the whole cruise here. Munsey's here is well, you're ready
to roll. Yep, let's go. So you are going to

if you are fantasy football players, will get you all
(01:25):
the stats basically if you're not able to watch the games,
if you're listening to us, we will provide every ounce
of information you need to get to every single Sunday
here during the NFL season. Can't wait for all that
can't wait for kickoff and and leading into this NFL season,
I think there's more excitement and anticipation than ever before.
(01:46):
I don't know why it feels this way fantasy football.
It's just welcoming more and more fans. Sports betting is
becoming legalized across every single one of these fifty states.
We got mid term elections, You're gonna see more states
roll over into that. I don't know if it's the
off season storylines which have been rife with controversy and interest,
but this has been a fever pitch leading us up
(02:09):
to this Sunday morning on the West coast, early afternoon
on the East coast. I am I I honestly feel
like I'm jittery right now, like I'm I'm tingling all over.
This is the best this is the best I felt
in years. Steve, I'm alive. It is unbelieable. By the
way of the games that are kicking off right now,
I think we both agree. The game we're focused in
on is his Patriots Dolphins game to see Mike McDaniel
(02:33):
first game as an NFL head coach across the way
from the winning his coach ever in terms of championships
in NFL history. Did you hear what Mike McDaniel said
when they were talking about what Bill has done winning
percentage wise? And he was like, has there ever been
a greater disparity between two coaches winning percentage? He goes
zero and you know, something north of seventy. He was like,
(02:56):
he's been good. Isn't he unbelievable? I'm very anxious to
see how my McDaniel fair's obviously anytime you have divisional games.
Were also watching Pittsburgh at Cincinnati right now. We're looking
at Trebinsky as the starting quarterback for the Steelers as
they get things underway. The question for the Bengals were
they just a miracle one year wondered team or is
(03:17):
this the beginning of great days ahead for the Bengals
With Joe Burrow as their quarterback. Another game we're watching
right now is the Browns and the Panthers, as Baker
Mayfield is now the Panthers quarterback going against his former team.
Also have the debut as Trey Lance as the quarterback
of the Quarty Niners against the Bears. So we have
amazing amount of storyline. So quickly before we get everything
(03:40):
going on right now, as we just get started, I
want to get your quick thought on what happened on
Thursday where the Super Bowl champion Rams got absolutely embarrassed,
beat up and destroyed by the Buffalo Bills. That's, by
the way, I'm always great with my picks. I had
Buffalo when and losing that game, but the Rams by
at least seven points, I'm off and running and two.
(04:01):
But I mean that wasn't just a beat down. I
mean we're talking about sixteen quarterback Hurry, seven sacks, three
interceptions for Stafford. The Bills were nine for ten on
third down conversions. They destroyed the Rams. Was that about
the Rams being that bad? Do they really miss Odell
Beckham Jr. And Von Miller that much? Or the Bills,
(04:22):
who are the preseason favorites in Vegas to win the
Super Bowl? Are they that good? Well? That both the Rams.
I don't think it's because of those key losses and
the r key losses. Odell Beckham obviously was fantastic, especially
in the postseason, and Von Miller is a pre eminent
pass rusher in this league, even though he's approaching forty.
(04:42):
We saw that on display Thursday night. But I really
think it's Andrew Whitworth that hurts the most. The fact
that you're forty year old left tackle from a year
ago helped lead your way to a Super Bowl is gone,
along with the season ending injury to a drafted rookie
they were gonna be counting on to get star starts
up front on the offensive line. This is the stat
of the day for Thursday night, for those who haven't
(05:03):
heard it yet. The Bills didn't blitz, not once, not
the entire game. They got to Matthew Stafford and sacked
him seven times and pressured him a ton, rushing four
and three rushers on every single passing play. It was
an unbelievably poor game by the offensive line. You cannot
judge Matthew Stafford. Really. The Rams offensive skilled position players
(05:25):
like Robinson who just was added this offseason. Until Matthew
Stafford's better better protected. They need to figure that out
in in in a little over a week before we
see them again. Otherwise it's gonna be a long season
for the Rams. That offensive line sixteen pressures, seven sex,
three interceptions, Stafford questions about that elbow. Yeah, they were
not good. I mean, we've seen Super Bowl champions lose
(05:48):
their opening games and not to that degree. So right
now we're watching this New England Miami game. The Patriots
have the ball first. Matt Jones. All these concerns and
training camp, not just in preseason games and in tray
any camp, some people thought he regressed, he wasn't showing progress,
all kinds of worrisome signs. Uh. You know, Traditionally, the
(06:09):
Patriots do not play well in Miami. This has been
a rough place over the years for Belichick, one of
a few places where he's been challenged in his dominance
of the a f C East. But right now, in
this opening drive, they are moving the ball. Uh. And
and the thing about the Patriots a year ago, they
made that decision to say goodbye to Cam Newton, hand
the ball to Mac Jones. The rookie and they overperformed
(06:32):
uh and end up making the playoffs, which very few
people thought they would This year. The over under Vegas
is like eight wins. Most people think that they are
not going to be a playoff team. But so far
in this opening drive, of course of Mac Patricia now
calling the plays, I mean, this has been all this commotion.
You played for this organization, you know, this organization. Uh.
(06:53):
Should there be concerns in two or is it business
as usual? It feels like business as usual, Tenny to
you who I spoke to, has ever played in New England?
Like this is just what it is. I remember when
I was there, we didn't have a named offensive coordinator.
Billy O'Brien was our coordinator. He was he called the plays,
he ran the offensive meetings, but he was our quarterbacks coach.
(07:15):
So everybody looked at Billy oh as the offensive coordinator
inside the building, but on the outside of the building,
who was referred to as Patriots quarterback coach Billy O'Brien.
It's it's one of those things, man like, where it
doesn't matter what the rest of the world is saying
about you. It's what gets done inside the building and
the off season, the preseason, it's typically used for testing
out theories ideas new packages, new plays, cultivating the offense
(07:39):
or the defense that you want to run come the season.
That's the place where you can and should make mistakes
so you can learn from those mistakes and be a
better team for it come the regular season. And so,
like I said, anybody who I've talked to has ever
played their coach, they're been around that program for a
long time, said, Yeah, it just sort of seems like
everybody's overreacting. This is Bill Belichick. Mac Jones had a
really good rookie year. Let's see what they do in
(08:01):
year two with Mac again, different voice in the headset,
like you alluded to. But I think it's business as usual. Well,
right now, they're moving right down the field against this
Miami defense, who had got nine games going on right now,
still waiting for our first score. Usually we have at
least a field gore something at this point, but no
one's gotten on the board yet. The nine games all
no scores right now, but so far. You know, again,
(08:23):
this is not a Patriots team that's loaded with star power.
Hunter Henry, by the way, just caught a pass for
a first down there. I think he's gonna play a
big role for this offense as he did a year ago.
He's not guant but believe me, he is a high
end tight end for an organization that loves to lean
on their tight ends to help move their offense. Meanwhile,
the Browns have the ball first in this battle against
(08:45):
the Panthers, who were waiting Baker Mayfield to take the field.
Panthers had a first three and out. Oh, we have
an interception and the Miami Dolphins are going to have
it at their own twenty eight yard line. This is
going the other way. Jones is looking back at the
officials behind him. It looks like he was unhappy with
(09:07):
either a no call on roughing the passer. Let's see
what happened here now. He was, he was upset about
the He was he was conveyingous thoughts about the past
interference that wasn't called. There was a lot of physicality,
a lot of face guarding in the end zone that's
where the interception took place, and it was ran out
to the twenty eight yard line. Would be Dolphins ball
(09:28):
when action returns. There Yeah, no review that one year
review on passing reference that went by the wayside, absolutely
all right. So the Browns had the ball right now
as they continue to drive. But mentioned also the forty
Niners on the road against the Chicago bar Jacoby Brisette
just threw a pick and it is going the other
way into the end zone. That'll be a touchdown flag
(09:50):
on the play though, we'll see what it is, alright. Also,
the Lions right now playing against the Eagles, and they've
got a Jacoby that there was Joe Burr. I'm looking
at the Cincinnati Bengals game the Steelers. The Lions are
knocking on the door right now. So the Lions are
hosting the Eagles and Jared Golf. Of course, if you've
been watching Hard Knocks, you've been seeing this Lions team,
(10:12):
and actually it actually was a pretty good season of
Hard Knocks this year. But right now, the Lions are
at the goal and we do have a field goal,
and that's the first score of the game. It's from
the Jacksonville Jaguars as they take a three nothing lead
there against the Commanders. First points on the board from
(10:32):
the Jacks of this NFL season, Sunday Laders and already
make a difference right there. I see what the Steelers goal.
The Steelers did get that pick six, Yeah they did,
all right, we got our first touchdown. It's from the
Detroit Lions Star of Hard Knocks touchdown. Oh man, we
missed that. The Steelers did get a well, that's what
I'm saying. So Joe Burrow got picked off. It was
(10:54):
ran back. They were seeing if there was gonna be
a flag on the play. It was a no call.
So Steelers scored the first touchdown defensively of this of
this Sunday. And then it was followed by the Jamal
Williams what two yard plunge Detroit lines on the board
first against Philadelphia. All right, So Minca Fitzpatrick. A thirty
one yard pick six for Pittsburgh turned out to be
(11:16):
the first touchdown, and that was Joe Burrow's fault. He
threw it into triple coverage. There were a lot more
set in oman than his first pass of the season
as a pick six. You could make a you can
make an argument. Wow, we've talked about Super Bowl hangovers,
especially for teams that lose Super Bowl. So Joe burrows
(11:37):
first pass of the two season is a pick six
at home and this tea Steelers take a seven and nothing.
LEAs also, Falcons just got on the board with three
points of their own, hosting the New Orleans Saints. So
we'll see Jams Winston when play resumes there. All right,
we're gonna take a breath, we're gonna get reset here.
We're just getting started. Nine games, nine aimes going on
(12:00):
right now in the NFL. For all your NFL information
every single Sunday, keep it right here. This is Fox
Sports Red Zone Radio. This is Fox Red Zone Radio,
and we've got the place that you may admiss. So
(12:21):
wide side to his right, he gets the snappy, wants
to throw it late rush. He throws it down a
five intershipt in at the thirty twenty mcait Pretrick goes
into the in zone from the Pittsburgh Well, we gotta
mark her down on the place. So hold on now,
back live to the studios of Fox Sports Radio. This
(12:42):
is Fox Red Zone Radio. All right. So that was
w v E one or two point five FM Steelers
Radio network. Touchdown was good forget the flag Joe Burrow's
first pass of the season to pick six Steelers that
game seven and nothing. Meanwhile, a team that was featuring
(13:04):
our hard knocks off to a good start, all right,
all right, well, we'll get back to that. That was
a very short highlight there. Courtesy of w x y
T FM Night seven point one, the Ticket Lions Radio network.
The Lions take a seven nothing lead against Eagles. It
was a half a second highlight. But you're okay, okay,
(13:27):
let's hear it right now. He doesn't. But we got
the Lions other games. By the way, the Bengals have
now gotten a field goal, so Steelers still lead that
game seven three. Also, the Commanders have taken a seven
to three lead over the Jaguars. Let's check this out
right now. That was a touchdown Antonio Gibson. Did he
(13:50):
get in? It's no, it is uh. Curtis Samuel passed
from Carson Wins his first touchdown, passed as the Commander's
quarterback three yard score, So the Washington Commanders have a
seven or three lead over the UH over the Jaguars
right now, Let's get back to that. Lions score second
and goal from inside the one I formation behind gives
(14:14):
to Jamal Williams. Tries the light side back this off
the tackle. He's hold touch down Detroit Lions. What a
run by Javal Williams. Look out for those Lions, all right.
So that is w x y T FM nine seven
one to Ticket Lions Radio network. So the Lions have
the seven to three lead. There. Once again, we are
here in the Fox Sports Red Zone Radio. It is
(14:35):
live from the ti iraq dot com studios. As we
continue updates you on everything going on. Nine games going
on right now. The Falcons with a three nothing lead
over the Saints. Still knows score forty Niners and Bears.
It is pouring rain in Chicago. Dolphins have gotten a
field goalie have taken the early three nothing lead against
the Patriots. Let's hear the Commanders getting on the board.
(14:59):
What's of the gun? Gets it to his right, two
wide receivers to the left. He asked Samuel to come
and motion again playoffs. That gives it a quick toss
to work. Samuel died into the touchdown. The touchdown Washington,
the first touchdown in Washington Commander's history is a three
art pass from Parson Wentz to Curtis Samuel, Big one
(15:20):
Commanders Radio network. So the Commanders with a seven three
lead over the Jaguars. Colts, by the way, I have
a three nothing lead against the coat still no score,
Brown's Panthers, Jets, and Ravens. Carson Wentz getting his first
touchdown pass with the Commanders. He's been passed around for
a couple of teams. You know, a year ago, he
didn't play terrible for the Colts until the game's mattered,
(15:42):
and then he completely folded up with those late losses
to the Raiders. Of course, that embarrassing loss to Jacksonville
then knocked him out of the playoffs. Any sense of
what he'll do as the Commander's quarterback, Well, he's gonna
be what Carson Wentz is, which is a middle tier
quarterback who's gonna keep the wheels on. He's better than
a Ridge. Um. I wouldn't I wouldn't call him very good.
He's good. Carson Wentz is a good quarterback. He's a
(16:05):
reliable quarterback, and he's gonna do some things that wow
you and do certain things that completely baffle you. Very
similar in in a lot of ways to Jimmy Garoppolo, right,
very similar playing style. You know that for the most
part their steady eddie, they're gonna game manage and they'll
win you some. But there are times where they make
confounding decisions and can hurt your team in spots. And
(16:27):
we saw that, Like you said, last game of the
regular season for the Colts on the road in Jacksonville
did not go the way they plan, knocked them out
of playoff contention and essentially ended his time in Indianapolis.
Of course, they've moved on now and they have Matt
Ryan at quarterback in Indie and Indianapolis leads three nothing
visiting NFC excuse me, an FC South rival the Houston Texans. Alright,
(16:50):
couple of quarterbacks of interest today. Trey Lance off to
a good start to for two thirty seven yards, no
score yet for the forty Niners. Baker Mayfield's debut with
the Panthers. Again, it's his former team, the Cleveland Browns.
Baker Mayfield is two for three for negative one yard. Right.
That's not a good start, right. Yeah. Look, I I
think that there was a lot of talk leading up
(17:11):
to this game, but this is what it is. This
is a Carolina team that's rebuilding and trying to find
their way at quarterback. We'll see what, um what it
looks like in the future. Right now, it sort of
feels like Baker's just a bridge quarterback. While they settle themselves.
In the Cleveland Browns, they're at the finishing touches of
their rebuild. But they have Jacoby Bursett starting for them
because they're waiting on Deshaun Watson's suspension. He won't return
(17:35):
until week twelve of this NFL season eleven games suspension
uh for Deshaun Watson. So these are two teams that
are going to be really clawing their way through the
early part of the season in terms of Cleveland, um
for Carolina, and maybe an entire season. And we're seeing
the early effects of this. Not great quarterback play, plenty
of skill on the field, and we've got to pass
(17:57):
interference in the game. I believe eve on Carolina that
will march the ball closer to midfield for Cleveland. By
the way, the first pass Baker Mayfield to Christian McCaffrey,
we've said, look, Carolina has no offense without McCaffrey. That
first pass was for negative five yards, not exactly what
the Panthers are looking for, not what Christian McCaffrey is
used to doing. So meanwhile, we have the Browns right
(18:19):
now as they near midfield, and Jacoby per said, as
you mentioned, is gonna be assuming that he stays healthy
the starting quarterback for the first eleven games this year
before Deshaun Watson returns uh from really a two year
hiatus in the NFL. Uh He of course, you know
we we were talking about another team today that's in
(18:40):
actually would be the Baltimore Ravens and their quarterbacks still
doesn't have a deal done as Lamar Jackson still trying
to get that Deshaun Watson money and the Ravens aren't
biting yet. They're not about they hand him two are
in thirty million dollars guaranteed, which means we could be
heading to a franchise. Tagging Lamar Jackson again since he
(19:00):
represents himself. What's gonna happen as far as his psyche
for a Raven season. A lot of people are expecting
the Ravens to sort of reassert themselves as the best
team in this a f C North that has all right,
let's let's go to monster Alanjos right now, Monsey has
got some breaking news for US Monsey. What do you
have breaking news, Happy Sunday? Breaking news in college football.
(19:27):
Nebraska has fired their head coach, Scott Frost. They did
lose yesterday to Georgia Southern and they've officially fired their
head coach Scott Frost. All right, this is amazing because
a lot of stories after losing at home to Georgia's Southern,
I mean, it just goes from bad to worse with
Scott Frost. But the thinking was they got Oklahoma coming up,
(19:49):
and you know that. Also, the buyout on his contract
was a lot less after October one, Like it was
a matter just try, i mean on when he would
get fired. But apparently seen at home to Georgia Southern,
enough is enough. Scott Frost returned to Nebraska was absolute disaster.
National Championship winning coach Scott Frost. Yeah, it's uh, it's
(20:10):
one of those things where you know, this happens a
lot in college football in the NFL, promotions oftentimes don't uh,
don't don't. It's not obvious that a promotion is going
to work out until you actually see it in action.
