(00:41):
We had a match up earlier today on Penn State
Ohio State. It was close until it wasn't right. And
I'll tell you what. That Ohio State team is one
that I think that a lot of America thanks is
competing for a playoff spot. As you know, they're top
of the Big ten with Michigan, especially after defeating Penn State.
But that game to me was much closer than the

(01:02):
final score indicated, and uh, Penn State was right to
cover that fifteen and a half like you said you had. Yeah. Absolutely.
First of all, what's up, everybody who's going on? Mark's player?
My mom stated, listen, listen, let's let's get right into this.
We're gonna wait, let's get right to this Ohio State
and Penn State game. Now, everybody knows I'm I'm a
big Michigan fan. You mich I'm a huge Michigan fan.

(01:22):
I'll tell you right now. I never ever seen anything
in the history of college football to Ohio State's ever
done that's impressed me. Ever. Ever, I don't care what
player you give me, I don't care what game was,
situation with year, with coach. Never nothing they've ever done
has ever impressed me. But what they showed me today
in the history of the football program, in the history

(01:44):
of the football program, that they've never done anything ever
to impress me. The dot in the I the horseshoe
filling in extra bleachers, it's not the horseshoe anymore. So
you can't call it that because you put bleachers there
are at Yeah, yea. But what they showed me today
was growth. So what I'm gonna do is show you

(02:04):
all growth today. For the first time in my entire life,
I was thoroughly impressed with the Ohio State buck Eyes
and the way they won that game today and the
way they stuck together on the road in the conference,
not playing their best against a lesser opponent Penn State.
And we'll get it hopefully to James Franklin later on

(02:26):
in the show. But not a program that you think
is gonna win the Big Ten this year, even sniff
a playoff. They're not that program. But to win the
way they did today, and to have a guy, and
I want to make sure I get his name right,
j T. Tore More, Allow to them all, allow that
young man is a Sunday guy. That young man. I've
never seen nothing like that at Penn State since Charles

(02:49):
Woodson went in there with Michigan and ninety eight against
Joe Jared Vicious and Kyle Brady and uh Carrie Collins
at quarterback and and the single handedly stole that game
from the with the way he shut down Joe Jarvisius.
He had the third down long completion from Brian Greasy
that really got Michigan's offense going that couldn't move the
football and ended up scoring. He had a touchdown that game.
Like I haven't seen a guy going too Happy Valley

(03:12):
and have a performance like they did today. I was
thoroughly impressed with Ohio State, and I liked seeing it
because it lets me know Michigan better be on top
of that game for the rest of the season, because
November twenty six, it's going down. That's interesting you say
that because I wasn't as impressed with the Ohio State
as you were. Spirit stopped your boy, to your boy

(03:32):
JT J T to him more, allowed to hire allowed,
got a problem, Okay, a problem A Day one draft
pick I'm talking about. You know. It was interesting. It
was number one overall stuff I saw today. It was
interesting to watch, especially because LaVar Arrington was there being
honored during the game at halftime. Five sports radios on
LaVar Arrington. To watch edge rusher just dominate a game

(03:57):
in that way, okay, because he was I mean, from
start to finish, he Penn State's offense and absolutely Alcatraz.
Now going from there, you had Sean Clifford. I saw
your tweets about him and you and everybody else in Americans, like,
how is this guy still dismissed? Like because it has
been five six years now at this point, I mean,
you know, the guy can't Look, he can get his

(04:18):
own rental car. He's still driving, He's still playing college football,
you know, So that's another like why is he still here?
But the thing that concerned me about Ohio State is
they had a chance to put that a game, put
that game away early. Clifford gave it to him on
a platter, and then you had miss field goals, lack
of axtitution. Ohio State, of the first three or four
possessions inside their own forty only walked away with three

(04:40):
three points. And I'm that to me gives me as
a Michigan fan, and we'll see what Michigan does here
because again, like you like to always say rivalry game
at night. You know what I'm saying, that wild things
can happen. Michigan should take care of business. Should take
care of business. But it made me as a Michigan supporter,
feel better because this Ohio State team doesn't see. Look,
they couldn't run the ball until Travion Henderson broke out

(05:03):
that for the yard run. In terms of the efficiency
that we are used to seeing from certain teams. Uh,
the efficiency that we're used to seeing at the high
levels of college football. We haven't seen it in this
year and to me, in my opinion, in Alabama and
then Ohio State. But you know, I excuse that because
that's gonna happen when you go on the road against
a decent to good quality opponent on national television. Everybody's

(05:26):
patting you on your back, telling you how great you are.
You have the Heisman front runner. Not to me, but
to most people. C. J. Stril from Rancho Cucamonga, California.
Out here in l A. He is the Heisman front runner.
So you got a lot going for you. They have
explosiveness all over the field. Marvin Harrison Junior, my lord,
goodness gracious, you talk about having it in your DNA,
and it just transferred from father to son. Ten catches

(05:50):
today for Buck five. Didn't have to touchdown, but when
you needed him, he was there. And you're gonna struggle
on the road early. But it's not how you start
in football or any other sport, in my opinion, it's
how you finished. They scored four touchdowns in six minutes
and forty eight seconds in the fourth quarter, And to me,
that's a team that you look at and go, Okay,

(06:11):
you gotta buckle your chin strap up. You gotta play
them for sixty minutes. Three and a half quarters is
not gonna get that done. They both were stupid for
going for field goals early in the game anyway, but
Penn States was even more stupid because you're inside the
red zone take the three, and I thought that started
to kind of turn the game a little bit, like
you're kind of telling your team you don't think you
can really hang with them, So then not to cut

(06:33):
you off in a game where you're hanging with a
game where you're hanging with again when you're hanging with them.
So I understand if you're just if you're if you
are down fourteen the three right the first quarter, of course, okay,
go go go, But that that wasn't the case. You
had turned the ball over twice in your own territory
and guess what ball games still on. And not only that,
that field goal makes it seventeen the thirteen, and then

(06:53):
Ohio State gets the ball and goes down they kick
a field goal. It would have made a sixteen to seventeen,
but instead you're now down sixteen four scene and you
already have, as Shock would say, the type of coach
that's of panic, like James Franklin panicked today, like severely panic,
and he didn't even get out coached, because I don't
think Ohio stage coach and staff did that great of
a job. Those kids on the field, those kids on

(07:18):
the field today that buckle up, the show the pass
and snap on the chinche traps man, they thoroughly. And
I took the fandom of VJ. Vernon Husky, the big
vanilla funny out of it, and I watched it as
a football guy and then analyst, and I literally shook
my head and I said out loud, that's respectable, right,
I like that. I can't front that impressed me. So
the first time in my life I was impressed with

(07:40):
the Ohio State football program today. How you like that,
buck eye fans, I was impressed. I'm giving it to y'all.
That was a really, really good one. Now, I think
c j Strous slipped a little. I know the numbers
are gonna look at certain but if you watch the game,
if you watch the game, you know C j Uh
brces young and the door just open for you handing
the hook. Here, the doorges open for you, Max Dugan,

(08:01):
the doorges open for you a little bit because that
wasn't the best uh performance by him, but thoroughly a
pressent and just with with t J real quick two
interceptions he committed. He he was part of four turnovers,
He held calls, four turnovers, had to pick six. I mean,
like I said, man, I haven't seen something that donament
it from a defensive player at Happy Valley in the

(08:22):
game that big, says Charles Woodson was thoroughly impressed. Yeah, no,
I mean he he was excellent. He was exceptional and
I think probably him and that long run the Trevion
Henderson had in the fourth quarter really uh set this
game apart. That was blocked very well, that tight and
took out two guys. Man, I was blocked. Well, he's
a Sunday guy. I can't re number eight. Yeah, he

(08:45):
had another. He had another hit of penalty in the
in the in the ends on the end up causing
him pushing Ohio stay back. But his ability on the edge,
he was really moves guys around. He's a Sunday guy. Yeah,
I like him a lot, but good, but I wish
I have to agree with you on the on the hand,
on the c J. What's his name, c J. Stroud,
midway through the fourth quarter, we were just talking about
Joelton Gush Johnson on the call. Hey, one of my

(09:07):
favorite college football broadcasts, the best team, but class says
midway through He's like, wait a minute, c J. Stroud
doesn't have a touchdown, you know. And then at the
end of the game, it was like, remember when I said,
see this, trust have a touchdown? Will look at this,
But that speaks to the point of the midway through
the third order, it's like, hey, which one of you
all is gonna put us on the back? Like like
Brce Young has been putting Alabama on his back and

(09:30):
moments like that, you know what I'm saying. So it's interesting.
Now Max Dugger from TCU, man, who all right? They
keeping it? He keeps on the ball like this. Yeah.
But ultimately at this point, I'm still riding with my boy,
my boy hand Hooker. Now, well we're gonna see Hendon.
Hooker's gotta go to Athens. He's got to go in
between the hedges next Saturday. So don't forget what you
gotta do this Saturday time. I understand that, but he's yeah, Kentucky.

(09:50):
I think they're finally gets Kentucky tonight at home, and
but going into the hedges is just a whole different animal,
which Richardson and the Gators are finding out, even though
the games in Jackson like get it, but just playing
that Georgia defense and just to even flip on that
game for a second, all that talent they lost where
they have eight or nine starters drafted in the NFL
and all they do is just put more dominant defensive

(10:12):
players on the field. Kirby smart guys. He's not a
defensive minded guy by accident. You know what I'm saying, Like,
you don't win this, This ain't this ain't the prize
at the church bingo on a Saturday afternoon. This is
who he is. He could coach defense and get players
all you needed. The recruits, you coach them up, they
become stars and they handle their business on Saturdays on
the football field. And that's what Georgie's defensive door. So
Handon Hooker having to go in between the hedges and

(10:34):
go on to Athens next weekend. I think that's the game.
That could show kinkson Army. Now, if he goes in
there and throws for three ad plus three touchdowns over
four hundred three or four touchdowns, maybe a pick because
Georgia is gonna knock a lot of They took a
lot of balls up and they u they play a
lot of tip drill very well. Their defensive backs come
down with balls. Yeah even even yeah Tim drum that video.

(10:56):
Even even their linebackers get interceptions there. So with Hinden Hooker,
I'll see and what Bryce Bright still has to go
through his his gauntlet, and we'll see what I gotta throw.
I gotta throw Blake the Great corm in there running
back from Michigan. We'll see what he could do tonight
in the rest of his season. But if he ends
up close to a two thousand yard Russia, you gotta
you gotta assume he's gonna be invited to New York.
I don't think he wins it because he's not gonna

(11:18):
be out of quarterback. He would have to like yards
total office to beat out of quarterball, especially if he's
able to maintain in a way that if he's able
to be the engine for this Michigan car as they drove.
As they drive, he's going to New York. Well, because
they're gonna ask some alone, said, they gotta have somebody.
But I've been a Michigan fan and a long long

(11:38):
enough to know if Michigan is undefeated and Michigan is
in there, we are they really They pushed Michigan towards
the college football royalty in a way that I don't
necessarily have a huge problem with. You know that. I
feel like this, if Michigan is good, they're gonna be
in the conversation for everything. Of course, because they're Michigan.
They're they're they're a huge brand. I mean, they have
the wing helmet, they both Scheinbeckler right there, the fight

(12:01):
song held to the victors the Big House like Jordan's had.
Jordan that was the first school to get that Jordan's deal,
And they took that big Jordan's emblem and slapped it
right on the front of the Big House next to
the block uh Gold m Man. So, of course Michigan
their name is always gonna be there. But if they're
going defeated and beat Ohio State and win the Big
Ten championship, trust me, Blake Horn is going because that

(12:22):
would be the Heisman presentation will be after the conference UH,
after the conference playoff game, championship games. Blake Corps going
to New York and Michigan is gonna be in the
college football playoffs. They could invite if they wanted to,
what five kids? Honestly, right, they could invite five kids.
They might only do four, but they could invite five.
There's been years where they've had five, So they could
invite five guys uh to the Heisman presentation. But like

(12:44):
I said, what way and see the way the way
the rest of these kids have played out. But c J.
Stroud to my hat and salute to the way you
played today and hungting there with your team and got
the win. But my Heisman, you fall a little bit. Man.
I just know this. Ye Sean McDonald's calling a game tonight.
I was in a radio station in Detroit the day

(13:08):
that Dalen watch Jackson returned to a muff fum fumbled
punt into the end zone for a touchdown. And I'll
tell you, why do you bring it up all stuff?
Because look, it doesn't change the fact that it happened up.
It doesn't change the fact to that. But ever since
then Sean McDonough on any game, and that crack eily
bossed in accent drives me insane. And I'm sure he's

(13:29):
a nice guy, but I'm telling you I have PTSD
from that broadcast. I will never not hear that. And
Jalen watched Jackson went on to do absolutely nothing and
the rest of his college career from then, from that
point up until the rest of that point and I
just being on the radio right here, right now, I
just really want Michigan to get out to an early
start so we don't have to eat none of the

(13:50):
words that we just talked about Blake Corman and they're
gonna win. I'm not worried about tonight. That game actually ruined,
which would have been one of the best concerts ever
went to in my life. That day right now, when
I drove down to San Diego to see Janet Jackson
at San Diego State University. We have a great time.
We go to dinner, we go see Janet Jackson, I
DVR the game. We pick up two friends of hers.

(14:11):
They just watched the game in a bar, but they
know they've been warned by right now, do not say
nothing about the game. Because VJ is DVR in the game.
But when he gets home, so we do the concert,
we hang out, We drive back from San Diego to
Los Angeles. Everybody were get in the house. Everybody goes
to bed. I go in the living room, I set up.
I put on the Michigan Little Brother game and I
see the ending that about four thirty in the morning.

