the way tire buying should be. We have a lot
of headlines this week. Week zero is here, the start
of the NFL season, which we all love, and football

(01:51):
is back. So many story headlines I don't even know
what to begin. We can start in the AFC, NFC,
NFC North, AFC North for a few of these divisions
will be up for grabs, and I'm saying to myself,
everybody's starting zero and zero, and everybody is chasing the

(02:14):
Super Bowl, trying to reach the pinnacle of the sport.
And this is the reason why we do it. We
love it, and a lot of these galla chased that championship. Obviously,
with Ann Rodgers joining the New York Jets, everybody is
talking about everybody all pretty much has the New York

(02:34):
Jets stripped it in to win the AFC East to
knock out the Buffalo Bills over the past few years
because they have been running in the division ever since.
Josh Allen and Sean McDermott arrive with the exit of
Tom Brady obviously going down to Tampa Bay. But it's

(02:54):
not that easy. You know, everybody's just talking about you know.

Speaker 5 (02:58):
Aaron Rodgers in the addition to him going to the
New York Jets, obviously Randall Cobb coming over, Alan Lazard
and you know some of the Garrett Wilson who will
be at one of his dynamic playmakers on offense. Defensively,
Quinn Williams signing one of the biggest deals in NFL
history for a defensive alignment and also with you know

(03:21):
soft garden of people, you know saying that he may
be the best cover corner in football. So you know,
everybody's talking about Super Bowl for the New York Jets.
But it's not that easy to just go out there
and talk about it. It's time to put it on paper,
trying to put it on the field and see what
is going to happen with the New York Jets. And obviously,

(03:44):
you know the rest of his NFL season, and I'm
looking forward to the New York Jets and the New
York Giants playing tonight in New Jersey in Giant Stadium
is what I call it. Because obviously I did play
for the New York Jets for one season, but I'm
a New York Giant fan, so let's just say that.
So everybody is anticipating this preseason game the night between

(04:06):
Aaron Rodgers, the New York Jets and New York Giants
because it will be the first time that the New
York Jets put all their starters on the field this
preseason against the New York Giants. And I probably will
watch this whole entire game because I'm a football fan,
I'm a football man, and I want to see this
offense of the New York Jets with Ann Rodgers, if

(04:30):
this offensive line can protect Aaron Rodgers so he can
be the Aaron Rodgers that we have been a customed seeing.
Dwayne Rowdis, Brack MacKaye Beckton gets moved to the right
tackle spot, and this is the first time that this
unit will have the opportunity to play together.

Speaker 1 (04:50):
So there are a lot of great.

Speaker 5 (04:51):
Storylines heading into this into this preseason game with the
New York Jets and New York Giants. But I'm a
cited as well as everybody else should be. And you know,
we can talk about the AFC, NFC and the New
York Jets and New York Giants will be playing this
in the regular season.

Speaker 1 (05:12):
So that's this. This is why this is a great warm.

Speaker 5 (05:16):
Up to what we are going to see in Week
ten and Week eleven win the New York Jets and
New York Giants meet in the regular season, and obviously
the darlings of the AFC has been the Kansas City
Chiefs for one reason. They have a goat at quarterback
and everybody knows that Patrick Mahomes, I which I am
picking the Kansas City Chiefs to go back to back

(05:40):
since the first time in football for a very long time.
So it hasn't been the only twenty years since Tom Brady.
I think, I think, I believe he did it in
two thousand and two and two thousand and three. But
I believe that this is the season where Patrick Mahomes
goes back to back and wins another world championship in

(06:01):
Kansas City. And I low, we have you what is
trending today?

