Speaker 1 (00:01):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio. Well, that's right, you

Bernie Fradley. We are coming to you live tirect dot
com studios here in Las Vegas. Tyraq dot com. I'll
help you get there an unmatched selection, fast, free shipping
for your road, AzID protection and over ten thousand recommended

installers tyrac dot com the way tire buying should be.
First of all, Happy Memorial Day weekend to everybody. Remember
we are the land of the Free because of the brave,
and I know that all too well, having traveled abroad.
Speaker 2 (00:39):
The last ten days.
Speaker 1 (00:40):
You know, in my life, I've been all over the
United States everywhere. Give me a city, I'll tell you
what a restaurant to go to. Wordigo probably got a
connection for you. Been to Canada many times, Toronto, et cetera,
et cetera, Mexico, Hawaii three times. There's about ten other
countries I really wanted to see. And he's last couple
of weeks. I started out with two of them that
(01:02):
were tops on my list. London in Paris. I don't know,
those aren't countries, those are cities, but they're part of
two countries. And I got to tell you. So, you know,
I booked a little excursion through this organization called Gate One.
They're outstanding. Our director was a guy by the name
of Craig Sunny. He was outstanding with all kinds of
(01:22):
free times. Not like we were some part of a
group deal like one flew of the Cuckoos nuts when
they went fishing, nothing like that. So I got a
lot of free time to explore things on our own.
And I'm not going to give you a European tour here.
Just give you a couple of highlights because we've got
to get to, you know, the NBA Playoffs, which are
becoming whole home. May twenty third is officially going to come,
(01:45):
you know, go down as a date in college sports history.
College sports will ever be the same. I'm not saying
it's for the worst, but I've got a lot to
talk about there. We've got Darren McKee from Denver coming
up at about fifteen minutes, Mark Medina, Midnight Magic.
Speaker 2 (01:58):
And at one am.
Speaker 1 (01:59):
I won't have a unique perspective on Caitlyn Clark that
you're not hearing anywhere else. I'm not going to defend her.
I'm not going to make a case. You've already made
up your mind. You know who you are.
Speaker 2 (02:10):
I don't care.
Speaker 1 (02:11):
Some of the most boring conversations in this country are
when everybody agrees but you know you've made it, but
in the all time leading score and people it just
can't wait to tear you down. It's actually becoming laughable.
But I'll have a perspective on her. She's in good company.
And when you see the case I make at one M,
(02:33):
you will you will see exactly what I'm talking about. Look,
you know she was in Las Vegas tonight. They lost,
as you know, they meaning the Indian Fever. And of
course the taverage tick was one hundred and ninety seven
dollars a piece. If you wanted to go tonight, why
(02:55):
did that cost so much? Why why is that? Well
we're going to get to that, but I guess the
bottom line is you've made your mind up. So I'm
not going to try to convince you. I don't really care.
This is America.
Speaker 2 (03:06):
You know you want to.
Speaker 1 (03:06):
Go golfing, you like the puff from the rough. It's
up to you man. You pay your you pay your
money's or takes your chances. But she's in very good company.
And don't try to figure out where I'm going with
that one anim I will fill in the blanks just
a couple of quick things. You cannot stand next to
the Eiffel Tower and not be blown away. How in
the hell with that thing built in eighteen eighty nine,
(03:27):
you know, it was built in twenty two months. Gustaf
Fiffel was a genius. Sealed by the way help design
on the Statue of Liberty.
Speaker 2 (03:32):
You may hear of that.
Speaker 1 (03:34):
And it was only supposed to be there for two years.
It was built to it was on the one hundred year
anniversary the French Revolution, and it was only supposed to
be there two years as an entry point for the
World's Fair in Paris in eighteen eighty nine. But obviously
it's still there, what one hundred and thirty five years later,
and for very good reason. Thing was packed out. You know,
(03:55):
they painted every seven years. It takes sixty tons of
paint to paint it. They just got them painting it,
you know, coming up for the Olympics. And by the way,
a lot of some of Paris was fenced off. That's
the story for a different day. I then had it
over and of course I saw the Arcta triumph, walked
up and down shumps. Le' see you spend a lot
of money. It's a vibe, man, it's a vibe. The Parisians.
(04:16):
This is how we live, you know, uh and and
and it's all good. A couple of miss you know, misperceptions.
Every French person I ran into except for maybe one,
maybe one.
Speaker 2 (04:30):
And I ran into a lot of them, very friendly.
Speaker 1 (04:33):
I decided I was going to learn about ten words
so that I, you know, look up, you know something
some for the effort, you know, I'm gonna be like
Emily in Paris. I learned some words. So and every
time I walk into a restaurant, and it went to
a bunch of them, madam uh de lou say to play,
I mean some water please, there's some water please, And
then they're looking at me and go, I look at
(04:53):
his dude, Man, he's actually trying. All of a sudden,
guess what. They're speaking English way better than I speak.
Then I tipped really good. So I found French people
to be extremely or vane, extremely friendly.
Speaker 2 (05:08):
They're all trim. They walk all over hell in Paris.
Speaker 1 (05:10):
They're not like us. Sorry, sorry, man, whatever the hell
they're doing over there. Maybe I left to start smoking
in stupid French cigarettes. Better forget all that outstanding experience there,
and then headed to London. Took the Eurostar and it's
about two hours and seventeen minutes. It goes two hundred
and twenty miles an hour to train and you're under
(05:31):
the English Channel for twenty eight minutes of it. You
pop up, boom, you're London. Next to you know, you're
in front of Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, Buckingham Palace, you
name it. I went everywhere. Did I have fishing ships?
Course twice? And is it the best I've ever had
in the world. Probably, But I'll say you I had
some good fishing ships in Cape cod Onan's do And
(05:52):
by the way, back in the day, if you live
in California, I know you do.
Speaker 2 (05:54):
You're listening on five to seventy right now.
Speaker 1 (05:57):
Back in the day, there was a chain in California
called h Salt, Fish and Chips, and they were all
over and they had all kinds of image to core
and I went to an eight Salt as recent as
two years ago in Orange, California. But with all due respect,
the taste of good, but it deteriorated nothing like what
I had in London. There's like four aspects to fish
and chips. There's a fish, how fresh is it? How
(06:19):
meaty is it? Then there's the batter. How well is
it fried? How does the taste? How crispy? Is it
too thick? They went four for four the pubs in London.
Forget it out of this world. I also befriended a
cabby in London. His name is Raymond Challon, are a
great guy. I paid him to be my driver one
full day.
Speaker 2 (06:38):
We went to.
Speaker 1 (06:38):
Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. We went to Wembley Stadium. By the way,
There'd be three NFL games played there in London this year,
one at Wembley too, at Tottenham, I got pictures at
all and then I popped over to Abbey Road because
you know, I had to be the guy they walk
across the street. I would like to be the most
famous album cover.
Speaker 2 (06:55):
I did it.
Speaker 1 (06:55):
I did it and sent it to my buddy Jay
stew send it to Kurt and then some people. Yeah,
it was an amazing vibe, but this deal real quickly.
Speaker 2 (07:05):
One final thing. Just riding a cab in London is
an experience.
Speaker 1 (07:09):
If you have any if you have any knowledge of
how they do it over there. Just become a cab driver.
You have to study for four years. It's it's like
going to law school. You have to take a test
called the Knowledge. It's three hundred and thirty questions. Eighty
percent of the people fail it. It's incredible the professionalism.
They're so prim and proper, in pristine. The cars are
(07:30):
like these miniature little Bentley's, but all kinds of room.
They don't stink. My driver and not connected. He was
gonna offer me. He goes, hey, man, can you drive
an automatic? I said, yeah, He goes, I'll let you
drive my car on the block.
Speaker 3 (07:43):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (07:44):
I don't know about all that.
Speaker 1 (07:45):
They're on the wrong side of the street, the steering
wheels on the wrong side. This guy was totally cool.
So we head out to Wimbley. Then we head out
to Tottenham Hotspur and I walk in and you know,
I do some douchey things and show my idea to.
Speaker 2 (07:56):
Cover the lines. Oh, come on in.
Speaker 1 (07:58):
I meet Larry the stadium manager. Turns out his first
job was with the Lions in nineteen seventy five. I go,
you got to be Kidney. That was Bill Belichick's first
job ever in the NFL nineteen seventy five with the Lions.
You may not know Bill Belichick's dad, Steve Belichick, was,
I think in the Detroit Lions Hall of Fame. But
Larry of course goes and I got a picture of
maybe we've got a lot because there's two big locker
(08:20):
rooms at the clubhouses at Tottenham Otsper Stadium. There is
the where the Tottenham Otspur soccer club plays. And went
in that unbelievably opulent there's an NFL locker room. They
built one just for that. Given me be two games
er this year. You'll see him in October. And so
Larry and I hit it off. They gave me the
full tour. I got to go down on the field,
in the press room, both locker rooms, everywhere. It couldn't
(08:42):
have been nicer, just fabulous. And so there you have it.
That's what I do with my summer vacation. That could
be an eighth grade turn paper. All right, let me
give you just a quick observation about the NBA playoffs Friday,
because not a whole hell of a lot to see here.
I'd like to thank the Indiana Pacers for participate in
the NBA playoffs.
Speaker 2 (09:01):
No shame.
Speaker 1 (09:02):
Listen, you run into a team that's pretty good Boston.
They act like they've won three titles. They have won
a damn thing. And I think Jalen Brown's a good player.
I think he's a good player. I do, But why
does he always walk around and look on his face
like he just mailed a bad fart? Lose that man?
You know, Magic Johnson one of my very favorite people.
I was an intern at the Forum a rookie year.
I saw all the games courtside. Magic said, I learned
(09:25):
two things from my parents. For my dad, I learned
how to work hard. For my mom, how to do
with a smile on my face. Jalen, you know I'm
not gonna be that guy says smile, But why why
don't you smile? So Boston's gonna handle Indiana, No shame.
Indiana put up a good fight that got past the Knicks.
Good night, Irene, It's over.
Speaker 2 (09:40):
Okay.
Speaker 1 (09:41):
We'll see if Boston committees the job. I'm not betting
they will. I'm fascinated with Dallas now Luka. Doncic looks unstoppable,
and I'm a huge Anthony Edwards fan. And you heard
my commentary three weeks ago about you know, the Minnesota Timberwolves.
In the plight of the great city of Minneapolis, Please Gods,
throw these guys at break. We'll see if minutes older
can steal a game in Dallas Sunday night. Hopefully they can,
(10:04):
but they seem to run out of gas after halftime.
Anthony Edwards just had just eight of his twenty one
points in the second half. He became sort of a
non factor offensively. I think he's fatigued. He's fatigued, and
you may say, well, how can a twenty two year
old be fatigued. He's asked to do everything. I mean,
for crying out loud, just go back and these remember
(10:26):
these plots have been going on for four or five weeks.
He's had to guard Kevin Durant and Devin Booker, He's
had to guard Jamal Murray and now Kyrie Irving. Just
saying those names makes me tired. I know Edwards denied
it after the game, but there was a reporter he
even received oxygen and he got subbed out of the
game in the fourth quarter, and you can see he
struggled be geting to the rim, and he you know,
(10:46):
two for eight and you know from the paint, Dallas
might be the real deal. I hope Dallas beats Boston,
won't I supposed to have a rooting interest, I don't care.
I like this Dallas team, and I gotta tell you
I like I like Kyrie and what he's doing. Now
give the manage his I can hold two thoughts. Concurrently,
I didn't like him before when he wouldn't shut up
and he wouldn't show up to work and he was
(11:06):
complaining and not even calling his boss.
Speaker 2 (11:08):
But this dude can play a little bit.
Speaker 1 (11:09):
And you know what, you put Luca and Donchis together,
it is one hell of an offensive tandem. So I'm
mildly curious to see what will they do when they
get on the floor with Boston. And I really do
think that's where it's happening. And by the way, let's
not forget the twin towers of Daniel Gafford Derek Lively.
They've been terrific for Dallas. Friday was probably their best
(11:31):
performance of the year. Thirty points, fourteen rebounds, five blocks.
They recabot both ends of the floor, So Dallas says offense.
They have length, and it looks like they have desire.
