Speaker 1 (00:00):
Don't listen sports.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
Let's go sticking genius, let's go, big boy, let's go.

Speaker 3 (00:08):
Let's got a. It's got a lot to get to tonight,
does he not? I mean he did three hours last night.

Speaker 1 (00:15):
Take care of all of your whining about whoa, whoa, whoa?

Speaker 2 (00:17):
Four hours last night. Four hours last night, good job,
four hours backward, four hours of complaining about my New
York Knicks.

Speaker 1 (00:28):
Jess.

Speaker 2 (00:29):
Absolutely, I to get that off my chest. You know
it still bothers me. Of course it bothers me. I
I'm a bigger fan than you and the rest of
our listeners. So you know, every one of my losses
just killed me.

Speaker 1 (00:40):
You know that, don't you? No, I understand.

Speaker 3 (00:42):
But it's also funny how now it becomes that the
Knicks weren't that good right now?

Speaker 1 (00:49):
Is that what you're going with now?

Speaker 2 (00:50):
No, they were projected to win thirty eight games. I
didn't make that up that I.

Speaker 3 (00:55):
Then why would you pick them to go all the
way to the Eastern Conference Finals?

Speaker 2 (00:59):
They should have went to the Eastern Conference Finals? Did
they should have? I don't know how we lost to Miami,
that dog of a team. Well, you're a dog of
a team too. You guys got lucky that Yannis got hurt.
I think more than I think everyone.

Speaker 3 (01:12):
That's still alive in the East is pretty lucky that
Janni's got hurt outside of Boston, because they wouldn't have
to worry about it. But you spent four hours last
night complaining, which means we are free and clear of
it tonight from the tire rack dot Com Studios tire
rack dot com, we'll up you get there on unmatched
a selection, fast, free shipping, free road hazard protection, and
over ten thousand recommended installers. Tire rack dot com the

(01:34):
way tire buying should be. Now busy night. I want
to get this grinch out of the way. I know
we're not a big hockey show, but this is a
fantastic game to have on while we're on the air,
so we get to follow the Vegas Knights and the
Edmonton Oilers massive game two to one. The end of
one series is three games or two in favor of
the Golden Knights. Arnie what moron made the decision to

(01:57):
play this game at ten pm Central Time and get
pushed to ESPN two while we watched the end of
a nine to one baseball game on Sunday Night baseball, well.

Speaker 2 (02:07):
A ten Eastern, I think, But I mean's just a
couple of things on this. Yeah, No, a couple of
things on this though, And we were talking about this yesterday.
First of all, was baseball in ESPN. They have a
deal that says they can't move their time of the
game or anything like that, So I didn't know if
that was a possibility too. Why couldn't they put the
hockey game on, you know, on one of their other

(02:28):
channels at ESPN two, three, four five, whatever it is,
and do something like that. Let'ten say well, we didn't
want to have two teams or two different games going
up against each other. Well, that's too damn bad that
that's going to happen. And it is a disrespect to hockey,
I think more if they're saying that the hockey game
would have cut into the baseball game's ratings, well then
then you know you should have.

Speaker 1 (02:48):
Put it on a better time in channel.

Speaker 2 (02:51):
So it's like a big contradiction. I think they did
a terrible decision there, really did well.

Speaker 3 (02:57):
And I think you know, there's a lot of different
things you could do. You had the NBA playoff game
that was done at five o'clock.

Speaker 1 (03:04):
I mean, is is.

Speaker 3 (03:06):
Primetime programming really that big of a deal on ABC anymore?
I mean, I the only time I ever know Arnie
anything that's on regular TV is during the NFL season,
whenever Jim Nance will read a commercial that's like, oh,
the fastest growing comedy, and I'm like, I've never heard
of this show before in my life. I don't know
who young Sheldon is.

Speaker 4 (03:25):
Oh.

Speaker 2 (03:25):
I know is that sixty minutes is coming up sometime soon.

Speaker 3 (03:28):
Right except for those on the West coast now, So
that I just I had to get that out of
the way. I just if I'm a if I'm a
hockey fan, specifically an Oilers Nights fan, I'm pissed. And
it just again, I don't think either one of these
are going to set waiting ratings records Oilers, Golden Knights,

(03:48):
or even the Cardinals in the Red Sox. But holy
smokes man, I am not happy. I am not happy.
If I am Gary Bettman in the NHL, Gary Bevan
still the commissioner.

Speaker 1 (03:58):
Is that right? Ok? Good, good good? I'm not happy tonight.

Speaker 2 (04:03):
So every goal was scored before they switched over, right,
go right off the bat?

Speaker 1 (04:07):
I know how great would it be if this ended
two to one?

Speaker 3 (04:10):
And by the time they got it on Big ESPN,
it's like, oh, well that's uh, it's not good.

Speaker 1 (04:16):
We didn't get one single goal while we had your
game on me.

Speaker 2 (04:20):
They should have treated it like the OJ Chase and
just did split TV or something like that.

Speaker 1 (04:24):
They did. They didn't get it.

Speaker 2 (04:26):
Yeah, for early right.

Speaker 3 (04:27):
They did to show all the runs are excuse me,
all the goals that were scored.

Speaker 1 (04:31):
But it's nine to one, I mean, Arnie, nine to one.

Speaker 3 (04:35):
You would think that even the most ardent baseball guy
would be like, yeah, let's get this game off TV.

Speaker 2 (04:41):
To be a contract thing, you know, it's got to
be something like that. I can't think of a reason
why they wouldn't do that.

Speaker 3 (04:47):
Understand it anyway, it's it's on, we're watching it. The
Oilers lead a two to one, trying to stay alive
in the series, and that at that entire arena is hopping,
so we'll keep an eye on that. We've got tons
on this schedule released this week, And because I'm hopelessly
and unapologetically addicted to the NFL, but you loved it

(05:07):
to this as I've already got I've got all the
marquee matchups that we'll get into. I've got everything for it,
and that's coming up a little bit later on in
the show. We wanted to bring in an expert to truly,
truly understand where the numbers are. Sorry, Buddy Todd Furman
will join us next hour. As far as spreads and
over underwin totals, we saw a lot of college football
over underwin totals this past week. But listen, we've got

(05:30):
to start beyond complaining about the poor NHL getting shifted
to I don't know, ESPN extra plus to start their game. Anie,
what about the Celtics today, I mean, Jason Tatum so good,
Sixers so bad in the third quarter, I mean literally
you blink and it went from being a tight, competitive
game and it was an absolute route. The Celtics just

(05:52):
dominate him. The Sixers, I mean, I can't think of
any other way to put it on it. They folded
whenever adversity hit.

Speaker 2 (05:58):
It did once, you know, the second half started, Boston
started stretching that lead a little bit. Philadelphia had no answer.
They couldn't slow him down. That lead balloon so quickly
it got up to like twenty eight or or something
like that. Tatum was just phenomenal. Fifty one points. The
guy was hitting three pointers. He was just an absolute peace.
He couldn't be stopped. He wasn't gonna let this team

(06:21):
lose a game seven at home. Jalen Brown, I mean,
I even hate to say that the only chipped in
with twenty five. That's like a pretty damn good game.
But if they you know, if they had not won
this game, I would have I've starting to think about it.
Have been Jalen Brown's last game with the Boston Celtics,
and it still may be his last season with them
if they don't win the whole thing. But impressive win,

(06:44):
a big win for the Celtics, and then we'll see
how far they can go down.

Speaker 3 (06:48):
Yeah, and I'll add to it. I sent you a
text after that game. I want to add another name
to it. Yeah, you're starting a franchise right now. Today
you had a phone call from don't know who's the
next guy that's that's perceiving to be in the main. Oh,
Lebron James. All right, Lebron James is starting his franchise.
And he goes Arnie Spanier, I listen to you on

(07:09):
Sunday nights. I know you're in better shape than Jalen Brunson,
and that you could go out there and shoot the
ball better.

Speaker 2 (07:15):
Than By the way, you will be an apology for that.
You know that, don't you. What happened next he started
playing Brunson forty eight minutes. About that, he said, He's right,
Arnie's right. I gotta get him out there. We're gonna
we're gonna lose. It's gonna be losing with him on
the court.

Speaker 1 (07:30):
What time do you guys play next week? Oh? Wow,
it doesn't make a difference. Five shut a stop.

Speaker 3 (07:37):
Yeah, you would crazy talk apologize to me like, no,
you were still wrong. You're acting like you could go
out there and play forty eight minutes and Brunson couldn't.
That's what we were making fun of you, talking about you.

Speaker 1 (07:50):
Being able to go out there and do it. That
was the joke.

Speaker 2 (07:52):
And also because they didn't play him and they were
sitting him on the bench for a lot of the
fourth quarter in one of those games.

Speaker 3 (07:57):
I think they should fire Tom fibdeat high.

Speaker 1 (08:01):
Is that what you need to hear? You better? We're
all so sorry.

Speaker 3 (08:04):
So I sent a text to Arnie after the game
because he's the ultimate knee jerk reaction guy. And I said,
you get to start a franchise with one of these guys,
bron comes, you all take whoever you take. It's it's
obviously Jason Tatum or Joel Embiid and I'm gonna ad
Jimmy Butler to the mix.

Speaker 1 (08:24):
You get to pick one of those three.

Speaker 2 (08:26):
You could take Jimmy Butler off that list right now,
thank you.

Speaker 1 (08:29):
Why oh stop it?

Speaker 5 (08:31):
Come on, you know, just hit on Jimmy Butler for
about forty eight hours.

Speaker 1 (08:35):
Stop it.

Speaker 2 (08:36):
So just stop with the stop with the Jimmy Butler
A good player, okay, a good player, and we wouldn't
be We didn't talk about him all season until the
Bimmy come around. Stop it, just stop with the Jimmy Butler.
I answered this question before the game even started. I said,
I'm taking Tatum.

Speaker 3 (08:51):
Okay, you did not answer it before the game started.
You answered it after he went off for fifty. If
the seventy six ers would have won the game, I
think you might have taken him beat.

Speaker 1 (09:00):
But you're saying you don't.

Speaker 2 (09:01):
You know, I liked Tatum and you know, forget about
the fifty one. He has the guys a score, the
guys a ball or not that umbeat isn't and Bead's
a good player, but you saw what happened today. Fifteen points.
By the way, here is the lowest amount of points
for MVP in a game seven, just since like nineteen
sixty something. It was just an embarrassment out there. You

(09:22):
gotta go with somebody like Tatum, if you're gonna go
ahead and start on your team, that would definitely be
my pick.

Speaker 3 (09:27):
No Noah fans or MUDs about it. But what if
the Celtics don't get to the finals? What if what
if they fall short once again? Are we in a
situation to where we're having this Jalen Brown conversation again?
I don't know when a game six or two weeks
from today or whatever.

Speaker 1 (09:44):
I mean, isn't it finals or bust? For absolutely?

Speaker 2 (09:47):
But I wasn't kidding around when I said Jaylen Brown's
not going to be a member of the Boston Celtics
if they don't go ahead and win the championship.

Speaker 3 (09:53):
So you think they've got to win the title? Absolutely? Absolute?

Speaker 2 (09:57):
Well, first of all, they're gonna get by Miami, that's
already done. Deal is that like New York was going
to go, They're gonna they're gonna beat Miami in four
five at the most. It's not even every game is
going to suck. Okay, I want you to know that
I have no chance. No, they have no chance in
this story. Bring your bitterness, and I'm not breaking my bitterness.
I'm just telling you the truth.

Speaker 3 (10:17):
Don't absolutely bringing your bitterness.

Speaker 1 (10:20):
And it's a show tonight.

Speaker 2 (10:22):
Because I said in five I should go to Vegas
and bet that.

Speaker 3 (10:25):
Because they beat your Knicks, and you had your knicks
winning in five games too.

Speaker 2 (10:30):
Nothing to do with the Knicks and the heat. Congratulations,
it stops here. Okay, So Boston go ahead, and they'll
go ahead and win in five, so they'll get to
the championship. But you know what if if they don't
win it, And by the way, how much money you
think it's gonna cost for Tatum and Jalen Brown, that's
gonna be an expensive duo.

Speaker 1 (10:48):
You might have to go ahead and do something else.

Speaker 3 (10:50):
Well, yeah, I mean, of course they're good players, and
you're gonna have people that would be willing to pay
for either one of them if they're on the open market.
But you're so in your mind, then you would be
okay because you're all in on Tatum moving on from
Brown and just making that your guy if he doesn't
make if they don't win the title this year, you're
following and you feel good, you.

Speaker 1 (11:11):
Just stop right there.

Speaker 2 (11:12):
I mean, you are okay moving on from Brown. Yeah,
but it depends on who I'm gonna get back. If
you're telling me, Am, I gonna move on from Brown
and I'm gonna get Yannis back.

Speaker 1 (11:21):
Okay, now you're talking big boy.

Speaker 2 (11:23):
Now give me. I hope Jiannis goes to my New
York Knicks. But if you're gonna give me Yannis, now,
Jannison Tatum's a pretty good one two punch right there.

Speaker 3 (11:32):
What Why do we do this every single time whenever
a guy gets knocked out of the playoffs, where suddenly
he wants to go somewhere else? Why do you keep
tying Giannis to the Knicks.

Speaker 2 (11:41):
It's always the Knicks though, That's what Knicks fans do.
It's always about everyone's gonna go to the Knicks.

Speaker 1 (11:46):
Am. I'm the one that made up that quote.

Speaker 2 (11:47):
Where is that the Knicks are ninety seven percent worried
about the Miami series three percent of what's going up
there in Milwaukee. You think that I'm making up all
this stuff about Giannis and maybe I think.

Speaker 3 (11:57):
You, I think you mimic what like a Steven Smith
says I, And that's fine, but.

Speaker 1 (12:03):
But you've seen that story. It's I have not seen
that story.

Speaker 2 (12:07):
What that that the Knicks were three percent concentrating on
what's going up there with you?

Speaker 1 (12:10):
I saw Steven A. Smith say it.

Speaker 6 (12:12):
I didn't see like this beat rider reporter that's there
every single day, he's gonna come out and say that
going to the New York Knicks say, I mean, you
got to read between the lines, my friend.

Speaker 5 (12:24):
He's not going to the New York next.

Speaker 1 (12:26):
Where's he gonna play next year?

Speaker 2 (12:28):
I will I will take you to Vegas and I
will take all your money that he's not going to
the New York next.

Speaker 1 (12:33):
Where's he gonna go? Where's he gonna play? Milwaukee? They're
lett him pick the coach, new new coach.

Speaker 2 (12:40):
You know, now, I think it's time for first of all,
is he really being utilized the.

Speaker 1 (12:45):
Best for his career? He staying in Milwaukee?

Speaker 3 (12:48):
I mean, trying to quit trying to sell him he's
doing fine, he doesn't need to go to New York.

Speaker 5 (12:53):
He doesn't care about these big cities either. He's said
multiple times he likes Milwaukee. That's what he says.

Speaker 1 (12:59):
But you know the truth.

Speaker 2 (13:00):
Come on, Oh he's he's from Greece, Like, what does
he know about the big cities around here? He is
more than happy to stay in Milwaukee and get some euros.
You just to go to New York because you know
how I'd be insufferable if he does that. You're already insufferable.
I want to I want to flip this on its
head one day, one year. I want to just I
want to go on Twitter and be like already and
be like, all these great players are coming to my
Detroit Pistons.

Speaker 5 (13:21):
Everyone would think I'm.

Speaker 1 (13:22):
Bad, it's not.

Speaker 5 (13:23):
Yeah, well why why is that not happening?

Speaker 2 (13:25):
But it's always the Knicks and the mecca for crying out.
Nobody gives a damn about New York. Gosh, Sean Cusack
said that, yeah, you're right, nobody cares about New York.
It's not like it's a major city or anything like that.

Speaker 3 (13:37):
No, it's just your franchisees to put us all to sleep.
It's just come off do something relevant. I mean the
Mets right now? What embarrassment that is?

Speaker 2 (13:45):
So any nobody cares about the Yankees in a few
months until the Jets screw it up.

Speaker 3 (13:49):
Yeah, exactly, Well you've already got them going one and
six to start.

Speaker 2 (13:52):
Oh my goodness, that got a big fit one in
five and people were coming after me like a ton
of bricks.