Speaker 6 (06:06):
Well, you're absolutely right. It was Super Bowl thirty eight
and Super Bowl thirty nine when the Patriots went back
to back. But think about it this way, just to
illustrate plaques this sort of depth they have in the AFC,
is that of the following four teams the Chiefs, the Bills,

(06:27):
the Jets, and the Bengals. At least two of those
teams will not make the AFC Championship game. That's how
stacked it is. And you know, we're not even talking
about teams like, for example, the Jacksonville Jaguars, the Los
Angeles Chargers, the Baltimore Ravens, who not a lot of
people are talking about nationally. So it just illustrates the crazy,

(06:51):
insane depth that is added to the AFC and in fact,
the AFC East alone. I mean, could you make the
argument that that is the best division in football. I mean,
going into last season, it was the AFC Western. I'd
have to see the AFC East right now.

Speaker 3 (07:08):
Oh, yes, definitely the AFC East. And the NFC East
has been down for the past few years because of
you know, actually, I don't even know why.

Speaker 5 (07:17):
The reason why the NFC hasn't been as competitive as
the AFC because the elite. It seems to me that
all the elite quarterbacks are playing in one division, which
is the AFC. Joe Burrow justin Herbert, and we all
know Patrick Mahomes. So it's like you were saying, some
of these good teams and all of these and boast

(07:40):
conferences won't be able to make the division. But the
most intriguing division to me, I think it has to
be the AFC East this year because one of these
two teams I believe won't make the playoffs if they
don't win the division between the between the Buffalo Bills
and the New.

Speaker 6 (07:59):
York because they'll cannibalize each other basically.

Speaker 5 (08:03):
Basically as exactly what's going to happen. So it's going
to be so competitive in AFC. If you don't win
the division, there's no way, there's not a guarantee that
you may get into the playoffs in AFC.

Speaker 6 (08:16):
All right, here's one of the reasons I enjoy conversing
with you jocks, and I use that term in this
situation affectionately. So, yes, Bill, last night, we're getting ready
for the preseason finale for the forty nine ers against
the Chargers, when the news breaks that they've traded Trey
Lance to the Cowboys for a fourth round pick. And

(08:36):
in the aftermath and in the lead up, you know,
on Wednesday, at the time he was officially named as
the number three quarterback people across sports media, or as
I affectionately will unaffectually term them. These sports media goofs
are referring to Trey Lance as a bust, and I'm like, well,
wait a minute, he's an incomplete in my opinion, he's

(08:57):
not a bust. Now. I know that I'm right all
the time, but you actually played, So what do you think?

Speaker 5 (09:02):
Uh, you know what for this young man. I think
it's just been a lucky to draw. I really do. Obviously,
with the with the injury to Jimmy Garoppolo going down
and then him getting hurt and had to having a
knee injury on hamstring, and you insert Brock Purty. Obviously,
this guy is mister relevant. He's the last pick in

(09:23):
the draft.

Speaker 3 (09:24):
Nobody is expecting this man to pretty to start or
win a football game.

Speaker 5 (09:31):
Last season, and what happens. He gets inserted into the lineup.
He goes seven and old to end the season, reaches
the NFC Championship game against the Philadelphia Eagles, gets hurt,
and now he is being named the startup. If you
look at Trey Lance, he really hasn't had the opportunity
to play football because of injury. So I can't call
him a bus because we haven't seen a young man play.

(09:54):
And just the other day we were having a conversation,
will Trey Lance start for an other football team? And
I said yes, And I believe that this young man
needed a fresh start based off everything everybody's been, you know,
kind of you know, killing this man in the media.
And I'm just saying to myself, how mentally strong is

(10:15):
he to put you know, all of these things to
the side. What everybody's saying about him. He's one of
the worst draft picks in NFL history. He's a bus
How can you say that just because the man hasn't
played a football game, or he hasn't started a whole
entire season, he has not had the opportunity to be
healthy and given the reins to an offense to show

(10:38):
us that he is an NFL quarterback.

