Speaker 1 (00:01):
Don't listening to Fox Sports. Yo, what's up, buddy? So
I'm ready. I'm gonna bring it today. I hope you're
ready Cano, Yo. Rich is fired up? Can anyone contain Rich? Doodle?
Davis live in l A. I'm actually live in Idaho.
It's Cavino and Rich Fox Sports Sunday. Are you there
(00:21):
for the big potato drop again? It's not a sweet
potato in my pants, Rich, I'm just excited to be here.
Perfect good baked potato guy. Yeah. Top three ways you
would eat a potato Idaho boy, now that you're there. Now,
now that you're there, would just say French fries Number one?
Are you going baked potato? Poppas popa anyway here in Idaho?
(00:45):
And what a weekend it's been. I hope you had
a Virgil Ortiz sort of weekend, Jacob deGrom sort of weekend.
We're gonna have a Fox Sports Sunday Funday tonight eight seven,
seven ninety nine on Fox again. I'm Steve Covino that
has Davis. The phones are open eight seven seven Fox
or hit us up at Covino and Rich. It's been
(01:05):
an action pack weekend. Rich. I'm living in the Idaho lifestyle,
Man life, the river life. That wasn't a rhetorical question.
I did want to know your top three potato choices.
I mean baked, bro baked. What are you putting on it? Though?
But yeah about twice baked, twice baked dandy. If you're
going potatoes, you gotta go French fries baked potato. Are
(01:29):
you done with like an all grotten at a steakhouse?
You know what? Yeah? I never turned down at all groten.
My mom always asked me, you want a grotten potato,
Stephen with your London broil, And I'll say, of course, Mom,
absolutely bring it. So, yeah, I'm here in Idaho, and
before we talk about the GRAM, I know you're on
the edge of your seat to talk about the GRAM,
and deservingly so. The guy's on fire and we're gonna
(01:50):
talk about grom Oh you know what else, We're gonna
talk about tripping out on ayahuasca Aaron Rodger style. We
gotta talk some drugs. We gotta talk talk about NFL,
whether or not you should play in the preseason. We'll
dive into some NFL, some life, some baseball, a little
of everything with comin on Richie. Yeah, and whatever you
guys want to talk about. We're here to have fun, SOX.
(02:12):
But I gotta tell you about my day today. I
did something today that I've never done before, and I'm
here to tell you that I think it's the best
recreational sport that I've ever participated in. You know, a
lot of people are like, hey, man, you golf, and
I'm like, not yet, you know, maybe someday, I don't know,
and but not now. My girlfriend's dad said, hey, you
(02:35):
want to go fly fishing. I've never been fly fishing. Remember,
I'm a bonehead from New Jersey. I live in Los Angeles,
but I've never been fly fishing in my life. So
I couldn't say no. And I was interested. Our good
buddy Henry Winkler, the Fons always talking about fly fishing,
love fly fishing, right, So there's an intrigue there. And
I gotta tell you, dude, I'm like the Roy Hobbs
(03:00):
of fly fisherman. I didn't know. I was like, either
one of two things are gonna happen. I'm gonna come here,
I'm gonna have beginner's luck, or it's gonna be the
worst experience ever, right Because I'm this city boy in
someone from Idaho's eyes, right, I get there, dude, don't
California my Idaho. Yeah, well, dude, I get there. We
actually go into Oregon, right, and it's beautiful river and
(03:25):
all of a sudden, her dad's yelling at me, set
the hook. Set the hook, dude. I get one right
off the bat. I got a big brown fish. Like dude,
like dude reeling them in. Put it this way. I
just want to let you know that I'm the Roy
Hobbs of fly fishing. I think it might be my
next thing before golf. Like, I don't think I'll ever
get to golf. I think this is my recreational How
(03:47):
do you do so? Like skip softball? You don't want
to play pick up basketball the gym golf. You're like,
I don't know five. I guess they're called brown fish.
I got five browns in one rainbow fish, but I
lost like six. I lost. I had like six others,
so I would have had like twelve. I would have
had twelve. I had twelve. I got six of them,
(04:07):
and I had a really impressive day, dude. I had
a really good day in the sun, in the river,
and it was everything that are good pal Henry Winkler
has taught us about. You know, it's fly fishing. You
gotta catch the fish, you must keep tensioning on it fish.
You have to reel the fish. You must let the
fish go, bring the fish back. You gotta let the
fish go, bring the fish back. You gotta let the
(04:28):
fish go. You gotta be one with the river. And uh,
it was quite the experience. Man. You gotta get out
there and really see what it's about, because it's it's
a sport of trial and error. Really is a sport.
Yet you're sort of just one with nature and just
sort of taking it all in. It's very therapeutic at
the same time, and I guess you know, you know
how golf is relaxing and it's it's a getaway, yet
(04:52):
it's also very frustrating. It's the same thing with catching
fish because you got it and you and you're reeling
it in and you're setting the but then you lose
it and it's so frustrating, and then you're waiting again
for like another hour before you get anything biting again,
and you're making adjustments. I gotta tell you, dude, the
natural had a blast. You don't mean dude, I'm Mr reluctant.
(05:12):
I didn't really see myself as a fisherman. But hey,
look at me, now, well you're wearing is that when
you go like waist deeply? Where are we wearing like
like great pants? Yeah, you're you're wearing the boots, You're
wearing the whole spield, wearing a look and wearing a
fly fisherman. Sure, as we speak, candy downs, are you
gonna actually buy some some clothes for the fishing. Here's
(05:36):
the thing with any recreational sport or new hobby, it's
always expensive. And that's what I was noticing, right, everything
involved in fly Again, this is a new experience to me.
So I'm I'm noticing everything everything involved with fly fishing.
The bags, the waiters, the boots, the pulse. All this
very expensive and her dad had a lot of it
(05:58):
for me. But I rented the uh they're called waiters, right,
He's what they're called. I rented the boots and the
pants and the you know, they're like suspenders or whatever
they are, and it's all waterproof. But it's a very
expensive hobby, much like anything else. But I gotta tell you, Rich,
I'm I'm I'm this close to saying life changing experience. Wow,
(06:19):
it was that cool. I have a better question, and
Danny g and what's up, Bobbo? How you doing? Man? How?
How how long were you alone with the girlfriend's dad?
It wasn't just me and him, it was me him,
his son in law, his actual son in law. I'm
just the bozoh you knows, dating his daughter and yeah,
(06:39):
and one of his buds. You know, we're having drinks,
we're having sandwiches. But it was very much a sport
because you're competing not only with everyone else there, and
I had the most thank you, but and I'm learning
at the same time, but you're competing with yourself and
his patients and his the river and his trial and error,
and you're learning. You know, you're casting. You know. That
was the hardest part about it was are you much
(07:00):
a sport? Which was a surprise to me. You know,
I don't know a whole lot about fly fishing. Again,
I only know what he's told me about it, and
what are good budd Henry Winkler the Fonds has told
us about it, and you know some other friends of
ours that have done it. But you Rich, being a
competitive guy, would have very much have enjoyed it fly fishing,
(07:21):
fly fishing. We'd never have thought a guido from Jersey
like you. That's what's funny about it, would be the
fly fisherman who knew. I got a question. So you
were out there? It was you said, three of you, right,
four of us, four of us? Okay, how much did
the topic of marriage come up? Good question, Bubba, good question.
What does that have to do with sport? No? No,
it was. It was out there with your girlfriend's his
(07:45):
buddy was there, and his son and the son of
law was there. So you're getting looked at, like, so
there's stuff on our fingers, so yours is? There was?
No it was. It was a relaxing adventure, no talk
of that. It was all about the sport. Were in
the bonding and the the being one with the river
sort of thing. There was no pressure put on me,
(08:05):
And that's what were you thinking. Were you thinking there
was gonna come a point where he's comino get over here,
young man? Like did you think? But now that this
is part of my future, I'm even more excited about
the future. You know what I mean? You can use
the father in love for gear. I stay with you'll
stay with your girl just so you can go fly picture.
I'm just thinking things are looking even better than I
(08:26):
thought after this experience. That's a really good question from Bobo,
because as I was typing the description for the podcast
that publishes that right after the show, I wrote, Covino
is in Idaho with future in laws. But then after
I typed it, I was like, can I say that? Yeah? Absolutely, Yeah.
We've been together for a long time and this was
like a next level experience and a total bonding experience
(08:48):
for sure. And you know, her dad was just helping
me out, help me learn the ways of the river
and the river Listen, did you did you feel like
you were in a Robert red Ford movie the River?
He's like Kevin Bacon. He's like Kevin Bacon, what's that
movie when we're kids? Are the river wild? Look at you? Look?
You know how people come back from a day of
(09:11):
golf and they're like, oh, it's just beautiful to be
outside and competing and hanging out with friends. Very much
the same thing. The scenery was beautiful. Setting the hook,
you catch the fish, you must keep tension on the fish.
You have to feel the fish. You must let the
fish got, We getta let the fish go, bring the
fish back. You gotta let the fish go. You're you're
(09:31):
just competing with yourself, Rich, and I'm telling you, you
know it's it's this is Fox Sports Radio. And of
course we're gonna talk to Graham and baseball and football
and some good fights over the weekend. But how often
do people come here and talk about their fishing experience
as far as recreational sport and just again competing with
oneself and everyone there. I think we're more I think
(09:52):
we're more intrigued of what the father in law was
talking to you about. I think, if anything, I impressed him.
I don't look the fit. Like if you're new to
Fox Sports Radio, Coveno and Rich, to look at me
is not to think, oh he must be a great fisherman,
you would probably think the exact opposite. But I was game,
I was ready, I came, I saw, I delivered. It
was fun, man, and a great learning experience. Was that
(10:16):
the greatest? No? Did I learn a lot today? Yes?
So I would love to go out there with you, man,
for sure. But you know the g you look hot
in some waiters to the trend in television is all
these survival shows, so you feel like you could survive
in the wild. Now, think about it, the wild. He
just got done watching alone and a lot of those
(10:36):
guys gave up because they couldn't catch fish. Yeah, but
you know you still have that like you're trying to
get the hook out of the you know, the fish's mouth.
It's so wigly. You're still part of me. That's you know,
still learning the tricks of the trade. You gotta remember, guys,
I'm a former guido from New Jersey. Fly Fishing isn't
(10:59):
something I grew up doing, so quite the experience. I
just want to share it with you and and for
all the guys out there who know what I'm talking about.
I mean, at least back me up before we move on.
Eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox, Keep Breathing on Netflix,
Alone on Netflix, um on Showtime, Yellow Jackets, all these
shows about survival. I think the trend that is the trends.
(11:20):
And look at you. You're now a fly fisherman before
our very eyes. You won't fill it. You won't fill
in on a softball team, you won't play pick up
basketball the gym. Yeah, but you'll go fly fishing. I
gotta tell you, out of all those recreational like hobby
type of things, right, because people don't golf to go pro.
They're doing it because it's fun and it's the next
stage of their life and it's their hobby. I think
(11:41):
this is for me, the most competitive and the most fun.
I think, yeah, this is something I could see myself
doing moving forward, you know. But unfortunately I don't live
in Idaho. I'm just visiting Idaho now. So that was
my Sunday. I'm fresh from it. Look at this tan
I got. So that was my Sunday. Surprisingly in a
good mood, considering the Yankees have lost five in a row.
I wish I was just gonna say that I get
(12:02):
back to civilization signal kicks in. I put the Yankee
game on, and they're just disgusting. They're just playing terrible.
And I know I'm spoiled because they've had quite the
season so far, but man, stinking like a Blincoln. I
believe they're fourteen and eighteen in their last thirty two games.
They were gonna hit a rough patch. I told you this,
(12:22):
and you were all like, yeah, bro. They were look
at the line up, and I said, there comes a
point in every team season, no matter how good you are,
a hundred win, teams go through a month of struggle.
And if you thought the Yankees were gonna win a
hundred and thirty games, I told you. I said, there's
gonn a couple of months. You're lucky it's on the playoffs. Well,
let's be clear. The rough patch is the patch of
hair my dad has um right above the crack of
(12:45):
his butt. Yeah, the rough patch. That that gramp stamp
that he has, that patch of hair, that's the rough patch. Um. Well, anyway,
my day was full of fly fishing and then disappointment
when I saw the Yankees losing once again to the St.
Louis Cardinals, who are on fire right now. But the
story of the weekend isn't Virgil Ortiz, isn't Steve Cavinos
(13:06):
a tremendous fly fisherman. It's your boy, Jacob de grant Man.
I mean, as of today, I think it's got to
be the story because trade deadline comes and goes, and
everyone is an expert, right, Oh, this team won the deadline,
this team lost the deadline, and and then bozo fans,
like I always point out, they assume that you're GM
(13:31):
and owner could just get whatever they want. Like sometimes
a team just won't want to deal with you. And
when you look at when you look at every well, now,
hold on, there's so many factors involved in who goes where?
Does the player even want to go there? Allah? Eric Cosmer, Right,
So there's so many facts like, hey, you know the
(13:51):
Phillies got bullpen helped giving up nothing. No, the Mets didn't.
It's like, well, that's because maybe Philly had a chip
they want it, or maybe Philly has a relationship with
with like the Cubs or something. Who knows players clauses,
contract clauses, so many things involved in the trades that
(14:12):
went to But but here's my take, Capino. For everyone
that's so excited about Juan Soto and all the big
moves that the Padres have made, the Padres ain't winning
this week. Like the Padres. It's not like they got
Juan Soto and Bell and all these guys and all
of a sudden it's automatic they win. They're just it
(14:34):
doesn't work that way. And I think it's funny how
fans like, uh, stamp your ticket Padres even in Vegas.
