Speaker 1 (00:01):
Don't listening to Fox Sports. Oh yeah, that's right, Martin White, VJ.
Husky in what you tell about ten o'clock Eastern Standard
time on this Fox Sports Football Saturday, VJ. It's a
wonderful time of the year because you know what, we
got college football, we got college basketball, we got the
pros going on, and you know what, we got a
full slate on Sunday. It's that great. But right now,
(00:22):
broadcasting live from the tire rac dot Com studios tire
rack dot com, we'll help you get there with an
unmatched selection, fast, free shipping, free road hazard protection over
ten thousand recommending the stallars ti irac dot com the
way tire buying should be and VJ. As we're sitting
here now, the Cleveland Browns lead to Baltimore Ravens by
ten with about eleven minutes left in the fourth quarter
(00:42):
of Steve the Seger just told you. But we would
be remiss if we did not go back to the
early the early game today. They started off Sunday Football
with the bang as the Vikings come back and what
I consider the biggest collapse in the second half that
we see out of a team up thirty since the
Super Bowl in the Atlanta Falcons coincidentally enough, both quarterbacks
by Matt Ryan. But uh, the Vikings come back and
(01:05):
somehow this team goes to eleven and three by I mean,
just by stick and glue, like my dad would say.
Mcgeiver is putting this thing together. This Vikings run as
they come back to us, as they come back and
win the game by three, don't cover, of course, but
I called it with what they were down fifteen points.
I said, watch, they're gonna come back win this game
by three and overtime boom. That's what happened. And not covering? Man,
(01:26):
what's going on? Are you doing? Baby? Life is good?
I know, man, life is good. Man, life is really good.
Are you kidding me? This game earlier today and what
let's just get right in, toy man, what do you
mean the biggest collapse. Let's let's point out a few
things here. Let's not act like at thirty three to
nothing in week fifteen. Pro athletes, Guys that know that
they're tenant three and they're gonna go to ten and
four and most likely make the playoffs and still win
(01:48):
their division, don't say you know what, Today's just not
our day Today's just not the day it happens. Man.
Let's get ready for week sixteen. We got four more
after this. We can still win the division. We can
still host a playoff game in the wild Car round
or even the division and the divisional round too, like
we have home field and unless we have to play
the Eagles. But that's not what they did. Somebody got
(02:09):
to them and half toomin was like, guys, look, whether
it was high octane yelling, screaming, cussin or weather, it
was guys, Look, we we couldn't have played the worst
half that we've played, probably in each and every one
of you football lives in this locker room right now.
Let's go zero zero. Let's get back to the basics.
Let's start blocking, let's start running, let's start catching the ball.
Let's forget about the calls and the referees. We're at home,
(02:32):
we got the crowd, and what do they do. They
man up when a lot of people would have mailed
it in, knowing that they have next week and some
more games to clinch and go get a dub. Today
showed me a lot like that wasn't the biggest collapse.
They don't call it the biggest collapse of all time.
They say it's the biggest comeback in NFL history, and
(02:55):
they've been playing football in the NFL for one hundred years.
That game was awesome. Shout out to the gets like
dog like you said, we got started off really really
really really really good with football this weekend. I mean
we did. But also I'm not gonna forget the fact
that the culture in the middle of the biggest tank
job in the history of the NFL. And that's with
(03:16):
appending lawsuit for another one that that is being tried
right now in the case the law. But this is
obviously the biggest tank job in the history of the NFL.
When you bring in a guy Jeff Saturday, I'm not
This is not a feel good story. This is not
something that people should be like, oh, just give the
guy a chance. No, no, they're tanking openly. And the
idea that you're gonna go into the game, all right, listening,
(03:38):
what do the Indianapolis Calls do? Well? Right? They run
the ball, right, That's what they do. So it makes
perfect sense with a thirty literally thirty point lead, that
you're gonna run the ball. I don't know, one to three, five,
six times. I counted it from the start of the
second half to the two minute where took the three
minutes left in the fourth quarter. They let that game
go by not possessing the ball. And you know what
(04:00):
part of the problem was, maybe they got a play
caller who's never called plays before and I'm sorry not
and he's not He's not in I don't know a
week what is the thirteen of experience, he's in a
week like five of experience, because everybody on this could
staff is on week five of experience because they got
this joker as a head coach put him back on TV.
That's why it's a collapse. And honestly, the Vikings, I
(04:21):
mean it, don't get me wrong, I'm not gonna take
anything away from them because it sounds like, well, well no,
because they should have won the game several times because
they had the fumble that was a touchdown that the
referees called back. You had Justin Jefferson coming out of
the game after that and evaluated for a concussion, and
then would have the very next play, Kirk Cousins throws
an interception on an over route that would have been
to Justin Jefferson. So like there was a lot of
(04:43):
confluence of events that had to occur for the Vikings
to come back and win, and I think that, you know,
it's something that you should commend them for. But ultimately,
at the end of the day, when the other team
mails it in, I'm sorry, dog like I can't. I can't,
I can't do it. I don't think they mailed it
in though they are bailing it in by the default
that they have people who have no idea what they're
(05:03):
doing running the show. Okay, if you want to go
that angle, fine, but those players on the field don't
care about that. Those players on the field is still
getting paycheck, those players on the field is still fight
for endorsement deals. Those players are the field, is still playing.
And that's what I'm saying, not trying to take anything
away from them. When when the structure of your organization
is to tank, as the Indianapolis Cultu are doing right now,
that I'm not gonna be surprised when they do it.
(05:23):
But the players are not gonna ride with that though,
so I'm not putting that on them. That's why I'm
giving even more credits to the Vikers because, as you said,
they had two touchdowns possibly taken away from them the defense.
The funcal call is b as. They need to actually
get on the referees. I don't think I've seen a
worse officiating season in the NFL than I've seen this season.
(05:44):
That play is the troches. You can see live that
by the time the defensive back picks the ball up,
the running back is just now falling to the ground.
He's still halfway up. How do you not know as
a referee, And no one blew their whistle. Every referee stood,
which is their of to do. Let the play play out,
and then if we need to go review it, we'll
review it. But the rule is okay, they recovered, okay,
(06:06):
but we ran it back for a touchdown. We should
get that seven. No, you just get the ball right here.
They have to they have to change that. So then
once again, that's a mistake right there in the referees
that took the game from it. And they still went
out and did they think the congratulations trying to win
this game. I'm not going you can't tell me that.
You can't tell they're not trying to win any game.
They were trying to win games. Frank White would have
(06:28):
been the coach you're putting Sam Ellinger would have never
saw the field this season. If the cultures trying to
win games, I'm sorry, I'm not gonna not call it
out when I see it. They're actively taking the only
ran the ball seven times, and the players know they
were trying to tank. So we're not gonna listen. Like
I said, Like I said, I'm not taking anything. I'm
not taking anything away from the players. I don't think
(06:48):
that Matt Ryan wanted to go out there and lose
that game in the way that he did. But ultimately,
when you are Hamstrong, right, I'll put it like this,
Matt Ryan the chef of the cults. The cults players
are a chef. You know what. They're getting their groceries,
and not that they're not at the farmer's market, They're
not that whole fool. They're at somewhere that I don't
I don't want to even go there. I don't even
want to do that because I started down a bad path.
(07:10):
But you know what I'm saying, right, they're getting their
food from the food pantry. Okay, They're going down there
and getting their fooding the food pantry and expected to
make five gorged meals. Nah, you got a real NFFL
team on the other side with a real NFL coach
and real NFL players, And while you have real NFL
players for the coach, you're missing the other two things.
So I'm not surprised when they blow a big lead,
like to me, the Falcons and the Patriots, that to me,
(07:32):
I would still have that as the biggest comeback because
I know everybody there was trying to win. Yeah, but
that's not what the record book saying. That's not what
the number said. The numbers said today was the biggest
comeback in NFL history. Man shout out to the Vicus
for staying tough, staying locked in and getting back to
the basics. They got back to the basics and they
didn't let a lot of stuff not go their way
and the first half bothered than we've seen pro athletes,
(07:53):
check out, Martin. We've seen this in football where guys
are like, all right, let's just saying our day. I'm
a I'm a still look you when you don't do that.
Not only do you do that, you have the biggest
comeback of all time in NFL history and a hundred
years in the game where you're down at home thirty
three to nothing with said bad taking coach as you
(08:14):
put it, with said bad taking infrastructure as you put it,
and you're down thirty three to nothing, And it looked
like they were trying to tank in the first half,
being down thirty three to nothing, being three to nothing.
I mean, listen, I'm going to half time. They're not
going to half time and say, you know what, We've
ran the ball seventeen times were almost a hundred yards
in the first half. He said, you know what we'll do.
Let's throw with Matt Ryan and at Alexe Pittman and
(08:36):
Alex Pierce. Because that's what that's how we got at
thirty point. Okay, So okay, so let me go here there,
let me go here. So that's what I'm saying. You
think the coaches, Yes, I think the coaches are bad.
I think not bad, not bad. Do you think the coaches?
Here's what I'm telling you. Let's say this. Let's say
this right now. We're in competition with all the other
radio stations right now trying to get garner ratings. Right
(08:58):
if me and you had no idea what we were doing,
or in fact, let's say you and I were speaking
Japanese or a language that is not necessarily spoken in
the United States like that. You know, say we're in
LG you guys finding well, you know you got you
got spanness linguags radio. But the whole point of the
matter is people are gonna listen to us because they're
not gonna know what the hell we're saying right now.
Why is that the case? Because everybody else here knows
(09:18):
what they're doing. Everybody else here has experienced doing it,
everybody else here has climbed up the ranks. Everybody else
here didn't just walk in day one and say, you
know what, let's turn these things on and see if
we can make it happen. You know what, you can't
make it happen. Listen. If you're talking about the coaches,
my only question will be our youth. Are you implying
(09:39):
or maybe saying are slightly full sixty whatever saying that
they come out in the second half and they know
that they're trying to tank? What I mean? In Miami,
did Saturdays in the bag? Jeff Saturday is in the bag?
That's my take. Jeff Satday is in the bag. And
if he's not in the BA, he's a damn fool,
(10:01):
because what makes you think you can walk in there
and be an NFL head coach without any experienced He's dumb.
He thinks he could do it. He said, he said
it in this press conference. This isn't just fun. This
isn't just you know, a hobby or something I'm trying
to do. I've been around football, y'all. I don't have
to tell you guys forbiding what the press conference was.
If you want to see it, go YouTube it. It's
(10:22):
out there, going on Twitter, and finally it's out there.
But he did say he knows what he's doing and
he's got this. But today I'm tipping my hat to
the me not so the Vican that dude. I was
yelling at the screen like I was a Vikings fan
because I just couldn't believe what I was seeing with
my own two eyes. Man. Shout out to man, see
you taking team sell it. Yeah. Also to shout out
(10:44):
Patrick Peterson, a guy I've always been a big fan
of all the way back to college at l s U.
At his age to still be locked down and make
plays the way he does huge today at shot out
the ceiling coming back today, Well, I mean I don't
say that again, got up off the turf a couple
of yeah, yeah, absolutely, well me, you know, older guy
getting bang, he got hurt and kept kept on exactly him.
(11:05):
And also to Adam Finland, which is I have him
on a bunch of fantasy teams because I thought he
really would excel this year. I thought there's the year
he'd come back here. But but the second half he
was very, very demontrated with offensive coach on the sideline
and early in the third court. In the second half,
they started to go and find him. He started to
make the big catches for the team. Man, and your
guy T J. Hockenson with the big two point conversion
catch right there. Man, have he become my guy? Well,
(11:28):
I mean he was propping them up. You love the move.
And we talked about at the trad like the teams,
but I was like, pick he was your frast Like
it's like your North Carolina State defense you love so much.
All Right, here we go, I'm talking about I'm talking
about the NFL and Jeff Saturday selling games like I'm
talking about him that the rest of the league just
seems to be fine with this, Like to me, I
(11:48):
would be losing my freaking mind. If I'm another team
and you're telling me you're gonna install this coach who's literally,
I mean quite honestly never even called like high school
upper level of high school football assaulting to everybody involved.
It's assaulting to everybody involved. If I was, if I
was anybody on the Colts, I'd be piste off. And
that's how you end up blowing thirty point leads, you bro,
(12:12):
You go in there, all right? How else would you
blow a thirty point lead? Players not executing, players not
catching balls, players not missing assignments, players not covering receiving Like,
so you think an example so out of thirty so
so do you mean to tell so that's the case,
then how often how many mistakes as a player allowed
(12:32):
to make that because the coach is gonna pull somebody
and put it back up and everybody here's a pro.
Let me give you an except for Jeff Saturday, let
me give you an example. I'm watching the game in
the second half and I'm still trying to figure out. Okay,
momentum is on their side. You know they have one
of the top one, two or three receivers in the league. Okay,
as a corner. Now you know what the call is.
Are the safety you know what the call is, but
sometimes you have to just ignore that call and go
(12:54):
make a damn I'm not doing that. Try. There's some
of the greatest players in the play like that. Understand that,
and I understand nos same page. As a defense, you
know what that means. You know what I mean. It's
seventy five yard touchdown runs for Josh Jacobs, Like if
you're the Chargers and over time, that's how that happens.
One person misses one gap, it's over. You know that.
(13:15):
If you're not sure if you're trying, Paula Malu, are
your boy yours? T ray Lewis? So you know who's
not out there for the Minnesota Vikings. Hold hold up,
I know those guys aren't out there, but there are
still guys in the league even today that makes extinctive
plays on defense that are not the call. Mar It
happens every single Sunday on every single time. So in
(13:38):
the game late today, when you're Stephon Gilmour was a
former defensive player to year who they former All Pro
multiple time player, you gotta look to the same thing. Lip,
I know what the call is, But give me, give
me some help out. I know, I'm you're telling getting
some help right here. Up. You're telling me we gotta
get a break here real quick. But you're telling me
that the players on the field are supposed to be
(14:01):
overrunning the coaches just on a standard basis, Just on
a regular basis, you know, because that's what you're asking,
just to have fun with you absolutely, then with in
that case, in that case, and then well then in
that case you should. I don't understand what your whole
point is about Jeff Saturday and the Colts, because he
clearly has no idea what he's doing. That's like telling
the kids taking the driving class. Hey, you know what
(14:21):
I think I'm gonna put my right. Somebody is a
charge for a reason. Somebody is a charge for a reason.
But somebody you just agreed that players sometimes go roll
and make place right now, and when it works, upthing,
And so what happens when it do that today gets
the least. It happens when it doesn't half what happened
when it doesn't work? What happens when it doesn't work?
(14:42):
You give up a place, But you give up place
when everybody's doing what they're told to do, because it
doesn't matter. Well if the coach is telling you to
be in the wrong spot, you know what. We'll get
back to this and just a minute. Fox Sports Radio.

(16:08):
see this a little bit more because VJ was just exploded.
I honestly feel like y'all did this on purpose just now,
because I dogged this song so bad. When we talk
Christmas songs a week ago. This is this is the
worst Christmas song ever made in the history of Christmas songs.
