Speaker 1 (00:01):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio. What's the big deal.
We'll explain that in just a minute. Good morning, this
is Fox Football Sunday. He's Bucky Brooks. I'm Andy Fermana.

Barron should be here. He is my pal, my friend,
my partner, the man who knows all about football. Mister
Bucket Brooks? Hello, Buck, how are you?

Speaker 2 (00:33):
What's going on? What's happening?

Speaker 1 (00:35):
Well you let's get this out of the way right now.
What happened to your North Carolina tar Heels? They lost
this second straight Georgia Tech forty six forty two in
a shootout? What is going on with Mac? What is
happening with Matt Brown? Now? I'm upset.

Speaker 3 (00:48):
Look, he's upset and he has every right to be upset.

Speaker 2 (00:50):
The team was up.

Speaker 3 (00:51):
They gave him twenty two points in the fourth quarter,
couldn't finish the game, gave up over three hundred and
forty yards on the ground. It's hard to win games
when you give it that many rushing.

Speaker 1 (00:59):
Yards against Georgia Tech Nooles. Oh my goodness. You know,
before we get into the scores and the games and
what happened. Yes, stay in college football and deonce and
has lost the game with Colorado. You know the story,
I guess circling around college football is this Michigan thing
under NCAA investigation for allegedly scouting future opponents in person
to steal some signs. Now, two of Michigan's opponents this

(01:21):
year said to Yahoo's Sports I read this the other
day that they became aware that the Wolverines knew their signs.
Big deal, big freaking deal. Okay. And at the big
heart of the investigation is this guy Conna Stallions, who
allegedly bought tickets for more than thirty games, some of
them Big ten games, and used illegal technology to steal signs. Okay.

(01:42):
And there's a former Division III football coach who goes unnamed.
He claims that Suspend, the Michigan offensive analyst, College Stallions
compensated him paid him to record future Wolverines opponents in person.
How do you like that? I don't get it. I
don't know what's going on. And I say it right now,
I love what the seeing this. How to say about that,
because he says, you know what, it goes on forever.

(02:04):
Sign stealing is common phenomena across all sports, but maybe
in football it's it's more common. But still in all
you gotta stop it. You still got to stop it.
That's what it's all about. And they say, also, Bucky
that TCU reportedly had knowledge of Michigan's sign stealing antics
when the two teams met in the twenty twenty two

(02:24):
College Football Playoffs semi final, and according to the report,
the Horned Frogs of TCU used dummy signals in the
team's fifty one forty five upset win over Michigan. So
I ask you, is it a big deal? And even
more so, what's worse, stealing signs or paying players? Which
is going on right now? I don't get this whole situation.

Speaker 3 (02:48):
Yeah, no, I would say, I'm surprised that this has
been the deal that has become. But the only reason
I say I'm surprised is because sign stealing has gone
on forever in the pros, like it's always been a
big part of the deal.

Speaker 2 (03:02):
It's one of the reasons why we see.

Speaker 3 (03:04):
Coaches cover up their mouths when they had the play sheets.
It's another reason why we've seen guys work and operate
off wristbands. Yet another reason why we've seen those placards
on the sideline with the different signs and those things.
That has always kind of been a part of the game.
And so I finally ask somebody like, what is the
big deal? And they were saying, well, you're not supposed
to go in advanced scout when you're in the college

(03:27):
the collegiate level, you know, and the pros. You know,
you do all the advanced scout and you get all
this stuff, the people that look at the signs to figure.

Speaker 2 (03:34):
Out which personnel is coming in and out of the game.

Speaker 3 (03:37):
But in college you're not supposed to go on the
road and use technology to take advantage of those things.
To me, when I've heard some of the other coaches,
like you know, the Nick Sabans to Deion Sanders and
those guys talk to me, their perspective is right, like,
what is the big deal?

Speaker 2 (03:51):
What are we really talking about?

Speaker 3 (03:52):
Because at the end of the day, whether you can
steal a sign or not. It still comes down to execution,
and it's hard to communicate what is about to happen
in like a fifteen to twenty five second span to
the players, to tell them what play is going and
those things. I think a lot of this is the
hate that people have from Michigan because Michigan has become

(04:13):
a power, the hate that they have for Jim Harbor.

Speaker 2 (04:16):
Because he is who he is.

Speaker 3 (04:18):
And so if this was some other program, if this
was a lesser known school, this wouldn't be the big
deal that it is.

Speaker 1 (04:25):
I'm with you right there. And they talk about the
coaching fraternity. To me, this unnamed Division III football coach,
to me, they should take him and hang him by
his thumbs. They really should you tell the guys giving money.
I mean, I'm not saying good, bitter and different. He's
getting some money from Michigan, and he goes public and
said he was paid. I mean, come on, you know
you can't have it both ways. You're either gonna do

(04:45):
the dirty deal, do what you gotta do help out
Harbord Michigan, or keep your mouth shut and don't take
the money. You can't do both. I don't respect this
guy at all. Whoever he may be.

Speaker 3 (04:57):
Yeah, I mean it, look, it is what it is like.
You bring those guys in, you ask them to do
certain things. They ultimately tell I mean, that's the thing.
And now I will say, like, it really depends on
the rule and how hard and fast the rule was.
Was there loophole that Jim Harbard Michigan today allegedly kind
of skirt around some things that have been established. Whatever

(05:19):
it is, it certainly didn't have an impact on how
they played the game. And Eli Drinkowicks and all these
other coaches that are speaking out and that are appalled
at the practice. I just have a sneaky suspension that
this stuff has kind of been going on the SEC
and some around some other programs for a long time.
In fact, I think Michigan talked about Ohio State skunking
them and having their signals in.

Speaker 2 (05:40):
Twenty eighteen, twenty nineteen.

Speaker 3 (05:44):
Look, man, I think it's part of the game, and
I think you need to do a good job of
making sure you self scout and protect yourself when it
comes to your signals and those things.

Speaker 1 (05:52):
Okay, so let's fast forward a little bit. Nothing that's
been done yet by the NCAA to Michigan. But I
gotta believe if in fact Michigan wins it all and
there's a possibility they could be national, I'm sure they
would strip the title from Michigan, which to me is
the most ridiculous thing because it has something to do
with the present day kids on that team. I mean
that probably will happen strip the title if they went
it all.

Speaker 3 (06:11):
I don't know I can strip the title like I mean,
like to me, like how much do we know that
that stuff influences the way the game is played? I mean,
if you don't vacate wins and stripped titles, I mean,
there are a lot of things that people have done
that you need to wipe away.

Speaker 2 (06:25):
Their wins and titles as well.

Speaker 3 (06:27):
And so I understand like where they are, and in fact,
I'm trying to figure out, like what jurisdiction.

Speaker 2 (06:32):
Does the NCAA.

Speaker 3 (06:33):
Does it still exist when it comes to it, like
it's been the wild wild West for so many things.
They kind of pick and choose when they jump in
and when they jump out of stuff. To me as
much to do about nothing, It'll be interesting with the
Big Ten decides to do. But I think it need
to be careful because they potentially could open up Pandora's
box when it comes to other allegations and things that
could exist out there.

Speaker 1 (06:53):
I just think paying players is a lot worse than
they're basically stealing signs. And look right now with the
nil and the portal, they're basically opening up the door
and say yes, you can't pay players, and they're doing it.
And the coaching staff at Kentucky basically told their people
on the Coaches radio show last week or two weeks ago, saying, hey, hey,
you want a better team, you know, the alumni gott

(07:14):
to fork up some more cash. See, we could buy
better players. That's basically what they said.

Speaker 2 (07:19):
That's true. Yeah, it's kind of bananas, Yeah, for sure.

Speaker 1 (07:22):
It really is. All right now, speaking of national champions
I mean you got to look at the Oregon Ducks.
What they did to Utah yesterday. I couldn't believe it.
They took him apart. I'm they're gonna go watch a
pretty good ball game thirty five to six, and bow
Knicks completed as something like fourteen of his first fifteen passes.
It was unbelievable. He's got the Heisman wrapped up and
Oregon looks like they're gonna win it all.

Speaker 2 (07:44):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (07:44):
I mean, they did a really good job of dismantling Utah.
They jumped on them from the jump to beat them
in a look a hostile environment.

Speaker 2 (07:53):
They came out played well.

Speaker 3 (07:54):
Bow Knicks has played really, really well, and he should
have played well. He's an experienced player. I mean, may
have the most starts of any college quarterback in the
NFL in college history, college football history.

Speaker 2 (08:05):
I mean, he has fifty six fifty seven starts.

Speaker 3 (08:08):
That experience has led him to have a great level
of expertise when it comes to playing the game. And
he's playing really really well. And you're right about the
Heisman Trophy. He has to be the front runner from
it because he's out playing everybody else that was in contention.

Speaker 1 (08:21):
You know, believe it or I do listen to everything
you say. I even sometimes take notes. And you basically
said that some of these college quarterbacks who never had
much experience in college as a matter of fact, playing games,
you know, are kind of a risk factor going to
the next level. This bone Nix right now, with the
amount of games he's played, is going to be a
hot commodity in the draft. There's no doubt about that.

Speaker 2 (08:44):
He might be a high commodity.

Speaker 3 (08:45):
Now, I don't know how hot we're talking about, Like,
are we talking about first round hot? I think we're
probably talking about second round hit. He has some talent. Yeah,
I don't know if he's a lot to be a
first round player. He's super experienced in those things, but
you know, you have a lot of I mean a
huge body of work. I think his comparison be very
similar to the comparison that we had with Kenny Pickett, right,

(09:07):
Kenny Pickett was an older player to end the league,
was like a fifth year player, almost six year player,
like just been around college for a long time. I
think that benefited him at the collegiate level. But from
a pro standpoint, how much more upside does he bring
to the table when you played that long at the
collegiate level? Yeah, this should be a mastery. Now does

(09:28):
that mastery continue to work for you when you get
to the National Football League? That's what scouts have to determine.
I'm not convinced though, that it's a lock that he'll
be one of those guys that you talk about as
a franchise quarterback. At the top, top five, top ten,
there you.

Speaker 1 (09:42):
Go, Okay, this game drove me nuts. Oklahoma loses to Kansas.
Did Jayhawks snap an eighteen game losing streak against the Sooners?
They've beaten thirty eight to thirty three. And I ask
you this, the undefeated Oklahoma team, basically they will ranked
number six in the nation. They're basically out of the
trip to the college football playoffs right now with that loss.

(10:04):
How does a team like a Kansas, who probably shouldn't
be on the same field as in Oklahoma, come back
and beat Oklahoma yesterday? Tell me how that happens? I mean,
is a team not ready? Is it on the coaching staff?
I don't get it. I really don't understand how that
could happen.

Speaker 3 (10:22):
I would say that what you have is a Kansas
team that is probably underrated because people haven't paid attention
to the job that Lanceleopold has done there. This is
a team that offensively can score points on anybody. So
if you put them in a situation where the game
turns to a shootout, it gives them a chance. And
they have an unbelievable amount of confidence even though they
had lost haveingmen in a row like seventeen or eighteen

(10:45):
in a row. They had a confidence because they've knocked
off some top teams, they kind of know how to
get to the Winter Circle and they were able to
get it done. So to me, it was look a
great win, probably a long overdue win, but it showed
a lot about how part this program has come under
his direction.

Speaker 1 (11:02):
There's no doubt about that. There's six and two right now.
And tell you for the longest time, you know as
well as I do, that Kansas was the doormatch in
that conference. I mean they were terrible. It was just
a big time basketball school and football was just an
after thought waiting for basketball. They're competitive and I've give
them a lot of credit how they could turn that around,
because I don't think there's not a great high school
players in the state of Kansas that play football. But

(11:23):
with this portal situation and hard nosed recruiting, they've turned
that program around. Kansas is a contender right now.

Speaker 3 (11:31):
Yeah, I mean Kansas has done a really really good job.
It rounds are the job that Bill Snyder did a
k State back in the day. You talk about the
you know, not necessarily being a hotbed of high school talent,
but there's a ton of Juco's and JUCO talent that
is right there for them. Lanceleyold has done a really
good job of taking lesser players and finding a way
to get it done. Some of that is from his

(11:51):
experience being at other programs where he didn't have all
the resources, didn't have all the players, but found a
way to kind of, you know, tacnically.

Speaker 2 (11:59):
Put the game in his favor.

Speaker 3 (12:01):
He's in the same thing at a kau And as
they continue to win at KAU more and more players
that make their way there. Obviously you can win there
because the basketball team has done it for years. It's
just a matter of giving the football team enough tradition
and having enough success with the guys who aren't necessarily
like your elite players to then begin to attract some
of those elite players to go to your school.

Speaker 1 (12:20):
And we talk about the changing of the guard. What
about Clemson losing to NC State twenty four to seventeen.
Clemson now four and four, Dalboll Sweeney's probably walking the
streets right now. I mean probably didn't sleep all night long.
I mean four and four. That's an amazing situation. I
don't get it, but that Clemson really and truly has
not has not I guess lived up to what they

(12:41):
thought they would be. But you know what, I guess
it's hard to stay there on top. I mean when
I see a school like Clemson, go down to four
and four and see what Georgia has done the last
two three years, you know, it shows me what Georgia
has accomplished. Really, they've really done really well, and it's
just hard to stay on top of the mountain.

Speaker 3 (12:58):
It is hard to stay on top of the mountain.
It's hard to stay on top of mind because everyone
is shooting at you. Sometimes there can be a level
of complacency that seeps into your program. You begin to
maybe stubbornly think your way is the only way to
get it done, and maybe you make some mistakes out
of your own I would say inadvertent arrogance. You know,
you think that we got this, we know exactly how

(13:19):
we do it, and maybe you don't consider other things.
For Clemson, a lot of it comes down to the personnel.
When Clemson has dominated, they've had an a level quarterback
and a level defensive lines. They don't have that right now.
The quarterback was, you know, really hyped and expected to
be a high end quarterback, he hasn't played to that level.
And then defensively, they just don't have enough stars on

(13:41):
that front line. I am surprised when I looked at
the record, the four and four that they already have
four losses and we're not even at the back end
of the season. To me, that's shocking. The other thing
that happens is when you're at Clemson and you dominate
for so long and you begin to lose. What that
does is that infants ability that you had over the conference,

(14:02):
that the intimidation factor that you had that disappears, and
now people play you differently because before, instead of hoping
to win, they know they can win if they take
care of business.

Speaker 1 (14:13):
Okay, let me wrap it up with this one. Jalen
Smith deflexa Fernando Mendoza passed that was in the end zone.
They were trying a two point conversion try with fifty
eight seconds left, and Southern Cal ends a two game
losing streak with a fifty to forty nine win over
Cal on Saturday. First off, why is Cal going for
a two point conversion? They're going to tie the game
and maybe hopefully win it in overtime. Why are they

(14:36):
doing that. I mean, you got to roll the dice.
I get it. You want to be the gambler and
maybe win by one. But still, in all, come on,
why are you going for the two point when it's
a done deal. You could tie the game at fifty.

Speaker 3 (14:48):
You go for it because you know deep down the
side that your players are not as good as their players,
and so you're trying to win. You have one play
to do it. It's a fifty to fifty situation. You
take the chance. If you feel good about the two
point play that you have dialed up, you make the move.
And so obviously that's how they felt. It's one of
those things with USC for USC to storm back. Give

(15:12):
them credit, but this is a game that if you're
cal Man, you regret the way that you didn't finish
the game off because it's right there for you to
take it.

Speaker 1 (15:19):
Yeah, there's no doubt about that. I'll tell you right now.
There's gonna be a one there at beginning in the
next couple of weeks. For a defensive coordinator at USC,
it's ugly the amount of points they're given up, and
yesterday to give up forty nine points and probably fifty.
Really it's an amazing situation. I mean that team right
now on the offensive side of the ball, they could score,
but they're giving it up big time. They really are.

Speaker 3 (15:41):
Yeah, they are giving it a big time. It's one
of the things that has troubled them for a long time.
They just don't play good enough on defense. And man,
it's hard to be an elite team. It's hard to
compete with the Georgia's, the Alabama's, the top teams of
the college football pecking order. If you don't play a
level defense, it is hard. That about that.

Speaker 1 (17:27):
That's coming up next on Fox Live for the tiraq
dot com studios. He's Bucky Brooks, I'm Andy Furman, and
by the way, let's cut into the NFL right now.
Buck let's go back back in time to Thursday night
the Bills beat up on Tampa twenty four eighteen, and
this is after the Bill's lost to the Patriots the
week before. Go figure the Bill's got done problems they do.

(17:49):
You can't figure this team out. Josh Allen's got turnover problems.
He does when he's not turning over the football. They win,
they lose to the Patriots, They have a close one
with the Giants, they lost to jo Jacksonville Jaguars in
love and then two weeks ago and the last three losses,
they've averaged sixty nine rushing yards a game in four wins,
one hundred and forty five yards a game. It's all
about controlling the football, get that running game going, and

(18:12):
they haven't been consistent with that.

Speaker 2 (18:15):
No, they haven't been consistent with that. But it's the
thing that.

Speaker 3 (18:19):
Going into this week, you know exactly who you are,
and so you know that the formula for winning is
all those things that you pointed out. Run the football,
take care of the football. We got to win in
the kicking game, and then find a way to make
enough plays on defense to give ourselves short field and
scoring opportunities. Once you understand who your team is, and
you can talk to the team and tell them, hey,

(18:41):
this is our best path for winning games. You'll get
more effort, more energy, more focused because they understand that
one they've sampled the wins like this, but two, this
is how they want to win it that they just
need to do the right things to win.

Speaker 1 (18:55):
All right. So the Bills right now, at one point
in time, I would say they'd be in the top three,
top four teams in power ratings. I don't think they're
there anymore. They're certainly in the top ten, but I
don't think in the top three any longer because they're
just not consistent. And that loss to the Patriots really
was a gut wrencher, at least the Bills fans enter
the team itself.

Speaker 3 (19:16):
Yeah, I mean, it is like the gut punch, the
fact that you lose to a Page's team that you
were let's be honest. I mean, you look at dere
Ross and your roster, you feel great about all the
matchups along the board. You just weren't able to do it.
And the thing about the Bill is when they give
the ball away, and is particularly against a team like
New England who wants to play the odds. Who wants

(19:37):
to wait for you to implode? Man, you're playing right
into their hands. And that's what they did there.

Speaker 1 (19:41):
You go. Okay, let's move along right now and look
at this Rams Cowboys game. I'll tell you what, Buck,
I hear these stories about these coaches. You probably know
about it per first, and that they're sleeping in their office.
They're doing game planning, you know, for these ball games. Look,
the next game plan I do will be my first.
This Rams team. I can watch this Rams game and

(20:02):
tell you right now, on first down, they're gonna run
the football. I mean, come on, I just know they're
gonna do that. They're very predictable. It's a predictable offense.
That's what they do. And Dallas right now has an
extra week to prepare for this ball game, and that
extra week really and truly helped the Steelers against the
Rams in Week seven. I think the Rams are that
offense which is predictable, and the extra time Dallas has.

(20:24):
I think Dallas wins this game. Be a close game,
but I think Dallas takes him.

Speaker 2 (20:29):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (20:29):
No, I think the Cowboys are ready to make a
little bit of a move they need to make.

Speaker 2 (20:33):
It run.

Speaker 3 (20:33):
They have the fire pay on offense to get it
done defensively is just about coming together.

Speaker 2 (20:37):
This is the week that they start putting it together.

Speaker 1 (20:39):
There's no doubt about that. You know. I look at
it and I think that Dak Prescott gets a lot
of heat and maybe unwarranted heated times. I mean, he's
not as good as we think he might be, or
people think he might be, but he's really not as
bad as he is. But I will tell you this,
as we talked about this several weeks ago, if I
had a choice to have Kirk Cousins under center at

(21:00):
Dak Prescott and then Chorea statistics are almost they've almost
mirror each other, really, I would I would probably take
Kirk Cousins. Still thinking about that one.

Speaker 3 (21:11):
On no I sorry my thing?

Speaker 2 (21:14):
Oh cut out? Repeat him?

Speaker 3 (21:16):
Think it out. So you're talking about Kirk Curtins. Is
that what you're saying?

Speaker 1 (21:19):
Because well, yeah, I mean I see Dak Prescott gets
a lot of heat, and certainly that position that you play,
the quarterback is going to be the focal point of
a team. But to me, if I had a choice
of Kirk Cousins under center at Dak Prescott, I think
I go with Kirk Cousins.

