(00:48):
Just a little something to get back today. But Happy
Veterans Day. Happy thank you again. But man, months, we've
already had a packed morning. College football Michigan Johman without
Jim Harbaugh. Bet, Okay, we're gonna to get into that
because I'm gonna be honest. I don't understand. I went
on a deep dive on social media. Saw Brady tweeted it.
(01:09):
There's a lot of people just tweeting bet. Is it
an acronym for something or is it like bet on
us We're gonna be fine?
Speaker 3 (01:16):
Because they were.
Speaker 4 (01:17):
That's how I took it. If I'm wrong, I mean
I also didn't do a deep dive and try to
figure it out, but I was. I just took it
as it started with their quarterback, right JJ McCarthy was
the first one. I think that was like bet and
then the whole team, even Tom Brady. I think it
was like just like bet, we're.
Speaker 5 (01:29):
Fine, bet on us us. We'll get to that in
just maybe it's not.
Speaker 2 (01:32):
I don't know who knows who does tweet at us,
at Alex Underscore Curry or.

At Monte Bolanos.

Speaker 3 (02:32):
Monci, we're already halfway through the NFL season.
Speaker 4 (02:36):
That's crazy, right, That's great because that means that's like
halfway through our show. Right anniversary too.
Speaker 6 (02:41):
I know.
Speaker 3 (02:42):
Oh that's cute.
Speaker 2 (02:43):
Yeah, you want to do a little and you're just
like doing things that make you feel happy today. Yeah,
I'm just gonna note that you have your giant Stanley.
You are a Stanley Girl, Stanley.
Speaker 6 (02:52):
The cups.
Speaker 3 (02:53):
You haven't seen all the memes.
Speaker 2 (02:54):
No, the giant cup that you are holding is like
a whole trend of like women who have this emotional
support cup and it's called a Stanley, And there are
these giant cups with the straws that fit into your car,
and it's like a whole movement.
Speaker 3 (03:09):
It's like a meme. I had no idea you are
a meme today.
Speaker 4 (03:12):
This one of my best friends, Grace, hey girl, she's
probably tuning in.
Speaker 5 (03:15):
She gave this to me. I mean, it's rat you
are awesome. You and Alex Curry. Congratulations.
Speaker 4 (03:21):
Here is a congratulations gift that seriously I love it.
Speaker 2 (03:25):
I'm like, I'm giving you a hard time because I'm
a little jealous of it. I don't own one of
these things, and everybody has them. I have an accountability
water bottle that says, let's get started. You're doing great.
Remember your goal? Almost there?
Speaker 6 (03:38):
You did it?
Speaker 5 (03:38):
Listen. I love that. I need I ted Lasso believed.
Speaker 6 (03:42):
Sticker on it.
Speaker 2 (03:42):
But I tap a couple of times and they just
to bump myself up because I gotta I gotta drink
more water.
Speaker 4 (03:47):
So you know what, I just realized. Also, the way
you didn't fight with your microphone today, it's.
Speaker 5 (03:50):
A good day, Alex. You didn't fight with your microphone today.
Speaker 2 (03:53):
Guys, I have such a weird time with this microphone
that doesn't move all the ways.
Speaker 5 (03:57):
I want to tell you.
Speaker 3 (03:58):
It was kind of already set up for me.
Speaker 6 (04:02):
I just moved it over all.
Speaker 2 (04:04):
Right, let's get to our mid season report cards. Okay,
we're gonna go through. We got the best, the worst, uh,
most improved, the biggest disappointment, biggest surprise.
Speaker 4 (04:21):
Big surprise, there one, whichever way you want to go
about it, honestly.
Speaker 2 (04:24):
Okay, So, and it's from wak one to now you guys, Yes, right,
We're gonna start with.
Speaker 3 (04:29):
The best the best, and I'm gonna go with the Eagles.
Speaker 2 (04:32):
All right, you know, everything stop, not really, because everything
about this team is clicking on all cylinders, and it's
been a slow build. They're not like they weren't winning
pretty and easily early on. They were just kind of
finding ways to win. Obviously, they were in the Super
Bowl last year and they lost, so they have that
(04:52):
chip on their shoulder. But and this may contradict my point,
they're not the best or top in all of the stats.
But they don't have to be the best at everything.
They just need to be the best product on the field, right,
Because their offense is second in points per game, third
in yards per game, hurts his fifth in passing yards,
tenth in passer rating, and their defense is kind of
(05:14):
middle of the pack twentieth and points allowed, in thirteenth
in yards allowed.
Speaker 5 (05:19):
But stats are great, Yeah, but what matters.
Speaker 2 (05:24):
Are wins, and they are winning games, and they have
the best record in the NFL eight and one plus.
I just I love that Jason Kelce is like having
a full glow up right now. Finalist for Sexiest Man
Alive this week, spend his bye week on Thursday Night football.
He is just I love that family, right, and I
love Jason Kelce. So, yeah, the Eagles are the best
(05:46):
so far mid point of the season.
Speaker 3 (05:48):
Who's your best?
Speaker 5 (05:49):
So I actually agree with a lot of what you said.
Speaker 4 (05:52):
That right to me, there is no team that is
a clear front runner, like you just said, You're right
by wins.
Speaker 5 (05:58):
The Eagles are the best. I agree with you.
Speaker 4 (06:00):
Everyone's kind of like there's a couple of teams that
could pull this off, right, including the Eagles.
Speaker 5 (06:05):
But You're right, there's not one team. So I didn't
pick a team. I picked a player.
Speaker 7 (06:08):
Okay, Christian McCaffrey like has scored a touchdown every single game,
if not two, if not three, for how much, sixteen
seventeen games in an I love McCaffrey, like, he is
a huge part of the success of the forty nine ers,
and I think a lot of people weren't sure what
he was gonna do.
Speaker 5 (06:27):
What do you mean because I don't want to jurious.
Speaker 2 (06:30):
Yes, Ay, he's like kind of been through some stuff.
I mean, I've had an injury.
Speaker 5 (06:35):
One was the one. I think people were worried.
Speaker 4 (06:37):
Not that nobody wants him to get nobody wants anyone
to get hurt, but I think people were worried that
it was his time, you know, like it just happens you're.
Speaker 5 (06:43):
A running back.
Speaker 2 (06:44):
But he instead, look at him, he got a second
chance in the league, a win ass team. Yeah, Like,
so every and every gauge to like this amazing successful woman.
Speaker 4 (06:58):
Yeah, very pretty, uh cool pol Olivia, coolpole, That's what
it is. Yeah, Yeah, I just it's like every single
game he has delivered.
Speaker 5 (07:07):
Now, have the Niners won every single game?
Speaker 4 (07:10):
No, they've lost the three in rows, but he individually, Yeah,
is to me the best performance midway through the season.
Speaker 5 (07:16):
Yeah, yeah, I'll take him every day.
Speaker 2 (07:19):
Okay, yeah, we're gonna go the opposite now, the worst.
We're gonna go the worst, the worst halfway through. I'm
sticking with the team here, and I'm gonna say the
Patriots are hot under Bill Belichick. Okay, you should not
be two and seven at all. Offense is bad, defense
is bad. Mac Jones is bad, and Mac Jones is
(07:45):
who Bill Belichick as the coach. And the GM went
out and picked he has not lived up to the expectations.
And at one point they're like, ah, maybe it's because
he didn't have an offensive coordinator last year.
Speaker 3 (07:57):
But they got you Bill O'Brien this year, and Mac
is nowhere.
Speaker 2 (08:00):
You're where they expected him to be, not worth a
fifteenth overall pick. They went from a dynasty to an
embarrassment in a little over.
Speaker 3 (08:12):
Three years.
Speaker 2 (08:13):
I mean, this is Bill's fourth season without Tom Brady
and they have not won a playoff game since Tom
Brady left. And when you go from the Goat to
the Mac, your expectations are going to be sky high
because that was the standard for twenty years.
Speaker 5 (08:28):
I like that line though, from the goat to the
Mac like that, that was a good line.
Speaker 6 (08:32):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (08:33):
So for me, Patriots.
Speaker 4 (08:36):
So I'm in a team and a player who Daniel
Jones and the Giants yikes. To me, the expectation was there.
Brian Dable wins Coach of the Year last year, Daniel
Jones signs a massive contract, Saquon Barkley fighting for a
massive contract, all.
Speaker 5 (08:54):
Of this expectation.
Speaker 4 (08:55):
Now, I know there's injuries involved, but prior to the injuries,
it looked nasty. It took them what seven quarters to Yeah,
it was ugly, sta you know what I'm saying. Yeah,
and that could be cool, nasty, Yeah, none of those things.
Speaker 5 (09:15):
None of those things.
Speaker 4 (09:16):
It has not looked pretty from the beginning. And it's like,
what what so was last year?
Speaker 5 (09:24):
Are you?
Speaker 6 (09:25):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (09:26):
Sometimes you just like you're playing for your life, you're
playing for your career, and that's what they were doing,
and that's what he did.
Speaker 3 (09:33):
And then he get paid and then everything kind of goes.
Speaker 4 (09:37):
Like if I were a Giants fan, it's got to
be such a frustrating season and we're only halfway and
they have.
Speaker 5 (09:43):
To still It's not like they can tap out and
be like, hey, you know what, you're done for the season.
Speaker 6 (09:49):
I just feel real bad for like a.
Speaker 4 (09:52):
Yeah, you're right right, you know. But they've had a
lot of success over the years. But to me, Daniel
Jones and the Giants are the worst so far halfway
through the season, and I don't see them getting any better.
Speaker 6 (10:04):
No, they're not.
Speaker 5 (10:05):
No, no, yeah, no, blutal No, it's bad.
Speaker 2 (10:07):
I think it's like a Cowboys are like a seventeen
and a half point yeah to tomorrow.
Speaker 6 (10:12):
Yeah, no, that's bad.
Speaker 3 (10:13):
Okay, we're gonna move to most improved now.
Speaker 2 (10:15):
Remember this is from week one to now, because you're
gonna be like Alex he's one of the best. Why
is he the most improved? My most improved is Joe Burrow. Okay,
because the way Joe started the season to where he
is now further proves why he is one of the
best in the game.
Speaker 3 (10:31):
Obviously, he was injured.
Speaker 2 (10:33):
He started the season, started the preseason injured with his
calf injury. His Week one loss to the Browns was
one of the worst in his career. Eighty two passing yards,
worst of his career, only completed forty five percent of
his passes worst of his career. Fast forward to the
last four weeks, they've won four straight games. In those games,
(10:54):
ten touchdowns, only two interceptions, a passer rating of one
to eleven point two, and a completion percentage of seventy
five point eight. Since Week five, bro has the best
passer rating in the league.
Speaker 5 (11:06):
That's right, still has a lot of work to do.
