Speaker 1 (00:01):
You're listening to Fox Sports. Pretty that would be Us Cavino,
Rich Spotty's here, Bobo's here, it was Danny g is here. Oh,
let's say, here's the show Fox Sports Sunday. I hope
you've had a great weekend. If not, we're gonna have
some fun tonight. That's what we do. We have fun

(00:21):
even if you had a crappy weekend. We're here to
bring the fund. That's what I'm saying. Hey, Rocky bo
bo is upset. We lost the legend. There's a fight
that's canceled. There's a trade deadline. There's a lot to
get through today, Buddy boy. Yeah, you said it, man,
you said it. Buster. But we hope you had a
Danny Garcia sort of weakest and Amanda now Nest sort
of weekend, a Deebo Samuel getting paid sort of weekend,

(00:42):
and we be rocking out. Let's go a seven seven
ninety nine on Fox. You want to chime in and
say hello, getting hit us up at Covino and Rich
spot and I the whole crew were here in l A,
the Mean Streets of l A. Rich hop along, Dickey
Davis was in Texas. Now he's in New York City.
This guy gets around. He's like Tupac Bro, he gets around.

(01:02):
I'm exactly like. I mean, same guy, same person. This
guy's like da Have Punk. He's around the world, bro,
never one place like car San Diego. Where is he? Yeah,
we're in the world. Is Dicky Doodle Davis? Well? I
mean Queens? Where the excitement for my New York Mets?
Where the Mets are? You know? Bringing it? So we'll
talk some baseball, We'll talk a little of everything, and uh,

(01:24):
I will say cavino East Coast food. I'm trying to
load up because once I come back to l A
in a few days, it's, uh, you know, it's back
to like average West Coast food. Fat. I hope you
get a big, big fluffy puffy face from all the
carbs you're reading, because that's what. Yeah, Because when I
go to eat into the East Coast and I visit

(01:45):
my mom, she's a car pusher. You know, she's a
treat and car pusher. Steven. Have some bagels with your bread,
eat some bread with your pasta, and your bagels and
your bread. Like Mom, enough with the pasta and the
bread and the car. Yeah, I come back. Yeah, she's
feeding me bagel spaghetti sandwiches, and I come back all
bloated and puffy and fatter than ever. So I wish

(02:06):
that on You got no fence. Yeah, that's just good.
That's what you get for being on the East Coast
eating East Coast bagels. And when I got here on Wednesday,
eat some bread with your pizza, Steven, I had a bacon,
egg and cheese, salt pepper catchup on a bagel, like
every East Coast of course, and then I said, you know,
let me have a couple of additional bagel. So add
that to my dad and I decided to watch the

(02:28):
subway series Mitch Yankees Wednesday night, and I counted because
I wanted to be ashamed of myself. I had eight
slices of Grandma pizza. It's embarrassing, but they're they're not big,
they're square. Right When in Rome, when in New York
eat like a slob. Alright, So riches on the East Coast,
we're on the West Coast, and let's let the wild

(02:49):
rumpest start. Okay. So the other day, I want to
backcheck a little bit. This is something that we've talked
about on Fox Sports Radio and on our Patreon. Okay,
but I got an update for you. How do you
handle this scenario? We call this bad ticket guy, bad
ticket guy, good friend, band ticket guy. Oh no, I
feel like Danny J's the type of guy that goes

(03:11):
to a lot of games. I'm very curious his opinion
and everyone else. So eight seven, seven nine nine on Fox,
it's like, all right, I'll just explain. We'll jump right
into it. You know, we went to a Mets Dodgers
game a few months back here in l A. And
we left our buddy Rob. I'll call him out. He's
a good guy. He knows I love him, but I'll
still call him out. We left our buddy Rob in

(03:33):
charge of getting the tickets, and he's like, I got it.
But he's always at concerts. He's always at shows. I
mean he's dude, is always buying tickets to events. He
works in the sports industry, so I feel like every
week he's at a game and a concert. He's a
big music fan, but a big sports fan. So it's
social media would indicate that this guy would be the

(03:53):
guy you'd want to leave in charge completely. So he's like, dude,
I got the tickets, I got a you know a
few tickets for the Mets Donder's game. We're like, all right,
how much. He's like, probably about a hundred fifty each,
Like damn a steep. He's like, seats are good man.
But when we get there, no, I gotta add. I
was scoping them out and I go Rob. We kick
at field level, probably like five or so rows behind

(04:16):
the Mets or Dodgers, dug out for about one fifties
like those are the ones that iron up. Don't worry now,
the only way you got to don't worry. Oh I
got the only way I could have. This really makes sense,
skies is is sometimes when you're picking your seats out
at a movie theater, there's confusion. You think you're getting
it further away from the screen, but you end up

(04:38):
buying it right in front of the screen, like I
had it opposite. I did not want to be in
the front row for Top Gun Maverick. That's why the
game changer in the online world. And not not every
stadium will do this, but the seat view when you're
like for for any like any sort of but it's not,
but it's it's close, and not every stadium does it,

(05:02):
and I don't know why, but the ones that do
it's clutch. But I thought, you know, I've done that
in the past. I thought I was buying tickets further
from the screen. I end up buying the ones closest
to the screen. And that's kind of what happened with
our buddy Rob at that Dodgers Mets game. We get
to the game and its richest for his daughter's first game,
you know, so he wanted it to be special. He
wanted to ensure we had good view, good seats, and

(05:23):
we get there he's like, dude, I don't know what happened.
These seats are not what I expected. I think I
had the chart backwards. When I was looking at the seats.
I thought we were closer. Instead we're further. And then
we get there, and of course we don't want to
complain because he's our button. It's an honest mistake, but
we're like a hundred fifty dollars for these weak gas seats.
Danny J. You're a Dodgers fan. You know where we sat.

(05:43):
We thought we were maybe five or ten rows up
from the dugout. We were under the field level, overpassed
by those like those like by those bar top seats
that are like the last row of the field level,
I said, I said, like a foot from relish. Yeah,
you're you're by the concession. Yeah. I could actually reach

(06:05):
with my hand for myself. We had a better feel
of the doyer Dogs than the actual Doyer's. So right
now you're getting the idea, right, Guys. We get there
and we're underwhelmed. We're not whelmed. We're not overwhelmed. We're underwhelmed,
and we're thinking we gotta pay a hundred for these tickets.
And then Spot was all excited because he's like, oh,
and there's a fireworks show tonight. And meanwhile I'm thinking, well,

(06:26):
we're not gonna see fireworks. We can't even see the sky.
We're underneath. Like these are the worst seats ever. So
fast forward, right, fast forward. Bad ticket. Rob hits me up.
It's like, Cavino, you want to go see the offspring
And I'm like, well, you know, maybe it was just

(06:47):
a one time doozy and you know he just messed up.
It was an accident, yeah, honest mistake. I said, sure. Man,
He's like, I got the tickets. I'm like, all right,
are the tickets. He's like, they're about seventy six dollars total. Right,
I'm not bad. But he showed me the view. So
he showed me the seat view, Like, God, I don't know, man,

(07:10):
I hope they're accurate. You get there, Rich, I'm not
even kidding you. You You couldn't even see the drummer, man.
And that's what I focused on the that's what I
focused on the most. Like, So he we got take
us to see the offspring out here in l A.
They were playing at the Pacific Amphitheater, which is where
the ocean the Orange County Fair is. You had o
d V obstructed drummer view, obstructed drummer view. And my

(07:36):
point is this now, wa the offspring? Oh so you're
uh kind of blind for a white guy. Yes, something
like that. So I was like, oh my god, I
I've got fooled once again. Fool me once, you know,
shame on you. The point is, if you're underwhelmed, do

(07:59):
you just how to bite the bullet? The clear answer
here is you gotta take matters into your own hands.
Don't leave it up to somebody else. But I mean,
how could someone expect you to pay for this this mess?
After a while, it's like I'm overpaying for something I'm
not even happy with. I'm not happy with this. The seats.
My daughter couldn't see, you know, she because she had
a stand on the seats. I couldn't see the drummer,

(08:21):
you know. And it's much much like the baseball game. So, Bobo,
what do you think about this? I just gotta bite
the bullet here. What's your take on that? Um? Bad tickets?
Bad tickets? I would let him know that, man, you
were forbidden for buying tickets from me and anything else
that I do. I think you presented in a joking way,
like yo, moving forward, dude, you're not my ticket guy.
But like then, it then it rains on the fun

(08:43):
and it points out that I didn't have a good
time when I did. But I was disappointed, you know,
and you want you want the bank for your buck.
It's just sometimes, you know, you feel misled and disappointed
when people are are in charge and they're collecting money
and it's not what you expected. Happened here. It's like
and there, if the playoffs come along, I can't let

(09:03):
that happen again. It's like you just said, you're joking.
You played man, I had a blast. I'll just wish
to see till a little closer because binoculars didn't work
because I can't even see the drummer. I can't I
can't even make out anything. You know. So that happened
over the weekend. You know where else has happened. This
happens when groups of you know, buddies or couples. If
you plan a vacation and someone's like, no, I'll book

(09:24):
the hotel, the resort, and you're expecting something and the
person the book probably feels really stupid when it's like, oh,
this is completely underwhelming. You said beach view and you're like,
nohe something with that is right, and and that's how
I feel. And this is the difference. That's the difference.
Like you could complain and maybe get a refund or
get a partial refund. There's something because you know the

(09:46):
pictures in the airbnb were misleading right here that your
buddy bought them and you agreed to pay them. So
now you're just biting the bullet on this bad decision,
which kind of suck. And that's the update. Bad ticket
rob take matters into your own hands, buy your own tickets.

(10:06):
It just sucks when you you know, have to overpay
for seats you wouldn't have bought in the first place.
But it happened again, and don't let it happen again
when playoffs come about. That's where I'm at right now
with that. Now Rob knows that you're a little unsatisfied
or is this just a joke that he's gonna find
out now he's hearing it for the first time on funding,

(10:27):
I didn't know if you liked you said like, yeah, hey, Rob,
you one of my best buds. But two for two
in the ticket Yeah yeah, yeah, here for two in
the fauil spot. I love why you were trying to
be nice. But this is the first time that he's
hearing about it. Well, Bobbo, you know it's uh, you
know what you know, it's fun about the radio. Yeah,

(10:48):
now the radio is like a truth serum. You know,
it just comes out. I've been I've been holding it in,
think about it. I'm I've spent And by the way,
at that Dodgers game where we had terrible seats, I
spent like three dollars at night because again we were
so close to the hot dogs. I couldn't resist. Yeah,
so you know, when complicated one fifty on dogs on
fifty on the seat. You factor in how much I
overpaid on those tickets, how much you overpaid on these

(11:10):
offspring tickets. And I'm just trying to have a good
time time with my kid, you know, at that concert.
I don't care about the offspring. But it was a
good show. It was a good time. The moral of
the story exists. Don't let anyone else buy tickets for you,
whether it be you know this upcoming football season, baseball, playoffs, basketball,
take the matters into your own hands, double check, get
the seat view. Like Spotty said, just don't take their

(11:33):
word for it, because you're gonna you're gonna have to
pay your buddy if he has it. I can't stiff
your buddy, especially if you're particular. I mean, and I'm
not saying most people aren't. Most people are, but especially
if you say, listen, I rarely go to a Dodgers
game or Yankees game. I really, I rarely go see
the Lakers. If it's a rarity and you're not the
regular type of guy to go on a regular I

(11:56):
said regular ten times, then don't leave that in the
hands of almost rich. What's what's sufficed for some people
just isn't for others. You know, he may have been
totally fine with that whole situation. And me, I'm thinking,
I can't even see Dexter Holland. It could be an
impersonator up there. How do you know? That could be

(12:17):
some old blonde guy. I don't know if that's the
dude from Offspring? Is that noodles? I can't tell. I
can't see from here. I can't even see the drummer.
And you know, that's how we felt watching the Dodgers game.
And like I said, just take matters into your own hands.
Just the reminder here on the Cavino and Rich Show
Fox Sports Sunday, is that Dexter Holland or Major League

(12:37):
Baseball pitcher Derek Hollins. I don't know. I couldn't tell
because I was so far away, but happy to be here.
I hope he had a great weekend. I hope you
enjoyed your games. I hope you enjoyed your fights. Some
good UFC yesterday, Danny Garcia. As I mentioned with the
big win yesterday, what's up? Rich? Um? No, I was
gonna say, you uh, you brought up bad ticket rob

(12:57):
and mixed in the beginning of our show. You you're saying,
you know, we lost the legend. We'll talk about Rocky
Balboa was unhappy. You know, a big fight got canceled
and we ran it down, And you said, Deebo Samuel
And I'll be honest, I've been out and about all day.
Of course I checked the Mets score a couple of things.
But this is news to me. I'm reading this as
you're talking about the beauty of our good pal Steve

(13:19):
the Singer. He just dropped a the Singer bomb. He said,
thirty million, three years with your forty Niners. No, that's
camp be eight five annually. Uh fifty eight point one
million dollar is in guaranteed money. Yeah, seventy one point
five million contract extension for three years, for three years.