When you win a game one on nine one await
the way they did, that's the stuff Championship Caliber medal
is made of.
Speaker 2 (11:49):
Or we got a.
Speaker 1 (11:49):
Lot to get to tonight again bottom of the hour.
Can you say seventy five billion?
Speaker 2 (11:55):
I can't. I try that. I couldn't.
Speaker 1 (11:57):
Two point seventy five billion and a new NCAA model.
We're gonna chop that up at the bottom of the art.
But coming up a fan favorite, Dereck McKee from Denver
ninety two point five Altitude Sports. He's one of our
Fox Sports Radio affiliates. A lot to talk with him
about some some Denver nugget stuff, some NBA playoff stuff.
(12:19):
Sean Payton had a very interesting quote, and I'm even
I've even got a question about Deane Sanders and Charlot
Sanders and the Colorado Buffalo. So we'll get to Darren
with all that. Coming up by Bernie Frattle We're coming
you live from Las Vegas Fox Sports Radio, tyreck dot
Com Studios. Keep it locked right here. You're listening to
the Bernie Frattles Show on Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 4 (12:38):
Paulie Foosco here with Tony Fosco, you know as the
host of the number one rated Paully and Tony Fosco show.
We get tons and tons of fan mail everyday.
Speaker 1 (12:46):
Piles of it.
Speaker 4 (12:47):
In fact, Tony, why don't you open up one of
those letters right now and read what's inside?
Speaker 5 (12:51):
Hey, listen to this. Dear Paulie and Tony, your sports
takes the dumbest and most terribly that.
Speaker 1 (12:57):
Wait, why open this other one? Deep?
Speaker 5 (12:59):
Paulie, Tony, you suck more than anyone. Wait, try this
one year. Paulie and Tony, you guys are the absolute best.
There you go at coming up with the stupidest take again,
get it?
Speaker 4 (13:12):
Just listen to the Fall and Tony Fusco Show on
the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts.
Speaker 1 (13:18):
Yeah, don't listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio. We're back
in the Bernie Fratter Show. Fox Sports Radio. Come to
live from the Tarak dot Com studios here in Las Vegas.
Take care after three in Pacific sixty in Eastern Just
Kidding started as Welcoming and Gentlemen made a smashing debut
on my show about.
Speaker 2 (13:36):
Three weeks ago.
Speaker 1 (13:37):
You hear him from noon to three Outitude Sports Radio
ninety two five in Denver. One of our Fox Sports
radio affiliates, say hello to Darren McKee. Darren, how are you, buddy, Bertie?
Speaker 6 (13:46):
What's a good word?
Speaker 7 (13:47):
Brother?
Speaker 1 (13:48):
So I wanted you to credit because last time we talked,
the Nugs were down two zip. They came roaring back,
went up three to two, and I covered ten Detroit
Lions teams, including the own sixteen one. And you're never
gonna like the way. But when you're up double digits late.
Speaker 2 (14:02):
And you're home.
Speaker 1 (14:04):
What was the narrative after the game inside the Four
Walls in Denver that none of us ever heard?
Speaker 6 (14:09):
Uh, the players were burned out, overused, no depth, need
a backup five for your kisch, got to get better
shooting out of Michael Porter Junior, who's got a max
contract like that? It was it was. I don't think
it was anything different than what what everybody else was saying.
But you know, I think they would have beat Dallas.
And we're seeing what the Wolves are doing right now.
(14:30):
Thank goodness, nice job Wolves, way to choke it up.
But you know, but listen, the Wolves had any like
supporting them until I forget the even the player's name,
try to alley for himself at the end of the game,
it's like, what are you doing? And that that moment
right there probably showed they're really not quite ready and
(14:53):
they shouldn't have beat Denver. But you know, as a
tired team, they'd been through a lot. You know, that's
what it's like to win a CHAMPI and ship Wolves
get tired today you'll find out maybe not but but
but that's the case. So it's not a blow it
up situation.
Speaker 1 (15:11):
But you likely are going.
Speaker 6 (15:12):
To lose KCP. Unfortunately. We love him here, but he's
going to get a bag offer and likely be gone.
Speaker 1 (15:19):
Don't be surprised if you're back in the NBA Finals
again next year. I think you got yourself a real
squad and it's very hard to repeat. So with the
remaining four teams in the tournament, who do you like
to emerge in? Which matchup would you like to see
in the NBA Finals?
Speaker 6 (15:35):
Well, I grew up in the Boston area. My parents
still live there, so I'm a shout ahead by birth.
So go Celtics. Why do I give a crap about
the Wolves, MAVs or the Pacers. So I'll pull for
the Green and I think they got the best team too.
But you know what, you know, the MAVs are really interesting, Yes,
(15:56):
because Bernie, maybe you don't need maybe you just eat
to be in the top stick. Seriously, maybe you just
need to win fifty games and shut it down the end.
And they're kind of proving that right now, aren't they so?
And if you look at the home and road splits
this year, wow, weird?
Speaker 2 (16:16):
Really yeah?
Speaker 1 (16:17):
Well good?
Speaker 6 (16:19):
You know the Nuggets, the Nuggets. The Nuggets went twenty
one and six after the All Star break. They kind
of killed themselves to finish and lose and a tie
with Oklahoma City.
Speaker 2 (16:31):
But look what happened.
Speaker 6 (16:32):
Oklahoma City and the Nuggets and all this crap about
like having a win. If you're any good, if you're
gonna win a championship, you got to hit clutch shots
like Luca's done, and you just got to be in
the playoffs. And frankly, I think you could win from
the playing spot too.
Speaker 1 (16:47):
Really, they're sure he's good. Sure you know there's no
rule you couldn't, right, Well, the Lakers got to the
conference finals last year from the playing spot, but that's
a story for a different day. Look the Dallas thing
for me, after tanking last year, after getting Kyrie as
they say in your neck of the woods. Should Dallas
win this thing, just from a fan standpoint and an
(17:08):
impartial fan standpoint, he would be a wicked pissa. And
I'll tell you why, because Luca will be such an
ingracious winner. I can't wait to see what comes out
of that knucklehead's mouth.
Speaker 7 (17:19):
Oh you don't like Luca.
Speaker 1 (17:21):
I love Luca. No, no, no, no no. I want
to make sure I set the record straight. I love
the dude. I don't want to take a hot shower
with him, but I love the dude and how he
reacts after he wins or does something good is crazy
funny to me.
Speaker 6 (17:37):
I guess you got me wondering who you would take
a hot shower with if you win with Luca. But uh,
you know we we we liked Luca here and walked
into that one, right but we you know, Kyrie's kind
of odd, but he's a great player, and you know,
Luca's good friends with Yo kitchen. You know we got
(17:58):
we got no beef with dal whatsoever, So go for it.
You know the Wolves are they're just the pinch too arrogant.
Who knows they could come back? You know, you never know,
But rough start for him, that's for sure. Celtics, you know,
with what they're doing without poor thing, it's pretty impressive.
Speaker 2 (18:18):
Do you think very much? Very much?
Speaker 1 (18:20):
So very much so, yes, but I think Dallas could
get I mean, look, I guess I should admit this.
I interviewed Mark Cuban once in his war room down
there and at the American Airlines Arena back I know five.
Speaker 2 (18:32):
He was great to me, so I don't know. We'll see. Listen,
let's move on.
Speaker 1 (18:37):
I found it interesting Sean Payton used two words, and
I don't want to steal your thunder. I've seen these
things before. Were like the Vegas School of Knights where
the misfits in their first year and they get to
the Stanley Cup finals. I wonder if that's going to
have in an inverse proportion effect in firing up that
quarterback room. First, tell the people what the two words
that Sean Payton said and how it seems to have taken.
Speaker 6 (19:00):
He called the quarterbacks orphan dogs and listen, as soon
as he said it, we all looked around the room,
are like, sorry, what's orphan dogs? I mean it's like,
I mean, I mean, Vo Nicks is a I mean,
all right, he left Auburn for Oregon.
Speaker 7 (19:18):
I get it.
Speaker 6 (19:19):
He was the thick quarterback, taking it twelve vack liltit
started and started thirty four games in the NFL. Orphan Dogs,
I mean, Garrettson's a fourth round draft pick. I'm glad
they paint orphan dogs millions of dollars a year. That's
I bet an orphan dog, Bernie. I'll be happy to
be that. But see, I think this is what Sean wants.
(19:42):
I think Sean wants them to be orphan dogs because.
Speaker 7 (19:46):
He could be their savior.
Speaker 6 (19:48):
I guess I like Sean, I do, but his his
uh mikelomaniac side is every now and then it comes
out not all the time, not all the time, but
every now and then, and and Sean Sean. Nobody thinks
highly of themselves about Sean paign to Jean Pate. But
it's okay, it's all right. I'm fine with that, because
(20:11):
you need a coach with a certain amount of confidence.
Look who we've had here, Oh my God, from Fiji
to oh the Fanjo the trumpy old guy to hack him.
I mean, he's miserable, thank god. Baron Rodgers and that
guy would never even have a job, you know, But
Sean thinks highly of himself and that's why we got him,
(20:31):
and that's why it's get paid a lot. So Orphan done.
All right? Well cool, you know it was a weird
We seriously didn't know what the hell he was talking about.
But I mean, I I yaz, Bernie. I mean, it's
a stretch. So it's a stretch.
Speaker 1 (20:47):
Well, you're right about Sean Page. And by the way,
he is a Bill Parcells disciple. And I've ever been
in a press conference Parcels. It's a it's a treat. Finally, Darren,
great stuff is always By the way, what is happening
with Colorado football? I understand Sano Sanders is involved in
this kind of lawsuit and he's even filed bankruptcies? Do
I have my facts right? Can you please set the
record straight? Are you aware of that?
Speaker 6 (21:08):
Yeah? Well, I'm just catching up on that story. What
a crazy story. It was something back in high school
with a security guard that he apparently hit and he
got well the story maybe more that he had to
file for bankruptcy after losing a case for eleven million dollars. Like,
I mean, I guess you're just trying to protect your cash.
(21:30):
But there are there liquid issues with the Sanders family
we're not aware of still. I mean, that's I don't know, man,
I'd have to know more about the whole story to
really make a judgment on it. He was like an
absurd amount of money for what seemed like some sort
of kind of just I don't know, man, you know what,
(21:52):
I guess I don't know about more about the specifics,
so it's hard for me to make a judgment. Okay,
But I mean, it just came out, So who knows.
This came out like Memorial Day weekend in the after
late in the day yesterday or Saturday rather and or Friday.
Speaker 7 (22:08):
I don't know.
Speaker 6 (22:08):
Well, I don't know when the hell it came out.
But but but Shiloh Sanders is filed for bankruptcy to
avoid paying eleven million dollars. You know what's crazy. There's
been a lot of Now, he does do fashion walks
in Europe, so maybe that can help. But what's crazy,
Bernie is despite the fact that it's been turbulent, right
turbulent for Sanders in the offseason, lots of crap going on.
(22:35):
They sold out the season like in two seconds, and
that hasn't happened in CU history, back to back sellouts
and who knows long. So for for whatever the outside
may see things falling apart, at least here in Colorado
people are curious and want to see it.
Speaker 2 (22:55):
So I was.
Speaker 6 (22:56):
I was up and Boulder yesterday. I'm running a ten Hey, Bernie,
have you ever heard of the Boulder?
Speaker 7 (23:03):
Have you ever heard of it?
Speaker 1 (23:04):
Bernie, I've been at Bulder, Colorado.
Speaker 2 (23:06):
I've never heard of that.
Speaker 6 (23:07):
Well, here's what happens on Memorial Day. A bunch of hippies,
like fifty thousand of us wake up at four o'clock
in the morning to run a ten k that's six
point two miles. I know the conversion from metrics to
the standard system is confusing for you. So we run
six point two miles and we finish in fullsome field.
So I'm in Boulder with the rest of the hippie
(23:30):
wannabes and they're Volvos and Subarus and signing up for
this race. And I'm like, Wow, people are still into
this stuff, really into this because everywhere you go and
see you gear, I hear talk about the bus. Everybody's
super positive about things. And maybe moving to a conference
where they really don't play defense. To say, twelve is
(23:51):
the key for success from the Sanders family. So Bernie,
whatever crap you're gearing, that's outside noise for d and
Shiloh and Chador, try to shunter because everybody else then
is happy as a clams to have all fair enough
guys in Boulder. Everybody's firing up for it.
