lot of fun for the next three hours. So definitely
keep it. Like mister Parker, how are you. I'm doing great,
mister Chris Brussorry. What's up, buddy man? All good? The

(01:30):
holiday season is upon us, man, and it's coming quickly.
Christmas Eve is what a week from today? Yeah, I
gotta go out this week and get your gift. Yeah, yeah,
don't I'll do yourself, so trust, trust, don't do it.
I'm just saying, Yeah, last year, I'll hoot you up
with some night you mustard colored air Force ones. But

(01:52):
this year I'll do. I've already and I shouldn't have done. No,
I want more than that. Twice three times, did ye?
I'll do, I'll do and and I'm not gonna let
the cat cannot say that you that I already know
what it is. So we this is the thing. Let's

(02:14):
throw this out to the our couple crew. Rob got
me a great gift, okay, and he showed it to
me a week or two ago. I was so excited
about it and I just I couldn't help it. Now,
the question is this. Did he show it to me
just out of love? Do you? My boy? I'm excited
that you know you got this and I want to

(02:36):
see your reaction because you know you love giving something
to people you care about. Or did he show it
to me to give me a hint? Yo? No? See
you see a brother drop some green or you So,
just so you know, don't shop at Target, shop at
North Shoe. I'm just asking it. I'm just throwing it

(02:58):
out there. I don't know what's y'all think a couple
of crew and and d J. Tisher, What about you?
You know? You know what? Should we say what it is?
Nor Rob g knows what it is? You know what
it is? So what's your thoughts? Yeah? About this? Oh,
he absolutely wanted you to number one know how much
it costs, so he doesn't know. Maybe him showing to

(03:22):
me to receive and not saying that he expects you
to get something that expensive. But just so you know,
this is what he thinks of you. So if you
want to return the favor, that's fine. I was just
so excited about the gift that I couldn't hold it.
And it's not like Friday when we exchange gifts before
the Christmas break or whatever. I'll be here of course

(03:45):
all next week and the week after, but anyway, Uh,
the idea and Alex right, we'll be here, um, but
the idea couldn't is that no, no, no, is that
I wouldn't have the gift to give to him on
Friday in my reaction because it has to be mailed
to your house, right and you can't take it. And
I love giving people gifts and seeing you know, the

(04:06):
joy you get from seeing their joy, right, Like when
I gave you the Air Force ones, I was excited
and I'm looking at it like, Okay, last year, you
know I gave you air Force ones, you gave me
a book bag, right, so we know now we so
when you get you know, something far less this year,
we even it's all good. All right, let's walk, Alex,

(04:26):
what are you think? You know? What kind of guy? Yeah?
I know, Rob, he's the type that can't hold his
joy in and more ways than one. So he's the
kind of cat you've been talking to my So he's
the kind of cat. Word. If he has something that
big and he enjoys it that much, he's gonna show
it to you. Right, there's no mouse, and there's if
the residual effect is, Hey, you spend five hundred dollars

(04:48):
on me for Christmas? Sob oh, I don't want you
to do that. I told you before I even showed
it to him, I said, do not go out and
get me a big gift and say that all right,
let's welcome into your couple of crew. We have a
big show today, Rob g of course as our producer Alex,
our engineer David Gascon is at the anchor desk. He'll
keep us updated throughout the program. You know, me and

(05:10):
Gascon I went to the Big ben Maller Ugly Sweater
Christmas party on Saturday, which was awesome. We sure did
Big Benza, Ponda Rosa is that what they call is
his house is big House. And Elijah of course, our
social media guru. They're all on the other side of
the glass. Come on, Chris Bousad on this trash talking Tuesday.

(05:34):
Let's pick some out, all right, let's do it all right.
The big story, of course is Drew Brees. And that's
not the first time we've said that before. But last
night he broke Peyton Manning's career touchdown record and now
has five hundred and forty touchdowns for his career. What
a night for Breeze? Whats he forty years old? And

(05:56):
I mean a night the night he broke the record,
he went twenty nine for thirty twenty nine for thirty
three hundred seven yards. The Colt shutdowns not is that
the coat did you pick them to make the playoffs?
I'm just asking, Yeah, No, I don't think I picked them.

(06:17):
I I don't remember. You didn't trust me. But anyway,
they smashed. They smashed the Coats thirty four to seven.
And Breeze in addition to being the career leader now
in touchdown passers, remember he's also the career leader again
breaking Paid Manning's record for yards strong forward seven seventy

(06:39):
six thousand, five hundred and seventy seven. And the question
that got this got Robin I thinking, because look, obviously
he's a Hall of Famer that's not even worth it.
But and and he's an all time great, but he's
not viewed. We don't believe neither one of us believes

(07:02):
he's viewed in the same category of the same ilk
as Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, John Elway. Uh, you know
a few more guys you with the Damn Marino, even
Aaron Rodgers. Even Aaron Rodgers, they both have one superwin
and Marino Marino has none. But most people would look

(07:22):
at Marino ahead of Yes, And so why what's your
thoughts on that? Rob Like, why do you think Breeze
doesn't get that type of love. I think it's a combination, Um,
he's had some bad years or team that has had
some bad years, right, and they just a team stretch
the team he's put individually. So so he went three years, right,

(07:45):
then they go before last year, three years in the
row seven and nine and didn't make the playoffs. Yes,
that was Breeze wasn't hurt. He played well. Look, three
straight years they went seven and nine. One year in
there was seven and eight. He was he only played
fifteen games. Uh. And then in a forty five years stretch,
they went seven and nine four of the five years.

(08:06):
That's what I mean. Right. So people look at that
and say, yeah, he has the numbers. Yeah, he's played
a long time. But I don't know if they would
if you were starting a team that just because he
has the touchdown record and what else the yards that
that would be enough if you would, if you were
choosing up teams I'm talking about because you want to win,
you would you were looking, go, I might take Dan

(08:28):
Marino before him, right, Yeah. I think there's two reasons.
I think that's the strongest that when we think of
the all time the ultra elite quarterbacks, the thing we
think about rob is that they're going to win. You
might not win Super Bowls or even a Super Bowl
in the case of Dan Marino, but you will always

(08:50):
be in the hunt. Aaron Rodgers has one super Bowl,
just like Drew Brees. But guess what. Aaron Rodgers teams
are always in the hunt. I mean, you know, I
know he's missed the playoffs a couple of years lately,
but they're always in the hunt. And the reason that
they chance might not be because of the defensior running
back that they don't have. But it's about Aaron Rodger, right.

(09:12):
It has always been that right, and I think that's
what it is. Look, we see it in the NBA.
James Harden, if he continues this pace, will have be
the only player other than Wilt Chamberlain to average as
many points a game as he is thirty eight thirty
nine points a game this year. But we don't think
of him right now in the same breath as Michael Jordan,

(09:35):
Kobe Bryant, Kevin Durant, any of those guys because they
won at some point. It's great to do your thing individually,
and you do get love, you get Hall of Fame plaques,
you know, you're viewed as an all time great, but
to be ultra elite, ultra elite, you've got to win more.
And again he does have a super Bowl, no want.

(09:57):
I think the fact that they've had several losing seasons
under his watch. Nineteen years, he said, And nineteen years.
He's been in the playoffs nine times. So more than
half of your career, you're not making the playoffs. With that,
I think that's what it is. With that being said,
there's a quarterback out there's played a long time. Or

(10:18):
maybe he hasn't been in the playoffs as many times,
but maybe he's been the more. He's won more super
Bowls than Drew Brees. Who are you talking about? My guy?
Oh my god? Wait? Wait wait wait wait wait, wait
here we go wait. I know you are not about

(10:39):
to sit here on a national radio with millions of
people listening. We got millions, millions or a few hundred
all right somewhere. You're not gonna sit here. I'm giving
you the benefit of doll Rod. I know you got
some crazy takes, but you are not about to tell

(11:00):
me that you would rather have Eli Manning's career over
Drew Breeses. I absolutely would stop it. No, I'm telling
you from this, about this, Rob think about the abot
what you're saying, think about you. I'm gonna give you
a few Calm down. I'm all right, Rob Ge, bring

(11:23):
him some water. I think you are saying, I got
a fountain guy a code today that you would rather
have Eli Manning's career, which in the regular season has
been the very definition of media of media seventeen ye,
he's right at the five hrk. But the thing I'm
looking at is for all of Drew Brees's touchdowns and

(11:47):
all of his yards, he still has just the one championship,
and there were plenty of because you made the point
that he wasn't an automatically a difference changer from the
standpoint that he was going to get you to the
playoffs if you didn't have a good defense or you
didn't have a good running back. And what ten times otta,

(12:09):
what are you got? Nineteen nineteen he didn't make the playoffs.
That's more than half. That's more than half. He did
not make the playoffs. Elies not even I'm gonna look
up what Eli ist I was gonna say, what Eli
making about seven times out of his career I'd say
he made the playoffs seven times, that would be my guest.

(12:31):
But my point is when it really mattered those two championships, Man,
you cannot take those away. That's what you play for.
You play to win the championship. And Eli didn't didn't.
He wasn't a game manager. He wasn't a guy who
just rode the coattails or some unbelievable defense, and he
didn't have to do anything but not turn the ball

(12:53):
over Chris. He took down the eighteen and old Patriots,
who destroyed every body in their way right arguably the greatest,
one of the great the greatest team ever had. They
won that Super Bowl and blown out the Giants. ELI
won that game there, and then he won another game
against Tom Brady and the Patriots, and then both games

(13:17):
Eli was the MVP, and then both games had signature
throws that when they talk about the greatest throws in
the history of the Super Bowl, man talk about the
greatest will be included. But if he didn't elude the defender,
I give you that he did because I should have
been about the catch off the helmet then it was

(13:40):
and the Manningham throw that leg, but he look rob
and Eli, for what it's worth, has made the playoffs
six out of sixteen, six out of sixteen. I don't
care how you slice it. I don't care how you
cut it. I don't care how you package it. There
is no way, no way that you can convince me

(14:05):
that you would rather have or that it's better. Eli
Manning had a better career than Drew Brees. Drew Brees
is number one in touchdowns, number one in yards, and
has a Super Bowl. I would take Dan Marino's career
over Eli personally, but you would take a guy never one, yes,
just like I would check that Barkley's career over uh,

(14:31):
who else? No, Kevin Love? Okay, I get that. I'm
not gonna say just a straight up role player. I
would take Barkley's career over Kevin Love. But but when
you talk about Eli and what he was, it wasn't
like uh and you said a Medioca five hundred. It
wasn't like he's uh forty games under five hundred and
got lucky in two games. Those playoff runs by the

(14:51):
Giants were Eli fueled. So people can talk about all
they were all they had a great defense and Michael Strahan,
they did I don't know if i'd say, you're right.
He was never a game man. He was. He was
never like the part of the yeah, of the reason
that they won. And that's why fuel that's a little
because both of them he was the driving for. They

(15:11):
were both comeback victories where they needed even after he
made the David Tywee, all right, if you want to
give him credit for that catch, saying that they was
his catch, they didn't score a touchdown on that play.
They still had to score touchdown player No, but to
win the game. Didn't that save the drive? Right? But
I'm just saying, Chris, that didn't guarantee you're gonna throw
a touchdown to Plexico Burrows to win the game. What

