(01:28):
get into that. There's some Baseball, COVID is still wreaking
havoc on Major League Baseball, and we got football as well,
So it's gonna be a power pack show today as

How are you doing? I am great? How how is
your day? Busy? Busy, busy? All YEP. For all the
(02:13):
odd Couple fans out there, be looking more gear. More
gear is dropping next week. There's some stuff on social media.
If you look right now on my um all right Instagram,
there's some brand new hats, blue and tan, beautiful looking.
Uh so, a lot of stuff is gonna drop next week,
(02:34):
including some Jordan gear that has the Jordan logos Jordan
promoting the old Couple. Um yeah, I would say that.
I would say that be careful, care All I'm saying
is it's authentic Jordan gear. That's all right, that's all
I'm saying. So make sure you take a look. And
(02:56):
a lot of stuff will drop all next week. Um,
different colors, uh, different items, a lot of different stuff.
Like this is the push. I know we're still in August,
but like the fall push, so it'll be out there.
Let's call it the back to school push. Yep, there
you go, send your kids back to school in authentic
odd couple gear. Even if back to school meets going
(03:19):
into the den or the base. Well, you know New York, Rob,
they're they're they're all in on the school like it's
wide open. They were saying, really like they're going to
they can have school, regular school. This is gonna be interesting.
Cuomo said that today. Yeah. So of course there's a
lot of time left before then, but right now, it's
(03:40):
all good. What's up. We gotta get some on couple
masks out there for people. Yeah, that's right, Rob, that's right.
You know, I was hoping I didn't jump into the
mask business because I was hoping it wasn't gonna last
that long. I don't know, Oh, I know, I made
seriously like the people who jumped in right away were smart.
(04:00):
I really didn't know how long, so I thought about it.
A couple of people said, hey, you want to order some,
and I was like, I'll just wait, wait, wait, and
now I don't know if it's too late for We
did that with plants. We can't do that again. No,
we can't do it. Absolutely all right, let's go. You
hear him, that's our man, DJ Alex Tisher on the
Ones and the Twos again, a funky flashback Friday. He
(04:23):
gets to show off today. Of course, super producer rib
G is in the house and on the updates he
always professional. Mister Steve Di say, Grace, this is a
first time Friday. That's right, So I'm gonna keep it clean.
It's your first time. Just be smart, don't don't do
(04:45):
anything crazy. It's not funny. Don't get fired. Man. I
didn't say, I'm just said your first time, be smart
about it. And it's not that we don't love our listeners.
We have some very loyal people who look forward. I
hear I just see on you know, I can't wait
till the show, can't wait to hear what you guys
gonna say about this or that. So I know that
(05:05):
they're anticipation, but a lot of people. We also we
both hear from say they can't get in. I've been trying,
I can't get in. So we want to give some
other people a chance to get in today. And if
you've never called, and you've listened for months, or you
know we're going on about to start a third year
(05:26):
in September, if you haven't been able to get in,
this is your chance to get in today. First time Friday, right,
And it's also a six minutes We do that every Friday,
so six minutes. It will be in the second hour
of the show. And that one you know, we have
you guys call in and judge, judge, use the winner.
Anybody can call that. That's for anybody, long time callers, newcomers,
(05:50):
whatever it is. But for the first and last hours
of the show, it is a first time Friday. All right, Rob,
let's get into it. And I was on Undisputed to
this morning with Skipp and Shannon, and I tell you
what one of the topics we discussed, Rob, you could
probably guess it. Lakers Blazers looks like the Blazers. They
(06:14):
are roaring to not only the playing game, but they
look like they're gonna roar to the eighth seed and
then have the advantage in the playoff game. But it
looks like they'll be the team that meets the Lakers
in the first round of the playoffs. Now, you know,
anything can happen. They got four seeding games left, so
it's not guaranteed. But I'm thinking it's gonna be the Blazers,
(06:37):
and so are most people. And the question was are
the Blazers who are three and one in the bubble.
