it
right one game Chris, and he wound up losing the
game over this and again another game check. When are
(01:52:09):
you going to learn there's cameras everywhere. Stop stop with
the bad behavior. You're lucky that Jerry Jones. It's one
of those guys that turns the other way because he's
all about talent. Because he's always harbored a lot of
guys who foul stuff and been in trouble. He does.
So that's why Ezekiel knows Jerry's got his back. You
remember Jerry Jones tried to get the commissioner fired over
(01:52:33):
over the suspension. Do you remember. And we're not saying
Zeke is the worst guy in the world, but you
have to understand your track record follows you. Yes, all right.
When royan art Tests was in the NBA, if he
did after he had gone up in the stands and
all that, if he did something, it was going to
(01:52:54):
be treated differently than if Alan Houston did the same
because of the track record. It follows about priors, right, Yes,
so hopefully he learned. He's got to learn, and he's
an awesome player. I think he's the best running back
in the league. He is. He is as much as
I think Gurley is great, Todd Gurley, as great as
(01:53:15):
Leveon bell is. I think Ezekiel Elliott from the running
back position is the biggest game change. He's one of
the best change not right now. You know, Pittsburgh leviond
is great. But they were fine with James Connor. I'm
saying with C. J. Anderson in the playoffs. They didn't
make the play You're not gonna replace Ezekiel. Wasn't James
(01:53:37):
Connor's fault. That's for sure. I'm just saying. But they
didn't make the playlet. I ain't say it was better,
but I said they were fine with no season during
football team, You're gonna have a bat this year. I
got you better chill with your bets because you're gonna
be on me a lot of wings. We're gonna start
betting sneakers the way you buying sneakers. I'm done. I
(01:53:57):
told you about my last pet. Jordan's probably that I
see it, I'm gonna go to Fresh. I give you that.
I had to get these what alligator skin? Are those real?
Are they real? Because the alligator skin, they look like
the kind thee only selling in the hood that come
from China. You know, I was wondering what those are? Fresh?
(01:54:18):
Those are real? All right? But that's yeah, you're right
about Zeke. If he were with another team and another owner,
you don't know, right, But Jerry Jones is a right
spot to bed. You. Remember when he got Greg Hardy
remember that, Yeah, everybody else in the league was like,
oh the guy was the guy got out of it,
but he was convicted the domestic violence and he's still
(01:54:40):
Jerry Jones took him. The other thing with Zeke is
that you don't want to get your reputation so bad
and your list of infractions so long that when you're
not a superstar, want good. Yeah you're just good. You're
not but you're not what you are now, Yeah, nobody
(01:55:00):
wants you because there are some guys that if you
aren't on that superstar level, we're not putting up with
the baggage. And I'll tell you Ray Rice was a
perfect example. Right if he was still a good player, somehow,
some way maybe could they have made an exception. But
once you do something like that, right, he was prasada
non grata, basically because if he hit his wife and
(01:55:24):
the way you know, that whole thing went down, but
also because he couldn't play right. He wasn't a guy
that if he still was the Ray Rice of a
few years earlier yards against the Patriots in the playoff
game in Foxborough, if he was still like guy, somebody
would have tried to find a way to get him
back in the league, no question whatsoever. All Right, you
know what's next. This is for all of you disgruntled
(01:55:47):
sports fans out there, trash talking to Tuesday. You're turning
to trash anyone or anything in the world of sports,
even the Odd Couple. If you want. It's It's the
Odd Couple coming up next. Fox Sports Radio can't wait.
(01:56:07):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Odd Couple
with Chris Brussard and Rob Parker weekdays at seven pm
Eastern four pm Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the
iHeart Radio app at Farmer's Insurance. We know the sound
of a perfect hot air balloon landing and a les
than perfect one seen it covered it falk to farmers.
(01:56:27):
We are farmers underwritten my farmers truck fire insurance exchanges
and affiliates products unavailable in every state. It's the I
couple of Chris Brussar and Rob Parker. We're gonna get
right to it. It's time for trash talking Tuesday. Don't
you whatever we're talking about me. It's trash talking Tuesday.
(01:56:51):
It's a teeth reds it. I don't know whether to smile.
Let's you kick a field, go man? All right, you
know the rules. You can trash anyone or anything in
the world of sports. Let's start with Mark in Indiana. Mark,
who you're trashing? What's tough? Fellas? What's up? Man? They
should let me play along tonight. Listen, I got something, Robs.
(01:57:11):
You're gonna like this. Chris, you're in this one trashing
Lebron's all paint team, executive staff, the Joss the Jackson's Buppet,
Gum Sharp, Nick Chia pet Wright, Nick, what the hell
is that on your head? Tina Mobile and chrispru Sard
stop with this pathetic smoke screen in the Laker House.
(01:57:32):
It's not Genie Magic, Robert Linda, the toxic Twitter, Gagster
put the franchise in a blender average a triple double
the finals. You only won one game, stat boys, but
they were in fourth place in December and the Clippers
were in first. Like we don't remember. He's on a mission.
