excuses Sunday here on Fox Sports Radio and in the NFL,

(00:22):
com the way tire buying should be. I don't want
to hear excuses George and the Buccaneers that Tom Brady
has no one to throw too. I don't want to
hear excuses from the Packers that Aaron Rodgers has no
one to throw too. I don't want to hear excuses
from the Chargers saying, well Justin Herbert is dinged up.
It's life in the National Football League. You gotta play
with the cards that you're dealt. And as Monty was
(00:43):
telling us the scores, George Jacksonville gets into the end
zone to extend their leads. A Jones, a fourteen yard
reception from Trevor Lawrence extra point is good. Justin Herbert
fumbled on a play setting up a Jaguar score. That's
not third nothing. Jacksonville over the Chargers earlier the second quarter. Yeah,
(01:04):
that felt like it was pretty obvious what was gonna
happen in in that situation. And it's not that Justin
Herbert can't play hurt, but he's pretty dog on hurt.
So it's one one of those it's natural that any
time anybody gets near you that you're gonna kind of
be a little bit squeamish about taking a hit. So
(01:30):
so he's gonna have to adjust to making sure that
he's getting extra that the way he's throwing the ball
with the correct umph and everything else. But I I
would say that that's the only team that has a
little bit of an excuse that this week is because
their quarterback is not healthy. But at the end of
(01:51):
the day, you are right, then nobody cares that at
at at some point in time, somebody else's quarterback is
gonna be hurt. Their their their lying is gonna be
beat up, their wide receivers are gonna be be uh
beat up. But that's actually the thing that separates college
football from the NFL is that you do get some
mulligans and and you know, the Jaguars aren't the same
(02:14):
old Jaguars as we had known from previous years or
from when you played there and had success as a player.
This is this is that sort of team where I
should say that they were like when when you played.
They're starting to become that because now they're not a pushover.
They now have competent coaching. They've had a lot of
(02:36):
high draft picks as well, George, so those guys start
to maybe pan out a little bit. They spend some
money in free agency, and right now with the thirteen
nothing lead forcing the turnovers, Justin Herbert does not look
comfortable at all. I you're right there, there are no mulligans,
and and you do need Justin Herbert to win this
football game. I just wonder at what cost if you're
(02:57):
a Chargers fan, you may have been better The Chargers
actually may have been better off letting Chase Daniels start
in like start and play this entire game, because and
it's and yes, your your top flight quarterbacks can play injured,
but this is one of one of those like that
(03:20):
it could lead to a lingering injury if he gets
sacked and all of that. So it may have been
better to just say, all right, we will give him
this week off. Yeah, he and he looks it like
there's there are a lot of that he can't. I
I haven't seen him wing one down fifty yards downfield
like we know Justin Herbert can. They're almost it almost
(03:41):
seems to that he's got an abbreviated throwing motion because
of this injury and how it's happening, like he can
he could get it out there, you know, just completed
like an eight yard yard pass. But it's not like
the Justin Herbert that we know that could be so
dangerous and throw on the raw and throw on on
a rope sixty yards like that's that's the guy that
(04:04):
we've got right now. I picked Jacksonville to win this game,
and and I played literally no Chargers in Fantasy Football,
and I played the Jaguars defense in in DFS, so
that lets you know, yeah, no, you know something, you
know what. You know what Herbert's dealing with, and he's
(04:26):
now gonna deal with the Jacksonville Jaguars instead of that
rib injury. I said, no excuses for any of these
players in this late window that includes the Packers and Buccaneers.
We have our first incompletion of the game four minutes
in there, three minutes into the second quarter, So Brady
and Rodgers haven't seen, uh to have any real ill
effects from them missing targets. There's no Mike Evans, no
(04:48):
Julio Jones, no Chris Godwin for for Brady. Sammy Watkins
placed on I R. Christian Watson the rookie, but Romeo
Dobbs is the Green Bay Packer that's gotten into the
end zone. I admitted George this the injuries have taken
a little bit of the luster off of this game
for me. I am obviously it's an NFL game, it's
(05:09):
a regular season. We love to watch it. But I
just think of these teams play again, don't I think
is a decent possibility come January. It's just not gonna
look anything like this game is today. So I don't
know how much I'm learning from this game. That is
Fox's America's Game of the Week, but it's just missing
a lot of key parts. Yeah. See, this is a
game that it will be interesting to see how the
(05:33):
Cardinals respond because there's nothing about this Cardinals team that
looks like a good football team to me. They have
a good quarterback, but oh my gosh, um, Matthew Stafford
just dropped wood in Cooper Cup's arms and he dropped
it for another touchdown what would have been his second touchdown. Dude,
(05:54):
This dude is unbelievable. Like getting open and Stafford will
just fee feed the meter. Dude, He'll throw at them
every single down if he could. Yeah, and don't worry,
he's gonna get about ten more chances this guy. Because
that's the crazy thing about Cooper Cup in Stafford and
I do the I Want Your Flex Fantasy podcast with
(06:15):
Mike Harmon, And you know the thing about like Like
Cup is if the Rams are winning, they're gonna throw
out the Cooper Cup. If the Rams are tired, they're
gonna throw at the Cooper Cup. If the Rams are down,
you know, a couple of scores, they're gonna throw out
the Cooper Cup. Like it doesn't, it never changes. There
is there is always opportunities for Cooper Cup no matter
what the games. They could be up a score, George
(06:36):
and trying to work the clock and they're still throwing
it throw it to Cooper No, no, no, no, In
in that game they will they will hand the ball
to Cooper Cup. Yeah, which he does have the touchdown
rushing today in that game, Matt Gage just kicked up
forty yard field goal in the possession that George was
talking about. So the Rams unable to get that touchdown,
but they do get points up thirteen nothing on the Cardinals.
(06:57):
So you know what, It's funny how people experience and
players experience shapes. They're they're a future kind of kind
of like somebody who was like, you know, kind of
unsupervised and kind of abandoned as a as a kid.
They grow up to be a lot more independent some
sometimes if they don't go down a bad path and
(07:18):
all of that. Okay, now I say that to point
out Matthew Stafford. He was used to not having a
running game, having to feed the meter with with Calvin
Johnson and like and so and so now he's got no,
like he does not care whether anybody else gets the
ball or not because he's used to that. He already
(07:40):
had to do it. So so now he's like, listen,
I don't care if I if I don't throw the
ball to anybody else. If we win and I throw
it to cool Cooper Cup twenty times a game, who cares? Yeah,
it is it is funny now that now that you
say that, like we almost we almost criticized what the
Lions were doing because they were just there through they
(08:00):
just throw to him, and then you're like, well, it's
a Megatron here, it's just cup cup cup, cup, cup cup,
and we're like cool, cool, cool, cool cool, because they're
winning and they're winning games, and they're winning you know,
playoff games and now Super Bowl, and so it is
funny on how things look differently. The scoreboard has changed
in Tampa. Aaron Rodgers has just hit Alan Lazard on
a touchdown pass from six yards out. It was a
(08:22):
first goal for Green Bay. They cash in now a
double digit lead on Tampa, thirteen to three with the
extra point coming up. Uh. Lazard is one of the
targets that Green Bay at least does have today. And
I mentioned Romeo Dobbs with the touchdown earlier, the rookie
from Nevada. This is in in in saying earlier what
I said about I just don't know if this game
(08:43):
is gonna look the same as it would in January.
I would I would also add this that this could
be an opportunity for a guy like Romeo Dobbs to
really gain the trust of Aaron Rodgers. That could go
a long way throughout the rest of the National Football
League season. Yeah, I agree with, but I put a
lot less stock in this game in terms of like
(09:06):
who can win the NFC or not, Like if the
Packers want if the Bucks win this win this game,
I'll put a lot of stock into a lot. But
if the Packers, if they win this game, and like
they were supposed to win, they are the team that
was more healthy in everything else, so I'm I'm more
(09:27):
trust them. Chargers have cashed in Mike Williams a fifteen
yard touchdown reception courtesy of Justin Herbert. Extra point coming up, Jaguars.
They'll continue to lead the Bolts with six ten to
go until halftime, but the Chargers getting on the board
for the first time in this game. The other contest
right now, Geno Smith almost picked off by Atlanta. He
(09:50):
and the Seahawks tired with the Falcons at ten apiece
early in the second quarter. That extra point is good,
so it's thirteen to seven Jaguars over the Bolts. Mentioned
The Rams lead Arizona thirteen to nothing early in the
second quarter in Green Bay, with that extra point now
up on the Buccaneers fourteen to three. Midway through the
second quarter. There hit George Rice stir up on Twitter
(10:10):
at George Rice stir You can find me on Twitter
at Dan Buyer on Fox. So much happening today. There
is a big time controversy brewing in regards to the
health of to a tongue of Voloa. We'll talk about
their win over the Buffalo Bills. The Chiefs take a
loss in George. Is a story out of Indie involving
the Chiefs that I feel is being completely blown out
(10:30):
of proportion, and why one team may have lost a
game today but they actually won the war. All of
that coming up. This is Fox Sports Red Zone Radio

on the Travelers. Up cutsdown, they beat chamelteen six your
(11:58):
touchdown on the Packers lead thirteen to three. Now back
live to the studios of Fox Sports Radio. This is
Fox Red Zone Radio and Buyers, we are live for
the ENTIRERA dot com studios. It's Week three of the
(12:20):
National football season. This is Fox Sports Red Zone Radio
on a Fox Football Sunday. The highlight their courtesy of
ninety seven point three the game at w r n
W and the Packers Radio network. The extra point was good.
Green Bass got the football back already up eleven on
Tampa five ft seven to go until halftime. It's a
(12:41):
fourteen to three ball game. Chargers in our excuse me,
the Jaguars in Chargers territory set up on a first
and goal at the Bolts ten yard line there at
the two minute warning in Jacksonville has a thirteen seven
lead in that game. Falcons are driving in Seahawks territory
and they are in the red zone, tied up at
ten with Seattle, while the Rams a thirteen nothing lead
(13:01):
on Arizona early in the second quarter. George, you were saying,
oh about the about the Arizona team that they are,
this team is not very good. That that that they
are that this is that they are largely dependent upon
Kyler Murray just absolute being a stud and and special
(13:26):
because if he doesn't make superhero plays, this team isn't
winning anything nothing at all. Yes, and even in Georgia.
And I would even add to that that when DeAndre
Hopkins comes back, I know he's such a favorite target
of Kyler Murray. I don't know if a ton changes
like that, you know, like that doesn't just like because
(13:46):
the line isn't great, Yeah, the opposite line isn't great.
The defensive line has been I guess you would call
them opportunistic, but they have not been very good at all.
We'll get a fantasy look at the the numbers coming
up from Bo Benson and just a second, it does
does make you wonder why Cliff Kingsbury and Steve conn
got contract extensions in areas it makes no sense if
(14:11):
that is about as good old boy as it gets
right there, buddy, what what what's worse? Uh? The Mel
Tucker automatic quick contract extension at Michigan State or the
or the Cliff Kingsbury the Cliff Kingsbury one. I'm going
with the Cliff Kingsbury because there was a lot of
evidence to to a show that you should have waited
(14:32):
on that. Like there was a lot of evidence, uh mail,
you know, like that was immediate so you were like,
oh yeah, yeah yeah, And now, oh lord have mercy.
They have some I mean they have a problem. They
got absolutely like drug through the mud back to back weeks.
Washington did them absolutely dirty and then and then what
(14:56):
what happened to them yesterday against Minnesota to like that
they bear they added a touchdown basically with no time
on the on the clock, otherwise they would have been
shut out. I at least would say Michigan State had
a good season to show for it. I know Arizona
made the playoffs last year, but I don't know if
it was a good season or a great season. The
(15:19):
last half of the season was terrible, and Cliff Kingsbury
has never in his coaching career had a winning record
after seven games of a season. Never, So I would
have been been like, Yo, you gotta show me something, something,
but I will pay you handsomely. But what I'm not
gonna do is pay you and then be paying you
(15:40):
after I fire you, when when I could have just waited. Dude,
there's not other teams lining up to be like, yo,
let's hire Cliff Kingsbury. Let's hire him away from you,
because because he's only got one year on his contract.
Absolutely not. But he had the USC offensive coordinator job
and then became an NFL head coach. How crazy was that?
