to dads today because Father's Day tomorrow, and don't forget
your father. All right, We're gonna do a whole thing.
(01:11):
I will say this just at the start of the show,
and then I have to rip Rob Manfred and it's
a wake up call to all those policymakers in professional sports.
But first, listen I'm a Father's Day tomorrow, and there's
(01:32):
something about it, right, I'm a dad. I have two
boys thirteen ten. My Anthony's thirteen by Massimo is ten.
And it's the greatest thing in the world. The greatest
thing in the world. It's it's I hope that you
guys get to experience it. It's the greatest gift that
(01:57):
there is to have children. And uh, you know, it's
they're acomplete blessing. I'm still going to buddy of mine.
It's funny. And he and a guy actually we we
just got to know each other and he said, oh, yeah,
my wife's pregnant. We were talking about that and he said,
my wife's pregnant, and I went, wow, congratulations, And I'm
(02:19):
going on and on right a few sive it's the
greatest thing in the world. And he's like, oh man,
I'm so glad you said that, because the first thing
people say to me is I'm not going to sleep
that y'all, well you're done sleeping. And they were just
negative about it. And there is nothing negative. It's the greatest.
And if you like sports, like see, wee can convene
(02:40):
here because we love sports. I fell in love I
never thought like, I never I was never one that
was thinking that, oh yeah, I have to have a
family that just you know kind of life happens, you know,
And the youth sports thing has been the greased I
(03:00):
love it. We have. I've talked about this before, but
my little one plays travel baseball. They both played football,
and like, we have a tournament coming up today and
uh so we have a ten year he plays ten
year baseball. So he's got a tournament today. Last year
(03:20):
during uh it was it was actually Father's Day. It
was amazing, right, and my moss hits a walk off,
three run homer on Father's Day. If I told you
I was over the moon, man, I was like freaking out,
(03:41):
uh in tears. I mean, you can only imagine. It's
one of the greatest things ever. And then he and
you get that and he came running into my you know,
they win, they celebrated it afterwards, he came running over
to me. It was it was like a storybook moment.
But that's that's with tomorrow symbolizes. So just want you guys,
(04:03):
because we go overboard and we should for Mother's Day.
So just want to make sure that we celebrate dads
out there and being a dad and we're gonna have
some fun. I do a five five question. So I
have a Father's Day five that I want to give
you guys, but earlier this week. And I need to
(04:24):
get to this because it's gonna be part of the
theme today. No Figgy Figgi's off today, So I got
my man Biggie and Mighty Mark. We'll be hanging with
me today. I'm going to talk to the guys and
in just a moment, but if you saw what happened
this past week where the Oakland the fans of the
(04:46):
Oakland A's have a you know, a reverse boycott right
where they all go to the game and wear shirts.
They congregate and the parking lot, the tailgate whole and
they're go inside, and it was like this moment of hey, look,
(05:06):
major League Baseball, you're killing us. You allowed us to
be ripped off from our team. That the Oakland A's
are gonna move to Vegas. Now what baseball is doing.
It's one of the most heinous, heinous things, all right,
(05:31):
but you know, I mean that's what it is. Right.
They want to generate all the revenue. They look at Vegas,
and Vegas is the new hot spot for sports franchises.
Let me just do that. And you know what, it's
(05:53):
shame shame shameful, It's shameful. It's just terrible with Major
League Baseball stelling to the people in Oakland that they've
already had to deal with the loss of the Raiders
to Vegas and now here comes the A's about to leave,
and they just they did it in such a horrible way,
(06:15):
and they've been a horrible franchise. They've just been a
terrible franchise. The fact that they made a movie glorifying
how cheap they were. They didn't win anything, and they
make Moneyball and it's like, look at us, We're known
for being cheap, but not winning at all, but just
(06:38):
winning something like making the playoffs. That's horrendous. It's absolutely sickening.
And Rod Manford, who was one of the most arrogant,
egotistical commissioners, and quite frankly, I don't even think he's bright.
He's lucked out that there's been changes the game, that
(07:00):
it worked, and it almost bothers me that he's going
to get credit for it, because that guy has been
a bastion of just arrogance and misguided moves and all
he is is another piece of lint in the owner's pockets.
(07:23):
That's all that guy is. And so reporter asked him
about what took place in Oakland, and this is what
he had to say.
Speaker 3 (07:33):
I feel sorry for the fans in Oakland. I do
not like this outcome. I understand why they feel the
way they do. I think that the real question is
what is it that Oakland was prepared to do. There
is no Oakland offer, okay, I mean they never got
to the point where they had a plan to build
(07:55):
a stadium at any site. And it's not just John Fisher.
You don't build a stadium based on the club activity along.
The community has to provide support, and you know, at
some point you come to the realization it's just not
going to happen.
Speaker 1 (08:12):
He came into this world and the son of the coach,
playoffs the leaguer's day, YOEI yeah, right, I don't know
what that third one was, Mighty Mark.
Speaker 2 (08:30):
Might well listen. It was completely disingenuous. We were two
for two, and well you were really like kind of
two for two. Because there were other remarks that he
made which which were way words, which were way words.
Speaker 4 (08:49):
Where I think that was that third one where.
Speaker 2 (08:51):
He asked they were asked the hey did you see
the reverse boycott? And he's like, I was at dinner
with the owners and he says it so dismissively when
he talks about it, and then he tried to kind
of clean it up. And that's what you heard earlier
where he gives you and he was disingenuous about it.
Speaker 1 (09:13):
I think we got it for you. Hold on, that's
my bad. I just had my coffee. Sorry, everybody, here
we go.
Speaker 3 (09:18):
I mean it was great. It's great to see what
is this year? You know, almost an average Major League
Baseball crowd in the facility for one night. That's a
great thing.
Speaker 2 (09:31):
Yeah, yeah, do hear the dripping sarcasm? Oh wow, hey,
for one night they almost got up, almost got up
to the average attendance across Major League Baseball, almost got up,
Like dude, are you crazy? And then later on he
(09:52):
hits you with, well, you know, they just they don't
need to support the team goes beyond ownership and all
this is. And listen, you know they saw Vegas. They
want to be part of the Vegas thing. Right. The
Knights started in, the Raiders come in and now it's
you know, they can't wait to get to the fake
(10:16):
greener pastors in Vegas, right like, you know, And it
just bothers me that there is a franchise like Oakland,
like you want to talk about great sports fans, those
people up there, and it's just a shame that they're
getting their franchise taken away because ownership right doesn't want to.
(10:38):
They need public funds to go build it. And they look,
they've let it just become decrepit so they can just move.
And that's the truth of the matter. The truth of
the matter is they've completely forsaken that fan base and
Major League Baseball greased the wheels. That's just the truth
(10:59):
of them at it. But they've always had weak commissioners,
commissioners that are just in the owner's pocket. And I
say this, and I start to show with this only
because this we lose, We lose our objective and you know,
(11:20):
these franchise we lose our way. And these franchises are
public trusts, man, they really are. You know, you have
your owners and God bless them right now, like they
make it possible, But in reality, the Denver Nuggets are
a public trust. You have a parade and you have
(11:45):
people celebrating, you have joy, and you have all that
stuff that comes with winning and comes with the surrounds
of franchise. That's public trust, the city name is. You're
as certain that's what it is. It matters. I always
told you know, if you listen to the show, one
(12:07):
of the themes that we always talk about is sports
building churches. And when I see this sort of thing,
and I see and hear a commissioner who was supposed
to be the steward of the sport completely dismiss the
fans and do it in an arrogant manner, haughty matter,
(12:31):
it just pisses me off. To be frank with you,
I hate that brab Manfred If I told you, I
think that guy is just a horrible human just and
every time he speaks he sounds worse and worse and worse.
(12:52):
It's a shame. I love MLB. I watch it, I
consume it. I can tell you players on every team,
I can tell you the whole thing. I love it.
And it's always been a sport that the owners have polluted,
and it's a shame. They polluted it with the steroid
era and they tried to backtrack, and then they allowed
(13:13):
it to get hijacked by the analytics and kill the game.
I mean, it's it's it's right to cut on telling
you that my kid plays travel ball. It's a beautiful sport,
and yet all it does is get continued to get
hijacked one after another. But the bigger lesson is is
(13:34):
that it's about the fan. It's about the city. We
did it we did last couple of weeks ago when
we were doing the show, and we did a whole
thing about worthy fan bases that have suffered and all
that stuff. That's that shows you how much they care.
Do we care about our teams and those people run sport,
(13:59):
all those executives. You know, you got to wake up
and I know I understand that it's lucrative and your
TV contracts never end, and that's happened till it finally ends,
until you start paying attention to the people that make
it all matter. So we'll discuss that part of a
(14:19):
theme a little bit different today. We're gonna take a
look at the at the betting standpoint earlier today because
the big Brain's going to join us. So he's got
some winners for you today and we'll go over some
futures and take a look at the world from a
betting standpoint. Big Brain in Seattle, so he's staying up
late for me in the crossover from evening to morning
(14:43):
where I am on the East Coast, and then a
little bit later on in the Big Brain spot, we're
gonna get into a fantasy football kind of primer. Come on, man,
it's middle of Jude. The only thing I can think
about is fan see football, really football, lots to do
to get started. I'll cause Anthony Gargan and we got
(15:06):
our man, the big a little bigg he Mighty Mark.
Well you say, Mighty.
Speaker 5 (15:12):
Mark, greeting sir, Happy football future day.
Speaker 1 (15:16):
Can you believe I just threw the I already told
Mark I was sorry for just throwing throwing that on
him like that.
Speaker 2 (15:22):
Yeah, it was that. I don't know why he did that.
Speaker 1 (15:25):
That was nuts.
Speaker 5 (15:26):
Yeah, that was not mourning me. He's still mourning me.
Speaker 1 (15:29):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (15:31):
Yeah, you're lucky. Money Marx good people.
Speaker 4 (15:34):
Yeah, money, Mark's good people.
Speaker 2 (15:36):
You're lucky.
Speaker 3 (15:37):
You know that.
Speaker 1 (15:38):
I know I am. I don't got that.
Speaker 2 (15:40):
He's got lots to do.
Speaker 4 (15:42):
Throw me out the window.
Speaker 2 (15:45):
Where the fellas just getting started on a Fox Sports Saturday,
on a Fox Sports Saturday, right here, all right, Yes,
let's take a look at the at the world of
sports from a betting standpoint, as we come to you
(16:06):
live from the ti raq dot com studios. I got
my man, the big Brain, Brad Feinberg with us every week.
Usually hear him a little bit later on the program
in the last hour, but today he's out in Seattle
and it's late. You haven't been to bed, Bradley, Good
morning or whatever.
Speaker 6 (16:27):
Good evening, Yeah, good, good morning, seem my friend Anthony,
I have a in Seattle and I'm going to be
on a cruise later today, going to Alaska. I'm really excited.
Speaker 2 (16:37):
About that, dude. That's gonna be awesome. No, no, I've
traveled extensively, but not never been to that part of
the world. I heard it's just absolutely gorgeous.
Speaker 6 (16:49):
That's what I've heard. So I'll definitely give a report
next week, but I'm looking quite forward to it.
Speaker 2 (16:54):
Ah, too, that's going to be fabulous. That's going to
be so cool, man. I'm so excited. I can't wait
to seal your pictures and everything else. And it's a
perfect time of the year for you to kind of
get away, take a little bit of a break before
we reconvene with football around the corner. So let me
(17:14):
ask you a big brain. First, I'm sure you've taken
a look at the baseball card for today. Anything that
stands out here, then we're going to get into the NBA.
Speaker 6 (17:25):
Well, I am I love? This is good or bad
to say I've won my last sixteen props and games combined.
So I love that's good or I'm due to have
a bad day.
Speaker 2 (17:36):
No, I don't say it. Don't say it.
Speaker 6 (17:38):
No, No, but I've been been To say I've been
hot is an understatement.
Speaker 1 (17:44):
Look, there's a.
Speaker 6 (17:45):
Lot of stuff I'd like for tomorrow or tonight. You
should say today, I'll bring them to Anthony. Give you
some props for one hundred Green over six and a
half strikeouts love. First of all, I think we talked
about the Reds last week in the show, fifty to
one to win the division, down the four to one.
Now talk about a pretty impressive run by them, going
from fifty to one to four to one and only
(18:05):
about a week up at hundred Green over six math
strikeout Fanthony seven and one is last eight games doing that,
I just think this guy's right now, right now inning
fronting him and Strider, in my opinion, the two most
dominiq K guys in the league. Mitch Keller Pittsburgh over
six manth strikeout Fanfanty going against the Milwaukee team that
dance quite a bit.
Speaker 2 (18:26):
Yeah yeah.
Speaker 6 (18:29):
And Cower's eleven and three to that number going into
a team that strikes out a lot. I think that
sits up pretty well. Lucas Giolito. Anthony's and pitching well recently.
I like under two and a half earned runs allowed.
He's nine and five to that this year going against
a very pedestrian Seattle offense. I like Seattle started pitching.
Don't love their offense. I think, Gee Ledo holds them
(18:49):
to less than three runs, then I'm gonna double dip
in a couple of things here. Hopefully I don't get burned.
Blake Snell over five math strikeouts Anthony. He's eighty one
strikeouts and sixty nine innings. He's been on fire recently.
He has twenty four innings. It's only a lot of
two runs, and he's thirty three k's in that I
(19:10):
like over five mass strikeouts. Six and two is last
day I think he gets there against Tampa Bay. And
I like Blake Snow over sixteen and a half ounce. Again,
he's six and two, was last day doing that. They
always let him throw this hundred pitches. I just like
the Lake snells. It's me a streaky player. I'm gonna
ride the hot streak. And in that same game, Anthony,
I'm gonna take Zach Eflin, a former ex Philly I
(19:31):
know over sixteen and a half ounce. He's seven and
one his last eight basically the first couple of games
he was on the pitchcount, but he's seven ones as
they let him start to pitch, and I like them
over four and a half strikeouts. He's nine and three
to that this season, So I think that's the one, two, three, four, five,
six seven props.
Speaker 2 (19:48):
I bet uh.
Speaker 6 (19:49):
And then game wise, Anthony, well, look, inherently speaking, look,
I like Ethlyn Snell under eight and a half. I
know it just cave you have four different depths in that.
But I do think that game's going to go low.
I think both pictures are good.
Speaker 2 (20:02):
Well, I think that your strategy's right, which is like
you attack something right, Well, you're in this case, you're
attacking that the bats in that game you're going those
bats aren't beating me. So that's where you're putting together
for a gain script. So it makes a lot of sense.
