Speaker 1 (00:01):
Don't listening to sports count them one, two, three, four
great games in this late window. Listen, I'm not over
selling it either. Even the worst game of this four
games set that we've gotten Week thirteen still has some
intrigue because the Seahawks are trying to break through and
(00:23):
get into the playoffs. The Rams, while completely shorthanded, have
had the Seahawks number over these last few years, and
that's a ball game in l A. Plus, the Chargers
try to get revenge against the Raiders from what happened
in Las Vegas last season. And then you got the
two Titans. Listen, we knew Kansas City and Cincinnati was
going to be a game, and the Bengals just got
(00:45):
into the end zone. We'll tell you how they did
that in just a second. But we've also got the
Dolphins and the Niners Shanahan against McDaniel in a tight one.
We've got a dandy afternoon for you as we are
broadcasting live from the entire act dot Com studios. Tirect
dot com will help you get there an unmatched selection,
fast free shipping, free road hanward protection and over ten
(01:07):
thou recommended installers. Tire act dot com, The Way Tire
buying should be in George. I want to start in
Cincinnati because the Bengals did get into the end zone.
Is Joe Burrow hit te Higgins from twelve yards out
to extend the Bengals lead fourteen to three early in
the second quarter. And I know that no team in
the NFL is afraid of another team, but there is
(01:30):
absolutely no fear for the Bengals when they take on
the Chiefs. They beat him in Cincinnati last season and
the regular season. Obviously, we know what happened in the
a f C Championship game last year. And now Cincinnati
coming out and beating the Chiefs early on. There may
be some trepidation with teams Kansas City and Kansas City
comes here to the Chiefs. That doesn't seem to register
with the Cincinnati Bengals. Yeah, well, why why would they care?
(01:55):
I wouldn't care. I mean, this is a team that
is clearly mortal. They have already lost two games this season,
and you beat them last year in the playoffs. So
you're like, yeah, yeah, we can, we can win. But
you do understand the gravity of the situation. Now when
you get in those you're saying, all right, we can't
come out here and and be and be uh and
(02:17):
be lacks of days ago. We can't bring our c game.
This is one of the games that it's funny because
it's very difficult to be the Chiefs because you get
everybody's a game every single week because they know that
if you don't bring that a game that you will
blow them out, So so it makes it harder. It's
it's it is much easier to be the Jacksonville Jaguars
(02:43):
than it is and much easier to be the Cincinnati
Bengals than it is to be the Kansas City Chiefs.
It's the hunter versus the hunted. There is there is
something though, I do believe in invalidating what we've got
like this. This Bill's Chiefs rivalry is an intriguing one.
(03:03):
The Bills have actually won in Kansas City the last
couple of regular seasons, but it was the divisional playoff
game in Kansas City where the Bills thought they'd won,
and then Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelsey and Tyree Kill
and Harrison Butker had different ideas. But Kansas City ends
up winning that game and and yeah, you know Bills
went there. And one earlier this year but nobody's like
(03:25):
had Kansas City's number. And I don't know if you
could call it the Bills having their number, you say
that they have them there, there are a number number
any anytime they get into a game that matters Kansas
City wins. Well, I'm just they didn't win the a
f C Championship game against Cincinnati last year. No no, no,
no, no no no no. I'm talking about the Chiefs and
(03:45):
the Bills. Okay, So that that that if that, if
you never win any of the significant games, what doesn't matter.
If you win a regular season Oh, we we beat
him every time in the regular season, But but when
all the chips are on the line, they beat us
as opposed to Cincinnati. They believe like, oh hold up,
(04:06):
hold up, we can we can beat these dudes in
the playoffs because we did it last year. But there
is gonna be a heightened sense of awareness because they
know that to win that game last year they had
to walk through the rain drops. Well. Well, I I
just I look at it like where nobody and I'm
not saying that Cincinnati would have Kansas City's number if
(04:31):
they win today. It's just for some reason, like the
league is having a very difficult time in breaking through
and figuring out Kansas City. I don't know how given
great Kansas City is this year, we know that Patrick
Mahomes is, you know, right now the front runner to
win the league's MVP, best record of the a f C.
But for Cincinnati, and in going into the week, George,
(04:54):
I thought this was a game that Kansas City is
going to win. I just thought like, okay, this is
and maybe that's where slanted point of view comes from.
I'm like, all right, the Chiefs are gonna go to
Cincinnati because of the recent history, because of what's going on,
and they're going to They're gonna leave with a victory
because that's what the Chiefs do, and I think they will.
(05:16):
I still believe they will leave with a with the victory.
And remember Dan, I think sometimes because me and you
are really big college football fans too, write and there
are other people that are like us, so I think
sometimes we forget that there's a big difference in college
football and the in the NFL. When when like you
(05:38):
have a team that's quote unquote supposed to be good
in college football and they never can beat anybody badly,
then that's a red flag in the NFL, just winning
is all that matters. Doesn't matter how you win if
you like that that if you win every single game,
because so many of them finish, like pretty much every
(06:01):
single game finishes in a one score game. So if
you win by seven, as long as you don't have
to come back every single game, then then there's nothing
to be alarmed about in the NFL. Do you do
you do you think that Kansas City and like, if
we're taking teams over the last five years, they would
be the the cream of the crop in the NFL, right,
(06:23):
I mean they're probably like if you were to pick
one thing who said the best like last five years,
would you say the Chiefs? Yeah, yeah, I would say easy, easy,
the Chiefs because the because you would have put the
Patriots in there until but then Brady Brady was gone
and the Cowboys have been up and down. The only
other team that I think that you can even I
(06:45):
guess put in there would be the forty Niners and
the and the Packers because they've had so much consistency.
But now the Packers consistency has gone to Yeah, and
the Chiefs have the Super Bowl win, which would trump
you know what the Niners or what the Packers did,
especially because it was over the Niners as well. But
that's like, that's that's where like I that's how I
(07:08):
look at this is like and and and Cincinnati. You know,
is it Johnny Come Lately once Joe Burrow comes into town.
But yet all of a sudden, it's like, Wow, that's
the team that's gonna have have their number. Like you know,
you mentioned like life in the NFL and how it's
easier to be the Jaguars and the Chiefs, and I
agree with that. I actually I think that you're right.
That's what's actually tough to play at Duke, you know,
(07:30):
like because every time you lose, every student body rushes
the court if it's on the road, like every anytime
Duke plays, it doesn't matter if they're ranked you know,
one or twenty one. You're you're a road game and
you have Duke coming to your gym and you win,
you know, fans are rushing the court, prime, prime, prime example.
I see it with my son's high school in football
(07:52):
and basketball, right in girls basketball because they they're one
of the top teams in the country and all of
these things, especially in in in hoop and I see
it with Bronnie Bronnie James all the time because so
they literally get even of the good teams like like
like when they play other nationally ranked teams, they those
(08:13):
teams are up even more because of who's on the court.
So like you never and and those other teams they
get to play in obscurity and just on a regular
you know, in the in the NFL, the normal nondescript
one ten ten am kick off that other people are
watching the other game more and the UH and the
(08:36):
top teams don't get that luxury. You get everybody's a
game and then you have to like ward off that
every single week because there's no way to have your
a game every single week in the season. So the
fact that you have to a ward that off every
week is incredible. It's it is a pressure, and you're right,
Kansas City gets that every single week. The point that
(08:59):
that I think is in testing Cincinnati and again first
half and they're up eleven. By the way, Jimmy Garoppolo
has been ruled out for the rest of the game
for the forty Niners, left early with an ankle injury.
They're still tied with the Dolphins at ten apiece, but
Jimmy Garoppolo has been ruled out for the rest of
the game, so it's the brock Purson Dolphins just keep
running through the rain drops. Bro oh so so like
(09:22):
prior to the game, this is what I was talking
about it this week, and I picked the forty nine ers,
not not because I think the Dolphins are bad, but
because the they have, like they've literally run through the
rain drops like they have. All the teams that they've
played have have literally not been either at full strength,
(09:47):
like quarterback problems something except for the Ravens when when
the Ravens literally gifted them a game in in in
a manner that I have never seen where there was
no turnovers, no you know, blocked punt, drop punt or
something like that, and you lost the game when you
were essentially up twenty four points in the in the
fourth quarter, like I've never seen that happen in the
(10:09):
in the NFL. So like to to see that and
then to it to not have lost the game as
the starter this year, like you felt like it had to.
You know, they they're gonna have to face adversity and
some sometimes, but if things keep playing out like this,
then there's no way that it keeps were working out
like this in the playoffs. I would bet against them
(10:32):
every single week in the playoffs because there's only so
much luck that you get on these so many fortunate bounces.
They did have a five game stretch that had very
favorable matchups, you know, you know they the Dolphins ended up.
You know, they took care of the Texans last week
in a game that was done at halftime, basically. But
(10:54):
I see what you're saying that the Steelers, Lions, Bears, Browns,
and Texans. But I mentioned Browns, and that's that's not
to put them. They're gonna be a whole other topic
of conversation on the show. But like when we talk
about the Bengals and not yet having Kansas City's number,
but if they win this game, that'll be you know
three in orrow, Joe Burrows your quarterback. And now you
(11:16):
start to wonder, like, what is it with Cincinnati? I
get it, like if the Browns have the Bengals number,
because you know what Brown's like, the their style of play,
It's like that that that five team or that six
win team that for some reason just always plays like
a top team. Well, like you get that, like you know,
the matchups and this is this team can come and
(11:38):
bite that really good team in the butt any time
that they play. That's just the way it is with
the Bengals and with the Chiefs being who they are, Like,
it's not like the Bengals are sneaking up on Cincinnati
and the Bengals are still able to have their way,
which is what I think is so surprising, and that's
what just stands out to me. And the Bengals ended
up having to pun it back to Kansas City. Still,
(12:00):
Chiefs will get the football back in their own territory.
But it's not like the Bengal snuck up on Casey.
And that's why I like to go back to just
to the main point. It's why I like to Kansas
City today because I'm like, Yeah, the Bengals aren't gonna
aren't gonna be sneaky. Chiefs know exactly what's gonna happen,
and they're gonna be ready for it. And they may
be ready for it, George, but for some reason, the
Bengals right now sitting on on eleven point lead, and
(12:21):
that's what I think. It's crazy. Yeah, I mean, and
we've seen this many many times with with Kansas City,
where like stuff doesn't seem like it's going well, and
then all of a sudden, you know, they hold them
to a couple of field goals and then they touch down, fumble, touchdown.
Oh my god, it's a one score game. So it's
(12:43):
and that's honestly the thing that I love about the NFL.
Then it's just that you can't beat anybody in the
first quarter. You can't beat him in the second, you
can't beat him in the third. Like it is just
like you must win the entire game, unless it's the
Dolphins Texans completely that that's that's the exception to the rule.
(13:03):
He's George Rice there, get him on Twitter at George
Rice stir. You can find me Dan Buyer on Fox. Well, yeah,
at Dan Buyer on Fox. That's the Twitter address going around.
The NFL mentioned the Bengals still have that fourteen three
lead on Kansas City Dolphins, and nine are still tied
up at ten Brock party again, gonna be the Niners
quarterback the rest of the way, six forty and counting
(13:24):
in that one, Chargers have added a field goal, they
got a defensive touchdown, and now they put three more
points on the board. They lead in Las Vegas against
the Raiders ten minutes to go until halftime and that
one ten nothing, and the Seahawks against the depleted Rams
team have a fourteen to ten lead but one injury.
Of notes, Seahawks running back Kenneth Walker the third questionable
to return to the game with an ankle injury. I
(13:46):
thought it was a growing injury the way that he
was acting um early on in the game, but the
Seahawks are characterizing it as an ankle injury for Kenneth
Walker the third, So one of their valuable weapons maybe
on the shelf for the rest of this one. It

All right, he's George Royster, I'm Dan Buyer. Coming up next,

we'd be saying that that's next year on Fox Sports Radio.