(16:01):
After getting in in six months he got fired from
Texas Tech hired at USC as an offensive coordinator. But
but that made a lot of sense, right, an offensive
guy you hired from college Like that made so much sense?
Like nobody is gonna think that that's weird, But then
(16:22):
you fail at Texas Tech, don't even call one play
at USC, not even go through one spring practice, and
then you are the head coach of the Arizona Cardinals.
Boy oh boy, he needs to write a book call
Failing Up Cliff Kingsberry's Guide to Upward Mobility. Uh. The
(16:43):
Falcons have taken a lead in Seattle, Cordarrel Patterson a
seventeen yard touchdown run extra point is good. It's seventeen
to ten in that battle of the Birds, and it
appears the Jaguars have extended their lead against them. There
is a play that is under review whether Evan Ingram
got both of his feet down initially called a touchdown
(17:05):
on the field. So as of right now, nineteen to
seven with a buck fifteen left to go in the
first half, it's just a question on whether this score
will stand or not. And the second down and goal
play from the Chargers in the eleven yard line. I
think he may stand. I don't know if it's going
to be confirmed. I don't think it's going to be confirmed.
The it may stand, but it definitely ain't getting confirmed now.
(17:28):
I'd tell you that much that that Tee Higgins touchdown
earlier today got overruled and it looked for a while
like it was a touchdown, but the back of his
foot ended up touching a portion of the line. This
is a It's a similar play, not nearly as great
as a catch as that Tee Higgins made, even though
his didn't count. This was kind of a back shoulder
throw almost where Evan or Evan Ingram was falling out
(17:49):
of bounds trying to catch the ball. But that game
is under review, and mentioned that the Seahawks have the
football back after Atlanta scored seventeen to ten Hawkins and
that one and we were just talking with the Cardinals.
It's third down and long again. It seems like that
is always happening in this contest against the Rams. But
they may have just gotten eleven and a half Hollywood
(18:12):
Brown knocked out of bounds by Jalen Ramsey just shy
of the first down. I don't think they're I don't
think they are going to give it to him. So
it'll be fourth and short for Arizona with nine to
go until halftime in the game that they're already down
thirteen nothing and the Packers and Buccaneers right now, two
oh two left to go in that contest, and the
Packers are up fourteen to three in that game. A
(18:36):
fumble by Green Bay into the end zone recovered by
Tampa is gonna thwart a Packers scoring drive. I want
to get George's thoughts on what we saw today from
the Kansas City Chiefs, and it's not about their loss
to the Indianapolis Colts. It's the exchange we saw at
halftime between Eric b Enemy and Patrick Mahomes. If you
didn't see it, we're gonna tell you about it. I
(18:56):
do want to get a look at some fantasy numbers.
Let's go to our executive producer Benson, who's got some
numbers from Week three that we need to know in
fantasy football. Go fantasy hits and missus. Alright, Baul, what
do you got for us in Week three? That's right?
Starting with the quarterbacks, I feel like this guy, Lamar Jackson,
(19:17):
He's probably gonna be a weekly fixture here um two
d eighteen yards passing four touchdowns. He added a hundred
seven yards on the ground with a rushing touchdown. Another
guy that might show up a lot this year. Jalen
Hurts three hundred forty yards passing with three touchdowns, and
he added twenty yards on the ground. Moving over the
running backs, Khalil Herbert in Chicago filling in for Montgomery
(19:38):
who left with injury. He had a hundred fifty seven
yards rushing today and two touchdowns. And Jamal Williams with
the Lions. He had eighty seven yards rushing in two
touchdowns against the Vikings. Altho, the Lions did not win
that game. Heading over to the pass catchers. H. Davonte
Smith of the Eagles had a huge game today, eight
receptions for a hundred and sixty nine yards and a touchdown.
And then my guy Mark Andrews with the Ravens eight
(20:00):
receptions eighty nine yards and two touchdowns. He was probably
upset about Oklahoma's last yesterday, So there you go. What
a win for KSE State Andrew Martinez in his thirteenth
year of college football. Pretty pretty pretty amazing what we
saw in Norman yesterday. Thank you very much about that
(20:20):
Evan Ingram touchdown. George was like they overturned it. They
ended up uh saying that he did not give both
feet inbounds on a third and goal scramble. Trevor Lawrence
got down to about the five yard line, took a
bit of a hit from Derwin James, but twenty three
yard field goal attempt for the Jaguars is up in
good so they're up nine on the Chargers. This is
where we're really going to see justin Herbert's ribs and
(20:42):
see what they're like. Is that the Charges are now
gonna have a minute two left on the clock to
see if they can do anything in this possession as
they are down nine to Jacksonville. But the touchdown a
waved off in l A as the foot did not
get down. He has George Rice to get him on
Twitter at George Roster. I'm Dan Buyer. Find me on
Twitter at Dan Buyer. On Fox, Eric Bienemy and Patrick
(21:03):
Mahomes had a discussion And I'm not trying to be
facetious or sarcastic at all. Yeah, it seemed like it
was a one way discussion with Eric Bonemy doing a
lot of the talking and and I see tweets popping out,
and I know it's a clickbait world, George, but I
see Patrick Mahomes and Eric b Enemy exchange words going
(21:26):
in the halftime, and I just thought it was so
false advertising and not really indicative of what was going
on between the two. Oh you, Dan, you could not
be more right about that, Bro, You could not because
you're like, hold up, how on earth could you describe
that in a way that that that was something negative
(21:48):
that has gone on? I mean, that was no different
than Aaron Rodgers and Matt Lafleur having a conversation, or
or Tom Brady and Bruce Arians, Like, there was no
difference in in that, like then the then the play
caller and the head coach, or Cliff Kingsbury and Kyler Murray.
(22:10):
We've seen these things so many times, but sometimes they
try to make way more out of it than than
is there because that serves the purpose. That serves the
purpose of you know, of there being some sort of controversy. Yes,
and it seems to and it it seemed to me
(22:31):
to just have the sense again whenever we talk about
Eric b enemy and we said, well, why isn't he
got a head coaching job? What's wrong with there? Like
it seemed to me like it was such a such
an anti Eric b enemy post where the guy can't
coach the quarterback like that, like that that's what it
(22:51):
seemed to me like, it's just it's coaching, and you know,
Holmes can't can't be coached. He's Patrick Mahomes know, everybody
gets coached. Yeah, it was so absurd, it really was.
And I just you know that there are certain things
to take note of. And we'll get into what's happening
with with two uh and the Dolphins and what he's
(23:11):
dealing with and what the Dolphins may be dealing with,
because the Dolphins got a big, big win today and
we'll talk about how they got that win as well.
But this is this is something with Kansas City that
was completely blown out of proportion. Perfect trap game, by
the way, for the Chiefs. They've got the Buccaneers on
Sunday Night Football next week there two and oh. You
(23:33):
go up against the team that was looking for their
first win at oh one and one and it was
coming off of a of a you know, shutout courtesy
of the Jacksonville Jaguars. Matt Ryan wasn't great. He was
good enough when he had to be good enough at
the end of the game, but the Chiefs just seemed
to be all out of sorts and no running game today, uh,
really at all. Patrick Mahomes was unable to Uh, he
(23:54):
did get into a bunch of his different targets, but
you really had duced Smith Schuster with uh, you know,
a modest day. Travis Kelsey did get into the end zone.
It just seemed that the Chiefs were just a half
step off and that's maybe why Eric Biannomy and Patrick
Mahomes were having that discussion and not exchanging words at
the end of the half. Just a weird game in indeed. Yeah,
(24:15):
of course, when like a team that is used to
having so much success on one side of the ball,
where whether it's a defensive team that's like typically a
very very good defensive team or a very very good
offensive team, when things don't go well, there's going to
be some you know, some heated or actually that wasn't
(24:38):
even heated, Like, there's going to be some some people
who are not happy with the way that things are
going at that moment. When you are in offense that
typically scores a lot of points and you're struggling, or
if you're a defense and then they're they're running the
ball all over you or something like, those are the
things that are going to bring up some discussions. There
(25:01):
was there was also George like Andy Reid just stepped
in and say like, all right, come on, let's go,
let's go into the locker room. Where didn't use the
phrase separated that I saw on Twitter, but it was
just like, you know, had to be broken up by
Andy Reid, like, no, they're all walking to the locker room.
Mahomes was kind of turning back and they stopped and
read walked by, was like all right, let's go, let's
(25:21):
go into the Like It's something that was just so
blown out of proportion. Chiefs lose today, but it has
absolutely nothing to do with the exchange between Eric b
Enemy and Patrick Mahomes. They both were probably frustrated for
what the offense was doing today, but I do not
believe it's a big deal in Kansas City. He is
George Rice. To get him on Twitter at George Royceter.
You can find me on Twitter at Dan Buyer. On Foxes,
(25:43):
we are coming to you live from the tirect dot
Com Studios. There's a score in Seattle and so much
more to get to. Let's get to the news desk
with Monty Belanos. What's happening, hi, guys, Happy Sunday. Yes,
the Seahawks just tied the game thanks to Gino Smith
connecting DK Metcalfs. So we are tied with the Falcon
seventeen apiece about four minutes to go in the first half.
(26:06):
The Packers are still up on the Buccaneers fourteen to
three thirty seconds to go in the first half of
that game, and the Rams are still handling the Cardinals
thirteen zero five minutes to go in the second quarter.
Matthew Stafford has already thrown for a hundred and thirty
six yards for the Rams. The Jaguar is still up
on the Chargers, but the Chargers they're trying, They're trying.
Herbie is hurt, so hopefully he can pull it off,
(26:26):
but they're up sixteen to seven thirty seconds to go
in the first half. Trevor Lawrence has also already thrown
for a hundred and fifty one yards and a touchdown
for the Jaguars. Now, earlier today, the Ravens they outscored
the Patriots thirty seven to twenty six. And this is
what Lamar Jackson is saying. That's exactly what he's literally
screaming to everybody right now. You got a little bit
(26:49):
of it from bow Benson. He threw for two hundred
and eighteen yards and four touchdowns. He rushed for a
hundred and seven yards and a touchdown. He's the only
quarterback in the in NFL history to have back to
back hundred less yards rushing twice in a career, the
only quarterback to do. I'll tell you what I thought today,
like with that game, Like there was so much love
for the Ravens this week, and I'm like, like, not
(27:11):
not gonna happen. This is Belichick, this is the Patriots.
They are not this is this is their their home,
their home. It's not gonna be as easy for them. Yeah,
there's people are like I love the Ravens, love all
in on the Ravens, all Ravens, and I was not
feeling it and they were all were right and I
was wrong. Yes, yes. Unfortunately, not only did the Patriots lose,
but Mac Jones seemed to have gone seriously hurt in
(27:34):
one of the very last plays. Uh he was taken
down by Kelleia's Campbell, a defensive linemen for the Ravens,
and he looked like he was in severe pain. There's
actually a photo on Twitter of him being carried into
the locker room and his face looks like he's screaming
in pain. It was a serious leg injury, but the
X rays were negative. He did not address the media today.
(27:54):
He will address the media tomorrow. The Dolphins, they survived
the butt punch. I don't know if you guys saw that.
That was funny, and improved to a perfect three and
no after outscoring the Bills twenty one to nineteen. The
Dolphins are the only undefeated team in the a f
C right now. Uh two O Tago by law a
hundred and six yards and a touchdown. Here's the thing.
He was hit really hard and was taken to the
locker room in the first half. He returned to play.
(28:16):
So now the NFL p A is initiating an investigation
into the handling of two A Togo by LA's concussion
check during the game. They're not happy with it, so
they're gonna launch an investigation initiate a review of the
protocols because of how they handled to a Togo Bylowa
in that game. Now, the Raiders, they had a chance
to tie the game with the last minute two point conversion,
but we're unable to deliver. As the Titans one twenty
(28:38):
four to twenty two. The Panthers, they beat the Saints
to fourteen. The Colts came back in the fourth quarter.
You guys were talking about it to beat the Chiefs
twenty to seventeen. I mean the Chiefs could have tied
the game and they intercepted the ball. It did not happen.
Patrick Mahomesto for two and sixty two yards of touchdown
and an interception. The Eagles, they dominated the Commanders the
entire game. They're also three and no. Now Washington didn't
scoring to the fourth quarter. Have Carson Wentz on my
(29:00):
fantasy leaguing with sack nine times or whatever? I'm over
at Vikings beat the Lions twenty four and the Bengals
came out hot got the first victory of the season
as they handled the Jets twenty seven to twelve. Joe
Burrow five yards and three touchdowns. Back to you guys,
mony that now you are growing in one of my
favorite people list. But I must say that you that
(29:25):
you are getting what you deserve with with Carson Wentz,
no I had I had Dak Prescott and he got hurt.
