Speaker 1 (00:01):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
Yes, living the dream once again. Here on a huge
NFL Sunday, Hartman and Ornberger with you. This is Fox Sports.
We're Red Zone Radio and we are broadcasting live from
the tyrack dot com studios. Tyrack dot com. We're gonna
help get you there an unmatched selection FATS re shipping

(00:26):
dot com the way tire buying should be. Eight games
about to kick off. Here's the list. Raiders at the Bills,
Ravens at the Bengals, Chiefs at the Jags, Chargers at
the Titans, Packers at the Falcons, Seahawks at the Lions,
Colts at the Texans, Bears at the Buccaneers. And I

(00:46):
want to start rich talking about this Chiefs game obviously, Yeah,
the Super Bowl champions, coming off that opening game loss
to the Lions. They will have Travis Kelcey and Chris
Jones available. We found out even if you have the
best core back in the league, you can't win consistently
without your second and third best players, which are Kelsey

(01:07):
and Jones. But they'll be back in action today. I
will say this though about this game because everyone's gonna say,
all right, Chiefs are gonna be back. Don't sell this
Jacksonville team short. This is a team that one on
the road against the Colts last week. Anthony Richardson had
a very excellent debut for the Colts, and this Jags

(01:28):
team now knows how to win yep. And they won
that game by ten points. So they'll be at home today.
Chiefs obviously a slight favorite in this game on the road.
But don't sell the Jags short. I'm with you. I'm
with you.

Speaker 3 (01:42):
I think that both of these teams are obviously hungry,
but for very different reasons.

Speaker 2 (01:47):
The Chiefs.

Speaker 3 (01:48):
The Chiefs want to make up for what happened on
the Thursday night opener, and you just mentioned it. They
have two of their star players, both offensively and defensively,
back the Jacksonville Jaguars. They are looking for revenge from
the playoff loss because a lot of people remember it
as this heroic knife for Patrick Mahomes. But the Chiefs
got a little help with some situations in that game.

(02:11):
I mean the officiating. There were some calls that obviously
went decidedly Chiefs. And so you look at the Jags
and they say, hey, we went toe to toe with
the champs last year and we gave them all they
could handle. I really feel like this is a much
closer matchup than a lot of people, which would have
you think, all.

Speaker 2 (02:29):
Right, Jacks, we'll have the ball first offense. We will
keep our eye on that game. Another game that is
a big game this morning is the Ravens at the
Bengals last week. Yeah, Joe Burrow eighty two yards passing
on thirty one attempts. To give you a little clue
on this one, that is the fewest yards passing for
any NFL quarterback with at least twenty pass attempts since

(02:51):
twenty twelve. It was a disaster. He was under siege
from that front wall Miles Garrett and company of the
Cleveland Browns, and oh he's going up against this Ravens team.
This you know again, you look at the Bengals, there
might pick before the season go the Super Bowl. I'm
not quite sure what happened. They were completely discombobulated in
Week one. This is the one thing Rich I know

(03:13):
you talked about this yesterday on your show, is it's
hard to judge Week one good or bad? Right, you know?
So many reactions of Week two is what we saw
in Week one, and then all of a sudden we'll
see an entirely different team. But with the Bengals, I mean,
they really got work last week. They did, they absolutely did.

Speaker 3 (03:32):
I it's shocking in some ways what happened to the Bengals,
especially when you rewind back to seasons ago when Joe
Burrow saved the Bengals seasons, getting sacked nine times in
that playoff game against the Tennessee Titans and still found
a way to win. But he had a slow start
last season out the gate. Joe Burrow throw five interceptions

(03:54):
in to start the twenty twenty two season, and then
obviously course corrected and the Bengals were a good team.
He played well throughout this season. We'll see if he
can come back and have a better day today. I
will say this, You're playing against a banged up Ravens team.
Left tackle Ronnie Stanley, center Tyler Linderbaum, Marlon Humphrey, their cornerback,
and safety Marcus Williams are all out for this game.

(04:16):
Mark Andrews one of the favorite passing targets for Lamar Jackson.
He's banged up as well. He said on Thursday, god willing,
I'll be active for this game. So he's given it
a go. He's active. And then also JK. Dobbins went
out with an achilles tear. So your thinn already. Week two.

(04:37):
If you're the Baltimore Ravens.

Speaker 2 (04:39):
The Raiders are on the road against the Bills, and
the Raiders are driving on their opening drive. They just
got a big run. They're about to I think about
on the twenty yard line of the Bills on this
opening drive. Bill's a prohibitive favorite at home. Everyone feels
they'll bounced back after that disastrous loss of the Aaron
Rodgers lists New York Jets last week. I'm not so sure.
This was one of my best plays of the week.

(05:00):
I don't know if the Raiders can win at Buffalo,
but I think they're gonna keep this game close. And
Jimmy Garoppolo again, he doesn't pass the eyeball test. The
Raiders have just scored touchdown. Raiders Adams boom just like
that on their opening drive. The Raiders are the first
one on the board. They made it look easy.

Speaker 3 (05:19):
Okay, so play action fake to Jacobs and then I
mean Garoppolo spins and fires to number seventeen DeVante Adams,
who just trots past defenders on his way for six.

Speaker 2 (05:31):
That's the way to start a ballgame on the road.
Jimmy Garoppolo again doesn't pass the eyeball test, but when
you look at the numbers, they don't lie. Seventh highest
winning percentage of any starting quarterback in the history of
the NFL a career pass a rating of one hundred.
His problem has been staying on the field. So the Raiders,
when you go on the road and you get the

(05:52):
ball first and you go down and score a touchdown,
you send a message extra point is good. So seven nothing,
Las Vegas opening up and Buffalo and you know, going
back to the Bills and the turnover machine that Josh
Allen has been, and it's only gotten worse the last
couple of years without Brian Dable holding his hand. I
know a lot of people thought, oh, the Bills will

(06:13):
bounce back this week. I'm not so sure. I think
Buffalo's got some problems right now.

Speaker 3 (06:17):
Well, look, I mean it starts with him, right. If
you don't have a great quarterback or a great quarterback
who's playing at his highest level, it really does hamper
your progress. Again, we're talking about two quarterbacks who had
lousy outings Week one. Obviously Joe Burrow. We were just
speaking about Josh Allen's another one. But they've been so
consistent that you have to imagine they're going to make

(06:39):
a bounce back. The problem is it's a different voice
in the headset. For Josh Allen. Dabole was his coach
who helped develop him, and then it turned over to
Ken Dorsey, who again is back this second season. You
expected to see even more continuity. But obviously that Monday
night game it did not go the Bill's way because
he threw three interceptions, turned over it again to the defense.

(07:01):
Was responsible for giving the Jets four second chance opportunities
throughout the night and that's what essentially led to the loss.
If he doesn't do that, the Bills win that game.

Speaker 2 (07:12):
Another game I picked yesterday, I love the Seahawks on
the road against the Lions. Again, everyone over plays Week one.
Seahawks looked awful in that home loss of the Rams.
Lions obviously getting the big road victory against the Chiefs
who were without Kelsey and Jones. Lions four and a
half point favorites today by the way opening drive for
the Seahawks are already in the Detroit red zone. Here's

(07:35):
my point with the Lions. And I know Chris Man
on the board is a big Lions fan. They're still
the Lions. You know, It's like the Chargers. I mean,
there's certain teams. Until you prove me wrong. The identity
of a certain franchise doesn't change my mind. Prove me wrong.
And I think the Lions they've had an extended week

(07:55):
because they had the early game on Week one. I
think the Seahawk bounce back today. So they have a
second and fourteen that are at Detroit's twenty three yard line.
I just gotta believe the Seahawks are not as bad
as we saw week one against the Rams.

Speaker 3 (08:09):
Yeah, I don't think they're going to be as bad,
but I do think the Detroit Lions are as good
as we saw in the opener. And remember they had
long rest before this game. You know, they get an
opportunity to watch all these teams compete over the weekend,
rest their bodies up for this matchup against the Seattle Seahawks,
so you had extra time to prepare, sit at home,
watch them play over the weekend. See what you like

(08:31):
what you don't like in terms of ways to attack them.
So this is going to be a very fresh Detroit
Lions team and it is going to be loud, loud
in that stadium. Who was it? It was one of
their defenders. Chris told the whole fan base to buy
baby blue ski mask.

Speaker 2 (08:50):
Is CJ.

Speaker 4 (08:50):
Gardner Johnson hitting the blue ski masks and so literally
Amazon sold out of them.

Speaker 3 (08:56):
The city of Detroit made a multi internet the national company.

Speaker 2 (09:01):
And do we have a touchdown for Seattle?

Speaker 5 (09:04):
We have a rushing touchdown from Anthony Richardson for the
Colts as well.

Speaker 2 (09:07):
All right, So Anthony Richardson, who looked really good in
his opening game loss against Jacksonville, getting the score for
the Colts early. By the way, we're off to a
roaring start right now. Remember last week we were like,
is anybody going to score today? We have no scoring
in those early games. The Seahawks have a first and
goal at the Lions line.

Speaker 3 (09:27):
Just caught a ball brought them down to the one
yard line, So first and goal there.

Speaker 2 (09:31):
Ravens Bengals and the Ravens now have a third and
four at the Bengals ten yard line. This is the
Ravens opening drive and Lamar Jackson looking to get a
first down to a little scrambling throws and they gotta
have first and goal at the one yard line. So
we're gonna get some scoring early. Yeah on the games,
no kidding. So there are flags everywhere.

Speaker 3 (09:52):
I think it must have been on It must have
been on the Seattle offense, so they might have gotten
backed off.

Speaker 2 (09:58):
Yeah, there it goes. Yeah, have first and goal now
at the six yard line instead of the one. Meanwhile,
the Buccaneers have a fourth and four at the Bears
seven yard line, so I'm going to guests that are
gonna settle for a field goal. Yes, a field goal
attempt coming up for the Buccaneers, and it is good.
So Tampa Bay with an early three to nothing lead.

(10:18):
All right, So we're off and running here Fox Sports
Red Zone Radio. We got so much more to come.
Don't go anywhere. You want to know the scores, you
want to know the stats, keep it right here on

Speaker 4 (11:11):
Richardson gonna take off on a quarterback drawl.

Speaker 1 (11:13):
He's at the ten, he's at the five, untouched the
end zone.

Speaker 5 (11:17):
Touchdown.

Speaker 2 (11:18):
Hi, ind Why Anthony Richardson a rushing touchdown from eighteen
yards out and the Colts at pron first blood? Yeah,
that's Colts Radio Network. And guess what. Anthony Richardson just
ran for another touchdown. Fifteen yarder, fourteen nothing Colts. They
jump on the Texans nine minutes to go in the

(11:39):
first quarter. This is Fox Sports, a red Zone radio.
We are live from the tire rack dot Com studio.
So the rookie out of Florida off and running today
on the road against the Houston Texans. All right, a
couple updates for you. The Ravens jump on the board
seven to nothing lead over the Bengals. That was a
touchdown run by Gus Edwards, who apparently bo You picked

(12:01):
them up in the fantasy football.

Speaker 5 (12:03):
Yes, I did, but unfortunately Ryan Berschinger also started Anthony Richardson, so.

Speaker 2 (12:07):
Oh boy, a tough one.

Speaker 3 (12:10):
Well, yeah, that is going to affect your ability to
win today because he's on pace to score eight touchdowns
on the ground today.

Speaker 2 (12:17):
At least, we still haven't even gotten to the end
of that first quarter. Meanwhile, the Seahawks get a touchdown
run from Kenneth Walker to take the early seven to
nothing lead over Chris's Detroit Lions. And again one of
my picks. You know, every once in a while, and
it's so rare for me that I get anything right
with my predictions, but I get a sense about this week. Yeah,

(12:38):
you actually remember that one year where I got on
a roll with picks. I had what was it, we
had like a lot of the week and I did
I think it was college, not pros, but I think
it was like eleven weeks in a row. I hit
it and it was like, im real. I was like, oh,
I am getting scared it because this this just doesn't happen.
The We're do for a good week.

Speaker 3 (12:56):
The worst part about it is you were just saying
it on radio and you weren't going to the window
with all these tickets.

Speaker 2 (13:00):
Because as soon as I would put money on it,
I know I'd lose. I just I'm just saying to
everyone's like, wow, you doubled down every week. I'm like, no,
that's never gonna happen. Yeah, all right. So the Bills
right now down seven to nothing to the Raiders. After
that Jimmy Garoppolo DeVante Adams touchdown pass, they have a
third and four at Vegas's nine yard line, so the

(13:22):
Bills looking to answer back quickly. Of course, the big
story this week was the Aaron Rodgers injury. Obviously, on
Monday night, I was unbelievable. Remember I was sitting here saying,
I have spectrum. Am I going to see that Monday
night game? I said, there's no way the NFL is
going to lose millions of viewers, and boom, what happened.
A deal was done. So I sit down, I'm ready
to go. Yeah, all excited, down goes ight. I knew

(13:44):
it was bad. As soon as he sat down, I'm
like he's done. It ended up being a great game
in the end.

Speaker 3 (13:49):
Josh Allen, by the way, on third and three, just
got away from some of the Las Vegas pass rush,
got it to Stefan Diggs. So they'll face a fourth
and one at the four yard line of Las Vegas
looking to well, still looking to score, but looking to
convert here so they could go first in goal at
the three.

Speaker 2 (14:08):
Also, the Chargers right now have a second in goal
at the Titans seven yard line. This is a game
where I'm leading Titans a two and a half point
dog at home. I think they should be able to
run the ball effectively. No, Austin Eckler today, Joshua Kelly
is going to get the majority of the carries for
the Chargers today. Yesterday talking he from salam I talked
about any chance at all with modern miracle medicine of

(14:31):
an Aaron Rodgers return this year from a blown achilles
and he said, here's what you need to know. He's
thirty nine years old. This is not cam Akers from
a couple of years ago, who was a twenty three
year old running back. This is a thirty nine year
old quarterback. He can come back next year, but he's
not coming back this year.

Speaker 3 (14:50):
Well through the process of the news media hype that
seems to swirl around Aaron Rodgers, they're talking about if
the Jets make all the way to the Super Bowl,
maybe Aaron Rodgers can return triumphant and the Bills mash
it into the end zone.

Speaker 2 (15:07):
But the ball is loose? Is the ball loose? What
do we see here?

Speaker 3 (15:11):
No, they got in, Okay, it looks like a touchdown Bills,
And it was Latavius Murray who got in from about
four yards out. They had a first in goal and
he just slammed his head into a bunch of Las
Vegas defenders and powered his way in. So that ballgame
about to be tied with the ensuing extra point.

Speaker 2 (15:28):
All right, one game we haven't mentioned. The Bears are
leading the Buccaneers seven to three, the Bears scoring on
a Justin Fields short run one yard run. So seven
to three, Bears leading the Buccaneers. So we got some
scoring early, unlike last week. The only game that we
haven't got a score yet would be actually two games
the Chiefs Jaguars still no score in that game, and

(15:51):
the Packers and the Falcons, although the Falcons now do
have the ball in the red zone of a green.

Speaker 3 (15:59):
Bay also got three points. The field goal is good. Dicker,
the kicker for the Los Angeles Chargers, hits a twenty
seven yarder. So the Chargers on the board first in
Nashville against the Titans.

Speaker 2 (16:11):
Of three nine.

Speaker 4 (16:12):
We was just tied it up in Detroit here Josh
Reynolds from Jared Goff and that just like that, your
big upset there is tied up early.

Speaker 2 (16:20):
And I know my upset was the points spread. They're
still not covering four and a half point favorites the
Lions a little and very very very very very I'm
a point spread guy, a guy learned that from Rich Orenberger.
He's about the spread where the real value is. Yeah,
oh yeah. Chargers last week gave up four hundred and
sixty six yards passing to Tua Tongue I looa. This
is a team that is coached by a guy who

(16:41):
was hailed as a defensive genius, Brandon Staley. After one
year as a defensive coordinator with the Rams, where he
had Aaron Donnell in the middle of his defense. I
haven't seen any defense for the Chargers. The only reason
they win any games is they have a supremely talented quarterback.
So I mean, where are we? I mean, I'm listening
to Brandon Staley's comments after the game. I'm just my

(17:04):
head's spinning right now. You know I feel about Staley.
I'm still waiting. I'm still waiting for his impact on
the team. It's great when you have a super quarterback,
but he's gonna be wasted if they don't start playing
some defense.

Speaker 3 (17:17):
Uh yeah, I completely agree with you. The windows open,
It is wide open. That team is stacked. If you
look at the Chargers roster, it holds up as one
of the best in the NFL right now. If they
don't start playing defense, they're gonna squander this opportunity. And
like you said, this is a defensive minded head coach.
He's turned over the offense now to Kellen Moore after

(17:38):
Joe Lombardi, and they've had success. They just can't get
over that hump of stopping the run or stopping teams
on third down. Atlanta Falcons at home hosting the Packers
are down to the Green Bay two yard line, have
a second and one attempt and Desmond Ritter overthrows his target,
but there's a flag on the play. Looks like defensive passing.

Speaker 2 (18:00):
Interesting game here because both these teams one in Week
one Packers and Falcons. Which team do you believe in? More? Oh?

Speaker 3 (18:09):
Okay, So the Falcons are sneaky, man. They got a
good defense, not great, but good, and they've got this
three headed monster that's going to merge out of the
backfield with Tyler Algier and Blake Robinson and Cordell Patterson
when he's healthy. That that's a real threat. And then
they've got some playmakers on the edges look out for

(18:29):
Atlanta out of a weaker NFC South competing this season,
and they're given the Packers all they can handle early
on in this game. They got a fresh set of downs,
first and goal from the Green Bay one. Now play
action fake and Desmond Ritter overthrows his target again, so
they have three more attempts to get this in the
zone ye.

Speaker 2 (18:48):
Second week straight.

Speaker 4 (18:48):
Also that Packers are without Christian Watson and he had
a really good connection with Jordan Love in the preseason.

Speaker 2 (18:54):
Well, I mean, both these teams are what and we
call winnable divisions. Sure, yeah, I mean he's to the
NFC South North or not great divisions. By the way,
how about the Vikings. After going eleven to zero in
one score games a year ago, they're zero to two
in one score games this year.

Speaker 3 (19:08):
I said it to you before we started red zone
radio up again. I said, look, we're going to be
looking at a little bit of regression to the meme
with the Minnesota Vikings.

Speaker 2 (19:16):
I don't call it luck.

Speaker 3 (19:18):
You gotta win football games, and you gotta win close
football games sometimes. But they won a lot of close
football games last year, and that's a good football team.
I don't think it's a particularly great defense this year
with a good head coach, I just don't think they're
going to be as good as they were a season ago.

Speaker 2 (19:34):
All Right, Chiefs have the ball. They are in Jacksonville Territory.
They're facing a third down. Mahomes off to another shaky
start six to ten, just fifty three yards and Travis
Kelcey one target, zero catches. I don't know. Something is
not quite right yet with the Chiefs team that certainly

(19:56):
has no excuses now that they're second and third. Best
players are back, so they're just trying to find their way.
And again, can't underplay the Jacksonville team. This is a
team that is favored bright most people win their division.
All right, the Chiefs just got a first down, but
there's a flag looks like a hold against the Chiefs.
Will negate that? So we got we've got some interesting
developments over here. But if you're a Chiefs fan, should

(20:20):
you have any concerns? I mean, a week ago, I know,
no Kelsey, but there were drops all over the place.

Speaker 3 (20:26):
Yeah, and hang on a second. We have a fourth
and goal situation. Atlanta Falcons looking to punch this one
in after two incompletions on first and third down, a
second down run that didn't go well, and there's flags everywhere.
Oh no, what a disaster. I think that was a
false start. And there's a bunch of officials talking about it.

(20:47):
It looks like they're about to lose five yards. Now
do you still go for it? Do you still go
for the fourth?