The odds of the Padres going to the playoffs and
obviously winning the World Series went up dramatically, and I'm thinking,
let's let's slow it down. You need chemistry, you need
a lot of things to happen right in baseball. And
(14:54):
I'm here to tell you that the Mets getting Jacob
the grom Is is by far, yeah, getting him back,
because honestly, when your guy comes back the same week
as the trade deadline, it sort of feels like you
got him during the trade deadline, right, absolutely clear for
the casual fan who isn't certain that he was on
the team, Yeah, well what Boso wouldn't know that? I mean,
(15:17):
who knows not everyone's a die hard Mets guy. So
Jacob Degram comes back, and since he's been back to
short starts, but the guy has been so lights out
that it is hard to tell me that any trade
(15:38):
deadline acquisition is better than the Mets activating Jacob Degram.
You could get Soto, you could get better attendee, you
could get Robert sit out of the bullpen, you could
you could get Mancini. You can't get anyone. But if
you're trying to tell me that stacks up to what
Jacob Degram could mean, to a team. Jacob de Graham
has been lights out like Bobo during sexy time. Lights out,
(15:59):
turn him, lights out, man, lights turn them out. So
I'll take your feedback and I'm gonna get into it
a little more next. So keep your tonys on eight, seven, seven,

(17:29):
Fox Sports Sunday Again. I'm in Idaho fly fishing today.
You were like you were like a long sleeve athletic
T shirt. You are really? Are you still wearing your
rubber pants from fly fishing? You're like in the zone.
Got he's got, he's got, he's got Oakley sunburned around. Wait.
Wait are those rubber pants yours or lens? Oh? Their lens? Actually? Yeah? Wait,
(17:54):
how do I know his name? Yeah? I don't know.
How do you know that? Because he's he's he's on
the to the studio lines right now. Oh, let's welcome
Len to the Caveno and Rit Show on Fox Sports Sunday. So, Lenn,
how are you I'm doing? What? How are you? We'll good?
How did this dude do fly fishing? You know? Um?
(18:18):
It was it was like walking into a room and
seeing a puppy when he caught that first fish, and
the puppy just peas it all over himself. He's so happy.
That's how you an? Yeah, I wasn't like, man, yeah,
it was so cool. Man. I want to thank Lenn
Intrinsic Sports where buddy, Steve Colton, everybody for being super
patient with this bozo. But yeah, Lenn is my my
(18:39):
girlfriend's dad, and he saw me in my glory. Lenn,
was he really the natural? He did well? He did well.
I mean, there's so much to learn to this thing,
but you know he listened and he did well. Yeah,
well your well, your buddy and your other son and
your son in last sizing him up or now. Oh
of course between him and Colton, there's always that there's
(19:02):
always that that competitiveness. You know, who's who's going to
be number one? You compete with it with the brother
in law. How comp you know, well, you know, like
like we were saying, you're competing with yourself and and
you're competing with other people. And I didn't know anything
about fly fishing. So it was a great experience, life
changing experience today. That's why I wanted to talk about
it real quick. Did Caveno, uh Lenda Comino fix his
(19:25):
hair while in the river, because Copino has been known
to like, uh, you know, always fix his hair and
make sure he's looking good. Oh dude, are you serious.
I set him up with a nice hat and everything,
and he got out there. He got that that hat
off of his head, strapped it to his thing so
his hair could still flow in the breeze. Yeah. I
wanted to look in the pictures because when you catch
your first food, you catch a nice brown, right, you
(19:45):
gotta pose with it. So I had to look just right.
But dude, a lot of people hitting us uping man
Paul Ross hit us up, saying it is the real deal.
It is quite the experience. And whether it be golf,
whether it be fly fishing, there's always got to be
something to compete. It's to fulfill your competitive juice. Is
rich something you often talk about. Nice well, Len pleasure
talking to you, man, And yeah, I was in. I
(20:09):
was gonna ask him one one last question to Bubbo
brought up a good question earlier on the show that
you know Cavino is the only one out there without
any weight on his finger? Did that come up in conversation? Well, hey,
I I gotta tell you That's why I called, you know,
because I heard that come up, and I'm like, you know,
this is my moment, and uh, we can just ask
(20:29):
it nationwide. Hey Cavino, you know the malk free Well,
you know, with your permission, when the time is right, Len,
you know, I gotta ask you nation wide. I'm gonna
say this as as a man who's doing this right now.
One is a friend. I would never throw you under
the bus like they did. I'm gonna say that already
(20:51):
because that's a lot of pressure. And second of all, um, Yeah,
if he just asked you that question, I think that's
him giving you his permission. I'm just thank you so
much and and thank you Danny Gee. I appreciate Hey,
well we could tell we could tell you no, no
lends the best. But there was talk of buying proper man.
(21:11):
Thank you man. Thanks like it was a great time. Man,
it really was. Look at that you could have that
surprised me. I was answering the lines and he's like, hey,
this is the future father in law. It was an amazing,
amazing time. You know what. That's what you don't want
to do to wrap up story just when you're hanging
with family, especially like your girl's family. But you want
to do you never want to look like a chump.
(21:32):
And the fact that you were able to hang and
fly fish and like you said, do well that that's good. Honestly,
how many times has a guy been like, yeah, I'm
going golfing or I'm uh yeah, we're dead at the
boardwalk and we're going to the batting cage. If you
do anything in front of your in laws, if you
don't feel or look athletic, all fail, especially rich when
that's the lifestyle they grew up in, right, like her
(21:53):
dad and his friends, the guys, I was there with
their very outdoorsy dudes. You know, you and I were
more at kids growing up in New Jersey and New York.
Didn't have a lot of experience doing stuff like that.
You know, yeah, I went crabbing with my dad here
and there, but fly fishing not at all. But you
know they were patient with me, and uh, you know
it wasn't experienced me. I did really well, I think
(22:15):
for my first time. Of course I was being braggadocious,
but my first time not too shabby, not too shabby
at all. Again, shout out to intrinsic Sports where and
I did talk a lot about that was the second
time he shout in the mount are they giving you
a deal on your rubber pants? Look at me, man, Yeah,
look at me man. Yeah. Absolutely, all of a sudden,
Coveno's plugging fly fishing places. Hey, I had a good time.
(22:37):
All right, let's go to arn in South Dakota. What's up,
arm Fellas. Yeah, coming to you from the eighties. First
Sturdis motorcycle rally. Then that last phone call was way
too wholesome. We need to get back to the ridiculousness.
You were talking about things you can do professionally. Bozo
fans and the Mets. We need to get whoever that
(22:59):
Mets fan was and knocked out the Braves fan. He's
got a heck of a straight right hand. We need
to get him in the ring with Logan Paul. Oh
my god, that was a brute. If anyone has not
seen that, there's a viral clip of some Mets fan
wearing at the ground jersey that had like he had
he had faster hands in Mikey Garcia. He was like,
Mikey Garcia is pretty quick. Yeah, but it's just terrible.
(23:20):
Oh and you're in South Dakota fly fishing? Is that
your thing? Or no? No more rock climbing, motorcycle riding.
It's beautiful. We don't have a whole lot of water
out here, so we gotta figure out and stuff to
do on dry land. Execr. Well, thanks for the call, brother,
have a the rest of your day. And speaking of
the Mets, I'll go back to them because I just
got to wrap up my point here. When I think
your point is pretty bold. You know, you're saying, forget
(23:42):
about wants so too, and that was the talk of
the town for for what weeks? Where is he gonna go?
You know, wh where's he gonna end up at the
trade deadline? You're saying, who cares? He's not the difference maker.
The real difference maker is Jacob deGrom. When you talk
about difference makers, look at the game right now, Dodgers
are up to nothing. I don't think Dodgers fans are
(24:05):
scared of the Padres right now. I gotta tell you,
by the way, for the record, I mean, maybe Soto
is not the difference maker yet, but he's still batting
with three fifty something. He's he's a great player. But
I'm saying so far, well, I'm saying when when you
talk about difference makers and what do you need in baseball?
(24:27):
I mean, let's let's talk about that. For a second.
You need pitching, defense, and a deep roster. A one
through six. Solid pitching is numero uno. Man, you need
solid pitching and a solid bullpen. You'll you'll ask any
baseball fan the number one complaint is my bullpen stinks.
You know, we've talked about that all. Everyone thinks that
(24:47):
the closer stinks. I can't think that's the number one
thing you need to have a winning franchise pitching. While
you could pick up a man Sini, or you could
pick up a Ben Attendee, or you could pick up
I heard Benn Attendey's Italian for sucks. Ass, it's not
he's not been working out so far. Well, guess what, Ever,
(25:10):
since Danny g dropped this on me early today, you know,
ever since the Yankees gave up Gallo, the Dodgers are undefeated,
the Yankees having won well, and the Dodgers are also
completely convinced that they could turn gallows mind set around.
It's completely uh not not completely mental, but there's some
mechanical issues that they could fix, and they think they
could get some great production out of the guy. So well,
(25:31):
they didn't give up much for him, so I sort
of like the move um. But when it comes to
biggest impact, it's hard to argue, did you see what
the Ground did today? For people that are unaware, six
in the box score will tell different story because it
will show two runs. But Jacob de Ground retired seventeen
(25:52):
guys in a row, twelve strikeouts, looked unhittable, walked the
guy on a questionable pitch, and then the next it
gave up a home run. They pulled him out. So
two runs looks deceptive because truthfully, can you know one
bad pitch home run and he left with twelve strikeouts
five and two thirds? And after seeing Shares are pitched
(26:14):
the other night, you can't not be scared of the Mets.
If you're anyone in the NL or Major League Baseball.
If these guys are on point, who wants to face
Shares are in the playoff series. I know you're pumped,
but as Danny g would say, prisoner of the moment,
you're pumped because you know the Graham's back and you
have every right to be pumped. But you think a
(26:35):
Dodgers fan feels the same way as you right now,
like they're it's not like they're slumping. I wrote this
down they're the best team in baseball by over five games. Bobbo,
Danny G. You guys are Dodgers fans. So after we
get our update with Steve the Sager, I want you
to go over some of this pitching would mean Danny G.
You're versed in this. I know you too, Bobo, Gonslin,
Anderson Kershaw if he's healthy again, are the Is this underrated?
(27:01):
Is this an underd to Steff just because the names
aren't as sexy as a as a shares or they
are they that good? Am I am? I looking at
a twelve and one Tyler Anderson and not giving him
enough credit and as one thirte one for Gonslin, Yeah,
and Anderson is throwing a gem so far today you
guys all have pictures that have ear as in the twos,
(27:23):
so I think it's I think it's fair to say
that in Dustin Maze coming back hopefully this could be.
This could be one of the greatest post season matchups
if they do collide, Guys, Mets Dodgers. If you're getting
Gonselin and Anderson and shows are into Graham and Kershaw
coming back in THEE, I think you have every reason
to be pumped, every reason to be pumped. You got
(27:45):
arguably the best one in two right there. Well, who's
your number one? Day, Jay? Before you go the update?
But the Dodgers are too solid right now? Who is
your number one? If you're starting to playoffs? Here, Let's
say it's the National League Championship next week and you're
all rested? Are you Gonsel? In first game? If Kersha
is healthy? Do you go Kersha? Based on experience? Is
Bueller back? Curious? Has a two point five seven r A.
(28:10):
The guy's dealing? Who are you more scared of? The
grammar shares her as a Dodgers fan. Oh, Sures are
on a good day? I agree? I agree, he's just
too Did you see how made he got when the
ball boy ran across the plate the other day? Oh
my god, he's curious. Yeah, he's like so fired up
(28:30):
and and mean and in his zone. Like he's way
more scary than to grin a nasty picture. But yeah,
I fear Sures are in that moment. You know. Let's
go to Steve the Sager for an update. Steve, what's
up buddy? Hello, Mr Matt, what's up buddy? By the way,
I do trust Sures are in the playoffs. I don't
trust Consil in the playoffs. So there's a huge difference.
That's the thing. Like I look at the Dodgers pictures
(28:54):
the Saga, and they really are all like thirteen one,
twelve and one, and they all have the r rays
in the two. But the names aren't proven to me.
But I could be totally wrong, right, I mean, well,
in their World Series around a couple of years ago,
I mean, Gonsolin was pitching games and it was nine innings,
nine runs. That last year it was four innings, five runs.
So and you're right about you gotta have pitching to
(29:14):
be a contender. Gotta have defense to be a contender.
It's why we don't take the Giant seriously this year
they had literally zero defense. It's why we haven't taken
the Reds and Nationals seriously. Is no pitching. I looked
it up. Who are the best pitching teams this year? Yankees, Mets, Dodgers, Houston,
Tampa Bay. And you know, I think of how many
times Yankees fell short Steve based on they had a
(29:37):
great lineup, but once the postseason came, they were out pitched. Well,
look at Trout's whole career with the Angels, we haven't
taken them seriously because they don't have that. There was
a game just this week that was the quintessential Angels game,
right They had like seven home runs and they still
and lost eight seven. Then had never happened before to say,
I thought that was like a fake meme when I
(29:58):
saw him, like I get it. Oh wait, no, that does,
because that's what you think of when you think the Angels.
Now you're right under Grom today, overpowering, unbelievable, incredible to watch.
In fact, they broke it down his first eighteen sliders,
he threw eighteen swings and missus when they attempted to
hit the pitch eighteen over eighteen against a single pitch.