Speaker 3 (21:34):
I don't know, man, I think they're really close. I mean, look,
it's six on one hand, half a dozen on the other.
They both are about the same because they don't have
notable wins in the postseason. Kirk Cousins, for all the
wonderful things that he's done in the regular season, his
primetime record is this primetime record for Dak Prescott. There's
similar things that kind of plague him. He hasn't been
able to get it done. We've seen the last two

(21:54):
years against San Francisco forty nine is he's fell apart.
He's not delivered when.

Speaker 2 (21:57):
They need him to.

Speaker 3 (21:59):
I think you're really talked about two guys. I don't
know if you can stack one on top of the other.
They both have these wards that would likely prevent you
and your team from get to the next level.

Speaker 1 (22:10):
Right And anybody on Dallas that kind of surprised you
this year, I mean d d Lamb, I I kind
of I'm looking at this guy, but you're not hearing
much about him. The guy's guy like thirty four receptions,
almost five hundred yards receiving, But honestly, I haven't heard
much about him. Really, I just thought that he would
really be a jolt to the offense of this Cowboys team.
At four and two, I expected a little more from

(22:31):
this Cowboys team.

Speaker 3 (22:34):
I mean, I can understand the expectations, but I mean
from a team standpoint, they're trying to run the ball more.
They're trying to be a team that operates more like
a team than a bunch of independent contractor's just taling
up stats for their own game and so and Mike
McCarthy taking over for killing more. He wanted to be
able to control the game based upon what the defense

(22:54):
is doing. If the defense dominated, well, then I can
be a little more aggressive. I can throw it a
little more. If the defense is struggle, then I'm a
dallar back. I'm gonna run the football, try and take
care of it, try and wait for them to kind
of fix whatever's ailing them on defense, and then we
can go that way. And so it's not necessarily about
the stack game. It's about stacking the wins. And if

(23:15):
they continue to stack wins, they gonna be where they
want to be. And then we really would get a
chance to see how does Mike McCarthy get it done
in the playoffs because that's ultimately where he being.

Speaker 1 (23:24):
Just there's no doubt about that. And look, I mentioned
C d Lamb. I think the key to this game
today and maybe on whaleof base tell me defensively, the
Rams have to find a way to control and stop
ce d Lamb because last week the Rams got torched
by George Pickens and Dante Johnson by the Steelers. A
week ago, they got to stop C. D Lamb. I
think if the Dallas Cowboys were looking at any tape whatsoever,

(23:45):
they're going after the secondary today.

Speaker 3 (23:48):
Yeah, I mean, I think you have to go up
to the secondary. You got to continue to be in
attack mode. You gotta hunt a lot of times. What
NFL teams do is early in the game they look
at the things that were on your tape. They gave
you issues, and they're going to show them to you again.
And if you have improven that you have an answer
for it. You'll continue to see all this stuff. That's
just a part of the thing. But they're really close

(24:09):
to getting to think that.

Speaker 2 (24:10):
I just love this time a year.

Speaker 3 (24:12):
As we get to the midpoint, we're beginning to people
see teams kind of embrace what their team identity is
we're seeing teams recognize what they're successful successful blueprint must
look like, and then we begin to see teams kind
of play to those things.

Speaker 1 (24:27):
You know what you bring up a great point that there,
you know, you see what teams were doing. I remember
a year ago the Philadelphia Eagles were passing the football.
Then all of a sudden, about midway, they started running
the ball and it changed things for the Philadelphia Eagles.
But I think there are certain coaches that want to
implement their philosophy rather than adapt to the personnel that
they have to be a better ball club. I think

(24:49):
the Eagles are smart enough to say, look, you know,
let's run the football. And they did, and they really
rolled down the stretch.

Speaker 3 (24:57):
Yeah, I mean that's it. You have to embrace them.
Because we all go into season things we're gonna be
able to play one way. It's gonna look like this
based on all the intel and the studying that we've
done over the offseason. And then you get into the
regular season, you put the pads on, You're like, hey,
we can't play like this. We're not good enough to
play like this. So you have to make a decision.
I could stubbornly beat my head, bang my head against
the wall and say hey, no, we're gonna make this happen.

(25:19):
Or I can adapt, I can figure out a way
to make some tweaks and adjustments to help my my,
my players play at their best.

Speaker 1 (25:27):
There you go, all right, he's Bucket Brooks. I'm may froming.
This is Fox Football Sunday on Fox Sport's ready on
the experiment, the experiment right now, you got to say
it's failing. That's coming up next on Fox Live from
the tiraq dot com studios. But first, here's all your
sports with our guy Dan Byer. Thanks Andy.

Speaker 4 (25:44):
We're gonna start in Major League Baseball where the World
Series is now tied up at a game of peace
the Diamondbacks and Rangers even at a game after Arizona
took Game two in Texas on Saturday night by a
score of nine to one. Meryl Kelly got the win
for Arizona, going seven and striking out.

Speaker 8 (25:59):
Now, he's getting better and better with every start. Was
impressive through impressive, and that's what that's a real good
storty pitcher is able to do. This lineup is extremely
potent and capable of turning it around in a hurry.

Speaker 3 (26:11):
But he made pitches.

Speaker 4 (26:12):
That was Arizona Diamondbacks manager Tory Lavello seen shifts to
Phoenix for Game three on Monday. Arizona's offense, by the way,
their Saturday night sixteen hits. Tommy fam went four for four.
In college football, Arizona the late upset of number eleven
Oregon State twenty seven to twenty four, while in top
five action, Number one Georgia rodded Florida and Jacksonville forty

(26:34):
three to twenty. Number three Ohio State a twenty four
to ten victor against Wisconsin. Well, fifth ranked Washington held
off Stanford forty two to thirty three. If you missed
it on the island, San Jose State a thirty five
to nothing winner against Hawaii. In the NFL, the Titans
have reportedly told running back Derrick Henry that they have
no plans to trade him prior to Tuesday's trade deadline.

(26:55):
That's according to ESPN. Seahawks wide receiver Tyler Lockett expected
to play today against the Browns despite being listed as questionable.

Speaker 2 (27:03):
Guys.

Speaker 6 (27:03):
Back to you, thank.

Speaker 1 (27:04):
You, see you about an hour and now. If you
want to see an ugly offensive game. Watch this one.
We'll get to that in just about a minute. He's
Bucky Brooks and Andy Furman. This is Fox Football Sunday
on Fox Sports Radio. We're going to have a little
yes or no in about eight nine minutes of Bucket Brooks.
But right now, I'll let you know that football fans
be sure to tune into Fox Sports Radio every Sunday morning,
beginning at ten am East in seven am Pacific for

(27:26):
Countdown to Kickoff presented by bet MGM, Brian No, Jeff Schwartz,
a professional better Bill Krakenberger will have you covered three
hours before kickoff. Every Sunday morning. Listen to Countdown to
Kickoff presented by bet MGM right here on Fox Sports Radio,
and of course the iHeartRadio app. Now we got the
Packers are hosting the Vikings today and six games in

(27:48):
the season. Right now, I would say this, Bucky Brooks,
Jordan Love, the experiment is not working. Why do I
say that? Ay, he's no longer a rookie. He's in
the middle of season number three and he was tutored,
I guess, But you could say Aaron Aaron Rodgers in
Green Bay right now, looking at the statistics Jordan Love
is twenty second in passing yards, twenty eighth in quarterback rating,

(28:10):
and tied for second in the league in interceptions with seven.
The experiment is not working and the record shows it
because the Packers are two and four.

Speaker 3 (28:20):
Yeah, the Packers are two and four. I wouldn't say
that the experiment isn't working. I would say that the
puzzles incomplete, meaning they haven't put together the puzzle for
him to operate the way they wanted to operate, which
is more of a manager like than playmaker. And so
when you don't have the ability to control the game

(28:42):
at the line of scrimming because you have injuries on
the front line, you don't have your running back rotation
consistently available to you, it's hard to kind of play
this old school rock and SoC and robot style that
I believe would be beneficial to him. They just don't
have the personnel right now to do it. They have
to live through this until they can beef up.

Speaker 2 (29:00):
Some of the issues that they have.

Speaker 3 (29:02):
But I would say, you're probably disappointed because you started
out slow, but you don't expect to be a playoff team.
You expect to be right around five hundred.

Speaker 2 (29:09):
With the squad right.

Speaker 1 (29:11):
I would say this though, I like the Vikings in
this game. They probably went by about a touchdown. But
if the Green Bay Packers going to be somewhat competitive
in this game, you got to get a little more
production of the running back Aaron Jones and aj Dillon.
You got to do that because again, you got to
run the football. I don't know what the weather is
going to be like in Green Bay today, but across
the country, the weather's really turning, it's getting colder, it's raining,

(29:32):
and they even predict snow in Colorado today. So I
got to believe you got to get that running game going.

Speaker 3 (29:38):
Yeah, you gotta get a running game heated up. Because
what the running game does is it changes how the
defense has to approach you. You got to drop extra defenders.

Speaker 2 (29:44):
In the box.

Speaker 3 (29:44):
It creates more one on one opportunities. Also, you allowed
to I mean, you're you can control the tempo of
the game because you determine how fast you go.

Speaker 2 (29:53):
When you're able to have success on the ground.

Speaker 3 (29:57):
Yeah, it's one of those things that for the Packers
to win the grounding game, the running backs, the ground
game has to be a big part of why they're
winning has to be a big piece.

Speaker 2 (30:05):
Of the post.

Speaker 1 (30:06):
And you do like the Vikings to win this game?

Speaker 2 (30:09):
Yeah, I like the Vikings to win this for sure.

Speaker 1 (30:10):
There we go. Okay, Falcons at the Titans today, And
I said, coming into this segment, if you want to
see an ugly offensive game, watch this game, because right
now you got two offensive, ugly teams right here. Although
I think that perhaps Desmond Ritter might outplay whoever's quarterbacking
for the Titans today because Ryan Tannehill and I think
the Ryan Tannehill era is basically over in Tennessee. Then

(30:32):
we'll see right there. But I think the Falcons they
got to stop the ground game, and that ground game
is Derek Henry, So I think the Falcons can do that.
I think Desmond is going to do that as well.
So I take the Falcons to win, maybe by a
touchdown of this game.

Speaker 3 (30:46):
Yeah, No, Arthur's somehow is the Falcons kind of rolling
despite the I would say the mistakes from a franchise quarterack.
But they're good enough to talented enough. He does a
really good job of creating and exploiting mismatches, and they're
right where they need to be for them to go
even higher though, for them to really seal the deal,

(31:06):
it comes down to how can he help his quarterback.
Quarterback has been up and down, made some plays, but
then you have a laundry list of mistakes that can
just bogg in your mind. If you can continue to
clean that up and work towards trying to play the
perfect game, Yeah, this seems hard to beat.

Speaker 1 (31:24):
Yeah, Desmond Riddle right now, if you look at him,
I mean, he's passed for over sixteen hundred yards, got
six touchdowns, but it got six iron tis. And I'll
tell you right now, if wanted to ask me what
is the biggest weakness on offense with the Atlanta Falcons,
I'd have to say it's Desmond Ridter. He's got some
talent around him. He's the biggest weakness on offense.

Speaker 3 (31:44):
Yeah, he is. He's the one that's holding him back.
The young quarterback is holding him back, the red zone woes,
the defumble's going in not taking care of it, up
and down. Played good one week, so so the next
hard to build around that. And so yeah, he's really
crushed their long term dreams because every time he goes
out there and puts up a clunker, it encourages more

(32:06):
defensive coordinators to put the game on his shoulders and
say that, hey man, y'all, y'all not gonna beat us
with your two best players, your quarterback, and somebody else
is gonna have to take over the game.

Speaker 1 (32:15):
Yeah. And speaking of quarterback, who's gonna be quarterback in
for Tennessee? Is it will Lovis? Is Malik Willis? And
who's quarterbacking there? And I heard the ESPN report Dan
Byer the bother of the Hour that Derek Henry will
not be traded Tuesday. I don't believe it. I think
that cleaning house. I think it's a new era right
now in Tennessee. It's time to rebuild. So I think
that I would not be surprised to see Derek Henry traded.

Speaker 3 (32:36):
Yeah. No, here's the thing I just don't. I think
when someone's been so revered by the franchise, you go
to him and you ask him what it is that
he wants, and if he's okay with being traded, then okay,
you can make the move. But if he's not he
wants to be there, then you do it because you remember,
you got it. It's more than just the players, their families,
and so he would have to uproot his family again

(32:56):
and do all that other stuff. I just don't see
the Titans treating their market play like this. I think
he's a Titan for life.

Speaker 1 (33:03):
Really, I mean, I never I never heard of that
that they go over and ask the player if he'd
like to be traded or not. I mean, I mean,
honestly that that to me is a shock. I understand
what he means to the franchise and the fact that
he's been there for so long, but certainly he's a
big salary chunk and they're not going anywhere. I mean,
Tennessee's not doing anything right now. The Titans at two

(33:23):
and four, and I'm surprised because I think the coaching
staff is good, the good coaching staff. I always look
at them and was loved at style of play that
they have done over the years. But for some reason,
I just they can't get it done. And I think
with Ryan Tannehill, a quarterback now being injured, he's not
going to play anymore. I think that this season basically
is is shot. They're throwing the towel in.

Speaker 3 (33:46):
Yeah, I mean like it is a shot. But this
is a great opportunity for you to evaluate the young players.
You got to spin it some a way where, look,
we don't give the young guys a chance to really
get a jump start on the next season. We believe
in them. I believe we can win games with them,
but we just know we need to get them ready
to play. And so you go through everything, you do
the same routines. You hope they get incrementally better, and

(34:09):
then out of course of the game, like it becomes
where you have functional people that can get out there
and make contributions interesting.

Speaker 1 (34:16):
Do you have any idea who's stunning a quarterback for
Tennessee today, I.

Speaker 3 (34:20):
Would anticipate will Levis starting with Malik Willis coming in,
I think this is the opportunity for them to look
at will Levis and let him throw it all over
the art and show people that maybe he's better than Look,
even the draftees, the draft picks putting a lot of
time and energy into that. But now maybe he can
kind of validate some of those that we're running a
gamble on this talent.

Speaker 1 (34:40):
So you would not be surprised if they play both today.

Speaker 3 (34:44):
No, I mean I think he's even talked about playing
both and talked about maybe Jayleen Hursts going in on
short yard at of those things.

Speaker 2 (34:50):
Yeah, I mean, look, you have.

Speaker 3 (34:52):
To explore it.

Speaker 1 (34:52):
It won't make a difference. I still Atlanta's got this game.
Atlanta's going to be, no doubt about that.

Speaker 3 (34:57):
See.

Speaker 1 (34:58):
And again it's an ugly game. I mean, I'm not
watching this game again. And my good friend Mike North
would say if this game was in his backyard, he
shut the drapes, he wouldn't watch it. There we go,
all right, he's Bucky Brooks on Andy Furman. We on
Fox Football Sunday on Fox Sports Radio. We're gonna do
a little game with the pro. That's Bucky Brooks. Yes,
it's Yes or No with Bucky coming up next. Fox
Sports Radio has the best sports talk lineup in the nation.

(35:20):
Catch all of our shows at Foxsports Radio dot com
and within the iHeartRadio app. Search FSR to listen live.
Yes or No coming right up with Bucky Brooks. Yes,
he is Bucky Brooks. I'm Andy Furman and we are
live from the ti Raq dot com studios. This is
Fox Football Sunday. And by the way, we're in the
final stretch to get tickets to horse racing's biggest moment

(35:41):
of the year. The world's best are headed to sant
Anita for the britest Cup World Championships when November third
and fourth. The count that begins right now. Get tickets
today at britiscup dot com. All right, Bucky, a little
game right now. We're gonna call it yes or no,
and you're on the hot seat. The NFL trade deadline
expires four pm in time on Halloween, and I got

(36:02):
a list of players and you're gonna say yes or
no if in fact they'll be traded or not. Are
you ready for that?

Speaker 2 (36:08):
Yep? Let's do it.

Speaker 1 (36:09):
All right, let's get it going. Okay, I'll give you
a little bit of background on some of these guys.
The Denver Broncos wide receiver Jerry Judy. He's got twenty
five catches, two hund eighty six yards, no touchdowns. Right now,
the big question if he's going to be traded or not.
He's got a fully guaranteed thirteen million dollars salary owed
him in twenty twenty four. Will he go or stay?
Yes or no, Bucky Brooks.

Speaker 2 (36:30):
I think he goes.

Speaker 3 (36:31):
Sean Payne is beginning to clean out those that don't
necessarily fit his vision of the team, don't fit his culture.
Jay Judy doesn't appear to be one of those guys
that's gonna blend in for long for the long term.

Speaker 1 (36:43):
Okay, you'll say he's gonna go. We'll find that out
Tuesday on Halloween. Now, Bucks wide receiver Mike Evans, He's
thirty years old, still pretty productive. He's trying to get
his tenth consecutive one thousand yard receiving season, most ever
at the start in an NFL career. He's six or five,
as you know, he's two into five already won. He's
like a power forward. Really will Mike Evans remain in Tampa?

Speaker 3 (37:09):
I think he does. I think he does just because
the link between he and the franchise for so long.
He stays all right.

Speaker 1 (37:17):
His teammate in Tampa, the linebacker Devin White. He was
the fifth overall pick in the twenty nineteen draft. He
had a trade request earlier this year. Here's a guy
right now, pretty good in that Tampa twenty twenty Super
Bowl run. Maybe he's at a position at times. Does

(37:38):
Devin White remain with the Tampa Bay Bucks.

Speaker 3 (37:44):
Devin White remains because he's a core piece the two
different reasons why he's a core piece. He stays around
for the long terms. That defense top bulls, a head court,
head coach. He wants his defense to be right. That's
why White stays.

Speaker 1 (37:56):
All right, we move along right now to the Arizona
Cardinals and their safety. But a Baker, right now, he's
been injured. Okay, so I give him a break on that.
He was on the field of Sunday six tackles at Seattle.
He could add a spark to another team if he
gets a new face, new uniform. Maybe that's what he needs.
But he is owed no guaranteed money in twenty twenty four,

(38:18):
which makes him somewhat attractive. But a Baker does he
go or stay in Arizona.

Speaker 3 (38:24):
People are inquired, but he's the heart and soul of
the Cardinals team. He has to stay because if you
lose him, man, you just talking about a rudderless ship.
He stays at the corners.

Speaker 1 (38:33):
Okay, let's talk about his teammate right now, Marky's Brown.
He has not really been the number one target Arizona
really hoped for when they got him back in twenty two.
But he's a free agent coming to be. He's a
pretty good deep threat. But we'll see what happens right now.
And look, they're not going to be in the playoffs
this year, so we'll see what happens. Does Brown stay

(38:55):
or go?

Speaker 3 (39:00):
I think he goes. I think he goes. I think
they find a way to move on from him.

Speaker 1 (39:03):
I think here's a biggie. Here's a biggie. And we'll
go now to the charges of LA. They're running back
Austin Eckler. Okay, he's obviously in a war with the
front office. He's always wanted more money. We know about that.
He's in the final year of his team friendly contract.

(39:24):
He's got that ankle injury. He's scored a league best
thirty nine touchdowns since the start of twenty twenty one.
He's averaged like eighty one receptions over the previous four years.
He should be a big part of their offensive plans.
But if they go too and five with the loss
this weekend, is he needed?

Speaker 2 (39:43):
So?

Speaker 1 (39:43):
Does Austin Eckler stay or go with the Chargers?

Speaker 3 (39:47):
I mean he can go because you're not going to
resign him. You've getten your better years out of him.
I think he moves on. Austin Affer is in a
different uniform this time next week.

Speaker 1 (39:55):
I'm with you, and that's it's a big one. Now.
I said that I would not be if running back
Dereck Henry of the Tennessee Titans is gone. ESPN reported
we heard Dan Dan Bayer tell us that at the
bout Him of the Hour that basically they claim he's
gonna stay. Look, a divorce to me makes pretty good sense.
King Henry two time league rushing champ. He's out of

(40:18):
contract at season's end. He's twenty nine. He's on a
team that's two and four. I see Derek Henry goes, Oh.

Speaker 2 (40:28):
I think he says.

Speaker 3 (40:28):
I think they just know that he is a big
part of what they want to do.

Speaker 2 (40:32):
He's a franchise. He has to stay.