Speaker 2 (20:52):
I go for it. You're at home, Come on, you
have to. I mean it's much around the road. But
if you're at home, yeah, you get the crowd on
your side. Let's get too in a right Arthur Smith
he's looking away right now, I can't watch. Oh they're
going field goal. They're going field young way, Coup is
on the field. The Falcons are going to go for

(21:15):
the chip shot field goal. No, come on, Art, Why yeah,
field goal is good. So the Falcons take the early
three nothing lead at home against Green Bay Packers. All right,
let's find out what is trending right now. Fresh off
another award winning performance on her show yesterday with Alex Here,

(21:36):
she is ready to tackle a busy start to the
damn scene.

Speaker 7 (21:41):
It's a busy start today to the day. But that's
how we want it.

Speaker 2 (21:44):
That's how we wanted yesterday.

Speaker 7 (21:46):
Last week was bor It's boring, and not just the
lack of scoring. Just the games were a little bit boring.

Speaker 2 (21:51):
We had no exciting finishes.

Speaker 7 (21:53):
It was. It was bizarre, you know, aside from that
Christian McCaffrey sixty five yard run. Honestly, it was like
a very quiet We ain't.

Speaker 2 (22:00):
Even have a missed extra point in the first eight game.
Wasn't until those second wave of games came right before
we went off the air we had a miss extra point.

Speaker 7 (22:08):
I know, so very very difficult. This week, of course,
the Chargers have a different look this week. No Austin Eckler,
but they are beating the Titans three zero, about two
and a half minutes to go in the first quarter.
Houston just passing touchdown CJ. Stroud up the middle for
Nico Collins. So Colts still up though because Anthony Richardson
two rushing touchdowns in the first six minutes of the quarter.

(22:30):
I mean what, that's crazy, But the Colts are still
up Texas on the scoreboard fourteen to seven, three minutes
to go in the first quarter. The Bears are beating
the Buccaneers in Tampa seven three, less than two minutes
to go in the first We have a tie game
between the Seahawks and the Lions at seven to seven,
ninety seconds to go in the first quarter. The Ravens
and the Bengals going at it. This is always a

(22:50):
fun one. We'll see how Joe Burrow goes with this
game after last week. But the Ravens have scored first
thanks to Gus Edwards seven zero, three minutes to go
in the first and it's a tie game between the
Raiders and the Bills in Buffalo seven to seven, also
three minutes to go in the first Falcons weren't able
to do anything except get a field goal. But they're
beating the Packers. They got on the scoreboard first, so

(23:10):
it's three zero about four minutes ago in the first quarter.
A little college football news. I'm sure we all saw
that game last night. Oh yoh, what a game. I
was asking on Twitter if I could come in to
work late, but nobody approved it, So here I am
on time.

Speaker 2 (23:25):
Nope.

Speaker 7 (23:27):
But Colorado's two way star Travis Hunter is expected to
miss a few weeks after absorbing that illegal hit. Colorado
faces Oregon and USC next.

Speaker 2 (23:38):
Yeah. At Oregon, I think the decks are seven out
point favorites. Look, Colorado's defense was exposed. Yes, they were
twenty five point favorites in that game, and they barely
escape a win. Win though it is, but I think
that after the game, Dione Sanders was a little humbled.

Speaker 7 (23:53):
Of course, of course, he was, do either of you
rate your children?

Speaker 2 (23:57):
You mean in terms of which one we like best?

Speaker 7 (23:59):
Yes, it's just like Deon Sanders does see he ranks
his children.

Speaker 2 (24:03):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (24:03):
Yeah, So who's in the lead now, is it Shadora Shiloh?

Speaker 7 (24:06):
Well no, he was Shiloh. It is moving up, said
he did yesterday. Yeah, but Shiloh was last and he's like, no,
he's gonna move up.

Speaker 8 (24:16):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (24:16):
Number two yeah yeah, tye, tye, our oldest was in
last place, I mean and dragon for a while. Number
He finished a week strong last week at school, so
it's neck and neck between him and Bash.

Speaker 2 (24:28):

misses a field goal attempt. He did from fifty nine yards.
Of course, this guy is the his field goal in
the history of the game. He's ticketed for the Hall
of Fame someday. But I'm askeous to see this Bengals team.
I mean, this is the second possession of the game,
was three and out and their first possession and you

(25:10):
just three and out again. I mean, Joe Burrow, what
is going on? They can't get the ball down the field.
Three for four to twelve, he's four for five, rich
for thirteen yards. He can't get the ball down the field.
I don't know, I don't know.

Speaker 3 (25:26):
I mean, a They're gonna have to protect him well
all season long for him to shine. That goes That's
the same with every great quarterback, justin Herbert, Josh Allen,
Trevor Lawrence. Joe Burrow is no different. Like you need
to keep him on his feet to help him. That
was the problem last week. This week so far, I mean,
these drives have just stalled because they haven't had early
down success. When you're facing third and nine, third and

(25:49):
longer situations, that's a lot on your offense, especially early
on in the game. But this is, I mean, it's
confounding what we've seen through just about five quarters now
football with Joe Burrow. He slated as one of the
best players in this league, and he just he hasn't
looked right. And I think it has a lot to
do with missing a ton of time with that calf injury.

(26:11):
His early season starts have have been really rusty.

Speaker 2 (26:14):
Well, think about this already. So far this year, he
has thirty six pass attempts and he's thrown for ninety
five yards. Whoa, whoa. I mean that's less than three
yards an attempt. You just don't see that in the
NFL these days. Well, that's what happening right now with
the Bengals offense. So the Ravens will get the ball back,

(26:34):
leading that game by a score of seven to nothing.
All right, getting back to the Titans situation right now.
Ryan Tannehill was just awful last week, I mean awful,
and he's off to another rough start today. They have
a net negative three yards, passing two for three eleven yards.
He's been sacked already a couple of times by this

(26:56):
Chargers defense. Chargers leading of three nothing. How long is
Ryan Tannehill going to hang on to that job?

Speaker 3 (27:02):
I mean, look, when you draft quarterbacks close to the
top of the draft in consecutive years, it's sending a
message here, quarterback, like you either need to start playing
like a franchise guy we can trust for the future,
or we're going to find our next franchise guy that
we can trust for the future. A lot of people
have this misconception about the second round, like they think, oh,

(27:24):
second round draft pick.

Speaker 2 (27:25):
Well, I mean that's not very good.

Speaker 3 (27:27):
No, no, no, do you have any idea how many
like first round grades are taken in the second round.
Will Levis may end up being the starting quarterback for
the Tennessee Titans and having a successful career with them.
We don't know yet. We haven't seen them in real
game action yet. So yeah, it remains to be seen
how long they're going to allow this to go with

(27:50):
with Tannehill, but we know there's an expiration date that's
already been placed on him by the franchise.

Speaker 2 (27:56):
All right, Well, two teams that have rookie quarterbacks going
ahead to hit, the Colts and the Texans. Texans on
a board on a CJ. Strataniko Collins touchdown pass. Anthony
Richardson is doing big things early in this game. Five
of a passing fifty yards, no touchdowns, no picks, three
carries thirty five yards and two touchdowns on the ground.

(28:18):
I was asking yesterday from salamit he thought of CJ.
Stroud's debut. He thought it was it was okay, But
it's interesting to watch these two young quarterbacks go head
to head. Week two of the NFL season. What are
your thoughts Anthony Richardson? Is he as good as he looks?
I mean to me? And this gets back to the idea.

(28:39):
You have a first year coach and Shane STEIKNYEP with
a rookie quarterback that the owner is hyping a big time.
But I think if you watch what they're doing with
the passing game with Richardson, is they're putting him in
a comfortable situation. Give him passes that he feels comfortable with.
Get that completion percentage up, because remember he was fifty
four percent of Florida last year. He was well over

(29:01):
sixty percent last week. So I think that's Stichen has
got a good read on how to not rush things
with the passing game. Richardson could do devastating things running
the ball, but you know the s gradual, you know,
elevation of his passing game working so far.

Speaker 3 (29:16):
Well, I like what they're doing with him. Obviously they're
trusting him as a runner and the passer, and that's
exactly what you should do with a guy like him.
You should pigeonhole him into a situation. Wow, the Packers
just got a huge, huge pass to the sideline. Was
that Romeo Dubbs or who just caught that ball, but
they took it a long way, so deep inside of

(29:37):
Atlanta Falcons territory.

Speaker 2 (29:39):
Yeah, and after Atlanta in Love by the way, just
scrambled eighteen yards.

Speaker 3 (29:42):
Oh that's what it was. I thought he threw it.
It was Love on his own. He scrambled and that
was a huge gain on the ground.

Speaker 2 (29:48):
First and ten at the eighteen yard line of the Falcons.

Speaker 3 (29:50):
Okay, So the Falcons had six attempts from the green
Bay two and they had to settle for three points,
which is an embarrassment. Let's see if the Green Bay
Packers can do better in the red zone again, Falcons.
Did somebody have something.

Speaker 5 (30:01):
Something to watch? Some NFL reporters are saying that d
dk metcalf is going to be questionable to return. He
took a huge that big hit.

Speaker 3 (30:08):
On that pass down at the one yard line, right,
it looked like he got sandwich by two defenders.

Speaker 2 (30:14):
Injury, Yeah, that's what it looked like. Okay, already a.

Speaker 4 (30:17):
Few injuries in this game too. I know CJ. Gardner, Johnson,
Kirby Joseph. I think Kirby Joseph's back in the game.
Someone reported him with a hip injury earlier.

Speaker 2 (30:24):
But did the three of.

Speaker 3 (30:25):
Them just slam into each other and all injury each
other at the same time?

Speaker 2 (30:29):
Is that what I think?

Speaker 4 (30:29):
There were multiple It all happened on that first drive,
that first Seattle drive, though, just separate plays.

Speaker 3 (30:35):
This is going to be a physical game because look
at Dan Campbell, look at Pete Carroll. Pete Carroll, I
mean echoes of the Legion of Booms still rattling around
in his head. Dan Campbell wants a team that's gonna
bite kneecaps and saw off legs out there. I mean,
there's gonna be a physical ballgame, no scory with the
Chiefs and Jaguars. They just came to the end the
first quarter. But here's the story there Jacksonville facing a

(30:55):
fourth and one at their own thirty four yard line
as the core came to an end, they were lined
up to run a play. Now, this is this is
what I call the panic mode we've seen so much
against the Chiefs, the idea that the Chiefs are gonna score, gotta.

Speaker 2 (31:12):
Go, we gotta go, we gotta go. Uh fourth and
one at your own thirty four yard line in a
scoreless game at home my Yeah, I don't know. I
mean eterly for that, don't you think.

Speaker 3 (31:26):
My guess is they were gonna see if they could
get a free five yards, and so it was just
cadence kaiden skadence until the time ticked off of the
quarter clock.

Speaker 2 (31:35):
That's my guess.

Speaker 3 (31:37):
And that's fine as long as nobody jumps out of
their stands, that's fine. I look, there's gamesmanship and a
lot of coaches, especially coaches like Doug Peterson, who have
the the the the identification of a coach who will
chance it on fourth down. Sometimes sometimes you could catch
teams sleeping at the wheel and you could get them
to jump off sides on a fourth down.

Speaker 2 (31:57):
All right, Getting back to that Packers Falcons game again,
First down and ten for the Packers. They're in the
red zone at the Falcons nineteen yard line, and they
have come to the end of the first quarter in
that game. All right. Not only do we give you
updates on the games that are going on, we also
give a look ahead to some of the games a
little bit later on, including the Rams hosting the forty

(32:19):
nine ers. Rams look dynamite. No one expect that that
in their opening game, big win on the road against
the Seahawks, and of course the forty nine Ers looked
every bit as good as we knew they were. Yep,
they could be the best team in the league. Laura Oakman,
she's going to be the Fox NFL sideline reporter. She'll
give us a preview coming up next. He takes the.

Speaker 9 (32:39):
Snap, wants to throw back, looking, looking, throwing middle end
zone talk, touchdown Detroit Lions. Boom, babe, what a cats
out there. Josh Reynolds with the crab of sorts. A
big hit from Quadrake Diggs, but held on and the
Lions are extra port away to tie in.

Speaker 2 (32:58):
This game has ninety seven to one The Ticket Lions
Radio network. Lions and Seahawks tied at seven, nine and
a half minutes to go in the first half. There
this is Fox Sports Red Zone Radio Steve Hartman and
Rich Ornberger. All right, well, let's get a little look
ahead right now on a game that a lot of interest.

(33:18):
Rams coming off a huge win on the road against
the Seahawks and the forty nine Ers, well, they might
be the best team in the NFL. Laura Oakman is
joining as shube on the sidelines for that game, and
I guess, Laura, let's start with the Rams right now,
because the question is was that real? Because I, honestly,
I've been making some bold predictions that the Rams are

(33:40):
going to end up with Caleb Williams, knowing some of
the people in that organization, some of the doubts they
have about what kind of season it's going to be,
and then they pull that kind of upset on the
road against Seattle. So should Ram fans be excited or
still cautious on what kind of season it's going to be?

Speaker 10 (33:57):
You are playing right into Sean McVay, who's like, bring it,
keep telling us that that's what we want to hear.
I think he was more freaked out, not about the
lack of expectations going in, but more like, oh this
is I don't a little worried now we think we're
a little bit better than we should. I think everybody
has that exact phrase up there before we start this game.

(34:18):
Are they for real? And I don't think that it's
not even being asked in the locker room. I think
everyone's asking that we did that game last week. And
I told this to Sean McVay. We've covered the Rams
so many times. It is the most fun I've had
watching a Rams sideline, and that includes the Super Bowl year.
It was a bunch of veterans that and guys just

(34:39):
kind of quiet doing their job, trusting other people to
do their job. Practice the game last week. These young
guys are having so much fun. They don't know what
they don't know, and what that's done is infused this
just like this jolt of youth to Matthew Stafford and
Aaron Donald. I took both of them this week. I've
never seen them talk so much on the sideline. I've

(34:59):
never seen the smile so much. So it's a great
story after a win, right, So now the big question
is can they keep that up. Can Matthew Stafford look
like he did last week? My god, the way he
was just fishing the ball, the way he was getting
it to all these young receivers without Cooper there. And
also he wasn't hit. I think he was hit twice

(35:19):
and no sack, so that offense was able to move
against that Seattle defense. This Niners defense is a whole different.

Speaker 2 (35:26):
Thing, you know, and then you look at the other side.

Speaker 3 (35:29):
A coach Kyle Shanahan, obviously the through line this entire
time with this organization and he and John Lynch's success,
they've built a monster and they've kind of lorded over
this division now for a while and have made runs
to championship games. But all the while you've had this
narrative on the back burner with Trey Lance. So how
is he balancing this right? The guilt of failing to

(35:51):
develop Trey Lance and having to trade him away after
years of trying, but then the brilliance of a young
quarterback in brock Herdi who captivated on Saul last season
and into the postseason, and then obviously in Game one
against the Steelers.

Speaker 10 (36:08):
I hate doing this because I certainly am not a psychiatrist,
But what I would say with Kyle is I don't
think Kyle sits around and balances the guilt with anything,
because in Kyle Shanahan's head, it's what do we need
to win? And one of the reasons why the players
respect him so much he is extremely open with guys
all the time. Now he's had to learn that a

(36:28):
little bit. But what guys will say, you are on
the trading block, or if all of a sudden we
kind of hear you know, like what's happening with Jimmy
just with players. Kyle's pretty honest and upfront, even when
they don't like to hear that. So I think there's
a little bit of respect there. And also, more importantly,
do your answer. It's business And that's such a cliche,
but everyone knows on that team that Kyle's most important

(36:51):
question is what can we do to win? And we
had a terrific conversation with Kyle yesterday and Kyle was
saying about how brock I'm trying to remember exactly how
I asked him. I think I said George Kittle was
talking about how the cliche of a young quarterback commanding
the huddle, right, it's kind of what everyone says, can

(37:12):
he command the huddle? And I was asking George be
more specific and tell me exactly how.

Speaker 8 (37:16):
He does that.

Speaker 10 (37:16):
He was saying, the way this kid comes in and
the way he draws us and the way he attracts us,
and the way that he makes us better. And he said,
and I'm talking Trent Williams, I'm talking George Kittle, how
you shuck it? He makes these guys better at this
young age. And I asked, Kyle, once, the least young
quarterback you've seen command a team like this with respect,

(37:37):
and Kyle said, never, I've never had a guy like this.
He loves this kid. What he will say is he
is young, and he is religious and sweet, and then
he says that he will cut you on the steel.
And that's Kyle's kind of guy. And he said, that's
not because we learned that last year when Jimmy went down.
That's because he said that he would have Trent Williams

(38:00):
saying to him when Brock was the first stringer, Hey,
what's up with the with the little guy? Like that's
the little guys the ball, and then he would get
attacks from Fred tred Warner, who would say, don't she
find TV Number three? So this scene had seen that
in him. So Kyle said, when Jimmy went down, he
went to that you know sixth for Jimmy's what had happened.

(38:23):
But he said, as soon as I stopped feeling bad
for Jimmy, and and that's thought about Brock coming in,
he said, I slept well that night knowing that this
kid is not going to be a kid coming in
and we've seen that. We've seen that, you know last
year and last week.

Speaker 2 (38:38):
Well, Laura, I'll tell you what it's going to be
an interesting battle. We're up against the time wise, but
I know that Sean McVay liked end this regular season
losing Street to his buddy Kyle Shanahan eight and o
over of the last four years. Well, we'll be watching
out there, Laura. We always appreciate the time, Thanks so much,
or give us a little preview of this matchup between
the Niners and the Rams.

Speaker 10 (38:59):
You guys are awesome, Thanks thanks for having me.

Speaker 2 (39:00):
That's Laura Oakman there. Yeah, eight to no that is
the record. And of course the Rams did get the
win in the NFC championship game against the forty nine Ers.
Came back to win that game. A dropped interception saved
them in that one. But eight to no over the
last four years, that's the forty nine Ers record head
to head against the Rams.

Speaker 3 (39:18):
Confidence. That's how you win the huddle. As a young player,
confidence and brock Party oozes confidence. He's the type of
player who will get in there, he'll grab someone's face mask,
he'll say some encouraging words, or he'll give him a
little constructive criticism, and he's not afraid to do it.
As a young players, it's hard to trust a player
like that without having seen his work. But you've seen it,

(39:41):
You've seen it. I mean, it's year two after making
this run to the NFC Championship game, and if he
doesn't get hurt, who knows, maybe they would have been
contending for a Super Bowl. So yeah, they got a
confident find in the seventh round of last year's draft.
And I'm sure Kyle Shanahan is just fine about moving
on from Trey Lance to Brock Party.

Speaker 2 (40:00):
All right, a couple quick notes. So some games going
on right now. The Bills have a fourteen to seven
lead on the Raiders, but the Raiders are inside the
Bill's thirty yard line. We have got about inside eight
minutes to go in the first half there and three nothing.
That's the lead. Jags score first against the Chiefs, who
got so much more coming up. For all the information
you need, keep it right here. This is Fox Sports

(40:22):

(40:42):
buying should be. When we mentioned that Week one a
week ago today, to be honest, was a bit of
a snoozer. It's been much better here in Week two.
A lot more scoring this week. By the way. The
Raiders did get that field goal to cut the Bills
lead to fourteen to ten. But now the Bills have
a third and goal at the Raiders one yard line.

(41:03):
So this Bill's offense is beginning to wake up this half.
In fact, you want to hear some numbers. Josh Allen
in this game thirteen for thirteen ninety four yards and
a touchdown. That sounds pretty good.

Speaker 3 (41:18):
Yeah, he woke up, and he woke up on the
right side of the bed. So Gardner Minshew took over
for Anthony Richardson in this Colts Houston Texans game down
there in Houston. They now lead twenty one to seven
after a Zach Moss rushing touchdown for the score. Gardner
Minshew in a quarterback on that drive, Anthony Richardson has
scored it off the field by a few members of

(41:40):
the training staff, one of which was holding his helmet.
No update there yet, we'll find out what's going on
as soon as that news becomes available. But yeah, they're
gonna finish the half, I'm guessing most likely.