Speaker 1 (24:10):
It's a great story. I'm all about it. We're all
going to be watching, and I'm a huge Dion fan
and good to hear. I mean, I'm glad you're selling
out somewhere. Bill McCartney must be smiling, Darren. Great stuff
is always love having you man. Good luck with your race,
have fun, enjoy Memorld Day weekend.
Speaker 6 (24:28):
The only time you've run at ten k is if
you're running your mouth, Bernie, and that's what you do best, brothers,
So keep at it.
Speaker 1 (24:33):
I did run a ten k once on a bet
twenty five years ago. I'd have a I was actually
an athlete back that I had to have a hip
replacement in ninety eight, so I'm not allowed to run.
But I bet a guy I could do it, and
I ran it forty eight minutes and twenty one seconds.
I swore I never do it again, Shard, never do it. Yeah,
you know that was back when I was smoking camel nonfields.
That was a better shape. Just kidding, Darren. Great stuff
(24:54):
is always my friend and look forward to having you
on down the road.
Speaker 6 (24:59):
Joy your weekend, Ahi, brother, talk to you much.
Speaker 1 (25:01):
That is Darren McKee, Love the dude. He's one of
Fox Sports affiliates ninety two point five Altitude Sports in Denver.
We had him on about three weeks ago at to
suggestion and one of my listeners, I think it's hit
Little Handle is Twitter Handlers Bronco's life and man, I'm
glad so good stuff Darren. Coming up, I promise you
that when the history books are written, May twenty third,
(25:24):
twenty twenty four will officially become the before and after
date as it pertains to college sports history. I will
share where I'm going with that.
Speaker 2 (25:33):
Coming up.
Speaker 1 (25:34):
The first go to a guy, the hardest working man
in rock and roll, Martin Weiss were the latest.
Speaker 8 (25:39):
The Boston Celtics lead these conference finals three games to
none after last night's come behind, come from behind Big
three one fourteen to one eleven. Jason Tatum scored thirty
six points. Andrew Nemhard had thirty two points in the loss.
The Pacers led by as much as eighteen to two
different points throughout the game. Of course, Tyre's Halliburton missed
Game three with the sore hamstrings. Still wedding word for
his status for Game four, but hamstrings don't all. Overnight
(26:01):
NHL Western Conference Finals with Dallas Stars beat the Edmonton
Oilers three to one. Mason Marchman brook a third period
one to one tie Dallas, eventually scoring an empty netder
to give the Stars.
Speaker 9 (26:10):
A two goal lead.
Speaker 8 (26:12):
In the WNBA back to back defending champs the Las
Vegas Aces, they thumped the Indiana Fever ninety nine to eighty.
Fever were on the second night of a back to back.
Asia Wilson had twenty nine points. Kelsey Plumb added twenty
for the Aces. On the fever side of things, Caitlin
Clark had seven assistants, six turnovers. Fevers now one and
six on the young season. Aaron Judges homer to four
(26:33):
straight games as the Yankees beat the Padres down in
San Diego four to one. New York looks to sweep
the three game series later today four to ten. Eastern
First Pitch Dodgers lost four straight, the most recent being yesterday,
the three to one lost to the Reds. Walker Buehler
gave up three runs and six hits over five and
two thirds innings.
Speaker 9 (26:50):
Pitched Bernie back to you.
Speaker 1 (26:52):
All right, thanks Martin, appreciate it, Bud. All right. I
said it before and I'll say it again. Friday was
check that Thursday was May twenty third. That date, when
the history books are written, will be a pre eminent
date in the history of college athletics. The NCAA and
(27:13):
other powers conferences officially agreed to a settlement in the
House versus NCAA case. And it's only a major news
if you've really been following what's happening over the past
ten years and you start to hear the numbers, which
I'm going to share with you in a minute. But
let me give you a little historical perspective. I guarantee
(27:35):
my buddy Steve Hartman knows his story. Let's go back
to September nineteen fifty five. A gentleman by the name
of Ray Denison, while playing college football for Fort Lewis
A and M, died on the field after an on
field collision. I believe it was during a kickoff. Now,
ray Denison was married and even had kids. But ray
Denison's widow was denied death benefits and what has become
(27:58):
a foundational case for the NCAA. His involvement was quote
characterized as a student athlete, which was cited as one
of the early cases or uses of the term student
athlete back in nineteen fifty five. So, after Dennison died,
his widow, well, she filed a claim for death benefits
with the Colorado Industrial Commission under a Workman's Compensation Act.
(28:21):
The Commission actually approved the claim, but on appeal, a
district court affirmed the decision. Okay, so she'll get benefits, right.
But Fort Lewis University, along with the State Compensation Insurance
Fund fought the case too, and Neil and then they
(28:42):
took it all the way to the Colorado Supreme Court. Well,
the court initially ruled in nineteen fifty seven that Dennison's wife,
her name was Billy, was not entitled to death benefits.
Why the Supreme Court justices the Colorado Supreme Court, what
was their reasoning that football players are quote student athletes,
(29:02):
not college employees. Well, things are going to change and
they're going to change dramatically. The settlement includes a payout
of two point two point seventy five billion from the
NCAA to former student athletes going back as far as
twenty sixteen onward on any of those who lost out
(29:25):
on anil opportunities. Now the money is going to be
doled out over what a ten year period. More importantly,
it allows each conference to begin revenue sharing. Revenue sharing
with their student athletes is as they see fit. That
means money from all these big, massive TV deals is
(29:46):
going to start to make its way directly to the players,
completely unheard of concept even just a few years ago. Now,
this change, webelieve will come as soon as next year
and could include about twenty million dollars per school distributed
to their you know, respective power conference athletes. All Right,
(30:09):
So on the face of it, it's being applauded, certainly
by players the next players the field.
Speaker 2 (30:13):
It's a great move, an equitable move.
Speaker 1 (30:16):
You know. This sort of mirage and full paw image
that college athletics are amateurs is really kind of shroud
of the reality that the NCAA's business model is. It's
come to a point now where I think reasonable minds
feel it's unfair. Right, the college players on the field
are the ones, are the reasons that the money's flowing in.
(30:39):
And some some you know, attorneys have argued that the
college business model was maybe illegal. I don't know about
all that, but clearly, when you are looking at the
stars on the college grid iron, on the basketball court,
et cetera, et cetera, you're tuning in to watch them.
And of course you know, the programs and the schools
(31:01):
and the tradition and the rivalries all matter, but it's
really the athletes fame, let's face it. So how does
this change college sports? Well, it's only natural to wonder.
If you completely shed the amateur label, do college sports
now become more corporate? Do they lose a little other exuberance?
(31:21):
It does become a little stale. It has become more
business like, a little more buttoned up. The product is
deniably going to be somewhat different. I just don't know how,
but it's still gonna be awesome. Okay. I know you
can piss and moan about the end of all the
conferences all we want, but look, things evolve in this world.
Speaker 2 (31:40):
They just do.
Speaker 1 (31:41):
We used to shoot, you fight wars with a single
shot rifle. And you can piss and moan about the
end of all the conferences, but making more big name
games is going to draw more eyes to college football
and other sports. Look at Michigan schedule this year versus
what it was last year. Okay, now, this shouldn't really
change the academic experience for the athletes. The truth is
(32:02):
most student athletes don't go pro in their respective sports.
Speaker 2 (32:05):
You've seen that commercial.
Speaker 1 (32:07):
So now these athletes are going to get to earn
an education and get paid appropriately while performing on the field.
That is being applauded as a somewhat novel concept. Okay, still,
people are always going to complain. I think, though, that
things are moving in the right direction because.
Speaker 2 (32:28):
I live on this planet.
Speaker 1 (32:29):
My eyes are wide open and some the Victor Hugo
once said, And by the way, while I was in Paris,
I got to drive and walk by the building where
Victor Hubot is buried.
Speaker 2 (32:40):
Pretty cool with Victor Hubert had a quote.
Speaker 1 (32:42):
Once It said, a thousand armies cannot stop an idea
whose time has come. And this is an idea who
apparently time has come. The brightest minds, the brightest legal minds,
college football is a multi billion dollar industry now, so
the players are going to be sharing it. So how
(33:02):
will this affect you know, your your typical Saturday.
Speaker 2 (33:06):
I'm gonna talk about that. Coming up.
Speaker 1 (33:09):
I'm Bernie Fraddle coming to your live from the Las
Vegas Fox Sports Radio Tarract dot com studios. Keep it
locked right here. You're listening to the Bernie Frattle Show

Speaker 1 (33:30):
All right back on the Bernie Fradtle Show, Fox Sports Radio,
coming to you live from the tyrac dot com studios
here in Las Vegas. Coming up in about thirteen minutes,
Mark Medina, Medina Magic. Lots of NBA stuff to get to,
many many stories on and off the court. Look forward
to Mark's perspective on those. All right, So, now you've
(33:55):
got this college you know deal as it were, two
point seven five billion settlement House versus NCAA case, So
that TV money's going to filter its way down of
the players. And I can hear the teeth gnashing. Now,
you know, people call it a doomsday scenario. It's you know,
(34:15):
the people who don't think things through before they start talking.
They put their mouth in charge while their brain goes
on vacation. That they're blaming NCAA attorneys and expert witnesses,
and they're threatening that. You know, hey, the public's got
to lose interest in college sports if the athletes are
ever compensated beyond their scholarships. Why please explain why you
(34:38):
believe that will happen. I mean, even Neil Pilson, former
CBS president. He testified during the twenty fourteen Eddie O'Bannon
versus NCAA trial. He said, quote, if we go down
the road of paying players substantial sums, all will be lost.
(34:59):
He cited misleading public opinion polls that the NCAA invoked
during the case. Any predicted viewership would fall by twenty percent. Okay,
any buddy, you need to lie down with a cold compress,
get yourself some warm milk and soft music, and hope
it goes away. Because see, we've only got about five
years of data that confirms the argument was completely bogus.
(35:23):
Many college athletes, not just in football and men's basketball,
began quote receiving substantial sums of money three years ago
July first, twenty twenty one. That's when the NL money started.
Nil money started to flow. What's happened since? What's happened since?
Thirty seven? Regular season college football games last season garnered
(35:45):
at least five million viewers, up from twenty nine a
decade earlier. Last year's Ohio State Michigan game do the
largest regular season attendance audience attendance from TV nineteen point
one million. That was the largest in thirteen years, I
(36:06):
should say, and that's back when you know NCAA violations
where if you bought a kid a bagel and it
had cream cheese, you were gonna go to jail.
Speaker 2 (36:16):
Okay.
Speaker 1 (36:17):
Then of course there's women's basketball, which has seen stratushat growth,
tremendously tremendous growth, and give it up players like Juju
Watkins and Cameron Brink and yes, Caitlin Clark. You know
it's funny. There used to be the slogan I like Mike,
it's too late for me to copyright this not I
don't care.
Speaker 2 (36:36):
I'm not looking for a money grub.
Speaker 1 (36:38):
I guarantee you somebody put shirts out said I hate Kate,
you know, with a winking and no smiling face emoji
tongue in cheek, probably sell millions of them. I hate Kate,
should have seen the arena in Las Vegas tonight. Well,
but go ahead, carry on, carry on, dude, you gotta do.
And by the way, it's a hell of a rookie class.
Let's give props to all the ladies. But people are good.
(37:00):
I going to keep watching college football because there is
no greater loyalty in American sports than a person's favorite
college Fall Saturdays are awesome. Oh my god, they're awesome.
I think I know a thing or two about this.
I lived fifteen minutes outside of ann Arbor, covered that
(37:23):
team for fourteen years. I grew up as a kid
usc eu Cla. I've been to Notre Dame, been a lot,
you know the Horseshoe. I've been down to LSU, been
to South Carolina game in Columbias South Carolina, have even
been to Ivy League games. There's nothing quite like a
fall Saturday, especially when October rolls around. Do you think
(37:45):
people are gonna stop watching simply because people are players
are getting money that I can't shay you you got
the Mike budd yours are are you around there?