Higgins out to the right. Burrow throws a slag Higgins,
we didn't catch, get it? He breaks a tackle, he
extends the ball, touchdown the Stangos as the Pangals score
touchdowns on their first two drives. Now back live to
(15:41):
the studios of Fox Sports Radio. This is Fox Red
Zone Radio. He's George Rice or the NFL vat. I'm
(16:02):
Dad Buyer this week thirteen in the NFL. You just
heard the highlight courtesy of the Bengals Radio network. Kansas
City trying to answer that score. They've got a first
goal down at about the Bengals one yard line. Jo,
I know that it's not that I know what I'm saying,
(16:22):
like like to where people were watching the game, like,
oh my god, Tinnati's dominating Kansas City, Like slow down, bro,
that it is not possible to score enough points in
the second quarter that Kansas City can't come back and win.
It's literally not possible for any other team in the
NFL to score enough points. I mean, even even if
(16:45):
it were fifty to twenty at halftime, I would still
believe that Kansas City could score enough points in the
in the second half to come back and at least
tie the game. Uh. I mean, you are the the
true true believer. The Chiefs know that what what what
amount of points? What deficit could a healthy Kansas City
(17:09):
have at halftime? That, I mean, a reasonable depths and
thirty points ain't even reasonable, But what deficit could they
have that that you'd be like, oh, no, that's too
much right there, Okay, I would say thirty five exactly
do you realize how do you realize the set of
events that would have to happen for them to be
(17:31):
down thirty five? I know, But if it was if
it was thirty as you said, I'm like, well, they
score to open up the second half. Now it's thirty seven,
you get a stop and you score again, and now
all of a sudden it's a two score game. Um, yeah,
that's yeah. So that's why that's why I went to
thirty five. I wanted to make it a five score
(17:51):
game because the four score game just doesn't doesn't do
it for me. The the Bengals, by the way, faked
and injury so they could um, so they could get
their subs in gow. Do you feel about that? Is
that is that good good gamesmanship? Or does Dan dan
Buyer frowned upon that sort of activity. Well, it's funny
(18:13):
because you know the Seahawks back in the day did
it to the Bengals, uh in a playoff game late eighties.
This is when Boomers sis and we're running, you know,
running that you know uh, no huddle offense, and the
Seahawks would do that, and they booed, you know, like
crazy for it. Um, I don't like it. In saying
all of that like that would have made me a
(18:34):
reason I do not like it, because I do like
this the strategy of the Chiefs saying, all right, we
just got a first down. We love the personnel that
the Bengals have on defense, let's take advantage of it.
Let's you know, let's run a h hurry up. Like
I I think that the Bengals wanted to stop that,
then they should call a time out. That that should
(18:56):
be what they need to do. So I am not
a fan of faking the injury. Yeah, dude, did you
see the oh and then a drop touchdown by Marquez
Valdes Scantley. But did you see the previous play prior
prior to that, where Jered McKinnon tried to run it
(19:16):
in for a touchdown and we nearly had a butt
fumble Part Part two. It was a butt tackle, but dude,
he ran into the back of the offensive linement's butt
and and just I mean it looked like it looked
like um Cam Rising getting hit in the USC game.
He just eject those seated him backwards. I was like, bro,
(19:39):
get some muscles. So man McKinnon redeemed himself. Just now
to your touchdown reception from Patrick Mahomes. Extra point is good.
So the Chiefs within four hidden Cincinnati. Gosh, we've had
a butt punt this year, you know a lot of
and now we could have had a butt fumble Part two,
a lot going on. Rams have kicked a field goal. Seahawks,
(20:00):
get the football back. That's a one point game. He's
George Rice to get him on Twitter at George Riceter.
You can find me on Twitter at Dan Buyer on Fox.
Let's bring in our executive producer Bo Benson, who has
a look at some of our fantasy hits for week thirteen.
As we are live from the tirect dot com studios.
Let's hit it up, go fantasy heads and misses. All right, George,
(20:22):
are we're gonna hear a lot of your players in
this in this segment? Or is it gonna be one
of those days? Oh Man, Listen, all the people that
he's gonna say fantasy misses are playing against me today
except for um Garrett, Garrett Wilson and uh and Brown.
(20:44):
But I may be able to fade Browning and Wilson
because two quarterbacks are out for the game today. Alright,
We're gonna start with quarterback Jalen Hurts. Three internewed yards passing,
three touchdowns and a rushing touchdown on top of it,
gonna head over to the running back. I could Jalen Hurts.
I had. I have Jalen Hurts in the league, and
(21:07):
I had Travel Lawrence as his backup. And I thought,
you know, Lions Jaguars could get into like one of
those silly do I dare bench Jalen Hurts. I did
not good, Yes, I did not. Headed over to the
running backs. A J. Dialon of the Packers. He had
ninety three yards and a touchdown. The big day today
(21:28):
was from a bunch of wide receivers across the league.
We got four guys worth noting here. Uh the Eagles
duo A J. Brown eight receptions for a hundred nineteen
yards and two touchdowns against his former team. Uh Davonte
Smith he had five receptions for a hundred two yards
and a touchdown. Alman Ross st. Brown of Alliance He's
on here a lot eleven receptions a hundred fourteen yards
and two touchdowns and as George mentioned, Garrett Wilson of
(21:49):
the Jets kind of becoming a true number one. He
had eight catches for a hundred and sixty two yards
today and no scores, but piling up those receptions and
yards for him. Man, that was a crazy Vikings Jets game. Um,
we'll get into in a little bit. But there's still
Minnesota they want today, but they are still a Minnesota.
Get bow on on Twitter? It's at bow t Benson,
(22:12):
is that correct? Sure? Sure we can do it? Is
it at bow bets that I can't? It's it's actually
at bo not Jackson. I'm trying something new with my
my name. So sure, yeah, all right, it's all right.
That's that's the way that is there. You just off Twitter?
Are you done with it? That's you know? No? Yeah, no,
(22:33):
I I changed it. Um. I am tired of being
in in real life. I'm tired of being called bean
or beu, and I feel like reading people get the
same thing. So we're trying something new. But yeah, I
get I guess they're like, well do you do you
know how to spell beautiful? Yeah? I didn't even realize
(22:55):
you changed your Twitter handle. I had no idea and
then I just went to search you. I couldn't find anything.
So this is what did you the way I hold up,
I'm I missed, Well, what did you change it to?
It is a bow as a it's a bo not Jackson.
Jason Jackson. Yeah, okay, there it is all right, And
(23:18):
my disappointed name is very christmas e and it works
better with yeah, bow not Jackson. That could that could stick,
all right, that's get him on Twitter at bow not Jackson.
Do you think that, uh, Brock Purdy I can get
(23:39):
this done for the forty Niners George Um in this
game against the Dolphins today, because you know, in a
in a in a roundabout way, not that you want
Jimmy Garoppolo hurt, but I think this is a very
good like, this isn't necessarily awful for Jimmy Garoppolo if
Brock Purty just comes in and is completely average and
(24:00):
that shows, hey, Jimmy G looks is a little bit
better than maybe we give him credit for. I know
that you obviously would want to be healthy. I'm just
trying to put a silver lining on the Jimmy G
injury that maybe in the long run, it's like Okay.
It's like the person who goes off Facebook for a
week because they want to see how many people missed them,
and then in reality nobody does. And then they're like, Okay,
(24:20):
I guess this is who I am. But this could
make the forty Niners fans miss Jimmy Garoppolo some if
he has to miss any more time with this ankle injury.
Of course, bros, they're like, yeah, let's go tray Lands,
you're the man. And then and and then some of
those same people were saying, oh, man, man, Jimmy's our guy.
(24:44):
And then and then Jimmy comes back and they say, okay, cool,
at least if Trey's bad, we we have an insurance policy.
Trey gets hurt immediately. Okay, fine, we will deal with Jimmy.
It's okay. Jimmy was better anyway. And then they're like, god,
now I remember why we wanted an upgrade over Jimmy Garoppolo.
(25:05):
And now Jimmy garoppolos out. They're like, wait, that's it's
it's gonna it's It's amazing on how the stock of
Jimmy g ever even saw a story prior to kick
off the the forty Niners and open to a possible
you know, reunion and three and I and I and
(25:27):
I felt like that was always the case if the
forty Niners go and run the table. But if they
don't and there are other options out there, I think
that the forty Niners would not be as apt to
bringing Jimmy Garoppolo back like they bring them back if
they have the ultimate success. And I don't know how
you move on from him if you want a super Bowl.
But if you don't get to that point, I don't
(25:49):
I don't know why the forty Niners wouldn't look to
either upgrade or again put their fortunes in the hands
of Trey Lance, considering it would be pretty much the
same scenario as you had a year ago, where you
fall short of the Super Bowl and an NFC Championship
game quarterbacks changed with with Trey Lands being out for
(26:09):
the season, that is optimal scenario at this point. That is,
you would that that's better because Trade Lands is out
for the year. That's better than having a losing season.
At least as a forty Niners fan, you can still
be excited every single week and then you can say,
oh good, we're gonna be in position to maybe still
(26:31):
win a Super Bowl, I'm sorry, win some playoff games
and do some really good things. So yeah, I'd be
excited if I'm uh forty. Niners are driving and Christian
McCaffrey has just taking a pass into the flat and
has got them down to about the dolphins h five
yard line. But clock is ticking. There's twenty seconds to go.
(26:52):
Niners just have one time out, so there's now some
confusion on the Dolphins side of things, and the Niners
do run another play and McCaffrey gets about a gain
of two. Now you call the time out. It allows
you to throw one or two into the end zone
and if it doesn't work, then he kicked the field
goal on fourth down. He is George Rice stir, I'm
(27:13):
dan fire. Let's jump over to the news desk. There
are three other games going on outside of this Dolphins
Niners game, and an interesting earlier window and Week thirteen
as well. Monty Belanos is here with the latest. What's
going on, monsy, Hi, guys, Happy Sunday. These are some
close games we've got going on right now. Like the Raiders. Yeah,
(27:34):
they just tied the game against the Chargers thanks to
Daniel Carlson hitting a fifty five yard field goal, So
they are tied at ten apiece with a little over
two minutes to go in the first half. And the
Bengals do have a lead on the Chiefs, but the
Chiefs have cut down that lead. They're only a fourteen
to ten about ninety seconds to go in the second quarter.
We'll see what the forty Niners do, Like you were saying,
(27:54):
twelve seconds left on the clock. They have the ball.
We'll see if they score. But they're definitely knocking on
the door against the Dolphins, and they're tied at ten
a piece, about to head into halftime. The Seahawks and
the Rams are at halftime, and sorry, I was looking
at fort Niners. The Seahawks are beating the Rams fourteen
to thirteen at halftime. No score yet for the forty
Niners will probably go their third and goals, so they
(28:14):
still have chance. Everything you said, Dan is literally happening
right now. Literally play zone exactly two plays literally what
you said, and if now you're gonna kick the field goal,
literally foreshadowing what's happening in the game. Eight games already
in the books for a week thirteen, The Steelers. They
held on and beat the Falcons nineteen to sixteen. The Packers,
(28:35):
they came alive in the second half, I mean eighteen
unanswered points by Green Bay in the fourth quarter, and
they won twenty eight to nineteen against the Bears. Dare
I say it? Jared Goff was the m v P today.
The Lions dominated the Jaguars forty to fourteen. He threw
for three hundred and forty yards and two touchdowns. The
Jets they outscored the Vikings in the second half, but
that didn't matter because the Vikings found a way to
(28:57):
win again twenty seven to twenty two. The Eagles, no problem.
Cruise passed the Times thirty five to ten. In this
week's episode of Why Hate Fantasy Football, it starts Derrick
Henry So, uh there? I don't even know was he there?
Did he stay in Tennessee? I'm not entirely sure, but
Jalen heard you guys heard both three hundred yards, three
touchdowns in the air, one rushing touchdown a j Brown,
(29:19):
eight receptions a hundred and nineteen yards and two touchdowns.
