Speaker 1 (00:01):
You're listening to Fox Sports.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
Let's go steak a genius gone, Why let's go.

Speaker 1 (00:11):
Yeah, congratulations to your Yes, I want to start. You
gotta feel pretty good about your super Bowl pick right now.

Speaker 2 (00:17):
Oh, I'm gonna have our lazy producer take a memo
and send it to the boss, and I'll be taking
super Bowl off so I can go see the Dolphins
play and I go party for a couple of weeks
down in South Beat.

Speaker 1 (00:31):
So did you did you do a show yesterday? I
don't think so you did you? Did you do a
show earlier today? No?

Speaker 2 (00:38):
I did not.

Speaker 1 (00:38):
Okay, why would you call our producer lazy?

Speaker 3 (00:41):
Who did?

Speaker 1 (00:41):
Like? Three? Wow? Wow, Brandon, don't stand for that man.
That's garbage. That's garbage.

Speaker 2 (00:48):
Take a memo. Take him out. By the way, yesterday
was my twenty eighth wedding anniversary, So I just want.

Speaker 1 (00:54):
To So you want to call your producer lazy and
then beat yourself yourself on the back forget for someone
being able to stand you for? What'd you say? Twenty three,
twenty eight twenty If anybody, I feel pretty bad, I
didn't do anything yesterday.

Speaker 2 (01:09):
But she's like, are we gonna go out to dinner
at least, I'm like, not with the Arizona Mississippi staate
came on last night. No, where we're not going any place?
I go, Where would you want to go? She goes, well,
I wanted to try out to think they're.

Speaker 1 (01:21):
Lying right now? Oh, I swear, I think you get
Beth on the microphone right.

Speaker 4 (01:25):
No.

Speaker 1 (01:25):
I think if she said we're going to dinner, you
would say, yes, ma'am, we're going to dinner.

Speaker 3 (01:30):
Right away away.

Speaker 2 (01:32):
Do you know who I am?

Speaker 3 (01:33):
I said, I absolutely know who you are.

Speaker 2 (01:35):
I said, I have Arizona, Mississippi stakeme. I go, where
did you want to go? She? Because I want to
try out the new steak place. I go go to
the market, buy us two steaks. It'll be just as good.
And that's what we did. We just we had some
steaks and I had stuff to do. I thought, you
think I'm going to pass up on Arizona Mississippi state.
What are you nuts?

Speaker 1 (01:53):
Yeah? Because what do you have to do? I mean,
what's the big How can you sell her on that
when we're not even going to talk about it tonight?

Speaker 2 (02:00):
Well? I went to Arizona. We both want to arizonas
you knew I had to watch the game.

Speaker 1 (02:04):
And it's your twenty eighth wedding anniversary and you're gonna
watch him play? What? Howd you? How did you refer
to that team that beat you a junior college college?
So you lost a junior college.

Speaker 2 (02:12):
And they stole the game from us. But let's be honest,
I mean the twenty eighth what's what's twenty eight any
different than twenty seven? When we get to thirty, then
I'll celebrated a little bit more, or when we get
to fifty. But what twenty eight? What's the big deal
is twenty.

Speaker 5 (02:27):
Eight is one more than twenty seven?

Speaker 4 (02:28):
Are?

Speaker 1 (02:29):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (02:29):
What is it anniversary or something like that?

Speaker 1 (02:32):
Someone put up with you for twenty eight years. I
think you and Beth you outkicked your coverage. You should
be celebrating every single second of that.

Speaker 2 (02:41):
Well, I got told her I didn't have time yesterday.

Speaker 1 (02:43):
I've got to watch Arizona Mississippi State. You're so full
of crap in the DVR era just just I thin
when you watch.

Speaker 2 (02:51):
It, like, I'm not gonna do that. But I told her,
I go after the game, let's go out and party.
We'll go to some parties. But my wife falls asleep
at like nine o'clock. You fall asleep at like nine o'clock.
Did you make it to the whole game last night?

Speaker 1 (03:05):
Yes? I did it. I was pumped in.

Speaker 2 (03:07):
I was all in, especially the part where they stole
the game from us at the very end. It killed me.

Speaker 1 (03:11):
Well, we're broadcasting live from the tire rack dot Com
studios tire rack dot com. We'll help you get there
on unmatched a selection, fast, free shipping, free road hazard protection,
and over ten thousand recommended installers ti rac dot com.
The Way tire Buying should be a complete recap of
week one. Now, I want to make this very clear,
give this disclaimer. This is knee jerk Central. I'm just

(03:31):
warning you right now because if you take everything that
Arnie or I say tonight as the gospel and the
end all be all, you're going to go insane and
turn your car into oncoming traffic. And we don't want
that to happen. Understand, it's a knee jerk reaction. Show
to the first piece of evidence, real hard evidence that
we have for the twenty twenty three NFL season, and Arnie,

(03:53):
let's start with the most recent little piece of information
we're getting forty to zero. Yes, it is now pouring
on Giant fans. Wow, I mean I didn't see that.
I think the Cowboys are good, think they're really good.
I shure didn't see this coming. What in the world
has gone wrong outside of everything for the Giants to well,
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (04:13):
If you mean, are we gonna do knee jerk reaction
just based on this game? But if we're gonna do that,
I'll tell you two things.

Speaker 3 (04:18):
Well, start with the game that's going on.

Speaker 2 (04:20):
Okay, yeah, well, yes, I do feel good about the
Cowboys being my Super Bowl pick man. Do they look good?
They look great. Defensively, they scare me right now more
than just about any you know, obviously the show's tonight,
but they scare me more than any other team in
the NFL with the way they're looking. And based on
knee jerk reaction, congratulations, kle Williams, you're going to the Giants.

(04:43):
So there you go.

Speaker 1 (04:46):
I don't know. The Cardinals almost messed around and ruly
a lot of people's uh what do they call them?
Not gout pool, not cout pool or yeah, I mean
that was that was an increase. That was a scary
couple of minutes there if you have them in one
of those leagues, but.

Speaker 2 (05:01):
The team what like an hour or something like that.

Speaker 1 (05:05):
It's like two hours. Give Joshua Dobbs a little bit
more credit. But I guess to bring this back to
right here, right now. I mean, it's just everything that
could go wrong for the Giants, and it has gone wrong.
They can't block, they can't cover, they can't they can't
do anything. I mean, this is a team that made
the playoffs last year, won a playoff game. I don't

(05:26):
want to say they came into the season with a
ton of hype, but they did invest in Daniel Jones,
they came to an agreement with Sakwan Barkley. He kind
of thought, all right, no, maybe Brian Dabole has some
things figured out. Dallas, on the other hand, Arnie Hey,
Mike McCarthy's taken over play calling. Dak Prescott had to
basically knocked basically be knocked out.

Speaker 3 (05:45):
In order to have a tattoo on his leg.

Speaker 1 (05:49):
And then they come out and they put forty on
the board with still what almost like seven minutes to
go in the game, and they did it. You hit
this on the head. There's no massive offensive numbers here.

Speaker 2 (06:01):
No, it was the blackfield goal, the interception that went off. Uh,
I can't remember how they picked that off Saint Quon Barkley.
So there was another six points there. They were just
scoring in every which ways possible. That that defense putting
so much pressure on Daniel Jones. You know, we always
talk about you know what I always say it coordinators

(06:22):
don't mean anything to me, or I always love having
a great offense. Give me a great wide receiver. If
I was ever going to take like one thing. Yeah,
everybody wants a great quarterback. But if ever wanted a
great thing, that's a great pass rush, you know what
I mean what the Cowboys have or what they did tonight.
Give me a great pass rush every time, just just
almost about before everything else out there. It's so important.

(06:44):
You know.

Speaker 3 (06:44):
That was the seventh sack that Cowboys. Just Daniel Jones.

Speaker 2 (06:48):
And what about the rushes. We don't even talk about
the rushes or anything like that.

Speaker 1 (06:52):
The rushes, what do you mean by you mean the
pressures and yeah, stuff like Yeah, I mean, I'm sure
someone will nerd out one of the PF guys will
have that number four US in a little bit. But
I mean they have literally he hasn't been comfortable all
night long. And I don't think Giant fans can look
at this and say, oh, this is Daniel Jones only
go out of the ball too long or not having
a feel.

Speaker 3 (07:13):
I mean, he hasn't had a second. He hasn't had
a second.

Speaker 1 (07:15):
This is an absolute derelict of duty, an absolute abysmal performance.

Speaker 2 (07:21):
You could you could maybe say that well, once they
got done down early and it was what sixteen nothing
or twenty three nothing before you could blink at the
end of the first.

Speaker 3 (07:31):
Sixteen hit at the end of the first yeah you can't.

Speaker 2 (07:33):
Yeah. I was gonna say, maybe they pulled back the
rains a little bit, but not in the first game.
After the first period, there was no pulling back to raids.
They're just not really very good. I expected a lot more. Again,
I expected a lot more. And being in the division
that they are with you know obviously Philadelphia, Dallas, Washington,
it's there's no gimme games in that division. There could
be a long year for them, and just they're on

(07:54):
a conference schedule or out of the division schedule, not
that tough.

Speaker 1 (07:57):
Well, we'll wait till the seger it gets the up
at the bottom of the hour to revisit this because
I mean, it's just ugly. The weather has now kicked up,
so everything that could go wrong in a game feels
like it's going wrong for the New York Giants right now.

Speaker 3 (08:12):
And Dallas is rolling forty to zip.

Speaker 2 (08:15):
Now again, Look, I'm sorry, Chrisy. There was a big
fumble by the Giants. I thought Dallas was going to
get it and try to get forty seven or nothing
out of them. Unbelievable.

Speaker 1 (08:25):
Hey, they're going to There's no doubt in my mind
that this game's probably gonna end up being like fifty
forur to zero because even when the Giants have things
going well, they make a mistake. I mean, are you
the worst team in the NFL?

Speaker 2 (08:40):
Are you sack.

Speaker 1 (08:42):
Okay? Every year, Well, we don't have forty to zero
in Week one, but we'll have a team that puts
up a stinker like no one remembers that the Chicago
Bears beat the San Francisco forty nine ers in Week
one last year, and the Bears ended up with the
first pick in the NFL Draft, And the Niners might
have gone to the Super Bowl if they're starting quarterback

(09:03):
didn't get hurt. So I'm gonna put that disclaimer on
a lot of things. We say to nine other games.
But of all the bad teams that I saw today, Arnie, yeah,
this one's the worst and.

Speaker 2 (09:14):
Absolutely not even close. I think maybe the only other
team you could put there perhaps the Bears Arizona. The Cardinals,
I give them credit for they were actually leading the game,
so I give them a little bit of credit there.
But there's You're right, there was some bad team stay
but by far, the Giants take the cake on this one.
And I, like I said, I'm not so sure it's

(09:35):
gonna get any better during the course of the year.
Maybe I've overestimated this team, you know.

Speaker 1 (09:41):
I feel like I have. I'm gonna give them a
bit of a pass because it got south so quickly.
And Arnie, they are going to Arizona next week, so
there you go. The battle for Williams.

Speaker 2 (09:56):
I was just saying that, Yeah, can you imagine it
may come down to that. People will be looking back
the second week of the season. We didn't know this
at the time, but yeah, actually we did. We didn't
know this at the time, the Battle of Caleb Williams.
I'm curious how that goes.

Speaker 1 (10:09):
UCLA Dodger Frank gets in first tonight after Week one.
I know this, The New York Football Giants couldn't even
beat the Arizona Wildcats.

Speaker 2 (10:16):
No, he's probably right about that. I would probably take
my Arizona wild Guds and to pick them over the
New York Football Giants. Again, they're just I wonder what
the Giant fans are thinking. I can only imagine when
they start calling the New York talk shows about that.

Speaker 1 (10:29):
And then Roger the Engineer, who actually, I gotta give
Roger the Engineer some credit. He brought up a diehard
Chiefs fan always checks in consistently win or lose. He
brought up, Hey, I know that. I know that this
might sound odd from someone who's as overconfident as a
Chiefs fan as I am, But being without Chris Jones
concerns me. And I think that played out as we

(10:50):
saw on Thursday night. Of course, I think Thursday Naron
Arnie was more about Kadarius Tony being awful than any
think that for the Chiefs.

Speaker 2 (10:58):
But you should be able to overcome something like do
people were talking about the three drops or whatever. I mean,
teams overcome three or four turnovers. Forget about the three drops.
That's only a drop in the bucket. That's not that
bad of a thing.

Speaker 1 (11:11):
You know, did you watch that?

Speaker 2 (11:14):
But I mean, like a you know, I quit tipped
right into the defender's hand for a touchdown.

Speaker 3 (11:21):
That's kind of a difference maker in the game.

Speaker 2 (11:23):
But you know, I saw my Arizona wildcasts four interceptions,
three in the first quarter and take the game in
the overtime.

Speaker 1 (11:30):
You know, they're playing a junior college. That's what you
said all week class week, and you lost too. But
Roger the engineer says, look out, the Raiders are in
sole possession of first place in the AFC West.

Speaker 3 (11:42):
You have better print the t shirts.

Speaker 1 (11:43):
Oh I have printed off the standings and they are
hanging right behind me. Again.

Speaker 3 (11:50):
No, no, I don't have hope. I don't have hope.

Speaker 1 (11:52):
I'm just excited to watch a game without overhyped expectations.
It was I enjoyed. No, don't say that, nope, whatsoever.
Here's what I did take away from You know, you
want to start this now. I mean, I know we're
kind of up against it. But our time honored tradition,
every single Sunday night during the NFL season is after
week blank. I know this well after week one. I

(12:14):
know this gonna be a long season in Denver, Arnie.

Speaker 2 (12:17):
Oh yeah, Russell Wilson's career is oh v e are
It's done? So he is? He no longer has a
big time career. Well, he's like a middle of the quarterback.

Speaker 6 (12:30):
Though.

Speaker 1 (12:30):
I didn't think he looked that bad.

Speaker 2 (12:33):
No, he's never gonna go. It'll be like that all
year long average. They'll maybe best fight for eight wins
out there. It's it's not gonna be a big turnaround
like everybody thought it was gonna be.

Speaker 1 (12:43):
I mean, I of all the things that looked bad
for the Broncos, I don't I don't think he looked
that bad. I just poy there. I don't get it.
I mean, the Raiders were not very good today, right
Uh didn't run the ball very well yep, but yet
found themselves in position.

Speaker 3 (13:01):
Should have win the game.

Speaker 1 (13:02):
And you kind of look back on it and you
wonder what just happened here? And I think what I
took away I don't think did for is very good.
And the Raiders are in first place right now, so
I'm over the moon happy. I don't know how great
they are. But just win, baby, right, you win in advance.
You could sit here and crawl a night long because
the Dolphins put up what five hundred yards for two

(13:23):
five six hundred yards receiving tyreek. But if they didn't
win the game tonight, you don't care about that. Just
w Just win, and that's the most important thing. So
throughout the night we'll be sprinkling it in and we
want your tweets and your exes, whatever it is, all
night long at Stinking Genius one. I'm at Plank Show.

Speaker 1 (15:10):
It's rolling on Twitter. Keep him coming. I'm at Plak show. Yes,
yes we are. We're getting a lot tonight. Hey it's
a final. I was wrong. It didn't end up being
five hundred to nothing, just forty to zip close. What's
at the largest margin of victory in a season open?
I actually murray phrase that. It's the second shutout, second

(15:33):
biggest shutout for a team on the road since nineteen
ninety nine and open. Yeah, and that was the Steelers
in the Browns. But let's gross tonight. Do we have
any encouraging words at all for Giants fans here or not?

Speaker 2 (15:47):
Where's Eli Manning when you need him? I guess he's
not covered through that.

Speaker 3 (15:51):
I thought you hated Eli Manning too.

Speaker 2 (15:53):
You loved Euli when he was good, not when he sucked.

Speaker 1 (15:56):
You know, well, choose win all right?

Speaker 3 (15:59):
After week one? How do you know this?