Damian Lillard is killing it, averaging thirty something points. CJ McCollum,
Gary Trent Junior, for goodness sake has come out of nowhere,
Yusef Nurkics is back healthy to seven footer, Zach Collins
(06:59):
back healthy, and Carmelo Anthony. Despite what I was reading
about today on dadspin dot com, the Hall of Famer
h A. L. L. Famer is back and playing a
nice little role there. Rob Parker can feel you in
on what I'm really uh alluding to you. You already
(07:20):
know the headline on that column with spectacular, But that
wasn't you though I wrote the heavy headlines too. No,
I usually we don't know, we don't. I suggested that
one because I came up with it. Hollow hollow fam
like hollow numbers that background that should your back page background. Yeah, hollow,
(07:41):
hollow flamer, hollow hollow famer. R H W Right. But no,
I came up with that. You know what's funny, Leon Carter?
You know Leon, yep, Leon Carter hit me up and
and you know Leon of course with the sports other
daily ESPN. And he said it, he said, he's he
sent me Hall of Famer like that's awesome. And then
(08:04):
I said, I wrote that. I wrote that headline. I did.
I'm taking credit. I did. That's a back page that
is a New York Post even daily news back page.
You know, doubt but but yeah, Rob. So the question was,
do you think people are talking now are the Blazers
a legitimate threat to the Lakers in the playoffs because
(08:27):
the Lakers obviously having looked good. What do you think
I'm not there yet. I remember the Blazers last year.
I know it's a different year, different people, when they
got swept in the Western Conference finals, not ready for
prime time, and you know, getting excited about a couple
of games, especially when you're beating some teams that really
(08:49):
don't have that much to gain from it. You know,
they're in their spots, So I just would be careful
before people think, oh, wow, look the Blazers gonna win.
I don't see it. I'm not buying in. If the
Lakers would have losed to the Blazers in the first round,
it would be because the Lakers are self destructed. Anthony
(09:10):
Davis was a no show. Lebron James had a bum
big toe, seriously, and if that would have happened, it
would be a catastrophee for the Lakers, even more so
than crowning the Trail Blazers. That's how big it wouldn't
be the other way around. The story would be Lebron
(09:33):
James and Anthony Davis choked to the Portland Trailblazers. It
would and a lot of people also would look at
it as Okay, the end of Lebron James's prime is here. Yep.
That's how they would look at it, like, because if
for you right, for them to lose, rob Lebron would
(09:53):
have to look like he's looked in the bubble, which
I don't expect to happen, and I expect him to
turn it on and play like Lebron James in the playoffs.
And remember it ain't about one game. You're beating Lebron
James and Anthony Davison four games. Seriously, I just four games, Chris.
If it happens, I will be I'll be the first
(10:15):
to raise my hand to say stunned, unbelievable, can't believe it.
And you're right the beginning of the end of Lebron
James in the NBA. Yeah, and I gave I said
it on the show Undisputed. I said I give the
Blazers an eight to ten percent chance of upsetting the Lakers.
(10:36):
And now if you ask me, can they make it
a series? Can they go six? Maybe, can they go seven?
Then I'd say, yeah, there's a good I think there's
a good chance of that. But even if it goes seven,
I don't give the Blazers a chance to win it.
And most people would say, well, if he goes seven,
anybody can win. I would be shocked even in seven
(10:57):
if the Blazers won. So I think they can make
in a series, but I do not think they can
beat the Lakers. As you said, four out of seven,
and one of their major problems it was one game. Chris, Oh, oh, yeah,
of course, anything especially with the three point ball game.
They got nobody robed to guard Lebron James, and and
(11:20):
and it looked mellow. I don't care if it's skinny mellow.
I don't care if it's hoodie mellow. I don't care
if it's orangeman mellow from Syracuse. I don't care if
it's Olympic mellow. I don't care if it's yellow mellow
or mellow yellow whatever the pop was called, not guard
(11:41):
Lebron James. Zach Collins cannot guard Lebron James. And if
you sef Nurkics wants to provide resistance at the rim,
we saw how that turned out last time Lebron put
him on a poster. That's not even a mention. Anthony Davis,
so I robed, I look, Portland is a great story
(12:01):
in the bubble, but and look, I get it. The
Lakers have trouble guarding the perimeter. Portland's shooting lights out,
so people are looking at it like man, man, you know,
I think you know they got a shot again. They
got a shot to push the Lakers and make it interesting.
