He mad at you, He's mad at me, mad at
you coming up here in just a bit.
Speaker 3 (00:17):
Who's not mad at me?
Speaker 1 (00:18):
Well I'm not.
Speaker 2 (00:19):

We'll talk about the When did they change for the
British Open it's always throwing me off. We'll talk Brian
Harmon later on in the program.
Speaker 3 (00:40):
Yeah, it was I know off the top of my head.
It's right on the tip of my tongue.
Speaker 2 (00:44):
Yeah, I know you're a big fan of Harman and
the former Georgia Bulldog. I'm gonna say British Bulldog. Anyway,
we'll get to some golf a little bit later on
the program. It was hold, let me grab Arnie's topic
list here that he sent me.
Speaker 3 (00:57):
I let you a lot today when I have nineteenth top.
Speaker 2 (01:00):
That you have nineteen Roman numeral topics to get.
Speaker 3 (01:03):
To, and your topics the way you said that to
me were just the horrific. To be honest with you.
Speaker 2 (01:09):
Yeah, I completely understand because they actually have to do
with what's going on in sports. It's the way you
wrote it out too, with you knowing it up, putting
it in bullet point.
Speaker 3 (01:18):
Were you to do it correctly? But I didn't do it.
Speaker 2 (01:21):
In Roman numerals like we did in the eighties, Nor
did I list nor did I list every running back
who's currently waiting on a deal either. So I apologize.
But as I rolled through here, let's see, I'm through
five Roman numeral one to number one.
Speaker 1 (01:36):
Or five six. I don't even see golf on here today, Arnie,
did you.
Speaker 3 (01:41):
Make my top nineteen? I'm sorry about that. Tells me nineteen.
That's what I drew.
Speaker 1 (01:49):
Were you up?
Speaker 3 (01:51):
I was up early because I had a basketball game also.
Speaker 1 (01:54):
We got to talk about that.
Speaker 3 (01:56):
Did you see the slam dunking going on? I put
it up on my Twitter acount.
Speaker 2 (01:59):
Did I saw you? I saw you doing absolutely nothing.
You're standing at the at the elbow and as your boy,
I guess what did he get picked or did he
get picked off? Whatever happened there in the lane? You
just you don't even hustle. What are you doing, Arnie?
I thought you took guys out in your rec league
when they tried to dunk, And I thought you said
that wouldn't happen against the brown team.
Speaker 3 (02:19):
No, it wasn't. We were we were. We were the
one doing the slam dunk. Oh okay, Yeah, when one
guy slams, we all tell who's on what team. Yeah.
When when one guy slams, we all slams.
Speaker 2 (02:29):
Everyone has like the same colored shirt on. How can
you tell who's on what team? I mean, I'd confuse
you gotta go shirts and skins or something.
Speaker 3 (02:36):
Technically, if I told you that was me, you would
have no idea.
Speaker 1 (02:40):
Oh, Arnie, I'm sorry.
Speaker 2 (02:41):
I could pick you out of a basketball lineup in
a heartbeat, but I figured you would be there that
if that is your team, to at least be talking
trash or something.
Speaker 3 (02:50):
I was talking trash at the time. You just probably
couldn't hear it.
Speaker 1 (02:53):
Did you score any points today?
Speaker 4 (02:55):
No?
Speaker 3 (02:55):
Oh, for one shooting so but didn't get a lot
of plenty time just about ten minutes. But I was
in the game when we were slam dunking all over,
then we made a run.
Speaker 2 (03:03):
How can I'm so perplexed, Like, literally, one of you
put one highlight up and then at shady Sean for
twenty put another one. The guy that's bringing the ball
down the court literally has the same number of uniform
or the same color of uniform as the guy who
picked it from him. How can you tell who the
hell's on whose team on this thing? Man, get you
guys some pennies or something. Don't wonder he got stripped.
(03:25):
He probably thought it was his teammate coming to get
in the basketball. The hell's going on here in Vermont?
Speaker 3 (03:31):
What's brown? One's green? You must be colorblind? I thought,
how can you have to listen?
Speaker 1 (03:38):
Arnie?
Speaker 2 (03:38):
I thought we were preparing for the Senior League Olympics here, right.
Isn't that what you're going towards or whatever it is.
I mean, it's gotta be a light color and a
dark color. We're dealing with elder gentleman around here. You
gotta throw them off.
Speaker 3 (03:51):
This is the good League. This is twenty one and over.
So that's why we're slam duncan. What'd you think that
we're sixty years old, slam duncan like that? What's wrong
with you?
Speaker 4 (03:59):
For crime?
Speaker 1 (04:00):
I think Jim Jay could still dunk.
Speaker 3 (04:01):
I don't think so.
Speaker 1 (04:02):
You don't think Michael Jordan could still.
Speaker 3 (04:04):
No, I don't think so. I don't think he'd be
one of the better players in our league right now,
I promise you that.
Speaker 1 (04:09):
You just got fired.
Speaker 2 (04:12):
After watching the highlight video that you posted up. I'm
pretty sure that you can no longer.
Speaker 3 (04:18):
Think you guys. Come on radio, Lets go Michael Jordan.
We're not going down this road tonight. You're not ruining
the show off the top? What do you make so?
So golf is out? It's not on Arnie's top nineteen topics,
But I did give you a nineteen other topic Roman numerals.
Speaker 4 (04:32):
There.
Speaker 2 (04:32):
You gave me nineteen to other Roman numeral topics to
get to, including the great news that Jimmy Garoppolo apparently
passed his physical so the Raiders actually won't have to
worry about starting Brian Hoyer to begin this season, which.
Speaker 3 (04:45):
That was number fifteen.
Speaker 1 (04:47):
Oh, but it's number one. In my heart, I.
Speaker 3 (04:49):
Knew, yeah, I should have put that number one.
Speaker 2 (04:51):
Okay, hold on a second here, I have no hope
I am. I am the most negative, downtrodden, beaten down
Raiders fan in the history of radio. I mean ever
right now. I mean it's terrible. I get mad at
Raider fans who have hope. That's how bad it is
for me right now. So any sliver of positivity I'll take?
Speaker 3 (05:12):
Is that good news?
Speaker 1 (05:13):
Though?
Speaker 3 (05:13):
Don't you want to be lousy? Do you really want
to win five games instead of one game? That's it's
not what I'm understanding.
Speaker 2 (05:21):
Listen, you're pretending as if he's going to be able
to survive behind that offense.
Speaker 3 (05:25):
Last week and told me you were rooting against the team,
and you want to lose?
Speaker 1 (05:28):
I do I want Caleb Boden?
Speaker 3 (05:30):
Now you want to wear a sliver hope bike sliver hope?
Speaker 1 (05:33):
Why not?
Speaker 2 (05:34):
Well, here's the problem is, I think here a couple
of things, just to defend it real quick. I don't
think the Broncos are any good, so I think you're
going to back into a win or two there. I
don't necessarily know how good. Oh sorry about that. I
don't necessarily know how good the Chargers are this year either, Arnie.
I don't know how good Sandy A Los Angeles is
heading into this year. And oh, by the way, uh,
(05:56):
they're they're playing the NFC East and they're cross division games.
I believe this, and I'm sorry they're playing the NFC
North in their cross division games this year, so they
might back into a win or two there, I'm here
to tell you right now. I just I think as
bad as they are gonna try to be, I don't
think they're gonna be able to fall into how bad
Arizona's gonna be without Kyler Murray and so what three
(06:17):
four or five games into the season, how bad they
might be when he gets back. So I'm kind of
having a bit of do because I just think the
Raiders are gonna be good enough to win four games,
and I feel like now I just need to embrace it.
Speaker 3 (06:28):
No, you're probably right on that there's still one of
the worst three teams in the NFL coming into the season.
I do kind of believe that. But you're right though,
I don't think Denver's Let.
Speaker 2 (06:38):
Me ask you this, let me ask you this real quick,
because you talk in your little trash there does change.
Speaker 1 (06:43):
My mindset somewhat. Oh what are you gonna do?
Speaker 2 (06:46):
Because you filled yourself full with all this hope if
the bottom falls out from Miami and I know what
you're gonna tell me, not happening. But I mean you
have to start preparing yourself because now this buzz people
are seeing the Jets, how spry Aaron Rodgers looks. You've
got tyreek Kill who's already found himself a little dinged
up in a little trouble this offseason. Who knows if
(07:08):
your quarterback can stay healthy during an entire seventeen game schedule.
Have you prepared yourself for what happens? Not if, but
maybe in win the bottom falls out for your super
Bowl bound Dolphins.
Speaker 3 (07:22):
Don't see that happening, Chris. Matter of fact, that's like
you going to a wedding and you're the best man.
You stand up and you're making a toast. Before you
make the toast, you say, now, you do have a
pre nup in case it doesn't work out? Right, guys,
not the right time?
Speaker 1 (07:37):
Really? No, no, I I why not? I got screwed
in a divorce.
Speaker 2 (07:42):
I wish someone would have stood up and said that,
son of a me, why not take good advice?
Speaker 3 (07:46):
Look, I'm telling you, not the time. They don't say, no,
this is gonna work out for everything's gonna be good.
I'm fine, Chris. I'm one hundred and two percent sure
that this is the year of the Miami Dolphins. I'm
barring any may your injury. I just don't see it.
I mean, come on, you've been around football long enough.
You know they're probably one of the top two teams.
Speaker 2 (08:09):
No, no, they're not one of the top Okay, so
you've got them head of Kansas City and Cincinnati and
Buffalo right now.
Speaker 3 (08:15):
There with kids, I think they're better than Buffalo. Really,
that's what are you gonna do when they start one
and four?
Speaker 2 (08:21):
One in four, lose to La in La, lose to
New England, you beat Denver because that's at home, lose
to Buffalo, and then bye. I'm pretty sure by a
week five two is gonna be out.
Speaker 3 (08:34):
Mike, start off oheing two. How about that?
Speaker 1 (08:38):
Listen, it's that's on the road.
Speaker 2 (08:40):
It's it's a hopeless bet because you won't follow through
on it, and you've already bet your job at least
what would you say, Brandon and Profet, You've done this
with us for a minute.
Speaker 1 (08:50):
Artie's lost his job on bets at least ten times.
So it's a hollow. Bet that's not true.
Speaker 3 (08:56):
At all, though, Arizona Princeton, you should not be here
right now.
Speaker 1 (08:59):
You bet your job.
Speaker 3 (09:01):
One on that. But you know I was right about
the Dolphins. Remember when I said they were gonna go
on a when they were like.
Speaker 2 (09:06):
One in So you actually right because you said they
were gonna win the rest of their games, and they
they lost two of their last three.
Speaker 3 (09:12):
Come on, look how hot I was. And now I
know they played three of their first four on the road,
But come on, now, look how easy of their schedules.
Denver and the Patriots are not even gonna make the playoffs.
Some of the Chargers might not make it either. So
that's three teams that won't even make the playoffs that
you start the season with. It's really kind of an
easy schedule, to be honest with you.
Speaker 1 (09:33):
Well, I disagree.
Speaker 2 (09:35):
I think that is a beast of a schedule to
start things off. Herbert and the Chargers are gonna be better.
You gotta deal with Bosa and Mac who will be healthy.
Because it's early in the season. The unknown of what
New England's offense is going to look like. I love
you don't care about coordinators, right, you don't care about
assistant coaching.
Speaker 3 (09:53):
I'm not. I don't care about New England's offense either.
So then there's strike one, strike two, strike three about that.
Nothing about the Patriot It scares me whatsoever. Offense, defense,
special teams, as Belichick would say, all three aspects of
the game. Nothing scares me about the New England Patriots.
That should be a blowout. So hopefully too old he
(10:13):
has to play a half of that game.
Speaker 2 (10:15):
Yeah, I gosh, I just kicked the season off. Now
I want I want to be here for the heartbreak.
That's what I want to be here for more than
anything else, especially because we'll be we'll be on the
air during that game, that Week two game. That's a
Sunday night game the Dolphins in New England. Yeah, that's
the Sunday night game. So how about this. If they're
oering too and they lose that game, you ququit, job,
(10:38):
you quit and you disconnect on the spot right there.
Speaker 3 (10:41):
It's not gonna happen, Chris, stop it. That's like me
saying okay. If I also gonna get if Jennifer Adams
is gonna say okay to dating me, then I'm just
gonna go ahead, just connect on the air and go
out a date with her. Okay, okay, you understand that
right now. No no, no, no, no, no no, you're come That
makes since to anyone.
Speaker 1 (11:02):
But come up. Then here's the ill, here's the bad,
here's the bat.
Speaker 2 (11:06):
Then, okay, you're so confident, I'm telling you, I think
you start ohing too, and you're betting your job on it.
When they lose to New England, you disconnect and you're done.
You're that confident. You heard it, Brandon, you got it,
Perfet Brandon and ider Seger will be fine to run
the show.
Speaker 3 (11:24):
We'll start the paperwork kind of thing against me.
Speaker 2 (11:27):
So you got it. You get this is the bat
right now? If the Dolphins on that Sunday.
Speaker 3 (11:32):
A little bit longer turn, you know, like if the
Dolphins didn't make the playoffs or something like that.
Speaker 2 (11:37):
No, no, no, you said I didn't. I wasn't the
one that set this these parameters.
Speaker 1 (11:41):
You did.
Speaker 3 (11:42):
Let's make it forget about the first two games. I
got us winning the division, go to the playoffs, and
probably I have us going to the super Bowl, barring
something crazy, right like Joe burt least go to the
AFC Championship. Oh, come on, anybody you know as well
as I know this, Chris, Okay that I don't.
Speaker 1 (12:03):
Just just don't say that because I don't.
Speaker 3 (12:05):
That I am not the only one now on the
Dolphin bandwagon, right.
Speaker 1 (12:09):
I mean, you've been hearing a lot of people are.
But every year you have teams that are picks.
Speaker 3 (12:14):
Left right on them on the Dolphin bandwagon. And you
know it.
Speaker 2 (12:18):
When was the last time a sneaky preseason pick actually
panned out?
Speaker 1 (12:25):
I don't know exactly. You're the one that I don't remember.
If the dog I hear is backtracking, all I hear
is backtrack.
Speaker 3 (12:34):
Back track, and I've got one by Miami d I'll
tell you what if you don't.
Speaker 1 (12:39):
You're the one that set you set the parameters.
Speaker 3 (12:42):
As b J Husky who they like this year?
Speaker 1 (12:45):
Bottom line, J's Dolphin, He's another dog. I mean, you
guys aren't even realistic fans for freaking homers every year
you do this, Brian, I understand our team's limitations. Arnie,
here's the bet backing off on.
Speaker 3 (13:01):
I'm not backing off nothing. Okay, everyone too. I'm sure
Dolphin fans are tweeting in right now. We're gonna kick someboody.
Speaker 2 (13:08):
Oh, and tow you're done, You're that confident at that moment,
you'll hang up and you'll and you'll walk out on.
Speaker 1 (13:15):
The show right there and then, So that would be
what time does the.
Speaker 3 (13:19):
Second lose it to the Patriots or the Chargers?
Speaker 2 (13:22):
Stop it cold? All this together, all right? And remember
he's the one that set these parameters, not us. This
isn't a we problem. This is a you problem.
Speaker 3 (13:30):
Why is it? Well, why is it a problem? Whatsoever?
You are you telling me you? Is this the first
time you're watching football?
Speaker 2 (13:36):
Big boy? I'm just curious. I've never watched. I've also
done this show with you for a decade, and you
do this crap every single not every single year, every
single year to go to the super Bowl.
Speaker 3 (13:50):
In the last twelve years. This is like the second
best odds they've had to go to the super Bowl.
Speaker 5 (13:55):
You talk about the Dolphins and the super Bowl more
than the Teeth ever single year you picked up All right,
so it's set.
Speaker 3 (14:01):
It was this college just tweeted at ges fifteen minutes
into the show and we're not even the trading camp.
I already can't wait till week two of the Possibles.
Thinking genius Lor.
Speaker 1 (14:12):
It's not as Colin, it's not a low self esteem meltdown.
Speaker 2 (14:16):
It's the end of the show. It will be the
start of a new program. Arnie's put his job on
the line if they're zero and two. So that's just
where we've got to be as a program.
Speaker 3 (14:26):
Now.