Speaker 5 (41:52):
So Montzi's just informed us that he's being evaluated for
a concussion.

Speaker 2 (41:55):
Oh, there you have it, Okay.

Speaker 3 (41:57):
Yeah, last week he had taken that hard hit and
he had left the game for a little bit. He
I mean, you got to be careful, especially with the
young man's head. We saw what happened to Tua, and
there was a lot of concerns for him this offseason,
especially as he was recovering. He even discussed retirement after
his best season as a starting quarterback.

Speaker 2 (42:17):
So I know he's.

Speaker 3 (42:18):
Electric and you want to run him all the time
and he's going to scramble out, but you need to
teach him to protect himself and start sliding.

Speaker 2 (42:24):
Chargers got a touchdown on a pass from Justin Herbert
to Keenan Allen and got a two point conversion take
eleven to nothing lead. But the Titans, as soon as
I rip somebody, they do a play and that's what happened.
Ryan Tannehill a seven yard bomb to trail On Burrick,
setting up a one yard touchdown run by Derek Henry.
So it's now eleven to seven Chargers leading the Titans.

(42:45):
By the way, quick note on the Jets. In this
post Aaron Rodgers period, there is a couple of things
that have developed, namely with a guy named Tom Brady.
Tom Brady has not officially signed his papers yet in
his ownership interest in the Raiders. So this was a

(43:06):
deal where if he's already owning a team, he'd have
to give up at least temporarily that ownership if he
were to resume his playing career. But apparently that paperwork
is not done yet, meaning that Tom Brady is available.
I mean, if you're Tom Brady, yep, and you look

(43:28):
at the weapons that that Jets team has yep.

Speaker 3 (43:32):
Right okay, So as it stands right now, And the
Jets obviously reached out and they spoke with members from
his management agent's team. He said, I'm retired, I'm forty six.
No interest here. However, say Zach Wilson takes this team,
I don't know, to seven and two record. Somehow, the

(43:54):
Jets rattle off seven wins over the first nine weeks.
Say they end up, you know, punching their ticket as
a postseason team. And then something happens, an injury occurs,
you're telling me that Tom Brady, especially if that paperwork
is an official.

Speaker 2 (44:09):
Not official, and who knows how long that takes. I
don't know, maybe it takes a full season. Bottom line
is he doesn't have an official ownership piece of the
Raiders right now. Now.

Speaker 3 (44:19):
The one issue you got to work out is a
trade with the Buccaneers because he retired before his contract
was up, right, so you got to work that out.
But I'm sure those details could be hammered out relatively quickly,
and then all of a sudden, you have a situation
where Tom Brady can be the starting quarterback of the
New York Jets and win his third Super Bowl with
his third team, or should say is what would it be?

(44:40):
His eighth super Bowl with his third team? Could be
awkward too.

Speaker 2 (44:45):
Can you imagine that if Aaron Rodgers pulls a miracle
and they get to the playoffs with Brady leading the way,
and then Aaron's like, I'm ready, wait a second. The achillites.

Speaker 3 (44:54):
Yeah, and that was a weird note from that is
that Aaron Rodgers got a surgery where the timeline could
be exhibitited all the way up to five months, which
would basically put him right at the Super Bowl beat
So would you.

Speaker 2 (45:08):
Bench Tom Brady to put Aaron Rodgers in in your
playoff run?

Speaker 3 (45:12):
If available dual starters, you flip a coin to see
who starts a game.

Speaker 2 (45:16):
You switch them every season. I got a quicker Rodgers
out of the wildcat. Yeah.

Speaker 5 (45:20):
Do you think Bill Belichick would tear Tom Brady's name
off of the Patriots Ring of Honors?

Speaker 2 (45:25):
Last week? He was there for their opening game. He
was sitting with Robert Kraft. Can you imagine if he
joined the Jets? Oh my gosh, Holy moly. All right,
by the way, we're watching the Bengals right now. They're
trailing the Ravens by a score of ten to seven.
They have a second and eight at the Ravens thirteen
yard line. Joe burrows seven and nine, just thirty two
yards passing every pass I see him throw as a

(45:48):
little sideline swing pass Jamar Chase, one catch, zero yards.
What has happened here? One catch zero yards for Jamar Chase. Well,
with four minutes to go on the first half, what
do we know about the Ravens? Classically?

Speaker 8 (46:03):
Right?

Speaker 3 (46:04):
Strong defense, strong running game, good special teams. It is
like rinsed, repeat second verse, same as the first every year.
This is what we know about the Ravens. Okay, it
doesn't matter who their offensive coordinator is, it doesn't matter
who their quarterback is. They're gonna rely on ball possession offense,
running the football, winning the time of possession game, and

(46:26):
playing strong defenchdown there, no in and out of the
hands of Jamar Chase. Great, great defense. Yes, that was
single coverage on one of the better receivers in this league,
and it's knocked away in the corner of the end zone.
So it brings up fourth and five for the Cincinnati Bengals,
And if I'm them, you gotta kick that field goal.
You just need points at this point.

Speaker 2 (46:46):
Wow, just when I thought again i mentioned the guy
not doing anything, Jamar Chase. Look at that defense. That
ball was just stripped right out of his hands at
the goal line. Unbelievable d right there. So fourth and five,
the Bengals will have to settle for a field goal
at time and try to tie this game up at
ten apiece. Colt's looking good right now, up twenty one
to seven on the road against the Houston Texans, but

(47:09):
no Anthony Richardson. Anthony Richardson is out. We're still awaiting
word any update on that one bow anything yet on
Anthony or Richardson the concussion protocol. So he's still in
the cus. So is he out of the game with that, Well,
we'd imagine.

Speaker 3 (47:23):
We don't know yet, but it looks like he's being
evaluated for a concussion.

Speaker 2 (47:27):
As it stands, we have inside eight minutes to go
in the first half. The Chiefs have zero points. Mahomes
is nine to fifteen for eighty two yards and a pick.
Travis Kelcey in this game zero catches. Yeah, something is
not right. Well, this is what happens when, by the way,

(47:47):
they have no running game. Mahomes had a scramble for
eleven yards. Take that out. They have three yards rushing.

Speaker 3 (47:53):
This is what happens when you play against coaches who
have good plans against the Chiefs. And if it were
up to me the Chiefs in their current form, what
I would do is I would commit my team to
stopping the run and I'm gonna say, Okay, look, we're
gonna we're gonna allow you to throw the ball and
we're going to try to play some deep coverage coverage

(48:15):
and we're going to keep everything in front of us.
But can can you win that way? And and right
now they can't because I don't think they can trust
their receivers Tony H.

Speaker 8 (48:25):
Moore.

Speaker 3 (48:26):
Last last game against the Detroit Lions, they had so
many drops Travis kelce coming off a knee injury. I'm
going to commit them to I'm going to force the
Chiefs have to pass against if they want to win,
and if it doesn't work in the first half, then
sure we could change it. We can switch up coverages,
but I'm gonna put the game on Mahomes in company
because what we saw in week one wasn't all that

(48:49):
impressive out of the passing game. It's not Mahomes's fault necessarily.
You could blame a lot on those receivers, but that's
what I saw, and so that's what the Jaguars are
doing well.

Speaker 2 (48:59):
It didn't look good last week. It looks a whole
lot worse today. So I'm not exactly sure the condition
of Travis kelcey, but to see him play a half
inside seven minutes ago and he doesn't have a single
game He's only been targeted one time yep. So far
in this game Meanwhile, the return of Jones on your

(49:20):
defense zero tackles. Well, so I mean, and these guys
sat out the entire offseason, right.

Speaker 3 (49:26):
That's skewed a little bit as a defensive time. I
understand that with Christian impact plays without having stat lines,
So unless you've specifically seen every play, you can't rely
on stats with an interior defensive lineman. However, what you
can say is Jacksonville is going toe to toe with
the championship winning Chiefs from a year ago, and they're

(49:46):
leading right now at home three nothing. And it's been
if you're not watching this game, the Jaguars have been
in control the entire time.

Speaker 2 (49:54):
They have dominated. They're at midfield right now with the
ball and they're again trying to ad to that three
to nothing lead. Meanwhile, the Chargers on the road against
the Tennessee Titans, and the Chargers have added a field goals.
So you look at the score, hey, fourteen seven, a
couple of touchdowns, No, they have one touchdown, two field goals,
and a two point conversion to get to those fourteen points.

(50:18):
Justin Herbert looking solid eleven of eighteen hundred and sixteen yards,
he has a touchdown pass to Keenan Allen, Joshua Kelly.
I had a feature on my LA TV show last
night on Joshua Kelly, Who's going to get the bulk
of the work with Austin Eckler out today for the Chargers.
Six carries, twenty six yards for the former UCLA Bruin

(50:39):
and the Titans. Again, this is a Titans team that
was the number one seed in the AFC a year
two years ago. Last year obviously a big disappointment. They're
on to one. They need a win today to avoid
that dreaded two hole. Meanwhile, the Ravens have now got
the ball on the move against the Bengals. That game
tied at ten inside three minutes ago on the first half.

(51:00):
All Right, so we're heading toward halftimes. Around the NFL,
we got a lot more in store for you. As
we say, we bring it to rapid fire, scores, stats,
everything you need. This is Fox Sports Red Zone Radio.
Allen under center, takes the.

Speaker 11 (51:16):

Speaker 2 (51:18):
End zone for the touchdown.

Speaker 3 (51:20):
Gossin knocks a two yard.

Speaker 2 (51:23):
Touchdown reception for the tight end. That's WGR five point
fifty Bills Radio Network Bills lead the Raiders fourteen to
ten inside a minute ago in the first half in
that game. This is Fox Sports Red Zone Radio. We
are live from the tai Iraq dot Com studios. Pretty

(51:44):
entertaining days so far around the National Football League. Week two.
Seems like the offenses have woken up a little bit
from their Week one slumber. Lions leading the Seahawks by
a score of fourteen to seven. In fact, let's give
you a quick rundown of all the scores right now.
Packers lead the Falcons ten to three inside a minute
to go in the first half. There we mentioned the
Bills fourteen to ten over the Raiders forty one seconds

(52:07):
to go in the half. There, the Ravens have the
ball first and ten at the Bengals thirteen yard line.
We got forty one seconds left in the half there.
That game is tied at ten final seconds of the
first half. Lions lead the Seahawks fourteen to seven. Also
the Chargers and the Titans. We're inside a minute to go,

(52:27):
Titans trailing fourteen to seven. They have a fourth and
three at the Chargers fifteen yard line. Final seconds the
first half. Bears and Buccaneers tied to ten. Colts leading
the Texans twenty one to ten inside two minutes to
go in the half there, and we just got the
two minute warning in Jacksonville, Jags lead the Chiefs three

(52:47):
to nothing. Jeeves have a fourth and two right now
at the Jacksonville forty two.

Speaker 3 (52:52):
Chris Jones is back though, and on a fourth and
five play from midfield for the Jacksonville Jaguars, Trevor Lawrence
had to evade the rush, stepped up to his left
and then got clobbered by Chris Jones from behind. So
his first sack of the season comes in his first
action of the season against the Jags. That's what awarded
the Chiefs of Football in the first place.

Speaker 2 (53:13):
You're not gonna believe this. Baker Mayfield had an eighty
seven yard run. Oh wow, not a touchdown. Baker Mayfield's
first half stats thirteen of eighteen, two and two yards passing,
no touchdowns in a pick Oh they took it off
the board. Oh yeah, that's insane. I was just I

(53:35):
was looking at him, like, did he have an eighty
seven yard run? He has four carries for eighteen yards? Okay,
because they had it posted and I was like, I
miss something.

Speaker 3 (53:43):
Rishat White is their leading rusher with forty four yards
on ten carries.

Speaker 2 (53:47):
Yeah, they just they had it posted. They had four
carries for one hundred and five yards with a long
of eighty seven. I'm like Baker Mayfield had an eighty
seven yard run, but two hundred yards passing in the
first half.

Speaker 3 (53:58):
Look, Baker's we know that about Baker and Win healthy,
he can make some things happen. And this is a
better than advertised Bucks team. That defense with Todd Bowles
as their head coach, you know it's going to be solid.
And then that offense, You've got real weapons around that
offense with Godwin and Evans and Ben Baker earlier this season. Man,

(54:20):
I mean, it's not like he's going against murderers row.
He played the Vikings in week one, who have no
discernible defense to speak of, and the Bears now in
week two, who have no discernible defense to speak of.

Speaker 2 (54:31):
All right, Bills have a touchdown short pass for this
score and they take a twenty one to ten lead
over the Raiders final second of the first half. So
the Bills offensively, Josh Allen has been magnificent eighteen to
twenty one hundred and forty two yards passing, two touchdowns
and no picks. That's the key, right there, No picks

(54:54):
or a guy that's become a turnover machine. Meanwhile, rich
the Falcons down ten to three to the Pack, have
a first and goal at the Green Bay three yard line,
sixteen seconds left to go in the half. There and
we got Kansas City with a first and goal thirty
seconds left in the half.

Speaker 3 (55:12):
Oh flag down on the play, but it looks like
a touchdown pass to the running back.

Speaker 2 (55:17):
It might be. It looks like it might up. They're
gonna call defensive pass interference.

Speaker 3 (55:22):
And it's sky Moore who got into the end zone.
But if it's if it's defensive pass interference, obviously they're
going to.

Speaker 2 (55:30):
Here is the call. Mahomes look like he looked at
the official before congratulating more and they are gonna call touchdown.
So there it is. So the Chiefs get on the
board finally with just seconds to go in the first half,
take a six to three lead, waiting on the extra
point in Jacksonville. All right, we got some good games.

Speaker 5 (55:51):
Going on to that in Atlanta to Drake London.

Speaker 2 (55:54):
Oh so, Drake London gets in the former USC Stars
so the Falcons are an extra point way of Tenny
that game up at ten. Yes. Drake London, who's last
season at USC was cut short with an unfortunate injury.

Speaker 4 (56:08):
I'm very on fire that season too. I mean he
was gonna get the blittan a cough.

Speaker 3 (56:12):
Oh yeah, I'm gonna say this, guys, don't sleep on
Desmond Ritter.

Speaker 2 (56:17):
I I know it's early in the season. I loved
him at Cincin.

Speaker 4 (56:21):
He's got so many weapons around him, and that's what
you want with a young quarterback like that. Vijon, Yeah, London,
Kyle Pitts Algier like they've made him very comfortable there.

Speaker 3 (56:30):
Yeah, Bijeon is I mean if he if he does
anything near what he did with the Longhorns, he's going
to be absolutely insane.

Speaker 2 (56:38):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (56:39):
But London, and then you look at the other backs
out of that backfield. I mean, he's got weapons and
Arthur Smith knows how to run this style offense where
you're going to run a lot, You're gonna run the football,
you're gonna run the air out of the game, but
then you're gonna hit teams with play action. There's great
creativity down near the goal line. We saw this with
Derrick Henry and Ryan Tannehill in that offen with Aj

(57:00):
Brown in Tennessee before getting the head coaching job with
the Atlanta Falcons, and he just hasn't really had a
quarterback who can run this offense. Desmond Ritter looks like
he's up for the challenge.

Speaker 2 (57:11):
Lions and Seahawks are at the half. Lions lead by
a score of fourteen to seven. Both quarterbacks playing well.
Gino Smith's sixteen at twenty one hundred and fifty nine yards.
Jared Goff, though, is better twelve of fifteen hundred and
eighty one yards, two touchdowns. A perfect passer rating is
one fifty eight point three. Goff is at one fifty

(57:31):
six point five. Wowsers.

Speaker 4 (57:34):
Something to keep an eye on the Seattle kicker Myers.
Two missed field goals in that first half.

Speaker 3 (57:39):
Yeah, yeah, I saw the one that obviously would have
helped them on the board here as they reach halftime.
But Goff obviously the better of the two quarterbacks in
that game. David Montgomery also having a bit of a
renaissance with the Detroit Lions. He's carried the ball ten
times and has gained forty four yards on the ground.

Speaker 2 (57:57):
We have our first missed excer point, mister kup young waiku.
The Atlanta Falcons, yes, miss the extra points, so instead
of tying the game, oh no, the Falcons trail the
Packers by a score of ten to nine.

Speaker 3 (58:10):
So after the London touchdown, they're trailing by one at home. Okay,
so there's that.

Speaker 2 (58:14):
First miss exer point we always count on every week. Okay,
Actually we've had fewer. I mean last year just seemed
like we had a lot of missed extra points.

Speaker 3 (58:22):
Also, the Jaguars, I mean, they're getting pretty aggressive here.
With twenty seconds left on the clock in this game,
after the Chiefs score, they're now trailing four point seven
to three. Ball game in Jacksonville. Chiefs have the lead.
But you got the ball out near the forty yard
line on your side of the field. You take the
time out, you have twenty seconds left. You take a

(58:42):
deep shot down field and see if you got a
dpi or at very least I mean, or at least
or a reception at most.

Speaker 2 (58:50):
Justin Tucker has kicked a field goal. As the half
has ended, the Ravens lead the Bengals by a score
of thirteen to ten. Lamar Jackson first half stats good
seen at twenty four hundred and forty one yards, no touchdowns,
no picks. He's run for twenty nine yards. Joe Burrow
eight of eleven thirty five yards.

Speaker 3 (59:10):
Oh, I love this. I love what they just did.
So they go up top to Calvin Ridley, the sole
receiver to the left side of the formation. That a
trip's bunch to the right and Trevor Lawrence knew that
he had one on one man coverage to the left
side of the field. And there's a flag on the play.
My guess is it's going to be defensive pass interference

(59:31):
on the Chiefs. So this could be even more for
the Jacks. Here with thirteen seconds left in the half,
a chance to go to the end zone.

Speaker 2 (59:39):
This is a great pass, great catch, but now with
thirteen seconds to go, at least take one shot at
the end zone, even if you end up by the
way Joe Burrow in two games now forty two pass
attempts and he has thrown for one hundred and seventeen yards.
What is going on with Joe Burrow and that Bengals offense?

(59:59):
All right? Seconds to go, JAG's down seven to three.
Quick sideline pass, so that gets the ball inside the
thirty five yard line. That's a fifty one yard field
goal attempt with nine seconds to go. I think they
run one more play. So here's the deal.

Speaker 3 (01:00:13):
So you you could try to get it to the
end zone and then just let your kicker McManus attempt
from fifty one.

Speaker 2 (01:00:23):
Yeah, but you don't throw an in our sit.

Speaker 3 (01:00:24):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:00:25):
Or you just try to closer. Yeah. I again, you're
at home. I just try to get the ball a
little closer. Right second and six, right now, thirty four
yard line, nine seconds to go, two by two formations.
Jack still have a time out. Quick pass over the middle,
gets a couple of yards, and there's that last time out.
Two seconds left in the half. McManus comes on for

(01:00:46):
the field goal attempt.

Speaker 5 (01:00:47):
And all this the Colts also scored again again. Yeah,
Gardner Minshew to Granson a tight end.

Speaker 4 (01:00:54):
It looks like Gardner Minshew back once more. You can't
keep him off the feet.

Speaker 2 (01:00:57):
I'll tell you what. It's Minshew madness and I'm here
for it. Eleven to thirteen and fourteen yards and a
score for Minshew. I love the mullet, I love the
facial he's got. He is covered in here.

Speaker 8 (01:01:08):
Now.

Speaker 2 (01:01:08):
I love I love the attitude.

Speaker 3 (01:01:11):
I mean, I mean inject Gardner Minshew, and all of
our veins will all be better for it.

Speaker 4 (01:01:15):
It's like the Green Power Ranger. He just shows up
and you know you're gonna have a fun time here.

Speaker 2 (01:01:19):
Here's bad news. I'm mold you can't get rid of them.
Two hundred and sixty total yards in the first half
of the Colts in Houston, Texans not.