(14:31):
By the time I watched the ending, dude, I was
so hurt. I went and walk up. I was like,
right now, right now, She's like. She looked up at me.
She was like, I know, honey, they told me. They
told me, they told me. I was like, oh why
didn't why? Oh my god, I wait here all night
and it just ruined one of the best days I
ever had in my life. So that's why I'm asking
why the partner is a good one for not being

(14:53):
like VJ is four thirty in the morning, leave me
the hell along. No, no, no, she wasn't. She just
looked up at me with this look in her face
because I almost had tears with She was like, I
know they told me in the Car One game. I
was like, so yeah, that's why I hate that game.

tire rac dot Com studio. This Martin and DJ on
Fox Sports Radio, Fox Sports Saturday. Ohio State had it
close with Penn State until up until it wasn't Penn
State polls, I mean Ohio State rather pulls away at
the end off of Travion Henderson's long run and UH
defender whose name will all know how to say soon
if we don't know it again, VJ helped me out
t J to m a allow. We will all know

(16:19):
that name soon. Just Jay two him allow. It's like
DJ exactly. I remember. I remember when DJ you long everybody?
So I was like, wait a minute, how do we
do this? How do we do this? And now just
it just gonna take a minute. But guess what. If
May keeps playing like you played today, we will all
know it very soon. You know how I learned how
to say younger las last name. It's almost like saying oh, like,

(16:41):
oh you ugly. I can see, oh you ugly, oh
he he ugly. I kept saying that like, oh he ugly,
like you see girls she he she ugly, like oh
h he ugly, Oh younger, and then it came out.
I can get that because there is some level of
trying to get to pronounced jation together where you let's

(17:01):
use words that I know, right, you know what I'm saying.
And if I stacked these words together, and then I
might be able to write it down like that. I
write it down how it sounds, regardless of how exactly,
regardless of how its spelled. I write it how I
could say, and it's gonna come out. It's gonna come
out pronounced right. So that's how I learned how to
say we're go Like so VJ. I thought about this
when U during the pandemic, and it's been on the

(17:22):
top of my head since. Right. But you know, there
were three football coaches that were really pushing to get
football back, and Jim Harball, James Franklin and the head
coach at Wisconsin and and at one point at that
I think it was at the time at the time
of the election, during that time in November, there was
maybe five combined wins between the three programs, right, So

(17:44):
I was just like, you know, this is what y'all get.
What y'all y'all was pushing like football? Who it was
the brasket? It was the brasket was Scott Frost was
the other one. It was Jim Harbor. Scott Frost and
James Franklin were the ones that were like, you know,
we really we need football out here. It's good for
our society, let's good for a the president that it's
Donald Trump saying let's get football out of that. And

(18:05):
I just looked at their records in November it was
like this is what y'all get for, not just relaxing
and sitting still and calming down. But since that time, okay,
Scott FoST been fired. Ye and they got rid of
him so bad they went away two weeks to pay him,
paid him the eight team million. They't have to, you know,
they him two weeks later they keep eight team minute.
Now we're done with you. You can have it now.

(18:25):
Since that time, Jim Hardball has been in the college
football playoff, and since that time, James Franklin has done
what absolutely nothing, and and and my estimation, I think
it's time we start asking questions about James Franklin. Guys.
We we were asking questions about Jimbo Fisher. We're starting
to you're you're even starting to crack the statue of

(18:47):
even Satan Nick, the Great Satan Nick Sabin exactly. You're
starting to even whisper. But we're not talking James Franklin,
who's seventy three and thirty five, that's the sixties seven
percent winning percentage, guys. But you know he's behind guys
like Mike Gundy. Oh yeah, that got Mike Gundy from
Oklahoma State. They just they just got shut out today.

(19:08):
Smoke Trouns scraped forty eighth th nothing to can't just
stay Hugh Freeze, He'll freeze. I'll remember him, He'll freeze.
Larry Coker, Lane Kiffin, who nobody thought wanted to be
touched body, Patrino. Guys, he has the worst winning percentage
than those coaches I just named there. In the nine
years he's been at Penn State, he only has three

(19:30):
seasons a ten of more wins, and two of them
were back to back, and he hasn't had one since
two thousand and nineteen. I mean, he was at Vandy
and he wasn't even that great eventage. He was thirty
five and twenty three at Vandy, got this job at
this big program VJ VJ. He was able to turn
the Vanderbilt And as a quick aside, we gotta stop
with that. If a if a team stinks and then

(19:51):
now have a winning record was turning around. Matt Rule
was just just credited as this culture build older and
turning around her. And it's just like where where was
he's got and he's been he's been fired, and they're
paying him a bunch of what they pay him like
forty one million, Yeah, something ridiculous the Panthers are still
paying him and he told him to go home. But

(20:12):
you know, the prestige of being in the big tenants
you win your conference, and he's only been able to
do that once. You go to the Rolls Bowl, He's
only been able to do that once, and he lost
that game. I mean, when you really look at just
even him being a coach, of being able to produce players,
he has to all Americans in nine years, only two
guys with the resources of talent, money, alumni. Uh, you know,

(20:33):
the the stadium, the prestige, the lord of Penn State.
You've got to be better than this. And I know
people are gotta go. Well, there was there six to
two VJA. Okay, they're six in two, but they're getting
handled by Ohio State, they're getting handled by Michigan. They're
not close, guys. And I just think at year nine,
when we're asking questions about some of these other coaches,

(20:54):
why are we asking questions about James Franklin. Is this
what Penn State program is now? Is just you're mediocrity?
Is just cool with you guys now? No, not what
I grew up on, man, I grew up on guys
where Penn State was dominant. Man Penn State was top five,
top ten. They had years they had two guys drafted
in the first top five picks, like they this program
is to me in flux right now, and I think

(21:15):
a lot of questions need to be thrown at James Franklin.
He's three and four in bowl games, so he can't
even he's not even fifty. When he gets you to
a bowl game. It's just fast. And I just watched
the al Pacino Paterno movie like four weeks ago, so
it's kind of fresh in my mind. But when you
have an organist, I mean, I have a team and
a culture that's had the same leadership for so long, right,

(21:40):
and then you go and you have the bell O'Brien
thing and he jets real quick. It was a real
feel good story until it didn't feel good anymore, because
then he goes on to Houston and James Franklin is like,
you know what, No, I'll come here and give me
your tire and your poor and you're hungry, and I'll
make this thing a place where we can feel good
about it. And but to your point, we're now on
your nine right. The exactly to feel good vibes and

(22:01):
so on and so forth. Those things are tough to
to to still have as your main selling points in
your nine. At this point, you got a record, you
got wins and losses, and people have seen what you
have been doing, and you're out of the Big Ten
right now. Like their seasons there there, their season is
over because in a Big ten. I know that some
other conferences they look for bigger things, but the Big Ten.
I grew up a Big Ten fan, Maan, I grew
up loving Big ten football. The Big Ten Championship, it's

(22:23):
it's it's right there with the National Championship, guys, it
really is, and that's super important in that conference. So
you're out of that because you already have two losses
and you lost to the two other teams that are
still undefeated, and you're gonna go ahead to head November
twenty six. So that's out. So now you're gonna be
relegated to what the Liberty Ball which he's been in before,
the Music City Ball, which he's been in before. What

(22:44):
the hell is the b b v A Bowl? Is
that a bank or something like? That's another bowl that
he's been Like, Penn State doesn't go to the b
B v A ball guys like, I'm sorry, I'm I'm
I'm an old head man, I'm an o G. I
just remember when this program look different and if and
I hear what you're saying, because the same thing happened
with Florida State when Bobby Bowden gave up Florida State.
Jimble came in and saved it a little bit. But
other than that, it has been a program that's been

(23:06):
in flux. But nobody's got nine years there since since
Bobby Bowden. So how is Franklin sitting on year nine?
We need to start asking some questions and also a
name that he has a worst winning percentage of. I
think it's time for Oklahoma State maybe to start asking
some questions about Gundy, man, Like serious, it's been long
enough and you start losing like that today in the conference,
it doesn't look like there's an upswing in that program either.

(23:29):
I mean Oklahoma State from the from the Trooper Hubbard
video and the Mike Gundy's one of one American News
shirt to the annihilation they got today. Steve T. Sager
will have more on that annihilation and the rest of
what's going on in college sports and the world of
sports in general with Steve what's trending in the world
of sports right now? No, but there we go, hello, gentlemen.

(23:53):
Number two Ohio State with the win at Penn State
thirty one. That means it ain't no record for the
Buckeyes now and next two games are against Northwestern and Indiana.
And this note that the in college football's recent history,
it's been six years since anyone did what Ohio States
just done. Remember they had the opening win that was

(24:13):
low scoring and closed against Notre Dame. But since then,
the Buckeyes have not only won seventh straight, they've scored
at least forty four points in each of the games
and won by double digits in the seventh straight games.
So eight and oh overall, and I mentioned the next
two opponents are not quite what they faced today. Number
one Georgia is eight and OH after beating Florida forty

(24:33):
two to twenty. Third ranked Tennessee trying to go to
eight and oh, and in fact, an early touchdown has
the balls at home leading nineteenth rank Kentucky seven to nothing.
Number four Michigan seven and OH is hosting Michigan State
in a few minutes. Number seven TCU a winner at
West Virginia forty one to thirty one. Eighth ranked Oregon
on FS one one at kalis Expected forty two to

(24:55):
twenty four. Ninth ranked Oklahoma State got shut out, didn't
just loose, didn't score at Kansas State forty eight. Nothing
for KSE Day, which was ranked twenty second this week.
Tenth ranked USC is playing at Arizona and the Wildcats
have just taken a seven three lead mid first quarter.
Code Number ten this week in the A People was
wake Forest, but they just lost at Louisville to one.

(25:19):
Other upset losses number sixteen Syracuse beating at home by
Notre Dame forty one to twenty four. Number twenty Cincinnati
a loser giving up a touchdown run in the final
minute at Central Florida twenty five to twenty one, and
Missouri winner at number twenty five South Carolina twenty three
to twenty. There are seven NBA games tonight, including the
owen four Sacramento Kings leading early third quarter against Miami

(25:42):
seventy one fifty six. If the Heat lose this, Miami
will be two and five this year. DeAndre eight and
of the Suns will miss at least a week after
last night's sprained ankle. Titans quarterback Ryan Tannehill is out
for the Sunday game at Houston due to illness as
well as an ankle injury. Rookie Malik Willis will start.
You got all the starting reps at practice this week.
Houston wide receiver Nico Collins is out with a groin injury.

(26:05):
Steelers kicker Chris Boswell out for the game at Philadelphia
with a groin injury. Pittsburgh signed kicker Nick Skiba, and
Bengals wide receiver Jamaar Chase, with his hip injury, will
miss at least the Monday night game at Cleveland. He
could miss a month, but will not go on i
R they say. And it's Game two of the World
Series on Fox TV tonight, first pitch in a half
an hour as top seed Houston blew a lead and

(26:26):
lost in ten innings last night, so down one oh
in the series, hosting six seed Philadelphia again from Bert
Valdez against the Philly Zach Wheeler is the pitching matchup
and in the Astro's lineup tonight, your Don Alvarez will
be the d H starting in left field, will be
a lead miss d aspect to you. Thanks Steve. Charlotte's

(27:11):
I don't know if you have seen the comments coming
out from Green Bay, but one of my favorite phrases,
it is getting late early. It's getting late early in
lambeau Field in Green Bay. And I think a lot
of it has to do with Aaron Rodgers and Matt
Lafleur and the and the the marriage of the quarterback
and play caller. You're gonna have to go a little
deeper in that for me before I answer that. You

(27:33):
got so what so? What are you saying? What do
you think it's happening? What do you predict that? Where
do you think this is going? Do you remember when
Matt Lafleur was hired, and Ted Thompson was at that
time was in the Packers front office, says he calls
Aaron Rodgers and says, don't be part of the problem. Okay,
that was what he said to Aaron Rodgers at the time,

(27:54):
and it's like, what do you mean to be part
of the problem? And I think what you see now
is Aaron Rodgers is being a part of the problem. Now,
is that problem all Aaron Rodgers fault? I don't necessarily think. So.
He's has some responsibility here, responsibility in which he's taking
zero of Right now, he has some responsibility, but he's
taking very very little of it because don't forget that

(28:16):
his quarterback coach grated him. Good. So everything is good
after that Washington game, right, But when you see the
the way that Rogers and Laflour are going back and
forth in their press conferences in the media, it's given
me a sign that a Matt Lafleur has no idea
what he's doing. And I understand that he has been
one of the better coaches in terms of record in

(28:37):
the NFL. Fired. However, as soon as the moment that
Davante Adams who was the only player on Green Bay
that demanded double coverage. Right, you know there's some guys
who just demand two people are gonna check them and
you VJ you know what. You know, football have to
know it's a numbers game. You need to stood up,
you need to outside. So as soon as you have

(28:58):
that guy who's demanding that double coverage, everybody else is
single and that everybody else life is easier. Okay, Matt
Laflour loses, Davante Adams is calling the offense the shame
exact way as he did like he had him, which
that's not gonna work out. Okay when you when you
are losing a top five receiver in the league, right, Like,

(29:19):
let's look at the Kansas City Chiefs for example. You
know what they're not doing so much throwing the ball deep.
You know why they don't have a top five deep
threat anymore. They have nbs and juju. So what do
they do they get off mbs and juju? Right, So
that's why I say Matt Laflour is not It's not.
It seems like he can't call it unless he's got
an all time guy playing wide receiver. Now Tecndally Aaron Rodgers,

(29:41):
what are you? You are the guy here? Like you
are the man in charge? Okay, because we just I
just illustrated by Matt la Floor is not okay. Aaron
Rodgers is the guy in charge. Aaron Rodgers. When you
go into a press conference, especially when you gotta think,
these guys like Romeo Dobbs and Christian Watkins, they've been
watching you. They been watching you their entire lives. Right,

(30:03):
a rod has been a quarterback my whole memory of football,
for my life. But you know what I'm saying, to
imagine if you're if you're twenty two walking into the league.
So I get where he's saying. Look, we gotta get better.
Our guys gotta drill down more. We gotta keep things simple.
But when you get into the hey, guys aren't here

(30:24):
making pleasure to get guys up. It's week eight. Who
are you gonna go get who? Like there's Odell Beckham,
that's your answer, there's I mean the trade deadline coming up.
So that's what he was speaking. He was speaking towards here.
Here's my thing about Aaron Rodgers. Aaron Rodgers, much like
Tom Brady, is gonna get a pass from guys like me,
because I'm not gonna forget how great someone's been for

(30:47):
fifteen plus years and really have been the reason why
a franchise has even been relevant and anybody's even gave
a damn about it. I can't let all that go
because I also have to look at the totality of
everything that he is speaking from. He didn't run Devontae
Adams out of Green Bay. Devontae wanted to leave for

