(00:25):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio. I love it? Who
love it? What aren't? Would that be named one of
your aunts? Who would be like that? Christa? My aunts
that were at the reunion? I lived limb uh well
(00:47):
two at Liz Was I really on Viv and I
lanliv Or for Olivia? That was it? Yeah? It was
uh yeah, that was it today. And I got an
anti Marsha to when I lived within La Auntie Marsha.
You might have met her, did you meet that? I
didn't meet her, but she lived in South Central right,
yeah right. I used to be down there hangings with
the right. You know that they would see christ and
(01:11):
thinking with his bloods and yeah right they thought he
was he was a five old when Christen walked around
because he was so like yo, I got mad. Respect
up in there. Please they knew, they knew I got
mad respec. Who's that white guy walking around here on
Crunshaw Tiger Ya, it wasn't. Brother lived right next door.
(01:38):
Had when you know, one of the cars then I
think it wasn't Empola when it was who souped up
you know with the hydraulics stuff. Yeah yeah, and he
was about our age really yeah yeah, but it was
one of the giver left right. Yeah. Yeah, it's guys
like that. But I lived to Chris. I lived on Crenshaw.
(01:58):
You were that you were in the uppity part, but
you were weren't you in Ladera Heights? No, that really
wasn't really was right near the ball right like me.
I was right near the ball Ye, there you go,
right there. I was nearing the mall. I was in
the valley. No, but look La, and I know La
(02:19):
cats ain't gonna like this, and I'm not, you know,
they tough. No, Christ La is like got palm trees
stuck on homes. But it looks nice. Don't come on, well,
well you don't have like you don't have like in
New York where you have you know, like I don't
(02:42):
know forty snow you know apartment that are you know, projects?
And I'm like intimidating Chris that you're gonna go walking
down on the elevator. Is different, man, And it's not
just New It's the East coast, the Midwest, the South.
Like you know when oh I read watch my Back,
I'm in the you know what I mean, I'm in
the area. I don't know LA. I'm not saying they
(03:04):
don't have little tough parts, but it's a lot of
nice sunshine and you know that. Yeah, yeah, just saying,
just saying when we come after me. When we both
came to La though, we both stayed with the odds.
That was the thing that was like crazy, right right,
all right, I guess we might not be the odd
(03:25):
couple and everything well that was the only thing, right,
all right. We started with Drakemond. We do agree on
this that come on, I look, I got mad respect
for dre Um, but no, no, you're not getting an extent.
He's probably rob g how many Max deals had Dramond had?
(03:45):
Enough is the answer, But it must be two. Right
at thirty two years old, he's probably had two roughly
Max deals. That's good, bro, And he's gotta not rob
A nice career in front of him as a broadcaster
podcast or whatever. I'm sure the volumes paying him nicely.
Maybe maybe he might though he might that may Colin
(04:08):
might want to watch out because if Draymond wants max
money from the Warriors, he might want max money from
the volume. I did send out a little clip that
we just had that Elijah put on social media. I
did send it to Colin personally. I want to hear
hear it. I did, yes, yes, yes, but we'll see
all right, um, rob let us get to this because
(04:31):
there's plenty of stuff going on. Mike Trout deally. Now
he has been banged up. You actually mentioned it yesterday
how somebody I forgot who it was. You were talking
with somebody and they brought up his injuries or was
it maybe it was a caller and they said, if
it was talking today, right, that's right, that's right in
(04:53):
another sport, or maybe it was another to get to
pass right, yeah? That people never kind of come down
on him. He's always been hurt lately. He's been banged
up a lot lately, thirty six games last year, and
now he has what they're saying is a it's a
trainer saying it's a rare back condition, a spinal condition
(05:16):
that he may have to deal with for the rest
of his career rot and it led to kind of
his injury where he's out now. It kind of made
his ribs inflamed right rib playing rib cage inflammation due
to the back. Though now he's saying he's fine. He's
saying his career is not over, and I don't I
(05:38):
don't think it's over. I don't see anybody projected that
right right, but that he said that. But here's what
is the trainer said, this is a pretty rare condition
that he has right now in his back. The doctor,
who's Robert Watkins, the third, who is one of the
most well known spine surgeons in the country, if not
the world, doesn't see a lot of these, he says,
(06:01):
And for it to happen to a baseball player, we
just have to take into consideration what he puts himself
through with hitting, swinging on a daily basis just to
get prepared, and then also playing in the outfield, diving
for balls, jumping into the wall, things like that. There's
so many things that can aggravate it. But this doctor
hasn't seen a lot of it. So's before we go,
(06:23):
here's trout. I got back and my phone was blowing up.
