Speaker 1 (00:01):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio. I'm still out of
breath from what happened in Buffalo. My goodness, welcome in.
It is weeks that as we are broadcasting live for
the tire iraq dot com studios, Tirac dot com will
help you get there an unmatched selection, fast, free shipping,
free road hazard protection and over ten thousand recommended installers.
Tirac dot com. The way tire buying should be Bernie
(00:23):
Fratto of the seat of one seat that George Rister
usually occupies, Bertie. What a week you picked to hang
out on Fox Sports Red Zone Radio, Dan, I'm not
only out of breath, I think I'm in concussion protocol
after watching that game. Great to be with you. And
you know, there's an old Chinese proverb that says me,
you live in interesting times. And when you look at
(00:44):
today's sports tapestry and today's sports landscape, it's like nothing
we've ever had before any time in history. And when
you couple that with the fact and we don't have
royalty in this country. Are athletes and are entertainers. They
are our royalty. The NFL owned a day of the week,
and what completes the trifecta is that sports or a
shared experience. We all want to talk about it, we
(01:05):
all want to react, we all want to blow get
bragging rights, old fashioned sports debates. That's where we come in, buddy.
So I'm glad to be with you today, and usually
when I'm not, I'm home listening. So let's have some
fun today. Well, let's let's do it. And I would
say that I would think that all football fans were
probably sharing in the craziness of what happened in Buffalo
between the Vikings and Bills. However, we do need to
(01:28):
recognize that portion of the audience that, due to NFL rules,
were unable to watch the conclusion of the Vikings Bills
game because they had a different game in the market.
And I know this didn't happen, uh everywhere across the country,
but it happened in a lot of places. Because a
lot of the country is getting the Cowboys and Packers
(01:50):
game right now. We're based in southern California, at least
I am we have the Cardinals and Rams game that
was the game locally that was put on instead of
the over time between the Vikings and Bills. Just an
amazing I even put it up on Twitter. Bertie. By
the way, you can get Bernie on Twitter at Bernie
Frat will find me on Twitter at Dan Buyer on
Fox and what the transition was like when Kurt Menefee
(02:13):
had to come in and break the news to the
millions that due to NFL rules, they had to switch games.
This is nothing new. This is actually something that we've
seen before the NFL. But to have it happened today
just absolutely crazy. And what was a crazy game in Buffalo.
You know, I'm I'm fortunate that I have the NFL
Sunday tickets, so I saw almost the whole game. What
(02:36):
am I missing? Dan? Are they replaying Heidi? Today's I
was going on the way way back reference. Here's the
other thing. I will give a direct TV credit as well.
A lot of times when those games are removed from
the screens and and it's usually if you go to
that channel on the on the ticket, the game is
(02:56):
blacked out. They did not have it blacked out, so
I've got the ticket here, was able to switch over
and the game was good to go. But there is
a time there's sometimes a little leg period where where
you who had to you would have to wait for
the game to be brought up because they weren't sure
if it should still be blacked out, so at least
they were on top of that. But we didn't miss anyone.
(03:18):
Kenny Stabler, is that is that a good reference to
the Heidi game? You're all You're all over, Dan. It
was a game against the Jets back in the sixties
against we had the Raiders trailed by three touchdowns with
like three or four minutes to go, and they pulled
away to Heidi, which was what the national audience wanted.
And of course the Raiders came back and it became
an infinitous game. But the main thing today, Dan, I
(03:40):
think is the result. And here's the Vikings are really
a developing story after today. Now they've won seven in
a row, all by one score, and the bigger story
today for me, outside of the fact we didn't know
what was happening with Josh Allen is Leslie Fraser brought
the number one defense into this game and the Vikings
(04:01):
put up over five hundred yards. That's saying something. And
when you consider this is the only game on the
entire slate today where both teams were over five hundred,
it's just you know, we expected it to be the
game of the week and it lived up to it.
Now you take a look at the Vikings. They're riding
high after winning two games in a row on the road.
(04:21):
They not go home for three straight. This is becoming
an interesting storyline. I'll say this. Last week I crowned
Minnesota as Minnesota. I thought that they were very mid
I thought that they were very average. They did not
play an average football game today. But I do think
we need to realize Bernie and I know Viking fans
(04:42):
are not gonna want to hear this on how much
actually had to go their way today and a tip
of the cap to win a game that right now
is the best win I think that we've got in
the National Football League. Maybe the Eagles home win over
the Vikings in Week two gets better and better for
what Minnesota did today. But this is this is my
issue with it, and it's with Minnesota. It's you need
(05:06):
to cash in, you know, it's it's it's make it
take it, win by two. It's you know, backing up
what you just did. And you're right, this team is rolling.
But how long is it sustainable to win by one score?
How long is it sustainable that you're gonna go and
find a team that's got a quarterback that's got a
bump elbow, and we had no idea if he was
going to practice all week. How many times do you
pick two passes off into the end zone. How many
(05:28):
times do you need a prayer for a fourth and
eight teen on a one handed catch to keep your
game drive alive? How many times do you have a
team fumble at the one inch line where you recover
it for a touchdown and ended up taking a lead late?
Like they like it said a lot of good things here,
But next week Dallas, Dallas on their schedule, as you mentioned,
they got a string of home games. I want to
(05:49):
see it next week. A lot had to go right
for Minnesota to get this win today. And even though
it went well today, the point about the one score
thing is still there, like this thing still hangs in
the balance, and it's it's out there with Minnesota. That's
why a great, great win. I'm just not a believer
right now. A lot had to go their way to
win today's game. Perhaps justin Jefferson is the elixir. When
(06:13):
you play back history, the trade would have been Stefon
Diggs for Justin Jefferson. He made play after play, sensational play.
When he was bracketed double teamed, went up, Cousins threw
him open, notwithstandings, you know the requisite. Kirk Cousins bad
throws throughout the game. Throughout the game. Let's remember, Dan,
Buffalo at one point had a two touchdown lead in
(06:34):
this game. I thought it would be game, set match
and the Vikings would keep playing, but Buffalo would close
it out. They hadn't lost at home all year, and
again you've got Leslie Fraser's number one defense. To your point, though, Dan,
and because you spent a great part of your life
in that area of the country, the Vikings are always
going to be a victim of their own past foibles
(06:56):
until they actually get over the hump. They've been to
Force Straights, they went to four Super Bowls as a franchise,
haven't been to one, what since nineteen seventy seven when
they lost to the Raiders. Fran Tarkington went on Saturday
Night Live the following week and says, Hi, I'm Fran Tarkington,
quarterback in the Minnesota Vikings. We've gone to four Super
Bowls and we've lost all four and you know what,
(07:18):
We're gonna go back next year and we're gonna lose again.
So insert your own joke, the missfield goal in ninety
nine against Atlanta, whatever the case, maybe until they get
over that hompdon Your premise is solid. The Vikings are
doing it now, but they'll only remember what you did
in December if you close it out in January. If
if Minnesota came out in this game, Bernie, and it
(07:41):
was like boom, Vikings were here were the freaking Minnesota Vikings.
This is us, here we are. I'm buying more into it.
I really am your your point. They're down by two scores.
Before Dalvin Cook ripped off his eighty one yard touchdown run,
it was twenty seven to ten. So the Vikings store
have a lot to lose in these scenarios, and and
(08:02):
and then the again, just the breaks that they that
they got, like things that that went their way, even
just starting with Josh Allen hardly practicing all week and
still suiting up today, still through for three yards, still
had guys running everywhere. And it's the point of backing
it up. You mentioned the Vikings and the lack of
Super Bowl victories. Oh and four, if you're eight and
(08:25):
one great win today. Don't celebrate Week ten like it's
a super Bowl. This team is in what the NFC
Championship game five years ago, game away from from getting
back to the super Bowl. This isn't I know it's
Kevin O'Connell's first season, but I'm just there's still Minnesota
to me until they back it up and they've got
an opportunity opportunity to do it next week. That's not
(08:46):
very the lead. You just said something there that might
be the difference maker. Kevin O'Connell, he knows what his
super Bowl team looks like. He was an outstanding offensive
mine under Sean McVeigh. He's brought that kind of offensive
prowess to Minnesota and it was the tail of two halves.
Today this game is like a you know, a book
all and of itself, because Buffalo did lead it to half,
(09:08):
but in the second half, Minnesota outscored uh the Bill's
twenty seven or check that, twenty three to six. So
for whatever reason, Buffalo's offense couldn't get going in the
second half when it needed to, and you have to
give Minnesota's defense a little credit as well. Patrick Peterson
coming up with the big pick to see the game.
(09:29):
It's hard for you to accept it. I get it's
almost like a cub fan, but I think, what you
gotta do In the National Football League, there's so much
parody right now, Dan, there just are no great put
them away teams like the Packers of the sixties and
the Steelers in the seventies, or the Niners of the
eighties or the Dallas Cowboys of the nineties are the
paths of this millennium. We're in a league. We're through
(09:50):
seventy nine games this year. They had already been game Actually,
there had been seventy nine games already this year decided
by one score or less. That's an NFL record. And
there's a hundred four games played so far this year
where it was a one score game heading into the
final seven minutes of the game. So this is the
NFL now, where you win, you move on, you survive
(10:12):
in advance. And I think at the end of the
year they don't ask Kyle just how many you are? Right?
The Vikings were the beneficiary today of a lot of
oddball situations, but to their credit, they managed to take
advantage of them. Do you that's tough to catapult when
you're writing one, do you think it does catapult them?
You alluded to it earlier. Do you think now the
string of home games Cowboys, Patriots and Jets next up
(10:33):
for them, do you think this does catapult them? Put
them into that conversation still, you know, challenging the Eagles
for that number one overall see in the NFC. Well,
it's a very good question because for the first time
in a long time now they are a genuine expectations
and you know, Dan darn well, you've been doing this
a long time. All of a sudden, quantum physics takes
(10:53):
over and everybody's expecting you to do well. That really
changes the dynamic. So what do I expect to happen?
I don't expect the Vikings to actually go three, you know,
in that stretch and then though maybe there will be
questions again, so I think we could have to let
it play itself out. But we do know this. The
Vikings will go to the playoffs. Mathematically, it's almost impossible
to blow and not when the NFC North. So they're
(11:14):
gonna get one home playoff game, and I think you'd
take it from there. You bring up a good point, though,
you would think this might energizing, but you never know
how teams deal with success when they haven't had a
lot of it. Yeah, I give it a big fat Nope.
I don't think it catapults them. I think it's a great,
great win, a great win today. Don't want to take
anything away, especially for a league that is so mid
(11:37):
that we talked a lot about on this show. I
don't want to take anything away again. But I guess
I'm taking everything away Bertie by saying a lot had
to go their way for the Minnesota Vikings today to
get that win. They get it over the Bills thirty
three to thirty overtime. There are three games in our
late window today. The Colts continue to leave the Raiders
tend Nothing Monty told you at the top hasn't changed.
(11:57):
Nearing the two minute warning, Raiders are in Indianapolis Territory,
though facing a third and eight from the Colts, forty four,
Cardinals and Rams without starting quarterbacks for both teams. Three
three early in the second quarter, while in Green Bay,
Ceedee Lamb has gotten into the end zone for the Cowboys.
Three are touchdown pass from Dak Prescott. Aaron Rodgers just
(12:17):
turned it over on a fumble and the Cowboys are
knocking on the door again. Eight minutes to go until halftime,
Cowboys facing a second and goal from the nine yard line,
up seven nothing on Green Bay. Get Bernie on Twitter

late window. What is the Dysfunction Bowl? We'll tell you

Bertie Fratto, I'm Dan Bayer. Welcome to Week ten of
the National Football League season. As we are live from
the TIREC dot Com studios, and we've got back to
(13:44):
back touchdowns in this late game or this late window
of three games going on. Uh, the touchdowns did not
occur in Los Angeles. Still three three between the Cardinals
and Rams. But the Raiders are on the board. Foster
Moreau four yard touchdown pass, a reception and a pass
from Derek Carr extra point is good. Raiders now within
(14:05):
three with under a minute to go until halftime. It's
the Colts ten, Raiders seven and Aaron Rodgers got some
help from one of his young wide receivers, Christian Watson.
Fifty eight yard touchdown reception, extra point by Mason Crosby
is good. They're Cowboys and Packers tied at seven. And
the reason that ended up being tied Bernie green Bay's
(14:27):
Rudy Ford picking off Dak Prescott in the end zone.
Ran it out about thirty five yards. But we had
just talked to you last and it was a green
Bay fumble and Dallas was knocking on the door. They
were unable to cash in, and finally a young gun,
a young target for Aaron Rodgers steps up big. Well,
it's good to see the green Bay defense today starting
to step up as well. They've got first uh seven
(14:50):
first round draft choices on the team. Their defensive coordinator,
Joe Berry, I think is significantly under achieving that team.
And I know a thing or two about Joel Berry.
I covered the oh eight line and you were oh
in sixty and the defensive coordinator was Joe Berry. So
they pick off deck. They've held Dallas to ninety two yards.
I liked green Bay to keep it close today. Aaron
Rodgers ten and one in games following situations where his
(15:14):
team scored ten points or less the week before. I
felt you'd get a good effort out of green Bay today.
For them to hang around, their defense is gonna have
to carry some freight. Yeah, you know, it's it's tricky
about green Bay. Is I think that we were we
were waiting for that to click, and even after the
loss to Washington a couple of weeks ago, with Aaron
Rodgers saying, you know, maybe it's the best thing for us.