Speaker 1 (13:58):
I believe that, I think. Yeah, actually take on I too.

Speaker 3 (14:02):
I tell you again, you you ruined four hours last
night talking about your Nicks. So it only took us
five minutes into this show tonight for you to make
this about somehow Jannis going to the to the Knicks whenever.
All I'd simply asked is who you would build your
franchise around, and you take Jason Tatum and yes, hit
the idea of Jimmy Butler and Joel emb not even

(14:23):
because he imploded today.

Speaker 2 (14:25):
Not I like Joelle Andbi but I would. I mean,
you can't go wrong with either one.

Speaker 1 (14:29):
Though.

Speaker 3 (14:30):
When we come back here on Fox Sports Radio with
Arnie Spaniel, I'm Chris playing, We're gonna go in depth
on what we did learn about the Boston Celtics today.
Is it championship or bust. Let's talk to a guy.
I know this is wild Arnie. Yes, this is somebody
who covers the team every single day.

Speaker 1 (14:47):
So I hope that you're okay.

Speaker 3 (14:49):
Sure, I hope you're okay with us talking to a
guy that covers the team every single day.

second half. So let's talk to a guy who was
there saw at first hand. Gary Washburn, Boston Globe of

(16:00):
National NBA writer at G.

Speaker 1 (16:02):
Washburn Globe joins us. Gary.

Speaker 3 (16:04):
I mean, obviously Jason Tatum is the story, but I
love the energy in that place. That was incredible. From
the moment they took over midway through the third quarter.
It was almost as if that whole arena found a
different level.

Speaker 8 (16:17):
Yeah, Jalen Brown after games says, kind of challenged the
crowd because the crowd during Game five when they got
fangs by the Sixers and kind of and kind of
get gave up advantage of that series or down three
two that game, the crowd was very just you know,
bland normal, just not into the game. And then they
got taken out of the game when when Philly kind

(16:39):
of took control. So he challenged the crowd at the
game six wins to just be loud, crazy raws, and
then that's exactly what happened. They were into it from
the TIMPs. They were obviously he turned into kind of
a big party once Jason Tatum kind of took over
and they took control. I mean, I haven't seen many
thirty three to five runs and they hit THEA covered

(17:00):
the NBA's and that's what happened. And the sixers were
done at late third quarter and it turned into a
big garden party.

Speaker 2 (17:09):
Should I say, yeah, you know, And by the way, Gary,
everybody's gonna be talking about the fifty one by Tatum.
But defensively, the Celtics did a phenomenal job on Joel Embiid.
I mean, anytime you hold in the fifteen points, you
know you're gonna win the game, no matter what everybody
else does.

Speaker 8 (17:25):
Yeah, the fifth of effort was good. Early it was
you know, other guys PJ. Tucker, Tyrees Bex were hitting jumpers.
So there was a level of concern. When they were
up thirty five twenty six early second quarter, It's like, Okay,
Embeid hasn't gotten going yet, and this they're up nine. Oh,
this is not a good sign for the Celtics because
other guys are hitting shots. But suddenly those shots stopped

(17:48):
going down and Inbeed and James Harden never got going.
They never put their imprint on the game. They were
never able to hit consecutive shots, they were never able
to keep their team in the games. And suddenly it
got to the point where he just knew and he
just didn't have it. I mean, he was he looked
a little bit tired, a step slow, a little lethargic.

(18:08):
He was missing open jumpers. You know, he just didn't
have that energy that he had previously in the series,
and it just seemed like maybe fatigue took over that
injured knee, playing seven games all of that. You know,
as you guys know, seventh games are usually just a
battle of attrition where one team kind of just throws
in a towel and figures, you know what, we've had

(18:29):
a good season, but we just we don't have enough left.
And I just think that was Philadelphia tonight.

Speaker 3 (18:34):
In a side on this Gary, because you do cover
the entire NBA, this kind of had a feel to me.
Twenty eleven Phil Jackson with the Lakers and they got
smoked by the Mavericks and that was it for Phil
and that roster. Could that have been it for Doc
tonight with the Sixers.

Speaker 8 (18:51):
Yeah, it's a tough question. It looked like a team
that's kind of just kind of relented and gave up.
Is that a reflection of Doc Rivers or is that
a reflection of just you know, they're stars. Like how
much does the coach taking responsibility is We've seen in
the last week in the NBA Mike Boothholz gets fired
in Milwaukee two years after winning a championship because they

(19:15):
lost in the first round or a short head in Miami.
Team Maddie Williams takes the bullet in Phoenix because you know,
you know, Phoenix had Booker and Durant but weren't able
to compete with compete with a more complete Denver team.
Is that his fault? You know, blown out at home
in Game six? You know, it's it's sort of the
coach gets played for everything. We see that in the NFL,

(19:37):
we see that in baseball, and I just think, God,
make take the bullet here simply because you can't fire,
you can't trade. Indeed, you're not moving him. Harden has
a player option and it is likely probably not to
pick it up because I think he feels like there's
other places he wants to play, and probably some of
the other guys just aren't happy with the way things
are going because they're eliminated again in the second round.

(19:59):
So it could be that they just need a new coach,
a new voice.

Speaker 1 (20:04):
Gary.

Speaker 2 (20:04):
What happens if the Celtics would have lost today or
they don't win the championship? What's gonna happen to jayleb Brown?
He's got when you're left out of contract that it
becomes an unrestricted free agent. Between him and Tatum, that's
going to be a lot of money. Do they trade
him or they just sign him?

Speaker 8 (20:19):
Yeah, six hundred and thirteen million if they both get
signed and Max Fields and I think we saw the
hey that Tate we saw today that Tatum's going to
get his three hundred eighteen million. You know, losing this
series would have been a lot of prepercussions of the Celtics.
They would a had to consider what direction they're going in,
whether Jason and Jalen are you know, capable of leading

(20:40):
team to a championship. What else would they need because
you don't want to run the same team out there.
I think Jalen Brown, I think he's a guy that
they want to keep. Okay, now, whether they're going to
offer him two hundred ninety five millions because he's eligible
to that because he was named All NBA Second Team.
That's going to be an interesting question. Would I think
I think that they can come to some type of

(21:01):
agreement to keep him in Boston long term, especially if
they win the title this year. Now they're they used
to conference finals, they're you know, Vegas has them as
favorites to win the NBA title. They're resounding favorites to
win this series with Miami. So you think that if
they have team's success, they're going to keep the team together.
And I think Dalen Brown enjoys Boston. I know he's

(21:24):
had some issues, but I think that all that can
be solved with a nice contract.

Speaker 1 (21:30):
Gary final one from me, how big was this?

Speaker 3 (21:32):
I mean, obviously record breaking, incredible performance for Jason Tande,
But how big was that for him? I mean, because
I feel like we always overanalyze things like this, But
did you did he need a moment like that for
Celtics fans to kind of revive the confidence in him
as their cornerstone.

Speaker 8 (21:51):
Yeah, he had had a tough series and obviously a
tough first three and a half. Fourter of the Game
six where he was one for fourteen, he just looked
like he just didn't know what he was doing out there,
and so there was people that were saying, well, he's
a star, he's got a superstar. You know, first the
team all NBA, Yeah that's Boloney and if people will
questing his accolades, you know, this is the guy we're

(22:13):
supposed to build our franchise around. But him coming through
in the fourth quarter of Game six, in the last
four minutes, those four to three pointers and then just
basically putting the team on his back saying, hey, boys,
follow me. I'm taking us to the promised Land. I'm
taking us to the next round and scoring fifty one
and just being an elite player. I think obviously now

(22:36):
everyone left Jason again. And you know, he should have
seen my social media mentions and Twitter mentions during Game
six when he was one for fourteen. It was not nice,
not complimentary toward Jason. I think those those words have
kind of done on one eighty down.

Speaker 2 (22:52):
Yeah, let's see what the Twitter mentions are going to
be after you answer this one. How many games will
take Boston to beat Miami? I say two, but they
cancel the other two but for nothing, right, it's going
to be a four nothing sweet beer or what.

Speaker 8 (23:06):
I don't think you can count any team with Eric
Spolster and Jimmy Butler out in a sweep. I think
you could go six. I mean, the Celtics have the
most talent. Miami is short handed, but Miami has a
bunch of guys on that roster that give the Celtics
problems over the years, including Butler, Kyle Lowry, Bam Outa Bio,
guys who have had success against Boston. So they're gonna

(23:29):
try to do whatever. And remember now Foster has a
few days of prepare for Game one. He's going to
throw some crazy defenses and crazy formations. He is going
to put the kitchen secret the Celtics to try to
sort down dam and Brown. So it should be a
more interesting series than I think that people think.

Speaker 3 (23:46):
This has been fantastic. Gary, we appreciate you staying up
late with us. Hope we get to do this again soon.
Enjoy covering the Eastern Conference Finals.

Speaker 8 (23:54):
Thanks you all, guys.

Speaker 1 (23:55):

Speaker 5 (24:24):
Or game game and then come regular right.

Speaker 9 (24:27):
NBA will have the draft lottery before the West Finals
start Tuesday night. By the way, Denver hosting Game one
against the Lakers. Denver is awesome at home this season,
including the undefeated in the postseason at home. Denver's up
to forty and seven on the home court with a
little altitude. By the way, Boston will be hosting Miami,
eight seed in the East Wednesday in Game one of

(24:49):
the East Finals. And by the way, I don't know
if history will mean anything and I mean that literally
anything in the Lakers Denver series, But there's an ap
stat that these two franchise, this has certainly played each
other over the decades in postseason. In fact, there have
been about fifty different playoff matchups where the opponents had
met in at least twenty five playoff games Lakers.

Speaker 1 (25:09):
Denver is one of them.

Speaker 9 (25:10):
Lakers are twenty five and eight against the Nuggets all
time of the postseason, seven to fifty winning percentage or so,
which is the best winning percentage of any of those
playoff matchups that get repeated often. Again, Denver is a
one seed this year, not the Lakers. Lakers in fact
regular season were forty three and thirty nine, but with
all the changes in February, they really became a real team.

(25:33):
Boston won its Game seven at home, ending the second
round of the NBA Playoffs, beating up Philadelphia in the
second half. The final score was one twelve to eighty eight.
Jason Tatum fifty one points, a new Game seven record,
breaking the mark just set by Steph Curry a couple
of weeks ago. Thirteen rebounds for Tatum as well. He
had five assists, no turnovers. Jalen Brown had twenty five points.

(25:56):
And you guys were talking about the hockey, which is
the game going right now, and let's get to the score.
Vegas has taken the lead three to two at Edmonton
about five and a half minutes to go in the
second perier at Jonathan Marchiso with back to back goals
in the second Vegas already up three games to two
in this second round series. And yes, the first three
goals of this game came in the first three minutes,

(26:17):
none of them shown on ESPN, which is contractually obligated
to air Sunday night Baseball.

Speaker 1 (26:23):
The eye, I know it.

Speaker 2 (26:23):
Yeah, but they can't change the time or anything like
that or what.

Speaker 9 (26:26):
Yeah, well, they probably said, man, we've had the quickest
games in baseball ever this year. This is going to
be over before ten Eastern. But no, the Red Sox
are involved and they lost nine to one, So that's
Saint Louis win.

Speaker 1 (26:38):
That kept going.

Speaker 9 (26:39):
The Athletic points out that also abc with the Celtics game.
They had a contractually obligated Game seven slot here in
that mid afternoon the only slot available for the hockey
on US TV was ten PM Eastern.

Speaker 2 (26:53):
They say they wouldn't no, no, no, they wouldn't have
had that slot. Had the Lakers lost, right then they
would have been a different time.

Speaker 9 (27:01):
Lakers would have been at twelve thirty Pacific in the
Celtics slot today and they would have had to move
the Celtics to a latest slot, but the hockey ESPN
was not going to give away the game to TNT,
so this is what hockey stuck with. What didn't work
is that the baseball ran long. You would have gotten
the first three minutes of the game live on ESPN

(27:21):
if it was and I can say this word a
normal baseball game for twenty twenty three. And also one
reporter pointed out that there was a time when MLB
went to court against the ESPN because they were trying
to shove baseball games on Sunday night to ESPN two.
So about five minutes left second period, Golden Knight's trying

(27:42):
to close out the series, up three to two at Edmonton,
and you mentioned ratings. It's a hockey playoff game. It's
going to get one point something million, like most of
them do. And Edmonton's involved no offense. They have two superstars,
but it's a Canadian team and these are US ratings,
so I don't know that it's going to outdraw what
baseball did before it tonight. As for NASCAR, it was

(28:04):
at Darlington, South Carolina today. William Byron won the race
a four hundred, his third victory of the season. Kevin
Harvick finished second golf wins for Jason Day PGA and
Dustin Johnson in a playoff live golf the Sunday Night
ballgame with Saint Louis winning nine to one. At Boston,
Nolan Aronauto homered for a third straight game there. Tampa
Bay beat the Yankees eight to seven in New York

(28:26):
Toronto with two runs bottom of the ninth edged Atlanta
sixty five. Braves have lost four straight. Minnesota sixteen to
three over the Cubs. Texas won again eleven three at Oakland,
the a's record nine and thirty three, and the Dodgers
won their fifth straight four nothing over the Padres, who
have lost five in a row. And final story after
a race at Churchill Downs in Louisville, a horse died today.

(28:49):
That makes it in recent weeks eight fatalities. At the
home of the Kentucky Derby A colt was euthanized today
after suffering a quote catastrophic injury to a four leg
a few strides after the wire in races on Derby Day.
Remember and that's only about a week ago to in
the pre race. You know, they have a whole card

(29:10):
of eight nine races Derby Day with the huge crowd.
Two horses were euthanized there and in the days leading
up to the derby there at Churchill Downs, five others
were euthanized. This is nothing like Santa Anita a few
years ago when they had about forty deaths in one year.
Santa Anita in LA was down down to twelve debts

(29:30):
last year. This is just eight in recent weeks at
Churchill Downs.

Speaker 1 (29:35):
Back to you, thanks Steve unfortunate.

Speaker 3 (29:37):
Yeah, and as we come to you tonight from the
Tirack dot com studio, Stephen brought up the what are
you laughing at?

Speaker 1 (29:43):
He told a dead dog story? Now you come out
of a song and you're laughing.

Speaker 2 (29:49):
Because I just read a tweet that cave and it'
said nice how the Sega brings some stats from the
dan issel Ara to prop up his LA fakers. So
I just I just read that.

Speaker 1 (29:58):
I was laughing. I'm sorry.

Speaker 2 (30:00):
I'm very nervous today. You know that, don't It's a
very important show.

Speaker 9 (30:03):
I did say, as you'll recall, aren't he Maybe I
shouldn't say that because you don't always listen to you.
I'm not sure this will have anything literally anything to
do with the coming series.

Speaker 2 (30:15):
You know, I'm a little upset at you guys back
at the studio. You what's our producer's name again, Chris?
I forget his name now, you tell me I forget
his name. Whatever his name name.

Speaker 1 (30:25):
Is, Chris.

Speaker 3 (30:27):
And we've got okay, and a lot of editors putting
sound in, but they don't matter.

Speaker 2 (30:31):
You know, this is the one important show every year
that we do, and people need to be on their toes.
And I don't think they're on their toes, to be
honest with you, you know what I mean. So I'm
a little upset about that because we know that this
show every year Steve Kirk could call in once he
gets eliminated from the playoffs. Our next show is the
show that we think he's going to call in. And

(30:52):
I'm waiting for Steven to call on in today and
I think, like the phones are on like mute or
something like that. Nobody's answering. I tried calling. Nobody's answering.

Speaker 3 (31:01):
Well, let me just go ahead and say, if you
guys were really good friends, they have this thing now
where you could text him.

Speaker 1 (31:07):
We're like two peas in a pod. Hey Steve, what
are you doing? Hey? Steve? Uh?

Speaker 3 (31:11):
Why don't you come on the show. We're just chilling tonight.
I wasn't even let Plank ask a question. You just
come on and we'll talk, Paul.

Speaker 2 (31:18):
But wouldn't it be better if we if it was
like a surprise and he was going to call in
and we didn't know, We didn't know if he was
calling in or not.

Speaker 1 (31:24):
We just have to wait.

Speaker 5 (31:25):
You're going biblical on us. It's just like the thing.