Speaker 1 (40:35):
Really, I mean, I think that if he goes, it
would really be a backlash with the with the fan
base over there. We'll see what happens, all right. He's
Bucky Brooks. I'm Andy Ferman. We have Fox Sports Radio,
Fox Sports Football, and one NFL owner has a real beef.
We'll tell you all about it next. Bucky Brooks has
a Halloween special for you that's coming right up. Good morning, everybody,
this is Fox football son that he is Bucky Brooks.

(40:57):
I'm Andy Furman, and we are broadcasting live from the
top iraq dot com studios ti iraq dot com. We'll
help you get there on a matched selection, fast free shipping,
free road has a protection. I had over ten thousand
recommended in stallers ti iraq dot com. The way tire
bying should be, Bucky. It is amazing to me that
all of a sudden now, and there's no coincidence that
the World Series has skipped Sunday, which always has been

(41:19):
a tremendous weekend date for the major leagues and play
obviously the World Series, but they will not go head
to head with the NFL. It is not a coincidence.
I mean I feel that I saw that when they
they gained the game on Friday night and Saturday, they're
skipping Sunday because they just cannot go head to head
with the NFL. And they won't.

Speaker 3 (41:39):
Yeah, no, you can't. I mean, it's the biggest master
just out there. Everyone knows that everyone has always recognized
their football is king. This is just a public acknowledgement dead.
No matter what we do, no matter what we try,
how we add to it, we still cancer. Buse, we
still cancer pass the National Football League when it comes
to the daily aportment watching.

Speaker 1 (41:57):
You're exactly right now. But no, everybody, I'm gonna say
this once and for all. I've said many times when
Bucky Brooks is a writer for NFL dot com and
you're really crazy. If you love the NFL, you got
to go to NFL dot com and see what he
writes about, because he wrote something this week which I
want him to share with everybody it because I think
it's wonderful. It really is. It's all about the play
calling and what keeps coaches up at night. And I

(42:20):
guess it's one of those things that coaches really stay
up at night big because they have to counter the
act offensive players and or defensive players in their game plan.
And you had a couple of players that game planning
nightmares at five different positions. And you started off with
Christian McCaffrey. What makes him so difficult? And why aren't

(42:40):
there more players coming out of the backfield that can
catch the football like a Christian McCaffrey.

Speaker 3 (42:47):
Yeah, we'll make some some Tessea bounces all over the place.
He can do it as a run, he can do
it as a receiver col standahand has a perfect guy
to create and dictate these mismatches because when McCaffrey's on
the field, all on him and because he catch the
ball so well, you got to treat him like our
receiver in space.

Speaker 2 (43:04):
But he also is able to run routes and do.

Speaker 3 (43:05):
All these other things inside the box to create chaos
and bust up your bracket rules. In those things, you
just have to really try and contain them. You can't
slow him down, You just have to try and contain them.

Speaker 2 (43:17):
Limited touches.

Speaker 3 (43:18):
Hit him after you to catch and hope that it's
not a great day for him.

Speaker 1 (43:21):
Okay, this guy's a four time first team All Pro.
He's averaging one hundred and eight alms one hundred and
nine receiving guards a game since arriving the Miami Tyreek Hills.
His name, How do you stop this guy? How to defense?
The Tyreek Hill coaches stay up all night long game
planning for this guy.

Speaker 2 (43:37):
Yeah, now, this is a tough one.

Speaker 3 (43:40):
It's a tough one because his speed is so real
and we've seen this speed translates into big plays and
with Tyreek Hill been in the offense kind of mastered
or directed by a wonder boy. They do a lot
of different things specifically to get in the ball so
you got to keep your eyes on them at all times.
You got to no wids worry about.

Speaker 2 (43:57):
Sorry.

Speaker 3 (43:57):
You got to make sure that someone someone pressed or
over top on those sides, and you just got to play.
I mean, you got to play like he is a
handful when it comes to try and slow him down.
Not many that are built with his kind of skills.

Speaker 1 (44:11):
Okay, now, this guy's a first Ballad Hall of Famer
Travis Kelce to tight end for Kansas City. But you
call them a freestyle specialist, What exactly does that mean?
A freestyle specialist?

Speaker 3 (44:26):
Yes, no, yes, yeah, no, no no. When I think about
when I think about these dudes, and I think about,
like the guys that are able to get it done
at the position is because they have special traits. And
the special traits that these guys bring to the table
is their ability to.

Speaker 2 (44:43):
Win one on one matchups.

Speaker 3 (44:44):
And when you have someone who can win the one
on one matchups like this, you're trying to create opportunities
for them to feast and to kind of get busy
at the point of attack. And so when I think
about Miles and moving around and dancing around and doing
all this other stuff. It's about creating that kind of stuff.
He is unique in terms of just his natural athleticism
and what he brings to the table. And so what

(45:05):
Sours has done, what others have done, is they've given
him the freedom to kind of pick and choose who
he wants.

Speaker 2 (45:10):
To work on.

Speaker 3 (45:11):
We've seen he can't be blocked by all pro type guys.
So now you give him an opportunity to have a
free run at the quarterback against what they call a
quote unquote fish, he wins. And so because he wins
and wins often, there are a lot of people that
out there looking for a playmaker like that.

Speaker 1 (45:23):
That's defensive end, Miles Garrett.

Speaker 2 (45:25):
Okay.

Speaker 1 (45:25):
Now, and last, but not least, you talked about Micah
Parson's the linebacker for the Dallas Cowboys, really is taking
the league by storm, as you mentioned, in his first
two years in the National Football League. And you say
he is a hybrid linebacker, pass rushing specialist. Okay, and
also you say he could aligned anywhere along that defensive front.
An interesting kind of person, but a very difficult guy

(45:47):
to defend against.

Speaker 3 (45:48):
Yeah, he's interesting. Because of the Versatilian and how dan
Quinn deploys him in terms of moving him all over
the formation. He can line up as an off the
ball linebacker, he can line up on the edges, he
can line up in started working on the guard. And
because he's so athletic, I mean, you talk about a
guy who is ridiculous athletic, trade sixty four two hundred
and forty five pounds, fast off the edge, super explosive

(46:10):
in terms of being able to turn that speed into power,
but also has a knack for being able to blitz.
He can time the blitz, he can time it from off.
He has the speed to put his hand down and
come off the dirt. He wears out offensive guards when
he comes from the second level. Just really really hard
to deal with, not only from a physical standboard, but
from a schematic standpoint. And when you have a player

(46:32):
like that and you free him up to do so
many different things like they've done, it just makes it
difficult to slow him down.

Speaker 1 (46:38):
All right, that's Bucky Brooks NFL dot Com Catch and Me,
he writes down on Friday's tremendous stuff. It really is.
Bug I really enjoy that, Okay, I'm going to move
along to this game the Saints the Colts, and I
want to talk about Jim Mersey or the Colts because
two days after his team was flagged for two key
penalties it turned out to be the game winning drive
for the Cleveland Browns. The owner of the Colt, Jim Mersey,

(46:59):
said that the league informed him quote officials did not
make the correct calls. They said that to him, and
he went back and he posted that on the media side.
X formerly known as Twitter followed the discussions that he
said he had with the league officials, which probably was
the wrong thing to do, but it shows what kind
of an owner he is. He's really taken it personally.
The first penalty was an illegal contact call on the

(47:21):
linebacker of the coach, Darryl Baker Junior that wiped out
a potential game winning fumble recovery, and the second one
was a defensive pass interference also against Baker, gave the
Browns the ball. The Coats won thirty three seconds to go,
being but a bang of the game was over thirty
nine to thirty eight Coats loss. Now, as far as
I'm concerned pass interference, it should never be called. If

(47:43):
a receiver has no chance to catch the ball. Do
you agree with that?

Speaker 3 (47:47):
You talking about the uncatch for a room, I mean
it needs to be with them.

Speaker 2 (47:51):
Yeah, it needs to.

Speaker 3 (47:52):
Be within proximity, with like a reasonable proximity where you
can make a catch.

Speaker 2 (47:56):
It needs to be there.

Speaker 1 (47:57):
It's amazing. I mean, I respect what Jim Mersey did.
I think that he's an aggressive owner. He wants to win,
and he said the officials told him. I'm sure the
officials had no thought that it would go public, but
it did. But if you watch that game, I'm sure
you did. They were robbed the Colts. I thought the
culture robbed against the Browns of that game. And the
officiating this year probably is subpar. I think it may

(48:20):
be the worst I've seen in the NFL in years.
And I think a lot of people are scratching their
head because of the gambling I aspect saying, maybe, you know,
maybe there's a correlation with poor officiating, and maybe some
of these officials perhaps allegedly are on the take. I'm
not saying they are, but I think with the gambling
I aspect out there, there's always that possibility that cloud exists.

Speaker 3 (48:43):
Yeah, I mean, it's always a possibility. There are a
couple of different things that are going on with officials
down at the lower levels. Is hard to find guys
who want to be officials, because you have to remember
NFL officials don't just start out as NFL officials.

Speaker 2 (48:55):
They start out working high.

Speaker 3 (48:56):
School games and college games, then go from college to
the pros where the lower levels you're having a tough
time attracting officials because of all the abuse they take
from the parents, from the coaches, and those things. So
you're already working at a deficit because there's a shortage
of good quality officials and the lower ranks, and then
as they send and make their way to the pros,
I mean, the pro game is so much faster than

(49:17):
you can ever imagine, and with the TV coverage and
stuff breaking things down to the nanosecond on slow mode replays,
we are expecting more from my officials than we probably
should expect. If you want a perfect game officiated, you
need to put a.

Speaker 2 (49:32):
Robot out there.

Speaker 3 (49:32):
You need to put someone who with AI understands all
the stuff and can do it. But if you go
into an account for the human element, there's gonna be
some things that are mistakes and have you choose the
air that laundry. You certainly can have a discussion about
like coaches not being I mean officials and owners not
being able to take like those mistakes and those memos

(49:53):
that they get from the league and put them on
social But I mean the league tries to own up
to their mistakes and they did. Unfortunate that now it's
public that everyone knows that this guy made a mistake
on back to back players and across the team.

Speaker 1 (50:05):
Of the game, right and for the uninformed out there,
I mean, honestly, they should realize that officials are part
time employees of the National Football League, and we hear
this argument almost every single year they should go full time.
I'm not so certain to make that much of a difference.
You've got full time umpires in Major League Baseball and
they screw up at times as well. So I think
making it full time will not make the officiating any better.

(50:27):
I don't think. So what about you that may make
it better?

Speaker 3 (50:31):
Just in terms of like you have to have an
invested interests and so if you're full time, now I
can call meetings and zooms and expect that you're there
to learn to get up to date training etc. So
that would certainly help. You also have somebody that it's
a profession, it's something that you're inspired to be like,
you get more people maybe into it when you talk

(50:51):
about it in those terms. It's just a problem. It's
not only a problem in the NFL love, it's a
problem all the way down to U sports. It's just
hard to find good guys to officiate these games.

Speaker 1 (51:00):
Right Well, now, today we got the Saints at the Colts.
You got Gardner Misshue playing quarterback for the Colts. He's
at eight turnovers in the last two games. I still
think that the offense is better on the Colts than
the Saints. I just kind of like both teams are
three and four, both teams really going nowhere. But I
would have to say, if I were to be a

(51:21):
betting man, I'd go with the Colts maybe by a
field goal in this game. I think the Colts are
just a little bit better personal wise than than the
Saints are.

Speaker 3 (51:30):
Yeah, I would say there's some internal fractions with the
Saints that I'm.

Speaker 2 (51:33):
Worried about them.

Speaker 3 (51:34):
Worry about Derek Carr overreacting to his teammates failures and shortcomings.
I feel like he has to curb that or he's
gonna find himself quickly exiled and ostracized from his team
for the goals. They play hard. They do a really
good job of playing hard. They try and win with
effort and toughness. They done a really good job of
being in games. A lot of it comes down to

(51:54):
the quarterback. The quarterback has limitations, but when you have
a limited quarterback, what you should do is lean into
the running game. They should have the running game ready
to go. Zach mant I mean, if they get this
running game crank that was Zach Mawson Jonathan Taylor running
out to be hard for the Saints to get with them.

Speaker 1 (52:09):
Yeah, speaking of a team with limited quarterback, let's talk
about the New England Patriots with Mac Jones. Although last
week they beat up on Buffalo and it looks like
New England kind of fixed their line. They made some
moves at right tackle. Well, sef it makes a difference today,
I don't think it will. With this high powered offense
of the Miami Dolphins. Although that offense did not show
at all in Philadelphia last week they lost thirty one
seventeen and last week, as far as the Dolphins were concerned.

(52:33):
They had two hundred and forty four net yards, one
hundred and ninety nine passing yards, and only forty five
rushing yards. But the good news for New England Bill Belichick,
that's win number three hundred. That was over Buffalo last week,
the twenty nine to twenty five game. But I don't
think it's gonna happen today. He will not get three
oh one today.

Speaker 3 (52:49):
Yeah, I don't know. I think the blue prints have
been put out there on how you deal with the
Miami Dolphins. I think as teams settle in and become
more physical against him and knocked their receivers around and
put more owners on tour to make tight window throws.

Speaker 2 (53:01):
That's the way you slowed them down.

Speaker 3 (53:03):
If you play off and you're scared of the big play,
they're going torch you. This feed is just ridiculous. And
with Tyreek Hill being able to do it, Miko Hartman,
MVS is just too hard to do it this way.
I think you have to methodically beat them up. If
you're the Patriots, you got to beat them up. No
free access, no free releases. Put your hands on the
wide receivers every time and see if they have enough

(53:24):
fortitude to kind of fight through those bully board tactics.

Speaker 1 (53:28):
Jalen Wattle Tyreek Hill what a one to two punch.
And I remember when Tyrek Hill left Kansas City, they
thought that he was crazy for doing so. I mean,
this team right now is a real chance to go
all the way. I'm not saying they're going to be
in the super Bowl. I'm not saying they're winning it.
But a team that is five and one, they've surprised
a lot of people too. Is staying healthy That was
a big question right there. But I think right now

(53:48):
Tyreek Hill has proved to the night that the naysayers
that yeah, he's made a difference, and Miami was probably
a pretty good move for him.

Speaker 3 (53:57):
Yeah, it's been a good move for him in that regard.
Now they he's not going to win to the level
that the Chiefs win. The Chiefs are always going to
be in the title hunt. I don't know if the
Miami Dolphins is gonna be that. I think what we
see from the Miami Dolphins, if they're not able to
get the game on their terms, they have a tough
time winning at many Every game needs to be a shootout,
needs to be a track meet. But when these games
become old school physical affairs where they put a premium

(54:20):
on knocking everybody around. They make sure that the corners
are emphasizing putting their hands and choking out Tyreek Hill
at the line of scrimmage every time they get a chance.

Speaker 2 (54:28):
Impressed.

Speaker 3 (54:29):
I don't know if they respond like that to what
I call playoff football. So we'll see. They're a good team.
They're certainly going to be one of those teams that's
in the tournament. I don't know how far they'll go
because they have to have a level of physicality to
their game to advance, and this is not a very
physical team. Everything they do is on their edges on
the perimeter.

Speaker 1 (54:48):
I would say this now. I'm looking forward to next week,
November the fifth, nine thirty Eastern time, the Dolphins are
playing at Kansas City. That's going to be an away game.
You know that. But I have to say right now
that they offer here. In my mind, the Miami Dolphins
offense is better than the Kansas City Chiefs offense. And
I think that offense in Kansas City has been sputtering
at times this year.

Speaker 3 (55:10):
Oh there's no doubt. I mean, you're correct, about that.
They're not playing great on offense. They've been doing just
enough to win. The thing that is encouraging. They've been
off the mark on offense, but the defense played lights
out and they won these games. And so if you're
Mike McCarthy, you feel great about it. There's no need
for you to adjust, just to be adjusting. His team
is built for the postseason, so he has a team

(55:31):
that's ready to go.

Speaker 2 (55:32):
I expect to see them win.

Speaker 1 (55:34):
Do you expect to see who the Dolphins win that game?

Speaker 3 (55:37):
No? I mean look like and then I think when
the Chiefs take on the Dolphins in a week or so,
I expect the Chiefs to knock off the Dolphins. Today
against the Patriots, it'll be a slow, methodical contest. But man,
how much how long can two extend the street against Belichick?
The Dolphins are clearly the better team. I just feel

(55:58):
like the Patriots find a way to get it done.

Speaker 1 (56:00):

seven ninety nine on Fox is our phone number eight
seven seven nine nine six sixty three sixty nine bottom
barrel betting in this hour, and of course the Swollen
Dome as mentioned will join us in our number three.
But today will be the last day you will see

(56:45):
this player wearing this uniform. That's next two of the
very best square off today. We'll get to that end
just about a minute twenty three past the hour. And
this is Fox Football Sunny and Fox Borts Radio. He
is Bucky brook saw Andy Furman, and we got the
Giants hosting the Jets, and they do play in the
same stadium in East North for New York, a New

(57:07):
Jersey that is today, So that game is today Jets
three and three, Giants two and five. And I said
coming into this segment that will be the less time
you see this guy in this uniform. And I'm saying
bucket that sa Kwon Barkley will be gone. On Tuesday,
Halloween Day, which is the trade deadline, sa Kwon Barkey,
the running back of the Giants, will be traded, and
rumor has it that he may be going to the

(57:28):
Baltimore Ravens.

Speaker 3 (57:31):
Yeah. Look, it would be a good deal for the
Baltimore Ravens if they're able to get Saquon Barkley. I
just can't imagine the Giants moving on from Saquon after
watching what their offense looks like without him compared to
what it looked like without Daniel Jones. They look they
made him move to pay Daniel Jones. But it is
absolutely one apparent that Daniel Jones cannot exist without a

(57:56):
power from running game. He can't exist without elite weapons
on the perimeter just to do his thing. So if
you want to be able to validate or justify your
commber to Daniel Jones, keeping Saquan is the only way
to do it because without him, he can't function and thrive.

Speaker 1 (58:12):
Yeah, and speaking of running backs, without Aaron Rodgers on
the Jets right now, the Jets have really relied on
the run. You look at the Giants right now, they're
struggling against stopping the run. So that should make for
a big day for running back Bries Hall on the Jets.
Just give Hall the ball and we'll see what happens
right there, and they Jets could roll to a win today.

(58:33):
What do you think about that?

Speaker 3 (58:36):
Yeah, look, it sounds like a good plan in theory.
They need to stay committed to it. If they stay
committed to it, like they can make those things happen.
I just don't know when I deal with the Jets offensively.
Can they stay committed to running the football? Good, bad,
and different, whether they're getting yards or not. Can they
stick with it? If they can stick with it, yeah,

(58:56):
it certainly will pay off because their defense is good
enough to create opportunities for him to eventually cash in.
But it's the level of commitment that they displayed with
the running game. Can they do it? Haven't done it today,
but maybe they can turn around and make that commitment.

Speaker 1 (59:10):
Okay, let's talk about the quarterback situation you mentioned Daniel Jones.
Tyrod Taylor has played the last two games, and it
seems to me the Giants are better with Tyrod Taylor
at quarterback than Daniel Jones. After the Giants speed Washington
fourteen to seven. Taylor right now in those two games
has combined for four hundred and seventy nine yards two touchdowns,
almost a sixty five percent completion rate. I think they

(59:31):
go with Tyrod Taylor. I mean, they made a big
commitment in the off season for Daniel Jones, big money,
but I think Tyrod Taylor is better suited for this offense.

Speaker 3 (59:42):
He might be better suited, but it's not even in play.
When Drake May is ready and comes back, he's gonna
jump right back into the lineup.

Speaker 2 (59:49):
That's just the way it is.

Speaker 3 (59:50):
And so we can see it here and talk about
it and speculating do allder other stuff, but it's not
gonna happen. He's going to have to be an obvious
pass situation to even consider it. And even then, even
though it'd be tough to kind of continue to pull
it off.

Speaker 1 (01:00:07):
And you're saying that because of the commitment they made,
because it would put egg on their face if they
say we're playing Tyrod Taylor. That's the only reason why
they would do that. Because the big money in the
commitment made to Daniel Jones, not because he's better suited
than Tyrod Taylor, but that's the same embarrassing the money.

Speaker 3 (01:00:24):
The money is the money. When once they pay Daniel Jones,
they got to stick with it. They can't bench him now.
I mean, even though they won a few more games,
moving on from him is the last option just because
of the money in the commitment that you're shown to him.