My career is over. It's just rare for a baseball player.
I just have to stay on top of it. So
I don't know, right, I don't like that news. I
gotta be no, no, not when it's rare and it
doesn't happen often. But I think this is the bigger
(06:44):
blow to Mike Trout. No one saying his career is over.
But I think Chris, with this news and what's going
on the last couple of years, with him trying to
be healthy and whatnot, I think most people will never
I'll take him out of that conversation of thinking, ay,
he's the best player in the game and be he'll
(07:07):
be the best player in the game when it's all said,
because that's what people were saying. You remember, they were
trying to give him an MVP when Miguel Cabrera had
a triple crown, the first one in like forty years,
you know what I mean. Like, that's how much the
the stat geeks and the analytics people love what Mike
Trout does and he is a tremendous player. But Chris,
(07:31):
we got to ask ourselves right now, is he even
the best player on his team right now. No, you
say old Tanny, Absolutely absolutely, I say old Towny. I'm
with you, Rob, I let's the Mike Trout's the best
player ever. Let it has derailed, right, it's asolutely it
(07:53):
is absolutely derailed. And I'm gonna throw something else out there, Rob.
And look, you know I beat the drum that in baseball,
unlike football for quarterbacks, it's homelike basketball for stars. I
don't hold you know, team's success or lack thereof, against
the superstar because it's just too hard, right, like you,
(08:16):
you can't. I don't care if Shoan Shoe ha O
Tany is doing pitching and hitting, he can't affect it. Yeah,
it's just too many other factors in baseball to blame
one player. You and I both have said. We get
the allegations and what actually probably did happen, But Barry
(08:37):
Bonds best player I've ever seen, right, I'm with you
that I've ever seen. And he didn't have a ring
and you know, not a lot of Chris in the
year that they went to the World Series in two
thousand and two, when the Giants lost to the end,
I covered that that World Series, Bart, go look it up.
Barry Bonds and they lost. But the bullpen couldn't hold
(08:59):
the lead, right, So you look at it and go,
what else could Bonds have done? He had five hundred
in that World Series, right, right, So so I'm on
board with that, but I I don't know, I'll say this.
I just also think I maybe I'm contradicting myself, but
(09:20):
a little bit of success, not a ring, not a ring,
but a little bit of success. He's been the one
the playoffs one time, and that was eight years ago,
a little bit rob and played in what three playoff game?
One of the three game series. I think he's only
got ye can you be the best ever? With that
(09:44):
limited of a postseason? Sit there? And again, I get it,
I might be wrong. I'm not I'm not like getting
on my soapbox yelling this from the rooftops. I'm just wondering,
like when we talk about the absolute best ever, I
don't think I can go there with him, not just
(10:05):
because of the injuries. And I agree with you there
that that has to stop right now, but maybe I
mean just not lifting the team in any way to
any type of success. Route. No, you're right, and I'll
give you an example Chris, here we go. Ted Williams
is one of the greatest hitters who ever swung a bat, Right,
we all agree with that. The last guy to bat
(10:26):
four hundred bat at four h six in a regular
season Well, yeah, okay, four or six, Chris, I'm gonna
give you his postseason status. You ready, seven games? Ted
Williams hit two hundred with five hits, one RBI, two
runs scored in seven post games in this postseason game.
(10:51):
That's it postseason game, Chris, that's it seven. But and
Ted Williams's defense, and you were talking about a you
can't always affect it. During his era, there were no playoffs, right.