Speaker 2 (31:28):
You don't understand. I mean, sooner or later, he's got
to call in, right. He can't keep ignoring me for
crying out loud?

Speaker 1 (31:34):
Yes, he can't. Like a decade now.

Speaker 3 (31:36):
I mean we are ten years in and he still
has and I don't know how long that been.

Speaker 1 (31:40):
Today was the day started.

Speaker 2 (31:41):
I think today was going to be the day.

Speaker 1 (31:43):
Wouldn't call last night?

Speaker 2 (31:45):
Well, because he was waiting for Sunday. You probably didn't
know I was on Saturday.

Speaker 3 (31:49):
There wasn't realizing you were filling in. Yeah, well, we'll
keep her finger scars.

Speaker 2 (31:53):
Give out the number, Give out the Steve Kerr hotline number. Please,
uh let me see so he can get a bunch
of fake Steve curves on one. Because you don't answer
the phone anyway, So what difference doesn't.

Speaker 5 (32:03):
I'm a technical producer. That's not my job. Dance to
the phone.

Speaker 3 (32:06):
Steve Kerr magical number to call in his eight four seven.

Speaker 1 (32:10):
No, that's not it.

Speaker 2 (32:11):
That don't know that's my home number. That's the gag
about that. That my sell number?

Speaker 1 (32:16):
Bad? What's wrong with you? Said the Steve Kurrot lineup.

Speaker 2 (32:19):
Hey, Steve Karrott like age seven seven, ninety nine on Fox,
okay ninety nine on Fox, age seven seven, and our
producers are standing by right now, So the operator standing by,
let's let's go.

Speaker 3 (32:38):
Ahead, because you know me, I'm a very I gotta
have things explained to me.

Speaker 1 (32:41):
Like a five year old.

Speaker 3 (32:42):
Yes, Yes, we are on ten years now of waiting
for Steve Kurr to call.

Speaker 2 (32:47):
Yes, he's called before, just that when you've been.

Speaker 1 (32:49):
Here, right, I don't think that's true.

Speaker 2 (32:52):
And I've talked to him before when I was working
at another place.

Speaker 1 (32:55):
Okay, how long ago was that? I don't know. I
lost track. I think think he was still in Arizona whenever.

Speaker 3 (33:01):
That's but it's just we've been waiting ten years because
you guys are so tight, yes, but yet you refuse
to text and set this up on his number that
you allegedly have because you just want to be surprised
by him.

Speaker 2 (33:15):
What happens if we get ahold of him and he goes,
I don't even remember you, I don't know who the
hell you are.

Speaker 1 (33:20):
I don't doubt that that might be what happens. You
could very well be. Maybe he's upset you for that.

Speaker 2 (33:27):
Well, maybe he's upset because I was a better basketball
player at high school.

Speaker 1 (33:31):
Who knows?

Speaker 3 (33:32):
So brought up his sacred brought up the legal side
of this, and uh, Sports Media Watch tweeted this to
better understand.

Speaker 1 (33:41):
Wow, we were watching hockey all right?

Speaker 3 (33:43):
Why we were watching a nine to one baseball game
instead of switching to hockey.

Speaker 1 (33:47):
Here's the story.

Speaker 3 (33:49):
MLB and ESPN went to court in the nineties because
ESPN tried to bump Sunday Night Baseball to ESPN two
in favor of the NFL. In Major League Baseball so
agriv over ESPN trying to put Sunday Night Baseball on
ESPN two during the NFL season that it terminated its
contract with the network three years early. ESPN sued Major

(34:12):
League Baseball counter sued all over September baseball games Wow,
there's apparently the why behind this, because I just don't know. Man,
You would think you would think, Arnie, that you would
want a playoff game over a nine to one early season.

Speaker 2 (34:28):
You you could have still moved the hockey game to
ESPN two, right, and that way, if.

Speaker 1 (34:34):
That's what they did.

Speaker 3 (34:35):
I mean, they had the hockey game on the duce
and now they're I guess simulcasting it. But the good
news is we have a hockey game on during the
show and I get to act like I've been watching
hockey alls. All right, when we come back, your texts,
your tweets, excuse me, are great to start the show.
We'll roll through those and listen, we were forty two

(34:57):
minutes in and we haven't really talked about the Ja
Morant took another unfortunate twist today. We'll talk about it
next right here on Fox Sports Radio. All right, it's
already in Plank on Fox Sports Radio at Stink Ingenius one.

Speaker 1 (35:12):
I'm at Plank Show.

Speaker 3 (35:13):
Everybody should follow us at Fox Sports Radio as we
come to you live from the tire rack dot Com studios.
You want need some tweets, you want to get off
on little jaw here, which way would you rather.

Speaker 2 (35:26):
Either way when we could do some tweets and get
into John next hour if you want. There's so much
to talk about him. I'm very disappointed, but you know
there's another side to.

Speaker 1 (35:33):
This whole thing, to be honest with you.

Speaker 3 (35:34):
Well, I like that as a tease. I like that
as a tease, Arnie Spaniel. Let's go, though. I did
think UCLA Dodger. Frank asked one of the best questions
of the night on Twitter, what happens first Steve Kurr
finally calls in, or the Sixers twitter feed posts today's
final score. If you go to at Sixers on Twitter,

(35:58):
and I assume this is their fall feed. I can't
tell anything on social media anymore. It has a blue
check mark. But who knows. They only have the halftime
score up. They only have the halftime score up.

Speaker 2 (36:09):
Maybe I don't know the final score yet, bust it
up fifty five two at the half and myore and
my defense. I don't know how long we've been on
on the station up there in San Francisco, ninety five
to seven in the game, So maybe Steve has not
heard me for him to call into the show, you
know what I mean? Maybe uh, you know it's oh,

(36:32):
stop it. I've had him on before. You know what,
when he made the game, when he shot against what
was it Utah? When he was a player, Yeah, when
he was a player. No I jet that.

Speaker 1 (36:44):
No, no, no, no, I've had him.

Speaker 2 (36:45):
I had him wait wait wait no no no, I've
had him on after he was coaching too, Because I said,
joining is now three time champion, and he goes, how
many rings do I have?

Speaker 1 (36:54):
I go four? He goes how many? I go five?

Speaker 2 (36:58):
I go I don't count the coaching one, so I
didn't know, but I think he got mad at that.

Speaker 1 (37:03):
Yeah, I wonder why he might not call. I only
count you need more people.

Speaker 3 (37:08):
So so you know, I think he's won nine rings.

Speaker 2 (37:14):
Yeah, not the time I talk to him. But I
don't count the coaching ones, just the playing ones.

Speaker 1 (37:18):
Well he won five as a player. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (37:20):
Yeah, so I I look, I'm sure he's going to
call in today. I feel pretty confident. I'm about eighty
six percent sure he's calling in.

Speaker 1 (37:27):
I don't know, just like you.

Speaker 5 (37:28):
Were confident about the Knicks making the Eastern Conference finals.

Speaker 1 (37:30):
Gosh, my goodness, man, I.

Speaker 3 (37:33):
Don't I don't know what bit makes me want to
quit radio more which one? Yes, you waiting for Steve
Kerr to call the show, or thinking that I'm not
going to show up if my team loses. Even though
you want to brag about how you're a bigger fan
than everyone else, but.

Speaker 2 (37:50):
There is going to be a time that your team
is going to give you, just disappoint you so bad.
You're like blanket, I'm not coming in today.

Speaker 1 (37:56):
Well I can't because I get paid per show. I'm not.
I'm not on this massive salary that you are, right.

Speaker 3 (38:03):
Yeah, yeah, here's here's Brendan who writes or any sports
nightmares about to come true. Either the Heat or the
Celtics are going to the NBA Final. As a Knicks fan,
he should avoid the TV during the series. He can't
stand either one of them.

Speaker 1 (38:18):
I think, Yeah, no, I don't like either one.

Speaker 2 (38:20):
I still got my Lakers in there, though, so I'm
very excited about that. Remember I picked the Lakers back
at the beginning of the season. That was my team.
Remember what I don't don't don't laugh. I picked them
for the wrong reasons though, because I said that Russell
Westbrook was gonna help them carry them.

Speaker 1 (38:35):
But that doesn't make any difference.

Speaker 2 (38:36):
I said they were gonna go to the finals, and
they're looking pretty good right now.

Speaker 1 (38:39):
Well, again, I kind of think it does matter.

Speaker 3 (38:44):
You picked them to go to the finals because of
the impact you thought Russell Westbrook would have.

Speaker 2 (38:48):
That doesn't matter. You picked them to go to the finals.
That's all that matters out. That's like saying, Okay, you
picked them winning lottery numbers, but you did it by accident.

Speaker 3 (38:56):
Okay, so what you know you did you bat on
them so we could have lottery conversation.

Speaker 1 (39:02):
No, I didn't bet on them, No, of course not.

Speaker 3 (39:05):
But I'll kudos to you, and I love your burner account.
Like pac twelve Gura guy sends a tweet at me
and it's like, oh, well go it. I told you
we're gonna ride. Like I'm a Lakers fan, I'm glad
you guys were right. I've just seen this script before.
Apparently championship pedigree only mattered in like Game seven of
the King series, and it didn't matter in the Lakers series. Right,

(39:27):
But that was one hell of a performance by the
Lakers in the second half of that game on what
was that Thursday night, Wednesday night. All these wins Lakers
are running together. They just all run together right now.
It's such a good time. And then one more, one
more that I wanted to get here before we hit
the top of the hour. Our buddy Pete writes, I
will give Arni as props on the Jets call.

Speaker 1 (39:47):
I agree with him.

Speaker 3 (39:48):
I believe the Jets will be the most overrated team
in the NFL this year. Too many assumptions about players
who are either new to New York are coming off
a major injury.

Speaker 1 (39:59):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (40:00):
I saw Colin put up the schedule and I don't know,
we're already got a time. I said, oh my goodness,
the first six games are brutal. I had him going
one and five and I got just attacked on Twitter.

Speaker 1 (40:09):
It was crazy.

Speaker 3 (40:10):
Well, you know what, that sets a good table for

in part by Discover. At the end of the first year,

Now an hour one, we chatted with Gary Washburn for
the Boston Globe. If you miss that, you can find
it on the podcast Fox Sports Radio dot Com. Coming
up here in moments, Todd Furman live from Vegas. We've
got an NFL schedule release. We've got some win totals
to talk about, and Arnie's projection of the Jets starting
one in five. By the way, in that one in five,

(41:24):
who are you giving their win two?

Speaker 2 (41:27):
I think it was the Denver game, But no, no, no,
that one was on the road. Maybe the Patriots. I'm
not sure. I think it was the Patriots.

Speaker 1 (41:34):
Well, because you got Buffalo.

Speaker 3 (41:36):
To open at Dallas in New England and Casey at
home back to back.

Speaker 1 (41:40):
So that's what at Denver and home for Philly.

Speaker 2 (41:42):
Yeah, it's it's that game and it's one in five
to start the season.

Speaker 3 (41:46):
So you're giving them New England to give them the win.
So high hopes on the Broncos again this year.

Speaker 2 (41:52):
Not really, they'll be a little bit better obviously a
Sean Payton, but not high holes or anything like.

Speaker 3 (41:57):
Well, I've got a bunch of dates from the I
want to throw in front of you, but listen, we've
got more on Doc Rivers future with the seventy six ers. Obviously,
Monni Williams is out with his Son's a little shocking.
We've got the final four set in the NBA and
it's a little bit surprising, right But today center Stage
got taken a little bit and it's not a repeat

(42:20):
of a show from a while back. But John Morant
made poor choices. Now, Arnie, you said you've got a
little bit of a different perspective on this, WAW Why
isn't the Grizzlies warning enough to where you wouldn't put
yourself in that situation?

Speaker 2 (42:33):
Yes, it is. First of all, what he did, you know,
absolutely is like he's a knucklehead. He went ahead and
you said that he wasn't going to do this again.
He already cost himself, Chris, just south of forty million
dollars right because he didn't get to one of the
three All NBA teams, which meant he couldn't get the
Supermax contract. End the costing of my I think it

(42:54):
was like thirty two to thirty three million. I know
he's still going to get paid and have his money,
but that's a lot of money. Chris, think about that
for a second. You know, I know we hear one
hundred million, two hundred million, three hundred million, and we
just kind of shrug off. You know, thirty five million.
That's a lot of dough to be leaving on the table.
Doesn't seem that likes bothers him at all. Now you
see the video and you're saying he's doing it again.

(43:17):
What a knucklehead. He's putting his job in jeopardy. He
doesn't care what people think about him. He doesn't care
if he loses endorsements. This is the way he's going
to be. My thing is this though, Chris and I
brought this up last time. Did you see the gut
in the video. Chris Um, Yeah, okay, did you see
what kind of gut it was?

Speaker 1 (43:36):
I mean I wouldn't know. It looked like it told me.

Speaker 2 (43:40):
I wouldn't know either. I couldn't tell you if it
was fake or real. Suppose it was fake. We have
no idea too. What he did was not illegal. It's
not illegal to bare arms. I mean you can do
that now. That is still up to each individual right now.
And three it was on his own time. So what
exactly has he done wrong to deserve a suspension? If

(44:04):
everything he's done is legal, I don't condone it. I
don't think he should be doing it. I think somebody
should be talking to him about him. But what exactly
what law has he broken?

Speaker 1 (44:15):
Is what I'm asking you. Well, I mean, if it's
a if he has permit, then none.

Speaker 3 (44:23):
But in that same vein, his employer told him stop,
and you could have to stop.

Speaker 2 (44:30):
What to bear arms on your own time in your
own area that you can't do.

Speaker 1 (44:36):
That you can't do, No, you can't. Already he's not
bearing arms. He's swinging around a.

Speaker 3 (44:42):
Gun, right, I understand, and I know that's not a
responsible gun on it, but it isn't either but that's
still his right under the constitution.

Speaker 2 (44:52):
That's his right, and you can't tell anybody no it
is not. You do have to pay the consequences. But
it was on his own.

Speaker 1 (45:00):
Hi, that's right. You just hit it on the head.

Speaker 3 (45:02):
You're like fighting about for some reason Second Amendment, Amendment laws.

Speaker 1 (45:06):
No, but that's not what this is about.

Speaker 3 (45:08):
This is about your boss, your owner, your team, your governor, sorry, whatever,
saying stop it. This is about you sitting there saying
I'm gonna be a different person and then going out
and doing the exact same thing that you said you
wouldn't do. You don't know what's telling me you can't
have a gun. They're telling them to quit acting like an.

Speaker 2 (45:26):
Idiot with it right, And you know what, maybe he
said that, you know what all I did was all
you saw. It was on a video. It was in
my hands. So what that's none of your business what
I do on my own free time. Now, we used
to see stuff in contracts, you know, like a football
player who would want to drive race cars like you
know back in the old day, like day in Pastorini,
and they used to put stuff in like you can't

(45:47):
do that. We don't want your skydiving. We don't want
you doing race cars or ready you like that until
they start saying, you know what, that's not constantly you
can't be doing.

Speaker 1 (45:56):
It's like constitutional where you're if you're not doing anything
illegally raw, you can't tell people he can't be doing
stuff like that.

Speaker 2 (46:03):
So I'm wondering how this is gonna play out, if
the NBA is really gonna give him the big suspension
to start off next year, if they're allowed to do that,
I'm sure a good attorney we have a few good
things to say about something like that. I've just thought
so sure it's that cut and dry, to be honest
with you, Chris.

Speaker 1 (46:19):
I think it is.

Speaker 3 (46:20):
And I don't understand your want to defend him in this.
I mean, he was told to stop and listen. It's
not just like one incident, Ronie. I love John Moran,
but he's been in a series of alleged criminal activities.
He's flashed He allegedly flashed the gun at the Pacers
team boughs.

Speaker 1 (46:39):
Yeah, goodness, sakes right. If they tell you to a.

Speaker 3 (46:42):
Stop, right, They're not going and taking your guns from you.
They're not knocking on your door. Hey, get out of
my cold dad hand. That's not what's happening here. This
isn't a constitutional issue. This is them saying, quit being
a knucklehead. We want to pay you two hundred million dollars,
and you're doing every thing to make sure we won't.

Speaker 1 (47:01):
Right.

