Twitter Chris Bruce R sixty eight On the Grand We
got Charlie Castle, the former NFL GM, joining us at
the bottom of the hour to talk all things in

(01:08):
flu You gotta point to make Rob. Yeah, you guys
getting a two feet of snow? Chris? Is that is
that the forecast in Jersey? We are We are in
New York, Greater New York where I live, New York,
Greater New York City, Right, We are. You know, depending
on what area you're in, it could be anywhere between
six to eighteen inches. My goodness, think about that. So yeah,

(01:33):
it uh, it could be. Uh they're saying it could
be the biggest snowstorm if what they're predicting is true,
would be the biggest snowstorm in the four years and
what four years? Four years? Yeah? You know what every
every year when these things happen, like the big snowstorm,
and Chris, whether they happened or not, and go and

(01:54):
lay lay lay back on the beach. No that I
was just saying that there's always like some anchor woman
who puts her foot in her mouth. Do you know
what I mean with the weather man. Have you're seeing
those clips? No, and then she'll she'll she'll turn to
the weather man or something and she'll say, what happened
to those eleven inches? You promised me this weekend? You know?

(02:16):
You know, like when I'm talking about I'm talking about snow, Chris,
You never a Alex rob G. You've never seen these videos?
Every more, I have not myself, Rob rob G. Do
not wrote me into your shenanigans. Right now, Rob searches
for videos like that or he searching for something else

(02:39):
and that comes up. All right, will not sent of
the internet uses for one thing and it ain't the gospel,
trust me? Yeah, unfortunately it is. I hear your nat
all right. But anyway, Rob, speaking of good news, good
news for a Super Bowl pick, I don't think they're

(03:03):
getting there, but hey, it certainly could make you optimistic.
The Baltimore Ravens came out and won an instant classic
last night, and that was, oh my god. You know,
it reminded me kind of that was that Rams Chiefs
A yeah, remember that four or fifty two or something

(03:25):
like that, whatever the final score was. But yeah, that
was a night. I thought that Patrick Mahomes gave up
the MVP. Do you remember he had five picks interception.
He have five picks in that game. You know, I
don't know how many. He might have had four or
five touchdowns because but he had five picks and he's
still so that would have been last year. Then. No,
he didn't win the MVP last year too, No, I know,

(03:45):
so he wanted so he wanted despite those five picks.
So yeah, yeah, yeah, okay, yeah, that's what I'm saying.
That was the year. I thought that hurt to him. Okay, okay, yeah,
but great game, tremendous game, and Lamar Jackson heroic. Everybody
knows that I'll recap it really quickly. But he left
the game with cramping, according to him. Rob Parker and

(04:09):
others think he had to use the bathroom, but he
was gone for a while. It was it wasn't that long. Anticipation, Chris.
Sometime ain't as easy as you think. Huh. I mean,
he had to get back to the field. Whatever the case.
Maybe he didn't have a brand muffin for breakfast, but anyway,
his his his backup trades. McSorley gets hurt knee injury,

(04:32):
and Lamar sprints back on the field and fourth and
five Rob and throws the get what at that point
seemed like the game winning touchdown. Unbelievable, Chris, it was right.
I mean, like like you think to yourself, okay, I
can't throw this because of its incomplete games over we lose.

(04:55):
I could no choice. No, I'm just saying, and get
five yards or try to get the I'm just saying,
like he was fearless, that was the correct play, Chris.
Once the receiver broke, the dow was wide open. No,
I take anything away from him, but yeah, but that
was but yeah, he could have ran, he could have
ran for the first down and a little more. But yeah,
he made a great play. And then Baker may Feel

(05:18):
to his credit, comes down, marches them down for a
game tying touchdown in like forty some odd seconds, and
then Lamar comes back marches Baltimore for a game winning
field goal a fifty. Yeah, that dude is a great kicker. Uh,
somethink the best ever, not just the best right now,

(05:40):
but the best ever. But anyway, you have some strong
feelings on this. Obviously, you put Baltimore with their horrendous
record where they now seven and eight and five? Eight
and five? Is that what they are? Yeah? The same
as Tampa Bay, the team you think's going to the
Super Bowl. Well that you think Baltimore is going to
Super No, but just saying that freendis record. But that's

