should be right. I'm not gonna proclaim to be a

(00:46):
fortune teller, even though it's felt like that in the
past couple of weeks with Knox Locks. But we'll get
to that coming up next hour. I don't proclaim to
be a fortune teller, and I don't know if anybody
else is feeling the same way I'm feeling. But you
get this strange sense that something odd is going to
happen this weekend in the NFL because it feels a

(01:08):
little bit too chalky, and think, if you just looked
at all the matchups, it feels a little too easy
to go ahead and pick a winner. Like you're looking
at Seattle San Francisco. It's I mean, come on, man,
San Francisco is doing all this with Mr Irrelevant last
pick of the draft. That's just the way this is
gonna go. For the Niners. They're one of the hottest

(01:28):
teams in the NFL. I mean, Seattle does this stand
a chance? Seattle shouldn't even be in the playoffs. If
you listen to some people, feels chalky, and then you
look at the Chargers and the Jags and it's like, man,
Jacksonville is a cute story, but man, the Chargers are
on the rise. I mean, justin Herbert's the guy feels

(01:50):
kind of chalky. Same thing with Dolphins Bills. Just feels like, man,
everything is set up in plays for the Buffalo Bills
and you just you go through all these matchups and
it just see hims pretty easy to go ahead and
pick these I just get this weird feeling that something's
gonna go wrong, something's gonna happen, something's gonna go down

(02:12):
that we don't expect, and you're already starting to see
little things like little plot twists being thrown in Seattle,
San fran Basically, it's a monsoon, which I think would
be the second monsoon the Niners played in this season.
They opened up the year at the Bears, and that
was absolutely a disaster. Trey Lance looked awful, boat teams

(02:33):
didn't look all that great, and the Niners lost that game.
But it was the weather. But you're looking at some
of the conditions, some of the early pregame reports on
television where they're live at the stadium there at Levi's Stadium.
That's a problem. And I know the Niners run the
ball as well as anybody in the NFL, and that's
what their offense is built around. But all of a sudden,

(02:55):
you mix in weather like that and it makes things
a little bit more interesting. And then of course we
see what happened with the Chargers and the Jaguars and
the Brandon Staley controversy and Mike Williams and all that stuff.
It just feels like there's already been a couple of
wrenches that have been thrown into things, and it makes
me wonder if we're gonna see some strange things happened
this weekend in the NFL, because I'm starting to get

(03:16):
that feeling. Jonas knocks Fox Sports Radio. All right, so
let's get into this. You ever done something that you
thought was a really good idea at the time, and
then you found out it could have been years later,
weeks later. Probably should have thought that one through, you know,

(03:38):
like like maybe I should have thought that one through.
Like if you got a bad tattoo, you know, one
of those tattoos you look back on and go, what
the hell am I thinking? Trust me, I got two
of them. I look at them every day and go, dude, seriously,
I mean, I know you've never done crystal meth, but
you're totally sure you haven't, are you? Are you absolutely

(04:03):
positive you weren't sniffing glue in the parking lot before
you walked into a tattoo parlor and said, you know
what I'd like, I'd like my band's name on my
arm with a thorn band wrapping it together underneath. Yeah,
that's a great idea. That's awesome. Tryansplated that one to

(04:24):
your mom when you get home, Mom, Look what I got?
What's that a diploma? Nope? Cool. Uh, why don't you
go ahead and sit out back with the dogs for
for a couple of hours and think about that one
while you're bleeding out of your arm. Listen. Sometimes sometimes
you just do these things and a get they just

(04:46):
they feel like great idea. I had a lebrette piercing. Right,
this is like full disclosure. I had a lebrette piercing.
So it's like that little piercing underneath your bottom lip,
and it was like, you know, that was like the
cool thing back in the day, you know, like you
get these lebrette piercings. Then I remember going in for
a job interview and they looked at me like, dude, uh,

(05:07):
this isn't hot topic, Like what are you like trying
to be like may serious, like Marilyn Manson with short hair.
What are you doing? Dude? Let go somewhere else. This
this isn't gonna work here. It's like all those things
seem cute in real time, and then you move forward
in life and you realize, not the greatest idea in
the world. Now we've got to clean things up. Gotta

(05:29):
start being an adult a little bit, all right. I
gotta start covering up the tattoos. I mean, I swear
to god, I walked into a waffle house, This hundred
percent true story. Walked into a waffle house with Brady Quinn.
We were at the the the horse races alright, getting
getting ready for the Breeders Cup, and I said, hey,

(05:51):
before we go to the track, this is a few
months ago. Before we go to the track, let's go
and get a coffee. So we're in a south We're
in Kentucky. I love me some waffle house coffee. We
walk into a waffle house and the guy says to us,
what are you guys going to prom? Because we were

(06:12):
dressed up, which was funny. The other funny part of
that was this guy looked like he had fallen asleep
on a box of crans. And I'm thinking to myself,
hey man, at no point did I ever consider getting
a face tattoo. But you did, and I guarantee you
as much as you like those. You're walking around maybe

(06:34):
a day here, a day there, and you're thinking to yourself,
that wasn't a great idea, Like in real time, these
things seem cool, but then you get to real life
and you go, yeah, I probably should have rethought that one.
I think the NFL has found themselves in this spot.
Let me explain. So I used to believe, and I
still do believe, that the NFL didn't mind bad officiating.

(07:00):
They didn't mind bad calls, you know, egregiously bad calls.
The NFC Title Game, Ram Saints, the p I that
wasn't called, the all that Listen, the NFL clearly heard
the complaints, and so the next year they put in
a rule that you could challenge past interference. And that
was a disaster and and and nobody wanted to really

(07:22):
go along with it as far as officials go, and
coaches just gave up at that point. But that right there,
egregious enough. The NFL had to do something. But when
it comes to these other things that are judgment calls,
these other things that the end that you hear people
being outraged by, I'm a firm believer the NFL doesn't
really mind those all that much, and they haven't minded

(07:43):
all those that much for years now, because it keeps
the conversation going, Because you can literally build an entire
sports talk radio show, or an entire segment on television,
or an entire conversation with your buddies arguing about a call.
You can do that. The Dez Bryant catcher, no catch.

(08:06):
I saw it. It was like the anniversary that came
up a few days ago. People are still debating that
they were. They started debates on Twitter again. Now that
was a catch. No, it wasn't. Yes, it was he
had control, he rolled over. That was a touchdown that
ruined the Cowboys chances. Blah blah blah blah blah. Never
mind the fact the Cowboys gotta break the week before
against the Lions in that playoff game. But you know,

(08:26):
we forget all that. But you can, like, the NFL
doesn't mind this stuff for years. The NFL, I think,
is almost leaned into it, and we can sit there
and say, well, it's a disaster and it's a bad
look for the league. Is it really a bad look
for the league? I mean the amount of money that's
flown into the league lately. I mean, it's as hot

(08:48):
as it's ever been. You know, the ratings that Monday
Night football between the Bucks and Cowboys are gonna do.
I mean, the the NFL is in a great spot,
so they sort of le an into it. But I
think the NFL has found themselves in a place where
it seemed cute in real time and now years later

(09:09):
you're finding out when you gotta go get a real
job or got to go into real life and be
an adult. Yeah, maybe we should clean those things up.
So there was a report out from Adam Schefter that
said that people are not happy with the officiating in
the Seahawks Rams game to finish out the regular season.

(09:30):
There were multiple incidents in that game where you looked
at and said, wow, that was a bad call, whether
it was the roughing the punter or the personal foul
on Jalen Ramsey. But then we'll go ahead and look
the other way on DK Metcalf taking a swing at
Jalen Ramsey and Jalen Ramsey flopping on the ground. Like
there's there's all these little things that are popping up

(09:52):
in that game in the NFL, and people within the
NFL like, yeah, you know, we're not happy about all
that stuff. We need to clean all that stuff up,
you know, we this stuff needs to be addressed. That's
an unfortunate situation. Now, if you're a Detroit Lions fan,
you're piste off because if that's the case and Seattle

(10:15):
loses that game, which you could argue they probably should
have Detroit's in the playoffs after what they did to
Green Bay on Sunday Night football. But isn't it funny
how the NFL is now coming out and saying, you
know what, we listen and you know, we're unhappy about
that game. You know we're unhappy about the results of
that game. Etcetera, etcetera, etcetera. Let me tell you what

(10:36):
that's code for. That's code for. Yeah, a few years ago,
we could kind of get away with that and have
it be cool sports stock radio fodder and people could
debate it and all that stuff. But you know what,
it's time to grow up a little bit. And growing
up means if you're going to take a bunch of
money from gambling websites and gambling companies and let that

(10:58):
into the league and let the billions or billions of
dollars of gambling revenue help grow the game and push
the game forward, you've got to be an adult and
you've got to do it on the up and up.
And if these gambling companies, and I've said it before,
and people can dismiss this as much as they want
and say no, no, no, that's a small portion of

(11:19):
the NFL. My ass integrity is everything, and the second
the integrity of the sport starts to get question. With
situations like this, people are going to have a problem,
especially people that have dumped a bunch of money into
the game and a bunch of money into the league
to try and help you get to the places you are.