Speaker 2 (47:02):
No, and I understand that you're one hundred percent right
on that, But I just don't know if they could
really suspend him. You know, they said, okay, you know,
stop acting like a knuckleut. But when he flashed that gun,
that was with NBA business. This time it was on
his own time, on his own business. I don't think
we could be telling people what to do on their
own time in their own business if it's not illegal.

Speaker 3 (47:22):
So if Scott Shapiro, yes, called you and told you
to stop doing something because you're embarrassing and you're disappointing
sponsors and people involved with Fox Sports Radio, would you
then turn and say, I got a constitutional right, I'll

(47:43):
do whatever I want.

Speaker 1 (47:45):
Na, you would and you would stop doing it because
you like your job. No, I understand that.

Speaker 2 (47:48):
But if he said, you know what, to stop carrying
a gun with you, and I said, hey, you don't
know what's caring you don't understand. I live in a
bad area. I want to defend myself for whatever my
reason is. It's I don't have to explain that to you.
It's my right to do that. So as long as I,
you know, act responsibly, and obviously he wasn't acting responsibly.

Speaker 1 (48:09):
That's the big difference.

Speaker 3 (48:10):
You keep answering your own question, Josh, Josh right, Tarti's
absolutely right. Joe's on his own time. He didn't point
it at anyone, didn't commit a crime. It's stupid, but
he didn't break any laws. What happened to freedom? You
have all the freedom that you want, all the freedom
that you want. But Josh, if they tell you to
stop swinging around a gun in a video and your

(48:32):
employer says, please don't do this again.

Speaker 1 (48:34):
If you do, we're gonna have to fire you.

Speaker 3 (48:36):
You can sit there and go, well, I thought, there's
with America and all you want and they're gonna fire ass.

Speaker 1 (48:41):
Dude. You're going You.

Speaker 3 (48:43):
Can tweet whatever you want, it's your Twitter feed, but
if you say something that ends up putting a company
or your business in bad light, your gunna get fired.
We see it happen over and over. It doesn't mean
that you can't do it. It just means that you're
going to be in trouble if he continue to do it.
And that's what's happening here, man.

Speaker 2 (49:04):
Well, that doesn't mean you can't do it there. And two,
like I said, do we even know that the gun
was for real? Do we know it's a fake gun?
I mean when you're laughing at that, I'm not a
gun expert, so I would.

Speaker 1 (49:15):
Have no idea. For all I know it was a
NERF gun and he was braved.

Speaker 2 (49:18):
Would you even risk that? Then you're right again. I
can't answer that, Chris. I don't know what's going through
the young man's mind. You know, somebody put this on Twitter.
If you watch the video carefully, his friend kind of
sees that, oh my goodness, he has a gun and
tries to pull the camera away from it so that

(49:39):
you don't see the gun.

Speaker 1 (49:40):
I don't know if I actually.

Speaker 2 (49:41):
Saw that, but you saw that, right, you go okay,
so you can see that the guy was a little
surprised that Joh had a gun in his hand.

Speaker 1 (49:49):
I'm guessing what you're on Instagram life.

Speaker 3 (49:52):
If I was looking right, there's what about one hundred
and twenty one people that were in there, So it's
not a massive about a people for an Instagram live.
But I'm here to tell you right now, I don't
disagree with what you're.

Speaker 1 (50:05):
Saying, Arnie.

Speaker 3 (50:05):
I don't disagree with any one is saying about you
have rights to You absolutely have rights. But again, that
doesn't mean an employer has to employ you are that
you can't get suspended because you've been warned about conduct detrimental,
your actions being out of control. He's not going to
get fired for it because someone he's an incredible talent.
Someone's still going to pay him. It's not illegal to

(50:28):
drink RNE. It's not against the law to drink. But
if your employer tells you you got to stop on
the sauce, man, we're tired of seeing you getting hammered
all the time, and you're like, it's my constitution, all right.

Speaker 1 (50:39):
Eventually you're gonna get fired because you keep drinking.

Speaker 2 (50:41):
No, And that is a good point. Unless you're drinking
effects what you bring to the court. That's a little
bit of a different circumstance here. I don't think him
having a gun in his hand makes a difference whatsoever
and how he acts on the basket.

Speaker 1 (50:54):
Really, Yeah, why am I wrong on that?

Speaker 3 (50:56):
You see how he handles the damn thing. He needs
to go to a firearms class and learn how to
use it. Am gun number one and number two, he's
got to quit flashing it around. That's not responsible gun ownership.
He also number two, you've been told stop it, Arnie again.
The I don't disagree with everyone having the freedom to
do what they want. And there is a hell of

(51:18):
a debate that we can have about your employer's rights
to your time when you're.

Speaker 1 (51:22):
Away from work.

Speaker 3 (51:23):
But nine point nine out of ten times we've lost
those fights about how you live with social media, now
you are always representing where you work always.

Speaker 2 (51:33):
Could you imagine if I was, let's say, uh, protesting
just something in the political realm, not the sports from right,
and they said to me, hey, you can't protest that
you're against abortion or for abortion.

Speaker 1 (51:49):
I can't.

Speaker 2 (51:50):
You're gonna tell me something what you're you're making the Actually,
a lot of people have gotten fired for being protests.

Speaker 5 (51:55):
A lot of people have gotten fired for their jobs.

Speaker 1 (51:57):
For going to pet I don't think this is the
best example that.

Speaker 2 (52:01):
I disagree on that.

Speaker 1 (52:03):
Also, you don't think anyone's got fired because but.

Speaker 2 (52:05):
Maybe because they were wearing a shirt that out of
the emblem or logo of the work or something like that.
If it's not my.

Speaker 5 (52:11):
No no no, no no no no no no no
no no no. During during like all the George Floyce,
if a lot of people got fired from their jobs,
a lot of.

Speaker 1 (52:17):
The people got fired.

Speaker 2 (52:18):
You you tell me who got fired because you said
I'm pro abortion or against abortion?

Speaker 1 (52:23):
I want to know right now, all the time, and
it does happen all the time.

Speaker 3 (52:29):
You know, when a situation comes up, you see someone's
gonna get fired for a tweet over this, and they
always do.

Speaker 1 (52:35):
It always happens.

Speaker 2 (52:36):
Well, maybe because the tweet was offensive or something to
that effect.

Speaker 1 (52:40):
Out there, what job did I mean? It's not Well, even.

Speaker 3 (52:43):
If it's not against the law, it's stupid.

Speaker 1 (52:46):
So why would you lose your job?

Speaker 3 (52:48):
Saying something offensive isn't against the law, So why would
you lose your job? But it could be detrimental to
the So a guy flashing around a gun in a
video and they told him to stop doing it is
in detrimental.

Speaker 1 (52:59):
If it's who knows if it was loaded.

Speaker 2 (53:02):
We don't have any of those answers right now, we
don't even know if it was loaded.

Speaker 1 (53:05):
Why would you even risk it? What have you unloaded gun? Period?

Speaker 2 (53:11):
Why would you risk it when they told you to stop?
Who knows what exactly they told them? Who knows if
they said, uh, don't have a gun at all, or
you know, not on uh don't do it on video?
Who knows exactly what they told them? I don't know, right,
So why risk it? I mean, That's what I'm gonna
keep coming back to this whole You're right, You're again,
I wouldn't risk it. I don't want to lose thirty
five million dollars. I agree with you. I'm I'm on

(53:35):
your side where I don't want to lose thirty five million.
But you've got to look at it both ways. There
is a legal issue about this one also there correct, right,
But I again.

Speaker 1 (53:43):
We're getting a lot of tweets on this if you.

Speaker 3 (53:46):
Look at it from a legal side, at least in
the times, whenever I've had a deal with contractual situations, right,
your employer will put things in there, Hey, if this
this and this happens, this contract can be terminated. And
I'm sure they're performance and clause of that nature in
there as well too. But anyway, I'll tell you one
thing to me, just me personally. Yeah, Yes, whatever they

(54:10):
thought had helped to kind of, you know, get him
in the right frame of mind, and where if it
whatever they thought was just didn't work. I mean, you
need more than a conversation with Jalen freaking Rose. I mean,
this is a guy that thought the weather was affecting
the New York Knicks when they played in Miami. So
I think when you start reevaluating using him as somebody

(54:30):
that you know would be a crutch to kind of
lean on, I also think that maybe forty eight hour
rehab sinners whatever that was for in Miami, aren't necessarily
the best way to go.

Speaker 1 (54:40):
I'mn't even serious about that.

Speaker 2 (54:41):
Well what exactly was he rehabbing for stupidity?

Speaker 1 (54:44):
Oh no, believe I mean I'm not really sure about that.

Speaker 2 (54:47):
My question to you is is this, let's just say,
out of argument's sake, Memphis, is you're out of here tomorrow.

Speaker 1 (54:52):
You're cut, all right, here's your money, You're not.

Speaker 2 (54:54):
Your money doesn't make a difference here, Goodbye, we don't
watch on the team.

Speaker 1 (54:58):
How many other teams you think would take a fire on.

Speaker 2 (55:00):
Him with all the bad pub you've seen, with the
waving the gun.

Speaker 6 (55:04):
And how many everyone.

Speaker 2 (55:07):
Right, exactly probably exactly, Which is my point is if
it was so bad and so terrible what he did,
there'd be zero.

Speaker 3 (55:15):
Tam Listen the NBA ownership game, they don't mess around either, Arnie.
The governors, if you will, right, they could get together
and say, now, we're not doing this.

Speaker 2 (55:25):
We're not going to risk that's collusion if you do that.

Speaker 1 (55:28):
Yeah, well we've seen that happen before you. I'm just
telling you that's against the law.

Speaker 3 (55:32):
But I'm just here to tell everybody that if you
think this is my constitutional right and I will do
it it is legal, you're still gonna get fired if
they tell you to stop doing it. All right, bad
Medical marijuana is a big deal here in Oklahoma, Arnie.
You might have a medical marijuana card, but if you
go to a place and wants to test you from
marijuana and.

Speaker 1 (55:50):
You're like, I have a car, they're like, sorry, you're fired.

Speaker 3 (55:53):
So it's just it's the reality of regardless of all
these you want to fight it out in court, go
for it.

Speaker 1 (56:00):
Good luck.

Speaker 3 (56:00):
You're probably gonna lose because there's going to be rules
in this case. In this case, the rules been been
very clear to Ja Morant at least I think they are.

Speaker 1 (56:09):
Don't get in trouble, don't put yourself in bad spots.

Speaker 2 (56:11):
Right, and then that's what it really comes down to.
You don't do You know there's stuff that is not illegal,
and you know people still get in trouble.

Speaker 3 (56:20):
Now, we'll dive into this more with Todd coming up

Speaker 1 (56:39):
Let's put a wrap on this with Todd. All right,
what do you say?

Speaker 3 (56:41):
Todd Furman joins us from Vegas Bet the Board podcast
Incredible follow on Twitter. Todd, what did you make of
the latest Ja Morant twist?

Speaker 1 (56:49):
In turn? I mean, is this going to cost him
more time?

Speaker 3 (56:51):
Could the Grizzlies potentially punt? What do you think the
next step should be here?

Speaker 10 (56:56):
I think the league has to step in and we
talk about Pedes. One of the issues that you worry
about from a league integrity standpoint, given everything that this
country has gone through when it comes to gun violence.
I mean, this should be a zero tolerance policy for
a player that was suspended. There's no reason to do this.
You have the world at your fingertips and to make
these kind of boneheaded decisions off the court. I don't

(57:17):
think it should just be on the Grizzlies, honestly, I
think it should be on the league, and they should
try and make an example of one of the superstars
who's supposed to be the face of the league going forward.

Speaker 1 (57:24):
You know, Todda.

Speaker 2 (57:25):
I brought up what exactly is he done wrong legally?
Because if they tell them we don't want you having
any guns, what about the guys that use guns for hunting?
I mean, that's gonna be okay. I don't know if
anybody uses guns running on their team, but I know
those athletes that do do that. I mean, because it's
a fine line here when we tell you something like that,

(57:45):
they'll time.

Speaker 10 (57:46):
No, you're right, Arnie end. Look, it can't be you know,
one of those things that's truly black and white. I mean,
depending on what state you're in. There are different rules
and regulations that are there. But if the league can
have a stance on certain issues, they can obviously take
a stance on firearms. We know the stories about Gilbert
Arena on team planes and everything else, so you know,
I'm not sure what's going on there, but it feels
like a much bigger issue. I'm not going to claim

(58:06):
to know what's going on inside of John Moran's head,
the locker room, or anywhere inside that Grizzlies organization, but
somewhere the league has to try and step in. And
I think it's a bigger indictment, honestly, mainly because it's
a superstar as much as anything else we all know
in sports. If this was a tense guy coming off
the Grizzlies bench, they probably would have cut bait already.
It's a much more complex issue now knowing what John

(58:27):
Morant means to that franchise and what he means to
the league as a whole in terms of selling merchandise
and everything else that comes along with it.

Speaker 2 (58:33):
I mean, we got we have to find out a
was it even a real gun?

Speaker 1 (58:36):
Be was it loaded? I think those two things have
to be answered.

Speaker 2 (58:39):
I mean, could you imagine if he came out to
that was a nerf gun, we'd all look pretty stupid, wouldn't.

Speaker 1 (58:43):
I think he looks stupider to be here.

Speaker 10 (58:45):
Yeah, I think if I think if that was the case,
he'd be issuing a statement already and his team would
have tried to speak up. But hey, weirder things have happened, Arnie,
So I never rule out the obscene and the absurd, kidd.

Speaker 3 (58:56):
I just I'm kind of shocked by your willingness. I
think Arnie's trying to make sure he ends up with
the Knicks with that in mind, Tod, you get the
Lakers and the Nuggets. What's kind of your early feel
on this? The Lakers have any answer for yokichenside you
think they.

Speaker 10 (59:09):
Do if they stay healthy. I mean, the one thing
when you look at this Lakers team that they've answered
the bell through the first two series, doing things that
we didn't think they were capable of slowing down very
differently built teams. And when you look at the Lakers,
when you have a player like Anthony Davis, you have
Lebron James, obviously there is a ton of star power.
So you never want to discount that, and I think
more impressively from the Lakers what we've seen this postseason,

(59:31):
some of the role players are stepping up, whether it's
Austin Reeves or Lonnie Walker or anybody else on that roster.
It really feels like it's the sum of its parts.
This is a Denver team that's very good and shouldn't
be taken likely, and they're the rightful favorite. But I
think this is going to have a lot of ebbs
and flows, and I don't think it's FATA company that
either one of these teams wins this thing in a
short series.

Speaker 2 (59:50):
Todd sportsbooks are gonna have to close down if the
Lakers win. I mean, I've heard about people getting one
hundred and fifty to one, one hundred to one, fifty
to one, thirty to one all through this whole the thing.
They're betting the Lakers to win the whole vau They're
going to destroy some of those sports books out there.

Speaker 10 (01:00:05):
There's no doubt a lot of liability when you talk
about a public team and everything that comes along with it.
But if books didn't feel comfortable, you know, kind of
taking those bets, then they shouldn't have hung numbers along
those lines, and I think that's how you get caught
between a rock and a hard place, thinking certain things
can't happen. And I'm sure we'll see stories circulating in
the next you know, three to five days from a
lot of the more prominent writers in the sports gambling

(01:00:25):
space sharing exactly what books are on the hook, how
big some of those tickets are, and look, it's not
just a big time players, but it's a lot of
ten and twenty dollars bests for folks that love to
make their three and a half hour trip from Los
Angeles to Vegas on a regular basis.

Speaker 3 (01:00:39):
Todd, I want to shift to college football real quick
because not a big FPI guy, S and P guy.
But it came out and the team that was DFL
worst team in college football was Colorado, So make it
make sense that they would be one of the most
bet teams to win the national championship this year?

Speaker 1 (01:00:57):
Are we just I don't know.

Speaker 3 (01:01:00):
Is it all about flash and sizzle sometimes on these
future bets?

Speaker 10 (01:01:04):
For sure, people want us try and chase after the
biggest storyline out there. And there's no doubt that Dion
captivated the entire college football world with everything he did,
bringing in a bunch of higher profile transfers. Unfortunately for him,
a lot of the existing scholarship players no longer on
the roster. And what we've seen already in Colorado is
their win total that was available at a couple prominent
sportsbooks at five and a half kicked down to three

(01:01:25):
and a half, and I think that's pretty much where
it's going to sit. When you look at Colorado's schedule.
There aren't a whole lot of gimmes in place for
the Buffaloes this year, so it could be some growing
pains of fulsome field, but there's no doubt we'll see
exactly what Dion can do. And I think anytime people
are talking about Colorado football, it's probably not the worst
thing for those folks up there in Boulder.