They do not have a shot, in my opinion, to
(12:23):
beat the Lakers. No, I just don't see it. I
understand why people are looking at the Lakers. I think
when you look at the Lakers, it's more about long
term and whether or not they can get to the
Western Conference Ronalds or even win. Those are the concerns,
and I think those are real, Chris. They play better
teams you know later on, maybe even Houston, exactly Houston
(12:47):
and the Clippers. When you look at those teams, I think, okay,
there could be an issue. They don't have the depth,
the top heavy, they don't shoot the three ball, and
they don't defend the three ball. And this man's NBA. Chris,
how in the world could you feel good about that? Absolutely? Absolutely.
And here's the other thing. Rob Lebron James, for whatever reason,
(13:09):
his teams have a habit of kind of taking the
pedal off the gas late in the season. In twenty
seventeen when he were still in Cleveland, they wouldn't eleven
and fifteen over the last two months and still, of
course reached the finals in twenty sixteen when they won
it all. They finished ten and seven in the regular season,
not great, and of course won the finals. So we
(13:32):
saw in the East how playoff Lebron would come out
of nowhere and just destroy everybody. Now? Is that gonna
happen throughout the Western playoffs? I don't think so, but
it certainly can happen in the first round. So I
playoff Lebron and Anthony Davis. I don't see them going
down to the Portland Trailblazers. But what do you guys think?
(13:54):
Eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox eight seven seven
ninety nine, six six three sixty nine. And remember it's
the first time caller Friday. You're turning away in. Could
Damian Lillard, Dame Dollar and the Blazers upset Lebron and
the Lakers in the first round of the playoffs? Will
(14:14):
continue the conversation with you. Next, it's The Eye Couple
of Christen Rob Fox Sports Radio. Be sure to catch

(15:03):
I can picture Rob Parker, young Rod Parker jamming to
change in Jamaica, Queens coming the rug. I think the
music was playing. I don't know about cutting the rug.
We might have been in the back of my Ford
pinto all right, or that note that we'll get in
(15:25):
to the caller that that Wait a minute, I thought
this was a first time people call it. I'm looking
at Shack and Richmond Virginia. Isn't he hasn't he called before?
I don't know. Let's just go with Rob. I don't.
I don't remember that. I think so have a better memory, though, Rob,
just that good memory. I don't remember that though. All right,
(15:45):
Let's go with him. All right, let's let's start. Uh,
let's start with Shack and Richmond, Virginia. You're on the
odd couple first time, I mean a couple of Fox
Sports Radio. What do you got first time what's going on?
But you have a call Michael Jordan a while ago.
See I knew that. Okay, yeah, but uh it's all
(16:05):
right man, ahead you're not don't punish. Yeah, I think
Portland has a chance to do them though, man, because
the Lakers just look there. And I'm a Dahod Lakers fan. Man,
we're the only team in the bubble. We don't average
one hundred points. We can't shoot, we can't defend any guards,
defend any you know, three point shot. And to me,
(16:26):
this gives me more like tournament field, and it's more
or less about who's hot not. But it's still seven games.
That's the You're right, if you to tournament field, that's
one and done. And yeah, that's your big equalizers game. Serious,
and your concerned is well taken as far as them
trying to get to where they want to go, which
(16:46):
is to win a championship. If I was a Laker fan,
I'd be concerned too with what some of the numbers
he just brought up. But that's not what we're right.
We're just talking about getting out of the freaking first
exactly exactly. Thanks for the car. What about in a
strange place, though. I will say that bubble some strange
happenings right now. Chris and Michigan, you're on the odd
couple of Fox Sports Radio. What you got first time? Hey, guys,
(17:10):
love the show, love thanks for listening all the time.
Appreciate it. Um. For me, I don't think Portland can
beat them in the first round. Damian Lillard is a stud.
He's a great player. Um, But like you guys said,
over seven games, it's just I don't think that's enough
to be Anthony Davis and Lebron If you could beat
the Right in seven games after they had the best
(17:33):
record in the West and all the stuff that happened
this year, that would that would say a lot. It'd
be disastrous for the Lakers. Yeah, and it would be
disastrous for the Lakers. And I feel like Brian, you know,
we've seen this over his career. He kind of coast
sometimes until it comes playoff time and then he turns
it up. So I feel like that's coming. Yeah. I
don't feel them losing in the first round. Thanks, Chris,
(17:54):
appreciate it. What about Mo in South Carolina, You're on
the odd couple of Fox Sports Radio. Mo. What you
got first timer. Yes, Christian Rob love y'all since the
other station. I'll watch y'all all the time. Thank you
by Sports one. Yeah, I'm originally from Brooklyn because I'll
be laughing at Rob talking about stride rights and all that.
