Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hey, NBA Con Cavino and Rich, Fox Sports Radio especial
weekend pod, which is.

Speaker 2 (00:06):
Fun, very pumped up.

Speaker 3 (00:07):
Man.

Speaker 4 (00:08):
What's going on Mandalay Bay, nbbacn first ever NBA Con.
What an honor to be here, Cavino and Rich from
Fox Sports Radio. It's Vegas. We get to eat on
the company dime as part of the fun. I'm excited
about that. I'm excited to just take it all in. Rich,
make some observations. What is NBA Con. It's the first
ever one. I can tell you this first and first.

(00:30):
Mostly it's about the lifestyle. It's about the culture. That's
what I'm getting here as I take it all in,
all the fun and all the excitement, and all the kids.

Speaker 2 (00:38):
There's a lot of families here. Rich, to watch what
you say.

Speaker 1 (00:40):
That's my number one observation. Cavino's like, don't be yourself. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
you observe that you.

Speaker 2 (00:45):
Might want to tone it down. I'm not toning anything down.

Speaker 1 (00:48):
But if you're passing by, if you want to grab
the mic, chime in on whatever we're talking about.

Speaker 2 (00:52):
Feel free.

Speaker 1 (00:53):
That's the type of fun we're having this weekend at
NBA Con. Now, I say let's just start with last night.
All us on Victor wem Ben Yama, Yama yam wem
Ben Yamn.

Speaker 4 (01:09):
Now everybody here knows how to say the name. Everyone
else is still getting used to it.

Speaker 1 (01:13):
Victor we bin Yama and of course lots of added
unnecessary added pressure because of the whole Britney Spears thing.
Will give you the update on that, but look, you
can't make any real assessment on his future in the
NBA based on what happened yesterday because there's no way

(01:34):
around it. It was a pretty terrible first day at
the office. But then again, any time you start a
new job or a new set of surroundings, are you good? No?

Speaker 4 (01:44):
And that's exactly what I was going to relate it to.
It's like your your first day on the job. Sometimes
it just seems overwhelming. And that's exactly how it looked
for him. Like WHOA even said, I didn't know what
was going on.

Speaker 2 (01:55):
Everything was moving a little too fast, a little different.

Speaker 4 (01:57):
He didn't know the players, he didn't know the scheme,
and it evident, you know, so any highlight that he
had it was just his skill coming to play in
that moment, because he looked lost noticeably lost.

Speaker 2 (02:09):
He looked a little slopped.

Speaker 1 (02:11):
No one else he looked noticeably huge, noticeably noticeably force
to be tall.

Speaker 2 (02:17):
He didn't look as big as I thought he would
on the court. To be honest, he's a.

Speaker 4 (02:20):
Very frail guy, and I'm not trying to be the
guy coming down on this first observation, on this big stage,
it was what it was. I don't think there's a
whole lot of weight to it. But he only scored
nine points. He only had eight rebounds, five blocks, three assists.
But again, the sloppiness is what stood out. Is it
the be all end all? Is he when Bustiyama? Absolutely not.

Speaker 2 (02:43):
No, of course that's what you would think if you
follow social media and what they're saying. I'm not here
to hate on the guy.

Speaker 4 (02:49):
I'm just here to say that he didn't have a
great first downing.

Speaker 2 (02:52):
We just didn't.

Speaker 1 (02:53):
The question number one is do you get the sense
that people were not rooting against him?

Speaker 2 (02:59):
But the story more juicy that it's.

Speaker 1 (03:01):
Like, oh terrible game one like we live in Yeah,
people want to tear people down all the time.

Speaker 2 (03:07):
It's way too early to tell.

Speaker 4 (03:09):
And again, you could use your own life examples to
relate like again, Like I said, you know, your first
day on the job, sometimes you're like, oh no, I
hope every day is going to be like this because
I feel lost, and then it gets easier and easier
every day.

Speaker 2 (03:27):
That's what's gonna happen to him.

Speaker 4 (03:28):
You would think he has adjustments to make. But it
was a slap in the face and a slapped reality.
It's like, yo, you're not playing in France no more.

Speaker 5 (03:36):
Yeah, and your first day on the job, Howard Stern
wasn't sitting there in the studio watching you.

Speaker 3 (03:41):
He had Jerry West and Kareem.

Speaker 2 (03:43):
In attention and not only had energy.

Speaker 4 (03:45):
Think of the intensity that everyone else is playing with
to show that they're the guy, right. Everyone's bringing their
best to beat this dude and to showcase their talents.

Speaker 2 (03:58):
He's playing with the Sharks right there out there.

Speaker 1 (04:01):
You think, do you think he's well aware of everything
surrounding his debut. Do you think someone's like, yo, Victor, Victor,
when Ben, you have to get out here. Tickets are
usually thirty bucks. Everyone wants to see you. There's seven
eight hundred bucks for a summer league NBA game. Do
you think he's well aware of that? Do you think
that puts a little pressure on the dude.

Speaker 4 (04:20):
It's been a rough week for the guy again, unnecessary
added pressure with Britney spears under the microscrope.

Speaker 2 (04:27):
Why get everybody out to get him?

Speaker 1 (04:29):
I don't know if anyone had Brittany and Wimbin Yama
on their ingo card. I certainly here's a few life,
real life examples that I think everyone should keep in mind.

Speaker 2 (04:37):
And I think everybody's been there two for me.

Speaker 1 (04:41):
When Rich and I got hired at ESPN years ago, right,
we thought we could just step in there and wing
it like we always did. Yeah, you know, we just
you know, hey, we just showed up like, hey, we're
gonna be on TV, We're gonna have fun. And then
we realized, no, No, there's an extra level of work
and effort and preparation that goes in to it if
you want to perform and deliver.

Speaker 2 (05:02):
On that level.

Speaker 4 (05:03):
And I think that's what you're seeing with him on
his first day, Like, Okay, wait a second, I'm gonna
have to come in, I'm I'm gonna have to know
the players. I'm gonna have to know the players, the scheme.
I can't just come here and rely on my skill level,
where Rich and I thought we could rely on.

Speaker 2 (05:17):
I think that's a nonsense statement, because the guy did
not look good. He looks sloppy and unprepared. It's a
summer it's a summer league, NBA games.

Speaker 4 (05:26):
I mean, it's a summer league where everyone else could
shine by being better than him.

Speaker 2 (05:30):
They're all out to get him.

Speaker 5 (05:32):
I'll tell you what not to be a Laker homer.
But Lebron didn't look sloppy like that when he first.

Speaker 1 (05:37):
I'm so glad you said that he came in time
than ready.

Speaker 2 (05:42):
He's not. He's not.

Speaker 1 (05:45):
I looked this up because I'm so researched. Zion Williamson
a couple of years ago, eleven points in his summer debut.

Speaker 2 (05:54):
It's not Lebron. The hype for web Yama is bigger
the hype for Sion a couple of years ago. Now,
please you forget the rich I forget, Yes, I do not.
I was there, I was on ESPN with you.

Speaker 4 (06:05):
It's not the same level of expectation at all for
this dude. Well, and I'll give you another example. How
many of you this here's what I think everybody listening
can relate to. Again, Cavino and Rich Live on a
Saturday NBA Con the first ever NBA Con excitements in
the air. Happy to be here. I remember cruising through
high school right like.

Speaker 2 (06:25):
I didn't care. I never studied, not really. I didn't
put that much effort in suprising and you know, but
I still believe it or not.

Speaker 4 (06:32):
Had great grades right because I just did well, but
I put zero effort into it. Then once I got
into college, I realized I couldn't have that same approach, Like,
wait a second, I have to study. I have to
put actual effort in. If not, i'd be on academic probation.
I wouldn't have lasted. You had to put that extra
effort in. It was that adjustment you had to make.

(06:54):
This is the NBA. Everyone's out to get them. You
got to make that adjustment.

Speaker 2 (06:59):
You're doing whatever you want.

Speaker 4 (07:00):
It's not gonna put him there, No, I'm not. It's
the reality. Everyone else is saying he's a bust. I'm
not saying that at all.

Speaker 2 (07:06):
Is so ridiculous. She sounds one Summer League game.

Speaker 1 (07:09):
You're assessing a guy that they're saying is a generational talent.

Speaker 4 (07:12):
That's exactly what I'm not doing. I'm saying he's got
to make the adjustments. All the potentials there, there's no
doubt about get the nerves out.