There were twelve teams in the American League, twelve teams
in the National League, Chris, and the number one team,
(11:13):
right with the best record. There were no divisions, that
was it. They went straight. So when the Yankees went
to the World Series eight times in ten years in
the fifties, they had the best regular season record. There
was no postseason, right, And that's why you look at
Ted Williams. It's hard to knock him totally when you
(11:35):
can't get in. But in the case of Trout, there
are wild cards. Chris there's all kinds of things to
get you in the postseason, and he's only been in
the once, right, and as great as Ted Williams was
rob and we all know he's arguably the best hitter ever, right, yeah,
arguably why he has his name? You correct me if
(11:58):
I'm wrong. You're more of a baseball his story. And
why has his name continued to be on our lips
despite that lack of postseason success. I think it's I
think it's the four or six nobody, I mean, and
it wouldn't have been you know, it wouldn't have been
anyone't a great. It's the four H six, there's no
(12:19):
just like Astor Robertson, it was the triple double, right,
it's the four H six. That's it. So trial hasn't
done that. Obviously, you won't do that. I mean, nobody
probably will do that again. And so this legendary Chris
I could be wrong, and I hate that I'm throwing
aside without looking at it, but I think Ted Williams
(12:39):
had a chance to sit down so that he wouldn't,
you know, like the last like well, and he played Chris,
and he played like he could have said, oh you
got you're over four hundred, just missing with k risk
and dropping it yea, and didn't do it right and
still played, And people, I respect for that that he
didn't as soon as you got the four hundred, I'm
(13:00):
not playing because he had enough at bats to qualify
obviously without missing, even with missing those games. Yeah, and
this is not beating up on Trout, but this is
something he can't control, right, But I do think all
of that has to be a factor. And I just
you know, he's a great player. I'm fine, and it's
just true, all time great check. Obviously a Hall of
(13:24):
Famer first ballot check ye. One of the best to
ever do it, check, but best player ever. The injuries
and the lack of any postseason success whatsoever consistently, I
can't go there. I cannot go there. And so we're
(13:46):
on the same page with that, Rob. I think we
need to kill that noise for the time being about
Mike Trout being, you know, maybe the goat baseball player.
All right, you're turning away in eight seven, seven ninety
nine on Fox eight seven seventy nine, nine six sixty three,
sixty nine, has Mike Trout been eliminated at least with
the time being from the goat conversation. All right, and
(14:11):
do you like robbing eyes reasoning the injury now and
actually lately and the lack of consistent even multiple postseason appearances.
You'll turn away with Chris and Rob the Eye Couple

Auto Zone. It's your battery solution and the number one
battery destination in these United States of America. Eight seven,
seven ninety nine On Fox, you'll turn the way in
with Christ and Rob. Mike Trout, does the goat talk
(16:02):
need to stop now that he's been battling injuries lately?
And um just hasn't had much all right, even two
times trips to the postseason? Right? And and Chris, real quick,
I send it to your phone. I don't know if
you saw it. I remember I told you send Colin
the the our little take. He send a laughing emoji,
(16:24):
so he thought it was twenty eight seven seven ninety
nine On Fox, Let's go to Brandon in Seattle. You're
on the odd couple of Fox Sports Radio. What up beat? Hey,
what's happening guys? How are you I'm doing great, man.
I just wanted to say, it's just I love listening
to your show, and you guys have the best show.
And I go to sleep every night listening to your podcast.
(16:47):
Thank you buddy. Yeah, like I ended up waking up
to the World Series, so like it's it's going on
the whole night. But yeah, no, I love you guys
and shout out Emmett and Olympia. I I'm in Seattle,
so okay blind Emmett. Um but yeah, Trout, I think
if he retired today, all time great for sure. Um Uh.
(17:08):
I think he's right there with Mantel, William Mays and Griffy.
I'm he's not better than them. But when I'm when
I'm judging baseball players, I'm really just looking at talent.
You know what are they capable of doing? Can they
do everything? And you know what, let's say that I
mentioned in the same breath. Yeah, Brandon Brendon, let me
say this to you, ask you, if Ken Griffey didn't
(17:31):
have those three and a half injury played years in Cincinnati,
Chris he people would be saying that he's the greatest
play where he played, right, he still had he almost
had seven hundred home runs and he had three and
a half bad years numbers wise, because he was hurt.