(15:35):
just because he has two Super Bowls? To Drew Brees
is one hell to eli, that's it hell to elive.
Thing else. Drew Brees was much better. And there are
some who would say Drew Brees is ultra elite. We're
gonna see what the cars. But I'm sure some people
will say he is ultra elite. I can't believe. You

(15:56):
know it's great about Drew Brees that if you see
him out the field, that's sometimes you feel like you
want to pick him up? You know what I mean.
I mean, that's the best poet. He lies, not the
same way he lies, not some ADMONI sub just took
about I met his size that you want to pick
him up? Like all right? Eight seven seven ninety I
can't believe with Rob Parker just said. But eight seven
seven you lucky Rod Woodson and one fired eight seven

(16:19):
seven ninety nine on Fox eight seven seven nine nine
six sixty three sixty nine. We want to know from you,
why isn't Drew Brees mentioned alongside the ultra elite quarterbacks
NFL history? And whose career would you rather have? The
mediocre Eli Mannings or the terrific Drew Breeses You're turned

(16:44):
away in It's The Eye Couple Chris and Rob Fox
Sports Radio. I ain't paying for that. Be sure to
catch live editions of The Odd Couple with Chris Broussard
and Rob Parker week days at seven pm Eastern four
pm Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeart Radio.
While you are tuned into The Odd Couple on a
trash Talking Tuesday, and we, of course they're bringing you

(17:09):
Christmas jams for the rest of the month. We want
to get you guys in the spirit. We we hear
very much in the spirit. We disagree about a lot,
but we don't disagree agree about Christmas. We both know
you kidding Christmas. I haven't found a person that doesn't
like like Christmas gifts and just the uh hang out
with very nicer. All right, we should do. Let's get

(17:32):
to the calls, because people I know are little worked up,
got their panties in a bunch today eight seven, seven
ninety nine on Fox, Drew Brees why is he mentioned
among the ultra elite? Or do you think he is
ultra elite? And if you want to address Rod Parker's
ridiculous assertion, Eli Many's career was better than Drew Breeses
do so let's go to Josh and Pennsylvania. Josh, Welcome

(17:54):
to the odd Couple. Hey, Merry Christmas, fellas Christmasts. I'm good.
I got Breeze roughly, I'd say six or seven on
the all time list. I think that's fair. You got
Montana and Brady are the young question you know Manning,
wouldn't you say Manning? Right? I think if Montana didn't

(18:14):
snapped his leg, he probably gets another ring or two.
You know, um, I'd say yeah, Manning, I'd say I'd
take Alway for sure, Yeah, and then probably far and Rogers.
And if you think about it, who's Rogers, you know,
coach for most of his career, right McCarthy, I mean

(18:36):
he you know, Breeze has Sean Payton, Dell Rogers. And
let's let's be fair too. It is it is incredibly
difficult to compare eras with quarterbacks became. Yeah, even Montana eightman,
thanks somebody all the time. Grades their stats don't even
come close to me, right? Is that Deveri, Deveri and

(19:01):
devri yup in Kansas, you on the odd couple of
Fox Sports Radio. What you got, deveris? Hey, guys, Merry Christmas,
longtime listener, third time callers, Thank you Christmas. De Hey, Okay,
I got three points real quick. I'll be quick. Number one.
First of all, Chris love you, But baby Barkley V
love you. Gotta come up with a better analogy than that,

(19:21):
Sweetie Barkley. Well, you were rather have bos, right you were?
Oh haven't yet? Oh yeah, Well I didn't want to
say Robert Ry or Steve Kerr who had tons of rings.
But you know, they weren't stars. I was looking for
star stars. One. All right, okay. Point number two, Um,
love you Chris, but Bob is five thousand percent. Guys.

(19:46):
Did you guys go to college? No, I don't know.
De Come on, really, I mean it's not like it's
I like Breeze doesn't have a ring. I didn't say that.
I Breeze great guy, but it the eight number one,
number two, he's just no, honey, Eli's yes, Eli's better. Okay,
in real quick anyway, you didn't just say you'd rather

(20:09):
have Eli's career. You said he's better Eli. Man, he's
better than Drew Brees. I did say that. Sorry, Okay,
so you apologize. Wait a minute, last point, last point
go ahead, okay. My last point is it is merry Christmas.
How can I go to get robbed? All you got
is ginormous sizes? I'm five seven twenty. What do you

(20:30):
want to get? Small? What are you looking for? You?
What do you need? A small sweatshirt? I might have
it for you. Oh hold on, hold on, We'll get
your information. I'll get back to you. Hold on, Let's
go to Isaiah and ball Tomore. Isaiah, welcome to the eye.
Come can you show that she goes to get robbed.
You guys, Happy holidays. Man. I was at the mall

(20:50):
and then when Rob said Eli, Oh, I just I
just almost threw drop. I just couldn't believe it. Oh Rob.
I love championships. I I would rather win a championship
in the MVP any day. But I really think you
are overweighting one more championship. We're not talking about Joe Montana.
We're talking about one more championship Eli. Men, what are

(21:12):
we even talking about? I just I can't even think
of a discussion right now on how ELI would be
view better as your grieve than any type of and
what a championship. Everybody says Tom Brady's to go to
at least Chris bu saw, but he beat He beat

(21:34):
Brady twice. He beat the eighteen and old Patriots at
average thirty eight points a day. I'm saying, you know
what you just said. He beat the Patriots at average
thirty eight points a game. As if ELI was out
there tackling nobody made. He made the players to win
that game. That's all my points in Tennessee. Let's squeeze him. Man,

(21:59):
you're on the a couple of Fox Sports Radio. These guys,
I've always it's always a pleasure to talk to y'all
guys on the way home. Hey, Rob, I got I mean,
Chris has some crazy stuff sometimes, but I gotta ride
with Chris on this way. I take Drew Brees's career
over Elon Manning, even though he's got the two championships.
Second of all, I wouldn't put Drew Brees in the

(22:20):
top five of the ulter echelons of quarterbacks, but I
would put him in the top ten. You gotta look
at one thing, guys. These rule changes for these quarterbacks
have gotten better and better to help down. So I'm
just saying the reason why Drew Brees is out there
slinging around looking like an old school blood slinger, it's
because they can't touch him. Dude. They can't. Man. Did

(22:42):
you'll see Michael Thomas last night? Dude? He was he was.
He was racking them fools last night coming across the
middle because they couldn't do nothing with him. It's it's
the rules of the game have made it better. The
top five y'all got it right, alway, Manny Montana, Brady,
all those guys from Reno, Bret Farm, those guys. Drew

(23:03):
Brees is definitely better than Eli Manning, but he comes
in top ten in my living, Thanks Jerry. Folks can
hate on Lebron James for a handful of things, but
this isn't one of them. I'll explain next. But first,

hard part is figuring out which way is easier. All Right,

(23:47):
the Los Angeles Lakers look like they might be about
to blow out the Indiana Pacers. Not an easy feat
in Indiana. The Pacers actually having a pretty good year.
They don't have all right, They're gonna be a factor
when they get older. Incredible Lakers up twenty four sixteen
in the first quarter. Here's the thing. Guess who's playing

(24:10):
Lebron James. Because Lebron does not believe in low management.
He told us as much last night the other last game.
Here's what he said. Why I wouldn't not play if
I'm healthy. It doesn't make any sense to me personally.
I mean, I don't know how many games I got
left for my career. I don't know how many kids
that may show up to a game to they're to
come see me playing. If I sit out, then what

(24:33):
that's my obligation. My obligation is to play for my
teammates and if i'm if I'm healthy, I'm gonna play.
If coach sets me out, then I'm not healthy. And
it's just that simple. I love it. Lebron twenty nineteen.
I love it. He's such a foony. Lebron is a
straight up foony. That phony because a couple of years
ago when he was taking all those games off when

(24:54):
he came to lay before last year and Cleveland when
he was hurt last No, I'm the last year in
Cleveland when he took the games off, he came to
La Fans, he played, he played in the Clippers game,
and he set out I mean, he played in the
Lakers game on on Friday and set out the Clippers
game on Sunday, and all those kids had Lebron jerseys.
They cried their eyes out, they were so bummed out,

(25:17):
and he was not heard. If you remember, the league
came down, Lebron played all the games the next year
because the league came down on the guys for for
taking the load management. Lebron did load management last year,
Rob g didn't he he That's where we got the
turn from Stas from Lebron James. And now he's trying
to rub it in Kawhi Leonard's face. Oh if I

(25:42):
rub rub if I'm healthy, I'm gonna play. A little
kid came by tickets, all right? Stop? Are you talking
about that? Hate load management? And you're you're always the
one railing about what about the ten year olds? What
about the nine year olds? They get to go to
one game a year and Kawhi doesn't play. Hey, you

(26:03):
gonna jump on Lebron Jay? Are you talking about load
management last year? Two years ago? Eighty two games? You
know that's a year. That's a yearn't played eighty two
because that was the first time in his career he
played eighty two. The year before that seventy four. That's
six sixty. You're not load managing when you played seventy
six games, just seventy four gas. He was saying the

(26:26):
game don't ere in there. He says, not load manage.
He said that if I'm healthy, I'm playing. He missed,
He set those games out. I remember the one in LA.
People were so upset. And there was another one in
Memphis where he didn't even make the trip and it
was near Christmas Chris and people got tickets, the kids
got tickets for Christmas. And Lebron was not n ot

(26:48):
hurt and didn't even make the trip. And I'm just
telling you, so, don't don't act like I never did
load management and you never disappointed anybody. That's what I'm playing.
One are two games here or there Michael Jordan play again.
So why wasn't Michael Jordan in terms of durability came alone?
How about I'm disappointing ple missing a few games here?

(27:12):
There is not low management. We are now talking about
missing twenty some GA. And I like Kawai's so I'm
not just making it about Kawhi, but I don't like
the low management. Lebron is right on the money. I
don't like LOWD management either. What it were you ripping
Lebron James when he says, if I'm healthy, I'm playing.
Because you say if I'm writing, I'm ripping. He says,

(27:34):
if I'm healthy, I'm bawling because he took weeks off.
Don't you remember a couple of years ago he went
to Miami, wasn't healthy. He took two weeks off and
we charged the one every serious. First, you remember that
his first year in Cleek took two weeks. He was homesick,
he missed, he had spent four years at the beach
in Miami. Everyone needed to get himself together mentally, emotionally,

(27:55):
him and spiritually, him and Dwayne Way at the Cleveland
or whatever that play it's just called in Miami. That's
where he was hold on. You watched the beginning of
that season. We all looked at that and said, this
is not the normal Lebron James, and he it was
like he was missing something. He wasn't healthy. He had
two weeks off to get himself together, and he came

(28:18):
back bawling and has been bawling ever since. What what's
so difficult about this? I'm just saying he's trying to
I can't believe you today. First, you would take Eli
Manning over Drew Brees. Now you're ripping Lebron for ripping
load management because he did load management. He's not doing
this game and all the sudden he's gonna point fingers

(28:38):
because you know why Kawhi Leonard came to La took
away a little of his shine. He playing all hard
in November and December. He's afraid that that the Kawhi
is gonna spoil the broth at the end of the
NBA season when the Clippers win the championship and knocked
him out. So this is his little dig on Kawhi.
Dig all you want. It ain't gonna help you come

(29:01):
postseason time, so you can ahead hire you. You're gonna
sit here, rip Lebron James for respecting the game. No,
but but he's respecting the game. He's actually playing a
career low in minutes. That's how you load man. But
he oh managed by dropping your minutes from thirty eight,
thirty six to thirty three or thirty four. That's how
you load Man's not just by sitting out complete games.

