(00:48):
way tire buying should be. So I'm in Las Vegas
and something has occurred to me. While I'm out here
in Las Vegas. That wemby Victor Wembem Nyama. You know,
the guy who you know had an altercation with Britney
Spears because Apparently you can't just walk up and start
(01:10):
shouting in a British accent and grab somebody you don't
know on the arm when they've got security there and
expect to get away with it.
Speaker 3 (01:15):
Even if you're a celebrity.
Speaker 2 (01:17):
You know that guy seven to three, the next big thing,
you know him, Yeah, he's got virtually no shot.
Speaker 3 (01:28):
Virtually no shot.
Speaker 2 (01:31):
And let me tell you why, because it's been a
great cell and sometimes this happened. It's a great cell,
but not so great of a purchase. I can remember
trying to get my buddy in the good graces of
a female that he was very attracted to. He liked
her a lot, He wanted it to work out, He
(01:53):
wanted to be a part of her life. That was
you know, he was really really into her. And so
I thought, hey, you know what, I can make this happen.
See you know what I did. I started selling really hard,
and I started talking to her about how great a
guy he is and all the other things like this
and that, and I mean, I went, you would have
(02:14):
thought I was selling a car. And if I didn't
sell this car, I was going to lose my job
and my family was going to lose their home. I
was pushing hard, sell, sell, sell, and the problem was
it was working. And then the other problem was the
purchase was never going to match up to the cell.
(02:36):
And he actually pulled me aside and said, Okay, it's over.
It's too much. Now, it's too much because I can't
live up to that. Everything that you've presented, I can't
live up to it. Victor Webbin Yama's debut is being
looked at as a well.
Speaker 3 (02:52):
I mean there were some good things.
Speaker 2 (02:53):
He had five blocks, but kind of a disappointment, Like
people are looking at this guy as if it's almost
a disappointing debut. Keep in mind, you've got a sold
out Summer League game. I mean, people are paying hundreds
of dollars to go watch Summer League basketball. I mean,
(03:14):
I could have sworn that there were financial issues in
this country, but apparently people have one hundreds of dollars
to throw around to go see Wemby's first NBA Summer
League game.
Speaker 3 (03:24):
Apparently that's a thing.
Speaker 2 (03:27):
And I gotta be honest with you out here in Vegas,
the way some of the pricing works on some of
the items that I've seen and had to purchase, there's
no wonder more stuff's being built out here, and.
Speaker 3 (03:40):
It's not just because of gambling.
Speaker 2 (03:42):
There's a lot of things out here to buy, and
a lot of things are very expensive. And people are
blown hundreds of dollars to see his summer league debut.
Speaker 3 (03:51):
You've got all the buzz.
Speaker 2 (03:52):
There is buzz around town, no doubt about it. It's
on all the TVs. It's like part of the discussions.
I have a buddy who was a longtime San Antonio
Spurs fan, and he happens to be out here with me,
and he probably hasn't watched two minutes of Spurs basketball
in maybe twelve years, and now he's got he's all
(04:16):
into it again. He's got Spurs fever. He's back into
it now. So there is a buzz, and you've got
special coverage, like they're bringing in special analysts to break
down Wenby's first summer league debut.
Speaker 3 (04:29):
Blob. I mean it's all.
Speaker 2 (04:31):
I mean, it's through the roof, the coverage, the buzz,
the pricing, all of it through the roof. And people
are looking at his debut as like, wow, it's kind
of a disappointment. You know, we expected more.
Speaker 3 (04:43):
He's nineteen.
Speaker 2 (04:47):
He was born in two thousand and four, Like, what
were you doing at nineteen?
Speaker 3 (04:55):
I'll go first.
Speaker 2 (04:57):
I was a daytime bus boy at a Mexican restaurant
called Cisco's Not Lying. Look it up, Westlake Village, California.
And the only reason I got the job of bussing
tables at nineteen years old is because my brother was
managing the place and the job entailed me dressing up
(05:22):
in a Hawaiian shirt and white jeans, which is a
brilliant idea fashion wise, when you've got to hand out
a bunch of chips and sauce all day, let me
tell you great idea.
Speaker 3 (05:32):
Walking around in a Hawaiian shirt.
Speaker 2 (05:35):
I got at a thrift store because I was broke,
white jeans that I believe were Anchor blue jeans from
the old Miller's out post back in the day, if
anybody remembers that department store. And I lasted there about
two months and my own brother fired me. That's where
(05:55):
I was at nineteen years old. This guy is selling
out Summer League games, getting special coverage. He's being talked
about as the next great thing. He's being compared to
some of the all time greats. Ever, we're talking about
best highlight video ever, et cetera, et.
Speaker 3 (06:14):
Cetera, et cetera.
Speaker 2 (06:15):
The hype is through the moon for Victor Webbin Yama,
and people are looking at it like, well, you know,
it's kind of.
Speaker 3 (06:22):
A disappointing debut. You know, it's kind of a list.
Speaker 2 (06:26):
We were expecting more from from Wemby, you know, I
mean got he only scored nine points. I think there
was like an over under that was out on his
point total. Since we're here in Vegas, I think I
saw twelve and a half. And I'm not saying that
I'm an expert gambler. Anybody that listens to this show
knows what an awful gambler I am. But I bet
the under just because of this, Like, the guy is
(06:52):
expected to be all of this and then some, and
he's got no chance to live up to it. He's
got virtually no chance. And it's not because of him.
All he does is go out and play. And the
argument against it would be, well, this comes with the
expectations and this is the way this stuff works. And
(07:13):
you know, welcome to the professional sports and welcome to
the NBA. It's been a long ass time since we've
seen this. And by the way. I think part of
the issue is the NBA kind of needs a little
bit of help here. They can dispute that, and NBA
fanboys can dispute it all they want, but the NBA
is really trying hard to find some stuff for people
(07:36):
to latch onto. If you don't think so, they've got
an in the season tournament now if you don't think so.
Now they're pedalizing players who flop. They're trying some stuff
because they realize, yeah, we're kind of at a point
to where the NFL and college football are so far
gone outside of where we can see that we got
(07:59):
to come up with something. And so everything's been thrown
onto this guy's lap, and he's supposed.
Speaker 3 (08:05):
To deliver the goods. And he delivers a nine.
Speaker 2 (08:08):
Point debut in his summer league appearance, and everybody.
Speaker 3 (08:11):
Looks at it and goes, oh, God, we expected more.
Speaker 2 (08:14):
He's nineteen, but he's expected to carry the mantle for
a league that's trying to find its footing in a
competitive marketplace in a battle they're losing, and all the
hype around him that you could possibly want, and it
just goes back to the original point. Sometimes the cell
(08:38):
is way greater than the purchase, and he could go
on to have a very good career, and he's going
to be looked at, much like his NBA Summer League
debut as kind of a disappointment because he didn't live
up to everybody else's expectations.
Speaker 3 (08:56):
The guy's nineteen years old.
Speaker 2 (08:57):
I don't care if he comes out his next time
outs three points. It doesn't change the fact that there
are realities to the situation. He's two years away from
being able to buy a beer, he's six years away
from being able to rent a car. Yet he's expected
to be the next best thing that we've seen since
Lebron James and everybody else that comes along the line
(09:20):
that we all look at and hype up and over
sell that end up maybe not delivering because the expectations
for them were stuff that we set in motion that
they were never gonna live up to.
Speaker 3 (09:33):
So odd pulling form.
Speaker 2 (09:34):
I hope it works out well, But the problem is
my expectations and where a lot of people's are are
in two different places. The cell is great, the purchase
may not be. Jonas Knox Fox Sports Radio You Can
hang out with Us again is always on the iHeartRadio app.
So We're gonna have the usuals coming up later on.
(09:54):
We're gonna have another edition of do You Care. That's
always a fun one because you know, people like to
be positive on well, that's a lie. People like to
be negative on sports talk radio. So we put a
little bit of a twist on it. Are We throw
a little bit of a twist. So that's coming up
later on this hour. We're also going to have another
edition of the Scraps coming up before we close up
shop an hour two again, all of it a two
hour extravaganza here as we have some fun in a July,
(10:18):
a hot July here in Las Vegas, and a fun
July hopefully for a lot of you out there as
things start to heat up around the country. We got NFL,
we got NBA, all sorts of fun stuff here for
the next couple of hours here from the tiraq dot
Com studios.
Speaker 3 (10:31):
But there is somebody in the.
Speaker 2 (10:33):
NFL that if you just took a step back, you
would be surprised how much you would actually root for them.
Speaker 3 (10:43):
And I'll tell you who that is.
Speaker 2 (10:44):
Next, the official odd Couple side piece, Jonas Knox Fox
Sports Radio, coming up in We'll call it a little
over ten minutes from now. There's something I didn't even
think about years and years ago, and maybe you didn't
think about it years and years ago, but it's become
very obvious. It's become painfully obvious to me. And we'll
(11:05):
get into that for you coming up again a little
over ten minutes from now from the tirack dot com studios.
So I remember this weird thing happening where all of
a sudden people started rooting for Tiger Woods again, Remember that,
like that was like a like a weird thing. Because
I don't know if anybody recalls this, but Tiger Woods
had a little bit of an issue, and by a
(11:27):
little bit of an issue.
Speaker 3 (11:29):
And by the way, this ties into the NFL.
Speaker 2 (11:31):
I don't want you to think we're talking golf here,
not trying to chase people away.
Speaker 3 (11:34):
Just trust me, stick around.
Speaker 2 (11:35):
But point is, you know, he had a little bit
of an issue, you know, popped up in his personal life.
Speaker 3 (11:42):
It's tiger and uh, Tiger Woods.
Speaker 2 (11:45):
Uh, Mike Harman joining us here via comrax Field taff
and Tiger Woods.
Speaker 3 (11:49):
Thank you, Mike.
Speaker 2 (11:50):
Uh. You know, like apparently left his phone on, you know,
the missus got into his phone and the next thing
you know. You know, some people wake up via alarm clock.
