is fitted captain, that's a prep in DC. It's time
to bring the city back. Sixty three long and lanky

Speaker 3 (01:19):
He offer at another Georgia boy employed to recon destroy
the MLB bro scene. So high lads, your boy average
creeping up Homer's double digits. The nets are in the
cut with the tunnel vision. And as the team grows,
so will Abrams game. This ain't that team flow. Aprams
already in the game, and you see the progression as
(01:42):
he's rising from fame. He's learning to win walk offs,
homers and missiles. This ain't the next and Abrams, YOI
don't double dripple. He hits the doubles and triples. The
affected ripple number five is initial c J April he's

the MLB gro Show podcast with the mixtape. You can
also catch me each and every Monday on mbbro dot
com with my weekly column Diamond Cuts.
Speaker 8 (03:08):
You wouldn't expect me to be talking about Barry Bonds
here on Classic Hits.
Speaker 4 (03:11):
The man is arguably the greatest player who ever lived.
Speaker 8 (03:14):
His resume speaks for itself the twenty two seasons of
unparalleled excellence with fourteen All Star Game appearances, seven MVP Awards,
eight Gold Gloves, two batting titles, and a list of
records longer than the Golden gate Bridge.
Speaker 4 (03:27):
There was a time when historic.
Speaker 8 (03:28):
Baseball feats were called Rufie because someone was reaching levels
that only the great Babe Roof had before.
Speaker 4 (03:34):
Now some of roops marks have been beaten, but in
the modern era, folks are chasing Barry and not the Babe.
This week's episode of the mixtape.
Speaker 9 (03:42):
Drops on my birthday, So indulge me while I look
back at one of the marks that Bond set on
my big day. On Aux eleventh, two thousand and one,
Bonds did something he had never done before. At the
age of thirty six, Barry hit his fiftieth home run
of the season, topping his career best of forty nine
from the previous year. The homer came in his one
hund undred and seventeenth game, breaking Sammy Sosi's record.
Speaker 4 (04:02):
And becoming the fastest player ever to reach that milestone.
Speaker 10 (04:06):
During that two thousand and one season, Bombs will go
on to set the Major league single season home run
record with seventy three home runs while batting three twenty
eight and leaving the National League and on base percentage
slugging OPS and drawing an incredible one hundred and seventy
seven walks while breezing to his fourth MVP award. Over
a five year stretch from two thousand and two thousand
and four, Barry averaged three thirty nine with a five
(04:29):
point thirty five OVP and an OPS of one point
three one six. He walked eight hundred and seventy two times,
scored six hundred and fifteen runs, drove in five hundred
and forty four, and hit.
Speaker 4 (04:42):
Two hundred and fifty eight home runs.
Speaker 8 (04:45):
His average season during that time included fifty two homers,
one hundred nine RBI, eighty two extra base hits, and
one hundred and seventy four walks. No one in baseball
history has ever seen fewer hittable pitches than Barry Lamar Bonds,
and no one has done more with the ones he
did see. It remains one of the great injustices in
(05:06):
all of sports that Bonds hasn't received.
Speaker 4 (05:09):
His rifle enshrinement in Cooperstown.
Speaker 8 (05:11):
For a young man who grew up in the shadow
his father Bobby and his godfather Really Mays, Barry Bonds
continues to cast his shadow over the entire game of baseball.
While the game may ask us to forget him, ignoring
his excellence and his feats, Barry Bonds will look forever
in the record books, whether the Hall of Fame acknowledges
him or not.
Speaker 4 (05:28):
I'm David Grubb and this has been classic. Kids. Now
back to the mix.
Speaker 1 (05:40):
Indeed with og Mark Ray.
Speaker 11 (05:44):
Could Jose Ramirez Ko punch have tko Tim Anderson's baseball career.
It's your boy mlbog Mark Gray and I'm giving it
to you for the mix tape. This not, according to
the Elias Sportsbureau, for the second time in almost thirty
years to the day, the Chicago White Sox were punk
(06:07):
last Saturday when one of their infielders who plays on
the left side, gets punk by an older player. Tim
Anderson got dropped by Jose Ramirez in one of the
pretty sponsors.
Speaker 4 (06:22):
Ever and in Florida.