Broncos and Ravens. Total snooze fest. You could have slept
throughout that game until the final minute, when the Ravens
scored the only touchdown of the game and survived ten
nine over the Broncos. Lamar Jackson left early in the
second quarter with the knee injury. They're saying it's not
season ending. Hard Boss head coach Hard Boss says that
(29:41):
he thinks it's days two weeks, but there's gonna be
more tests coming tomorrow on that knee. The Commanders and
the Giants, that one ended in a tie. Graham Gono
could have won the game for the Giants, but he
missed a fifty fifty eight yard field goal in the
final seconds. The Browns beat the Texans fourteen in spite
of what Deshaun watch. Indeed, it was their defense and
(30:02):
their special teams. They had an interception return for a touchdown,
a fumble return for a touchdown, a punt return for
a touchdown, and a safety. They accounted for twenty four
of the twenty seven points that Cleveland put on the scoreboard,
and they beat the Texans fourteen. Deshaun Watson completed twelve
two passes for a hundred and thirty one yards, no
touchdowns and one interception. Back to you guys, thank you
(30:25):
very much Monty. It is Fox Sports Red Zone Radio,
and Christian McCaffrey got into the end zone a four
yard actually about a two yard touchdown passed from Brock
Purty with four seconds left, nine up, seventeen to ten,
go ahead, George Dan. If the forty Niners win this
game without I mean, on their third string quarterback for
(30:48):
damn near the whole game, it should Dolphins fans be
even a little bit alarmed. Um. Interesting question. No, I
don't think so, because I think I know you do.
I know you do, But I I don't think so
because I think what's happened in this matchup, because the
(31:12):
coaches know themselves, know each other so well that that
comes into play here. Like I'm actually surprised at seventeen
to ten in this scenario that it is, I see,
I wouldn't be alarmed into like in the sense of like,
oh my god, this guy has fallen, but alarmed like
(31:35):
maybe we're not quite as good as I think we are,
like that to where we are. We're still a playoff team,
but there's some stuff we gotta get better at. Yeah,
that's the way I would feel about. Yeah, Yeah, I
I think so. I I don't think in this in
this matchup of you know, two teams who are so
um again just like you know how they kind of
(31:58):
mirror each other. And the Dolphins throw the ball a
lot more than the Forts do. But when you talk
about the weapons and the different weapons everywhere, it is,
it is intriguing to see these teams go head to
head to see, Okay, how does Kyle Shanahan slowed down
to ah, how does Mike McDaniel in their defense figure
out a way to stop all of the forty weapons.
(32:20):
But like the Dolphins, like there's I don't want to
say that they're they're on like house money because it's
not what I mean by it. But I think that
this transformation has happened a little quicker than we thought
like that, and that two has taken more of a
leap than just the steps to grow, and so to
(32:42):
be at this spot, I I think it's a little
bit of gravy for the Dolphins, I'll just put it
that way. Like they have Tyree kill Um, you know,
be as great as he is immediately coming over. I
sure you hoped that if you were a Dolphins fan,
But I think that they're they're playing a little bit
(33:02):
with house money, with how well this season has gone
so far. Oh, I don't. I don't think that you
can see. I totally disagree. I don't think they're playing
with how some money at all. I think that this
is actually a a like that this is how the
season had to go, or you were in a disaster
(33:24):
of a situation that if that like that, if too,
it does not play well. Okay, so you already know
that Jalen Waddle is good. You know that you're good
at the tight end spot with Getski even though you're
not using them. But like and then hell so, so
you already know that that that your weaponry is in good,
(33:45):
good shape, right yeah, So now the question is, so,
so if you know that already? Oh lord, go go
go ahead and tell the people what what have happened?
The Cincinnati Bengals had a fourth and one, and uh.
Instead of kicking a field goal as they were inside
(34:07):
the five yard line, they tried to run a little
uh what motions sweep and uh, Kansas City just absolutely
ate it up and it was Carlos Dunlap who ended
up making the play, So the Bengals unable to cash in,
still up four on the Chiefs, but instead of kicking
the field goal and going up seven, they went forward
on fourth down and did not get it. Ye that
(34:29):
was a disaster. But um, but the thing I was
gonna say is is that if you're the Dolphins this season,
if Ta does not play well, now you have a
massive problem, a massive problem, because you're still gonna win
like five games because you're very talented. You added pieces
(34:50):
on the defense, added pieces on the offense, so like
like you would be in a situation with the rate
that that the Raiders are in this year, exce up
for you don't have a quarterback, like a competit quarterback.
So now the Dolphins would be like, oh my god,
we we have a problem because you traded away first
round pick picks and a lot of picks to get
(35:12):
Tyreek Hill. So how would you then get a quarterback
if if he was bad, it's a disaster. You have
a where the hell are you gonna go find a
quarterback at day? Well, it's a good thing that they
don't have that problem. Yeah, That's what I'm saying is
that this season had to go like this. That's what
I'm saying that they're not playing with with with house
(35:34):
money because they didn't get like a bonus. They got
exactly what they needed to get. But if they but
I think being eight and three and being six and
five is a thousand miles difference right now. And like
if they were six and five right now, I think
you'd be like, okay, Dolphins back in it to his
(35:56):
taking his steps in that scenario, like to be eight
and three and be in the conversation to not only
win the division, but maybe just maybe you know, have
the best record in the conference. You know. I think
that's that's what is what is outside of the expectations.
So so eight, like I think they would have been
(36:19):
on pace for six and five. That's my belief. I
would have been like, Okay, that's that shows good progress
to be But to be eight and three, I don't
think anybody saw that coming. We'll continue it on the
other side. Plus, I want to get your thoughts on
the college football playoff bracket where we will talk college football.
He is George Rice Stir, I'm Dan Buyer. They his
Fox Sports Red Zone Radio. Niners did go to the
half up seven on the Dolphins. We told you the
(36:40):
chief stop the Bengals. Cincinnati still up four, Seahawks and
Rams just getting underway in the second half, and as
Monty told us, Raiders tied it up with the Chargers
at ten a piece. Get George on Twitter at George

Fox will continue the Dolphins conversation on the other side
next year. On Fox Sports Radio is Fox Red Zone Radio,

So here's Purdy out of the gun looking for McCaffrey.
I have a good touchdown. Send friend, just go like
the fuse CNC hads detonated. Now back live to the

studios of Fox Sports Radio. This is Fox Red Zone Radio.
He's the NFL at George Rice stir. I'm Dan Buyer.
(37:47):
It is Fox Sports Red Zone Radio and that highlight
their courtesy of k n BR and Fort Radio Network.
I don't know who the Dolphins were covering. Um, you
want to find where Christian McCaffrey is at all times,
especially when Brock Purdy is your quarterback. UM, that was
option one and Brock party did not have to move
off of Christian McCaffrey as he gets the touchdown at
(38:08):
the end of the half. Welcome to the Fox Sports

(38:29):
look up in the break the preseason win total for
the Miami Dolphins, and the over under on winds was
eight and a half. So one more this was as
of April one that these odds were set, but one
more win they would top that mark. So so that's
(38:50):
that's what I mean by where I think that there
not only are the is it a little bit of
house money? George on the schedule game against the Niners today,
not knowing obviously that Jimmy Garoppolo was out, Um, we're
gonna be knocked out. But if you had to do
a win loss on April one or at the beginning
of the season, this is probably a game he probably
(39:11):
mark is a loss for the Dolphins. Tough game to
win on the road across the country against the good
Niners team. You know. So, but just but but forts
under the third string quarterback. Yeah, you're right, different story, yep, yep.
Who who do you think when when it's all saidding done,
who do you think is gonna have a better coaching
(39:34):
resume and career? Kyle Shanahan or Mike McDaniel. Oh, I'm
gonna go with Kyle Kyle Shanahan because Kyle Shanahan has
shown that he can do it under adverse circum circumstances. Mike, Mike,
Mike McDaniels got got coaching born on third base, like
(39:54):
like he wasn't like he didn't inherit a team like
Dan Campbell, did you? I mean no? He he inherited
a team with a with a top five quarterback, a um,
you know, and probably four teen four players on their
roster that people would currently trade more than one first
(40:20):
round pick four at least one. And you know they
don't like pardon with first round picks for anything but
four players on their team that they would currently trade
first round picks four. Most teams don't even have one,
let alone four. I'll take Mike McDaniel in the end,
George Kenneth Walker, the Seahawks not gonna play the rest
(40:43):
of today, they still are up on the ramps by one.
Lamar Jackson out for how long? What's I an next? Oh,
the Kansas City Chiefs are on the move. Welcome in

is in Cincinnati territory, first and ten at the Bengals
teen yard line as they are underway in the second half.
Just a couple of minutes gone by Bengals up four
in that contest. Monsey just told you that the Niners
continue to hold on to that seventeen to ten lead
on the Dolphins, But the Dolphins have just gotten into
(41:25):
forty Niners territory. Seahawks entered a field goal. They're up
by four on the Rams, and as Monsey mentioned, Chargers
and Raiders at the half of the Bolts having that
three point lead. College football playoff bracket was revealed earlier today. Uh,
usually this is an all NFL show, but George did
the committee get it right with Georgia against Ohio State
(41:46):
and you're so happy. Well, how happy is Dan Buyer?
Oh man? He came back from the he was watching
Utah and being like, well, actually, I how much of
the USC Utah game did you watch? So I'll give
(42:09):
you a quick story about from the second quarter on
oh see see if so? But but did you know
what the what the score was when it was seventeen
to three or no? Did you just so happen to
turn it on and you were like, oh, wow, this
isn't going well. So traffic was was bad, uh, coming
(42:29):
home on from work and so it took a while
to get home and to get everything squared away and
to get set. What I saw on Twitter was the
Caleb Williams run and then you're like, oh, okay, well
this is you know, this one's over with, this is
it's not gonna happen. And so then, um, but I
(42:51):
did tune in and then watched, uh, the youths make
their way back, fight their way back. I never thought
that the game was over. Never big because number one,
I saw the game in Salt Lake City and number
two you talk literally on the first three series left
people like like they just like they're such a disciplined
(43:13):
football team and they dropped people like they just like
they busted coverage on three straight series, gave up huge plays,
and then all of a sudden they were like no my,
no mys and usc people like I get that Caleb
Williams had a little bit of an alchie right, like
that he was not a but number one, you gave
(43:36):
up forty seven points. First and foremost. Second thing is
Caleb Williams through for three hundred and sixty three yards
and three touchdowns, like like he wasn't dead, Like he
didn't need to be airlifted off, like like fans act like.
I think it's interesting now that the expanded playoff is
(43:56):
gonna come sooner rather than later next year with the
last year, Like what like what a team like Utah
would do in that bracket, you know, like they could
destroy they they could either and they could either destroy
it and win, you know, to two games, or they
could get knocked out in the first. And that's the
thing then that I honestly love about the expanded playoffs.
(44:19):
I wish you were sixteen instead of twelve, or or
eight instead of twelve, because I don't like buys. But
but the bias could actually pay like real dividends. Because
now that you like, when when you look at the
log jam from twelve all the way up to h four,
I'm sorry, I'm sorry, twelve to five, that's Tennessee. Who's
(44:43):
Who's who lost the South Carolina? Oh so, so they
are mortal. Alabama is clearly mortal. You have um who else?
USC is mortal, Clemson is mortal, Kansas State, Penn State, Washington,
all of those teams can be beat. That's the that
(45:03):
is the that's the beauty of it. And then after
you have um time time off, like a week off
while the other people play. It's it's almost like the
n C Double A tournament, Dan, when when the playing
teams come back and win immediately because everybody else was off,
and then they have some sort of momentum. I think
(45:26):
that that's gonna help the semi final games be even
more competitive. I am one and Dan, I wish you
would start this year. Yeah, unfortunately it does not. Next
year it won't be there, but the year after it will.
