Speaker 1 (00:01):
You're listening to Fox Sports.
Speaker 2 (00:04):
Oh what is going on? Everybody?
Speaker 3 (00:06):
Welcome in a full slate of college football action.
Speaker 2 (00:13):
Come on, in the water is prinked. Huh.
Speaker 3 (00:16):
We got Georgia and Tennessee. We've got four ranked on ranked.
We'll have ritt Ornberger, the Penn State All American here
in just a little bit.
Speaker 2 (00:25):
But just for now, it's you and me, Jared Smith.
Let's go baby, chopping up ball over here.
Speaker 3 (00:30):
I'll tell you what, man, there's so much to look
at if you whittle it down to the race for
the final four, the race for the college football playoff teams.
If you think about Georgia, they're now number one in
the CFP rankings and they don't have much margin for error.
You think about the game today on the road against Tennessee.
(00:50):
You think about the SEC championship game against Alabama. If
they slip up one time, it's gonna be a little
bit tricky to get in there. So I find that
to be really interesting. As dominant as they've looked as
of late and have they've won twenty seven straight, and
you think they're gonna be a shoe in. It's not
a done deal yet that they're one of the final
(01:11):
four teams. If you had to bet today, I would
bet on them being there. But it's not as like
write them in penn as you might think heading into
today's game against Tennessee.
Speaker 4 (01:22):
Yeah, because you have Alabama that's hot to trot all
of a sudden, they control their own destiny. I actually
think that's the beauty of this particular year.
Speaker 5 (01:33):
Is parody, and it's been parody all year, Brian, Like.
Speaker 4 (01:35):
We've been going, We've been talking about this since the
beginning parts of the season, when Georgia didn't look like
the number one team, and we're thinking to ourselves, Man,
is this the year that you know, a random team from.
Speaker 5 (01:46):
The SEC gets it.
Speaker 4 (01:47):
No, it's probably gonna be Georgia or Alabama, could be both,
And I think that's the scenario that not a lot
of people are factoring in right now. Georgia wins out,
Michigan and Ohio State one of them knocks each other out,
Oregon and Washington one of them knocks each other out.
Speaker 5 (02:01):
So then we've got the winner of.
Speaker 4 (02:03):
The SEC championship game if it is Alabama. Let's say
we've got the winner of the Big Ten championship game
Michigan or Aisles State. We've got the winner of the
PAC twelve, and then you've got Florida.
Speaker 5 (02:13):
State that's undefeated, that's looked kind of shaky.
Speaker 4 (02:15):
You've got Texas that already has one loss, and then
you'd have potentially Bama in the SEC championship game facing Georgia.
If Bama wins that game, does Georgia get knocked all
the way to the curve? Like? Do you take Florida
State undefeated over one loss?
Speaker 5 (02:32):
George? Like, I again, these.
Speaker 4 (02:34):
Are not the decisions that I have to make, thankfully,
but these are decisions that I think the committee might
be faced with over the next month.
Speaker 2 (02:40):
Right.
Speaker 3 (02:40):
And that's one of those deals where this is the
time of year where it's what if territory, Yeah, you know,
what if.
Speaker 2 (02:48):
This team wins and what if this team loses it?
Then what the d do you put in?
Speaker 3 (02:52):
And it's like, we'll cross that bridge if we ever
get to it. But I hear you is I'm wondering
where the the chaos is. Who's the chaotic team that
does something win or lose that you didn't see coming.
Speaker 4 (03:08):
BAMAA Bama beating Georgia in the SEC title game and
then you've got one loss Bama, one loss Georgia, Like
that is a tough because then you've got Texas one loss,
Florida State could be undefeated. And does Georgia fall all
the way.
Speaker 5 (03:24):
Down past those teams? I don't know. I would think yes,
but I don't. I don't know.
Speaker 3 (03:30):
Would that be crazy if Georgia slips up but still
gets in.
Speaker 2 (03:34):
Yeah, and as the one seat and you're like, cool,
we get the dogs. Great?
Speaker 4 (03:41):
Right, Yeah, that's a that's a bad spot for I'm
assuming it'll be the Big Ten winner, right, will be
the one whoever wins that Ohio State Michigan game. I
guess we're flash for alwreading and saying they should beat
Iowa in the Big Ten title game, and then you'd
have an undefeated Big Ten champion. You would, yes, that
team would be won, and then yeah, I mean chaos
(04:03):
behind it.
Speaker 3 (04:04):
Man, speaking of chaos and the clown show of college football,
that would be your Michigan Wolverines. And the week that was,
holy hell, Jared, are you serious? Last week we were
doing the show and it was the Michigan president came
out and said, oh, this three game suspension of Jim
Harbaugh or the signs stealing scandal. It's just because you
(04:26):
don't like Michigan, right, Like, all this stuff came.
Speaker 2 (04:30):
Out, This is unjust. It's because you don't like us.
Speaker 3 (04:33):
And then Michigan went, oh, shoot, this is kind of
on us. They fired their linebackers coach for interfering in
the investigation as the NCAA is trying to figure out
what happened with the signs stealing scandal. And then Michigan's like,
you know what, forget about this court case and appealing
Jim harbaugh suspension.
Speaker 2 (04:54):
He'll serve it. It's fine.
Speaker 3 (04:57):
That is unbelievable that they put their trust in Jim
Harbaugh and the program doing the right thing, and they
couldn't be more obvious that the program has been doing
the wrong thing. Just their actions followed. They know, they're like,
oh gosh, yeah, my bad. Uh kind of spoke out
of turn right there, and I wonder it's not gonna
(05:19):
show up today. But when they face Ohio State without
Jim Harbaugh, what are we looking at?
Speaker 2 (05:24):
Then?
Speaker 4 (05:25):
Yeah, I think this is a weird week for them.
I think last week it was easy, like the and
we talked about it last week. I hated the timing
of that suspension. I didn't mind the suspension. I mean
you to suspend them, it's fine doing it on the
plane when you know they were getting ready to travel
(05:47):
and go to State college. That was purposeful. They did
that with intent to screw up Michigan's day. It wasn't
done because of justice. Was done to stick it to Michigan,
and I didn't like that. I thought it could have
been done earlier in the week, earlier in the month,
(06:09):
the following week on a Monday, not.
Speaker 5 (06:11):
The day of the travel.
Speaker 4 (06:13):
So you gave Michigan the motivation and the bulletin board
material on a silver platter last week.
Speaker 5 (06:19):
Then you beat Penn State.
Speaker 4 (06:21):
Suard Moore cries during the interview. Everyone's emotional, and now
the following week it's kind of like the letdown, right,
and then you have to manufacture emotion again because now
everything is settled. Jim Harbow in the Big Ten, they're
all playing nicey nice and they're just gonna take the
punishment move on. And now you have to manufacture more
emotion because next week you have the biggest game of
(06:43):
the year.
Speaker 5 (06:43):
You don't need to manufacture emotion for that.
Speaker 4 (06:45):
It's Michigan, Ohio state, but this game could be tricky,
whereas we'll see what the emotion level is for Michigan
in this game. They're going on the road again, They're
going to College Park. They're facing an offense that I
think is the best offense they faced all year in Maryland,
and to Lea Tagobai low, I mean, you go back
and look at Michigan schedule, it's you know, Purdue in
Northwestern and Rutgers and it's it's not exactly murderers Row.
Speaker 5 (07:06):
So it's interesting week.
Speaker 4 (07:08):
I think they should they should win the game, but
it might emotion wise. I'm curious to see how they
come out.
Speaker 3 (07:12):
Bran, Yeah, I am too. And what a stat This
doesn't even seem real. So Maryland, right, who you just
mentioned right there, they're hosting Michigan Maryland. Since they joined
the Big Ten in twenty fourteen, they are zero to
thirty three against ranked Big Ten opponents.
Speaker 4 (07:32):
And they don't cover either. They're like three and thirteen
since Loxley took over.
Speaker 2 (07:35):
They don't cover. That's the other part of it.
Speaker 3 (07:37):
Yeah, Like they're nineteen and a half point home dogs today.
They might not even keep it within that number. But
you're right, I want to see how Michigan comes out
a lot of emotion last.
Speaker 2 (07:48):
Week and road game. What do they look like?
Speaker 3 (07:51):
Do we see more than eight passing attempts from JJ McCarthy.
That was like some Bob Greasy nineteen seventy two Miami
Dolphins type stuff.
Speaker 2 (08:00):
They didn't throw a pass in the second half.
Speaker 4 (08:02):
They didn't need to against us because.
Speaker 2 (08:04):
We can't throw pass.
Speaker 3 (08:06):
I actually liked it where they're like, you know what,
let's win the game. That's fine. I just don't want
to hear anything about JJ McCarthy hes trophy right after it.
Speaker 2 (08:14):
Don't Those two things couldnt be in the same time.
Speaker 4 (08:18):
Nicks can. Actually, Daniels has picked up some steam the
last couple of days too. He's I think the way
it'll play on in the Heisman is if Oorgan runs
the table, it's Bonex.
Speaker 5 (08:28):
If Oregon slips up, it'll be Daniels.
Speaker 4 (08:31):
I think that's kind of how I vibe, unless unless
Penix goes on the road today and wins, and then
it'll be Pennix.
Speaker 5 (08:37):
But they all kind of control their destiny, I think.
Speaker 2 (08:40):
Except for JJ McCarthy.
Speaker 4 (08:43):
If they gave him the heisman, that's that would be
the biggest coup in the history of the Heisman Trophy.
Speaker 3 (08:47):
I think the only thing that could save him is
if he throws nineteen touchdown passes against Ohio State, who.
Speaker 4 (08:55):
Has given up like maybe five touchdown passes right the
whole year.
Speaker 3 (08:58):
Right, if he threw a eighteen, not enough, Gotta be
at least nineteen against Ohio State next week? Yes, what
else do you have your eye on today? Some sneaky
good matchups. I like number ten Louisville at Miami.
Speaker 2 (09:11):
This is one of those car lines. Yeah, where you.
Speaker 3 (09:13):
Got the stinky one Miami the Canes plus one? Right,
Louisville just a one point favorite on the road, only
one loss this year, But that is an interesting matchup.
Speaker 4 (09:25):
Man, that's the stat Honestly, that's one of my favorite
games on the card today. Is again, you look at
the college football schedule and the rankings and the standings
at this stage, right we're in week twelve, the season
is pretty much over. Next week's the last real week
of the regular season. And you look at Louisville. They're
(09:47):
one loss team. They can win the ACC whatever get
into their little bracket. If they win this game, they
can get into the title game and they're a pick
them at Miami.
Speaker 5 (09:57):
We's lost four games.
Speaker 4 (09:58):
Like this is where the betting market matters so much
more than the ranking, because you look at what Louisville
is and you're like, wow, they're a great team and
lost one game and beat and beat all these great teams.
Speaker 5 (10:11):
They're a pick them on the road at Miami.
Speaker 2 (10:13):
Right.
Speaker 4 (10:14):
It just it tells you what Louisville really is. And frankly,
this is a.
Speaker 5 (10:19):
Game I think Miami's gonna win.
Speaker 2 (10:22):
They might what a what?
Speaker 3 (10:24):
This is one of the wackier stat lines from last week.
So Miami lost against Florida State, but they were respectable.
Speaker 2 (10:31):
Yeah, they played them real tight, They played them tough.
Speaker 3 (10:34):
And you look at last week's game and Tyler Van
Dyke wasn't starting. He was in at the end there,
but he was not starting the starting quarterback. He went
eight for twenty three for one hundred and seventy five
yards and a couple of touchdowns. Think about that, eight
for twenty three for a bucks seventy five and a
(10:57):
couple of scores.
Speaker 4 (10:58):
It was like, wait, what Refreshman making his first start
Emery Williams and then it was really brutal injury at
the end.
Speaker 5 (11:05):
Of that game. But it's actually funny because.
Speaker 4 (11:08):
When I watched a lot of the interviews with Miami's
you know, personnel this week, they let Van Dyke talk
to the media for the first time since he started
a couple of weeks ago against Florida State, and you
could tell like that was an emotional game for them.
Speaker 5 (11:23):
I actually think it is in a positive.
Speaker 4 (11:25):
Way, galvanizes them because you know, the poor, poor injury
at the end of the game.
Speaker 5 (11:29):
It was like a compound fracture in the.
Speaker 4 (11:31):
Forum, like it was a really gruesome injury to that
freshman quarterback. And I think Van Dyke, I think it
was a blessing in disguise for Van Dyke because he
had been struggling, he was banged up, and then they
benched him after the NC State game and then he
got a chance to kind of sit back and watch
and they rallied around the freshman, and I think they're
(11:52):
gonna rally around Van Dyke today.
Speaker 5 (11:54):
I think Miami wins this game. I honestly do.
Speaker 2 (11:57):
You might be right.
Speaker 3 (11:58):
I don't know if that's your best bet or if
that's one of your three picks.
Speaker 2 (12:01):
At the end. Sounds like it's on the list sounds
like it's going to be in there.

