R Party. You're listening to Fox Sports Radio. Yes, indeed
it is Chris. And you know I wasn't gonna leave
it out all Yeah, I just wanted to play with
(00:46):
the Eye Couple crew. They all their mouths were at
gate when I didn't start off with the R yees.
That's not cool, That's not cool. It is the Eye Couple.
I of course am Chris, Bruce Hart and Rob Parker.
Parker off again to take care of his television duties
with MLB Whip Around, and we're happy for him with that.
(01:10):
But we will be joined by Katino Mobili, eleven year
NBA veteran with some great insights. So you want to
keep it locked for the next three hours. NBA stuff
wall to wall as free agency is less than three
or about three days away, it is going to be
some fantastic stuff happening this weekend. And already there are
(01:35):
many things going on different match nations, and we got
all the updates for you and all the strong opinions. First,
let me introduce the I Couple crew of course on
the ones and twos DJ Alex Tye shirt. That's right
in a TV theme show Thursday. So let's see what
you're bringing in that regard. You know what I'm kind
of happy about is I don't have to play Golden Girls,
(01:57):
thank you, but I'm gonna probably still playing all the
great sitcoms out there. This is the one day don't
play it, don't play. I feel like I can venture
into some younger stuff today too, without well, I don't.
I don't know the younger stuff you think past nineteen
eighty one. I'm struggling. I'm sure you know a couple
of them, like some SpongeBob or something like that. Yeah,
(02:19):
a little bit, a little bit, but about like the
Fairly Odd Parents You never heard of that? Yeah? Man,
I like the Jeffersons, I like Happy Days, I like
Laverne and Shirley. I like family ties. Cheers Seinfeld, that's
the stuff I like, sein Felt. I'm with you. The
other stuff time over my head, all that stuff, so
that stuff is more cheery. All right, We're gonna welcome
(02:42):
in our man, NBA veteran, eleven year veteran, my guy
Catino MOBILEI what's happening? Man? You know, technically I've only
played nine straight years of basketball in NBA, So why
where do they get elevens? Have no clue? Really? Is
it just nine years? It's only nine okay points of
nine years? That's pretty good, right, So let's project that
(03:04):
at twenty four thousand, twenty thousand, you could have twenty thousand,
like exactly, at twelve thousand points in nine years, literally
nine years of basketball? Do people and had a lockout year? Right? Right?
So a short and see do people understand when you
see people? And do they understand how good you were people?
(03:24):
You know, former current players and all that because you
were sixteen point score for your career a nice stretch
where you were right in there between eighteen nineteen and
twenty one. Yeah, yeah, I think you know, well, my peers,
especially like when I played, they knew how tough I was.
And you know the James Hardens and Lebron's and all
those guys, they knew how tough I was when they
(03:46):
came in because you know, they're watching us a lot,
and then I guess to me still playing the Drew
and different things like that. The younger guys, um, you know,
they call me the original Uncle Drew kind of thing,
which is which is cool, you got and I'm coming in.
They're working, but uh, you know a lot of them,
you know, playing the Rico Hines's Jim Ucla on the summertimes.
(04:09):
A lot of younger guys kind of you know, uh
get we of like, oh Kat was really good or whatever.
They go then they go check out the stacks. Yeah wow, Yeah.
But you know, if it was eighteen until like my
last two years with the Clippers, which I had to
take another role and uh you know, so the points dropped,
but it was it was it was at that, like
you said, it was at that nineteen eighteen until I
(04:33):
got with the Clippers, and you know, you had Corey mcgetti,
who was you know, a twenty point score, eighteen point score,
and then m Brand was twenty and ten and then
I had Sam Cassell with me. So my role on
getting twenty a game twenty five a game wasn't something
I should be doing. It was more so cleaning up
all the you know, open hosts. I always say that
(04:53):
about Vince Carter. Look, if he keeps playing his his
career average gonna be down to about twelve points. I'm
telling you you got to get out quick, like, come on,
get out and watch up. Well, we're glad to have
you here. Man excited about and I'm sorry for this
couple of moms. I would take my mom My mama
just got back in town. Had to take her the
uh she works over at Bloomingdale. She'd be having fun
(05:14):
over the estyling people. So I had to take her
over there and didn't shoot over here. So that's where
you get your your fashion, Yeah, mom Dukes. Yea. Well,
we got put in the NBA stuff to talk about.
And the big news that came out today, Katino, was
that the Lakers have been able to clear cap space
now to have a Max ad a Max player. So
(05:35):
what I've been told is that there's two guys they're
gonna max if they can. Number one is Kauhika. If
they can get Kyrie, which I think is a long shot,
but they would max him as well, and then after
that nobody else they with Max if they don't get
one of those two don't like Jimmy Butler not no,
not as not as a Max. No, And I don't
(05:56):
know if they would take him. Oh any well, he's
gonna want them max, So they're definitely not looking at
him as a Max. D'Angelo Russell, you've heard that name
out there. They're they're thinking is if Kyrie goes to Brooklyn,
Brooklyn's obviously gonna renounce D'Angelo, and then they would try
to get him for less than the max, thinking he
probably is not getting the max anywhere. I wouldn't right
(06:20):
his max starts at twenty seven, so they're thinking maybe
twenty three, twenty two, something like that. I mean, that's
what he should get. Right now, you got to prove
some more to me how much of a dog you are? Well?
And also, and you can speak to this if you're him. Okay,
young kid was fifth year, will be in the league.
I think Jess became an All Star. You know, if
(06:42):
you come here to the Lakers, you might win the championship,
but you're not gonna be an All Star. That's gonna
be Lebron and AD and you're in the West. So
they got so many guards. How does my thinking this
is how I watch and you can speak to this
obviously because you were in the league and that borderline
all star type player. I think when young guys come
(07:04):
into the league, they're initially looking at let me establish
myself as not only because of the MAX number one.
You want to get the MAX, but you know you
got individual goals. You want to get to that level.
And then after you do that, that's when winning the
championships becomes more important. Right. So if you're DiAngelo, is
(07:25):
there any part of you that's thinking, you know what,
I can stay in Brooklyn or somewhere else in the East,
continue being an All Star, build myself up, rather than
going to the Lakers being the third possibly fourth guy
with Kyle Kuzman there and maybe win a championship. Well,
it's kind of tricky, right, And I think that's why
the Lakers before they had Lebron James didn't do well,
(07:47):
because there's so many guys that wanted to make a
name for themselves and getting being caught up in that
city kind of the La City kind of vibe. And
just like New York, you got a lot of the
young guys. Even if they lose, they're still happy. They
still go out still cool. They don't really practice on
their craft and and they can say they they can
say they do it. But I know, at being once
being young, if I didn't have Scottie Pippen and a
(08:08):
lot of the veterans that I had around me at
an early age, I won't I don't know if I
would have took it as seriously on a regular basis
when I do lose so and saying that, you know, again,
I wouldn't maxim out, not saying that he's not a
Max guy, but right now I don't think he is. Um,
if I was him, you made you wouldn't already an
All Star, right, and um, you know I missed the
(08:29):
All Star boat because I was in the West all
the time. It was kind of hard, right and Steve
got um All Star a few times because it was
voted in as like you know, the right. He never
made it any other way, no right, no family, and
you know it was it was kind of a Steve Francis. Yes,
Steve Francis used to rockets. Him and I played together,
(08:50):
so it was kind of hard for us. And at
the time, Um, I wasn't a DiAngelo Russell, you know,
coming into the NBA a first rounder kind of thing.
And you know a lot of these other young guys
that have this big hype when they come in. You know,
I was grinding, so me not making the All Star
early on, for me, it didn't bother me. It was
(09:11):
just like that people notice to me kind of thing.
So we all come in with different perspectives. But I
think for him, because he made the All Star team,
I want to start learning how to win for real,
right because I don't think Brooklyn kind of squeezed in
and then you have all these other guards what is
then witty and it's you know, yeah, and I have
all these guys that want to prove themselves as well.
(09:32):
They want to check too, So that can kind of
like tarnish your end goal as far as winning, because
last year it won't be like this next coming year.
It could be either better, it could be a lot worse,
and somebody can get hurt, where now you have to
put on the straps and like carry people on your
back and are you good enough or are is your
body holding up enough for you to be able to
(09:54):
do that? So so many circumstances, So I'd rather go
where I can learn how to win because I'm still
really which he is. And then like say, if I'm
with to Save, I'm with this hypothetically, If I'm with
the Lakers for the next four years, the worst thing
I don't make the All Star Right, I'm with Lebron James,
you know what I mean? You might if you win
a title or two that ups your stock too, exactly exactly,
(10:16):
And that's fair because look, if he's not in Brooklyn,
if they get Kyrie and he moves on, I don't
know who's giving him the max. But New York is
not maxing anybody. If they don't get Kadi or Kauhi,
they're not maxing anybody else. They're gonna try to, you know,
just build it, go young and you know, get some
players here and there. Uh So it might be the
(10:38):
best situation for D'Angelo. I've been to the being who
I was when I was younger. I should have left
earlier Houston. I should have left Houston earlier, or I
should have demanded other players to make Steve and I
become better because our back court was averaging forty points
(10:59):
on a regular right, we have we have a jactually
a triple double. Really, right, Yeah, I mean totally together.
So that's every day your guards in the backcourt is
giving you a triple double. Right, So right then and there,
it's like, all right, what else can we do? You
need the rebounders, you need the guys to give you
ex possessions so you can be able to work with
it more. And we were so immature at that young age.
(11:20):
We didn't really know how to how to build a team, right, right.
It was Carol Dawson's responsibility, and he was just doing
what's best at that time for us as an individual,
because you know, back then in the early two thousands,
it was a big man's game. It wasn't a guards
game like Steve and I are more of this generation
where we just first Lillard and exactly exactly. So if
(11:46):
we would have had those Ben Wallace's and Rashie Wallace's
with us, I mean, it would have been different. Because
now I, me and she even play the other super kids,
so I know how to play with those guys. And
when I was with Sacramento, I had Chris Webber and
Brad Miller, which was the easiest in the world because
I don't really have to dribble the ball, right all right,
So I mean, DeAngelo and a lot of these younger
(12:08):
guys gotta understand what's most important, right what what do
you do you think? My thinking is this, if you
get Kauai, no brainer, get him and just fill in
around him, Kyle Corver j R. Smith, whoever you have
to bring in. I wouldn't and I wouldn't frown on
getting Kyrie because we know he and Lebron can play together,
(12:30):
and you got ad Your big three is so good
that that you know it's not as important the depth.
I mean, it's important, but you know what I mean,
like you just deal with it outside of those two.
I wouldn't. If I don't get those two, I'm going
out and just building, getting a bunch of good round
I want a really good bench. Is there any other
(12:51):
Max guy or Jimmy Butler, Kimba Walker? We talked about
DeAngelo that you would go after and maxim at the
expense of the depth beyond Kauhi. I don't even know
if I honestly, I don't know if I do it
with Kyrie, you know. And the funny thing is this
Kyrie is like and no disrespect to Kyrie, but it's
just like he's become a his personality is kind of
(13:14):
like a shell of himself, and he's kind of like
an imagery ability. Yeah, do you know what I mean?
Like it's like, do you want to be Kobe? Want
to be Mike? You want to be Lebron? Do you
want to be this? As far as the way you
articulate and come out like, we know you're smart. Don't
overcompensate that, right right, don't show us every time? Yeah,
Like you don't have to be you don't have to
be Socrates, right right, right, you don't have to play
(13:37):
every People are looking at that. Yeah, Like there are
a lot of people around the league that feel like
even though Kyrie's better than Kimba Walker. Yeah that if
they're talking about teaming Kevin Durant with somebody, a lot
of them would rather do it with Kimba. Yeah, but
I don't even know, Like this is think Kimba Walker
has been playing for Charlotte this whole career, right, so
(13:57):
you don't really know how much of a winner and
on the end be a level he really is. He
shows you, but he's smaller. I think they made to playoffs,
but out Kyrie, before Lebron got there, you were a loser,
and since you've been without Lebron, you've passed through. Yes
to think again. Like I said, I think Kyrie's better.
But if Kyrie had never teamed up with Lebron, would
(14:18):
we think that much differently of him than we do
with Kimba? That's my point. So winner that UKN team
he drugged all the way to the championship, when Kimba
and all the it looks like he's going to Boston
because I know Charlotte's not gonna MAXI round, and they shouldn't.
I don't think you can make the lottery without him.
I like him, but Boston that will be better. He'll
(14:41):
fit in with no ego. Watch No, that's a good one.
All right, We're gonna let you weigh in. We want
to get back to the Lakers with you. What do
you think they should do? The big news is now
they have max cap room. What do you think they
should do with it? Go after Kauai, go after Kyrie.
You use it to build around though the Anthony Davis
(15:02):
and Lebron and just add a group of role players.