Speaker 6 (20:19):
Yesterday, for example, I had one of my favorite you
know guy followed this guy a lot in the minor
leagues is Andrew Rabbit of the Reds. I had him
under five and a half hit cloud. I had him
over fifteen and a half ounds. I had him under
three and a half earned runs. I had the Reds
plus a dollar fifty five, and you know, I could
have gotten exploded in my face, but every one of
them won. Same thing here, I can explode in my face,
(20:41):
but I happened to like the pictures. Anthony Shane Bieber
minus won twenty five against Tommy Henry. Bieber's not the
same gun Anthony he was in the past, but three
point two on the ERA. He did have nine strikeouts
last game, which was encouraging. It's Houston. Henry has gotten
bombed his last couple of outings nine and these ten
runs loud is the area for the season close to five.
Bieburn is basically close to a Pickham. I think it's
(21:04):
a brief air over Tommy Hengry.
Speaker 2 (21:06):
Yeah, no, I think you're I think you spot all
with those I do like I do. I like him
a lot. I love your Hunter Green too, because he's
got some great stuff the Reds. You've been on the Reds.
That's your darling of a team. And I agree. I
love Cincinnati.
Speaker 6 (21:25):
I'm going to tell you I got another team. I
think I took them, and I got them at fifty.
And I also I've been packing and taking some Chicago clubs.
You can still get around nine, nine and a half
to one. Look in that division. I only it's many Pittsburgh.
I don't think it's me Saint Louis, and I think
it's going to come down to Cincinnati, Milwaukee, in Chicago,
and in Chicago, you know anthy two of their starters,
(21:48):
Steel and Throwman leave the National League in ra Okay,
the top two starters leaving.
Speaker 2 (21:53):
Yeah, I I don't see it, but I hear you getting.
Speaker 6 (21:58):
You're getting again yetting nine enough to one on they're
just getting Cody Bellen, who's having it in the midst
of a few years ago. But he's been great again
this year again note and a half to one on
odds in the division where I could see eighty two
games winning an eighty one game.
Speaker 2 (22:11):
No, I got you. It's smart, Yeah, it's smart. I
just don't like that division.
Speaker 6 (22:15):
I wouldn't like him.
Speaker 2 (22:16):
Yeah, I just don't like that team. I think the
pitching has been aided. They've had a lot of a
lot of crazy weather and a lot of pitching weather early,
so I think they've been aided by that. And then
you got always gonna be tricky and regularly when those wins,
because the wins could make an average pitcher look a
lot better when they they were very true.
Speaker 6 (22:35):
Again that any just against clarify that is a bit
really ninety against the division maybe ten percent.
Speaker 2 (22:41):
I guess, yeah, that makes a lot of that, and
that makes a lot of sense, It really does. Uh.
Since I one second, Kevin hits with some trending.
Speaker 7 (22:50):
Buddy John Moran suspended by the NBA for twenty five
games after he posted a video that showed him waving
what appear to be a gun. The suspension will come
with conditions for his return, the league said. During the suspension,
Moran will not be able to take part in any
league or team activities, and he will lose more than
seven and a half million dollars from his salary. Moran
(23:13):
previously suspended eight games back in March for a similar incident.
Michael Jordan reportedly selling the Charlotte Hornets to a group
led by Gabe Plotkin and Rick Schnall, but will reportedly
still retain a minority stake in the franchise. Big news
in college athletics, San Diego State has given the Mountain
West Conference written notice that the school intends to resign
(23:35):
from the league. There was an early report saying it
was the official, required one year notice. However, an updated
report said that it was actually not the official notice,
just the letter of intent to withdraw from the Mountain West.
In any instance, it's going to be thirty four million
dollars on July first, if San Diego State were to
wait to leave the Mountain West. In the letter, the
school did ask the conference for a one month extension
(23:58):
quote given unfortunate unforeseen delays involving other collegiate athletic conferences
beyond our control unquote. In golf, Ricky Fowler in the
lead at the US Open in Los Angeles. He's one
stroke ahead of Wyndham Clark and two ahead of ry
McElroy and Xander Chafell. US Soccer announced Greg Berhaltzer has
been reappointed as manager of the US men's national team
(24:20):
through the twenty twenty six World Cup. And some late
baseball scores from the West Coast. Giants come from behind
me at the Dodgers seven to five, Mariners edge the
White Sox three two, raised over the Padre six to two,
Phillies meet the Athletic six to one, and the Diamondbacks
take down the Guardians five to one.
Speaker 2 (24:36):
Back of you, I fellas Comy live from the Tyraq
dot com studio. My made the Big Brain. Anthony Goy
got on the Big Brain. Brad Feinberg, we're looking at
sports from a betting standpoint. You're Kevin talking about the Open.
Anybody you like Today's moving day at the US Open.
(25:00):
It's it's been a weird tournament because the players have
gotten exasperated with the level of with the with the
long wait and play. There's been clogs on the course, yeah,
and that's caused the long delays and some of the
players have been frustrated by the course. And Capkid talked
(25:21):
about it a little bit. Macelroy talk about it and
talked about a little bit Uh, anybody that you like
now is the tournament's kind of taking shape?
Speaker 1 (25:31):
Well?
Speaker 6 (25:31):
And they got to tell I mean, just as a again.
I always one of the reasons I always enjoyed the
US Open. It was, you know, I always like the
master's best. The US it was always my second favorite
tournament of the year, was because I always sort it
was the spit this test these golfer space each year.
And I remember discussing with you a few days ago.
I'm like, you know, look, you know this will be
the toughest test peace golfer space all urine. Geez, it
certainly hasn't been that way. Uh, too many birdies from
(25:54):
my case. Again, I see birdie fest every week on
the PGA Tour. I don't even see it in the
US Open. That's someone you know, maybe you want to
see it, you know. In the Phoenix Waste Management Open,
we see if someone shoot twenty five hundred, great. I
really don't like seeing guys shoot, you know, twenty under
in the US I.
Speaker 2 (26:09):
Agree, can do it for me. Yeah, I like the core.
I love when they're faced with these vicious courts courses,
with these wicked greens that are you know too. Yeah,
and we haven't seen that.
Speaker 6 (26:22):
They only do it once a year, and they didn't
even and then this year it's not there. Listen what
am I saying to me? It's so hard to pick
a winner, and I know that's what the people like
to do. But again, I prefer the top five, top tens.
But I'm Tonia producer. I think the most likely winner
of the tournament. If you said, who do I think
is the most likely winner this prone who wins it
the most? I'd probably say Tory McElroy. He has the pedigree.
Speaker 2 (26:43):
He's playing locked in right now. He didn't even play
especially well yesterday, but he's locked in.
Speaker 6 (26:49):
But he's locked in. But I would say, if you
if I had to just throw a chip on two
guys just for and again, it would just be a pizza.
Bet let me say that right now. I think still
think the best player on the wall is Scotty Scheffler.
Speaker 8 (26:59):
I think he is.
Speaker 6 (27:00):
There's there's a guy I think that does have like
sixty threes in them just naturally because of how great
he is. You can get seven to one on him. Still,
I prefer that over the three to one on Rory. Yes,
you're giving up three strokes. I get it. But I
think Scheffler's the kind of guy that can really get
it rolling. And then the other guy throughout champion again
he had a weird round today or yesterday was Dustin Johnson.
(27:21):
You know, he obviously has the pedigree, is one a
few majors.
Speaker 2 (27:23):
He got that.
Speaker 6 (27:24):
He shot an eight on one hole and he's got
four over after the second hole, and then he ended up,
you know, burning like four holes down the stretch and
he's six under. There's a guy, he's a calm player
to me, who certainly has it in him to play well.
He's getting sixteen to one. Do I expect him to
win it? No, But Dustin Johnson does have a pedigree.
He is the kind of guy that can play well,
(27:44):
certainly in two rounds. Sixteen to one him and Scheffler
seven one. With my two favorites, but again most likely
one in my opinion. I'll say Rory Schoffley to me
just always seems to not quite get it done.
Speaker 2 (27:55):
Yeah, Schoffley is a guy that I go, I just
don't trust him.
Speaker 6 (27:59):
Yeah, teas he's a teeth And Rickey Fowler has been
a great story. Everyone likes Rickey Fower. He's obviously really
improved this play this year. It's just Mike instincts tell
me that the reason Ricky flowers the truggling. He's has
a harder time piecing together four great rounds in a row.
Speaker 9 (28:17):
He's given me two.
Speaker 6 (28:18):
Let's if you can do it again. I'm gonna say
it doesn't, but it would be a nice story if
he does.
Speaker 2 (28:22):
Yeah with you, all right, let's go to NBA futures.
This is like and then people, it's funny. This is
where Brad does a lot of a lot of work,
a lot of business because when the finals, everybody incarnates
the files. You put it to bed. And this is
when Brad's already looking to next year and analyzing potential teams.
(28:47):
This is where he gets some great value. The Nuggets
are the favorite to repeat to four to one, Boston
six and a half to one, Milwaukee eight to one.
Doll Well, it's Phoenix nine to one, which I don't understand,
Golden State twelve to one, the Lakers six or fourteen
to one. I don't get that either. I don't get
(29:09):
the Clippers sixteen to one. There's a lot of teams
I'm looking at. Have you seen some value yet? Have
you leaked and pounced?
Speaker 6 (29:19):
I made one bet so far, Anthony. I know you're
going to wrestle with me, and I know we kind
of briefly discussed. He did not agree with me, but
I took memphsip forty to one. Now to me, the
John Morant suspension, I don't care about that, as long
as he wasn't suspended for eighty two games. Given this
twenty five games suspension, Tyus Jones the best backup point
pard in the NBA, There's no question about that. I
(29:40):
love their big three of being him and Jaron Jackson
again up getting forty to one, Anthony, that's the key.
Am I saying? Everyone listening out of here, I think
they're going to win the title. No, what I am
saying is, over the last two years in the Western Conference,
they the Memphis gris Leaves have won the most games
of anyone. They finished with the number two seed both years,
and again they were one game behind Denver this year.
In fact, there was a huge difference, and I think
(30:03):
losing Dylan Bricks will be additioned by subtraction. Look, they
need to mature. They've been in Miami heat, except the opposite.
They're the anti culture, but I do expect them to
be aggressive in the trade market if they can add
someone like an Ogo Nubi from Toronto, which I really
do expect this to be aggressive in the offseason. Athey,
this is me. We can between the lines ring what
(30:23):
their general manager said. I think they're going to be aggressive.
I think they're going to add another good player. Forty
to one odds again for a team that had this
most wins last two years in the Western Conference. I'll
fight and take a chance.
Speaker 2 (30:34):
Yeah, I listen, I get why you're doing it.
Speaker 6 (30:38):
Forty to one.
Speaker 2 (30:38):
Yeah, I get it. I don't think I hate that team.
And I tell you this, I hear You've been right
at only because they're just they're not mature enough to
win and the job thing just shows you. I mean,
Dylan Brooks, I mean, they're frustrated. They frustrate me. It's
(31:04):
less hate them as much as I liked them, but
they disappoint me because I just think they lack the
maturity to win and to go through twenty a half
months of playoff basketball. EI think you need maturity. I mean,
look look at Jokic. By the end of that run,
(31:25):
he was completely spent, like he's sitting there at the
podium and he finds out about the parade, and he's like, no,
I got to go home. Like I almost felt for
him because he's like, man, I just want to go home.
It's a long nine months, Like you got to be
mature to handle the nine months. And I just don't
(31:45):
think they have maturity.
Speaker 6 (31:47):
And that's listening. I think you're being extremely fair, and
I'm not disagreeing with you. Again, they're not the mature
the far right, and you're clearly right, and they can't
be arguments to take us to four. But what I'm
saying to you is I'm hoping it. If this isn't
a wake up call of John Morant, then obviously nothing is.
I mean that goes without saying. If he were to
screw up again and I say his career could be over,
(32:08):
I don't think that's even an overstatement. I really believe that.
So if he doesn't take this as a wake up call,
then you know I'm counting on that. And I really
do believe Anthony. And I watched a lot of Memphis
pass I'm much a lot of NBA, but Dyling Brooks,
to me again, the worst player to have in the NBA,
in my opinion, is when you have a player that
thinks he's a lot better than he is offensively because
(32:30):
he thinks he is the right to shoot the ball
eighteen times a game. And it's one thing if you're PJ.
Tucker and you can't shoot and you can't score it,
you're defensive player. But he knows his role and he's
shooting the ball three times a game.
Speaker 2 (32:41):
But when you're.
Speaker 6 (32:42):
Shooting the ball eighteen times a game, shooting it at
thirty eight percent, and you're not making any threes on
top of it, and you think, and you say in
comments that you think you're an elite offensive player and
you stink offensively, that's the problem. And to me, losing
Dayling Brooks, I think it's going to help the team
a significant amount.
Speaker 2 (33:01):
It's just my meaning, no, listen, and I think you're right.
You can't argue with the four to one real quick,
before we let you go the Miami twenty two to one,
you see any value there because you know they're going
to add I mean, I think Bradley Beal is going
to go there.
Speaker 6 (33:18):
It certainly mustn't that certainly could help the me in Miami.
I would say Miami in the Eastern heats at twenty
two to one airth probably the team that I think
has the most family Uni if you maybe pick a
second team, don't hate me for saying this, but just
because that they do keep Jalalen Brown. You know, if
they have Tatum Brown again, bring it back again they
have In fairness, they've gotten the conference finals with the
last five years or whatever it's been. He certainly can't
(33:41):
write up Boss Great.
Speaker 2 (33:42):
No, I think you're right. So I mean Phoenix nine
to one. I got to tell you I have interest
in them because I think they gave a vleet and
something like that. I think Phoenix once they they just
needed a bench. I think Kd's got one more great
year in them.
Speaker 6 (34:00):
Well, Anthony, if that team that's one player, they would
be my pick to win the title. The question is
can they do it. They're probably going to stretch wave,
Chris Paul, I'd love to see what strategy wise, what
they're gonna do. The overpaid eighton that's to me a
poor contract. I don't know if they can move it
or not. I'm not sure the tree rules even they're
allowed to. But you're right there. Top two is you
(34:20):
know it's not the best. They'reing top three if you're
being mean, If they could just add one more player something,
it's somehow been able to hold on to the kel
Bridges in that nets trade. I know they couldn't, but
they probably would be celebrating that title right now. Not Denver,
but I do. The question is, how will they add
that other player and they can get an anthony. I
agree with you one hundred percent. I think they would
(34:41):
be the favorite, but I just think that's going to
be a tougher task than maybe, you know, maybe they're
gonna be able to be able to pull it off.
