Speaker 1 (00:00):
Don't listening the Fox Sports Radio Radio. What a title?
Are you ready? Gardner? The Prince of Darkness? The Prints
of Darkness is in the house. I'm the man up

your speakers like a right cross from a boxer that
you've never heard of. They run through our ass like
through a tin horn man, and we could not stop dead.
Now lie from the tire raq dot com studio. So,
Fox Sports Radio, what are you talking about? What is
this your first day on the job. Here's Jonas Knocks
scanting a fast laying rama the bingo game and running
(00:41):
them all. So is nobody gonna step in and actually
do something about it? Are they gonna actually be good
friends in this entire thing? I'll explain who that is
(01:02):
coming up here. It's just a couple of moments from now,
Jonas Knocks Fox Sports Radio. You can hang out with
us as always on the iHeartRadio app. You can find
us on hundreds of affiliates all across the country and
wherever the hell you are. Making us a part of

(01:25):

Ti irac dot com will help you get there and
unmatched selection, fast free shipping, free road as a protection,
and over ten thousand recommended installers. Ti irac dot com
the way tire buying should be. So, I was thinking
about this because there is a comparison. There's a situation
(01:46):
in the NFL right now that I think all of
you can relate to. Right if you're listening to this
and you're got a buddy, if you're a guy, a gal,
like whatever, whatever the case is, everybody's been down this
road before. You had a friend who has either fallen
for the wrong person or made some bad decisions in
(02:08):
their personal life or in their professional life, and they
just continue to go back and continue to go back,
and continue to go back. And you appreciate and admire
the fight, and you appreciate and admire the dedication and
the love they might have for that thing or that person,
but you realize, at some point, I'm not being a
good friend if I don't step in and let them
(02:29):
know what's really happening. Because it's the old adage love
is blind. You can get so caught up in your
feelings in the moment and be so emotionally attached to
it that maybe you don't make the right decisions and
you need somebody to step in and help you out
a little bit of fresh set of eyes, if you will.
We've all been there. I've had to have friends step
(02:51):
in and say, hey, dude, it ain't working, like that's
not the one, or that's not the place for you,
or this doesn't make sense here. I've had to step
in for people before and be like, hey, man, I
know you really like her a lot and you think
you'll love her, but there's this whole other side that
(03:12):
you don't know about that we all do, and you're
just kind of ignoring. At some point you got to
step in and have those discussions. And I feel like
at some point, doesn't one of Lamar Jackson's friends have
to step in and be like, hey, you're not getting
that two hundred thirty one million dollar fully guaranteed contract.
(03:32):
It's not happening, like isn't Is somebody gonna do that?
At some point is somebody gonna step in and be
the good friend and say, hey, look, we love that
you love that fully guaranteed contract, and that number has
got to be more than Deshaun. It's not happening. That
number is not happening. You're never getting that deal. And
(03:53):
in fact, there's nothing wrong with taking a three year,
hundred three million dollar, fully guaranteed deal and getting another
bite at the apple when you're twenty nine years old.
There's nothing wrong with that. That's a lot of money,
and it's a lot of money you'll never get back,
and it's there for you. That's generational wealth, all there
(04:15):
for you. You can have that now with zero agent fees.
It's yours. Take it. But all we keep hearing about is, well,
there's collusion, there could be some racism going on. The
Baltimore Ravens have done Lamar Jackson wrong. Well, it's so
(04:36):
unfair that he doesn't get a contract. He's a former MVP.
How dare anybody bring up that he's had injury issues
the past couple of years. Nobody wants to step in
and be like, there's a reality to the situation. You
may love that two hundred and thirty one million dollar number.
You may love being fully guaranteed. You may love the
(04:56):
idea that you could actually make more money than Deshaun Watson,
and you deserve more money than Deshaun Watson. Nobody's disputing
that you're a better quarterback and you've done more in
the league than him, and nobody's going to dispute that
the off field stuff is clearly slanted in the direction
of Lamar Jackson in the positive as opposed to Shaun Watson.
(05:19):
I love Lamar Jackson. Everybody you talk to says he's
one of the great people in the NFL. But there
are realities to this, and all we keep hearing about
is people steering the conversation in other directions, trying to
blame everybody else. Nobody wants to step in and be
a good friend and say it's not happening, like, you
(05:43):
don't have to give us any sort of fee. You don't.
We're not trying to be your agent, We're just trying
to be good friends. All anybody's actually done to come
close to that is, hey, stop tweeting. But nobody's pulled
him aside and said, hey, this is the NFL, this
is where the NFL's at I mean, you're hearing stuff
that's coming out that the Bengals are talking to Joe
(06:06):
Burrow about a contract and the structure of it is
going to be similar to Patrick Mahomes, and it's going
to be You've got Richard Sherman, who's bearing Patrick Mahomes
recently on his podcast saying that was a bad deal.
That was a bad deal. Kirk Cousins got a fully
guaranteed deal. That's when you know players should have drawn
a line in the sand and needed to start with
quarterbacks and all. Okay, So is Kyler Murray's deal a
(06:28):
bad deal? Like what about Russell Wilson's Is Russell Wilson's
deal a bad deal? Aaron Rodgers, like all the other
people that have signed contracts since Deshaun Watson. There's a
reason why there's only two that you can think of
that are fully guaranteed, because that's not normally how things
are done. Why, I don't know, you want to call
(06:49):
a collusion, call a collusion. Brady Quinn's been all over
the airwaves trying to tell people there's an escrow issue here.
You've got to have the money you can put an
escrow and if you don't have the money, what are
you supposed to do? Like, they're just realities to this
whole situation, and at no point nobody's step it in
and saying, hey, Lamar, just a heads up man, what
(07:13):
you're doing. Appreciate it. We know you love her, we
know you're fully committed. It's awesome. Man. It's not working
and it's not happening. At some point, somebody's got to
have that conversation, and it seems like nobody wants to.
And I've said this before. If he went back to
the Ravens and said, can you make it one hundred
(07:35):
and thirty five million, they would probably say yes, we
don't want to lose you, we'd like you back, we
love you. But this is what we're willing to do.
And it's not like he's going to have to look
bad in the situation. It's not like he would have
to look bad. It's one hundred and thirty three, one
hundred thirty five million, fully guaranteed. I'll tell you what,
(07:57):
Let me make a fool out of myself and get
a hundred and thirty three million dollars on the back end.
I'm fine with it. It's all there, and nobody's given
that that advice. All anybody's telling him do is just
gassing him up. Hey, keep doing what you're doing. Stand
your ground, keep doing what you're doing. He's costing himself
hundreds of millions of dollars by standing his ground, by
(08:23):
chasing something that isn't there. I just think at a
certain point, much like we've all had to do, you
gotta step in, you gotta be a good friend, and
you got to give real advice, not some of the
crap that's been thrown out there on social media recently.
Jonas knocks Fox Sports Radio. I'll say this, Caitlin Clark
(08:45):
is a full blown savage outstanding. That was fun to
watch what they did. They pulled off the upset, by
the way, twelve and a half point underdogs. For those
of you that are interested, you degenerate, flunky gamblers who
may or may not be also betting on WrestleMania this weekend,
twelve and a half points, you're giving Caitlin Clark twelve
and a half points. She throws down forty one. Now,
she took seventeen shots from behind three Like that's a lot,
(09:08):
you know, it feels like that that's a lot of
shot at TEPS, but she's a phenomenal player. And it
just goes back to something that happened in basketball a
few years ago when Steph Curry started throwing up twenty
five footers like they were a layup line before a game.
It completely changed the game. Literally completely changed the game.
(09:33):
And we've talked about it before. How now you've got
all these youth athletes and these players playing basketball. It's
six seven years old. Everybody wants to shoot from long range.
Everybody's warming up from behind half court and majority of
the people that are doing this aren't capable of doing it,
but they want to be Steph Curry. They can't dunk.
(09:56):
It's not like they're going to go break a backboard
and be big Country Reeves. Steph Curry comes along and
it's like, well, you know, he's not that much bigger
than me, and and he shoots and he has it. Yeah,
I think I could try it. And it's completely changed
the way basketball is played. And the reason why I
(10:16):
appreciate it is because it was always there, it was
always available, and he was the guy that figured it out.
Like you'll see it in music sometimes the band who
doesn't get a lot of credit because people kind of
knock him and put him in a certain genre and
they say, oh, they're they're just this band like you know,
like if you listen to them, oh this is this
(10:37):
says a lot about you. You ever heard of the
band Korn. You think of that band and you go, oh,
rap metal, this is late nineties stuff. They played at
Woodstock and had like a three hundred thousand person mosh pit.