You're turned away In eight seven seven ninety nine on

you go. It is the Eye Couple of Chris Bruce
(15:47):
Sorry and Coatino Mobley, nine year NBA veteran IF for
Rob Parker. We've got great news for you. There's a
quick and an easy way that you could save money.
Switch the guy code. It only takes fifteen minutes to
see if you could say fifteen percent or more on
your car insurance. Go to Geico dot com and see
how much you can save. All right, we opened up
(16:07):
the phone lines, do you guys? Eight seven seven ninety
nine on Fox. How should the Lakers spend their max money?
Let's start with Paul Paul in Tampa Bay. Paul, you're
on with Chris and Gatino. Hey, what's up, guys, A
great show. Listen, not much. I called a couple of months,
you know, about a month ago, and let's be honest,
as a Laker fan, it was a dumpster fire happening.
(16:29):
But I'm gonna be honest, last two weeks, with the
addition of getting ad, you gotta be pretty happy for
a Laker fan. But today this is a big move
for Lakers because I didn't think they were gonna be
able to move this cap space up. But let's say
they don't get Irving or they don't get Leonard. I
don't think they're gonna get either one of those guys.
Maybe they do, but I don't think they will. What
about baby grabbing. Let's say they don't get those two guys,
(16:50):
and I keep hearing Ope, you know they're gonna go
out and get you know, three or four guys like
you know, a JJ Rex like that. But what about
a guy like Malcolm Roden for the bucks? I mean,
I'm not sure i'd pay him twenty five. I mean, well,
I think he's a two requirer. Well, first of all,
Milwaukee's gonna do what it can't has to do to
bring him back, and I just don't think financially down
(17:12):
to work certainly, you know, don't max him. And I
don't know if you're gonna pay Russell, Chris, if you're
gonna pay Russell, say twenty four to twenty five million years, D'Angelo.
I'd rather have Broaden. If you say Malcolm, you call
Malcolm up funny then going hey, listen, you want to
be a Laker? I don't know. I mean, Caker Milwaukee
have the last thing in that deal. Do they have
the bottle day on that deal? I don't, you know,
(17:34):
it's Katino. I don't think. I like Malcolm and he's
very solid, but twenty five million dollars is not. That's
not him yet. He's got to prove war to me.
And you were injured this year, you know what I mean?
Like I don't, I don't. You're what are you doing?
Let's go to Jonathan in Orlando. Jonathan, you're on with
Chris and Katino? Hey, what's going on? Guy? What's up? Man?
(17:57):
All right? Um? If I'm the Lakers, the only one
in our offer that max two is Kawhi. I went
off of the Max to Kyrie, Butler Kimber, not a
little guys, only Kawhi. And if they can't get Kawhi,
I would just trying to get a bunch of good,
solid shooters and defenders to go with Lebron, A d
and Kuzma. Yeah, I'm not mad at that. I've said
(18:19):
that myself on the air again. If they get Kyrie,
I'm not gonna hate it because we've seen Lebron and
Kyrie already and continue I'm throwing this out and we'll
get to this later in the show. If they were
to get whether it's Kawhi or Kyrie, I think Lebron
would need to look at this these last few years
of his career and say, I'm gonna be Magic Johnson
(18:42):
for a fact, right, Like, we don't need him leading
the team and scoring if I've got Kyrie, because one
of them is gonna have to step back. It's not
gonna be Kyrie or a Lebrun's. You know. The funny
thing is is, uh, Lebron, It's very capable of doing that,
no question. That's just like the same thing and still
dominating the game exactly. And it's not like listen, I
know we're talking about the Lakers, but it's kind of
(19:03):
like Russell Westbrook if he just come in and like,
you know what, I don't need to score twenty. I
don't even need to shoot that much. But my tempo
and meet fishing at ball and be having that energy,
meet ten ten and ten we are, I think their
team will be that much better. Yeah, that's no, there's
there's only a few guys that can dominate without scoring,
no question. No, let's go to Austin and Washington. Austin,
(19:25):
you're on with Chris and Gatino. Hey, guys, happy to
be arms and trying to get through for a while,
big fan, Thank you. Your last caller just stole me.
He stole what I was gonna say. The only person
that you pay that money to is Kawiet's playing and simple.
Kyrie was never a proven winner before Lebron, and though
they might pair nicely, Ad is not going to take
(19:47):
a step back. So the only way you do that is,
just like you said, you turn Lebron James into a
Magic Johnson. You bring in Kawahiett a small forward position. Otherwise,
go out get three Indeed, guys that have been the
there's a plenty of them out there there. Tier B,
tier C guys. Get three or four of those guys
that can get you to the playoffs while while being
(20:08):
able to manage the playing time of Anthony Davis and
Lebron James. Then come playoff time, you turn it on
and you make that run for the championship, while the
Golden State is gonna have to take a step back
this year. So so you're saying, do what Toronto Raptors did, right,
I'm just gonna say, we see how important depth is
to win the title exactly. That's their blueprint. Let's go
(20:29):
to Marty in Kentucky. You're own with Chris and Katino. Hey, Christino,
guys are two of my very favorite Oh thanks, thank you,
my man. I'm miss Robin. I'd like to hear you
guys argue. But when I heard in the show, I thought,
the smart guys, they're just they're going to agree on everything.
We do agree on the lot. I'm like, Ony, um, obviously,
(20:59):
if you can get if you can hit Kauai, you
know that's obvious. Um, I would consider Kimba too mean.
And I'm probably not one of the few to say this,
but I just believe in Kimba. I believe in the guy,
and I haven't and we haven't seen him with all
stars around him, and I think he's a lot better
than he gets credit for. I would at least consider it.
But if if you can't get either one of those,
(21:20):
for sure, I would try to find some you know,
solid shooters that that are solid defenders, maybe not lockdown defenders,
but guys that understand team defense to give effort on defense,
that will know how to playoff of ads, dynamic defense,
Guys that will that cannot be on open shots and
won't hurt you on defense. Makes sense? Would you max
(21:41):
Kimba Katina? You know what I think Kimba, because he
has been in such a kind of weird situation with
Charlotte and being a winner that he is, I think
Kimba will take a backseat, kind of like the Miami
Heat when Lebron and Bosh and you know, in the Wayne,
(22:01):
I think he will take a little bit less so
he can come and eat no money, a little bit less, right,
you don't have to max him out, but a little
bit less that twenties, the late twenties kind of thing
for him, because now when Lebron leads. You still have
a d with you, you know what I mean, and
then you can get a shooter or whatever it is
to come in. But to your point earlier, if he
can go to Boston and they'll max him, yeah, or
(22:22):
the Lakers and they won't, I would go to Boston, yeah,
because he's gonna be They're gonna be in the playoffs
for sure, gonna make the playoffs. They're gonna be in
the I think if he's there, I wouldn't pick him
to win the East, but they'll be in that hunt.
There'll be one of those top fourteen. Yeah, especially if
Kawhi leaves. Yeah. Yeah, So all right, the Lakers want Kauhi,
But does Kauhi want the Lakers? Yahoo Sports and FS
(22:44):
one NBA insider Chris Haynes has the inside scoop and
he joins us next. But first let's get to David
Gascon for the Latest in Sports. David Man, that guess man, gentlemen,
we'll talk with the Lakers right now, because obviously they
made a big splash today sitting three players and also
a draft pick to the Washington Wizards. That draft pick
happens in twenty twenty two, but they send more Wagner
(23:05):
along the way as well. It's all part of the
Anthony Davis deal with the New Orleans Pelicans, a three
team transaction. It does open up thirty two million dollars,
so a lot of bang for the Lakers. Now to
make a big splash for a free agency, they could
sign a max player. Now, moving on to Women's World
Cup action that happened today on FS one, former press
(23:27):
Chasetuna again I'm stoppable. This World Cop has more of
a cherry on top. Three nil was a score England
beating Norway. They advanced the semi finals of the Women's
World Cup. Action. They get the winner of France to the
the United States, which will take place tomorrow only on Fox.
Major League Baseball, it's a tiresome day. Tampa Bay Minnesota
played two games so far in one affair. They're in
(23:50):
the top of the eighteenth inning in Minnesota raised at
the bases juice. At least they did one man out
right now it's two two red Al Minnesota and Tampa Bay.
Other games that are happening, or at least happened. Philly's
walked off and the met six to three was the final.
Pittsburgh demolish Houston again. Ten nothing was the final Cubbies
take care of the Braves. Nine to seven was the
(24:10):
Brewers deubitely up the Mariners by a score of four
to two. Just underway from Miami Marlins and Nationals. There
is no score back to the odd couple in just
ten seconds. But first a word from farmers at Farmers Insurance.
We know a roof can withstand a lot, one exception
being an airborne car. Seeen it covered it, doctor Farmers.
(24:31):
We are farmers underwritten. My farmers took fire insurance exchanges
that affiliates products unavailable in every state. And guys, one
other note for our good buddy, Rob Parker. General manager
Bryan Cashman the Yankees said today that he expects John
Carlos Stanton to return the lineup at some point in August.
We announced, we announced yesterday. They has a PCL strains.
So team no matter what, still continues to win. But
(24:54):
they do keep winning no matter who is healthy. It's
pretty impressive. But I do like seeing the big names,
no doubt. You know baseball needs that, all right. It's
the eye couple Chris and Cotino that has a nice
ring to it too. I noticed that saying only cause
Chris and Cotino that flows smoothing. We're coming to you
live from the Geico Fox Sports Radio studios. It is
(25:14):
easy to say fifteen percent or more in your car
insurance with Geico. Go to Geico dot com or call
eight hundred nine four seven Auto. The only hard part
is figuring out which way is easier. We got our
man in. He's a Yahoo Sports senior, NBA insider FS
one NBA analyst, Chris Haynes. What's happening, brother? Is he there? Rich? Chris?
(25:38):
Chris Chris on the air? We got okay, Well, we
will get to him in a few minutes, but we're
talking Cotino off the air. When you have a big three,
like here's how I look at big threes that can work.
You either need a point guard like a Magic Johnson,
who's who's looking to distribute first, or you need three
(26:02):
guys toward the end of their primes and all of
them stepped back like the Boston vic three, Ray, Allen,
Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett, they all, you know, their numbers
all came down across the board and they played differently too,
though they played picking pop. Ray was running around crazy,
and then Paul was the ice soul close the game
out right, right, So those those pieces fit together, and
(26:25):
I thinking Golden State Clay just is catching shooting. He
didn't even need to dribble the ball. So outside of that,
somebody's got to step out. And that's why Lebron a
d and whoever they get, you'd have to work it out.
That's why I say Lebron should play more like magic.
All right, let's get in Chris Haynes, y'all who senior
sports NBA insider FS one NBA analyst. Chris, what's happening? Man?
(26:51):
That's going on? We gotta know you busy, so we
appreciate you taking this time to spend with it. So
all right, what is the latest? Do we know the
Lakers have clear maximum cap room? Now? Is there a
free agent out there that you think is the most
likely or likely to sign with them in that max room?
(27:14):
That's a tough one. See do you hit me with
You're hitting me with a tough one right on the back,
first quarterback? Don't don't they don't they teach you to
work it in slowly, like like throw a softball. No,
you know, honestly, got you know, I'm gonna be real,
(27:36):
like when you're when you're thinking about the top Markey
freetage out there, you know, kde Uh, Kyrie Kawhi, Jimmy Butler,
you don't. They're still not a direct tie to the Lakers,
right with those guys. There's not even with the clearing
up the cap, you know, the Max Cup space. Now
you know kimber Walker might have been that guy, but
(27:58):
like he's headed to Boston. So if you're asking me,
like you know, the best case scenario, I think somebody
like DeAngelo Russell who he is, you know, who does
have interest him in return to La I think that
would be a good fit. Um. But if you're thinking that,
if you if if people are expecting, you know, to
(28:19):
be one of those top five Marquis Friggs and you
know this market, I still have a hard time thinking
the Lakers are gonna snatch one of them. Yeah, you know,
I it's it's funny you say that because I'd like
DeAngelo Okay, but it's just like it's his motor there,
right for Yeah, you made the All Star team and
(28:40):
you did pretty well with Brooklyn, but now you're in
a different dynamic, right, you're with Lebron James, who's gonna
be controlling the ball a lot more? Uh, you facilitated
in Brooklyn. Right, you have a d who's you know,
the best big in the league arguably, Right. So I
just don't know. I just don't trust, you know, Chris
(29:00):
was saying earlier we were talking about Boston. Right, you
think about reality and think about Rondo, you think about Paul,
you think about kag A lot of those guys were
already veterans, right, They didn't really they prove, but they
know how to win. I'm not San di'angelo don't know
how to win. But I just there's moments where he's
kind of like cool, you know what I mean? Like,
(29:21):
I just don't I don't see that the way I
see a day I see Lebron. I don't see him
messing with that because it's gonna be days where if
he don't get that ball, he's more of a rhythm guy.