(13:45):
You know what three year it's I think it's a
good deal for Bolt Danny g. My original instinct is like,
that's a lot of money, but you know what the
market for what you see, Davante Adams and you saw
something you know, other big WAE receivers get. I think
that's sort of fair for what Debo bring to the
table and all that hubbub of Debos leaving the Niners.
Remember him at the club being like nah, nah, Like

(14:05):
you know, I guess money fixes all. And to be honest,
in a hot free agent market with wide receivers being
the guys that are getting bigger money than ever, it
sort of seems like a fair deal for a guy
that dominates. Yeah, as much as we talk about quarterbacks quarterbacks,
you gotta pay your franchise quarterback. You need that number
one wide receiver, gotta have him. The other the other

(14:27):
big tier wide receiver guys are getting that type of
money and debos in that category, right, So I mean
it only it only makes sense, and it's sort of
nice to know that he's locked up. Now. Even more
pressure on Trey Lance, absolutely, you know. I mean, if
you reverse with Danny said right there, you're paying big
money for a wide receiver. Your quarterback also has to

(14:49):
step up. Hey, Trey Lance, we officially committed to you.
We told Jimmy g We broke up with Jimmy g
over a cup of coffee and said, Jimmy, we're moving on. Officially,
we're moving We're moving in with Trey. Guess what Trey,
Trey was given not only the position, we're moving forward
with Trey Lenz. We gave you Deebo Samuel for the

(15:11):
next three years guaranteed. No, that's great. Well, great news
for him, great news for you. I think right, you're
happy with that. Rich. By the way, if you news
to cavenown Rich, he's a lifelong forty Niners guy. This
is this is great news. I feel like this sort
of other than having Carvel today, which is my favorite
Ace Coast ice cream was having Carvel other than my

(15:31):
huge Carvel cone. This is the best news all day,
the best at Carvel and Debo signed a big contract.
Consider me a lucky dude on a Sunday. And if
you're going to see him, you know the season. Make
sure banticket Rob doesn't buy the tickets because I'm hoping
to see the forty Niners in Mexico City. They got
that Monday night game. I think against the Is it

(15:52):
the Cardinals? I think against the Cardinals. I thought I
already put Rob on it, and he said, you're air fair.
You're flying soul Point old plane and I got it
like the worst view ever. Connext to the men's room,
you have a connector. It's sole plane halfway and then
uh south not southwest. That's spirit. The other way flew
all the way to Mexico City, not to sit by

(16:13):
the men's room. Yeah, so we'll keep you posted on
any other updates there. Plus, like you said, you're going
to Mexico City, but you're in an enchilada stand outside
the stadium. Plus again, some good fights this weekend. Sign up.
The trade deadline is is upon us and we'll talk

(16:34):
about that. And and Sylvester Sliced Alone is in the news.
We'll get to your feedback and phone calls. We got
more Cavino and Rich on Fox Sports Radio next. Fox
Sports Radio has the best sports talk lineup in the nation.

along with my fellow Pro bowler t J. Hudshman's otta

Up on Game We're going to be sharing our real
life experiences loaded with teachable moments. Listen to Up on
Game with Me, LeVar Arrington, t J. Hudgman's Otta and
Plexico Birds on the I Heart Radio app, Apple Podcast

(17:43):
back to Cavino and Rich CNR on FS are Riches
on location, on site. He's a traveling man. He's like
Lebron James on the Court man, He's like James Harden.
He's traveling. Look at this guy traveling, Dickie Davis and
don't blow Listen. I am Steve Cavino, That spotty Danny
g is here, Bobo, Steve de Seger out here in

(18:05):
l A. It's Cavino and Rich Fox Sports Sunday eight seven,
seven ninety nine on Fox. Hope you enjoyed your fights.
Hope you enjoyed your ball games. I hope you had
good tickets. The last conversation to wrap it up. Anytime
you feel like your money, you didn't get the most
bang for your buck, and and you weren't satisfied with
your tickets, your view you were overpaying, you just have

(18:25):
this overwhelming feeling of disappointment. And not only did I
pay for bad tickets at a Dodgers game recently. Hey,
I paid for bad tickets at the Offspring concert just
this past weekend. Same guy got the tickets. And I'll
give you another one lass sports example which that happened
to me at the Yankees game this year. I wanted
a sauce siege in Italian sauce siege. So bad, oh

(18:49):
pep ja Yankee Stadium. I'm not there that often, you know,
we live in l A. I go to my brother
my brothers like, I'm gonna go get a sausage you.
I'm like, yo, dude, hook it up. He comes back
with two things that chicken fingers, you know, an ice
cream helmet and like and and like an oversized jumbo coke.
I'm like, what is that? He's like, I didn't feel

(19:10):
like waiting in line you. I'm like, wait, so now
I gotta pay sixty five for that? I was willing you,
See what I'm saying, Like, you don't mind paying for
things when you're satisfied and when the tickets or the
experience or the sausage meets your expectations, but paying for
something that you were not satisfied with always hurt your feelings.

(19:30):
So paying sixty five dollars for bad tickets or or
sixty five dollars for chicken fingers that I didn't want.
Always hurts the pocket and my heart. So moving along,
Cavino and Rich to hit us up on social media
or call us eight seven seven nine nine on Fox.
The trade trade deadline is this week. You know, tomorrow

(19:51):
is the first of the month, and the deadline is
on the seconds. My birthday month, Rich, birthday August nine.
I expect President starting celebration if you say birthday a
month one more time, tortilla. So the trade deadline is

(20:12):
upon us. And again I'm a Yankees fan. So well,
the whole world is on the edge of their seat
on Well, what's the deal with Juan Soto? Right onn
Soto or as I call him Soto. But Joey Gallo
is a guy that the Yankees, I guess, are thinking

(20:33):
about dishing. And I don't blame him one bit. The
guy stinks, stinking like a Blincoln. But here's the deal,
let's be fair about it. Rich, Joey Gallo, who put
up big numbers in Texas, known for his power. Oh
you say Gallo, I said, Callo, Joey Gallo. Someone got

(20:54):
the reference. I did, I got it. Joey Gallo is
one of those guys on the edge of the seat
waiting for the call. I guess it didn't work out here,
we're moving on from the Joey Gallo era of the Yankees.
In his defense, even though this guy has been horrendous,

(21:14):
I mean horrendous, and I see that from from obviously
a fan perspective, but also like a human perspective, like
it's hard to watch because you're rooting for the guy, right,
you know what? The you know what the nail and
his Yankee coughint was to me. I feel like Aaron
Boone was like, hey, listen, you got the worst strikeout
ratio and Edwin Diaz on the Mets has the best

(21:36):
picture strikeout ratio. I'm gonna give you one shot Subway series,
get up there. I feel like I would have bet
my children in the house on the fact that Diaz
would have struck out. There's a viral clip of a
very angry East Coast man freaking out about why are
they putting Joey gallow We know he's gonna strike out,
Why are they doing this? And of course he strikes

(21:56):
out but again, on a human level, dude, I don't
want to be like this. This the fan who thinks
it's so easy. I know it's not. And the guys
better than all of us. Right, let's be realistic about that.
The dude made it to the big leagues. We get
major level, major stage, major expectations, major pressure. I got

(22:18):
a major level at a home depot this weekend. Did
you nice? But again, as as a as a person,
it's just hard to watch as a fan. It's like,
as a fan riches like, get out of here with
this guy. Now, fast forward. People start interviewing him every
day about hey, Joey, how do you feel now. I
don't know if this is a true stat or fact,

(22:40):
but according to Yankee announcers and commentators, they're saying it's
the first time they ever heard a guy speaking the
past tense when he's still on the team. You know,
he's still on the team. He hasn't been dished or
dealt yet, and he's like, yeah, my time here the
Yankees was a good you know, it was it was
it was. It was a a moment that I'll never forget.

(23:01):
But I'll never be able to see the logo again.
And not feel heartbroken and understand that I never met
the expectations I never delivered for the Yankees. By that,
it's like a guy. It's like a guy that hooked
up with a girl and knows for a fact like Yo,
I delivered. I I underdelivered so much she is never
calling me again. I might as all say past tense,

(23:22):
like yeah, used to hang with her. So he he's
speaking in the past tense, as if this deal is
already signed, sealed and delivered, like never, I never run
my pinstripes. And that's that's a really honest answer. Though
he said that he's going to look at that logo
at the interlocking n Y for the rest of his
life and feel heartbroken. Again, I'm ad libbing that he

(23:43):
never came through and he never delivered, so super hard
on himself as a result. But again, it's the past
tense sort of thing, you know what. I used to
hearing that, it made me think that as much as listen,
I'm an East Coast guy, you're an East Coast guy.
Baseball such an East Coast vibe type of sport. If
you ask me, it's such an argument, So why would

(24:05):
you want to play on a high pressure situation if
the payoffs the same anywhere, like unless you unless you
thrive under that pressure. Think about playing on the Yankees
versus playing for the Minnesota Twins, think about playing for
any I mean he prosper Rangers. Yeah, you know, the

(24:27):
guy has skills. You know the New York media. Some
of these guys go to New York and they're like,
the media room is ten times the size is when
I played in uh, you know, Detroit, Like, I don't
know I would if I'm if I'm a BA goes
back to the yogism and I'm probably gonna butcher it.
But Yogi Barras says, the game is physical, mental and

(24:50):
you have to be strong enough to withstand that mental
side of the game. There's no doubt that Joey Gallo
hits bombs and that he's capable of it. He's done
it before. But on the stage and in this situation
and on this team, he's just not that guy. And
he knows it, and I don't think he wants to
go out there and play. But like I said, in
in his defense, I'm not sure I made this point clear.

(25:11):
In his defense, rich he always played hard and he
always you know, ran out the the crappy fly ball
that he hit. He always ran out the time he
struck out and the catcher dropped the ball like he
always hustled and tried, so you were ruled. Love how
I love how he barely put the ball in play
that you had to say strike out where the catcher
dropped him. I mean, here, just to back it up,

(25:33):
I mean, this is atrocious, spotty. What are the stats?
One's fifty nine twelve home runs. I think he was betting, oh,
sixty seven for the month or something like that. And rich,
you know, being a Yankees fan, you see these stats.
Aaron Judge has more home runs than he has hits

(25:53):
all year. You know, that's how bad this struggle is.
So it happens, people fall apart. And you know what,
here's the question of you. If he is dealt, which
is likely wherever the Yankees move anyone, they're gonna be
like yeah and take Yellow too, do you root for
him to thrive somewhere else, like a little redeption, Like
let's say he gets dealt somewhere like you're not gonna
root against the guy. You probably if all of a
sudden he gets dealt delta, like I don't know, some

(26:16):
team unloading guys. Let's say he's on the Cubs or
Royals and all of a sudden he bets to eighty
the rest of the You're gonna feel good for him,
of course, absolutely, because he played hard and he tried hard.
He just was not succeeding under the pressures of New York.
Some people are built for it, some people are not.
Um you know, Enrich poses a side question here with

(26:37):
situations like that, is it even really worth it? You know,
I think it is. You know, you want to deliver
on the biggest stage as possible. You know, it's it's
the boys. It's one thing for a guy to deliver,
you know, the big fish in the small pond, but
you you need to be the big fish in the
big pond. Man. That's what you say that that's a
that's a little old school because now the world is

(26:59):
more smaller place. I don't know if there is a
quote big and small pond. As much as it used
to be, like you got the MLB app he could
watch games everywhere. This isn't like if someone teams have expectations,
other teams don't. The rumor mill so far three teams Brewers. Yeah,

(27:20):
there's people, there's teams in interest, that's only but that's
only based on prior to his move to the Yankees.
So based on his performance, there might not be the
same interest. And by the way, guys, this isn't about
Joey Gallo necessarily. It's about like the human level of
really being compassionate to the guy. As a Again, it's
wearing two hats, and we have to be fair as fans.