Speaker 2 (14:26):
I love working with you. I'm going to root for
him to be one and one at least two and.
Speaker 3 (14:30):
Oh they not two and oh, I'm going to be
in a bad mood.
Speaker 2 (14:33):
But I mean, well, here's the funny thing. If they
lose that opening week to the Chargers, who Yeah, I mean,
I know your wife makes the big bucks. I know
you're loaded, but I mean, holy smokes man, that's gonna
be a tense Sunday night if they blow that.
Speaker 3 (14:47):
Thanks for you, not for me to the Patriots. This
is the year that matter of fact, this is my
year of football. We have I haven't had this high
expectations in college and pro football in a in twelve
years since I've been doing the show with you. We're
better than Oklahoma finally, first time in twelve years. Yeah,
and the Dolphins are the you know, sentimental favorite.
Speaker 1 (15:07):
Now just again, I know for some reason that you
forget what you say a week later.
Speaker 3 (15:14):
No, no, no, no forgetting. I don't want to mean
I forget.
Speaker 2 (15:17):
But because I'm going to remind you of this before
we take our initial time out from the tire rock
dot Com studios, you have said this, you wish you
had TUA every year going into the football See what is.
Speaker 3 (15:29):
Your risk in the bet? Yeah, that's what I.
Speaker 2 (15:31):
Didn't I didn't say I quit my job. If they
I have no risk, I don't care. I couldn't care
less what the Dolphins record is? All right, when we
come back. When we come back, let's some early tweets
of the show. We got a lot to get you
on the program. It was a big week for college football.
Speaker 1 (15:46):
Nuts.
Speaker 2 (15:46):
You're really getting the weeds on inn il if you
want to, got some over under numbers.
Speaker 1 (15:49):
But Arnie, we've got to move.
Speaker 2 (15:52):
That is kind of nerdy in the NFL, but it
might make all the difference in the world. One of
the more franchises in the history of the National Football League.

Speaker 2 (17:13):
All right, it's Tarny and Plank on Fox Sports Sunday.
NFL camps in full swing this week. Let's welcome in
a guy that's been on with us a ton. We
love hearing from him, and we own the congratulation. It's
been a couple of months now, but we haven't had
a chance to chat with Matt Verdam, who is off
to Sports Illustrated SI. Now still same great content, still
(17:33):
same great follow on Twitter. Matt, I wanted to start
here because we spent obviously the first segment talking about
the Dolphins going to the Super Bowl, like we do
every single freaking week. But I'm curious how much does
the new ownership and the new direction in Washington intrigue
you and truly change things you'd think for this team,
if at all. In twenty three.
Speaker 4 (17:55):
One of mother changes the time twenty twenty threem, it's
gonna take time. Let me you're you're out from twenty
five years of dysfunction. So it's not just all of
a sudden going to be a rosy picture. But you know,
Josh Harris and obviously Magic Johnson, I mean, these are
experienced stars. These are people who have been professional, you know,
sports mobiles for a long time now. Harris owns a
Suddenly six Ers, he owned the Devils. Both franchises have
(18:18):
been very successful under his watch. So I do think
if you're a Commander's fan, you feel good about the fact. Yeah,
look this owner, this isn't the first time guy. This
isn't somebody who have no idea what the track record
is a kid's track record. You can go look at
the other franchises he's owned and Magic Johnson. Everything he's
been involved with, he's been successful. So I think it's
going to be successful. I just think it's probably going
(18:40):
to take a couple of years to really start seeing
a major difference on the field.
Speaker 3 (18:45):
You know matter. I feel like I'm asking you as
football played on a football field. But I assume you
have the Dolphins and the Chiefs in your AFC championship.
We can watch the game together, right.
Speaker 4 (18:57):
Funny? Actually I am picking the Dolphins, so you can
about that.
Speaker 3 (19:03):
I try to teach Pike about football, but he's not
getting it, but go ahead, yes please.
Speaker 4 (19:07):
Well he's been beating down by the Raiders for years.
I think the Dolphins are the most talerful team in
the division. And I do think that the Dolphins, if
Touist stays healthy, can absolutely go to the Super Bowl.
I think in this offseason, Vic Fangio is the biggest
addition any teammate on or off the field. I think
he's that important. You bring in Jalen Ramsey, the already
(19:30):
Paradavian Howard. You've got guys in front. My challeng Phillips
is that and so on and so forth. That's a
great division. It's gonna be a gaullet. I mean, the
the Jets I think are a playoff game. The Bill
should be a playoff team. New England is a team
that could win nine games and is a fourth place team.
So it's a very good division. But if too is
(19:50):
healthy and it's a huge youth, obviously, I think the
Dolphins are the best team in the division.
Speaker 2 (19:56):
Keny will do explain to Arnie, who doesn't think coordinators matter,
how much of a difference it does make to have
a guy like Vic Fangio running that defense in twenty three.
Speaker 4 (20:05):
I'll make an enormous difference, because when you have a
scheme that you truly believe in. Fangio's scheme now is
being used all over the NFL for a reason. You
can implement it in a way that players can buy
in because they know that it's had success. And even
if early maybe there's a bump in the road, it's
a new scheme, maybe it takes a little while to
get it going. Players are going to sit there and say, okay,
(20:26):
if this is Vic Fangia and I think on top
of that, and most importantly, you're bringing a guy with
a wealth of experience. You bring in a guy who
has a track record that spans more than just one defense.
There's one thing. If he is in one place in
ORTROI well, okay, maybe the personnel at burfect dead. He
has been an excellent coordinator in a myriad places, whether
it's San Francisco, Chicago. When he's head coach in Denver
(20:48):
and is trying to defense there, Vic Fangil wasn't a
great head coach, but he is an excellent coordinator. He
understands how to put his guys in a position to succeed.
The Dolphins have a ton of talent on defense, and
I think he will really implement them. Well.
Speaker 3 (21:03):
You know, Mattter last year was saying the ANFC West
could be one of the best divisions in football. Now
it's not even maybe one of the you know, below average.
If the Chargers are not good, who knows the Raiders
in Denver, they're certainly not scaring me. Could be a
one team division there.
Speaker 1 (21:20):
You know, it could be.
Speaker 4 (21:22):
I mean, I think I think the Chargers are going
to be on the on the brink of a playoff spot.
You know. I think they win about ten games, which
in the NFC would probably have him as a two
seats in the AFC. I don't know that that makes
the playoffs. It's probably gonna come down to some tie
breakers just based on how good the conference is Denver.
You know, if Denver's one of these teams, how much
he believe in Sean Payton reviving Russell Wilson. I think
(21:45):
he'll be better. He can't be any worse, right, But
I just don't see, like, is he going to become
a top eight quarterback again? I don't think so. And
if he's not that in that conference, you're not making
the playoffs. So I think probably seven wins something like that.
And the Raiders, I just I have a hard time seeing.
(22:06):
And I love Max Crosby's one of the best players,
don't leave, but beyond him, defensively, I don't know. I mean,
the Chandler Jones and Tyree Wilson, do they give you
that three headed monster promo? Crosby eighty, but the back
seven scares in. On offense, it's a questionable offensive lineouts
one A Miller, Jimmy Garoppolo, Waller's gone. It's just a
team that I think in the AFC was so loaded.
(22:28):
It's just gonna be hard to find a lot of
short fire wins to the Raiders. In twenty twenty three,
Matt Verder.
Speaker 2 (22:34):
Rams our guest, all right, let's let's get with the
I guess quote unquote hot topic and help me understand it.
Speaker 1 (22:39):
What can the running backs do?
Speaker 2 (22:41):
They're gonna have all the zooms they want, and they
can say that they're gonna I don't know, I don't
know what they're gonna say they're gonna do. They can
hold out, but I mean it kind of is what
it is right now, right.
Speaker 4 (22:51):
Yeah, I mean there's nothing that there's nothing there doing.
Like I saw a report today from one significant outlets
that said, essentially, you know when they drank. I said
the Zoom meeting a couple of days ago, they was
talked about, well, they're all going to get together and
hold out of off season activities. Who cares, No another
team cares. Teams aren't going to worry about the fact
that they're running backs. There in May, A lot of
(23:13):
these teams are going to be pulled to death that
none of these running backs are taking hits. So you know,
if they missed a couple of weeks, you can for something.
So I just don't think anybody cares. And there's a
scenario next year where Austin Eckler is a free agent,
Jonathan Taylor is a free agent, Sakuon Barkley, Tony Pollard,
and Josh Sagobs, you're all free agents. They're not all
(23:34):
getting paid. I mean maybe a couple of them are
gonna the rest of them mart And it's unfortunate. I mean, look,
I think running backs they're really in a spot by way.
Derek Henry would be another one. It's unfortunate because these
guys are performing at a high level for their position.
They deserve to be compensated. But the reality of it is,
(23:54):
the way the game is shifting, you're not as important
as a receiver, as a time corner, a pass rusher,
an edge a tackle, as a quarterback obviously, and so yeah,
I mean they can do a lot of different things,
but their position is just simply not as valuable on
the field as a lot of other ones right now.
Speaker 3 (24:13):
And plus it's now longer one back system. It's running
back by committee, so you don't get it as many
touches as back in the old day. And you know,
back in the day, and I hate to say back
in the old day, but if it was third two,
third and three, you were running the ball to pick
up the first down. Now you're pretty much going to
pass the ball or just do a little toss or
(24:34):
something else then just handing the ball off to the
running back, you know, Matt.
Speaker 4 (24:39):
Yeah, I know. I'm a huge nerd. I'm thirty four
years old and I'll sit there and watch an old
YouTube video from my childhood, you know, in the mid nineties,
and if you got down near the goal line, you
ran jumbo personnel and you just slammed the ball off
that line and if you didn't get the end zone,
guess what you did it again. Yeah, and then you
did it a third time. That's how you play. No
(25:02):
team would do that now, maybe Tennessee you would do it.
I mean, nobody else is knowing it, you know. And
I think it's just to that point, and you bring
up a good point on it, like, look, you don't
have a lot of teams trotting now. One back was
taking three hundred carries when I was a kid. Emitt
Smith and Thurman Thomas and Barrus Sanders and to all Davis,
those guys were as big as stars as anybody in
the league, as big as big time as box office
(25:25):
as Sakwon Barkley is. He's not Patrick Mahomes. I mean,
he's not Joe Burrow. And it's just Look, it's the
way the game is going. At some point it'll probably
cycle back and running backs will be in vogue again.
But right now it's just how it is. It's it's unfortunate,
but it's a reality in today's games for the backs.
Speaker 3 (25:43):
By the way, I just jump in, well we'll take
its toll on Hall of famers. Oh push and shoved
down down the line there or what?
Speaker 4 (25:50):
Yeah? Probably? I mean right now, how many running backs
from the NFL right now? That guy is absolutely hall fame.
I mean, I would say Derrick Henry. I think it's
snaking it. I mean, Derek Henry seems like the guy
you'd say Other than him, I can't think of one
guy who I think that guy's definitely on the Hall Fame.
I think Mark charn Lynch retired a couple of years.
He's I think he will get in. You know, maybe
(26:15):
does he get in. I don't think so. I don't
get in the Hall of Fame. So it's tough. But
to that question, now, if you're not putting the marine backs,
who you're putting in? I mean, the question is gonna
be receivers. You're gonna put in every guy who it's
a thousand yards you can't do that. I mean, so
I think what's gonna happen. His quarterbacks are just gonna
flood the Hall of Fame. But you know, we'll see
(26:35):
how that all plays.
Speaker 2 (26:36):
That Matt, You're Deshaun Watson retweet made my day today.
Speaker 1 (26:40):
Thank you. It's good to hear your voice again.
Speaker 2 (26:42):
So happy for your success man and enjoy camp.
Speaker 1 (26:45):
Can't wait to talk to you again soon. Man, have
great week.
Speaker 4 (26:48):
Hey, thanks a lot to take care uestions.
Speaker 3 (26:49):
Thanks.
Speaker 2 (26:50):
There is a tweet that the Cleveland Browns put out
and it's Deshaun Watson literally two feet well, can I
explain it? It's like two feet away from like ant
he throws it into the net and it's like, oh,
making it look easy. He's like, literally, Arnie and I
could go and do that. As for comedy, Live from
the Tirack dot Com studio, cool giveaway coming up that
(27:10):
will tell you about but first Steve Sager.
Speaker 1 (27:12):
With everything going on in the world of sports, what's
up Steve Sager?
Speaker 8 (27:17):
Hello, gentlemen, gotta be nice to Arnie. He's only give
me around a few more weeks.
Speaker 3 (27:21):
Why you heard what he got? Burder Ram said, come
on now, let's stop it.
Speaker 2 (27:25):
I've already got people that are nominating the next co
host of the show. I'm gonna be pushing for a
Sager to be a part of this.
Speaker 1 (27:32):
Let's go.
Speaker 3 (27:32):
I got Miami winning twelve games. I did the math
at the break, so they're gonna win twelve.
Speaker 8 (27:37):
Why don't you maybe the TV people do and make
a whole series out of trying out to see who's
going to be the next host?
Speaker 1 (27:43):
Oh I like this idea. I like that a lot.
Speaker 3 (27:45):
Why am I not on TV?
Speaker 1 (27:49):
Maybe that'll be your future.
Speaker 8 (27:51):
You'll be quite available.
Speaker 3 (27:53):
You know what I should do is I should get
rehired as an update person. They don't do anything.
Speaker 8 (27:57):
I'm sorry about shit, my bad bad, Okay. Most NFL
veterans report to training camp on Tuesday. Raiders quarterback Jimmy
Garoffolo passed his physical, so he will not start camp
on the pup list after his broken foot last season.
His contract is locked in now, reportedly worth about thirty
four million dollars guaranteed over the next couple of years.
(28:17):
The Raiders unsigned running back Josh Jacobs could skip the preseason.
He's currently subject to the franchise tag. Ravens wide receiver
Rashad Bateman was reinstated from the did not report list.
Bear's wide receiver Chase Claypool was placed on the pup
list physically unable to perform. Cincinnati placetackle Lyle Collins on
the pup list. Denver says running back Javonte Williams will
(28:40):
not start camp on the pup list, and Vikings rookie
Jordan Addison wide receiver, reported to training camp today. Danny
Hamlin took the NASCAR race at Pocono. American Brian Harmon
won the open by six strokes at the Women's World
Cup FS one. We'll have a triple header starting late
tonight two am Eastern Time, with Italy against Argentina. The
(29:00):
Americans next game is Wednesday, night in baseball this evening,
Boston beat the Mets six to one. The New York
Mets record forty six and fifty three and also with
a large payroll. The Padres lost again, record forty eight
and fifty two. Padres only had three hits, lost at
Detroit three to one. In Anaheim, Shoheo Tani with his
(29:22):
thirty sixth homer that leads the majors. Angels beat Pittsburgh
seven to five. Toronto was a four to three winner
at Seattle. Houston hit a solo homer top of the
ninth to get a win at Oakland three to two.
The A's record twenty eight and seventy four. The contest
is over Texas and the Yankees. With wins Washington and
Atlanta as well. Braves had the best record in the
(29:44):
Majors sixty four and thirty four. Atlanta four to two
winner at Milwaukee Ozzie albi Is a three run homer
in the eighth. Cincinnati won its fifth straight game. Baltimore
won at Tampa Bay five to three. Ten inning wins
for Philadelphia and Miami Minnesota on in twelve. Twins might
be going to the playoffs as a division champion. This year,
they are three games ahead of Cleveland for first place
(30:07):
in the AL Central. The Twins are the only team
in the division over five hundred. Somebody's got to go.
Cubs beat Saint Louis seven to two, and it was
Scott Rowland getting into the Hall of Fame as a
Saint Louis Cardinal. Today Fred McGriff also into the Hall.
His plaque does not feature any team's logo. Perfect to you,
Thanks Steve.
Speaker 2 (30:25):

Speaker 1 (31:12):
I want to make one thing very clear.
Speaker 3 (31:14):
Here where you're gonna apologize?
Speaker 1 (31:15):
Yes for what?
Speaker 3 (31:17):
Come on, stop already.
Speaker 1 (31:19):
No, I'm not apologizing.
Speaker 3 (31:20):
You heard what Matt Werderram had to say.