And then I tried to pick someone up and I
didn't get him. That is perfectly understood. Yeah, and I
just picked up Jimmy g but I didn't play him
because Carson wentz in too terribly the last two weeks.
Ye gave you, he gave you. He already blew he already.
(29:52):
I know, I know, I know he already blew it already.
I know I know trust me. But I had Dak
and I didn't. I lost in the Weavers, the quarterback
I was trying to get. So what the hell is
Cliff Kingsbury doing? I don't know if back to you guys,
this is uh, this is the Cardinals ran a direct
(30:12):
snap to James Conner and mad Kyler Murray go in
motion and then loop back around like he was getting
off of an interstate and it then went nowhere. That
was terrible. No, for nobody on the Rams even moved like, okay,
it was it was. It looked good on paper, it
(30:34):
probably looked good on practice, and it netted them about three. Ever,
like Cliff Cliff Kingsbury that he lets my eleven year
old draw draw like a player to every game. Well, yeah,
and there's there's also the fact that James Conner status
even entering this game. Was in question. So if you're
direct snapping to him, it's I just to me, not
(30:57):
the not the greatest play called no matter what you
do with Kyler Murray. And then on the next play,
Kyler Murray overthrew an open zach Ertz in the back
of the end zone. Uh, they hit the two minute warning.
But that's got to catch that though too, Like that's
like that's like a Bothy third goal. It will be
for the five yard line. Is again there at the
(31:21):
two minute warning. What Monsey was talking about with tah
is is very interesting that the NFL Players Association now
wants to investigate. And you want you know what else
I found interesting? And this is gosh. I'm trying to
figure out the way to perfectly word this because I
(31:41):
want you to weigh in on it, especially as a
former player, but an NFL in center. I won't go by.
I want to say that the person's name Sweeted before
all of this came out a lengthy explanation on what
happened with two uh, saying that he tweaked his back. Uh,
then the back locked up on the on the hit
(32:02):
where it looked like he was king cussed. That was
the reason why he wobbled. He was then taken into
the locker room for a full concussion check. It seemed
to me that this insider reports George was one that
was very one sided and one sided on the side
of the Miami Dolphins in their handling of Twah's situation.
(32:24):
But he does return to the game. But now the
investigation on if the Dolphins did handle and the NFL
did handle this, I am going to go and say
that they did not. And that explanation that that insider
did that was bs. I watched it live happen. His
(32:44):
back didn't lock up. And as a person who's had
back injuries and back to two back surgeries, if that
back lock up like that, it doesn't let go immediately,
it does not let go. He would have been done
for of the day. And and he hit his the
back of his head and then he got up and
(33:04):
then he wobbled and failed. That's not a back lock up, bro,
it was. And I am going to go out and
I have no problem saying this. That is a lie.
It is. There's nothing true about what they said right there.
Nothing I saw it happen. He he hit his he
(33:25):
hit the back of his head, he got up, wobbled
and failed like that? Was it like he was trying
to go up to to to where the ball was
gonna be at because they had had a gain on
the play. Nope, he couldn't do it. Somebody's back locked up.
If your back locks up like that, you are not
gonna be able to play anymore. Day's gonna be over, buddy.
(33:48):
The there is an independent check on this. I mean,
there's some of that has to clear too, of that
is not dolphins related. And and I guess that that
my question Georgia, of as I'm you know, reading and
reading more about this is the issue to me would
be on the what's the did the independent doctor do
(34:11):
the correct procedure? Well? No, no, no, Dan, here is
the okay, So let me let me break this down
for for everybody how it how it works. Okay, So,
if you have a have some sort of injury potential,
uh situation right the a a concussion situation, they are
(34:38):
going to examine you. And then but in that examination
they are gonna ask you how do you feel? Are
you are you dizzy? Do are you having any light sensitivity?
Are you having any headaches? And unless you are just
absolutely bad off you can. You can lie and say
like no, I'm fine, like like no, no, it was,
(35:00):
it was if it was my back. Because players want
to play, particularly quarterbacks like to it does not want
to ever come off the field. He would play with
one leg if he had to right now. And sometimes
you have to save players from themselves. That's the absolute
issue here, is that it is relied too much on
(35:24):
you being honest as a player unless you are just
totally bad off then and and and they have to
make the decision to protect players because you understand, particularly
at the quarterback situation in a big game, they ain't
gonna try to come out. So when you say they,
are you talking the dolphins, are you talking about the
(35:47):
doctor on site that runs this test? Like both the
dolphins and the no, I'm saying the the dolphins and
the player are the people who are most responsible for this.
Because the independent uh person who's going to evaluate him,
he's already either been prepped or something, and and he's
(36:11):
like no, no, no, no no, no, tell him your back
hurts this this this or two is like no, no, no,
or or two because he's aware of the situation, is
going to tell somebody, no, I'm fine it was it
was my back. So like they're already like, as a player,
you already have a plan in place for if this
(36:35):
sort of thing happens to you and you're trying to play,
you already know what you what you say. Well, this
is the hard part that I think is gonna be
difficult if you want to put it on the Dolphins,
is how to do it. If the doctor said that
he was fine and then it was a back issue.
I don't know how the Dolphins can be you know,
(36:56):
blamed if the player got clearance and that's what what
what seemingly happened. Well, we'll continue to talk about this,
just to let you know what's going on. Arizona settled
for a field goal. So it's thirteen to three under
the two minute warning. They're at the half of Tampa.
Packers up on the Buccaneers fourteen to three. Seahawks and
Falcons noted up at seventeen at the two minute warning,
and the Jaguars have that sixteen seven lead on the
(37:18):
Chargers at the half. He's George Rice Stir. I'm Dan Buyer. Yeah,
there were more crazy happenings in Miami today. We'll talk
about it next here on Fox Sports Radio, Fox Sports
Red Zone Radio. He's George rice Ster, I'm Dan buy
are glad to have you on this Fox Football Sunday.
Justin Herbert able to show a little arm strength throwing
a deep pass that now has the Chargers into Jaguar territory.
(37:42):
But at sixteen seven, just under way in the second
half in favor of Jacksonville, Seahawks kicked a field goal.
They're up twenty to seventeen on the Falcons. Five seconds
left until halftime. Arizona is trying to put some more
points on the board. They've got a second down and
four from the Rams forty five yard line. But l
A is up thirteen to three in this contest, and
(38:02):
the Packers continue to have that fourteen three lead against
the Buccaneers as they are just back underway at halftime.
George and I were talking about the Dolphins win against
the Bills. We were talking about nothing that happened during
the game except to his injury and now what may
happen between the NFL Players Association and the concussion Protocol.
I do want to say one quick thing, and then
there's another part of this game that I want to
(38:23):
get to. But it maybe shows a little bit more
of faith in two other the Dolphins have than maybe
the general public believes. If there if they want to
to come in and come back from that concussion. Everybody saying,
I mean, we had Sean Payton saying on Fox Sports
Radio that, hey, Teddy Bridgewater, you know, maybe he gets
the shot to have to come back, and if he
wasn't cleared, may in a weird roundabout way, George end
(38:46):
up showing the faith that they have into Oh he
is George. Rice to get him on Twitter at George
Royce to find me on Twitter at Dan buy Aron, Fox.
Go ahead, George, Yeah he is there. They're starting quarterbacks,
so they want him on the field, you know. And
and Teddy Bridgewater is Teddy Bridgewater, Like, he's a guy
who was going to like, it's like putting Jacobe Bursette
(39:10):
in the game. It's not gonna be terrible, but it's
also not going to be fantastic either. It was when
when I had to actually run downstairs do something with
the baby, and then I popped back up and I'm
like Teddy Bridgewaters in the game. So I had to
rewind the TV see what ended up happening. And yeah,
the wobble was not cool. Dolphins end up getting a
(39:33):
win where the Bills did everything right. He failed, like, yeah,
he literally failed. Yeah, it was it was it was
would would with teetering? Did he teeter and then and
then go down? Would you say? Or yeah? Teeter's probably
(39:54):
the better phrase. It looked like a kid who had
or or somebody who had done like the the uh
the tin bat bat spins and then tried to walk.
He's he's George Royster, I'm dan By. That's a good
example of would yes, Like that's a good example. It's
a very good example a minor league baseball game. You know,
(40:16):
that's what you do between innings. Yes, that's what happened.
Mentioned justin Herbert and the rib cartilage fracture. He's dealing
with more bad news. Third left tackle Rashaan Slater walking
off the field going straight into the locker room. Joey
Bose has already been ruled out of the game. Chargers
are in the red zone, but down to the Jaguars
by nine. Their problems in Las Vegas with the Raiders,
(40:36):
we'll talk about it next on Fox. The Tampa Bay
Buccaneers defense. He's been getting a lot of headlines for
the first two weeks of the season wondering when Green
Bass would step up. George, Apparently it's today holding Tampa
Bay to just three points. Buccaneers though trying to get
something going early in the second half. You heard Monsey said,
Packers up fourteen to three, one of four late games
(40:57):
in this late window. And just as we say that
the Green Bay defense causes a turnover so the Packers
will take over at midfield, that Green Bay defense, the
team that has invested in their defense in the draft
and in in previous drafts and in free agency over
the years, now really coming through as they have got
(41:18):
the clamps down on Tom Brady of the Buccanteers. You know,
when your defense actually shows that it's really, really good,
it's not always versus the really good teams. It's when
you played teams like the Buccaneers are right right now
at quarter strength, you know that you absolutely dominate them.
(41:39):
That's when your defense really truly shows its worth. And like,
it's weird because I think about this Tom Brady situation
all the time, right and what what what's going on
with him and Giselle, and you know, whether he's gonna
take winsdays off and all this other stuff, and I
just can't help. But but wonder, like, like the thing
(42:01):
that sticks out to me more than anything else is that,
like I feel like that the way their season is going,
that Geselle is somewhere smiling, like like knowing that he's
struggling on a mighty level because of the amount of
injuries and everything. Like she and she I don't think
she wants him to get hurt or anything. He's like, Okay,
(42:22):
you want to play play again? Alright, cool, alright, let
me let me know how that works out for you. Listen.
I know that we the the general thought processes that
this is it for Tom Brady, but I do think
with what is transpired in San Francisco, and I said
it earlier this week on Fox Sports Radio that if
you were to tell Tom Brady, who again, he's already
(42:44):
retired and then unretired this offseason, got the coaching change
made that he wanted. But if you were to tell
him that the San Francisco forty Niners, you know, one
year deal sort of thing, George could be an opera
tunity for him to play where Brady would be a
free agent. I find that very difficult for him to
(43:05):
pass up because that man, he can't do it. He
can't do I know, like you were saying, like this
has got to be it. But if that's a one
year he'd be an unrestricted free agent. That means your
whole family has to move or you're gonna be away
from the man. Listen, listen, he actually you know what.
I will not put the I will not put the
(43:27):
chances that zero, but I would put the chances of
Tom Brady and UH and Giselle bunch In being a
thing at about a zero. If he does, though that,
I don't need to laugh. I don't need the laugh
at the at the stress that it may put on,
but I do think it's and listen, the forty Niners
(43:48):
didn't could move on from Jimmy Garoppolo, depending on however
it works out, but there's a scenario where they wouldn't
sign him to a new deal. You obviously have Trey
Lance still under his rookie deal, but you have no
idea what you're getting with Trey Lance. And if you
have the opportunity for Tom Brady, if he showed no
signs of taking a step back this season, of maybe
having that one Swan song sort of deal with the
(44:11):
team that they've got there already, you know, pretty much
in place around him. I think it would be very
difficult for Tom Brady to turn down. I really do.
He put on that gold that's an heilmet for once. Yeah,
but that that would that would be cool. But I
don't see them doing that only bit because that's not
(44:32):
even a smart move for the forty nine ers. It's
it's not because then you're trying to do what the
Indianapolis cults are doing. Like you're like at that point
in time, you're shopping into scratching dimp band for a quarterback,
and and it's a one year prop proposition, like it
takes no account for the future or anything else. I
(44:55):
think the best bet for the forty niners is to
hope that it that Trey Trey lands, heels up well,
and then you arrive with him for next year. There.