(31:07):
whatever reason it was. I don't even know if it was.
The front office had a reason to do with the
fact that the grand band wasn't about to give him
the bag. And well, but here's the thing, though, that's
not Aaron Rodgers's fault. Though I'm not gonna I'm not
gonna blame him for that now him speaking about the
guys aren't making plays. He's frustrated right now, man, Lebron
fans don't get mad when he tells he throws people

(31:29):
under the bus. Why y'all mad at Aaron Rodgers. He's
throwing people under the bus now sometimes necessarily appropriate for
Lebron and talk about I don't have a bunch of
lasers out there. Well, but he does, though, and this
is what you get when you have ego and you
have greatness, And sometimes I like it and sometimes I won't.
For Aaron Rodgers, though, football is a sport where I
gotta dude, you gotta get me weapons. You can't get

(31:51):
me these young guys who you just said don't even
remember watching my greatness. You can't bring me these guys
and expect me to still prepare the meals I was
prepared before. We was eating steak and lobster for a
long time. We're eating grilled spam sandwiches and ramen noodle
right now, and y'all still want me to still serve
you a meal that tastes like the steak and lobster

(32:14):
we were eating. I can't do that. As the chef.
You're right, he's the man, he's the executive chef. He's
running the restaurant. But you, sir, the supplier, the head coach,
the person that's ordering the food and bringing me the
ingredients to cook. You gotta bring me better ingredients. So
I'm not really mad at him for that, guys, But
right now we're in the middle of cooking the meal.
It's not August, it's not September. Halloween is on that

(32:40):
you know what I'm saying, Like, at this point in time,
we got the groceries that we're gonna have in the kitchen.
The stores closed, it's the car to shut down the door.
That's okay. So we're still okay. So you might be
able to go down to the gas station and get
you something that's gonna be You might be able to
get your seven gallon dollar of milk, just like the
Chris like this ever go for the nine is when

(33:01):
they've got a seven dollar gallon of milk and Christian
McCaffrey and all that pis. Is that the answer for
Green Bay right now? Today they need a receiver. Man,
if I were green Bay, I'm looking at look. Look,
the Chiefs just did it again. They just went and
got Dadarius Tony from the Giants. The Chiefs just did
it again. The Eagles were in on it came out.
They were talking to Carolina, they were trying to get McCaffrey,

(33:23):
and now they're in talks with Kamara and in New Orleans.
So listen, the store is still opened. Dog, you ain't
gotta go to the gas station. Actually that was really
funny too, just by the way, But you ain't gotta
go to the gas station. Rouse is still open, Safeway,
Giant food line, the food department at Walmart. The store
don't close it till eleven. Albertson's Stater Brothers and I've

(33:47):
been I've been on the West coast for a while now.
But the store still open. And what he's saying is, listen,
take this, take this hondo, run to the store real
quick and grabbed me a boxer wide receiver. There's something
that are unhappy where they are right now, and they
want to get out of the way. There. Even Claypool,
Now he shot himself in the foot by going out

(34:07):
and calling himself a top five guy. That radio stages
of the TV is just like listen, Brian, just standing confidence.
But come on, you're not a top five receiver. But
maybe a change of scenery and a guy who's been
in the league long enough to run good routes, make
catches and make place for you, you know, maybe maybe
you need something like that. So I'm not mad at
him for that. But at the end of the day too,

(34:28):
as the leader, somebody's got to say it. Man, he's
not playing any worse. He does, just doesn't have any
weapons as offensive line sucks is like Brady. If you
still watch Brady dropped back and throw the football, dude,
it's all still there. He just doesn't have his weapons
and he aren't making plays for me. The differences, and
you want to talk about the leadership and all this.
I have taken time Brady to task several times for
his absence from training, camping is going to wed and

(34:51):
so on. But when you go and listen to them
after the game, it's all about we and us and
we and us, And when Aaron Rodgers goes to his
postgame press conferences, it's a whole lot of the day
in them and not we in us. And that's okay.
If you're saying that, then okay, you got a point
with that. Okay, you got a right you gotta push
my point, all right, that's my point. The beginning, Aaron

(35:14):
Rodgers had a whole lot of blame and he wasn't
taking it. But he hasn't blame minute, but he's just
not taking it them. But like at this point in time, Bro,
you gotta realize, like it's not about who's at fault.
We got to figure it out. Very true, but I
agree with you on this. He's not. He's not taking
any he's not taking any blame as far as me, me, me,
and I think his his US is. You know, it's

(35:36):
I'm gonna let you have that one. That part I'm
gonna let you have. I'm not even gonna because what
I say, it's gonna be too long. So yeah, I'll
look at him what I want to say, it's gonna
be too long. Coming up next year Uncle Vj's corner
to say, whatever the hell you want to say, big fellow,
you're ready for that? No A, are y'all ready for this?
Not me, I've been ready. Fox Sports Radio, Fox Sports
Saturday coming to you live from the tire rack dot
Com studios. It's Martin and VJ. Fox Sports Radio, Fox

(35:58):
Sports Saturday, and it's time every day every Saturday. Around
seven fifty. We get into Uncle v J's corner. VJ.
What you got, oh man, Yes, sir, first of all,
but yeah, know how Uncle VJ gets down. Man, I'm
not cool, Uncle Man, I can I'm a baby. Sit
your kids. We're gonna play video games. I got the
sugar free ice pops. I ain't gonna give your kids

(36:19):
no ice cream, too much sugar and give him the
all natural joints, so you could come hang out with
Uncle VJ. Man. But one thing Uncle VJ does not
like is wasting his time. And I feel like I've
been wasting my time trying to tell you all something
about a mega star, like he is a mega star,
and he's probably a really, really nice guy, and he
does a lot of great things off the corey with

(36:40):
his friends, and he moved all his boys out here,
and everybody got matches and businesses and money and Bentley's
and all that fame and everything is just beautiful and gorgeous.
And I get that. I think I know who you're
talking about. We will be in a much better place
as fans and as sports broadcast journalists that Lebron James

(37:02):
announces that he is retiring and leaving the NBA. This man,
in my opinion, man which is very strong, has done
nothing to grow the game. It's all a bit about him,
talk a bit about him, him, m m m. We
have never had to say in my lifetime that somebody
needed more help. Nobody said Jordan needed more help. Nobody

(37:23):
says Shocky Kobe needed more help. When they got swept
back to back years in the playoffs, nobody said. Clyde
Drexler needed more help. In Portland's Barkley needed more help.
You we needed more help. Reggie Miller needed more help
stopping him alone. Needed more help. Paying and Gary, Gary Payton,
and and Shawn Kemp needed more help. Shock and Pity

(37:44):
in Orlando needed more out. The only guy that has
ever needed more help is Lebron James. He's the only
guy who gets all the credit when they win, and
everybody else is at fault when they loose. When Jordan
was getting eliminated when he was young, nobody blamed Alex English,

(38:05):
Nobody blamed Horse Grant, nobody blamed Scottie Pippen, nobody blamed
b j Armstrong. Nobody blamed Bill cart Right. When Isaiah
Thomas and Joe Dumars is getting eliminated, nobody blamed Mark McGuire.
Nobody blamed Rick Mohard, Bill Lambert, Adrian Danley, nobody blamed
those guys. We all looked at the stars and said,

(38:26):
get it done, get better. Kobe walked off of the
Boston Garden losing by thirty six in the Game six
of the NBA Finals, and he talks about later his
career letting the green and white coffetti following him. What
did he said at the podium Martin and say after
the game. He didn't say, my guys gotta get better,
They gotta get better. He said, we need to be tougher.

(38:48):
We This guy has ruined, in my opinion, a lot
of sports talk, TV and radio because it's all debate
of now we don't even talk about sports. We just
talked about what if could, would should have been? A
had guy to need need this guy. This guy gotta
go the Lakers. Everybody named that's mentioned now it's Terry Rogier.
Now he's the guy that's gonna come save Lebron. I

(39:10):
can't wait for this man to get out of basketball.
But guess what, we're still gonna have to deal with
him because he's gonna cram his sons down our throat.
And I'm not talking about those young men because they're
not adults. They're just kids. I don't know if neither
one of them more pro players like a playball like
that anyway. I just hear what I see clips on TV.
I'm just give me see what I see clips on
TV and hear what I hear people say. But I
promise you I told Martin this are he gonna cram

(39:32):
his son's down our throat for the next twenty years.
Congratulations to break in Karemad Jabbar's record this year. I
do salute that. But sir, your narcissum and all your
blame and your poor body language and your blame, blame,
blame and everybody under the bus. I cannot wait for
this man to leave basketball, and I think we'll be
better off because of it. I just have to say

(39:54):
throughout your whole little diet drive there all that I
I alright, we we we sound simil to somebody. I
was talking about this one second ago. You can see
that two big problem about that. I don't know. That
seems interesting. What do you say, Tom Brown? That's interesting,
very interesting, very interesting. Now tell the whole story. What
did I say, dorm break? What did America only heard

(40:15):
what she said into that microphone? That's that's got it.
I gotta tell you that, all right. I mean something
to think about as we come forward. We'll get into
the World Series. That's just about the first pitch in Michigan,
Michigan State. They kicked off a minute ago. We'll get
to a Fox Sports Saturday Martin and VJ broadcasting live

(40:37):
from the tire rack dot Com studio. Off tire rack
dot com, we'll help you get there and on the
match selection, fast free shipping, free road hatter protection. Over
ten thousand recommended his dollars tire rack dot com the
way tire buying should be. Football fans be sure to
tune in the Fox Sports radios count Down the Kickoff
presented by bet MGM on Sunday morning, three hours before kickoff.

(40:58):
That's right. Tune in the sun day morning at ten
a m. East as we take you all the way
to kick off on foxwors Radio and the I Heart
Radio app are presented by bet MGM J World Show.
What's that? That's a good show? Listen comes down the kickoff?
There you I thought you're saying we were having a
good show. I think so too, But maybe that we're
the better. Talk about like three seconds ago before we

(41:20):
got all the radio, No, we got the World Series
getting ready to get started game two. What were your
takeaways from game one? If and like after watching that game, Verlander,
you know, starts out okay, and it's not so great
mowing guys down. Man with Verlander was doing? I told
I tweeted Verlander just seemed like a guy you just
want to sit on the back porch with have a

(41:42):
bit and have a beer with man and just talk,
just talk about life and watch the labrador run around
in the tall grass and the kids on the swing,
just with with your with your kids, right, just two
grown men. The wives are in the house and you
guys are out back just having guy time and guy talking.
But I thought that what I took from it to
man is the Phillies are for real. Like the Phillies
are real and they and you have to think about it.

(42:03):
They're the last team in the Phillies were the last
team in through the wild Card and they're in the
World Series and up one nothing going in to Game
two tonight. To my takeaway also to was this is
gonna be a great series. Man, this is I don't
think this is gonna be fast. I think there's gonna
be a long series, six or seven games. I expect
Houston to bounce back tonight. We know they can hit
the ball. Tucker went deep twice and had a double.

(42:25):
We gotta get guys like Alt to off the snot
I'm I I picked how about that back in back
in April because I'm pulling for Dusty Baker to get
a ring, so I I need them to bounce back
and win this game tonight. But they got got their
their backs to heat up again, man, and we'll see.
I expect the low scoring game. I think I took
the under on this tonight, and I think pitching will
be at a premium tonight. How about how to getting

(42:46):
on base in in late game innings? On that little
bluepe he for sure thought it was out. That's one
of those that's why kids, that's why you run to
first base every time you make contact. That right right
there's like just get down there because you never know.
And he also started to oh, it's five to start
the postseason and leading going into last night, he was
three of thirty two this postseason. So he just hasn't

(43:08):
been making contact and hitting the ball, and he's grounding
out man hitting into double play. So you're right, that
blooper and I think there's that's the reason why he
ran like that because he thought it was He thought
it was that when he hits that blue When he
hits it, you can see his reaction. He just kind
of flings the bat down man and slow kind of jaws, like,
oh man, here we go again. But yeah, get a blueprint.
Had a chance to win that game last night, dad runners,

(43:28):
I had two runners on base when um uh, when
the game ended? How about the the leaning pitch when
a guy leaned in and made it kind of hit
his elbow and tried to take off the first base
like he got hit by a pitch. The young was
quick to be like, no, no, no, come back, come back,
get back here. That is the number one thing. Like
you know, you pick a team or you bet on
the team, and you're getting mad when things happening, when

(43:50):
things don't happen. That's when my number one irrational anger
is when I bet on the baseball team and the
guys who are in the batter's box to start getting
out of the way of balls that are gonna hit
him like below, Like that ball is gonna hit you
square in the butt. Dude, let you just lett man.
I get it, but this is so hard for me
to to like, I've never been in that position before.
I can only imagine balls hurdling at you. You can't

(44:12):
tell if it's a hundred or seventy five when it's
coming at you like that, and it's coming to hit
you right in the butt, you know, And I'm sure
it's gonna sting for him in but damnit, we need
base runners right now. We're down, want nothing. But now, uh,
with this, the Phillies have to have this feeling of
this team of destiny right now. Right this team was
so bad early in the season. Obviously they're not so

(44:34):
so bad. They're they're not pirates bad, you know, they're
they're not terrible, but they were. But they were so
bad that an announcer Keith and Nandeth said, I'm not well.
I don't want to watch their games anymore. It's literally
his job, he said. Defensively, they always disappoint and to
be fair, this is not a great defensive team. Now,
but you have to have this feeling of this team

(44:55):
of destiny because how else have you been able to
maintain this winning how else have you been able to
make taking this streak last? How about this? You wanna
talk about last guy in last guy? Uh, it normally
doesn't work that way. No, it doesn't. Also too, we
will be remissing we didn't mention Bryce Harper. You talk
about a guy man who was the number one overall
pick back in Io ten. I want to say I
might be a year off on that, but was you know,

(45:17):
was was in Washington and things that paying out free agency, right,
he leaves for three hundred million dollar plus as a
free agent, goes to Philly, wins an m VP, gets
hurt right on, gets hurt, and you think, man, here
we go again with Bryce Harper in the Philadelphia Phillies.
But comes back and it's just been on a tear
nlcs m v p UM. It just it feels like

(45:38):
he's fueling the rest of this lineup when they're when
they're not hitting well. When Bryce comes up, it's almost like, okay, man,
everybody pay attention, right. It's like with the Randy Ball
say on the on that one clip when he's like, oh,
I gotta watch this, man. That's Brett Farrve out there
when he got about the bed's like hold on, hold on, man,
I gotta watch this. That's Brett Farrville. It's like, oh no,
I gotta watch this back. This is Bryce Harper right now.