Speaker 2 (34:49):
I hear you, buddy, listen, have a great trip to Alaska.
Speaker 6 (34:53):
I appreciate, buddy, Thank you, and good luck to go
out there.
Speaker 2 (34:58):
Hi, buddy, there he is the big brain Brad heading
to Alaska. Well, I've never been there. I got interest
in that where the fellas right here on Fox Sports.
I think Miami. I think that beal thing is a
very real, very real happening. That contract is onerous. I
(35:21):
mean it's it's it really is a huge contract and
Watching is finally looking to move it. It makes sense
if you're you know, watching, if you're Miami, that Beal,
you know, is it yet? I mean if he if
he plays now, a lot of teams look at Beal
(35:43):
and they go, well, those availability issues? Is he there?
Can you count on Bradley Beal? You know, that's the
one kind of one area that you kind of look
at it with these eyebrows a little bit. But if
you're Miami, I mean why not. If you're the Heat,
(36:08):
I think it makes perfect sense for you to kind
of go after it. I look, who knows Kyrie and
there's some there's some maneuverability, and you're Miami, and look
look how far you got because you're the To me,
they have the best coaches and the best culture in
the entire league. So I could see the deal thing
(36:32):
working out in a big way for the Heat next year.
That's that is one to keep an eye out on.
And again Phoenix. If Phoenix can figure out a way
to get one other player just to kind of tweak it.
I mean, that's that's the other team that they would
have given if they have a little bit of depth.
(36:57):
I think they give Dever some fits only because of
the obvious greatness. When you have Durant and what you
can do. Uh, biggie, what did you do for your
father this weekend?
Speaker 1 (37:10):
Well, I it's unfortunate. I'm so far away, but I
sent him a T shirt a card. Oh yeah, yeah,
I send him this shirt. It's actually kind of funny.
Speaker 5 (37:21):
It says.
Speaker 4 (37:23):
It's it's it's not a it's I'm a dad. It's
hold on. You know I got to find it for you.
Speaker 2 (37:29):
Hold on.
Speaker 4 (37:29):
It was really good.
Speaker 1 (37:30):
It's some quote, hold on, hold on, ask mighty Mark
about his life real quick.
Speaker 2 (37:35):
Come back to me, dude. It doesn't work that way.
You ready? Wait?
Speaker 1 (37:42):
God, oh god, I came in fine. I gotta go
on Amazon now.
Speaker 2 (37:45):
Mark, Mark, don't give him any more coffee.
Speaker 5 (37:50):
I'm trying not to. But he knows where the machine is.
Speaker 2 (37:53):
You know what I'm saying, block his way. Figgie's off today.
So we need my man over there to concentrate right
right and that and you and I both know that
that's his issue.
Speaker 5 (38:06):
It's very a bad issue this late at night and
concentration might not go together.
Speaker 2 (38:13):
Might not go together.
Speaker 4 (38:16):
Oh you know who said to me, my little sister,
That's who's saying to me.
Speaker 2 (38:21):
There, teacher.
Speaker 1 (38:23):
All right, it's not a dad, bod, it's a father figure.
I got him that shirt.
Speaker 2 (38:29):
Ah, that's.
Speaker 4 (38:31):
He's cracking up.
Speaker 1 (38:33):
He's my sister sent me a photo and he's just
laughing in the photo.
Speaker 2 (38:37):
It's not. But here's here's a bottom line. I'm proud
of you, said your father. The gift.
Speaker 1 (38:42):
I appreciate it. You know that's one thing you taught me.
Gifts are important, even if it's not very about the
principal thought. Yeah, the principal it is the thought. I'm
completely with you. We're gonna I would give you the
father five coming up, and that's five questions. There are
(39:05):
some fun including who's your favorite TV dad? All right,
so it's five kind of father type questions are coming up.
Speaker 2 (39:15):
Mess around with that. We got some NBA and NFL,
and look at where the fellas right here. Fox Sports Radio. Well,
good morning, good morning, good morning, good morning, good morning.
More happy uh Fox Sports Saturday. You know it is
(39:41):
uh middle of June, the seventeenth, summer upon US summer
twenty twenty three, and you know, I start to look
at this June seventeenth. That means we're just a couple
of months away. A little bit later on, we're gonna
(40:04):
talk to our man the geek. Now you may remember
the geek who is our fantasy football expert, and he's
gonna be joining us a couple hours later, last hour
of the show to give us some fantasy football draft
to primer. So if you because it's right around now,
(40:27):
right the Nuggets have hoisted the title, They've had their parade,
hockey in the NBA finally go to bed. You got
baseball and then soccer right to bed a little bit,
so you got this kind of downtime and it's the
perfect time where your mind begins to wander toward football.
(40:53):
So just any kind of excuse to discuss it, you
feel me, some excuge to discuss football, not just the
Philadelphia Eagles, football in totality. So I can't. I'm already
starting to be coming out of my skin. So we're
(41:17):
going to talk to the to our man, the geek
coming up in the in the last hour and talking
about some fantasy football stuff. It's Father's Day weekend, and
I got a fun little five question thing. So in
addition to all of our sports and all of our
sports conversation, we'll get back to Land Basing, the Commissioner
(41:39):
of Major League Baseball, and again one commissioner after the
other has been weaker and just a puppet and a
piece of lint in the owner's pocket. And uh, that's what.
Speaker 10 (41:56):
This.
Speaker 2 (41:57):
It's a shame, but that's what the bait. That's what
major League Baseball has become. Because you can't you force
baseball out of Oakland. You waive the relocation fee because
you just want that city out and you want to
be in Vegas. And I'm sad that the Oakland A's
(42:17):
a team with that kind of rich history and they
have seen that franchise wither because of a lack of ownership.
And then it's withered since those days of you know,
Reggie Jackson and all those great pitchers and Mark McGuire,
(42:38):
Jose Conseco, Bash Brothers and all that stuff. And they've
just seen that franchise just completely wither. And it's just sad,
it really is. But again it goes back to in sports,
this is all about each of these franchises are public trusts,
(42:59):
and you just can't snatch him because oh, there's more
fertile territory in Las Vegas. And I quite frankly I
hate the fact that Vegas won the Cup. I don't
like the new the new new franchise with the with
the fans of fifteen Minutes Old, they get a title.
(43:20):
That's that's not fair. Anyway, We're gonna give you the five.
I want to get to all things a little NBA
free agency as well. But here's your Father's Day five now,
e and mighty Mark. I won't even take notes for
your answers. You got me taking notes here, all right? Good?
(43:42):
First question, give me your favorite TV dad, like that
you could adopt him this person as your dad, your
favorite TV dad. Second quest, give me your best dad advice, right,
(44:05):
because think about the essence of fatherhood is what it's
to usher you a long life right along the road
of life. Fathers usher you, prepare you, and part of
that is the great advice. So give me your best
(44:26):
dad advice, whether it's yours, or whether it's your father's
or father figure or whatever wherever you heard it. Give
us your best advice. Give us your best dad and
sports moment and if you remember that, start to show.
I told you about my little Mansomo hitting a walk
(44:48):
off home run to last Father's Day as during one
of our tournaments to win it. And I was just like,
this is the great Father's Day gift ever. And then
finally your best your favorite movie that has a father
(45:09):
theme in it? All right, your favorite movie that's got
a you know, father theme in this thing like I
you know, not to be schlocky, but it doesn't get
better than Feel the Dreams. It just does it. It's
one of the greatest things ever, Feel the Dreams. All right,
(45:34):
let's start with the best TV Dad, and we're gonna
give you guys a chance to answer the questions eight
seven seven nine to nine on Fox eight seven seven,
nine to nine on Fox. And the other question is
your best idea for dad gift. That's why I asked
(45:58):
the Big e if he got his father something. So
you're if you're looking for last minute gift ideas for
dad or you're looking to hint hint, what's your best
gift idea? So that's your five questions. I'll start with
Mighty Mark, who would be your favorite TV Dad?
Speaker 5 (46:21):
I'm thinking when you first brought this up, but uh,
TV dad is a little hard for me because my
dad just happens to be the funniest dad in the world.
Speaker 2 (46:35):
Oh that's nice, you'd say it, and I'm just saying
the fun TV dad, you know uncle Phil. Yeah, like,
you know, here's a million of them. Walter White, you
want Walter White? Like Walter White is a TV dad,
you know.
Speaker 6 (46:52):
TV.
Speaker 2 (46:52):
Yeah, he had to, he had to make sure his
family is fed.
Speaker 8 (46:57):
I guess.
Speaker 5 (46:58):
Yeah, Well, if I'm going to be so about it,
Al Bundy is pretty funny.
Speaker 2 (47:03):
All right, here you go. You were to go with
Al Bundy as your favorite TV dad.
Speaker 5 (47:09):
Is it seemed to be funny and yet a little
bit disciplined in his strange way a TV dad. He
loved his wife and they always give a smart answer.
But that's he's pretty funny. H and he's hoe And
the TV show was in Chicago, So I'll go with that.
Speaker 2 (47:24):
I know I was going to say, I think that's
why you like it.
Speaker 5 (47:27):
It starts off with the Buckingham Fountain, so.
Speaker 2 (47:29):
You know, yeah, you still get Now how long you
been in la.
Speaker 5 (47:35):
Since eighty eight eighty nine?
Speaker 1 (47:37):
Oh man, I've been out a while.
Speaker 2 (47:40):
You still miss Chicago.
Speaker 5 (47:42):
I miss the rapid transit, the bus and the trains
that could take you everywhere, so you really don't need
a car, right, And then I miss all the trees
because a lot of palm trees, which I've gotten used to,
but just missing.
Speaker 2 (47:54):
Trees, the big you know, stately oak trees.
Speaker 4 (47:58):
I'm so upset.
Speaker 1 (47:58):
I'm missing all this I answer and calls and you're
finally getting mighty marked open up about uh you know
the days you know about that.
Speaker 4 (48:07):
I'm gonna have to listen. I'm gonna have to listen
back later.
Speaker 2 (48:10):
All right, let me ask you give me your favorite
TV dad.
Speaker 1 (48:17):
Okay, I also want to let you know that somebody
called in. He said, Charlie Sheen two and a half Men,
but he didn't want to come on for some reason.
Speaker 2 (48:23):
So that's pretty good.
Speaker 4 (48:24):
Yeah, that's a pretty good one.
Speaker 2 (48:26):
Bad.
Speaker 1 (48:26):
I got a rugg one for you. What my generation though?
You got to understand why I'm saying this. Bob Saggett
Full House? Oh yeah done, yeah, yeah, people watching man,
he was the man he was. He was a great
TV dad, hell of an actor. Yeah that's a yeah,
(48:47):
that's a great that's actually a great answer. Yeah, just
everybody grew up with him.
Speaker 11 (48:52):
You know.
Speaker 1 (48:53):
It's just like that type of like I'd come home
my sister be watching full House, you know that type
of show.
Speaker 2 (48:59):
Right, and you would and you'd watched you won't admit
that you would watch it, but watch right right exactly.
And that's the beauty of those sitcoms, is that because
most of them, you know, had some sort of family
aspect to them. So you know, that's why those TV
dads are great because that's what you know they're they're
(49:22):
always you know, there's always some sort of comedic element there.
So there you go. So you got I like it.
I like it. Let's do one more question of peace.
Give me your best dad advice, Mighty Mark.
Speaker 5 (49:43):
It was to be be on time and be a gentleman.
Just the part about being on time when you have
to be somewhere, you know, get up early and get there,
know where you're going and try to get to the
place you need to be be on time. It it
It builds your character. And when you show up on time,
people are very they won't say it out loud, but
(50:04):
they're happy that you show it up and you're responsible
for your responsibilities. You show it up on time. You
made the effort, be on time. Make the effort.
Speaker 2 (50:14):
Well, dude, that's that's great advice. It really is. It's
great advice because a nobody wants to be waiting. Keep
being kept waiting and b you're right, like people are appreciative, like,
oh wow, like you know he's here, he's here early,
Like that's that said something. It feels like you matter
a little bit. Very good advice. He woulds your your
(50:39):
dad's best advice.
Speaker 1 (50:40):
You ever heard his best I thought it was supposed
to be my best at or whatever. Yeah, I was
gonna saysh. I don't know if you want my advice,
but my his advice would be he always told me
just not to quit. Uh, you know, just keep pushing forward.
And life's not fair, so you know, in the nicest
(51:00):
way possible, you gotta work for what you get.
Speaker 2 (51:05):
That's funny he said, don't quit and and what life's
out there, So basically you're gonna get screwed, but don't quit. Yep,
it is what it is.
Speaker 1 (51:14):
You know, you just gotta keep pushing.
Speaker 2 (51:15):
Well, it's true. He's right about that.
Speaker 4 (51:18):
We're gonna cry, get some tissues, or we're gonna move on.
Speaker 2 (51:20):
Come on. I agree. I think your you're spot on,
very good. I like that a lot. Give me your
mighty mark best dad gift, Like, what's the best gift
that you could get your fob.
Speaker 5 (51:39):
This is a quick story. When I was a kid
and I felt a little pressure about trying to get
my dad a gift, and I didn't. I'm a kid.
I don't know what I wouldn't say a kid, I'm
in school, but I don't really have money. So the
quick thing I did was I bought a little set
of screwdrivers. And so that became a great joke between
(52:00):
me and my dad because I when it was a
Christmas and I gave him the gift, it was horribly wrapped,
and he laughed about it. So every year after that,
we just joke that I'm gonna buy him a set
of screwdrivers, a little tiny ani screwdrivers. I just laugh
about that. Every year. I bought him a little set
of screwdrivers.
Speaker 2 (52:21):
That's good. That's good. There's little things that the families
have with one another. It's the truth. Fellas broadcasting live
from the tyrack dot Com studio. Ty rack dot com
Going up. You get there on Matt Selection, fast free shipping,
free roadhas or protection, over ten thousand recommended installers. Ty
(52:41):
rack dot com The way tire buyings should be. All right,
E give me your best gift. Ide you already told it,
told us he got in the gift of the dad Bod,
that's for sure. That's because I'm I have no money.
Speaker 1 (52:54):
But if I had a good living, you know, I
would probably get him tickets to when he's like fully retired,
because he still works if the Grateful Debt is still around.