Speaker 2 (11:09):
They have that seventh like if the playoffs started today,
they've got like seventh spot in the AFC, so they're
in like that playoff last wild card spot. But if
they're playing that the way they are, they are trending
in the right direction, and I think they're just they're gonna.
Speaker 3 (11:25):
Be just fine, all right.
Speaker 5 (11:26):
I like that because you know, I love Joe Burrow,
so I'm into that. Oh I love love that guy.
You're blinded, I know, And I just smiled.
Speaker 8 (11:33):
I was like, Yeah, does he like.
Speaker 2 (11:37):
My Michael Jordan sparkling football?
Speaker 6 (11:42):
I hope.
Speaker 5 (11:42):
So I bottle that I have, Yes, I actually have.
Speaker 4 (11:45):
But one of my friends gave me a cup and
it's him with glasses and it says a cup of
Joe sick.
Speaker 5 (11:51):
So cute. I was like, I know, I.
Speaker 3 (11:53):
Collection, I do need to start bringing them in.
Speaker 5 (11:56):
I'm just gonna put them behind us. I mean, if yeah, no.
Speaker 3 (12:02):
Give me, come on.
Speaker 5 (12:04):
Most improved for me is gonna.
Speaker 4 (12:05):
Be the Texans because last year they weren't this obviously,
and then at the start of the season they were
expected to just win six games.
Speaker 6 (12:14):
That's it.
Speaker 4 (12:14):
Right now, they're four and four in the AFC South
and c J. Stroud rookie quarterback, kicking ass and taking
names with a rookie coach. I just am like watching
them every single time. And they started zero and two
to start the season, so it's like they really have
improved slowly but surely.
Speaker 5 (12:34):
And watching CJ.
Speaker 4 (12:35):
Stroud, like, come on, did you think they were gonna
have a better record than the Tennessee Titans, like right
now midway?
Speaker 5 (12:41):
No.
Speaker 9 (12:41):
No.
Speaker 4 (12:41):
If you would have asked at the start of the season,
halfway through, who's gonna have a better record, the Tennessee
Titans or the Houston Texans, you would have said, Derrick
Henry and the Titans.
Speaker 5 (12:49):
That's what naturally you would have said. And they're not.
Speaker 4 (12:53):
And it's just incredible. Go Houston Texans to me, most
improved for sure.
Speaker 2 (12:58):
This leads us to kind of flows right into my
biggest surprise, biggest surprise, My biggest surprise this season is
CJ Stroup. Last weekend, he said the NFL rookie record
with four hundred and seventy passing yards in a single
game beat the Bucks. After Baker Mayfield had an end
of the game touchdown, looked like it was gonna be over,
(13:19):
CJ had forty six seconds, went seventy five yards in
six plays to win the game. Now, as you mentioned,
there was a lot of question marks coming into the
season for CJ.
Speaker 5 (13:30):
In Houston.
Speaker 2 (13:30):
Obviously not an organization with a great history, right, they
had first year head coach, as you mentioned, the offensive
coordinators also in his first year as an OC. Now,
people expected CJ to be good, but I don't think
they expect him him to be this good in this
situation at this moment.
Speaker 4 (13:48):
It's fast, And do you remember at the start of
the season, these quarterbacks they take like a cognitive test,
like an NFL cognitive test, and he scored like the
second lowest and everybody couldn't get over that. And while
Bryce Young scored I don't know, like such a good score.
And so I feel like nobody really expected this out
(14:09):
of CJ. Strout, especially after that test and he's like,
watch this and even said, I'm not a test taker.
Speaker 2 (14:14):
I deliver on the field. I get that, and I'm
not either. I'm a great public speaker. I am a
great like in person. Let's have a conversation. I was a.
Speaker 6 (14:23):
Horrible test taker.
Speaker 5 (14:24):
Yeah no, I like that. I love your biggest surprise
I got, you know what.
Speaker 4 (14:28):
I have a few that I really could list off,
but I'm gonna give it to Puka Nakula of the
Rams because I.
Speaker 5 (14:35):
Just feel like nobody was talking about him.
Speaker 3 (14:38):
You know, current people.
Speaker 4 (14:39):
You have rookies that you hear about, right, like, oh,
keep an eye on this guy, keep an eye on
this one.
Speaker 5 (14:45):
I never heard keep an eye on.
Speaker 2 (14:46):
Pooka Nakua, especially since like Cooper Cup was injured to
start the season and still hasn't fully like been back
to the Cooper Cup that we know.
Speaker 4 (14:53):
Right, the Rams, who everyone just kind of brushed off
thinking it wasn't gonna be a good season, literally has
one games. Because poku aua top five in receiving yards,
like you just said, filled a huge role while Cooper
Cup was gone. I just wasn't expecting it. I love
his name biggest surprise for me. You go, Poka, I
love that.
Speaker 3 (15:13):
Yeah, mid season report cards. Yeah, let us know what
you think. I want to start getting some.
Speaker 2 (15:17):
Like fan interactions on the show. So if you agree
or you don't, or you have like another category you
like or someone that you want to put in, tweeted
us at Alex Underscore Curry.
Speaker 5 (15:28):
At Monty Bilanos.
Speaker 3 (15:29):
All right, we're gonna take a quick break here, but
when we come back, we're gonna talk about one.

Win on the road in this environment when there were doubts, su,
what does it mean to you?
Speaker 6 (16:37):
Oh, I thank the Lord, I thank coach Harbo.
Speaker 1 (16:41):
Love you man, love done you man.
Speaker 6 (16:45):
You But there's university the president.
Speaker 9 (16:50):
Ah ad, we got the best players, best university, best
alumni in the country. Love you guys, these guys, like
these guys right here.
Speaker 7 (16:58):
Man, these guys did it?
Speaker 3 (17:04):
Thank you coach?
Speaker 8 (17:05):
I mean Bett, I got chills just you couldn't feel
the emotion, you could feel the passion literally proving every
single person wrong.
Speaker 2 (17:16):
Oh you think it was the signs stealing that makes
us one of the best teams in the nation.
Speaker 3 (17:20):
No, we're great.
Speaker 2 (17:22):
Yes, Plus everybody already knew, like everybody knew that that
was happening and changing their signs like, that's not.
Speaker 4 (17:29):
What made them great, that's not what made them what
they are now. In case you don't know who that is.
That is Michigan's interim coach Sharon Moore talking to Jenny
Taft because again Jim Harbaugh was suspended. Was not on
the sidelines for this game?
Speaker 6 (17:44):
Did it matter?
Speaker 4 (17:45):
No, Michigan still be Penn State twenty four to fifteen.
You could hear the emotion, You could feel the emotion.
Speaker 3 (17:52):
Ugh, on the road, yeah.
Speaker 6 (17:53):
On the road? All right?
Speaker 3 (17:54):
Two more games without Jim Harbaugh, Yes, but you.
Speaker 5 (17:58):
Know they started the season without him.
Speaker 6 (18:01):
What season?
Speaker 3 (18:04):
Gosh suspended twice in one season?
Speaker 6 (18:07):
Right, it's crazy? All right? You're litten to Fox Sports Saturday.
Speaker 2 (18:10):
I Amlex Curry here with Monty Blanio's We are broadcasting
live from the Tyrek dot Com studios in Los Angeles. Now, Mancy,
every sports team requires chemistry, yes, right, but that chemistry
is a little different in each sport, in each game,
and when it comes to the NBA, because there's only
five of you on the court, chemistry is everything. And
(18:34):
last week we're seeing firsthand why chemistry is so important.
Speaker 3 (18:39):
Okay, James Harden, your.
Speaker 2 (18:42):
Boy, your new boy made his debut with the Clippers
on Monday, and since then, the Clippers are oh in three,
lost to Luca and the MAVs last night. I can
tell that's why you are not wearing your Clippers gear
today and why I am wearing my Lakers gear because
Lebron willed them to a game.
Speaker 3 (19:01):
But that's not the point.
Speaker 5 (19:02):
No, it's not the point.
Speaker 2 (19:03):
Now when you hear this roster, the Clippers roster James Harden,
Russell Westbrook, Paul George Kawhi, Leonard, they have four superstars
on their team right. They are healthy and playing together,
but for some reason, nothing is clicking. And when you
look at their team, all of their personalities are star power.
(19:25):
I'm the guy with the ball. Who is going to
be willing to take a back seat on this team?
Speaker 6 (19:33):
I don't know.
Speaker 3 (19:33):
Because when you look at the team.
Speaker 2 (19:34):
That Harden left seventy six ers, seven and one, first
in the East.
Speaker 3 (19:41):
They've now won seven straight.
Speaker 2 (19:43):
They look fluid, they look happy on the court, and
their leader Joelle Embiid talked about it this.
Speaker 9 (19:52):
Week, the fact that guys want to, you know, play
with each other, and you know, they like being around
each other. I think he helps a lot too, you know,
guys are you know, sawfish on the ball is moving
no matter if the shots are going there or not.
You know, guys are just happy.
Speaker 2 (20:11):
They're happy, they're happy, there's chemistry, the ball is moving.
Speaker 5 (20:16):
I think he also said nobody has an ego.
Speaker 3 (20:18):
Mm hmm, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 5 (20:21):
You know, uh yeah, it's a very.
Speaker 4 (20:24):
Uh frustrating situation. I never wanted hardened, and once it happened,
you know, I was like, all right, let's give it
a shot. And so some people let's give.
Speaker 3 (20:33):
It a shot because I own the team and I
played for the Clippers.
Speaker 5 (20:35):
Oh you didn't know that, you Yeah, they run everything
by me.
Speaker 6 (20:39):
You didn't know that.
Speaker 5 (20:40):
Oh yeah, they run everything by me. Yeah, exactly.
Speaker 4 (20:43):
Uh So I was like, okay, I have to, you know,
as a fan, jump on board, right, And some people
are like, how are you already you know, jumping off
board And it's like, because this isn't is a small
sample size of playing with the Clippers, but the James
Harden sample size. He's big and wide, and it's just like,
(21:03):
it's you are the issue, Like what is the Taylor Swift?
Speaker 5 (21:08):
Min me, I'm the problem.
Speaker 4 (21:09):
It's me.
Speaker 6 (21:09):
It's me.
Speaker 5 (21:10):
That's yeah, I'm the problem. It's me. And it's like
until he realizes, but you.
Speaker 4 (21:14):
Know what, I've come to the conclusion here, Alex, James
Harden does not care about winning a championship. I have
come to that conclusion. It is the only thing that
makes sense. Okay, we're gonna talk about others and perfect
example like Chris Paul, Right, Chris Paul taking a back seat.
(21:36):
Why because he sees that he is in a position
to actually win a championship. Yeah, James Harden, you are
in a position to win a championship, but it doesn't
matter to you. So to me, I think if I
were to go up to James Harden and be like,
you want one hundred million dollars or do you want
a championship, I think he would say I'll take one hundred.