(30:19):
The guy had a perfect game going with two outs
in the sixth until the walk in the homer, and
he was pulled after seventy six pitches, but had twelve
strikeouts in that limited time. Got the win Mets five
too over Atlanta. Mets first place in the n l
A six and a half games over the Brave. You
win four out of five. That's a statement I know
that had in every division. If you're playing your rival
and you win four out of five. And by the way,
(30:40):
who plays a five game series rainouts? You know, they
made it up because of the lockout. They had to
make up a game that they missed early in April. Now,
question for you if and de Gram was one out
away from taking a perfect game into the seventh inning,
if that had happened, would the Mets have pulled him
from a perfect game even more after the seventh Of course,
Kashaw got pulled. They're gonna pull the gram um. But
(31:04):
has there been a combined perfect game, Steve, I don't
think so, right. I looked at I was gonna look
at up the genetics, and there's been so few perfect games.
I did it on RBI Baseball back. Okay, yeah, okay, yeah,
if it's been done, yeah it was. I went from
Jimmy Key to Dave Brighetti. Okay. But the Kershaws, you know,
this was de gram second start in a year plus.
(31:24):
Kershaw's was his first start of the year coming off injury,
missed the playoffs last year. He had seven perfect eighty pitches.
De Gram was nearing eighty pitches. You're right, it's almost
the same thing these two. As for the Mets, by
the way, the staff combined did strike out nineteen, so
that ties the Tom Seaver record for a nine inning
game for the Mets, and David cone Braves went two
(31:45):
for twenty nine at the plate. Yes, it was a
statement weekend. And in the NL Central, the Cardinals are
not only alone in first their two games up on
the Brewers. Now Cardinals have won seven in a row,
beat the Yankees twelve to nine, despite four more RBIs
from Aaron Judge, he has nineteen and counting five straight
losses for the Yankees. The Mets record is seventy and
thirty nine. Yankees now seventy and thirty nine. Cardinals with
(32:09):
the winning streak again first place, and the Brewers lost
in ten innings at home, four to to Cincinnati. And
in the AL Central, the Twins are first place, but
they lost in ten innings at home, while the two
teams chasing him, Cleveland and the White Sox, each one.
Cleveland's only a game out in the a L Central,
and the White Sox are only two games out and
the suspension of White Sox shortstop Tim Anderson was reduced
(32:30):
to two games. Cleveland's win was one nothing over Houston Today.
Houston's offense too for ten strikeouts. Houston pitcher Lance mccullar's Jr.
Was having another rehab start tonight at Triple A. We
can give you the update on Fernando Tatise Jr. He
started for the Padres a rehab assignment at Double A
last night. He went over two with two walks. He
(32:52):
is playing at San Antonio tonight and is over three
so far. At Dodger Stadium, l A winners of seven
straight lead you Darvish in the adres to nothing in
the bottom of the fifth solo homer for Cody Bellinger.
NASCAR went at Michigan for Kevin Harvick, breaking a sixty
five race winning drought, his first win in nearly two years.
Bubba Wallace finished second. He had started from the poll,
(33:13):
a first for him in his Cup Series career. Cleveland
Browns will not grant the trade request of running back
Kareem Hunt. He'd been skipping team drills until today wanted
a contract extension. Back to you. Thank you, Steve Disager.
We're Covino and Rich Fox Covin own Rich on social media,
shout out to the iHeart radio app, Fox Sports Radio
(33:34):
dot com and are stomping grounds s x M eight three. Now, Rich,
I don't think there's any real debate here. I think
you're absolutely right. There are people always going to be
more impactful than a position player anyway. So the Graham
over Soto, that's way more of an impactful move. Yeah,
I mean, I just look at it and say, what's
gonna Of course, a star player makes an impact, but
(33:55):
you know, Mike Trout is a star player if you
don't have the pitching of the team around you exactly.
And I just think that you know, guys that watched
the Padres even closer, you know n L West fans
that see them or more often if you're a Giants
fan or a Dodgers fan, the Padres pitching well good.
I don't think is lining up in a playoff way
(34:15):
as threatening as what the Mets are Dodgers pitching looks like.
Now even the Yanks, can, you know. I mean, I
know Garret Cole got rock the other day, but yeah,
some people are saying, I'll probably never be the same
picture I was in Houston. But you know, I'm I'm
I'm working, I'm working my best uh for the Yankees,
and yeah, Garrett Cole is uh, he's just not pitching
(34:38):
his best. But you know who's pitching pretty good? Uh,
Jordan Montgomery for the St. Louis Cardinals. Yeah, now that
you uh, now that you unloaded him for really nothing exactly.
And Danny g let's let's not on baseball because I
want to dime into football. I'm so excited football. It's
like my kids start school next week and football has
already started. Like where the hell did this year go? Yeah,
talk about southern California. School start on ninth, which is Tuesday.
(35:01):
It's unbelievable. So like school starting up and football's right there.
I'm just usually not still interested in baseball because my
Mets are usually out of it by now. But Danny,
do you do you realize that home field advantage in
the World Series. Now we're looking way far ahead, but
Mets Yankees um A's not his braves teams thought that
no matter what, well, we're not going to get home
(35:22):
field in the World Series because of the Yankees, not
that the Yankees have settled down. Open the door. You
guys have the better. You guys have the best record
of baseball by five games, so you hold the destiny
to home field throughout the World series. I read a
crazy Dodgers stat yesterday that if the Dodgers went the
rest of the season under five hundred, they'd still win
a hundred games. Yeah, Dodgers are just under five hundred,
(35:45):
they still would win a hundred games. It's crazy and
that's why them Back to here de Graam take Rich,
you know, being the best I guess acquisition being healthy again.
Well yeah, because if you wait, but it wouldn't be
as impactful if sure as there wasn't in the mix,
you know what I mean, it's the one to punch
right there that really makes it a bigger deal. But
to prove the point, Cavino, if I told you right now,
(36:07):
if you're a New York Mets fan and you were
given the option to Graham's healthy and comes back like
he did, or you get Soto but you don't get
the ground back I I rather, I think dance is
clear there. Do you want Soto and the Graham's not available,
or you have said I forget the Soto thing. To
Graham just being healthy again is a bigger impact, and
(36:28):
I think that's how you look at it. So we
got more Cavino and Rich with some NFL, some goodness.
Next right here on Fox Sports Radio, Cavino and Rich.
He also got Danny g and Bobo on the Ones
and two. Steve to Seger and thank you for hanging
out Fox Sports Sunday. I hope you had a Virgil
(36:49):
Ortiz victorious sort of weekend, some good fights, some good baseball,
the Grom sort of weekend, a Dodger sort of weekend,
a Cardinals unfortunately for me, a Yankees fan of Ardinal
sort of weekend. We're having a great Sunday Covino and
Rich dot com, Fox Sports Radio dot com, and we
want your phone calls now at eight, seven, seven nine
(37:09):
on Fox, the most inclusive show on Fox Sports Radio,
according to US Steve Covino, that's Rich Davis and Rich.
We gotta talk a little football. And that was that.
I know it's old news now, by the way, but
Bobo played Jack Harlow. Remember that Cliff during the NBA
season where the refs are like, I don't know who
he is? Who's that kid? And they got the ref's
(37:29):
daughter contact him. He goes, that's Jack Harlow. Dad. He
was curious who the dude was sitting courtside. Yeah, funny Cliff.
That made the social media around so um football back
in action. I feel like I feel like a fool
for not betting on your Raiders, Danny g not because
people playing the preseason, but the fact that the Jags
(37:52):
played no one of importance, like they they're there, they're
going by the model of we're not gonna play people
in the preseason, and your Raiders just seem like they
came there to play. I know, it's a preseason game
where the Jags seemed like they didn't even come there
to play. Yeah, Josh Jacobs and some of the starting
OH line at least was on the field. The other
Raiders starters obviously we're missing, but you know, the Raiders
(38:14):
still look like they were there with a purpose, whereas
the Jags did not look like that. There. There's gotta
be on that, Rich. Why are you so bent on
you know, certain players not playing. No, I'm not bent
on it. By the way, the preseason since it's been reduced.
Now you've noticed even last year, and you're gonna notice
it again. I could promise you the first couple of
(38:35):
weeks of the NFL season last year, if you remember,
we're a little sloppier than usual because there was a
you know, a tendency to be like, well, that is
a lot of people's preseason because we're not going to
suit up for the preseason. Then weeks one to maybe
even three, you're still getting some of the rust out.
But I do have a problem with unestablished rookie second
(39:02):
year players, third year players, especially once with new coaching
staffs not playing. When you see Trevor Lawrence just chilling
on the sideline, you know what I'm thinking to myself,
new quarterback coach, Mike McCoy, Doug Peterson, new head coach,
Press Taylor, new offensive coordinator. So he's dealing with all
new people in Jacksonville, and they're like, no, now, we're
cool with a guy that um had twelve touchdowns, seventeen
(39:23):
interceptions and went three and fourteen last year to just chill.
I mean Tom Brady could chill. I mean Russell Watson.
Brady can't chill. He has a new center, so he
can't really chill exactly. That's why you gotta take reps.
That's why I hear what you're saying. You got all
these new pieces of new parts. It makes sense that
he played, But maybe there's more than meats. T I
maybe maybe he's not feeling that good, you know, would
(39:46):
be anything, you know, I I gotta it's not that
he's not feeling good. Comm that's ridiculous. Maybe it's tummy hurts.
You know, you don't know. I mean, no, they're like,
I think they're trying to keep him safe with the
two mentalities. Are you McVeigh or you Harbor? Because John
Hardball thirty nine and twelve as a head coach in
(40:06):
the preseason, that's a seven sixty four winning percentage. Meanwhile,
McVeigh with the rams he is, he's the guy that
have started the trend of you know, I don't start
any of my starters at all. And you know that
guy has been to two Super Bowls in one one.
So maybe that's the way. I mean, when you're making
investments like that, why take the chance? All right, Well, um,
(40:28):
that's not the big story though, Ayawaska is and Aaron
Rodgers and we're gonna get into drugs in the NFL next. Alright,
let's do this Sunday Night. Covino Rich Fox Sports Radio
at Covino Rich At Rich Tabus at Steve Covino. There
he is the fly fisherman in Idaho this weekend. That's me.
(40:51):
I was a little disappointed that Steve to say or
didn't in didn't give the update that I caught six today.
Next update, next update six five browns one rainbow fan.
Let me write the ground stuck, struck out twelve Cavino
caught six. Okay, let me I'll update it for him.
Thank you very much. The natural Roy Hobbs and fly
fisherman of fly fishing, Steve Covino. That's Rich Davis who's
(41:13):
mad that Trevor Lawrence didn't play a preseason game. I'm not, man,
I just I just feel like, why do we fake
this is his job, dude, It's it's still even though
reps are important, and no one's denying that it's his job.
Who's gonna beat him? You know what? I heard too
high of an investment for it not to be his
someone on some sports channel talking about how, honestly, the
(41:34):
preseason now really just comes down to the guys on
the bubble. There's guys that are not going to make
the team. There's a hell of Dore's a hell of
a lot of people that are like, I got a
spot on this roster, but there there might be maybe
ten of the fifty three spots that are still up
for grabs. So you're watching those guys and listen, those
are life changing moments for those guys. That is not
(41:54):
to be taken lightly. These are guys who are living
and dying and and you know, their families either making
millions that they're trying to figure out what's next. Perfectly said,
I mean that's what it's all about. Might not the
coolest stories that we're actually talking about football already, I know,
I know, it's it's pretty wild, you know. Um, I
think the big story, I mean, there's all there's so
(42:17):
many stories. I think the big story is Aaron Rodgers
and we're going to get to him in a second.
But let's go to Paul in the Bay Area. Paul,
you're out with Kevin on Rich. What's up? Man? Uh real?
I just wanna welcome you to the wonder and exciting
world of fly fishing. It's the only competitive sports that
(42:40):
age doesn't matter. I've seen competitors each nighty beauty crap
out of younger people. Yeah, it's the great equalizer. I'm
gonna have nightmares tonight. Set the hook, Set the hook.
I'm setting the hook you know, it was a great day.
Thank you, man. I appreciate it now that that was,
as you said, a great way to release your ress, right,
(43:00):
a great way to unwind. Some people do that on
the golf course. Some people do that playing pickup ball.
You know what Aaron Rodgers does. He goes on hallucinogentic
trips iauasca. Hey, that's his thing, right. I'm not here
to judge and criticize Aaron Rodgers. He's one of the
(43:25):
greatest of all time. But I don't think we should
be praising what he does recreationally when it comes to ayahuasca.
Like that's his personal choice. But why are we acting
like like it's a great thing that he does. That's
what's odd to me. I don't think anyone's praising it,
to be honest, truthfully, Ill he's saying, that's uh the
reason he played so well last year. Well hold on,
(43:46):
So first of all, oh wait, this is the magic medicine.
I don't think anyone's signing up to poop their pants
and vomit everywhere as their magic medicine. However, and that's
what happens when you take ayahuaska. When I hear guys
that I but that's not why people take when I
hear people that I respect and love Camino right, like,
are they I heard cow Herd the other day say
he's sort of compared it to drinking rum and cokes
(44:08):
and getting drunk in college, And I'm like, that is
the most ridiculous analogy ever what Aaron Rodgers did going
down the path of ayahuasca and hallucinating and you know,
we're talking about a psychoactive t that's gonna make you
see and hear things and you know, get all trippy.
(44:29):
That's not having rum and cokes. That's not smoking to
joint with your buddy. That's not taking an edible when
your kids go to sleep because you're you're can't fall asleep, right,
Which is why I find it peculiar that it's even
a story this big, because again, you gotta keep in mind,
I'm not trying to be righteous, Steve, but there's a
lot of kids out there to look up to guys
like Aaron Rodgers. I'm not saying what he's doing is
(44:50):
the worst thing ever, but you know, is it something
that kids should be hearing about, Like, Hey, Aaron Rodgers
does it, maybe I should do it? I don't think
any I don't think some teenagers going on in ayahuasca
trip if they don't know stories and you hear that
it brought out his greatness and it explains the greatness
of and Aaron Rodgers. It may normalize that to a
kid who's sort of on the fence that wants to
(45:11):
do that. And I ask of the plant. We get
it isn't illegal in the United States, but it's active
ingredient d m T is banned and it's in the
same category as heroin and ecstasy, So you're right, it
is very different than rum and coax and everything like that.