(15:37):
And you're like, Okay, now is now is the time
it's gonna turn around. It's gonna turn around in Buffalo
is when it's gonna happen. And then it didn't. Then
you thought, all right, well maybe last week against the Lions,
that's gonna be the time where they turned around. Then
it didn't. And then I go to lambeau Field, the
place where you've already lost to no disrespect to the Jets,
but they were manhabled by the Jets earlier this season,
(15:57):
You're like, how much home cooking is there? Actually? Four
are bay at home right now? That close game that
you expected, tied up at seven apiece with about five
minutes to go until halftime. Cardinals, by the way, have
the football and are driving against the Rams, and that
three three ball games, so they are getting close to
the red zone inside the Rams thirty yard line at
(16:19):
this point. So something to watch in l A. So
when I say this Function Bowl, uh, Bernie, when I
say this function Bowl of these three games Cardinals, Rams, Packers, Cowboys, Colts, Raiders,
to me, it's far and away. It fits everything about
this Function Bowl for what's happening in Las Vegas. Like
(16:41):
I know, there's forty college football game bowl games. I
think this function Bowl is the perfect name to call
the Colts and Raiders today, considering what's going on with
those organizations over the last few weeks. Well, I think
you're spot on. I don't think anybody can argue with that.
You have the situation in Indianapolis where Frank Rank is
no longer there. Uh. Interestingly enough, we all thought Sam
(17:04):
Ellinger was going to start today. Maybe the fact he
was over fourteen on third down last week in New
England and only managed a hundred and twenty one yards
changed things. So you bring in sort of an unprecedented situation.
I think Matt's are just Saturday is going to be
the consiguli area for the rest of the season and
report to Jim Mercy. But moreover, the Raiders nowhere near
(17:25):
what expectations were. Now I was not fooled by the Raiders.
There's a thing called the Pythagorean theorem. The Raiders scored
uh sixty five less points last year than they gave
up and that equates to about a seven in ten season,
not tenant seven. And you mentioned Dan earlier. Spot on,
Can one can one possession victories, can can one score
(17:47):
games continue? No, the Raiders for seven and one and
one scored games last year, and this year they're own five.
The good news is today at least the Raiders don't
have a seventeen point lead. They've already blown three seventeen
point leads this year, when after the first sixty years
of their existence that only happened five times. The Raiders
offensive land only ranks defense ranks. No Hunter Rentfrow today,
(18:11):
no Darren Waller. Uh, and the hits just keep coming.
So in terms of dysfunction from the top down, which
I think is what you're alluding to, that is uh,
today's Bowl games one for the ages. Yeah, this is
this whole scenario. There's there's so much about Jeff Saturday
that that will will get into. But just to start
Matt Ryan in this game, it's almost as if Jeff
(18:34):
Saturday is saying, all right, this is this is my ship,
or this is this is what we need to to
turn this around. This is I get the I get
the move by Frank Reich. Just because it's a different
day than it was ten years ago in the NFL, Bernie,
I just think that no longer is it just continue
(18:56):
to try to win games and maybe it'll be nine
and eight or or or hover around five hundred and
be able to save your job. What coaches need to
do if they're on the hot seat and there is
a veteran quarterback is likely turned to somebody else to
provide that spark so you can show that you're the
guy to help lead that team and to continue that
(19:19):
sort of sort of success. It's actually what saved John
Harball's job with the Ravens. When Lamar Jackson comes in
for Joe Flacco, we forget some of the some of
the scrutiny that John Harbaugh was under. What Joe Flacco
is his quarterback and how it was all going to
play out. It ends up saving his job. It's cost
others jobs sometimes hanging on the guys. Anthony Anthony Lynn's
(19:41):
ability to stick with Torod Taylor over Justin Herbert for
just one game to start the season. Bernie was everything
that you needed to know about the tenure considering the
success that Herbert had that rookie season, and so like
if you can align, Like if if Anthony Lynne would
have you know, week one and said, you know, just
Herbert's are guy won the job in camp, We're gonna
(20:02):
move forward. Maybe there would about a little bit more,
you know, for Anthony Lynn, but I just don't think
that that was the case. Hugh Jackson, even in Cleveland
and not wanting to go with Baker Mayfield earlier. You
have to align yourself with the young guys. So I
think Frank Reich was correct in that thinking. But now
where the Colts are now and trying to turn things
around and make things better, Matt Ryan is probably the
(20:24):
guy since they're already already begun that transition within the franchise. Well,
you can just hear the quarter of the conversation between
Jeff Saturday and Jim Mercy. He you know, hey, you
know Sam Ellinger cost Tom Herman his job of Texas.
I'm not gonna let him cost you my job in
your Indianapolis, right. Uh. And what's interesting is it's my
(20:47):
understanding there was another dynamic to this whole scenario the
last three weeks. And I know Matt Ryan was heard,
but I was told that if they don't play him,
they'll save seventeen million dollars and they'll release him before
a certain date. And I think they're nonplus with Matt
Ryan as well, with all the turnovers, but still a
guy who's throwing for fifty tho yards in the NFL
(21:07):
is gonna give you a better chance than Sam Ellinger.
So I think they had that kind of two way dialogue.
You know, if you look at this in a panoramic way,
then the Colts have had kind of a terrible fall
from Grace Week eighteen last year. They strolled into Jacksonville,
win the game, and you're in the playoffs. They not
only lost the game, they lost in very unceremonious fashion.
I think there were whispers at that point that Jim
(21:30):
Rsey had become a little bothered by Frank Reich, a
real good guy in the room, another guy who's going
to get a job, probably fairly quickly. But I think
it started to go downhill from there. And when the
Colts show up three five and one, Jim Rsey said
he'd had enough. So interesting, but you are, you know,
you're right to your point. If you're gonna try to
win a game today, then it's got to be with
(21:50):
a guy who's a veteran who's one enough games, versus
a guy out of Texas who really hasn't shown yet
he's a major league quarterback. I get the I get
the switch. Then you know it doesn't work out. And
and now Frank Reich, not that he's he looks like
a fool er, is a fool. But just sam aland
Gurup probably was not ready for that. You know, situation
question is when you've got Nick Foles on that roster,
(22:11):
why you go back to Matt Ryan and not maybe
turn it over to Nick Foles. That's a whole other conversation, uh,
in a conversation that we'll continue with the dysfunction Bowl
now at the half. We'll get some mons in a sec.
But we do have to get a look at some
fantasy numbers. Are Executive producer Bow Benson waiting in the
wings fantasy hits and misses? All right, Bernie, this is
(22:35):
the time of the show where both Benson lays it
on for us. What do you got for the hits? Bow?
In Week ten? All right, Dan, you're gonna like this
first quarterback we got here justin fields a hundred sixty
seven yards throwing two touchdowns and a hundred and forty
seven yards rushing with another two touchdowns. Kind of crazy
how he Uh, suddenly gets good when the Bears start
to playing to his strengths. Weird how that that works
(22:56):
out for him? Do you know Patrick Mahomes for the
City one yards passing and four touchdowns for him today?
On the ground, the running backs se Kwan Barkley a
hundred and fifty two yards and a touchdown, Dalvin Cook
of the Minnesota Vikings a hundred nineteen yards and a touchdown,
and there win in Buffalo wide receivers Justin Jefferson obviously
probably the best wide receiver in football, no doubt about
(23:19):
that now a hundred ninety three yards a touchdown. And
then a guy that absolutely nobody started, but he had
a big day, uh, Nick Westbrook a Keene for the
Tennessee Titans a hundred nineteen yards perceiving and two touchdowns
as well for him. You're a pretty good play in
daily fantasy if you are looking at for that Titans
win against the Broncos. You've got a little something about
(23:39):
Russell Wilson as well of coming up those of your
fantasy hits four weeks and find bow on Twitter at
bow t at Benson and that's not bo, it's b
e A U T. Benson get Bernie on Twitter at
Bernie Fratter. You can find me on Twitter at Dan
Byron Foxes. We are live from the tire Wreck dot
Com studios, all at one games at the half. One
(24:00):
team just got into the end zone and another team
is facing a fourth down. That's what we've got this
late window. And we also have Monty Blados here to
give us the latest of what's going on on this Sunday.
What's happened in Monty? Hi, guys, Bernie, it's been so long,
Another NFL Sunday. We're good to be here with you, guys.
(24:21):
Was that any dropped with? Yeah, that's when you know
you've arrived. Yeah, I know, I know. Thank you Alex Titchert. Yeah,
he's the one who grabbed it, and now Sam has
been using it never h So yeah, yeah, okay, that
(24:42):
was cute. That was insane. Thanks Sam. Three games going
on right now, Like you just said, the Colts are
holding onto their lead over the Raiders at halftime thirteen
to seven. Matt Ryan has completed fourteen of eighteen passes
for a hundred and forty seven yards, and he has
a rushing touchdown. And it's just halftime. The Cowboys and
the Packers are tied at seven apiece three minutes to
go in the first half. Aaron Rodgers has completed four
(25:04):
of six passes for seventy three yards and a touchdown,
and the Cardinals just scored a rushing touchdown. They were
tied with the Ram three apiece. Not anymore. They just scored.
You said it. They were knocking at the door. They've
officially scored the right now it's nine to three. We'll
see if the extra point is good. Cardinals are playing
with Colts McCoy not Kyler Murray. He has completed sixteen
(25:25):
of twenty three passes for a hundred and twenty three yards.
The extra point is good. So the Cardinals officially up
on the Rams ten to three, less than two minutes
to go in the first half. And some of the
games that happened earlier, we can start with the one
in Germany. It always feels like it's so long ago.
The Buccaneers defeated the Seahawks twenty one to sixteen. Tampa
Bay improves to five and five for the season and
(25:45):
now have the best record in the NFC South. Seattle
is now six and four. The Steelers held the Saints
to zero points in the second half and one twenty
to ten. The Lions held on to beat the Bears
thirty one to thirty. Oh should I mention mentioned that
the Bears missed an extra point after a sixty seven
yard touchdown run by Justin Fields, and that hurt them
(26:05):
because they lost by a point. The Broncos may have
held Derrick Henry to just nineteen carries and fifty three yards,
but the Time still came out on top seventeen to
ten over the Broncos. The Chiefs feat the Jaguars twenty
seven to seventeen. Patrick Mahomes through for three and thirty
one yards and four touchdowns. His second touchdown against the
Jaguars was actually a record breaker that gave him a
(26:26):
hundred and seventy four, which was the most by a
player in the first seventy five games, and this was
only his seventy second game, so he has officially a
hundred and seventy four. The Dolphins dominated the Browns no
problems seventeen. The Giants outscored the Texans twenty four to sixteen.
And then the game that gave me a heart attack
because I couldn't believe everything that was happening the Vikings
(26:46):
and the Bills. I stopp paying attention to everything else.
I was like, I don't know if anything else is happening.
This is crazy. But the Vikings a big victory over
the Bills in Buffalo thirty three to thirty. Minnesota is
now eight and one. The Bills are now six and three.
Kirk Cousins through for seven yards and a touchdown, two interceptions.
Josh Allen threw for three hundred thirty yards, one touchdown,
(27:07):
two interceptions, both in the end zone. Back to you guys,
thank you very much. To get her on Twitter at
Monty belanos Is We're live from the entire act dot
com studios. Monty mentioned the stats are Colt McCoy three
yards in this Rams Cardinals game. Bernie is one where
I think it's interesting because if the Cardinals continue to
(27:27):
have this success, I don't think it's as much about
the the the Rams. If the Cardinals continue to hold
onto this lead and end up winning this game, I
think it says something about Kyler Murray and I think
it says something about Arizona. And just talked about dysfunction
with the Colts and Raiders. I mean, Kyler Murray is
(27:51):
has been quite the distraction for his football team. And
now they're on hard knocks in season, so you're getting
a little bit more of a look. And we had
found out that the the argument that occurred last week
between you know, DeAndre Hopkins and Kyler Murray and that
lost the Seattle was maybe a a little bit more
than maybe just two players arguing. I don't know, maybe
(28:11):
I'm taking more to it. The point being is I
just wonder if the Cardinals play lighter today because Kyler
Murray is not there. Not that it's gonna be easier,
not that I mean talent wise, Kyler is obviously, you know,
much better than than Colt McCoy. But I just wonder
if they play lighter today because of the absence of
Kyler Murray. Well, it's certainly a talking point, Dan, and
(28:34):
I'll tell you a couple of things, and you could
almost uh characterize this game is perhaps part B of
the dysfunction Bowl. Sean m McVeigh has had, uh, Cliff
Kingsbury's number and Arizona's number for that matter, seven and
one in their last eight. But both of these franchises
are stuck in the mud right now, stuck in the
duel ms Rams clearly a Super Bowl hangover. But back
(28:56):
to your point, I'll about the Arizona Cardinals. So I
covered the game when they were here in Vegas several
weeks ago, and one of those games where again the
Raiders led twenty to nothing and somehow Arizona managed to
come back in the second half on the back and
shoulders of Kyler Murray. But it wasn't any semblance of
order like an NFL offense and looked like a Monty
Python episode. Carla Murray running around like crazy. They could
(29:20):
literally couldn't tackle him. The most improvisational offense I think
I've ever seen. And I really questioned the relationship, the
professional relationship and even the personal relationship Carler Murray has
with the organization. But bore over Cliff Kingsbury. I don't
feel like they're on the same page. And Dan, I
think you aptly point that out. You put Coote McCoy
and he runs the offense as it's structured, as they
(29:42):
have game plan for, much like Cooper Rush did in Dallas.