(11:40):
So it's not all that surprising that the NFL is
now starting to take a more serious look at this stuff.
You could go back you as a fan listening right now,
whoever your favorite team is. I guarantee you you can
think of one or two times during the course of
just this year or last year that your team got

(12:02):
screwed over on a call. I guarantee you one or
two are popping up front of mine right now, just
with me saying that the NFL is now going to
start to take this stuff seriously. You think that's just
they just happened to pick this day of all days,
as we get ready for wild card whe No, listen,
that one, that's the one we gotta look at. Bro.

(12:24):
You can go through every game of the regular season
and probably find more egregious officiating than that stuff you
want to look at all the roughing the pastor calls
from this year Chris Jones strips Derek carved the ball
and still gets called for roughing the passer like like
you want to go through to you the entire year.

(12:44):
The reason the NFL is now quote unquote looking at
this stuff and unhappy with this is because they've now
got an adult in the room, and the adult is
the gambling companies, and they're saying, Hey, if you want
to be doing business with us, you got to do
it on the up and up. And that's why the
NFL is now taken a quote unquote more serious look
at all this stuff. Jonas Knox Fox Sports Radio, get

(13:07):
me on Twitter, at the Jonas Knocks at the Jonas
Knocks on Twitter, and you can hang out with us
as always on the I Heart Radio app. By the way,
we're gonna have the usuals coming up later on. We
got another edition of Do You Care. We've also got
some Knox Locks, We've got the scraps. It's all yours
as we take you all the way up until four
pm Eastern time, one o'clock Pacific. But coming up next though,
there was a story that popped up in the National

(13:28):
Football League over the past twenty four hours, and um,
if you've seen this situation before, if it felt like
you had seen something similar to this before you have,
I'll explain what that is right here on Fox Sports Radio.
Fox Sports Radio has the best sports talk lineup in

(13:48):
the nation. Catch all of our shows at Fox sports
Radio dot com and within the I Heart Radio app
search f s R to listen live. All right, this
is Jay Glazer. And you may know me for the
world of football or fighting or even shows like hbos Ballers.
Well you don't know is for my entire life. I
have lived in something I refer to as the grey

(14:10):
depression anxiety. So now I'm coming out with a new podcast, Unbreakable,
a mental health podcast with Jay Glazer, where each week,
while we talk about mental health, I hope to describe it,
give it words. Listen to Unbreakable with Jay Glazer on
the I Heart Radio app, Apple Podcasts or wherever you
get your podcasts. You're an idiot, Sam freaking By the way,

(14:41):
I always say, it's got a lot of balls. Criticizing
anybody's tattoos, the fact that you've got a crop circle
on your back, You've got a lot of balls. Huge
crop circle takes the entire back like that's Steve oh portrait.
It's got a silo on his in our arm. Right,
he's gonna sit here and criticize anybody for it. I

(15:03):
got Iowa theme tats all over me, by the way.
At some point, but Jonas knocks here Fox Sports Radio
at some point, are you're gonna explain why all these
athletes are gobbling up land in Iowa? What's that about?
Can you give a quick, like thirty second explanation as
to why Joe Burrow and Kevin Durant or whoever else
these guys are. Blake Griffin Iowa? Yeah, Blake Griffin, Can

(15:24):
you get like a quick thirty second tell me why
why that's happening? Uh, it's a great return. I mean
it's expensive to buy land. It's a great return your investment. Uh. Really,
land is finite, right, there's only so much of it,
and it really doesn't go down and value it can
if there's the economic conditions are are the right? Um?
But otherwise it's a really good investment and they can

(15:45):
lease that land of farmers and then they make they
make money back every year. So how about that. It's
a huge investment. Hey, we got a live studio audience,
and you're out of applause for Iowa Sam here. I mean,
just listen. I mean they you know, dodging the rain
drop here to a plot. Iowa Sam for clearing up
that confusion. That's how it's done right there. The Chinese

(16:07):
are doing it. The Germans are doing it. The Germans
they're buying our our our dark you know, our our
black gold farmland. Well, that's the company you want to
hear for sure. Definitely like to be cutting checks to
the Chinese and the Deutsch over there. Of course. Uh
it is Jonas Knox here Fox Sports Trading, by the way,
coming up in about ten minutes from now. Uh, there's

(16:29):
a story, of course, this story is out there. Of course,
we just can't let it go. Everybody's got a chime
in on it. Everybody's got to have a thought or
a take on it. So we'll hear from the we'll
hear the latest on this speculation about this NFL player
coming up here at about ten minutes from now. I
want to get to this though, because um, everybody could

(16:50):
have told you that there was something a little bit off.
All you had to do was pay attention all you
had to do was watch and pay attention, and you
would have known something was off in the NFL. It's like,
there was these videos going around after the World Cup
where salt Bay, I don't even know what the guy's

(17:12):
name is, salt Bay was taking pictures with like the
World Cup trophy and making these weird faces, and everybody
was really getting creeped out by him. Like yet all
these soccer players going like, dude, why is this guy here?
Why is he holding our trophy? Why is he on
the field? We don't understand? And everyone was like running

(17:36):
to social media going, oh my god, this is the
weirdest thick of the world. It's like, oh, you don't think, huh,
this guy is a terrorist. This guy let's that. I'm
not willing to go that far, Okay, but you don't
you don't think you don't think it was a little
bit strange when the guy was going from dinner table
to dinner table, letting salt drip off his elbow on

(18:00):
the stakes, Like, you don't think that was a little strange.
But the weird, the weird looks, the guy, the guy
making the weird faces holding the trophies at the World Cup.
That was strange. Everything else was normal. Hey, you know what,
Let that guy in the ponytail with the sunglasses in
the middle of a restaurant and the deep V neck
t shirt. Let him walk over to my table, and

(18:22):
could you please have him if you don't mind, whenever
he gets a set, could you please have him drizzle
salt off onto my food like he's got Dan Driff
on his elbow. Could you make that happen please. We'd
appreciate it, because that's what we want in our life.
And this guy was the viral. He went viral, and
then he shows up in the world company's making these
weird faces holding a trophy and everyone's like, God, that's

(18:43):
a little strange. Sure you got it, but but lets
let the guy drizzle condiments off onto your food at
a dinner table while he's wearing sunglasses, a deep V
and a ponytail. But that's okay. This other stuff was weird. Dude,
If you just paid any attention at all watching this weirdo,

(19:03):
you know something was a little bit off. Guy's a weirdo.
If you paid any attention at all and you were
just watching the Chargers Broncos game from a week ago,
you knew this, Yeah, this isn't gonna end. Well, something's
a little off here. Why are the starters in the

(19:25):
game at all, let alone deep into the game? Why
is there eleven minutes left in the football game and
you're just now seeing Chase Daniel take snaps? Why is
that happening? That just seemed odd. And then Brandon Staley
makes an appearance on the Petros and Money Show on

(19:48):
the blowtorch Am five seventy l A Sports this Week
locally in Los Angeles, and he's talking about the Mike
Williams injury, you know, the one to where he had
to get on a cart and had to be helped back.
And Brandon Staley's talking about, well, you know it, uh,
you know, he suffered a little bit of a little

(20:08):
bit of a back issue, but you know, I mean
that just spasmed up on him. But hey, he should
be good to go. So that was Monday. All of
a sudden, Thursday comes around. It's like, maybe he's gonna
be a game time decision. He'll be there, but it's
gonna be a game time decisions. Like okay, well that
seems like it went in a weird direction in a hurry,
and then Friday comes out and it says, no, he's

(20:29):
out broken back. Oh you don't say, I mean, you
gotta be kidding me. Golly g Mike Williams isn't broken back? Man?
I mean, who would have Who would have thunk it?
Who would have thunked the creep drizzling food onto ever

(20:51):
food off a body part in a restaurant? Who would
have thunk it? That guy ended up being a weirdo.
I had no idea. Like, that's the most stunned revelation
of all time. Like, I don't know what the hell
Brandon Staley thought was good was going to come out
of this whole situation. I have no idea. I don't know.