(06:01):
the record that Tom Brady and the Buck Fred. Okay,
so you were trying to be cute and I caught you,
so back off and yeah, always cute, No, you ain't
always cute. There are ugly kids too, you know, every
kid ain't cute? All right, go ahead, and speak your piece.
I know you're all excited. You spent the night in

(06:21):
the garage, but he needed baby oil and okay stuff CMI.
But last night I wrote a column Chris going into
that game for Dead Spend, saying that Lamar had a
chance to silence his critics, and he did last night.
I don't care what anybody said. You can say, well,

(06:42):
we gotta wait to the playoffs. No, we're in the
regular season now. This season was on the line, and
they needed him to come through like the MVP d
unanimous MVP he is. And he showed up on the
road against the nine and three team that had been
beating everybody. Oh gosh, now now there, Chris. Can you

(07:07):
be quiet that he had been beating everybody? Oh now,
all of a sudden the Browns and is great time,
right and they and they came fit narrative and they
came on the road to win that big game. And
he had a very good game both with running the
football and making the throws that he needed to and
moving the team down. Other than the time, Chris, in

(07:29):
the last two drives that he spiked the ball, he
was five for five. He made all the passes that
he needed. And people can say whatever they want. They
were writing them off. They want Kyler Murray, they want
to uh, they want anybody. But but this guy, this
guy is dangerous. And when this team plays and obviously
the defense gave up a lot. Yeah I don't forget that,

(07:51):
I know that, but but he's still on a night.
This is when we talk about great players, Chris. You
don't always have all your everything working for you. Those
are the nights you need that great player to do
more to carry you across the All right, he's gonna
pick up the defense, right, not once, but twice, pick

(08:14):
up the defense because they're not there tonight. That's what
that's a great player because everybody, everything's not going to
always be working, and you have to elevate yourself. When
he throws that that touchdown, people are like, what I mean,
it's just what's easier for him to try to run

(08:34):
and get five yards or whatever it is and leave
it at that and not take a chance. He was open.
He made the play, and even after that that could
have been like, okay, Baker may feeling them. They come
back down. Oh man, what a downer? That's it? And no,
what does he do He leads them down the field
again for the field goal. All I'm saying is, yes,

(08:57):
does he have things to prove in the postseason, yes,
get it, But for right here, for right now, the
way he's been talked about, dog downgraded, disrespected, where people
act like he's dog meat and dog food because things
haven't been the same, and you can use it as

(09:18):
excuses whatever you want. With all the injuries, the offensive line,
they don't run the ball like they used to. They're
getting better the last couple of weeks, but it's been
a struggle. And mark my words, if they can get
healthy and continue to play in this pad, they're going
to be dangerous. They're going to be a dangerous out
because we saw some of that last night in a

(09:38):
must win when you really needed to have it. And
my hat's off to him because there were plenty of
opportunities for him to not come through and for their
season to be over. I told you, Chris last night.
Them winning that game last night, the perchances of them
going to the playoffs now eighty four percent. Had they lost,

(09:59):
it would have been thirty seven percent. That is as
big of a regular season game as we've seen. Let
me ask you a question because you started this by saying,
Lamar Jackson silenced his critics. If Baltimore gets to the
playoffs and loses their first game, will he will Will
his critics be ripping him? I don't know. Ye, the
defense give up. I don't know how. Don't matter? Yes

(10:21):
it does, because we had five hundred somebody yards total
and he got ripped because they lost. No, if you bad,
you had your seven minutes. Well now now you can
give them. Now you can give them a bad five minutes.
Lamar Jackson played great. He was It was a great performance.

(10:43):
It was heroic. It was a Hollywood script that people
would not have believed that happened. It was storybook. I'm
happy for the young man, But for you to get
up here and say he silenced his critics, it's just
light out erroneous. No, it's not because his critics are saying,

(11:05):
Kenny win in the playoffs. No, but we're not in
the playoffs. Great in the regular seats were ripping him
super State. To fit your narrative, you overstated dog food
dog me. Nobody was saying that. All they were saying
is he hasn't been as good this year as he
was last year. No one thought he wasn't dangerous. You

(11:27):
have to be out of your gored to think themar
Jackson is not dangerous. All people were doing was observing
and stating the obvious. He has not been as good,
nor has that team as they were last year. Chris,
you picking on him. They're not picking on him. They're

