Sweet cheeks.
Speaker 2 (00:08):
What's all, We've got all the experience in the world.
This is I want your flex with Dan Byer and
Mike Harmon. Mike and Dan break down everything you need
to set your lineups, from position rankings.
Speaker 3 (00:22):
To starts and sits.
Speaker 2 (00:24):
The guys help you make those hard decisions. And now
let's get your flex onde. Here's Dan Bayer and Mike Harmon.
Speaker 1 (00:33):
Week fourteen of the NFL season may bring you your
final week of regular season action. It could be do
or die. You also could be hitting the stretch run,
or if your season ended weeks ago, maybe you're playing
the daily fantasy game. Any which way, it doesn't matter
because Mike Harmon is here to give you all the
information you need. Hit him up at Swallendome. You can
(00:53):
find me at Dan Byer on box and for the
final time after two weeks, Patrick Sweek is our executive producer.
Ryan Berschinger will be back next week. But if our
numbers are up through Patrick, look out, we could have
a Wally Pipp situation. Mike. If Ryan Berschinger's numbers do
not match the podcast numbers that Patrick.
Speaker 4 (01:13):
Well, I could check the numbers, and obviously Patrick's probably
putting a super cut of his best work together, including
the sandwich boards he was wearing around the Santa Monica
boardwalk and all of those things to try to get
in there and sell, sell, sell the ie watch of
Flex podcast, So a little bit of extra. I mean
the tattoo he got was maybe a little bit over
(01:34):
the top, Dan, but you know, all promotion is good.
Speaker 1 (01:38):
And if you want to check him out on Twitter,
do so at Sweaky Peete. There you go. He is
last tweeted like nine months ago, so you can get
that's so you can get his latest stuff.
Speaker 4 (01:48):
You know what he can do to get back into
the Twitter verse, Dan, what's that? You can put out
a linkd I watch a Flex So.
Speaker 1 (01:54):
Yeah, that's what you could do. Patrick, You think you
can maybe do that for us?
Speaker 5 (01:58):
You know what, I think. I think it's worthy. For
the most most up to date tweet. I think that's
going to be worth it.
Speaker 1 (02:03):
Why not way to the last one that you've you know,
the last show that you've produced, to finally send out
that tweet that swans on tweet?
Speaker 3 (02:10):
Yeah, able to remember your password.
Speaker 5 (02:15):
Let's not talk about that as I scroll through and
try and figure it out.
Speaker 1 (02:18):
I've got so many passwords by the way that it
is crazy. It's now a crapshoot. When they're like you've
got five chances, you know, like you're like, okay, I've
got these go to ones. I have some other newer ones.
I branched off with some but never stuck to it.
So sometimes if those passwords fell into that period, it's
(02:39):
it's it's not roulette, but sometimes it's close, like and
just figuring out, and then you're like, geez, did I
mess up? The username? Was the username my email?
Speaker 4 (02:48):
Was?
Speaker 1 (02:48):
It just the first part of my email? Crazy times
with passwords, So I think Patrick's gonna have a tough
time figuring this one out.
Speaker 4 (02:55):
If he's like me, well, I mean I'm changing all
mine to sweekyp Listen.
Speaker 5 (02:59):
I had a tough time just every day. So I
definitely will sweaky pee.
Speaker 4 (03:04):
One two three account like Mike francessa trying to.
Speaker 5 (03:11):
Make a burner account. Now it's gonna be sweaky p two.
Speaker 1 (03:15):
Do you have an Instagram, TikTok Snapchat?
Speaker 4 (03:19):
Oh?
Speaker 5 (03:19):
I do have an Instagram. It's Patty Underscore sweeks.
Speaker 1 (03:23):
Okay, there it is. That's where you can find that. Patrick.
We appreciate all the help you've given us the last
couple of weeks.
Speaker 4 (03:29):
I was going to keep the jokes going. It's like
you ask him about Snapchat. All of a sudden, folks
sliding into patricks Hey straight off DMS.
Speaker 3 (03:38):
There you go.
Speaker 1 (03:39):
You're wide open. All right, maybe they're not. I don't know.
I have no idea what Patrick's private life is like,
and that'll be on our next episode. If I want
your flex, our first in season.
Speaker 3 (03:49):
Guests special get to know you?
Speaker 1 (03:52):
Yeah, yeah, for sure. Let's get to know these top
quarterbacks and running backs and wide receivers for Week fourteen,
Mike Harmon, lay it on us. You're top five signal
callers on a week where we have two buys, Kyler
Murray and Sam HOLLI gonna have to sit this one out.
Who do you got for your qbs? In Week fourteen?
Speaker 4 (04:10):
Some of the usual suspects find their way to the lineups. Here,
Dan Dak Prescott right off the jump against Philadelphia the
worst fantasy points per game to opposing quarterbacks. Right now,
as we say on the show, Dak is on a
heater keep it going, keep it moving. Josh Allen going
top against Kansas City coming off the bye week. Really
a curious time there in Buffalo. That Tied Dunn article
(04:34):
that came out. I don't know if that helps her,
hinders things, or you know, just turns up the temperature
on Sean McDermott's seat a little bit. But I expect
the offense to come to bear. Kansas City's defense showing
a little bit of vulnerability of late. And a huge
game for Buffalo this week. Jalen Hurts going up against Dallas.