Speaker 2 (01:01:44):
You know, the NFL schedule obviously came out. You know,
it's reminds me of like Steve Martin and the jerk
what he's like, the new phone book is here, the
new phone book is there. But we already knew the
schedule and stuff like that. But once the schedule came out,
did any team go up or down significantly?

Speaker 1 (01:01:59):
Because because of.

Speaker 2 (01:02:01):
The way the games were played, out or the way
they were play or nothing really happened.

Speaker 10 (01:02:05):
You know one team that took professional money under as
soon as the wins the schedule came out was the
Los Angeles Rams. I think a lot of people were
waiting to try and figure out if the Rams were
going to draw the Arizona Cardinals a couple of times
early in the season before Kyler Murray could come back.
Once it looked like that Kyler Murray should be slated
to be back for the second meeting between them, you've
seen that number move a little bit, and as a result,

(01:02:26):
that Rams total at seven and a half has come
down at six and a half at some books and
may continue to trend a little bit further down. The
other team that I think has, you know, a fourtuitous
bounce from their schedule becomes the Jacksonville Jaguars. They'll go
about six weeks between playing true road games. They'll be
the first team to play back to back weeks in London,
and instead of going to Orchard Park, New York, where
we knew was going to be the case, they'll draw
the Buffalo Bills on foreign soil. You look at the

(01:02:48):
division they play, and I fully expect Jacksonville's odds to
win the South to continue to tick up and we
might see their wins. It will go from ten heavily
shaded to the over into that ten and a half range.

Speaker 3 (01:02:57):
So with that in mind, completely off the beaten path,
are you a believer that this is a kind of
a test to see if maybe there is a chance
for a team in overseas in London, England, wherever, Germany
for the NFL? Or do you think we'll just continue
to have a handful of international games?

Speaker 8 (01:03:17):
Oh?

Speaker 10 (01:03:17):
I think the handful of international games provide the first
logical jumping off point, and then it wouldn't stun me
at all. With the NFL and the growing impact globally,
if you started to see a European division. Air travel
is getting easier than it's been. Teams are smarter about
what this means from a Circadian rhythm standpoint and everything else.
And honestly, as ridiculous as it sounds, we would have
thought it was outlandish for USC to have to travel

(01:03:40):
across the country to play conference games in the day
ten against Maryland and Rutgers no more than a handful
of years ago. Would it be that ridiculous if we
see teams on the East Coast making that trip to
London once a year, that's somewhat reasonable. The league would
just have to figure out what they were doing for
bye weeks, and I would hope that the league could
come to their senses and not force the forty nine
ers to travel to London to play on a Thursday
night foot after playing on Sunday.

Speaker 2 (01:04:01):
Todd, I last thing for me, how long do I
have to make my bet?

Speaker 1 (01:04:05):
All right?

Speaker 2 (01:04:05):
Once we find out the Nicks get Giannis and the
lines changed, how long do I have to bet so
I can get the old number?

Speaker 1 (01:04:11):
You know what I mean? Well change right away or
what they're Todd?

Speaker 10 (01:04:14):
You know, Arnie, if you have the kind of sources
that you've professed to have over all these years, there's
no doubt you'll get that intel long before you know
Woj and Shams end up sharing it. So you'll be
able to sneak into your local sports books, get down
as much as you'd like on your beloved Nis, and
hope that they're able to take it one step further
than what they did last year. Where they were this year,
I should say, the one they appear to be a
little bit undermanned in the trenches. So let's see what

(01:04:36):
happens for the next Clearly, Jalen Brunson has risen as
a superstar, going to need some of the supporting cast
around him. Jason Hard and nice glue guy. We've seen
what RJ. Barrickn do and develop, but in this league
you need a couple of guys and you know, Arnie, Hey, look,
Giannis may be just the guy the Knicks are looking
for now that the Buck's cut fit with Mike Budenholzer.

Speaker 1 (01:04:53):
Ay, men to that, my friend, Amen to that.

Speaker 3 (01:04:56):
By the way, you also did not have him as
a top ten player in the league just a year ago,
so once once you think he's coming to the Knicks,
he's incredible to Todd, have a great week, buddy.

Speaker 1 (01:05:06):
We always appreciate your time.

Speaker 10 (01:05:08):
Always a pleasure, gentlemen. You guys do well with you
next week.

Speaker 1 (01:05:10):
Thank you. At Todd Ferman on Twitter.

Speaker 3 (01:05:13):
Bet The Board of podcast is where you can find Todd.

Speaker 1 (01:05:16):
Just about twice twice a week. Good stuff at the
Board podcast.

Speaker 3 (01:05:19):
All right, Steve de Seger is in the house from
the Ti rock dot Com studio with everything going on
in the world of sports. It's Uh, it's getting a
little bit urgent here for the Edmonton Oilers.

Speaker 9 (01:05:29):
Steve Surprise Todd could speak. Vegas is winning four to
two at Edmonton. We've got about three minutes left in
this series, perhaps because Vegas has already up three games
to two in the second round Stanley Cup playoff.

Speaker 1 (01:05:43):
We've apparently, by the way, had now.

Speaker 9 (01:05:44):
The twentieth goalie change in game this NHL postseason, most
since nineteen ninety five. Vegas, a team that was a
one seed fifty one wins regular season. Edmonton had fifty wins.
The difference here tonight after three total goals in the
first three minutes and Vegas fell behind to one. Jonathan
Marcisso with three goals by himself in the second period,

(01:06:07):
a natural hat trick a Game seven of this series
would be in Vegas, may not be necessary under three
minutes to go. There is a second round Game seven
tomorrow night Seattle at Dallas. We had a Game seven
in the NBA playoffs to end the second round at Boston.
Today the Celtics eliminated Philadelphia. Now the game was tied
early third quarter finals score. Celtics won twelve to eighty eight.

(01:06:29):
Jason Tatum fifty one points, a new Game seven record,
and thirteen rebounds as well. Celtics os Miami Wednesday in
Game one of the East Finals. Denver host Game one
of the West Finals against the Lakers. On Tuesday night.
William Byron won NASCAR's four hundred at Darlington, South Carolina,
his third victory this season. Kevin Harvick finished second. Kyle Larson,

(01:06:50):
who won yesterday's Infinity Race there, wrecked today with six
laps remaining, battling for the lead. NASCAR's annual All Star
Races next Sunday night on FS one from North Oaks Barrow,
North Carolina, and then the six hundred for the Holiday
weekend at Charlotte the following week. The PGA Championship starts
Thursday in Rochester, New York. Dustin Johnson won the live
golf event in a playoff in Tulsa in Texas, Jason

(01:07:14):
Day took the Byron Nelson Tournament after a final round
sixty two. He won by one stroke. It's its first
tour title in five years. As for the Sunday night ballgame,
Cardinals nine to one winners at Boston, Miles Michaelis, who
had an ERA over five this year through six innings
at Boston, one run aloud got the win, the loss
to Corey Klueber two and five ERA over six. Dodgers

(01:07:36):
won their fifth straight game for nothing over the Padres,
who have lost five in a row. Pods record now
nineteen and twenty two. Manny Machado went oh for three
today and oh for eleven at the plate as he
was continually booed at Dodger Stadium. His average down to
two thirty two this se Mookie bets a two run
homer the win to Tony Gonzalez, Tony, Tony Gonsolin. It's

(01:07:57):
five innings at home. Another w fifteen and six at
home Tampa Bay at eight seven win at the Yankees
Toronto with two and the ninth beat Atlanta six five,
Minnesota sixteen to three over the Cubs. I'm trying to
keep one eye on this hockey game. They're in the
final minute now, Golden Knight's leading four to two and
there is.

Speaker 1 (01:08:17):
An empty net Betea five to two, empty nedder.

Speaker 3 (01:08:21):
Can you guys, I mean I need things explain to
me like I'm a five year old. Yes, sometimes yes,
And I mean to be clear, I think kind of
you do two warning, So how does this make sense?
The New York Jets and Aaron Rodgers are renegotiating, renegotiating contract.

Speaker 2 (01:08:39):
He'll get like a million seven this year and like
one hundred million next year.

Speaker 3 (01:08:43):
Well, you're close one point two mil this year, one
oh seven point six next year. It's one hundred and
seven million next year. And the way that it was
phrased in the tweet that I was tagged in says
when it's done, a chunk of his twenty twenty for
compensation will be returned to twenty twenty three.

Speaker 1 (01:09:05):
What I don't know. I have no idea. You know everything.

Speaker 2 (01:09:09):
Yes, I know I could make it up and says
how they didn't express but I mean, my goodness, I
don't even know.

Speaker 1 (01:09:14):
I always said this.

Speaker 2 (01:09:15):
How does it that if you don't want a guy
anymore and you're going to cut him, how it can
still hold you against the cap or something to that effect,
even if you trade him. It's got cap implications. I
don't understand how that works. It's crazy. It's never made
any sense to me. Okay, so your choice. We can
move on.

Speaker 3 (01:09:33):
We can talk about Doc's future, we can dive into
the Celtics and if we're on a collision course towards
Celtics Nuggets or Laker Celtics, we can dive into the
NFL schedule, or we can go kneeye on the jamarant
tweets your choice.

Speaker 9 (01:09:49):
On Aaron Rodgers' contract. Over the weekend, there is a
Mike Florial article that they had confirmed the Jets that
the way it was structured minimum salary so that a huge,
which meant that his total compensation for next year would
be over one hundred million. Do they restructure and then
make him stay the extra year instead of.

Speaker 2 (01:10:08):
Just catching something some teams have been doing too, is
voided years to kick some of that cap number down
the road as well, which is probably gonna be involved
here too.

Speaker 1 (01:10:17):
And Vegas has one.

Speaker 2 (01:10:18):
It's a five to two.

Speaker 1 (01:10:19):
Fin It's a final the Vegas Knights or moving on.

Speaker 3 (01:10:23):
They wait the winner of Game seven between the Crackett
and the Dallas Stars. Vegas beats Edmonton five to two
in front of a raucous crowd. Should have been the
Kings Kings bluet Game five they had him, should have
been the Kings. All right, here here's one. This is
what Craig's tweet was my favorite tweet, he writes, I'm

(01:10:45):
sure that I'm sure Jaw signed a conduct clause. Any
employer who wants an employee gone consider it done. You
can't fix stupid. It's time for him to play whatever
game he needs to. Jah, give your head a shake.

Speaker 11 (01:11:00):
You know.

Speaker 3 (01:11:01):
It seemed as if they were pretty pissed. Boy, I'm
cussing a lot tonight. Seems like they were a little
bit upset with the way that he handled things early.
So I would think, Cardie, there's got to be some
pretty strict rules in his whatever amendment, whatever he signed,
whatever they were agreeing upon when it came to hey,
get in your mind and getting yourself right right.

Speaker 2 (01:11:21):
And then he gave us that explanation after he did
the Jalen roasting, and you know, and you know, he
laid it out and a lot of people didn't believe
him at the time. I gave him the benefit of
the doubt. I'm like, I'm sure, you know, he's just
gonna move on from this and we're not gonna hear
about it again.

Speaker 1 (01:11:36):
And here we are, what like a month later? Is
it a month then?

Speaker 2 (01:11:40):
I don't even three four weeks, five weeks, I don't
even know and it's happened all over again. And you
think if, if, even if you didn't want to go
ahead and listen to what the team had to say,
or you felt you had the right to do this,
you would have thought that losing thirty five million dollars
would have been enough incentive to say, I've been to
clean up my act because I I just thought it

(01:12:02):
was it more than thirty five million.

Speaker 3 (01:12:04):
Do I just mean in general, like when you look
long term about it, because of future ramification.

Speaker 2 (01:12:09):
Right right, and also because of you know, endorsements and
stuff like that.

Speaker 3 (01:12:14):
Here's one from Justin in Cincinnati who writes, no self
respecting gun owner would act like joh and Arnie. If
your son was acting like that, you'd kick his backside.

Speaker 2 (01:12:25):
Yes, I would, absolutely, one hundred percent. I'd say, what
the hell are you doing like that? But then again,
it sounds like I'm condoning the actions of job Moran.
I just said, there's a difference between acting stupid and
doing something against the law. So before you have to,
you know, punish somebody that, you have to go ahead
and take a look at that.

Speaker 1 (01:12:44):
That's what I'm saying.

Speaker 3 (01:12:45):
Do you think the only rules for an employee employee
relationship or constitutional laws.

Speaker 1 (01:12:52):
No, no, no, then why would you even bring that up?

Speaker 2 (01:12:55):
Well, I mean look, I mean you can't go ahead
and protest wearing a company's shirt or something like that.
I think that's wrong though. Colin Kaepernick did that and
he was uh yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:13:07):
And then you've got the one guy that agrees with
you on this outside of your burner account. Pac twelve
guru Josh Wrights. Are we sure this isn't an older video, bro?
This thing has been out for like ten hours today.
I'm pretty sure if it was a fake gun, if
it was an older video.

Speaker 1 (01:13:23):
Right, that was not a live live stream. I don't
understand this. I don't my paw way just constitution.

Speaker 2 (01:13:32):
Around the worst kind of people at trying to act
like Southern lawyers here, just throwing stuff left eye.

Speaker 3 (01:13:37):
This isn't my cousin Vinny guys, I mean, come on,
this isn't that hard.

Speaker 1 (01:13:41):
You know what's great?

Speaker 2 (01:13:41):
You said only one hundred and twelve people were watching
the live stream?

Speaker 1 (01:13:44):
Huh?

Speaker 2 (01:13:46):
I when I put up my video of I was
playing reck basketball, where we get like twenty five thousand people,
I'm like, what, how's there? Only one hundred and twelve
people watching what jab mourans?

Speaker 3 (01:13:53):
Do you have twenty five thousand people watching a live
video of you playing rec League basketball?

Speaker 1 (01:13:59):
Yes, I don't zone.

Speaker 5 (01:14:01):
I'm hold on, hold on one second, Hold one second.
I've got something for that.

Speaker 1 (01:14:06):
Moment.

Speaker 3 (01:14:07):
You would be making millions of dollars if you had
twenty five thousand people watching you lot.

Speaker 2 (01:14:13):
Well, no, not maybe it's live, but one time or
the other, because sometimes they watch the replay of it
or something like that.

Speaker 1 (01:14:19):
Twenty five thousand views.

Speaker 3 (01:14:21):
I have it on the on the thing on congratulations
it's pig times. So you're more popular than John Moran.
There you go.

Speaker 1 (01:14:29):
You should be his account time. It wasn't his account though,
right that somebody else? Yes, that's right. All Hey, when
we come back here on Fox Sports, I'm Kardashian.

Speaker 3 (01:14:37):

Steve de Sega, how are you doing well?

Speaker 9 (01:15:04):
And gentlemen, it's a thirty year drought for Canada not
winning the Stanley Cup. Now that Edmonton has been eliminated, Tonight,
Vegas takes Game six on the road, five to two.
In fact, the Vegas goalie Aiden Hill gave up two
goals the first two shots he faced tonight that ESPN
didn't cover, you know, and then he stopped every shot

(01:15:25):
the rest of the night, thirty nine straight. And it's
now gone thirty years since the Canadian team won the
Cup since in nineteen ninety three Montreal beat the La
Kings and Ingres in the Canada.

Speaker 1 (01:15:39):
Get this stuff out in fairness. I was born. This
is nineteen ninety three, this year, Holy go.

Speaker 9 (01:15:51):
I remember saying once that, oh that was a year
that my team won the championship in One of the
interns said, yeah, I wasn't even born then. What are
we talking about here anyway? Yeah, Montreal with coach Doctor
Maher nineteen ninety three. When I used to cover ATHL,
the league was sixty percent Canadian players and about twenty

(01:16:11):
percent Americans and twenty percent Europeans. So there are a
lot of Canadians on the Vegas team that we saw tonight,
for example, But a Vegas based team is into the
conference final and the Canadian based teams are all done. Meanwhile,
Philadelphia is all done. Philly was in a game seven
and tied at Boston early in the third quarter and

(01:16:33):
still lost one twelve to eighty eight. James Harden had
nine points, three of eleven shooting, seven assists, five turnovers.
Joel Embiid for his fifteen points, was five of eighteen shooting.

