(00:21):
R all. Yeah, it is the I Couple. I'm Chris
Bussard alongside my partner Rob Parker, and we're coming to
you live from the Geico Fox Sports Radio studios. Fifteen

(00:43):
minutes could save you fifteen percent more on your car insurance.
Visit Geico dot com for a free rate quote, and
we are glad to be with you on this TV
theme show. Thursday, we've got Ron Jaworski, the our former
colleague back at the Old Network, former Pro ball quarterback,
really one of the greatest NFL analysts in my view,

(01:07):
I really like Jaws. So we'll be hearing from him
in less than thirty minutes, so you definitely want to
keep it locked for him, but you want to keep
it locked for all three hours because we got a
great show headed your way, a lot of NFL talk,
a little bit of NBA talk, and a whole lot
of fun. Let me bring in my partner, Rod Parker.
What's happening man, what's happening? Mister Chris Bruchard, how are you?

(01:28):
I'm good? I saw some things on Twitter. You're raising
a ruckus? Who on TV Today? Who you? Who? Me?
I was just hanging out with skipping Shannon and then
with Colin on the Herd. It was an event or
crazy takes, I hear, just a couple you get. I
guess you'll get to him on our show as well. Yeah,

(01:50):
we'll talk a little bit. You know, the Taco Tuesday
thing came up with Lebron. We'll do that. But yeah,
everything is great. How you I'm good man, and I
am all good? All good. Let's get the Eye Couple
crew out there. That's right, let's welcome in to it
the Couple crew. You know what, Christie wouldn't be able
to do this fine radio program without him. Of course,

(02:11):
Rob g is our producer, Alex is our engineer, Mister
Steve de Sager's at the anchor desk. He'll keep us
updated throughout the program. Mike the intern is here, and
of course Elijah, our social media guru. And so they're
all in full effect. Everybody's on the other side of

(02:33):
the glass. Come on, Chris Bissot on this TV theme.
So on Thursday, let's kick some ass. Let's do just that.
And when is the last time, Rob that you heard
of a football player? Maybe I missed it, but I
can't remember a football player being out for mino? Yeah,

(02:53):
can you? No, you're right, I haven't heard that. I
may be wrong, but I tend to think of that
as like a young person's disease. It's like a kissing disease,
isn't it. That's what they say. I had it in college.
I had down in college. Tell me who are you?
That's private information? So you actually the girl I was

(03:14):
dating my wife at that time. She gave you mono. No, no, no,
but that's who I was dating. So it was my
junior year at college. I missed about two or three weeks. Yeah,
it's something very contagious, right, I mean yeah, I was
down your low on energy. It's definitely contagious. Part of
me thought, man, if I was a pro athlete and

(03:37):
I had to get out there and play, because I've
played with it. No, but college Division three I didn't
play through it. But it is contagious. That's the I
think that they want to keep him away from all
the other players. That's the main thing. That's what they're
really afraid of. And and uh, you know what a blow.
And you know what, I don't think this is prison
of the moment. The Jets season just ended up right there.

(04:00):
Well he's out. Yeah, I mean, if you look at this,
you were the only one in America that thought they
were gonna have any type of season. Anyone I thought
they had a good show. You're just trying to get
out of it. You can't get out of it. I
didn't say anything, now ever, did you let me. I'm
saying if we had a bet, I have the vegans vague,
I would not. You can't get out. You got to

(04:21):
stick with your Jets. I'm just saying I wouldn't. If
I had a bet with you over Jordan, I would
owe you a pair of Jordans. I would pay it.
I'm admirable. Oh you're gonna get some Jordans. Yeah you're
gonna in fifty cents, but you're gonna get your Jordans.
You're gonna you're gonna pay off. You finally decided you
gonna pay off if I find something for like under

(04:43):
thirty dollars, you're getting the homopu what what kind of
Jordans of those? I don't know, but there's come on,
you know I'm in the right on that. It's you understood.
We won't get all into that. I'm just saying, you
gotta stick with your Jets pick. No. I didn't back
down from it. But I'm telling you this season said
the seasons old. Don't mean as you said, they're making
the playoffs. Now you're saying the seasons over. When you
get their quarterback to get monoled after the first week

(05:08):
of the season, and now when you look at the schedule,
what's gonna what's gonna playoffs? No jokes, It's just it's
just a bad spot for them to be and they
need dear Guy Brown's Patriots, Eagles, Cowboys, Patriots. I mean,
that's what I'm saying. Oh my gosh. Then they get
the Dolphins, they get a reprieve there midway. It lightens up.

(05:32):
After the Jaguars, who they may not even be that tough.
You got the Dolphins in November November three, the Giants,
the red Skins, three teams that you know aren't very good.
But the craters, the Bengals, the Dolphins, so they gotta
reprieve in that little stretch. Only problem is you could

(05:54):
be in such a big hole and that's the price. Right.
But on top of that, Levion, well I just had
it was more of a precautionary one. Yeah, but you know,
is he is? He definitely playing Sunday. I just said,
but they said he was a precautionary X ray. It
wasn't like, okay, so yeah, no major damage, so we'll
we'll see, uh if he's playing Sunday. But yeah, um

(06:18):
so there it is. So you're trying to get out
of it. I'm not the Jets, but let me make
my point on this. All right, this is the point.
I thought the point was that they're done. No, but
this is what This is the point. And this is
the first thing I thought of. When this thing happened
today and the news came down, I said, here we go,
further proof that Rob Parker is right. Rob Parker once

(06:42):
again the trend setter, the guy ahead of the curve,
the guy who knows what's always happened before it happens.
Because Tom Brady is officially the load, the luckiest of
all time. You know what, Antonio Brown falls into his lap.
I mean, everybody's thinking he's out of the league. All

(07:04):
the Raiders released him, nobody wants him. What'd he do?
He winds up in New England with a forty two
year old quarterback who needs him now serious, the only
quarterback who could challenge Tom Brady in the AFC. Least
he has modo. He's gonna be out for three or
four weeks. This gives them the Patriots a thirteen and

(07:26):
three record. All they gotta do is win two lousy
home games to get to the super Bowl again. He's
the luckiest guy on this planet. It all lines to Brady.
He wanted to go there. Yeah, it's really turning this
into a treatise on time. Yes, this is what has
happened to him his whole career. I don't did he
make a deal with the devil? I don't know what

(07:48):
it is. Everything works out for Tom Brady. First of all,
you forgot something in your in your bragging about yourself
with all your titles, the one who knows things in advance,
what's coming down on the pipe, the one who should
be in Mexico too. How about that one? I told
him should be living in Mexico. All right, but Ida

(08:08):
for the weekend I was in Mexico, he is, this
is ridiculous. First of all, the Jets. I don't care
if Sam Darnald was healthy. I don't care if Levian
Bell's shoulder wasn't nicked up a little bit. There's still
a weak team. This is your this is your moment.

(08:28):
This is the season that this is what turns around
the Patriots season. Ye now the Jet wasn't Darnald healthy
last week? Yeah, but that it's Buffalo. If that's the case,
didn't then Bill Jets aren't even the second best team
in the week division. Yeah they were. They were gonna
be better than the Bills. That was a lucky game
by the Bills. The Bills beat them. I'm not sure

(08:52):
it's a short menu. I heard somebody once say it's
a short menu on football. It's funny because it's in
losses when all I have to go and in week
one and entering week two is who won last week?
Buffalo beat the Jets. That means, right now, Buffalo's better.
So that that worked out for you and this one.
But when it was the Brown's losing in week one.

(09:14):
You want to tell everybody it's jet week one. It didn't.
It didn't Week one. You're gonna have to say the
whole season over because in Week one, I just don't bail.
That's all. I didn't make the playoffs. I'm sticking with him.
I don't say that season's over some people. I'm just
the realist. I'm being honest. All right, let me let

(09:34):
me get to your point, all right, Tom Brady the load, Yes, Rob,
I'm gonna dismantle this point by point. All right, here
are the leading receivers for Tom Brady's first three Super Bowls,
Troy Brown, Dion Branch and David Givvens. I guarantee you
never even heard of David Givvings that one Pro Bowl

(09:57):
between them. Oh and I forgot one of the other
guys in the future years Richet called well then Wes
Welker Julian Elman, a former quarterback in the Mac can't
stay all right, He's you gonna say he's lucky when
those are guys who were his leading receivers throughout his career.

(10:19):
And then he did get a few primetime receivers, a
few Blue Chippers, Randy Moss, but Randy was violatile. Randy
had some issues. Rob Gronkowski, he's hurt a lot. He's
a Hall favor What are you talking about? He's not
gonna be super Bowl. He was also good enough that

(10:39):
he's gonna get into the Hall of Fame playing for
the Patriots. Just or no, Chris now' he is a
Hall of Fame. His career is ended prematurely. I can
say that's bad luck for Brady. He's twenty nine years old,
he's retired. That's bad luck for Brady. Antonio' Brown, that's lucky.
Ye really? That the one that doesn't know if he

(11:01):
wants to play because it's helm me doesn't look cute.
That one, the one who gets frost bite on his feet.
That one. The best receiver in the league. Tom Brady's
forty two. He needs all the help he can. And
when I talk about luck, Chris, you can talk about
the Scraggley receivers your name and I'm talking about uh

(11:21):
when the when when he with the tuck rule, Tom
Brady fumbled the ball, got it back from the Raiders, right,
Rob g that was the legitimate that No, that wasn't.
He got the rule later? Right? But what what about Uh,
the Carolina Panthers kicking the ball out of bounds. Give
tom Brady the ball at the forty yard line. That's
another super Bowl. He that that helps him with the

(11:44):
Ram's lucky last year. Wait minute, we're talking about the
Patriots and Tom Brady. Everybody's got Can we talk about
Seattle reception and the one yard line? How dare you
not run the ball in with the best receiver? Then
the Atlanta Atlanta Falcons are up twenty eight to three
and they don't run the ball in the second half,

(12:05):
and they choked to Tom Brady in that game. Tom
Brady should have to three. It sounds like he still
had to put a lot of points on the ball.
Tom Brady should have one super Bowl maybe too stop
And I've never seen anything like it. And now you're
gonna send him to the super Bowl again. This is unbelievable. Wow,
you're giving him. I mean just because you win your division.
You say it, you said it off like two Measley

(12:27):
home game. That's not easy to do. The Kansas City
I saw Kansas City's defense. I'm not impressed. Kansas City
is a legit team. You know the coaches, he's a
very good coach. He's an offensive gene. He's a choker.
How about the race a choker cho off Pittsburgh. Oh yeah,

(12:51):
did you watch Pittsburg Chargers? You love the Chargers last year.
Natin gotta go through all these teams, Jfcauld you win
your division, met is nothing. You still have to win
two games and they may not have the best record
in the end. Time we kill is gone or the
George back by the player. George's lost. What they lose
their safety? They live back Derwin, James Derwin, James Melvin

(13:16):
Gordon holding. Now they got so many issues that Eckler
is about to be a Pro Bowl. It's just an automatic.
It's a it's a lay up. Here we go again.
Tom Brady is the load. I want you to dispute
that he the look gets them all time. Demolished you. No,
you did not demolish me. Let's hear what the listeners think.