Speaker 3 (01:01:28):
Good Demko Ryans defensive Guru from the San Francisco forty nine.
Or you can't fix it in a year. That's what
that's telling you. But yeah, we have some other halftime scores.
Top Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:01:42):
Chargers at the half leading the Titans by a score
of fourteen to tim. I'll tell you what. Let's let's
turn it over right now once again. We are Progressive Insurance.

(01:02:02):
what's trending right now. She can tell us everything. We
could take a rest for a second here, as Mancy belanyas, Yeah.

Speaker 7 (01:02:08):
Has it ever happened that all games actually go into
halftime at the same time?

Speaker 2 (01:02:12):
I mean literally with any second right games.

Speaker 7 (01:02:15):
It's never happened. So all of the games are at halftime.
And it is official that Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson is
not returning to the game. He has a concussion. But
things seem to be going okay with Gardner Minshew, as
you just mentioned he kind of stepped in eleven of thirteen,
one hundred and fourteen yards. He's got a touchdown already.
The Colts beating the Texans on the road twenty eight

(01:02:36):
to ten. The Chiefs half. This is interesting. They don't
look great. You think they miss Eric b Enemy, Like,
what is it is? It's just weird that like Patrick
Mahomes doesn't look like Patrick mule.

Speaker 2 (01:02:48):
Well, first of all, Kelsey is back, but he's not.

Speaker 7 (01:02:51):
But he's not right. Yeah, it's just a weird looking
game so far. The Chiefs though, holding on to a
one point lead because the jack Wars just had a
field goals. So it's seven six at halftime. Patrick Mahomes
one hundred and forty four yards a touchdown and an
interception so far, the Buccaneers beating the Bears at home
thirteen to ten. Baker Mainfield not too shabby, two hundred
and two yards. But Rashad White, who has ten carries

(01:03:13):
forty four yards and a touchdown for the Buccaneers. The
Chargers beating the Titans on the road fourteen to ten.
Justin Herber eleven of eighteen, one hundred and sixteen yards
and one touchdown. The Lions held on to their lead,
and they're beating the Seahawks fourteen to seven. Jared Goff
one hundred and eighty yards, two touchdowns, David Montgomery ten
carries forty four yards for Detroit. And the Bengals and

(01:03:36):
the Ravens is a low scoring one. Another interesting, you
were just talking about Joe Burrow, but the Ravens are
up thirteen to ten at halftime. The Bills, Yes, Josh
Allen looks a little bit better than last time, that's
for sure. Eighteen of twenty one, one hundred and forty
two yards and two touchdowns. He has been sacked one time.
Bill's beating the Raiders twenty one to ten, and the
Packers are up on the Falcons. You know that's why Hey,

(01:04:00):
fantasy football guys. Last week, Drake London gave me a
big fat zero. So I was mad and I benched him,
and has he shown me? Because he already scored a touchdown?
So this is why, Hey, fancy, I know. I was like, stupid,
Drake Linden. I told my boyfriend that I benched him
this morning, and he's like, that'll show him, like he knows.
I was like, oh man, I'm benching him.

Speaker 3 (01:04:18):
Actually, I know your boyfriend in here. But Drake London pregame,
he was like, and you know I had heard that
Monty Blom was a Fox Sports radio bench. Yeah, so
I he actually said, I'll show her.

Speaker 7 (01:04:33):
I was just so upset. I lost that league by
like seven points and he had zero. So it was like,
I'm so mad. But he's already scored four receptions thirty
nine yards of touchdown and the Packers are beating the
Falcons though by one point. It's ten to nine. What
a day already. I'm gonna give you a little bit
of baseball action, because you know, the Marlins are trying

(01:04:54):
to get into the final walkcard spot in the National League,
and right now they're being the hottest dem in baseball
the Braves five zero at home. Bottom of the third inning.
The Reds right now have the last wald card spot
in the National League, tied with the Diamondbacks, and the
Reds right now are losing to the Mets on the
road three to one, bottom of the third inning. Rangers,

(01:05:15):
we know that AL West race is very tight. The
Rangers and the Guardians are tied at winn apiece bottom
of the fourth inning. Ash Chosen Royals are scoreless in
the top of the second Back to you guys.

Speaker 2 (01:05:25):
Yeah, Otani season is over. They cleared out his locker
and he has done as an angel. Their GM said, look,
based on where we were at the trade deadline, I
think we made the right choice. I would have done it,
but you know it's a disaster. I mean, they're gonna
get nothing for Otani. Meanwhile, watching the Dodgers, they clinched
last night again, their tenth NL West title in the
last eleven years. Yeah, every time I see these champagne

(01:05:47):
celebrations for winning a division title only in baseball? Oh,
I know, I mean, you don't see that in other sports.
I don't know what. No, when you clinch a playoff spot.
Did the Patriots have a champagne shower in the locker room.

Speaker 3 (01:05:59):
Now clinching a playoff spot, hats and T shirts, that's
what you get. You get hats and literally it's for
mostly throughout the league. That's how you celebrate. It's T
shirts and hats time and and you and you get
one for a wild card, birth one in baseball division,
win one for a championship, and then Super Bowl. You know,
you get the party and you get that.

Speaker 2 (01:06:18):
I remember one year being at then Staple Center when
the Lakers won the Western Conference Finals and they were
handed this trophy and they literally walked off the court
and left the trophy beyond. And I've asked them, I go,
where are those trophies? People are like, I have no idea,
But in baseball, they just love to celebrate.

Speaker 4 (01:06:36):
I've won the AFC West and all I got was
this lousy T shirt.

Speaker 3 (01:06:39):
One hundred percent that's exactly what you get T shirts.
And I'll tell you those would be actually, I don't know,
decent keepsakes for like my kids or my grandkids.

Speaker 2 (01:06:50):
One day. I have no idea where they are.

Speaker 3 (01:06:52):
I mean they are, they are less than that, I
mean they are. I would actually rather champagne. I would yeah,
actually sounds like fun.

Speaker 4 (01:07:01):
Yeah, well, I always wonder about those for like the
AFC Champions and NFC champion shirts, like where do those go?

Speaker 3 (01:07:06):
Oh?

Speaker 2 (01:07:06):
No, no, no. Rich always has the great story when he
got his Super Bowl ring losing to the Giants.

Speaker 3 (01:07:12):
He like, what the hell is this? I was playing
for the Arizona Cardinals. This is a one hundred percent
true story. I was playing for the Arizona Cardinals and
one day in mid October, all of a sudden, I
get like a sign for delivery, like they ring the
bell a bunch of times. They're like no, no, no,
you're coming out here and you're talking to me, and
I think I even like said through the.

Speaker 2 (01:07:34):
Door, like oh, you can leave it. He was like, no, man,
I need you to sign.

Speaker 3 (01:07:37):
I'm like all right, So I signed it. I bring
it into the kitchen and it's from the Patriots.

Speaker 2 (01:07:42):
I'm like, this is weird.

Speaker 3 (01:07:43):
So I open it up and I'm like, did they
forget we lost the Super Bowl? Did they make a mistake?
They gave me a ring, I mean a giant ring
with a bunch of diamonds out of the Patriots logo,
and I'm like, what the hell is this for and
then I read the little note from Robert Kraft. He
gave us rings for when the AFC Championship game over
the Raven.

Speaker 2 (01:08:02):
Yeah. I was like, are you kidding? Have you ever
worn that ring? I wore it that day.

Speaker 3 (01:08:08):
I think I put it on again later that day
to show and my wife. Yeah, and then since then
it's been in storage.

Speaker 11 (01:08:15):
Ye.

Speaker 2 (01:08:15):
I mean it's got value of Yeah, but I mean,
what do you do with it? If I wear it?
People say?

Speaker 7 (01:08:21):
Whoa cool?

Speaker 2 (01:08:23):
Is that a Super Bowl ring?

Speaker 3 (01:08:24):
And I'll have to say, no, super Bowl lose it
lost super Bowl.

Speaker 2 (01:08:31):
We were big favorites and.

Speaker 4 (01:08:32):
We love not the start to the second half, the
Lions want David Montgomery fumbles the ball and a few
plays later the Seattle Seahawks have tied the game up.

Speaker 2 (01:08:42):
All right, you got to listen to me sometime, Chris,
I told you about this.

Speaker 3 (01:08:45):
Hey.

Speaker 2 (01:08:45):
By the way, since all these games pretty much at
a half time, Jets Cowboys coming up a little bit
later on. Cowboys are a healthy eight and a half
point favorite. Obviously, they destroyed the Giants. Most people think
they'll destroy the Jets. I'm not so sure. I think
this Jets team showed a lot in that second half
comeback against the Bills. This is one of the best

(01:09:06):
defenses in the league. They got a two headed monster
at running back. Yeah. All you at this point want
from Zach Wilson is don't lose us the game. And
this was the formula they used with Mark Sanchez. Yes,
you know, back in the day where they got to
back to back AFC championship games. They had a tremendous defense,
they had a great running game, and they had a
young quarterback and they're just like, don't lose us the game. Yep. Yeah,

(01:09:28):
I mean what do you do with Zach Wilson right now?

Speaker 3 (01:09:30):
With Danian Tomlinson in the waning years of his career
played some great football for the for the Jets. Back then,
they had a decent receiving crew. They had, I mean,
they had everything hemmed up. It was it was legit.
Just manage this, manage it. Don't don't throw, don't throw interceptions,
don't make mistakes, don't bump, don't run into your own offense.

Speaker 2 (01:09:51):
Surprise people today, this is a hell of a defense. Yeah,
I mean a hell of a defense. Look, if I
don't know what the line is right now, it's eight
and a half. I would Dallas at home eight and
a half. I would take the Jets, right, I would
take the Jets. I think that. I think that number.
I don't know, man like well. I mean, you had
the Cowboys forty nothing but right, and I get it.

Speaker 3 (01:10:14):
And it's a very allaring proposition to think they can
do that again. This Jets defense is much better than
that Giants team, yes, and this Jets offense, I believe
is much better than that Giants offense.

Speaker 2 (01:10:25):
Well again, Dak Prescott last week and an after sort
of get him right again after all the interceptions a
year ago, he didn't throw the ball down the field
one hundred and forty three yards passing.

Speaker 3 (01:10:37):
That was it, well, and that was the promise of
Mike McCarthy working with Dak Prescott, is we're going to
be a more vertical team. We're going to expose defenses more.
And I haven't seen it yet, doesn't mean that it
won't be coming soon. And also, let's be very honest
with each other. When you have a lead that is
also partially inflated by your defense and special teams, a

(01:10:58):
block kick first score, a fumble recovery for a score,
you don't have to do much to sustain. They had
a sixty to nothing lead out the gate, and so
they just continued adding conservatively running the football, which they
had success doing in the short passing game, because why
risk it. So I get it, I completely get it.
But we'll see if they can uncork against this Jets defense.

(01:11:18):
I wouldn't prescribe it, but we'll see if they can.

Speaker 2 (01:11:21):
Well, that's going to be the big question for the
Jets moving forward because everyone's saying they got to go
out and get a quarterback. I mean, we've heard a
variety of names being thrown out there, including the likes
of a Tom Brady. So they're just going to go
week to week with Zach Wilson. I mean it is.
As long as he's not a catastrophe and their defense
does their thing and they can run the football, they'll

(01:11:43):
stay with Zach Wilson.

Speaker 3 (01:11:44):
The other thing is this number is low. It's thirty
eight and a half.

Speaker 2 (01:11:50):
Yes, that's a low over runner.

Speaker 3 (01:11:52):
I will say this though, I'm leaning toward the under.
And the reason being is, look, if you don't think
the Jets are gonna get to Dak and make them
uncomfortable a game, you got another thing coming, same thing
with this Dallas pass rush against this Jets offensive line.
I don't trust the Jets offensive line. In fact, I
trust Zach Wilson a tick more than I trust the

(01:12:13):
offensive line. So this could be one of those pitchers
duels and man where the defenses are kind of shutting
each other out. I think it'll look more like, for example,
what you're seeing out of the Chiefs Jacks, like a
little bit of a field position game, some turnovers, some
sloppy play from both offenses, a halftime score of seven

(01:12:35):
to seven, seven to six, maybe ten to seven, something
like that in Dallas between the Jets and the Cowboys.

Speaker 2 (01:12:42):
Okay, the Joe Burrow situation was bad last week. It's
worse today because he hasn't been sacked in this game
by the Ravens. He's thrown for thirty five yards. They
have sixty three yards of offense in the first half.
They have no offense at all. What is going on here?
I mean, this is Joe Burrow, Rich's contract in NFL history.

(01:13:06):
We're talking yesterday for and I about this whole thing Rich,
where we said the timing of the signing of that
contract literally the day before the season began.

Speaker 1 (01:13:15):
Not good.

Speaker 2 (01:13:16):
Not good. This is something that has to be taken
care of long before the knocking on the door of
the start of the season. But there is something amiss
big time because the Joe Burrow we saw last week
was under siege. That Joe Burrow we're seeing right now,
he's just dumping off pass us. He is not throwing
down the field. Watching him right now scrambling and he

(01:13:38):
can't get the pass off.

Speaker 3 (01:13:39):
Well, that's a good decision by Joe Burrow because look,
it's not going well for him through the air, so
get what you again. On the ground looks he's a
he's not an athlete like you wouldn't think of him
as Lamar Jackson. But a great move to evade some
pressure in the pocket and he had some grass on
the sideline and so he got himself out of bounds.
I look at I look at the problems that they have.

(01:14:03):
He's one of ten so far passing beyond ten yards
of the line of scrimmage. I mean that's a huge problem.
And they've only attempted one pass so far in the
first half the Cincinnati Bengals of more than ten yards
and he missed on that one Jamar Chase.

Speaker 2 (01:14:17):
How many people have Jamar Chase and their fantasy football
team one catch, zero yards. That's not helping the cause.
All right, We'll continue on much more coming up. Second
halfs are underway. This is Fox Sports Red Zone Radio,
Kansas City.

Speaker 3 (01:14:30):
First down and goal to go with the nine Mahomes
coming to the near side, passes clockbit.

Speaker 9 (01:14:35):
Sky more touchdown Chansas City.

Speaker 2 (01:14:40):
That's the Cheez Radio Network, and the Chiefs have scored again,
touchdown pass two Travis Kelcey. He's in the end zone.
So the Chiefs now have opened up a fourteen to
six lead over the Jacksonville Jaguars eleven and a half
minutes to go in the third quarter in that game.
This is Fox Sports Red Zone Radio. We are live
from the the tai iraq dot com studios and we

(01:15:04):
had some really entertaining games so far, and I'm gonna
guess rich the eight games going on right now, we're
gonna have a few of these games coming down to
the wire. The Detroit Lions leading twenty one to fourteen
over the Seattle Seahawks, and again Jared Goff has had
an incredible game so far. Sixteen and nineteen two hundred

(01:15:25):
and twenty nine yards, two touchdowns and a score. Meanwhile,
we're watching the Bengals and they've been driving against the Ravens. Here,
Ravens leading by a score of thirteen to ten, but
unfortunately an interception thrown by Joe Burrow said, they were
just sort of, you know, picking along little short passes.

(01:15:46):
They got a nice swing pass to Joe Mixon the
won for big yards. After that, it was just a
little dink and dunk, all this left right, left, right,
and then Borrow throws the interception.

Speaker 3 (01:15:56):
Yeah, yeah, I mean it looked like they were gonna
put together a little bit of a drive there, but
it gets stalled unfortunately. How about David Montgomery though, Yeah,
I mean the season that he's having already. Again, short
sample size, but fifteen rushes on the day, sixty two yards.
Just caught that screen pass from Jared Goff and pounded

(01:16:16):
his way into the end zone. That was a really
well conceived screen pass. I'm loving the way he's starting
the season. He fits the personality of the Detroit Lions perfectly,
just a physical guy ready to bring it to the defense.
And the Seahawks, who had the embarrassing loss to the Rams.
I don't know if it's really embarrassing when you think
how good the Rams have been over the past half decade,

(01:16:39):
but nobody had high expectations for Los Angeles this season.
They're bouncing back and really struggling on the road against
the Lions.

Speaker 2 (01:16:46):
Jordan Love is starting a touchdown pass to Wis So
the Packers now lead the Falcons by a score of
seventeen to nine. Aaron's wondering, Jordan Love ready well today again?
Outstanding numbers eleven is sixteen, one hundred and twenty four yards,
two touchdowns, zero interceptions. That's a passer rating over one

(01:17:06):
hundred and thirty. So the early returners on Jordan Love promising, Yeah,
put it that way.

Speaker 3 (01:17:12):
Yeah, Yeah, And look, I think when you look around
that offense and you think about what they have in
him and Aaron Jones when he gets back healthy, but
aj Dillon a really competent backup, kind of a secondary
push punch, and Christian Watson when he gets back healthy.
Romeo Dubbs, who he's had a good relationship with in
the passing game.

Speaker 2 (01:17:32):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:17:33):
Look, it's starting to me to coalesce a little bit
in the NFC North right, It looks like it's going
to be a race between the Packers and the Lions.
The Bears aren't ready yet. The Minnesota Vikings are going
to regress to the mean a little bit here. That's
what it's looking.

Speaker 2 (01:17:50):
Like right now. In the NFC North Bill's Leady and
the Raiders by a score of twenty one to ten.
They are now facing a fourth and goal situation. So
the field goal team is on. Nice bounce back game
for Josh Allen. Twenty four of twenty eight hundred and
seventy seven yards, two touchdowns, and most important, zero picks
in this game. So the Bills looking to bounce back

(01:18:12):
after that second half collapse against the Aaron Rodgers. Liz
New York at Jets. Seahawks have the ball right now,
trailing the Lions by a score of twenty one to fourteen.
They're in Seattle territory facing a third down. Gino Smith's
been solid eighteen to twenty two hundred and eighty four yards.
Problem for the Seahawks today, where is the running game?

(01:18:34):
Thirty one yards on the ground.

Speaker 3 (01:18:36):
Yeah, not good enough, especially against a team like this.
You know, they're trying to make this game about Gino
Smith and Frankly, if I were going to beat the
or try to beat the Seattle Seahawks, I would make
it the same way. I would try my hardest to
put the game in Gino Smith's hands and say, hey,
look if he if he's better than our defense, I

(01:18:56):
can sleep. I can live with that, but I'm not
going to let them beat us on the ground. In
the running game, Bengals are threatening to score here against
the Cincinnati Bengals.

Speaker 2 (01:19:05):
Actually, Ravens are ready to score third and goal right
now after that interception. So a third and goal right
now for the Ravens. And again the Bengals were on
the move seemingly in a position to tie the game
or take the lead, and then the interception. So now
on third and goal, little swing pass for the Ravens
and that is going to come up short. Yeah, So

(01:19:25):
fourth and goal with about three yards to go, probably
a field goal attempt coming out.

Speaker 3 (01:19:29):
Sayflowers kind of short motion in and then back out.
How to tight end helping screen the way for him
and did not work.

Speaker 2 (01:19:37):
The Bills have gotten another touchdown pass, this one to
Gabe Davis. So the Bills now extend their lead twenty
seven to ten. Penning the extra point. Looking good in
this matchup against the Raiders. All right, we're halfway home,
but there's a long way to go on this NFL Sunday.
Keep it right here. This is Fox Sports Red Zone Radio.

Speaker 4 (01:19:58):
Play fake op right side.

Speaker 9 (01:20:00):
Tannehill keeps five inze okay Titan, Ryan Tannehill.

Speaker 2 (01:20:08):
But the old Southwest Conference footing take you get around
right in. That's WGFX one oh four point five Titans
Radio Network. And with that Ryan tannehill twelve yard touchdown run,
the Titans have a seventeen to fourteen lead over the
Los Angeles Chargers, two thirty nine to go in the
third quarter of This is Fox Sports Red Zone Radio.