If you don't get that ball, there's rhythm is gonna
be off. So how your attitude is gonna be and
can you play without the ball? Right? I know Steph
and I know Steph Kurrykin, I know Clay Thompson, Kin,
I know, realit, Kin, I know certain guys can play
(29:42):
without the ball, Korver and you guys like that without
the ball. I just don't know if you're that guy
because you're not Kyrie, like you're gonna is so close
out games, Like, I don't know if you're that person.
I don't know, but I just don't. I'd rather for me,
I'd rather And you tell, but you think I'd rather
Kimba because I know it's just something about Kimber. It's
(30:04):
like a leader. He's like a he'll do anything possible.
You know, even if he's small, he's still defending, he's
still doing things without the ball that that poses an
impact on the game. What do you think, Well, you know,
those those concerns that you have for DeAngelo, those are
the same concerns Wuper had about Kyrie before Lebron went
back over there, and and and and look at the
(30:26):
same they had the same concerns about a d is
he is he a winner? Why is he not? You know,
why is he not? Uh getting the Pelicans out, you know,
out of the first round, the second round, So those
conservats are going to be there. But I think the
only difference that de'angelo, you know, you brought up chamber. Look,
Deando can play on and off the ball. You know,
he's a he's a good catch, you know, catch and
(30:48):
shoot player. And you know these is that found continue
I know, you know and s being you know as well,
like catching and shooting. It's difficult for guys who are
used to have of the ball. They get the rhythm,
they like to check that triple Yeah, chops out. Steve
frances was he was it was hard for them to
catch it and just shoot the ball. Yeah, dead wucking
(31:12):
do that. And then the difference is is that was Kyrie.
Kyrie was already on clue money. The bar came over
to Kyrie had to just now for a guy that's
coming up as a free agent, like he knows roll
like you, you're gonna know the pecking order, You're gonna
know where you're gonna get your shots, how you're gonna
fell in. So if you come over there, you expect
it to at here to what's going on. And so
(31:35):
I think that that's, you know, I think that's the
best case scenario free agent out there. Continuo. I mean
when we look at everybody else who's not who's out there.
You know, you mentioned Kimber, but you know, look like
Kimber is he's all but found that contract with Boston.
So it's like, you can't be picky right now, you know.
I mean, you get the pieces, the fit and hopefully
they can jail and getting the training camp and bringing
(31:57):
some more complementing players around them. Man, it's trying to
make that thing go. Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports is
joining the Eye couple. Okay with k D? Where what's
what's the latest on him possibly staying in Golden State
going to New York or is it is it looking
heavily like Brooklyn with Kyrie? Oh? Look, still with KD.
(32:21):
I still think, you know, I think he'll meet with
a few teams. Uh. They're still trying to figure that
out right now. They're trying to buckle down and figure
out their process. Uh. But you know, I believe they're
going to meet with a few teams, And I think
I think this is my personal opinion, guys. I think
at the end of the day, I think it's a
ball down to the Golden State Wars and the next
(32:42):
I think the booklets will be in Yeah, I really do.
I think the Brooklyn Nets will be in play. Uh,
was Kyrie you know, in a similar situation with Kim
bugs seemed like he, you know, you've done everything but
Finn on the diet line. I think that's going to
help help, you know, attractive, you know, appeal to KD.
But I still think it's it's hard for me believe
(33:03):
because all seasons I've been hearing New York, New York,
New York, and I knew Golden Statement was going to
be in play. It's hard for me to believe, you know.
After just a couple of weeks now he shifted to
Brooklyn being the primary option. Yeah, I think when it's
offering done, it'll be those two. Do you think that
note like going to New York by yourself with no
second star, at least initially, and the uncertainty of coming
(33:27):
off this serious injury. How much of a deterrent would
that be or is that to KD? I don't think
it's a deterrent because look, he's basically punting that year
anybody for rehab, and so you can you can essentially
do the same thing that the Lakers did where they
got Lebron the first year that they went out and
got a D and somebody else and so you know,
(33:50):
securing KD is the first objective obelishy for the York
and then you know you're investing, you know, getting him
the best rehab and making sure he's right, and then
you could do you got a hold of year to
plant out a strategy of who you're going to bring
in the following year, uh, you know, any other stars,
and then you kind of feel around there so you
(34:11):
know there's no need for right now for Katie to
go anywhere with the star right now for these not
you know, he's not going to play, And so I
think that I don't think it's a deterrent to as
as you question just now, Yeah, it's it's it's funny. Um,
I don't know. New York is a is a tough place,
(34:31):
tough place to be, right and when you when you
have an injury and say you signed with the Knicks,
I just don't know mentally if k D or anybody
uh is ready for that kind of feedback right while
you're sitting there waiting in New York and then not
knowing if someone else is don't come because you gotta
(34:52):
think about it. Jim Dolan is still the owner right there,
there's there's chaos there, right. And and then to me,
people that can turn around franchises like Lebron James out
there in the world. Right. So not saying that Katy's,
you know, not that guy, but it's just coming off
a devastating injury and then waiting a year and then
(35:13):
hoping when you get back, you have to get yourself
back into form mentally right to push off and do
this and do that. I just thought, I don't if
I was him, I would stay with Golden State, right
and then just you know, forget what people are saying.
But you know, even me, forget what I'm saying, forget
what you know Chris said, forget us. Just simon, Golden State.
(35:34):
You got Stephan Curry, you have Clay Times, you have
Draymond Green, and you run it back two years from now,
you know, and get the best you know rehab you
can out there. That's just my Yeah, I think I
think the Golden State is becoming a better option with Chris.
How we've seen reports that there's a lot of issues
with him in Golden State now and the beef. Is
(35:55):
it too bad for him to go back or you
think that's just completely overblown. Yeah, I've never I haven't
been able to collaberate that. It was just that bad,
like it was pissed off. And I think Steve Kurt
came about to do the podcast, I think Team Color
callit you in the Bay Area. You know, he said
there's no bad blood between the two sides. Uh, So
I don't. I don't want to, you know, dismiss somebody
(36:17):
else's report. And I just haven't been of a cooperate that.
But I'll say I'll say this, I go to State
is still an option obviously the way things ended last year. Uh,
you know, there needs to be you know, they need
to sit in the room and and talk that thing out,
past that thing out, because I'm pretty sure that hasn't
happened you know, as you yet. But with all that
(36:38):
being fair, Yeah, I mean, look, if if it's all
about you guys are talking about it from a basketball standpoint,
what makes sense what he should do? And I get
that for sure, Like why why would you leave this team?
It's clear that you know this team needed him, you know,
if they if he's a back to back finals VP,
if he's not on that team, I don't get to
go and say, wars within those two championships, you see
(36:59):
what you what they were without them, So that that's it,
but a different, different cat Chrise. You can't say that, Chris,
you can't say that. You can't see what they see
what they were without them. Everybody was into the walk
and breed it. Okay, but I was gonna let I
got your back. We had to to do this. Now
we don't have time to get into it, Chris. But
(37:22):
now you bro now we here you all right, my man?
Thanks a lot, Good luck with all this man this weekend. Yeah,
I take care. We got more of the Eye Couple.
We Contino mobili and for Rob Parker coming up. Keep
it locked Fox Sports Radio. Be sure to catch live
editions of The Odd Couple with Chris Broussard and Rob
Parker week days at seven pm Eastern, four pm Pacific.
(37:44):
At Farmers Insurance, we know the sound of a perfect
hot air balloon landing and a Leston perfect one sheet
covered it. Talk to farmers. We are farmers underwritten my
Farmers truck Fire Insurance exchanges and affiliates products unavailable in
every state. It is The Odd Couple. Chris Bruce are
Contino mobile is in for Rod Parker. We brought to
(38:06):
you by Truecar Shopping. He bringing in wasn't the last
one the Cosby Show too, Nainfeld, Right, okay, but anyway,
car shopping could be confused in terms like dealer, price list,
price invoice. Truecar, however, shows you what other people pay
for the car you want. That way you can recognize
a good price from a bad price. So when you're
(38:26):
ready to buy a new or even a used car,
visit Truecar and enjoy more confident car buying experience. All right, Contino,
We just had Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports on and
talk to him about Kevin Durant. I am beginning to
think this if Kevin Durant is not because I'm not
sure he goes to Brooklyn with Kyrie. I've talked to
people in the league who think, you know, some of
(38:48):
why he would want to leave Golden State is the
narrative that you know you can lead you on team.
You're not just a front runner or whatever, You're a leader.
Some people around the league would look at that as
you're following Kyrie, you know, and so that might not
dispel that whole myth. New York there's a risk in
going there by yourself with nobody else because in New
(39:09):
York they're gonna expect the championship and you don't even
know for sure if you're gonna be the same Kevin
duran You're still gonna be great, I bet, but will
you be exactly the same k d you are now?
So I think that's why Golden State looks good. Man.
When you come back, you're gonna have help. You have help.
You have some of the best to ever play the game,
to ever shoot the ball. Things like that, Like I
(39:31):
don't listen. Like I said before, forget me, forget you,
forget all these other people out there. I just want
you to challenge yourself. I just wanted you to challenge yourself,
right because you're going to Golden State. It's a luxury
to me. That's just why you can say both think
they would have won it if Playtimes you put somebody, Yeah,
I play Times stays healthy. I mean they would have
(39:51):
still gave Toronto a problem. But I mean that wasn't
the case. But at the end of the day, as
good as Kevin Durant is, I love him. I think
he's the best offensive score ever to play the game
because he can do so much as seven feet tall,
but it's still it's still a problem like him going
to the Brooklyn's and New York's of the world. That media,
those people. The organization's not saying they're battle organizations, but
(40:13):
that's not Golden States organization. It's not the players that
you have in Golden State where even if you trying
to get yourself back, you mean, it's too much pressure, right,
you would say, do what Steph Kurry, Klay Thompson, Jerymond Green,
They're gonna help you get yourselflf back. And here's the
other thing, Contina, what if and this is this is
very possible. Clay comes back with two months left in
(40:35):
the regular seas works himself back into what looks like
top form. But still they get so they play in
the playoffs next year with Clay and say they go
out in the second round, right, which is real possible.
Now when Katie comes back, nobody's looking at it like
as in the past, like, well, they don't really need you.
That would have been two years they didn't win it
without you, And to some degree that narrative is certainly lessened,
(40:59):
right if not, you know, Alano did it will ever
go away totally, but it's lessened and man, you can
win end up with four or five titles here, and
that's what I would do. It's the eye couple, Chris
Brusacatino Mobili and for Rob Parker. Keep it locked. Foxmores Radio.
Tip it all off in the NBA because the Lakers
made a move today setting three players and also a
draft pick in twenty twenty two to the Washington Wizards.
(41:22):
It's all a part of the grand scheme of things
to land Anthony Davis set deal. It's a three team
deal with the Pelicans involved as well. It opens up
thirty two million dollars in cat space for Los Angeles.
So what does that all? I mean they could sign
a max player on where we go to Major League
Baseball and a fair that lasted five hours, forty six minutes,
forty two minutes. So it actually just ended in Minnesota
(41:43):
with the road team from Tampa Bay winning it five
to two. On their games going on right now, Nashville's
trailing the Marlins on the road three nothing. Steven Strasburg
give up a couple runs so far on that one,
two of them earned. Phileas walked off and the Mets
by a score of six to three. Women's World Cup
action today saw Jill Scott score the game winning gold
in the third minute. England dump Norway to advance the
(42:04):
semifinals three nil um divid couscon it is the I
couple with a twist. As you heard Katino mobili in
for Roy Parker, I'm Chris Brussar. We're coming you live
from the Geico Fox Sports Radio studios. Fifteen minutes could
save you fifteen percent or more on your car insurance.
(42:25):
Visit Geico dot com for a free raid quote. We're
entering huge news week for the NBA with the free
agency coming up, and we just left a huge newsweek
for the NBA. Out of course, was the NBA Draft,
and the big story there was number one pick, Zion Williamson.
Some people have compared him to Lebron James, some people
(42:49):
have compared him to Charles Barkley, Larry Johns. I mean,
he's getting comparisons all around, but in this Canterer gave
a comparison re sent ly on the Herd and he
compared him to Julius Randall, who, at this point, four
years into his career, has not been an All Star
(43:09):
or anything like that. Pretty emerging into a pretty good
player though. But in it said that he believes Zion
Williamson is Julius Randall with hops. And he's not the
first one to say that. I think the first one
to say that is sitting right next to me. You
you agree within this, and you you said it before
he did. Yeah, I was on the herd and I
(43:30):
said it, and it was no disrespect to the kid.