Speaker 1 (01:00:37):
Okay, let's move on right now to the Jags against
the Steelers Jacks five and two, surprisingly five and two,
Stealers four and two right now, and I talked about
a great matchup today. Two of the best matching up today.
That's the Jags wide receiver Calvin Ridley. He's going against
the Steelers cornerback Joey Porter Junior, two of the best
young players in the league right now. Steel has had
a road win at the Rams last week twenty four

(01:00:58):
to seventeen. Prize of that one. Jacks have a pretty
good balanced offense with Travis atn Is running back and
Trevor Lawrence developing a quarterback. And I have to say
that Jacks are probably going to win this game, even
though the game is in Cleveland in Pittsburgh.

Speaker 3 (01:01:11):
Excuse me, Yeah, it's a tough game. It's tough game
because you could have some weather conditions that impacted rain
is in the forecast, maybe a little wet, some win, win,
and then it's just Distiller's still is a physical team,
their team that has been resilient in the way that
they won games this year, and if you give them

(01:01:32):
an opportunity, they'll hang around and they've shown that they
know how to win these games for the four.

Speaker 2 (01:01:36):
And two records.

Speaker 3 (01:01:37):
So for the Jaguars, it's about playing clean football and
not giving the ball away and then just making sure
you don't give them in their life if you do
get up right.

Speaker 1 (01:01:45):
And Pittsburgh has struggled moving the football. You got Kenny
Pickett Junior, four interceptions, five tds, only percentages quarterback about
sixty percent passing the football. So honestly, the offensive line
has struggled as well, which has hurt the run game
for Pittsburgh, which is coming back a little bit. But
the running game has been not as good as they'd

(01:02:06):
like to see it. I just think the Jaguars have
it all over them. And by the way, the Jaguars
right now are a contender in the AFC. Thanks for
that balanced offense with Lawrence and etn.

Speaker 3 (01:02:17):
Yeah, the Jaguars certainly are a contender and they're kind
of finding their way in. You know, it really has
not been the offense that has kind of sparked the charge,
just the defense. The defense leads the league intakeaways. They've
been able to take the ball away, create short fields
for Trevor Lawrence and the offense, and it's been just enough.
This offense is still trying to find this way. He's

(01:02:37):
still trying to find out how they're going to operate,
how they're going to score points, how they go and
incorporate all the new pieces and remain balanced. But the
thing that you brought out when Travis Attien is a
huge part of the game plan, the offense flows better.
He has to kind of be the focal point of
the offense. And then the past, the game and those
other things a compliment to what Travisittienn is able to
do as a runner.

Speaker 1 (01:02:57):
There he goes, and you like the jack, that's your team.
Anyway you gotta you can't go against them.

Speaker 3 (01:03:03):
I can't go against him, but it's gonna be a
tough one.

Speaker 2 (01:03:06):
There we go.

Speaker 1 (01:03:06):
Oh, Okay, he's Bucky Brooks and Andy from and we
are Fox Football Sunday on Fox Sport's ready. And now
this defense allows big plays and we'll tell you who
they are. That's coming up next live from the tyraq
dot com studios. But first let's hear it from Dan
Bayer with all your sports.

Speaker 6 (01:03:22):
Thanks Andy.

Speaker 4 (01:03:22):
It was singles night Saturday night in Arlington for the
Arizona Diamondbacks.

Speaker 9 (01:03:27):
The pitch swing and a base hitt left field round
third coming to the plate. The throw will come into second.
Scoring is Longoria bought on RBI single by Carol. Now
the Diamondbacks go on top four to one.

Speaker 4 (01:03:40):
They would never look back. Six different Diamondbacks knocked in
runs in a game two victory. Arizona tops the Rangers
nine to one to even up the World Series. Add
a game apiece Diamondbacks Radio Network with the call. The
scene will move to Phoenix on Monday night. A bit
of history Saturday night could tell Martella the Diamondbacks extending

(01:04:01):
his playoff hitting streak to eighteen games. That's the longest
in baseball history. Some college football for it. Arizona tops
Oregon State twenty seven to twenty four. Oregon State came
into the matchup or ranked eleventh in the country. Number
twenty three UCLA took down Colorado twenty eight to sixteen.
Presno State a winner against UNLV thirty one to twenty four.

(01:04:23):
San Jose State blanking Hawaii thirty five nothing. Number one
Georgia had no troubles with Florida, winning in Jacksonville forty
three to twenty.

Speaker 2 (01:04:30):
Third ranked Ohio State.

Speaker 4 (01:04:31):
They had a bit of trouble with the Badgers, but
held out against Wisconsin twenty four to ten, and Washington,
ring fifth in the country, got all they could handle
against Stanford, but the Huskies prevailed forty two to thirty three.

Speaker 3 (01:04:41):
And four wee Kate.

Speaker 4 (01:04:42):
In the NFL, the Dolphins are likely to have running
back Raheem most are available despite being questionable. Seahawk should
have Tyler Lockett and Jamal Adams on the field for
their matchup against the Browns, And speaking of the Browns,
ESPN reports they don't believe in i our stint is
necessary for quarterback DeShawn Watson, who will miss today's game
against Seattle because of his shoulder injury. The report says
Watson is still considered week to week. Brian Burn's gonna

(01:05:04):
go this afternoon for the Panthers as they host the
Texans in Charlotte. He popped up on the injury report
with the elbow injury fellas back to you.

Speaker 1 (01:05:13):
Thank you, Dan. Okay, don't look now, but number one
maybe on the way that's right around the corner. He's
Bucky Brooks. I'm Andy Furman. This is Fox Football Sunny
in Fox Sports Radio. And by the way, we're in
the final stretch to get tickets to horse racing's biggest
moment of the year, the world's best. I headed to
San Anita for the British Cup World Championship when November
third and fourth, the count that begins right now. Get
tickets today at Britis Cup dot com. All right now,

(01:05:36):
we got bona barrow betting coming about six seven minutes
from now. But the Eagles are playing the Commanders today.
Eagles six and one, Commanders three and four. And basically
in Week four the Eagles struggled to win. That game
was overtime thirty four to thirty one over those same Commanders.
It was big plays that I wanted for them. Aj

(01:05:56):
Brown at wide receiver. Washington's defense allows those big plays.
I don't think I'll be a problem. See Devonte Smith
and Brown and wide receiver. They should probably destroy the
Washington secondary. They win this game a lot bigger than
they won the first game, and it will not go
into overtime.

Speaker 2 (01:06:13):
Yeah, now everyone going to overtime. This really good one man.

Speaker 3 (01:06:16):
This These these are always good games to kind of watch.
And there's a lot of buzz around the commanders and
what's going on Ron Rivera and that crew and can
they fix it? How long will Magic Johnson and that
that ownership crew kind of tolerates on the mediocrity that
we've seen from this franchise, And so we hear that

(01:06:36):
because a lot of these guys could be dangled at deadline.
You're thinking about Chase Shong, You're thinking about Montess what
this has to be one where I think they begin
to play and dependent upon how they look in this
contest will ultimately determine if they continue to trot it
down this path. And so I think you'll see a
very spirited effort from the Commanders and look, they've proven
they can get it done. Maybe they get it under that.

Speaker 1 (01:06:57):
Yeah, I'd like to see him get it done today.
I'll tell you why you know, we had a lot
of problems talking about Sam Howell, the quarterback in Washington,
basically saying he's a stopgap. Look, I'm going back to
week four. He was sacked five times. But really and
truly he got the job done. He was passing the
ball quickly, got released it quickly, moving out of the pocket.

(01:07:18):
He got to see Terry McLaurin and Curtis Samuel. I mean,
he got the job done. A none fault of his
own that they lost that game by three in overtime,
So he's getting the job done. I just think defensively,
they got to show it up, get a little tighter,
especially in the secondary.

Speaker 3 (01:07:34):
Yeah, they absolutely, he can tighten it up in the secondary.
And that's the one thing that you wondered about with them.
Can they plaster when when the quarterback leaves the pocket.
Can they tighten it up and challenge more the throws
that we've seen them concede on the perimeter. That's what
the good teams do. They don't They don't give you
an easy down. They make you work for everything. That's
kind of how they have to approach this going forward.

Speaker 1 (01:07:56):
Here we go, all right, so we both like the
Eagles in this game, but I will not go into
over time. Now the Texans are playing the Panthers. Panthers
still looking for their first win. They're owing six. Texans
are three and three. Panthers wide received Adam feeling. This
guy's hot hot at the Firecracker forty receptions and three
touchdowns in his last four games. And the Panthers with

(01:08:17):
the number one Houston defense, their defense average is like
two hundred and forty five yards passing guard yards a game.
They give that up. So I think the Panthers have
a shot today to celebrate and get win number one.
Win number one today the Panthers because of the weak
Houston defense giving up two hundred and forty five passing

(01:08:38):
yards a game.

Speaker 2 (01:08:41):
Yeah, this is an interesting one.

Speaker 3 (01:08:44):
You talk about giving up so many yards, and when
you give up that many yards, big plays come, and
big plays are the easiest way to score points. And
so if you want to be a defense, you got
to eliminate the explosives. Can' let the ball floulder the
top of the defense. You got to keep everything inside.
And it's one of the things that they've worked on.
And this is a team man just so desperate for
a win. So I believe in a one game scenario,

(01:09:06):
I think they tighten it up. I think they get
back on track. I think they find a way to
get to the winner.

Speaker 1 (01:09:10):
Scholar, Well, look, I'm not saying that the Panthers defense
is is world class because the Panthers defense has also
been pretty soft against the run. They've allowed one hundred
and forty four rushing yards a game. Houston Damian Pierce,
they're running back. He's averaging only two point nine yards
in a ten. He could get his stats up pretty
good today as well. It's gonna be a game that's

(01:09:32):
gonna score points. I think the over run that this
will be about fifty plus points in this game. But
I think the Panthers have a shot. The game is
in Carolina.

Speaker 10 (01:09:40):
They do.

Speaker 1 (01:09:41):
I mean, come on, I think this team's gonna win today.
What do you think? Do you think they got a shot?

Speaker 11 (01:09:45):
No?

Speaker 3 (01:09:46):
I think this is the one for him, which is
why I was saying like this this is the one.
So here, here's the other thing everyone has talked about CJ.
Straw versus Bryce Young to hear all that stuff, this
might be the rallying crowd for the teammates to kind
of take their game up and not might not be
a sustainable model for them going forward, But one game,
maybe they turn't take it up a notch just because
they're tired of hearing about CJ's better than Bryce, etc. Etc.

(01:10:09):
This is a chance for them to sell on the
field because I think the energy brings about a positive
vibe that allows them to win that first.

Speaker 1 (01:10:15):
Yeah, CJ Strout obviously the number two overall pick in
the draft last April. He's leading one of the best
offensive attacks in the National Football League. How surprised are you,
Buck that CJ is really head and shoulders above the
rest of the quarterback class this year.

Speaker 3 (01:10:34):
Look, I'll say that I'm not surprised that he is
because watching him at Ohio State, he was the most
natural passor of everyone in the group. Love Bryce Young
in those things, but CJ is a prototype. He's a
prototype that you built around and when you had a
chance to watch him earlier, watched him second game against
the Jacks, didn't have four of us five starting offensive linement,
didn't matter, found a way to move the ball up

(01:10:54):
and down the field, didn't turn the ball over. Has
made these rhythm throws that we expect from high level passes.
He does all that and you know, sometimes you may
not become the first guy off the board, but you
land in the right spot. He's landed in the right spot.
It's the perfect perfect storm for young player in the league.

Speaker 1 (01:11:12):
You got nine touchdowns only one I int you talk
about Bryce Young? Bryce Young right now? Six touchdowns for
our deceptions. But in week six, Week six, two weeks ago,
Bryce Young has short a little life that is playmaking ability.
But we saw that then. You know, maybe it takes time.
I mean, look, the guy's not going to come into
the NFL and start. You can make the fireworks go off.

(01:11:35):
It just it doesn't happen that way. You have to
adapt and certainly adapt to the system you're in and
the personnel that's around you. And I think it's taking time.
And really and truly this Panther team as itself has
to gell they're not. I mean I didn't expect them
to be oh and six, did you No?

Speaker 3 (01:11:52):
Absolutely did not did not see this coming. It was
not on my bingo card. But sometimes you get deal
a bad hand, and that's what they got.

Speaker 2 (01:12:00):
Dealt with it. They just have not been able to
get it done.

Speaker 3 (01:12:02):
They overvalued maybe overestimated some of their own personnel, and
that has led them to kind of have to go
and see if they can get it fixed, either through
the draft or with free agency. But in doing that,
you gave away so much draft capital to get Bryce young.
So now what you're hoping on really is that your
quarterback can get it done.

Speaker 2 (01:12:21):
He can mask some of your flaws.

Speaker 3 (01:12:22):
That's a lot to ask a young player to do,
but he's going to have to do it because that's
the only way depends on gonna be able to win
in this current model.

Speaker 1 (01:12:29):
It's amazing the Textas have only rushed for one touchdown
the average three point two. You ad to carry both
teams coming off a bye week. But I think that
Buyewey is going to help the Panthers more so in
the Texans. They got to revamp, They got the new
guy calling the play, so we'll see what happens there.
So both both of us kind of think that the
Panthers getting number one today, we'll see what happens. All right.

Want to sleep people, get my money.

Speaker 12 (01:13:51):
I'll put your brain to sleep.

Speaker 1 (01:13:52):
Betting is but welcoming in back. Shay Sha, we missed you.
Take it over, baby.

Speaker 11 (01:13:57):
It's going to be back as I miss the betting
man out of withdrawal. Honestly, I had to go back
on Avada and play some bets myself, but.

Speaker 6 (01:14:06):
I betting with you.

Speaker 1 (01:14:08):
I lost. I lost bit time for the chicken wings
with you.

Speaker 6 (01:14:11):
Oh yeah, you can't bet against me. Come on, you
can't beat against the Browns.

Speaker 1 (01:14:14):
I'm not doing it.

Speaker 11 (01:14:16):
All right, let's get back to it. I missed you guys.
In the German basketball who won last?

Speaker 10 (01:14:22):
Oh?

Speaker 3 (01:14:22):
So? Yeah?

Speaker 11 (01:14:22):
Patrick actually sent it to me. Andy, great comeback. Honestly,
you needed it. I'm so happy to see that.

Speaker 1 (01:14:29):
I did need it because I want to beat the pro.
He's good at everything he does, and I could beat
him in something that makes me feel good. It really does.
He's a pro.

Speaker 11 (01:14:38):
You know, it was getting it was getting to a
point where I just felt bad for you. Andy, Thanks seriously,
but no, that's it was good. I was very happy
with that. But yeah, let's get right into it. In
the German Basketball Bundesliga, the krelsheim Merlins are taking on
the Telecomb Baskets bond later this morning at nine am
Pacific Standard time. The over under is set at one

(01:14:59):
hundred sixty nine point six. You guys got the over
or the under?

Speaker 3 (01:15:05):
Over over over here, I take the over.

Speaker 1 (01:15:09):
I'm gonna go with the under. I think it's gonna
be a good defensive battle. I just really have a
feeling that Marlins have a good press. Full court pressure
for the.

Speaker 11 (01:15:17):
Marlins defense is huge in German basketball, you know, in
these yeah. In the futsal Leaga Nationale in Spain, the
Manzanares f S is taking on Real Carta Jenna at
nine am Pacific Standard time later today. Manzanares FS is

(01:15:39):
plus one forty five while Real Cartan Jenna is plus
one ten. A draw is plus three eighty. So again,
if you do the draw it is double points.

Speaker 1 (01:15:49):
Really, mister Brooks, given your names again.

Speaker 3 (01:15:55):
It was Jenna.

Speaker 11 (01:15:56):
It's Mark man Zanares and Real Carjena.

Speaker 2 (01:16:04):
Okay, that last one, I'll the last time.

Speaker 1 (01:16:06):
Real, yeah, Real, He's just give me the names again,
like he really knows Manzanares FS and Real Cartagena.

Speaker 6 (01:16:15):
I had to look at the pronunciation and everything.

Speaker 1 (01:16:17):
I'm gonna go. I'm going f s just because he
went with real all right, because he doesn't know these games.
Bucket doesn't know he's trying. That's the sign game game game.

Speaker 3 (01:16:28):
I just we'll see, We'll see your.

Speaker 6 (01:16:30):
Footsal God, you never know. Yeah.

Speaker 11 (01:16:34):
Next in the Danish, I might murder this one hand
bold Leguyan. It's basically a hand is the handball league.
It's a handball league. Yeah. So HF Mores is taking
on sonder YESK today at six am Pacific Standard time.
HF Moors is minus one twenty while sonder Yesk is
minus one fifteen.

Speaker 3 (01:16:59):
This mean Bucky okay, Sunday Yes, Sunday Yes, because I
can pronounce it.

Speaker 1 (01:17:07):
You know, Bucky thinks I I'm a gentleman because I
let him go first. I'm doing it not because I
want to hear who you're betting on, just because I
want to see if you even know these guys. But
I'm going with HF. HF is my team. Ma HF
Danish so a Danish right now?

Speaker 11 (01:17:23):
And Uh, I wanted to go with a fighting kind
of thing, you know, with with yesterday's fight, I was
thinking with the bare knuckle Fighting Championship.

Speaker 6 (01:17:31):
David, do you guys watch that? By the way, you
guys ever seen that.

Speaker 3 (01:17:35):
Yeah, I've seen it.

Speaker 2 (01:17:36):
It's pretty brutal.

Speaker 6 (01:17:36):
It's great though. I mean it's it's tending, but it's brutal.

Speaker 11 (01:17:39):
But anyway, in the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship, David Mandel
is taking on Doug Coltran on November third at five
pm Pacific Standard time. During BKFC fifty two. Mondel is
minus one sixty five while Coltrane is plus one twenty five.

Speaker 2 (01:17:54):
Mm hmm, is Andy's turn.

Speaker 1 (01:17:58):
Okay, I'm gonna go. I'm gonna go with Doug. I'm
going with Doug in this one. And uh, I may
even watch this game.

Speaker 6 (01:18:05):
This is it is entertaining if you've never seen it.

Speaker 1 (01:18:07):
Yeah, I like that. It's brutal.

Speaker 2 (01:18:09):
I like that.

Speaker 1 (01:18:10):
I like that kind of stuff. Doug's my guy.

Speaker 2 (01:18:13):
We don't Doug is. I'll just go with Cold Trane.

Speaker 6 (01:18:16):
So that that is Doug.

Speaker 2 (01:18:19):
Okay, that's what first.

Speaker 1 (01:18:23):
He follows me. He knows what I'm doing.

Speaker 3 (01:18:25):
He knows like a Cold Trane.

Speaker 6 (01:18:29):
So I don't think we've done cricket before. In the
women cricket.

Speaker 1 (01:18:33):
Does he make a difference.

Speaker 6 (01:18:34):
It doesn't, It really doesn't. I'm trying to change it up.
Two weeks ago you were complaining you could put.

Speaker 1 (01:18:39):
These guys' names in a different sport. I wouldn't know
the difference.

Speaker 6 (01:18:42):
I bet you don't even know what the first one was.

Speaker 1 (01:18:45):
Man.

Speaker 11 (01:18:47):
In the women cricket Big Bash League, the Hobar Hurricanes
are taking on the Sydney Thunder on Saturday at twelve
ten am Pacific Standard time. The Hurricanes are plus one
thirty while the Thunder are minus one.

Speaker 2 (01:19:01):
Oh it's easy. We're going rock you like a hurricane.

Speaker 3 (01:19:03):
How about that?

Speaker 2 (01:19:04):
Love that? That was quick too? Oh my god, you know,
excuse me.

Speaker 1 (01:19:09):
I think he may know this. I mean he may
have seen him play the women cricket. I'm going with
the Sydney Thunder. I'm going with Sydney, Sydney's thunder.

Speaker 3 (01:19:18):
Buck.

Speaker 6 (01:19:18):
He's got insiders, I know, Bucky does.

Speaker 1 (01:19:21):
He knows this. He's a world traveler, he knows this.
He's seen these games. I bet you've seen a cricket match, Buck.

Speaker 11 (01:19:27):
Have you?

Speaker 3 (01:19:28):
I have seen it.

Speaker 2 (01:19:28):
I don't know what I'm looking at, but I've seen it.

Speaker 6 (01:19:30):
I actually saw one this year. I just story on
cricket recently. Really it's pretty big.