Speaker 3 (21:57):
Mili, Like I might have to be a little bit more.
Speaker 7 (21:59):
But you get get what I'm saying that he does
not care.
Speaker 4 (22:04):
He said he wanted to be the scoring champion. What
are you talking about. You've already won an MVP, you
were the sixth Man of the Year, You've already been
the scoring champion, and like, you don't care. He just
does not care. And it's really frustrating to come into
a team that is putting all their eggs in one
basket once again for this season. And to see that
(22:27):
it's like already not working. Like there's little snippets where
I'm like, oh, okay, it could work. And you know
when those snippets are all in the first quarter and
then all of a sudden, it's a different it's it
just doesn't work.
Speaker 3 (22:39):
But that tracks out for James Harden.
Speaker 5 (22:41):
Right, right, So it's like, am I the stupid one?
Speaker 6 (22:44):
Yes?
Speaker 5 (22:44):
I am, because I thought, yeah, you're just abandoning ship.
That's okay, I'm abandoning his ship.
Speaker 3 (22:48):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (22:49):
But just to add on, you mentioned the Warriors with
Chris Paul. They also had a chemistry issue with Jordan Poole.
So they got rid of Jordan Poole. They picked up
Chris Paul. As you mentioned, people were wondering, is this
gonna work? Is he going to be able to take
a back seat for the first time in his career
coming off the bench? And you know what, The Ryers
have spent a good part of the start of their
season on the road. They currently have a seventy one
(23:11):
percent win percentage on the road. Last year with Jordan
Poole horrible on the road, thirty seven win percentage, which
is a big deal when you're on the road.
Speaker 3 (23:22):
You are family.
Speaker 2 (23:23):
You are spending every waking moment with these people, these men,
you need to get along. There needs to be a
good chemistry totally.
Speaker 4 (23:31):
And like to give credit to Draymond Green who is
also does what he needs to do. He doesn't need
to be the star. That's why it works. Yeah, Jordan
Poole just had a quote saying that like he got
everything he needed out of Golden State and now he
can play basketball the way he wants.
Speaker 5 (23:46):
And it's like, dude, are you hear yourself?
Speaker 2 (23:50):
Like, and this is why you're not gonna work on
a championship tea exactly. Not gotta be team mentality, not
me mentality. All right, Now, let's check in with my
and wise to see what's trending.
Speaker 12 (24:06):
College football score is currently in progress right now. Number
four Florida State up ten nothing early in the second
quarter against Miami. Number five Washington with a fourteen I'm sorry,
Number five Washington trailing number eighteen. You saw fourteen to
ten that went also early in the second quarter act
on Fox TV. Number thirteenth rank Tennessee with a seven
to three lead over fourteenth rank Missouri and number fifteen
(24:28):
Oklahoma State is getting cooked right now by UCF scored
twenty four to nothing ten minutes left in the second quarter.
Colorado and coach Prime with thirty one to twenty four
lead over number twenty one Arizona in a pack twelve
matchup and going into the half another blowout. Number twenty
five Kansas State thirty five Baylor thirteen. Earlier today, Michigan
(24:48):
beat Penna State twenty four to fifteen. Number eight Alabama
be Kentucky forty nine to twenty one. In Texas Tech
upset Number sixteen Kansas sixteen to thirteen. For this, let's
start that over Buffalo Bill's our Receiversdefon Diggs mispracticed, but
he is expected to play tomorrow. Quarterback Kyler Murray also
(25:10):
expected to play tomorrow. He'll make his first start after
tearing his ACL eleven months ago. Cardinals also activating running
back James Connor off of injured reserve to.
Speaker 5 (25:20):
Other guys who were hurt.
Speaker 12 (25:21):
San Francisco forty nine to wide Receiver Deebo Shamuel expected
to play after suffering a hairline shoulder fracture three weeks ago.
Left tackle Trent Williams is still quote real questionable per
head coach Kyle Shanahan.
Speaker 6 (25:33):
You know who's not questionable, You too, Alex and Monzi
back to you.
Speaker 2 (25:36):
I thank you, Martin. You're listening to Fox Sports Saturday.
Alex Curry here with Monsy Bilanos. We are broadcasting live
from the tyreck dot Com studios in Los Angeles. Thank
you for spending your Saturday afternoon with Monciami. But let's
get to our guest, because he knows and writes all
things NBA. You've seen him on CBS Spectrum, You've heard
him here on Fox Sports Radio hundreds of times.
Speaker 5 (25:58):
Let's bring in NBA insight. Mark Medina, thank you for
joining us.
Speaker 13 (26:02):
Thank you, Mark, Hey, Alex Monse, thanks for having me.
Hey Monts, I'm wondering are you a Wakers fan yet
or are you so lowly?
Speaker 6 (26:10):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (26:10):
Mark right, I'm rocking my Lakers gear today, just to
rub it interface a little bit.
Speaker 5 (26:15):
That's it. I'm leaving.
Speaker 6 (26:16):
It's okay.
Speaker 3 (26:16):
But hey monks, we're going to start with your team.
Speaker 6 (26:18):
Mark.
Speaker 3 (26:18):
We have to start with a news star in La
James Harden.
Speaker 2 (26:22):
We have not seen the results on the court yet,
but take us into that locker room.
Speaker 3 (26:26):
What has the vibe been like since he arrived.
Speaker 13 (26:29):
The Clippers have been preaching patients that this is going
to take time. Everyone has to figure out their chemistry
and roles. And these are answers that I'm sure that
Monse doesn't like. But if there is a silver lining
to it and it's all relative, is that there's no
sense that people are being frustrated with each other and
people aren't willing to sacrifice. It's almost the opposite. They're
(26:51):
stressing that it's not like they're overly deferring to each other.
But from what I've seen on the court so far,
clearly either James Harden, Russell Westbrook, Kawhi Leonard, or Paul
George are playing aggressive enough for this to make it work.
And it might sound contradictory because when you need to sacrifice,
(27:12):
you know, your individual performances to make this team work,
you may have to give up you know, shots, touches,
et cetera, but you can't give up your level of aggressiveness.
And I think that that's what's happened, that it's been overthinking.
You know, there is this good intent that they don't
want to be the scapegoat and the guy that's being
selfish with not making it work. But as a result,
(27:35):
they're also not being aggressive enough to get enough Bothen opportunities.
So it will take time. But you know, even though
it's early in the season, part of the reason why
the Clippers did this trade to begin with was they
wanted to put more value in the regular season as
opposed to past years with how it was always about
(27:55):
the big picture. So at some point they're going to
have to start showing some results.
Speaker 2 (28:00):
Obviously hopefully get over that playoff hump and you know,
get to the top of the mountain. Now, you just
named all the star power that the Clippers have on
that team, and what you said it's not being aggressive enough.
But I mean, these are some of the best of
the best. What's it going to take for it to
all start clicking.
Speaker 13 (28:17):
Well, I think that it's going to start with that
number one factor, and I think number two. I think
that it's going to have to be about James Harden
being the primary ball handler. And unlike Russell Westbrook's time
with the Lakers, where it wasn't a fit here, it
has been with a good fit with the Clippers. But
I think that at some point, for both those players' sakes,
(28:39):
they're going to have to stagger the lineups. Like when
I talked with one assistant coach before James Harden Harden's debut,
they said, maybe the best solution is for Tywoo to
make Russ this like fake starter, so like instead of
it creating this huge storyline of him coming off the
bench again, just shortened his rotations so that he can
lead the unit. Now in the short term, that's not
(29:02):
necessarily going to be a solution because they tried doing
that against Dallas and just things went off the rails,
partly because of the chemistry and partly because they just
don't have many bigs outside of the Viza Zubas because
of Mason Plumbley's injury. But I think big picture, at
some point it's going to have to be about him
running the offense because he's more comfortable with the ball
(29:25):
in his hands. But that does a mean that hard
and all of a sudden has to be the guy
that's just shooting. It's about being allowing him though to orchestrate,
so that you know, Kawhi MPG can get more open looks.
Speaker 5 (29:37):
So Mark, you're telling me he has a requested a trade.
Speaker 13 (29:41):
He has not, all right, for what it's worth, and
I know that this might be met with an I
roll here, Mon said, but you know, I've talked with
folks you know that are in his camp, you know,
from Martesia and just people that worked with him, and
they've made it emphatically clear to me that for all
the things that we've seen with heart and the good,
bad and the I believe that he his main objective
(30:03):
is winning a championship, and he will do what it
takes to sacrifice his role. Now I'm with you. Probably
I'm waiting ce mode, but for what it's worth, the
people that know him well say that he has that
mindset going in partly because he knows what his reputation
has been these last years.
Speaker 5 (30:20):
That's what I'm saying, reputation.
Speaker 4 (30:21):
How am I supposed to believe that what he has
done year after year after a year is not going
to happen this year. I just said to Alex, I
don't believe this guy wants to win a championship.
Speaker 5 (30:32):
I don't think he cares.
Speaker 13 (30:33):
Yeah, well, Mon say, look, I agree with you wholeheartedly
of when you know people show you what they do,
believe them right and action speak louder than words. Now
this isn't to defend him, but people around him will
say a lot of the things that didn't go well
these last few seasons. One, they do say that he's
got to take responsibility and hold up his end of
(30:55):
the bargain as far as health, conditioning performance. But a
lot of the frustrations were very specific. You know, Houston,
everyone's already in rebuild mode. GM left, coach left, Russ
left like that was a team that was not contending
for a title, so he wanted out. Brooklyn frustrated that
(31:15):
Kyrie Irving's not available health related and you know, vaccine
mandate related. And then three the contract situation in Philly
with Zeryl Morier, where he was under the impression implied
or not that he would be rewarded with the contract
after taking a pay cut last summer. So their whole
point with this is that while there's certainly things he
(31:35):
needs to take responsibility for some of these variables that
contributed to all these toxic exits, they don't apply to
what's happening with the Clippers. They're unique things. But to
your point, mon say, what is common is that it's
professional sports. When you're on a team with star studed guys,
you're going to have to be comfortable with the justing
your role, and so far it hasn't worked out.
Speaker 5 (31:57):
You don't say Mark.
Speaker 2 (32:00):
Move to the other team in LA. The Lakers not
off to the start that they wanted. They did get
a big win last night over the Suns, but we
heard Lebron talk this week about how they haven't been
able to find that cohesion because of the injuries. Now,
do you agree it's the injuries are the big problem
or is there something bigger that we don't know?