(29:24):
Lebron did that. As my point, I don't act like
he never did it. Every blue moon, the Commissioner had
to sit down with him the year he played eighty two.
That was a by product because ABC and ESPN were
so mad that him and Golden State they missed those
Saturday night games right on ABC. You remember that, I remember,

(29:45):
all right, And that's what I'm saying. And they weren't hurt.
So my point is, don't act like Lebron. Don't act
like you never took off when you weren't when you
were healthy, because that's not true. And in eighty two
games season, that's all I'm saying. And in eighty two
games season, Lebrin has played. Last year was hurt. Obviously
played fifty five. He also had a sixty nine game

(30:07):
season once. Other than that, he's always played at least
seventy four games at least Kawai's longest season ever seventy
four games. No, but and that's only twice. He's played twice.
I believe he's played in the seventies. I get it.
But point though Chris is don't talk about it doesn't

(30:30):
make sense to me. That's what he said. If I'm healthy,
I'm playing. That's what he said. He didn't say that,
You know what, I was a part of this little
stop load management. And you know what he was. I see,
I see, I was wrong about it. And I won't
do that because I'm cheating a fan. Because conversation game stop.
He has never been right about this. He's had to

(30:52):
get him as an author of Lord manage. But he's
the one who termed it. We didn't even know when
he took off his goals he would is full effect. Y'all?
All right? The Saint n Rough shot over the Coats
last night, the same Coats that Rob Parker picked to
make the playoffs. Bust. You know enough he's pick top
spot of NFL Parker's power rankings. It's your chance to

(31:16):
be your Your rankings have actually been decent lately. What
do you see? Probably number one? We'll find out next.

All right, the moment we've all been waiting for, it's
time for Ry Parker's Power rankings. Do you need the
power Well, it's Parkers Power Ranking. All right. I'm gonna

(32:26):
tell you a couple of teams that are not in
the top five, just just to scard. So the New
England Patriots with eleven wins not an OT in the
top five. Also, the Kansas City Chiefs with ten wins
are not an OT in the top five. All right,

(32:46):
so let's go. Let's start it off. Number five, the
Seattle Seahawks. They have eleven wins as well. They continue
to win. You know, there was some question about there
were a seedual early on, but they got eleven wins.
So they just number in the top five. Tough rugged NFC. Yeah,
I know they were up there. Number five. Huh all right,
number four, number four, that's San Francisco forty niners. They

(33:12):
have eleven wins. There were another eleven win team and uh,
I like that game against the Saints, Chris, Uh, It's
and I know that was two weeks ago, but I
can't get over it. What they were able to do
in New Orleans to be to win that game against
the Saints. Where they ranked last week? Do you know?
I think they were about four two? Right? They were
around the sand. So they can go and lose to

(33:37):
the Atlanta Falcons, yes, and stay where they because that
win against the Saints. You know, when you get caught
sometimes you're gonna lose a bad game. What you were
weekly power rankings. If they got caught, it should show
in the rankings. And that's all I'm saying. And there
were number four, all right, let three the New Orleans Saints.

(34:00):
They're number three. They got the big win yesterday against it.
I don't know if the Colts even show up. So
sometimes I gotta take a look at the wins and
I gotta figure out how much do have value are
with the wins and who are they beating? But anyway,
they have eleven wins. They're eleven and three. You gotta
do you see a trend here? All the teams in
my top five, they all have eleven wins. I can't

(34:21):
believe what you're about to do. All right, Number two,
Number two, the Green Bay Packers. They got eleven wins
as well. Weren't they out of the top five last
year week? No, they were I think five. I think
they still were in there. I don't have in front
of me. But anyway they get a win, they have

(34:42):
to hold off the Bears, the Bears. The Bears were desperate.
The Bears needed that game. That was a game that
they had to have, Chris, and they got it. That's
a big game. It's a it's a rivalry game with
the team that they've played the most. So they're number two.
It was a big game, even though it was at home.
They beat the Bears twice this year, and the Packers

(35:06):
are the number two team, number one, and I don't
think there's any surprise. I can't even pooh poo what
the Baltimore Ravens have done twelve and two. They just
keep winning. What is that winning streak? Now? Nine games?
Is nine? Is it ten? So they've won ten games

(35:28):
in a row, Witches, And they were a lot of
lot landmines Chris along the way, and they just keep rolling.
I thought, really that they might have to take a
step back, and they just blew out the Jets that
they were not thinking about the Jets, they didn't need
the game as much, and they blew the Jets out.
They are twelve and two, ten game winning streak, and
without question, they are the number one team in the NFL.

(35:55):
Rack them, Well, you don't like the Packers, that's the
only one. No. I like. I like Aaron Rodgers. I
just I'm a little amazed. It's a weekly power rank.
It's not a monthly one. I understand a monthly when
I could see a team, you know you're letting go
of a bad loss. But the forty nine ers, they don't.

(36:18):
Nothing happens, they don't drop, they don't not affected, not
from a loving and and the Chiefs are punished. The
Patriots who smash granted a hapless Tocinnati Bengals thing. But
at least they won, I mean San Francisco didn't even win.
And they faced the bad Atlanta Falcon atlant Us not
winless Atlanta. They won five six games. Yes, but you're

(36:40):
talking about the Patriots. Just beat the Bengals. I'm supposed
to give them credit. The Bengals are one and twelve
but one of all right, and they had their signs,
so in the world, I'm gonna give them credit for that.
The Patriots they did not have. They did. What about
Kansas City in that snow storm, just giving just for
going up to Denver, they got four losses, snow Store.

(37:03):
Broncos stink. Broncos have had some good victories, they stink.
I'm not buying them even in the snow. You don't
have any problems. Your power rankings are so biased, man,
but they're the most biased in the world. And the
biased power rankings, that's what we need to call them. Chris.
One of these days you're gonna graduate this and you'll
understand the method to my madness. You'll go this guy

(37:26):
was I was sitting next to a genius. Uh and
I didn't even know it, right, I don't know it.
That's the darn sure. I don't think I'm ever coming
to that revelation. I don't think it's gonna hit me,
but not bad. I mean, look, we'll see the bottom line.
Here's the best thing, Rob, It's all about to be settled, right,

(37:47):
it'll be settled soon enough, and we'll see if your
power rankings are better than your preseason picks. When you
picked New England, I bet you I'm gonna have Indiana.
I'm gonna have the Charges. I'm gonna have more right
than you already we already did it. Oh we have more.
We'll do it again at the end of the season.

Era baseball cap And we still have some more of
those to give away, and we'll do that until we
don't have anymore. So get your takes ready, come hard,
come correct, all right, Rob, interesting piece in the Sports
Business Journal they named a franchise of the decade, not
in any one particular sports, but all sports. So it
could have been a baseball team, could have been a

(39:55):
basketball team, football team, whatever, And they pick the Golden
State Warriors. What the Golden State Warriors as their team
of the decade, And it sounds like you don't agree,
I really don't. Well. During that decade, they also were
the authors of the Biggest Choke in NBA histories, for

(40:15):
NBA Finals history, they did win three championships. But and
and you know, you know, the Patriots rubbed me the
wrong way. But the Patriots won three championships. The Patriots
went to the playoffs every single year during that decade.
Golden State didn't go every year. Chris, I'm with some
other things there that I don't even even understand. How

(40:37):
could a team make it to the playoffs all ten years,
win right conference from championship eight times? Isn't that what
it is? Or let me let me read what they've done,
because I don't. I don't get this, because there's really
we thought about it. There's no other team it could
be other than the Warriors or the Patriots. But the

(40:58):
Patriots have better numbers of going by that. Well, look,
if you go buy championships, Patriots have three, Warriors have three.
If you go buy finals appearances, the Patriots were in
five Super Bowls. The Warriors were in five NBA finals.
Conference championship games. The Patriots were in eight eight out
of ten. Eight out of ten they made it to

(41:19):
the conference finals. Wow. And the Warriors, of course five
times made the playoffs. Patriots ten times. So every every
year of the decade. As you said, they made the playoffs,
the Warriors seven times. Regular season win percentage and can
I said, it's one thing, Chris, before you can go on,
don't forget in the NBA half the league makes the playoffs, right, Yes, harder,

(41:43):
it's harder than half sixteen out of thirty and then
in the NFL is twelve out of thirty two. So
you see what I'm saying, right, chieves you in the
NBA to make the playoffs. Question regular season win percentage,
Patriots seven eighty five, Warriors six forty five. I mean
there it is right there. The team of the decade,
the franchise of the decade is clearly, without question, undoubtedly,

(42:08):
undisputably the New England Patriots. The only way, and I
doubt this played in the sports business journals thinking, but
the only way you could not pick the Patriots is
if you think that they cheated throughout the decade, or
if you hold Spygate against them. The flate gate was

(42:31):
in this decade, Spygate was not no, right, that's how
long they've been cheating, right, Let you think that they
just cheated, How in the world could you not pick
or maybe you think any little hint of cheating, one
scandal one maybe they think they maybe just picking the
Warriors currently decade, not over the worst team in the NBA,

(42:54):
right right now, right now in San Francisco, Chris, if
you have two Warriors tickets and you leave them on
your windshield and you go into the store hoping somebody
will grab them. When you come back out, there's four
tickets out there. That's how bad it is right now
in San Francisco. In the chase, I'm gonna set set
you up. I'm gonna throw you a softball. All right.

(43:16):
It's so quiet in the Warriors that what you can
hear a mouse urinate on. Uh, Steph Curry's a unanimous
MVP trophy. It's it's there's Look, I'm sorry, and I
I like the Warriors. You're all into staff and I

(43:36):
love staff. Great, Kevin Durant, history will be great. Yes,
this is too much because first of all, for the
first half of the decade, they were an afterthought, right,
I mean early in the decade they weren't even making
the making the playoffs. And then they did make the
playoffs a few years. Pretty good team. And the other
thing too special. They also went out I got the

(43:58):
losing the three to one, right, and also they had
to go out and get Kevin Durant. That that tilted
the scales their way, like like to me, it was
almost unfair. But you can't blow I'm just saying, I mean,
they give them, give them credit. They recruited the great
Kevin Durant, but it tilted the scales and and and
competitive balance. Would you agree with that, Oh, it definitely did.

(44:21):
I just can't hold that against them. I'm just saying
any team would have done it. But if you have
a chance of Yankees, they already have Garrit Cole, they
already have uh you know, Gi and Carlostan. Well, I mean,
I'm trying to figure out how to describe their offensive
line up right, you know, but it's tremendous, one of
the best offensive lineups in the league, best power hitting

(44:42):
team in the league. And now you add Garrit Cole.
You mean to tell me if they could somehow trade
for Steven Strasburg or Matt Scherzer, they wouldn't. No, but
they didn't do it. Credit, but you would give them credit,
but they didn't do it. Could do that, but they didn't.
They would love to any NBA though one player changes everything.