And when you surround yourself with the NFL talent and
you stay on schedule, don't turn the ball over, don't
commit stupid penalties, don't blow assignments. You could lead ten
to three at the half. Yeah, and and and honestly,
it does help that Matthew Stafford's not starting on the
other sideline as well. That sure helps. But he give
(30:03):
James Conner the football. You figure out a way to
get DeAndre Hopkins the football, which by the way, has
not been an issue so far. DeAndre Hopkins has seven
receptions for fifty eight yards. And that was one of
the takeaways from last week and that argument that occurred
between Kyler and and DeAndre Hopkins for the simple fact
of Hopkins had one target in the second half. That
(30:27):
doesn't include a touchdown that was called back, but that
would have been two targets at most for in a
game that that you trailed. The decent part of that
you obviously had DeAndre Hopkins back off suspension. He had
to one yard games in his first two games back.
To only give him two targets, one of which actually
(30:48):
counted to me, tells me that there may be a
little bit more to it than maybe that you know
that there is something and there has always been something
with Kyler Murray over these last nine or ten months
and that's and that's problem with Arizona, and I think
you're seeing, uh, some of that play out today. They
may not score thirty eight points, Bernie, But to your
point of playing within that offense and doing what they
(31:09):
need to do, I think Arizona has a much better
chance at maybe winning a football game today. Well, and
I think part of the subjects of what you were saying, Dan,
and you're right, Uh, you need in the National Football
League oftentimes to deploy the run to set up the pass.
You can open up passing lanes. You can't be one dimensional.
One of the biggest problems the Rams has had this
(31:30):
year is they cannot run the ball at all. And
if I can digress, even the green Bay game plan today,
it was told to me remember that game you mentioned
Buffalo in Green Bay a few weeks bet the Packers
actually ran for two eight yards that day. If they
can establish the run today, which they were intending to
do and they had, that can lead to passing lanes
opening up. You can't be one dimensional in the National
(31:51):
Football League. Defensive coordinators are too smart. They'll figure it out.
They'll they will change personnel groupies in schemes and it
will attack you we're your week. So to that point,
you have to be balanced, and for the most part,
neither Arizona Northern Rams have shown a balanced attack all year,
especially on the ground. What's happening in green Bay. Rudy
Ford is picked off Dak Prescott again, so the Packers
(32:13):
now take over in Cowboys territory. Cowboys were hovering around midfield.
Ford's interception brought green Bay all the way down to
the Dallas twenty four yard line, so as they approached
the two minute warning, tied up at seven apiece, green
Bay knocking on the door of that seven seven ball
game thanks to the second turnover forced by green Bay
(32:35):
and again Rudy Ford his second interception of the game
for green Bay. It's a chilly one like it is
in many of the spots around the country, but green
Bay's offense trying to heat up to take a lead.
He's Bernie Fretto. I'm Dan Buyer. This is a Fox
Football Sunday. It's Red Zone Radio here on Fox Sports Radio.
Get Bernie on Twitter at Bernie Fretto. You can find
(32:57):
me on Twitter at Dan Buyer on Fox have hit
the two minute warning in green Bay, Cowboys and Packers
tied at seven, Cardinals and Rams minute thirty four to
go until halftime, and right now, the Cardinals are gonna
be taking over a play that appeared that John Woolford
may have thrown an incomplete passed. I think they're gonna
call it a fumble, so Arizona will be taking over
(33:20):
on a turnover, so they'll be knocking on the door
with a seven point lead against the Rams, and Smonty
mentioned coltson Raiders at the half thirteen to seven game
in California. We mentioned Rams and Cardinals. It was a
big week for the state of California and why the
state is so different than any other. We'll talk about
it next year. He's Bernie Freddo. I'm Dan Buyer. That's
next year on Fox Sports Radio. It's a Fox Football Sunday.
(33:43):
We'll go to Red jone Radio. He's Bernie Freddoh, I'm
Dan Buyer, sitting in with you on Week ten. Three
games going on right now, Packers in the end zone,
up fourteen to seven on the Cowboys. Cardinals got into
the end zone, turning that turnover into points through up
seventeen to three on the Rams. During halftime, the Colts
up on the Raiders. Bernie, let's focus on the game
of the day and maybe the game of the year.
(34:09):
It's time for the NFL Fox Focus. She had a
front row seat to the epic clash in Buffalo that
saw the Vikings top the Bills on Fox and overtime
thirty three to thirty. Pam Oliver so kind to join
us after what was an epic, epic game. Pam, is this, uh?
(34:30):
This is crazy? Where does this rank? You've seen, You've
seen the best of the best of the National Football League.
Where does this one fall? I've been the Super Bowls,
I've been great championship games. This is easily top five.
I was just standing there, going, what's happening here? It
was such great football. I'm sorry somebody was sleeping. Um,
(34:53):
it was such great footballs. A few people that were
around me were Bill Stands nice, and I realized it's tough.
But as a football fan, you gotta appreciate that. Pam
Oliver joining us here on Fox Sports Radio, Bertie, Yeah, Pam,
I saw the entire game, and of course it was
on TV, but you saw a play right after the
(35:17):
two minute warning on fourth and eighteen when Justin Jefferson
made one of the most magical catches you'll ever see,
and that ended up helping lead to the victory. But
he doesn't Against Leslie Fraser's number one ranked defense. How
were the Vikings able to amass over five yards today
in Buffalo against that number one defense? We may have lost. Yeah,
(35:38):
we may have lost. Pam. Unfortunately, it's uh well, we'll
we'll hang in the wings. We're gonna try to reconnect
with Pam. The game us so crazy, even the phone
lines have lost their minds that that's what's going on.
We're gonna try to reconnect with Pam Oliver. Welcome to

All right? Okay, sorry questions. Glad to have you back.
So you saw right after the two minute warning, one
(36:20):
of the most sensational place you'll ever see in the
National Football League. On fourth and eighteen, Justin Jefferson makes
a magical catch one of me. But here's the question
I have for you, Pam Leslie Fraser brought the number
one defense in the National Football League today into Buffalo,
Minnesota masses five yards. How are they able to do that?
You know what? I think there was just a methodical Um.
(36:44):
I just think Kevin O'Connell is. We spent time with him.
I think he's a brilliant mind. He understands he's got
great people around him. He was sure to make his
staff just as diverse as it could possibly be, and
I think it was just a culmination of having all
those lines that were determined to put their players in
the best possible position. I talked to Justine Jefferson after
(37:08):
the game, and my main question to him was are
you the best in the league. Of course he's going
to say yes, and he's like, today is an example
of why. Look at the place that he made, look
at the place I was able to make, and they
were just jaw dropping. I hope no social media caught
my face half the time because my jaw was on
(37:28):
the ground, like, oh, he's gotta be getting me. Let's
just fantastic football. It's It's up in my top five
for sure. As you know, someone who does this for
a living and appreciate football, love football. It's one of
the best games I've ever seen. Pam Oliver joining us
here on Fox Sports Red Zone Radio. He's Bernie Fretto.
I'm Dan Buyer. Last one for me, Pam. How bad
(37:49):
is Josh Allen's elbow? What? What did you? What did
you get from Buffalo this week? Is they were pretty
coy with his status. This very coy. UM. I don't
think he would have played if it was that bad.
There was no reason for it. They could have waited. UM.
The doctors cleared him and talked to a couple of people.
He was cleared on Friday after he threw and walked through.
(38:10):
We were there for that and he didn't throw. There
were just eight intermediate passes, but no deep balls or
anything crazy. But I think if he was injured to
the point that he should not play, that they're overlooking
what's necessary, um to get them towards the end of
the season. I don't think they would have pulled the trigger. UM. Again,
(38:31):
I talked to somebody before the game said doctors cleared
him completely as of Friday even oh wow, wow. The
whole pregame warm up stuff was all crazy and people
are like, no, there's no Josh Allen and then Josh
Allen and gears and who knew that that was just
stil Yeah, and we were, we were. We had our
fingers crossed, like, Lord, please let him play. Dam thanks
(38:53):
so much of the time. I know it's crazy, especially
after that crazy game with travel and everything. We love
having John, so we appreciate it. We'll talked again soon, Okay,
any time, Take care. Pam Oliver on the sidelines of
that Vikings victory over the Bills thirty three, the thirty
did you see all the pregame stuff Burnie with like
you know, the saying the tight ends are out on
the field, receivers were out there, there was no Josh Allen.
(39:15):
Maybe he won't play, and then he finally appears in
the uniform. It was that was just the beginning of
the absolute craziness we saw. And I kind of imagine
fantasy units were tearing their hair out. What if he started?
He doesn't play, But one quick thing, Dan, I'd like
you to win and I still can't get my mind around.
Vikings left for dead forty four seconds left to go.
They stop Cousins on the end zone, and then the
(39:38):
very next play, Alan fumbles the exchange and Eric Kendricks
falls on it in the end zone. The Vikings get
a touched down. What happened there? I think that Allen
Um never got the football from the center. I'm gonna
blame the center on that scenario because it looked like,
you know, Minnesota was was obviously charging and I just
don't think he ever got the football. But should the Bills,
(40:00):
if even have ran that play. That's a whole other discussion.
The discussion will get into next. He's Bernie Fratto. I'm
Dan Buyer. Aaron Jones had the touchdown for Green Bay,
but the Cowboys are knocking on the door. First and
goal with nineteen seconds left in the first half. Packers
up fourteen to seven, Cards up on the Rams at
the half seventeen to three. Colts continue to lead the
Raiders in the third thirteen to seven. Welcome in. It
(40:22):
is week ten to the National Football League season. Raiders
trying to take the lead at home against the Colts.
They're in Indie territory, but trailing in that one. We
are broadcasting live for the tirect dot com studios. Tirect

(40:45):
should be a couple of close games in this late window.
We've got Bernie here at n C say, Cowboys and
Packers tied at the half. Green Bay really kind of
moving away from that Aaron Jones and a J. Dillon combo.
We're getting a lot more of Aaron Jones than we
are of a J. Dillon and and it seemed to
have worked right now for green Bay still, um just
(41:07):
it's not a fifty fifty split, but you're seeing Aaron
Jones with a lot of effective carries. Talked about Kyler
Murray's absence a little while earlier, as the Cardinals have
that two score lead and the Raiders having at first
and twenty at the colts thirty five yard line trailing
Indianapolis by six, and Jeff Saturday's debut something that I
do want to get into, but I want to carry
over of from what happened in that earlier game today
(41:28):
between the Vikings and Bills. We just talked with Pam
Oliver Bernie. You talked about the goal line play, not
only the stop by Buffalo, but then when the Bills
were on offense at their own half inch yard line,
the fumble that allowed Minnesota to recover uh that snap
and then take the lead, which then forced Josh Allen
(41:48):
to drive his team down the field and kick a
field goal, and then Minnesota won the toss kicked their
own field goal. Then the Bills got the football and
drove back so much craziness and didn't even mention the
Justin Jefferson catch. But the point about Buffalo having the
football at the half inch yard line, a safety was
not an option in that scenario. They could not. It
(42:12):
would not have benefited them if they were to take
a snap and if Josh Allen run out of the
back of the end zone, because you're only up four
at that point, you would have to have punted the
ball back to Minnesota. Granted it would have been from
your own twenty instead of your own end zone, but
that wasn't the That wasn't the thing that you were
(42:35):
worried about. Minnesota still had one time out, you could
not let a field goal beat you. And how often
is it that you don't get the snap and it's
recovered for a touchdown in that scenario, Like even even
if the Bills were to get were to be tackled
for a safety on a sneak Bernie, I still think
(42:57):
that that scenario, while it may have seemed the worst
case at the time, Like you don't think you're gonna
fumble the football and drop it in the end zone,
just not gonna happen. And the Bills had to take
two snaps because of the Minnesota time out with forty
seconds left, they took the one and fumbled. But for
those that said that maybe the Bill should have taken
(43:18):
a safety, I don't think that that was a realistic option. No.
I think you laid it out just right. Dan. First
of all, there were seconds left in the game, which
is quite a bit of time, and the Vikings at
a time out, and to your other point, the score.
So now you make it and you give the ball
back to the Vikings, who moved the ball at will
(43:38):
the entire second half. It was presumed they would have
had a very much of a puncher's chance to just
get the ball back into field goal range and you know,
set up a game winning field goal. I mean, look
how well the Vikings moved the ball in overtime. They
took it right down the field. This is a game, Dan,
I'm glad I watched it, because the final two minutes
(43:58):
are absolutely nuts. We've talked about the exchange with seconds
to go. All right, well, that gives Minnesota thirty seven lead,
but the proverbial too much time on the clock, because
Buffalo needed thirty nine seconds to go sixty nine yards
in five plays. Gabe Davis making a nice twenty yard
grab that wasn't reviewed, and they hustled to the line
(44:20):
and snapped the ball. Now, Dan, you're a keen observer.