Speaker 1 (07:18):
I didn't make one observation that it seems like a
real simpleton NBA fan observation. But when you're seven foot
five and you're playing the style of play that let's
say Danny like a point guardine play, this guy was
getting the ball at the top of the key and
driving like stuff that's seven foot five.

Speaker 2 (07:36):
Guys don't do it.

Speaker 1 (07:39):
Sounds like the most simple observation, But when you're seven five,
you're dripple like. I just felt like there was so
many more opportunities. Guys are swiping balls and turn over.

Speaker 2 (07:48):
Think about it.

Speaker 1 (07:49):
When you're seven five, he's dribbling and there's just more
chance for error. And I just feel that, like, you've
never seen a guy that big play this style of game.

Speaker 2 (07:58):
No, you know what it looks like.

Speaker 4 (07:59):
You know, this may be a stretch of an analogy,
but let's say you could fight and throw hands a
little bit, but in your dream you can't, but you
know you can. That's how it looked like when he
was driving to the basket, like you know he could
do it. And it looked like he could do it,
but it just wasn't working right. He was a little off.
And again we can only make these observations based on
what we saw. I'm not saying he's a bust by

(08:20):
any means, but you would think that based on the
feedback you're reading on social media. Well, that's not my point.
He's gonna be great. He just has to put that
extra work in.

Speaker 2 (08:29):
He has to figure out who his teammates are, he
has to figure out the playbook, and he'll be fine.

Speaker 1 (08:35):
Like you said, Rich, maybe it was the jitters, but
I'm not rooting against the guy like it seems the.

Speaker 2 (08:41):
Rest of the world is. Now.

Speaker 4 (08:43):
You also have to factor in the Britney Army, who's
also adding to the feedback.

Speaker 2 (08:49):
You know they are, they really are.

Speaker 4 (08:50):
So it creates a narrative, and the narrative is that
he could be a bust.

Speaker 2 (08:54):
But I don't think that at all. Did you see
the video was released since we talked last.

Speaker 1 (08:58):
The video is really no one so no one grabbed
Victor Webbinyama Britney Spears tapped him.

Speaker 2 (09:08):
I think that.

Speaker 4 (09:08):
Whole thing was because the original story was also that
she fell and that you know he knocked off her glasses,
which that probably did happen.

Speaker 2 (09:16):
I couldn't see in the video.

Speaker 4 (09:18):
But the initial story as we broke it on Fox
Sports Radio is that she fell to the ground.

Speaker 2 (09:22):
That did not happen, but we knew footage would surface.

Speaker 4 (09:25):
I mean, in today's world with cell phones and cameras everywhere,
you knew there was gonna be footage eventually, because it
seemed too impossible to think of.

Speaker 1 (09:32):
If all your stories had video evidence to show how
exaggerated your story was.

Speaker 2 (09:38):
There was just the.

Speaker 1 (09:39):
Story was she was grabbing him, and then the story
was a security guard like backhand in her.

Speaker 2 (09:46):
Neither one of those things really happened.

Speaker 1 (09:48):
She went to tap him, a security guards, I got
back off, she got a little flustered.

Speaker 3 (09:52):
Her own hand hit person.

Speaker 4 (09:54):
By the way, everything we're talking about also goes to
show you how much pressure that.

Speaker 2 (09:57):
This dude is going to have to deal with.

Speaker 4 (10:00):
I mean, him just playing his first game in Summer
League and everyone's breaking it down like this, right, Yeah,
the fact that he's just simply walking through a casino
Britney Spears has an incident with him, and everyone's hating
on him because of it. You know, it's gonna be
a bit of a roller coaster and adjustment for when Binyama.

Speaker 2 (10:22):
It's the biggest story going on in the NBA, and
we're here Cavino and Rich at NBA. Con I came
here from San Antonio.

Speaker 1 (10:29):
My wife's from Texas, so on our way to NBA
con I flew out of San Antonio's airport. I'm wondering
when they're gonna change the signage and know how, like
every town has their like if you're in La at
the Lakers shop, Danny out here in Vegas, I was
showing you how they got your your Raiders, like the.

Speaker 2 (10:44):
Raiders Shop store.

Speaker 1 (10:45):
Yeah, the San Antonio Spurs store at the airport still has.

Speaker 2 (10:49):
Tim Duncan everywhere.

Speaker 1 (10:50):
Tim Duncan hasn't played in what seems like an eternity
because they really haven't had a face of the organization
since so.

Speaker 2 (10:57):
I'm sure like they're not even you replaced the legends
though you just what I'm saying.

Speaker 1 (11:01):
They haven't even rebranded the Spurs store at the NBA
store at the airport.

Speaker 2 (11:05):
So dude, it's game one.

Speaker 1 (11:07):
I think we're all over exaggerating and just kidd'll be fine.

Speaker 2 (11:11):
It's not exaggerating. We're just telling you what we saw.

Speaker 4 (11:13):
Yeah, and you saw a guy that got a little
flustered when he was double team. There was a lot
of pressure put on him on the court and in life,
on social media.

Speaker 2 (11:22):
So on and so forth. I mean, he you know
what he did.

Speaker 1 (11:25):
You know, he looked like a remember Bambi when she
was on the on the ice.

Speaker 2 (11:29):
Yeah, it's just like a little like well, it was.

Speaker 1 (11:32):
A little you know, at moments it was like a
little clumsy, a little sloppy.

Speaker 5 (11:36):
But yeah, he just finished playing ball in France three
weeks ago.

Speaker 3 (11:41):
Their season ended.

Speaker 5 (11:42):
Yeah, so it's not like he's been off for a
couple of months. He is going to have to acclimate
himself to the NBA. You got bigger guys, you know
the of course he was joking saying they need to
get skinny.

Speaker 3 (11:54):
Yeah, I don't need to get skinny up right, skinny up?

Speaker 5 (11:58):
I don't know, because you think about a Kevin Durant
and I just don't know how this is gonna go
if he doesn't add a little bit of weight, maybe twenty.

Speaker 2 (12:07):
Pounds at least.

Speaker 1 (12:09):
I gotta, you know, just gotta snack a little more.
I can't say rich chef.

Speaker 2 (12:14):
I will say, it's uh, it's a lot of pressure
on a young kid. He's nineteen, that's that's a great nineteen.
I want games to keep.

Speaker 4 (12:23):
In mind that he's only a nineteen year old kid,
and I do think he'll make those adjence.

Speaker 1 (12:26):
Almost I almost hate myself for even talk about this,
but I know it's a big story because it's the
for instance, we're here at NBI NBA com anyone has
the right.

Speaker 2 (12:34):
To talk about it. It's you and I. Everyone else
is talking about it.

Speaker 1 (12:38):
No, I know, but I'm saying, like, even here, we're
broadcasting out of our elements.

Speaker 2 (12:41):
So you're not at one hundred percent right now.

Speaker 1 (12:44):
You're not as comfortable here as you are in your
comfortable studio you are every day.

Speaker 2 (12:48):
Tell what's going on? You're telling this? You tell me
this kid, it's going on lost big. Yes, I'm pretty comfy.
I'm not gonna lie that.

Speaker 3 (12:55):
You just called you a chum.

Speaker 2 (12:56):
Yea, I'm feeling handsome right now? What's going on? I
stand up? I feel prett comfy.

Speaker 1 (13:01):
Again, that's not for us to make excuses for. He's
gonna get paid. He has to adjust. Hey, spot's not
our problem.

Speaker 2 (13:08):
Gret that microphone, pass it around to anyone that wants
to chime in. I'll talk to some people. I mean,
do you think you could change another figure.

Speaker 1 (13:16):
One game judging my rooting for the guy? You want
a woman to judge you on one performance.

Speaker 2 (13:20):
In the bedroom?

Speaker 3 (13:21):
No?

Speaker 2 (13:21):
But I told you every time.

Speaker 4 (13:24):
You know, like I said, our first day on the
job isn't always a slam dunk pun intended, but you
make the adjustments. So we'd be doing a disservice to
pretend like he slayed it yesterday.

Speaker 2 (13:34):
He did it.

Speaker 1 (13:35):
Now, By the way, are you sort of glad we
didn't pay the seven hundred dollars to go to the game? Oh? Yeah,
it would have been fun, though, it would have been fun.
What do you think, man, what's your name? What do
you think you could we judge wim Benyama yet at all?