Speaker 13 (32:19):
Well, you can't discount the injuries. There have been so
many overlapping ones where I think that they haven't had
a game where they've had their full roster together. And
that was partly why the Lakers were all about connuity
this offseason, because they saw what that led to with
the Western Conference Finals run. But I think it's also
(32:41):
there's been a few things here. Austin Reeves has had
some you know, poor shooting performances, didn't really carry that
strong level play that he showed in the playoffs, and
with Team USA, D'Angel Russell has had you know, mixed
performances here. So I think it's not just the injuries.
It's also you know, some of those unanticipated sluggish play
(33:03):
as well as the group itself. They've been outscored, you know,
in the first quarter through every single game this season,
and that's like, I think, one of the only teams
ever in NBA history that's ever experienced that. And so
while it is a small sample size, it's early. What
does leave me concerned is that clearly Lebron playing at
(33:25):
his absolute best an injury free isn't going to be
enough to carry this team. And Anthony Davis, he's been
mostly healthy, with exception of that hip spasms that kept
him out against Houston, He's been playing fairly well too,
And so clearly those two things aren't enough for the
Lakers to be a really consistent team. It's going to
(33:47):
have to be about their supporting cast, having at least
one or two guys on a night to night basis
that can carry the load to complement those star players,
and so far we haven't seen it. Maybe to step
in the right direction with Darwin ham deciding to bring
Austin Reeves off the bench, not because of Reeves's struggles,
(34:07):
but just being able to split the ball handling duties
with him in DiAngelo with staggered lineups, and he saw
Cam Briddish hit a pretty key shot a game after
missing a key shot against Houston. But this was very
much a grinded out mucket up win, similar to the
one with the Clippers, where the Lakers will take it.
But it's also concerning that they've had to exert so
(34:30):
much effort just to get in the win column.
Speaker 2 (34:32):
All right, Mike, one more for you. Another team in
the West. There were a lot of questions if Chris
Paul would work and fit in with the Warriors. So
far it seems to be working. Are you surprised or
did you expect this?
Speaker 13 (34:44):
Well, I'm surprised that's been so immediate. I thought that
there would be some natural growing pains of x's and
o's figuring out rotations. But I think that Chris Paul,
he's embraced the bench roll really well. The Warriors Championship
Corps has picked up where they've left off, most notably
Steph Curry on pace to possibly get his third MVP season.
(35:05):
And I think that, you know, a lot of talk
is about last season and how they have much better chemistry,
and they bring up Jordan Poole and yeah, that might
be a thing, but I think the bigger thing is
that they have, you know, more of a veteran presence
around this team with Chris Paul. They're having a point
guard that makes fewer turnovers. His assist a turnover ratio
(35:27):
is out of this world, even for Chris Paul standards.
And you know, talking to Warrior's assistant coach Bruce Fraser
the other day, one of the things that really left
him encourage about this whole dynamic is that Chris Paul
has been a guy that's been trying to be collaborative,
like he wants to learn about, trying to fit in
with the team, learning how to play the Warriors offensive system,
(35:48):
while bringing his own suggestions that the Warriors will entertain
because of his Hall of Fame credentials. But you know,
Bruce Fraser said that he hasn't been over the top
about it, and so I think that that's sometimes goes
against the impression that we have of Chris Paul, where
no one doubts his competitiveness, but sometimes he's a little
bit too overly involved in two extra and so far
(36:10):
that hasn't been the case. I think that's a testament
to him. But I think it's also a testament to
the Warriors that you know, they are a team that
can convince an established player like Chris Paul to buy
in because of their championship success and star power that
they already have.
Speaker 4 (36:23):
Mark, we got to let you go. But I have
one question. Give me a one word answer right now.
Who is your Rookie of the year Victor Ian Banyama
or Chet Holmgren.
Speaker 13 (36:30):
Oh, good question. I have to go with Victor one Banyama.
Speaker 12 (36:35):
Uh.
Speaker 13 (36:35):
I have to give one word answer or else that
explain more.
Speaker 2 (36:39):
Mark, thank you so much for joining us. We so
appreciate all of your NBA insight. Have a great Saturday.
Speaker 13 (36:44):
Thank you to the best, Keep Rockett, thank you.
Speaker 2 (36:47):

for the dues and the don'ts this week in sports.
Speaker 1 (37:18):
This highlight. Oh, I love that. Putting a spotlight on.
Speaker 3 (37:22):
The don't the subject brings me no joy, don't do that?
Speaker 5 (37:26):
Are you on crack?
Speaker 1 (37:27):
It's time for the dues and the don'ts in sports?
Speaker 2 (37:31):
All right, I'm gonna go first, do go to Wiener
Circle if you're in Chicago. I don't know if you
watched the Thursday Night Football segment, there is a place
for hot dogs called Wiener Circle.
Speaker 3 (37:44):
Jason Kelsey went out.
Speaker 2 (37:45):
The Thursday Night Football and went with Andrew Whitworth and
they just had the most incredible interaction with this woman
and the workers. They talk trash to you, you talk
trash back. It was not it was hilarious. It's all
over social media. You can go in walk but yeah,
it's called I like that.
Speaker 5 (38:03):
It's like there's a restaurant called Dick's Last Resort.
Speaker 3 (38:05):
I think, okay then, and it's a hot dog place.
Speaker 5 (38:07):
No, but they talk smack to you.
Speaker 3 (38:08):
Oh this is a hot dog place.
Speaker 5 (38:09):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, I like that. I'm into that. I'm
into it all right, I.
Speaker 4 (38:13):
Got a big don't okay, okay, do not eject one
of the biggest players in the NBA three minutes into
the third quarter.
Speaker 5 (38:20):
Don't do that.
Speaker 4 (38:21):
Don't give him a second technical because he stirred somebody down.
Speaker 5 (38:24):
Do not do that.
Speaker 4 (38:25):
Gianni's Antetokoumpo. On Wednesday, the Bucks played the Pistons. In
the first half, he got a technical because he was
complaining about a missed call. Then three minutes into the
third quarter, he dunks on Isaiah Stewart and just looks
at him like if you look, he stares at him. Yeah,
gets a second technical and is ejected from the game.
Speaker 5 (38:45):
Are you on crack? Like?
Speaker 3 (38:47):
No, this is like when Ego gets to.
Speaker 4 (38:49):
Rep right and it's like, dude, three minutes you don't
have his passion passions? How is this different from like
Steph Curry rocking the baby Like, it's not, it's not.
I can't stand that players are expected to not have passion,
emotion or react.
Speaker 2 (39:06):
We saw it with pointing in the NFL too. It's
like you got, yeah, you can do like all these celebrations.
You can't point right, but.
Speaker 5 (39:12):
He does he get ejected. No, it's like a second technical.
Speaker 4 (39:15):
You have as a ref that is your responsibility to realize.
I can't give this guy a second technical three minutes
into the third quarter in this moment, an eject him
when people have.
Speaker 5 (39:24):
Paid how much to see the Sorry, literally the star.
Speaker 6 (39:28):
Don't do that. That's bad. That's bad.
Speaker 5 (39:30):
That's bad.
Speaker 3 (39:31):
I'll go back to a quick funny dude.
Speaker 2 (39:33):
Okay, the Atlanta Hawks made an only fans promo. Only
Hawks fans know where the real action is.
Speaker 6 (39:41):
And where to get it. It was so good.
Speaker 3 (39:43):
It was catchy, it was cheeky, it was hilarious.
Speaker 2 (39:46):
I laughed, It got everyone's attention, got people talking about it.
Speaker 3 (39:49):
That's what social media is about.
Speaker 5 (39:51):
Yeah, totally, it's about I gotta do.
Speaker 4 (39:53):
Apparently the Utah Jazz wi fi name, like if you're
at a game and you need WiFi, is called Jordan
pushed off from the nineteen ninety eight finals, where barely
you know if you look.
Speaker 5 (40:05):
At it as any push up. I don't know in.
Speaker 4 (40:08):
Today's day, maybe in today's game it would have been called.
Speaker 5 (40:11):
At that time, it was not.
Speaker 4 (40:13):
I don't think he pushed off, but that's the name
of their Wi Fi Jordan pushed Off.
Speaker 5 (40:17):
It's Patty I love it.
Speaker 3 (40:18):
I love it too. Okay, one more.
Speaker 2 (40:20):
Do Otani donated sixty thousand baseball gloves the kids in Japan.
This man is currently recovering from not Tommy John, Tommy
John surgery got or you see all repaired. It's definitely
Tommy John. And he's about to get a half a
billion dollars in free agency. But he is doing what
he can give him back to all the kids. Love
that man, which I love all right. When we come back,

Miss Veterans Day.

Yeah, so Happy Veterans Day to all of our heroes
who served our great country. We love you, we appreciate you,
we are forever in debt to you. And we've got
a great show still our two our hour coming up.
We have NFL Networks Taylor Bishadi joining us at the
bottom of the hour. We're going to keep you updated
on all the college football highlights as they happen. But
there's also a lot of things to note this weekend.
(41:49):
We got players coming back, big names out, guys on
vacation for bye.
Speaker 3 (41:54):
Week team meetings.
Speaker 2 (41:57):
So we're going to run through and uh, what team meeting.
It's a big deal, man, especially when.
Speaker 5 (42:04):
It's like it's not our first one.
Speaker 2 (42:07):
Okay, someone's got feelings over here. We'll get We'll get
to that once we get to that. So let's start
with Kyler Murray is back with the Cardinals. Now, this
is his first game back in almost a year, eleven months.
He's coming off a major knee injury. They're saying he's
looking good in practice, you know, but nothing compares to
(42:31):
the game. There's always going to be a little hesitation,
especially within an ACL injury. Three hundred plus pound men
running right towards you and running towards that knee, they
know it's your weakness. But Kyler spoke and sounded focused
and emotional.
Speaker 14 (42:49):
I just feel like I gained a new level of
resiliency with this. Already felt like had that chip on
my shoulder. You know, never out of anything, never down.
I always feel like I can win anything, but this
kind of when you go through something like this, you
find out really quick about you know who you are
and what you're about. So, like I said, I think
everything happens for a reason.
Speaker 2 (43:06):
These are all the things you want to hear him
say right now, right Yeah. Uh, He's an extremely talented player,
but getting back into game shape, game speed after an
injury takes time. I just hope the Cardinals don't think
he's just gonna swoop in save the season. Have extremely
high expectations.
Speaker 6 (43:27):
Obviously, you don't.
Speaker 2 (43:28):
You're not gonna throw your star quarterback into a game
if he's not one hundred percent healthy.
Speaker 3 (43:32):
But I feel like there.
Speaker 2 (43:32):
Needs to be a little like realistic expectations here.
Speaker 4 (43:37):
Yes, but what I think of with this situation is
not everything you're saying is right, Okay, that you can't
expect him to come back and just be the Kyler
Murray that you want him to be. He's been out
a whole year, a big injury, so like you got
to be patient.
Speaker 5 (43:53):
One hundred pcent.