And you talk about a guy whose career rear was
absolutely derailed. Yes, no doubt right, he might be viewed
(17:54):
as the goat. There's no he would have been the
first player, uh you know, uh of the modern guys
to get over seven hundred. You know, with uh Hank,
Aaron and baby U. He would have been. He was
on that track. Absolutely. Yep, Brandon, we appreciate the support
in Seattle. Uh, thanks so much. And let's talk to
(18:15):
Kenneth in San Antonio. You're on the odd couple of
Fox Sports Radio. What up, Kenneth? Hey guys, Hey, what
I was What's everything I've been listening to about? You know,
this baseball topic with Mike Trout being yes, you know,
supposedly not not the the best player or not in
the conversation anymore because of injuries. You know, the first
(18:37):
thing that I think of is he's playing the game
the way it's supposed to be played. He's a he's
a regular human. You know. You start talking about guys
from the past like Bonds and McGwire and Sosa and
a Rod and all them, guys they cheated, but that's
the reason. First of all, we also to bring up
(18:58):
Jeter in that era, right, But yeah, the guys before
that weren't cheating. Now we we've talked about, right, they
were using amphetamans and on that. But Greeny, yes, let's not.
But you can't do anything right. You can't throw that
on Willie Mays and Hank Aaron Peed. You can't lump
them in with Bonds and those guys. So no, you
(19:18):
got and we're talking about all time great. We didn't
bring up McGuire and those shots in turns of all
time great stop it hits, you know, obviously for reasons
outside of themselves. But no doubt. We got Danny in Houston.
You're on the odd couple Fox Sports Radio. What up, Danny?
(19:38):
What's going on? Guys? Man? Mike Trout is the most
overraded player at any sport at any let Wow, despite
his numbers, Danny, what did I say that? I say, well, uh,
let's see for starters, he's got fifteen hundred hits and
fourteen hundred stricouts. That's terrible. Yeah, but that's an era
(20:01):
we're in though. Now like that, strikeouts are acceptable I'm
not making an excuse because you know, like Gary Sheffield's
not in the hold on Danny. I want to say this, Chris,
Gary Sheffield, Chris had had more hits than strikeouts, Like
like Gary Sheffield didn't strike out. Yeah, it's over five
(20:23):
home runs. But of course he's linked with bonds, so
that's why he's not there. But I'm saying now, so
the strikeouts are acceptable. They are right, they're acceptable. And
Trout's on base percentage has always been great even though
he you know, strikes out like and I get the
value of putting the ball in play yea um, but
you know, base garding average has always been good. So
(20:46):
that's a decent point. But you're right, robbing today's era.
They don't really care about that. They don't. That's like,
if you gotta make an out, they'd rather you swing
for the fence, Chris, rather than hit a weak groundball
to third base. What's the difference is there? Like it's
an owl. Yep. We got Fouler Fair with JR. Gamble
coming up. But first, Fox Sports Radio has the best
(21:07):
sports talk lineup in the nation. Catch all of our
shows at Fox sports radio dot Com and within the
iHeartRadio app search f SR to listen live. All right,
it is the Eye Couple. Thank you guys. Man, We're
live from the Fox Sports Radio studios. It's time for
foul Affair with our man JR. Gamble of MLB bro
(21:31):
dot com. It was a big week in the Big League.
Who's who's a five? Is it foul or is it fair?
And now from MLB bro dot com here's JR. Gamble.
Excuse me, that's right, it is fouler fair here on
the y Couple, Fox Sports Radios saying where we go
(21:52):
around the diamond to discuss all the biggest headlines in
Major League Baseball. In order to do so properly, we
had to bring in a real baseball expert, the star
of the Inside the Parker podcast, the only segment I
tuned into. As a matter of fact, I'll look at
that unbelievable. I never missed the other part, none other
than j R. Gamble other woman once fellas is no
(22:16):
place on earth I'd rather be than with Big Rob
and Super Big Chris. Tell everybody where you are real
quickly and what you're doing, because this is this is great.
Well right now, I'm sitting on the side of the
road because I didn't want to miss my radio show. Um,
but I met the Hank Aaron Invitational in Vero Beach, Florida,
(22:38):
where one hundreds of the best you know, black and
brown and minority baseball players in the country between the
ages of sixteen and at had come down here for
a week to showcase and learn from the game, like
Ken Griffy Senior, Clangery Junior, really, Randolph, Eric Davis. Uh
you great, including I've never even hurt. I didn't even
(23:01):
know about that. Yeah, including my godson, uh Jr's son
jac is down there, Chris. He's one of the players.