Speaker 11 (06:24):
This was after a hard tag where Ramirez took umbrage
and perhaps this was a situation that had dated back
to many times before. But when so many players are
now having an issue with Anderson, you gotta wonder if
the issue is Anderson himself and he keeps bringing it
(06:45):
on himself. Look, he was a black player that Major
League Baseball seemed to want to put out there. Remember
last year he was in a Dary Queen commercial.
Speaker 4 (06:56):
It gets no mainstream American to that.
Speaker 11 (06:59):
Then he goes out he has a kid out of
web block outside his marriage, and now this it's a
freaking bed. Look, you can't blame anybody for Hayton. When
you make a mistake and you get clowns, you swear
it like you thirled and you took the beat down. Dude,
you have nobody to blame but yourself on this one.
(07:21):
And oh yeah, by the way, you can't have enough
means that portray Anderson as Robin Ventura when he took
his beat down from Nolan Ryan. It's your boy, Mark
Gray and I'm going deep on the mist.
Speaker 6 (07:40):
It's the black Age Report, the black Age Repole, It's
the black Age Report, the Black Age Report.
Speaker 12 (07:51):
What's up, everybody? This is justin Petrilly with the Black
Age Report on the MLB Bro Show podcast mixtape. Here's
where you get the legas on the melanated malm. We
shoveling with precision and popping out all across the big leagues.
So let's check the report. Ty continues to fly high.
Speaker 4 (08:08):
Ty one.
Speaker 12 (08:08):
Walker picked up win number twelve on July thirty first
against the divisional opponent in the Miami Marlins, going six
and two thirds innings, giving up six hits and two
runs as the Phillies one four to two. Walker now
has a three point nine to nine ERA, as his
twelfth win is tie for the lead in all of
Major League Baseball. He'll look to earn his thirteenth win
on Sunday, August sixth, when the Rows head into town.
(08:29):
After being mentioned in many trade rumors, Marcus Stroman ended
up staying with the Cubs as the trade deadline came
and went. He ended up pitching for the Cubs on
July twenty six and thirty first, and they were not
great outings to say the least. He pitched a combined
six and the third innings and now has a three
point eighty five ERA. To make matters worse, it was
announced on August second that he would be heading to
(08:50):
the Al with a right hit inflammation and that he
wouldn't be able to come back until August sixteenth at
the earliest. While Stroman Manhattan have been traded, another big
name broke out at the end of the trade deadline,
and that was black Jack Flerty. Flarity got traded from
a last place team in the Cardinals to a first
place team in the Orioles. Clarity had been good but
not great for the red Bergs in twenty twenty three
(09:11):
with a four point four to three e r A
and is a free agent at the end of the year.
He looks to improve his season with the O's and
help them make a run come playoff time. That's the
black Age support for this week. This is JP the
brook now back to the mix.
Speaker 3 (09:40):
The Bros Is back the back Sophisticated sun stats, a
hat and Sack, Aaron Judges, Wood Whack in movies, back

Speaker 3 (10:01):
You know we're gonna brun your boy for since your
mother's out here playing like Barry Bond seeing him, Ms
Coleman was off to the racist like a golden ruod
shree Bud. They try to blows with the bros and
now they d o Wayne in the streets of San
Joe pay They call me will he made not for
the way we blow that Hayes well for the way
we work that cave never called got a boss. So
(10:22):
let them play my fourth pitch, pars play no way
on left seas. My coutor is rising me and don't

Speaker 4 (11:23):
Or wings opious.
Speaker 13 (11:26):
As baseball is a game of stats, I'm Sebastianball and
I'm the numbers Mann. Jack Flaierty was known as one
of the premier starters in the league before his jury
problems began, with him unable to start more than fifteen
games in every season since twenty twenty. Lardy has been
looking to get some sort of momentum after two sixty
(11:47):
day file trips in twenty twenty two, and a fresh
start on his new team in Baltimore could be exactly
what he needs to get back to a lead for
Lardy recently made his first start with the Orioles since
getting traded to the Carden, and he displayed the dominant
form that we were all familiar with in his first
start against the Blue Jays. On August third, Lardy struck
out eight batters over six innings, posting a one point
(12:10):
six to zero fielding independent pitching. He allowed just two
walks in one earned run. His fastball velocity showed a
big jump along with his elite display of strikeouts. He
averaged just under ninety three miles power on his fastball
in twenty twenty three before the trade, and he averaged
ninety four point one mouse power and it started against Toronto.