Speaker 2 (13:47):
That's absolutely not Yeah, that's not even good question. How
did you think he performed though yesterday? Yeah?

Speaker 1 (13:53):
Cover doesn't matter, It doesn't matter. But he did have
a pretty average.

Speaker 2 (13:59):
But who have that good Supper League performance? Right? No,
but you can't. We can't stay here in line say
he was great because he was well, he wasn't great.

Speaker 6 (14:06):
But there was other people who were great in Summer
League and they didn't even make the league.

Speaker 2 (14:10):
That's a great correct the last Supper League MVPs. No, no,
you're right, but you put you on the spot.

Speaker 1 (14:18):
Oh no, no, no, no, but I will I will tell
you this.

Speaker 4 (14:20):
The fact that he's coming here with so much cloud,
people are out to get him and he has to
play knowing.

Speaker 6 (14:25):
That the last dude that really did good Sumber League
was probably like davy A Lili than Blake Griffin.

Speaker 2 (14:32):
Right, that literally it.

Speaker 1 (14:33):
But we're also seeing the Summer League grow into something
more because.

Speaker 2 (14:37):
Of names like his.

Speaker 1 (14:38):
We got NBA con right, dude, have you seen the
sphere that's over social media?

Speaker 6 (14:43):
The Supper League is were like Drew Timneys and stuff
like that.

Speaker 1 (14:46):
It had that reputation, but we're seeing it grow thanks
to Yeah.

Speaker 2 (14:49):
Well true, thanks to this. But you can't judge him, No, no, no,
Bill be Actually one last nay.

Speaker 1 (14:53):
Do you think he's a nineteen year old dude that's
probably well aware of everything going on around them?

Speaker 2 (14:57):
Do you think the Britney thing bothered him? In all?
I don't need this didn't help.

Speaker 6 (15:02):
I mean, it doesn't help. Like you've been an NBA
player and a white lady slack. So he's already like NBA.
So it's like, welcome to the NBA. You got already
in the scandal.

Speaker 2 (15:13):
Right.

Speaker 4 (15:13):
Let me make this clear too, he's a he's a
young kid, right. I am rooting for this guy all
the way. We're just calling it as we see it
so far.

Speaker 2 (15:20):
Right.

Speaker 4 (15:20):
I'm not one of those hater dudes that that is
rooting against the guy saying when Bustiama, that's the online
social media culture.

Speaker 2 (15:27):
That's not what we're about.

Speaker 4 (15:29):
But I did say he made one mistake, and I
think I was right about this. He should have squashed
at Britney Spears stuff immediately. He definitely should have apologized,
even if he's not a fan, he should have pretended like, yo, man,
what an honor. I'm a fan, I'm so sorry that happened.

Speaker 2 (15:43):
And he didn't do any of that.

Speaker 6 (15:45):
So and after herself though, So why would apologize for that?

Speaker 2 (15:49):
Because I should apologize for slapping carself.

Speaker 1 (15:51):
Maybe that would have implicated him legally and he wanted
to stay away from that. But had he done that,
the whole Britney army would have backed off and said,
you know what, misunderstanding, and because he didn't and because
he had a stinker of a game yesterday. If you
go to social media, and that's sort of how we
engaged the temperature of what's going on. People are sort
of hating the guy unnecessarily.

Speaker 6 (16:13):
The beehive of the Brittany army.

Speaker 2 (16:15):
That's a great question. Taylor Swifts. Taylor Swift fans a
bunch of little white girls. And Rich he's a simpty,
he's a scripty. Thank you man, thank you very much.

Speaker 1 (16:24):
You know, I do think that we're gonna forget about
this very quick. Britney's already moved on. Did you see
the New Britney.

Speaker 2 (16:29):
News after the slap stole?

Speaker 1 (16:32):
She stole a table in Vegas from Pauli Shore, one
of your favorites.

Speaker 2 (16:35):
I mean, is it that hard? No offense at the table?
I like Pauly Shore, though I do, He's such a
nice guy.

Speaker 1 (16:41):
But when you're Britney Spears, I think that becomes the priority.

Speaker 3 (16:45):
Right.

Speaker 4 (16:45):
So look, I'd love to talk to more people. There's
a lot of people here for NBA con Now. Rich
was putting questions and feedback in that guy's mouth.

Speaker 2 (16:53):
No one said you could judge him based on that.
No one ever said that you can't. You absolutely can't.
No one would ever want to be judged off of
their first performance or firstly at the job.

Speaker 5 (17:04):
I feel like in a year from now, when we're
at the second NBA Con, we're gonna remember the Britney thing,
but we're not going to remember his.

Speaker 2 (17:11):
First I agree, first appearance. You know what, Danny g
you're the resident NBA guru. I mean, what was your assessment? Man?

Speaker 4 (17:17):
You saw he sort of got or looked frazzled under pressure.
That's what I saw in all the highlights and when
I was watching.

Speaker 5 (17:23):
A little bit, I mean he missed his first three shots,
including a dunk, and then he had like a five
footer that that he made, and he he came on.

Speaker 3 (17:31):
A little bit.

Speaker 5 (17:32):
I think Rich made a good point how he looked.

Speaker 2 (17:36):
Yeah, that's one that's only.

Speaker 4 (17:38):
Eight less than Wahad yesterday. And by the way, he
hit one three pointer. Yeah, guys, he's kind of the
end of the game. And that airball he threw it.

Speaker 3 (17:47):
But but here's the thing I noticed. Did you see
his slick passing?

Speaker 6 (17:51):
Yes?

Speaker 2 (17:52):
Yes, yes, talk about that.

Speaker 5 (17:53):
His athleticism and certain elements of his game for how
big he is?

Speaker 2 (17:59):
That is a may The question is, if we're going
to talk to more people, is you know, what do
you how do you think he looked yesterday? You can't
obviously assess anything from that, but what do you think?

Speaker 1 (18:12):
How did you because there was potential there, he's a
big How about game two?

Speaker 2 (18:16):
Well, that's the big assessment.

Speaker 1 (18:18):
By the way, did you see what happened with Brandon
Miller and Christina Aguilera.

Speaker 2 (18:21):
I'm kidding, So let's move on Covino Rich NBA con.

Speaker 1 (18:27):
Now, something else in the world of sports we had
to get to, which was Kim Kardashian saying that she's
got a crush on Tom Brady and they were seeing
hanging as they're saying friends, but if she's saying she
has a crush on Tom, I hate to be crude here.
We're an NBA con with a bunch of kids and everything,
But you hate.

Speaker 2 (18:47):
To be but you must.

Speaker 1 (18:48):
If you're Tom, would you go there just for fun?

Speaker 2 (18:52):
Yes? Absolutely?

Speaker 4 (18:55):
According to People magazine, Tom Brady seen talking to Kim
at that a List Hampton's party fourth July weekend. Kim
says they're not in a relationship, but she's had a
longtime crushed on the guy, their friends and have a
lot of respect for each other.

Speaker 1 (19:11):
A source tells people of the NFL pro and the
Skim's mogul.

Speaker 4 (19:15):
Now, I think you're fooling yourself to think that Tom
Brady doesn't have the wherewithal in the games to say, well,
to put it kindly, it doesn't mean we need to
be a thing. But it would only be right if
we smashed. I think that's the only way, and I
think that's a guarantee.

Speaker 1 (19:33):
It's the NBA count that's a slam dunk if you're
Tom Brady, whose image changes more if that happens.

Speaker 2 (19:42):
I think.

Speaker 4 (19:44):
Tom Brady's because Tom Brady has this vibe about him
that he's mister perfect. He's like the current Hennig of
the NFL, and as you like to point out.

Speaker 2 (19:53):
Rich, he's had his mistakes along the way twice.

Speaker 1 (19:57):
Why do think Tom Brady's like divorce? I mean, I'm
a bad guy, but you can't.

Speaker 2 (20:03):
Say the guy that's been divorced twice. Marriages ended divorce.
Everyone that ends in divorce, they're bad people. That doesn't
matter any I never said bad person, but when you're
comparing like he's an.

Speaker 4 (20:16):
Angel King, you can't say you know her climb and
rise to fames the same as Tom Brady's.

Speaker 2 (20:21):
And I'm a big fan of Kim Kardashian.