(27:42):
As a fan, I'm like, this guy sucks. I'm just
an arrogant, obnoxious fan, right because I just want my
team to win. But as a person, I do on
a personal level, my personal hat. I feel bad for
the dude. I do because I know he had great intentions.
He did ryan hard and I know I saw that,
and I it was noticeable. But you know, it's it's

(28:05):
about that that two those two hats you wear as
as a fan and as a person and as um
a fan. We're all gonna see where these people are
down in the next few days. Pull the happy gallow
Weares has a huge k on it. No, it's terrible, man,
Watching this guy was horrible, could you know? According to
John Hayman, Yankees and Brewers are talking about a trade

(28:27):
where Gallo could fit way better in Mille Oak. Now.
I ask you this because I know the Brewers are
trying to get Ben Attendee. Yankees got him, so they're
looking for a bat. Brewers are on the brink of
the winning that division playoffs, like they're ahead of the
Cardinals now, so Brewers are a playoff team. What if
Joey Gallow gets a new destination a little up the

(28:48):
road from the habitation and the friends, you know, is
that the words? I guess um, I've seen a game
in Milwaukee, small town, awesome beer drinking, take a little
free shuttle bus to the game. What if he goes
to Milwaukee and lights it up? It could just be
changed the location, the big He might just freeze under
the big lights. It might be like, yo, I'm not

(29:10):
designed for the people, just aren't kind of out for that.
It's the truth, you know, And that's what the Captain.
I don't want to make this so Yankee centric, but
it is a story that I'm very close to. You know,
That's what the Captain's all about. You know, the story
of Derek Jeter is about a guy who rose under
the biggest pressures and on the biggest stage. You're though

(29:31):
you're talking to take it away from baseball for us
second and say, just look at something like broadcasting. You know,
Danny g Bobo, everyone's been in broadcasting. Well, there's been
many times where they take the big shot from like
the smaller city that did well in the ratings on air,
and they put that talk show host or sports host
on in the big city, the big platform. I mean,

(29:52):
look on the on the smallest of levels. Um, everybody
has also got one of those at home people to
the small level. I gotta major level the level they
had a sale on levels at home depot, different project.
Hopefully you can make your way there by the end
of the weekend. Um. There would be when we would
have our talk show on Serious six M. We were

(30:13):
on Maxim Radio, and like we would bring some like
local funny guys on our show, and because we just did,
people were like, yeah, we we know this guy is
super funny. Bring them on your show, all right, you know,
like a local comic. We'll just sometimes freeze, but yeah,
they're really not that funny when you when you put
the you know, spotlight on them and that and that's
the same sort of vibe. You know, you have to

(30:34):
be able to deliver under high pressure situations otherwise does
it really matter? Rich? Like, I don't like your attitude
about it. Really, it's like if if a tree falls
in the woods and no one there's to see it,
that it really happened kind of scenario. So if you're
if you're delivering for a small market team, it doesn't matter.
Does it really matter? Like, you know what really matters
delivering when you're paying getting paid millions of dollars to

(30:55):
deliver for the high market team you're on. I think
you're the topic that thinks unless you do it in
pinch trap as it doesn't matter, So you're an idiot.
On the other side of you. If some guy has
a great, long career and he's played for like the Brewers,
the Twins and the Padres, but it's called the business
of winning, buddy, they didn't win, Did it really matter
all that much? I mean, neither money. I get that,

(31:17):
But you know what, let's see what's trending. We'll get
back to it. And your phone calls A seven seven
on Fox? What's up? Steve Good Evening, Gentleman Basketball Hall
of famer Bill Russell passed away at the age of eight.
He won eleven NBA titles with the Celtics in a
thirteen year career, including eight years in a row. Honestly, Steve,
when you say that, and we keep hearing it all day,

(31:38):
eleven titles and at what the last two or three
were player coach? Right? Yeah, three, the last three. I mean,
when you hear that, it's just amazing. And Danny g
and I were talking about this off the here. It's amazing.
You just don't hear that all the time because it
sounds ridiculous. Good life, yeah, oh, great life. Yeah, so yeah,
you don't argue that impactful life fix and be a

(32:00):
titles quite a bit. And I when we think of
one guy eleven for crant out loud, I know there
were fewer teams in the league and fewer rounds in
the play eleven, it's still eleven years. Ulous And for
his career average fifteen points and twenty two rebounds per
game career and st he could he could only play
when he was alive and born. It's not like, well,

(32:21):
guess what, he had no choice. He was born then
that that was his life. And put it this way
he had in his postseason career ten game seven's, and
he went ten and oh in game seven's. That's just ludicrous.
Forty Niners game wide receiver Deebo Samuel a three year
extension potentially worth over seventy million dollars, according to NFL Network.

(32:42):
The decision on a suspension for Brown's quarterback to Shaun
Watson is expected tomorrow morning. The preseason starts this Thursday
night with the Hall of Fame Game Raiders Jaguars. The
league's regular season opener is September the eight. Tony Finow
won the PGA Tournament in Detroit. Hendrik Stenson took the
Live Golf of and to New Jersey. Tyler Reddick won
the NASCAR Race at in These Road Course. In Major

(33:04):
League Baseball, San Francisco with four runs in the fourth
now leads the Cubs for nothing in the bottom of
the fifth inning, Dodgers won again seven three at Colorado,
winning picture Tony Gonsolin now twelve and one. San Diego
edge Minnesota three to two, the twins of the first
place team in the ALE Central just one game over Cleveland,
two up on the White Sox. Cleveland and the White
Sox each one Cleveland five three winner at Tampa Bay,

(33:27):
beating the all star starter Shane mcclanan, who was ten
and three White Sox gonna win four one over Oakland.
Dylan Cease, the winning pitcher is eleven and four for Chicago,
Houston and ten innings edge Seattle, three to two victories
for Texas for Toronto and Kansas City, which beat the
Yankees eight six in New York. The Mets won their
sixth straight nine three at Miami Atlanta a one nothing

(33:49):
winner over Arizona. The Mets first in the NL E,
still three games over the Braves. Boston beat Milwaukee seven
to two, the first place team in the NL Central.
The Brewers are three games the Cardinals, who did win
five nothing at Washington, and the Phillies won their fifth
straight game eight two at Pittsburgh. Pirates have lost seven
straight back to Brewers are playing well. I don't know

(34:10):
if they want to deal with Joey Gallow. That guy's
uh sort of a headcase right now. So think about
what we said. Trade deadline approach and quickly approached still
the biggest story out there. I gave you the Joey
Gallows sort of drama. You know he's talking in the past,
past tense, as if he's always already gone, and um,

(34:32):
you know ticket remorse. We we covered a lot rich
and a lot of people are on the phones to
say what's up. We're gonna take all your phone calls
and if you want to make some trade deadline predictions,
I know certain ownership. Coveno, like the Cups said, you know,
we're gonna make our moves Monday or after. So some
teams were waiting for the last couple of days to
sort of see what was offered, to see what was
going on. So make your predictions at Coveno and Richard.

(34:54):
By the way, Steve said, Coveno, when you get a
chance during the break, look at how tight the al
Central has gone. It's like a It's like a millennial's
pants in the twenty teens. Look at their Minnesota, Cleveland
and Chicago are all it's like within a game of
each other, and with less than sixty games to go,
it's gonna come down to it. I love it. I

(35:15):
love it all right, So everybody on hold, keep your
chnis on. We're gonna get to all your phone calls
and all your feedback here on Fox Sports. Radio A
seven seven nine on Fox, I'm gonna get to you.
Next is Cavino and Rich Live from the West Side.
It's Cavino, Rich, Spot, Bobo, Danny g and Steve Fox

(35:39):
Sports Sunday. I'm Steve Cavino, Riches actually live on the
East Side. He's the only guy and Rich. You can't
see Bobo, but he's in full Lakers gear. He's here
in full Lakers uniform, like he just came off the court.
I thought maybe maybe they don't open tryouts. I thought
Magic Johnson was on the Ones and Tues. Today is
Bobo and of course rest in peace, Bill Russell. We'll

(36:03):
talk about that later on. We gotta talk about Slice
the loan, more trade deadline talk, but your phone calls
eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox, Fox Sports Sunday Funday.
Just having a good time chilling with you guys. And
eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox. Who do we Got?
We got Dom in Pennsylvania to start things off. Tom,

(36:25):
what's up, buddy? Hey, what's going on? Guys? I just
saw I wanted to talk about the whole forty niner situation.
I know Devo uh signed his contract today. U. My
question is about UM. I think the Niners were a
little premature and letting go Jimmy Garoppolo considering UM, I
think he's a winner. UM. I think there were a

(36:46):
couple of bad plays UM in the NFC Championship game
from going to another Super Bowl with him, just one
of your thoughts on that, uh, with Trey Lance and
his limited experience, and it seems like the Niners are ready,
uh to still win a Super Bowl. Yeah, I mean
I hope. So. I'm a big Nines m brow. So
I look at it this way. He got a steal
on de Bay. I looked up some of the contracts

(37:08):
on comparable receivers DC Metcalf, which I do not think
is as good as Deebo Samuel. They got the same money, right,
and he was bluffing in Seattle like I'm leaving making
and seem like he's gone. He got his money. I
think Debo is a better all around football player, brings
more to the table. Tyree Hill and Davante Adams got
more years and significantly more money, and I think Debo

(37:29):
is closer to them than DK Metcalf. Call me crazy,
I really do. I think Debo is in the DeVante
Tyree conversation more than he's in the DK Metcalf conversation.
And when you look at the money and what they
bring to the team, debo debo one big time here. Actually,
I think the forty is one big time. Deepot got
the money, but the forty Niners secured their guy for
three years, and did they leave Jimmy G a little

(37:51):
too prematurely by the way, Possibly that money puts him
eight among wide receivers. Danny G. Thank you so much,
because I really do think it's like, you know how
when the when you did the math, and it was like,
if Soto took the deal, it sounded like a good deal,
but it would have been like really not that great. Yeah,

(38:11):
like yeah, like forty million sounded uh like a huge number,
but when averaged, doubt you know it would have been
that great. I think Deepo, you're getting the deal of
a steel, of a wheel of a deal. So hey,
I'm happy for the Niners today. Now it's on Trey,
I'm telling you more pressure than ever. And I don't
know if it just lip service, but everyone's saying, my
goodness to progress he's made in the off season. I

(38:32):
guess we'll see in a month. Uh, Steven SoCal Covin
on Rich. What's up, Steve, listen to your wife outside?
What's up? Hey? Hey? Hey, how are you doing? What's up? Man?
What's on your mind? My my? My wife just got
bit by a B or something. Hey, how are you doing? Hey? God,

(38:55):
I hope it was a B and not your neighbor.
He got bed quick. Yeah, Bill Russell and Will was
still got Hey. I grew up in l a great
it was like it was like magic and uh it
was magic and the bird, you know. But anyway, Hey,

(39:18):
I was just tickets, you know, I got. I got
six tickets last year Angel's Jr. Junior game and uh,
I never I never got the email. But they made
it good this year. So we're gonna go. We're gonna
go in August and uh we're going to the Monkey.
They're giving away free monkeys. You guys still do no

(39:46):
I want? Steve showed up thinking he's getting an actual monkey. Steve,
have have fought with that tend to your wife's b
bite or something. He's gonna be disappointed, but thanks for
the He's gonna you know, he's gonna drive all we
thought to Anaheim, thinking he's gonna he's gonna bring a
carrier and everything. He's like, oh monkeys, I'm sorry to
hear about those tickets and that be bit. We got
more Coveno and Rich more feedback live from l A.

(40:07):
It's Fox Sports Radio. All right. I hope you having
a great weekend. We are Caveno and Rich Fox Sports Sunday.
Like I said before, I hope you're having a Danny
Garcia over Bena Vita sort of weekend and New Nez
over pain You sort of weekend UFC two seventy seven.
Hope you enjoyed your fights. Hope, boy, your team's one.

(40:28):
Thank you guys for hanging out with us. Mental health
is wealth. That's what we learned from the fights last night.
Danny Garcia, Man, he broke down talking about mental health yesterday.
It's a real, real problem with a lot of people,
a lot of athletes opening up about it more so
than ever. And we'll touch on that later. But stay strong,
be the man, and thank you guys for sharing some

(40:50):
laughs with us on a Sunday night. Now, Rich, speaking
of fights, I love the fight game, man. I enjoyed
it last night, enjoyed all the fights. I enjoy fight movies.
I enjoy Rocky. Who doesn't do you enjoy Rocky? I'm
assuming you do. Do I enjoy Rocky? I love Rocky well,

(41:15):
I have my order in which I love them even.
I feel like there's a heartwarming, great quality about all
of them, even the Balboa's and even the Creed movies. Yes,
I love Rocky. In fact, I'm gonna go out on
a limb. And my hottest take ever is that I
feel like Rocky Too might be the most underrated film
of the last fifty years. I feel like the Montages,
he finally beats Apollo Adrian's in the Coma Mickey with

(41:40):
the just win? What are we waiting for? Like that
the Rocky Too? Do I like Rocky? Okay, just make
it clear. I know you do. I've been working with
you for seventeen plus years. I just wanted you to
express your love of the Rocky films to the world
on Fox Sports Radio. We love it, we love sly
Spot and if party was sliced the loan he wasn't there?
Which wasn't there? Part? You were at a party and

(42:05):
he was there and he didn't say Heidi. Where we
made eye contact? He held up his drinking. He and
h it was a great time, but you weren't there
to witness it. Anyway, there's an update, and I want
to know how you feel about it. By the way,
how many times do you think that does happen where
some person says they party with someone but it was
simply what you just said. They were in the same
room and like did a little Hey, how are you
doing well? The backstory is I told you this, Adam

(42:25):
Carolla just hogged up his attention the entire night. He did,
and I called Adam Crola out on that when we
saw him and talked to him on our show. Hey, Slide,
it's me Coral. I talked to you for the next
six hours. I was waiting for a moment just to
at least make an acknowledgement or you know, or just

(42:46):
say what's up to Slide, Just to say that I did.
And how often are you in a room with one
of your heroes like sliced alone? And from your story,
Adam Carolla was next time for six hours, so he
called him out on it. So, speaking of Slice alone,
speaking of the fight game, some great fights this weekend.
I'm just gonna read you what I read on social media.

(43:09):
By the way, Sylvester Stallone is a great follow official
Slice alone on Instagram. A buddy of ours hit me
up and he go, yo, Slice. The loan is going
off on Instagram. I'm like, oh, what's he talking about?
So I go there to see and he says, another heartbreaker.
Just found this out once again. Erin Winkler. Now Ern

(43:32):
Winkler is the guy who produced the original Rockies, right,
but apparently he has the rights. This pathetic ninety four
year real producer and his moronic vulture children Charles and
David once again picking clean the bones of another wonderful
character I created with that even dearly me. Now I'm
gonna translate that I'm fluid in Balboa. A lot of

(43:54):
it might not be. He's saying that without any of
his permission in, or his involvement or anything. The Winkler family,
not Henry Winkler, Ran Winkler and his sons fons here
nothing to do with it, are taking the iconic Draco
character and doing something on their own. He says, I

(44:17):
apologize to the fans. I never wanted Rocky characters to
be exploited by these parasites. By the way, I once
had nothing but respect for Delf, but he never once
told me about what was going on behind my back
with the character I created for hire. You friends are
more precious than gold. So the question here is, can

(44:44):
a Rocky spinoff titled Drago set for MGM with Robert
Lawton to write it survive and would you go see it? Right? Then?
Then hold on, that's that's question number one. We'll take
your phone calls a seven nine Fox. Then he goes
on another rant, right, and he posts a picture of

(45:04):
Erin Winkler like like as a vampire sucking the blood
out of Rocky Bamba. I swear to God after Erin
Winkler and family suck Rocky Dry presumed to be the
most hated, untendanted, decrypted producer, decrepited, decrepitive producer Hollywood and

(45:25):
his cowardly children have found their next meal drug go
Throughout history, so many artists in every industry, recording, painting, writting,
your name have been destroyed by these bloodsuckers, who have
destroyed so many families, lighting their buckets with other people's
work parisites. And then he also posted the questions like Drago,
I thought we were friends, you know, Dragon never reached

(45:45):
out to him once to tell him that they were
doing this movie behind his back again about a character
that Rocky created. And I have to be honest. I
love the Creeds. I love the about Boa, episode six,
the six and Storming of Rocky. I love them all.
I don't think I'll watch this one because of my support.