Was that a catch? No, it wasn't. Yeah, it was
not a catch. I wonder how much that's going to
be talked about. So that adds to more of the
the zaniness of the final two minutes. So instead, Tyler
Bass kicks the twenty nine yard field goal, and now
we're going to overtime, which Buffalo was probably very relieved,
(44:41):
and you got Josh Allen. Then it looks like the
Vikings were gonna take the overtime kick. Off and went
in with a touchdown because Justin Jefferson catches a twenty
four yard passed all the way down to the two
on third and ten. He did it again. Unreal, but
yet they had the Vikings still have to settle for
a field goal. They're like, this is this is just
(45:01):
absolute insanity. The theme here is Buffalo was close multiple
times in this game to pulling away, but Minnesota just
would not go away. I mean, Buffalo led by ten
with ten minutes to go in the game, they had
a fourth and two from the Minnesota seven. One could
make a case maybe they should have kicked the field
goal there, but they didn't. They wanted to put the
(45:22):
game away. Josh Allen rolls, right, was he do? He
gets picked? Look, this is a game that went back
and forth. It was a true heavyweight match. Both teams
landed body blows. In the end, only the Vikings were
left standing. And to your point, you brought this up earlier,
and you've got me thinking, could a game like this
(45:42):
really propelled Minnesota? Because this gives them a mental snapshot
of what they really could be. No one goes into
Buffalo and wins. The Vikings have done that now and
now they've got three straight home games. But as you
play and replay this game in your mind over and over,
if you're a of a little Bills band fan, you've
got to be livid. This is one you let get
(46:03):
away and now you're facing the distinct possibility of having
to go through Aarrowhead Stadium again to get back to
the Super Bowl. Yeah, there's there's also like I understand
as well. And and I actually think that the Minnesota fan,
and I know a lot of them coming from what's
Scott and a lot of a lot of Minnesota fans,
I understand their heartbreak. I understand. Um. So I think
(46:25):
that they they understand where I'm coming from. They may
not like it, they may not want to hear it,
but I think that there's a reality of it to it.
But I understand that there there are there are parties
that are different. You know. Kirk Cousins, uh, you know,
wasn't there for the Minneapolis miracle and for them to
then go to Philadelphia and get you know, run over
(46:46):
by the Eagles in the NFC Championship Game. Kirk Cousins
was there for their win against the Saints in the
wild card a few years back. And then they went
to San Francisco and got run over by the San
Francisco forty Niners. I still think that when you look
get what Minnesota did, and you brought up the point
of their one score games, which is very very important
in a league where where everybody seems to be average.
(47:08):
You want to win those games. But if you want
to be Minnesota and be different than the old Vikings
that that we've come accustomed to, and I guarantee there
are Vikings fans in Minneapolis in St. Paul right now
saying the same thing, like, alright, Week ten is great,
but we want to see it next week. We want
to see it carry it over. We want to try
to get home field for the for the entire NFC playoffs,
(47:28):
otherwise we're gonna have to go back to Philadelphia like
we did in Week two. There are some skeptics, and
it's not that stuff is built in and when you
have Kirk Cousins as your quarterback that we joke of
what happens in primetime games, what happens when the when
the sun goes down and the lights come on. What
happens to the Minnesota Vikings and Kirk Cousins in that scenario.
(47:49):
That is a big deal. And what do you know, Bernie,
You know like you've got to nationally televised. It's not
a Sun and Night game next week, but it's the
marquee game on CBS Vikings and Cowboys in Minnesota. So
you've got that opportunity now to be able to answer
the bell. I'm just not ready to cash in. Minnesota's
gotta win by two in a pickup game here. They
(48:11):
gotta validate what this win was today, that that is
the most important thing. You mentioned the game, Davis catch
or non catch that it was, and I would just
I would counter with so many things that didn't go
right for Minnesota. You know, look at that bumble at
the goal line of of of what happened. I needed
to be validated before I can get off the Minnesota
There are different faces there. There's a different faces a
(48:33):
head coach. There doesn't seem to be that that intertention
now that my Zimmer and crew are no longer there,
But I still want to see it before I believe it.
With Minnesota. Well, and that's a fair take. What might
be the saving grace as they truly have an embarrassment
of riches on offense, you pick up T. J. Hockenson.
(48:54):
He catches seven more balls today. That changes the way
defensive coordinators half to skiing for Justin Jefferson and Adam
Thieland and KG Osborne Hey and Dalvin Cook. He'll catch
the ball out of the backfield. Cook a hundred nineteen
yards today. Him and Alexander Madison a nice one to punch.
Madison doesn't get a lot of carries, but he'll get
you the hard yard. And when you've got Dalvin Cook
(49:15):
averaging almost nine yards of carry, that leads you to
believe running lanes are open because the passing attack for
the Vikings. There was one dynamic in the game today
that we haven't talked about, and I want to run
this by you because it's stuck in my mind. I
know it's against the law of practice psychology without a license,
but did you notice the Buffalo Bills language or body
(49:36):
language Right after Kirk Cousins was stopped on that quarterback
sneak which turned the ball back over to the Bills,
they were all celebrating and jumping up and down and
congratulating each other like the game was over. Now my
overthinking it? Maybe am I over analyzing it. Maybe I
don't know if they lost their edge. All I know
is they lost the game. And those are the little
(49:58):
things that stick out to me. Teams form impressions. We often,
you know, we control our opinions of teams and their
relative strengths weaknesses or at your point about the Vikings,
you have every right to be a doubting Thomas. I
don't recall them winning a super Bowl, and they've been
a bridesmaid many times, never a bride. But when you
have a situation where you form this impression, the Vikings
(50:20):
and to a degree of the Bills today, they're in
control of that impression that you form. And part of
that impression to to me today was when I saw
the Bills celebrating like the game was over when it wasn't.
That's just you know, more grist for the mill that
I can't get out of my mind. Interesting. Yeah, I
had never thought about it because I don't want to
sit there and blame I sometimes maybe unfair to team's
(50:44):
Bertie because I'll say, well, you you were celebrating like
that was your super Bowl. That game was so crazy
that whoever was going to win. So I'm not gonna
like I'm not gonna sit there and say, man, did
you see how Minnesota celebrated that victory? For as crazy
as it was, I I there's no reason to be subdued.
So I'm not gonna I'm not gonna be unfair to
(51:05):
whether it would have been the Vikings or Bills to
to win that game. But it is interesting because it
wasn't over and even if you look at the penetration
that Minnesota got, which is the reason why I think
that the ball never got to Josh Allen's hands, because
I think the center was so concerned of getting the
football to uh to Josh Allen in that scenario like
(51:26):
that that fumble. Well, I said, a lot had to
go right for for Minnesota, and that scenario may have
been caused by uh, you know, for for what the
Vikings did across their you know, offensive line and why
Mitch Morse didn't give the football to to Josh Allen
where he needed to be. That that may have been
Minnesota induced. So they do deserve credit for that. And
(51:49):
we can't forget Green Josephs missed extra point as well.
I mean, they're just there are little peccadillos. Dan, It's
always the devil is always in the details. Both of
these franchises have designs this year of winning their first
ever Super Bowl. They've both been four times and you know,
in two great cities. I don't think anybody would would
be unhappy if you saw either Minnesota and or Buffalo
(52:12):
in the Super Bowl, or Minnesota play Buffalo in the
Super Bowl. The bottom line, go ahead, Dan, I was
gonna say. I saw Tom Pella Sarah tweet that mente
Tom's based out of the Twin Cities. I thought, okay,
let's slow down a little bit. But if they did
have a rematch, it would be, uh, it would be
very intriguing because you knew, you would know that someone's
destiny is about to change and someone's lifelong misery is
(52:36):
about to continue. Three hours from that point, there was
just a lot of weird, little odd speed bumps, you know.
After justin Jefferson, Uh catches that amazing past to get
down near the goal line. Remember what happened next? The
Bills were called for an offside. The play was redone,
but they didn't even get enough to get the first down.
(52:57):
So these are just little things that you play in
your mind when you go back and look at the
fine details of the game. Because if you're the Buffalo
Bills today and you say, well, Josh Allen played, we
we massed fo yards, we turned you know, we forced
three turnovers, and we scored thirty points, you'd expect to
win that game, correct, But they didn't. Led by two
(53:18):
touchdowns at half. Are you to your point at one point?
They yeah, yeah. Devin Cook came in to start the
saving of the day. He's Bertie Freddo. I'm Dan Buyer.
This is a Fox Sports Red Zone radio football fans,

it to the end. So Josh Jacobs a one yard
touchdown weren't run. Jonathan Taylor did him a bunch better
sixty six yard touchdown run. The answer two point in
version though for the Colts, no good. That lead the
Raiders nineteen to four in a minute to go in
(54:00):
the third quarter. Packers and Cowboys just started weigh in
the second half, tied up at fourteen apiece, and the
Rams continue to trail the Cardinals seven teen to three
as they play with ninety one left in the third quarter.
She saw the stant line for Rams wide receiver Cooper
Cup again. No Matthew Stafford or Kyler Murray today. Cooper
Cup's first half three catches minus one yard. Get Bernie

and ask those questions and more next year on Fox

(54:45):
from the tire Act dot Com studios. It's Fox Sports
Red Zone Radio. He's Bernie Fratto. I'm Dan Buyer. Updates
of what's going on in the National Football League in
this late window. Trace McSorley is in at quarterback for
the Cardinals as Colt McCoy just had to leave the
game with in the parent knee injury. UM, I don't
(55:05):
want to speculate, but I just Bernie speculated on what
it was. He's in the medical Tampa Trace McSorley in
the game, seventeen to three, Cardinals up on the Rams,
eight thirty five left to go in the third quarter.
The Colts are getting the football back, but deep in
their own territory. Up five on the Raiders nineteen fourteen
early in the fourth. And speaking of deep in their
own territory, that's where the Cowboys are. But they're at
(55:27):
least tied with Green Bay at fourteen apiece left to
go in the third. If I misspoke, Colts up by
five on the Raiders. Indie has the football deep in
their own territory. Adam Kaplan's our Fox Sports Radio NFL Insider.

the Inside the Birds podcast in Sirius x M NFL Radio.
All right, after today's overtime victory, Adam, thirty three to
(55:50):
thirty Vikings top of the Bills? Are you officially sold
on the eight and one Minnesota Vikings? To be clear
and gonna be with the I thought they were a
good team along, but I, like most people, when I
looked at their schedule and look how the way that
they've played, they've been living dangerously. But look eight one
is eight one in the league. Where it's down, it's
that we don't have a lot of dominant teams. They
(56:12):
were very good football team. They won on the road,
which is very very hard to do, and being down
seventeen in Buffalo, folks, I like most people who watched
that game, I thought the game was over. I did
not think they'd come back. But I'll tell you what
which what came about in this game. This is a
real problem for the Bills. They've got major problems in
their secondary due to injury. Both safeties out. Truous White
(56:35):
has been back to practice for several weeks. They didn't
clear him to play for this game. His his a replacement,
kyer hel In, the first round corner from Florida, did
not play today doing an ankle injury. They've got severe
problems in their secondary if they don't get a pass
rush there and definitely definitely in trouble. And I'm good
to talk to you. The other big game today the
(56:56):
coltson Raiders. The group think echo Chamber is working over
to time and this is what they're insisting that if
Josh McDaniels loses today, he may not survive the season,
or at the very least may not be back for
season two. I don't buy that. What are your thoughts, Yeah,
it would shock me if if if McDaniels was fired.
See what the fans have to understand is that Mark
(57:18):
Davis meets with Josh McDaniels after every game, so you
might see him. Sometimes the meetings are a little bit longer.
A lot of owners do this. This is not uncommon.
I think a lot of things that get out. I
think fans and some of the media don't realize how
how common the stuff is. Brian Dable, look, I know
the cameras on him today, the Giants head coach. A
lot of head coaches out their coaches and sometimes their
(57:41):
players rather loudly. It's just sometimes the camera picks it up.
It's kind of commonplace. But I would put this stuff
with Mark Davis and MC Josh McDaniels with a caveat
the only team as I do. It's one of the
teams I probably don't better than most. I never rule
out something crazy happening, which Aci was probably gonna be
their head coach. But certain things happen. They were out
(58:04):
of his control. He was the guy that most people
with the Raiders were pushing for, who's not only the
best special teams coach. He did a phenomenal job last
year based on what everything that happened. They still made
the playoffs. But I mean, Mark Davis decided to go
for a big fish and so far it's not worked.
Green Bay muffed a punt after forcing the Dallas punt,
(58:26):
the Cowboys took over in Green Bay territory and now
in the red zone after Dak Prescott hooked up with
Ceedee Lamb, who got in that game tied up at
fourteen midway through the third quarter. Adam cap on our
Fox Sports Radio NFL and Center joining us here one
more on on that whole thing. The reason I don't
think it change is made, Adam, is because it seemed
like it's a package deal with Ziggler and McDaniels. Does
(58:47):
that play into any of this at all. Well, the
guy who put it together, um Ken Harrock, who's a
former Raiders executive. He's been in the league for many,
many years. He actually a lot of people don't know
who he is, but Harrock used to be He was
actually with the Falcons when they traded Bread farther away
obviously to Green Bay. So Kennon has been in the
(59:08):
league and he actually trained coaches how to interview and
so forth. So Mark Davis because of his relationship with
the club, This is who Harrock got recommend him to Davis.
And you're right, it was actually both gots this the
package deal. They know each other. But this is a
turner our program, mother than Derek Carr. And obviously the
trade for Davante Adams of defense. Their back seven has
(59:29):
been horrendous. It's been kind of what most people thought
close the situation. They don't have a very good offensive line.