You know, they do these shows. He loves the Grateful Debt.
Speaker 2 (53:14):
So what I do.
Speaker 4 (53:16):
What I would do is like get.
Speaker 1 (53:19):
Him like seven different stadium tickets, like full access.
Speaker 2 (53:23):
Ah that's cool, man, that's good ticket. That's that's nice.
Speaker 1 (53:28):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (53:29):
All right, Well we're gonna do We got a couple
more questions for you guys. We'll give everybody else a
chance to take the five. Coming up, eight seven seven
ninety nine on Fox. Eight seven seven ninety nine on
Fox will continue the MLB stuffing how sacred franchises are.
We'll also discuss the NBA and the future of the
(53:51):
NBA because one of the issues that they're gonna have
to fix is the regular season and how do you
reconcile a meaningless regular season. We got to talk about
that a little bit because the future of the NBA
(54:12):
is at stake here. We got callers, all right, buddy, Well,
we're the fellas right hanging out right here on a
Father's Day weekend on Fox Sports Radio. All right, fellas
live from the tai Raq dot Com studios. So I
(54:36):
have a time to time since when it gets slow
in this sports where all I like to do the five,
So I picked five questions, same theme and uh we
have some fun. Who comes up the best answers. So
we're in the middle of the Father's Day five because
Father's Day tomorrow. And I'll give you the questions again
(54:58):
and you can chime in eight seven seven ninety nine
on Fox eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox. Question
one is your best ad advice? So my man Kay
on Twitter dm me a great advice. Listen to this
best advice. K Strali says, when you leave home to
(55:22):
set the world on fire, don't slam the door too hard.
You might want to come back for some matches. That's deep. Geeesh,
that's deep, heardddy, Deep is the Grand Canyon. No, you
want to In other words, look, you know, you know
(55:44):
you're in a hurry to you know, to go conquer
the world. But you know, make sure you got your
eye at home. You know when to come back. Hear
that like when you leave to conquer La. That's what

word father is in the title, and the fact that
the family piece of it makes the movie that much
more fascinating. And the word father is in the title.
(57:33):
Can you guess that?
Speaker 4 (57:35):
I think I could guess it.
Speaker 2 (57:37):
What do you got?
Speaker 4 (57:38):
Is it about my father? Sabastian Mansaco.
Speaker 2 (57:43):
No, man, it's a passion manic. What that's not even
a movie? Was comedy show.
Speaker 4 (57:49):
I'm gonna be honest. I'm gonna be honest.

Yes it is, look it up about my father. Sebastian

Carry Grant movie. It's called Houseboat and you have to
take his kids because of things that happened in his life.
Speaker 2 (59:45):
Actually remade it with Goldie Horn and Kurt Russell. Okay, yes,
that's a great movie. Now that over flowered is the
Kurt Russell. That's a different one, isn't it. It's well,
it's the same movie exactly.
Speaker 5 (01:00:02):
But anyway, the carry Grant went his houseboat where he
has to take his kids and live on a on
a house boat and Sophia la Wren as his housekeeper.
But he's a cool TV dad movie Dad anyway.

Speaker 16 (01:12:08):
A couple of them would be being in Dallas. I'm
an aggie, so anytime we got to go to the
Texas A and M and Longhorn game on Thanksgiving was special.
That was probably my first football memory that I had
with my parents. Yeah, and then growing up, my dad
(01:12:28):
was in the Lines club and they had an annual
chicken dinner and it would start we'd start cooking on
Friday night to serve to the people on Saturday during
the Texas OU football weekend. We'd always spend the whole
weekend fixing chickens and dishing them out, and.
Speaker 2 (01:12:49):
That was always the space and then watching football. Yeah,
that's awesome. I love it, man, that's very cool. Man,

It's the ultimate old school, right was he the He
would have been the first TV dad ever.
Speaker 8 (01:14:53):
Oh he was so clean.
Speaker 2 (01:14:56):
You know, I never saw the show. I mean, I'm
sure it was old reruns when I was very little,
and he was like that. He was that guy, right,
that always gave you the quintessential father type. Oh yeah,
we fitted the suit and tie coming home from work.
(01:15:17):
Yeah cool, that's good stuff. Give me your best dad
in uh? In sports moment?
Speaker 16 (01:15:24):
Uh, best sports moment would have to be sitting there
watching uh.
Speaker 11 (01:15:28):
David and sim Duncans.
Speaker 15 (01:15:32):
And the trophy together.
Speaker 2 (01:15:35):
Were Ah, that's awesome man. The admiral and David Robinson, man,
that was you know, what's amazing. I was thinking about
this to bring it up, but David Robinson was one
of the most underrated players in the history of the NBA.
He was that big who could do a million things
(01:15:57):
on the floor. He had touch, he could with the
ball on the on the on the floor. He was
a great.
Speaker 11 (01:16:03):
Ballplayer, absolutely, absolutely, and the figure throughout San Antonio.
Speaker 2 (01:16:09):
Yes, he was a good man, served the country. He
was and he's one of the most Like we don't
talk about him like we should. He was a great ballplayer. Man,
I'm glad. Yeah, no, man, good stuff. Brother, appreciate that.
Do you guys remember David Robinson? Oh yeah, the admiral.
Speaker 5 (01:16:34):
The admiral.
Speaker 2 (01:16:36):
Dude, we don't talk, you know. I'm glad he brought
him up because we don't talk about him. We should.
He should. He should get some more love David Robinson.
Look at I'm just wanting to look at his career numbers.
I like to do this from time to time. So
(01:16:57):
David Robinson career average twenty and ten. He played almost
one thousand games and he averages twenty and ten, I
mean twenty one points. I mean that's impressive. You look
at his career. He's had some he had some monsters,
(01:17:21):
amazing stuff. I'm just looking at it. I mean, one
year he averages thirty a game. Ninety three, ninety four,
he's averaging twenty nine point eight points. He averaged twenty
seven and a half twenty five and then he ushers
(01:17:42):
in Duncan and he's able to I mean, he's averaged
thirteen rebounds. He won year. He averaged four and a
half block shots a game, almost five blocks a game.
Are you kidding me, Yoe? Yeah, it was that's the Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:18:01):
Those are no joke numbers right there. Numbers talk too.
I agree he needs more respect, like more conversation.
Speaker 2 (01:18:08):
I haven't thought about him. I'm glad Robert brought him up.
Speaker 4 (01:18:13):
Yeah, because when you think of that team, you're not
thinking really him.
Speaker 2 (01:18:16):
You know, well you don't want them, and you kind
of don't. You're right because you always think about Duncan.
And Duncan was a great ballplayer. But of all the bigs,
if you go back to the bigs of that era,
he gets overshadowed. Shack, right, Elijah one Shack like all
those dudes, all those great bigs, and he gets he
(01:18:42):
gets overshadowed. And he was a guy that was a
really great athlete, Like he had a great touch and
again he could put the ball on the floor all
that stuff. He would be a STU stud today. He
actually would fit in today's game. Really well, hm, that's fun.
Speaker 1 (01:19:04):
Ye.
Speaker 4 (01:19:04):
Steve Kerr was on that team. Yeah, interesting, Ed's an
interesting roster.
Speaker 2 (01:19:10):
I'm looking at Bob Worri. Who else is on that team?
Speaker 1 (01:19:13):
Leak Rose, Brandon Williams, Avery Johnson, Avery Johnson.
Speaker 4 (01:19:20):
Daniels.
Speaker 2 (01:19:21):
Yeah, that's pretty cool. All right, we'll come back and
that's it's like eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox.

That's always been me. Well, yes, you're not going.
Speaker 2 (01:21:01):
Well, we're having a whole It's great because we're having
a family trip to Italy. My father is uh speaking
to my dad, we're he's taking us all to Italy.
We also have an Italian travel business, so my wife
that that my wife front. So we're doing this uh
Italy trip that we're excited, taking forty people to the
(01:21:25):
other side. We love it.
Speaker 4 (01:21:27):
What's on the agenda?
Speaker 1 (01:21:29):
Like, what's so.
Speaker 2 (01:21:30):
We're going to Rome and then we're going to uh
Naples and Sorrento, the Amalfi coast and then back across
to UH. There's a region in Pulia called Gargano it's
right on it's my last name, and it's right in
the water. It's right on the in the Adriatic, right
on the water.
Speaker 4 (01:21:51):
So what are you gonna You're gonna go in the water.
What are you gonna do at Gargano?
Speaker 2 (01:21:55):
Yeah, no, it's beautiful. It's like it's right, it's beach. Yes, yeah,
it's not. It's it's it's amazing. So we'll do the
whole Naples like we're gonna do for the all the
people that are coming on the trip. We're gonna be
doing a pizza tour, like a pizza crawl. Yeah, we're
(01:22:16):
gonna do all all the stuff that you expect, right,
We're gonna go to the the Vatican and all that.
We'll see Rome and then we'll do the Naples thing.
We're gonna do the you know, we'll do the colstume,
all the stuff that the tourist piece of it that
you really have to see, and then uh, and then
we'll imbibe with the culture. I'm a big culture fan, right,
(01:22:36):
so I like where whenever I travel, I like to
go with the people. I like to see what they do,
hang out with with what they're about. And that's the
that's the fun for me, right, So you imbibing their culture,
and that culture is very rich, right, It's got all
kinds of good stuff. And Naples just won the SIIA
(01:23:00):
and so they just won that league and they had
the huge parade, the whole thing. So I'm actually looking
forward to to kind of reporting on the back end
of that thing and what it meant well work. I'm
working on a buck about uh cities in rapture when
(01:23:22):
because sports, when you win a title and what it
means actually to the people of that city of that region,
pretty pretty cool. Yeah, I'm looking forward to. Yeah, no,
I mean it is a great place. It's a it's
a great you know, the reason why for all the
tourism and stuff. So I'm looking forward to. I thought the.
Speaker 4 (01:23:47):
The pizza crawl was pretty cool.
Speaker 2 (01:23:51):
Yeah, We're gonna do a pizza crawl.
Speaker 4 (01:23:53):
Yeah, I mean have to recommend that too.
Speaker 2 (01:23:56):
Yeah right, Well, Naples is the birthplace of pizza.
Speaker 1 (01:24:01):
So yeah, that's where we did talk about this, because
last week I told you I was going to roam
Florence and port A Fino.
Speaker 2 (01:24:08):
Yes we didn't. I didn't tell you about mine, but
we told you about your trip.
Speaker 1 (01:24:13):
Yeah, Okay, all right, Well, you know, I forget where
are you going. I'm going in August. I'm going with
the family. That's why I was picking your brain. I
was trying to figure out, you know, what to do
the history the pizza.
Speaker 2 (01:24:29):
Yeah, I'll get you. I'll listen, I'll get you. I
got you covered. Man.
Speaker 4 (01:24:32):
Yeah, forty people, that's crazy.
Speaker 1 (01:24:34):
That's fun.
Speaker 2 (01:24:35):
Yeah, No, we got a we start. My wife built
out the whole trip. It's it's a fun trip. It's
see if we were flying to into Rome, then we
go to then we go to Naples. So we do
all the stuff in Rome, and then we go to Naples,
and there's a museum in Naples where they had It's
beautiful and there's gonna be like an event. We'll have
(01:24:58):
a kind of a welcome event there at the at
the museum for like small bites and wine and everything. Wow.
Speaker 4 (01:25:07):
Where's that Naples? Yeah that sounds great.
Speaker 2 (01:25:10):
Yeah, it's cool. And then we're gonna do the Pizza
Crawl the.
Speaker 1 (01:25:13):
Next day, in which part in Naples too.
Speaker 2 (01:25:16):
Well, yeah, because that's the the birthplace of pizza, so
that we're gonna do the Pizaza Crawl there. The Rome
piece will be a little bit different. More of the
see it's such a you know, obviously majestic city that
we'll just see the sights. And then it's the Maufy coast,
which is, you know, just beautiful.
Speaker 1 (01:25:35):
Right.
Speaker 2 (01:25:36):
There's a dinner in a lemon and a lemon grove,
which is that's nice. Yeah, they have these gigantic you've
always heard of lemon cello and stuff to the lemons
that grow there there like the size of cantalopes. So
so there there, we're gonna be there, so it'd be fun.
Speaker 1 (01:25:56):
I'm excited for you.
Speaker 2 (01:25:58):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, Well you're gonna be going, so
it'll be great. And the whole family piece. So today,
if you're just joining us, a heavy Father's Day motif,
I give the Father's Day five. I have five questions
if you want to take it, you know, let us know.
You got us at eight seven seven nine nine on
(01:26:19):
Fox eight seven seven nin nine on Fox. You cant
hit us up on social media. I'm at Anthony L.
Gargano on Twitter, Anthony L. Gargano on Instagram, so you
can check that out. And of course we come to
you live from the tire raq dot Com studio. We're
brought to you by Progressive Insurance. Yes, Progressive makes bundling
(01:26:43):
easy and affordable. Get a multi policy discount by combining
your motorcycle, RV, your boat, your ATV and more all
your protection one place, bundle and save at Progressive dot com.
And one of the one of the things real quick
that I I did want to talk about, and don't
forget tire rack dot com. We're gonna help you get
(01:27:06):
there and unmatched selection fans, free shipping, free road Hazer
protects over ten thousand recommended installers. Tire rack dot com
the way tire buying should be. So one of the
things I do want to talk about because speaking of
the titles and the Nuggets win and I know that
you know, Jokic has gotten a lot of heat because
(01:27:29):
he didn't celebrate the way kind of we would celebrate.
And look, the European player is a different type of player,
right like we always talk about, you know, and I'm
a you know, I started the show, we were talking
about the City of Oakland, and now it's sad that
(01:27:49):
the City of Oakland they do their reverse boycott and
go to the game and and try to tell you
what the what the franchise means to them and gonna
lose it, which is sad. The foreign player like Jokice
comes here and the title obviously it means something. Me
(01:28:11):
saw him throw Marria into the pool and he's celebrating
his own way. But it's more job for a guy
like jo Kice, and when they play for their country,
when the Euros play for their country, or really everywhere
else around the world except US because we're pro sports, right,
(01:28:32):
So the NBA title is the Apex the World Series,
and of course the super Bowl Trophy, right, that's the
Apex Stanley Cup. So they when they celebrate and it
means something, the quests for winning. It's a global nature.