(46:06):
I'm not wanting to take a big, strong stance. I'm
not interested if Rocky is not involved. So with that,
like Creed had the Stallone Rocky tie, and you're saying,
and we know Michael story, Jorge, Michael B. Jordan's directing
the next Creed and that's fine and dandy. I'm I'm
all about that. I'll check that out. If Rocky Balboa,
I'm sorry, Sylvester Stallone is not involved and he's bloodsuckers

(46:27):
as he's describing it, Are are doing this without his consent?
I'm not I'm not interested. I mean, I sort of
agree with you. I hate I hate to agree because
I'd love to argue on it. But truthfully, a Drago
story where Stallone and Rocky have no involvement, I thought
we got a nice little backstory on Drago in the

(46:51):
last Creed movie where I was like, oh cool, Like
we sort of got the creed Son and the backstory
of of you know, Drag a bit, not only the
Drago movie, especially knowing that they're sort of backstab and
Rocky belt Bowl a little bit. You know what, It
reminds me of Comino. How one of our favorite chose
on HBO. I know, Danny g loved the story of

(47:12):
the Lakers, and how it was Adam McKay who chose
John c Riley to play Dr Bust instead of Will
Farrell that destroyed the like friendship Will Ferrell and Adam
McKay Soca. It made a tough decision, but the right one,

(47:35):
I really do. I as much as I respect Will Farrell,
I don't know if he had the chops to pull
off with John c Riley pulled off in the Lakers docuseries,
I don't. I think John c Riley was perfect for that,
and I know Will Farrell was a little but heard
about it, but I don't know. Show business. Show business
brutal sometimes, and you know this just seems dirty, right,

(47:57):
doing a Rocky draw Goo type of movie without any
stallone involvement and not even running a by the fact
that the that's the worst part. Then he put then
he put Dolphin the expendable. Yes, that's the worst part
of the story to me, that this guy knows that
that he looked selbster Stone looked down for Dolf Lngren. Basically,
we wouldn't know Dolf Lngren in my opinion if it

(48:18):
wasn't for Sylvester Stallone created this Drago character. Of course
he delivered as the character he was Ivan Drago, but
clearly he fights for himself man, because when it came
down to it, he didn't even let Semester Sloane know
about this project behind his back. So it seems the
Slice Stallone all upset even though he's uberly successful and

(48:41):
you know he doesn't need my sympathy. I do feel
bad that they left him out of this and and
it's wrong, and I think it loses the movie as itself,
um loses integrity without any sort of involvement with Slice Stallone, well,
not involuntary sly On involvement. A intentional leaving sly out

(49:02):
of a rocky type of project feels dirty. Absolutely. That's
to tie it to the winning time HBO show about
the Lakers. Hollywood gets dirty, man, As you know Will
Farrell and John c Riley, they've worked together, they're great together,
they're friends. But Adam McKay, who's the guy behind Winning Time,

(49:24):
chose John c Riley to play Dr Buss when he
knew Will Farrell wanted the part, by not choosing Will
and choosing John c Riley and telling him before he
even told Will Farrell that. However, long friendship over, much
like Dolph not letting Rocky in on the conversations he
had sot on them totally leaving imagine him finding out

(49:50):
about this. He found out about it like in the news,
like I thought Dolph was my friend. What hurt him?
More of that? Or when Tommy the Machine Tommy gunn
thanked George Shington Duke, Oh, that completely? So your thoughts
on that? Is there any interest now? Knowing the back story?
For me, it loses it's sort of fun, Like I
don't know if I want to support it now, and

(50:10):
I'm not usually that guy, but I like Sylvester Stallone
that much. And then, uh, you know, just your thoughts
on Oh, you could ask that question. There's a there's
a part two. Um, your thoughts on Stallone being left
out of Drago and your thoughts on Adele buying Stallone's
house for fifty eight million dollars and saying that she
is definitely gonna keep the Rocky statue up. I hope so,

(50:34):
I mean as iconic. I mean, Adele could very well
be like, yeah, yeah, take the stupid statue out of here.
I love the fact that Adele said I'm keeping the
Rocky statue up, because if you ever did take a
virtual tour of Stallone's fifty eight million dollar mansion, it
is very Stallone Rocky gaudy, it really is. So the
fact that Adele's like, yeah, keep the statue, I think

(50:56):
that's a that's another cool Rocky story today. Well that's
the up to on the Dolph spinoff. And it was
great to see him in the in the Last Creed
with the Sun and that backstory. But now that we
get this side of the story and how badly Stallone
hates the Erwin Winkler family. Oh, and he begs them

(51:18):
to turn over the rights, give me the rights to
my characters. You know, they're not doing it, And that's
what we get. So we're probably gonna get some sort
of watered down version of Dolph Lundgren and his character. Yeah,
it's the update to be honest in a movie like Drago.

(51:38):
When this does come out, what are the fans hoping
for if you didn't know that Stallone was totally died,
If you didn't know that Stallone was left out the
whole time you're watching Drago, you're like, is there gonna
be a Rocky cameo or something you were you'd be
waiting for some type of Stallone or like PAULI throwback
or like footage of Burgess Meredith before he die. Like

(52:00):
they're not going to use any of that I'm imagining
because this is an independent project, And yeah that I
don't I don't know, or is your opinion? You know, Stallone, relax,
you know you're super successful. What are you crying about?
And then why are you posting this on social media
like a crying baby? You know? Is that another side
that maybe other people are thinking. I don't know, but

(52:20):
I saw this. I found it to be interesting And
there's another Speaking of speaking of crying rich, it has
nothing to do with Danny Garcia last night, who cried
after his fight because he battled mental health and he
he got to a place where, you know, he thought
he'd never be again. He begged that the public don't
use his face as the new Michael Jordan's crying me.

(52:41):
That was kind of funny. He said that last night,
I do have a story or thought about Roger Clemens.
I want to share with you too, because he was
in the news for his crying and I want to
talk about that in a few minutes. But your phone
calls and your thoughts and your feedback at Covino and Rich,
see people are calling at eight seven seven nine d
nine on Fox. We're gonna get to your phone calls

(53:02):
and your thoughts. Next on Fox Sports Radio. Yeah, Fox
Sports Sunday. Hope you had a great weekend, having a
great Sunday night. Cavino and Rich Everything at Covino and
Rich on social media, our numbers eight seven seven ninety
nine on Fox. Want to get you involved right now,
the most inclusive show on Fox Sports Radio according to

(53:24):
US eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox. Shout out
to the iHeart Radio app s eighty three and if
you're just catching us now, remember all the podcasts at
Fox Sports Radio dot com. Fox Sports Radio dot com. Now,
it's been a great weekend of fights, right UFC two
seventy seven. Last night, Nuniaz over Penia Mandia Amanda Nowon
has got her bantam weight belt back UFC two seventy seven.

(53:48):
It was that southpaw stance. She was knocking down Penia
left and right, cut her with some elbows. It was
a bloody, bloody fight and a big win for noon
Az and then of course Danny Garce see it with
a big win last night after battling mental health issues.
It was just great to see him in a different
weight class. He looked crispy man. He was crisp, no

(54:08):
ring rust at all. Look good last night over Benavidez
fighting at one fifty four and that got me in
a fight. Mood. I saw that Slice Stallone was in
the news and I was like, Oh, a new, a
new Drago spinoff, Only to come come to find out
that he's not involved at all. That Irwin Winkler and
his sons who owned the rights to Drago, we're doing

(54:30):
a spinoff and Drago dolfh. Londgren didn't even include Stallone.
I thought we were friends, you know, well, not that
it was just one of those like Dolf proceeded with
the spinoff without being like I'm doing it behind your back. Yea.
These are Stallone's characters, so so it's it's like robbery.

(54:51):
He doesn't have the rights, but it is like robbery,
you know, because they belong to him. There his babies.
It's like finding out your baby, your kid, you know,
just got married, or like you stick, finding out on
social media that your daughter just got mass business you
see business, but babies, babies, you know, character I created.
It's like finding out someone you know is dating someone

(55:13):
used to date and you're like, yeah, like you didn't
even sort of run it by me call. So that
was the update, and I did take a stand. Normally
I wouldn't care, but I'm like, yeah, they loses integrity
if Stallone's not involved in it and they didn't even
run it by and screw that movie. I don't even
care now, but I do want to take a few
phone calls on that. We're gonna talk Clemens crying, lots

(55:34):
of crying in sports, sometimes for good reason, other times
I'm not sure. And Rich has a three part question
at three part Twosia, We're gonna get to after your
calls eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox, Let's go
to Tony in l A. Tony. Hey, buddy, Hey, I
don't know if you guys know. We're having a super
big drought in Los Angeles and the city's put water

(55:55):
restrictions on people. In Calabasas, where Silvester Stallone lives in
a bunch of celebrities and pro pro athletes, a lot
of them are on water restrictions, and so Stallone is
one of them. He has like a hundred trees and
they put a restrict on his pipe, and they put
a restrict And think on all these basketball players and
rappers and all kinds of these people. You can find

(56:17):
the list of that got a lot of hard But
I got the water, you know. But by the way,
good luck put a restriction on the pipe of NBA players. Yeah,
but they could just buy a whale somewhere and fill
fill a truck up and bring it to them. They
want to use city water, you know, really, thanks for
the Stallone up. Stallone's wife got involved in that. It

(56:40):
was all over the news here. She like had an
attorney write a letter and they were fighting to get
all the trees watered. Well. By the way, I'm not
feeling bad for Stallone as far as like his finances.
Believe me, I'm not. I'm just saying these are his characters,
you know, I And that's it. Do you know Stallone
since we're just talking about him, he has a line
of pens. Have you ever seen that? Danny g a

(57:02):
line of pens, the tackiest looking thing you've ever seen.
But now he knows that, he knows the next present
we're gonna get birthday birthday, high end, high end, like Designer.
They're like thirty pens birthday month. I wanted to add
something because Covino, you were saying, how these characters are

(57:23):
Stallone's babies, right, but doesn't Stallone still owe a little
bit of money to Chuck Webner. You've seen that Real
Rocky documentary. Right, that's a great a great point, Like
why should I feel bad when he basically, I don't
want to say, stole the story, but he wrote the
story based on inspired by yeah chubbers about against Muhammed Ali,

(57:43):
who was the great underdog at the time. So hey,
that's a really really great point, you know. And you
could say Apollo Creed is very much Muhammed Ali, right,
So if you think, yeah, yeah, our imitates life and
it's got to be weird though, too, to see that
the characters he created now are are moving on without him,

(58:05):
and he is crying about it and to some degree
on social media. But we've got Clemmens, He's got Clemmens
Cross crying. He's a social media crying. What's up, Daniel Torrance,
what's up, buddy? Look, I'm hard to add behind some boxes,
I'm gonna warehouse and torrings, And I just wanted to
add to the conversation that if you think about this
in terms of music, like if you guys Drag and

(58:27):
Rocky were in a band, you're allowed to make music
together after your big hit. Yeah, yeah, yeah, it is
sort of like going. So it's like it's like Rob
Thomas being like later Matchbox twenty, I'm now just Rob
Thomas solo. Or it's like, you know, it's like Mike
Shinoda doing something without Lincoln Park. I get it, people
do things like that, but I don't know. This is

(58:49):
like it feels dirty, doesn't it? Not like not not
that Slide didn't get a phone call. No, but you
know what, Daniel, I like Daniels take on it right.
They worked on a project together and each party is
able to move on if Jack White, It's like it's
like when David Lee Roth still sang Van Halen songs

(59:11):
when he was so low performing, and and and so
did Alex and Eddie and the rest of the guys.
That is true, Oh good and good music, referenced Daniel,
Thanks buddy, thanks man. All right. So that's just the update.
Like I said, there's been a lot of crying in sports.
Sometimes it's completely understandable. Sometimes it's not. Stallone's doing it

(59:32):
on social media about his Drago spinoff that he's not
included in on and I felt banned for him because
I'm a fan. I'm Steve Covino. That is Rich Davis.
He's live in Queen's House Queen Street, and you're rich.
Queen's is good. I'm you know, my dad lives right
near Hollis Queen's And you know who's from Hollis Queen's Yeah,
run dmc russell simmons, also Um young mc lll, cool

(59:56):
J and one of your boys from Shark Tank, Damon John.
So um, it's it's you know, a lot of a
lot of big names came out of the Hollis Queens
area and one great Christmas song so um live from
Hollis Queens. John Rollers from IRV Gotti is from also
from Hollis Queens, and I'm surprised my dad wasn't the