This song is horrible, and I don't understand the lord
(16:30):
of it and why people love it so damn much. Yeah,
very popular, you're right about that. Oh my god, it's
like it's pop culture pop this song. So it's the
first couple of seconds of the song, it's immediately recognizable. Oh,
it's immediately recognizable. And yeah, so yeah, so's Christmas and
Hollis by run DMC. That's a Christmas song. Baby that's real, Christmas.
(16:53):
You're not like Mariah Carry? Are you just like that song?
You know what? You know what? Why are you all
in my business? Like that's all right? It's really that's
really nobody's business. That's none of y'all. Damn, December seventeen,
This is not the time to talk bout about Mariah Carry.
Save that for February. Okay, I have I'll be I'll
(17:14):
be honest with you, guys. I I it's not a
dislike I don't get once again, like the song, I
just don't get it. I don't get the Lord's like, Okay,
she can hit the high right, she's doing Jackson. She's
not a little thank you right, she's not doing it
from this is the words, Christmas. She's not. You just
don't get She's not. She's not those ladies at ranges wide,
(17:38):
She's not. So what so what Jeff George had a
big arm? So what I said your range was? I thought, yeah,
with the chest and the other one you kind of
saying do lose. That's all I got. But nobody cares
what you want. You're rich, you can buy with you.
(17:59):
Why why you talk it about? See now you're gonna
maybe be mean again. Why are you talking about what
you want? You're rich? What do we care about what
you want? How about the people that's got a little
bit of money? Now she is talking to you. You
can't necessarily just buy and sell people times of change.
You can't just go out there and be like, hey, hey, John,
(18:19):
hunt it thousand come on your mind. You know, actually
she probably could. But if John has to be willing
to go, yeah, exactly, what do you what do you say, John,
you're taking the deal? Hunt it? I'm just vessing with
your I'm just with you. You know who isn't taking
the deal with Lamar Jackson? He did not take the
deal offered him by the Baltimore Ravens. And uh, And
I'd say this right here, as the Ravens losing Steven
(18:42):
check will have all the the info on that, all
the stats and news and just in a couple of minutes,
but they go ahead and drop this one thirteen to three.
And I mean at this point I was thinking about
this on the way in. Justin Tucker has been the
most valuable raven and and they don't use him enough.
But I was realizing the reason why I was saying
that is because This Raven's offense is so frustrating to
(19:04):
watch that it feels like, as soon as they get
near the thirty five yard line, I don't care if
his first second and third down, just kick it because
you got a better shot of advancing in the scoring points.
Because this offense, I mean, we've we've done it before.
You've called high school games. I was at high school games.
This is a high school offense. Man out the concept
(19:26):
coaches and now he well, hey, hey, look you know
what you can. You know you can beat a whole
bunch of teams running a high school like concepts scuriously,
Like if you just go out there and you execute,
and you go out there and handling, you go out
there block. You know, football got hard, you block, you running,
you don't fumble, you don't say, you don't interception, you
probably win the game. Right, So I'm not saying that, like,
but the bravest level of execution, the talent level that
(19:48):
they have in their players. Everybody there, their skill position players,
almost all of them were waived by the Raiders at
one point, DeMarcus Robinson and then uh DeShawn Jackson, Deshan
action was that Polly versus Los Alamitos fifteen, I mean
four weeks ago, and now he's out here running routes right,
So it's like they don't have that. They don't have
the guys to go out here and run something that's
(20:10):
not putting their players in the best possession to succeed,
which is like you know what I'm saying, Like they
don't have to. They can't beat this Vanello because they
don't have the guys to flavor it. Not only that that,
you know, I hate to be that guy. That's all
I enjoy watching the team lose. But what I do enjoy, though,
is all the people in the preseason and you guys,
all big sports heads. You guys heard this too. When
Lamar Jackson wasn't playing in the preseason and Huntley was
(20:32):
looking good, remember people saying I would look to trade
Lamar because Huntley looked so great and Huntley could be
the guy in the future. Dude, I got on air
and went, the hell off, are you kidding me? A
former m v P A dynamic weapon like that as
a record for the most rushing yards and one season
for an NFL quarterback, surpassing the great electrifying Mike Vick.
(20:55):
You You're gonna trade that guy for Huntley? For Huntley?
Are you kid of me? And we're seeing exactly what
that offense is, exactly what they look like without Lamar Jackson.
I said this week on my show Vj's on Sports
were like conduct that if I was Lamar, I wouldn't
come back. I'd be done this year. You have a knee.
I don't want to hear all these getting better today.
(21:15):
The report is he could be available Christmas Eve. Not
Christmas Eve. I'm mean, either be on the sideline with
a coat and in a in a little Scully on.
I'm gonna be home my family. I've done this year.
You didn't want to play, you didn't want to pay me,
So why should I have to really play out this
year with already a hurt knee going into the end
of the year. Not We're not winning the super Bowl
even if I do come back. Hell no, If I
was him, I'd sit the rest of the year and
(21:37):
get up to sign a contract anywhere between two or
did a fifty and three hundred million garrant teed dollars.
I would say, where's the where's the money? Find Baltimore
out what I'm saying all right, So here's the thing
if you're saying, Okay, maybe the argument for why you
don't want to give that big because we're gonna spend
(21:58):
the money here, We're gonna spend the money there was spending. Well,
where are they spending this money? Like, like, it's not
it's not on the offensive weapons, right you have Ryanie Stanley,
but then after that, it's not on the offensive line
starting a center. It's not in the backfield. You know,
it's not necessarily like maybe you Patrick Queens and Rokan
Smith's and you're paying for that, but a little bit
(22:19):
and some of your past us. But like, realistically, where
I got to where it's like the hundred and twenty
million dollar contract, like where where's the bread? I just
think he's just like who, where's your guy on the
outside that's making thirty million dollars a year to where
you can't pay Lamargin? Like you know what I'm saying, Like,
where is that? That scenario is not real? Not only
that they they historically have not paid guys big. Remember
(22:39):
Flacco had to play his play his deal out and
when the Super Bowl down in New Orleans against the
San Francisco forty Niners to even get the deal that
he got. They kind of have this matred their Yeah,
we'll pay a little bit. Like even Patrick McQueen wark
Smith that you mentioned, they they don't have these mega
deals that we've seen some other defensive players signing. So
(23:00):
you're right, where is the money, But historically they just
don't pay big two players period. Like what was ray
Lewis's I would love to I would love to know that, Ethan.
What if you could really quick and you look that up, man,
What's what was ray Lewis's biggest contract? And he's their
biggest name and biggest icon player in the history of
their franchise. So if they weren't paying him mega dollars
(23:20):
are matching other linebacker and defensive player top money back
then then there would be no way in the world
that I would think that he would They would pay
Lamar Jackson and they did it. But trust me, they're
gonna pay for that, guys. They're gonna pay for not playing.
He's done. If I were him, I'd never take another
snap again. As uh as the Baltimore Rivers quarterback. I'll
tell you what I'm looking at. Steve Smith, Mike Robinson
(23:42):
and Uh. I think that's Maurice Jones drew over there
bundled up. Uh in an Orchard Park, Buffalo right now
as the Bills and the Dolphins about talk about that game,
which is the second, but first he to Segre let
us know everything else going on in the world of sports, Steve,
what's trending in Buffalo? Reason a chance of snow tonight
kickoff at eight fifteen pm Eastern Time for the Bills,
(24:04):
winners of four straight hosting my Animi, which has lost
its last two of the Bills can clinch a playoff
birth tonight. The Cleveland game finished in the snow, and
the Browns beat Baltimore thirteen to three. The Ravens were
tied for first with Cincinnati and the a f C North.
The last game of the Ravens year will be at Cincinnati.
As for the Browns. In this victory, Nick Chubb twenty
(24:24):
one carries ninety nine yards. On the other side for
the Ravens, JK. Dobbins on only thirteen carries, had a
hundred twenty five yards rushing. And then there was the
Minnesota win today in overtime, the comeback to beat Indianapolis
thirty nine thirty six, Vikings clinched their division title. Minnesota
trailed at halftime thirty three nothing and thirty six seven
late in the third quarters, so this was statistically the
(24:46):
largest comeback for a win in league history. The Steelers
will start quarterback Mitch Drabisky tomorrow Pittsburgh's at Carolina. Kenny
Pickett is out with a concussion. As for college football,
six bowl games, including in l A Fresno States victory
over Washington State to six. Oregon State, ranked fourteenth, dominated
the Las Vegas Bowl against Florida thirty to three. At
(25:08):
the Fenway Bowl in Boston, Louisville down Cincinnati twenty four
to seven, and there is a game in progress halftime
Southern Miss seventeen three over Rice. Coming up SMU versus
b y U, and still almost a couple hours away.
It's Boise States against North Texas in the NBA. In
l A today, the Clippers beat Washington one ninety three
(25:29):
Kawhi Leonard with thirty one points. There's a game in
Mexico City right now. That's mid fourth quarter with the
Miami Heat leading the Spurs ninety one. Jimmy Butler twenty
one points. In college hoops, number one per Du in
action at home and only leading Davidson for thirty nine
with about twelve minutes left. In New York City, it's
u C l A ahead of Kentucky thirty eight thirty
(25:51):
six with about sixteen minutes to go. Earlier in New
York in overtime, North Carolina defeated Ohio State eight eight
four Kansas b to Indiana. Today, free agent shortstop dance
By Swanson is leaving the Braves for the Cubs in
a seven year deal, and reportedly the Dodgers. You're signing
d H J. D. Martinez to a one year contract
or reminder of the World Cup Final tomorrow morning on
(26:13):
Fox TV ten am Eastern time. Back to you, Wow,
World Cup going up against NFL kickoff. Huh should be
over before it will be Eastern Okay, Okay, okay, thanks,
good night. Game in Who you got? Who you got?
Steve France defending champion. That's a great team. That's a
great team. I'm going I've been a messy fan for
(26:33):
fifteen years and if he's special, obviously they can win it. Yeah,
if he's special, you're right, But I think I think
this is this is his crowning moment. We're gonna see
history tomorrow. I love that France team two men, just
like you do. But I think tomorrow Messy closes the
door on his historic career you never wanted. Amazingly, you'll
be shocked to find this out. I own one sports
jersey and it's a Barcelona Messy. It's not Barcelona Messi.
(26:56):
It is the France and Bob jersey France, and I
got it on sale. I didn't realize that they have
stars for each like World Cup on the jersey that
they went. Apparently I got the older version when they
won the most recent one star one star on mine,
and everybody was like, oh, this is the old version.
I was like, okay, well it's new to me though. Man,
(27:16):
you watch that guy play Man. When he takes off,
it looks like he's shot out of a cannon. He's amazing.
That's the last World Cup. They had one play in
game where they clocked him at like twenty two miles
an hour running twenty three. It was just ridiculous. So
that's that's. You know, we had the whole thing about
the last I didn't really care too much about the
World Cup, so Jenny Taff told me that like if
there's a team to root for. She told me this
four years ago over them, man, she said, it's a
(27:38):
team to root for, it's France, and it's in Bob
because he's seven. He's like, he was like, I don't
know how old he was then seventeen and he's like.
She was like, he's gonna be around forever, so just
you know, tag on him now and then that'll be
he's like the lebron of this deal going forward. And
I was like, all right, cool, and seems like she
was right, So appreciate you, j T. Thank you. But
(28:00):
right now, to a to zero and three in his
career in sub fifty temperatures. Does that involve the game
in the Los Angeles last weekend, because because it might
have been und so, I don't I wonder if that
involves that or they deemed so figh an outdoor I
mean an indoor stadium, which it is, but also as
rain delays. I don't know. It's confusing, but anyway, let's
(28:20):
talk about this right here, right now, the ball, the
Bills and the Dolphins in a game that is uh
imperative for the a f C East. Yes, absolutely, and
I won't be a fan tonight. It's real. Watch what
I'm about to site. Just I know this is audio medium,
but VJ is wearing a Miami Dolphins sweatshirt with orange,
(28:43):
the Dolphins orange. But I don't know if they have
to make that other kind of orange for anything else
under So he's got the aqua and orange on him.
So we'll see. Take it all with a grain of salt,
our grain of dolphins. But what I will say is
I I'm the kind of guy in sports you have
to prove it to me. If I've never seen it before,
if I've never seen you do it before, yes, there
is a possibility you can do it. There is always
(29:05):
a percentage of you being able as a team to
accomplish something. I didn't believe that the Kansas City Royals
could win a World Series until I saw them win one.
Now I go all right, yeah, now I know they
can win one. Stay with the bosson rest, SOX say
with Chicago comes. I've never seen the Dolphins in my
life of being a fan of their's win a snow game.
Now it's not snow and it's just really cold. They
got all the snowf but yeah, it's coming later to night.
(29:27):
But it's been blizzard and snow in there. That lake
has been blown out of snow in there the last
two days, so they got it all off the field,
so it's not technically a snow game is not snowing.
But I've never seen them really go up the Buffalo
in my entire life and win these cold weather games. Therefore,
I'm not picking them to win tonight. If I were Miami,
what I would do, well, stay safe with this game.
You still have the Packers winnable, the Patriots winnable, and
(29:50):
the bumass Jets. We're gonna win that game too, and
finished out eleven and six and go to the playoffs.
No one picked you to win the division anyway, so
Buffalo is gonna go win the division. That's fine. You
finish eleven and six. Listen, guys, that is a maya
mental leap for this coach to the franchise off of
what they came off of last year, the previous years
with Florence, the civil lacks all that stuff to come
(30:11):
in with the new coach and go to the playoffs
at eleven and six. Now, I will say this, if
you want to go try to win this game, you
have to change the offense. They're on to us, okay,
and that's just real. They're onto everything over the middle.
So you gotta throw it out to the flats now,
and the running game's got to get going. I honestly
believe whoever runs the ball for the most yards tonight
will win this football game. Neither one of these teams
run the ball well, but I do believe Buffalo is
(30:33):
more equipped to run it because they have Josh Allen
and we don't. I like the nipping game. I don't
think it's a blow out. I think the defense has
been playing well. Christian Wilkins a name to watch for tonight.
He has been on a tear guys as a defensive tackle.
He leaves all defensive tackles and tackles this year like
QUB pressures. The man has been playing out of his mind.
But if I'm being real, I I don't think they
(30:54):
get this one a night because I've just never seen
him go up there when it's freezing and winning Buffalo
on my whole only once with Jimmy Johnson, only one
time Toorell Buckley had to pick six the end of game.
That's the only time we've ever gone up there when
it's up thirty degrees and won a football game. So
I'll go with Buffalo on this one to night. Yeah,
I like Miami to keep it close. I like Miami
to keep it close. I would not be shocked if
they win this game out right, in part because I
(31:17):
think what you've seen in the last two weeks, well,
I should say this. If you take the last the
whole entire season in Miami's offense, you said they haven't
been able to run the ball. Well, I think that's
I don't I think that might be a little overblown.