What is also intriguing is the times set up. George,
Ohio State obviously has that cash a, but the games
on New Year's Eve. That's actually gonna be the late game,
(45:47):
kicking off at eight o'clock Eastern time in Atlanta on
New Year's Eve. Michigan and tu and the Fiesta Bowl
will actually be the early game. So it's interesting. And
we know how TV ratings go on New Year's Eve.
Curious to see how that all plays out. The Chiefs
did get into the end zone. Isaiah Pacheco nine yard
touchdown run extra point is good. So Kansas City, after
(46:09):
trailing fourteen, he happened they should do seventeen. Cincinnati led
fourteen to three about an hour ago. Now it's seventeen
to fourteen, Chiefs ahead of the Bengals. Early in the
third quarter, Seahawks ended up kicking a field goals, so
they are up four on the Rams. You know, Deshaun
(46:29):
Watson made his return today for the Cleveland Browns en
win against the the Texans. George, And in watching this
game and watching you know a lot of how it
played out, watching Deshaun Watson, you know what struck me
about all this. It wasn't the booze, wasn't you know what.
(46:52):
It wasn't the reception that he got. It was how
the how Watson appears to be the same quarterback that
he was two years ago. And that's what you got
from it. So so this is this is what I'm saying.
I know that there was rust. He was eleven of
(47:13):
twenty two hundred and thirty one yards a bad interception.
Uh threw it into the end zone picked off by
the Texans. This is the worst team in the league
that the Browns were playing. And and it's probably not
close like they are not good, They're not good at all.
(47:33):
And there's motivation and and you know, Deshaun Watson has
been with the team, he's been practicing, and I understand
the rust factor after two years, but I just expected
a little bit more. I I expected Deshaun Watson to
do better than twelve of twenty two and for throwing
a bad interception, you're talking about plan play with with
(47:57):
with house money. He got to play his first game
against by far the worst team in the league with
with a bad quarterback on their second string quarterback who
ain't better than the first one. And yeah, so so
he got done a solid Dan, How could you expect
after nearly I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean,
(48:18):
and we're talking about a couple of weeks away from
two full years without playing a football game, like there
was no way that you could be that he could
be expected to do anything more than what he did right,
there no way, And if if he had played better,
I would have been like I would have been astounded
(48:42):
had he played better than than he did to today.
But I will say if he does not start to
get better, because because there is an element of in football,
like you you use it or lose it, Yes, but
I would not if he doesn't have some sort of
(49:04):
significant uptick in the next month, then then I would
be concerned about this contract if I were the Browns,
because this contract could go I mean just very far
left right. Yes, yeah, it could go very far left
(49:26):
considering the length the amount for a guy who hasn't
played in two years. So listen, the um Uh, the
Oh God, the Haslam family, they better be saying their
their prayers. They better be calling on sweet Baby Jesus
or or or who are calling the rabbi or calling
(49:48):
the shaman or whoever they talked to UH to try
to to try to help the mon stars give the
man his talent back, because this ain't go cut it
Raiders just took a vat of an Austin Ekeler fumble
Derek Card Davante Adams thirty one yards extra point is good.
Raiders up four on the Chargers just thirty two seconds
into the second half. This is this is the point
(50:10):
about it and you and you're right, Like the Bronston
scored offensive touchdown today, they scored two defensive touchdowns and
they scored on a punt return like those were their
three touchdowns, a couple of field goals. There's there's the
point of of a quarterback developing. And Deshaun Watson was
(50:32):
was a great player with the Houston Texans. The team
wasn't necessarily great around him. What doesn't mean that he
wasn't He wasn't flawed at times, And there there were
a couple of throws today that I have no problem
George and saying, alright, it's rust, But a lot of
what I saw was the same quarterback that I saw
in Houston, and that quarterback I don't know, I don't know,
(50:57):
like how long I don't understand what you meant by that,
because because at first I thought you were saying positively,
but now it sounds like negatively. Yes, absolutely, it is
a negative because hold on, hold on, hold on, Dad.
So so you're meaning to tell me that there was
something negative about the guy who in in five hundred
(51:20):
and in his last season five hundred and forty four attempts,
completed seventy percent of his passes, fort hundred yards, thirty
three touchdowns, and seven picks, along with a bunch of
Russian yards as well. There, what are you talking about?
I saw the same quarterback. If that was that wasn't
(51:40):
that guy. The guy we saw the game was not
that guy, you know. And I know he's loose with
the football, you know, and how he how he runs.
I thought we were gonna see a more a more
controlled Deshaun Watson, and I feel like we got the
same backyard stuff at times with the show. That's how
(52:03):
he supposed Dude. That's like expecting Patrick my Homes to
not be Patrick Mahomes or expecting Brett Farve to not
be Brett far Patrick Mahomes doesn't go twelve of twenty
two with one interception against the worst team in the league.
He might if he was off for two years. I mean,
(52:24):
that's what I'm That's what I'm saying, is that is
that I don't feel like it's fair to judge him yet.
I think that over the next month, if we don't
see a significant improvement, then that is going to that
then that's a problem. And Tyler, boyd uh, he's got
vasiline on his mitts bro dropped and what would have
(52:48):
been a short, touched pass from he could dude, he
could have I mean, the the only way that pass
could have been any better would have been if Joe
Barrow had handed it to him. That was Tyler. Oh boy,
it hit him right, I mean it hit him like
in the throat on like a and it had air.
This was not like a bullet pass. He was running
(53:11):
a wheel route on on on one of those pick
plays from the from the slot, and the dB got
caught up on Jamaar Chase. So he's wide open and
Joe Joe Barrow just looked at the sideline like what
what completely dropped that. Evan McPherson the silver lining didn't
make the field goal, um, but yeah, it could have
(53:32):
been could have been a much more for Cincinnati. So
it's tied up at seventeen. Bobby Wagner's just appeared to
intercept his former teammate and Gino Smith a pass out
in the flat to Tony Jones, who was the Seahawks
third running back with DJ Dallas and Kenneth Walker out
for the game. D J Dallas did return, but it
was a pass out to the flat that Jones didn't
(53:54):
necessarily corral and it ended up in Bobby Wagner's lap
as both players were going to the ground. So the
question is now who's going to end up with possession?
But it does appear that Bobby Wagner may have picked
that off. The point with Deshaun Watson is, you know,
we we you want to reserve judgment, but he's also
the one that's at blame for some of for for this.
(54:19):
And and by what I mean is the absence, like
his absence and he wasn't gonna play for the Texans again.
They don't wanted to play, you know, it wasn't put
on the commissioners list, and so he just sat out
last year and now he has to deal with the suspension.
I don't think that you know, like that's you know,
your actions lead to this. So I'm not willing to
give Deshaun Watson any break whatsoever on his play because
(54:43):
all of this is Deshaun Watson. Uh, you know he
instigated all of this and in his absences and so,
and that's not a sympathetic character. No, no, no, no, no no,
in no way is he a sympathetic character. I'm I'm
saying that I don't pass judgment on his play yet.
(55:05):
If that that this needs to be a the heck
do you call it? A um A progress not perfection
kind of kind of deal. And Deebo Samuel just had
the one of the one of the best five yard
lost plays I've ever seen, one of the best five
(55:26):
yard lost runs. It still ended up as a five
yard loss. Is the Niners are facing a third and fourteen.
He had four people trying to tackle him and in
some kind of way he wiggled out of there. He's
George Rice Stir I'm dan buy her. Football fans, be
sure to tune into Fox Sports Radio's Countdown to Kickoff,
presented by Ben MGM, on Sunday morning, three hours before kickoff.
(55:47):
That's right. Tune in on Sunday morning at ten o'clock
Eastern Time as we take you live all the way
to kick Off on Fox Sports Radio and the I
Heart Radio app, presented by Bet MGM still at a
four point lead on the Rams late in the third quarter.
Raiders up seventeen to thirteen on the Chargers. Early in
the second half, Chiefs and Bengals tied up at seventeen.
And in that Niners game, and Niners, excuse me, the
(56:10):
Dolphins get a stop, so the Niners are gonna attempt
the field goal. Up seventeen to ten on Miami, three
minutes to go in the third quarter. Get George on
Twitter at George Riceter. You can find me on Twitter
at Dan Buyer. On Fox there was one game today
that I completely miss read and the team that won
should be very, very grateful. We'll tell you about it
next year on Fox Sports Red Zone Radio. This is
(56:37):
Fox rad Zone Radio. And we got the plays that
you may have missed. So start back to pass walking left,
woffing left to the end zone. Adams glabs it fun
out touchdowns. He was on his backside and the ball
landed in his lap. One play, one touchdown. Now back
(57:04):
live to the studios of Fox Sports Radio. This is
Fox Red Zone Radio. He's George Rice or the NFL VET.
(57:24):
I'm Dan Buyer. A lot going on. The Niners have
turned the Dolphins over again. So San Francisco with that
ten point lead, up twenty to ten, now looking to
add a Robbie goldfield goal from thirty six yards out.
It is good. So it's twenty three to ten. The
Chiefs have just gotten into the end zone on a
fourth down run from Patrick Mahomes. Extra point upcoming. It's
(57:47):
the Raiders getting the in the end zone. You heard
the Davante Adams touchdown there. Um he just added another one,
this one from forty five yards out. Daniel Carlson's extra
point is good. It's Raiders on top of the Chargers
and that Raiders highlight courtesy of Raider Nation Radio a
(58:08):
m and the Seahawks in rams At a tight one
rams in the red zone. Seahawks up for in that contest.
Get George on Twitter at George Rice Stir. You can

you can find our next guest on Twitter at Kaplan NFL.
These our Fox Sports Radio NFL insider that you can
also hear on the Inside the Birds podcast. Adam Kaplan
joins us in week thirteen. Hello and them, how are
(58:29):
you good man? Yeah, I'll tell you what it's been
interesting in the week thirteen. Yeah, it's been kind of
all over the place though, big play, strange plays, good
quarterback play. Uh, some got some teams coming back to
try to win and can't get it done, like the
Jets today. That that that's obviously one of the most
interesting games of oh the week. And this really sets
up and then this is quite funny what the NFL wants.
(58:51):
There's so many teams still in it in both conferences
for those last couple of wild card spots. What do
you what did you uh make of Deshaun Watson's performance today? Good?
I mean the guy didn't pay lst year. I mean,
people forget he was phenomenal. The team was terrible in
the Texans, but he was great and and uh he
was great in He just was the word that Adam
(59:11):
he was great in two years. He was he was phenomenal. Right, yeah,
but he was terrible Rusty. Yes, we just talked about
and I just said the same thing to Dan and
he was like, yeah, it looked like the same old
Watson from two years. I was like, what the hell
are you talking about? Really good two years? Yeah? Here
the problem their defense was like not competitive. I rarely
(59:32):
use that it was one of the worst defenses I've
seen since I've covered league, the Texas defense, and Watson
did all that he could with a lot of town
around him. Look, he was severely rusty. Day doesn't really
work with these guys very much. Camp and a little
bit fault it is, Yeah, no doubt, Look it is
what it is. But somehow that was one of the
(59:53):
strangest games you'll see. They did nothing on offense, and
yet they still wanted. As I said, you're here, guys,
there are only two games out of the last wild
card spot. Just I just I, and I want to
make my point because I think what what Georgia saying
is is not what I meant by it's the same
old Deshaun Watson. He plays the game the same way.
(01:00:14):
You can do that. That's what I mean is you
could do that when you're four and twelve in your
defense stinks and run around all willy nilly and keeping
the ball loose and doing that. There are some one
hoppers two receivers today like I would just expect. You know,
I don't know. Maybe I cleaned up Deshaun Watson a
little bit from what we had, But look again, it's
(01:00:36):
it's oney situations that you know you'd rather been playing
earlier in the season, but due to the eleven game suspension.
So crazy that he's playing. It's the Texas in his
first game, but they've got a challenging schedule coming up.