At uf UCF, he had a couple of special years,
really talented recruits who came into that program during his
(20:31):
time there. And I'm not saying he doesn't have coaching chops,
but at Nebraska it has been disastrous in terms of results,
especially in close games. If you look at one score
games over the time that Scott Frost had been there
with the Huskers. Uh, that that, really, to me, is
an indicator of coaching. Is when when you're losing that
many close games. Uh, it's uh, it's it's a it's
(20:53):
an unfortunate reality that that the Husker fans were I
would say enjoying suffering through probably is the right word.
During his tenure. Well, I mean, Nebraska needs a reality check.
Remember Bo Polini had seven years there. We won nine
or ten games every single season, never one lets the
nine games, and he literally got booed out of town. Um,
(21:13):
they would love to have those days back in Nebraska, Sam,
I know you've got a lot to say about Nebraska.
Are you happy that Nebraska football has completely declined as
an Iowa sympathy sympathy guy? You know? Um, Well, here's
the thing. I mean, Bo Polini was not well liked
though by the fans and the media. Departure, Scott Frost
(21:34):
was a golden child coming home. So well, he got
booed right more than enough time to get things turned around.
I mean they gave up. You ready for this, about
six hundred thirty seven total yards. Did Georgia Southern and
FCS school at home yesterday? Six d thirty Georgia Southers
in the FBS. Now I think they're in the Sun Belt?
Are they? They left the FCS there, got their g Yeah,
they're Georgia Southern is in the Sun Belt. I'll double
(21:57):
check on that, alright, double check on that. That might
be one of those schools like Liberty, for example, the
Flames where Malik Willis came from. That you oftentimes forget
is a member of a major FBS conference or a
Group of Five conference. But yet either way, Scott Frost
did not work out in Nebraska, and that time has
ended much to the relief i'd imagine of many corn
(22:17):
Husker fans. Alright, Matt Ryan making his debut as the
Colts quarterback off to a good start so far, six
of eight sixty four yards shot at the Taylor, of course,
projected by many to be the number one ground gainer
in the NFL, He's also off to a good start
here with two minutes to go on the first quarter.
Eight carries for thirty five yards. This is a team
(22:39):
that maybe flying a little bit under the rads on
the board. With a Taysom Hill touchdown, New Orleans takes
a six three lead. Uh we'll see. Uh, we'll see
if they can attack on the extra point. All right,
let's find out what's trendy right now. So let's head
it back to Monsey and Moncy Is. You're getting a
taste already. Here on a Sunday, things are very big,
(23:00):
it's very busy. It's like, how do I keep track
of all the games? Trying to keep games job? I know,
I know I can't do this, but there's some that
are like more interesting than others, you know. So it's like, oh,
I want to watch this game, but I want to
I want to see what's happening in this game. Uh no, no,
I like it. I like it, guys. I I like
(23:21):
the feeling of uncertainty exactly like you just said. The
Saints they just scored on the Falcon So they're up
right now six to three, got about six minutes left
in the first quarter of that game. The Steelers and
Bengals going at at its. Steelers are up seven to three,
five minutes left in the first quarter of that game.
The Lines are up by a touchdown on the Eagles,
still six minutes in that game. The Dolphins and Patriots
(23:43):
just ended the first quarter. Dolphins are by a field goal.
Commanders are up seven to three on the Jaguars, and
the Culture by a field goal on the Texans. They're
about to end the first quarter. The big news right
now that we heard earlier today Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson
turning down is X year contract extension worth up to
two hundred and ninety million dollars because it was not
(24:05):
fully guaranteed. Only a hundred and thirty three million were guaranteed,
and he was not happy about that. I don't even
know what to say, guys, because that's just too many
zeros for me to comprehends lies zero, So I don't
get it, you know, there's too many. Just take the zeros.
I don't know, zero zeros. Yeah. Uh. We got a
(24:25):
couple of inactive players. Tight end for the forty Niners
George Kittle inactive. Also with the Ravens. JK. Dobbins, offensive
tackle Ronnie Stanley, quarterback Marcus Speers all inactive for their
game against the Jets, but Saints receiver Michael Thomas is
active for their game against the Falcons earlier today Fox Sports,
Jay Glazer reported that the Cowboys had a scare this
(24:46):
week when Dak Prescott said that he felt like something
had popped in his foot. X rays were negative. They
think he just popped some scar tissue. So he is
good for tonight, but kind of scary. Back to you guys, Hi, monsy,
Thank you very much, and now let's get ready for
a big game coming up later on this afternoon. Now
(25:12):
it's time for the NFL on Fox Focus. We're talking
about the Packers on the road against the Vikings. And
joining us right now. Lead analysts for Fox NFL Greg
Olsen is joining us. First of all, Greg, thanks for
joining us here on Fox Sports Red Zone Radio. This
is one of those games that we talked about week one, Greg,
where are you saying, heyy, it's an eighteen weeks season
(25:34):
at seventeen games schedule. How much the week one games matter?
Will they matter when they're divisional games? Vikings have new leadership.
Let's talk about Minnesota right now. Kevin O'Connell. What changes
is he anticipated to bring to this Vikings team. Yeah,
I have an all week and talking and prepping with
(25:55):
you know, prepping for this game. You can hear that
his impact across the entire building, across the entire franchise
has been has been felt, you know, little things just
his communication, his ability to relate and communicate to the
players and to his staff exactly the philosophy, exactly how
he wants things done. And then you know, heard be
heard from the players. He altered, you know, little things
with the practice schedule and when they watch game film
(26:16):
and when they watch everything about it is very different
compared to the past regime. And and to all the
players we spoke to, you know, not so much in
a in a negative towards the Zimmer, you know time,
but just it was new. It feels fresh, It feels
new and offensive minded guy for the first time around here,
um in Minnesota. So I think there's a lot of optimism.
I think there's a lot of excitement going into week one.
(26:38):
And then you look at the Packers. I look, Alan
Lazar didn't practice all week. He as an ankle, Bobby
Tony and he's got a knee of the tight end target.
Who's there Rogers throwing the football too this Sunday. Well,
I'll tell you that's gonna be something that we're gonna play,
play close attention to um. You know, as this one
kicks off, I think that's been a lot of the
conversational offseason all preseason is you know who who is
(27:00):
going to fill that void of you know, Davante Adams.
I think there was a lot of optimism and hope
that it was gonna be Alan Lazard. Of course, now
we know he's not gonna play, So you know they're
gonna need some of their young guys to to step up.
They're gonna see they're gonna need Tops and and and
Walker and these guys. They're gonna need them to step
up and play even though they're rookies. Um. You know,
Randall Cobb is a guy that that Aaron Rodgers has
a ton of trust and a ton of faith, Um,
(27:22):
so you expect him to rely on him. And then
I think the two X factors today are Aaron Jones
and uh and and a J. Dillon. I think they're
gonna have two running backs on the field a lot.
You know, Aaron told us there two of the best
eleven and we gotta find ways to get them on
the field at the same time. So I think it's
gonna be a lot of guys chipping in I don't
think any one player can replace Davante Adams. And uh,
(27:43):
the nice thing is we're gonna find out here shortly
exactly what the plan is. Yeah, I want to get
back to Minnesota now. Kirk Cousins, he and Kevin O'Connell
had some time together in Washington. You mentioned having an
offensive minded head coach for the Vikings. How much impact
do you think that's gonna have on Kirk cuss And
I think it's gonna have a great impact on him.
(28:03):
I think Kirk Cousins, for whatever reason, the narrative around
the NFL with him, I don't think he necessarily gets
the credit that his production, his numbers um deserve. I
know everyone holds the you know, the playoffs while you
know the playoff appearances, the playoff wins because that's kind
of the the blots on his on his resume. But
as far as production, as far as being efficient moving,
you know, scoring their the offense around Minnesota has not
(28:25):
been the problem over the last couple of years. The
defense is what really let him down. So I think
some fresh ideas. We all know the coaching tree that
Kevin O'Connell comes from, you know, with his time Um,
you know, obviously with McVeigh and Shanahan and most recently
they're with the Super Bowl champs in l A. So
I think he's gonna bring a lot of fresh ideas.
Every quarterback who plays in this system plays well, and
(28:45):
when you're working with a guy that has the traits
in the experience of Kirk Cousins, I expect him to
be the next guy on that list. By the way,
Pittsburgh back on the board again. Just scored a touchdown
after Joe Burrow gets sack fumbled the ball away. So
it's ten three in Cincinnati right now, joined by Greg
Oles in here on Fox Sports Radio ahead of Minnesota
Vikings hosting the Green Bay Packers later on. You know,
(29:05):
I look at Aaron Rodgers offseason, a lot of controversy,
a lot of thoughts. He's definitely a target in the media. Um,
but we all know this. It doesn't matter what everybody
else says on the outside. It matters what your locker
room thinks of you inside the Green Bay facility, inside
that building, in that locker room, how do the players
feel about their quarterback? Well, I mean I think I
(29:29):
think that it's pretty clear that he's you know, he's
regarded not not only across the league, but you know
specifically inside the locker room and in that organization as
a as a premier, you know, all time great player.
I mean, he this team goes as he goes. I
think a lot of the confidence for some of the
moves they've made this offseason, just like you mentioned earlier
with letting Dante Adams. So I don't think you're comfortable
(29:50):
making moves like that unless you believe that your quarterback
has the ability to fill those gaps, to fill those
voice and elevate the play of the guys around him.
And I think throughout his entire career, we've seen Aaron
Rodgers elevate the play of everybody around him. We've seen
him carry teams to the playoffs. We've seen him, you know,
take care of the ball in historic rat I just
(30:10):
think across the board, there's no there is no controversy,
there's no conversation within that path that Packers organization of
who's the leader, who's in charge, and who makes that
that thing though, and uh, you know all those things
all lead to Aaron Rodgers. Yeah. And and final thing here, Greg,
just talking about his legacy, as you mentioned obviously, first
ballot Hall of Famer, four time m v P. You know,
(30:32):
one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time. But still
he was a contemporary of a guy that's been to
ten Super Bowls and won seven. Aaron Rodgers has been
to one Super Bowl and one one. It's been more
than a decade since that Super Bowl victory for him
to really get into that upper upper, upper upper lexicon
of all time great quarterbacks. Do you feel like he
(30:54):
needs another Super Bowl appearance, another Super Bowl win. I mean,
I think it would be a chair. I think it
would be the cherry on top. I think it's very
similar to a lot of the conversations people had around
Peyton Manning, right, and then Peyton won his last one
on his kind of farewell tour there in Denver, and
I think that got that narrative kind of out of
the picture. But as you said, he's the first ballot
Hall of Famer, he's historically you know, when you look
(31:16):
at what he's been able to do at a consistent
level now for eighteen years, he's historically good. Um, he's
not just good for this era. He's not just good
compared to his you know, his peers he's he's historically
good as you match him up at any time. You know,
in NFL history, what he's done a lot of ways
is unprecedented. So yeah, I mean if you asked him that,
does he think he needs another super Bowl in his resume? Absolutely?
(31:36):
Does he try? Is he try and like tell to
win one? Absolutely? Um. They believe they have the roster.
They believe now with the defense they've put together and
the improvements they've made there, if they can get some
production out of these offensive weapons around Aaron, with the
defense they believe they have coming back, they feel this
is a super Bowl. You know, this is a super
Bowl or bus type Keep all right, Greg, I think
(31:58):
we're losing you right there, but we want to thank
you once again. We cannot wait. We'll be watching today
Packers on the Roads against the Vikings. The great Greg
Olson join us right there. Of course he will be
doing the analysis on that broadcast coming up a little
later on Fox. And again when we talk about divisional
games week one, Rich, you know, it's an eighteen week schedule,
seventeen game schedule, there's a lot of football to be played,
(32:21):
but Week one games when you have a division rival,
makes it a little bit more because every division game
is essentially to Yeah, think about it. You got Vegas
playing against the Chargers, you got Patriots Dolphins. This morning,
we talked about it already with Pittsburgh now leading Cincinnati
on the road. And since that's the other part of this,
(32:43):
like if if the Patriots can pull it off in Miami,
if the Steelers can pull it off, and since he
not only is it a divisional win, it's a divisional
road win. You know you gotta you gotta collect some
of those two. So if you get off to a
road division victory to start your season, you're sit pretty
heading into week two. All right, we're already heading into
the second quarter of many of the games out there.
(33:05):
We will continue on to bring you all the information.

(34:19):
of Fox Sports Radio. This is Fox Red Zone Radio.
All right. That was w LW Saints Radio Network. Saints
have a seven to three lead in Atlanta. As they
get ready for that second quarter, let's keep it rolling.
Sam fucking goal seven nothing deploy two minutes in the quarter,
(34:41):
Number two hurts fakes rules, walks in touchdown. He affected
inside the seven. The Lions fit and it was a
scroll in the part. That's ninety four w i P
Eagles Radio Network. Eagles have tied up that game with
the Lion and so let's get to a little update
here once again. This is Fox Sports Red Zone Radio.
(35:04):
Hartmann and arm Burger with you. We mentioned the Saints
leading in the Falcons seven three start the second quarter
of what we have going on. We have Joey Burrows
having an awful first half in this UH. This game.
The Cincinnati Bengals are hosting the Pittsburgh Steelers, who lead
by seven tenth three ball game right now, just through
his second interception of the game. So so far, the
(35:24):
Cincinnati Bengals have only possessed the ball four times and
the outcomes have been interception returned by the Steelers Minca
Fitzpatrick for a touchdown, field goal, fumble on a strip,
sack by Joe Burrow, and then this recent interception. So
he's turned the ball over on three of four Bengals
possessions right now. He's seven atten just fifty nine yards
(35:47):
those two picks and total. He's also been sacked by
the way three times, so that Bengals offensive line is
being overrun by that Steeler defensive front, not making things
easy for Joe Burrow. So mentioned, Steelers leading the Bengals
ten three, UH, pouring rain in Chicago. Still no score
right now. Between the forty Niners and the Bears trade
(36:08):
lances two and four thirty seven yards in that one.
Eagles Lions tied at seven just starting the second quarter. There,
Dolphins have an early ten and nothing lead. They just
scored a touchdown to a tongue of viol Off to
a good start right now. He's eight of eleven seventy
seven yards, Matt Jones seven and nine fifty eight yards
and that interception in the end zone early in the game.
(36:30):
So so right now, Miami taking a ten to nothing
lead over the Patriots. Also, Ravens leading at the Jets three.
Nothing much, not much to talk about their Lamar Jackson
not doing anything six of ten just thirty seven yards
passing for the Ravens. Commanders have a seven to three
lead over the Jaguars. Carson wentzes look good. Nine of
thirteen hundred and twelve yards and a score. Browns Panthers
(36:53):
don't ask, no score, nothing going on. How about this
for the two quarterbacks, Jacobe bur said four of ten
twenty five yards Baker Mayfield four or seven for seven yards.
That is an absolutely unwatchable game so far. Colts and Texans.
Houston has just made a field goal. They are three
three right now. So those are the nine games going
(37:14):
on around the National Football League and so far, not
a whole lot of offense. Rich No, No, And this
is the story of many NFL seasons is the defense
comes first. The defense they coalesced early. Offense takes more time.
And I understand you have holdover pieces year to year
(37:36):
and and sometimes these quarterbacks play a quarter century like
Tom Brady, but it's a different team every single season.
It's a different offense. You have different players in different places,
new offensive line and new faces at skill position, whatever
it may be. And so the offense takes time to
gel so early, at least in the first half. So
far this Sunday, we're seeing that play out live and
(37:57):
living color. You know, a lot of teams now with
a pre se reason down to three games, chose not
to play any of their regulars. And I'll tell you
what I'm just watching right now, especially some of these
quarterbacks and new teams, Wentz maybe being the exception. I'm
just watching Baker Mayfield. He he looks completely out of sync.
Speaking of which touchdown, Washington Carson Wentz to John Dotson,
(38:20):
So right now, wins is the hot quarterback anybody have
Wents on their team right now? To touchdowns already for
Carson Wentz, so at least early on on this first
Sunday in the NFL. Who would have thought Carson Wentz
would be the red hot quarterback. Meanwhile, the Dolphins on
the board. Vante Let's come into touchdown Miami Ingram picked
(38:46):
it up on the bounce that it's the Dolphins. Radio
network says he mentioned earlier. Miami now with a ten
to nothing lead over the Patriots. Touchdown Falcons Cordarrell Patterson
gets in the end zone. All right, So the foul
and getting on the board right now, they take a
nine seven lead, penning the extra point. By the way,
we haven't had a miss extra point yet, guys, you
(39:07):
so you were pretty good for a miss extra point
sometime early on in the first half of these early games.
But so far, I haven't had that many touchdowns. That's
probably the reason we haven't had a miss extra points.
Do we have a turnover here with the Browns and Carolina?
I see Browns celebrating. Yes, Baker Mayfield just do an
interception right He looks awful? Can I Can I just
(39:28):
say that right now? He looks like he has never
taken a snap as the Carolina Panthers quarterback. He has
no clue who he's throwing the ball to right now.
You gotta remember, Baker Mayfield, it was a late trade.
He didn't have much time to prepare for the season
with the Panthers. So as much as he wants to
beat the tar out of his old team, the Cleveland Browns,
(39:50):
it takes time. We were just talking about this. It
takes time early in the season for offenses to gel,
especially when you bring in a brand new quarterback and
not one who has came off of particularly sex successful
campaign with his last team. So it's a heavy lift
right now. In Carolina, five of eleven for fifteen yards,
has three yards of completion and a pick that is
(40:13):
a passer radian of fourteen point six. Uh. That is
not going to help him as far as future job
security if this continues in Carolina. All right, once again,
if you're just tuning in, this is where you're gonna
get all your coverage throughout the season. Every Sunday for

Niners Radio Network. Niners get on the board first. They
leave the Bears seven nothing Rich. I want to get
back to the Steelers Bengals game. Bengals are looking awful
right now, and Trabinsky is off to a really solid start.