(13:37):
Eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox eight seven seven
nine nine six sixty three sixty nine. What do you say?
It's Tom Brady the Load, the luckiest of all time
or not. We'll continue the conversation with you next. It's
the Eye Couple of Fox Sports Radio. Tom Brady could
do that. Tom Brady could do that. No can be

(13:59):
sure to catch live editions of The Odd Couple with
Chris Brussard and Rob Parker week days at seven pm
Eastern four pm Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the
iHeart Radio app. It's the I Couple. I gotta say something.
You shouldn't start with that one the day Rob didn't
earn it the way I slaughtered him. Just now, please

(14:22):
he didn't. Now you're like you should have led King
of Queens? Do you know the tradition? Chris? Right? But
but I mean he's got to make a better showing
the in the first segment, Chris, you kind of beat
him to a Paul. I gotta make him feel good.
Why now now you're stroking Chris? Huh? Whoa? Oh? We
got Lilian online too for your own rack. That don't

(14:44):
rack that when you put it that way, all right,
We are brought to you by a truecar car shop.
It could be confusing terms like dealer, price, list, price,
and invoice. That's why you need truecar because true car

That way you can recognize a good price from a
bad one. When you're radied to buy new or even

car buying experience. All right, Rob, we'll Chris real quick. YEA,

(15:09):
our first anniversary is a week? Is it a week? Rob?
G the seventeenth? Today's next week? So what were you
like five days away? A year old? Is that unbelievable?
We'll have a very special show a great year on
the seventeenth. We're gonna have a lot something special for everybody.
So I just want to give everybody a heads up. Okay, Yes,
we do accept gifts, and it is a trash talking Tuesday,

(15:31):
so you can tryt see other shows on Fox Sports Radio.
I'm sorry you think somebody will trash us probably on
our on our anniversary. Will see it'll probably be nice
to us on that day. Yeah, all right, well let's
see what the callers thing. All right, let's do that.
Let's start off with Eric and Washington. You're on the
odd couple of Fox Sports Radio. What's up? Eat? Yeah? No, Rob,

(15:53):
my man, my man, you are absolutely without a shred
of a doubt, right, no doubt. Go ahead, I gotta
hear this, I gotta hear this completely. Did you hear.
That ys the receivers. Chris, there's nothing you need to hear,
because you're already your mind has already made up. You're

(16:14):
a true fan of Tom Brady, and it shows I'm not.
I'm a true telling Chris. Come on, man, let's be
for real. He's a good guy, he's a great guy.
But you're too much. You're just not seeing the true picture.
The true picture is so many teams have failed on
their own and it gave the win to Tom Brady. Yes,

(16:36):
he was just so lucky that whole aspect, but the
one he wasn't lucky. The fumble shows exactly what Tom
Brady has always been. He's a fumbler. He fumbles, but
luckily the other teams mess up more than he does,
so he takes advantage of it. Now they're down twenty
eight to three. He was given all that right. He

(16:56):
didn't do anything to lead that come back for him.
They rushed the ball three times in the second half
of a game. You're up twenty eight to three. Chris,
I'm not even a football coach, and I know you're
supposed to run the ball at eight clock when you're
leading that big How if here run the ball and
it still didn't work. Everybody would have said, oh, we

(17:17):
played scared. No, I'm not saying I didn't. I didn't say.
You know what they would have said, No, you would
have say. But how they got the head was they
rushed the football. Chris, go back and look at the time.
But they rushed. They rushed for over one hundred yards
in the first half. How can you run for over
one hundred yards in the first half and rush three

(17:38):
times in the second half? That ain't true? How lucky
is this the game in which you set the playoffs
not just Super Bowl record, playoff record for most yards
thrown forward in a playoff game? You lose? Well because
it's not Tom, How about that you don't have time?

(17:59):
Down right miracle from God? You know that? Will And
all right? During the odd couple of Fox Sports Radio,
what's up? Will? Hey? Rob? Chris, It's good to hear you,
always a fan of the show. In the discussion, but
I'm sorry, Rob, you got you got your Fox mixed up?
Because Tom Brady that two m fame careers on into

(18:22):
each other based on two words alone, And that is
hard work. This man is dedicated more than he is
lucky And It's impressive to see what he's done with
that various cast of characters, time end and time out.
And to suggests for even a second that it's luck
base to get to as many Super Bowls as this

(18:43):
man has and win six of them is a crazy
will did Tom the ball against the Raiders? Jess? No? Will?
Yes or no? Did? David Hyree? I'm asking you will
answer my question, helmet job, will answer my question? Yes
or no? Did? Okay? Thank you? All right, thank you?

(19:04):
Thanks for the call. Will great call, Mark and Sacramento.
You're on the eye couple, Fox Sports Radio. What you got?
What's up? Gentlemen? What's man? You know? You know this
is the one subject that you and me are on.
Would you please slept Chris's lip? Stop stop Brady's but
you don't let him like damn, I'm a waiter fan.

(19:27):
That wasn't no tuck roud. That was another word for that.
That was a recording the friends. Everybody knows and I
tell you they did not give me the bottom Marshal
this and when it pays saddle the baby parts. There
is the Patriots, the Mars No God wanted to stop Marshall.
I mis rom getting that a yard if they're getting
the Bowl and everybody knows that, Chris, just just do

(19:50):
it on this one. Talk to you guys later. All right,
I'm not saying hello, I'm not saying he hasn't caught
some breaks. All right, he's called some breaks, But who
has it? Did Terry brash I'll catch a break when
Frank O'Haras caught the immaculate rad But even with all
those Super Bowl wings, nobody calls Terry Bradshaw to goal.
That's the difference because that's why he's not because they're

(20:12):
taking the considerations of other stuff. How about Marty, Uh,
Marty in Kentucky, you're in the odd couple of fox
sportuated what you got, Marty, Hey fellas, I can't believe
that Jens will keeping Sam jing On the worst of
the team. If they watch the game, that's week they no,
they can't catch anything from him even when they're trying.
Oh man, that was pretty good. That was good. Now

(20:35):
that that being said, the over hyped Browns will lose
the trayor Simmeon and the Jets this week. Leby arm
Pell is going to salivate when he sees the Browns
Joses he's been running over his whole career. Now, Tom
Brady is not the load. Those are good points that breaks.
He caught the super Bowl. But everybody to tell you
the hardest part of winning the Super Bowl. He's getting
there and he's got their nine times. Great call. I'm

(20:59):
not out with you on the Jets winning this week, Marty,
But otherwise you made some good plays. The funny jokes too.
I'm surprised. Yeah, he's funnier than you, Rob, No, he
ain't funnier than me. All right, Rob, you I think
you love him just like I love him. Our man
Jaws from the old Network, Ron Jawartski knows a fing

(21:21):
or two about the quarterback position, no doubt about it.
He could settle this time Brady debate once and for all.
That's next, But first, Fox Sports Radio has the best
sports talk lineup in the nation. Catch all of our
shows at Foxsports Radio dot com and within the iHeart
Radio app. Search f SR to listen live. If it
is the I Couple coming you live from the Geico

(21:43):
Fox Sports Radio studios. It's easy to say fifteen percent
of more on your car insurans with Geico. Go to
Geico dot com or call eight hundred nine four seven auto.
The only hard part is figuring out which way is easier. Rob.
The bright news for Team USA is after falling into
that twenty five point hole, they dominated. After that, they

(22:07):
outscored Serbia by twenty oh very nice. So you're happy
about that? Are you kidding me? Chris? I am, I am,
I am kidding you. I am kidding you. All right,
let's get to a favorite of both Robs and myself.
I've learned so much just from listening to this guy
talk about the NFL washed him as a quarterback. He
was a pro bowler with the Philadelphia Eagles. Now an

(22:29):
NFL analysts. It's our man, jaws Ron Jaworski. Rob. Welcome
to the Eye Couple, Chris, Rob, greatfu with you, guys.
Always enjoy spending time with him. Talking a little ball. Yes, yeah, well,
there's so much to talk about. And let's get to
the point Rob and I were talking earlier on the show.
Rob thinks Tom Brady's the luckiest quarterback of all. Now

(22:51):
let me give let me give gas, Jaws let me,
I mean, he's the butt me before Chris, go ahead,
let me spend let me just get it out all right.
I'm not saying that Tom Brady's not a great player,
but a lot of things have gone his way. That's
why I call him the luckiest of all time. Jaws
real quick. The tuck rule. I went to a Super Bowl.

(23:11):
Let me give him. Let me give him a couple
of balls. Answer the tuck rule. When they beat Carolina,
the kicker kicked the ball out of bounds. Seattle's at
the one yard line with the best running back in
football at the time, they don't run the ball in
the Atlanta's up twenty eight to three. They run the
ball three times in the second half, they have in

(23:32):
field goal range, and they could have put the game away.
They don't kick it or whatever, and they lose that game.
All I'm saying is a lot of things. This was
his last and then Arnold's got mine, and now he
gets the best receiver in football, and the one quarterback
who could have put up any kind of fight in
the East now has Mino. The Jet season is over.
He's lucky. Luck is the residue of hard work, No doubt.

(23:59):
Tom Brady one of the hardest working guys in the NFL.
Over his twenty year career and we all know good
fortune is always part of life, and those aforementioned good
fortunate plays that have for Tom Brady certainly have propelled
him to me to be the greatest quarterback of all time.
But I also love the culture he's in that. You know,
as I get ready for the regular season, you know,

(24:22):
rather than just the exes and os, I study each
team's front office. You know, their general manager, their personnel department,
their coaching staff, where they're spending money on analytics or nutrition,
and I kind of get a precursor of you know,
where teams are in that regard, because you have to
develop a winning culture, and the Patriots over the years

(24:44):
have developed that and they make the situation for Tom
Brady really very livable. You know, they surround him with
the right people. They make trades for draft choices that
bring in more, better, more and better players. So certainly,
you know, luck is part of it, but he's one
of the hardest working guys. And when you look at
the organizations, and I think it's a huge advantage jaws.

(25:07):
Let's stay with quarterbacks. But Cliff Kingsbury said that, you know,
they play the Ravens the Cardinals. In the Ravens this
week Kyler Murray Lamar Jackson, he said they could be
the future of the quarterback position. Do you see those
two guys as precursors from what made me ten years
from now? Most quarterbacks in NFL look like well, in

(25:29):
a small sampling, I would agree with that. I'd like
to see it play out a little bit longer, particularly
with Kyler Murray. You know, I mean, obviously, he had
an unbelievable fourth quarter last week. I'm watching that game,
and you know he couldn't hit water if you fell
out of a boat for three quarters, and the team
looked off on the fourth quarter. Who are these guys?
You know? You know, you know they look like the

(25:50):
you know, the Dick Vermila Rams with Kurt Warner and
Marshall Faulk the Greatest Show on Turf. You know, it
was an unbelievable fourth quarter. And again we all know
the guy has tremen insability. You know. Lamar Jackson certainly
threw the ball very well, and that was always the
question mark. No one questioned his ability. Could he have
that repetitive accuracy that is so important in the NFL?
You know, yeah he did last week? How good are

(26:12):
the Dolphins. They're not very good. You know, most people
had him pegged as the worst team in football coming
into the season, and they validated that. That feeling real
quick week one. But I love I love Lamar Jackson.
I love the way he plays the game. You know,
now we're gonna see can he take the hits? And
that's guys. I love the mobile quarterback. You know, I
played with the guy here in Philadelphian and Randall cunning him.

(26:33):
But the problem you have is they take too many hits,
and the Carson Wentz is the world playing great, You
get hurt. The next year, comes back, plays great, gets
hurt again. Mobile quarterbacks run because they can, and they
get hurt because they run. I love what I saw
from Carson Wentz. I mean they got down big in
that game, and I think wins in the lifetime is back.

