Speaker 1 (00:01):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio. A little bit of
an issue in the world of college football. But the
best part is this issue may not be around that
much longer. We are going to have some fun while
we still got it, and we'll get into that here.
Coming up a couple of moments from now. Jonas snocks
Fox Sports Radio. You can hang out with us. Is

(00:21):
always on the I Heart Radio app. You can find
us on hundreds of affiliates all across the country and
wherever the hell you are. Making us a part of
your Saturday morning into the afternoon. We appreciate you doing so.
We're gonna take you all the way up until four
pm Eastern time, one o'clock Pacific. Make some noise, Sorry,
make some noise. We have got a full slate of

(00:41):
college football. We have got big time games. We got
a giant horse race coming up later on today. We've
got NFL action all weekend long. This is what we're
talking about. The leaves are changing colors. We got it's
starting to get chilly all over the country. People are
getting fired up. You've got Thanksgiving a few days away,
so you've got a bunch of turkeys in the wild

(01:02):
looking around at each other like, are you next? Is
it gonna be me? Hey? What's gonna happen to you?
Where are you taking him? And this is going to
be the time of our lives this weekend in the
world of sports. But it's not gonna last that much longer, right,
And here's why. So college football has had this issue.

(01:22):
I don't know if you've noticed this over the past
few years, This outrage, this anger. A lot of people
upset about all these college football playoff rankings that come out.
And I've been steadfast on this for for many years.
The College Football Playoff Committee acknowledges that yes, they want

(01:43):
to reward the best teams, and they want to give
the best teams the best opportunity they can to try
and play for a national championship while simultaneously putting on
a TV show. This is about the entertainment. They would
like to have as much entertainment involved in this as possible.

(02:03):
And so when the college football playoff rankings come out
and everybody gets upset and everybody gets outraged by it,
there are a couple of teams that have a gripe.
TCU's got a little bit of a gripe, you know,
TCU is looking around, going, hold on a second, We're undefeated.
Why are we behind one loss Alabama? Why are why

(02:23):
are we being moved back now? TCU is currently playing
TCUs currently got to match up themselves and in state rivalry.
Apparently they are not big fans of Texas Tech. And
TCU has got a three point lead there. That is
the big newon kickoff game on Fox. You can watch that.
They're uh and kind of tune in and go back
and forth. But TCUs looking around, going, we've got a

(02:45):
legitimate gripe. So there are some teams that have a
gripe out there, and then there are other teams out
there that have a little bit of a gripe. But
unfortunately the gripe doesn't matter because a lot of these
things are going to be figured out and solved. Ohio
State Ohio eight in Michigan. That's gonna be the game
Thanksgiving Day weekend. Everybody's gonna be fired up for. You're

(03:07):
gonna have a hundred thousand people there at the Horseshoe.
You gotta have a bunch of people watching on television.
That's gonna be the game of the weekend. And it's
also going to determine who's coming out of the Big
Ten to go to the College Football Playoff. So it's
gonna be sorted out. You're not gonna get both Ohio
State in Michigan. I wouldn't. I wouldn't imagine depending on
the math. So that's gonna be sorted out. Clemson got

(03:31):
a little bit of a gift because its name brand,
and you want to throw Clemson in there because it's
dabbo and they've been a juggernaut for the past several years.
So all of that is being factored into this. Here's
the best part about all this, though, the fact that
you've got Tennessee and Georgia and they're playing each other
later on and that's the big matchup of the day,

(03:52):
a one versus three. All that that is told you
is that we're probably going to get what is piste
off many people over the past several years in college football,
and that means we're gonna get too SEC teams into
the College Football Playoff. Now, you're probably frustrated by that,
you're probably angered by that, you're probably a little bit

(04:13):
annoyed by that. But here's what I would like to
throw out to you. That's gonna make you feel a
little bit better. Embrace the outrage, Embrace being piste off,
and also understand it's not going to be around that
much longer. The twelve team college Football Playoff is going
to be here sooner than later. We can all sit
here and argue all we want about the early November

(04:35):
playoff rankings. Ultimately, once they add eight more teams into
the mix here, it's not really gonna matter. You'll have
a little bit of the uh, you know, on the
outside arguments like who who deserves to be twelve? Did
the thirteen seed get screwed over? That's always going to exist,
just like it exists in college basketball when it comes
to the n c A tournament. But for those of

(04:56):
you out there that are bitching and moaning, because the
way this stacks up, as you got one versus three,
and whoever wins this game is going to be number
one in the country and then the other guy is
gonna sort of fall towards the back. And then if
Alabama wins out and then they win the SEC championship game,
that means we're definitely gonna get two teams in. It's
either gonna be Alabama and Georgia and Alabama and Tennessee.

(05:19):
Why don't you just let them have their fun? Okay,
we get it, it's not ideal, but let them have
their fun. You know, it's not ideal having to clean
up after kids at a restaurant. It's annoying. Have you
ever seen the ground underneath the high chair at a restaurant?

(05:40):
It looks like a diaper bomb went off. And there's
food that the parents brought in, and there's food that
was brought to the table that the kid is thrown
on the ground. I can't tell you the last time
I went into a restaurant and didn't see a child.
Pretend that the mozzarella sticks were drumsticks. They're playing like

(06:01):
a corn song while you're trying to have a quiet dinner,
and God forbid, you're one of those people who tries
to do a little bit of a prayer before the meal.
Next thing, you know, a moment of silence, the kid
goes into borderline convulsions because it needs attention. It just
starts throwing stuff with people. It is awful, but you
know what you do. You wear it. We're not gonna

(06:23):
be here that long. It's only temporary. Let the kid
have some fun. Let him throw some cryans around, let
him spill a soup on the ground. You can mop
it up. It's not that big of a deal. Trust me,
I've worked at many restaurants. I've been through it all.
It doesn't last. It's annoying, but it doesn't last. That's
how you gotta look at this college football playoff. You

(06:46):
can't sit here and cry and complain about the behavior
of the College Football Playoff Committee and the SEC bias
while they're sitting in a high chair. You can't do
it all right. You gotta let it play out. You
gotta let them have their fun, and then ultimately they're
gonna walk away. The twelve team playoff is going to
be here sooner rather than later, as I said, And

(07:10):
once it's here, we don't have to worry about this anymore. Now,
some of you are addicted to complaining. Some of you
are going to find anything to complain about. If you
won the lottery this weekend, or you won Powerball, which
I believe is up to what like one point five
billions something like that, whatever it is, if you want
powerball this week and maybe somebody want to I have

(07:31):
no idea. I was on a plane there was a
weather delay. I don't even know what day it is.
Point being some of you out there, if you won
the lottery, you would complain if they only paid you
out in twenties and not hundreds, same money, but you
would bitch about how it's divided up. So I can't

(07:53):
help you. I'm trying, but I can't. So you may
be upset and frustrated by it. Depending on what happens
in Tennessee, Georgia. The winner of that's gonna go on
probably when the SEC East, they'll represent that side of
the conference. They're gonna play Alabama. Alabama. If they win
that game, we're gonna get too SEC teams in. All
that matters is it's not gonna last that long. You're

(08:16):
gonna be out of the restaurant. We'll clean up after
the kid. You can take him home and then you
can throw his diaper out as you do a drive
by on somebody's house you don't like, and just say, hey,
you piste us off. You complain about our dogs barking
too loud. Here's a nice little diaper for you. Enjoy
the apple fritter inside and have fun for the rest
of your day. Jonas knocks box again it is trust me.

(08:39):
All right. So here's the here's the other situation that's
taken place in the world of college football, and it
involves the top four, specifically number two Ohio States having
a little bit of an issue at Northwestern. Alright, So
Ohio State's offense is really struggling right now. We are
early on in the second half and they're tied at
seven apiece, lowest point total through a staff for Ohio

(09:00):
State in the Buckeyes all season long. Here's the problem.
The weather has been an issue and apparently the field
surface is not ideal for a fast team like Ohio State.
So you got a lot of that happening. So thoughts
and prayers to anybody that bet the over in this game.
If I were you, I would, you know, just you know,

(09:21):
go sit in a bathtub and wait for the end.
You know what I mean, Just go sitt Now. I'm
not gonna tell you to do anything like a Groundhog
Day where you put a toaster on or something like
that and throw it in the water. Don't be that drastic.
You got a ton of games later on. But I
would just sit in a bathtub, wait for the end,
and then hope that Ohio State in Northwestern. You didn't
put too much money on the over and now you

(09:41):
can focus on some of the other games. Plus you
got the Breeders Cup you can gamble on. There's all
sorts of fun stuff that is going on here in
the world of college football. But as it stands right now,
this is the game everybody's watching. Ohio State struggling, trying
to get some momentum together. If you remember last week
or the week before, Ohio State was struggling against Penn State.
They figured it out, they got some plays on defense.