(45:59):
So kudos is shot off to him and the fact
that in Major League Baseball a lot of times we
lose sight of great players that don't make the postseason,
I might drought because they're not on the big stage
where we can see their greatness. Because most fans aren't
watching a hundred in sixty two games, So you gotta
get to the post season. Reggie Jackson, right, No, for
the postseason. Derrek Jeter is a legend. We know that,

(46:19):
but most of that comes from what the postseason and
what he's did. What he did for the Yankees in
the postseason. So that's the greatness that I want to
tip my hat too, that we're seeing with Bryce Harper
in the World Series. And to that point, you had
just talking about where your legends are made in the postseason,
you had an errand judge, who you broke the American
League record, actually not the actual homeworn record. But I

(46:40):
don't know say that, don't say that it's not no, no, no, no,
don't say what you just called it. I said he
broke the American League. Don't say that there's no such thing.
There is no there, there's somewhere out there, there's an
Eastern Conference scoring leader, like it just is what no,
what there is there is? There is the exists, Like
I'm not this is not for the baked is all

(47:00):
there is? There's a home run chip. Is he is
the American League home run champion? Stop? No, he's not.
He just hit a certain amount of home So who
is the American lea run There's no, there is no,
there's not. All right, Well, this is just a king
home king, the home run king. Alright, Judge, Aaron Judging
the American League home run champion, and then Barry Bonds
is the major league home run champion, which you can

(47:21):
have my what do you so? Do you so? Could
I get my point out about Aaron Judge not getting
it done in the playoffs? Are you gonna go? We're
gonna keep the banting about whether or not he's the
American League home run champion. I think that's more fun though,
because he is the American League home run champion. That's
the fact. That's the fact. I watched Old Mary, I
watched the whole marriage thing, and every time he hit
a home run, Barry Bonds got drifted through the mud

(47:42):
because Aaron Judge wasn't breaking the actual home run major
league record. That's a fact, but it was the American
league record. That's just an undisputed fact, which is the
fact that Also, you want to talk about why he's
getting booed in New York, it's because Yankees out there
getting swept while he had an amazing regular season. As
I was agreeing with you, lord that you people listen,

(48:02):
you're you're you're not agreeing with me. There's no such
thing in my book as an American league or National league.
So is there Eastern Conference scoring champions? Notice there's not
a there's not a Western Conference score hip. There's an
NBA scoring champion, if their NFC, Russian champion or a

(48:22):
f C chap Let me say, rush, let me tell
you something, at the end of the season, when everything
is over with, there's gonna be somebody on top of
the NFC and Russian yards and if he's gonna be
thecre leading in Russing yards. They only pushed that this year, Oh,
some real dog. They only push that on this year
to just try to get some Jews going about this
whole one change and to try to mess with my

(48:42):
man burry. And I'm not letting that. I'm not sorry,
that's not happening all my world. Okay, what you need
to do that is it acknowledged the fact that it
was the American League home run champions, there's no because
that's only half of the league. That's what you should
be doing instead of instead of sport though, So that's
not so don't mean nothing to me. We don't do
that with every sport. Somebody telling me who's the runner

(49:02):
up champion for Grand Slams in tennis? No, who's one
of the most Grand Slams. That's the record, that's the title,
that's the category we're not talking about. There are there
are two distinct divisions. The last let champion in NASCAR, guys,
there's not divisions in Nascar. It's one of the most
who's one of the most Nascar races? Thank you? Who's

(49:23):
got the most Daytona's who's not the most point championships? Like, so,
we're you talking about who has the most runs. The
answers Verry Bonds is that if there were divisions or
leagues or conferences and any of these other things, you
would have individual leaders of those conferences. Divisions are leagues,
Like I said, that's not happening. I don't want to.

(49:46):
It happens you want to. This is like people who
say they don't believe in premarital sex, like it exists.
Just because you don't practice it, it definitely exists. Okay,
I see evidence of it all around America. It exists.
But just because who don't want to practice it and
you don't believe in it, don't mean that it don't exist.
I can tell you I don't believe in gravity. But

(50:06):
when I jumped, I'm coming right back down. Well that
would I mean, come on, all right? No, no, no, no, no, no, no,
don't really know. I already know Damn bill On that
I already know bell On that gravity and premarital sex.
That's just like this just don't are just as real
as the person who had the most home runs in
the American League when it's all said and done, if
he had more home runs then the last person who

(50:27):
had the most runs in the American League, what it's
all said and done, just what he got the American
League home run record. I don't agree. I don't agree.
That's why what else would he have? That's what? Not? No,
he just went out. Okay, so you just rank all
the home runs and it's like, Okay, he hit the
fifth most home runs and his regular season, or he
hit the same we are we are ranking them. But
we're just ranking them by players in the American League

(50:48):
that season, and then you split up. Is that? Why
don't anybody ever says then that song's Barry Bonds the
home run king. Yes, okay, no, let me finish the question.
He's also the National league home No, no, no, don't
that's he is. No, he is Aaron Judge and it's
seventy five home runs this season. Guess what, he'd still
be the national league home run American League. But nobody

(51:10):
would say that. Nobody would say that. They would say
he was the home runkie. They would not know, they wouldn't.
We don't want to talk about what they are saying
right now, Martin. They are saying that Barry Bonds is
the home run leader in the American kidding me, man,
are you kidding me? Don't mean people all you know
what I mean? People say Mary's is the record. I
don't care with all those Barry Bonds and say, you
know what those people are. That's what I'm trying to

(51:34):
tell you. That's put up provement. You prove on my
point right there. So those are the people who want
to harp on American League home run champion because they
don't want to give credits to guys that hat all
runs five times more than Aaron Judge it. So let's
give him this little category here so we get this
credit the rest of his stuff that's not happening on
my watch. Is what I'm saying, Mike Drop, you got

(51:55):
South for that. I mean, it's just it's just I
don't know. I don't know how else to say. I know,
we're way past break. It's just you know what, I contend,
whoever has the most home runs and whatever lead, they're
going to be the champion. You can say it last.
That's all right. I wasn't first. I wasn't just that

(52:18):
that was my anchorman. That was my wrong. We can
agree on this coming forward. Look, the entire NFL right now,
just about it is under five hundred. Which one of
these teams do you think can make it run? We'll
get into that next. Hopefully there's no conferences in league's
divisions in that one. Fox Sports Radio, Fox Sports Saturday,

said the word parody to you, are parody, As Antonio

(53:03):
Brown said earlier today, He's like, it's a parent. I
can't even say the way. He like it's a parrot.
He's like, it's like a parade parody. Anyway, when I
say the word parody to you, what does that mean? Like,
what do you think of? Because I think of the
NFL schedule and the NFL rankings. No, man, when I
take a parody, I think of like scary movie and
White Chicks and dance Flick, like parody movies. Now, if

(53:25):
you want to talk about some sports wise and evenly,
I don't know about I don't know if there's parody
in the NFL's coudule. You would have to kind of
break that down from me how you're seeing that as
far as parody would go in the NFL. Because it
is now we are on Week eight and the only
matchup between two winning teams is the Giants and the Seahawks,
which means everybody has been beaten up on one another

(53:47):
so far to start this year, with the exception of
maybe three or four teams. Yeah, okay, so I guess
that would be parody, but I don't think the schedule
makers knew that would be the case and week hey,
but Tom Brady did say about three weeks ago, it's
a lot of it's a lot of bad football as
far as the NFL goes, man, it's a lot of
bad football being played. We're watching it, we're loving it,
we're doing our fantasy and we're talking about it already

(54:07):
on TV and stuff because that's what we do. But
I do agree with him. There is just a lot
of bad football. And as you said, was what is
only to two teams Giants and the Seahawks. That aren't
two teams under five hundred that are facing each other.
So I'm with you on that, man, But I don't
think the schedule makers new definitely be the case in
Week A. But so there are gonna be more teams
and besides the Chiefs, the Bills, you know, the Giants

(54:29):
of Vikings, Seahawks that are actual playoff contenders going forward, right,
But seeing as like I said, mostly the league's under
five huncause they've been beating up on each other, I
think it's a good time now, especially if you're a gamble,
to look at those future markets, but a good time
now to try to ascertain which one of these teams
is gonna make a run. VJ. I submit to you
the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are three and five, Atlanta Falcons

(54:51):
three and four, Commanders three and four, Packers, three and four,
forty Niners three and four, Cardinals three and four Raiders
to one for, and the Browns and the Steelers both
with two wins a piece. Out of those teams, which
one's do you think has a shot to go ahead
and and make a run here through the last ten
weeks of the season. I'll give you my ones that

(55:12):
are done. First, Brown's Steelers, Raiders done. Steelers horrible start,
they're just snake betting. Brown's no d watch till after
things giving Steelers it's just not their year, and they
got a rookie quarterback and they're best player Braining defensive
player of the year toward tour muscle. He's out. So
those teams are just done, so we don't need to
need to talk about those the Falcons and the Commanders.
The Commanders I like, I like, I like, I like Heinegee,

(55:35):
but they also have to still deal with the GM
in Philly and Dallas. So they're out Falcons, Court Mary
all this Stid the quarterback. They don't have enough weapons,
and they're in the NFC South, and I still think
that either the Saints are the Bucks are gonna win
that division. So the two teams that I think can
salvage everything and be okay that's under five hundred's gonna
be the Bucks and be the Packers. And probably self explanatory.

(55:56):
I think Brady he's still playing well. I I just
watched the film and just watch what he's doing. There's
other things around him going on. We don't have three
hash all that. And I feel the same about the Packers.
I think in the next few what maybe five weeks,
I think the Bucks could be six and eight, and
at that point you need two more wins to get
to five hundred and then another win from there to
be over the beginning and a and make the playoffs.

(56:17):
And I think the same with the Packers also too.
And I just look at kind of the next five
scared the next to five games each of them play.
The Bucks have the Rams, the Hawks at the Browns,
the Saints at the Niners a Cincy, right, so I
think that's three and three. I think they lose their Rams,
lose their Seahawks. I think they'll beat the Browns losing
the Saints, beat the Niners and beat Cincinnati. That would
make them six and eight. And with the Packers, they
have at the Bills at the lines, which I think
is a loss win home. It gets the Cowboys a

(56:39):
loss home, It gets the Titans a win at Philly,
loss home, and gets Chicago, which we know, uh Aaron
Rodgers owns them a win. That makes them six and
seven at at that point, you know what I'm saying.
So I think that they still those are the two
teams because of their quarterbacks and pedigree, and because of
the schedule that I see coming up in the next
four or five weeks. Those are the two teams out
of the ones that you named it. I think in
salvage this season. See this is what's tough about at

(57:00):
that Packers for me, the Vikings to meet at this
point are in the cat Birds to win then right,
so then you are now saying that in order for
the Packers or the Bucks to turn it around, the
Bucks have to win the South because I think that
your two your your wild cards where your wild cards
coming from? Right, one team is gonna win the NFC West, obviously,

(57:21):
one team is gonna win the NFC East. And then
so you would imagine out of Philly and Dallas and
New York at this point, whoever doesn't win the division
will likely be one of the two wild cards right now,
an NFC West, right. If Seattle keeps on like this,
with this stretch, they're gonna be in the playoffs, whether

(57:41):
it be a wild card as or as a division winner. Right,
forty Niners and the Rams. Rams will look bad. Obviously
we'll have a lot more clarity on that game came
Monday because they'll play that they play Sunday. But to me,
the team, I think it is pointed to make a
run right here out of all of these, the Atlanta Falcons, bro,
this is the division. You're gonna be able to win.
This the vision at nine and eight. Okay, you know

(58:02):
what the Falcons can do. And if you look through
the through line of the NFL right now. It's been
a whole lot of two high safeties. And I get it,
I'm no defensive coordinator, but essentially the league saw what
Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen and Aaron Rodgers and DeVante
Adams have been doing in the years prior and said,
all right, you're gonna have to beat us inch by
inch instead of taking miles with these big plays. Okay,

(58:25):
so what did Atlanta do? They run the ball, They
limit Marcus Mariota, and they don't have a great defense,
but the way they're able to maintain ball possession gives
me an idea that they're gonna be able to They
have been covered every game sept One this year, and
that means they keep games close. I like the Falcons here,
especially when you're looking at a division where, okay, you

(58:47):
got the Panthers who fired their coach and traded away
their best player and cman CMC right there. They they
essentially are mailing it in. Even I'm rooting for Steve
Wilson want to do well. Okay, you have the Saints
who have been as a mash unit of injuries, and
then you have the Buccaneers. Tom Brady notwithstanding, that's a
bad team. You say, you watched the tape, so you

(59:08):
saw in the red zone when Brady was trying to
get the you saw the false start that pushed them
back from the touch, and then before that it was
a delayed game back. And then he missed Rudolph in
the end zone. And okay, Brady missed Rudolf, but also
he's throwing a ball to Kyle Rudolph. Right, See, that's
another thing that would like, that's not Gronk out there,

(59:30):
and everybody who's clamoring for Gronk to come, right, it's
not even Cameron Braid right, Like, when you're looking at
these guys and he's got out there. Yeah, sure, Mike
Evans is out there, but Julio can't stay on the field.
We saw him get a little bit of run the
last time out. He's old. He's old. He's old. He's old.
He's been injured. Russell gauge Is is a number three, right,

(59:50):
He's got a lot of number three's out there. He's
trying to make it work. And again, this is not
the same Tom Brady. While he is still not while
he's not playing terribly right, he's not He's not the
old periods stop reason they're losing, right but they can't
stop the run, and this Atlanta team run the ball
down your throats. I think Atlanta has a great chance
to win the NFC South And if that's the case,

(01:00:11):
Tom Brads will be sitting at home. We'll see right now.
And they're the fourth seed, all right. So there are
three and four and these are numbers that I was
picking up and I pulled it up right now. The
Bucks are number thirteen in the NFC right now. Okay,
basically they would be the third team seed if you
seed it everybody and the Packers would be the ninth seed.
But that's gonna swap because they're gonna play Atlanta again
and Atlanta's kind of got some tough games coming up.