(14:39):
With that, we say hello to mister rich Ornberger. Huh
wow with us, right, Rich.
Speaker 7 (14:47):
I am in santosse Well, Silicon Valley is where I'm staying.
So you figured the last place on the planet where
you would have wireless fidelity issues.
Speaker 3 (14:57):
But yeah, we have Look at that Look at that
hotel room. You got arithmetic in the background.
Speaker 2 (15:03):
That is I don't even dude, this is unbelievable.
Speaker 7 (15:08):
But this has been the most harrowing technological spell that
we've had since doing this show together.
Speaker 5 (15:15):
Even last show.
Speaker 7 (15:17):
That one was in Fresno, which we expected because Fresno
there there's not a lot of things in Fresno. Look,
the point is, the point is fine, people, though I
love the people in Fresno, really some of the best people.
Speaker 2 (15:32):
I love the people of Fresno.
Speaker 7 (15:33):
Look, the point is, the point is when when you're
here in Silicon Valley, you don't expect to have these issues,
but you know, I I connect to the internet and
then it just fries on me a couple of times
over I'm a I'm in a complete panic. By the
time I got connected, I was telling Chris Purfet, our
technical producer in the booth, that I felt like Tom
(15:54):
Tom Hanks and Castaway when he makes fire for the
first time on the island. I was just warming myself
over the Wi Fi. This was incredible. So we're ready
to rock. We're ready to go.
Speaker 2 (16:06):
Man.
Speaker 3 (16:06):
You know what's funny is Rich is a cool dude,
Riches chill. Rich is laid back, but riches about his
business also. And so you've gone Forrest Gump with your
com Rex unit through what like the mean streets of
Utah before I don't remember where. You were, just going
from hotel to hotel looking for an Ethernet connection. And
(16:30):
this morning where like I know that you have that
switch where you go into like left guard territory where
you're like.
Speaker 2 (16:37):
I got a freaking show today.
Speaker 7 (16:39):
You know what I mean, You're one thousand percent right,
I legitimately so this it wasn't working in the room,
so I was thinking I'll just do it from the lobby,
like I'll just I'll just find an Ethernet port at
the front desk, and people are just gonna have to
be putting up with my absolutely terrible rapid fire.
Speaker 2 (16:57):
Picks, which will be coming up later in the show.
Speaker 7 (17:00):
They call me one and two Warnberger because it's been
that way for four weeks straight.
Speaker 2 (17:04):
We're gonna break the spell this week.
Speaker 4 (17:06):
Boys, But yeah, to forget about all that.
Speaker 2 (17:09):
That's right, that's right, we'll get back on that. We'll
get off the schneid.
Speaker 3 (17:13):
As I said, that's what I've been thinking with my
picks all year, where I'm like, man, still under five hundred.
Speaker 2 (17:19):
I just need an undefeated week. You know, John, He's
been a.
Speaker 4 (17:21):
Rough year for me too. I have not had a
positive year in college football betting this year, full transparency,
Like I am down this year.
Speaker 5 (17:27):
It has been a really tough year.
Speaker 2 (17:30):
How about this one.
Speaker 3 (17:31):
We got North Carolina at Clemson and Clemson is favored
by seven in the hook, they're favored by seven and
a half over there at BEDMGM. You look at North Carolina,
they're eight and two. But they've been a goofy team
and as of late, they've been scoring a lot and
they have not been preventing points. So you look at
the stat right here is pretty interesting. They've scored at
(17:52):
least forty points in six of their last seven games.
They've allowed at least thirty one in four of their
last five games. So you might see some fireworks today
with North Carolina at Clemson. The totals right there at
fifty nine and a half, just right underneath sixty. So
what we could see Drake May and the boys putting
(18:13):
up some points and not preventing a whole lot today.
Speaker 7 (18:16):
Well, and what's interesting about Drake May and you and
c this year is I mean, this program's playing for
so much even if they look whether or not they
sneak away with a win at Clemson, which would be
a rare win for them over the years. I know,
it's a different looking Clemson football program. We'll get to
the other side of this conversation, I'm sure, but focusing
(18:38):
on what the tar Heels have is a potential first
overall draft pick. I mean, think what that does for
the profile of your program. Think about how that helps
you recruit and how that helps the transfer portal. Look
at Lincoln Riley, you know what I mean, Like you
get one of these guys to go to the NFL
(19:00):
and be coveted by all these teams, and with the
first overall pick, it can it can completely change your
destiny moving forward. So these games down the stretch, you know,
if they can find a way, a lot of things
would have to happen to get into an ACC championship game.
I would be I would be doubtful to see them
fight their way into it, but if they can, that
(19:22):
would be excellent. But most importantly, they have to feature
and highlight their greatest asset, which is Drake May and
his route to maybe potentially becoming a first or second
overall quarterback taken in this year's NFL draft because of
what it does to NIL and we know that there's
wealthy donors and boosters around that athletic department. They've given
(19:43):
to the basketball team over the years, the football team
has been a benefactor as well. That's how you start
to turn the tide for a football program.
Speaker 4 (19:52):
Yeah, I like your take on that, Rich I think
I think with Drake May, you're gonna see a lot
of it over the last two weeks of this season.
A lot of players that are and we see it
during bull season, and we'll talk about during ball season,
like the prop market in bowl season, hovering around players
trying to improve their draft stock is always a very
(20:13):
very good angle. I think in this particular game, Clemson's
defense offers a very unique challenge. I was actually surprised
so at bet MGM we saw this line kind of
hover at seven for a good majority of the week,
and then it was on Thursday we hopped over the
seven barrier got the seven and a half.
Speaker 5 (20:31):
So there's some money in the market for Clemson here.
Speaker 4 (20:34):
And I think when you look at what Clemson is
right now, it's mostly defense, no offense, right, and that's
the strength of their team. This will be the probably
the best offense they faced all year in UNC. And
on the flip side, for UNC, this will probably be
the best defense that they have faced all season in Clemson.
I think the biggest issue what I see on the
(20:55):
UNC defensive side, right, because that's where the volatility the
variants of this game is. Like I think Clemson's defense
against UNC's offense like we're gonna like two you know,
battering rams going against each other. But can Clemson's offense
have success on UNC's defense. I think the answer to
that question is yes. I think that's why we've seen
the money on Clemson this week. You look at who
UNC has played over the last month. It's all smash
(21:18):
mouth teams. Uva ran on him fifty one times, Georgia
Tech forty eight, Duke forty one, and that was an
overtime gamer, double overtime game last week. So how much
gas does UNC's defense have left in the tank. We've
seen Clemson's offense at times this year.
Speaker 5 (21:33):
Have some explosiveness, especially on the ground.
Speaker 4 (21:36):
They'll get the MafA Shipley duo back this week, So
I think the money is fair on Clemson, but I'm
not willing to lay over a touchdown with them considering
how inconsistent they can be on offense.
Speaker 3 (21:45):
Yeah, someone who is consistent offensively and defensively. That would
be Isaac Lowan and in special teams right three phases
of the game, they're no shortcomings like when they have
But they call it with the Broncos the May Day
field goal at the end of the game against the Bills.
Speaker 2 (22:06):
And you practice that stuff in training camp. Let's just
say I Loo would not have twelve men on the field,
no will, no chance. He's got the latest. Lo, what's
going on, buddy, Yeah, we got the very latest.
Speaker 8 (22:18):
We have a piece of exclusive audio, fellas that just
came in. We have exclusive audio of how it sounded
when Rich Ornberger connected to his wireless internet just a
short time ago. Just gripping dramatic audio that just in
(22:42):
from Silicon Valley in the NFL. NFL media just reported
that the Pittsburgh Steelers planned to activate tight end Pat
Freremuth from injured reserve today. Steeler's gonna be visiting the
Cleveland Browns tomorrow, both teams six and three in the NBA.
On Friday Night, the Phoenix Suns What Are You to?
One thirty one to one twenty eight Kevin Durant thirty
(23:03):
eight points, including the game flinching three with eighteen seconds
to go. Also at nine rebounds, nine assists, Lebron James
thirty five in the Los Angeles Lakers what Oh seven
ninety five win at Portland, the Blazers on a six
game losing streak. The Boston Celtics winning at Toronto whataawaight
to what five to improve to ten and two. Derek
White the gohead three pointer with twenty six point eight
to play. The Sixers improved in nine and three with
(23:26):
a one twenty six one sixteen triumph at Atlanta. Joel
embiid thirty two points, seven rebounds and eight assists. The
Saccavedo Kings got forty three from Dierreon Fox at a
one twenty nine to one twenty win at San Antonio.
Kings on a five game winning streak. Victor Wembinyama scored
twenty seven in a losing cause for San Antonio, and
(23:47):
the New Orleans Pelicans defeated the Denver Nuggets one fifteen
to one ten despite Niko le Jokicic's one hundred and
tenth career triple double. He had twenty six points, sixteen rebounds,
and I had a career high with eighteen assists. That's
what's trending. I'm uncle T I'm as a long crun.
I'm as a long crun back to you guys.
Speaker 2 (24:07):
Thank you.

(24:29):
Slash credit card limitations apply. You know, I'd like to
circle back just briefly, because rich Ornberger was basically Tom
Cruise from a few good men arguing on behalf of
the Michigan Wolverines last week.
Speaker 2 (24:44):
You know, that's right, that's right.
Speaker 3 (24:45):
I'm just curious for you stay on after reference total
clown show just did in about face last week. It was, oh, oh,
you're suspending Jim Harbaugh because you don't like us, and
that's not a good enough reason. And the next thing,
you know, oh, you know what, our linebackers coach, he's
out of a job because he's interfering with the investigation.
And you know what, forget about this court appeal. Harbaugh
(25:09):
will just serve the suspension. Our fault on all of this. Like,
I'm just curious where you stand on the Wolverines, the
Maze and Blue with their signs dealing scandal now they're
rich O.
Speaker 7 (25:19):
Well, I don't think there's a way that anybody comes
out of these situations looking great. And that's that's not
really defending the Wolverines in any way. In fact, I
don't want to confuse. I don't know if I like
Jim Harbaugh. I've never met him, don't. I don't particularly
love the Michigan Wolverines. They were an enemy of mine
(25:43):
when I was playing at Penn State, Like, like, the
only thing that really rubbed me the wrong way was
the fact that the Big Ten folded to pressure. That
the Big Ten has now set a precedent here in
their conference that if enough coaches and athletic directors make
a big enough stink about something, they'll be foisted into
(26:05):
action without really doing an investigation. Because the NCAA is
still investigating this case, this is a scandal that who knows,
they may unearth so much damaging material that maybe Jim
Harbugh ever coaches in college football again, I mean, that's
a potential reality here.
Speaker 4 (26:26):
I don't know.
Speaker 7 (26:28):
Nobody knows because guess what, we're not a part of
this investigation. Michigan's already fired a coach over this investigation.
They fired a staffer in Connor Stallion's over this investigation,
which head is next to the role as a result
of these investigations, So the more information that's being unearthed
(26:49):
here that Michigan's aware of they're making like professional moves.
They're taking people's jobs as a result. So I think
the Big Ten what did a huge discis service to
their conference, and Tony Pettiti, the commissioner, did a huge
disservice to the rest of the teams by setting this
precedent that if you have a mob, an angry mob,
(27:10):
show up at his door, he's gonna fold and he's
going to really just I guess, I guess do whatever
he think is necessary to appease the rest of the coaches.
And I don't know if Jim ended up accepting the
punishment because he got winned from the commissioner of the
Big Ten that look, if you play ball with us,
(27:31):
the NCAA will take grace upon you with some of
these findings later on when they come down pretty heavy,
heavy handed with their punishment, or what backdoor deal was
made between the Wolverines and the Big Ten, I don't know.
We weren't a part of those discussions either. I just
didn't like how they jumped into action without obviously having
(27:53):
a full a full tallly of the information needed to
jump into action.
Speaker 4 (27:58):
Yeah, I think I think reasonable minds can disagree on
the severity of what he did and how much he
knew and how much impact it had on the game. Like,
I think that's where the investigation matters. The part that
I was really upset with, and it sounds like Rich
and I are kind of on the same page here.
It was just the timing of everything, like the way
(28:19):
that the Big Ten kind of swooped in on a
Friday and said yep, you're out, And it felt very contrived,
It felt very you know, forced. It didn't feel like
it was the right timing to do that the night
before the game against Penn State. Everything about last Friday
was wrong. I think over time we will gain you know,
(28:43):
closure and some you know, just visibility on exactly what happened,
and we'll be able to form our own conclusions on
how much of an impact it is. But Last Friday
was not the right timing nor the right vehicle to
punish Jim Marble, and unfortunately they did. It gave Michigan
just an unbelievable amount of motivation, which they obviously used
(29:05):
to their advantage.
Speaker 5 (29:05):
They won the game. It was an emotional game.
Speaker 4 (29:07):
You have Shan More on the field afterwards, crying during
the postgame interview, like it was like that, that whole
scenario was contrived by the Big Ten, Like they like
that was they made their bed, Now they had to
sleep in it, which was Michigan is this, you know,
galvanized team, And this week it kind of I guess
it's a little more detent this week, right, seems like
(29:28):
both sides at least came to some kind of an
agreement and we can kind of move on with the season.
And at least that was the whole point I was
making last week. Just finish the season first, let the
season play out. Then we have the whole off season
to figure out what's what. But they rushed to a
conclusion and now we're kind of left with the aftermath.
Speaker 3 (29:46):
To me, Michigan is the Draymond Green of college football,
like the good car. He always somehow becomes the victim.
That's what Michigan is. He Jim Harbaugh called Michigan America's
team for overcoming adversity. It's like, you bums created this
(30:07):
whole thing. Yeah, and now you're America's team for jumping
over the hurdle that you set in front of yourself.
And I'm supposed to give you flowers for that? What
are you guys talking about that's what Michigan has done
to giving us all into being a victim somehow when
they did this themselves. It's funny. It's like we talked
about it speeding on the highway. Michigan was speeding on
(30:30):
the highway. They were going faster than the other cars.
Other cars were speeding as well. Let's not make it
out like they're the only team stealing signs, but the
way they did it, they're going faster than the other cars.
They got pulled over, they got a ticket, and they're like,
but I was on my way to Thanksgiving deed dinner.
Speaker 2 (30:47):
You're gonna give me a ticket right now and.
Speaker 3 (30:51):
Spare me, spare your feelings and your tears and all
of that bs.
Speaker 2 (30:56):
You screwed up, You pay the price.
Speaker 3 (31:00):
That's the end of the stor And that's where we
are right now with this whole Michigan thing, At least
that's where I'm at.
Speaker 2 (31:05):
Well, I think we're in very similar places.
Speaker 7 (31:09):
It may sound like I'm rushing to the defense of
Michigan because I didn't like the process the Big Ten
took in their punishment, but I hope let's put it
this way, because this was my hope with any of
the scandals that broke out in the Big Ten, and
there have been some big ones Michigan State with you know,
obviously Larry Nasser, Penn State with Sandusky. I mean, the
(31:32):
Big Ten has had some unbelievable, widespread scandals that they've
had to deal with over the course of the past
decade plus. You know, this may look like small potatoes
to those other ones, but I like the idea of
due process, and the reason is for two reasons. One,
I want to know if there are innocent parties, and
(31:52):
I want to know. I want to excuse me, I
want to know who the innocent parties are and who
the guilty parties are. Like truly, I want to investigation,
and I want people who are trained and practiced at
this to dive into all the details and find that
out for us, because I don't want to get into
the finger pointing game and have people's lives be ruined
because of association when they had.
Speaker 2 (32:13):
Nothing to do with something.
Speaker 7 (32:15):
But then you take it a step further. Those who
are guilty I want punished to the absolute fullest extent.
And I don't want good behavior during a three game
suspension where by the way, Jim Harbaugh is still coaching
his team all week long, He's just not showing up
on game day. Now does that change things? It certainly does.
(32:38):
But a suspension normally means that you're not with your team,
you're gone, you're a persona non grata, So this is
a very weak suspension. Also, this, to Jared's point, is
very much just a show pony experiment trying to get
the rest of the Big Ten coaches and nads off
of your back. If you're Tony Petiti League commissioner and
(33:01):
in the in the interim, I hope it doesn't interfere
with the level of punishment Michigan receives if they're guilty
of a widespread conspiracy.
Speaker 2 (33:09):
Here, what happens if we.
Speaker 7 (33:10):
Find out that Jim Harbaugh was himself on the phone
with Connor Stallion's what happens if they had email messaging
back and forth and there's actual, like written evidence that
he was getting direct signs stealing sent to him. What
if he was the mastermind of all this and it
started and ended with him because he didn't want anybody
(33:31):
else knowing how bad this was. I want him then
punished to the full extent of whatever the rules are
available for him to be punished by, because and I
don't want them to, like, you know, shave off a
couple of days on his time because he he accepted
his punishment earlier. Let's get the facts straight. Let's find
(33:52):
out exactly how bad or or how weak this was
in terms of, you know, comparatively, and then and then
let's levy punishment because I think this was handled. It
felt like a kangaroo court, and and it looked really ugly.
Speaker 4 (34:08):
So you're saying that our pal Jim Harbaugh could be
the Colonel Nathan jess Up in our A Few Good
Men metaphor.
Speaker 5 (34:15):
Right, Yeah, you want.
Speaker 4 (34:16):
Me on that wall, you need me on that wall your.
Speaker 2 (34:20):
DA code red. You're damn right. I ordered the code red.
Speaker 4 (34:25):
And and I'll be honest like that. Brian used that
comparison off the top. It kind of fits Brian, It
really does, because I think he does involve Jack Nicholson
vibes case.
Speaker 2 (34:35):
It's kind of.
Speaker 7 (34:36):
Wild, but yeah, super talented, but a little crazy till nuts.
Speaker 4 (34:41):
You know, it doesn't like chicken because it's a nervous bird,
like all those weird things.
Speaker 2 (34:44):
I don't know.
Speaker 4 (34:45):
Harball's got a Harball family has been in football for
a long time.
Speaker 5 (34:49):
Everything it kind of comes to a head.
Speaker 4 (34:51):
And to Rich's point, like everything was rushed last week
and they and they really threw this in our lap,
and unfortunately, I think Penn State got the worst of
It's kind of what they asked for, though. Penn State,
I'm sure was one of the teams that was wanting
the suspension to be levied very quickly on Harbaugh and
of course they hand you gave them some motivation on
a silver platter. But now you've got all this weird
(35:13):
post you know stuff.
Speaker 5 (35:14):
It's just it. We need time. It's not gonna get
resolved this year.
Speaker 4 (35:18):
Like, give it time. We'll deal with it in the offseason.
Speaker 5 (35:20):
We got football right now.
Speaker 3 (35:22):