Speaker 2 (16:01):
I know this one feeling good about my Super Bowl
picks Dolphins and the Cowboys. Matter of fact, other than
San Francisco, Philadelphia didn't scare me after week one, that's
for damn sure. I got a lot of things to
say about that. But they were downright pedestrian, and you know,

(16:23):
Kansas City obviously with what they've missed, so I can't
rage on them too hard. But they're not even in
the same ballpark too. It looks unbelievable talk about MVP.
He's the front runner right now for MVP. After those
numbers he put up him and Tyreek Hill. What a combination.
I'm trying to tell you, Blank, I'm taking receipts just

(16:44):
like Dion. I'm taking receipts.

Speaker 1 (16:46):
You didn't listen every year for like twelve years.

Speaker 2 (16:48):
But I'm finally right now though, right right, finally, You're
You're right one weekend after week one.

Speaker 1 (16:55):
I know this on the other side of that boy,
the Chargers man, and you talk about having everything set
up to where you just have to make one defensive
stop with a defensive minded coach, and you give up
four hundred and what was it eighty six passing yards
and you allow one guy for sixty six ex kids

(17:16):
for it, right, you allow one receiver to go for
two point fifteen against you, kudos, deserve it, right. I
don't know how you I don't know how you stopped it.
But again, I wasn't the defensive genius and brilliant defensive
mind that Brandon Staley was. I can't wait to get
Seger's take on this coming up later. But if I'm
a Chargers fan, I mean, how could you way used

(17:39):
to performance like that from Eckler running the football and
listen Justin Herbert by no means put up numbers like.

Speaker 2 (17:44):
Just I was waiting for you to get to him,
because he deserves a lot of the blame. Chris I
already didn't have any interceptions. But what two hundred and
thirty yards against that dolphin? D that very very average.
He has to put up bigger numbers than that. In
three sacks, skills scored thirty four. So what there was
some sacks at the end of the game, but you

(18:05):
should have put up bigger numbers.

Speaker 1 (18:06):
They were running the ball. Wait, wait, hold on, hold on,
hold on. So what there were some sacks at the
end of the game. You mean the drive where they
were driving to try to win the football game? So what?

Speaker 2 (18:17):
Yes, yeah, my gosh, but you have to But let
me tell you something. They were running the ball like nuts,
I mean, really like crazy on.

Speaker 1 (18:24):
Miami twenty three carries two and twenty eight yards as
a team. Oh forty carries two hundred and thirty four
yards as a team. That was the receptions, three touchdowns.
And you can't come away with a win when you
run the football like.

Speaker 2 (18:38):
That, Oh you shure. If a matter of fact, if
you run the ball like that, you probably come away
with a win like ninety percent of the time. They
made a hard look at this. They lost by two.
But did you see the play right before halftime? I
don't know if you were watching the game, Yes, what
that never gets I don't know, it never gets called.
But but it was obvious.

Speaker 1 (18:57):
It was.

Speaker 2 (18:58):
I mean it was obvious if they would have called
it against the Dolbs. What have you been yelled at
the guy? What the hell you think you're doing? If
people don't know what we're talking about? The defensive guy,
it was. It was a hell mary. Right before the half,
Dolphins were throwing it up and for some reason, the
Charger guy went and pushed the Dolphins receiver square in
the back before the ball even got there. So there
was a penalty, They got an untimed down, Dolphins got

(19:19):
a field goal that's three points that was free, and
they won by two. So I don't know you do
the math on that.

Speaker 1 (19:25):
I just I still I'm watching the highlights right now,
and I just I can't believe how wide open the
Chargers let him get. I'm literally he was the only
guy that was murdering them the whole game.

Speaker 2 (19:39):
I had some good catches there too, you know.

Speaker 3 (19:41):
Did Waddle have eleven catches for two hundred yards?

Speaker 2 (19:44):
No, no, we didn't, right.

Speaker 1 (19:45):
Eleven catches for two hundred and fifteen yards, aren't he?
I think that's the guy that you can look back
and say, probably should have stopped him. Wattle. You could
try to build up ad some good catches. He didn't
have two touchdowns and average what D per reception? I mean,
that was insane that they let Tyreek kill get away
with it all right after week one? After week one,

(20:08):
Well you're sitting here patting yourselves on the back about
your Super Bowl.

Speaker 2 (20:11):
Pick with feeling good, better than ever, now, better than ever,
better than ever.

Speaker 1 (20:15):
I I'm really concerned for a Super Bowl contender and
Sincy now perspective. Yeah, Cincinnati lost its opener last year,
and I think started the season what one and two
lost two of their first three games, but they just
didn't look right and we got that game. I didn't
get the Sunday ticket this year. I'm doing red zone
and I'll just be at the mercy of whatever my

(20:37):
local affiliate gets. Right. So we got the Browns and
the Bengals. So I watched that whole game, Arnie. I
know weather was terrible, but still Joe Burrow fourteen of
thirty one eighty two yards eighty two yards. In these
instances you have to run the football twenty carries seventy
five yards. This isn't a big stat show, but I'm

(20:59):
telling you right now number should be concerning because if
you follow that game like I did, like many Browns fans,
you should feel good tonight. That's a good win. But
I think even Browns fans would say we won that
game by three scores, you know. I mean, it's just
it's one of those to where you came away and
it reminded me of the Bengals team that ended up
with the top overall picking the draft Arney. It was

(21:19):
abysmal trying to watch that game. They were they were terrible. Man.
I feel awful for Bengal fans today. Joe Burrow does
not look healthy.

Speaker 2 (21:27):
I agree with everything you just said. Joe Burrow probably
the worst game probably as a professional. But it's so
funny you went ahead and started with that, because my
next thing was if you said, what did you learn
after Week one? It wasn't that Cincinnati was bad. I
was about to say, hey, maybe Cleveland's pretty good. That
defense is pretty good. And that offensive lide get out

(21:52):
of their damn way because they they could run the ball.
That's what came to my mind was that maybe Cleveland
was much better than I was given him credit for.
Maybe you're right, though, maybe he since he's got some
major problems, and I'll probably agree with you, but I
took away more that Cleveland was maybe the real deal
on this.

Speaker 1 (22:10):
Well. The only reason I would have cause for pause
is just how ineffective Joe Burrow was. That's as bad
as I've.

Speaker 3 (22:18):
Seen him period in the nave.

Speaker 2 (22:20):
When defense are because of just.

Speaker 3 (22:23):
They couldn't protect him. They couldn't run the football.

Speaker 1 (22:26):
I mean, Arnie he threw I mean seventeen I mean
he was was that's not even fifty completion?

Speaker 2 (22:31):
No, no, that he.

Speaker 1 (22:32):
I mean it was terrible. But before Seger comes in here,
I agree with you though, on Cleveland's ability to run
the football.

Speaker 9 (22:40):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (22:40):
Yeah, we saw a lot of teams that ran the
ball forty or more times today, and and Nick Chubb
looked good, and I know they I know they lost
their starting right tackle and Jack Conklin, he's a rock star.
And maybe it wasn't quite as as much of a
drop as we thought it might be in this game,
but long term, that's going to be an intro hole
to Phil for Cleveland going forward.

Speaker 2 (23:02):
I gotta say one thing I was right about when
we said, what do you expect you to be different
in the NFL season, when we talked about this like
a week or so ago, and I was right. I
don't know, I don't know have the stats for this,
but it seems like a lot of coaches went ford
on fourth down?

Speaker 1 (23:17):
Did it?

Speaker 2 (23:18):
Not? Fourth and five? I agree, even on their side
of the fifty. I mean, there's my goodness, man, I
saw Miami go for it on fourth and seven from
like the forty yard line. On the other side, it
just a lot of coaches were rolling the dice, saying, hey,
we're not gonna pud, We're got, we're not kicking field goals,
We're going for it on fourth down. It just seemed
that way, you know what I mean, Christ see that

(23:39):
they were doing that.

Speaker 1 (23:39):
When we come back to the Tirack dot Com studios,
I agree with you. We're agreeing too much tonight. Let's
find something to fight over. Steve Seger maybe can spark
that fire, because we got a lot to recap and
Steve was front and center for that showdown in LA today.

Speaker 3 (23:52):
What's going on?

Speaker 10 (23:53):
I don't know about center, but my head is still
spinning those teams for going back and forth. Did you
realize that there were sixty first downs in that game?

Speaker 2 (24:02):
It is a sixty minute game, no id.

Speaker 10 (24:05):
Each team had thirty first downs that it was like
the Big twelve and then some. But yeah, Tua was
on just his first seven completions. He was up to
about one hundred and sixty yards passing.

Speaker 2 (24:17):
I'm taking receiver drive. I tried to tell you guys,
it was.

Speaker 10 (24:22):
Pretty obvious early that they were going to go back
and forth, and you think, maybe this is going to
be more a game lost than one. And I was
always thinking about that first Dolphins drive where Tua took
him straight down about a seventy yard drive and then
turnover no points off it. And when it was a
seesaw game like that was the missing league. Oh they're
gonna lose by one or so, and then the missed
extra pointed, Oh now they're gonna lose not so.

Speaker 2 (24:44):
Why didn't need jerk reaction here? It is Dan Marino,
who let's go, let's go, let's go.

Speaker 10 (24:51):
By the way, I'm glad you mentioned before halftime because
here Miami had an eighty yard drive to score and
that didn't leave the Chargers much time, and yet they
got a field goal on a ten play drive and
only a minute and a half. Things are looking good.
They tie the game and a thirty yard pass interference
by J. C. Jackson, who had two two amazing bonehead

(25:12):
plays in this game.

Speaker 2 (25:13):
Xavier Howard had plenty of those two had like three
or four of those penalties.

Speaker 10 (25:17):
But the PI to give them a forty one yard
field goal at the end of the first half and
then lose by two. And that's the same defensive back,
by the way, who got the pick in the end
zone for the Chargers and then tried to run it
out instead of taking a knee and the offense could
started at twenty.

Speaker 3 (25:34):
He tried to run it out and was out at the.

Speaker 2 (25:36):
Four, yes, right right, what are you thinking?

Speaker 10 (25:38):
And he was so bad they just pulled him. He
didn't play in the fourth quarter. But as far as
first downs, Miami had twenty first downs by halftime. It
was quite the offensive show. And Tyreek Hill, you know,
Charger fans have seen him be good before late touchdown
pass to Hill in thirty six thirty four, Miami beats
the Chargers in La Tyreek. Hill in his career has

(26:00):
over one thousand yards receiving just against the Chargers today.

Speaker 3 (26:05):
Oh my gosh, Oh my gosh.

Speaker 10 (26:09):
One thousand yards just against the Chargers so far. Eleven
catches today for as you mentioned, two fifteen and two touchdowns.
The Sunday night game, in case you wonder why we're
not mentioning it, it was forty to nothing Dallas, That's why.
Beating the Giants, who had three turnovers in the rain,
two miss field goals, Tony Pollard two short touchdown runs
in the victory. The first place Raiders won at Denver

(26:31):
seventeen sixteen. You know, the Broncos missed an extra point
kick in the first quarter, and who missed it Sean
Payton's kicker from the Saints. They signed Will Lutz to
be their guy, and he also missed a fifty five
yard field goal third quarter. Denver loses by one. Rams
were down at Seattle at the half thirteen seven, and
still beat the Seahawks thirty to thirteen. Even though Cooper

(26:51):
Cup is on ir They had one hundred yard receiving
days for Puka Nakua and two to two at will
As everybody thought Philadelphia. I got to win at New
England twenty five to twenty. Green Bay won at Chicago
thirty eight to twenty. It was Jordan Love with three
touchdown passes. And then I came in. Yeah, Cleveland over
Cincinnati twenty four to three. Joe Burrow didn't just have

(27:13):
the eighty two yards passing T Higgins, eight targets, no catches.

Speaker 2 (27:17):
There you go on a eight targets.

Speaker 10 (27:21):
He had more targets than the Bengals had first downs
in this game. That's how bad it was. San Francisco
dominated at Pittsburgh thirty to seven. Wins for Tampa Bay
and New Orleans for Atlanta and Jacksonville. Washington beat Arizona
twenty to sixteen, and Baltimore won its game twenty five
nine over Houston. But Ravens running back JK. Dobbins is
out for the year with a torn achilles. Oh my goodness,

(27:44):
it just doesn't stop. The guy's going to finish his
rookie contract and not even play half the games in
the whole rookie Texas is up to number four in
the New AP poll. Alabama fell to number ten. Wow,
and yeah that's correct. Top three still Georgia, Michigan in
Florida State. Michigan State suspended football coach Mel Tucker without

(28:04):
pay while it investigates sexual harassment claims. Novak Djokovic won
the US Open, Tyler Reddick took the NASCAR Race, Germany
won the Foeba World Cup, and the US lost the
bronze medal game in overtime to Canada.

Speaker 3 (28:16):
Back to you, thanks, Steve, good stuff man.

Speaker 1 (28:19):
I updates all night long with Steve here from the
tyrock dot com studios.

Speaker 3 (28:22):
Let's hit some of these tweets, shall we?

Speaker 2 (28:24):
Oh you getting long?

Speaker 1 (28:25):
I like this from Jackie right. A bottle of orange
juice could block better than the Giants tonight. This is
just miserable, He adds the incredible sorrow I feel as
a Giants fan right now? Can this team even beat
the Cardinals next week?

Speaker 2 (28:40):
It's one thing about losing, it's the next thing to
know that your season's already over one game in, and
make no mistike about it. You lose to the Cardinals,
You're really gonna want to win. You want to get
rid of Daniel Jones with that one year left and
you want to get Caleb Williams in there, or you
want to get it even if you get like the
number two pick, and there's some good quarterbacks, so I
think you have to star thinking about next year, you know.

Speaker 1 (29:02):
So you're ready to cut bait on the season after
one game.

Speaker 2 (29:05):
Yeah, if I'm the Giants, I am again.

Speaker 1 (29:08):
A reminder knee jerk Sunday night, long season ago. But
it's pretty ugly to get Pete forty to zero?

Speaker 3 (29:16):
I mean, is it?

Speaker 1 (29:17):
We could try to give that disclaimer all night long?
Arnie forty to zip. This is interesting from DP, who writes, Yeah,
the Giants could lose by one hundred and forty and
the most suffering fan base today would still be in Chicago.
Well you think about that.

Speaker 2 (29:37):
After we disappointed. I was disappointed with Chicago. I thought
they'd put up a better game than that, and it
got out of hand real, you know, in the second
half there. But I wasn't impressed at all. I thought,
green Bag, maybe Jordan Love is itually real? Will see.
I mean, he didn't put up big numbers, but he
did exactly what he had to do.

Speaker 1 (29:55):
And again, Arnie's a big he needs to put a
big numbers for him another one one of those games
that we got in my market. Watched a lot of it.
I thought he looked like he'd been their starting quarterback
for like three years. He just looked very much in control.
You're not going to be wowed by the numbers, You're
one hundred percent right, But through three touchdown passes, even
without the I mean they they did not run the

(30:17):
ball well, and that's usually a staple of what Green
Bay is able to do. And yet they still they
were comfortable. They were never threatened that entire game. So
I was impressed. I was impressed, babe.

Speaker 2 (30:28):
If I was going to do my pick right now,
I'm more confident than ever that the Lions are probably
gonna go ahead and win that division.

Speaker 1 (30:34):
You know, Bay hits us up on Twitter right after
Week one. Daniel Jones probably thinks his offensive line is
working for the Cowboys. What was did you see the
final number on that this saga?

Speaker 3 (30:45):
By chance?

Speaker 1 (30:45):
And they finished with seven or eight sacks? I mean,
I understand everyone wants to blame Daniel jen at seven.
It was seven.

Speaker 10 (30:53):
And on top of that, guys next Gen said that
he dropped back thirty seven times and pressure was generated
sixty two the time, which is one of the top
five highest pressure rates in.

Speaker 2 (31:03):
Any game in the last four years. That's what I said.
I go, what about the pressures on him? Even if
though they didn't get to him, they were still pressuring him.
And you know what, he runs and he gains a yard.
They don't count that as a sack, but it might
as well be a sea.

Speaker 10 (31:16):
You're right, you're and Micah Parsons had six pressures, but
plenty of other guys had about that.

Speaker 2 (31:21):
Views That guy was in the backfield every play. It
seemed like every damn play.

Speaker 1 (31:25):
Chris writes, will this be the first year there has
ever been an AFC versus AFC Super Bowl? Jimmy g
and Jua Inquiring minds want to know. I don't know
if we can break the rules for that.