Tyrack dot com. We're gonna help get you there an
unmatched selection, fast reshipping, free road ads for protection, over
ten thousand recommended installers tire rack dot com. The way
tire buying should be so, Ryan Tannehill. It's been sacked
four times for forty yards and losses. That is a

(01:20:50):
big number. But he's throwing the ball well thirteen to
seventeen hundred and fifty two yards. Dereck Henry is starting
to heat up a little bit sixty one yards on
the ground. Kella moorere taking over, is the offensive coordinator
of the Chargers rich and they're really bent on trying
to get a little more balance in their offense. They's
thrown twenty passes, run the ball fifteen times, but they

(01:21:12):
only have one hundred and seventy two total yards in
this game. And I like, I understand you want to
have some balance, but when you got Justin Herbert a quarterback,
I want him throwing the football.

Speaker 3 (01:21:25):
Yeah, I hear you, and trust me when I tell
you I agree, especially in today's game, that when you
have a special quarterback, you want to highlight that special quarterback.

Speaker 2 (01:21:37):
But just win.

Speaker 3 (01:21:39):
Like, honestly, it doesn't matter what way you get w's,
just get w's. Like Dak Prescott, a lot of people
were saying, well, he had a slow night, you know
in the opener, It's like, well, who cares. I mean,
because you were leading by sixteen to nothing early in
that game. Run the football. I mean, just just take
take time off the clock every time you possess it,

(01:21:59):
and spend a lot of time in the huddle and
do all those things. Yeah, it's just gonna be a
slower knight for your quarterback. However, now trailing by three,
you find yourself in a situation where you're gonna have
to uncork it a little bit. And that's the reason
why they made a change that offensive coordinator. They want
to see more out of this offense. They want to
allow this this guy who's a Ferrari, to really see

(01:22:21):
how hard you could rev this engine. And here's the opportunity.

Speaker 2 (01:22:25):
Joe Burrow trying to get this Bengal offense going. They
trail the Ravens by a score of twenty to ten.
They're at the nineteen yard line right now. Of the Ravens.
They had to pass the T Higgins he was out
of bounds. So this has just been painful in the
in terms of just trying to get the ball down
the field. They just even now just little swing passes

(01:22:46):
to their wide receivers. Jamark Chase just cut a little
swing pass and they have had one pass over twenty
yards and that was to the running back. Joe Mixon
had that thirty two yard gain. T Higgins' longest receeven
eighteen yards. I just think Jamark Chase thirteen yards. Their
gun shot this offense. I mean the tyler boy twelve yards.

Speaker 3 (01:23:07):
The way they're calling this game, they just don't want
Joe Burrow to spend a lot of time in the pocket.
They're worried about him getting hit. And so this is
a very horizontal game from a team that's usually very vertical.
They're throwing it to the sideline, quick outs, short crossing patterns,
screen passes, flares, and flat routes to their backfield. Jamar
Chase just caught another pass which was just a little

(01:23:29):
out route for about four yards in the first I.

Speaker 2 (01:23:31):
Think there's going to be a penalty though on the
Ravens is his helmet was ripped off.

Speaker 3 (01:23:36):
That'd be a face mask most likely, and that's a
personal foul. They'll go half the distance to the goal here.

Speaker 2 (01:23:42):
Actually it was roughing the quarterback is what they got
called for. So Joe Burrow took a hit after the pass,
So roughing the quarterback will place the ball half the
distance to the goal line. So the Bengals are knocking
on the door, down twenty to ten to the Ravens
inside five minutes to go in the third quarter. There
the Lions are leading the Seahawks twenty one to seven.

(01:24:04):
We got two minutes to go in the third quarter
and that game. Meanwhile, the Chargers we mentioned, down seventeen
to fourteen to the Titans, and they have the ball
right now, so we'll keep all right on the Chargers. There.
One game we have spent zero time talking about rich
is the Bears and the Buccaneers. And the Buccaneers are
up twenty to ten. And remember they won last week

(01:24:25):
against Minnesota. So you know, Baker Mayfield nineteen of twenty six,
two hundred and seventy three yards a score, no picks,
Tampa Bay.

Speaker 3 (01:24:35):
Okay, go go two and oh, yes they could, and
I'm impressed. I'm impressed at their two and oh a
wins a win in this league. But you gotta think
about the competition, all right. You're talking about an oh
and two Vikings team soon to be oho and two
Bears team, and I guess guess what at the hands
one of those losses at the hands of the Tampa
Bay Buccaneers both times. But these are two particularly dreadful

(01:24:58):
defenses we're talking about are gonna have a hard time
stopping anybody this year. They did not replace a lot
of the exiting free agents, and the Bear same thing.
That's the weakest part of their teams their defense. So
the Buccaneers, I don't know if offensively they've been challenged
quite the same way they will in a week when
they face the Eagles, but at least you draw them

(01:25:19):
at home. They're gonna host the Philadelphia Eagles, and we're
gonna have two undefeated teams early in this season. One's
gotta leave with a loss.

Speaker 2 (01:25:28):
Anybody got Mike Evans on their fantasy football team, how's
he looking? Five catches, one hundred and sixty five yards
and a touchdown in this game for Tampa Bay.

Speaker 3 (01:25:38):
Okay, now I'll pause for a second because I want
to go to our resident Philadelphia Eagles fans with the
way that Baker Mayfield's playing and this Tampa Bay Buccaneers
have rallied around Baker Tampa Baker is a thing.

Speaker 2 (01:25:50):
Touchdown Bengals, So.

Speaker 3 (01:25:52):
Are you scared about facing Tampa in their home territory
down there in Tampa Bay?

Speaker 1 (01:25:57):
Uh?

Speaker 5 (01:25:58):
No, But it's unfair to ask this because I also
love Baker Mayfield to deaths, So yeah, I'm very happy
to see him performing well using between.

Speaker 2 (01:26:06):
Two suns between hurts and Mayfi.

Speaker 5 (01:26:08):
Yeah, I don't like the way the Eagles have looked,
but they're two and oero. Man, you can't really complain, no,
you can't.

Speaker 2 (01:26:13):
All right, we got Joe Burrow to T Higgins touchdown Bengals,
so they're an extra point of way to make it
a twenty to seventeen game. That was a huge drive
for the Bengals, you know, after an interception by Burrow
led to a shortened field touchdown drive by the Ravens.
They answer back.

Speaker 3 (01:26:29):
Thirteen plays seventy five yards. Methodical. Yeah, they're majoring in
the past, you know, and they're just throwing it out
to the sidelines. They're throwing these short routes. I was
just a little fade to t Higgins, a nice mismatch
for them in the end zone. The Ravens right now
are shy one corner and so they said, okay, we'll
attack the backup and that's exactly what they did. And

(01:26:51):
a successful drive from this offense that's really struggled to
get anything going today against this Ravens defense.

Speaker 2 (01:26:58):
All right, entered the third quarter right now, Titans lead
the Chargers seventeen to fourteen. But the Chargers have the
ball first and ten at the Tennessee sixteen yard line.
This is this is tough. You got two oho to
one teams, you know, I know, it's a seventeen game schedule,
and you're like, well, how big is Week two? You
don't want to go oh two.

Speaker 3 (01:27:18):
No, you don't because the percentages are wildly against you
making the postseason with an zero to two start. I mean,
this has been the same every single year. It's something
like ten or eleven percent chance of going to the
postseason after starting behind the eight ball like that. And
when you look forward, I mean for both of these teams,
but for the Chargers, you gotta go to a smarting

(01:27:40):
Vikings on the road. Okay, you gotta go face Minnesota,
who's hungry for a win. The Raiders, I think, have
looked pretty good to start the season. You host them,
and then you get into Cowboys and then the Chiefs.
You have respite with the Bears, but then you go
all the way to New York and face the Jets.
In that defense, you gotta start stacking up some wins here.

Speaker 2 (01:27:59):
If you're the Charger Colts dominating today, this is the
blowout game of the day. They lead the Texans thirty
one to ten. We got inside six minutes to go
on the third quarter. The story here Anthony Richardson scored
a couple of touchdowns on the ground, but he went
out with a concussion. Gardner Minshew took over and all
he's done rich is sixteen to twenty one hundred and

(01:28:20):
sixty yards a touchdown, no picks as a passer rating
won sixteen plus.

Speaker 3 (01:28:24):
Yeah, look, Minshew, the madness was real a couple of
years ago, and the guy can still ball a little bit.
I look, what do you want out of your backup
quarterback these days in the NFL? You don't want it
to be a competition. You don't want to bring in
a guy who's going to threaten your starter. That's not
what any offensive coordinator wants. That's not what any starting

(01:28:46):
quarterback wants. What they want is a guy who can
be a great locker room presence, somebody who's going to
help the starter get better. Somebody's going to smooth things
over for him when things are going bad in a
game on the sideline, getting his year, calm him down
a little bit. That's what Gardner Minshew is doing for
Anthony Richardson, who's having a brilliant start to his career,

(01:29:06):
but he's been hurt twice and taking off the field
in two consecutive games with head injury and knee injury concerns.
So Gardner Minshew going in there and filling in the
way he is, it's admirable, if not great for the
Indianapolis Colts.

Speaker 2 (01:29:20):
All Right, Chris Jones, you know he mentioned the fact
that we had Kelsey and Jones back for the Chiefs. Kelsey,
after a slow start, finally gets in the end zone
for a touchdown, and now Chris Jones on a third
down pass knocks down the pass that Trevor Lawrence.

Speaker 5 (01:29:33):
We'll also have a Charger touchdown.

Speaker 2 (01:29:35):
Both these guys making their presence fat and the Chargers
have gotten in the end zone to start this fourth quarter.
It is a to Keenan Allen. Yeah, so that's a
second touchdown pass where Keenan Allen he has six catches
eighty six yards and the two scores. So Chargers retake
the lead twenty one to seventeen just the start of

(01:29:55):
the fourth quarter in that game against the Titans. We're
brought to you by Progressive Insurance. Aggressive makes bundling easy
and affordable. Get a multi policy discount by combining your motorcycle, RV, boat,
ATV and more. All your protection one place, bundle and

continue on any of the fourth quarter. We got eight
games going on around the National Football League. We keep

(01:30:17):
you updated. This it's Fox Sports Red Zone Radio. So
now the Buccanteers are going to have to overcome third
down and long third down at.

Speaker 7 (01:30:24):
Fourteen, need to reach the eighteen.

Speaker 2 (01:30:27):
Yard line to hang on to the ball. Efty Bakfield.
Mayfield takes a low stand books up field to the
favor out to the sideline toward the end zone.

Speaker 9 (01:30:34):
Cockball Cockboll tucks down Tampa Bay. Why the Covens well,
another huge draft fire the Cannons.

Speaker 2 (01:30:41):
The Bucks score TD. That's ninety eight Rock Buccaneers Radio Network.
Buccaneers lead the Bears twenty to ten inside fourteen minutes
to go in the fourth quarter. Baker Mayfield two hundred
and eighty five yards passing. We mentioned Mike Evans five
catches one hundred and sixty five yards and that score.
This is Fox Sports Red Zone Radio. We are alive

(01:31:01):
from the Tiraq dot Com studios. I got a lot
of things going on right Now, the Lions are leading
the Seahawks twenty one to seventeen, twelve minutes to go
in the fourth quarter. Seahawks have a third and ten
at the Detroit seventeen yard line. Meanwhile, the Packers have
up their lead to twenty four to twelve over the Falcons.

(01:31:23):
Jordan Love has three touchdown passes in this game for
the Packers. He is looking really really good. Meanwhile, we
had a Bengals player on the ground. Ravens have the
ball and they're in Cincinnati territory. Ravens lead the Bengals
just the start of the fourth quarter by a score
of twenty to seventeen. So we've got some things happening

(01:31:44):
right now. Also, the Texans second and goal at the
two yard line. They're down bigvill the Colts thirty one
to ten, but they're just trying to get into the
end zone to make it respectful. And of course the
Jags are sitting there right now with that second and
five Chiefs eleven yard line. Entered the third quarter now
and the Jags trailing the Chiefs by a score of

(01:32:06):
fourteen to six.

Speaker 3 (01:32:07):
Yeah, you know you started with Love, so I want
to start there too. Jordan Love what you're seeing is maturity.
What you're seeing is a quarterback who in it look
in theory, when you're backing up a Hall of Famer,
you should have absorbed a lot. You're watching one of
the greatest players in the game execute, so you should

(01:32:28):
have learned a lot well that theory, at least in
the proof of concept we have through now three starts.
He had one start last season with the Green Bay
Packers and two so far this season. It's looking real
like he looks like a mature, more veteran quarterback. And
even though this is his first year, it's his season

(01:32:48):
debut as a starter for this Green Bay Packers team
who everybody had pretty low expectations for. Outside their defense,
you know a lot of question marks. Offensively, he's he's
really got command of this offense. And also something that
I'm noticing him that's very Aaron Rodgers esque is he
can throw from multiple platforms, like so it's not just
always over the top, you know, ear hole to over

(01:33:09):
the top. Sometimes he's falling backwards and he's throwing a
little sidearm. You've seen number twelve in a Green Bay
Packer jersey do year after year after year, he's also
throwing some of these routes. He's just throwing them around
defenders understanding like, not only do I need to worry
about where the coverage is and where my receiver is
and the timing of routes, but also where the rush is.

(01:33:30):
These are things that are lost on young quarterbacks, and
Jordan loves having an easy time of it now in
his third year.

Speaker 2 (01:33:37):
All right, we have is that a touchdown or out
of the back of the end zone for Jacksonville? It
was close. Wow, it was clicking in five throw and
Laurence he did not get both feed down. It was close.
Watch this catch right here. He catches the ball one
foot Oh nope, he didn't get the second foot down.

(01:33:58):
So incomplate in the back of the end zone. Just
the start of the fourth quarter. There Chiefs lead the
Jags fourteen to six. Wave a third and five for
the Jags right now at the Kansas City eleven yard line. Meanwhile,
we update on the Titans and the Chargers. Titans get
the ball back. They're trailing the Chargers twenty one to seventeen,
eleven minutes to go on the fourth quarter. They start

(01:34:20):
deep in their own territory right here's a third down
play for the Jaguars, and Lawrence throws to the end
zone incomplete. Oh, we're gonna get a flag. Yep, there
it is.

Speaker 3 (01:34:29):
It's Pi on the Chiefs right there as he was
targeting Evan Ingram on the goat in turnaround sideline. Yep,
didn't turn around. Yeah, you gotta look for the football
and air. Andy Reid, looking despondent on the sideline, doesn't
believe the call. But on third down, the Chiefs give
up a huge penalty and so the Jacksonville Jaguars is

(01:34:50):
gonna have a fresh set of downs inside the ten
yard line.

Speaker 2 (01:34:53):
All right. I was wondering why Chris has been so quiet.
I know now Seahawks touchdown pass that was a Smith
to Tyler Lockett. So we're an extra point away. The
Seahawks have a twenty three to twenty one lead, again
witting on that extra points. So there you go, twenty
four to twenty one, ten and a half minutes to
go in the fourth quarter in that game.

Speaker 3 (01:35:13):
On here we go, hang on first and goal opportunity
from the one yard line for the Jacksonville Jaguars. They're
in a tight set and it is a naked boot
and it is not run.

Speaker 2 (01:35:23):
Here's why I don't understead. Here's what I don't understand
about that play. The Eagles do this every single time.
Now with the push. Yeah, you have Trevor Lawrence who
was six foot six, yep, and you're gonna run him
wide at the goal line. Jo just sneak it. I mean,
now you lost three yards on that play. That is
an idiotic call by THEO. Say they've got a six

(01:35:46):
foot six quarterback and you're allowed to push him into
the end.

Speaker 3 (01:35:49):
So I'll say this in Doug Peterson's defense. When those
work where you completely fool the defense and everybody goes
front side, flow side to the to the side of
the pass, you have a quarterback.

Speaker 2 (01:36:01):
All alone running it in the end zone. It is
really cool. Yeah, guess what, running wide at the ends
and the goal line is not a good situation with
your quarterback. All right, he's gonna throw the end zone
that's out of the back of the end zone. No
score there.

Speaker 3 (01:36:14):
So I got really just took his biggest shot of
the day from the upright and he's clutching.

Speaker 2 (01:36:20):
His right knee. No way.

Speaker 3 (01:36:22):
The trainers are being called onto the field, all right,
he seems to be Oh wow, that was crazy.

Speaker 2 (01:36:28):
So now a third goal. You had first and goal
at the one. Yeah, with a six foot six quarterback,
dang man push him into the end zone. Why don't
more teams do that? Yeah?

Speaker 3 (01:36:39):
Sorry, I was looking at the Ridley play. They are
going to walk them off the field and take a
look at that right knee. That was a scary situation.

Speaker 2 (01:36:45):
Okay. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:36:45):
In terms of Trevor Lawrence, I'm with you. Look, I'm
goofing around talking about it naked boot being cool at.

Speaker 2 (01:36:50):
The goal line.

Speaker 3 (01:36:51):
When you're on the one yard line going in, legitimately,
the only call on your play sheet should be QB sneak,
and then play two should be QB sneak, and then
if you make it to a third down, play three
should be QB sneak touchdown. Ravens, Oh boy, look at this.

Speaker 2 (01:37:12):
That was a beautiful pass by Lamar Jackson to Nelson
Agilo right there. So their lead is now twenty six
to seventeen over the Bengals penning the extra point. We
were talking about zero to two teams. And by the way,
if angles could be in trouble if you.

Speaker 3 (01:37:26):
Don't sneak it successfully, into the end zone after three
tries from.

Speaker 2 (01:37:30):
The one yard line.

Speaker 3 (01:37:31):
On't deserve you fire your offensive line exactly, you just ever,
you just trade them out, get rid of all five
of them, because that would be inexplicable.

Speaker 2 (01:37:38):
All right, So guess what fourth and goal now at
the four yard line. Completely butchered this series, yep, and
so they have to settle for a field goal fourteen
to six. The Chiefs lead, check fake, and the field
goal is missed. No, no, he barely got it, got
snuck in the right opera. Ooof yeah, woof. So was
that McManus. Yeah, that's McManus. Their twenty two yardfield goals.

(01:38:02):
So the Jags now trailed the Chiefs fourteen to nine.
But again, why are the Eagles the only team since
it's allowed to go full push? You know, they get
Jalen Hurts, They get two people literally on his butt, no, no,
shoving him into the end zone.

Speaker 3 (01:38:17):
We just saw the Buffalo Bills do this earlier in
their game against Las Vegas. You know, you have a
big quarterback like Josh Allen, same thing. You put a
back or two backs too behind him, and you just
just the tush push man. Just get them, get them
over the.

Speaker 2 (01:38:33):
I know the league was discussing whether or not to
outlaw that play, but they decided no. Yeah, so it's
in the books. Use it.

Speaker 3 (01:38:41):
Just go ahead and put you know, two running backs
right there tight behind, you know, Trevor Lawrence or Jalen
Hurts or Josh Allen or Justin Herbert, and one shoulder
on one cheek, one shoulder on the other cheek, and
then and then just take them for a ride.

Speaker 2 (01:38:56):
That's all all right? The Atlanta Falcons and they're not Yeah,
twenty four to twelve. Packers just started the fourth quarter there,
and Desmond Ritter has just thrown a forty five yard
pass to Mac Hollins to set up a first down
at the Packers. I believe it's twelve yard line right now.
So there they go, Falcons first and ten at the

(01:39:17):
Packers twelve yard line, down by a score of twenty
four to twelve. One game that has not been competitive,
of course I predicted it would be, and it's not been.
And that is the Bills blowing out the Raiders today
thirty one to ten. Jimmy Garoppolo has thrown two interceptions
in this game. Raiders have no running game and Josh

(01:39:37):
Allen has been outstanding today twenty nine to thirty five,
only two hundred and eighteen yards. But here was the key.
Three touchdowns and no picks in this game. So the
Bills have played a clean game, no fumbles, no turnovers,
and that has resulted in what looks like it's going
to be a blowout victory at home against the Raiders.