He's got to play better. Their defense, which has been
much belied this season. They faced the NFL's worst team,
the NFL's worst offense, and show today, Um, what is
(01:00:56):
the latest on Lamar Jackson? First thing? The second thing
is are we bordering on the worst offensive all time
with the diver Broncos, which is they're bad, Well not
all time, but they're they're bad. I mean that. The
sad thing of it is their defense is so competitive.
If Russell Wilson was just average, they're probably an eight
(01:01:18):
or nine win team at worst. He's so bad. It's
just it's almost hard to believe. I've been trying to
think about this. I remember when Kurt Warner, guys you
might remember with the Giants, he was awful. You know,
I'm Manning was drafted to take his job anyway, but
they they benched him with I think a winning record
if we're not mistaken, But he he looked like he
was done. And then obviously he left, went to the
(01:01:39):
Cardinals and revived his career and put the team on
his back and they got the Super Bowl. But this
is one of the worst drops I've seen in terms
of a drop off of a quarterback that I can remember,
like the last twenty years. Going to Dan, you know
as a Seahawk fan two years ago, first half best
football has ever played. Second half talking to Seattle, teams
are starting to play a lot of deep coverage. Uh,
pet took over in terms of micro manage the offense.
(01:02:02):
Wanted to run the football more. That was a mistake
by Pete last year. He was hurt. This is the
worst football of his career, and there seemingly isn't any
way out for him. He's so bad. You can't bench
him because it was contract. There's really nothing they can do.
Adam Caplan joining us here on Fox Sports Radio. Get
him on Twitter at Kaplan NFL. The Eagles today, I
(01:02:22):
thought maybe they were going through a little midseason crisis.
You know what happens when you have that great success.
Um none of it today. And I thought the Titans
were gonna put more of an effort after losing to
the Bengals like that is this is this an Eagles
team that just gets back to business after I don't
want to call it a questionable showing against Green Bay,
but it was a pretty tight game on on Sunday night.
(01:02:43):
What did you take of the Eagles win today over Tennessee? Yeah,
I think Dan, what happened to them is, you know,
they're without their slack corner, Avanti Max, who's on I
are he just served his fourth game, so he's eligible
to come back next week. There without Dallas got Art
there Titan who's on into reserve. He's gotta serve next
week's game and then he's eligible to come back from
UH for the week fifteen game. It sounds like he's
going to be available for that bar a setback. So
(01:03:05):
those two injuries been impactful. The backup slock corner for
the Eagles Trusie Scott. Every team picks on him UH
and then they have their much bliged the worst second
worst kickoff coverage in the National Football Like they're terrible
at up. They were good today. The pot returns are
usually not great. They've been good the last couple of weeks.
But what they did today is whether it was cool,
low six, low forties, but there was no wind to
(01:03:28):
speak of. Eagle said, forget about trying to run the football.
We're gonna thrown and we're gonna be relentless. And they
went after the Titan secondary and they would not stop.
It was shot play after shot play after shot play.
I was talking to front of mine and I said,
I'm not joking about this. Had the game been closed,
Hurts absolutely with thrown for over five hundred yards. He
he They pulled him with ten minutes left in three eight.
Think about that. Yeah, that's when you get scorched. Um. Now,
(01:03:54):
the Washington Commanders and the Giants they tied today, which
I could not eight ties anymore. But what is the
future for the quarterback position at the guys that are
there right now? For Daniel Jones and Heineke as far
as with that franchise, same as last year for Heineck.
He he's they know what he is. He's not. He's
(01:04:15):
a scrappy guy. Players and coaches love him. He's very limited.
He's got to make five or six good throws a game.
They're not gonna let him fill the ball much and
just don't turn it over. Win with defense. This is
what ron Vera wants, but he's so limited that there's
only so much you can do it. George, you know,
as a former player, you don't want you really don't
want to limit your quarterback now. Today because they had
to come from behind, the game was an overtime. Heineke
(01:04:37):
had to put the ball over thirty times, infected with
forty one attempts, didn't turn it over. Actually played a
good game. I'll give him credit. Did a good job.
The running ball better. Brian Robinson's just back to back,
really good, two good games. Their defense is good. They're
keep him in there and Daniel Jones. Uh. This is
a situation where this is the front office. They're inherited
this quarterback they didn't pick up with fifth year option,
and they'll make the decision. It's that one could go
(01:04:58):
either way. The ownership of love to have them back,
but they're not going to interfere with UH. With UH
this decision with with Joe Shane, their GM and the
head coach, Brian Dable channel make the call. He'll recommend
it to The ownership has final say, but they typically
don't interfere UH. They'll they'll let Shane make this decision
on the commander side of things. Adam Kaplan joining us
(01:05:20):
year at Fox Sports Red Zone Radio. He's George Royce Ster,
I'm Dan Buyer. They've got weapons, like like you know,
I mean the Jahan Dotson played today. Um, you know,
there are very few guys in the NFL can make
those moves the way that he moved. In addition to
Curtis Samuel who seems to be breaking out, you mentioned
Brian Robinson and obviously Terry McLaurin. Like yeah, I mean,
(01:05:41):
like if they got an upgrade at quarterback Washington, Like,
how how good is that team? If really good? Dan?
Great front? Now they have some contract decisions to make
because you know, they can't keep every five for former
first round picks in their front seven, can't keep everybody.
Chase Young, by the way, still not playing a minute
that there were reports he's gonna play three weeks ago
(01:06:02):
and obviously that this were not correct. He hasn't played yet. Um,
so yeah, they're absolutely a quarterback way Listen, people on
the league know where who Heineke is. You're you're never
gonna win a super Bowl with him. He's scrappy, He's
he's what you want there's a saying in coaching, you
want somebody to get you out of a bad spot
to three four games at max. The longer these backup
(01:06:23):
quarterbacks play, the more words that this show. And that's
just the way it is. It's it's very rare for
a backup quarterback to take the job. Now, Jalen Hurts, Okay,
Jalen Hurts was drafted be Carson Wentz is back up.
It's one of the strangest stories I could I could
remember the I I asked someone very high up in
the Eagles and said, hey, why would you drafted back
(01:06:44):
up in the second round? Making The guy yelled at me,
he goes, you know what you're talking about. He's here
because Carson's injury history. Carson's our guy. And then a
year and half later he's not there. Guy. It's just strange,
but it's it's very rare. You don't see backups ever
become the guy for a long term. You're rarely. Yeah,
and um, the Lions are obviously going to have a
(01:07:05):
a pretty high draft pick. But then this is what
you get out of Jared Jared Goff. You get big,
big games, then poor games and like, so what the
heck are we supposed to make of Like are the
Lions now with a top ten pick this year, are
they going to draft a quarterback or are they gonna
go like weapons? Where do you go? Well, they don't
(01:07:27):
need receivers. They have so many of them, James who
wanted to play his first game today, they're good at
running back, Or that they're gonna keep Joandre Stift healthy.
That they have a good offensive line here. They've really
built that one. That's the one thing that the former
GM did, uh Bob Quinn as he addressed his offensive line,
and so did the new GM Brad Holmes, who by
the way, was the college director when Jared Goffer was
drafted with the Rams. See that they have to make
(01:07:49):
a decision on his contract by mid March. She's got
h some some money that becomes fully guaranteed. I would
think they'd keep him. Uh, he's done. He actually played
fairly consistent. The problem is red like actually all four
their top recevers of misstime this season, they're all back now.
And and that's and Alma ross st Brown is so good.
What a player he is. They're they're in good shape here.
(01:08:10):
They need the problem that they have is They know this.
They have lack of playmakers on defense. They just don't
have enough talent. But give Dan Campbell credit before there
by he made it clear they cannot play like this.
Aaron Glenn was struggling. They're blitzing like crazy. He made
a decision. They're not gonna do it anymore. They're gonna
play more coverage based defense. And that's actually been the
reason why they've turned around and they've won, uh four
(01:08:31):
out of five and they're five and seven, folks. I'm
not saying they're gonna make the playoffs, but you know what,
the way that they're playing with the offense, the talent
they have an offense. Jamison Williams is back now. They
too that they are only now uh two games out
of the last walk card spot in the NFC, and
they got that RAMS pick that is pretty high. I
do want to I just want to leave you with this.
(01:08:52):
Did the the Vikings win the game today or did
the Jets lose the game? Well, let's put it this way,
that the Jets were behind a lot too many field goals.
I give my Mike White credit. Boy, he hung in there.
He has just enough arm. You know, every once in
a while ago. I don't know. If this aren't this
past is gonna make it it somehow it gets there.
The players love him. I don't know if you sold
(01:09:13):
those T shirts they're wearing. He's got a ton of swag.
Players love that. George could detested that. They love you
guys who back it up. He's again the long term
future for him is to be their backup. That's kind
of where they're at with him. They're not making any
proclamations after you know, a couple of games here. You
gotta let this season play out. But I'll tell you this,
though he continues to play like this, Zach Waltz is
(01:09:35):
not gonna be the starter late in the season. Like
Robert Salis said that, I don't think you can make
a case to pull wait out there if he continues
to play like this. Absolutely not. Adam Kaplan, we appreciate
the time. We are starting to hit the home stretch.
Can't wait for it. We'll talk to you next week.
He's George Rice Stir. I'm Dan Buyer. Get a him
on Twitter at Kaplan NFL and check him out on
the Inside the Birds podcast. Let's jump over to the
(01:09:55):
news desk Mancy Belano is giving us the latest live
from the entirerect dot com studios and what's happening in
this lake. Yeah, Miami is trying to close the gap
against San Francisco to a TOKAVLOA found Tyree Kill for
a touchdown and the extra point was good. So the
fort Niners are still up, but the score is now
to seventeen. Early in the fourth quarter, the Seahawks are
(01:10:16):
very close to scoring again. They have a one point
lead on the Rams. We're halfway through the fourth quarter
on now when seventeen sixteen is to score. Gino Smith
has completed twenty two nine passes for three hundred and
three yards and two touchdowns. Stop at Gino, I'm playing
against you, Okay. The Chiefs and the Bengals, they just
ended the third quarter and the Chiefs are up on
the Bengals seventeen. Bengals do have the ball and they're
(01:10:37):
in the red zone, so they'll start the fourth quarter
with the ball in their hands, ready to score. And
the Raiders they're beating the Chargers, and Chargers are so annoying.
But the Raiders are up twenty four thirteen less than
five minutes ago. In the third quarter. Today in the
World Cup, two more teams have advanced to the quarterfinals.
England eliminated Senegal, beating them three zero, and then France
(01:10:58):
outscored Pool in three to one. Frances Killian and bopp
It He scored two goals, making him the first player
to score nine World Cup goals before his twenty four birthday.
He actually broke Payley's record of seven before turning twenty four.
So England and France onto the quarterfinals in the World Cup.
Back to you, guys, thank you very much. Question See,
(01:11:22):
I'm just curious how listen when they lost. Every time
they lose, I think of you, and I think of
from Sylam just oh. And then when the Lakers win
against the good team, I think of you. The other
night you were like, I can't believe it. And then
the Clippers lost to Sacramento. I think it was yesterday
by like a lot. Oh man, I swear every time
(01:11:45):
that happens, I have you on one shoulder and I
from on the other one. Joe starting to teach you. Now,
I keep, I keep forgetting to like, but I'm not done.
You're forgetting No, please keep, I will not now. But
the question is now last last week we talked, so
(01:12:06):
are you, and I said that I set the over
under for games for kah Yeah, yeah, yeah yeah, And
I think it's still under under because he we haven't
even seen. I don't even I don't know where he's at.
Is he still around, Is he even on the team.
I'm not sure. But it sucks. Let me tell you
(01:12:27):
that it's awkward. I'm staying out of this. I'm staying
out of this. He oh, Dan, because you are. You
are living in Moncy. He is living a a charmed
sports life right right now. His Bucks, he's still living
on the high from a championship a couple of years ago.