(10:02):
Sean Clifford helped him out by playing anything unlike a
six year veteran of the Penn State program. And so
the Buckeys are sitting here tied at seven apiece at Northwestern,
and you've got a bunch of Ohio State fans that
are probably hungover because they partied in downtown Chicago. Now
they're at this game, going what happened to our offense?
This doesn't look like the team we're used to seeing.

(10:22):
And as we say that here on this show, Ohio
State ends up with a major drop as it would
be it would be touchdown there at Northwestern. But we've
got a drop in the red zone, thus still tied
A seven apiece will keep you updated on that throughout
the course of the show. All right, Jonas Knox here

enough attention to this show over the past couple of weeks,
you know that we are good at a couple of things,
and only a couple of things. Well, I mean, listen,
Knox Locks is starting to take off, so we'll get
into that for you coming up an hour two. But
also when we start to discuss the doom and gloom

(13:38):
that is the Ohio State Buckeyes. If they're struggling at
any point whatsoever during a football game, you can bet
your sweet ass that they are going to respond with
a touchdown and they are going to take a lead.
And that's exactly what happened. So Ohio State does have
now a fourteen seven lead over Northwestern. It was not
looking pretty a little bit of an ugly game. Whether

(13:58):
there's been an issue you've got, you know, potential issues
with the playing surfaces people have discussed here and I
Ohio State speed has been sort of diminished here in
this matchup with Northwestern, and thus Northwestern was keeping it closed.
They had an early seven nothing lead in Ohio State
probably was listening to this this program, and I don't
blame them, who wouldn't want to listen to this program

(14:20):
on the I Heart radio app in their headsets they
turned down the volume on their coaches giving them signals
and they have instead, uh turned on this program and
they have responded and now they have a fourteen seven
lead just under four and a half minutes to go
on the third quarter. So we will keep you up
to speed on that throughout the course of the show,
So don't worry about it. We got you covered here
on fs are all right, So let's get into this now.

(14:43):
I would like to throw my support behind somebody because
I think this is absolutely ridiculous that this even is
a topic of conversation. But if you paid any close
attention to the world of sports of the past several days,
most notably NBA stories, you understand that you also probably
can't believe why certain things are a topic of conversation
in sports radio. Very strange. Uh, the NBA just cannot

(15:06):
get out of its own way. It is, uh, it
really is unbelievable. I mean it's unbelievable. The NBH is
they can't just can't help themselves. I mean, whether it's
you know, another scandal involving a player and uh, you know,
somebody on the team and maybe exposing himself, or you

(15:28):
got another guy who just every time he opens his mouth,
he just continues to make a fool of himself. It's
just it's amazing. But that's the NBA and it's football season,
so who cares. So now we moved to this, I
would like to throw my support behind somebody who was
showing a little bit of defiance, an active defiance, because
sometimes an active defiance is Okay, it really is. Sometimes

(15:52):
you gotta put your foot down, you gotta stand up
for yourself. You gotta rage against the feeling that someone
is trying to do harm to you, or do bad
by you, or try and make you an example. And
that's somebody is DJ Moore, the wide receiver of the

(16:13):
Carolina Panthers. Now, I know what you're saying, Yeah, but
the Carolina Panthers are a bad football team. Yeah, come on,
I mean what you're thinking about bad football teams? How
could you not be talking about the Carolina Panthers. I mean,
pick a card, any card turning over? What's that one say? Oh,
fired our head coach and still owing forty million dollars. Okay,

(16:34):
turn over your other card. We have two of the
top three picks from the same draft class at quarterback
and neither one of them starting. Okay, turn over the
other card. What's that one say? Well, no, they got
beat out by the job by a guy who played
in the XFL. Oh that's not ideal. What about the
fourth card? What's that one say? Oh, it says that, um,
we've got a team that traded away all it's best players,

(16:57):
but still is trying to sell anybody on the idea
that it's not a tank job there. Okay, well, that
sounds like a bad football team to me, and that
would be the Carolina Panthers. But d J. Moore, the
wide receiver, is standing up for himself. Now. If you
watch the game last week, it was a fantastic football
game against the Atlanta Falcons, which, by the way, I

(17:18):
dubbed that the we almost had Deshaun Watson ball, right,
So that was the we almost had Deshaun Watson ball
because both of those teams really wanted Deshaun Watson. Both
of those teams came up short, and both of those
teams probably claimed, now, well, we didn't want that type
of guy in our locker room, even though Deshaun Watson
already had a jersey from the Falcons in his home

(17:42):
if not for the Cleveland Browns giving him two thirty
million dollars fully guaranteed. Never never mind all that, and
never mind the fact that Carolina wanted him to but
Carolina didn't want to guarantee the last two years of
his deal, thus their issues at quarterbacks. So I digress.
So in the we almost had Deshaun Watson Bowl, the
Carolina Panthers were trailing, they were down six. D J

(18:05):
Moore catches a sixty two yard touchdown from p J
Walker that was an absolute rope a dime, scores extra
point pending. It looks like Carolina is gonna win the game.
And what does DJ Moore do? He takes off his helmet,
He gets penalized. Eddie Pinero comes out, misses the longer

(18:29):
extra point. They go to overtime and Carolina loses, And
you're probably thinking to yourself, d J Moore should be apologetic.
He should feel awful for the way that he has
wronged his team and Carolina Panthers fans everywhere. So d
J Moore, speak up for yourself. How bad do you feel?
What sort of regret do you feel for your air

(18:52):
and judgment and celebrating and making it about you in
that moment instead of the team regrets. No, not to
that extent like should I not have did it? No?
Did I do it? I own up to that, Like
it was just in the moment type of deal. So
I can't say if I would do it differently in
that moment. No, probably not Good for you. Can we

(19:15):
get a round of applause for d J. Moore? Good
for you? All right, spit in the face of that
ridiculous rule. It's awful. It doesn't make any sense. You
can't take your helmet off. Listen, I get it. If
d J. Moore had taken his helmet off in the
middle of a play, that's dangerous. We've seen the concussion

(19:37):
conversation pop up again this year. Not a good move.
I'll do you one better if d J. Moore pulled
out a hand cannon from his hip, like in the
movie The Last Boy Scout. I can understand a fifteen
yard penalty. Okay, guy pulls out a handgun from his
waist during the middle of a football game. I get

(19:58):
a fifteen yard penalty. But he takes his helmet off
while celebrating an incredible touchdown and gets popped fifteen yards.
I know Eddie Pineiro should have made the kick. I
get all that, I understand, but he gets popped fifteen
yards fifteen yards for taking his helmet off celebrating a touchdown.

(20:20):
It's ridiculous. And here's why it doesn't make any sense.
The NFL is all about business and branding. Right. They're
all about it. We are all about business, and we're
all about branding, and we're all about moving the league forward.
It's why they've slowly started to take away other days
of the week. Come on, it's really like it's an easy,

(20:42):
little slight of hand. You know. They started with just Sundays,
and they said, you know, Monday would be cool. All right,
We'll give you Monday. And then the NFL looked around
and said, you know what, we're gonna go ahead and uh,
we're gonna grab Thursday if you don't mind. All right,
I'm mean that's you know, three of the seven days,
but okay, you could have Thursday too. And then the

(21:03):
NFL looked around and said, you know, late in the season,
we're gonna go ahead and borrow Saturday for a couple
of weeks. Okay, I guess you can have Saturday for
a couple of weeks. And then the NFL looked around
and said, you know, we'd really like to have a
bite out of Christmas. We know it's the NBA's day,

(21:24):
it's their big day. We're gonna go ahead and take
Christmas as well too. And everyone said, okay, I mean,
I guess you could have Christmas also, And then the
NFL couldn't even wait a year, and they said, you
know what, you know that big holiday the day after Thanksgiving,
you know, Black Friday. We're gonna go ahead and have
that one too on Amazon Prime. All right, I guess
you could have. The NFL is all about business. They're

(21:46):
all about making money. They're all about taking advantage of
a business opportunity. So you have an opportunity to grow
your sport by growing players individually, so people can see
what they do and see how they celebrate, and see
their faces and not just their helmets. You have this opportunity,
and what do you do. You punish a guy fifteen
yards for it? It doesn't make any sense. On the

(22:08):
same weekend, A J. Brown caught a touchdown over two
Pittsburgh Steelers defenders and pointed at them while they were
on the ground, pointed at them, where was the towning penalty?
What are we talking like? This isn't Kyle Turley taking
some guy's helmet off and throwing it like a shot put? Like,

(22:31):
what are we talking about here? D J. Moore is
getting popped fifteen yards because he took his helmet off
and then says afterwards, not I don't regret it, Yeah, don't.
He shouldn't. Eddie Pinero probably should have made the kick,
but that's not a chip shot. I mean, we've seen
what extra points have done the kickers. They've almost driven
some of them into retirement. Adam Minitarium was walked away

(22:53):
from the league because he couldn't make an extra point
all of a sudden, So of course Eddie Panere probably
should have made the kick. But d J Morganton pop
fifteen yards for taking his helmet off, which by the way,
I didn't even think he was in the field to
play when he did. It is ridiculous and good for him.
That is an active definance we should all get behind.
Shout out d J. Moore. I'm proud of you, stand
your ground by the way you play for a bad

(23:15):
football team. Jonas Knocks Fox Sports Radio from the entire

All right, so we're gonna try and make you some money.
We're gonna do our best try and make you some money.
But I do have some inside information for you. It's

(23:38):
one of the great events all year long. We're gonna
get into that for you next year on fs ARE.
But for all the latest from around the world of
sports ladies and gentlemen, it's moncy take you overs. Yeah, yeah, what? Yeah?