(26:56):
I mean I loved that big comeback and what he
was able to do. Tell me about him, question, no question.
You know you know I was at the game, you know,
watch the game live. You know, I get home in
about six hours later. The guys the NFL films have
my computer all wired up for me. I can look
at the all twenty two and I watched the game
in the All twenty two and what I really liked

(27:17):
was I saw a maturation in Carson Wentz. You know,
he didn't play a snap in the preseason, so you
really don't know what to expect week one. But what
I saw it was a quarterback that showed tremendous maturity.
You know, the I manipulation looking safeties off. He knew
where he wanted to go with the football, but he
was giving his receiver's time and space to uncover and
give him more area to throw the football into. I

(27:39):
saw a mature quarterback. The movement in the pocket was
really really good. You know. The two touchdown passes to
Sean Jackson and one two Ashan Jeffrey were both movement
type quarterback, but the subtle movement guys, not the movement
to run and make plays with your legs, but to
allow your receiver time. Offensive lineman miss the block, he
avoids it and makes that offensive him and looked good

(28:00):
because he throws for a touchdown pass. Those are the
little nuance today saw on tape that showed me Carson
Winch is maturing in his fourth year as an NFL quarterback.
Ron Jaworski joining us here on the odd couple. Jaws,
I've always liked Dak Prescott. I think he's got the
intangibles of a winning quarterback. He's a winner, he's a leader,

(28:21):
he's high character. I think he's loved in that locker room.
In game one this season, I saw the physical tools.
I saw a big improvement and stuff. He had better receivers.
Why better receivers than he's had before, Please got a
better play caller and Kellen Moore, and I thought he

(28:43):
looked great. Jaws, I think with his intangibles and now
the way he looks like he's throwing the football better,
I think he's in route to becoming an elite quarterback. However,
be Aaron Rodgers. First of all, guys, I have to
agree with both of you as the couple. The Giants
defense is pretty dreadful. We'll we'll give that at the moment.

(29:07):
But I actually thought the best performance of the weekend
was by Dak Prescott. And you know, he looked very,
very comfortable within this offensive scheme that Kellen Kellen Clements
has installed in Dallas. He looked very comfortable and I
love the the array of throws that He had the
bevy of different launch points that he had, the play action,

(29:29):
the movement, the deep goes with the touch on it,
you know, the zingers on the deep ends, the touch
pass in the flat, the pinpoint accuracy. He just looked
comfortable to me. He looked like he was having fun.
And I believe right now Dallas Cowboys are probably gonna
pay him as well. But j you know, elite is

(29:52):
very special, and you know, I hate to like just
project guys into the top. You know, the the Drew
Breese category, you know, the Aaron Rodgers category. You know,
I want guys to earn that before I before I
slapped that elite category on him. But I think, you know,
from what I saw throughout his career, what I saw,
you know, against the Giants on Sunday night, he's certainly
trending in the right direction. Let me say this. Uh,

(30:15):
you know, he had four hundred yards in four touchdowns,
second time in his career he's done both. All you
gotta look at it that that doesn't when a guy
has beats up a bad team. And if you look
at it, the Giants didn't sack him. He wasn't even
a pressure about throughout most of the game. I'm just
talking about the giant. I'm not going to disagree. Hey,

(30:35):
but you know what, that's not his fault. He was
supposed to do advantage of a defense. No he did.
But I'm just saying I'm not going to crown a
guy off of that of of what's the name Fitzpatrick
last year had four or four hundred yard games in
just eight starts last year, and he beat way better teams.
He beat the Saints, he beat the Eagles, way better teams,

(30:57):
and nobody thinks he's an elite quarterback. That's all I'm
saying is glad. I'm glad you mentioned Ryan Fitzpatrick's name
because you know, you guys may know this, but maybe
a lot of your listening audience do not. You know,
he broke an NFL record last week. Ryan Fitzpatrick. He
threw a touchdown pass for his eighth team, play or

(31:20):
eight teams and throwing a touchdown NFL record. I mean,
that's really hard to do. Guys, play on eight teams,
make that team every throw a touchdown pass, reach team.
That is. He definitely has his own niche jobs. Before
you go, we got about a minute or two left, Oh, man,
you guys getting rid of me too quick. We'll go,
We'll go two minutes. We'll go to you. You were

(31:42):
one of the biggest fans of Colin Kaepernick. You thought
he could be an all time great. Does it bother you?
I mean, he clearly is good enough to be in
the league. Does it bother you that he's not in
the league? Yes, it does. You know, as a football fan,
I know I thought Colin Kaepernick was a tremendous talent
and back. You know, you know his last year as

(32:02):
a quarterback with the forty nine ers, when everything started
to blow up for him. You know, I went back
and watched all the tapes of his games. You know,
there's a lot of talk of, you know, why he's
not getting the opportunity. I can only see this. I
don't know the reason why. But the guy can still
play quarterback in the NFL. And I'm going back two years.
I don't know where he is right now, what condition
he's in. But you know, when he couldn't get a job,
it was alarming to because he had athletic ability, quarterback

(32:26):
ability to be a starter in the NFL. So you
think even that last year in San Francisco. He was
pretty good. Yes, he wasn't that bad. People. There's a
lot of direct playing quarterback in this league, guys right now,
there's a lot of it. There's it's been rift of
depth of the quarterback position. I would tell you, guys,
when you go home tonight, look at the starting quarterback

(32:48):
at every on every team, the starting quarterback. Then start
looking at the backup quarterbacks around this league. Oh my god.
Let's the rift of talent. It's terrible. And they, I
mean they're going get getting guys out of retire and
getting guys from the Arena Football League. I mean it's
just not enough. Guy, where is Kurt Warren? I got
guys on the Philadelphia soul of the Arena Football League.
I know they deserve an opportunity. Well, Jaws, man, we

(33:12):
loved getting back together with you and we definitely want
to have you on very soon. All right, beautiful man,
I love the odd couple. Thank you having me ye Jaws,
by the way, I'm Oscar No, No, he's feeling. He's feeling.
You know that you work with Christy. Come on, we
want to take this show on TV. Right, that's right.
You can follow Ron Jaworski Jaws as we call him

(33:35):
at jaws ceo QB. That's at jaws ceo QB, one
of the best analysts out there in the NFL. All right,
make sure that you stay tuned on The Odd Couple
because it's the NFL's equivalent of a participation trophy. We'll
explain next. It's The Eye Couple. Fox Sports Radio. Be

(33:56):

Rob park and Rob. I've got some great news for
you and the Eye Couple audience. You can watch tonight's
Bucks Panthers game or Hulu. I know it sounds too

(34:19):
good to be true, but it's not. And in addition
to Thursday Night Football, Hulu also has Sunday Night Football
and Monday Night Football. No, you can't, Chris, I want
to get huluud. I want to be able to see
as much NFL as possible. They've got more than the NFL.

(34:39):
You can watch the biggest football games, sporting events, in
other sports, news and shows with Hulu. They got over
sixty channels, all without a cable subscription. You gotta start
your free trial today. There's a live TV plan that
is required. Restrictions do apply, but you can learn more
at hulu dot com and make sure you check out

(35:00):
to night's game of Course on Hulu. Rob, what should
they do? Go get Hulu? All right, you've been dying
to say that. That's good. That's good, that's good. All right,
tonight we mentioned it. You got a big Thursday night
football game on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers the Carolina Panthers. Rob.

(35:22):
I know they're not world beaters, but I'm I'm excited
about this game. I'm glad you want to tell you
why Jamis Winston. I know most people probably think he's
a dog that you know, he's never gonna be anything special,
But I want to see He's got talent. He does
so too many interceptions, but I'm still not sold that

(35:46):
he's a complete bus. He's been a bus to this point. No,
I'm not sold that he'll never get it right. So
I want to see him and then Cam. Look, I
think Carolina is a good team and Cam Newton obviously
is one of the best playmakers in the league. I
want to see if they can get their act together
and get off that losing streak. I just want to
know it's a crab leg night tonight down and Charlott, No,

(36:11):
you're not interested in this game, so not really. I mean,
I'll watch it because it's Thursday night football and not
too much. But I'm not like jacked over the Bucks
and the Panthers. But I get it. Everybody has to
get on a national TV game, right, That's kind of
a part of the being a part of the league
or whatnot. But there's some other matchups I would definitely
would rather see, but I get it. And then this

(36:34):
the same matchup, Chris, which is not strange, but this
is gonna be the National International game in uh over
in London, right uh the Bucks and the and the
Panthers are gonna play again and that game will be
on uh as the Big International broadcast. Yeah no, no,
no question about it. But look when the season or

(36:57):
before the season, when they made this schedule, you would
have thought this would have been a good game. And
it may be. I mean, it's week two, could turn out,
but look, Tampa Bay, you had Bruce Arians coming in
to work with the talented Jamis Winston. Now we know
Winston's got his issues, but he does have talent as well.
So you're thinking, okay, arians, you know, maybe who works

(37:19):
some magic with Winston? And then Cam and all the
talk in the off season was old. The Panthers improved
their offensive line. Cam changes throwing motion. So the Panthers
are a good team. And don't forget Christian McCaffrey. Christian McCaffrey.
We talked last week. He was on He was in

(37:40):
for every offensive play last week. The dude is nice.
They didn't take him out at all, which they shouldn't
run him into the ground. They better be careful. And
I was gonna say, Chris a running back play. He
was in on every play if I read that correctly,
which is just you don't hear that anymore, dude, y'all know, No, No,
I mean that is rare, especially nowadays. Uh. He is tremendous,

(38:01):
But they gotta be careful. You do not want to
run that guy into the ground. I know he's in
great shape, he works out hard and all that, but
they gotta be careful. You and I talked last week,
you know about who was the last great white running back?
He obviously is it? Well, what was the other guy?
We have mentioned Chris Jane Jane, But then what was
the other guy? Peyton Hill? Peyton Hills. He was ten

(38:24):
minutes right, he had his fifteen He had a cup
of coffee in the sweet rollers. But McCaffrey's legit. I
mean he's in the running like he's I mean, it's
week one, but just based off last year and what
he did last his dad was he d was and uh,
but McCaffrey's the real deal. But I'm with you. I

(38:46):
I went when I hear that he played every down
of last last week's game. Yeah, I just might be
a little bit overkilled. And now you're on a short,
short week too. They they gotta be careful, but we
might be surprised if I hope it's a good game.
But I'm just saying I'm not anticipating it being one.
But Chris, it could wind up being one. Yeah, you

(39:09):
never know, And there's nothing worse because I do look
forward to the Monday night games. I didn't. I don't
like the doubleheaders, yes, but that's just opening right, But
I look forward to the Monday night game the Thursday
in all the games, But those two nights as well,
because there's one game and there's nothing worse than when
it's a bad game. So hopefully to night's lives up

(39:30):
to it. It's the I Couple. We got two hours left.
You know what to do. Keep it locked. Be sure
to catch live editions of The Odd Couple with Chris
Brussard and Rob Parker week days at seven pm Eastern

for a free rate quote and Rob. This week, we
talked about the matchup and whether or not you're excited
about this matchup tonight between the Buccaneers and the Carolina Panthers.

(40:35):
I tell you one matchup I'm super excited about this
week and that is the Arizona Cardinals and the Baltimore Ravens.
Really you're not I mean, hold on, Lamar Jackson versus
Kyler Murray. That doesn't excite you. Blowout? I'm looking for

(40:56):
a blow in that game. No, it might be. I
mean we looked obviously, the Ravens looked tremendous Miami defensively
and offensively. Miami is get to two young quarterbacks and
you want to watch that. But I don't know about
us as a football game. It well, it may be
a blowout, but yeah, I'm looking at storyline. So even

(41:18):
if it's a blowout, wouldn't it excite you if Lamar
goes out there and throws for four touchdowns and three
hundred something yards runs for seventy yard? You know what
I mean? Like, because that's the thing I'm really intri
you know. And I think we're on the same page
on this. I have not been one that has bought in.