Speaker 3 (01:39:58):
And this is what happens when you a rush against
the team. When you get Jimmy Garoppolo uncomfortable, as we've
seen in the past, he will rush decision making and
he'll make some questionable throws and he's done it twice
in this game. Both of those passes were well covered,
or I should say through to routes that were well covered,
and as a result, you have two second chance opportunities

(01:40:21):
for an offense that was embarrassed on Monday Night football.
I mean simply embarrassed. Josh Allen played his worst game
as a professional quarterback, and he's come a long way.
Remember where he started and where he's at. This is
the guy who's on the cover of Madden this year.
Where he started was this raw talent out of Wyoming
that everybody was scratching their head, like, Bills, what were

(01:40:41):
you thinking? And they developed him into an all Pro
quarterback and now, yeah, there were some questions about his
play last year, and yeah, there's a lot of pressure
on this Bills team this year and coming out the
gates like that, you're going to talk about a team
on tilt and they're taking it all out on the
Raiders today.

Speaker 2 (01:40:57):
Well again, twenty nine completions for under two and thirty yards.
In other words, take what we can take from the defense,
stop forcing the ball and trying to make that big play,
play conservatively, and that has resulted in a big lead
for the Bills today. Let's find out what is trending
right now as MONSI is ready, so trying to figure

(01:41:19):
out which game or games it's going to give us
an exciting finish. We need an exciting finish today.

Speaker 7 (01:41:25):
Got a couple of close ones, though, we've got a
couple of close ones that can end up exciting. There
are some that are over. You know, the Colts have
been all over the Texans since the beginning. Thirty one
thirteen is a score early in the fourth quarter and
the other one that you just mentioned, Bills all over
the Raiders since the beginning as well, thirty one to
ten halfway through the fourth on that one, Josh Allen

(01:41:46):
definitely different than Week one, but all the other games
are kind of close. The Packers right now are beating
the Falcons. The Falcons just scored though it's twenty four
to nineteen early in the fourth quarter. Desmond Ritter one
hundred and sixty seven yards, a touchdown and an interception
in the air. Bjon Robinson fifteen carries in one hundred
and nine yards. The Ravens are beating the Bengals twenty

(01:42:07):
seven to seventeen. Also early in the fourth quarter. Seahawks
have a slight lead over the Lions. It's twenty four
to twenty one, ten minutes to go in the game.
Lions running back David Montgomery is questionable to return. He
was carted to the locker room with a thigh injury.
He had sixteen carries for sixty seven yards and a touchdown,
so it's questionable to return, and there's about nine and

(01:42:27):
a half minutes to go in the game. The Chargers
and the Titans have been back and forth. LA up
twenty one to seventeen, six minutes left in the game.
Buccaneers way to go, Baker Mayfield three hundred yards in
the air, one touchdown, twenty to ten against the Bears,
ten minutes left in the game. And the Chiefs and
the Jaguars. This one. I have Trevor Lawrence in one
of my fantasy leagues and he is killing me. Chiefs

(01:42:48):
are up fourteen to nine, thirteen minutes to go in
the fourth quarter. And that's the games. That's all the
games I got. I will tell you this that I
read this earlier today. Think it was Adam Schefter who
tweeted this. Since the NFL went to seven playoff team
in each conference in twenty twenty, only one of twenty
three teams to start the season zero to two wound
up reaching the playoffs. What's who's that team? The Bengals

(01:43:10):
in twenty twenty two. So there's hope, is what I'm saying.
There is hope.

Speaker 2 (01:43:14):
Oh, there's hope. I mean, obviously it's a seventeen game season.

Speaker 7 (01:43:18):
Yes, there's a hope. You gave us percentages, yes, yes,
And AP's Top twenty five in college football looks different today, Fellas.
For the first time in eight years, Alabama is out
of the top ten, coming in at number thirteen.

Speaker 2 (01:43:33):
They don't have a quarterback.

Speaker 7 (01:43:35):
Yes, that is correct.

Speaker 2 (01:43:36):
That's really hard when you got three quarterbacks and they're
all equally bad.

Speaker 7 (01:43:40):
Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah yeah. Georgia remained at number one,
Michigan still two, Texas came in at number three, Florida
State and then usc finished the top five. The rest
of the top ten Ohio State six, Pence State seven,
Washington eight, Notre Dame nine, and Oregon.

Speaker 2 (01:43:57):
Tenh those are your top Ucla anywhere in the top ten,
of course, and.

Speaker 7 (01:44:03):
No, not in the top ten. I'll tell you where
if they're anywhere, Ucla is twenty two.

Speaker 2 (01:44:07):
There you go. They moved up a couple of sacks.

Speaker 7 (01:44:09):
Colorado went down. It wasn't Colorado eighteen, but they were nineteen.

Speaker 2 (01:44:14):
Yeah. Well again your twenty five point favorites, and you
escaped in overtime exactly exactly.

Speaker 3 (01:44:19):
You know sometimes sometimes dogs bark.

Speaker 2 (01:44:22):
Yeah, that's exactly what happened with the Colorgda. How you
psyched about your Nitney Allons number seven right now? Do
and they deserve it.

Speaker 3 (01:44:29):
That team is absolutely stacked and drew Aller all right.

Speaker 2 (01:44:33):
We got ourselves a little bit of a Q beat.
Boys and girls. This is I mean, we got a crew,
don't I know. I know it's Sunday.

Speaker 3 (01:44:41):
We have all week long to talk college football. But
I'm pretty pumped.

Speaker 2 (01:44:44):
All right. I'll tell you it's not pumped right now.
Chris the Street got over. Streak's gone and scored again.
It's a fourteen nothing fourth quarter for the Seahawks on
the road against the Lions. And so the Seahawks now
lead by a score of thirty one to twenty one.
And this last score was a pick six Ray Brown

(01:45:10):
that is ugly.

Speaker 4 (01:45:12):
Jared Goff had a streak. I think it was like
three hundred and eighty four pass attempts between interceptions. And
it comes at a very bad time for the Detroit
Lions as injuries mount for the team, and this one's
looking distant and distant here in Ford Field.

Speaker 2 (01:45:27):
I always try to keep a scorecard because I never
bet on anything because I know how bad my picks are.
But that was one of my picks today was Seahawks
plus four and a half because I just I look
at the Lions. What I say at the very top
of the show, it's still Detroit, Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
You know, until you prove otherwise, you don't play your history.

Speaker 3 (01:45:46):
A quick shout out to my brother in law Chris,
who's listening all the way out in Connecticut with my
niece Ella, who said that she's listening to the radio
and she said, Uncle Rich said offense defense, Daddy. That's
exactly right. That's about as good as my analysis Cats.
But he's a huge New England Patriots fan, and they
have a Sunday night football game taking on the Miami Dolphins.

(01:46:07):
Early thoughts on that Mac Jones against two A tongue
of Vai loa.

Speaker 2 (01:46:10):
I again, I'm still waiting to believe that the Patriots
offense is back. They're gonna have to score a lot,
and I know that Belichick is always going to have
a different look. They're not going to see that soft
charger defense they saw Week one. The Dolphins are going
to see something different. But Tyreek Hill, who predicted he'll
have a two thousand yard receiving season, he's always got

(01:46:32):
two hundred plus.

Speaker 4 (01:46:33):
Man.

Speaker 2 (01:46:33):
I'll tell you, I mean, I I like stoppable again.
You go in with a game plan obviously with Tyreek Hill,
but he's one of those guys you can't stop. By
the way go ahead development here, Titans have a first
and goal on the Chargers six yard line. We're inside
four minutes to go. Chargers leave this one. Twenty one
to seventeen. We talked about the Lions being the Lions. Well,

(01:46:56):
the Chargers are the Chargers until they prove otherwise. Now,
first and goal for the Titans. They are at the
six yard line of the Chargers.

Speaker 3 (01:47:05):
Yeah, and by the way, they have they have a guy, yeah,
who's really good at running the football later in games.

Speaker 2 (01:47:12):
And I'm just blanking on this.

Speaker 4 (01:47:13):
All right, So you give him the first goal and
he just runs really hard and he runs people over.

Speaker 2 (01:47:18):
What's his name again? Okay, so you have Derek Henry's
first and goal the six yard don't you think it's
safe to say that if you just run him two
or three times, he should get in the end zone.

Speaker 3 (01:47:28):
I would argue a smart plan would be to give
him the football for three downs and just let him
bang his head off the upright, That would be what
I would do at the goal line with this Titans off.

Speaker 2 (01:47:39):
I'm sure that's not what the Chargers want to see. Meanwhile,
the Bills destroying the Raiders today, that was one of
my really bad picks. Thirty eight to ten now Josh
Allen thirty one to thirty seven, two hundred and seventy
four yards, three touchdowns and no picks. They also have
one hundred and forty six yards rushing. So the Bills
looking good today.

Speaker 3 (01:48:00):
Two consecutive Derrick Henry runs and all of a sudden,
this Titans offense, yeah, is looking at a third and
goal situation.

Speaker 2 (01:48:07):
Two yards out of those two carries. So they listened
to you, and that's what happened. Okay, Okay, Now what
do you do on third and goal at the four
yard line?

Speaker 3 (01:48:15):
Doctor Rich just said the prescription is more Derrick Henry,
So just give Derreck Henry the football. No, they're spreading
it all the way out.

Speaker 2 (01:48:22):
Yeah, they got it spread a single back offense. Let's
see where we're going on this third and goal for
the Titans, and they throw in the end zone and
they had a touchdown, touchdown Titans.

Speaker 3 (01:48:34):
Okay, so they did run a play action fake to Henry,
but they end up throwing it over the top and
they get on the board and all of a sudden,
all of a sudden, Uh oh, this is a ballgame,
Charger fans.

Speaker 2 (01:48:47):
All right, So we got to twenty two to go,
in the fourth quarter, we're waiting on the extra point. Now,
remember last week against the Dolphins, Dolphins scored late and
missed the extra point. Yep, So all of a sudden
you had the Chargers with the ball, minute forty eight
to go down to field goal wins the game, two timeouts.
Here comes Justin Herbert. Oh how about that intentional grounding call?

(01:49:11):
What was that? I was bad? That was bad, man.
He just he's in the pocket and just threw it
to nowhere. Yeah, look, I mean good't do that. Good
quarterbacks panic two And that's what it looked like to me.
So was Nick Westbrook Ikine with the pass for Ryan
Tannehill for four yards. For those of you keeping score
at home, Tennessee now leads twenty four to twenty one

(01:49:32):
in Nashville over the Chargers. Giving up leads late is
something that Chargers fans should be aware is a probability,
not just a possibility when it comes to them in
the fourth quarter. All right, look out, the Bears are
back in it. They have just scored on a Justin
Fields to Claypool pass. So Chase Claypool gets in the
end zone. So the Buccaneers lead is now twenty to

(01:49:55):
seventeen over the Bears. We still got six plus minutes
to go in that game, so that game is far
from over. So we got the Packers with a five
point lead, still eleven minutes to go in that game.
The Bills game is over. Ravens have the ball back.
They're up ten on the Bengals. It is looking bad
for Cincinnati.

Speaker 3 (01:50:16):
Travis Kelsey just got wallowed by three Jacksonville Jaguars defenders
on a jump ball. Patrick Mahomes floats one out to
his tight end on a third down.

Speaker 2 (01:50:26):
Situation his third and goal at Jacksonville's twenty. Yeah, so
penalties pushed them back.

Speaker 3 (01:50:30):
Watch this throw and watch this hit that Travis Kelsey
takes up, elevates and just gets annihilated. But he got
up laughing, so apparently he's no worse for wear. But
it's going to be a field goal for the Chiefs,
who are now still leading. Opportunity to add to the
lead here on.

Speaker 2 (01:50:48):
It's still a one score game even at Bucker His
this field goal attempt, so fourteen to nine right now,
thirty eight yard field goal attempt and the field goal
is good, so seventeen to nine. Still plenty of time
over eight minutes to go in the fourth quarter, but
the Jags down one score.

Speaker 3 (01:51:04):
And Doug Peterson remember back to his days with the
Philadelphia Eagles, he's a gambler. I mean, went for two
point conversions when it wasn't even in style yet, win
for fourth down conversions when people weren't really doing it right.
So they're gonna have a plan for their two point
game here against the Kansas City chief Yes.

Speaker 2 (01:51:22):
Which game is not over yet. That would be the
Colts and the Texans Colts blowing him out thirty one
twenty now and CJ. Stroud, how about these numbers? Rich
twenty of twenty nine, two hundred and fifty eight yards,
two touchdowns, no picks. Well, look, he's a passer.

Speaker 3 (01:51:40):
Yeah, There's one thing we saw in Ohio State is
if you give him a clean pocket and you run
Chris Brouts, and he had plenty of receivers to do
that for him, he's going to get you the football.

Speaker 2 (01:51:50):
That guy can huck the pigskin.

Speaker 3 (01:51:52):
But here's the deal, we just didn't expect the offense
to look all that good because he doesn't have a
lot of playmakers around him. Well, I'll tell you what,
but CJ. Stroud is gonna shine as soon as they
have a team built around him. Long way to go
in Houston, but at least he's doing his part, and
that's a huge, huge benefit to them. Now you look
on the other side of football, Anthony Richardson's not even

(01:52:12):
in the game. He's ruled out with a concussion. He's
not coming back in this one. It's Gardner Minshew the
rest of the way in a game they should win.
But still you have huge question marks on whether or
not Anthony Richardson is gonna play next week. And you
gotta start protecting your young talent better.

Speaker 2 (01:52:27):
All right. On the other side, we're gonna wrap up
a couple of these games, including the game between the
Chargers and the Titans two minute warning. Chargers are at
midfield with a second and one right now, trailing the
Titans by a score of twenty four to twenty one.
This is Fox Sports Red Zone Radio. Golf wants to

(01:52:48):
throw steps up, throws behind it. Set the other way.

Speaker 11 (01:52:53):
Trey Brown, He's gonna go ten five touchdown Seahawks goff
looks out signed one too many times, Dave steerdown at
receiver and Trey Brown was there for the pick six.

Speaker 2 (01:53:08):
All right, it's not that Seahawks radio network right there. The
Seahawks leading at that point thirty one twenty one, but
the Lions get a touchdown back thirty one twenty eight.
Seahawks have the ball two minute warning up there in Detroit.
Once again, we are a Fox Sports Red Zone radio
and we are live from the tirereck dot Com studio.
Oh my god. All right, so I'll tell you what

(01:53:30):
just happened and the Titans. All right, so wait a
third and three at the Titans seven yard line. What happened?

Speaker 3 (01:53:35):
Ball was snapped passing play. Justin Herbert just took like
an eight or nine yard sack against his Tennessee Titans defense.
So to tie it up, Dicker, the kicker, yeah, is
warming up on the field and he has a much
longer look at this game tying field goal.

Speaker 2 (01:53:52):
Well it's still it's only going to be a thirty
two yard field goal. But again, they were going to
try to get in the end zone. So twenty four
to twenty one, Titans, three seconds to go in regulation,
so a field goal will send this into overtime. Oh
my gosh. So again the Titans did call a time out,
and whatever they did during that time out worked, so

(01:54:13):
the Chargers didn't even get a pass off. Herbert has
three hundred and five yards passing in this game. But wow,
all right, so the pressure on right now to tie
this game up and send it into overtime. We're waiting
on the kick. We have multiple games on on our
TVs here. I've had a hard time seeing this one,
so you have to call this one for us BO. Yeah,

(01:54:35):
how's that field goal? Look? Uh, it's up and it
is good. Okay, he made it, he made it.

Speaker 4 (01:54:43):
Oh, you're gonna want to see this Geno Smith sack
somehow that ball went the other way in Seattle Detroit
and Gino Smith took a sack back on his own
four yard Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:54:54):
They're facing a fourth and thirty five right now from
their own three yard line. Oh yeah, yeah, what do
you call from fourth and thirty five from here on three?

Speaker 1 (01:55:02):
Easy?

Speaker 3 (01:55:03):
You can get that just screen, I mean, what else
can you call? I mean, just try to make up
some of those yards? I mean, just absolutely ridiculous. Meanwhile,
the Jacksonville Jaguars are sending to put it. Put together
a little bit of a fourth quarter drive here, just
picked up a fourth or excuse me, a first down.
They're still trailing by eight, seventeen to nine Chiefs over Jags.

Speaker 2 (01:55:23):
Also, we have the Bengals trying to get back in
this game against the Ravens. It's twenty seven seventeen Ravens,
four minutes to go. Third and one for the Bengals
right now at the Ravens seven yard line.

Speaker 3 (01:55:35):
They need a score desperately, no question about it. They're
trailing by ten here. Third down conversions so far three
yards or less, they're six for six, and they're good
for another one. Joe Mixon just lowers the boom and
brings it down. He'll be first and goal inside the
five yard line for Cincinnati. Three point fifty two on
the clock, and it's ticking because clock doesn't stop on

(01:55:56):
a successful first down attempt.

Speaker 2 (01:55:58):
In professional ark football either except inside a two minutes
inside that, which is a fun little wrinkle there. Okay,
So Burrow's scrambling right now, trying to get it in
the end zone, throws it away, all right, So second
and goal coming up for the Bengals down ten. In
this game, you mentioned Jacksonville down seventeen to nine to
the Chiefs, much lower scoring game than some people thought

(01:56:19):
it was going to be. But we got inside five
minutes ago, plenty of time in this one. But Jacksonville
right now with a second and ten and they are
at the fourteen yard line of the Chiefs, so down eight. Obviously,
if they can get in the end zone, we'll see
a two point giver. Ooh, that's always danger. You got

(01:56:40):
to catch the ball man Calvin Ridley on a crossing pattern.
He just in and out of his hands. It sort
of felt like he heard some footsteps there and he
even took a little shot from Reid there. He's walking
off the fields with his hands on his hips. It's
third and ten for Jacksonville, like you said, at the
fourteen yard line of the Chiefs, who lead by eight.
Another game coming down the wire. Falcons and Packers. Falcons

(01:57:01):
got a field goal and they have the ball trailing
the Packers twenty four to twenty two. Desmond Ritters played
well in this game. In fact, they got the ball
into Green Bay territory. There's still six minutes to go
in the fourth quarter. There Falcons with the ball trailing
the Packers by two. All right, third and goal for
the Bengals right now from the four yard line.

Speaker 3 (01:57:23):
Oh, Chris Jones absolutely demolished Trevor Lawrence in the pocket
and his head snaps back on another Chiefs defender and we.

Speaker 2 (01:57:32):
Have a touchdown, Bengals touch down Bengals. T Higgins. There
you go second this Saturday game. Trevor Lawrence. Watch where
his head gets snapped back right there? Wow? Is that dangerous? No,
I mean it's I mean that's incidental contact. I don't
know helmuch.

Speaker 3 (01:57:50):
No, you can't call that, but that his neck is
going to be sore in the morning, good night.

Speaker 2 (01:57:54):
No penalty on the play. So Jones was bringing him down?
That was who else came up with that shot to
the head? Yeah, number ninety seven? All right, So they're
gonna go for it Jacksonville. I don't think the Chiefs
are ready for that. They're gonna call a time out.

Speaker 3 (01:58:08):
Yeah, fourth and ten after the sack. So Jacksonville goes
out there, and I'll tell you what, Trevor Lawrence, he's.

Speaker 2 (01:58:14):
A trooper, dude.

Speaker 3 (01:58:15):
I don't know how he's stole on his feet. And
also Andy Reid took out his challenge flag, so I'm
curious about this. Maybe he's saying he's saying it's a sack. Oh,
I get it, because it was third and ten, and
so Andy Reid saying no, no, no, no, he didn't get
the ball off. So they're saying it's an incomplete pass
and that's the reason why it's third and ten. And

(01:58:37):
I'm assuming, look at this, let's see if his knees
are down when he throws the football.

Speaker 2 (01:58:42):
I think he got the pass off. I think I
agree with you. It's close. So the Bengals extra point
is good. So Ravens lead the Bengals twenty seven to
twenty four. We got three twenty eight to go in
the fourth quarter. In that game, Lions had the ball
at the Seattle twenty four yard line twenty six seconds

(01:59:03):
to go in the fourth quarter. Man, we could have
some multiple overtime games. Cats are back, Yeah, all right.
Chargers get the ball first in the overtime against the
Titans and they're already facing a third and ten from
their own twenty five yard line. So Chargers, we got
a lot of excitement. Yeah, we were wondering if we're

(01:59:24):
gonna have any gave this last week, all right. So again,
it's fourth and ten for the Jaguars at the Cheese
fourteen yard line with four forty seven to go.