the parlay platter. We'll see if the odds from Jared
Smith are in the fifteen.
Speaker 2 (35:57):
To one range. Be surprised this week. It sounds like
it might be in the six to one range. I'm
not sure.
Speaker 3 (36:04):
We'll find out right around the corner. Maybe he's throwing

(36:46):

Speaker 2 (36:50):
All right, let's do this.
Speaker 1 (36:52):
Check this out, ar lay letter.
Speaker 3 (36:56):
Okay, mister Jared Smith, I hear your h your tweaking
the formula.
Speaker 4 (37:01):
Oh yeah, the white flag.
Speaker 2 (37:02):
Has been laved.
Speaker 7 (37:07):
No this this You still have some decently.
Speaker 2 (37:09):
Long odds here, No, we do and listen.
Speaker 4 (37:13):
I'm always angle, I'm always transparent, and it's been about
how I feel about my wagers. Probably not the right
approach this year, to go no risk it, no biscuit
twenty to one parlay odds every week. We probably could
have hit one or two of these suckers if I
just had a little work.
Speaker 5 (37:32):
Come a little more chill.
Speaker 4 (37:34):
But fool me wants shame on me forol me twice,
shame on everyone else. So a little tweak to the
parley platter this week. These are just my three favorite bets.
These are my three favorite bets of the week. And
we're putting him in a parlay and I hope they
all hit because you're probably gonna hear him again a
little bit later in the show. SMU might say, and
I won't get into him too much because we'll have
time later. But I'll just give him give you the picks.
(37:55):
I'll give you the strategy, and we'll let these two
chop it up on the other side. See how they feel.
SMU at Memphis today, winner survives in the American title race.
And this is an SMU offense that I think is
very undervalue. They've won six straight, They've scored thirty one
or more in all six games, and their quarterback, I think,
is again a guy you probably haven't heard of, Preston Stone.
Facing a Memphis defense that just really struggles, They're gonna
(38:17):
score a bunch of points in this game. They should
win with margin SMU minus eight and a half. Miami
money line against Louisville. We talked about this game off
the top of the show. Louisville's a one loss team,
top ten ACC title hope squarely in their picture. Yet
it's basically a pick them today, and I'm seeing at
bet MGM the line is moving towards Miami. So the
Hurricanes are one of those sharp, sneaky spots today that
(38:38):
everybody wants to fade because they're facing Louisville and the
ranking looks good, Yet don't because Miami's offense I think.
But Van Dyke's gonna move the ball a lot today. Finally,
Oregon State guys. Since the start of the twenty twenty
one season, which is I believe when Jonathan Smith really
you know, took over that program. The Beavers sixteen and
one straight up, sixteen and one.
Speaker 5 (38:57):
Ats at home.
Speaker 4 (38:59):
They do not lose in Corvallis, and they cover in Corvallis,
and they're laying less than a fieldal today against Washington,
another side that the public's gonna love to bet. Washington undefeated,
top ten facing Oregon State with two losses, and Oregon
State's the favorite. So don't be scurred to bet Oregon
State Miami SMU today all on the spread and the
(39:22):
parlay is plus.
Speaker 5 (39:23):
Five seventy over at bet MGM.
Speaker 4 (39:25):
You can go better right now over at MGM.
Speaker 7 (39:28):
Love that Oregon State bet. I'll say that, Brian, uh,
I that that's a buzzsaw in Corvallas. That fan base
gets into it. I took a visit up there calling
a game earlier this season. That's gonna be a tough,
tough matchup for the Huskies.
Speaker 5 (39:43):
Fun game.
Speaker 2 (39:45):
I just like that.
Speaker 3 (39:46):
Uh the all Gas no breaks, yeah philosophy, a little
break Parking.
Speaker 2 (39:54):
He needed a break, You needed a break from no breaks.
I just want to.
Speaker 4 (39:57):
Win one of these things. We gotta win one. I
can't go the whole season without hang a parlay.
Speaker 3 (40:03):
All right, Coming up next, we got Ranked versus Ranked
a combo platter if you will.
Speaker 1 (40:08):
Fox Sports Radio has the best sports talk lineup in
the nation. Catch all of our shows at Foxsports Radio

Speaker 2 (40:20):
Oh, what is going on? Everybody?
Speaker 3 (40:21):
Welcome in here a full slate of college football action.
We are breaking it down left and right, and we're
brought to you by Progressive Insurance.

Speaker 3 (40:31):
Get a multi policy discount by combining your motorcycle, RV, boat,
ATV and more all your protection in one place. Bundling
save at Progressive dot Com. Let's do a ranked versus
Ranked combo platter here. We'll start out West Utah against Arizona.
I want to see Utah, who got scorched last week
(40:53):
by Michael Pennix Junior in Washington. Gave up a lot
of yards, gave up a good amount of points. Now
they're going up against Arizona on the road. Utah has
been really efficient defensively Arizona really efficient offensively. That's going
to be a great battle when it comes to these
seven and three teams. When Arizona has the ball. I
can't wait to see who gets the better of who today.
Speaker 7 (41:16):
I know, and this matchup couldn't come at a better
time for Arizona. They've been on fire. They've won four
straight games, including three over ranked opponents Washington State, Oregon State, UCLA,
and by the way, the games they lost prior to
those matchups, they lost to Washington and USC by combined
(41:37):
nine points, so kept it close with some high powered
offenses there. Utah Utah is a team that lost two
of its past three. Again, those defeats came at the
hands of college football playoff contenders Oregon and Washington. But
when you look at when you look at this Arizona team,
(41:58):
this is a team that has completely rebuilt themselves over
the past two seasons. It was something like seventy or
seventy plus in the transfer portal before last season. I mean,
they played much better football than anybody expected them to
last year, and then all of a sudden this year,
those chickens are starting to come home to roost and
(42:19):
they're playing like a congealed culture.
Speaker 2 (42:22):
This has been really fun.
Speaker 7 (42:23):
It's one of those backburner items in college football that
we haven't talked about a lot, but it's been really
fun to see what Arizona has been able to do
with the new rules, with the transfer portal, completely gentrifying
their football program.
Speaker 4 (42:38):
Yeah, to Rich's point there, one of the pro college
football handicappers that I respect, A Ton, does a podcast
every week. He said that Arizona was the highest upgrade
of any Power five team in terms of the preseason
power rating to now they've upgraded them ten full points
(42:59):
over the last last eleven weeks. I mean, that is
a massive upgrade for a professional who does this for
a living and who studies the offseason tape and then
ranks the teams accordingly in preseason and then obviously the
rankings changed throughout the course of the year. But Arizona,
I mean four straight wins eight and two against the spread,
five and zero against the spread when facing a ranked
(43:23):
opponent this year. I mean, what else do you want
besides that Jetfish salutes sir, you have done a fantastic job.
And that's with a backup quarterback again. The last few weeks,
it's been Noah Fafita, who is not the starter now
the starter Jalen Delora. I think I might be mispronouncing that,
but he really struggled the first few weeks and then
(43:45):
he kind of The injury was kind of I would say,
might have been benched anyways, even if he didn't get hurt.
But Fafita's come in and been fantastic. The reason why
I think they can have success against Utah today, if
you go back and watch Utah's tape when they face
quarterbacks that like to complete the short, quick passing game,
their defensive struggled. In fact, man, go back and watch
(44:09):
even week one, Graham Mertz completed twenty five to twenty
nine on passes nine yards or less, Kayleb Williams nineteen
to twenty one, Bonnicks eighteen of twenty one. Well, that's
what Arizona does, short quick passing game. They run the ball,
they play good defense. I think this is a tricky
spot for Utah today. And I like this Utah team.
They covered last week against Washington and they didn't make
enough plays offensively to win. But I think they're in
(44:31):
trouble this week on the road in the desert.
Speaker 3 (44:35):
Yeah, man, I thought you made a great point there, Jared,
where there aren't a ton of teams that can do
what Arizona has done with a backup quarterback. Yeah, so
shout out to Noah Fafida. He's been really, really solid
for them this season and we'll see if he can
continue it against Utah, who's trying to find their sea
legs defensively. After last week where it was a shootout
(44:59):
in the first half against Washington, Utah just had no answers.
You go from that to another ranked versus ranked game.
How about Kansas State and Kansas It's kind of interesting
these two games. All the teams are seven and three,
like Utah, Arizona seven and three, Kansas State Kansas seven
and three. Here's another fun fact. So you've got Kansas
(45:20):
and Kansas State. The last time both teams wanted at
least seven games in the same season was nineteen ninety five.
You gotta go all the way back to ninety five
where k State and KU won seven games, and here
they are both seven and three with the chance to
improve before the season's over. And man, you look at
(45:42):
Kansas State, it's weird. It's almost a little bit like
Oklahoma State. Vibes right where Oklahoma State has had some
sensational performances and you're like, whoa look out, and then
they've had just a couple of duds. That's Ku, that's
Kansas State. I should say k State, where they've scored
forty two points on average over their last five games.
(46:05):
But then they'll throw you a curveball every now and then.
I don't think there's a curveball today Kansas. We don't
know if Jason Bean is gonna go. He got knocked
out of last week's game. He's expected to go today,
and he better because he's their backup quarterback and if
he's not out there, this is going to be a
boat race. So I want to see what Bean can
(46:26):
do assuming he's in there, because they've got to match points.
Speaker 7 (46:30):
Gonna be a huge reliance on Devin Neil. Their rushing
attack is one of the more dominant ones in the nation.
Devon Neil almost one thousand yards on the season, already
ten rushing touchdowns, likely an All Big Twelve selection this season.
But like you said, when you have an issue at quarterback,
(46:50):
your opponents can take advantage. In Kansas State, Will Howard,
he's been really consistent twenty one touchdowns, eight interceptions. I
mean he's also supplementing a strong rushing attack, kind of
a dual headed monster out of the backfield for KSU.
So even though they're double digit underdogs, it feels like
(47:12):
it feels like one of those spots where you could
capitalize on the disadvantages, especially at that quarterback position for
the home favorites. So, I look, this is one of
those fun matchups, one of those fun rivalries. And for
anybody who doesn't pay attention to KU Kansas State, this
is one of the most bitter rivalries in sports. These
these home state kids, and if you look at their rosters,
(47:34):
it's filled with Kansas football players and then obviously the nearbouts.
Everybody buys into this one. This, this the fir is
gonna get flying. When this one came.
Speaker 4 (47:45):
The first I was gonna say, the Sunflower State, you know,
showdown sounds like really nice and flowery and fun. Yeah,
it's not. It's not much sunnier flowery. Here a lot
of anger with these two programs, especially can This has
been like the little brother for one hundred years, it
seems like. But to Brian's point, so we've seen this
(48:06):
number go up a little bit, not much. I was
monitoring the bet MGM splits this morning. It it actually
opened six and a half, and then once news broke
that Bean was questionable, which was basically Monday. Tuesday, we
saw it jump over that key number of seven and
it's kind of been hovering in the eight, nine, nine
and a half inche I'm starting to see ten start
(48:27):
to become a possibility. And what does that tell us, Well,
Jason Beaan's probably not starting, and that's huge because, again
to Brian's point, it doesn't seem that way because he's
a really good backup, but he's the backup quarterback, which
means if he can't play, it's a third stringer. And
we saw the third stringer last week. It's not like
this unknown guy that we've never seen since the spring game.
(48:48):
He played most of the second half last week Cole
Ballard and oh it was ugly against Texas Tech defense.
Speaker 5 (48:55):
And I think Kansas State's.
Speaker 4 (48:56):
Defense is light years ahead of a lot of other
d defenses that Kansas has faced this year. Now, Case
State is without probably their best two tackling linebackers in
this game. Jake Clifton got hurt last week season ending
injury and then earlier this year Daniel Green. So they've
been without Green for a few weeks now. But now
you take Clifton and Green out, it's both basically both
(49:17):
main tackling linebackers in the middle. So we'll see if
the Kansas run game can get going a little bit.
But to me, the mismatch in this game, guys, is
Kansas's defense against Kansas State's offense. I mean, it is
like a hot night through butter running the ball on
the Jayhawks, and that's what Kansas State does, So I
think that's the advantage for the Wildcats in this game.
(49:37):
It's Giddinson, Ward, the top two backs for Kansas State,
and Howard who's fantastic with his legs. So all three
of those guys I think are gonna have big games.
I don't see how. I don't see how Kansas gets
enough stops in this game even if being does play
to win it. If he doesn't play, this one could
get really ugly.
Speaker 3 (49:55):
Now I'm with you on this, And look, it's one
of those things where I had a flashback Bedlam where
you think about Oklahoma State and Oklahoma. Oklahoma has owned
that series like they have won way more than they've lost,
and it didn't matter this year, right, And I bring
that up because Kansas State has owned this series. They've
(50:17):
won fourteen straight, They've won twenty six of the past
thirty against Kansas And so just what I thought about
Bedlam Black, Well, you know it didn't matter in Bedlam
because Oklahoma State squeaked that one out. This is a
spot where I think history could maintain and keep rolling
right when everything.
Speaker 4 (50:36):
Were just I'm on Kansas State. I betted at nine
and a half yesterday, I'm on k State.
Speaker 7 (50:41):
Okay, yeah, yeah, well look, I mean, key you. But
can they take advantage of their run game? Can they
take the pressure off their passing game that is tail
as old as time. When you have injury at quarterback,
are you able to capitalize by playing stingy defense and
leaning on arguably what they do the best this season? Anyways,
(51:03):
with so much issue with the quarterback position this season,
So yeah.
Speaker 2 (51:08):
I don't.
Speaker 7 (51:09):
I don't think it's gonna work out that way. But
like you said, Brian, it's college football.
Speaker 2 (51:14):
These games have to be played.
Speaker 7 (51:16):
You know, nobody was giving Colorado much of a chance
when they went down there.
Speaker 2 (51:19):
Well, I guess a lot.
Speaker 7 (51:20):
Of people were on it because of coach Prime, But
if you really looked at it, if you remove Dion
Sanders and his effect from that game, did anybody really
give Colorado a chance on the road a TCU The
answer was no, that's a program coming off of a
national championship run. Nobody knew what the Buffs really were yet,
but they got an enormous road win.
Speaker 2 (51:43):
It can happen. It's it's just, it's just.
Speaker 7 (51:46):
It starts with belief, and obviously it takes coaches helping
players realize that they've got a chance. Because if you
walk out of the tunnel and you hit the field
and you're like, yeah, if we get down early, we
should probably just start making our plans for tonight.
Speaker 2 (52:03):
Like, that's not that's not a good feeling.
Speaker 7 (52:05):
And I've been a part of those games and it
gets awful quiet on those sidelines.
Speaker 5 (52:12):
Yeah, definitely does.
Speaker 2 (52:14):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (52:14):