Some people wake up and immediately pound some water. Some
people wake up they go on a jog or they
work out. Some people wake up and listen they want
to have a cigarette. And then some people wake up
(12:12):
with a Calloway nine iron to the bridge of their nose.
And that was Tiger Woods. That's how he woke up.
And I'm not quite sure if that's the ideal way
to wake up. I've never experienced that, but I'm going
to go out on a limit, say probably not. Maybe
a cup of coffee maybe that works better, just speaking
from personal experience. But the point is Tiger Woods went
(12:32):
through some issues, and all of a sudden, when all
the dirt started to come out, you had a lot
of people who just were not into Tiger Woods. I
mean we're talking sponsors, alienating and all like everything they
came along with it. A lot of people were not
into Tiger Woods. And then he starts making a run
of the Masters a couple of years ago, and all
(12:52):
of a sudden, the love is back. It's almost like
for a second you forgave him, and so many people
forgave him for all the things that had happened in
the past, rooting against him, wanting to see him fail,
all that stuff, and now you realized in this moment, damn,
that's just one of the all time greats doing his thing,
and you were hoping.
Speaker 3 (13:13):
It was going to work out.
Speaker 2 (13:14):
There was I mean, it was hard to find anybody
that was rooting against Tiger.
Speaker 3 (13:19):
I mean there were some.
Speaker 2 (13:20):
I mean, listen, there's a lot of a lot of
wives out there not big fans of Tiger Woods. And
I get it, listen, I get it. But you found
yourself what was rooting for the guy in this god,
you know, one last time, do it, one last time,
one of the all time greats, just showing what he's
capable of one last time. And I say that because
(13:40):
it reminds me personally of how I'm starting to feel
about Bill Belichick. So Bill Belichick finds himself in this
kind of an odd spot to where they're on, you know,
the worst run that he's been on as head coach
of the New England Patriots, and it just happens to
coincide with the fact that Tom Brady left New England
(14:04):
and that Tom Brady went on to Tampa Bay and
that Tom Brady won a Super Bowl in Tampa Bay
and all the other stuff that goes along with it.
And so I'm seeing just sort of the conversation about
Belichick change a little bit, and I'm seeing how people
are starting to whisper could he be on the hot seat?
(14:24):
You know, Robert Kraft was recently they were talking about,
you know, Belichick mentioned the amount of money they spend
and talked about, well, you know, we're bottom five, you know,
in spending in a three year period on average, and
just sort of pointing this stuff out at the end
of the season, and some people thought that that was
taking a shot at the organization from maybe being cheap.
(14:45):
And then Robert Kraft came out via Greg Bodard, who's
been covering the NFL and the Patriots for a long time,
and basically said, that's never going to be the issue.
Spending's never going to be the problem, and the second
it is, I will sell the team. And so the
conversation and the whispers have gotten louder. He can't do
it without Brady. It's obvious. We've got multiple years of evidence,
(15:08):
the stuff with the offensive coordinator after Josh McDaniels left,
whether it was Matt Patricia or Joe Judge, the quarterback
fiasco last year where it was Mac Jones, but then
it was gonna be Bailey z Appy. But then Bill
Belichick got upset because Mac Jones was talking with Alabama
personnel about the offense and Belichick didn't like that, And
(15:29):
like just sort of all of that stuff that's happening,
the noise whatever, you think, the hot seat looks like
it's at least getting a little bit warmer from the
standpoint of the end may be near, you know, like
maybe maybe we've seen.
Speaker 3 (15:45):
Better days and the end might be near.
Speaker 2 (15:49):
And I can't help but find myself really hoping things
go well for Bill Belichick. And here's why he's been
villainized by a lot of people. And he's been talked
about and the and the conversations have been loud about, well,
you know, Belichick can't do it without Brady. But even
before that, Belichick in Cleveland, you know, that didn't work
(16:09):
out well. And then he got to New England and
the Patriot Way was all crap, and it was like
all of this stuff that was going on, and then
you've heard all these conversations about, well, the only reason
players would go there and take less money is because
of Tom Brady. Had nothing to do with Bill Belichick.
The Patriot Way was Tom Brady. And then you see
these reports pop up where DeAndre Hopkins the Patriots have
(16:32):
kind of, you know, dipped their toe in the water there.
You've heard about Dalvin Cook, apparently Dalvin Cook and the Patriots.
That's been something that is that has been rumored about,
and it just you find yourself asking the question, if
it's so bad there, if the Patriot Way is gone,
why would those guys be entertaining the idea of going
(16:54):
into England, And whether it means that they've got to
pay a little bit more than some other play than
somebody else to land those guys whatever. But I find
myself looking at both of those situations and thinking, dude,
you know what I'd actually like to see DeAndre Hopkins
in New England And you know what I'd actually like
to see Dalvin Cook in New England. From personnel's standpoint,
(17:17):
it's hard to argue with the fact that if you're
looking at just the AFC East from a talent standpoint
and personnel standpoint, the Patriots are dead last. And that's
not to dismiss or discredit or be disrespectful to anybody
on the Patriots roster.
Speaker 3 (17:33):
They do have good players.
Speaker 2 (17:34):
Matthew Judon has been a fantastic signing for New England.
He's been fantastic. But I think you would agree if
you're going to look at, you know, the quarterbacks in
that division, Mac Jones is probably fourth. If you're going
to look at the personnel, the Patriots are fourth. And
if you've got the fourth best roster and the fourth
best quarterback in your division, chances are you the fourth
(17:55):
best team. And if you're the fourth best team, chances
are you're not making the playoffs. So from a personnel standpoint,
the Patriots could use something like this. They could use
a Dalvin Cook, a DeAndre Hopkins, somebody to get in
on that roster that would improve their chances in that division.
(18:17):
But I also think just from the standpoint of where
Belichick's at and the narrative around Belichick and how so
many people are reveling in the fact that the Patriots
aren't the same without Tom Brady, when I look at
this whole situation, I go, I hope.
Speaker 3 (18:34):
Both those guys sign in New England.
Speaker 2 (18:36):
I hope Belichick finds a way to pull this out
of as you know what and says, you know what,
I think I'm going to try and land too. Pro
Bowl slash all pro players who still have some tread
on the tires. Yes they're older, Yes the running back
position is banged up. I get all that. But if
I'm Belichick, He's going to try as hard as he
(18:57):
can to land these guys. And I think it changes
a lot of narratives out there. Does it change the
order of finish in the AFC East? Probably not. I
don't know that I would put them ahead of Miami
or the Jets or even the Bills at this point,
even with those two guys. But just from a standpoint
of I find myself rooting for Belichick because so many
(19:17):
people are reveling in his demise. It's kind of like
Tiger the Masters, that final round. You're going, like, you
know what, for right now? All is forgiven. Like I
get all the stuff that I hear about Tiger Woods,
and I get all the stuff I hear about Bill
Belichick and how it's over and he can't do it
without Brady. But I find myself rooting for him. I
find myself hoping that he lands these two players in
(19:39):
free agency. I find myself hoping that the Patriots have
a better year, and that's something good comes out of
whatever this year is for New England and whatever the
rest of this time is for Belichick in New England,
because I think there's a lot of people who are
looking at the situation and they've already written it off.
Speaker 3 (19:57):
It's over.
Speaker 2 (19:58):
Tom Brady won the battle, he went on and won
a Super Bowl. He did it without Belichick, even though
both those guys dismissed that notion and the competitiveness behind it.
There's a lot of conversation about what Belichick is post
Brady and who Belichick can bring in post Brady, and
that Belichick's being exposed. And I look at it and
I go, dude, sign these two Pro bowlers. Add a
(20:22):
little bit of talent to your roster, make things a
little bit more interesting.
Speaker 3 (20:26):
And I'll be rooting for the Patriots this upcoming season.
Speaker 2 (20:28):
I might be in the minority, but I hope it
happens just so Belichick can shut some people off that
have already written him off over the past couple of years.
Jonas Knox, Fox Sports Radio, Get me on Twitter, at
the Jonas Knox at the Jonas Knox on Twitter, and
you can hang out with us.
Speaker 3 (20:42):
As always on the iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 2 (20:45):
All right, So coming up, we are going to talk
about just a realization that I don't know if a
lot of people are on the same path as me,
but I have realized this over the last twenty four hours.
So we're going to get to that coming up here momentarily.
But for all the latest from around the world, sports
ladies and gentlemen. Oh no, Moncy, I thought you had
(21:07):
to set up.
Speaker 4 (21:11):
I tried.
Speaker 2 (21:13):
I tried.
Speaker 3 (21:14):
Can we get a redo?
Speaker 4 (21:15):
I thought you were gonna explain him better?
Speaker 3 (21:19):
Can we get a redo?
Speaker 5 (21:21):
All right?
Speaker 2 (21:21):
So where the part where it leads in and goes
nothing can stop us tonight and then write at that,
you know, like right, and then I'll say, right, it's monsy.
Speaker 3 (21:38):
Take you is take two?
Speaker 4 (21:43):
Thanks Alex.
Speaker 3 (21:44):
That's a right.
Speaker 2 (21:45):
We'll clean that up on the podcast. It's called Radio Magic.
We're not fraud you are.
Speaker 3 (21:50):
We tried.
Speaker 4 (21:51):
I tried. I tried, But I really thought you were
also going to talk to.
Speaker 6 (21:54):
Him and be like it's like this, it's my fault whatever,
because you were the most of the show it is
called the Jonas Knock Show.
Speaker 2 (22:00):
Is yeah, but I'm so but I know that you
know you would already, you know, let everybody know. Hey,
listen here, all right, listen now that now that MONSI,
you know what, is hosting as well to on the network.
Now she just sort of like throws throws her size
five shoes onto the door. She pushes six okay, size
six shoes, pushes it open and they're probably air Jordan's too, uh,
(22:23):
pushes it open and says, I got a theme song
and it better be played or else.