Speaker 4 (43:54):
I just find his return super interesting because the Cardinals
are in this position where I don't know if maybe
they're looking to get rid of Kyler Murray.
Speaker 5 (44:09):
Jonathan Gannon did not pick Kyler Murray. The current GM
did not pick Kyler Murray.
Speaker 2 (44:16):
They're one in eight, right, they are one in eight
position to be able to draft oh yeah, quarterback. But
we've also heard like a Caleb Williams saying that he's
not gonna he doesn't. They don't want to go to
these places because there is right, there hasn't been a
consistency for greatness.
Speaker 5 (44:37):
Sure, and Caleb.
Speaker 4 (44:38):
Williams, you're slowly seen or I think if I'm a coach,
that people are like looking past Caleb Williams and they're
need at other potential quarterbacks. I mean, like, let's be real,
you don't want to hear that that's not the type
of person you want to come to your team, and
Caleb Williams is.
Speaker 5 (44:52):
Not the only name. Oh no, there's a right, So
let's put aside.
Speaker 3 (44:57):
He's just out of the number one race.
Speaker 4 (45:01):
Right right, right, right, But let's just even put him
to the side. Okay, he doesn't want to go to Arizona.
There are still so many other options that Arizona could have.
Speaker 5 (45:08):
Kyler Murray's contract.
Speaker 3 (45:09):
Is is high, Like you know what, I think.
Speaker 2 (45:12):
Yeah, they to put some like you gotta watch tape
clauses in there and stop right, video games, all of
those things.
Speaker 4 (45:17):
But I I just I find it interesting just because again,
Gannon's not Gannon's guy, not the GMS guy.
Speaker 5 (45:23):
So many changes have been made that.
Speaker 4 (45:26):
I feel like they're probably like, well, you know, we're
gonna throw him in there knowing that he's probably not
gonna be his best self.
Speaker 2 (45:33):
Yet you think this is like kind of like, ah,
if he falls, yes, and he's gone yes.
Speaker 4 (45:38):
And also on the other let's flip the coin the
other way that he does, well, great, win win win, Great,
then somebody will take him. Yeah, so it's a win win,
it's a win win. So I'm looking at this just
from the perspective of like what the Cardinals might be doing.
Speaker 5 (45:53):
For the future, Okay, not necessarily just what Kyler is
gonna do.
Speaker 3 (45:58):
I don't think he's his future is necessarily there.
Speaker 2 (46:02):
I mean there has been some mad drama, like with
the social media stuff before he got the contract. Its
just it hasn't been a fluid at all easy relationship.
Speaker 5 (46:12):
No, no, no, no, not at all.
Speaker 4 (46:14):
And I'm really I'm just like, I wonder the approach
that the Cardinals are gonna take with this.
Speaker 3 (46:19):
Yeah, well we're gonna find out tomorrow.
Speaker 5 (46:22):
Yeah. Yeah, But I'm not expecting him to you know, I.
Speaker 2 (46:26):
Think that's a realistic expectation for sure, right Like to
knee injury, A ye're gone a year our like, and
cats are gonna be weird. Like I said, these like
giant men running towards.
Speaker 7 (46:38):
You and I don't care what you're doing.
Speaker 3 (46:40):
Very different.
Speaker 5 (46:41):
It's not the same at all.
Speaker 3 (46:43):
Another thing to watch out for this weekend.
Speaker 2 (46:46):
Yes, we have players coming back, but we're also missing
a lot of key players.
Speaker 3 (46:50):
Bengals are going to be missing some top targets.
Speaker 2 (46:53):
They're a little beat up. T Higgins is officially out.
Jamar Chase is questionable, soar back even if he does
go out there. He's not gonna be one hundred percent
shoot him.
Speaker 5 (47:05):
If he goes out there, he won't feel anything.
Speaker 2 (47:06):
Oh yeah, which means but he's also going to get
a higher workload and more targets because that, Yeah, Haggins
is out right. They're also missing Sam Hubbard their defensive end,
and they're playing a hot CJ. Stroud in the Texans
this weekend. Now, Burrow and Bangs have won four or like,
won their last four four straight and CG is coming
(47:27):
off a career game. Yeah, an insane. This could be
a really interesting one where like last week you would
have been like, ah, maybe this is gonna be more
of a blowout situation, but with the Bangals missing some
key guys, could be a little closer than anything.
Speaker 3 (47:43):
Yeah, I don't think it's gonna be like.
Speaker 4 (47:46):
I do think it's gonna be a lot closer. And
and also another factor is, like you you just also
beat the forty nine ers, Like there's other things you know,
and you do have to take every week individually. I
know that, Yeah, but it's impossible to not think that
you won in a row. Five in row is hard,
and then you just beat the forty nine ers, A
big win. You beat the Bills, a big win, Like
(48:07):
it almost seems that with being you know, without te
Higgins possibly Jamar Chase, it's like it's it's a perfect
like route for the Texans to get a W out
of this, right, Like it's crazy to think, yep, but
it's not.
Speaker 5 (48:20):
It's not because of the situation.
Speaker 2 (48:22):
So I'm saying something to watch out for this weekend,
something to keep your eye on. Another fun thing that
will slowly be taking over your social media feeds starting
last night to today is Travis Kelce is an Argentina
at Taylor's Swift show during the bye week. Now, I
guess people are like upset about this. I don't I
(48:44):
don't understand. It's his bye week, and it is so
important to take time to disconnect for a moment from
something that you have focused one hundred percent of your
time on. In sports, I remember talking to like his
pitchers in baseball. It's an all mental it's like a
one like mental thing and they're going through a slump
and all of a sudden, take Blake Snell just like
(49:07):
turned his season around. I only talked to him. It's
like what happened. He's like, I just stopped thinking about it.
I went and played golf, I went and like played
video games, Like sometimes you just need to completely disconnect
to get back on track. And yeah, they were already
out to dinner last night. Videos everywhere, going to the show,
going to the show. I think it's tonight because I
(49:27):
got postponed last night due to weather. No, no, really,
you've been singing Taylor Swift all morning.
Speaker 5 (49:34):
No, I know, but I don't know if the concert
was canceled, That's what I mean.
Speaker 6 (49:37):
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (49:37):
Yeah, she posted that she loves the Rain Show, but
this is dangerous postponed.
Speaker 4 (49:42):
And it's not even that Travis kelcey needs to like
shake anything off anything like that. But he has been
better when she's around, right, So it's like significantly bad
his numbers double. Yeah, it's crazy double. But I you know,
it's so funny when people are because I also remember
people being mad that Zach Wilson took his like girlfriends
somewhere for like a vacation during there by week, and
(50:03):
it's like you need to separate. And also, like traveling
for Travis Kelcey is not like traveling for the rest
of us people.
Speaker 3 (50:09):
No, his girlfriend has a private private plane, private plane.
Speaker 5 (50:11):
He's probably gonna sleep on the plane.
Speaker 4 (50:13):
He's probably laying out like it's not the way traveling
to Argentina for a normal person actually is. Like he's
not going to the airport sitting in line waiting three
hours to hop on a plane.
Speaker 3 (50:23):
It's not like that.
Speaker 4 (50:25):
It's a lot more easier for him to do this
and actually enjoy himself and come back relaxed, refreshed. And
you know, did you see the latest story that apparently
he wants to marry her and he wants to have
babies with her.
Speaker 3 (50:38):
I mean, these are swifties.
Speaker 5 (50:40):
I love it.
Speaker 2 (50:40):
There's crazy things that are gonna come out just just no,
but I love it.
Speaker 3 (50:44):
Enjoy young line.
Speaker 5 (50:44):
I love it so much.
Speaker 3 (50:45):
Enjoy Yeah, you're swifty. Yeah, enjoy the young love.
Speaker 6 (50:48):
All right.
Speaker 3 (50:48):
Another thing to look out for this weekend. The Bills
had a player's.
Speaker 2 (50:52):
Only meeting coming off of this tough loss to the Bengals.
Now want to come down to this. You have to
wonder how bad is it with the coaching staff that
you need them out of the room and they need
to just talk to get stuff out. And the Bills
play the Broncos Monday night, football game. Bills are two
and two in primetime this year. Broncos are ower and
one in primetime this year. They should be able to
(51:16):
get this. But did I just hear did we just
have an update that the Bills are missing.
Speaker 6 (51:20):
A star player?
Speaker 5 (51:21):
Know that he didn't go to practice.
Speaker 3 (51:22):
He didn't go to practice.
Speaker 5 (51:23):
Yes, Stefan Digs practice wasn't at practice. He's gonna play.
There's no report that he's not playing.
Speaker 3 (51:32):
It just doesn't feel like everybody's on the same page.
Speaker 5 (51:34):
What did I say weeks ago?
Speaker 4 (51:37):
I've said there is some sort of tension that I
think has just built up over like the last couple
of years, You know what I mean.
Speaker 5 (51:45):
It's like Stefan.
Speaker 4 (51:46):
Diggs just caught a touchdown last game or two games ago.
He ran over like a camera guy accidentally. Yeah, but
he like kind of snapped out the camera guy. And
I don't think that's Sisfon Diggs's style, But I think
he's frustrated, even in a good moment.
Speaker 6 (52:00):
We see it.
Speaker 5 (52:01):
There's tideline, right, you see.
Speaker 4 (52:03):
Him when he throws the helmet, and like Josh Allen
pretends to not see him.
Speaker 5 (52:07):
They're all frustrated.
Speaker 4 (52:08):
Now this is the second players meeting, which.
Speaker 5 (52:11):
Is why I don't care.
Speaker 4 (52:12):
This was only offense, though the first one was the
entire team. I just want to know why is Josh
Allen not leading this? Why does it have to be
Latavius Murray who just showed up in Buffalo. I understand
that he is a veteran player and has been around
the league and has probably motivational things to say.
Speaker 3 (52:30):
Because he noticed something was wrong.
Speaker 5 (52:32):
But you are the face of the Buffalo Bills. You
need to take charge. Sometimes you need a veteran guy
to do that.
Speaker 2 (52:38):
Like, hey, I've been a lot of places. This ain't
it so that this isn't how you do it.
Speaker 4 (52:42):
So let me tell you nothing's gonna change. If your
leader is not taking charge.
Speaker 3 (52:47):
It just could be a wake up call for him.
Maybe he needs practice.
Speaker 5 (52:51):
This worked out real well.
Speaker 4 (52:53):
I know, I I just I've seen it off I
also I also think that like the Bill aside from Diggs,
Gabe Davis is great, but I feel like the Bills
don't have as many offensive weapons as other teams. And
I mentioned it, Josh Allen puts a lot on his shoulders.