Speaker 4 (52:52):
Rich back there and you can tell me any bets
on there. We get to get fire away on.
Speaker 3 (52:56):
Yeah, yeahs not and a half mad.
Speaker 2 (53:01):
I think I think they put the quadratic equation.
Speaker 5 (53:04):
That's not gonna help us, like the area.
Speaker 2 (53:06):
Of a cone. That's about all I can no, No,
that's too nerdy for me. Yeah. Jared Smith is with
us FSR betting analyst. I'm Brian no.

Coming up next, we're following the money with our main man.

Speaker 2 (53:26):
The right side.
Speaker 3 (53:26):
We'll see what he has in store for us today.

Speaker 2 (54:21):
All right, let's do this.
Speaker 1 (54:23):
Follow the money, real good money.
Speaker 3 (54:26):
Yes, we are following the money with our main man,
Seamous McGee, team lead of sports trading for bet MGM.
All right, Seamus, We're getting down to the nitty gritty
here in the college football season, and you look at
the slate today, I've some big games, Georgia, Tennessee. How
about the Dogs fresh off a big win last week?
(54:48):
Any public money, any sharp money on the underdog valls
here today against the Dogs?
Speaker 9 (54:55):
Hey guys breaking me back. Yeah, it's we were a
ten and a half earlier in the week on Georgia
and some sharp play brought the line down the nine
and a half. Public is still really going after Georgia
on this one. It's a rare week where we're actually
gonna need Tennessee to keep this game close.
Speaker 4 (55:11):
Wow, that's pretty surprising. I saw Michigan was a pretty
pretty solid bet on the board. John Ewing gave us
the splits this morning. What are you seeing with the
Wolverines against Maryland? Because I'll be honest, I kind of
think it's a sneaky sandwich spot for the Turps. You
get Ohio State on deck for Michigan. Of course, the
emotional game last week and all the Jim Harbaughs stuff
(55:33):
in between.
Speaker 9 (55:34):
I was going to say, possibly a huge emotional letdown
spot after after seeing the coach after the game against
Penn State. You got to get up from Maryland now
in College Park. It's one way traffic on Michigan though,
hardly seeing any Maryland bets coming through. So Maryland's going
to be a big need for us this week. I
think a lot of a lot of a lot of
(55:56):
better seems like confirmed about like teams like Michigan and
Georgia and Alabama, like at the window this week when
it comes to like those teams, like a lot of
Georgia money after the big win there, and have a
ton of Michigan money coming in now.
Speaker 7 (56:10):
Maryland's got that high powered offense though they don't really
play much defense, especially in the passing game. Last three
or four weeks or so, they've really loved a lot
of opposing.
Speaker 2 (56:24):
To ma pickup on the.
Speaker 7 (56:28):
I think it's getting it's either up over fifty or
it's getting close to fifty at this point.
Speaker 9 (56:35):
Yeah, it's it's usually a lot of over's money whenever
Michigan or Maryland plays. We're sitting at forty nine and
a half right now, so there has been some sharper
play on the under here. I think it was fifty
two and a half earlier in the week. So I
still think we're gonna need a low scoring game here.
I think especially by kickoff, you know, a lot of
public money will come in usually back and be over there.
Speaker 3 (56:58):
How about one of the biggest night games of the day.
You've got Washington at Oregon State. Seen a lot of
money come in on the beaves. Is Washington a need
for you? Like the number five team in the country,
do you need them in this spot?
Speaker 9 (57:12):
It's an okay looking book right now, actually money coming
in on both sides. But it's gonna be an interesting
one to look at because I feel like there is
gonna be a lot of people who who see that
the you know, the team with the with the number
five or six next to their names is getting points
on the road. And you know, either they're gonna find
it very attractive or they're gonna think it's one of
(57:34):
those when of those quote unquote trap wise that we
here in Vegas love to throw out all the time.
So we'll see where we stand by kickoff. But it
certainly wasn't like a good book right now.
Speaker 4 (57:45):
Yeah, you guys know everything that's gonna happen before it happens.
That's why you set the lines accordingly to trap the
betters into coming in and making a mistake. Guys, nobody
knows squat here. They're setting the lines based off of
their numbers, and they're praying that on the right side,
just like we're all praying. I'm gonna be praying a
little bit later this afternoon when Louisville travels down to
(58:07):
Corgables to play Miami again. One of those spots, Seamus
Louisville one loss, top ten team pick them, even trending
towards a favorite. With the Hurricanes as a four loss
team at home. I'm assuming a lot of Louisville traffic
in this game.
Speaker 9 (58:23):
We've had a good chunk, especially from our Kentucky betters,
but I mean there's been shot money all over this game,
even on both side, kind of bounced back and forth
all week. I think we're gonna end up meeting Miami
by kickoff at noon, so we'll see, we'll see how
it stands. But yeah, I think we're probably gonna end
up being Hurricanes.
Speaker 2 (58:42):
All right, let's talk unders.
Speaker 7 (58:44):
The last I checked, the Iowa game was one of
the lowest numbers on the board, thirty two and a half.
I believe they're hosting Illinois. Tell me that's the most
bad ticket. And also, well, actually you don't even need
to tell me. It's the most beat tikke Seamous, that's
the most bad under, isn't it?
Speaker 9 (59:05):
It always is? But hey, Illinois got into a shootout
last week against We'll see how that goes. But yeah,
I mean it's it's always the case with highways. It's
kind of shocking, honestly.
Speaker 3 (59:21):
Okay, So where are you heading this week Seamus with
your pick? Are you going high profile big game hunting?
Or is this uh you got a couple of like
Florida State taking on North Alabama, Orbama hosting Chattanooga. You
know you got a couple of FCS options. Where are
you going with us this week?
Speaker 9 (59:41):
This is a This is a sacred week in the SEC.
Always every November, the week before Thanksgiving, they take a
break from their ruling SEC schedule that we're also thankful
that they play every years. Welcome the lights of the
the SoCon in the South. I'm gonna I need to
redeem myself after letting my mother down on our birthday.
Oh no, I'm gonna let you guys in on a
(01:00:03):
little system I have here that I usually do for
college football. It's from my database. It's around sixty four
goes up to sixty eight percent. When you look at
teams playing Inner Division FBS versus FDS, whenever the line,
there's a ten point difference between the line and the total.
I got the over, and it's been pretty fruitful so
(01:00:26):
far this year. And I know what you're thinking, like
of it goes to the difference goes to eleven. Yo,
is it's still good. This is good up till about
thirteen or fourteen points, and it's gonna be the over
in Alabama versus Chattanooga and the mock box got a
good offense. Alabama is really clicking so far after tripping
up against Texas. Right now, I think the spread is
(01:00:48):
forty one and a half and the total is at
about fifty two and a half. So I'm gonna take
me over there up until thirteen. There's the magic number
right there.
Speaker 7 (01:00:57):
Save that formula again, Jamus playing it a little bit
slower this time for.
Speaker 2 (01:01:02):
Us in the back of the.
Speaker 9 (01:01:05):
So whatever the total, the difference between the total and
the spread is ten points to like twelve or thirteen points. Yeah,
pick the open.
Speaker 4 (01:01:16):
So Alabama is a forty five point favorite, or actually
now I'm seeing forty. I manage on forty one and
a half and the totals fifty and a half. That's
ten point basically nine point split. There there you go.
Speaker 2 (01:01:26):
I love this. I love this so much.
Speaker 3 (01:01:28):
Okay, now is that in the background like life Shamus
riches in this hotel room the walls with like arithmetic
as artwork on one of the walls. I don't know
if that's part of the artwork right there, rich, I
love that is what we're gonna do.
Speaker 7 (01:01:41):
I'm gonna race some of this. I'm gonna add it
up there. Yeah, you take that over with it. Yeah,
there you go.
Speaker 2 (01:01:47):
Oh man, that's BEAUTI fantastic.
Speaker 4 (01:01:49):
I gotta be good.
Speaker 9 (01:01:51):
Uh you know, chalkboard in my office right now?
Speaker 2 (01:01:54):
There it is there, it is.
Speaker 3 (01:01:55):
Well Seamus, thanks for the time man as always, and
uh you know we're pulling for you and I might
get in on that.
Speaker 2 (01:02:01):
I love.
Speaker 4 (01:02:04):
Fifteen and a half at bet MGM is probably gonna
go up after we just said that.
Speaker 3 (01:02:08):
That's right, moving the market. That's his nickname, Seamous, moving
the market right there. We'll catch the next week, Shamus.
Enjoy the day man.
Speaker 9 (01:02:17):
Thanks guys.
Speaker 3 (01:02:18):
All right there he is Seamous, uh, team lead of
sports trading at BET MGM, that's fantastic.
Speaker 4 (01:02:25):
That is see again that those are things that how
the sausage is made, right, Yeah, yeah, I mean, I
I mean.
Speaker 7 (01:02:33):
And also he is the guy who is going to
bet like the off the path stuff because he likes
a local. Yeah exactly. Yeah, you know, you final you
don't have to you don't have to be an expert.
You just have to get away from where the sharks swim.
Speaker 3 (01:02:48):
That's right, yep, absolutely all right, speaking of the sharks swimming.
Speaker 7 (01:02:53):
That was.
Speaker 2 (01:02:56):
But it's with a smile on his.
Speaker 8 (01:02:59):
Dun dun dun dun dun dun dun dun dun dun
dun dun dun there.
Speaker 2 (01:03:03):
Is you know that is Ah, that's a minor second
right there.
Speaker 3 (01:03:08):
Oh, if you're playing at home, right with your intervals,
shout your intervals in music, right minor second.
Speaker 2 (01:03:14):
That's very impressive.
Speaker 7 (01:03:16):
Yeah, play that on the rhythm guitar, maybe on the
bass there, Brian, what do you think.
Speaker 2 (01:03:21):
It's right next to each other notes, right next to
no space in between?
Speaker 6 (01:03:24):
Right?
Speaker 4 (01:03:24):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (01:03:25):
Wow said, they're very impressive.
Speaker 8 (01:03:26):
It's just the real time translation of of the note
by by Brian there also impressive. The return of a
top tight end for the Pittsburgh Steelers. NFL media reports
that they plan to activate Pat Freremouth from injured reserve
today in advance of a huge showdown tomorrow as they
visit the Cleveland Browns. Both teams at six and three
(01:03:48):
in the NBA. On Friday night, the Phoenix Suns won
at Utah one thirty one to eight. Kevin Durant scored
thirty eight, including the game clinching three pointer with eighteen
seconds to play. Also at nine rebounds of ninus thirty
five for Lebron James and the Los Angeles Lakers one
oh seven ninety five win at Portland. The Philadelphia seventy
six ers improved in nine and three with a one
(01:04:09):
twenty six one sixteen victory at Atlanta behind thirty two
point seven rebounds at eight assists from Joel and Beid