Speaker 3 (01:59:33):
Justin Herbert deep downfield incomplete out of bounds, So fourth
and Chargers are punting in overtime. All right, we got
some exciting finishes. Don't you go anywhere for all the latest.
Keep it right here. This is Fox Sports Red Zone Radio.

Speaker 2 (01:59:47):
Beels takes the staff up of the looks up to you,
throws it all up incept picked off by Shack Beart
of the one he's in for a touchdown. Touchdown tapeaway,
where's the takeaway? It's ninety eight Rock Buccaneers Radio Network,
and the game is over. The Buccaneers have defeated the
Bears by a score of twenty seven to seventeen. Baker

(02:00:08):
Mayfield three one hundred and seventeen yards passing as the
Bucks moved to two and zero on the season. The
Bears are oh and two. This is Fox Sports Red

(02:00:30):
The way tire buying should be. All right, we have
two games in overtime right now. The Titans have a
first down at the Chargers thirty seven yard line. Chargers
had the ball first, so the Titans field goal will
end this game. Meanwhile, Seahawks Lions in overtime. Seahawks have
the ball first and they're already facing a third and

(02:00:52):
six at the Seattle forty six yard lines. We got
a couple overtime games. Meanwhile, Jaguars blew their up tunity.
They are trailing the Chiefs seventeen to nine, and the
Chiefs now have the ball inside three minutes to go
in this one. It looks like the Ravens also are
going to come away with a victory against the Bengals.
They got a big first down and they have a

(02:01:14):
chance now to run out the clock, leading the Bengals
by a score of twenty seven to twenty four. And
by the way, Falcons second and nine at the Packers
fifteen yard line. Packers leading the Falcons twenty four to
twenty two. But the Falcons are in a position to

(02:01:35):
take this game away from Green Bay.

Speaker 3 (02:01:37):
Yeah, they're facing a second down situation at home and
they got it close to the ten yard line there,
so a pickup of a few yards there with well,
what are you pointing out?

Speaker 2 (02:01:51):
I'm trying to get Can we get the Chargers game
guys over on the one of these so I can
actually see what's happening with the Titans.

Speaker 3 (02:01:57):
So Tyler Alzier helps the Atlanta foul get closer to
the goal line. But really, I mean they're looking for
a field goal here. I would assume to take the
one point lead if all else foils inside of two
minutes to play, If you could get this first down,
well then obviously you can probably wean off the remaining
clock before kicking that field goal for the win.

Speaker 2 (02:02:18):
All right, Nick Folk is coming on the field for
the Titans right now. The ball is at the twenty
five yard line of the Chargers twenty four yard line,
so it's a third down play. Playing it smart here,
third down, go for the field goal. If you have
a muff snap, then you have a fourth down to
get another field goal attempt. So this will be about
a forty one yard field goal attempt for the veteran

(02:02:39):
Nick Folk right now to give the Titans a victory
over the Chargersmart.

Speaker 3 (02:02:44):
Choice here by Mike Raybol This is just good situational football.
Like you said, if something goes.

Speaker 2 (02:02:49):
Wrong, the kick is up and the kick is good.
And the Titans beat the Chargers by a score of
twenty seven to twenty four, and the Chargers now zero
and two to start the season.

Speaker 3 (02:03:03):
It's amazing if you're a Chargers fan, how many times
you've seen this play out? But they find ways, unique
ways to give away football games. Okay, focusing in on
Gino Smith with the Seattle Seahawks offense facing a second
and seven in Detroit, a thirty one to thirty one
ball game. A lot of scoring in this one, not
a lot of defense being played by these two units,

(02:03:24):
and a big pass and it's caught down the sideline
and Gino Smith and the Seattle offense are well within
lines territory.

Speaker 2 (02:03:31):
All right, So again, final scores from today Bill's blow
out the Raiders thirty eight to ten. Buccaneers beat the
Bears twenty seven to seventeen. Ravens over the Bengals twenty
seven to twenty four. They're zero and two now the
Bengals Ravens at two to zero and the Chargers are
zero and two. Lose in and overtimes of the Titans
twenty seven to twenty four Falcons. Fourth and one at

(02:03:52):
Green Bay seven yard line, one forty seven to go,
you're down two. Take the field goal for the lead, right,
or what do you do because there's still won forty
seven to goal in the game. Yeah? Well, I mean,
obviously you get a field goal here, but you got
plenty of time on the clock for the Packers to
come down and match it and win the game with
a field goal. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (02:04:12):
It makes your stomach hurt thinking about this decision, but
you gotta you gotta make the right one here. If
you screw this up, you give away the game. If
if you kick the field goal, you take the lead.
So it feels like you have to kick the field
goal with young way kup.

Speaker 2 (02:04:26):
All right, So now we got a second and six
for the Seahawks again. Even if the Seahawks score a
touchdown here, what's the deal? Regular season, it's over? Well,
we only only in the postseason, right does a team
have a chance to match a touchdown?

Speaker 8 (02:04:41):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (02:04:42):
Yeah, so regular Seahawks if it's a touchdown, correct, Yeah,
So we're going to obviously see them attempt for the
end zone. It's third and two. They're gonna get a
fresh set of downs if they just get the two
yards at the goal line. But but yeah, I mean, look,
look for them to just strike at the end zone
here for the next consecutive plays.

Speaker 2 (02:05:02):
All right, so third and two right now, get our Seattle,
by the way, on the side, trying to figure this
one out, because even if they take the lead with
a field goal, the Green Bay would have plenty of
time to come down and score a field goal. And
the we I believe we have a touchdown. That is
a touchdown. It is over. The Seattle Seahawks have defeated

(02:05:23):
the Detroit Lions. A Chris Fallen. Chris watches as Tyler
Lockett gets in the end zone. That is the final
thirty seven to thirty one. The Seahawks have defeated the Lions.

Speaker 3 (02:05:36):
Okay, so after a time out, young Way Coup is
coming on to the field for his field goal attemp
here for the Atlanta Falcons. Looks like this is going
to be about a twenty yard or for Coup.

Speaker 2 (02:05:50):
One won't one to go in the fourth by the way,
they're reviewing this play right here for Loaca. But he
clearly hits the touch that's a touchdown.

Speaker 3 (02:05:57):
Yeah, yeah, he was in bounds, the ball crossed plane.
That's going to be a Seattle Seahawks win on the
road after a disappointing loss. Now the question they're going
to ask is did he have control of the football
as the ball was contacting the pylon or is it
a touchback?

Speaker 8 (02:06:12):
My?

Speaker 2 (02:06:13):
You know, the the right hand was a little loose
off that ball, but that really being nitpicking right all right,
field goal is good for the Falcons, So the Packers
will get the ball back. Fifty seven seconds to go
right now, Atlanta leading Green Bay by a score of
twenty five, twenty four, Chiefs by the way, putting on
the finishing touches and what is going to be a
victory in Jacksonville the second and four at Jacksonville six

(02:06:36):
yard line, Chiefs up seventeen to nine, one forty five
to go there.

Speaker 3 (02:06:40):
And you gotta love the way Isaac Pacheco plays the
game of football if you're a Chiefs fan, or if
you're just a fan of just hard, you know, tough
scrabble life like style, running play like he reminds me
of a Derrick Henry, just wearing smaller clothing like I mean,
he's a phiz a goal running back, and he was

(02:07:01):
all fired up getting that first down for his team
because he knows what it means for the Chiefs. They're
going to be able to tick every last second off
this clock. Jacksonville has run out of timeouts. This is
going to be a big win for the Chiefs on
the road, who needed one after losing to the Lions
on the opening night of the NFL last Thursday.

Speaker 2 (02:07:18):
Jacks had their chances. I get back to that first
and goal at the one yard line, and wow, what
do they do there? Meanwhile, the Colts defeated the Texans
thirty one to twenty not all bad news for Houston
this game. Stee J. Stroud three hundred and eighty four
yards passing and two touchdowns. Anthony Richardson scored a couple
of rushing touchdowns early for the Colts and then went

(02:07:39):
out with a concussion. But if you're the Texans right now,
everyone expects you to be bad. Certainly encouraging sign with
the play of c J. Stroud today. All right, So
now again we are looking at the Packers with the
ball trailing twenty five to twenty four. By the way,
a couple of games already kicking off right now forty

(02:08:00):
nine ers in Rams, Giants and Cardinals have kicked off.
By the way, are the Giants as bad as they
looked in that blowout loss at homes of the Cowboys?

Speaker 3 (02:08:09):
No, no, look, the Cowboys aren't that good and the
Giants aren't that bad. What that was is a game
that got away from New York in a hurry.

Speaker 2 (02:08:17):
And well, Daniel Jones was awful.

Speaker 3 (02:08:20):
He looked all out of sorts, and frankly, that is
a big bell weather for the rest of the league.
Is how Daniel Jones looked. You have to realize, like
that defensive pass rush from the Dallas Cowboys, it's real.
You know, you need to make quick decisions. You need
to get the ball out of your quarterbacks. And it
doesn't matter if it's Daniel Jones or if it's the
best quarterback in the league, Patrick Mahomes. You need to

(02:08:42):
help your quarterback out.

Speaker 2 (02:08:43):
All right, second and ten for the Packers right now,
we got fifty four seconds left. Jordan Love trying to
get his Packer team into field goal position. He gets
hit and we now have a third and ten with
forty eight seconds to go. And again, this is where
you really test quarterbacks. You know, I mean, and you
pull games out that separates the you know, franchise quarterbacks

(02:09:05):
from the also rams. And some blitzing going on by
the Falcons putting pressure so huge. Third and ten right now,
forty eight seconds ago, still plenty of time. A field
goal would win this game for the Packers. They got
a long way to go right now. They got to
get about forty five yards to get into field goal position. Yep,
all right, So here we go, third and ten right now.

(02:09:26):
Jordan Love looking for something, anything, and he's going to
throw the ball on third down, looking down the field,
he throws and it is.

Speaker 3 (02:09:34):
Oh, well, that was pretty pretty good overthrown there, and
he gets hit again in the pocket. And look, that's
what happens when you get into these longer yardage situations.

Speaker 2 (02:09:43):
You just saw it.

Speaker 3 (02:09:43):
On second and ten, looking to throw, he gets popped
by a linebacker because but Bud Dupree on the second
down pass got so much push on the tackle the
back had to help him out, which released the linebacker
from responsibility on the back. So he got hit as
he threw this play. The pressure was coming from the
opposite side. They sent the blitz off the right side.

(02:10:04):
He felt that presence in the pocket. He rushed the
throw and it was heavily overthrown. So the Packers offense
days on the field for a fourth and ten opportunity
here against the Falcons defense. That's going back to back pressure.

Speaker 2 (02:10:17):
All right. So Love throws the ball over the middle
and it is caught. Wow, So they got a first
down there. Meanwhile, it is over in Jacksonville. Chiez had
defeated the Jaguars seventeen to nine. Patrick Mahomes twenty nine
to forty one, three hundred and five yards, two touchdowns
and one pick. Travis Kelce caught a touchdown pass, believe me.
Chris Jones made his presence felt one and a half

(02:10:40):
sacks in his return, and he put a lot of
pressure on Trevor Lawrence today. Lawrence struggling throughout the day
twenty two, two hundred and sixteen yards in this game,
he was sacked four times.

Speaker 3 (02:10:52):
Illegal shift against the Green Bay Packers on that fourth
down pass, and so they are going to reset.

Speaker 2 (02:10:58):
Fourth down, fourth and fifteen. Now fourth and fifteen, all right,
So this is the last gas They need a first
down obviously to stay alive. Thirty four seconds left, fourth
and fifteen, for the Packers, and.

Speaker 3 (02:11:12):
I didn't mention it because it happened also fast. But
on that fourth and ten pass, Jordan Love again pressure
right up the middle in his face. He got hit
as he thrown. So on three consecutive passes, this Green
Bay Packers offensive line in a critical moment, has gotten
their quarterback hit. Either A, he needs to get rid
of the football sooner if the if the protection leaves

(02:11:33):
one of these players hot, or B you got to
do a better job blocking them forever, because you can't
let number ten get hit if you're he's gonna have
any chance of saving this game for you.

Speaker 2 (02:11:43):
All right, So this play is under review because that
pass I don't think was caught. Yeah, it looks I
wasn't caught at all.

Speaker 3 (02:11:50):
M hm.

Speaker 2 (02:11:51):
That looks like trapped by the ground. And if that's
the case, this game's over. Right. He declined the penalty yep, yeah,
and that's it of be an incomplete pass. So I
don't understand the ruling was the illegal shift is at
an automatic penalty or something that could actually be declined.
They're reviewing the play right now. I have to review

(02:12:12):
the pass that was caught for a potential first down
and that is it. I think they're gonna say. He's
saying it was incomplete. Well, if it's incomplete, yeah, exactly right.

Speaker 3 (02:12:21):
So what they're looking at is Arthur Smith, obviously, if
it's an incomplete pass, will decline taking the illegal shift
and the game will will be over because the Falcons
will get the ball back, they'll kneel on the ball.
And that's looked like that's exactly what just happened.

Speaker 2 (02:12:36):
All right, So the Falcons are jumping up and down.
It looks like this game is officially now over after
the incomplete pass. Jordan Love played well in this game
fourteen to twenty four, one hundred and fifty one yards,
three touchdowns and no picks. Desmond Ritter nineteen to thirty
two to two thirty seven, a touchdown and a pick
difference in this game two hundred and twelve yards rushing

(02:13:01):
for Atlanta. Bijon Robinson is every bit the running back
we thought he was going to be, and this nineteen
carries one hundred twenty four yards. This was truly his
coming out party.

Speaker 3 (02:13:10):
Last week. You saw the screen pass for a score
and you go, whoa. That was explosive and they schemed
that for him down near the goal line. But today
he just went bonkers. Nineteen carries one twenty four and
then also the four receptions for forty eight yards. Didn't
score in this game. Oh he's big time, but he is,
I mean, he is a monster.

Speaker 2 (02:13:29):
All right, So that game officially over. Atlanta Beat defeats
the Packers by score of twenty five to twenty four.
All right, we got games that are underway. We got
the first wave tremendous warning in the NFL. We got
more games to get to stay with us. This is
Fox Sports Red Zone Radio. Moregan Coxtas, Ham Ryan, don't
have to hold and the kick yes, yes, yes, yeah,

(02:13:58):
that's Texas Radio Network, and and overtime. Excuse me that
I said Texans. That's Titans Radio Network wg FX one
OZH four point five. And with that kicking over time,
the Titans take care of the Chargers by a score
of twenty seven to twenty four. This is Fox Sports
Red Zone Radio. We are live from the Tyraq dot

(02:14:19):
Com studios. So we got a couple of games going
on right now. The forty nine ers opening drive. They're
like a machine. They just went right down the field.
Christian McCaffrey scoring the touchdown, dragging a few Rams into
the end zone. By the way, it is a sea
of red at Sofi Stadium. Last week, the Chargers against

(02:14:39):
the Dolphins had to go to a silent count in
the first half on their home field. Rich, we're here.
You have the Rams two years removed from winning a
Super Bowl. Yep, you have and by the way, they've
been to two Super Bowls since moving to LA. You
have a Charger team that you know was in the

(02:14:59):
playoff a year ago with one of the exciting young
quarterbacks in the league, and justin Herbert, where are the
fans Well, I mean the opposing fans are showing up
in mass for these Rams and Chargers games at Sofi State.
It's a beautiful stadium. It's spectacular, believe me. Why why
is why is it tough for LA to build this

(02:15:20):
fan base for the Rams and Chargers right now?

Speaker 3 (02:15:22):
Well, Chargers fans live in San Diego and Rams fans
live in Saint Louis. This is what happens when you
take a franchise, a historic franchise, from their cities that
have been there for decades and decades and decades, which
means generations of sports fans rooting on these teams, caring
about these teams, when they are severed from their fan base.

(02:15:44):
This is what it looks like, especially when you put
into a market like Los Angeles, where you have the Lakers,
and you have the Dodgers, and you have the Clippers,
and you have all of the other distractions.

Speaker 2 (02:15:55):
You say Clippers because Monc, you say Clippers. I just
I'll sprinkle it in every once in a while.

Speaker 3 (02:16:01):
But even soccer, I mean like you are competing with
everything USC football. You sell a basketball. I mean the
Chargers in the Rams come so far down the Tator Pack.

Speaker 2 (02:16:12):
By the way, last night el traffic go Galaxy against LAFC.

Speaker 3 (02:16:16):
This is my point, dude, you are in a very
busy market. And then also I failed to mention the
other distractions that Southern California brings with good weather all
year round, a lot of people aren't necessarily sports fans
who live They're also very transient city where you don't
have people from that city who are going to latch
onto the team. They're going to cheer for the Chiefs.

Speaker 2 (02:16:38):
So the Packers, how they have, Yeah, James Carner just
gets into the end zone. So the The Giants this
year have been outscored forty six to nothing.

Speaker 3 (02:16:47):
That is correct with that, that is forty six to
nothing now stemming after the blowout that they received to
the at the hands of the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday.

Speaker 2 (02:16:57):
Now, remind me again, Arizona supposedly is by far the
worst team in the league. They've already rolled up over
one hundred yards total offense here in the first quarter
against the Giants. The Giants, by the way, three and
out on their only driving this game. You sure the
Giants are as bad as they look last week against Dallas.

Speaker 3 (02:17:14):
It's impossible that they're that bad. But let's put it
this way. If they don't start shoring things up quick,
there's gonna be a lot of people who believe it.
Look and the other side of that coin is when
you look at the Cardinals and you look at them
in the preseason and you say, oh, my goodness, like
they are tanking out loud. They're trying to lose games
this season. They want to tank for Caleb Williams. Here's

(02:17:35):
the thing, you forget. Nobody told that to Josh Dobbs.
That guy's playing for a job. That guy wants to
be a starting quarterback in this league, and he's getting
an opportunity, a golden opportunity to be a starter. Don't
tell that to James Connor. Don't tell that to Cam
Thomas on that defense some of the other starters that
have Look, this team is going to try to win.
The players are gonna try to win, even if the

(02:17:55):
franchise in the ownership don't want them to.

Speaker 2 (02:17:58):
Getting back to that opening drive by the forty nine
Ers resulting in a fourteen yard touching run by Christian McCaffrey,
Brock Purty six for six, forty nine yards. If you
watch Brock party, he puts the ball where it's supposed
to be. Yep, and you got four playmakers. Ayuk was
the big guy last week, yep. But you got Kittle,
you got Samuel and obviously you got Christian McCaffrey. Meanwhile,

(02:18:19):
Matthew Stafford is looking at excellent. He was outstanding last
week in that huge Rans victory on the road against
the Seahawks. Opening drive here four for four. So Matthew
Stafford and a lot of people have a theory of
thrown it out myself. The reason he's still playing is
he's collecting I think sixty million dollars this year. Yes,
so that's one reason to continue to get out there.

(02:18:40):
But Stafford is looking good. And again, if you have
a Rams team where you can keep Stafford in the game,
and we know he's an elite quarterback, and you have
the best defensive lineman in the league in Aaron Donald
on the field healthy, you're going to stay in games.

Speaker 3 (02:18:54):
Look, this is a story of how do you manage success?
Like there are for example, rock bands, right they spend
time in their parents' basements and they're playing garage parties
in backyards, and then finally they break a little bit
and they get to play a couple of clubs around
their town. And then maybe they buy a bus and
they start touring regionally, and then maybe they get signed

(02:19:17):
by a record label. And then all of a sudden,
after five years of just operating in the dark, they
have one breakthrough hit that becomes a smash success. They're
selling albums nationally and now they're touring in stadiums. Well,
where do you go from there? How do you continue
to motivate yourself? The Rams assent was like that rock band.