He's ranked six or better in all but two games
(04:58):
this year. Another big outing here, brock Perty going up
against your Seahawks. Sorry, Buddy, twenty third against Seattle a
couple of weeks ago, but you look at the last
couple of weeks, he's been fantastic, and all the gang
is back together for this home date. And then we
look at the fun and exciting world. To round it out,
justin Fields going up against Detroit cracks in that secondary,
(05:24):
trying to see if they can stop the bleeding. And
when you're helped by the fact that Jared Goff has
started to turn the ball over a bunch Boges very
well for Justin Field, who has acquitted himself quite nicely
the last couple of weeks since getting back from injury.
Lions fourth worst against quarterbacks.
Speaker 1 (05:40):
I'd like to talk about the guys in the bottom
of the list, but I'm surprised at Jalen Hurts at
three MIC because all the Cowboys you have to do
is follow that Niners blueprint that Nick Bosa said that
they had for Jalen Hurts, and that should slow him down.
I am tongue in cheek this. I am serious about though,
and I've thought about this because you mentioned the McDermott comments.
(06:02):
Awful obviously, the Vonton Miller situation that he's been involved in.
I don't want to pass judgment on it, but yeah, yeah,
he's going to be available. But that coming off of
a bye week, I wondered if the Bills were going
to be that team like the Buccaneers a few years ago.
Late bye did them a world of good. And all
(06:25):
of a sudden, after the first you know, twelve weeks
of figuring it all out, you know they're firing on
all cylinders. I'm not rolling it out. It hasn't been
a great way to start the post buy, you know,
a week or coming in from the bye. But I
am curious on how this plays out in Kansas City,
especially with the Chiefs coming off of that loss. You
know that they're going to have to be ready. If
(06:46):
Buffalo happens to just, I don't know, pull one out
of there behind and just plays magnificent, I'd watch it
down the line. I don't know. I'm just throwing it
out there. We'll see if it sticks, if it's another
usual bill star or that you can throw it away
in the trash. But coming off of that buy, I
just I'm really interested to see what Buffalo's got.
Speaker 3 (07:05):
One hundred percent.
Speaker 4 (07:06):
Looking at you'd had the running game with you know,
multiple prongs to it, Murray and Cook, where you'd found
a little more consistency there, adultagated had stepped up quite
a bit. They've they've found some really curious ways to
lose games, just like we've talked about Philadelphia winning games
in crazy action fashion throughout the year. You know, I
(07:31):
I equated the teams from Philadelphia from Pennsylvania together after
the Steelers, you know, kind of imploding against the Patriots
in that first half of the Thursday Night came Dan
where you've had the Eagles, you know, winning by any
means necessary, and that's kind of where the Steelers have
been throughout the year. It ain't pretty, but they were
(07:53):
finding themselves to win. But eventually, as Metallica saying so
eloquently all the time, ago luck runs out and then
a big heavy metal chord, which you know, after you know,
all the talking, I can't possibly do proper justice to
those are.
Speaker 1 (08:12):
Mike Carman's Top five quarterbacks. I'm not familiar with that
Metallica song. What was that like a early day Master
of Puppets. Let's see, don't worry. I'm I'm not totally fine.
I just I wasn't sure if it was an earlier
late I never really really got into Metallica. Never was
(08:33):
never a Metallica guy.
Speaker 3 (08:35):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (08:35):
It is called All Nightmare Long off of Death Magnetic
two thousand and eight.
Speaker 1 (08:42):
Wow. And I was gonna say recent, but that two
thousand and eight isn't recent.
Speaker 4 (08:47):
Well in terms of what they've put out, Yeah, yeah,
I know, right, but yes, in terms of our lives
and what we've got, yeah, is crazy. My fifteen year
old had just been born. You into that years I mean,
come on.
Speaker 1 (09:02):
Now, welcome, here's some Metallica.
Speaker 3 (09:05):
Well baby, let's go.
Speaker 1 (09:08):
Yeah, let's hey. If it's not enter Sam Man, use
that as the lullaby.
Speaker 4 (09:14):
You know, I do have the Metallica, you know, lullaby version.
You can buy albums of all the classic rock and
metal bands. Oh really, Oh yeah, my kids were rocked
in the cradle to Aerosmith.
Speaker 1 (09:27):
Oh wow, I didn't even know there was such a
thing existed.
Speaker 4 (09:30):
Don't know that rocking your your baby, baby girl to
rag Doll and stuff.
Speaker 1 (09:36):
How awful is it that I had the same exact
song that I thought you were thinking, you know, the
hundreds of Aerosmith songs, Me thinking, I just want to
know how the scat part was done.
Speaker 3 (09:47):
You know, well that was by me.