That's literally the option. They're a better team though, personnel
wise than what the Colts are, Like, that's the that's
the problem. The Colts have a good defense, they have
(45:18):
they're they're they're okay at the wide wide receiver spot.
Pitt Pittman looks really good at running back. There the
fantastic they they they have Jonathan Taylor, yes, and the
hem Hunds out of the backfield. Michael Pittman Jr. Is
a nice weapon. But it is no Deebo Samuel. It
is no George Kittle when he's healthy. It is no
Brandon Aiyuk. That is not what Indianapolis has. And the
(45:42):
and the defense that that that you like with Indianapolis,
There's been no Shack Leonard for these first three games.
I like the forty nine as defense better. They're they're
both paying linebackers a lot of money. Fred Warner as well.
But Nick Bosa, I think the forty niners are a
better team. And would it would it would allow them?
(46:02):
I mean you you also then you'd have to make
a decision on and I know we're getting really far
ahead of things, but you'd have to figure out what
you wanted to do with Trey Lance's fifth year option.
Would you just let it play out into the four years?
I'm saying it's not, it's not worth it. You are
you are causing yourself way more drama and headaches than
you really want. But this isn't this core though, The
(46:25):
and and maybe because I'm more highly on this core,
like the window is only so big. I mean, George
Kittle was making a season debut tonight. You know how
talk about a guy who's banged up and plays a
super physical brand of football. How many years are you
gonna be able to count on that sort of core
being there, that defense being together like like it is
(46:47):
not like the time is now, like you want to, Yeah,
you want to play the long game at some point,
but if you were to have that opportunity to do so,
I just I don't know how you say, you know,
we're good, and I guess I guess other teams already
did when Tom Brady thought to be done in New England.
But I think it's actually a different feel now that
he's had the success that he's had in Tampa. Yeah. Yeah, man,
(47:11):
I think this is a long way off. But yeah,
they have to focus on scoring points against green Bay.
Green Bay unable to do anything with that turnover, so
they punted it back to the Buccaneers. There is a
score in l A. James Robinson on a fourth and
one from midfield took it to the house. Extra point
was good. Jaguars lead the Chargers twenty three to ten,
(47:32):
and now the Jaguars have forced a three and out,
so Jacksonville gets the football back after l A punts
it back to them twenty three to ten, ninety three
left to go in the third quarter. They are just
underway in Seattle in the second half seventeen Seahawks over
the Falcons. Still at the half between the Rams and Cardinals.
Titans today beat the Raiders two to twenty two. Raiders
(47:54):
tried to make a last gasp effort, couldn't convert on
a two point conversion that would have tied the game late,
so the Titans end up getting their first one of
the season, but the Raiders are now owing three and
reports after the game say that Josh McDaniels had a
lengthy closed door meeting with the Raiders owner Mark Davis
(48:14):
as those Raiders are winless and seem to be a
shell of the team that they were a year ago. George, Oh, dude,
Between uh McDaniels and coach in in Denver, who I'm
going to refer to until he starts winning is coach
(48:35):
coach Hatchett with the Broncos. Those look like two atrocious
hires right now. And there's a lot of assistant coaches
that are looking around like interesting. Interesting, you Uh, that's
where you went when you when you had other options.
All right, let me see how that works out for you.
So listen. I I don't root for people's demise, but
(49:00):
but I don't I don't. I don't mind to see
when when things go poorly and the Raider season is
absolutely over right now, there it is there. They are
not going to the playoffs after being O A three.
They are oh and three. Loss to the Chargers, the
heartbreaker last week against the Cardinals, and now you lose
this close game to Tennessee when we talked about it
(49:22):
at the end of because that game took so long
last week. But I just I feel like last week
was a game that the Raiders won last year. And
you know, you know what happens in college football. I
know you know this George head coach leaves, gets another
job or gets fired, interim comes in, team ends up
playing the bowl game or something amazing happens, and all
(49:44):
of a sudden, you're all, you know, caught up in
your emotions. You give the interim, take the interim off
because it's good in the locker room. After the Bowl
Game and all of a sudden, you've just hired a
guy that is not equipped to be your head coach
because of what trying inspired over three or four weeks.
And I think that's what Mark Davis was thinking that
(50:05):
that Rich Besaccio was, and I think he's got it
very very wrong. Like like like Rich Rich, I would
have given Rich, but I would have given him the
the job after what he did last year. Absolutely, I
agree that's what and that's what I think that that's
why I think that Mark Davis thought like, oh, this
is just a team, you know, rallying together, but this
(50:27):
guy really isn't the full time sort of guy. Let's
get let's get a guy in here, Let's get a
front office in here. Remember they're like, oh, Mike mayok
as well, let's bring in David Ziggler. Let's make this
the new England Patriots of the West Coast. And with that,
I think you bring a lot of tension and stress
in addition to veteran guys like Derek Carr, like Darren Waller,
(50:47):
like Josh Jacobs and and all the other pieces to
not learn a completely new offense and to make these changes.
And I think it's solely on the shoulders of not
only Josh McDaniels, but also of Mark Davis, and I
would say, you want to talk about a win win deal,
it's a lose lose deal. New England could surely use
Josh McDaniels right now because some of the throws that
(51:08):
Mac Jones is making, and again, hopefully mac Jones is
healthy and his injury isn't too serious, but some of
the throws that he's making just seemed to be completely
out of nowhere. So like both the Patriots and Raiders
seemed to be reeling from the decision to have Josh
McDaniels go to Las Vegas. Yes, I mean the the
the Patriots. I thought that they were gonna take a
(51:30):
step back any anyway, because I thought that there was
way too much hype surrounding Mac Jones. I don't think
he's a bad player, but I still after last season,
I was like, Okay, I was confirmed in what I
thought that Mac Jones was. I think he will be
a Chase Daniels, Teddy Bridgewater, Jacobe birth set. That's what
(51:55):
I think he'll he'll be. He'll be a career backup
who can come in and start every now and then,
and you know he'll do some good things if you
get stuck in a spot, you know he won't burn
burn the house down like that's I feel very confident
in in where he's at and who he's gonna be.
And with the Patriots, even if even if McDaniels was there,
(52:20):
I think that their offense is better because you actually
have an offensive guy who is calling the the offense
instead of Matt Patricia, like like you you took a
defensive head coach and a defensive coordinator and you put
him as an offensive coordinator. Who on Earth thinks that
that's there's no other coach that could get away with
(52:42):
that besides Bill Belichick. Yeah, and and and now he's
standing there with with egg on his face. And we
will and we will see how they're able to rebound.
But then the excuse will be, well, well mac Jones
is out, you know it'll be it'll be something else.
(53:05):
I get, like there there are growing pains when a
new regime comes in. I'm not gonna call Nathaniel Hackett
hatchet like you are. I'm still going to give him
some time in Denver, UH to sort things out. He's
been bad though, like like his his decision making has
been poor. It's it's been it has been bad. But
it also this is the this is the part of
(53:25):
when you make a mistake like that in a Monday
night football game or a Sunday night football game, and
when it's your first game and everybody's watching, that stuff
is tough to shake. And so any decision that he makes,
he may make good decisions, but we're only going to
talk about the bad ones. And there have been there
have been bad ones, so bad enough that they've hired
a specialist, a game manager, so to say on staff
(53:46):
to how bad that is? Like if you have to
hire a specialist for game management, you have the wrong
head coach, Like like like there's it's obvious and righting
the wrong George of of realizing, all right, maybe there's
(54:07):
things that I need to focus on or this is
a part that we we lapsed in, So we are
going to bring a guy, push your ego aside and
bring somebody into help out. What about that angle of
things As far as game management, the head coach manages
the game, not the not some assistant, because he's got
(54:27):
to be the guy who makes the calls. So like
that's the that's the part that I can't shake is
that that doesn't help with the final decision making unless
you're gonna give that guy the decision making process. And
and if that's the case, then you have the wrong
(54:49):
head coach. So but but if he's the if if
you're gonna be a play caller and a head coach
or something like that, then you do usually either have
to have experience or you have to let somebody else
do it. Young. Wait, cou has just made a fifty
four yard field goal for the Falcons to tie the
Seahawks at twenty five minutes gone by in the second half.
(55:11):
There midway through the third quarter, Jacksonville continues to lead
the Chargers twenty three to ten. Packers on top of
the Buccaneers nine minutes left in the third quarter, fourteen
to three. Arizona's got the football down seven to the
Rams thirteen to six, two minutes gone by in the
second half, and that one he's George Rice Stir. I'm
Dan Buyer coming up next. How much hot water could
there be involving to his concussion situation. We'll answer that
(55:34):
question and so much more next year on Fox Sports
Red Zone Radio. Fox Sports Red Zone Radio. He's George
Rice to or the NFL that time, Dan buyers. We
are broadcasting live from the tire irac dot com studios.
Ti iract dot com will help you get there an

(55:55):
tire buying should be. Seahawks are in the Red zone,
tied at twenty with the Falcons five minutes left to
go in the third quarter. Trevor Lawrence has just hit
Christian Kirk on a four yard touchdown past Jaguars, leading
the Chargers with a buck fifteen left in the third quarter.
Going for two, will the Jaguars to try to make
it a twenty one point lead. Arizona's got the football
(56:18):
in Rams Territory, down seven to l a s to go,
and America's game of the Week on Fox Buccaneers driving
in Green Bay Territory. But Tampa trails the Packers fourteen
to three as they play with six seven left to
go in the third quarter. It looks like Tampa is
gonna have to settle for a field goal attempt. Joining
us now live from the entirerect dot Com Studios is
(56:39):
our Fox Sports Radio NFL insider that you can also
here on the Inside the Birds podcast in Sirius x
M NFL Radio. Adam Kaplan joins us here on Fox. Hey, Adam,
how's your week three going? Good? Guys? Very interesting day
Week three, Week three Sunday the National Football League. A
lot of teams that were really under man found a
way to win. We'll see how long that could in
(57:00):
you and some dominant performances. You mentioned Philly in passing.
They had a second straight weekly twenty four points in
the first half. They cruised to win, and we also
see a separation of sort of the half and have nots,
which you see. And then then their teams like the Jaguars, folks,
no one was picking them to win the ANFC South.
In fact, I love to find some one other maybe
our a buddy George might have. But uh, they're very impressive.
(57:22):
I know Herbert's looked bad today, but heck, when you
could go up thirty one ten on your opponent in
their building, it's pretty good. Yeah, that two point conversion
was good. I do want to let you into the conversation,
and I don't know her if you heard it or
not Adam that George and I were having. But in
one of the early games, Titans beat the Raiders and
Las Vegas is not owing three and there were reports
that Mark Davis, the Raiders owner, had a lengthy closed
(57:46):
door meeting with head coach Josh McDaniels after the game.
Anything to read into that, should there be time. The
reason the panic in Las Vegas says this was a
playoff team last year but now winless in Yeah, look,
the former staff that a remarkable job, quite frankly overachieved
that they got. In fact, they almost beat the game,
very close to being the Bengals in the wild card round.
(58:07):
But the fact the matter is, yeah, they expected better.
I kept warning people their defense will be nowhere as
good as people think. I think it is based on
the talent level that they have. Let's turned out to
be correct, and Derek cartch there. A lot of people
thought Derek car would be better than he has been,
but run for other star slot receivers not available. They
have a terrible offensive line effect. They only have one
(58:27):
quality star as a left tackle Miller. The rest of
them that these guys shouldn't. These guys really are on
starters in the in the league. So if you just
really look at it, you go look that if they
were one and two, I wouldn't surprise me. I'm a
little bit surprised that there they're own three and the Titans. Guy,
this is another thing I was talking about where teams
that probably shouldn't have won one today. The Titans are
severely undermanned. Their left tackle is done for the season.
(58:48):
The top three pass rushers are out on defense. This
is the game the Raiders. I don't care if they
had to travel. They should have won that game today.