(41:38):
I've pulled for him, but I've been bought into the
Lamar Jackson is going to, you know, change football narrative.
Like I have not thought that. I didn't think. I
don't think you can run as much as he's run
last year he didn't run a lot in Week one,
but I don't think you can run as much as
he ran last year and remain healthy. Jaws even said,

(42:01):
you take a lot of hits. And all the guys
that ran, Donovan McNabb, Randall Cunningham, Michael Vick, cam Newton, Steven,
they're all bigger, much bigger than Lamar Jackson. And I
didn't think he threw it well enough to be a
great pocket passer. Now last week he proved me wrong.
He looked great. Not only obviously guys were open, he

(42:24):
had plenty of time, but he also made some great
throws into some tight windows, and so he was impressive.
I want to see if he can keep that train going.
So that excites me, and I'll let you comment, but
I could say, you know, I feel same issues or
similar thoughts about Kyler Murray. So that's what excites me

(42:44):
about this game. Yeah. I mean from that standpoint, to
see those two young guys, a second year quarterback in
a rookie Kyler Murray disappointing for three quarters, really was
just looked awful, and then all of a sudden, he
looked awful awful. I mean, I just was like what
and don't you think people look, I get it, he was.

(43:04):
He was bad, and he was hyped, right, But for
a rookie quarterback to look awful in the first half,
and really, as you said, first three, first three quarters,
Frost game, heck for to look awful his whole first game,
it's nothing unusual. No, no, no, I mean we live
in a society now where it's all about instant gratification,

(43:27):
so you know, nobody's really ready to give him any
time to grow and develop. But it wasn't unusual that
he looked so bad early on. No, I'm just saying,
but but it was. I thought. I look at both
of those games, and I know he came back in
the second half. I don't I don't know, Chris. I
wasn't watching it that closely at the end to know

(43:49):
how what the defense was when you're obviously there in
some previous right you know what I mean, you're up,
You're up twenty four to six, right, right, So you
I mean defensively, you you do pull back a little
bit and you allow them to throw the ball in
front of you, do you know what I mean? So
that's just that's not taking anything away from him. It's
just the way football's played. And it's the same thing

(44:11):
with with Lamar Jackson and and you know where the
where the Dolphins are. Dude, these to us to make
the plays and they're out on the field and I'm
not gonna pooh pooh what he did. But that's a
bad football team. I don't know what pressure that. It's
a bad football team that may have quit halfway. Yeah,
you know really, Chris, and I think that that's fair

(44:32):
to say. And we've heard about the reports right after
that about players calling their agents after that, like getting
me out of Miami. I don't want to be here
right like like it wasn't just that they lost, and
like this is awful. They're tanking. We don't have any
talent here. We're gonna get embarrassed every week and could
get hurt and could get hurt out there getting steamrolled

(44:55):
and uh even hardball going forward up big, going forward
on four down, like like it was. I'm glad you
brought that up because my take generally robbed and I
get people saying, oh, you're rubbing it in and you
know you didn't have to do that. The game's over.
But these are professionals and my take is always if

(45:17):
you don't like it, stop them. Don't do anything dirty,
but stop them from kicking your butt. Don't get mad
when the team is up twenty and they take a
three point there at the end of the game or
a dunk, you should have got mad and stopped them
during the game. This is not cy oh, It's not YBA,
the y m c A or junior high high school ball,

(45:39):
anything like that. This is not Michigan against Appalachian State,
although I know that ended badly for Michigan one year,
but maybe that was a bad the wrong, not Ohio
State and the costs h Lloyd Carr's job. That was
the beginning of the YA right. But you know what
I'm saying, like, that's I take, Rob, I'm sorry, you're professionals,

(46:02):
You're being paid to do it. I'm not gonna lose
any sleep over the fact that somebody pounded you erubbed
it in. Well. You know, things have changed. It used
to be there were certain things you didn't do, and
that was one of them. Same thing, Chris, you remember
taking threes at the end of an NBA game when
you're a big players took its offense to that. Now
people just seem like, no matter what the score'll take offense.

(46:26):
But you know what I mean, it's just it's not
as frowned upont not as much as it used to be.
It used to be a big problem. But uh yeah,
I guess I could see where a team would be like,
really you need to, like, you know, jam it down
our throats and try to score on a fourth down
play instead of just kicking the field goal. And then again,
I'm not playing both sides, but if you're trying to

(46:49):
work out plays and you're like they're probably trying to
figure it out like on a fourth down, and one
can can this work? And it's an opportunity to do
it and get some working, especially when the game is
out of Regott there's no game, Yeah right, there's no game. Yeah,
I agree with that. Now, the Cardinals coach Cliff Kingsbury,
who's got a lot to prove himself, all right, because

(47:09):
remember he told everybody who was gonna wait till you
see his offense, he's gonna revolution Nazi NFL. Oh yeah,
we didn't show you anything in preseason and all that.
We didn't see anything in the first three quarters either,
So you're right about that you're right about that. But
he was talking about these two quarterbacks, and here's what
he's said. I don't think we have it on audio.
Is that true, Robi? Okay, I'm just gonna read it.

(47:31):
Cliff Kingsbury told Report is this yesterday talking about Kyler
Murray and Lamar Jackson. It's two very dynamic playmakers, no question,
they could be the future of football if they continue
to work and develop. Now here's something that John Harbaugh,
of course, the Ravens coach, said as well. He talked

(47:52):
about Lamar Jackson and his offense kind of changing the
game as well. He said this about those two guys
being so mobile. The mobility at that position is not
something that's new. But maybe the speed and the ability
of these guys to really get out and run are
more like Michael Vick, who's a more recent phenomenon. I

(48:14):
would expect more and more of it in the league,
for sure. So do you think, Okay, go ahead from
the standpoint of because he's saying it, we've seen this before.
Let's not act like it's brand new. Maybe the speed
of the guys, Chris is different, but running guys running

(48:34):
being running quarterbacks, And I'm not saying totally running quarterbacks,
but having the ability to. We've seen it in VIC.
I think Vic is similar. Now Lamar looks like he
could be better. But when Vic first came, people show
all the game but change and everybody all the quarterbacks
gonna be Michael Vick and it didn't happen. Right, I'm

(48:55):
with you. I think Kingsbury couch it enough. He said
they could be the future, so it could look it's
way too early. I mean Lamar Jackson last we saw
him before game one, he looked like he had been soft,
right the Chargers, I mean they stopped twice. Yeah, they
had shut him down. And then to your point, you

(49:17):
always say he came back in the second half when
the game was over, playing prevent defense and all that,
and that's not the That's just the way it was
because when the game mattered, when it was hanging in
the balance, he couldn't get the he couldn't move the
ball right. So he's had one game where you really
and it was a heck of a game, perfect passer raining.
But one game. I'm not going to jump to conclusions,

(49:39):
but he seems like a hard worker, he seems humble,
he seems like a guy. I can't say he seems
like a tremendous leader. I'm not saying he's a bad leader,
but just he doesn't seem to give off that vibe.
But the teammates seem to love him. I mean, his
teammates really seemed to defend him and pull for him,
and that it's good. Uh, Kyler, I do think uh

(50:04):
you know, he threw a lot of balls into the
line of scrimmage, Rob, Yeah, a lot of a lot
of passes batted down about a defensive lineman. Does that
bother you? Does that scare you or worry you a
little bit? As I think it may have been four, Rob,
g correct me if I'm wrong, but I think it's
through four. No. Again, it was his first game, right,
so I'm not gonna jump to a conclusion one way

(50:25):
or the other. But I think they both couched it
enough hardball in Clint Kingsbury, We'll yeah, we're all sitting
here waiting, And that's one reason I'm excited about this game,
because I want to watch and see I think a
guy like Pat Mahomes it's far more the future than
these two are. Uh. DeShane Watson is kind of in

(50:48):
between my Homes and these, because Mahomes is still your
still typical, a typical, big, army, big quarterback, and dudes
like that win right and he's out. You're not. You're
not hoping he does uh dipsy doodle and some tricks.
He just stands in there and he can beat you.

(51:09):
I do think that the athleticism of the quarterback, for
the most part, it has to be there nowadays. Trubisky,
who's not great, but he's athletic, WinCE is athletic, right,
you know, Mahomes doesn't run a tom, but he's an
athletic like that. The game is just so fast now
that you probably are going to have to be a

(51:30):
guy that can do that. I mean even you know
Rogers has been a guy that can is mobile. Oh no, no,
don't now. Tom Brady of course isn't, and he's still
there doing his thing. But I do think Josh Allen,
you know Buffalo, you know the guy that that whipped
up on your jets last week, I mean he's athletic.
You know, Darnel's athletic. So you you are seeing I

(51:54):
do agree with these guys on that that we're about
to hit the era or we're beginning the era where
the quarterbacks got to be an athlete too, got to be.
I think we've definitely liked the days of like Peyton
Manning big can't move, you know what I mean, For
the most part, those guys are targets, and I think

(52:15):
you're right. You can't just tell me unless your line
is just tremendous, you know, but even otherwise, you're right.
I mean, DA's got athleticism. And even Peyton's successor, who
was Andrew Luck, he could move, you know, he was.
He was a really good athlete. So yeah, you're right
about that. All right, let's throw it out to you
guys eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox eight seven

(52:39):
seven nine nine six sixty three sixty nine. Can mobile
quarterbacks like Kyler Murray and Lamar Jackson become the future
of football? It's your turning away in the Eye Couple

Batman remix by DJ Alex ty Shirt. I like that, man, Hey,
I got a little sauce to it for you. Man. Yeah,
TV Theme show Thursday. All right, Rob, did you ever
see the Batman movie that made? Yes, the old one,
the old first one? Can't loved this? It was funny.
I mean I was like ten or Elevenlija shaking his head.
He's like, it's so, it's so bad it was did Seidlija?

(53:47):
You saw it was funny, it was dumb, It was funny.
Sometimes you was like that. See I was young. I
didn't look at it as bad, dumb or funny. I
was talking about me or a loze. You were at
what you were up. I wasn't a teenager. No. If
I was like what I think, I might have been ten,

(54:08):
you were fifteen. I'm still going to Batman. I still
I still enjoyed it. I watched it on television. I
never went to the theater to see it. But now, dude,
I thought the movie was good. I thought it was funny.
All right, let's get there. We got plenty of people
who want to chime in. Let's start out with Spoon
in Detroit. You're on the odd couple of Fox Sports Radio.

(54:29):
What's up, Spoon? Spoon? What you got I can hear it? Right?
All right? What about James in Virginia. You're on the
odd couple of Fox Sports Radio. Oh the thing you're
taking my car? Gentlemen, Happy Thursday? Man, Hell to the Redskins, man, James,
after that putrid performer, you have the nerve to say, hell,

(54:51):
hell to the Skins. They almost at your Eagles ride.
What you're talking about? Hey, yeah, make no mistake, man,
you saw what the Redskins can't do in the first half. Now,
they just had to figure out how to put four
quarters together. You know, stop, James. It was an indictment
on the Eagles. The Redskins are horrible. It just shows

(55:12):
that the Eagles aren't all that. And if and if
the Redskins put four quarters together, all they get is
a dollar, not a victory. Hey, listen, man. The bottom
line is what I'm worried about. The stand up, g
rad stand up. What's the same, gentleman, any given sunday. Man.