Speaker 1 (09:52):
Okay, we don't stop it. We don't want to pay
for it. All right, Let's get to the top five
running backs.
Speaker 3 (09:56):
Seconds Top five.
Speaker 1 (09:58):
Running backs for Week fourteen of the NFL.
Speaker 4 (10:00):
We finally got a return to the top ten from
Alvin Kamara last week. Let's try to make it too straight,
shall we? As he goes up against the woeful Carolina Panthers.
We talked about the problems in Buffalo, Carolina, just they
equated it to Game of Thrones this week, Dan, So
that's good for everybody. Zach Moss, he failed me last week.
He will not do it again. I'm doubling down his
(10:23):
last top twelve effort though, going all the way back
to Week eight, but against Cincinnati, expecting to have a
big workload and for that offense to play to form.
Saquon Barkley going up against Green Bay. You know, he's
been outside of top thirty two out of three games
coming out of the bye week, but he was number
one Sandwich in between there. I expect him to be
(10:44):
active in the passing game for Tommy DeVito this week,
going against the resplendent, resurgent Green Bay Packers. Moving a
little further, we got Devin ah Chan going up against
Tennessee sixth in his return for top six efforts and
six games played. Are you kidding me? Ronco? Set it
and forget it? And then I've got Isaiah Pacheco. But
(11:06):
I've got him with the big star because as we
record this, Dan, he's been limited in practice this week,
so I've got him back to back top tens and
you're looking at three straight games where he's had at
least twenty touches, which is a sweet thing in the
weird cesspool like region that we are in the running
back position.
Speaker 3 (11:26):
So I added Bjean Robinson to my list as his
workload works.
Speaker 4 (11:31):
Up another tick and an opportunity here against Tampa.
Speaker 1 (11:35):
Here's the crazy thing. The Pacheco has been a top
ten running back in one of my leagues, rated ninth
of all running backs this season. Now it helps when
you can play as many games as he has and
you have other guys like Karen Williams who missed games,
(11:55):
but they're still ahead of them. You know, it tells
you on where the running back position and is in
twenty twenty three in fantasy football. Never would have guessed
he had been a top ten back. Brian Robinson's a
top five back for me in one of my leagues.
Speaker 4 (12:10):
No, that's it, right, you look at and I'm on
the Fantasy Pros website as we do this, looking at
in PPR leagues. All right, McCaffrey, Mostert etn Alvin Kamara,
who missed three games to start the season. Rashad White
is fifth. Joe Mixon, who has been nonexistent seemingly most weeks,
(12:39):
but he's had a couple of monster runs to twenty
twenty one and twenty nine point seven are three of
his efforts. He's sixth. Derrick Henry is seventh. Rumors of
his demise greatly exaggerated. Keep an eye on the injury
report going into kickoff on him. Brian Robinson at eight,
Josh Jacobs again couldn't fall forward for a number of weeks.
(13:01):
He's nine, and then Pacheco comes in at ten.
Speaker 1 (13:04):
It's just shocking with some of the guys. Not that
they've had awful years, they just haven't had what I
would consider top ten years. And then all of a
sudden you're in the top five. You're hanging around that.
It's crazy, It just it really is. Brian Robinson on
by this week. Soon I don't have to worry about him.
All right. Let's get to the five top five pass catchers,
(13:25):
the wide receivers. Four week fourteen.
Speaker 4 (13:27):
Let's go back to the back to the front with C. D.
Lamb going up against Philadelphia eleven for one hundred and
ninety one in that first meeting, top seven to four
of his last six Tyreek Hill. You know I thought
about taking him, and you know in my running backs,
I just made McCaffrey, that guy that's in bold type above,
just saying sure he's there, So I'm not going to
get to, you know, belabor the point.
Speaker 1 (13:48):
It's all he's like at zero, He's like at zero, yeah, yeh, you.
Speaker 4 (13:51):
Know, just he's emeritus. Same thing Tyreek Hill. But I
put him second here against Tennessee. Seventh or better in
all but three games this year. In those three games
he finished outside the top thirty.
Speaker 3 (14:06):
There you go.
Speaker 4 (14:06):
There's your chaos theory for Week fourteen. Hey J Brown
going up against Dallas. You know, you're looking at a
guy who's had some interesting games here since the bye week.
He was eighth in that matchup against Dallas going back
to Week nine, eighty nine yards, twenty five yards, nineteen
(14:27):
yards the three games since the bye, So perhaps a
get right situation for this offense.
Speaker 3 (14:32):
They're curious.
Speaker 4 (14:33):
Philadelphia is, to me, from a straight football perspective, one
of the most curious game teams we've got running here
in the National Football League. Although I did like that
Nick Sirianni went and gave coffee to those guys with
the signs that said.
Speaker 3 (14:47):
Run the ball, so that was kind of cool.
Speaker 4 (14:50):
Michael Pittman junior against Cincinnati, first top ten since week
six last week in their effort against Tennessee. Four top
fifteens in his last five though, and the tar getting
reception counts have been amends. And then finally I'm doubling down.