He's a good player, and he's at the Hank Aaron
And it's a great thing that baseball has done the
last number of lbs behind that. Yeah, this is great,
that's great, fantastic. Well, let's get to some current baseball news.
(23:24):
I got three questions going around the diamond, Jr. Get
to start the segments. You get first ups at every
single one of him. For question number one, Marritors All
Star Julio Rodriguez hit a home running his first game
back since the break, and he hit another one today
off the score bro which was unreal. Did you see that,
and he probably the MLB dot Com to call him
quote must see TV. Now, this one's pretty subjective. Here's
(23:45):
the question, giving his electric style of play and his
overall skill set JR. Foul or fair to say that
Jay Rod is the most exciting young player in the
American League. It's fair, it's a fair ball. Um, he's
a he's a very good young player. Um, he's definitely,
I say, hit the ground running. Um. You know some
(24:07):
people that they're very enamored with, you know, exhibitions like
home run Hitting Contest, and they tend to add to
the mistique of certain players. Uh, musty TV. I don't
know best most exciting player probably, I mean I saw
Ricky Henderson playing Dave went, Bill, Kenny Lofton, DALs Strawberry,
a plethora of guys who with thirty, thirty, even forty forty,
like Garry Bonds, A Rods whose they can say, go
(24:30):
that's must see TV. But I will say, um, he's
the most exciting player right now. I guess in the
American League. Seventeen homers twenty one feels that definitely screens electric.
But I'm not quite gonna call him must see TV yet.
We tend to anoint two soon as I can't do
that after fifty games. I'm gonna say foul. I like
(24:51):
him a lot. I like him a lot, but I'm
going with Vlad Junior. And I know he's not gonna
steal the basis and all that, but had anyone stolen Bay.
I'm from the era when they stole ninety, all right,
so don't give me that. I'm going with Lad Junior.
I mean, you know the home right, come on, I
gotta watch him when he's at the plate. So I
(25:13):
asked where I'm at. Does old Tani not count because
I think it's foul as well. Well he's twenty. What
I want to say, is he too old? I'm asking Rob.
I didn't count him, that's why. Okay, all right, that's fair.
I just think, uh, I am with Chris about or
(25:36):
to say, JayR about annointing people really quickly. You know,
in a number of games, we gotta see our plays out.
He's great to watch. Now. I'm not trying to pooh
poo it um, but I'm gonna say, let's pump the
brakes just a little bit, all right, we keep it moving.
Story number two Madison Bumgardner a little bit of a
(25:57):
chap ass. To be honest with him. Did he cause
National's outfield Victor Robles a clown for pimping the home
running hit on Saturday? So on Sunday, Robless showed up
to the dugout with the red clown nose on his face. Jr. Question,
very easy, foul or fair to say exchanges like this
are good for baseball fare that's a fair ball. I
(26:19):
mean I thought that was awesome. You know a young
dude who's coming up letting an honorary old head. Know
that your client doesn't affect me. Get me out if
you don't like me climping homers. Bum Gardner got showed up.
He didn't like it, and that happens when successful old
heads get shown up. They always want to go back
to the house. Someone's disaffecting the game. Blah blah. Robles
(26:41):
handled it like a true ge. Is great for baseball.
I mean he's a winner for that one. Like rob
would say, bum Guardner needs to retire it so we
could sit at home and yell, three kids, get over
my lord. I'm gonna say fair. It's good for the game.
But the way roblists handled it. I don't agree, and
(27:03):
I think that's why Dave Martinez came down Chris, if
you want to, you know, do something, uh pre game
would have clown nose on, but you can't wear a
clown nose during the game in the dugout. I'm a woman.
I think Dave Martinez was right to say that's not cool,
(27:24):
you know what I mean. You gotta respect the game.
Once we're in the game, you can't be doing that.
And I think, and I know Dave he didn't. He
didn't enjoy that or think that that was the right
place to do it. Before the game, it would have
been great. I'm gonna go fair, but I agree when
you rob it almost it's almost too self deprecating once
(27:46):
the game starts. Say like, why are you doing that
during the game? Yeah, Like I like it before the game.