But they didn't. They did not play well. They were
flat and they they They obviously came back and made
it a very interesting game. But you know, the fact
of matter is you gotta play better football. Yeah, they
were a two point conversion away. Is it is it
too from tying the game? Is it too much to ask? Like,
(59:09):
I know, we sit here and we analyze quarterbacks. We
talked about Derek Carr, but it really seemed like they
had a good thing going. I mean, like, are they
doing too much different? Was there quite a change for
Derek Carr now with what Josh McDaniels has to do,
Because it doesn't seem like Cars was as efficient. Maybe
it was because they were down today, but it was
over three hundred yards, but it took him forty four
(59:30):
attempts to get there. Um, you know, how much how
much do we put this on on Derek carr and
and not him specifically, but just adjusting to what Josh
McDaniels not wants to do. I could tell you that
this scheme, the Josh mc changes offensive scheme, is unlike
any other NFL offense. It's not easy for quarterbacks to learn.
I've talked to quarterbacks we've played on McDaniels for an
(59:50):
elands specifically about it. It's hard and it takes time.
And I don't think Cars comfortable. He's played mostly in
the West Coast offense. This is not a West Coast
This is a blend of the mcdame scheme is a
blend of a couple. He just doesn't look as comfortable,
and you know they don't. They need a better pass
target group. But rob receiver group again, their offensive line,
this is not a good group. I mean, this is
(01:00:10):
not this is other than Colton Miller is really good
a left tackle. This has got to be rebuilt and
that they have got they got to look Mark David's
gonna all clos to meetings that they don't mean anything.
They've totally played three games, may be disappointed because of
what he's paying McDaniels and and uh the general manager there.
And look, some of the defensive players were not shown up. Look,
their defense has not played at particularly high level, and
(01:00:32):
they they've expected a lot of Some teams are clearly
so far. Some teams are overachieving. Some teams, like the Bears,
the quarterbacks has been so dreadful, they're winning in spite
of him. Adam capit Or Fox Sports Radio, NFL insd
are joining us here on Fox Sports Radio. He's George Riceter.
I'm Dan Buyer. Uh, get George on Twitter at George Riceter.
You can find me on Twitter at Dan Buyer on
(01:00:53):
Fox George. Yeah, yeah, I'm excited about everything that's going on.
But Adam, as we continue to look at this, like
how big of a deal was this? Is this justin
Herbert injury in terms of potential future injury? Well, first
of all, I'm I'm I don't say I'm shocked. You
(01:01:15):
guys know me pretty well. I'm rarely surprised about anything.
I'm surprised he played. George could relate to this. Most
quarterbacks who don't practice Friday. It's not good for younger quarterbacks.
I know. I know coaches that I've known over the years.
They don't like when the young quarterbacks don't practice Friday
big And I know you can't touch a quarterback in practice,
but it's not good for your timing. And I know, Look,
(01:01:37):
they've been dreadful today. And the other problem is not
that you need to run the ball out, but they
don't run the ball well at all. They have the
worst running games in the NFL this season, and that
does worry me a little bit. There. They need something
to help Herbert out with. Their defense has got some injuries.
J C. Jackson, top corner, didn't work today. He was
not active. He reinjured that ankle which had surgery. That
clearly has been a problem. But overall their offense with Herbert,
(01:02:02):
You're you're worried because here's the problem with the with
the torn rib cartilage. Every time you take a shot, George,
and you and I talked about this last week, it's
just gonna be painful, painful and painful. You know you
worry about that that he rips it more. But the
fact of the matter is to play, he's got to
take a painkilling and injection. That's just the way it is.
You're you're gonna get hit your quarterback in the game.
(01:02:22):
You're gonna get hit. You go to the ground. You
know you worry about that. So, uh, look, they've got
they've got a better defense they did last year. Now
that they played one really good game, one so so game.
In this game they got, they're getting clawber. They're going
to loose. They're not gonna come back. Herbert's Herbert struggling.
He's doing I'll tell you this, he's gotten He's gotten
better last quarter and a half. His first quarter half
(01:02:42):
was a real struggle. But Jaguars have run the ball well.
Trevor Lawrence has been really efficient. He's played extremely well
the last few games. I gotta tell you, for all
the people last a Christian Kirk's a teen million a
year deal. I think the Jaguars are probably gonna get
that one, right He's been terrific. Looks like a bargain
right now, right us. Yeah, get about Twitter at capitlit,
NFL out of Capital, our Fox Sports Radio, NFL in
(01:03:04):
c are joining us here live from the entirerect dot
com studios. How much of a battle is going to
come from this to uh concussion back injury thing where
the players Association UM now maybe going after and finding
out if protocols did actually take place UM or not?
As too, it came back into the game with what
appeared to be after what appeared to be a concussion.
(01:03:26):
Now here's the other part about this, the back injury
that we have to find out the fact the league
is gonna have to find out to a hide a
previous back injury because that seems to be an excuse.
I've not got the quotes from the Dolphins yet so
that that they'll look into. Because the problem is sometimes
players will not let if they look even if they
(01:03:48):
look disoriented, they might say hey, I'm fine and fine
fun when they just want to stay in the game.
You know, the problem with two is because of what
happened with him, he and Brian Flora is about Flour's
pulling him out when he didn't play well and clear
he didn't have his back. If you're too and knowing
that this staff and heroded you this this coaching staff
and you know the owner didn't want this quarterback after
(01:04:09):
a series of years, he asked a one or what
his features with his football team? Now they're three and oh.
By the way, we need to mention that the Bills
are severely banged up, down down set four players and
in their in their their they're back four and they
made the game close. It just didn't play well today,
but they you know, they almost pulled it out at
the end. That for them to be three and o, folks,
(01:04:30):
that's I don't know if anyone had that happening. I
gotta give him credit. Look, they're right now as we speak,
they're the only undefeated team of the a f C.
And you've got right now only three two in the NFC,
and one of them looks like they might lose in
Tampa Phillies three and o in Miami's three now and
and Adam as I was watching the games today in
(01:04:53):
addition to in addition to wondering what the heck is
going on with with with the head coaching situation with
the Raiders, I'm also looking at what's going on with
the Cardinals because like, yes, like they won last week,
but this feels a lot more Kyler Murray saving the
(01:05:14):
the day than it is Cliff Kingsbury being good? What
what do you make of that situation? Yeah? I mean, look,
but just it's just so we're clear with the Raiders
that Josh Champions coached three games and like this is
I'm gonna there's some of the writers are gonna talk
to see if what what this is about. But that
you know, it's one thing to be displeased, but the
guys just coach three games here, So that that's one thing.
(01:05:35):
Now you look at Cliff Kingsbury. Now this year, they're
not getting off the good start. Typically Kingsbury gets off
to good starting, the team completely fades, which is a
little bit troubling. But the fact the matter is, when
you look at it, you have to ask yourself this question,
what's wrong with the Cardinals here? Now? They we know
when we look at the Cardinal situation on defense that
(01:05:56):
they haven't played great. They've had problems in the back end,
they don't run Bob particularly well, they're not a very
good offensive line, and they don't have DeAndre Hopkins. If
you remember last year, boy he was doing great. Uh,
he was doing fantastically well. Uh, Kyler Murray until he
lost his his top possession receiver and that completely changed
when the hop got hurt. Now, of course he hops
(01:06:17):
out for he has to miss the total six games.
A J. Brown's excuse me, a J. Greens and older
player doesn't have much left. Zach Ertz is doing a
decent job at tight end. Uh. They don't have Rondel Moore,
who they expecting to be a breakout player at wide
receiver that he's five seven, So they've got some issues.
I don't you know, it's hard to put it on
the head coach. I think it's a little bit more
front office like you need to help the you need
(01:06:38):
to help the head coach. But they're to me, they
were a middling team. They're kind of what they look
like on the field. He's Adam capit Our Fox Sports
Radio NFL in Center. Get him on Twitter at Kaplan
nfl um. Last one for me, he's George Royster. I'm
Dan Buyer. Is there, like, do the Saints miss Sean
Payton more than we thought? You know, that's a good question, Dan.
(01:07:02):
I think when when you when you look at this thing,
there's just you know, it's funny. They have a lot
of talent on offense and they've added a new, a
lot of new pieces. James is playing with this pretty
severe back injury. I don't know why he's even playing.
Quite frankly, I get it. He's better what they have
behind him. Uh Andy Dalton knows is healthier. Uh. I
don't think Camaro is totally healthy either coming into this game.
(01:07:25):
Uh he he had an injury which the rib injury.
Wich had to miss one game. They don't have a
left to their left tackles out. Trevor Penning is on
into reserve, so that's a little bit of an issue. Right.
It's one of these situations where if you look at
the Panthers today, once again, the offense was horrendous in
terms of the past games, terrible. This is a game
that the probably Saints look and say, how in the
(01:07:46):
world do we lose? When are we throw for three
fifty three? But I never felt like a lot of
empty arts for Jamis today forty one time. I'm glad
you brought this up. There's something off with this team.
It's hard to put my my finger on it. Look
the Panthers, I mean, Matt Ronols coaching for his job.
Let's call it like it is. But look, they found
a way to win. That The one thing about the
(01:08:06):
Panthers the defense pretty good. Their offense they have zero
passing game, and it's it's not been to carry over
from from training camp because talking to Panthers, they were
very happy with with the way Mayfield progressed. But certainly
it's not carried over to a regular season, Uh, to
a finish up. How about them Eagles right now? And
(01:08:27):
they need to stop judging. Going at Jalen hearts, he
looks great. He he is. Uh. The thing that I
noticed about him and Dug you can relate to this
probably did you play with Gabbert I forget blank no, no, no,
I was with uh with Wha the last year of
(01:08:47):
brew Neil, so I got drafted with left wide, so
I had left wid Gerard. Young quarterbacks, when they're not
seeing it, drop their eyes. He was dropping his eyes
away too much last year. He's now any changing his
downfield focus and he now I have to tell you
it helps. He's got the NFL's best offensive line. The
Washington could not get to two hurts and he he
(01:09:09):
was just dialing it up. He was terrific. A J.
Brown and the slim Reaper who's DeVante Smith? Uh a. J.
Brown is amazing and Smith, after he even had to
catching the first game, has gone off the last two
games and they've got it going on now. They didn't
run the ball well today, but it didn't really matter.
Their their defense had this is crazy hit. Carson went
seventeen times today. That can't happen for Washington and the
(01:09:32):
Philly Philly now is you know, if we were doing
power rankings, if they're not one there, one or two,
I mean they're they're playing really well and and and
and it's funny. It's the schedule quirk. One of the
two revenge games. So they played corson Wentz this weekend.
Who comes into Philly Doug Peterson and the soon to
be two and one Jacksonville Jaguars. That should be an
interesting one in week four. That that is for sure,
(01:09:54):
the red hot Jaguars. Adam, we appreciate the time. We'll
talk to Adam put our Fox Sports Radio NFL Insider
Rams have gotten into the end zone mont Blanos, who's
here to tell us all about it on Fox Sports Radio.
What's going on? Mony? That's right, they're getting into the
end zone to extend their lead on the Cardinals right now,
my TV is delayed, so you know something now where
(01:10:25):
it is. So the Rams are up on the Cardinals
officially nineteen and nine, one minute to go in the
third quarter. The Jaguars they're just handling the Chargers and
James Robinson is like defense, what defense? Give it to
James Robinson. He's got thirty five touchdown on fourth down.
(01:10:48):
James Robinson close for these school. Jaguars. Radio Network on
the call. They're up thirty one to ten. Early in
the fourth quarter. It's just Herbie is hurt. He's hurting
and you can The Falcons have retaken the lead on
the Seahawks. It's been going back and forth, back and forth.
They have retaken the lead. Marcus Mariotta found Drake London
for a touchdown. So they're up twenty seven to twenty three,
(01:11:09):
thirty seconds to go in the third quarter. The Packers
and the Buccaneers are about to start the fourth quarter
and the Packers are still up fourteen to six on
the Buccaneers. Rogers has thrown for two hundred and seven
yards and two touchdowns. Now, Tom Brady last week through
broke two tablets. It was confirmed that he was really
mad and he broke two tablets. So the NFL is
(01:11:30):
um sending teams a memo threatening punishment for breaking tablets
to stop breaking tablets, guys. Back to you guys, Oh
well then you know who was going to get a
reprimand then he is going to be kin Kin Dorsey.
He was not happy in the game today. Yes, it
was great, and he not. He threw his his headphones,
(01:11:54):
his papers, everything until somebody's hand came into the camera
and was like, Okay, we're not gonna show this anymore.
Did you notice that it was well, I thought his papers, Like,
I thought he threw so many firs that it covered
up the camera. Like that's why I thought he knocked
the camera. That's what I thought. Oh wow, that makes
(01:12:14):
a lot more sense. He started to cover it up,
cover it up because he lost it. He lost it
in that it was. The video is great, but it's
just a hand that comes in to try to stop.