(55:32):
They're all professionals out there, man, and they all are fast,
big and can't hit. Man. And that's what we're talking
about with the quarterback situation. Man. I was in DC
one year, Man, I think it was like oh seven,
and they're playing the Dolphins. Strength being with quarterback, I
had the end zone seat a little higher than the midfield.
He dropped back the past, and he threw this ball
over the middle of the field. So I'm like, who

(55:52):
gets throwing that ball to? Why can't somebody pick it off?
And then all of a sudden, Adolphins receivers darting across
the middle to catch the past. If you want to
be an elite quarterback in the NFL, you got to
be able to slice and dice him from the pocket
and use your legs as the weapons all John Elway,
a Steve Young, or even as recently as a Russell Wilson. Man.
Because the bottom line is when you break contain, you're

(56:15):
not protected like you are inside the pocket. Man. And
the thing about Lamar chatting is is. Yes, he's slender,
but he is a big guy. He's like sixty three
if I'm not mistake in six two sift three, and
he has a laser for arms. So I think his potential,
his upside is going to continue to grow as he
continues to mature as a quarterback in the NFL. Because
lemba John, it's only a second season. Man, We'll see

(56:38):
what happens on Sunday against the Cowboys. Guys, know what's
gonna happen. I'm buying too much on that. Thanks a lot,
appreciated the call. Jerry in Nashville. You're on the odd
couple of Fox Sports Radio. What's up, Jerry, Laser guys
to talk to you, guys, I'll kill my favorite people
on on the radio. Thank you. Hey, I don't know.

(56:58):
I mean, these kids are getting bigger and faster. I
mean I see the kids now playing high school college.
They are getting faster. I was one that didn't was
kind of unsure if Lamar Jackson would have a long
future in the NFL playing, you know, running the way
he does. But I do think I do agree with
both of y'all. You do need some as capability. You
do the game does move a lot faster than it's

(57:20):
used to be. But I gotta think about it like this.
Those defensive players they gotta eat too. So those guys
run outside that pocket, want to joke a run. If
they won't, you they will get a hit. And still
I don't know. I'm I'm like Rob. Sometimes it's good
to be old school. Sit behind them, big hogmall ball.
You know what I'm saying. Little Look, seven of the

(57:42):
last eight quarterbacks to reach the Super Bowl were statues, yea,
other than Cam Newton. And that's a great point. Even
Kim didn't win, right, right, Nick Foles, Peyton Manning? You
know so, so it sounds good, you know that there's
this new thing moving, but those quarterbacks are don't seem

(58:06):
to be winning super Bowls? Is that? Colton and North Carolina? Coulton,
you're in the odd couple. Fox Sports Radio, how you doing,
Carolina Paper, Pry Baby, let's go there, you go. Let's
see y'all get off that losing streak. Man, I know, Man,
he needs to get out the pocket, start running that ball. Man. Well,
that's what's got him banged. That's why he's injured all

(58:27):
the time. Yeah, I know, man. But I mean, y'all
want to talk about you know, you know, Kyler Murray
and Lamar Jackson being the future of football. I mean,
you know, Jared Goff, he's the future. And he was
at the NFC Championship last year. I mean, and he
stays in the pocket. So I don't believe necessarily that
you have to be a running, mobile quarterback to win
games or super Bow. Oh that's fair that that's a

(58:49):
fair point because all the other guys we just brought
up in the Super Bowls? Aren't those guys so far? Right?
And we didn't say this now, Chris, even when you
talked about him, then thanks for the hall you said
maybe in ten years, you're not saying next week. Yeah, no, no, right,
not at all. All right, spooning Detroit's back, spoon you're
on the yard couple of Fox Sports Radio. What's up?

(59:11):
Might check? One? Two? Might check? I got done out?
Yeah you huh. You sound like you was about to
You're gonna drop something. You got something for us? Yeah? Yeah,
I was just saying that the mobile quarterback team, it's
not so much as being mobile one hundred percent of
the time, it's just being able to run when it's necessary.
Last week Stafford got two first downs in crucial situations

(59:34):
he was on accounting for And when you talk about
elwhere and those guys who are not like strong runners
back in their day, but they just knew how to pick,
you know, to pick that point to get a few
first downs here in there, and that's the wave of
the future. No, don't send that dude down field running
head first. That is totally wrong. Because you've got guys
like Dawkins or back at my day, I haven't seen
runny lot. Those guys will put you out of the game, yes,

(59:57):
But if you get down and get you a good
ten yards and you plug away here and there, Hey, bro,
I'm telling you that will make a big difference in
the game. Thank you appreciate. That's right, that's right, all right.

our good friends, super Bowl champion Fox NFL analysts Greg
Jenny's big what's hopemies going on? Fellers? What's up? Do
you know? I love you guys. When I'm at back

(01:01:04):
to school night and I have to step out the classroom,
let's make this phone call. Oh wow, we are definitely
appreciate that. Man. Yes, all right, let's let's get to
it tonight. We got Jamis Winston and the Buccaneers against
Cam and the Panthers. Are you pretty much off of

(01:01:28):
Jamis Winston and that you know he'll never be that
very good NFL quarterback? Or do you think he still
has a shot at that. I'm not off of him
because he has so much potential um and he does
do some things very well. He's just very careless with
the ball and critical moments throughout the game, and I
think that's something that can be taught, you know, with maturation.

(01:01:51):
The more he gains more experienced his years into the
National Football League, that will be alleviated. It's just getting
with the right coach, making sure he's getting the right
tutelage and he can thrive in the correct system. How
about Kim Newton, Um, I mean, he had that big year.
We thought this was it fifteen and one. They went

(01:02:15):
to the Super Bowl. Everybody thought, you know, Payton Manning's
banged up, there would beat the Broncos. I thought it
would be a blowout, to be honest, I remember very vividly,
and it obviously didn't turn out that way because of
Denver's defense. But he just seemed like he's and of
course last year was heard with his arm, but it
just seems like he's falling a few pegs and and

(01:02:35):
I don't look at him the same way. I don't
even talk about Kim Newton. Is that wrong? Is he still?
Is he still a big deal? No, Rob, I don't.
It's not wrong. I've never really been high on Cam
Newton as an elite quarterback. I think he's a good quarterback,
But when I look at Cam Newton and I look
at the things around him, and I've been very critical

(01:02:57):
of them. One of the things that has never been
at for him is the pieces around them, whether it
be coaching staff, offensive coordinator, a quarterback, coach, receivers, running backs,
offensive line, in the lineup, out of the lineup, there's
always been pieces that have not been consistent for Cam,

(01:03:19):
and so I try to get him the benefit of
the doubt. It's just so hard to because, as you
alluded to the year he went fifteen and one, he
didn't have phenomenal pieces right, he was able to make
things work with his playmaking ability, and we just haven't
been seen that since that year. Greg The Steelers obviously

(01:03:40):
looked horrible on in their opening games, but you knew
something like that was kor Gregg. But anyway, Juju, he's
the number one receiver now and he had trouble getting open,
and he had trouble getting open in Week seventeen last
year when Antonio Brown outside out. Do you see what

(01:04:02):
I'm seeing. I'm not saying he can't get open and
he won't improve at it, but it definitely looks like
a serious adjustment for him. No, okay, let's slow way down,
all right, because the last game of the year was
basically a playoff game, and so we all know that
defense has played a lot different when fres playoff on

(01:04:24):
the line. And then you look at Week one this year,
he's up against Bill Belichick. We knew if anyone had
ju Ju in fantasy, you would have sat him because
he knew he wasn't going to be the reason why
to still have had any ounce of success, not against
that Patriots defense. So when I look at Smith Schuster,

(01:04:45):
I think he's fully capable of being a number one guy.
It's going to take some time, it's going to be
an adjustment, but he will be able to thrive. Greg
I'm not going to totally pooh pool when guys put
a big number against bad teams, But don't you have
to take some of that into account When you look

(01:05:06):
at what Lamar Jackson did, I mean, you still gotta
make the throws, You still gotta play. He wasn't pressured.
He was throwing the wide open receivers. I saw the
same thing with Dak Prescott. Doesn't mean that he can't play,
but the Giants were just awful. I mean he wasn't sacked,
he wasn't pressured. He threw the wide open receivers. Do

(01:05:27):
you take a little something off of those kind of
games when the defense isn't there, You know what I do,
But in this instance, I'm not going to because this
was something that you and I both mentioned on Undisputed, like,
we gotta see him make those two when they are there,

(01:05:47):
make the throws that you have to make when they're
wide open. And he did that against the Dolphins. He
made the throws. He made every single slash play and
slash play that he was supposed to and more. And
so I give him credit. He showed me something. He
showed me something that I was looking for. Now he

(01:06:08):
just has to do it on the consistent basis against
a better team, and we'll see that this week. Super
Bowl champion Greg Jennings joining the odd couple. Greg Antonio Brown,
I know you know him well, and I don't want
to get into the salt allegations and things like that,
but as a receiver, I'm excited if he gets to play.

(01:06:29):
About seeing him with Tom Brady. I have heard some
people say that day. I've heard people say that it
may not work because you know, in New England, it's
all precision. You know, run the exact the route is.
It is exactly designed and diagramed, whereas Antonio a lot
of times, if he's supposed to run twelve yards, he
may run ten or fourteen, whatever it takes to get open.

(01:06:52):
How do you look at it. Do you think if
he's able to play, that it'll be a match made
in heaven? Or there are those little intricates sees that
could make it not quite as good as people expect.
So I mean, obviously it can be either or, but
I'm going to lean on the side of because he's
such a great player and because I'm who we know

(01:07:13):
Tom Brady is and to be it will work. Now
how it looks, it won't look like what it looked
like in Pittsburgh. The little like intricacies that you mentioned.
It's not so much about him getting the ball or
being at the right depths. If something is working with
New England, they ride that until you stop it. So

(01:07:36):
if that means if they're running the ball or it's Edelman,
they're gonna just feed him like until you stop it.
And so that leaves other guys kind of waiting in
the wings and you have to stay in the game.
You can't go throw temper tantrums on the sideline. If
it's running the ball, We're gonna run it because that's

(01:07:56):
who Bill Belcheck is. He's going to do. You can't
stop them from doing until you stopped them, and then
they'll open up more of the playbook. Great, that's that's
a good point. Yeah, Greg, Uh, goy, Chris, I just
lost my train of thought. I just had come no wrong. Hey, Hey,

(01:08:20):
I'm Nobb's water bottle right now. I mean what that was?
That was? That was last night? No, I had something else.
Some one going to stay away from those houses of
ill renelting wrong going on? You staying out too late? Hey, Alex, No,
he saw me last night after they get wild wild.

(01:08:41):
I do have another question for Greg. Let me just
think about I look, Greg, I I I've always liked Dak.
I know we've talked about him more Undisputed when we've
co hosted it. I don't remember exactly where you are
were on him, but I've loved these intangibles from day one.
He's a winner, he's got high character, he's a leader.

(01:09:03):
I saw in game I saw in week one. I
thought he had the physical twos, the improvement physically and
his throwing and things like that, with a better play
caller and Kellen Moore with a better receiving corps. You
add Randall Cobb, you obviously had Amari Cooper, and Gallup
is looking pretty good too. I think I'm not saying

(01:09:25):
he can be top five, but I do think Dak
is in route to moving way up the ladder and
becoming what we think of as as an elite quarter right,
Not an Aaron Rodgers, not a Patrick Mahomes, but a
guy who's viewed as one of those top quarterbacks. And
my way off, No, you're not way off at all.

(01:09:46):
You're actually right on. And my my perspective and my
assessment of Dak has always been he just has to
be able to win games without any Ezekiel Elliott. It
can't be Ezekiel Elliott or we lose. And so what
we saw Sunday was a Dak Prescott in his fourth

(01:10:07):
year that is ready to make the next step and
take the next step. And I thought that this would
be that year because of all the naysayers and what
everyone is saying he can't do and what he hasn't done,
and now he has that opportunity where it's put up
or shut up, and he has weapons around him, and
they have done a great job putting personnel and pieces

(01:10:29):
around him that will make him better. But the question
has always been are they making him better? Or can
he make them better? And I think that's what we
saw Sunday. We saw Dak Prescott making a lot of
guys look good on Sunday, and so I'm excited to
see where he goes. He can be an elite quarterback
in this league. I think he will be if he
continues to do what he did, and he showed us

(01:10:51):
on Sunday. I did hear that. I'm not buying it. Greg.
My other point, though, the question that I had was
about the Dolphins in his bad as it was, and
then we heard reports afterwards that some players call their
ragents and we're like, get me out of here, like
they're tanking. The team's bad. I don't want to be
out there. I don't want to play on this team.