(45:03):
You know, it's it only only two or three guys matter, Chris,
Let's just be honest. But I think in this discussion
that has to be a benefit for the Warriors. I
hear you. It definitely changed the landscape and made the
NBA nine competitor for a few years. But I'm not
gonna fought the Warriors for that. If you would faught anybody,

(45:25):
and I didn't do this at the time either, but
if you would fault anybody, you'll be Kevin Durant for
going there. I certainly wouldn't faught the Warriors for you know,
making the rich richer. That's what they're supposed to do.
So I wouldn't go there. And of course, you know
they were one of the top analytical teams. You know,

(45:47):
they turned a bad franchise into a model franchise all
in the midst of this decade. They did great stuff.
They certainly would be the NBA team of the decade.
Remember they reached five straight finals. First didn't do that,
Si Bill Russells, Boston Celting. So we'll give you this

(46:07):
Sports Business Journal they are the NBA team of the decade.
But there is no way. And you hear Rod Parker,
who is the when when I look up Patriots hater
in the dictionary in my picture of Max Max Kellerman's.
But your second part, I don't know how I lost
the dig at you. You already know you wish your

(46:29):
picture was in there. It hurt me because I was
in all the videos, the team videos that they were leased.
How was I not doing? How did I not win that?
Max was in there too? Though was here? No, he wasn't.
Don't say that. What are you saying, Chris? I was
in there a lot. She was in there, You were
in the credits. And then after they had a clipper
me talking. Then Bill Bellich just says, don't listen to

(46:51):
what those people are saying about you. They say you're
old and you can't do it, and you can't win.
And it was that after was the end of that video.
It was all the check saying let's send them to Mexico.
And there's look, you Patriots hated. They bring you onto

(47:15):
the radio station in Boston just to get the Patriots
riled up, just to get them amped up for the
game that weekend, and you're saying they're the team of
the decade. I am, and you know me, I must
I am the most objective sports writer in this country
that far, because you can't be when you're when you
step away. Your motto is, if I'm writing, I'm ripping,

(47:37):
You're not the most objective. You're looking for something to rip.
That's the something. That's the New York state of money.
So something that is good, I won't write that day.
That's the New York state of mind. Right in New York,
you feel like you got a rip. That's what Gus
Johnson said. You remember, Yeah, he was writing on the money,
Gus week I covered the Knicks for New York Times.

(47:58):
He was doing their broadcast, and that's that's the New
York state of mind. But I was right, Gus, what's wrong.
We'll have more to gain because that was we remember
we talked about what he said, Jim Harball to Jim
Harball stuff, and he was back in Jim Harball. Well,
you're saying you can't fire him. I'm just wasn't firing. Yeah,
he's been a total failure. Stop it total. We'll get

(48:20):
to stop it later. We we gotta get to that,
because that's ridiculous. You went to the game get you
and your family and parents got up and walked out
just a minute. You ate the tickets, you put catch
up on them, and you were like, I'm not sitting
through this. I'm not. If it hadn't been freezing, I
would have. No, you wouldn't. And you know what, Chris
sounded a lot like me when it came to paying

(48:43):
for the tickets after he realized how bad it was. No,
I know I heard you were gonna get beat. I
had no delusions that they were gonna beat Ohio State. No,
you know Ohio State. You know I'm from Ohio. We
got got some bad, bad boy, we got sound of
you at that game. I ain't paying for that. That's

(49:05):
why you walked out. That's why you too late. By
then it was too late to pay. I was happy
to pay for the ticket. How much you pay for
those nice family events? How much did you pay for those?
I'm not saying, Chris, come on, how much did you immed? No,
they weren't calmed. How many chickets did you pop us
up in that I got access to the ticket. That

(49:26):
was what the hook up was. But I had to pay.
I tell you what, Rod, it was great. It was
a great experience because I've been there before, didn't pay.
I sat a little higher. It was Maryland. It wasn't
you know, it wasn't that hype, and or I'd been
there and sat in the press. Boy, but it's a
little in the midst of the hype. In the first

(49:47):
quarter when it was still a game, it was great.
But they don't have backs on the sheet. No, they
know that's why they can jam as many as they wanted.
But it was It was a lot of fun. But look,
the bottom line is this. The team of the decade
in any sport, in every sport is the New England
Patriots period the end. Now, unless we find out they

(50:09):
cheated in every single year, then they go down as
a team in a decade. I don't see how anybody
could disagree with that. With all due respect to the
Golden State Warriors. All right, what say you eight seven
seven ninety nine on Fox eight seven seven nine nine
six sixty three sixty nine. Did the Warriors deserve to
be crowned the franchise of the decade? And if not,

(50:33):
who should it have been? We'll continue the conversation with you. Next,
it's the Eye Couple with Rob and Chris Fox Sports Radio.
If you want to crown them the Crowners. Be sure
to catch live editions of The Odd Couple with Chris
Brusar then Rob Parker weekdays at seven pm Eastern four
pm Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeart Radio apps.

(50:54):
All right, it's the Eye Couple of Chris Brusar Rob Parker.
We talk sports and in sports, information is vital. It
snow different when you're shopping for a car. Ask Rob Parker,
he just bought a new car. A splendid new car.
Might reveal it one day, a couple of months ago,
might get you a few dates if you reveal it.
But you don't want that type of date. You don't

(51:15):
want a woman that just wants you for no what.
You want it because I'm devinare, I'm smart, I'm good looking, interesting? Well,
is that why you you're sinking? Rob went to True
Car when he bought his car because True Car shows
you what other people pay for the car you want.
So when you're ready to discover, buy or sell your

(51:37):
next car, make sure you visit True Car. We threw
it out to you eight seven, seven ninety nine on
Fox eight seven seven nine nine six sixty three sixty nine. Lot,
do you want to weigh in who was the franchise
in any sport of the decade. Let's go with Tearing
in Seattle. Tearing, you're on with Chris and Rob. Hey,
how you guys doing the day. You guys do a

(51:58):
great job. Thank you, my man. S Even if I
don't read the show notes, thank you Hey. I just
want to say that the Words is a team of
the decade. I get the Patriots have had a lot
of success, but there's two reasons. One, the Warriors absolutely
changed the game. Even the way James Harden is playing.
The fact that Trey Young is in the league now
and doing what he does is a function to Steph

(52:21):
Curry and Clay doing what they did. They transformed the league.
But they transformed the league. But what I will give you,
I think the only thing I'll say is but nobody
else has been able to duplicate it, so they people's
everything is a copycat league. People have always copycatted things
that have changed in the league, so this is nothing new.
It's always been that way. I actually give them some

(52:43):
points for that. I just don't think it's enough to
override what the Patriots is what's your second reason. The
second reason is I think Belichick and Brady have gotten
a free pass because of what they've done in the
NFL list. If those guys go down as cheaters, it's
a black for the NFL. And I think if it
was a less successful team or even potentially a cult

(53:06):
of color that got caught with their hand in the
cookie jar a couple of times befo spy Gate, in
the playgate, I think history would remember them a little
bit differently and we'd be less forgiven for it. A
lot of people that a lot of people also think
the Warriors when they when they brought in Kevin Durant,
that they pushed the envelope, messed up to competitive balance
in the league, and messed up the NBA by going

(53:28):
out winning seventy three games. Chris, and I'm just saying,
but I'm saying, there's some people who who you know,
we even people meant you didn't we even hear what
was Clyde Fraser about it being an asteris people like that?
My point is people have looked at Kevin Durant as
being ins I haven't seen anybody criticized the Warriors. Why

(53:50):
wouldn't you If you're the Warriors, go get them. Shoot.
If he wants to go to your team, let's go
to Eric and Oregon. Eric, you with Chris and Robb. Hey, gentlemen,
as always, I appreciate you taking my call. Thanks Er. Yeah, yeah,
Hey man, you guys. You know I'm a Hooper man.
You know I love my Hoops, but I gotta go
with Patriots. Man, for a couple of the reasons that
you said. I mean, the numbers don't lie. But sadly, man,

(54:13):
I think relevancy and storyline is part of what makes
the team the team of the decade, right, And sadly,
I think the cheating kind of helps their case here
because it's kept them in the headlines. And I agree
it's for the wrong reasons, and I do not like
the Patriots, but you know, I got so you're just
saying the team that's been in the news the entire decade. No,
I mean, I'm just saying, like, they obviously have one

(54:35):
and they got the numbers, But I think that's the storyline.
The fact that they've remained relevant the entire decade helps
their case because it's part about relevancy and the storyline.
I agree with that I just can't see how the
cheating will help. Yeah, no, but I know the relevancy
that they were in the headlines. Thanks Eric for the call.
Trucker Don is in Boston. I already know where he's going.
But let's go truck the guys that can't do it.

(54:59):
I'm in the truck stop tonight. Okay, all right, thank
you taking my call. I appreciate it. Great show as always,
Thank you all, except for the power rankings. I know
I'm with you. I'm gonna send you a board game. Uh, Rob,
It's it's called clue. He needs to get a clue, right,

(55:23):
to get a clue? That right, that's pretty creative. Now
he's gonna steal that. He's gonna steal that down, just
so you know, that's right. That's all right. It's always
my pleasure to give give Rob smile. Hey, hey, John,
you know I was on an E on a E
I uh not too long ago last week to talk patriots.
You know that. I love it. It was awesome too,

(55:46):
talking trash and you know it and that was great.
Thank you. What's that Yoh? Yeah? You always. I love it.
I appreciate it. You know, you even talk trash on
Rob Kraft when when the poor man went into that
uh that massage parlor. I mean everybody knows that Rob
Gronkowski was getting ready to retire and Bob Kraft was
just in looking for a new tight end. Oh duo, Wow,

(56:12):
looking Trucker died. Look like that? Aaron in Indiana. Aaron,
you're on with the guys. Hey, how's it going you
guys doing? Hey? Pretty good? Um? So I think, I
mean it has to be the Patriots. There really no
other answer, because I mean, if you look at the Warriors,
it's really only been five years and half Wade, right,
the Patriots have made the playoff for for whatever we

(56:34):
want to say, all ten years, right, and you're not
teaming it. And it's and it's harder to make the
playoffs in the NFL compared to the NBA. We're more
than half the teams make the playoff. And there's more
worst to first, first to worst episodes in the NFL too.
That happens every year. There's a team that falls off
for a team that rises. So yeah, I agree with

(56:54):
let's going to Mike and Lancaster, California. Mike, you're on
with Chris and Rob Mike. Yeah, who's your team? All right? Man,
I ben't waiting to get on. Man, I'm from Oakland, California.
I'm down here in Lancasters, and uh, when I got here,
the Warriors wasn't doing a bunch of nothing, you know
what I mean. But now since they didn't held it
down a little bit and what have you, they don't

(57:16):
give them no credit now that they're looking like they're
in the bottom of the dumbs. Myself, they broke the record,
they got the thing, and they didn't even wait that year. Yeah, yeah,
I said that, said, let me make my point. I said,
me win it that year. But they came back the
next ship to get that tame. And when it's all
sitting doing it was a long time coming for us,
and when we finally got it, we held it down
for a minute. But hold on, Mike, they had they

(57:37):
had a run for the last five years of the decade.
But the Patriots made the playoffs all ten years and
just as many Super Bowls. And how in the world
I give you the Warriors of the NBA's Team of
the decade, How in the world can you pick them
over the Patriots? Oh? I can't because I'm from Oakland California.