Speaker 2 (31:37):
I don't think that's gonna happen.

Speaker 1 (31:39):
I will say, if you're if we do, you know
what I've decided we should add to this show.

Speaker 3 (31:45):
Arnie, Yeah, tell me please knee jerk rankings.

Speaker 1 (31:48):
Yeah all right, just like college football has its top
twenty five, I say every week, because power ratings are stupid,
we have these things called standings. But yet y'all apparently
have clicked enough time. Some power rankings were every single
person on the planet has to do a stupid power
here's my power rankings. I have standings. I don't need
a power ranking. I have standings. So I say, Arnie,

(32:11):
every single Sunday night, we just go with the top
five teams and the bottom five, and it can it
can be ever changing because we're that first word.

Speaker 3 (32:21):
And I'm here to tell you right now.

Speaker 1 (32:23):
All those teams and everyone told me about this offseason
in the NFC, maybe Sands, the Cowboys, they're not necessarily
near the forty nine ers. Pollege got forty nine ers.
Eagles weren't all that oppressive. They wouldn't be in my
top five of the power rankings. And they went on
the road and won r.

Speaker 2 (32:38):
Dallas number one, San Francisco number two, Miami number three.

Speaker 3 (32:43):
I'd push Miami to two. They went on the road.

Speaker 2 (32:46):
Yeah, but still San Francisco they were, you know, San
Francisco was I might have San Francisco one over what
Dallas did. Yeah, I mean I still put Dallas San
Francisco that Miami won two and three based on what
they did to Space and then maybe Cleveland at.

Speaker 1 (33:05):
Number show and then you would have to consider Detroit.
I know that was Thursday, and it seems like it
was a month ago, but that was pretty good. And finally,
real quick before we grab a time out, Scottie. Right,
it's gonna be really fun hearing about Arnie's cowboys all
night long.

Speaker 2 (33:19):
Oh yeah, how about that? Huh? How about them cowboys
taking receipts on that receipts?

Speaker 1 (33:28):
All right, hit us up throughout the night on X
that stinking genius onan them at Plank show. You all
give us a follow, but make sure make sure you
hit us up at Fox Sports Radio when we come
back more of your tweets. We've just started to kind
of scratch the surface on what we learned after week one.
Plus we got a full weekend of college football to recaps.
All coming up with Arnie and Plank on a Fox

(33:49):
Sports Sunday. We're brought to you by Progressive Insurance. They
make bundling easy and affordable. Get them multi policy discount
by combining your motorcycle, Arvy but ATV and more all
your protection in one place. Buddle and save at Progressive
dot com. Now, gosh, I want to talk about every game, right,
I just it's this there's so much content to consume

(34:12):
from today. I don't know. I'm like, it's I'm overcome
with excitement that we have so much NFL to talk about.
To be honest with you, I gotta say so much
good stuff.

Speaker 2 (34:20):
I wouldna say one team very disappointing. Matter of fact,
probably one of the more disappointing teams of the of
Sunday had to be the Philadelphi Eagles. They jump out
to sixty points in the first quarter. They go like
they're gonna beat the Patriots forty to nothing, and the
Patriots don't allow them to, I believe, get a touchdout.
After that, Eagles looking they didn't lose that game. They're

(34:43):
pulling bonehead moves going forward. On fourth down, Hurt's fumbling
the football. Patriots had two point conversion called back. They
got and on fourth down Patriots caught the ball but
one guy had one foot out of bounds. Yeah, very
lucky Eagles to walk away with the victory in that week.

Speaker 1 (35:01):
Ris, I was gonna ask you because that was how
about Ezekiel Elliott's first touch is a Patriot of fumble?
I mean, it's just it's like that other stat I
heard Kyle Rudolph talking about before we jumped on, the
very first completion for c. J. Stroud was to himself.
The first touch as a Patriot was a fumble. Did

(35:22):
watching that at all change your opinion on the Patriots
because you thought they were going to be trash?

Speaker 4 (35:27):
Right?

Speaker 3 (35:28):
They were trash. They ended up getting beat forties in
which they easily could have.

Speaker 2 (35:31):
If we were on the air after it was sixteen.
Nothing I got trying to tell you, kraz to the
worst team in the NFL, but I gotta give him
some props. They hung in there. I don't know if
what was the you know, the fact that the weather
was bad, they were at home, and you know, the
Eagles didn't play their best game. Jalen Hurts was very average.
So I don't know if I got to give the
Patriots a little bit of credit or Philadelphia was just

(35:53):
not all that good. So I'm curious to see what
Miami's gonna run into next week against the Patriots.

Speaker 1 (35:58):
A team that I wasn't really impressed with. That I was,
I don't know, maybe hoping to really be floored by
was Minnesota, you.

Speaker 2 (36:05):
Know, disappointing.

Speaker 3 (36:06):
Yeah, you talk about.

Speaker 1 (36:07):
I'm sorry to bring this up Eric or Buddy Eric
on Twitter who always checks in diehard Vikings fan, and
I hope the boss man, I hope the boss man.
Hope Scott Shapiro's gone to bed so he doesn't hear
us talk about about his beloved Minnesota Vikings. But what
was that? I don't know, what was that your home.
You've got a Buccaneers team that has been listed among
those that you might not be necessarily giving supreme effort.

(36:31):
I don't think anyone, by the way, I don't think
you can sell tanking on a locker in this field
with veterans like that. But they're starting by guy Baker Mayfield,
and I'll go to the mattresses for Baker Mayfield. But
whenever there was some of the players that were available
in the draft and some of the free agents. When
you come away with Baker, I don't think a lot
of people see that as a crown jewel.

Speaker 3 (36:50):
Now, well, I do. He looked a part of times today.

Speaker 1 (36:53):
A couple of touchdown passes had the big stiff farm,
which seemed to change some of the momentum. But I mean,
I think if you were to tell any Patriot or
any Viking fan Hey, Kirk Couzin is gonna throw it
for three hundred and forty four yards justin Jefferson's gonna
be over one hundred and fifty yard receiving. They think, gosh,
we won by three or four touchdowns and they lose
by three.

Speaker 2 (37:14):
I mean the running game Madison was weah, Yeah, I
meant I thought this guy was gonna be the next
big thing. And obviously it's just one game, so we'll
see what he turns into. But very very disappointing. I'm
not gonna say debut because he's been on the team
a while, but debut is the starter over Dalvin Cook,
who's now gone. That's the reason why they let him
go because they had Madison there. So you're totally and

(37:35):
Jefferson very upset. Jefferson like six or seven catches at halftime,
and I think they target him like two or three
times after that, and very short catches, and he's he's
obviously upset too. I mean, you can't lose to Tampa
Bay at home. Yeah, you just can't do that. That
That was probably you're right, that was right up there
one to two in disappointments, no doubt about that.

Speaker 1 (37:58):
There were seven to eight, but ten teams that have
laid an egg at home so far in this opening weekend.

Speaker 2 (38:07):
That's crazy too, you know, right, Broncos.

Speaker 1 (38:10):
Lose to the Raiders in the game they easily could
have won. Colts lose to the Jaguars, which the Colts
are trying to get Anthony Richardson destroyed. Yeah you had
the good though, Yeah he did. Vikings lost it home,
Steelers lost at home, The Bears lost at home. The
Patriots lost it home.

Speaker 10 (38:28):
Ashly Chris every late afternoon game was won by the
road team, and then tonight Dallas won on the Roads.
So it is up to ten wins on opening weekend
by the road team, including Detroit. The record is twelve
for a week one and that was set forty years ago.

Speaker 1 (38:44):
So wow, doesn't bode well for the Jets tomorrow night.
There's bad there's some bad mojo on that field too. Yeah,
Giants and Chiefs a wrap up and the Seahawks. Speaking
of teams that just I don't know what's going on there.

Speaker 2 (38:55):
Oh, the Seahawks are frauds. I could tell that right now.
I don't need to see them anymore. There were one
hit Wonders last year. They're like the go gos. Our
lips are sealed.

Speaker 3 (39:04):
Yeah, you keep using the go gos. Interesting example.

Speaker 2 (39:06):
They had plenty of hitsd one head, they g of
something else. Yeah, give me another one hit wonder.

Speaker 3 (39:14):
Night Runners.

Speaker 1 (39:15):
Yeah, there you go. But it's funny because I think
two teams that you've tried to ride off all off season,
New England and the Rams. I sold some people to Rams.

Speaker 2 (39:26):
Maybe I was wrong on that, and they look pretty
damn good, did they not?

Speaker 1 (39:29):
Or what I liked?

Speaker 3 (39:30):
I liked that game.

Speaker 1 (39:31):
Two quick tweets before we wrap up our one. Todd
Ferman coming up next hour. Colin writes, the one thing
I've learned from Arnie is always being a noxious fan
when your team wins. So congrats to the new owner
of the Bears, Jordan Love. That was always Aaron Rodgers
day owner of the Bears. And then this is going
on from Calperty Rights. The Saint Stephen's played great, Derek

(39:53):
Carr played well with clock management. Ryan Tannehill needed to
play in the preseason. He was brutal with miss throws
and three picks. Nick Foles kept the Titans in the
game eight field goals. One TD ugly game. Oh I
watched a lot of that. That was a gross football game.

Speaker 3 (40:10):
That was the same to the Titans.

Speaker 10 (40:11):
Sixteen to fifteen was the final and car was sacked
four times just for old times sake.

Speaker 3 (40:17):
Oh my jeez, gosh, their left tackle was Carible.

Speaker 10 (40:20):
No, no, Miami, Miami didn't have a left tackle today,
and they got the ball out so quick it didn't matter.
It's as if Bosa and Mac didn't exist on the
defense today.

Speaker 1 (40:30):
Didn't even matter. Hour one of the books. More of
your reactions coming up next. It's already plike right here
on Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 4 (40:37):

cloud nine. His super Bowl pick is looking quite yes, tasty,
right right.

Speaker 2 (41:24):
And by the way, we will have it up after
the show.

Speaker 1 (41:27):
And I look, I see have what up after the show?

Speaker 2 (41:30):
The I mean copy of the show.

Speaker 3 (41:33):
So the podcast podcastn't know what no no, just because
your super Bowl pick.

Speaker 9 (41:38):
No no, no.

Speaker 2 (41:39):
I'm getting a lot of tweets and people want to
know what happened to our old technical director Chris Purfett.
And you know, if we're gonna pull back the curtain,
I had to let Chris go to another show, but
we can charge. We have a rule on this show
if you root for loser teams like he does. He
was a Lions fan. Well, they won, but we can't

(41:59):
have that just because they won this time around. If
you're rooting for a lousy team, we can't have you
on the show. Lorena's replacing him, and she's a Cowboy fan,
so obviously it was easy to make that move, but
we can't. We can't have you on the show. If
you're Awiance fan, we can't.

Speaker 1 (42:14):
Have well you, I guess since you're in charge right now, right,
Bobo was a Cowboys fan and.

Speaker 3 (42:20):
You moved him to another show.

Speaker 2 (42:21):
But we got rid of Bobo a long time ago
when the Cowboys were losing. Now we could welcome Bobo
back if you wanted to come back. She's in charge'll
be the Cowboy fan. It's okay. We don't need to
bring anyone else in, right exactly.

Speaker 1 (42:33):
Here's the thing, though, he's going to totally turn on
you in two weeks when they lose two games. So
just prepare, Just prepare yourself. There's nobody that forgets what
they said the week before better than the sink.

Speaker 2 (42:43):
And we have a rule if you're if you're root
for losers, you're out of here. So don't have time
for that.

Speaker 1 (42:50):
What's your uh? What's your favorite college team.

Speaker 2 (42:53):
That has nothing to do with anything right now?

Speaker 1 (42:56):
How long have you been on the show?

Speaker 2 (42:57):
College is a whole different atmosphere.

Speaker 1 (43:00):
All I just seems seems like it's a little bit
of an unfair rule for somebody who has no authority
to hire fire people on the program.

Speaker 2 (43:07):
It's mostly about the NFL teams, Yeah, it's most.

Speaker 1 (43:09):
Right, mostly about NFL teams, all right, Listen, sometimes we
get too far behind on the text, and I'm not
gonna let that happen. I tweets, excuse me, I hit
us up and stinking genius wanted Plank shown. Everybody should
be following us at Fox Sports Radio Sports Q right rights.
The coincidence that all the quarterbacks like Jones and Burrow
who signed big new contracts stuck up the joint today coincidence.

Speaker 2 (43:34):
Yeah, so it's a coincidence. I mean it has borrowed.
You're right, just didn't look one hundred percent. And I
don't know if I had anything to do it all
the time you missed out on, you know, and I
was gonna say spring training in the preseason, so that
could have something to do with it. Daniel Jones, I
don't know what to make of them. It's the last
go round for me. He won't be a starter in
the NFL after this year anyways. So enjoy your money,

(43:57):
and I hope you invested well.

Speaker 1 (43:59):
You keep saying that. I mean, he's he's tied to
the Giants.

Speaker 2 (44:03):
For a while because the Mannings like him, right, But.

Speaker 1 (44:09):
So you're expecting him just to pun after giving him
a eighty two million dollar fully guaranteed contract that made
him one of the top ten high Space.

Speaker 2 (44:17):
I don't know how you get Yeah, I don't know
how you're gonna get out of that because you know
you're gonna have to do something you can't like, you
can't can't keep that guy. It's like albatross are on
your neck now after this first game. You you can't
have it that you have to you have to do
something else.

Speaker 3 (44:34):
At the line there or anything. You don't blame his
offensive line all him?

Speaker 2 (44:38):
Why because he's done such a great job in the
last four years.

Speaker 1 (44:41):
Good enough, good enough job led him to a playoff,
won a playoff game. How many playoff games?

Speaker 3 (44:46):
Is too?

Speaker 1 (44:46):
A one?

Speaker 2 (44:47):
Wow?

Speaker 1 (44:47):
I mean you're gonna sit in February. I will, and
I think it's still going to be zero. But I mean,
stop it, Daniel Jones. I mean, the Giants didn't invest
in him like a guy that they're ready to give
up on after one game.

Speaker 3 (45:01):
They give him a four year, one hundred and sixty
million dollar contract.

Speaker 2 (45:04):
Insane. Isn't it that crazy?

Speaker 3 (45:06):
That guaranteed?

Speaker 2 (45:07):
What are the Dobbins gonna have to give Tom when
it's all said and done.

Speaker 1 (45:10):
I say he tests the free agent market. I think
he ends up as the starting quarterback for Oh who
do you not like? Who's your least favorite team? The
Eagles next year? Yeah, there you go. I'm just trying
to come up with some of these that you hate.
Bank writes after week one. Baker Mayfield also thinks Kirk
Cousins is a really nice guy.

Speaker 2 (45:29):
How about Baker Mayfield, give him some credit that you
pulled out the victory. Good for him.

Speaker 1 (45:33):
I loved it, you know, Uh, nature boy rights after
a week one, it's clearly trending to a Lion's Raiders
super Bowl too soon.

Speaker 3 (45:42):
Hell no, but yeah, it's not going to be a
Lions Raiders super Bowl.

Speaker 1 (45:45):
I still I've thought about that Thursday game a lot,
especially after watching today, and I know that you know,
your whole mindset is, oh, three drops, four drops, you
should be able to overcome it. Sure, But I mean
both teams did everything they could to lose that game.
I mean Detroit going for it on fourth and two
or whether and not getting it at midfield near the

(46:07):
end of the game. I don't mind that play and
that ploy, but the series before fourth and twenty five,
the Chiefs going forward as ineffective as Mahomes has looked
and then the Lions, you know, just can't really dry
the final nail in the coffin. I found that to
be one of the more fascinating games, and I still
don't know what to make of it, ARENI. I'm impressed
with the Lions, but I also wonder if that was

(46:29):
more about Kansas City blowing it. We'll find out, right,
we'll find out how they rechar nobody next week.

Speaker 2 (46:33):
But after what I saw of them without Travis Kelce,
you could guarantee you, I promise you this. If I'm
a head coach and we're playing the Kansas City Chiefs,
I got ten guys guarding Kelsey and then one guys
are Because if that's the way they're gonna look without Kelsey,
I'm just gonna take Kelsey away and double team him
and I'll let them, you know, worry about everybody else

(46:55):
after that, because they didn't look good without them at all.