Uh they Darren Waller injury is crushed them, There's no
doubt about it. And that's kind of where it's at.
I mean, they are and they've they've definitely earned their
record at two and six. Adams looked the other sideline
in the Raiders game. Barring something absolutely crazy like the
(59:51):
Colts getting to the playoffs, I just can't see Jim
Mercy bringing him back. My moles tell me that Jim Mercy,
who's had an affinity for Jim Harball for three decades,
called him captain comeback. He's going to have conversations with
him in January. Your thoughts well, Jim Harball. The question
was and has been people close to him who I
(01:00:12):
know very well, would you ever leave Michigan? And the
word I kept getting every years, Yes, but I would
have to take a construdiny situation where he could bring
his own people no interference. And here's the problem, Jim
Marca interferes. So let's call it like it is. Uh,
He's he's just a different person. I'm sure you folks
watch his interview or know about it. It was bizarre
(01:00:32):
to say the least. I mean the GM Chris Ballard
barely spoke. I've reported on Hardball for for copy a
decade and a half. No people closer very well. I
do believe he'll be a head coach in the NFL again,
no matter what people say. I think he will again someday.
But he's got a great thing going in Michigan. Let's
not forget that quickly. His buy out is very small,
(01:00:57):
and that's I find very interesting, and much like Hardballs
connected to the mc caskeys, very much connected to Ersey,
and I'm not ruling it out. I'm not predicting it.
But for all my seventeen years in Michigan, I've maintained
my moles as well. And you'll articulate that well, Adam.
If the stars aligned just right, it could happen. Yeah.
In fact, I know the guys who would go with him,
some of the coaches to front office people. It would
(01:01:19):
always set up rather quickly. He wouldn't have to do
a lot of work. There's certain coaches and certain executives cluing.
Some guys at Michigan would go with him. Yeah, look,
he's he'd be a great candidate. Now. Jim Harble was
a guy wears people out. He in the NFL and
usually he only has a shelf like phenomenal football coach,
but he drives people crazy. It's it's just a different character,
(01:01:40):
I would say, but a tremendous a tremendous football coach.
I've always said what I thought stuck in Jim Harball's
crawl the most was that he came so close to
a Super Bowl and lost it to the kid across
the hall in the other bedroom. Like that would like
like you talk about getting to the mountaintop and then
you're like you're right there and you'll lose the Super
Bowl to your big brother. You know that at some
(01:02:02):
point you're gonna want to try to try to, you know,
revenge that or at least get one for your own.
So most people forget that. Yeah it is, and I've
always been a decade now since since that contest. But
maybe that will be one of many things to uh
to try to bring him back. Adam Caplan our Fox
Sports Radio insider, joining us here on Fox Sports Red
(01:02:26):
Zone Radio. He's Bernie Freddo, I'm Dan Buyer. I'm amazed, Adam,
and I know they lost today, but this conversation about
who Justin Fields is as a quarterback, I don't remember
any quarterback that we have completely done an absolute one
eight on in about a month. Am I wrong? Though?
(01:02:47):
Like I mean, this is I mean, and I give
a lot of credit to Luke Getsy and and what
the Bears did seem to take him maybe six or
seven games to figure this thing out, but they figured
it out. Like I mean, how have you character rise
this turnaround? And have you seen anything like in the NFL?
Well it's really interesting because they don't let him throw.
They kind of know where he is in his development.
He needs a lot of work as a passer. He's
(01:03:08):
got amazing talent though his arm is enormous. He's a
great athlete, he's got great size. He just is not
advanced enough where they think about it. Folks. They scored
thirty points. He only throws the ball twenty times. That
that's there. There was a game this is This tells
you kind of where he was at earlier this season.
Dan on your on your point. There was a game
they were down, they were down two touchdowns of Green
(01:03:29):
Bay and they had the ball. They would not let
him throw with six minutes left because they just didn't.
They still don't. They really don't trust him quite yet
as a passer. But I'll tell you this, at some point,
it won't be this year, probably next year, assuming he'll
be the starter next season. Basically what he runs, I mean,
you love that part of it. He's got so much
talent that this. I know people beat up o Hive
(01:03:51):
State quarterbacks. I get that there's a lot of stuff
out there, but you will not find him more talented
Ohio State quarterback than this kid. He just is so
far away from Mr Him and as a quarterback. But
the great thing is, uh, they're committed to helping him
Chase Claypool that trade, though he hasn't really done much yet.
He just got there. They don't have a very good
offensive line. They do have a run game. He's a
(01:04:11):
huge part of it. In fact, he's probably the biggest
part of it. But he's got improved as a passer,
and that's kind of where it starts. Uh. Last one
for me, Adam two weeks ago before Dan Campbell won
two in a row again the Echo Chamber working overtime,
I still maintained my moles. I was told Sheila hand
Ford really likes him. He's got a six year deal.
He's gonna get at least three years. Did you ever
(01:04:31):
buy the rumors that Dan Campbell could be in real trouble? Um, Well,
let me just tell you that Sheila really likes Ma Patricia.
Just for the for the record, my people, So I'm
not criticized what you said, but just understand it's she
gets close to a lot of their coaches and now
he's I'll say this with Dan Campbell, he's really well like,
(01:04:52):
he's a great dude. But they've choked so many games,
I mean literally today, I mean they she's if your
Lions fan. You probably had four attacks in the game.
I don't know how they pulled that one off. Was amazing.
Good for them, by the way, that's at two in
a row for them. But they're still a bad football team.
They have to rebuild their defense. Their defense isn't really
not good now offensively, unfortunately, so many players back hurt though.
(01:05:14):
I am told they expact Jamison Williams to play sometime
early next month, at least start practicing, maybe by the
end of month, maybe after Thanksgiving, potentially play early in December.
That's best case scenario, I'm told with James Williams something
to look forward to. It's an annual tradition in Detroit,
right Bernie, Um love Adam over ten of them. We
(01:05:39):
appreciate the time, Adam. We will talk to your week eleven.
Thanks so much. Thank you, Adam capitlit Our Fox Sports Radio,
NFL at get him on Twitter at Kaplan NFL again.
Here I'm on the Inside the Birds podcast, Eagles Tomorrow,
hosting the Commanders on Monday Night Football and also on
Syria Sex M NFL Radio. While there's a touchdown in
Green Bay, there's one in Las Vegas, and there's actually
(01:06:00):
a touchdown in l a Philisanna on what's happening in
the late window and much more. Yes, the Rams officially
have scored a rushing touchdown. Give a rout of applause.
I know, trying to put some pepp in their step here,
but the Cardinals are still beating them. Seventeen to ten
(01:06:21):
is the score with less than five minutes to go
in that third quarter, and the Cowboys have retaken the
lead against the Packers. The Cowboys are playing without Ezekiel Elliott,
but Tony Pollard and Ceedee Lamb have stepped up. Pollard
has fourteen carries seventy two yards and a touchdown. Lamb
has eight receptions eighty six yards and a touchdown, and
the Cowboys are up on the Packers to fourteen with
(01:06:41):
less than seven minutes to go in the third quarter,
and the Raiders have taken the lead with the touchdown
is a score. They went for a two point conversion,
no bueno, no good, not successful, so they are only
up twenty nineteen. One point is the lead. Early in
the fourth quarter. Derek Carr has thrown for a hundred
and eighty four yards and two touchdowns, but Jonathan Taylor
for the Colts twenty carries a hundred and forty yards.
(01:07:04):
He had a sixty six yard run, uh, sixty six
yard run touchdown, and he has a hundred and forty
yards for the game twenty carries. I'll say this, Unfortunately
the people who drafted him in fantasy. Yeah, there, well
there are one in eight right now. So it's like
a little you know, maybe too little, too late, but uh,
it does help. A little guy has been dealing with that.
(01:07:25):
After the year he had last year in fantasy, everybody
thought he was going to do that again, and so yeah,
everybody's very upset by the way. I know, like Davante
Adams is always wide open, and it's a credit to
his route running. But you would think that, you know,
without Darren Waller, without hunter renfro that the Colts are
just put five guys on Davante Adams and he still
(01:07:46):
breaks loose for that touchdown reception and he has six
receptions two yards and a touchdown. And the AP Top
College Football Poll came out. The top five did not change,
so Georgia is at number one. Ohio State to Michigan three,
TCU four, Tennessee five. L s U is now at
six seven is USC Alabama moved up to number eight,
(01:08:09):
Clemson climbed into the top ten in there at number nine,
and now Utah is number ten. So that is the
top ten this week. Thank you guys, all right, thank
you very much. Monsey, you know it's so funny and
Bernie and looking at the the games that were earlier,
we spent so much time talking about the Vikings and Bills,
(01:08:29):
and deservedly so because it was it was such an
epic game. UM touched a little Onlins Bears, which was
actually a pretty good game as well, Lions coming back
from that UH two touchdown deficit to end up getting
that win a missed extra point there. But there are
some things that are that may not get as much attention. UM.
I know we talked a lot about Russell Wilson and
(01:08:51):
that's where I'm going with this. Broncos lose seventeen to
ten today. I know Denver lost Jerry Judy early on
in the game to to an injury, but this is
this is the game Denver needs to win, and Russell
Wilson again had an opportunity to UH to save the team.
(01:09:13):
UH drove them down into Tennessee territory. Unfortunately for him
and the Broncos fans through an interception on on the
fourth doul play that ended up sealing their fate, but
again only ten points on the scoreboard. And we talked
about justin Fields just a minute or two ago with
with Adam and figuring out a way what his his
strengths are, Like I I understand, like if you're Nathaniel
(01:09:36):
hack It and you take over a job, it's your
first gig, You're gonna do what you want to do
when you were hired for that. When you bring in
Russell Wilson, you're part of that decision making and there
may take some some amending of defences. It's just crazy
to me on that it's we're still not there yet,
Like we're not even close to being there yet. Completing
fifty of his passes, and this was thought to be
(01:09:58):
a team that was you know, you know, ready set
with with the weapons that they had. Now the weapons
aren't being utilized. You did loose Davante Williams to a
knee injury, but again and an opportunity for maybe the
Broncos too and Russell Wilson to like turn that script.
They muster up just ten points today when the Titans
were short handed out defense and our dealt another loss. Dan,
(01:10:21):
you touched on a couple of good points. Actually a
lot to impact here, because you're spot on about Russell Wilson. Uh,
we were sold that he was the missing link. Denver
has a good defense, They've got some pieces parts of offense.
Simply insured Russell Wilson, Adwater, let Russ Cook and here
we go. Some people thought they'd get to the Super Bowl.
I was not one of them. You know. One of
(01:10:41):
the stats to tell the story of whether or not
a quarterback is truly a dynamic producer on the field.
He's stirred down third down. They don't pay you to
punt third downs, the money down, red zones, the money zone.
Russell Wilson and the Denver Broncos did not convert a
single third down in the second half. That is as
damning as you can find when you juxtapose that with
(01:11:04):
a guy by the name of Gino Smith, who they
wrote off but he ain't right back completing its passes
this year heading into today, twenty touchdowns, five interceptions in
a passer rating a one O six point two, good
for number one in the NFL. Russell Wilson has been
an abject failure in Denver, and let's parlay that with
(01:11:24):
they're making up for it by the fact that Nathaniel
Hackett looks like a guy who's stuck in the mall
parking lot, can't find his car and he's wandering around
his system and Russell Wilson don't mesh whatever that play
calling is. It's abysmal. It's hard to watch if you're
a Broncos fan. This is a proud franchise. John Alway
got it right with Peyton Manning, but that's been the
(01:11:46):
matra for two decades now. They just can't get it
right at the quarterback position, and they apparently can't get
it right at the offensive coordinator position. And now the
head coach, he's all part of the mix. They put
their heads together, make a rock pile. Terrible effort today
in Tennessee. And to your point, that's the game you
have to win if you have designs and getting back
into the playoff fund. I gotta mark that one put
(01:12:08):
their heads together and make a rock file. That's what's
going on in the Mile High City. It's it's I
mean that the Bears can figure it out. And again,
Justin Fields is gonna leave Chicago to the super Bowl.
But this was a month ago where listen, we know
Justin Fields is freakish Athleticism's why it was such a
top regroup coming out of high school and played so
(01:12:30):
well at Ohio State. In this first year there, maybe
took a step back, but there was there's something there
to work with, and you would think that the NFL
veteran that Russell Wilson is that there'd be something there
to work with. And that point about third down and
the stats on third down absolutely staggering. And now we're
in week ten of the season and the Broncos still
haven't figured it out. Well the Chicago Bears have and
(01:12:51):
the situations and that that they're in they're not identical,
but they aren't that far off. Heck, Luke Keetsi and
Nathaniel Hackett came from the same system in Green Bay
a year ago. So so there there are parallels that
you could draw and why Chicago, even though they lost today,
has figured out a way to to make it work.