So and away we are sort of praising this sort
of behavior, like, hey, look how great he is because
(45:33):
of the choices he made, and that may be good
for him, and that may explain his really awesome tattoo.
But I think we gotta be careful with how we
present these things when so many kids look up to
these guys. We could all agree that Aaron Rodgers has
always been a peculiar dude, Yanny J I mean, we
all agree that Aaron Rodgers peculiar fella. Yeah, we're not saying,
(45:55):
you know, rich I don't want to come across like
I'm surprised that Aaron Rodgers chose to do this, and like, whoa,
he's such a crazy dude. I'm just saying, he's a
guy that a lot of kids look up to, but
a strange guy. Yes, a guy that. But let's be honest.
We saw all his relationships public over the last five
to ten years. They also to fall flat. And did
(46:19):
you see that headline this past week he said he
is open to reconciling with his family. That you know
why because his trip from Ayahuasca, Yeah, I got him
there has opened his mind. Well, I don't think there
was ever a doubt or debate that Aaron Rodgers was peculiar,
like you said, or maybe just a deep thinker, a
deeper guy. You know. I don't think there's any debate
(46:41):
there but to credit his performance, I think is is peculiar.
What's his girlfriend's name again, Blue something? What is it?
His girlfriend, the hippie girl, Blue Cantro. No, not blue,
not blue Cantro. It's like blue rain or blue ice,
(47:02):
something like that. Look it up right now. Now keep
in mind she she had to like defend that she
wasn't a witch. So Aaron Rodgers you know, is dating
dating someone that's a bit of a hippie, right, and
he's he's trying. That's all fine, that's his personal Like,
can you know what do athletes do? They try to
find an edge, right, every athlete they go to the
(47:25):
brink of and some actually do take performance enhancing steroids
and stuff and try not to get caught. Everyone's trying
to get an edge. So if Aaron Rodgers is like, listen,
I'm gonna get my head straight and for mental health,
I'm gonna try this trip with Aohwasca and it worked
out for him, it did. She's blew of Earth by
the way, Blue of Earth, of Earth. I mean, like,
(47:47):
I'm not here to criticize Aaron Rodgers. I think he's
I think he's great, And if it worked for him,
I think that's also great. I just think it's just
dangerous to not be promoting that there's other avenues to
clear your mind. Hey, you know, I fish if you
want to, you know, seek a therapist, take proper medications
prescribed by an actual doctor, you know. So I think
(48:10):
when stories go to this level again and we we
normalize things that maybe shouldn't be normalized to younger kids
who could abuse these things. Again to to two kids
who look up to guys like Aaron Rodgers. You know,
you hear stories about Mike Tyson looking looking at Toad
and it changed his life. I understand there's lots of
benefits to these things, but it's not for everybody, and
(48:33):
I think we need to be clear on that. I'm
open to it. I mean, you're a buffoon on the radio.
One's looking up to you. To me, this is Aaron
Rodgers to me, one of the court tenants to him
that this is to Aaron Rodgers to him, one of
the court tenants of mental health is self love. That's
what ayahuasca did for him, help them see how to
unconditionally love himself. It's only in that unconditional self love
(48:56):
that you're able to love others. And what better way
to work on his mental health that to have an
experience like that. And listen, I just think it's wild
that he did it, because everyone I've heard it's the
same thing, right, Like you go on this crazy trip,
you see and hear all these weird things. But we
alway talked about the side of Alway talk about the
(49:16):
side effects of pooping your pants and vomiting everywhere. Again,
we're talking about a professional athlete and we're talking about
him using something that's in the same category as heroin
and ecstasy. You know, Yeah, it worked for him. Yeah,
he's a great Is that something we want to again,
do you think that's fair to say that heroin and
ecstasy and people that do ayahuascas not a matter of
(49:39):
what's fair, it's a matter of what's fact. No, but you,
but you would say someone doing heroin is the same
as someone trying ayahuasca. You know, I'm not I'm not
oneing to promote hallucinogenics either to young kids who could
be listening and looking up to a guy like Aaron Rodgers.
And I know that sounds corny. Believe me, I'm not
trying to take corny stance, you know, right stance. To me,
(50:01):
that's just seems a little too much. I think if
you want to talk about self love and like, there's
other avenues to do that, like they talk to a
professional how about that. But I'm not saying he has.
It's been using for thousands of years, It's worked for
people for thousands of years. It's very like earthy and
medicinal and as a parent. Let's say your your little
kid Ben becomes an athlete one day, you're gonna promote
(50:23):
and condone him doing hallucinogenics. That's all fine and dandy
for rich Davis as a parent. Moving forward. I don't
think you could say doing ayahuasca in like some random
location in the middle of the woods like people do
where they go in like a retreat and do this.
If you think that's the same as someone popping ecstasy
(50:43):
at the club or doing heroin in the streets, that's
not saying I'm getting the facts assist in the same category.
This is we're talking about something that's stronger than we
probably realize. This is something that people don't like. It's
just something people do, like like a one time doozy,
and then they may do it years later. This is
not like the IgA. I understand you don't get everybody.
You don't get addicted to doing ayahuasca. But we're also
(51:05):
talking about elite athletes. He's trying to find the edge.
All right, Well, let's take your phone calls. What do
you think about it? What do you think about promoting
Aaron Rodgers? He's so great because of this. It opened
up his mind. We get all that. I'm not trying
to be judge. I'm just trying to say it's kind
of odd to here and to promote in this way.
(51:25):
Eight seven seven ninety nine on Foxes our number. What
do you think when you hear about Aaron let me
ask you this rich TV twelve, you think Tom Brady
would ever talk this nonsense. No, tom Brady got his
tom Brady's got his own system in place of how
he stays in shape to get the edge. Everyone just
goes something different. Tom Brady has a completely different plan.
In fact, I'm glad you brought up Tom Brady, but
(51:47):
everyone criticized. They didn't everyone criticize the workings of his
of his trainer and the TV twelve stuff because they're like, oh,
this guy's like a is a farce. Everyone's trying their
own thing. You just don't like that much different on
like a nerd, much different avenue. Not trying to sound
like a nerd. I'm trying to give you the facts again.
You know this isn't stuff you messed around with. And
(52:07):
and if you think you think a teenage kid who's
trying to get the edge in high school to get
a college degree, to get a college maybe the need
you see, now you're just that's fool's talk. Now, you're
just being a fool. That's just being a fool. And
you fel Look, you can't even look me in the
eye and tell me you're serious right now, I'm sorry,
(52:29):
look me right here, my my Max shars are brown eye.
By the way, I can't. I can't tell you how
many times I chuckle. When Gary Cohen and Keith Hernandez
were talking about Max Scherzer's brown eye during the broadcast
the other night, I'm like, do they know what they're saying? Anyway? Um,
your phone calls and they're they're lighting up, so let's
hear them eight seven, seven, nine nine on Fox, Aaron Rodgers,
(52:51):
is this a suitable and you're trying to take a nerdy, righteous,
corny stance. What you do recreationally is your business. I'm
not trying to judge you on that. I'm not trying
to judge you on Oh it open your third eye
and your life has changed forever. I'm not trying to
judge what you do there. What I'm saying is to
promote it in such a way that it's the reason
I had the greatest football season of my life could
(53:13):
be detrimental to kids looking for that edge. You're forgetting
the influence that these professional athletes have on these kids.
And as a dad, I wouldn't want my kids saying yet,
that's what my Aaron Rodgers does it, So I'm gonna
do it. I'd rather have my kid look up to
a guy like Tom Brady, as corny as that sounds. Yeah,
but you know, you know people that have done ayahuasca. Yeah,
(53:34):
I don't judge them, bro, No, but what I'm they're not? Yeah,
you know you know who does stuff like this, Mike
Tyson and he's my favorite person on the on the earth,
and he's a maniac. Is that? What is that? What
you want to people like that? Well, let's take a
couple of phone calls. Will break it. We'll take all
your feedback. Aaron Rodgers ayahuasca irresponsible? Responsible? Do you care?
(53:59):
Would you try it? Have you done it? I thought
I've thought about it. There's been a part of me
that's like, yeah, so you're telling me you drink this
little tea of crazy herbal concoction essentially. Yeah, And you
said everybody handles it the same way. Some people didn't say.
Some people they have no reaction. Other people have like
(54:21):
an outer, outer body type of reaction. I could get
out of this body, feel a little chubby past few weeks.
You know what. In fact, we'll take all your phone calls. Next,
your thoughts again, Kevin and Rich Aaron Rodgers? Responsible? Irresponsible?
Would you do it? Have you tried ayahuasca? Is it
a bad message for kids? Can I say one last thing? Rich?
I respect his honesty here, but it doesn't vibe right
(54:45):
coming from told me professional athletes. To me, if you
told me, yeah, Colin Colherd or Stephen A or you know,
Dan Patrick and some big dogs like the key to
me being the greatest radio gun sports was ayahuasca. I'd
probably of all the lead I've been doing it. Tomorrow
I'll be pooping in uh, you know, throwing up and
(55:05):
be like, oh right, Osca, so hey, we'll take your
feedback next more coin rech right here on Fox Sports Radio. Wow,
Bellinger just went yard again. Huh, Dodgers are gonna be
tough for anyone else in the NL Uh Comino and
Rich Fox Sports Radio Sunday. What's up, Cove. I'd be
(55:26):
excited for your Mets if the Dodgers were in the NL.
I can't say much a Yankees fan. They're playing like
Doudo diapers. Man. I'm embarrassed by them lately. But I
hope all your teams are winning. Thanks for hanging out
with us, you know, and Rich on Fox Sports Sunday,
Yankees are playing like the side effect of Aaron Rodgers tripping.
You know what. I want to get to the phone
(55:46):
calls on that. We're talking Aaron Rodgers here on the
show eight seven seven ninety now on Fox Everything at
Covino and Rich. Now, I want to make this very clear.
He's crediting his success, A lot of his success and
you know his vibe about him to Ayahuasca. Now, I'm
not judging what he does recreationally at all. And of
(56:07):
course people who are on tem Ayahuascar are gonna call
up and defend it. There's a team, yeah, because people
love to defend anything that they do, right, So that's fine.
I'm not judging what he does recreationally or that it
even worked. It didn't even debating that he's saying that's
why he had such a great season. I'm not debating that,
but I am questioning his responsibility as a role model
(56:30):
and don't act like it doesn't matter. Kids look up
to these guys. I look up to these guys, you know.
Yankee Jose Trevino followed me on Instagram yesterday. I can't
tell you how excited I was, because I still look
up to these professional athletes. Rich When you were a
kid and the Hulkster said say your prayers, you did
(56:50):
that because you looked up to him. So again, I'm
not judging Aaron Rodger. Oh my god. Maybe that's questioning
his responsibility as a role model and fessional athlete. Maybe
maybe that's why I want to do Ayahuaska. Now, maybe
I'm just so influenced. Yeah, Hogan did make me say
my prayers and eat my vitamins. Now I want to
do Ayahuaska. Um, can you know the best headline? Before
(57:12):
you go the phone calls? You have to credit sp nations.
You guys see this one. Aaron Rodgers credits tripping ball.
So the best seasons of his career. Yeah, like that
doesn't go hand in hand to me with with elite athlete,
but he does recreationally and what opens up his third
eye and makes him find one with himself that's all
(57:34):
his business. That's all fine and dandy. I'm not trying
to sound like a lamo. But again, it doesn't sound
right when these are the athletes as so many young
kids look up to. Well, he said it was while
he was dating Dannika Patrick. They were on a spiritual journey.
It was the best day of his life. He remember,
he was, he recalls, he recalls another moment where he
was doing mushrooms on the beach and then get this camp.
(57:56):
You know that sounds like a beautiful moment. The two
time m v P said quote he had an incredible
experience climbing Mount Machu Picchu before going right into the
ayahuasca ceremony. You know what, man, I'm magical. I'm not
here to debate that. I'm sure it was a wonderful experience.
I'm just saying it. It it It's just my butt
(58:20):
a little bit. And by the way, does the aahuasca
we're all right in time for the playoffs? Is that
what happened to with with Aaron Rodgers? All right, let's
go to Danny. Danny, you're on in d C. What's up? Hey?
How you doing? My great show? Guy? Thanks brother, Um
appreciate you bringing this um subject up, but I even
think it goes a little deeper than what we're talking
(58:42):
about right now, because um mental health is a huge
issue out here in society and the kids, not only
the kids that look up to Aaron Rodgers, but the
players who are under Aaron Rodgers. It's not too many
people that makes two hundred and fifty million dollars or
(59:03):
however how much money Anon Rogers makes, and for him
to come out and make a statement like that, and
with all due respect to what he does recreational and
all that, this is huger than that. Because number one,
he admitted that this is a performance enhancing drug that
he's taken. He said it felt like he said, it
(59:24):
felt like a hundred hands were on his body, blessing
and forgiving him. If if I'm a young player just
getting into the NFL, and hey, I could barely pay
my car note at home, and this is something that
I can take to help me make get to the
(59:46):
standards of making two hundred and fifty million dollars a year,
there's gonna be young people out here that's gonna do it,
not even the people that doesn't play ball. I'm talking
about the people that's in his locker room. Well maybe
maybe maybe you know the way that they won't always
have the same effects. That's a wonderful effect that's supervised.