Dearon Fox of the Sacramento Kings scored forty three and
their one twenty nine one twenty win at San Antonio
Sacameto on a five game winning streak. Victor Wembiniama scored
twenty seven for the Spurs. Added Orleans Pelicans knocked off
(01:04:30):
Denver one fifteen to one ten despite Niko le jokicch's
one hundred and tenth career triple double. He had twenty
six points, sixteen rebounds, and tied a career high with
eighteen assists, and Boston's Derek White Htagoa had three pointer
with twenty six point eight seconds remaining, helping the Celtics
win at Toronto one o eight to one oh five
(01:04:50):
to improve to ten and two.
Speaker 2 (01:04:52):
But that wasn't the story.
Speaker 8 (01:04:53):
The story was Canadian hip hop star Drake, who made
a special guest appearance on the Raptors telecast of the game.
Speaker 2 (01:05:03):
Here's a taste.
Speaker 4 (01:05:03):
I don't know where we're at.
Speaker 2 (01:05:05):
The court is a completely different colors. Peyton Richard's out
there looking like a crypto scat.
Speaker 5 (01:05:09):
This is crazy what's going on for us?
Speaker 8 (01:05:12):
I think that's the kind of incisive analysis that NBA
telecasts have been lacking.
Speaker 1 (01:05:17):
Back to you, guys, man.
Speaker 3 (01:05:20):
These in in season tournament courts have been wild. I like,
some of them are right and others I'm just like,
what are we?
Speaker 4 (01:05:29):
I was told they're better in person on TV, they
don't look as good.
Speaker 2 (01:05:34):
Again.
Speaker 4 (01:05:34):
This is someone who covers the bulls and I respect her.
She's very fashioned forward, She says in person, they look better,
I said.
Speaker 2 (01:05:40):
Okay, I believe I like that it looks better in persons.
Speaker 7 (01:05:46):
You know what.
Speaker 2 (01:05:50):
The pictures, Uh, just meet me in person. You'll be dazzled, right,
that's right.
Speaker 3 (01:05:56):
Yeah, yeah, I don't like great in pictures, but in person,
in person, just be prepared, be prepared.
Speaker 2 (01:06:02):
I'm a knockout. I'm just like one of those in
season tournament course.
Speaker 5 (01:06:05):
Never is a fantastic app dating app line.
Speaker 4 (01:06:11):
Although the problem is nobody probably knows what the n
season tournaments is.
Speaker 3 (01:06:16):
Most of the people, that's when you really found one,
you know, when someone's like I had to swipe right
just based on that.
Speaker 4 (01:06:25):
Maybe that's what I've been missing in is people that
just love the in person tournament.
Speaker 2 (01:06:30):
Could be the case.
Speaker 3 (01:06:31):
Hey, BETMGM is now available under one wallet in select states.
For example, if you're in the DMV area, no need
to worry about making separate accounts for DC, Maryland and
Virginia when crossing state borders. Simply just log into your
existing account instead of creating a new one. Okay, how
about this fellas putting the BS in FBS, that would
be the NC double A. So they have said no
(01:06:55):
to James Madison in particular, the Dukes are ten and
zero and they are not eligible for a ballgame as
of right now. Now they might sneak in if we
don't have enough six win teams, but they're ineligible. They've
made the jump from FCS to FBS, and there is
a mandatory two year transition period from one level to
(01:07:19):
the next where you're not eligible to play in a ballgame,
which is insane to me. So this week they appealed
that the NC DOUBLEA stood firm and said, no, no
fun for you, even though you're ten and zer not
eligible for a ballgame.
Speaker 2 (01:07:33):
This is so dumb to me. I got a crazy idea.
Speaker 3 (01:07:36):
How about instead of the NC DOUBLEA saying, you know what,
there's a transitional period here, let's let you ease in.
How about your record determines whether you're ready or not
for a bowl game. And if they're ten and oer
and leading the Sun Belt, they are fit for a
ball game. They're actually in the running if they were
(01:07:57):
eligible for a New Year six bowl game. They can't
even play in their conference championship game because of all this.
This is so stupid and it just doesn't make sense
to say, well, this is the way We've always done it.
There's no great reason to not reverse what the rule is.
The Dukes are getting done dirty over here.
Speaker 2 (01:08:16):
I hate it.
Speaker 7 (01:08:17):
Yeah, you know again, this kind of reminds me a
little bit of the Jim Harbaugh debate, and I don't
want to get back into that one, but you know
what I mean, like when a conference is filibustering and
making attempt to make it hard on one team, you know,
because the truth is, like James Madison, this is a
(01:08:39):
positive story.
Speaker 2 (01:08:40):
The Michigan story is a negative story. But this is
what it feels like.
Speaker 7 (01:08:44):
It's the bully pulpit the rest of these teams presidents
and their head coaches and their athletic directors have with
the ear of the Sunbelt commissioner saying no, no, no,
no no, We're not going to change the rules now.
Speaker 2 (01:08:55):
So you need to get on the horn with the.
Speaker 7 (01:08:58):
You know, the executives at the NCAA and make sure
that JMU doesn't get to win the Cell some Belt
title game.
Speaker 2 (01:09:04):
They can wait till next year, just like the rules say, well,
the rules are stupid, right, you know. And in this case,
I get it.
Speaker 7 (01:09:12):
If you're one of these other head football coaches where
all of a sudden, you're rolling your eyes, like really,
like these guys waltz into our conference and we're gonna
give them the championship.
Speaker 2 (01:09:22):
But I agree with you, Brian.
Speaker 7 (01:09:23):
They earned it. They're ten and oh, they're six and
oh against some Belt teams. They should be able to
win their division, they should be able to play for
a conference championship, and they absolutely should be able to
perform in a bowl game just like any other FBS team.
This is one of the dumbest decisions NCAA has ever made,
and they've made a lot of bad ones.
Speaker 4 (01:09:44):
Yeah, there used to be this rule that couldn't buy
or sell alcohol back in the early nineteen hundreds, and
then they said, you know what, maybe not the best rule,
Maybe we should change this. Right, rules are meant to
be broken based off of the era and the time
that they are past compared to the current state of
the world prohibition it made sense in nineteen nineteen when
(01:10:07):
Congress passed the law. Didn't make sense shortly after that
when they repealed the law. And I'm not gonna go
through the litany of trailblazers. There have been throughout the
course of history that have changed the rules James Madison
is one of those trailblazers. This rule was put in
place years ago when there was no transfer portal, there
(01:10:31):
was no NIL programs took a long time getting up
to speed. We are living in a different era now.
It is time to update and amend the rules.
Speaker 9 (01:10:43):
Now.
Speaker 4 (01:10:43):
The counter argument to that is not every program at
JMU is as successful as the football program. The irony
is the basketball team's also really successful. But a lot
of times those rules are put in place for the
lower level programs to also get up to speed, and
it's kind of the entire athletic program in a nutshell.
But let's be honest, football is its own separate entity.
(01:11:08):
A football team like JMU deserves whatever recognition that they
should get at the end of the season without the
glass ceiling of these rules. I totally agree that the
rule it and people push back at me this week
on social media when I said this is a dumb
decision by the ns TOLA and they're like, well, JMU
knew the rule, why did they try to go Well,
(01:11:28):
the rule needs to be moved, it needs to be changed,
it needs to be amended, but it wasn't. And unfortunately,
this is the reality we living.
Speaker 3 (01:11:36):
What's that jmu's fault. No, I don't understand that. Counter
arg they were mad they knew.
Speaker 4 (01:11:40):
JMU even applied to try to get a change because
they're like they knew the rules going in.
Speaker 2 (01:11:45):
Well why not try?
Speaker 3 (01:11:47):
I agree, it makes no sense to not try. I
just don't understand the NCAA's thinking. Where if this is, well, hey,
there was a team years ago that if they were eligible,
they would have got into a bowl game and they
got screwed out of that. So it's not fair to
them to let the Dukes go. I don't know if
that's what they're thinking. But you mentioned it, Jared. That's
(01:12:08):
like nil, Like we didn't have nil the whole time,
and the thinking wasn't while these other you know, student athletes,
they didn't make a buck off their name, image and likeness.
So why should players now, Well, because it's the right
thing to do, right, Like, it's the same thing with
this mandatory two year transitional period. If some team got
(01:12:28):
screwed way back when, well that's too bad. It should
have been changed back then too. It doesn't mean that
James Madison and Jacksonville State should pay the price for
it now. And if the thinking is, well, if we
change this, we're gonna have to change all kinds of
other stuff. And just because you changed one thing doesn't
mean you have to change everything. It's like, what's the
better argument? This, to me is like overturning a call
(01:12:51):
in a game, just one play if you go to replay.
I don't think it has to be one hundred percent,
you know, indisputable if you can make a better argument
that it was a fumble or the guy's feet feet
were inbounds or whatever. If you could make a better argument,
then overturn it. So I don't see how you could
make a better argument for not allowing James Madison to
(01:13:14):
get into a bowl game.
Speaker 2 (01:13:15):
And that's where they're stupid to me.
Speaker 7 (01:13:17):
So reading through a Yahoo article, there is a way
that they'll be eligible for a postseason.
Speaker 2 (01:13:23):
Bowl, right, Yeah, but not you don't have Yeah yeah,
but but like, I mean, how how awful is that?
Speaker 4 (01:13:33):
Right?
Speaker 7 (01:13:33):
You have to you have to sit there and watch
on on as the rest of the season unfolds. And
this could be a twelve to zero football team if
they beat app State in Coastal Carolina. Not eligible because
you can't be ranked by the CFP for those New
Year six Bowl games like you mentioned, not eligible for
the first round of ball bids and invites. But if
there are enough five and seven football teams in the country,
(01:13:54):
then you get your invite.
Speaker 2 (01:13:56):
It's silly, it's awful. Then then you're okay.
Speaker 3 (01:13:59):
Then then to tory two year thing that we just
throw that out the that's so stupid, doesn't make sen.
What does make sense is Rich Hornberger, Penn State All American.
Thank will also makes sense, Jared Smith FSR, betting analyst.
Speaker 2 (01:14:13):
That makes sense. You're your moment. I have almost all
of it. There you go, Thank you.
Speaker 3 (01:14:20):
Yeah, coming up next, prop it up. We'll see how
much sense we make. And dollars as well, dollars en cents.
Speaker 4 (01:14:28):
What do you think about that transition always makes the
transitions elite.
Speaker 2 (01:14:34):
Thank you. I appreciate that. I will have some picks