Speaker 1 (20:23):
But because Tom Brady has that quote unquote squeaky clean image,
depending on who you talk to, a lot of people
would think that he's too good for her.

Speaker 2 (20:33):
And again that's just the.

Speaker 4 (20:35):
Social media sort of gauge that you see because.

Speaker 2 (20:38):
A lot of people do love Tom Brady.

Speaker 1 (20:40):
The only people that really hate Tom Brady are people
that hate the Patriots. Everyone else, for the most part,
likes them.

Speaker 4 (20:45):
So the question here is, even though they're not a
couple yet, according to Kim Kardashian.

Speaker 1 (20:51):
Do you still think he'd go there? And you still
think he went there? My answer is an absolute yes.
You'll spot You got to ask these dudes again too,
because they're going to anyone that wants to chime in
swing on by. Do you think Kim k and Tom
Smashed are gonna get it on if they haven't already,
because I mean, just to know that Tom has they
have a Smashburger together, she's single. I wanted to happen.

(21:14):
I just want to see what Kanye West says it
would be.

Speaker 2 (21:17):
It would be a disservice for them not to get
it on. He's like, Yo, I'm the goat and you're
Kim Kimmy Cakes. We got to make this happen just
to say we.

Speaker 5 (21:27):
Did, even if it's just so we could watch port.
They have more meltdown.

Speaker 2 (21:30):
Oh my god. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (21:31):
So Jim and Bust are like, stay away from Tom dating.

Speaker 2 (21:36):
I mean I think he would go there though. I
don't know if they'd end up dating, but I think
that they could bring out the best of each other.

Speaker 4 (21:42):
I'm actually rooting for that. So again I may say
I'm really opinionated. I'm rooting for Wembin Yama.

Speaker 2 (21:48):
I'm rooting for Kimmy Cakes and Tom Brady to get
it on. I am it's fine. I asked them. Do
you think they asked them? If he if they they
think they smashed? What do you think?

Speaker 1 (21:58):
Man, let's go, let's go on friend over here again.
I mean, think about it. Why not?

Speaker 4 (22:03):
I know Tom Brady has a lot of options, but
why wouldn't you.

Speaker 1 (22:08):
I mean, if you're an athlete, the reputation of getting
with Kim Kardashian might not help Tom Brady. But you
know what, I think it makes Kim look like she's
looking for a different type of guy.

Speaker 2 (22:20):
Now, Yeah, like you said, maybe they could. It could
bring out the best in both of them. Maybe it's
what they need, it completes them.

Speaker 4 (22:28):
It could work. I don't see why not. They could
change each other's life. But what guy put it this way?
What guy wouldn't take that opportunity? If she threw it
out there, she said she crushes on him.

Speaker 1 (22:41):
You had this, You and I had this argument in
disagreement when Tom Brady was first single.

Speaker 2 (22:46):
I said he was focused on football and he was
chilling at home, And you're.

Speaker 1 (22:48):
Like, no, he's already got lines of women that he's
secretly bringing in and out.

Speaker 2 (22:52):
I still stand by that.

Speaker 1 (22:53):
I said this sometimes where he's not gonna kiss and tell,
he's not that tight.

Speaker 2 (22:58):
You do not want to kick and tell? Do you
think hang with the Kardashians.

Speaker 4 (23:02):
It's not his style. That's why he would keep it
under wraps. I just don't think it's his style of
advertise that type of thing. But if she's throwing it
out there, why wouldn't he go there. He's a single
man looking for a good time. Why wouldn't he just
just to say that he did. I think everybody under
the moon would do it just to say that they did.
So that's the other update. They're not an official thing,

(23:23):
but she does have a crush on him. When some
is throwing it out there like that and you're a
single guy, you know.

Speaker 2 (23:31):
My instincts would say he's doing it.

Speaker 1 (23:33):
If you guys want to chime in anyone swing by
Kevin on rich NBA con do you think Tom Brady
and Kim is going to happen?

Speaker 2 (23:41):
She smashed Chris humphreyes. She's saying she's got a crush
on Tom Brady? Do you think Tom Brady? I mean,
do you think Tom Brady would be looked at different
if he went there? I think it'd be cooler.

Speaker 6 (23:53):
The Kardashian cars is real though, you think, but his
career's done already sucks.

Speaker 5 (23:59):
It's like, how dare you slander in Las veg I'm
a d fan, but I mean, unfortunately, but do you
think he's above it though?

Speaker 2 (24:09):
Meaning if she's stoning it out there that she's interested.

Speaker 1 (24:12):
Kim Kay says, yo, I have a crush on Tom Brady.
Would he be a fool to not go there? Well,
what he just got the Neverork deal.

Speaker 7 (24:18):
So you know that that might that you know that
that might look you know, some good publicity, but in
a you know, any publicity is good publicity, right, So
so you know, you know, having having that Kim Kardashian
behind him, you know, makes it more makes it more interesting.
I think, like you said, like you said, he's got
this kind of like, you.

Speaker 2 (24:34):
Know, boy scout. Let's take this boy scout thing about it.

Speaker 7 (24:37):
You know, it gets him in that Bardashan like completely
flips the whole, the whole.

Speaker 2 (24:42):
I do think about it.

Speaker 1 (24:43):
I agree because I think Tom Brady in Boston, when
he was in New England, that was like quiet, lame
Tom Brady. Tampa, tom Brady became like that guy's a
cooler guy. Now if he's doing this is like next level,
Like we're starting to see, oh, that's why everyone loves
in the locker room. Everyone from every background age was
all like, yo, we love Tom Brady. We were always like, really, okay,
seems sort of nerdy and quiet.

Speaker 7 (25:03):
Well, you know, I got a roof from because I'm
a California boy. He's a California kid. But at the
same time, when I saw when we saw him, we
saw him at the parade and he was smashed. You know,
you know, you know what you might you might be
able to hang with, you might be to hang in
his cart.

Speaker 4 (25:18):
But yeah, you got a simplify it, they're too successful
good looking people.

Speaker 2 (25:22):
You put too successful good looking people in a room partying,
drinking a little bit. One thing leads to another. So
for us to assume.

Speaker 1 (25:29):
That like no, yeah, the answers, yeah, I bet you
they are gonna get.

Speaker 2 (25:34):
It on, maybe not be a serious thing, but the
answer is yes, I don't. I don't see what I mean.

Speaker 7 (25:40):
You know, he's probably had a tar dashing like already
you know, so he's already in the mix, you know,
I mean, you know, just you don't just get a
supermodel and and not be in the mix already your
way here.

Speaker 2 (25:52):
Let's not make it seem like Tom's all conservative.

Speaker 7 (25:54):
You know, he's no, no, no, no, because after you know,
once we saw that, when we saw on the on
the parade, I was like, oh.

Speaker 2 (26:01):
You know he's that's the real.

Speaker 7 (26:03):
Time held up, like he's getting held up like wee
getting at Bernie's.

Speaker 1 (26:08):
And you know what his best buddy is grunk Kowski,
who was like the ultimate like frat dudes.

Speaker 7 (26:13):
There it is Oh wow, at that element to it, right,
you know the house party, you got Kim, Kim and
our people's grunk kowski.

Speaker 1 (26:22):
You know, by the way, I'm trying to keep it low,
but I got I saw I saw a tweet that said, uh.

Speaker 4 (26:27):
Tom Brady hadn't hadn't played with the nast that big
since Antonio Brown, which.

Speaker 2 (26:35):
Might be true, which might be true.

Speaker 3 (26:36):
We don't know.

Speaker 7 (26:37):
We don't know, right because because you know, for you
know that working out with Derek Carr.

Speaker 2 (26:41):
So for me, it just makes sense. Man. It's like
the captain of the football team and the hot year leader.
It just goes hand in hand.

Speaker 1 (26:49):
I don't think any any one of them are above
this just being a thing.

Speaker 2 (26:53):
What do you think, Mike? So here's the deal.

Speaker 8 (26:56):
Yeah, Tom Brady's not like you and me and everybody else.
He can nail whatever tail he puts, Like, why does
he need to be in.

Speaker 1 (27:04):
Because by Kim, she's a modern day Cleopatrick. That's why
she's not. She's not every other person either. She's a
billionaire who's hot because at that level, listen, do you
not remember you?

Speaker 2 (27:15):
Of course, but he's not looking for a wife.

Speaker 8 (27:17):
But my point is he's already been in that tier.
There's nothing, there's no adventure other than now.