Speaker 4 (12:31):
This philosophy is much more in line.
Speaker 13 (12:33):
With his consistent twenty nineteen shown to where he averaged
ninety four point three miles per hout his fastball, allowing
only five hard hit balls in his start. Clarity looks
to get back on track as one of the top
pitchers in the league, and he can be a vital
piece for the Orioles push for postseason success in twenty
twenty three.
Speaker 6 (12:55):
It's the Black Ashapole, the Black Ageapole. Good, It's the
Black Age Report, the Black Age Report.
Speaker 4 (13:07):
What's up, everybody?
Speaker 12 (13:08):
This is justin Pertrilli with the Black Age Report on
the MLB bro Show podcast mixtape. Here's where you get
the latest on the melody to mal marauders or shoveling
with precision and popping out all across the big leagues.
So Leicester, Thorport, Taiwan Walker take a bow. Fly Ty
Walker won his thirteenth game on August sixth against the Royals,
where he went seven innings, giving up seven hits four
(13:29):
runs as his ERA is now at three point nine
to eight. With this beat Walker's first year in Philly,
he has already established himself as their best starting pitcher
this season as he's helped keep the Phillies playoff hopes
alive as they're currently in the first NL Walker slot.
Devin Airbender Williams has been on fire as of late
as he hasn't given up an earned run since July fifth.
He has a one point four to five ERA as
(13:50):
he earned the NL Reliever of the Month award for
the month of July. He has twenty seven says, which
is third in the NL and has helped put the
Brews in first place in the NL Central black Jack
Flerty made his first start for his new team on
August third, as he gave Oriers fans a lot to
be excited for. He pitched six innings, allowed four hits,
one run eight strikeouts and picked up the win. He's
(14:11):
scheduled to make his second start for the O's on
August ninth, when the Astros head into town. Hunter Green
has been making strides in his rehab for his hip injury,
as he pitched with the Reds Triple A affiliate in
Louisville on August bit. He's supposed to have two more
starts in Triple A and then is expected to be
taking off the sixty day injured list and make his
return to Cincinnati on August twentieth. The Reds are two
(14:32):
games out of first, so getting Green back into rotation
will be a huge Joel that's the black a support
for this week. This is Jap of the rook Now
back to the mix.
Speaker 4 (14:44):
The bros, the groove.
Speaker 3 (14:45):
This is how we move. This is the whole move.
This is not old school, new generation for a new
baseball dude. Justin Crawford eating food, James Wood on the moon.
You ain't gotta love me and gotta talk to me
like's been humble me, honey, Like the bumble beef, nothing
troubles me. What do the struggles beef? The lines down
third basispod, the rugged beef, the Lin Drive, King mova
(15:09):
On demolishing the brosa back from All Stars with the
following hollering getting no basis, there's no coloring, no discrimination,
christended to Donald Tree. It ain't where your start, it's
where you're finished, especially when you round in the bases
in thirty seconds. My favorite player ain't even Nebroski, acting
like you know heat, then whip him for the three
(15:31):
the All Stars with deep in seattle like hers and cattle.
The names ring out like the kings of baseball battles
Tony Clark and cc Dee Will and Mookie Joe Garrion.
Of course the kid King Griffy Edward Jackson wrapped around
the action, Dave Winfield and Gary pettis greener than the
lettuce RAJ Davis, Harrild Reynolds and bowl Porter Fajor Martinez
(15:53):
from across the Border say in any order, my batty's stances, defiance,
black excellence, that the player's alliance, no pimping, no win
to room, make a decision, close deals on the hill.
Like Lonnie Simpson, the Future Stars game was crazy with
young brothers. When the melon then hit him, you know
why the slums lovers, This ain't the suits talking this.
(16:14):
The shooter embarking a hot shot, get picked like Barry Larkin.
When we sing Bible Him's we sing like Dave Simms.
When the found poles move, we flow like the wind.