Speaker 2 (01:15:33):
All right, let's do this.
Speaker 1 (01:15:36):
Prop it up player plays.
Speaker 3 (01:15:41):
Yes, love the prop bet. So many options in college football.
We'll start with you, Jared. What's something on your uh,
your docket? Your list over there for it?
Speaker 6 (01:15:51):
Well?
Speaker 4 (01:15:51):
I never do this, guys, but I'm looking at a
rushing prop with a quarterback today and it's Jane Daniels. Right. Yeah,
the number I'm seeing is around sixty five. Again, check
bet mgm for the current odds. These numbers tend to
change very quickly. But you look at what and this
goes back to Richard's point from earlier in the show
(01:16:11):
with Drake Man, I'm trying to get him situated for
the number one pick. I think the same could be
said about Jayden and Daniels in the Heisman Again. I've
seen some steam this week on Daniel and it looks
like if it's not one of these Pac twelve quarterbacks,
like if both of Oregon and Washington lose down the stretch,
Daniels might be like the de facto default winner just
(01:16:32):
because of how amazing of a season he's had. But
he ran for two thirty four last week.
Speaker 5 (01:16:37):
He ran for two thirty four.
Speaker 4 (01:16:40):
I'll go over it on Dane.
Speaker 3 (01:16:41):
Dane gets sixty three and a half. By the way, Jack,
but I hear you man against Georgia State, Yeah, you
should go nuts, all right.
Speaker 2 (01:16:50):
And just when you think it's like he's just gonna
throw it, he doesn't need to rely on his legs.
That's not how he rolled.
Speaker 4 (01:16:55):
No, And he went for one sixty two to two
weeks ago.
Speaker 3 (01:16:57):
So he might against Lambas and he missed like the
fourth quarter against bamauth crazy.
Speaker 2 (01:17:04):
Oh yeah, that's true. Too.
Speaker 7 (01:17:05):
Yeah he was out or well it wasn't out, but
just didn't play, all right. I got two quarterbacks, and
both of them I'm taking over on their passing yardage.
Speaker 2 (01:17:16):
JJ McCarthy last week he only threw for sixty yards.
Speaker 7 (01:17:20):
Again n State, he only threw it eight times because
the Nittany Lions just couldn't stop Blake korm in that
run game. He had over three hundred yards of the
game before. So Maryland can't stop the pass. I'm taking
JJ McCarthy over his two thirty and a half passing
yardage total. And then let's take a look at this
Washington Huskies Oregon State game.
Speaker 2 (01:17:42):
DJU very solid year.
Speaker 7 (01:17:44):
Huskies ranked one hundred twenty second in the country in
pass yardage allowed. I'm taking the over on Ui Angila
lay two hundred forty eight and a half passing yards there.
Speaker 2 (01:17:56):
See. Now, I want to take an under just because
I feel like this is a meal. You know what
I mean. It's like you know you need you need
a vegetable, you know what.
Speaker 4 (01:18:07):
I'm just like, vegetable vegetable.
Speaker 5 (01:18:10):
This is Saturday college football.
Speaker 4 (01:18:12):
Come on me, Mets.
Speaker 2 (01:18:16):
There's a prop I love.
Speaker 3 (01:18:18):
If you look at North Carolina running back Omarion Hampton.
He is on an absolute freaking heater the last five games,
well over one hundred yards in each of those games.
He's at Clemson today, and Clemson plays solid rush defense.
Speaker 2 (01:18:33):
I don't think it matters today.
Speaker 3 (01:18:34):
This guy ranks second nationally in yards per game rushing wise,
and his PROP is at eighty five and a half.
Speaker 2 (01:18:42):
I'm taking the over on Hampton today.
Speaker 3 (01:18:44):
When you got Drake May as your quarterback and you're
balanced right as your offensive attack, I just think Hampton's
gonna run for at least eighty six today. He might
crack triple digits, but I'm going to Marion Hampton over
eighty five and a half.
Speaker 4 (01:18:59):
I agree the one.
Speaker 2 (01:19:02):
That's it. That's all we need. It's just ice cream,
all day, ice cream, breakfast, ice cream, ice cream dinner.
It's over day long.
Speaker 3 (01:19:09):
It's fine, all gas, no breaks, it's all overs, no unders. Yeah,
that's how we get down. That's what we'll do over here,
all right? Coming up next arguably the matchup of the
day and should you have fade the higher ranked team.
Speaker 1 (01:19:23):
Fox Sports Radio has the best sports talk lineup in

Speaker 2 (01:19:35):
Oh what's going on? Everybody?
Speaker 3 (01:19:36):
It is count down to kickoff over here, presented by
BETMGM on Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 2 (01:19:42):
Man, I'll tell you what I'm low on. Sleep.
Speaker 3 (01:19:45):
I couldn't sleep last night, really yeah. I went to
bed around I don't even know two two thirty, and
I woke up around six thirty Central time and the
show starts at eight, and I was like, I can't sleep.
Speaker 2 (01:20:00):
I'm just gonna get up. I don't know what it
is with today, man, I am. It's a goo rare
and to go and that's the way to do it.
Speaker 7 (01:20:09):
Yeah, don't try to beat the sleep, just yeah, hop
out of bed, get your day started, and fire up
the engine a little bit earlier.
Speaker 2 (01:20:15):
Get a great night's sleep tonight, that's for sure.
Speaker 4 (01:20:17):
Sleep when you're dead, Brian, You're good.
Speaker 2 (01:20:19):
There you go. Sleep is for the week.
Speaker 1 (01:20:22):
We all know that.
Speaker 2 (01:20:24):
By the way, Jared, are you gonna check out some
F one action to know?
Speaker 4 (01:20:28):
I'm saying as far away from the strip as possible,
did you? So? They had they canceled the practice the
other night because there was a loose manhole cover in
the middle of the street.
Speaker 2 (01:20:40):
Yep.
Speaker 4 (01:20:41):
Imagine you're an F one fan and you spend thousands
of dollars to travel to Las Vegas to watch the race,
and the first event is this practice that gets canceled
like thirty minutes in. It's been a disaster. Everyone on
the strip hates it. I can't wait till it's over, and.
Speaker 3 (01:21:00):
I swear everyone from Vegas sounds very grouchys and I
get it right, like the traffic and moving around and
if you're not going, I get it.
Speaker 2 (01:21:13):
But it's just funny. It's cool.
Speaker 4 (01:21:15):
The visuals look incredible, it looks awesome, but they have
completely turned the strip into a sandbox, and not the
good kind that you're playing, like the kind you stay
away from because you're worried about getting sand in your
butt crack.
Speaker 2 (01:21:31):
There's no smooth transition from that to me. But hey,
let's dive into this the matchup of the day. Let's
do it.
Speaker 4 (01:21:41):
The day.
Speaker 3 (01:21:42):
Number five Washington against number eleven Oregon State. The money
has been crazy in this game, so right now on
bet MGM, Washington is favored. They're a one point favorite.
Speaker 2 (01:21:55):
On the road.
Speaker 3 (01:21:57):
Total is sixty two and a half. Start with you
Jared like just the the movement money wise from hey,
we're on the Huskies. There was a lot of money
come in on the Beaves. Now we get the buy
back on Washington where they're favored on the road. What
do you think about all this movement for starters.
Speaker 4 (01:22:16):
I don't love my position on Oregon State. I still
think Oregon State's the right side those guys, and it's
it's more of a it's more of a trench's styles
make fights kind of thing, like Oregon State has the
ability to beat up Washington in the trenches, where I
don't think Washington has that ability. They need more finesse,
(01:22:38):
They need all of the pieces to fit together nicely
for Michael Pennix Junior to kind of paint the canvas,
where I think Oregon State can just kind of line
up and slam it right down your throat.
Speaker 5 (01:22:50):
And I think that's what they're gonna do.
Speaker 4 (01:22:52):
And I think it's Damian Martinez and it's Fenwick and
it's Dju with his legs, and I think Washington's defense
is gonna be in for today. I mean even against
you see, without Marshaun Lloyd, they just ran all over
that Huskies defense and Caleb Williams made a couple of
mistakes and that's why they ended up losing the game.
But I think this is a really tough matchup for
Washington's defense. Now, their offense could could steal the show
(01:23:13):
and Michael Pennix Junior could put on that Heisman type
performance that could you know, ruin this bet for me.
But I think this is Beaver's a pass.
Speaker 7 (01:23:22):
Yeah, you know, it's Oregon State's offense against Washington's offense.
Speaker 2 (01:23:27):
I really do look at it that way.
Speaker 7 (01:23:30):
I know the focus should be on the defense, especially
since Oregon State has a really good one. They're really
good at limiting explosive plays in that in that category,
they're they're ranked eighteenth best in the country limiting the
fifteen yard passing place. However, we know Pennix Junior and
that Washington Huskies offense, they're bread and butter. Is is
(01:23:53):
throwing the ball and getting it downfield in a hurry
with that receiving corps, which is the highest grade in
the country. Oregon State, though offensively, has leaned on the run,
so you would think, Okay, it's a Damian Martinez game.
He's been such a hammer for this offense but not
so fast. The Huskies actually stopped the run better than
they stop the pass. We just talked about this and
(01:24:14):
prop it up. I mean, the the Washington football team.
They don't they don't, I don't need I'm not even
sure if they field all five defensive backfield players because
they are like a broken sieve back there. So I'm
expecting Dju to have a better game than he normally does.
(01:24:36):
I'm expecting Washington to be a little bit steingier against
a run. So it really comes down to which team
has the best offensive output, even though this should be
a physical matchup at the line of scrimmage and probably
the most physical matchup for Washington this entire season.
Speaker 3 (01:24:52):
Well, that's one thing, you know, you touched on this, Jared,
where Dju, You know, Djuey ungle La lay. His rushing
prop is at thirteen and a half, and of course
you have to factor in sack yardage. That counts against
the quarterback's individual rushing total, which is crazy in college football.
So if Washington's able to sack Dju a handful of times,
(01:25:16):
that counts against his rushing yards. But thirteen and a half,
he's gonna tuck it and run he's gonna do some
damage with his legs.
Speaker 2 (01:25:24):
I agree with you.
Speaker 3 (01:25:24):
I think Oregon State just collectively is gonna run the
ball over and over and over, and with Damien Martinez,
he should have a big day. I just look at
Washington and it's where do you begin to try to
slow him down. It's amazing what Arizona State did on
the road against Washington, but Pennix Junior has been unbelievable.
(01:25:46):
And you look at Dylan Johnson the last two weeks,
He's rushed for three hundred and sixty yards and five
touchdowns in two games. Now, most of that was against USC,
but he had a nice day against Utah last week.
So if you're able to have some balance with Dylan Johnson,
I don't know how well the Beaves gonna be able
to slow down the Huskies tonight.
Speaker 4 (01:26:07):
That's that's the other side of the anticap and that's
probably why you've seen some money come in on Washington today.
I think it could be Jalen McMillan.
Speaker 5 (01:26:16):
I don't think so.
Speaker 4 (01:26:17):
When I gave this out this morning at betem Jim,
it was Oregon State minus too. Now it's Oregon State
plus one. Now is that gonna deter me from betting
Oregon State. No, already bet Oregon State. Not gonna you know,
panic just because the line crossed over zero. But I
think Jalen McMillan being back from injury today. He played
a little bit last week, but not much, and I
(01:26:38):
think maybe someone caught win that he's feeling good. But
I don't think that would make the line move three
points in an hour. I think something else is going
on there. Maybe a really sharp group liked Washington gave
him out this morning, and that pushed the line over
that threshold of zero. It's kind of it is a
very interesting contrasting styles game. So I understand why reasonable
(01:27:00):
minds would differ on the outcome because it's.
Speaker 5 (01:27:03):
Very much air Raid twenty twenty, you know, forward.
Speaker 4 (01:27:07):
Thinking offense in Washington against the eighties, nineties, ground and
pound Oregon State kind of team. So there might just
be a really sharp group out there that likes the Huskies.
But it seems like to me this is a pretty
fair book. We heard Seamus McGee said, action on both sides.
So maybe it crosses back over later tonight. You those
games is not till later tonight. Maybe we go back
(01:27:28):
to Oregon State as a favorite later tonight. But I'm
standing firm with my Beavers picked and I'm even wear
the Beaver shirt.
Speaker 5 (01:27:33):
Guys, how can I not pick the people there?
Speaker 1 (01:27:34):
Here?
Speaker 6 (01:27:35):
You go?
Speaker 2 (01:27:35):
Yeah, I think it's a coin flip, you really do.
Speaker 3 (01:27:39):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (01:27:39):
I think you can make a great argument, a great
argument that Oregon State defends home turf. I think you
can make a great argument that Washington remains undefeated. Uh.
Speaker 2 (01:27:49):
It's there's a lot to play for here for both
these squads.
Speaker 7 (01:27:52):
Oregon State head coach Jonathan Smith has done an amazing
job with this program. Uh, and and really finishing the
season strong, the same way you're talking about Drake May
for his Heisman candidacy, and you know his draft prospects
and what that does for you, and see similarly for
Oregon State.
Speaker 2 (01:28:09):
You know, if if you can become.
Speaker 7 (01:28:11):
Transfer you at quarterback, right, if you can turn a
kind of a tough luck situation around into a potential
NFL prospect, and you can get quarterbacks around the country
trusting that you're the place to go to rehab your
image because you're paired with a great offensive line in
a great running game every year. Boy, oh boy, does
(01:28:34):
that help your program. So a lot to play for
on both of these sides. And we know the story
with Pennix Junior. He has a Heisman candidacy on that side.
It's a coin flip. So yeah, I mean, if you're
if you're rolling with Oregon State, if that's what your
gut tells you, I say stick with it, because there's
an argument.
Speaker 2 (01:28:50):
To be made that the Beeves get the win here.
Speaker 3 (01:28:52):
Yeah, you can't be deterred if you're wearing a Beav shirt.
There's a little bit of one move, you know you.
Speaker 4 (01:28:58):
I am also state over eight wins will be decided today,
probably because they play Oregon next week.
Speaker 3 (01:29:04):
So how about that one two combo play Washington followed
by Oregon for the Beaves. But I'm with you Rich,
it's a great point about Jonathan Smith. It wasn't that
long ago before j Smith was the head coach, the
Beaves were an absolute freaking doormat.
Speaker 2 (01:29:22):
And look where they're at now, Like they've made tremendous.
Speaker 3 (01:29:26):
Strides with Jonathan Smith. And this would obviously be the
biggest win. You take down an undefeated team that's ranked
number five in the country and all eyes unused the
nationally televised night game. It's a big, big deal for
the Beaves and hey, we'll see if they're up for
the challenge tonight. That is a tough, tough offense to
try to match points with, but they're capable of doing it.
Speaker 2 (01:29:48):
They just have to do it.
Speaker 3 (01:29:50):
That's when it comes out. Might be capable, you actually
do it, and we'll see if the Beaves can do
it tonight. I'm excited for that one man, big time.
Speaker 2 (01:29:57):
That's that's a big game.
Speaker 7 (01:29:58):
And you know what, the Pack twelve is fan for this,
Like as soon as we get comfortable talking about one
of their teams, like oh Washington, I mean on their
way to undefeated season.
Speaker 2 (01:30:07):
Just two more wins and then what happens. Chaos happens,
that's what.
Speaker 7 (01:30:12):
And it's gonna be interesting because now the PAC twelve
going away. Now it's just the PAC two and Oregon
State is one of those two remaining teams left. And
you know, also have that kind of simmering on the
background of the profile of this game, like Oregon State,
this is their last big bite at the Apple before
(01:30:32):
the exactly this is their last Pack twelve home game
and then they're gonna be in a scheduling alliance with
the Mountain West where you're gonna have all the mount
West teams play seven games against one one another and
then one against either Washington State or Oregon State for
the next two years. Potentially they're gonna be voting on
this soon. And holy smokes, I mean, so this is
(01:30:54):
this is your opportunity here, this is where the rubber
meets road.
Speaker 4 (01:30:57):
How does College Game Day not go to Corp Dallas today?
And I understand the JM you love and they deserve
the love. And maybe it was like a lobbying to
get the n C double A to fix the stupid
rule that we talked about in the last second, But
how is college Game Day not in Corvallis for this?
Speaker 3 (01:31:14):
Goodness, gracious, I'm still on How next year is the
PAC twelve still a conference with just two teams?
Speaker 2 (01:31:24):
That's literally a thing? What is it for years or
something like that?
Speaker 4 (01:31:29):
Alice a lot yaest year?
Speaker 7 (01:31:31):
Right?
Speaker 2 (01:31:32):
So that's that was. Yeah, I'm gonna be up there
a ton. Yeah, I better get used to it.
Speaker 4 (01:31:40):
Rich.
Speaker 7 (01:31:40):
Yeah, I'm gonna be heading to the damn boys. I'm
gonna be heading back to the dam.
Speaker 4 (01:31:45):
They were brought to you by Dallas on that chalkboard
behind you there.
Speaker 5 (01:31:49):
Yeah, let me see you know, down the highway, up
the river through the woods X.
Speaker 2 (01:31:54):
Two plus x fifteen. No, that's not up there, not
up there.
Speaker 3 (01:31:58):