He puts too much pressure on himself and then he
(53:14):
doesn't execute when it matters. But it's like I feel
like he's like, all right, I've digs and then what
I just feel like that, like they're all just frustrated
with each other. And it's not that they don't like
each other, it's just built up frustration over the last
few years. And it's like, I don't know how you
snap that.
Speaker 3 (53:35):
I don't either.
Speaker 2 (53:35):
And this Monday night game with all of that happening
this week, I mean, like the Bills are Bills are
five and four, Broncos are three and five, but.
Speaker 5 (53:46):
They're lucky it's the Broncos that they're playing.
Speaker 3 (53:49):
I don't know.
Speaker 5 (53:50):
Man, Oh now you're on the Broncos.
Speaker 2 (53:53):
I'm just saying, when when stuff's not going your way
till you're not on the same page, you're having player meetings,
you're start you make a good point. Offensive weapon is
not showing up to practice after the player's only meeting.
Speaker 3 (54:05):
This is just something to keep an eye on this week.
Speaker 5 (54:07):
Yeah, and the Broncos are probably seeing that to each other. Guys,
we've got this. Yeah, this a mess. They're a mess.
Speaker 3 (54:13):
We're a miss right now.
Speaker 5 (54:14):
We like each other.
Speaker 3 (54:15):
I told you, just something to watch out for.
Speaker 6 (54:18):
Listen, watch out.
Speaker 2 (54:19):
For all right, all right, we're gonna take a quick
break here. Why you always need a.
Speaker 3 (54:24):
Solid backup plan. That's next. You're listening to Fox Sports
Radio to.
Speaker 10 (54:29):
Quin the Jackson blown back of the backfield.
Speaker 6 (54:32):
Three receivers to the left.
Speaker 1 (54:34):
Barnes turns and hands it to.
Speaker 10 (54:36):
Jackson to the five, to the four, to the three,
to the two.
Speaker 6 (54:39):
He gets to the He's in. He's in.
Speaker 1 (54:42):
Second effort gets to quick the Jackson in.
Speaker 4 (54:46):
You just heard Bill Riley from Learfield as number eighteen
Utah is beating number five Washington at halftime, twenty eight
to twenty four. Close one, but we still got a
whole other half to go, got a.
Speaker 3 (54:58):
Lot of time to go.
Speaker 2 (55:00):
You're listening to Fox Sports Saturday and Alex Curry here
with Monty Beilanios. We are broadcasting live from tyreck dot
com studios in Los Angeles.
Speaker 9 (55:07):
Now.
Speaker 2 (55:07):
At the top of the show, I mentioned to tweet
an us xatas x x US.
Speaker 6 (55:12):
I don't know, I don't even know. It's still gonna
be tweet for me.
Speaker 5 (55:15):
Tweet us on X, tweet us on X.
Speaker 3 (55:18):
I just want to give a couple of shout outs.
Speaker 2 (55:20):
Yeah, first to sports Q for info as a veteran
who served, Thank you so much for that sentiment.
Speaker 3 (55:26):
It was an honor to serve my country.
Speaker 2 (55:28):
Honored to serve those men and women who gave the
ultimate sacrifice in service to our country. So shout out there.
Another one is David six point eighty. I'm listening right now.
I enjoy the show.
Speaker 5 (55:41):
Thank you getting paid today? What's up ladies?
Speaker 2 (55:44):
Hope you all day is going beautifully And then we
have uh little big Man seven Monsey is Radio Gold.
Speaker 3 (55:52):
Get a cue, Thank you girl, Well some the pump
you up.
Speaker 5 (55:55):
Yeah, so there we got appreciate remember, appreciate it.
Speaker 3 (55:58):
Yeah at us at ALEX.
Speaker 2 (56:00):
Understood us at us.
Speaker 3 (56:04):
At ALEX underscore Curry.
Speaker 2 (56:06):
We'll give you a little shout out on the show.
That's right, Okay, you guys, Let's get back to some football. Okay, okay,
because I got a question for you. Did the Jets
mess up not getting a quarterback when Aaron Rodgers went down? Now,
we all had our doubts, right when the Jets announced
(56:26):
that Zach Wilson would be their starting quarterback once Aaron
Rodgers tour his achilles, and last weekend's performance should have
been what made you realize he is a backup quarterback
right Wilson versus charges on Monday Night Football.
Speaker 3 (56:42):
Zero touchdowns.
Speaker 5 (56:43):
But you know what, I actually didn't think he played that.
Speaker 2 (56:45):
Back three fumbles, lost two of them, sixteenth in passer rating,
and his coach, Robert Sala, had some words to say
after that.
Speaker 1 (56:57):
Was this a step back for Zach?
Speaker 15 (56:58):
Robert, I don't know if you could say step back.
You know, there's like I said, there's it's all encompassing.
Speaker 13 (57:04):
You know.
Speaker 15 (57:04):
Obviously he's gonna want some things that he wishes he
could have done better. It's just a little bit of everything.
It's just one of those bizarre games. It's just every
time we had momentum, like I said, just a self
inflicted wound wound. Was it his best game? Obviously not.
Was it his worst game? No, I'm not going to
say it was even close to his worst game. But
I think the entire offense, obviously we all could have
(57:25):
been better.
Speaker 4 (57:26):
I agree there were so much moments bad and it
wasn't your worst, And he's not lying.
Speaker 2 (57:32):
His Week two loss of the Cowboys was gnarly. It
was ugly of forty four completion percentage, three interceptions, a
thirty eight point one passer rating one touchdown.
Speaker 3 (57:44):
I just it's tough, like Zach Wilson.
Speaker 2 (57:49):
They have such a good defense, right the Jets, and
they have great weapons, which is why they are winning games.
But Zack Wilson is not your answer. Yeah, He's not
your answer. And if they went out and pulled the
move like the Vikings did get a Josh Dobbs, maybe they.
Speaker 6 (58:09):
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (58:09):
It's just I I think they made a mistake.
Speaker 4 (58:12):
Before we move on to the amazing thing that is
Josh Dobbs. Yeah, I think that the problem with Zach
Wilson here we are, because you know, I've kind of
like been I've been supporting him from the beginning. Is
when he he has great moments, but when you're inconsistent,
it's tough for your team to kind of catch every
(58:33):
ball because they just don't know what you're gonna throw,
like you know, like it's that's what's tough about it.
Speaker 5 (58:36):
But I don't think he I know you read those numbers.
To me, that was not his worst game.
Speaker 4 (58:41):
And I agree with Robert Sala and it was just
kind of like, man, there were moments where like you
had it bad.
Speaker 2 (58:45):
It was, but that's bad if that's not your worst game,
and you've had worse. And this is your starting guy.
This is what you're depending on to bring you and
get you to the playoffs, the most important position on
the team and on the field.
Speaker 5 (58:59):
But there moments in that shit make you a backup.
Speaker 3 (59:03):
You're not that wrong where you should be like, this
is a backup quarterback.
Speaker 2 (59:06):
That's just exact we go to when our star goes down,
not who is going to be our shine. They very
publicly admitted that he was not the guy last year
and went all in to go get Aaron Rodgers.
Speaker 6 (59:19):
And then when.
Speaker 2 (59:19):
Rogers went down, like no, no, no, no, he's our guy,
He's got it.
Speaker 4 (59:22):
No, yeah, no, And what just happened with Josh Dobbs
doesn't help any team that is like, oh you nobody
can learn an offense quick.
Speaker 2 (59:33):
So the Vikings picked up Josh Dobbs. He had zero
snaps in practice, didn't even know everybody's name on the team,
went out there and won on a game winning drive.
Speaker 4 (59:45):
And you know, did you hear that he was told
he was on a podcast like after the fact, and
he said that he was literally told in the face,
we're not by the Arizona Cardinals. We're not going to
train you. You're not going anywhere. You're not gonna play
this week, Kyler mrazy, but you're not going anywhere.
Speaker 5 (01:00:02):
Like to his face.
Speaker 4 (01:00:03):
And then two days later they traded him. So when
I heard this, I was like, that's right, Joshua Dobbs,
you're the man. Yeah, despite being told this a couple
of days ago, hopping on a flight landing in Minnesota.
Five days later, they're like, you're in because this guy's injured,
and he's like, I'm sorry.
Speaker 6 (01:00:18):
Who yep? What me?
Speaker 16 (01:00:19):
Me?
Speaker 5 (01:00:20):
Okay, all right? You saw them off to the side.
Speaker 4 (01:00:23):
He had to practice his cadence of how like literally
he had nothing, but what what he had is just
natural skill of a quarterback that you can't teach. Also,
apparently he's like super smart, like a rocket scientist, super
super smart. So it's like he didn't know anybody, but
he knows I gotta throw the bottle that guy or
that guy they're wearing the same color as I am like,
(01:00:45):
that's all.
Speaker 3 (01:00:45):
I mean, it's not this week.
Speaker 2 (01:00:46):
I'm very curious to see how he does after a
full week with this new team, knowing the system. As
you mentioned, smart guy's gonna pick it up fast. Clearly,
you're gonna get to know your teammates, get to know
the coaches, get to know the playbook, like the system.
I it's it was incredible.
Speaker 4 (01:01:04):
Incredible, And I also think like, wow, the Vikings were
in a position where they probably were like, is Justin
Jefferson gonna come back?
Speaker 5 (01:01:12):
Do we want to do that? We lost Kirk Cousins.
Speaker 4 (01:01:15):
Do we want to you know, put him out there
maybe he gets hurt, or do we want to take
the rest of the season easy. Now you're like, oh, well,
Justin Jefferson get out there.
Speaker 6 (01:01:23):
Look at this guy.
Speaker 5 (01:01:24):
Look at this guy.
Speaker 4 (01:01:25):
It's so crazy how in one moment I think the
mentality for the Vikings changed. I did like, Joshua Dobbs,
you are freaking amazing. I could not get over that game.
I was just like, is everybody.
Speaker 5 (01:01:38):
Watching this game, like what is happening?
Speaker 3 (01:01:41):
Well, that's what you do.
Speaker 2 (01:01:42):
That's when your starter goes down, you go out and
you get another guy.
Speaker 14 (01:01:47):
Right.
Speaker 4 (01:01:48):
And even though Arizona's you know, overall record is not great,
he was playing well. He was doing what he needed
to do for Arizona from the beginning. And it's just
so incredible that it's like all of this like, oh,
you can't pick up somebody to come run your offense.
They're not going to learn it. He proves everybody.
Speaker 3 (01:02:03):
Wrong, wrong, wrong.
Speaker 2 (01:02:05):
Let me show you also, chip on my shoulder that
because you told me you weren't gonna trade me and
here I am on another two of my face two
days later. All right, let me show you. So, yeah,
that should be interesting. We all saw the Rams pick
up Carson Wentz this week and they have a record
of like revamping players careers. Maybe they can help one another.
So yeah, this is what you do when you're dying down.