(01:00:07):
Aaron Rodgers got lots of money. Exactly. This is voices
that's supposedly talking in your head. I have family members
that go to medical professions and have been listed as
you know, schizophrenic this and that because they're hearing voices
in their head. And for me to hear somebody, as
(01:00:30):
you know, as the statue of Aaron Rodgers come out
here and just candidly throw out there that pay it's
okay to take a hallucinate drug that's telling you voices
in your head. But Danny, I agree that. But but
but I'll tell you what. He didn't say, Hey, everyone
go do this, it's okay. But he has a responsibility
(01:00:52):
or not, whether he likes it or not. He has
an influence on kids, don't. He has the platform, he
has a platfor for him. He doesn't have to go
out there and say hey, I want you to do this.
People follow examples. So if he's the example and this
is something that he's doing, well, ship they're gonna try
(01:01:15):
but the voices not. Yeah, he dropped, he dropped the stuff. Look,
it's it's worthy of question. Bro. If it was so
matter of fact, not a big deal, we wouldn't even
be talking about. Agreed, Let's go to Nashville and Rob,
what's up? Rob Yourn coven On Rich you felt what
I was doing today? But hold on? Are you just
(01:01:36):
sipping ayahuasca? He little drink? What's up? Rob? Uh? I
don't care what anybody does. I'm the kind of things
that aldro should be legal. It's just silly to have
something illegal like that. But at the same time, since
they are illegal, Oh, how big of a jackass you
(01:01:57):
gotta babe to go inside it in front of impressionable kids. Well,
they ain't gonna be able to get ahold of the ayahuasca.
But you know what you can't get, yeah, the MT
the heroine, ecstasy, anything that a kid could think is
going to open up their mind a little bit to
(01:02:18):
give them the edge, especially an athlete. Athletes want any
edge possible. So I agree with you. People. Do you know,
maybe even including you back in your day, had tried mushrooms.
People tried different things, Matt. Look doesn't matter what you
Frank Fred Danny g Bobo do recreationally. Aaron Rodgers is
(01:02:42):
not you. Aaron Rodgers is not me. And I hate
to sound cliche, but with great power comes great responsibility.
He is a role model, whether he wants to be
or not. So in me saying this, I'm saying Aaron
Rodgers is one of the great people. Look up to him.
I'm up to him, you know. So that's what he
(01:03:03):
what he does in his own time, that's his business.
I don't care. I'm not judging him. But it will
have impact on kids, and and not every kid is
gonna have the same experience we're talking to. It's dangerous territory, man.
Is that the Is that the road you want your
kid to go down? And I'm I'm saying the collective
you think about that for a minute. I I don't.
I don't. I don't think it's uh as wildly irresponsible
(01:03:25):
as you're making it seem. Listen, Aaron Rodgers is no
stranger to controversy. HTE no one, No one is okay
before performance enhancing drugs. He he said it was since
since when are we okay with that? And if it's
not so dangerous, you're in your forties. Why haven't you
ever done it? I have a question for you, why
have you okay with Kevin Durant candidly talking to David
(01:03:48):
Letterman about weed on my next guest. That it is
not a wholucinogenic drug depends on how good the stuff is.
That I mean, it's not that it's not on that level.
We doesn't change your life? Yeah, but I but this
could change your life in a good way. I think
it's like it also change your life in a bad
win'tow anyone ever hear of a bad trip. I'm gonna
(01:04:09):
look it up because I really haven't heard of the
negatives of Iahwaski. I feel like it's usually some rich
person or some hippie that tries to a rich person
who probably has professional supervision or some sort of like
shaman with him, who's who's handling everything. Some idiot com
a college kid that just wants to Aaron Rodgers edge.
(01:04:31):
Is he gonna have the same perks and benefits? All right,
let's go to Drew in Idaho. What's up, Drew? We're
gonna comnos in Idaho. Go but go get him a
Dutch Brother's coffee. He needs little pick me up here,
what's up? And they're a little too loud. They're a
little too loud and happy for my cage. But first, first,
I want to tell you guys, thanks for bringing up
(01:04:51):
calling and false equivalency with being nineteen and getting trapped. Dude,
I'm so good because I you know, I love I
love Cowherd. He might be my favorite dude on Fox Sports.
But when he said drinking running coakes is the same
as ayahuasca, I wanted to I want to strangle him
through the I watched that on his Instagram. I'll ask
a question, and I'm being serious because I was he
saying maybe that everybody does their own thing recreationally, but
(01:05:14):
that's very different. I don't know, so he so they
play just the one cliff over and over again, which,
by the way, Aaron Rodgers was just talking about his
journey of mental health. He wasn't talking about doing this
and trying to make his game any better. He just
said he did it because as as everybody has mentioned
in the history of his relationships in his life and
how they don't seem to pan out, maybe he thought, Hey,
(01:05:37):
what if the call is coming from inside the house
and I need to look at you know something that's
going on with me? And and this is what he did,
and it said it enabled him to be free in
every aspect of his life, and it just so happened
to affect his ability to do his job. And I
know you're you're bringing up the kids and the role
model thing. I mean, I still think he's a better
(01:05:57):
role model than the dude down the street in Cleveland
who put a hobby numbers in a year and a half.
But but guess what, that guy doesn't have the influence
that Aaron Rodgers has. You know what I'm saying, And
I'm not I mean, did he say he's saying DeShawn Watson?
You think DeShawn Watson is a good role model if
you're talking about Aaron Rodgers, I mean, yeah, he's not.
I'm let's keep a perspective. There is is to somebody
(01:06:19):
who's who did something for him, because I mean, I mean,
when does Aaron Rodgers get to be the man that
he wants to be? Does he have to think about
all of this other stuff all of the time or
would you rather just wait till he's done playing. It's true,
it's a great interesting and you make a great point.
That's why I made it very clear that I'm not
debating that it worked for him, and I'm not debating
(01:06:41):
that it's not his truth and I respect his honesty.
There's no Look, you gotta understand where I'm coming from.
I'm not trying to be like like a dork about it,
like I you know, very very conscious of that. Yeah, yeah,
it does. It sounds very like dorky, like I'm taking
this really righteous dorky stay ants. But it's but I'm
being very real about it, like I get it as
(01:07:03):
from guy to guy, from dude to dude. I mean,
that's what he did and it worked for him. But
he is who he is. And now you're bringing up
he's the guy. To throw him in that category shows
you that it's not like all cut and dry and
excepting just such a rocking dude, you're a rocking dude.
Aaron Rodgers is a guy that it's no stranger to
(01:07:26):
be in peculiar his Listen, his personal relationships, we've seen
they all seem to just out of nowhere, boom gone.
I think he's cool. He tried to do Jeopardy a
little bit of a stiff, but he could see that
football is not a his life. He's not that guy
that's a I'm football only. Uh. We've seen his personal relationship.
We've seen the fallout where him and his family don't talk,
(01:07:48):
but now he's open to it. We've seen Aaron Rodgers
be the guy that talked about the vaccine in COVID.
Like Aaron Rodgers is he's he's he one of that
marches to the beat of his own drum. Right. Guess what,
there's other avenues, professional avenues where you could work on
your mental health. Agreed, But I did this and that's
(01:08:09):
what if? That's his truth? And someone on a podcast
asked him, is he supposed to just ignore it? You're
saying maybe, yes, maybe because he didn't say, hey, kids
go to ayahuasca. He said, But when you're Aaron Rodgers
and you say that, it's just by default. It's like
he's you know, he's a victim of being one of
the great ones with big influence. Well, let's get an
update from Steve to Seger, who I had imagine Steve
(01:08:32):
has been on plenty of IAHWASCAR trips. No, in fact,
as this has been talked about. Oh, and I'm glad
that there's a serious aspect being brought up to this
on this show. I appreciate, I appreciate the debate, I
really do, and thanks. I however, have never had this
cross my mind, and I have come to the conclusion
it's it's just that I've never felt the need to
(01:08:53):
go to South America to make my life better. I'm fine,
I like my life. I'm good, thank you. But listen,
I just I'm I'm constantly It's a big stretch, Steve Right,
it's a big stretch. But I feel like we're all
constantly trying to better ourselves. Right, It could be as
simple as it could be as simple as like I
talked to my wife the other day, I said, hey, babe,
you know what, we should go back to a cross
fit or Orange Theory or you know, the nine rounds boxing,
(01:09:15):
Like I want to get back to the gym. Hey,
we should eat better. Let's everyone's constantly trying to better No, no,
But what I'm saying is everyone's constantly trying to better themselves.
And for a lot of people that extends to mental health,
whether it's a therapist, whether it's you know, talk things
out or you know, medication. Aaron Rodgers just went an
extreme route, talked about it, and because he's Aaron Rodgers,
it's a story well, and he needs to be responsible
(01:09:36):
about that because he's a because he's the one that's
say that, that stated I did this and then I
was great. He's the one that connected those two DUTs.
That is exactly saying the reason for my greatness these
two seasons is this trip. Packer fans are like, take
it before the playoffs. Yeah, I'm that's actually a serious point.
(01:09:59):
He can't a have you know, November and just throw
away January as if that's not important whatsoever. That is
part of your season. Sorry, sorry, pack Byaska with the
war off and by the way, to be fair, Steve,
you know, maybe he's just way ahead of the game,
you know, like you know, maybe he is onto something.
But it's still dangerous territory. Yes, absolutely. There are two
(01:10:21):
NFL exhibitions on Thursday, by the way, plenty of games
after that through the weekend. Next Sunday it's the Raiders
hosting Minnesota. You talked earlier in the hour. We had
this preseason opener Thursday night with all the starters, almost
all the starters sitting typical preseason game Raiders in Jaguars.
That was the top rated TV show of the night
that NBC had preseason game. It was almost five and
(01:10:42):
a half million viewers. It was easily number one. We're
so thirsty for football. Stay, I'll show you how thirsty
because remember there was a weather delay at the beginning,
so Primetime started at eight pm Eastern Time, and for
forty minutes there was no game. They were just yapping.
That was the number two rated TV show of the night.
They got were point one million for the weather delay.
That's amazing. By the way, see let me ask you.
(01:11:04):
Let me let me ask you. This a a party, Fowler. No,
I'm watching the Dodgers game. In the background, people are
taking selfies with Paula Abdul at the stadium. If you
see a celebrity sitting near you, you allowed to do
a selfie or is that bed etiquette allowed? If they
say yes, you're allowed. Otherwise, leave Malone there. I want
to play a sound bite that I found from Edwin
(01:11:27):
Diaz entering today's game in New York, and the man
had another save and the Mets went again over the
Braves five to the final. Daz with his twenty six
save Stevie straight strikeouts. I was gonna say fair to
say he's having one of the best closing seasons of
(01:11:48):
all time. Knock on wood. The guy is averaging like
two and a half strikeouts an inning and it's e
r is one point three nine now and he hit
one o two on the gun for one of the
just today. Jacob Degram was about one oh two early
in the game as well. Fun story about his theme song.
He came in for a six out save against the
(01:12:10):
Braves earlier in this series. They didn't have his song
cued up in the eighth inning because I guess they
caught the sound guy off guard. And he said, as
he jogged up from the dugout, he hummed it in
his head to get in his rhythmic. He's like, He's like,
I had to, I had to like sort of get
the vibe. I've said it for years. Pictures are just
weird birds. If you just screw around with their schedules,
(01:12:31):
they just it's like closers not in a closing situation,
they just can't do it. We talked about how dominant
Mets pitching was today. De Gram included, I mean he
got to win and had a perfect game going with
two outs in the six, but all the swing and
misses the Braves head. Here's the actual number from Random
stats Mets pictures they threw pitches, realizing that a lot
of pictures are not swung at. Braves swung and missed
(01:12:52):
on forty one different pitches today. That's over a third
of the pitch is thrown, which is the highest rate
by any team's pitching, if not just this year, in
over a decade since they've been tracking this. Matt's absolutely
dominated today and their record is now seventy and thirty nine.
The Yankees have lost five in a row. Their record
seventy and thirty nine after losing twelve nine at St. Louis.
(01:13:15):
Cardinals have won seven in a row. Dodgers have won
seventh straight, and they're winning tonight for nothing over the
Padres in the bottom of the eighth inning, starter Tyler
Anderson seven scoreless innings for l a he entered with
a twelve and one record. You Darvish, Dodger fan favorite
at that stadium was the Padres starter six innings of work,
Cody Bellinger with two solo homers. By the way, Fernando
(01:13:36):
Tatis Jr. On rehab assignment at Double A when over
three Tonight had an error at short step. He has
yet to play for the Padres this year after risk
surgery in March. The Dodgers Clayton Kershaw was on the
injured list, got an epidural shot in his back this
weekend on the left side, the right was the problem
earlier this year and in the Al Central. The Twins
lost at home in ten innings. Their lead in the
(01:13:57):
division is one game over Cleveland, which one and two
games on the White Sox, who won. Cleveland. Browns will
not grant the trade request of running back Kareem Hunter,
who had been skipping team drills until today wanting a
contract extension. NASCAR went at Michigan for Kevin Harvick. Bubba
Wallace finished second. He started from the poll first time
in his Cup Series career, and we have a passing
(01:14:17):
to report. Actor Roger E. Moseley from Magnum p I
played the helicopter Pilot TC has passed away at the
age of eighty three. His daughter told the l A
Times that Moseley had been in a car accident in
l A on Thursday and spent his final few days paralyzed.
In a medical center locally and passed away today. He
not only had the long acting career, they said he
(01:14:38):
was a local track coach and in nineteen seventy seven
he played boxer Sonny Liston in the Ali movie The
Greatest Back to You, Thank you, Steve. Now, before we
get commune out to all the phone calls, a lot
of people still hit us up about Aaron Rodgers, and
I want everybody hank tight on many Yeah, ayahuasca and
it's a it's a it's a great story because it's
(01:15:00):
great debate. What's his responsibility? Hey, maybe you down with it.