Speaker 1 (31:22):
No, But here's the thing. Yeah, there is there is
an area. I like the Dolphins. I think you like them.
Speaker 3 (31:28):
No, No, here's the differing.
Speaker 1 (31:30):
Here's the difference. You're like, they're going seventeen to Oh,
they're going.
Speaker 3 (31:34):
To the side said them, I said twelve and five
says he thinks they can go to the super Bowl.
Speaker 1 (31:42):
He didn't say go to the super Bowl. He said
win the AFC.
Speaker 3 (31:44):
You know, he says he thinks they can go to
the super Bowl. Though, shutter do you hear it?
Speaker 1 (31:49):
Yes, you've added this little caveat of every single time
it's like, hey, they can be a good team.
Speaker 2 (31:55):
They're going to the super Bowl. I think they can
be a good team. I'll think they're beating ansa city.
I don't think they're beating Cincinnati. I don't think they're
beaten Buffalo, but arn't he They're a good team.
Speaker 1 (32:05):
Now.
Speaker 2 (32:06):
If you want to take that to mean they're going
to the super Bowl, that's fine, But I don't think
they're going to the super Bowl. And I think you
should be happy with the team that can battle for
the AFC East and make the playoffs. But you tend
to take this little bit of more soul that you
have of goodness and you want to like turn it
into some sort of euphoric projection on everything that the
Dolphins do. And I'm just I don't want to see
(32:28):
you get let down this season. I don't want to
say you're used to it. It's kind of been your
career as a fan of your teams over the last ever.
But I think you're setting yourself up for a big
fail with where you're putting your expectations. Put them logical,
put that vision a playoff game. No, Patrick Mahomes still
the quarterback of the Chiefs.
Speaker 3 (32:48):
That's like you're going get in your marriage and say
I'm gonna give.
Speaker 1 (32:50):
You no.
Speaker 2 (32:53):
Patrick is Patrick Mahomes still the quarterback of the Chiefs.
They're not going to the super Bowl.
Speaker 3 (32:59):
That is the only team that worries. To me, that's
the only team that's.
Speaker 1 (33:02):
A pretty big hurdle.
Speaker 2 (33:04):
Are you gonna be able to go to Arrowhead and
win the ANAS Championship?
Speaker 3 (33:07):
I can go to the game with Matt Verderram. How
about that.
Speaker 2 (33:10):
I don't think Matt wants you to go with him?
Is the way that I'm looking. I like the Dolphins.
It's just when I look at Super Bowl contenders in
the AFC, starts with Kansas City.
Speaker 1 (33:19):
That's it, you know. I look at Twitter.
Speaker 3 (33:21):
I don't think there's one person that disagrees with me
about Miami on all of Twitter.
Speaker 2 (33:27):
Every single person that has a Twitter account agrees with
you on.
Speaker 1 (33:30):
This, I think so, I haven't seen one that disagreed.
This might be historic, this might be his story. In fact,
I see one right here. You're right at JP Rights.
I hate to say it, but I agree with tinking
genius on the Dolphins. Yeah, but anyway, do you even
know what Vic Fangio does.
Speaker 3 (33:48):
Yeah, he's the coordinator of the Dolphins.
Speaker 2 (33:53):
Anyway, their defensive coordinator, probably the most underrated coordinator in
the league. And we'll have the defense in shape by
the end of the year, barring a two injury, they'll
be in the mix.
Speaker 3 (34:03):
That's the only thing. I gotta put a caveat on
of two against injury.
Speaker 1 (34:06):
No, there's no caveat there because you now say you've
got back up quarterback.
Speaker 3 (34:10):
If I have to come in and play quarterback, there's
gonna be a problem. So I can't have that again.
As long as two is healthy.
Speaker 4 (34:16):
I did.
Speaker 2 (34:17):
I can't help that. It just came in from Eddie.
Whin the Super Bowl? Whin the AFC East.
Speaker 3 (34:21):
What's the difference, wow, Eddie? Well, yeah, basically takes.
Speaker 1 (34:25):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (34:26):
I think they'll be in the mix for the East.
So they're going to the super Bowl, is what you're saying. Gosh, Artie,
if you.
Speaker 1 (34:31):
Set your expectations in a good spot, you might end
up being surprised. But no, you've got to go balls
to the wall on this, and I'm like, I don't.
Speaker 3 (34:39):
Necessarily, there's no surprising anybody. Everybody sees this coming, so
it's not like there's gonna be a fight. Said, oh,
what a surprise here we are the Dolphins are in
the AFC Championship. Everybody would say, oh, we saw it
from the beginning, so there's no surprise here.
Speaker 1 (34:54):
Chris then what happens when they're not there for you?
Speaker 3 (34:58):
I gotta answer that now that they're gonna be there,
that's please stop. I mean, come on, as with what
do you see I have? I've getten like private messages.
This guy's giving me like the breakdown of the Dolphins
in every way and no way they could lose. Now,
I'll tell you that you've.
Speaker 1 (35:14):
Got private messages. I mean, let's uh, let's I can't.
Speaker 3 (35:17):
Even It's like, I can't even read it. It would take
three hours for read it on the air.
Speaker 2 (35:22):
If you're getting private messages they tell you the Dolphins
are going to the super Bowl, I don't see how
I can argue against.
Speaker 3 (35:27):
I really should. I think some of it, but it
would take me three I swear it would take me
three out.
Speaker 2 (35:31):
All right, when we come back, let's hit the best
of Twitter for the show so far. Plus, there's more
than just Arnie picking the Dolphins every single freaking week
on this show.
Speaker 1 (35:39):
There's camps that open up.
Speaker 2 (35:41):
Uh, there's quarterback questions, and it seems as if there
is a lot of confidence right now coming out of
the New York Jets. We'll dive into it next right
here on Fox Sports Radio. Where did you find this?
Per fet It's the best song ever.
Speaker 5 (35:53):
This is like ten years ago Tea Pain did the
cover of the Miami Dolphins.
Speaker 1 (35:58):
I was fantastic. It's fantastic. Do you even know the words?
Speaker 3 (36:04):
What are you kidding? I played this every night before
the show before we come on the end version Miami
Dolphins number one.
Speaker 2 (36:12):
I still think it pales in comparison to Ice Cubes,
Rader Nation. Ice Cubes Rader Nation laps t Pain and
this dopey sounding Dolphins song. We're coming to you live
from the Tirack dot Com studios also brought to him
far Out, but Discover we're.

Speaker 3 (36:39):
Maybe I got I got Hoody on my side. Okay,
go ahead, this Rutger he's a Dolphin fan.
Speaker 1 (36:46):
Oh I thought you meant like some guy named Hoody
was tweeting Tody.
Speaker 3 (36:49):
And the Blowfish. Come on, get get with it. Yeah,
I thought he was a country singer. Not Yeah.
Speaker 2 (36:57):
Let's say some of these tweets though, real quick, because
that's what matters, because this was overwhelming, right everyone on
Twitter was an agreement that the Dolphins are going to
the super Bowl. Now, I want to make this clear.
I didn't put my job on the line if they
were zero and two. Arnie did so if they The
agreement is if they lose to the Patriots to fold
(37:18):
oh and two on Sunday Night Football in Week two,
we'll bid ado to Arnie and then we'll move on
from there. We'll start taking applications and rebrand the show.
It'll be the favorite of both the games.
Speaker 3 (37:28):
You understand that, even though they're the road team, will
still be the favorites of both games.
Speaker 1 (37:33):
I don't think they'll be a favorite over the Chargers.
Speaker 3 (37:35):
Well that's why you don't think, but they will.
Speaker 1 (37:37):
What's the where's the Week one spread?
Speaker 3 (37:39):
I'll look that up. I'll go look that up. You.
Speaker 1 (37:42):
I've got it right here in front of me. Let's
see here.
Speaker 2 (37:45):
I would say the Chargers, since it's at home, would
be like a point favorite, maybe even a pick them.
Speaker 3 (37:52):
Chargers are two and a half point favorites. So you're already,
oh for one? Are you not starting to see this?
Speaker 1 (38:01):
Might be a little bit of oh yeah, no.
Speaker 3 (38:03):
No, that's that's the best pick of the week. Number one.
How about that? I'm gonna I'm picking that one right
off the bat.
Speaker 1 (38:09):
Okay, yeah, I'm.
Speaker 3 (38:12):
Gonna make some money.
Speaker 2 (38:13):
Yes, all the way you spin this is borderline fantastic.
You lecture me about how I already know that they're
gonna be a favorite in Week one, to which I respond, no,
they're not. I'm willing to bet that the Chargers are
half or a point favorite, and then you spin it like, well,
there's a great bet because Chargers are two and a
half points.
Speaker 3 (38:32):
So I'm stealing and steal. I didn't I didn't know this.
I'm my goodness, man, I'm gonna sell everything I have
and start saving my money.
Speaker 2 (38:40):
Now, do you know what the the early spread is
in Week two for the Dolphins and the Patriots.
Speaker 3 (38:48):
Dolphins minus three?
Speaker 1 (38:51):
What'd you say?
Speaker 3 (38:53):
Three?
Speaker 1 (38:54):
Two and a half? Two and a half?
Speaker 4 (38:55):
Very good?
Speaker 1 (38:56):
Very good. By the way, you want some guaranteed money.
Speaker 2 (38:58):
As much as I love my beloved Raiders, they are
eight point dogs to the Bills in Buffalo in Week two.
Speaker 1 (39:05):
That might be guaranteed. Easy coin.
Speaker 3 (39:07):
You're a three and l point dog to the Broadcos
in week one?
Speaker 1 (39:11):
Why would we be a favorite? Why would the Raiders
be a favorite?
Speaker 3 (39:14):
If any of this?
Speaker 2 (39:16):
But I would bet the Raiders to cover that. I
feel pretty good about that.
Speaker 1 (39:20):
Right now. I don't know if the Broncos are gonna
be any good.
Speaker 2 (39:22):
I mean every year we hear about the greatness of
the Broncos roster. I mean every single freaking year. Uh,
It's like Denver Bronco love is akin to Syracuse grads
in the media. Right It's all Syracuse grads, and I
want to tell you how great Syracuse is and they always
suck in every sport. I feel like that with Denver.
(39:42):
Every Oh my gosh, it's Denver roster look out and
it never pans out. So I wouldn't be surprised if
they covered. But yeah, already an underdog in week one.
We'll see if they can turn it around.
Speaker 3 (39:52):
You know, I'm looking at the odds for week number
one and I feel like I'm taking the test that
I already know the answers. It's a remarkable. I'm starting
the hair on my arm is starting to stand up.
I man, do I feel good? What a year this
is gonna be for me? Wow, Wow, I mean this.
Speaker 2 (40:11):
I was really gonna retweet this segment. Guys, I was
really trying to retweet this segment. I promise you. But
I'll get to a few dealing this. Here's Jim who
writes the Dolphins are going to stink yeah at bakes here.
But this was unanimous. This was unanimous, right, everyone was
agreeing with you. Bank writes the Dolphins have a good offense,
a good defense, but their offense is questionable. By week ten,
(40:33):
they'll be five hundred off. They're five hundred You're gonna
be so sad. It's Fox Sports Radio.

I'm watching great college football finishes and the eighty six
to three era of Sports Center right now, which.
Speaker 5 (41:36):
All we've got on right now is La La Land,
Mermaids and like replays of the Women's World cop and
some like atp ten.
Speaker 2 (41:42):
In fact, it's funny because I was I was just
gonna joke. At some point the Sports Center will shift
to some random event from earlier today, and sure enough,
the Hungarian Grand.
Speaker 1 (41:53):
Prix just started to reair. You go.
Speaker 2 (41:56):
So yeah, that's that's why you need to be tuned
in here on Fox Sportsdio, because no one else is
really covering sports tonight. And this is the week of
training camp. So before I get to let's see here
roman numeral number three. Uh here on the Arnie Span
your playlist year, it's going.
Speaker 3 (42:12):
All the way to number three.
Speaker 1 (42:13):
Now we got to I do want to go back
number three.
Speaker 2 (42:17):
I do want to go back and hit a couple
of points from one to two because I don't know
in the hour. One reminder that you're putting your job
on the line for the Dolphins not to be ohero,
and two to start the season that camps are underway. Yes,
and again, if you listen to this show with any regularity,
you'll be inundated with the Dolphins are going to the
(42:38):
super Bowl talk.
Speaker 1 (42:39):
But I think there's a lot of really.
Speaker 2 (42:41):
Good camp storylines, so we don't have massive quarterback battles.
There's one in Tampa right now between Kyle Trask and
Baker Mayfield. You know, we can we can debate about,
you know, whether or not there is truly one going
on in Houston.
Speaker 1 (42:54):
I kind of think c. J.
Speaker 2 (42:55):
Stroud's gonna be the guy from day one, or even
in India, I think Anthony Richardson's gonna be the guy
dan one or even I feel like Gino Smith the
guy in Seattle. But Arnie, I feel like every camp
storyline that we have is something that we won't get
answered until the regular season, right.
Speaker 1 (43:13):
I mean, we could sit here.
Speaker 2 (43:14):
And go and ooh and I over every Aaron Rodgers
highlight that we see, but what are we really gonna
know about the Jets and how this works in like
a preseason practice, and we're not gonna be able to
really know how we feel about the Jets until at
the very least what heading into Kansas City in Week
four after the Bills, Cowboys, and Patriots to start the
(43:34):
season where they could easily be zero to three and
still a pretty good football team.
Speaker 1 (43:38):
So I just I'm excited for camp. I know you're
excited for camp.
Speaker 2 (43:42):
There's a bevy and a boatload of storylines, but I
feel like with how minimized that the preseason has become,
in the free season games, if you will, yeah, I
feel like we're not going to really be able to
make any true wide ranging sweeping takes until we see
things for real for a couple of weeks in the season.
Speaker 3 (44:01):
I don't think there's a lot of good fights for
like starting positions at quarterback, if that's what you're saying.
I think everything's pretty much said. They're gonna use it for,
you know, just more to Okay, get in shape and
that thing. Mike, I agree. My thing is I want
to know where the Dalvin Cooks and the Ezekiel Elliott's
and you know what's that gonna happen with say Gwan
Barkley and stuff like that I want to say, how
(44:23):
that's good to me? Those are the storylines I'm looking forward.
Speaker 2 (44:26):
Well, then you and I agree, we're not. There's no
reason to fight here, disagree. We look at it the
same way. If you're a die hard fan of let's
just say a team like the Bengals. If you're a
Bengals fan tonight, there's there's true camp battles going on.
You're probably looking to say, Okay, who's gonna be our
number two back behind Joe Mixon this year? Right now
(44:48):
that samaj p Ryan went off and signed with the Broncos,
is that is that guy behind mix In?
Speaker 1 (44:54):
Is it?
Speaker 3 (44:55):
Is it? Traveon will is a good number two for
them too, by the way, but.
Speaker 1 (44:58):
Yeah, Chase Chase brown could be.
Speaker 2 (45:00):
Maybe there's a fight for that backup quarterback job between
Simmy and Browning. But as far as Arnie and plank
On to sending that on national radio, listen, we got
a national audience, and I love our affiliate in Cincinnati,
but don't I mean sitting here fighting about who's gonna
be the backup tight end for the Cincinnati Bengals or
for the Vegas Raiders whomever.
Speaker 1 (45:17):
That's just not gonna get it done. I feel like
we're all kind of waiting to see to wear these
names that we've known and we've seen on Sundays, Like
Arnie said, where they're gonna fall, and exactly what it
means for the future of that running back market.
Speaker 2 (45:30):
You've been hit over the head with it. You're probably
tired of hearing about it. But Arnie, you went through
the list.
Speaker 1 (45:35):
I mean, those are dudes who can win you football
games at the running back position that are available right now.
Speaker 3 (45:41):
If you took the five I listed, we'll go through
them in a second. You could say easily, what three
of them are in the top five, or maybe all
five inside the top ten, or or something that wout effect.
They're all damn good running backs. I guess this is
what I'm saying.
Speaker 1 (45:56):
Yes, agreed a bazillion percent. So let me ask one
thing on this.