Speaker 3 (46:57):
You know, I wouldn't.

Speaker 1 (46:58):
It's like there's a guy running wide oh's Canarius Tony
let him run wide open?

Speaker 3 (47:02):
He won't catch it anyway?

Speaker 1 (47:03):
Yeah? Why not?

Speaker 2 (47:04):
Yeah? Why not do that?

Speaker 1 (47:05):
Roger though, did add this on the Chiefs, right, So,
The Chiefs defense played well without Chris Jones, only gave
up fourteen points. The offense was bad, but we know
they'll get it fixed. Probably good to get this out
of the way early. Pump the branks on the Dolphins, Arnie,
It was the Chargers, after.

Speaker 2 (47:21):
All, Chargers are a good team, right. Matter of fact,
I was going to say this, you want to knee
jerk reaction. Maybe we were watching a preview of the
AFC Championship game?

Speaker 3 (47:30):
Well is that?

Speaker 2 (47:31):
Does that?

Speaker 1 (47:31):
Too soon?

Speaker 3 (47:32):
On matter?

Speaker 1 (47:33):
You thought the Chargers and the Dolphins were a preview
of the AFC Championship game.

Speaker 2 (47:37):
Yeah, could very well be a preview of the championship game.

Speaker 1 (47:41):
The Eagles Patriots could have been a preview of the
Super Bowl AFC NFC team could very easily.

Speaker 2 (47:46):
No, that can't very easily be that.

Speaker 3 (47:48):
But why why not?

Speaker 2 (47:49):
Are you papooing the Chargers for some reason?

Speaker 1 (47:51):
I'm actually papooing the Dolphins too. I mean, I'm just
not well, forget about the Dolphins that. I'm just kind
of curious. Do you not believe in the Chargers or what? Now?

Speaker 3 (48:00):
I don't.

Speaker 1 (48:01):
I don't believe in any team in the AFC West
outside of the first place Las Vegas Raiders right now,
I mean, come on ahead, news rights, FYI, the Yahoo
Sportsman twenty four AI computer simulator had the Cowboys going
sixteen to one and losing in the first round of
the playoffs, So the Giants fans at least have that.

Speaker 2 (48:22):
I got the how two thousand simulator that had the
Dolphins and the Cowboys.

Speaker 1 (48:26):
So the hol two thousand.

Speaker 2 (48:28):
Do you know what that's from, Arnie?

Speaker 3 (48:30):
You got to stop with these old movie references.

Speaker 2 (48:32):
I mean Space Odyssey two thousand or something like that.

Speaker 1 (48:36):
Boy, Bak has been on fire tonight after week one,
Arnie will overlook the thirty four points put on the
Dolphins defense.

Speaker 2 (48:44):
Yes he had, that's beside the point that you know
that forget about that the you know the dolphinside. Dolphins
defense stepped up when they had to.

Speaker 1 (48:54):
Chris, by the way, you even dismissed those sacks earlier.
I was like, oh, you only had a couple later
in the game. You mean the biggest moment in the
game when they.

Speaker 2 (49:02):
Have, yes, the big sack on second out and or
third out and fourth out.

Speaker 1 (49:06):
Yet yeah, bro, big gigs. Yeah, Brad and lost lost wages.
Right if you told me the Cowboys themselves would put
up forty points, I would be running to the window.

Speaker 3 (49:17):
To cash my over bet.

Speaker 1 (49:18):
Wrong. That's why I put the lost wages in Las Vegas.
I mean, I don't think anyone would have predicted the
Cowboys to win forty to zip tonight. Nobody outside of
the most ardent die hard boy tattooed on his neck
has a Dallas Cowboys star cowboy y neck. Wow. I'm
just saying, you gotta be in to think they're gonna

(49:39):
win forty zip. Right, It's just not reality.

Speaker 3 (49:41):
So I'm with you.

Speaker 1 (49:43):
I keep saying one more. But from Rick Flair, who
has checked in on the show tonight. After Week one,
I learned that Arnie will threaten to allegedly quit his
job or install Tua as the new Dan Marino every
single week.

Speaker 3 (49:55):
We've already done that.

Speaker 2 (49:56):
Remember my bet was that if the Dobbins lose their
first two games, I'll quit my job. That's right, They're
not doing that right.

Speaker 3 (50:02):
Well, but you pulled out.

Speaker 2 (50:03):
Of the bet, Yeah, well I pulled back into it.

Speaker 1 (50:08):
I don't think that's how this works in the world
of placing bets and putting things on the line.

Speaker 2 (50:13):
I knew that wasn't gonna happen. You didn't whatever, they
both I knew that wasn't gonna happen.

Speaker 1 (50:19):
Well, then why'd you pull out of the bat.

Speaker 2 (50:20):
Well that had injuries? But I shouldn't.

Speaker 1 (50:22):
They had one entry, they wouldn't.

Speaker 2 (50:24):
Didn't make a difference. It made no difference at all.

Speaker 3 (50:26):
This is the real deal. My gosh.

Speaker 1 (50:29):
I'm trying, man, I am trying so hard to keep
my calm and cool and just have fun with this tonight.
But you changing and flip flopping every second, flip flop.

Speaker 2 (50:38):
And I've been I've been on the Dolphins and the Cowboys.

Speaker 3 (50:42):
You flipped on your mind. You flip flopped on your bet.

Speaker 1 (50:46):
You changed your Super Bowl the bet I won now now,
by the way, no, you didn't win it now because
you pulled out of it.

Speaker 3 (50:52):
You can't.

Speaker 1 (50:52):
You don't get to either cash in or cancel your taking.
Say whoaall hold on here now? Now? Even more tom foolery.
We don't have confirmation that he ever picked Kansas last week,
but he's claiming that is a win. Yes, and Brandon,
am I to understand that Arnie's now trying to slide
his Super Bowl picks into the Megafox Sports Radio pick
one week into the season.

Speaker 3 (51:12):
Is this correct too?

Speaker 5 (51:13):
Yes, we keep a sheet here in the control room
that Dan Bayer puts out every season and everyone.

Speaker 3 (51:18):
Writes their name, they write their picks.

Speaker 5 (51:20):
Right, you got the Super Bowl champion, the AFC champion,
the NFC champion, a bold prediction worst team.

Speaker 2 (51:27):
And then there was like the MVP pick.

Speaker 5 (51:30):
And during last show, because I do two shows on Sunday, well,
Arnie over only does one. Who's the lazy one there?
During the show, Arnie calls me and says, hey, can
you write down my picks? Mind you, we were almost
that halftime of these Giants Cowboys.

Speaker 2 (51:47):
Do you think you would have called me up and
gotten my picks? And by the way, it doesn't change
been up for two weeks, cy did you call two
weeks ago?

Speaker 1 (51:53):
Chris?

Speaker 2 (51:53):
It didn't change anything. He goes, who do you like?
I go, I like Miami in Dallas. I've been telling
Miami in Dallas for hour logs.

Speaker 3 (52:00):
Change it can't affect your MVP vote.

Speaker 2 (52:03):
And I think I said I said Dua was my
m VP.

Speaker 1 (52:07):
I think you need to be asked. I think Dan
asks people to be a part of that. So when
you're not asked. I mean, I.

Speaker 2 (52:15):
I thought all the host of ass for for that.

Speaker 1 (52:18):
No, I mean you're claiming to be the boss in
all the in everything. You're moving people all around.

Speaker 2 (52:24):
So you tell me, you know, sometimes if you don't
get invited to the party, sometimes you just got to
crash the party there, Chris.

Speaker 5 (52:30):
Do you so Arnie's fantasy team is drafting on Tuesday
if anyone wants to stop it, right.

Speaker 1 (52:37):
Yeah, and then he's got a second link that's gonna
draft a week from next Tuesday.

Speaker 10 (52:40):
What did I do?

Speaker 2 (52:42):
My picks have not changed? He goes, who do you like?
I got Dallas and Miami?

Speaker 1 (52:46):
Who do you like?

Speaker 2 (52:47):
Is your MVP? TUA? But did that change before the
start of the season.

Speaker 3 (52:51):
No, And I know, yeah, you changed from the Saints
two weeks.

Speaker 2 (52:54):
No, I told you I was going to change from
the Saints though, I told you that, though.

Speaker 1 (52:58):
You know what, Arnie wants to be a part of
the fund just ride his pick in there. What else
does he have to do beyond MVP?

Speaker 2 (53:05):
And then he does like sleeper team that does no
big deal whatever. I know you're gonna do the whole thing. Yeah,
I did, I said the Raiders the Raiders.

Speaker 1 (53:13):
Okay, good call. Are you happy now that you got
your pick in a week late? You're you're gonna be
on the list that I think, Dan just throws away.

Speaker 2 (53:20):
Yeah, because last year they crossed my name off of
the list. I don't know who's doing all that. I
want my name on the list.

Speaker 1 (53:27):
And now they didn't ask for your pick this year,
but you're forcing.

Speaker 2 (53:32):
Yes, forcing my pick down everybody's throat. Why shouldn't I
get asked? Everybody else gets asked, but Arnie, I don't understand.

Speaker 3 (53:39):
I don't know. I would start reading the tea leaves
on the wall. I think that you need people don't like.

Speaker 2 (53:45):
Me, But come on, I said, Dan Bayer maple syrupy.
At least you should ask me to get in this
little thing of his.

Speaker 3 (53:51):
See, that's that's the thing.

Speaker 2 (53:53):
I'm sorry. I'm not in the click like everybody else.

Speaker 1 (53:56):
You can't send people a gift and then talk terribly
about the You can, Yes you can. Arnie will send
you a thing of syrup, and so for the whole
year he can tell you you're terrible, lazy and you don't.

Speaker 2 (54:07):
Do your joke exactly. That's exactly what I do.

Speaker 1 (54:10):
We come to you every single Sunday night live from
the tire rack dot Com studios tire rack dot Com.

is going to join us. Put a complete rap on
week one. By the way, how did the picks go
this week?

Speaker 2 (54:36):
And for horrible? There's something wrong with me and I've
got like a like a computer bugger or something like that.
I've never been so bad. My football life is hanging
by a thread right now. It's horrible.

Speaker 1 (54:49):
Would you take a Dolphin's Super Bowl run to continue
to be terrible on your picks for they of your life?
At one?

Speaker 3 (54:59):
Yes, wondering if that's what's happened here? Has Arnie made
a deal with the devil?

Speaker 2 (55:02):
Exactly what you would have thought. Arizona would have won
their game over that Mississippi State team too, But.

Speaker 3 (55:09):
That, yes, that is it. The Mississippi State Bulldogs who
play in the SEC and they all right when we
come back.

Speaker 1 (55:16):
Todd Furman joined us to try to fix Arnie's picks
next on Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 3 (55:21):
Oh, it's Arnie in Plank.

Speaker 1 (55:22):
It's not just a Fox Sports Sunday, it's a Fox
Football Sunday. YEP sale to our buddy, Todd Furman Bet
the Board podcast at Todd Furman on Twitter. Oh, Todd,
what was that tonight with the Giants? I mean, what
can you even say? After forty to zip right now?

Speaker 3 (55:41):
That was that was tough?

Speaker 11 (55:43):
It definitely was. I mean, look, that offensive line had
play of questions coming into the year, and Dallas really
exploited it. The turnovers and everything else layered into it.
But that forty to nothing scoreline not nearly as indicative
of exactly what the defense did in that particular spot
when you get non offensive touchdowns mixed in. And the
Giants will have a chance to get right this coming
week against the Arizona Cardinals before they follow that up

(56:04):
with a trip to the Bay Area against another team
that's not exactly who you want to match up with
in the forty nine ers, that has a very tenacious
defensive line in their own right.

Speaker 2 (56:13):
Todd, I remember when I was giving out my picks,
I said to everybody, Oh, I love the home teams,
and then ten teams ten home teams lose in the
first weekend. What the hell is wrong with me? I
can't pick a winner. What's happened to be Dodd? What's
going on?

Speaker 11 (56:28):
It is a tough business to try and be in,
but there is no doubt home field advantage we've seen
eroded over the years. But I think when you look
at a lot of these teams, you know, the sides
that showed a little bit more continuity gave their starters
to some more reps in the preseason. But again it's
only one data point. I don't think they are really
things to panic about for a lot of teams. But
the most troubling things that I saw unfold the Seattle

(56:50):
Seahawks offensively in the second half against the Rams. That's
a real red flag. The Chicago Bears not willing to
push the ball downfield with a young quarterback in justin fields,
that's the problem. Bengals game against the Browns, that's something
that you can completely throw away. And if they bounce
back with a chip on their shoulder next week against
the Ravens, this will long be forgotten when the Bengals
find themselves in the mix to win the.

Speaker 1 (57:09):
AFC North tod This is maybe a dumb question, but
why is there always such a rush to put out
a week two line. I understand that way want action,
but literally before the Sunday night football game that I
have different entities that are here's week two lines. I
mean it's okay to wait a little bit and do
some research or maybe at least wait until the Monday
night game before a week two lines.

Speaker 11 (57:30):
Right, Well, the faster you can put out a number,
if you're a book, the faster you have a chance
to earn on those particular wagers. So if you're not
hanging your numbers as fast as some of your competitors
in the market space, what you're going to find is
that betters will gravitate towards those books. Now, obviously, recreational
betters aren't running to bet these games seven days in advance,
so you do open up yourself to some of the

(57:51):
unknowns that are out there. But when you look at
the betting markets, I think there's a lot to be
said about being first trying to keep your consumers that
may be coming off that emotional high of a good
Sunday at the betting window or the exact opposite, looking
to try and put their money to work for them.
And if you don't have those offerings, then somebody else does.
That's ultimately where the consumer is going to take their business.

Speaker 2 (58:10):
Dodd, you don't watch any of these games and say,
all week two, I've changed my mind. You guys are
really dogs out there. I'm going against the giants every
week or something like that. You don't do that or
what more so.

Speaker 11 (58:23):
In college than the NFL. I think when you look
at these NFL teams, you have a pretty good indication
of who these teams are going to be coming into
the year. There may be some little things, there are
tinks in the armor that you have to try and
be able to work out, but at the same time,
it's not something like we're seeing in college where you're
trying to figure out how good the Colorado Buffaloes are
and how much you need to overhaul your power ratings.

(58:43):
In the NFL, you may move your numbers one and
a half to two points an injurial FORCET to make
a much larger adjustment, but you're not talking about a
team playing two games where you're moving a team north
of two touchdowns to make sure that you can catch
up to the betting market because they've exceeded everyone's expectations.

Speaker 1 (58:58):
Who disappointed you today, Vikings, maybe every home team, the Steelers,
But who really maybe shocked you and how bad they were?

Speaker 11 (59:08):
Oh, I mean, I think when you look at it,
they're a number of likely candidates. The Giants don't bother
me nearly as much. I think Dallas is a very
good football team. I think Seattle offensively, it looked like
a continuation of what we saw from Gino Smith through
the second half of last year. I mean, when you
gain one first down against the Los Angeles Rams, Look,
this is a Rams team whose win total was bet
down from seven and a half to six, and other

(59:29):
than Aaron Donald, most Rams fans couldn't name you a
lot of the defenders on that stop unit. So that's
a little bit problematic for me. The Bears, I wasn't
nearly as high on as folks in Chicago that thought
this roster was suddenly going to be overhauled. But if
you're you know, Ryan Poles, you're trying to figure out
did I need to spend all that money on linebackers
when I can't protect my quarterback and Justin Field is
consistently under duressed. The Vikings they took money against them today.

(59:52):
I think Tampa was a team that was undersold a
little bit coming in. You look at that roster, and
while it's a massive downgrade from Tom Brady to Baker Mayfield,
at their peace, Tom Brady in the twilight of his career,
you know, wasn't as big a downgraade as people are
led to believe. There are still some building blocks on
the defensive side. You have some skill position talent in
Minnesota lost an awful lot defensively, and you know, when

(01:00:12):
you look elsewhere, I mean, you can always find teams
that kind of underachieved. I think the most glaring issue
I saw those with the charger secondary. I mean, they
were ill equipped to slow down Tyreek Hill in any capacity.
And I'll make the case that J. C. Jackson's pass
interference penalty at the end of the first half might
have been the single dumbest penalty I've seen an NFL
player take in quite some time.