I think that they have some injuries and obviously when
they had that stretch without the quarterbacks that you know,
the the offense is not going to be nearly as dynamic,
right when you have two of their who didn't play
(31:37):
well last week or last two weeks. Really, but I mean, ultimately,
like we said, like I said told you a few
days ago off the air, he was getting the job
done right even if you had, even if you had
uh misgivings about him, it's impossible to say he wasn't
delivering the ball on Timeta receivers. And that's kind of
what has fallen off in the last two weeks so,
but I think in this game now, Jeff Westling Jr.
(31:59):
Being out are uh does give me a little bit
of cause for concern. But Buffalo's offense hasn't looked the
same since Josh Allen and as you see Ell injury, right,
and I get that this is gonna be a big, windy,
uh cold probably snow game. To me, if I Mike
meet Daniel and I see the way that my offense
(32:19):
has worked in the last two games, I gotta come
back and re established some type of running game. I
have to. And then, especially when you look at the
Chargers game, in which I felt that it kind of
felt like maybe Mike mc daniels was watching a little
bit too much at S one and wanted to make
sure that to got every opportunity to go out there
and show that it was better justin Herbert instead of
(32:41):
going and winning the game. I think that's how you
end up with fourteen and complete passes in the first half, right,
how he was slinging all over the place in the
first quarters, like, dude, run the football. Yeah, you know,
I think that's how you end up with, you know,
fourteen and completions in the first half, that's a lot, right,
that's a fourtune. It completes for a game, which to me,
that's kind of ridiculous. Right. So if and then also
(33:03):
if you're two for eleven, how do you get the
three for seven team? Right? You see, that's that's kind
of the thing that gives me. How seven more pass
before we completed? So I think that he'll come back.
And you see Tyreek Hill, Yeah, he had a little
bit of a foot thing looked like at the end
of the last game. I think the Dolphers come out
of here, try to possess the ball, try to run
the ball, and I think that may work against the
team in Buffalo that does not have an established running game.
(33:26):
The running game is the quarterback, and and the quarterback
has not been playing that that I mean prior to
the Detroit game, right where they went to Detroit, he
was in the top two of the m v P
came and now he's just plummeted from that point. And
it's not because he's playing terribly, you know, it's just
he just has not played. He's not. But for the
(33:47):
Buffalo Bills to be at their peak, he's got to
be the superman. He's been playing like you know, say,
I don't know who the junior superhero is, like the
Flash or something not quite super like Robbing has been,
rob has been. If you're in a bad spot, you
know what I'm saying, You'd rather have robing robbing. But ultimately,
if I could get Batman, then if you can prow
(34:09):
up again Superman, I really feel that much better about.
But not not only that, I will also tell you
this about tonight's game. The Dolphins, they must do two things.
They must not turn the ball over, and they gotta
take the ball away at least once get the ball
away from that offense, run the football chief that offense
on the sideline for the Buffalo Bills, because all it
takes is for Digs to get loose ones, Gay Davis
(34:30):
to get loose ones, and the momentum just starts and
and Miami has done well against momentum early in the
year and okay, the middle of the year, but the
last two weeks they have not done well against momentum.
When it starts to roll against them is when you
start to see the lead open up and you start
to see the game changed from there. So turn don't
turn the ball over, get to turnover run the football
tonight and which I think it's close, but I just
never seen him do it, so I can't pick him.
(34:51):
No one tell you what. This game probably be much
better played inside. Get to that in the next break.
Uncle Vj's corners coming up. You know I was doing
a little bit of math. Your vanilla brods other week
is a little bit of a curse. I don't know. No,
you're only talking about one guy. You're only talking about
one tweet. Okay, we'll get to what. We'll get to it.
(35:12):
I'm gonna get to it. Coming up next Foxwords Radio. Hey,
what's up everybody? It's me three time pro bowler Lavarrington,
and I couldn't be more excited to announce a podcast
called Up on Game? What is Up on Game? You asked,
along with my fellow pro bowler t J. Hudshman's otta
and Super Bowl champion. That's right, Plexico Birds. You can
(35:33):
only name a show with that type of talent on it.
Up on Game We're going to be sharing our real
life experiences loaded with teachable moments. Listen to Up on
Game with Me LaVar Arrington, t J. Hudgman's Outa and
Plexico Birds on the I Heart Radio app, Apple Podcast
or wherever you get your podcast. From the time we
(35:56):
got the Bills and the Dolphins getting ready to start
just a little bit after the top of the hour.
But now now we got Uncle Vj's corner. All right, everybody,
gather round. It's that time of the week. Oh man,
it's that time of the day. I've been telling you all, man, Yes,
it's time for everyone's favorite uncle. And you add the
(36:18):
cherry on the top. It's time for Uncle v J's corner. Yes,
said Uncle v J in the building. Happy holidays to
all of y'all. Man, boys and girls, ladies and gentlemen,
come right over here and sit down on this bench
on the corner with me. Man, I want to tell
you all about a gentleman that I'm gonna give another
gift to that doesn't know me. Last week I said,
I want to be more giving in the holiday season.
(36:40):
I don't need know it for Christmas. And lets somebody
gonna get me a jet. If you can't get me
a jet, I'm cool. Man. Anything to say Miami Dolphins
on it, I y'all give me that. A's cool. Other
than I don't need nothing. I'm gonna give out gifts, man,
to people that don't even know I exist. They don't
even know me said this week, I want to give
out another award to someone that has no idea who
the hell I am. Let's go back to Michigan State,
where the gentleman started his college quarterbacking career. They went
(37:01):
on to the NFL, and all the guy's ever done
is exhibit the three seeds that I tell y'all it
takes to be a Vanello Brother of the Week. You
gotta stay cool, you gotta be calm, and you gotta
be collected man. And that's all this gentleman has done, y'all.
Remember when he was with Washington. You like that? You
like that? You guys know who I'm talking about by now,
because he bet on himself back then. He didn't worry
(37:23):
about the harsh Washington d C media saying that he
sucks and he's no good and he can't play, no
never lead a team to do nothing. Oh he does,
just keep betting on himself, taking a one year guaranteed deal.
When you're guaranteed deal, when you're guaranteed. The man is
made over a hundred forty million dollars and guaranteed money
just by being himself and staying with the three seeds.
He then goes on to Minnesota, and we know what
(37:43):
was going on there with that head coach and staff,
and then they said, you know what, we're gonna get
rid of this guy. No we're not yet, we are.
No we're not know we are. Now. You got him
in place. You gotta coach in place. You gotta running
back in place, you gotta wide receiver in place. Got
a good young defense and place in a veteran evens
a back that is busting his hump out there, helping
the young guys understand how you play in the NFL.
(38:05):
And all he keeps doing is going up against an
Rogers in the NFC North and losing and losing and losing.
And then he continues to exhibit the three sees. And
this year it all finally starts to clip for my man,
Kirk Cousins. I've been telling y'all for years, I don't
understand where everybody hates this guy. Only doesn't throw thirty
touchdown passes in less than eleven ten last year, seven
(38:25):
only interceptions per year, with four thousand passing yards. I
don't understand why you guys don't like this guy. Man,
I'll tell you this when he's on the plane with
no shirt on with the chains on doing the dance. Hey,
that's one of the coolest white dudes with a bunch
of chains on I've ever seen in my life. I
loved it. I loved it. He's one of the coolest
I ever seen in my life. I loved it. But
I'm giving this award this week. Man, after the greatest
come back in NFL history today, down thirty three, nothing
(38:47):
to come back and win and overtime is the Indianapolis
cost the quarterback of the Minnesota Vikings this week, Mr
kirk Cousins, you are the vanilla brother of the week
week week week, Yes, sir, how's that too far? Man?
I can't say he was one of the cooles white
dudes with a bunch of chances on I ever seen before.
You like Eminem? Right? First of all, No, you don't
(39:09):
like Eminem. No, I said, kirk Cousins didn't look like Eminem.
I didn't say he looked like Eminem. I like Eminem,
But kirk Cousins, Kirk Cousins ain't look he didn't hold
on he didn't look cool on the jet. Guys, he
didn't look cool on the jet with the chains on
doing it for I meant to have that, but I
want to take this next minute and a half and said,
you wanted a jet for Christmas? Have you seen the
(39:30):
Pepsi where's my jet? No? Check it out. That's on
the Hulu and Netflix. I can't remember. But long story short,
there was an ad you probably remember it. Pepsi had
an AD and you could turn in your Pepsi points
and get cool things in return. Well, one of them
landed in front of the school and it was like
a Harrier jet right and for like for like eight
million Pepsi points or whatever. And then this guy, you know,
(39:51):
two people got together and said, all right, well this
is what it would do to to to gardener up
to Pepsi points to get enough. And they reached out,
they got enough Pepsi points and then went back. And
then I remember this commercial. This was like back when
I was like at the Scholastic book fair age that
this commercial came out, So I was a right around
that that that that time period. But I just bring
all that up to say, you know, I know you
(40:12):
have military training I don't know if you ever flown
a jet before, but I saw a video on Twitter also.
I was thinking about this about a guy who tried
to land a jet and ended up doing like a
three sixties spin around. I'll tweet this out at Martin White,
but he just made me think that a jet seems
like a very complicated mode of transportation that somebody can
I'm not gonna fly to jet, Martin. I want a
(40:33):
private jet to travel that somebody else is gonna fly.
I'm gonna be sitting in the back eating Krispy Kream
donuts and watching cartoons. What my kids? That's how you
can tell where my head is, because I wouldn't fighter jet.
Who do I look like Maverick Doude? What are my goose?
Who was the black dude? Sun down? Sun Down? I
don't know about that, but that if that was the case,
more people have something to say about that. Okay, that's
(40:57):
had one black guy down, going up and got jacked
off by Tom Cruise. Coming up next, we'll get bored too.
The bills that the Dolphs game. Martin and VJ, Fox
Sports Radio, Fox Sports Football Saturday. That's right, Martin and
VJ broadcasting live from the Tirac dot com studios. Tirac
dot com, we'll help you get there with an unmaxed selection,
fast free shipping, and free road as a protection, and
(41:20):
over ten thousand recommended installers. Tirac dot com is the
way tied buying should be. And uh, you know, I
try to make a tired joke out of here, and
you know what I will right here? Giants in the
Washington Commanders of New York Giants and Washington Commanders, the
loser of that game is gonna need some new tires.
They'll be going home for the playoffs. Although somehow this
is a playoff implication game. If you told me at
(41:41):
the start of this season that the Washington Commanders and
the New York Giants would be playing the week before
Christmas for a game with major, major NFC playoff couple cases,
I would have told you you're a liar. But you
know what VJ. They are Na, they are man, and
this game is huge and I think the winners out,
I mean the winners in, the losers out. Whoever loses
this game is out. And that tie, remember they just
(42:01):
tied a few weeks ago. Now watching the Commanders are
ahead of them. They're also favorite at home for this
game too, And Uh, putting Robinson and running back has
just been a brilliant move. Younger kid. He mean, he's
the study I was gonna take over Antonio Gibson anyway, right,
That's why they drafted him at Obama. Those running backs
are all coming into the league with their receivers and
balling in the NFL, so they've they've entrinched him as
the starter. They're getting a bulk of the carries. Uh,
(42:23):
this is just a good old sluck fest NFC East game.
I grew up in the d n V. I've seen
hundreds of NFC East games and there they never disappoint.
This game will be physical, this game will be hard fault.
I think Vegas has the over under somewhere around like
forty points. I believe is where this game sits, so
they think that it's it's right at forty. So they
(42:43):
think that both teams are scoring under. Uh, one of
the only ones going over twenty unless it's just a blowout.
So I like this game to be tight, man. And
I think the winner is in and I think the
loser is out. And of course we'll have our bets
and stuff, and I'll tell you who my pick is
later on, but Commanders right now, I saw this morning
five point favorites to win this game and the Giants
are Team Martin. That I I didn't want to say
it wasn't real because when you're winning, you just have
(43:06):
to take to win. I'm not a guy who's like, oh,
whenever played anybody? Well, they played everybody else that everybody
else is playing guys. They played the same teams that
other teams have played and have lost and of beaten too.
So I hate that argument early in the year, but
it is starting to show that maybe they didn't have
a lot of quality wins. And now that Daniel Jones,
you know they're they're just trying to get through this
season with with Danny Dimes. I don't know why people
(43:26):
call him Danny Dimes because Dimes means that you're dropping
the ball right in where it needs to be, and
he don't never do that. So I don't know how
to hell. It's like playoff PG was the playoff, Paul,
you don't do not in the playoffs? How are you
play offs? However? For Vanilla vic Uh, that's say Kwan
Barkley gave to him because Daniel Jones is a running quarterback.
He called him Vanilla vy did I mean, first of all,
(43:48):
that a copyright infringement on me, So we gotta check that.
I'll call him. I'm gonna call my people when we
don't go ahead. Well, yeah, let's copyright infringement. I'm not
only vanilla. I'm the only Vanilla. I'm the only Vanilla.
I don't know if you ever moved like vic though. Yeah. Well,
and then to the pointed Daniel Jones, and then why
the hell is he Vanella vic? Because he runs better
than the throw. That's pretty much all it boils down to.
(44:11):
When I watched this game, I'm gonna be thinking one thing, Damn,
this Giant's offensive looks so much better with Lamar Jackson
at the quarterback. Oh well, big market, they got the money.
I mean, I just and it's kind of like my
favorite thing to do over the last is that where
you're picking, that where you would like to see Lamar's
picking is a whole different thing. But I just think
(44:32):
that in that offense, when you look at what when
you look at what Daniel Jones is doing in the
earlier part of the year, when you look at what
Josh Allen did with with Brian Dale wallas is coach.
I just think that Lamar Jackson would be the final
form of that. You know what I'm saying. I think
that I'm not that's very interesting. I didn't think about
that team. I just there's some other teams I have
in mind, But that's one team you bring up right
there that makes me go wow. And I think the Giants,
(44:54):
I think they got a real good uh situation going
on right now. They've won a ton of games for
or a team that was not expected to do very
well this season. And then when you also when you
look at the way the way that they've won games,
they've won close, tight games, and they've won because of
the way that they've the way they've called these games
and the reason why they're winning them. Right. And it's
(45:15):
not just like we were just talking about the Ravens
and how they run on high school offense. Well, the
New York Giants are not. The New Yord Giants are
scheming their way into wins right now because they don't
have the top end talent and something I mean, I
mean it's smart enough to feast, say quad a bunch
of this year because he was leading Russia at one point.
But I mean some of these I mean, when you
look at the Giants starting roster, a lot of these
guys are signed off of practice squads from other team,
(45:38):
you know what I'm saying. So like the idea that
they're there are a little bit of a tail slide,
I understand it, But this roster wasn't one that was
super talented in the first place. And to be totally honest,
had the Giants go on something crazy like tenant seven
or you know, or I should say ten and one
or something on that run, then it would have been
probably for the worst for the Giants because you don't
want to reinvest in what they got going on right
now anyway, Like you like the coaching staff, but you
(46:00):
want to upgrade some of these positions, and you know,
winning but they have will make that harder to do so, right,
because he'll be like, well, he so well and well
the first thing they have to attack is the offensive
line in the receivers. Now, remember Canarritony was the first
round draft pick that didn't work out at all and
then Gala Day they gave him seventy plus million that
didn't work out at also two big Swings and mrs
(46:22):
former regime. Yeah exactly. But but you're saying they have
to fix that is what I'm saying. You're saying they
need to go get some more guys, get some different guys.