(11:50):
saying they're not the same team, and they're not and
beating the Cleveland Browns, who every chance you get your
poo poo because who've they beaten? I'm bigging that, except
when we're talking about Green Bay. I'm big going who
you're beating? Who winning teams have you done it against?
Now all of a sudden their world beaters? Will you

(12:13):
stop it? Keep it in perspective. I mean, I'm with
you that Lamar was great, as I was with you
that Jannis took that was a great move for him
to stay in Milwaukee. But you take it too far.
You're overstated, You blow it out of proportion. You make

(12:34):
a mounting out of a mole hill down. Rob Parker,
you might get trash five times tonight on trash Talking Tuesday.
People know that I'm that guy who's gonna put that
in perspective for you so you could follow and understand
what has happened. You know, you watch and sometimes you're

(12:57):
not sure what you just watched. These what a Chris
Boussard's last night who said they would take Kyler Murray
over this guy? All those people? Where are those people forward?
I'm still saying Kyler Murray six and five barely barely
in the playoffine the rest of the squad that Baltimore
has no But I'm talking about all the injuries that

(13:18):
Baltimore has had most of the season. You talked to
most NFL executives and people, they identify and recognize what
the Ravens are not the same team because they've lost
a lot of people. Okay, that's just fact. That ain't
making an excuse. All I'm telling you is I would
take Lamar Jackson over Kyler Murray every single day of

(13:40):
the week. It's not even close. It's fine. That's not
like going out on a limb. There are a lot
of people that would do that, and there are a
lot of people that would take Kyler. I mean, you
act like that's some huge insult alt to a guy unanimous.
Matt Ryan was a free get MVP was not he

(14:02):
was not unanimous? Does Samus on the trophy DP? Only
two players who've ever done it too? So what? And
one guy cheated? And I told you about how great
it was great? Nobody has anyone said he wasn't great
last year. Your panties in a bunch, I mean they're
all bunched up. My gosh, eight seven seven ninety nine

(14:26):
On Fox, here we go and get B and B.
Don't trash Rob yet, save it for trash talking to
I know all y'all want to get at him. I'm
gonna throw it out there. Did Lamar Jackson and the
Ravens silence their critics last night? Yeah? By giving up
forty two points to a mediocre offense. Did they silence

(14:47):
him or not? Or is Rob just blowing this out
of proportion? As great as Lamar was, and he was great?
Eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox, we will continue

Let's get to these calls. Rob did Lamar Jackson silence

(15:54):
critics last night? Or was it just a fantastic individual
performance but he's still got a critic? It's the silence,
all right? Josh and Pencil Tucky, you're on the odd
couple of Fox Sports Radio. What's up, Josh? SOA's Merry Christmas, Mary,
christ Merry Christmas? Josh? All right? All I want to
say is how many times have we got to go

(16:15):
down this road with the with the mobile quarterbacks you've got,
whether it's RG three right, Kaepernick, Cam. I mean, these
guys have proven they can be good for a little while.
I mean, they can win you some games, but at
the end of the day, if you want to win championships,
usually you need that guy that's gonna hang in the
pocket and you know it's gonna be accurate and can

(16:38):
three defenses. That's that's the problem with Lamar. Well that
none of the running quarterbacks have won a Super Bowl. Yeah,
but there have been other quarterbacks who want that good
of one super Bowl too, right, Yeah, So so it's
not like it's impossible. I totally discount and disagree that

(16:58):
Lamar can't win a Super Ball. I don't. I don't buy.
I don't buy. You can say it, but I'm just
saying I don't. I don't buy into that. I just don't.
I think that's too easy. Adam in California, couple Fox
Sports Radio. Well, we're not in the playoffs now, so
we got to talk about we've been in front of us.
Stop talking about the playoffs, Chris, it's the regular bunched

(17:21):
up My goodness, Relax, Adam Gentleman talking Tuesday. Yeah, I'm
usually on your side with everything, usually on your side,
but you gotta put the antilock brakes on man. Thank you.
Last night he did. He had a good game. But
you're going up against the defense that really is blackluster.