Speaker 2 (46:01):
My point isn't to knock the Bengals or the Raiders
or anything of that nature. I know in your city
you've got these fights that you're fired up about. I
could nerd out on some college football position battles that
are big time camp storylines, but in what kind of
pays the Bills are we really going to know how
improved Justin Fields is by watching him throw a pass
in practice? Are we really gonna know how improved Aaron
(46:23):
Rodgers is by how he does in an inner squad
are inner team scrimmages? No, we got to see it
once the NFL season starts. So I'm with you, Arnie,
And with that in mind, your team with Miami, maybe
the Broncos throw the Jets out there, because we just
don't know when bres Hall is going to be back
and when he's one hundred percent. And of course, all
(46:43):
these teams now that have running backs holding out, like
the Giants and the Raiders, we just don't know what
they're gonna do with their running back position. So with
that in mind, where are some of these guys gonna land,
if anywhere over the next few weeks? I mean, how
do you handle this if you're one of these rookies
or one of these young guys, are maybe a guy
out their last leg that's fighting for a job. But
(47:03):
you know the reason you have that opportunity is because
the store is not getting paid right right, and you're
the cheaper option. It's just gotta be an interesting, challenging conundrum.
Speaker 3 (47:14):
I don't even know how it's gonna play out for
somebody like Saquon Barkley or Josh Jacobs. I don't because, like,
you can't just walk away if you're a Saquon Barkley,
and I think he's making a big mistake. I think
you should have just taken the one year tender and
moved on from it because there's just so many big
names out there. I still think Dalvin Cook will be
(47:34):
the first to sign and then the rest will fall
after that. I still think it's gonna be Miami because
nobody's gonna come along and give him the big money
that he's hoping for, and that that's what he's waiting for,
and it's just not going to happen. Though. I gotta
tell you, there's there's plenty of names out there for
you to get. If you don't get a Dalvin Cook,
what do you okay?
Speaker 1 (47:56):
In your opinion? Is this.
Speaker 2 (48:00):
Market the lack of a true increase and their value
and more than anything else, areny a decrease financially?
Speaker 1 (48:09):
Is this a story that.
Speaker 2 (48:10):
We're just filling time with right now, or is it
truly something fans care about? Like I always say, everyone
wants to act like they care about concussions until it
affects their team. You want to act like you cared
about concussions, but when it came to the playoffs, you're like,
get out there and play too.
Speaker 1 (48:24):
I mean, you just be honest.
Speaker 2 (48:25):
You want to act like you care about market value
for running backs until your running backs holding out. You're like,
whoa hold on here, buddy, it's a ten million dollar deal.
Speaker 1 (48:34):
That's pretty good.
Speaker 2 (48:35):
So I guess my question is it's a big deal
for these running backs because they see what quarterbacks, wide
receivers and left tackles and as rushers are making.
Speaker 1 (48:43):
But is it really that big of a deal with fans.
Speaker 3 (48:45):
No, not at all. A matter of fact, it's kind
of disgusting if you think about it, the soraries that
all these athletes get. And now we're going to go
ahead and complain about one group of athletes because they
play running back that they don't feel like they're getting
fair mark in value. Hey, welcome to the real world.
When we were getting three hours and ten cents an
(49:05):
hour and we as minimum wage and it jumped up
the three sixty five, I mean, it's embarrassing, absolutely embarrassing
that I have to hear, oh, ten millions not enough. Well,
that's the situation. But it's like the stock market. Sometimes
it goes up, sometimes it goes down. You bet on
yourself and guess what you're rolled at dice and it
came up. Snake guys, you're not as valuable as you think.
(49:28):
You can always take a guy in the later rounds
or as a free agent to get close to the
production that running backs have. You're no longer a one person.
Let's give all the runs to it's running back by committee.
So you don't get the you know, the wear and
tear like you're like you're saying you are. And two
and three is a passing league, so you know, the
(49:50):
hell with it. We're no longer just gonna give it
to you all the time. Like Matt verdem said, you
run your run, your run at the goal line. That's
not happening anymore. You're passing it pretty much two of
the three times. So the running back position has completely
changed what we did to the fullback. We got rid
of the old Larry Zodka types and stuff like that.
(50:10):
They're gone. It's a long time for them. And that's
just the way it's evolving, right now in the NFL.
Speaker 1 (50:16):
Can I can I push back on one thing?
Speaker 3 (50:19):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (50:19):
You act like we throw the ball sixty times a
game and run at three. I mean the run pass
ratio is fifty five to forty five, right, I guess
that would be pass run fifty five to forty five.
Speaker 1 (50:31):
You're still running the ball forty five percent of the game.
It's pretty substantial number.
Speaker 3 (50:35):
But now with just one back, how many you know
out of the forty five percent that you're running.
Speaker 1 (50:39):
Well, you're not throwing passes to just one receiver either.
Speaker 3 (50:43):
No, I understand that you've got like four receivers you're
throwing passes and.
Speaker 2 (50:46):
It tied in, right, So why would the fact that
you're only carrying it ten times? If you're effective in
those ten times that you're carrying it, and you're over
one hundred yards or your thousand yards, and you're protecting
the football and you're except you're in the game more
than just the ten times that you carry it. Why
is it okay if you only have a couple of
catches as a wide receiver and you get all that
(51:07):
big money, but it's not the same for a hand
It's not okay.
Speaker 3 (51:11):
Yet, you better have more than that, you better be
a Big nine producer if you want the money in
at the wide receiver slot. There's no doubt about. I'm
not saying you can go ahead and come up with
average numbers and still get the money. Though you'll get
a little bit more money than the running backs get,
that's for sure.
Speaker 2 (51:27):
Right now, the Eagles last year ran the ball fifty
two percent of the time fifty two which was a
massive number. As far as my recent Super Bowl champs,
and I think we see just our Super Bowl teams.
Speaker 1 (51:42):
I should say they didn't win it, but.
Speaker 2 (51:44):
I think we see what Mahomes does and it's just
me and it's not a knock because obviously I have
an incredible, jaded amount of envy for Patrick Mahomes in
a ways doing in Kansas City. I think we I
think Kansas City is the team that has ultimately put
the cap on the Yeah, you don't need a running back,
I really do, Arnie, because look, with the seventh rounder
(52:04):
is the guy that ends up being their star last year?
Speaker 1 (52:07):
Right they even gots Clyde Edwards Helier.
Speaker 2 (52:09):
I think it was the first round pick and that
didn't necessarily that that hasn't panned out so far, dude
can't stay healthy, and they've moved through about five or
six different guys. Everyone wants to trace it back to
Mike Shanahan and allwayd went back to Sean McVeigh.
Speaker 1 (52:22):
But look what the Chiefs are doing.
Speaker 2 (52:23):
I'm just I guess my point is everyone's like, well,
the running backs aren't getting enough.
Speaker 1 (52:28):
There's not one guy. Well, I mean there's not just
one receiver either.
Speaker 2 (52:32):
And I understand the difference between passing and running the football,
but we act like rotating backs is a bad thing.
Speaker 1 (52:38):
I don't understand that it's not.
Speaker 3 (52:39):
I'm wondering as the value of the cornerback gone way
up since we've become a passing league now or no,
oh absolutely, I mean talking about pay wise, you.
Speaker 2 (52:50):
Know, sure, sure, But I also it's kind of funny.
This is I've got some studying to do on this.
I feel like corner go from being incredible and unstoppable,
and then just the next day you're.
Speaker 1 (53:05):
Like, whatever happened in real revs? Where did he go?
I remember Revis Island? And then all of a sudden
you're like, is he on the ravens now?
Speaker 4 (53:12):
Or what?
Speaker 1 (53:13):
Got paid a lot too? Yes?
Speaker 2 (53:15):
And they're just it's just almost like they fall off
the face of the earth. So I think it's a
great question. It seems almost as if, profet you study
the numbers of this, aren't you. I know you look
at it too, but it almost seems as if the
edge rushers are the one who have really, you know,
hit pay dirt when it comes to the effectiveness of
the passing game over the corners. Now I've got studying
(53:35):
to do on that, but that's just what it seems.
Speaker 1 (53:37):
Like to me.
Speaker 5 (53:38):
Yeah, I mean, defense is always like a full unit's job,
but absolutely edge rushing and especially getting off on the
pass rush. And because it's not just if you can
sack the quarterback. The pressure you put on a quarterback
just makes them make mistakes. So just yeah, do you.
Speaker 2 (53:54):
Know who the highest paid cornerback is right now? No
football league?
Speaker 3 (53:58):
Who is it?
Speaker 1 (53:58):
It's Tyr Alexander?
Speaker 3 (54:00):
And how much and how much is he making?
Speaker 2 (54:03):
He is averaging twenty one Now again let's be clear,
this is per year, right, this is how much they
make per year. He's making twenty one million dollars per year.
Speaker 5 (54:12):
That's a lot more than I thought it was going
to be. The double right, By the way, we're talking
about top five cornerbacks out there. One of them is
a guy going into his sophomore year with Gardner. Like that,
I feel like we lost that generation you were talking
about of of Revus and Sherman. Just like to your point,
all these guys had, like the Cromarty guys who had
really good years and then dropped off.
Speaker 3 (54:32):
Was Sherman getting the big money, That's what I'm wondering.
I mean, obviously from him to now, I guess it
shot up a lot. I'm just wondering if he got,
you know, valued as much as now.
Speaker 2 (54:43):
Sherman's last contract with the Tampa tamp well, he did
have a deal with the Tampa pay Buccaneers, but that
was for minimal. When he was with the Seattle Seahawks,
he had a four year, fifty six million dollar deal,
so his average salary was fourteen mil.
Speaker 1 (54:58):
So, you know, pretty good.
Speaker 3 (55:00):
Yeah, that's yeah, that's damn good.
Speaker 5 (55:01):
I was gonna say, even at the end of his career,
I think he got something annual, something like nine million
from the forty nine ers. Yeah, and that's a post
peak Sherman too.
Speaker 1 (55:10):
Yeah, three year, twenty seven mil.
Speaker 3 (55:11):
Still more than running backs now still.
Speaker 1 (55:14):
More than running backs now.
Speaker 5 (55:15):
But one of the top ten, one of the top
ten contracts for running back right now is Bijon Robinson
because he was a top ten selection. I mean, I
mean yeah, no, wait, they have the top ten selection
in the in the NFL. No, that's just how bad
like the drop off is from the top guys to
everyone else that a rookie contract top ten draft is
(55:36):
one of the top tens year contracts for that position.
Speaker 3 (55:38):
He used to be like that every way, every time
a quarterback would come on in that the quarterback would
be the highest paid and break records every year? Would
it not Chris or what I stop with Bradford or whatever?
Speaker 2 (55:49):
Well, that's whenever I love my man, Sam. But after
that was whenever they realized, yes, we've got it. We've
got to start slotting right the NFL draft picks.
Speaker 5 (56:02):
That's in everyone I think, tried to start trying to
crack this cookie of can we get a quarterback on
a rookie controlled deal before the contract just absolutely killed.
Speaker 2 (56:10):
Five here, Arnie, you talk about that a lot. You'd
rather draft a quarterback in the first round? Yeah, and
take your chances on I'm gonna go sign someone right
now if you don't include Saquan, Josh Jacobson, Tony Pollard,
the three guys who are are going to be on
what's the word, I'm looking for franchise tags right which
would make ten point nine mil, ten mil, ten million dollars.
(56:33):
There are only five running backs that make more than
ten million dollars this year per season, and that's wild.
And you're looking at corners. I mean, Kendall Fuller with
the Commanders is making ten million dollars. Stefan Gilmore is
thirty three, He's making ten million dollars. DJ Reid with
the Jets is making eleven million dollars. Your boy Cam
(56:54):
Sutton is making eleven million dollars. I mean James Bradberry
is making twelve point six. So my point is it's
wild whenever you see that ascrepancy Arnie in a position
that matters in quarnerback.
Speaker 1 (57:06):
But we've looked at running backs and it's like, ah,
you know, we don't need to pay it.
Speaker 3 (57:09):
If I gave you a choice, would you rather have
two really good corners or two really good running backs?
What would your answer be for your team? What's my
edge rushers look like what's my offensive line look like?
I do I have a good offensive line? Okay, then
I'll take two corners. Do I have a bad offensive line?
I tink two running backs?
Speaker 2 (57:26):
But no at the core, I think ninety percent of
this listening audience.
Speaker 1 (57:29):
Would take two cornerbacks.
Speaker 2 (57:31):
I agree with you, because I think they felt like
they could shut down the passing game. I think it's
a simple question, right, Arnie. Is it a big deal
as a fan? Is it something where you're like, get
these running backs paid? I think you and I both
say no, that doesn't really matter to us. And you're
not gonna get us all fired up about it because
you had a zoom meeting together and there's not going
to be a strike. They're not going to walk out,
(57:51):
all right. So let's find out where these guys are
going when we come back. Arnie will let you know
where he sees Cream Hunt and Dalvin Cook Landing. Could
Eazekiel even end up back with the Cowboys. We'll talk
about a next as. We're brought to you by a

tell you why Andy's mat at you? Arnie?
Speaker 3 (58:19):
Yeah, you never told me upseid with you as.
Speaker 2 (58:21):
We're coming to you live from the tire Rack dot
Com studios. It's Arnie and Plank on a Fox Sports Sunday.
What was your number that you had down here? Eleven
days to the Hall of Fame game? Eleven days?
Speaker 1 (58:34):
Wow?
Speaker 2 (58:36):
So that means next week's show, next Sunday night here
on Fox Sports Radio will be our last.
Speaker 1 (58:44):
All right, this is our last show that doesn't lead
into a week where there's football.
Speaker 3 (58:49):
I'm still picking that game on my pick segment though,
I'm still doing that.
Speaker 2 (58:52):
Well, you have to do it two weeks in a
row because if you don't watch baseball and you're not
paying attention to what's going on in the women's world.
Speaker 3 (58:58):
Oh yeah, have a prediction for the Women's World Cup again?
So what Netherlands I have that?
Speaker 2 (59:01):
I haven't watched it. I haven't watched any of it.
I cannot get into it. I'm sorry, I wow, I know, right?
I anno profet love soccer. So I feel smart because
he'll tell me what's going on. But the best line
Profet had denied, It's like it's almost like it took
messy for people to realize soccer is pretty fun. Soil
I found out that that took all my soccer and
her energy this week, listen, Arnie, I have nil to
(59:23):
obsess over. Okay, I got the transfer portal to worry about.
I don't know if there's enough room in the file
cabinet up here to be talking about Women's World Cup
right now.
Speaker 1 (59:32):
Give me the finals and then.
Speaker 3 (59:34):
That's totally for a hard working talk show hosts like myself,
like you, you're well you you were born with the
keys to the ferrari. So you know, I just want
you to know that.
Speaker 1 (59:42):
Your first job was on national radio.
Speaker 2 (59:45):
I don't think you can talk about anyone uh having
the keys to the ferrari handed to them. You showed
them like I should go on the radio, and you
literally made a job and want one sport.
Speaker 3 (59:55):
I stole that from uh. You told me that that's
not a real quote from Dionna's I was using when
I said that to dude, Hold on pause the show, guys,
we got to have a show meeting here real quick,
sega prefet Yeah, I got a text from mart I
wasn't gonna bring this up.
Speaker 1 (01:00:12):
But since you.
Speaker 3 (01:00:13):
Brought it up, oh my goodness, So I thought I
wouldn't even have to be on the show today. If
this was true, I'm like, well, Plike's not even gonna
come up for air for the first two and a
half hours.
Speaker 2 (01:00:23):
So yesterday, yeah, by the way, yesterday, yes, I'm I'm
my niece is getting married, right, I'm doing the ceremony.
Speaker 1 (01:00:32):
Were busy, michiean So I was busy, my really, my phone.
Speaker 3 (01:00:37):
This is a four o'clock ceremony, okay, four pm Central?
But I had something important, right and if Kase, you
can't tell if it's important, Arnie, he doesn't care what
else is going on?
Speaker 1 (01:00:48):
What so what?
Speaker 3 (01:00:49):
So somebody's getting married? What's the big deal?
Speaker 1 (01:00:53):
Right? And the text says yo yo yo? And that
was it.
Speaker 2 (01:00:57):
So I waited, I, you know, got through all of
our stuff.
Speaker 1 (01:01:00):
Did to do.
Speaker 3 (01:01:02):
I'm very rude. You should have sped right.
Speaker 1 (01:01:05):
Reverend was a twelve minute ceremony.