(24:00):
How are you? What's happening? You know? I just love
hearing you on your rants. They're so good. I don't
know where. Somebody asked me if I scripted those. I
was like, tow man, you can't, Yeah, you can't. I
love them. I love them. Mike North gave me a
great piece of advice, probably the best advice I've ever
gotten broadcasting. He told me before I was going to

(24:22):
host my first show, like years and years ago, I
hadn't posted on on fs R and it was like
going to be an overnight. It was four hours I
was by myself. Said he said, hey, j I want
you to listen to me. Okay, yeah, what said? He goes,
stay focused and fire the f away, baby. I still
remember that. I was, Okay, that were You're like perfect? Yeah,

(24:46):
I can't do that. Oh man. By the way, Mike Norris,
have you heard the Mike North terrorist drop. It's so
out of context, it's so insulting. But if if there's
ever a guy talking, a person talking on the air, Uh,
Mike North had a drop about somebody. I think it

(25:07):
was Alden Smith who got hammered. It was in l
A X and told everybody he had a bomb. And
so mikel went on the air the show the next
morning and had this to say, this guy's a terrorist
that has been of the system for like ten years.

(25:29):
Because I remember, I remember being in studio when it happened,
and I almost I couldn't breathe. I was laughing so
hard because it was so this guy's a terrorist. Oh
my goodness. By the way, Monc, forever, Jonas and Mike
North will be connected at the hip to this day.
On the Fifth Hour podcast with Ben Mallor, whenever we
talk about Jonas, I play a Mike North drop. We

(25:52):
don't need to bring Jonas well. Here. The story behind
that drop was Mike and Andy were having this discussion
and it was getting a little bit heated on the
air Mike North and Andy Furman. So uh, Andy said
you have an affection for Big Matt, so we know
we need me. So I didn't. I didn't know that.

(26:13):
I didn't know Andy was going to bring me in.
And so Andy on the air was like, because I
was doing something else behind the scenes, and he's like, no, no,
he's all listen. Asked Jonas, you know Jonas, and Mike
was just, we don't need to bring Jonas in. And
so we saved that job because North felt bad. I
don't feel bad about it. I didn't want to come in.
I didn't want any part of that argument. But yeah,
that's funny, that's funny. Well, how about Buckeye fans can relax?

(26:38):
It only took two and a half quarters, but Ohio
State has taken the lead. Third and three, Ohio stated
Northwestern seven scroll feeds Mine and Williams barreling straight ahead
off defenders, not cuts it out. Why to the right
to the fifteen, Williams to the ten, Williams to the
fire man into the end zone, goes May and Williams
a twenty seven yard touchdown run as he burst through

(26:59):
the Northwestern defense. At Ohio State now leading for the
first time today. Seven, Well, the extra point was good.
Paul Kills from lear Field on the call, so they
are of fourteen seven. They're about to end the third quarter.
Number seventeen North Carolina was down, but not anymore. They
are back on top of Virginia twenty four to twenty one.
Early in the fourth quarter. Number seven TC you still

(27:20):
losing to Texas Tech. Seventeen thirteen is the score thirty
seconds to go in the third quarter, and number nineteen
t Lane has had no issues with Tulsa. They are
still up, also early in the fourth quarter. In NFL news,
the Chargers, who are already playing without white receivers Keenan
Allen and Mike Williams, have just placed tight end Donald

(27:41):
Parham on the injured reserve because of a hamstring injury,
and the New York Jets down grade and newly acquired
running back James Robinson two questionable for their game tomorrow
against the Bills due to a knee injury. Back to you, Jonas,
Oh my god, man, it's that time of year. Everybody's
getting banged. Good God, all right, thank you mons. So

(28:03):
we appreciate the great monster belongos. Hey, by the way,
I didn't I texted, okay, you gotta stop yeah, yeah,
so good. So I actually I texted Danny, You're gonna
get a kick out of this. I texted Scott Shapiro
because I was driving from the airport. So I flew

(28:25):
into Louisville and then had to drive to Lexington. It's
like a ninety minute drive. And I am a radio
nerd through and through. Like I I love radio, and
whenever I go to like a new part of the country,
always listened to the local sports talk radio shows because
I just I get a kick out of I just
I love radio, grew up on it. And so I
turned on nine one the Zone in Lexington and I

(28:47):
was listening to Coveno and Rich with you guys on Thursday.
So I was driving in the middle of getting to Lexington, Kentucky,
and I was listening to you guys talk about alcohol
that you threw up. So I just watched in So
I was supporting the product even in Kentucky. On nine
s on the Zone, what's the first liquor you ever

(29:07):
got drunk on? Oh? Red hook beer? Yeah, red hook beer, either,
whatever alcoholic beverage you consumed to get drunk. Here here
was Here was the problem though, because I never really
drank that much. I think it was like nineteen maybe,
and I went to my buddies. Uh. I went to

(29:29):
my buddies sister's wedding and they ran out of bud light,
so all they had was red hook beer. And I
don't know any difference I had. I had no clue,
And so we were we were drinking it, and I
started to feel a little bit, you know, off, and
then ended up just getting really sick. And obviously, you know,
everything came back up. But the problem was before we
went to the wedding, I went to a restaurant locally

(29:53):
and had a case of at this Mexican restaurant. To
this day, I can't have a case city at a
Mexican restaurant to this day. It poison. But here's the
thing that's weird about it. I can have it at home,
Oh I can't have it in Yeah, I don't know.
This is a personal issue. Hey, let me tell you something.

(30:14):
And when your wife's Mexican, it causes problems. But you
just said you could have it at home, So yeah,
we can have it at home, but if we go
out to a restaurant, options are limited. It's like hockey
about you didn't have anything restaurant. But when when you
when you when you're trying to watch what he eat.
You know, sometimes food can present a problem. Like then

(30:34):
you start to think about the number of chips and
salts so that you've had, and you go, well, that's
like ten tortillas just cutting the little pieces. It doesn't count.
That doesn't count. The chips and the salts are like
the bread you get out at a restaurant, that doesn't count.
It's like it's like popcorn at a movie theater. Doesn't
None of that exists. So I like the math there,
moncy that works all right. So it is Jonah Stocks

(30:57):
here on Fox Sports Radio. By the way, you can
get me on Twitter at the Bonus Knocks at the
Jonas Knocks on Twitter, and we will take you all
the way U until four pm Eastern time, one o'clock Pacific.
We're gonna have another edition of Do You Care coming
up here from the entire rack dot com studios. That'll
be happening ten minutes from now. By the way, the
Breeders Cup, as we mentioned, the Breeders Cup World Championships
live from Iconic Keenlan. It's underway with the big races

(31:20):
coming up later on today. Don't miss the world's Best
Thoroughbred's race for their share of thirty one million dollars
in purses and awards. Visit Breeders Cup dot com to
watch all the action live today. So it's time to
make a pick. It's time to make a damn pick
here for the Breeders Cup Classic. And I need some
approval on this because I'm not gonna be held responsible

(31:42):
for this if somebody gives me a hard time for
my decision, and uh and and how I'm going to
make this decision here on the air. So Danny g
I need you to help me out here. If I
were to make a pick that was different than the
pick I gave out yesterday on two pros and a
cup of Joe, am I going to get in trouble

(32:04):
because it's a little bit like hedging here? Am I
gonna get popped for that if I give out a
different pick? Or do I need to keep it consistent
and go with what I did? Yes, this is like
March madness, Jonas. You can't have two brackets. I can't
know damn it, because I'm really regretting my pick. That's
the problem here. Like, I feel like this is gonna
be a little bit of an issue that makes it

(32:24):
even better. I want to hear it. Okay, so here's
my pick. And I actually thought through this because everybody
has given out the favorite. Everybody's looking at flight Line.
We were talking with with a gentleman yesterday at the
track and he was explaining to us just how great
flight Line really is and how phenomenal he's been in
practices and warmups. He looks to be the goods. That's

(32:46):
why he's the heavy favorite. And so I have a theory.
You need a little bit of something to push you.
Sometimes you need some motivation. Right If you see somebody
driving next to you really fast, doesn't sometimes you're you're incline.
Shouldn't be like, okay, well I gotta keep up with them,
and you drive really fast with them. I'm not gonna
let them beat me to the red light. I want
to drive as fast as them. We all do it.