He's seven and nine, seventy seven yards and a touchdown.
(42:51):
We've been talking about that Steelers quarterback situation. Kenny Pickett,
the incoming rookie, looking very good in the preseason tra
Whisky play well, even Mason Rudolph played well. Um, but
a lot of people wondering how would the Steelers fair
post Ben Roethlisberger. Keep in mind they have a future
Hall of Fame coach and Mike Tomlin who has never
had a losing season, and it's obvious he had his
(43:14):
team ready for this game today against the Bengals. Yeah,
there's no doubt they've been preparing off season, all off
season to play against the Super Bowl contender Cincinnati Bengals.
And it's showing. And and again, look, Zach Taylor is
a fine coach. He was able to navigate a really
great post season and a great regular season effort with
the Cincinnati Bengals team that blasted onto the scene. I
(43:35):
think caught a lot of teams off guard. But now
everybody knows. Now everybody's been put on warning. You're not.
It's not you know. Every week, you know, a team
just has to game plan best they can before they see,
you know, the team that's coming up on their schedule,
all those divisional rivals who you really snuck up on
last year, like the Steelers who have had a great
defense for over a decade now, like the Baltimore Ravens
(43:57):
who have had a great defense for over a decade out,
like the Cleveland Browns who have had a great defense
for the past three seasons. Yeah, now they're on morning too,
and they're watching the film and they're carefully breaking down
every snap that Joe Burrow took. And they're going to
feast on the problems that this new offensive line presents
as they learned to play again, uh, play along with
(44:18):
each other this season. It's it's not going to be
easy for the Bengals. And plus, remember when you're one
of the final two play team standing, your schedule is
a lot harder, so you don't have anything going in
your favor in terms of how the road is set
up for you. You just have to be better than
you were a year ago. And so far, first quarter
they look a lot worse alright. Meanwhile, the Texans have
(44:41):
taken the lead, Cooks to the left side, watch side
of the field. Davis takes the snap on first out,
looking throwing to the end, so he's got Okay Howard,
he's got a touchdown. That's Texans Radio Networks. So with
two thirties seven ago in the first half, the Houston
Texans on that Davis Mills O. J. Howard pass have
take gonna ten three lead over the Indianapolis Colts. Keep
(45:04):
it coming. Sam Brissette calling signals church play action fake.
He's got a man wide up but hot Tobost he's
got it touched out into the alright, so that right
there is uh like, let's Brown's radio network. The Browns
right now have taken a lead if by him, right,
seven nothing over the Panthers. We mentioned that, you know,
(45:27):
Joe Kobe Burssett, uh really not doing much. It was
a pass interference call, almost an inexplicable play by Henderson,
the defender of the Panthers. The ball was interceptive, but
that's after he tackled the Browns receiver that he completely
lost and that gave the first and goal for the Browns.
They take advantage and get the early seven nothing lead
(45:48):
ten minutes ago in the first half there in Carolina. Yeah,
staying with the theme of the day, it's we're not
seeing a lot of scoring offensively in the first half
of the early Sunday action here. Pittsburgh has seventeen on
the ball. Word, but outside of them, it's only Washington
with double tidgets points. So Steelers leading seventeen three in Cincinnati,
Washington leading fourteen three in Jacksonville, and outside of that,
(46:12):
I don't think there's another game. Oh yeah, there you go.
Miami tend to nothing, Falcons ten seven over the Saints,
but more than ten points, he said, only two teams
more than ten points here in the first half. Usually
there's at least one breakout game. Uh, sort of that
game right now with Pittsburgh dominating the Bengals. But you know,
we got a lot of new quarterbacks in new situations.
(46:34):
And maybe I was we're talking a little bit earlier
about this getting all those reps in the preseason. I
started downplay that. You know. To me, I'd like to
see the total elimination of preseason football. But a lot
of teams chose to sit there starters, and especially when
you have a new quarterback in a new system, it
takes time to get in sync with everybody. And we
see a lot of quarterbacks right now at of sake
(46:56):
of the first half of these games. Yeah, you know.
And then the other thing about it is as sports
betting is becoming legalized state to state and across the
United States, a lot of people are concentrating on hey
point totals, and boy oh boy, Yeah, the NFL is
such a quarterback dependent league right now. Gotta gotta bang
all these overs. Yeah, it's it's it's interesting. It's changed
the way we've looked at sport in general, but especially football,
(47:20):
how much we pay attention to the offense. But there
are twenty two players on the field at the same
time in football, and you have to bring a defense
and they better pack a lunch if you're gonna have
a successful campaign. And so far, some of the highlights
this Dolphins defense has been just dominating up front against
New England. This Pittsburgh defense we've been talking about this
(47:40):
game absolutely lights out so far against this Bengals offense.
We've seen a lot of really great defensive efforts against
teams who had really successive offensive campaigns this season ago.
When game going on right now now, much happening. Ravens
and the Jets. Ravens where a three nothing leads six
minutes to go in the first half. Lamar Jackson who
could not get a d done yet with a Ravens
(48:02):
just eight to thirteen fifty three yards. He has one
carry for four yards. He's not doing much. Meanwhile, the
Jets without Zack Wilson for a while, which means Joe
Flacco is back and Joe Flacco looking like Joe Flacco.
He's not his sixteen eighties seven yards. He's thrown a
pick and they have no points. The Jets. What a story.
You lose Wilson and it looks like you're gonna lose
(48:23):
him for the first month of the season at least
a non contact injury to his knee that it was
speculated he could return as soon as Week one, But
now it looks like it's gonna be Joe Flacco for
a while. In New York, they've lost several starting offensive lineman.
This team just can't seem to get it right. And
I'm talking about in a lot of ways. They're trying
to rebuild, they have injuries, they're they're trying to have success,
(48:46):
and you know, luck fortunes just shifting in a way
that they just they just can't get out of their
own way. So look, are are we expecting a Balter
Baltimore victory? Yeah? I would say so. On the road
visiting the fighting fly goes by the way forty Niners
with Trey Lance. Here's the telling story so far. Forty
Niners have a seven nothing leads six minutes ago on
(49:06):
the first half, rich they have seventeen rushing attempts. They've
only thrown five passes. Trey Lance is just three or
five fifty seven yards. They're just not throwing the ball.
They're running the ball effectively. They got eighty eight yards
on the ground. But it seems a little bit early
on that they're taking it easy in terms of because
I mean, that's isn't this is what we were talking about,
(49:28):
you know, with Kyle Shanahan that he wanted to bring
in a quarterback that could do more than the quarterback
he had before. They're not even throwing the ball. They're
running the same exact offense as they ran with Jimmy Garoppolo.
And to your point, they didn't draft Trey Lance to
be Jimmy Garoppolo. They drafted Trey Lance and traded three
first rounders to the Dolphins to get you know who
(49:50):
they predict to be the next Matt Ryan in terms
of Shanahan, or the next Tom Brady, or the next
Peyton Manning, the next Andrew Luck. They're they're trying to
catch lightning in the bottle here, and it appears that
they've only incrementally, if at all, have gotten better at
the quarterback position. It's early. It is literally nearing halftime
of the first game this guy has ever started, So
(50:14):
I'm not going to judge him early. I'm gonna judge
him at mid season, and I'm gonna see how his
effort looks at that point and and see if he's
ready after spending a year on the bench behind Jimmy
grow up. All right. I know a lot of people
are screaming it's pouring rain in Chicago. It is pouring rain,
so ball control. Meanwhile, Justin Fields year two yikes three
of seven, nineteen yards in a pick uh new coach
(50:36):
in Chicago. Obviously, Bears are hoping that Justin Fields. I
was a big Fields guy coming out of Ohio State.
There was a lot to to look at their high
school superstar. There has been nothing but success in his
football career. He struggled as a rookie that made the
coaching change. And again, it's a little hard to judge
what's going on Chicago with all the rain they're having
(50:57):
right now. But obviously they're hoping, because this is their
franchise quarterback to Justin Fields will make a significant move
upwards in your two Yeah. No, and they need him
to if they're if they're going to make the decision
at the end of this season to keep on riding
with Justin Fields are like we've seen in the past.
You know, more and more first round draft picks also
(51:19):
have a shorter leash at quarterback. You know. Just remember
back to what happened with Rosen in the Arizona Cardinals
and Cliff Kingsbury comes in to work with Kyler Murray.
I mean, they'll there are front offices that are unafraid
to pull the trigger on making a change at quarterback
sooner rather than later if you think that they can
shift their futures into a correct What's going on, Ryan,
(51:40):
he's late raising his hands. He's a touchdown somewhere. Yes,
the Eagles just got a one yard run from Miles
Sanders on third and goal. Is he on your team?
Is that someone you have on your team on one
of them? Yes? Yeah, I thought it felt like a
fantasy football uh celebration in the production studio. And then
when you when you do the leap, you know when
your hands are there in the So the Eagles take
(52:01):
the thirteen seven. Later, by the way, real quick before
we jumped to break here, Miami Dolphins driving on the
Patriots again. They lead ten nothing in Miami over the
Patriots inside a minute to go in the first half.
Tyreek Hill had another big reception, which brings him up
to six receptions for seventy seven yards along of twenty
six we just saw there. He's been targeted eight times.
(52:22):
He's also rushed the ball once for six yards. So
clearly acclimated to the Mike McDaniel offense in Miami. Well,
we'll see later on Kansas City without him if that's
gonna affect their offense or right now, he's certainly had
a positive effect on the Dolphins. They're facing a third
and nineteen after a Patriots sack. We're inside thirty seconds
to go on a half and we got a pass complete,
(52:46):
but the clock is running down. All right, We're rolling
along right now. We're coming to the close of the
first half of these nine games around the NFL. For
all the information you need, keep it right here. This
is Fox Sports Red Zone Radio. This is Fox Red
Zone Radio, and we've got the place that you may admits.
(53:10):
Hurts hips as on punishing a four files Settlers touchdown,
his first of the season and the Eagles take the lead.
Now back live to the studios of Fox Sports Radio.
This is Fox Red Zone Radio. That is ninety four
(53:34):
w i P Eagles Radio Network. Eagles all over the
hapless Lions, twenty one seven, six and a half minutes
to go in the first half. There by the way,
Jared Goff, you're ready for this. Three of ten six
yards and one interception. That's a passer rating of zero
point zero zero. That is not the start they were
(53:56):
looking after all their hype from hard knocks me all.
The Browns are rolling right now. On second down and
five percent from the Carolina gives the ball at shot,
blast through, tip ted corner, hard touchdown. He's got two
of them. Caraba Hunt what by Air? What by Land?
And the Browns lead diteen nothing Browns Radio Network, Browns
(54:20):
leading the Panthers fort fourteen nothing in Carolina. A lot
of road teams doing well today. Panthers with Baker Mayfield
no offense at all. Jacoby brissetting company, looking pretty good.
Deshaun Watson, you may have a pretty good team record
if they play like this between now and the time
you return. Meanwhile, though Carolina has got a first and
(54:41):
goal inside the five yard line, Baker Mayfield a little
past touch down, no, just short of the goal line.
To two and a half minutes to go there one
welcome back by the way, this is Fox Sports Red
Zone Radio. We are live from the tire rack dot
Com studios, So Carolina, trying to get on the board
before the half, trailing the Browns by score of fourteen
(55:03):
to nothing. Right, wow, that was a really really great
effort making an adjustment on the reception there, passed from
Baker Mayfield was tipped and uh now the ball set
up at the Browns one yard line, half yard line,
Cleveland leading fourteen nothing. As you mentioned, Kareem Hunt having
a busy day for fantasy owners out there. By the way.
(55:24):
The team I've been saying the entire offseason, there's the
most intriguing team to me going into two is off
to a good start. That would be the Miami Dolphins.
It's halftime and the Dolphins have dominated the Patriots seventeen
nothing Miami to a tongue of is Law thirteen of eighteen,
a hundred and seventy nine yards and a touchdown. And
(55:46):
Tyreek Hills first half as a Dolphins six catches for
seventy seven yards, Jalen Waddle two catches, fifty yards and
a touchdown. Mike McDaniel going against Bill Belichick and the
rookie coach doesn't get much better than that for US
half after the interception, Miami got in the end zone
against New England. No Pat's offense and to a tong
(56:06):
of volo, that passing game is working in Miami. Yeah,
and interesting storyline. The Patriots have been down in South
Beach since Tuesday of this week, preparing for the heat
and the elements, making sure they're acclimated to the humidity
that early September Miami Dolphins home games brings, but did
impact an offense, and so in the first half it
(56:28):
really is so far the premonition from many people who
are following the Patriots preseason is proving true that offensively,
this is where the team's gonna struggle. Really having a
hard time putting any numbers on the board. Let's go
out to Baltimore. D J Mosley drops back into coverage,
Jets rush forward Jackson the throw lop near side looking
(56:50):
for two of tonight ends. One reaches up, makes the
catch touch Tomeravns great tenty five yards strike from Lamar Jackson.
Great catch. That's ninety eight Rock Ravens Radio Network. So
the Ravens have a ten nothing lead right now on
the road against the Jets, who simply have no offense.
They have Joe Flacco at quarterback. All right, give us
(57:12):
another highlight. Takes the snap backs up, lets it fly
and it is intercepted, intercepted longing what the footballs? BlackBerry
and BlackBerry t for the touchdown sis James BlackBerry brag
Prepberry n w i P Eagles Radio Network. As you mentioned,
(57:34):
it's all Eagles seven in Detroit. Jared Gulp, by the way,
now has a passer rating. Uh he's seven or fifteen
for fifty three yards that pick six. That's a twenty
seven point nine passer rating. The only offense they really had.
DeAndre Swift had a fifty yard run earlier in the game. Uh.
We talked about a coach that everyone seems to love.
(57:55):
You gotta start winning some games in Detroit though. Yeah. Yeah,
you have to start winning. And you could love the personality,
could love everything about him. The bottom line business, you
gotta win games. Yeah, And and look, am I saying
it was gonna be easy against the Philadelphia Eagles. No,
But it gets much harder when you get in the
vision with the Detroit Lions, Minnesota Vikings or the brand
new head coach Kevin O'Connell, the Packers, obviously, even the
(58:19):
Chicago Bears, who right now are trailing seven nothing at
home hosting the forty Niners. Look justin Fields, you're two.
There are a lot of positive reports out of training
camp with Fields him getting acclimated to a new offense,
looking much better than he did his rookie season. Meanwhile,
Rich we have the halftime score, Steelers leading the Bengals
(58:39):
seventeen six. Story of the first half here is Joe Burrow.
He has thrown three interceptions, He's eleven of seventeen just
a hundred nine yards. He's been sacked four times in
the first half and throwing three interceptions. So this again
is a storyline going into the season. Are we gonna
look back at the Bengals run to the Super Bowl
(59:01):
year ago saying was that a miracle? How did that
actually happen? Or is it a precursor of things to come?
But at least for a half, right now, Joe Burrow
and this Bengals offense completely out of source. And again
going back to the divisional matchups in the nf C North,
a down year for the North. Ben Roethlisberger obviously wasn't
it wasn't himself trying to recover from an elbow injury
(59:23):
from two years ago and and really led to his
retirement last season. Ravens preseason, their entire offensive backfield was injured,
and then Lamar Jackson gets injured during the season, and
Mayfield was hurt all year for Cleveland. Mayfield was playing
not only through a throwing or excuse me, a non
throwing shoulder injury, but also lower body injuries in Cleveland.
So yeah, you have it right. Uh, this is going
(59:46):
to be a big test for Joe Burrow and the
Cincinnati Bengals team. When you navigate a division like that
where everybody's unlucky except for you, makes it a lot
easier to get to the postseason as a ten win team.
They'll need probably more than ten wins if they're even
gonna sniff this division to take it away this year.
Not to get to halftime right now, Atlanta leading at
(01:00:07):
home against the Saints thirteen seven. As we know a
change of coach in New Orleans. Jamis Winston's first half
rich five of ten for twenty four yards. They have
negative two yards net passing in the first half, and
Michael Thomas has been targeted once and has zero catches. Unbelievable.
(01:00:29):
There is your Saints offense. They've been running the ball
well well, Taysom Hill had a fifty seven yard run.