(01:28:53):
So that's why you know Lithuania of a few years back,
they finished third place in FEBA and they go knocks
and they celebrate, so it's different. So Yokis, you know,
that's the culture where he grew up. So when you
when he it was amazing because and I kind of
(01:29:15):
like you saw it, right, He's talked about the praise,
like wait, I got to go to the parade. I
just want to go home, and like I actually in
that moment, I actually felt for because if you put
yourself in his shoes. You don't know what we like.
(01:29:36):
We're raised differently. Those people in Europe are all around
the world. It's just about they just want to go home.
He want to be with his family, be with in
his in his place that he that he loves. He
comes here, he's working and their their idea of a
championship is way different than ours. We celebrate our own,
(01:30:03):
you know, West for our title, we climb poles. Well,
yeah we do that. In Philly, we we do we
c or in Chicago you go to Grand Park, right,
Mighty Mark, like you know that's right.
Speaker 5 (01:30:17):
You're all stand around Buckingham Fountain, go see the bean
and you start screaming because you won.
Speaker 2 (01:30:23):
Because I think it.
Speaker 1 (01:30:24):
Leads into another conversation you have another time. It's kind
of like which cities, like legitimately are the best cities
in in this in the United States? For what your
conversation here, because there's some cities that you know, a Jacksonville,
that's this city. What are they celebrating?
Speaker 2 (01:30:44):
You know, like it's a smaller town. You know it's
it's smaller town. I mean Denver wins in Denver, you know,
like that may that means a lot for that city. Yeah,
it's a shame would happen, which you know that Mars
in the celebration, which Mars is a little bit, but
that's a great sports city and those people means a lot.
Speaker 1 (01:31:05):
You know.
Speaker 2 (01:31:05):
We talked about this a couple of weeks ago, if
you remember, we talked about, you know, what it means
to win, what it means for civic pride, and how
you got these people that have you know, followed these
teams forever and ever and ever, like you go to Buffalo,
(01:31:26):
like you don't think they deserve a Super Bowl, No
they do.
Speaker 1 (01:31:30):
I mean they The thing about but the thing about
Denver was is that I just don't understand why they're
not getting enough credit like for it, like nobody really
likes around the league and around the nation. It just
people like have this little spite for Denver fans. Even
out in LA it's like a Denver fans you know.
(01:31:50):
And I don't know why that is.
Speaker 2 (01:31:52):
Well, really there's that yeah there West Coast thing.
Speaker 4 (01:31:55):
But yeah, yeah, you know what that maybe because Colorado
is close to.
Speaker 2 (01:31:59):
Us, all right, and I know that there's a there's
a big rival.
Speaker 4 (01:32:03):
I mean, yeah, that's probably it's all.
Speaker 2 (01:32:06):
About being a Lakers daddy and the whole thing, which
I thought was funny.
Speaker 1 (01:32:09):
We had a we had a guy who worked here.
He was from Denver, and everybody just gave him so
much crap for being a Denver fan. I'm like, guys,
he's just from Denver. I mean, he's not a New
York guy. What are we doing here? You know?
Speaker 2 (01:32:22):
You know it's coolbe West coast from Boston? Well right,
you know, and listen on both coasts you have your
rivals like Denver, l A, San Francisco. You know you
got your you got your your rival well, I mean
you could you can imagine, you know, you grew up
(01:32:43):
in the East Coast. You know the deal, Filly, New York, Boston,
you know, d C. It's all the same thing. When
you get the cities like that, they're gonna have your
your innate rivalry.
Speaker 4 (01:32:55):
He hasn't competed besides the Nationals.
Speaker 2 (01:32:58):
No, they're that's a mess. Yeah, that's a that's a
complete mess. All right, eight seven, seven nine one on Fox.
We'll do one more segment. I want to talk to
you guys about father's dad. So these are the questions,
the best dad, advice, the best dad and Sports Moment,
Your Best Dad Theme Movie. I remember going to the
(01:33:22):
the Eagles game. My father took me the NFC championship
game a cold day against the Cowboys, and it was
like that was my first memory of sports, loving it
at an old veteran stadium. Best Dad in Theme Movie,
Best TV Dad, and then of course your Best Dad
gift for Father's Day. See I'd missed out on the Uh,
(01:33:46):
I'm bad with the grilling. I don't have a grill.
Is that a violation? No, no violation, really no, no.
Speaker 5 (01:33:57):
Not everybody's gonna get out and grill and the food
and stand outside, either in the cold or the hot
and grill. Not everybody's going to do that.
Speaker 4 (01:34:05):
I mean somebody, but that is somebody grilling in the
family or anybody else.
Speaker 2 (01:34:10):
Really. I know I do a lot of My wife
and will will split the cooking, but I do a
lot of cooking. I like to cook.
Speaker 1 (01:34:16):
You're not grilling? What are you doing? You know?
Speaker 2 (01:34:19):
What do you mean? Well?
Speaker 1 (01:34:20):
I mean grilling, like where you do you cook in
the kitchen? Okay, so you're cooking still, but you're not grilling. Okay,
you're right.
Speaker 2 (01:34:26):
I don't own a grill.
Speaker 4 (01:34:27):
Okay, you know.
Speaker 2 (01:34:28):
It's killed me. They go, why could you not own
a grill?
Speaker 4 (01:34:30):
I'm shocked.
Speaker 2 (01:34:31):
And then we moved to the suburbs and I you know,
I don't have a I'm the only person in the suburbs.
Is that a grill?
Speaker 4 (01:34:38):
Yeah, I'm shocked.
Speaker 1 (01:34:39):
Especially you probably get offered all types of stuff being
you know the Philly guy. Oh man, I don't know
how you don't have a grill. You gotta get a grill.
Speaker 2 (01:34:47):
Yeah, I don't know. And then I don't. I don't.
I never used it.
Speaker 4 (01:34:52):
Yeah, grilling is great. That's one thing my dad knows
how to do well.
Speaker 2 (01:34:55):
Well, both dads do. Most dads are grill are grill guys.
That's where I'm I'm out.
Speaker 4 (01:35:03):
I'm shocked.
Speaker 2 (01:35:04):
I need to, like, I need to. I need to
fully immerse in the suburban life with a fridge that
filled with meat and a grille.
Speaker 4 (01:35:13):
You do right time?
Speaker 8 (01:35:15):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (01:35:15):
For football season, I gotta.
Speaker 2 (01:35:20):
I'm gonna have. There's no time. We got listen because
I'm I'm you know. Marinovitch's Todd Marivitch's father. He was
the crazy sports dad and the US so that you know,
I joke about I'm Marinovitch, like he wouldn't let his
(01:35:44):
kid have sugar or like not a Coca cola. I'm
a lenient guy, right, but we're when it comes to this,
I had I was working Anthony out because football season
is about to start, and then you know, we you know,
we have our tripping and we come back, can't all right,
(01:36:05):
So I gotta give him any shape. And then we
got We're winded up baseball with our tournaments. So I'm
throwing ground balls and the other one I'm working out,
so we you know, we take it seriously.
Speaker 4 (01:36:20):
Yeah, it's no joke, but that's good.
Speaker 2 (01:36:22):
And they'll both be playing football and Moss will be
playing full ball, full baseball, and he's playing football for
the first year. And it's a big season for ant
because he's eighth grade. So that's a big deal.
Speaker 1 (01:36:37):
It builds character, you know, it's good. You don't want
to be you don't want to be uh you know correct?
You know you don't want them to get away with everything.
Speaker 2 (01:36:45):
Yeah, my man's southside chuck, no grill, serious violation. I
got to take it on the chin man. I am.
I'm a loser, all right. Eight seven seven ninety nine
On the Fox, Chuck, because I love you every supporting
you should be, Chuck. I let you down, man, I
gotta I gotta do that. Seven old Fox. It's how
(01:37:09):

Speaker 9 (01:37:45):
I'm great? Listen to that. I gotta tell you, man.
The best advice my dad ever gave me. I was
at that I was at that age where I was
starting to really realize the painful realization that money was
going out faster and needier than it was coming in.
Speaker 1 (01:37:57):
You know.
Speaker 2 (01:37:58):
Yeah.
Speaker 9 (01:37:59):
So I was claining about it one day and he
sat me down. He said, son. He called me so
because I was pretty bright even then. He said, son,
he said, you remember these three words, and usually at
the appropriate time, you'll never be broke your entire life.
I got all excited. I said, really, Dad, one of
the three words you said, stick them up.
Speaker 2 (01:38:25):
See, I wasn't coming. Man. That's all lou that's classic, man.
I love it. I love it. You got kids?
Speaker 9 (01:38:35):

give me, give me this because you're a wisdom guy.
Give me your best sports and dad moment.
Speaker 12 (01:39:01):
Oh.
Speaker 9 (01:39:03):
I was about ten and my dad had this guy
who worked with him. Thought he was a great pollshooter.
But my dad told me to said, you're not as
good as he thinks he is, you know. So he
got me on the table and he taught me everything
I needed to know, and he push me and push me,
bring me, invite the buddy over right, and so then
(01:39:24):
you can kill this kid. Then you can wipe it now.
I took the duke for three hundred dollars. I was
ten years old. But Dad have the money, you know.
Speaker 1 (01:39:37):
What I mean?
Speaker 2 (01:39:38):
Yeah? Yeah, no, listen, dude, you're the best man. That's great.
Speaker 9 (01:39:42):
I love you.
Speaker 2 (01:39:43):

the Chiefs Super Bowl rings?
Speaker 12 (01:40:13):

best dad advice?
Speaker 12 (01:41:10):

I was like, that's not fair.
Speaker 8 (01:45:35):
And he was like, I got news for your Life's
not fair, deal with it.
Speaker 11 (01:45:39):
And I was so then, so I would say, so
I would say best TV dad.
Speaker 8 (01:45:45):
I would say James Evans.
Speaker 2 (01:45:47):
Ah, James Evan, Yes, yes, sir.
Speaker 8 (01:45:52):
Yes sir. He was tough, but he would also sit
his kids.
Speaker 2 (01:45:56):
The show went down hill when he left the show.
Speaker 8 (01:46:00):
Oh man, it was the show went down tube. Man.
Speaker 11 (01:46:02):
They had that man, like four extra people to carry
that that guy man. And then but you know Stamford,
you know Freddy g when he's playing.
Speaker 8 (01:46:10):
That in here, the clear green vies are on like
he's not there.
Speaker 2 (01:46:13):
W man, you know it?
Speaker 8 (01:46:15):
Yes, yes, yeah, yeah, that was awesome man.
Speaker 11 (01:46:18):
And then best dad movie, Bad News Bears and Breaking
Training when they stole the van and went to Houston
and Kelly Lee bumped into his old man's like a
Vietnam vet and refuse him from the police at the hotel.
Speaker 2 (01:46:31):
Wow, that's fantastic, you called strong man.
Speaker 11 (01:46:36):
So man the best gift that I got for my
dad his birthdays in January.
Speaker 8 (01:46:42):
So I told him I'd spend the night in.
Speaker 11 (01:46:43):
My friend's house, but instead I jumped on the bar
train went out the Candlestick because they were selling tickets
to the Cowboys Niners Championship.
Speaker 8 (01:46:51):
At eighty that morning. So I got two tickets for
twenty five dollars each.
Speaker 11 (01:46:55):
Called my dad like on noon on Sunday and I'm like,
I'm like, let's go to the game. He's like, I
tried to get his ticket to surprise you, but they
were sold out and.
Speaker 8 (01:47:04):
I was like, no, I got tickets. He was like
what and I was like yeah.
Speaker 11 (01:47:06):
He's like, offer you up it too, And so he
took me up from my mom's house and we went
out there man and d White Clark.
Speaker 8 (01:47:12):
Ended up making the catch and we were.
Speaker 2 (01:47:14):
Gone, Dude, what a game. That's an awesome father's son game.
Speaker 1 (01:47:22):
Man.
Speaker 11 (01:47:22):
It was my first football game, man ever.
Speaker 8 (01:47:25):
And the other game I.
Speaker 11 (01:47:26):
Say my mother's favorite moment. It was my first baseball game.
My dad took me to see the seventy five Red
Big Red Machine played the Giants and he rear ended
somebody on the Bay bridge with his It was with
his four country stand three up three on the tree,
and he got out and he bit the fan back,
you know what, like you could do in the low cars,
(01:47:47):
and he sliced his hands.
Speaker 8 (01:47:49):
So he's like, I need your T shirt and I was.
Speaker 14 (01:47:51):
Like, it's only shirt like that, and he's like, give
me the shirt.
Speaker 8 (01:47:53):
And so I was out there and I get to
the game and like.
Speaker 11 (01:47:57):
Like Darryl Evans struck out and the ball all to
the back up Johnny Bitch goes to get it, but
Evan's done to see him and starts walking to the
dugout and everyone starts booming like run.
Speaker 8 (01:48:07):
Idiot, and then he looks back.
Speaker 11 (01:48:09):
He starts to run, he sees bitch chasing him, so
he stops again and starts, you know, starts to go
to the dugout, and then bitch.
Speaker 8 (01:48:17):
Is fired it to first and then he wants start booing.
And I didn't even know what it was. I was like,
cause I was like what booing thing? Right, I looked around.
I was like, boom, what.
Speaker 2 (01:48:28):
A call man? Excellent stuff, buddy. We appreciated that. Good
that's good stuff, man, class Are you kidding me?
Speaker 1 (01:48:36):
That?
Speaker 2 (01:48:37):
The art of booing? Which I'm from Philadelphia, so you know,
that was like we were born and bred. And I
was interesting because I was never really a booer because
I think I grew up in it in a generations
where everybody was good. So it was like more happy stuff.
(01:48:59):
But now before me there were nasty bowers, and then
after me we had we had the boom the boo
brigade going. I bet you you probably grew up a booer.
Speaker 4 (01:49:13):
Yeah, No, I wasn't a booer.
Speaker 12 (01:49:16):
I was.
Speaker 4 (01:49:16):
I wasn't about the building. No, No, he wasn't a
booer either.
Speaker 2 (01:49:22):
You call off your boo is something that gets pasted down.
Speaker 4 (01:49:25):
No, it's it's yeah, it wasn't. He wasn't a booer,
but he was. He's a he's a realist, you know,
keeps it real.
Speaker 2 (01:49:33):
You know, he's not like keeping it real, but really
it's you know, they're they're harsh.
Speaker 5 (01:49:40):
My dad wash boo. My dad wouldn't let that. He
wouldn't let me boo.