Speaker 2 (27:24):
The second thing, too, is that he kind of does
have to check out the freaking he doesn't. How could
you not? That's a that's a singular experience. I'm sure.

Speaker 1 (27:37):
I think even his kids one day when they're older,
I'm like, Dad, please tell me you just you went there.

Speaker 8 (27:41):
But the problem is is when when you get in
with Kim K you know you're going to be all
over everywhere about like you can hide that.

Speaker 2 (27:48):
There's no way to hide.

Speaker 1 (27:49):
Listen, when you're Tom Brady, you could get probably anyone,
but he doesn't want just good looking the cloud of
Kim K.

Speaker 2 (27:57):
Dude, it's probably that.

Speaker 1 (28:00):
We're not saying relationship. We're saying they got it on
to think that's impossible.

Speaker 2 (28:05):
What's your name? My name is Shelby.

Speaker 1 (28:08):
Would you think differently of Tom Brady if you started
hooking up with Kim Kardashian.

Speaker 7 (28:13):
I don't.

Speaker 2 (28:14):
Yeah, I don't think i'd be a huge fan of that.
Why does it.

Speaker 1 (28:18):
Does it benefit either one? Does it make Kim look
better or Tom look better?

Speaker 9 (28:21):
Or I mean, this is like a whole conversation about
Kim Kardashian, like her influence in general and what that means.
And I mean, this is like a personal opinion, but
I guess the way that the way that their family
has influenced pop culture or something that I'm not a
fan of, So somebody to be involved with that, I.

Speaker 4 (28:41):
Guess maybe Tom Brady's that balance that works, you know
what I mean, that.

Speaker 2 (28:45):
Changes everything she gives. She gives Tom tom.

Speaker 4 (28:49):
And edge because he's kind of corny a little bit,
and then you know, he brings this light into their
their image.

Speaker 2 (28:56):
Are they actually it's actually a thing. It's possible. She said.

Speaker 1 (28:59):
There was a rumor they be together, and then it
came out that Kim said she has a huge crush
on Tom, but they're just friends.

Speaker 2 (29:04):
We're like, if that's all.

Speaker 9 (29:05):
A publicity, s everything they do is a publicity.

Speaker 2 (29:07):
You know.

Speaker 1 (29:08):
I'm glad you said that too, because in today's world,
you never know. Thank you, right, thank you, thank you Shelby,
Thank you guys for hanging out with us. By the way,
NBA Con first ever NBA Con.

Speaker 2 (29:19):
Want to be here, you.

Speaker 4 (29:20):
Know, there is something special about being here on the
ground up of this thing. Because I'm here and we're
on the streets that this is the first of many,
and not only yearly, but like the first of like maybe.

Speaker 2 (29:31):
Five other ones this year.

Speaker 4 (29:33):
So I'm telling you now, if you're listening on our podcast,
if you could take your family or your friends, come.

Speaker 2 (29:38):
Out here to Mandalay Bay. By the way, Mandalay.

Speaker 4 (29:40):
Baylor itself is glorious.

Speaker 2 (29:44):
Man.

Speaker 4 (29:44):
I feel like i hadn't been here in a while,
and I'm having such a great time at Mandalay Bay alone, dinners,
just people watching. And then you add the NBA con
to it. If you can come back the next time around,
you gotta make it a trip and again, bring bring
the kids with you, your friends with you, have some drinks.

Speaker 2 (30:02):
A lot of performers. Dude, I heard Tea two Chains
is performing.

Speaker 3 (30:06):
Two Change is going to be on stage.

Speaker 5 (30:08):
So again past there this evening, so there's going to
be a lot of people in there, Danny G.

Speaker 2 (30:12):
Like we said, it's more about the culture and the lifestyle.

Speaker 1 (30:15):
Lots of gear, lots of NBA gear, sneakers, sweatshirts, hats, lots.

Speaker 3 (30:21):
Of vendors big and small.

Speaker 5 (30:22):
We were at the Amazon area over there, and they
have a really cool idea that they have brought to life,
which is oh, you're holding it right here.

Speaker 2 (30:32):
They got exclusive merchandise.

Speaker 1 (30:33):
Yeah, you walk through water your stuff and then they
send it to your house and you'll get up by
the time you get home.

Speaker 2 (30:38):
You can get a lot of it here, which is
pretty cool.

Speaker 5 (30:40):
You can shop for exclusive items and then you don't
have to lug it around hats.

Speaker 4 (30:44):
Like I said, music, food, NBA con If you've ever
been to any sort of professional sports fan fest, it's
sort of like that, but with live performances and music.
They have the basketball quote over there.

Speaker 2 (30:57):
You know what. I thought it was pretty interesting.

Speaker 3 (30:59):
Papa shot.

Speaker 2 (31:00):
Oh yeah, kids kid.

Speaker 5 (31:02):
The first two things we saw Slams in the Lion,
which is the Sacramento King's mascot, and then light.

Speaker 2 (31:09):
Beam shut the condor. Yes, yeah, a lot of the
mascots are here.

Speaker 4 (31:14):
But again a full on court where celebrities are coming
out and they're playing, they're having contest, they're shooting around,
and I'm seeing lots of kids running around doing the gritty.
The gritty is still a thing, apparently, lots of kids
doing the gritty.

Speaker 2 (31:26):
And then to the.

Speaker 4 (31:27):
Left of the basketball court that they have here at
this convention, they have a pickleball court, and I'm wondering, like,
are they trying to tie the two lifestyles together or
are they just capitalizing on the fact that pickleball is
like the hot it's arrangement.

Speaker 1 (31:42):
You know, I want to switch gears for a thinking
because as I'm thinking we're here.

Speaker 2 (31:45):
In Vegas NBA Con, two things come to mind.

Speaker 1 (31:48):
I'm playing roulette and by the way, I'm trying to
compose myself the strip. I know you always say that
the Vegas is a city where I just get out
of control.

Speaker 4 (31:56):
Well, you know, all your vices are here in one place.
I love love for women, food, right, gambling, dambling, spending money,
just stopping.

Speaker 2 (32:06):
Just to tie it all to sports.

Speaker 1 (32:08):
When you see people at a roulette table, is everyone
just playing the favorite jersey numbers of their of the
guys that they rooted for their whole loves. I like
you and you don't gamble, But I feel like any
time I'm like you don't pick a number, you're like
twenty three the day your kid was born, maybe your
lucky number or your favorite players that your your favorite

(32:28):
player's number is always going to be a part of
that equation that is that everyone's strategy. Yeah, these guys
right here spot when you're playing any game, I feel
like it's I'm like eight, why eight?

Speaker 2 (32:37):
I'll tell you why eight?

Speaker 1 (32:38):
Gary Carter, Steve Young, sixteen, Joe Montana, Dwyke Goodin like
you play?

Speaker 2 (32:43):
Do you play your favorite player's numbers? Is that the rule?
You guys gambling while you're here or what? Well? Heck, yeah,
we get, but what's your process?

Speaker 8 (32:51):
Like?

Speaker 2 (32:51):
What numbers are you throwing out there? It's always a
for Kobe. I can't believe you forgot the eight too.

Speaker 1 (32:58):
For Kobe when you mention an eight, I know you
know what, because I think of I think Gary Carter's permit,
he said, he said, Bill Dickey and you before he said, god, yeah, no,
I've said.

Speaker 2 (33:08):
Danny played eight and twenty four double up.

Speaker 5 (33:10):
Of course, and I played thirty two for Marcus Allen,
thirty four for bo Jackson. Gotta go there. But yeah,
wait for Shock too, for Shack too. But you hear
Rich all the time. He'll be there and it'll be like,
uh read eighteen and then Brock perty shout.

Speaker 2 (33:26):
I'm telling you Red sixteen forty nine or Homies Still yeah.

Speaker 1 (33:32):
Bo Jackson for sure, Yeah, and oh wait, you're saying
number forty four Reggie Jackson thirty.

Speaker 2 (33:37):
Thirty four, Oh thirty four?

Speaker 1 (33:39):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, No, A sports your your favorite athlete
is definitely part of that equation when you're damnling, I
got to ask, but.

Speaker 2 (33:45):
It's working for you more than that.

Speaker 1 (33:47):
I got to ask everyone listening and people checking out
the pod. If you go to Vegas, I know there's
so much to do here, but when you go with
one of your buddies that just doesn't gamble.