In Denver hasn't as the uh, you know, the conundrum
that is a stump many in the Mile High City
(01:13:13):
and the other point too, about the new ownership in
Denver that's been brought up of You know, we talked
about new guys being in and George Payton is the
one that you know, did the deal for Russell Wilson
and did the deal to bring in Nathaniel Aackett. But
the ownership is new, and so if you do want
to make your change, you know whether with the head
coach you could actually see something like that, you could
(01:13:34):
see something move along if if the apathy with the fans, uh,
you know, becomes as bad as it could be. With
all due respect, by the way to my Wisconsin compatriots,
great respect, all my years in Big ten country Camp
Randall's quite the experience. I don't know why they stick
with Melvin Gordon either. And there's one other PostScript about
Tennessee heading into today's game. But wise guys had bet
(01:13:54):
Denver plus three. And here's why. Even though Tennessee has
a decent record and they were the number four seed
in the playoff picture heading into today's action, believe it
or not, Tennessee has been out gained in every game
but one heading into today's contest versus Denver. As a
matter of fact, They've not only been out gained an
average of eighty six yards net yards per game against.
(01:14:15):
That's a damning statistic. The Broncos should have come in
and won that game, and historically they've done well off
of bye week as all around for the Denver Broncos.

top of the Colts twenty to nineteen on the Raiders
have the football back first and ten from their own
twenty five yard line, twenty accounting to go in that
(01:14:59):
one that US continues to lead the Packers twenty three
left to go there, and the Cardinals at that seven
point edge on the Rams with the football near midfield
seventeen to ten as they start the fourth quarter, you

change that happened in California, actually the non change that
happened this week, which is unlike so many spots in

this country. That and so much more next year on
Fox Sports Red Zone Radio, Fox Sports Red Zone Radio.
On a Fox Football Sunday, He's Bernie Freddo. I'm Dan Buyer.
A lot of points to get to as these three
late games, one game starting to pull away from one squad,
one's really gotten interesting in the desert, and the Rams

(01:16:06):
in the end zone for the second time today. He
and Dak Prescott hooking up from thirty five yards extra
point is good Cowboys doubling up the Packers now forty
three left to go. In the third quarter, Paris Campbell
scores for the Colts on a thirty five yard touchdown
pass from Matt Ryan. Yes, you heard that right, if
you're just joining us, Matt Ryan once again the starter
(01:16:26):
in Indianapolis. Two point conversion failed, so the Colts lead
the Raiders five to twenty with five minutes to go
in that one, and the Cardinals got the football back
seventeen to ten up on the Rams fo to go
and Cooper Cup two weeks ago suffered that ankle injury
late in that loss to the forty Niners. Well suffered
another lower right leg injury. It appeared on a play
(01:16:48):
against the Cardinals. Had to leave the game this game.
Kyler Murray not starting for Arizona, unavailable today. No Matthew
Stafford for the Rams. So that that's that's where we are.
If the Rams are gonna have to come back there,
gonna have to do it without Matthew Stafford and right
now without Cooper Cup who is on the sidelines nursing
that injury. Tough break for for the for the Rams,
and and for a team that you know, you mentioned
(01:17:11):
how much they've had the number of the Arizona Cardinals
to be that shorthanded, but also have some of the
problems that they've been dealing with, not a lose Cup
and Stafford and not have them available uphill climb, to
say the least, for the Raps today, Bernie, they're just
simply not the same team from the ground up. Obviously
Von Miller is missed, even oh b J has missed.
There's a dynamic this team had last year. They caught
(01:17:32):
lightning in a bottle. They went four straight playoff games,
get the NFC Championship game at home, get the Super
Bowl at home. Give them top credit, but they might
have used up a lot of their NFL karma from
the Gods last year at certain coming back the other
way this year. You know is election week this week
California still no sports spending, Bernie. There's something that you've
you've you've been on big time lately. You know, if
(01:17:53):
this had been a fight, they would have stopped it.
And this is a shame. Both sides spent half a
billion dollars campaigning again to each other. Prop twenty six,
which was funded by about a dozen Indian tribes would
have allowed in person sports bidding at the casinos, and
the prop would have, of course allowed online sports bidding,
and you had bet MGM and Draft Kings and fan
(01:18:13):
Duel all lined up to a tender the one million
dollar license fee, and it would have been great. I mean,
the largest market, New York is doing a billion a month.
But this wasn't to be. Both sides really fought to
make sure the other side lost, and in the end,
everybody lost. I think it'll get revisited in a couple
of years. It's really a shame, though, because it had
(01:18:34):
such promise. You know, the great Randall tex Cob if
you want to call him that, He once fought uh,
Larry Holmes. It was his biggest payday ever and he
almost didn't make weight. He was worried about making weight,
and after the fight he says, you know, I was
worried about the way in. I should have been worried
about the way out. He got pummeled by Larry Holmes
in fifteen rounds and managed to last the distance, but
he was just completely hammered. He asked. He was asked
(01:18:56):
if he'd fight Holmes again, He goes, I don't think
his hands could take it. That reminds me what happened
in California this last week. It's a bit of an embarrassment, Dan,
because thirty two other states managed to find a way
to get this done. Yeah, that was the ads. We're
not gonna miss the ads, by the way, Bernie, We're
not gonna miss the ads and southern California. But not
a winning cause. Okay. So here's how it sets up.
(01:19:17):
As we bring you down the home stretch. Over the
last hour, gream Base got the football again, down two
scores of the Cowboys. Nearing the end of the third quarter,
the Raiders have the football but down five with four
minutes to go to the Colts, and the Cardinals have
the football near midfield up on the Rams seventeen to ten,
about eleven minutes to go in that contest at SOFI
Stadium in Inglewood. Get Bernie on Twitter at Bernie Fretto.
(01:19:39):
You can find me on Twitter at Dan Buyer. On Fox,
could Jeff Saturday be one? And oh as an NFL
head coach? And what are the prospects for Justin Fields?
We'll talk about it next on Fox. We got a
lot to unpack because a lot just went down in
week ten. We're talking of what's happened in a matter
of seconds. We are broadcasting live from the tiract dot
(01:20:00):
Com studios. Ti iract dot com will help you get
there an unmatched selection, fast free shipping, free road, Hanzard
protection and over ten thousand recommended installers. Tire act dot
com the way tire buying should be. Aaron Rodgers and
the Packers were facing a fourth and seven from the
Cowboys thirty nine yard line early in the fourth quarter.
But they're down to scores too close to punt, too
(01:20:22):
far to kick a field goal. You need two touchdowns. Anyway,
they go for it. Boy did they get it. Aaron
Rodgers to Christian Watson, the rookie from North Dakota State
scores for the second time today. That one from thirty
nine yards out extra point is good. Cowboys leave the
Packer while in l A and it's funny, Bernie, because
I was just talking to the guys in the studio.
(01:20:43):
Sean McVeigh called the time out as the Cardinals were
facing a fourth and three from the forty one yard
line with eight minutes to go, and I said that
was a stupid time out. No way is Arizona gonna
go for it? They've been able to put the clamps
on the Rams. You heard Monsey say that Cooper cups
doubtful to return. There's oh, Matthew Stafford. Not only do
they go for it, they connect with cold McCoy connects
(01:21:06):
with Rondale Moore for an acrobatic catch on fourth and
three that puts them down around the twenty yard line.
Then a couple of plays later, James Conner gets into
the end zone. Four Arizona extra point is good. It
was a nine yard rush for the Cardinals running back.
Cardinals lead the Rams twenty four to ten. So I
was completely wrong. I just said, all right, Kingsbury, just
(01:21:27):
punt it. Your defense has been fine. You're facing John
Wolford and that's it. That's that's all you'd be facing
right now. But they threw caution to the win, went
for it and it paid off. Is now it looks
like that four team point lead a bit insurmountable. While
in Las Vegas, the Raiders are driving a buck thirty
five left to go. Colts lead the Raiders twenty five
(01:21:48):
to twenty. Raiders are in the red zone, second down
and ten from the Colts nineteen yard line, so field
goal does no good. Raiders have two time outs left,
Colts have three time outs left. Jeff Saturday a a
eighteen yards away eighteen yards are less away from a
(01:22:08):
stop or for a stop would get him his first
win as an NFL head coach. Um This higher has
been interesting as the Raiders run it with Josh Jacobs
and get a third down. Because of all the flak
that Saturday has gotten this week, and it has come
from all directions, whether it be media members, whether it
be former players, whether it be former coaches, whether it
(01:22:31):
be technical producers of the Doug Gottlieb Show on Fox
Sports Radio. Jeff Saturday has gotten so much flak for
being the head coach of the Colts. In a way,
I'm pulling for him, like I I kind of not
not to prove the doubters wrong, but it just is
such a such a weird spot to be and we've
never seen it before in the National Football League really
(01:22:53):
to the to this extent, at least, I kind of
am pulling for Jeff Saturday, maybe not to take the
job full time, but at least get a win, to
at least, you know, get a couple of wins and
try to, you know, keep the people a little quiet
who were saying that he never should have accepted the
job in the first place. Yeah, lots of unpacked there,
because it's been a crazy Sunday. It's been a crazy week.
First of all, I've been waiting for that quote McCoy
(01:23:15):
Rondale Moore combo to break out, and finally today my
patients was was rewarded. Uh. Interesting dynamic around the entire
Colts franchise with Jim Mercy and just in general, how
they have been perceived by the public. And what happens
now is you bring in Jeff Saturday, who they admitted
has been offered jobs in the coaching ranks, you know,
(01:23:37):
as some sort of assistant, some sort of offensive line
coach or help with the offense, and he's always turned
them down. I really feel his rule is going to
be nothing more than a temporary consigliari for Jim Rcy
and over the remaining nine ten weeks of this season,
player evaluations input give him a vibe in the locker room,
who's going to be here next year, who's not. Where
(01:23:59):
As a team lacking where they need to show up,
Maybe you know in terms of their draft, they're gonna
have a high draft choice. Do they go out and
get a quarterback and start over? What do you do
at the end of the year. It's anybody's guests. And
I do think the hardball thing is very much in
play for a couple of reasons. Remember Dan, Jim Harball
played quarterback for the Colts back of the day, jam
Marcy called him captain comeback when Uh when when? When
(01:24:24):
uh so Chuck mcgot go ahead? I was gonna say,
so close to a super Bowl, you know, and uh
losing to the Steelers in the a f C champions
and uh when Chuck Pogana was fired in well, guess what,
there was a pole and uh there and of the
fans just uh, you know, wanted Jim Harbaugh. What I
(01:24:47):
find interesting is hardballs buy out. We all know about
jimbo Fisher's buyout or hardballs bounce, nothing like that. He
just signed the five year extension on March nine when
he came back into a ward manual that he wouldn't
flirt with the NFL anymore. He's getting thirty six point
seven million dollars. Frank Gregg was making nine million. Here's
the deal, Harball is buy out if you were to leave,
And this is all theoretical. This year is only three
(01:25:10):
million dollars and it reduces on a sliding scheme all
the way down to seven d thousand in the year.
At that point, Harball be about sixty three years old.
But to Adam Camplin's point, and I agree, I think
Hardball is pining to get back into the NFL. Just
like you said, it killed him to lose that Super Bowl,
not only lose it, but to lose it to his brother.
(01:25:30):
So I think what we're seeing with Jeff Saturday is
a stop gap, but it's a pretty good stop bat
gap today because with thirty nine seconds to go, Derek
her just through an incomplete pass in the end zone,
and it looks like Jeff Saturday is gonna go one
and not like you said, Dan, Yeah, I tried to
find uh Foster Moreau at one point across the middle
on a third and six fell incomplete. So on fourth
don Raiders use one of their time outs. They only
(01:25:51):
had two, so they knew that all of the beans
were We're gonna be in this spot, and Derek Carr
through an inner incomplete pass to Davante Adams one on
one coverage to find Gilmore and Davante Adams, and Gilmore
got his hand on the football, knocking it away, and
so the Colts were able to hold the Raiders. And yes,
as he's mentioned, Jeff Saturday one to oh, that's now
(01:26:13):
a final as Matt Ryan the starting quarterback for the Colts.
By the way, that was the curveball to start the day.
A lot of curveballs in week ten, but Matt Ryan
ended up being the starting quarterback. Colts now four five
and one with victory over the Raiders, who are two
and seven on the season. So Jeff Saturday gets a
gets a victory. As for what's happening in l A,
(01:26:33):
John Woolford was just picked off a deflected ball. Buddha
baker Uh took it and ran it back about fifty
yards into Rams territory, just five thirty three left to
go on that one. In Arizona, seemingly on their way
to victory. To ten, things just continue to get worse
and worse for the defending Super Bowl champions. Now on
the verge of falling to three and six, Cardinals would
(01:26:54):
improve the four and six that leaves the Cowboys and Packers.
Is the only game, uh really that remains in the
balance first and tent for the Cowboys ten minutes to go,
They've got the ball at their own thirty six yard line.