Blah blah blah. You know what they did. They did
something that was available to every single musician, and nobody
(10:59):
ever thought to do it before. They changed the sound
of their guitars. They tuned them down. They took a
guitar you could go walk into any music store anywhere
in the country, and they took it and they tuned
it a different way, and all of a sudden, when
they played guitar, it sounded different. There was something weird
(11:23):
about it. Nobody could figure it out. All they did
was tune it down, and it completely changed the course
of their careers. And you had a bunch of people
afterwards go, oh, we think we could do that, Oh
we could play a seven string guitar. We just tuned
it down. Completely changed the way it sounded. Steph Curry
did that years ago. That was always available. You could
(11:46):
take twenty five footers, you could, You'd probably miss them.
You could throw up that many shots from behind three
like Caitlyn Clark did. You could, You're probably gonna miss
a lot, but you're probably gonna make a few. You
could work on that. That can be a different presentation
of your game, a completely different presentation. And it was
(12:08):
all there and all available, and nobody really thought to
do it, nobody really thought to perfect it. He did,
Caitlin Clark has and because of it, that's the most
notoriety that women's college basketball has gotten in a long time,
and it's well deserved. That was a phenomenal show, phenomenal performance.
And it's about time somebody actually mentioned the great state
(12:30):
of Iowa on this show, because God forbid, we can't
get anybody behind the scenes to talk about that fine state.
So I feel like I'm doing my part. Jonas Knox
Fox Sports Radio. You can hang out with us as
always on the iHeartRadio app here from the tirac dot
com studios. Also, we're gonna have the usuals coming up
later on as we take you all the way up
until four pm Eastern time, one o'clock Pacific. We're gonna
(12:51):
have another addition of do you care, We're gonna have
the scraps. We've also got a very special guest who's
going to be joining us next hour here because there
is a money making opportunity for you this weekend. And
if you've listened to this show before, it is absolutely
a tradition unlike any other. So all of that is
yours as we take you all the way up again
until four pm Eastern time, one o'clock specific a two
(13:12):
hour extravaganza here on a Saturday. But coming up next,
there was some really really good news, some good news
that is going to change the way you experience football
when you go to your next game. I'll tell you
what that is right here on FSR. Fox Sports Radio
has the best sports talk lineup in the nation. Catch
(13:34):
all of our shows at Foxsports Radio dot com and
within the iHeartRadio app search FSR to listen live. All right,
this is Jay Glazer. And you may know me for
the world of football or fighting or even shows like
HBO's Ballers. Well you don't know is for my entire life.
I have lived in something I refer to as the
gray depression anxiety. So now I'm coming out with a
(13:56):
new podcast, Unbreakable, a mental health podcast with Jay Glazer
where each week, well we talk about mental health. I
hope to describe it, give it words. Listen to Unbreakable
with Jay Glazer on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or
wherever you get your podcasts. Jonas knocks Fox Sports Radio
(14:18):
telling you, man, you're gonna listen to Korn and you're
gonna think, you know, I learned something today. That's why
they sounded different because they did something with their guitars,
just like Steph Curry and Caitlin Clark have done. They
did something different with a basketball. They made things possible
for a lot of people. I'm telling you, by the way,
you can hang out with us as always on the
(14:40):
iHeartRadio app. Coming up in we'll call it a little
over ten minutes from now. It is a story that
just keeps on giving in the National Football League, just
keeps on giving, just will not stop, absolutely will not stop.
And I don't know what it's gonna take. Actually I
do know what it's gonna take. I don't know if
it's possible, but we will have that discussion for you
again coming up in a little over ten minutes from
(15:02):
now here on FSR. Here's the the NFL, and we
all agree, NFL's king, all right. Everybody knows that it's uh,
you know, we we acknowledge that the NFL is king.
Everybody knows that the NFL is king. And what comes
with the NFL being king is that you get an
advantage and a disadvantage when it comes to how you
(15:24):
experience the NFL. Right, the television product is phenomenal. The
game day experience me, it depends kind of depends on
where you're at. Now. If you go to some places
like Buffalo where you know, they they you know, they
think you're like a you know, one of those store
(15:47):
brand hot dogs that you get, which is always the
go to in my house. Like you never really bought
the name brand stuff. You always bought the store brand stuff.
And my mom always told me, you know, just check
and see what the ingredients are. If they match up
favorably to what the name brand is, you can save
like three four bucks. I mean it could be anything
for mouthwash to bug spray to uh, you know, tire
(16:09):
cleaner too. I mean, you name it like that my
mom was big into that stuff. She's real big about it,
all right, and she was It was so important to her,
and she cared so much about it, and finances were
such an important aspect of making sure you saved money
and did the right things fiscally, which is why she
was always a huge fan of Discover And at the
(16:31):
end of your first year, Discover credit cards automatically double
all the cash back you've earned. That's right, everything you
earned doubled. Seriously see terms and check it out for
yourself at Discovered dot com Forward slash Match. So we
would be in the supermarket and she would look at
these hot dogs and think, all right, you know we
could buy you know, it's the pack of eight and
they're like seventy nine cents. Well, if you go to
(16:51):
a Bills game, they pretend that you're one of those
packs of hot dogs that you can buy, you know,
with the Discover card if you want to, and they
squirt you down with mustard and catch up and probably
throw some relish on you. Whatever it is. It's disgusting.
You go to what Chiefs game, they're doing tailgates. You
go to certain places around the country the game day
experience is absolutely tremendous. It's fun. But if you really
(17:13):
want to have an honest conversation with anybody and you
tell them what's a better game day atmosphere NFL or
college football? It's college football and it's not even close.
That's just a fact. There's an energy, there's a vibe,
there's a buzz. I've been to SEC games, I've been
(17:35):
to Pac twelve games. You know whatever, the Pac twelve
is going to end up being. Who knows it could
have been packed ten back then? Who cares? All right? Like,
and there's clearly a difference between those two. But if
you go to a real college football town, if you
go to a real college football venue, the game day
experience is way better than the NFL. It just is.
(17:58):
And I love the NFL. Like I said, NFL is king,
but that's just a reality. But when it comes to
the television product, the NFL's unmatched. That really is people's
social life. Like a lot of people think that's crazy,
but for folks out there, that's their social life. They
love getting together, they love watching football on Sundays. It's
(18:21):
the best. It's like the opening day of March Madness,
except you get it for like six months. It's awesome.
The presentation is so good that I would argue, why
would you want to go to a game? Why would
you want to go to an NFL game if you
can get everything that you need at your fingertips at home.
(18:45):
No weights for the bathroom, no weights to get a beer,
no weights to get some food, No way like you can.
It's all right there. Oh and by the way, you
save a fortune. And so the NFL's needed to do
something that they can present to fans they go to
these games to where they can say, all right, we
(19:06):
understand that we can't give you everything from home, but
what if we added a little something to it. And
so this week, when all the other conversations were being
had about Lamar Jackson or Aaron Rodgers and people speaking
at the owners meetings and all that, something that got
done that was actually kind of quiet flew under the
(19:27):
radar a little bit that I don't think people, because
maybe they haven't experienced this, paid too much of attention to.
That I think is really important is the fact that
NFL owners voted to let physical sports books operate at
stadiums beginning next year. Now, this is clearly in states
we're sports sports gambling and sports betting is legal, and
(19:49):
a lot of states, you know, for some reason, they
still think it's a bad idea. Shout out California, way
to vote that one down. Bang up job everybody who
took part in that. My god, what a aster this
place is sometimes. But anyways, so you have this ability
to where you can put an actual brick and mortar
(20:09):
sports book at a stadium, and you're thinking, why would
that make me want to go to a game? Now?
Why would that entice me to want to go to
a game? First of all, why do you go to
Vegas because you want to go to a place where
you can gamble? You ever been to a sports book
in Vegas? It's phenomenal. You sit there like, there's a
(20:31):
sports book in Vegas that's poolside. Now, I forget which
hotel it is. It might be the Wind I've I've had,
I've had buddies that go there. I could be the Wind.
I'm not sure. But the point is you're outside. They've
got a giant screen up in Vegas and you can
sit in a swimming pool and gamble on sports. It's awesome.
(20:55):
I've been going to sports books for years. It is
a hell of a time, and now the NFL is saying,
why don't we bring that good time to your NFL
stadium nearby and you can get the best of both worlds.
It's a win win for everybody involved. It's a no brainer.
The estimated take home is up to twenty million dollars. Now,
(21:17):
obviously you've got to pool that and share that with
the league's other teams, but we're talking an extra twenty
million dollars that goes in your pocket because you're putting
a sports book at a stadium. The idea that this
hasn't already happened and that there are actually a couple
of years behind on this is a little bit insane.
(21:39):
But this is a money maker for everybody involved. And
you can look at it and say, well, if you
go and you're gambling at the sports book, it's going
to take away from people wanting to go to a game. No,
it's not. Have you ever been to a horse track before?
Go to a horse track and throw down some bets.
Does it take away from the experience? Absolutely not. In fact,
(22:02):
it adds to the experience. You walk up to a
sports book and you don't have to go broke. You
can do a two dollar bet if you want. Nobody's
out there, you know, rolling out, you know, a bunch
of one hundred dollar bills and making it rain and
a windows saying God give me, give me the five
horse and race six. Nobody's doing that. Majority of people aren't.