Speaker 2 (01:01:06):
I don't know how much more I could have sped
it up, Arnie, he said, I just wanted to know
if you have the keys to the Ferrari lol, And
I said, I don't know, why did you hit a
bet or something? Here's his tweet, all right? Text back
to me. I thought, that's what Lincoln Riley said to
Britton Vinnables.
Speaker 3 (01:01:25):
I got the names wrong. If that would have been true,
you really would have loved that.
Speaker 1 (01:01:29):
Huh.
Speaker 2 (01:01:29):
So not only not only not only y'all did Arnie
get the quote wrong, but it was a fake quote.
Speaker 1 (01:01:39):
And he even got the coach wrong.
Speaker 3 (01:01:42):
That is by quote was better by coaches were better that.
Speaker 1 (01:01:45):
That was the hat trick of just like misinformation. And
you people wonder why I lose my mind on this
Roman numeral breakdown? How did you get Lincoln Riley talking
about from.
Speaker 3 (01:01:57):
That if it's a if it's a filmber too. I
want to be attributed to that. I want you to
know that. I want to be attribute You want to
be attributed to a fake quote?
Speaker 1 (01:02:06):
Right exactly?
Speaker 3 (01:02:07):
I want that quote to go to me now?
Speaker 1 (01:02:10):
Right?
Speaker 2 (01:02:10):
So now, since it was a fake quote, aren't he
wants credit for it?
Speaker 1 (01:02:14):
And you literally you could not have screwed.
Speaker 2 (01:02:16):
Up more on what that was about. It was I text,
you know what I'm not even mad. I'm not even
mad about how much is incorrect in this old text
that you've sent me. The funny thing is, I don't
even know how to put this except everyone kind of
caught and Brita Vinibles and patn Rnewsy have been saying
this all off season.
Speaker 1 (01:02:35):
It's not a knock against Dean Sanders.
Speaker 2 (01:02:37):
It's just pointing out, hey, Dion did that, we did this,
That's all he said. The fake quote that some PAC
twelve Facebook page made up right went more viral, I
think than any fake thing I've seen on Twitter or face.
You know, I've never I had more people sitting that
(01:02:59):
to me and literally right away like it's fake.
Speaker 1 (01:03:02):
It's fake.
Speaker 3 (01:03:04):
So you knew right away it was a fake quote.
Speaker 2 (01:03:05):
No, I mean I knew right away. Diont even comes
out and is like, it's fake quote. You know I
didn't say that, of course, Dion is like these most
recent attacks against Colorado, Bro, they're stating a fact about
what you did. No one is attacking you, Dion. They're
pointing out you are the one that has a camera
crew following you around to let them know that you're
(01:03:27):
bringing Louis with you and everyone's gone, So let me
use my best Oklahoma English here. You ready, ain't nobody
attacking you, Dion. We're stating facts, buddy, But I guys,
I have never So it's funny that not only did
you catch that a couple of days later, but that
somehow you attributed to Lincoln Riley, which.
Speaker 3 (01:03:45):
Would have been a better story, to be honest with you.
Speaker 8 (01:03:47):
Well, yeah, I mean of course it was, but I
mean an NFL reporter this week, Chris, did DeAndre Hopkins
quote Arnie story?
Speaker 3 (01:03:55):
Yeah, that's that's topic number fourteen on the Roman, number fourteen.
Speaker 1 (01:04:00):
From a number fourteen.
Speaker 5 (01:04:01):
You don't have enough drops for number fourteen.
Speaker 2 (01:04:03):
Thank you for hitting that so I don't have to
get to it later. But so anyway, yeah, there you go.
That's the fun in us putting our show together. Is
Arnie trying to attribute a fake de On Sanders quote
to Lincoln Riley?
Speaker 3 (01:04:14):
What did he exactly? Did he say? He goes you
were bored or that he didn't say it, but you
were born with the keys to the Ferrari. That's such
a great quote. I wanted to be true, you know, right,
but that's awesome.
Speaker 2 (01:04:25):
Unfortunately tis fake, So I appreciate how excited you were
to talk about a fake quote, but.
Speaker 1 (01:04:34):
I kind of think the boss Man wants a little
accuracy here on the stage network, just a little bit.
Speaker 3 (01:04:39):
Somebody would if you didn't say it was fake, nobody
would have known.
Speaker 1 (01:04:42):
I think everybody pretty much fail well.
Speaker 2 (01:04:44):
When Keon Sanders text tweets out, Hey, that fake quote
that's going around, Please direct me to that person, so
I don't. I don't know if he's trying to get
him arrested or what. But Keon was even mad about it.
So we need accuracy. That's why Steve de Sacre comes
strolling into the tiraq dot com studios with everything going
on in the world of sports, factual and accurate.
Speaker 1 (01:05:04):
Steve, that's you.
Speaker 8 (01:05:05):
By the way, last Sunday night on the show, we
were talking about that classic Wimbledon final where Djokovic was
beaten by Carlos Alcarez, and we wondered on the show
last week, what would have the better TV ratings that
week the SB Awards, which was in primetime on ABC
or Sunday Morning Tennis on Cable. We have the answer.
(01:05:28):
SB Awards two point three million viewers, Tennis three point two.
Speaker 1 (01:05:32):
Million, viewers.
Speaker 8 (01:05:34):
Let's go another million or so in the encore on
ABC the Repat later in the day, so it really
wasn't close.
Speaker 3 (01:05:44):
Just for the record, I'm shocked at the SP's got
that many. That's that's crazy.
Speaker 8 (01:05:48):
It was what the lowest watched, least watched edition of
that whatever you want to get that show is so
painted except for the when there was no audience.
Speaker 2 (01:05:58):
You know what I've I've watched Median's bomb. I listen
to me sometimes on this show, but I've watched comedians
bomb before that are less painful than watching the SP's.
The the most redeeming thing from that was an Amar
Hamlin thing.
Speaker 1 (01:06:10):
It was cool, it was really Everything else was just god.
Speaker 8 (01:06:14):
The sp audience, like five six years ago, was double
what it is getting these days.
Speaker 3 (01:06:19):
Really, Wow, it's gone down quick.
Speaker 1 (01:06:21):
Everyone's kind of done with it. Move all SP's, let's
do something new.
Speaker 8 (01:06:25):
Moving ahead to football season, although, as you mentioned, how
soon the what do they call it, the Hall of
Fame Exhibition. You can't call it an exhibition. It's a preseason, preseason.
When that comes up, we get excited. We get to
see actual NFL uniforms and people competing on the field.
And then we realize, oh, for crying out loud, I'm
(01:06:48):
not going to see any of these guys in September.
This I've been duped again. This isn't really the product
that I love. It's going to be that all through
all through August. But at least we're getting closer to September.
That's that's my excitement, not that we're closer to seeing
the Hall of Fame game.
Speaker 5 (01:07:02):
It's like the stations of the Cross, just you know,
you just keep going through them until you arrive at
the conclusion.
Speaker 1 (01:07:06):
Like, ah, we are here, let's go.
Speaker 8 (01:07:09):
Once we get to September, we'll all be happy. Most
NFL veterans do report to training camp on Tuesday, so
we're getting close to that. Raiders quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo passed
his physical Denversus running back Javonte Williams will not start
camp on the PUP list. Ravens wide receiver Rashad Bateman
was reinstated from the did not report list. You have
no idea how many lists there are in the NFL.
(01:07:31):
Just for the record, it's an unknown number. Denny Hamblin
took the NASCAR race at Pocono and golf Major which
we can't call the British Open anymore, was won by
an American, Brian Harmon, a six stroke victory at the
Women's World Cup FS one. We'll have a triple header
starting late tonight, beginning two am Eastern Time, with Italy
against Argentina. Then Germany plays after that, then Brazil plays
(01:07:54):
after that. There was an exhibition at the Rose Bowl tonight,
sell out for Real Madrid coming back to be ac
Milan three to two. Real Madrid had trailed to nothing
at the half. And we do have one NBA note.
Reportedly the league's board of governors has approved the sale
of the Charlotte Hornets. The Sunday night ballgame at Boston
went to the Red Sox over the Mets six to one,
(01:08:14):
although Artie had the Mets winning. I don't know if
that's quite accurate, but he's had the Mets winning most
of the games they played this year.
Speaker 3 (01:08:21):
Wow. Hey wait, that was Joey NBA note, yay, I
have Roman numerals sixteen JOELMB going to the New York Knicks.
We you don't have a confirmation on that one yet. No, no, okay,
we don't ry on that one. One through fifteen on
your list. Wow the Angel show.
Speaker 8 (01:08:38):
Hey Otani in an early home run, thirty sixth of
the year for him, that leads the majors. Halo's b
Pittsburgh seven to five, Toronto and Texas with wins. Cincinnati
won its fifth in a row. Atlanta got a three
run homer in the eighth from Ozzie Albi's to win
four to two at Milwaukee. The Brewers are the first
place team in the NL Central, but just a half
game over the Reds and Tomarrow It's Cincinnati at Milwaukee.
(01:09:02):
Ten inning wins for Philadelphia and Miami, and Minnesota won
in twelve innings against the White Sox five to four.
The Twins are first in the AL Central, three games
ahead of Cleveland. Cleveland's in a race with a record
of forty nine and fifty Becky.
Speaker 1 (01:09:17):
Ouch forty nine and fifty times.
Speaker 8 (01:09:20):
So the only five hundred team in the division.
Speaker 3 (01:09:23):
You know.
Speaker 1 (01:09:23):
I saw this note a couple of minutes ago.
Speaker 2 (01:09:25):
I was in I think this is a first in
the history of Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 1 (01:09:30):
We need to check the record books.
Speaker 2 (01:09:32):
I have done two shows from two distinctly different area coaches. Today, Arnie,
I was in the Saint Louis area this morning with
Andy Furman, and I'm back in God's Country Norman, Oklahoma.
Speaker 3 (01:09:45):
Look here this evening.
Speaker 1 (01:09:46):
That's right, big day.
Speaker 2 (01:09:48):
Anyone ever want to travel with a fourteen year old
and a nine year old daughter that fight all the time.
I'm just gonna give you one piece of advice, don't don't.
Thanks see, But so Car, you know, usually when I'm
home and I'm glad you brought up that note about
how challenged things have been in that A. Let's in
be AFC North and that al that north. Here is
(01:10:09):
the here's the Cardinals numbers. They are forty four and
fifty six this season. It's their worst record through one
hundred games since nineteen ninety five, which, again, in my
world really doesn't seem like that long ago. But do
you know who the Cardinals managers or in two thousand
(01:10:33):
and five?
Speaker 3 (01:10:33):
Arenie going way back then? No, not off the top
of my head.
Speaker 1 (01:10:38):
Joe Tory.
Speaker 3 (01:10:39):
Oh, I was gonna guess him.
Speaker 4 (01:10:41):
Then?
Speaker 1 (01:10:41):
Why didn't you guess him? Joe Tory and Mike Jorgenson.
Speaker 3 (01:10:46):
Wouldn't have guessed him.
Speaker 1 (01:10:47):
I know Tory, but it's wild because usually my family
has been lifelong Cardinal season ticket holders. I mean they
love the Cardinals. We didn't even talk about him this week.
We didn't eve sit and watch a game. They were
playing the Cubs this weekend, Arnie, the Cubs. It is.
It is a sad state of affairs in Saint Louis
(01:11:09):
right now.
Speaker 2 (01:11:09):
And suddenly, you know, the Dodgers are good. You look
around that the NL Central, they're.
Speaker 1 (01:11:17):
One division. Now, by the way, did I say the
ALE South.
Speaker 2 (01:11:19):
I'm sorry the AL Central with what you were looking at,
but you look around the NL Central. The Brewers are
playing well, the Reds are playing well. You know, the
Cubs won two of three this week. And from the Cardinals,
I mean, as far as storied franchises are concerned here
in twenty twenty three, I don't know if there's been
The Yankees and the Red Sox are pretty bad this year.
Speaker 1 (01:11:40):
Maybe you had that trio Yankees, Red Sox, Cardinals all
being terrible in the same season. And at least the
Yankees and the Red Sox, Arnie, are over five hundred.
The Cardinals are eleven games under five hundred.
Speaker 8 (01:11:51):
Right now, almost dead last.
Speaker 3 (01:11:53):
Yeah, they're miserable, absolutely miserable.
Speaker 2 (01:11:55):
So it's absolutely sad, all right, listen, we gotta hit Twitter,
stinking genius one. I'm at Plank Show and everybody should
be following us at Fox Sports Radio. Tsarady and Plank
come into your live from the tire rack dot Com studios. Okay,
here's one that has me a little bit concerned because
I actually have to agree with like my arch and
(01:12:16):
nemesis on the show, Roger the Engineer, because I hate
to say this because I think it's true and it
worries me for your health as this person who is
just dead set on the Dolphins going to the super Bowl.
Roger writes, I know you all think I'm being a homer,
but I pay a lot of attention to the Chiefs
roster and I really think they will be better this year. Wide,
(01:12:38):
receivers better overall, rookies on defense that they one with
are better, plus other defensive additions, and the offensive line
will be better.
Speaker 3 (01:12:51):
Better than fourteen and three, as I already says, So
what fifteen and two sixteen to one?
Speaker 2 (01:12:57):
Well, I mean, I just think he means in general,
I don't think record is necessarily what matters. It's they're
gonna win their division. But I just think overall, a
team that they feel more confident about going to the
super Bowl again.
Speaker 3 (01:13:10):
They already won their division. I'm surprised to Sega doesn't
even say that in the updates. That's embarrassing. You should
just say the Chiefs have clinched to the AFC West.
That's already done over. O v E R. Over, It's
o V E R you have you have been over
for months already about you have.
Speaker 2 (01:13:27):
No faith in the Chargers or the when you move
on from Orlando Brown Junior, who goes from being the
starting left tackle for the Chiefs the starting left tackle
for the Bengals.
Speaker 1 (01:13:39):
You're bringing Donovan Smith, which is a good addition.
Speaker 2 (01:13:42):
But here's the weird thing, man, you want to talk
about devaluing running backs, bro, what is.
Speaker 1 (01:13:49):
What is Patrick Mahomes doing right now to the wide.
Speaker 2 (01:13:51):
Receiver market if he's able to get guys like Sky
Moore and Marcus uh Marcus Vaulting Scantling paid, or everyone's
losing their mind about how Justin Ross has looked so
far and can't remember Aaron Rodgers before he got Davante Adams.
Everyone's like, oh, yeah, Jordan Nelson, but does you really
need a superstar receiver? I'm sorry, to wonder. I hate
(01:14:12):
it because I can't stand the freaking Chiefs, but Mahomes
is making it. I mean, and he's taken a good
decent contract for the team too. Sounds it's unreal what
they got going on in Kansas City, right?
Speaker 3 (01:14:23):
What are you saying they're gonna start devaluing the wide
receiver position because you don't need superstars all over the place?
Is that what's going on?
Speaker 4 (01:14:31):
Well?
Speaker 2 (01:14:31):
I mean, you look what the Chiefs have with the
wide receiver position, and I take what your Dolphins have.
What's the saying every day and twice on Sunday? Hell,
I might take what the Raiders have at wide receiver?
I mean, were what the Chiefs have?
Speaker 5 (01:14:45):
Didn't I get a little bit of this with between
aj Brown and then how long it took to get
Hopkins signed?
Speaker 1 (01:14:51):
Yeah?
Speaker 5 (01:14:52):
Like, and I know for a lot of the guys
who were talking who seeing analytical guys who talk about,
you know, salary cap stuff and why you don't give
this second contract, running backs are already starting to talk
about the depth of wide receiver every year in a
draft like they could very well be the next position
that gets this. You know, we're just gonna keep you
on a rookie contract and then just replace you.
Speaker 1 (01:15:14):
It could be next, It could be next, and then
oh we gotta go.
Speaker 2 (01:15:17):
But mister nobody writes, Jimmy G on the Raiders is
like cooking a good cart to a jackass. The cart
might be solid, but the jackass leading it doesn't know
what it's doing.
Speaker 4 (01:15:27):
Wow.
Speaker 2 (01:15:28):
I think that might be kind to think that the
Raiders are a good cart that a jackass like Jimmy
G is hauling around. But hey, hey, if he stays healthy, Arnie,
they got a chance to win four games.