Speaker 2 (33:56):
Are they the buzzkill or like you're forcing a bit
a bit? Why are you worried about what I'm doing?
You your own dan, but you won't even bet five bucks.
I'm sitting there having a drink watching you waste your money.
What does that have to do with me? Or win money?
I'm rooting for you to win money, and I'm like, coming,
how I gotta lose money with you for you to
have fun?

Speaker 1 (34:14):
That doesn't make sense. I'm having drinks, having a good time.
But it's like you're going to the bar and you
buddies drink tonight.

Speaker 2 (34:21):
There's more to Vegas than losing your money.

Speaker 1 (34:23):
Guys, you realize there's there's a.

Speaker 2 (34:26):
Fantastic shirt to sleigh show here. I want to see it.

Speaker 1 (34:29):
I like dinners on the company's dime. That's fantastic. I
like looking at beautiful women.

Speaker 4 (34:34):
There's lots going on having a nice drink, right, I mean, man,
people watching in Vegas is next level. While you're gambling
and you're all focused on these numbers, I'm looking at
the beautiful legs walking by. So I mean, I'm having
my own fun. Don't let us stop you from having fun.
But it's it's so great to be here, guys. I'm
telling you if you can get to Vegas. And by
the way, if you're listening to the podcast, please check

(34:54):
us out Monday through Friday, five pm on the East,
two pm on the West, on Fox Sports Rate, and
on an iHeartRadio app anytime. Covino and Rich Everything at
Cavino and Rich. We live from the Mandalay Bay in Vegas.

Speaker 1 (35:07):
The first ever NBA Gone Again two chains tonight and
who else is stopping by because there's a lot of
big names just walking by, a lot of NBA players
are just here for this big week of the Summer League.
We'll probably jump into Isaiah Thomas because he's gonna be
popping here after us.

Speaker 2 (35:21):
Oh okay, that's awesome.

Speaker 4 (35:23):
Yeah, so legends, superstars, superstars in the making. And you know,
like like our friends said before, he had a Summer
League definitely had this reputation of not mattering that much.

Speaker 2 (35:33):
But that's what they're trying to change.

Speaker 4 (35:35):
And that's why we're here at this convention, and that's
why that game last night got so much hype.

Speaker 2 (35:40):
They're really putting a lot into it, and with.

Speaker 4 (35:43):
Guys like Gwen bin Yama, you know, even more reason
for people to play harder than they ever played before.

Speaker 5 (35:49):
There was a big write up in the New York
Times this morning praising the efforts by the NBA and
the Summer League because they said just a year ago
it would have been half full there at the topas Center,
and now last night even Rich who was up at
the tables, couldn't buy a ticket.

Speaker 1 (36:07):
Let me tell you, you look at what the NBA has done,
and you look at what the NFL has done.

Speaker 2 (36:12):
And I got to ask when we were younger.

Speaker 1 (36:15):
I don't know, maybe I'm just thinking in the moment
and I'm thinking I'm not remembering correctly, but the off
season for any sport was sort of like that's the
off season. Now, off season fan fest, everything for NBA
comes to you know. I feel like the NBA and
the NFL have done such a great job making the
off seasons full of excitement, where previously you're like, oh,

(36:37):
season's over, see you next year, And you're seeing it
here at the NBA con Rich Like I said, because
I can't stress it enough, the NBA is more than
just the game.

Speaker 2 (36:45):
It's a lifestyle. Guys that ball, guys that dress in
the NBA sort of style. The hip hop culture is
very evident here, So it's more than just basketball. It's
about the lifestyle, ball in his life.

Speaker 1 (36:58):
For so many people out there are just being part
of the NBA part of that culture. You can see
there's just a different swag here with at this convention.

Speaker 3 (37:07):
Just when we did.

Speaker 5 (37:07):
Our lap around, I saw a couple of players tattooed
on fans.

Speaker 2 (37:12):
Yeah, it's a culture, for sure.

Speaker 3 (37:13):
It is in the whole lifestyle.

Speaker 5 (37:15):
And back there, did you see the clothes that the jerseys.

Speaker 3 (37:19):
That were stuck in old LP Like.

Speaker 2 (37:21):
Yeah, yeah, that's so so cool. I love like old
school under rust.

Speaker 5 (37:25):
I mean since the days of Curtis Blow, hip hop
and basketball.

Speaker 3 (37:29):
Have gone together.

Speaker 5 (37:31):
Yeah, they've gone together like Kobe and Shack for years.

Speaker 2 (37:34):
Yep.

Speaker 4 (37:34):
And so my point was, even though the season mayn
the culture still lives. So this just just keeps it going.
Uh So happy to be here guys and bring you
some of the fun live Cavino and Rich for the
first ever one.

Speaker 1 (37:48):
Now, as I was waking up this morning, did a
little gambling, got a coffee, walked, I went to the gym,
I went.

Speaker 2 (37:57):
To the and so to man, when.

Speaker 1 (38:01):
You are in Las Vegas, do you then now there's
two options here at the MGM when you go to
the pool. Yeah, I went to the pool to be
honest with you that I went to the pool just
to see if there was booties to look at them.

Speaker 3 (38:15):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (38:15):
And I'm there at the pool and there's one side
of the pool where it's free. It's like all families
and stuff, and then you got to pay to get
in like the good side of the pool. Are you
paying to go to the pool in a hotel spot?

Speaker 4 (38:29):
Yeah, if you're a single guy, you should because that's
where the quote unquote talent is.

Speaker 3 (38:34):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (38:35):
If you want to take your your.

Speaker 1 (38:38):
Your experience next level, then the answers, yes, I took a.

Speaker 2 (38:42):
Walk around in the family section. I'm like, yeah, I'm
gonna I might have to pay to go to the
cool You want to pay? Yeah, you want to be
in the good section.

Speaker 3 (38:50):
How much was it?

Speaker 2 (38:51):
I just saw that maybe I'll you.

Speaker 1 (38:53):
I don't know the admission, but I saw it said
coben is start at eight hundred, and I'm like.

Speaker 2 (38:58):
It was seventy five dollars. It's just to get in
the good gym.

Speaker 3 (39:01):
I don't need it that much.

Speaker 2 (39:02):
I would here.

Speaker 1 (39:03):
You know, I'll tell you what Vegas is great at
making you feel like your money is imaginary.

Speaker 2 (39:08):
It really is.

Speaker 1 (39:08):
It's like you would like you're playing twenty five to
fifty dollars hands. You would never throw around money the
way you throw around chips. And even something as simple
as I went to Starbucks this morning.

Speaker 2 (39:18):
You know that little the little turkey bacon egg white sandwich.

Speaker 1 (39:21):
It's like four bucks have to Starbucks here, So everything
like it's imaginary money.

Speaker 2 (39:27):
When you're in Vegas, have fun, live it up.

Speaker 1 (39:29):
But when you go to the pool, I don't think
you can go to the regular pool.

Speaker 2 (39:33):
And have the experience you want to have. I really
don't think what experience do you want to have rich
you want to be having nice sights surround you. I
mean you're also here with your wife, you.

Speaker 1 (39:43):
Know, so I think it depends where you and your relationship.
Are you a single guy or not? All these things
factor into that decision.

Speaker 2 (39:52):
You said it was eight hundred. Yeah, my room overlooks
the pool.

Speaker 3 (39:55):
I'll just go spend fifty bucks on monoculars.

Speaker 2 (39:57):
Yeah, you should have brought about it.

Speaker 3 (40:00):
Let's go security. NBA consecurity, that's cheap.

Speaker 1 (40:06):
So let me let me ask you something that I
heard someone say. Well, get back to the NBA for
a second. We are at NBA con, but Vegas is
just such an amazing city to have any party or
convention at right when you look around, I want you
to take a look around at the kids, the adults,
and everyone rocking their gear in their jerseys proudly.

Speaker 2 (40:25):
By the way, I love that I.

Speaker 1 (40:27):
Heard someone make the point that a lot of the
great young stars, who's going to be huge, Luca, A
lot of these guys are European players. Who is who's
the who's the big American born NBA star? Now, Because
when you say Yannis, when you say and you say Luca,

(40:50):
those are three dudes that are dominant, but they're not
They're not like a regular American dude.

Speaker 2 (40:55):
There, they're these great foreign job joh got a little
trouble this year before the bad stories to go over.