Speaker 6 (10:40):
I mean, here's what it is so intriguing about it
to me, And it just illustrates the difference between perception,
which is the world that we're currently in right now,
and the reality, which is the world that you were
in when you play. Not to say that you're not
in reality now because you're talking to me, but I'm

(11:00):
just so intrigued by the dynamic of the forty nine
ers front office. So they're getting blamed because not only
did they draft him when guys like Jamar Chase, Patzertan,
DeVante Smith, Rashaun Slater, and Micah Parsons were still on
the board, but they also traded away three first round

(11:20):
draft picks this year and the last two years. Yet
aside from that, this is the same management team that
has been to three of the last four NFC Championship
games and has hit home run after home run at
any other positions. So I'm curious the reality as you
view it. Even the best front offices with the best

(11:44):
track records otherwise, they can still have some really high
profile misses because it illustrates just what an inexact science
this whole thing is, even for the guys who get
the big bucks to do it.

Speaker 5 (11:57):
I mean, history has showed us that, you know, teams
do miss with picks. And I always say, just because
of a young man at any position has a great
college career. Every college players game and intelligence and performance
does not automatically translate to the NFL. And it's it's

(12:22):
one of the it's one of the few things that
I've seen because you know, I've been I was fortunate
enough to play this game for twelve years and you
know who the who who those guys are after the
first or second day of practice that they won't be
able to make this roster because or make this team
because the the the mental part of the game is

(12:46):
so the IQ level is so high. The athletic ability
of those players, uh is unable to show because they
can't you know, uh, you know diagnose the mental part
of playing NFL.

Speaker 6 (13:01):
Wait a minute, is this just for quarterbacks or positions
across the board? Do you tell that quickly?

Speaker 5 (13:06):
Yeah, this is just this is just positions across the board.
Because if you look at how the college game is
played today, these college offenses get to the line of scrimmage,
they see the coverage, they look to the sideline, and
the coach then gives a quarterback another play to run
while the play clock is still rolling. And I believe

(13:27):
that is one of the instances that hinders college quarterbacks
taking that next step to the pro game.

Speaker 6 (13:36):
They're not taught to think for themselves. They in a sentence,
need mommy and Daddy to help them with their homework
in real time.

Speaker 1 (13:42):
Right.

Speaker 5 (13:43):
It doesn't allow them to get under center, diagnose the
defense and call a audible because guess what, they've never
done it before. They are on the football field looking
to the sideline, and the coach is actually putting them
in a better play or a better position to have
a success. That's for play that the defense that the quarterback,

(14:03):
the defense at the quarterback is standing in front of them.

Speaker 6 (14:05):
That's when they're holding up those cards with the right
pictures on them of Lady Gaga, the fed chairman of
soda Can and waffle House exactly.

Speaker 1 (14:15):
And this is one of the main reasons.

Speaker 5 (14:18):
If you when you look at a Lamar Jackson and
you look at Brock Purdy, these guys are coming out
of college and they're coming to the pro game, and
what's look at what's happening. Some of these teams are
now hiring their offensive coordinator because they want to continue
to play that to that player strength and not put

(14:38):
him in a new, brand new offense that he has
to learn in his rookie season.

Speaker 6 (14:43):
Okay, so is the reason is the underlying reason basically
for that, because if I'm your typical D one college
football coach, look, I'm only going to have two or
three years to prove that I can survive at this school,
I don't have time to develop the skills from my

(15:03):
quarterback to think on their own. I have to literally
coach them super closely and have them look over to
the sideline, or else I might be out of a
job because the booster is only going to give me
two to three years.

Speaker 3 (15:15):
I mean, let's face it, right, I know, and what
we have been saying over the past few years is
like somebody somebody's call, somebody's pro offenses are now running
these same offenses that they draft these quarterbacks.

Speaker 5 (15:29):
From, So there is no learning curve. Now they can
come in and basically, you know, get back to what
they've been doing for the past two or three years.

Speaker 6 (15:39):
I don't know. I mean, what if that particular quarterback
goes down with an injury and with all these sophisticated
defenses in the NFL, I mean, I'm not sure that's
a long term strategy.