(22:24):
You don't have to get crazy with it, but you
add a little bit of juice in. I always tell
you a sports betting is like the ultimate hot sauce.
It's the ultimate condiment. Right. Your food's a little bland,
Throw some money on it. The game's a little bland.
Throw some money on it. Changes the way you view
the entire thing, changes the entire experience altogether. And so
(22:48):
now the NFL is saying, we get it. We can't
match what you've got going on at home, but we'd
still love you have you at the stadium. So why
don't we do this. Not only will we give you
an opportunity to come and see a game in person,
and come and see a game live, but we're also
going to give you an opportunity to throw some bets
(23:09):
in at the stadium as you go back and forth
from your seat, literally walking to the bathroom or going
to get a beer, and you come back and can
throw a quick bet down. And it doesn't neem to
have to be at the game you're watching. It could
be in any game that's going on on a Sunday.
It's a phenomenal idea. You're gonna look at about seventeen
(23:30):
teams right now who can make this happen because of
where they're located and their states giving them the approval
to go ahead and bet on sports. Those teams are
going to immediately start raking in money. They're going to
immediately see the benefit of all this, and you're gonna
have a bunch of other teams around the NFL that's
going to be knocking on the doors of their local
state politicians saying, hey, we got to change this because
(23:52):
there's a lot of money we're leaving on the table
that these other guys are cashing in on. It's a
brilliant idea, phenomenal idea, a no brainer. Through and through
Jonas Knox Fox Sports Radio. You can hang out with
us as always on the iHeartRadio app right so coming
up next here from the tire rack dot Com Studios.
It is the story that just keeps on giving in
the NFL. It just keeps on giving in the NFL.
(24:15):
We'll have that for you after we hear from all
the latest in the world of sports, from the one
and only, the prestigious, the talented. Oh, that's right, it's
Monsey take you. That's right. How about it? Mons? By
(24:41):
the way, how about that little vamp job I had
to uh, I had to put up there because we
you know, might have the timing was a little off. No,
I didn't get a date. It's been a long time. Actually,
I think it was pretty good. Yeah, I know. I mean,
you're too good for Saturday days. So this is you know,
we're we're a little rusty, trying to tie this whole
thing together. Yeah, do you swear like I get to
pick and choose my schedule. I just am told when
(25:03):
to be here. You're the one with the luxury lifestyle.
I'll tell you this what you told me the other day.
Oh no, I say a lot of things we don't need.
Monty doesn't she doesn't like any hot drinks. Oh, I
don't like hot drinks. Yeah, it doesn't matter. She was
complaining about how cold it was in the morning, and
(25:24):
she's drinking a cold brew out of what looked like
a paint can. And she's complaining about being cold. It
was chilly outside. But no, I don't like warm drinks.
I don't want a warm tea hot chocolate. I don't
I know my gusta. No, no hot coffee. What about soup?
Do you like soup? Sure? Yeah, I don't have like
(25:45):
a lot of soup, but I could. I could do
a soup. Yeah. I just don't like a warm beverage. Never. Wow, never,
even when it's cold out, even when it's cold out. Yeah,
I've been when I was in like Germany and it
was like snowing. I was still, Can I get an
iced coffee? Can I get a cold beer? Please? I can't.
(26:07):
But by the way that, let's see, this was Monsey
describing who she was having a cold coffee with in Germany. Yeah,
right there, that's exactly, That's exactly it. H You mentioned
Caitlin Clark. She is savage. Savage. I actually was texting
Sam yesterday. I texted him at half time when they
(26:28):
were up by one or something, and I was like,
they got this, and she did take a lot of threes.
But you know, if Iowa's if Iowa was going to
go down I needed her to take as many shots
as possible, like you're gonna go down with her going
at it or not. We were talking about this week,
So the betting line was Iowa was a twelve and
a half point underdog. You're taking to myself, why wouldn't
(26:49):
you knowing what she's capable, right, you know, you know
she's gonna take eighty percent of the shots they've gotten
and if she gets hot, that's it. It's not like
anybody else, so she can make up that different easily.
And I just didn't make any sense to me. I agree,
and they just led. It was steady the entire game.
The entire game. Yeah, that was fun to watch it.
(27:09):
It really was fun to watch. Right now, it's not
fun to watch the Astros beating the White Sox, but
that's just me. They just ended the first inning and
the Astros are up to zero already. We've actually got
three baseball games going on the Blue Jays and the Cardinals.
They're still scoreless, but they just got going, and the
Brewers and the Cubs just got going and their scoreless too.
Let's tart a little NBA because Draymond Green is talking
(27:31):
a lot of NBA on Twitter, he won't be quiet. Actually,
the NBA and the Players Association have tentatively agreed to
a new seven year CBA that will go into effect
next year. It's going to run through the twenty twenty
nine twenty thirty season. He has a lot to say.
One of the things he's upset about is there's going
to be an in season tournament, and the Athletics says
that whoever wins, the player is going to receive five
(27:51):
hundred thousand dollars. Every player wins the in season tournament.
Draymond tweeted what it was originally one million. So I
guess he's upset that He's upset about many many things,
but that's one of the things he tweeted. And the
deal also includes a sixty five game minimum for postseason awards,
which I think is a little low. SI what you
(28:13):
can still miss seventeen games? Yeah, I mean that's uh yeah,
that's very dutiful, right right, Like it's the NBA's at
some point, people can can get upset about it all
they want. The numbers don't lie, yeah, and the product
is just not what it was and not what it
used to be. So Draymond Green complaining and being upset
(28:34):
about where the It's like, dude, everybody's trying to figure
out a way, like you're trying to put a you know,
a band aid on a gunshot wound. We're trying to
figure out like how we're going to get this thing
back and get it to the level that it once was.
And they're like, you can call it what it is,
But the NFL's king college football's too, and it's a
(28:55):
distant third where the NBA's at, and just the games
different now, the game has changed and the load management
stuff people are all so annoying, so annoyed of it. Yeah, well,
we might see Joe Burrow get a contract before Lamar Jackson.
I wouldn't be surprised about that. But apparently head coach
Zach Taylor says that they've already opened up extension talks.
There was a story yesterday and CBS Sports that they're
(29:17):
actually going to keep these talks close to the vest.
So we might just hear, yes that we might just hear,
oh guess what he's been extended. This is it. We
might not get a lot of the information that we've
gotten like with Lamar Jackson. So they're already in the talks.
He has one year left on his rookie contract, and
they're saying it could be something similar to what Patrick mahomescott,
(29:40):
which was ten years, four hundred and fifty million. Well,
you gotta be careful. Richard Sherman's not happy about that contract. Well, oh,
I care so much about Richard Sherman. Oh well, how
look at that Richard Sherman catching a stray from Monty Vala. Say, Jesus, hey,
rufols game back to you ch It is, by the way,
(30:02):
April Fool's Day. It is the annual Iowa Sam brings
a prop into the studio. So of course, and uh
there's probably a whoopee cushion line around. Uh if you
go to open up the plaza, a skeleton will fall
on the ground. Like it's just it's all the good stuff,
like flaming dog crap out in front of the front door.
Like I feel bad for Iowa Sam's neighbors. They're gonna
(30:24):
get dingdong ditch later, They're gonna get toilet paper in
their trees. Jonas, I had one of those. I had
a bucket of water above the door ready for when
you walked in. And it's gonna dump it on you,
does it? It would die like confetti falling from the ceiling.
It would not Yeah, that would whatever. I'm disappointed that
you're not here to meet your fate, your April Fool's
Day fate. It's on purpose. Okay. Do you know how
(30:45):
many of those I've met? How many times I've met
the fate of Iowa Sam? Five? Seven times? Yes? At least? Right,
I don't I don't need another whoopee cushion under the chair,
all right, I don't need. I don't need more than
I don't need, you know, fake vomit? Can I just
tell you, Jonas that I drove like an extra twenty
five minutes out to a mall to a Spencer's gifts
(31:06):
and they did not have any practical jokes or pranks.
And I was very disappointed. What do you mean you
go to there's the hardware store right by my house.
I got whoopee cushions for days. It's like a whoope
cushion pinata. I didn't think of going to a hardware
store for practical jokes unless you got to prepare better
pray April Fools. Tell well, Steve Hartman's in for something later. Awesome. Mother,
(31:27):
gonna not be any fake feeces on my rundown. All right,
get together, you guys, try being professional for once. No. Um, yeah,
that's who wants to do that. That's not fun. It
is Jonas Knocks Fox Sports Radio. So yes, the whole
crew is here. We're gonna be having a good time
all the way up until four pm Eastern time, one
(31:48):
o'clock Pacific. Also coming up next year, we are gonna
have another edition of Do You Care. This is where
we get to tell you the truth and be brutally
honest about several stories in the world of sports. For
some reason, people think are actually important stories and they've
been force fed to you for multiple days in a row.