(01:02:25):
You go out and you get something.
Speaker 5 (01:02:27):
Some just make a move, may make a move.
Speaker 3 (01:02:30):
Get someone something. All right, now, let's check in with
Martin to see what's trending.
Speaker 12 (01:02:36):
Thank you right now. College football scores in progress right
on Florida State at halftime, number fourteen in the nation,
tied up with Miami tenipiece number five, Washington trailing number
eighteen Utah twenty eight to twenty four. Of that game,
also at halftime, and see the remainder of it on
Fox TV. Number fourteenth th rank, Missouri nineteen over number
(01:02:57):
thirteenth orrank Tennessee. They have seven right now early in
the third quarter and fifteenth r inc Oklahoma State. They
have the ball third and goal right now with ten
forty left in the third quarter. But that's the least
of their worries is They're down twenty four to nothing
just a week after beating Oklahoma. Now twenty four to
nothing to UCF Colorado right now, let's see, I gotta
scroll down to the bottle for this one.
Speaker 6 (01:03:18):
This game just ended.
Speaker 12 (01:03:19):
Yep, Colorado loses again in the Pac twelve. They're one
and six. They fall to number twenty one Arizona thirty
four to thirty one. So there you go with coach
Frank four and six on the year for the Colorado Buffalo.
In the NFL, Cincinnati Bengals receiver t Higgins ruled out
for Tomorrow's game against Houston with the hamstring. Jamar Chase
still on the injury report with his back injury listed
(01:03:40):
as questionable. Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray makes his first start
on Sunday, he toy tacl eleven months ago. Cardinals also
activating running back James Conner off of injury reserve. San
Francisco forty nine ers Pride receiver Deebo Samuel suffered a
hairline shoulder fracture three weeks ago. He's expected to play
on Sunday. Left tackle Trent William is still real questionable,
(01:04:02):
says coach Kyle Shanahan, for their matchup against Jacksonville. The
Troy Lions running back David Montgomery, he missed the last
two games with the rib. He set to return and
will split carries with Jamir Gibbs and Sunday's matchup against
the Chargers. And Justin Jefferson for Josh Dobbs, as you
we just were talking about. I'm sure he knew his
name prior to walking in there, but it didn't help
because Justin Jefferson wasn't playing. He won't be playing tomorrow either.
(01:04:23):
He's still not activated from that hamstring injury. Even though
he cleared injury.
Speaker 5 (01:04:27):
Research Fannessy team is not happy about that much.
Speaker 12 (01:04:29):
Well, I'm sorry, Josh Dobbs in real life probably unhappy
about it either.
Speaker 6 (01:04:33):
Back to you guys, Thank you.
Speaker 12 (01:04:35):
Martin.
Speaker 2 (01:04:35):
You're listening to Fox Sports Saturday. I am Alex Curry
here with Monty Beilanios. We are broadcasting live from the
Tyrek dot Com studios in Los Angeles, and it is
time for our next guest who knows everything going on
in the NFL. Has you covered on all the breaking stories?
Please give it up for NFL Networks. Taylor Bashati, who
also has the best game day fits and snacks all
(01:04:57):
over her social media.
Speaker 16 (01:04:58):
Hi girl, are you so good?
Speaker 5 (01:05:01):
Thank you for joining us.
Speaker 2 (01:05:02):
We're doing great, Taylor. We love having you here. Now
you've spent a good amount of time with the Cardinals.
They're getting Kyler Murray back this weekend. What are realistic
expectations for Kyler Gosh?
Speaker 16 (01:05:15):
I mean, I think that look at how we ended
this season last year, he was playing great football. Now
he's got a new head coach under Jonathan Gannon. James
Connor's coming back this week. I think you're going to
see a much improved Cardinals offense. That being said, it's
probably going to take them a little bit of time
to get running around the field like we were seeing
last season, But it's only going up from here all right.
Speaker 2 (01:05:36):
Now, there's a lot of talk around the Cardinals if
they have a high draft pick, are they going to
go for like a Caleb Williams, a Drake May? What
does Kyler have to do? This season to show that
he's still the guy.
Speaker 16 (01:05:51):
I think you just have to play as well as
he was playing last year. I mean, if you were
called even under Cliff Peinsburg, he was having some crazy
comeback wins fourth quarter where he looked like just the
most athletic human on the field in every game that
he was playing. I think that's all he has to do.
And I think that, you know, he obviously got that
(01:06:11):
big contract last year, and then there was a lot
of talk about him and gaming, I know, the World
or one of those big World of Warcraft games. Yeah out, yeah,
two days before he's acting, which is hysterical, but yeah,
I mean, I think he's gotten a little bit of
to me just from that a little bit. He's around
(01:06:33):
his teammates, he's putting the work in. He's seems all
in on Jonathan Gannon. You heard him talking on the
podium on Friday. I think it was where he was saying,
we see eye to eye, we see things the same way.
He's passionate about football. He sees you know, we're on
the same page, it seems like. And that's more than
I could say that he was really saying about Cliff
when they were together. So it already seems like they're
(01:06:53):
starting off on a good boat. Tomorrow is going to
be really telling to see where they how they do.
I have them winning them all.
Speaker 4 (01:07:00):
Right, Okay, all right, so you think the Cardinals are
on the same page, The Buffalo Bills are not on.
Speaker 5 (01:07:06):
The same page.
Speaker 4 (01:07:07):
The second t R players only meaning that we just
heard about, led by Latavius Murray. They are in a
position they've never been in since Josh Allen showed up.
If the playoffs started today, they would not be in
the playoffs? Do you think so crazy?
Speaker 5 (01:07:22):
Yes? Is it? Do they still have time to turn
things around?
Speaker 16 (01:07:26):
They definitely have to turn things around. It's not they're
not clicking on offense. Defense is really where I think
that we overlook. They've had two key defensive injuries. Arguably
they're two best players on defense. Obviously they still have
Von Miller. He's old now though, so a lot of
the area. They've lost two of their best key defenders,
(01:07:49):
and then things really aren't clicking for them on offense.
They've got Stefan Diggs, but then other than that, who
is their number two receiver? They really don't have a
solid number two. Yes, Josh turns the ball over, but
that's really not a big issue in my opinion. I
think that they definitely need to get their run game going,
you know. I ended that Sean mcderm's been asked about
his play caller and Ken dor Sye a bunch, but
(01:08:09):
he said that he's sticking by him. I don't disagree
with that decision. I don't know if there's anybody else
in the building that could necessarily do a better job
than what he is doing. I also just think that
we're holding the Bills to a really high standard as
we should. I mean, they have now is the time
that they should be winning. But the season is long,
there's still eight weeks left. I still think they can
get it together and I definitely can darning to be
a playoff team.
Speaker 2 (01:08:30):
All right, Well, it feels like it's all coming together
for the Ravens this season. First in AFC probably the
toughest division right.
Speaker 16 (01:08:37):
Now, the toughest division. You know what's crazy is that
if the playoffs were to start today, all four, all
four teams in that division would be in the playoffs.
Speaker 3 (01:08:44):
That's crazy. I mean, the AFC North is the toughest division.
Speaker 2 (01:08:47):
Is this the season that Lamar and the Ravens can
finally make a real, like Super Bowl run.
Speaker 16 (01:08:52):
It looks like it, and again, the season is long.
So the season started off where you're thinking, gosh, they
ended last year and they were one of the most
like snake bitten teams in the league with injuries, and
then Week one, Week two, it just was injury after
injury after injury, and you're like, what is going on here?
They just can't seem to catch a break in terms
of injuries. But yet again, John Harball finds a way
(01:09:13):
to work with what he has, work with players that
weren't even on the active roster a couple of weeks ago,
and pull them up and find ways to win the game.
Lamar is playing probably as well as he was his
MVP year, and so right now it does it feels
that way. But I think the Bengals are another team
that's also very scary right now that needs to fully
(01:09:34):
be coming together. Since Joe Burrow's unhealthy, They've gone they
wont fll straight games. They seem to really be clicking.
And then we also have the Browns. Now that Deshaun
Watson's back from his shoulder injury. They knocked the Cardinals
out last week. Really didn't even give them a chance.
I think they had like fifty yards of offense. I
(01:09:54):
mean it was crazy. So that Brown's defense is really
good at Miles Garrett. All four of those teams are
seem like they're I mean, besides the Steelers. I don't
necessarily think the Steelers have really found their rhythm, but
they still find a way to some I mean win
win the game. But more so Brown Spangles than Bravens
(01:10:15):
do seem to really be gelling right now. I think
that at this point in the season, it just comes
down to who can stay healthy, who can avoid big injuries,
and so yeah, I mean it's probably the most exciting
division I think in football.
Speaker 4 (01:10:30):
A little biased, but yeah, yeah, that's fine from from
exciting to disappointing.
Speaker 5 (01:10:35):
And I'm talking about my Chargers tailor.
Speaker 4 (01:10:37):
Like on paper, they have all these big names side
of the ball, offensive side of the ball, and yet
I feel like they keep making like stupid mental mistakes,
like they're not disciplined. And I hate to blame the coach,
but is it the coach why they're not disciplined?
Speaker 16 (01:10:54):
I mean, at some point you have to write it
just seems like they are making maschae. And then some
of the play calls even this season have been quequestionable
at the end of games. And then another thing that
I mean not putting it all on Brandon Stey, because
I do think he's a fantastic coach, but he's a
defensive mind, and it just seems like the first, you know,
six weeks of the season, it was their defense that
(01:11:17):
was really struggling and they looked like they were not gelling.
It's frustrating to watch those games. It's frustrating to cover
those games, especially when you're running from sideline to sideline
in the fourth quarter of three minutes left every single
every single week, going back and forth because you just
don't know who's gonna win. It always seems to come
down to that final three minutes, final five minutes in
the fourth quarter. But yeah, it's it just does not
(01:11:40):
feel like it's their year, even though it should be.
Look at all the weapons they have on defense, look
at all the weapons they have on offense. I feel
Herbert as the quarterback.
Speaker 2 (01:11:48):
Since they've gotten Herbert, like you should be good, you
should is your year. Maybe it's just and they just
like come short.
Speaker 4 (01:11:54):
They charger the Chargers, Charger the charger, are you, Yeah,
like the Clippers Clippers Chargers charger.
Speaker 16 (01:12:00):
Way to lose a game.
Speaker 6 (01:12:02):
Yes, I've heard it with the Chargers.
Speaker 2 (01:12:04):
Oh okay, all right, Taylor, We're halfway through the season.
We did our mid season report cards today, so I
want to know who your biggest surprise this season has been?
Speaker 6 (01:12:15):
Good or bad?