(01:00:17):
first white rapper. I would say, by the way, Rich's
dad is from Hollis Queen's my dad should have been
a rapper. I went into the wrong business. So we
got one more phone call and then Riches three part
doozy of a question. We're gonna get to that next.
Who do we got, Paul? You're on Caveno Rich, Paul

(01:00:39):
and Rhode Island. Delvino, thank you for taking my call, Buddy.
I did not I did not expect Josh Rolls to
get a job. I really didn't. But because uh DeShawn
Watson will be back maybe after eight games, I don't know,
will be Jacobe and him, But I'm hoping that Josh
Rosen will get a job if Belichick will call Cleveland

(01:01:03):
and say you would be a backup quarterback because Brian
Hoyer just a played more quarterback. And I'm gonna tell you,
I know many clipboard quarterbacks may do a lot of money,
including Josh Rosen. But I'll let you take it away
and let me tell you be careful with the Raiders
this year, not because he thought one about boys there,

(01:01:25):
but I think they're gonna come in second. You know what, man,
You say clipboard quarterback, And the first thing I think
of is it's still a job, right and he's getting
paid a good amount of money to hold that clipboard.
Who in the in the right mind would turn that down?
But you know what I do think of when he
talks about Josh Frozen, Danny g backed me up, the

(01:01:46):
confidence out with the draft that he was in, the
confidence he came out in, and then he is correctly
for a long Arizona, Miami, Tampa, San fran The the Falcons.
He's been on five. Thing is he talked such a
big game but didn't back it up. That was his
biggest It's not that he didn't, it's like didn't he

(01:02:06):
didn't not, He only not backed it up. He never
truly got the opportunity for a first round guy, never
truly given like you would say, maybe the fair shake
others again, like he was immediately tossed around. It was
like yo, everywhere he went they decided nah, he was
in Arizona, Like, you know, I think we're gonna go
with Kyler Murray, Sorry Josh. Then he went to Miami

(01:02:27):
and the like I think we're gonna go with two,
sorry Josh. Like everywhere the dude goes that he gets
one up by like a hotter check. I wonder if
there's a clause in his clipboard contract, like does he
have to hold it for X amount of hours per game?
Forgot actually kind of forgot about that. He said he
was pissed that he was taking tent to remember. Yes, yeah, yeah,
oh yeah. He came out with all this like oh
he's gonna prove everybody wrong, Like yeah, he came out

(01:02:49):
with all this attitude and and really just never well,
Richard Saint got the opportunity, which is right, but like
I said, he never really got a chance to back
that up. Yeah, and listen, you never know. I'd hate
to say the stories over because I mean, I know
you and I both recently watched the Kurt Warner movie
and it's like the dude was working at a grocery
store and I won a Super Bowl. So that never
say never. But I mean it's it's hard to say

(01:03:12):
Josh Rosen will be a premier quarterback in the NFL.
But think about a tenth overall, and he was mad
about it. He was like really mad about it, and hey,
you know what, maybe he still has that chip on
his shoulder. He probably does. You need that to win. Sometimes,
I'm I won't count him out. I won't count them out.
Thanks for calling about Johnson Cano. Six NFL teams, The

(01:03:35):
guys just I don't know what it is. Maybe maybe
the minute of team takes a better look. They're like, yeah,
maybe not, or maybe it's just bad luck. Remember Alex
Smith had all those offensive coordinators the year after year,
and it took him a minute to finally get into
the groove. That Alex Smith, you know, ended up being
a pretty pretty damn good NFL quarterback, but the beginning
it was not. You Also, you need to find the

(01:03:57):
right place, the the right fit, and you need people
to believe in you right situation. Situations need to be
perfect sometimes to succeed. All right, now, before we get
to Clemens crying, because I have a theory on it,
I'm not quite tred by it. So I have a
theory on Clemens crying. But I have a three part
doozy and I want to go around the room. Danny J.
Bobo spot I think you're overhyping the doozy is are

(01:04:19):
you sure it's not a snoozy? There might be a
snoozy about your three part doozy. You should Bobo looks
so so excited right now to here. I'm gonna tell
let me take the I'm gonna take the temperature of
the room. Uh orally by the way, put your pants
back on, Bobo, yeah or or yah? Taking the temperature

(01:04:40):
three part question. And I'm curious where we're all thinking
about these three things. Number one tomorrow, what happens with
the Shawn Watson? How many games suspension if he gets
one at all? Where does Juan Soto go? And who
ends up being like the billion dollar mega millions winners,
like some rich person, some old person, some redneck always

(01:05:01):
some some some nobody from nowhere villa in the middle
of nowhere. It's always it's always some guy. Yeah, but
it's still gonna be some guy in overalls spot. My
wife has family out in like Decatur, Illinois, and that
is like wait, so, I mean like, let's you know,
let's so, what do you think Deshaun Watson sodo billion
dollar jackpot? Go ahead? Well, my the billion dollar jackpot

(01:05:26):
is definitely gonna be some guy. It's always the winner
is always from some place in the middle of nowhere,
right middle. He's gonna he's gonna resemble that. I would
I would do. I've seen this before. You know how
people show up to receive their giant check By the way,
where are they? Where do the issue of those giant checkbooks?
Giant check the spot the same place where they sell

(01:05:49):
the big scissors for ribbon ribbon okay, and the giant
ribbons for cars like Christmas. That's the same place, same place. Um,
I would show up like I would get a lawyer
and show up in a mask so people wouldn't know
that it was me. You can like a like a
Mexican wrestler mask, or like or a Freddy Kruger mask, anything, anything, anything,

(01:06:12):
so people wouldn't know it was me. Want Soto. That's
a tough one, man. Like I'm just wishful thinking right now,
Like I said, we live in a win now. We
talked about the pressures of New York, right, and and
Joey Gallo and how he couldn't fill the expectations. I
just can't see the Yankees dropping the ball on this one.

(01:06:33):
And and missing that opportunity, although you know there's speculation
that they don't have the players that that are needed
to make this happen. I'm like, well, you dish vulpie dish, Hey,
if you gotta there's rumors that you gotta a glabor
tourist to get a guy like this any day the week,
any day of the week, you gotta give up a
glabor tourist to get to on. So you know, that's

(01:06:55):
just the way it is. I'm sorry and said to
see that, that's just the name of the game. So
as a fan, I'm just hoping, wishful thinking that it
is the Yankees, because again, win now, win now is
the world we live in. I want to be optimistic
like our buddy Spot because I'm a Mets fan. But
I'm gonna go Sean, I'm gonna go alright, I'm gonna

(01:07:19):
go DeShawn Watson ten games, suspension, want Soto to the
Dodgers and the Mega millions is gonna be some lonely
old like eight year old woman that' say, my whole
life I made and she's got not gonna know who
to give it that I was picturing like a you know,
sixth year old like guy in overalls holding the check.
You know what I mean, Danny G's not gonna argue that.

(01:07:41):
I'm sure he's hoping again, wishful thinking that it's the
stage Deshan Soto and Mega million winner. Well, I would
love for him to be a Dodger. But just so
I don't jinx it, I'll say the rumors are true
that the Cardinals who have been hot and heavy and
try gonna go all in or gonna get him. Watson,

(01:08:02):
I'm gonna say six games, and uh, let's see for
the Mega I'm gonna say an office of workers in
Idaho wine they got they went to they got it
in the big city. Gotcha. I like that they crossed
the border to Illinois. I like that a group of people.
You know what, though I didn't answer Watson, I'll go
in between you guys. I'll split the split the difference

(01:08:23):
like practically half a season essentially. I'll say eight games,
eight games, any hot takes bobo, Oh, let me see. Okay,
start with the lotto. I want to say, it's just
one guy that just happened to have his last two
dollars and is he gonna be is he gonna try

(01:08:44):
to become some you hefter Dan Balls area type, or
I think he's gonna blow it in five years. I
think for some reason, his entire family is gonna leach
off of him, and he's gonna have a whole lot
of stuff that comes back and try to get him.
And you know, we're gonna we're gonna know, no, it's
gonna happen five years, but we're gonna find out this
this average fellow, right, and we're gonna destroy him because
we're gonna like, we're gonna try to cancel him and

(01:09:06):
find out all the bantings years. One of his ex
girl friends, well, you know, he gave me that STD
when we were this young, Like I need a million
dollars or I'm telling about two billion, or I'm telling
everybody we're going to this racist tweet from of a
lot of winter. Yeah. I think that Shaun is probably
gonna miss about half the season. So I'm gonna go
about eight nine games, Uh what was the last one,

(01:09:29):
So probably going to the Cardinals. I don't want him
at the Dodgers, I really don't. We'd have to give
up too much to get him, and then he'd take moves.
I'll be honest I feel like I honestly Danny g
and Cavino, and I think all of us could agree
that he's most potent if he goes to the Mets, Dodgers,
or Yankees. I think if he ends up with the Cardinals,
I think we can all feel okay with that because

(01:09:51):
it's not I don't think it's like a threat to
any of us. Knock on what Yeah, I think most
Dodger fans, um, you know, I can't speak for all
Dodger fans, but Ohtani has been on the local radio
in l A pitching and hitting. Oh my god, imagine that.
Imagine imagine not only getting a playoff pitcher, you know,
but you're getting a guy in the in the in
the middle of your line up, Like you're yeah, it's

(01:10:12):
that's why the value you know what. I'm thinking what
Bobo said too, though he's he's okay not getting him.
There's ramifications when you get it one Soto, you might
be losing a player that costs you team chemistry right
number one. And you got to think about again for
for the Yankees, for example, if they gets Soto, now,

(01:10:35):
can they afford Judge in the future, So you know,
by getting Soto. Now you might be losing Judge, and
Judge is doing everything he could possibly do right now
to tell everybody like, we don't need anybody else. I'm
the guy, right, So you do lose a lot by
getting this dude. So we'll keep you posted on that.

(01:10:55):
We're gonna talk a little Roger Clemenson crying in sports next,
but Steve did the Seger. What's trending, buddy, Let's talk
about Bill Russell, as the basketball Hall of Famer passed
away at the age of eighty eight. We mentioned earlier
eleven NBA titles with the Celtics in a thirteen year
pro career, he was regular season m v P five
times between nineteen fifty eight and sixty five, and an

(01:11:16):
item from Bob Ryan, longtime Boston writer, he says that
in Russell's final fourteen years as a basketball player, so
this includes Olympic gold medal games, menzi A tournament games,
and the NBA playoffs, that his team's participated in twenty
one winner take all contests in that span, and Bill
Russell's team won all twenty one. Yeah, just an all

(01:11:40):
around winner, one on every level possible. God, and it's
can we agree that the famous photo of Bill Russell
is a great one with him with his hands on
his face like well the rings, that's like a great
famous photo. I mean, honestly that could there be a
better old school photo like a guy like you know,
an older Bill Russell. All the rings, that's that's that's beautiful.
Needs eleven fingers for the Celtics type and a gold medal,

(01:12:03):
by the way. With the Olympics and back to back
national titles in college, where do you put the extra ring?
University of San Francisco, by the way, and he went
to high school in the Bay Area. University of San
Francisco with Bill Russell won the national championship back to
pack years. That just needs to be set out loud
as well. News from San Francisco tonight that the forty
Niners gave wide receiver Deebo Samuel a three year extension.

(01:12:26):
He had fourteen touchdowns last season in sixteen games. The
decision on the suspension for Brown's quarterback Deshaun Watson is
expected tomorrow morning. Whatever the decision, the players union says
it will not appeal and it called on the league
not to either. By the way, Tony Finow won the
PGA tournament in Detroit by five strokes. Henrik Stenson took
the Live Golf event in New Jersey. Dustin Johnson tied

(01:12:48):
for second place two strokes. Back Live Golf is in
Boston in early September. Each winner on that tour gets
four million dollars, so Hendrik Stenson four mill, Richard Tony
Final one and a half million or so. This weekend
for winning the p GA event, Tyler Reddick took the
NASCAR race at Indy's Road Course and the Sunday night
ball game at San Francisco. It is still Giants for

(01:13:10):
nothing over the Cubs top of the eighth thanks to
a four run fourth Houston and ten at nings Edge Seattle,
three to two the Mets one. There's sixth straight game
nine three at Miami Taiwan Walker the winning pitcher, is
nine and two, and Jacob deGrom will make his season
debut for the Mets on Tuesday nights at Washington. Mets
her first place in the n L e still three

(01:13:31):
games over the Braves Atlanta. Do you look at Do
you look at that as the Mets getting a trade
deadline edition or do you want to see your Yeah,
I look at it like, hey, listen, like, whatever deals
are made or not, the Mets are getting him so
lined up with the trade deadline that you're almost like
adding the grom to the team. Like you gotta almost
look at that way. I mean, they're just about the
one seed anyway right without it, and then you add

(01:13:53):
that it is like adding in a trade. The Dodgers
are hoping to do the same with the injured relievers.
They're hoping that maybe a couple of injured artists in
the next month or so back, even if they don't
make some big splash in the next couple of days,
Dodgers to get a reliever over the weekend. Atlanta Braves,
by the way, are the defending World Series champions and
still just three back of the Mets in the NL
East and the Braves one in the ninth one nothing

(01:14:15):
over Arizona. The Dodger victory was seven three at Colorado,
winning picture Tony Gonsolin is twelve and one, and the
Padres beating Minnesota three to two. Back to you, thanks.
I do want to point out that the Bill Russell
story really was heartbreaking. Now even though eighty eight years old,
it's it's an amazing life. It is like, oh, you know,

(01:14:40):
I was sad to see that today. So rest in peace, legend,
just an all around winner. Like we said, it's Cavino
and Rich Fox Sports Radio. No, it's true. CNR on
fs are the legacy lives at, Covino and Rich on
social media at Steve Cavino at Rich Davis at Spots Center.
The DG is here, Bobos on the ones and twos,

(01:15:02):
Thanks again to Steve de Seger check us on the
I Heart Radio at Fox Sports Radio dot com s
x M eighty three. Now, I wanted to differentiate crying. Okay,
there there's different kinds of crying. When people are crying
about no, no, no no. When people cry about wins and losses,
that's when I really can't tolerate it. I really can't.