We'll be brutally honest about all those coming up here shortly.
I will say this though, this is the story that
(32:10):
keeps on giving. Now, there's a couple of stories in
the NFL to keep on giving, you know, like Dan
Snyder and the Washington Commanders, because we keep hearing, Oh
my god, it's it's where there. It's imminent. The sale
of the team is imminent. All right. I don't believe
it when I see it. Okay, you got a couple
of you know, six billion dollars bids for the commanders, okay,
and then I thought he wanted seven. So all that's there.
The other one is Odell Beckham Junior, the latest the
(32:36):
Jets are having real interest. The Jets have got real
interest in Odell Beckham Junior. There's a obviously the Aaron
Rodgers appeal is there. They want to play together. They
want let's just go ahead and wrap this up. Like
if we could just go ahead and wrap this up
and get this deal done for the sake of everybody involved,
Let's go ahead and make this happen, because this is
(32:57):
going on close to a year at I mean, at
some point we gotta go ahead and close the door
and just let's move forward and like start focusing on
what next year is going to be, because like now
that we see that there's still no deal done and
it's still just interest. And he shows up at the
(33:19):
owners meetings and everybody there's like a video surveillance of him.
He gets out of the car at the owners meetings
and Phoenix, and it's like, oh, Odell Beckham's junior arrived
to the owners meetings and Phoenix, what does that mean?
Who could he be? Meeting with he lives nearby. I
don't know, but I don't know. What do you think,
(33:41):
Like I live near a seven eleven, Like if I
walk in there to get it, get a slim gym
and a carton of Marlborough Red's, is it newsworthy? Like
what are we doing? So so this coverage of it,
like like when you see that he still hasn't signed,
and it's all rooms and all the other teams that
(34:01):
could be interested and all isn't it doesn't this just
go back to how bizarre Week one of the NFL
season was like like wasn't like now that you see
that we're still at this point, doesn't it seem insane?
What we were talking about the first game of the year,
Week one of the NFL season where Odell Beckham Junior
(34:25):
came out and said that he planned on signing with
whoever won the Bills Rams game. I didn't even remember that,
Like who thought of that? Why did he? Why did
we cover that he's still not signed? That was September,
(34:47):
you know, back when the Rams were like defending champs
a long time ago, Like that was like that was
that was well before the La Rams started. Some guy
that looks like Gary Oldman at quarterback, Like that was
a long time ago, long time ago, like and we
(35:10):
were having that conversation then and still not signed. So
I'm just trying to figure out, at what point can
we just wrap this up, Like, let's wrap it up,
let's move forward. Sign with the Jets. Signed with the
Toronto Argonauts, signed i whoever whatever it is, or the
Calgary step Sam Peter is still around, Sign with them.
(35:33):
I mean the state of Iowa's on the map, Caitlin Clark,
you know Iowa? Sam like is there, like you know
the Silo Surge. Are they like a minor league football team?
I don't know, like, sign with them. Just get it
done with. Let's wrap this thing up and let's everybody
move on because this has been dragging on for way
too long. Jonas Knox Fox Sports Radio, get me on
(35:54):
Twitter at the Jonas Knox at the Jonas Knox on
Twitter and again you can hang out with us. Is
always on iHeartRadio app as well. But coming up next
that we're going to give you the brutal honesty, the
truth about several stories in the world of sports and beyond.
It's another edition of Do You Care and at yours
right here on FSR. You can't handle the truth. Jonas Knox,
(36:14):
Fox Sports Radio. I'm getting harrassed. I'll tell you. I'll
tell you what I'm getting her asked about coming up
top of next hour, so we'll get into all that
I'm getting oh man, just unbelievable. You could listen to
this show as always on the iHeartRadio app if you're
listening on one of our hundreds of Fox Sports Radio affiliates.
(36:37):
We appreciate it. Thanks for making us a part of
your Saturday. We will take you all the way up
until four pm Eastern time and one o'clock Pacific and
coming up top of X now or a very special
presentation an opportunity that you didn't probably know existed to
make money in the world of sports this weekend, and
it's yours again. We'll call it a little over ten
minutes from now here on FSR. By the way, we
(36:58):
are brought to you by Discover. At the end of
your first year, Discover credit cards automatically double all the
cash back you've earned. That's right, everything you've earned doubled.
Seriously see terms and check it out for yourself at
Discover dot com. Forward slash match. There are so many
stories in the world of sports, and most of them
are a complete waste of time. MS your reports, then
(37:18):
let's get kinky. Here's some of the big stories from
the last week. But Jonas, the real question is do
you care? And for that we turn it over to
our executive producer Bo Benson to find out what the
hell's going on? Bow Well, Jonas, Anthony Davis of the
Lakers dropped thirty eight points last night on the Timberwolves,
and the Lakers moved to above the five hundred mark
(37:39):
for the first time this season. Feels like the first
time in a decade, Jonas, do you care about this one? Oh? No?
This is again again, Like this is exhibit a of
why the NBA is just melting and everybody's looking around
going what happened to this league? Like? What happened to
this this sport? What happened? Uh? It's like, are the
(38:00):
Miami Heat also getting a ton of coverage because they're
the seventh seed? Two? I was just wondering here the
Miami Heat getting getting any press, any notoriety, But you know,
the Atlanta Hawks or one game under five hundred, when
they get to five hundred, same with the Toronto Raptors.
Are we going to all of a sudden, you know,
have these headlines run on ESPN and some of these
other websites. I'm just I'm just fascinated by how this
(38:20):
coverage works. Next, tomar Hamlin of the Bills told Joe
Biden that he does indeed plan on plane again after
his horrific collapse on the field last year. Do you care, yes,
because something, something tells me that the NFL's really hoping
that he plays. They're really hoping he plays because if
(38:44):
all of a sudden, somebody else gets in his ear
and says, you know, Tamar, let's go ahead and take
a closer look at what actually happened. You know, let's
let's let's look at some of your recent medical history.
We feel like maybe this could go down a dark
path here. And and so if you're the NFL, you are,
I think you're really hoping that he plays, because it
kind of takes you off the hook for what a
(39:05):
lot of people are suspecting may have been a little
bit of an issue that could have played a partier
just saying that is what I've read. I don't know.
I'm not a doctor, but that stuff has been floated
out there. Next. Jaguars owner Shot Khan believes that the
team has cracked the code for sustained success. Do you care? No,
I don't care. I really listen. How'd you cracked the code?
(39:29):
What were you and the boys playing Marco Polo and
the swimming pool up top at your stadium and you said, ah,
I know what it is. We finally figured it out. Hey, guys,
everybody gather around. Here's what we've figured out. Let's simultaneously
also own a soccer team and let our son run
(39:49):
a wrestling company. Like, let's do that. Like, that's how
you cracked the code. Oh, we're going to continue to
keep playing games in London next. Yeah, it turns out
you need a good quarterback to be good in the NFL. Oh,
what do you come on? Geez? Taking shots? Jonas? It's
April fools Day and I gotta say that this holiday
really stinks. Does anybody care about April Fools Day outside
(40:10):
of Sam? Well? Yes, because people still do the same
cheesy lame jokes that you know are jokes, and they
still try and pull them off. Yeah, it's almost to
the point now to where you like now is when
you if you want to tell somebody something legitimate, like
(40:33):
now is that everybody thinks you're full of crap, Like
everybody thinks everybody's full of crap and everybody's lying. If
you want to tell something like if you want to
break up with somebody, today's the day you do it,
because you can get a laughed and they'll go ha
ha ha, April fools. And then you can say what,
you're not taking me seriously? And then you slam the
door and you never talk to them again. Little advice
here to end the hour. Three games going on right
(40:54):
now in Major League Baseball. They are all in the
third inning. The ass Shows are beating the White Sox
two to one. On the Blue Jays and the Cardinals
are scoreless, and the Brewers and the Cubs are scoreless
as well. In other baseball news, the San Diego Padres
have signed infielder Jake Cronenworth to a seven year extension
worth the reported eighty million dollars, and the Braves confirmed
(41:15):
today that their ace Max Freed will require a trip
to the i R after injuring his hamstring on opening Day.
The NBA and Players Association have tentatively agreed to a
new seven year CBA that will go into effect next
year and run through the twenty twenty nine twenty thirty season.
The deal includes a sixty five game minimum for postseason
(41:37):
awards and an in season tournament, and the NBA did
suspend Milwaukee's the Nassis Onto Tecumpo one game for headbudding
Boston's Blake Griffin during a game on Thursday, I'm mons, Belanios,
are you ready? The prints of darkness? Of darkness is
(41:58):
in the house on the right, up in this face,
Jonas Knocks. I don't shink choosing the more cheap that well,
by God, Jonas Knocks is coming through your speakers like
the right cross from a boxer that you've never heard of.