And guys, I do think. I don't. I don't think
just wearing the clown nose, but also pipping the home run,
I think all of that's good for baseball, right, because
what is it that people are so into with the NBA. Yeah,
the game is what it is, but I mean it's
(28:08):
the personalities, it's the drama, right, So I think the
more that baseball allows that stuff to happen, I think
the better for the game. So yeah, I definitely think
it's fair, all right. Last one Fouler Fair here on
the odd couple of Fox Awards Radio JR. Gampleman Wuvie
bro with the Fellas sticking with those Nationals CBS Sports
(28:31):
without a column raaking the most likely landing spots for
superstar Juan Soto, and they determined that the Cardinals are
the team best position to get them. JR. Fowler Fair
say that the Cardinals, not the big pocketed Dodgers or
the Yankees, will be Soto's next team their ball. It
(28:52):
baffles me, but it happens in the NBA and now
the NFL, like any where anywhere that Tom Brady plays them.
Fans want to see the rich get richer and see
stack teams dominate. People know the Yankees aren't shelling out
that kind of money anymore. Maybe ten years ago it
would have been a no brainer, but the sign Brenners
don't get down like Daddy did, and then way more frugal.
The Dodgers already have a band of offars, Like, how
(29:14):
many more offstars do you need? So bringing in one
more probably wouldn't have hurt. But you think Magic and
those guys who have spent more money than gods over
them eight years trying to win the World Series, would
you know, be trying to tighten up the pockets a
little bit. So the Cardinals being a flagship NLB team,
they need another star. Soda would probably be a benefit there,
(29:34):
and they don't spend like the other teams, so this
would be one of those rare fines for the Cardinals,
who could use a boost. That I'm with JR. I
think it's fair. Yeah. I mean, look, the Yankees better
bring back Judge and when after they spend all that money,
I mean, I don't think they're going after so Thou
(29:55):
and so Yeah. The Dodgers, You're right, come on, you
got enough to get it done. You don't have to
keep adding guys, especially not bats. So I am with him.
The Cardinals they are you know they're not. They are legitimate, awesome,
all time great flagship franchise and they need a player
like Soto. So yeah, I'm with that. I'm gonna say
(30:19):
it's fair fall. And the reason I say it's fair
more has to do with what the Cardinals have. They
apparently have two of the best prospects in the minor leagues.
And that's what you want. If you're the Washington Nationally
have a third baseman and I can't remember the other
player if he's a shortstop or like, they have two
(30:40):
studs that you have to give up. You know, if
you're the Nationals, you want young guys who have star
potential and you'll control over the next six years. You know,
it's it's not just the money thing, because you could.
You know, you gotta get something that's gonna help your franchise.
So if you're the Nationals, you can start all over
with those guys. So I think the Cardinals, if they're
(31:02):
willing to part with those two prizes in the minor leagues,
will have a great chance. All right, that's valor fair, gentlemen.
Thank you, all right, thank you? Side drops tomorrow. Right,
that's right out, all right, Brittany Grinders. Some good news,
(31:23):
some good news. We'll get into that next. A couple
of Fox Sports Radio. Fox Sports Radio has the best
sports talk lineup in the nation. Catch all of our
shows at Fox sports Radio dot com and within the
iHeartRadio app. Search f SR to listen live and as
we thank the odd couple and the people all around
this beautiful world and worship on a Wednesday, we think
(31:45):
that time we have together as Crispus Start always takes
time off. Rob Parker's always traveling the world. Rob Ge
always likes to work from home, and I'm always on
the herd. So now back to you guys, and a
blessing day. Very accurate, very accurate. All right, Chris, go ahead,
We got two things I want to uptake ahead. First,
all right, well, we are the eye couple wrapping up
(32:06):
a worship Wednesday, and we gotta tell you this before
we go. We could talk about how complex and complicated
and just down right hard it is to redeem credit
card rewards with other banks, but it's easy when you
do it with Discovery Card. You can redeem your rewards
for cash and any amount at any time. It's amazing, folks,
(32:29):
simply amazing. You can learn more Discover dot com slash
Redeem rewards terms do apply. Chris, Max Scherzer was dealing.