But right now it's just like, I mean, what can
he do better than Blake Griffin? What can he do
better than Larry Johnson? At this point, you know he
ain't a good shooter. He can probably shoot better than Blake. Yeah,
but Blake's had formed. He just didn't shoot because he
was coached by his father and bailing people out. Shooting
for so deep wasn't a thing. Now you think about
(43:51):
the Blake's been in the league how many years? Right,
So now it's more so you want bigs to shoot
the ball, and he is shooting, right. So Blake came
in more so the telling of big men, where it's
like dominate down low and dunk on people. So I
was with Blake when his first couple of years when
I had, you know, kind of tell break, like, listen,
when you get the ball, shoot the ball. You're you're
(44:11):
not hurting the team and you're not building people out.
This is something you have to do to stretch the
defense and improve your offense. Right, So I mean for Zion,
I mean, he's just an evolution of Blake and them, where, Okay,
I can shoot the three, doesn't look as pretty. My
form's not bad. I can get better at it. But
(44:32):
how much better are you than the Larry Johnson's and
the Blakeson and Charles Barkley's. I don't know, Like everybody's
off potential, right, It's like it's like being the twenty
more year old girl. She's the pretty the skins tight
and she's beautiful and blah blah blah, Like I want
to see you when you get in there, right, the
real life. There you go. I like them women, you
know what I mean, That's what I like. Well, you know, look,
(44:54):
I've compared Zion to Charles bur I think he's like
a new age version of Charles b Bley, right, and
I do like him a lot, like I think obviously
the jump shot knees work. I love him, but I
love he can improve. I love him. I think we
know he's got the intangibles. He works hard. At this point,
he's playing defense with a lot of young guys with
(45:15):
that type of skill offensively don't do. And I think
in today's NBA, where the floor is spread out more
than ever, he's got that quick first step. He should
be able to get to the cup and finish over
just about everybody in the league. So I and you
know what else I like about him, Contino, At least
at Duke, he showed he can be effective off the ball,
(45:37):
which is rare for the best young players nowadays. They
usually have to have the ball in their hands. So
he got twenty two and nine playing off the ball
when RJ. Barrett and Trey Jones were dominating the basketball.
So I think that will enable him to fit in
well with guys I certainly don't see Lebron James, but
I think he'll be a very good player. And here's
(45:57):
the thing about the Julie's Randall comparison. That's not how
much of an insult is that, But that's what I
was about to say Julius could blossom into He came
after one year at Kentucky. He averaged twenty one and
what nine this year? That's what I'm saying, right, Like,
it's not a bad comparison. And Jewish Randall's really good.
You just don't have ups and hops like like Zaion. Right,
(46:20):
But don't get it twisted, Julius rand It's not it's
not easy to be averaging twenty one twenty points. It's
not easy that average fifteen points in the NBA. Right,
this man average twenty one points, nine rebounds and three assists.
I'm like, that's not disrespect right, Juwis Randall's really good,
you know what I'm saying. So for people to think that, oh,
you can't do respect, No, you're disrespecting Julius Randall because
(46:42):
Jeue Randall could go you know what I mean? Right,
So what do you think because obviously some people are
saying that he's gonna be a superstar. Uh look, and
I'm I said, he's not gonna be Lebron James. I
don't care how good he is. I don't see him
becoming a Lebron James. I don't see him be coming
to Kevin Durant. It's only two people like that ever,
and that's Magic Johnson, right, right, and I don't see
(47:06):
him playing that statue. Even if he plays a different style,
he's not gonna be of that that statue. So I
don't see top ten player of all time. I do
think he could be the best player on maybe a
championship team, but the other guys gotta be really good
and fit in, you know, fit in with him. Uh.
So I like him a lot. I think he's going
(47:27):
into a really good situation. I think he's going in
the best situation because I was just playing with Melo
LaMelo ball when I tell you I love this kid.
I loved his brother first, Okay, so I love like him.
I love I love Zoe because Zoe. You think about
what's Zoe surrounded around? Right, It's gonna be up tempo. Yeah,
you know what I mean. He's got a lot of flyers,
he's got a lot of scores, and he's gonna do
(47:49):
that's his nature to be able to push that ball,
of advance the ball, play defense, do his thing. I
love Zoe and what Zion. It's like it's like Blake
Griffith coming into the league with Chris Paul, Right, so
now you don't really have to do much but just
jump up in the air and dunk that day. You
know what I mean, You can fine tune your game
slowly because you have everybody else that's around you, you
(48:13):
know what I mean, Like the Drew Holidays of the world.
Who's amazing, right, that's going to take the pressure off
you to have to score twenty points a game all
at the rookie year in your second year. I like
him with them, and I like that Zoe and Drew
are there because now you got a backcourt that both
play defense, both will pass the ball, and it's gonna
(48:34):
get you in the game without you forcing it. What
will they need now? I don't know if they're gonna
be able to do this. I love the notion of
going to get Al Horford as that fifth start, that
starting center, with Zion and Brandon Ingram on the wings.
What what do you How do you think Brandon Ingram
fits into this? Because the backcourt I do agree with.
I think that will be a nice backcourt. How does
(48:55):
Ingram fit in because he does kind of need the ball? Yeah,
I think Ingram, this changes scenery for him. I just think,
you know, I kind of I look at it like
a lot of guys where come to the psychological perspective
of how they thinking, you know, on and off the court.
I'm not I've haven't been around Brandon Ingram off the court,
but just watching his body language and who he was
on the court, it didn't seem like he was really
in love with being with the Lakers to me. You know, so,
(49:18):
I think this new change of scenery and them being
able to be themselves with no pressure of those banners
hanging up and the title of being a Laker and
all that, I think New Orleans will give him more
of a kind of a new birth kind of thing.
And then if you get how Horford you think about this, Chris,
if you get out of Horford, it's teaching those young
guys how to be a professional. How Horford is the
(49:40):
epitome if we're in professional He's ridiculous with him right.
So now, Zion Julius Brandon, you know, now you're like, Wow,
you got Drew Holiday for Zoe. This is how you
become a professional. And now and I see them winning faster.
Let me ask you this about Zoe, and I love him,
you know, moving the of court, you know that that's
(50:01):
a that's a forgotten that brother, his brother is amazing.
I was at the Drew this weekend and I watched this.
But the thing now, Alvin Gentry is kind of a
Mike D'Antoni type offensive coach disciple offensively. D'Antoni, of course,
likes point guards that drip, you know, dribble a lot
high pick and roll that I don't believe is Linzo's game.
(50:27):
I think I like that he advances the ball quick,
but he also I think there's times where he needs
to pat it more make something happen. For a fact,
do you so, how do you see that working? Does
Alvin Gentry adapt the offense or does Linzo have to
learn that stuff? How do you see that fitting? And
I think he can adapt. That's a great point. I
think he can adapt because one thing I've seen, and
(50:48):
I'm gonna keep saying this about LaMelo is he's willing
to learn. And I think with both of them play
just like they advanced the ball fast, and sometimes it's
it's it's your achilles right because you want to be
able to control the game and control like I was
telling him, like game go to seven at UCLA and
we were down three one and we lost the game
seven six or seven five, so I told him after
(51:11):
the game, him said, listen, when it's down three one,
you gotta think about that being the third quarter going
to the fourth. I need you to control the game
a little more. So hold the ball, don't give it
to this person, give it to this so we can score,
stop momentum things like that. And he was like, oh, okay,
got you og you know. And that was Lamello. So
you know, with Alvin Gentry there and Drew there, I
think you know, they will push him more to like
(51:31):
be more forceful and more controlling when it comes to
the ball and decision making like a rondo right at
Jason Kidd, you know what I mean, where the Cerebrial
being cerebrial and and understanding how to win, to advance
it and win to say we'll hold on Brandon, will
hold on Julius or if he's there, or hold on Zion.
We got something else going on right now, but I'm
(51:53):
still feed y'all. But right now, you know what I mean,
this is what we're gonna do, right And I think
Alvin Dnci is gonna do that because him being he
was with Golden State. Yeah, yeah, so I mean he
saw the Draymond greens and all those guys passing the
ball and sometimes holding it and waiting until the half
court offense. So I think I think he'll be Okay,
what do you so, what do you expect this year
from Zion? You know, I don't. I mean, I think
(52:17):
in his sleep he'll get ten and ten. I think
in his sleep because he's people. Well, if he gets
ten and ten, that's that's not bad because it's ten rebeat. Yeah,
do you think about it like people are gonna be
disappointed if it's ten points? Well, not mean, but they
make the playoffs, he won't. Right, if they make the
playoffs and do pretty well, they ain't men the playoffs.
And yeah, you still got truecause Zoe still got to
(52:37):
prove itself, Brandon's got to prove itself. You got guys
proving themselves. So that's gonna be the conflict unless they
come as a team and say, listen, everybody needs to
don't worry about the points. Let's let's worry about each
game and improving. If you know, if Alvin Gentry gets
those guys thinking like that, I wouldn't be upset if
he gives me that fifteen and ten. You know, that's
(52:58):
different fifteen and ten and ten. Yeah, I'm just saying ten, Tim,
But I'm just saying, but you're just a fit. Simple
fact that you have all the scores, You still got
true Holiday, you still have you know, brandon Ingram, you
know what I mean. You have Josh Shark come up
the bench. You have Jewish Randall ain't given away yet,
So I mean, I don't you know, he's still average
twenty one. Yeah, and I think he'll I think they
I don't think they'll bring back Julius. But yeah, well
(53:20):
here's the thing on that comparison, and I'm with you
in that, Let's see what Julius becomes. Because heck, I
mean Yannis who was just the MVP. We saw how
he developed over the years. There are people that that
developed slowly like that. Chauncey Billups is another way. Times right,
we could go on and knowing, so let's see what
(53:41):
Julius becomes. He's shown steps that he could be become
a great player. But that said, if we're saying he's
Julius Randall with hops, if Zion is not Julish Randalls,
this will be his fifth year. I think he hasn't
been an All star yet if Zion hasn't been an
All Star in his first four years, that's the Discipplintion.
You know why it's different because it's it's like the
(54:04):
pretty game. No, yeah, yeah, yeah, there you go. Right,
It's like Steve Francis who was amazing, but he was
voted in by the fans, not by the coaches. So
he's gonna be voted in by the fans. He's although
the West though, he's gonna be a forward, right, so
the West he won't get because they will be vote Lebron. Well,
Kadi's gone. Well they opending on how many times he
(54:26):
dunked that ball on people and you a sting. They
will push his behind up there because that's ratings, right
you you you want to be able to do that,
you know, as well as Vince did his rookie year.
You know what I mean? Like the fans like, yo,
we want him in. Yeah, so you gotta you gotta
listen to the fans. Yeah yeah, so Zion, So you
that's what you Zion. He's Julie's Ramda with hops hops Yeah.
(54:47):
So is he a superstar? Is he gonna be a superstar?
I think so? I think since personality is hard work. Uh,
you know his ability and you know and again potential
is not a bad thing, right because he can improve.
So I think, you know, with him proving his jump shot,
decision making handles, I think it'll be fine seven years
from now. Is he the best player out of this draft? No? Really,
(55:10):
John Mornt my guy if he don't get hurt. John Mornt.
I like John. I like him. I mean, that's a
point guard. And I want to hear what you think
on this because people have been comparing him to Westbrook,
which I think is crazy. That the athleticism, of course,
but when I look at John, I see a true
(55:30):
point guard. I see a guy with courtel bone, cold
true point guard, totally different from west Westbrook's ability. Right,
So I don't know why where people getting Westbrook is
made into a point Yeah he's he's a natural. Yeah,
he's a natural, phenomenal, phenome athlete. But all right, what
do you think what will Zion Williamson end up becoming
(55:52):
in the NBA eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox
A seven seven nine nine six sixty three sixty nine.

(56:38):
in this TV theme show Thursday, Save by the Bell,
DJ Tyson. That's a good one. That's a good one. Yeah,
that's one of the classings. Man. Yes, yes, all right, yeah,
you didn't even know about good times and what's happening.
Don't say that's a classic? What you mean? I can't generalize.
That was a little that's a little too, but I mean,
(57:00):
you guys, have you I would consider like the movie
Pirates of Caribbean a classic because I was in my
age group of growing up. First of all, I didn't
even see it, so wo the word classic and Pirates
of the Caribbean. I did never put those two ks.
I that I never put those two together. But all right,
that's all eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox eight seven,
(57:26):
seven nine nine six sixty three sixty nine, You'll Turn
the Way in How good do you think Zion Williamson
will be in the NBA? Coatino said, he's Julius Randall
with hops Ryan and Texas. You own with Chris and Contino?
What do you think? Hey, what's up? Fellas? First? I
like to say, what's up to the original cat? Much respect,
(57:49):
love the show. Hey, but Zarre he got the way
this turn like Mello did when he was in the West.