Speaker 3 (22:27):
So there's gonna be blood drawn in the studio. That's
what I hear.
Speaker 6 (22:30):
That's yeah, I mean it almost went that way almost.
Speaker 4 (22:33):
But I don't know what day it is, Jonas, I
I saw you yesterday. Did we work yesterday?
Speaker 3 (22:39):
I think?
Speaker 2 (22:39):
So?
Speaker 3 (22:39):
What days?
Speaker 6 (22:40):
Today? Saturday, Saturday? I don't know what day it is.
Speaker 3 (22:43):
You know, by the way, you're probably not up to
speed on this, Mancy. I'll help you out. I'll put
you up on a little bit of game. It's called Sabado.
Speaker 4 (22:51):
Did you watch long Hiante?
Speaker 2 (22:53):
I don't even know what he just said, but you
know what, let's why don't you not why don't you
skirt past the fact that I just said Saturday.
Speaker 4 (23:00):
In Spanish, it was barely Saturday.
Speaker 2 (23:04):
Yeah that too, that too, you know tomorrow's Domingo no mingo.
Speaker 4 (23:11):
You can say that one like the Yankee pitcher no
mingo her Martin.
Speaker 3 (23:15):
Yeah, the guy threw the perfect game exactly.
Speaker 2 (23:18):
You know.
Speaker 3 (23:18):
My my favorite part about that story.
Speaker 2 (23:20):
I love how everybody's celebrating his perfect game, and two
months earlier he was ejected for having a foreign substance
on his hands.
Speaker 4 (23:27):
I mean, if that's not like a baller, then I
don't know what it is.
Speaker 2 (23:30):
It's crazy. It's like, you know what they said, Yeah,
you know what. Nobody's talking about anything other than show
he Otani. Hey, yeah, Domingo, go ahead and put that
radiator fluid back on your palm.
Speaker 3 (23:40):
You can use it for this game only. And it's
in Oakland. We need somebody to come to the game, right.
Speaker 4 (23:44):
Right, And that was anyone even at the game. I
probably probably not so No, I loved it.
Speaker 6 (23:49):
I love that he was just suspended and then it
came back and was like, I'm gonna throw a perfect game.
Speaker 4 (23:54):
Take that.
Speaker 6 (23:54):
Take that all of you guys are not paying attention
to the Yankees. But we should be right now because
they're actually winning in the Bronx against the Cubs.
Speaker 4 (24:02):
Five to one.
Speaker 6 (24:02):
Is the score they just scored again. It's the bottom
of the fifth inning. The Ools and the Twins are
tied at one apiece. Top of the second inning, and
the Cardinals have scored first against the White Sox one zero,
top of the second as well. But did you see
that yesterday the Cubs beat the Yankees for the first
time at Yankee Stadium.
Speaker 3 (24:20):
Oh yeah, well look you know what.
Speaker 4 (24:22):
No, the Cubs are the second oldest team.
Speaker 3 (24:25):
Yeah, but they don't play a lot at Yankees.
Speaker 4 (24:26):
Right, no, no, right, that does matter. Yes, yes, yes,
that is correct.
Speaker 6 (24:29):
You're right, But still isn't that nineteen fourteen is when
Bridleyfield open.
Speaker 2 (24:35):
All right, let me tell you, like you can do
a lot of stuff with fun facts.
Speaker 4 (24:38):
All right, so take this away from us, johonnay.
Speaker 2 (24:41):
So, but like this but this is this is my
point is that like so, this this is how I
operate good. So like when I talk to people, I
go between LeVar Arrington and myself. We have three Pro
Pro Bowls. That's that's true. Now he's got all three.
But if I just lump myself if I barnacle myself onto
the ss LeVar. I've got three Pro bowls with LeVar.
(25:04):
But that's how that works. It's a fun fact.
Speaker 4 (25:06):
Sure, sure, no, no, this is this is funner than
that one.
Speaker 3 (25:10):
Okay, some would dispute that.
Speaker 4 (25:13):
Only Jonas Knox would dispute that.
Speaker 2 (25:15):
You know what, bromonts, why don't you embrace debate? Okay,
I am embracing debate.
Speaker 6 (25:19):
Okay, shut up, shut up outam Shank is winning at.
Speaker 4 (25:22):
The John Deer Classic.
Speaker 6 (25:23):
He's actually tied with Cameron Young through at the top
of the leaderboard, fourteen under par. And then let's talk
a little a little bit of Wimbledon, because Carlos Akras
he's he's the top seeded, he's world number one.
Speaker 4 (25:35):
Moving on, but have you heard about Chrisubanks?
Speaker 3 (25:37):
It's a joke. Wait, have tennis faces it's a joke.
Speaker 4 (25:42):
Okay, but have you heard of Chris Eubanks? Probably not Jonas.
Speaker 3 (25:46):
This is a boxer right now.
Speaker 6 (25:48):
This is a twenty seven year old American that nobody
has really talked about because he has not had a
breakthrough in tennis. He's still alive. He is literally defined
all odds. He's headed to the fourth round. He beat
today Christopher O'Connell of Australia in straight sets. Francis Tioffo
last night checked he lost his first two sets in
his third round match, so he's already on the struggle.
(26:09):
And let's just talk about real quick. Meghan Rappino, US
soccer star legend. She's going to retire at the end
of the twenty twenty three soccer season.
Speaker 4 (26:17):
She is going to.
Speaker 6 (26:18):
Compete in her fourth Women's World Cup. That's whet of
kicks off on July twenty eighth. Back to Jonas Knox.
Speaker 2 (26:25):
Hey, by the way, I would like to also say
Chris Eubank was a boxer. I really can't fund that out, Okay,
I'm just saying so, like if if people were wondering
if I'm just being disrespectful as saying, oh, that's a boxer. No,
there really was a boxer and his name was Chris Eubank.
Speaker 4 (26:38):
Oh I didn't you bank? Yeah one bank.
Speaker 3 (26:41):
This bass.
Speaker 4 (26:41):
This is what'sible. Yes, I got you yeah yeah yeah,
but good to know I didn't know.
Speaker 2 (26:45):
Listen, Hey, we're just filling people in here, you know,
like this is like this is the the hotbed of
sports talk radio in July. All right, so this is
what we do here as we gear up for another
NFL season. So I was thinking about this Montiana. Know,
if you're on the same page as me. By the way,
if you want some positivity in your life, don't worry
about it.
Speaker 3 (27:04):
Do you care?
Speaker 2 (27:05):
Is coming up here in about twelve minutes from now.
But I don't know if you're like me. But I
never realized that's that's true, and nobody is. The more
I walk around in public, just I realized I'm weird.
Speaker 3 (27:18):
It just is what it is.
Speaker 2 (27:19):
But I've just sort of come to the realization that
things that I was that I just accepted and never
thought about when I was younger, all of a sudden
are an issue.
Speaker 3 (27:32):
And I don't know if I'm just more aware.
Speaker 2 (27:34):
So like, for example, I never realized how much cigarette
smoke bothered me. Yeah, dude, Will like walked in to
check into my room. Yeah, and it was I got
to go outside.
Speaker 3 (27:49):
I like it is. It's everywhere.
Speaker 6 (27:52):
It is everywhere. I just came back from Vegas on Thursday.
You know exactly what you're talking about.
Speaker 2 (27:58):
Like, my eyes are like like kind of burning, they
feel dry, like my throat's.
Speaker 3 (28:02):
A little like weird.
Speaker 2 (28:04):
It's like you don't and for some reason, when you're
younger and you're twenty one and you're just walking around
with like a pint of liver loop and you're like, hey,
let's go to the pool, and you're wearing like a
floaty around your waist and it's like you were in
like scuba gear that you bought at the gift shop
that you didn't want, but you just had twenty bucks
on you and so that'd be a great purchase and
you were half in the bag. You walk right through
that cigarette smoke, no problem, and it's like, oh what,
(28:25):
like you're on the set of Backdraft, like yeah, whatever,
Like we don't need a mask. Let's go pull whoever
out of a fire right. You walk through Vegas now,
and I don't I don't know if it's just because
we're older, I don't know, or maybe just that smoking
isn't commonly had around our parts, but it's weird.
Speaker 6 (28:43):
I think it's that we don't experience it a lot
out here, and so when it's in our face, it's like, man,
that's it's intense. I came back sneezy for like twenty
four hours. I couldn't get rid of it, and I
had to be the smoke.
Speaker 2 (28:56):
And it's not for people out there that still walk
around the lung dart God bless you. Like I'm not
I'm not trying to to, you know, criticize anybody that
still smokes. I understand that. Look, my dad smoked for
a long.
Speaker 4 (29:09):
Time at one point in his life.
Speaker 2 (29:11):
Yeah, and so you know you, like I was talking
about this with Iowa Sam, it almost feels like that
cigarette smokers get the side eye that potheads used to get.
Speaker 3 (29:19):
Now, yes, it's.
Speaker 2 (29:21):
Like if somebody smokes weed, it's almost like, okay, hey man,
you know what you're onto something and I'll bet you
have no joint pain, right, and like you see you
see somebody with a heater, and it's almost like you yea.
And back in the day, they used to give people
smoke breaks, like there used to be a smoking section
and then but yeah, you walk around it now and
I just I didn't realize how much it bothered me
(29:44):
back in the day, and now I walk around, I go,
oh my god, I got to like get outside.
Speaker 3 (29:48):
I can't.
Speaker 2 (29:49):
It's just so it's not trying to be critical, Hey, listen,
everybody's got something they're into that's not healthy. I've seen
a lot of people shove a lot of bad fast
food in their face out of here, all right. I
see a lot of things that are sold and people
take in. I've never smoked a cigarette in my life, neither,
but there are a lot of people. Yeah. See we're
like rarefied air. Yeah, but now it's for some reason.
(30:12):
I just I had no clue how bad it affected me.
And now it's a thing.