Speaker 1 (01:15:39):
Tell me there's a chance. All right.
Speaker 2 (01:15:41):
When we come back to Saga takes Over, we got
more of your tweets to get to Arnie's picks are
right around the corner, and tons of sound, including me
nerding out on Nisle. It's all coming up on Fox
Sports Radio. All right, it's Arnie and Plank on a
Fox Sports Sunday. Steve Sager is in the ho from
the Tyrock dot Com studios.
Speaker 1 (01:16:02):
What are we missing out on? Steve?
Speaker 8 (01:16:03):
Another thing about the Cardinals who you mentioned, are just
about dead last in the NL Central right now, and
they had won six straight until this weekend. So that
includes that stretch. Even with that, they're almost dead last.
They were at the Cubs again today and down seven
to nothing in the third inning, lost seven to two
to a pitcher Jamison Tyne, who had an ERA up
(01:16:24):
near six this season. Cody Bellinger for the Cubs, a
homer and three RBIs he's batting three nineteen well. Scott
Rowland entered the Hall of Fame as a Saint Louis
Cardinal today. He played his first six and a half
years in the majors for the Phillies.
Speaker 3 (01:16:38):
Who drilled Yeah, that's how I remember him.
Speaker 8 (01:16:40):
Eagle gloves at third base. You know, a player needs
seventy five percent of the writers vote to get into
the Hall. Roland finally got seventy six percent. It was
this year career batting average two eighty one. The other
player in Fred McGriff. His Hall of Fame plaque does
not feature any team's logo because he played for all
of them. No, actually six different teams, none more than
four full seas. He did have close to five hundred
(01:17:02):
career homers four ninety three. But Fred McGriff finished top
five in MVP voting once. He never got more than
forty percent of the writers vote, but a committee unanimously
put him in this offseason up for the whole next year.
Adrian Beltre and others. I looked for a comparison for
the Women's World Cup ratings that the US got on Friday.
And here, remember the NBA actually had exciting playoff games
(01:17:25):
the first couple of rounds. It's not always that way.
The ratings were very good for the first couple rounds
this year. ESPN and ABC the first two playoff rounds
for NBA postseason this year, they got this was the
average for the first two rounds five point two to
three million viewers, which is way more than they get
during regular season over five mil. US Women's soccer, though,
(01:17:46):
got five point two six mil for its opener on
Friday night on Fox. And that was a first round,
first group stage game, and it was against a team
Vietnam that's not only not ranked in the top twenty five,
had never been to a World Cup before, and literally
did not have a shot in the game. The US
house shot them twenty eight to nothing, and still it
(01:18:07):
was one of the top ten audiences for a Women's
World Cup match on a single network. This is not
a semifinal. This is not a final. This is also opposite,
by the way, not only SmackDown on a Friday, which
they had to move to FS one, it was opposite
the messy debut in Miami, and that doesn't include the
extra million in this country on streaming and in Spanish.
(01:18:30):
So it was just a great, great opening. They'll be
playing a real opponent on Wednesday night on Fox TV,
the Americans against Netherlands. This was the final four years
ago at the World Cup, and the US faced the
Netherlands in the Olympics two years ago and won on
penalty kicks in a quarterfinal to advance. All three of
the US group stage matches are being played in New Zealand.
(01:18:52):
The finale will be against Portugal, which also has never
been to a World Cup before and yet only lost
one nothing to Netherlands today early goal in that one.
Portugal had no shots in the first eighty minutes of
that game. Just for the record. Number three, Sweden needed
a goal ninetieth minute to beat South Africa to one,
and we saw a double doink. No football yet, but
(01:19:12):
France played a zero zero tie somehow against Jamaica this morning.
A French shot in the ninetieth minute hit the bar
twice top side and out to Major League Baseball. Geez well,
the Cincinnati Reds have won five straight. They were tied
three to three in the sixth beat Arizona seven to three.
I will say the Diamondbacks and Giants tied for second
(01:19:34):
in the NL West. Arizona's lost four straight, Giants have
lost five in a row. But those two do hold
the final two NL wildcard spots at the moment, just
ahead of Philadelphia and Miami. You remember last year they
added the extra wild card. Philadelphia got it and they
wound up winning the pennant.
Speaker 1 (01:19:51):
So we'll see back to you, Gray, Steph Steve were
brought to you by Discover.

Speaker 3 (01:20:35):
Our out?
Speaker 4 (01:20:36):
You know?
Speaker 3 (01:20:37):
I just realized go ahead, and I should have known
this earlier. Between my Dolphins and my Arizona Wildcats, both
my teams will be undefeated going into October.
Speaker 1 (01:20:47):
Can't even let us get through the opening segment?
Speaker 3 (01:20:50):

Speaker 1 (01:21:04):
I am on your Wildcats.
Speaker 3 (01:21:06):
Oh yeah, we owe Mississippi beat Mississippi State a beat
down like they never seen so well.
Speaker 2 (01:21:13):
I don't know if you're going to be Missippi State,
you think you're gonna get down. I do think you're
gonna hit the over this year, but I don't think.
I think Missippi State's pretty good. I think Missippi State's
a team that I'd be putting an over bet on
this year too.
Speaker 1 (01:21:25):
I think the Pulldogs are good.
Speaker 3 (01:21:27):
Now they predicted in the in the sec what they
what do they have in the.
Speaker 2 (01:21:31):
Oh they didn't have him very high in the way, right,
but well neither were your Wildcats.
Speaker 3 (01:21:37):
And which is shocking to be honest with you.
Speaker 1 (01:21:40):
Why why do you do this to me?
Speaker 2 (01:21:41):
I mean, you know, I study and I and I
try to really put some thought into this and you
basically just come in here and talk like you know
anything college right now? Well, how are you feeling about
the quarterback position right now?
Speaker 3 (01:21:56):
I love it?
Speaker 4 (01:21:57):
Man?
Speaker 3 (01:21:57):
What are your first that joint position that we're like,
that's our best position?
Speaker 1 (01:22:03):
In depth breakdown, you're not gonna be got goode.
Speaker 3 (01:22:09):
We got good wide receivers, we got easy schedule, we'll
probably start off five and oh also before we go
to USC there you.
Speaker 1 (01:22:16):
Go, Well, we'll see, we'll see how it pans out.
Speaker 3 (01:22:19):
You actually, for a guy that knows football so well,
you're seem to be wrong on everything lately.
Speaker 1 (01:22:24):
I know. Isn't it just about because there's so much
football being played?
Speaker 7 (01:22:26):
Right?
Speaker 5 (01:22:26):
No?
Speaker 2 (01:22:26):
Yeah, exactly, I'm just I'm wrong on the Dolphins not
going to the Super Bowl right now, I'm wrong on
the Arizona Wildcats and not winning the national championship.
Speaker 1 (01:22:35):
You're right, I'm swinging and missing on a lot.
Speaker 3 (01:22:37):
I didn't say they were gonna win a championship. Pump
the breaks there? Well, what words of my mouth? Come on?
Speaker 1 (01:22:43):
Now, then, what are you saying?
Speaker 3 (01:22:45):
Well, they'll start off five and oh is what I'm saying.
Speaker 1 (01:22:48):
How many of those games do you think they'll be favorites?
Speaker 4 (01:22:51):
Uh?
Speaker 3 (01:22:52):
Three, I'll be right, three out of will be favorite
over NAU and you tap. I guarantee you that.
Speaker 2 (01:23:00):
Well, you also guaranteed me that Miami would be favored
in the first two games.
Speaker 3 (01:23:04):
Come on.
Speaker 2 (01:23:05):
That took a quick Google search to find out that
you were already wrong on that front. So a lot
of fingers at people being wrong, Arnie, when maybe that
finger needs to be pointed back.
Speaker 3 (01:23:14):
I can't wait for you here. This is the first
time I've ever been excited about college in a long time.
Speaker 2 (01:23:19):
No, no, no, here's what you can't wait for ye
and you're not alone as we come to you live
from the ti rack dot Com studios. Tire rack dot
com will help you get They're an unmatched selection, fast
free shipping, free road hazard protection, and over ten thousand
recommended installers. Ti rack dot Com the way tire buying
should be.
Speaker 1 (01:23:37):
We owe you.
Speaker 2 (01:23:37):
We owe you two contractually mandated sports radio segments that
will happen on every single sports already happened on every
sports radio Joe last week, and will happen this upcoming
week two. We'll get those coming up here in just
a bit. But here's what you can't wait for with college. Yeah,
you can't wait to grinch and moan about the week
zero schedule.
Speaker 1 (01:23:56):
That's what you can't wait to.
Speaker 3 (01:23:58):
Yeah. I do that every year, though it seems.
Speaker 2 (01:24:00):
But again, it's just it's better than nothing. This is
what I get. I get, Notre Dame and Navy. I've
got to watch you tep in Jacksonville.
Speaker 1 (01:24:08):
I hear it now.
Speaker 3 (01:24:09):
If you have not fed me for a month, I
need more than a Tune office sandwich to get me
through the day. I can't can't have that get me
my first meal when I break the fast, I need
something more than that. Appetizers, Arnie, Come on, you don't
start the dinner with the steak.
Speaker 1 (01:24:27):
You have a nice salad.
Speaker 2 (01:24:29):
You maybe get some mushroom caps or a crab cake
or something.
Speaker 3 (01:24:33):
You don't even give me that though, Oh, I get
you a nice little side. Give me a demiu, you
give me a salad that's got a few pieces of
lettuce and not enough dressing. I hate when they do that.
Speaker 2 (01:24:43):
You get a team that's got what was it, four
first place votes in the SEC and Vanderbilt playing Hawaii,
you get Notre Dame and Navy. Come on, now, Arnie,
that game is by the way in Dublin, Ireland.
Speaker 1 (01:24:57):
And then you get USC and sand you get to
defending He's been trophy winner.
Speaker 2 (01:25:01):
So I'm so excited for that Sunday show on when
would that be August twenty seven, to come in here
and hear you complain about everything.
Speaker 1 (01:25:09):
I'm pumped for that. You know you're You're not alone,
though everyone will.
Speaker 2 (01:25:14):
It's like, gosh, we're gonna do something about these week
zero schedules. Meanwhile, you turn around in Week one, you
get Florida State and LSU, you get you get West
Virginia and Penn State, North Carolina, South Carolina.
Speaker 1 (01:25:27):
But all Week zero sucks. The football season is going
to be tea.
Speaker 3 (01:25:30):
By the way, they don't call it week zero anymore, right,
it's week one, they officially call it.
Speaker 2 (01:25:34):
Or what oh, who cares? It's Week zero? I mean,
you could call a week one all you won. Week
one is September fifth. I mean that that weekend that
starts with the Thursday games, and you know we actually
have you know, one or two decent Thursday games. I'm
intrigued by North Carolina State, Yukon, Florida and Utah is
a Thursday game.
Speaker 1 (01:25:52):
Last year that was the massive, massive moment for Florida.
Speaker 2 (01:25:56):
Wherever it's, oh my gosh, they're gonna be great, and
then they suck the rest of the year. Friday night,
Friday Night, there's some good games on September first. So
I mean, if you're gonna try to sell me that
your Week one schedule, Arnie is dotted by Ohio at
San Diego State, we got to stop that. I mean,
come on, less and less we're gonna agree. Then they're
gonna start making it a major deal.
Speaker 1 (01:26:17):
Right.
Speaker 2 (01:26:17):
If we're gonna start making it a major deal, do it.
But don't try to call it week one. That was
that was reminiscent. This is reminiscent to me of when they.
Speaker 1 (01:26:27):
Tried to call the first four in the NCAA tournament.
Remember that this is really the first round, and we're
all like.
Speaker 3 (01:26:34):
Yeah, no, no, no, it is not at all. And
you know what, some of these games us you mentioned,
the spreads are not even gonna be all that close.
To be honest with you, I mean, well, listen, you're
not getting a true marquee matchup in college football until Thursday,
August thirty.
Speaker 2 (01:26:51):
First, you're getting Florida in Utah. And I don't know
Florida's gonna be good this year. They're gonna be better.
Utah's got a chance, right, They've got a chance to
be real again this year. If you can wade through
Florida International at Louisiana Tech Arnie, if you can make
it through UMass in New Mexico State, then I think
(01:27:11):
you'll be rewarded in oh I'm sorry, week two of
the college football season, but it's coming up.
Speaker 1 (01:27:17):
It's right around.
Speaker 3 (01:27:17):
You think they put their best games then right before
the NFL starts, to kind of get everybody's appetite wet,
you know what I mean. I don't don't know why
they're going to the opposite.
Speaker 2 (01:27:26):
I wish I wish they put more games on Labor Day.
I wish they put more games on September fourth. I
don't understand why they only put one game on September fourth.
Speaker 1 (01:27:38):
College. To me, college football.
Speaker 2 (01:27:40):
Has done a much better job over the last decade
of making that first full weekend of college football a
bigger deal. You have your kickoff classics right there. There's
been years when Alabama and USC play each other, you
always get a few marquee matchups. I don't understand why
we only have one game.
Speaker 3 (01:27:56):
On Well, that's what the Clemson duke game right now.
Speaker 2 (01:27:58):
That's Clemson Duke and oh boy, we'll see how that
thing pans out.
Speaker 1 (01:28:02):
But it's it's getting here slowly, but surely it's.
Speaker 3 (01:28:05):
More of a basketball game than football game.
Speaker 2 (01:28:07):
But well, Clem's is pretty good. I think they're going
to be a national championship contender this year. But I'll
tell you what, in lieu of talking N I L.
There's your college football segment. Prepare for Arnie grinching about.
Speaker 3 (01:28:20):
Jo is going to be this year?
Speaker 1 (01:28:22):
Pretty good.
Speaker 3 (01:28:23):
We'll find out, damn, I mean good. Cautiously optimistic, Arnie cautious.
Speaker 2 (01:28:30):
Here's the problem. Here's the problem with Oklahoma. And everyone
knows this. There were three and o last year and
looked like world beaters. They're going to be three and
oh again.
Speaker 1 (01:28:36):
This year.
Speaker 2 (01:28:37):
Everything that starts to matter starts in week four, right,
maybe even not until week six when they play Texas.
Speaker 1 (01:28:43):
So you gotta be five and OHO.
Speaker 3 (01:28:45):
Very easy schedule with you guys. It's disgusting.
Speaker 1 (01:28:47):
Oh, I know, right, so simple to play Texas.
Speaker 3 (01:28:49):
You play a high school, I think, don't you.
Speaker 2 (01:28:51):
Yes, yes, that uh, that is a high school that
they play, and you were bragging about being a favorite
over Northern Arizona.
Speaker 3 (01:28:59):
So perspective, I lost to them not too long ago.
Speaker 2 (01:29:03):
I know you did the Lumberjacks if I'm not mistaken. Listen,
I've got we've got to get our contractually mandated conversations
about show. Hey o Tani, Yes, we've got to get
that in here, right because everyone in sports radio has
to have a take on that. And listen, I know
you don't want to talk golf or anything of that nature,
(01:29:23):
but I feel like we're contractually obligated to go back
and circle to the running back market. But Arnie our Man,
Shady Sean for twenty and Fox Sports Radio superstar Mike
Harmon send us a story now, I will say, in
the battle to be first, I do think Shady Sean
for twenty hit us up with this first, so we
(01:29:43):
must ask, did you and your wife steal from the
Beetlejuice movie set?
Speaker 1 (01:29:51):
Have you seen this story? Yeah?
Speaker 3 (01:29:53):
I saw the story.
Speaker 4 (01:29:53):
You know.
Speaker 3 (01:29:54):
They're filming out about forty five minutes from my house,
and they were doing a lot of the filming the
week I was filling in. I think I filled it
like a Wednesday, Thursday, Friday that week. So I was
going to go down there and want to be an extra,
just kind of weasel my way in there. But I
didn't have a time to really go in there. But no,
I didn't. I did not steal that piece of beautiful
(01:30:17):
artwork that's missing. No, I do have to tell you,
I do know people that went down there really and
it would not you know, I wouldn't give it a
second thought if they were the ones that I just
stole it.
Speaker 1 (01:30:28):
To be honest with you question, are they still filming
like the writers strike and everything that's going on.
Speaker 3 (01:30:35):
Yeah, I think they're close to being done with it. Yeah.