Speaker 1 (01:16:46):
Wow.

Speaker 9 (01:16:46):
AP had a stat that here, it's been about eighty
to ninety games as teammates for Harden and Embiid, in
games that where they've combined for at least twenty five shots. Here,
only one of those did they shoot worse than they
shot today together, and that was in March of twenty
twenty two against the Celtics. Yeah, so Sixers had two

(01:17:08):
of their worst offensive performances of the season these last
two games, blowing the lead, and James Harden yet again
has a playoff game where he shoots under thirty percent
from the flash. Meanwhile, Jason Tatum had fifty one points.
And we're gonna get Game one in Boston for the
East Finals on Wednesday, and they're hosting an eight seed Miami.

Speaker 1 (01:17:28):
Just for the record.

Speaker 9 (01:17:29):
A year ago, Boston eliminated the Heat in the East Finals,
held on to win a Game seven at Miami as
Jimmy Butler missed a late jumper. Here Philadelphia today, I
mentioned it was tied in the third. They wound up
getting outscored in the third quarter thirty three to ten.
Apparently the ten points ties for the fewest in any
game seven quarter in the shot clock era. That's how

(01:17:51):
badly they tanked in the second half on the road.
And speaking of badly, another l in a Game seven
for coach Doc Rivers. In his career, he has lost
a game seven ten times, by far the most. Still
has never won a game seven on the road in
his career. He started three and two in Game sevens,
since then three and eight in Game sevens. It's been

(01:18:13):
years since he's won one of these since he was
with the Clippers. In fact, Philadelphia still has not as
a franchise won a second round series since Alan Iverson
when they won the East in two thousand and one.
Philadelphia has been in the second round and lost the
second round series five of the last six years. They've
lost three game sevens in that time. So the whole trust,
the process is not getting you through round two, and

(01:18:36):
that would be frustrating as a fan because they actually
waited for the team to do something and be something
through the draft and cheered wildly once they really recharged
and got back into the playoffs, and it's gotten them
this stretch. So meanwhile, Boston's in the Eastern Conference finals

(01:18:56):
three of the last four years, five of the last seven.
And this isn't the Leavin Garnett. This is a whole
new crop of players and they're doing it five of
the last seven years in the East Finals. Celtics at
home today. Remember Arnie we The mentioned it on last
night's show. They were sub five hundred in Celtics home
playoff games their last sixteen and here it was tied
in the third. That stat came to mind, and then

(01:19:18):
Philly just went in the tank. So Denver hosts on Tuesday,
hosts the Lakers in Game one of the West Final.
The NBA Draft lottery does come up on Tuesday, so
who's got the best chance. It's not one team. The
way they do things. Did you know that when they
first started, like when the Knicks got Patrick, You right.

Speaker 2 (01:19:35):
Right, it wasn't We did it over the cards so
you know which to pull out. No, no, that's not it.

Speaker 1 (01:19:41):
I'm sorry.

Speaker 9 (01:19:41):
Anyway, for the first few years, every team in the
lottery had the same odds to win it. That's certainly
not the case these days. It's the three worst teams Detroit, Houston,
San Antonio each have a fourteen percent chance of winning
the lottery Tuesday night. Charlotte has a twelve and a
half percent chance. Now the tenth worst Dallas. Remember they

(01:20:02):
very famously have a pick that's top ten protected this summer.
It's gonna go to New York if that selection falls outside.

Speaker 1 (01:20:09):
Of the top ten.

Speaker 9 (01:20:10):
So what if someone like maybe Chicago lottery happens to
be held in Chicago. We owner Chicago moves all the
way up, and that bumps Dallas down, and then it
and you know, then they missed the playoffs and missed
the top ten pick. Just saying all conference final games
coming up will start at eight thirty pm Eastern time.
NBA Final Star June first.

Speaker 1 (01:20:29):

we've spent a lot of the first two hours talking
about John Morant a little on the Celtics Alreadie would

(01:21:06):
take Jason Tatum to build his franchise around over Joel
Embiid and Jimmy Butler and in fact, what Jimmy Butler
is not even on that list for you.

Speaker 1 (01:21:15):
I'm not a big Jimmy but Look.

Speaker 2 (01:21:17):
I like Jimmy Butler as a player, but I don't
think he's top ten or anything like that.

Speaker 3 (01:21:21):
Which is funny because that's exactly where you had Giannis
a couple of years ago, and now you want him
in New York like nobody's business.

Speaker 2 (01:21:28):
We didn't get to Manty Williams either.

Speaker 3 (01:21:30):
Well, Let's get to it here, because I've been taught
here on Fox Sports Radio from the Book of Malor
that the best stories are always in the loser's locker room.

Speaker 1 (01:21:39):
So let's rewind a little bit.

Speaker 3 (01:21:42):
Phoenix gets eliminated embarrassing fashion and the way they played
in Game six, and Manti Williams is a fall guy,
fair or unfair in Phoenix.

Speaker 2 (01:21:52):
Unfair, but I could see why they did it, new
owner taking charge, disupporting not only lose the way they did,
but they were blown out in that decisive game. It
is disturbing, though, that you see so many coaches that
have won Coach of the Year or a championship and
they're gone two to three years later, Nick Nurse, coach

(01:22:13):
Bud over there Milwaukee. I mean, there's somebody else I'm
missing also besides Monty Williams. So it's just such a
tough job to do. But I'm sure he's gonna land
on his feet and get another position. But I can
see why the Sons are doing it.

Speaker 3 (01:22:29):
To be honest, Well, I mean, you realize how deep
this Coach of the Year thing and then getting fired
soon thereafter goes. I mean, here here's your h since
Steve Kerr won the award in fifteen, and after the
fifteen and sixteen season, there's Mike D'Antonio for the Lake

(01:22:51):
for the Rockets fired, Dwayne Casey for the Raptors fired,
Mike Bunholzer fired, Nick Nurse fired. Oh look, there's Fibideau.
Tom Fibodeaux won it in twenty one and then Manny
Williams fired. So five the last seven Coaches of the
Year have been fired within two years.

Speaker 2 (01:23:09):
How does that even make sense that your coach of
the year or you're winning a championship and two years
later you're we don't even want to see your blasted
face in our facility, So get.

Speaker 1 (01:23:19):
The hell out.

Speaker 2 (01:23:19):
I don't know, I don't know how it gets to
that situation, and it's certainly unfair a lot of the time.
So you better get a good contract to get a
good buyout.

Speaker 1 (01:23:29):
When it's all said and done.

Speaker 3 (01:23:31):
A Boonholzer has won it with two different teams. Tibbideo
has won it with two different teams. It's just Mike
Brown has now won it with two different teams.

Speaker 2 (01:23:39):
I mean, it's just did you see what Jalen Rose
had to say about it?

Speaker 3 (01:23:43):
I don't take anything that Jalen Rose says seriously anymore.

Speaker 1 (01:23:47):
So go ahead.

Speaker 2 (01:23:48):
Well, he was, you know, insinuating who he thinks is
going to be the new coach of Phoenix, and he
threw out the name of one Steve, Oh, Steve Kerr.
I'm saying that, you know, perhaps that he would leave
Golden State. If Myers doesn't come back as a general manager,
maybe it's time to move on. Obviously, he's got a
you know, a tie in the Phoenix. He was general

(01:24:09):
manager there at one point.

Speaker 1 (01:24:11):
So can they fire him?

Speaker 2 (01:24:14):
I don't know if they fired him or he walked
away or it was mutual, to be honest with you,
I don't know how that whole thing really played out
or what happened in that, but they quickly shut that down.
Like Steve and Ay said, Kerr won't go anywhere as
long as Steph Curry's play.

Speaker 1 (01:24:28):
And I don't know if that's true.

Speaker 3 (01:24:29):
Though, Well again, I mean Jalen Rose said it, so
it's got to be true. I mean, the weather is
why the Knicks weren't able to win in Miami. Yes,
but I think Phoenix is the best job right now.

Speaker 1 (01:24:44):
Milwaukee.

Speaker 3 (01:24:45):
Phoenix won one a you get Giannis in one place
to rant the other. But man, I hate that for
many Williams. I thought he did a hell of a
job on you. I get it new ownership, but I
thought he did a great job.

Speaker 2 (01:24:54):
What did you think about the rumor on who's going
to be up there? Is it Milwaukee that had it
for Mark Jackson? Was that the Yeah?

Speaker 3 (01:25:02):
That was the rumor today? Mark Jackson and Milwaukee and
JJ Reddick. Who are they talking to with him? Like
kel toronto, oltronto?

Speaker 1 (01:25:09):
That's right? Like, what are we doing right now? What
are we even doing?

Speaker 2 (01:25:12):
Well?

Speaker 1 (01:25:13):
That Mark sense? To you?

Speaker 2 (01:25:14):
Mark Jackson hasn't coached what like nine years, so I'm
not so sure that that'd be my first go to guy,
and it's that I have to get him in here
for an interview right away. So I'm not sure that's
the way I'm looking at it.

Speaker 3 (01:25:27):
You know, I'm I'm on your side on something you
always complain about how these TV shows don't use you
more and how you should be on all these TV shows.

Speaker 1 (01:25:35):
I've come to realize it.

Speaker 3 (01:25:36):
You want to be a head coach, and you know
the best way to become a head coach isn't the
grind and go through the G League and to maybe
coach a high school or a college. You just go
on TV and they're like, dang, that guy, he looks smart.
He needs to be our head coach. There you go,
you get the job.

Speaker 1 (01:25:50):
How many guys in.

Speaker 2 (01:25:51):
TV have not gone gone on to be like a
general manager or a coach in sports? I mean, you're
you guys are the Raiders, right, I mean there's Gruden?
Yeah yeah, And what's his face? Oh that was the
GM that came from team mayok? Yeah, mayok.

Speaker 1 (01:26:08):
So I mean that happens. It happens more than you think.

Speaker 3 (01:26:11):
So the other question, then, after the firing of Many Williams,
is what happens to Doc Rivers.

Speaker 1 (01:26:17):
Here was the question post post game today.

Speaker 2 (01:26:20):
Are you planning to be the coach of the team
next year?

Speaker 1 (01:26:22):
Yeah? Yeah, I got it. I think I got two
years left.

Speaker 3 (01:26:25):
So given the tenor of what you've seen happen in
the last two or three days, where coaches of the year,
guys with titles.

Speaker 2 (01:26:32):
Yeah, no one's safe in our business, you know, And
I get that.

Speaker 1 (01:26:36):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:26:36):
And and there's there's big investments. Coaches get paid a
lot of money. They're I don't want to say required,
but they're asked to be able to manage high profile,
high priced offenses.

Speaker 1 (01:26:48):
And what am I saying high.

Speaker 3 (01:26:49):
Priced players and big payrolls, But I mean, I mean
the history now Doc rivers are and he has been
consistent underachieving. I know that nat answer usually is well,
what do you who are you gonna get it's any better?

Speaker 1 (01:27:04):
Are you gonna get to any better? Actually?

Speaker 2 (01:27:05):
Three coaches out there, Well, you mentioned a couple of
coaches out there that one Coaches of the Year that
would love to go and have a job like that.
So there's some out there. There's no doubt. I you know,
Doc does have two years on a contract. I think
he does come back. I'm not saying I'm cold harder,
but I think if they were going to fire him
the way they lost, and you know how they got

(01:27:26):
down by so many, if it was a knee jerk reaction,
wouldn't they ever fired him like a couple of after
the game Or Am I wrong on that?

Speaker 1 (01:27:33):
You know?

Speaker 2 (01:27:34):
No?

Speaker 3 (01:27:34):
Maybe so maybe so maybe they sit down and it's
it's a Nick Nurse type situation where you get a
few days away from it and you're like, yeah, we
got to move on.

Speaker 1 (01:27:43):
I mean, Bolt Boonholzer was.

Speaker 3 (01:27:44):
Pretty quick, right, Yeah, Nick Irris, it took a while,
but here was here's the other quote that's that's catching
a lot of people's attention. And you tell me if
Joel embiid is right or wrong here.

Speaker 11 (01:27:58):
You can't win alone. I can't win alone. I can't
Me and James we just can't win alone. You know,
that's why basketball is played five or five. So you know,
we just need that bout to just you know, trying
to keep finding ways he got better and uh, you
know we'll be fine.

Speaker 3 (01:28:14):
So a lot of people have really cut out one
part of that where he's like me and James can't
win alone. But you have a problem with what joelnbi said.

Speaker 1 (01:28:25):
I don't have a problem. But let's be honest.

Speaker 2 (01:28:29):
He has to take a lot of the brunt of
this and a lot of the responsibility.

Speaker 1 (01:28:32):
Why le Bron and Anthony Davis do it.

Speaker 2 (01:28:34):
They don't even go ahead and play a lot of
the games during the regular season. So no, you know what,
you have two good guys, you have some good people
around you. You're getting eliminated in the second round. You've
been in an embarrassment, you're the MVP I think you
should be doing better with with the people that you
have right now.

Speaker 3 (01:28:53):
I agree too, And Joel emb did go a little
bit you honest here, honest?

Speaker 11 (01:28:58):
Well me, I just look at it. You know, there's
a good step. Like someone said, it was not a failure.
You know, STEP's success.

Speaker 1 (01:29:08):
It's not a feel stop.

Speaker 2 (01:29:09):
But yeah, stop, it is a failure. That you're not
a failure, Joelle and beiing, Okay, we're not saying you're
a failure individually, Yiannis. We're not saying you're a failure individually.
But your team there goals this year, they're both failures
absolutely one.

Speaker 3 (01:29:26):
Isn't it fair to start to wonder what needs to
change for the Sixers since they re entered relevance after
you know, Team Tank, they've.

Speaker 1 (01:29:38):
They've been chronic disappointments.

Speaker 2 (01:29:40):
Stop trusting the process? How about that?

Speaker 1 (01:29:42):
Well, I think we're well beyond that all. Yeah, exactly.

Speaker 3 (01:29:45):
But I just again, I'm not saying you you tear
everyone always I tear it down, start all over them
like they got like ridiculous contracts. Right now, I don't
think they get to start shedding it like crazy. But
I mean they should be better, right, I mean this
is a team that should be infinitely better than coming
up short. And by the way, let me pause there

(01:30:05):
for a moment, Arnie, no problem with them losing this
to Boston. Boston probably the better team, but to get
beat like they did in the second half of that game,
the third quarter of that game, that's where it's concerning, right, Hey,
you pushed them to seven, they were higher seed than you,
But to have a third quarter like that, I mean,
it was horrible.

Speaker 2 (01:30:25):
And look what was really at stake, not just Game
seven today, but had they won their they would have
usually gotten by Miami and found themselves in the finals also,
So I mean that was not only to go ahead
and get by this series, but a chance to go
to the NBA Finals and a chance to win the championship.
So much was on the line year and they just
were horrible every which way in the second half.

Speaker 3 (01:30:46):
By the way, this is Arnie's a disdain for all
things that are one Jimmy Butler. So that's why anyone
who won here today is a slam dunk.

Speaker 4 (01:30:54):
Right.

Speaker 2 (01:30:54):
I'll tell you what you could have, Miami. I'll take
Boston and we can bet on the series.

Speaker 1 (01:30:59):
You mean, just like we did with the Knicks.

Speaker 3 (01:31:01):
Wow, I'm just saying, don't allow your bitterness to creep
into your analysis.

Speaker 1 (01:31:07):
Jimmy Butler's a hell of a maskoto.

Speaker 2 (01:31:09):
I said this last night and I'll say it again.
I'll quit my job if Miami beats Boston in a
seven game series.

Speaker 1 (01:31:15):
You should have quit your job one thousand.

Speaker 2 (01:31:18):
No, you keep saying that I've never been wrong. I'll
quit my job.

Speaker 1 (01:31:20):
Bet No, I'm sick, you're fire. Get out, Bernie.

Speaker 3 (01:31:24):
Arnie, you bet you were going to quit your job
on Princeton beating Arizona in March.

Speaker 1 (01:31:31):
That was two months ago. Yeah, that one hurt.

Speaker 3 (01:31:33):
That one hurt, right, So stop betting your job on this.
It never goes well for you.