Speaker 2 (37:59):
Shay?
Speaker 1 (38:00):
Okay, so he's gone, all right, h Martin? You with
me about.
Speaker 2 (38:06):
All right? Well we'll come back to this later. We'll
see you know, who's.
Speaker 1 (38:10):
Going to stop watching college football just because you know,
players are getting money by the way, NIL collectives they
won't need to raise as much money as you do currently,
but likely they will. Probably this might be the guardrail
that is needed. I think you're going to see a
salary cap workaround for upper tier programs that have national
(38:34):
championship ambitions because boosters they were including you know, they
were inducing recruits before well before NIL, make no mistake, okay,
and there's no reason to think they'll stop in a
new model. But with players now, this is going to
level the playing field a little bit. When you got
as much as twenty million dollars per school, you know,
being doled out among players, it's amount of money.
Speaker 2 (38:56):
All right.
Speaker 1 (38:57):
Again, the settlement, you know, I want to say it
one last time for emphasis. May twenty twenty four, I
believe will become a day then in the Analyson history
of college sports will be like before and after before
and after day You've got you know, each conference now
(39:18):
that will have the green light to begin revenue sharing
with their student athletes, however they fit as do they
want to do it. This total payout, which is a
derivative of the house versus NCAA case, is just under
three billion dollars and they're winding the clock back to
twenty sixteen, so players who would have lost out on
nil opportunities might claim some recompense. The money's going to
(39:41):
be paid out over a ten year period. Well, the
product and college football change. I think it's going to
change somewhat only because of all the conference realignments and
the different scheduling, but it's gonna be awesome. And we've
even got a what twelve teen playoffs this year over
it many times, so it's still going to be an
(40:02):
awesome product. The sport might look a little different, but
it's equitable. And it's one of those situations that, like
I said, the world evolves, you know, survive at advance
if you will adapt or die. And I think when
you turn on the TV with your favorite beverage is fall,
college football will still look the same. It's just the
(40:23):
players now we'll be getting some due recompense for their
efforts coming up. Mark Medina Medina Magic, we talk NBA
plenty to talk about keep it locked. You're listening to
the Bernie Frattle Show on Fox Sports Radio. That's right,
you heard the man. Bernie Fraddle Show just keeps rolling
right along. My name is Bernie Frattle. We're coming to
live at the tyreck dot com studios here in Las Vegas,
(40:43):
Fox Sports Radio. Tyraq dot com will help you get there.
An unmatched selection, fast free shipping for your rhodazard protection,
and over ten thousand recommended installers. Tyraq dot com the
way tire buying should be. Well. The National Basketball Association
and rages on. We are down to the final four
as we head toward the NBA Finals or three weeks
(41:06):
from the draft. Three four weeks from the draft, and
there is plenty of news all around the league, which
means three simple words. It's that time a guy, Mark
Medina Medina Magic. You hear him every Saturday night midnight
on the Bernie Frattle Show, chopping it up all things NBA.
Mister Medina, how are you on this fine surreally in
(41:26):
blue sky Sunday morning.
Speaker 7 (41:27):
Well, you always know the answer to that. When we're talking.
Always good because a lot of things on tap with
the NBA playoffs, I presume we'll see the Boston Celtics
in the NBA Finals pre soon.
Speaker 1 (41:38):
Yeah, it feels a little anti climactic. I guess we'll
start there. Let's put Boston in the finals without Tyrese Halliburton.
I just don't see it in the cards for Indiana.
But let's flip to the Dallas Minnesota series. It's been
the game within the game. Luca looks unstoppable. Poor Anthony
Edwards looks tired, Luc who's had to guard all three series.
(42:02):
Your thoughts on that series? Do you see a path
from Minnesota to maybe surprise the world the way they
did it's Denver.
Speaker 7 (42:09):
Yeah, I certainly see a path for Minnesota to bounce back.
I mean, when you look at that seven game series
against the Denver Nuggets, every game had its own identity.
First Minnesota gets out two to oh, then Denver's up
three too, and then Minnesota wins the final two games.
So I think that, you know, the lesson learned for
this is a lot of times in the playoffs, you know,
(42:29):
there's not really such a thing as momentum from game
to game, unless, of course, there's an injury, so I
think that Minnesota can bounce back. But this is going
to be easier so than Don Dallas is just on
a whole other level here because Luka Domcic, He's already
been doing the Luca things that we know make him
a special player, but he's also trusted his teammates more.
(42:52):
Also helps that Kyrie Irving is looking like the player
that teamed up with Lebron James in Cleveland to win
a champion in twenty sixteen. They've been a perfect fit
from a x's and o's standpoint as well as personalities,
because Luca is the number one guy but on the
basketball floor, but Kyrie is the leader because he's a
(43:14):
veteran player. And then they have a lot of great
supporting cast members. I think the most notable examples PJ
Washington and Derek Lyiley the second. You know PJ is
a great positional defender one through five, very physical and offensively,
he could hit outside shots. He prepares himself really well
(43:36):
to be able to do catch and shoot, also get downhill.
And Derek Lyly the second he's a rookie, but he
plays like a veteran with just having a lot of
rim protection. I remember talking to him earlier this season.
He was really saying how he's modeled his game after
you know some elite big men like Kakimlachwa, Nikola Joki Gianasntotokumpo,
(43:56):
and you might think, well whatever, it's easy to say
cup to them and emulate them, but he really has
studied their game footage and really trying to emulate the
way they pass and their footwork. And you know, he's
far from a finished product, but he is mastering the fundamentals.
So with that, I think Dallas is going to take
(44:17):
the series, but I think Minnesota can still keep it
competitive starting with a win Game three.
Speaker 1 (44:23):
Yeah, you bring up some good points about the way
this Mavericks team is constructed.
Speaker 2 (44:27):
I find it fascinating.
Speaker 1 (44:28):
Mark. A year ago, at this time, after picking up
Kyrie Irvig, we were scratching our heads as to why
they tanked, but it was almost like a strategic ratique.
You bring up Derek Lively. I think that combination of
him and Daniel Gafford has really helped Kyrie and Luca.
They combined for thirty points, fourteen rebounds, five blocks. The
rekavicat on both ends of the floor, Their length is
(44:51):
changing the look of this Dallas team. Could they carry
them all the way to the championship?
Speaker 7 (44:55):
Oh yeah, for sure. I think they're the real deal.
I think ever since I all of them take their
game to another level against Oklahoma City, the top seeded
team in the West, I had all this team's for
real and they very well could win an NBA championship.
Bottom line is I think whoever comes out of the
West is going to win the NBA title. I think
mist of Dallas have played consistently better than Boston, even
(45:17):
though they have a lot of talent. But I think that,
you know, when push comes to shove, they've had a
relatively easier path through the Eastern Conference because a lot
of the you know, all the teams they faced have
had major injuries, including Indiana's with Tyris Alburn. So yeah,
they are the real deal. And to contrast what you're
(45:39):
talking about last season. To be clear here, ever since
Kyrie Irving got to Dallas, I heard nothing but good
things as far as his fit, his personality. He's not
causing a lot of shenanigans like you did in Brooklyn
and in Boston. But they weren't good enough last season
because a, even though the chemistry was good, they didn't
have a lot of time together, and be the rest
(46:01):
of their roster wasn't good. And so I think that
they decided last offseason it's better to keep Kyrie than
nothing at all. Un let's just try to build from it.
And I would say that even through most of the season,
I thought it was the right move. But they're stealing
as second round and nothing more. But once they made
(46:21):
those trade deadline moves that you mentioned PJ. Washington and
Daniel Gafford, that has dramatically changed their team and you know,
not just featuring two star guys, but actually complete too.
Speaker 1 (46:34):
I like this version of Kyrie. I can hold two
thoughts concurrently. He actually shows up to work and he's
paired with Luca. Listen, I've been, you know, observing and
covering the NBA for a long time. They are as
perhaps at least at least certainly in Spurts. Now you
got to finish the job. Mark, I really want your
(46:55):
opinion on this. I don't think this is aferbly in Spurts,
they look to be as good as any offensive duo
in the history of the game.
Speaker 7 (47:03):
Well, I know that you and Stan Van Gundy think
that way. I'm going to push back, well, only in spurts.
Speaker 2 (47:09):
Only in spurts. Go ahead in.
Speaker 7 (47:11):
Spurts, But look, Kwit Thompson, Steph Curry, are I think
the best backcourt because of the championships they want right
they're shooting. But I would also go down the list,
you know, Jerry West and Calee Goodrich, I would consider
them better. I mean, the bottom line is we're in
the middle of Saint Luca and Kyrie do a lot
(47:33):
of great things their careers, not over their resumes, not
over as a duo, so they very well could do that.
But it's hard for me to, even though I'm singing
their praises, to proclaim them as the best, even in spurts,
when they haven't won a championship together yet.
Speaker 1 (47:46):
Well, and Mark, I can't disagree with any of that,
and I think you can textualize that a much better way.
I you know, I have to say this too, that
I think that Luca and Kyrie are playing in a
very watered down version of the NBA. Okay, I'm sorry,
I will go to my grave with it. Just certain
possessions they just look unguardable.
Speaker 2 (48:08):
They just do.
Speaker 1 (48:08):
But and West did win the one championship, and look
Curry for I hate these arguments. Bill Russell said it best.
Don't compare players, don't compare ghostscenaris.
Speaker 7 (48:19):
I'm going to recuse what I said Nixon in the
early eighties too.
Speaker 1 (48:23):
It was a great point guard on Ducane. I love
the guy, and I was there three years before manager's
rookie year. And he'll bring that offense together. People don't
really realize that. And he graciously stepped aside. Let magic
bring the ball up the court. I know it was there,
so I guess I should really recuse what I said.
It was kind of a dumb comment. Let's move along.
Speaker 7 (48:41):
Can't anything right?
Speaker 1 (48:42):
Please scratch it from the record, your honor. Many Williams
in Detroit. My moles are telling me that he may
they may just eat the sixty million dollars.
Speaker 7 (48:52):
Hell.
Speaker 1 (48:52):
I remember when Trajan Langdon was a rookie at Duke
in a in a struggling mindly baseball player. Look at him.
Now I'm here, and they're going to get rid of
MONTI Williams, what are you hearing?
Speaker 7 (49:05):
Wow? That is interesting. Look with the Detroit Pistons, they
were terrible. This season, so you can't rule anything out.
It's just I don't want to say surprising, but the
fact that it was his first year and there's a
lot of percentage. You know, there's a lot of pies
that blame that people deserve. I think it's management first,
(49:30):
player second. But yeah, Monty Williams didn't do a good
job either. You know, he had the resume in Phoenix,
in New Orleans. He's a veteran coach, but you know,
he was paid a lot of money, not necessarily to
make the Pissons into a contenter, but at least respect respectable,
and they just became a punching bag. So I guess
(49:51):
I'm not surprised. On one hand, it was just, uh,
I thought that they would give it at least another
season of seeing how you know, and improve Raws sure
could fare under him.
Speaker 1 (50:02):
Yeah, it's not a fit of complete I just know
it's being discussed. Yeah, it's very much being discussed, and
I'm guessing you may or may not have heard the
same thing.
Speaker 7 (50:11):
And all that takes is, you know, discussions eventually lead
to decisions. So this might pave the way for that
change this offseason, or it might kind of set the
tone for next season where money is on the hot seat.
Speaker 1 (50:27):
Well, the final thought on that, I would just say this,
they're gonna be the Pistons are on the hook for
the sixty million anyway, and I don't think they were
very pleased with the way the system they overpaid to
get them. You know, they had to really bend over backwards.
I think they regret it, and now with Trajan langdon
coming in, I think they I'm going to just give
(50:47):
it a fifty to fifty deal and keep it right there.
Speaker 2 (50:49):
We'll revisit it later in this summer because you're gonna
be on.
Speaker 1 (50:51):
Fifty two weeks, so moving along. I'm also hearing and
you got better sources than I do for sure on
this matter. I've heard the re that BJA Bickerstaff has
gone as beaking of a Donovan Mitchell had a real
say in the decision. Is that true?