(33:08):
If you're running next to somebody on a treadmill in
the gym and you see they're really hauling and you're
kind of walking, it kind of big nights a fire
in you. You want to run a little bit faster. Yourself.
So here's what we're going with here. I believe that
flight Line is not the pick, all right. I don't
think that that's the pick. In fact, I believe that
the pick is somewhere else next to flight Line. And

(33:31):
so my pick at the Breeders Cup is going to
be Happy Saber. I got Happy Saber at thirty to one.
It opened up thirty to one, a big significant underdog.
I think Happy Saber shocks the world. It's the three
horse right next to flight Line. A little motivation, and

(33:52):
that is my pick for the Breeders Cup. And we
all make a little bit of money here on a
busy sports weekend. How about that. I've been to the
Dollar Tree in thousand Doug with you before. It's a
fitting name of a horse for you. Hey. By the way,
good luck trying to get in and out of a
dollar tree, and under five minutes it doesn't exist because
everybody's standing in line. And by the way, that main

(34:13):
six million dollar Cup Classic is tentatively set for five
pm Eastern time today. Oh man, it's gonna be so great.
This is gonna be so great. The breed I'm telling
you man, being out there, it is one of the
most beautiful. Like I've been to a few tracks in
my life, nothing comes close to what I saw Human,
Absolutely unbelievable. It was just awesome to be out there

(34:36):
and by the track, got to see him warm up
in the morning, got to go back later on and
look at some of the Friday races. It was. It
was a blast. Had had a ton of fun there,
So we appreciate everybody who made that happen and Fox
Sports Radio getting to be there was awesome at the
Breeders Cup of Human So check that out later today
and we'll have more on the Breeders Cup coming up
an hour two of the program. An actual expert who's
gonna stop by live from the track to give us

(34:58):
their thoughts on the big is coming up later on
today is Jonas Knox here Fox Sports Radio. You can
hang out with us is always on the I Heart
Radio app and coming up next, it's the most fun
segment of the weekend, A chance to be negative. Who
doesn't like that as we make fun of some of
the stories stories in the world of sports that you
have been force fed throughout the past several days. It's
another edition of Do You Care? And at Yours Right

(35:19):
here on fs are Jonas Knocks Fox Sports Radio. You
can hang out with us as always on the I
Heart Radio app as we come to you alive from
the tire rack dot Com studios. By the way, coming
up top next hour a little over ten minutes from now,
we are gonna have another edition of Knox Lock. Starting
to hit our groove. Now, I may not feel all
that confident about my Happy Sabor pick is a long

(35:41):
shot who is currently dealing with a little bit of
an ailment, by the way, a little bit of a crack,
but it was repaired. Happy Saver is set to start
the race at the Classic at keen Lynn at the
Breeders Cup coming up later on. I'm rolling with it.
That was my pick, that was my long shot pick.
I'm going with it, so that'll be a lot of fun.
I do feel really confident about my Knox Ox. I'm
starting to find a groove and I'm starting to really

(36:02):
really find a niche. As we look at the NFL
and seeing where all these teams are at and all
where all the matchups are, I'm starting to really identify
some issues for some teams. So we'll have more of
that coming up again top the next hour here on
Fox Sports Radio. By the way, let me tell you something.
Let me tell you something. Right now, Charlotte's Web is
the most trusted HEMP Extract. Not here in the US,

(36:26):
but in the world, the world's most trusted HEMP Extract.
Founded to serve wellness seekers looking for save, clean and
natural options. It's the number one CBD brand on the market.
Go to Charlotte's Web dot com and use promo code
sports fifteen for off your order. That's Charlotte's Web dot com.
Not available in Idaho or South Dakota. There's so many

(36:49):
stories in the world of sports, and most of them
are a complete waste of time. DMZ reports. Let's get kinky.
Here's some of the big stories from the last week.
But Jonas, the real question is do you care? And
for that we turn it over to the man with
the best pipes in all of radio, the one and
only Danny g. That's going on all right, Jay Jake

(37:10):
Paul starting to look like a real bona fide boxer.
He beat Anderson Silva last weekend, and UFC veteran Matt
Brown was quoted saying Paul is fighting tougher guys. The
of pro boxers at this stage of his career. Do
you care? Yes, because for I feel like the conversation

(37:31):
is now twisted and turned towards something that I don't
know if everybody realizes what they're saying. So every time
Jake Paul beats one of these m m A fighters,
you always hear some sort of reasoning behind it. When
it was Tyrone would when it was Ben Askin, well
he's not a striker. When it was Tyron Woodley, it
was like, well, he's only an m A fighter. When
it was Anderson Silva, who's is skilled of an m

(37:52):
m A strikers there's ever been, it was, well, he's
old dude who cares like he's lining up fights. Floyd
Mayweather all ways opted for easier opponents, if that's even
a word you can use in boxing. So like Floyd
Mayweather back in the day, like he got offered eight
and this is back before he made any sort of
real money, and Floyd Mayweather was offered eight million dollars

(38:14):
to fight a guy named Paul Williams. Paul Williams was
his six ft one inch hundred forty seven pound fighter
at welterweight that threw a hundred punches around. Guy was awesome,
and Floyd Mayweather said, I'm gonna go ahead and fight
Carlos Baldemere. I'm gonna make half of what I would make,
but it's a better opponent for me, and then he
slowly started to build up his brand. That's all Jake

(38:36):
Paul's doing. He's making money, He's drawing attention to the sport.
I have no issue with it whatsoever. Just somebody's always
got to complain about whatever he does. Next. What a
story of the Lakers Matt Ryan has. He hit an
incredible three point shot falling out of bounds to help
give the Lakers her second straight win. Earlier in the week.
He used to be a door dash driver. Jonas, do
you care? I do? I love this stuff, man, this

(38:58):
is fantastic. This is like somebody who came from that
to now be starring in an NBA game and to
be hitting shots like that on a big stage. It's
it's phenomenal. I hope he has a long career, but
it just goes to show you be nice to everybody
around you, even the people that are doing some of
the jobs that you wouldn't take seriously because they deserve
your respect because they're going to actually being an NBA

(39:22):
star one day, we would hope next. Courtesy of ktl
A Channel five. Let's go to the audio tape. This
was taken early this morning. It shows this guy weaving
between traffic on the four oh five in his wheelchair.
He was spotted around midnight. This is near Santa Monica Boulevard,
the offer amp there. The man was just wheeling in

(39:44):
and out of lanes, forcing drivers to slam on their brakes.
You heard shouting their HP officers eventually caught up with
this man near the Tent Freeway took him into custody.
They're still not clear exactly why he was out there
in lanes on the freeway in his wheelchair. Do you care, yes,
I do. You imagine that you're stuck in gridlock of

(40:05):
the four or five and you see Lieutenant Dan weaving
in and out of traffic, beating you to where you
need to go. So we are starting to find our grooves,
starting to find our groove a little bit in the
world of football when it comes to our picks are predictions.
We will have more of that coming up here in
just a couple of moments from now. Jonas Knocks Fox

(40:26):
Sports Radio. You can hang out with us as always
on the I Heart Radio app. You can find us
on hundreds of affiliates all across the country and wherever
the hell you are listening to this program. We appreciate
you doing so, as we will take you all the
way up until four pm Eastern time one o'clock Pacific
through the rest of the hour. Happy Saturday afternoon to

(40:48):

free road has a protection and over ten thousand recommended
installers to iraq dot com the way tire buying should be.
So it is a a fun day. We've obviously got
a one versus three matchup coming up later on. In
the world of college football, if you are tuning in,

(41:11):
it's been a slug fest in Evanston. We've got Ohio
State with a fourteen seven lead over Northwestern six minutes
ago left in the game. There that has been a
fun one to watch. The weather have an impact, and
just some old school Big ten football. Let me hey,
I'm gonna tell you this right now, Hey, Iowa Sam,
as an Iowa fan, you gotta be looking at this

(41:32):
fourteen seven matchup and going, hey, what's your secret? How
are you guys able to put up fourteen and seven points?
This unbelievable stuff here in your own conference. I don't
know if you've been watching this, but Iowa's playing per
due right now. Yes they are, and they have twenty
four whole American football points. Yeah. Do you want to
explain what they were trying to accomplish on that little