Speaker 1 (01:00:31):
That was personal fought.

Speaker 2 (01:00:32):
We brought that up matter of fact. Obviously, Todd's out
there in Las Vegas. That's what the Super Bowl is
going to be. I'm wondering, if you're going to put
your house up for Airbnb, would you rather rent it
out to a Dolphin fan or a Cowboys fan?

Speaker 11 (01:00:45):
Probably a Dolphin fan, but at that point, I'm not
sure I'm really running to rent it out to either
of them, given the illustrious franchise histories of perennial postseason underachievement.
But I think both fan bases have a lot to
be excited about. Look Dallas from a rock the standpoint,
arguably one of the best in the NFC from top
to bottom, and we know how good this Dolphins offense
can be if Tua stays healthy and ty Retail continues

(01:01:08):
to perform at this high level.

Speaker 2 (01:01:09):
What can I get? Well, by the way, what can
I get to a FRO MVP of the Year. What
can I what odds?

Speaker 11 (01:01:14):
You'll have to see when odds get reposted. But I
can tell you the number that you would have had
on Tua coming into Week one won't be the same number.
Oh yeah available right now? Given how strong his performance,
who was a four hundred and forty six yards passing
in that thirty six thirty four win earlier.

Speaker 1 (01:01:28):
Today, Todd, I want to shift to college man. Texas
kind of shook up the whole world this week and
now not they played well, they deserve to win, But
I think we can say Texas is back, and I
mean it's as wild as it's been. They're as likely
to not play well next week against Wyoming. But I
don't know. As an Oklahoma fan, this seems like it
feels different. It seems like this team really has something

(01:01:50):
to them.

Speaker 3 (01:01:51):
What do you think?

Speaker 11 (01:01:52):
It's a team that I was high on coming into
the year. I didn't think that they were going to
have a chance to make the college football Playoff. Although
I guess I'm betting a team to win the Big Twelve,
I'll probably goes hand in hand. But we talked about
it on our Beat the Board preseason previews about how
they had really upgraded the overall talent level, specifically on
the defense for Texas, and they looked and felt a
lot more like an SEC caliber unit. What I wasn't

(01:02:14):
sure was there just yet was the team offensively, specifically
along the offensive line. But they did a good job
protecting quinn Ewers. He made the throws he needed to
make and when you have receivers as talented as ot
and I Mitchell out there, Jatavian Sanderson's Xavier Worthy, it
makes life easier. And I think the scary part for
teams in the Big Twelve when you look at Texas,
they were really able to get on track running the football.
And I think when you have a player as young

(01:02:35):
as CJ. Baxter, going to take him a little while
to pick up the college game. But when they start
playing some of those games, specifically in Dallas in a
couple of short weeks against the Oklahoma Sooners, this is
going to be a very balanced Texas attack and you
can understand why there's finally some legitimate optimism down there
in Austin.

Speaker 2 (01:02:51):
By the way, I'm just curious Colorado or Colorado State
line twenty three and a half by fred I guess
what you keep taking Colorado until they don't cover.

Speaker 11 (01:03:00):
I mean, this is a number in my opinion that's
a little bit too steep. Yeah, anyway that I could
look at this game would be Colorado State. I mean,
Colorado goes from being a twenty and a half point
underdog in their opener to a short favorite in the
game last week and now more than a three touchdown
favorite against an in state rival. And oh, by the way,
Colorado may not get caught completely with their pants down

(01:03:21):
in this spot, but you do wonder how many games
in a row a team can bring their a game
with all eyes the college football world on them. Knowing
that Colorado has two massive games in subsequent weeks against
Oregon and USC so you could forgive them if they
take a week and their eye off the ball against
the Colorado State team they just dismantled by Washington State.
But keep in mind Colorado State had a week off

(01:03:42):
to prepare. Now they have two weeks of film on Colorado,
and while they may not have athletes, they may have
enough to keep this game a little bit closer than
oddsmakers belief.

Speaker 1 (01:03:49):
I like Dway Todd's thinking. Have a great week, Todd
always appreciate the inside man.

Speaker 11 (01:03:53):
Thanks, you got a gentleman. Be safe and real stet
chat same time next week. And Chris, hopefully your Raiders
maybe staring down East probably win in Western New York
and a Q and O starts at Jimmy Garoppolo.

Speaker 1 (01:04:05):
Wow, already in that game.

Speaker 3 (01:04:07):
Yeah? Thanks Dot bet the Board podcast. By the way,
is the best.

Speaker 1 (01:04:10):
Go listen to it. Get smart, get learned already that
maybe you should start listening to the Bet the Board podcast.

Speaker 2 (01:04:17):
I have to let my picks have been awful. You
absolutely aw worse the the Segars make sure the worst
though we don't.

Speaker 1 (01:04:24):
We don't make picks to Sager and I don't. But
check it out Bet the Board podcast. Follow Todd on
Twitter at Todd Firmanent. Speaking of Steve Sager, here he
is come to you live from the Ti rock dot
com studios. What's going on, Steve?

Speaker 10 (01:04:36):
You just heard the worst pick for Chris and I.
It's on the show with us every Sunday night. By
the way, a random NFL stats I mentioned earlier that
that wild Miami win at the Chargers, there were sixty
first downs in that sixty minute game. There were fourteen
kickoffs total in that game, fourteen touchbacks as well. Ladies
and gentlemen, you know when the extra point got a

(01:04:57):
little routine, they did something about it, so maybe some
of them keep an eye on this NFL season. By
the way, I did notice that Thursday night, since the
Chiefs had lost their first season opener in almost a decade.
It ended a streak of eight straight opening wins, the
longest active winning streak in season openers. Well, The Chargers
had won four close games in a row four years

(01:05:18):
in a.

Speaker 1 (01:05:18):
Row to that's that's over now.

Speaker 10 (01:05:20):
Saints had won four openers in a row. New Orleans
with the one point win we mentioned last hour. Seahawks
had won four straight openers, but Seattle was leading the
Rams at half thirteen to seven and lost thirty to thirteen.
Cooper Cup on the injured list, and so Puka Nakua
had ten receptions one hundred nineteen yards and two to

(01:05:40):
two at Well had six receptions one hundred nineteen yards
this while the Rams on the ground got this from
cam Akers today twenty two carries, twenty nine yards and
one touchdown, which yes was short. The Miami went over
the Chargers was thirty six thirty four in La on
a late TD pass to Tyreek Hill, who catches for
two hundred and seventeen yards and two scores. Road wins

(01:06:04):
for Philadelphia and Green Bay and Las Vegas, a seventeen
to sixteen winner at Denver. Jimmy Garoppolo two short touchdown
passes to Jacoby Myers, including the go ahead TD with
about six and a half minutes left, ten penalties each
in that game. And then there's tonight's contest Dallas, a
forty to nothing winner over the Giants in New Jersey.
You know, since they started this current division format these

(01:06:27):
last twenty years or so, Dak Prescott has one of
the best records within his own division. After the win
tonight against the Giants, it's twenty eight and seven for
him Wow against the nfcast. That's an eight hundred winning percentage,
just shy of the Peyton Manning winning percentage in his
own division. And then I guess on the best record

(01:06:48):
for a quarterback, I'm Brady Chris and.

Speaker 1 (01:06:51):
I would know this one.

Speaker 10 (01:06:51):
It's Patrick Mahomes dominating the AFC West Wow twenty seven
and three record a nine hundred winning percentage this year.

Speaker 3 (01:07:00):
West Wow.

Speaker 10 (01:07:02):
By the way, Dak Presscott head to head with the
Giants eleven and two, So here you had one of
the dominant shutout wins by a road team in years.
I mean I saw a graphic tonight that there was.
It turned out in nineteen eighty nine, Brown Steelers Cleveland
won their season opener fifty one nothing at Pittsburgh, So
that's even more than Dallas got tonight, but then a

(01:07:24):
decade later, Steelers won their season opener at Cleveland forty
three nothing. Those are two of the most flopsided shutout
wins by Eddie Road Team week one. Dallas is in
the top five on that list. Now all there were
other games, including Cleveland whipping Cincinnati twenty four to three. Today,
Joe Burrow just eighty two yards passing fourteen of thirty

(01:07:44):
one through the air. Baltimore down Houston twenty five to nine.
Ravens running back JK. Dobbins is out for the year
with a torn achilles to Major League Baseball. Tonight, San
Francisco be Colorado six to three. The Twins are the
first place team in the AL Central, still and a
half games out of the Guardians. Minnesota lost at home
to nothing to the Mets, Cleveland loss to one at

(01:08:05):
the Angels, and the Yankees today did not have their
first hit until the eleventh inning. Geez Gencarlo Stanton hit
the tying home run in the twelfth, and then the
Yankees won in thirteen innings, four to three over Milwaukee.
You know a lot of Giants fans in football are
Yankee fans in baseball? So not a good night for
them football and not a good day for them baseball,

(01:08:27):
as it turned out, because the news that the Yankees
new rookie Jason Dominguez will miss nine to ten months.
Yeah he needs surgery for a torn elbow ligament.

Speaker 1 (01:08:36):
Oh jeez.

Speaker 10 (01:08:37):
Tyler Reddick took the NASCAR Race at Kansas. Denny Hamlin
finished second. Novak Djokovic won the US Open, his twenty
fourth career major title. He beat Danil Medvedev in straight sets.
Djokovic's record in majors this year was twenty seven to one.
His only loss was in the Wimbledon final.

Speaker 1 (01:08:54):
Neck to you, thanks Steve, as we come to you.
On a Fox Football Sunday from the Tirak dot com studios,
he mentioned the domination Dak Prescott has had. Right, let
me add some context to it too. In their last
twenty six games versus Dallas and Philly, the New York
Giants are now three and twenty three and Dak Prescott

(01:09:19):
is eleven and oh oh yeah, saw that again?

Speaker 3 (01:09:22):
Sorry sorry sorry, and oh maybe eleven and oh later
this year ten and o.

Speaker 1 (01:09:26):
In the last ten matchups against the Giants, he hasn't
lost to the New York Giants since twenty sixteen.

Speaker 2 (01:09:32):
Not bad for an average quarterback, you know what I mean?

Speaker 1 (01:09:34):
Not bad?

Speaker 2 (01:09:34):
Way?

Speaker 3 (01:09:35):
Yeah, he is eleven and oh, I apologize he was
ten and o going in.

Speaker 2 (01:09:38):
Yeah, eleven and oh after the win against the Giants
forty nothing.

Speaker 3 (01:09:43):
What you just want to correct me constantly?

Speaker 1 (01:09:46):
You don't know. I knew that.

Speaker 2 (01:09:46):
Oh, I got it right here in front of me.

Speaker 1 (01:09:48):
I saw it on Twitter.

Speaker 3 (01:09:49):
I saw it on Twitter for an average quarterback? Is
that what you said?

Speaker 1 (01:09:53):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (01:09:53):
Yeah, well above average quarterback. He's certainly I could probably
come up with about seven to ten i'd rather have before.

Speaker 1 (01:10:00):
Well, sure, I could come up with seven or ten
i'd rather have before Tua. It doesn't take away from
it about the game. You're telling me right now that
you wouldn't take Joe Burrow long term over Tua. Patrick
Mahomes long term over toa You're just.

Speaker 2 (01:10:18):
Gonna laugh now, I'd rather have two. After this year,
You'll see why i'd rather have Tua after this year
shows tonight, Arnie, right, but I'd rather have Tour right now,
and you'll see after this year what he wins the
MVP why I would want Tua.

Speaker 1 (01:10:31):
Okay, I mean again I don't know what else to
say to that except we'll see. But I think ninety
percent of the audience tonight outside of Owen here, who
might be your other now, the PAC twelve guru has
had to retire because the PAC twelve sucks. You have
Owen here attacking me every single night. He might be
the only one that agrees. I think ninety percent of

(01:10:52):
our audience would still take Mahomes over Tua even if
he wins them.

Speaker 2 (01:10:55):
You didn't say Mahomes I mentioned.

Speaker 1 (01:10:57):
I said Burrow Mahomes and you're like, no matter, he's
gonna win the MVP.

Speaker 2 (01:11:01):
I mean, obviously I want my Homes, but Burrow, I'm
gonna I'm gonna pump the brakes on that real quick.
I'm I'm pumping the breaks on Burrows.

Speaker 1 (01:11:08):
You were ready to cut Tua after he threw his
first interception in the preseason.

Speaker 2 (01:11:13):
Hey, all all relationships have some fights there, Chris, there's
something do you okay question?

Speaker 1 (01:11:21):
Just for the direction of the show. Yeah, do you
want to hit the melt Tucker stuff now or do
you want to wait till the final hour of the show.

Speaker 2 (01:11:28):
We could do the final hour. That's fine with me.

Speaker 3 (01:11:31):
You see some of the new details coming out.

Speaker 2 (01:11:33):
Right, I thought I knew all the details.

Speaker 3 (01:11:37):
Okay, okay, well then we'll wait.

Speaker 1 (01:11:38):
We'll wait till next hour for you to to dive
into that a little bit deeper. Let's hit Twitter. It's
the best way to stay in touch with the show.
Arnie's at stinking genius. Want him at Plank Show, and
everyone should be following us at Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (01:11:49):
I do have to read what sports q road and says.
Please thank your lovely producer for playing Vacation by the
Go Gos. She is a producer of the people. You
try to tell me that the Go Go really had
more than one hit, it's not our Our lips are sealed.
That's pretty much only hit day out. I thought I
didn't know they had more than one hit.

Speaker 1 (01:12:08):
You want to fight over whether or not the Go
Gos had one hit on the night of the first
week of the NFL. Go ahead, Yeah, they had multiple
hits already, multiple hits. Oh, you're getting ripped by the way.
I want you to know that.

Speaker 2 (01:12:21):
Why is that, Owen says, And he just sent it
to me. He didn't send this to you. How can
we rid you of this wet blanket co host you
suffer with on Sunday nights. Dude is insufferable. Tell him
to be a gloomy, gloomy cloud elsewhere. I didn't know
you were so gloomy, Miss I didn't know I was
so gloomy either.

Speaker 1 (01:12:40):
I didn't know that.

Speaker 2 (01:12:41):
I love that, though I love it, Sarah, take.

Speaker 1 (01:12:43):
A time out.

Speaker 3 (01:12:44):
When we come back.

Speaker 1 (01:12:45):
I'll read more. I guess anti me text coming up
to the program a little bit later on, plus some
good takes here and there on exactly what we did
learn in week one.

Speaker 3 (01:12:56):
Coming up next on Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 1 (01:12:59):
All right, on a Fox Football Sunday, Steve Disaga in
the house to get a squat up on everything going
on in the world of sports. What's up, Steve, Hello again, gentlemen.

Speaker 10 (01:13:09):
We do have the Dallas forty to nothing opening win,
seven sacks from the Cowboys defense, by the way, shutting
out the Giants tonight. But there are other notable things
that occurred in the NFL. You mentioned this Miami game
which was thrilling thirty six thirty four over the Chargers
in LA and it was such a high scoring game,
which some people thought it would be going in. But

(01:13:31):
here you have the new defensive coordinator, Vic Fangio, who
say what you want about him as a head coach.
He's been a great defensive coordinat.

Speaker 2 (01:13:41):
They got this guy. Hey, it makes all the coordinators
mean nothing, But go ahead.

Speaker 10 (01:13:45):
I think you would put him on the list of
guys that people don't think highly of his head coaches
like uh, what Wade Phillips or North Turner, but have
been great coordinators and have decades worth of good resume
in that department. And it's Vic Fangio against Brandon Staley's team,
the Chargers. Staley was assistant coach on Fangio's defense for

(01:14:08):
three years with the Bears and with the Broncos before
Staley became the Rams defensive coordinator. And I feel like
I've said this eight to ten times in recent years
on our Sunday Night show about the Chargers. Brandon Staley
starting his third year and people get to distracted by
the shiny object when he went for it so often

(01:14:28):
his first year as a coach, like, oh, that's analytics.
And that's the reason why there are two basic football
problems with this team under Brandon Staley. And we've mentioned
it often the last two years. They couldn't run, couldn't
stop the run. So all of that came to a
head in the playoff loss last year. Jacksonville was awful
early in that game, handed the Chargers a twenty seven

(01:14:50):
to nothing lead.