I know you got the game. I got the game
on ye and they took him out after seven Chris
dealing stifling the Yankees and guess what Laboratorez with a
two run home run the opposite way at City Field
(32:52):
to tow tie. Now as they go to the bottom
of the eighth and sures, I don't know what the
pitch count was. I couldn't hear it where obviously doing
a radio show, so I don't know what to think
it was Chris, But he's pitching great and they took
him out right. It's frustrating, it is, And I think
here's the thing beyond and we've talked about this with
(33:15):
the analytics in general. Okay, that's at we get it,
that's a lie. But what this type of thinking does
is it takes away great moments. What if what if
Scherzia would have thrown a complete game rod shut out
right in the series against the freaking Yankees in a
(33:37):
subway series. That that's what you want. You want regular
season moment. And look, the analytics ride may tell you
that using seven to nine pitchers in a game one
per inning essentially right right, because the right right they're
(33:59):
all throwing ninety something to a hundred and they all
are fresh. That's more effective than having one guy goes
six or five innings and then another guy goes The
idea behind it is that those guys are fresh, pitching
only one inning or so rather than trying to pitch
the entire game. But that if that becomes the norm,
(34:20):
and I'm not saying it will, but if that, let's
just take it to that degree. If that became the norm, Rob,
is that good for baseball? It might be the most
effective way to do it. Maybe I don't know, but
maybe it's just what is that good for the freaking game?
It is entertainment. We do want stars, right, but we
(34:41):
want a guy that can throw a complete game. We
want a guy that's gonna strike out eleven or twelve guys.
We we want that. But you know what, just like
just like this thing about whether or not as good,
it's just like the shift. The shift is not good, Chris,
It's not good. It might be for the game and so,
but it ain't good for sure, but it ain't good
(35:01):
because we don't get as many base runners. And the
other news I saw a flash over. I don't know
if I heard that. In Gascon's update, Bubba Watson is
also joining you see that. I mean, it's just a
matter of time. Okay, there's so much money on the
table I think the PGA's crazy. But that's why I
said with Tiger, remember when he went off a couple
(35:23):
of weeks ago, or maybe it was last week. Um,
he's he's behind. Man, he's way behind on this. Uh.
And what they're gonna have next year. They're expanding the
fourteen events from eight, and it's gonna be uh four
hundred and five million dollars in prize money and the pregame. Right,
(35:51):
maybe if you Rob g look it up quickly, if
you can, what's the total prize money for the PGA Tour.
It's a good question. And so I look, I don't
blame Bubba. I mean, you know, he's obviously a guy
who's made his share of money. But still, I mean,
(36:12):
can you imagine you're playing golf and you're seeing all
these other guys just go out and play and they
don't have to make the cut, they don't have to
finish in the top ten, and they're getting paid. They're
getting one point three million just to play, just to play.
I'll take that any weekend. How are you not taking that? Absolutely?
(36:33):
You can't. You can't see if you can find that,
Robs Chris, I gotta hear. According to golf NewsNet dot com.
The total prize money across all of forty seven tournaments
is four hundred and eighty one million dollars. Wow. Forty
seven tournaments, Yes, and they're talking about fourteen tournaments? Will
five five four or five and fourtow? Wow? Like you said,
(36:56):
it's only a matter of time. And if they get Barkley,
it's over. That's a big thing. If they get Barkley.
That if they get Barkley, that will be huge. So
put him on the map to where people will be like,
what is going on here? Charles left tnt R the
NBA to do this. Where's Charles? I want to see
(37:18):
what's going on with this thing? And if they let
him just be him, which I'm sure they will, right,
it'll be fine. It'll be great. I just um, I
tell you what, if he weren't doing NBA games, and
I gotta believe and I know he's he said some
of the sponsors reached out to him somewhere upset. I'll
(37:39):
tell you what, Man, they'd be wise to let him
do both because that is a huge lost rod for
TNT If they don't, if they lose Charles body, absolutely
that show will not be there and there's nobody they
can get. They'll try. I mean, Drake mind still can't
replace him, one of those guys there, because even Knights
(38:01):
when he's not there, you know, when they got Wade
and crossed the same candid, No, even when they got
Kenny and Ernie and shot, it's not the same without Charles.
So it's gonna be interesting if he takes that money,
how this thing plays out. All right, a couple, We
are out, y'all, have a great night. Po