(01:00:31):
I just don't really believe in Marcus Mariota is your quarterback.
I don't believe they have enough weapons. Yeah, they can
run the football. They'll get Cordell Patterson back when they
put on the four to six week I R so
they'll be able to run the football. But at the
same time, just because they can run the football, that
mean they're gonna win games. They won some, they lost
some games that they shouldn't have UH lost, and they've
won some games that they probably shouldn't have won. I

(01:00:52):
see them as a seven and ten or eight in
UH eight and what would what would that be eight
and nine team? I I just don't believe that they're
gonna win that division. I still will put my money
and put my my chips on a guy I've seen
do it before. And I don't think they're a bad team.
I just think that's a narrative that's easy to create. No,
I don't. I don't think they're a bad team. I

(01:01:14):
don't think they're a bad team. The defense is still stout,
they got some injuries to their offensive line is decimated,
like real talk, their offensive line is decimated. They can't
run convened consistently because they don't have the the hog models,
the big uglies as Keith Jackson used to call them
upfront right now, that's a problem with that team. But
I do believe with more reps as guys play, you

(01:01:35):
can build camaraderie and you still have a leader in
Tom Brady regardless of everything that's going on around them.
So the Falcons, I'm just not gonna trust the Falcons
if they lose their three and five two, so they're
still tied. There would still be tied with the Bucks
while they have the ability to still win the division,
then still would be the Bucks. So I still think
it's the Uh, it's the Bucks and the and and

(01:01:56):
the Packers. But you saying the Falcons, I smell a
wing bat. Let's get to that after we get to
Steve and trending, because we can get down with that.
But I need to know what's going on in the
world of sports Michigan, Michigan States player right now, Steve,
give me good news, please arm and we got World
Series Game two on Fox TV as well. Houston, remember
had the big early lead and lost in ten innings
last night. Well, it's a big early lead for Houston tonight,

(01:02:19):
three nothing in the first against the Philadelphia Phillies and
starter Zack Wheeler. In fact, the World Series first three
straight doubles in the first inning for Houston to start
the game. They've also scored on an infield air with
two outs in the first inning, that throwing air by
Tonight's starting short stuff at Mundo Sosa. So three nothing
Astros over the Phillies bottom of the first inning. The

(01:02:39):
World Series is off tomorrow. It'll resume in Philadelphia on
Monday night. As for the college football, yes, we have
plenty of top twenty five action going on. Michigan State
one in three in conference is leading it undefeated and
fourth ringing Michigan seven three after the first quarter. Texas
A and m one in three in its conference at
home is leading Number fifteen Old Miss fourteen to seven

(01:03:01):
early second quarter. Tenth ranked USC has a seventeen thirteen
lead at Arizona late second quarter. At late second quarter
at number three Tennessee, the balls are up twenty to
six over nineteenth ranked Kentucky. Each team has missed an
extra point kick. Pitt has tied seven seven at number
twenty one North Carolina in the first quarter and coming
up in a couple hours the late game. Number twelve

(01:03:21):
U c l A host Stanford. Earlier it was number
one Georgia staying undefeated, beating Florida in Jacksonville forty two
to twenty. Number two Ohio State thirty one winners at
Penn State, TCU and Oregon got road wins, but not
number nine Oklahoma State. In fact, the Cowboys shut out
forty eight nothing at number twenty two Kansas State Louisville

(01:03:45):
for twenty one over a Wake Forest team that was
six and one this year, tied for number ten in
the A P Pole. Wake had eight turnovers and was
sacked eight times. As for a c C scores, well,
that's including a four overtime game. Today, Miami wins in
four ot s fourteen to twelve at Virginia and yukon

(01:04:06):
thirteen three winners against Boston College, which is just two
and six this year. Minute ago in the NBA game
at Sacramento and the Kings, with an owen four record,
are ahead of Miami one seventeen to one ten despite
thirty four points from Tyler hero nid third quarter the
Hornets at home League Golden State sixty seven to sixty.
If the Warriors lose this, they would be three and

(01:04:28):
three to start the season. There are seven games total
in the NBA, twelve games in the NHL, and we
do have NFL news is quarterback Ryan Tannehill and the
Titans is out for the Sunday game at Houston due
to illness as well as an ankle entry. Back to you, VJ.
That wing bet you were discussing with Willis, I'm sorry.
I just want to set up. Hey man, I am

(01:04:48):
hoping the best for you. Boom boy LEI I saw
in the preseason concerning Hi Man. The next thing mcnaire
just remember who said gard question Wayne, the one brought
in up wing back. Yeah, yeah, let's put a wing
beat on that. Man, Let's put a wing beat on
that you're taking. You're taking the Falcons doing the division,

(01:05:09):
and I'll take the Bucks alright, and then if the
Saints or the Pants that the Panthers somehow win, it
called called a push. Yeah, oh yeah, it's just a yeah,
it's only it's only just those two teams pound on that.
You know, VJ. Right now, we're ninety seconds away from
something monumental happening. Did you know that? Ninety seconds of

(01:05:29):
game time? So it's not actually gonna it's not gonna
happen in his actual segment, But Steve di Seger put
me onto this just now. The sacrament of Kings sixteen one,
sixteen to one, ten with left all right, if the
Kings win this game, you know what that means. There's
only one winless team in the n b A. I
said last day summer they should have traded him. Man,
he's listening just as fast as I can. I told

(01:05:52):
people all summer long, this is the year he didn't
tear that franchise down on the way out the door.
I'm telling y'all, man, this is not I thought they'd
be lucky to win forty. I told people they'd be
lucky to win the play to make the playoffs. And
I said that like in July, like dead Sarah. So
I gotta bet with a guy at work in my
day job. We're talking about the Los Angeles Lakers, in
case you're curious, and the Kings just extended that league

(01:06:13):
by one point to seven. Uh. I bet that after
Game one, I bet that the Lakers would lose ten
games before they won five. Okay, that was smart, though,
and that's smart. I mean, I'm in great shape with
that going forward. But let's go from that l A
team to another l A team. Interestingly enough, both of
which have recently won titles, and both of us don't
really feel like it right now when you look at

(01:06:35):
them play. But the Los Angeles rams off to buy
at the San Francisco forty Niners, who uh, you expect
to see a lot more Christian McCaffrey in the lineup
this week after he's been acquired. He was acquired last week.
Play what I think maybe twenty snaps. You know he'll
be going full time, especially because Deepo Samuel will not
be in this matchup. Excuse me, goodness, graces coming up

(01:06:59):
the wrong way anyway. Kyle Shanahan slices. Kyle shan InHand
has owned this matchup uh in years past, including this one.
The only one he didn't win was the one last
time when the when the Rams went and beat them
in the in the NFC Championship game UH VJ. This game,
I think is gonna be a major key because with
the way Seattle is moving, everybody on the planet had

(01:07:22):
the Rams and the forty nine is as the wild
cards out the NFC. Seattle says, not so fast, my friends. Yeah,
I listen, man, And you want to talk about a
team that's not a good team? The Rams to me,
when I watched them play and watch multiple games, that
is what I would look at and say, that's not
a good team. They have one guy you can really
get the ball to, and everybody knows Cooper Cup is

(01:07:42):
gonna get the ball and Cooper Cup is balling like
Cooper Cup is doing his thing right now, So I'm
not gonna sit here and try to bang on him.
He's doing his job. But everybody else man for the
Rams right now, the defense looks like it's got a
little Swiss cheese. And you know what I'm saying, they
can look like they can. They could be beat on
certain places. Jalen Ramsey and I love Jaylee Ramsey. He
doesn't look like the dominant corner. He's been up and

(01:08:04):
down this year like crazy. And maybe he got his
bread and they got a championship. And hey, some people
have what they call a Super Bowl hangover. It happens
boys and girls. So this is just a team that
I think, uh fits that bill. Now with the Niners,
I'm still trying to figure out who they are because
all I was told and all I heard on TV
and radio is their super Bowl ready team and Trey

(01:08:25):
Lance is holding them back. And now Trey Lance is out,
and you have Jimmy Garoppolo and and do you see
a Super Bowl ready team marking out of the San
Francisco forty Niners right now? Who went to Atlanta and
lost to your Yeah there your Falcons for the rest
of here, and lost to your Atlanta Falcons. Let's remember
that I also picked the forty Niners in the Ravens
to be the Super Bowl representatives from the Bowl, so

(01:08:49):
you know they could be my Falcons. But also but
in the forty Niners defense, of the eleven people they
had starting on opening Day, only two of them started
in that game. That I'm not saying, there's an easy
way to to see why that outcome was the way
that it was. Um But to me, I don't think

(01:09:11):
any of these teams. I put it like this, this
time last year, if you were saying, which one of
these teams look like the super Bowl contender, you would
a lot of people would have been talking about the
seven and one Arizona Cardinals, you know what I'm saying.
So at this point, that's the good thing about your
Super Bowl contenders right now, you don't need them to
look like super They don't have to because it's not yet.
Like now, once we get the Thanksgiving Christmas, there's only

(01:09:34):
really three true contenders right now to me anyway, so
I feel, but what you get to Thanksgiving, you Christmas,
that's when you can start to be like, okay, like
right now, we just did it a second ago, we're
over here picking you know who do you think who?
Who can you project the goal on the run? Right?
You know who do you think by Thanksgiving Christmas will
be in the mix with the rest of these guys.
That's where I'm gonna go on with that. But with
the forty niners and this and without Deepo Samuel, that's

(01:09:57):
gonna be tough. Yeah, a deep And I know that,
like we we have you and I this in our
short time doing the show together, it seems like I've
been more of a guy who evaluates the coaches when
you're more of a guy, is more of a Jimmy
and Joe's guy than the coaches guys. And so like
this Shanahan mcveig thing, I think is very significant in
the idea that you know, if you go back and

(01:10:17):
look the numbers, it is a it's a blood bath,
and he owns them, but he owns them. That team
without Deebo Samuel, just getting Christian McCaffrey into the flow
only been on the team for like thirteen days, ten days.
You know what I'm saying. That gives me big costs
for concerned because Deebo essentially is the car that makes

(01:10:39):
that the engine that makes that car go well. Another thing, too,
is I wasn't as high on the Christian McCaffrey trade
as a lot of other people were. And there were
some big name guys in our dentistry that I saw
clips on line and they they agree with me. Why
are they said the same thing that I said that
I don't think this trade is as big as people
thinking and think it is. I think he's a kid
that's hurt a lot. He's never gonna be the same aim,

(01:11:00):
explosive player that he was because once you start to
hurt those lower extremities, you just aren't. The human body
doesn't work that way unless you're gonna put something illegal
in or some type of uh surgery we don't know about.
Unless you're a mute and you're an X men, your
body just doesn't repair itself that way. You may be
healthy enough to play again, but you're never gonna be
the same player. And I thought that he quit on
his team in Carolina, and I know that's a serious charge,

(01:11:22):
but I just watched body language. That's fine, that's fine.
We made charges in this industry, is what we do.
I like to see some evidence. Happy put the film
on when you watch guys run, are you just watch
guy's body language? Body language tells me a lot. I
am never gonna ignore people's body language because your body
language you think you're hiding, and everybody who's smart enough

(01:11:42):
to pick it apart sees it. And body language to
me can say, okay, I you know I've had enough
of this. And I would blame him. I don't blame him.
You you're a guy that's been on that rule and
been on Carolina as far as everybody thinks, he's this, this,
this and that. And I'll give you that. You saw
the it in the world. I will give you that.
But at the end of the day, I also look

(01:12:03):
at the situation and go, yeah, man, but he's got
to start there that kind of you know, he didn't
really go out and put it all out there, and
you know for and he got his money right, so
he got paid. So it isn't like they're not paying them,
they're not treating him right. So I just didn't think
that the trade was as big as everybody else I
thought it was. But I'm with you. If no wants
some a demo, who wants some a debo? If you

(01:12:24):
ain't got you ain't got who wants some a debo,
You're just not the same team because he's that good
of a player. Who did you take somebody in this? Dude?
Are you put you put your picking for this one
already yet? Are you just kind of well no, I'm
not putting bread on it. I'm not. I mean, well,
you know, if both throws it out here, then I'll
pick it, sure, but I'm not. What do you think?
I think? I think the forty Niners that's come out here,

(01:12:45):
and I'm lean forty Niners. But again, that's that's more
with history, and that's more with that's that's with a
healthy debo. Debo scored a touchdown in every matchup since
he's been on the forty Niners. Against the Rams, Debo
scored a touchdown in those games. I think you can't.
You have to account for that. So ultimately, I think
it's gonna be a good game, and I think it's
gonna be a very very important game when it breaks

(01:13:07):
down to the NFC standings, because you know, VJ. I
know somebody's gonna win that thing and they're gonna go
to the super Bowl after that, and they're gonna be
deemed the NFC champion. I know, I know you don't
necessarily like the idea that there will be champions that
aren't Super Bowl champions, but he that that team will
be the NFC champion. Okay, cool, I'm glad we got

(01:13:27):
that figured out, all right. Coming up next, me and
VJ will tell you the underdogs that have a great
shot to win out right, all right, the Atomic Dogs.
Coming up next, Fox Sports Radio, coming to your live
from the Fox Sports coming to your life from the
tire rack dot Com studios. It's Martin and VJ on
Fox Sports Radio. There you go. That's how you say it.
And just like we always do every Saturday eight fifty,

(01:13:49):
it's time for the Atomic Dogs now be there. Most
of the time we try to do this with teams
that are over a hundred and fifty on the money line.
That means you bet one hundreds, you get one fifty
back plus your at But you know what Vegas said,
Martin b J. We don't give a damn what y'all
trying to do. There aren't that many options this week
because you know what I guess they said. You know,

(01:14:09):
we're sick of getting hose. Remember those lines of a
few weeks ago, four and a half, five and a half,
six and a half. Well, they're ancient history at this
point because right now everything is either below three or
above seven. So VJ. With that being said, who's your
first dog? My first dog? Man? I gotta rib with
my man J Fields and the Chicago Bears at a
plus three forty at Dallas. That nine and a half

(01:14:32):
is huge. The Bears played defense, Dallas can't score on offense.
I think that's a close, tight game. And j Fields
makes one or two plays in the fourth quarter to
get a road win. In Jerry's world, give me the
Bears at a plus three forty. You're going back to
back wins for the Chicago Bears last weeks. Last week