Speaker 2 (01:49:43):
Really no booings, that's fascinating. He said, say no to
the boot.
Speaker 5 (01:49:51):
The boom can't stop it. Don't boom.
Speaker 4 (01:49:56):
Should get market shirt and say say no to the boo.
Speaker 2 (01:49:59):
Dude, that's awesome. Your father to Now, what was his lesson?
Speaker 5 (01:50:04):
He just didn't like the I for some reason. He
just didn't like the idea of booing like that because
it's just the way it sounds, and you're sort of
being sort of in his mind, I think you're being
rude the wrong way because you're just booing. And yeah,
it was the gentleman parts. It's just don't don't do that.
(01:50:25):
Don't boo with the crowd, don't do that, don't yell
at the players like that.
Speaker 2 (01:50:30):
Wow, that's wild. Listen. You know it's funny the culture
right because you know, so the veteran stadium. I mean,
if I told you how many games I heard that
boo like that sound echo, I mean like that, and
(01:50:56):
it was a loud, throaty boo. Like in Philadelphia. The
boo is like a hello and a goodbye.
Speaker 5 (01:51:08):
It's a birthright.
Speaker 2 (01:51:10):
It's the truth.
Speaker 1 (01:51:12):
You know.
Speaker 2 (01:51:12):
It was funny. One day I was on the air,
it's the Phillies. So the Phillies win the World Series.
It's two thousand and eight, and that was the city's
first championship in twenty five years, spanning one hundred seasons.
Can you imagine that? And you know, like phull Off
is an amazing sports city. So they go twenty five years,
(01:51:38):
one hundred seasons, no championship. They finally win. Oh wait,
it's the Phillies. So I go on the air, I go, well,
this team should be above the boo that there should
be an edict no booing. Now was that raised that reasonable? Yeah?
Speaker 4 (01:52:02):
For a certain amount of time, right right? And I
just it was like five year contract, maybe three matt minimum.
Speaker 2 (01:52:11):
You know, so chrise like you broke the twenty five
year drought, Like I gotta you know to me, there's
no booing, don't you know? I for who was it?
Brett mine? They boot somebody the first day of the season,
first day the booing eating was broken day one when
(01:52:34):
they were and I forget who it was that they booed.
It was a reason why too, And they booed them
first day of the season where they was like the
ring ceremony, they got booed.
Speaker 4 (01:52:49):
Was it Jason Worth?
Speaker 2 (01:52:52):
No, it wasn't Worth.
Speaker 1 (01:52:54):
No.
Speaker 2 (01:52:54):
I know he went to Washington later, but it wasn't worth.
It was somebody. It was like a picture. I'm trying
to remember why, but and I just remember saying that
on the show. Hey man, we should have a you know,
the booedict, like this team should be above the boo,
And people are going, what are you nuts? Nobody's above
the boo. So I started naming athletes, like certain guys
(01:53:19):
should be above the boo, and they were like, no, no,
there's no athlete that's above the boo. But I will
say this. You know who should be booed? Who?
Speaker 15 (01:53:34):
Cat?
Speaker 12 (01:53:35):
Oh?
Speaker 2 (01:53:36):
Yeah? I mean is he delusional?
Speaker 4 (01:53:38):
I don't know why you'd make a call.
Speaker 2 (01:53:40):
I changed the game? What on what planet are you talking?
You changed the game? It's the game's different because I played. See.
That's what's wrong, right, What's wrong is when you got
guys like him who actually thinks he's a difference maker,
when he's a guy with fleas, he can't win.
Speaker 5 (01:54:05):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:54:05):
I don't know why he made that statement.
Speaker 2 (01:54:07):
I mean, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me mean,
look at me, look at you. You have a lot
of talent and you've underachieved.
Speaker 1 (01:54:17):
Yeah, he's underachieved more than Joel a lot more. Yeah,
I mean, you know, and we're pointing the finger at Joel,
you know, like I mean NBA fans.
Speaker 2 (01:54:28):
Yep. Yeah, all right, let's say quick too. We'll come
back in just a moment. Eight seven seven ninety nine
Old Fox eight seven seven nine to nine Old Fox
fellas right here on Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 5 (01:54:45):
Hey, yeah, because already after the build up, the game
has been played. You don't want to hang around. You
want to start to have a start all over again.
Speaker 2 (01:54:54):
Right, Like the journey, like the pre game is always
better because it's like it's the anticipation, right, speaking of it,
of that advice, you know, pregame, the journey is way
more fun than a conclusion, even if sometimes the conclusion
(01:55:16):
is the parade, it's great all that stuff, But the
journey is the season. There is a journey that's there.
Speaker 5 (01:55:27):
The pregame is about the strategy, what you're gonna.
Speaker 2 (01:55:30):
Do, taking it bad and all right, well, what's going
to happen out of.
Speaker 5 (01:55:33):
The was it about the San Francisco coaches used to
schedule the first ten plays and that was going to
be his plan for the game until something changed. He
already set like, was it, Walsh, He had ten set plays.
Speaker 2 (01:55:46):
He started it. Yeah, and they called the scripted place.
So now every coach scripts the first fifteen. So you you,
all coaches will have their scripted plays and then they'll
DEVI eight you know, accordingly with their game play. You
have your game plan, but you have scripted your first
fifteen plays. And you're right, Mark, You're right about that
(01:56:11):
that Walsh started the whole script that he would descript
in his first ten plays based on what he saw
from their defense, kind of figuring out kind of what
they're doing and wanting to establish what they wanted to establish.
You scripted your first ten plays, and that's still you know,
(01:56:32):
obviously still happens now. But I love pregame. There's something
about pregame I much. I like doing. I don't even
watch postgame, Like I don't know about you. Eight. Do
you watch post game?
Speaker 1 (01:56:48):
No, unless it's uh No, I don't No, I don't
not even. I don't even watch like Philly's post game
in that kind of sess. I mean sometimes like last
year I did because it was kind of exciting to like,
you know, watch the postgame, like unless you're watching postgame
interviews and you're really invested, Like nobody's watching postgame.
Speaker 4 (01:57:08):
You're done, You're going, You're moving on with your day.
Speaker 2 (01:57:12):
Well, it's funny because you have some people who like it,
who actually like the post game. I prefer pregame postgame.
I watched the game, so I kind of don't want
unless it's some sort of press conference that I'm interested in. Otherwise,
you know, I saw the game. I don't really need
to I don't need any analysis on it. We saw it,
(01:57:34):
and pregame gets your hYP like pregame is a part
of the you know, get the fun of it, like, oh,
I can't wait, let's talk about it. That's why, like
you know, talk about football in June is part of
the fun because you know, you're it's the part of
(01:57:55):
the journey toward arcing toward the start of the season.
It's funny. All right, We will take a quick teo.
We have a big hour coming up next with the
Fellas on Fox Sports Radio Father's Day Weekend where the

so I gave uh. We came up with the five,
the Father's Day five, and these were five questions. They
(01:59:21):
included the best Dad advice you ever got? The best
uh Dad? Then movie? The best TV Dad? Who's your
best TV Dad? Mondy Mark?
Speaker 5 (01:59:37):
Uh TV Dad? I think I said?
Speaker 2 (01:59:39):
Al Bundy said Bundy, right, that's right, you said, al Bundy.
Who did you say?
Speaker 4 (01:59:45):
I said, Uh, Bob Saggett, that's right, full house.
Speaker 2 (01:59:50):
Very good. We've had Fred Sanford, we had James Evans.
Who else did we have? We say there were some
great ones. Uh that's right, Tony Soprano, No, no, well
(02:00:15):
Tony did cheer for AJ at the football games. Yeah,
it's just sports moment when AJ recovered the fumble when
he was the big defensive tackle. Uh, best dad, then movie,
best dad, gift, best dad in sports moment. And of
(02:00:36):
course I revealed that I do not have a grill,
and uh, many of our listeners have written me deservedly so.
In fact, south Side Chuck very disappointed. I disappointed Southside Chuck,
that's your guy. I know. I disappointed him. He said,
(02:00:59):
you gotta buy a if only for prop value, if nothing.
This is actually awsome advice. You gotta buy the grill
for prop value of nothing else, so you could never
say you don't have a grill, right, nothing better than
your own burghers or dogs on the grill, or a
(02:01:20):
big piece of meat smoked on the grill. Plus, if
you at least had the prop value, your manhood is intact.
I'm with it. He's right, it's outside Chuck, He's not wrong.
Do you have one? Mark?
Speaker 5 (02:01:41):
No, no pressure to get one? No, no pressure.
Speaker 2 (02:01:45):
Well you don't have a grill. No, Wow, you and
I are the only two guys. I think even he
probably has a grill.
Speaker 1 (02:01:53):
In the apartment. Yeah, in the apartment, well not in
my part, and like everybody shares it, you know, it's
like one of those oh.
Speaker 2 (02:01:59):
Which community grill? Any grill?
Speaker 1 (02:02:01):
Yeah, I don't have my own, so technically it's not
your a grill, but he does, Yeah as that, but
I do have access to a grill. If I wanted
to grill, like if I can go home and grow
a grilled dog.
Speaker 2 (02:02:13):
If I wanted to, like right now, right, you can
go home and grill some odd dogs.
Speaker 1 (02:02:17):
Yeah, it'd be a you know, probably wouldn't be that
comfortable or that great. You know, I'd have to go
outside and.
Speaker 2 (02:02:24):
That whole thing. What do you mean getting outside?
Speaker 1 (02:02:27):
Because it's out in the yard. You know, it's like
out in the community yard.
Speaker 2 (02:02:30):
You know, it's not a prison yard. No what I'm saying.
It's not like you're gonna go get shanked.
Speaker 1 (02:02:38):
Yeah, but it's like a thing.
Speaker 4 (02:02:39):
It's like you gotta go out, you know, we gotta.
Speaker 1 (02:02:43):
Yeah, it's a thing like it's it's a it's a
good twenty five minute gig, thirty maybe of you walking
back and forth.
Speaker 4 (02:02:51):
You maybe forget stuff. It's a maybe a.
Speaker 2 (02:02:54):
Four minute way.
Speaker 1 (02:02:54):
It's a four minute walk from the grill to the
from my room from my apartment. All right, people know
what I'm saying here.
Speaker 2 (02:03:02):
No, they don't. You out of your mind. You don't
grail about.
Speaker 4 (02:03:04):
You don't grill, so how would you know?
Speaker 2 (02:03:07):
Well, you're right. My point is if I had a
community grill, I would probably grill.
Speaker 1 (02:03:13):
Well, maybe you should tell the homeowners association.
Speaker 2 (02:03:17):
But I don't have a homeowner. Wait a second, I
don't understand how it's a thirty forty minute or deal.
Well you could just walk four minutes to the grill,
throw a dog on the grill and you're done.
Speaker 1 (02:03:33):
Because it's like you got to carry your stuff out.
What stuff you gotta because you gotta spray it down.
What you got to clean it because you don't know
who you used it. You got to make sure you
clean it fair. You got to spray it down because
you know, we got that's what they tell you to do.
Speaker 2 (02:03:47):
So you do it.
Speaker 1 (02:03:49):
Then you you got to do some other stuff and
you got to turn it on the meat in the
you know, throw the saalt on there, and you throw
it on there.
Speaker 2 (02:04:00):
That's like the grill.
Speaker 4 (02:04:02):
You know whatever, it's a thirty minute or deal.
Speaker 2 (02:04:08):
Time. You said, I gotta go outside, of the yard.
I'm just imagining you like you're hiding in your cell.
Speaker 5 (02:04:15):
But he's walking around looking for Andy Frayne getting shanked
his Hall of Fame.
Speaker 11 (02:04:20):
You know.
Speaker 1 (02:04:24):
Yeah, you know what also bad thing is when you
have a grill and it starts raining, you know, and
you got to go out there. Like my mom called me,
yesha and her you know, ironically, her grill broke when
they were when they were in the rain grilling last week.
Speaker 2 (02:04:43):
It broke.
Speaker 1 (02:04:44):
Yeah, I don't know, I gotta get more details.
Speaker 2 (02:04:48):
Well, what did it rain? Yesaid, southern California? How much rain? Again?
Speaker 4 (02:04:52):
We're getting tons of rain? I mean no, no, no, no, no, no,
no no no. My mom's in Philadelphia.
Speaker 1 (02:04:57):
I was telling you about my mother's grill, right, but
we don't get tons of rain out here unless I'm going.
Speaker 5 (02:05:03):
To like lake ahead, go outside.
Speaker 1 (02:05:07):
Originally, well, hold on, it has been very rainy here
in Los Angeles, most most rain we've gone in decades.
Speaker 4 (02:05:15):
But you know, it's a it's a commute. It's a commute.
Forget the rain.
Speaker 1 (02:05:20):
It's a commute. It's a thirty minute gig. And it's
a thirty minute gig. We got, we got Chris from Nevada.
Time go ahead, all.
Speaker 2 (02:05:28):
Right, Well, let me get Chris up here while you
do what you do. Chris, you're all with the fellas.
What's happening to, Chris? What's up, buddy? Happy Father'sday?
Speaker 12 (02:05:43):
Thank you.
Speaker 8 (02:05:44):
But that was the most ridiculous thing I've.
Speaker 6 (02:05:47):
Ever heard in my dire life.
Speaker 4 (02:05:50):
What Chuck, Kurt? Chris got him? Chuck the christ?
Speaker 8 (02:05:58):
Yeah, I'm here, but what thing?
Speaker 11 (02:06:03):
Yeah?
Speaker 8 (02:06:04):
Whatever you just said?
Speaker 2 (02:06:08):
He can't repeat it. Leave alone. Listen, Chris is right,
it was ridiculous. I just want to know which part
it was ridiculous. The whole thing was ridiculous.
Speaker 4 (02:06:20):
Oh, which you don't agree that it's a it's a commute.
Speaker 1 (02:06:23):
When you got a grill in the yard from your
from your apartment, it's a it's common sense.
Speaker 4 (02:06:28):
I mean, it's a good I.
Speaker 8 (02:06:29):
Live in an apartment.
Speaker 4 (02:06:31):
Yeah, so you got a community grill.
Speaker 11 (02:06:32):
I just fired for the military after twenty two years,
and I'm killing you.
Speaker 8 (02:06:38):
That's the dumbest ship.
Speaker 2 (02:06:39):
Wow.
Speaker 4 (02:06:40):
Well, thanks for serving. We appreciate you.
Speaker 8 (02:06:44):
We do, like I've heard.