(57:57):
We waited a long time for it to happen, and
we got treat them things out of five. You see,
you bias, that's how you picked them. It shakes the
Laker fans. They ain't been there six years. We ain't
trying to hear it. Man, why here this year? My man? Hey,
thanks about Felicia and Michigan Chris. She's on the yard
couple of Fox Sports rated Felicia. Hi, I'm just gonna

(58:20):
say the Warriors, Felicia. Okay, I'm gonna say the Warriors. Okay,
I'm gonna put it like this. Josh McDaniels joined the
Patriots in two thousand and one. They went on a run.
Two thousand and seven, five Gate happened. Okay, After two
thousand and seven they were nils. They were none, no
more super Bowls after that. Josh McDaniels reappeared in twenty twelve.

(58:42):
They go on a run to win a Super Bowl.
In twenty fourteen, commonality, Josh McDaniels five Gates and then
they did he have to playgate in twenty fourteen, twenty fifteen,
Josh mcdanis is there. They did not announce that he
came back Warriors have been clean cut, get people around.
If you hear about like the young young man just said,

(59:04):
Steph Curry, h the team does a lot, not only
for the French Hise, but for Oakland in general. Um,
they're good people and everything else. Wait a minute, Felicia,
you left one thing out. They put Kevin Durant out
with a bad will, trying to win another championship. They
weren't looking out for kd. You want to get that started.
And then okay, let's go back Kevin Durant everything else. Okay,

(59:27):
they had a seventy had a seventy three and nine run.
But the season that Kevin before the season before Kevin
Durant came out, they pucked Kevin Durant. Of course they
were a better team. Um. They they were up by
I'm sorry when he was with U Oklahoma, Oklahoma they
were up by three. Okay, and then next thing you know, uh,

(59:49):
they came back, Orris came back out themselves together, came
back one went to the seven games. Here's here's the thing, Felicia.
They had half a decade. They were of it for
the first half of they were half based. Cake wasn't
even all the way cluer stuff. She made some decent
points and a couple of people made some good points. Look,
they did change the game, unlike the Patriots. I'll give

(01:00:12):
him that, but outside of that, it's gotta be New England.
I'm sorry, all right. Coatino Mobley is one of the
brightest minds in basketball, and he joins his next but first,
be sure to catch live editions of The Odd Couple
with Chris Broussard and Rob Parker weekdays at seven pm
Eastern four pm Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the

(01:00:34):
iHeartRadio app. He's a former NBA veteran, a great basketball mind.
He's an FS one NBA an. Listen you'll hear him
here on Fox Sports Radio as the NBA season picks up.
It's our man, Catino Mobley. What's UPO yo yo, listen, listen,
no way now you already know what's up? Brother? Be holiday. Yeah,

(01:01:01):
I miss you guys. Man. How y'all doing? We are great?
We are great? All right. Look, let's start with your
one of your former teams of Houston Rockets. I love
with James Harden Like, he's fascinating to watch. I give
him all the credit in the world individually, for what
he's doing thirty eight thirty nine points a game, But
I don't number one, think you can win that way.

(01:01:24):
And I also think as good as he is, it
has to be tough to play with him when he's
got that type of usage rate. What's your take on
that whole thing? Well, I'm a fan of James, um,
you know, and then you're spot on right, like I always.
You know, a lot of what you say is very logical,

(01:01:45):
very rational, and uh, you know, I don't think anybody
who scored win the scoring titles at thirty six, thirty seven,
thirty eight, thirty ninety points, you know, are going to
lead their team to the championship. Thirty two and a
half points is the highest. That's Michael Jordan, right, And
you know he had a Scottie Pippin, one of the
best all around players ever. So you know, I mean,

(01:02:06):
you know, what what James is doing is remarkable, But
at the same time, it's still basketball to me is
more of a rhythm sport. So if you don't get
the ball, I don't care if you're Joe Schmoe on
the team. If you don't get the ball in a
consistent basis throughout the floor of the game. You know,
the rhythm in your mind is going. So James is
actually the only one with to put rhythm during the

(01:02:26):
course of the game. And you got to think about
it this too. Just because you're shooting fourteen free throws
a game, the game stopping, the only person during that
game that is in rhythm is you at the free
throw line. Everybody else fourteen find this stinging at the
free throw line, waiting to touch the ball themselves. Continue O, no, no, no,
go ahead. No. I was gonna ask you. Lakers are

(01:02:48):
losing right now in Indiana, but what an incredible start
when you consider how many pieces parts were changed in
the offseason and you know, trying to figure it all out.
I knew they would be good, but I'm stunned at
the start. How stunned are you at what they've been
able to do? I'm listen, you know me. I'm not

(01:03:09):
stunned at all. You stunned. You're right because last year,
because the clip. You're right because last year I told
you they weren't gonna make the playoffs on national television
and you pooh pooed me, You pooh pooed me, Coatino,
and you bet me chicken wings and I'm still waiting
for my wings. And I was right. You looked at
me like I was crazy, like I had three heads. Hey, y'all, listen, listen, listen.

(01:03:33):
You see all this animation you're doing that still don't
get the fact that Brian James got hurt. If you
wouldn't have got it. Stop. They wasn't hurt when they
lost last year to the Memphis Grizzlies, in the Atlanta
Hawks and all those bad games they lost. Stop using
that as a crutch. Okay, all right, all right, but
you you surprised, you excited about what they're doing right now.

(01:03:56):
They're still not gonna win the championship. You They're not
gonna win the chat TB last year. I look at you,
and what I say, Boy? You something else? You know
that Contino mobil joining the Eye couple? It sounds continue. Look,
I picked the Lakers ropick the Clippers to win it all,
and I give the Clippers a lot of credit, they
are tough. But it sounds like you are going with

(01:04:16):
the Lakers as well. First of all, is that true?
And secondly, if so, why do you think they are
better than the Clippers? A truthfully I don't think they're
better than the Clippers. Um. I think the Clippers actually
have more than the Lakers. The Lakers are big. Um.
So listen, God, you biddn't didn't have a se Lebron

(01:04:37):
you know, I'm I'm wearing my bet on Lebron James
all day long. But you still have three closes with
the Clippers and a really you know, a spitefully defense
with the Clippers. So I mean, I'm gonna I'm gonna
nod my head towards the Clippers a little bit. So
you're picking the Clippers to win win the West. Yeah,
I'm picking the Clippers to win the West. But again,

(01:04:58):
you still can't count on Lebron, Gene. That's gonna be
a nice battle. Hopefully it's it's a Hallway series, right. Yeah.
I still like the Clippers. I think they'll be where Defensively,
I love that team. And you know, it's not how
you start, continuo you notice, is how you finish. So
we'll see what happens. My question is this, because I
think the key to that series, let's assume they meet

(01:05:21):
in the Western Conference finals, will be Anthony Davis. Because
as good as perimeter defenders, as the Clippers have Lebron's
gonna do his thing. Lebron's gonna give you his twenty seven,
ten and eight or whatever. It's something around there. The key.
I don't think the Clippers don't have somebody to match
up with a A D. Harold's a little small Zoobos,

(01:05:41):
you know, is it mobile enough? My question though, is
does a D have the dog in him to go
out there and dominate that series. I mean, that's a
that's a great that's a great question. But at the
end of the day, if you got Lebron James, who's
I think it's the best ever as far as complete
basketball will complete basketball player ever to me. That's just

(01:06:05):
my opinion, right, Okay, So you have Kawhi Leonard, and
if Kawhi leon is healthy, and then you have Paul
George and Paul George healthy, and you have Lou Williams
and Lou Williams healthy, you gotta deal with them, guys.
That's three closures right there. Right. So, I haven't seen
a D clothes out of series shit that's yet to
be seen, But from anybody playing a full season is

(01:06:27):
yet to be seen. So at the end of the day, truthfully,
seven years you know, like, I'm gonna go with guys
that I know who's a two time finals MVP and
Kawhi Leonard and a really really good closer and Paul
George as well as Blue Williams. I mean, I'm liking
that team. And they got a Hall, and they got

(01:06:47):
a coach who's won a championship and future Hall of Famer,
and they got a lot of other things. Patrick Beverley,
you would they got a great That's are two incredible teams.
But I but I continuo, we finally agree on something
that you'd rather take a team that's with proving guys

(01:07:07):
who have done it, even though at some point maybe
proving guys. I'm telling my Anthony Davis, is not he
the other big part? You just said that he's the
missing He's the piece that's going to determine it. Becautino,
let me ask you this. Let's go to an ex Laker,
Linzo Ball. Yeah, we've been asking about last year. He's
been bitched for a guy Kendrick Williams that people haven't

(01:07:29):
even heard of. I think he was on urcle at
one point, I don't even know who that was. What
is your what is your feeling about Linzo. Is he
officially gonna be a bust and he's just you know,
he's not gonna be this start that some people thought,
or what do you think is going on with him? Okay,
so you know my major in college psychology communications. I

(01:07:50):
sit there and I think of him. I look at him.
It's not that he's not talented. It's not that he
can't play an NBA and be at it and play
at a high level. I think it's more off the
court issue that's happening with him and now she Because
in basketball, everything's momentum, it's rhythm. So in basketball, if
I if I'm struggling in the basketball game, or just
give you this some knowledge, I'm struggling in the basketball

(01:08:12):
and I'm over for six, oh for seven, I need
a layup or I need to get to the freatro
line so I can get these jitters out of me.
So the same thing happens throughout life. So if it's
whether it's his father, whether or it's his baby mom,
whether it's just just a situation of leaving La and
the embarrassment of walking around, but up, I don't I
have no clue, but it just seems to me that
it's not basketball related. But while he's on the court,

(01:08:33):
he's not playing with the love that I used to
see him play with, or the efficiency or the urgency
that I used to see him play with. So, I,
you know, just being a basketball player myself and going
through different situations off the court. When I come on
the court, sometimes not a lot of the times, it
affects you as an individual. Just like Kobe Bryant when

(01:08:55):
he had the little situation with the people in Colorado,
get right, he focused himself. He lasered in and focused
and said, you know what, I was embarrassed off the court,
but I'm gonna make sure why I'm playing. I'm not
embarrassed on the court. A lot of guys they go
through situations and they still play, but they don't play
to their full capability because there's so much worry off

(01:09:17):
the court. And I think personally, and I can be wrong,
but I think personally there's some things that's going on
that he's holding and now that he keeps playing different
games and having bad games, now he's questioning or the
organization or the culture, whoever. It's questioning his effort, his heart,
his talent, his This is that I don't think he's
that because he can play. I just think it's some

(01:09:39):
off the court that's bothered him, that has that has
grew in spiral to a point now where people think
he's a bust, if that makes sense now because we
thinking he's going to New Orleans. He has a fresh start,
he's out of the bright lights all that he was,
his opportunity and it has not been pretty. So thanks continuing,
continuing great stuff the man and will get you on,

(01:10:00):
you know again as the season goes on. But happy holidays,
as Merry Christmas to you and yours. A man still
on me wings. I want them, I got you sent
some here, a bunch here we'll eat them. Pepper and
the gallic parmajan both all flash garlic paper, some rare stresses.