We don't discriminate. That's word to Manny Machado and Randy
and Rose Arena, who plays like there's no tomorrow.
Speaker 13 (16:31):
But we do.
Speaker 3 (16:31):
The bros the baseball keep the pros and the know
about the golden flow. Anyway, back to the All Star
back in the saddle Seattle with the Legends of Breast
with a statue Alvin David to Phil Bradley, the bros
had me, we only do it one way. This saint
gun play well. The pitchers shoot, but the batters still
swing away. The bros are about the same today. Aaron
(16:52):
Hicks is whipping grits. The Yankees craps is d away.
This is how we be O day, take it to
the Kleets, O day, third base, to the beats of day,
hustling my four team mont poor g like Georgie Hendrix.
Speaker 4 (17:03):
Or for stuff breadth though was bostuff.
Speaker 3 (17:06):
Back to the bro flow, will Benson soul blow, Willie
Calhoun getting them knocks in the Bronx show. Yo yo
yo yo, Stop bro just stop, just stop stop on
that one killing him. Stop KRP Man Dan Gambling, Oh
just stop.
Speaker 14 (17:27):
Wrapping up the busy time leading to the MLB trade deadline,
Let's check out some notable transaction that's impacted many teams
looking to get an edge in the final third of
the season. The Yankees have acquired right hand the pitcher
Keena Middleton from the White Sox. He's the perfect fit
of a guy if you look in the bush ball pen.
Former third round pick, Middleton's a very solid player. Has
a two and two record of three ninety six ERA
on the season. Another trade, Miami Marlins received first basement
(17:50):
Josh Bell from the Cleveland Guardians. The Marlins will buyer
this year at the deadline. Bell has eleven home runs
at forty eight r beyond the season, but a little
more than fifty games left. It'll be a boost to
the Marlinds team be a one game out of the
NL wild card spot.
Speaker 4 (18:04):
More depth of.
Speaker 14 (18:04):
Only add value. Another key addition is Jack Clerty to
the Baltimore Oreos. He's played very well in his last
seven starts, posting a four and two record Baltimore Stoning
with the second best record in the league, number one
the Al Division, a great situation that may have put
that team over the hump to be a serious.
Speaker 4 (18:21):
Contender down the line.
Speaker 14 (18:22):
Twenty nineteen player was ranked six in strikeouts in the
National League. Lastly, you have left fielder Tommy fam traded
from the Mets to the Diamondbacks.
Speaker 4 (18:30):
Fam is a very good athlete, tracks.
Speaker 14 (18:32):
The ball very well, covers a lot of ground, makes
every play offensively as a two to sixty eight bat
average with thirty six are beyond the season. I can't
wait see all the Bros in action, the new uniforms.
Most importantly, I hope your family's enjoying the journey as
well as mlbbro dot com is covering everything black or
brown and baseball as we'll be serving it up all
season long right here on MLB Bros Podcast, I'm Devon

What the lunch by judge.
Speaker 18 (21:33):
This is Rachel Hill and I'm taking you from first
to third with outfielder Will Benson of the Cincinnati Rads.
Will Benson has been a pleasant addition to the Cincinnati Reds,
who are point five games behind NL Central Division leaders
the Milwaukee Brewers. He came over to the team from
the Cleveland Guardians, who drafted him into their farm system,
and twenty twenty three has been a breakout year for Will.
He has become a key piece of the Cincinnati Rads
(21:56):
and his story demonstrates his grit, motivation, and most importantly faith.
Vincent was signed to play at Duke for baseball, but
the pros called. With his focus on helping the Rights
to a World Series, Benson makes it a priority to
make an impact both on and off the field.
Speaker 4 (22:10):
Known for his work in the community, Will is.
Speaker 18 (22:12):
From Atlanta, so it's only natural that he would once
to improve the community from which he is from.
Speaker 4 (22:17):
Benson started the Future Is.
Speaker 18 (22:18):
There, which is dedicated to empowering you to achieve their
dreams and make a difference. When he's not helping the
Rats to try to take the division, he's working on
his charity and it is an organization whose goal is
to help youth achieve career goals.
Speaker 4 (22:31):
Through fundraising, inspiration, and navigation.