Speaker 1 (15:48):
Is that I know?

Speaker 5 (15:49):
And this is what I'm saying to myself yesterday when
I heard that Trey Lance was getting traded to Dalla Scoutboys.
Is there a chance that Trey Lance and may started
gain this year if Dak Prescott happens to go down.

Speaker 6 (16:00):
Well, I'll tell you what. I know, you got to
take a time out here, but there might literally I
might literally not be exaggerating, but there might literally be
television executives right now praying that if.

Speaker 1 (16:13):
That happens, my goodness.

Speaker 6 (16:14):
When would it happen week five? Because what's the matchup
week five? The Cowboys and the forty nine ers on set?

Speaker 3 (16:21):
Oh how pretty would that be? And we will come
back in a few minutes talking some more football. Me
I Low and everybody. Thank you for listening up on

heard you have some breaking news for us or what
is going on?

Speaker 2 (18:08):
Breaking news from Fox Sports.

Speaker 6 (18:10):
Las Vegas Raiders running back Josh Jacobs has agreed to
a new contract, ending his holdout. NFL media reports it's
a one year, twelve million dollars deal. In fact, just
seconds ago, Jacobs tweeted simply, I'm back back to you.

Speaker 1 (18:27):
I like it. I like it.

Speaker 3 (18:29):
Welcome back Josh Jacobs to the Las Vegas Raiders, and
I hear I got my boy on the other line.
The panteam man TJ. Bush Manza has made it to
the show today. My brother were happy to have you.

Speaker 1 (18:44):
What's going on?

Speaker 3 (18:45):
Man, have some technical difficulties over here, but I'm good now.
Josh Jacob that was It's not surprising that he's back
with the Raiders. You knew that was his only option
the way the offseason had been going. But they gave
him twelve million, a little bit more than what Sa
Kuan got got from the Giants.

Speaker 5 (19:08):
This is what I do not understand with this whole
franchise tag.

Speaker 1 (19:12):
So this thing, this is new to me, that.

Speaker 3 (19:16):
A team can sign a player to a one year
deal being named not the franchise tag, and he can
still be a member of your football team. I don't
believe that Mark Davison, the Las Vegas Raiders knew of
this before it happened to Sa Kwan Barkley, Because if
I'm a team said, listen, this guy does not want

(19:38):
to sign a franchise tag. Okay, well let's give him
some more money and incentives and as signing bonus and
a workout bonus to help the player get to the
number that they feel comfortable playing with without having a
franchise tag.

Speaker 1 (20:00):
And this could have been done a long time ago.

Speaker 3 (20:02):
It's only two more extra media, it's only two more
million dollars more than the franchise tag. And I'm pretty
sure he has escalators in this one year deal or
roster bonus in marsh or whatever the case may be,
that all of these things could have been been avoided
from Saquon Barkley, Jonathan Taylor's who's not happy with this

(20:24):
deal but he's not up for a new deal.

Speaker 1 (20:27):
And Josh Jacob So, I don't understand why.

Speaker 5 (20:29):
These why these organizations are putting the strain on themselves
with the franchise tag when they can just offer.

Speaker 3 (20:38):
A player a one year deal. You know what, it's
almost this role. I think all the teams knew about
the role to where you can give them a new
one year deal. You just couldn't give them a multi year,
longtime deal. They just didn't want to use it. They
didn't want to use this technicality because it was like

(21:00):
sign a franchise deal or just sit out of camp.
To me, I guess the odd part for me is,
if you're the Raiders, why wouldn't you do this earlier
just to get him in camp. Just just do it
sooner because he does have no We'll give him some time.
He'll have some time to get ready for the regular season.