Speaker 3 (01:14:51):
But guess what.

Speaker 10 (01:14:52):
They couldn't run and they couldn't stop the run, and they.

Speaker 2 (01:14:55):
Ran now and they didn't Dophins didn'trun the ball gain.

Speaker 10 (01:14:57):
Which brings me to the two points today is this preseason,
the Chargers actually averaged two hundred rushing yards per game,
and that included Joshua Kelly, who had almost one hundred
yards today. That two hundred yards a game preseason was
the highest average by any team in any preseason in
over twenty years. So the running game was there. They

(01:15:17):
almost had two one hundred yard running backs. But as
far as being able to stop an opponent, the answer
is still no. And until they can do that, you
really can't take them seriously as a contender.

Speaker 3 (01:15:30):
Wow, today I.

Speaker 2 (01:15:32):
Gave them a little bit more credit than that. After
the Dauphin game. They got burned on a couple of
third downs. Otherwise they get one stop, the game comes
out differently.

Speaker 10 (01:15:39):
Di Seger, it was Yeah, as we mentioned in the
first hour, it was such a back and forth game,
so evenly matched, it was probably gonna be a mistake
that had a big hand in deciding this. And when
that field goal was handed to Miami late in the
first half on the thirty yard pass interference, they were
nowhere near field goal range. I mean that gave the

(01:16:00):
lead at the half. They wind up winning by two.

Speaker 2 (01:16:02):
You have a Charger still had what one forty five
left in a one or two the.

Speaker 10 (01:16:06):
Final drive second half. Yeah, and then the sacks came
in which which were significant by the Bay Party. But
the Chargers broke a franchise record today giving up over
four hundred what was it, four sixty six or four
sixty six to Tua. The old record was against the
Kurt Warner Rams of four point fifty three allowed about

(01:16:27):
twenty years ago. In fact, the Chargers gave up the
second most yards passing allowed in any season opener. Turns
out Brady and the Patriots against Miami about a decade
ago through for five sixteen. So it was a record
breaking loss. And we mentioned this just briefly earlier in
the show. But the pressure just wasn't there on Tua.

(01:16:49):
He dropped back forty six times today got hit twice. Wow,
not a single sack.

Speaker 2 (01:16:55):
You won't get a concussion that way, that's for sure.

Speaker 10 (01:16:57):
Got the ball out quick, they moved straight down the field.
I could hear one of the NFL statisticians it's halftime saying,
my head has spinning.

Speaker 2 (01:17:04):
Man, this pace, Miami.

Speaker 10 (01:17:05):
I just haven't been able to look up for my
computer this whole first half. And eventually at all the points,
all those first downs, sixty first downs in sixty minutes,
and a.

Speaker 2 (01:17:15):
W for my wait till we get Jonathan Taylor in
like a week or something like that.

Speaker 10 (01:17:20):
But guess who's the first place team in the AFC West? Yes, right,
somebody asked AP when's the last time the Raiders won
their opener and all the other teams in the division loss?
The answer is the year two thousand, so they are
alone in first the Las Vegas Raiders seventeen sixteen, the
win at Denver Broncos missed an extra point kick in

(01:17:40):
the first quarter.

Speaker 2 (01:17:41):
Oh my gosh, that's right, I forgot about lost.

Speaker 10 (01:17:44):
Can't forget it. So like Arnie bringing up that field
goal gift the Dolphins got end of the first half
turns out to be huge because analysts told me this
one time, a guy who worked both NFL and college games.
He says, college can be very exciting because, frankly, it's
a bunch of kids playing, and so they make mistakes
and there's a bunch of big plays. The NFL is
a bunch of professionals, and it's so evenly matched. And

(01:18:07):
we see this, maybe not in the Dallas game tonight,
but we see this in a lot of NFL games. Well,
for those who didn't hear earlier, Texas is up to
number four in the new AP College pool. Alabama fell
to number ten, Colorado is up to number eighteen, Oklahoma nineteen,
North Carolina twenty. Novak Djokovic won the US Open. Germany

(01:18:27):
won the THEBA World Cup, beating Serbia in Manila. Dennis
shrewder twenty eight points he had.

Speaker 2 (01:18:33):
At embarrassment, We're an embarrassment.

Speaker 10 (01:18:35):
Germany went undefeated in the tournament, beat the US in
the Semis one thirteen one eleven. USA basketball lost the
bronze medal game in overtime this morning to Canada. Three
pointers in the coach instead of curve three pointer by
mccal bridges had forced over tonime. Yeah, Golden State's Steve
Kurtin not a friend of the show, was the US
head coach. The assistants included to Ron Loeua of the Clippers,

(01:18:58):
Mark Few of Gonzaga, and the he's Eric Spolster. His
mom is, yeah, why are you not on any show?
He also says as well, So Spain won the Basketball
World Cup four years ago when Ricky Rubio was tournament MVP.
He's not only sat out this summer, Rubio is pausing
his career for mental health reasons. He says, Germany amazing

(01:19:19):
wins the Basketball World Cup, and remember we've got an
Olympics coming up in next summer in France. France was
awful in this tournament in hoops despite having some names
on their team. So the US at least was good
enough to qualify for next summers. But I would like
to see Canada's team because they had Dylan Brooks score
thirty nine points today. Shay Gilgess Alexander was super in

(01:19:40):
this tournament. He had thirty one points twelve assists today
and RJ Barrett and the next had twenty three points.
He's Canadian. That's the team I'm sure that will be
together those guys for the Olympics next summer.

Speaker 1 (01:19:50):
By the way, I want to point this out. When
Arnie sent his Roman numeral Rundown, I told him I'm
ignoring it because he had basketball on it.

Speaker 3 (01:19:57):
I was like, Arnie, it's the first week in a
football get him basketball on them.

Speaker 2 (01:20:00):
I had twenty two Roman numerals this time around.

Speaker 1 (01:20:03):
Yeah, one of them was basketball. Come on, we can't
spend too much. This Seger's update was perfect. All right.
When we come back to the tire rack dot Com
studios all in after week one, we know this and
I have a question. I have two questions. The team
that looked amazing in week one but will bottom out
the rest of the year. And conversely, the team that
looked terrible in week one and we'll turn it around.

Speaker 4 (01:20:26):

and boom, it's the first thing right there. You want
to hit every game or do you want to catch
up on a few things that you've learned from week
one after the week?

Speaker 2 (01:21:15):
Whatever you want to do. I mean there's subgames. Really
we don't have to hit on that. We're just kind
of blam but either way, whatever you want to hit on, Well,
how about this?

Speaker 3 (01:21:24):
How about this?

Speaker 1 (01:21:26):
I don't know if home teams could have been worse.
I think that's the one takeaway we have starting on
Thursday night. But it wasn't. I know. You like to
grade games from like not necessarily gray, but gauge the
entertainment factor by how tight they are, how close they
are coming down to the final minute.

Speaker 3 (01:21:47):
It's fair to say we didn't have a lot of
those this week, right.

Speaker 1 (01:21:49):
I mean we had Dolphins Chargers pretty good, but it's
not like they were thrown in the end zone with
a chance to win it late. I mean the Commanders
and Cardinals was good, but it was just so gross,
as was the Saints and Titans. Buccaneers Vikings was okay,
but I mean I felt like in the Marquee games,
they really didn't deliver, did they.

Speaker 2 (01:22:09):
We We had some one possession games, one score games.
As I was watching the red zone, so I thought
for sure we were gonna have, you know, some buzzer beaters,
some field goals make or miss it at the end
they are and decide a game. And never never really
came down to that. Even with the games that were
that were close, like as you mentioned Miami and the Chargers.

(01:22:30):
Chargers never got in a field goal range, never came
to that final kick, you know, like even the Saints
and the Titans. But there were very pedestrian teams out there,
very bland teams that just didn't catch my eye, even
like the Falcons Panthers. I don't know if you watch
any of that game. I told you Bryce s young,
Remember I turned on him real quickly. I'm just it's

(01:22:52):
gonna be a tough year for him. He's got a
lot of growing paints before he does anything, you know.

Speaker 3 (01:22:57):
Yeah, and he doesn't have a ton of weapons around.

Speaker 2 (01:23:00):
No.

Speaker 1 (01:23:00):
No, all we had heard about with the Panthers were,
oh my gosh, the draft capital that they gave up
to get him. But they're gonna be fine because he's
such a difference maker. But he turned it over a
couple of times.

Speaker 3 (01:23:12):
I thought.

Speaker 1 (01:23:14):
I thought Atlanta was loaded with playmakers. They just didn't
get in the ball enough. I mean, ten carries for
b John Robinson for just fifty six yards. But do
you notice the first time he touched the ball touchdown?
I mean, at least as right.

Speaker 2 (01:23:26):
I saw that play. Yeah, that was awesome. I mean
it's just gonna be a matter of time before he
starts being the I mean, he's the feature back. But
what Algiers got the two touchdowns instead of him?

Speaker 1 (01:23:37):
You know, so real quick, then let's hit two games
that we haven't talked about yet, and let's see if
we can get anything out of it.

Speaker 3 (01:23:45):
Forty nine Ers thirty Steelers seven.

Speaker 1 (01:23:48):
Anything outside of Steeler fans just absolutely angry is all
get out because of how dominated they were. I'll be
honest with you, Arnie. If there's one thing I learned,
maybe got a little bit two over my skis with
a Kenny Pickett. Heype thinking Pittsburgh's gonna be okay, and
maybe my concerns over brock Party should should be squelched
just a little bit.

Speaker 2 (01:24:07):
He looked great well as of Pittsburgh. I'm not I
never bought into that whole thing anyway. I know people,
oh Tom Wins a genius and love well pickets. So
you know, he was again asking to do way too much.
He's not that type of quarterback. He needs more weapons.
They didn't run the ball. When they're not running the ball,
picket can't do him by himself. Brock Party though, again

(01:24:28):
not the big numbers, but enough to go ahead and
just you know, be uh, just be a leader, you know,
just be a guy that's gonna get him down. Don't
have the big turnover, no interceptions, two touchdowns. He's doing
exactly what they tell him to do. He's gonna keep
that starting job. It's unbelievable.

Speaker 1 (01:24:47):
Yeah, it's pretty amazing. And then you know it's it's
a game that's not gonna get talked about too much.
But Jaguars thirty one Colts twenty one had.

Speaker 2 (01:24:56):
To come from behind him do that. It was twenty
one to seventeen for a while.

Speaker 1 (01:25:00):
Any Richardson looked really good.

Speaker 2 (01:25:02):
Yes he did.

Speaker 1 (01:25:02):
I'm just worried he's not gonna make it through the season.

Speaker 2 (01:25:04):
I saw him get knocked down or knocked out or whatever.

Speaker 1 (01:25:07):
It was zone. Yeah, he was down. I ended up
running the ball ten times for forty yards in a touchdown.
I know that it's the Jalen Hurts way, right. You
see him run like a full back where he can
lower his shoulder and take on a defender. I saw
about Groppolo almost got destroyed today trying to do the
same thing. I know it seems soft, but Arnie we

(01:25:29):
if you're the Colts, you got yeah, I'd be preaching
that guy get down because you get hurt, you don't
get to get your seat time. I mean, we're gonna
get If these quarterbacks keep trying to be Jalen and
lower their shoulder, we're gonna get dudes. That's careers are
gonna get ended by some of these shots they're taken.
You know you won't see Tua doing that.

Speaker 2 (01:25:47):
No, well, I can't imagine their game plan was to
have him throw the ball thirty seven times and run
for another's head more forty seven times. He's gonna get hit. Possibly, No,
I'm and that wasn't part of my game plan coming
into this game, that's for sure.

Speaker 1 (01:26:04):
All right. So there's a few games that we really
hadn't hit on two and too deeply on the show tonight.

Speaker 2 (01:26:10):
But as hart Wards wasn't anything great, I mean good percentage,
but you know, didn't put up any big numbers either,
I mean, if.

Speaker 1 (01:26:17):
You want to be honest about it, because you're big numbers.
So obviously Tua had the big day with four sixty
six and three touchdowns and a pick, but they were
really there wasn't really many other jaw dropping numbers. I
mean two twenty and two touchdowns for brock Perty because I've.

Speaker 2 (01:26:33):
Had over three hundred who did Cousins.

Speaker 1 (01:26:37):
Right, but he only had the one touchdown pass they
lost the game. Matthew Stafford was over three hundred but
didn't have a touchdown pass, so I mean, Deshaun Watson
was short of what two hundred, So I mean, I
don't really know if you want to get too caught
up in the stat lines today, but it just looked
like looked like it was kind of gross in some
places with the quarterback play. I'm looking at you, Chicago,

(01:26:57):
and it looked like it was pretty smooth in some
place with a quarterback play. I mean, oh, by the way,
speaking of stat guys, I forgot one. Your boy Mac
Jones threw it for three hundred and sixteen yards in
three touchdowns.

Speaker 2 (01:27:08):
Not bad, I keep wining the papoo, but he did
a really good job on leading them in the comeback
and almost had the a chance to pull out the victory.
So I think I got to give a little bit nervous,
a little bit nervous with the Patriots coming up, just
just a.

Speaker 1 (01:27:24):
Little bit your two and a half point favorite, according
to what I was seeing here on the week two
and a half? Is that what it was to me?
Double check that I scrolled through it for some reason
when when Todd was on and I was looking for
a bigger number and then I saw the Raiders. That
is too Yeah, I saw the Raiders and the Bills
are nine and a half for Buffalo. Buffalo hasn't played
a game yet, but let but yet. Bet online age

(01:27:46):
already has it at nine and a half for the Raiders,
who are one to know.

Speaker 2 (01:27:50):
By the way, when you ask me, would I rather
have two or Burrow or by the way, if we're
talking strictly numbers. I have two on of my fantasy team,
and I got Jalen Hurts on my fantasy team in
TUA two to one, out numbered him in numbers out
there aren't even close.

Speaker 3 (01:28:06):
And then Ferdcat points out I think this is good.

Speaker 1 (01:28:08):
It's a Chris. How many times does Arnie have to
make the fool out of you before you learn your lesson?
If Arnie says Tull will prove he's better than Burrow
this year, you should just shut up and listen. I mean,
how could I not a guy that's already been in
the Super Bowl and has played in two AFC Championship
games not just shut up and say you're right, Arnie
two is a better quarterback.

Speaker 3 (01:28:29):
I don't know where that would come from. By the
by the way, two hundred twenty.

Speaker 1 (01:28:32):
Million as well for Burrow, Holy smokes man, my guy
got paid last week.

Speaker 2 (01:28:37):
He did, and he also has a lot more weapons
around him, or at least he did, why a lot more?
He did have a lot more weapons around him, and
dua got hurt was on the pays for a record
break in your last year before he had all the concussions.
So if he just stays healthy look good, but he's
going to put up look at the numbers, Tyreek, hilp
it up. He said he wanted the two thousand yard

(01:28:58):
receiving season, and he's on pays four one thirty four
hundred yards for Ride out Loud.

Speaker 1 (01:29:04):
So let's say the show is every day, yes, and
not just tonight. Yes, you're still taking two Overburrow long term.

Speaker 2 (01:29:12):
I think I got it right now.

Speaker 1 (01:29:15):
Okay, I have this question that I want to ask.
I'll just shut up and listen for you. For a cat, Yeah,
team that looked amazing in Week one, but the bottom
could fall out allah. The Bears last year are a
really good example. The Titans last year are a pretty
good example. They beat the Raiders in Week one last

(01:29:36):
year and then never really were the same team the
rest of the season. Team that looked amazing in Week one, Arnie,
but you think the bottom could fall out on him? Well,
how about this team that won in Week one? Just
I mean, no one really looked amazing.

Speaker 2 (01:29:52):
It didn't. And it's really kind of too easy if
I just say, like the bucket years and watch out,
you know, the bottom could four fall out there or
something to that effect. So I just don't want to
go ahead and pick a bad team, you know that
could fall apart. But even though the Ravens won today,
not impressed at all, not at all. And I wouldn't

(01:30:14):
be surprised playing in that division if they fight it out,
just to go ahead make it into the playoffs. I've
been kind of changing my mind about the Ravens. Very
disappointed with the game they played today against the Texans.