Speaker 18 (22:34):
The FIM Mentorship Program is a lifelong partnership equipping the
Atlanta Public School System with resources and a support system
to prepare them for the next lovel As he developed
on the field, his parents also made sure he knew
that the person he was away from it was even
more important. Benson says that they also made sure that
faith was a priority in his life from the beginning.
(22:54):
Throughout his career, Benson continues to inspire both on and
off the field as he looks to do all he
can to make a difference in the lives of ours
for God to see you.
Speaker 3 (23:07):
Make sure you check out Malik Right and Dante Miles
with the High End Outside podcast.
Speaker 4 (23:13):
On MLB bro dot com.
Speaker 3 (23:15):
This week, The Guy speak to former MLB Bro Michael
Borne about his participation and be Hank Aaron Invitational and
some of the young studs that are coming down the pipeline.
Speaker 5 (23:27):
We have some great kids at the council, great talent
at the campus.
Speaker 4 (23:30):
With you got any any maybe one or two they
sit out to here.
Speaker 19 (23:33):
JaMarcus think his name is JaMarcus Smith. He was from Alabama,
really a kid that nobody really knew about, hadn't been
on the pg's curcule really reached from eighty nine to
ninety one. He's gonna be a freshman in high school.
Can also hit the you know picture might be be
what he does. They had a few few kids that
I thought, actually well that we had a short stop
(23:55):
there from la that.
Speaker 11 (23:57):
I really liked.
Speaker 19 (23:57):
I got to get his name for you if I can.
It was a lot lot of kids that we got
to see over the time, and many just they just
were all very talented and very We got a bright future.
Speaker 4 (24:09):
I can really really.
Speaker 5 (24:09):
Tell you that.
Speaker 19 (24:10):
In Jerry Manuel shout out to the godfather of and
Eric Davis. Those guys Kyle Waller and Reggie Waller, they
run the thing.
Speaker 11 (24:17):
Pretty much, and.
Speaker 19 (24:20):
Dale Matthews. They all put on a good show. We
really run it like a real company. It's really it's
really broken down into reality and show these kids that
how Major League baseball, how monor League baseball is done.
Speaker 18 (24:36):
This is Rechel Hill and this is my two cents
on San Diego Padres outfielder Trent Grisham. Trent Grisham has
been swinging a hot bat lately, but it's what he's
done charity wise, is where it's at. Recently, Grisham and
teammate Padres reliever Josh Hater, in conjunction with the Padres Foundation,
brought back the Padres Baseball event after a six year hiatus.
The fundraising event was recently held and attendees have opportunities
(24:59):
to both by side with Hater, Gresham and other Padres players,
along with coaches and Padres alumni. Trent doesn't stop his
volunteerism with the Padres. He also volunteers with Perfect Game Cares.
Our goal is to help children understand there is a path,
no matter how difficult it may seem, to provide that
path to something they may know nothing about. We want
to work with other organizations and people that truly care
(25:21):
about many at risk children. PG cares is about helping
and inspiring children, girls and boys to realize there is
hope for a bright future. Those results will be our
greatest achievement, helping America's underserve children rise to find their
individual greatness. Perfect Cares Foundation became Rise to Greatness, and
in twenty twenty one, Rise the Greatness launched a program
dedicated to providing opportunities for baseball and softball players from
(25:45):
the many underserved and at risk communities across America. This
fund is a partnership of Rise to Greatness, current and
former MLB players and corporate partners from across America. If
you know of a player and need a financial assistance
to attend a showcase or to offset the expensive travel
baseball softball, please invite them to fill out an application
at Rise to Greatness dot org.
Speaker 16 (26:11):
All Star shortstop Tim Anderson's knockdown in his fight with
Jose Ramirez was embarrassing, but it won't be defining. People
need to stop that this is going to be the
only thing that we remember about this guy's Major League
baseball career, because it ain't true, it ain't real, it
(26:34):
ain't right. Tim Anderson is a two time All Star.
He led the Major League to get hitting this dude,
I get it. He's been hurt lately and hasn't played
well and had an off year, but that doesn't mean
that he will not bounce back and not be great again.
(26:56):
This guy has one of the most signature moments in baseball.
Speaker 4 (26:59):
Are you kidding?
Speaker 16 (27:00):