Speaker 4 (30:15):
We're just babies.
Speaker 3 (30:17):
Yeah, there's that too.
Speaker 4 (30:18):
We're just babies.
Speaker 3 (30:19):
Soft.
Speaker 2 (30:21):
Yeah, we're just soft. We are softer generation. So let's
go to go back to the good old days where
you could, you know, send a kid in to buy
a cart and a cigarettes and then nobody, nobody gave
you a weird look.
Speaker 4 (30:32):
My dad used to smoke Marlborough. Was that still around?
Speaker 3 (30:35):
I think so.
Speaker 6 (30:36):
And then they used to used to collect the little
things on the side of the carton and then tournament
for points Marlborough points.
Speaker 4 (30:42):
And then you would get stuff. I remember, like I
had a sleeping bag. That was that and that was
like this, Yes it's a sleeping bag. I mean, listen,
back to day, it was it was cool. It was
it was the cool thing to do.
Speaker 2 (30:56):
Yeah, and they like they tricked you and said, you know,
you're one hundred point. It's a way you can get
it if you buy five more cartons and you do it,
and next thing, you know, some kids shows up with, like,
you know, a Joe Camel lunch.
Speaker 3 (31:07):
Box exactly at school. Hey, where'd that come from?
Speaker 1 (31:11):
What do you think?
Speaker 3 (31:12):
It's?
Speaker 2 (31:13):
Yeah, it's pretty wild, man, But uh so, there it is.
That's the that's the realization that has just come to
me since I've been out here in Vegas the last
twenty four hours. So it's good to have some company here.
It is two It is not two pros.
Speaker 3 (31:25):
And a couple of Jesus. What am I doing? Question A?
Sorry about that. It's a Jonas Knox show here on

you why they don't.
Speaker 3 (31:54):
It's another edition of Do You Care Next.
Speaker 1 (31:56):

more about the stories about what made these people love
their sport and all the interesting interactions along the way.
We talked to coaches, we talked to players, We tell
you stories.

Speaker 2 (32:39):
Oh yeah, so we're talking about Jonas Knox Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 3 (32:48):
This how you know?
Speaker 2 (32:49):
Alex Tyshirt is running the show here filling in for
Iowa Sam, who's back at the fourteenth annual Waterloo Horseshoe Tournament.
Jesus Guy's taking four vacations. He was just an Istanbul
(33:10):
like two weeks ago. Now he's in cedar rapids, cow tipping.
Come on, dude, all right, So coming up top of
X hour here, I might have made all that up
by the way, coming up top of XT hour here,
a little over ten minutes from now, we are going
to talk about Listen, somebody in sports they want two things,
but the problem is they may only get one. All right,
(33:31):
So we'll tell you what that is here from the
tairaq dot com studios. But right now it's time for
a little something we do on the show every single week,
and it's called this.
Speaker 1 (33:41):
There are so many stories in the world of sports,
and most of them are a complete waste.
Speaker 3 (33:46):
Of time DMG reports. Let's get kinky.
Speaker 1 (33:49):
Here's some of the big stories from the last week.
But Jonas, the real question is do you care?
Speaker 2 (33:56):
And for that we turn it over to our executive
producer Benson to find out what the hell people have
been talking about all week long. Bo.
Speaker 8 (34:03):
You know, I'm glad you said something, because I was
wondering why today has been relatively stress free, and then
I realized it's because Sam isn't here.
Speaker 3 (34:08):
So that's good, am I crazy? The guys like this
is how many vacations in last year?
Speaker 8 (34:13):
He's here? Less than he's out of town. It's crazy
Jesus dude.
Speaker 2 (34:17):
Like he's like, he's all, I'm not gonna be here,
I'm going uh like he was in Europe two weeks ago.
Speaker 3 (34:23):
He's like, what are we doing here?
Speaker 8 (34:24):
Yeah? You know that costs money, and you know I've
seen I've seen our paychecks. So I want to know
what Sam's doing on the side to uh to do
all that.
Speaker 2 (34:32):
Well, you haven't seen that that Rolls Royce tractor he
went around in in Iowa.
Speaker 3 (34:36):
You haven't seen that before.
Speaker 2 (34:37):
You know that that BMW John Deere he's got in Iowa.
Speaker 8 (34:41):
It's a different life out there.
Speaker 2 (34:42):
He's got He's got a gold silo in the middle
of in the middle of a crop circle, and that's
how people know that Iowa.
Speaker 8 (34:48):
Sam's back in town. So he operates so Jonas. Today
marks the thirteenth anniversary of Lebron James and the decision
leaving the Cavaliers to join the Miami Heat. Do you care, no, give.
Speaker 2 (35:01):
Us listen unless there are still Calves fans who are still.
Speaker 3 (35:05):
Bitter about it.
Speaker 2 (35:06):
Because even if he did come back and win a championship,
there's gotta be one or two. There's gotta be one
or two that are still so distraught by the way
that he embarrassed them that they just wouldn't go. They
were so stubborn and they held their ground and held firm.
There's gotta be one or two, you know. There's some defectors,
all right, some defectors that went along for the ride
(35:28):
when he came back. Much like look, I believe there
were some defectors that followed the Browns to Baltimore and
became a Ravens fan. And then there were the others
that stood there ground, like that guy that was wearing
the dog mask who was crying in court. He was
part of the dog pound. You imagine being forty five
fifty years old and to make your plea to keep
your favorite thing in town, you wear you are the
(35:50):
mask of a bowl mast iff, like you dress up
like like the dead dog off Turner and Hooch and
show up in court and say, could you.
Speaker 3 (35:57):
Please bring my team back?
Speaker 2 (35:58):
Like there were some people that held And I wonder
if the same thing exists for those people with the decision.
Speaker 3 (36:03):
But other than that, no, I don't care.
Speaker 8 (36:04):
Next, US women's national team star Megan Rapino announced that
she will retire following the twenty twenty three season. Do
you care?
Speaker 3 (36:13):
Nope, I don't give it.
Speaker 8 (36:16):
Next, former Saints and Alabama running back mark Ingram will
join Fox on Big Noon Kickoff as an analyst. Do
you care about that at all?
Speaker 2 (36:26):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (36:26):
I do?
Speaker 2 (36:26):
You know what I this is gonna be. Oh man,
you just work with a bunch of hooligans. That's what
the radio broadcasting life is like. You just work with
a bunch of hooligans. But I actually think mark Ingram
(36:48):
is going to be a great addition. And I'm not
saying this because I may or may not work with
somebody who works on Big Noon Kickoff or maybe good
friends with somebody who works on that show. But again,
enough about Matt Lioner. But the point is I look
at it and I go mark Ingram, great personality, dude.
He's got the credentials, like he's been to Pro Bowls,
(37:09):
he was a Heisman Trophy winner, played a long time,
Like he's got a family background in the NFL, Like
he's got the credentials there to talk football.
Speaker 3 (37:17):
And I'm curious to see how it turns out.
Speaker 8 (37:19):
Next, former Bengals running back Corey Dillon ripped the team's
selection process for his Ring of Honor, taking some umbrage
with the fact that the fans get to play a
role in choosing who's honored by the team. Do you
care about this at all?
Speaker 2 (37:31):
Yes, I do. You know what's so great about it?
The guy's final game with the Cincinnati Bengals, he threw
his shoulder pads into the crowd. He at one point
told them that he'd rather be flipping burgers than playing
for the team. He goes to New England, wins a
Super Bowl, and then all these years later, goes, but
why am I.
Speaker 3 (37:51):
Not in the Ring of Honor?
Speaker 2 (37:54):
It's like it's like burning someone's house down, they rebuild
it and saying, oh, you didn't invite me over what
did I do? Like Corey Dillon burned his own house
down and then looked around after they rebuild it and said, well, well,
how come my stuff's out here? Dude, like you threw
(38:15):
your shoulder pads into the crowd as you walked off again,
epic performance. You'd rather be flipping burgers than than than
playing for the team.
Speaker 3 (38:24):
All of that.
Speaker 2 (38:25):
Warned at the time, Look, Carson Palmer did the same thing.
But you know, look, I mean the season ticket holders
vote on this stuff, so maybe they still got a
red ass about it.
Speaker 8 (38:32):
Next you think we'll be doing this story in about
twenty years for uh Antonio Brown in the Buccaneers Ring
of Honor.
Speaker 3 (38:38):
Or what oh god?
Speaker 2 (38:39):
Can you imagine like if the twists and turns that
that his life has taken over the past five years,
like the fact that, first of all, the fact that
he hasn't gotten a sponsorship with like a cryotherapy chamber somewhere, yeah,
after he burned his feet off and one like that's
the move and for some reason, I don't know why
he hasn't he hasn't jumped at that.
Speaker 3 (38:56):
Yeah, that's makes no sense.
Speaker 8 (38:57):
So Mavericks started Luka Donce she got engaged this weekend
to his longtime girlfriend in Slovenia. Nothing about his weight
and pictures that were taken. So that's good. But do
you care about the story at all?
Speaker 3 (39:09):
Not really?
Speaker 2 (39:09):
I mean I'd like to say so, like Luca strikes
me as the type of guy who would have a
beer at ten forty five and look at in the morning.
So he like Luca's like, because everybody has one of
those friends in their life, and Lucas strikes me as
the type of friend in your life to where you
guys are just kind of sitting around. It's a weekday,
(39:30):
like a Tuesday, and at ten forty five he cracks
open a michelob and then gives you the look like
you're weird, like, oh, oh, I've got the problem. Why
aren't you, dude? It's ten forty five. Yeah, well back
in Slovenia, it's already Friday happy hour? So what do
you want from me? The time change kills me sometimes
sue me. You know, sometimes as much as you want
(39:52):
two things, the fact of the matter is you may
only get one of them. We'll get into that coming
up here in just a couple of moments.
Speaker 3 (39:59):
From now.