That's one position they have to go after. But I
also think that this is Danny's last time. Uh, these
last five games, I think these are the last moments
as a New York Giant. You do have to go
get a new quarterback. And now that you've opened the
(46:42):
door up to Lamar Jackson, Wow, that's that intrigues me
because you're right. You put him up there in New York.
They'll pay him the money. He'll get all other types
of money from endorsement deals and sponsors and all that
other stuff going on in New York. You'll be on
big billboards in Times Square at the Baltimore's Cold, but
it's not New York City. And uh, say Kwon Barkley
(47:03):
at the running back position, the guy he could turn
a hand the ball to. They're still gonna have to
go get him weapons though. But he also did say
he does not want to be in a run based off.
He wants to be able to throw the football and
be trusted to improve and throw the football. He just
does not want to be worn out. Man. He say
how much muscle he's put on the last two year.
He got one of them thick eighties fullback next now,
like the fullbacks back in the eighties, them next them
(47:24):
dudes next man was like dogs back then. He's got
one of them next now. And I don't think that
he wants that, but he knows the offense he's in,
and it's the Black and Blue Division with the Bengals.
The Bengals are the Bengals, the Browns and the Steelers
where it's really physical. Man. I just like that. I
just I just that's intrigued. But with the Giants, Um,
I don't think they win this game tomorrow. I guess
I just game I pick away, but I don't think
they win, and I think they're in. It tells him
(47:46):
because like you said, they just don't have the Jimmy's
and Joe's and they're gonna work on that this offseason
and replace a lot of guys. Yeah, but I do ultimately,
I would feel no matter how this turns out, I
feel great if I was a Giants fan. Really yeah,
I mean, I think I got a coach right in
the quarterback though. But if I'm but but if I'm
the Giants and I've been sitting there with the with
(48:06):
with Ben McAdoo and and and and and and and
just the I mean just going back down the line,
Joe Judge, like this is an organization that had their
quarterback doing a quarterback sneak on their own goal line
on third down to get more. I mean what I'm
saying like that's embarrassing, you know what I'm saying, Like,
if I'm the Giants right now, I'm a Giants fan,
I guess I can hang my hat on and and
(48:28):
Brian day Ball and then the way that he's scheming
up this offense, and I don't if I'm a Washington
Commanders fan though, this game is huge because we gotta
win now, the Commandery to win, right. I was saying
the Commanders their situations, their situation as it stands with
McLarin They got a ton of town on the team,
especially on all the edges and then some of the
(48:49):
defensive town. They got a ton of talent on that team.
You feel like you've got your at this point in time,
either you feel like you got your guy in Heiney, key,
are you completely out on him? But I think the
way that they're running gotta feel like you got your child.
You're good on the coach. The coach is fine. I'm
not to me, he's safe. No, I'm saying I think.
I'm not saying that. I'm not saying there's gonna be
immediate renifications for not winning. Now. I'm saying, if they're
(49:10):
the Commanders, the way your team is set up with
Chase Young coming back off ir right now like this,
like you can make a push right now, and you
have been making a push right now through the last
few weeks of the season up into the bye, right
to make this run and take the Remember the Giants
were the field good team was start of the year,
and Ron Rivera was saying that quarterback was the problem
(49:30):
for this commander's team. Straight up, he said, it's straight up,
straight up, and then two weeks later it's straight up.
Two weeks later, Taylor Heineke runs out there and what
did they do? Not lose? I got you and I
both like you and I both talked about how guy
and I liked the wins. To man, I pulled for
wins I really did, because you just remember how good
he was before the A c L. You can't just that.
(49:52):
That can't leave my brain. But recent years has shown
me he's just been good. He used to be great,
Now he's just good, and now he could just be average.
As far as orderback goes for Washington, I like Heineke,
but if you can go and get a stud at
a college, or you can go and get a free agent,
there's gonna be a bunch of quarterbacks available on free
agencies agency this year that have proven more than Heineke.
(50:13):
Then you go get him and you make them compete.
I don't know if Heineke is a future franchise. I
don't think that he is. But if I'm the commanders,
this guy went toe to toe Tom Brady, and since
then I have been trying like hell to replace him.
I've been trying. I've been running all types of quarterbacks
(50:34):
and he can't do it and they can't do it.
So at this point, I'm like, yeah, I'm gonna stick
with the devil. I know, Okay, So I was gonna say,
so do you keep trying or at this point you say,
you know what, let's put resources to other places and
maybe if we surround this guy with enough he can
get to because we're getting to the playoffs with him,
maybe we get a playoff. And so I think that's
why if you're the Commanders, this game is huge. This
(50:56):
game could be an organizational type of of of how
we how do we move forward from here? Type of game?
You know what I'm saying, like like to really like
the Giants that we know the plan for the Giants,
they're extecuting it perfectly. Have a good feeling about how
you're gonna lose ten games this year. I haven't feel
good about losing eleven games, right, That's how the Giants.
It's probably was gonna like more than likely outcome for
(51:19):
the New York Giants here. But the Commanders, I feel
like they got think got McLaren John Dotson's a rookie obviously,
but they have their their skill players Gibson that they're
not really good skill players that are coming up on
hurt out all the year also, but they're coming up
on new deals. Though they're coming they're they're gonna lose
some of these guys. You gotta try to do something
(51:40):
here to like be like, all right, well this is
gonna be our foundation of our teams. You got some
front office stuff as some owners owner stuff going on too, man,
So I feel you, I don't. I don't know if
it's I don't know if it's that dire, because, like
I said, I think if you get some guys back,
you went tomorrow and you push on through the rest
of the season. After tomorrow, they have the Niners, which
I don't know if they can go out there and
when I think they can be tough and physical and
(52:01):
make it a game, I'm not sold on partie that
the Browns, and then they have the Cowboys. I don't
know how an a f C team got mixed in there,
So like, who these schedule makers? What the hell? Why
are the Browns playing the Commanders in week seventeen to
opposite conference. Stop it, y'all need to fix that. Stop
playing with me people. And then the Cowboys to finish
it off. So I like them to make the playoffs.
I think they will. I think you and I both agree.
(52:23):
This division gets three teams in. I someone would have
to completely fall apart for the Giants to get in.
But I think if the Giants loses this game tomorrow,
that mails it in for them. But I just don't
think it's as dire as you think it is. As
far as washing, I think they're fine right now. Let's
let's let's get some guys. Just I just see the pathway.
Because you lose this game, you're not making the playoffs,
(52:43):
and then that opens up all these questions for next
year that now we're gonna have to be answered by.
Like you said, whoever is going to be the owner
of this team, if Daniel Snyder ever sells it? Got
a lot going on. There's a lot of turmoil right now.
It's gonna be dark and walks kicking the screaming Daniel,
I need it, well, I needed Daniel be dirty with it.
(53:05):
Daniel's absolutely what's happening uh in in Washington. But coming
up and just a little bit, we'll get to more
of this bills. The office game is gonna kick off
in just a minute. We have all types of Sunday
slate is packed, even though we had a good Saturday
slate and a good Thursday game. Okay, so we're we
have been in place for some good football. But more nervous. Bro.
(53:27):
You see, I thought you were chaking because I'm I'm
I'm saying here, I'm tapping. I'm actually really nervous for
this game. Man. I'm excited for it, but I'm nervous
for it. Man. I just love the fact that we
get the opportunity to be here on the radio and
watch I mean, and and much better than being there.
Laura Oakman right now is frozen solid on. She's got
(53:49):
she has more, she has multiple layers of fur. I'll
just say that she has fur a jacket for I mean,
I bet fresh. You know what I'm saying, right, well,
right when you tell you something out the friends, what
is it fresh? You know what I'm saying, It's frozen,
frozen cold. But coming to next we'll get to the
top of this Dolphins Bill's game and more from the
Sundays like Martin and VJ Fox Sports Radio. Martin and VJ,
(54:11):
Fox Sports Radio. Hopefully I get VJ and Gage this
Dolphins game picked out and kicked off, and all of
a sudden it's been eyes locked in on the Miami Dolphins.
We do got another hour and a half left of
this bad boy. Hey man, listen, you already know how
it gets down from working late Michigan games with me.
I'm gonna go home. I'm gonna pull out some cookies
and some Daddy egg knock. You know, Daddy eggnog is
(54:32):
this time of year, and I'm gonna start this game
over from the beginning, so because I want to watch
it all the way through. Here the commentary to whole
not so yeah, as I'm locked in. I'm still locked
in here, baby, Come go home and watch this again
anyway from the beginning. I don't know why you are.
Normally will watch with almost if the volume is not off,
I'll probably have something else listening. I don't listen to
the commentary. I can't. I can't. I gotta hear it.
I used to. I gotta hear the foolishness. I gotta
(54:54):
hear the Shenanigans, man, because I argue or I like
to see how much I can predict and how far
head I am of, especially the color guy. When special
play calls or situations for games, I'll be quick to say, hey,
watch the safety overtop and watched the slot right there.
This is a great time for a quick a quick
out from the slot, and if it happens, it makes
me feel like, Okay, I can do this, man. I
know what the hell I'm doing. I know what I'm
(55:15):
talking about. So no, I mean I had the same,
but after a while I just had to turn it
off because not just telling myself arguing with him that's
fun though, man, right, your neighbors are like, dude, did
you have people over? We heard you watching the game?
Did you have people over? And I'd be like, nah,
it was just me. Bro Like, no, dude, I heard
you argue with somebody Like no, you didn't. You heard
me yelling at the TV and arguing with the commentator's brother.
(55:36):
Nobody was over watching the game. Well, I know, it's
just uh, it's just it's just something that they just
say so much. Shut up. But you know what the
problem when there's people that guys don't like and tweet
a lot about, I never know why the wind everybody goes,
oh that guy sucks. That guy sucks. Honestly, in my head,
I'm like, dude, why, I don't know what you're talking.
All he's doing is his stalin calling the game. So
(55:58):
I don't know. I guess I don't know what sucked
it is as far as a color guy or a
play by, Like, I know a lot of people that
don't like certain dudes. I'm like, dude, he calls a
great game to me, I don't understand. I never like
our dislike a guy. Maybe that's just me though, No,
that's but also that's why I just turned the volume
off because that I don't you know, I like us Johnson,
I love I love listening to Gus him and him
and Pratt how class gives me? Him and Joe clapp Man. Wow,
(56:18):
what are you talk about listening to a college football
game those two guys. Yeah, price of a mission. So
did you speaking to hearing? Did you hear what Michael
Parsons had to say? Do you know what on the
Von Miller pod? Do we have this sound by chance? Okay,
let's hear it. Look at the Eagles as it hurts
for the team. I think it's a little bit of
both man. I think it's I think it system and
(56:43):
I think it's a little bit of both man. Because
they got a great deal. They got a great offensive
line which helps Hurts. Hurts has a J. Brown and
DeVonta Smith. They got a good running game. Sends the
sky skin that they have old line. I mean, bro
like like at his Eagle Cowboys, the Eagle Cowboys coming up,
(57:06):
and yeah it's coming on. I'm not I'm not trying
to make no enemies. I just like, I just love
the game so much and I understand it so much
that like I can't, I like, I like when things
are off, I just can't like hold it in. Like
I almost got to say something like they got they
got a great team, great deal. Everyone. Everyone has their
own opinions, like, but they got so so first of all,
(57:28):
Michael Parsons, you know, I get it to law football
of a fashion for it, and you gotta feel like
he gotta say something. Maybe some say that on the
podcast on Feature Report that gets to seminated everywhere, and
you played Dally Hurts in two weeks. But I tend
to agree with him, but it's not necessarily like I'm
not and I that's the clip that we heard from him, right,
So I don't I didn't listen to the entire hour
(57:50):
long podcast, so I don't know if something at some
other point, if he if this was a topic that
was a fifteen minute long conversation, an hour long conversation,
or three minute long conversation like a couple of the
tuple seconds that we just heard, I saw he did
respond to it, and and uh and his uh after
press he messed up. Well, he knew it made a
lot of noise. Uh. But ultimately, I don't think it's
(58:14):
is a slight to Jalen Hurts to say that he
has a ton of talent around him, because here's the thing.
When we look at all these other quarterbacks with a
ton of talent around them, we're not sitting there saying
like like we're sitting there saying, can you get it done?
Can you get it done? Like you know, like you
just talked about why do people hate on Kirk Cousins,
(58:34):
It's because of all the talent that's around him, and
it was seemingly not being able to get the job done.
Jalen Hurts has been playing great this year, but when
you're talking about the most valuable player, it's hard to
have the argument of most valuable when there's so many
other players that of immense value around him. And I
think ultimately that's the point that Michael Parsons was trying
(58:55):
to make, and if it wasn't, that's the point that
I have been making for the last week and a half.
Those points are just wild and ridiculous. Why is it like,
First of all, you guys sound silly because it's almost
so contradictory to what you're saying. When when when Patrick
Mahomes won m v P, no one was saying, well,
it's part him and it's part you know, Tarik Hill
(59:18):
and Travis Kelsey and Andy Reid calling him. No, he
was just celebrated for being the m v P. Why
is it that certain quarterbacks continue to have the go Now,
I'm not saying you just in general, because the fact
that he let's go back to parts for a second,
the fact that he even indulged on this made me
lose a lot of football respectful. I like to get yes, yes, yes, yes,
(59:38):
like you said, easily said, Look man, next question, were paying?
I mean, we're playing, we'll play off. Help you let
me finish. We'll play him and and we'll see what's
up when I get on the field with him. It's
been having a great year. Next question, But to sit there, man,
I mean, you know, is it is it him or
is it the team? Or you guys don't say that
about Joe Montana. Even though Joe Montana played in a
(01:00:00):
system it was called the West Coast Little let me
let me finish, Let me finish it, which means it
was a system. Warren Moon was in the running shoot,
which means it was they're all systems guys, and some
guys just get attached to the coach and they just
make make beautiful football together for years on the offensive
(01:00:20):
coordinator for years and years and years to come, and
we forget that. It is just a system. It's the
same system they've been running, and you try to plug
and play players in that will help them run the system.
We don't go to Aaron Rodgers's m v ps and go, well,
he had Davonte Adams and you know he had a
great running game with Aaron Jones and had a good
We don't do that for him, so why are we
(01:00:41):
doing it? Didn't have a good defense, and he didn't
have a good running He had Aaron Jones. What are
you talking about have a good defense. He didn't have
a good running game. You can go look at Jones
and Jones didn't have a good Jones. That's wrong, that's wrong.