I went Deebo Samuel third last week. We'll get him
in the five slot this week. Back to back finishes
inside the top ten, looking at ninety four total yards
(15:15):
and at TD going back a couple of weeks ago.
So let's roll them up again.
Speaker 1 (15:21):
There they are your top five wide receivers four week
fourteen Ceedee lamb, Tyreek, laj Brown, Michael Pittman Jr. And
Deebo Samuel. Get Mike at Swollendome. You can find me
at dan Byer on Fox. We are not stopping there.
Of course, Harmon's got his hot plays, Cold Sores and Ninjas.
Plus later on in the podcast, I'll give you a
reason to start and bend someone. Plus we'll do our survivors,
(15:43):
and we'll do our streaming defenses that Burcy usually does
when he is here. That's all coming up next here
on I want your flex. We're back. He's Mike Carbon
I'm Dan Bayer sweekyp our executive producer, hit Mike up
at Swollen Dome. You can find me at Dan Buyer
on Fox. Let's get to the hot plays hotter than
Patrick Sweeka's dms on Snapchat right now, Mike Harmon. The
(16:07):
guys that may not be in your top five, the
guys that you got to play in week fourteen.
Speaker 4 (16:10):
Only appropriate that I start with Love, Yes, Jordan Love
against the New York Football Giants, three straight top ten efforts.
How about we get that. Get those fours up, Dan Bayer,
get those fours up. Look, I'm gonna put Justin Herbert
here and the entire time I think my hand's shaking.
Speaker 1 (16:29):
Now.
Speaker 4 (16:29):
It might be the amount of caffeine I've consumed heading
into this podcast, but looking at a guy who's out
a bit of a role, at least for fantasy purposes,
we know what the charges are. And then back to
back subpar weeks. We can blame a little bit of
what went on in week thirteen because of the rain
and the elements, but let's face it, New England's defense
(16:50):
is no joke. Joe Mixon going against Indianapolis, who talked
about it, and his overall performance for the year, coming
off a twenty nine point seven point in game twenty
one back in Week eleven. So riding a guy that's
found his way a little bit here to top tens
in the last three. So we'll roll it up against Indianapolis.
(17:12):
David Montgomery going to against his old team against the Bears.
He's top seventeen four straight, ninety eight total yards and
a touchdown the first meeting. I know Jamiir Gibbs is
the guy. Everybody wants to see. Montgomery as the sledgehammer.
It has to make this thing go because they've got
to set up the play action for Jared Goff and
make him comfortable. But we'll get to him in a
(17:33):
little bit. I'd be remiss if I didn't. You know,
alert folks, Justin Jefferson is going to play. Justin Jefferson
is going to play. And did you realize he had
four top eight performances before he went down with his injury,
so he was often pacing with his greatness And then
just like that, it was taken from a snatch from
us Dan and you know sweek, you know when he's
(17:55):
not he's got like a hat that's got it's half
blue with a Seahawks logo and he flips it around
and it's purple with the Vikings, and then the wholes come.
Speaker 5 (18:05):
To form purple, and then the rain like Seattle. It's
purple rain, true to form.
Speaker 3 (18:11):
He's got jokes too.
Speaker 1 (18:12):
We love Patrick, but for those that don't know, Patrick
is a Seahawks and Vikings fan, and that offends Harmon
because of pure fandom rules, and it offends me as
a one pure blood Seahawks fan.
Speaker 5 (18:27):
Hey, I make my dad half proud he's a Viking fan.
Say he's half proud of me.
Speaker 1 (18:33):
It's fair enough, fair enough.
Speaker 4 (18:35):
And when did two teams meet on the field? Patrick
sits in the fetal position?
Speaker 1 (18:40):
Was the left side of your body cheering when Blair
walshmiss that kick, but the right side just you know,
remains still.
Speaker 5 (18:46):
Yeah, pretty much.
Speaker 3 (18:47):
It was kind of like I was like, ye oh yeah.
Speaker 4 (18:51):
It was kind of like yes, like I'm a stone
in that State Live skit where she goes, hey, yeah,
that was it.
Speaker 3 (19:00):
She plays a fit up girl.
Speaker 1 (19:01):
Pretty much.
Speaker 3 (19:02):
You really kind of just did.
Speaker 1 (19:03):
That pretty much pretty much? All right?
Speaker 4 (19:06):
DJ Moore against Detroit back to back top tens with
Justin Fields back. I had to get away from that
as fast as I could and DeAndre Hopkins communication issues
with Will Levis or not. The target count is great
and the production has been better. You've seen him hit
the end zone a couple times here in the last
three weeks, so looking for more festivities here going up
(19:30):
against Miami. He will not be running only win sprints
like Terry McLaurin did against the Dolphins last week.
Speaker 1 (19:37):
It's a double Monday nighter as well, so you've got
those two games Packers Giants to start Mike's rankings and
then Titans Dolphins to finish it. But those games both
happening on Mondays of Week fourteen. All right, let's get
to the cold source, the guys you don't want touch,
you don't want to see, you don't want anything to
do with.