Think an avenue. That's right, you already do, right yeah.
(18:19):
And one other thing I want to say. I'm tired
of your guys talking about the post office people and
going to the y m c A. I'm a postal
person that I played ball, so hold, but you ain't
going to the y ain't wait, wait, explain what you mean. No,
when y'all be talking about Kevin Durant, when he'd be like,
if you don't want to be known, just go to
the wire working for the post office, and what we
(18:40):
were saying that that's not we don't we're not disparaging
the job, right No, but it's not a job that
makes you famous, right are you? Do you get interviewed
by reporters every day? All right, Dick coming and ask
you about your performance? I mean, really, that's all we're saying. No,
no, no no, I just be laughing because it's I'd be like, man,
they're talking about me, I played old I was post
(19:01):
and I ain't getting paid like the rent. You go,
all right, what you got? Mellow should have been there
about four years ago. And they might give LA a problem.
I hold, can they beat La? Yes, that's what we
want to know, not about playing them talk. They can't
(19:22):
be La. And if I LA keeps on playing like
they playing in this bubble right now on the campus
with this up and down and a ding doing what
he got to do, they might be They might be
going in six. Don't sleep, it's no. You're not only
talking about Portland beating them, but beating him in six, right,
that would be unbelieve all right, just rolled over in
(19:43):
his grave and he's not even dead yet, John and Kentucky,
you're in the couple of Fox Sports Radio. What's you
got for us, mister first timer? What's up? Fella's lovely?
Thank you? Yeah? Now, look, La is they're gonna coast
maybe a game or two, and and Lillard's gonna get
(20:04):
his But you know, just like just like the previous
color said, they're gonna fiel it out. But the only
way they're gonna get beat is if the Clippers show
up in some Portland uniforms. That's it the only way
that's going to happen. And I gotta say, I gotta
give a shout out to my man Marty Blue who
I work with, and little River. Oh you work with
(20:26):
Marty do? I am a Jordan collector myself, so, uh
I saw them a little rida. Did you see those
red jays I got for River? About to give you
his address, Rob, Yeah, those are nice. Oh, my man,
my man, my man River. Hey, John, I had to
(20:47):
hook him up. That's my little dude right there. He's
a great guy. They're they're good people. They're good people. Yeah.
But thank getting back. There's no way. Yeah, there's no way.
They're losing the first round. That's that's just not gonna happen.
All right, Thanks for I appreciate it. Yup, somebody different
getting in. What about Brandon in Jacksonville? You're on the
odd couple of Fox Sports Radio. What you got first time? Uh? Hey, guys,
(21:11):
love the show, love the show, Thank you, thank you.
I gotta say I'm Miami heat fan. I don't have
a horse in this race, but I love Lebron. I
love me some Dame Dollar. I'm not saying the most
you know, statistical thing to happen, but you're staying seven games.
Portland's only gotta get hot for four. They only have
to win four, you know, And I think Dame could
(21:33):
do it. Well, look Dame and I love Dame. I
think Dame is like last year when they got hot thing.
Oh no, they got swept in because Dame has had
We all jumped on James Harden, Rob, I don't, but
Rob jumps on Steph Curry. You know that Dame is
now people jump on Westbrook. Rob now getting to that
(21:54):
level where it's like, Okay, we know you're a star
and all that, but can you take to the next level?
He has not shown us that. I'm not saying he can,
but he hasn't shown us that because he, like you said,
he didn't do it last year, last year that first
round that yeah in the player in the conference finals,
and then of course the year before they got swept
by New Orleans. So all right, we've got one of
(22:17):
the pioneers of hip hop. Maybe I call it that
second wave of hip hop in the early nineties, late eighties,
early nineties. He's a pioneer. Fred row Star from the
rap super group Onix, joining us on Celebrity Corner next.
But first, Fox Sports Radio has the best sports talk
(22:37):
lineup in the nation. Catch all of our shows at
Fox Sports Radio dot com and within the iHeart Radio app.