(21:20):
But we all know this, I don't care what type
of work you are doing, you are not gonna be
ready to play football until you start playing football. You
can do all the training you can do, all the
running you can do, all you are not gonna be
ready until these games run around and you just you
gotta go through training camp. You got to have some tough,
hard practices, and so that part of it. I'm glad

(21:43):
he's in camp. I mean, he was the best back
in the league last year by a long shot. So
the fact that he's gonna get the money that he
feels he deserves it. I mean, they gave him just
on about one point nine so they gave him one
point nine million extra than than what the for me,
the franchise was about ten point one million. And so

(22:06):
just what you said, just about two million dollars that
he was given more this I'm interested to see moving forward,
if this continues to take place with guys all, let
me see if I can get a little more now
on a franchise.

Speaker 1 (22:20):
This is what uh yeah, Sa Kwan and Johns Jacobs did.

Speaker 3 (22:24):
But it will be uh good, just good for the
Raiders because like I said, he was the offense last year.

Speaker 1 (22:31):
It was him and Davante and nobody else.

Speaker 5 (22:36):
And especially I believe that running backs moving forward are
going to take this stance. And if in the franchise
tag world, being that the position has been you know,
undervalued for the past few years when it comes to
getting long term deals for guys you know, playing the position.

(22:57):
But I believe this is a trend that we will
continue to happening, not just at the running back position,
but more there than anywhere because because of the price tag.
But you know, it's a great I think it's a
good option for God to exercise if they can make
it happen.

Speaker 3 (23:15):
You know, it's to me for the running backs to change.
And when when I say change, it is you have
to be more of a running back receiver slot guy.
To me, those are the those are the running backs
that are going to add value to themselves. So now
when it comes to contract negotiations. Now you gotta change.

(23:39):
You can't just be Uh. You know in our day
it was I'm just running back. You come out on
third down and the third down back comes in. There's
none of that. You have to have so much variety
to your game. You got to be able to run route.
You gotta be. You got to be like a Marshall
faulk That's what the running back is going to have

(24:02):
to be. You're going to have to be like a
Marshall Falken. If we look in today's football, you got
to be like Christian McCaffrey. You have to be able
to do everything, run the ball, pick up, pass protection,
and actually get out there and play like a receiver.
If you can do that, now, they can't deny you.
They can't deny you. If they do that, then the

(24:23):
league is really passing up on good backs because you
are not finding the back in the fifth or sixth
round that can do all those things that I just named.

Speaker 1 (24:33):
Right.

Speaker 5 (24:34):
Wow, I know, man, what's going on crazy with the
running back position. But let's keep talking about the running
back position.

Speaker 1 (24:42):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (24:42):
The new the any rapis Colts and Jim Mersey and
Jonathan Taylor. We have heard that the Miami Dolphins have
you know, asked for you know, Jonathan Taylor. We've heard
that a few other teams have content acted in the
Indianapolis Coats and the request for trade for Jonathan Taylor.

(25:06):
Why does the organization and Jim Ersay wait so long
as uh to yesterday to give Jonathan Taylor a little
permission to seek a trade when he asked for a
trade a month ago, all week before the season. To
me is as if once Ersay comes out and says

(25:29):
what he says, it's over. Like you got to understand,
these players are human man, and we're emotional and you
we have feelings. You can't come out and talk about
me in a negative way and think I'm okay with
coming back to the team and there's gonna be no
hard feelings. Now we professionals, and I'm sure Jonathan Jonathan

(25:51):
Taylor is a professional and he'll do it. But you
know how hard that would have been. And to answer
your question, why they wait so long, You know why
they waited so long. It's because they don't care if
Jonathan Taylor. They don't want Jonathan Taylor to get to
his new team and have an opportunity to get in shape,

(26:13):
practice for them and gratiate himself with the system and
that culture and be a really good player for him.
All they want is something that can benefit them, and
that's draft picks that doesn't benefit them this season, that
benefits them the following season. So the longer the coach wait,
does it really matter when they trade Jonathan Taylor because
that draft pick is not gonna benefit the team this year.

(26:36):
They're not asking for players, they want draft picks, And
so for me, this may affect Jonathan Taylor, this does
not affect the Coats at all.