(21:16):
Now his explanation is, well, if you go back and
you look at the Patriots and you look at the
you know, those organizations that I respect. I mean, they're
always playing in these games, they're always doing you know,
I mean you look at that. I mean like that's
you know, that's the important stuff. I mean, this is
these teams and these they've set a standard. Listen, I
get all that. The problem is the Chargers also have

(21:39):
a standard, and you know what that standard is. They're
never healthy. Why do you think Anthony Lynn lost his job?
This This isn't just a this year thing or a
last year thing or a year before. This team has
been gutted with injuries for a long ass time. Philip

(22:03):
Rivers played in an a f C title game with
a torn a c L like Dy've always dealt with injuries.
This has been a problem for years. And so here
you are. You build a little momentum, you're getting into
the playoffs, You're in a meaningless game. You're the five seed,

(22:28):
no matter what, no matter what, you're the five seed.
And Brandon Staley ignores all of the stuff that they've
dealt with and says, I'm gonna play all my guys.
We're trying to set a standard around here. Okay. The
problem is one of your guys broke his back, like

(22:50):
not not a figure speech, broke his back when everybody said,
this is weird. Why are we doing this? Like why
Like Brandon Staley now comes on the radio locally in
l A Monday and says, well, you know, it just
spasmed up on him. Okay, that's what happened, all right,
just spasmed up on him. Okay. I mean the next

(23:11):
time you break a bone. Just tell everybody don't worry
about it. I'll be back. It just spasmed up on me. Okay, yeah,
I mean it's not lined up right, but it just
spasmed up. I mean, how about that Joe Tisman injury?
Remember that one just spasmed up on him. Be sure
about that? Yeah? Positive? I mean you're totally sure because
it looks like one ankles running a post pattern and

(23:32):
the other one's not. So I'm trying to figure out it.
You're totally sure. Yeah, it's fine, Okay, just spasmed up.
And then a few days later, what a stunner. He's
got a broken back and he's gonna miss the playoffs.
Like that's if you've just watched it, you knew something
bad was gonna happen. You just watched the game, You

(23:54):
watched the injury. You saw how he tried to get up,
you saw you needed help to get off the field.
You saw all that stuff. Then now Brandon Staley has
got to wear it. And the issue for Brandon Staley
is this is multiple times he's made questionable decisions as
a head coach, and it doesn't matter that he got
into the playoffs. People are gonna look at this in

(24:15):
the organization and say, is he being reckless here? We
should have been in the playoffs last year, but he
wanted to quote unquote set a standard. Now we're in
the playoffs, we got nothing to play for, and our
best receiving threat gets injured in a meaningless game because
he wanted to set a standard when everybody could see

(24:39):
this doesn't look right. What are we doing here? And
so the way I see it, if the Chargers going
to Jacksonville and they lose later tonight and they can't
get anything going down the field, or Justin Herbert struggles,
who do you think is gonna have to wear it?
You think Justin Herbert and his first playoff game is
gonna have to wear it? Or you think it's gonna

(25:01):
be the guy who took the best receiving threat away
from Justin Herbert because he wanted to quote unquote set
of standard. It was a terrible idea. It looked odd
in real time. And now here we are less than
a week later, and he's gonna have to deal with
the fact that Mike Williams is out of this game
because he wanted to play in a meaningless football game.

(25:21):
At the end, of the season. You're looking at what
is going to be perceived as a firebol offense if
they lose this game. Later on, Brandon Staley might get
clipped because of his decision last week in a meaningless game,
which everybody at real time looked at it and said, yeah,
this doesn't seem right. Jonas Knox Fox Sports Radio, get

(25:43):
me on Twitter at the Jonas Knocks at the Jonas
Knocks on Twitter, and you can hang out with us
as always on the I Heart Radio app. All right,
it's coming up next. There's a story in the NFL
that will not go away. It will not go away.
Nobody's willing to leave it alone. So we'll get to
that for you coming up in just a couple of
moments from now. But for all the latest them around
the world of sports, ladies and gentlemen, make some noise

(26:04):
for the Andre Agassy of Sports Talk Radio, the one
and only Brian Finley. Well, Jonas, that's so appropriate as
we get ready for the Australian Open. It starts on
Monday in Melbourne. But of course, if you do the
math here, Sunday in the States is when things get underway,
So I know you guys. Next week on the two
Bros and a Cup of Joe or two pros or

(26:25):
in a cup of Joe are going to be breaking
that down in its entirety, that matchup and all the
matchups that you've seen. Yea, like when you when you
think about January, when you think about weekends in January,
especially like for Super wild Card Weekend, which I'm not
I refused to call it Super wild Card Weekend because
there's so many backup quarterbacks playing and it's no offense

(26:46):
to backup quarterbacks. It's just kind of taking the lust
out a lot of these matchups. But like I mean,
when you think of the NFL playoffs, you think of
it after you get to the Australia of course. So
I mean, and and you know this, I mean we
do a three hour show during the week, so I
mean that's going to take up all of our four
ye for sure, Yeah, for sure. You'll have guests. You
guys love phoners with Novak You'll be calling in and

(27:08):
and LaVar will be breaking it down with with braiding
yourself and yeah, it's great tennis content. By the way,
have you ever slipped up and called him no Vas?
You never done that? You no, but it's a great name.
But by the way, Jonas, I wonder who that would
piss off. At your height. How many different piercings did

(27:28):
you have? Two? Yeah? I had. I had one on
the and I had the labrette and I almost got
my eyebrow pierced. Why didn't you do that? Um? I
just realized you got enough, dude, Like there's enough going
on all right. You don't have the best space in
the world. You don't need to draw more attention to it.
It's like, you know, like you can do that with

(27:49):
Christmas trees. You can put a bunch of ornaments on
him and it will block out the fact that it
was like the last one left at Ace Hardware. But
you can't really do that with a human body to
a certain extent, or at least with my human body, can't. Yes,
what well said? Well said? So yes we do have.
As we make our way over to football, NFL Wild
Card Weekend is happening in the NFC. Our first game

(28:10):
is at four thirty eastern with those high powered forty
Niners going up against the Seahawks and Gino Smith down
the kick off? Yeah, is it four thirty eastern? And
they have taken the tarp off the field there in
Santa Clara. There was rain earlier in the day. It
stopped for now, although they are expecting rain as the
game commences, and the temperatures game time will be in
the low fifties. And then, Jonas, you know because here

(28:32):
at Fox Sports Radio Radio we ever owned Doppler radar
and we're keeping an eye on everything. Otherwise here we
have our own weather center, and the thunderstorms are supposed
to be a factor at about four o'clock local times,
so that would be in the fourth quarter time frame
of the game, which then could set up for some
potential lightning, as you heard right there, which then would
delay the game even longer and bleed it into the

(28:53):
a f C wild Card game. And again, I'm pretty
good fortune teller, Jonas, as you said earlier in the show,
you are a very good fortune teller. So maybe that
is going to happen. I mean, I hope not. Here's
why I hope it doesn't happen because I want it.
I want the weather to be as bad as possible.
I mean, there's a chance we're gonna lose a snow
game in Buffalo or Kansas City or you know, because

(29:15):
you know the the movement of the a f C
Championship game to Atlanta, Can you at least give us
like inclement weather weather somewhere else. And if we got
to do it at Levi Stadium and they gotta play
in a torrential downpour, I think it's fun for everybody involved,
except for the people in the game. Like I'm looking
for entertainment purposes, and I think it makes for a
better watch. Don't delay the game. Plus, people are just
gonna get more drunk outside the stadium. I was in

(29:38):
a Georgia, South Carolina ninety minute lightning delay and by
the time everybody walked back into the stadium, like you
had people like disrobing, you had like a weird chance
basically what it was, people were annihilated, myself included. So
I just I think it's not a great idea for
everybody there. I think we need to get people in

(29:59):
and let him sit in the rain and let's watch
a rain a rain heavy football game for once. It's
easy for you to say as you're sitting back on
your old raggedy couch with one of those televisions with
an antenna ears on it, and and looking back and
laughing at everybody. And I don't know why we have
to judge. I mean what because because I'm not one
of these these app hoarders. I got a TV with
like seventy tho apps on it and say, what do

(30:20):
you want to watch? Here? Let me go to this
and let me put it back over. Let me hit
input on the remote and let me go here. Old school.
We're here the neck of the woods. Yeah for you
dweeves out there. Yeah. So. And in the neck of
the woods that is Jacksonville. That is our a f
C wild Card game tonight eight fifteen Easter No Mike
Williams Is. Jonas mentioned the the Chargers wide receiver dealing