Speaker 1 (01:31:38):
Yeah. Hey, we haven't really spent too much time before.

Speaker 3 (01:31:41):
We put a wrap on the opening segment of the
Final Hour, and of course Arnie's picks are coming up.
We've got all kinds of takes from the schedule released
this week and games that stand out. But I mean again,
I go back to what we said last week.

Speaker 1 (01:31:56):
You don't want to fall down three to one in
a series. You can talk.

Speaker 3 (01:32:00):
It's not must win, Steve Kerr, And it's not must
win time. But putting yourself down three to one really
puts you at a significant disadvantage and it sucks.

Speaker 1 (01:32:09):
So you want to be literal coach.

Speaker 3 (01:32:11):
That's fine, but the Lakers took control of that series
when Lonnie Walker went crazy, and then the Lakers were
just clearly the better team in Game six.

Speaker 1 (01:32:19):
But what do you making now moving forward? Well, thanks
for Sammy Kurr.

Speaker 2 (01:32:23):
Now he'll never call into the show, So I want
to go ahead and put that on you.

Speaker 1 (01:32:27):
Try to say you're a better basketball player than Steve Kerr.
Oh yeah, but that's besides the I'm more humiliating to him.

Speaker 2 (01:32:35):
Come on already, I don't know what to do with
Golden State. There's a lot of moving parts here. First
of all, what are you gonna do with Quake Thompson
when you're left out of contract? And then he wants
to super max excuse me, a Max steal. When it's
all said and done, he's not worth the max deal.
Matter of fact, these last three games the first time
in his career that he has scored ten points or
less in three games in a row. I can't give

(01:32:57):
him that type of money. And plus up Bobby in
the the Lakers depending on how much TA could offer him.
I don't think I'm gonna go ahead and keep him
one more year. I'm gonna go ahead and trade him too.
I know everybody loves Draymond Green. I'm not so sure
I want to go ahead and max out of contract
for somebody like Draymond Green. Also, I want to see
what I want to hear what people would offer me

(01:33:19):
for him before, Yeah, before I make that deal.

Speaker 1 (01:33:24):
So let me be clear.

Speaker 3 (01:33:25):
You're ready to move on from both Clay and Draymond
or Steph, and you have.

Speaker 2 (01:33:30):
To move on from Clay. You have no choice. Are
you gonna give him? You gonna tell me you're gonna
give him the max contract after after the next year.

Speaker 3 (01:33:38):
Well, I'm not gonna sit here and just bury him
based on a Game six performance. He's been a pretty
key piece. And you don't think people would want to
bring in Clay Thompson. No, not for that type of money.
You know, I don't think you. I think that's way
over paying for him. I don't think there'd be a
lot of teams in the market for something like that.
We we overpay everybody, Arnie. Let's kind of what we

(01:34:00):
do in the NBA. Now, I found this fascinating and
I don't know how big of a.

Speaker 1 (01:34:04):
Deal it is. It's a little bit long.

Speaker 3 (01:34:06):
But whenever, whenever Woad today started talking about the future
of Bob Myers, who I didn't realize was going to
become like this next guy that we're going to talk
about on the TV side of things, right right, nor
did I think.

Speaker 1 (01:34:21):
But here I'm going to play a little bit of this.

Speaker 3 (01:34:22):
This is what WOJ had to say about the future
of Bob Myers and Golden State.

Speaker 12 (01:34:27):
With his contract expiring at the end of June. Bob
Myers told me last night that he plans to take
a couple of weeks to make a decision about his
future running the Golden State Warriors.

Speaker 1 (01:34:39):
And it's a decision that he said he has torn about.

Speaker 12 (01:34:42):
I think in large part because of his relationships, he said,
with the core three of Steph Curry, Draymond Green and
Klay Thompson and his coach, Steve Kerr. Four championships under
Bob Myers and an organization where he just carries a
tremendous amount of respect. You heard all the key players

(01:35:03):
their coach talk about how badly they want Bob Myers back.
He's not there yet on a decision. He has built
a Hall of fame resume in Golden State, and I
think very much the future of this organization. You know,
a lot of it revolves around his ability to kind
of shepherd them through the next phase of it. But

(01:35:24):
right now, Bob Myers is uncertain whether he'll do another
contract with the Warriors.

Speaker 1 (01:35:28):
So it's funny because I didn't understand that though.

Speaker 2 (01:35:31):
He said because of his relationship with Steph and Draymond.

Speaker 3 (01:35:34):
Yeah, he wants to stay around because he wants to
be around them. Well, you're trying to trade everyone. You're
trying to trade everyone.

Speaker 2 (01:35:41):
Is he saying that they're not going to be around
next year? Is that the point?

Speaker 3 (01:35:44):
I mean, maybe maybe that's what it is. Maybe he's
also a guy who's forty eight right.

Speaker 1 (01:35:51):
Now and he's under fifty.

Speaker 3 (01:35:53):
Yeah, he realizes there might be more out there for him.
I don't know if you could do a better job
than he's done with Golden State. But it's pretty impressive,
right to win that many titles in such a short
amount of time. But I don't know, man, maybe he's
looking for some think that he's ready for TV and
he wants to be in one of the studio shows.
Others think he's ready for another challenge, but that would

(01:36:15):
be a fascinating opening because we're a year remove from
hearing out brilliant all these moves Bob Myer's.

Speaker 1 (01:36:22):
Made were right.

Speaker 3 (01:36:22):
Oh look, he still got those draft picks during the year.
It's incredible what he's been able to do. And now,
literally less than a year later, it's all he might
have to move on and he doesn't really feel like
overly confident about what his next step is gonna be.
I mean, what are we even doing are We're not
even a year remove from his team winning a title.

Speaker 2 (01:36:40):
I thought he was gonna leave because he knows that
they're not gonna win a championship. Yeah, and they're gonna
have to break up the Big Three. That was my
thinking all this time on why he wouldn't come back,
not because he wants to retire or he's burnt out
or anything to that effect. He just sees the riding
on the wall.

Speaker 1 (01:36:58):
That's why.

Speaker 3 (01:36:58):
Isn't it though, isn't g deep down inside don't they
always want to try to rebuild? Isn't there always a
part of him that's like, Okay, well, I can see
Clay's aging, and you know Draymond's wanted to do podcasts
and be a radio stars, so let him go do
his thing. Let me see I can rebuild or did
they already do that when they ended up with a
lottery pick? And why he's many kind of how that

(01:37:18):
all panned out? Did he'd already get to kind of
live that experience.

Speaker 2 (01:37:22):
All they always done? I mean, look what they did
to Chicago.

Speaker 1 (01:37:24):
They love that.

Speaker 2 (01:37:25):
If you want to rebuild with Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen,
you know what I mean. Yeah, GM's I think love
that type of stuff out there. You know. The only
question is, well, what are you gonna do about these contracts?
And by the way, wasn't it just about six months
ago people were raving over Jordan Poole. I mean he
was like the next best things in sliced bread. Now

(01:37:48):
you're just gonna want to give him away?

Speaker 1 (01:37:49):
Right? Is that? Is that what I'm hearing?

Speaker 3 (01:37:52):
I mean, he didn't look pretty terrible against the Lakers
in that series, So I guess he sucks now, right.

Speaker 1 (01:37:58):
Because he is what we do, Yes, exactly, this is
what we do.

Speaker 3 (01:38:00):
I mean, already listen to you look how you're talking
about Jimmy Butler when he just rolled your nicks.

Speaker 1 (01:38:06):
You're like, Oh, he's average. I mean, that's just that's
the mindset.

Speaker 3 (01:38:10):
He's gonna take the brunt of this responsibility for losing
to the Lakers, and that's it.

Speaker 1 (01:38:14):
It's gonna be Jordan Poole's fault. All right.

Speaker 3 (01:38:16):
Hey, when we come back on Fox Sports Radio, there
is one major story we haven't talked about. We're two
hours and thirteen minutes into the show tonight and we
haven't talked about one.

Speaker 1 (01:38:27):
Of the biggest stories this week in sports. We'll do
it next as we're brought to you in part by Discover.

Speaker 3 (01:38:32):

all right, it's already in playing on Fox Sports Radio.
Let's hit some of your tweets at Stinking Genius one.
I'm at playing show. Everybody should follow us at Fox

(01:38:52):
Sports Radio. The villain writes, Guys, whose job is it
to resign the GM? It's the owner so it's not
Bob's decision to get a contract, it's Joe Lacup's job
to even offer one. No report on either. Also, don't
forget Draymond is a clutch sports guy.

Speaker 1 (01:39:12):
So is Moses Moody. They want him back though, right,
So that's what I'm gauging. Yeah, right, I.

Speaker 2 (01:39:18):
Thought he was off for the contract that he hasn't
decided whether he wanted it. So I must have misunderstood
that because I figured they want him back no matter what.

Speaker 3 (01:39:26):
There's a lot of stuff on jaw here. Yeah already,
you're right. We don't know what they told jaw. Maybe
they said waving guns on social media is actually fine
as long as it's not loaded.

Speaker 1 (01:39:41):
Do you think that's what they said.

Speaker 2 (01:39:42):
No, I didn't think that's what they said. But we
do have to look at something that's legally and you know,
just done what the team wants. So, you know, before
they could just let somebody, if it was that easy
to let somebody go, could you imagine how many contracts
they'd be able to get rid of just based on
somebody's attitude, dude, especially if they weren't having a good
year or living up to that contract to be crazy

(01:40:06):
they do.

Speaker 3 (01:40:07):
They cut them all the time. Arnie, Come on, man,
have you been following sports?

Speaker 2 (01:40:10):
But the contracts are guaranteed though in the NBA, yeah,
they don't say, hey, guess what now, We're not going
to give you the money because you wave the gun
or something like that.

Speaker 1 (01:40:19):
But they might maybe there's a clause in there.

Speaker 3 (01:40:21):
Maybe there's a personal clause, maybe there's an attitude clause,
maybe there's I get it that it's guaranteed contracts, but
they can still put clauses in there that can cost
you your money if you do something stupid, right, even
if it's legal.

Speaker 2 (01:40:35):
I'd like to see them try to get away with
that one.

Speaker 1 (01:40:37):
I'm curious.

Speaker 3 (01:40:38):
I think they're going to have you been following this,
especially if we're talking about the NBA of all things,
where like this was a problem so much in the
two thousands that David Stern implemented, you know, a dress
code and other things and had and talked with Carmelo
Anthony and says, I know who you're hanging out with
this kind of behavior.

Speaker 5 (01:40:58):
I think the NBA knows it's really destructive.

Speaker 2 (01:41:00):
You know that just code doesn't exist anymore, though, does it.

Speaker 1 (01:41:03):
You don't see that anymore though. No, But it's I
just I don't know.

Speaker 3 (01:41:07):
I'm kind of surprised that your takeaway from this is well,
it's fine, it might have been a fake gun, and
it's this.

Speaker 2 (01:41:14):
I didn't say it's fine. I still think he's acting
like a knucklehead. And like I said, you know, he
goest down on how many millions have we figured that
out yet? On the contract? Forty fifty whatever it is,
that'd be enough to wake me up sober. That's for
damn sure, Chris, whether it's legal or not, that'd be
enough to wake me up. But obviously didn't wake him
up at all.

Speaker 3 (01:41:34):
But I just I feel like you're continuing to go
back to this point when we've all said, hey, you
can still get fired for doing something that's legal, even
if it's you want to stand on drinking, No.

Speaker 1 (01:41:47):
Drinking is legal.

Speaker 2 (01:41:48):
Yeah, you know, we can't drink before we go on
the air. We can't drink if you're pilot or you know,
in a car or anything like that. So I understand
that if they just said, you know what, we're not
giving you a dime. Uh, you broke your contract.

Speaker 1 (01:42:03):
You don't take that.

Speaker 2 (01:42:03):
Sub Attorney's gonna say, well, we'll see you in court.

Speaker 1 (01:42:06):
We'll see how this point. I'm sure they will. But
it happens all the time.

Speaker 3 (01:42:09):
I mean, it happens all the time in WCW scan Right,
Adam Silver is too spineless to slap John Morant with
a ban and violation of his contract.

Speaker 1 (01:42:20):
Moran, John Moran won't learn anything.

Speaker 3 (01:42:23):
Until he gets slapped with very serious consequences for his
reckless behavior.

Speaker 2 (01:42:26):
So what are you gonna do if you're Memphis dead
next year? Are you gonna just trade him? Do you
want him gone? Do you are you gonna try to
say you're gone and we're not gonna give you any money.

Speaker 1 (01:42:34):
What do you think they're gonna try to do? Well?
I mean, he's gonna get another chance because he's that good.

Speaker 3 (01:42:39):
I mean's that great line I use a lot whenever
people would talk about Jimmy Johnson, how he cut the
guy that fell asleep in the meeting, and they're like, hey,
what would you do if it was Troy Ak When
he's like, I got to walk up and tell him to
wake up?

Speaker 11 (01:42:50):
Right?

Speaker 3 (01:42:50):
So, I mean it just it's he's a great player,
he's so he's a cornerstone piece. But there's going to
be a point where Memphis is gonna have a really
tough decision to make if this continues.

Speaker 1 (01:43:00):
And then one more quick one from a head news.

Speaker 3 (01:43:02):
Not sure that what Joe's doing that is illegal or
wrong except offending the delicate sensibilities of the mainstream corporate media.
Well ahead news, your news service needs a little work.
That's kind of how you feel about it.

Speaker 2 (01:43:17):
No, but what happens if we have a video of
somebody I'm not saying his team or another sports guy
showing a video of him handling guns hunting because they
hunt for food. Is that's okay?

Speaker 11 (01:43:31):
Then?

Speaker 1 (01:43:31):
Right? Is that? Yes?

Speaker 5 (01:43:32):
Because there's context there, there's the context that he is
hunting with that gun.

Speaker 4 (01:43:37):
Right.

Speaker 2 (01:43:37):
But wait wait wait but in the video but in
the video, does it look like he's hunting.

Speaker 5 (01:43:42):
No, but in someone who has relatives who hunt, nobody
waves a handgun around.

Speaker 2 (01:43:47):
No.

Speaker 1 (01:43:49):
No, now you.

Speaker 2 (01:43:50):
Said that because I said, in the video, let's say
he's hunting, but he's taking a shotgun or something and
he's throwing it a well, he's not well, but you know,
talk about what is Come on, you know it's a
handgun not used for hunting, and he's twirling it around.

Speaker 1 (01:44:05):
I don't know why.

Speaker 3 (01:44:06):
You keep you brought this up like three times, and
I feel like we're resetting a segment from last hour
on this Why why do you keep going back to, well,
what if he's hunting?

Speaker 1 (01:44:14):
He's not, he's sitting in the car on an ig video.

Speaker 2 (01:44:18):
But no, no, no, I guess you're missing my point.
It's well, we're not missing your point. No, it's not
whether John Morand is hunting. Is if somebody else is hunting,
is that okay? If his teammate is a hunter and
he's using guns, is that okay?

Speaker 1 (01:44:31):
Yes, proper way to.

Speaker 2 (01:44:32):
Use guns, but you can't use it in a video,
then yes, yeah, okay, Well thank you for clearing that up.

Speaker 1 (01:44:38):
Then, mister producer, Chris is.

Speaker 3 (01:44:41):
Why do you always demean people with that? Well you
don't act like you know anyone's name or anything like
that on this show.

Speaker 1 (01:44:50):
God, but I don't. I don't. Again, there's a clear
situation here. This is someone who has been warned.

Speaker 2 (01:44:57):
Here's what they told stop a New Texter time. I
remember this theme says Plank, You're so right. Their behavior
clauses in contracts, Steak and Genius as being the typical
idiot he is.

Speaker 1 (01:45:08):
So I just wanted to go ahead and get that
one in there, so I wasn't gonna read it. You
don't have to do that, all right.

Speaker 3 (01:45:15):
When we come back, we're gonna dive into the NFL
schedule release. It's the biggest story in sports. And we
haven't even talked about it much tonight. A couple of
things here or there. But when we come back, we'll
do that first though. Steve Sagres in the house. What's
going on, Steve?

Speaker 9 (01:45:31):
I remember when one Baseball All Star had a list
of things in his contract he could not do.

Speaker 1 (01:45:36):
One of them was no spilunking underwater baby.

