In my mind, it's so different than a New York

He ends up playing in the NFL again, which is
like me inspiring. He couldn't even believe it.

And you know, we see stories inspire and they give
you hope, and Alex Smith is a definite example of that.
You know, you saw him on the field three days
ago on Monday Night football, tomar Hamlin not getting a
lot of reps, but back in the game after dying
on the field and being brought back to life. So
these are great stories to rally around, the feel good
stories every year, this one or two and Dobbs is

the guy now. But another sentiment that we share where
everyone's like, yeah, that's a feel good story is when
that hometown kid gets called up. He's the hometown kid though,
And I think that's why we were rallying or hoping that.

made us think of some of the great feel good
stories in recent history.

There's nothing wrong with that. Again, when there's so much
nonsense going on in the world, these are the things

Well, you talked earlier on over promise about your love
of that New York City slice of baits. Because we're
from the East coast, we can't not start with the

Obvious one is you and I really feeling something in
New York City called Lynsanity. There was nothing like a
city rallying around. Now, wait, who's this guy? He's living
on his friend's couch, Jeremy Lynn. You know why because
people love the underdog story. Again, you talked about how
Dobbs bounced around. That's what makes it a feel good

story and relatable and shocking, and and you want to
get behind it. Every time I bring up Linsanity because
it was what two weeks of awesome. Every time I
bring it up, I have to tell everybody, Yo, it
was real.
Speaker 3 (20:58):
We were there. It was I know you've seen the highlights,
but it was really was electric.
Speaker 1 (21:06):
And you know all the people were gonna name on
this list of field good stories. The common denominator, which
I like is the magic may eventually run out. But
what happens is these guys embrace their moments so much
that they all sort of went on to have careers,
whether it be off the bench or a backup. They
embraced the moment so much so that it's like, Yo,
(21:28):
you found your place in the league, my man. You
might not be a starter, but you're in.
Speaker 3 (21:32):
Like Jeremy Lynn, he was lighting up Kobe, he won
a championship. He did with the Raptors, Well, he didn't
play much. He's the one. He's a champion.
Speaker 2 (21:42):
Look, he had a decent career and it's lightning in
a bottle against that little mix of underdog with lightning
in a bottle. Situations need to be perfect, certain things
had to happen for these moments to even occur. And
another one of those, Minshew comes to mind because again comes.
Speaker 3 (21:57):
Out just like a smart plug.
Speaker 2 (21:59):
And it's more of his personality too, and his demeanor
and his mustache and his stupid headbands. Right, you're like,
all right, that's the guy I could rally around and
get behind.
Speaker 3 (22:07):
He was a feel good story for sure. And you
know last year Heineke.
Speaker 1 (22:12):
I mean, the guy's playing still in the NFL. Here's
a guy that had no business. I love it when
these guys have a quote no business being in the
league and then they get a chance. And you know,
I know we weren't planning on talking about him, But
how do you leave out my dude, brock Purty can't.
Speaker 3 (22:27):
Leave him out? I mean, dude, you kidding me?
Speaker 2 (22:30):
Mister irrelevant to where where he is now and then
he seems to be back. He's definitely one of the
guys that come to mind.
Speaker 3 (22:37):
Now.
Speaker 2 (22:37):
I know you're big on Austin Reeves as being that
guy because maybe because he's unassuming too.
Speaker 3 (22:42):
That's part of it.
Speaker 2 (22:43):
When you see an unassuming dude, even in fighting, you're
like that guy, that guy and he wins like like
an Andy Ruiz or something.
Speaker 1 (22:53):
Anyone that was in the G League that gets gets
the nod to come up and then lights it up,
where other teams in the off season like, no, we
want him now and he's got game for sure.
Speaker 2 (23:02):
And I think because you think a Lakers, I think
Caruso had a little bit of that hype too.
Speaker 1 (23:07):
Man.
Speaker 2 (23:07):
Not a lot in common, but as far as they're
play but I think a feel good story because no
one expected it.
Speaker 1 (23:12):
Sometimes that feel good story also revolves around coming back
from something tragic or something rough, like Alex Smith after
that horrific leg injury. Dude almost lost his leg, almost died.
He ends up playing in the NFL again, which is
like me inspiring. He couldn't even believe it.
Speaker 2 (23:30):
And you know, we see stories inspire and they give
you hope, and Alex Smith is a definite example of that.
You know, you saw him on the field three days
ago on Monday Night football, tomar Hamlin not getting a
lot of reps, but back in the game after dying
on the field and being brought back to life. So
these are great stories to rally around, the feel good
stories every year, this one or two and Dobbs is
(23:52):
the guy now. But another sentiment that we share where
everyone's like, yeah, that's a feel good story is when
that hometown kid gets called up. He's the hometown kid though,
And I think that's why we were rallying or hoping that.
Speaker 1 (24:06):
Tom me the me to remind yourself, local kid, you
have to remind yourself. Nine out of ten times, these
feel good stories don't work out a llah, Tommy.
Speaker 3 (24:18):
I mean, you know, we'll see what happens. You see
his dad they were liperating him in the stands. His
dad's like, what are you calling the play? Like even
his dad's like what are you doing?
Speaker 2 (24:29):
So it is always a nice moment though when you
see the hometown kid do his things, so hey, feel