They run through our ass like through a tin horn man,
and we could not stop the bed now lie from
the ti iraq dot com studio. So, Fox Sports Radio,
(42:20):
what are you talking about? What is this your first
day on the job. Here's Jonas Knocks scatting a fast
lay ramon on a bingo game and running the roll
Jonas Knocks Fox Sports Radio. You can listen to This
(42:44):

opportunity for you to make money in the world of
sports that you probably didn't even know existed. If you've
listened to this show. It is a tradition pops up
a few times every single year, and we're going to
(43:26):
get into that here coming up in a few minutes
from now. So I want to make sure everybody's prepared.
Get out your checkbooks, your bill folds, all right, which
is an old school term. That's when my dad used
to call a wallet back in the day. He called
it a billfold, all right. So I feel like we
could bring back the term billfold if we want to.
I mean now with this, you know cash list stuff
(43:47):
that a lot of people are rolling out. You know,
some people might be a little bit hesitant to go billfold,
but I'm gonna go ahead and try and see if
we can figure out bill fold. Also, I don't know
if anybody remembers back in the day, there'd be those
old school different color velcrow wallets or bill folds from
way back in the day. Through a lot of stuff
in there, there's some people that still rock those, maybe
(44:07):
a fanny pack if you will, all that fun stuff.
But we will get into that fun conversation and fun
topic where, believe it or not, it's a real thing
that you can make money on in the world of sports.
Again momentarily from now, I do want to say this though,
I'm being harassed, harassed to be a social media and
(44:29):
I'm starting to figure out that something may have gone
on while I was gone on a Friday from Brady Quinn,
LaVar Arrington and those that group of hooligans who do
the morning show here on Fox Sports Radio. Because I've
got people that are tweeting me how are the caffine plants?
(44:54):
And I feel like maybe there were some lies told
while I was gone from members of that show. God forbid,
I was hanging out with my son on his birthday. Okay,
had some plans big birthday, real fired up about it.
I thought, okay, like thank you mel. All right. I
(45:18):
said the same thing when my kids saw Winnie the
Pooh and ran over to him like he thought he
was dad. And then that led to a whole other
conversation with the missus. All right, so I don't listen.
I don't want to. I don't want to go down
that road. But point is, yes, I was out. I
don't take a lot of days off, all right. I
don't really like vacations. I don't like to travel. I
did take some time off, only to come back to
(45:40):
a bunch of tweets saying that those guys are telling
people that I got calfine plants. Let me go ahead
and take a look. Nope, still same old calfs. I
look like a flamingo with bad tattoos. All right, So
all of that is a lie. Those were lies that
were told on the air. There's now a Twitter account
called Jonas's calfine Plants. That's an insulting. There could be
(46:01):
some legal action coming in regards to all of that
stuff that has happened here. I will address those rumors
again during the course of the week. Unbelievable. Just but
but what do you expect? What do you expect the
face of big noon kickoff? Brady Quinn just a class
act through and through, and the College Football Hall of Famer,
(46:22):
that prestigious LaVar Arrington telling lies about their partner and
crime because God forbid he took one day off to
go hang out with his kid. Yeah, I am too.
How about Mel Gibson and Brady Quinn appearing in the
same segment. That's fine, thank you, thank you Mel? All right? Also,
(46:45):
can I just say that, Look, can I also defend somebody?
I would like to defend somebody here. Earlier this week,
Bill Belichick was on He was at the owner's meetings
and people were asking him like, hey, you know, what
should you know? The Patriots didn't make the playoffs last
year and they had a losing record, what should uh
you know? Why should they be a fans should be
(47:08):
optimistic about what next season is going to be? And
Belichick said something along the lines of the last twenty
three years something like that, and everyone said, oh, what
a flex by Belichick. And then he had to like
come out and clarify his statement afterwards that he was
talking I think to the Boston Globe and had to say, well,
you know, we don't rest are on our laurels in
(47:28):
this organization, and we don't. First of all, if I
was Bill Belichick, I tell everybody in Boston, hey, kiss
my ass, like, like seriously, kiss my ass. We had
one down year. Oh we didn't win a super Bowl
this year. Okay, okay, we didn't win a super Bowl
(47:49):
this year. Ah, okay, got it. I never mind the
two decades of dominance, never mind all that. Okay, forget
about the twenty years of dominance and all the other Like,
let's just forget about all that stuff, right, you know
the seven Super Bowls, you know, the shoe win to
win the division every single time, the fourteen whole hum
(48:09):
win seasons that we would always put together. Oh no, no, no, no,
don't forget about all that. No, you finished with an
eight win season last year, like you, like you. You
had a quarterback controversy. You had Bailey Is some guy
named Bailey Zappie and Matt Jones battling it out at
the quarterback spot. You had like that that Okay, we
(48:31):
get it. He's had a down year. Team may never
win another Super Bowl all of a sudden, the previous
seven don't count anymore. What are Patriots fans gonna boo
the team? We don't rest on our laurels. I got
news for you. If anybody could rest on their laurels
and look at that fan base and said screw you, well,
like now you get a problem, it should be Bill Belichick.
(48:53):
So I'm gonna defend Bill Belichick here all right. By
the way, little known fact, one of the only remaining
pen pals in the country with Andy Firm and Fox
Sports radio host. And I swear to God on that
Belichick having to clarify his statements, Well, we don't rest
on our laurels here. Rest on him like rest on him.
In fact, if I were Belichick, I'd look into a
(49:14):
camera in Boston and say, hey, rest on this all right?
How many Super Bowls do you need before you guys
could stop bitching about whether or not we're a decent
football team again? All right? Got some issues, might have
some more issues in the division of Aaron Rodgers comes there.
There's some problems. A lot of talent in the AFC
East now, all of a sudden, all right, they're trying
to navigate the waters here. Why don't you give the
(49:35):
guy a little bit of a cut him some slack,
give him a break for God's sakes, all right, Jonas Knox,
Fox Sports Radio. Right now, though, we are going to
bring in a special individual, all right, somebody who comes
on the show. First of all, when he's not too important,
when he's not too big for his britches, all of
a sudden, somebody who decides to come on this show
(49:58):
and spit some hard facts about the world of professional wrestling, because,
believe it or not, you can gamble on professional wrestling,
and WrestleMania is here. Baby. He is our WWE degenerate
gambling insider. We welcome back former Fox Sports Radio employee
(50:18):
An FSR Alum. If there is a Hall of Fame
at Fox Sports Radio, he probably gets in on his
second or third attempt. I welcome in the great Mike Mayor.
Mike Mayer, What the hell's happening? What's going on? Man? Well,
I'm excited to be bad. Listen, Mayor have for Well,
(50:38):
we got to get down to this because WrestleMania is
this weekend. Obviously, you pop on. And by the way,
for those of you that are like, why would we
look WrestleMania, what are we talking about? Mike Mayer has
has what your winning percentage is got to be near
ninety percent on the picks that you make for when
it comes to WrestleMania. Correct, it's got to be somewhere. Yeah. Yeah,
(51:00):
he is absolute nails when it comes to betting on
professional wrestling. And by the way, you actually can bet
on professional wrestling. If you think I'm lying, go ahead,
look around, look around, take a look. It's there. The
opportunity is there to make a little bit of cash. Now,
Mayor you were at WrestleMania, you're going. It's a two
day event. It's at Sofi Stadium in Los Angeles, and
(51:24):
so are you there at the stadium right now? If
you're not, I think the event starts in about five hours.
I would recommend you leave pretty soon because the traffic
going into Sofi Stadium is an absolute vomit bomb. I
wouldn't want any part of it, and you're gonna have
some issues if you're not already there. Well, I'm going
to brace through some of those issues. I am going
(51:44):
to leave right after this I have to think the
people what they want, and then I'm gonna go, what's
eight So how between both nights, what's the total number
of people they're expecting at WrestleMania this weekend. It's so
far from what I have heard, sixty five sixty six
thousand people each night, so we're looking at one hundred
(52:05):
twenty thousand, like depending on like total attendance for both Knights.
God Man, like the two nights. The two nights change
that they made post COVID is ingenius because it's just
like basically two separate shows, so two opportunities. It's just
a genius idea because as you know, Jonas, it's their
(52:28):
super Bowl, so it's just a spectacle. It's an event,
so you get people to gather there twice. It's twice
the extravaganza that is WrestleMania as opposed to doing it
for six hours for like one show. A hundred man
hundred by the way, that's Iowa Sam's bartender who joining
(52:49):
us here on the program. We appreciate it's a hundred
drop kidding, one hundred thirty thousand people for WrestleMania this weekend.
That is insane, Like that is so I didn't know.
I didn't know it was going to be that much. Wow,
that's impressive, all right, So mayor, let's get let's get
(53:10):
down to it here, all right. So let's try and
bang through these as quickly as possible because you've got
to beat traffic and there are people out there that
are that are waiting around for some picks, because we've
got a bunch of degenerates that are listening to this
program much like you. So let's start right at the top,
all right, Let's go to Roman Rains Cody Roads. This
is the main event. This is the build up. A
lot of people thought the Rock was going to be
part of this because he is related to Roman Rains.