Speaker 4 (02:06:46):
No, No, that's great. And you get a guy in
the military.
Speaker 1 (02:06:49):
Word right, time out, all right, listen, great stuff, crazy brother.
Speaker 2 (02:06:53):
I appreciate it. Thank you for schooling. All right? But
can he can he tell everybody's right? He's stupid.
Speaker 4 (02:07:01):
No, he's no, he's right at parts, he's right at parts.
He knows what I'm saying.
Speaker 2 (02:07:04):
He was killed the last three minutes of the show.
Speaker 4 (02:07:07):
All right, Chris, go on that.
Speaker 2 (02:07:08):
Let's go on.
Speaker 5 (02:07:09):
No, he moved on.
Speaker 1 (02:07:11):
So it's a good conversation. This is going to be
a conversation everybody's family this weekend. If it's a commute,
all right, go on, Chris.
Speaker 5 (02:07:19):
No, Chris is gone.
Speaker 4 (02:07:20):
Chris is gone, Chris terrible.
Speaker 2 (02:07:26):
All right, I think I need to time out me too.
Speaker 5 (02:07:30):
I got another I got another quick dad dad sports story.
Speaker 2 (02:07:36):
We couldn't even get to the damn to Chris's five
because it was so ridiculous.
Speaker 4 (02:07:44):
Well, you kept egging me on about the grill.
Speaker 2 (02:07:47):
I didn't.
Speaker 1 (02:07:47):
You're at all you people agree about this grill thing
about it's it's a lot to grill.
Speaker 4 (02:07:56):
It takes a lot to grill. It's not like just
putting eggs on the dove.
Speaker 5 (02:08:02):
Is that a non secretary? That's It's just everything is
like this, Is that you.
Speaker 4 (02:08:10):
Get what I'm saying, becus, Oh my gosh, this is
the strangest.
Speaker 2 (02:08:17):
I just I can't get these ten minutes back. I'm
audience you guys. I apologize, all right, I'm sorry.
Speaker 4 (02:08:26):
This is what it's all about it it's this.
Speaker 2 (02:08:29):
Is bad radio. Be quiet, all right, I'm done. Go on, Mark,
what's your sports? Your dad in sports moment? Please?
Speaker 5 (02:08:37):
So we were at a Cubs game. We were sitting
on the first base side and all of a sudden
there's this guy just you know, sitting there and he
has a parakeet on his head. So yes, he has
a bird under his hat. He takes his hat off,
the birds sitting on his head. Somehow, the ushers came
(02:08:58):
down and they brought the police down, and the guy goes,
I thought I told you before not to bring that
bird in here. That by the time the ushers come down,
he put the cat back on his head, trying to
hide the bird on his head. Everyone around us is booing.
A couple of guys were screaming, I'll pay for the
birds ticket, and said we're all screaming leave the bird alone,
(02:09:19):
Leave the guy alone. So the cops came down with
the ushers and made the guy leave. So all of
us in this section were screaming. It was brought a parroke,
so he had done it before because the usher said,
now I told you by bringing this bird in here,
you gotta go. Let's go. It's bizarre, craziest day we
(02:09:43):
still talk.
Speaker 2 (02:09:46):
Oh my god. All right, well facts, because that story
was way better than eas story his meandering over the grill.
We're going to take a quick too, because I need it,
and we're gonna come back here with the Geek to
talk fantasy football. Thanks to Lord right here Fellas on Fox.
(02:10:10):
All right, Welcome back Fellas, Foxsports Radio from the Tyraq
dot com studios. All right, now, I've been joking. I
was telling I'm joging for a little football. It's June seventeenth,
(02:10:33):
Father's Day weekend. It's great, you get the US Open. Okay,
you know, I let the US Open Baseball. Love baseball.
But let's be real. The next time the butterflies come
will happen shortly after Labor Day weekend and the NFL
(02:10:56):
and joining us because I got the itch to talk
some football. Is our fantasy expert and he only goes
by one name like Prince. He's just Geek. Hello, Geek,
good morning.
Speaker 14 (02:11:12):
Hey, what's going on fellas.
Speaker 2 (02:11:14):
First of all, let me wish you a happy Father's
Day hashtag girl dad you know it.
Speaker 14 (02:11:21):
Same same year. That's right, Happy Father's Day everybody out there.
I'll be working the grill tomorrow. I'm ready for parents.
I'll be working the grill.
Speaker 2 (02:11:32):
See, you don't even bring the word that that five
letter wear it up because we just got through a
whole big mess involving the grill, because I don't have one,
and I want to, like, I gotta go. I have
to get one. I've been saying it forever. Our e
our producer just screwed up royally over the grill. So
(02:11:56):
you know, I'm glad that you're set. So you're gonna
be doing your thing tomorrow.
Speaker 14 (02:12:02):
I will be, Yeah, I'll be. I got the apron,
the whole thing. I'm out there where I got.
Speaker 2 (02:12:07):
The hat does say geek on it. You have your
own geek lined apron.
Speaker 14 (02:12:11):
Actually I do wear the perfect Father's Day grilling uniform,
but it's actually just these these uh white uh white
socks with with flip flops. I got my khaki shorts
on and you know, my dad outfit, and I looked.
Speaker 8 (02:12:25):
I looked apart.
Speaker 2 (02:12:27):
Oh that's awesome. Uh all right, dude, I'm Jones. I
can't wait for football. Dude, I can't wait. It's driving
me nuts.
Speaker 14 (02:12:38):
It's around the corner. I love it, and it's the
perfect time to start talking about it. You know, fantasy
draft season is really for me. For me, it's right
after h you know, July fourth weekend, even were drafting
a rate getting in there. There's there's early drafts happening now, softs.
Speaker 12 (02:12:56):
Oh yeah.
Speaker 9 (02:12:57):
Yeah.
Speaker 14 (02:12:58):
The the rise of best ball, which is an interesting
that's both a different format where you don't really have
to manage the team.
Speaker 2 (02:13:05):
You could just pick a team and you know, so
that the audience. Yeah, so best ball, explain that to everybody.
Speaker 14 (02:13:13):
So best ball is a different way of doing fantasy
football where normally we'd have waivers and you're picking up
players and you're dropping guys, and you have a lot
of in season work to do a lot of management.
You know, you can only draft so many teams that
way before you start to run out of the ability
to pay attention. So best ball is a different format
where you just draft a team and the strategy has
(02:13:35):
a little bit more to do with you know, just
avoiding injuries or dealing with those situations, but the computer
will automatically place the player that scores the most Fantasy
points for that position in the roster spot. So basically
there's no in season management.
Speaker 2 (02:13:51):
Oh so you'll even put a starting lineup together. You
just draft your team and then you get the best
starting lineup. Whatever happen exactly.
Speaker 14 (02:14:01):
You don't have to look at it. There's no need
to pay attention just to see if you want at
the end of the year. So not quite the social
you know, enjoyment.
Speaker 2 (02:14:10):
That we have we made the end of the year.
It's not a weekly isn't it a weekly endeavor? Now?
Speaker 11 (02:14:15):
Yes, week?
Speaker 14 (02:14:16):
You can check you if you want each week, and
then of course you know you you're standing at the
end of the it's nothing you can do.
Speaker 8 (02:14:21):
You can't pick up.
Speaker 14 (02:14:22):
A player, so you have to draft it wisely. Get
to understand, you know, hey, the running back might get hurt.
Speaker 8 (02:14:27):
Who you know, who's his back up?
Speaker 2 (02:14:28):
I gots I think that's an interesting strategy. That's an
interesting strategy. All right, So have you have you begun
studying you know who to look at? Draft wise? Like,
have you had do you have your big board? You know,
I know a lot of real NFL gms and they
have in their office. They're already have the twenty twenty
(02:14:49):
four big board up with a list of eyes and
what they are and the whole thing.
Speaker 14 (02:14:56):
I've been working the board. We've been working it, so
you know, early strategy for twenty twenty three. The first
thing I always look at every year. Last year we
saw this at the QB position is really important, of course,
and last season there were you know, the three superstar
quarterbacks that it actually paid to have them on your
(02:15:16):
team because the rest of the quarterback position was really
weak last season. So if you look at Mahomes, if
you look at Jalen Hurts, who might be number one
at this point or Mahomes and Hurts are duking it
out for the top spot with Josh Allen in the
mix for the top three guys.
Speaker 2 (02:15:32):
Let me just say this. You have loved Jalen Hurts
since the beginning more so than I who you know,
am in Philadelphia bred person, and you love Jalen as
a fantasy player and as a quarterback.
Speaker 14 (02:15:50):
I've been begging people the last two years to interest
him early. You know he was available, Like I'm going
to give you this year's Jalen Hurts, so I have
that we're ready with some new ones. So the difference
with Jalen Hurts is now you're paying the iron price
to draft him. He's going at the top of the
second round in early drafts, all three of the elite quarterbacks.
(02:16:11):
I am not an advocate of using an early pick
on a quarterback. This is this is how I win
the kind of leagues that ninety percent of people who
might be listening to this are in, you know, against
your buddies. They get they get really sort of sucked
into these early quarterbacks, and I don't think that's a
good approach for fantasy football. So this year, because of
(02:16:33):
how last year went and there were so few high
performing quarterbacks outside of the big three, they're now pushed
all the way up into, like I said, the second
round of the draft. So I'm looking for the next
big thing. Right, we already know those guys.
Speaker 8 (02:16:48):
You gotta pay about your geek geek.
Speaker 14 (02:16:52):
Yeah, we can't, we can't pay. We're not doing that.
So I'm going to give you a couple of names
here that you can get later in the draft, and
really you'll gain a positional edge against your opponent now
Number one is Justin Fields.
Speaker 9 (02:17:04):
Now, I don't know if it's.
Speaker 14 (02:17:05):
A breakout at this point. He's doing it right. Justin
Fields exploded as a runner last year and it reminded
me of sort of honestly, it reminded me of year
one Jalen Hurts a little bit in the sense that
the arm wasn't quite there yet, but the legs got
there and the head was in the right place. And
(02:17:27):
I think the arm is going to come around for
Justin Fields this year. I love the pairing with DJ Moore,
so I think you can wait on quarterback a little bit.
Grev Fields. I'm not just a shocker or anything, but
I do love him. There's two more quarterbacks that I'm
looking at this year that I think you can get
later and can really potentially compete for, you know, top
(02:17:49):
five or six production one of them, and don't laugh
at me.
Speaker 16 (02:17:55):
Never left Daniel Jones.
Speaker 2 (02:17:59):
Daniel. I know Daniel Jones.
Speaker 14 (02:18:05):
EW give him a couple of weapons. You know he's
doing it with the legs as well. I loved what
I saw at the end of the year with Daniel
Jones last year, and they don't feel very comfortable with it,
but he's in the mix. You could get him so
late you need a second guy.
Speaker 2 (02:18:21):
Of course.
Speaker 14 (02:18:22):
Another one is Trevor Lawrence. Looks like he's coming into
his own. I mean, how good do you the transformation?
Because between Trevor Lawrence you're one and year two unbelievable, tremendous. Yeah,
coaching staff helps over there in the change. But going
into year three, I think Trevor Lawrence is poised for
(02:18:46):
an explosive breakout this year. Calvin Ridley, Christian Kirk. I mean,
the team is stacked with pass catchers. He looked great
last year, so I love and Trevor Lawrence also did
it a little bit with the legs.
Speaker 8 (02:19:05):
Now.
Speaker 14 (02:19:05):
He's more of a Mahomes style runner.
Speaker 6 (02:19:08):
Is not like a field.
Speaker 14 (02:19:09):
He's not uh running for one hundred yards, but he can.
He has the mobility and he will run in a
touchdown or two here and there. So really excited about him.
Speaker 2 (02:19:19):
And real quick, I let me just say, you're always spottling.
I agree even you know as much as I hate
Daniel Jones, you're going to be right because this is
why I got a feel, I got a sense I
love Dabel. I think Brian Dabel is a great coach. Right, So,
(02:19:41):
Brian Dabell is not dumb. There's something that he likes
in Daniel Jones, and I got to believe that he can.
You know, he's he'll be able to scheme around his weakness.
Speaker 14 (02:19:57):
They seem to get it figured out unless and you're
right and Dabel, Dabel is making a case for is
he the is he the best coach? You know, I
think there's a discussion that's going to happen over the
next couple of years with Dabel being that guy. And
it's a lot of it.
Speaker 2 (02:20:17):
Coaches. I'm saying, bright mind though.
Speaker 14 (02:20:20):
Yeah, he could cement himself as like one of the
best coaches in the league. You know, I'm not there
yet with him, but give him a year or two
of doing good things. Yeah, Danna Jones needs a couple
more weapons. They still didn't quite surround him with enough.
But I loved what I saw at the end of
last seasons.
Speaker 2 (02:20:39):
And your point is you got value, you're getting them late.
Speaker 14 (02:20:42):
Yeah, yeah, these are these are guys that you're getting
so late that you'll have to you'll have a second
guy on your team, but just you want him there
because if he breaks out, then you got a positional
edge on everybody else who had to. You know, when
you spend your second rounder, you're you're giving up not
name Joe Man, Tony Pollard or Mindre Stevenson or you
(02:21:05):
know the great wide receivers that are available over there,
and then you don't get another one. So if you
take a later quarterback and it works, you have one
elite player above everybody else in your league.
Speaker 8 (02:21:18):
And that's how you whin me.
Speaker 2 (02:21:20):
Absolutely, Gus, wait, geek, hold on one second, because we
get an update, Kevin, give me the update, give us
some training the league.
Speaker 7 (02:21:28):
The NBA suspending John Moran twenty five games after he
posted a video online showing him waving what appeared to
be a gun. The suspension coming with conditions for his return.
That's according to the league. During a suspension, Moran will
not be able to take part in any league or
team activities. He will lose more than seven and a
half million dollars of his salary. He was previously suspended
(02:21:51):
back in March for eight games for a similar incident.
Michael Jordan reportedly selling the Charlotte Hornets to a group
led by Gabe Plockin and Rick Schnall. However, he will
retain a minority stake in the franchise. College Athletics. San
Diego State reportedly giving the Mountain West Conference written notice
that the school intends to resign from the league. Contrary
(02:22:13):
to earlier reports, it is not an official notice, but
in any instance, the exit feet to leave the conference
for the fall of twenty twenty four will double to
thirty four million dollars on July first, and in that letter,
the school did ask the Mountain West for a one
month extension on that exit fee doubling. In Golf US Open,
Ricky Fowler in the lead. He's ten hunder through three rounds.