Search f SR to listen live. Cet God, I know
for the odd couple Celebrity Corner, Man, I'm excited today,
(22:57):
y'all know. I get height when we have a hip
hop legend on Celebrity Corner and you hear the jam
right now multi platinum. It's our man, Fred ros Star
from the legendary group ONIX. What's up, brother? Yeah, what's
going on? My brothers? Man? It's great to have you
(23:18):
or my man, and let me let me shout out
your podcast because I know you want to talk sports,
so we're gonna get the plenty of sports too. But
you're the co host of the Rappers Ballers podcast with
Johnny Vulgar, so we're gonna talk about that first. I
know Rob's got a question for you. Yeah, I just
wanted to say, No, where Queens did you grow up?
(23:39):
When you you know where I'm from, Jamaica, Queens, Linden, Lords, Boys,
Sers weep on the same neighborhood. Man, that's what's up.
My wife is from Rochdale village man, and you see yea,
and they got married on the Triangle church there on
(24:01):
on Linden and Merit yep, wow wow yea. Please all
days right right, all right, so look let's let's get
to it now. Tell us about your podcast, Rappers Ballers.
What are y'all? You know, is it y'all talking to
rappers about hooping, football and stuff or what is it?
What's the y'all? Tell us about the podcast she Rappers
(24:22):
and Ballers just hosted about me, my boy Johnny Voga.
You know, I feel like hip hop and basketball and boxing,
and you know it's the same coaching man. So we
just talk about sports and talk about hip hop, you
know what I'm saying? Every episode or on Rappers and
Baller if we do have a freestyle though, that's what
makes our podcasts different from other podcasts. We always got
(24:43):
a freestyle at the end, you know what I'm saying.
So yeah, now you say we do do the do
the athletes come on and rap or or you just
drop a freestyle or how's it work? We got athletes rapping.
The co host both rapp Actually we even dropped the
EP to support the the podcast because my co host.
He thinks he can rap, so I was like, all right,
let let's go EP. So yeah, my man, Johnny Voger,
(25:06):
we got to ep. But yeah, guests come on in
and wrap. The first episode is with BSSEF, which is
black soprano family that's been in the Butcher's label and
they're artists. We got him on their Rick High and
love boat Luciano. They kill a freestyle that episode to
be dropping this Monday, rappers and balls everywhere. All right, cool, cool?
Now tell me growing up in New York obviously, uh,
(25:29):
you're a Nick fan. And when you're thinking that, am
I wrong? Or are you a Nick fan? Since called
Melo left fan? He left, So that was in Now
we're gonna ask you. I'm up, Rob, I'm gonna put
him on blast. Yeah, you can put me on. Mellow
(25:49):
is an easy first ballot Hall of Famer. No, no,
no way, his NBA career for college. But get college
and get college in the Olympics. I think just base
throwing his NBA career. Mellow's a Hall of Famer. Rob
disagrees where are you at? On that he has to
be all he has to be a Hall of Famer
Man come on, look what he did. I mean his career,
(26:11):
Like you said, even from college, he's always been a
marquee axe. So you know, because he don't have a ring,
that doesn't make him not a Hall of Famer. Come on,
he's called mellow Anthony. You know what I'm saying, and
what is still playing at a high level right now. So,
but it's not just about number seven to guard number
you already know, but it's not just about not having
a ring. Is when I look at his career, I
(26:33):
look at it as mostly disappointing to me. I'll give
you an example of a couple of guys who didn't
win rings, but they were able. Charles Barkley won an
MVP and took the Sons to the finals. Even Dwight
Howard Okay took his team in Orlando to the championship.
Alan Iverson go look at the Squaddy had in Philadelphia
(26:55):
when they made it to the championship. That's the one
thing if you're one of those lead players. I'm not
saying you have to win. But he never won an
MVP and never got his team to a championship. I
think that's where you start to look at people and
determine whether or not there you know, one of the
greatest of all time is definitely debatable right here, definitely
(27:20):
because see I would throw out Dominique Wilkins and George
Gurvin never got too close to the finals and or
an MVP and their Hall of famers. Rob certainly by
the standards of people in the Hall of Fame, Chris Mullin,
who was a great player, better than mellow guys like that. Yeah,
but those are all based on college and different stuff
(27:42):
as well. But well, we were talking about that yesterday.
I mean, God blessed him. He's got one three of them.