He was he had a great Last time he told
me I was wrong. Somebody tweegies said that cheese have
the best offense in EP. Go ahead, go ahead. Do
(01:01:03):
you do, you'll go wholl go. But we can go
back to that chief think if you want to, because
you guys are still wrong on that. You guys are
still wrong on that. But do not lie all the
guy yet. But they also don't always tell the whole truth.
But they don't lie, but they don't tell off Oh,
but they don't tell the whole listen offense and Jalen
(01:01:24):
Hurts is the reason why this offense is clicking the
way that it's clicking. I actually saw someone tweet and
say that if Garden meant you was in this was
was was running this offense, they'd be the same twelve
and one excuse you? If Garden meant you was that
damn good dude, Why the hell why did they even
draft him? Why didn't even have Jaen? Who said that?
Because I'm not well, I didn't say that. I'll tell
(01:01:48):
you if I'll respond to what I said what I said.
I think that Jalen Hurts being the player that he
is is not some slight to him. It's not some
not to him, but it's just it's that's a back door.
That's a back door, that's a backhand compliment. Yes it
is No, it's you have to say that. If you
have to say that, Mario, then it is because you're
over here screaming your lungs out because I said he's
(01:02:10):
because I said, well, my Dolphins is on them right now. Okay,
all right, well I'm saying there, I'm saying he's the
second best second but in the m v P race,
And all of a sudden, that is some major insult
you're telling me. I'm moving to post who Vegas half
vegan right now? Hurtch is the NBB And like I said,
you should have bet it two weeks ago. No, no,
well you should have been it two weeks ago me
(01:02:31):
and you're gonna be beefing today. Should have better two
weeks ago. Like I said, my Homes was the odds
on favorite. You know what, it's hurt his ward to
lose right now. So we'll see if he loses it
coming up coming up this week, the same way as
my homes is Awards. You know what he dropped in
the man's talking, you know what he actually you know
(01:02:52):
what my Homes did. He scored thirty five points in
the second best defensive football. So I'm out dropped. And
the rankings for m v P. I mean I like
to say to what's happening in sports? Hello. Three NFL
games for this Saturday, including the one at Buffalo Underway.
Each team has had a possession and upon it's Miami
visiting in the cold twenty eight degrees as Buffalo, winners
(01:03:15):
of four straight host this one. Bills are the first
place team in the a f C East. Two games
over the Dolphins snow at the end of the Cleveland game,
a win for the Browns thirteen three over Baltimore Nick
Chubb nine yards rushing. Baltimore had won six of its
last seven after a three and three start to the season.
And Minnesota with the comeback overtime win against Indianapolis to
start to day thirty nine thirty six Minnesota with thirty
(01:03:38):
two first downs in about thirty three minutes time of possession,
the Vikings clinched their division title. The Bikes were down
at halftime thirty three nothing and still won this game.
It was the largest comeback in league history. Six bowl
games in college football coming up in under an hour.
It'll be Boise State against North Texas in Frisco, Texas.
(01:03:59):
The l A Bowl at Fresno State, winning twenty nine
six against Washington State. What a turnaround in season for
the Bulldogs. They started one and four this year finished
with nine straight wins. Fourteenth ranked Oregon State took the
Las Vegas Bowl, dominating Florida thirty to three. In fact,
the Gators had to kick a field goal in the
final minute just to avoid a shutout, something they haven't
suffered since nineteen eighty eight. Louisville took the Fenway Bowl
(01:04:21):
in front of a small crowd twenty four seven against
Cincinnati was twenty one seven Louisville at halftime. In the NBA,
a game in Mexico City has been completed. Miami beat
San Antonio one eleven to one oh one. Clippers today
beat Washington one oh two to ninety three. It'll be
the Wizards tomorrow in l A against the Lakers. Anthony
Davis out for the Lakers with a sore foot. He
(01:04:43):
did not play the second half. Last night. In college hoops,
number one produced State undefeated, beating Davidson sixty nine sixty one.
In New York City. U c l A has defeated
Kentucky sixty three fifty three earlier overtime in New York
as North Carolina down to Ohio State eight four. That
number five rank Houston gotta win at number two. Virginia
(01:05:03):
sixty nine sixty one. Free agent shortstop Dansby Swanson is
leaving the Braves for the Cubs in a seven year
deal worth he reported one hundred seventy seven million dollars.
He is an Atlanta area native. But Swanson just married
US soccer player Mallory Pugh, who also plays for Chicago
in the NWSL. Back to you, thanks Steve from a
(01:05:24):
from a one quarterback to another. First of all, coming
to your life in the diirec dot com studio, it's
just Martin and VJ from Look, we were just debating
Jalen Hurts and Patrick Mahomes and who is the m
v P or not right? And I get that's a
contentious point. At one point that is not contentious. Zach
Wilson is definitely not okay. Zach is definitely and I
think that who I think it was, Zach Wilson is back.
(01:05:46):
Now He's gonna be starting in a game which quite honestly,
we're talking about flexing games. Uh NFL America. The Jets
of the Lines is a real playoff game. A real
game with playoff implications. Let's see that Sunday night. That's
why let's see that Sunday that you got some real studs.
I don't want brown sauce gardener. I get it. Maybe
(01:06:08):
the quarterbacks aren't the sexist. However, these two teams are
really good personality, big personalities, and these two teams are
two of the better teams and their conferences respective conferences
at this point in the game, Um, we'll see it.
But here's the deal. After Mike White, it took not
one but two shots to the ribs, spent the night
in the hospital Monday night, not gonna be going on Sunday.
(01:06:30):
We would be the return of Zach Wilson, which I
no put on the tinfoil hat v J. But conspiracy theory.
Martin says, if Mike White only gets knocked out of
the game once, then Joe Flacco is probably starting this game.
Uh but because well, Let'm saying, like Mike White gets
like the idea that he doesn't get hurt. But when
we have to see Joe Flacco play too many snaps
(01:06:51):
last week, that was what Zach Wilson got inserted back
in the lineup in that moment. Yeah, but not only
that saw his hand is tied. Man, this is still
a top five pick who was supposed to be your
future franchise quarterback, and his hands are tied. And he
almost has to start this kid and bring him back. Kid.
I've been saying since day one, since his turn hip,
the long bomb throw of his pro day, this kid
(01:07:13):
is foods go his kids, fool gaze. He's not a
starting quarterback. He's Johnny Manziel two point oh and only
time is gonna show. And I'll tell you this. They
have a better chance beating him with Flacco than beating
the Alliance with this kid. And I would put money, actually,
I would put money on them winning with Flacco. But
the lines are gonna win this game because you're playing Zack.
Zack Wilson is more interested in my opinion and being
(01:07:35):
popular kind of being a superstar kid. There was the
stuff out about the milf lady and all the other
and that's all cool and fun and everybody loved it.
But Bill Parcel has once left the note for Tony Romo.
As far as how to be a successful NFL quarterback,
Number one on the list was don't go out of
your way to be a celebrity quarterback. And that's what
Zach Wilson does. He goes it seems like he goes
(01:07:55):
out of his way to be a celebrity quarterback. Man,
So I this is rob Coach Solace. Hands are tied.
He had to start this kid, or if his hands
weren't tied, I'm with you, I think he would be
starting Flack. You get flag of a week of preparation
in a week to know what's going on and know
the game plan and then go from there. So um,
you know it is what it is. Though broad the
end of the day, you gotta play the kid because
you drop him in the top five and supposed to
(01:08:17):
be also too. It also happened, is Mike White was
you know, I say this tongue of cheek. Mike White
was never supposed to get hurt because then we would
never know. Yeah, nobody would have realized that Joe Flacco
with the backup well no Flagger played earlier this year.
Though you know what I'm saying is okay, the Flaci
played earlier this year when Zach Wilson got hurt. Oh yeah, okay,
Now Zack Wilson got benched and all of a sudden,
(01:08:39):
Mike White is playing. I don't think I should say that.
I'll speak for myself. I was surprised when I saw
that the backup for the New York Jets was wearing
a five jersey and well, they didn't even and I tweeted,
they didn't even dress. They didn't dress. That's what I'm saying.
That's what I'm saying, because you know that jacket and
the scottlost team is only gonn start three quarterback? Uh
(01:09:01):
play to quarterback? You know they'll they'll bench the they
won't make the third one active? Quick sidebar? Would you
ever dress a third? I would always dress a third.
I don't understand why teams don't. You can lose one
special teams. Guy, I'm dressing three quarterbacks because you're only
two players from needing your third quarterback. To be honest,
I personally think that the NFL should expand the rosters
(01:09:23):
by if that, I think you should. You should be
able to dress three quarterbacks and they're not kind of
against your top fifty three. Okay, it's well, here's the deal. Now.
I agree with him. If if we're gonna do and
I think it's right to do this UH exaggerated or
are accelerated UH concussion protocol. Right. Justin Jefferson, for example, today,
(01:09:44):
took a shot to the head. They took him right
off the field, went into the blue tent. He came
back out being without a concussion, right. And I think
that we've seen that, while not fool proof, that is
a positive in football, right because we saw DeVante Parker
not to hell until Nelson Aglor stopped to play on
third today night. Right, Nelson Aglar stopped to play on
Thursday night to get everybody in UH to get the
(01:10:05):
spotters and get in to get Parker out of the game.
So obviously it's not fixed, right, So I'm in, But
I'm in favor of the idea that Justin Jefferson has
to miss a player too. I'd rather air on the
side of that than air on the side of Justin
Jefferson be out there for a player too with the concussion.
If we're gonna do it this way, however, due to
the violence of what quarterbacks take, I should be able
(01:10:28):
to dress some one more. I think three man and
I like your idea of expanding rosters. I would allow
the NFL if you're adding a game that you gotta
give me more players. I like expanding the roster to
sixty players. I think that's a nice even rounded off number.
Sixty players. And even if you don't want to dress
five of those guys, you still have fifty five guys
stressed out. You can add a third quarterback and add
(01:10:49):
an extra special teams guys. Because we see a lot
of collisions and high impact collisions on special teams where
guys get hurt a lot, you might need an extra
guy or two. So I agree with you with with that,
but I would love to see him dress out three quarterbacks.
But back to Zack and I'll make a quick look.
The guy's not the guy. Okay, He's just he's not.
Ladies and gentlemen, the Jets and Blue this again. They're
gonna have to figure this out moving forward. I will
(01:11:09):
be real and not be a fan right now. This
team's look good this year. Man. Uh. Garrett Wilson is legit.
The receiver from Ohio State, just like Crysal Lovey down
with the Saints is legit. The running backs are legit.
And remember Breeze Hall got hurt and he was on
his way to maybe eleven fifties I thought it was over.
I thought it was over because he was playing that well.
And I like what Solas done with this defense. And
(01:11:32):
I know I've beany nol sauce and and he he
gets really touchy, and he gets really handy, and I
think he gets away with it a lot. But I
can't knock that. The guy's got with five or six sex.
They use them all over the field. This Jets team,
this AFC East ladies and gentlemen, buckle up for the
next two to three seasons. This thing is gonna be
high powered. Everybody's gonna be winning eight, nine, ten games
this division because all fourties seams, even the Patriots are
(01:11:53):
still gonna finish guys with nine ers and wins this
year because Bill Belichick's the coach and he just get
coach football. So but they're gonna have to go out
what they need to do. As far as the quarterback position,
it's concerned with the New York football But as Jets, well,
here's the thing, Zach Wilson is probably gonna start today.
How do you think he plays. I think I have
(01:12:14):
I have no thought to think that he will play well,
right like like I have no thought like here's the
deal with Zach Wilson. I think it was both a
talent and mentality situation, right, Like even if, like even
if his talent wasn't there, Like for example, Jalen Hurts
when he was coming out right he I got Bentford
two or whatever. The question was about his talent, not
his mentality. Right, No one wondered if Jalen Hurts was
(01:12:36):
mentally ability had the mental ability to be NFL quarterback.
It was easyly gonna be able to throw the ball
well enough. And it's proven to be absolutely true right now.
With Zach Wilson. Nobody was questioning his arm strength. Nobody
who's questioned his arm talent? Right is all about it
was everything else. It was everything we saw the hip throw,
you know what you're talking about, the PROD throw we
(01:12:56):
saw it was. We were asking questions about everything, and
as I've seen so far, I have not seen an
answer to one of those questions. Well what you say,
he reminds you of the what the shut up? Shut
up mom? Kid? Like, do do you shut up? We
need that as a sound bite. We need that as
a sound bite. Man shut up, because he does remind
you exactly that's hilarious. But you know what I mean,
(01:13:20):
it was like that's you know what I'm saying is
like maybe that's why you know Mom's sisters or whatever
and see that stuff and see that's the thing, man,
when you're doing stuff like that, you can do Listen,
pimp and pimp and be pimp it. I ain't never
going hat on pimp and being Pippo. But when you're
an NFL quarterback that type of stuff, in my opinion,
you keep a little more quiet, you keep a little
(01:13:40):
more out of the line. Like because with social media,
we see everything. There's no such thing as privacy anymore
in America. Carling Towns. I saw him telling a story
on a podcast. I forget to attribute it. I'm sorry
about that, but he was telling a story on the
podcast of him and Jordan Woods. They're on a boat.
Jordan Woods is like U the Kardashians, right, She's not
a Kardashian Wood, right. Um. So yeah, they're sitting on
(01:14:03):
the edge of the boat and they look up and
he's like, dude, these dudes in jet skis just came
up and took pictures of us. There. It's like somewhere
in the South of France or I don't know Milan
or whoever, who God knows where, but he's doing the desk.
He came up and took pictures up and they were
just like, damn, we just got got Now that's Jordan Woods.
Like I said of the Kardashian so like e Hollywood
(01:14:23):
famous type of of of a woman right at Carl
Liney Town's the number one overall. Pick Zach Wilson. You're you,
you know, you're you. What are we thinking about her?
Coming up next? You know, b JM. We try to
do this every week. Pick the underdogs that you know,
when you go to work on Monday, you're like, how
in the world did this team win? Because Martin and
b J told you they we're gonna win. Go ahead,
(01:14:43):
take some money on this Holidays coming up. We gotta
buy some Christmas presents. Coming up next, Fox Sports Radio,
Martin and VJ Fox Sports Radio on a Fox Sports
Football Saturday. We got the NFL going no uh, some
college bowls going, College basketball going, VJ. You know, maybe
this is why they call it the most Wonderful time
of the year. Yeah, NBA is on, man, I got
(01:15:03):
some NBA games cracking all today, right, here in l A.
The Clippers got a big win. Kauai look like a beast.
Kauai look like I think we're all gonna be made
to look silly about all the Kauai slander we've been doing.