(17:44):
Like Cleveland's defense is mediocre at best, both defenses going
going into that game. Hold on, let me let me
give you something facts. Let me give you some league. No,
not on home at home that we're giving up eighteen
points a game. No, No, you're wrong. I'm giving you

(18:14):
facts that were giving game. You're disappointing me, Rob because
you're you're I'm usually on your side, but this time
christ did walk the floor with you. With you, Adam,
you know what, I think? You're misguided tonight. You know
what take tomorrow? I don't know where we take two

(18:35):
chocolate chip cookies. You call me tomorrow. I'm glad you're
not my doctor. That's your subscription. Go eat a bag
of the ritos and call me in the morning. If
I was your doctor. You have sugar diabetes. Oh, glad,

(18:57):
glad in North Carolina. You're on the a couple of
Fox Sports Radio. What's so glad? Hey, what's going on?
It's my first time calling in and I'm well good
to have you. Don't make it your last. That's right,
Thank you man. We appreciate the support. Thank you. It's
it's the question I want, not the question, but the

(19:18):
thing I wanted to say was, you know, Jo Peyton
Manning a long time before he could win the playoff game,
and I think people just just giving LaVar jack to
the chance. He's he's growing up to be a better
quarterback and I think in time he's going to overcome
that challenge of not winning the playoff game. Yeah, I would.
I would agree with that. Yeah, And that's where one
thing about today's society, and we're part of it everything.

(19:43):
I mean, championships are so emphasized now, winning right away,
it's so emphasized Rob, you know, like you used to
not even start for a year or two, you know,
three years, right and now you know we're we're talking
about you gotta win. I'm with you, I'm with him
on that. I would think that Lamar will win some

(20:05):
playoff games going forward. But I do think we still
it remains to be seen if as a mainly running quarterback,
how much longevity he have. But yeah, I think he'll
certainly win some playoff games. Keith and Peoria, Illinois, You're
on the odd couple of Fox Sports Radio. What's up Keith,
how we're doing. Tell us Brob, come on now, you

(20:27):
should like Kyrie the world now, so that everybody know.
Everybody knows it that Lamar Jackson is a pretty decent quarterback.
I thought Cleveland made a big mistake lass like trying
to flex him a little too much. You send three
or four in, you too them in the pocket, and
you make him a throwing quarterback. That's the way too,

(20:49):
to longevity and success against the Baltimore radios. You like it.
That's this whole nonsense. If he can play and get
eight or nine great years and win a Super Bowl
or two for Baltimore, that could be I'm really good
for nobody's asking him to play and be Tom Brady

(21:10):
and all. Do you project that way about other people?
I mean saying that that's fine. This is guy special,
dangerous guy who's only into a second full season, and
people are so down on him. They pick anybody, And
I think you're overstating how many people are down. Totally
distance panties all bunched up, you're uncomfortable to that's all, Keith.

(21:33):
This is the second straight time you've called in and
agree with me, So I think he's ready to move
to Bruce R. Keith, he's done with Parker Keith. You
need what you call it, You need a double dose
key whatever met you're ready to come over. You get on.
You get on the round world and stay off the flat.

(21:55):
Sure you speaking of that? Right? Do you know what
they put as a and and again? I like Kyrie?
But did you did you see one of the nicknames
that they have on you know, Pro Basketball Reference they have,
you know, the players nicknames and all that. Did you

(22:15):
see what they have for Kyrie? When I think it's
on there? But it's what it's going around. Uh, instead
of you know, world be free, World be flat, World
be freely is not? It is one there? World be Flat.
That's one of his nicknames on there. Ankletaker. I like that.

(22:39):
They got Uncle Drew Ankletaker and world be flat, World
be Flat is hilarious. That is hilarious. But Ankletaker is nice.
I like that one. All right. We got Charlie Castle
coming up. We'll get more into this big game last
night with him and more around the NFL. That's next.
But first, Fox sports Radio has the best sports talk

(23:01):
lineup in the nation. Catch all of our shows at
foxsports radio dot com. And within the iHeartRadio app search
f SR to listen live. We got our next guest.
He's a former NFL general manager and an NFL network analysts.
It's always fun to have him on our man, Charlie Castley, Charlie,
how are you, hey, guys? How you doing doing? Are

(23:25):
you all right? Hey? I'm doing great too. That's up.
It's kind of an exciting thing you got going with
those top athletes. Huh. It is interesting. It is interesting,
and we don't Rob and I do not know the
list either, so we're we're finding out just as everybody
else does. But it's a lot of fun, a lot
of fun too. Watching that game last night, Classic, I

(23:46):
felt like you learned a lot about both quarterbacks. I
actually think, Charlie, that Baker answered more questions for me
that than Lamar did. I mean, Lamar was great, but
I think I didn't doubt he could do something like that,
But I thought Baker showed that he might be for real.
What what's your take? Yeah, I felt the same way.