Even even though he got his team to the Western
Carfence Finals, he still was barely an All Star game.
But I seen him in like three years, awesome, three years.
He's much more than Julius Randall with ups come on, man,
his feel for the game. Twenty one and nine in
(58:14):
the sixth year, Yeah, maybe twenty one in the sixth year.
If he's if he's there now, yes, But Julius Randall
was compared to Zach Randolph. Come on, now. He's developed
a lot more skills though than Zach yeah, way more
skills anything like Zac Now, yeah, have you ever seen
Lebron dump with both hands like Zary could? I'm just
(58:40):
talking about the stretch dunks when he take off and extends.
He definitely can't jump Julius can't jump like him, no question, No,
not at all. All right, let's go to Mark and Sacramento.
Mark you on with Chris and Contino. But what's going on? Continue?
How you doing? Man? What's our brother? It? Real quick?
I think with the real changes not allowing guys to
(59:01):
be hand checking and the open part of the game,
I think the che is gonna be special because of that.
He has open court skills and that's what the game
is now. And if you can ever get himself a
really good chump shot, he's really gonna be special. I
think you're a combination of course, Sauce Barkeley. But around
the rim I saw Larry Johnson play. He was like
(59:23):
a younger Larry Johnson that you're going to have been
around that rim too. He got a combination of him both.
I think you can be special. I really do. No.
I agree. I think he can definitely do that. And
I actually think we're talking about when Blake came in
Katino and the game was a little bit different than
Zion might he might be better off for this type
(59:45):
of game than back in the day. Although I guess
you could say Larry Johnson was six seven posting guys,
Barkley was six four or six five posting guys. But
Zion might be viewed as a tweener this back in
the data because he don't have to You're not don't
have back to the baskets like Larry Johnson or Charles
Barker exactly. I mean nobody really does now days, these kids.
(01:00:06):
But so if he had to back in the day,
if he had to play down low, obviously got the hops,
but right now he don't have the moves down there.
Well do you think about it. Two, Back in the day,
everybody had a seven footer and they were throwing you around,
beating you up, so you had to have some skill
down there, you know what I mean, And they wore
clogging the paint up. You wouldn't be able to shoot
the threes, so your whole game would be totally different.
(01:00:28):
Right So, well, they're waiting for you to come into
the paint back in the day, where now it's like
they have to play you all the way out there
so you can go past them. So he's the evolution
of Larry Johnson and Charles Barkley when it comes to
like putting the ball on the floor, literally going past somebody.
But as far as like Charles or Larry's, you know,
back to the basket skills, I didn't. I don't see
that none of these kids had they work on. Let's
(01:00:49):
go to Evan and Virginia. Evan, you're on with Chris
and Gattino. How you guys right? Man? I'm originally from Connecticut, man,
so I gotta tend to see you in Tyson doing
your thing at Rhode Island. Man, And uh, I always
loved your game, and I loved what you're doing things
in the Big Three. I appreciate you, brother, and I
(01:01:11):
kind of kind of agree with you about the Uh
it's a disrespect to Julia's random, because man, if Julius
Randow twenty one and nine to be like Julie's random
giving me everdingty and fifteen, Yeah, like Julish random is bowling. Man,
that's not a disrespect to him. I think his Chandon
(01:01:33):
trying to be funny because he just knew things out there.
You would tell him the truth because you knew the game.
Here's the thing. If Zion, let's say two years from
now or next year, he's averaging twenty one and nine
with his dunks and his defense because he plays good, Evince,
that's a different twenty one to nine. That's a twenty
(01:01:53):
one to nine that people are looking at like, oh,
this dude's a superstar, you know what I mean, because
of the excitement fact if they're winning, you know, so
I look twenty one and nine, right, you know what
I mean. Let's go to Albert in Dallas. You own
with Chris and Gatino. What's up? Odd couple the fans? Uh.
(01:02:13):
Catino always pleasure to listen to you guys, to you
two guys, UM hash out UM NBA and all that.
But as far as Ian Williamson, I honestly do believe
he can be an All Star up to the level
of Lebron. Now. I know, now it's really hard to
see that just because we've only seen him play maybe
a year or two in uh in college. But the
my big takeaway what I think was gonna really show
(01:02:36):
him um off his Willie skill set. It's it's how
he had those like losses. Um again, I love his intangibles,
but I think the biggest fiction for him this year
is obviously making the playoffs. But honestly, if he wants
to somehow get um to like the first round and go,
we get him. The number one Lakers are like number
one two Lakers number two seed like wars like that
and then lose. But in the fighting effort, it was
(01:02:56):
just showing me how much this um, this kid is
again old franchise to the playoffs and then lose to
a great which to a great play if you once
again some of these franchisees don't have much and yeah, um,
then the dots of him being upset su does come
to play. I don't see the comparisons at all the Lebron.
(01:03:20):
I get the size, the build, you know, the explosiveness,
but their games are completely different, like and I don't.
And Lebron is so unique, like we know, one of
his strengths is you can put him with just about
anybody and right, he's gonna make him great because he
controls the game and is his own system. He was
doing that his first year, right, right, He's played that
(01:03:40):
way his whole career and sometimes I think that can
be a little bit of a detriment as well, because
he becomes the system. Zion is not gonna be the system.
He's not gonna carry a group of bad players like
Lebron does or mediocre players. However, he can fit in
to a system better than Lebron, which it would be
a strength. I mean, you said you hit it right
(01:04:02):
on the nose. He's not. I played this game for
so long. I know what a leader is. I know
what a guy who comes in, the hard worker that's
gonna fell in. I just I just feel it, I
know what I see it. Yeah, I've seen his rodeo before.
I think he's gonna be amazing. But as far as
being like a Lebron James, you need too many people.
(01:04:22):
That's like, that's high that you don't want to put
that pressure on that boy. All right, we're gonna switch
gears a little bit here because some things are just
bigger than sports, and we'll explain next. But first let's
bring it our man's David gascon Man for the latest. Man,
I thought you guys are gonna start talking some baseball
for a quick second. Now we'll lead that to you.
(01:04:43):
We'll go with you, NASCAR, NHL, golf, whatever, Maybe it's
all good fellas. We'll bring it back though to the
NBA because the Laker has been a big move today,
setting three players and also a draft pick to the
Washington Wizards. That draft pick won't happen until twenty twenty two,
but nevertheless it opens up cap space a total of
thirty two million dollars, so now they can Google grab
a max player or several role players along the way.
(01:05:06):
Women's World Cup action today saw one contest go to
England as they dropped Norway by a score three to nothing.
Jill Scott with a game winning goal came the third
minute of play in that affair. Major League Baseball some
bad news for the Yankees. Yesterday we broke some of
the news that they placed young Colo Stanton on the
injured list the PCL strain. Today things got a little
bit worse. Is Gerald manager Brian Cashman projected that Stanton

all kinds of things going on, specially in the Windy City.

said earlier, switched gears and take it over to tennis.
Just for a brief moment, we got the former ATP
Tour player and now the head coach of the Georgia
(01:07:17):
Tech women's tennis team. It is Rodney Harman joining us. Rodney,
how are you doing. Welcome to the Odd Couple. Oh,
thank you so much. I'm doing well. Great. Great to
have you on, and we're have you on. Because a
street in Richmond, Virginia, was known as Boulevard has now
been changed to Arthur Ashe Boulevard, and this was the
(01:07:39):
third attempt to get that change made. Can you talk about,
you know, the significance of the name change and also
why it took so long and what put it over
the top this third time, Well, I think there were
series of factors that came into play. I mean the boulevard.
I'm from Richmond, so the boulevard is the third major
(01:07:59):
street in the city outside of Broad Street, in another
street called Monument Avenue, and Monument Avenue is where Arthur's
statue is, and the Boulevard is a major thoroughfare. And
I think it's pretty significant that it was renamed Arthur
ash Boulevard because it's one of the major streets in
my hometown. I think, be honestly, the thing that put
(01:08:21):
it over the top were the issues that we've had
in Virginia with Governor Northam and a series of other
things that have happened, and I think that that kind
of helped push things over the top. What do you
think like Arthur Ash's legacy. I mean, we know as
legacy is setting stone and it's been great. As far
as African Americans playing more tennis, now you do see
(01:08:44):
a few here and there, but you know, you got
the Williams sisters most notably, but you don't have the
huge numbers, it seems of African Americans playing tennis. Like
some may have thought, why do you think that is
or do you see a change coming in the future.
You know, it's weird because I'm a child of the
seventies and so tennis was really popular in the seventies,
(01:09:05):
and growing up in Richmond was how well Arthur had done.
I mean, tennis really was a part of the tennis
boom amongst the African American community. And honestly, I think
the cost of our sport has really driven a number
of very talented athletes, both male and female out of
the game. And so we're hoping and looking for different
ways to keep those kids in the game. And what now,
(01:09:27):
even with Selena and Venus, have you seen any more
interest with you know, the greatness that they've had. I mean,
if you look on the girl's side between with Sloan
Stevens and Madison Keys, and then today there's a fifteen
year old who was the number one junior in the world.
Her name is Coco Goffs. She's originally from here in
Atlanta and she's the youngest player ever to qualify for
(01:09:48):
the main draw at Wimbledon. She's an extremely impressive player.
I mean, to get a chance to watch her play,
You'll be impressed. She hits a pretty big tennis ball
and she's got greatness ron all over. Okay, okay, what
about on the men's side. You know, Francis, I mean,
he's really the guy. We haven't seen all of the
African Americans. Certainly, you know you've seen some blacks from
(01:10:12):
different countries, right, but I mean that's one of the
issues from the US, I mean out side of Francis Tiafa,
who came out of the Junior Tennis Center up in
College Park, Maryland. Um, it's really and obviously God him
on feast from over in France. And you know, it's
kind of we're not we're not that heavily represented on
(01:10:33):
the on the men's side. On the women's side, I mean,
between Madison and Venus and Serena and Sloan I mean
and now Coco Golf, I mean knows, those five are
pretty pretty amazing. So we're hoping we can get more
young African American male starting to play the game. It's
the Eye couple. We are joined by Rodney Harmon, the
head coach of Georgia Tech's women's tennis team. And when
(01:10:57):
you grew up in Richmond, you were a tremendous player.
You were viewed as the next Arthur ashe did you
have a relationship with Arthur and you know, to tell
us some stories about that if so, yes, and I
didn't have relationship, I did have a good relationship with Arthur.
I mean the park that I grew up in, Battery Park,
which was now where Arthur played. Where Arthur played, it
(01:11:17):
was called Brookfield, but they they tore that down and
built a post office and they moved everyone to another
place which is about five blocks op six blocks away
called Battery Park, which is where I grew up. And
so at the park where I grew up, Arthur's father
was the caretaker slash policeman at the park where I
grew up. Wow, And that's where and he's a very
(01:11:38):
tough man, very fair and very tough. And so Arthur
helped me a lot. He gave me through American Express
and an award when I was twelve years old on
the center court at the Fourth Hills Most Improved Player
in the Nation Award. He helped me get a scholarship
to the Mooletary Tennis Academy, which is now a part
of the IMG Academy. Down in Bradens in Florida. Yeah,
(01:12:02):
he's helped me a ton of time. Tell me get
my first job with the US Tennis Association, where I
worked for seventeen years, and it's it's really really quick.
This is Katino, this is uh. Congratulations with all your
success too. I started playing tennis about ten my son's nineteen, now,
about ten years ago. I started playing with him and
John Lucas, who was actually a tennis player and basketball
(01:12:23):
player kind of you know, pushed us to that and
my son became really good at it. But it was
a time where because he played basketball and football, tennis
after a while became boring, right like for him, and
not only just was his friends weren't playing it. Now
you got to go into I was, you know, blessed
(01:12:44):
enough to afford tennis lessons, but then you know a
lot of those kids weren't. So you know, um, I
would even practice my son at my cousins. He built
a tennis court for his kids and they played tennis.
So you know, I was blessed enough to be able
to do that. But there's a lot of kids out
there that may want to play tennis but just don't
(01:13:04):
have it financially or you know the pressure of football
or basketball or playing of the sports at a young age,
you know, because tennis can get isolating, you know what
I mean for an individual, I think, I don't know.
You give me your perspective, but I think that's a
lot of the reasons why a lot of the younger
youth of say, urban city kids fall through the cracks. No,
(01:13:26):
I mean, what you're saying is one percent accurate. And
we had a young lady on my team or she
to McAdoo and her dad as Bob McAdoo, who played
basketball with the Lakers in the next and everything, and
so as he said, if my daughter, if we didn't
have means and my daughter couldn't afford the lessons and everything,
you know, she would have played basketball or another sports.