Speaker 16 (01:12:15):
Hmm, that's it. You know. I had always circled the
Texans that you know, every year there's a team that
goes from worst to first in their division. And after
the Texans draft, I mean, it was the Texans. So
you can't really say, oh, gosh, I was expecting this
to happen. I wasn't expecting this to happen, except they
have been a big surprise for me, just and how
(01:12:37):
quickly they've gotten together. Niko Ryan's obviously coming from the
forty nine ers with such a great defensive coordinator, it's
no surprise that he's a great head coach. And then
c J. Stroud has just been off the charts outstanding
year so far, So I would say they're my biggest surprise.
Speaker 2 (01:13:00):
Are all on the same page, Yeah, yeah, Monsey had
the Texan.
Speaker 4 (01:13:04):
Right for the most improved because just like you just said,
I wasn't expecting.
Speaker 5 (01:13:07):
This, Jay Shroud.
Speaker 6 (01:13:09):
Yeah yeah, do.
Speaker 16 (01:13:10):
You think that normally, Like, I mean, it takes some time,
you would take those rookies to develop and then get
acclimated with a new coach, especially when the whole team
is under a new head coach. But they seem to
be getting it together pretty quickly.
Speaker 2 (01:13:23):
Yeah, okay, well when lucky for us, we had so
much football left. All right, I know, a whole other season. Okay,
let's do the opposite end. Who's been like your biggest
disappointment so far this season?
Speaker 16 (01:13:38):
No, I mean maybe the Raiders.
Speaker 2 (01:13:41):
Yeah, hot mess? Yeah, hot mess, hot mess. I mean yeah,
Falcons are a.
Speaker 16 (01:13:46):
Bit of a hot mess. The Panthers are a hot mess.
The two games we saw, I mean the two teams
you saw on the game Thursday night, We're a hot mess.
Speaker 3 (01:13:55):
Yea all hot mess.
Speaker 2 (01:13:58):
Taylor, thank you so much for coming on and joining us.
We need to get sunset drinks soon.
Speaker 16 (01:14:04):
Yes please, hopefully I'll see you this weekend.
Speaker 5 (01:14:06):
Yeah, done deal, all right, have a great day, honey,
I'll see later.
Speaker 16 (01:14:09):
Thanks for having me, guys, of course, all.
Speaker 2 (01:14:11):
Right, we're gonna take a quick break here when we
come back, Montena are giving some NFL picks.
Speaker 3 (01:14:15):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 10 (01:14:18):
From the eighth and the give is to Harvey's across
the ten fifteen R twenty He's free, twenty five thirty
go RJ thirty.
Speaker 5 (01:14:24):
Five, forty forty five to fifty.
Speaker 12 (01:14:26):
He's got room to the forty thirty five thirty twenty five,
twenty fifteen ten five touchdown harp day Harvey ninety two yards.
Speaker 5 (01:14:35):
Boom, boom. That was ninety six point nine in the game.
It is a down poor going on right now.
Speaker 3 (01:14:45):
Yeah, downpour.
Speaker 2 (01:14:46):
There's a point where we couldn't even see the players
on the field.
Speaker 3 (01:14:48):
Now, I was coming down so hard.
Speaker 5 (01:14:49):
But you CF is like, hold my beer. This doesn't
bother me.
Speaker 4 (01:14:53):
They are currently beating number fifteen Oklahoma State thirty one
to three.
Speaker 5 (01:14:58):
Yikes, halfway through the third.
Speaker 3 (01:15:00):
Blowout yeah, blowout.
Speaker 4 (01:15:02):
Yeah, And usually we could say there's a lot of
game left, but not in this situation.
Speaker 2 (01:15:07):
They got like six thirty left in the third and
a whole other quarter.
Speaker 3 (01:15:11):
You just you got to like have some sort.
Speaker 2 (01:15:13):
Of like like coming to we need to turn things around.

one right in front of us on right now.
Speaker 9 (01:15:38):
Now.
Speaker 4 (01:15:39):
I don't know how you play football and basically any
weather except if it's lightning, what football you play it?
Speaker 5 (01:15:46):
No matter what it can it's snowing, well.
Speaker 3 (01:15:48):
You can't do anything in lightning. Lightning.
Speaker 2 (01:15:49):
You have to like vacate the area for thirty minutes
without any lightning strike and then you can come back.
Speaker 4 (01:15:55):
But that's crazy to me when I see the rain
like this, or where I see like the ground is
white of snow and you're still playing, Like that's so crazy.
Speaker 3 (01:16:03):
That was my favorite time to play soccer.
Speaker 2 (01:16:04):
Like, I absolutely loved monsoon games because I'm a slight tackler,
take people out and I was like, whoa coming in
a baby?
Speaker 6 (01:16:13):
It was my favorite.
Speaker 2 (01:16:14):
All right, you're listening to Fox Sports Saturday, Alex care
here with Monty biloonnials. You're broadcasting life from Tire dot
Com Studios in Los Angeles, and it is time for
our NFL Game Picks producer Brandon Ready to lead us through.
Speaker 6 (01:16:24):
Yes, I am and Alex. You actually gained some ground.
Speaker 3 (01:16:27):
Off, Okay, so we gotta do this.
Speaker 2 (01:16:29):
Take out those two weeks that I was gone, because
it doesn't count. That wasn't me picking. If you do
you have any crying babies. If I take out those
two weeks, what is our record? Because it's me versus Moncey.
Speaker 6 (01:16:42):
I'll have to update you that on next week.
Speaker 2 (01:16:44):
Next week, okay, So next week, take out the two
weeks I was gone because you can't have someone sub
in for the full final thing.
Speaker 5 (01:16:50):
It's not fair, thank you. It's got to be fair,
and that ain't fair. We're all about fairness here.
Speaker 11 (01:16:56):
Oh well, in all fairness, you went three and one
last week and Monsey went one in three.
Speaker 5 (01:17:01):
That's right, So Alex.
Speaker 11 (01:17:02):
Nineteen and thirteen on the year pending, Yeah, Penn and
Monsey twenty two and ten.
Speaker 5 (01:17:07):
Gotcha?
Speaker 3 (01:17:07):
All right?
Speaker 6 (01:17:08):
Well, so let's move on to this week.
Speaker 3 (01:17:09):
Okay.
Speaker 11 (01:17:09):
We got the forty nine ers on the road against
the Jaguars. Forty nine Ers are favored by three in
this one. Alex will start with you, okay.
Speaker 2 (01:17:17):
I mean they're both coming off their bye weeks. Jags
have won five straight, forty nine Ers have lost three straight,
but Debos expected to be back. For me, this feels
like I went back and forth on this one. This
feels like a bounce back, desperate need win game for
the forty nine ers. So I'm gonna take San Francisco here.
Speaker 5 (01:17:36):
This was hard for you to decide. Yeah, really, I
have the forty nine ers. I just there's no way,
there's no way.
Speaker 4 (01:17:43):
Well, the forty nine ers don't come back stronger after
a bye, after losing three in a row. There's and
this is nothing against the Jags, you know what I'm saying,
Like they have they have been great.
Speaker 3 (01:17:55):
But but Trevor Lawrence has been great.
Speaker 2 (01:17:58):
And this is in Jacksonville, and that means it's gonna
be like a ten am start time for the forty
nine ers when you're back home again. I'm like contradicting
myself on things here, but I'm picking the forty nine ers.
Speaker 5 (01:18:12):
Yeah, I'm taking the forty nine ers too. Yeah, for sure.
Speaker 11 (01:18:14):
Fine, we have the Detroit Lions. Chris profets Detroit Lions.
On the road against Moncey's Chargers.
Speaker 5 (01:18:21):
It's not really a road game.
Speaker 6 (01:18:25):
Yeah, all right, Lions are favored by three. Monci will
start with you on this one.
Speaker 5 (01:18:30):
This one. I'm I'm torn.
Speaker 4 (01:18:32):
I am legit torn because, as I've said, the Chargers charge,
they're up, they're up at halftime, and then they find
a way to lose.
Speaker 6 (01:18:42):
Gotta get out.
Speaker 4 (01:18:42):
The Lions have been a consistently solid team.
Speaker 5 (01:18:50):
I'm taking the Lions.
Speaker 3 (01:18:52):
How much did that hurt a lot?
Speaker 6 (01:18:54):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (01:18:55):
A lot?
Speaker 5 (01:18:55):
But I'm taking the Lions.
Speaker 2 (01:18:57):
Gosh, Okay, we're Samsey's right now. I mean Lions, and
they've got Montgommery back. They're three and one on the road.
Chargers are one and three against winning teams. Yeah, I'm
taking I'm taking the Lions here. I'm feeling pretty good
about the Lions. I h I bet on them in
Vegas with the start of the season over six and
a half wins, so I'm feeling pretty feel pretty good
(01:19:19):
about that bet.
Speaker 5 (01:19:19):
Yeah, you're about to cash that here real soon.
Speaker 3 (01:19:21):
It hurts me, thank you, Cowboys.
Speaker 11 (01:19:23):
Favored on the road by seventeen and a half going
to the Giants.
Speaker 5 (01:19:27):
It's like the Monstars playing Will start with you.
Speaker 2 (01:19:31):
I mean, that's that's a scary, big favored number. But
they also need a huge bounce back win after their
loss to the Eagles. The Cowboys should win this one.
I am picking them to win this one, but it's
just like such a big favorite, sometimes you like play
down to the level of your opponent.
Speaker 5 (01:19:52):
I hope that's not the case. But the Cowboys should
crush the Giants. Yeah, Cowboys. Yes. Monstars versus Looney Tunes
without Michael Jor.
Speaker 11 (01:20:00):
In a right our final game, the Texans on the
road against the Bengals. Bengals favored by six.
Speaker 6 (01:20:05):
And a half. Moncy, We're going to you first.
Speaker 3 (01:20:09):
We talked a lot about that.
Speaker 5 (01:20:10):
We really up. This is another one that I'm not
entirely sure.
Speaker 3 (01:20:14):
You know, a lot of things coming into question.
Speaker 4 (01:20:16):
But I'm gonna take the Bengals. I'm gonna take the Bengals.
Speaker 3 (01:20:20):
Hey, this is gonna be a wash of a week.
Speaker 5 (01:20:22):
Yeah, you know, I don't know.
Speaker 2 (01:20:26):
I stroud coming off a career game, career drive borrow
missing T Higgins, but what you need is.
Speaker 4 (01:20:33):
A good quarterback, right and we don't know if Jamar
Chases is playing or not. You know, they still got
Tyler Boyden. There, I'm gonna say the Bengals.
Speaker 2 (01:20:40):
Okay, I'm also taking the Bengals. We picked every single
one the same this.
Speaker 6 (01:20:44):
Week, James Is, thank you for spending your.
Speaker 3 (01:20:46):
Saturday afternoon with us. We'll see you next week, same time,
same place.
Speaker 11 (01:20:50):
I