It's time to stop. All you're doing is wishing. I
(01:57:54):
gotta act black fact for you. For the first time
in NBA history, Tank he was so rampant the commissioner
had to chase the lottery to restore competitive balance and
Lebron's pathetic association. This is trash. Chalco on a couple,
pa me Mark getting busy. Let's go up here to
(01:58:18):
Dennis Dennis in Miami. Dennis, who you're trashing? I'm gonna
trash out of the three m vps Kawhi Leonard. I
don't believe he's gonna be the kim uh because honest,
he's a freak with the long alarms is I'm Deel
(01:58:39):
Curry uh Seth Curry is uh very good. And that's
it all right, guys, thank you appreciate. Let's go to
Osha in Toronto. Oshee, who you're trashing? Trash and k
d by first one to tell you guys, you guys
are the best show in North America. And I hope
you guys get a primetime show. You guys seriously that
(01:59:03):
that makes out there. We appreciate. Uh yeah, I'm a
Golden State fan, but I have to trash KDU. If
you notice yesterday, if you look at the pictures of
the trophy or ceremony, you know who wasn't there? KD. Yeah,
he wasn't in the locker room. Wasn't there? When they're trash,
It's not like he couldn't have traveled. It's not like
(01:59:24):
his house is an escape room. He's complaining about Kerrs
adoration with Steph, consulting about the Warriors winning without him,
salking about the Warriors are harder to fan without KD
salking about the Warriors play better without him. He is
the biggest spoiled brat kid in the NBA right now,
And I'm just I've lost so much respect for him
(01:59:46):
and how he's conducting himself with the people around him,
getting people to recruiting players while he's injured. It's just
so unprofessional, so disrespectful to the organization, to the players,
to his teammates. There's just no as no respect for
how he's conducting himself. You could have done this in
the in the off season. It's just a big distraction.
So I just kind of look at it like this,
(02:00:08):
I'll say his last thing. It's like a guy that's
upset with his girlfriend because he found out that his
girlfriend's ex boyfriend looks better than him. That's how it
feels like. He's just a sulky kid, and I'm just
so disappointed him how he's acting, no no respect on that.
All right, thanks for the conboards there he is? What
about Sam and Seattle? It's the couple Fox Sports Radio. Sam?
(02:00:30):
Who are you? Who you trashing? David Stern, Adam Silver
Mark Tatum? Wow? Why? All right? Anyway, I know you're
planning it, y'all. This is sabotage ninon to New Orleans?
Are you kidding me? Those were gonna be my SuperSonics.
You took them away. You gave them back so they
(02:00:52):
can get attendance and people can go watch them lose
twenty to twenty five games, and David's ain't gonna stay there.
It never worked with the Orland Johs. It never worked
when the Hornets moved there. Bring my Supersonic back eleven
years of waiting. We sold out the Key Arena for
a pre season game of the Words of Kings. Oh
(02:01:14):
branded thing, sick hordside what and you were not going
to bring them back. I want to see rain Man
in glove. I want to see those jerseys hanging in
the banners. You guys are despicable. We will find out
the truth about you, guys, and I hope you all
get arrested. I'm out, all right, Sam coming hard? All right,
Let's go to Mace in San Diego. Mace, who you're
(02:01:37):
trashing Aaron Rodgers? What from being a bad teammate and
a choker in the playoffs? Specifically, we're selling out and
making that cameo appearance in Game of Thrones. I'm in
the minority because I freaking can't stand that show. I
couldn't even make it through the first episode. It was
very boring, and I can't understand for the life of me,
why the show is so popular. I don't give a
(02:01:58):
damn about dragons, monsters, incest, rape, and over the top mutilation.
I hear people that work constantly having how about this crap?
All the show is is soft porn for nerds to
make metters worse. This show has cross over into sports.
I hear Jason Whitwalk another analysts use the show with
metaphors to what's going on the world of sports. Even
(02:02:18):
Ta T has a stupid spinoff called Game of Zones.
This TV shows everywhere like those story excuses for DNA
the Kardashians. With that being said, Aaron Rubbers should not
cross over into acting when his playing days are over,
because you're acting is so horrendous. Nothing can get you
another role in Hollywood. Never disappointed. That's why Anthony and
(02:02:41):
Los Angeles joined the on a couple of Fox Sports Radio.
Who you trashing Los Angeles Lakers? First of all, Genie
Buss is the worst female owner I have ever seen.
She makes Dolan look like a freaking Elbert Einenstein. I
am sick entire of these Laker fans oh saying, Oh,
We're gonna get everybody. No, you know what you're gonna
(02:03:02):
get nada. You all stink. You guys were forever stink.
For now on Lakers. Your curse has starts right now.
Sorry Laker fans. I'm out. Wow, there we go. Great
great day of trash people came and it was good
(02:03:24):
to hear Mark again. We didn't talked to Mark in
the wall from Ina was rhyming as usual and doing
the thing. Mace, of course delivers. What do you say that, John?
What was that thing? He said? Though in the middle
of it. Uh No, don't say that. What are you saying, Chris?