(01:10:22):
Oh yeah, we glue. Hi my man, Thank you? All right, brother.
You can make a case that this NFC team is
the worst run organization in all of sports. And I
covered it for twenty years. I was at all the games.

(01:11:26):
Parker wants to get something off of his chest. I'm
gonna say this, Chris Boussard, for all Lions fans all
over Detroit they listen to us on wdfn AM eleven thirty.
This is for my two close buddies who are the
biggest Lions fans in the world, John and Chaunty. They

(01:11:48):
always they're just all about the Lions, and they should
be distraught over Martha Ford deciding to keep Matt Patricia
and Bob Quinn. Mat Patrician to coaching Bob Quinn that
she um they have some nerve that organization, that franchise.
For people who don't know Chris Boussard, the Lions are

(01:12:14):
at the bottom of the food chain in professional sports.
They have one playoff win since nineteen fifty seven? Do
you hear me? Nineteen fifty seven? In a league that
is built on parody? Do you remember that the New
Orleans Saints were called the Aints? They won a Super Bowl?

(01:12:37):
Do you remember the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as an expansion team?
They would got awful, Chris. They had those quem sickle uniforms.
They want a championship. Do you know that the uh originally? No,
they did. The Browns won one UH in Baltimore when
they moved. But what I'm talking about that would be
the Ravens. No. But I'm saying that with the Browns franchise,

(01:12:59):
and then even these Cardinals who moved from Saint Louis
to Arizona. They went to the Super Bowl and were
two minutes away from winning it before Santonio Holmes right
made that great catching the ends on them to beat them.
But my point is the team that hasn't been to
the Super Bowl hasn't sniffed it is the Detroit Lions

(01:13:21):
and people just here's the thing. They fired Jim Carwell,
Chris who went to the playoffs two out of three years.
And you know what, Bob Quinn had the nerve to
stand up and say when they fired them, ninety seven
wasn't good enough, that they had beaten bad teams and
it wasn't good enough. And now Matt Patricia comes, they
haven't made the playoffs and I don't want to hear

(01:13:43):
these actually won nine games in two two years. Right.
Here's first of all, let me add to your your
spiel what you said about them only having one playoff
victory and with since nineteen this is the franchise that
had one of the greatest receivers of all time, Calvin Johnson,
the greatest running backs and Barry Sanders in Dominican sue

(01:14:07):
at one point. I mean, so they've had good players.
I know it's more than one individual, but I'm just saying,
don't bad because it's not true. And here's the most indicting,
the biggest indictment of the Lions in this case in
terms of keeping Matt Patricia is what you said that
they fired Jim Carwell and said it wasn't good enough.

(01:14:29):
Go look at his record, Chris. Jim Carwell made the
playoffs two out of four years in Detroit for the Lions.
That's great, that's really it's like their best coach ever,
I ain't really And when they put them out they
made it all winning seasons in forty four years and
two playoff appearances. Now that's the indictment that you got

(01:14:51):
rid of a guy who was having success. I understand
other like in a vacuum. I understand keeping Matt and
Patricia just because I mean, obviously they've been they took
a step backwards this year and they haven't been good
in his watch. But I get if you want some longevity.

(01:15:12):
What makes it unfathomable is that you fired Jim Cardwell
and you said ninety seven wasn't good enough exactly. So
now now you've got nine wins in two years and
that's the right and you're keeping That makes you wonder.
I just I'm gonna throw it out there. I'm not
saying it's the case. It just makes you wonder if
race was a factor. I'll tell you this right now,

(01:15:34):
if Jim Cardwell, if the roles were reversed and Jim
Carwell had these last two seasons, you think he would
be back for a third year. I do not believe that, Chris,
I really don't, and I just don't the idea that
the Lions can continue to do this. And it makes
no sense. This is why you got yourself. How come
this so bad? How come they haven't made a super Bowl?

(01:15:55):
How come they haven't won a playoff game? That the
last playoff win was nineteen ninety one against the Cowboys.
I was watching the game. You know what John Madden said, Chris,
You're watching the two teams of the nineties, the Lions
and the Cowboys. You know, the Lions beat Troy Aikman,
Emmitt Smith, Michael Irvin. They beat that team and they

(01:16:20):
went on to win three of the next four super Bowls.
And the Lions they've even got to the super Bowl,
but they actually beat the Cowboys the year before. It's
a mess and they keep holding on the same thing.
Stat Padford stop and he can't beat any good team.
I don't care what numbers he puts up. The Lions, Detroit,

(01:16:41):
you smell lot that's your football team. They stink. They
stink to the high heavens, and the Ford should be
ashamed of themselves. Wow, you are rolled up. I covered
that team for over twenty goodness. All right, I've heard
you bring the heat like that in a long time.

a Fox NFL analyst. So you definitely want to check
that out. But we will stick with the NFL and

(01:17:45):
we start off the show, and it's worth going back
to celebrating the great Drew Brees. Last night, of course,
he passed Peyton Manning on the all time list with
most touchdowns thrown. Now he has congratulations, no doubt, and
he's already passed man He remember in most yards thrown

(01:18:05):
for in an NFL career that's over seventy six thousand.
But here's the sound of last night's victory t D
first and goal from the five Breese under center, I
formation fixed the handoff, what's the throw? Quite open? Touchdown?
Rash still nineteen years, two hundred and seventy three games,

(01:18:29):
over seventy six thousand yards and now five hundred and
forty touchdowns. Drew Brees take up out. We both robbed
talked about how obviously Drew Brees is I mean easy
Hall of famers, Oh, no, doubt about it, right, I
didn't even initial and in all time great The question

(01:18:49):
is where amongst the all time greats? And I do think,
but he doesn't. Most don't have him in the top five. No,
I wouldn't have him in the top five, maybe top ten,
in probably toward the bottom of the top ten. But
you you're overlooking a lot of great quarterbacks if you
put Drew Brees in the top ten. And that's the question,

(01:19:09):
like why isn't he recognized like a Tom Brady is.
Obviously Brady's got six Super Bowls, but Peyton Manny has two,
Aaron Rodgers has one, Dan Marino has none, and he
would be on that list, probably higher right by most
of the past two right, last two years. Remember, yeah,

(01:19:30):
he used to get embarrassed right, Broncoles right and Brett
farevass one right and at all time as well, all
time interception king yep, yep. So why why do you
think people as great as Drew Brees is and as
much love as he gets, he's not kind of viewed
as in that group. I think part of it and
I know it's not all the way fair because it's

(01:19:51):
a team game, but you know how we look at stuff.
He's missed the playoffs more times than he's made in right,
nine times out of nine teen seasons he's made it. Okay,
So that that's one part where you go because we
talk about these great players and great quarterbacks Chris, and
normally when you have one of those guys, I don't
care what. You don't have a running game, You're defense

(01:20:13):
is good, You're still gonna have a chance to make
it for the most part, you're in the hunt. And
we saw that and I'm not we've seen that in
Green Bay. Yeah, right, when they didn't have a defense,
they were still win individuals and still making a playoffs, right,
and you would say, man, they're dangerous if they if
they if Aaron Rodgers plays well well, Breeze had a
five year stretch where four of those years they win
seven to nine and no playoffs. Right. So that's why

(01:20:38):
I think a lot of people look at him as
great obviously, but not quite not that guy that no
matter what you have or don't have, he's carrying you
and it all sold you on his back. The longevity,
like he's palled up a lot of numbers. He played
a long time, nineteen years a long time in the NFL.
So some of that is just pure Chris. If you're

(01:20:58):
just having a good year and you play that many years,
you're going to pile up those numbers. So that that
part of that is also that those numbers aren't nearly
as impressive when you were. If you were to take
his touchdowns and Rob Gell, how many is it five
forty one to five forty divided by nineteen seasons? What

(01:21:19):
is that a year? Do you know what I mean?
When you start to Yeah, but I think he's more
than a compiler. No, but nineteen years is a long
time though, But the lately he has been I bet
you Mario Marino played sixteen years. I bet your Dan
Marino played fourteen years. Count that up, rob, But you
see that's average of twenty eight touchdowns a year. That's

(01:21:40):
not that impressive. Look at you. I'm not trying to
rip it. You are ripping you. I'm not ripping you
just said that's not that impressive. What else do you?
Eli Manning average more than twenty eight touchdowns? We're not
even rob g can you do that? Give me? Give me?
I bet you ELI average more than twenty eight touchdowns
a year? Are you serious? Yes? You think Eli man
he averaged more touchdowns a year than Drew Bridge year?

(01:22:03):
Off your your mind? You are out of your mind,
Rod Parker, let's beat some Jordan's on that. No, we're
not so thank you, I know, but what's the number
we want? The third year? We just told about per year?
What did the ELI have and how many kids? Look?
Drew Brees led the NFL and touchdowns four times. He

(01:22:25):
led the NFL in yards thrown. Forget the yards been
talking about touchdowns twenty eight NFL and completion percentage twenty eighth.
South average to the NFL in yards per game six times.
What are you talking about Rob No, I'm talking the
NFL and anything but interception. No, he also led the

(01:22:46):
Eli had twenty nine and he has twenty eight. Is
that what you told me? Twenty three to twenty eight.
That ain't that big of a difference. It's five touchdowns difference.
It ain't that big. We just stop it stop. I
still think that I would rather take Eli Manning's career
over Drew Brees because of the Super Bowls, because of

(01:23:09):
the big moments that Eli was able to do. He
didn't just he wasn't the game manager. He didn't hitch
his wagon to UH to all time great defense. It
wasn't like that they had a great defense. No, but
he was the MVP. The defense didn't win anything. The
defense held one of the most prolific arts. He still

(01:23:29):
had this time to what seven to fourteen points? He
still had to score though I'm not saying he wasn't
a factor. But he did it with a bunch of chumps.
Did they did they? Did? They score the first four
d and they held it. No, he had to score
in the last two minutes and both of those Super
Bowls to be able to win. Look, I don't want

(01:23:49):
to even go down this road again, because it's just ridiculous.
No way you can take Eli Manning's career over Drew.
You should see the people on it. They're like, finally
somebody speaking to stop it. Maybe one person if that
a cousin of yours who's trying to do I mean,
because who else would agree with that? That's madness. I'm

(01:24:12):
not even sure if the Manning family would agree with that.
Eli might not agree with you. But anyway, one of
the quarterbacks we mentioned that there's guys who haven't won
as many Super Bowls who are ranked ahead or at
least viewed as being better than Drew Brees. One of
them is Aaron Rodgers. And Aaron Rodgers of course having

(01:24:37):
a great season as far as the wins. The Packers
are eleven and three, they're going to make the playoffs,
and you know they got a shot. I mean I don't.
Most people don't have them coming out of the NFC.
You do, But Rob, I gotta ask you this, and
and we've brought it up periodically before Aaron Rodgers is

(01:25:00):
and remember last year we actually had one of our
drops is Aaron Rodgers did not have a Pro Bowl
season last year. And Rob Aaron Rodgers has not been
the driving force on this team. He has not been
the Aaron Rodgers that we all have come to know
and love, the one that many people say is the

(01:25:23):
greatest passer of the football they've ever seen. Let me
give you a few numbers. Since you like numbers so much.
Aaron Rodgers has not thrown for as many as two
hundred and fifty yards in the last six games. The
last six games. Three of those six games he's been

(01:25:44):
under two hundred yards, and in three of those six
games he has had well, let's see, four of the
six he's had one touchdown. One of the six he
had zero touchdowns, and then against the hapless Giants he
had four. Are you I'm not I'm not. Look, I'm

(01:26:05):
not trying to dis Aaron Rodgers. I'm just saying this
is not the guy that we all have come to
know and love. As I said, yeah, but mom, are
you concerned? I'm not concerned at all. It's a new
offense that they're trying to incorporate. Everybody ripped on Aaron
Rodgers all year. If you told me that him throwing

(01:26:25):
him all years, all off season, they ripped on him
about he was uncoachable. He improvised too much. He's trying
to follow the script and go with this new coach
they got to run. It's a script calling for one
hundred and ninety yards. Dang, which is what he's at. No,
it's not. It is throwing it a lot. No, he ain't.
Though he's not throwing heels doing thirty sometimes a game.