I felt the same way, losing to Fantasy football games
by combined four points in his last two weeks. So
I I felt in Herbert out, I felt Ken Dorsey.
(01:12:37):
I did. Yeah, I don't think you're gonna see Justin
Herbert back in. Heck, dy May not get the football
back because the Jaguars are moving again. Yes, yes, converting
on a third and five. Thank you very much, Mozzy.
Football fans, be sure to tune into Fox Sports Radios
count Down to Kickoff presented by that MGM on Sunday morning,
three hours before kickoff. That's right. Tune in on Sunday morning,
(01:12:57):
ten o'clock Eastern time as we take you live all
the way to kick Off on Fox Sports Radio and
the I Heart Radio app presented by bet MGM. Yes, yes, uh, actually,
go go on with the U up day. But I
I gotta I got a thought for you in just
a second. I was just gonna say, like, in in
how these games played out, like this Falcon Seahawks game
(01:13:20):
only had like an over under of maybe forty or
forty two. But in knowing the Seahawks and watching them,
I knew that this was this was gonna be a
game where like nobody could get the offense off the field.
And here we are in these four late games Falcons Seahawks,
this battle of the Birds ends up being the game
with the most points. I felt like you could see
(01:13:40):
this going from Amile away while Atlanta is also doing
the Madden on Sega Genesis from about thirty years ago.
What he would just throw Hail Mary's on every single down.
They're just throwing it up to Drake London and Kyle
Pitts and being like, all right, guys, go and get it.
And so far it's worked for the Falcons. Yeah. Now,
I was looking at this Tampa Bay game and the
(01:14:02):
fact that they can't score touchdowns, right, and in three
three games, well two games and three quarters so far,
they have not put up They've only put up two touchdowns.
So and I'm like, oh my god, who would have
ever thought that the that this that a team with
Tom Brady would be like the two thousand Ravens like
(01:14:25):
that the defense is actually that that that Tom Brady
is going to be called the game a game manager
maybe the Super Bowl fifty Broncos as well with Peyton Manning,
you know, like that sort of exact sort of role.
Although I will say once Brady gets everybody back, yeah,
this is Mike Mike Evans. Evans shouldn't have done what
(01:14:46):
he did last week. It's it's exactly why they could
they could use him in this game. He is George
Rice Stir. I'm Dan Buyer. This is Fox Sports Red
Zone Radio on a Fox Football Sunday. Coming up next,
we pay homage to one of the great broadcasting calls
that we've heard a while. That's next here on Fox
Sports Radio. It's the play heard across the NFL. You'll
hear it in a bit Fox Sports Red Zone Radio
(01:15:08):
on a Fox Football Sunday. He's George Rice Stir. I'm
Dan Buyer. Jacksonville gets into the end zone again. Marvin
Jones Jr. With the touchdown reception. It's thirty eight ten
Jaguars over the Chargers and Justin Herbert to your point,
George still in the game. Four thirty seven left to
go in this contest. Around eight he has a rib
cartilage fracture. Uh didn't practice. Yeah, I'm a hundred percent
(01:15:30):
with you, d percent with you on that. But he
is now running for his life on a third down
in a game that is already out of hand. Packers
up on the Buccaneers fourteen to six, eleven minutes to
go in that one, Cardinals near midfield betrayal the Rams
by eleven early in the fourth quarter. Seahawks just is
putting it back to the Falcons. Falcons up four with
ten forty eight left to go. In Seattle. One of
(01:15:51):
the biggest victories today came courtesy the Miami Dolphins beating
the Buffalo Bills. But a play that everyone is talking
about George, occurred late in that game that really didn't
go in the dolphins favor. This is how it sounded
on CBS. Ladies and gentlemen, we bring you the butt punt.
This is risking. Game is goodness plucked indeed, and we
(01:16:17):
just told you he's only had one blot in fourteen
years and that was number two. And look at where
it comes in the game. Let's see if we get
a game personal protector, surefield it is behind well, I
just got through saying instead of fifteen yards, it's a
(01:16:37):
ten yards. So somebody's got just the fact it's in
a confined space. It was not plucked at all. That
gives a whole new meaning to kick and you know what,
the so perfect trip. Kevin Harlan, Like Kevin Harland gets
all the credit in the world for calling the play
by play of when a streaker runs onto the field
(01:16:58):
or somebody who's had maybe one too many or five
too many, and he'll do the play by play of that,
but to just to to add that to the call
of the Thomas more Stead's butt punt that he delivered
today and luckily for the Dolphins they can look back
and laugh at it. But uh, just again an appreciation
for Kevin Harland in the way that he calls football.
(01:17:20):
Oh yeah, that was that was genius. That was that
was high level work right there. Um. But the crazy
part about that is is that that was actually the
worst case scenario for the Buffalo Bills, Like they would
have rather that punt got got off than it be
(01:17:42):
blocked for a safety because they because then they had
less time to work with and all of that, because
had the punt got off, you would have gotten gotten
a ball like on the other side of the fifty.
Likely yes, yeah, you know in hindsight, yes, but this
(01:18:02):
is what and Kevin Harlan and Trent Green were talking
about this a lot of times. Who who do we was?
It was it the Rams that that we saw take
a safety the other day? Um, totally blanking and when
it happened. But the only difference here, George was that
the Dolphins were up four, so you take the safety, yes,
(01:18:25):
but because of their free kick was actually so good
because yeah, that's what I meant the hind In hindsight,
it worked out. I don't think that they wanted to,
and if they wanted to, obviously they would have just
taken the safety. But yeah, to me, it was just
I I I thought it was actually gonna be really
bad because I'm like, oh, now you give Josh Allen
(01:18:47):
even though it's a safety, it's uh, you know, shorter
distance to go as you just would need a field
goal attempt. But it ended up working out because of
the Cannony punted on the free kick. Yeah, I would
have liked if I were the Bills, I would have
liked the whole time to have the ball at the
fifty needing a touchdown with with Josh Allen like, I'm like,
(01:19:09):
I'm fine with that. I got him a okay with
that scenario, even more than than needing a field goal.
Even though Bass has a big leg, he's accurate, all
of that stuff I just like to take. I just
would rather the chances for my quarterback to get fifty
yards on or less than fifty yards would under a
(01:19:29):
minute with those type of weapons and his running ability
and everything. I like that better. Cardinals going forward on
a fourth and fourth down to eleven with eleven thirty
five to go and counting there at the Rams twenty
six yard line at field goal would put them within
one score with plenty of time left on the clock,
and Jalen Ramsey breaks up the past to Hollywood Brown. Um,
(01:19:50):
maybe it wasn't Jalen Ramsey, but anyway, the Rams will
get the ball back as the Cardinals turn it over
on downs Packers pointing back to the Bucks or down
eight will bring you the inclusion of that in all
four games next year on Fox Sports Radio. Four games
in this late window, one about to wrap up, another
(01:20:11):
one a team about to cash in. We're broadcasting line
from the ti irac dot com studios. Ti irac dot
com will help you get there and unmatched selection, fast,
free shipping, free road hazard protection, and over ten thousand
recommended stallers ti iract dot com the way tire buying
should be. You heard Monsey say that the Jaguars just
putting the finishing touches on a soon to be victory
(01:20:33):
over the Chargers. They're up twenty eight with a minute
to go, the Rams knocking on the door, second and
goal inside the Cardinals five yard line. Actually down to
the one yard line right now with seven minutes and
counting him that one. With the Rams already up eleven nine,
the Packers have the football under five minutes to go.
They lead the Buccaneers fourteen to six. Tampa does have
(01:20:55):
all three of their time outs remaining, while the Falcons
have the football and lead and see attle against the Seahawks.
Two left to go and that one justin Herbert still
in the game, George with thirty five seconds and counting
in Los Angeles, and now we have the Rams turning
the ball over. Referees said. Cam Acres has just fumbled
(01:21:22):
for an extra yard to maybe get over the goal line,
and Buddha Baker came in with a shoulder jarred the
ball loose. So the Cardinals have recovered, keeping the Rams
out of the end zone and keeping their hopes alive.
Is there within two scores? I listen, you have Matt
Prator on your team. He's within sixty five yards in
(01:21:45):
that stadium. You can attempt to kick. They had a
fourth and four earlier, George, at about the Rams twenty
nine yard line, and they chose to go for it
to kick that field though, Buddy the way you're only down.
One's like like the you don't have to be proud
in that moment, like like that. That's one of those
that that it would have been even better had you
(01:22:07):
just taken the three. Now you would only be down
by eight points, which is one score. Can we talk
about what the hell is going on in Seattle right now? Yes,
let's do it. Okay, So this game is stopped right now?
And do you know why? I? Actually I don't, Okay,
(01:22:27):
waiting for them to cocha from commercial, so I was wondering.
I was like, I was like, maybe Dan Big because
you didn't bring it and bring it up. I was like,
he must not know why this game has stopped. Did
you see any of the Washington Huskies game last night?
I did not. Okay, we saw about three players. They
played Stanford, right, So that game got stopped last night too,
(01:22:50):
for the exact same reason that this game is stopped.
Someone has been flying as someone flew a drone over
like the fifty yard line and was like and it
was just hovering there, and the drone was there for
like five or ten minutes. Stop stop the game. And
(01:23:12):
as soon as they got on the phone to like
call or whatever, they they brought the drone back. I
mean like they like they sent the drone away, and
now tonight in the NFL BO today in the NFL,
they just brought the drone back. So it's probably the
same drone from last night. So so somebody has figured
(01:23:37):
out that they can, that they can disrupt the NFL
games and this is now gonna be a thing. Watch.
I I'm surprised that it hasn't already been a thing.
I mean that it's taken this long. I mean, because
what is the alternative are they are they gonna put
put somebody with a with a rifle down there to
(01:23:57):
like shoot the drone down. I mean, what what can
you possibly do to disable a drone that you're allowed
to do in in an NFL stadium? Yeah, and you
can't just have another drawne go and take it out
because there's seventy people around exactly, stuff you know, flying everywhere. Hey, yo,
that never mind, I'm not I've even gonna gonna encourage people,
(01:24:20):
never mind, I'm gonna be please yeah, please don't. I
you know, I I did completely miss it, and I'm
glad that you saw it because I'm we're going I've
got the mixed screen in front of us, and I've
got a couple of other TVs with the games on
on The Seahawks are on one of the other TVs
as well, And I just thought, this is quite a long,
quite a long commercial break, and then didn't. I thought,
(01:24:44):
sometimes it's an injury, you know, that takes longer. But
that was not the case. And and the stoppage and
play has seemed to affect the Falcons because Marcus Mariota
has just fumbled the football recalled by the Seahawks. So
it was a second and seven at the Seahawks thirty four.
The Falcons were just making their way down the field.
Mariota fumbles. Uh, it looks like it was a miss
(01:25:08):
on a just an exchange on a on a on
a run option play. I think Tyler l Jeer thought
that he was gonna get the football. And uh, there
was a miscommunication on who was keeping and who's taking.
And so according to the University of Washington last night,
that drone was their drone. It just they lost communication
(01:25:28):
and it went rogue last night. Okay, so but maybe
somebody last night and drone over the stadium. Anyway, Well,
you said you didn't want to encourage anybody. I'm sure
somebody last night saw it and thought, maybe I'll try
to get my drone over the Seahawks. That was the
That was the point, is that you're like, oh wow,
that that that somebody was like, Oh, I'll do it today. Yeah, yes,
(01:25:51):
we're gonna get my drone. We're gonna get my drone
on TV today. If there's anything that we're gonna do,
mind you, they may want to pick a different game, uh,
the Seahawks Falcons because it's only probably shown to the
Atlanta market and the Seattle market and parts of Idaho
and Oregon because of the other the the Packers Tampa
Bay game, the big big Fox game of the day. Um,
(01:26:13):
you maybe want to spread it out to a little
bigger audience. By the way, the Seahawks now getting a
first down nearing midfield four thirty uncounting, they've got two
time outs left. Falcons have all three Packers have the
football in Tampa territory three eight teen to go, while
the Cardinals have the ball still deep in their own
territory down eleven with six minutes to go. In that contests,
(01:26:38):
the Falcons lost to the Saints on a fumble uh, like,
same exact situation. We can't have this. We need Marioder
to win win games. Man, are you saying this as
an Oregon Yes, this is this is a This is
a very very winnable game for them. I mean they
(01:27:01):
came in as a you know, one point underdog in
this one. This is gonna be one of the few
times Seattle's actually favored in a game this season. So
it's a very very winnable game. On a fourth and one,
the Seahawks get a first down run from Rashad Penny,
so they are at midfield. The Packers get stopped on
third down, so Tom Brady will have an opportunity, but
(01:27:22):
his team is down eight Rogers. Aaron Rodgers sacked on
a play at the Tampa Bay They had the ball
at the forty one yard line. Now he was brought
down at midfield. The Seahawks right at midfield with about
three minutes to go in this contest. We've got a
lot of NFC going on right now. We have six
NFC teams playing. You know, you were talking about the
(01:27:45):
Dolphins earlier, and I just I look at the a
f C. George, since we can talk about them, their
games are gonna change, or the standings are going to
change as these other games are going on. You look
at the a f C. I thought heading into the
week that there were four teams that I thought that
we knew were good teams. Dolphins and Bills were two
of them. Chiefs were another, and the Chargers were another.