(53:33):
What are we looking at betting wise? And where's the
market leaning right now? So this is an interesting one
because I've come on your show for three years. Roman
Rains hasn't been pinned in almost in three and a
half years, and he's the tribal chief, he's ahead of
the table. This is the first time he's been an underdock.
It is title Ragin, which is going to be at
nine one hundred and forty five days on Sunday night
(53:56):
when the guys hit the rig Cody Roads the favorite
minus two forty, Roman Rains plus one sixty. Look, I've
always been on the side of Roman Rains. I just
feel it's the right time for Cody Rhodes. It's crazy
that four years ago he was in another company trying
to start his own thing, and now he's on the
verge of doing something his father couldn't do and winning
(54:18):
the main event at Rustlemania. So I'm gonna go Cody
Rhodes minus two forty. Even though it might seem like
the obvious pick, I just think it's Cody's moment and
it's just time to make a a historic title reign
from Roman Rains on Sunday Night. All right, so we
got a big tag team match. It's also taken place.
We've got Sammy's ain Kevin Owens versus the Usos. The
usos who are related to Roman reigns. I believe they're cousins.
(54:40):
Who you liking in this one? Yeah? The bloodline. I
think this is going to be like the downfall of
Roman Rains. Yeah, they're all they're all together as in
a fashion the bloodline, Like you said, cousins. But yeah,
Sammy and Kevin have been trying to take down the Bloodline.
It's been a long going storyline in ww either an
enormous favorite usos have like at six hundred day title ring,
(55:01):
like the blood Line has won WWE. So this could
be like a shaking type weekend for WWE. And yeah,
it's a it's a tough pill to swallow here at
minus nine hundred for Ko and Sammy, but I just
feel like they just got back together. They've been best
friends for a long time. I think the Bloodline is
gonna fall this weekend, and this is probably going to
be the main event tonight. I got Ko and Sammy
(55:23):
minus nine hundred, even if it's a big number. Yeah,
I mean, listen, it's minus nine hundred for a reason,
So that would make some sense. All right, So we
move next over to Logan Paul, who's back to wrestle
at WrestleMania. Get a little celebrity action if you will,
Logan Paul versus seth Rollas what do you like? All right?
We love seth rawlins Man, the Visionary, the architect. This
(55:44):
guy lives at WrestleMania, but he hasn't won a WrestleMania match.
Sinking Pete Rock Laws and they're back at WrestleMania thirty
five for the for the Universal Championship and Logan Paul
say what you want about him, this guy has proven
himself the able feet Roman Rains last year. So here
mayor I've said this people. People can knock the Paul
(56:05):
Brothers all they want. They're legitimate athletes like those guys,
and and for what, oh tay, whatever you want about them,
whatever their business approaches, YouTube or snap face, whatever they're on,
those guys legitimately have made names for themselves. They're successful businessmen,
and they've taken when they've taken to certain sports, they've
been a lot better than a lot of people have
(56:26):
thought they would pan out being. I think I will
say this, this is probably going to be one of
the matches of the weekend, but Seth is the favor
here minus four hundred Logan plus two fifty. I gotta
go set Here in this scenario, just because he hasn't
won a WrestleMania match in like three years, so I
(56:47):
think that's a big opportunity. I can't wait to be
there in the stadium to hear sixty five thousand people
just screaming his song because it's one of the catchiest
things in WWA. So that's awesome. So Ray Mysterios fighting
his son. The hell's that family dynamic? Like, what are
we looking at him there? Well, they've been in the
Falling album since like September, and Ray just went into
(57:08):
the Hall of Fame last night. He just got invected
in the Hall of Fame. Dom actually walked out before
Ray while Ray was speaking. So this is this has
been building for a long long time. Raised actually the
underdog at plus one fifty five Dominic minus two twenty.
Dominic's been egging him on for so so long. I
think Dominic's gonna get us come up in here, and
(57:30):
I think Ray as the Hall of Famer is going
to get a big moment at WrestleMania. After a big
moment last night, there's some good value there for the
Hall of Famer. I'm gonna go with Ray plus one
fifty five to beat his son, all right, So Mike,
we're up against it, but we got one more. John
Cena's back. John Cena last scene doing trash bag commercials.
(57:51):
He is back at WrestleMania and he's gonna be wrestling
somebody by the name of Austin theory. So about twenty seconds.
Who do you like here? Sena doesn't need it awesome
theories the champion. He needs a big win here, so
theory minus three twenty five is the way to go.
He'll beat John Cenas tonight man our degenerate wrestling gambler
(58:15):
insider Mike Mayer joins us a few times every single year.
The guy's win percentage is unmatched in professional betting. I
don't care where you go. Mike Beyer's the guy when
it comes to professional wrestling betting, and you can actually
bet on professional wrestling, and you can follow him on
Twitter at Off the Mike twenty eight. He'll be live
at WrestleMania both nights. Mike. We appreciate it. Man. We
(58:37):
miss you. Have fun out there, all right, miss you
guys too. Thank allt for having me there. He is
the great. Mike Mayor with us here on Fox Sports Radio,
all right, Jonas Hucks here on FSR, you can hang
out with us as always on the iHeartRadio app. Sam,
you are unbelievable. All right, So coming up next, there
is a there's a team in the NFL. A lot
(58:59):
of people are really feeling themselves on this team. I mean,
they were excited about the future. Everybody loves where this
team is in the NFL. They love it. They love
it except for well, you know the guy who kind
of runs the entire organization. I'll tell you who that
is next year on FSR. Jonas Knox Fox Sports Radio.
(59:22):
Coming up, we'll call it about ten minutes from now
here on FSR. Less than ten minutes from now we
are going to discuss what could be an I don't
want to call it a disaster. Disaster feels like it's
a bit over dramatic, all right, it feels like it's
a bit much. But I'll say this, it could be
a problem. It could be a problem that infects an
entire sport. So we'll get into that for you here
coming up in about ten minutes from now here on FSR.
(59:45):
So I did see this. I thought this was kind
of interesting. You got John Mara, the owner of the
New York Giants, talking about Brian daball. Everybody loves Brian
Dave all right, everyone loves him. You know day balls
went for a two point version his first game in
the NFL, and everybody goes, oh my god, that's the guts.
We're talking about the things he did with Daniel Jones.
(01:00:06):
Everybody loves Brian Dayball. I love Brian Dayball. In fact,
we look kindly refer to him as dump truck nuts,
where he just laid them on the table and said,
this is what we're working with and we're gonna go
win a bunch of games. He was fantastic Coach of
the Year for a reason. We were singing his praises
and you've got now the owner of the New York
Giants saying, well, I told him, you know now that
(01:00:27):
he's a celebrity. Don't go from bono to bozo, which is,
by the way, bozo another term I feel like doesn't
get used enough. It's fantastic, big fan of the term bozo.
Feel like that also, much like Billfold, needs to come
back into our vernacular. I think it would benefit everybody involved.
So he's talking to yeah, I just tell him, you know, listen,
they love you here. But it could quickly turn in
(01:00:48):
all this blah blah blah. He's right, And I don't
know if people feel the same as I do, but
I kind of got a bad feeling about the Giants
this upcoming year. I kind of do and I'd love
what happened last year. I love the fact that Brian
day Ball took a couple of players that everybody thought,
(01:01:12):
there's no way these guys are going to be around
long term with the Giants. Everybody thought the book was
written on Daniel Jones not a legitimate franchise quarterback. They
didn't pick up his fifth year option for a reason,
and the guys a turnover machine. Brian Dayball changed all
of that. He didn't turn the ball over as much.
He's now getting paid franchise quarterback money for at least
(01:01:35):
a couple of years. And all of a sudden, you've
got the general manager coming out saying afterwards, yeah, you know,
if I would have known that he would have looked
like this, I would have gone back in time and
definitely picked up the fifth year option. Brian day Ball
figured out a way to make it work with Daniel Jones,
who wasn't even his guy. He took over somebody else's guy.
(01:01:55):
After multiple coaching staffs couldn't figure out how to act
your lee build around Daniel Jones, and how to take
Daniel Jones and make him from you know, draft quote
unquote bust to a guy who could be a legitimate
quarterback and start playoff games and win a playoff game.
Brian Dable did all that. Sae Quon Barkley. The book
(01:02:17):
was written on sae Quon Barkley. And yes they don't
have a long term deal done and he got franchise tagged,
but that's sae Quon Barkley. You saw this past year.