Speaker 4 (19:54):
In Week fourteen, I'll just go really fast because we
make it quick by just saying Geno Smith up against
San Francisco, I'd love to see him follow up of
that DK Metcalf performance and everything else. I can't bank
on it. What was he twenty fifth a couple of
weeks ago against San Francisco. See, I hate the schedules
like this, but I've done that rant way too frequently.
Speaker 3 (20:15):
Hey, we saw you two weeks ago. Hi, we're back.
Speaker 4 (20:18):
Jared Goff going up against Chicago, Ya had those three
I in t's their first meeting. Only one top ten
performance is last six. It's really actually kind of a
grizzly game to game log for Jared Goff. As much
as we've seen some goodness, he's helped by the fact
that their defense is porous, which means he will keep
(20:38):
throwing the football. So I'm on ras Saint Brown. It's
in Laporta in company. Should be able to get theirs.
A guy that I really like and I have a
great ownership stake in, so it pains me to put
him on the list.
Speaker 3 (20:49):
Is Rashaan White going up.
Speaker 4 (20:50):
Against Atlanta because he's got seven straight top twenty performances.
Atlanta third best for fantasy purposes against running backs, so
a little bit of trepidation. Tony Bollard against Philly. They're
giving up fewer than eleven points per game to running backs,
and as we know, it's been a bit of an
ebb and flow with him in terms of how much
you're trusting him in your fantasy lineup. Look, he's got
(21:13):
enough touches that he has to be there for this season.
Still ranks eleventh. Why because he hasn't gotten hurt this time,
so to able to creep in, and the last couple
of performances have been strong. He's got three straight strong
performances coming in here, But I temper those expectations more
amid RB two for me. Josh Jacobs against Minnesota again,
(21:34):
another one where you had a nice top ten performance
against KC but back back to back runs way outside
of there prior to it, and then Minnesota fourth best
against running backs. Looking at that Cooper Cup because he
hates anime, I've decided I've taken a stand for my guys,
Sueka and for Alex Tishirt. But the bigger issue here
(21:58):
is you've seen this guy going back to week six,
right he was second against Arizona. He's been outside the
top twenty every game since. And it's not even close.
Speaker 1 (22:07):
Dan and Weather. It could be the worst in Baltimore
this past this upcoming weekend as well. So you got
the Ravens off of a bye, you've got the weather,
you've got the cross country, and then you have the
most recent history and it does not bode well for
the Rams receiver.
Speaker 4 (22:23):
Just tuck it into the gut of Kiren Williams and
watch it work and pukin nakua because he was trying
to be inclusive. He was trying to get everybody together.
Dan Sure and Cooper Cup said beat it kid, and
Devonte Adams going up against Minnesota will double dip. There
only one touchdown since week three and only one top
twenty performance since week four, so a bit of low
(22:44):
hanging fruit for the purposes of fantasy. Part of me
was like, well, could I slide him over to Ninja's
because he has been so poor? And I said, nope,
you stand the Cold Star list.
Speaker 1 (22:56):
Well that's that's it's fair game and I've got I've
got it. Might give you one reason to start and
wonders into bench. I thought maybe that one of the
benching guys would appear in the Cold Soars, and luckily,
for my purposes, it didn't. I am curious, though, on
these ninjas here, if we may double up and I'll
full full disclosures, I will reveal it, but I am
(23:20):
curious if you or I are on the same page
since we were with the Aerosmith discography earlier. Yeah, buddy,
let's see if we could do it with the Ninjas.
Mike Harmon's Sneaky plays for Week.
Speaker 3 (23:31):
Fourteen, loving an elevator. Here we go. We're going up,
all right.
Speaker 4 (23:36):
I put Matthew Stafford on this list and this becomes
more of a daily fantasy, right Cooper Cup on the
negative side, but again the dump offs to Williams.
Speaker 3 (23:46):
They should be able to run the football.
Speaker 4 (23:48):
A little bit, and now we're talking about red zone
efficiency and a bit of opportunity. It won't be pretty.
I don't think it'll be aesthetically pleasing, as you said, Dan.
We're also looking at weather being a factor here. But
back to back t top ten finishes, and that's because
you got your running back back in Williams.
Speaker 3 (24:07):
I've got Joe Flacco. He's elite.
Speaker 1 (24:09):
Okay, all right, I like that. That's not who I had.
But I do like Flacco being mentioned.
Speaker 4 (24:15):
Two hundred and fifty four yards, two touchdowns, the pick,
he finished thirteenth off the couch and Jacksonville this last
week against Jake Browning. I mean you might as well
just you know, said he's Golden arm He's Dan Marino,
He's Jim Kelly, slinging it around, making.
Speaker 3 (24:33):
It han look it is Joe Flacco. He's elite, all right.
Speaker 4 (24:36):
So again daily fantasy, it's gonna have a low valuation.