(41:54):
end around play where they ran into each other in
the first half? Yes, like the five line. I don't know,
I don't know. They bungled out. They could have made it,
they could have made it three or whatever was. So hey,
I'll take it. They're playing a lot better. So yeah,
that's all right. Good for that man, and uh bowl,
Yeah that's all right. Listen, some blooming onions, get some

(42:16):
blooming onion or the what is it? What are the wins?
It's one team gets you get the free blooming onion
and the other one is you get free coconut shrimp
over that being back in the Yeah, yeah, Farns and
Io have been in the outback pol so many times
he's got like, you know, frozen blooming onion in his
freezer from like two thousand and eight. So I think

(42:36):
that's a little bit insulting. But again, I mean, if
you want to air out Iowa like that, I try
and support the Iowa Hawkeyes and their sure program period. Right,
So listening, and I love I love the brand of
football they play at the crop circle. All right. They're
finally getting that that old slugo of an offense going,
so it's good for them, right in time for the
off season. All right. So it is Jonas Knocks here

(42:56):
on Fox Sports Radio. By the way, um, obviously big
supporters of this program like Tony, who writes in quote,
keep bitching like the flaming bleep you are about your
f boy Ellen making your precious blue check mark eight
dollars and how you're outraged and we'll boycott now social

(43:18):
justice d wad. So Tony a big fan of the program.
Here listen, man, I don't care about a blue checkmark.
I've never had it. I don't care about it. Everyone asked,
why don't you have a blue checkmark? Why aren't you verified?
Who cares? It's Twitter? This is the professional wrestling of
social media? Who cares? Who cares? Badge of honor? Now? Yeah?

(43:42):
Like what is it? Like? Oh you gotta like you're
the originals? Like what now? Because I can pay for
it I wanted all of a sudden, I don't care
if that makes people take me less serious on Twitter.
That's why, like somebody saying, hey, man, what's wrong with you?
What do you mean you're wearing makeup on Halloween? Who cares?
Did you ever think though it would be a badge
of honor to not have the check mark? Because that's

(44:05):
how it's going to be now yeah. See see, And
I know you're thinking, Oh, you didn't know that. You
just kind of fell into it. Now, this is my
plan all along. I knew that Elon Musk, after he
was done making cars that didn't need gas to drive,
I knew that he was gonna buying Twitter, and thus
I was actually gonna be one of the cool kids
who doesn't have a verified account. So look for eight

(44:26):
dollars a month people complaining about I got news for
you if you actually crunch the numbers. A lot of
us spend money on things that we probably don't need
to spend money on. During the course of a week,
and of course of a month and the course of
a year. Al Right, So it's eight dollars a month.
If you want to have a fancy blue check mark
next to your name and that makes you feel important,
go for it. I couldn't care less, don't care. I

(44:47):
don't block people. I don't get upset about anything. Thus
that guy calling me an f boy on Twitter and
me reading it on the air, who cares a terrorists?
By the way, you could, uh, you can go to
my Twitter account if you want to see the unedited
version of that. That's at the Jonas knocks on Twitter.
At the Jonas knocks on Twitter, the unedited version of

(45:08):
that tweet that was sent into me. There was another
one that I will not relay on the air because
not the time now, it's not the time in today's
climate to go ahead and throw that one out there.
But you can check that out and you don't even
have to follow me. I couldn't care less, don't care,
don't know how many followers I have, and I don't
care at all whatsoever. All Right, So let's let's talk
a little bit about what happened last week. So last

(45:31):
week I'm looking around the NFL schedule, and I felt
really good about a couple of things. Right I'm looking
at the Bears Cowboys game and I'm thinking to myself,
all right, what is the advantage for Chicago here, And
believe it or not, the advantage for Chicago is Justin Fields.
He's the best player on their offense. And by the way,
for a lot of people who gave me a hard

(45:52):
time when I defended Justin Fields earlier in the year
and I said, I'm telling you, I like this guy.
I like the way he's made, I like how he's built.
I'm telling you his the way he carries himself, and
the way he's playing. You're going to see a payoff
towards the end of the year if he can stay upright.
And the Chicago Bears and their Bear fans are all
of a sudden like wow. And they came away from

(46:13):
that game last week going, look, we know we lost
to the Cowboys, but at least we feel like we've
identified a quarterback that we could potentially build around. Thus,
they went out and they made the trade for Chase
Claypool this week. They want to see what they got,
and I think they like what they've got, so far
with Justin Fields. But one of my picks last week
was Justin Fields over forty seven and a half rushing yards.
I liked it it hit because I said the Dallas

(46:37):
pass rush, Chicago's offensive line has been makeshift at best.
They've been average at best at times. They can run
the football as good as anybody in football, but they
have a hard time protecting Justin Fields, and they've started
to use his legs more in that offense. Thus, Justin
Fields the overhit on forty seven and a half rushing yards.
Patriots Jets. I mean, come on, now, Patriots Jets. Last week,

(46:59):
like you're you're watching that game going, Ben mac Jones
isn't even playing that well. I mean, he wasn't playing
well at all. And still I like the Patriots in
that game because, as I said a week ago, it
just felt like the time to bet against the New
York Jets. They were feeling themselves. They've been rattling off
all these wins. You've got doormat Jets fans who are
bragging about how good their football team is, even though

(47:20):
everyone's trying to tell them you're playing a bunch of
backup quarterbacks. It's not that impressive, but the Jets fans
needed something to rally around. They had it. But we
like that the Patriots last week minus one and a
half on the road. Felt great about that one. That
was two wins in Knox Locks a week ago. And
then you're looking around and you see what's happening between
the Rams and the forty niners and I thought, there's

(47:41):
no possible way, there's absolutely no possible way that the
l A Rams are going to lose to the forty
Niners again. At some point, Sean mcveigh's gotta right the
wrong of the Kyle Shanahan uh debate, the Kyle Shanahan conversation,
and he's got to go ahead and try and figure
out how he can finally beat this guy in a

(48:03):
regular season And guess what happened. He didn't. So we
lost that one. It was a two and one performance
and Knox Locks a week ago. But we are back
to five hundred. Everybody get excited about the performance that
we put together. Scratch that we are not back to five.
Were one game under five hundred. I want to be
honest about things. We are one game under five hundred,
but we are fired up for a week nine edition

(48:23):
of Knox Locks. I think I have some winners identified,
So let's roll. Let no Knox Long, Packers and Lions.
I'm taking the Packers. Listen, I'm tired of the slander
on Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers. By the way, quietly,

(48:44):
Rogers has started to play better every week. I know
what you're saying. They've got all these losses stacked up
in a row. They've never been in this spot with
Aaron Rodgers at quarterback. I think the Packers bounced back.
I've heard some people throw out some stuff like they
think the Lions are a live dog in this matter
jub they think the Lions could actually compete at home.
I'm not buying it for a second. You know what

(49:05):
the Lions are. The Lions are what they've been majority
of the time for the last decade plus. They're the
worst team in the NFL. They're probably gonna be picking
number one in the draft, and they're probably gonna be
taking another quarterback. And I like Jared Goff more than
a lot of people do. He started to turn the
ball over a little bit more. You see what's happened
since since the beginning of the year, when everyone thought

(49:25):
hard knocks. Let's get fired up about it. You've already
got some coaching staff changes. Aaron Glenn, the defensive coordinators.
There's been a lot of conversation about him. I think
Rogers and the Packers get right this week. I like
Green Bay on the road minus the three or three
and a half Raiders at Jaguars. Come on, Raiders, for
Christ's sake. The hell was that at New Orleans last week.