(24:07):
I didn't see all of the game. I was working
on another project for NFL Network, and uh, but what
I did that that's what I thought about Baker. He
stepped up because every time Baltimore jumped ahead, and and
Baltimore would jump ahead on odd plays if you will, okay,
whereas Cleveland had to do the old matriculated town the

(24:27):
field deal. And I thought Baker stepped up a lot.
And uh uh And he played well, I believe the
week before too. So you know, he's best out of
the pocket, that's what he does best. But he did
make some really good throws inside the pocket last night,
so that was a real plus. It was a great game.
It was like a fifteen round fighter, just kept going
back and back now and and that was the big

(24:48):
knock on on Lamar is if you get behind, you
can't he can't get you back, you know, because you
got to throw the ball and you can't just run it.
Uh But but last night he brought them back twice
in those final two drives. Charlie was five for five
throwing the football and of course through the big touchdown.
What do you think of his performance, especially late in

(25:08):
the game after his bathroom break or whatever that was, anyway,
that's right. Uh, Well, he made big plays running and passing,
But Lamar was Lamar. It was kind of a breakdown
street football and make plays. I mean Cleveland defensively, there's
two things that hit me. And without watching the game tape,

(25:30):
I can't be as sure as I'd like to be.
But I'm not sure about their plan. Okay, last night,
that's one. But I also think maybe maybe the plan's
problem was their linebackers, because to play Lamar, your linebackers
are critical, okay, and to play Lamar your safeties are critical,
and they're banged up in the secondary. So you know,

(25:52):
some of the problems I had last night I think
dealt with who they were playing with. U and Lamar
did make the players when it counted, but Lamar was
being Lamar. He improvised and made great plays. Do you
see enough too? I mean a lot of people had
Baltimore going to the Super Bowl or at least, you know,
being maybe second best to Kansas City in the AFC.

(26:15):
Do you see them? I know it's one game, but
kind of trending in that direction? Or does that defense
scare you if you're if you're a Ravens fan, Well,
I think the biggest question that I would do is
if I was analyzing that game, is I'd want to
look at that Baltimore defense forty two points. Now, when

(26:35):
I did them a couple of weeks ago, there were
people showed there was a way to run. You run
at the bubble, you run at the linebackers inside, and
you get outside by cracking back on their outside defenders
who are responsible to continue. That's where teams had success there. Uh.
Peters is a guy that people are exposing because he'll
guess sometimes and there's a way to get to him.

(26:59):
So and they've been hanged up a little bit in
the secondary and they still are so. Uh, some things
have gotten exposed on them. But forty two points is
a lot of points, now, Okay, yeah, no doubt. Charlie.
Of course the name of has showed the odd couple.
So Chris and I are of course on opposite side.
When it comes to who is the MVP of the

(27:20):
season so far, Chris says, Mahomes, I say Rogers, Who
do you say? You know? I would go with Rogers
and and and it's it's obviously it's a great question
and only answers that we're gonna have, We're gonna be
correct answers. Um, we don't care what the people, but
we got the right answers. That's right, But but Butterfly,
look at the rest of the team. Okay, I think

(27:43):
Kansas City has got a better team than Green Bay,
and Kansas City has better receivers. Amaron Jillies is a
better running back. The running backs aren't bad though. For
Kansas City. Kansas City has a better tight end um
who I've already said, better receivers, Kansas City has a
better defense. So I think Rogers. If I'm picking Rogers

(28:04):
and Mahomes, I think Rogers is is ahead of him.
Some people, let me just follow up. Some people were
writing him off, even me and Bucky Brooks got into it.
He was saying that Rogers was finished basically, and that
he should finish his career in Chicago. How surprised are
you with the bounce back a year that he's had