But she's a great athlete. So you know, the UST
is trying to remedy that through a program called a
(01:13:48):
National Junior Tennis League, which Arthur started in nineteen sixty
nine with a couple of other tennis players, which goes
to urban communities and provides tennis lessons and opportunities for
the kids to be able to not only learn the game,
but progress in the game. As well as to get
life skill help and help with academics in a lot
of places as well. So that's one of the things
(01:14:09):
that's been going on for a while, but the USK
is now trying to step it up where they're trying
to provide take those kids from that program that are
very talented and give them additional opportunities at their national
headquarters down and Lake Nonaccount, Lake Nona, Florida, which is
now the largest tennis center in the US with one
hundred tennis s courts. Oh, that's beautiful. Rodney Arthur, ashe
was known beyond being a tennis player, obviously was known
(01:14:30):
for being a civil rights leader humanitarian. Knowing him as
you did, what do you think he would be focusing on, Like,
if you were still alive today, what social issues do
you think he'd be most focused on? Education and the
importance of education and providing educational opportunities to people from
(01:14:51):
disadvantaged backgrounds. I happened to at Georgia Tech Is as
a STEM school, and I know that he was really
really focused on kids getting education in a way that
they would have a career, not just a job, right,
And so I think he would be pushing kids to
get careers in math science really early on, and get
it and get the opportunity to pursue those areas that
(01:15:13):
they have that background. All right, Rodney Harmon, the former
ATP Tour player and now the current head coach of
Georgia Techs women's tennis team, We appreciate the time, Rodney,
thank you for the information or author, asked Boulevard. No,
thank you, guys. You gotta take care of all right,
see you things. Jess went from bad to worse for

theme song that Cotino get behind all right right. He
(01:16:19):
made us wait a damn man, man, much of old
heads in there. Huh yeah, I look great, here, look great.
Here it's the eye come from Chris Brussar and Contino
filling in for Rod Parker. You go ahead and sing man,
we brought to you by a true car. Car shopping
could be confused in terms like dealer price list, price invoice.
(01:16:41):
What you need is true car because true car shows
you what other people pay for the car you want.
That way you can recognize a good price from a
bad one. When you're ready to buy a new even
a used car, make sure you visit true car and
get your confidence up. All right, Contino, there was a
report today it's looking man, and I'm a guy that
lived in New York or New Jersey covered the Knicks.
(01:17:05):
You from Philadelphia, so you know how it is. You
gotta be you gotta be straight the way you did
because you know, you know, certain cats may tell you
didn't live there or you didn't do that. They may
text you right that you really from New York, New Jersey.
But it is what looked like it was gonna be
a phenomenal summer for the Knicks a few months ago
(01:17:27):
it was Kyrie and Kad are going there. Now it's
looking like they're gonna strike out on the big name
for agents. Now. They have told me they are not
going to spend if they don't get Kawhi Leonard or
Kevin Durant and whatever would come with that. So if
you get Kad and Kyrie or Kad and Kimba, whatever,
(01:17:47):
if they don't get one of those two, they're not
maxing anybody, Yeah, which I agree with. They just gonna,
you know, try to build around their young guys and
you know, patch together what they have to do, you know,
going forward, which I agree with, rather than Saint Max
and Tobias Harris and Chris Middleton for the next five
years or four years. But there was a report today
(01:18:11):
that they might offer a one year, a huge one
year deal, say one year, twenty million or something for
Boogie Cousins. Now, I've been told by the Knicks I
talked to him a few hours ago, that's not happening.
It was fake news, if you will. But what do
you think about that? Like, I gotta be honest, I
don't like Boogie there. Boogie is a great individual player,
(01:18:33):
but we know he's had some attitude issues. I don't
want that around a rookie like RJ. Barrett, who you
know or not become. Right, she got a lot of
these younger guys that's gonna look up to him because
he's so exceptionally he's so good, you know what I mean.
But I mean if I was Boogie, I wouldn't even
go there, right, Like, I just don't. One and two
(01:18:55):
is you gotta think of There's two things, right. There's
the bad taste that the Knicks have in their mouth
because you signed. You gotta think about this, right they
signed They had the highest salary captain the league for
some years, and it didn't make the playoffs. Right, So
you're signing names and the guys don't produce. That's one side.
(01:19:15):
On the opposite side, it's those same guys plus other
guys that know what you do withinside the organization, but
players and how you you know whatever, so that that
gossip is surrounding, right. So there's players on one side
they look at you sideways, and then there's the ownership saying,
well I give these cats his money where they really play.
On the other side, Well, that's an interesting point because
(01:19:37):
there's no doubt under Phil Jackson, there were problems. Christos
Worzingis was probably not gonna resign with them. That's one
reason they traded him. Now, I do think they you know,
they got Scott Perry in there, who came from Detroit,
worked with you, Joe Dumars built that championship team in
oh four. You know, they've revamped the front officer, So
I think their front office is good. David Fizdale has
(01:19:59):
a lot of respect. But how residue even despite having Fizdale,
Scott Perry, Steve Mills, how much of the residue from
past regimes? And also James Dolan is the owner. Do
you think discourages some free agents? I mean it discourages
them a lot. I mean, I believe who you are
is who you are, right Like, you don't just especially
(01:20:20):
if you have a lot of money or you have
a lot of success withinside your life, you don't really
look withinside yourself, right you just keep going because I'm successful,
I'm who I am. And whether it's James Dolan or whoever,
this is just like Donald Sterling, right like until they
kicked you out, Like you're gonna keep doing the things
that you feel like doing, whether you say what you
want to say, kicking fans out of the arena when
they really didn't do anything. Like your attitude and how
(01:20:43):
you you you take on each day, it shows withinside
your organization, right so at the end of the day.
So at the end of the day, yeah, you may
pay for free agent Katino Mobile, Donald Sterling, but you
still have your little whatever antics. But now you know
you it's it's it's a weird thing because it's James
Dolan going to hand the keys over and say, you
(01:21:04):
know what, I'm gonna stay out of it, and everybody
else do this. I think he has. But the perception
is reality. So if people don't perceive that, then that
can still be a deterrent to some players. You brought
up Boogie Cousins and what like, he shouldn't go to
the next This is what I think. Look, Boogie, because
of his situation with the injuries, if a team, any
(01:21:27):
team offers him a one year, twenty two twenty one
million dollar deal, I think he may have to take it.
But I think the ideal situation for him being where
he's at right now coming off the injuries, will be
to stay in Golden State. If they'll have him back.
I'm gonna tell you why to not stay there, right,
I go ahead because I got my reasons, but I
(01:21:48):
won't hear yours. Well, you think about Boogie last year.
You know I love Boogie right, and I always start
off because all my peers I love him right. But
I'm you know, my major with communication to psychology, So
I'm not really looking at how you play. I'm looking
at your body language. I'm looking at every single thing.
So Boogie, you in the best place possible with Raymond Green, Iguodala,
(01:22:09):
Kevin Durant, right, Stephen Clay, Steve Kerr, who's one of
the coolest coaches. And you still was complaining and doing
certain stuff when you were on the floor, right, Do
you know what I'm saying? So try to hold it back.
He could see some of you. Are you are? So
now you're gonna go to New York? When you got
about the young kids, the cosme kids, right that are talented?
(01:22:30):
What if you start losing? What if you get injured?
What are you gonna do? Then? Right, You're gonna be
who you are. That's just how we are psychologically. You're
gonna you're gonna digress to who your original state is
and I don't think that. I think him being in
a positive state of mind is better than when he's
in golden state. Right, And it looked until Clay is back,
he gonna be the second option. Exactly. He's gonna average
(01:22:51):
over twenty points, ten rebounds. If they're winning to any degree,
he could rehabilitate to some degree his image. I think
he should stay. But it's the eye couple. Fox Sports Radio,
keep it locked. It is the I couple. I'm Chris Bruce,
are alongside. As you heard, NBA veteran. Now he says
nine years, we got eleven, but you say it was nine.
(01:23:14):
It was nine nine years, all right. Contino Mobley in
for Rod Parker, and we're talking all things NBA. We're
gonna have ja about nas Dog. What you know about nassas, Okay,
what you know about SOBI with Damian Marley. You know
what I'm saying, Nas Dog ain't gonna doshases before that.
(01:23:35):
As as much as we're in us a basis this
hip hop talk, we're gonna get to some back, get
back to some basketball. We got an NBA champion, also
a former NBA coach, now an NBA analyst Damon Jones
coming on with us now, Damon, what's happening, man, Chris?
What's going on? Man? How are you doing? Hey? Hey,
(01:23:56):
listen if I can't talk to you, Ken, hey listen yo,
my three yo two three three, no, no, no, hey listen.
I saw your debut and the Big Three the other
day and it was very impressive. I appreciate you. Think.
I think right now, um, they should give you a
minimum contract over there with the Lakers. You'll dood coming
(01:24:18):
off all I got do and sit there on in
the corners, and I was telling Continuo during one of
the breaks. Somebody was saying to me they thought he
could still play in the NBA based on what they
saw in the Big Three. I'm telling you right now,
he can still play in the NBA. Only one thing
has to happen. He got the col that bid. I
can't keep watching all that. I can't keep watching that
(01:24:39):
all day. He said the original he had original Uncle Drew.
He the original. No, No, he ain't originally Drew. He
looked like Pops. Yeah, all right, Damon, let's get to
the news. The Lakers clear maximum cap room. Now they
can go after anybody. Kawhi Leonard Kyrie Irving, so on
(01:25:01):
and so forth. You and I both we had both
said it on the air. I don't know a couple
of weeks ago that Kauai the Lakers were in play
for Kawhi Leonard, particularly if they got ad to play
with Lebron. We had both heard the same things. You
and I talked about it off the air and as well.
Now I've heard recently that yeah, the Lakers gonna get
(01:25:25):
us sit down, and they're you know, somewhat in play,
but the Clippers and the Raptors are the heavy favorites
right now. The Lakers are kind of a distant third.
What are you hearing in regard to Kauai with the Lakers, Well,
I hear he's going to sit down with him, and
(01:25:46):
from what I'm hearing that, you know, he's enthusiastic and
the Lakers are enthusiastic about getting the meeting. And you know,
like I said a couple of weeks ago, I said
he was in play. Does that mean he's gonna sign there?
That's up for Kawhi to do. But at the end
of the day, a couple of weeks ago, no one
would even think that Kawhi Leonard would sit down and
(01:26:09):
talk to the Lakers about joining Lebron James until uh,
the Anthony Davis move was made. So so let me
ask let me ask you this, Um, what do you
think like when you say, I know, you probably have
some inside because you and Lebron are clothes and then
you and ty Lou and you have that little circles
going on. You know, do you do you hear anything
(01:26:30):
about Kawhi with the Clippers or the you know what,
what's what's that kind of talk with them? Well, I
hear he's you know, those those teams that he's going
to sit down and talk with, He's very interested in
hearing the type of pitch that they could give to
see if you know, if it's something that he would
want to do. So, um, right now, you know, all
(01:26:53):
four teams that I hear that he's going to have
meetings with, you know, has an opportunity to you know,
put forth their best sales pitching and hopefully you know
the Lakers are Clippers, A Knicks or the Toronto Raptors.
You know, puts the best deal out there for him,
and you know he's going to decide from the damon.
Let's say hypothetically, they do get Kawhi Leonard. Now we
(01:27:15):
know with big threes, with Lebron's past two big threes,
you had Chris Bosh and Kevin Love kind of step back,
you know, and become spot up shooters. Obviously a d
Kawhi or Lebron, none of them are doing that. I
actually think if they do get Kawhi or even Kyrie
Irving again, I think Lebron should take on more of
(01:27:35):
a role of Magic Johnson where he's not looking to
necessarily be the leading scorer anymore, but he's running the
offense making sure those two guys get there's he gonna
get twenty something points anyway. Do you agree with that
assessment and do you think that Lebron would do that?
I mean, maybe he's this is his seventeenth year, his
(01:27:58):
game and is his He's got some magic in it,
but he's never been totally like magic. Could you see
him making that adjustment. Well, at the end of the day,
he's gonna do whatever he has to do for the
team to be successful. So if that means him being
more of a facilitator to let those guys do their thing,
he's going to do that. At the end of the day.
(01:28:19):
For him in his seventeenth a year, he's you know,
thinking about trying to win more championships. And I think
it's it's actually a good marriage because if you think
about it, Lebron has what two three, you know, maybe
four years left to play at a high level, and
then you have Kawhi Leonard and Anthony Davis going forward.
(01:28:42):
So why everybody says, oh, you know, why would Kawhi
want to play with Lebron and this, that and the other.