(49:48):
You've got members of the Fox Sports radio family who
literally stopped watching the game and stopped drinking at the
same time because they were so disgusted by what the
Raiders put on the field at New Orleans last week
in a Dennis Allen revenge game. So guess what's gonna
happen the Raiders respond if they're too good not to.
I don't care that there are a point and a
half favorite on the road at Jacksonville. I don't care

(50:10):
that it's an early kickoff again, and that could be
a little bit dicey. There's way too much talent there.
Josh McDaniels is a much better coach, and a lot
of people are having conversations about right now. I think
they get back to establishing the run. I like the
Raiders on the road at Jacksonville, and who knows, maybe
they'll do what the Dodgers did years ago when the
Dodgers jumped in the swimming pool in Arizona after they

(50:30):
beat the Diamondbags. If I'm the Raiders, I go take
care of business against Jacksonville and then climb up the steps,
hop in one of those pools and play Marco Polo
while you're waiting for the buses. Because Jacksonville stinks like
they have, just like the Lions over the last ten
years plus. Give me Las Vegas Rams and Buccaneers. This
is nothing against the l a Rams. I'm not trying

(50:52):
to sit here and say that I'm holding a grudge
because they cost me a win and the opportunity to
get back to five hundred or better last week. I'm
not doing that. I refuse to do that. I'll simply
say this, I like the Tampa Bay Buccaneers here. I
like the Bucks minus the three. I believe this little
mini bye week, following the divorce and all the other

(51:14):
conversation and things like that, they're starting to get some
key members of the defense back as well. To in
Tampa Bay. I think Tampa Bay responds, I'm not throwing
dirt on tom Brady's grave. I refuse to. This is
the time he's got all the other things behind him.
You know where you stand in the relationship. The fact
that that's even a conversation in this whole uh situation

(51:34):
in Tampa Bay is ridiculous. But thus that's where we are.
I like Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Now
it's gonna be a little bit tricky because if you've
paid close enough attention to the Bucks Rams matchups, since
tom Brady has gotten there, the Rams have dominated tom
Brady and the Buccaneers. They have, let me call what
it is, the l a ramp. Since Tom Brady has

(51:54):
gotten there, are undefeated against Tom Brady. And we know
what happened in the playoff game last year where Tom
Brady tried to bring his team back. They looked fantastic.
There was some blown coverage in the secondary Cooper Cup
got loose. The Rams win that game go on to
win the Super Bowl. I think Tampa responds, the Rams
are banged up there, a shell of themselves from a
year ago. You could make the argument for Tampa Bay,

(52:16):
but I think at home, knowing they need to answer
back and knowing they're getting key pieces back on that defense.
I think Tampa. I think Tom and the Bucks respawn.
I like the Buccaneers minus the three at home. And
that is your Week nine edition of Knox Locks starting
to feel it, baby, second of the season. That's where

(52:38):
we roll, that's where we shine. Who God, that Rams
forty game pissed me off last week, Like, and I
don't want to hear anything like Sean McVeigh can try
and say, well, you know, he can spin it every once.
The fact that you can't beat your friend stings, it
hurts more. It's like like there are certain friends I

(52:58):
won't play in a video game, and I don't even
play video games, but I won't compete with them because
I don't want to feel the way that I feel afterwards,
because I'm afraid it's going to ruin a friendship because
I'm probably gonna lose and I can't control my anger
and my emotions. Sean McVeigh, that was actually me earlier,
Sean McVeigh. I believe it gnaws at him that he

(53:21):
can't beat the San Francisco forty niners. And then you've
got to go on the road and play Tampa Bay,
who also needs a win. It's amazing what's happened to
these two franchises, But I think Tampa gets it done man.
So there it is your weeknight edition of Knox Locks
here on Fox Sports Radio from the entire act dot
Com studios tell you picking winners here on this show.
Got the Breeders Cup going on winning, We got Knox Locks.

(53:45):
There's an opportunity to make money out there. Yeah, the
lottery out there. There are ways that you can make
some cash here in the world of sports. By the way,
get in. You need to lock into Countdown to Kickoff.
That's right, Fox Sports Radio's Countdown to Kickoff. Be sure
to tune in FSRS Countdown to kick Off presented by

(54:06):
bet MGM. It's every Saturday and Sunday morning three hours
before kickoff. You can tune in Saturday mornings at nine
am Eastern Time and tomorrow morning Sunday at ten am
Eastern Time. That's tomorrow at ten am Eastern time as
we take you live all the way to kick Off
on Fox Sports Radio and the I Heart Radio app
presented by bet MGM. Coming up next though, we are

(54:28):
going to take you live to the scene of one
of the great events all year long in the world
of sports. It's yours next year on fs are Jonas
Knocks Fox Sports Radio from the entire act dot Com studios.
Coming up, we'll call it a little over ten minutes
from now. Uh. It's it's pretty funny. There's a situation

(54:53):
that is happening in the NFL where it's it's really
obvious what this person is doing. It's really the obvious
what what it is that they are trying to accomplish
with one of their star players. Unfortunately, everybody on the
outside knows the truth. So we will have that discussion
because it's involving one of the better teams in the

(55:13):
NFL who just have a reality on their hands that
maybe some people within the organization don't want to realize.
So we'll have that for you here coming up on
fs R. All right, so we're going to go now
live to Keenlan, the beautiful keen Lan Race Course in Lexington, Kentucky.
It is the site of the Breeders Cup, the Breeders

(55:35):
Cup World Championships that are live. They're from iconic Keenland.
They are underway with the big races coming up all
day today and later on it's the classic don't miss
the World's Best Thoroughbred's Race for their share of thirty
one million dollars in purses and awards. Visit Breeders Cup
dot com to watch all the action live today. And

(55:57):
now we go live there to Keenly. As we mentioned,
it is the great Andy Ferman Fox Sports radio host
and you can hear him every Sunday morning, six am
Eastern Time, with the great Bucky Brooks as well to
everybody's great here. I mean Bucky Brooks is my former
co host. Uh Andy Ferman, former colleague. I got to

(56:17):
see Andy Ferman yesterday. He looks he looks better than ever.
Uh he's he's also you know, somebody who likes to
get down and bet on some of the horse races
and have a little bit of fun. Andy, What the
hell is going on? How's keen Lynd? How's the scene
in the set up there is compared to yesterday morning?
You know, I've got to clear something up first before
we move on. Okay, you have a lot of nerve

(56:39):
to send me back here to Keenland today and clean
up your mess, because everybody was asking me here today
who is that guy that you were with yesterday? He
looked like a rag Melton. I mean, there is a
dress code here and obviously you didn't follow it, Brady
Quinn did I did? You didn't, And I have to
take the cup day. I'm back here, all right, So

(57:02):
let me explain what happened, all right? Um, So I
didn't know, all right, this this is a true story.
This actually happened yesterday, yesterday morning. It wasn't Friday. It's
all a blur at this point. So we get in
and I know that we're doing the show live from
the track. So I wore, like, you know, in a
cute little cute little hat, you know, like a little hat.

(57:23):
I figured it's early in the morning. Now I wore
more than a hat. Maybe you were hoping I didn't
wear more than a hat. But by the way, there's
probably multiple ways you could take that joke, so get
your minds out of the gunner. But so, you know,
we show up to the track and I'm wearing, like,
you know, a nice little, nice little jacket from my
friends and express. You know, I got a little white
v net going and I'm thinking this is appropriate where

(57:45):
the horse track it's early in the morning. It's not
the actual race. Of course, I would have gotten dressed
up for the actual race, but I said, I want
to take it all in and feel comfortable. And what happens.
You show up in a suit, Brady Quinn shows up
in a suit, And in fact, we go to waffle
house before the show, Brady Quinn and I because we

(58:06):
wanted to get a coffee. We walk into waffle house.
There's nobody in the entire restaurant, and the dude behind
the counter goes, where are you guys going prom And
I thought, all right, this is already gonna be a doozy.
So we ended up getting to the track, and of
course I was a little bit underdressed for the occasion,
but I'm gonna go with you. Guys were over Let

(58:28):
me give you the rest of the story. Okay, that's
just parcel of the story. When we get to the track,
a couple of people that trust, by the way, Son,
the barns over here, they thought you were bucking stalls.
That's the rail store that was embarrassed for you. You know,
I love you. I was embarrassed for you. I defended you.
And today when I came here today I had defend
you again with that guy. I said, he's in the stalls,

(58:49):
like I don't know. Yeah. And by the way, speaking
of stalls, the best part about being in the stall
next to Andy is he tells you over the wall, Hey,
get a load of my new watch, like that's it's
always the too for Andy. All right, So let me
just let's look, let me let me for a second. Yeah,
please do We got real LUCKI esterday about seventy seventy
five degrees sunny, not a cloud the sky today cloudy, overcast,

(59:13):
threaten of rain, rain yet, but the wind is blowing
with twenty five It is unreal. People are holding onto
the apps here. They're watering down the track so heavily
right now because the dirt is flowing all over the place.
Let the track is listed as fast, but I gotta
believe it's so much that it is good. I don't
think it's a fast track. They're soaking it down with

(59:35):
water because of the dirt floating around with the wind.
It's unreal here today. Yes, okay, see that's what we need.
We need we need inclement weather. We need issues like
that to pop up. Andy, because I don't know if
you recall yesterday we gave out our picks on the show,
and I went with Happy Saber, who is the biggest
long shot, also dealing with a little bit of an issue.
He had a crack apparently that they've repaired and and

(59:58):
he's and he's ready to go. But the talk about
these horses like it's some broken down Volvo in a
parking lot somewhere. It's got a little bit of a crack.
But other than that, it should be ready to go
when you when you go to take it for a spin.
But I went with Happy Saber. So I gotta know,
first of all, give some advice to people that want
to get down and bet on the Breeder's Cup coming
up later on in the classic. All right, and then