Speaker 1 (26:46):
Man.

Speaker 5 (26:46):
I just believe if you're a team that's right down
the customer, if you don't have a Runney running back,
and you are able to give the ending up as
coachs exactly what they need. They want a first round
pick for Jonathan Taylor. He is your answer. And I
just don't understand why the coach waited this wait, waited

(27:08):
this long for it to happen. But it gives me
a sense that Jim Orsay and the organization knew that
Jonathan Taylor was going to take this stance and not
play a football game for them. I believe that he
knew that, and this is why the reason that they
waited so long to give him permission to seek a

(27:31):
trade and that shit, They're like, wait a minute, this
guy's not going to play, so now we have to
put ourselves in a situation to better, you know, our
football team.

Speaker 8 (27:43):
And I.

Speaker 3 (27:45):
Thought the other day that he was walking around with
his shirt at practice and the shirt on the front
of the shirt and said kick the stigma.

Speaker 1 (27:53):
I don't know what it.

Speaker 3 (27:54):
Means, but it kind of didn't go so many different ways.
It kind of shot at the owner, right. It kind
of insinuated to me. They listen, I'm gonna take a stand.
I'm going to be the one to change the whole
dynamic for this running back franchise tag and being being
getting paid and being undervalued.

Speaker 5 (28:17):
I'm going to be that guy. And I'm not afraid
to sit out. And I think that is what the
Indianapolis coach knew that John Taylor was not going to
be in the backfield this season.

Speaker 1 (28:29):
And you look at the Miami Dolphins.

Speaker 3 (28:30):
If they get Jonathan Taylor, Oh my craziness.

Speaker 1 (28:35):
And hey, I'm crazy. I'm crazy for what I'm about
to say.

Speaker 3 (28:41):
Man, they gonna be unbelievable and Madden today, will hey, hey,
you put Jonathan Taylor on the Miami Dolphins on this
new Madden game.

Speaker 1 (28:53):
And then we ain't talking really real life.

Speaker 3 (28:54):
It's just gonna be speed speed playmakers everywhere. Unbelievable. We
gotta go to Ilo and trendon Ilo. Good to hear
your voice man a second ago.

Speaker 6 (29:05):
Hear it again, indeed, and that's our top story. Las
Vegas Raiders running back Josh Jacobs a short time ago,
agreeing to a new contract, ending his holdout atfl media
reporting it's a one year, twelve million dollar deal. A
short time ago, Jacobs himself tweeted simply, I'm back today.
FIFA soccer's governing body provisionally suspended Spain Football Federation president

(29:30):
Luis Rubialez for ninety days after he non consensually kissed
Spain player at Jenny Hermoso on the mouth moments after
Spain's victory in the recent World Cup final. In Temyusay's
opening game of the FOBA World Cup of Basketball today,
they fell behind New Zealand early fourteen to four, but

(29:52):
recovered for a ninety nine to seventy two victory and
finally in major League Baseball On Friday night, two fans
were wounded by gunfire at Guaranteed Rate Field that's the
home of the Chicago White Sox during their game against Oakland.
One fan was wounded in the leg and his in
fair condition. The others sustained a gray's wound in the

(30:14):
abdomen and declined medical treatment. The White Sox said it
was unclear whether the shots were fired from inside or
outside the ballpark. The Associated Press obtained wide angle video
that showed fans in a section of the left field
bleachers reacting to the apparent incident while play was going on,

(30:35):
just as three small children were walking up in the
state it was during the game. The video shows the
Oakland A's left fielder in the picture. It was in
the left field bleachers about a third to halfway up.
It was just along the aisle, and all of a sudden,
you see a couple of fans just reacting to something

(30:58):
that goes on right in front of them. And then
you know, more fans noticed the commotion and they start
trying to gesture for the security to security guards for assistance.
So it's unknown where these bullets came from. The multiple
fans were struck.

Speaker 3 (31:15):
And how are they getting firearms in any type of
stadium when you're going through security?