Speaker 3 (24:40):
The upside tremendous.
Speaker 4 (24:43):
Tadj Spears, who we've talked about a little bit here,
and part of this is trying to figure out and
read the tea leaves of workload status going up against Miami.
He had his first top twenty appearance last week eighty
eight total yards, four catch is against Indianapolis. And that's
the thing I'm hanging my hat on that we can
(25:03):
get a catcher to in a little bit of yack.
Romeo Dobbs going up against the New York Football Giants.
Watson more or less say an I plane in his
comments to the media on Thursday, cats out of the bag, Tatta,
So it would be very unlikely that you'll see him play,
which means more opportunity for Reed and for Dobbs. Brandon
(25:24):
Cooks going up against Philadelphia over the last four weeks
a total of twenty receptions back to back seventeen point games,
So fantasy owners get a little bit of love there.
Speaker 1 (25:34):
And he was a guy that you mentioned earlier in
the Week two waverwire pickups because he was still crazily
for some reason available Nat Rakes.
Speaker 4 (25:41):
People not trust in Dak MVP candidate Dak Prescott, wait
for fall off.
Speaker 1 (25:47):
Or they've been burned by Brandon Cooks before, and he's
played for his so many teams that you can understand
the trepidation.
Speaker 3 (25:53):
You know what his.
Speaker 4 (25:54):
Picture may be on there like a gate if you're
trying to do not let that guy pass you, or
he passed a bad check at a bodega or something
like that.
Speaker 1 (26:04):
Everybody's got that fantasy player that you know just haunted
them at some point in their lives.
Speaker 4 (26:09):
Sure, a first round draft picks gone awry, the guy
that you drafted a bunch of fantasy and you said,
you know what, I'm gonna buy a stack of.
Speaker 3 (26:17):
That guy's rookie card.
Speaker 4 (26:18):
And now not only did you lose in fantasy, you're
burning money on the other side.
Speaker 1 (26:23):
Dan fire, never again, you say, never again?
Speaker 3 (26:27):
And then, but what they make cards out of these days?
If you burn them?
Speaker 4 (26:30):
The colors man, the colors in the it's not just
paper anymore, not just kiddling. No, he got some weird
plastic and other chemicals mixing in chuber Hubbard going up
against New Orleans, you like what I did there, that's
kind of crazy. Eleventh and sixth the last couple of weeks.
I'm hanging a hat on the fact that he had
five receptions in their first meeting, so that he will
(26:52):
be used as a hot route kind of option here. Look,
it's a dumpster fire in Carolina. Maybe I'm just trying
to find some little bit of positivity, little bright spot,
and then I keep clamoring for it along with all
the people in Minnesota.
Speaker 3 (27:04):
Free ty Chandler, Free ty Chandler.
Speaker 4 (27:08):
So we put them on the list. He'll have three touches,
so don't go down that road. But I'm trying to
speak it into existence.
Speaker 1 (27:14):
Well, you know, you mentioned Jefferson's numbers earlier, obviously those
with Kirk Cousins, you know, now curious to see what
Josh Dobbs does. But yeah, neither of us grossly impressed
with what we've gotten so far from Alexander Madison this season.
So yeah, well this is this is fine.
Speaker 4 (27:33):
I'm I'm slightly surprised there's stick. I mean, I guess
you got to give Dobbs one chance with Jefferson back.
Speaker 3 (27:40):
But he'd been a little bit too loose with the
football for my taste.
Speaker 4 (27:43):
But he has been and we don't know about Chandler
because the worklad hasn't been there. He's been their best
runner the last couple of weeks. That's for dang.
Speaker 1 (27:50):
Sure, Yeah, yeah, absolutely, those are the Ninjas four week
fourteen of the National Football League season. And Mike, could
this be the final time you met Joe Flacco in
a fantasy podcast? As a possible play, I felt like
this is kind of like in the way Back Machine,
like we're not gonna there aren't gonna be opportunities. I
(28:13):
don't know. Maybe I'm wrong in the next couple of weeks,
but if dtr ends up coming back, and I think
this could be the Swan song, this could be the
victory lap.
Speaker 3 (28:22):
This could be it.
Speaker 4 (28:23):
I feel like I need to find a way to
get a wig for my Sunday out And about that
replicates Joe Flacco's hair now with a couple of catapillars
from my eyebrows.
Speaker 1 (28:35):
Uh, there they are your Ninja's for Week fourteen to
the National Football League season. We are not done yet.
We've got more for you again, if you're on if
you're on the edge, Hopefully my advice coming up next
could put you over and put you into the postseason
to give you even more reason to listen to us
for the next three weeks. He's Mike Harmon. I'm Dan Bayer.