But come on, man, I could have played on that
team and got a gold medal and you know what,
and they beat you and and they beat uh, they
beat Uruguay, you know what I mean, Like, let's be honest,
all right. So, so, fred Ro, are you watching the bubble?
(28:04):
We know that who do you have? Who? Who Rob?
And I have picked the Clippers to win him from
We've seen nothing to change our mind. Where are you
out on the bubble? Who do you like coming out
of it? Oh? Man? You know, man, my favorite person
in the bubble, I mean it has to be Lebron
James and the Lakers. Man, I think I think I'm
(28:26):
gonna have to go with Lebron and the Lakers just
because he's Lebron, and I think it's I think losing
last year. I think I think they're gonna try hard
this shit. But the Clippers is the Clippers. They always
beating the Lakers, man, so it's gonna be real tough.
But Lisa's gonna end up in the lake, you know
what I mean. I think the champion is gonna end
up in the lake. Whoever it is, the Lakers and
the Clippers, that's where it's gonna end up. This ship
(28:47):
straight up ahead. I was gonna say, a lot of
people think in Portland can beat the Lakers in the
first round because of how the Lakers have looked in
the bubble. I don't. We don't think that. But you
don't seem to be concerned about the Blazers either, Nah man.
I love Dame Dowler, man, but I just don't. I
(29:07):
think when it comes to like, when it gets down
to the nitty gritty, they always face short for some reason,
you know what I'm saying. So I don't know. I
gotta give it to the Clippers of the Lakers, the Lakers,
the Lakers. How about when you talk about what you
just talked about Lebron. We've always had this debate about
Michael Jordan and Lebron. Who's the greatest of all time?
(29:28):
Give me your greatest basketball player, and give me the
greatest rapper of all time. Oh man, the greatest rapper
of all time has to be Rock Kim. Okay, wait,
because I came up in that. When we came up, man,
Rock Kim was you know, paid it for that album.
Brought me through a lot. It brought me to just
being like responsible ever since. Right a minute, Wait a minute,
(29:49):
let me let me let me interrupt, because isn't there
a line from there that I can't shake from my head?
You thought I was a donut. You tried to glaze
me right right right, all right. I can't change the game.
There's no doubt he totally and come to basketball. Like
people forget about Doctor Jay. You know when I came up, man, Doc,
(30:13):
When I was a kid, Doctor Jay was the guy
like he was doing all the dumps. He was the
special player to me. Like Doctor Jay. When I was
a little kid, it was Doctor j and Coca Cola
that that was American in me, you know what I'm saying.
So everybody talk about magic and they talk about Lebron,
they missed Doctor Jay. He was the greatest to me.
So that's my number one player over Michael Jordan's. Yeah,
(30:37):
because he meant more to me, like Michael Jack, like
Michael Jordan's like I felt that. But but it was
Doctor Jay who I was was a little kid that
made me love basketball. Doctor Jay Muhammad, Ali Bruce Sleeve.
That's my era. You know what I'm saying. I'm from
the seventy and I'm i'm I'm I'm an og. You
(30:59):
know what I'm about Doctor Jay. Because people look at
it say he's only got one title, which in the
NBA is true, but you remember he won two rings
in the ABA, and people might try they try to
pooh poo that, but Rob during those years that he
won his championships, the ABA and the NBA would always
(31:19):
play each other like they're you know, teams from the
ABA would play teams from the NBA and exhibitions and
the ABA would win sixty six percent of the time,
two out of every three they were winning. So you
can that rid those two rings from Doctor j should
be viewed just as greatly as like the ring that
(31:40):
won it. It's not, unfortunately, but I I as I've
looked more closely at that, I say, you know what
it probably should be. But you're right, Rod, we don't
view it that way, but maybe we should. But you
know what, you actual one what's their favorite artists or
what their favorite basketball players. It's not on stats. It's
(32:01):
based on pack ups life. You know what I'm saying.
If if the impact is greater, you're gonna remember it different.
You know what I'm saying. So that's why I ticked
rock Him as my favorite rapper because I felt that
I went through that basically taught queens that was Rock
Him era. And then you know Doctor Jay. When I
was a kid, that was the guy. When I was
a young kid, I felt I love a basketball at
(32:23):
the age of eight nine years old. You know what
I'm saying. I hear you. I hear you. Fred Joe
Star from the legendary rap group ONIX. Look, man, you're
you're based in La right? I based in La Man.