I think they actually thought they filmed during the strike,
but I'm not one hundred percent sure about that.
Speaker 2 (01:30:41):
By the way, I'm going to tell you something. This
was my first I guess understanding that they were filming
a Beetle Juice Too.
Speaker 3 (01:30:49):
I had no idea did we need to do we
really need a Beetle Juice Too. To be honest with.
Speaker 2 (01:30:54):
You, no, we don't, which is why I'm asking why
we're doing this right now.
Speaker 1 (01:30:59):
But for the wondering the story.
Speaker 2 (01:31:01):
Police are looking for those responsible for stealing a one
hundred and fifty pounds statue and other items from the
set of Beetlejuice Too, which is being filmed in Vermont.
Speaker 3 (01:31:14):
Yeah, about forty five minutes from my house. Really, Yeah,
I felt like.
Speaker 2 (01:31:18):
You couldn't get in and out of there, like you
barely get your mail once a week. How they have
able to shoot a movie up there?
Speaker 3 (01:31:24):
Yeah, well they build their own sets up in some
town that's just south of us, because there's really not
a lot there.
Speaker 2 (01:31:31):
So I guess it's the second time they've had issues
with people stealing stuff.
Speaker 1 (01:31:36):
That guy's Vermont.
Speaker 3 (01:31:38):
We don't like your cut up here, man.
Speaker 1 (01:31:41):
Come on, now, try that stuff in Vermont. We're gonna
deal it from you.
Speaker 3 (01:31:45):
The crew was I think Michael Keaton was up here,
and I forget the Ona Rider, and you know, they're
the full cast up here making their okay, may I.
Speaker 2 (01:31:56):
Just I mean, before we got into this and really
got deep, I wanted to make sure that we didn't
we didn't have to harbor a fugitive or anything here
in the Tirack dot coms too.
Speaker 3 (01:32:05):
No, no, no, I'm sure it was just a bunch
of trunk college kids probably went down there and said, hey,
look at this, let's steal what. They probably left it out.
You know, it's so funny because right down the street
from my house there's a place that leaves out like
their chairs and stuff, not even tied out. Nobody even
takes that so really shocked. Yeah, all right, well as well,
we're the poon docks here. You know that, don't you.
Speaker 1 (01:32:26):
I feel like you say that, but I kind of
think if we went there'd be a little bit more
domesticated than you tend to make it out to me.
Speaker 3 (01:32:35):
You better be careful and locked those doors, and we
see strange cars. We don't like your kind. You don't
like I told you when I was I was out
at six o'clock one night coming back from the station,
and the police pulled me over, asked me why I
was out so late, So six.
Speaker 2 (01:32:50):
Pm Eastern time, by the way, which is five o'clock Central,
three o'clock on the West coast.
Speaker 3 (01:32:54):
You don like when you're out after the sun goes
down around here, So.
Speaker 2 (01:32:57):
To contractually obligated. It's radio topics, aren't he? And both
of them? You can say I told you so. Maybe
all right, let's hit number one here. Yeah, the go
Tani's getting moved.
Speaker 3 (01:33:10):
We got told what August first or another week? Yeah,
we got another week. You know, we heard the talk,
we heard the rumors. Now we're down to the last
eight days. We know that if he's going to get traded,
it's gonna come down to the last minute. I'm still
staying by. Yes, he will get traded. No way the
Angels could keep him. I told you My source on
that is common sense. Nobody goes ahead and keeps a
(01:33:33):
guy like that if he's going to walk away, and
he's going to walk away, so I'm still gonna go
ahead and trade him. What if they trade him to
a non contender, I mean, like me, Saint Louis or
something like that, right.
Speaker 2 (01:33:44):
Exactly, like the Cardinals, the Rockies, I mean, they've all
been mentioned. I mean, that's that is just wild to
me to think that he could end up in a spot.
Speaker 1 (01:33:56):
That's actually worse off than what he is in Ani.
Speaker 3 (01:33:59):
Yeah, but it's just for a couple of months, so
it really doesn't go ahead and make it difference because then
he becomes a free agent. I don't think that's going
to happen. Let's be honest. We all know where he
wants to go, and that's what he wants to play
for the L eight Dodgers.
Speaker 1 (01:34:10):
So I don't think anyone knows where he wants to go.
Speaker 3 (01:34:13):
You mean I'm breaking up breaking news here? Yeah, you're
breaking up breaking this is a breaking story.
Speaker 1 (01:34:17):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:34:18):
Yeah, Where did you get this? Is this common sense?
Again that he wants to play for the Dodgers.
Speaker 3 (01:34:23):
I got it the same place I got the keys
to the Ferrari is where I got it from.
Speaker 2 (01:34:26):
Right yet my personal favorite, by the way, speaking of
tweets that you send me, you did send me a
tweet two weeks ago from someone that said, show, hey,
O'tani has just been traded to the Dodgers and already
had a photoshopped in a Dodgers uniforms.
Speaker 3 (01:34:40):
So did I send you a bad story? I don't
remember that one.
Speaker 2 (01:34:43):
Oh yeah, you've sent me several Yeah, Steve Kurr fired
one time, not what I remember, Yes, but you had
Otani already being Dell and that's just uh.
Speaker 3 (01:34:53):
I do think he wants to play for the Dodgers.
There's no uh, you know, anybody that broke that story
or anything like that. I think he wants to stay
in southern California. Dodgers would be a good fit for him.
I certainly think he could maximize his star potential there.
It's just a win win situation. He really wouldn't have
to move. I don't know why. I don't know a
(01:35:16):
better fitth than that right now than them?
Speaker 1 (01:35:17):
Well I would.
Speaker 2 (01:35:19):
I wouldn't rule out your Mets for trying to do
something in a lost season, right Steve Cohen treats that
team like a fantasy baseball team, So why not. It's like, Hey,
we need something to get going here, so you go
get Shoe, Hey Otani, bring him to the Big Apple.
Speaker 1 (01:35:34):
I think it'd be a great fit.
Speaker 2 (01:35:35):
I get the sense though, he wants to stay on
the West Coast, and I have no sources whatsoever. I
don't think anybody does when it comes to Otani. I mean, hell,
he even said through his interpreter the other day, I
haven't really had those conversations with anyone.
Speaker 1 (01:35:47):
But you're sitting here today, I don't know what the
date is, July twenty third.
Speaker 2 (01:35:52):
There you go into the twenty fourth in the Eastern
and Central time zone, and you're a firm believer that
he's on his way out and he won't be an
angel by Would it be this time next week? Middle
of next week? August first, you're you're saying he's done,
so done in Anaheim.
Speaker 3 (01:36:07):
Yeah, he's gonna be done. And I really believe he's
gonna be a Dodger too. It's gonna and I know
you're never gonna trade him to the Dodgers. Artie Marino.
Where is it from? Why is never gonna be? I
don't I don't know why he wouldn't do that, especially
if he's not in the long haul for the team.
And don't tell me he's in for the long haul one.
He's already threatened to sell the team one. So I
would think you get whatever the best is. The Dodgers
(01:36:28):
only have riches in the Farm League, I would I
think it's a win win situation for both.
Speaker 2 (01:36:33):
Now the other contractually obligated topics. Some might say, when
it's talking National Football League.
Speaker 1 (01:36:39):
It would be running backs.
Speaker 2 (01:36:41):
No, no, no, not the case, because when we come
back another Arnie, I told you so. Wow It up
next from the Tirack dot Com studio. It's it's Arny
in Plank on Fox Sports Radio. Seemed like it happened
two days ago, but big story in sports. Brian harm
In the winner of the Open Championship. The Saga has
all the baseball scores and two new members of the
Baseball Hall of Fame coming up here in just a
(01:37:03):
bit on Fox Sports Radio. As we come to you
live from the tire Rock dot Com studios. Arnie and
Plank also brought to you by Progressive Insurance. Progressive makes
bundling easy and affordable. Get a multi policy discount by
combining your motorcycle, RV, boat, ATV and more all your

Now I know that you're not a big I told
(01:37:25):
you so guy?
Speaker 3 (01:37:26):
Are you no?
Speaker 1 (01:37:27):
Not at all?
Speaker 4 (01:37:28):
Now?
Speaker 1 (01:37:28):
What never has been your thing?
Speaker 2 (01:37:30):
But you might have a chance to say I told
you so. If Otani gets dealt in, what would that
be like? Ten days? Eight days? But your ultimate I
told you so could happen at the end of this year.
And it's why I think ourman Andy Ferman is very
upset with you, because you are a firm believer and
a placer of Bill Belichick on the hot seat, right
(01:37:52):
fuego seat. Now, I have a lot of questions about
this because, as I brought up this morning, if Bill
Belichick can't avoid the hot seat, aren'tie none of us
are safe.
Speaker 3 (01:38:04):
No, But I think this is going to be his
last year. But they're going to finish in the last place,
and I think there's gonna be a rift between him
and Craft and call it whatever you want to be,
that he's stepping down. They'll never get fired, they'll never
say that directly, but stepping down retiring and then they'll
end up going to another team probably or something like that.
I gotta feel that this will be his last year
(01:38:25):
for the Patriots.
Speaker 2 (01:38:26):
Well, okay, with all that said, should it be you're
talking about? Honestly, and I'm not a big mount Rushmore guy,
I think it's I think it's become one of the
most ridiculous conversations in sports. But here we are in
late July and football camps are just starting, but you're
talking about one of the greatest coaches in the history
(01:38:49):
of the game, right, I mean, hands.
Speaker 3 (01:38:50):
Down, you could say the same thing about Landry once
the Cowboys got rid of him and they won a
couple of Super Bowls. Tom Landry didn't win eight Super Bowls,
Arnie still great? Talking about still a great coach?
Speaker 1 (01:39:03):
Is he on the Mount rushmore coaches?
Speaker 3 (01:39:05):
I guess probably not on the Mount right.
Speaker 1 (01:39:07):
Bill Belichick is?
Speaker 2 (01:39:08):
So I guess what I don't understand is this you
you're anti Patriots, though in my mind I think you're
a closet Patriots fan and you realize you're a mush
and if you keep talking bad about them, that's good
for them.
Speaker 1 (01:39:21):
But even with that, even with.
Speaker 2 (01:39:23):
That, how in the world could Robert Kraft not answer
these questions about Bill Belichick and say, that's my coach
and he's won me. He's won me super Bowl ring
after super Bowl ring after super Bowl ring. He's going
to be the coach for the Patriots as long as
he wants to be. How a guy who has brought
you six super Bowls as a head coach, who is
(01:39:45):
an assistant coach, how could that not be Robert Craft's
answered any of these questions whenever people bring up potential
job security, don't.
Speaker 3 (01:39:53):
I think you're asking the wrong person to be honest
with you.
Speaker 1 (01:39:56):
Go ahead. Is it a Robert Kraft question?
Speaker 3 (01:39:59):
No, I don't think it's Robert Kraft question.
Speaker 1 (01:40:02):
Then who is it?
Speaker 3 (01:40:03):
It's probably his son. Do you think that Robert Kraft
is still calling all the shots? I mean, do you
think his age is still dictating it? I don't think
Jerry Jones has called all the shots, and it was
passed down the Steven Okay, I think it was passed
down to his son, and sooner or later they all
want to put in their own coach in their in
their own situation and move on from you know, what
(01:40:23):
their dad has done. So I don't think I can
blame him for that at all. But I guess my
point is there's just certain people.
Speaker 2 (01:40:32):
When you have owner coach TIFFs Arnie where the coach
goes somewhere else and the owner decides I can win
without him, right, it never ends well. It never ends
well for the owner. It ends sometimes okay for the coach.
You know it hasn't. Let's just use two shining examples, right,
Al Davis John Gruden. Gruden goes to the Bucks beats
(01:40:54):
the Raiders in the Super Bowl. Raiders haven't been the
same since that was a fallout between Al and John
g Al one of this John one of this boom.
They split. Never the same, Jerry Jones, Jimmy Johnson. Right,
have the Cowboys been successful since Jerry Jones decided he
could do it his own way and didn't need Jimmy Johnson. Sure,
Barry Switzer came in, but I mean, we're twenty eight
(01:41:16):
years from from that and they have been the same.
And by the way, Jimmy Johnson wasn't able to recapture
that magic as well.
Speaker 1 (01:41:22):
So I don't I mean, why, I guess, world, would
you allow this to happen?
Speaker 3 (01:41:27):
And also you forgot to say Andy Reid when you
got Philadelphia. They oh, wait, that's a bad one.
Speaker 1 (01:41:31):
They want to that's a bad one because bingo, I
think that's the one that worked out.
Speaker 2 (01:41:37):
But did it not work out well for Andy Reid too?
Is he not in a better place?
Speaker 3 (01:41:41):
Yes he did, but it also worked out good for
Philadelphia too?
Speaker 2 (01:41:44):
Well for now it does. They went, they won a
super Bowl, But where's the guy that they won the
Super Bowl with?
Speaker 3 (01:41:49):
Well, they still won.
Speaker 1 (01:41:51):
He's coaching the Jacksonville Jaguars. Right, but he still won
a Super Bowl. You won a Super Bowl. That's right.
Speaker 2 (01:41:56):
I'm with you, but I think that is one of
those few examples. Really look okay, that worked out pretty well.
Speaker 3 (01:42:02):
For both, right, right.
Speaker 2 (01:42:03):
Typically, when you decide to move on from a Hall
of Fame coach, you usually get bleeped, especially whenever the
guy still wants to be coaching.
Speaker 3 (01:42:11):
Even if he has do in last place in the division.
Speaker 2 (01:42:14):
Even when he arnie you went to the playoffs with
a rookie quarterback a couple of years ago. Yes, if
if you're in last place in the division, you can
take a year and handle that. You don't fire him
right away because I don't know you're having some sort
of riff with him. I mean, are you, hey, if
your Dolphins implode and are in last place, do you
(01:42:34):
want your guy fired?
Speaker 3 (01:42:36):
Ask me when they're in last place? Yeah, exactly, exactly.
Speaker 2 (01:42:42):
So my point is, if Bill Belichick doesn't get to
end it in New England, how he wants what are
we even doing?
Speaker 3 (01:42:50):
Well, you know the saying, it's not what you've done
for me, but what you've done for me lately. So
if you've brought me six Super Bowl rings.
Speaker 2 (01:43:00):
I don't care, man, I'm the happiest dude on the planet.
And guess what, Chris, I think they're gonna be pretty
good this year.
Speaker 3 (01:43:06):
Chris. People have been married, they for twenty five years.
They have a great first twenty years, the last five
are awful. They end up getting divorced. Right, It's all
based on what you've done for me lately. That's the
kind of world we live in.
Speaker 2 (01:43:19):
Do you realize every one of these conversations goes back
to marriage with you? Is there something you're trying to say?
Speaker 3 (01:43:26):
No, No, that's I'm not pretty much. I'm doctor Arnie.
I want you to know that if I didn't do
get into sports radio, I would have been the first
doctor Phil.
Speaker 2 (01:43:35):
I don't know if that would be a good choice
or not. But here we are so great. You're saying
put him on the hot seat. He should be gone.
That's what you're saying.
Speaker 3 (01:43:44):
He should be on the hot seat. And I think
he will be gone once they finished in the last
place this year.
Speaker 1 (01:43:50):
I think y'all are crazy. You will rue the day.
Speaker 3 (01:43:53):
And I know Furman loves Bill Belichick there, you know,
because he had I'm very.
Speaker 2 (01:43:58):
Angry at you. He's very angry to me. Should have
you fill in next time? That Schwartzy can't make it
on the program? So well, you can't handle that. You're
too old?
Speaker 1 (01:44:07):
All right?
Speaker 2 (01:44:07):
When we come back to Wyrock dot com Studios, let's
get you ready for a couple of camp storylines because
the few there's a few. But first, Steve the saga
for one final time tonight, get you caught up on
everything going on in the world with sports.
Speaker 1 (01:44:19):
What's up, Steve?
Speaker 8 (01:44:20):
Most NFL veterans reports you training camp on Tuesday. Raiders
quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo passed his physical so he will not
start camp on the pup list after his broken foot
last season. Denny Hamlin took the NASCAR race at Pocono today,
his seventh Cup Series victory. There his fiftieth win of
his career. And you mentioned the American golfer Brian Harmon.