Speaker 6 (31:22):
Well, as you guys well know, well, first of all,
it could have been a stray bullet fired from outside
the stadium.

Speaker 1 (31:28):
Which is most especially the stadium.

Speaker 6 (31:31):
Well exactly because it was a densely packed area. But
as you guys well known, as our listeners who attend
sporting events know, the quality and level of security entering stadiums,
it varies greatly from stadium to stadium and even gate
to gate, as you well know.

Speaker 3 (31:51):
Wow, the fact that he tried to bring a gun
in knowing if he gets caught, he going to jail.

Speaker 1 (31:56):
What you're going to the game for? If you on
that type of stuff?

Speaker 3 (31:59):
Mint, why are you and going to a game, a
professional game to watch and you feel like you have
to bring a weapon with you?

Speaker 1 (32:06):
What are you? Man?

Speaker 3 (32:08):
I hope the people that were injured they say, man,
we got to do better. Man, this is getting out
of hand. When I say we we as people, it
makes no sense at all. I'm sorry, y'allo.

Speaker 6 (32:20):
I don't know. That's all I got for you.

Speaker 3 (32:22):
Okay, Hey, And another thing, the the Spain president, it
was Spain, you said, correct, correct, Yeah, isn't that technically
like sexual assault when you kiss somebody and like what
are you Like he's been suspended, bro should be fired,
he should be fired. What is I know in the

(32:43):
United States of America, he would be prosecuted, he'd be
arrested and for sure fight. They have you know, different
you know, you know, kind of showing affection in different countries.
I've read. I've read about this. It wasn't just her,
It wasn't just her, like he groped other players. He
kissed her. I've read about this. Yeah, like kissed her

(33:07):
on the lips. He was He put his hands in
places he shouldn't have put them on other players on
the team, like he should be fired, suspended, And their
best players have said if he's the president, we will
not be involved with the soccer team until he's removed.
So if you want to continue to win, you better

(33:29):
make some moves like you can't do stuff like this.
They probably will being at a ninety days, but you know, man,
they do different things in other countries to show affection
and kissing on the lips, and.

Speaker 1 (33:43):
If you kiss me, better be wanted.

Speaker 3 (33:47):
It better be like you can't just kiss somebody on
the lips and they had and they're offended by that.

Speaker 1 (33:52):
Like what it's different man out there.

Speaker 3 (33:56):
Yeah, well they gotta they need to get some things
in order, and like I don't understand that. But when
we come back, we will get to some college football.
The Bronco season was looking up, looking to be better.

(34:17):
Now you start losing your best receivers. Is that going
to continue to happen? We don't know, but we will
talk about it up on Game Plexico Burras, Some'm TJ.
Huschman Zada will be right back Fox Sports Radio. Welcome
back in up on Game Fox Sports Radio Plexico Burras,
I'm TJ. Huschman Zada and Durham break. We're just talking

(34:38):
a little demise of the Pac twelve once again, you know,
off air, but we are going to get into a
team and a player that is still playing in that
conference and who is the presumed number one pick and
who Kirk Herbstreet said, he's most college football's most exciting
player and many believe he has a great, great chance

(35:01):
to repeat as a Heism Trophy winner. We haven't seen
many players at all repeat it. Who has it been?
It's Archie Griffin. Plex you know, off the top of
your head, what Heisman Trophy guys that have won it
back to back seasons, two time Heisman Trophy winners Archie Griffin.

Speaker 1 (35:21):
Is he the only one? I believe? I believe, so
I believe.

Speaker 3 (35:27):
Yeah, everybody thought Bryce, Bryce Young had a chance to
do it.

Speaker 1 (35:30):
That didn't happen.