(01:15:25):
If someone's putting their heart on the line because they're
talking about how how tough life has been and what
a roller coaster life has been, or their mental health
like Danny Garcia last night, you know that that's just
opening up to me. That's that's being a man, that's
being strong or a woman. Because Naomi Osaka was brought
up last night. You know, in regards to mental health,

(01:15:47):
we see a lot of that in sports. To me,
that someone being strong saying that it has been tough,
wins and losses, things like that. That doesn't vibe with
me the same way. There's a story, are you about
the rocket? Roger Clemens and I have two thoughts on this,
And I know Rich has a theory. He cried when

(01:16:07):
he played against your Mets, and we'll talk about it.
We'll get your phone calls and your feedback next on
Fox Sports Radio. Plenty of lessons learned in life. The
biggest one might be in this song never trust the
Big button a smile. Can Fox Sports Radio canna talk

(01:16:34):
about Roger Clemens crying? Can I talk about can you believe?
The NFL is like a month away? Games are gonna
be played in a week? Like it just seems wild
to me that the world, the world's moving Caveno, things
are moving fast. I feel like, you know what it is.
I think I'm usually mentally checked out of baseball by now,
and the fact that my Mets are really good, I'm like,
oh wait, that's right. Baseball and football do overlap well

(01:16:56):
here in l A. Riches and Queen's right now, but
we live in l A. Here in l A, school
starts in two weeks. Tomorrow's August one, and schools right
back in in two weeks, just like that summer is over.
My daughter starts kindergarten in two weeks. I'm like, when
did school start August fifteen? What the hell is that?

(01:17:20):
Los Angeles? All right, Well, before you talk about the
rocket crying, our buddy Matt hit us up. Our buddy
Matt out on Long Islands said he's checking us out,
and you know he's a huge stallone Rocky fan. You know,
like crying about not having the rights to things that
you just don't have the rights to nobody is a
little bit of baby behavior. Listen, you know Taylor swifted

(01:17:43):
Taylor Swift and have the rights to music. She rerecorded
all the albums and her fans just bought them all again.
Like this happens with music, it happens with movies, it
happens with the trying again. I'm they give him back.
Bloodsuckers called him. Blood Suckers wants his characters that he invented,
I invented that he created. He wants the rights to
those things, and they're you know, moving the franchise on

(01:18:04):
without him. In the New Trogo spinoff. That was the
story earlier. I want to buy the rights, Yama, dude,
think about That's just the culture we live in, right
if if if a fan doesn't like how their series ended,
they want to petition, like a rewrite, like the things
it just happens. It's a game of thrones. Fans like

(01:18:25):
we didn't like the ending or stranger things like we
want to bring that character back. He knows. Hey, that's
the liberty of the people in charge, not you. How
I met your mother? Why the mother die? Like, we
just live in that type of culture, man. People just
like to whine and complain and cry, cry baby cry.

(01:18:51):
Now the rocket rocket, I'm on a rocket rocket. Roger Clemens,
you know, we all know the famous scene throwing the
bat at Mike Piazza. Really tense moment. We have to
go back twenty two years. Man, it was a long
build up there too, because Piazza owned owned Clemens. The
two thousand World Series Subway Series Game two was a

(01:19:14):
big moment and tensions were high weekend. All that right,
rocket throws one high and tight, Piazza swings the bat breaks.
We remember the clip, Remember the highlight. We've seen it
a million times. The story goes that Clemens thought it
was the ball, so he just reacted, grabbed the bat
and threw it back a piazza. But the part of

(01:19:36):
the story we didn't know was that Roger Clemens went
back into the locker room and cried. We discussed it
next al right, our three Fox Sports Sunday Fun Day.
That's right, Caveno en Rich. We're at Caveno and Rich

(01:19:59):
on social medi media and social media. Since I had
a hard time getting that out, had a piece of
pizza stuck in my throat. If you like our show,
Patreon dot com. Slash, Cavino and Rich run Monday through Thursday.
Thanks for hanging out with us. My heart radio app
s x M eight three are stomping grounds s x M.
Of course Fox Sports Radio dot com. I hope you

(01:20:20):
enjoyed your games this weekend. Do you want what else
you watching aside from sports? I'm gonna catch up. I'm
trying to watch the Offer. I can't get into it, man,
I know everybody loves it, you know, I gotta get
into it. And I love the Godfather. It's about the
making Father. No, I don't think you don't have to

(01:20:41):
get into it. No, I'm saying I don't think you
love The Godfather enough. Yeah, I don't know, I do.
That's not the question that it's a fantastic cast, Miles Teller.
It's on paramount, Yeah, Paramount plus the offer. Everybody's raving
about that. So whatever you're getting into, we hope you
enjoy it now. By the way, so you can have

(01:21:02):
Dan Fogler spot and I sat next to him on
the beach once and you know that awkward thing where
you want to say hi to someone because they're just
right there and you're and you recognize them from Rich
couldn't look away leave Now he's from he's the uh
Murray's brother on the Goldbergs. What else do people know that?
He's very Jack Black and a lot of characters. He

(01:21:24):
was in Fantastic Beasts franchise, but we saw him and
I it's so hard to concentrate. Yeah, yeah, but it's
hard to concentrate when you're like, I know that guy.
I want to say, what's up? But like we've had
him on the show, but we did. I don't know.
It's just the whole time it's distracting. It's like if
you go to a restaurant and you sit near a celebrity,

(01:21:47):
the whole time you start of just looking at him.
That rarely happens to people listening right now, but being
in l a it does happen from time to time.
If you've been on a flight, if you've been somewhere where,
if you get on a flight you're in first class,
they're so and so the whole time you sort of
peeking like what do they do with it happens. So

(01:22:09):
the offer maybe you want to dive into that after
your game tonight. That's on paramount plus hearing great things
about it. Have you decided that you could live longer
in the wild than you thought from watching Alone? Are
you still think you'd last like twelve hours? I'll tell
you what Danny g was right about that though. That
show is the She's Bam Snappy. That show is is
a reminder that I don't have any survival skills at all.

(01:22:33):
That's what it is for me. Alone on Netflix is great.
Better Call Saul is great. That continues tomorrow night. Enjoy
all that and again and enjoy your sports. It's fun.
Sports is fun. That's why we're here having fun talking
about it. But it does Gilbert, did you did you
like to build burst stand up? I did? I loved it. Yeah,
that was great, um, But sometimes it gets intense. We're passionate.

(01:22:55):
We're passionate fans. They're passionate on the field and I
love the fury. I love the fire, and with that
comes raw emotions sometimes, right, And I made it clear,
and I'll make it clear one more time. If it's
an emotional moment, someone's crying about at all, retirement or
you know, Tom Brady is about the shed one because

(01:23:16):
he's talking about his dad being his hero. I don't
mind that. What bothers me. Sometimes it's like when they're
crying over wins and losses, and I get it. I
love that people's heart are on the line. I love
that they care, but like crying for wins and losses
is weird to me. I'm just throwing that out there.
Because votos don't cry, that's that's a rule. They just
pound really hard. Battos don't cry. We only get nine tiers,

(01:23:40):
So over wins and losses, I don't know. You're caught
in a moment. I get it. But here's the story
the rocket Roger Clemens, I mean, had the world on
his shoulders. In the year two thousand, the Yankees couldn't
lose the Subway series. You remember that whole scene, Rich
it was against your Mets. You know, he's got on
his shoulders. Now what ahead with a terrible head of

(01:24:03):
bleached blonde hair. Well, you know, we're seeing the reason
we're seeing a lot of Roger Clemmens and Joe Tory
and we're hearing all this feedback is because of the
Captain documentary, which is great so far, parts five and six.
This week they're really diving into the the beef that
Derek Cheater had with a rod And you know, they're
also talking about this world series we're discussing. The year

(01:24:26):
was two thousand. In the year two thousand, the Yankees
faced the Mets. It was a very underwhelming, you know,
Subway series, but in game two. Yeah, I mean our
whole childhood were like, oh, imagine if it happens. It happened,
and it sucked, it was boring, and hey, it could
happen again. It could be all the buzz. But in

(01:24:47):
two thousands they faced each other and it was a
big rivalry between the rocket Roger Clemens and Mike Piazza
and It came out this week after the whole incident
in Game two Roger Clemens, according to Joe Tory. Joe Tory,
the manager of the Yankees at the time, said that

(01:25:07):
Roger Clemens went back to the locker room after throwing
the bat at Piazza, after this high emotional moment, and
began to cry. And I'm not here to say, oh,
that's weak that Roger Clemens cried after that high intense
emotional moment. I'm here to say that, as much as

(01:25:30):
I love Joe Tore, to me, that's like a clandestine
as Mike Tyson would say, at the clandestine moment, that's
like a personal, private moment like the rocket was was
composed on the field. You know, he was very intense
on the field, I'm saying, but he didn't cry on
the field. He went back to the locker room and cried.
Isn't that like his own moment to keep to himself

(01:25:53):
at that point, Like the fact that Joe Tore brought
to the light that he was crying in the locker
room after that, to me, it feels like a bit
of a I don't want to say, a backstamd, like
it's not intended to be that way, but as a
proud guy. I think Roger Clems is a proud man.
I do you know, and myself, I want to want
people call me out for crying when I tried to

(01:26:14):
keep it private, like I held it for the locker room.
That's why he was in the locker room crying because
he didn't want the world to know and see that
he was crying. You see what I'm saying. They're not
judging him for crying Rich I'm I'm judging Joe Tory
for calling him out on his private moment. I think
there are times where there's an understanding like yo, we
don't talk about this, and maybe Joe Tory broke that rule.

(01:26:37):
Like yeah, I had a buddy once say something to
the effect of like remember your back to the party
John and those strippers came. I'm like, what is he
stupid here? Like the next lit You're like, yo, bro,
do you like you don't talk about that? Hey remember
back of the day? No? No, no, not right now.
But I have a different theory on this camping on now.

(01:26:58):
Hear me out that you might think I'm a brain
for this, or you might think I'm a genius. I
mean I think your bread brain for lots of things,
so it doesn't matter. But yeah, but this might, this
might be genius thinking here on Fox Sports Radio. I
want you to think back to season nine of Curb
Your Enthusiasm. Do you really think I could do that
right now? You know it's a couple it's a couple

(01:27:21):
of seasons ago. But I'm gonna bring up the episode
and you're gonna say, oh, crap, I remember that. Do
you remember this? The episode called the Accidental Text on
Purpose where Larry would text someone and be like, oh,
it's an accident, but it wasn't because what was in
the text was something he wanted that person to know anyway, right,
he accidentally sent it thinking he was you were sending

(01:27:43):
it to someone else, like if I like, I would
say no, like if I yeah, Like if I wanted
just to say something about you too, But it's hard
to say it to me, but it's hard to say
it to you. I texted to Caveno you pretend like
if you thought I was gaining weight but you didn't
have the heart to tell me, but you wanted me
to know because it was unhealthy. I would think I'm

(01:28:05):
texting Rich but really texting, but really text Caveno like
intentionally pretending like I'm texting Rich and actually done in
but it's usually done in complimentary for him. Like if
I like, like if I wanted Camino to know I
had a really good time at his party, but I
felt like I didn't let him know, I would text
him think not like saying, hey, Spock, Caveno's party was

(01:28:29):
really great, Oh, Comino, I said that to you by mistake,
like the accidental text on purpose. So I think maybe
to show the compassionate, softer side of the rocket, he's like, hey, Joe,
you could tell the story so that he didn't have to,

(01:28:49):
you know, expose himself in this kind of way, because
I think he's a proud, tough texting like he doesn't
let people see him crying that way. He's a he's badass,
macho guy, proud badass text And you know what, perhaps
in an attempt to make it to the Hall of
Fame and change his image a little bit, he's doing

(01:29:10):
the Michael Kay thing. He's doing the A Rod broadcast.
He's out and you're seeing Rod Clems his son. His
son's in the league now, and you know, maybe not
that far off the theory what I'm saying, like I'm saying,
maybe an attempt to soften his image so that maybe
we look at Roger a little different. It's like, show
the compassionate side of me. So when you're talking, when

(01:29:33):
you're talking about the World series, you know what, tell
them I was crying because everyone thinks I'm this badass.
Text in that cheat it and I'm steroids changed the
narrative to he was he was a blow hard that
through the bat at Piazza. You know, yeah, And you
know what, it does change my image a little bit
of him. It does, because when I heard that art,
it really absolutely does. It makes me think when you

(01:29:55):
think of the highlight, we can all imagine the highlight.
You know, um Cleming is yelling back at Piazza, right,
he's yelling at him. After he throws the bat. He
looks fired up. Man, the bench is clear, everybody gets up.
It's real intense. But then when you hear the side
of the story where he's crying about it, you're like, Okay,
maybe we just misunderstand the rocket. But my whole thought

(01:30:17):
when you see when you see the it's a good theory.
When you see the old school Italian guy that on
that rare occasion where he's like, I got really emotional
my thing or something like that. You you, perhaps in
an attempt to change his image in a rebranding so
that perhaps one day he is a Hall of Famer,
so that maybe the rocket gets in the broadcast booth.