(01:12:50):
The Bucks are still fantastic. Janice is healthy. Chris Middleton
just game game back his his Ohio State Buckeyes get
backed into the playoffs the Seattle they don't stink, and
they got yes, and they got a bunch of drafts.
He's playing with house money right here. It wasn't always
(01:13:11):
like this. You should have seen in the nineties. Oh
my goodness. So you're saying there's hope for me as
the Clippers and Chargers Clippers Clippers fan. No, No, there's
no hope. It's been fifty years of terribleness. You know,
it's it's a psychomancy. I just don't know where the
high point for the Clippers is. Hopefully, at some point
(01:13:33):
it will come back around. All right, we appreciate it
back around. It's never been around. Like, they've never been
to in the NBA finals, so it's never been there.
Conference semifinals maybe a game. They've only been yes, of
of the semifinals, they only made the conference finals once
(01:13:55):
ever in history. By the way, the Western Conference right now, um,
I mean, my goodness, I mean the Lakers. The Lakers
are within six games the first like the the best,
like talking about a log jam. Uh, that's maybe the
regular season will actually be interesting in the NBA for once. Yes,
(01:14:15):
I was dan, I was talking to the the other
day that from in the Eastern Conference from one to
number eleven, I'm sorry, from one in number ten, it
is seven games. Right in the Western Conference from one
to number ten, it's four and a half. Like if
you lose one game, you can you can falls from
(01:14:36):
from like from third to like ninth. Just on oh man, no,
it actually it should be interesting. I mean that's a
it's a phrase that's used a lot but when you
have it that tight and matchups and heck, what what
what quarter through this more than a quarter through the season,
(01:14:58):
and there's you know, very little separation that we've gotten. Yeah, yeah,
it should be interesting for sure. All Right, thanks Monsy.
He's George Riceter. I'm Dan Buyer. Get Monty on Twitter
at Moncy Belanios. Niners up six in Dolphins territory. Clock
is ticking. The Seahawks did add a field goal, so
the Rams out of the football under seven minutes to
(01:15:19):
go down four. As they near midfield in l A,
the Raiders are knocking on the door. Monsey was right
when she said the Chargers are annoying, and I'm gonna
tell you why. I agree with you coming up on
the other side, but its Raiders looking to add to
their lead. Bengals had to settle for a field goal
down for to the Chiefs early in the fourth quarter.
Get George on Twitter at George Rice Stir. Find me
(01:15:40):
on Twitter at Dan Buire On Fox and yeah, I'll
tell you why the Chargers are annoying and what makes
them different from the team like the Philadelphia Eagles. We'll
talk about it next year on Fox Sports Radio. Fox
Sports Red Zone Radio. He's George rice Stir. I'm Dan Buyer.
Here's what's going on in this late window. Seahawks were
up on the Rams until Cam eight scored for the
(01:16:00):
second time today. Six yard touchdown run to fifty six
left Rams up on the Seahawks to twenty. The Dolphins
thought they had a first down on a third and short,
but instead past that was ruled incomplete. The Dolphins just
went on a fourth and one from their own but
(01:16:21):
eighteen yard line, down six with ten minutes to go,
and converted to a hitting Tyreek Hill to It probably
could have ran grown to anybody. But that's a six
point game, and the Bengals have forced a turnover, stripping
Travis Kelsey of the football. So Cincinnati down four with
eleven thirty six has the football in Kansas City territory.
(01:16:44):
But it's a third and seven from the Chiefs twenty
six yard line. As for the Raiders and Chargers, the
reason why the Chargers are annoying, uh monsy as her reasons.
I have mine Raiders up thirteen. I thought that this
is the game. You know, if you're you're the Chargers,
you're six and five five, you have a shot at
the playoffs. Maybe on the outside looking in, but still
(01:17:05):
there's there's a very good pathway for the Chargers to
make the postseason. You go to the place where your
season ended last year, and you put up thirteen points
against a Raiders squad, you turn the ball over, you
get stopped on a fourth down, you're unable to convert
on a kick like all these little things, and all
(01:17:27):
the Raiders do is just throwing to Davante Adams and
want him do his work. Like I just expected more
George from the Chargers today, And I guess that's a
shame disappointing you today, buddy. Yes, yes, the Eagles didn't though,
because the Eagles are like, you know what, a J. Brown,
we're playing your former team. We're gonna we're gonna rally
around you, as and Capitol said, Jail and Hurts could
(01:17:48):
have thrown for five yards, they could, you know, a J.
Brown had his day. They rallied and destroyed the Titans.
So I give the Eagles credit on that one. But
Chargers just expected a little bit more from them. Oh yeah, Now,
I have been uh expecting a lot more from the
Chargers all damn year. I mean, I know that they've
(01:18:12):
battled a lot of injuries. But look, I don't want
to hear nothing about all that. If and I think
that if they missed the playoffs, you gotta get a
new coach. You gotta get a new coach. Yes, yeah,
I think you're right because because as when when you
look at the amount of times that Herbert is throwing
(01:18:32):
the ball and all of this stuff, completion percentage high,
all that stuff, the amount of yards, like, you're just like,
how do they not have like how aren't they having
a hundred yard? Guys, thousand yard? It's just and their
offense is so much predicated on the ball going to
Austin Ekeler. I don't love it. I do not love him, no, no, no,
And I don't mean handing him the ball. I mean literally, uh,
(01:18:55):
throwing him the ball from the backfield. And I will
say this, I'm not sure on how many coaching changes
we're gonna have. I don't think we're gonna have eight.
You know, I think we're gonna have you know, obviously
the Colts and Broncos, and I think the Broncos well, uh,
Panthers will have to find one as well. But you know,
there's not gonna be like eight jobs out there, and
(01:19:16):
the jobs available Chargers would be the most appealing. The Chargers,
They're gonna be at least six jobs. You think, I
don't know. I'm not sure I could do that. That
happens every single year, Dan, So like you, you can
count on it, like clockwork. There may be some some
job that I don't expect to open that may come open.
(01:19:39):
He's George rice Ster. I'm Dan Buyer. This is Fox
Sports Red Zone Radio. I know we're running down against
the clock. I thought I heard something in my ear.
I just want to make sure that we are we
are good to go. Uh all right, there we go.
Get George on Twitter at George kind of resting right now. Dan,
something was heard and and I didn't catch it earlier.
(01:20:01):
So I just wanted to make sure. See Seahawks at
the football down three to twenty near midfield, Bengals facing
a third down against the Chiefs, down four with ten
minutes to go, and the Dolphins are in Niners territory
down six with six minutes to go, and that one
of the Chargers trying to come back. We'll wrap up
this week thirteen in the next hour here on Fox
(01:20:23):
Sports Radio. It's a thin line between fantasy and reality,
and the Seahawks are sitting on that line. I'll explain
as we are broadcasting live from the ti irac dot
com studios. Tirect dot com will help you get there
and unmatched selection, fast free shipping, free road hazard protection
and over ten thousand recommended installers. Ti irac dot com
(01:20:44):
the way tire buying should be. And the reason I
say at George that fine line is because a lost
by the Seahawks to the Rams today would be ever
so damaging to this fantasy season that could see them
in the playoffs. Like this is this is a team
that's writing a two games losing streak. You're facing a
(01:21:05):
Rams team that is seriously depleted. But this Rams team
has had your number and the Seahawks have just gotten
into the end zone. Geno Smith is throwing a touchdown
pass two dk metcalf from eight yards out, extra point
pending twenty to twenty three, thirty six seconds left to
go in l a if they don't win this one, George,
(01:21:28):
after how they lost to the Raiders last week, when
when Josh Jacobs just ran over them and you go
and you bounce back. This week and you lose to
the Rams, it just shows you that they aren't the
team that maybe they were trying to be early on
in the season and that you thought maybe this team, hey,
this team could could slide into the playoffs. And if
(01:21:50):
you lose this game to the Rams, it's gonna be
very difficult for them to do. But they're not doing that.
Yeah they will. Now you are right about what you
said that that losing this game would be disastrous in
terms of making the playoffs. But they're not gonna lose
(01:22:12):
this game. I just like, what this what this team
is doing right now, the way Pete Carroll is handling it.
I'm rooting for for Geno Geno Smith. And it's funny
because rooting is an interesting word because I told my
my wife, she hates when if anybody says I'm rooting
(01:22:35):
for you. She hates it because she's like, what you
you you When somebody says that that, it feels like
that they weren't expecting you to win. So she's right,
she's right. Yeah. So she's like, don't don't tell me
that you're rooting rooting for me. I'm a winner, expect
(01:22:56):
me to win. But I was like, Okay, I could,
I could accept that she doesn't want to be the
I'm cheering for you. No, no, I'm I'm with you.
I'm with you. I know you're gonna get it. So
but uh, yeah, I believe in this Seahawks team to
a point, like I believe in them enough to make
the playoffs. And that's it though, Yeah, and where it
(01:23:18):
stands right now. Because the Commanders have had this bit
of a resurgence, they get the tie today, which was
interesting because the Giants had a play at midfield fourth
and three called midfield and overtime. They're about two minutes
to go, and they chose to punt it because the
tie helps the Giants, and in reality, the tight helps
(01:23:42):
everybody if you don't get the loss, you know, I mean, like,
you know, if you're the Commanders and you're not in
an advantageous you know, spot, then a tie definitely helps you.
And in that scenario, though the Giants were fourth and three,
you maybe take a look at the standings. You don't
want to We're up a half game on the Commanders.
If we tie, they you know, like we can still
(01:24:03):
keep some of that separation that ended up happening. But
in the in the NFC with the with the playoff picture,
we were just joking about how you know much of
a log jam the NBA is right now in the
Western Conference, but realistically in the NFC, there's it's probably
eight teams for seven spots. Like the Lions are five
(01:24:26):
and seven right now and sitting there, you know, in
the ninth spot in the in the NFC, that's two spots.
The Lions, Yeah, at five and seven are considered, you know,
in playoff contention if you will. But to think that
they're gonna make a push and go ten and seven
just not realistic. So when you have that, like you
know it's it's going to be the Seahawks, it's gonna
(01:24:48):
be the Commanders, it's gonna be the Giants. It's very
likely that it's the one team that's left out is
going to be coming from that group. And if you're
the Seahawks, that's why you can't lose this game today
to the Rams, because it is yeah, and and because
the forty Niners are continuously being a a steady like
(01:25:09):
they feel like one of those aside from the Chiefs,
they feel like one of those NFL cruise ships, like
it was like almost like the Patriots, like you know
what's gonna happen. You know that they're gonna be under
playoffs no matter no matter what. It's just and they're
a tough out. You just you just know that you
(01:25:31):
better bring your bring your hard hat against some of
these teams. And uh yeah, so, uh so if you're
the Seahawks, you can't fall behind because as the season closes,
the forty Niners have a history of not faltering. The
Chiefs have just missed a fifty five yard field goal
(01:25:52):
that would have tied the game in Cincinnati, three nineteen
left to go, Bengals up to twenty four. Pat Mahomes
actual Lee came limping off the field on that uh
on that third down play. Uh he ended up and
I don't want to speculate on the injury, but he
was limping as he walked off the The Bengals again
(01:26:14):
a three point lead on the Chiefs, nineteen to go,
three minutes to go. In San Francisco, the aforementioned forty
Niners up six on the Dolphins, facing a second and thirteen.
The Dolphins, uh, just with one time out so they
can stop the clock once and one more time and
(01:26:36):
they just did so on a sack of brock Purty.
If you're just joining us, Jimmy Garoppolo knocked out early
in this game with an ankle injury, so it's Penn
brock Purty the rest of the way. But it's the
Niners up twenty three to seventeen, Dolphins trying to hold
San Francisco to a field goal and then would need
some divine intervention on the other side of its Seahawks
(01:26:57):
have just picked up picked off John Wolford on a
third and long, So the Seahawks are gonna leave l
A with a twenty seven twenty three victory. Is there's
just a few seconds remaining in the Seahawks will just
have to take a knee and the Chargers are back
into this one to twenty. But it's the Raiders still
with the lead. Keenan Allen cut a thirty five year
touched on pass from Justin Herbert, So now the Chargers
(01:27:19):
defense has to step up to the plate and get
a stop and get the football back to their offense.