Speaker 7 (51:06):
Well, here's here's where things get tricky with that, because
star players know how things get relayed. I don't think
that he gave ultimatums to Cleveland directly that you got
to fire JB. Bickerstaff, But UH, front offices make decisions
knowing how star players will react. So you know you
(51:31):
can connect the dots there, so I don't think it
was anything direct, but I think Cleveland made this calculus
that their odds would be substantially improving to secure Donovan
Mitchell to an extension if they make some changes the
low hanging fruit obviously as a head coach. But I
won't even stop there. I mean, you know, I'm curious
(51:55):
what kind of trade package they can get for Darius
Garland because they just want you don't want to mess
around in today's NBA when you have a star player,
it's almost like the year before you're a free agent
is actually when you're a free agent, because if he
declines the extension offer, the writing is on the wall
that he's likely gone, and then therefore they have to
(52:18):
decide to trade him so they get something instead of nothing.
So they're trying to do, you know, all these you know,
preemptive things to maximize their odds when Donovan has the
pen to sign.
Speaker 1 (52:31):
And I don't want to imply that he gave anybody
an ultimatum. I do think though, that I would liken
it too. Did you ever hear the real backstory mark
of how Isaiah was left off the nineteen ninety two
Dream teams. Did you ever hear about Kachuck Daily was
the coach of that team. Oh, here's what I heard.
And I'm going to tie this into to Donovan Mitchell.
(52:54):
So they asked Jordan to play. Jerry ryn Storre said, look,
we really, we really want you. Michael, will you please play?
He goes, fax me the roster, fax me the roster.
He is nineteen ninety one, and they faxed him the
roster in Isaiah's name is on the roster and George,
I don't think I'm gonna be able to play, and
so they go, okay, well, what's it gonna take. It'll
(53:15):
fax me the roster again. They faxed the roster again,
a couple of changes. Isaiah's name is on there. Now
I'm not going to play. Well, what's it going to take?
I don't know. Fax me the roster again. Fax the
roster without Isaiah. Jordan goes, okay, I'll play. Very much
stemming from the nineteen ninety one when the bad boys
walked off the court and they took the mantle and
(53:35):
to Jordan rules and there was incredible bad But why
am I going with that? I think it was very passive.
Donovan Mitchell might have been you know, well, you know,
let's just say if he's not here, I won't be
pissed or something. He's something like that. But I think
his opinion was taken into consideration. That that's all I
guess I'm trying to say.
Speaker 7 (53:52):
Yeah, I think we're speaking the same language here. It's
just that, you know, front offices and players. They played chess,
not checkers, so it's more of you know, knowing and
anticipating how someone feels without having the direct contact about it.
Speaker 1 (54:08):
Finally, always good stuff, Mark. I'd be remiss if we
didn't revisit the JJ Reddick conversation right on schedule. I said,
the Lakers is going to milk this role. It's worth
It's now on fifteen days and I will be surprised
if they don't hire JJ Reddick.
Speaker 2 (54:25):
But it's more of an opinion.
Speaker 1 (54:26):
What are your thoughts on the matter and where are
they in the process to Lakers.
Speaker 7 (54:30):
Yeah, I think we'll have this conversation for I think,
what four more weeks or three more weeks, because.
Speaker 1 (54:36):
I think I'm looking like a profit. I say they
were going to milk it at least go ahead continuine.
Speaker 7 (54:40):
I was going to say it's going to happen after
the NBA Finals, before the NBA Draft. And here's a
few things here. The Lakers will say they're doing their
due diligence, they're talking as many people as they can,
and that's technically true. But JJ Reddick's and the driver's seat.
I expect that he'll be the coach. I think what's
happening here. There's a few things. One's a financial part.
(55:02):
They don't technically need a head coach right now when
it's May and they're not in the playoffs, so that
saves a little bit of money. But I think the
bigger driving force is this which validates the Lakers saying, hey,
they're talking to other people too. They want to find
the right coaching staff as well as the right head
(55:22):
coaching candidates. So when they're talking to all these candidates,
it's not just about how would you look in the
head coach's role. It's about how do you look as
an assistant coach or a player development coach depending on
your seniority or you're an experience And then within that,
assuming JJ Uddick's the head coach, how would that fit work?
(55:45):
A lot of times when you have a veteran assistant
coach for a young coach, it can be a good
thing because he can protect that player or that person's
blind spots and help them grow. But sometimes it can
be a landmine because that coach can always wonder, hey,
is that assistant coach trying to take my seat eventually?
So I think it's about, you know, making sure they
(56:06):
find the right fit and that everyone's on the same page.
But I fully expect that JJ Reddick will be named
the head coach before the draft.
Speaker 1 (56:17):
And of course the comparisons to pat Riley inevitable. But
I was there, and I love pat Riley. Pat Riley
took over for a team that had won the championship.
Speaker 7 (56:26):
Can I shoot that down too for you?
Speaker 2 (56:28):
Go ahead?
Speaker 7 (56:29):
Oh yeah, pat pat Riley jumped from the broadcast booth
to coaching, JJ Reddick jumping from the podcast booth to coaching.
But there's a small, slight important detail here. Pat Riley
was an assistant coach first before on.
Speaker 1 (56:45):
The championship team in nineteen eighty I was there. Cores
slicked his hairback, you looked a lot.
Speaker 7 (56:53):
Another key details what you alluded to. Pat Riley became
the head coach of a team that he was already
had a roll on Number one, number two. It was
the showtime Lakers. I mean, yes, Kareem abdul Jabbar was
you know, gain later in his career, but he still
had plenty of basketball left to him. But it was
a young Magic Johnson Therese, the supporting cast is in
(57:14):
their prime. JJ Reddick is interviewing for a job with
a forty year old Lebron James Anthony Davis who has
been a lot healthier than most of his career, but
you also never know, and an unproven supporting cast. So
like completely different scenario here where this head coach and
the Lakers will can see this is that they're having
(57:36):
to handle a lot of tough responsibilities. You're trying to
manage a superstar who's still playing elite level, but you know,
Father time will knock on his door at some point
in lebron ad and whether he can carry the mantle
to be the number one guy once Lebron's right off
in the sunset and then a very fluid roster everywhere else.
(57:59):
On top of that, how how do you prioritize winning
now and developing the players for long term? So yeah,
the pat Riley comparison. It's it's not just apples and oranges.
It's a complete in actorate comparison. So yeah, I degree.
Speaker 1 (58:15):
And while we're getting into the weeds and getting granular,
because I was there, Jack McKinney constructed that offense had
a terrible bicycle accident, got hurt. After seventeen games, Paul
Westhead took over as the dutiful indentured servant.
Speaker 2 (58:30):
They won.
Speaker 1 (58:30):
They won the championship in nineteen eighty. The following year,
Westead changed the offense to a half.
Speaker 2 (58:39):
It would almost be like.
Speaker 1 (58:40):
Taking over the Kansas City Chiefs and saying, you know,
Patrick Wawl, if we're going to run the option now, okay,
Magic Johnson walked in and says I want to be traded,
Get me out of here, and they all lost their minds.
He was on the front page of the La Times.
West Head was fired, pat Riley took over, came out.
You know, he was chick her and sidekick, and it's
his history. So I think it's more the fact that
(59:03):
it's optics and image. Good looking guys slip tear back.
Riley would buy his suits from Florence, Italy. JJ Red's
gonna come in there with an edge because look, man,
I love the hell out of Patrick Riley. He's got
an edge, Man, he has got an edge. Make no mistake.
Reddick's got that same kind of edge. It could play,
it could sell, we'll see. But you're spot on, Mark.
Great stuff is always the comparison, the true comparison. If
(59:26):
people know the backstory between Patrick Riley and JJ Redick,
it's a complete fagazy.
Speaker 7 (59:33):
Yeah, we're both preaching to the choir here. And I'm
saying this as someone who respects JJ Reddick a lot,
great NBA career, great basketball mind. I think he'll do
a good job as a head coach. It's just that
the dynamics with the Lakers and everything in play here,
it makes for a very tough assignment, to say the least.
Speaker 1 (59:55):
I'm all about out of the box hires, my friend.
All Right, great stuff is always Mark looked for and
you get you back next Aurday Night.
Speaker 7 (01:00:00):
Appreciate you.
Speaker 1 (01:00:02):
That is Mark Medina, Medina Magic. You hear him every
Saturday Midnight and the Bernie Frattle Show, and of course
you hear him all around the network, Fox Sports Radio.
He is in fact on Fox Sports radio guru. One
other bit of business. There's a guy by the name
it rhymes with Bronnie James. Will he be drafted?
Speaker 9 (01:00:20):
Well?
Speaker 2 (01:00:20):
Stephen A.
Speaker 1 (01:00:21):
Smith intimated there's a certain NBA team that no one's
talking about that could actually draft Bronnie James.
Speaker 2 (01:00:28):
I'll share it.
Speaker 1 (01:00:29):
Coming up, I'm Bernie Fraddle who come to you live
from the Las Vegas Fox Sports Radio tirerack dot com studios.
Keep it locked right here. You're listening to the Bernie
Frattle Show on Fox Sports Radio. We're back on the
Bernie Fraddle Show, Fox Sports Radio. Come to you live
through tyrerack dot com studios here in Las Vegas. Coming
up bottom of the hour after Martin's update, Aaron Rodgers
(01:00:51):
is back on his back talking anyway, We'll fill in
the blanks on that one. So many people still believe
the Lakers will seek to draft Bronnie James, partly I
have a desire to make Lebron happy.
Speaker 2 (01:01:02):
But Stephen A.
Speaker 1 (01:01:03):
Smith believes there is actually one Western Conference team that
might try to pee on that parade, if it is
a parade. Just this last Tuesday, Steven A. Smith's intimated
that the Dallas Mavericks might try to draft Bronni in
an effort to attempt Lebron into leaving the Lakers. He
also said that the presidence of Kyrie Irving might make
(01:01:25):
playing in Dallas more attractive from Lebron's perspective. I don't know.
I'm not saying it ain't gonna happen, but I feel
like that if the Mavericks won a hatch a plan
like this.
Speaker 2 (01:01:38):
They're gonna need to trade into at least a second round.
They're only picking the entire draft.
Speaker 1 (01:01:43):
Is the fifty eighth and final selection, it's safe to
say they might not get Bronni at that point. I
believe me he's probably he's two hundred and one to
be drafted one overall. If the Atlanta Hawks draft Bronnie
number one overall, you're in line for a front of lobotomy.
I got nothing against Brownie. I think he's a class kid.
Every time I've heard him talk, everywhere I've seen him
(01:02:05):
conduct himself. Really really an impressive young man. I really
like his I like his the cut of his jib.
But come on, man, he was second team All league
in high school. Okay, he averaged four point point four
point eight points a game as a backup player for
a team that went eight and twelve in conference. Please, okay,
(01:02:25):
if his name was Eddie Gazinski, we're not talking about this.
But listen, we're we're living in interesting times. The Chinese
always said, maybe live in interesting times, and we are.
And I think Lebron's made it, no bones about it.
And it's not le Broni's dream. It's Lebron's dream to
play with Brownie. I think Brownie's a pretty well grounded kid.
I really do, from everything I've seen. Usually, you know
(01:02:48):
it was everybody hating on him. Manager's chasing his dream. No,
he's chasing your dream, Lebron. But I also don't think
Lebron will leave Los Angeles anytime soon.
Speaker 2 (01:02:57):
I just don't.
Speaker 1 (01:02:58):
But if you're the Mavericks and you've got Carrie, you've
got Luca, and you have le Bron to the mix,
all of a sudden, now they're going to be talked
about more in the newspapers than the Dallas Cowboys. But
story for a different day coming up. Aaron Rodgers is back, well,
back talking again. I'll share with you what we have heard.
But first let's go back to our guy, Martin Weiss
(01:03:20):
with the latest.