(01:11:12):
Does that stuff really go on? Did you do you
feel like some players could have said, man, we can't
do it. I don't I don't want to be here.
I just after getting your butts kick like that in
the game, Robbie, I had never never experienced anything like
that in my years of playing. But I think in
this social media heavy driven league in society and environment

(01:11:35):
that we're in, I wouldn't be surprised guys are doing
things that have been so outlandished and so unheard of
that has been blowing me away. I wouldn't be surprised
if that is what's taking place. But one thing I
will say is it is one game. No, I know,
it's one game. And did they look terribly? Yes, they did.

(01:11:57):
They have to go back to the drawing board and
understand that. Look, we have to give everything we got
from week to week at least compete there. It is
Greg Jenny, super Bowl champion, Fox NFL analysts. We appreciate
the time. And they got a weather delay in Carolina
where a teacher meeting. What is it? Is it thunderstorms?

(01:12:18):
Is that what it is? Because everything all right with
the student with the kids. I know they're a students,
so I'm sure everything's going good. Yeah, everything everything is good.
That's why I didn't have a problem jumping out with
you guys. All right, now now feed them, now, feed
them some sugar. Cookies and milk, No, sir, It'll be
up all night, all right, Greg, Yep. The most controversial

All right, it's time for shop Talk. Ain't nobody ain't

Isn't you talk about whoever, whatever, whatever you want to
in the bull's shop talk? That's right at this shop

(01:13:29):
talk to our couple of Fox Sports Trading. We do
this every single Thursday. We take a segment to discuss
something that happened outside of the world of sports because
we're well rounded individuals and we like to take a
look at other things. This week's viral story that we're
talking about a couple in Pennsylvania had their bank accidentally
deposit one hundred and twenty thousand dollars into their account,

(01:13:52):
so naturally they spent most of it. They withdrew a
hundred grandly to make a down payment on a new SUV.
They bought a camper, a car trailer, a race car,
a couple of four wheelers, and they gave some friends
about fifteen grand. Wow. So here's the question, guys, Wow,
what do you think about people spending the money that

(01:14:14):
the bank accidentally gave them? Because now they're facing felony charges?
Do you think they made a mistake? So you know
us I want to say this real quick, Chris, if
this happened to the Boussade, they would have no idea
that there was any extra money being If it happened
to Rob, he'd have seven hundred and eighty two new

(01:14:36):
pairs of Gucci sneakers and every Jordan never made. I
would go to the Gucci store with that Bundy. You
know that. No, But I mean, in all seriousness, come on,
that's ridiculous. I mean it's one thing. If they put
one hundred and twenty dollars right right, I wear one
hundred dollars in there. Well you might just say, oh,

(01:14:57):
you know, we forgot about this one, you know what
I mean? A hundred in twenty thousand. To Rob's point,
he was joking. But unless you're filthy rich like Lebron
James or something, you might not notice it exactly. No,
I'm sorry, that's I hate to say it because and Rob,
you will you make your a good point because we
were talking earlier. You made a great point about it.

(01:15:18):
We're about saying that unless you can because I was like, look,
they're not hardcore criminals. I hate to see him enough felony,
but but but you have to be able to pay
it back, right, And if they can't pay it back,
they're gonna have to go to jail because they knew
it wasn't their money. And that's really the whole thing.
It ain't. You can't be like ignorant to the law.

(01:15:39):
The dude, where did that money come from? You know,
like it just popped into your account. It wasn't a
direct deposit. Were you're expecting a refund from Macy's, do
you know what I mean? Like like something where you
could say, well, I was expecting fifteen hundred dollars from somebody,
and when it came into the account, I didn't look
at it. I just assumed that that was the refund. Right,

(01:16:00):
I'm with you. I'm with you, rob Ge. You you
got you both squares? Look at the bank, have give
me money. I'm gonna accidentally spend it, all right? Yeah? Right?
I could see rob Ge right now. You know what
he would do if this, if this happened to him
and his wife, He'd be at diapers or rush right now,
buying allapers. What are you doing? I'd be in Beverly

(01:16:22):
Hills looking up how to get knee and plants to
get a couple inches taller. Wow, that would I be
looking at? Is that the only one? Rob Your wife
would collow you and and drag you down to the bank.
Well that's why you don't and you all right? Right?
So Chris, if if you find a wallet on the floor,
are you automatically gonna return to that person? Now? You

(01:16:44):
know what? Take the money for your troubles. I take
the money out, and then I put the rust in
the envelope and mail to him. I would that's my
reward as long as I returned to credit card and
the idea. Yeah, exactly, so if there was five hundred
dollars inside, I would say, but they're looking to get
the stuff back. Yes, what look at you, guys. I'm

(01:17:05):
not expecting to get my money back on you. Yes,
all five hundred, Chris. I think most people would give
the money back. I really do, because we've seen people
do nice things like that. It's the Eye couple. Keep

And without further ado. He's one of the best wide
receivers to ever do it, A Hall of famer, you
know him. Tarrell. Oh, it's Tarrell. What's up? Man? I'm
good man. What's that? What's up? I'm great man. We
were glad to have you on the show. Uh Man.
The wide receivers are are are doing some crazy stuff nowadays. Man,

(01:18:17):
I don't think it has nothing to do with wide receivers.
It's just uh yeah, we are some uh enigmatic, uh
kind of kind of guys. But you know, AB is
on one right now, and uh, I think the world
has witnessed. The world has witnessing obviously like one of
the most bizarre, you know, kind of behaviors and things

(01:18:37):
that are happening, especially for the hundredth season, going to
the hundred season of the of the NFL. So this
is it's been interesting, to say the least, because I mean,
I have nothing but love for it, for Ab. And
again a lot of people have been asking me, uh,
kind of my take on what's going on. And I
do consider Ab a friend, I don't. I don't condone

(01:19:00):
everything that you know he's done and the way he's
going about it. But at some point, hopefully you know,
he can just get to playing football. Hey Geo, Well,
I was gonna say, have you talked to him? Or
you know, why do you do you Like a lot
of people think he purposely did a lot of that

(01:19:20):
stuff to get out of Oakland because he knew he
could get to New England. Do you buy any of that?
Have you talked to him about any of that? No,
I'm not buying that at all. I don't even know
if it was for sale, but no, I'm not buying it. Um. Honestly,
I think I mean he honestly, I think he dodged
a bullet. I think the other thirty teams that didn't

(01:19:42):
jump on the jump on the idea of acquiring him
as soon as he was released. Um. That's why I
think Bill Belichick will probably go down as one of
the greatest and best quarterback I mean, best coaches in
NFL history. Obviously, the culture itself there in Boston. A
number of players obviously has has spoken of what that's like.

(01:20:04):
And I figured I think he figured. You know, obviously,
if anybody can can kind of real abn, Um, it's him.
It's what they're doing with the you know that culture.
Obviously they've won Super Bowl out the Super Bowl. Um,
that's what ab wants to do, is win. Um. I
don't think it is. It is and it isn't about money. UM.
Obviously you saw that. Um with the process in which

(01:20:28):
he got out of Pittsburgh. Um, he wanted money. He
got that and then at the end of the day,
me talking to AB towards the end of last year
with some of the issues that were going on in
the locker room with Ben and the coach and management. UM,
I talked to him on a few occasions. So again,
I know, I understand where he's coming from to a degree,
but I think he's just going about it the wrong way. UM.

(01:20:50):
Obviously he's trying to address some issues UM that is
that is going on behind the scenes within the league,
especially when you think about guys uh of color that
are having to go to the instegree to get paid,
get guaranteed money. UM. I think, like I said, he
has he has, you know, an idea of what he
wants to do. He just hasn't executed that plan. Teo.

(01:21:13):
Here's one of my big things when it comes to
the NFL trying to legislate and dole out punishment and whatnot.
I think a b should be allowed to play because
this is a civil suit, not a criminal situation, and
you let it and you should let it play out.

(01:21:34):
And I just don't want to see like people are like, oh,
he shouldn't play and they should get to the bottom
of this. And I'm like, dude, this is not a
criminal investigation. This is a civil suit. Anybody can follow
a lawsuit against you, right absolutely, and obviously with a
civil civil suit, the burden of proof is obviously lower, yes,

(01:21:55):
in the court. And so um again, you know, obviously
it looks bad. I think the time. I mean, it's
bad when you look at everything that is transpired, you know,
since you know, since last year, and then obviously you
know it's it's well documented things that have happened, you know,
since he got with the Raiders. So again, public opinion,
obviously it's gonna look worse. They're gonna, they're gonna they're

(01:22:15):
gonna automatically make him guilty. I think you know, we
all know that any American like said, with in any situation,
you're you're innocent until proven guilty, not the other way around.
And so again I'm with you on this. He has
to be I think he should play. Um. I think
this is a situation where um the female is this

(01:22:37):
is a money grab type of situation. Um. Obviously there
are some things like there's always two sides to a story.
I just think for ab it looks bad because of
the timing of it. And obviously she's trying to almost
like kick a man when he's down. Um, obviously, like said,
with the public opinion, like said, for something like this
to come out, like everybody that heard this, they automatically

(01:22:58):
think that Ab is guilty, right because because of all
the other stuff as well, they just pilot all together
and go, oh, this is the last straw. This is it.
They should throw Ab out of the league. And none
of this has to do with what happened prior. And
people need to be very very careful. We've seen Michael
Irvin be accused of this thing a couple times and

(01:23:20):
both times he was exonerated both times, right, right, And
like I said, I mean, like I said, I think
the thing is it's just bad timing. It's just the
timing of this situation, and I think unfortunately, like I said,
for Ab, it's not a good look. Um, you obviously
want to be sensitive to to anything as it relates

(01:23:41):
to rate. Sure, I'm women, especially you know, at the
climate that we are are in at this at this
moment time in this country. But again, like I said,
if it's false, then she should be she should be
dealt with to the mp degree of the law because
this is not a good situation. You know, opted to
try to destroy man's you know, reputationist character and obviously
destroy man's you know, his livelihood. So I, like I said,

(01:24:03):
I feel bad in that sense because this is one
thing after another and it almost seems like it's it's
it's a never ending thing when it comes to Ab.
But like I said, I person, I love the guy.
Um I took said, I don't condone everything that he's done.
Um Like I said, I know, I know, I kind
of I know his mindset. You know, there are some things,
like I said, behind the scene, Like I said, he's
trying to get these players, you know, to to understand

(01:24:26):
the leverage that they have, and individually they can't do it.
They can't do it individually. When you think it, when
you look at when you look at these situations, you know,
look at all these guys that are having to go
through the nth degree to get paid. AB did it.
M Julio was almost threatened the holdout Aaron Donald, Eric
Donald did it last year, Zeke did it last year?

(01:24:49):
Lay hold you and what I'm trying to tell you
all these are black football players. You saw, Like I said,
it's I know what he's trying to I know what
he's trying to do. Like I said, he's just going
about it the wrong way. He's trying to accomplish something
but doesn't have the right execution of plan to execute it.