That was the sae Quon Barkley we saw early in
his career. People thought, listen, sa Quon, I mean, great,
great story, but look, he peaked, you know, the wear
and tear in college, and he gets to the Giants
(01:02:38):
and he gets injured. There's no way you can take
sa Quon Barkley and you can turn him into the
player that he once was. Brian Dable did. So we're
talking about two players that people thought the book was
written on and are going to be elsewhere in less
than a year, are now there not only for another year,
but one player in particular, Daniel Jones, is there for
multiple years. And you've got members of the front office
(01:03:00):
and we regret not doing this earlier, but I'm telling
you there's I got a bad feeling. We've seen this before.
We saw it in Chicago back in twenty eighteen, Remember
when Matt Nagee came in kind of similar one coach
of the year, took over somebody else's quarterback, Mitch Trubisky.
(01:03:22):
All of a sudden, they had a really good year.
They won a bunch of crazy games. The defense, defense
was legitimate. I mean, the difference between the two is
that Brian Dayball actually won a playoff game. Matt Nagee
had the double joint Cody Parkey game and that whole
disaster in fiasco that took place. But there's kind of
a similar vibe. And then after that year it was
all downhill. Coordinators getting fired, quarterbacks getting benched, weird signings,
(01:03:49):
weird there was just he was the talk of the town,
the toast of the city. They loved him in Chicago.
They even went to the playoffs another year after that
he finished with a winning record. Yet everybody looks at
Matt Nagee and goes, yeah, that was kind of a
weird run. When Matt Nagee was named offensive coordinator in
(01:04:09):
Kansas City, it's like nobody remembered that he took the
Bears to the playoffs twice, because everybody just remembers how
weird it was after that first year. You can call
John Mara, you could say, well, listen, why don't you
just appreciate the fact that you've got a coach it's
actually doing his job, much like unlike you know, these
other guys you hired before. People can have a problem
with what he's saying, but he's right. And I got
(01:04:29):
a funny feeling all those breaks, all the things that
went the way of the Giants last year. I get
this weird feeling they're not going to go their way
this year. It never happens a couple of years in
a row. There's always a team that surprises you one year,
and the next year they go back to form. And
I hope it doesn't happen because you hear these these
(01:04:49):
things being thrown out all the time. The NFL is
better when so and so is good, good, the NBA,
the MLB, everybody's better when certain teams are good. When
the Giants are good, and the Giants are back, and
when they roll back those badass retros nineteen eighties jerseys,
early nineties jerseys like they wore a couple of times
last year. That was old school football, the kind of
(01:05:11):
football I grew up on. They were fun to watch.
It's a fun story, it's a fun team. He's a
fun coach. But you just get this feeling. Man, I
don't know, like go for example, go back to that
first game of the year. Everyone looks at that two
point conversion they go for and says, man, oh man,
the guts on him to go for two. That really
(01:05:31):
set the tone of the season. The play was stopped.
It was a second effort that scored that two point conversion.
And by the way, they don't win that game if
not for a miss field goal as time expired by Tennessee.
That one moment changed how we look at that team
(01:05:52):
and how they started off, and the decision by Brian
day Ball to go for two. That one moment, followed
by the field goal that was at the end, like
the idea that you're going to get all those same
breaks this year, that everything's gonna gore. Look look at
the division they're in. I mean, nobody thought the NFC
(01:06:13):
East was going to be what they were. Philadelphia was
just in a Super Bowl. Dallas feels like this is it,
this is our last chance, Like we've got the horses,
like this is our last opportunity in in this window
for Dak Prescott and McCarthy and all these guys. I
just you can look at what John Morris says and say, well,
he should be appreciative for what Brian day Ball did.
(01:06:33):
I agree, but I also think John Mars right like,
there is some you got to be careful, especially in
that city, in that town man Rex Ryan. Everybody loved
Rex Ryan to start, they were going to multiple conference
championship games. Everybody loved Rex Ryan, and then all of
a sudden he had a foot fetish. It's weird. It's
(01:06:55):
a weird place, and they're really hard on you, and
they forget all about what you did recently. If you
did something that doesn't add up to that city, that
fan base, and those people that root for those teams.
So I'm just telling you. May not like what he
had to say, but there's a lot of accuracy in
his statement when it comes to Brian Dayball, the Giants
and this upcoming year. Jonahs Stocks, Fox Sports Radio, thank you, Rex.
(01:07:17):
Rex Ryan also making an appearance that is always fun
to hear from Rex here on the show. By the way,
we are brought to you and this is smooth. We
are brought to you by Dollar Shave Club. Are you
still overpaid for a razor in this economy? Gross? With
Dollars Shave Club, you can get a top shelf shave
at a a regular shelf prize. Dollar Shave Club is available
to a store near you. And the men's razor aile.
That's it. That's the ad, all right. So coming up,
(01:07:37):
this could be a disastrous situation for an entire sport.
So we're going to get into that for you next
here on FSR. But for all the latest from around
the world of sports, we present to you the one
and only, the phenomenal, the epic Monsey. Make you yeah
(01:08:04):
that that's called stick in the landing right there, exactly exactly. See,
we're right. It's like we haven't skipped a beat. It's
like we haven't skipped a beat. By the way, how
about the fact now that I don't want it, I'm
not talking about anybody's DMS here, No, Rex Ryan's foot
(01:08:26):
fetish leading into it. Let's not Let's not all right,
because then I'm gonna start talking about your caffeine plants.
So let's not true. That's fair, Okay, a lot of
let's just say this. There's a lot of weirdos out there.
They really really are. But we'll leave it at that.
We'll leave it at that. So how about this, Jonas,
(01:08:49):
I'm reading this story on CBS Sports that an NFL
an anonymous NFL owner, spoke to Front Office Sports and
it's saying that the NFL is considering expanding, adding more
franchises outside of the United States, that they want to
do an international division. This anonymous owner didn't give like
(01:09:11):
an exact timeline, whether two years or five years, but
that that's what they're looking into, an international division. Look,
I love the NFL. Come on, man, can like don't
you can't we just be a little selfish for one,
I know, right, like keep it like all to us.
And also we're they're doing the international games, like it's
(01:09:33):
already we're already going over there. Look like so the
in laws they're Mexican, all right, And when you when
they take those games to Mexican City. Yeah, it's always
that they put on the show. The fans love it.
The atmosphere is great, all of that. Germany was awesome.
They the players loved it. London's always a good time.
(01:09:55):
It's like we'll let you like, we'll let you have
it for a day. Yeah, you know what, you want
to borrow our ten speed? Take our ten speed out
for a spin, all right, take our little scooter out.
That's fine, you can have it. Just return it, all right?
Can you please return it back? Like, I don't want
to see it gone. I don't want I don't want this.
I don't see how it works, agreed, Like, so what
(01:10:15):
are we talking Like we're talking about players traveling in
short weeks and flexing Thursday games and all this stuff,
and then you want to send players to like Bay Route.
What are we doing where they literally literally lose a
day if not too when traveling. Yeah, I've never been
to Europe. Problem, it is exhausting. Yeah, I don't know
what I could deal with that. You need a vacation
(01:10:37):
from the vacation. Yeah, so yeah, I don't see how
it works. But that's maybe they mean just Mexico. But still,
like you said, it's I think it's more special when
you have just a couple of games. Okay, Mexico's doable,
it is, Canada's doable. But like if we're talking about
(01:11:00):
like Germany and now, I think we're stretching things a
little bit thin totally, totally, I'm with you. Well, Seby
Zavala has hit a two run homer for the White
Sox and now they're beating the Astros three to two
bottom of the fourth inning. The Cardinals scored three runs
in the third inning, and they're shutting out the Blue
Jay's three zero bottom of the fifth inning. The Birds
(01:11:20):
and the Cubs are in the top of the sixth
inning and they are still scoreless. Did you see that
video of Anthony Rendon with that ace fan was awesome.
I love how the guy who was like no, no,
I didn't say that, and then and then Randon tried
to swipe at him with his with the same hand,
he grabbed his shirt with seas right, Randon, this is
(01:11:40):
I could tell Rando's never played hockey. You grab with
the left and throw with the right, not the same one. No, correct? Correct? Fortunate. Well,
he's in the Angels lineup for their game today. He's
starting at third base, so it looks like he's not
gonna be punished, at least right now. But he's in
the lineup, he's batting, he's starting third base. So there
(01:12:01):
is that, by the way, clear difference between what he
did and what an NBA player does they would have
had the fan ejected. He just grabbed the guy by
the shirts right, just said I'll do it with myself,
and you guys are busy. I got it, don't worry
about it. I also like how Mike Trout didn't do it.
He kind of stopped in the video like he passed
by it. He like looked back, but he was like confused.
Oh yeah, he's probably like, hey, listen, I'll pay your fine. Yeah,
(01:12:23):
I don't worry about it. You don't need the money,
but I'll pay it. Anyways, please take care of that guy.
And also it was that you know the O dot
co that toilet bowl up in Oakland, it's not like
the place is filled to the rafters and to the
top deck. And and he couldn't pinpoint which fan it
was said that to him, Like come on, dude, like
what was the other guy? What guy? There's nobody at
the game. It's Oakland, it's you or you. Have you
(01:12:46):
ever harassed a player when you've gone to a game?