Bro I do well. You know, first we're coming to
your life from the entire ract dot Com studios. But
ultimately it's gonna in order to look silly with the
Kauai slander, he's gonna have to play. He played today,
(01:15:26):
he played today, he played today, but tomorrow is the
new day. He played the day he took twenty six
shots today. Yeah, that's what I'm saying. He took twenty
six shots today. No, And you know, ultimately, uh, the
whole thing with Kauai is so interesting, and it kind
of reminds me of Lamar Jackson in the outside way,
quieter guys in the in the grand scheme of things, right,
(01:15:47):
not necessarily represented, well they're not. They're not looking at me,
but not represented in the same way as by agents
and and and it's more of a in the world
up look at me, Sports world, up, Hey look at me,
Social media, Hey look at me. And I think that Mike,
this is not an original take Mike Florio. Pro Football
Talk had at first about Lamar Jackson, but I think
it also applies to Kauai. When you don't have when
(01:16:07):
you're not a part of the aim the agent industry
complex in sports, you don't have people leaking. The unnamed
leak isn't coming about you, It's coming about somebody else, right,
and so people are left to kind of quote unquote
speculate over what's going on and and Kauai. So I
think it's an interesting thing, is you know, because you
look at a counterposit of like a guy like Lebron
(01:16:30):
is obviously super plugged in everywhere, you know what I'm saying.
So it's like the it doesn't see it. But but
it's it's the opposite of it's just an interesting echoonomy.
But you know what, John, let's get this going right now.
We have uh we've had some NFL games already already
this week, but Sunday Slate still has got some juicy
dogs coming. Let's get to the time of dogs. They
(01:16:53):
may be mean, they may be ugly, but it's time
to open the game because these dogs are gonna keep
parking if they don't get fed. And they're hungry. It's
(01:17:16):
time for the atomic dogs. I'll tell you what, BJ
We tried to do this every week, and I tell you,
if if we had done this yesterday, I would have
put the Miami Dolphins as one of my potential atomic dogs.
Don't do it. Games already started. Well, the games already started.
If you're listening to me right now, the best chance
you got into Live Better. So you know what, go
(01:17:36):
ahead there down four Live Better right now if you're interested.
But I like the Miami Dolphins. And when this thing
out right and what was supposed to be a blizzard,
I don't know, Like I said, man, I can't I
can't ride with that because I just I've never seen
this doing in the cold. But I hope there are
seventy three right now in the first quarter, so we'll
see how the rest of the game goes. My first dog, though,
man is I believe in his team. I actually picked
the quarterback up on like three on my fantasy team.
(01:17:57):
By the way, seventeen twenty one leads this year made
the play off. Yes, I'm like that in fantasy football.
Give me the Jacks at home with the plus four
against the Dallas Cowboys, who should have lost that oh
to the Houston Texas the last week plus, and I
like the over on the forty eight here. Also give
me the jackson as a home dog tomorrow. I'll tell
you this. I also like the jack Wards as a
(01:18:18):
home dog. Everything you just said. But here's the other thing,
Trevor Lawrence, is that his best game of the season
twice this year, all right, and we had four more
games to go. This Doug Peterson thing looks like it's
starting to come together. I know this team just lost
by thirty to the Lines a few short weeks ago,
but you know what happened between now and then. Michael
Parson's guest host on the Von Miller Podcast, I'm going
(01:18:41):
with the Jacksonville jack Wards winning out right. I'll give
you another one too, Man, give me Tompa Bay. Last
week was just ugly. It was cross country. I'm not
giving up on Tom because Tom went to Michigan and
I'm riding everything Michigan right now. Going to to the
college football playoffs and also the National Championship game is
so far that we will be playing Georgia, and so
give me the Bucks with the plus three and a
half at home on the plus one sixty five money line.
(01:19:03):
I like the over on the forty five on this too.
I'm just stop playing all my hopes in the Bengals. Man,
I'm a right with Tom Brady in Michigan on this
right here, give me the Bucks with the plus three
a half of the dog. The Buccaneers are a bad team,
and sooner or later the batting public will recognize it.
But it seems like it will not be today, my dog.
Here we go. They got one guy back, they got
the Jenka pieces. My man Dave Damage says, the Jenka
(01:19:24):
piece for this team is t J. Watt. He's back
in the fold. You're getting me, You're giving me three
points against the Carolina Panthers. The Steelers are gonna win
this game out right, because you know why. You know
why really, because this is gonna have the Tampa Bay
Buccaneers gonna lose their way to the top of the
NFC South because they're gonna ste Panthers lose this game
to the Steelers, and the Buccaneers gonna win the South
with a losing record. That's how this goes. But the
(01:19:46):
Steelers get the win. The Steelers get the win. I'm
gonna take on I'm gonna take one right here too. Man,
give me the Patriots. I know people like what, Yeah,
give me the Patriots at the Raiders. There's only a
point to half, so it's really a pickup. But that
still means there to underdog because the Raiders are the
favorite team. Man on the minus one on five on
the money line. Just the master teaches the pupil a
(01:20:08):
lesson and they get to win in Vegas the brow
and it starts to really add up and mount up that.
What are you gonna do with Derek Carr and the
rest of the Raiders organization coming up this offseason? Yeah,
I love the Patriots here. You're giving me Bill Belichick.
You give me two points against the Bill Pelichick disciple.
We have seen this movie before. It does not and well,
Patriots win this thing outright. Coming up next, we'll get
(01:20:30):
into some college football. Dion was active in the transport
portal is flying Fox Sports Radio. That's right, and we're
broadcasting live from the Tirac dot Com studios Tirac dot com.
We'll help you get there. An unmatched election, fast free shipping,
free road, add a protection and over ten thousand recommended
its dollars tirack dot com the way tire buying should be.
Dion Sanders VJ goes out a loser and his last
(01:20:54):
game at Jackson State apparently still coach Jackson State. I mean,
I don't know he was in color He's been in
Colorado for the last month, it feels, and apparently just
somehow had it got lost into the detour backdown the
Jackson go coach the Celebration Bowl, of which he lost
to North Carolina Central. Uh and the big reason why
they were even in the game. North Carolina Central jumped
(01:21:15):
out to a ten nothing lead. Then you had your
Door Sanders or Travis Hunter connect a few good times
in the second half to make it a close matchup,
came down to the wire, ended up losing. But the
big question is Door Sanders Travis Hunter, where are they
gonna be next year? Because it's damn sure not gonna
be Jackson State. Well, we already know where Sanders son
is gonna be. He's already blatantly, openly, arrogantly only as
(01:21:38):
Dion Prime Tom Sanders can't already said he introduced his
son as there's your coarter. Quarter, there's your quarter. Don't worry,
don't worry. Don't worry me there. He's gonna have to
earn He's gonna have to earn it. He's gonna have
to earn it. But there's a quarterback. Man. Listen, all right.
I could care less whether he won the game today
or not. I'm not even gonna be that guy. Man.
I know there's a lot of people out there who
enjoyed seeing him losing and going out and lose the
(01:22:00):
way that he used in PIM HPC, using lots to
our faces for three years and then went and ran
as soon as the other side showed him a bigger check.
And everybody has their opinions about that. You and I
have spun it around so many times. I'm tired even
talked about that point. I will say this though, him
leaving and taking guys like Travis Hunter with him at
that's that's cold, man, Like real talk, that's cold. I
(01:22:21):
know kids could do what they want to do and
people could do what they get it. That don't mean
that I can't judge it, though. I don't mean I
don't have an opinion about it. That's cold. You already
took the note because he would have never signed at
Colorado he had never signed at Jackson State, you know
what I'm saying, Like he was committed to Florida State,
which is coach Norvela's turned that program around. They're gonna
win in games this year and be a national championship
(01:22:42):
contender next season. So you didn't go there. You went
to Jackson State, and then you go out a loser
and losing your game today and inherit his bowl and
then what You're gonna go to Colorado and go play
at Colorado? You would have never went there. So um,
that's the only bad part about this whole situation. Also too,
how the hell do you take another I've been get
to show up and coach today like that? Like that serious?
(01:23:04):
How I don't I don't really know how that was
coaching today, dude, Like I didn't know he was coaching.
And I saw the highlight on him walking out there,
I was like, whoa, whoa, hold up, you're still you're
the coach of Colorado Buffaloes. How are you even showing
up to another school with their logo and uniform on
to coach them in a ball game? And the man,
(01:23:25):
this whole thing has been a you know what show?
You know the word I want to use it. Did
feel I'm wondering, like just like legitimately with the rules
of all, maybe maybe it's an FCS FBS type of
situation division two fers, but I mean still the fact
that the matter is, if I'm d N Sanders, I'm
not coaching that game. Yeah, yeah, you can't. Do you
(01:23:47):
know why he did it though, because you know why?
You do? You know why? So I could be prompt
so I could show my face, so I could show so.
Also too, I think there was a piece of him
that's trying to win his card back. And y'all know
the card I'm talking. He's trying to win a few
of that, a few of them cards. But well, let
me let me show back up because trust me, there,
I haven't seen it at all today and now I'll
run through it while I'm at home tonight watching the
game and on Twitter. I guarantee there's people that are saying, oh, man,
(01:24:10):
look at that. Y'all were mad at him, man, and
y'all were crapping on him, and he showed but he
went back and showed back up. Man to coach them
in the Bowl game. Bravo. There, trust me, there's some
idiots out there that tweeted that today, I'll put it
out on Instagram or something, trust me. But you know
why he did it, man, He did it just to
draw attention on himself like he does everything else. Yeah, yeah,
I mean ultimately ultimately other thing with Dion's is ultimately
(01:24:35):
super self serving. But here's the real rub is without
the transfer portal, he would have never been able to
do any of this. Yeah, like you've never never been
at well, he would have left eventually, right, Because I
think I should say this, without the transfer portal, you
can't leave in this way, because I think without the transportal,
Jackson stay probably gives him a head coaching job side
(01:24:55):
on scene, right, I think that probably still exists, right,
just for the juice of it, just for the noise
of it, but the idea, and I think that without
the trans reportal, he still gets if not Travis Hunter,
the Travis Hunters of the world, right, Like, maybe not him,
but somebody else of that ilk, right, the four or
five star guys were coming down here and making things happen,
right along with his son Shador, who was a four
(01:25:17):
star recruiter, probably could have gone on damn near anywhere
in the nation. I do believe though n I l
had more to do with Travis Hunter than transferportal. Okay,
but okay, so I think that's but that's something to
also to be there, right, But the number one quarterback
in the nation going to be coached by Deon Sanders,
that kind of it lines up right. If Barry Sanders
(01:25:37):
was coaching and the number one money back and went
to coach by Barry Sanders, it would line up right.
But if the transfer port lets exists where these where
these players can can essentially just walk out tomorrow, Dion
is not. He has way more of ancent of a
to build a program at Jackson State and to be
go to a program that he is not going to
(01:25:58):
be revamped in the image of Dion like Colorado will be. Yeah.
Well here here's another thing to a transporportal. And I'm
glad you brought that up that I did some research
man and dug up some numbers on transporportal. This this
transpportal thing, guys, it's not as great as people think
it is. It really isn't. Um Over a thousand kids
will enter the transfer portal, but less than of them
(01:26:21):
will find new homes and some of them. Will I
even have to go down, Uh go down a notch,
you know, so go down to the FCS. They're not
gonna be in the FBS. They have to go down.
And I think it's like eighteen percent of these kids
don't even find new colleges. There's a few words that
that bother me and ring a bell when you talk
about transferportal number one. It says to me soft, It
(01:26:44):
says to me weak, and it says to me what
I think is a big problem with the kids of
today as far as sports. And I'm the old guy
at the barbershop. I'm gonna get off my lawn. But
he's right, yeah, get the hell off my lawn. I
was out on that sun all damn day cutting that
grass and line it up with the edger, with the
little edger. So yes, I want you off my damn
lawn today. It's green, all one color green, not like
the yard across the street. So I am that guy
right now. But it shows you don't want to compete.
(01:27:06):
And I'm old enough to remember where you You didn't transfer,
you stayed where you were. If somebody came in, man,
you worked harder, you just and and if and here's
another thing. If you're not starting where you are, you
think you're gonna go somewhere on the same level to
the school that you're leaving, Like you think you can
leave Michigan and go to Minnesota. Minnesota recruits four or
five star guys too that are already there, already know
(01:27:27):
the system, already know the classes, already know the professors,
already know the coaches already on the training staff, already
other way around campus. And you're gonna go there and
you couldn't even started Indiana. Are you couldn't started Illinois?
Or if you want to go down to SEC, you're
gonna leave South Carolina to go to Vanderbilt. Like. It doesn't,
It doesn't. It doesn't make sense in this day. I
think I think, honestly, Martin, it's getting it's getting dangerous.
(01:27:48):
But there's another half of that of that scenario, right,
There's the other half of that scenario is, and I'll
just use Colorado, and because that's the school of question.
Is the kid who was starting in Colorado and then
a new coach gets hired or not even a new
coach gets hired, but you know you were starting and
wherever you were at or you were fighting for a
(01:28:10):
starting spot wherever you were at and all of a sudden,
they know that they can go get Jordan Addison from
pitt and he's gonna come and he now he's gonna
be the starter. So I am now in a position
if I was the guy who was starting, and I
know that they just just said, Okay, we're gonna go
get Jordan Addison, or we're gonna get Marvin Harrison Junior
out of the portal for example. Now I gotta go somewhere.
(01:28:31):
Now I'm well, here's the deal. If I'm a kid
and I know that I have a limited I I
hear what you're saying, and that like beat him out. Then,
But if I have a limited amount of time to
get this tape out, I feel the other side of
it where it's like I feel you like, grind it
out and and and and you know, rise the ranks.
(01:28:51):
But it's one thing getting better. It's one thing. If
you're Tom Brady and you walk into Michigan as a
freshman and you're competing against the same guys save one
or two freshmen who come in each year. Right, You're
competing against Drew Henson, the almost the entire time you're there,
it's an entirely different thing. If you are Tom Brady
(01:29:12):
has put to put him in your college quarterback today,
if you're J. J. McCarthy today, and not all of
a sudden, Hardball says, you know what, We're gonna go
at Arts Manning. We're gonna go. But but it's like, like,
what am I supposed to do? Because I can't control
what the coaches is gonna do. I get it, but
to me, it goes deeper than that, even goes back
to recruiting. Now, like the I I believe that all
(01:29:33):
recruiters have to tell some type of white line because
the parents and the kids aren't tough enough to handle
the truth. So we're recruiting Martin White. Maryan White is
the number two rank receiver coming out of Detroit Day
High School. Okay, and we want you, Martin. You're a
beast dog. But guess what the junior that's down at
I am g I'm gonna recruit him next year too.
And guess what. We have a sophomore that's there who
(01:29:55):
balled this year, who's gonna be a junior, so he
can't leave because he's only a junior. So he's gotta
play so you can come in and get better and
be to Martin White's number two rank kids in the
country at a Detroit Day. Knowing that the i MG
kid Jason Jackson is on his way too at six
four to fifteen or at five nine one ninety but
runs a four three and a half or four three five.
(01:30:16):
You can either look at that or just go pro.
I'm gonna just get better. I'm gonna compete while I'm here.