That's pretty much it. You take that out. They have
no offense in New Orleans. So Sean Payton has gone
so apparently as the Saints offense. But everyone was excited
about the return of Michael Thomas. One target, no catches,
(01:00:50):
Winston negative two yards net passing in the first half. Yeah,
it's uh, it's it's unfortunate for Saints fans how how
quicklee the fall can be. But this is football. You know,
you understand this like it's coach quarterback, you know, Andy Reid,
Patrick Mahomes for years, Tom Brady Belichick. Uh, you know
we're getting to see this to a greater or lesser
(01:01:12):
extent um um with Matt Lafleur and Aaron Rodgers. I'm
not I'm not a hundred percent how much Matt Laflour
has to do with the renaissance that he's had in
recent years. But basically since Laflour has taken over, Roger's
output has been has stepped up mightily. But when when
you're breaking in a new coach and a new quarterback,
and and a an NFL retreat at quarterback, somebody who
(01:01:34):
was signed originally as a backup who's been sort of
foisted into the starting role in Jamis Winston. This is
what it looks like, major growing pains in Nolan's Remember
his debut last year against the Packers when he throw
five touchdown passes. It looked like, Wow, look at Jamis
Winston without Sean Payton. That Saints team had a very
rough first half trail lead Atlanta, by the way, just
(01:01:56):
added a field goal. They're at the half, Atlanta leading
in New Orleans by score of sixteen and seven. All right,
let's find out what's trending right now as Monsey is back,
and Monsey has already prepared our menu for our first
Sunday riches scrambling right now as he's ordering off a
menu where he doesn't recognize a single food item. Who
(01:02:17):
would have thought that I was gonna win Week one
like this? Total victory? Yeah, first half, My my offense
really struggled. Montery. Uh, look, I will say this. I
just placed the order now. I ordered thirty of these
chicken drumsticks from the Vegan restaurant. Yeah, even though what
(01:02:40):
to say, Oh, you guys are gonna love them. We're
gonna love him. You're gonna be like, oh my gosh,
can you bring somewhere of those vegan wings because they're
so good. Guys, guys, sweet chili wings. Now, I'm enjoy
these vegan wings. But guys, next week, next week, Hertman's
in charge of the food next week, and it's gonna
be pizza heaven. Like, we're gonna have stacks of pizzas
(01:03:02):
with everything on him, meat meat, no meat, no faces,
no faces that We'll have your cheese pizza for the
last of us meet meat peppers. Fine, fine, fine, alright, guys.
We got several games in halftime right now. Falcons in
saves halftime. Falcons are up sixteen to seven. Niners are
(01:03:24):
up by a touchdown on the Bears, also halftime. But
unfortunate news for the Niners the running back Elijah Uh
I'm sorry I wrote it down and Elijah Mitchell has
been ruled out of the game with a knee injury.
Official unfortunate for them. We have the Steelers up on
the Bengal seventeen six at halftime as well. The Eagles
(01:03:48):
and the Lions. Eagles are up twenty one to fourteen
two minutes left in the first half. The Dolphins are
up seventeen zero on the Patriots. Halftime in that game,
the Ravens are up ten three. They're about to hit
halftime on the Jets. The Commanders are up fourteen three
on the Jaguars, also about to hit halftime. The Browns
and the Panthers. Panthers are on the scoreboard. They are
still down, though, Browns are up fourteen to seven. They're
(01:04:09):
about to hit halftime as well. The Texans and Colts
aren't halftime. The Texans are up by a touchdown. They're
up ten to three. Interesting thing that happened right now
the Bears. You've been talking about how it's raining in Chicago.
Bears holder Trenton Gill was called for an unsportsmanlike conduct
because he brought a towel out to try and dry
out the area before a field goal. They gave him
(01:04:29):
a penalty, and they pushed him at a field goal
range because he was trying to dry the area. Very
very weird. Bengals wide receiver t Higgins has officially been
ruled out because of a concussion for the rest of
the game. Back to you guys. Hi, Monster, Thank you
very much. We're looking forward to these vegan wings. You're
gonna be coming Monster. The pickup time is eleven forty perfect. Yeah,
(01:04:53):
they're real quick about it. In and out eight minutes. Yeah,
I wondered them two minutes ago, and they are going
to be well. When you're not cooking, usually our pizzas
take like two hours. You don't have to worry about
like cooking off the bacteria when you're cooking. Yeah, you're right,
I don't have to worry about the bacteria. These chicken
wings are made out of egg plant. Now we're gonna
(01:05:19):
have stacks of meat like he won't believe next week.
Welcome back. And this is the Fox Sports Red Zone Radio.
We're live from the ti iraq dot com studios. All right,
so we're getting a halftime on all these games right now.
Mentioned several games. At half one game, we dive and
talked a lot about Colts in the Texans. You know, Rich,
I'm looking at the numbers here for the Colts. Matt
(01:05:40):
Ryan's fourteen and nineteen hundred forty one yards. Jonathan Taylor
as fourteen carries sixty eight yards they haven't gotten in
the end zone yet. Michael Pittman has six catches for
eighty yards. But this was sort of the story of
the last few years, or Matt Ryan, where the numbers
still look good, but suddenly Atlanta could not get into
the end zone. And at least for a half, it
(01:06:00):
seems like we're picking up the same number, Sir Matt
Ryan in the Colts uniform. Well, what's so strange about
this is the Houston Texans are supposed to be awful,
but they keep the fighting, especially in moments where you think,
all right, well, the Colts in Week one will certainly
stomp out the Houston Texans. Late season Chargers visiting Houston, Well,
certainly the Chargers will stomp out the Houston Texans. They
(01:06:22):
show up for big games and they've had over the
past couple of seasons now and this game notwithstanding. I
will see what happens in the second half. But you
know this is uh, this has been a successful opening
half of football for Davis Mills. Well, I mean you
have a veteran coach now, Levy Smith obviously taking over
with the Texans, and uh, he had his team ready,
(01:06:44):
at least offensively in that first half and and through
three preseason games they I believe they were undefeated. I
don't know if that's a harbinger of things to come
at all, you know, because if you look at the
Detroit Lions, uh, they're oh in sixteen season, they were
perfect through the preseason. So I mean that is definitely
not that is definitely not an indicator of things come
(01:07:05):
in the regular season. But at least, like I said,
through the first half, things have looked a lot smoother
for Davis Mills and this Texans offense than they've had
for Matt Ryan and this Colts offense. The Eagles have
the ball right now inside a minute ago, trying to
add to their lead. The Lions got another touchdown, so
it's one four teen. But in fact, let's let's we're
not gonna get many of these over the course of
(01:07:26):
the season, so let's take advantage of a Lions highlight
poured down and one for the Lions from the six.
They give it the swift, let's get the block. It's
five to the ends, touch down Detroit Lions. They went
for it on fourth down and Swift found the house.
And for this offense need that w x y T
(01:07:47):
FM n one the Ticket, Lions Radio Network, the Running
ads Ward game for the Lions. They have a hundred
eighteen yards on the ground. The problem is Jerichov can't
throw the ball straight. He has just fifty three yards
passing and an interception. Keep the lights rolling, Sam, what
do you do here? Jake? I am giving my best
player the football because we need we need a touch
down here Mayfield under center the staff McCaffrey catapults. End
(01:08:11):
of the episode. Welcome back, Christian McCaffrey. Welcome to the season.
Carolt of Panthers Fox Panthers Radio Network much needed. As
the Panthers get the score, Cleveland asketball still up fourteen seven.
We've got inside thirty seconds to go. In the first
(01:08:32):
top of Christian McCaffrey. Three carries for nine yards and
the one score. Uh for Baker Mayfield, it's been a
struggle at just ten of eighteen hundred one yards and
an interception. Jacoby Brissett hasn't done a whole lot either
for Cleveland. He's eight of eighteen seventy five yards a touchdown.
And this is really what we've been talking about all
morning long. It's interesting the passing game is where these
(01:08:54):
teams are struggling. We're seeing some yards on the ground.
I mean, for instance, for Cleveland, Nick Chubb twelve care
seventy nine yards. That's a big half for Nick Chubb,
Kareem Hunt four carries thirty four yards. They have yards
on the ground. But a lot of teams struggling right
now with their passing games. Yeah. And again, you know
a lot of teams breaking in new quarterbacks or new
(01:09:15):
coaches and new coordinators working with their quarterbacks even if
they're veterans this season, and so we're gonna see early
struggles with the offenses especially. But looking at the Carolina Panthers,
this staff blows my mind. Christian McCaffrey has missed twenty
two of his last thirty three games due to due
to injury. Can you imagine if Christian McCaffrey had been
healthier in Carolina over those thirty three games, how different
(01:09:38):
things would look. Look at Jonathan Taylor and the Colts
from a season ago, I mean, was it Carson Wentz. No,
it was Taylor having an m v P like season,
And Christian McCaffrey is capable of having that sort of impact. Uh.
And then you look at the Browns and you say, Okay, offensively,
what do they have this year? Will they have Bell
who is a rookie receiver. They brought in Cooper from
Dallas in trade, so they got a new receive even corps,
(01:10:01):
they just have to trust Jacobe Brisett to protect the football,
to manage games and hopefully get stack up some wins
here while they're waiting for Deshaun Watson to come back.
And so far in Carolina, that's exactly what's happening. They're
they're defending well, they're playing good enough offense, and they
lead by ten at half. Yeah, Brown's adding a field
goal right now, so seventeen seven. Now Brown's leading the Panthers.
(01:10:25):
That game is in Carolina. Eagles, by the way, have
a third and goal right now. Is they're trying to
add to their twenty one to fourteen lead on the
road against a Lions team that just is not looking good.
By the way, the Eagles are my pick have been
my pick to win the NFC East this year. Hurts
has looked really good. I think that's been the big question.
(01:10:47):
Jalen Hurts, by the way, first half eleven of twenty
nine yards passing rich He also had sixties seven yards
rushing in this game and a touchdown and everyone I
talked to about the brand about this Eagles team. By
the way, A J. Brown six catches a hundred and
twenty eight yards as his debut for the Eagles is
off and running. But what's the ceiling on Jalen Hurts?
(01:11:09):
That's what everyone knows it. Question is how good can
Jalen Hurts actually be? Well? Adding a J. Brandon receiving
courts certainly helps. Uh. He's gonna take a lot of
punishment though, rich because he's gonna run the ball a lot.
You know, we talked about these quarterbacks that not only run,
they pass and everything else. He's gonna take some punting.
But at least early on in this first half, things
(01:11:29):
are looking good for Jalen Hurts and the Eagles. Look,
all you have to be in the NFL, and this
is saying a lot in one sentence is a winner.
That's what you need to be. Is Jalen Hurts a
winner well through the first season, his opening campaign, his
quarterback in Philadelphia? The answer is yes. He looks like
he's the type of competitor you need at the position.
Is he the fastest? No? Is he the best thrower. No,
(01:11:51):
does he have the most arm talent? Absolutely not. But
is he a smart quarterback? Is he a thinking quarterback?
Is he someone who understands what the defense is doing
to him? A good leader? Is a good listener? Is
he competitor? The answer to all those questions is yes,
across the board, and so his ceiling is is high.
He's still young, he's still learning, and last season is
(01:12:11):
acclamation to the NFL. At the quarterback position looked a
lot better than some guys who everybody was really high
on coming out of college football. So yeah, I think
it's time to see this really start to take off.
With Nick Sirianni as head coach and offense he brings
to Philadelphia. All right, they settle for a field goal.
So they go into the half right now, and the
(01:12:32):
Eagles leading lines by a score of twenty four to four. Team,
all right, we'll continue on already, we got third quarters
underway as we have these opening nine games for the
NFL on this first full Sunday of NFL Action. For
all the info, unique keep it right here. This is
Fox Sports, Red Zone Radio. Doesn't say better. Got to
(01:13:03):
Mako dot com for an online estimate today Steve Harvey,
Rich Harburger, this is Fox Sports a Red Zone Radio
live from the tire rack dot Com studios, and we
got some games underwaigh. Second half right now, Texans have
added a field goal. So how about the Texans leading
the Colts by a score of thirteen to three ten
(01:13:25):
and a half minutes ago in the third quarter. In
that game, also the Steelers have the ball and are
moving once again, already leading the Bengals by a score
of seventeen to six, which we mentioned the fact that
it's been a rough first half for Joe Burrow through
three interceptions, was sacked four times. Meanwhile, Mr Shubinski has
been efficient. They're not doing a whole lot, but that's
(01:13:47):
sort of the way the Steelers play it. Eight of twelve,
eight yards of touchdown note pics. He's been clean, uh
in that first half. And you know again, I think
many times we've talked about Mike Tomlin and his ticket
to me has already been punched as far as the
Hall of Fame is concerned. I just don't know if
Mike Tomlin is ever really going to get the credit
he deserves. The man has never had a losing season.
(01:14:09):
I mean in this league where you know, an injury
to a quarterback member that one year the Steelers basically
Ben Roethlisberger missed an entire year, And somehow he's always
able to pick up the pieces. You know, they had
a b come and go. They've had all kinds of injuries,
maybe on Bell holding out Bell, and yet somehow. Yeah,
there's been a few five hundred seasons, but no losing seasons,
(01:14:32):
keeping his head above water. Uh. And now with the
you know, without Ben off to a great start with
this so far dominating performance in Cincinnati. Yeah, and as
long as the offensive line can protect Mitchell Robinsky and
uh and pick it if we get to see him
get into the fray at all this season. Um, with
some of the weapons they have on the outside. George Pickens,
(01:14:53):
a lot of people excited about him out in Pittsburgh.
Chase Claypool is talented, needs to grow up a little bit.
I think he has even talked about some of the
maturity things that he's developed over time in the league.
Naji Harris one of the more talented running backs who
came into the league last year. Uh, they can really
go as far as their offensive line will take them,
because again Rubisky. Is he gonna dazzle you know? But
(01:15:15):
can he manage a game? Yeah, Kenny Pickett might be
their franchise quarterback for years to come. They might have
gotten that that right in this year's draft. And the
defense is always good. They have the reigning defensive player
of the year in t J. Watt, who, by the way,
has an interception already today he's factoring. And they've sacked
Joe Burrow four times in three quarters less than three
(01:15:36):
quarters of play. So yeah, if the Steelers can stabilize
at the offensive line position, that this can be a
special year for Pittsburgh. Atlanta. Arthur Smith there gets the
quarterback that he knew also well back in their days
together with the Titans, Marcus Mariotta twelvel nineteen on her
twenty three years, no touchdowns, no picks. Cor Darrel Patterson,
who really had that breakout season last year. Picking up
(01:15:59):
where he left off. He has twelve carries any three
yards and a score. This game, though sixteen seven, they're
leading the Saints, has been more about the saints lack
of offense, certainly lack of a passing game, than it
has been about Atlanta's offense. But what do you think
is is Atlanta looking for a quarterback of the future
or is Marcus Mariotta at this point of his career
(01:16:20):
salvageable with a head coach that obviously knows and appreciates
his game. A lot of people, um were high on
Marcus Mariota when he was with the Las Vegas Raiders,
that there was great leaps and strides of development and uh,
and so I'm I'm very curious to see how he
looks as a starter again, obviously backing up Tannehill for
(01:16:41):
a long time in Tennessee before spending time in Las Vegas. Um.
But look, the NFC South. The story of the NFC
South is what's happening with Tom Brady, what's happening with
the Buccaneers. It sort of feels like, even though this
is a divisional matchup, both these teams are playing for
second place unless the offseason issues. The retiring n retiring
(01:17:03):
the rest bid that he took from training camp has
a strong impact on how the Buccaneers opened the season,
plus injuries on the offensive line for them as well.
But but yeah, until proven otherwise that that division is
all about Tampa Bay Alright, the Patriots are on the
move right now, we're inside six minutes ago in the
third quarters, seventeen not the Miami but we now have
(01:17:25):
a first and goal for the Patriots. Uh so far
again mac Jones is accurate. They're just not getting any
mileage out of what he's doing. They just knocked down
to pass here in Miami. But even with the end
complete there, he's fifteen and nineteen but only a hundred
four one yards. He had an interception in the end zone.
It was a really good defensive plate. Mac JONESI screaming.
(01:17:46):
He thought it was past interference. But they got to
get in the end zone here. I mean, at some
point you got to get back in this game. Miami
offensively is looked real good. They don't have a running game,
but to a ton of violoa is fifteen eighty five
yards and a touchdown and Tyreek Hill already has seven
catches for seventy six yards. So New England now is
looking at a third and goal from the six yard line,
(01:18:09):
just trying to figure out a way of getting into
this end zone. Yeah, they need to score points on
this drive, whether they settle for three or they find
a way in for six. They just absolutely got to
get on the board right now, trailing seventeen nothing on
the road in Miami, and yeah, look, Mac Jones dealing
with a lot second year quarterback Josh McDaniels, who's arguably
one of the best assistant coaches in the NFL for
(01:18:31):
ages and ages, now taking over as head coach in
Las Vegas. He's got to get on the same page
with Matt Patrician. It was a shaky preseason from every
single outlet you read. Uh, we'll see how it goes.
Here is Mac Jones is going for a touchdown reception
and his receiver rolls in. Who got that? Montgomery? There
you go. Montgomery rolls into the front corner of the
(01:18:54):
end zone on third and goal, and so yeah, six
points on the board for the Patriots, who still trail
by in Miami. Still haven't had a missed extra point today,
still waiting for that. So far, it's been a perfect
day as far as extra points of concerned. The forty
niners have added a field goals, so they've increased their
lead over the Bears to tend nothing. Bears literally have
(01:19:14):
no offense. It has been absolutely pouring rain in Chicago
throughout this entire game. Uh, let's see here, what else
do we have the Colts. Matt Ryan just fumbled, so
the Colts have stalled again. Texans get the ball back.
Texans leading the Colts by a score of thirteen to three.
(01:19:37):
I heard there was did Nelson get a huge contract
extension by the Colts. I heard that he got some
kind of huge yes. Yeah, yeah, it was a huge contract.
I didn't see this. I'm actually happy for him. One
of my favorite offensive linemen of recent history. I mean,
he is the best, no doubt in the NFL. But yeah,
he got a big extension. The Colts agreed to terms
(01:20:00):
on a four year, eighty million dollar deal, a contract
extension that is well earned. That Colt's offensive line has
been great. They just have been a revolving Doric quarterback.