That's where we stand right now in the uh the
late window of games. And I'm telling you, we started
off this show talking about the Cincinnati Bengals, George and um,
I don't know, things just kind of seemed to go
(01:27:41):
their way when they face the Kansas City Chiefs and
jumped out of that four team to three lead and
Kansas City comes back, is able to answer, and Cincinnati
is able to then force a turnover. A nice back
and forth. But right now it seems like in the end,
Cincinnati continues to get that last word that uh um
that again, I can't explain, but it just seems like
(01:28:02):
the sensiative Bengals may have the Kansas City Chiefs number.
Oh yeah. And I can't even go that that far yet, Dan,
I can't go that far. That is way too far
for me to say, because there's three minutes left. Exactly
if these are the Chiefs, these are the Chiefs, they
(01:28:23):
need thirteen seconds, Bro, they need thirteen seconds. If if, if,
if they do not get first downs and all of this,
it is gonna be a problem because, um so they
missed the fifty five yard field goal and now the
Bengals are gonna need two first downs, all right, I'll
(01:28:47):
believe they'll get two first downs to to ice the game.
When I when when I see it, I don't believe
the Chiefs have lost. Until until the game's over, the
Chiefs have all their time outs, so they're gonna Yeah,
there's there's plenty of opportunities. Bengals can still throw the ball,
which they did out to the flats of Jamaar. Chase
(01:29:08):
got about nine yards. That's the perfect scenario, but he
did step out of bounds, so the clock stops. But
it'll be second down in one for Cincinnati. As for
the forty niners in that Dolphins game right now, a
six point lead for San Francisco, Robbie golds on to
try to make it a nine point lead, forty eight
yard field goal attempt, uh ends up being as he
(01:29:34):
lines up, the kick is silence the way it's good. Okay,
two minutes to go in that contest. Uh, Dolphins will
need a bit of a prayer, and the Bengals just
got a first down. Some Asia appearance, they don't miss
It's not a knock on Jill Mixing, but they don't
miss a beat when some RP. Ryan takes over. It's
(01:29:55):
like you talk about a one two punch. You know,
Mixing was not playing today. It was not cleared from
concussion protocol. But uh, they've got something going in that
Cincinnati backfield. Is you know, p Ryan is just his
status quo, just keep on moving along. And Jomar Chaser
was out for a little bit. It was a hiccup,
but when Joe Mixon was out, p Ran just ends
(01:30:16):
up sliding right in testament to who Cincinnati is. I
do want to let you know and welcome you to
the Fox Sports Radiotailgate presented by the Big Green Egg.

late window, Cincinnati trying to work the clock against the Chiefs.
Uh fresh set of downs. Kansas City is used to
time out. Raiders are gonna have the football now in
Chargers territory, up seven and the Niners have just kicked
it back to the Dolphins. George and I will be back.
We'll have a look at your fantasy misses. Excuse me
(01:30:59):
from earlier to a bow Benson will have a look
at who was off the radar for us when it
comes to fantasy went down the wrong pipe, George, just
a little bit uh with that, with with that one.
And then there's a team that did not recover. Yeah,
give give you a second of recovery, give you, give
you a standing eight count. I feel like on the
(01:31:19):
final point two of that twenty six point two of
a marathon of just trying to get to the finish line,
there is a point I want to get to. One
team did not shed its nickname today. They were close,
but it did not happen. We'll bring you the conclusion
of all that that's coming up next year on Fox
Sports Red Zone Radio, Fox Sports Red Zone Radio. On
a Fox Football Sunday, He's George rice Stir. I'm Dan Buyer,
(01:31:43):
quarterback injuries. Maybe the highlights or the headline I should say,
not highlight the headline of week thirteams or company alive
from the Entirect dot Com studios. Get George on Twitter
at George rice Ster. You can find me on Twitter
at Dan Buyer. On Fox, the Niners lost Jimmy Garoppolo
today to an ankle injury. He did not return after
suffering the injury in the first half, but the Niners
(01:32:04):
get a win against the Dolphins thirty three to seventeen,
Dolphins scoring a defensive touchdown to a tongue of Blow
actually had to leave the game late with an ankle
injury and ended up not being on the field for
the Dolphins final uh possession, which ended up in an interception.
So a couple of banged up quarterbacks there. Cincinnati has
got a twenty lead on the Chiefs and they're in
(01:32:26):
victory formation, so the Bengals will hold on for a
three point win, as they taken the in Cincinnati, so
the third straight time Joe Burrow and the Bengals have
topped Kansas City. That's about to be a final and
the Chargers just failed to convert on a fourth and nine.
They were in the Raiders territory but unable to convert.
(01:32:47):
So now with two thirty seven left to go, it'll
be a second down for the Raiders, a second down
and about eight Chargers have one time out left. That's
the only game that is going on right now. The
biggest injury of all is one to Lamar Jackson of
the Baltimore Ravens. They got the win today Tyler Huntley
scoring on a touchdown scramble laid against the Broncos, the
(01:33:08):
only touchdown of the game, George ten nine Broncos. Broncos
seemingly are the conversation after every time they lose, but
this one, the conversation now shifts kind of to the
Ravens and Lamar Jackson status. Oh yeah, yeah, because Lamar
Jackson is in a case where he bet on himself.
(01:33:29):
He bet on himself and and granted it's it's it's
not like he bet on himself and he's playing poorly
or something, and but but he isn't a case of
if he is out for a extended period of time,
because part of the betting on himself is about it
(01:33:53):
is about the playoffs, because that's kind of been the
question about the Ravens, and they do good in the
regular season, they win the division, but then they gotta
go win playoff games. And if if he is has
a serious injury, that is definitely going to impact his
free agency. I don't think it's gonna impact the money,
(01:34:18):
but he may end up at the bottom end of
things where he ends up with a Kyler Murray deal
instead of a Deshaun Watson deal. It was a days
two weeks, is how John Harbaugh characterized it. But in
the grand scheme of things for Lamar, like is this
(01:34:40):
is this is the question because I think we've gotten
to the point and I know that there are there's
a one off here or there that will say I
wouldn't pay Lamar, you know, I would move on, And look,
I don't. I think we're past that. Like he's going
to get his money. What you're saying is is he
gonna get top top dollar or is he just gonna
(01:35:02):
get top dollar? Is that fair and characterizing? Yeah? And
that's and and then this is this now becomes the
other part of it because of his style of play,
Like this is now now a knee injury. So if
he comes back, you know, to your point, like what
does this mean for the playoffs? And if he is
coming back, is he even full Lamar? But I also
(01:35:23):
think now it kind of puts in the back of
your head if this is his style of play, which
has been the the detractors of Lamar Jackson who have said,
all right, the guy's got a style of play that
is going to just have you susceptible. The injury. Now
does that affect anything? Do you think that that then
in the long term of it, Like now all of
a sudden, all of a sudden, this knee injury pops up,
(01:35:45):
you know, and and when you're later on in life,
you're not as quick as you were when you were younger.
And we know how much Lamar's game is predicated on
his mobility and running the football. If you were the
Ravens and you were, you know, doing that contract which
we know they've offered him one, does this, you know,
(01:36:06):
put any pause into what you would pay Lamar? Because now,
all of a sudden there is an injury, and there
could be a developed injury history. Um, I guess. But
because he was only because he was hurt last year,
could you even kind of put that into into the
era if you will, because because yeah, because two years
(01:36:30):
in a row does put you at some injury history.
And because he is a a I would call a
complete quarterback a dude who runs the ball and throws
the ball. But but he but he is uh, he
is more on the side of uh, like he shades
more towards being a being a runner. So I think
(01:36:52):
that that puts you in more Jeopardy. So so yeah,
they're gonna be some hesitations on long term contracts when
when somebody has an injury history like that, Raiders got
a first down, so now the Chargers cannot stop the
clock anymore at the two minute warning. Raiders having a
second down and eight, so they can take off another
(01:37:15):
eighty seconds of the clock if need be, and then
could punt it away and justin Herbert would have very
little time and no time out to try to get
his team back from a seven point deficit to twenty.
I just I think that these conversations are legit, George,
because when Dak was hurt, when Dak broke his leg
against the Giants for everyone to see on actual TV
(01:37:38):
and there's a camera right there on the leg, we
were saying to ourselves, man, what is going to happen now?
And it had zero effect on his contract status because
he returned from the injury. Dac isn't the runner that
Lamar Jackson is or the runner that other quarterbacks are.
(01:37:58):
He can, but it's it's truly his arm that is
is the reason that you're going to be paying him
forty million dollars a year Like that did not that
did not have the Cowboys hesitate for any second in
paying back. And I think that there are certain quarterbacks that, yeah,
you say, all right, well we're you know, if there
was an injury, there really isn't anything to lose. I
(01:38:20):
do think Lamar's situation is different. And I'll even look
at the other quarterback on the other sideline today, like
we talked about Russell Wilson and Russell not you know,
just and how bad the Broncos offenses and him just
not seeming like the quarterback that he once was. He's
also not the runner that he once was. And now
Lamar speed compared to Russell Wilson's is Lamar's in a different,
(01:38:41):
different category. But it does go back to the point
of at some point you are going to slow up
a little bit, and so there's that that aspect of it.
Lamar is going to get paid, But to your point,
I actually agree with you and saying that it's not
going to be the top he will he he will
(01:39:01):
still be oh well over forty million dollars a year
for average, But we're talked about that guaranteed money. They're
a big difference between a hundred sixty five or a
hundred eighty guaranteed in two forty. That's a that's a
lot of m's in between. I actually, if you just
gave me right right up now, you would like a George, George, look,
(01:39:26):
I know that maybe uh maybe ten years from now. Uh,
if things go completely right, you might have a two
forty con contracts sitting on your table by by a
Fox Sports. But but wiggie, but wiggie at that in
between right now, at sixty right now, I'm gonna I'm
(01:39:48):
gonna take the sixty right now. Sure I think they
are actually talking about that right now. I don't know
if you've bugged anyone's office, but that's that's the conversation.
I'll take some of George's too, um for anybody's let's
I'll take some of that. The uh second out carry
excuse me by the Raiders, Um just a short game.
So it'll bring up third down and about six. So
(01:40:10):
the Raiders up seven again on the Chargers buck forty
five in counting. Let's get a look at some fantasy numbers.
The one and only Bill Benson back with us fantasy
heads and missus. All right, George, were you gonna say something?
You are talking? Ok? All right, all right, we'll do
(01:40:30):
a real quick here, guys. Mrs Today. Quarterbacks Deshaun Watson
in his return a hundred and thirty one yards, no
touchdowns in an interception, Russell Wilson just a hundred and
eighty nine yard passed a hundred and eighty nine yards
passing today, no touchdowns or nothing. Running Backs Derrick Henry
held to just thirty yards on the ground against the
Eagles defense that had been giving up a lot of
(01:40:51):
rushing yards up until today. Aaron Jones for the Packers
just twenty six yards rushing for him. Wide receivers Amari
Cooper the Browns just four receptions for forty yards. Deebo
Samuel forty Niners. You expect more from him after they
lose their starting quarterback, but he just had six receptions
for fifty eight yards and not much on the ground
from him. And Travis Kelsey and the Chiefs after his
(01:41:11):
recent run. Just four receptions for fifty six yards from
him today and uh costly fumble it was held him up.
Defenders held him up able to strip the football with
the Bengals and uh, the Chiefs had the football in
the fourth quarter, so he turned over there Sean McVeigh
just spoke with the media. Just saw a tweet George.