Like probably, yeah, yes, of course, Yeah, never mind. I
forgot who I asked. I forgot, I forgot who I asked. Yeah,
I'm not gonna lie yeah, it's the F five tornado. Notice,
but it's I I talk smack about the game, you
know what I mean, Like, I'm not gonna take it
outside of the sport. I'm not gonna I'm not gonna
(01:13:08):
attack the person's family. I'm not gonna say anything like
that or they're intelligence. I'm just gonna be like you
talk effree throws, get out of here, you know. Yeah,
and also talking brush Listen if you've had if you
had a couple of cocktails, Oh for sure, what are
we expected? No? Of course, obviously the truth comes out right.
So how many Like what's are you? Now? You're big?
(01:13:28):
Is it tequila? I'm a big tequila? Yeah? Yeah? Are
we doing? We doing margaritas? Are we sipping it on
the rocks? I prefer to sip it on the rocks,
of course. Yeah, real fancy, Like I like, I like
a margharita, but the sugar eventually, you know what I mean. Like,
I'll have a margarita, I'll enjoy it. But you can't
just keep drinking margarita's. It's gonna mess up your stomach.
You're gonna feel crappy the next day. I don't want that,
(01:13:50):
all right, So let me ask you this, because I'm
not trying to judge it now. In the mean streets
a thousand Oaks, California, we don't do the on the
rocks stuff. That's not how we operate up here. But
I'll just say this, how many tequila on the rocks
would it take you before you start shouting obscenities at
a player for missing a free What are we talking
about here? Are one or two? Or what are we looking? No?
(01:14:11):
I mean like maybe a couple more than that. So
if you've had four, if you had four sawsaws on
the rocks, then all of a sudden, if you're if
you're Ben Simmons and you're shooting free throws, Oh yeah, no,
that's bad. If I've had if moncy' has had a
half bottle of Quervo, I'd be dead off of corvo.
(01:14:35):
But no, yeah, maybe four? A terrorist? Yeah, yes, this
guy's a terrorist. Good stuff. So who you got today?
San Diego State, Florida, Atlantic, who you got in Miami?
It's all today. I would like to see San Diego
State acause of our final village. San Diego. There the
(01:14:56):
home of the the Aztecs. So I'd like to see
San Diego State win though Brady Quinn's a big Florida
Atlantic guy because they're not far from him. And seeing
at the owls of Florida Atlantic and then yukon Miami,
I want to see Jim Larnega. Okay, yeah, I'd like
to see that. You want to hear a great story.
Let me just tell you this. What else are we doing?
Go ahead, so Larry to tell you this is really funny.
(01:15:18):
So Jim Larnega when he first got to Miami years ago,
I was working on a show with Andy Furman and
Andy Furman Um, you know, loves college basketball, longtime college
basketball fan, and so we bring Jim Larnagan and Andy Furman,
you know, says to Larenega. He goes, look, he's all,
what is it? He's all, I'm thinking about Calipari and
(01:15:38):
Patino and Carnesecca. And he's all, what is it about
the Italians? Like you guys are such great coaches and
you've taken to college basketball? Is it your approach is
that you're upbringing And larn Higa goes, I'm not Italian
and Andy's like, oh, it's like they're He's Cuban. I'm
(01:16:01):
pretty sure he's Cuban. Yeah, I just I walked out
of the studio. I could. I was laughing so hard.
And to this day I called Andy and I was
busted his chops a few days ago. He goes, oh,
of course you remember that. Of course you remember that.
He goes, he's, well, he has that little thing over
over the letter end in his last name. I didn't.
I didn't know that. I didn't notice that at the time.
It was again and he's not he's not Italian. Yeah, yeah,
(01:16:22):
oh you dropped the ball there. Yeah, you gotta be careful.
But yes, I am rooting for the man who's not Italian,
Jim Larina. I'd like to see him go. And two
guys is enough for me. Thank you. Andy. By the way,
out of context, that's very bizarre that he would say
that on the air, Very strange. All right, So there
it is the great Monti Bologos for Tequilasis. Yeah, free
(01:16:44):
throw shooting, Scott got a heckler on his hands. Um.
All right, So you can hang out with us as
always on the iHeartRadio app. Coming up, we are going
to have another edition of the Scraps Things in the
world of sports. We have not had a chance to
get to h they are yours. Here, we'll get to
that where we close up shop. We are brought to
you by Discover. Discover credit cards automatically double all the
cash back you've earned. That's right, everything you've earned doubled.
(01:17:07):
Seriously see terms and check it out for yourself at
discovered dot com. Forward slash match. So I'll say this
when it comes to college basketball, this is not ideal.
They've talked about the ticket prices, they talk about the
lack of attendance and people actually go into these games.
There's been more talk about the women's Final four, and
for good reason, with Caitlin Clark and that performance you
put on. If you're the NCAA, you could say whatever
(01:17:30):
you want about the teams not being bluebloods and all
that stuff. But the games have been fantastic. The games
have been good. You may not bring the audience in initially,
but you could get a lot of people change in
the channel mid game if the games turn out to
be really, really good and really entertaining. To me, that's
what they gotta have. If all of a sudden you've
(01:17:50):
got a nine and a five and then a five
and a four playing in this tournament and they're blowouts,
it could be a disaster for college basketball. Now, we're
gonna be happy when the tournament comes around next year,
but if we get a blowout, and god forbid, we
get a blowout in the national championship game, that is
going to be a bad look for the sport. Allow
what we saw in college football when it came to
(01:18:11):
TCU and Georgia. Jonas Knox here on FSR, coming up next,
We're gonna put a bow on this bad boy. It's
another edition of the Scraps right here on FSR Jonas
Knocks Fox Sports Radio. You can hang out with us
as always on the iHeartRadio app. Make sure you stick around.
Steve Hartman and Bucky Brooks are gonna be on the
air coming up at about ten minutes from now from
(01:18:31):
the tire rack dot Com studios. Always a fun list.
And also some of the insulting tweets that I normally
read on the air, you can go to my Twitter
account at the Jonas Knox and check those out. They
were a little bit too graphic to read on the air.
I'll just put it that way, a little bit too graphics,
So you can go see for yourself. Very strange people
that listen to this show. But right now it is
(01:18:52):
time for the Progressive play of the day. Trying to
get into Caitlin Clark, She's double team still get into

the car. That's over. I's done it Beona. Hawk guys
have stun South Carolina. Caatelan Clark, the Great Caatelan Clark,
Weed's Iowa to one upset and the Hawk guys, we'll

how could you not get to these stories? Are there? Scraps?
(01:19:37):
And for that we turn it over to our executive
producer Bo Benson to find out what the hell we've missed? Bo. So,
Major League Baseball is reportedly investigating Angels third baseman Anthony
Rendon after his postgame incident with a fan the other night.
I don't know if you saw it. But yeah, we
were like I was mentioned into Monsey, Like you could
clearly tell Rendon's never played hockey before, because you don't
(01:19:59):
grab a guy with the same hand and then swipe
at him with that same hand. You're never going to
hit him. If you really want to smack him, grab
him with the left and then come over the top
with the right. And if you're that fan, you got
to lean into that one too. That's a that's a
payday for you're not working the rest of your life.
That Yeah, that's true. The fan was very rattled by
the way. Yeah, and yeah he was, like we were saying,
it's not like Randon confused him for somebody else. It's
(01:20:22):
an A's game. Nobody's going Nobody goes to those games anyways.
That's why they're moving to Las Vegas. Yeah, right, or
what else we got? Chargers general manager Tom Talesco is
not worried about the upcoming contract negotiations with a quarterback,
justin Herbert, saying, it's a good problem to have to
give a quarterback, you know, three hundred million dollars whatever
Herbert's going to get. I just wonder so when he
(01:20:43):
signs his deal and then when Joe Burrow signs his deal,
is Richard Sherman still going to be upset about the
contracts that they got? Im? Just I just wondering because
Richard Sherman really had a problem with some of those,
some of the contracts that were handed out to Patrick
Mahomes and all them, because he thought that's when they
should have set you know, that's what they should have
set the tone on guaranteed contracts in the NFL. Yeah,
(01:21:04):
so just yeah, what else we got? Fanasis Enta the
coumbo Jannis's brother suspended one game for headbudding Blake Griffin,
which is pretty cool actually, to be honest, I mean,
why is it cool? What do you like? I like
that old school NBA the fight mentality. Yeah, I think
who cares about Blake? It's it's Blake Griffin. I can't
believe he's on the NBA. By the way, do you
(01:21:25):
know Blake Griffin's like an actual comic? Yeah he does.
He is actually funny, Yeah, yeah, he does, like legitimate comedy.
Like it's I mean, like Blake Griffin on April School.
That's not in April School's joke. Blake Griffin taken over
a comedy club near you. That's a real thing. Sodas,
son of a bitch.