(01:28:08):
And now I don't know, I don't know if I
need to replace the Chargers with the Jacksonville Jaguars. Stop stop,
stop stop. All I'm saying is Jacksonville has now scored
their opponents in the last two weeks, already sixty two
to ten. And if it wasn't for a late comeback
(01:28:31):
by the Commanders and Carson Wentz in Week one, Jacksonville
had the lead light in that game, but in the
fourth quarter Washington comes back ends up winning it. Uh.
But this Jacksonville team, you you talk about a solid team, George,
would you go around and you can find warts on
a lot of a f C teams Right now, the
(01:28:51):
Jacksonville Jaguars are gonna be one of the teams you're
gonna get to and you're gonna be like, you know what,
They're not as bad as they're actually, there's not this
team I said before the season that this team could
contend for the a f C South and people told
me I was crazy. I was like, big there I was.
They were like, how is that possible? It's like it's
easy because the Tennessee Titans aren't gonna be that that great,
(01:29:15):
like they're going to regress and that the winner of
this division is probably going to have eight wins, so
and Jacksonville is gonna be much improved eight and nine.
Gonna give another another like NFC South that one year.
No no what what well n NFC South or or
NFC least when uh from from a couple of years ago,
(01:29:37):
because they they those teams were six and ten and
still had an opportunity to make the playoffs that that year,
but that was two seasons ago. The Seahawks had a
holding penalty that's gonna bring them, UH push them back.
So it's second and fourteen at the Atlanta thirty four
yard line. They've got two time outs. They're down four
(01:30:00):
as they hit the two minute warnings, So the Seahawks
need to get into the end zone. They are gonna
be settling for a field goal. It is four down
territory for them. As for Tampa in Green Bay. They
are also at the two minute warning, Tampa facing uh,
it'll be a second down and five for the Buccaneers
down eight, fourteen to six. Actually now they're in Green
Bay territory on the latest play, so Tampa needs a
(01:30:23):
touchdown and a two point conversion to even things up.
Rams lead the Cardinals twenty to nine. Cardinals taking a
lot a lot of time on this drive. Rams stifle,
stifling defense on Arizona the cam Akers fumble. The one
positive at least for the Rams was the Cardinals had
to go nineties seven yards so far they've only gone
(01:30:43):
about thirty yards. Is they're still in their own territory
and now there's under four minutes to go. I'll tell
you what we're gonna do. Since we've got a couple
of games at the two minute warning, we're gonna take
a time out as well. Bringing the conclusion of these
three games and how one team lost a football game today,
but maybe one in the big picture. I'll tell you
who that is next. Here, he's George Rice to I'm
Dan Buyer, No drones here on Fox Sports Radio, Fox
(01:31:07):
Sports Red Zone Radio on a Fox Football Sunday. He's
the NFL VET George Rice stir I'm Dan Buyer. Seahawks
failed to convert on a fourth and long Gino Smith
actually intercepted. Then the Falcons were able to run out
the clock after getting a first down on a run
by Cordarrel Patterson. Atlanta wins in Seattle twenty three. That
means there are two games going on right now, including
(01:31:28):
in Tampa. The Buccaneers facing a second and goal at
the Green Bay just outside the Green Bay one yard line,
Tampa Bay has no time outs left one seconds left
to go, so if you are going to run the ball,
you better be able to quick line up quickly. And
Tom Brady does not run the ball. He throws an
incomplete pass the Cameron Braid as it's now third in
(01:31:52):
goal with eighteen seconds left. Packers up fourteen to six
in this one, while the Rams continue to hold on
to a twenty to nine lead against the Arizona Cardinals. Cardinals,
converting a fourth down play, have moved into the red zone,
but again are gonna need two scores. Facing a third
and ten from the Rams nineteen yard line as they
are down eleven, George eighteen seconds left now a third
(01:32:15):
and goal for the Buccaneers without Mike Evans, without Chris Goddman,
without Julio Jones. This is where you really missed those guys,
especially in this in this scenario, Yes, because he's a guy, Mike,
Mike Evans as a guy in particular that you can
just throw throw the ball up to and oh and
(01:32:35):
now now the question is can they now now on
third down and go like, how are they going to
be able to you know, like I guess you could
have tried to run it, but yet that wouldn't have worked.
And they did get into the end zone. Brady has
just hit Russell Gauge on that one yard touchdown pass.
So still Tampa need's a two point conversion to tie this.
(01:32:59):
It looks like Gauge caught the football. There was some
traffic in between two that I'm sure New York is
looking at to see if he did control the football.
The question is if he got the playoff in time
because the play clock was down to zero and we
always talk about that moment, the looking at the play
clock and then looking at the football. Uh, that seemed
(01:33:21):
to benefit the Buccaneers in that situation. So it looks
like they are there's no delay of game called, and
I'm sure Packer fans aren't happy about it, but that
shure seems to be the rule. You know, I'll tell
you that you know what they need to do, and
I felt that they needed to do this for years.
With the game clock and with the play clock, you
need to have tens of a second, you really do,
(01:33:43):
because if that's what it's coming down to, if we're
coming down to tense of a second, when you see
that double zero, we know that it doesn't mean double
that that time's over. But that's what it that's what
it attempts to show. And if that's what they're trying
to do with the pause and being like if you
look and then can look in the ball is snapped,
the play is good. You know. That's that's where we
(01:34:05):
get into this gray area where fans get angry because
it's just not consistent. It's at zero, yes, it's at zero.
The gate is narrow and it's and and by the way,
the Buccaneers have just gotten a delay of game on
the two point conversion call. I mean it gets for
(01:34:29):
uh for for them lining up and getting everybody situated.
They don't have any time out, so they used them
and trying to stop the clock and at one down
the you know uh as they used on this offensive possession.
So now it's a two point conversion from the seven
yard line. And we'll tell you what's going on in
Arizona as well now and and green Bay has been
(01:34:55):
able to break up the two point attempt. So now
all green Bay needs to to is recover the onside
kick and they will get the win in Tampa as
the Bucketeers are unable to convert. And you just heard
George say, the Cardinals now kick a field goal. Matt
Prator good from thirty one yards out pulls Arizona within eight.
But still there's only a minute seven left to go.
(01:35:17):
Arizona only has one time out, so you need to
get this on side kick if you are the Arizona
Cardinals to have any chance. Well, had they kicked it early,
had they kicked the field goal earlier, they'd only be
down by eight points right right now, and this fourth
and five would have been so manageable. Yes, yep, yep,
(01:35:37):
an absolute mismanage of you know and by by by
a Cliff Kingsbury, no way, listen. The Chiefs are having
are having difficulties because Harrison Butker is not available. Will
Lutz had some trouble today for the Saints. Um, he's
usually a reliable kicker. You know. Again, Matt Prator is
(01:35:58):
good from usually sixty five yards and in like you
don't have to worry about him. And Tyler Higbee ends
up recovering the onside kick? Is that any fantasy points? Uh?
And you know and George, you don't have any leagues
that recovering an on side kick can get you a
fantasy point instead of a PPR. It's an on side
kick recover and okay, are maybe maybe we can we
(01:36:19):
can add that to the scoring rules in fantasy football. Hey, hey, hey,
that should that should go in favor of the kicker. Bro,
that'd be nice if if you if the onside is successful, Uh,
then the the kicker actually gets a point. Alan Lazard's
the one to corral the onside kick attempt from Tampa,
So Green Bay all they have to do is take
(01:36:40):
a knee. They will leave with a victory. Matthew Stafford
in victory formation in Arizona as the Rams are going
to get a twenty to twelve victory. All right, we
got Manti Milanios at the news desk. You'll be with
us in about five minutes. Let's go to our executive producer,
Both Benson. Though, it's gotta look at some fantasy numbers
for us in week three? We got Bo, don't we do?
(01:37:05):
We got Bo? Are we good to go with Bo? Yeah?
There we are alright? Yeah? Sorry that Sam was Sam
was losing his mind in here at about the Packers win. Uh,
some some misses today. Carson Wentz after last week putting
up I think he put put up thirty fantasy points
(01:37:26):
last week. Not that good this week. Uh two hundred
eleven yards just twenty one yards or twenty two yards
rushing and I lost fumble and uh the other side
to Otago Valoa another another guy who fell off after
last week. Just a hundred and eighty six yards with
a touchdown UM and he looked to be pretty concussed
in that game. So something to keep an eye on
going forward. At the running back spot, Miles Sanders only
(01:37:48):
had he had a fifteen carries for only forty six
yards today and Alvin Kamara his second week in a
row showing up here, Uh fifteen carries for sixty one
yards and a lost fumble today and wide received. Where's
these two guys? Kind of surprising. Stefon Diggs had seven
receptions for seventy four yards but did not find the
end zone. Um and Almond Ross st Brown same deal,
six receptions seven or three yards but did not find
(01:38:10):
the end zone. After a couple of stellar performances last week,
so those are your missus today, green Bay gets the
win over Tampa. I was curious on the Aaron Rodgers
Tom Brady handshake that they just had. Uh, this was
a this was a three second er and Uh, Aaron
Rodgers and Cole Beasley embracing. I'm sure they're talking about
(01:38:30):
vaccines right now the way. I'm so glad we're at
a point where we can laugh at stuff like that.
You know. Well, no, I'm not making fun of anybody.
I just say they're probably talking about vaccines. It's all
just having a little joke. Um packers, get that four joke.
(01:38:53):
Joe twelve win. Oh man, you mentioned that Bow mentioned
a Monra st Brown. Uh. And I'm gonna I'm gonna
say something that I never thought that that I would say.
But I'm starting to agree with George Rice Stir when
it comes to when it comes to Jared Goff, thank
(01:39:14):
I I I don't, I'm not. I'm not fully sold.
I still think that Matthew Stafford was the better choice.
And I think that Goff's time in l A just
came to an end. But when you when you watch
the Lions play, like I think that there's this theory, George,
that the Lions are just this feel good story in
(01:39:37):
grit in blah blah blah. But when they have the football,
they are moving. And when when you have dynamic players
like I'm Hora st Brown, like DeAndre Swift, Jamal Williams
brings great energy because Swift got dinged up again. Uh
today Jamal Williams scored twice in the loss to the Vikings.
Like it's it's not just oh, isn't this a nice
(01:39:59):
little story if they can get things straightened out on defense,
where right now they've been giving up about twenty eight
points per game. To give up thirty eight to the
Eagles in Week one. Commanders, you know, scored a bunch
last week and the Vikings rally with fourteen and the
fourth quarter to get this win today. But but I
like it is like there's there is some legitimacy to
(01:40:20):
the Lions. And when you look at some of the
bad teams that are in the NFC right now, the
Detroit Lions, despite being one and two, are not one
of those teams that you would talk about facts facts.
You are right about that. I I look at this
team and they are much better than a lot of
(01:40:42):
people thought that they were going to be. And I
now when they win. When they Lions first hired Campbell,
we all laughed at the press conference the Biden ankles
and all of that stuff. But but they have drafted
out and most importantly, they fixed what what has been
(01:41:04):
the lions biggest problem over the last what decade. They
can't run the football and now they can run the
football again, and that's actually helping them out dramatically. And
they're getting competent quarterback play from uh from Jared Golf,
which is the reason why, like they haven't been looking
(01:41:24):
for a quarterback. Like if you notice all the insiders
when it came to Jimmy Garoppolo or Baker Mayfield or
whoever else or in the drafts, like the Lions were
never mentioned. And there's a reason why they felt they
were They were okay at the spot. And I'll tell
you what, there are a lot of teams to the
(01:41:45):
draft next year. They're gonna be looking for a quarterback.