(01:25:11):
T Is he talking? Is he talking with any other
players about this? Yeah? I mean, you know, trying to
put something together honestly. To be honest, I've talked to
a number of players, and these players don't feel like
they have the leverage. A lot of these players don't
feel like it's going to benefit them. And it's not
about benefiting them at the moment. It's about the generation

(01:25:35):
of guys that are coming after you. That's what it's about.
It's you have to sacrifice and what I trust me,
I've seen it. For example, Carson Winster's got paid one
hundred million dollars. And I'm not discounting Carson wins ability
to play the game, But do you think he's warranted
one hundred million dollars. He didn't have to do anything

(01:25:57):
to get that hundred million. But you know what, Hey, toyo,
here's the thing. Until the players come together and the
union is strong enough that the NFL owners have been
bending over players forever. And I'm telling you, trust me,
I totally agree. Until they get a union that as
strong as the MLB and the NBA, it's not going
to happen. And I trust me. I've talked to these

(01:26:19):
guys individually. They they want to do it, but collectively
they have to do it. The league is made up
of seventy plus percent minorities. Yes, they trust me that
these the owners have these players thinking that we need them. Yes,
it's the other way you're happening, right. The players have
to get together, band together and stand up for what

(01:26:39):
they what they believe in, and what they want, and
they will get it. They will got the unified. They
got to know everybody's doing it right, but everybody's doing
it individually and it's not working. It's not going to happen.
And you know what I want to say, And all
they need to do is go back to when the
baseball players didn't play the World Series that year. You

(01:27:00):
remember the play the owners are gonna lock them out.
They said, you're not gonna lock us out, We're gonna strike.
And that's what changed everything. Look at the money that
baseball players are getting TiO three hundred million four hundred
and thirty million. It's it's absolutely it's absolutely mind boggling.
And then again you these these weirdest football players. We

(01:27:23):
see these these these these numbers that these players are getting,
and then these guys want to go on social media
and chime in and chirp about it. Don't chirp about it,
in chime if you're not gonna do anything about it,
it's right. You go ahead. Joining the eye couple, let's
go to Cleveland and look. I don't know if Rob

(01:27:44):
and I are old school or what, but you know
O O b j Odell Beckham Junior with the watch,
I mean, I don't get it. What are we off?
What are you making that? What are you wearing? The
wanting to wear a watch? No, I don't understand. I'm
a good friend of O. B J. Two and again
like it's it. I don't understand. I don't understand it.

(01:28:07):
I get, I really don't understand it. I mean, when
you think about something like this happening is like, okay,
where are your priorities? Why? I get I understand the
fashion element of it. But there's a time and a
place for it, no pun intended. There's a time and
the place, but it's not it's not on the football field.

(01:28:30):
That would be it would almost be what if Lebron
played the play the game he had a watch on.
I can't even did you ever even consider wearing a watch?
Like no, no, it just doesn't make it doesn't make sense.
And then the thing is, okay, just say for it,
I mean, just hypothetical to speaking, just okay, just say

(01:28:50):
if it's a it's a it's a key game, it's
a it's a playoff game or something. He catches a
panting and he's about to score and the time is
running out, and a La tries to reach out and grabbing,
grabbing by the watching it gets tackled and he gets
tackled by the watch. Any you get what I'm saying.

(01:29:11):
And my thing is, when all that was writing, all
the hype about it, that that's something worth fighting over
and being consumed with. When you just got your butts
kicked in the home opener at home by thirty points, yeah,
that's and and again it's it's it's a it's a distraction, dude.
And this is what kills me, dude, is that I

(01:29:34):
got critical, I got I got ridicuted, I got criticized
so much for just this it pales in comparison to
what they are doing right, And people look at me, dude,
like like I like I was. When you have guys
like Skip Batas and Sean Falisbury, these guys just talked
about me like I was the worst guy that ever

(01:29:55):
stepped in in a pair of cleats a man, it's refreshing.
It's refreshing because now they see, like for me personally,
I was ahead of my time and what I did,
like I said, I didn't I didn't tinker with the
integrity of the game. I tried to have fun. I
knew that what I was doing once I started to

(01:30:16):
become the football player and the receiver that I that
I was, and I did like I became an entertainer
as well as a performer, like as well as a
football player, like I knew where to draw the line.
But everybody that was in the booth, they didn't understand.
They didn't know how to really they didn't know what
they were seeing. And it wasn't bad. I wasn't doing

(01:30:36):
anything negative something like this stuff at all. Like you said,
it was refreshing. Have you since have people begun to
change their view of the things you did based on
what they see happening now. No, because I think at
that time and during that time, you know, Chris, it's

(01:30:56):
just almost like, you know, the damage is already done.
I trust me the way that the media portrayed me.
Trust me, I don't. Like I said, it's it's it
has affected kind of what I wanted to do and
what I want to do, like business wise, because people
hold that negative image and what they heard and what
they read during the time that I played. And then,

(01:31:18):
like I told, I tell people I was thinking and
when I when I went on and I tried to
defend myself, I adamly said, I was like, yo, I
have been unfairly criticized for what I wasn't doing anything
just because it was different than what guys did in
the seventies and the eighties. That doesn't mean that I
was doing something wrong. I never did anything wrong. And
then you have guys like Ryan Clark that that is

(01:31:40):
going on and try to articulate and try to, you know,
add his two cents as far as what's going on
with a B things and he's done off the field,
and then he throws my name in the mix for what.
I haven't done anything off the field. I have no
criminal records, no nothing. I told him, like, the only
thing close to me doing something off the field was
to sit up in my driveway right right? What's funny?

(01:32:04):
It was funny. I tried to make light up a situation.
But then guys that have played the game is doing,
Guys that are playing in the league or disservice because
they know what's going on in these locker rooms. When
when when they when this you know, storm kind of
fades away or whatever, would they be ob J, will
you talk to him? Because as you said, I mean,

(01:32:25):
the things you did were nothing like what they're doing.
But will you talk to them about? Look, even though
I didn't do what you guys are doing, it's still
has negatively impacted me, you know about the look. Yeah,
and they may not and they may not see it.
They may they may not see it at this point.
But again, this is a different generation, this is a

(01:32:45):
different era. Again, the social media platforms are I mean,
they're plentiful, so they may feel like, again, these guys
are making well more money than than than we did
and then I did, so they may not feel like
it's it's it's going to impact him, you know, at
that at that level. But at the end of the day,

(01:33:06):
like I said, when you start, you know, you know,
wanted to orchestrate business, get into the business world. These
are some of the things that again, these these corporate
companies and these people they take into considerations. Bro, I
trust me. I know I walked in several meetings and
and people expect the TiO that they they they heard
about or they saw on the football field. That's that's

(01:33:28):
not that's not that's that's not who I am. Yeah,
that was what I did. That was what I had
to do. That was that mentality that I had to
turn on when it was time to face football. But
people are they're sold. They're so taken back when I
when I'm coming and I and I'm talking to him
and like for twenty minute, like dude, you're nothing like
I thought you were because of the media perception. Well,

(01:33:52):
I was gonna say, well to I hope that this
year too, Man, you could come back through my class
at the US SEE because you came last year and
the kids thoroughly enjoyed your information and your talk with them.
So hopefully you can come back this year too. Man, anytime.
You know, you got my number, man. Uh, like I said, Chris,

(01:34:14):
rest out man, Like I said, I love being on
the show with you guys. You guys are doing some
some awesome stuff. So you know, anytime and I'm available,
I can kind of add my little two cents in
and and and help you guys out. You know, I'm
always I'm here for you and all right, and the
other thing, can you help Chris out on some sit
ups because his midsection? Can you tell them how to
do sit up correctly? Oh? Yeah, you still stay shape? Yeah,

(01:34:38):
he got he know how to get get ahold of
the right guy when you're talking sit ups. That's me.
That's right. He's still in shape. He's an unbelievable shit.
I know, I know. We appreciate the thank you, thank you,
all right man, anytime? All right? All right, that's the
great Terrell Owens. You can follow him on Twitter at

(01:36:11):
at you? Rob? You get that? Robbed though? Rob don't here?
Why Rob? Don't you hearing the mix? Rob? I don't
hear the mix? Like this is dope? Man? He getting busy.
I look, I recognize it, a real recognize right right.
I'll look at y'all. This is nice. We need that

(01:36:32):
to call is calling about these mixes? I'm feeling it though,
I'm definitely feeling it. Great job, Rob. You know we're
talking to uh Terrell Owens just last segment, and uh,
he's right, I mean, his reputation obviously, I think at
least me and you and I agree, the perception was

(01:36:55):
much worse than the reality when you think of stuff
on the field, up just celebrating touchdowns in Dallas, right,
he had the sharpie in the end zone, right, right,
he push ups in the in the or sit ups
in the driveway, like I'm trying to think of the

(01:37:16):
things he did, and there's really it was a football
related competitive stuff, right, I mean, it just saw this
guy playing a Super Bowl when he shouldn't even been
out there. Go look at his numbers, right, trying to
help his team win. Do you remember that? Yeah? Yeah, Yeah.
It's just we're not saying that just because he's done
the show, because Chris and I we don't roll like that,

(01:37:38):
right right. It's just I mean, again, compared to a
lot of the stuff that's gone on recently, it is, uh,
it's mind boggling some of the stuff that's happened. But
this OBJ thing is going to be interesting because the
latest I haven't seen anything new. The latest is right,
the league is gonna talk to him and the Browns,

(01:37:59):
and he had said he's gonna wear the watch. So
I has anything come out, rob G since then? Yeah?
Updated from anywhere, NFL Network, NFL dot com. I haven't
heard anything about the league talking to him or anything.
So that's gonna be interesting. I mean, as you said,
if the league is like, look, you can't wear the watch,

(01:38:21):
I don't fight it. Don't fight it, right, especially at
this time. I just seen just got himmer, Right, I
just don't understand one game. Why why are you? Why
are you so focused on it? I don't get it.
Is it just because you want to be a fashionista
and show people? Look, I was wearing a watch during

(01:38:43):
the game. I was the first guy to do it.
And next thing you know, I want to wear a
pair of Louis Vatton's cleats or I don't know, and
you could do I mean, I just say it wants
to be a fashionista, you could do that the Louis
Vatine cleats. Like, I'm all for your personal individual expression.
I have everything has boundaries. That's it what TiO was saying,

(01:39:06):
even he certainly never would be considered a conformist. But
everything has boundaries, you know, And I would just hope
ob J doesn't fight this with the watch if indeed
they say, look, you can't and I can't imagine the
thing being entirely played. Can you Can you imagine just
going you just you got traded away? You in Cleveland,

(01:39:27):
there's all this hype about your team and this year,
and you get there and you know, your training camp.
He's kind of banged up. He finally gets there, he
has like a social game one and they get blown out,
and the story about everything is about you wearing a
watch at the game. That part. I don't. You're supposed

(01:39:47):
to be starting fresh, Chris. I'm trying to prove to
people that the Giants made a mistake, right, They didn't
know what they were doing. They traded a way to
do and we both agree he's one of the best
receivers we've seen, you know. I mean, he's a great receiver.
It really is. Yep. But you your point is well taken,
and this is an absolute must win, absolutely because after

(01:40:10):
the Jets, and especially with note Sam, darn right, you
don't win that game. I don't know what serious, but
you got the Rams a week three, the Ravens four,
forty nine ers, you got a bye week, then you
got the forty nine ers, or no, it's not a
bye week. You have the forty nine ers, then you
got the Seahawks Patriots. So one, two, three, five straight

(01:40:32):
games that are all gonna be very tough after the Jets.
So they better get they better get their act together quick,
fast and in a hurry, or this season could turn
to a into a mess. And I'll tell you what
if it does go south, it'll be interesting to see
how that locker room handles it. Very interesting. All right.