Speaker 3 (35:31):
So if Caleb Williams can put together another season like
he did last year, he has a chance to go
back to back. But do that's hard to do. But
he is so talented, It's like who else is gonna
win it? I mean, he's the odds on favorite. And

(35:52):
then I truly believe just from the work that I
saw him put in this summer. Jade Daniels at LSU.
Anytime he has some free he was out here in
California training, I'm like, bro, are you in school? He
was training that much. I was seeing him out here
working that much, to the point, I'm like you graduated,
You're like, you're still in school?

Speaker 1 (36:11):
What you're doing?

Speaker 3 (36:12):
He was really dedicated to getting better, and no, Lie,
it was noticeable improvement, noticeable and I'm not a quarterback guru,
but it was noticeable.

Speaker 1 (36:20):
So I would put.

Speaker 3 (36:23):
Jane Daniels in that you put Drake may in at
that will be a player or two that kind of
comes out of nowhere. But are you do you believe
with the way he's going to play talking Caleb Williams,
that it's odds on he would repeat as a Heisman
Trophy winner.

Speaker 5 (36:43):
I believe so just looking at the field of college
football and where it's at, you know, from a quarterback position,
I believe that he's the best quarterback in college football,
best player. I'm gonna go on a limb and not
just say that he's the best quarterback. But whatever, what
about what about Marvin Harrison Jr?

Speaker 1 (37:02):
What you think?

Speaker 5 (37:04):
I think he'll be probably the number two, number three
pier player picked in the draft, just you know, the
eye test just tells me, you know, you can find
a good wide receiver. But Marvern Heston is probably going
to be a great ride receiver moving on from Ohio
State into the next level. I mean, everybody know what

(37:24):
his dad was able to do while he was spending
in Annapolis. I mean, first ballot. But you know, I
think when we talk about Heisman Trophy and being the
m v P of your team, I think he's the
best player in college football. You know what he was
able to do last year, you know, it was just,

(37:45):
you know, one of those things that we haven't seen
in a very long time. And obviously, teacher, you know
him better than I do, and I just get the
opportunity to watch him play, you know, on television, don't
I don't know. I never met the young man, but
I'm just looking at him moving forward and going into
this season. If he's going to be even better than

(38:07):
what he did last year. I mean, the odds are
telling you that this man will be probably be, you know,
the first person since Arshie Griffin went back to back
Hodsman Trophy.

Speaker 1 (38:20):
Yeah, it's gonna be interesting. I think two dark horses.

Speaker 3 (38:24):
We all presume Michigan's gonna be very good this year,
so you have to throw JJ McCarthy in there as
a quarterback. The real dark horse to me, and how
many people know that who this guy is is Michael
Pennick Jr. From Washington. Was that Indiana transferred to U
dub and let it up. He has two really good

(38:45):
receivers and in Donsay and McMillan, he can be the
dark horse. Washington has a chance to do something you know,
it's a lot of this is based off team success.
So if you have team success, a lot of times
your quarterback will get So those two guys with McCarthy
be interested. You know, with Harball serving that three game suspension,

(39:07):
how they come out and play? How does a team play?
Are they gonna be motivated without having their head coach.
There's so many things that go into that, but that
will be interesting. But if I'm a batman, I must
say Kayler Williams is gonna win it again. I just
don't unless he has an injury, and we don't want
that to happen. I don't see this guy not playing,

(39:30):
not how we played last year better than what he
did last year. Scary those Yeah, And yet, dude, I'm
telling you right now, Zach branch Is, the height is
gonna be the college football Tyreek Hill. He not tall,
he built, he fast like he he was like a
high school Tyreek Hill to me, ten two hundred meters
five to ten probably on hundred ninety pounds. Ten two

(39:52):
hundred meters, what great quick like. He's a receiver that
just so happens to be able to run track. And
so I think Caleb Williams will be in a rare
company once the season nerve with and he will have
another Heisman trophy to his name. We are finished and

(40:13):
done with the first hour up on game Fox Sports Radio.
That's Plexico Burus. I'm TJ. Houchmanzada. We'll be back for
the second I We appreciate you all tuning in.