We got rappers and ballers. He's doing a podcast shout
to Canny Pins. We had the Candy Pins Mansion doing
a podcast was dope. You know, La got the best trees,
the best weather. So that's what we are. Hey thing,
(32:47):
last thing clears up. We're gonna bring you a studio. Yes, yeah,
what was the what was the name of the Hamburger
spot on Lending in Merrick. It was a big silver,
big white building on the corner of Linden and Meerica
was a Hamburger place. When we're growing up in Jamaica, Queens.
I know, I know about Linden, Linden and something. You
(33:08):
got McDonald's. I know that's that's McDonald's. It was, you
know what it was, Benson Burgers. It was right there
on the corner. No, you got you're talking so you're
talking about like more with tropical questions that I'm more
Rockway Boulevard. Oh yeah, the famous Fishhouse. You know what
I'm saying. You know about what that is? Yeah, at
the Fishhouse, you know what I'm saying, Right by Rockway Boulevard.
(33:31):
Ron might be talking about the sixties. Two No, I'm
not talking about the sixties. All right, brother man Grek.
We appreciate it, man, and we will get you in
studio in the future. Good luck for the podcast. Too.
All right, but man, yeah, yeah, all right, that's Fred
Joe's star from on Nix here on the Eye. We'll
(33:51):
keep it like Fox Sports Radio. Fox Sports Radio has
the best sports talk lineup in the nation. Catch all
of our shows at Fox sports Radio dot com and
within the iHeart Radio app search f s R to
listen live. All right, it's the Eye couple, Chris and
Rob on a funky flashback Friday. That's right, and uh, Rob,
(34:16):
let's go to baseball quickly. Something went down with the
Oakland A's today that I know just fired you up,
and as it should have fired everybody up. But I
know you want to talk about it. A bench coach
Ryan Christensen. I guess he says it was accidental, but
he did the Nazi salute on the field, not once,
(34:38):
twice twice and the player kind of bumped him like, YO,
don't do that to me. That means they they they
they've been talking about that, right. The player saw him
doing it. It kind of pushed his arms away or right,
push his hands down, like yo, don't be doing that
out here. You know that that brings up, But I
(35:00):
know you want to talk about that. To go ahead. No,
it's It's just that I don't understand how the Hile Hitler.
You know that they used to do. Everybody knows. If
you watch reruns of Hogan's Heroes, they say it and
put their hand up every single time, you know, like
it's done. People know what that is. Chris, I don't
believe that that Ryan Christensen didn't didn't know what that was.
(35:23):
Do you know what I'm saying, Like, that's the part
I can't understand. What do you what are you doing? Yeah?
I mean look if I had seen him do that
me personally, would I have associated that with the Nazis.
I don't think I would have. But when you when
you look at it, yeah, it just I don't know
(35:44):
that ain't cool. That ain't cool that It is hard
to believe he didn't know what it was. That's what
I'm saying, Like, like that that's associated with the Hile
Hitler and the whole Nazis and what's going on. It's
just insensitive, like like you don't people don't do that.
That's not a part of anything that people doing baseball Chris,
to celebrate. I've never seen that, have you. I've been
(36:06):
watching baseball my whole life. No put the hand straight
up and give me a right a high five on
on top. I've seen everything either, Ryan says. He says
it was unintentionally, says, obviously I wasn't doing that intentionally.
He clearly was doing the gesture intentionally. Is he trying
(36:27):
to say he didn't know it meant? You know what
it meant? Or that's the part I have the issue
with is don't don't tell me you don't know what
that is. I just I can't believe a grown man
in twenty twenty, knowing the history of the Nazis and
Hitler and the whole nine yards, Chris, you'd have to
(36:48):
be blind to not think that that was what what
are you doing? Like? Like I that's the part I
have an issue, And I don't know what the Oakland
A's He issued an apology, still has a gig. They
should a statement too. They said they don't condone it.
They know that it's right right right. They caught it
incredibly offensive, and people are saying especially in these times,
(37:11):
well in any times. I mean it's not just COVID
times or you know, Black Lives Matter times, or you
know there's been some anti Semitic situations come up lately,
it's not just those times. It's period all right, interesting stuff,
But we got two hours left of the Odd Cup
on the flashback Funky Friday, Keep it Locked.