I want to hear from someone that's done it and
did it change your life? Because it's you know, it's
not like I'm asking someone, hey, have you done heroin?
Because when you said that analogy before, I was like,
it's not an analogy. What do you mean? The same category?
I'm giving facts here, not not an analogy, the same category,
(01:15:21):
like the same family. I didn't say it's the same thing.
We're gonna break, we're gonna come back, and we're gonna
take all your feedback. Aaron Rodgers. As we get closer
to the NFL season, your thoughts more Cavene on Rich
next on Fox Sports Radio. Alright, Cavino and Rich Fox
Sports Radio, Fox Sports Sunday. Uh, we're gonna get right
(01:15:43):
back to your phone calls Aaron Rodgers ayahuasca. Oh, by
the way, though, speaking of ourahuasca, you know how Mike
Tyson looks toads and it changed his life. We're gonna
talk about Mike Tyson, Perfect and that new Hulu series next.
Perfect got to the phones on my in Idaho. It's
Caveno and Rich at Covino and Rich on social media
(01:16:03):
eight seven seven on five. You know, Aaron Rodgers said
after he took ayahuasca and he felt like a hundred
hands were rubbing and touching him. Who knows what I
was doing? Whoa Um. He gave him new perspective as
a teammate, a player, a man, and he threw in lover.
So he's even a better lover. Now he's curling the toes. Yeah,
(01:16:27):
he never did before. Mitch in Jersey, what's going on, buddy?
What's a buddy? How good Grandpa and a twenty seven
days kids? Uh, it's amazing. Those doctors did an amazing job.
What's going on? Yeah? I would say I relogs him.
He's a great epic like Charles bo he said decades ago,
(01:16:50):
he's a role model where he likes it or not.
Um Joe Fridan says, you know, he started marijuana and
then it just works you up and it seems like
there's voice drugs and ut So he's bet um see
a rather see on steroids. I meant steroids might be
more excusable to some Adam in Tennessee what's up. I
don't know that. I don't know that I've ever seen
(01:17:11):
a more unlikable person in my life. Honestly, I think
he's uh. He loves that attention. Man. I feel like
he googles himself and he sees that something hasn't been
said about him in six weeks. So he's like, let's
talk about the holocin a Jenic I talk because that'll
get people talking about me. That I know. He throws
the boulevard. I wish he threw the football arc for
(01:17:33):
the Titans man, But at the same time he is
I don't think anybody outside Lambeau likes this crap man.
You know what up next for Aaron Rodgers to keep
his name in the headlines Now that Pete Davidson's out
Kim Kardashian Aaron Rodgers. I, oh, well he's a he's
an amazing lover now, so yeah, he is now a
better lover. Yeah, it's a good point, John Ohio, what's up? John?
(01:17:54):
Hey lebro James. If he's so about spoken pots, that
would be a teenager and acro that didn't do it.
And that's just as supposed it is. But I have
one other problem. We have all those mental health issues.
I'm that my dad took care of my metal issues.
(01:18:18):
The problem is we don't have fathers in the world
to take care of their kids. Thank you very much,
thank you know, and that's a bigger issue. And thank
you John for calling. We appreciate that. But when we
don't have enough father's influencing our kids, guess who is
Guys like Aaron Rodgers and he's tripping balls, man, man,
(01:18:39):
it bettered him that listen. I agree on the debating.
That's debating that he you know, he benefited. I agree
with one thing you said, and that's Aaron Rodgers is
an intelligent guy who went supervised with you, with you right,
like a shaman. And he's in Peru and you know
hanging on the mountain top. He does this differently than
(01:19:02):
you know, someone that doesn't know what they're talking about, right,
so maybe didn't know what they're actually getting, you know, Colorado, Katherine,
you're on what's up? Katherine? Well, um, just real quick.
I I had a friend that was athlete in high
school football and I left home, you know, just moved away.
(01:19:24):
When I came back, I ran into him and he
was talking. I wanted me to go with him to
do the UM, the drugs, and I had three children
and I don't do drugs, and but he went on
and on about how UM it was helping him and
(01:19:44):
um bettering his life. And it was with some people
who were from a reservation that he was going with.
I think it was every six months. And about a
year later, just after year UM, I heard that he
passed away. See that's a sad story. That's a that's
(01:20:05):
a sad story. I don't know if it's from that,
but hey, listen, we're gonna take the rest of your
feedback and phone calls. Aaron Rodgers again. Any surprise to you,
Compino that he's a polarizing guy in the world of
the NFL. I mean, that's the difference between a guy
like him who and he's one of the great, but
a guy like him and Tom Brady uh more, Caveno
and Rich next, any feedback at Covin on Retch on Twitter.
(01:20:26):
We'll be back in a second. Hey, what's up, buddy?
What's up man? I want to thank everybody for hanging
out with us this Sunday night. I want to thank
Danny g and Bobo for holding it down. Bobo on
the ones that too, Steve de Seger as always with
your sports updates, and thank you guys for hanging eight seven,
seven ninety nine on Fox. I'm Cavino Live in Idaho,
(01:20:48):
Rich Davis live in l A. It's Cavino and Rich
Would you uh? Would you do ayahuasca if it meant
that you were going to be the ultimate radio TV host?
Doesn't matter what I do, you know what? Truthfully no,
because I would seek the help of a professional and
I would take professional advice. It's just not my style.
I don't take those risks. And by the way, I'm
(01:21:08):
a forty six year old guy. I'm too old to
be experimenting. I'm past that stage. But it doesn't matter
even even in the bedroom. Sorry to hear that for
your girl. Hey, my girlfriend's dance listening. Bro't chill out
all right? So anyway, should be happy dot com I
(01:21:28):
Heart radio app s x M eight three. Now, if
you have anything else to say about Aaron Rodgers, again,
I don't care what he does recreationally. I care about
what he says as a role model. Experimenting in your forties,
huh dude, this stuff he should have done in your twenties, thirties.
What are you doing? Get a life, talk to a professional,
get a prescription, Like you know, there's other Why is that?
(01:21:49):
Why is prescription drugs in your mind? Like, well, that's well,
that's just totally legit. But this guy, you know, under
the guidance of someone who who's to say, ayahwaska, that
isn't gonna work for every one. It's just not so
for a guy to say that, knowing that he is
a role model, is just almost careless what he does
in his own time. That's fine, man, I'm not here
(01:22:09):
to judge that, but he is a somebody. I don't
care what bart does recreationally. Aaron Rodgers a professional athlete
that people look up to, and so is Mike Tyson
or he was, and we're gonna talk about him next.
You know, you gotta you gotta realize, is rich His
future father in law is listening, So of course he's
done experimenting. Yeah, he's not experiment no drugs, nothing. I'm
(01:22:32):
also a responsible guy, you know, and I'm not a
professional athlete conservative. Let me tell you was you know
what rich, I'm I'm forty something years old. This is
like a young man's game. What dummy's doing her twenties
when their experiment Coveno has trouble sleeping and I'm like, yeah, dude,
want you take a get edible or something. He's like,
I'm a g man, I'm done experimenting. Like you know
(01:22:52):
what he's called. It's called careless behavior. Your buddy giving
you a dirt weed in college is not the same
as college college. But knowledge, you know, I got responsibility
things to doinking toads asses. Did I say look at
toad's ass? No? But that's what we're talking about next,
Psychedelic Toads with Mike Tyson. But you know, previously we
(01:23:13):
just talked about Aaron Rodgers ayahuasca. I just think the
idea of saying, when you lose the thrill of enjoying
a simple cocktail or just a little puff puff give
then life's getting too boring for you. I'm sorry. I
still get a nice little thrill, a little buzz out
of that. And if I need professional help, I'll get
professional help. I'm not seeing some shaman in the middle
of nowhere. But what if they got the answers? He says,
(01:23:34):
who reminds you have Kanye Sway, you don't got the answers,
So you don't got the answers, Camino, You think you've
got all the answers in life, but some some shaman
unsupervised us. Right, Yes, that's what you mean doing for
young people. It's your response you take that's an irresponsible stance.
And and Aaron Rodgers should have known better. You know
what the cowherd said. Not to repeat something he said
(01:23:57):
I heard on the promo, said Aaron Rodgers, and that
this is an interesting point to wrap this up. He's single,
he's rich, he's getting older, and he's weird. Yes, And
I ask you this is that really part of what
this is all about? Like, think about your friends that
Now I'm gonna upset a lot of people by saying this,
(01:24:19):
But if you've got that friend with fifteen cats. It's weird.
If you got that friend, it's like fifty something and
not dating anyone, totally single, no kids, nothing, really going
on searching for more when like, you know, the answers
are kind of simple. I think of the chill life.
You're friends, but no kids live are our buddy's spot.
(01:24:41):
You might not hear his voice today. You know why
he's in Bora Bora. He's got no kids. If his
wife are like, yeah, let's you know what that says
to me? We pay him too much? So single, rich, older, weird.
Aaron Rodgers checks all those boxes. So then why are
we you like promoting that like it's a great thing.
(01:25:03):
It worked for him, Is that the answer for everybody?
I don't know about that. Not right. Um, Let's move
along to your Mike Tyson licking a toad. But first
I have to give him credit where credits due. With
the Dodgers, Dandy g Bo Bo your Dodgers. They swept
the one so too, Padres and oh you mean Belle
(01:25:27):
and Soto and the whole new line up. And I
know tattoos, Jun yours and back yet, but Dodgers swept
him and Uh. The one cool moment was Juan Soto, superstar,
was in right field and they had a miked up
when Bellinger hit a bomb. Take listen to this, Stay here,
Stay here, Stay here. Did not stay here nine s
(01:25:55):
lone of the year. Dodgers made it one. Nothing got
by the way. That was from ESPN Sunday that baseball.
I love the announcer it did not stay here. Great,
stay here as long as you can. Well, hey, congrats
to the Dodgers best record in baseball by five games
over the Mets Yankees, and I believe the Houston Astros
(01:26:19):
are half a game behind them. And I said to
the guys during the break, Cavino, I said, not to
hardpum baseball too much, but if the n L and
a L championship games aren't Mets, Dodgers, Yankees, Astros, I'm
gonna be disappointing because I feel like that is so
what baseball needs. Like those four teams, It's going to
(01:26:40):
be the obvious and then we can harp on baseball
all we want. Baseball is a great game. People that
don't like baseball sucked in Little League. End of story
that I'm gonna I'll back you up on that. But
you know, people are already getting hyped about football, so
we'll talk a little more football. And one last thing
before you do, bring up this Mike Tyson story because
we all love Mike. You gotta say, Tom Cruise bet
(01:27:05):
on himself and Top Gun Maverick, do we all see
it other than you? Can? You know? Did you guys
see it? Danny J Top Gun Bobo, you saw it? Yeah?
Of course you're not alone. After grossing an insane seven
million dollars and it's eleventh week, which, by the way,
eleven weeks, and you're still making almost ten mill They
just reached six hundred and sixty two million, which now
(01:27:27):
is more than Titanic. Up next Infinity War and Black Panther.
Are They're saying, they're like, it's likely to surpass Infinity
War and Black Panthers side doubt that. They're saying it's
close increasingly threatening the numbers of Black Panther and Infinity War. So, hey,
Top Gun Maverick, could you know you're the last guy
on earth that hasn't seen it. I'm holding out, Yeah,
(01:27:48):
I'm I'm just holding out to be different. No Ayahuasca,
no Top Gun seven. I'm just done. You know why,
because I'm fine watching Beeves and butt Head do the
universe with a nice old fast shined and you know,
a nice cocktail and a nice servesa. I don't need
all that. I don't need a lick at Toad's ass
for answers, you know. And if I want them again,
(01:28:09):
I'll seek them in a professional way. That's the right
thing to say. It just is right, and it's actually
how I feel is that I'm intrigued. I'll be honest,
if you you tell me this world of like, if
you tell me this world of like shrooms and ayahuasca
and stuff, I'm not saying I'll do it. But what
I'm saying is I'm intrigued. Can't can't I guess what.
(01:28:31):
I was intrigued when I was twenty something years old.
But why do you, like, damn, why you do this whole? Like, Oh,
you're you're older now, so you're done experimenting because you
every don't. You have a family and responsibility. You're sitting
you're wondering around about tripping your face off like I am,
about worry about other things. You do have to get
school supplies for my kids this week, exactly, like I mean,
don't you have responsibilities and goals. How about you focus
(01:28:53):
on that. And if it's mental health you seek, how
about you seek professional help. That would be wise advice.
I'm not trying to take corny righteous route. I don't
want to harp in it again. You know, teach his
own prov alone. As my dad would say, Let's go
to Mike Tyson. I know this is one of your fans.
Mike Tyson is another guy who is all about psychedelics. Again,
he's a damaged guy, so he needs something. I get it.
(01:29:16):
I'm not judging what he does in his personal life.
I'm not. But he's a guy who's all about psychedelics
and micro dosing. He's experienced an out of body experience
using psychedelic toad venom. We've talked about this, but now
(01:29:37):
he's taking another stance. Mike Tyson is going out against Hulu.
So I want to know what you guys thinking. What
would you do? John kenyonas style, what would you do?
Because we all like watching our Netflix series are Hulu series.
We like seeing what's out there, staying on top of
what's new and what's trending. There's a new series coming
(01:29:58):
out August. I believe called Mike and it's the story
of Mike Tyson. And it looks great, But guess what
nothing to do with Mike Tyson or his involvement exactly.
You publickly talking about it. Are you a hypocrite or
are you a man of honor because apparently the last
hour would make you seem like the most righteous man
(01:30:20):
of honor. No, it's it's see, that's just you acting
like you're some hippie dippie guy willing to do anything. Meanwhile,
you're the nerd who's never done anything. You're the nerd
who never smoked weed in your life until you're twenty something.