(28:24):
when some people were down on him after Matt Lafloy's
first year. Yeah, I wasn't down on him because I
threw it. He got better at the end of the year.
And when I spoke to Green Bay in the offseason,
I says, give me Rogers, and they said he's gonna
be better. I said, why, he knows the system. His
reads will be faster and quicker, the ball will come

(28:45):
out quicker. And they says, we saw it at the
end of the year, and so if and that's what
I said on the air, I said, this is what
the expect of him, and and they were right. They're absolutely,
we're right on him. So sometimes players have birth I mean,
Brett Farve had one in Green Bay. I mean it
was a period it looked like, well maybe it's best

(29:05):
team moves on and in banging, he took him up,
you know, within one play of the Super Bowl. I
believe that year. So you know, it can happen to
older quarterbacks to it. You know, Philip Rivers here at
times has looked better than he did last year. He's
got a better team with them. So Charlie, what do
you I mean? I think everyone was shocked by Philadelphia's

(29:27):
performance against New Orleans. But let's let's center on Jalen Hurts.
I see a lot of I mean, obviously, physically he's
a solid thrower, but not a great passer. Can make
plays with his legs, but he's not Lamar Jackson or
Kyler Murray or somebody like that. He reminds me a
lot of Dak Prescott. As far as a leader, kind

(29:48):
of a winner, a guy that's full of the intangibles.
What do you see in him? And you know, how
do you think this thing? They're handling this thing right
now with him and wins the Dak won his interesting.
Dak improved consistently. I think Dak, but Dak had more

(30:11):
rep seed than this guy did, So Dak was ahead
of him as a rookie. But that's probably not a
fair thing. I liked his poise, that was number one.
His poise in the pocket is what stood out to me.
Now I agree with you on a passer. He's not
the most accomplished guy, but he does have a quick
release in an arm and can make all the throws consistency.
As a fact, I thought they caught. You can never

(30:32):
tell what a team's mindset is going in and sometimes
you play to the level of the player you're playing
you think you're playing against. I thought that jailing and
he says the game plan kept him off balance as
far as quick throws, moving him in the pocket, play
action run pass option, and then him taking off the
end of the first half. The two biggest plays he

(30:53):
makes the runs. So I think they just kept New
Orleans off balance. I don't think that's going to happen
going for it. I think people will defend his runs
and try to get him to win from the pocket,
and then we'll see how he does there and give
him some pressure up the middle and do it that way.
So he's a spark. They reacted. They didn't score a
lot of points to give the defense credit there, and

(31:16):
Taysom Hill kind of you know, didn't play as well
as he's playing. So it's a combination of a lot
of things. Like Doug Peterson said, but poise impressed me.
For the young man, Charlie. Last thing. We got one
minute to go. I think Big Ben is done washed.
You know, I'd rather have Uncle Ben under center. Where
are you on Ben Roethlisberger at moving forward? You know,

(31:41):
I get what they're doing. The ball comes out quick,
he's not going to get hit short game run after
the catch. Teams to me have caught up with that.
They don't have a true guy you have to build
your coverage around like Tyree Hill. It opens up everything else.
They don't have that tight end that can be the
big threat. So I think people have caught up to

(32:03):
what they can do. And I don't think Ben's got
anybody who can stretch the field. So maybe some of
it's Ben, some of it's the players they have. I
think they did a great job to get to eleven.
And oh and they don't have a running game, so
defenses can defend them pretty easily. I think I thought
Ben was playing very well at the beginning of the season.

(32:23):
Does he look not as good because of what I
just described. That's probably part of it too. So Charlie Castley,
great stuff, Charlie. We appreciate it as always. All right,
greaty with you guys. Yeah, weak now you two more

my man. It is the eye couple keeping you in
the Christmas spirit TISHERT style. And I got a question

(33:05):
for you before we get into this next topic. Are
you dealing with a dead battery? I've dealt with them before,
and you know what I do. I don't even think
twice now I head to all those ons. So America's
number one battery destination. That's all I need to know.
But maybe you need more, Maybe you need more information
or here it is. All those on offers free battery services,

(33:26):
things like free battery testing, free battery charging. Who does that.
I'm telling you, next time you have battery trouble, you
got ahead to all those own it. Really, trust me.
There's pretty much one on every corner. Your battery solution
and America's number one battery destination. It's all those on