Speaker 9 (01:45:40):
He was not allowed to go cave explorations contract yep, Well,
is is Philadelphia going to be exploring options at coach now?

Speaker 5 (01:45:52):
They've just gagged?

Speaker 9 (01:45:53):
At Game seven today, it was tied at Boston early
third quarter. Celtics win one, twelve eighty eight that ends
the second round of the NBA Playoffs. Jason Tatum had
fifty one points, a new Game seven record. Jalen Brown
twenty five points. Celtics hosts Miami Wednesday in Game one
of the East Finals. This is Jason Tatum, who last
game started one of fifteen shooting for the floor, still

(01:46:15):
won game six and now one game seven. So another
Doc Rivers team blows a lead in a playoff series
to lose, and Doc Rivers in his career has lost
a game seven ten times. In fact, he's lost five
straight game sevens over the last eight years. There's a
list out of Doc Rivers team's blowing playoff series leads

(01:46:35):
of three games to two or even three to one.
Twice with the Clippers, he blew three games to one
leads to lose series. With Orlando twenty years ago, blew
a three games to one lead to lose a series,
blew a three games to two lead this weekend for Philly,
and when he was a Celtics coach about a decade ago.
Doc Rivers teams three different years blew three games to
two leads to lose series, including very famously to the

(01:46:58):
Lakers in the final in twenty ten, a Lakers team
they had already beaten for the title a couple of
years before, and they lost Game seven in LA in
twenty ten, even though Boston was up thirteen in the
second half and Kobe Bryant was delaying knee surgery just
to be able to play and didn't have his legs
and couldn't shoot, and still the Lakers came back and

(01:47:19):
won that game. So if you're looking at NBA history,
I how fans of Lakers and Celtics are each franchise
because of that night. Each franchise has seventeen titles all time.
Is Boston gonna make the finals? Are the Lakers going
to make the finals this year? We know the Celtics
hosts the East Final Game one against Miami Wednesday. Lakers
on Tuesday will be at top seed in the West,

(01:47:41):
Denver to open the West Finals. Each series will have
a game every other night. NBA Draft lottery is Tuesday
before things open. Stanley Cup Playoffs. Vegas, a one seed,
advanced to another West Final a five to two win
at Edmonton tonight, taking this second round series in six.
This is four times in their six years as a franchise.
Vegas is at this point of the postseason. There is

(01:48:04):
a second round game seven tomorrow night, Seattle at Dallas.
The NHL's Eastern Conference Final will start later this week
with Carolina against Florida. William Byron won NASCAR's four hundred
at Darlington, his third victory this season. NASCAR's annual All
Star Race is next Sunday night on FS one. The
PGA Championship starts Thursday in Rochester, New York. Jason Day

(01:48:24):
took the Byron Nelson in Texas today after a final
round sixty two. He won by one stroke. Day earned
about one point seven million dollars with this win. The
two guys that tied for second place earned nearly nine
hundred thousand dollars less a difference of one stroke total
over four.

Speaker 1 (01:48:42):
Days of golf.

Speaker 9 (01:48:44):
Dustin Johnson won the Live Golf event in a playoff
in Tulsa. Of course, every winner and Live Golf gets
four million dollars.

Speaker 1 (01:48:51):
Even Phil Mickelson.

Speaker 9 (01:48:52):
This weekend, he tied for forty sixth place out of
forty seven golfers and earns one hundred and twenty five
thousand dollars for only three days of golf on that tour.
In the USFL on Fox TV, Memphis defeated New Orleans,
which was four and oh. Fox will have games on
Saturday and Sunday again next weekend. Philadelphia today went eight
for eight on field goals in a twenty four to

(01:49:13):
twenty one victory against New Jersey. The kicker Luis Aguilars
also the team's punter, but he made field goals from
fifty six from fifty one yards and in the game
winner from fifty five.

Speaker 1 (01:49:24):
Oh jeez.

Speaker 9 (01:49:24):
Tonight's Sunday night ballgame went to Saint Louis nine one
at Boston, Nolan Aernado homer for the third straight game
there the wind The Miles michae List Dodgers won their
fifth straight, shutting out the Padres for nothing. Five straight
losses for the Padres. Colorado beat Philadelphia and Aaron Nola
for nothing. Phillies record just twenty and twenty. It was
Philly's end Padres in the National League Final last year.

(01:49:48):
Now Philly was five and oh this past week until today,
and Bryce Harper and a Colorado pitcher were kicked out.
Texas won again eleven three at Oakland. The A's are
nine and thirty three on defense today for a on
offense thirteen strikeouts. It's only May Arizona with a win.
Washington split a doubleheader with the Mets. Pittsburgh a winner
four nothing at Baltimore Mitch Keller five and one. Tampa

(01:50:11):
Bay wins again eight to seven. At the Yankees. Rays
record thirty one and eleven Toronto six five over the Braves,
who've lost four straight. Two runs bottom of the ninth
did the trick Blue Jays at home twelve and three.
So far, Minnesota's going to be at Dodger Stadium today.
Minnesota scored seven runs in the third inning against the
Cubs and seven more in the eighth inning, sixteen to

(01:50:33):
three the final, and the Twins yesterday beat him eleven
to one, hitting five homers in that game. Detroit and
Miami with wins Milwaukee and Houston as well, and Cleveland
beat the Angels for to three in this game. Guys,
the two starting pitchers were high school teammates in southern California.

Speaker 1 (01:50:50):
That's cool.

Speaker 9 (01:50:51):
Mission Vah High School, the high school that used to
have Mark Sanchez as its quarterback, and before that, Jordan
Palmer and Julie Foudy from US soccer played there years ago. Anyway,
Tanner Bibby was the Cleveland Guardian starter. He was a
high school sophomore when Patrick sanderbal now with the Angels
was a senior there. And yes, they did win the
title in twenty fifteen CIF when those two were on

(01:51:12):
the club. They each pitched well, and then Cleveland breaks
a one to one time bottom of the eighth by
by Josh Naylor. He hits a three run homer. A
guy who's batting about two ten. He's hit three go
ahead homers in the last three days, all of them
in the eighth inn backdeed.

Speaker 1 (01:51:28):
Thanks Steve, have a great week, buddy, Steve.

Speaker 3 (01:51:31):
All right, it's already in Plank as we head down
the home stretch here on Fox Sports Radio, Arnie's Picks
coming up, the progressive play of the day.

Speaker 1 (01:51:39):
You got people mad at you.

Speaker 3 (01:51:40):
I projecting, Well, let's not get bogged down in this
job conversation anymore. We've got six months to do that
before the NBA seas well. That's that, before the NBA
season gets back. I want to get bogged down on
your projection that you've got the Jets going one in
five to start this season. But I was a little
bit disappointed that you didn't counter that with where you
had your Dolphins through their first few weeks of the seasons,

(01:52:03):
because this is not an easy schedule. At the Chargers,
at the Patriots home for I guess now an upstart
Denver team, and at Buffalo to start the year.

Speaker 1 (01:52:12):
It's not easy.

Speaker 2 (01:52:13):
No, it's not easy, but I did, and I just
pulled it up in front of me. I know, they
have a time where they spent like a month in Miami,
right they don't leave the state or something like that,
so they have that favorable, am I right about that?

Speaker 3 (01:52:25):
October twenty ninth to November nineteenth, they've got three straight
games at home plus the bye week, and then you
go a little bit later in the season. They've got
what back to back to back games December eleventh through
the twenty fourth, where they played Tennessee, New York the
Jets that is, and Dallas back to back to back
at home.

Speaker 2 (01:52:45):
Now, I know they're supposed to have one of the
more difficult schedules, right, like one of the top three
hardest schedules in the NFL.

Speaker 3 (01:52:51):
Schedule difficulty to me is always hard to gauge right now,
right because last year everyone would tell you your schedule
so hard if you had Denver and they sucked.

Speaker 2 (01:53:00):
Yeah, but that's just one team though. You know, how
much of a difference does it make if it's just
one team that you're off by and you're hitting on
the other ones, You know what I'm saying, so well.

Speaker 3 (01:53:09):
I don't necessarily I see what you're saying. Yes, they
have the third most difficult skill.

Speaker 2 (01:53:15):
It could be the third hardest, it could be the
third easiest by the time the season's done.

Speaker 3 (01:53:19):
Right, So as it stands right now, depending on what
matrix that you use or metric you use, Sharp Football
Analysis has the Dolphins with the fifth hardest schedule in
twenty twenty three.

Speaker 2 (01:53:29):
Right, doesn't that go by what the records were last year?

Speaker 1 (01:53:32):
Or no? Am I wrong on that?

Speaker 3 (01:53:34):
I think they try to dig a little bit deeper
like records and then additions that you've had. Because the
team with the hardest schedule is the New England Patriots, well.

Speaker 1 (01:53:44):
That should be.

Speaker 2 (01:53:45):
They pretty much play the same schedule as the Dolphins, except.

Speaker 3 (01:53:48):
You know they've alternated few home and visits right right, right,
Because in fact, if you look at this, three of
the top five are from the AFCs Patriots, one Bills,
two Chiefs, three Raiders for Dolphins five.

Speaker 1 (01:54:00):
According to Sharp Football Analysis.

Speaker 2 (01:54:02):
That makes sense mathematically, at least it does if you're
in the same division and one team's hard and there
is going to be a lot of travel out there,
so we'll see what happens. That's the one thing that
does bother me. But at least it is favorable where
they do get spend the long stretch at home.

Speaker 1 (01:54:15):
That's going to be important for him. I think the
Bills schedule is fascinating. Man.

Speaker 3 (01:54:20):
They could start the season on fire, right if the
Jets are overrated, like you think, right, they go to
New York the Jets to open it up. Then they
get the Raiders at home, who are terrible. Then you
go to Washington, who is terrible. Then you get Miami,
Jacksonville and New York. I mean, they could be five
and one, crow maybe six to zero heading into that game, and.

Speaker 2 (01:54:41):
Then bab way, when do you make it the opening game?
Kansas City and Detroit A lot of people and I
was one of them. I'm not so sure that that's
really the best matchup and why they look not that
I don't like the Lions. I just thought there was
other matchups you could have put up there that would
have been more enjoyable and got sure.

Speaker 3 (01:54:56):
Yeah, I mean, listen, Kansas City's home schedule is awesome
this year. I mean, there's they've got a great home schedule.
They got in any of the AFC West games would
be intriguing, right, they play Buffalo, they play Cincinnati.

Speaker 1 (01:55:10):
You didn't even play in Philadelphia. You didn't have to.

Speaker 2 (01:55:12):
Put Kansas City though, right, even though they wanted, it's
not written in stone that you got to put the
super Bowl winner in there.

Speaker 3 (01:55:18):
Well, we've only not put the super Bowl winner in
the opener recently once and that was when they played
the Bears and the Packers.

Speaker 1 (01:55:26):
And what was that, the one hundredth anniversaries.

Speaker 5 (01:55:28):
Yeah, that was for an anniversary.

Speaker 3 (01:55:30):
Right, So I mean usually nine point nine, nine nine
out of ten times it's a defending Super Bowl chance.
But I love I love it, Arnie. I love seeing
Detroit in prime time. I think it's gonna be cool. Sure,
you could have put the Chiefs and the Bills, the
Chiefs the Eagles, the Chiefs and the Bengals, and it
might have been a more high profile matchup, but I
like it. I'll tell you. Schedule blew me away, and

(01:55:52):
I know we're running out of time. But the Baltimore Ravens,
man they got they opened up with like Houston, and
then after that you're going on to Cincy. In week two,
you're going to Cleveland, a Week two four. Three of
your first five games are on the road, and then
you wrap things up down the stretch with road games
at San Francisco, Jacksonville home from Miami, and Pittsburgh Bad.

Speaker 1 (01:56:13):
Yeah, yeah, I know.

Speaker 2 (01:56:14):
We have to break what happened to where I thought
the last two games were divisional games.

Speaker 1 (01:56:17):
I don't think they did that this year, right, I
think they're mixing it up a little bit. They're mixing
it up. All right.

Speaker 3 (01:56:21):
We'll put a wrap with Arney's picks and play the
Day next on Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 1 (01:56:25):
All right, it's Arnie and Plank.

Speaker 3 (01:56:26):
We are heading out the door on Fox Sports Radio.
But fear not sports fans because the late night guru,
one Big Ben Mallor, is coming up next year on
Fox Sports Radio. So, uh, real quick, before we get
to Arnie's picks, you ready.

Speaker 1 (01:56:45):
For the play of the Day. I'm ready, all right.

Speaker 3 (01:56:48):
Play the Day as always is brought to you by
Progressive Insurance, And all we need to do is take
you to Boston where Jason Tatum was the man.

Speaker 4 (01:56:57):
Tatum right corner against that bait hay To for fifty case.

Speaker 1 (01:57:04):
He showed it. He showed you fifty.

Speaker 3 (01:57:07):
He showed you he showed you fifty Arnie fifty fifty
five zero plus from adjacent Tatum tonight. So now in
his career he has a fifty point game in the
regular season, the play in Tournament, the All Star Game,
a playoff game, and now Game seven Jason Tatum.

Speaker 1 (01:57:27):
Impressive.

Speaker 3 (01:57:28):
That is our Progressive play of to Day, brought to
you by Progressive Insurance. Progressive makes bundling easy and affordable.

let's go give me a little music, put me in
the mood because we got some NBA to go ahead
and give you some predictions on it's gonna be Boston

(01:57:50):
in Miami.

Speaker 2 (01:57:52):
You know where I stand on this. Miami has a
zero percent chance of going to the NBA Finals. It's
just not gonna happen. Look, give give you a lot
of credit for what you've been able to do it,
but you are an eight seed, you do have injuries.

Speaker 1 (01:58:06):
It is just not going to happen.

Speaker 2 (01:58:08):
Boston beats Miami four games to one, and I think
I'm being kind by giving you one game, so I'll
go four games to one. Boston goes to the finals.
Lakers and Denver. Now, this is gonna be a great matchup.
If this goes seven, it's gonna be tough for the
Lakers to be able to win it on the road.
That's why I have the Lakers winning it in six, Mike,

(01:58:29):
Lakers have looked absolutely fantastic. They've been on fire, and
Lebron he's done everything they've needed him to do. Plus
him and by the way, your boy Reeves you talk
about an unsung hero.

Speaker 1 (01:58:44):
I love that guy. I love him.

Speaker 2 (01:58:47):
And that means it's gonna be in the finals between
the Lakers and the Celtics, and you know who's gonna
win that one, don't you plank?

Speaker 3 (01:58:55):
Well, I would like for the Lakers too, but I'm
sure you're picking Boston.

Speaker 2 (01:58:58):
My Lakers are games to three, and we'll have a
game number seven in the NBA Finals that the Lakers
will take it. Don't win it four games to three.
Very disappointed that Steve O that Steve Kerr didn't call
into the show today. Obviously the producers didn't answer the.

Speaker 1 (01:59:17):
Phones, right, they didn't answer and just.

Speaker 2 (01:59:19):
Two hundred and seventy two days until my Miami Dolphins
win the Super Bowl. So there you have my picks.
Do with them as you please, no longer strictly for
entertainment purposes.

Speaker 3 (01:59:29):
Only if the botsman came in yes and said, Arnie,
I heard you bet your job on the Heat not
making the finals. I would like to put a piece
of paper in front of you, a contract that says
you will quit your job officially if the Heat make
the finals. I said, not only.

Speaker 2 (01:59:50):
When I sign it. I dip it in bload and sign.

Speaker 3 (01:59:52):
It's so lying right now, that's for radio.

Speaker 1 (01:59:59):
I dip it in blood and sign it with that.
How about that.

Speaker 3 (02:00:03):
I don't think we need to really go that far,
but I'll do it. Your confidence is there, all right? Aarny,
have a great week, man, It'll be a big week.
Next week will be a couple of games into the
Eastern and Western Conference finals, and who knows.

Speaker 1 (02:00:17):
I mean, we're due for like some crazy trade in
the NFL. Right.

Speaker 3 (02:00:20):
Plus we continue with Major League Baseball, and we continue
with Big Ben Mallard coming up next. Aarny, have a
great week for christ Prahat Brandon for Steve to say
You're Arnie on Plank, stick around, all kinds of fun
going on with Big Ben Next on Fox Sports Radio