He won the Open by six strokes. He absolutely dominated
(01:44:43):
all weekend. John rom tied for second place, as did
Jason Day. Rory McElroy tiede for six. Harmon is a
five foot seven lefty. He won the US Junior twenty
years ago, but had only won twice on the PGA Tour,
but he won in the rain today at Liverpool from
the University of George. Harmon moves up to number ten
in the world ranking. He had missed the cut at
the Masters this year, missed the cut at the PGA.
(01:45:06):
He earns three million dollars Today, the NBA reportedly approved
the sale of the Charlotte Hornets, although it won't be
official for at least another week. Michael Jordan will remain
as a minority owner of the Hornets, who missed the
playoffs past seven years. At the Women's World Cup, FS
one has a triple header. Pre game is just underway
coming up at the top of the hour. It's Italy
(01:45:26):
against Argentina, then right after that Germany's opener against Morocco.
Then at seven am Eastern time, Brazil versus Panama on
FS one. The Americans next game is Wednesday night against
Netherlands on Fox TV. In baseball Sunday night game at Boston,
the Red Sox beat the Mets six to one. Mets
record forty six and fifty three with that payroll, but
(01:45:48):
leftfielder Mark Cannat and I did have three outfield assists
throughout two guys at the plate losing pitcher Carlos Carrasco
with an era up near six now lasted two and
a third innings, five runs, ten hits allow in Anaheim
show Heyotani with his thirty sixth homer. He leads the
Majors seven to five. Angels over Pittsburgh. You mentioned it
the MLB trade deadlight. As August first, the Halos record
(01:46:10):
fifty one forty nine. The Angels are still in the race.
That's a realistic and I think true comment at this
point because remember, as of last year, there's one extra
playoffs BOT, one extra wildcard in each league. Angels four
games behind the Blue Jays for the final wildcard spot.
Toronto one today four to three at Seattle. Houston with
(01:46:30):
a solo homer in the top of the ninth, got
a three to two victory at Oakland. Houston's the second
place team in the AO West, three games back at
first place Texas, and Houston will host the Rangers tomorrow. Oakland, meanwhile,
with a record of twenty eight and seventy four. Attendance
was eleven tholls and Oakland will play at San Francisco
Tuesday and Wednesday.
Speaker 1 (01:46:51):
This is all you need.
Speaker 8 (01:46:52):
To know about Dodger pitching so far this year. At
Texas today, Max Munsey of La hit a grand slam
in the top of the first and by the fourth
inning the Dodgers were down eight to four. They lost
eight to four, losing pitcher for the Dodgers today, Emmett Shean.
You know Emmett Sheen. He keeps getting starts though, and
his ERA is six point seven five. The Dodgers have
(01:47:13):
twelve pitchers on the injured list, just pitchers. Monday, they'll
be back home and face Toronto tomorrow. Night's Dodgers starter
Michael Grove. His Major League ERA is six point four
to zero and this will be his tenth start that
they're giving him. It just doesn't it if they can
acquire three or four pitchers by the trade deadline, that
apparently is what is needed. The Padre speaking of payrolls
(01:47:37):
forty eight and fifty two, they only had three hits
at Detroit today, lost three to one to the Tigers.
Yankees Anthony Rizzo went four for four Yanks by Kansas
City eight to five. The loss for the Royals to
Jordan Lyles. He's one in twelve this year. The Royals
have lost five straight game their record about as bad
as the A's twenty eight and seventy three.
Speaker 1 (01:47:58):
Wow.
Speaker 8 (01:47:58):
The Yankees will be hosting the Mets Tuesday and Wednesday.
Atlanta just keeps killing. Four to the final at Milwaukee
today as Ozzie Alby's hit a three run homer in
the eighth. The Braves had the best record in the
Major sixty four and thirty four. The Brewer's not doing
too bad. They are first in the NL Central, but
just a half game over the Reds. Tomorrow Night's Cincinnati
at Milwaukee. Red's won. They're fifth in a row, seven
(01:48:21):
to three over Arizona. Washington beat San Francisco six to one,
and now the Giants have to play at Detroit one
game tomorrow to make up a rainout from April, and
then they'll go back to the Bay Area. Baltimore won again,
five to three at Tampa Bay. The Baltimore Orioles have
a record of sixty one and thirty eight. Myos, that's
the kiss of death. First in the AL East now
(01:48:43):
two games over the Rays. Ray's offense went three to
thirty ten innings. Philadelphia won at Cleveland eight to five.
Minnesota in twelve innings edge the White Sox five to four.
The Twins tied it with three runs in the bottom
of the ninth. Each team scored a run in the tenth.
Twins won it in the twelfth. Minnesota Twins first place
in the AL Central, three games out of Cleveland. Cleveland
(01:49:04):
as a record of forty nine and fifty. Miami in
ten innings edge Colorado three to two. The Rockies are
the worst team in the National League right now thirty
nine and sixty. Colorado had tied this game with a
solo homer top of the ninth, but lost in the tenth.
And this was to a Marlins team that had dropped
eight straight games until today. Miami plays at Tampa Bay Tuesday, Wednesday.
(01:49:25):
The Luis Ariahs update. He went three for four today,
had the game winning single in the tenth inning. He's
batting three seventy nine And we mentioned last hour Cubs
over the Cardinals easily seven too. Was the final into
the Hall of Fame. Scott Roland and Fred McGriff back
to you, hey, by the way, the.
Speaker 3 (01:49:40):
Way, wait real quick, talking about fake quotes, the saga
why why was the voting on the NBA sale twenty
nine to one? And Dolan was the only no vote
on that. I would love for somebody to say it's
because we got tired of losing to Michael Jordan so
we had to say no just for the hell of.
Speaker 8 (01:50:00):
Or he could say, you know, we just don't want
him out as a majority.
Speaker 1 (01:50:04):
Owner in this league.
Speaker 8 (01:50:05):
It's great for the league. Garry, Please, you know you
can come up.
Speaker 3 (01:50:08):
It'd be better if he just said, we got tired
of losing to all those years, so we didn't want
him to make any money.
Speaker 4 (01:50:14):
Now.
Speaker 8 (01:50:14):
Maybe in the back of his mind, like Snyder is,
I don't want to get voted out of this league
at all. I can vote no on everybody every time.
Speaker 1 (01:50:23):
Thanks Steve, have a great league, buddy.
Speaker 2 (01:50:25):

A couple of quick tweets. Yeah, man, this is this
a fair question? Ask Sharon Wrights, so Arnie. If Belichick
is fired, who would Craft hire to replace him? Because
I have no idea great question.
Speaker 3 (01:51:34):
I think they would go young. Maybe look in the
college ranks. I don't know, maybe Lincoln Riley or something
like that. I think that's uh. I think they would
go ahead and do that, because if you get to
replace somebody like like the you know, like Belichick, it's
got to be somebody young that you can keep around
for a long time. Possibly.
Speaker 2 (01:51:54):
Yeah, if you enjoy watching teams not play defense, I'd
hire ah. Jeff Wrights so a Plank, Chris de Sager, Brandon,
Are you guys gonna have on air interviews for a
new co host.
Speaker 1 (01:52:08):
Yes, that's a good question, Jeff.
Speaker 3 (01:52:10):
If you missed the show, Earl, there's not that's not
gonna come down to that.
Speaker 2 (01:52:14):
Well, but there are some stakes here, yeah, because Arnie
said that he would quit his job if it often
started ZH to two. Now, keep in mind they're underdogs
against the Chargers on the road in week one, and
then they play the Patriots, who I guess suck now
in week two in New England. So it would be gosh,
I'm sure we've had guys quit on the air, but
it would be the first ever in Fox Sports Radio
(01:52:37):
person quitting live on the air.
Speaker 1 (01:52:40):
It would be.
Speaker 2 (01:52:42):
I think what Billy Gunn took his shoes off in
the middle of the ring this week to retire from wrestling.
Speaker 3 (01:52:48):
I don't know what that means, but okay, I'll go.
Speaker 2 (01:52:50):
Yeah, yeah, Well, I don't think you call them your Orioles,
and I don't think you know a player on the
Orioles team.
Speaker 3 (01:52:54):
Look, cal Ripkin, but listen to me right now. I'm
telling you this. Dolphins will and like I said, Dolphins
and my Wildcats. They won't have any losses for the
month of September. This is do you have to stand
once every twelve years, So I probably have to have
my team's win. I can't have a losing team all
the time. Even the odds go ahead and go in
(01:53:15):
my favorite once in a while. And it's all came
down to this year.
Speaker 2 (01:53:19):
Look at it, listen, I don't doubt the Dolphins are
going to be good. You talking about them like their
circa Tom Brady and the Patriots finishing sixteen and oh.
Speaker 3 (01:53:28):
Good, look at your good looking if you got it
flawed it every week in the NFL season, we're just
going to be trying out people.
Speaker 1 (01:53:34):
Oh my gosh, I just I cannot wait.
Speaker 2 (01:53:37):
But so if they're zero and two and listen back
on the podcast, Arntie will have to quit live on
the air because this is the time we're holding into it.
I already have a lot of interests. I've had people
reaching out to me off the air. There's a lot
of interest because they don't have a.
Speaker 3 (01:53:49):
Play their first two games.
Speaker 1 (01:53:51):
I'm not trying to tell you they're going sixteen.
Speaker 3 (01:53:55):
And I'm just curious. I just want to know.
Speaker 2 (01:53:57):
They open with the Broncos and they play the Bills. Okay,
oh and too no, they'll lose there. I am so
happy that Jimmy Garoppolo can start camp. I think that
they can be better. But I don't know where Julian writes.
All right, so I get how big football and baseball
(01:54:17):
talk is right now. Yeah, but there is a major
boxing match that is about to happen. And it took
both Spiders about both fighters about four years to come
to turns to have this pay per view fight. Karence
Crawford versus Earl Spence Junior, July twenty ninth. If you
do not see this boxing match, then you're not a
(01:54:39):
fan of boxing.
Speaker 4 (01:54:39):
Arnie.
Speaker 1 (01:54:40):
Will you see this boxing match.
Speaker 3 (01:54:42):
Now that you go ahead and pump it up for me,
I'm gonna go ahead and see it and get it
to Do you have the odds on it or what
is it right now?
Speaker 2 (01:54:49):
I'm sorry, I am too caught up in Jake Paul
versus Nate Diaz.
Speaker 3 (01:54:55):
I want to see that too, to be honest.
Speaker 2 (01:54:57):
That's what I'm counting down to. August fifteenth. Jake Paul
versus Nate Diaz. All right, when we come back, Arnie's
picks to take us home on a very busy Sunday
night on Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 1 (01:55:10):
All right, alrighty, let's go.
Speaker 2 (01:55:13):
It's Arnie and Plank on a Fox Sports Sunday Listen.
I know it wasn't your cup of tea, but Arnie
for our Progressive play of the day.
Speaker 4 (01:55:22):
Yeah. This thirty six year old from Georgia.
Speaker 3 (01:55:25):
He's a sportsman.
Speaker 4 (01:55:26):
He loves to hunt and fish.
Speaker 3 (01:55:30):
And he's hauleding the big one.
Speaker 5 (01:55:33):
Brian Harmon is the champion golf every year he has
won the one hundred and fifty first Open at Royal Liverpool.
Speaker 2 (01:55:41):
That was the Progressive play of the day, brought to
you by a Progressive Insurance. Progressive makes bundling easy and affordable.

ATV and more all your protection in one place. Bundle

about Brian Harmon this morning.
Speaker 1 (01:55:59):
Did you?
Speaker 3 (01:56:00):
I mean well, I said I had. We never got
to Roman Numeral sixteen, so and be to the Knicks,
we never got to number eighteen the best quarterbacks in
the last five minutes twenty nineteen, and we didn't get
the Roman numeral nineteen. Deshaun Watson comments.
Speaker 1 (01:56:15):
Well, there's only so many hours in the show, Arnie.
Speaker 3 (01:56:18):
That's what Let's take Ben's Let's take Ben's first hour. Well,
I mean I want to go to bed. I'm very
to you, I'm very soft. Just take the keys to
the Ferrari.
Speaker 1 (01:56:29):
I'll just take the keys to the Ferrari and I'll
let you drive.
Speaker 2 (01:56:32):
Because it's time for the stinking genius to pick something.
Take it away, Arnie's where are your picks taking us
this week?
Speaker 4 (01:56:40):
Web?
Speaker 3 (01:56:40):
It's gonna be all over the place. Obviously there's not
a lot going on, but I will give you a
little music which I put me in the mood. See,
this is the type of producers I have. By the way,
case you didn't know this, I said it earlier. My
dolphins will go twelve and five, maybe even thirteen and four,
so they're not going to start off oh and two.
Don't worry about it. I know a lot of people
all could sir on Twitter and I'm gonna have to
(01:57:01):
quit my job. That's not going to happen, so don't
worry about it. I am gonna take the Browns minus
one and a half in the Hall of Fame, game
and the under thirty three and a half. But that's
not to lay a week from Thursday. But I just
want you to get on and now for those good numbers.
By the way, the women's USA game against Netherlands to
two tie, they'll go to the penalty kicks where the
(01:57:23):
United States will win. So we'll go ahead, and that's
gonna be good to see. It's gonna be in the
group stage. There are no penalty kicks. There's no penalty
there's no penalty kicks until the knockout rod. It's got
to be a two two tie? Then, how been if
I change you to a three to two win for USA?
Speaker 1 (01:57:42):
There you go?
Speaker 6 (01:57:43):
Cool?
Speaker 3 (01:57:43):
Yeah, I look at you trying to make me look
like an idiot. How about that?
Speaker 1 (01:57:47):
Would you rather Hi not say anything? Or would you
rather I would? I would rather say it doesn't matter.
Now you said the fight was what this weekend on Saturday?
Spence and Crawford's that you were saying? That's right, it's
the slight favorite. Excuse me, Crawford, the slight favorite. It
might's won sixty three.
Speaker 3 (01:58:06):
I've taken Spence of that one and Jake Paul and
Nate Diaz. How is it till Paul the big favorite
in that one. I don't understand. Oh, they think that
it's a it's a payoff. They think that he's paid
off Nate Diaz, that's all. Oh, I want to take
Nate Diaz plus the two sixty five. Those are some
serious odds for a guy that I think should pubble them.
(01:58:26):
So there you have my pigs do with them to
please no longer strictly for the tainment purposes only, all.
Speaker 2 (01:58:31):
Right, couple of really good tweets before we get out
of here and put a wrap on this program.
Speaker 1 (01:58:36):
God please no.
Speaker 2 (01:58:38):
As always, the show never stops on Twitter at stinking
genius wanted plank show. Oh you know Brendan had a
good tweet earlier about Raider expectations.
Speaker 1 (01:58:46):
Yeah, but he followed up with this.
Speaker 2 (01:58:48):
If someone were to suggest to me that my Raiders
are now in full rebuild mode, I would have laughed
at him up until five minutes ago. Now there will
be calls to tank for Calebleilliams. That'd be cheating the game,
and a guilty team's round one draft pick moves to
thirty two.
Speaker 3 (01:59:06):
You've been saying that for two years now.
Speaker 2 (01:59:09):
Seem like if you're gonna win that division. If you're
gonna win the AFC, you got to be Patrick Mahomes.
I like Jimmy Garoppolo. I think he's a good quarterback.
I don't know if that team can beat Mahomes. You
gotta get better on defense. And I don't know if
Tyree Wilson.
Speaker 1 (01:59:22):
It's the COT.
Speaker 2 (01:59:22):
He's on the physically unable to perform list to start
the posts of the preseason, it's not good. Ronald the
Res Rightes, New England would have to bring in somebody
that has some pelts on the wall. I don't think
they could start out with an unproven college coach.
Speaker 3 (01:59:38):
Good point. I can see that. Not so sure that's
the way, but I can see him certainly thinking that way.
I would probably go with a young college coach that's
looked good so far.
Speaker 2 (01:59:48):
Yeah, college coaches have just crushed it whenever they jump
up to the oh. Recently, Avan Jason writes, wait, Beatlejuice sequel,
Let's go. My favorite movie is a kid, Harney. You
have a great week, buddy, Let's stick around. Big Ben
Mallor is an ex on Fox Sports Radio.