I don't know if you saw this as well, but
Sean McVeigh talking about Matthew Stafford who was placed on
(01:41:34):
I R that Stafford as a spinal cord contusion. I
don't think that we expected to see Stafford back at
any point this season for the Rams, especially when they
placed him on injured reserve. But this pretty much solidifies
that for for a Rams team that lost the Seahawks today,
it's a little bit more than a little bit more
(01:41:56):
concerning for Matthew Stafford as uh. The Rams ended up
losing to the Seahawks today. Get George on Twitter at
George Royster. You can find me on Twitter at Dan
Buyer on Fox and you can find Bo Benson in
the brand new Twitter hand handle bow at Bow not Jackson.

back to the Chargers. The Chargers will have to go
eighty nine yards in twenty two seconds with no time outs.
(01:42:39):
Down seven um to the Raiders if they want to
leave Las Vegas UH with the ability to tie or
even get a win. A tough task for Justin Herbert
and Crew George. For the final time this afternoon, we're
gonna go over to the news desk. Mans Milanios is
here to give us the latest of what's happening. A
line from the tirect dot com studios. All Right, Monsey,
(01:43:01):
have I said that the Chargers are annoying? Have I
mentioned that? Just in case you didn't hear me the
first time? The Chargers are so annoying. Looks like they're
about to lose. Hey, maybe a hail Mary. I don't know,
but they are down by seven to Raiders. Yeah, they
need a lot of hanil Maries. Really, I cannot The
Raiders are probably gonna win twenties. Seven to twenty is
(01:43:23):
the score. I'll probably tell you that by the end
of this update. Again, the forty Niners without Jimmy g
got hurt very early in the game. We're able to
kind of dominate the Dolphins in this game. Thirty three
seventeen was the final score. And then at the end
they did say that to Ato by Lois suffered another
ankle injury. You mentioned it happened late in the game,
so we'll get an update to see how bad that
(01:43:45):
one is. The Bengals were able to hold on. Did
you hear that, George, The Chiefs didn't win. I know,
I was shocked to not gonna lie was the final score?
Joe Burrow two hundred and eighty six yards to touchdowns
in the air. He also had a rushing touchdown with
this Bengals lost today. The Bills are now at the
(01:44:06):
top of the a f C. They have the same
record nine and three, but the Bills beat the Bengals already,
So right now the Bills are alone at the top
of the a f C. And the games that happened
earlier today the Seahawks they held on. They beat the
Rams seven to twenty three. Gino Smith three hundred and
sixty seven yards and three touchdowns in the air. Who
(01:44:26):
what about that? Jared Goff was gonna be one of
those quarterbacks today that through for over three hundred yards.
Raise your hand, put it down. None of you did.
Jared Goff through for three hundred and forty yards and
two touchdowns as the Lions dominate the Jaguars forty to fourteen.
The Packers had eighteen unanswered points in the fourth quarter
against the Bears and they won twenty eight to nineteen.
Christian Watson had a touchdown on the ground and in
(01:44:47):
the air for Green Bay. And I know last week
Mike White was the hero in New York. Not this week. No.
He completed thirty one a fifty seven passes fifty seven
passes three hundred and sixty nine yards, but no touchdowns.
He did have two interceptions as the Vikings beat the
Jets to twenty two. The Eagles had no issues with
the Titans. You just heard how Derrick Henry did nothing.
(01:45:09):
Thirty five to ten was the final score. Jalen Hurts
did everything three and eighty yards, three touchdowns and a
rushing touchdowns and the Eagles are now eleven and one.
The Ravens and the Broncos such a boring game. The
raven scored the only touchdown of the game in the
final minute. They survived ten nine over the Broncos. Lamar
Jackson left the game early in the second quarter with
(01:45:30):
a knee injury. They said it's not season ending. He's
gonna have more tests than tomorrow, but they said days
two weeks, we'll probably get a better update tomorrow. We
did have one tie today between the Commanders and the Giants.
That one ended in a tie, and the Browns beat
the Texans fourteen. But it really was the Browns defense
and special teams that gave the Browns of victory. They
had an interception return for a touchdown, a foam ball
(01:45:52):
return for a touchdown, a punt return for a touchdown,
and the safety. They accounted for twenty four of the
twenty seven points that Cleveland put up and Deshaun Watson
his return by not twelve yards, no touchdowns and one
interception And is it official? Are the charges as annoint
as I said? Yes, the Raiders back to you guys,
(01:46:12):
all right? Thanks Mons. Find her on Twitter at Monsey Bolanos.
It is Fox Sports Red Zone Radio. Get George on
Twitter at George Rice Stir. You could find me on
Twitter at Dan Buyer on Fox. That Jets Vikings scheme
and montery was given Mike White stats. I was waiting.
I was waiting for the Jets to grab control of
that game and to end up coming out in the
(01:46:35):
end and winning that game. They made a lot of
errors early on. Vikings of course didn't capitalize on some
of them. Um, and the Vikings were who they are,
still the Minnesota Vikings, George, even after the win today
the Jets, I give them. I give the Vikings kudos
for their for their stops that they made late in
(01:46:55):
the game, plays that they made. But I was just
waiting for the Jets to end up breaking through and
the and the Vikings to collapse. Didn't happen. Doesn't mean
that the Minnesota nickin goes away though, But I was
just waiting for Mike White to be that hero to
make that play, whether it's hitting Garrett Wilson in the
end zone or even Elijah More didn't end up happening.
(01:47:17):
The Vikings end up getting a five uh five point win,
and now those Jets end up playing Bills next week
in a huge game. Dude. Vikings fans are gonna be
so sad, dude, because they're gonna be let down, Oh
my god, new first round of the playoffs. They are
gonna be they're gonna be the two that well, yeah,
(01:47:38):
they're probably gonna be the two seed running into the playoffs,
like yeah, let's go baby, And then all of a sudden,
it's gonna be because because I don't think anybody's gonna
be able to catch catch Philly and and Dallas for
sure is they're gonna be able to win this division.
Un less Philly just has a fall off in the
next five weeks, which isn't likely without a without something
(01:48:01):
happening to Jalen Hurts. But oh man, they're fans. It's
fool's gold. It is literally fool's gold. They they believe,
Oh yeah, we're so damn good, and and we're not
getting the respect we deserve. We're not getting the respect
we deserve. And then they get smacked up by the Cowboys.
(01:48:25):
And then last week really good bounce back game against
the Patriots. See I told you so. Then we beat
the Jets. But the amen, A man, you are you
are living on a rangers on a razor's edge, buddy.
This is this is their schedule, and this is this
is the thing about Minnesota where for what they have
left there at Detroit, then back to back home games
(01:48:47):
against the Colts and Giants. Then they finish at Green
Bay and at Chicago and for where the Vikings are
five and old like like like that stress, you're saying
to yourself, alright, five and oh. Then you look at
it and you're like, okay, well, it's a road game
against Green Bay. It is a rivalry. Maybe you know,
(01:49:10):
maybe four and one. Then you're like, you know what,
the Lions just put up? How many points? The lines
have no trouble scoring points? Then vikings and lines have
had some interesting games in the past. Now you're like, okay,
well if they you know, somehow just happen to drop
that one, it's three and two. And now you're like, alright, Colts,
Giants and Bears, Like what about if Justin Fields ends
up playing, you know, in week eighteen and runs wild?
(01:49:30):
And now you're so like, that's what happens when you're Minnesota.
And I know every Minnesota fan agrees, because that's that's
what life is like. That that's when when when Kirk
Cousins is your quarterback, when you when you have had
those lapses before, when those things happen to you, it
should look like a perfect five and oh slate to
go the rest of the way, but you just know
(01:49:52):
it's it's not there. You're absolutely right, George, it's not there. No, no, no,
no no. And then they will be instead of being
super excited like they were when they walked off with
the Dig's miracle, they're gonna be They're gonna be going
going home and and you know, feeling like that this
(01:50:13):
season is a let down by the way today's and
I'm glad Monsey pointed out the Buffalo thing of of
them having now the number one seed in the a
f C, because when you look at what the Chiefs
have left, they're at Denver and at Houston and then
their home against the Seahawks, and then they have the
Broncos at home, and then they're at the Raiders, and
(01:50:34):
we know Raiders Chiefs can get crazy. But those other
four games are are very very winnable games for Kansas City.
So Buffalo is sitting there now. If you're Buffalo, you
are now in the driver's seat, but you are you
are going to have to to win out and their
schedule much more difficult. Jets, Dolphins, Bears, Bengals and Patriots
(01:50:54):
at Bengals game in a week seventeen on uh day
after New Year's to be very, very interesting. But at
least it's there for Buffalo the opportunity to grab home
field and make other teams come to Buffalo and have
the a f C Playoffs go through you know, High
Mark Stadium, Like that's a big, big deal. It's crazy
(01:51:16):
to think that the Chiefs had their streak of straight
wins in November December. Snap today, George the other crazy
snap stat with Kansas City. Patrick Mahomes has never never
played a playoff road game. It's never started a road
game in the playoffs yet. So if Buffalo then could
change this year, yeah it could, It absolutely could. But
(01:51:38):
Buffalo is gonna have to navigate those final five games
and play a little bit better than they have been showing.
All right. Get George on Twitter at George Rice Stir.

is this? Uh? You know what? I got other stuff
I need to do on a Sunday night. It's semi
(01:52:20):
intriguing only because I care if the Colts lose, not
because I wish anything upon Jeff Jeff Saturday. But we've
talked about how I felt about how this whole process
too took place, and you know, so it's bad because
I like Jeff Saturday, don't know him super well. People
(01:52:40):
genuinely don't have anything bad to say about him. But
it is just I just can't. I just can't like it, man,
I just can't can't like it. So I gotta be
for the Cowboys tonight. But it is not. I don't
think it's gonna be terribly interesting if it's giving Vikings
Cowboys vibes. If forty three, I think the cults will
(01:53:03):
have a little bit more of a of a showing tonight.

Let's jump over to the news desk with Monty Belanos
(01:57:16):
Breaking news from Fox Sports. Hey guys, I hate to
have to tell you this, but multiple reports are saying
that forty Niners quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo has a broken left foot.
Kyle Shanahan had coach, told reporters he's expected to miss
the rest of the season. Oh wha, This is now
the Brock Party Show with the forty niners. Um, sometimes
(01:57:40):
you get if you're Brock, Brock party, here's your shot, bro.
The the first rounders on the bench, the uh the
backup used to be franchise quarterback out as well. Bro.
This is and I know that it's not necess really
fair because he's a rookie. And that's a that's an
(01:58:04):
uphill climb because you're gonna have some you know, like
some of those woes. But there are two parts of this.
First thing is this has kind of been Jimmy Garoppolo's career,
you know what I mean, Like like he's faced a
lot of adversity, a lot of injuries, and as a
player who was oft injured, I get it, and it sucks,
(01:58:27):
but um, you know, but but at least he's rich
on the way out. This is tell you what I
I am not is in love with Kyle Shanahan's accomplishments
and resume like that. A lot of the mainstream media
is I feel, um, if they succeed and go anywhere,
(01:58:48):
my goodness, uh am, I gonna have to change my tune.
This defense is playing this team, This defense is playing
lights out. But you know you've acquired you know, now
out a pressure on Christian McCaffrey. Uh's added pressure on
that defense? That what matched a five year old record
of seventeen points or less in their fifth straight game
today holding a team to seventeen points? Um, if if,
(01:59:12):
if they have any success moving forward with Brock Purty
as their quarterback. Um, I'm gonna have to change my
tune about Kyle Shanahan. I think we give him a
little bit more credit than than he deserves for the results.
But if you're able to keep this thing going with
Mr Irrelevant again, Brock party was the last pick of
the draft. If you can continue that, Um, yeah, that
(01:59:35):
would be a job very very well done by Kyle Shanahan. Wow. Uh,
the NFC completely up of the air. We'll see if
one of those contenders can get it done tonight against
the Colts. George Lakes, the Cowboys. I do as well,
and we hope that Week fourteen is just as exciting.
So for Monter Belanospo, Benzon, Alex tysher Iowa, Sam, George,