(30:40):
with that back problem was questionable. It has been downgraded
out and the temperatures are predicted in the low fifties,
slightly cloudy conditions there. I know they have a pool,
Jonas in in that Jacksonville stadiums would be interesting to
see if you get a bunch of people plunging in
there and and doing belly flops. And then I'll leave
you with this, Jonas and college basketball one score there
we go, and uh, you know me, I'd always wear

(31:02):
a rash guard when I jump into pools because I
have that had no confidence in my body image. That's
another story. Kentucky with the Kentucky with a win against
number five Tennessee sixty three to fifty six. Then the
Valls had it, had it within two Jonas on other
minute ago and they blew it. So it's a win

(31:23):
for John Calipari. They've been struggling, but they get the
way with that. Let's get it back to Jonas knocks struggling.
That is a professional broadcaster there who just pretends like
all the sound effects that Sam is hammering through are
are meant to be there, and he just kind of
goes along with it. That is a professional broadcaster that
Brian Finley, It is Jonas Knox. Here Fox Sport Trading.

but it is. Here we go again. Where's Tom Brady
gonna play next year? Right? I mean whether whether or
not you know, he's got a new girlfriend, or whether

(32:08):
or not it's there. I mean, he's got a playoff
game coming up on Monday night. That's not enough. Now
we've got to ask about the speculation that this could
be his final game as a Tampa Bay buccaneer, and
what what it's gonna look. It's like, hey, we got
enough here, guys, there's enough here, Like Tom Brady, rumors
are gonna fuel us through the off season. Don't spoil everything,

(32:29):
all right, learn learn how to not blow through all
your money or your food supply on the first day, Like,
learn how to do that. You ever go to Vegas,
you take it. You take like five hundred bucks with you. So, hey,
I'm bringing five hundred dollars cash, Like I remember I
did that. I went to Vegas. I brought five hundred
dollars cash with me. I was a bus boy at
t g I Fridays. That was like seven weeks worth

(32:51):
of work. And I brought five hundred dollars with me,
And I said, here's I'm gonna do. I'm gonna get
there and I'll bet fifty dollars the first day. And
then I would have if I just portion it out
by the time Sunday rolls around, I should have like
two dollars by nine o'clock at night on the first day,
I was already back at the A t M. Because

(33:14):
I just wasn't responsible, be responsible with the Tom Brady story.
We got playoffs, we got good stuff out there. I
don't need to hear that the Niners are a legitimate
landing spot. I don't need to hear that he could
end up in Vegas with the Raiders. I don't need
to hear all these Listen, I got it. He's not
gonna be in Tampa next year. We got all that.

(33:34):
We've figured it out all right, But let's worry about
that when we get here and pay and stay focused
on the NFL playoffs and wild Card weekend because that's
the main story. Jonas Knocks Fox Sports Radio Get me
on Twitter at the Jonas Knocks. Coming up next, it
is another edition of do you Care? Stories from around
the world of sports and beyond that you've been force
fed by people in the media, We're gonna tell you

(33:55):
the truth about all of them. It's right here on
fs are Jonas Knocks Fox Sports Radio. You can hang
out with us as always on the I Heart Radio
app coming up top of next nowur a little over
ten minutes from now. There's a couple of teams in
the NFL that are perceived to be the hottest teams

(34:16):
in the league. One of them is the Bengals, the
other is the Niners. There's also a third team, a
third group in the NFL that is also one of
the hottest in the league. And you won't hear this
anywhere else on sports radio or sports television. We'll have

(34:38):
that for you coming up again a little over ten
minutes from now on Fox Sports Radio. But right now
it's time for this. There's so many stories in the
world of sports, and most of them are a complete
waste of time m reports. Let's get kinky. Here's some
of the big stories from the last week. But Jonas,
the real question is do you care? And for that

(35:00):
we turn it over to the man with the best
pipes in all of radio, the one and only Danny
G the microphone Throttler. Happy Saturday wild Card weekends. Although
although Finley's got the Australian Open on for Christ's sake,
one other dude that won't be participating, Dr Lamar Jackson.
He took to social media on Thursday, and he tried

(35:23):
to explain his injury to Ravens fans. Needless to say,
the Baltimore organization is frustrated. Do you care? Yeah? I do,
because you have to. I mean, the whole thing is puzzling,
and I'm gonna get into it next hour because you know,
there's more information that is starting to come out on it.
But it's like, I just I find it hard to

(35:45):
believe that he's just not playing because of a contract.
But then the more speculation you hear and the more
stuff you see, it's like, okay, well a lot of
it just doesn't make sense. But nonetheless, now the Ravens
are in a bad spot. They've got to go on
the road at Cincinnati, and they've got to try and
deal with the Bengals and and that crowd in that
hostile environment, and then they don't even know who's gonna

(36:06):
be playing quarterback, So by default you have to care.
Next after all that, Carlos Corea signs back with the
Twins on a two million, six year deal. He said
the ankle in question has never bothered him since surgery
on it. Do you give a rats ass? I don't listen,

(36:27):
the idea that he's gonna have to settle for two
million dollars and also it tops out at two seventy.
So if he does, you know, play this whole thing
through and and hits all the accelerators or whatever else
is in the contract he guarantees and all that stuff,
he's gonna end up with two d seventy dollars. I
know it's not three fifty. I get it. I know

(36:49):
it's not three hundred. The Mets are willing to offer.
I get all that. But he goes back to Minnesota.
He was there last year. Maybe it was meant to be.
And listen, I just think that, you know, for a
guy like that, who has done everything on the up
and up in his career, I think it's good to
see him, you know, land on his feet and and
end up with a you know a couple of hundred
million dollars after it's all said and done. You know

(37:10):
what I mean, it's always done it on the up
and up there that carlos coorea no Shenanigans. What else
we got? After helping to knock the Packers out of
the playoffs, Lions running back Jamal Williams had a strange
interview after the game, first weeping, praising his great grandfather,
and then on a dime, he was no longer crying,
instead cursing all those who bet against the Lions, ending

(37:33):
the interview by screaming this it's all dog around his mug.
Do you care? Now? I do? By the way, I
was watching the interview in real time, and like, man,
there was a lot going on there, but I never
really isolated the final portion of it. But now that
I hear that, that's fantastic. It's a new favorite. Drop now,

(37:56):
dog around this mug. It's I mean, that is phenomenal.
And now here's the thing. The Lions did get screwed.
I was hoping the Lions were gonna make it. But
if you're a Detroit Lions fan for not making the playoffs,
that's as good of an ending to your season as
you could possibly hope for going into lambeau Field. And

(38:17):
then you know, sending Aaron Rodgers off to his postgame
presser with his uh, you know, his weird like stone
cold Steve Austin ring and like, you know, his hippie
outfits and talking about you know what the future is
gonna be, Like I mean, that is a perfect ending
for not going to the playoffs with you the Lions.
Next tomorrow, the Last of Us debuts on HBO. The

(38:39):
world as we know it ends, and there are zombies
that need to be fought off. Do you care? No,
I don't, come on, we got the playoffs going on.
Like I get, I love HBO, but I got a
problem with HBO until you get back HBO boxing, I
don't want to hear anything about new shows, new stuff

(39:00):
that's come out. The end of HBO Boxing was a
crippling moment in the history of HBO. I mean, the
last two true Detectives suck. I don't have time to
watch The Last of Us or whatever the hell this
thing is called. It's all dog around his move. It's
one of the hottest things in the NFL. Nobody else

(39:21):
is talking about it. You haven't heard it anything anywhere else.
I don't care. Sports radio, sports TV, but you'll hear
it coming up here in just a couple of moments
from now. Jonas knocks Fox Sports Radio. You can hang
out with us as always on the I Heart Radio app.
You can find us on hundreds of affiliates all across
the country and wherever the hell. You are making us
a part of your Saturday afternoon. We appreciate you doing so.

Tirerac dot com the way tire buying should be. So

(40:09):
there's been a lot of conversation about the hottest teams
in the NFL. Like if you were to go through
the NFL right now, they always say, hey, you want
to be playing your best football as you head into
the playoffs, all right, you know you don't want to
be struggling when you go into the playoffs. It could
be a problem. And so when you look around the NFL,
you've got teams that are on like long winning streaks,

(40:30):
I mean long winning streaks. The Niners have won ten
games in a row. That's a red hot football team.
The Cincinnati Bengals have won eight in a row. Again,
red hot football team. Even the Bills quietly it seems
like it's quiet because there's been so much going on

(40:50):
with Buffalo. They've won seventh straight. Like like we're we're
talking about like hot teams in the league. Kansas City
has won five in a row, like you're you're seeing
teams that are in a really good spot as they
headed the postseason. And the two teams at the top
of that list, the Niners and the Bengals, those are
the ones you look at. And when you hear about

(41:12):
red hot teams right now in the league, and and
who's the hottest, it's the Niners and the Bengals. That's
a discussion you hear. But there's also another one that's
not getting as much attention, and it won't be talked
about anywhere else except right here in this moment, in
real time. Knox locks. You bet your sweet ass Knox locks.