Speaker 2 (40:00):

free roadazer protection at over ten thousand recommended installers tire
rac dot com. The way tire buying should be So
there are sometimes where and I don't know if you
want to call it greedy, but sometimes you want multiple
things and the fact of the matter is you can
(40:45):
only have one. You know, what's the old adage? You
want your cake and eat it too? Whatever that dumb
quote is from back.
Speaker 3 (40:50):
In the day.
Speaker 2 (40:51):
It's just dumb. I don't even get it. Everything about
that one. You want your cake and eat it too?
What are you supposed to do with it? Put it
in the windowsill and feed flies? Isn't that the point?
Like it's like like wedding cakes every anniversary. You break
it out of the freezer and take a bite out
(41:12):
of it. I threw mine away. What are we doing here?
Why'd you throw it away? It's been in there a year. Yeah,
that's the point. What's the point? You want food that's
gonna sit in there for a year? What are we
Jeffrey Dahmer, Like you want to put body parts in
there too? Like do it clear out the freezer. We
don't need that in there, we'll go get a new cake.
(41:34):
Not that hard to make. I thought we've paid a
lot for it. The point is like, sometimes people get
greedy and they want multiple things and you can only
have one. And that's just a reality.
Speaker 3 (41:45):
Right.
Speaker 2 (41:45):
Look, I would love to be able to dunk a basketball.
That just ain't happening. Because when I was born, God
tapped me on the shoulder and said, hey, man, you
know you're gonna be healthy.
Speaker 3 (42:04):
But there's a catch. What's that, lord?
Speaker 2 (42:08):
No, you see right below your knees, Yes, sir, those
are called calves, yes, lord, and you ain't getting them.
Speaker 3 (42:19):
Thank you, And off I went. And it has been.
Speaker 2 (42:23):
A lifelong battle, walking around like a flamingo with bad tattoos.
That's the way things go. Sometimes you get greedy. You
can't have everything. You got to accept one or the other.
And it kind of reminds me of Damian Lillard, not
the calves part, because he can actually dunk a basketball.
But all these reports that are coming out about Damian
(42:47):
Lillard and his agent, you know, his agent like warning teams.
You know, he reached out to a bunch of teams.
That was a report from Woes. I believe Adrian Warj Senarowski.
He reached out to teams not named the Miami Heat
and just said, hey, listen, if you trade for our guys,
you're trading for an unhappy player. Okay, that's that's cool.
(43:07):
And then you know, somebody reaches out to I think
it was Barry Jackson, who covers the NBA, reached out
to him, and Dame Lillard's agent was like, well, you know,
we just you know, wanted to let teams know our preference.
You know, Dame would like to go to the Miami Heat,
and we are very confident that there's something that could
get done between the Heat and the Portland Trailblazers, and
(43:28):
it could get done here during the summer league. Okay,
so what they're doing is they're trying the approach that
Anthony Davis did. And yes, Anthony Davis's approach did work,
but you kind of screwed some people in the sense
that when you eliminated a bunch of options and you
only left two, it kind of makes the transaction. Yeah
(43:50):
a point, but you're not getting as good of a
deals maybe you could have gotten elsewhere because you don't
have competition. You didn't create competition for Damian Lillard. It's like, well,
I only want to go to the Miami Heat, Okay,
But isn't also part of this that you want out
of Portland? So what is my question is what do
(44:11):
you want more? Do you want out of Portland or
into Miami? Because what if you can't have both? You know,
like like what if you know, Miami just offers a
deal that's a bag of crap, and Portland says, look,
we appreciate it, Like, we appreciate the offer, but we're
not going to just trade him away for garbage just
(44:33):
because the guy's unhappy. He's got a contract. I know
he's not happy with the moves that we've made. I
know that we're not looked at as any sort of
a contender anytime soon. But at some point we got
to look out for what's better for the franchise. Oh well,
you know you know it today because he's been there
so long and he's been so loyal. All right, So
after what fourteen fifteen years of faithful marriage, you go.
Speaker 3 (44:58):
And fool around with the name dog.
Speaker 2 (45:02):
And all of a sudden the husband complains about it,
and you could say, well, sorry, I don't know what
to tell you. I mean, I was good for fourteen
fifteen years. You got to let me have a free
pass here. Okay, all is forgiven, no problem, got it?
Like the whole thing, like you can't sometimes have everything.
(45:22):
And it feels like Damian Lillard and his agent like
they want everything here, Like we want out of Portland.
All right, we can make that happen. We also want
to go to Miami. Okay, but what if their deal
sucks and we can't make it happen. No, no, no, no, no,
we're going to Miami. Okay, that's not how this works,
Like you can't just have everything you want. And I
(45:43):
get the hesitation because there's also apparently, you know, this
Miami heat deal again is something that Portland doesn't really
like all that one all that much. And I do
wonder if some of this is because there's some Carmelo
Anthony fatigue. And what I mean by that is if
everybody remembers back in the day when the Carmelo Anthony
deal got done, where he got traded to the Knicks.
(46:07):
He was in Denver, and what ended up happening was
they had to give up so much to get him
that by the time he got to the Knicks, they
were never really any serious contender because of all the
talent they had to give up to acquire him. And
so you see a lot of these players in the
NBA who kind of see that, and maybe agents in
(46:28):
the NBA see that as a warning and go, well, yeah,
we want to go there, but we don't want you
to trade away all these different assets. It's like, dude,
you can't have everything. If you won out so bad,
just get out. Who cares where you land, Like anybody's
been through this, Like if you've left a job, there's
(46:48):
a big difference between leaving a job for another job
and just quitting, huge difference because you may not have
left that job if you didn't have another one lined up.
Speaker 3 (47:02):
But if you quit, you're like, I just got to
get out of here.
Speaker 2 (47:06):
The alternative is I'll wait until another job, which what
you're saying is, look, this is okay for now.
Speaker 3 (47:12):
I'm happy here for now.
Speaker 2 (47:14):
I would like something better, and if something comes along,
that's great, but you know, I'm okay now, and then
i'll make that move when you make it.
Speaker 3 (47:24):
And then there's one where you just quit.
Speaker 2 (47:26):
I'm out and I don't care where I end up,
and I don't care where if I land on my
feet or not. I just want to be out of
this place. It's this place I got a problem with.
I gotta go. And for Damian Lillard, it's like, what
do you want? Do you just want out? Or do
you want out but only on your terms? Like that's
the question he's got to answer. And for some reason,
(47:48):
they are dead set on it being the Miami Heat
and they're not going to hear any alternative otherwise, like
you you can't even Oh what about the Celtics? No, no,
his preference is not to play for Boston. Okay, what
about Brooklyn? No? No, no, they're in Brooklyn, like all
these other teams had been thrown out there, and you
got an unhappy player who once out.
Speaker 3 (48:06):
But only on his terms.
Speaker 2 (48:07):
It's weird and it feels like it only happens in
the NBA. It feels like the NBA is the place
where this happens and Dame Liland is the latest. Although
I will say, if you're the NBA, why don't you
milk this a little while? You know, why don't you
talk to talk to Dame's agent, you know, talk to
the Portland Trailblazers pulled Dame aside and be like, hey man,
(48:31):
we could use a little buzz here, like, you know,
some optimistic buzz, you know, not the type of buzz
to where you know, the number one overall pick the
guy that you know, looks like a wind puppet standing
outside of car dealership when there's a fourth of July
sale going on.
Speaker 3 (48:46):
We don't want the type of buzz.
Speaker 2 (48:47):
We're one of his security guards, you know, assault a
woman pretending to be one of the Spice girls who
happens to also be a very famous pop singer. We
would like for that not to happen and be the
headlines here. So could you go ahead and just kind
of milk this thing a little bit, kind of stretch
it out a little bit, you know, stretch it out,
you know, pull pull it as thin as you can,
(49:07):
you know, see what we can do with this, And
let's keep this story burning for at least another couple
of weeks so that we could have some positive stuff
to talk about, some interesting stuff to talk about, and
not some security guard knocking Britney Spears over so she
can go on another Instagram tirade.
Speaker 3 (49:22):
That's what we would like.
Speaker 2 (49:23):
Jonas Knox here Fox Sports Radio by the way. You
can get me on Twitter at the Jonas Knox At
the Jonas Knox on Twitter. A lot of positive feedback,
as you can imagine on this show. I feel like
it's been a successful show here from the tiraq dot
com studios. Huge success, like James, who writes in Thirsty Joni,
Twink the hog Bleep, You and your burly sugar daddy
(49:49):
go stock the frenchy Wemby in Sin City and hopefully
spurs security, turns your pasty ass into ashes and cremates
you into the new led of the Las Vegas fear.
Tony writes in Prince of Darkness, more like Prince of Darkness.
(50:12):
While you're in Vegas, check out some of these clubs
that you might like, Bleep and uh, you know Chippendale's.
You're a Spotlight. I'm surprised you didn't include Thunder from
down Under, but those would have been the the websites again,
you can see all these at the Jonas Knocks on Twitter.
Greg writes in hey, why don't you take your boy
toys shrimp Bleep, take it and stick it, Bleep. You
(50:39):
deserve to be smacked by Wemby's bodyguards, not Britney you
ass wife, Paul wrights In, you fake tough guy, threaten
your outraged at bleep Twitter since Elon Musk took over,
and you'll sign up for equally new blo leep on
(51:00):
the threads app like anybody will still give an f
except your two Russian and gay bots.
Speaker 3 (51:08):
He sounds sexy.
Speaker 2 (51:10):
A lot going on with that one, so again at
the Jonas Knocks on Twitter, at the Jonas Knocks on
Twitter if you would like to see any.
Speaker 3 (51:20):
Part of this.
Speaker 2 (51:22):
By the way, David also a late entry into the
positive feedback here on the show, David, who writes in
nothing more brilliant to this bleep and meta boy Jonas
coming up with epic material like is Sho hey o
Tani already on the Mount rushmore of greatest athletes ever?
Will the Dodgers be the best dynasty since the Yangs?