(01:14:53):
on JA, I don't know. I don't think you're a
video game guy, are you? Are you okay? You got
you got the new PlayStation, new exbody that'll still play
Superintendent okay, Supernintendent okay. So so you're not necessarily a
a current modern day video game guy. Call of Duty
dropped on Friday. Multiplayers out My Atomic Dog. This week,

(01:15:14):
the Arizona Cardinals and Kyler Murray gonna go ahead and
beat the Minnesota Vikings. Because here's the deal. Everybody thought
it was war Zone that drops. It's just a multiplayer Kyle,
you will be ready for this game if war Zone
had dropped to be a whole different story. I know
that everybody like above forty five doesn't play video games.
I have no idea what I'm talking about. Just take
the Cardinals on the money line versus the Vikings my

(01:15:34):
next one man, and for the third week in a row.
I told you they were going to go out to
London and beat the Packers. I told you they were
gonna win last week, and they're gonna do it again
this week. Give me the June you know, plus one
thirty at Seattle at three point spread. There, I like
what the Giants are doing, the light with dables doing
their win. They close games, They're holding people to eighteen

(01:15:56):
nineteen twenty points a game. Now Seattle can score and
Gino Smith I think is and is an untalked about
m VP candidate right now? Is he's top ten in
four quarterback categories. Give me the g man on the
road with that defense and say Kwa looking like he
want to get another contract man at the plus one
thirty doll I'll tell you what I thought my Geno
Smith for Comeback Player of the Year ticket that I
got a week two was good value. The Geno Smith

(01:16:17):
RMVB ticket is shrinking and shrinking by the second as
this completely upside down league continues to stay upside down
with teams that are supposed to be bad who are
actually good? The New York Giants, the Seattle Seahawks. What
are we doing? But he can't argue with the results
now for this this is uh, this dog right here,
Oh man, this dog right here. I don't know if

(01:16:39):
this dog gonna bark. I mean, look, hey, what, as
George Clinton would say in a national doll, I'll take
in the Denver broadcast, Mr hydez himself, he look, hey,
I heard all he was doing on the flight was
watching take getting this everything in order, going doing nothing

(01:17:00):
down for everybody else was sleeping. So you know what
that means. That means both his teammates are well rested
and that hamstring is ready to go. Give me the
Denver broders that Daniel Hackett lives for one more weekend.
Did you see the mean with Carmelo when he was
on the Team USA flighting That one me where he's
just sitting there staring at him, and they're like, uh,
such a such time to get sleep on the plane
on flight in London because Russell Wilson doing he's in

(01:17:23):
the damn. I'll give me a break, man, my dog
right here. Man. I always want to give love out
the people. That's just what I'm about. I'm about love.
I deflected to get negativity and hate. Man, So I'm
gonna get some love back to the DNV and a
lot of friends back home. Man, and I'm missing I
love and I grew up with that. A commander fans man.
We used to call the resk, but the commanders now
give me the commanders on the road. At the coach
ellenjer quarterback for a second year. A guy out of

(01:17:44):
Texas is gonna be the starter. Matt Ryan. Maddie Ice
has been benched. There hasn't been a sighting of Jonathan
Allen doing this Jonathan Tael, excuse me doing this thing?
This year? It so to two and a half points
prep but it's a plus one twenty five for the commander.
I like Einechy and I like the way this defense plays. Man.
Give me eina key on the road for another dog
like I don't. I don't hate it, but I definitely
don't love it. I mean, I was sitting there. They're

(01:18:05):
gonna win. Just Heineke, Heinecke, Taylor, Heineke. That guy, he's
a madman. He's a madman in the worst and best
sense of the way. Like when he's talk about like,
let's talk about a gun slinger quarterback, like he's a
gun slinger. He's just his gun is not like, you know,
the gun of bread far lasers. I'm not gonna lie.

(01:18:28):
I don't have any more dogs that you give me
the rams. Give me the rams on the plus one
oh five also too, I know you said that you
think you like the Niners here, but when no who
wants some adebo Just give me the rams. It's only
a one and a half. It's to pick them button.
They're still the underdog. Go ahead and give me that
one there too. Anybody dare take the Packers? Not Martin, Okay,
not Martin? Alright. I I am of the belief that

(01:18:50):
that thing is cooked, really freaking seed fried, well done,
Brown's plus three off the boiler, damn it. That's how
I feel about the Green Bay Packer. What about browns
on a plus three and a half plus one sixty.
I know their home against the baby but no, but
no Ja Marchast. But I'll tell you this. Somebody has
told me on Twitter every single week when I do it,
it's three weeks in a row. Bet against the Bengals.

(01:19:12):
Three weeks ago off lost wo Bengals have been cooking
recently the Giants right now, Jihants got four in a
role for me right now, Bro, Like you know, it's
hard to argue, It's very hard. It's very hard to argue.
Coming up next we will get into some of these
struggles at Brady and Brady Rogers, having Broncos and London,
Fox Sports Radio, Fox Sports Radio. That's right, Martin and VJ.

(01:19:34):
Coming to you live from the tire iraq dot com studios.

thirty one million dollars in persons and awards. Visit the
Breeders Cup dot com to watch all the action live.
November four and five, b J. I've come to realize
something about Russell Wilson, and it came on the heels

(01:20:15):
of of his report of doing high knees and on
on a transatlantic flight. Okay, the thing about Russe's Russ
says the things about himself that everybody else should be
saying about you. That's what it is. That's really all
it is. And I realized it is. You know, if
you go back and look the flight, the question is

(01:20:38):
how of the flight? Okay, Russ somehow finds a way
to answer that in an entire paragraph. But where it
really comes into questions when he says he didn't just say,
you know, the flight was good. The flight was good.
You know, no terry bulence, are a little bit of
shakes over the Atlantic. But we made it here in
one piece, right, yeah, yeah, yeah, you know the in

(01:20:58):
flight the in flight service was to pack tacular. He
goes and says, he starts out, well, I don't get
jet lagged. Yes you do, Yes, you do, Russ, you
do get jet lack. You know why you know why
rust get jet lag because everybody in the world gets
jet legged. I don't care much money you got or
how brokey are. If you can get up on a

(01:21:18):
plane and travel for six halven hours, you're probably gonna
have some effects of jet lag, especially VJ if you
stay to wake the whole time here on the plane
now doing knees and so like, here's the thing, there's
one there's there's one era of this that is like
the ultimate leadership, right, like a guy who's doing around

(01:21:39):
the clock rehab to make sure that that he's ready
to go and able to play. But the thing about rehab,
it's done in the dark quote unquote. No one is
watching you rehab. There's not live streaming your rehab or
there's not they're not running ad breaks during your rehab peers,

(01:22:00):
So no one is seeing you as seeing how hard
you work. All that we see is what happens on
the field when you get back out there. But not
Russell Wilson. Not Russell Wilson, because the last two years
he's missed with injury, we have had been updated on
his recovery. I mean, do you remember that Monday night
deal where he's going and he's running a fake two

(01:22:20):
minute drill without a football down the field like pregame,
like I mean, I mean, okay, dude, like that all
the little media fan boys love doesn't look how dedicated,
Look how dedicated he is. He's out there with no
football and he's out there. But the thing, the thing
that's wild about it is like when Dad does his
little hit Dan frut team okay to loosen his hips up,

(01:22:42):
and he was doing that, and even when he was hurt, right,
he was doing that. But everybody else is warming up
to everybody else is out there warming up, and Russ
goes out there and runs just fake two minute drill
in Seattle, and he's clapping his hands, makeing sure he
mrs is broken thumb. Nobody's there but the fans in
the pre game, just like everybody was asleep on quote
on this trans atlantic flight in which he was just

(01:23:03):
working so damn hard to get back and ready for
this London game four. It's hard to believe because he's
the only one that's telling us what happened. And it's
just also convenient that Jerry Judy and Bradley Chubb and
kJ Hamler and Courtland Sutton were soaring as he's doing
his high knees up and down the aisle. Come on,
do you know who Russell Wills? I'm gonna have fun
with this because I've banged on him enough. People know

(01:23:25):
by now how I feel about him. I'm gonna have
fun with this. You know what he reminds me of.
He reminds me of the person that you meet you
start dating that's very successful and they have like their
master's degree, and they have a corporate job, and they
make good money, and there and there in shape, and
they look good and they have a nice circle of
friends do all hang out with. But every time you

(01:23:45):
get around them, it's loved me, except me, care about me?
Like he wasn't hugged and loved and kissed enough when
he was a kid growing up. There wasn't a lot
of I love yous in the home. There was a
lot of discipline and a lot of rules and a
lot of standards and a lot of manners and all
that good stuff where most time, all your child really

(01:24:05):
needs from you. And I noticed as a dad is
your arms around them and kissing and hugging on them
and telling them I love you, I appreciate you, I
care about you. I'm gonna be here forever. I ain't
going nowhere. I know that as a dad. When you
don't get that, though, you're turned into a grown man
like Russell Wilson, who needs it from everybody else because
he's missing something somewhere where he wasn't told he was

(01:24:28):
loved enough and hugged on enough, and kissed enough and
pampered enough and read bedtime stories and whatever else is
out there that he's missing. So he's got to do
things like this, and you just put the spotlight on it.
Always pay attention to who needs the who's trying to
convince themselves over Convincing you is by how they answer

(01:24:49):
your questions. All you have to do is listen. My grandmother,
the Great Airby Speriman, once told me, the Lord gave
you two eyes, two ears, and one mouth. Which ones
do you think you should be using more your ears
and your eyes? Because you got more than him than
your mouth. And if you just listen to watch people, don't.
If you're just listening to watch your us, he'll tell
you exactly who he is. Part of the thing is

(01:25:11):
too His career in the first say, four years, was
setting up for him to be one of the all
time greats, because I bought that, all right, So just
just hold on, I got you. Hold on, Just wait
a second, because you have to win early in order
to have the longevity to even come close to sniffing

(01:25:34):
somebody like Brady. Right, you're not gonna win seven super
Bowls after your sixth or seventh year in the league, right,
you gotta get some in your first, second, third years.
So that's why people look at a guy like Joe
Burrow who's in his third year and saying he's trending
that way, because the only way that you can trend
I'll put it like this, everybody else isn't right now,

(01:25:57):
like like all the other who lost was in that
class too, justin Herbert uh and want to can go
further baby Baker Mayfield, Uh say Burrow. Burrow has made
a super Bowl, so he's like in that first three
year period. But even Josh Allen, Right, even Josh Allen,
for all the success he's having a regular season so far,

(01:26:18):
he's not sniffing that. You have to win early to
be able to get into that into that conversation, like
in order to be able to know what I'm saying
like Brady got his first to a few years early
in his career. Then he took a minute, he took
a break, then he went back, and then he got another,
and he got another one in Tampa. But it's you
got You're not gonna go like five in a row,
six in a row, seven in a row. You gotta

(01:26:40):
spread it out a little bit. But he never went back.
And then the way that they lost that Super Bowl
with being the interception, right, and you got uh that
he threw that he threw, and and I got it
on good authority that it was a different play coming
down from the It was a different play calls. When

(01:27:00):
they went on the sideline, they went to go huddle up.
It was a new play. Got to be the start, Okay,
I just I don't know where. I can't also know
what happened. All I know is whatever they talked about
on the sideline in Seattle that Super Bowl time out,
that's not what happened on the next play when they
came out when Russell Wilson through the interception. So I

(01:27:20):
think that he's still but he still kind of operates
like he should be in that boat. Like again, I
know Brady is not I don't even like Brady. But
you go back to what Brad. The way Brady talks,
he don't talk like this. It's like he don't but
in part because he's saw Brady and this is Russell Wilson,
and it's like he's not gonna get that. There's a
reason why he had never got an MVP vote. And
everybody's like, how could this happen? Well, there you go

(01:27:43):
and watch exactly. I always bring that up to when
people go, man, he's never got an m v P boat.
That's because the people that vote for m v P
have ears where most fans don't have ears. We have
eyes where most fans don't have eyes. We hear and
see things I heard about Russell Wilson through you know
some of v A players. I ain't gonna put new
names out there that was on that roster and circles

(01:28:04):
that I know, and circles that I trust. I don't
call them sources, circles of people that I trust. I
heard about that dude, man, and I'm like, yeah, he
kind of comes off is that he kind of seems
like that type of guy. And then fast forward and
here we are. I don't understand how this is such
a surprise. We have to stop watching social media and
listening to certain people. If you have a really popular

(01:28:24):
person stand on the soapbox day after day after day
after day after day and tell you how great somebody is.
It's like political news. I don't watch any news. People go,
you don't watch the news. No, I don't watch the
news because if you're sit and watch it every night,
you're gonna believe everything that's on it, because that's what
it's supposed to do. It's called television programming for a reason.
It's to program you don't think, can't program you in sports.

(01:28:44):
That's why I love sports. Everything else is meant the
program you. Sports have meant to entertain you. And I'm
an entertainer and not like being entertaining and entertaining people.
So if you pay attention to the programming, the programming is.
We're all supposed to love this guy. You just said
it yourself. He was on some type of, in my opinion,
some fake ascension to being one of the all time greats.

(01:29:04):
I've seen him before. His name was Mike Vick, and
Mike Vick was way better. So it wasn't a guy
that I could look at and be like, oh my god,
he's gonna be a great wall. Hold on, bro, you
ain't even better than some of these other dudes that
we're still debating on whether they're great Hall of famers
or not. Let's pump the brakes. But if you get
enough promotion and the up marketing behind it, it makes it.
It brainwashes people. And that's what's happened with Russell Wilson. Dude.