Speaker 1 (01:19:36):
I gotta get out more. I got to see some
more cricket.

Speaker 11 (01:19:38):
It's growing, it's growing in the States. They want to
build a stadium out here, well I think they're yeah,
they're they're thinking about building like a big stadium here.

Speaker 1 (01:19:45):
Well, you know, they have women's hot to have a
women hockey league now professional hockey. They could have cricket
on TV. They could have pickleball on TV soon too,
with the leagues.

Speaker 6 (01:19:54):
I love pickle ball.

Speaker 1 (01:19:55):
Do you play?

Speaker 6 (01:19:56):
Are you kidding?

Speaker 11 (01:19:57):
I'm God's come on, I show up and all you
need his youth and you're good at that game?

Speaker 1 (01:20:09):
Really? Wow? I got the buck. You play pivot ball too?

Speaker 3 (01:20:13):
No, I don't play. I don't play pivvlewall No, no interest.

Speaker 1 (01:20:17):
What do you do right now? I'm just curious?

Speaker 2 (01:20:19):
You know, just yoga? I just I just do yoga.
That's what it is.

Speaker 6 (01:20:22):
Hot yoga and just yoga, all of it all.

Speaker 2 (01:20:27):
Well, how you're good luck. It's elevated. Is heated?

Speaker 6 (01:20:29):
Its elevated, Like you're in and you're like doing yoga.

Speaker 3 (01:20:34):
Yeah, gotta be bendy andy, Yeah, gotta be.

Speaker 1 (01:20:37):
Ben Hey they swallow dumb. He does it too. He's
filling on a snag. Swallow dump coming up next. You

Ay find him on Twitter at Andy Furman fsr AM.
I supposed to call it X now officially, I don't know.

Speaker 1 (01:21:13):
I don't care.

Speaker 12 (01:21:14):
I go by what I know, maybe just because I'm old,
cranky and set in my ways broadcasting legend. Alongside him,
We've got our guy, Bucky Brooks, five years in the league,
analysts works over with the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Speaker 10 (01:21:26):
We heard him breaking down that game.

Speaker 12 (01:21:28):
That's one of the highlights on a week eight schedule
the Jaguars and Steelers. At Bucky Brooks where you find
him on Twitter. Good morning, gentlemen, how are we doing
this fine morning? Already halfway through our NFL season?

Speaker 2 (01:21:42):
Feeling good?

Speaker 1 (01:21:43):
The harm man? What's going on?

Speaker 10 (01:21:45):
Fellas?

Speaker 1 (01:21:45):
We got the world series going.

Speaker 12 (01:21:47):
We had the great image that everybody was putting their
thoughts on yesterday from the fight Tyson fury in Enganu
where you've got a murderer's row of Vince McMahon, the Undertaker,
Mike Tyson.

Speaker 1 (01:22:01):
And M and M. Anybody want to comment on that?
Not really, but you realized yesterday maybe a first I
don't know, I haven't gone back and check, but every sport,
every major sport, was in play, including MLS playoffs. Think
about that, NBA, NHL, MLS, major League Baseball, everything well,
NFL was not.

Speaker 12 (01:22:22):
Well, but because of the dopey scheduling rules, Andy, we
get a full slate of NFL games this weekend.

Speaker 10 (01:22:27):
Zero buys.

Speaker 12 (01:22:29):
Riddle me that one, Bucky all about players, safety, spreading
it out product, blah blah blah. Hey week eight, no buys,
let's go.

Speaker 3 (01:22:38):
Yeah, No, it's kind of crazy.

Speaker 2 (01:22:39):
No buys.

Speaker 3 (01:22:40):
They go through it, but they know how they stagger
some of them. So with the extra week you gotta
kind of set it all. It's weirdo to have six
bys last week and none this week.

Speaker 10 (01:22:49):
This seems a little crazy, but it's good to be
with you gentlemen here.

Speaker 12 (01:22:52):
Obviously, one game in the books already Buffalo and Tampa Bay,
the long Drive and perhaps the best Hail Mary past
ever thrown.

Speaker 1 (01:23:01):
Uh.

Speaker 12 (01:23:01):
And then we start counting the ways offensive and defensive
pass interference doesn't matter.

Speaker 1 (01:23:06):
We move on and and here we are with the
full slate of games.

Speaker 12 (01:23:10):
I'm actually gonna get to go to a game later
on to watch the greatness that is Tyson bagent uh
and the Chicago Bears against the Chargers. I will scream myself, horse.
We'll see if I'm able to rally from Monday night
football and the Raiders and the Lions and and hopefully
I won't be caught up on any fights. So I'll
make sure I watch what I say, and I'll make

(01:23:32):
sure to uh, you know, not look at anybody's side.
Maybe I put down the sunglasses like Dion Andy to
avoid it.

Speaker 1 (01:23:39):
Don't be wearing a bit, don't wear a Bears jersey with.

Speaker 10 (01:23:42):
The well, there's gonna be more Bears fans than Charger fans.

Speaker 1 (01:23:45):
Really.

Speaker 12 (01:23:46):
Oh yeah, My brothers flew out the other day. They
had a full contingent of folks on the flight. And
as we walked around the the beach cities Friday afternoon
and a little bit yesterday. Yeah, a lot of Bears swag.
Some of it looked like it was brand new, like
they bought it just for the trip. But that's okay.
It all counts just the same. So perhaps a little

(01:24:09):
bit of chaos on Sunday night football to come. But
I heard you guys talking a little bit earlier trade deadline.
You know, it's the we're starting to get like with baseball,
where we've got rumors galore, and then I fully anticipate
I'm gonna be grossly disappointed by time Tuesday actually comes. Now,
we've seen a couple of moves, but the one that

(01:24:29):
seems like the obvious, the inevitable, the Derrick Henry. I know,
there's the report that they told him they don't anticipate
trading him. That's the pat the guy on the back,
But that says nothing if the right offer comes along.
So expecting some wheeling and dealing over there. Is there
one guy on your fantasy squad, and I don't mean

(01:24:51):
fantasy football, but just for fantasy purposes, to get a
guy into a better situation that you've got Andy on
the list that you've had for the trade and all
the rumors.

Speaker 1 (01:25:02):
I think Austin Eckles gone, I think Bucky agree with
me there, and let's go back to Derek Henry for
a second. Bucky made a great point. He said that basically,
since he's been such a part of the franchise, they
would probably come to him and ask him if he
wants to go or not, and I think that he
would say yes. I mean, he's twenty nine years of age.
The tires have been kind of run up a little
bit on it, but the team is two and four,

(01:25:24):
you know, the currently tie for thirteenth place in the
overall standings in the AFC. He's got no place to
go but up. And I think he'd like to get
our championship ring or at least be in contention for something.

Speaker 12 (01:25:35):
So I think he'd love to go, Bucky to that end.
Can he be a difference maker for a Baltimore or
a Buffalo.

Speaker 3 (01:25:43):
Yeah, he can be a difference maker. I mean, he'd
certainly be an impact player for either one of those squads.
You think about where those squads want to go. Having
a playmaker of his caliber certainly helps him. Is as
a matter of like we all like to talk about it,
like braight to the thing, but how many guys are
really going to put a trigger that's the big deal.

Speaker 12 (01:26:00):
Well, because we had a lot of fun at his expense,
and then we do. I mean, whenever Jerry Jones pops
on one oh five to three the fan there in Dallas,
we have a pretty good chuckle Smith and I during
the week, and I enjoyed the the comments that Jerry
Jones had saying, well, I mean, we really like our squad,
so like if someone wants to come to us, but
we're not making any calls, like really, I mean, I

(01:26:23):
know you don't want to sound desperate, you know, and
maybe hurt whatever level of negotiating points that you have,
but to just come out and say, hey, you got
you got a place to call to me? You know,
I'm just gonna sit at my desk, sitting around like
I'm Billy Crystal and when Harry mit Sally's singing, call
me pick up the phone.

Speaker 10 (01:26:44):
He just I mean, come on, you can think.

Speaker 1 (01:26:45):
Of Jerry doing that. Just cal me.

Speaker 12 (01:26:49):
I'll be around. But when we look at the Cowboys,
I mean they could use some help. They could use
maybe that thunder lightning. Because I tried attaching Derrick Henry
to that US as well. He with Tony Pollard could
make a formidable backfield. But is that a team that
could use another wide receiver here, Bucky, I mean to

(01:27:10):
really make this offense.

Speaker 3 (01:27:15):
Yeah, they could use another one. Hello.

Speaker 1 (01:27:18):
Yeah, no, no, a bit of a delay there for
a section.

Speaker 3 (01:27:22):
Yeah, okay, yeah, now they could use another receiver. Like
when you think about the way today's passing games are,
you got to have two plus playmakers in the passing.

Speaker 2 (01:27:30):
Game to be able to do it.

Speaker 3 (01:27:31):
So when you get an established receiver, you have another
high end complimentary receiver. What it does is it prevents
the defense from just double team in your one and
making you go to the others. And so as you
look at the top teams, you can count them out.
They all have multiple pass catches on the perimeter that
are dangerous that can win one on once. And the
main thing is that complimentary receiver has to be able
to command some attention because if you can make opponents

(01:27:56):
play straight up, that's when the advantage is tilt towards
the offensive favor.

Speaker 2 (01:27:59):
So, yes, need another one. They gotta have it.

Speaker 1 (01:28:01):
You know. It's funny you mentioned that the leading receiver
for Dallas obviously CD Lamb because some of the thirty
four receptions. Do you have any idea who the second
leading receiver is is?

Speaker 10 (01:28:10):
Is it Ferguson?

Speaker 1 (01:28:12):
No, it's Pollard?

Speaker 12 (01:28:13):
Wow, that was the other that would have been the
other guests, the running back out of the back. It's
kind of like with the charges you mentioned Eckler before,
right with his one hundred and seven touches last year.
But yeah, look, you got a bunch of guys, I guess,
and you know Steve Smith might get in trouble for
what I'm about to say.

Speaker 10 (01:28:28):
There are a bunch of jags. They're they're just a guy,
I mean.

Speaker 12 (01:28:32):
And what it's doing though, Andy, and I think it's
an interesting point is it's got a lot of people
taking shots at CD Lamb's ability because he doesn't have
that compliment. And you have seen, even though he leads
them in receptions, you haven't seen the same level of
explosiveness that perhaps you would anticipate.

Speaker 1 (01:28:52):
With you on that. I mean, uh, you know, I
still think that they got to get the ball downfield,
and you know you need that balance at I mean,
teams that are successful either have a real star studded
quarterback or an offense that's balanced between running and passing,
and we and you just go down the list. You
see the teams that are, you know, on top of

(01:29:13):
the standings that have that, the ones that also rans don't.

Speaker 12 (01:29:16):
Yeah, and even some of those up tops still trying
to figure out balance and definition, including one of those we're.

Speaker 1 (01:29:22):
Going to talk about now because it might be a
snow day. Go ahead, Mark Chief said, bron go all right,
as we get ready for this one.

Speaker 12 (01:29:33):
Hey, the systems, you know, like it's early morning, man coffee,
because I saw him. He's hitting the button and it
was just not responding. Forty six your total seven points.
Kansas City favored here everybody on the trade block. A
big showcase game, as it were for the Denver Broncos,
or so it seems. Even last night we saw snowballs

(01:29:54):
getting into it with Colorado State drawing a penalty for
fans pelting people with snowballs on the Fielt guys. Kansas
City's offense still trying to find its way. We see
the mix and match at running back Pacheco the lead
back there, but also trying to figure out who is
the perfect compliment alongside Travis Kelcey. But let's face it,
watch the game tape. He's a guy running free and

(01:30:16):
clear in the secondary seemingly every week anyway. So you know,
whoever pops up as a number two, that'd be a
nice bonus. But seven point spread here on the road,
let's start with you, Bucky. Kansas City continues to roll.
Ken Russell Wilson and our guy Sean Payton co exists
for another week.

Speaker 3 (01:30:37):
They can coys this for another week, but it doesn't
mean they're going to coiz this after a win. The
Kissing Chiefs are just a better team. They're a better team.
They're doing it a little differently this year, and they've
done it in the past. They're playing relative strength of
their team, which is a defense, run the football a
little more and then just I mean a methodical ball
control passing game with Pat Mahomes able to add in

(01:30:57):
some spice every now, and with an improvat national thing.
This is too much for the opposition. I think they
won another one.

Speaker 1 (01:31:04):
Well. Obviously, the Chiefs are the better team. But if
you look back now, two weeks ago, the Chiefs played
them and they beat him nineteen to eight. In that game,
Patrick Mahomes the quarterback for the Chiefs. He threw the
ball forty times, forty times. If you were to look
at the box score, you would have thought maybe the
Chiefs lost that game. Why did he throw the bull
forty times? They couldn't establish a running game. They averaged
only three points six yards of carry against the Broncos.

(01:31:27):
That was way back in Week six. That's gotta get better.
And they' squed only nineteen points. It's unbelievable on Kansas City.
They have to improve on their third downs. They went
for four to thirteen. This is at home against the
Denver Broncos. They got to run it today, and they
got to run it big. I tell you what I
told the Bucket about this earlier. If you were to

(01:31:48):
ask me who was a better offense right now, I
say the Dolphins have a better offense than the Chiefs.

Speaker 12 (01:31:53):
Wow, well, we'll get The Dolphins are interesting, right the
number of injuries on the board. Tyreek Hill banged up
a little bit, was on the injury report. Offensive line
still feeling its way. They're still trying to really re
establish Jalen Waddle right, miss a little bit of time
with injury, but hasn't been that explosive playmaker in that
number two role.

Speaker 1 (01:32:14):
But if the running game bogs.

Speaker 12 (01:32:16):
Down a little bit, No, Devin h Chan, because I
got to make sure I get the pronunce you of
his name, pronunciation of his name right, because he went
from eight chan a chin right a chan to e
chan is. You know, that's the thing that worries me
a little bit. Right, If Moster doesn't get the engine moving,
that perhaps that game gets bogged down. I heard Bucky

(01:32:36):
made the prediction. I think we're the kindred spirit in
the New England finds a way here in the second
quarter of the NFL season, right the old get healthy,
get right September's a learning process. But yeah, Miami thus
far has been truly impressive, and they've done a good
job with Tua. And we've only had to see a
couple of those tai Chi roles maybe two or three

(01:32:59):
times this year.

Speaker 1 (01:33:01):
I had to get get to me a lot closer,
you know. I think Chiefs win. I think it would
be a lot closer than people would think would be.

Speaker 12 (01:33:06):
Here you go, we'll see if they can establish Javonte
Williams in the run game for Denver. How about we
get one more game in Bengals at forty nine. This
one's a spicy one now isn't in All week long.
We're waiting on Sam Sam Sam Darnold to get his shot.
Five point spread. San Francisco the favorite at home forty
three and a half the total. Bengals on last we

(01:33:28):
saw them starting to put things together a bit after
the slow start. Joe Burrow one of those rare opportunities
to say, hey, he's playing himself better and his legs
getting better while he's on the field. Not often that
we get to say that in the National Football League,
But Andy, let's start it with you.

Speaker 10 (01:33:47):
Bengals forty nine ers, forty nine.

Speaker 12 (01:33:49):
Ers carved up by Captain Kirk and company and struggling
a bit these last few weeks.

Speaker 1 (01:33:54):
There's no doubt about that. And of the health issues,
I mean, there's no doubt about that. Trump Williams not
gonna play. I mean, they got a couple of guys
that are on the bench right now. The Bengals are
turning it around. They got Jamar Chase and t Higgins.
They pros a nightmare matchup problem for San Francisco right now.
Their cornerbacks are gonna have to really watch out there underneath.
With Joe Burrow, it's all about Joe Burrow. You know,

(01:34:16):
if Joe Burrow could stand up and stay there and
be upright, and it has the mobility that we think
he has right now, and they're coming off a bye week,
which really would help, I think the Bengals could take him.
I'm picking the Bengals to win this game. The Bengals
maybe by a touchdown, not much more. You know, Deebo
Samuel's out, he's banged up, So I think with that, honestly,
I think the Bengals have a shot here and I

(01:34:36):
think they're gonna win this game. Now, I mentioned Sam Donald.

Speaker 12 (01:34:39):
Expectations were because brock Perty goes into concussion protocol mid week,
that we would see Sam Darnald, but Bucky he gets cleared.
A lot of folks raising their head going huh. But
beyond that, I mean, what have you seen the last
couple of weeks, you know, with brock Perty, Suddenly everybody
jumped off the bandwagon. Guy hits a forty one yard

(01:35:00):
field goal in front of three hundred family members and
we got a different talking point. But now it's looked
like everybody's starting to turn up the heat on him
as he gets ready for this shot against the Bengals.

Speaker 3 (01:35:13):
Yeah, no, is so crazy when you think about the
n being able to turn up to heat. This is interesting, man.
I love these matches like earlier year to kind of
figure it out. Mike, I'll ask you this, like, are
you a believer in the home field advantage this year
as opposed to other years? Because it seems like road
teams have been increasingly able to go on the road

(01:35:33):
and get wins.

Speaker 12 (01:35:34):
How do you feel trips Bucky business trips. I don't
think it has the same mystique.

Speaker 1 (01:35:39):
Particularly.

Speaker 12 (01:35:39):
I mean there's a couple of stadiums where I think
you might still have a little bit of juice. I
don't think the stadium in Santa Clara is one of them.

Speaker 2 (01:35:47):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:35:47):
I don't think so either. And so this is one
where I think they can go and knock this one out.
I'm looking for a high effort and I'm also trying
to wind about like the old quarterback is it magic
dust off of him? So I'm gonna go and let's
just say the road team gets a dog.

Speaker 1 (01:36:01):
Look at you.

Speaker 12 (01:36:02):
Yeah, the Trent Williams injury right there you go, and
he's fired up. Yes, No Williams, no debo talks that
the forty nine ers brass. They're looking to find another
pass rusher and another guy for the cornerback position. And
I would say, if honest with themselves, every GM in
the National Football League would echo those sentiments. But here's

(01:36:25):
the problem. They don't grow on trees. So very active
forty eight hours coming up there.

Speaker 1 (01:36:30):
But yeah, they took an offense. You know, I'm worried.
If I'm Joe Borrow, I worry about Nick Bosa. If
Nick bosea he could take over this game and that
that cause a havoc for the Bengals. But if they
keep Nick Bosa at Bay, the Bengals win, Well, it
goes back to a lot of hot routes.

Speaker 12 (01:36:46):
I would I would imagine at least the last couple
of weeks we've seen more Joe Mixon in the passing game.

Speaker 1 (01:36:52):
Get the ball out.

Speaker 12 (01:36:53):
Yeah, heep Burrow up right, So I would expect that
the screen game to be in effect for the back
again today. Gotta keep those edge rushers standing up, and
that's the easiest way to do it. He's Andy Ferman,
that's Bucky Brooks. I'm Mike Harmon here, Fox Sports Radios,

Speaker 10 (01:38:51):
Thank you for that public service announcement.

Speaker 12 (01:38:53):
We're live atthtirerac dot com Fox Sports Radio Studios. Gentlemen,
let's get into another game. We got a guy to
celebrate because his odds got cut in half last week.

Speaker 10 (01:39:02):
Ravens at Cardinals.

Speaker 12 (01:39:03):
Right ten point favorite are the Ravens in this one
forty four year total. Kyler Murray on the comeback round,
not playing this week, but did practice fully so there's
an interesting little tidbit from the Arizona side of things.

Speaker 1 (01:39:19):
For Baltimore.

Speaker 12 (01:39:20):
Yeah, you saw the odds for Lamar Jackson driven all
the way down to seven to one in some books
based on his performances and the offense as some would say.

Speaker 1 (01:39:31):
Starting to come together.

Speaker 12 (01:39:32):
I still need some more consistency at the running back position,
but they're starting to come to life. But is this
one of those trap games or is the try harder
Arizona narrative finally dead and gone?

Speaker 3 (01:39:45):
Bucky Brooks, The try hard narrative is gone. It's a
good team. Like theyre try and they're playing. They have
effort and energy and we're seeing in a league where
most games go down to the end, that is enough
to get it done. So we can laugh about like
kind of like their blue collar toughness and what they're doing.
But look, man, it works. It's worked for them. I'm

(01:40:06):
continue to rock with them.