Now because it's legal, Oh, it's the cool thing to do.
You guys are trend hoppers, trend jumpers, and that's why
(01:30:40):
what Aaron Rodgers saying is dangerous trend jumpers. Oh it's
the cool thing, So I'm gonna do it. You need
you get pretty pent up. You need to mahlasco because
no one's trying to be righteous, all right, don't then
then if you're if you're a righteous guy trying to
be real about you're if you're a righteous guy just
in general, then I have an analogy for you when
we when we were a right and wrong thing, when
(01:31:03):
we were all watching Winning Time. Me you, Danny g
I don't think Bobbo watched Winning Time, the Lakers show
on HBO. We loved it, loved it, loved it. It
was if it was cold Stone Creamery, like it, love it,
gotta have it. I gotta have it, Lakers, Winning Time.
I loved everything about every week. I was like more,
(01:31:25):
John c Riley, More, I loved it. I can't wait
for more. But guess what everyone involved was like, Uh,
we don't approve of this, but we still loved it.
So you're gonna say no to Tyson because he's not
in it. I gotta tell you, I'm on the fence
on it. That's where I'm at right now as a fan.
If you watched, if you watched Magic, Johnson, Kareem Jerry
(01:31:46):
Buss as you know, played by John Glad to say
that because they were trying to protect their personal images.
You know, they don't want to admit to womanizing and
doing drugs and all that stuff. They were just protecting
their image, so therefore they were uninvolved. But if they
but if Mike, if Mike Tyson says the same thing
as Magic Johnson. He's saying that he didn't get paid.
Magic Johnson said, if you're a Lakers fan and you
(01:32:08):
love the Lakers blue and gold, you know, purple and gold,
then you will not watch the show because it's bunk
and and there were some Laker fans are like, really,
I'm not a Lakers fan and I am a Mike
Tyson fan. That's why I'm torn. So let me tell
you what he said. Mike Tyson took to social media.
He took a job at Hulu over the series Mike Again.
It comes out August, is the story about his life. Meanwhile,
(01:32:32):
there is a film in production with Jamie Fox about
his life that he is promoting. Right, it's not out yet,
but the story is. It's a biographical series without his
permission or compensation for telling his story. And he came
out publicly on social media saying, don't let Hulu foo,
you don't let I'm gonna I'm just gonna read it normal.
(01:32:53):
No no, no, no no, read it as Tyson. You
have to know because it's sick and angry, and he's
like subdued. I don't know what mood he's in, but
don't let Hulu foo you. I don't support the story
about my life. It's not eight two Read Tyson statement
on Instagram. Oh that's not that part. He says, they
throw my life story and they didn't pay me to
(01:33:13):
Hulu executive, I'm just an n word. They can fell
on the auction block man. So I mean he's coming
out saying that's how he feels about it. And as
a fan of a guy who licks toads asses is
into psychedelics. Again, I'm not a judgment guy. That's his business.
I find him to be the most intriguing, most awesome
champion of our lifetime. Can I give you a two
(01:33:35):
Can I give you a two part doozy and we'll
take your feedback next eight seven, seven, nine nine on Fox.
Here's the two part doozy. If you're cool with it,
all right, But my question to you and everybody is
do you not watch because they're taking advantage? That's that's
part of the two time doozy. Yeah, here's my question.
It's two part number one. If it's someone you admire,
(01:33:56):
the Lakers, Mike Tyson, do you remember when Chappelle said
don't watch Chappelle Show on Netflix? Until I get paid
for it. Do you not watch something if the artist
you admire tells you not to? If Mike Tyson says
don't watch, are you gonna be like, well, I love
and admire Mike, I'm not gonna watch. What do you watch? Like?
(01:34:18):
Um ahead to answer that question, I watch. Uh. The
difference with the Dave Chappelle think is because that was
his work and he still kind of had the rights
to it and then they sold it without him. No,
that's true. But if you if you like Rick James,
you but you'd say, yeah, dude, I love Chappelle, but
I'm not gonna not watch my favorite episode if I
want to, you know, so I think if James is
one episode, So I just I wonder do you do
(01:34:43):
you take? Do you take the lead of the celebrity
or athlete that says don't watch it, I don't approve?
And the second normally and the second part of the
question is the better part of the question. You admire
Mike Tyson so much, don't you do? If Mike Tyson
said Kevin on Rich Bobo, Danny j want to be
a guest on your show, the answer would be an
obvious what yes, Yes, in fact, co host the whole
(01:35:05):
time with this iron Mike. I mean we we've we've
had him on our our old TV show, but our
radio show. We've interviewed it. We've met Tyson many times.
Name dropped. Fine, he's one of my favorite name drop
his problem? Turn off your station? What if? What if?
Mike Tyson said, Danny g Bobo Comino, Rich, I'll come
co host with you on Fox, but you gotta do
(01:35:26):
shrooms with me, right. I'm not I'm not a pure
pressured teenage boy. I'm get a little boy. I don't
I don't by I don't fall into that. Man. I'm
a grown ass man, alright, because I think I would
absolutely do shrims at Mike Tyson right here. You know,
the top of the top would be none better. What
are you gonna do bad without incriminating you? Guys? Would you?
(01:35:49):
Would you? Get? Tyson said? Come here? If Tyson? What
if it was something mild like he want to smoke
weed with you? Would you that? Yes? Radio, Yes, s
I'll totally agree to that, you know, but the other
things could be scary. Man, you don't know what you're
hoping to, fair enough, But the bigger question, like you said,
what would you do shrims with Tyson? But do you
(01:36:11):
support a project if the athlete or celebrity behind it
says it does not get my thumbs up? Your calls?

Some feedback regarding Mike Typhon and Licking a Toad and
him not approving of the Hulu series. Do you watch
(01:36:56):
a documentary or series about a team, about an a lead,
about a rock star. Let's say it's a documentary or
some type of docuseries and it's like, yeah, they didn't
approve of it. If Another very controversial thing, which is
when like nudy photos leak, but people are intrigued to
look at them even though yeah, that's out without consent. Yeah,
(01:37:20):
you're like, I gonna want to be the creep that
looks But then your buddies like, who'd just seen you?
Oh god, creeper, Because again this was out the without
the consent and without any compensation to Mike Tyson. The
new series on Hulu comes out August, and he's praising
He also side story, he praised UFC President Dana White
for allegedly refusing to promote the Hulu series. He turned
(01:37:42):
down a lot of money to promote that, so he
respects him and honors the friendship, and he's just saying
that they're not treating him with any dignity and that
Hulu stole the story from him. I mean, we watched
Winning Time on HBL right when the reality was everyone involved,
from Magic Johnson to Kareem to the Bus family to
(01:38:02):
everyone's like, no, it's not accurate, it's garment, and we
still watched it and loved it. So do you not
watch the Do you not watch the Hulu Mike Tyson
Show because you love Iron Mike for as much as
I love Iron Mike. I mean, this guy was our
childhood who was more invincible than Iron Mike Tyson. Ah,
(01:38:23):
you know, as righteous as I sounded before, call me
a total hypocrite. It's just my honest feeling. I'm just
too intrigued by his story and by anything Mike Tyson
to not watch this Hulu soon real, honest, I know
it's hypocritical, but the trailer looks great. The guy that
plays him looks like he he's convincing Mike Tyson. It
(01:38:44):
looks really good. Unfortunately they didn't work it out with Mike,
so I'll keep that in mind when I'm watching it.
But man, I I can't not watch anything Mike Tyson
related related to not approving of things about you. I
don't if you saw Britney Spears said every documentary or
special about her she does not approve of. She's like,
(01:39:07):
I approved none of this. This is all just She's like,
when I put out something, i'll let you know. But
every Britney Spears special she has nothing to do with.
So when the artist has no involvement, do you care?
Do you still watch Jordan's in l A? What's up? Man?
Ken know? Rich? Hey, guys remember the show. I got
(01:39:27):
three scenarios here and then I'll stop, hang up and
let you guys, do you think thank you? Say? Like
Brian Cranston comes and says, stop streaming, stop streaming breaking bad.
I found that I wasn't paid all the money that
I was contractually obligated to and they're not gonna give
it to me, so stop. For sure, I would completely
(01:39:48):
disregard that and anything else that falls into that same
example and keep watching the show if they If somebody
made a documentary about a person and that person made
a stay on Instagram and said, none of this fact checks,
all fake, it's totally biased, don't watch it, I would
take that into consideration because I don't want to waste
(01:40:09):
an hour and a half of my time watching some
producer's opinion on this person. And then then I would
take it. And then in third case, if somebody wrote
the movie about a person and that person came forward
and said, don't watch it. It's all bold, you know,
none of its fact check, and that story was written about,
you know, based on a true story, I would totally
watch it and disregard their statement because that's just somebody
(01:40:32):
taking some of them that happen and making him entertaining
and making it dramatic. There's there's different ways to look
at all these things definitely different ways to look. But
keep this in mind, too, Rich. It's not like Mike
Tyson's life isn't publicly documented. Like it's not like we
don't all know the story. They're just putting it out
there without paying the dude, that's not fair, I get it,
(01:40:53):
But it's not like we're going to see something that's
completely inaccurate. We've heard his story a million times, you
know what. You know, I got one. The fact that
Mike Tyson wasn't even considered that is different to me
than let's say, I'm gonna bring up like a pop example.
But you know, Taylor Swift has rerecorded all her albums
because first time around, she got like a bad deal.
(01:41:16):
As as you know, as unfair as that may seem,
you know, she signed the bad deal. Mike Tyson signed
no deal. They just left him out. That's like, if
you right, it's it's completely wrong. But however, when when
someone's involved, they may glamorize things that weren't necessarily true,
like maybe there's more truth in the Lakers winning time,
more truth than this Mike Tyson story because they're not involved.
(01:41:39):
You know, keep that in mind, you know I was involved,
you might get a different story that just made him
look good when it wasn't supposed to as we as
much as we all loved Michael Jordan's last dance, you know,
there was there was, there was you know, there was
not a lot of like negative Michael Jordans anything because
he was very all the same with Tom Brady and
(01:42:02):
his docuseries Man in the Arena a lot of times
when the guys involved, you're right, and it's sort of like,
all right, I'm gonna be involved in this, so we're
not going to talk about this negative part of my life.
We're not gonna talk about this other questionable This is
Mike Tyson's great. Really, that it's inaccurate, or that he's
not compensated like he should have been compensated, he should
(01:42:22):
have been involved, I get all that, But you know,
I think a lot of his life is pretty well documented.
And if those of you who are curious, again, it's
it's August on Hulu, Sars, Travante Rhodes and Russell Horns
being Harvey Kitel. I believe Harvey Kitel is custom motto.
So it looks it looks good, I feel bad. I
(01:42:45):
do because I really do like Mike Tyson. I find
him to be the most intriguing man in the universe.
He's the most interesting man in the world. He's the
new uh Doseki's guy in my opinion. But I think
I'll watch because I I I watch everything Mike Tyson. Rich.
By the way, go back to the Aaron Rodgers thing,
because we're talking about people licking toads in ayahuasca earlier?
(01:43:08):
Am I losing my wine? Did I do Hiahuaska did?
Was there an episode of The Sopranos where Tony's out
in the middle of nowhere and he did some type
of hallucinogen? Is that when he thinks he's Kevin Finnerty
or not? I don't know. I feel like there might
be an old Sopranos episode. Anyway, Let's go to Grace
in the Seattle area. Grace, you're on with Covine and Rich. Hey, guys,
(01:43:29):
great show, first time, long time. Thanks. Yeah. Um, just
wanted to make a real quick comment. Um, I think
it's about a maturity and it's really emphasis emphatic, and
it's really good. You guys are pointing this out. It's
about being navigated by somebody who's been there and through it.
Because the problem is kids, you know, do stuff and
(01:43:49):
they don't realize that's your retroval. I mean, we're still
seeing you know today, you know, hey, take a drink
of this and it turns out to be a you know,
slamming something mixture of these wonderful cafe and drinks to
keep us all functioning. Kids kids kids are kids are
dumb thinking about they were eating tide pods because someone
(01:44:10):
said it. So, yeah, you gotta be exactly well and
real quick. I did a high school volunteering. This is
extraordinary if if your school is an option. It was
a private school. My parents didn't trust the public, and
then the private turns I would be a lot worse
than they didn't know. But it was a wonderful education.
The point is I would volunteer. Now. It was called
Jefferson House and was in Tacoma, and um, there is
(01:44:30):
a young guy there and you know, Nathan's probably passed
on now, it's been a long time. He was irretrievably
broken his brain and he was a beautiful young man.
He was a couple of years older than me. I
was in high school. So I mean, and you're having
a conversation with him and then suddenly gone, you know,
the squirrel ran by and he's not there anymore. And
it's terribly sad because I mean some children are even
(01:44:52):
born that way, which is, you know, really difficult on
the family. But you know, don't take things without having
a really good understanding. And if somebody says, hey, this
might not end well, take that into advisement. Please, thank you.
I appreciate your call. Yeah, things don't things don't always
end well. That's sadly the truth. Sadly the truth. Now,
(01:45:12):
that is all in regards to our previous conversation about
Aaron Rodgers. If you missed any of it, like we said,
everything's at Fox Sports Radio dot com. Thanks so much
for the call eight Fox. Now. Can you know the
NFL is creeping up on us? It sounds so crazy, right.
We already had one the Hall of Fame game and
I saw some of the wind total over unders in
(01:45:36):
Las Vegas. And after we get an update from the sager,
I want you guys to tell me what you think
is somebody there's a few of them that I feel
like I want to go to Vegas right now and
just put a ton of money on some of these
over under wind totals for teams where I feel like
there's disrespect or too much respect being given to certain
teams in the NFL. Will get to that in a second.