In the background, right there on the road hotel room,
we've got Jared Smith FSR betting analyst. Not going to
the F one race this evening, Absolutely not. I will
based on amount of my money. Brian coming up next.
This is a huge matchup, two ranked teams and we'll
(01:32:39):
stay in the conference. Another intriguing matchup as well. We'll
throw those at you. Right around the corner. We're about
forty five minutes away from kickoff. It is Fox Sports

Speaker 2 (01:33:27):
All right, let's do this.
Speaker 1 (01:33:29):
Let's go SEC matchup of the day.
Speaker 2 (01:33:33):
That would be number one Georgia against number eighteen Tennessee. Look, man,
it feels like groundhog Day.
Speaker 3 (01:33:42):
We talked about Carson Beck last week heading into the
Old Miss game and he went crazy, had a great game,
and so we'll see if he can do that again.
His passing yardage props at two eighty five and a
half at BETMGM. And that's the question for tennissee right,
can you slow down this dog's offense? Georgia has Both
(01:34:05):
teams have transitioned really if you think about from last
year to this year, Georgia the last two years dominant defense,
they're led by their offense more this season they've played
really strong football, offensively stronger than defensively. Tennessee. It was
all about the big play last year. Now it's running
game and defense. So it's a big test for them
(01:34:27):
against Carson Beck and the Dogs who have Lad McConkey
and also brock Bauers going today. So we'll see if
Tennessee's defense if they can slow down Georgia's offense.
Speaker 2 (01:34:37):
But it's role reversal.
Speaker 3 (01:34:39):
Normally you'd be talking about, hey, can Georgia slow down
this high powered Tennessee offense.
Speaker 2 (01:34:44):
It's the opposite this year. Yeah, yeah, completely agree with
what you said.
Speaker 7 (01:34:49):
And I think I've been holding onto this one all
show long, and I was gonna see if I could
wait until rapid fire to unleash it. But I think
Georgia absolutely pounds Tennessee in this one. I think this
is the second, you know, top twenty five team that
Georgia man handles, and it's it was what two weeks
(01:35:11):
ago they annihilated Ole, miss Or No, that was last
week by thirty five points. They beat up on Missouri
a nine point victory two weeks ago. I just think
they're gonna keep the train rolling. I think I think
one of the things that you mentioned earlier in this season, Brian,
(01:35:32):
that has been a through line all year long for
Georgia is it feels like they were battling themselves. Like
in the national media, the way that the CFP and
the way that we're just being discussed was, oh, this
isn't a Georgia team like the past two years Georgia teams.
And they've really turned on the after burners. I mean
(01:35:52):
they're wide open, they're they're they're they're, they're a bruiser
and they are rolling to.
Speaker 2 (01:35:58):
The finish line. I got Georgia in a big way today. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (01:36:02):
I like that we're finally coming around to the notion
that Georgia is an offensive team. Last year we were
not there. We still viewed Georgia in this defensive mindset.
And don't get me wrong, their defense is good, but
you compare this year's defense to even last year's defense,
and it's a step below. They're without their best tackling
(01:36:23):
linebacker Doumus Johnson, and I don't think they're as buttoned
up defensively as they've been in prior years.
Speaker 5 (01:36:31):
This is a tricky spot today.
Speaker 4 (01:36:32):
You got Tennessee coming off of that halacious blowout last week.
I was on the balls last week dead wrong. Missouri
absolutely whooped them three yards per rush before first contact,
and just every play they ran seemed to be successful
against Tennessee last week. How did the balls bounce back
from that? Maybe they were looking ahead to this Georgia game,
(01:36:54):
and I think I think when you look at Georgia
at their core, it's hard to really digest them being
an offensive team because of how well they've been defensively
over the last couple of years. But that is their identity.
They are a better offensive team than defensive team. So
if they can get the offense repped up, and they
could just get a couple of stops because Tennessee is
(01:37:15):
so boom or bust. With Milton a quarterback, they run
it pretty well. They didn't run it well last week,
but usually they run it pretty well. Yeah, I could
see this being a blowout today if that Georgia offense revs.
But man, something about their defense tells me, Like you
go watch the Missouri game against Georgia, they ran it
well against them. I just I think Georgia's defense is
gonna leave the back door open here, but their offense
is elite.
Speaker 3 (01:37:36):
I think it starts for Tennessee with slowing down the
run and running the ball. I really do, because that's
how they're built. This isn't Hendon Hooker just slinging it
all over the place like last year. Like Jared just said,
Joe Milton is much more inconsistent. Like his passing yardage
(01:37:57):
prop is at two ten and a half today. You
know what I mean, Tennessee, that's not crazy. That's not
like Pennis Junior in the three hundred territory. They're only
gonna do so much through the air, and so they
gotta be able to run the ball. And they couldn't
begin to slow.
Speaker 2 (01:38:14):
Down Cody Schrader and Missouri last week.
Speaker 3 (01:38:18):
Cody Schrader went freaking crazy and Missouri at collectively running
the ball what they run for two fifty five last week.
Speaker 4 (01:38:27):
Three yards rush before first contact. I mean that means
you're getting three yards of ground before anyone.
Speaker 5 (01:38:33):
Even touches you.
Speaker 3 (01:38:34):
Yeah, that's it's got to be way better against Georgia,
because that's at the heart of Georgia. They are a
physical team. They can throw it around and they can
finesse you as well, but they are physical and if
you don't have an answer for their physicality. They're like, oh,
you don't have an answer for Patrick Ewing on the
low block chain, Well, guess who's getting fed over and
(01:38:57):
over and over and over again.
Speaker 2 (01:38:59):
They're just gonna on that if you don't have an
answer for it. So I think he's got to have
an answer for their running game.
Speaker 7 (01:39:06):
You want to watch one of the better matchups in
terms of, you know, a high prized edge rusher against
a really really solid offensive tackle. The battle that's going
to be happening in the background not a lot of
people are going to pay attention to it is James
Pierce Junior against Marius Mims. So Mims, excuse me, has
(01:39:26):
one of the best edge rushing grades in the country.
Is like a top five edge rusher. And then on
the other side, yeah, or excuse me, Uh, that's Pierce
Junior Mims. He's missed a bunch of games with an
ankle injury, but over one hundred pass blocking snaps he
hasn't let up a single sack. So at right tackle
(01:39:47):
check and by and Pierce Junior lines up of the
right tackle like the majority of the snaps. So if
you're looking for a trenches battle to focus in on,
that could have a huge impact on this game, obviously,
with how crucial it is to protect your quarterback in
that Georgia offense. Take a look at what's happening at
the bottom of your screen when they're going left to right,
at the top of your screen, when they're going right
to left.
Speaker 2 (01:40:07):
It's gonna be a lot of fun.
Speaker 4 (01:40:09):
I love those matchups within the matchups because I think
they I think when you have teams like Georgia and Tennessee,
these are professional, like, these are pros playing each other today,
right Like, there's so many of those little matchups, And
I think Carson Beck, let's circle it back to what
I think is the most intriguing back half of a
(01:40:30):
season that anyone's ever had. No one really knew what
we were gonna get with Carson Beck this year. Even
Carson admitted about mid season during I forget which game
he was interviewed for by CBS, but I remember watching
it and he said, I haven't played meaningful football since twenty.
Speaker 5 (01:40:45):
Twenty, my senior year in high school.
Speaker 6 (01:40:47):
Wow.
Speaker 4 (01:40:48):
And then he goes to Georgia. He sits behind I
forget who it was two years ago, and then Stetson
Bennett and now twenty twenty three, finally three years later,
playing meaningful football again. It took him a while. It
took the Georgia offense a few weeks to.
Speaker 5 (01:41:05):
Kind of figure it out.
Speaker 4 (01:41:06):
But man, the last month even without Brock Bauers, and
by the way, is back. But we'll see how many
snaps he played. He didn't play much last week. I
just don't see how George's offense, you know, is slowed
in this game. But the defense is where Dave struggled.
It's kind of ironic that going into the Collegero ball
playoff and the SEC championship game, it's Alabama's offense against
(01:41:27):
George's defense, and I'm like, does Alabama have an edge here?
But Georgia's offense still, I think, is one of the
more underrated units in the country.
Speaker 3 (01:41:37):
Man, I had to go back and look Jared. So
it's been Stetson Bennett the last couple of years. There's
also Stetson Bennett. You go back to twenty twenty and JT.
Daniels there you go, remember JT.
Speaker 2 (01:41:49):
Daniels has to be like he's on Rice now.
Speaker 4 (01:41:53):
He was still playing close.
Speaker 2 (01:41:55):
Yeah, to be in a household name and he's on
what his fourth school, right is the st.
Speaker 3 (01:42:02):
Yeah he's been around, Yeah, JT. Daniels USC Georgia, West Virginia, Rice.
Speaker 2 (01:42:10):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (01:42:12):
Well that's college football. That is such a modern college
football story these days, isn't it Like the fact that
there's so much fluidity with the transfer portal. You know,
if you get stuck behind a guy that the offensive
coordinator or the head coach falls in love with, you,
don't you don't just have to suck it up and say, well,
I guess it was a good run. I'll just go
and be a CPA now.
Speaker 2 (01:42:33):
Like, no, you can.
Speaker 7 (01:42:35):
You could get out of that situation and go try
to light it up for a different program, or you know,
potentially you might have to move a couple of times
if you If you're a JT.
Speaker 2 (01:42:44):
Daniels, I don't know, how is he doing? Where's he
with Troit?
Speaker 4 (01:42:48):
He's been banking.
Speaker 3 (01:42:52):
Twenty one touchdown seven picks, he's been in the act,
he's over in the American you know there, I'm just saying,
I can't imagine if you're a competitive person and you
don't want to, you know, have the shifty eyes all
through life, it would be really, really hard not to
if you're j T. Daniels, your neck and neck with
(01:43:12):
this walk on Stet's and Bennett, and Bennett earns the
gig and he goes on to win two rings and
you're at Rice.
Speaker 4 (01:43:21):
But the question is would you stay? Like I might stay.
Speaker 2 (01:43:25):
These guys, like these.
Speaker 4 (01:43:26):
Kids, they they get told no and then they want
to leave right away and they don't stick at stick
things out.
Speaker 3 (01:43:32):
Well that's true, but think about on the other side,
what if? What what if DJ you just stayed at Clemson.
He's holding a flipboard right now, you know, use a bit.
Speaker 4 (01:43:42):
Of a different animal because of how highly recruited he was,
right he was.
Speaker 3 (01:43:47):
I'm just saying there's a flip side to it, Like
think about his burrow and you know Baker Mayfield, Jalen Hurts.
Speaker 2 (01:43:55):
Yeah, list goes on and on.
Speaker 4 (01:43:57):
So I hear you trust It's an interesting dynamic, like
the kids who decide to stay, like there was a
lit Michigan both Schambcker one of my favorite lines, even
though I hate Michigan. Those who stay will be champions,
It's my favorite line.
Speaker 3 (01:44:11):
Yeah, those who stay will see their head coach suspended
for three games sign stealing.
Speaker 4 (01:44:17):
Skose who stay will go in the transferportal and get
to nil and make millions not playing football.
Speaker 3 (01:44:23):
Oh there's that too, someone who makes millions with award
winning updates mixed with information style flair.
Speaker 2 (01:44:32):
That would be Isaac Loewen. And we're just waiting for
his sharp pick of the day. What we're waiting for
over here.
Speaker 8 (01:44:40):
My sharp pick of the day is witty comments related
to what you were just talking about. Because Michigan is
trending as we speak, and most specifically, the phrase free
Harbaugh is trending because coming up at the top of
the hour, the number three Wolveriniams will be visiting Maryland.
The reason free Harbaugh is ending right now, well, Michigan
(01:45:01):
receiver Roman Wilson took the field for early warmups today
wearing a free Harbaugh T shirt. Now for further incisive analysis,
as deep and as knowledgeable as possible. Where other place
to turn? Then the comments section? You ready fellas all right?
(01:45:24):
These are reactions to Roman Wilson's free Harbaugh T shirt
during warmups. Keegan reacting and I quote, ooh damn, Marilynd
better watch out. Michigan about to come out swinging and
drop fourteen on those poor turps.
Speaker 1 (01:45:40):
Nico.
Speaker 8 (01:45:41):
I'd be wearing that T shirt too, but your processing
slash shipping team is slower than molasses. Aaron commenting, Hey,
Harbaugh is free six out of seven days of the week.
And finally, Enzo saying of Roman Wilson, he didn't even
catch a pass last week against Penn State. He should
focus on getting himself free, Enzo weighing in NFL media
(01:46:06):
reports the Pittsburgh Steelers plan to activate tight end Pat
Freiermuth from injured reserve today. Steelers will be visiting the
Cleveland Browns tomorrow in a huge game with both teams
six and three, and in the NBA on Friday night,
the Phoenix Suns one at Utah one thirty one to
one twenty eight. Kevin Durant the game clinching three pointer
with eighteen seconds to go. He finished with thirty eight points,
(01:46:28):
nine rebounds, and nine assists. Lebron James scored thirty five
in the Los Angeles Lakers one oh seven to ninety
five win at Portland. The Blazers on a six game
losing streak. Fellas all yours, thank you, I lo.
Speaker 3 (01:46:40):
It is Fox Sports Radio's Capdown to kick Off, presented
by Bett MGM reminder, shortly after this show ends, our
podcast will be going up. If you miss any of
the today's show, be sure to check out the podcast.
All I have to do is search Fox Sports Radio
wherever you get your podcasts. Also be sure to follow,
rate and review the podcast. So again and just search
Fox Sports Radio wherever you get your podcasts, and you'll
(01:47:03):
see this show posted right after we get off the year. Okay, quick,
twenty four second not even twenty four second shot clock.
We get an offensive rebound fourteen seconds on the shot clock.
Speaker 2 (01:47:16):
Here. We'll go through as mandy games as possible.
Speaker 3 (01:47:19):
Florida at number nine. Missouri, you were talking rich about
Jonathan Smith with the Beeves. Shout out to Eli Drinkwitz.
Miszoo was freaking awful for a long time, and Eli
Drinkwitz got him as the number nine team in the
country and they smacked Tennessee last week. We'll see if
they can do it against Florida today.
Speaker 7 (01:47:40):
Yeah, I Florida is gonna be fighting an uphill battle here.
Missouri is a completely different looking program these days. What
are they double digit underdogs? I think the eleven and
a half points whatever it was earlier this week it's
may have climbed, yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:47:57):
I tigers man. Yeah, good luck to the Gators.
Speaker 4 (01:48:03):
Yeah, saw it go from ten and a half to
now sitting eleven and a half at that MGM, so
some money on Missouri. I think it's all about Brady Cook, right, guys.
I think that's been the biggest surprise for me this
year is how well he has handled everything. He was hurt,
Luther Burden, his best player in out of the lineup,
then back in. We were debating his props on the
group chat this morning. I think it's probably a stay
(01:48:24):
away because of the injury. But man, this Florida defense
they've been they've been battered around at times, and Missouri's
got the offense to really put them in the in
the meat grinder today.
Speaker 3 (01:48:34):
It might be a play on the under based on
the injury, you know, eighty three and a half. How
about UCLA against USC six and four Bruins, seven and
four Trojans and this is man, this had the potential
to be such a bigger game. Instead, both teams are
unranked and it's at twelve thirty am local time.
Speaker 2 (01:48:57):
It's just like and oh, by the way, games, what
it's turned into?
Speaker 3 (01:49:01):
Yeah?
Speaker 7 (01:49:02):
Perfect opportunity though for UCLA to fix their offensive issues.
US defense is terrible.
Speaker 4 (01:49:08):
Uh.
Speaker 7 (01:49:09):
They fired Alex Grinch as a result of that, they
didn't show much improvement after the firing. They gave up
some huge, huge passing touchdowns against Oregon. UCLA has its
problems too.
Speaker 2 (01:49:20):
Uh.
Speaker 7 (01:49:21):
Dante Moore, freshman quarterback. He's questionable for this game, but
if he can play, this could be a spot where Ucla,
and it's not often they get to say this, they
can they can pick one off against the Trojans who
are out of playoff contention.
Speaker 4 (01:49:36):
Yeah, saw this line jump up to six and then
it's kind of been sitting there all week over at
bet MGM. I think at at six and a half,
it looks like people are taking Ucla.
Speaker 5 (01:49:47):
I agree with your take, Brian. This game had potential heading.
Speaker 4 (01:49:50):
Into the year and now it's it's kind of a
like Oregon State Washington is the big Pac twelve game today.
Speaker 5 (01:49:56):
I don't think a lot of people would have pegged that.
Speaker 4 (01:49:58):
So you look at this UCLA defense, they are hands
down the best unit on the field. I know USC's
offense is great, but it's really one player on USC's
offense is great. The other ten guys don't seem to
be in sync.
Speaker 5 (01:50:13):
And I don't know.
Speaker 4 (01:50:14):
I mean again, motivation is the key here. How up
for this game is USC and I think it's tough
to lay points with the Trojans.
Speaker 2 (01:50:21):
Last one here?
Speaker 3 (01:50:22):
How about number seven Texas against Iowa State. There are
a lot of people that are circling the Cyclones at
plus seven and a half taking the points. Texas running
back Jonathan Brooks lost to a season ending injury. What
do you guys think about this? Are you thinking about
taking the Cyclones? Texas hasn't been great the last couple
(01:50:43):
of weeks. They've been squeaking by. Are the points calling
your name over here?
Speaker 2 (01:50:49):
Yeah?
Speaker 7 (01:50:49):
Yeah, I mean I think this is probably a better
matchup than when that Then, prior to Quinn viewers leaving,
the Longhorns suffered another blow to their offense with with
Quinny or As being out.
Speaker 2 (01:51:08):
I don't know.
Speaker 7 (01:51:10):
I mean when I think about the Cyclones, what I
think about historically with this football program is very similar
to actually the way the Michigan Wolverines are built, or
even the Iowa Hawk guys. Their offense doesn't typically blow
you away, it's their passing game is supplemented by their
run game, great defense. This kind of feels like, I
(01:51:31):
don't know. To me, it kind of feels like it
could be downgraded to a rock fight. Maybe it'll be
a twenty eight to twenty final, but I could I
could see it being like Cloase won twenty one seventeen
something like that.
Speaker 5 (01:51:43):
Weird things happen in games at night.
Speaker 4 (01:51:48):
That's the only real handicap I can give you here,
because I think Texas you've got everything to play for.
You're basically one win away from securing a spot in
the Big twelve title game, because if you beat Iowa State,
they'll have three losses. Oklahoma State and Oklahoma are gonna
kind of Actually, who does Oklahoma have this week is
kind of the question here. I hope we get a
(01:52:11):
rematch of Oklahoma and Texas in the Big twelve title.
It would be disappointing to me if we didn't. Oklahoma
State losing last week made that a possibility. They play
Houston tonight, so I'm pulling for Texas. But the betting market,
to Brian's point, favors Iowa State. We saw this open
at eight and a half at MGM. Now seven and
a half and I wouldn't be surprised if we see
(01:52:31):
a seven pop up before again the late game tonight
in Ames. I think Iowa State seems to be one
of those sharp sides. But Texas is good. Texas's defense
is legit. Even without Brooks at the running back position,
I still think they can win this game.
Speaker 2 (01:52:47):
All right.
Speaker 3 (01:52:47):
We've got Rich Hornberger Penn State All American will blow
towards some pork shoulder in a good way, not a
bad way, you know, charge to perfection. We've got Jared
Smith FSR betting and only not going to the race tonight. No,
will he be betting on who's the dominant guy over there?
Speaker 2 (01:53:06):
One seven? Yeah, verse stapping. He's won seventeen of twenty races.
Speaker 3 (01:53:11):
He's like looks, he's like minus probably yeah, He's like
minus three point fifty to win the race tonight.
Speaker 5 (01:53:16):
Forget it.
Speaker 4 (01:53:16):
It's like, what this is freaking not a fun betting
sport either, because you don't know where they are on
the track Half the time, you're like, what am I
betting on?
Speaker 2 (01:53:25):
Probably know?
Speaker 3 (01:53:26):
Coming up next, we got some picks for you, pix Galore,
rapid fire Style. Jared will have his play of the
day we are seventeen measly minutes away from kickoff. We'll
get you all set with some picks around the corner.