(01:00:21):
make a pick. Why don't you have a pair of balls?
I didn't make it. Pick here, you have a pair
of balls, Andy Firm? All right, this is the guy
by the way, and I got down. Don't you worry
about okay, let me tell you, by the way, For
those of you that argue, hey, why isn't so and
so in the Hall of Fame, you were listening to
Andy Firm and the man who I say is single

(01:00:42):
handedly responsible for Pete Roses gambling fetish, and he's the
reason Pete Rose is not in the Hall of Fame.
So take accountability for yourself, Andy, and for your actions
in your past, and get a pair of hanging downs
and make a pick on the Breeders Cup Classic Rose
and his desire to wager. I just happen to be

(01:01:02):
the pr guy at Latonia Racecourse in Florence, Kentucky when
he would kind of camp out there on a nightly
basis during the winter months. I can't control it. I
can't control it. Was a two fisted gambler. I can't
help it. I love I love seeing him there, I
love having it there. He was of the toad land,
that's what he was valuable to the race. And you

(01:01:23):
look at the toad board, you could tell when Pete
Rose was not there or when he was firing through
the windows. Hold on a second, are you being serious?
What are you serious when you say he was responsible
for of all the bets at the entire track we
would race. Here's the deal. Latonia Racecourse race from November
through April at night. Okay, figure out how many people

(01:01:46):
are gonna show up on a Wednesday night January the eighth,
when it's eight degrees outside to the racetrack. Pete roses
day with maybe five other people, and you know, you
look at the odds flashing on the toad board, and
all of a sudden you see one horse going from
one to three to two. Did everybody say, oh, Pete here,
Pete here, that's it. That's how much Pete Rose gambled

(01:02:09):
that he was responsible, did did filled with money? That
is fantastic. Pete Rose ahead of his time. And I
loved that death. And he should be in the Hall
of Fame. Yeah, well he's not because he used. I
hope you're happy about the whole of fame and they're
racing all of fame and he was good, tremendous. I

(01:02:29):
was surprised you didn't hear the booze there in California,
the booze here when he had like a couple of
horses racing early on today, I thought that, I thought
that was you walking by. I thought that was I
didn't know Bob Bafford was in the house. But but alright, So,
by the way, Andy Firman, Mike North is joining us
here on Fox Sports Radio, and Mike would like to

(01:02:49):
give his opinion on what he feels about you while
you were live in Keenlan. Mike North, what are your thoughts?
This guy is a terrorist? Alright? So well, this guy's
always on top. Thanks submarine. Okay, so apparently so apparently,
Mike Door, this waited all right? So Andy Furman, all right,
now is the time make a pick, all right, give
some advice and make a p This is the Wethers

(01:03:12):
This is the winner of the race, of the big race,
a mile of a quarter six million dollar purse. Life
is good. Life is good as one nine of eleven races.
And I think that's the course that's going to challenge
flight Line. Everybody's about fly you know. You know what's
so great about this race? Everybody and every sport needs
somewhat of as a controversy who's the best? I mean,

(01:03:33):
in basketball it was always m J. L. Kobe, who's
the best Chamberlain? Or Russell, who's the best Mantle or
or Maze who's the best? Now in racing, right now,
flight Line one of the sports all time grades. Should
flight Line maybe be regarded alongside maybe Secretariat or a
man of war. So that's the key right now, And
that's that's why a flight line should perhaps lose this

(01:03:55):
race is it's gonna hurt the sport. If he wins,
it will go down in the annals of racing one
of the greatest old time performers in racing. Look at that.
So you're going to go ahead with life is good? Uh.
The morning Lions odds were sitting at six to one
for life is good. Uh, So you're gonna go with
life is good. I've got Happy Savor at thirty to one. Regardless,
it's going to be a fun, fun race to watch.

(01:04:17):
It's been fantastic Keenlan Race Course. I'm telling you. For
anybody listening, it's like anybody that's told you it's a
beautiful track, they're under selling it. It's one of the
nicest venues I've ever been to. Absolutely phenomenal stuff there.
So Andy Ferman, it's a blue don't belong in. Thank you.
I appreciate it, all right. So that is that is

(01:04:39):
a very kind Andy Furman On Twitter you can find
him at Andy Ferman fs are Uh. And again, the
next time you see Pete Rose slinging autographs outside the
Forum shops at Caesar's Palace, just understand he's there because
the Andy Furman. So there we go live in the
Freeders Cup. Andy, we'll be listening tomorrow with you and
Bucky Brooks six and Eastern Tip n fs are my guy,

(01:05:02):
the great Andy Ferman with us here on fs R
live from Keenland. Unbelievable, all right, so two guys is
enough for me, that guy alright, so you can get
me on Twitter at the Jonas Knocks. Coming up next,
we are going to talk about somebody in the NFL.
It's painfully obvious to everybody else, but apparently they're still

(01:05:23):
still holding out hope for the return of one of
the all time greats in their minds. So we'll get
into that for you here on Fox Sports Radio for
all the latest from around the world of sports. Though,
ladies and gentlemen, make some noise from Moncy take you. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

(01:05:50):
That's what it's like. Is it me or is it
the sound bite? All right, that's the question. Let's see
if we can figure it out. All right, go ahead,
let's try this game on the air. Let's see if
we cant figure it out. Okay, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,
yeah yeah. I can't wait to hear it ten years later.

(01:06:13):
So so good. Well, guys, we've got four college football
games in the books. Number two Ohio State was taking
on Northwestern. The Buckeyes were off to a slow start,
but they got it going in the second half and
beat the Wildcats twenty one to seven. Quarterback CG. Stroud
struggled with the wind. The weather was not in anybody's favor.
He only completed ten of twenty six passes for seventy

(01:06:36):
six yards. Number seven TCU outscored Texas Tech forty two
to twenty four. No problem. Number seventeen North Carolina took
on Virginia and they held on to beat them thirty
one to twenty eight. It got real close there at
the end. Tar Heels quarterback Drake May through for two
hundred and ninety three yards and two touchdowns. He also
rushed for seventy one yards and one touchdown. Wide receiver

(01:06:58):
Josh Downs had fifteen receptions, are a hundred and sixty
six yards and a touchdown to Lane Handel Tulsa thirteen
holding the Golden Hurricane to just a field goal in
the second half, and we've got plenty more come in
when it comes to college football later today, though, though,
I think the biggest game today will be Game six
of the World Series between the Astros Boo and the Phillies.

(01:07:21):
The Astros do lead the series three to to. This
game will be on Fox at eight pm Eastern Time,
and then in other sports, have you ever punched somebody? Jonas?
Oh yeah, come on, yeah, yeah, have you been punched? Well?
Former NBA guard Ben Gordon, who has been in the

(01:07:44):
news lately for not good reasons, was arrested in Chicago
after punching a security guard in the face at McDonald's
at like three in the morning, right, so mad at McDonald's,
get your fries. Think you're in the morning, Come on,
what are you doing? That's uh. Plus he also had
the other issue, apparently, yes, punching his son at the

(01:08:07):
airport airport where like somebody was saying that his son
dropped a book, so he punched him in the face
multiple times. Apparently. Yeah. So clearly he likes punching people.
And it doesn't matter if you're a security guard at
McDonald's or your son. Apparently he's gonna do it. No
going off, no going off, Sam, You're an idiot. Yeah yeah,

(01:08:31):
Like you give Sam a board of sound drops and
he's like a little kid walking by a piano. He
can't help himself. He's got to hit everything, and you
use them all so well, yes, and it's yea. Minnesota's
Rudy Gobert has apparently entered the health and safety protocols
of the NBA, so he is out tonight against the Rockets.