(41:39):
All the jokes, all the criticism, all of the complaining,
all the ball busting. I heard it from everybody all
year long. Wow, what what what sort of locks are these?
You're under five hundred the entire year. I mean where
I had awful weeks. I called myself out for it.
I I called myself, I criticized myself I said, man,

(42:01):
in the history of Knox Locks, I've never gone below
five hundred my picks ever, and I was well on
my way to doing it. I mean well on my
way to doing it. After Week sixteen, with two weeks left,
I was five games under five hundred. I needed to

(42:22):
go perfect the final two weeks of the regular season
in order to be above five hundred for the first
time all year. And everybody laughed. I heard your jokes,
you ball breakers who listen to this show, harassing me
on Twitter. I saw it. Hey, if I want to
make money, I'll just pick against yours. Hey, all I

(42:43):
gotta do is fade you. That's the way to make money. Hey,
thanks for making it affordable for Christmas, affordable this year.
All I've got to do is go opposite of your picks.
I heard everything. I was atrocious. Brady, Quentin LaVar Arrington
were mocking me during the course of the regular season.
I was terrible, terrible. After Week sixteen, five games below

(43:06):
five hundred. You're making a significant amount of money if
you just got the opposite of me all year long.
And then Week seventeen came around and I went three
and oh, three and oh for the first time all year.
So it brought me to week eighteen and I'm looking around,
going I have to go three, and oh, I said

(43:26):
it last week. I need a perfect week. I hadn't
had been. I had a perfect week all year except
for Week seventeen. I'm gonna need to do it again
when I hadn't done it once all year. I'm gonna
need to do it two weeks in a row just
to finish above five hundred and keep the streak alive.
While everybody was talking about Mike Tomlins never had a
losing record streak. The little engine that could, Knox Locks

(43:49):
was trying to do the impossible, the unthinkable. And so
we went into last week and I had the Bills
minus seven and a half against the Patriots, and it hit.
And then we go to the Ravens and the Bengals,
and at the time, it hadn't been announced that Tyler
Huntley was gonna be out of the game, and so

(44:11):
the line was sitting there at nine and I took
Cincinnati gone. I mean, it's a lot of points, but
I just I don't feel like Tyler Huntley is gonna play,
and I think Cincinnati is gonna be really fired up.
I mean they are going to be rested because they
didn't play a full game. That was after the Damar
Hamlin issue and all that stuff. I said, Man, I
can't go against Buffalo and Cincinnati. So I took the

(44:32):
Bengals and it hit I'm at five hundred and I'm
looking around, going I need action late. I gotta have
one more to pull off the impossible. And not only
did I say the Detroit Lions plus four and a
half was the pick, I said they'd win that game outright.
And guess what happened. The Lions walked into lambeau Field,

(44:56):
stared Green Bay, Wisconsin square in the eyes, and kicked
them in the nuts so hard that Aaron Rodgers is
now contemplating his future altogether. And we did it six
and oh final two weeks of the season. Round of
applause for everybody involved in a strict kiss my ass

(45:16):
to all you people out there that wanted to push
negativity and say you couldn't do it. It couldn't be done.
It was done. And so what are we gonna do now?
We're picking every single game this weekend in the NFL,
and it starts right in this moment. It's all dog
around his mod no no knocks locks. I mean, let's

(45:41):
start with the first game of the wild card weekend.
Have you seen the weather conditions. I mean, good God,
looks like water World. It's pouring rain at Levi Stadium.
There might be a weather delay because of lightning. It
is not ideal at all in any way, shape or form.
And I'm looking at the Seattle Seahawks and They're getting

(46:03):
nine and a half points. I know they shouldn't be there. Listen,
officiating was atrocious last week. The Seahawks shouldn't be here.
I get all that, but they are here, and I'm
getting nine and a half points in these conditions. At
some point, unless he's Tom Brady two point oh, at
some point, brock Purdy is going to show himself to

(46:24):
be a rookie quarterback who's gonna go through some slips.
He's gonna have some misses here, He's gonna have a
bad game. At some point, it's gonna happen. You thought
it was gonna happen in the regular season. It didn't.
And now when competition gets better and there's more at Steak,
we just assume he's going to continue to ascend and
be the next Tom Brady. I'm skeptical in those conditions

(46:46):
getting that many points. I will gladly take the Seahawks
getting nine and a half points at San Francisco, a
game that kicks off four thirty eestern time Today on Fox,
Charger said, Jaguars, I don't feel good about this one
at all. But you know what, when you go six
and oh your final two weeks of the season, you
can do whatever the hell you want. I'm gonna take

(47:07):
the Chargers, even with all the Brandon Staley chaos and
the Mike Williams and all that stuff. I find it
hard to believe that the Chargers, who got absolutely pistol
whipped by the Jacksonville Jaguars early in the season, I
find it hard to believe that's gonna play out again.
I think they're the better team. I do think it's

(47:28):
gonna be a close game. I think the line is right.
When I initially saw it and it was like one
and a half to two, and it crept up to
two and a half in some places, I thought, man,
that doesn't make any sense. And now you're starting to
see the Mike Williams stuff, and there's gonna be some
downs Also, the weather is something to keep an eye
out for, because the Chargers are gonna be playing in
forty degree temperatures. I didn't even know I could get

(47:50):
that cold in Jacksonville. I just assumed Florida was like
the home of crystal meth and warm weather. That that
was my understanding. And maybe a little booger sugar if
you're in if you're in South Beach, depending on where
you are. But again, that's what I knew of Florida.
But here we are, and you're gonna get forty degree temperatures.
I think it's gonna be a good game, very competitive.

(48:10):
You're gonna have Al Michael's back on the call. Little
Al Michael's on a Saturday night. Give me the Chargers.
I don't like it, but I'll take I'll take the
l A Chargers minus one and a half. Dolphin said Bills.
I gotta go Buffalo. Miami has no chance. I'll take
Buffalo minus the thirteen. I mean, come on, man, and
actually it's thirteen and a half. Who cares at another

(48:32):
half point on it? It It could be it could be
seventy five. It's probably still take the Bills. Miami screwed it.
They are significantly worse with two out of the lineup.
You can you can hate onto all you want, you can.
You can, you know, say, he's not just in Herbert,
and he's not Burrow and all these other things, and
they need to get a better quarterback and he can't.
You can say whatever you want about the guy. When

(48:53):
he's in the lineup, they are a significantly better team.
And when he's in the lineup, they play this team
Buffalo very well. They beat him once and then in
December when everybody said in those conditions in a snow game,
Miami was gonna fold. Miami was in that game and
leading that game at times, and to have played fantastic.

(49:15):
So the idea that two is this and he's easier replaceable,
and no, no, no, no, I'm not buying it for
a second. I think Buffalo rolls in a big way.
Give me the Bills Giants, said Vikings, I'm gonna go
with Minnesota. Now. I know it's not the one p m.
Eastern time slot. Kirk Cousins O c D. I get

(49:36):
all that. Trust me. I started that whole thing, all right.
You want to know where that came from? This guy
right here myself and Brady Quinn were calling out Kirk
Cousins for his O c D years ago, well before
people even knew what O c D was. All Right,
we called it out and I get all, I look,
I see that, I see the situation. People look at
point differential, all that stuff. These two teams played not

(49:58):
that long ago, very competitive game. It was a sixty
one yard to win it for the Vikings. But I'm
gonna take Minnesota here. You can actually get this at
two and a half in subspots. In most places it's
a three point spread. I'm gonna take Minnesota because the
Giants are a great story. Brian day Ball should be
Coach of the Year. I'm happy for Daniel Jones. I
love the fact that the Giants are good again. It's

(50:21):
what we need in the NFL. But it's not like
they're great. I mean they got off to that red
hot start. They've been up and down ever since. They've
struggled up and down, like the Washington game. That like,
there's been times where you look at them and go, man, like,
you know, if not for a bad call, maybe Washington
wins that game. And we're having a completely different conversation. Now,