Speaker 3 (41:02):
There, Jock.

Speaker 1 (41:03):
If Jock cleans it up and you know, serves the
suspension and you know did the apology? Is he the
guy is John Moranth the star American player.

Speaker 2 (41:11):
You're saying of the past few when you look around,
like what Jersey is the younger guys, yes, spot grab
this guy the mic.

Speaker 1 (41:17):
Over there, the younger guys. Devin Booker, the younger Devin Booker.

Speaker 5 (41:21):
Yeah, don't don't forget Jason Tatum, right, Tatum and Booker Brown, Yeah,
some of those players.

Speaker 4 (41:29):
But there is a sense of that these younger farm
players come in with a with a greater maturity than
a lot of the American players because they were playing
with men for so long. Luca, for example, was playing
professionally at sixteen.

Speaker 3 (41:42):
So play yesterday?

Speaker 2 (41:44):
How was that I missed? How?

Speaker 10 (41:46):
How did you he got hurt in the third quarter?
But he was monster in the first quarter thirteen points?

Speaker 3 (41:51):
You know what?

Speaker 2 (41:52):
And what were your observations on wimben Yama? Because we
were talking about that earlier, so I'm just curious what
you saw.

Speaker 10 (41:57):
Oh that's a tough one, okay, I mean he's eighteen
years old.

Speaker 2 (42:01):
Yeah, I think he's nineteen. I mean years he's a
young kid.

Speaker 1 (42:05):
Yeah, this is gonna be a dude can't dude, can't
have a drink.

Speaker 3 (42:08):
You know, he was a big.

Speaker 10 (42:11):
I think he's gonna be more of a big difference
on defense, yeah, down the road than offense.

Speaker 1 (42:17):
Yeah, even on some of those you saw some pretty
sweet blocks you saw. I made the weirdest observation because
it's such a it seems like a simpleton observation.

Speaker 2 (42:25):
But when you have a guy at that size drive
into the basket, his.

Speaker 1 (42:29):
Dripple is so high, you see a lot of guys
swiping in there like when a seven foot five when
was Have you ever seen guys that are seven to
five drive into the basket like that?

Speaker 10 (42:38):
He also ran down the court. He'd flowed out to
the three point line. Yeah, and then he wasn't taking
big steps or big dribbles on his drive, a little slow.

Speaker 3 (42:47):
Up and down.

Speaker 10 (42:48):
He's a work in progress, absolutely, yeah, and you could
see the skill set right agree.

Speaker 2 (42:53):
My big question is is he a dog. Does he
have a mean streak?

Speaker 10 (42:58):
Does he have he's taking over?

Speaker 2 (43:00):
Give me the ball? Nobody knows.

Speaker 1 (43:02):
He seems like a good, smiley kid, right. He seems
like he's happy to be here.

Speaker 2 (43:05):
You're right. I want to see that dog side of him.

Speaker 10 (43:07):
I want him to look in my eyes and say
I'm taking over the game.

Speaker 2 (43:10):
I don't know if he'll ever have that, but well
we shall see. Thank you man, you know what.

Speaker 1 (43:14):
And I think on a side note, like, no one
wants to be on the side of this where you're
rooting against the guy unless you hate.

Speaker 2 (43:19):
The Spurs for some ridiculous reason.

Speaker 1 (43:21):
Right, Like, but we do live in a culture where
people do want to see this guy bust. I do
want to let it be known that we're not rooting
against him. It'd be awesome to see him grow and
develop into a force in the NBA.

Speaker 2 (43:35):
For sure.

Speaker 1 (43:36):
But when I said, take a look around, right, yeah,
a lot of great people here.

Speaker 2 (43:40):
In NBA con what do you see what?

Speaker 1 (43:43):
You've seen a lot of Lakers, right, I mean, I
know we're in Vegas, so LA's close.

Speaker 2 (43:46):
Seen a lot of Lakers stuff.

Speaker 3 (43:47):
Definitely have seen a lot of Lakers gears.

Speaker 1 (43:49):
And you know, what the crazy part is no offense
to Lebron or Austin Reeves or anyone on the team.

Speaker 2 (43:54):
A lot of great tribute. It's a lot of Kobe.

Speaker 1 (43:56):
Yeah, you know, you realize like the impact he made
and even after his you know, sad passing, it seems
like a lot of people then went out to be like, yo,
I need to represent Kobe Bryant.

Speaker 2 (44:06):
You even got your Dodgers Lakers hybrid jersey.

Speaker 3 (44:09):
On, the hybrid number eight jersey on today.

Speaker 1 (44:12):
So I feel like Kobe gets just you know, a
hell of a lot of love, rightfully.

Speaker 2 (44:16):
So you see a lot of Laker stuff. And by
the way, there's more reason to head to Vegas man,
not only the NBA Con, but that sphere that they're
promoting this week that's going hand in hand with the
NBA Con.

Speaker 1 (44:30):
It's not just us because we're here. It's all over
social media. To my wife goes, is that real?

Speaker 2 (44:36):
Yes, it's right. Have you seen this? The spirit's unbelieved.

Speaker 4 (44:39):
It's like the highest in acoustics that you could possibly experience.

Speaker 2 (44:43):
You two's playing there in September and it holds.

Speaker 4 (44:46):
About fifteen thousand people, right, But the quality of this
thing is so next level. I heard that they were
having difficulties at first getting the LEDs to work and
getting it to work right. And now that they got
it right, they've created the this sphere and.

Speaker 2 (45:01):
A billion dollars multi billion dollar sphere in Vegas, and
they turned it into an NBA basketball to promote this
summer league and NBA Con and everything. And I'm telling
you it adds to that hype. Did you see it
as a huge basketball? That's what I'm saying. I say
I've seen some funny jokes online.

Speaker 1 (45:17):
Though. I saw someone they put on the sphere the
dude would that's sitting at the end of the bed. Yeah,
somebody I've seen. I've seen a lot of themes about
the sphere.

Speaker 2 (45:27):
Yeah, it's incredible.

Speaker 1 (45:29):
If you haven't seen it, if you don't know what
we're talking about, definitely worth looking up.

Speaker 2 (45:33):
Because I'm just predicting this. You're gonna be taking a
trip in the next few months few years to not
only go to NBA Con as this continues to grow, but.

Speaker 1 (45:43):
To see a concert, an exclusive concert from a big
band like you two or Coldplay, or any rock band
or hip hop band that you're into. With fifteen thousand
other people at the height of acoustics and technology.

Speaker 5 (45:57):
I've read a review saying that this is the best
yep you can ever hear live music, and it only
costs two billion dollars.

Speaker 2 (46:06):
It was to put two billion, right.

Speaker 1 (46:07):
To make billion with a beat, by my point, a perspective,
to put a perspective. Can google google real quick how
much it costs to build, like when they did the
new Yankee Stadium and when they did a new arena,
Like what what is How do you compare two.

Speaker 2 (46:21):
Billion to what? What was the last big arena they built?
Your stadium? I don't know, but a lot went into this,
This three hundred and sixty six foot tall sphere wrapped
in one point two million LED bucks to make five
hundred and eighty thousand square foot fully programmable.

Speaker 4 (46:37):
LED exterior lights. It's the largest LED screen on earth.
And this is just adding to.

Speaker 1 (46:44):
The hype of NBA Con and the opening week of
Summer League because they've turned it into a basketball and honestly,
it's gonna cause it's gonna cause accidents unfortunately here in
Las Vegas, because it's.

Speaker 2 (46:55):
That distract This is interesting.

Speaker 1 (46:57):
Yeah, the spear you speak of, Yeah, cost roughly so
like a little bit more but around the same price
as Allegiant, where the Raiders now play here in Vegas.
So we're talking about like.

Speaker 4 (47:10):
Again, it no only holds fifteen thousand. I say only
because those stadiums.

Speaker 2 (47:14):
Hold a lot. Now Allegian, would you look like a
huge room BA? Yeah? Yeah, it's like two bill each puck.

Speaker 1 (47:19):
Each LED puck contains forty eight individual LED diodes, with
each diode capable of displaying two hundred and fifty six
million different colors. So the capabilities of this sphere is
next level and it gets everybody hyped up. Like Spotty
and I were in an Uber like, oh, there it is,
and it's welcoming everybody to Vegas.