Speaker 8 (01:03:22):
The Boston Celtics leave the Eastern Conference Finals three games
to none after last night's come from behind victory one
fourteen to one eleven. Jason Tatum scored thirty six points
Andrew Nemhard had thirty two points in the loss of
Pacers led for most of this game, at one point,
as much as eighteen points of all NBA pacer guard
Tyre's Halliburton miss Game three with the shore Hams during
(01:03:42):
the same hamstring that had been bothering him for most
of the second half of the season. There's no word
on his status for Game four NHL Western Conference Final,
Dallas beat Edmonton three to one. Mason march Mitt broke
a third period one to one tie. Dallas eventually talied
an empty netter to give the Stars a two goal
lead in the game, and event for the final series
is tied one game a piece. In the WNBA back
(01:04:04):
to back defending champs the Las Vegas Aces, they thumped
the Indiana Fever ninety nine to eighty fever. We're on
the second night of a back to back. Asia Wilson
for the Aces had twenty nine points and fifteen rebounds.
Kelsey Plumb twenty points seven assists. Caitlin Clark for the
Fever eight point seven assists, six turnovers. Fever now one
and six on the season. Aaron Judges homered in four
(01:04:28):
straight games. The Yankees beat the Padres down to San
Diego four to one. New York looks to sweep the
three game series later today at four to ten Eastern.
The Dodgers lost four straight, the most recent being yesterday
three to one lost.
Speaker 9 (01:04:41):
To the Reds.
Speaker 8 (01:04:42):
Walker Buehler gave up three runs and six hits over
five and two thirds innings pitched. Let's see Saint Louis
won it's fourth straight, seven to six over the Cubs.
Minnesota when it's fourth street, fourth straight five to three
over the Rangers. Rangers have lost six in a row, Bernie,
back to you.
Speaker 1 (01:04:59):
All right, thanks Martin, And of course it was any nfever.
We're whopping thirteen and twenty seven last year, So I
don't know what people might have been expecting on them.
Brutal start to the season, and this rooky class has
just been getting mauled. I mean, I Angel reached very classy, said,
hey man, we know you know they're going to come
for us.
Speaker 2 (01:05:17):
It comes for Caitlin Clark too.
Speaker 1 (01:05:18):
If you watch that game Friday night or check that
Saturday night, she was blitzed and they running her like
a rented mule. So anyway, it's an interesting dynamic this
year in the WNBA. We'll see if they can build
on this popularity. If you wanted to go to the
game Saturday night in Las Vegas, it's only one hundred
and ninety seven a ticket.
Speaker 2 (01:05:37):
We all know why.
Speaker 1 (01:05:38):
Aaron Rodgers is back, we'll talking anyway. He's your starting
quarterback of the New York Jets.
Speaker 2 (01:05:45):
Remember that.
Speaker 1 (01:05:46):
But he's apparently healthy now ready for a potential do
or die season. And we heard a very introspective Aaron
Rodgers this past week. He said, quote, I don't If
I don't do what I'm capable of doing, we're all
probably going to be out of here. And he said
it after his first OTA practice, or maybe it was
(01:06:06):
the second one. It was the first time the media
had access to the OTAs, which stands for Official Team activities.
If he didn't know, says quoteough, I like that kind
of pressure, though I kind of have to believe him
on that. I do, okay, he is a four time MVP.
But the narrative continued because he talked about the fates
of coach Robert Sala and even the general manager, Joe Douglas.
(01:06:28):
He says, I think he's basically saying our entire lives hinge.
On the twenty twenty four season, the Jets, they're whopping
eighteen and thirty three under Salam Douglas, and they are hoping.
I'm gonna guess that their rosary has rope burns on
their hands from the praying that they're going to have
to do with this roster that has to be a
(01:06:48):
win now roster the NFL's longest playoff drought thirteen years.
Speaker 2 (01:06:52):
He got a four year old quarterback.
Speaker 1 (01:06:54):
He's not only that, he's put himself on the hot
seat as well. He went on to say, you might
not say it, but as you get older in the league,
if you don't perform, they're going to get rid of
you and bringing the next guy to take over.
Speaker 2 (01:07:05):
Well, they're going to do that after a year.
Speaker 1 (01:07:06):
I'm two, she says, justin fields, all right, it's ten
and twenty eight didn't do real well. So if you're
young old, I don't care who you are. The old
not for long, right, But he goes on to say,
it happened in Green Bay. To me, now, I'm a
few years older than I was back then. By the way,
huge props to Jordan Love. Hope they pay the man.
(01:07:28):
Really love what he's doing there. I see what I
did there. Naron Rodgers willow to say, I expect to
play at a high level. I expect this to be
productive and competitive and all that stuff. To take care
of himself. For the first time in eight months, Rogers
got under center, presided over the Jeff starting offense. From
what I'm hearing, I didn't see it. He showed he
(01:07:49):
looked pretty sharp from what I'm hearing, did not look rusty,
did not appear to show any lingering effects from the
torn achilles. He's doing everything now. They're not in you know,
full contactoring like that. But there was a ninety minute
practice and he was a perfect two for two in
his first eleven on eleven period, five for five and
a seven on seven period, and apparently he completed eleven
(01:08:11):
straight more passes before he missed Exavier Gibson on a
deep sideline route. But and this isn't as easy as
you know people think. I mean, I understand Kayleb Williams.
I don't know if it's true through seven straight interceptions
in the Bears practice.
Speaker 2 (01:08:24):
But look, you know, people start slow.
Speaker 1 (01:08:28):
You to hear my Caitlin Clark commentary, You'll see where
I'm going with at the top of the r But
I digress. Look, everything was lined enough for the Jets
last year. We all drank the koolid. We're all watching.
It energized the team. I mean, they had a very
disappointing last season. The Jets still managed to go seven
(01:08:49):
to ten. They cycled in three other quarterbacks. You know,
Nathaniel Hackett's going to remain the play caller. I guess
it's okay with Rogers. But here here's the comment. It
really stood out to me. He said, I don't want
to go out as a bum. So that's why I
put in the work and believe in my abilities. I mean,
you guys saw today there's no pads on. But I
(01:09:11):
can obviously still throw it with the best. I can
obviously still throw it with the best of them, and
I can still move around. Okay, wait, wait a minute, Rogers,
you're a four time MVP. You're going to the Hall
of Fame. I know you only win one super Bowl,
but better than some people and win any Are you insecure?
Speaker 2 (01:09:28):
You really really?
Speaker 1 (01:09:29):
You gotta tell us you can throw a football. You
you gotta ask us if you can still move around.
You have to be able to move around. If you're
an NFL quarterback, you have to have a base level
of talent. Right, this is a weird vibe I'm getting
out of Aaron Rodgers. So you know, all I can
(01:09:50):
say is that you know the Jets are either going
to win or they're not gonna win. And I think
if the Jets don't make the playoffs, all bets are off.
I think Rogers very much has his finger on the
pulse that it really is do or die. Playoffs are
(01:10:10):
bust something I don't know. Whatever analogy, cute analogy you
want to use, fair enough, but I think there's a
real awareness. I think he's really concerned. I think he's
really concerned. It didn't end well in Green Bay. Rogers
has become sort of a punchline. He brought it upon himself.
(01:10:31):
You know, he talks about his life being a beautiful mystery. No,
it ain't beautiful, and it ain't a mystery. We know
who you are and Rogers and by the way. I
think your legacy is fairly well secure. You're one of
the best quarterbacks to ever play the game. And I
realize again the only the one super Bowl, fair enough,
But let's not, you know, pick on the ward on
(01:10:51):
Lincoln's nose. The man has done a lot in the league,
has been around a long time, and now he's showing
kind of a little bit more of a human side.
We're not hearing about sitting in some dark room for
three days, or dating movie stars or any of that stuff.
Right from what I'm hearing, Rogers walking back through that door.
(01:11:11):
Participating in OTAs has genuinely, genuinely energized the Jets. If
Rogers is healthy, the tide rises, all the boats are
gonna rise. Even the defensive coordinator, Jeff Lulberg, said he
thought it was amazing. He's watching Aaron Rodgers and he's like,
what's going on in here? Has he found the fountain
(01:11:34):
of youth? It's the same guy I saw years ago
when he was dicing up the scout team staff. Look,
Rogers is only practicing on a limited basis, okay, and
he's tying to he's working with the backups right now.
Have we forgotten how improbable to come back this is
(01:11:54):
gonna be after having surgery on that left achilles, and
I don't think he's anywhere near a hundred percent right now.
I don't see possibly how his footwork and lateral movement
are going to be what they were in the past.
How can it not be compromised when you're forty and
you have a torn achilles and you are you know,
(01:12:15):
you're forty years I just said that, you're forty years
old and you're trying to heal. Now, I understand. As
the days went on he got a little sharper. He
participated in all the pre practice calistenics with the team,
did the actual running. This is stuff he was not
able to do at the end of last season when
he started to get on the field. Remember those rumors
he might come back. No, that wasn't going to happen.
(01:12:36):
So the Jets were seven and ten, and look, I
would just say this, if you are Jets fans, and
if you are Jets manager, sit Aaron Rodgers down and say,
can we please focus on football please? I don't want
to hear anything about Shalley and Woodley and I just
throw that's his throwaway line.
Speaker 2 (01:12:55):
But you know, it wasn't that long ago.
Speaker 1 (01:12:57):
Just weeks ago, Rogers made headlines when he was a
man and as a potential running mate by Robert F.
Kennedy Junior, who's on the ticket as an independent presidential candidate.
Rogers he said that, you know, being a vice president,
a vice president dential candidate was a real thing. I
don't want to hear that from my quarterback. I want
here know I got I got other fish to fry.
I got bigger fish to fry. Starting quarterback of the
(01:13:18):
New York Jets. Let's see if RFK could pull that off.
But he goes on, I love Bobby. We had a
couple of really nice conversations. But there are two options.
It was retiring, be a VP, or keep playing. I
want to keep playing. Okay, fine, let's just cut the bs.
Concentrate on football. This is going to be one hell
of a story. And I think Green Bay is like
six primetime games this year, which I think is uh
(01:13:42):
is really cool. And we're watching it and look, are
you root for the story. That's what Dick Schapp taught me.
You're root for the story. Tell me this is going
to be tell me this is not going to be
a story, and let's let's face it, we are. We
are all here for the story. So what's the bottom line. Well,
Aaron Rodgers has clearly embraced the gravity of the situation
(01:14:07):
in Green Bay. He actually sounds a little insecure.
Speaker 6 (01:14:10):
All Right.
Speaker 1 (01:14:10):
I just got back from London and I want to
talk about what's pretty cool in the NFL schedule this
upcoming season. All of the international games, including three in London.
You know you love watching him? Come on, you know
you do. They're pretty cool. You complain about getting up early,
but you're gonna do it. By the way, shortly after
the show tonight, our podcast will be going up our
(01:14:32):
gut Shay Moganngard.
Speaker 2 (01:14:33):
To put it up.
Speaker 1 (01:14:34):
If you missed any of today's show, be sure to
check out the podcast. Just search Fox Sports Radio wherever
you get your podcasts. Be sure to follow a rate
and review the podcast. Again, just search Fox Sports Radio
wherever you get your podcasts. And if he the show
posted right after we get off the air, come it up.
Let's go over some of those international games. I'm already
(01:14:54):
looking forward to him, especially since I got to goole
inside the locker room and on the field that Tottenham
HOTSPR Stadium the other day, where two games will be played.
I Bernie Fraddle, We're coming you live from the Las
Vegas Fox Sports Radio tarret dot com studios. Keep it
locked right here. Don't go away. You're listening to the
Bernie Fraddle Show on Fox Sports Radio. All right back
(01:15:15):
at the Bernie Frattle Show, Fox Sports Radio, coming to
live from the tarret dot com studios here in Las Vegas.
I just got back from London. Is in London these
past few days, and as part of my journey, I
visited both stadiums that the NFL would be playing games
at this year. I actually tweeted out a picture standing
(01:15:39):
in front of Wembley Stadium at two different angles. And
one of the games will be played at Wembley Stadium
this year. It will be on let's see, it'll be
October twentieth, between New England and Jacksonville. But here's the situation.