(01:29:26):
I am laughing my behind off watching the Broncos season
and the Laker season because I'm the type of guy
that if I was saying it years ago, I'm sorry
people don't like it, I'm probably gonna come back years
later and saying, yeah, you guys are late. I was
kind of saying this a while back because I try
to stay away from the brainwashing. So this is what

(01:29:46):
you have today. Man, Like I said, I ain't gonna
I'm a clown it now now it's funny to me.
Now it's funny. They're gonna go lose, They're gonna be
two and six, and you're everybody's blaming Hackett. Man. Everybody
had Hackett blamed opening Monday Night, and I think that
is really I think it wasn't made up like we
watched the game and he attempted the second longest field
and what did I say? And why did why didn't

(01:30:08):
he go for it on fourth and five? Because he
did not trust his court If you know what he
should have did, he should have lost like that instead
of losing by kicking the second long field call. And
then if in the hands of my guy, you don't
trust it looked, Hey, he's not the one that signed
a contract, he's not the one that paid him all
that money. Look, do you know what everybody else said
around him? It is just as the guy who's supposed

(01:30:28):
to trust I would have turned back to him, and
you know what he did? He and only thing you
had his credit. It's gonna be a very short coaching
career for him. Probably more than likely it's gonna be
a grand opening, grand clothing type of situation. But he
got a minute to get his licks and and said,
you know what, I can't remember after a primetime game
with it was after the Thursday night game. But he's like,
you know what, you know what, Look, I get it
all the us. He turned it over. That was when

(01:30:49):
they be the call. He turned it over. He told
he just having to step on Gilmour. I don't know
what you want me to do there, but I wouldn't
gonn kick another the field, go after the way. I'll
read me the right away. Your guy's bulleted me into
coming out the next day and going if I had
to do it all again, And you and I talked
about that on our first show, where I said, no, dude,
you take that to the grave. You ride with your decisions.
I am not big on coaches coming out and saying
we should have done this now. If you want to

(01:31:10):
give me some half as excuse and analytics like Hardball
did against the Bills, if you even want to do that,
I'm not gonna agree. But at least you're at least
you're dying on your decision. You're standing on your listen
speaking of Baltimore. YadA YadA. That's why we did it.
If it's a lie, we fight on that lot. We
we fight on that lot. If it's a weight on

(01:31:31):
that or like Mark Tommy from Martin, keep the lie alive.
She's gotta keep the lot a lot. It's straight do
the chair. Not that they're out there calling us some
punk as words in the streets with it. You know,
we fight on that lot. But I do feel bad
for hacking because, like I said, I think that night
and see that's that's the that's been the media love

(01:31:51):
for us is that we know he's not the same guy.
But we gotta find somebody else to blame because we
all love the guy so much. It's gonna make us
all look stupid. The new coach right there. Yeah, he
should done this, He should have done this. He should
have done this, He should have done this. And I
was one of the guys that came out said, guys,
he didn't give him the ball. Did you watch the
previous three and a half, three and three quarters of
the game. Russell Wilson did nothing, guys, So why would

(01:32:11):
he give him that opportunity to know, I'm gonna try
to kick it? And the kick had the distance. It
was just wide right, So let's not act like the
ball didn't get there. He made the right call the kicker,
kicker the kick or miss the kick. Me if if
it was short, you would have validity in it. It
wasn't short though he hadn't. It didn't go in, and
we know that. I don't know what I'm saying. If
it doesn't matter if it was shorter, if it was

(01:32:32):
left or was off the crossbar, if it could hit
the crossboard. It's sat there for a minute. They don't say, okay,
so then don't say he attempted his kicker the longest.
Don't don't the longest in there there, don't throw that
part there. It wasn't it was the second longest if
it was short though, saying the longest, Martin to me
gets that, Okay, yeah, he missed it, like he missed it.

(01:32:54):
That that's the matter, is he missed the second longest,
Like whether okay, now do this and I hate to
be this and I made Still we're saying that, we'd
be saying it was gutsy. We'd be saying it was
a god, would be saying it's the wrong call. I
don't know who we is. I'm talking to you, not
everybody else. We is who I don't know who he is.
I am saying that it would have been the wrong

(01:33:16):
call even if it had gone in and evidence by
the fact that it's no one else has done it.
And I'm not saying that like that's the ultimate reason.
But there's a reason why no one else is attempting
sixty four yard field goals to try to win the game.
Unless it's justin Tucker. There was more time, you know
what we want to talk about. There was more time.

(01:33:36):
That wasn't That wasn't the end of the game. That
was there was time left on the clock after that,
like he had more opportunities to get closer. That's the
whole point of what they're talking about. It was like
twenty some seconds. Like it was like twenty some seconds
that was. It was under half a minute left and
is that that time? How long is it they want
to play in the NFL? Four seconds like that though,
So they even had to get the first down. He

(01:33:58):
didn't trust his quarterback, So get up okay that night
and that's and if you're gonna lose, you should have
lost like that. Now one team that's losing right now.
And I don't know if they feel like they're losing
the way they thought so, because when you signed a
guy to the type of contractor that the Kawhi Leonard
get signed too, I feel like you think he's gonna
be out there. We'll get into that. More disappointments in
the NBA next Martin and VJ Fox Sports Radio coming

(01:34:19):

He's had several surgeries and as Bowl uh superproducer has
said to me several times today and played less games

(01:35:01):
and while angele listen, Anthony Davis, so close, street close.
I'm gonna tell you right now, man, I'm gonna front.
I'm tired of him and I've been to supporting them,
but I've been I've been turned off by this this year.
I'm turned off of Kawhi Leonard. And I've always rode
with Kawhi Leonard and supported Kawhi Leonard all the way
back to a San Antonio Spurs day's winning finals MVP.
But if you if this is going, if this is

(01:35:21):
what you're gonna be, man, they just come out and
just and let it be known that this is what
he is now, I think I think kind of stringing
just everybody along like this, it's classless. It's classless to
do man. If in sports and competition. I understand you
want to get an upper hand. I understand you don't
want to give out the scouting report. We can't. We can't,

(01:35:42):
you know, spy on people's practices. But I remember a
day in high school when you played football. Each coach
sent the next coach. They're playing their game film from
the way you would exchange game film, so I see
exactly what you like to run and what type of
formation you want to It's right there in front of us.
If Kauai is it is gonna be this guy, then
let's just let it, let it, let it be known.

(01:36:03):
Stop that he's announced out tomorrow. They don't even play
the night. They've already said he's gonna sit. I guess
ahead of time because I agree. I think at least
I said in a situation that I don't like, I
like the fact they're announcing it now because let's if
y'all not gonna take it seriously, why should I, Right like,

(01:36:24):
if you're like they're not taking why should I messing
on my beds, messing on my picks? Man not playing?
Come on, you know, it's just but I do like
loads management and all this and that, Like people are
gonna get hurt playing sports. It's what happens. It's a
physical game all. It doesn't matter which game. They're all physical.
They all have contacts. Even in baseball, they have contact.

(01:36:44):
You know, guys missing months in baseball, right like you know,
so it's like, you know, and they're not even wearing
pats or anything like that. There's no attention for it.
Right in basketball there's fouls. Baseball ain't no foul because
he's running into somebody. But it's slide wrong. Next thing,
you know, tweaked the need picture picture throws wrong. Abdomen
abdomen strain out twenty one days, thirty days. Let me

(01:37:07):
let me ask you, Let me let me propose a
question to you with this, with this whole load management
and and players sitting out in Nikauaii, thing logically biologically
and scientifically, if you sit out a lot, don't doesn't
that make you more prone to small, nagging injuries instead
of always playing, always having your body in a rhythm.

(01:37:29):
Don't you think you would you would get hurt more
if you're sitting now every two games or every three games,
I mean, logically would make sense. But also like it
makes sense that you can you will get hurt playing basketball.
It's hard to get hurt not playing basketball, right. So,
But but at the end of the day, like the
topic that I feel like we should be discussing here

(01:37:51):
is not your availability, Like it's it's your like are
you demanding that you want to play? Do you want?
Like I think the question is really is like does
he have this intense desire to do so? Is he's
out here getting the check? Because I'm not trying to
say that he's not, you know, not out working hard,
rehabbing or whatever. But like, and again, like I just
said with Russ, we don't see what happens in the

(01:38:12):
rehab process, right, I've never like you saw Clay Thompson
after Charles Barklins that he's not the same player, Clay
Thompson saying it hurt because you know, I want a
lot of work in to get back here, and and
I put it and so I'm not downplaying that it's
hard to come back from injury. But what I what
doesn't seem to make sense is either you're hurt or
you're not right. And so like, either you have something

(01:38:33):
that's gonna be bothering you and you're gonna be able
to have to that's just either you can play with
this or you can't. So like the whole up one up,
one day, down the next that it's the ultimate jerk around.
That makes no sense to me. Well, a famous movie
line from the Program, which is the top five football
movie of all time. I'll fight anybody that says different.
You're either injured or you're hurt. If you're hurt, you

(01:38:56):
can play. If you're injured, you can't. So if you're injured, Kauai,
then just sit down and don't play. But if you're
hurt and I don't think he's hurt, what's the what's
the list of is a knee injury, um rest or
something at the official designation? From just crazy? I mean,

(01:39:16):
I just with the thing and the thing that gets
me is is okay, look just look at the two
and question that boy had brought up earlier. Anthony Davis
in kauaid all right, Anthony Davids gets but he gets
his knocker being street closed, and and he gets his
knocker being unavailable. He says he's gonna play all eighty two.
He sits out last night. Right there, there are four
games into the season. Anthony Davis. Is this a guy

(01:39:38):
He's not gonna play every day? Right, He's gonna get
these knicks, He's gonna have this. But you know what
he does after he's rehabbed, He gets out there and
tries to make it go like that Phoenix hurt the
other night. You can he heard his back game and
and miss game four right, like he heard his back
in the second game this season when he came down
on the scale bone right and saw him kind of

(01:40:00):
gut it out. I have a lot more respect for
a guy who will just shut it down, rehab and
get right before you do this up and down? Up
and down? Do you love me? You love me? Now?
Are you're playing? I'm not playing because ultimately it's the
everybody else's job around you. If you're the best player
and you're hurting to pick you up for that period
of time. Yeah. But and here's the thing with a D.

(01:40:22):
A D had to play. See there's see, there's the difference.
Kauai doesn't have pressure on him to not sit out.
A D has the pressure on him that he's got
a gut out, a bruce tailbone, a twisted knee, a
slightly poured hamstring or groin. Whatever he goes through this year,

(01:40:42):
he's got a gut out. Most of it. He sat
out at Denver, And I think that's also to the
altitude we talked about that during break that teams just
kind of run out of gas. They the Lakers were
in that game at about the seven eight minute market
the third quarter. I actually had to lead three out
of lead in that game. But a D sit in
that game out made a lot of sense to me.
He has to say he's gonna play a D two right,
because you gotta we gotta hear it. We gotta hear

(01:41:04):
him say, we gotta. A D has already been called
street closed by Charles Barkley and made fun of all
over social media. So I think a D gutting it
out has to I don't think Kauai would get anything
out right now. And that's the part I have a
major problem with because they were once talking about this
guy supposedly being better than Lebron, and I'm not a
Lebron guy at all. But one thing I never said

(01:41:24):
is that was better than I would tell you. Bro, Listen,
you don't have to like Lebron. But let's not get stupid, Okay,
Kawai Leonard is not better than Lebron James. And that's
that's that's starting to show Lebron Lebron don't look the same.
And at least he's showing up and playing every night.
The last, the last point that I'll steal from Bow
on this one. Kawai Lennon made his stardom in places
that basketball is not on the is not on the

(01:41:44):
grand scale. He went to San Antonio, went to Toronto,
and he went to the Clippers. If he had done
any of this with the Knicks, seventy Sixers, Celtics, Lakers,
the Celtics, we'll be looking at an entirely different story.
But right now, I want to know what's going on
in the world of sports. Steve Sager, Steve what's trend?
Hello once again, and we'll to look at the NBA

(01:42:06):
scoreboard while we're at it. Golden States losing in overtime
about a minute ago. In the ot Hornets one sixteen,
one thirteen in the lead, Steph Curry with thirty one
points at the Warriors lose, they'll be just three and
three on this season. Sacramento was oh and four but
got a win tonight over Miami one thirteen. The heat
folded two and five. The Nets are one and four
and losing it home with under six minutes left. It's

(01:42:28):
Pacers one twelve, one on one in the lead at
Brooklyn despite thirty one points from Kyrie Irving and in
the third quarter, Milwaukee at four no is winning again
seventy seventy one over the Hawks. Now. Game two of
the World Series is on Fox TV right now. Top
seed Houston scored three runs in the bottom of the first.
They're up three nothing on Philadelphia, top of the fifth
inning right now, with from Bert Valdez on the mound.

(01:42:50):
He was seventeen and six in the regular season. Zach
Wheeler was the Philly starter. He allowed three straight doubles
to begin the game and the three runs in the first.
The World Series is off tomorrow. It'll resume in Philadelphia
on Monday Night. Titans quarterback Ryan Tannehill is out for
Sunday at Houston due to illness as well as an
ankle injury. Rookie Malik Willis will start. He got all

(01:43:11):
the starting reps at practice this week. And now to
college football, where Tennessee, ranked third in the country, is
dominating nineteen rank Kentucky thirty to six. In the third quarter,
Hendon Hooker with two touchdown passes. He's fifteen of twenty
a hundred sixty eight yards so far. Number ten USC
leads sixteen at Arizona. In the third quarter, USC quarterback

(01:43:34):
Caleb Williams with three touchdown passes and by the way,
pack twelve refs truck again with another horrendous call, with
USC being unable to spike the ball even though they'd
driven down to the Arizona ten in the final minutes
of the first half. Final seconds the referee stood over
the ball while the last five seconds ran off the clock.
They didn't really spot it, and half was over and

(01:43:56):
the teams ran off the field, and believe me, the
USC coach and right at the officials and let him
have it. But nothing changed. SC has scored in the
second half to up the lead to twenty four sixteen
halftime at number four Michigan, it's Wolverine's thirteen seven over
Michigan State. Blake coreum On thirteen carries seventy six yards
rushing for the Wolverines in the first half. Early third

(01:44:17):
quarter Texas A and M at home is still leading
number fifteen Old Miss fourteen to ten, and late second
quarter pit ahead at number twenty one North Carolina seventeen
fourteen in an hour the late game with number twelve
U c l A hosting Stanford right now on FS
one going to five and oh apparently in the Mountain
West Boise State leading forty two ten over Colorado State

(01:44:38):
in the third quarter, Coastal Carolina trying to go to
seven and one. It leads ten at Marshall in the
third quarter. Earlier wins in the top ten today for
Georgia and TCU for Oregon and Louisville. That Oregon win
was forty two twenty one at cal and Oregon's quarterback
bo Nicks the first player in three years in college
football to have this in game, not only four hundred

(01:45:01):
yards passing and at least three t D passes, but
also at least three t D runs. Yes, he had
all six touchdowns total for the Ducks in this game.
And Kansas State ranked twenty two, beat up number nine
Oklahoma State forty eight nothing, while Louisville at home defeated
code number ten Wake Forest to one. That ties for
the cardinals second largest win against any AP ranked opponent

(01:45:25):
awake with eight turnovers in the game. Notre Dame won
at Syracuse. Central Florida scored late to beat Cincinnati Missouri
one at South Carolina. Back to you all right, Steve,
thank you, We're I've coming to you live from the
tire rack dot com studios as Martin and VJ and
the Breeders Cup World Championships are coming to the iconic
Keenland November four and fifth. Don't miss the world's best

(01:45:49):
thoroughbreds race for their share of thirty one million dollars
in persons and awards. Visit the Breeders Cup dot com
to watch all the action live on November fourth and fifth.
VJ Really quick man, just offer some of the scores
and just some of the stuff. Steve the Staker just
hit us with if the nets lose the night and
they dropped the one in five. We need to just

(01:46:09):
stop making fun of the Lakers and talking about the Lakers,
and also put some spotlight on this NET squad to
man Kyrie's doing his thing, Guys like where's Kevin Durant,
where's the rest of his team? Why don't I hear
people saying the Nets need more help? Why don't you
want to see? Why don't you be the change you
want to see? Instead of asking why don't you see? People?