(01:30:38):
There's something It wouldn't be crazy to think that this
was the quote Larry David accidental text on purpose. Yeah,
the Joe Tory running by him first. But I think
the backstory too, was that the rocket went back to
the locker room. So mel Stottlemyer, right, Mel Stolemeyer, the
pitching coach at the time, saw him crying. Told Tori
because he went to Joe's office and they were sitting

(01:31:00):
in the office. I wonder if he was like like
ugly crying, ugly faced, blubbering like me during that this
is us, Yeah, like rich during this. Yeah, he went
in there and he was devastated with the result of
what had happened and was crying. That's the quote. That's
you know what the mean quote. That just shows, honestly
how much emotion is involved in that moment. To me,

(01:31:20):
So it does change my perception and Rich might be
right on with that. You know, maybe Tori tories that's
and that's why I was one of the greatest managers.
But that's why it stood out Rich. I'm like, why,
I I find that interesting that that Tori would expose
that because to me, like what happens in the clubhouse

(01:31:41):
and in the locker room sort of stays there in
a lot of ways. So for him to say that
was odd to me. But when you when you pose
it the way you did, Rich, like maybe Clemens wanted
that out there but didn't want to call it on himself,
that makes that actually dut for stupid as it is,
it does make sense. That makes it makes sense to me.
And and you know, in a world where vulnerability and

(01:32:04):
men showing their emotions is more and more not only accepted, encouraged,
perhaps showing the softer side of the rocket is not
a bad thing. Yeah. And on the flip side of that,
like I said, when when people cry wins and losses,
you know, that's that always is weird to me. It
just is like, I'm not saying that people should like losing,

(01:32:28):
but you never let them see a sweat. As the
marvelous Marvin Hagler used to say, never let him see
a sweat. You're trying, you know, like to cry in
sports during a championships at Hall of Fame ceremonies, that's
totally exception, you know, to tie it all together, just
two in crying. They're very separate conversations, but just to

(01:32:48):
tie it together. Last night we saw champion, former champion
Danny Garcia, you know, returned to the ring and the
reason he wasn't fighting for the past few years is
because of mental health issues. And when Jim Gray asked
him about it yesterday after a really crispy win, he
was looking crisp. He looked great last night at a

(01:33:10):
new weight class one against Benavidez. When he asked him,
you know, about his comeback and about his mental health,
he expressed that he was in a really dark place
and he started talking about his mental health. Dude, the
guy who just want to fight, who's just kicking ass
and really put on a show. The Garcia show last

(01:33:32):
night broke down in such a way that you just
have to applaud it, you know. So it's it's accepted
and encouraged definitely. So, as Bill Burr points out, very
different things rich. As Bill Burke points out in his
comedy special You Know men are you know, stupidly designed
to keep all these things bottled up until one day

(01:33:52):
they have a heart attack. And I'm not condoning that
by any means. Like I said, it's just the game,
you know. But when you see him open up about, uh,
the pressures of performing at a high level and boxing
and in life. Life is tough, he says, and the
pressures of being a dad, and and the pressures of
being a man. And I say man or or an
athlete right when you when you combine athlete and in

(01:34:15):
person and human, parent, family member, all those pressures combined,
and you see this guy's heart just pour out. He
couldn't keep it together, dude, he couldn't. And he only
broke the glass or um, he only broke it by
by bringing up Michael Jordan's cry face. And he's saying
he hopes he doesn't become a meme. And that's what
lightened up the mood a little bit. But Jim Gray

(01:34:37):
really encouraged it and had him talk about it in depth,
saying that this is more and more common in sports
and in life than ever before, and it should be discussed.
And I'm bringing up mental health in the in sports
very you're seeing. You're seeing a lot of pop stars
and rock stars even postponing tours and canceling the you
know events for you know, mental health. I can't, Yeah,

(01:34:58):
I can't be out on the road the child. Was
it always there or are things just worse in our
we just different? Or was it always there? I think
it was it was always there, and a lot of
men just fought it and and and you know, put
themselves even through more stress and and and heartache because
they thought, I'm a man, I can't do this. And
I think we're realizing if the manliest of men, gladiators
in the octagon, in the in the ring and on

(01:35:19):
the field, and rock stars we admire if if they're
going through struggles, I think it, Uh, let's the average
person think that it's all it's okay. Yeah, And it's
by the way, it's worth the watch if you guys
get a chance to look it up, you know. And
Danny Garcia, you know, talks about his demons and how
he fought him and how he's happy to be in
a better place and how his sports and boxing is
therapeutic to him, and he apologized for crying because he

(01:35:42):
really broke down in his speech at the end of
the fight. He really broke down, and Jim Gray made
it a point like no man. That showed a lot
of strength and a lot of courage, and it meant
a lot to a lot of people, and it really did. So. Again,
that's a far stretcher when Jim Gray like totally accousted Pe. Yeah, yes,
completely different. So your thoughts on that the rocket Crying

(01:36:04):
in sports were covered a lot here. We'll get to
your phone calls and feedback. Next Cavino and Rich on
Fox Sports Radio. It's Cavino and Rich Fox Sports Radio.
We're at Covino and Rich on social media. Riches and
Queens were here in l A. Is that Everyboddy's spot
on muted trumpet? Yes, yes, the spot a great trumpet.

(01:36:28):
Bobo is on the ones and twos. He's on the
turntables scratching it up. Danny g is here. Love me
some l L Cool, j Ladies, Love Cool James, Steve
de Seger, Thank you guys for hanging out with us.
Fox Sports Sunday. Now, Yeah, we're talking about crying in sports.

(01:36:50):
Sometimes we totally get it sometimes I don't. That's just
my opinion. Everyone's a title to their wrong opinions when
it's from the heart man in and and it's just
it's real, Like, to me, that's courageous. I get that
that happened last night with Andy Garcia at the fight.
But you know what, you you grow and you change,
and you have perspective too, though, Rich, because when I

(01:37:11):
was a kid, and again a kid, and I saw
Mike Schmidt retire and he just couldn't get his words
out and then he starts to blubber. Do you remember that?
Of course? Yeah, it was. It was. It was impactful
because I hadn't seen that from my heroes and from
athletes as a kid. You know, that stood out to
me and I always thought that was odd. But as

(01:37:33):
an adult, I now get that. Dude. When you and
I signed off for the last time after our long run,
our historic run at Sirius XM, when we said goodbye
to that chapter right that that was like, Wow, I
didn't expect to hit that to hit me the way
it hit me. Now. Can you imagine you're Mike Schmidt
and you're saying goodbye to your Hall of Fame career, like, now,

(01:37:54):
I get that right, So I I get it. I do,
but I feel like we see it more and more
in sports emotions something men have been taught their whole
lives to bottle up and then put inside. And now
we realize that's ridiculous thinking let it out. I mean,
I must say, it would be a little cry baby,

(01:38:15):
But don't don't be scared to let it out in
the right moment when it means something, when it means yes,
when it's from the heart, like like I said, wins
and losses. That's just pouting to me. I don't like that.
I really don't. I'm glad that you care, but I
that's when I don't get it that much. But um,
I want to take a few question. Would you judge
me the answer yes, I would especially be on your

(01:38:37):
back on a deli yea and your clandestine conversations. Of course,
would you judge me that if the Mets somehow went
on to win the World Series this year and year
with me being that a forty year old guy that
hasn't seen the Mets win since I was a little boy.
If if games let's say the Mets won the World
Series and you saw me and I was like, they

(01:38:58):
did happy tears. Was that'd be okay with you? Be okay.
I've never been at a dude, I could be at
a rock show. Yeah, this is a true story. I
saw stp with with Jeff Goot, the new lead singer,
like pre Pandemic, and I'm like, what is going on
with me? They were playing I don't know, like interstate
love song he was he was pretty good too. But

(01:39:23):
then it dawned on me, like I started getting emotional
right and I started getting emotional, and it dawn on me.
Is because these songs have been a part of our
life for so long, and so much time has gone by,
we're getting older. They mean so much to us emotionally,
we have so many emotions connected to those songs. You
can't help but get emotionally because you're a human. So
I'm not judging in that way. Rich, I'm not. I'm

(01:39:45):
not trying to be, but I I do acknowledge that
we see it more and more in sports and more
and more in life. It's it's more accepted. And again
sometimes there are there are times coming all be at
a Broadway show with my wife and I get emotional
when they're all taking their curtain called bow. I'm like,
that works so hard. Yeah, like sometimes it sneaks up

(01:40:07):
on you too. I know, I get that. I get that. Um,
but when I saw last night from Danny Garcia talking
about his mental health struggles, that was pure courage and
it just capped off an awesome performance. Man, I was like,
good for this, dude. I thought that was awesome. Um,
let's talk to Jake real quick, Jake and Dallas. You're
on with Cavino en Rich live in l A and Queens,

(01:40:31):
New York. What's up, gentlemen. So I I heard your theory,
the the accidental text theory, and I wanted to expand
on that and dive into the Kyler situation with that.
Is there a chance that let's let's take that theory
expanded into that situation where Arizona probably you know, quote

(01:40:55):
unquote accidentally texted the public about you know, his preparations,
which now, so now you know, maybe that's gonna be
more effective than talking to Kyler directly and trying to
you know, to get him to be more motivated to
do at film. Yeah, at home film. I like that.

(01:41:16):
I like that. I do you know, I like I
like which is dumbass Larry David accidental text theory because
it made the whole show Tory Roger Clemen's crying story
makes sense, and and it helps make this story makes
some sense too, because now the whole public is the
public is aware of of what Kyler Murray has to

(01:41:37):
do moving forward, and it puts a little nudge on
him to continue to put the effort in without really
making it, you know, without really coming at him straightforward.
I hate that it went racial. I hate that when
it goes in directions like that, and you know it's
it's like, oh, man, didn't have to go there, but

(01:41:57):
you're right, there is a now sub conscious feeling for
all of us. It's like, oh, if Calamari under delivers,
we're all gonna think Waltz's preparation the Cardinals told us, well, yes,
actually extra extra eys and years on how he prepares
moving forward though, and Rich to wrap up this conversation, um,
here is Danny Garcia after his win against Jose Benavidez

(01:42:20):
last night. Again, big comeback after struggling with a lot
of depression, anxiety, anxiety and depression, and I'll just try
my best to stay strong. Guess it you know, the
public rarely sees this in athletes. They only hear about it.
Can you describe what that's like while you're going through it?

(01:42:40):
And how you how you attempt to overcome it? How?
Don't know? It was just the pressure, the pressure of life,
the pressure boxing, being a good dad. She's lending it
out right now. I'm just lending it outside. Wait only
for a year and a half. And I know the
only way to get better to fight it had to win.
I'm gonna fighting. That is what I do and I
love to do. And I know this is how have

(01:43:03):
you beat on anxiety and depressiondn't get over it? So
what I did to night, I can't hear problem hard
out and is it an ongoing process? I still battle
some days. I do battle some days after some dark days,
but I try my best day. Uh positive, But I
feel good now as you can see. How gave the
fans a great show to night. Thank you for coming out,

(01:43:23):
and he said don't use him as to new Michael
Jordan crime and everyone gotta laugh. But that was very real, man.
That was Danny Garcia with Jim Gray, and Jim Gray
did a great job with that, and I gotta tell
you Rich, I've always been a Danny Swift Garcia fan.
I respect him so much more in a roote for him,
so much harder after seeing his truth and the reality
of it last night on that stage. So, like I said,

(01:43:45):
there there's times when it's appropriate and times where I
just don't get it, and that's just me. But I
thought that was awesome And that was again Danny Garcia
last night. You know you're speaking of the fight game.
We you know we're almost out of time. On our
show tonight was cancer. Yeah. I was gonna say, there's
so many things I still want to get to real quick.
Are we gonna lose patience if Jake Paul keeps canceling

(01:44:06):
fights because it's not him, Hassin Rockman, they're saying couldn't
make weight. I don't know if that's the truth or what.
Maybe he couldn't sell tickets, who the heck knows, But
that fight has been canceled. So he's saying Tommy Fury
fumbled and Hassin Rockman crumbled and he lost out on
the biggest paid day of his life because that fight
is now canceled August six, So Jake Paul and and

(01:44:27):
uh Hassin Rockman might not see it is probably never
gonna see the light of day. That guy lost the
Big Weather. I just wonder Covino, like when and if
he fights. Yeah, Connor McGregor and n Daz or someone
of that caliber, we will watch. But I do feel
like our patients will eventually run out with Jake Paul
if he doesn't fight soon. It's like, come on, dude,
let's let's let's see what if you want us to
watch and care, let's do something. Or he follows in

(01:44:49):
his brother's footsteps and uh joins the w w A. Yeah,
that's that's a possibility. So yeah, Jake Paul not happening.
Let me ask you this and we'll go to an
update with dude Steve the Seger. I I know that
this happens in every contract negotiation, not in sports, not
only in music, not only in whatever you do for