The NFL is truly becoming an NFL. I checked that
(01:16:01):
at an international sport, and they're gonna be playing games
in three countries this year. And when they announced this schedule,
they you know, the international portion of the schedule will
commence October sixth between the New York Jets Aaron Rodgers
and the Minnesota Vikings at Tottenham Otsper Stadium. That will
be the first of three London games this season. I
(01:16:21):
got to go there as well, go in the locker rooms, clubhouse,
or ever go on the field. An amazing stadium, so
it'll been open five years and so October sixth will
be the first of three London games. Meanwhile, Jacksonville will
play back to back weeks in London against the Chicago
Bears and New England Patriots. And in that situation, Jacksonville
(01:16:44):
will play at Tottenham Otspur October thirteenth, and then the
following week they'll play theyll play against the Bears and
then they'll go about twenty minutes away to Wembley Stadium
on October twentieth to play the New England Paid. So
those are your three London games. But it all starts
for fun September sixth on a Friday, whereby the Eagles
(01:17:11):
will play the Green Bay Packers Aaron Rodgers old team,
at Corinthians Reno Arena in Sale Paulo, Brazil. First time ever,
this will be the time first time the NFL has
ever taken this product. Not only into a foreign country
four games in the same season. In addition, will be
(01:17:35):
the first time ever going to Brazil on Friday, September sixth,
The league announced that back in April again after the
Jets Vikings matchup, Jaggs returned to the UK back to
back matchups in London for the second time. They played
the Bears Tottenham outsp October thirteenth, the Patriots at Wimpley
on October twenty So quite an international schedule, by the way,
(01:17:58):
not for nothing you already probably know this. Netflix is
also win of de Fray. Christmas Day is on a
Wednesday this year, so the NFL's two Christmas Day games
will be streaming on Netflix. Netflix struck a three season
deal they'll broadcast at least one Christmas Day game in
twenty five and twenty six. Also pretty good doubleheader on
(01:18:19):
Christmas Day Wednesday at one o'clock Eastern and the Kansas
City Chiefs will face off against the Pittsburgh Steelers and
then the Baltimore Ravens in the Houston Texans at four
thirty Eastern, also on Christmas Day. Christmas falls on a Wednesday,
this doubleheader will be the first NFL game on a
Wednesday since twenty twenty, when COVID nineteen forced the league
(01:18:42):
to reschedule a matchup. You remember this, The Pittsburgh Steelers
were really really you know, scrambling then after their fast start,
and they played Baltimore. This is historical, Okay. The NFL's
actually only played one other Wednesday games.
Speaker 2 (01:18:59):
Since nineteen forty eight.
Speaker 1 (01:19:00):
They had to reschedule a game in twenty twelve between
the Dallas Cowboys and New York Giants to a Wednesday
because they didn't want to compete with Barack Obama's schedule
speech at the Democratic National Convention. So last year, as
you recall, the NFL played a tripleheaderround December twenty fifth.
That was a Monday that averaged twenty two million viewers
(01:19:23):
a game. The Packers Dolphins game was a twenty six million.
Suffice it to say, it's almost upon us, and yes,
the NFL will be playing games all around the.
Speaker 2 (01:19:34):
World and we'll be watching.
Speaker 1 (01:19:36):
All right, you know you've made it when there's this
kind of hate. I'm going to give my perspective on
Caitlin Clark coming up. Don't miss it. You listened to
the Bernie Fraddle Show on Fox Sports Radio that's right.
You heard the man. The Bernie Fradle Show keeps rolling
right along. My name is Bernie Fratle. We are company
liar from the tirech dot Com studios here Ian Las Vegas.
Speaker 2 (01:19:58):
Tyreracht dot com.
Speaker 1 (01:20:00):
I don't have you get there and unmatched selection fast for
your shipping, for your OWNAZID protection and over ten thousand
recommend an installers tyrack dot com the way tire buying
should be. By the way, don't forget we are one
hour away from the dance dance sensation feet of the nation.
What kind of brand new fool you? Followed by a
lengthy list of what My name, Martin weisill jump in, sham,
(01:20:22):
Moganngard will jump in, of course, Mark Ramsey will jump in.
It'll be all kinds of fun for the whole family.
Let's talk about Caitlin Clark. You know, there are objective
truths and there are personal feelings. You may not like
Caitlyn Clark, you may not respect Caitlyn Clark. You may
not think Caitlin Clark's that good, but you will deal
(01:20:44):
with Caitlyn Clark. Cost one hundred and ninety seven dollars
a ticket to get into the michelob Light Arena tonight.
There was almost eleven thousand people there. They never draw
that many. They don't draw that many. It's a matter
of fact. If you look at the NWNB, objectively typical
(01:21:04):
WNBA game attracts about four thousand plus attendees. That puts
them in line with mid level college game attendants. And
this is a legal he's.
Speaker 2 (01:21:15):
Head into this year. It's never made money. Okay, I'm just.
Speaker 1 (01:21:19):
Saying again, objective truths and personal feelings. You all up
in your fields about this. Knock yourself out, light up
my feels. I'm going to speak truth. That's what I do.
Advanced ticket sales in Indianapolis this past summer at the
record levels, record prices, season tickets sold out. The team
was even offering a new system where you can electronically
(01:21:39):
line up each day to get tickets for upcoming games.
Eleven thousand in Vegas tonight, nineteen thousand in LA last night.
And people, some people are so happy that after four games,
I know they played seven. Now I get it. She
joined the stinky team, played the first two top defenses. Look,
(01:22:01):
I'm not gonna defend her because no matter what I say,
your mind is made up, and I'm okay with that.
Think what you want to think. I'm not here telling
you what you should think. I'm chill. I have my opinion,
you have yours. And after four whole games, I know
it's been seven now started after three games. Yeah, see,
(01:22:23):
you could really justify what Dana Trossi said. I don't
care what Dana Trossi said. She's pissed off in jealous
like the rest of him. Deal with it. Here's where
Caitlin Clark is in good company. There are massive expectations
surrounding her. I have no idea what her MBWNBA career
is going to look like. Was she ever won a championship?
Speaker 2 (01:22:41):
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (01:22:43):
Will she be a scoring I don't know. She's the
all time scoring leader in college. That's an objective fact,
not a personal feel, an objective fact. But y'all want
to piss on that as well too. You ever ever
got named Willie Mays. Willie Mays was zero for fourteen
in his first four team at bats. Leod de Rocher
saw him crying at the end of the bench and
(01:23:04):
he said, skip, send me down. I'm not good enough
to be here. Leo de Roascher put his armor on him, says,
yes you are. You are my center fielder. I don't
care what happens. The rest is history.
Speaker 2 (01:23:16):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:23:16):
Willie Mays, the great Willie Mays, God bless him, just
turned ninety three about a month ago. An electrifying player,
Hall of Famer, had a very slow start. I don't
know what they were saying about him on Twitter back
in nineteen fifty one, but I'm sure you could research it.
Do you ever have a guy named Ken Griffy Jr.
(01:23:38):
Greatest player in Mariner's history? Men among boys, eighteen years
old the minor leagues. I saw him in single eight
he was a minimum boys. A year later, he's in
the major leagues. Nineteen year old, starting centerfielder, less than
two years after he graduate from high school. And Ken
Griffy's first fourteen games, Ken Griffy Jr. He batted one
(01:23:58):
eighty nine, batted one eighty nine. Now, I don't know
what Twitter said about him back in nineteen ninety, but
you know, figure it out. Maybe you heard of Sandy Kofax.
Kofax struggled for three or four years. He couldn't throw strikes,
had a mediocre thirty six and forty record four to
(01:24:18):
ten were earned run average. But he got turned around
after he got a coach and a pitching coach, Norm Sherry,
that worked with him on his delivery. Went on from
the rest of the way to be seventy three games
over five hundred, one of the most dominant pitchers of
all time. I'm not even anywhere near being done Adrian Beltra,
(01:24:42):
and I know you all folks remember what a great
job he did in Los Angeles.
Speaker 2 (01:24:46):
He's a Hall of Famer.
Speaker 1 (01:24:48):
Let's go back to Beltri's rookie season in nineteen ninety
eight and seventy seven games with the Dodgers. Beltre hit
twoin fifteen, well below the league average of e other rookies,
hit just two home runs in his first one hundred
and fifty two at bats. Second season, he started to
figure it out. You ever heard of a guy named
(01:25:11):
Johnny Bench, arguably the greatest catcher of all time. They
called him up to the big leagues in the nineteen
sixty seven season. In his first twenty six games, he
hit won sixty three. The Reds weren't concerned. Again, I
don't know what they were saying on Twitter back in
nineteen sixty three. But if Adrian Beltra and Johnny Bench,
(01:25:34):
and and you know, Sandy Kofax and Ken Griffy Junior
can all have Willie mains, can all have slow starts.
How about Edgar Martinez, one of the greatest hitters of
all time bat has just won seventy three in his
first thirty two games in the minor leagues in this
(01:25:56):
short season Class A Northwest League at billing him not
a great minor league, he kind of figured it out.
George Brett. Everybody knows who George Brett is. Hall of Famer.
His reputation as a pure hitter, he was undeniable, but
he got called up in nineteen seventy three. His first
forty two games, he was under two hundred for forty
(01:26:20):
two games. Took a while to develop. In nineteen seventy four,
they thought he was developing. He was a full time
third baseman, started one hundred and thirty three games, he
batted two thirty six, and then he started to arrive
after August of that season, after playing one hundred and
sixty five games in a major league. In the final
(01:26:41):
month of the season in nineteen seventy four, Brett hit
three thirty eight, twelve doubles in five triples, and then
he became George Brett. His final career tally three zero
five lifetime average and fifty four hits. Oh yeah, I
won three batting titles A an MVP. You may have
heard of a guy named Reggie Jackson long before he
was through October. Reggie Jackson was a rookie. In his
(01:27:05):
first one hundred and thirty five at bats for the
Oakland A's may maybe might have even been to Kansas
City a's.
Speaker 2 (01:27:12):
I gotta done.
Speaker 1 (01:27:13):
In nineteen sixty seven, he had a batting average of
one hundred and seventy eight, and then those one hundred
and thirty he had a batting average of one to
seventy nine one hundred and seventy and wake up Bernie. Uh.
Not only that, in those one hundred and thirty five
at bats, he struck out about sixty times. Yeah, strackouts
(01:27:34):
continued to be an issue, but Reggie Jackson eventually got
things rolling. Even in his first full season he hit
two fifty, which may be respectable because he had home runs,
but two fifty he is really not respectable in Major
League Baseball? Is it cal Ripkan You all know about
cal Ripken got called up at age twenty.
Speaker 2 (01:27:54):
A lot of.
Speaker 1 (01:27:56):
A lot of expectations for cal Ripkin because his father,
cal Rippan Senior, was a longtime coach for the team.
But it started very rough for cal Ripkins first twenty
three Major League Baseball games, Ripken hit one twenty eight,
no extra bates hits. But it all turned. I could
go on and out. I could do the rest of
the next three shows on Hall of Fame players. By
(01:28:18):
the way, every one of those players I just mentioned
is in the Hall of Fame, every one of them.
Speaker 2 (01:28:22):
But they started slow.
Speaker 1 (01:28:24):
And you're gonna tell me after three or four games
you presume to know about Caitlin Clark, and I hear
it in people's voices. They are so happy, they are
so happy that she's starting slowly again.
Speaker 2 (01:28:38):
Not gonnabit you. I'm not gonna convince you of anything.
Speaker 1 (01:28:40):
I'm just telling you she's in good company because all
these other great players also had slow starts. That's what
happens when you get a target on your back, that's
what It's not just her, but she seems to have
a special badge for some reason. Now, look, only time
will tell I have no idea where she's gonna end
(01:29:02):
up in the NBA in terms of her lifetime legacy, statistically,
championship wise.
Speaker 2 (01:29:07):
All those things.
Speaker 1 (01:29:09):
She joined a bad team and they've had a very
rough schedule to start things out, playing very good teams
with very good offensive are very good defensive players, and
they blitzer. Man, all you do is watch the game
for Saturday night in Las Vegas. They blitzer her. And
by the way, it's not just her, They're doing it
to Angel Reese and Ricky Jackson the rest of them.
I mean, all this young rookie class, a lot of
(01:29:29):
really really talented players.
Speaker 2 (01:29:32):
Some are starting off better than others.