(01:26:46):
They he's never had a running back who's had done
how many touchdown does does? Uh? Jes Aaron Jones? How
they've never had that? That's where rob that's touchdown throwing
the foot. He's not throwing it at No, he's not.
He's three through. He was sixteen for thirty three last week.
That's the thirty three he's not. He used to throwing
forty five. Still, you should be able to get more

(01:27:08):
than two hundred and three yards and thirty three times.
But he has a running back now he could dump
off to. Aaron Jones has seventeen touchdowns? Are you kidding me?
Where do you think that total came from? Those are
the touchdowns that used to be Aaron Rodgers because he
had to throw the ball in the end zone. This
guy can get into the end zone. That's where the

(01:27:31):
numbers are Chris, it's elementary about the yard. If you
didn't have that about the yard, now, if you didn't
have that that running back guy, it would be totally different.
And then I would look into No, they're not. That's
not the same Aaron Rodgers and the and the way
that they used to run, uh, the offense. And he
was criticized, you that criticized about about trying to what

(01:27:55):
you call it, to try to listen to the new
coach and work it in and and I follow the
script and not be uh the improviser and all that,
and then all they doing is winning games. And his
numbers could be better, There's no doubt about it. What
does he got twenty six and two touchdowns? I mean,
they could be better. You should have ten more touchdowns.

(01:28:17):
I'll give you that. But i'le si, I bet you
if you check and see, he's never ever ever had
a guy with seventeen And he's not throwing it quite
as much as he has in the past, but they're
still throwing it enough for him to put up more
yardage and touchdowns. And I'm but I'm wondering this. Do

(01:28:43):
you are you concerned? No? I saw him put up
five touchdowns, he passed for five, ran for one. Nobody
had done. That doesn't matter more oak Raiders. That just
kills me. It doesn't kill every time you do the
power ranking. It matters who you beat, right, and they
beat props all over, beating Robs. Sorry, Oakland Raiders. Raiders

(01:29:05):
were one game of the playoffs before Lebron got hurt.
Don't you remember that the Raiders were one game out
of the playoffs before Lebron got rob That's what you
used to use. That was your excuse the Raiders. Now
you're not the Raiders. You know what I'm talking about.
You always excuse So okay, so you're not worried about
not at all. He's not. They won eleven games. And

(01:29:27):
if they let Laron Rodgers be Aaron Rodgers, let me
tell you something, you better watch out. Are they holding
him back? I don't know. That's a good question. It's
a good question. I don't know, Chris, But I'll tell
you this. If they've given an opportunity and they've had
to win some ugly and tight games, but they won them,
and they have had a tough schedule, They've beating some
good teams. They beat the Bears in their own division. Remember,

(01:29:49):
Bears made the playoffs a year ago. They've won some
good games if you look at their schedules. So I'm
I like where there where the Packers are. Everybody could
talk about all the other teams they do. Ever, we're
running back and they have a defense Chris that can
make plays. I'm not saying the greatest defense are gonna
shut you out, but they can't get the ball back
in in uh tough situations. I've seen them get the

(01:30:12):
football back and win games. All Right, you're a believer.
Of course you're biased because you picked them. I guess
you still get picked them for the playoffs. You still
got the charge. You're still talking about the charge. Keep
pick Cleveland, brow that was that was you using your hotel.
The Cleveland brand ain't gonna making you the super Bowl.

(01:30:33):
Look at the Cleveland the land out for the land.
They would have lamb lamb forget about the land. All right,
you're turning away. In eight seven seven ninety nine, did
you hear that laugh by Kawa? That was good stuff?
Eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox is Aaron Ridgers

(01:30:54):
getting the pass for his mediocre play these past two
months we'll continue to go next. It's yeah a couple
of Fox Sports Radio. Yes, sir, brownies juice. Fox Sports
Radio has the best sports talk lineup in the nation.
Catch all of our shows at foxsports Radio dot com
and within the iHeart Radio app search f SR to

(01:31:15):
listen live. The LA Lakers down one oh two to
one oh four to the Indiana Pacers school, did you
just give always a high score? First? One oh four,
one oho two? Chris? Come on now, yeah, people understood
what I was saying. They're down one two to one
oh four and the corn Fields is then how y'all
give the scored over it? I know y'all did it

(01:31:37):
differently at Southern Tech Institute of Agriculture in Connecticut or whatever.
Eleven point seven seconds left. And remember, in twenty minutes
fifteen minutes you want to start, you'll be able to
call in because it is a trash talking Tuesday. That's right.

(01:31:57):
You can trash anyone or anything in the world of sports.
So get your takes ready. You might even receive an
odd couple hat courtesy of New Era nob the calls
on this Aaron Rodgers, are you concerned about his mediocre
play of late let's start with Justin in Virginia. Justin,
you're on with the Eye Coverle Justin. All right, let's

(01:32:20):
go to the next one. JT and Houston. You're on
the Odd Couple of Fox Sports Radio. Yes, Aaron Rodgers,
he's gonna be just fine, Rob Parker, I'm with you today.
Aaron Rodgers. He's always carrying the team. And it's it's
okay form to be under the radar right now. I mean,
everybody knows what he's capable of doing, and nobody's gonna
just say, oh, well, he can't do it because he's mediocre.

(01:32:42):
This year, everyone else is pulling their part to help
the team get better and to get to the ultimate goal.
So let Aaron Rodgers do what he do. Let everybody
else do their job. Everybody else get paid just like
you do too. All right, JT. That's a levelhead of
opinion right there. Yea. Let's go to Scott in Milwaukee. Scott,
you're on with the Eye Couple. Hey, how you guys doing.

(01:33:03):
First time caller, big fan, Thank you, Scott, appreciate you.
First thing, early trash talking is gonna go to route
just for the fact of Eli Manning better than Breeze, Hey,
you better get on the line. I want to hear
your take on that. But what do you what do
you got on Roger's Honestly, in these last couple of years,
you could actually pretty much compare to Rodgers and Breeze.

(01:33:27):
They both got a top tier running back in Kamara
and Jones and had caused them to change the game
so they're not having to lean on the quarterback throwing
the ball so much. So some of that percentage is
because you've seen Breeze win a game with only one
hundred and eighty nine yards passing. You know it's about
the team and you know you can mix it up now.
It also doesn't help that Rogers has got undrafted wide

(01:33:49):
receivers that aren't getting yards after the catch like his
previous wide receivers of the past have been able to do.
There's no doubt about that. He doesn't have the receiving
cord and and uh, what's his name to Brady doesn't
have to receive. Would you stop? We're not talking about
Brady's saying be consistent, Christ in New York. That's absolutely
all the brothers singing Christ in New York. You're on

(01:34:10):
the odd couple of Fox Sports Radio. What you got Chris, Hey, guys,
it to be on with you, first time call her.
Thank you. A matter of fact, I lived down the
block from Van Buren, so it's good to see you
representing Queens the way you do. Are you serious? You're
on two n two hundred and thirty Second Street and
Hillside having the street two thirty thirsty. Wow, that's awesome, Joe.

(01:34:32):
I just wanted to talk about how and no, no
other sports shows are talking about this. How the Green
Bay receivers are actually a bitchmore. You have DeVante Adams,
king of the receivers, who is the only one drafted
before the fifth round. I'm sorry, I need you to
name I need you to name the wide receiver too.
On the fact that can you do that for me?
Say off that? J Allison Mark que You can ask nobody.

(01:34:54):
What's it matter? Can you name the ones on the
New England Patriots running back excuses? That's all I know?
They ain't this fact. Christian can't get your super Bowl.
You can't fact. And I'm not this in Aaron Rodgers.
I'm just presenting the question. That's all right? Are you
worried about the mediocrity. Thanks for the support, Queens in

(01:35:16):
the House. We appreciate the call. Ben in Indiana, you're
on the odd couple Fox Sports Radio. What you got Ben,
Aaron Rodgers, it's not that they're a free pass because
he has Jimmy Graham as if I pay Adams and
Aaron Jones probably the best trio when it comes to everything.
But that his defense he pick up. Aaron Rodgers won't

(01:35:38):
be playing football for much longer, as Kyle Hurt said, Wow,
all right, you say he's not gonna be playing much longer. Wow,
that's what cal Hurt said. All right, we'll see if
they get to the super Bowl. Thanks Joseph for the call,
appreciate it. Wow, I'll try to see if you respond
to that. So, uh look, I'm not saying Aaron Rodgers

(01:36:01):
is done or anything like that. All I'm saying is
last year he wasn't Rogers esque. This year he hasn't
been Rodgers esque. Now if they win the Super Bowl,
great because Brady years that he you know, or games
Brady won a Super Bowl lest you without throwing a touchdown? Right,

(01:36:22):
but do you give me I'm just saying, so if
Rogers does it, this year. If Rogers wins the super
Bowl without mediocre, I don't want to hear from you
ever again. Trying to be little Tim Bradys Rogers cranks
up in the postseason, plays three games and has twelve
touchdowns in the three games, and just providers does what

(01:36:45):
he does and and they win. You would think I'd
be fantastic. Okay, you'd have to give him problems. No,
you would because the only blemish and it's you know,
blemish shot. You know, he's obviously an all time great,
but only blemish really on Aaron Rodgers records, he's only
been to one Super Bowl. Yeah no, he has to
get to another. A couple. I think he's gonna have

(01:37:05):
a considered a second Yeah no, no, no, I took
We talked about this. He would have to do what
Brady did his second part, because Brady won the three
and then it was a drought. I told you, I've
been saying that it was a ten year drought and
then all of a sudden quarterback. But it was a
ten year drought, a ten year drought of not winning it. Yeah,
drot of being it's about winning Rogers short menu, tell

(01:37:31):
you that, all right, go ahead, let's do it. Let's
go to Scott in Richmond, Virginia. Scott, you're on with
Chris and Robb? Are you doing Chris? Rob How are you? Hey?
Good man? Hey? Look and Roger great quarterback, greatest, one
of the greatest of all time. Stop stop, please, let's
stop giving this guy all the credit is saying it. Look,

(01:37:53):
you don't need to have he has all these weapons.
That don't have all these weapons? Are these guys can't
catch the ball? And he doesn't have this that Look
at Russell Wilson. What has he had? Has even had
a number one receiver in his entire career, thank you ever.
They had the legion, the boom. He didn't even have
to do anything. But man, it's the game. Stop, no, okay,

(01:38:14):
and give it to Beachmode, one of the best running
backs in the game. Where are you coming from in Richmond,
Virginia with this nonsense? Don't say he didn't have anything?
Are you kidding me? Hey, bro, I'm gonna candle this.
I'm gonna could with this right all right, So let's
look at this. It's a start out there. You can
check it on Google. Right for the four quarterbacks in

(01:38:37):
their first eight years, had the most testdout passes ever thrown,
Peyton Manning, Damn Marino, Russell Wilson and Brett Farve. Where's
an Rogers there? No, I'm talking about the guy. And
this guy is on the team on his first years.
It's a running mentality and his first four years. Every

(01:39:00):
Rodgers didn't play his first three years. Dude, what are
you talking about? Eron Rodgers was on the benches first
three years? Yes, is a Rodgers played? All right? I
don't believed in heat you got you got ribs, panties
in a bunch they are and it's not a pretty
size rob Gee. Can you pull them out? On that note?