It is Fox Sports Radios Countdown to Kickoff, presented by
bet MGM. Props to the crew. Ryan Berschinger in for
Bo Benson today. Great job producing the show. Chris Purfett,
Technical producer Isaac Loewencron, tremendous job on the updates. Mister
I Low getting it done as always.
Speaker 2 (01:54:16):
Top of the hour.
Speaker 3 (01:54:17):
Up on game, LaVar Arrington, TJ Hushman, Zada, huh Bvilum.
He'll have his eyes on that Washington Oregon State game
tonight in Plaxico, Burris, make sure you keep it lacked
here on Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 2 (01:54:30):
They'll have you covered. In the world of ball, we
got some picks to make. Let's do it.
Speaker 1 (01:54:38):
Rapid fire.
Speaker 2 (01:54:40):
All right, Jerry, we'll start with you, man, what are
you thinking today? All right?
Speaker 4 (01:54:43):
Two and one last week nineteen and seventeen on the air.
All the lines I'm betting right now currently available at BETMGM,
so again, we're not giving you stale lines here.
Speaker 5 (01:54:52):
You can go bet these right now.
Speaker 4 (01:54:53):
Let's start with SMU laying nine and a half at Memphis,
a mismatch in Memphis. Sm offense with Preston Stone top
twenty across the board against Memphis's defense. Yikes, and they
have been ravaged of late. They're coming off of an
overtime win against Charlotte. SMU's got the extra day. I
think that all matters, and I think SMU takes a
(01:55:15):
big step towards that American Title game they win and
cover at Memphis, and Miami on the money line against
Louisville today, I think the Canes rally around Tyler Van Dyke.
Speaker 5 (01:55:25):
Member.
Speaker 4 (01:55:25):
This is a guy that won the ACC Player of
the Year award a couple of seasons ago. It's been
a rough year in and out of the lineup, injuries,
got benched, and then the injury last week to the
freshman quarterback who replaced them. I think Miami rallies today
against Louisville's defense, and it's the Canes winning against the Cardinals.
Speaker 7 (01:55:43):
All right, I do not deserve to give big long
die tribes about my pigs because it's one and two, Warnberger.
Speaker 2 (01:55:51):
So I'm gonna give them tea straight.
Speaker 7 (01:55:53):
Washington plays no defense, Oregon states on a bit of
a heater. I'll take the Beafs plus one. I'm on
the same side, all right. Georgia favored nine and a half.
I think they keep the train on the tracks and
they just mow down Tennessee. This could be like an
out of hand score. I got the Bulldogs roaring through
this one. Okay, Utah on the road at Arizona. We
(01:56:16):
spoke about this game. Jetfish has completely gentrified that football program.
Speaker 2 (01:56:20):
I got the Wildcats favored by.
Speaker 7 (01:56:23):
One and a half at home over the Utes. We're
looking for a three and zero week. Boys, let's go
love it.
Speaker 2 (01:56:28):
Wow, Okay, quick shout to the point. I like that.
Speaker 3 (01:56:32):
So I saw a quote this week from Arnold Schwartzeneger
and it just said, your struggles develop your strengths.
Speaker 2 (01:56:41):
And I immediately thought about my rapid fire picks.
Speaker 3 (01:56:45):
I'm like, my record hasn't been very good, but my
struggles are developing my strengths. Yeah, so we're turning around
in a big way this week. I'm looking at a
couple of random lines. UNLV plus three on the road
at air Force has been a covering machine. I get points,
I'll take it. I'm going with Colorado State. Colorado State
(01:57:06):
is four and six. They're favored by eleven and a
half against Nevada.
Speaker 2 (01:57:10):
I'm laying them.
Speaker 3 (01:57:12):
Good passing offense for Colorado State, bad pass defense for Nevada.
I've got the Rams winning by at least twelve. And
from my final act, I will go back to it's
so square, it's sharp.
Speaker 2 (01:57:25):
It is Jaden Daniels. You mentioned this, Jared, I'm on
it too.
Speaker 3 (01:57:29):
Jaden Daniels over sixty three and a half yards rushing
against Georgia State. He just he's gonna run all over him.
It's what he does. He's a playmaker. He's not gonna
just sit in the pocket and throw it all day.
If there's an opening, if there's a crack of daylight,
he's gonna take it. Might go seventy five to the house.
So give me Jaden Daniels.
Speaker 2 (01:57:48):
Those are my three picks. All right, let's do this.
Speaker 1 (01:57:52):
This is the best play of the days.
Speaker 4 (01:57:57):
All right, Jared, what do you have for US, Buddy, Well,
guy's the Washington Huskies are undefeated, they have a higher ranking,
they've got maybe the better quarterback, a Heisman Trophy candidate,
but they don't know what it's like to go to Corvallis,
and they don't realize that they are in for as
Rich would call it, the buzzsaw that is the Oregon
(01:58:17):
State Beavers. So this line flipped. It was minus two
when I gave it out on the parlay this morning.
Speaker 5 (01:58:21):
Now it's plus one. That's okay, we'll bet it.
Speaker 4 (01:58:23):
Anyways, Oregon State plus one, they win it, and they
send Washington home sad.
Speaker 2 (01:58:30):
Okay, all right, we'll see what happens very all day
of ball. Enjoy it. We'll catch you soon.