Speaker 3 (01:30:25):
Why what disappointed you?

Speaker 2 (01:30:27):
Well, One, they struggled big time.

Speaker 3 (01:30:29):
Man, I mean the Texans defense was pretty good.

Speaker 2 (01:30:32):
Yeah, I'm a little surprised at that. Also, CJ. Stroud
played a little bit better than I that I thought
he was. I mean, the two for more yards than
Lamar Jackson did, which was absolutely incredible. And then Lamar
fumble the ball once or twice he had two fumbles. Right,
what a shocker that is. I've never seen them do
that before.

Speaker 1 (01:30:52):
So you're a little bit so which team did you
go with?

Speaker 2 (01:30:57):
Well, I said Baltimore. I think I looked won today
and that's what they were supposed to do.

Speaker 1 (01:31:03):
But I just okay, I didn't like it.

Speaker 2 (01:31:05):
Right, it wasn't in present to me at least all right.

Speaker 1 (01:31:08):
You know what, It's interesting because I was wanting to
take the Cowboys on this. No, yeah, but I don't
think I can. I don't think I can right now.
How about Cleveland. I think Cleveland is a team that
had this incredible start today. I mean and it it
was gross. Kudos to every Browns fan who was able
to persevere through that. You held Joe Burrow to just

(01:31:30):
eighty two yards passing, he was sacked twice, was never comfortable.
You ran the ball extraordinarily well, and you, maybe, I
don't know, you may be helped to bring us the greatest,
the greatest self own that we've seen in the NFL
in quite a while. When Jamar Chase unfortunately had to
basically say, yeah, I'm mad at my team because they

(01:31:50):
didn't stand up for me after I called him an Elvis.

Speaker 9 (01:31:52):
Frustrating because I called the ass Elves and we just
lost as an LS.

Speaker 1 (01:31:55):
So I'm pissed on my part. I'm pissed on on that.
Like I say, man, we got miss opportunities. We didn't
capitalize on this shit we lost. That's that says bleeped,
and that is not bleeped. By the way, There's so
much I was good. There's been so much cursing in
the post. Did you see not to get off the subject,

(01:32:16):
but go ahead, did you see the Mississippi State coach?

Speaker 3 (01:32:20):
Oh yeah, the bomb was right there as playing as day.

Speaker 2 (01:32:25):
But nobody even could play that. I was looking at Twitter.
There wasn't one person that even meant maybe I was
only watching it, maybe, but there wasn't one person that said, hey,
you can't drop the f bob.

Speaker 1 (01:32:35):
Nobody.

Speaker 2 (01:32:36):
I don't think anybody really cares about that.

Speaker 1 (01:32:38):
No, I don't think so either, And in fact, I
think it adds a little bit of color to it
as well, so be like, oh, hey, so he really
cares about it.

Speaker 3 (01:32:46):
But with Cincinnati, I gotta say, Arnie.

Speaker 1 (01:32:49):
I think they're gonna be okay. I think they're gonna
be fine. But Cleveland. Cleveland to me is a team
where the fans are on cloud nine. They're off, they
should be right, they're one no, and Shawn Watson looked good.
They lost their right tackle still at times.

Speaker 2 (01:33:05):
Watson, how could you go against Cleveland, though, with the
way they look so good defensively, against the team that
you think as g you just said you think it's
going to be fine, And Joe Burrow couldn't even put
up one hundred yards passing that that's either they really
were off their game today the Bengals, or Cleveland's defense
is the best defense in the NFL. I mean, it's
great with the Cowboys. I don't know one one, what's

(01:33:28):
one or the other ones got to give I you know,
I think Cleveland's probably a lot better than Cincinnati just
falling apart. But we'll see.

Speaker 1 (01:33:38):
No, I think it's Cincinnati falling apart. I don't think
Cleveland's going to be that team this year. If they are,
I'd love it for their fans. And I'll be the
first one to tell you that I was wrong. But
I watch enough of that game to say Shaun Watson
still was just barely over fifty percent on his completions.
And sure they ran the ball well, but I'm not
so certain if a team goes in and shuts down

(01:33:59):
their run that they're gonna be able to win a
football game. And then I'll add to it, I don't
know people are gonna be able to shut down their run.
This is a great week. One kind of knee jerk
because Joe Burrow just never looked like himself.

Speaker 2 (01:34:11):
You know, I was curious. I never asked you what
you thought about your former quarterback Derek Carr over three
hundred yards?

Speaker 1 (01:34:17):
Oh, he ended up over three hundred yards?

Speaker 2 (01:34:19):
Yeah, thirty? Barely like three or oh five? You really
cann't tell by We'll get it the scores out there.
I thought it was an okay performance to start things
off as a Saint. I thought it was okay. That
was about it.

Speaker 1 (01:34:33):
Well, I would add this to watching that Derek Carr
Saints game a lot of it today. They the same
things that plagued Derek Carr in Vegas seemed to plague
him in Nolins today. Really, he wasn't very good in
the red zone, and I don't know why it was
the Saints. You know, it's funny because there was a
really bad call in this game where the officials blew

(01:34:54):
up play dead and the.

Speaker 3 (01:34:56):
Ball was out of his hand, right. I saw that
that was a bad call.

Speaker 1 (01:35:00):
But in all honesty, if they had anything in the
red zone, how almost said the Raiders. The Saints should
have won that game about twenty eight to fifteen. I mean,
they should have destroyed Tennessee today. So if I'm a
Saints fan, I take a lot of promise in that
that you should have easily won that game. And New
Orleans was a team much like many we saw today, Arnie.

(01:35:20):
It was like it was like all or nothing, right,
all or nothing. Either you could run the ball or
you couldn't. New Orleans couldn't run the ball today, and
like Cleveland could, Yeah, the Chargers could, New Orleans couldn't.
Their leading rusher was Jamal Williams, and obviously they're without
Alvin Kamara. So I didn't want to go too deep
on Derek Carr because I watched a lot of it

(01:35:40):
and I was rooting for him. He's got great chemistry, the.

Speaker 2 (01:35:43):
Weapons with the Raiders. I mean he had Waller Adams,
he had Josh Jacobs running back here he's you know,
right now it is just Williams. As you mentioned, He's
got good weapons though at the receiving with a with
a lave and Michael Thomas. If this guy's back, wow,
you know.

Speaker 1 (01:35:58):
What I mean?

Speaker 3 (01:36:00):
Sixty one yards?

Speaker 2 (01:36:00):
Yeah, today, it's a start. It's a start with him.
But if he's back to half of what it used
to be, then then car still won't have as many
weapons as he had with the Raiders.

Speaker 1 (01:36:10):
Well, and the fact that the race the Raiders just
didn't stay healthy last year, outside of outside of Davante Adams, right,
all their receivers were hurt. But I'm impressed the Saints
won that game whenever they lost the opening kickoff.

Speaker 2 (01:36:27):
Oh, I saw that they stole it from it?

Speaker 3 (01:36:28):
Is that the one?

Speaker 2 (01:36:29):
It was?

Speaker 3 (01:36:29):
Yeah, yeah, the Titans car for us to fumble on
the opening.

Speaker 2 (01:36:33):
Kick incredible, incredible.

Speaker 1 (01:36:35):
The fact that the Saints still won that game after
fumbling the opening kickoff should tell you all you need
to know. All right, when we come back, Arnie Teams,
that's stunk in Week one, but you're not giving up
on yet. Plus, we'll dive all into your tweets and
xes at Stinking Genius one. I'm gonna plank show. Everybody

team that stunk in Week one?

Speaker 2 (01:37:33):
Do you still believe in that was absolutely horrible that
I'm still saying, don't give up on them? You know,
I haven't learned my wesson. The Chicago Bears. I just
I thought that this was going to be a turnaround
here for them. Disappointed because I thought, you know, the
line was like one and a half, and I thought

(01:37:55):
maybe they could steal a victory at home against a
Green Bay team that still tried to fight themselves the
quarterback and they just got at one point, it was
like a twenty four to six game and they really
didn't have a chance to win that game at all.
But I'm not ready to give up on them in
that division, especially in that division, because I don't think
anybody's that super strong. Lions are obviously the class of it,

(01:38:16):
but I don't think everybody's super strong to go ahead
and just run through the Bears like that.

Speaker 3 (01:38:22):
What did you see from them that makes you still believe?

Speaker 2 (01:38:25):
I like Fields, I really I know I don't know
what to get in the hits, you know, to complete
more passes. He's so athletic, and I love when he
starts running. I just my goodness. And I thought they
were gonna be better pressure to the quarterback.

Speaker 1 (01:38:40):
I don't.

Speaker 2 (01:38:41):
I really don't know what happened here. I really don't.

Speaker 1 (01:38:43):
Couldn't run the football consistently outside of Justin Field, who
was I mean, honestly not bad. I mean, he just
doesn't have a lot of weapons.

Speaker 4 (01:38:53):
I was.

Speaker 1 (01:38:54):
I was told that they stole DJ Moore from the
Panthers two balls. But you know what's funny, this is
gonna end up being one of those teams that, even
if they're you know, zero to two or one and three,
Fields is going to have a couple of those games
this year where like he throws for three hundred and
runs for almost one hundred, and you're like, look there
he is. He just can't do it consistently right now,
So I don't. I'm not necessarily against you on that one.

(01:39:18):
You're probably against me on mine.

Speaker 2 (01:39:21):
Who would that be.

Speaker 3 (01:39:21):
I'm not punting on the Steelers yet.

Speaker 2 (01:39:24):
Yeah, I'm not. I wasn't even on boarded with the
Steelers to begin.

Speaker 1 (01:39:27):
With But it'll be an interesting showdown next weekend because
the Browns and the Steelers play in Pittsburgh. You know,
Pittsburgh opens up back to back weeks at home. Maybe
the Niners much better than people like myself were even
giving them credit for. But you shouldn't be thirty to
seven better on the road than than a team that

(01:39:50):
felt like they had some momentum going into the season.
I have learned I'm never going to listen to you
about preseason mattering. Oh jeez, yeah, never again. No longer
call it the free season either. But yeah, everyone's seemed
to be good in the preseason is terrible.

Speaker 2 (01:40:03):
By the way, are there any must wins in a
week two of the of the season, Well, I do,
because you're brought up the Steelers one day. If you
start off olling two, you know, the odds significantly go down. Well,
they'll go down lower to make the playoffs. We've been
spoon fed that for a long long.

Speaker 3 (01:40:18):
Well, but that's also a little bit skewed now.

Speaker 2 (01:40:20):
Because it's a sixty game season. Now, it's a seventeen
game now, and there's more playoff teams. Correct, that's also true,
But Pittsburgh loses it home next weekend. That'd be they
dropped their first two games at home. Now, that could
be a little bit tough to overcome when you've wasted
two home games and not gotten a win out of that.
So that's also the part that would conserve me if

(01:40:42):
I'm a Steeler fan.

Speaker 1 (01:40:44):
Since nineteen seventy, only nine point five percent of NFL
teams have made the season after starting zero to two.
Like Arnie said, we've been spoon feded. But I'd be
curious to know what those numbers look like now since
we've expanded over the last few weeks.

Speaker 2 (01:41:00):
Though, when you lose your first two games at home,
that Jesus numbers gotta collapse.

Speaker 1 (01:41:04):
That's absolutely absolutely implode. All right, let's get a couple
of tweets.

Speaker 2 (01:41:08):
That's why, you know, I just one more thing. That's
why I think if the Dolphins win in New England
next weekend, they're going to be two and o with
both those games on the road. I believe it gives
them the right the chance to be the number one
seed in the AFC because of that.

Speaker 1 (01:41:22):
Yeah, I mean, it's just it's possibility. Arnie. I want
to see your hopes get as high as they possibly
can on this team right now should be awesome. Scotty
Rights on Twitter at stinking genius one. I'm at playing
show no QB drafted from Ohio State, not the ones
they claim are worth a damn In the NFL. The
Bears will suck with fields period. The inn ouch Wow,

(01:41:46):
Jimmy V.

Speaker 3 (01:41:47):
Wrights.

Speaker 1 (01:41:48):
In the last nineteen games, the Patriots have scored thirty
points a shocking one time. Yeah, the ice Crows thinner
for coach Belichick. I just still can't fathom that.

Speaker 2 (01:41:59):
You know, I guess people don't believe that he's really
on thin ice. Look, there's just no anybody on that
offense that just really scares the daylights. Honey, you're not
saying whoa Well, you're keeping me up late at night.
We got to figure out how to shut this guy down.
They just don't have anybody as dynamic as that, you know.

Speaker 3 (01:42:19):
Right, exactly all right?

Speaker 1 (01:42:20):
One final time tonight, Steve Sager comes rolling in at
the Tirack dot Com studios to get us caught up
on everything in the world of sports.

Speaker 10 (01:42:27):
What's up, Steve, Well, since the Raiders moved to Las Vegas,
they are undefeated against the Denver Broncos seven and ohsh
including the win seventeen sixteen today at Denver. And who
was the last Raider quarterback not named Derek Carr to
get the Raiders of victory here today? It was Jimmy Garoppolo.
You see two short touchdown passes for him to Jacoby Myers,

(01:42:48):
including the go ahead TD with about six and a
half minutes to go. It had been a decade since
the Raiders quarterback other than Carr led the team to
a win. That was Matt McGloin in twenty thirteen.

Speaker 2 (01:43:00):
Wow.

Speaker 10 (01:43:01):
The other Raider quarterbacks had been zero to eleven since.

Speaker 2 (01:43:04):
The Penn State quarterback Matt McGloin.

Speaker 1 (01:43:06):
I believe he was. Yes.

Speaker 10 (01:43:08):
Wow, So the Denver Broncos in these recent years against
the Division three and sixteen, AP says the only team
worse in that span within its division the Jets, who
play tomorrow night, Jets two and six.

Speaker 2 (01:43:22):
I can't wait for that. Sixteen will be through the
roof for that game.

Speaker 10 (01:43:25):
Yeah, it's too bad. Jason Smith, Jets fan, is not
Oh he is. He is on weeknights and they're opening
the season on a weeknight. I wonder if the Jets
are going to come into conversation at all tomorrow night
on these airwaves. Dallas won forty to nothing at the
Giants tonight. Tony Pollard two short touchdown runs. Cowboys led
twenty six zip in the second quarter. The Dallas defense

(01:43:46):
with seven sacks. They blocked a field goal for a TD.
There was a pick six Giants with three turnovers couple
of miss field goals. Miami won at the Chargers thirty
six thirty four. Now Austin Eckler did have sixteen carries
one hundred and seventeen yards a score. Joshua Kelly of
the Chargers sixteen carries ninety one yards in a score,
but Miami had a key forty one yard field goal

(01:44:07):
at the end of the first half after a thirty
yard pass interference penalty, and Miami won it on a
late TV pass to tyreek Hill, who had eleven receptions
two hundred and fifteen yards two scores. For those who
weren't with us earlier, tyreek Hill in his career has
over one thousand yards receiving just against the Chargers sixty

(01:44:27):
first downs in the sixty minute game. Rams were trailing
at Seattle at the half thirteen to seven, and then
thirty to thirteen rams is the final. Matthew Stafford three
hundred thirty four yards passing in the loss. Bobby Wagner
nineteen total tackles, but the Seattle offense just one hundred
and eighty yards. Philadelphia led sixteen nothing at New England
in the first quarter, including a pick six. Halftime lead

(01:44:49):
was sixteen fourteen. Eagles win at twenty five twenty. Jake
Elliott four for four on field goals, including hitting from
forty eight, fifty one and fifty six yards, and this
on a day where Dione Andre Swift had one carry
and Rashad Penny was not active. Green Bay won at
Chicago thirty eight twenty. Jordan Love three touchdown passes. Packers
led seven to six late in the second quarter. It

(01:45:10):
was twenty four to six in the third. Justin fields
in the loss one touchdown pass two turnovers. He was
sacked four times. Cleveland beat Cincinnati twenty four to three
over one hundred yards rushing for Nick Chubb. Joe Burrow
held to eighty two yards passing t Higgins eight targets,
no receptions. San Francisco won thirty to seven at Pittsburgh.