You know. The expectation was Andrew luck was going to
be the guy, and after a sudden retirement, it led
to Brissett. It led to what we saw last year
where Carson wentz. It's led to them having to trade
(01:20:22):
capital again. Matt Ryan so far, through close to three
quarters of action, Matt Ryan not looking all that great
against the Houston Texans defense. Absolutely, Texans again leading thirteen three,
Matt Ryan fumbles, so the Texans had the ball once again.
All right, we are heading toward the fourth quarters of
the first games on this first full NFL Sunday. For everything,
(01:20:43):
keep it right here on Fox Sports Red Zone Radio.

(01:21:05):
to the right. He loses his balance and he rolls
into the end zone. Touchdown, Patriots. That's five the Sports
Hub and Patriots Radio network. So Patriots finally get on
the board. Dolphins have the ball, still leading this game
by a score of seventeen to seven a minute ago
in the third quarter in Miami. We're broadcasting live from

it's been quite an uneventful Sunday. Here, first full Sunday
of the NFL season, we got plenty of surprises. After
(01:21:50):
a slow start, some of the offenses are beginning to
generate a little more production here in the second half.
The Falcons now have a lead over the Saints. Bengals,
by the way, getting back in their game rich against
the Steelers, they have scored. In fact, let's hear Cincinnati
getting in the end zone. Burrow catches the ball drops
(01:22:10):
back from the nine throws. It is caught by Tyler Boyd,
touchdown Bengals as he curled toward the forward right pylon
and Burrow through a perfect strike through a narrow window
to Tyler Boyd. Burrow, ready back at the seven yard line,
catches the shotgun snap pump fakes throws into the end
(01:22:30):
zone pot for the two point conversion by Mike Thomas
in there for Tee Higgins who was out with a concussion,
and Thomas catches the two point conversion pass to make
it a three point game. All right, So that's Bengals
Radio network. It was seventeen Sixtealers at the half and
is now seventeen fourteen after that touchdown and two point conversion.
(01:22:52):
So Joe Burrow three interceptions in the first half overall No.
fIF two yards, and now he has that touchdown past
Joe Mixing, by the way, pretty good half nineteen carries
seventy yards and Jamaar Chase picking up bore he left
off as a rookie last year. Five catches for eighty
two yards. So right now, the Bengals trying to get
(01:23:13):
back in their game. Meanwhile, the Falcons are pulling away
red zoned for Atlanta first and goal at the three
from under center. Mariota's gonna keep it in snake for
the touchdown. How about your Marcus Mariota. There you go
the game, Falcons Radio Network. Mariota scoring the touchdown. There
he's also fourteen five yards and the Falcons are leading
(01:23:37):
the Saints by score of twenty three to ten. The Saints.
Here we are with five and a half minutes to
go in the third quarter. They still have just twenty
net yards passing in this game. That's the New Orleans Saints. Yeah,
it's uh, it's looking pretty desperate offensively for a lot
of teams around the league this morning. I will say this, though,
A nice surprise is San Francisco Go who really dominated
(01:24:01):
the first half of play against the Chicago Bears. The
Bears finally answered and Justin Fields found Pettis on a
broken play where he was ranging out towards his non
throwing side the top of the screen to his left
and was able to fire it all the way across
Field found an open receiver. These are the plays, and
these are the reasons why they drafted him in the
(01:24:22):
first round because he is such a good improviser. There
is that aspect of his game with unpredictability, and it
creates a higher ceiling for a guy with the talents
that Justin Fields brings to the game. And how about
the Bears on the board stunt picked up up front,
Eric Armstead being shoved out of the way, circling out
of it, pivoting to set up a throw wide open
(01:24:42):
near side pass. It's caught. There's Pettis to the twenty
to to the ted to the end of Wow, Justin
Fields to a wide open Pettis. W BBM News Radio
seven eight a m and one of five point nine
Bears Radio network. And that's what Jalen, that's what Justin
(01:25:03):
Fields can do for you. I mean, that was scramble
left row across the field, get the open receiver, get
in the end. So and so the Bears are right
back in that. Meanwhile, the Eagles have scored again rich
They are now leading the Lions one to fourteen. Jalen
Hurts has a two hundred eleven yards passing this game.
He's run for seventy five yards and a score. So
Jalen Hurts and the Eagles looking very impressive in their
(01:25:26):
opening game against the Lions, team that could be heading
for a long season. Dolphins, by the way, had to
settle for a field goal, so they increase their lead
over the Patriots and hit the end of the third
quarter there Miami leading to wing them by a score
of twenty seven. Also, the Ravens over the Jets. We
just had a touchdown there in that game, Ravens. Uh,
(01:25:47):
let just check this out. That was a touchdown pass there.
It is for duvena a right there. So seventeen yard
touchdown from Lamar Jackson, his second tachdown passed to DuVernay
in this game. And the Ravens now leading the Jets
by a score of seventeen to three. It's not gonna
be easy for the Ravens early in this UH in
(01:26:07):
the first a month of their season. The first five
games they're gonna face off against three playoff teams. Um.
But they got the Jets first, nice little warm up
here on the road for the Ravens, and then Lamar
Jackson I think is going to be a problem for
every defense he faces because if you are vying for
a bigger contract, the extension than the team who you've
(01:26:29):
played for since your draft, um are are comfortable giving you. Well,
how do you prove them wrong? You go out there
and you get the fan base on your side. So
it's possible conceivable. Through the first five games, he's gonna
be four and one against three postseason teams from last year,
and he may force the hand of the front office.
(01:26:49):
Jacksonville Jaguars had their first touchdown of the season, James
Robinson on the receiving end Trevor Lawrence three are a touchdown.
They went for a two point conversion, so they were
down four team nine and they failed on the two
point conversion. So still we haven't missed an extra point
kicking attempt today. But the Washington Commanders lead that game
(01:27:10):
by a score of fourteen to nine over Jacksonville UH.
In fact, let's hear that highlight. Second out and goal
from the three yard line. No game on the play.
Six offensive linemen in the game, two tight ends as
well under centrist Trevor Robinson. The running back play faith.
Trevor rolls right, players in the end zones, cut for
the touchdown. Trevor Lawrence to James Robinson for the score.
(01:27:36):
All right, that's w j x l A M ten
ten and F ninety two point five Jaguars Radio Network. Meanwhile,
the Eagles are rolling it up on First Town game,
Will pushing, shoving second effort, walks in. He walks in.
He was hit at the line of scriblocks and just
scraped slightly to his left and walked into the end zone.
(01:27:57):
Big block by Sea Mollow and my Lata ninety four
w i P Eagles Radio Network. Eagles lead the Lions
right now ten minutes ago on the third quarterback score
at thirty one to fourteen. Uh. Meanwhile, the Cleveland Browns
rich have added a field goal, so they've increased their
lead over the Panthers to twenty to seven. Not much
(01:28:20):
to speak about about the two quarterbacks in this game.
Jacobi percent is just ten of eighty six yards and
a score. Meanwhile, Baker mayfield ten of nineteen hundred one
yards and an interception. The difference here is Cleveland is
out rushed Carolina a hundred and seventy four to eleven.
One seventy four to eleven. Carolina has just eleven yards rushing.
(01:28:43):
Christian McCaffrey three carries nine yards in the score. Meanwhile,
Nick Chubb has a hundred and ten yards rushing on
sixteen carries, and Kareem Hunt is also averaging more than
six yards and carry. When you got a two headed
monster at running back and they're both averaging over six
yards and carry, uh, that's that's enough to carry an offense.
Oh yeah, there's no doubt about it. And that's exactly
(01:29:04):
what Kevin Stefanski, head coach of this Cleveland Browns team,
wants to do. Until DeShawn Watson gets back, Jacoby Brissette
is going to be. His role is just gonna be, hey,
keep the wheels on call the players, don't screw up,
don't cost us any games. Do what you can to
get the ball to our playmakers. And there's plenty around
this offense. Like you mentioned two running backs who are
(01:29:24):
highly touted, both of them could be Pro Bowls every
year that they're healthy. Amari Cooper, you got Bell on
the outside. You have a defense who's loaded at every
single conceivable position. The Browns. The Browns very easily could
be in the Super Bowl conversation. Now it just comes
down to if Jacoby Bursett can navigate the the the
the horrors of the a f C North, because this
(01:29:47):
is a very loaded up division outside the a f
C West, I would argue that the f C North
is the most talented division in football. Alright, the Bengals
are getting the ball back. It is seventeen fourteen Steelers.
Steelers have dominated this game, but the Bengals trying to
get back. They had a touchdown two point aversion to
get within three points. Steelers just punted or coming to
(01:30:09):
the end of the third quarter. In that game, Cincinnati
will take over deep in their own territory. But this
is where again Joe Burrow, who obviously blew everybody away
with what he accomplished a year ago uh first full
year as a starting quarterback, memory got hurt during his
rookie season leading his team to the Super Bowl. But
(01:30:29):
this is this is the magic of a guy like
Joe Burrow, where you have a game where you you
played terrible in the first half, you throw three interceptions,
he gets sacked four times, but you find a way
to win. And that's the sign of a great quarterback,
never getting down to yourself. Joe Burrow is one of
those guys you can just tell nothing's gonna face this guy.
He has a certain demeanor where all right, bad things
(01:30:49):
are gonna happen, but that's part of the game. Keeps
his head in the game. And now trying to lead
the Bengals to come back in this game against the Steelers.
Absolutely unflappable. He's that type of talent. Question about it.
Let's head out to New York. Jackson takes the snap,
steps up, fires touchdown Devin Dune his second of the day,
(01:31:11):
and the Ravens extend their lead. DOT ninety eight Rock
Ravens Radio Network. We mentioned that touchdown a little bit earlier.
So Lamar Jackson now by the way, twelve nine, just
a hundred fifteen yards, but he has two touchdown passes.
Duvernet has both of them. No interception is It's game
not much of a running game, though. Rich Lamar Jackson
has nineteen yards on the ground. The rest of the
(01:31:33):
team has fifteen thirty four yards rushing. I mean, that's
that's what the Ravens do. They run the ball thirty
four yards rushing in this game, halfway through the third
court against the Jets. But this is what great offensive
coordinators do. They adjust the If you're looking at this game,
what you're seeing is the Jets are selling out to
stop the run. They're saying, if you're gonna beat us,
you're gonna beat us through the air defensively. And that's
(01:31:55):
exactly what the Ravens had to do, or have had
to do throughout the early goings of this game, is
beat them in the passing game. And look, is it great? No,
not not by any stretch of the imagination. But it
isn't enough. Yeah. Yeah, Like you said, Lamar Jackson's connecting
on about half his throws today. Uh, And he's thrown
two strikes to du Rene for scores. And when you're
(01:32:16):
on the road against a team like the Jets, it's
such a wild card. You just want to survive and
win and and and improve in your practice week following
the game, a second Davis Mills to O J. Howard
touchdown passes given the Texans a twenty to three lead
over the Indianapolis Colts. We've seen this for over a
(01:32:38):
year now, ladies and gentlemen's. Davis Mills can spin it.
This dude is a baller. I don't care what you
thought of them coming out of what it was as
Stanford as a fifth rounder or whatever. I don't care
what you thought of the Houston Texans last year, who
were sort of left for dead. If you've been paying attention,
Brandon Cooks had over a thousand yards receiving because Davis
(01:32:59):
Mills finds the talent, and they brought in O. J.
Howard for a reason because he's talented pass catcher. And
that's exactly what's happening early on for the Texans who
had no chance. If you talk to any of the
prognosticators against the Colts today, they're beating him by seventeen. Yeah,
Davis Mills seventeen at seventy yards, two touchdown snow picks.
His passer rating is double that of Matt Ryan in
(01:33:23):
this game. All Right, we got lots coming up heading
to the fourth quarter, nine games going on in the NFL.
We got more games on tap. Keep it right here.
This is Fox Sports Red Zone Radio. This is Fox
Red Zone Radio, and we've got the plays that you
(01:33:43):
may have missed. Jackson off the play, baked drift to
the right steps up growing team. He's look at the
patement at the ten patement hasn't touch bad homes were
shad patement fifty five yards and Ravens are pulling O.
Now back live to the studios of Fox Sports Radio.
(01:34:06):
This is Fox Red Zone Radio. Well, it's ninety eight
Rock Ravens Radio Network blowing out the Jets now twenty
four to three. Lamar Jackson four five yards, three touchdowns,
no picks. Show me the money, That's what he's saying,
show me the money. As the Ravens have dominated the
(01:34:30):
Jets on this Sunday once again, we are live from
the entire rack dot Com studios and we are enjoying
something we've never done here on Fox Sports Red Zone Radio.
We are enjoying a full vegan feast. Imagine imagine having
(01:34:52):
a chicken wing that's not chicken, and you're like, wow,
how did they get a bone in there? It's not
a bone, it's a stick yep. We have fries with
cheese and bacon that's not cheese or bacon. Um, I
just I just think back, like you know, eight years
ago when I laid down the sword and I said,
(01:35:12):
you know what that said, I'm gonna call it a career.
Six years is enough in the NFL. I wonder what
I'm gonna be doing about ten years and then I
fast forward to this moment and I'm eating fake chicken wings,
watching football, sitting next to you people. Yes, how is
this all came? How? How is this happened? How has
this happened? But Mancy has already had an impact on
(01:35:34):
our sundays here now and moving forward, there's no doubt
about that. All right, well, Moncy, thank you very much.
Everything is absolutely delicious. Look at Sam, I mean he's
he like you haven't eaten. I mean, I just got
to do this my job first and then out. I'm enjoying.
I know you are, and you all how about those
fries with the fake cheese bacon? Solid? Very solid. Jaguars
(01:35:56):
have added a field goal, so they have narrowed the
lead for the Commanders to fourteen to twelve. Member Carson
Wentz got off to that hot start, and the Commander's
offense has disappeared. And now we got a minute to
go in the third quarter, and the Jags are down too. Meanwhile,
the Patriots still trying to get back in this game
against the Dolphins. Dolphins leading the past by a score
(01:36:20):
of twenty to seven inside ten minutes ago in the
fourth quarter. Pats have the ball right now with a
fourth down at midfield. And it's been a struggle for
that Patriots offense throughout the game today. Uh and how
about the Bears now leading the forty Niners by a
score of thirteen to ten. And by the way, we
(01:36:40):
finally had our first missed extra point of the day,
Santos first missed extra point of the day. Took a
long time, but there it is. But the Bears still
have a thirteen ten lead over the forty Niners. Give
me some highlights here, Sam Golf would swift to his left,
works out of the gun. I'm gonna Ross st. Brown
and most of the left off facts off looks off
(01:37:01):
throws talk inside of one story for the ends and
getting into the touchdown. Detroit Lions Ham and Ross Saint Brown.
He had the battle flat last yard and he made
it happen alright. So the Lions now trailing the Eagles,
by a score of thirty one twenty one against The
good news for the Lions is they're not giving in.
(01:37:22):
I mean, the Eagles have dominated this game throughout. Still
four minutes ago on the third quarter and the Lions
are within tam But you got a coach there that
certainly gives you the sense of the seam is gonna fight, right.
I mean, we saw it all in the hard Knocks.
I thought it was an excellent season of hard knocks,
by the way. Uh and they're hanging in there right now.
Rich again, still downten, plenty of time to go in
this game. It was so funny. We went from talking
(01:37:44):
about the Bears game where they took the lead at
home in Chicago over the thirteen to ten they're equanimious. St.
Brown catches that touchdown pass, and then we play the
highlight of the Detroit Lions game where Alma Ross St.
Brown the st. Brown brothers catches is the touchdown from
Jared Goff, who's absolutely dealing. Today. You got the Lions
(01:38:04):
in Philadelphia Eagles with a combined fifty two points. It's
not even the conclusion of the third quarter. I love
the NFL because it's so unbelievably unpredictable. Like if you
would have told me early slated games, pick one, which
one's gonna have the most points through three quarters? Philadelphia
Eagles Detroit Lions probably would be close to the bottom
(01:38:24):
of the list, all right. One thing about the forty
Niners right now. So they're trailing this game to the Bears,
and again forty Niners dominated early. We got inside thirteen
minutes to go on the fourth quarter thirteen ten Bears
Trey Lance eight eight one yards, not terrible, no interceptions.
But here's a telling sign here, rich Devo Samuel. He's
got eight carries for fifty two yards and a touchdown,
(01:38:47):
but as a receiver, he's been targeted four times, one catch,
six yards. Now, you got to get the ball to
Deebo Samuel, who could have made a good argument a
year ago that he and not Cooper Cup was the
offensive player of the year. But Deebo Samuel is he's
just gonna be a running back now, is gonna be
out of the passing game. If your tray Lance, if
(01:39:08):
you're Kyle Shanahan, you gotta get the ball down the
field to Deebo Samuel, And so far they have not
been able to do it again. Pouring rain in Chicago
has him in the easiest of circumstances. But I know,
moving forward, even after this game, that's got to be
a part of your offense. Well. Yeah, And and the
beautiful thing about Deebo Samuel is he doesn't have to
be limited to just a receiving threat. Obviously, he's a
(01:39:31):
great rusher too, and he's been having success. And with
Elijah Mitchell down for the count for the game, potentially
Deebo Samuel is going to have an expanded role in
that way. Look, you know, the forecast is the forecast.