It's an opportunity for them to win right now and
going forward, it gives Kawhi Leonard another top five guy
in the NBA to take his career from from that
point going forward. You make a great point, U d
(01:29:05):
um and tell us about like, because you played with
Lebron and you've been around Lebron for so many years,
the way he works out his work habits. Um. I mean,
that's incredible to me. And I do a lot, you know,
for myself, And we didn't have this in when you
and I were in the early two thousands, um, And
I'm pretty sure we our bodies and in our careers
(01:29:26):
would have lasted a lot longer. But just just tell
us a little bit about how Lebron just takes care
of himself. Um, and what that would help with Actually
kawife he comes in and a d when he comes there,
because now they get, you know, the open book of
of how Lebron trains well. I mean, at the end
of the day, as going into this season, he's had
(01:29:47):
so much time off. He hasn't had this much time off.
And I don't think I can't even remember. I probably
the second year in the league when he didn't make
the playoffs. So you know, eight straight finals, who and
at least one hundred some games a year the opportunity
to not make the playoffs. This year, he's fresh. You see,
(01:30:08):
he's on Instagram, in the gym working out. He's also
shooting a movie at the same time. So his work
ethic is unparalleled, specially for a guy, and it's going
into a seventeenth year. I mean, he looks great. He's
always working on his game. Mike man sees I have
to give him some love. Personal trainer that's been with
(01:30:31):
him since day one, always gone of the things, always
does the things that he needs on a daily basis,
just to keep itself in prime condition. Damon, you were
in Cleveland when Kyrie and Lebron were together, they won
the championship. We all know, what do you think Kyrie's
thought process is on deciding where he's gonna go as
(01:30:53):
a free agent? And if you were the Lakers, how
would you sell Kyrie or a turning to play with Lebron?
The same way I would sell to Kawhi Leonard is
that you know, yes, you're gonna play with Lebron James
for the foreseeable future. But at the end of the day,
you know Lebron's gonna be transition out of the league
(01:31:16):
at some point shortly, and then you have Kyrie, Irvin
and Anthony Davis going forward, both guys in their prime,
both young players at this point in time, and you
know who wouldn't want to be with the top five
guy going forward like Anthony Davis. So the same pitch
(01:31:38):
would be for Kauhi as it would be for Kyrie.
You know, we have an opportunity if we all come
together right now to win championships now and after that,
after Lebron transitions out, we still have an opportunity to
win championships with whatever two guys going forward that they have.
(01:32:00):
You being you, you being around Kyrie, and Cleveland. I mean,
his image is taking a hit this past year or two,
you know in Boston. Yeah, what talk about with your
knowledge of him in a locker room with his teammates,
things like that, and you hear you see what happened
in Boston. Kind of put this all into perspective and
and let us know what Kyrie is really like on
(01:32:22):
the team. I don't I don't like. I don't like
what's being said about Kyrie. I think it's very unfair. Um,
his reasoning for one to get out of Cleveland was,
you know, he wanted to, you know, do things on
his own, which you know a lot of guys uh
in his age, you know, this damn age of social
(01:32:45):
media wants to go out and and uh you know,
be on their own. And I think going into Boston,
you know, they had a great plan going forward, and
and they had some injuries the first year and then
and you bring Kyrie Ree back and Gordon Hayward and
and the success just wasn't there. But I don't think
(01:33:06):
it's all Kyrie's fault. Yeah, he's a different guy, he is,
but he's still a great player. Uh, young in the game.
He's not as moody as everybody say he is, but
you know he has he has his ways. But I
think it's unfair that, you know, all the blame of
how lost and underachieved this year being put on him.
(01:33:30):
I think it's very unfair. So if they don't get
the Lakers get Kawhi or Kyrie, who were some of
the players you like out there in free agency that
you would say they should go after. Well, I'm hoping
that you know, they get JR. Smith, who's been with
Lebron before knocked down Shooter, He's had some rests unfortunately
(01:33:55):
not playing the last half of the season this year.
Jeff Green, who they are able to bring him in,
another Verstal forward that can do some ball helling good defensively.
Um Alec Burke is another guy out there that I
think would really help in that second unit. That's just
some of the names that I have off the top
(01:34:16):
of my head. But you know, there's gonna be a
lot of great players, good players out there that they're
gonna be able to feel the roster out with and
that would be willing to come and uh take that
minimum contract. All right, we're putting you on the hot seat.
U do they how far do the Lakers go next
year from what we know right now? Uh? With the
(01:34:37):
with the two guys that they have, Anthony Davis and
Lebron James, I see them winning at all. I see
the silver fuck he should know, he should be for
real though, I've watched the Big Three this Pat Man. Listen,
that jump shot still look smooth, and you and you
(01:35:00):
get into that mid range, which with the life fade,
I like that. I think you would come back and play.
I see the years churning in his head. You know, hey,
you got to contact you talking to Lebron and ty
Low and all the ten day give me ten day.
See what I can do? Right? Yeah, he got to
do something with that beard though, Chris go all right,
(01:35:24):
this damon Joe, great job, brother, thank you, good many
piece and NBA all starts spitting nothing but facts. I'll
tell you who it is and what he said. Next,

Car Discover One You like you would treat yourself. Now,
you can't tell me you wasn't in the Batman because right,
who's your favorite superhero? My favorite superhero is um Tony Stark. Okay,
(01:37:11):
I mean he's not really super So between Batman and Tony,
I was gonna say billionaire flashpers, single goods bats. I'm
loving it. Yeah, Batman was was the man. A lot
of people like Superman. He was all right, but Batman,
bat Batman and iron Man iron Man. That's Tony start
right right right. That movie is billions. They got billion movies.
(01:37:32):
All right, we're gonna talk about something that Lou Williams said,
but first we do have some breaking news. And Rob
g who you know as the producer of the show.
He is hyped. He thinks everybody's going to the Lakers.
So every time there's an inkling of a hint that
somebody might consider the Lakers, he just gets excited. So
go ahead, Rob, share the big. First of all, they
(01:37:55):
all are going to the Lakers. You know, our friend
Brad Turner, friend of the show, just tweeted out the
sources if the Warriors do not offer guard Clay Thompson
the max one hundred ninety million dollars deal on Sunday
at the start of free agency, he will listen to
both LA teams, the Lakers and the Clippers. Well, we
(01:38:16):
already knew he was thinking about the Clippers. If the
Warriors don't offer the max, they look bottom line continue,
they're gonna offer him the max the best PM Eastern times.
He's in the best position though, right he getting his
money yea. And they would have been in position where
had he made the All NBA team, which I actually
voted him on my third team, he would they would
(01:38:37):
have been given him like two hundred and twenty million.
So they actually getting off the hook a little bit.
And the only thing does say if he did go
to the Lakers, like he can't play until the last
two last two months, you know what I mean. So
and then Lebron James loses another year, you know what
I mean, Like Lebron James is ninth year, tenth year
because he fit perfect with Lebron James, you know what
I mean. I gotta be honest, I don't know. I
(01:38:59):
don't think there's a better I'm gonna say it, there's not.
There's not a better in the NBA or star in
the NBA not fit with Lebron Better and a day,
He's the perfect I'm liking Bradley Beale, I'm liking Clay Thompson,
but Klay Thompson is the ultimate fit for I mean, like,
they don't need the ball. I'm so excited now that
(01:39:21):
they ain't gonna happen. If I was to see that,
that's ridiculous. So okay, let me, let's just play around
a little bit. If you were Clay and again, the
Warriors are gonna offer him the MAX. But say they didn't,
and you could go to either the Clippers or the Lakers.
Which one would you go? Lakers? Right? I agree, I'm
going I'm going with Lebron and a D or Okay,
but let me let me spice it up a little.
(01:39:41):
You could go to the Lakers with Lebron a D.
Or you could go to the Clippers with Kauhi. The
only reason I'm gonna go with Lebron a D's because
the AD's gonna give you double teams, right, and Lebron
James is gonna feed you that ball so much. I mean,
look what they do with Kyle Korver and all Damon
Jones and all those different guys that are shooters like
Lebron loves sho and then he has the best fastest
(01:40:02):
release of anybody. He scores the ball without dripping the
ball more than anybody in the history of the game.
About question, no, no, what was it on eleven drips?
So you're right he would be, and I would go
I'm I'm with you if I were him, I'm going
to the Lakers. Get eighty points easy with Lebron James. Now,
(01:40:23):
I'm gonna ask you this. Eighty he got sixty, but
he got sixty with Golden States, he's gonna get all right.
I'm gonna give you my answer first. If you Clay,
even if they do offer you the max Golden State,
do you still consider or or maybe just go to
(01:40:47):
the Lakers. I'm gonna say I would not. He and Steph.
I think they're the best backcourt effort and they're gonna
go down amazing, amazing and they can still win championships.
We'll see what Katy does. But even if he doesn't
go back there, maybe they can still win. So I
would stay with Golden State be my first option. Would you,
even if they offer you the max, look at the Lakers?
(01:41:07):
If you play. I would look, I would just see
what they're talking about, right, and what they have and
what's going on. But like you said, like listen, if
it ain't broke, don't fix it, right, So I mean,
I'm staying with Curry. But again, you got somebody's gonna
feed you that ball like Lebron James and have a
D right there in the post for you. Oh gosh,
I'm loving that, you know what I'm saying. But again, right,
you got Stephen Curry and you have see because it's
(01:41:28):
very unique. Right, if he didn't have Stephen Curry or
Draymond Green or e Goodalla, I could see. Or if
you didn't have Lebron James, the Lakers and a D. Okay,
then you don't go to the Lakers. You stay, going
to stay. But it's just those two teams that's gonna
make you even that more, that much more elite because
those two teams compliment your games so much where you
don't really have to dribble the ball, you literally don't.
(01:41:51):
I gotta be honest. It's like I was saying, Look,
Kauhi is so good he Lebron and a D would
be ridiculously but I might take Clay over Kawhi I
am because smooth. No, it's just a fact because you
gotta think about it like this, right. You made a
good point about the Boston Celtics. Back when it was
(01:42:12):
KG and Ray and Paul, everybody played a different game.
And when you're dealing with like the big three of
any team, everybody has to play different games. Somebody has
to like compromise because Lebron James is gonna handle the ball,
Clay Thompson will be just spot up shooting everywhere, running
the floor, just shooting threes, and then a d does
everything else. Do you know what I mean? Like they're
(01:42:32):
not getting each other's way. There's no rhythm guy, you
know what I mean where it's like Kyrie or Kimball
or Jimmy or the kind of rhythm guys. No question,
because I I even look, I contend that Lebron and
d Wade weren't a great fit. They were just both
(01:42:53):
so good with the combination of bosh too that they won.
They stayed on that fast break with each other offensive
lee and when they ran that's but in the half
court because you know they both were similar, you know,
so to your point, they weren't different enough. It worked,
don't get me wrong, but uh, it wasn't. I don't
(01:43:14):
think they were like an all time great team. You know,
they were really good. But yeah, man, but Rob g
stopped getting excited, all right. Put down the palm pomps,
and you look like you want to break out some champagne.
You know that Klay Thompson is on the future Lakers
starting five. That's already been established. But I expect we
(01:43:36):
won't get him for another three or four years. I
think he's gonna resign in Golden State. But Kawhi's coming.
I got sixty wings that says Kawhi is coming, and
it's coming, Pepper whatever, Chris, Chris, it's gonna be great.
You ain't getting that. We had a bet that I
said this, Kawhi is going to the Clippers, and he's
(01:43:59):
got the field. Got the field. That's ten. It's not sixties. Ten.
Where you getting the other? We got We got ten
on that one. We got ten on Chris saying the
Lakers are not getting any of the k free agents.
So there's ten. One is Kawhi. I still stand by that.
And then I got ten on that. That's ten to
there's twenty and then Rob Parker gave me four to
(01:44:21):
one odds on KAS so that's sixty wings. And because
you know you can come, you can have something, but
Chris can have it. All right, We're gonna throw it
out to you. It's just some interesting stuff here. If
you're Klay Thompson, would you think, I mean, if the
Warriors offer you the max, the Warriors don't do anything wrong,
(01:44:43):
They're treating you right everything. Would you still look at
going to the LA Lakers to play with Lebron and
a D eight seven seven ninety nine on Fix eight
seven seven nine ninety six sixty three sixty nine. It's
you're turning away in we'll continue to talk with you.

Some interest in news from Brad Turner of the LA Times,
(01:45:29):
Clay Thompson will consider not only the LA Clippers, but
the LA Lakers. Should the Golden State Warriors drop the
ball and not offer him a max deal? We want
to put a little twist on it. Even if they
do offer him the max deal, Should Clay Clay Thompson
consider going to the Lakers or the Clippers for that matter,
(01:45:50):
eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox, Let's start with
Tony in Las Vegas. Tony, what do you think? Yeah?
I think how are you guys doing? By the way,
great man, great? Yeah, I think Clay Thompson, he said,
definitely considered leaving. KD is gone. IgA Dollar looked like
he's not getting any younger. He's getting hurt, he's falling apart.