(01:39:22):
I think I had my plenties or in a bus.
All right, Look, because I'm about get ready, because it
is a trash talking Tuesday ten minutes. Start calling in now.
You can have your take. You can trash anyone or
anything in the world of sports. Whoever's take we like
the most. You could You will earn a an odd

(01:39:42):
couple baseball half courtesy of new Eras or get your
calls and your takes ready. But the football conversation will
continue with Fox NFL analysts LaVar Arrington. He joins us next,
but first, be sure to catch live editions of The
Odd Couple with Chris Broussard and Rob Parker weekdays at
seven pm Eastern four pm Pacific on Fox Sports Radio

(01:40:04):
and the iHeartRadio app. Former Pro Bowl linebacker, you can
catch him here on Fox Sports as an NFL analyst,
LaVar Arrington joins the show. Leavar, what's up, Chris? How
are you doing? Doing great? Brother? We're doing great. Look,
we were just talking about Aaron Rodgers last six games.

(01:40:25):
He's averaged about one hundred and ninety yards passing. Take
away the game against the Giants, No, we're not checking
away that game, and in five of his last six
games he's had four touchdowns. So I'm just wondering, are
you do you think this could be an issue? Are
you concerned that Rogers hasn't been the Aaron Rodgers we

(01:40:45):
all know and love? Are you You're not worried at
all about this? In the postseason for the Packers, Okay,
I was wondering where you were going out? Okay, so
he said postseason. I think it's been a concern all year,
all season, and I think he's shown glimpses of what
he could possibly do in the postseason and what he
could get done. But if you're a Packers fan, you

(01:41:10):
have to be concerned with probably the lack of weapons
he has passing game. They have the possibility to be
able to to run the ball effectively enough to to
make a move. They got enough defense. Question is will
they play to the team strength or will they go

(01:41:33):
with trying to see if a rod can win the games,
regardless of what may be a different approach that could
lead to better results. You think it's more the approach
or Rodgers. It's going to probably have to be both.
Aaron Rodgers is going to have to buy into if

(01:41:56):
they're going to have a legitimate Super Bowl run, it's
gonna have to be on the backs of the defense,
and Aaron Rodgers may have to be a game manager
if the Packers are going to be a legitimate threat.
Let's talk about the Detroit Lions. Today they announced that, uh,

(01:42:18):
they're gonna bring back Matt Patricia Bob Quinn for the
twenty twenty year. Here's a franchise that's won one playoff
game since nineteen fifty seven. This league is supposed to
be about parody, and they've had some big stars. We've
talked about it. Barry Sanders quit on the Lions, Calvin

(01:42:40):
john Calvin Johnson quit on the Lions. Uh and Dominkin
Sue bolted from the team in free agency. Didn't want
to be there. What how do you fix this if
they keep doing the same old thing, which is making
the ownership, making bad hires and continuing with the same
people who failed. They couldn't wait to Jim Calwell out

(01:43:01):
of Detroit, who made the playoffs two of them, two
out of the last three years. That's a fine yes,
you know, Rob, It's interesting you say that when I'm
asking questions about when I hear parody in the National
Football League, that's a joke. There is no real parody. Well,
I'll say that the parody is the franchises and the teams.

(01:43:24):
The franchises there are, there's parody, right like they might
have a down year, but then they're back, you know.
But when you're talking about teams like the Detroit Lions,
that's a team. It's not a franchise, all right. You
talk about like Cleveland, it's a it's a team that
was on the cusp of becoming a franchise. But nonetheless

(01:43:46):
it's still a team, right. The team has some some
real historical value to it with the Browns, but nonetheless
there's still a team. And you get art model said, look,
I can't turn it into a franchise, so I'm gonna
take my ball and I'm gonna go somewhere else where
I can. Kind of weird, right, you take the ball,
you go else You got, you know, your super Bowl later,

(01:44:08):
you know, you got Hall of Famers. I don't know,
but when you look at the league and you look
at teams like the Detroit Lines, like the Cleveland Browns,
even the Cincinnati Bengals and other teams, and then you
look at teams like the Patriots or the Steelers or
the you know where we want to go? Uh, Kansas

(01:44:32):
City is one of those fringe teams, like you want
them to be a franchise, but they still can't seem
to turn the corner into becoming a franchise team. So
I don't know, but you look at the traditional powers,
look at who wins the super Bowl, and that tells
you what you need to know. It's generally the same teams.

(01:44:53):
Excuse me, it's the same franchises winning the Super Bowl
pretty much on it every year, right, I mean, there's
not very very opting. You see a team, um, you know,
get in and win the Super Bowl. So I don't
think there really is true parody. And again I get
your point, and it's well taken. I'm just saying for

(01:45:15):
an NFL team to have one playoff win, seriously since
nineteen fifty seven, and the one win was back in
nineteen ninety one over the Cowboys before their dynasty, and
the Lions can't put together a playoff win, I find
that to be there's something wrong with ownership. Well, it's
kind of funny that you say that and lead or

(01:45:36):
in off of what the last word that you said,
because when you guys brought me into the show, y'all
said all pro I'd much rather be referenced as an
all American. I don't even want to remember my time
in the NFL based off of how how it all
went right, how it was and stuff like that. And
you're talking about the same type of dysfunction that exists

(01:45:57):
in Washington. So it's it's just one of those things.
It's not it is ownership, because at the end of
the day, the way a company performs is based upon
the trickle down effect of leadership and culture that is
put in place by the person who is in charge

(01:46:17):
of the business, and so fun I would challenge people
to say, Okay, owners possess the power of executive action.
Right if something doesn't go wrong from every position underneath
the ownership, you fire hire and fire right right. But

(01:46:37):
if you fail as an owner, and you can look
at how these teams failed over the year and over
the years, and at some point you can't say, oh,
those players are no good. Oh they're not Oh he's
a disgruntled player. Oh oh that coach is no good.
Oh there there's no coach that are. You've brought in

(01:46:58):
top college coaches. You've you've brought in top pro coaches,
You've taught it. You've brought in as many top coaches
as you can bring into some of these like Fonts
was a fine coach for Detroit. Couldn't get it done,
you know there was you talked about Cartwell, can't get

(01:47:18):
it done. You bring in these coaches to these these
franchises and they can't get it done. But you can't
sometimes for what it's worth. And I guess you know,
in a world of where entitlement is running rampant. Uh,
you'd have to assume that the real problems that plagued

(01:47:39):
these teams can't be rectified or corrected because there is
no executive decision that can be made on them. That's right.
That's deep stuff, but true stuff. We appreciate it. Man,
We gotta run. But thanks for the knowledge of our
appreciate having me. A happy holidays, brother, You're happy holidays.

(01:48:00):
Disgruntled sports fans, this one's for you. Trash Talking Tuesday

(01:48:43):
All right, it's time for trash talking Tuesday. Don't you
whatever talking about bits trash talking Tuesday. It's your teeth raging.
I don't know whether this. Let you kick a field,
go man, all right, let's get right into it. Jeff

(01:49:04):
in Houston. Who you trashing? Jeff? Yeah, you're trashing. I'm
trash talking the Patriots and Tom Brady. They got cap
Chee cheating for the third time, thurd fourth time, Robin
Christ If your ladies a Cheatah, what do you do?
You dump them? The league should do the same with

(01:49:26):
the Patriots. All right, Jeff, I'm not gonna argue with
you now that dumping them me he means like suspending
them or getting them out the league. How about Tom
and Cincinnati. You're on the odd couple of Fox Sports Radio. Tom,
Who are you trashing? Letter? All right? Go ahead? Did
you hear me? Yeah? That's why you have an explanation. Yeah,

(01:49:51):
go ahead, kwan LETTERD. It's called the NBA. You take
the best of the best. I think he got his
flash food tap if you want to play less games,
lady being w NBA. Oh stop a time, thank you
for the time. He's old school. A Hey, let's go

(01:50:11):
to Kevin in North Carolina, Kevin, who you trashing? I'm
trash trashing the Patriots and Roger Goodell give the Patriots
some sort of dass penalty for cheating equivalent to what
the NCUBA gave a CMU back there in the early eighties. Wow. Wow,
that's that is a harsh penalty. I'm not mad at you.

(01:50:32):
Let's go to Max and Georgia. You're in the couple
of Fox Sports Radio. Max, Max, you got the wrong
call up? Max? Who who you trashing? Max? Through media Um.
Their principles are as follows, think and act like an owner.
Think with an owner's mentality. But we all know Crafts mentality,

(01:50:52):
so that's not a good sign. Take responsibility for your actions.
Well we all know. Being the dialogue, the guy didn't
take responsibility for his actions. Pay attention to detail, Well
the guy didn't know the rule, suppose it, so that's
not detail. Having said that, the dialogue says as followed,
I can go ahead and delete this. It's no problem
once the deleted has gone. Why did a deep dive

(01:51:14):
on the equipment? Use the Sony Essex memory card. As
long as you obtain the memory card and you hold
a possession of it, you can retain deleted file. Now,
if I'm able to figure this out, I'm pretty sure
the Patriots are able to figure it out too. All
you gotta do is have that memory card, put it
in the computer, and you can retain all deleted files. So,
having said that, I'm not buying the Patriots craft. They're shoveling.

(01:51:36):
I think the league needs to bring them down hard,
and I think it's a minimum of your suspension. Wow,
let's going to Tony and DC. Tony, who you're trashing? Tony,
tell us what's good? So go ahead, man, Bob Parker.
Every time you leave something blastments happened. Okay, I'm casually

(01:52:02):
riding with my pastor last week, so we're listening. We're listening,
and then Chris said something like a Rob I know
this being magic and I'm over rating not in your
top ten, and my pastor, being so shocked, told me
to go through the liquor store. G said the most

On Purpose with Jay Shetty

I’m Jay Shetty host of On Purpose the worlds #1 Mental Health podcast and I’m so grateful you found us. I started this podcast 5 years ago to invite you into conversations and workshops that are designed to help make you happier, healthier and more healed. I believe that when you (yes you) feel seen, heard and understood you’re able to deal with relationship struggles, work challenges and life’s ups and downs with more ease and grace. I interview experts, celebrities, thought leaders and athletes so that we can grow our mindset, build better habits and uncover a side of them we’ve never seen before. New episodes every Monday and Friday. Your support means the world to me and I don’t take it for granted — click the follow button and leave a review to help us spread the love with On Purpose. I can’t wait for you to listen to your first or 500th episode!