You cannot use weather as an excuse when you even
if you're going on the road and playing in Chicago,
it can rain in San Francisco. You just have to
(01:39:52):
find a way to get prepared for these games. And
so far, I would say in the first half, the
Niners did look like the more prepared team. But here
in the second half, this Chicago offense that we heard
about in the preseason, justin fields improvements that we heard
about in the preseason, it's starting to take effect. And
that's exactly if you're a Bears fan what you want
to see out of the second year quarterback all Right.
(01:40:14):
Falcons have a field goal. They increase their lead to
twenty to ten over the Saints. Atlanta in control there
to go in the fourth quarter. Steelers at a much
needed field goal. They lead the Bengals twenty fourteen, eleven
mints to go in the fourth quarter. There and the
Colts desperately trying to get back in this game against
the Texans. They're down twenty to three. They have a
(01:40:36):
third and goal at the Houston four yard line. Yeah,
it's right here on the screen, and Matt Ryan out
of the shotgun, is under pressure and just trying to
find somebody and throws it in complete in the end zone.
So it brings up fourth and goal. Indianapolis most likely
going to settle for the field goal. I mean, personally,
plenty of time left here. I will say this though,
(01:40:59):
Frank Right is one of those coaches. He'll gamble on
fourth down. He will. He's an aggressive play caller, so
I'm fair curious to see what he ends up deciding today.
I take the field goal and may get a to
score game, but that means you've got pressure on your defense,
and the Texans and Davis Mills have been able to
move the ball. Let's hear the Bears taking the lead.
I formation under center fields takes and fakes with time, Lovestro,
(01:41:22):
Uffy is safe, crowd to the end zone. Touchdown, touchdown Bears.
He feathered it in their beautifully Ecklambi has crapped it
in the end zone just to the right of the
g in Chicago and a touchdown Bears for the l
w BBM News Radio seven eight a m. And one
of five point nine Bears Radio network. Wow. So a
(01:41:46):
little bit of a disaster there. It's only gonna cost
them five yards. But Indianapolis, aligning for the extra point,
did not have their field goal unit. Their field goal
unit on the field. They did not score. By the way,
it's fourth down, so be a repeat of fourth down
and they'll be attempting blanket ship will a longer field
goal here for the fourth and goal try. And I believe,
(01:42:10):
if I'm not mistaken, he's gonna miss this field goal
attempt if I am right here, because it's the stat
tracker ahead of the screen. I believe. So let's take
a look right now, fourth and goal. No, he peered
it alright, So okay, so it is now thirteen two No, right,
(01:42:31):
in the Houston Texans Indianapolis Colts game after the blanket
ship field goals successful try, but again down here the
low red goal line. You gotta get it in, especially
when you're trailing by seventeen on the road. They get
this within a two touchdown game with the Houston Texans,
but only ten forty four left on the clock. There's
(01:42:52):
a lot of things going on right now, a lot
of scoring going out. We're coming down the stretch of
these nine games. Let's find out what's twenty right now.
Is monc in their glory with all this vegan over
the week one week one? Yeah, and everyone's enjoying it.
That's the best. By the way, we did make it
clear to Monsey. Any food that's left over, she can happily.
(01:43:17):
But we're gonna we're gonna finish it. I'm here until
like seven today, guys, so I'll finish it here. Well,
I got it, I am ready. Well, the Ravens have
definitely put uh something. They've taken some Michael's secret juice
or something. But they just fumbled. New York just just
fumbled and the Ravens just got the ball back. So
(01:43:37):
they're up to three with fourteen minutes left in the
fourth quarter. We've got the Saints and the Falcons. There
was a report that Jamis Winston was in the blue
tent and that Andy Dalton grabbed the helmet. So I
don't know what's going to happen. I'll keep you guys posted,
but apparently Jamis Winston was in the blue tent. These
(01:43:57):
Saints are losing to the Falcons twenty six to sixteen
with about eleven minutes left to go in regulation. The
Browns and the Panthers still going at it. Browns are
up twenty to thirteen. Baker Mayfield twelve of twenty three
for a hundred and sixteen yards, one interception so far
in the game. The Steelers in the Bengals still going
at Steelers up twenty to fourteen with about and a
(01:44:17):
half minutes left in regulation. Joe Burrow, who's on one
of my fantasy leagues. I'm just excited he's not in
negative points anymore. He is nineteen of twenty six hundred
and ninety five yards, one touchdown, three interceptions in the game.
The forty niners were on top, not anymore. The Bears
are up thirteen to ten, about twelve and a half
minutes left to go in the fourth quarter. The Eagles
are up on the lines thirty eight to twenty one.
(01:44:41):
Jalen hurt sixteen of twenty eight for two hundred and
twenty three yards. There's about two minutes left to go
in the third quarter of that game. The Patriots and
Dolphins are going at it. Dolphins are up twenty to
seven on the Patriots seven minutes to go in regulation,
and the Jaguars commanders very close game. Commanders are up
by two, fourteen to twelve. Fourteen minutes left to go
(01:45:01):
in that game. The Texans are beating the Colts twenty
to six, about ten minutes to go in regulation of
that game. Back to you guys, all right, Monsey, very good.
By the way, the Saints uh touchdown past to Michael Thomas.
How about that he only has two catches for seventy yards,
but he got the touchdown pass for Winston. Winston goes down,
they have a two point conversion. That was good. Joe
(01:45:23):
Burrow picked off again. Joe Barrow picked off again for
the third time today. That's four. He had three in
the first half. Oh my goodness. That is for your
absolutely four interceptions for Joe Burrow today. Uh Saints, by
the way, with that two point conversion, now one score game,
as their trailing Atlanta by a score of eighteen. That
(01:45:46):
was a misread there by Joe Burrow. So yeah, he
has thrown four interceptions today in his two debut coming
off that Super Bowl run. So yeah, not good. Not good. Meanwhile,
the Eagles continue to roll. Busted Scott to his right
hand off busted Scott Fullard touchdown, Busted Scott too strong,
(01:46:10):
n w i P the Eagles radio network. So it's
now thirty eight to twenty one Eagles over the Lions.
Lions have no defense even when they come back to score.
By the way, Jalen Hurts continues to have a huge
game two hundred thirty three yards passing, eighties six yards
rushing and a score on the ground. So he's gonna
it done now. Of all the games going on, because
(01:46:32):
we're looking ahead obviously to which games are gonna have
a big finish, there are plenty of close games right now.
One of them is this Commander's Jaguars game, rich fourteen
to twelve. Commanders have led throughout, but the Jags have
been inching their way back and they have the ball
right now, thirteen forty to go on the fourth quarter,
trailing by just two. Uh. And of course we've been
(01:46:53):
talking about what Doug Peterson make a huge impact on
Trevor Lawrence and the Jags team after the Irvy My
Mayer fiasco of a year ago that just drove them
into the turf. UM. They had a controversial pick with
the number one overall pick, taking the one guy on
that Georgia defense that didn't make All American UM. So
we'll see how this plays out for the Jags, but
(01:47:15):
this would be quite a start if they could come
back and win this game against the Commanders. Yeah, we're
looking at right now a call on the field that's
being discussed, and Ron Rivera of the Commanders have dropped
his challenge flag. Trevor Lawrence. I think he was originally
flagged for intentional grounding and then they took a closer
(01:47:36):
look at it and decided against it. And for whatever reason,
Rivera has dropped his challenge flags. So we'll get back
to action there in a second. But you're absolutely right,
two points to make up with the Jags and uh
and we're we're here in the fourth quarter with twelve
fifty left on the clock. Trevor Lawrence looked talented as
they come coming out of Clemson. Just unbelievably strong, good leader,
(01:47:58):
great live arm. He make all the throws at the
NFL level, certainly a true NFL arm. But it was
a disaster. It was a terrible opening salvo to his
career with Urban Myers, who was criminally unprepared for a
professional coaching job. He just he just had no idea
what he was doing and drove the franchise into the ground. However,
(01:48:19):
I think with Doug Peterson, who's a quarterback whisper of
his own right, uh, stabilizing things, I think it could
be a much better, better and much different looking Jaguars team.
By the way, Trayvon Walker and his debut in the NFL,
got his first sack today. So he did get his
sack today in his first game. Meanwhile, the Panthers are
right back in their game, third and five from the seven,
(01:48:40):
Baker in the shotgun, but former number one pick takes
the snap. Mayfield steps up. He's got a lane touchstaff Baker. Mayfield,
who fires the ball, gets the back wall head out,
Panthers Radio Networks, you're so excited almost knocked the microphone
(01:49:01):
off of its seat there trying to get to the
vegan food here. Uh, twenty to fourteen. Browns had the
ball and they still have the lead with twelve minutes
to go in this one. Keep the highlights coming staff
to Lynchton prows to the end zone and that it's
gonna be touchdown looch side. We welcome back from the thirteam,
(01:49:21):
Mike Thomas. This first touchdowns it's twenty nineteen, a free order,
but it was a biggie rolling to his right throws
and that's gonna be complete. Of the two point conversion
Cristal Lavel the right side of the corner of the
end zones and a well well played play. All right.
That's w LW Saints Radio Network. The touchdown and two
(01:49:43):
point conversion. They make it a one score game. Foulcons
leading eighteen ten and a half minutes to go in
the fourth quarter. All right, So take a look at
some of the scores around the NFL right now, Steelers
still leading the Bengals twenty to fourteen. The Bengals, I
believe just punted, so now Bengals are getting the ball back.
(01:50:06):
Six minutes ago in the fourth quarter, there end of
the third quarter, Eagles leading the lines by a score
of thirty eight twenty one. Patriots taken over right now,
Rich They're down twenty seven. By the way, in this
game to a tongue of Iola, twenty one twenty nine,
two forty three yards a touchdown. Note pis Tyreek Hill
and his Dolphins debut eight catches ninety four yards. So
(01:50:31):
that was the big question coming in. Would he have
an impact on that offense? Would he have an impact
on two a tongue of yola, at least so far,
the answer is yes and yes, yeah, you know, and
you're watching the Patriots finally put together a drive. They
started from the shadow of their own goal posts on
the four yard line and mac Jones on a first
down shot, missed a wide open Nelson Aghilar down the
(01:50:52):
right sideline, and just connected with Kendrick Bourne on a
long shot on third down down the left sidelines. So
it's in conser eistency. That's the problem with mac Jones
and this Patriots offense. It's been discussed this offseason, in
the preseason, certainly a lot of news being made about
who's gonna be the coordinator. But you can see it
they're gonna be some some serious growing pains as this
(01:51:13):
Patriots offense figures out who they're going to be this season,
and mac Jones enters year two with a new voice
in the headset. By the way, Nelson Algalore just caught
a crossing route over the middle, jarred loose by the
Miami Dolphins, so all for not a lot of work
to get down on the Dolphins side of the field.
But the Dolphins come up with the fumble recovery and
(01:51:34):
they have the football with four remaining on the clock,
and it's twenty two six ball game? Is that the
score right now? Twenty six? Right now, I'll tell you
what I'm looking at this Texans Colts game. Here, Rich
Coles just scored. They've made this a seven point game.
Jonathan Taylor gets into the end zone. He's got twenty
(01:51:54):
two carries under seven yards and a touchdown. So the
Colts were down twenty to three. It is now wenty
to thirteen. As the Texans will get the ball back
seven forty two to go. So we mentioned earlier about
you know, going for that field goal making a two
possession game. Well, the Colts come right back and score,
so they're back in this game right now, uh, down
by his touchdown, twenty to thirteen Texans seven forty two
(01:52:18):
to go there, Bears have just gotten into the end zone.
So they have increased the score to nineteen to ten
over the forty niners. And you're not gonna believe this.
Sandos missed another extra point. It's gonna stay nineteen. So
we've had to missed extra points and they were both Santos.
(01:52:38):
And again it's been raining, so I don't know if
that's been affecting his kick. He's he cannot get. So
two missed extra points by Santos, so instead of twenty
one to ten, it's nineteen to ten Bears, seven minutes
to go in the fourth quarter in that game, quick correction,
Miami Dolphins are leading by twenty seven right now, and
(01:53:00):
it is the Dolphins who recovered that fumble. And now
to a tongue of Viola on the field again with
his offense for maybe the final time, if they could
possess the football here in the four minute drill um,
Patriots desperate to get the football back make something happening
defensively here. So uh look, I we we knew this
was going to be what It was when the Tom
(01:53:22):
Brady era finished up in New England that there was
gonna be some sort of regression, and there was. Well.
Last year they made the playoffs, though I understand, but look,
they took a huge step back with Cam Newton uh
in mac Jones's rookie year, they probably overperformed. I would
argue that if you look at their their roster, they
probably over overperformed. There. There's no there's no other way
(01:53:42):
to slice this. The Bills are the most talented team
in that division by a long shot. You just saw
the complete dismantling of the reigning Super Bowl champions on
Thursday Night football in l A. By the way, in
l A, that was a road game, and they absolutely
destroyed the rams Um And then you have the Dolphin
and so are much improved, although to just almost got
(01:54:03):
sacked on a second and nine passing attempt. By the way,
the Jaguars have taken the lead over the Commanders with
a field goal. It is now fifteen fourteen Jags, twelve
minutes ago. In the fourth chord. Let me ask you
this about Bob Craft and Bill Belichick, because Belichick is
running the entire show. He's the GM two years ago,
they spent more in free agency than any year in
(01:54:24):
Patriots history. If things really go south for the Pats,
I mean they go six and eleven this year, another
losing season. I mean, is there ever a scenario where
Bob Kraft says, you know what, Bill, thanks for everything,
but we need to make a change. Well, yeah, of course.
I I you never say never, and you you shy
away from speaking ultimatums. Right. I won't say that it's
(01:54:46):
impossible for Bill Belichick to get fired, because there's nothing's impossible.
We've seen things that have confounded us just this offseason, uh,
in the NFL. So I'm not gonna say it's impossible,
but I will say this mo likely Bill Belichick will
decide when he wants to step down. All Right, we're
coming down the stretch in some of these games right now,
keep it right here. This is Fox Sports Red Zone Radio.
(01:55:13):
This is Fox Red Zone Radio, and we've got the
place that you may admits snapped the fields handing off
Herbert blockers up front, three direction into the end zone
for a touchdown. Touchdown, Bears call Herbert and they're stirred
up here at Soldier. Now back live to the studios
(01:55:35):
of Fox Sports Radio. This is Fox Red Zone Radio.
All right, So I was WBBM News Radio seven eight
a m. And one oh five point nine Bears Radio Network.
We have a lot of things happening right now. Bengals
down fourteen inside two minutes ago, have a fourth and
(01:55:56):
goal at the Pittsburgh to yard line. So the Steelers
have led throughout this game. Joe burrows from four interceptions
in this game, but they have a fourth and goal
at the Pittsburgh two yard line, trying to take the
lead in that game. Meanwhile, the Panthers touchdown there within
two of the Browns. Again, Brown's leading for most of
(01:56:17):
this game. It's now twenty three one. Brown's leading the
Panthers six minutes to go. Meanwhile, we're just going back
and forth with touchdowns. In the Jags Commanders game, Jacks
scored to take a twenty two to fourteen lead. Now
the Commanders have come back. They've scored so penning the
extra point. Jack's over the Commanders and I'm like out
(01:56:40):
of breath. Oh. In that Saints game, a second touchdown
pass from Jamis Winston to Michael Thomas brought the Saints
within two. They went for a two point conversion failed,
so Atlanta taking over. They had the lead twenty six
to twenty four, three and a half minutes to go
in the fourth quarter. Failed touchdown to ten on fourth
(01:57:00):
and goal for the Cincinnati Bengals, well defended by the
Pittsburgh Steelers, so it will be Steelers ball from their
own inside the five yard line going out when action
returns there. And in that Washington Commander's game, they're down
in the low red zone two. I missed the flag,
but there's a flag on the play. The cameras are
(01:57:21):
all over Lloyd on the defense for thee. What is
happening there is the Commanders are going for a two
point version to try to tell you up that game.
And I believe this is the second flag at the
goal line. Let's see what it's gonna be. Yeah, this
is going again. Now they're calling it off. Okay, so
(01:57:44):
times nine a half minutes to go in that game.
We got some really potentially wild finishes. One game that's
not gonna have a wild finish is this Miami New
England game. Miami just running out the clock right now.
About a minute ago, Miami with the ball and a
twenty two seven lead, certain the hell of a debut
for Mike McDaniel as the head coach of the Dolphins
(01:58:04):
to post a victory against Bill Belichick and the Patriots. Uh,
that's the first down. That is, unless there's a flag.
There's a flag on the play. But it looks like
they're gonna be able to take a knee and run
this game out. But you know, for him to uh,
even at home, and again even even in the hyday
of the Patriots, going to Miami was never easy for them.
Mac Jones by the way, twenty and thirteen yards a
(01:58:27):
touchdown in a pick. But offensively, they just don't have
a lot of playmakers. They just don't have that kind
of talent, either at wide receiver or in the running
back position. Meanwhile, Tyreek Hill definitely made a difference for
the Dolphins today eight catches and ninety four yards. Yeah. Look,
Tyreek Hill is the real deal. We knew that when
he played with Patrick Mahomes. The big question was is
(01:58:49):
to a canta get the football to Tyreek Hill and
have as much of an effect um for Tyreek as
Mahomes was able to have for him. And the answer
is yes, at least through the this game and and again,
do you need to throw homework, run ball every play
to tyr Kill for him to have an effective day?
Obviously not, obviously not. But do you need to feed him?
(01:59:10):
Do you need to highlight him in in your passing offense?
And that was the goal today on the outset and
that's what they accomplished today in this victory over the Patriots.