(50:44):
there was a time mixed in there, Like I look
at the Giants and go, great story. But I think
Minnesota is a better team. I think Minnesota's got more
options on offense. I think Kirk Cousins is gonna get
it done. Give me the Vikings minus the two and
a half of the three depending on where you shop,
Ravens and Bengals. I gotta go with Cincinnati here. I mean, listen,

(51:05):
it feels like Baltimore. You know, maybe they'll get Tyler
Huntley back. They've got all the Lamar Jackson drama and
all that stuff. It feels, you know, what, screw it.
I'm taking Baltimore. I just talked myself into it. I
was really I was. I was thinking about going Cincinnati,
and then I just talked myself into it. I think
Tyler Huntley's playing. I think he's playing. I think Baltimore

(51:26):
plays his team tough. I think Baltimore rolled out a
bunch of scrubs last week, going hey man, like, listen,
you know, we want to keep guys healthy, we want
to get some guys back for this game. I'm gonna
take the Ravens and they're getting eight and a half
to nine points, depending on where you Look, it may
take a back door cover. Look, they might be down
nine and then and then roll out Justin Tucker to

(51:49):
kick a long field goal and then try an onside
kick to have one more possession. Whatever it takes, I'll
take the Ravens here. I'm going back on my word
in real time. I'm gonna take the Baltimore Ravens getting
the points. I still they Cincinnati is gonna win this game.
But I like that many points on the road and
John Harbuck can coach his ass off in the playoffs
on the road, one of the best road records in

(52:09):
the history of the NFL. When it comes to coaches,
give me Baltimore. What about Dallas and Tampa Bay? We
got Dallas Tampa Bay, all right, technical difficulties. Give me
the Cowboys. The Cowboys are a two and a half
point favorite at Tampa Bay. I know the big conversation

(52:31):
about Tom Brady and they feel like they're getting healthier,
and everybody's looking at Dak Prescott and Mike McCarthy and
all of that stuff. I just think Dallas has been
a better football team. They haven't been consistent this year,
and they've been more consistent than the Bucks. It's Tom
Brady's final game in Tampa. I'll roll with the Cowboys
and that concludes your wild card weekend of Knox Locks.

(52:53):
What the f Sam, Cowboys? Sorry, minor technical difficult thank you,
thank you, thank you? All right, listen to hey, look,
it's not Sam's fault. I guess I just overlooked that one.
That's listen, because it's on Monday night. You know, we
were supposed to get three and three, but they had
to move it to Monday night, which I wasn't pleased with.

(53:15):
But if you consider the fact that you know, their
Bills Bengals game was kind of taken from them with
the Hamlin injury, you know, there's a little bit of
a mate good going on there with Monday night football.
So there is that a date. It's all good. Sam said,
super this. It's not part of the weekend on Monday.
All right, that's funny. Listen. All that is fair. So
if I lose that one, it doesn't count. All right,
Let's just go ahead and put a stipulation on your

(53:37):
losing record for next weekend. Hey, what do I By
the way, if I go in six, it will be
the least surprising thing in the world with as much
ball washing as I just did to myself to enter
into Knox lots. Speaking of gambling, football fans, be sure
to tune into Fox Sports Radio's Countdown to Kickoff, presented
by bet MGM. It's every Saturday and Sunday morning, three
hours before kickoff. Tune in Saturday mornings at night the

(54:00):
m Eastern Time, and Sunday morning tomorrow at ten am
Eastern time, seven o'clock Pacific. That's tomorrow, ten am Eastern time,
seven o'clock Pacific, as we take you live all the
way to kick Off on Fox Sports Radio and the
I Heart Radio app presented by bet MGM. Alright, so,
coming up next, there is a nightmare scenario in the NFL.
It involves two teams, two division rivals. I'll tell you

(54:23):
what that is right here on Fox Sports Radio, Jonas Knox,
Fox Sports Radio. Coming up, we'll call it about ten
minutes from now. It's one of the hottest stories in
the NFL. It continues to take more twists and turns,
and we've got the very latest on what could end

(54:43):
up being an eventual breakup in the National Football League.
We'll have that for you here again. Coming up about
ten minutes from now. There's also been some stories out
there on the coaching front. Obviously you saw the new
Sean McVeigh looks like he's gonna come back to the
l A. Rams. Not the most surprising thing in the world.
I think I was talking about this week. It Oh,
I thought he was gonna come back for another year.
I don't know how you can leave that as your

(55:06):
final season with the Rams. I mean, they were gutted
with injuries. You could tell early on, yes, they weren't
going to be the same team they were a year.
Like you could tell about halfway through their season opener
against the Buffalo Bills. They were in trouble and it
was a terrible season all the way around. And Sean
McVeigh was obviously very frustrated. And there's been speculation about

(55:28):
broadcasting and all of that stuff to go along with it,
And I do think that's eventually gonna be where he goes.
And by the way, if he starts calling games, he's
gonna be fantastic. He's gonna be fantastic when he starts
calling games. But I'm not surprised to see him wanting
to come back. I still think he's a competitive dude.
He doesn't want that to be the the taste in

(55:50):
his mouth walking away from the league after winning a
Super Bowl. But I do think this upcoming season is
probably gonna be his last year. And then he goes
into broadcasting and he takes some time away and he
does his thing. But Sean McVeigh returning to the Rams
not the biggest surprise in the world. And I do
think they're gonna be better than they were this year,
because it's it's hard to be that much worse, especially
when you got real talent there, like an Aaron Donald,

(56:11):
like in Matt Stafford, who's gonna be back, Jalen Ramsey,
Cooper Cup, you assume is gonna be healthy. They gotta
fix the offensive line that was a problem. I do
think they're gonna be better, and then I think Sean
McVeigh walks away after next year. And then Peter Schrager
of Fox in the NFL network, he's reporting that Cliff Kingsbury, yeah,
he's gonna take some time. That teams have reached out

(56:33):
to Cliff Kingsbury and said, hey, would you be interested
in joining our staff. There's been some speculation about maybe
the Patriots and and what would that be a possibility.
He played for Belichick. Belichick likes Cliff Kingsbury, and apparently
Cliff Kingsbury has told teams he's not interested in coaching
right now and he's going to Thailand. That's that's a

(56:54):
real thing. So Cliff Kingsbury has made a bunch of
money just sign an extension. Money is not an issue.
But that sounds to me like a guy who was
pretty worn out with the Kyler Murray and all the
other drama and the frustration and all that stuff. And
he looked like he was pretty worn out by the
time that season was over. And he's gonna take some
time and he's gonna go vacation in Thailand. So good

(57:14):
for him. That's how you do it, all right. You
just made what million dollars over like a four or
five year stretch, whatever it is. Go to Thailand, watch
some white Thai fighting, you know, like like, you know,
eat some of the local food, right an elephant. I mean,

(57:37):
that's the move. There's some good thie beers out there,
you know, you get into get into tie beers. I mean, yeah,
you know, I won't say that on the air, you
know whatever, Danny just told me, But I mean twenty
dollars for three of them, you kid me try five.
The alcohol is cheap there now, I mean now, the

(57:58):
problem is you do have to check. You know, you
gotta make sure, you gotta confirm that that you know
you're getting what you're paying for, you know what I mean.
There's a there's that out there. So again, I don't go.
I don't know what Cliff's in new but there's a
lot of options out there. So good for Cliff Kingsbury.
He's gonna go do a sing and let's go live
to are. I have a thought on Cliff Kingsbury writing

(58:21):
an elephant to a Muay Thai fight inside Iowa Sam
for the later Sam, No, I'm actually have you ever
had a Singha beer before? Yeah? They're great. Yeah, Singhaw's good.
I don't know it's maybe it's the novelty of it,
but that's a probably the most famous tybeer you can
get great beer. And and it's light too, yes, yes,
yea very good with some pad ties, some spicy. It's good.

(58:42):
I mean a little bit uprated. It's not I mean,
Indian food is better than than Tyfoo. But again I
mean type it's too soggy. You know. It's like like
it's like leaving your cereal at the table for five
minutes too long, Like you go back to you know,
each your remember kicks cereal, Remember, Yeah, Like you go
back to eat your kick cereal and it like falls
apart in your hands. It was it was like you know,

(59:03):
communion bread that you left in your mouth too long,
Like it just falls apart in the in the bowl.
It feels like it's a little bit like type food.
I will pick up this discussion another time, but I
mean it's still good. Uh you know, all that being yeah,
and we will pick up that discussion um during our
coverage of the Australian Open, so we can skip past
all that stuff. But again that's that's moving down further

(59:24):
down the road, all right. But with all that being said,
it is time for the progressive play of the day.
Here's the snap. Davis looking who scrambles aufter the like
gotta get rid of it, throws it to the end
zone and caught it toor nakeds. My goodness, hot acids
with the catch Davis looking throwing to the end soon

(59:46):
caught and converted Jordan Nakeds comes up pick again wide
open as the Texans grab at one point lead. But
fifty seconds ago, thirty thirty one, that was the Texans
radio net work all the call. That is our progressive
play of the day. Progressive makes bundling easy and affordable.
Get a multi policy discount by combining your motorcycle, RV, boat,

(01:00:08):
a TV, and more, all your protection one place bundling
save at Progressive dot com. So that is our progressive
play of the day because I have got a nightmare scenario,
a nightmare scenario that could play out for the Houston Texans.
So you obviously know that the Texans kind of screwed themselves.