(01:40:56):
We'll have Martin Weiss and Trolling and Rolling up next,
but first be sure to catch live editions of The
Odd Couple with Chris Brussard and Rob Parker weekdays at
seven pm Eastern, four pm Pacific. It's the Eye Couple
of Chris Brusar Rob Parker coming you live from the
Geico Fox Sports Radio studios. It's easy to say fifteen
percent of more on your car insurance with Geico. Go

(01:41:19):
to Geico dot com or call eight hundred nine four
seven Auto. The only hard part is figuring out which
way is easier? Is our man here Martin Weiss, because
it's time for trolling or rolling. Tom Brady, he's done.
Aaron Rodgers did not have a Pro Bowl season. Trying

(01:41:40):
to kiss me run. It's trolling or rolling. Don't you worry.
Chris Brusard. I'm here and I'm breaking down for those
who's the first time. If the guys liked the story,
you're hear the roll sounds. And if they don't, you
hear the troll sound. Oh man, hey, hey, hey, hey,
let's get right to trolling. Are rolling? The Saints want

(01:42:02):
a thriller? On Monday night beating the Texans thirty to
twenty eight on the last second field goal, but the
team was still upset with the refs. They made a
key error at the end of the first half and
it ended up costing the Saints fifteen seconds while running
their two minute drill that eventually ended up in a
fifty six yard field goal. After the game, Drew Brees said, quote,
that can't happen. That's a game changer if we had

(01:42:24):
fifteen more seconds. Are you kidding me? That can't happen? Rob?
Are you trolling or rolling? The Saints fans complaining about
the refs again? I'm trolling. Oh man, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey,
would you guys get over it? My god, they make
mistakes all the time. You know what, I understand. You

(01:42:45):
want the rough for you to get it right. They're
human beings. You know why they put racers on pencils
because people make mistakes. So it's gonna happen once in
a while. Out of one, did I get it, the
one that cost them the game against the Rams, I'd
be hot about that. But to keep harping every time
there's a bad call will be here all night. I'm

(01:43:06):
rolling with it. Look, I'm not saying you have to
carry it on for all season or for the next
three weeks or anything like that. But they were right
to point that out. That is critical fifteen seconds. It's critical.
The guy missed the field goal, by the way, he
redeemed himself obviously in the second half, but that is critical.
There's nothing wrong with pointing it out. That's why the

(01:43:28):
NBA has a two minute you know thing they give
us at the end of what they call it two
minute drill or whatever, two minute report, where they give
us all the breakdowns of the calls in the last
two minutes. Because transparency is good but they don't do
anything about it. Can't do anything about it. But I
think they were right to point it out, put it

(01:43:48):
on the officials minds, and so maybe next time they
won't make that manch. You don't have to do it publicly.
Trolling at your time? Sorry, trolling owing odd couple of
Fox Sports Radio. The Giant. Sorry, the Cowboys beat the
Giants down on Sunday, But the biggest loss happened to
a kid in a Giant's uniform in the parking lot
wearing a se Quon Barkley jersey. A Giants hadn't even

(01:44:09):
a Giants temporary tattoo in his cheek. A kid rushed
up to Cowboys defensive end de Marcus Lawrence and asked
for an autograph. Lawrence looked the kid up and down
and told him, quote get the right jersey, son, and
didn't sign anything for the kid. Rob. Are you trolling
or rolling? De Marcus Lawrence snubbing a Giants fan asking
for an autograph? Wow, I am rolling with it. Conflic

(01:44:35):
the no a little bit because he's just a kid.
He sees a player and he's going up to him,
even though he has on the team colors. So I
do could see where a player would say, well, what
do you want my autograph for? You're with the other
guys and taking it to that degree. But then I
just felt a little bit, I'm not gonna play both sides.
So I'm just gonna say I understand Lawrence and I'm

(01:44:56):
rolling with him. I'm trolling, oh man, hey, kind of
like Rob. I will admit, you know, there are times
where a person, an athlete, or anybody entertained or anybody
who's famous. You may have signed one hundred autographs and
then the one that you when you're time to go,
the one you turn down people highlight. So I'll give

(01:45:17):
you that, But in this case, I think DeMarcus would
have been better off joking with the guy, man, what
you got on? You need to get some cowboys gear on,
something like that, and still signing this stuff. Anyway, I
know one thing's for sure. That kid will never be
a DeMarcus Lawrence fan ever, right about that, And you
know what, it's fine, go get say Kwan Buca sign

(01:45:39):
You're fine with that rod. That kid will live. One
of my buddies still has not forgiven Dion Sanders from
when he was about seven years old, but that's neither
here nor there. Trolling Roland. Forgive me because he asked
me from my autograph back in nineteen ninety two at
the NJ. Is that why he beat you up on
our couple every day? Oh? Look at Martin a right,

(01:46:02):
see what I'm saying, Like, that's why I like Martin.
He's supposed to my right hand man. I made a
mistake the other Nothing but the truth, the whole truth.
Week two just kicked off with Thursday Night Football, and
all signs are pointing to Melvin Gordon missing the Charger's
next game. Week one. However, his backup, Austin Eckler, he
bawled out. He had two receiving touchdowns and one for

(01:46:24):
fifty five yards. After that catch, Melvin Gordon tweeted out
that Eckler was eating while presumably he was watching the
game from home. Rob are you trolling or rolling Melvin
Gordon's with a verbal support for his backup. I'm rolling
with it. I think it's legit. He ain't playing. He
knows the guy at cler and he's happy for him.
Of course, nobody wants to see there. You would rather

(01:46:46):
he had like a terrible game because you're not there.
Everybody's happy for what I what. I'm just saying, But
you're not playing. I'm just saying, I don't. I don't
think if you really were torn up about it, you
wouldn't have. You wouldn't have commented at all. So I
think I think it's legit. I think you just would have.
I'm rolling with it because it's the thing to do,

(01:47:06):
it's the right thing to do. But Rob you and
I know inside you're not happy. I mean you're not.
It's just it's it's because not only is he your
backup who could take your position, but he's also taking
money out of your pocket. Not you know, not purposely,
but the better he plays, if they keep winning without

(01:47:29):
you and maybe becomes all pro or something, then that's
not gonna help you get your money or maybe. But
I was James Connor in week one and because the
pat you don't even get me started on that. But
they they I look, it's the same thing. Though. I
like Melvin Gordon. I do think he's their best running back,

(01:47:51):
but Eckler and Justin Jackson are more than capable. And
Eckler showed it in Week one. I think he'll show
it all season. But but Gordon did the right thing.
So I was rolling with him. Yeah, no, no, no,
it was a nice gesture. You know, it pained him
to type type each one of those letters, but he
was he was playing well. And you know what, either

(01:48:14):
you ignored Chris or you gotta give credit with Chris, right,
it looks bad if you didn't it. Obviously, it looks
bad if you criticize him. Oh but if he didn't
say anything, it's still you know if people also would
look at that like, oh he's salties, you know what
I mean? Either, all right, that was trolling, our rolling

(01:48:35):
with our man, Martin Wiss. Good job, brother. We got
more of the Eye couple coming up. Keep it like

(01:48:57):
waiting to see. I know we got the fucking mix
coming up by DJ Alex Tysher on this TV theme
show Thursday. What is this? Take a guess at the
Detective Show. I know it. I know that this is
a nice mix. Oh this is Madlock. No, the color

(01:49:17):
is pink. Pink Panther's Pink Panther. Listen. Isn't that mix nice?
Rob It is very differently. I know you're from a
different era where mixing and all that. One I was
cutting and scratching, cutting and scratching, yes, like post its okay, Hey,

(01:49:39):
my my friends, my friend's mom, my friend keb Man
when the old days, when we were like in the basement,
yea Chris scratching and whatnot, and his mother would come
to the time we'd be in the basement. Mother come
to the top of the stairs and be like, y'all
stop scratching those records. Otherwise I'm saying you a hole,
because she was like, you don't think we were ruining
in my record exactly? That used to be right, scratching

(01:50:01):
was like what I'm saying, Yeah, the records scratch, you
throw it away. But thanks to Grandmaster Flash and you know,
everybody's googling Christ and are saying that, what is he
talking about records? Right? And right about that? What are
you right about that? Speaking of records? Team USA, are
you bothered by this, robber? Is this an embarrassment? They

(01:50:24):
were beating by Serbia to day the score was respectable?
What was it ninety four eighty nine, something like that,
But obviously they were down thirty two to seven, and
just the fact that they lost, period. Are you bothered
by this? Does it? You know? Not at all? Because
not at all, because all the players didn't want to
participate when you send also Rams and uh, you know,

(01:50:49):
guys who really shouldn't be on that team if it
wasn't for Chris uh, people backing out and getting injured
or whatever you want to use the term. Yeah, you
know what I mean. If you, if you, if you
had your full squad, the guys who are the best
players in the league currently, then it would be a problem.
It's not a problem to me because this is this

(01:51:11):
is the backup, this is the second third, This isn't
even this. Let me give you these numbers. There were
thirty five players originally selected for the USA team, you know,
to see who they were gonna pick. Only four of
them are playing on this to go right, that's it,

(01:51:32):
I mean, these aren't even you know a few of
these guys would be in the top thirty or twenty five,
but only a few, only a few. And you know
it look good for the world. You know, we can't
that we can't send our you know, players thirty through
sixty or or lowered it or even higher than that

(01:51:55):
and beat them, you know what I mean. Right, So
I'm you know, I'm fine with it. Like I said,
I've said that, I think they should make it twenty
five and under. Now with our twenty five and unders
win international competition, I would, I think so, but you
never know, never know that, but I would be into it.
And I think the better young players would want to

(01:52:17):
play rob because I think it'd be like, Okay, we
got one or two shots to win Olympic gold and
we're young, we didn't go deep into the playoffs, or
we're trying to establish our brand worldwide, not just here
in America. And you know, I think you'd get the
better the Carl Anthony Towns and Devin Bookers and all

(01:52:37):
of that, and then it would be fun. And if
they didn't win, it'd be okay. But eventually, if we
keep losing, then what happens is the big dog say,
you know what, we're gonna redeem America. Ye, that happened
about ten years ago, remember, yeah, I do remember. And
then all of a sudden people got involved again, and
and then there was some pressure to, you know, make
what was wrong right, you know, and make the US

(01:53:00):
proud of its basketball team again. So I do. I
do see that as a possibility, but I don't think
most people have worked up about it because they know
they know those guys aren't playing right now. There's there's
no question about it and no question about it. Little
update on Carolina and Tampa Bay. Carolina is up six three,

(01:53:22):
Cam Newton nine for sixteen hundred and nine yards, fairly pedestrian.
Jameis Winston seven of nine seventy one yards, again fairly pedestrian.
It looks like we've had just a bunch of field
goals so far rout so uh not turning out to
be the barn burner that I didn't one of. You know,

(01:53:45):
you made me as I was the bad guy and
I was were I was like, wearing the black hat
fits me fine. But in this game, I told you what.
I'll watch it because it's on and it's like not
a lot of else, not much else going on, but
other than that, yeah, listen, hopefully, Look it's early. It's
still what seven minutes left in the second quarter. Maybe

(01:54:08):
it will pick up, but we'll see, we'll see all right,
it is the Eye Couple, Chris Bruce Ard, Rob Parker. Look,
go to iTunes, Apple Podcasts, SoundCloud, or Fox Sports Radio
dot com and subscribe to The Eye Couple Podcasts downloaded,
leave us five stars if you will, and the comment

(01:54:30):
and uh, you know it all helps. Rob G Do
we still do the international? What happened to the uh
international poll and all that? Well, we're proud to be
an American here on this show, So we're no longer
doing the international look ins? Why not because I don't
have access to the numbers anymore, right right, right right, Sorry,

(01:54:53):
So it really wasn't about being patriotic. It was just
that you don't have they stopped giving you those numbers.
But I get you. You You you you went out like
a trooper. I couple