Why don't you bleep off to your boys in blue
(51:44):
bleepwad at the Jonas Knocks on Twitter, at the Jonas
Knocks on Twitter, And by the way, I don't know
that you can get that sort of sensational positive feedback
on threads or whatever it's called, but you can on
this show and those will be read on this show,
and the unedited versions can be read on Twitter at
the Jonas Stocks.
Speaker 3 (52:04):
And you don't have to follow me. I couldn't care less.
Don't care. You want to follow? Follow along? If not again,
don't care? All right?
Speaker 2 (52:10):
Coming up next, so here from the tire rack dot
Com Studios. There was a move that was made in
the NFL. It's the most obvious and appropriate move for
this franchise. When you think about it, it makes way
too much sense. No wonder it happened, and it's yours
right here on FSR. He emphasized the d oh, God,
(52:34):
tell you something. If I had a dollar every time
I heard a song like this at a Kinsignetta, I've
been too to over the last ten years, could have
retired by now.
Speaker 3 (52:47):
I would have told radio to screw off.
Speaker 2 (52:51):
I'll say this, Latinos, they'll throw a party at the
drop of a hat. Do not care somebody's birthday rager, Oh,
retirement rager, baby shower, rager, graduation, rager, wedding.
Speaker 3 (53:18):
Don't even get me started.
Speaker 2 (53:21):
What you know somebody's eighteen month birthday rager? It is.
Speaker 3 (53:26):
I mean, it's fun, it's festive.
Speaker 2 (53:30):
But damn they get after it. Not my thing, but
they will get after it and have a good time.
So always fun hearing the Alex Teischer tunes here on
the program. If that was Iowa Sam, we would have
heard like Waylon Jennings or some crap that he listens
to while they're you know, making corn designs and corn
(53:54):
mazes in the middle of August in Des Moines at the.
Speaker 3 (54:00):
Fifty eighth annual.
Speaker 2 (54:03):
Apple Fritter and Pineapple corn Pie eating contest at the
State Fair in Iowa. As he goes on yet another
vacation this summer, they should call the summer of twenty
twenty three. It's not the summer of Wemby. They should
call it the summer of No, you can't call it
the Summer of Sam.
Speaker 3 (54:20):
That would be bad.
Speaker 2 (54:21):
But the point is they should just call it whatever
you want to call it, because Iowa Sam's always on vacation.
Speaker 3 (54:26):
That's the moral of the story.
Speaker 2 (54:27):
So again, half on Iowa Sam, and joy enjoy your
your tractor ride around town. All right, So coming up
here from the tiraq dot com studios, we are going
to talk about somebody who's absolutely ready. I'm convinced now
somebody is ready to take over the world of Sports
and we'll get into that for you again about ten
(54:48):
minutes from now here on Fox Sports Radio. So this
is maybe the most appropriate thing that I've seen in
the NFL in a long time. And I don't know
if anybody has been close enough attention to that, because like,
if you talk about kickers in the National Football League,
people kind of give you the side eye.
Speaker 3 (55:07):
It's almost like, well, you know, they don't really count.
Speaker 2 (55:09):
It's like, okay, well, I mean they kind of do
kind of important. You know, a lot of big games
are won because of the kicker. I feel like it's
kind of important. But okay, I mean whatever, whatever you
want to say, like that's uh, let's go ahead and
just dismiss the kickers all across the NFL and act
like they don't have an impact or an importance or whatever.
(55:31):
Now I'm not going to go as far as to
say what you know. Some of the comments were from
earlier this week, which I don't know if anybody had
seen this. Daniel Carlson of the Raiders talked about how
difficult the kickoff changes are going to be for kickers
are making their jobs difficult, and it's like, listen, dude,
I don't want to hear how difficult your job is.
Speaker 3 (55:51):
How about the returners.
Speaker 2 (55:53):
Returners in the NFL are being evaporated because of these
new kickoff rules, Like they're going to become extinct at
one point because of the new kickoff rules. So when
Daniel Carlson, and I don't think he was meaning it
this way, but let's just pretend that he was. When
he comes out and starts talking about how difficult things
have been for the kicker with these new kickoff rules
(56:15):
and what they're able to do and hitting teams back
and how it's a skill set and all that, and
he's one of the best kickers in the league. It's like,
I don't want to hear how difficult it is for you.
Let's talk about the returners. It's like somebody who like
people that work outside in the summertime for a living,
you know, like people that like, you know, fix roofs.
They're like, you know, retarring a roof, and somebody walks
(56:37):
up and goes, god, you believe, like it's hot as
hell in there, like I don't know what, like maybe
we need the ac fixed. And the guy's got like
sweat pouring out of his body. He's got a pair
of dickies that are just soaked you could wring them
out and like water the plants with him, and he
looks down at you and goes, you're hot.
Speaker 3 (56:57):
Try hanging out up here. Try this.
Speaker 2 (57:00):
Yes, I'm getting skin canter right now while I'm putting
your roof together so that you can go through the
winter time with no more leaks. And you're complaining because
the ac only gets it down to seventy two inside
the house, like Daniel Carson complaining about how difficult the
job is for kickers on the Kickoff. Like the Kickoff
(57:20):
guys are like, come on, man, you see what happened
to us. One of our own had to turn to
gambling to try and make ends. Meet Isaiah Rodgers, and
look what happened to him. Now he's out of the
league and his career might be in jeopardy. All right,
So we don't want to hear you complain about it.
But the other story, when it came to a kicker
is the most appropriate story because it involves the Dallas Cowboys.
So the Dallas Cowboys needed some competition. You know, they
(57:43):
wanted to sign some competition there because you know, they
had a little bit of a problem did the Dallas Cowboys.
Last year, Brett Maher went through a phase where, for
some reason he just decided, you know what, I don't
feel like making these extra points. I mean, just don't
feel like it gonna just gonna go ahead and miss
like several in a row and have it become a
(58:05):
really big story, so much so that your teammates are
like biting their towels, like Jerry Tarkanian watching the extra
points because they're not sure how this is gonna go.
He got the yips, and so the Cowboys decided to
move on, and they brought interest in Viscuyano, but you
needed him to compete with somebody in camp, and so
you would think the Dallas Cowboys would go out and
(58:26):
get a veteran, you know, somebody who's got experience, because
why would you want to take any chances on having
an issue when it comes to kicking again, Why would
you want to take that chance? I know the Dallas
Cowboys wouldn't. Surely they wouldn't. So what do the Cowboys
do the most obvious cowboy move of all time? They
signed Brandon Aubrey from the MLS and the USFL because
(58:52):
you know, It's not like Mike McCarthy has any experience
with Mason Crosby or any experience going against Robbie Gold
who also are available and kickers that have kicked before
in the NFL and done it at a pretty high level,
in fact, done it in multiple Super Bowls between the
(59:14):
two of them. But why would you do that when
you could go out and sign somebody whose resume includes
the MLS to compete with the kicker that you brought
in in camp. This is the most appropriate Cowboys move
of all time.
Speaker 3 (59:34):
This is the one.
Speaker 2 (59:36):
And I don't want to say that the Dallas Cowboys
are eccentric, but there is something too. They like to
do things a little different. They like to you know,
there's and I give Jerry Jones credit for that. I
mean he wanted to do things different. Their stadium still
is different than anybody else's. That screen, the way that
design all that stuff, the presentation of the Cowboys is
(59:59):
different than anybody else is. It's why they're so successful
from from a financial standpoint, It's why they're quote unquote
America's team. Like they do things a little bit different,
you know, like where they you know, training camp, a
lot of teams in the NFL stay pretty local for
training camp. Like a lot of teams in the NFL,
(01:00:21):
will you know, they just either practice at their own
facility or they'll travel nearby. I don't know if the
Steelers are still doing it, but the Steelers would go
to Latrobe for years. You know, the home of rolling
rock from the glass line tanks of old Latrobe. Nothing
beats and ice cold in the bottle rolling rock. Pull
(01:00:41):
it out of a cooler. You see the ice fall
off the side of it. You open up that cap,
the aroma hits you. You look at that little horse
and the little thirty three on the back of the glass,
and you sit there and you watch the Steelers in
training camp and you go, you know what, thanks for
keeping it in state. Steelers appreciate you. You know, the
Bears used to go to bourbon A. Now they do
(01:01:03):
it in Chicago like Lake Forest, I think, but they
used to travel to bourbon A. It was big business
for those local towns. Huge business. You a lot of plays,
a lot of teams. You know, they stay local. You
know what the Cowboys do. We're gonna go to Oxnard.
Speaker 3 (01:01:21):
Where's that?
Speaker 2 (01:01:22):
I'll tell you where because I live not far from Oxnard.
It's about twenty minutes north. And I still don't know
why they're there. I don't get it. I don't understand.
But they do things a little different. You know, if
you want to know where ox Snart is, I'll help
you out. If you're driving right now and you don't
have access to a map, don't worry about it. Put
(01:01:44):
the ran McNally down. I got you covered. Here's where
Oxnard is. You know where the Kardashians live in Calabasas.
It goes like this where the Kardashians live in Calabasas,
And who knows, maybe Tom Brady's moving at some point,
who knows, if you believe some of the rumors. Point
is it goes Calabasas. And then right above that is
(01:02:06):
a Gore Hills, and then right above that is Westlake
Village at the little Mexican place. I worked at Cisco's
before I got fired by my brother, and I wore
white jeans from Miller's outpost. And then right above Westlake
Village is Thousand Oaks. And then right above Thousand Oaks
is a place called Newberry Park, and right above that
is a place called Camerio and then right past that
(01:02:28):
is Oxnard, and the Cowboys chose there. And I don't
know why. The climate's pretty cool, it's coastal, it doesn't
get too too hot, but still you're a long ways
away from Texas and they chose there. They do things differently,
(01:02:49):
just like they do with their kickers. With all the
chaos that you had last year, a kicker with Brett
Maher just confusing whether or not a made extra point
was inside the uprights or just to the right or left,
Like with all that chaos that went on last year
in kind of a make or break season, considering it
(01:03:09):
feels like Mike McCarthy's got to produce.