All right, we're at the two minute warning. Remember the
Colts are down twenty to three to the Texans. It's
twenty to thirteen, and the Colts have a first intent
at the Houston fifteen yard line. So guys, if we
(01:59:30):
could change that monitor from the manout England Miami game
to the Colts Texans game. So they're at the two
minute warning right now, time out in that game. But
Matt Ryan trying to engineer a big comeback. By the way,
Jonathan Taylor a hundred and fifty six yards rushing to
start off the season so far, twenty six Cary's and
(01:59:50):
a touchdown. He has set the bar. Meanwhile, Caroline at
getting in the end zone, Mayfield under center back to
throw byes tik ticked out field. This one open Touchdow.
That's the Fox Panthers Radio network and we got a
touchdown in this Indianapolis Colts Houston Texans game. Michael Pittman Jr.
(02:00:14):
Catches a short route from Matt Ryan, makes one miss
and goes the rest of the way into the end zone.
Seven play a d R drive just took two thirty
five off the clock in the fourth quarter and with
the ensuing extra point, Colts looking to tie here. Yeah,
remember it was twenty to three going into the fourth quarter,
but the extra point is good and we got a
(02:00:36):
tie game. All uh was still one fifty four to
go in the fourth quarter in that game. So in
other words, just to remind everyone is rely from the
ti iraq dot com studios. We got some exciting finishes
coming up. That means you need to keep it where
you can find out all the action. This is Fox
Sports Red Zone Radio. Fox Sports Radio has the best
(02:00:58):
sports talk line up in the nation. Catch all of
our shows at Fox Sports Radio dot com and within
the I Heart Radio app. Search f s R to
listen live fall the near hash Ryan out of the
Gum first and ten of the fifteen Ryan RPO throws
up Phil from Michael Pittman Jr. Circus out of a
tackle dot across the goal touch down, touchdown, Chel Pittman Jr.
(02:01:22):
And the Polks are an extra point away from tying
the game with a minute fifty four ago. All right,
that's the Colts Radio Network. Meanwhile, the Bengals are trying
to take the lead late against the Steelers. Right now,
once agoon, we are broadcasting live from the tire irack
dot com studios. Tirack dot com. We'll help you get there,
(02:01:42):
and I'm at selection, fast, free shipping, free road hazard protection,
over ten thousand recommended installers, tire rack dot com, the
way tire buying should be. So the Bengals minus five
in turnover margin in this game against the Steelers. We
got nine seconds left. The Banks are out of timeouts
and they are trailing this game by a score of
(02:02:04):
twenty to fourteen. So the Bengals here rich are just
trying to figure out a way to really pull a
miracle because the Steelers have dominated most of this game.
Joe Burrows thrown four interceptions in this game, and yet
they still find themselves with a chance to pull this
game out late. And now we have unnecessary roughness on
(02:02:26):
Pittsburgh Steelers safety Minca Fitzpatrick guarding Tyler Boyd in the
middle of the end zone in the most recent passing
attempt from Joe Burrow, and it brings up first and
goal for the Cincinnati Bengals at the Steelers six yard line.
So Joe Burrow in the Cincinnati Bengals offense a fresh
set of downs to punch it in to try to
(02:02:47):
tie this ball game and if they hit an extra
point to win it. Oh knocked away. Great defense right there.
It was a touch now, but immediately knocked out of
the hands of the Bengal receiver. Look at this, the
ball is right there, and just as he gets the
ball in, boom and again it was Minca Fitzpatrick, I believe,
(02:03:08):
who broke up the play there, this time getting his
shoulder on the football. So Joe Burrow just completely beside
himself because he knew that was ball game right there,
at very least to tie it against the Steelers. This
could be a final play There's four seconds left here
for the Bengals to essentially get one last play off
and try to get into the end zone. And it
(02:03:29):
looks like a delay of game. I think it was
a delay of game. I think it was a delay game.
I can't believe that. Meanwhile, what's going on here with
the Panthers and the Browns. Cleveland still leading this game
twenty three to twenty one. Ryan, what happened there? Because
I see Panthers jumping up and down. They got the
ball to Christian McCaffrey, got a good run out of it.
(02:03:50):
They got into field goal range for the Panthers, And
I believe there's probably a horse caller at the end
of this play. Alright, minute seven ago in the fourth
coard in that game, Cleveland trying to hang on with
a two point lead. All right, So we get the
second and goal four seconds left for Cincinnati, trailing the
Steelers by a score of twenty to four. Team ball
still at the six yard line. They got trips left
(02:04:14):
right now, Let's see if Joe Burrow can figure it out.
And it looks like we've got touched down Jamaar Chase
in the front corner of the end zone. He was
covered by Witherspoon on just an out route and Jamaar
Chase plays hero twenty twenty in Cincinnati. They finally came
back and caught the Pittsburgh Steelers. And if they hit
(02:04:36):
this extra point they find a way to survive that
is on zeros on the clock. So this extra point
will decide whether the Bengals win or we head into overtime,
a game in which the Bengals again minus could turn
over margin. Tie ball game. Houston Tecans Indianapolis Colts. Nineteen
(02:04:57):
seconds left on the clock. Colts have a fourth and
one and they're not gonna go for it on their
own forty five yard line and fourth and one, Matt
Ryan calls the time out there, trying to call the
Texans off side, but still that offense was on the field. Geez, right,
So the Saints just hit a field goal to take
a left. They were down twenty six to ten and
(02:05:20):
left for dead in that game in Atlanta. So the
Saints take the lead. Uh, time out right now for
the Steelers to trying to freeze the kicker on this
extra point. Again, there's no time left, although I think
they may have reset the clock. I'm getting one second
on the board, but I see no clock time left. Uh,
so we're waiting on this point. You could have a
(02:05:40):
time you can have a time less extra point. Yeah,
before you know, I'm just saying, I see I see
one person pointing one second left on the clock on
the game. The broadcast says no time, so we're winning
on this extra point. To see if the Bengals are
gonna pull out a big win UH at home as
the Steelers again, the Steelers dominating throughout. They were up
(02:06:03):
seventeen to six early in this game. Steelers were looking good,
but Joe Burrow, despite throwing four interceptions in this game,
found a way to get Jamaar Chase. And by the way,
you mentioned that offensive alignment they had on that last play,
they had trips left. Guess who was on the right,
Jamar Chase one on one coverage and that's not a
good matchup for any team, and he found a way
(02:06:25):
to get into barely the front of the end zone.
So McPherson was such a big story last year for
the Bengals. Mr clutch rookie kicker last year for Cincinnaig
led to a lot of big wins. He's got a
big extra point attempt coming right now. Meanwhile, Indianapolis and
Houston looks like we're gonna go to overtime in this game.
Eleven seconds left. In fact, Houston's gonna take a nie,
(02:06:46):
So we're gonna go overtime. Houston and Indie. The kick
is up and the kick is no good. It goes
to overtime. It's blocked. Cincinnati at the extra point they makeup.
Fitzpatrick got his hand on it. They got a figure
tip on the extra point. Unbelievable, Mick Fierson gets blocked.
(02:07:11):
It's just unbelievable. And it is going to overtime. In
since what a turn of events a blocked extra point
that would have won the game for the Bengals. So
that game goes to overtime. We got two games go
over it overtime right now, all right, Carolina looking to
win this one minute seventeen left in the game. There
will be time though. Cleveland gets the ball back after
(02:07:33):
this fourth and twelve kicker on the field. All right.
So now we've got the Panthers looking for a field
goal with UH one sixteen to go to try to
take the lead in this game against the Browns. This
another game where the Browns dominates route. Carolina trying to
come back. One seventeen to go in the fourth quarter,
and they're gonna have a thirty five yard field goal
(02:07:55):
attempt thirty four yards. The kick is good and Carolina
has taken a twenty four to twenty three lead over
the Browns, led by Baker Mayfield, who, by the way,
he's got some pretty good numbers fifteen and twenty thirty
eight yards a touchdown in a pick against his former team,
the brown guys. I know the Eagles were laying down
(02:08:17):
a strong showing against the Lions here, but the Lions
just scored a touchdown. It is now thirty thirty five
with the Eagles with the lead with four minutes left
to play, So the Lions are actually once again in
striking distance of this game. Yeah, DJ Shark Jr. With
the touchdown reception from Jared Goff within striking distance to
win this football game, only trailing by three, so next
(02:08:39):
possession they could tie it or potentially take the win
if they're able to hold off the Eagles on this
ensuing drive. Cincinnati Pittsburgh Steelers going to overtime end of
regulation twenty twenty on the blocked field goal to our
actual point attempt McPherson's off McPherson's foot minca fits pas
(02:09:00):
you're able to get a fingertip on it, and then uh,
as we mentioned, Carolina just took a one point lead
at home hosting Baker's old team, the Cleveland Browns. So
every one of these games and and not to mention
all the while out in Atlanta, it's a six ball
game with five seconds left on the clock. All right. Well,
(02:09:21):
there's a Lions game that all of a sudden got
interesting out of nowhere. Eagles thirty thirty five. We still
got four minutes to go in the fourth quarter in
that game. By the way, DeAndre Swift in this game
carries for a hundred forty four yards and a touchdown
to two touchdowns and a pick prevent defense on the
field for the Saints. Final play from scrimmage for the
(02:09:42):
Atlanta Falcons, who are going for an underneath route here,
and that is ball game. I can't believe that's I mean,
the Falcons led this game twenty six to ten, and
the Saints come back to win it twenty seven to
twenty six. Jameis Winston went three or thirty four, remember
those negative yards in the first half. He ends up
(02:10:03):
with two hundred sixty nine yards passing, two touchdowns and
no picks. So the Staint's offense that didn't exist in
the first half came back in the second half not
so fast. You got a flag on the play in Atlanta,
and so it looks like it might have been against
the Saints. It looks like it might have been against
the Saints. So it looks like there's a fresh set
(02:10:24):
of downs with no time left on the clock for
the Falcons. Hold on. We have a touchdown by the
Commanders right now, late in their game against the Jaguars,
and it looks like the Commanders have retaken the lead.
And they have touchdown with a minute forty six to go,
touchdown pass from Carson Wins to Dotson and twenty four yards,
(02:10:50):
So the Commanders have retaken the lead, two penning the
extra points still a minute forty six. I'm exhausted, and
if we're gonna have to keep this pace up, are
you kidding me? We're just we're it's unbelievable. What's happening?
Week one, first full Sunday in the NFL. All right,
let's keep it right here, because for just for a
moment here, I want to wait on this extra point.
(02:11:11):
We could take a breath. We've got two games going
into overtime already, so we're keep our eyes on those
games right now. Jacoby Brissette in the hurry up offense.
Cleveland Browns have zero time outs. They're looking to get
about thirty more yards to get within field goal range,
and Jacoby Brissette delivers the strike over the middle of
the field, closing field Carolina territory the forty eight yard line.
(02:11:32):
Thirty seven thirty six clock is running. Carolina does have
one time out remaining at the forty nine yard line.
They spiked the ball Wow twenty twenty three ball game.
Cleveland trailing by one in Carolina and Jacoby Brissette with
twenty nine seconds left on the clock zero time outs,
only needs about nine ten more yards yet within York
(02:11:53):
Cade York's field goal range. So this is a huge
finish to this. The Baker Bowl is what I'm calling
it down in panther Land all right. By the way,
Bears ended up beating the forty Niners nineteen to ten.
Tray Lance debut was not good. Uh, the forty Niners
didn't get any offense going. It was pouring rain and
Soldier field today final score. Bears beat the forty Niners
(02:12:15):
by a score of nineteen to ten. Also, the Ravens
about to wrap up their game against the Jets. In fact,
that game is now over. Ravens went on the road
to nine and Jacoby bur said, dealing on this final
drive for the Browns. There now within field, no timeouts,
talking about the second one. They're gonna clock this one
as well, Jacobe behind center and yeah, they spike it
(02:12:37):
stops the clock. Akay, so they're a third and one.
That was a little bit short of the first down there.
All right, we'll just keep it right here. We got
thirteen seconds left, Cleveland trailing by a point, Carolina leading
this game. Again, the Browns have no timeout, so you
gotta be careful now, rich Uh, any ball over the
middle of the field, the idea of completing the past
(02:12:57):
running up spike in the ball maybe out of question.
By the way, we got a flag on the play.
This could be This could be an illegal formation by
the Browns if Jacoby Brissette didn't allow his teammates to
completely get it set in their stances. We'll see what
it's what the head referee has here. Meanwhile, as you
mentioned that Falcon Saints game was not over yet, they
(02:13:20):
have one last play. The Falcons down twenty seven, twenty six.
It has gone final. That is gone Final. The Falcons
tried a sixty three yard field goal and I couldn't
tell if it was blocked or the snap was botched,
but it didn't work. Did not work. Come back to
win that game twenty seven to twenty six. No penalty
(02:13:40):
on the play against either side, Browns or Panthers. Kade
York attempting, that's a fifty nine yard field goal. He
I mean, this is going to be a moonshot, a
sixty yard or official switched it was at sixty yard
and now they switched to eight fifty eight yard attempt
for Cleveland to win this game against Carolina. And the
(02:14:03):
kick has any timeouts, no timeouts to kick is up.
It's got leg, it's got, My gosh, it's good Cleveland.
Wait the game eight yard field, my yardh my god,
Baker Mayfield sideline shot of him in complete disbelief. A
baffling loss for Carolina after coming all the way back
(02:14:27):
in the second half. Cleveland wins eight seconds to go
in the game. That was a bomb a mile. That
was an absolute blast off the foot of Kade York,
who apparently had a long of fifty behind the I
mean that was good from plus That was a bomb
(02:14:49):
to give Cleveland the league. All right, how about Jakobe Purcette.
I've been saying it all off season long, nobody likes
this guy when they when they started gave season eleven
and oh with him. And Deshaun Watson comes in through
his four pigs in the first half of his first
game back. I tell you what, Let's take a breath.
Let's take a breath. All right, you can hear why
we're here. We are here to bring you all the excitement,
(02:15:11):
all the information, everything you need to know every Sunday
in the NFL. This is Fox Sports Red Zone Radio.
Stop the insanity. This is Fox Red Zone Radio, and
we've got the place that you may have missed. Kane,
(02:15:35):
you aren't trying to win the game for the Bronx.
Thirteen seconds regading, he lines it up, well hard kiss.
We just sneel on the ground at the killing over
the ball, step back. He's into it. Light drive end
branding to kick us up and it is he That's God.
Can you go from at your time? With that seconds?
(02:15:59):
Look thank all about oh game. That's why they drafted
Kan York in the fourth round. We said get him
into the fourty yard line and he hits it. This
is unbelievable. Chim Kan York from fifty eight yards out.
I'm light shut. That had plenty on it, and it
is good of a Bronxer eight seconds away from finally
(02:16:22):
winning on Opening Day. Now back live to the studios
of Fox Sports Radio. This is Fox Red Zone Radio,
all right, So that was Brown's radio network. Meanwhile, Mick Pherson,
the prize rookie a year ago, the talk of the
kicking community for the Cincinnati Bengals, had a twenty nine
(02:16:45):
yard field goal attempt to beat the Pittsburgh Steelers and
he yact, I mean he hooked it badly, and that
game remains tied with three thirty three to go in overtime.
It was a legal one, so he had an extra
point blocked that would have won the game at the
end of regulation and now in overtime. McPherson, who was
(02:17:09):
brilliant last year for the Bengals game winning kicks last season,
two of which were in the postseason, he had ice
water in his veins. I knew it. He should have
never gone out and watched that halftime show at the
Super Bowl. It's still distracting him. I mean, fifty cent.
You know, it's just this is what happens when you're
not with your team in the locker room and intermission. Wow,
(02:17:31):
by the way, once again we are alive from the
ti iraq dot com studios. That is unbelievable. I mean,
this guy was so money for the Bengals, but he
gets his extra point block at the end of regulation
that would have won the game for the Bengals. And
now a chip shot twenty nine yard field goal and
he just hooked it, I mean badly. All right, So
we got the two overtime games. Just updates on the
(02:17:52):
final scores. Saints pet the Falcons, six Eagles over the Lions,
thirty five Ravens over the j It's to nine. Commanders
held on beat the Jacks two. You heard the uh
York field goal for the Browns to beat the Panthers.
Four Bears over the forty Niners nineteen to ten, and
the Dolphins dominated the Patriots. Have to games. Right now,
(02:18:17):
we're at the two minute mark in overtime with the
Colts and the Texas. We got a fourth and nine
blanket ship the forty two yard attempt by Rodrigo blanket
ship right now, next score wins in this game, Houston
had the ball first, they were stopped. So Indie, if
they can make here, they take the victory on the road.
In the Vision against the Houston Texans game, by the way,
(02:18:40):
the Texans were leading twenty to three going into the
fourth quarter. The Colts came back to tie this game
senate overtime and as you mentioned, a forty two yard
field goal attempt to win it right now, two minutes
to go in the overtime. And nothing is safe today.
I mean, we're all over the board, folks, all over
the board today. So let's see how this field goal
(02:19:01):
at depth? It is up and he absolutely knuckle right.
Oh my goodness. So he was good two for two
on the day yarder and he hit a forty plus
field goal earlier in the proceedings. But that was way right.
It started as soon as it left his foot, it
looked good and just went right, just went sanely right.
(02:19:22):
So are we gonna have two tie games to start
the season? Is that possible? It is possible. I hope
it's unlikely, and I hope it doesn't happen. But we're
inside two minutes to go in this game. So that
was just horrific. Meanwhile, we have an overturned So the
Pittsburgh Steelers in the ensuing possessition after Havan McPherson miss,
(02:19:45):
had a great attempt for reception down the far sideline.