(28:57):
That's next here, and I want your flex all right now,
it's my time to give you some advice, my turn
at this whole thing, which, by the way, he's Mike Carmen,
I'm Dan Byer. It is I want your flex. Hit
Mike up at Swollen don't find me at Dan Byer
on Fox. I am selective, Mike in rehashing some of
(29:18):
my wins and losses, just like I just like someone
was selective in the Thursday night football game. Okay, And
I had to bring this up on the podcast I
read and I believe that it's true because I saw
the picture of it, that this was Ben Roethlisberger's first
Steelers game that he has attended this season, and the
(29:40):
whole point I was saying to myself, well, why would
Ben Roethlisberger like show up in Week fourteen, Why would
it be against this awful Patriots team? And then I
realized what it was. Number One, he wants all the
people to remember the glory days of when he played
in the matchups with Bill Belichick, but also why not
(30:04):
do it when Mitchell Trubisky is starting, so then everybody
can say, oh, Ben, we wish you were still quarterbacking,
We wish you were still out there. That everything this
guy does completely contrived. I think that's what happened on
Thursday night when I pick an awful game so that
everybody can praise you ridiculous.
Speaker 4 (30:24):
And here I am with my kids, so not even
I'm just back on the sideline and I think, no,
I brought my children and people are gonna chant my name,
especially when this guy sucks.
Speaker 1 (30:35):
I'm not saying that he had to go like with
you know, to the previous six games, or I had
to show up last week against Arizona. I just thought
it was interesting, That's all I'm gonna say.
Speaker 4 (30:45):
All right, Ben Roethlisberger, just like a lifetime of creating
a Hey I'm hurt.
Speaker 3 (30:49):
I'm not really hurt, but you worried about me.
Speaker 1 (30:51):
So they retire, But I may not retire now that
we drafted this guy. All right. Being selective, sometimes I
tell you the good stuff and the times that leave
out the bad stuff. Let's hope it's all good this week.
So I can talk about it all next week. One
reason to start, a guy, give you one reason. That's
all that I do. And the reason that I'm gonna
tell you to start Gardner Minshew of the Indian after
(31:14):
Let's Go, is because the pass attempts are there. Ever
since that clunker that they played in Germany, they've had
two games against the Colts and then obviously last week
again excuse me, against the Buccaneers, and then last week
against the Titans. He's averaged forty one and a half
pass attempts per game. Mic. We know Michael Pittman was
(31:34):
such a hot pickup for the stretch run. And when
you look at where the Colts are right now in
a week where there isn't a huge amount of over undergames,
Colts Bengals sitting at forty three and a half, all
of a sudden turns into a little juicy game that
we've got. Give me, Gardner Minshew to start. If you're
in a pinch in week fourteen.
Speaker 4 (31:54):
I am digging what you're laying down when you look
at the receiving core and the balance with Zach moss Uh,
you know, lining up behind him.
Speaker 3 (32:04):
Yeah, I'm I'm in for it. Absolutely.
Speaker 1 (32:07):
I'll give you one reason to bench a guy, and
I'm gonna stick with the quarterbacks. This may be tough
to do, but I'm saying bench CJ. Stroud and the
reason being Mike. I could go with the weather, could
go with that weather portion of it. I could go
with Tank Dell not being available anymore, gone for the
season because of that ankle injury. But I'm gonna blame
(32:30):
it on the rain. Okay, nicely. I can't sing it
anymore again because we'll probably have to pay for it.
Weather a factor could be a wet, wet day taking
all that other stuff. Benching CJ. Stroud against the Zach
Wilson led New York Jay.
Speaker 4 (32:44):
Look at you, that is a bold yeah, lovation, there
I dig, and that's what I dig about you. We
don't we do you know, we don't go, you know,
just taking down you know, little little rabbits.
Speaker 1 (32:54):
Here.
Speaker 3 (32:55):
We're big game hunting, no.
Speaker 1 (32:56):
And I feel, you know, here, I'm taking a Buckeye,
so I can't be bias.
Speaker 3 (33:00):
That's true.
Speaker 1 (33:01):
It's not like I'm you know, picking a Michigan wolverine, which,
by the way, when we were talking about fantasy players,
that burned us I took Brayln Edwards in the first
round of a draft the year after the you know what,
sixteen touchdown performance or whatever whatever it was, and he
had a whopping three the next year. Oh gosh, that
hurt in so many ways. Yeah, it was, it was.
(33:24):
It was tough. It's one of one of the names
that that pops up into my head when we talk
about guys that you drafted and just were completely burned
and you'd never draft again, draft again. Braylan Edwards was
one of those guys.
Speaker 4 (33:35):
I'll scratch him off the list of guys that I
should invite on our podcast.
Speaker 1 (33:42):
Of course after Patrick, you know, because he's gonna be
our first. First usually does the streaming defenses, Mike, I
don't know if you've surveyed any of these, but there's
not a lot of great pickings out there this week.
But that's kind of the fun in this if you
are going to stream, sometimes the weeks are more plentiful
than others. Sure, I wouldn't mind giving the Chargers because
(34:03):
I don't think Denver's gonna kill you offensively, right, so
they may not give you a bunch of points. But
it's a home game, it's a Division game. You know,
there's gonna be a lot of Bronco fans there. But
maybe there is something with the Chargers coming off of
the shoutout last week against New England. Maybe they carry
it over. And I just don't think that Russell Wilson
is good really. Yeah, and so I think a spot
(34:24):
could be there for the Chargers.