(33:46):
all right, rob there is Look, Miami's having a nice season.
They had a nice game with my aunt, I'm sorry,
with Kansas City on Sunday. Yeah, Kansas City one and
and uh, you know, Pat Mahomes did his thing obviously,
had three interceptions, two of them really early, and bounced

(34:08):
back to still throw for three hundred ninety three yards
two touchdowns in the victory to a Tunga Viola three
hundred sixteen yards, passing two touchdowns one I and T
and again he kept it close. But some people are
taking it at tad too far now. Mahomes was very

(34:28):
complimentary of tah after the game, talked about how you
know he's kind of wise beyond his years, and you know,
he thinks he's got a bright future, as I think
he's got a bright future. But some people rob are
taking it a bit too far and saying that Mahomes
ta could be the NFL's next great rivalry like Manning

(34:54):
Brady or something like this. I'm just gonna give you
the floor. As with everything that we do nowadays, Chris
is just premature, that's all. I just I get it.
They're both in the AFC. It was I didn't think
that Miami was gonna beat the Chiefs, but the game

(35:15):
was closer than maybe we thought it was gonna be,
and he put up some decent numbers. But this is
where we are. We heard this, remember after the Hail Murray,
Cliff Kingsbury went on and talked about exchanging MVPs between
Mahomes and Kyler Murray. I mean like, like now you

(35:36):
could laugh Chris, but at that time, yeah, that's where
people Yeah, that's obviously that's an overstatement, but yeah, people
were putting him in the same sentence as Pat Mahon.
It was ridiculous. Seriously, we both said it then, like what, like,
what are you talking about? You almost lost to Buffalo
in that game. Buffalo. Dude, the Buffalo. If it's not

(35:58):
for that, flow could be eleven and two, Chris, I
mean in Arizona would have been on a five game
losing exactly. I mean. But but I'm just saying all
this stuff is all premature. I get it. They want
to try to come up with an idea. I can't
remember whose column we read Chris that words in all notes,
but even he hedged, you know, in the column. So

(36:21):
I'm just like, if you're gonna hedge on it, you
shouldn't write it, right. Yeah, as you said, it's it's obviously.
I mean, this is staying in the obvious. It was
wildly premature. Now Miami's eight and five and they're having
a nice year, and I liked to and I think
he should be the one plane right now instead of

(36:42):
Ryan Fitzpatrick. But I gotta be honest. If Ryan Fitzpatrick
was still the starter, I think they'd be eight and five.
I mean, Fitzpatrick was playing fine, right, we know he's
not the future. His bubble was bound to burst at
some point, and we know, right he always told you
to a pumpkin at something. Yeah, but it's not My

(37:03):
point is there are a lot of young guys that
I could point to that you could even say, you'd
point to them ahead of Tuta if you were going
to say this is going to be Pat Mahomes rival.
Obviously you got Lamar, but some people apparently are treating
him like he's an old guy now. But how about

(37:24):
Joe Burrow. I mean, couldn't that become the rivalry he got?
And he's in the AFC Chris right right before he
got hurt. You can see he could play even though
they weren't winning games in Cincinnati. But there's no doubt
that kid who everybody questioned because when he had the
one big year in college, I'm sorry, the dude can play.

(37:46):
He's leg had. He had the greatest college football quarterback
season ever. I mean, and you know who I think
has proven more than even him in the NFL, justin
Herbert with the Chargers. I mean, that dude is the truth.
It looks like so far, and I think what he
does like, I don't see any reason he can't continue

(38:07):
to do it. And so you could point to several
guys instead. How about Deshon Watson, who I know isn't
what we call young anymore, but he still is obviously young.
You know what I'm saying, Like quickly, he's like dumb. Now,
oh my gosh, and he's rob he's having a great year.
Yeah they're not winning much, they're four nine, but it

(38:28):
ain't because of Deshon Watson. He is playing great football.
And so to put to ahead of all of those guys,
that's just crazy. Hey, I want to clarify something because
we're talking about it and Danny from my Instagram. Remember
I said that Pat had to five interceptions. Remember that

(38:48):
game we were talking about the Rams against the ram Holmes.
It was three picks and two fumbles. He had five
turn Okays, I think I said five interceptions, right turn,
Thanks Danny. All right, it's the eye couple. We got
an hour left. You know what to do. Keep it
locked right here. Fox Sports Radio, Chris and Robb