But these kids are what they're doing today. And I
think it's also from the generation of the parents. Is
if I'm not playing right now, I'm out. You told
me this, You told me that. Yeah, but you also
haven't gotten better. Why you've been here, buddy, And I
can't stop recruiting because you refuse to get better. I
think that is a societal thing, bro. The softness of
(01:30:39):
these kids, man, because there's less there's there's literally no
impetus for Dion Sanders to try to develop anybody on
the Colorado roster that he can't improve on. That he
can't just get a guy who's already better. So there's
no like on the backside's no guarantee that the kids
that he thinks he's gonna get to come over here,
are gonna be better anyway, because but he's coming in
(01:31:00):
with the preferred your it's not. It's the difference between
being a preferred walk on and the guy got offered
the scholarship. If nothing else, you know, you gotta be
that much better than the guy that got off for
the scholarship because they were the one that they picked.
Let me spend this for you. Then. Okay, so you're
a kid and let's say Oregon State. I'm not gonna
even pick like a power at Oregon State, and you
were getting playing time. Now you may not be start.
(01:31:21):
You were getting playing time. Why would I leave getting
playing time with the possibility of being a starter at
at where I'm already established next year then to fall
for Dion's BS marketing propaganda and go to Colorado where
there's no guarantees. There's no guarantees, So why not stay
where I am, get better, stay in the system that
I am, stay with familiarity. And and that's why this
(01:31:44):
portal can be really dangerous. And the numbers show a guys,
there's nine eighteen kids that normally entered the portal between
December and January. The number dropped down to like five
nineteen in April and mayte and it's only like three
something between August and September, August and September, so that
think about it, So augu September, you choose to transfer,
that is definitely I don't want to compete because you
know now that you're not gonna be the starter, or
(01:32:06):
something's happened where you're not gonna somebody signed above you
in August or September, and you know I'm not gonna
get that. That's why there's two sides to it. And
going back to Michigan, that's why I always understood why
mcnamir was named the starter for week one and J. J.
McCarthy was named the starter. I told everybody goes he
doesn't want to lose the kid and where what is what?
This came back to the mirror do two weeks ago
(01:32:27):
he answers the transfer portal signs with Iowa. So you
already knew he didn't want to compete with J. J. McCarthy.
Hardball knew it back in August. He lost the competition.
I'm not I don't think that dude. I don't think
he's the competition. We recruited over him, and that's just
we recruited a better player, all right, So for competition
was no competition. Though when I recruit better than you,
the competition there's no competition. So then if you're gonna like,
(01:32:50):
I don't have a problem with like based off what
you're saying, I have no problem with the The biggest
problem that I have with it is the idea that
these are not professional athletes. And and I did, We're
going just contract. The contract to contract is a little
bit more transactional than I care for it to be.
Because here's the deal. If I get hurt and I'm
(01:33:10):
on scholarship, I just I feel like my scholarship needs
to be honored, right, And I don't but it. And
again I'm just but some of this stuff, like some
of these are now questions that are gonna have to
be answered, like if you over, if you like how
like some of these are not questions I have to
be answered in terms of like if you're if you're
a hurt player in Colorady toy r a c L
(01:33:31):
and two weeks for the season, he doesn't want you,
now what you know what I'm saying, Like he didn't
be and then that would be an indictment on the coach,
but that on the transferort. But that is what that
is the type of scenario that that is not a
unique scenario in the transfer portal as a stands, which
is gives me something that I don't I don't like that. Also,
quick sidebar. His son has to sit out. He's already
(01:33:51):
transferred twice. This is his third transfer. If he goes
with his dad, his son. I don't know why people
miss that. His son can't play next year. I don't Yeah, yeah, no,
I noticed fecial. His son can't play next year. His
son has to sit out. So the whole thing he's
got to work for see dealing smart guys. Dan knows
how to set it up. Deon knows what he's doing here, man.
But yeah, I think it's dangerous. I and I listen.
(01:34:12):
When it first came out, I liked it. I called
it free agency at college sports. But it's getting dangerous. Now,
it's getting dangerous. DJ, just get better, bro, he acts.
He actually entered the portal the day after they one
was the conference championship. All right, I'm out. So you
don't even want to compete with this kid. Dude, you
were the number one ranked quarterback coming into your class.
You don't even want to compete with this kid. That
(01:34:34):
tells me something about if you're the next coach problem
with that? Really, bro, If I'm d J, I got
pulled four times this year, this is not the place
for me. Like I just get better. I hear you
have all off season. Who do you think he's doing?
Just he might he might be. That's not the answer.
That's not going to be the answer for everybody, especially
(01:34:57):
when you're in the scenario in a situation where any
he can pick somebody on, like anybody whoever is the
number one guy in this spot can just come over here.
You gotta be able to move freely. But the thing
I would say, if you want to have this trans
reportal and be like this, you want to make your
school be solid, you're gonna have to pay these guys
and n I L money enough to where it's like, yo,
it's more valuable for you to be the backup here
(01:35:19):
than it is for you to go try to get
playing time elsewhere. That's what's n I O deals just
to go to certain schools with no plans are playing
Quinn Ewards did that. He took money with the n
I L because it was more money just to go
to Ohio State and he knew he weren't gonna play there.
You know I'm gonna play and that's why he's He's
at his third fourth school already. Come on, I just
think it's dangerous, man, I really do. Coming up next,
we'll get into the N B A or Think or
(01:35:41):
Christmas songs one or the other, depending on how Me
and VJ pheel abou after this break. Coming to the
next Fox Sports Radio. The Bills are up by eight
right now, driving with the ball on the Dolphins. We'll
touch on that next to Fox Sports Radio, Fox Sports Saturday,
Martin and VJ. Coming to your live from the tire
rack dot Com studios. Welcome to the Fox Sports Right
hotail game pretended by the Big Green Egg. Nothing beats
(01:36:02):
the flavor of live fire cooking on the Big Green Egg.
This one was Versatile Grillas too of her own, back

fire up that Big Green Egg outside because it's chili,
it's snowing, and it may not be a blizzard in Buffalo. However,
(01:36:24):
they're done with the tomfoolery VJ. They're done with the foolishness.
They say, if you're a Buffalo Bills fan and you
throw another snowball, you're out of here, subject to arrest.
They say, you know what I'm saying, getting kicked out
of the stadium, and only that a fifteen yard penalty
against the home team if a players hit with the snowball.
How about that? Now? It was funny. You and I
were watching the game early in the first quarter when
(01:36:46):
they're driving down there in the end zone and Tres
being t Hill has been having a past thrown to them,
which you should have caught and dropped the ball. But
there's snowballs coming at him too, and you're like, man,
they throwing snowballs. What was my What was my response to?
I say, man, I'm so tired of even complaining about that.
When would care about anymore? I've been seeing that my
whole life. Ethan produces the show here tonight. Ethan comes
into the room. He goes, dude, really, you've been sessup.
(01:37:06):
I've been seeing this my whole life, like eighties and nineties,
growing up as a kid. Miami have to go up
there late in the year, they've been throwing snowball, So
to me, it's like it's no big dealis whatever. But
the fact that they yeah, But the fact that they've
stepped up and they're like, Okay, now it's gonna be
a fifteen year a penalty. Let's knock off the Shenanigan's
even more Buffalo Bill fans. You guys act like you're
sobering your team so much better than everybody else, you
(01:37:27):
have to resort to classless stuff like this of throwing
snowballs at players on the field when you're trying to
catch a ball. If your team is so good, you
wouldn't need to do that, you know what I'm saying.
But none. Nonetheless, man, this game has been great. Miami's
down fourteen and six. It should be fourteen sans I
just said to you because they dropped two touchdown passes
Indians on or at least with a chance to go
(01:37:47):
down one when a field go here or go up
scoring a touchdown going into that. So I'm very impressed
and also running the football very well, as I said
they have to do tonight. I'm just happy that this
game's outside so we can have games delayed by fans
strowing snowball. The game was inside, you know what I'm saying,
there would be no delay because there's fans aren't just
(01:38:07):
gonna be throwing things because you know what, there's not
gonna be things falling from the sky. Also, to back
to the song that brought us back in, we appreciate that. Brother.
That's chris See. That's Christmas music. So y'all hear that
right there to tempt it. Hey, now that's I can't sing.
I suck at it, so don't. I'm not, y'all I
suck I sucking singing, Bro, I never try. I'm jealous
of anybody with hair and or can sick. And I'm bald.
So if you got hair, I'm jealous, and especially if
(01:38:29):
you let it grow. You got product in it. When
you go to the beach, you lift your head up
for water, and you know, you shake your hands. Yeah,
sound like sound? He said product? Get that product that
he got that product? You had that product in it't man?
So uh and right there, I'm sorry, I gotta do this.
The dolphins when a touchdown, run up the gut, up
the middle. Baby, that's what I'm talking about. All right,
I'm done, But great song man, that's Christmas music. Like
(01:38:53):
I said before, If it's not Luta van Drosser, seven
year old Michael Jackson, dude, you want me, I'm gonna
tell you right now, man, you want a piece of
my Christmas heart. When you said that about Michael Jackson, like,
I literally my Christmas points for you went up, brother
when you said you and I love the way you
said it. If it's not seven year old Michael Jackson
screaming at the top of his lungs my mom cooking
in the kitchen. I don't I love that. I love kissing,
(01:39:17):
kissing saying the club. You know what I'm saying. It's
like class, it's kind and you can't help but think.
It's like, yo, what would your jackson be down? What
was that house? Do it again? Damnit? Line back up
right now, put the cookies down. Everybody, Line up, two
(01:39:39):
three go. I will say the Jackson's an American dream.
I don't know if that. See, here's the thing that
we have lost in today's day and age. And I'll
tell you this will be to be a second. But
with the whole streaming thing, the whole concept of flipping
channels doesn't exist anymore. Me and my girlfriend spend I
mean literal like an hour of our time trying to
(01:40:02):
figure out what to watch because there's entirely too many apps.
If there was just channels to flip through, we would
we would have. It would be much easier to you know,
to decide out of your twenty different channels as opposed
to your four thousand different streaming apps. And because of that,
we have an entire generation that probably has never seen
that Jackson's an American dream and that that that causes
(01:40:25):
me costs for concern because I bet ethan back there's right,
but he's never even heard of what we're talking about.
He doesn't even know that Joe Jackson is a liar
and a cheat and Angela bast don't want him no more?
Want him? No more? Don't want him? Do I want him?
That was the greatest television series, Like you know, and
they come out with a special series and it's like
(01:40:46):
three episodes four, episode five. That was the greatest ever.
You can't just skip mini series is which now I
got news flash at Hollywood, your six episode mini series
really needs to be an hour and a half long movie. However,
did Jackson did not? Did you know that Joe Jackson
was a liar in a cheat? Yeah? Absolutely not. I
(01:41:08):
don't watch it. I don't expect I expected him to go,
who's Joe Jackson? Yeah, that was my second idea. That
was what Lawrence Jacobs right? Did he played Joe Jackson?
Was Lawrence Oh my gosh, what's it fishburn played? Okay,
(01:41:30):
I'm getting my old Yeah, I'm old movies in an
American dream? And what's love got to do with it?
I'm getting it mixed up? And you know what you
because you think even know what we're talking about. I
didn't know that. So what's love got to do the movie?
You don't know the movie? That's the movie is so powerful, Ethan.
I swear to you, if you watch it, you won't like,
(01:41:52):
you won't like. Let me actually this. Do you like
Lawrence Fishburne as an actor? You know, Matrix that you
like Lawrence fishburn of course. Okay, you'll hate him for
a week if you ever see that that's a role.
There's roles that make you hate, like I hated Tupac
for like a year after Juice, I did. I hated
Tupac for like a year after Juice. You killed your
whole crew, dog like your boys and the way you
(01:42:12):
shot and kill Raheem and then you try to end
in the way you shot and I mean, yeah, yeah,
that Some aren't roles make you hate guys, uh like
in real life. So that's one of those roles. You
look at Laurence Frisburne like, yeah, bro, how did you
act that too? You acted that out a little too well,
that's a little too good, Brook. I know Joe Jackson
is a liar and the chief, but I know Steve
(01:42:33):
the Seger is about to give us all the honesty
of what's happening in the world of sports right now, Steve,
what's going on? Or here we go, microphone going. We
were talking about Buffalo Bills getting a new stadium in
four years. You're correct. It will not have a roof.
It will have an overhang over the upper level seats,
but no roof over the field. They cleared the snow
(01:42:55):
off the field in Buffalo before this one tonight, but
so much snow was left in the seats. It's tons
of ammunition. And so yeah, there was a pause in
the game during the second quarter against Miami and a
threat of penalty if snowballs come on the field again.
It does remind me of the final weekend of a
mid nineties season when the Chargers won at the Giants
and so many dangerously so so many snowballs were coming
(01:43:18):
out of the seats that the Giants wound up having
to apologize to the Chargers afterwards. This is a Bill's
Dolphins match up here late season where Buffalo's first place
in the Division two games up as Miami has lost
two in a row. The score is Buffalo fourteen thirteen
over the Dolphins, now under three minutes to go in
the second quarter, Miami still trailing because ad settled for
(01:43:39):
a short field goal early in the second quarter to
with a hundred two yards passing, Josh Allen of Buffalo
a hundred sixty six yards passing and two touchdowns. Cleveland
beat Baltimore thirteen to three. Nick Chubb ninety nine yards
rushing Minnesota with an overtime win thirty nine thirty six
against Indianapolis, even though Indie lead at the half thirty
three nothing In fact, the Colts were eating late third
(01:44:00):
quarter thirty six seven and still Minnesota won the game
to clinch a division title. This was the largest comeback
win in league history. The Steelers will start quarterback Mitch
Rabinsky tomorrow at Carolina. In college football, bull wins for
Fresno State, Louisville and fourteenth ranked Oregon State, which dominated
Florida in the Las Vegas Bowl thirty to three. In
(01:44:21):
the NBA, there was a game in Mexico City that
went to the Miami Heat over San Antonio one even
to one oh one. In college hoops, number one produced
still undefeated after edging Davidson sixty one. Houston won at
Virginia Gonzaga one at Alabama, Kansas beat Indiana, and in
New York City, U c l A down Kentucky after
(01:44:41):
North Carolina won in overtime against Ohio State. Free agent
shortstop Dansby Swanson is leaving the Braves for the Cubs
and a seven year deal. Swanson was drafted number one
overall from Vanderbilt in and multiple reports say the Dodgers
are signing d H J. D. Martinez to a one
year contract. Back to you, Steve, really quick, that incident
(01:45:01):
that you name what the giants and charges? Do you
remember that coach getting hit with like a brick, like
a piece of ice and getting knocked out and say out,
it was was I right, like he wanted to go
up into the stands. It was Sid Brooks that got
hit on the side and knocked unconscious. He was the
longtime equipment manager for the team. Yeah, man, just such
classless behavior. Like I remember, my mother is a Giant fan,
(01:45:24):
so I grew up watching Giants. I remember watching game
and say out, oh my god, he looked like that.