Speaker 4 (34:25):
You know, as we talked about earlier in the week,
neither is Sean Payton. Sure who backed up the bus
faster Sean Peyton or Kirby Smart. Sorry, I went out
of my way to excoriate him for taking the freshman
linebacker and screwing him the way he did.
Speaker 3 (34:46):
I thought that was just wrong.
Speaker 1 (34:47):
Added well, I do like the Chargers this week. I
agree against the Broncos. Raiders defense another one for what
you were talking about with Josh Dobbs. Maybe you're not
loving him. Raiders defense should be available home game against
the Vikings. Uh could be an opportunity, uh for a
play here or play there if you're looking to stream
at defense this week.
Speaker 4 (35:07):
Yeah, and then I mean you start looking at teams
that may not be heavily utilized in some respects like
Miami's D From a fantasy perspective hasn't been world beating,
so maybe you've got a little bit of an opportunity
here and a pick up against Tennessee, and you know,
Trevor Lawrence was back at practice, which just still confused me.
Speaker 1 (35:33):
Excuse me, can someone give me my flowers on this?
Speaker 3 (35:35):
I'll give you your flowers.
Speaker 1 (35:37):
Yes, I totally forgot that we talked about this. This
was the pod on Tuesday. I told you that injury
was not that serious, you know, and and I felt
this was the first place we were able to discuss it.
Speaker 4 (35:51):
And you call what I saw off basically, it didn't
call because he was like Peter Griffin.
Speaker 3 (35:56):
Oh no, it did not look good. It didn't look good.
There was no cart, there was all that.
Speaker 4 (36:03):
But then all of a sudden, there is no crutches
or anything at the podium and then he's back on
the practice field.
Speaker 1 (36:10):
Think the ankle was put in a weird spot, but
it was more of the him being cleated. I think
that made him think. I'm not saying it didn't hurt
in the moment, but like we've seen ankles, you know,
just you know, someone in Gosh, the NBA College hoops
and you know, and it's that quick turn twist and
you're like, oh, that doesn't look good because it was
(36:32):
his wasn't like that. And that's why the whole reaction
to it, him chucking the helmet, throwing it down on
the ground, was such an over like it's it's not
an overreaction because I think he was faking it. I'm
just saying that's how he responds to injuries.
Speaker 4 (36:46):
So and now he's got a really cool bunch of
cleat marks all around.
Speaker 1 (36:50):
Yeah, and he's limited in practice, and who knows it's good?
I mean, yeah, crazy.
Speaker 4 (36:54):
Either way he's playing the If he plays, he's against Cleveland.
Speaker 3 (36:58):
Yes, If he doesn't, it's CJ. Bess. Opportunity knocks baby.
Let's go.
Speaker 1 (37:05):
Survivor picks this week. Thank goodness we didn't do this
the other night because that probably would have told you
to pick Pittsburgh and that would have been out the window.
I do like the Saints obviously against Carolina, that's an
obvious one. If you have the Dolphins, I think that's
obviously a good spot. But they're likely gone. And I'll
just say this, I think it's gonna be tough on
(37:27):
a short week for the Bengals. I do like the
Colts despite being an underdog. If you're looking for one
of those coin flip games, why not go Colts in Cincinnati?
Tell you what, Mike, I'd rather pick the Colts then
maybe take a you know, take a flyer on a
Vikings team going to face the Raiders or a Broncos
team on the road again against the Chargers. Give me
(37:48):
the Colts if you're looking for a coin flip.
Speaker 4 (37:49):
One hundred, particularly because that offense will be able to
put some pressure on the Bengals and Jake Browning great
effort against Jacksonville.
Speaker 3 (37:58):
Let's see you follow that up.
Speaker 1 (38:01):
Yeah, Packers will also probably be popular. But you think
you're gonna go against Tommy DeVito like that? Is it?
Speaker 3 (38:09):
On that road?
Speaker 1 (38:10):
Yeah? Right, yeah, the Vito doing the hand gesture that
you can't see on the podcast. Yeah, Green Bay could
be an option for you, which I think actually will
probably be pretty popular. Packers should be available in survivor pools.
All right, that's it for me. That's it for us.
In Week fourteen. Any final thoughts, Mike Carmen.
Speaker 3 (38:29):
You got to win to get in.
Speaker 4 (38:31):
It's the final week or two of your regular season,
so maximize tight end the kicking position. Keep an eye
on the weather right, not necessarily rain, but more so
if we've got wind involved, so keep an eye on that.
Speaker 1 (38:45):
On Sunday morning, he's Mike Carmen hit him up at
Swollen Dome. A big thanks to Patrick Sweeka who's helped
us these last couple of weeks. And I'm Dan Byer.
Hit me up at dan Byer on Box. Best of
luck in week fourteen. We'll talk to you next time
here on i wand you're Bles