(02:22:34):
He has one stroke ahead of Wyndham Clark. In soccer,
US Soccer announcing, Greg Berhalter has been reappointed as manager
of the ewens men's national team. He will be in
that position through the twenty twenty six World Cup. As
some late Major League Baseball scores from the West Coast,
Giants beat the Dodgers seven to five, coming from behind
to win it an eleven innings, Mariners outlast the White
(02:22:57):
Sox three to two, Ray's beat the Padres six to
Phillies over the Athletic six to one, and the Diamondbacks
take down the Guardians five to one.
Speaker 2 (02:23:05):
Dock to you guys, all right, keV, you got it?
Speaker 1 (02:23:08):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (02:23:08):
We are the Fellas Live fortheti iraq dot Com Studios
and joining us is our fantasy football expert, the Geek
Geek already, Lads and jewels at our feet. Daniel Jones,
Justin Fields, and Trevor Lawrence his favorites. Favorite quarterbacks. Don't
(02:23:34):
go heavy after the big quarterbacks because your theory is
you don't want to drift quarterbacks at the beginning of
the second round.
Speaker 14 (02:23:42):
Now you waste those picks, you will. I'd love listen,
everybody wants those guys, but you're you're sacrificing too much
with with wasting or using a second round er on
those kind of players. Take the studs early position players,
and that brings me to the other position group and
just generally the big story I think for the twenty
(02:24:04):
twenty three fantasy season is gonna be all of this
sophomore class. The rookies from last year are really really prime.
There's a bunch of rookies from last year all prime
to break out this year, and I think we're gonna
mint some new fantasy stars this year.
Speaker 2 (02:24:20):
And a lot of that's good and by the way,
good verbiage there yet some news, So you know, I'm
a fan of that sort of thing. I love words,
So go ahead, you know.
Speaker 14 (02:24:34):
Of course, you know we're looking at that rookie wide
receiver cuss from last year, Garrett Wilson. He's got Aaron
Rodgers and Q. You know, the expectations are sky high
for Garrett Wilson. Chris Olave already looking good last year.
I don't even know who the quarterbacks were for the
Saints last season, yet somehow Chris Olave threw it all
looked pretty good over there. So those are pretty obvious
(02:24:57):
ones and they're already you're talking second draft picks at
this point there. The expectations are sky high. But some
of the other rookie are sophomores like Christian Watson, Traylan Burk's,
even Drake London. All of these players look poised to
make a name for themselves at the wide receiver position.
(02:25:18):
And my sneaky guys, my most sneaky I don't know sneaky,
but weirdly undervalued sophomore from last year's actually at the
running back position, Rashad White. Wow, yeah, he's no one's
he's I guess he's going on to the radar right now.
Like I love Rashad White, I don't understand it. There's
(02:25:39):
no competition over there for touches. The kid was a
pass catcher in college. I mean, he's got everything that
you want in terms of a player that can produce
well in terms of a fantasy asset, and he's he's
just he's just forgotten. He's not even going in the
top twenty four running backs this year. So if they're
(02:26:00):
there's your there's your breakout sophomore running back that no
one's really paying attention to.
Speaker 2 (02:26:06):
Yeah, man, that's cool. I gotta tell you, Rashad White.
Tampa Bay, nobody's there rebuild and he's a good player
and he's going to be a big part of their offense.
I think that's.
Speaker 3 (02:26:21):
Well.
Speaker 14 (02:26:21):
So they given the ball to I'm not sure that
Camp is going to be a team that cours a lot,
So that's an unfortunate thing. But you know, if you have,
especially in PPR, he's a pass catcher. He came out
rated one of the best half catching backs certainly of
last year's draft class and just generally at the high
high end of half catching running back. So we haven't
(02:26:42):
seen it yet, and I think that's why a lot
of people are ignoring it. But I wouldn't. I wouldn't
ignore it for too long. And you know, the flip
side is, we have an interesting rookie class coming in
as well. Not as much expectations as maybe I had
last year for the rookies, but but there are a
couple of players. Obviously, Jon Robinson is for me. I
(02:27:06):
have Jhon Robinson ranked number one overall, so I'm just
going right right all in a running back with Jon
this year. I just think he's going to have so
many opportunities. Rookies can explode, can can break out. He's
got the fresh, you know, legs, young, you know, less,
less possibility of injury than some of the you know,
(02:27:28):
Christian McCaffrey and Saquon Barkley types that are sort of
you know, in the second part of their in the
late twenties. I'm nervous about those guys, so really excited
about Jon Robinson and interested in what Jamir Gifts can
do as well.
Speaker 2 (02:27:46):
All right, so if you have the first pick in
the draft, we're like, where are you going?
Speaker 8 (02:27:53):
First?
Speaker 2 (02:27:53):
Tick?
Speaker 14 (02:27:54):
Overall, I think is lockdown Justin Jefferson, right, So that's
that's going You know, the wide receivers, these super elite
wide receivers are going ahead of the top top running
backs for good reason, I think. So it's it's really
Justin Jefferson, then Jamar Chase, and then we start to
look at you know, the number one ranked back right
(02:28:17):
now is Christian McCaffrey. But like I said, I would
take Bijeon ahead of him.
Speaker 2 (02:28:21):
Wow, So theoretically you're taking Bijon third overall.
Speaker 8 (02:28:26):
Yeah, yeah, wow.
Speaker 14 (02:28:31):
Excited for the player and his team wants to run
the football.
Speaker 8 (02:28:34):
You know that team does not.
Speaker 14 (02:28:36):
They're not They're not out here talking about throwing the football.
That's not what they're gonna do. They're running it. They're
gonna run them thirty times a game. This kid is
gonna have set records for rookie touching.
Speaker 13 (02:28:48):
I like that kind of thing.
Speaker 2 (02:28:51):
You go Bijon third overall.
Speaker 6 (02:28:54):
That the geek.
Speaker 14 (02:28:57):
Arguments. The arguments could be made for McCaffrey. Arguments could
be made. I guess for you know, Saque, I guess
I don't. I don't agree Christian McCaffrey think about his
age what's San Francisco gonna do? Are they going to
run into the ground team right with you?
Speaker 2 (02:29:17):
Yes?
Speaker 6 (02:29:17):
The worst?
Speaker 14 (02:29:19):
All right, you want to you want to suffer here,
let me let me, let me show you some suffering
of the fantasy football.
Speaker 6 (02:29:23):
Uh uh.
Speaker 14 (02:29:24):
You know, McCaffrey helps you get into the playoffs. You're
feeling good, your team's there, and then all of a
sudden you realize, hey, wait a minute, you know they're
they're they're giving him extra rest. They don't want to
work him too hard. It's it's work close to the playoffs.
San Francisco, maybe a playoff team, So now they're lowering
the workload right at the time when you need it
(02:29:46):
the most. In the fantasy playoffs, those late weeks of
the season, the the the veteran back starts losing work
that time of year where the young guy, hey, you
know they're running the kid. It's say, on a non
playoff team, they're just what. They have no reason to
rest anyone. They're not worried about generally, probably not worried
(02:30:07):
about the although I don't know, maybe Atlanta's as the
whole other discussion, but can Atlanta make the playoff?
Speaker 2 (02:30:14):
But I mean that division is so bad. That's why
now I gotta believe the Saints are are are you know,
the favorite? And then you got Carolina and the Atlanta.
But because the Tampa's gonna be really bad. But I'm
with you. I look at that division is terrible.
Speaker 14 (02:30:33):
I mean, there's an outside chance. I think you're right
the Saints would be the prime competition there. But you know,
either way, I think this is one of those sneaky
moves that again you could eat. People will grow in
your lead. Oh what you know, you'll get the reactions.
I love the reactions. I love the reaction with what
you know, the shocking, the shocking move. You took Viijon
(02:30:56):
ahead of ahead of Saquon Barkley?
Speaker 6 (02:30:58):
Are you are you crazy?
Speaker 3 (02:31:00):
You know?
Speaker 2 (02:31:00):
And but yeah, yeah, wow, all right, do me a favorite.
Sit tight because I want to come back. We're gonna
take a quick commercial break. We're to come back with
you because I wanted some parting stuff to take into
the weekend. I love this man. Listen to gold Oh man,
the geek, give it this gold sid Siye. Fellas be
(02:31:23):
back in a moment right here, fock Sports Radio. All right,
welcome back. It's the Fellas from the tyrack dot com
studios and wrap up our conversation fantasy football. Yes, listen,
I made the question my man the geek. First of all, geek,
(02:31:46):
if people want to get a hold of you, and
you also have your own app, of course a geek
would have an app. It's the Sharp app which helps
with sports betting, fantasy football. You name it to gigs,
got it? How do people get all of you?
Speaker 14 (02:32:03):
Yeah, of course I'm on Twitter at f football geek.
You can always ask me a question. I love your
you know who do I start questions and all of that.
Speaker 2 (02:32:11):
So I'm on Twitter now you know you're in draft
mode stuff.
Speaker 14 (02:32:16):
Well when you're find Yeah, I'm putting out my content,
so all my breakdown videos. We're getting into fantasy football
now of course, and yeah, I'm.
Speaker 8 (02:32:23):
The Sharp PAP.
Speaker 14 (02:32:24):
We've got the Sharp app is the sports betting focused
with our specialty is really on the prop side and
our top props and proptimizer tool on the Sharp BAP.
There's nothing like it if you if you were into
player props that we have the best projection models really
in existence. So it's something we we'd love for people
to check out Sharp Baps or sharp dot app on
(02:32:45):
the web and yeah, find me there, and of course
on Twitter. I'm putting out content on YouTube all the time,
all these different places. So we're talking fantasy football, We're
talking bestball and all that great stuff.
Speaker 2 (02:32:57):
I love it, all right, So let's go. Let's continue
where we left off, all right, So got to hit me.
Speaker 14 (02:33:07):
Well, I was gonna say, so, there are two players
right now that are free agents that I actually wanted
to hit you, and I wanted to get some opinions
from you where they're going to land because I think
they're going to be really important potential pieces this season.
And at wide receiver, of course, we have DeAndre Hopkins
floating around.
Speaker 2 (02:33:24):
Well. The interesting thing there is not a lot of interest,
Like the Titans are interested, which actually makes sense because
they could really use it, use him, But it's bizarre
because none of the contenders are showing much interest. I
thought Kansas City would be a perfect landing spot for him.
(02:33:47):
I mean, it comes down the cat money contract and
that sort of thing.
Speaker 14 (02:33:51):
Yeah, I'm not sure how much he's asking or you know,
I can't expect him to get a ton of money,
but yeah, Kansas City seemed perfect for the Aperah Hopkins.
There's a few other teams though, there are definitely some
spots that lack wide receiver talent.
Speaker 2 (02:34:06):
So New England is number one, and so you know,
we'll see, you know, I mean he he meets with
New England, but there's no deal, so I don't know
what that means.
Speaker 14 (02:34:19):
Yeah, and that's right, and that's another I mean, they're
they're desperate. But maybe maybe Hopkins wants money. Maybe I
think we'll see as soon as training camp starts. Or
it's weird that teams are waiting.
Speaker 2 (02:34:29):
Well he well, he the beauty of him is he
goes well, there's no there's no hurry. It's not like
he's got to go to camp. So you know, there's
a think about it, right, God forbid, there's an injury
in the preseason, he comes right in, you know, or
I don't know. Stefan Diggs is Josh Allen. They have
a reparable damage, you know, who knows.
Speaker 14 (02:34:51):
I mean, the Bills need somebody to I think all
the contenders that the Bills, you know, listen gave the
Gabe Davis breakdown last season didn't really happen, so you know,
they could use another guy there as well. And the
other player that's sort of floating around is Dalvin Cook.
And you know, I think he might even I haven't
heard the rumors or anything, but even the Eagles could
(02:35:13):
use a guy like Dalvin Cook. I think that Miami.
What if he goes to Miami.
Speaker 2 (02:35:18):
So yeah, I see Miami more than the Eagles. They had.
They have a crowded, pretty crowded backfield. They got pantied
from Seattle. They traded for DeAndre Swift. You already got
game well, Boston Scott. I just don't know. Yeah, I
love Dalvin Cook, you know.
Speaker 14 (02:35:35):
Because I'm going to tell you something. I'm a little
worried about the Eagles running back situation because they throw
a lot of injury prone names out there, and and
and so I'm a little concerned about it. I do
think they should shore that up with one more piece,
So you know, Dalvin Cook might cost those I don't
(02:35:55):
know about it. It's if it's cooked, but I think
they probably want to shore that one up. This Penny
always gets hurt. He's just been hurt every year of
his career, I'll trust it. And Swift also has just
not been able to stay on the field so far
in his career, so I wouldn't want to have that
as the only saying. Of course, they got bost In Scott.
Speaker 2 (02:36:14):
And and.
Speaker 8 (02:36:17):
So Kenny Kenny Jays.
Speaker 12 (02:36:19):
I think I think he'll hold it down.
Speaker 2 (02:36:23):
They also watch out for a sleeper Tray Sermon, who
you remember from Ohio State, never really made it in
San Francisco, and Eagles got him on their practice squad
protected him. He's a guy that I think they want
to look at.
Speaker 14 (02:36:39):
Oh yeah, I like I mean, I liked him coming out.
I think he was a third round draft pick. So
that's pretty good draft capital for running back. And and
you know San Francisco they do a certain style that
doesn't fit doesn't suit all running back, like their style
of running does not suit everyone.
Speaker 2 (02:36:53):
No, I agree, all right, So I got about a
minute left, but we you know you're gonna you're gonna
be back with us. But just just for you know,
anything that people should start studying, like the key to
the off seas.
Speaker 14 (02:37:08):
Yeah, I think I think you want to. You want
to just understand a little bit what I talked about
about waiting on the quarterback position, looking at the young
up and coming players, avoiding So I'm big on the
land mines. I don't want to step on the land mines.
I'll give you some landmine names, like a Michael Pittman.
Why not, he's a breakout wide receiver. Yeah, you know
what Anthony Richards is going to throw like fifteen pass
(02:37:30):
of the game. Watch out for those Colts players in general.
I don't like that situation.
Speaker 2 (02:37:36):
There fonts of information. Listen, we got to get this
done again. So in a couple of weeks we've got
to give you back. Happy Father's Day, geek, We love
you man. Happy Father's dead. All you guys, we love you.
We'll see you later. Fellas are out.