(01:46:12):
That's the that's their bench, um Sean Livingston, He's not
getting any younger. Uh. I don't think they're gonna contend,
you know that much longer. They're gonna be a pretty
good team and they're not gonna be contenders. So why
not go to LA and contend? Now? It's he brings
up some interesting points. Continue. I mean Iguadalla's playing one
more year. It looks like the bench is thin. Draymond,
(01:46:35):
that's gonna be interesting. Can they bring back Draymond because
he signed with Clutch and Rich Paul and they typically
they tend to want to get all the money they can,
although ad did just give up four millions. Yeah, it's
it is interesting, um, and he's a great points. Sean
Livingston's gonna retire, you know, Egadalla's on one leg. You know.
It is very interesting. But again not saying you can
(01:46:59):
replace it Ega Doll or Sean Livingston because you can't
because of the IQ. And they're both six seven point
guards basically, Um, that that plays withinside the system and
let Steph and Clay be who they are as long
as we ky. But I mean, it's very unique when
you have two guys that can move without the ball
like those two guys, and they're in there, they're in
their prime, right, Like, that's hard to find and as
(01:47:22):
important as and they are you right A D I
mean and Great and Sean are important. Yeah. But you
I thought everybody was talking about their bench didn't do
it this year. I thought their bench did what a
bench does. Quinn Cook and you just they got to
a point with the injuries where you had to. They
had to give you more than a bench can give. Right, Yeah,
(01:47:42):
like you we got It's not like they bench average
forty right points. Right. You don't have a Lou Williams
coming off the banda right now, go go build up
your bench a little bit and may get a you know,
the Evan Turners of the world that can play the
point and don't have to score, you know what I mean.
That's a good fit for them because he's a big
guard that can play defense and it can facilitate. You
(01:48:03):
get guys like that because I think what the uniqueness
that Stephen Curry and Clay Thompson half one being Stephen Curry.
It's like, I'm the leader of this team. I'm the
head guy of this team, and I defer like I'm right,
you know what I mean, Like I don't try to
like look at me, look at me. I want everybody
to like and when another star comes there, Steph's okay,
(01:48:25):
and Clay's still okay with it. Clay's struggle and even
still have struggle, you know what I mean. Yeah, I'm
which I would stay, but you know it's something to
think about, But I would stay in Gold State. Let's
go to Sherbaz in DC. Shabaz, you know, with Chris
and Cantino, Shabbaz, what's good Chris, what's happening? Hey? First
of all, I gotta give my man Contino mobile props.
(01:48:48):
This is me being honest. This is one of my
favorite players, you know what I mean. I'm after Thank
you man, Thank you Bro. I appreciate that a lot
of game. And Chris, it was quick to say Clay
and Steff was the best backcourt ever. I would put Cotino.
We could sit back and watch that. They were nice
(01:49:09):
and they were nice. Questions they can go at it.
But let me get back to that point. The only
reason I say Clay should go to the Lakers because
his father, you know what I mean, His father played
for the Lakers, won a championship with the Lakers. And
I feel like Clay always get the get the cold shoulder.
He makes a lot of big shots, but he's never
the man. So I feel like if you go to
(01:49:29):
the Lakers, it's a chance for him to be the man. Well,
he would, but he would be Interestingly, he'd be in
the same exact role because Lebron and a d would
get the most Right now, it would be a way
for him to kind of come out of Steff's shadow
in that you would think he's gonna win titles without
staff if he goes to Lakers. So that would work,
(01:49:51):
but you know, he still would be in the third spot.
Let's go to inn this in New York. In this
you're on with Chris and Gattino. Hey, guys, Glad show
was always thank you, thank you. You know, if I
was Mom, Clay, I want to go to I want
to go to the Lakes, I would staying mom because
one gets more money. Two, when you're on Lebron James,
(01:50:15):
you know, consider the star and when the team loses,
you're gonna get to blame And you know Lebron lovespoints
finger and you know they're not going to blame Ad.
They're gonna say, oh, you know, he hasn't been there
before Clay had and Clay Net rarely gets criticized in
Golden State. And when he has a good game, he
has a great game. Everybody praised him. He has the
(01:50:37):
best gig in sports. And when you watch Golden State play,
like when he was playing against the Raptors of the finals,
there was a there were a couple of times where
him and Steppe on the same side of the court
and two defenders would chase step and he would be
wide open. I don't know if he's getting all those
wide open shots with Lebron and ad because maybe the
(01:50:58):
spacing just isn't right there. Yeah, they're doubling obviously, those
two guys, Lebron and they are getting doubled a lot,
but they wouldn't have a movement that they haven't Golden State,
well not at all. And you know, it's just you know,
you're you're more comfortable there and you don't have to adjust,
and you know, he moves without the ball so much.
And I feel like when you watch Lebron James left
(01:51:19):
hes he I shows there isn't a lot of off
ball moving He's but there's not a lot of off
ball movement. And like, I don't know, can he just
I mean, he could just stay in a corner and
shoot all game, but that's not really his thing. I
don't know. I think he's better off just staying there.
Of course, you don't want to go to help Lebron
James and he's in a seventeenth year, he's getting old.
(01:51:42):
You don't like, you don't like Lebron James, right, you
just you still mad from twenty ten when he uh
when he didn't go to the Knicks. Let's go to
Robert in this spara, his spara, California. Robert, you go
with the eye couple, and what's South that's doing? How
are you? I'm good? Yo. If I was either Quiet
(01:52:05):
or Clay, I would wait, we're losing you. We're losing you.
I said, you always wanted to be part of the Lakers.
You need to be part of the Lakers. You could
be part of something big. You come with Lebron and
you come with a d and man, if Quiet come
over here, many played break off for a five in
a row and then Lebron Lebron from the car and
(01:52:26):
they'll still be in the hunt for more championships. I
would come over here. And if I was Clay, his
daddy was a Laker, he grew up being a Laker.
Why wouldn't he want to be a Laker. And then
with Lebron, man, he'd go out there just hitting, hitting, hitting,
hitting hidden. I'm picturing Robert in the Lakers jersey head
on Lakers exactly all right. One of Contino's former teammates
(01:52:50):
just took a major l We'll get into that, you
know which one, and so much more in Trolling and
Rolling with Manny Anderson is in for Martin Weiss. That's next.
It's the Eye Couple, Coatino mobili and for Rob Parker
here on Fox Sports Radio at Farmer's Insurance. We know
the sound of a perfect hot air balloon landing and
(01:53:11):
a Leston perfect one. Get covered it, doctor Farmers, we
are under written. My Farmers took fire Insurance exchanges and
affiliates products unavailable every state. All right, it's the Eye Couple.
Chris Bruce Sorr. Coatino Mobile is in for Rob Parker,
and we're gonna wrap it up with trolling or rolling.
(01:53:35):
Tom Brady, he's done. Air Rodgers did not have a
Pro Bowl season. Trying to kiss me right, it's trolling
or Rolland all right, this is trolling or rolling. I'm
Manny the intern filling in for Martin Weiss. So on
this segment, if the guys agree with what I'm about
to say, you'll hear the rolling sounding, and if they disagree,
(01:54:00):
you'll hear the trolling sound. Oh man, hey, hey, hey, hey,
all right, So let's get right to it. Adam Silver
made headlines this week when he said that the NBA
was done using the term owner, and Pelicans owner Gail
Benson made comments standing by her titles, saying that she
has no plans to stop describing herself as a team owner. So, Chris,
(01:54:24):
are you trolling or rolling with Gail Benson's decision to
keep her owner title? I am trolling now, oh man, Hey, hey, hey,
I felt like I get it as an African American
when I hear the term owner, particularly in the sport
this eighty percent black and all the owners except Michael
Jordan or white, I get it. When I hear the
(01:54:46):
turn plantation. You know, it rubs me the wrong way
a little bit. This isn't a fight. I would have
fought to go ahead and let's get rid of the
term owner, because I think it's just a part of
the English language that means you own whatever it is.
How Ever, I'm fine with it. I don't. I'm not
against getting rid of the term owner. So for Gail
(01:55:07):
Benson to fight against it, then I do have a
problem with that. So I'm gonna troll her. Yeah, I'm
a troller, Oh man, I'm a troller just for the
simple fact that you know what Chris was saying that
hey to fight against it. What's your true meaning? Right? Okay,
So because you can have a billion dollars or a
million dollars or whatever, you can't get in my club, right,
(01:55:29):
Your your money means nothing to me. So you invested
in this this team, right because you you did invest
in just to waste your money, you know what I mean?
Like one is the title that you know, uh, you
want to put your money somewhere in foot story can
work and you're not losing money? Right, So your your
product is those players, and those players are or what
(01:55:51):
makes your money grow? Right? So what are they called?
They're called partners? Right. So if I'm in a I'm
if I'm in a say, a law firm, and I
you know, I go fifty and oh after a while,
you know what I'm gonna do. If it's Smith and Smith,
I'm gonna say you listen, guys, we need to make it.
You know, we gotta talk. I need to become part owner.
It need to be Smith Smith immobili. Do you know
(01:56:11):
what I'm saying? Because I'm the one that's making your
your company nice. So let's talk about that. You know
what I'm saying. So I think with the owners they
should take this in consideration because the players are not
just puppets anymore, right, They're businessmen and you gotta treat
them as such. Right. So next, multiple outlets are reporting
that the Clippers are looking to sign former players Tobias
(01:56:33):
Harris if they're unable to land a superstar. It's also
being reported that the Lakers are interested in bringing back
D'Angelo Russell. Are you trolling or are you rolling with
signing to a team that traded you? Man, I'm rolling
with that. They I mean, they're offering money that their
money is as good as anybody else's in they want
(01:56:55):
me back. If they want me back, that shows that's
almost more respect. We made a mistake, we should have
never got rid of you, or maybe the new the
regime is different as it is with the Lakers with
Magic Johnson stepping down. So yeah, I got no problem
with it, especially if it's a good situation, which the Lakers.
Are you about your money? All right? No, I'm rolling.
(01:57:17):
I mean think you got you gotta think about it
like this, right, like, especially if it wasn't a bad breakup,
which Tobias Harris wasn't a bad breakup with them? Like
why not, let's let's run it back kind of thing.
You know what I'm saying. Like money's the money, it's
gonna get spent, you know what I'm saying. So what
Tobias Harris going back to the to the Clippers or
(01:57:38):
you know, DeAngelo going to the Lakers. I mean, it's
what it's what it is. It's a business, you know
what I'm saying. And and they didn't. Both of them
didn't rubbed the organization wrong. So why not go back
and uh run it? All right? So all right? For
last we got Max. Kellerman was debating with Ryan Hollins
about whether or not Yanni's deserved to an MVP, and
(01:58:00):
at one point he hit below the belt and said,
let me tell you how good Janice is. It's hard
to imagine, Ryan Hollins. Imagine a guy your size but
really good at basketball, like Ryan, But are you trolling
or rolling with Kellerman's the big tackle? No way, And
(01:58:21):
when I hear it, it doesn't sound as bad. But
I'm still gonna troll, oh man, you know, because I
get it. For an NBA player, Ryan Hollins couldn't hoop
for an NBA player, okay, but compared to Max Kellerman,
compared to Chris Bruce Hard, Stephen A. Smith, any of us.
(01:58:42):
Ryan Hollins is nice. So I tend to give I Look,
I'll debate, I disagree with an ex player or a
pro athlete, but I do give them their respect understanding,
even if they weren't a star, even if they didn't
get any clock in the NBA, didn't play at all,
but sat on the end of the bench, that they
(01:59:03):
can play and they deserve respective player. So I'm a
I'm a troll Max on that one. Yeah we got
and you and Chris and I usually you know, agree
on everything, but I'm I'm I'm a poke at Ryan
a little bit, and I'm a bust Max in the head.
First of all, Max, I love you, and you're a
basketball professional one else, but I don't think you can box,
and uh, there you go, I mean don't box. Yeah,
(01:59:25):
I don't think you can box, and I don't think
you can play basketball. But I'm a roll with you.
I'm a roll with you. You know what I'm saying,
because yeah, Ryan got two left feet. Ryan got two
left feet. I love him, though he's good and he's
good commentation. But you got two left feet brothers. All right,
So I was a good trolling the roll on the segment.
We got the guy's opinions, and we'll catch you next
(01:59:46):
time with Martin White's back on trolling and rolling. I'm Manny.
Then turn and we're signing off. Manny. Nice, you did
a nice job, man I appreciate that, you know. And
I played with Manny's dad in college. Then you played
on the same basketball It was all right. Yeah, I
played my freshman year at Sea in the hall. I
was a walk on there. Okay, he's saying, nice, I
(02:00:08):
ain't seen you walk all right, it's the I couple.
Hope you enjoyed it. Coatino Mobley did a great job
feeling in for Ron Parker. I'm Chris Bruce Hart. Of course.