I want to say it was George Pickens leapt up
and try to bring down the one hand and grab
catch and his foot was out of bounds or he
didn't have possession of the football. Either way, it incomplete.
Might have been blinking one of their receivers. Either way,
it's incomplete. So Trabiskie out there for the first intent play. Alright,
(02:20:09):
So first in ten, right now to go. The Steelers
are at their own forty five yard line again, next
score obviously will win this game. They're running a reverse
play that could get some big yards here for the
Steelers first down, they're into Bengals territory. This has just
been a bizarre game. I mean, when you look at
the breakdown of the stats in this game between the
(02:20:31):
Steelers and the Bengals, rich how about this first downs
Bengals have thirty one, the Steelers have eleven total yards
Bengals for Steelers to sixteen. Time of possession Bengals forty
two minutes Steelers twenty four. The difference five turnovers for
the Bengals, none for the Steelers. So the fact the
(02:20:52):
Bengals have dominated the statuet four interceptions by Burrow, fumble,
five turnovers. And yet here's this is Mike Tomlin football, right.
I mean, if somehow the Steelers steal this game, that's
such Mike Tomlin not pretty nose style points, but he
understands one thing. It's all about the w's. I mean,
(02:21:14):
look at you don't have to win pretty. You just
have to win, and you have to win a lot
to keep your job in the NFL. And that's exactly
what Mike Tomlin has made a career of. So yeah,
we are faced with a minute twenty six left on
the clock in the Houston Texans Indianapolis Colts game, Davis
Mills on the field with his offense facing a second
and seven, and we turn our attention now to the
(02:21:35):
Steelers again, knotted up at twenty Mitchell Trabinsky dealing towards
the sideline and converts to Chase Claypool. They are now
within field goal range. Next score wins in this game. Wow.
And by the way, staying inbound. So I think right now,
they're trying to work clock a little bit here, although
obviously next score will win this game. But inside three
(02:21:56):
minutes ago, it's a third and four for the Steelers
right now, again, despite the fact that they have been
dominated in terms of first downs and total yards by
the Bengals. Five turnovers by Cincinnati plus a blocked extra
point a missed short field goal. Well, I tell you what,
if the Bengals lose this game, they're gonna look at
each other like, what happened? Man? How do we possibly
(02:22:18):
lose this game? Rabinsky now looking and it's a short
pass that's gonna be well short of a first down.
So they're now facing fourth and four, Rich, and they're
not in field goal range unless you're really going for
a bomb here. But to seven Ago, I don't know
what do you call here. It's fourth and four. You're
looking at a fifty four yard field goal. At least,
(02:22:43):
first of all, I wouldn't trust it, um, because remember,
if you miss it, they get the ball, they're gonna
go for it. Of course, Chris boss Will has been
around a long time and he's had some great success
in the NFL. But they're gonna attempt this looks like
it's gonna be a fifty four yard field goal attempt.
Now again, if he misses, Cincinnati will take over in
(02:23:04):
good field position with two and a halfnutes to go
in overtime. Yeah, I gotta look and see what their
their team stats on the day are on third down
conversions terrible three or fourteen and fourth down conversions. They
haven't attempted one yet, So yeah, I guess it makes
sense if your offense really struggled to convert and gotta
have it moments earlier in the game, you want to
put your field goal kicker on the field. Basically, by
(02:23:26):
the way, is only eighteen a thirty one, just a
hundred forty nine yards passing. They only have two hundred
eleven yards in total offense. It hasn't been an offensive day.
It's been more offensive alright, So it's gonna be officially
a fifty five yard field goal attempt for Chris Bossible
to win the game. It's up, it's got enough. It
hits the right right, hit the upright ho Cincinnati gets
(02:23:48):
the next opportunity to score to hit the right flush.
All right, let's find out what's twenty right now, Let's
find out what's trending? Munsey is ready anything to talk about?
Oh my gosh, yeah, no, you know, it's it's really
slow day over here. I don't know. Oh my goodness.
You know, Chris Boswell has actually hit eight game winning
(02:24:10):
field goals. So I think that's why that face was
like that. He couldn't believe it. He could not believe
that he just missed that field goal. Now not great
news for Steelers. Uh. T J. Watt went to the
locker room, and the reports are saying that it looked
like his words were I tore my peck as he
walked to the locker room. No, wow, t J. Watt
(02:24:32):
thinks he tore his peck. Yes, everyone's saying that it
looks like that's what he said as he was walking
off the field. Running back Najie Harris left at the
very end of regulation. He was tackled for a loss.
It appeared to be a lower body injury, maybe his ankle,
maybe his knee. So the Steelers are not with their
(02:24:53):
starting people right now. Sorry. I was wanting to see
if the Bankers were about to do something. No, just
escape he did. He did just get a first down
exactly know they're actually marketing. I thought he got it
with that slide. I thought he got it with the slide. Yeah.
The Colts and the Texans are also in overtime. That's
also about to end. Their forty seconds left. They're trying
(02:25:14):
to get into field goal range. We'll see if they
get it with this their third and one, and it
doesn't look like they got That was a bad call
and running right now. I don't know if Houston is
playing for a time, but that play looked like they were. Yeah,
it looked like they weren't making the right choice on that.
And the clock is running, by the way, it is
still running. Yes, you're so right about that. The games
that have already ended, let's go with those. The Saints
(02:25:36):
beat the Falcons twenty seven to twenty six. Jamis Winston
was twenty three or thirty four for passing for two
hundred and sixty nine yards and two touchdowns. The Bears
beat the forty niners in that terrible weather. At the end,
Justin Fields is seen sliding on the field after they
beat them nineteen to ten. The Eagles beat the Lines
thirty eight to thirty five. A close one there. The
(02:25:57):
Dolphins beat the Patriots twenty to seven two. Lawa was
twenty three or thirty three for two d and seventy
yards and a touchdown the Ravens. They dominated the Jets
twenty four to nine. Lamar Jackson, like you said earlier today,
show me the money is what he is saying. Seventeen
of thirty two thirteen yards, three touchdowns, one interception. The
Commanders beat the Jaguars to twenty two, and the Browns,
(02:26:19):
in a tough one, beat the Panthers twenty six to
twenty four. Back to you, guys, we're still in overtime,
yeah we are, mind see all right? So right now
in this Colts Texans game, the Texans have a fourth
and three near midfield. They were letting the clock run down.
It's a twenty game. I mean, what's Lovey Smith doing here.
(02:26:40):
You gotta play for the win, right, I mean, you're
not playing for a tie. But they have a fourth
and three and we're at midfield. We'll see what they're
gonna do there. Meanwhile, the Bengals have the ball. They're
inside the forty five yard line of the Steelers after
missing a twenty nine yard field goal by McPherson earlier.
They're a long way away from field goal age. Here
there's one to go, and they put the ball. That's embarrassing.
(02:27:05):
They punted the ball to Texans, apparently playing for the tie,
plays for a tie. I don't even know what I
just watched. I mean, that is one of the worst decisions.
I mean, game one, Game one, we're not talking about.
You know, you're in the playoffs. Like if you tie
the ball game like Las Vegas races in midfield, even
(02:27:26):
if even if they stop you, they have a long
way to go, it sends the message to your whole
locker room, we don't trust you idiots, and we're gonna
we're gonna take the Did you see Davis Mills? They
ran the ball third down and it got stuffed and
he's staring at the sideline while the clock was running down,
and they punt. What did we just watch? They punt
(02:27:50):
it with twenty five seconds to go in overtime, and
now the Colts take over at their own six yard
line and they got twenty seconds left, so that game
is looking like a tie. Meanwhile, we got the Bengals
and the Steelers. It's first intent for the Bengals right now,
and a quick pass by Burrow is inside the forty
(02:28:11):
yard line of the Steelers. So at least somebody's going
for a win here. I mean, seriously, I mean, Lovey Smith,
you gotta be kidding me with that. I'm so it
is the last time you saw an NFL coach absolutely
purposely play for a tie. I you don't do this.
It's game one of the season. You just don't do it.
Even if you throw I mean you, Davis Mills, I
(02:28:34):
mean fourth and it was fourth and three. It wasn't
like fourth and twenty. You don't trust even if he
throws an incomplete pass on fourth down, they they still
have to get another thirty yards the other way. I
know we live in a recency bias, you know, time
and and everything's hyperbolic. But I'm not kidding when I
(02:28:55):
say this, that may have been the worst call I've
ever seen. That. That's just I mean, you're it was fourth,
It's game one. What messages the sending to your team
for the rest of the season. I understand it's the
Texans they don't have like a really bright season, uh forecast,
but young quarterback that you want to do something you
can't do that You've just completely defended your roster we're
(02:29:19):
playing for the tie? Are you kidding me? What is
I mean? Who's on the other southern field? Is this
Joe Montana? All right? Well, this is the last play
for the Colts right now. The quick guy. They're gonna
do the old lateral. They gotta be careful with lateral plays. Though,
Oh my goodness, is this no? No, is it? He's
going down? All right? That game ends in a tie. Alright,
(02:29:39):
So the one game that left over, by the way,
other games I've already begun, by the way, just update
too quickly. The Titans have scored quickly against the Giants.
They lead that game by a score of seven nothing.
How about the Vikings jumping all over the Packers early
seven nothing. Kirk Cousins seven of eight seventy three yards
on that opening drive, throws a touchdown past the Jefferson
(02:30:00):
Chiefs up early seven nothing against the Cardinals, and the
Chargers have a three nothing lead over the Raiders. All
these other games are underway, but we have one game remaining.
That's the Bengals right now, as they have a third
and four as they try to avoid a second tie
in the day, one thirty four to go in overtime.
There at the Pittsburgh thirty eight yard line, Joe Burrow
(02:30:22):
gets sacked and fumbles, it's recovered by Cincinnati and they're
running the ball and that's gonna be well sure of
the first down, they're gonna lose five yards in that place.
That at their thirty nine yard line. Fourth down, So
we're looking at a fifty six yard field goal for McPherson,
who already missed the twenty nine yard field goal by
the way to Monty Bellanos point. Uh. It looks like
(02:30:44):
t J. Watt was in fact saying that he had
torn his pack when he left the game earlier today.
So the stillers still finding ways to get pressure on Burrow.
What do you do right when you go for a
fifty six yard field goal to win it? Giving Pittsburgh
plenty of time with the blocks running down, they are
running clock. Okay, Evan McPherson just had a blocked field
(02:31:05):
goal at the end of regulation, and you just missed
a twenty seven a block extra point. I mean, look,
they may punt this ball too. I'm not kidding. You
may see two teams play for a tie in division too.
Sorry you're calling time out. I think the league is
calling right now, seeing what's up with you guys? Is
everyone going for a tie the first week? So there's
(02:31:27):
forty six seconds to go in overtime. Bengals and Steelers
are tied. They have marked the ball at midfield, so
it's not even a field goal at tamp obviously at
this point. So what do you do fourth down for
the Bengals? Do you go for it? It's fourth and
sixteen four do you punt the ball? You have two choices,
(02:31:48):
field goal at tamp obviously out at midfield because they
called him down right there before the fumble, so they
were They actually said it was a sack. If you're
facing fourth and seven, you go for it. If you're
facing fourth and sixteen, okay, I can understand punting there,
but fourth and three going back to the Texans finish
(02:32:09):
fourth and three with seconds left on the clock, uh
from midfield punting the football to the Indianapolis Colts to
tie the ball game? What in the gray Beard Lovey
Smith hell did we just watch? I don't know. He
was talking the official during a time out, saying if
I do this, Am I the dumbest coach in America?
And they said yes, and he did it. Anyway, all right,
(02:32:32):
So here's where we are. So there was no fumble
on the play. They ruled Burrow was down with the
sack at midfield. So it's fourth and six team for
the Bengals. The clock has restarted. It is at one
oh eight and counting. The Bengals are punting back, which
means that Pittsburgh will get the ball with under a
minute to go the punt return, the ball is bouncing
(02:32:54):
and it goes in the end so man, so the
Steelers will take over with fifty six second to play. Boy,
they have their own twenty five yard line. The Steelers
did such a good job their returner and I'm not
sure who was deep for for the Steelers, but did
such a good job faking that the ball was gonna
land somewhere short of the goal line. The Bengals on
(02:33:15):
an opportunity to down that inside the ten and whiffed
on it. So Steelers have pretty good field position when
play resumes. There and overtime again, what did we just
watch with Lovey Smith? I still can't get over in
three not fourth and sixteen and three? I get it.
Zach Taylor made the right decision with fourth sixth and
(02:33:37):
that was a no brainer there. Uh, let's see what
the Steelers do right now again, fifty six seconds to
go in the overtime. Is it possible we're gonna have
two ties Week one of the NFL season? That would
be just when is the last time we had two
ties in the same week? I can't ever remember. We
barely have two ties in this season, much less two
(02:33:57):
in the same week. Yeah, it's it's rare. I mean
it's happening back to back weeks. I mean that's happened recently,
but it's two in the same week. Somebody's got to
look that up. It's been a while. But anyway, Pittsburgh
right now has got a lot of ground to cover,
taking over at their own twenty five yard line. They
have been resetting this clock over and over and over
(02:34:17):
again in this Steelers Bengals game confusion. Everywhere. They had
the clock in the stadium saying forty six seconds left.
The clock we're looking at says fifty six seconds left.
All right, Finally the Steers are gonna get a snap.
They're starting at their own twenty yard line here, and
they got to get again. Boss Will certainly care capable
of a long field goal. But they need a big play,
(02:34:39):
and that's almost intercepted, which would have been a disaster. Yeah,
that's the one thing you do not want to do
right now, Vior Pittsburgh. It's thrown intercept. Yeah, that was
thrown to the defense. Unfortunately for the Bengals, it was dropped.
Uh So, now Trabinsky and the Pittsburgh Steeler's offense faces
second and ten. Do we have kid off already? Yeah?
(02:35:02):
I gave you the scores. We got four scores at
all of that. Tightens over the Giants seven nothing's over
the Cardinals seven nothing, and the Chargers over the Readers three.
Now they've got scores in all four of those. I'm
locked away in my fortress of solitude watching the Steelers
get a reception near the sideline. But the clock is
running after they were and they were short of the
(02:35:23):
first down, so that didn't do him any favors. Clocks
running thirty eight, thirty seven, They got a mile to
go trying to get into field goal position. That looked
like an offside on Cincinnati. Uh Trabisky is gonna throw
the ball down the field and it's all just hold
On has got a big leg here. Twenty five seconds
(02:35:45):
to go. There was a flag on the play, but
it appeared to be offside against the Bengals, and of
course they will wave off that penalty if indeed it was,
and it was, so the off side has gone. So
forty five yard line of the Bengals. That's where the
Steelers are right now, first down, twenty five seconds to go, Pittsburgh.
They have no timeouts right now. Yeah, no, that it
(02:36:07):
was actually fortunate that the Bengals jumped off side because
it stops the reception, so no time asks for the Steelers.
So they got to be careful if they play the
ball in the field right now. We'll just keep it
right here. Again, we're watching the Steelers trying to pull
out a game in which they've been just gobbled up
by the Bengals in turns of first doance in total yards.
Short pass over the middle is broken up. That's not
(02:36:29):
a good play. What kind of call is that? Well,
the Bengals, there was no time they sent more than
the Pittsburgh Steelers could block in that blitz package. So
now thread here a probably a good ten yards at least.
Obviously you can't. You have to get rid of that
football otherwise you get sacked and you knock yourself out
of field goal range. By the way, had a chance
(02:36:49):
to win it and one off the goal post, so
he had plenty of leg as he always does. Boswell
has eight game winning field goals inside two minutes in
the course of his career. But right now the Steelers
are gonna need at least ten yards to give him
a reasonable shot at a game when he field goal
twenty one seconds ball snap pass over the middle is
complete and it's there you go. There's those ten yards
(02:37:11):
they got it from. Now they've got to spike the ball,
which they're gonna try to do right now, and they
have a music on the receiving end of that short
pass over the middle. But it was enough to get
them the first down and within field goal range. So
Boswell will come on for with you. It'll be a
fifty two or fifty three yard field goal attempt. There's
eight seconds to go in overtime. Yeah, so we will see.
(02:37:34):
I mean, look, Evan McPherson. If there's one thing you'll
all remember from the Cincinnati Bengals run to the Super
Bowl was the fact that he was so ice cold
clutch at the end of games. He made three game
winning kicks at the end of regulation towards the end
of the season, by the way, for the Bengals, and
then in the postseason had two games kicks for the
(02:37:56):
Cincinnati Bengal. Steeler is gonna run another play? I'm not
quite sure what all right? Here we go to Bisky
trying to get a little bit closer and the okay,
what was that? It was just an out route that
you have eight seconds left on the clock. Why not
give Boswell closer? Look, so, if the playpool is open
near the sideline, you convert, you get five more yards closer.
If not, you throw it out of bounds like Rubisky did. There.
(02:38:18):
Boswell is going to have a fifty three yard field
goal attempt. Uh, And this is gonna be a fifty
three yard field goal attempt for the Steelers to win
this game. So either way, we're either gonna have a
Steeler victory or a tie game. Here we go, fifty
three yard field goal attempt by Boswell to win this game.
The kick is up and it is that's Steelers have

nothing over the Cardinals. The Raiders and Chargers are tied