Speaker 1 (01:40:09):
Did you see what they did against the Detroit Lions.
I mean, come on, eighty six is amazing. I mean
talk about a trap game. I think the Cardinals want
to hide in the trap after they saw that film
in that game, but I will tell you this much,
the Ravens can run the football against Arizona today. This
Arizona team has allowed one hundred yard rusher for the

(01:40:30):
last five weeks, and Lamar Jackson may do that. Lamar
Jackson at three hundred and fifty seven passing yards. He
had three touchdown passes and I went over. The Lions
a passer rating of one point fifty five point eight
and the Cardinals have a lot of passer rating of
at least one oh seven in the last four starters
they faced. So you know what, this is a mismatch
of goal. If they beat the Lions thirty eight to six,

(01:40:53):
I'm saying the Cardinals today will be losing. I say
the final score today forty one to ten.

Speaker 3 (01:40:58):
Wow, that guy no carryover.

Speaker 2 (01:41:01):
There's no carryover, no carry.

Speaker 3 (01:41:03):
Over the point from last week this week, like he
doesn't just start there. I don't know if they're bad.
I think they're fairly competitive.

Speaker 1 (01:41:13):
They try harder, They're like the old Avis.

Speaker 3 (01:41:16):
Okay, okay, fear me later. I'm gonna I'm gonna give
me the Cardinals. Give me the Cardinals on this one,
give me the Cords on this one. I mean, like
I would take them straight up, but to ten point
certainly makes me feel better about it, but give me
the Cardinals. And he's over there with his chest poked out,

(01:41:36):
talking about on the charges like, come on, man, chest
all poked out.

Speaker 10 (01:41:45):
Scared me.

Speaker 1 (01:41:46):
Now you may know something. You may know something about
this game that I don't, and you probably.

Speaker 3 (01:41:50):
Maybe I might have been texting with Kyler earlier this week.

Speaker 12 (01:41:54):
Well that's the question that flows out of this one, Bucky,
before we kick it over to our guy Isaac Lowan.
At this point in the season, do you do you
expect to see Kyler Murray activated and rolling.

Speaker 3 (01:42:05):
Out here yet not yet? At some point he's coming, Yeah,
at some point, at some point he'll get it back.
But today because Andy's doing all that stuff. You know,
you know, they love a little bulletin you motivate some board.

Speaker 10 (01:42:20):
Guys.

Speaker 1 (01:42:20):
Look what you did, and I feel bit I pulled there.
I'm sorry I did that really, I mean the cargos.

Speaker 3 (01:42:29):
Did you see Tyson Furry sleeping on the table and
doing all that other stuff and then found himself on
the mat he did?

Speaker 12 (01:42:38):
I will tell you right now that ain't gone and
danced in front of him after knock it down?

Speaker 1 (01:42:42):
What you got, Andy? I would say that if the
Cardinals should win this game. I'll do this show next
week naked.

Speaker 2 (01:42:49):
Oh, no one. No one wants to see that. No
one wants to see that.

Speaker 6 (01:42:53):
I can't wait.

Speaker 12 (01:42:54):
All of a sudden, someone his computer shame ship's having
a good laugh at that. He goes, all right, well
we'll get the link up and I'll do my best
to do pixelation.

Speaker 1 (01:43:08):
All of a sudden, she's coming into the picture. He
slept for the first two and a half hours. I
say something like that. He's going nuts.

Speaker 6 (01:43:15):
I could have hold back.

Speaker 1 (01:43:16):
I mean, you can't hold back. I can't go back
to a handball games.

Speaker 10 (01:43:21):
Cricket.

Speaker 12 (01:43:23):
Hey, you have the bottom barrel betting bit. You get
what you get, man, I never heard it all was
freaking sports. Well it's a new world order. I mean,
look for pickleball, you've actually got trading cards of the
top players.

Speaker 1 (01:43:35):
Thank god it didn't give me the eight. The sports today,
I can't stand those either.

Speaker 11 (01:43:39):
I can't win with this guy, Andy, because the sports
will be on there next week, right, I mean two
weeks ago, this guy goes change it up, let's change
it up, and I changed it up this week. He's like,
what are these sports that's bottom barrel betting? We're changing
it up here.

Speaker 1 (01:43:52):
We're changing it though.

Speaker 6 (01:43:53):
Sure I can't win with.

Speaker 2 (01:43:54):
You, Andy.

Speaker 1 (01:43:55):
Yeah, women's cricket.

Speaker 6 (01:43:58):
It's big real the inside. Bucky has him and he does.

Speaker 1 (01:44:02):
You's seeing him.

Speaker 12 (01:44:04):
Hey, well placed phone calls, keep those contacts alive. Always
be closing, That's what they say. Thanks Jay.

Speaker 10 (01:44:11):
He's Andy, that's Bucky.

Speaker 1 (01:44:12):
I'm Mike.

Speaker 12 (01:44:13):
And there's the fight over e sports and uh, well,
Andy threatening? Is it threatening or promising?

Speaker 1 (01:44:20):
No promise, I don't thrip. I would never well no, just.

Speaker 10 (01:44:23):
In terms of doing the show.

Speaker 1 (01:44:24):
Nay. They give his scholars free sports in college. Now,
I know I missed the boat. I missed the boat.

Speaker 10 (01:44:28):
You can always go back to it.

Speaker 1 (01:44:29):
And they're not closing. Andy. Can you imagine the sport
that you don't have to sweat? I love it?

Speaker 10 (01:44:33):
Yeah, but you're not out of eligibility.

Speaker 1 (01:44:35):
You could go back. I might do it. You got time.
You got a little bit of time carving ol. You know,
no West Wing reruns for you for one week or
two video games? You's right?

Speaker 10 (01:44:47):
Wouldn't that be great?

Speaker 1 (01:44:48):
Bucky?

Speaker 10 (01:44:48):
All of a sudden there's Andy walking in with a hoodie.

Speaker 1 (01:44:51):
Uh and you give me some ideas because right down
the block is Thomas Moore University. They got the esports
over there. Go to the coach this week.

Speaker 12 (01:45:01):
So what I always tell folks right when it comes
to this college eligibility stuff, I've been preaching it forever.

Speaker 1 (01:45:06):
You guys have known me forever. This is my mantra.

Speaker 12 (01:45:10):
They keep opening up, Like you say, Andy, you can
do the show next week naked again.

Speaker 10 (01:45:16):
We put that image back out there.

Speaker 12 (01:45:17):
But you can do that going to college anymore, the
way things are set up, and get your degree, never
leave your house, never have to put on a stitch
of clothing. That's the way it works anymore. So if
the money is there to go exactly.

Speaker 1 (01:45:29):
I may not be able to do to stood next week,
maybe doing some homework. See there you go.

Speaker 12 (01:45:33):
We've now inspired not only Andy, but hopefully America. And
you know who else he's got an inspiring voice is
our guy Isaac Lohan cron because he's got everything that's
trending this morning, some injury news and notes as.

Speaker 10 (01:45:45):
He gets ready for Chargers Bears.

Speaker 1 (01:45:48):
Later on tonight.

Speaker 13 (01:45:48):
What's up, Ilo, Well, you've inspired me because I've just
done a deep dive into the Thomas Moore Saints' esports
program under a head coach Derek mcbron. What I found
most interesting was that on the Thomas Moore Saints est
sports roster, among other things, is listed the esports players' heights.

Speaker 14 (01:46:12):
Oh wow, okay, why I do think that? That's what
I sitting over there in his big chair. I mean,
you gotta know what this fight? That was sized desk.
They might need what sized console.

Speaker 7 (01:46:23):
So we have a.

Speaker 13 (01:46:25):
Six to three sophomore out of Molar High School in Loveland, Ohio. Molar,
I believe actually has a really good football program, but
it was Jerry Fous school.

Speaker 3 (01:46:32):
Did that?

Speaker 7 (01:46:33):
There?

Speaker 1 (01:46:33):
You go that I knew why it rang a bell?

Speaker 13 (01:46:36):
Anyway, we start with Game two of the World Series
on Saturday night, where the Arizona Diamondbacks one of Texas
nine to one to even the World Series at one
with a piece is Arizona pitcher Merril Kelly went seven innings.
He allowed one run on three hits with nine strikeouts.

Speaker 1 (01:46:50):
No walks.

Speaker 13 (01:46:51):
College football Saturday night, the Arizona Wildcats knocked off eleventh
ranked Oregon State twenty seven to twenty four. Georgia Tech
won over sevent thrank North Carolina forty six to forty two.
As they rallied from ten down with ten forty one
to play Number three Ohio State a twenty four to
ten win at Wisconsin. Travion Henderson ran for one sixty

(01:47:11):
two Marvin Harrison Junior six catches for one hundred and
twenty three yards. Fifth ranked Washington held off Stanford forty
two to thirty three for the huskies fifteenth consecutive win.
Michael pennockx junior with four touchdown passes. Number twenty three
UCLA had seven sacks at a twenty eight to sixteen
triumph over Colorado number nineteen air Force one in Colorado

(01:47:33):
State thirty to thirteen in a game that featured the
most unusual penalty of Saturday's college football action across the nation.

Speaker 1 (01:47:42):
Listen to this.

Speaker 15 (01:47:44):
So the play, let's worked on my conduct on the
Colmraidlo State bench, where you please will be Audia's pre
refrained for throwing snowballs will continue to cost Colorado State.

Speaker 13 (01:48:00):
Colorado State actually got penalized because its fans were throwing
snowballs at the air Force bench in the snow.

Speaker 12 (01:48:09):
Back to you guys, there you go, never a dull moment,
some rain, some wind, and potentially some more winter weather.
They're in Denver as we get ready for Week eight
in the National Football League season. Thank you so much,
Ilo at Isaac Lohencron where you find him on Twitter. Hey,

partner hit someone with the chair. They got the pin
and then they exited the arena as fast as they can.

Speaker 10 (01:48:58):
The Cleveland Browns.

Speaker 1 (01:48:59):
Let's go Browns at Seahawks.

Speaker 10 (01:49:01):
The Browns in Seattle getting after it.

Speaker 12 (01:49:04):
The Seahawks a four point home favorite, A nice robust
thirty seven is your.

Speaker 1 (01:49:11):
Over under for this one.

Speaker 12 (01:49:12):
This is the one game that really drags down the
averages this week in terms of over underplay. Seattle had
had things rolling with their offense, then they had their
bye week and then games against Cincinnati and Arizona. A
lost to the Bengals seventeen thirteen, a grinded out win
with one hundred and five yards on the ground from

(01:49:32):
Kenneth Walker the third against Arizona last week, Jason Peters
looks like he's gonna join the Fray and he can
Seattle solve the Cleveland defense.

Speaker 1 (01:49:43):
No, even though my good friend Jonas Knox, who calls
Deshaun Watson massage Watson. But basically, I don't think it's
gonna happen because I think that right now if you
look at the Seals, and I don't know if there's
any correlation with this, but I'm looking at the schedule.
They had a good win at Detroit early on in
week two, is an overtime win thirty seven to thirty one.
Other than that, who have they beaten? Carolina? The Giants? Okay,

(01:50:05):
they lost at Cincinnati, all right, and they should have
and they gave that game away, and they beat Arizona.
They haven't beaten anybody really, And the game within the
game today I think is going to be can left
tackle Charles Cross, you know, contain Miles Garrett? Nobody else
can Can he do it? That's the game right there.
I think the Browns win this game.

Speaker 3 (01:50:28):
Yeah, this is tough when I look at the Browns,
even without Deshaun Watson, PJ.

Speaker 2 (01:50:33):
Walkee, if they play a certain style, they can win
on the right end.

Speaker 3 (01:50:36):
This is a tough one just because of the opponent,
but I think their running game should buy them a
little time. And I just think Jim Sports and this
defense finds a way to create three turnovers, they get
those three turnovers. That's the difference in the game. Give
me a Brown is I think the Brown is one
of more talented.

Speaker 1 (01:50:49):
Yes, yes, despite yes bucket coming over to society, I
love it. There you go. You guys are meeting in
the middle on this one.

Speaker 12 (01:50:58):
PJ. Walker been effective. They just need to figure out
how to get more out of Amari Cooper. Right, we
talk about guys who need some help or something in
the offense to get some playmakers the ball. And I'm
not just talking that as a disgruntled fantasy owner, although
that's going to be some percentage of it. Guys, just
the reality is, you know, there's a top weapon that

(01:51:19):
has gone virtually unused.

Speaker 10 (01:51:22):
Jerome Ford, who's been a star.

Speaker 12 (01:51:23):
He's going to be a game time decision as we
get things rolling as well, So keep an eye on that.
Both he and Kareem Hunt have been on the injury report,
so perhaps a little to consider as we get closer
to kick off and get some more verification of their
respective statuses for this one. He's Andy Furman over there,

(01:51:45):
Bucky Brooks. I'm by Carmen here, Fox Sports Radios, Fox
Football Sunday. We still have two more games to go,
and the guys will tell me how poorly my team
will play on Sunday Night Football, perhaps mocking me and
setting my tone as I try to invade stadium. We'll
talk all about that next as we roll on here
on Fox Football Sunday. Welcome back in It's Fox Football Sunday,

In the Twitter verse.

Speaker 12 (01:52:31):
Andy, he's got his column each week and he's getting
ready to go get an esports degree. We're going to
chronicle all that. You know, we're really gonna register you.
I don't have any of your pertinent information, but we
can make that up and make that happen for you.

Speaker 1 (01:52:48):
Andy, Please do that'd be great and you can watch
me walk down the aislgety my diploma? What should I
major in? Fortnite?

Speaker 10 (01:52:57):
Call it duty? Donkey Kong?

Speaker 1 (01:53:02):
I don't know.

Speaker 10 (01:53:03):
I was trying to just name some random videos.

Speaker 1 (01:53:05):
I guess the earliest I would be the spring semester, right, Oh,
I don't know.

Speaker 12 (01:53:08):
You might be able to start in January, depending on
the school you want to go to. Again, we can
do it all virtually. Yes, you're right, and we can
chronicle it all. See there's an adventure.

Speaker 1 (01:53:17):
Well, you could register and put my name there. They
would have a difference, were they.

Speaker 11 (01:53:21):
No.

Speaker 12 (01:53:21):
No, look, I may go back and get a doctorate
at some point, just so people have to call me doctor.

Speaker 10 (01:53:26):
Damn it. I would make them call me doctor two.

Speaker 1 (01:53:29):
Yeah, that's right.

Speaker 12 (01:53:30):
And Bucky Brooks, you read them NFL dot com seem
swollen dome then huh yeah, No, Look I got the NBA.
You see what it's doing for me?

Speaker 1 (01:53:37):
Andy?

Speaker 12 (01:53:38):
Here we are live the Fox Sports Radio studios from
the tire rack dot Com, Fox Sports Radio Studios. Two
more games for us to chop up the Monday night
football game. The return of a fair haired quarterback Raiders
and Lions. That is right, Jimmy Garoppolo returning to the scene,
trying to make life right for Devontae Adams, who's got

(01:53:59):
a familiar foe on the other side in the Detroit Lions.
Eight point favorites are the home Lions forty six and
a half. You're total talked about it a little bit
earlier about carry over week to week in the National
Football League. It's like the old Forest Gump line, you
never know what you're gonna get. But Monday Night Football,
we'll actually see the Lions, and I think people will

(01:54:21):
have to do a double take.

Speaker 1 (01:54:22):
Andy, I just know that about that. I mean, look,
you mentioned Jimmy Garoppolo back for the Raiders, and I
think that's great. Got Devontay Adams will opening up the
running game for Josh Jacobs. But here's the deal. I mean,
last week the Lions basically got pounded. It was thirty
eight to six, and they kinda just get that out
of their minds could get Week seven away a race

(01:54:43):
that and they got to get Jared Goffe to get
those receivers out there, and Saint Brown, who had nineteen
targets last week, get him back in the actions. But
I asked this to Bucket because he played the game.
How difficult is it for a coach to tell these
guys to forget about last week's brutal loss thirty eight
six at Baltimore and say, look, forget about that. It's
one of those aberrations. Have we got to start all

(01:55:05):
over again now with the Raiders? It's not that easy.
I don't think. Is there a confidence fact that you
may have lost in losing that game like that?

Speaker 3 (01:55:15):
Yeah, I mean there's always a confidence factor that that appears.
When you lose, you lose some of the invincibility. So yeah,
like your confidence has been kind of shaken and rattled.
And the longer this game stays tight, the more that
begins to creep in. But it's a human factor because
of the human human beings, So human nature comes into it.
Whenever you lose, you have harbor a little self doubt.

Speaker 1 (01:55:36):
Jared the line they're going to be at home, that's great,
but they're the better team and their deeper teams.

Speaker 10 (01:55:41):
That I got to win eight points. It's a lot
of points at home.

Speaker 12 (01:55:45):
But Jared Goff, as you just mentioned, Andy at home,
is a much different quarterback. I expect that one week, Aberration.
See there's your word of today. You guys have to
go use that and all of you out there listening
wherever you are in radio land, aberration shouldn't get that
into your vocabulary today.

Speaker 1 (01:56:03):
To s sat with that is right.

Speaker 12 (01:56:06):
See, that'll suit you well in your new course of
study to get that next level of degree. Andy Furman,
We're in the final stretch to get tickets to horse
racing's biggest moment of the year. The world's best are
headed to Santa Anita for the Breeders' Cup World Championships
November third and fourth. The countdown begins now. You can
get your tickets today at breeders Cup dot com. If

(01:56:27):
you come out there Friday, you'll see a lot of
us running around from Fox Sports Radio. I may actually
have a bunch of picks for folks too, and I'll
add some value and I'll always always have something shiny
on so I stand out in a crowded room.

Speaker 10 (01:56:43):
All right, one more game to go.

Speaker 12 (01:56:44):
I saved it for a last because you know, I'm
trying to hide myself up getting excited.

Speaker 10 (01:56:50):
Should I be Bears at Chargers?

Speaker 1 (01:56:52):
All right?

Speaker 12 (01:56:53):
The Chicago Bears at the char Chargers are given eight
and a half points.

Speaker 10 (01:56:58):
That's the first thing that stands out here for six
and a half.

Speaker 12 (01:57:01):
Now, last week I watched me some Tyson bage it
and I watched a guy get rid of the ball, quickly,
avoid negative plays.

Speaker 10 (01:57:09):
Just keep the line moving right.

Speaker 12 (01:57:11):
Some of what he did at Division two was on
display as they took down the Raiders, even at Cole
Comet during the week going. Yeah, that Raiders team was
not the same team we saw on tape. So take
and make of that what you will based on the
last game we were just talking about. But they come
away from that bludgeting, right, because that's what they did.
When you talk about Deontay Foreman and the run game,

(01:57:33):
Darrington Evans a little bit and getting it done.

Speaker 10 (01:57:36):
The average depth of target was two point five yards.

Speaker 12 (01:57:42):
I don't know how sustainable that is, but that's a
pretty good strategy, I think, Bucky.

Speaker 10 (01:57:45):
When you got Nick Bosa and Khalil Mack coming.

Speaker 3 (01:57:47):
After you, Yeah, what they're telling you is a lot
of nail screens, a lot of things designed to get
the ball out of your hands real quick. Don't allow
that pass rush to be a factor. And if you
have players on a perima that can break tackles, it
becomes dangerous. Uh, you gotta have more things, but you
need to push you down the field.

Speaker 2 (01:58:03):
You don't want everyone just to squad on your rouse.

Speaker 1 (01:58:07):
I'm gonna say, I'm gonna make you feel pretty good,
mister Harmon. The Bears defense has improved tremendously over the
last two weeks, allowing just twelve point five points a game,
and they've been pretty good against the run and a
lot better against the pass. Okay, they gotta get after
Justin Herbert. They got that rookie going for the Bears today.
So you know, if you look at the quarterback battle,

(01:58:28):
certainly the Chargers have it, but you know what the
Charges have is gonna be good for the Bears. They
got Brandon Staley, they got Brandon stelleyt.

Speaker 10 (01:58:35):
Versus fuse the matchup for the heavyweights.

Speaker 1 (01:58:38):
Bucky, I'll take Stanley. Staley's gonna get it. Look, you
got Joey Boza, Khalil Matc Derwin, James Michael Davis, Sebastian
Joseph Day and Austin Johnson. These are great defenders on
the Chargers team. That team ranks thirty first in defense.
What does that tell you about Brandon Staley? All right,
that's all you need to know.

Speaker 3 (01:58:56):
You really did down there, Yeah you did, Lady hammer down.
So Staley, who has struggled getting his defense, he struggled
with the analytic part of trying to figure out what
his team is. Look, he's on the ropes. Man, the
Chargers had this is a must win, and I hate
to evoke the must win so early, but man, to
go to and five, it's a rap, like we playoff.