The hardball stuff is so interesting, Bernie, because let's there
were only a couple of places where Jim Harbaugh, if
(01:27:16):
you were to return to the NFL, he would go
because we've heard these connections before. We had heard Indianapolis,
as you brought out. We had heard about Miami, his
relationship with Steven Ross, the Dolphins owner, and and and
Ross's connections obviously with the University of Michigan. We had
heard Chicago for the same maybe some of the same
(01:27:36):
reasons that Jim, or say wants him in Indianapolis. And
that's a member of the you know, he was a
member of the Chicago Bears for a while. Well, the
Bears have got their first year head coach, and maybe
things are turning around. Dolphinshire seemed to be turning around
with Mike McDaniels. So there's not gonna be a change
made there. And you just wonder as well. You talked
about the biouts, but just the timing of it. I
(01:27:57):
didn't think that Harbor. I didn't think Harbor would stay
first and foremost of completely wrong that he would stay
this long at Michigan. I thought the lure of the
NFL would have would have brought him back at least
at some point. Maybe the lack of success at Michigan
was the reason that happened. Um, But I don't think
he could have left after last year. I don't think
you have one good season and then and then leave
(01:28:19):
if you have two good seasons, which right now the
Wolverines are undefeated, and you know, full speed ahead to
a showdown in Columbus in less than two weeks where
it could be a very very special season, but even
win or lose that game, or make it to the
playoff and and and win or win and at whatever
the case is. I think these the success of these
back to back seasons, have made it a lot easier
(01:28:42):
for him to leave Michigan. Well, what it has done
is rekindle perhaps NFL interest. Hardball made a point to
fly in Minnesota last year, and March ninth, in an
act of total defiance, he was still mad at his boss,
Ward Manual, the athletic director and a personal friend and
former teammates together at the University of Michigan under Boschan
Beckler for cutting his contract. Hardball didn't speak about it
(01:29:05):
publicly but privately because I've got friends too, and I've
got molds to one who has Thanksgiving dinner at the
Hardball clan. So the bottom line is this Hardball was
bent about that. You bring up a couple of good points,
then you've really done your homework. The Bears and the
McCaskey family have also had a great affinity for Jim Harball.
But when Matt Naggy wasn't fired two years ago, that
(01:29:26):
was going to be the opening. Potentially that didn't happen.
Hardball stays. You're also spot on about Steven Ross. Here's
how close they came in December. And by the way,
Steven Ross the graduate of Michigan, a real estate magnet,
the biggest benefactor in the school history, to the tune
of a hundred million dollars. He wanted Hardball to come
coach his Miami Dolphins. Well, when Michigan fired Brady Hoke,
(01:29:50):
they wanted Hardball. The alumni literally called Steve Ross said,
don't you dare, He's ours. Don't you dare? We will
disown you. And on December twenty Hardball had the press
conference and he was back in Michigan. But Stephen Ross
was basically ready to give him the whole thing, lock
stock and barrel, and he would have been the Dolphins
head coach in had it not been. You know, blood
(01:30:13):
is sticker than water type of thing. So it's back,
always going to be back on the table when Harball
has success. But I will tell you his tenure has
been rocky. There. I stay close to the people and
I managed to get to get my credential for a
game or two every couple of years. Look, Jim Harbaugh
was hired to do three things. Beat Ohio State, win
the Big Ten, and get to the playoff. Until last
(01:30:33):
year he wasn't able to do that, and he had
a lot of detractors. As a matter of fact, it
was about fifty fifty. You see, going ten in two
every year. There's nothing wrong with that. But Lloyd Carr
was already doing that. Lloyd Carr had beaten Ohio State
seven times. Lloyd car had won four Big Ten championships,
one mythical national championship. But in two thousand seven rolled around,
(01:30:54):
they were sick and tired of the same old thing,
and Lloyd Carr was sort of unceremoniously was not fired
that day happened even named the ton lefter Lloyd car
But it really wasn't his choice to leave. He retired
and moved along. The rich Rod experiment was a disaster.
Brady Hope didn't work out. Allah Harbaugh was supposed to
be the savior. He really hasn't been in this last year.
(01:31:14):
He's got a good one loss record, but again he
was hired to get the program over the HOUMP will
see if he could do it this year. I don't
really like his chances at Ohio State in a couple
of weeks where would be an eight and a half
point underdog. So Jim Harball is an interesting guys and
mercurial guys, very much his own man. The last couple
of years, NFL interest very much wane, and that's why
the talk of Hardball potentially going to the NFL was
(01:31:35):
fairly well non existent. But you're starting to see that
rive up a little bit, and his out of caplan
pointed out the right situation he would do it. I
think if Hardball got the money he wanted, he could
bring his staff they would find a tot with Jim Mercy.
The two already know each other. They go back thirty years.
And you know, look, people have their own ideas about
who they like and they're doing like Adam Caplan was
(01:31:56):
exactly right about Matt Patricia. The difference between Matt Patrica
and and Dan Campbell is that Dan Campbell's beloved. He
was a tight end. On the two thousand seventeen that
I covered, Matt Patricia strolls into town. I'm part of
the Patriot way. I'm smarter than you. Try to remind
everybody that every two minutes. He never won the culture,
never won the locker room, never even won the front office,
(01:32:19):
except for Sheila Hampford, because he managed upward. There's a
story Darius Slay will tell what he had left Detroit.
He said at his you know, at his exit meeting
at the end of the season, he told coach Patricia says,
I'm gonna go work out this offseason with with Richard
Sherman and Darrell Reeves. He goes, what are you working
out with those guys for? He goes, I want to
get better? He goes, no, those guys are good. You're
(01:32:40):
no good. While you're working out with him for that's
a real conversation. That's how Matt Patricia talked to people.
It was horrible, and he treated the media poorly too.
So the difference is Sheila Hampford might have liked him,
but no one else did. But everybody does love Dan Campbell.
So it's just my long witted way of saying owners,
as Dave Wants at once said, the most and the
(01:33:00):
three most important things of an NFL franchise. Number one
the owner, number two, the owner number three, the owner
they get what they want, the other the other the
other part of this um at least, So a coach
back to the Colts in Harbaugh. He's gonna be fifty
nine in December. Um, there aren't a lot of teams
that are clamoring for sixty year old coaches. Head coaches
(01:33:20):
in the National Football League. Different game. You know what
else is different, Bernie, The game of college football. And
that's what Michigan needed, is they didn't. They didn't. Yeah,
they needed somebody to beat Ohio State. You're absolutely right,
completely agree with you with that, But you also needed
to get on this new tier of where college football is.
Where you there are very few halves and there is
(01:33:42):
everybody else and to compete with the likes of the Alabama's,
the Clemsons, uh, the Ohio States, Michigan is not there
and so the hope is what guy can take you
and lift you up to that point. And I think
that if you have a back to back seasons again,
whether they wear to losing Columbus and what happens after that,
(01:34:04):
I think he has lifted the program. Yeah, they may
they may not be They're not fully there like Alabama,
but that's what you needed to be and that that
was the That's also the changing landscape in college football.
That may be something that Jim Harball may not want
to deal with, you know, with with how how you know, transfer,
portal and everything else is dealing with Maybe he gets
sick of that. But just for him to get the
(01:34:26):
work done to lift that program to a level where
they weren't, I think it's been the main point where
he can then finally leave and move on. Now that
speaks volumes. Back in they were offering people free cokes
to come to the games, and all of a sudden,
the Big House was only drawn ninety five thousand instead
of a hundred and ten look, Hardball always will be
a Michigan favorite son. He's a Boschem Beckler disciple. He
(01:34:49):
told Boll he wanted to coach, both set him up,
told him some things what to do, and to your point,
he restored the winged helmet and the pride of Michigan football.
They're now back pretty much where they were. They're just
below that elite tier the George's and the Alabama's and
maybe the Clemsons. But they're knocking on the door and
the right where they need to be. And the big,
the big thing about Michigan people, they want their program
(01:35:11):
to be prominent. They wanted to be talked about, and
they are. He's Bernie Fratto, I'm Dan Buyer. It's a final.
We told you. Jeff Saturday gets the wing Colts top
the Raiders to twenty. It's close to being a final.
In l A. Cardinals on top of the Rams to ten,
two oh nine left to go in that one. While
in green Bay, that's the game that hangs right now
(01:35:32):
again in the balance, Cowboys twenty eight Packers one under
six minutes to go. Green Bay, though, has the football
near midfield again, down seven to Dallas and Mike McCarthy's
return to lambeau Field. Welcome to the Fox Sports Radio

Fox Sports Radio, Fox Sports Red Zone Radio. He's Bernie Fratto.
(01:36:15):
I'm Dan Buyer. Glad to have you with us on
week ten. Burning in the seat today for George Rice Stirs,
Georgia not hanging out. Bernie and I have had a
lot of fun over the last couple of hours, and
the fun is not done as we are live from
the tirect dot com studios because the Cowboys and Packers
are tied up at apiece. You heard me right at
the two minute warning. Is Christian Watson just caught his
(01:36:38):
third touchdown Past the Day from Aaron Rodgers. This one
is Watson has four catches for a hundred and seven
yards and three scores, but the latest coming from seven
yards out extra point was good again. Cowboys and Packers
tied up at eight. They're about to end the game
in l A. Rams get a late touchdown pass from
(01:36:58):
John Wolford to Vay Jefferson, but the clock, which is
two seconds remaining, shows Arizona. The scoreboard shows Arizona up
on the Rams to seventeen. Ramsel fall to three and six.
And also they didn't play with Matthew Stafford today lost
Cooper Cup in the second half because of a right
(01:37:18):
leg injury. It was the same ankle that he hurt
two weeks ago. Don't know if they're connected or not,
but Cooper Cup had to leave the game for l A.
Get Bernie on Twitter at Bernie Fratto. You can find
me on Twitter at Dan Buyer. On Fox Bernie, let's
get a quick look at some of our fantasy numbers
with the one and only bow Benson, our executive projects
(01:37:39):
Fantasy Heads and Misses. Bernie, these are the guys that
Bo was gonna tell you that you don't want to
have in your lineup this week, because these are fantasy misses,
guys who may be counted on doing something but didn't bow.
What do you got? All right, We're gonna start with
the quarterbacks. Here, a guy who uh you know Tom
(01:38:00):
eight yards, two touchdowns, one interception, not not the numbers
were used to seeing from Tom Brady. However, he is
undefeated since his divorce, so maybe there's something to that.
Oh yes, Kirk Kirk Cousins a lot of passing yards
through seven yards, a touchdown, but two interceptions and uh
a win because the Bills didn't take Cousins cannot be
(01:38:23):
a fantasy miss. He did not have that many fantasy
points today. The two interceptions killed him. Yeah, not a lot,
but uh, you know that's that's just what the data tells.
That's what the data tells me. How about Russell Russell Wilson,
you know he's been on here so much. We can, yeah,
we can. He could be listening. That could hurt his
(01:38:47):
Camara is on here. He only had twenty six yards today.
Um Derrick Henry did not perform well today, only fifty
three yards for him. Uh. Wide receivers Mike Evans only
fifty four yards receiving. Uh, and j Allan Waddle, the
wide receiver for the Dolphins, just sixty six yards receiving today. Um,
and I guess if coaches had fantasy performances, we would
put Josh McDaniels on here, because wow, that's a Jeff
(01:39:12):
Saturday was right. I'm seeing the tweet be retweeted by
a lot of people. The Raiders look horrible. Uh so funny.
Thank you very much, Bo Benson, get him on Twitter
at bow T Benton. Alright, Cowboys, Uh, unable to convert
on a third and seven, so they're gonna punt it
back to Green Bay a minute forty nine to go.
Tied up at twenty eight apiece packers will have two
(01:39:35):
time outs to work with. Time shouldn't be an issue
when you have Aaron Rodgers. He can manage the clock
well enough. It's just a matter of can their offensive
weapons get them in position. They're gonna start that drive
from about the thirty three yard line. You know what's interesting,
Bernie is Mike McCarthy comes in and he wears a
coat very similar similar to one that Vince Lombardi wore.
(01:39:56):
I thought this spot for Mike McCarthy was actually a
good spot for him not to not the winner lose
the game. But we criticized Mike McCarthy with ease like
it is it's one of the easiest things to do,
and maybe he brings, you know, a lot of that
on himself. But the Cowboys are sitting there at six
and two, going into the place where he won a
(01:40:18):
Super Bowl, has a street named after him outside of
Lambo Field, but yet never really got the credit that
he probably deserves as being the head coach of the Packers.
And there was there was a part of me that
that like that Dallas was coming in there as the
better team. Like if he comes in and and the
Matt Lafleur led Packers are playing some of their football
(01:40:39):
like they did the last couple of years, then it's like,
ha ha, see, we didn't need this guy. But I
just felt that there was a little bit of an uptick,
a little bit of warmth of Mike McCarthy returning. Saw
Aaron Rodgers talk about him this week, give him a
hug pre game. I like the scenario that Mike McCarthy
was walking into because I don't think he ever really
got his do uh in Green Bay, even though he
(01:41:01):
won a Super Bowl. I think you're spot on. Uh,
it's one of those situations where for whatever reason, and
he did win his Super Bowl, but he had back
to back Hall of Fame quarterbacks, and so detractors would
counter with the only one one had the fifteen win
year then got beat by the Giants. There's always some
(01:41:21):
impression in terms of when you look at a guy
like a Mike McCarthy. He doesn't show well in press conferences.
Who can forget the Debacco last year with Dak Prescott
when they tried to spike the ball or handed to
the referee and they clearly weren't prepared in those situations.
I think he's been haunted by the impression he gives
off more than anything else, because you look at a
guy he's got a six hundred winning percentage in his career,
(01:41:44):
He's been to the postseason a ton, he's above five
postseason right, and the players actually like him a lot.