Speaker 3 (01:03:11):
If you've got all this talent, they've got to produce.
Speaker 2 (01:03:14):
Dan Quinn's kind of waiting there and everybody expects Dallas
to try and get it done this year. The defending
you know, NFC champions are in your division again, Like
with all everything on the line, it seems like for
the Cowboys this year and kicker being an issue last year,
at certain points, what do they do?
Speaker 3 (01:03:33):
No, no, no, no, no.
Speaker 2 (01:03:35):
It makes too much sense to sign Mason Crosby. You know,
he's had a bunch of success in his in his career,
and listen, Mike McCarthy and him, they go way back.
They want a Super Bowl together. But listen, that makes
too much sense. And also, Robbie Gold like one of
the better kickers of all time. And listen, he's kicked
in a couple of Super Bowls. You know, he's kicked
in some of the worst conditions you can think of,
like Chicago. Also, by the way, when it comes to
(01:03:56):
the playoffs, it's kind of important to have good kicking.
Robbie Gold's never miss to kick in the playoffs in
his entire career, not one. And he's been around for
almost twenty years now. That makes way too much sense.
We're gonna sign a guy who played for the MLS, Yeah,
but don't worry about he. I mean, he recently was
at the USFL. And that's not to say Brandon Aubrey's
(01:04:18):
not going to be a great kicker, But why take
the chance, Like, why not go with something, you know,
why not go with something that makes some sense and
is easy, But that would be two standard that would
be too typical. And the Dallas Cowboys like to do
things a little bit differently.
Speaker 3 (01:04:34):
Here.
Speaker 2 (01:04:35):
Jonas Knox Fox Sports radio, Get me on Twitter at
the Jonas Knox at the Jonas Knox on Twitter. Coming
up next here from the tire rack dot Com Studios,
we are going to talk about somebody.
Speaker 3 (01:04:44):
Who's absolutely ready.
Speaker 2 (01:04:45):
I'm convinced they are ready for a sports explosion. We'll
get into that for you here, but for all the
latest from around the world of sports ladies and gentlemen,
it's Moncy Malanios.
Speaker 4 (01:05:00):
Let me have to take you over, Malis.
Speaker 6 (01:05:05):
Yay, my clockwork, Alex right on the money.
Speaker 4 (01:05:10):
On the money.
Speaker 2 (01:05:11):
By the way, I wasn't sure whether or not I
was going to be able to deliver the high note
there because of the cigarette smoke that I've been breathing
in the past twenty four hours. Got it done, Manci,
You did perseverance. How do you say perseverance in Spanish?
But I have no idea me neither.
Speaker 4 (01:05:25):
I don't even know if there is a direct word
for that.
Speaker 2 (01:05:28):
Now, you know my life. I just walk around nodding
my head whatever you say.
Speaker 6 (01:05:34):
Because not everything translates, translates exactly the same, like I've
learned that.
Speaker 4 (01:05:39):
Yes, So not to throw my boss under the bus.
Speaker 6 (01:05:43):
Here from the Dodgers, she tried to do something really
smart to help during the holiday season with putting things
from the tour instadant locations because we're so busy during
the holiday season. Things in Japanese and in Spanish, right,
like kind of just little things throughout the stadium to
help in case you don't speaking English. And then she
like gives me the Spanish one and she's like, can
(01:06:04):
you dibble check this? And I start reading it and
I was like, Kayla, did you put this in Google Translate?
Speaker 4 (01:06:09):
And she's like yeah, And I was like, no, girl,
that does not the mark.
Speaker 6 (01:06:15):
Like one of the things that I could have stopped
laughing was prior to you know, world Series rings and trophies,
Baseball used to give a black bat.
Speaker 4 (01:06:24):
That's what it was.
Speaker 6 (01:06:25):
A black bat was your championship, you know, ring trophy.
And so the Dodgers have six black bats, and that
translated it to Murcia, which is a bat like a
like a bat, like the creature, the thing that hides
upside down. So like she wrote, you know in English,
it's black bats. That's what we say. These black bats
(01:06:45):
are the World Series trophies. How it all started.
Speaker 4 (01:06:48):
And then it said muri, which is like vampire. It's
like the bat, the creature.
Speaker 2 (01:06:52):
All that's evil and if you say that to the
wrong people, you get smart.
Speaker 6 (01:06:55):
So I was like, oh, no, so guys, it does
not translate the same.
Speaker 4 (01:06:59):
It's doesn't always worked that way.
Speaker 3 (01:07:01):
Let me let me.
Speaker 2 (01:07:02):
Can I read you volume nine in Why I'm an Idiot?
So here's volume nine into Why I'm an Idiot when
it comes to Spanish.
Speaker 4 (01:07:08):
So I'm surprised. Nine volumes.
Speaker 2 (01:07:11):
So now keeping keeping there's many more. Trust there's a
whole book here. God a little hard so but I
learned a lot of my Spanish from Narcos. All right,
so all the bad words, I know. We can have
a conversation and have to be as vulgar as as possible,
and I'll make it happen.
Speaker 3 (01:07:31):
But this is what an idiot I am.
Speaker 2 (01:07:34):
So we had like some aunts in the house and
I said to my wife, I'm like, ah, look, it's
a bunch of tias. It's a bunch of teas running around.
She goes, what, he goes teas, what do you mean?
I was like, yeah, I'm all that. That means that
means aunt. He goes, No, there's a difference between.
Speaker 3 (01:07:56):
Aunt and aunt.
Speaker 2 (01:07:59):
A tea is an aunt is an aunt and she
said an aunt was something else. Yeah, okay, I want
to screwed that up anyways, So I just I just
went with Tias because I just thought, oh, well look
at me, I'm gonna impress her right now. I can
ever look like I haven't that And she just was
like like there was nobody around.
Speaker 4 (01:08:19):
In the head and say that's that's a good effort.
Speaker 3 (01:08:22):
She just like clutched a rosary and stormed off. There
was no Yeah, there was no coming back from that.
Speaker 2 (01:08:28):
No, that's only volume nine months.
Speaker 4 (01:08:31):
That's only how many volumes I can imagine. I can't imagine.
Speaker 3 (01:08:35):
By the way, some.
Speaker 2 (01:08:35):
Guy just wrote in I don't even know if this
is accurate, and I would trust him in his Spanish
last name Gross or I think it's Goss. Maybe he
writes in, uh, perseverance.
Speaker 3 (01:08:47):
I don't know.
Speaker 4 (01:08:49):
I also can't up after her.
Speaker 6 (01:08:50):
But I've definitely never said perseverance in Spanish, so I
don't I don't know, I don't know.
Speaker 4 (01:08:56):
All right, let's talk about the NBA.
Speaker 6 (01:08:58):
The athletic is reporting shams typically just tweeted that the
Phoenix Suns are front runners to sign free agent Bull
Bull So they're trying to give a Wemby oh challenge.
Speaker 2 (01:09:09):
Hey, you know the here's a fun fact for bull
bull all right. Bull bull is one of the few
names in sports and one of the few names that
you can say that if you say it and then
take a bite out of food and say it with
food in your mouth, it sounds exactly the same. Try it,
bull bull, Take a bite out of a sandwich and
then say bull bull. No, it goes exactly I swear
(01:09:31):
to God. Same with Blall Powell, Blall Pal. If you
have food in your mouth or no food in your mouth,
it sounds exactly the same.
Speaker 4 (01:09:39):
I believe you.
Speaker 3 (01:09:40):
How's that for a fun fact?
Speaker 4 (01:09:41):
It's a great, great one. Jonah is so good, so good.
Speaker 6 (01:09:46):
The Philadelphia seventy six ers have a decision to make
because they're restricted free agent. Paul Ree Junior has signed
a three year, twenty three million dollar offer sheet with
the Jazz. The sixer has happened till tomorrow Sunday, eleven
fifty nine pm Eastern time to match and Tane read
or off. He goes to Utah and we're gonna go
to Wemby for a bit. You were talking about Victor
Wembanyama and his performance and how we you know, a
(01:10:09):
lot of people crucified his performance. Uh here's a little
of what he said after the game on his you
know performance.
Speaker 5 (01:10:17):
Honestly, I didn't really know what I was doing on
the court tonight, but it's uh, you know, I'm trying
to learn for the mixed games, and the importance is
to be ready for the season. I think the hardest
for me was understanding the all the some sometimes I
was offered them with the plays and the calls, and
I think it's the biggest improvement I got to do.
(01:10:38):
It's being ready to to to react to the plays
that we're called by the punt guard or and uh yeah,
stay connected.
Speaker 6 (01:10:46):
I mean, isn't that what you're supposed to do?
Speaker 2 (01:10:49):
Yeah, well listen, you know, I don't even I'm still
trying to figure out, like, well, we can you know,
nitpick his nine point performance and you know, he's he's.
Speaker 3 (01:10:59):
Seen kind of like a deer in headlights at.
Speaker 4 (01:11:01):
Times a little bit a little bit.
Speaker 2 (01:11:02):
I'm still trying to figure out why Britney Spears was
using an English accent, like a British accent to go
approach him.
Speaker 3 (01:11:09):
What was that was that her disguise.
Speaker 4 (01:11:11):
I don't know. I mean, listen, it's britt I don't know.
Speaker 2 (01:11:16):
I mean, wouldn't you like, wouldn't you want him to recognize?
Like why not sing like Baby one more time? Or
domes with that?
Speaker 4 (01:11:22):
I don't know if you would have known who she is.
Speaker 2 (01:11:24):
You know, you don't think like if she walked up
and just started going singing womanizer, he wouldn't turn around
and go, hey, I love that song.
Speaker 4 (01:11:31):
I don't think so.
Speaker 3 (01:11:32):
I don't know she's got some bangers.