(01:08:52):
They should be fine. It's the Rockets, let's be real.
And the Falcons are activating running back Cord cor Darryl
Patterson off the injured reserve today, so he's gonna be
back in action tomorrow against the Chargers, who have nobody playing.
That's that's true, So it's gonna be fun. Go Chargers
back to Thank you Monsey. That's the same old story

(01:09:14):
with the lh R can not stay healthy. I don't
know what it is. I've been saying this for a
few weeks. I think Brandon Staley's in trouble. And I look,
I know that. I mean, yeah, I believe that he's
a good coach. But there's factor in question. Underwhelming performance,
his fourth down, his tendency to go for it on

(01:09:35):
fourth down. I mean, look, they're lucky the Browns missed
that kick. Girls, we'd be having a different conversation after
he went forward on fourth down at midfield total with
an opportunity to pun it deep and pin them back.
But it just feels like with the injuries, although they're
not his fault, there's now a narrative around him. And
when you've got Sean Payton sitting out there and the
potential to acquire Sean Payton, you'd have to probably give

(01:09:55):
up some draft capital, but you've got Justin Herbert. It
just seems to like we could be looking at the
end if Brandon Staleo doesn't get this thing turned out.
What your mirror ball is telling you, the future does
not look right for the Bolt. Is it really an idiot?
You just know you? Sam? Have you ever watched Parks
and Recreation here and there? But there's like a radio

(01:10:19):
station that's part of the show and the drops that
they use in that in that segment, every time they
go to this, it's the douche on the radio. Sam
and I have been working together too long that we
just we're on the same page where to go. I
had that Jimmy Kimmel bite ready for ages and I've
never used it, and I was like, you know what,
I can use it right now, by ways, Jimmy Kimmel

(01:10:39):
still get a bowl game? Is there still a bowl game?
Jimmy Kimmel, Kimmy Kimmel Bowl. We'll have to look into that.
Is it still Is that happening for another year? My god? Not.
If there's ever been a bowl game I couldn't care
less about. It's a Jimmy Kimmel Bowl, the Adam Corolla Bowl.
I'd rather watch that Lisa be Entertainment Show Bowl. By
the way, really quick, Monsey to, did you say his

(01:11:00):
mirror pall? Yeah, a disco duc I was, yeah, I said,
do you mean magic eight balls? Yeah? I was obviously
on Dancing with the Stars, my nerrorball, magic eight ball?
Who cares? There's something else? No, no, crystal ball. Maybe
that's what I was thinking, Mario crystal crystal ball. Yeah,

(01:11:23):
Mario crystal ball. Very good. Uh, you're just in rare form.
All right. It is Jonas Knocks here on Fox Sports Trader.
Get me on Twitter at the Jonas Knocks and we
will have another edition of the Scraps coming up live
from the Tirack dot Com studios in about we'll call
it less than ten minutes from now. I do want
to mention this before we get to break. So it's
pretty obvious what Jerry Jones is doing. Everybody who watches

(01:11:46):
the Dallas Cowboys sees Tony Pollard's the best back, like
he has a burst that Zeke Elliott doesn't have anymore.
He's producing at a high clip. You saw what he
getting did against the Bears, and yes it's the Bears
and they're on defense has been poor, but it's not
just that game. You've seen other instances where it looks
different when he's got the football. But Jerry Jones keeps

(01:12:09):
talking like, oh, no, no, no, it's back to Zeke.
It's back to Zeke. You know he comes back healthy
and no, no, it's gonna be back to Zeke, and
and he's going to be the guy moving forward against
Green Bay and all that stuff. But it's so obvious
to everybody who watches the team, Tony Paul it's the
better back right now. It's just it is what it is.
But it's like Jerry Jones is justifying what he paid

(01:12:30):
for Zeke Elliott and doesn't want to acknowledge that he
might have gotten a little bit burnt on a deal
and maybe Zeke hasn't been the same guy since he
signed that contract, which is the facts. I mean, there's
been one guy that I can recall at the running
back position who's actually continued to produce at a high
level after he got paid, and that's Derrick Henry. But

(01:12:50):
other than that Zeke Christian McCaffrey. You go to a
lot of these guys who have gotten paid at the
running back position, and a lot of them haven't really produced.
L e. Beon Bell is now a boxer after he
signed that deal with the Jets. Like Jerry Jones, we
get it all right, You're you're not gonna get the
return on investment that you probably thought you were gonna

(01:13:11):
get when you made the deal, and you got a
little bit. You know, you got one up to on
the contract negotiations. He got to hang out in Mexico
while you guys were trying to get a deal done,
and he ended up getting paid. But the fact of
the matter is, anybody with a pair of eyes that
works halfway decently can see Tony Pollard's the best back.
I know what Jerry's trying to do. He wants to
make it seem like they're still the same. Zeke in

(01:13:32):
there somewhere there's not. It doesn't mean he can't be effective.
They've got a two back system. It's why they're a
legitimate threat in the NFC to the Eagles, who have
had issues stopping the run. But I think it's pretty
obvious to everybody Tony Pollard's the best back there. Jonas
Knocks Fox Sports Radio, Get me on Twitter at the
Jonas Knocks. Coming up next, We've got some things in
the world of sports that we have not had a

(01:13:53):
chance to get to. We're gonna put a bow on
this bad boy. It's the Scraps and it's yours right
here on fs R Jonas Knox Fox Sports Radio. You
can listen to this show as always on the I
Heart Radio app. Coming up top of next hour, we'll
call it little Over ten minutes from now from the
entire rac dot Com studios. It's gonna be Steve Hartman
and e from Salam who will be taking over these airwaves.

(01:14:16):
They will give you wall to wall coverage of the
game of the day. In college football, We've got one
versus three, Tennessee and Georgia in Athens, with Tennessee looking
to take an early lead, their field goal attempt pending
there about five minutes gone in the first quarter, and
it is up and it is good. And the number
one ranked team of the country, Tennessee, close to nine
point underdogs, but they think about that number one team

(01:14:39):
of the country and nine point underdogs on the road,
but they have an early three nothing lead there. So
stick around. Steve and e from will have you covered
on that stuff here uh for for the next couple
hours here on Fox Sports Radio and welcome to the
Fox Sports Radio Tailgate presented by the Big Green Egg.

If you missed any of this show, you can check
out the podcast at Fox Sports Radio dot com. I
will post that via my Twitter account after it goes
up live. But right now it's time for this, Jonas,
how could you not get to these stories? Are the

(01:15:23):
scraps all right? Danny? G The hell have we missed
so far on the show? Well, Jonas, you didn't have
time to get to this. Dan Snyder retained via A
Securities to potentially sell the Washington Commanders five billion dollars
is what we're hearing. I mean, can we just get
this over with like this, I'm so tired of hearing

(01:15:45):
about all the bad things that have happened with the
with the organization. I'm tired of hearing about the name change.
I'm tired of hearing about the stadium issues. I'm like,
let's just get this over with. It's like, either sell
the team or don't sell or forever hold your p
that's it. Sell the team or don't sell the team,
and then can we move on with our lives so
they can actually like play football and Ron Rivera can

(01:16:08):
actually coach a team and not have to worry about,
you know, all the other stories that come out. Also,
by the way, I would like to point this out,
I do think that Washington is a live underdog against
the Minnesota Vikings tomorrow, and if it happens, I blame
ESPN for something because when ESPN came out with that

(01:16:28):
story about Dan Snyder having all the dirt on the
owners and all the stuff that the private investigators, and
you know, he's got all this all this dirt on
Roger Goodell and all that stuff. Remember that story came out.
Since that story came out from ESPN, Washington hasn't lost
a game. So if they go on a run, here
blame ESPN for why Dan Snyder's football team is on

(01:16:50):
a four game win streak. If they pull it off
tomorrow against the Minnesota Vikings, just say it all right.
The Bang Bang Astros are up three games to two
in the World Series. Tonight games it's on Fox eight PM,
First Pitch Eastern Time. Wheeler and Valdez on the bump.
What are you thinking tonight game six? Well, listen to
my Astros. I mean they've started to perform. Well, you

(01:17:15):
know these o b It's so funny. Look, sometimes I'm
guilty of just sitting back and watching chaos. I think
it's hilarious. Like I just I find it funny. I
can't help myself. If the Astros win the World Series
and it looks like they're going to the Dodger fans

(01:17:36):
are going to lose their mind, I mean lose their like, Like,
what do you like Danny Well, Dusty Baker is a
legendary Dodger, though first and foremost come on but the
Giants for so I know, and I hate to see
him win one as an astro, but I would like
to see Dusty win a world series. By the way,
does Dusty still use the toothpick? Oh? Yeah, all right,

(01:17:58):
because here's the like some of the other things I've
noticed about Dusty Baker, He's been using wrist bands for years.
Like do you remember back in the day when jackass
was popular and like guys started wearing wristbands on their
on their forearms. That was like trucker hats were the
trucker hat von Dutch wristband a like that. Dusty Bakers

(01:18:19):
was wearing wristbands well before anybody else and long before
the late great Razor Ramons Scott Hall. Dusty Baker, I
think was using a toothpick in his mouth. So he's
a real trendsetter, that Dusty Baker. And maybe they'll win
a world series this weekend. Who knows his uh, rubber
bands and wristbands and toothpick. That's your pinky ring, thumb ring. Listen,

(01:18:43):
it's like you don't don't you mess with my jewelry
like that? All right, let's get it right and say
thumb ring. But I can't go, I'll go pinky ring.
If it needs to happen, I'll They'll transition no problem quickly.
A one air dog named Van Goh is channeling his
namesake by using his tongue to create works of art
at a Connecticut rescue. He's a seven year old boxer
pit bull mix who was rescued from a North Carolina

(01:19:05):
dog fighting ring. Jackline Gartner, the founder of the rescue group,