(01:00:29):
And now there's some speculation that Lovey Smith knew he
was going to get fired, so he was absolutely going
for the win. And then you know, it turns out
that Lovey Smith is still the best coach the Bears
have had since Mike Dicka. As it turns out that
is still the case even all these years later, since
they fired Lovey Smith, he is still the best head
coach they've had since Mike Dicka. But now the Bears
are picking one right. So here's the nightmare scenario I'm

(01:00:52):
gonna play out for you. The Indianapolis Colts are sitting
at for and the Texans are at too. The Bears
are trading out of that pick, and the thought is
that Bryce Young is going to be the guy that
he's the top quarterback in the draft. And so you're

(01:01:13):
the Indianapolis Colts and you're the Houston Texans and you
both need a quarterback. Now, reports say Indianapolis is not
interested in Derek Carr. They're not going to pursue a
trade for Derek Carr. And it seems like Indianapolis is
going to go young quarterback and they're and they're gonna
roll from there, and they're gonna hope a couple of
things at that quarterback A doesn't retire early and b

(01:01:37):
doesn't sound like Andrea the Giant. That that is what
I am hearing from sources inside the Indianapolis locker room
that that was one of the big problems they had
with Andrew Luck, is that he retired early. And that
was actually secondary the fact that guy sounded like Andre
the Giant. But again, never mind all that, So you've
got this whole situation playing. Yeah, that was that was

(01:01:57):
Andrew Luck actually working the concession stand after his retirement.
But here's the thing. So you've got all this stuff
playing out, and you've got Indianapolis and you got Houston,
and they both need a quarterback, and you know the
Bears are sitting there at one. Well, for the Bears,
you would like to trade back one spot with the
Houston Texans and acquire that pick and then the number

(01:02:20):
twelve overall overall that they got from the Browns in
exchange for Deshaun Watson when they made that when they
traded that weirdoak to Cleveland, you would like, I mean,
if you're the Bears, that would be ideal. But maybe
Houston's looking at that go and that's a little bit
too steep. All right, We're we're gonna We're gonna go ahead,
and we're gonna see whether or not the Bears actually
have the guts to go quarterback or if they're gonna

(01:02:41):
do what they should do and take a guy like
Jalen Carter, a guy like Will Anderson at the at
the top of the draft. Well, here's where the problem lies.
Indianapolis is sitting at four. They're in the same division,
and they both have the same problem. They need a
quarterback and they also need a head coach, because I

(01:03:03):
got news for you, Jeff Saturday is not keeping that job.
So Indianapolis and Houston are in the same boat, and
they both need to find land, and they both need
a quarterback, and they both probably have Bryce Young as
the top rated quarterback in the draft. And you've got

(01:03:24):
a GM and Chris Ballard who's talking about how desperate
they are to find a quarterback, and a GM who
and Chris Ballard who also realizes my jobs on the line.
Everybody around me is gone. I'm still here. This is
a make or break season. And if you're Chris Ballard

(01:03:44):
and the Colts and you really believe Bryce Young is
the guy, you got to make the move. So if
you're Houston, not only do you have to worry about
Indianapolis jumping you in your division with the Airs to
take that quarterback that you desperately won at number one,

(01:04:05):
but you also have a desperate GM in Indianapolis who's
got to make that quarterback work. He said so himself.
So if you're gonna make Bryce Young work in the NFL,
if you're gonna get the most out of him, wouldn't
you want to hire somebody as head coach who was
able to get the most out of Bryce Young, you know,
like able to like help Bryce Young win a Heisman

(01:04:26):
Trophy and do all the things he did at Alabama
and in walks. Bill O'Brien, who's got NFL experience, who's
reportedly looking around for opportunities, and just so happens to
be the best Texans head coach they've had since what

(01:04:48):
Gary Kubiak, maybe even better than Kubiak? What four division titles,
Bill O'Brien. One? Could you imagine the nightmare scenario playing
out for the Houston Texans if not only did they
beat the Colts when they didn't want to and go

(01:05:08):
for two when they didn't want to, but then ended
up getting jumped by the Colts too number one in
the draft to lose the quarterback to Indianapolis again after
they had had to deal with Andrew Luck and Peyton

(01:05:28):
Manning and all of that for years. You lose the
quarterback battle again, and who do they hire to shovel
the last pile of dirt on your grave of this
nightmare scenario but your former coach, Bill O'Brien, to ensure
that they get the most at a Bryce Young at

(01:05:49):
number one. That is the nightmare scenario for the city
of Houston for Texans fans. And I gotta be honest.
You can call me a sit bastard all you want.
I kind of would like to see a play out
just to see the chaos it would cause. Jonas Knox
here Fox Sports Radio and you can get me on
Twitter at the Jonas Knocks at the Jonas Knocks on Twitter.
So we do have the very latest on a story

(01:06:12):
that is running wild in the National Football League. Will
have that for you, but for all the latest from
around the world of sports elsewhere, ladies and gentlemen. I
don't have any more tennis players. It's Bryan family, but
Jonas Knocks, I think you would be a good tennis player,
although I could see more as a pickleball guy so bad.
But you're a bad bitten for sure, table tennis all
of the above. Not a big ping pong guy. You're

(01:06:34):
not a ping pong guy. Not a fan. I'm wondering.
You know, you were talking a lot about what Cliff
Kingsbury is doing and that one way ticket to to
Thailand and Foxes Peter Schrager said this, and that Kingsbury
has turned down multiple offers to be an offensive coordinator
in the NFL. But I would think that, you know,
becoming one with the earth is one thing that Clink
Kingsbury is going to be able to do in Thailand,
a lot of meditation, finding his inner self. I think

(01:06:57):
these all good things. Jonas. Don't knock the guy by
the way. You imagine you got like thirty million dollars.
NFL teams are calling you, going, hey man, we'd love
to give you an opportunity. And this is a guy,
by the way, who lost his job as head coach,
was going to be an offensive coordinator, and then got

(01:07:18):
hired as an NFL head coach, made like thirty million dollars,
and now he's writing an elephant in Thailand. He didn't
need to bring all this money, literally, Like what's an
elephant ride in Thailand? Costs like like two bucks? Five
bucks or something? Yeah, I would say less than five bucks, Like,
you know, many elephant rides you can get for twenty

(01:07:39):
million dollars. I don't know. I didn't ask you, coach, well,
said Jonas. And from that story to what's happening in
the NFL Wild Card weekend, I know you're excited about this,
Jonas under an hour away from the NFC wild Card
game going on. That would be, of course, the forty
Niners hosting the Seahawks kickoff at four thirty Eastern time.

(01:08:01):
Game time demperatures in the low fifties, a serious chance
of rain in the forecast, even thunder storms could be
involved here, and that then brings up the possibility of lightning,
which then would put a delay to the game. But
again we're not gonna think two ahead of of what's happening.
That is certainly what could be presented as far as
the weather is concerned. Also, the a f C wild

(01:08:23):
Card game the nightcap this evening, Chargers at the Jaguars
that eat fifteen Eastern and Elliot wide receiver Mike Williams
is out due to this back injury. And I know
Jonas has been very high on Brandon Stately, the Chargers
head coach in the handling, loves the way that the
team handled the Williams situation. But yeah, he's downgraded out
mismanaged a bit with the back injury, so he's not

(01:08:44):
gonna give it. But I heard about Petros some money
about a M five seventy say, yeah, we dodged a bullet.
It just spasmed up on him and then four days
later it's backs broke, Like what happened in the time
between that? Like, what what was it? But what do
you think happened there? I mean there was rain earlier

(01:09:04):
in the week. Maybe he slipped. Maybe it wasn't because
he played in a worthless games. Let's not believe Jonas.
Let's not forget about the the Chargers doctor who punctured
the long in one of his players. You know that's true.
There's that. There's that too, so so medically, there have
been some issues, some red flags within the organization. And
I'll leave you with this, Jonas, and college basketball, because
I know that you are watching this with abated breath.