Speaker 2 (47:39):
For this NBA thing. It just makes you feel even
cooler about the experience, you know how, I know it's
a big deal. Now.

Speaker 1 (47:45):
My Uber driver said, can I just bring each to
your hell your hotel or do you need to see
anything along the way, because a lot of people now
are like, hey, pass it on.

Speaker 2 (47:52):
The well until this is what I heard from.

Speaker 1 (47:54):
You get a lot of info from Uber drivers in
Las Vegas, which is great, but late night they.

Speaker 2 (47:59):
Get all weird. Yeah, I don't want to hear a
story boy who drove around once.

Speaker 4 (48:03):
They're a little steal sketchy, but you know, they got
stories to tell and that's kind of fun. But they
said until it officially opens in September, they're giving tours out,
uh to go in there and experience what they've created,
because it's like a next level experience. Uh, even when
you're inside rich like they could they can rea.

Speaker 2 (48:22):
I don't even know what would.

Speaker 4 (48:23):
That be called spot when the chairs are rumbling and
you're getting that kind of.

Speaker 2 (48:26):
Experience from the sphere. Oh, that's like the like experience,
but like you're submersed in it. Yeah, like a fort
D experience like they have those movie theaters where the seats.

Speaker 1 (48:37):
Move yeah yeah, or like the amusement have like the
lines like yeah four D.

Speaker 2 (48:43):
So I can't wait to see a show Man. Eventually
we'll get there.

Speaker 1 (48:46):
But again that's part of the experience this week for
NBA come.

Speaker 2 (48:50):
You know in the summer lease.

Speaker 1 (48:51):
It's funny when you think about it, how long until
the NBA is here? We got the Raiders, Oakland, gonna
bring the A's here, got all this great stuff NBA
cons here.

Speaker 2 (49:02):
It's such a great city.

Speaker 1 (49:02):
It's becoming a sports city soon enough, there's got to
be an NBA franchise.

Speaker 2 (49:08):
Where they gonna who are they gonna steal it from?
Maybe just expand expansion. I don't think you're stealing anyone.
You know what. Another great great point for sure, because
if they're bringing baseball here is already hockey here and
you can see that.

Speaker 4 (49:22):
People love that, everybody loves it. More reason for people
to come here and have a great time. Kidding me,
you know what the NBA experience would be.

Speaker 2 (49:29):
Like, Yeah, it's it's a lot amount of time. Amounter
of time. Well, hey, speaking of I just want to
throw this out there to the NBA.

Speaker 1 (49:36):
Don't know if you said just a random story, because
we're always talking like, hey man, did you see what happened? Obviously,
Michael Jordan's son is Dayton Scottie Pippens ex wife. Right,
but as of today, we don't think we make I
don't think we make a big enough deal about that.
The factory Michael Jordan's son is sleeping with Scottie Pippens

(49:59):
X what I mean, think of the dynamic duom that's
like your son, Yeah, your son dating my ex wife.

Speaker 2 (50:08):
One day, I'm gonna tell him to do that.

Speaker 3 (50:10):
Weird.

Speaker 1 (50:10):
That would be my son's only three. But you never know,
one day that would.

Speaker 2 (50:14):
Rub me the wrong way. I'm not gonna lie, even
though I don't really care, I would be like, that's
a little weird. It's very weird.

Speaker 10 (50:19):
I got two seconds. Yeah, sure, that's what else that's funny.
But or on, Scotty Pittman Jr. Was on the Lakers
last year. Yeah, Malik Beasley was also and he dated Scotty. Yeah,
well so they were on the same bench for But yeah,
I guess.

Speaker 1 (50:36):
We need to pretend that when you're at this level,
they don't play by the same rules, right, It's just
different lifestyle.

Speaker 2 (50:42):
They don't care as we shouldn't things we couldn't.

Speaker 1 (50:45):
Still, you want to date a girl once because you
found out that I had got with her.

Speaker 2 (50:48):
These guys clearly don't care about that stuff.

Speaker 1 (50:50):
I guess right, Well, today Scotty Pippen was seen with
a woman.

Speaker 4 (50:54):
Get this, and you know everyone's like, well, who's Scotty with?
So he's in man with Michael Jordan's ex wife. Now
they're trying to get people are trying to get the juice.

Speaker 3 (51:03):
I don't know. Let's call it a drop top.

Speaker 2 (51:05):
So, so Scotti's with this beautiful woman in Malibu and he's.

Speaker 1 (51:10):
Got the your favorite American gladiator. This guy looks like
No Nitro was my first favorite. You look like malib
I want everyone listening to this podcast to google Malibu
from the American Gladiators. It looks like Rich with a wigan,
I promise you. So they're in Malibu and Scottie Pippen

(51:31):
is there with the paparazzi and everything because they're probably bothering.

Speaker 2 (51:34):
I'm like, who's he with? Of course, And dude, this
woman that he's with is in the car and she
just flashes everybody it is, but.

Speaker 1 (51:41):
Not like flashes and flashes them, but she's flashing flash
bra that's nothing.

Speaker 2 (51:47):
Yeah the pictures, Yeah, show me the good picture.

Speaker 1 (51:54):
I just say I'm not saying it's a it's a juicy,
juicy story. I'm just saying that's the story as of today.
And also, uh, it looks like in the.

Speaker 2 (52:04):
World of fighting, because let's not forget UFC two ninety tonight,
Volkanovsky's fighting our boy Rich like that guy. Uh, Steve
Amiocik is fighting John Jones.

Speaker 4 (52:15):
I believe in September I believe that was announced. Again,
when you're in Vegas, it's kind of hard to keep
up with everything that's happening, right because you got so
much going on. Oh, it's actually happening Saturday, November eleventh
in New York for UFC two ninety five.

Speaker 2 (52:32):
So this weekend UFC two ninety Volkanovsky.

Speaker 4 (52:36):
Lots of great fights, so we'll have lots to talk about, uh,
not only tomorrow but throughout the week.

Speaker 2 (52:42):
Yeah, but there was one of the thoughts I've.

Speaker 1 (52:45):
Seen two ninety five is also starting to build based
on this Jones heavyweight title bout.

Speaker 2 (52:49):
One of the thought I had.

Speaker 1 (52:51):
And you know when you hear these stats, you're here
stat in sports, and you're like, how is that possible?
The Cubs, you're big Yankees fan, being that you're from
originally from Jersey.

Speaker 2 (53:02):
The Cubs beat the Yankees for the first time ever
at Yankee Stadium. Yeah, like that's got it.

Speaker 3 (53:07):
That's really crazy wild.

Speaker 4 (53:09):
There's some local rumors that they're trying to get Cody Bellen,
well mean local. I haven't seen it on a mainstream
level yet, but there's some local rumors that trying to
make some moves.

Speaker 5 (53:20):
Well, you love them in the outfield, that defense, and
he will frustrate the hell.

Speaker 1 (53:25):
I rooted for his dad, who was a utility player
for the Yankees in the eighties. Well, just keep in mind,
keep in mind that when you think you like, how
is that possible? Yeah, the Cubs finally after thirteen times.
I know the Yankees one today, right, they were winning earlier? Yeah,
Yankees one today. But John Carlo hit two bombs on
Friday yesterday.

Speaker 2 (53:42):
First time. Carlo is them? Carlo is the bumb is
that Captain Cruncher?

Speaker 1 (53:48):
Just so, Yankees finally lost one to the Cubbies at
Yankee Stadium.

Speaker 2 (53:54):
So hey, if you.

Speaker 1 (53:55):

that Rich is gonna get into because he's unleashed and
unhinged in Vegas.

Speaker 2 (54:24):
He's gonna go to the paid pool after that. Yeah,
he may go to the pay pool.

Speaker 1 (54:27):
He may lose a few thousand dollars, you know, he
may get tipsy in front of the boss at dinner tonight,
like something's around the halpen.

Speaker 2 (54:34):
Let's time stamp this. How much are you up right
now gambling lines?

Speaker 1 (54:38):
I'm up about six hundred, which is rare because I'm
always bounty.

Speaker 3 (54:42):
Where we are tomorrow at this time.

Speaker 1 (54:44):
We'll find out then, And I think tonight, I think
spot we're so overdue for like.

Now, Kristin Davis wants to connect with you, the fans, and share untold stories and all the behind the scenes. Together, with Kristin and special guests, what will begin with Sex and the City will evolve into talks about themes that are still so relevant today.