(01:45:58):
But what's going on after the Dodger went against the
Padres tonight? This from random Stats that Joey Gallo he
was the d h tonight for l A. In games
he started this year, his teams are fifty two and eighteen,
winning percentage of near seven fifty. So clearly he is
the good luck charm. As he went over three with
two more strikeouts tonight, that's not possible, right, Yeah, Joey
(01:46:20):
Gallo brings the vibes. He brings the vibes. You don't know,
maybe maybe you'll like Joey gallow over your house. It's
like the best party. It's like a big debate. Richard
was like, is he ruining the team? And the debate was,
how could he be ruining the team if they're winning still?
But guess what, since he left the Yankees, they haven't
won a Dodgers have won eight in a row. Shut
(01:46:41):
out the Padres for nothing tonight in this three game
series in l A. The Dodgers outscored him twenty to four,
and against the Padres head to head they've won I
believe it's now seventeen of their last nineteen matchups. Cody
Bellinger had two solo homers. The Padres only had two
hits total two for twenty eight. Winning pitcher Tyler Anderson
of l A thirteen and one after his seven scoreless
(01:47:02):
innings and two hits allowed Dodger third baseman Justin Turner
could come off the i L on Tuesday. Dodgers off
tomorrow Arizona with two runs bottom of the eighth beat
Colorado six four. They got the two runs on a
basis loaded balk and a sac fly. Seattle beat the
Angels six three. Jesse Winker a Grand Slam showey Otani
in the four game series at Seattle went two for
(01:47:23):
sixteen with seven strikeouts, and last month he batted two
twenty four. Otani's due to pitch Monday, perhaps Tuesday at Oakland.
Oakland was getting attendance this weekend as they were hosting
San Francisco. The Giants beat him six to four. Logan
Web ten and five. With the win, The A's with
runners in scoring position went one for fourteen. Crazy game
for Tampa Bay to get a seven nothing win at Detroit.
(01:47:46):
Seven runs in the top of the ninth, all with
two outs, the loss to All Star closer Gregory Soto.
He allowed five of the runs, including back to back
bases loaded walks, and the Tiger offense went three for thirty.
In fact, from the MLB researcher Sarah Lanes, this is,
believe it or not, the first team in the modern
era of baseball to do what the Rays did today,
(01:48:07):
to be in a scoreless game in the ninth or
later and come up with seven runs are more, all
with two outs. That had never happened before. Absolutely it
always happens in baseball, and a strange thing with the
Juan Soto even in the Padre lost tonight, two more walks.
He's nearing a hundred walks already. Nobody else in baseball
has even sixty five so far. Juan Soto tonight passed
(01:48:30):
Ted Williams for most walks before turning in Major league history.
As for the other games, White Sox and Cleveland each one,
and Minnesota lost. The Twins are first in the a
L Central, but now just one game over Cleveland, two
up on the White Sox and Milwaukee lost in tendings
at home, their two back of the first place Cardinals
(01:48:51):
in the NL Central Cards have won seven in a row.
The starters were each bad, but St. Louis beat the
Yankees twelve nine. Aaron Judge did have a two run
single two run doubly has ninety seven r b i s,
but the Yankees left twelve men on base. Nolan Arronado
a three run homer and three hits in the win.
Phillies won their fifth straight. Aaron Nola the winning pitcher
in a thirteen one victory over Washington. The Phillies hit
(01:49:13):
four homers in the first four innings. The Nationals record
is thirty six and seventy four, and Pittsburgh en did
Baltimore's five game winning streak eight to one. NASCAR's four
at Michigan went to Kevin Harvick, snapping a sixty five
race winning drought. Finishing second was Bubba Wallace. There are
three NASCAR races left in the regular season. The p
g A Playoffs start next week, with today's winner now qualifying.
(01:49:36):
South Korea's Jue Young Kim his first PGA Tour title,
gets the win, shooting a final round sixty one in
North Carolina to take the Windham Championship by five strokes,
and the third round had concluded this morning after more
rain yesterday. The Cleveland Browns will not grant the trade
request of running back Kareem Hunt. He'd been skipping team
drills until today wanting a contract extension. The Bills activated
(01:49:59):
offensive lineman Roger Staffold, and the Giants anticipate all of
their guys playing in Thursday's preseason opener at New England.
Back to you, Thank you, Steve the Sager. By the way, Steve,
I know it's not easy to fine, but I wonder
how close the Dodgers top two starters right now, between
Tyler Anderson and Gonslin there twenty six and two. I
wonder if Alias over at the Sports Bureau could look
(01:50:22):
up something, because I wonder what the best winning percentage
for a number one to combo on a team is,
because if they both go like twenty and three or so,
it's not even if they both go eighteen and two
or eighteen and three, that's that's insane. Now that they
have two front line starters that are thirteen and one, insane,
and they are the five starters to start, they piggybacked
(01:50:46):
on each other like okay, you start and then you
come in relief. First they were co five starters to
start the season, I know. And now they're the guys
that are unbelievable. It's just silly. You know. People have
talked about like when the Marlins won the World Series
twenty five years ago, they have are some of the
Orioles pitching staffs. But this is what you're talking about.
It's like winning percentage, Like Ron Gidrey had an incredible
(01:51:08):
three and four twenty five and four one year Giddy.
Maybe there was some teammate that were single digits. Remember
good In was twenty four and four in one of
his earlier in his second year, good And was twenty
four and four. And yeah, but give you twenty six
and two for these two dudes combined. That's insane. Thank
you to say. And as he said, the films are hot,
can you know that team is to look out for?
(01:51:30):
The Philadelphia Phillies are playing great baseball right now, and
he said that the Nationals are thirty six and seventy four.
So something you said earlier I wanted to bring up
real quick before we get the football. You said, Luke
voit must want to punch Hawser and the Hawser in
the face. I said, if I was Luke Foy, I
would want to fight Eric Cosmer, because well, Eric Cosmer
(01:51:52):
denied the trade to the Nationals. He went to Boston
forcing Void to the Nationals now voice playing well, and
he's gonna be a professional. But as a as a
Yankees fan who rooted for him, and I felt so bad,
you would want to fight him, Danny g If if
you're Luke Void and you were gonna sit pretty with
the Padres in a line they were interviewing him about,
(01:52:14):
like Soto in the lineup, He's like, oh man, it's
gonna be a great addition. Like he thought he was
gonna be a part of that squad. To think you
were gonna be part of Soto, Tatis Jr. Bell, uh
Drury and and Luke Void. And he thought he was
part of this mega team that was gonna, you know,
try to threaten your Dodgers. And because Hosmer says, nah,
(01:52:35):
Luke Void is on the thirty six and seventy four
Washington Nationals. Eric Cosmer was smart, right, He was smart
and he earned that clause in his contract but unfortunately
for Void didn't work to his advantage. That's gotta hurt. Honestly,
think about that. You're you're you're playing on a team
that's in contention. It's the opposite, right, Like, uh, Michael Gibbons,
(01:53:00):
the reliever on the Cubs that the Mets got at
the trade deadline. This is the guy that And you know,
even vogel Back, who I saw him rounding third base
and Bobo was laughing. He's like, oh, that's a big
that's a big dude to seventies six ft vogel Back. Now,
there's guys that come from teams that are in last
place that he hits home runs and bunches the way
he gets his donuts. And that's that's actually what he said.
(01:53:22):
That's like, that's his that was his line in the
dug out that he was breathing so hard around the base. Well,
he's great, but guys like that go from the pirates
of the Cubs to the Mets. You know, sometimes it
happens the other way. It's not always like getting a
cool chance out of contender. A guy like Luke Void's like, man,
you know, playoff time one. Now you're on the Nationals
(01:53:43):
knowing that that team's going Cosmer's ass, he should sneak
him old school, a little fam the little ah. Al right, well, hey,
before we get out of here, we'll break. We'll come
back a couple quick NFL win totals in Vegas that
I think it's respectful and we'll get through it next
right here on coven On Rich all right, I want
(01:54:09):
to thank the team here at Fox Sports Radio. Got
the best team in the game, Cavino and Rich. Thank
you to Bobo. Yankees lose five in a row and
now we're the best team. Yeah, dude, Dave lost what
fourteen of their last No, they lost, yeah, eighteen or
(01:54:31):
the last thirty two man, fourteen and eighteen. They're miserable.
I want to shout out Aaron Arnel a k A
Bobo Aaron Arnell on Instagram. Of course, Danny G Radio
our producer, thank you, Steve to Seger. We're Cavino and
Rich at Covino and Rich Rich live in l A.
I'm in Idaho. Steve Cavino on social media. I'll be
(01:54:53):
back on the West Side tomorrow to do Coveno and
Rich on Patreon. So I'm excited about that. By the way.
Hope you guys have had a great weekend as we
played Prince as Bobo throwing some prints. Minnesota. Is this
the year where Kirk Cousins gets over the hump? Or
is Kirk Cousins uh perpetually a you know, slightly above
(01:55:14):
five quarterback that never does it? You said it Buster,
Now you're feeling that. Yeah, I'm looking California feeling Minnesota.
All right, Well let's start with that before we get
out of here. I said Vegas came out with the
odds obviously for wind totals. For teams. I'm gonna throw
a couple at you guys, and I'm gonna first of all,
I'm gonna call it your teams and tell me what
you think. Danny G. Will start with you the Raiders
(01:55:37):
that raid is, oh, this is disrespect eight and a
half over under. So they're saying, um, worse than last year.
How is that possible? You add DeVante Adams to all
those weapons they already had on offense, and the defense
(01:55:57):
got better, and you get one of the best play
a football and they're gonna win less games. Disrespect respect
on the highest standard. So, Danny G, if I were you,
I'm going to Vegas, and I'm laying down a ton
of money on Raiders over eight point five wins. I
think that is the most disrespectful one I've seen on
(01:56:18):
this list. So, I mean, Danny Naylor, they were ten
and seven last year and and they seem to be
better now so that they added weapons now to go
with that, you know, no disrespect to the huge fan
base of the Los Angeles Chargers. I think they'll be
right there in the mix. But I'm going under on
the Chargers ten and a half. Yeah, they got Khalil Mack.
A lot of people forgot that. Justin Herbert's only gonna
(01:56:38):
get better and better. But that division with Russell Wilson
now with the Broncos and the defense to go along
with that, um yeah and me oh and Pat mahomes Yeah,
Pat mahomes here, remember me to bring Danny g fair
to say under ten and a half of the Chargers
because they could still have a respectable ten and seven season.
But I don't think the Chargers are winning games well
(01:57:03):
rich even if they win ten games as an improvement,
and not only are right about there, I think it's
right on ten and a half, So I like the
under there so under ten and a half of the Chargers,
over eight and a half of the Raiders. Now call
me a homer, don't call me a homer from my forts,
But nine and a half I'm going over. This is
(01:57:24):
a team that was one bad Jimmy Garoppolo passed away
and one dropped interception away from going to the super Bowl,
and over nine and a half, I think Arizona got worse.
I think Seattle is garbage now they're they're rebuilding. I
feel like Bobbo has something to say here. I feel
like he disagrees. I'm just don't see tred Lance doing
anything well. That That's why I think how you take
(01:57:47):
such a strong stance with such a big question. That's
because I think a lot of people are not buying
into the social media love for tree Lance because I
am everyone that says all the all the reports of
like he looks on the money. I'm gonna go with
that until I see differently. But you're right. I think
nine and a half is because of the question mark.
Because other than that dust going to be some growing
(01:58:09):
you just ignore growing pains. Do you think he's just
don't It's one of my favorite, one of my favorite shows.
Mike Seever, I love Growing Pains show. That's not he again.
So I like Niners over nine and a half and
the defending a f C champions. I gotta say I
disagree with you there. I mean, that's your team, and
you do sound like a Homer. Yeah you think that.
You think the Niners go nine and eight or less.
(01:58:30):
You think the Niners go from a too big of
a question mark, man too big question mark. They have
a pretty gonna be a learning curve. I'm not saying
they're gonna stink, but they have a pretty easy strength
of schedule in comparison to other power teams. I like
Over nine and a half. I like the Raiders over,
I like the Chargers under the Bengals, I like the
over two nine and a half. They're the defending a
(01:58:51):
f C champs. Forget those sweet white unions, and they
got the sweet white uniforms now, so they beefed up
their offensive line. Tort Burrow and him, Chase and crew
are only going to get better. I know they're They're
playing in a very tough division. So that's that's the
question mark there, right nine and a half. But I
don't know. I think even with ten and seven. That's
(01:59:12):
that's where that Bengal team sits that are better. Now, Bobo,
your Cowboys, you tell me ten and a half under, Okay,
I thought you were going to get angry there. I
think I don't see us doing anything this year. Ezekiel
Elliott's getting worse and worse. Who's our receivers. We got Ceedee,
Lamb and Gallup who's injured most of Gallup who's injured
(01:59:32):
most of the year. I think Dallas is a nine
or ten win team. They could surprise as to win twelve.
But I think a team like Washington, believe it or not,
Washington seven point five. I think the Commanders might be higher,
even if they're eight and nine. The Commander's at seven five.
And I'm pretty stoked that you said the Commanders man
without any hesitation. You know, there's Cowboys take the division. Oh,
(01:59:54):
I think they do. Yeah, but I think it could
be a ten and seven. And then you hit the
under right there. There's one team that I'll never the
Jets five and a half. There's people that think the
Jets are gonna be good this year, and there's a
sentiment that the Lions are gonna be good. So I
don't know. All right, listen, we'll see you guys next week.
Actually we'll see this Friday for the odd couple. Until then,
are eaven there at you baby, see you in the promise.
Look at that, guys,