There should be plenty. There are a lot of good
quarterbacks in college football. There will be available for the
draft next year. There are a lot of NFL teams.
They are gonna be looking at them. Maybe the Lions
won't be one of them. I want to ask you
one more thing about the Lions and in how they're constructed,
and then Monsie'll give us the rundown of of week
(01:42:06):
three and a second. But do you think that there
I don't want to say a push, because it's probably
not the right term to use. But with Aaron Glennon
the defensive coordinator, with the Steelers their offensive coordinator, with
if if they have a reasonable amount of success, if
they are in the playoff, push, do you think this
(01:42:27):
opens more doors for former players that maybe aren't quarterbacks
to get opportunities, you know, in those spots it should
write it definitely should, I mean, but but part of
it has to be a change in the entire hiring
process to begin with, because they want to go with
(01:42:48):
offensive quarters like like offensive coordinators, whether whether they were
played callers or not, like there's no set criteria for
what it takes to be an NFL head coach. And
I do think that owners And I remember talking with
Steve Weish about this and where he was talking about.
He said, the owners in general don't know really what
(01:43:13):
they want out of a quarterback. I'm sorry, out of
a head coach. They don't all know whether I want
an offensive guy a defensive guy, do I want a
previous head coach? Like, they don't have a criteria that
they just either listen to a search firm or they're like, oh, yeah,
that name sounds good or that name sounds sounds good.
And I think that's a lot of the reason why
(01:43:35):
you get a more bad head coaching hires, then you
get good head coaching hires. He's George rice Stir. I'm
Dan Buyer. This is Fox Sports Red Zone Radio on
a Fox Football Sunday. She's been winning long enough, Mons
Bolanos here to put a bowl on. What is Week
three of the NFL, at least of this late window,
in the early window, still two more games to go.
(01:43:55):
But but but another entertaining day in the National Football League.
Monster entertaining And that joke you made about the vaccine
was funny, not a dad joke like you usually throw
us that. I had a good one on Friday. Georgia
missed it. Yes, it was a total dad joke, but
I'll take it. Okay. Well, that one was funny. We
(01:44:15):
all laughed and didn't we weren't pretending when we last. Yeah,
so good job, and I hope people on both sides
of the vaccine issue were able to get a laugh
as well about totally totally. I agree. I thought it was.
It was funny, and I agree with you. Everyone should
laugh about it, all right. Yeah, let's do a recap
of the last four games that just ended today on
this NFL Sunday. The Jaguars they had their way with
(01:44:38):
the Chargers from the beginning, dominating them thirty eight to ten.
Justin Herbert was playing with the rib injury. He had
two hundred and ninety seven yards and a touchdown, but
not enough. Trevor Lawrence two hundred and sixty two yards,
three touchdowns. James Robinson rushed for a hundred yards and
the touchdowns. The Jaguars have won back to back games
by twenty points for the first time since the year
two thousand. All right, I know that was That was
(01:45:04):
before me, Bro, You're two thousand. Not a typho. Not
a typho. The Falcons they outscored the Seahawks. That was
a fun game, kind of back and forth, back and forth,
and the Seahawks had a chance, but the Falcon sealed
the victory with an interception in the last ninety seconds
of the game. Final score was twenty seven to twenty three.
Marcus Mariota two d and twenty nine yards, a touchdown
(01:45:25):
and even a rushing touchdown. Gino Smith three hundred and
twenty five yards, two touchdowns and that interception at the
end that could have given the Seahawks to lead, but no.
Falcons came out victorious. The Packers they beat the Buccaneers.
The Buccaneers had one touchdown at the end of the game,
but we're unable to deliver a two point conversion to
tie the game. So the Packers won four team to twelve.
(01:45:46):
Tom Brady two hundred and seventy one yards, Aaron Rodgers
two undred and fifty five yards and two touchdowns, and
the Rams. They had no issues with the Cardinals at all.
They won twenty to twelve. The Cardinals had no touchdowns
Matthew Stafford two D four nine yards eighteen of twenty five.
Not to shabby. Kyler Murray thirty seven of fifty eight
for three hundred and fourteen yards. That's a lot of throwing.
(01:46:10):
I don't know much. I've never played, but that seems
like a lot of throws fifty eight. Now the Bengals,
that is, I know. I saw that. I was like,
WHOA not a typo either. Okay, the Bengals, they came
out hot today this week, their first victory of the season.
They completely handled the Jets earlier today to twelve. The Vikings,
they beat the Lines twenty four. Dalvin Cook has a
(01:46:30):
dislocated shoulder again. Apparently he also has like an unrepaired
unrepaired shoulder tear, and he wasn't wearing a harness So
the hope is that he'll be okay. He says he's
fine and that he's gonna play next Sunday in London.
In the game, right, fair point, he says that he's fine,
and so the hope is that he's going to harness
up and play next Sunday in London. Which listen, if
(01:46:52):
I had a broken leg, I'd be like I'm playing
I'm going to London. I'll see you in London't worry
about it. I'll be there. You don't have to play
to go to London. Yeah, that's right. But oh, I
see what you're saying. It might be more more fun
in London if you know you're not playing. That's true.
That's true. Well, you know, on Friday. On a on
a total side note, Josh Jacobs didn't make the trip
(01:47:13):
to Nashville, was with an illness, but he flew there
on Saturday, and some people were like, you know, is
a game time decision. I'm like, if he's flying on Saturday,
he better play. Yeah, Like otherwise you stay in Vegas,
Like why would you even know you know, why would
you take a separate flight? Like you better go right,
you better be in the game. Makes sense, totally had
enough time, not a game time decision. Don't play with me.
(01:47:33):
Eagles dominated the Commanders to eight. They are now three.
I know Washington didn't score until the fourth quarter. Jalen
Hurts three hundred and forty yards and three touchdowns in
the victory. The Panthers. They beat the Saints twenty two
to fourteen. The Raiders, they had a chance to tie
the game. Yeah, but they did not deliver a two
point conversion. That's what they needed. So the Titans one
twenty four to twenty two. Derek Carr did throw for
(01:47:55):
three three yards and two touchdowns, but it was not enough.
The Dolphins that you miss butt punt that was so funny.
They improved also through two at three and no, they
are the only undefeated team in the a f C
as they beat the Bills twenty one to nineteen. This
is what Josh Allen, quarterback of the Bills, had to
say after the game. Yeah again, next man up, this
is this is one game. UM, we'll learn from this
(01:48:15):
one tomorrow. UM, take it on the chain and again
prepare for next week. UM. That's all we can do.
We can move forward and again we're tune one. UM
like to be three O, but tu and one. Um,
you know we can still accomlish everything we want accomplish.
There was actually a ripport after the game that Josh
Allen was seen coming out of the X ray room
with the trainer, but he said that he's fine and
(01:48:37):
that something hit his hand, whether it was a helmet
or a face mask, but that he wanted to get
his hand checked out. But it seems like everything's okay.
The Colts came back in the fourth quarter to beat
the Chiefs twenty to seventeen. The Colts intercepted a ball
with eight seconds left to secure the win, because the
Chiefs could have kicked the field goal to tie the game,
didn't happen that way. The Texans and the Bears were
tied at twenty going into the fourth quarter, and the
Bears won with the last second field goal twenty three
(01:48:59):
to twenty. And the Ravens they outscored the Patriots thirty
seven to twenty six. Lamar Jackson again just saying give
me my money please. He threw eighteen yards and four touchdowns,
rushed for a hundred and seven yards and a touchdown,
the only quarterback in the NFL history to have back
to back hundred plus yards rushing twice in a career,
and again Mac Jones serious injury to his leg. We
(01:49:22):
don't know much. The X rays were negative. He did
not talk to the media today. He will talk to
the media tomorrow. But he looked like he was in severe,
severe pain. And the big news, yeah, Rihanna, is that's
a headline that three Super Bowl have time job back
to you guys very very much has and I'm honestly
(01:49:45):
asking does she have any new stuff out, like where
this is? Or is this just gonna be another Like
I think it's she doesn't have anything out that's nuke
because she's been working on her makeuplind Fantee, which is fabulous,
and so I think maybe she'll come out with the
song halftime. They said she's in the studio. Oh see,
maybe she's going to have something. But yeah, she's been
(01:50:06):
working on her Listen, listen, I'm a big be leaver.
And when you are going to do the super Bowl
halftime show, play the hits. But but but there's still
enough time between now and the super Bowl. Put another hit,
like like like something that's super hot at the time,
(01:50:29):
and then and then you can play that plus the hits.
You talk to her people tell her that that the
broadcast partners will also play to death over the next
three months to make sure that you know it when
she plays it at the that the maybe she'll do
Umbrella jay Z will come out or something. Yeah, no,
(01:50:50):
I actually I thought about that. You know maybe that
huh very much. How many Rihanna songs do you think
I have on my my phone. That's the question. I'll
give you an answer. You have four what do you
What do you have moncy to Okay, I've got one
(01:51:13):
to three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, Yes, ten
songs the phone. That is true. Yep, so you may laugh,
but but yes, absolutely, I did not know that he
(01:51:36):
was na like that. Maybe Dan will be at the
halftime show just to see Rihannah. He has that many
Rihanna songs on there. Yeah, you have to be there. Yeah, yeah, yeah, Hey,
so I know, I know he has work on there.
He probably has wild thoughts, loyalty, I've got I've got diamonds,
(01:52:02):
I've got the S and M remix with Britney Spears,
I've got a rude boy and hard I've got S
and M. What's my name? And only girl in the world.
Nom you've been playing effort, wife, Dysteria, Dasia, Umbrella, and
(01:52:23):
then another one that I can't say on the air,
but somebody better have my money. We'll just put it
that way, alright there, Okay, then yes, you'd be surprised
what's on this phone, that's for sure, Thank you very much.
Monty can get Monty on Twitter at Monty Blanos You

(01:57:17):
You know, George, there was a stat that I saw
the Fox broadcast of the Rams Cardinals today. This isn't
thist I'm talking about. Today was the first day that
Matthew Stafford did not throw a touchdown pass in a
game as a member of the Rams. The the Cooper
Cup score ended up being a handoff on an end around,
so Matthew Stafford does not throw a touchdown pass for
(01:57:37):
the first time in a Rams uniform. The stat that
I'm talking about is one that we all know, and
that's the perfect season of the seventy two Dolphins. Moncy
brought it up earlier on the Dolphins are the only
team in the a f C that's unbeaten, and in fact,
if the Giants lose tomorrow night to the Cowboys, there
will only be two unbeaten teams in the National Football League.
(01:57:58):
And for a league that just thrives on parody. And
now the extra season, like that perfect season for the
Dolphins is going untouched. We can't even get to we
can't even get the weeks two or three teams unbeaten.
I mean, it's absolutely bonkers, and I think this is
what the NFL wants. This is why it's exciting, and
(01:58:19):
I just I don't see that changing. Last year was
like weeks seven or eight before the Cardinals lost, and
I think that that was that's gonna be the oddity.
I think this could be more of the norm moving forward. Yeah,
of course, especially adding a seventeen game that that only
increases the chances that some that nobody will go undefeated.
(01:58:42):
It's already hard enough with injuries and everything else. And
we we actually have had another team make it all
the way to the Super Bowl unscathed, and that was
the New England Patriots with Tom Brady and Randy Moss
and those those do now I think that they should
be celebrated. You know. I know that there's a lot
(01:59:06):
to finishing the entire job and finishing the deal and
all of that, but at the same time, they did
something that nobody else has done, and like they won
more games then those Dolphins did as well, because it's
a tougher road. I will say this. The crazy thing
about the Dolphins in that perfect season was they didn't
give home field advantage to the best team they like
(01:59:28):
rotated it. So the Dolphins that year in the a
f C Championship Game actually had to go to Pittsburgh
and win, and then they ended up beating Washington in
the Super Bowl. But it wasn't even like they had
a home field advantage, but they still made that run.
All right, George, Week three almost in the books. You
and I will be back for a Week four next week.
So for George Rice to I'm Dan Buyer. This has
(01:59:49):