(01:09:26):
Here we have a couple of finals to get to,
including how about Kentucky. They had been struggling lately, but
they found a way to win against number five Tennessee
sixty three to fifty six NC State winners in overtime
against number sixteen Miami and on an NFL wild card weekend. Jonas,
how about some NBA. Yeah, that's really what should be

(01:09:47):
leading the headlines here. The Heat are winners against the
Bucks at one eleven to ninety five and Jonas as
I sent it back to you. No, janis to Pekumbo.
He was out with left knee soreness. With that, let's
get back to a man with bulging biceps, sits stacked
and jacked. Jonahs Knox here, Fox Sports Radio. Thank you,
Brian Um. We're gonna have another edition of the Scraps

(01:10:08):
coming up. All right, there's some things in the world
of sports and beyond we've got to address and gotta
get too, so those will be yours coming up here
and now we'll call it about ten minutes from now,
all right. So, uh, the Lamar Jackson story, the drama
surrounding Lamar Jackson. Now we don't know who the hell
is going to play at quarterback for Cincinnati. Now, I
in the middle of Knox locks, I've never done this
before in real time, decided I'm gonna take Baltimore. I

(01:10:30):
just and why because I can do whatever the hell
I want. That's why, all right, I can do what
I want. I'm taking Baltimore. I'm getting that many points.
I'll take Baltimore because I think County is gonna play
and I think it'll be more competitive than it was
a week ago. And look, there were times that you know,
it wasn't again, wasn't a blowout last week at times,
Baltimore was you know a little competitive. But the Lamar
Jackson situation is interesting because you know, he goes to

(01:10:52):
social media and he updates everybody and says, basically, I'm
not going to be playing because of my PCL and
all this stuff. And you know, apparently the Ravens were
a little bit bothered by that, and you know, trying
to you're a little bit confused as to why that,
why that was taking place and all this, and so
now you've got you know, more speculation. I know t J.
Houshman's otto was on up on Game which you can

(01:11:14):
hear before this show every Saturday on Fox Sports Radio
with LaVar Arrington and Plexico Burst and t J. Hush
manz Otta was saying, I know for a fact that
they think Lamar Jackson can play, but he's not playing,
and there's like all this stuff going back and forth.
But the reality is if this is all about long
term and whether Lamar Jackson is going to be a

(01:11:35):
Ravens quarterback or whether or not he's played his final
game in Baltimore, which some people have speculated people are
are forgetting about the no pun intended, the elephant in
the room. They can just franchise him, but they can
tag him. We've seen this before, remember when Dak Prescott
got franchised and it was like, well, you know, they

(01:11:56):
can't come to terms on a deal, and uh, you know,
could this be the end? Did the Cowboys need to
move on? Like you think Baltimore really wants to lose
Lamar Jackson? Are you serious you want an m v P.
They don't want to lose him. This is just about
the money. They're trying to find a common ground. Lamar

(01:12:17):
Jackson wants something closer to Deshaun Watson, and the Ravens
are saying, no, we don't. We don't feel like that's
the case. But as far as the short term next year, look,
I find it hard to believe Lamar Jackson's gonna be
anywhere else. People forget where they were when Lamar Jackson
started playing and where they are now. Like there was

(01:12:40):
the report that the reason they went to Lamar Jackson
when they did is because Ozzy Knewsome was already retiring.
John Harbaugh and them had already agreed it was going
to be his final season and Joe Flacco was moving on.
It was gonna be a brand new era of Ravens
football and they were all going to walk out together.
And then all of a sudden, Lamar Jackson got hot.

(01:13:00):
They made the playoffs, and next thing you know, John
Harbor has got a contract extension, and if I'm not mistaken,
I think he's gotten another one since then, you think
John Harbaugh and that organization want to move away from
a guy who took them from rebuild, two m v
P playoff and a f C contender in the matter
of what four years. Like, it's not a career ending injury.

(01:13:25):
Like I understand the conversation surrounding to a lot more
than this one. This one, I think people are taking
it and running with it way too far. If you're
talking about the immediate future, I don't think he's going anywhere.
I just think they would end up franchising him if
they can't get a deal done. Jonas Knocks Fox Sports Radio,
get me on Twitter at the Jonas Knocks. All right,
coming up next, We're gonna put a bow on this
bad boy. Things in the world of sports we have

(01:13:47):
not had a chance to get to. They are yours.
Right here on fs are Jonas Knocks Fox Sports Radio.
If you missed any of this program, you can check
out the podcast if Fox Sports Radio dot com. It
will be posted up shortly. Also tweet out a link
to that as soon as it is up and running.
Make sure you stick around. Coming up in a little
over ten minutes from now from the entire rac dot

(01:14:08):
com studios Steve Hartman and e from Salam We are
under an hour away from kickoff in the Bay Area.
We got Seahawks, we got Niners, we got pouring rain,
we got Geno Smith, we got Brock Purty. Come on, man,

(01:14:29):
NFL playoffs are here, so those guys will have you
covered here Right now, though, it is time for something
we do on the show every single week to close out.
It's called this Jonas, How could you not get to?
These stories are the scraps? And for that we turn
it over to Danny g to find out what the

(01:14:50):
hell we missed so far? D g al Right, even
more football for your Saturday. Chefty is reporting that the
l A Rams are expected to pick up star quarterback
a few stafford option bonus and salary by the third
day of the league year. The option bonus and salary
will pay Stafford a combined sixty two million dollars in

(01:15:14):
guaranteed money. Do you know, all right, I'm gonna I'm
gonna ask you, uh, you and Iowa Sam. See you
see how close you guys could get here if Matt
Stafford plays out the remaining contract that he's on, which
goes until like two thousand twenty six or two thousand
twenty seven, something like that. At the end of that,

(01:15:34):
if he were to play it out, how much money
will Matthew Stafford have made in his NFL career? I
want to see who gets closer? All right? All right,
I'm gonna say the lines gave him a couple hundred million,
um see, so I'll say I'll say three hundred sixty
two million, okay, Iowa Sam. That's a lot. I think
I'm gonna go a little. I'm gonna go about half that.

(01:15:56):
I'm gonna say hundred in sixty million, all right. If
Matt Stafford finishes out this contract the full terms of
the contract, by the end of it, he will have
made four hundred and two million dollars in his career.
Can you believe that as of as of right now,
he's made three hundred he's made Matt Stafford if he

(01:16:20):
like everyone's like, man, gosh, I wonder if Stafford's gonna retire.
Are you out of your mind? Listen, this guy gonna
try to set records like I don't care. I couldn't
care less whether or not he goes to the Hall
of Fame or not. Danny four hundred, twenty two million
dollars he will have made at the end of his
time in the NFL. He plays his whole contract out,
Holy walking a t M machine. That's Remember remember when

(01:16:43):
they were doing the discussion like who's made the most
in their NFL career or NBA career Kevin Garnett and
Kobe Bryant, and they were always like neck and neck
depending on who would sign the contract. Matt Stafford's in
that territory for two. And it's not like Stafford does
a bunch of sponsors. It's not like he's like he's
you know, Tom Brady and he's doing you know three.

(01:17:04):
Baker Mayfield has done more commercials than Matt Stafford, and
just from football, he will have made fo two million
dollars and he plays it out. Hey man, good for him.
Billion dollars. That's unbelievable. All right, what else we can
all right, finally you can cancel the code blue. The

(01:17:24):
Dallas Zoo say that it's missing leopard was found unharmed
yesterday evening, hours after it had been reported missing from
her habitat Nova. The leopard was missing Friday when they
showed up to work, and so they had to close
the zoo down Friday. A code blue was issued. In
a tweet Friday Friday evening, Dallas Zoo officials said Nova

(01:17:47):
was found just before pm local time, and initial indications
are she is not injured. What about pets in the
neighborhood though, I mean zoo said yeah. The zoo said
it will give an update on her condition and later
today on Saturday. Sam, You're an idiot? Is that? Are
we even sure that's a leopard? Said State Lion. It's

(01:18:09):
all they're all felines. You know, you mentioned showing up
to your zoo job though, and the leopard is missing?
Oh my god, that is that is a terrifying thought.
I yeah, I'm not interested. I will not partake in
any leopard hunts. I'm good or I'd rather have leopard
cy than chase around a leopard in some neighborhood that
escape from the zoo, and let me tell you something,

(01:18:30):
they've been locked up for that long. That's somebody you
want no part of. You want no part of. Running
into that thing on the street, just terrifying.