Speaker 4 (01:11:34):
She how is he like twelve years old? He's French.
I don't know if he knows she is.
Speaker 6 (01:11:39):
Also, I don't think Britney looks like Britney that we
know anymore.
Speaker 3 (01:11:44):
What's that supposed to be? I mean she's gaming Britney's No.
Speaker 6 (01:11:47):
I just think the superstar we saw on stage twenty
years ago, that's not the girl that walks up.
Speaker 4 (01:11:52):
To you right now.
Speaker 3 (01:11:53):
Oh hey, listen, you better be careful that.
Speaker 6 (01:11:54):
I'm not saying anything wrong. I'm saying that she is
not dulled up. She's not in an outfit. He's wearing sunglasses.
She's wearing like regular.
Speaker 4 (01:12:02):
Jeans and T shirts.
Speaker 6 (01:12:03):
She doesn't you're not expecting Britney Spears to walk up
to you.
Speaker 4 (01:12:07):
That's what I'm saying.
Speaker 3 (01:12:08):
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (01:12:08):
I'd like if he was out of costume. If Carrot
Top walked up to me, I'd.
Speaker 3 (01:12:12):
Know who it was.
Speaker 6 (01:12:13):
Oh my god, that's that's don't you there? Compare Carrot
Top to Britney.
Speaker 3 (01:12:20):
That's not a fair cop.
Speaker 4 (01:12:21):
That is awful. Awful. Baseball scores.
Speaker 6 (01:12:23):
Yankees beat the Cubs six to three, John Carlos stand
Hoomer twice in the victory. Tigers beating the Blue Jays
two zero top of the fifth, Oriols still up on
the twin six to one bottom of the six. In Minnesota,
Cardinals have scored again. They're beating the White Sox two zero,
top of the seventh. Last thing I'll tell you before
you say Carrot Top and Britney Spears in the same sentence.
Speaker 4 (01:12:43):
This is a developing story. That's not it's not gonna
be good, Jonas.
Speaker 6 (01:12:46):
A couple of days ago, Northwestern suspended Pat Fitzgerald, their
football coach for two weeks. So there's a story right
now circulating. I'm not gonna give a lot of detail
because actually I don't know what I can say on air,
but two anonymous former players spoke to The Daily and
The Daily Northwestern specifically, and they basically said that there
is a lot of really you know, unfortunate hazing happening
(01:13:09):
and that the coach one hundred percent knew about it
and may have encouraged it.
Speaker 4 (01:13:15):
The details of what's happening. I'm not going to say,
go read the article. I just don't really know what
I can say.
Speaker 6 (01:13:20):
But apparently the players are like, no, no, no, he knew,
and he would gesture to indicate this person should be
hazed next.
Speaker 2 (01:13:29):
And when you read this stuff back, look, I mean
there's obviously you know, it's graphic and all that. Like,
there may have been the intent on his part may
not have been to fully go that.
Speaker 3 (01:13:44):
You know.
Speaker 2 (01:13:45):
The point is, in real time, he may have meant
it to be something else.
Speaker 6 (01:13:50):
Right.
Speaker 2 (01:13:50):
The problem is, because we weren't there and now we
read it after the fact, the reaction to it is
not going to end.
Speaker 3 (01:13:56):
Well, it's not. And Pat Fitzger, they've already you what,
suspended him two weeks two weeks?
Speaker 4 (01:14:01):
No no pay Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:14:04):
I got I got a funny feeling that'll probably be
extended a little bit.
Speaker 4 (01:14:06):
Yes, No, no, no, for sure.
Speaker 3 (01:14:08):
Yeah it's so. It's not great. Yeah, there it is.
But you're great, Mancy, You're pretty much moral of this story.
Thank you. I'll take that. You know, round up from
average pretty good. I'll take that.
Speaker 2 (01:14:21):
There she is the great Manti Milognos with us here
on Fox Sports Radio. Right now, though, it is time
for the progressive play of the day road on swung
on hitting the air, Date bright Field, get out the
tape measure, loan on.
Speaker 3 (01:14:36):
Second deck for Cody Bellinger.
Speaker 2 (01:14:39):
That is the Cubs radio network on the call. That's
your progressive play of the day. It's unfortunately because the
Cubs did turn around and lose the following day. That
just wrapped up a couple a short time ago. If
you heard from Monty Belanos there, but that is your
progressive play of the day. Progressive makes bundling easy and affordable,
getting multi policy discount by combining your motorcycle, RV, boat,
ATV and more, all your potent one place, bundle and
(01:15:01):
save it.
Speaker 3 (01:15:01):
Progressive dot Com. All right, it's coming up next.
Speaker 2 (01:15:03):
I'm convinced somebody is ready for a sports takeover.
Speaker 3 (01:15:07):
We'll tell you who that is.
Speaker 2 (01:15:08):
Right here on FSR, Jonas knocks Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 3 (01:15:12):
We don't need to bring Jonas in. Thank you appreciate it.
Speaker 2 (01:15:17):
By the way, if you coming up in about ten
minutes from now from the tire rack dot Com studios,
make sure you stick around. It'll be Steve Hartman and
Bucky Brooks. They will be on the air with a
lot to get to, a lot in the NBA, a
lot in the NBL, but in the NFL as well too,
But always a fun listen with those two guys here
on FSR.
Speaker 3 (01:15:35):
Obviously.
Speaker 2 (01:15:35):
Thank you to Alex ty Shirt Bo Benson, the great
Mancy Bolanos is whatnot you know what? The slightly above
average Moncy Bolanos, all right, since we want to play
that game here.
Speaker 3 (01:15:47):
Thank you to everybody behind the scenes there.
Speaker 2 (01:15:49):
Ian Roddy was producing the program or editing the program
as well too. And then Jared Justice, who helped me
out get set up here in Las Vegas, could not
have been nicer, did a phenomenal job. So this show
doesn't exist, and none of this stuff happens without the
people behind the scenes. They're what drives the stuff you
hear on the air, and it's always you know to me,
I think you know they deserve a little bit of
(01:16:11):
the love as well too, so we appreciate all.
Speaker 3 (01:16:13):
Of that form making it happen here.
Speaker 2 (01:16:15):
If you missed any of this show and you'd like
to find out why we're so loving here on this show,
you can check out the podcast at Fox Sports Radio
dot com. That'll be posted up shortly after we go
off the air, and now we'll tweet out a link
to that as well too at the Jonas Knox. But
right now it is time to close up shop. But
a little something we do every single week, and it's called.
Speaker 3 (01:16:33):
This Jonas Moron.
Speaker 1 (01:16:36):
How could you not get to these stories?
Speaker 3 (01:16:38):
Morones are the scraps y.
Speaker 2 (01:16:42):
But that we turn it over to Bo Benson to
find out what the hell we've missed so far on
the show.
Speaker 8 (01:16:46):
Bo all right, Jonas Well, I do believe that it's
International Fight Week out there in Las Vegas, NBA summer weaves.
That new orb thing just appeared in the middle of
the strip, so there's a lot of stuff going on
out in Las Vegas. Has wed a lot of fun
stuff which just happens to be where you're at.
Speaker 2 (01:17:01):
And by the way, can I be honest with you
that that big giant ball kind of overrated. It's like, Dad,
we drive, we drove by it. I'm like, that's it.
That's like that, that's what we're looking at. That's that's
what the big hype is. It's like, come on, dude,
I mean I get it, but you know, I mean
it's neat. It costs like four billion, five billion like whatever.
It was like, it costs a lot of money, but
(01:17:23):
it's just like a giant ball and it and it
seems like it's only better at night. Like a lot
of things in Vegas, you need the lights in order
to really impress. And I don't know, I just wasn't
that blown away by it. But I will say this,
bo the A's got to get out here soon. It
feels like Vegas is ready to take over the sports landscape,
(01:17:44):
like it feels like with the Raiders with the Golden Knight.
The A's potentially coming. I think it's only a matter
of time before there's an NBA team here.
Speaker 8 (01:17:54):
Hey, make sure everybody listening right now and listens tomorrow
for according to Manci, maybe have something on that tomorrow
as well. That's right there, Yeah, okay, yeah, listen.
Speaker 2 (01:18:04):
I just think I think Vegas is ready and It's
nice that people have finally got over there gambling phobia, like,
oh no, you can't have sports round camp legaus? What
if the games are going to be fixed as we've seen,
if guys want to gamble on games are going to
gamble anyway. So I think Vegas is ready for an
absolute sports takeover.
Speaker 3 (01:18:20):
What else we got?
Speaker 8 (01:18:21):
Yeah, real quick here, I'm going to editorialize a bit.
And the update Mancy mentioned that Sham's tweeted out that
these sons are front runners for a bull bull.
Speaker 3 (01:18:29):
Yeah. We we really.
Speaker 8 (01:18:31):
Don't need to say anybody's a front runner for bull bull?
Like are we that bored?
Speaker 3 (01:18:34):
Oh?
Speaker 4 (01:18:35):
Cheese?
Speaker 8 (01:18:35):
Are we that bored?
Speaker 2 (01:18:37):
Like?
Speaker 8 (01:18:37):
I fully believe that Shams and Woes should both have
their phones taken away until Damian the Lillard gets traded
because they don't need to provide any updates on the
guys that are getting signed right now.
Speaker 2 (01:18:47):
Okay, well you know they do not, all right, So
let me ask you quite if it was manew Bowl,
would that make a difference?
Speaker 8 (01:18:53):
That would be something? Because how well I don't believe
the Suns could probably use him. Actually, to be honest with.
Speaker 3 (01:18:59):
You, I don't. I don't think he's still with us.
Speaker 2 (01:19:00):
But the point is he was the original Bull and
and you know, a really fun player to watch.
Speaker 3 (01:19:06):
But look, I mean bull Bull.
Speaker 2 (01:19:07):
You know, if he's in demand, and if he can
be in demand, why can't we all be in demand,