(02:19:37):
They went from nothing before McVeigh took over and then
they won a Super Bowl, so it's like mission accomplished.
But no, no, no, no, no, you gotta keep going
after that. You had guys talking out loud about retiring
after that Super Bowl.

Speaker 2 (02:19:50):
One of them was your best defensive player and the
other one was your head coach, Like, how.

Speaker 3 (02:19:55):
The hell are you going to have a repeat success
when you start there? I think there were a lot
of distractions, and then that was followed by a lot
of injuries last season. And now, for the first time
in what seems like three hundred and sixty plus days,
the Rams look hungry again.

Speaker 2 (02:20:10):
Well they're on the move right now again, trailing seven
to nothing to the forty nine ers. You remember, the
forty nine Ers are eight and oh against the Rams
over the last four regular seasons. All right, let's find
out what is trending right now, Monci, Will you stunned
when Rich talked about, Hey, it's tough for the Rams
and the Chargers when you have to compete against the

(02:20:31):
Dodgers and the Lakers and the Clippers.

Speaker 7 (02:20:35):
No, of course, Now, of course I was in a shock.
You know what I am shocked about. I just wanted
to peak at Major League Baseball scores and the Marlins
are dominating the Braves fifteen to two. That's what the
face that you saw was fifteen to two, Marlins up.
But let's go to the NFL four games currently going on.
Forty nine ers you just mentioned Christian McCaffrey in two

(02:20:55):
of my fantasy leagues. That's right, have scored first against
the Rams seven zero, five minutes to go in the
first quarter. The Cardinals have scored first at home against
the Giants at seven zero as well, halfway through the
first on that one the games that have ended for
the morning portion. On this NFL Sunday, the Falcons scored
thirteen points in the fourth quarter and came back to
beat the Packers twenty five to twenty four. But Jordan

(02:21:19):
Love had a good game once again for the Packers,
and I'm happy for him. He was fourteen of twenty five,
one hundred and fifty one yards and three touchdowns even
though they lost. For the Falcons, Jon Robinson had nineteen
carries and one hundred and twenty four yards. The Bills
dominated the Raiders. Even though the Raiders scored first, it
didn't matter. Thirty eight to ten was the final score.
Josh Allen looking like the Josh Allen that Bills fans

(02:21:41):
want to see. Thirty one of thirty seven for two
hundred and seventy four yards three touchdowns. More importantly, like
you said earlier today, no interceptions, that's big, That's right.
Jimmy g had two interceptions for Las Vegas one hundred
and eighty five yards and one touchdown in the air.
The Ravens edged the Bengals twenty seven to twenty. The
Bengals once again are starting the season ozho and two.

(02:22:03):
Odell Beckham Junior did leave the game for Baltimore with
an ankle injury. Lamar Jackson ended twenty four of thirty
three for two hundred and thirty seven yards two touchdowns.
He also rushed for fifty four yards. The Seahawks outscored
the Lions thirty seven to thirty one. In overtime. It
was Tyler Lockett with the winning touchdown. He ended with
eight receptions seventy five yards and two touchdowns in that one.

(02:22:25):
Lines running back David Montgomery did leave the game with
a thigh injury and never returned. The Titans this one
her beat the Chargers in overtime with the field goal
twenty seven to twenty four. Why is it always like that? Though,
like you said it Rich, the Chargers always find a
ridiculous way they're charging.

Speaker 2 (02:22:41):
It's called charger, it's a verb, and it's so accurate,
like I can't with it.

Speaker 7 (02:22:47):
I honestly. They didn't play with Austin Eckler, but Keenan
Allen for the Chargers. He did have eight receptions one
hundred and eleven yards and the two touchdowns that were
thrown by Justin Herbert, who also threw for three hundred
and five yards the Buccaneer starting the season two and oh,
they defeated the Bears twenty seven to seventeen. Baker Mayfield
threw for three hundred and seventeen yards and a touchdown,

(02:23:07):
but it was Mike Evans six receptions, one hundred and
seventy one yards and a touchdown. And of course I'm
playing against Mike Evans, crandall one of our editors. He's
pleas them, I'm playing against him. The Chiefs with the
seventeen to nine victory over the Jaguars, it wasn't pretty,
but they got the win and the Colt held on
to beat the Texans thirty one to twenty. Unfortunately, Anthony Richardson,

(02:23:28):
after rushing for two touchdowns in the first six minutes
of the game, left the game in the second quarter
with a concussion, but Gardner Minshew nineteen of twenty three
one hundred and seventy one yards and a touchdown and
they held on to win. So yay, guys, what a day.

Speaker 2 (02:23:40):
Hey, what a day. We've been very entertaining with you,
by the way. We got good games going on. Right now.
The Cowboys are in a deep into Jets territory. Third
and goal right now, but a couple of off tackle
running plays have gone nowhere. So third and goal right
now and touchdown Cowboys.

Speaker 7 (02:24:02):
Boo, what a fast four hours.

Speaker 8 (02:24:05):
Guys.

Speaker 2 (02:24:05):
Oh, I know, job man, it's a great jobs buzzed
by all right, Jake Ferguson on the receiving end of
that Dak Prescott pass. So that was a very impressive
opening drive for the Dallas Cowboys against this outstanding Jets defense.

Speaker 3 (02:24:19):
Now, careful how much you buy into this, how much
stock you put into the first ten players or so
for any offense, because these are heavily scripted. The way
it works is, you know, come Thursday, come Friday. Walkthroughs
on Saturday leading into an NFL Sunday. As an offense,
you go through your first ten plays scripted, and if
it's a third down situation, you know exactly what's going

(02:24:41):
to be the first third down call on third and
medium or third and long. You have all these things
set up, and then obviously you'll adjust along the way.
So a great effort to get that done. Obviously, patting
yourself with seven points to start this game against a
very talented defense is exactly what Mike McCarthy this offense
wanted to do. And Dak presh Prescott looked sharp on

(02:25:03):
the drive.

Speaker 2 (02:25:04):
All right, So the Rams, by the way, on their
opening drive settle for a field goal forty nine. Ers
lead that game seven to three. Cardinal's up seven to
nothing on the Giants. Now we got, excuse me, seven nothing.
Cowboys over the Jets, Commanders, and Broncos. Last week, Broncos
at home, first game in the Sean Payton era, they
lose to the Raiders seventeen to sixteen. I didn't really

(02:25:28):
have a huge takeaway from that game. I gave Jimmy
Garoppolo credit because they came from behind to actually win
that game. But tell you one thing, you don't want
to start zero to two with two home games. Broncos
obviously need to come up with a win today. And
I think we're both in the court here. Russell Wilson's
on a short leash. Oh yeah, yeah, I mean he
if he can't execute what Sean Payton wants out of

(02:25:51):
that offense, it's not going to be the quarterback of
this team.

Speaker 3 (02:25:54):
He'll be scapegoaded. Sean Payton has the keys to the
kingdom right now. He's playing with house money, and you
could tell that with how loosey was with the play
calling last week. He opened his tenure as the Denver
Broncos head coach with a surprise on side kick. That
was the first play of the Denver Broncos season. Was
a surprise onside kick. You don't do that if you're

(02:26:14):
worried about losing your job. He knows he has job security.
Russell Wilson is either going to play better and Sean
Payton's going to be receiving all the credit for him
playing better, or he's going to play poorly again or average,
and Sean Payton is going to move on from him
and say, yeah, you know what, unfortunately was unfixable I'm

(02:26:34):
sorry Nathaniel Hackett ruined him.

Speaker 2 (02:26:37):
Sam Hall opened five for six forty eight yards for
the Commanders. Not good enough. So now Denver has the
ball and Russell Wilson's first play was an eleven yard
completion to Jerry Judy.

Speaker 3 (02:26:47):
And now Javonte Williams with a nice little run there
number thirty three, and he's got some spring in him.
He's a fun running back to watch. Little banged up
last season. But h and by the way, that's the
story of Russell Wilson, or I should say of the
Denver Broncos after the past two seasons, They've just had
so many injuries it's been hard to feel the full

(02:27:08):
team of stars that on paper, if they've had all
of them active, would have been a much better team
in concept at least.

Speaker 2 (02:27:14):
The Eagles are two to zero after they win on Thursday,
but let's face it, they don't look one hundred percent.
No no, no, no, no no. They escape with a
victory against the Vikings, and I'm just trying to get
a read on which is the better team. And I'm
just going to say, right now, the forty nine ers
to me look like that team.

Speaker 3 (02:27:32):
Yeah, there's no question about it defensively and offensively both.
I think the forty nine ers are clicking on all cylinders.
It's been an impressive start to his first season, debuting
as a starter for Brock Perdy. He looks perfect. He
looks like exactly the type of quarterback you need in
this offense. And that's tough to say, right, you know,
because there's a lot of intangibles that you would obviously

(02:27:54):
like to have with a quarterback. Athleticism, escapability, improvisational skills,
the mind to understand the offense and the concepts that
are being thrown your way. Obviously an arm that can
make every throw. Well, guess what, check every single box
with thirteen in San Francisco so far. And I keep
saying to myself, well, it's early, Well it's early. Well,

(02:28:15):
guess what, it's not early anymore. We've seen him now,
including the postseason, getting closer to almost a full season.
I'm pretty sure I can trust my eyes. Brock Purdy
is a franchise quarterback.

Speaker 2 (02:28:27):
Well again, when he got Ayuk, McCaffrey, Samuel and Kittle,
and by the way, they've all had the hands on
the ball already in this game. So that is the
irony of this entire thing with the Trey Lance fiasco
is that Kyle Shanahan was thinking there was more to
his offense than actually was. Jimmy Garoppolo operated this offense

(02:28:47):
really well. He just couldn't stay on the field. Rock
Perty is doing the same thing that Jimmy Garoppolo was
able to do. When you have four weapons, it's good again,
you got four elite weapons on this offense. You're a
defense pick your poison, right. You just need a quarterback
that can get the ball in their hands in the

(02:29:08):
right spot. And that's exactly what brock Perty's doing. And
by the way, Christian McCaffrey breaking off a huge run
right now against the Rams. He is, Oh, he's a
monster when he is healthy. And that's been the problem
obviously in Carolina. When he's not healthy, obviously he's not
in the game. But a healthy Christian McCaffrey, the deal
they made to get him a year ago is a

(02:29:30):
game chain. No, it looks like stealing. Now watch this.

Speaker 3 (02:29:32):
They run a toss sweep here and you're going to
see all of these big offensive linemens seal off the inside.
You're gonna see George Kittle come across formation, get a
key block, kicking out a defender on an edge defender,
and then McCaffrey has so much speed it's like watching
a track star out of the backfield. This is the
same thing that he lit up the Pac twelve at

(02:29:54):
Stanford with when he was there, and part of the
reason why people were like, let's put him in the
slot and play receiver with him, because he's so dynamic
with the ball in the hand. I mean, get him
outside and it'll make people look foolish. He's just so
good out of the backfield and so versatile in an offense.
You don't want to rob your offense of the ability
to run the football with him too. So again, like

(02:30:14):
you said, this forty nine ers offense is spoiled with riches.
You don't want to put somebody in at quarterback who
is going to get in the way of that. Even
if the potential is high, like a guy like Trey Lance,
he's gotta learn the potential is there yet? Well pass
me with all the potential talk. Don't talk to me

(02:30:34):
about the labor. Just show me the baby. Like I
need to see this offense go full speed and with
Brock Purdy they can go full speed.

Speaker 2 (02:30:43):
By the way, if you're a New York football fan, yikes,
the chats. The Dallas defense is overwhelming. Zach Willson right,
he can't even get the ball off. Meanwhile, the Giants
already down seven to nothing to the Cardinals. Cardinals are
going right down the field with Dobbs already as one
hundred and eight yards passing in this game. James Connor

(02:31:05):
is running the ball well. The Giants offense two three
and outs, They're doing nothing. Yep, So this is not
looking good for the New York Giants, a team that
again Brian Dable. I think we're all fans of Brian
Dable what he did in Buffalo and certainly showed a
lot of promise and making the Giants not only a
playoff team, but got a nice playoff win against the

(02:31:25):
Vikings on the road last year. But these first couple
of games, does Giano Jones look like a forty million
dollar quarterback?

Speaker 3 (02:31:32):
Well, and all of a sudden, you're gonna have Saquon
Barkley reminiscing about this offseason, thinking how hard it was
to get extra dollars out of the New York Giants
and thinking like for this, you know, what I mean
is this. I mean, these are some of the things
that can really affect the culture inside of a locker room. Now,
I'm not sure if Barkley is going to be there
for very much longer after this contract. He signed a

(02:31:53):
one year deal with the Giants, but they're gonna need
more out of their offense. And frankly, this defense was
touted as one one of the better more improved defenses
in the National Football League. You gave up forty points
and got shut out last week by the Dallas Cowboys,
and you're off to a rough start with the Cardinals.
You gotta fix this quick.

Speaker 2 (02:32:12):
By the way, I shortchanged the Giants, they did. He
get one first down first quarters. Over here the stats
first downs, Cardinals eleven, Giants one total yards. Cardinals won
sixty one, Giants thirty two. All right, much more coming up.
Keep it right here. This is Fox Sports Red Zone Radio.
Delon Jennings goes in motion, lines up next to Trent Williams.

(02:32:34):
Here's a stretch running McCaffrey, a cutback inside the.

Speaker 1 (02:32:37):
Bi breaks a.

Speaker 11 (02:32:38):
Tackle on the ring the goat line. Kristin McCaffrey touchdown, saying, friend.

Speaker 2 (02:32:47):
Cisco, that's camby our forty nine Ers radio network, and
the forty nine Ers have extended their lead now ten
to three over the Rams. This is Fox Sports Red
Zone Radio. We are live from the Tiraq dot Com studios.

Speaker 1 (02:33:05):
No, it's time for the NFL Fucks focus.

Speaker 2 (02:33:12):
And earlier today the Seattle Seahawks going to Detroit winning
overtime thirty seven to thirty one. Joining us right now,
Tom Rinaldi, he was there on the field, Tom, appreciate
you joining us right now. I know Lions fans obviously
very jazz after that opening victory against the Super Bowl
champion Chiefs. I'm sure they were rocking at for field
expecting a victory against the Seahawks team that looked awful

(02:33:34):
in their first game against the Rams. What was the
reaction of the Lions losing this one to the Seahawks.

Speaker 8 (02:33:42):
Hey, guys, great to be with you. I think the
initial reaction is going to be anger about the way
the game ended. The final play of the game. I
think Greg Olsen did a great job ro Trusso with
great pictures from our truck showing what looked like Aiden
Hutchinson getting held no flag. Hutchinson couldn't get to Gino

(02:34:02):
Smith as a result. You know, if you possessed the
ball first and overtime and you score six, the game
is over. And that's how it ended for Seattle. Give
them a lot of credit. They absolutely were awful gaining
twelve yards in the second half. A week ago they
had a ten point lead. Guys, they lost that league,
got the overtime, but final way to march down and win.

(02:34:25):
Tremendous game to watch and be a part of in
a great atmosphere at Ford Field.

Speaker 3 (02:34:30):
Yeah, and we were watching the game on televisions here
at Fox Sports Radio Studios. I mean, it just jumps
off the screen, especially when you look at the other
side of this battle with Gino Smith. Thirty two for
forty one, three twenty eight through the air, two touchdowns,
zero picks. I mean, the story of Gino Smith, it's unfathomable,
you know, bouncing around the league for eight years before

(02:34:50):
finding home in Seattle. A training camp battle that he
won between him and Drew Locke, and now he's this guy.
When you talked to Gino, like, what do you get
from him? Where was this waiting in his mind? And
how has it come to pass that he's now one
of the better quarterbacks in the league so far the season.

Speaker 8 (02:35:12):
Guys, you know the importance from that position, given what
you guys did in the league, of the confidence that
comes from having the quote unquote adult in the room
back there under center. And I think that has always
been considered and perceived in Seattle. Greg Olsen made the comment,
how about this, guys, that when it comes to pure passer,

(02:35:33):
Gino Smith is without questioned elite in the NFL, one
of the best throwers of the ball and finally put
into a spot where he got some protection, he had
some real weapons around him. Isn't it amazing how he's flourished.
We love to judge a player so early in his

(02:35:54):
career at that position without the chance to truly give
context its own judgment in situation, it's own judgment and
without patience. I think it's been fantastic to see Gino
Smith flourish here. Look how we bounce back again, just
from the difficulty of the Week one loss. He was
terrific against the good Lions defense here, which i'llbe it

(02:36:15):
was banged up in many ways, that incredibly physical game, guys,
with Detroit, the injuries throughout it.

Speaker 2 (02:36:23):
It's amazing I actually know Lions fans. Chris on the
board here is a big Lions fan. My brother in
law's a Lions fan. Tom. I mean, I've been around
a long time. They won one playoff game since nineteen
fifty seven, so you know, a loss like today sort
of almost feels like, ugh, there's still the Lions. It's
like the Chargers finding a way to lose an overtime.

(02:36:44):
But I mean, have they turned the corner? Was this
just a hiccup on their way to you know, not
just respectability, but where they can actually become a playoff contender.

Speaker 8 (02:36:56):
You know, it's funny in our production meeting we've put
up of course, we put up the stat nineteenth not
since nineteen fifty seven, you know, and we almost feel
bad when we put that up. Graphically, thorn Berry are
our great graphics man who puts it up there. And
I'll tell you we feel like, yes, the tide has turned.

(02:37:17):
I don't know that you're going to come off the ledge.
I don't know what to tell brother in law, who
you love in law love that is, there are limits.
But I will say, when when you think about the
way they lost this game, they battled back. It was
a tremendous start to the season with that one in
Kansas City, and they have real weapons. Gibbs looks like

(02:37:37):
a great pick from them. God very strong. Hutchinson's been
very strong. I think absolutely they're for real. Seattle was
undervalued guys coming into this game. They're a good football team. Yes,
they played poorly in the second half a week ago
against a team in the Rams that no one expects
that much from. But I think the Lions are for

(02:37:58):
real and they're going to be heard.

Speaker 3 (02:38:00):
Hey, Tom, we have about thirty seconds with you here.
Who do you like better pregame?

Speaker 2 (02:38:04):
Who?

Speaker 3 (02:38:05):
Actually, I don't want to ask. Who do you like better?
Who's more fun to chat with pregame? Pete Carroll or
Dan Campbell?

Speaker 8 (02:38:12):
Oh, you can't pick. They're so different guys. Campbell, I mean,
Campbell is just a force of nature. He's just so energetic, impassionate.
But how about Pete at seventy two years old? Again,
Russo showed up the pictures of him jumping up and
down pre game, He's jumping up and down during the game,
he's chopping that gum boy. When he publishes the book,

(02:38:34):
the pamphlet, the article on longevity sign me up because
his vitality is amazing.

Speaker 2 (02:38:39):
So is yours time, and we appreciate your time. Thanks
so much for joining us today.

Speaker 8 (02:38:44):
Thank you guys. Enjoy the Sunday.

Speaker 2 (02:38:46):
We'll do that. That's Tom Rinaldi there again on the
sideline as the Seahawks come away with the victory in
overtime thirty seven thirty one over the Lions. By the way,
our thanks to Chris and Monce and Bo doing a
tremendous job as we always do. Cardinals are up fourteen
nothing on the so that means they have been outscored
fifty four to nothing so far. And I asked you,
are the Giants really this bad? I mean, right now,

(02:39:08):
Cardinals are just going up and down the field against them.

Speaker 3 (02:39:10):
Yeah, listen, I'm telling you a the Cardinals are better
than people think. And the Giants aren't going to stink
this bad all season long. It's just impossible. I mean,
they are going to score a point this season, and
mark my words.

Speaker 2 (02:39:23):
It's gonna happen this Sunday. This has all been brought
to you by Progressive Insurance. Don't go anywhere. We've got
a lot of football coming up. This is Fox Sports Radio.