(01:46:29):
We're here, we have a radio station right here. You
have your microphone, baby, use it. I am using it.
I'm just need the change you want to see. My friend, No,
I don't know. I like to be in I like
being the vj A now um, But no, the Nets,
I think we need to really start to discussing some
of the problems and what's going on here. But also too,
do you feel a shift in the NBA. You look

(01:46:51):
at some of the big look at the big dogs
right lebron K d I'm going there looking at the
MB Joe l m b right hard and on the
team there two and four. They're tied up right now
with the Bulls. But some of the guys right now
of the of the of the Kings of Kings have
past is the one I'm saying. I'm not saying. I'm

(01:47:14):
saying of the guys who in the last five years
have been in the conversation, that's the new age guys.
That's that's Luca Uh. That's to me, that's Luca jah Uh.
Like you just said, it's yeah, it's their leading now.
And the records and that's what I was pointing at.
Their records are reflecting and feeding. Excuse me. The Grizzlies
are at four and one. The Bucks haven't lost even

(01:47:35):
the let's throw Tray Young in there. Trey Young's in
that in that category with that crowd of stars to
their four on one. So the reason why I'm saying
is I'm just pointing out the guys that were in
that era that we've been arguing about. We just talked
about Kauai, right, he won't even play Kevin Durant on
the team. Looks like that's about to be one and four.
He probably don't want to be traded. They're gonna lose Kyrie,

(01:47:55):
even even Staff, even stuff, and I love Stuffs, that's
my guy. But if they lose the night, their three three.
But you look at some of the young the young
guns man are are holding their teams. I'm still not
all in on Luca like most of you are. I
still got questions about Luca. But everybody else Man Boston,
there's another squad, Tatum, There's another squad that's doing really well.
So you're starting to see this shift here. But the Nets,

(01:48:16):
I mean, it's it's it possibly could be a changing
of the garden and football as well. Do you have
Brady on a three game losing streak, Rogers, I mean,
Brady on a four game losing streak, Rogers on a
three game losing streak, and and and then. I don't
know about you, VJ, but if you predicted this ahead
of time, you'd be a rich man. The New York

(01:48:37):
Giants and the Seattle Seahawks are not the top of
the Seattle's the top of the division, the Giants second place.
But the only reason Giants in the second police because
Philly hasn't lost yet. Yeah, exactly exactly, So, I mean,
but they have Jalen Hurts. The Giants have Daniel Jones.
I'll put it to you like this right now. The
combined win total between these two teams is ten. The

(01:48:57):
Giants have six the Seahawks have four. If you had
asked almost everybody in football America in August, they might
have said it would have took both of these teams
two years to get the ten wins. And both of
them are come on, both of them right now are
tracking to be on that page? You know what I'm saying?
Like they're tracking right there. Which of these two surprise

(01:49:18):
upstar teams do you feel like and obviously they face
off this weekend? Which someone do you feel like? It's
more for real Seattle? Seattle because they have the better
quarterback and Dable. I understand they're their five and one,
and everybody loves Dable right now are our six and one?
Whatever their records, But I we know what Pete Carroll is.

(01:49:39):
We know what Pete Carroll is gonna do. We know
Pete Carroll's history of winning as a head coach, whether
it be college, whether it be NFL. We're only have
almost half a season's taste of what Brian Dable is
as a head coach. We know what he is as
a coordinator and as a position guy. We know that, Okay,
he's got that nailed down, but the jury is still out.
What are you as a head coach, because if this

(01:50:00):
all like goes on, what are they gonna slide if
he pulls a Kingsbury? Yeah yeah, what if they? I
tell you, man, whatever that guy did to you, I'll
tell you what he is. What he did to meting
around in six and one, seven and one, I'm cashing
all my tickets in my head. That's what he did
to me. He just went on a on a complete

(01:50:20):
total just avalanche down the wrong direction. All right, well, um,
but Pete Carroll, we we we know what Pete's done.
I'm gonna I'm gonna stick in there with Pete on
this one, even though he was honorary Vanilla brother on
Uncle Vj's corner a week ago. And Geno smith Man,
do you know Geno smith is top four, top ten,

(01:50:40):
and four different quarterback categories right now. He's completing over
seventy percent of his passes right now in the NFL.
I mean, he's having a phenomenal year that nobody's talking about.
So if I had to put it on somebody and
put it on one of those two teams, I would
put on the Seahawks because I think you have the
better coach. I think they have the better. Um, I

(01:51:01):
think I have the better quarterback. And then also they
don't have to deal with you just said it yourself.
They don't have to deal with the Eagles and the Cowboys. Yeah,
I'm with you on Seattle as well, even though I
do think the NFC West will shape up a little
bit in terms of at least I think the fourt
de nands will get right. I don't know if the
Rams and their offensive gotta get healthy, get healthy. But uh,
with Seattle, I think it ultimately, like you said, we've

(01:51:23):
seen but we know what Pete Carroll is. We've seen
this strategy before. This is how they won the Super
Bowl the last time they went up there. Right, how
when they were with Russell Wilson. What are they doing?
They're running the ball a ton, making big throws when
it's open, Like Tyler Lockett has been running wide open.
You know, and watch this when you watch the see

(01:51:44):
Seahawks next. Tyler Lockett refuses to take a hit in
the open field, and I appreciate it. He'll be open,
he'll play, but as soon as there's like two people
around him, he's like, nope, I'm down. That's the Marvin
Harrison syndrome, homie, that's how you play receiver from I'm
not I'm not mad at me when I met at
it one minute, but just it's just now that I've
now that I noticed it, I can't not see it.

(01:52:04):
It's just funny to watch. Um. But but the Seahawks,
and you know what I really love they have rookies
at the right places, right you know what I'm saying,
Like they have rookies that are really making impacts around
the offensive line and the defensive backfield, Like they got
that Tarik Wollan six four corner runs a four three
speed rusge Richard Sherman. The he's and it's like you

(01:52:26):
can't run around because he's right there. He's gonna turn
into the receiver right there and there. So that's what
I say. What we see with the Seahawks is a
little bit of a reincarnation now that they were been
able to shed Russell Wilson, whereas with the Who's with
the Giants is something entirely new and special And I
like it a lot, Don't get me wrong. I love
the way they can run in the quarterback and so on.
But you got Daniel Jones on the fifth er option
say Kwan has left two games this year with injury.

(01:52:48):
Who knows, so that continues. They lost their tackle Evan
neil uh and and and Bellinger who not necessarily a
past threat but catches a lot of big fur catches
a lot of big third downs and it is a
huge key for them in the running game. The Giants
run out three tight ends. I don't know if you
can afford to just run out two tight ends because
like we've said before, their receivers are are are just

(01:53:09):
traded the first round drove pick and and that, and
that goes to show they just traded the first round
drove pick, and they got David Like I said before,
they got David Stills the fifth. Where's the other four?
You know? And so I'm gonna go ahead with the
Seahawks too. But ultimately this matchup this weekend is gonna
be a ton of fun. We'll get to that next
and even more with that with the picks coming up next.

(01:53:29):
Fox Sports Radio, Fox Sports Saturday, coming to you live
from the tire Rack dot Com studios. It's Martin and VJ.
And just like we do every time at this week,
the last time I checked every Saturday at nine fifty.
We try to get you off some winners. We try
to make some money. I don't know how it's been
going to last few weeks. You try, if you know what,
bo I don't know how we did done. It's time

(01:53:49):
for the picks, that's right. Uh. You know what? Last
week Martin won to to one? How about that? A
couple of pushes last week? Um, real quick, I didn't
get a chance to jump in. Uh. Anthony Davis gets
a lot of stuff. Um, but he's a tough guy man.
I don't know if you guys remember in the finals
he looked like he tore his achilles and he played
through it. He's been playing through injury this year. I

(01:54:10):
think it's pretty unfair that he gets that label in
Kauai doesn't. But anyway, onto the picks. Uh. The Broncos
head to London to take on the Jaguars. Jacksonville surprisingly
is a two and a half point favorite in this game.
Who you guys got? I'm going with this? The hyees himself,
Mr Limited Russell Wilson that Daniel Hack's jobs on the
hot season. We're gonna see two coaches fired in London

(01:54:31):
and back to back years. I don't think so, especially
first year guys. And you know what that Daniel Hacket
doesn't even stay in Ohio bars or anything like to
kick his kicker. No, I'm gonna go ahead with the
Denver Broncos. They get right this week. I'm going with
the Jacks on this one. Man Devers not winning this
game was never season never Season's done. Give me to
Jack's alright. Next up, the Cardinals tral to Minnesota to

(01:54:54):
take on the Vikings. As Martin noted, this is the
first weekend of the h new caller Duty, so something
to watch with Kyler Murray. The Vikings are favored by
three and a half in this one. I hate to
go against my man Kay Murray, but he might be
playing a little call of duty. But I just think
Minnesota is just a better team at this point. I
love what they have going on offense with with with
Cousins and Jeffers said, I really like this team. I

(01:55:16):
picked them in the summer to winters Division. So I'm
gonna pick them, and I'm gonna pick them to cover
the three and a half. Remember, like I said, multiplayer
dropped this weekend, not war zone key distinction. Give me
Kyler in the three and a half. Alright, guys. Uh.
Next up, the Steelers take on the Eagles in Philadelphia,
with Philadelphia favored by eleven points in this one, I'm

(01:55:39):
gonna go with the Eagles straight up. I don't like
that eleven points spread because the toddlest tham, no, we're no,
we're just picking winners. No, we've been picking against the
spread this whole time, Champ. Maybe that's why we spread. No,
I am, I don't think I am. I am up
all right? So then then I can take the Eagles
not to cover someone. I'm not taking the Steelers about
that plus the half, the Steelers half eleven No, no, no,

(01:56:02):
give it this thes plus than and a half. Give
me the Eagles in the eleven. I would take the
ten and a half. But Chris bob Worth, Steelers kick
your questionable. That's gonna factor in to any big points spread.
I like this. I got like the Eagle. Also, Inner
Inner Pennsylvania rivalry game. You gotta kind of watch that
right there, alright. Next up in Los Angeles, here the
San Francisco forty Niners, who have absolutely owned the Rams

(01:56:24):
take on their Rams, but no Deebo Samuel, who also
owns the Rams ever since Aaron Donald poke Fat Bear.
It's actually even so it's kind of a pick them
no no Deebo means major problem for San Francisco. But ultimately,
like Bo just said, Kyle Shanahan has Sean mcveigh's number,
I'm going with that historical trend. I'm give me the
coach in this one in Kyle Shanahan, Please jim me

(01:56:46):
do don't throw a pick and kill me. Earlier in
the show, you said you're a coaches guy, and you
said I'm a Jimmy and Joe guy. San Francisco don't
have a lot of their good Jimmy and Joe's rams
are at home. They have the best defender and the
best player on the field. Give me the Rams and
the pick. That one Jimmy to do got plays quarterback
at that ain't great. Last one here, guys, the the
Packers had to Buffalo to take on the Bills, where

(01:57:06):
Buffalo is favored by ten and a half points. The Packers,
like I said before, a well done cooked fried over
with Fanito finished the Buffalo Bills gonna win this game
thirty one to ten, and at that exact Core America
thirty one to ten. But really quick, what's the head
to head record right now between I'm up by what
three games? Three or four games? Yeah, something like that. Okay,
back and check the numbers. Okay, I'll take a risk

(01:57:27):
on the give me the Packers with the plus eleven.
I think Aaron Rodgers gets to his team. I love
what he said at the podium. Hey, this might be
the best thing to happen for somebody's gonna believe it anyway,
might as well go out here and win the damn game.
So give me the Packers plus lovel plus ten and
a half. If that's the best thing that's happened Aaron Rodgers,
I hope better things are in the future, honestly, seriously,
because that sucks. What's up? Oh, what's going on? Guys.

(01:57:49):
It's a good it's a good show to the guys.
Thanks mak you man. I appreciate it. Appreciate it, man,
I appreciate you guys. Do you guys think that ten
and a half is like the biggest uh deficit Rodgers
has ever faced? I don't know really how to say
it is. It's the first time in his career that
he's been a double digit underdog, the first time his career.
I'll tell you what, but we've seen someone precedented things happening.
When's the last time Tim Brady won in the three game?

(01:58:10):
Losing Street before Thursday hadn't happened as a starter. But
I got a question for your big Laker fan, man,
just just your synopsis really as oh and five, what
do you what do you see? Man? You're you're you're
you're really close to it, Like we were saying, like
they haven't really been getting blown out. So I do
think that there's still time to salvage this season. But
if they're gonna do this thing where they're like, oh no,

(01:58:30):
we're just gonna stand pad and kind of make it work,
then you might as well be taking offers for Anthony Davis.
And then in the off season you might as well
be taking officers on Lebron because what's the point of
punting on a season where you have those two if
you're not going to try to win? I mean, how
much I mean, how much worse could the team get?