Speaker 2 (01:59:14):
Folks or whatever.

Speaker 3 (01:59:15):
I don't think this team responds to the pressure. Man.
I think the Charges swallow apart and it ends up
a long spiral. Yeah, because they got the quarterback. They
got a quarterback of the future, Shepherd called D two.
That's what they needed.

Speaker 1 (01:59:28):
And Staley's got one foot in the graves. Wow, the
other one Halloween weekend. So that's appropriate.

Speaker 10 (01:59:35):
Well done it. You really do paint a picture there.

Speaker 1 (01:59:39):
I'm going to school. I'm a student now.

Speaker 3 (01:59:41):
No, I like that.

Speaker 10 (01:59:42):
No, he's got his cap on it. Everywing I love that. Yeah,
the Bears.

Speaker 12 (01:59:46):
Uh, it's intriguing to me to see what that crowd
will look like tonight, to be able to walk in there.
Like most weeks, I'm just sitting in front of a
television with like aid mini screens and trying.

Speaker 10 (01:59:57):
To dissect it. This week, I'll actually be on site.

Speaker 1 (02:00:00):
Can you do me a fair how to watch the
game on TV? Could you bring a little sign say
we love Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 10 (02:00:06):
Yeah, I'll see if.

Speaker 12 (02:00:06):
I can pull that off. I'll be I'm gonna be
around the around midfield, so keep an eye out for me.
My big head will shine through.

Speaker 1 (02:00:13):
He's Andy, I'm Bucky. He's Bucky.

Speaker 3 (02:00:15):
I'm Mike.

Speaker 10 (02:00:16):
I don't even know what I'm saying anymore.

Speaker 12 (02:00:17):
Greetings and welcome in another hour Fox Football Sunday. Here
Fox Sports Radio Live from the ty rack dot com studios.
Tyrack dot com will help you get there an unmatched selection,
fast free shipping, free road hazard protection, and over ten
thousand recommended installers. Tyrack dot com. The way tire buying
should be Week eight of your National Football League one

(02:00:39):
game in the books full slate today. Nobody on buy,
which is good and bad because every once in a while,
you got those injured players like could you be off
a week for me? You can take it right now
in the middle of the week because I need you
for the stretcher on well. Lots to talk about from
a fantasy angle, and certainly quarterback situations that can't do
it alone. It's Mike Rmin alongside my guy, Bucky Brooks,

(02:01:02):
five years in the league, the Jacksonville Jaguars, where he
hangs one of his many many hats here with us.
Blessed to be with him for another Sunday morning. Bucky,
a full slate and you're Jaguars with a big one
today against the Steelers.

Speaker 2 (02:01:19):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (02:01:19):
Now that's a big one. It's a big one because
whenever you play against the Stellers, you're not only playing.

Speaker 2 (02:01:23):
Against who they are now, but you're playing against the brand.

Speaker 11 (02:01:25):
Right.

Speaker 3 (02:01:25):
They always talk about the standard as a standard, and
the one thing that we know is whenever you play
the Stealers, they always play a tough, physical brand of
football that is going to try you. And so for
the Jaguars, this is almost a litmus test to see
how good they are, how good they can be. This
is a team that is five and two if they
go to six and two before by in a matchup

(02:01:46):
with the San Francisco forty nine Ers.

Speaker 2 (02:01:48):
Now you begin to have the conversation, is.

Speaker 3 (02:01:51):
This team one of the handful of contenders that can
buy for a number one seed and make a legitimate
run at the Super Bowl. We'll have more answers coming
out of the game against Pittsburgh.

Speaker 12 (02:02:01):
To they Steelers eighteen five and three is home dogs
under Mike Tomlin. And right now, look the White Sox
in nineteen eighty three had the slogan winning ugly, get
him on, get him over, get him in. However, whatever,
as long as you put the W up doesn't matter.
That seems to be where we're at with the Pittsburgh

(02:02:21):
Steelers at this point, because even at four and two,
a lot of handwringing and calls for the job of
Matt Canada. I mean they do it at other events
in the Pittsburgh area no matter the sport. If there's
a lull in the action, they start chanting about firing Canada.
Is this a team that can be just they just

(02:02:43):
good enough to be a gnat? Or can Tomlin work
some magic with this squad?

Speaker 15 (02:02:47):
I e.

Speaker 12 (02:02:48):
Coax enough out of Kenny Pickett in the pass game
to be a threat in the AFC.

Speaker 3 (02:02:55):
Yeah, I mean, this is a team that knows how
to get it done. And here's what you have to do.
Early in the season, you're just trying to survive and
stack wins, right, You're trying to just get to the
point where, look, you at the halfway point. You want
to be over five hundred. If you get to the
halfway point at four and four, five and three, six
and two, you're right where you need to be. Where
they're four and two and they don't have anything of

(02:03:16):
significance on offense that you can hang that you can say,
this is what they hang their hat on. They're just
kind of hode fodging it and they found a way
to win games. Well, what normally happens is when you
get to the midway point, you get to the bye week,
you get to all of that. You then have the
conversation internally, this is who we are, this is how
we have to play, and you build out a blueprint
for how to win games with the team that you

(02:03:38):
currently have, not what you thought you were going.

Speaker 2 (02:03:40):
To be able to do.

Speaker 3 (02:03:41):
You don't theorize those things, but now this is what
we have and this is how we have to play.
And so the Stillers have a chance. If they win,
it puts them in a great position to be five
and two and to kind of find a way to
continue to eke out some of these wins and a
very competitive division. So, yes, they do have a chance,
because they all always have a chance. We've seen it.
Mike Tomlin finds a way to kind of pull the

(02:04:03):
rabbit out the hat with this team because they're not
the most talented team, but they just find a way
to win these games.

Speaker 12 (02:04:08):
At the end, now, passing game for the Steelers, they've
got just one hundred and ninety two yards per game.
That's good for twenty fifth in the National Football League. Yeah,
you've got George Pickens trying to do the bulletin board
material talking about Jacksonville having a hope defense. I think
that's how everybody describes the Steelers offense to this point.

(02:04:29):
But what do you make of that hope defense for
the Jaguars?

Speaker 3 (02:04:33):
Well, I mean, if he's saying that the Jaguars are
hanging their hopes on turnovers and takeaways, Yeah, isn't that
every tea they do? I mean, that's what they do.
They have sixteen takeaways this year. I think they were
number one in the National Football League. When it comes
to taking the ball away, it's a big part of
who they are and what they do. They want to
play a little zone, keep it in front, rally and

(02:04:54):
knock your round and when people get hit, they tend
to lose the ball. He's not necessarily wrong about hope defense.
You probably shouldn't have put it out there because lasting
guys need is a little extra fuel, a little extra
venom to kind of bring it. But this is gonna
be a physical affair anyway, doesn't matter what he says,
it's gonna it's gonna be one that It should be

(02:05:14):
a lot of fun to watch now.

Speaker 12 (02:05:15):
It's one of the great games on this schedule, no
question about it. Something we talked about at the end
of last hour, talking about me heading over to the
fun and exciting world of the Bears Chargers game tonight.
One last data point, I was waiting for a page
to load. You know, the old filibuster and tap dance
right now. Jacksonville and Pittsburgh tied with a couple of

(02:05:37):
other teams in terms of turnover differential at plus six
for the year, so they're right there in the same boat,
but the Bears.

Speaker 10 (02:05:46):
Have the Chargers. Later on, Tyson Bagent.

Speaker 12 (02:05:48):
We watched the offense against the Raiders, a lot of
smash mouth, a lot of yards after contact and the
quick release of Tyson Bagent in Chicago. You know, they're
writing parody songs and celebrating everything about him and already
going well.

Speaker 10 (02:06:05):
Justin fields. It was good to know you, and part
of me just raised my hand.

Speaker 12 (02:06:10):
Go all right after one game against the Raiders, mind you,
you know, celebrating a guy. Now, certainly the offense moved
at a better pace and getting the ball out quickly.
It's a lot a lot easier to protect your offensive
linemen who have been struggling in their protections. Bucky, if
you get the ball out that fast, yeah.

Speaker 3 (02:06:31):
I mean you want to get the ball out fast
so you can avoid some of those negative plays. But
you can't live on that. You can't just win with
a bunch of dink and dunks. At some point, you
got to be able to challenge people down the field
and to score points in this league, you got to
have explosive plays. So how have you derived those explosive plays,
whether they're catch and run plays, whether they're bombs that
are thrown over the top, you have to find a
way to create explosives, because that's what I mean. It's

(02:06:55):
a direct correlation between explosive plays and points.

Speaker 2 (02:06:58):
That's something that you have to monitor.

Speaker 3 (02:07:00):
Who can produce the like, who can produce the most
big plays, and which team can win the turnover margin.

Speaker 2 (02:07:07):
Those teams are typically the ones they win.

Speaker 12 (02:07:09):
Yeah, I as we look at the field's proposition, right,
because certainly we've seen a lot of the isolated plays,
and then you watch the clock that they in said
all right, here, he's got four seconds to throw, four
and a half seconds to throw. Deciding to push things
downfield is part of it, just the all right, fitting

(02:07:29):
into the system that gets he wants to run versus
maybe just the simplification of getting the ball out right.
Is there something in between that we see with what
Beigent has been what they've done with fields to where
that's probably the perfect marriage and trying to bring fields
more there, or are we already looking at a situation

(02:07:51):
where perhaps they're already off him, not because of Beagent necessarily,
but because of where they are as a coaching staff
and philosophically, what they're trying to pull across.

Speaker 2 (02:08:02):
Here's what I'll tell you. Beijing is a D two legend.

Speaker 3 (02:08:06):
He's a D two legend because man having to talk
about him this week, I think he had thirty two
games where he had three hundred yard passing games. He
had time, Yeah, he had ten four hundred yard passing games.
So we're talking about a guy who's very experienced throwing
the ball all over the yard. And even though we
can talk about it or dismiss it being a lesser

(02:08:28):
level of competition, those reps matter. So he enters the
league with a ton of reps throwing the ball, and
what you see from a timing standpoint, the timing of
the offense flows and operates differently with Beijing because Beijing
is catch rock throw. The ball is out and what
that does is it protects the offensive line. It gets

(02:08:49):
the ball into the hands of the playmakers quickly. When
they get their hands on the ball, they become a
little more enthusiastic about doing some of the other tasks
that you assign them, so the offense flow. He's also
athletic enough to make some things happen. Not saying that
he is a long term answer, but I think it
may have confirmed some of the things that coaches felt,

(02:09:11):
maybe that players felt. Man, if the ball comes out
on time, this offense works is working with him because
he gets the ball out and he has a great
understanding of where to go with the ball. And a
lot of that is due to the experience that they had.

Speaker 10 (02:09:23):
In college curiosity.

Speaker 12 (02:09:25):
For the second week, obviously we saw a little of him,
and with getting the game against Minnesota last week, they
did a lot to neutralize Max Crosby and company. Cole Comet, Yes,
for your fantasy squad. Normally you love it when young
quarterbacks come in. I don't know that you loved it
last week because you got no points for Comet being
a blocker. And with Mac and Bosha running around Bucky,

(02:09:48):
I would dare say that Cole Comet is going to
earn his stripes blocking once again.

Speaker 3 (02:09:54):
Oh you should. But here's what I like about this, right,
So we talked about Brandon steadying in the last hour
and the defense those things. Brandon Staley is the boxer
who gets hit by everybody's right hand, right. He's never
He's never gonna take away the things and be like,
you know what, You're not gonna do. You're not gonna
make you mean the left hand, and so what the
Bears are beginning to do, Hey, Max Crosby is their

(02:10:14):
best pass rusher. We're not going to let you dominate
the game. And so if they take that approach, and
most teams take that approach, make somebody else beat you,
because you can live as some You can live.

Speaker 2 (02:10:24):
With it if someone else does it.

Speaker 3 (02:10:25):
Sure, And so I would expect the Bears because they
had success and because they played better in recent weeks,
I would expect to see them. Yeah, we're not going
to let Bosa get loose. We're not gonna let your
best players get loose. We're gonna make someone else beat us.
And if you can beat us that way, great, but
we're not gonna go home and say, you know what,
we knew that Joey Bosa could take over the game,
and we let them take over the game.

Speaker 2 (02:10:47):
You have to neutralize those guys.

Speaker 12 (02:10:49):

men guys coming back, and we'll throw fields back in
the mix as well. When's the decision point on whether
you bring a guy back versus saying, hey, there's a

(02:11:09):
lot of football in our lives, yet the urgency for coaches,
GMS and the like.

Speaker 1 (02:11:15):
We'll get into that next here on Fox Sports Radio.

Buckie Week eight of our National Football League season, trying

(02:11:42):
to shake out the best from the well, the rest
and right now the way the NFL wants it.

Speaker 10 (02:11:49):
Well, it's what they get. They got a nice muddled
middle of a lot.

Speaker 12 (02:11:52):
Of teams sitting there at you know, three and four,
four and three, not a lot of separation, But with
the trade deadline on Tuesday, forcing some teams to really
take a long, hard look of well are we potentially
competitive or are we done? Two teams in particular, the
Tennessee Titans and the Washington Commanders that you know from

(02:12:16):
all evaluation, and then obviously the Denver Broncos We've been
talking about them for weeks. There's just a lot of
the evaluation of what you can get, how you can
go into the marketplace, which guys have viability, who's on
the market, who's not.

Speaker 1 (02:12:29):
In Denver?

Speaker 12 (02:12:30):
Two weeks ago, it was hey, it's everybody but Patrick'stand
now it's like, well, if the price is right with Washington,
they get no pressure and their defense has been suspect
all year. Yet all I keep hearing about is the
guys up front, Sweat and Young could be on the block?

Speaker 1 (02:12:47):
Is it system?

Speaker 12 (02:12:48):
Those players underperforming? A little bit of both just new scenarios.
What are we talking about here, Bucky?

Speaker 3 (02:12:55):
So the Washington thing is is really remarkable because they
have all of those first round is on the on
the d line, but yet they're unable to generate consistent pressure.
Chase Young and Monte Sweater played better this year. I
think they both are sitting around right around five secs.

Speaker 10 (02:13:08):
Well. The fact that they're actually both on the field
is a nice bonus.

Speaker 2 (02:13:14):
N there, It is a nice bonus.

Speaker 3 (02:13:16):
But this has been an unachieving defense, a defense that
hasn't dominated that to the level of expectation based on
the talent that they have. If you're Ron Rivera, if
you're these other guys like and here's the other thing,
Ron Vera's on the hot seat.

Speaker 2 (02:13:29):
Vera is in lame duck status.

Speaker 3 (02:13:31):
Does he have the ability to move and acquire talent
in pieces? Have they given him that that that freedom
to do that? Maybe knowing yeah, he's not here for long.
It's a tough situation. They're kind of in the quagmire.
If the commanders are allowed to trade, if they make
moves to me, it kind of sends up a signal
that maybe Ron Rivera is going to be there for

(02:13:53):
a minute. If if not, if they just stampad and
they don't do anything, I think he's a goner. I
think they're just saying, yea, yeah, we'll hold his assets.
We'll let whoever we want to designate as the new
footballs are, We'll let him deal with the roster tweaks
and reshuffling.

Speaker 2 (02:14:08):
But we're not going to allow you to have that
kind of power.

Speaker 12 (02:14:10):
And to think perhaps maybe the hall you would get
for some of these players would be better in a
full off season where everybody's at the table instead of
just a couple of teams. If indeed you can find
suitors for Sweat or Younger or maybe well.

Speaker 3 (02:14:25):
No you can, yeah, you can find you can find
suit as the thing is, you have to pay. You
have to pay Chase young after just because remember they
declined to fifth your option, So you're renting a player
for eight games to then have to maybe pay that
player all over again. So it gives your head start
on the market, but it's no guarantee that he's going
to be there, So how much how much are you

(02:14:46):
willing to give up for that? Like, all of those
things kind of come into play when when you're looking
at trade possibilities and what could happen down the road.

Speaker 12 (02:14:55):
Yeah, I do like the silly season, right because we
start going in all these theories looking at expiring contracts
and trying to find partners. The other part of where
we're at in the season, beyond the evaluation of trade partners, Bucky,
is if you've had an injured player, you know, how
quickly are you trying to get them back up?

Speaker 11 (02:15:14):
Right?

Speaker 10 (02:15:14):
Is you just rest and get yourself fully right?

Speaker 1 (02:15:17):
Right? With the giants?

Speaker 12 (02:15:19):
Heard you and Andy going at it a little bit
Giants Jets later on today, Tarad Taylor, you know, the
offense has been more efficient. I think it's a little
bit like the bagent side of things of you know,
it just slows down a little bit, a little bit
of efficiency and you're keeping the weak part of your offense,
i e. Your offensive line from getting exposed right and

(02:15:40):
not having to hold the ball too long waiting for
the perfect play instead of just making a play. And
Daniel Jones, they're saying weakness on his left side. The
neck was an issue with Justin Fields, the thumb, even
though he didn't have surgery. You're looking there, but there's
the anxiousness of him probably to get back on the
field to say, hey it so, I'm all fine, I'm

(02:16:02):
all good. But trying to find that balance of what's
rushing a guy back in a situation that is well,
I mean it's a struggle anyway, right both those teams
at this point. I don't know how much expectation you
can put. Certainly in Chicago you'd like to see some positivity.
You know, it's certainly eber Flus and those guys fighting

(02:16:23):
for their jobs and the Giants we had expected more.
They're curious, but keeping Barkley healthy and trying to rattle
off some wins with without an a number one receiver
beyond Darren Waller is a difficult proposition. But you know
you've been around these squads. I mean trying to find
that balance. I mean that's a delicate thing as well.

(02:16:44):
You know, have long, short and long term aspirations.

Speaker 3 (02:16:48):
Yeah, it's a it's an interesting thing. But the unique situations, right, So,
the Bear situation is different because Justin Fields, they haven't
committed big money to If the coaches quote unquote sour.

Speaker 2 (02:17:00):
On him, We're not saying that they have.

Speaker 3 (02:17:02):
But if they're looking around and like, hey, Beajing gives
us a chance to win, maybe he gives us the
best chance to win. Save Beajen runs off reels off
two or three more wins in a row, well then
it's like, eh, hold on, Justin, we got this thing
going or whatever the difference is.

Speaker 2 (02:17:15):
In Daniel Jones, they made a forty million dollar commitment.

Speaker 3 (02:17:18):
Sure, so ownership like Dave Ball can say, hey, the
offense rolls runs smoother with ty right there.

Speaker 2 (02:17:23):
Yeah, that's great.

Speaker 3 (02:17:24):
Tyrod is the two Daniel Jones is the one We
paid him to be the quarterback, so he's going to
be there. So you saw that statement where Dave Ball
came out and said, hey, when he's ready, he's going
to be the starting quarterback, because they've already had those
conversations up top and up Top has told you Daniel
Jones is the franchise quarterback no matter what. So he's
gonna be out there each and every week.

Speaker 2 (02:17:44):
That he can.

Speaker 12 (02:17:45):
Yeah, it was funny because he started the week with
the I don't have a crystal ball as to how
fast he'll be back. It's sparring a lot of speculation
about well, not only the extent of the injury, but
the hey, we do have him long term, so there's
no need to force this right now.

Speaker 1 (02:17:59):
Right, he's not ready.

Speaker 12 (02:18:00):
We've already made the investment that we need him to
be right long term, and if we happen to win
a few games under Torod Taylor in the interim, all
the better. On the bear side of things, to your point, right,
you haven't paid fields the big money just yet, and
trying to parse out what he is or isn't a

(02:18:21):
magent with the offense, and they're scheduled these next couple
of weeks. Buck, you got the Chargers today, then you
have New Orleans and Carolina after this, I mean not
to you know, get all ahead and you know, have
a pom pom over my head. But suddenly you're looking
at a team that theoretically could be at five hundred
after ten weeks. Yeah, which is insane considering what the

(02:18:45):
early part of this season was. I'm still trying to
get a wellness check on Alan Williams, the DCM that
went missing under cover of night. Like, we've not heard
another peep out of anybody about that. Now they've hired
you know, defensive analyst to come on board and help
Eberflus and everything. But from where that season started to

(02:19:06):
where the potential is just like not saying you're a
good team, but you are going to play the Saints,
who are doing a lot of finger pointing and in fighting.
We chronicled that last week with Derek Carr. You want
to talk about trying to mend fences, Uh, there's guy
number one. And then in Carolina they've got a whole
other mess going on and I see reports that you know,

(02:19:27):
there's considerations and teams are checking in on the status
of Adam Thielen. It's like, if you're going to trade
Adam Thielen, then you might as well shut Bryce Young
down because you don't have a you don't have a
single number one or number two on that roster next
to him at this moment. So how much can you
really glean from him, you know, playing in that kind

(02:19:47):
of environment.