He's he's not a hands on guy. He lets his
coaches do their jobs. Uh, he's not a rabble rouser
in terms of his inability to you know, foster good
working relationships with his players. They the players say good
(01:42:05):
things about him. But at the end of the day, Dan,
You're right, he's not gonna ever be perceived as a
guy you know, mentioned in the shortlist Parcels, Lombardi, Belichick,
McCarthy never gonna happen, even though he has had better
than average career. Yeah, it's because even you know, looking
back at those Packer teams, the one that won Super
Bowl forty five over the Steelers, obviously Rogers wanted. He
(01:42:28):
also had some some guys on the team that were
very likable and very fan friendly. Um Clay Matthews, you know,
a player on that that squad as well. Obviously Rogers
and far were loved by fans, and sometimes when fans
love the players so much, maybe they don't have that
same love for the head coach. Not in in every situation,
but I do sometimes think that that does happen, and
(01:42:51):
I think that happened in Green Bay, that he never
necessarily got the credit that he deserved because of the
greatness of the quarterback x that were around him green Bay,
by the way, on a third and one, really working
the clock making sure Dallas didn't get the football now
punting it away after they were unable to convert on
(01:43:12):
the third and one, Aaron Rodgers and Matt Lafleur exchanging words. Um,
not trying to blow it out of proportion. Rogers walked away,
had something to say. The floor must have said something
to them. They're not having to be separated. But Rogers
is hot on the sideline. But on a fourth and
one from the forty two yard line, when you got
the ball with a minute forty eight left, Um, Green
(01:43:35):
Bay got one first down and that was about it.
So that's how that's how that possession ended up taking over. Actually,
I correct myself, didn't even get the first down. They
had to punt it. Um. They just let the clock
work down. Dallas wasn't calling any time out. So oh boy. Okay, Bernie,
I'm sorry to pause, but I think I read Aaron
(01:43:55):
Rodgers lips for what he said to Matt Lafleur. Okay, okay,
I'm gonna tell you what it is. After Monty Bolanos
gives us the latest live from the tirect dot Com studios.
I just read it, and I'm not joking a lot
of times I'll tongue in cheek. I can't say one
of the words on TV are on the radio that
Aaron Rodgers just said, but I'll tell you after Monty
(01:44:17):
gives us the latest of what's happening on this weekend.
A crazy weekend that started in Germany, craziness in Buffalo,
and now we sit here wondering what's happening in Title town. Well,
I can't wait to hear what you think he said,
because all I saw was that F bomb. That's all
I got. All I got was the F bomb. I
didn't get anything else. So I can't wait to hear
what you think he said, because I was like, what
(01:44:38):
it was. It was a very clear F bomb. So
we'll see how this game ends. Nine seconds to go,
it looks like we're gonna head into overtime. But let's
talk about all the games that happened earlier today, the
one that just finished, Cardinals outscoring the Rams seventeen. Quote McCoy,
who was in for the injured Kyler Murray, twenty six
out of thirty seven passes, two thirty eight yards and
a touchdown. The Olds. They were able to give Jeff
(01:45:01):
Saturday a Sunday fun day. They beat the Raiders. Things
beat the Raiders in Las Vegas five to twenty. Matt
Ryan completed twenty one of twenty eight passes two and
twenty two yards and a touchdown. Jonathan Taylor twenty two
carries for a hundred and forty seven yards and a touchdown.
The crazy game earlier today that went to overtime Vikings
and Bills. It was just crazy. Less than a minute,
(01:45:23):
fourth and inches. It was a quarterback sneak Kirk Cousins
what was stopped? Then Josh Allen fumbled the snap and
the Viking sort of touchdown to go up thirty to
twenty seven. The then Bills hit a twenty nine yard
field goal to tie the game. This all happened in
like ninety seconds. It was insane and it ended up
being a Vikings victory. Thirty three thirty in Buffalo, Minnesota
is now eight and one for the season. The Bills
(01:45:45):
are now six and three. The Steelers they held the
Saints zero points in the second half and one twenty
to ten. The Lions beat the Bears thirty one to thirty.
The Bears missed an extra point after a sixty seven
yard touchdown run by Justin Fields. That's gonna hurt them.
The Aroncos may have held Derrick Henry to just nineteen
carries and fifty three yards. That's my story of why
I hate fantasy football this week is because I have
(01:46:06):
Derrick Henry. So that's that's that's this week. Um, every
every week it's something different why I hate fantasy football.
This this week Derrick Henry. But you know that time
still came out on top seventeen to ten. The Chiefs
beat the Jaguars twenty seven to seventeen. The thing about
that game, Jaguar started the game with an onside kick.
Did you guys see that? I thought it was a
replay of another game. I was like, I was like, oh,
is this is this last week? What is this? They
(01:46:28):
started the game with an on site kick, trying to
be sneaky. It didn't work out that Chiefs still won
twenties seven to seventeen. The Dolphins dominated the Browns seventeen.
Reports just came out that defensive end Emmanuel Ogba suffered
a season ending torn tricept today for Miami that will
require surgery. That just came out. The Giants outscored the
Texans to sixteen, improved to seven and two. Daniel Jones
(01:46:52):
a simple game, completed thirteen of seventeen passes for a
hundred and ninety seven yards and two touchdowns. See Kwon
Barkley thirty five carries, a hundred and fifty two yards
and a touchdown and the game in Germany. Yes, the
Buccaneers defeated the Seahawks twenty one to sixteen. Tampa Bay
improves to five and five for the season. They now
have the best record in the NFC South. Seattle is
now six and four. This was in front of a
(01:47:14):
sellout crowd of sixty nine thousand, eight hundred and eleven
people who and apparently Alliance Arena only holds sixty seven thousand,
but they jammed them in there. They no, no no, no,
this is a one time opportunity to get in their
sixty nine thousand, eight hundred and eleven people. Back to you, guys,
(01:47:34):
a Sunday Funday for Saturday. Yeah, thank you, very very
well done. Monday morning quarterbacks this stuff. My mom texted
me at the time. She loved how the fans were singing,
you know, John Denver the Country Roads, uh and uh.
(01:47:55):
Also there was some Sweet Caroline being sung as well,
some Neil Diamond going on. Tom Brady reference that I'm
glad I got to wake up at six thirty local time.
To watch my Seahawks lose. But hey, comes with the territory.
Sure it does. Get Monty on Twitter at mons Belanio. Thanks.
You want to hear what Aaron Rodgers said? Yes, I do. Okay, Bernie,
you ready for this. I'm this is not a joke.
(01:48:17):
I'm percent sure he said this. We've been bleeping running
the bleep out of the ball. This in reference to
the third and one pass play and Green Bay also
having two time outs and basically wasting ninety seconds of
the clock and then having to punt. It was it
(01:48:38):
was clock management that Mike McCarthy wouldn't want to admit it.
I'm sure some probably thought he was the one doing it.
But that is what Rogers said to Matt Lafleur as
he walked past. And then he had some other words.
But I am I am ninety nine nine percent sure
that that's what Rogers said to Matt Lafleur. Because on
(01:48:58):
third and one they ran a little rollout. Rogers had
to dump it off. You couldn't go for it on
fourth and one. There's twenty two seconds left. The Cowboys
had all their time outs. They could have just completed
one passing, but in field goal range and and won
the game. But to do nothing with the ball to
get nine yards and after punt with a buck forty
eight left to go in two time outs, I would
(01:49:19):
be frustrated to if I was Aaron Rodgers. He's on
solid ground. They've run for about two yards city and
averaging almost six yards to carry, So uh hard to
argue with the logic, Dan, Yeah, I mean especially too,
if there's a way you can manipulate a Dallas was
not gonna call any time outs. Green Bay is green
Bay was in the driver's seat in that situation. Um,
(01:49:40):
by running the football, you forced you forced Dallas to
end up calling those time outs if you continue to
run the football or um, you know, there's just a
lot of ways they could have been the aggressor. And
they were super, super passive. And now they're in overtime,
and the Cowboys won the toss in overtime, so they'll
get the they'll get the football at Green Bay. We'll
(01:50:01):
have to kick, so if the Cowboys go down and
score a touchdown, that game will be over. He's Bernie Fratto,
I'm Dan Buyer. This is Fox Sports Red Zone Radio.
What we're gonna do, We're gonna take our last time out.
All of the show come back with hopefully the conclusion
on the Cowboys Packers game, and also some m v ps.
That's next year. He's Bernie Fratto. I'm Dan Buyer. This
is Fox Sports Radio, Fox Sports Red Zone Radio. He's
(01:50:24):
Bernie Fratto. I'm Dan Buyer. Thanks Bernie. It's been a
lot of fun today, Dan, I've had a blast. I
really appreciate you let me jump on the Sunday party.
Make no mistaken, he's a party. And then for a
guy who's like on probably thirty minutes of sleep, we
appreciate the the extra effort. Cowboys have the football at overtime,
tied up at twenty eight with green Bay seven thirty
(01:50:46):
to go. They're facing a second down and ten from
the Packers forty two yard line. Again, Dallas won the toss,
got the football, so they need a touchdown if they
want to end the game on the drive. Packers had
an opportunity, uh, near the end of regulation, didn't do
anything with the football, maybe to the fault of their
(01:51:07):
own or the play calling, but uh, Dallas won the toss,
got the football now at green Bay territory. But again
need to touchdown if they want to end the game
on this drive at second and ten from the forty
two yard line of Green Bay, so they are in
Packers territory with seven nine left to go in overtime
and a run now has the Cowboys down to about
(01:51:30):
the twenty five yard line. But there's some laundry on
the field. There was some laundry on the field. A
little bit earlier. A Cowboys player lined up off sides
on offense Bernie that is prob rarely see in the
National Football League. But then when he realized that he
was a half yard passed the line of scrimmage, ended
up trying to move back and then was busted for
(01:51:50):
a legal motion. So it yeah, yeah, like it was.
It was amazing because he was ending on the line
and i was even telling the guys during the break,
I'm like, he's off sides, Like you can completely see this.
Why why does it he move back? Cowboys thought that
they had a first down deeper into Packard territory. Holding
(01:52:11):
penalty is gonna push them back, so it's first down
and actually gonna be second down. In nineteen from the
spot of the foul. Seven minutes and counting both teams
have two time outs in this overtime session. As uh now,
Deak Prescott's gonna be facing a third down and short.
What we're gonna do here, Bernie is We're gonna play
(01:52:32):
our m v P s and then hopefully be able
to bring you this conclusion of the Packers Cowboys game.
These are the most valuable plays of Week ten. But
this is Fox Sports Red Zone Radio. Let's go most

Football Sunday. Great job done by Ricky Herrera and our
Week ten highlights. It's still twenty at all. He's Bernie
freddoh I'm Dan by air Packers and Cowboys in overtime.
What transpired was the Cowboys turned it over on downs,
had a third and four and a fourth and four
from the green Bay thirty six thirty five yard line. Uh,
(01:56:23):
could not get it done. Too far to kick a
field ago. You don't want to punt to that situation.
Very manageable, but the Cowboys couldn't do it. Now Aaron Rodgers,
Bernie takes over second and nine from the Cowboys thirty six.
They've got one time out left. Um, Aaron Jones doing
some work on the ground. If I'm Dallas, that's the
errand I'm worried about I'm actually not as worried about
(01:56:46):
Aaron Rodgers in this situation, as crazy as it is,
green Bay has shown that they want to run the ball.
You mentioned the stats earlier. Jones over a hundred yards
today drew five to be exact in a score. That's
who I'm worried about. If I'm Dallas, I'm worried about
Aaron Jones and not Aaron Rodgers. That's fair observation. And
I gotta tell you, Dan, should green Bay close this out,
(01:57:09):
you think those penalties and the yards lost on that
previous drive. There by Dallas will come back to haunt him. Ever,
at the beginning of the year and the press conference
and Mike McCarthy said, we're gonna clean up the penalties
this year. And he had like seventeen in their first
preseason game. Ten penalties today for ninety yards. That didn't
help those penalties on that last drive. And just as
(01:57:31):
I say, don't worry about Aaron Rodgers, worry about Aaron Jones.
Aaron Rodgers has hit Alan Lazard for a significant gain
that's gonna put Green Bay in field goal rain. So
Lazard goes for thirty seven yards all the way down
to the Dallas nineteen. Here's the other thing, Burne, you
know what weather's like, you know what what it's like
(01:57:52):
in the Upper Midwest. On November thirteenth, that football a
little tougher to kick. They even showed Brett Mayer, the
Cowboys kicker, warming up his foot as a possible attempt
for a field goal when the Cowboys had the football.
But you're talking about, you know, kicking a rock that's
you know, from fifty three yards out. Not necessarily the
best situation for the Cowboys. Uh, in that scenario, to
(01:58:13):
UH to go for a field goal, so they had
to go for it. Earlier Mason Crosby tried to kick
a field goal, wasn't even close from fifty four yards,
and that was probably when it was about ten degrees
warmer than it was right now. So green Bay UH
now likely gonna have a closer shot as Aaron Jones
took a handoff and the Cowboys are gonna get busted
with a face mask penalty, a blatant face mask on
(01:58:37):
Aaron Jones. So now green Bay is gonna have pretty
much nothing but a chip shot away from winning this
game and ruining Mike McCarthy's homecoming, even though he's not
from green Bay. Still works when the streets named outside
are named for the outside of the stadium, and that
slant pass was reminiscent from bred Fire to Greg Jennings,
look at the pack here turning back the clock. By
(01:58:57):
the way, if they hold serve here, big wise guy
later to here in Vegas, Dan, green Bay plus the
four and a half Rogers will now be eleven and
one straight up and against his spread after games in
which he only scored ten points. Your list. Get Bernie