(01:45:11):
a living. You could be a salesperson, the dentist, the
truck driver, whatever the hell you do. There's an art
of negotiating when you get a job, correct that, there's
an art there. You don't want to look too anxious,
but you want to be grateful and show everyone that
you're you're in a t win it right. How do
you feel about, now that the contract has been signed
for DK Metcalf and the Seattle Seahawks that he said, yeah,

(01:45:34):
I was gonna be here as much as I bluff
because I was really just bluffing. I wasn't leaving, just
to let you all know. Now that now that the
contract has done, is it? Is it a good Yeah?
You're right. It's a good look that the fans like, yo,
he wants to be here, so again dropping almost like
equivalent of the accidental text like your fans, just so
you know, I want to be here. I was bluffing

(01:45:55):
the whole time. I think it is a good look.
I yeah, I final. I'm with his honesty there, you know,
after the fact, like, hey, I was just doing I
have to do because like Spots said earlier, it's a business.
You know, this is all business, whether we're talking movies
and stallone or or sports in this case, it's a business.
So he was just playing his business side, but his
heart wanted to stay. If he was honest there. I

(01:46:16):
respect that and the fans and respect that too. I
think that's cool. I'm amazed how some athletes seem to
really know how to I'm not saying work over the fans,
but some athletes know how to say the right things,
and others are like freaking clueless, and I just don't
get it like a lot, especially right now with the
trade deadline, there's a couple of players that are on

(01:46:38):
bunk teams that are gonna end up on contenders. I
noticed this with vogel Back on the Mets. He's been
very vocal about I'm happy. Yeah, he's been very vocal
back vogel Back about how I'm happy to be here.
I love the guys at the clubhouse. These guys are winners.
He's he's saying the right things. Then you see other

(01:47:00):
guys that are like, yeah, I wasn't true, it was
gonna go anywhere, but I'm here and hey, let's go.
It's like, dude, all you need to say is a
couple of key sentences and the fans, you get them,
you want them behind you. Of course, all you need
to say, let's say you get trade it to the Dodgers.
All you need to say is, you know, Dodgers got
the best team in baseball, and I'm ready to contribute

(01:47:22):
and I'll be ready to wear that Dodger blue and
I'm ready to you know, push forward to a World Series.
Some people are like, dude, when Matt Carpenter made it
to the Yanks, right, he's the big story was he
told the Mets management and Cashman and Boone that he
would carry the bags if it meant to play for

(01:47:44):
a winning team like the New York Yankees, he would
carry their luggage and he would do everything it took
to be a part of that team. That's how much
it meant him. So when the public hears that you
already got the fans on your side, yeah, I think
it works for any team. You you you know, you
get you get traded to a team, you get moved
somewhere in the NFL, NBA, anywhere. All you need to

(01:48:06):
do is say like one or two nice things about
the fan base in the city, and you you already
have engraciated yourself to them. And so many players and
so many players don't do it, not good at it. Yeah,
and it's just coming. It's like relationship sense. Right. Well,
there's there's two people you always gotta thank. It's always you,
thank God, right, I mean, any fight, and then you

(01:48:27):
gotta thank the fans for coming out and I gotta
thank you the fans. You've got the best fans of
the world. Fox Sports Nation, thank you. You know you're
the best. People just want Yeah, people love that, man,
People love that. So DK metcalf definitely did the right
thing there. He plays playing it right, playing it right,
all right, Steve the Sager, any updates in the world
of trade deadline, We're gonna have to wait till tomorrow

(01:48:51):
and Tuesday. Anyone working in the wee hours on the weekend.
And it's not early Tuesday deadline. It could be late
in the day Tuesday. So yeah, tonight, but stay tuned.
We almost get two full days of that. You were talking.
NFL is DK mccalf and Deebo Samuel and A J.
Brown all represented by the same guy at CIA, according
to NFL writer Aaron Wilson, who retweeted A J. Brown

(01:49:12):
saying tonight, basically we all got the same contract. Deebo
Samuel as three year extension with the forty Niners worth
close to sixty mill guaranteed. According to NFL Network. He
had fourteen touchdowns last season in sixteen games, six receiving
tds and eight rushing. The decision on a suspension four
Browns quarterback to Shaun Watson is expected tomorrow morning. Whatever

(01:49:33):
the decision, the players Union says it will not appeal,
and it called on the league not to either. Basketball
Hall of Famer Bill Russell died at the age of
eighty eight. He won eleven NBA titles with the Celtics
after winning Olympic gold in nineteen fifty six. After winning
back to back college national titles at the University of
San Francisco, Henrik Stenson took the LIB Golf event in

(01:49:54):
New Jersey. Dustin Johnson tied for second place two strokes back.
Phil Mickelson finished thirty five at of the forty eight golfers,
he was six over par and still learned close to
a hundred fifty thousand dollars for the weekend. Tony Finow
took the PGA Tournament in Detroit by five strokes. He
also won last week in Minnesota. Tyler Reddick won the
NASCAR Raised at Indies Road Course. Austin Cindric finished second

(01:50:16):
in women's soccer. England won the euro Championship in overtime
to one against Germany to Major League Baseball at San
Francisco Tonight. Four runs in the fourth did the trick
for the Giants, beating the Cubs for nothing. Cubs offense
went four for thirty one with thirteen strikeouts. The Giants
will host the Dodgers in a four game series starting
Tomorrow night. Dodgers seven three winners at Colorado today. Winning

(01:50:39):
picture Tony Gonsolin went five innings on the Hill. He's
now twelve and one. Freddie Freeman had three more hits,
but he still got rocked at the All Star Game.
He got rocked before that. Before and after the All
Star Game, he has had noticeably different starts. I mean
it took him over ninety pitches today, noticeably different starts
his last few routings, not just the All Star Game.

(01:51:00):
Freeman with three hits today and the win. The Padres
got a victory at home three two over Minnesota, the
twins of the first place team in the AL Central.
Just a game over Cleveland two up on the White Sox.
Cleveland won its game five three at Tampa Bay, beating
the All Star starter Shane McClanahan, who was ten and three.
White Sox gotta win four one over Oakland. Winning picture
Dylan Cease, now eleven and four for the White Sox

(01:51:22):
e r A two point zero one Houston and ten
and Nings defeated Seattle three two. Rookie of the Mariners,
maybe rookie of the year this year. Julio Rodriguez placed
on the injured list hit by pitch on the risk
this weekend. Steve, can we put that whole Otani or
Aaron Judge m v P question to rest? Yeahst two weeks? Yes, absolutely,
it's done. He's batting three hundred. He's killing everybody in

(01:51:44):
Homer's and RB I done. The only thing he's not
killing the league in is is in walks because Juan
Soto owns that department faceball. But Soto is hitting about
two forty. So yeah, it's over. Absolutely over Texas with
the three run double top of the ninth five two
winners at the Angels Kansas City with a three run
homer top of the night by Salvador Perez. Beat the

(01:52:06):
Yankees in New York eight six, Toronto and Cincinnati with
wins Boston as well. In fact, Boston's win was against
Milwaukee seven to the Brewers are the first place team
in the EDL Central, three games over the Cardinals. St.
Louis one five nothing at Washington the Mets won their
sixth straight nine three at Miami, and pitcher Jacob deGrom
will make his season debut for the Mets on Tuesday

(01:52:26):
night at Washington. Atlanta down to Arizona one nothing, beating
Mark Mlanson, who's three and nine this year, run on
the bottom of the ninth Kennelly Jansen to win. He's
had some struggles e r A about three and a half,
but he is five and oh in relief of the
Braves this year. And Philadelphia won its fifth straight game
eight two at Pittsburgh Kyle Schwarber. It's thirty third homer.
He's batting two oh four. Pittsburgh has lost seven games

(01:52:49):
in aerobic hitten bomb but two oh four. Man, we
different game that we're watching. Could only wish to have
a season like, yeah, shore Burn is gonna be I
could probably, I mean, I could promise you at the
end of the season, he'll be the lowest batting average
to ever have the home run title probably major League
baseball history. Yeah, different different game, different stats, importance and

(01:53:12):
different stats. You know, So three quick baseball notes. I
wanted to ask all you guys and everyone checking us
out on Fox Sports Radio, Tim Anderson on the White Sox.
Do you feel like a little harsh on the suspension?
I know you can't touch an umpire, but do you
think the little like getting too close where he beat
technically touched him was too much or what? Did you

(01:53:35):
see the video for that? I did? Yeah, man, I
I don't. I understand passion levels. We discussed that with
the Clement State, right, I get it. Tensions are high,
but rules are rules. Yeah, alright, that's right. So I'm
not man at him for it, and I get it.
But yeah, he did put his he did put his

(01:53:55):
hands on him, but you're right he touched him. Um
is everyone else completely well aware? How Edwin Diaz on
the Mets is pitching almost on a cy young level,
even though he's a closer like this guy's. I've never
seen anything like this ever Camino, at least on my
team or in the National League. Marianna Rivera even at moments,

(01:54:15):
I don't know if he looked like this. That's the ludicrous. Yeah,
your mind, Edwin d is striking out the side on
like ten pitches. Every Dana Rivera did it for consecutive
years at a time. I'm not taking anything away from
what he's doing. But I'm taking away from what you
just said and just simply based on record alone. If
Gonsolin on the Dodgers, I know Steven Steve Disager said

(01:54:37):
of stuff isn't quite the same and as E. R.
A is creeping up into the two is a bit more.
It was like, you know, under two the whole first
half of the season. If he just gets that run support,
he's twelve and one. If he goes like twenty and two,
does he win the cy young just based on that
record when you're if you're twenty and two, and I
know records not what it used to be, But can
you commend being to the guy could be twenty and two?

(01:55:00):
I think so. But again I'm like, I come from
the old school place where those stats still matter to me.
You know two, that's that's impressive? How can how can
you want on that note? Will come back? Some final
thoughts came a reretch on Fox Sports Radio. Yeah, all right,
welcome back to Caveno and Rich Steve Cavino from Union,

(01:55:24):
New Jersey here in l a break dancing with the
best of them, popping and locking. Yep, that's what I
think it. And first scratch and that's Rich Davis, Franklin Square,
Long Island, visiting family and queens. We joined forces like
radio Voltrons to do the best show we can on

(01:55:46):
Fox Sports Radio. We got Spotty here Bo Bo. He's
in full Laker uniform right now. Real fired up about
the season, of course, Danny G. He's always dressed in
Raiders Colors Raiders on Thursday and already, G Is that wild?
Is it crazy? Is it crazy to think we're already
back there? Like Danny G, it's pretty cool that we've
known you, Bobo and the whole Fox team for coming

(01:56:08):
up on a year now. We've gone through a whole
football season and we're we're about to dive into season two,
and so we've we've been with you each other watching
our teams for one year. It's pretty crazy to think
we're starting up again. And the NFL season with you
guys on this show is pretty amazing. I remember the
back and forth on some games last year and us
videotaping everybody's reaction and just a lot of fun. Well yeah, dude,

(01:56:33):
that was so much fun. So I'm so ready for that.
I'm not as ready as Danny, because, like I said,
he's all dressed up for for Thursday. You know who's ready,
you know, not to get off a football, you know
who's ready. Won Soto quoted as saying, I just want
to get it over with. As far as the trade deadline,
he's saying, like, that's kind of whereever I'm gonna go,
he goes. Whatever's gonna happen, just happened. I can't like

(01:56:54):
he wants it over with quote, I just want to
get it over with. So in the next forty eight hours,
what if he doesn't go in where and the Nationals like, no,
nothing good enough, and he's stuck on some terrible thirty
win team. Yeah, I mean it's possible, but I'd like
to think that he's gonna end up in one of

(01:57:14):
four places. That's pretty much what's gonna happen. It's either
gonna be the Yankees, Mets, Dodgers, maybe the Cardinals as
we discussed earlier. But the next forty eight hours should
be really interesting. And you know what, as we get
closer to the baseball postseason, and by the way, my
favorite time of year baseball postseason lining up at the
beginning of the NFL season. To me, some people talk
about March got marchters you go. Now, to me, best

(01:57:38):
part of the sports season is a kickoff of the
NFL that coincides with baseball playoffs heating up. Like to me,
that's when I'm in all my glory and plus my
birthdays August nine, so yeah, yeah, and I you know
that in the um even something is what you would

(01:57:58):
consider usually well, that's a or in division the Al Central.
The fact that three teams were within a game of
each other just shows you that the trade deadline means
a little something different now because with the three wild
cards and some of these divisions being pretty toy. Everyone
in the White Sox played awful this whole season so far.
There one game above five, but they're only two games

(01:58:20):
out of the division lead. All you gotta do is
be in it to win it. So you know, if
I'm a White Sox fan, I feel like this is
sort of a victory. When you get this far and
you played mediocre at best and you're in it to
win it. You can't answer anything more. Fifty sixty games left,
and there's so many teams that are gonna be fighting
for those wild card spots and fighting to stay healthy too. Man, dude,
the whole health, the whole a L East, the Mariners

(01:58:44):
in the West, and the Central. I guess that there's
three teams fighting for that in the Nationally, the Mets
and Braves played twelve times, could be five times next week. Yeah,
anyone tells me baseball they're not into it. I'm telling
just gets your stuff. Yeah, they were not good little
league players. So thank you guys for hanging out with us.

(01:59:05):
Steve Cavino twenty seven little league home runs. Rich Davis
had a few too, appreciate hanging out with you. Thanks
to the whole Fox Sports radio crew over here. Rest
in peace boat Russell and I'll see you guys next week.
I had read it there may see you in the
Promised Land. Goodbye.