(01:45:31):
Christian McCaffrey one hundred and fifty two yards rushing in
a score, Brandon au two touchdown catches. Baltimore beat Houston
twenty five to nine, but Ravens running back JK. Dobbins
is out for the year. With the torn Achilles wins
for Atlanta and Jacksonville for Washington and Tampa Bay, which
won at Minnesota twenty to seventeen. Even though Kirk Cousins
had three hundred forty four yards passing and two scores,

(01:45:53):
he had three turnovers as well. New Orleans edged Tennessee
sixteen to fifteen. Derek Carr three hundred and five yards
passing for this Saints, one touchdown, one interception. Novak Djokovic
won the US Open. Tyler Reddick took the NASCAR Race.
Michigan State suspended football coach Mel Tucker without pay while
it investigates sexual harassment claims. Germany won the Feebo World Cup.

(01:46:13):
USA basketball lost the bronze medal game in overtime to Canada.
Anthony Edwards did have twenty four points, Austin Reeves twenty
three points off the bench, but Brandon Ingram of the
US was out again due to illness, and center Jaron
Jackson did not play today due to illness, although let's
be honest, he had a very poor tournament in Major
League Baseball. San Francisco beat Colorado six to three tonight.

(01:46:34):
The Yankees did not have a hit until the eleventh
inning and still won the game. In thirteen against Milwaukee
four to three. Tampa Bay over Seattle six to three.
The Mariners hold the final AL wildcard spot half game
over Texas. Rangers won their game nine to four against Oakland.

Speaker 1 (01:46:50):
Back to you, Steve, have a great week, budding.

Speaker 3 (01:46:52):
Talk to you next Saturday night.

Speaker 1 (01:46:54):
Let's hit some tweets before we get to I'm afraid
to play audio again. By the way, I'm I'm scared
I might not ever play audio again on this show.
Holy smokes. Thank you, Lorena. You saved the day. The
Queen saved the day. Brandon Truffle went and got on
all those people. It said, bleeped on the audio. I'm
just telling you right now, thank you, Lorena. I'll hit

(01:47:15):
some of these tweets before we get out of here.
Jeff writes, I couldn't help it chuckle every time I
was watching the Browns Bengals game and DeShawn Watson would
be waving his towel.

Speaker 3 (01:47:26):
There was some plays like the scramble for the touchdown.

Speaker 1 (01:47:28):
He looked really good, but he did.

Speaker 2 (01:47:30):
But he's ever gonna be the Deshaun Watson of all
I can see that. It's it's I don't know what
he has to go to put up numbers like that,
or maybe he needs more weapons. But I don't think
he's ever gonna get to that point.

Speaker 1 (01:47:40):
I don't think he will either, mister Nobody. Right, listen
to part of the Raiders game today. I was priced
out of the Sunday ticket, as was I, buddy, as
was I. But I'll say this, writes mister Nobody. Regardless
of what may happen the rest of the season, at
least Raider fans can know they're not the worst team

(01:48:01):
in the league. I mean, after Week one that might
be what the Giants, Steelers, Cardinals nearly one today? Yeah, right,
the whole thing, all of those, all of those leagues,
like King of the Mountain, you were almost domed because
everyone took Washington this week.

Speaker 2 (01:48:17):
Is this your first year not getting the Sunday ticket?
Is that what you did?

Speaker 3 (01:48:21):
Correct? That's right?

Speaker 1 (01:48:22):
But you have the red zone, right, I have the
red zone, and I'm going with that, and I'm going
to count on my local TV provider. And I only
have four channels right now because NBC is fighting with
TV in my area, so I don't have NBC, which
means I have to pay for a subscription to Peacock
to watch Sunday night football.

Speaker 2 (01:48:44):
Wow.

Speaker 1 (01:48:44):
It's the dumbest thing ever, man, it's been, and it's
been going on since July. I can't even Everyone's like, oh,
usey yup, you just use the yup. No, no, you
got to pay for the damn app for something that's
free on TV. So yeah, good.

Speaker 2 (01:48:56):
Was there any problems? I mean you you've had the
red Zone for a while, so you didn't have to
order it, right?

Speaker 4 (01:49:01):
No?

Speaker 3 (01:49:01):
No, no, well I did have to reorder it.

Speaker 11 (01:49:04):
Oh.

Speaker 1 (01:49:04):
I wasn't like yours where you found out that you
had it. Yeah, you were fighting with the people at
the cable company. I realized I didn't have it, so
I had to call an or. I don't know.

Speaker 3 (01:49:14):
That might cost three hundred dollars, who knows, but I.

Speaker 2 (01:49:16):
Was gonna say, you should have found out. It may
be better to do it the other way. But I
looked at the numbers anyway, they're expensive. Oh my goodness, geez.

Speaker 1 (01:49:24):
Yeah, yeah, I mean, here's the funny thing about it.
More than anything else. I hadn't heard anyone complain today,
did you know?

Speaker 2 (01:49:32):
I think everything went off without a hitch, to be honest.

Speaker 1 (01:49:34):
Yeah, so that's a good start, Eric, right. I know
Arnie's picks are tough, but on the bright side, is
it as bad as our boy Jason mcintile McIntyre quote
hurts is better than Mahomes. Packers and Cowboys won't win
ten games combined. I'm giving up. I'm giving up on
any of Jason's hot takes, despite the including the Jets

(01:49:55):
giving up points.

Speaker 2 (01:49:57):
You need to be fired. If you come up with
a hot take and it's just so off the wall
and it doesn't happen, you need to be fired right away.
I think, at least I think you know, yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:50:05):
I mean, you're wanting to fire everyone until you get
to the point where I think you're the only person
working pretty much. Mom, Roberta asks a fair question. Did
you feel as nauseous as I did after the New
York Trolls game? Are major changes coming soon?

Speaker 2 (01:50:22):
I was nauseous, to be honest with you, I didn't
know what it was. I thought it was just indigestion
because I I ate a whole pepperoni pizza by myself.
But no, I was sick over the whole thing, to
be honest, Yeah I did. My wife went out and
I just while she was gone, I ordered myself a
pizza and ate it.

Speaker 1 (01:50:42):
Jason, I can't and won't believe in the Chargers as
long as the analytics boob Brandon Scaly as their head coach.

Speaker 2 (01:50:54):
Why they're coming after him? Huh?

Speaker 3 (01:50:56):
Well they should, they should. That was a rough one today.

Speaker 1 (01:50:59):
That was And to be a defensive guy, to be
a defensive guy, right, and the whole mindset is defense, defense, defense,
And you have that happen to you when you bring
in a new coordinator, right, just easy.

Speaker 2 (01:51:15):
You know what one team that won today we talked
about him a little bit. But the one team that
won today that's getting the least amount of respect. And
they won on the road. I mean, I know a
lot of teams won the road. The Rams. You still
don't buy into them. Stafford had over three hundred yards.
They would have to Seattle been dumping the Rams a little,
I know, I know, But what do you mean?

Speaker 3 (01:51:36):
I don't buy into them.

Speaker 1 (01:51:37):
I'm sitting there telling you every week I think they
might be okay, and you're like, oh, they're terrible, they
might finishing last year. I didn't buy Arizona, wasn't there
Now the sudden you're asking me why I don't buy
into them.

Speaker 2 (01:51:46):
Well, I did buy. I don't buy into Seattle. That's
why I said that. I but I am surprised that
the Rams were able to win that even though they
were down thirteen to seven at that time.

Speaker 1 (01:51:55):
Uh calibern at that? Damn bear right, chentlemen. I think
it's I'm for both teams that play in the state
of Maryland to get out of that state. Two cursed stadiums,
one with twenty five years of below average teams and
the other is losing players to injuries. Even the mascot
was injured a few years back. Yeah, Jake, the JK.

(01:52:19):
Dobbins injury. Holy smokes. I mean, that's a guy that
just can't catch a break. And everyone every year it
seems like, oh JK. Dobbins, fantasy sleep or keep an
eye on him, and every year he ends up getting
hurt and this year is no different.

Speaker 2 (01:52:31):
Just does that mean they're gonna get Jonathan Taylor.

Speaker 1 (01:52:33):
Now, was that or what? I don't know. They have
a decent running back depth now you didn't really see
it today, But I don't know. That's a really good question, Arnie.
I don't know if anyone's gonna get Jonathan Taylor. I
don't know if anyone's gonna be able to make a
deal because I think Ersee wants to keep them. The
only other two running backs they have are Gus Edwards

(01:52:56):
and Justice Hill. And I like Justice Hill in college
and I've had Edwards win me some fantasy games. But
if you're a super Bowl contender, I don't know if
those can be your guys, right.

Speaker 2 (01:53:06):
Right, No, I agree with you. That's I didn't know
if anybody had a long term contract after him. If not,
maybe Jonathan Taylor's gonna have to be that one guy. Yeah,
oh no, absolutely. And then if you can't write off
the season when you gave O Lamar Jackson all that
money and you know all that and now you're coming
back for the first year, you're gonna write off the
season but you have no running back.

Speaker 1 (01:53:25):
Oh no. I think it's going to be fascinating to
see if they want to take that trip, take that
potential move and go get a guy like Jonathan Taylor
if they feel they're where they need to be. All Right,
we got a break. We're up against it. Arnie's pickser
coming up next. Got a couple of good college tweets
to get to before Arnie gives you all of his winners.

Speaker 3 (01:53:43):
Next, Fox Sports Radio. All right, it's time for the
progressive play of the day.

Speaker 1 (01:53:49):
Throw it back to throw, big down, kill one, it
cuts down Tyrek Hell, what a throw and catch right
on the money. One on one, Pyreek just runs by him.
And what a throw by Tua.

Speaker 2 (01:54:04):
Wow.

Speaker 1 (01:54:06):
Four hundred and sixty six yards passing from Tua one
of his three touchdowns, one of two touchdowns for Tyreek Hill.
That was the progressive play of today, brought to you
by Progressive Insurance making buddling easy and affordable. That's progressive.

(01:54:29):
and save at Progressive dot Com. All right, stinking genius,
take it away.

Speaker 2 (01:54:34):
All right, give me a little music, put me in
the mood, because I gotta tell you it has not
been good for me. Week one, in college. I went
six and seven last week three.

Speaker 3 (01:54:43):
Three and one.

Speaker 2 (01:54:43):
Yes, I did that three and one. So I am
nine ten and one in college Week one of the
NFL four and seven, four and and seven. But at
least I had the Dolphins, right. I gotta tell you that,

(01:55:06):
let's get to the college games. I'm gonna take Penn
State minus the fifteen and a half on the road
in Illinois. Give me South Carolina way too many points.
Plus twenty six and a half at Georgia. I'll take
Tennessee minus seven on the road in Florida. Give me
LSU minus to ten against that junior college out there
in Mississippi State too many points. Like Todd Ferman told jump,
I'll take twenty three and a half of Colorado State

(01:55:29):
over Colorado. Give me Eddie Garcia's Fresno minus three against
Arizona State and my Wildcats? Are you stole victory from
us last week? I'll lay the seventeen against UTEP over
to the NFL. I'm gonna take my Falcons plus to
one against Green Bay. We'll see what happens there. Give

(01:55:49):
me the Bills minus.

Speaker 4 (01:55:54):
Eight.

Speaker 2 (01:55:54):
Excuse me, ten nine against half is what I see.
I got ten Bills minus ten and verse your raiders.
I'm gonna take the Lions lay in five and a
half against Seattle. We'll see how that one turns out.
The Bears, who did I have the Bears playing? You
have to look that one up for me. The Tampa

(01:56:19):
Bay minus three against the Bears, giving my Dolphins minus
two against the Patriots. I like the Saints lay and
three against Carolina and Cleveland minus one against Pittsburgh. So
there you have my picks, two of them as you please,
no longer strictly for entertainment purposes only.

Speaker 3 (01:56:37):
Why do you say no longer for entertainment purposes only?

Speaker 2 (01:56:40):
Are you didn't say they were entertainment purposes only? But
not anymore?

Speaker 1 (01:56:44):
But are you betting them? Are you playing them?

Speaker 2 (01:56:46):
Seventeen parlay? Sooner or later? I got hit all seven teams,
don't I?

Speaker 1 (01:56:52):
No, that's that's not really how this works, unfortunately. But
congratulations on getting close to five hundred, right. I still
don't know about that Kansas pick. I think that's some
fuzzy math.

Speaker 2 (01:57:05):
Far Ford seven in the NFL is embarrassing. Yes, it's terrible.
Boss listened to us. He'd fire me.

Speaker 1 (01:57:12):
Oh he listens. Let me get some coach reaction from
after the games today, including the late game, because well
there's really not much to talk about when you win
a game forty to zero.

Speaker 3 (01:57:25):
But here was Mike McCarthy afterwards.

Speaker 1 (01:57:28):
A lot of good things tonight. The build off of
is really but I mean it is one win.

Speaker 6 (01:57:32):
It's your first division win, your first road win, and
all those are important because it's important to get that
first one under your belt.

Speaker 12 (01:57:37):
And Dak Prescott just the discipline of our team getting
up early, staying committed to it, and not getting ahead
of ourselves, all three phases. I don't know really what
I have this for. I think this belongs to the defense.
These guys off, it's the line made it easy, a
fun game. Wait to start this season off?

Speaker 1 (01:57:53):
Yeah, listen, NBC. Stop giving guys footballs. They don't need them,
they don't want them. Nobody puts them on their on
their main told they throw him into the crowd or
it's like, I don't know what I have this football for.
But he's right the Dallas defense, aren't he deserves that
game ball for Well, I've seen it today.

Speaker 2 (01:58:08):
Absolutely they were. They were better defense than San Francisco.
Matter of fact, can you imagine Cowboys San Francisco NFC championship.

Speaker 1 (01:58:17):
How great would that be?

Speaker 8 (01:58:20):
Be?

Speaker 2 (01:58:20):
Awesome?

Speaker 1 (01:58:21):
Be pretty good? Uh, Brock speaking of the forty nine ers,
Brock Purty. Uh talking about Patrick Peterson.

Speaker 2 (01:58:27):
The second touchdown on the right side the deep ball?

Speaker 6 (01:58:30):
Is that on Patrick Peterson?

Speaker 1 (01:58:32):
Yeah, and that one.

Speaker 10 (01:58:33):
I was like, all right, that felt good, but uh
it was.

Speaker 3 (01:58:36):
It was good his competitor.

Speaker 2 (01:58:37):
I have nothing but respect for Patrick Peterson and everything
that he does.

Speaker 1 (01:58:40):
So yeah, Patrick Peterson was was wearing it a little
bit because of his criticism where he talked to trash
about Brock Party this last.

Speaker 3 (01:58:51):
Week and right Party made him pay.

Speaker 13 (01:58:54):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (01:58:54):
Speaking of making him pay, Miles Garrett felt like that
the elf comment by Jamar Chase added a little bit
more juice to the Browns.

Speaker 6 (01:59:01):
I mean, I guess it gives you a little little
chip on your shoulder, some some in the back of
your mind. But I ons had too much of an impact.
I only saw him once and that was in passing.
So if I saw him after the game, I would
I would assays some mon, it's.

Speaker 2 (01:59:15):
Just the elf, or wasn't that bad of a knock?
You know what I mean?

Speaker 1 (01:59:20):
Here's justin Jefferson on what the Vikings need to fix.

Speaker 9 (01:59:24):
You know, things out there that that was left on
the field, you know, just errors that we made to
hurt ourselves. Uh So we just got to fix those,
you know, minor errors, and I feel like, you know,
the outcome of the game would be way better.

Speaker 1 (01:59:39):
We'll see, We'll see they get Arizona next week. And
then Mike McDaniel on that Dolphins fan base.

Speaker 13 (01:59:45):
All fan bases kind of lose their mind tweak one
and it's totally understandable. But you have all of this
build up and it's the first game, and you can
you can really go sideways with your motions when things
don't work out your way.

Speaker 1 (02:00:03):
Oh I hope he listened to this show tonight. Definitely
have gone sideways with your emotion. Have a great week, Arnie.
This week Big Ben Mallor is coming up next for
the entire crew and the Sager and Lorena and Brandon.

Speaker 3 (02:00:17):
I'm plank. We'll see you next week on Fox.