If he got his hands on somebody, man, Lord rest
his soul, he would have done some serious chargers. At
the end, they had either fumble return or a pick
six to seal it, and they were dodging snowballs on
the way all the way down the field into the
end zone. It was bad day. It was a bad day.
It was very ugly. It's interesting Steve just said that
(01:45:46):
uh Mits Trubisky gets the start in Pittsburgh coming up,
which I kind of expected to be the case. But
if you've heard seen the news from the banks of
the Three Rivers, there's been outward clamoring for Mason Rudolph
to get start. Deante Johnson said, you want to Mas
rousseft like but it's just but it's this a whole
bunch of like like it's it. The Steelers quarterback situation
(01:46:10):
this season has kind of been a disaster. Canny pick
it to me has looked decent. I think pick it
to pick Ins is gonna be a real thing going
down the stretch. I think Kenny Pickett is going to
be an NFL quarterback, which, honestly, when you're drafting one
of these guys, you would love it if they just
hit the baseline of being NFL quarterback, right you know
(01:46:31):
what I'm saying, because's quite often describe what kind of
NFL quarterback that can be just hey, he's gonna be.
There's gonna be an quarterback, quite honestly, because you know,
we were just talking about the guy Zack Wilson, who
may not be in the same way that right, like,
Kenny Picket is a starting guy in this league right now.
But signing missed True Bisky and then and then signing
Mason Rudolph and then having pick it in there, it's
(01:46:52):
kind of like, you know they say, if you have
two starters and you have none, right, well, they had three,
not really did three nothings right, like Pick, it's a project.
And then Troubinsky. We saw the book on him. He
didn't get better sitting behind Josh Allen and then make
some Rudolf last functional, last major contribution NFL game, he
got bunked in ahead by Miles Garrett. I I think
(01:47:16):
Pick is the guy. So I don't agree with they
got three nothings. Nope, they got a guy. He's just
been He's not a guy, did you You don't want
to go with him off the top, like like Peyton
Manning when out there. Yeah, but he's number one. Listen,
Peyton is a generational guy, number one overall. I thought,
and you and I talked about this. I thought, Desmond
Ritter and Kenney Pick it should have been starting from
the from the jump, because the alternate was Marcus Mariota,
(01:47:39):
which we've seen everything he can do and everything is
gonna give us, and Mitchell Trobinsky, which we've seen everything
he can do and everything he's gonna give us. So
if you're gonna draft the guy, just go ahead and
start him. Do you win? Differential is not gonna be
much what a game or two. You're not going to
the playoffs. They were gonna win the same amount of
gains whether they started Troubinsky, Rudolph or or or Picket,
and they were gonna win a same amount of games
(01:48:00):
in Atlanta if they started Mariota already started Ridder. So
I think think I think they would have won last
week if they hadn't played Mitchell. If Mitchell Duwbinski somehow,
I mean, obviously Kenny Pickett got hurt. So but the
way that he turned the ball on the way that
Mitchell Dubinsky turned the ball over in the red zone,
then need a house oversight community to look into that
because he might have been playing for the wrong side.
(01:48:22):
Like I mean, lord a mercy, he's out of the
league in two years, dude, Like seriously, like Mitchell Drew
bisky Is, I never were people that called it. When
he got drafted. People were like, what you're Chicago and
you moved up to take this kid out of North Carolina,
saying with Daniel Jones, what you guys took this kid
out of Duke. When's the last time Duke's out of
court that a basketball does a't j Williams, this ain't
(01:48:42):
the point guard position. This is quarterback. You don't find
a quarterback at Duke. That's like a receiver or running
back from Vanderbilt. He's not there that can carry the
load for you on a Sunday. So I like I
like pick it. I think pick is the answer there.
I've already been on him, always been on him. I
agree with you. I love the whole Pick two pickings
can be a real thing, and we'll be a real thing.
(01:49:03):
And you're turning and handing the naj I think he's
a beast this, But the comments coming out, I just
wish these guys would just shut up. Sometimes you're not
a good team. You're not going to the playoffs. The
last thing you need to be doing, in my opinion,
is running your mouth about who's gonna play quarterback. Just
go out and do your job. You ain't having a
b share your damn so bro. You ain't blowing the
top off a defensive. If somebody was thrnlated ball, I'd
(01:49:24):
be a little bit better. You don't think look Martin,
you don't think everybody else knows that you have to
say it. You don't think everybody knows. I have no
problem with guys with this energy. I really don't. You
don't think room that messes up the locker room. Here's
the deal, bro, here's the thing. If I'm saying what
is visibly true? Right, what is visibly true? And this
(01:49:49):
may not be that makes some Rudolph is the answer,
but is that Mitchell Dubinski is absolutely not. But we
know Mitchell is not the answer, right, all right, But
here's the deal. You want to talk about guys insfer
in colleges. So like the Johnson can't transfer nowhere, You're
gonna be right there until this contract expires or you
gets traded. Right, So it's like, ooh, man, I'm go
ahead and let everybody know how I feel about what's
going on here. I'm good with that. I mean, everyone's
(01:50:13):
got some professionalism to bro. Here's the deal though. Here's
the deal. Though, if we're sitting there and and and
somebody's not getting the job done, like the idea that
they're still out there and still running them out there
is either we have to adjust in some form or fashion,
like I hear what you're saying, and that like it's
here's it would be one thing entirely if if Mr
(01:50:33):
Bisky came out and played like Josh and Herbert did
on Sunday Night against the Dolphins, and he's like, you
know what, I'm not getting the ball enough. Right. That's
another thing entirely, But when you're not getting it out
of your quarterback position and you feel like there's other
guys around, they feel like it's being mismanaged. I don't
really have a problem with it. I really don't have
a problem with yards and zero touchdowns and you're running
(01:50:57):
your mouth. I'm saying because you had Mr Business. I'm
not saying because he had. I'm not saying because he
couldn't get to the end zone. Just I'm not saying
because he had. But as a result, I mean, when
you're not really spraying the ball around. I get that.
Like like everybody killed the Liijah More for saying he
wanted to get traded in the second year. And I'm
not saying that it was the right move, but there's
(01:51:18):
something behind that. Okay, you see my point? That's all
I was like, Yeah, is it the right the thing
necessarily to go out here and be like, yo, I
want to be traded. No, but I think we got
We gotta take these things on just a level below
face value to see what's really being set here. That's
what I don't think He's the guy to say it, well,
somebody's got we're not on this team? Is okay? You
(01:51:40):
know what? Have it be a defensive guy that's like,
have it be? Why have it be a defensive guy
that's that's a staple on this team? Not not not
a flash of the pan. I think he's a flash
in the pan receiver. I don't think we will hear
from him three years from now. We're not gonna where
the hell when he talk? When he pops up on
Thursday night with a big third cat, we'll go, oh,
that's where the say, that's where the Johnson plays. Now
(01:52:02):
watch the thing. And I want to make this last
note on Mitchell Dubisky and we'll get into picks after this.
But the thing that was wild about Rubisky is, you know,
you watch a CEC football, DeShawn Watson was clearly the
best quarterback in the conference. Mitchell Dubisky was a guy.
I mean, That's it. But coming up next we'll get
into the NFL picks. Fox Sports Radio, Fox Sports Saturday,
(01:52:23):
Fox Sports Football. The Buffalo Bills locking on the doorstep
right now, the Miami Dolphins end zone. No snowballs throwing
on this side interestingly enough. Go figure, who would have
thought maybe no snowballs throwing with the builders at trying
to get into the end zone on that side of things,
(01:52:45):
we'll see eight seconds left in the half sea, we'll
have all of that at the top of the hour
coming up. VJ. I mean literally, guys, you guys can't
see him. I know this is radio, but his knees
are tight together, his elbows in on his chest, he's clinched.
He shipping ring like he's there. It's not real, Schevers, Oh,
it's just nerves. He's so nervous about this Miami Dolphins game.
He's crying at the refs. That's a lot going on
(01:53:06):
right now. Mike McDaniel is much calmer than VJ is
sitting next to me, because we need this man like
I don't. Like I said, I've never seen this go
up there and win a cold game just would be great,
especially with this year, with everything that's happened, with everything
that's gone on, to go up there and be Vegas
favorite and the m v P at the beginning to
season's favorite up on their field and sweep them. This year,
you guys realized that Miami was this game. They would
(01:53:28):
have swept the Bills this year. That's huge, especially when
you consider the way they beat the Bills the last time.
Is still freaking out in the favorite video or whatever
that what do they call it? What's miamis? You know
that pro player hard rock whatever? But that stadium has
changed names more than anything in football. Damn near. But
(01:53:49):
you just mentioned you just mentioned it was Vegas his favorite,
the Buffalo Bills. I get where you're coming from with that,
But John, let's get into the NFL picks. Who's Vegas
his favorite this week? I don't know ething. What's going on? Brother?
Filling in for bo Ethan? What's up? Man? What you got?
All right? It's good to be here, guys. But I
just want to make one thing clear real quick. Um,
(01:54:09):
with this little competition you guys got going, is it
by spread or money line? It is against the spread.
It is against the spread. I just want to make
sure I appreciate that double check. It is against the spread? Alright? Cool? Cool? Yeah.
Last week's record was four and one. Martin's favorite. Oh wow,
you good for you? Good for him, man, that's his
(01:54:31):
first one in like five weeks. That's cool. This week
we'll go Bears. Mine is eight and a half for
the Eagles. You go first, Eagles, give me fairly right
here to cover. I'm taking the Bears. Justin fields eight
and a half. You said there's too many points off
of by Justin Fields healthy again, he's gonna hit his
head and the goal poof not once but twice. The
(01:54:54):
Eagles caver. I mean, Bears cover alright. Next one, we
got Falcons at Saints, and we got the Saints minus four.
Give me Desmond Ritter in the Atlanta Falcons, because here's
the deal. That team is gonna be able to run
the ball down the Saints. The Saints look going into
the season, of the questions were quarterback and head coach. Unfortunately,
(01:55:16):
those are the two biggest questions in football, two most
important musicitions in football, and and Jameis Winston can't seem
to catch a lick. Dennis Allen is the worst coach
in the NFL by record. This is not gonna be
like give me Desmond Ritter in his first start. Always
tell people the best city in America for food is
New Orleans. If you've never been there and eating their food,
you're missing out. So therefore I'm gonna take them to
(01:55:37):
cover this four points. They've been playing tough man. They
may have lost some games recently, but they're in them.
They played Toff. I watched the film Man, I'm not
always looking at the numbers. Give me this right here
in Atlanta. Uh to beat Atlanta? Answer to cover that
four and a half. All right, we got a real
good one lines at the New York Jets. The Jets
are right now minus one. See Vegas doesn't even know
(01:55:59):
what to do to this game. They said, you know what,
y'all figure it out. We don't know what to do
here because here's the rub. Yeah, Mike White, his ribs
are all in, all in flux. You got Dard Golf,
Mr Small hands himself out in the cold. It's and
then Dan Campbell before this season never won a road
game before his last two road games, had never won
(01:56:20):
a road game. I don't know if he's gonna be
able to do it three times in a row. Give
me the Jets to Zach Wilson, Oh my goodness that
he no. Give me the all. Give me the Detroit
Lions one. I put money on the over with the
six wins in Vegas back in August, so I need
him to win this game too. I love the way
this team is built. I love the way they've been playing.
Aaron Glen's gotta go to the defensive coordinator. They just
(01:56:40):
they can't keep winning games thirty six to thirty three.
They gotta get some stops, and I think they will
because Zach Wilson is the quarterback. Give me the lines
to win this game and cover their one point. I
need the technic shot after that, pick ethan, what's next, jeezus?
Al right, next, we got uh one of your guys.
Favorite game of the week. You has been talking about
this all show the Giants at the Commanders. Right now,
the line is four and a half favoring the Commanders.
(01:57:04):
I'm taking the Commanders, man. Give me that it was
five when I looked at it this morning, I hadn't
put it on the five. I liked this team. I
like Robinson at the running back position. I like my
man heine Key crack of open man the green bottles,
and I like Ron Rivera. And they're in Washington. They
should have beat him up at the Giants. And the
Giants are on the spiral, one down in the opposite direction.
Give me the Commanders on the road. And shout out
(01:57:25):
to all my friends back home from the d n
V that at Washington fans they covered the five and
a half four and four and a half. Tomorrow, I
think that I think this line is out of whack
and that these two teams just tied recently and we
don't are we really gonna just the almost called them
the wrong name seven times just now, Commanders, thank you.
The Commanders are really gonna be four and a half
(01:57:45):
point favorites in this game. I'm not taking Taylor Haneke
is a favorite, I guess damn or anybody. Even though
it is the New York Giants, I think they keep
it close and cover the four and a half. All right,
So this is a big one, big one for Tom Brady.
Tomorrow it's the Bengals at the Bucks. Since that he's
minus three and a half. Listen, I told y'all last
week that minus three and a half was a layup
(01:58:06):
with Brock the Rock Party locked that in. You know what.
Joe Burrow seventeen and three against the Spreading his last
twenty starts. Look it up. That's a fact. After this
eighteen and three against the Spreading his last twenty one
starts he's taken Tom Brady to the back of the
wood shed. Listen, this is not a good Buccaneers team.
They should be. They should be underdogs by five at
(01:58:28):
least for the rest of the season. What did I
tell you all earlier in the season with the time
and dogs about this game? Huh? I told you all
about Tom Brady and what are you gonna do at
home coming off that art terrific showing in San Francisco.
But that's not a Tomic Dogs. This is a straight
up dinner picks, and I want to keep my lead
and get my free dinner from Martin. So this is
a strategical right here. Give me the Bangals right here
(01:58:48):
on the road to cover, so I'll take him into
the Bucks in their timing dog, but in the dinner bets,
give me the Bankers right here? Uh? To win this
game into cover too much offense? I don't love that
what you just did, but we'll address that in a
minute when we have more time. Either you got one
more game for us? We got one more? Should they
see good teams cover? I mean great, what is a
good teams cover? Whatever? We got Chiefs at Texas minus
(01:59:09):
four cheens. I didn't know what, let's talk about it either,
because if the Chiefs are a great team, they cover
this four team. They didn't cover it last time. This
Texas team took the took the Cowboys to the brink.
But you know what happens myhomes four touchdowns, zero interceptions,
at least three on the tempt five yards book it
minus fourteen. Lock it in on the Chiefs. No man
(01:59:29):
can take the Texas with this one, with that fourteen
and a half. That team played well last week, and
that defense got some young stars and they didn't even
have Daryl Stinkley. They didn't even Stanley again corner and
I know he's out again, but that means these other
guys that played well last week, we'll play well again
this week. Lovey Smith, guys, keep him as your coach,
get a quarterback, draft price young, and build from there.
I like what this team is doing, and they cover
(01:59:51):
the fourteen and a half tomorrow. I just say take
you everything VJ says with a grain of salt, because
if you listened to him at the back half of
this hour is the Buccaneers listening the back at the
last hour is the Bengals to everything. I love it,
but you know what I do. Love this game right
here in Miami is gonna be uh wow, it's gonna
be a great game. There we go.