Speaker 3 (02:19:50):
Yeah, that's that's that's a good one. That's that's tough.
I don't know how much you can really get from it.
He hasn't had opportunity to really do a lot, and
so when I when I look get this team and
I think about where they're going and what they could do.

Speaker 2 (02:20:05):
Who knows, Like Adam.

Speaker 3 (02:20:07):
Thielen is not the missing piece. I mean, he was
a descending player his final few years in Minnesota, and
he's continued to not necessarily show that he's a high
end player. He's a good veteran to have in the
locker room. But I don't know if he moves the needle, yeah, I.

Speaker 12 (02:20:20):
Mean good veteran guy. I mean, look, he'll move the chains.
He's been good in the red zone, Like he still
fills his role. It's kind of like the latter year
and Kwon Bolden. He's not going deep on you with
any regularity, but he'll engage a little bit to try
to help on the outside. Now, they need to find
some semblance of running game in Carolina. But you know,
in terms of contenders looking for receivers, yeah, he would

(02:20:42):
be a nice piece. But if Carolina spins him off,
I don't know what you think you're gonna learn from
Bryce Young or about Bryce Young the second half of
the season if you don't at least have one, you know,
veteran in that lineup. But it's just a curiosity at
this point in the season. So many quarter where we're
gonna we're trying to see where there's an air a

(02:21:03):
parent Tennessee where it seemed like everybody was on the block,
and then well, maybe nobody's on the block. There was
a report out of Tennessee where DeAndre Hopkins had been
contracted by some third party to do an autograph signing
that got postponed until after the deadline. So you know,
because I followed that world, it's something to navigate. I

(02:21:25):
guess a little bit to whether he gets spun off again.
Derrick Henry's reportedly been told he won't and we talked
about that veteran and tenure there that maybe he gets
a little bit of a say, but I still would
be surprised if he's a Titan come week nine.

Speaker 6 (02:21:44):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (02:21:44):
Sometimes, out of common courtesy, when you have a guy
that's a franchise player like Derrick Henry has been for
your team, you do Rundo's pass him. You do give
him the opportunity like, hey man, we're going nowhere fast.
Do you want to hang and stick or would you
like to find somewhere else where maybe you can chase
Serene and could do some stuff like that. And maybe
Derek her is like, no, I'm a Titan, I'm here
for life. I made a commitment. I want to see

(02:22:06):
this thing brew. And maybe he is okay with where
they are right now that that could be. That could
be the case. But either way, the Titans are certainly
making moves. They may moves to get rid of Kevin Byered. Yeah,
it's just kind of letting you know that they're at
the point where they see it. Hey man, it's not
going anywhere. Let's go ahead and begin to kind of
like assess where we're at and see if we can

(02:22:30):
start putting together a plan put together a plan where
we can bounce back in a year or so to
be a viable continue contender.

Speaker 2 (02:22:37):
Back in this mix A J.

Speaker 12 (02:22:38):
Brown saying, hey, byered, welcome to a winner. Nice nice
little added fire there. And Mike Brabel, I just want
to circle back right because Will Love is reportedly going
to get the start. But when asked about the quarterback
position earlier this week, Mike Brabel a little testing. Now,
maybe he was mad. Bill Belichick won last week against
Buffalo on the day that he was being celebrated and

(02:23:01):
he used the word weed to describe the Patriots and all,
which got people a lot of sorts.

Speaker 10 (02:23:06):
But is a mirror these guys just getting really sensitive anymore?

Speaker 3 (02:23:10):
Oh, I mean, testy man losing to do that to
you because it's not a lot of fun. You take
those ills, you put all this work in, and you're
not rewarded at the end of the week. That's hard
on everybody, you know what I'm saying it. I mean,
regardless of the money and stuff that you make, it's
still a league in which band a scoreboard matters, and
they've been on the short end of the stick. It
doesn't look like there's any hope he's looking over with horizon.

(02:23:32):
He sees a lot more als to come, and it's hard.

Speaker 2 (02:23:36):
It's hard for anybody.

Speaker 3 (02:23:37):
So yeah, you get a little testy, get a little testy.

Speaker 12 (02:23:39):
After that, they're gonna have to start a new feature
at the end of Sunday Nights. Harmon's hugs.

Speaker 1 (02:23:44):
Here's the fun.

Speaker 7 (02:23:47):
Hug.

Speaker 3 (02:23:48):
Yeah, man like, Yeah, it's hard, hard, hard, pour all
that in and then to come up short time and
time again.

Speaker 2 (02:23:56):
Nothing not a fun.

Speaker 1 (02:23:57):
It's amazing.

Speaker 12 (02:23:58):
Sometimes feels like life is delt in the Charlie Brown
hand that he of the shirt that I wear. Bucky,
I feel seen in your statement.

Speaker 10 (02:24:10):
Coming up.

Speaker 12 (02:24:12):
Is you know that football ever out of reach at
Bucky Brooks where you find him on Twitter?

Speaker 10 (02:24:18):
Find me over at Swollen Dome.

Speaker 12 (02:24:20):
Coming up next, we'll turn our attention back Cincinnati, San Francisco,
Brock Purdy and the San Francisco offense.

Speaker 10 (02:24:28):
CMC makes it run.

Speaker 12 (02:24:30):
But at quarterback, what is brock Perdy's return, say from
the front office, we'll talk about that coming up back.
For first, we got our guy Isaac Loewen Gron with
what's trending in our sporting universe.

Speaker 13 (02:24:40):
What's trending is Harmon's hugs. I think that's a great idea.
I think it's a lot more positive than my one
time Sunday Evening segment low and Crown's losers. Wow, I'll
go with Harmon's hugs over that Eddie Day. Some hugs
necessary for fans of the Texas Rangers because after their

(02:25:02):
thrilling victory in Game one of the World Series on
Friday night, in the rematchine Game two on Saturday night,
they were shut down by Arizona's Merril Kelly. He went
seven innings, allowing one run on three hits, with nine
strikeouts and no walks as Arizona romped over the Rangers
nine to one, tying the series at one win a piece.
While in college football on Saturday night, the Arizona Wildcats

(02:25:26):
knocked off eleventh thranked Oregon State twenty seven to twenty
four Georgia Tech Radley from ten down with ten forty
one left in the fourth quarter to knockoff seventeenth ranc
North Carolina forty six to forty two number three Ohio
State a twenty four to ten win at Wisconsin. Traveon
Henderson of the Buckeyes ran for one sixty two Marvin
Harrison Junior six catches for one hundred twenty three yards.

(02:25:48):
Fifth ranked Washington victorious at Stanford forty two to thirty three.
That's fifteen consecutive wins for the Huskies. Four more touchdown
passes for Michael Pennix junior number twenty three. UCLA had
seven sacks in a twenty eight to sixteen win over Colorado,
as UCLA delivered Harmon's hugs in the Buffalo's offensive backfield

(02:26:10):
back to you.

Speaker 12 (02:26:11):
Thanks so much, Ilo at Isaac Lowincron. Let's stay with
that game for a moment and give a hug to
coach Prime and the squad there. Buffalo's in front of
a huge crowd. That was impressive to see at the
Rose Bowl. Shiloh Sanders hit I've seen it thirty five times.
I'm still waiting to figure out exactly why he was
thrown out of that game.

Speaker 2 (02:26:32):
Buggy.

Speaker 3 (02:26:33):
Yeah, no, the college rules are weird when it comes
to targeting and those things. Sometimes it's the immediate reaction,
you know, like the oohs and the ahs, the gyrations
of the hitter. You no, that's true, limp the limp
body of the hitty s Sometimes Ken elicted that response

(02:26:53):
did seem like much, but look, they're always going to
air on the side of caution, as they would saying,
and so he found himself on the bench. Is a
huge loss for Colorado, but that's not what he lost.
They lost because they can't protect a quarterback. And if
Shilah is going to be back to pass, would it
appear to be like fifty to sixty times At some

(02:27:14):
point you got to prevent him from taking the shots
that he was taken, and they have not been able
to do.

Speaker 11 (02:27:18):
So.

Speaker 12 (02:27:18):
Yeah, you were just seeing defenses lining up the te
off on Scheduur. The lack of reliance of the run
game still one of those curiosities as we flow, but
as Dion said after the game, it's like, yeah, we'll
get seven more offensive linemen in here, we'll be fine.

Speaker 1 (02:27:35):
There you go. If you like using debit over credit,
should you also get rewarded? Well, now you can't.

San Francisco forty nine ers.

Speaker 1 (02:27:58):
Are going to start.

Speaker 12 (02:27:58):
Brock pretty I got into it with my guy Jason
Smith a little bit during the week, as you know,
I often do seven to eleven Pacific here on the network.

Speaker 1 (02:28:07):
Bucky, and you know, he called.

Speaker 12 (02:28:10):
It more the indictment of Sam Darnold saying that there
wasn't a trust. I argued, it's more just look, Brock,
Perty's their guy. So if he's cleared and he's ready
to go, and he's clear minded and passes all protocols,
you've lost two games in a row, you've gotten worked
a little bit on defense. So we talked about it
before trade deadline. Team to watch to maybe go find

(02:28:33):
themselves what they can with the assets they got in
the Trey Lance deal. Maybe to go make a move
on the defensive side of things. But you need to
get your offense moving in the right direction. Again, McCaffrey
still gives you what he does, even though he was
on the report. But losing Deebo Samuel, even if it's
not a lot of touch, is still a guy you
got to contend with. And so Brock Purdy again, a

(02:28:55):
forty one yard field goal really changed a lot of
narratives for people when they had that narrow loss a
couple of weeks ago. You know, the Minnesota games to
me had more a defensive failure than anything else. But yeah,
it's just a curious way the narratives run in our
National Football League media.

Speaker 3 (02:29:16):
So I would say that what you're seeing is what
often happens in the scouting world and everything. People use
results to validate their opinions. So to confirm some of
the pre draft compinion opinions that they had on brock Purdy.
There's a faction that believed that Brock Peridy was a
byproduct of a system and a supporting cast that elevated him.

Speaker 2 (02:29:37):
They didn't buy into the notion that he was.

Speaker 3 (02:29:38):
This magical, mythical figure that has transformed the forty nine
ers into a juggernaut. And so when they see these struggles,
whether it's real or imagine, they begin to say, see,
I told you, it's not him, it's everybody else around him.
And he won't get that weight off his back. He
may never get that weight of his back because in
our media world now, we like to assign credit and blame.

(02:30:00):
You know, why why are we still having a conversation
about who was really responsible for the Patriots dynasty?

Speaker 11 (02:30:05):
Is it is it?

Speaker 3 (02:30:06):
Is it Belichick?

Speaker 2 (02:30:06):
Is it Brady? Because that's what we like.

Speaker 10 (02:30:09):
To do, And even though it's just a John.

Speaker 3 (02:30:12):
Gone, we still like to have that argument.

Speaker 1 (02:30:14):
A lot of it Belichick takes is Look, he was
a lesser coach.

Speaker 3 (02:30:19):
Yeah, and so that's and so that's that's where we are,
and that's what Brock is going to have to contend
with until he is able to show people that he's
to do. And even if he shows them, they still
won't give him the credit. So it's just part of
the hot take environment and atmosphere that we in now.

Speaker 12 (02:30:36):
Well, I think it's perfect because you come down the
coach and you look at Los Angeles and the Rams
with Matthew Stafford. People excited a little bit about what
you've got Cooper Cup and Poka nakua uh and the
offense they've been able to generate here these last couple
of weeks. Bucky, but that was a guy that most
quarterbacks went out of his out of their way to
stand for for years because of the situation he was

(02:30:58):
in in Detroit, Right, you know, Aaron Rodgers and so
many others. Yeah, who do you like to watch well
Matt Stafford, Like I want to watch his possessions. I
want to see what he does. And it took coming
to Los Angeles, being paired up with Sean McVeigh and
winning that Super Bowl to get everybody to kind of
stand up and go, okay, this makes sense real quickly.

(02:31:19):
That game today against the Cowboys, man, you want to
talk about, you know, high intrigue, high drama. He got
a three and four RAMS team more competitive than most
would would think last week, a.

Speaker 1 (02:31:31):
Very winnable game.

Speaker 12 (02:31:32):
The kicking game certainly betrayed them in the twenty four
to seventeen loss to the Steelers. Is this one where
we get back to normalization, right, Dallas shows us what
we expected or anticipated before the season. Or do you
think this one comes down.

Speaker 1 (02:31:50):
To the wire?

Speaker 3 (02:31:53):
Man? It's such a good conversation.

Speaker 2 (02:31:56):
I think this one still comes down to the wire.

Speaker 3 (02:31:59):
As much as I want to kind of pin my
hopes on the Cowboys kind of being a certain team, man, like,
I don't know, like until I see them kind of
not only win these games that are winnable games, and
this should be a winnable game for them. This should
be one that we chalk up as a dub for them.
Until we see them play a consistent high level against

(02:32:21):
all those teams, it's hard to say, you know, so
I'm gonna go with the Cowboys on this, but man,
I don't have a lot of confidence in them and
what they're doing though.

Speaker 12 (02:32:30):
Yeah, it's really difficult right because we're in week eight
of the season, and normally by this point you feel
like you know teams.

Speaker 1 (02:32:38):
I don't feel like we know very many teams.

Speaker 12 (02:32:40):
In this National Football League. That it's more a week
to week kind of transition. I don't want to put
everything on referees. I think, you know, we get caught
up into that. It's like, take care of the other
fifty eight minutes fifty nine seconds.

Speaker 1 (02:32:53):
Of football and you'll do just fine.

Speaker 12 (02:32:56):
But it is a league that wants parody, that wants
this kind of chaos week to week. But I don't
know that there's many teams that we can really put
a stamp of identity on.

Speaker 3 (02:33:09):
I can't think of I can't really think of any
to be honest, you.

Speaker 12 (02:33:12):
Know what I mean, Like, you know, I look at
him and I go, all right, they got Patrick Mahomes
and Travis Kelcey, and then a giant question mark and
the defense has been great.

Speaker 1 (02:33:21):
Does that continue? Does that flip?

Speaker 12 (02:33:24):
Do we start seeing more continuity in that offense or
do we just say, hey, they're the Chiefs, they'll be there,
Because I think that's what we lean to at this point. Well,
the Raiders and Chargers are gonna do what they do,
which means and Denver we don't trust, which means they
win the division.

Speaker 1 (02:33:39):
Now it's just let's go from there.

Speaker 12 (02:33:42):
Right with everybody else, there's still identity crises going along.
Say there's another segment, say the hug.

Speaker 3 (02:33:56):
Out, Like, I don't know, Like it's such a hard
because they're so up and down.

Speaker 12 (02:34:05):
Because we thought we knew who the forty nine ers were.
Now the defense is getting eviscerated a little bit.

Speaker 3 (02:34:11):
But I think with the Niners, like there's confidence that
they're going to be back to being who we thought
they were just because of the Shanahan thing. Right, we
believe in Shanahan, So that is enough for us to
believe that they'll fix it. For some of the other teams,
we don't have the same belief in the play caller
and the architect. Defensively, like, I think it's funny, like
Wolkes is being land basically like, yeah, he made a

(02:34:32):
cover zero blitz.

Speaker 1 (02:34:33):
I guy should have caught the ball. That should have
been a pick, Bucky.

Speaker 3 (02:34:37):
It should it should have been a pick, like And
so I'm looking at Shanahan being like, oh yeah, I'm like, man,
the result is one thing, but the process and how
they played it that's another.

Speaker 12 (02:34:47):
Should the defender Addison should have been minus sixty yards
and a touchdown?

Speaker 2 (02:34:52):
Should?

Speaker 3 (02:34:53):
I mean it should have been a done deal.

Speaker 2 (02:34:54):
It should have been fairly easy to do. But they
didn't get it done. And that's what you get.

Speaker 3 (02:35:00):
You know, you get the second guessing and all that
other stuff.

Speaker 2 (02:35:02):
But it's kind of a I guess it's just a part.

Speaker 1 (02:35:05):
Of the game. There you go.

Speaker 12 (02:35:06):
It's part of the deal when it's the multi billion dollar,
heavily televised, heavily scrutinized world of the National Football League.
Week eight, As We're coming to you live from the

get to our game to watch of the day, obviously,
Bucky working the Jacksonville Pittsburgh game a huge one, but

(02:36:09):
a story that I just saw pop into my timeline,
you know, as you pause and take a sip a
cup of coffee, Bucky, I thought this was interesting. As
a man who's been around the league, you know, and coaching,
mentoring your college years all the way through the pros,
and being a scout, all of these things, how many
times you've experienced one of these? According to Tom Pellisero,

(02:36:32):
the Raiders had an open team meeting on Thursday. Everybody
allowed to voice their frustration with the rest of the
team and quote. Nothing was off limits, So I guess
Devontae Adams, Crosby Jacobs, everybody spoke up, as well as
some others. How often have you been involved in something

(02:36:52):
like this? I know we were chuckling about it the
other night with the Chicago Bulls holding a team meeting
after their season opener.

Speaker 3 (02:37:02):
It happens. Sometimes it can be productive. It just depends
on if people are really honest with one another in
those meetings. And not only are they honest, are they
willing to make changes following that? MANI is the coaching
staff willing to make some changes based on what they
hear from.

Speaker 2 (02:37:17):
The players feedback?

Speaker 3 (02:37:19):
Is Josh McDaniels willing to tweak and adapt to those things?
So it can't be positive. It just depends on what
kind of environment you fostered prior to that. That will
determine what it looks like going forward.

Speaker 12 (02:37:31):
Yeah, it is the curiosity whenever we get team meetings
of any variety. You know, my years certainly perk up
trying to figure out where they're at. Because McDaniel's a
guy let's face it, the poison pens are out. The
genius tag long removed as they try to figure out
the next iteration. Jimmy Garoppolo back for the Monday night

(02:37:53):
game against the Lions this week. All right, So as
we look at the slate today, we talked a little
bit of Rams Dallas. We do have weather part of it,
whether it's snow potential in Denver or rain up on
the East coast. So keep an eye on that for
your fantasy purposes. But always track the wind. That's the
bigger thing as you start going on to the weather site,

(02:38:14):
see where there might be some gusts, because I mean,
guys can play in rain, guys can play in snow.
It's all about what are we doing with the downfield
passing and kicking games if the ball's suddenly taking a
little bit of a circuitous route to get to their
respective targets. Bucky, what's the game of the day that
stands out as maybe sneaky good that folks should be

(02:38:35):
paying attention to.

Speaker 3 (02:38:38):
We kind of talked about it like the Browns and
the Seahawk, like that's a sneaky good game to me,
just in terms of what are we going to see
from them. But the game that I'm really focused on
are the Bengals in the Niners. The Bengals in the
Niners the big game to me, because the Bengals are
legit and we need to see how the forty nine
is get up off the mat. A lot of doubt,

(02:38:58):
a lot of uncertainty about how good the team is
now because they dropped a couple. Let's see how they are.
Because the Bengals are good enough for us to get
a true assessment on how good this team is.

Speaker 12 (02:39:06):
Yeah, and the Bengals on a good run right before
the bye week. Another week to get healthy and positive again,
no bye weeks, no bye teams.

Speaker 1 (02:39:16):
This week already won game in the book. With that
Buffalo win over.

Speaker 12 (02:39:19):
Tampa the last thirty seconds, you got a giant assessment
of where the Bills are. I mean, they need some
defensive help, but take anything for that game.

Speaker 2 (02:39:32):
Look, they're inconsistent.

Speaker 3 (02:39:33):
They have to have the game played a certain way,
and honestly, the Bills are going to go as far
as Josh Allen would take them. I think Sean mcdermoty
has to reconsider what they're doing with Josh Allen. I
think they're gonna have to let him be James Harden.
He's gonna have to go for his at all times.

Speaker 12 (02:39:45):
Look at that James Harden way to get him into
the conversation. He's Bucky on Mike Countdown to kick offf
his next on Fox.