Speaker 1 (01:29:34):
But man, if you're gonna dog her after five games
or seven games, check yourself before you wreck yourself. You're
not impressed with me with that. Given a season, Let's
see what one season says. But I just shared with
you how some other players also had slow starts. I
want to make this abundantly clear because people listen selectively.
I am not necessarily predicting greatness for Caitlin Clark and
(01:29:58):
the WNBA. She can shoot, she can play, she's not overmatched.
She's got a brilliant transition game. She's a superb pastor.
She's creating things for other teammates. Yeah, they're bring the turnovers.
People can't wait to tell us about that. I get it,
And you got to tell the whole story because she's
got her pocket picked a lot so far.
Speaker 2 (01:30:20):
But she's in good company.
Speaker 1 (01:30:21):
I just ripped off the list of a bunch of
names that are all Hall of famers. They all got
off the slow starts. It's no sin to get off
to a slow start. Now they all ended up in
the Hall of Fame. I'm not saying Caitlin Clark's going
to be in the Hall of Fame, but I'm not
saying she's not either. What I'm saying is, can we
all just back off just a little bit and let
nature take its course. Can you really look in your
(01:30:42):
mirror and ask yourself why you lie and wait to
pick on Caitlin Clark so badly? Maybe you got a
really good reason, tell us, tell us share.
Speaker 2 (01:30:51):
It with me.
Speaker 1 (01:30:52):
I'm an open minded guy, and I've always said the
most boring conversations are when everybody agrees. But regardless, I
think it's a little too soon to draw any conclusions.
In much the same way it was to draw conclusions
about the many star players that I talked about in
the last eleven minutes coming up. So Shane went to
(01:31:16):
Arizona State, Martin went to Michigan, and if you look
at their two schedules next year, they're intriguing, really good schedules,
playing in cities and teams that hadn't TIP particularly played
the past. So the notion, as was intimated by former
CBS president Neil Pilson, if we go down the road
(01:31:36):
of paying players substantial sums, all would be lost. People
will stop watching, public will lose interest if athletes are
compensated beyond their scholarships.
Speaker 2 (01:31:46):
Yeah, I don't think so.
Speaker 1 (01:31:48):
You got three years of data that now confirms the
argument complete bogus. But I want to bring in Shane,
bringing Martin, will bring in Mark Ramsey as well. I
think I know what the answer to the question is
going to be. But I want to get their thoughts
and also get their thoughts on this NIL deal, which
was many, many years in coming. It's not excuse me,
it's not an NIL deal. It's a settlement house versus NCAA.
(01:32:09):
It's been in court for years. Two point seventy five
billion dollars in settlements money be paid out of our
ten year period. As much as twenty million per school
will be doled out among current and former athletes. I'm cool.
Speaker 2 (01:32:23):
I'm cool.
Speaker 1 (01:32:24):
If you talk to people that are closer to this
situation than I am. It's as Victor Hugo once said,
a thousand armies cannot stop an idea whose time has.
Speaker 2 (01:32:32):
Come and it is here.
Speaker 1 (01:32:34):
Will the change your viewing habits ain't going to change mind.
Speaker 2 (01:32:37):
We'll bring in the crew see what they think.
Speaker 1 (01:32:39):
I'm Bernie fraddlew coming to your life from Las Vegas,
Fox Sports Radio, Tierract dot Com studios. Keep it locked
right here. You're listening to the Bernie Fradles Show on
Fox Sports Radio. All right back at the Bernie Frattle Show,
Fox Sports Radio. Coming to life from the Tiract dot
Com studios here in Lots of Vegas. I want to
start with Martin Weiss. Martin, I want to get your
(01:32:59):
thoughts on that whole NCA settlement. But your Michigan Wolverines,
your National champion Michigan Wolverines. Yeah, they may start out
playing five games at home in the Big House, but
you got Texas USC coming in. Their first row game
is at Washington. They'll play the Oregon Decks in the
Big House. Fascinating schedule alongside the usual Big Ten suspects.
(01:33:20):
Could you imagine not watching just because players are getting paid.
Speaker 9 (01:33:23):
Now, Absolutely not. I will watch.
Speaker 8 (01:33:27):
I don't really care that players are getting paid, like
in the you know, in the concept of watching like
I'm happy for them. I think that they should be
getting paid, and I think it makes a lot more
sense that they'd be getting paid directly by basically the
university which employs them. I mean, when I was at
the University of Michigan, I was a telemarketer for telefund
and I got paid by the university for doing that job,
(01:33:49):
and I probably did not work as hard as the
college football players did.
Speaker 2 (01:33:54):
Yeah, I think that's a fair point.
Speaker 1 (01:33:56):
You're you are essentially a representative of the university, and
I think this deal over time is gonna be something
that will look back and people say, what didn't do
it sooner?
Speaker 2 (01:34:09):
Do you agree with that?
Speaker 8 (01:34:10):
I think absolutely, Once people see that the sky in
fact did not fall, you know, Humpty dumpty State on
the wall, and you know, guess what, Michigan and Ohio
State still don't like each other.
Speaker 9 (01:34:23):
I think that everybody.
Speaker 8 (01:34:24):
Yeah, once, you know, people are resistant to change in general,
but I think once they see that again everything is fine,
then you know, everything will be business as usual.
Speaker 1 (01:34:34):
Martin, you got to be of course again your defending
national championship championship team very well deserved. How excited are
you for this schedule? I mean when you see the
likes of Texas and USC and Oregon in Washington all
in the regular season, now, what are your thoughts about that?
Speaker 8 (01:34:51):
I missed the days where it was Northwestern in Indiana
on the way to national title trying.
Speaker 9 (01:34:57):
It's great to see all this. I'm not gonna lie.
Speaker 8 (01:35:00):
It's gonna be awesome to see these big quote unquote
regular season games. But it does not bode well I
think for you know, running the next college football dynasty,
despite you know, losing the head coach and quarterback, which
is probably a bigger deal than the schedule, but still.
Speaker 1 (01:35:17):
Fair And to your point, they still do play Indiana
and Northwestern and Ohio State in Illinois and Minnesota and
actually open up against Fresno State in to play Arkansas
State week three Sandwich down there with the Texas game.
But I think in terms of college football being big business,
these matchups.
Speaker 2 (01:35:34):
Are just so delicious, Martin.
Speaker 1 (01:35:37):
I mean, who can forget the years USC Michigan and
the Rose Bowl going at it all those years, Ricky
leaves to Charles White, fantom fumble game, rookie Bill coming
in running.
Speaker 2 (01:35:46):
For one hundred and thirty six yards.
Speaker 1 (01:35:48):
You remember Michigan playing Texas back in I think two
thousand and five. They took they lost by one point.
That was a vincion team in Oregon. I covered the
game in two thousand and seven when Oregon came in
and thumped yd. Remember Michigan lost to Appalachian State.
Speaker 2 (01:36:07):
Were you there?
Speaker 1 (01:36:08):
Were you there? Then?
Speaker 2 (01:36:09):
I was not.
Speaker 8 (01:36:09):
I was a senior in high school. Uh, thinking about
where I was gonna go to college. But they ended
up with They lost Apple Achian State, then they lost
to Oregon the next weekend MS against.
Speaker 1 (01:36:19):
Games, yep, that's right. And and for the record, they
beat Lloyd Carr in his final game. UH beat Florida
and ten Tibo and Irvin Meyer, and they ended up
they ended up writing themselves nicely. Now I'm with you.
You're being honest here, being objective and pragmatic. It's gonna
be very hard to win the National championship game this year. However,
with a new playoff format, I think they're gonna get
in the dance. You got your own more still got
(01:36:41):
a lot of athletes coming back.
Speaker 2 (01:36:43):
Yeah.
Speaker 9 (01:36:43):
I think that's really what it boils down to.
Speaker 8 (01:36:45):
If you're gonna be able to make it quote unquote
easier to or I should say this, if there's gonna
be more and more opportunities to compete for a championship
in a in a more traditional professional playoff format that
we're used to seeing this show. Let's have some some
some game in the regular season that you know, we'll
have a little that you wouldn't mind losing quote unquote
(01:37:05):
as opposed to just knowing that the thing that we
used to know was true about college football back in
those days of the Applastias State versus Michigan, Dave, if
you lose that game Week one, your chances that a
title are over with.
Speaker 9 (01:37:18):
Now that they're going to expand the playoff, I think
you can.
Speaker 8 (01:37:21):
It'll it'll allow for more creative regular season scheduling, and I.
Speaker 1 (01:37:25):
Think that's a good thing. I do our good stuff, Martin.
Let's talk to our guy Shay, who's in Arizona State.
Some devil Alum and shade. You know, back in nineteen
eighty seven, I saw Arizona State beating Michigan in.
Speaker 2 (01:37:36):
The Rose Bowl.
Speaker 1 (01:37:37):
That was a John Cooper coach team. And then that's
not forgetting the mid nineties lock An Orange with Jake
and Snake Plumber and almost beating Ohio State and what
could have been, you know, led to a national championship.
Speaker 2 (01:37:47):
It didn't.
Speaker 1 (01:37:48):
But you look at Arizona State schedule, Mississippi State, Texas Tech, Kansas, Cincinnati,
Oklahoma State, Kansas State, even BYU and Central Florida, a
kind of a provocative schedule, going to places they typically
don't go, like Stillwater, Oklahoma or Love but Texas. Can
you imagine not watching those games just because players are
(01:38:08):
getting paid.
Speaker 9 (01:38:09):
Not at all.
Speaker 11 (01:38:10):
To be honest, I'm gonna give you two takes, not
two takes, but two point of views. One as an
Arizona State fan and then one is just a college
sports fan Arizona State. I used to write for Arizona
State as well, and we've been going through a lot
of controversies and this is something that's just a welcome,
the breath of fresh air. It's almost a restart for
us you know what I mean, We've had so much
controversies or with our coach leaving and then or getting
(01:38:32):
fired basically, and then our QB leaves and then the
next year he ends up becoming the Heisman Trophy winner.
So it's like we've had a lot of things to
make us upset. So it's like the fact that we
get to watch it and just see new teams and
we're on the right path now, it really makes no
sense to me to be upset as an Arizona State fan.
(01:38:53):
I mean, we still get to see the Arizona State
versus the Wildcats, like it's still something that I'm very
excited for, or we still like, as Martin said, he
still has his Ohio rivalry going on. There's no reason
why people should be upset, and they're getting paid. I
get that, But it's just gonna give more personality to players.
It's going to give more reasons that we're going to
(01:39:13):
see them and enjoy them and like them. Like if anything,
a lot of these college players are going unknown because
they either don't have the means to go out and
be seen, or they don't have ads, they don't have money,
it doesn't matter.
Speaker 9 (01:39:24):
They're just they're part of the college.
Speaker 11 (01:39:26):
Now that they're individuals, I think it's going to add
in a completely different aspect to it because more people
are going to start liking the players and not just
the teams. And I'm really excited to see that because
people are going to be following these players into the NFL.
So I think that's gonna be something that's really cool,
especially because their personalities are going to be a lot
more seen just because of their uh there, they're they're
(01:39:48):
now getting.
Speaker 9 (01:39:49):
Paid visibility exactly exactly.
Speaker 1 (01:39:51):
So it's interesting because it's never really been to this degree.
Uh the money flowing into college football, in particular because
of all the lucrative TV deals is astronomical. It's never
truly been this way, So why hoard it? Why hoard it?
(01:40:11):
I think it's an idea whose time has come. Hopefully
they can manage it and they can put some guardrails
on it, and they can bring it more into line.
Speaker 2 (01:40:19):
It's supposed to this.
Speaker 1 (01:40:20):
Wild West nil pay for play thing was never meant
to be that way.
Speaker 2 (01:40:23):
It's supposed to be.
Speaker 1 (01:40:25):
Listen, you have a name, people know you, you sell tickets.
Let's allow you to take advantage of your name and
in your image and your likeness, and so therefore as
a brand, you can be duly compensated. But it turned
into pay for play. This is a different ballgame. Now,
this isn't necessarily nil. What this is is recompense. It's
(01:40:46):
a settlement going back eight years for players who lost
out on things like nil opportunities. And again the kitty
will be just under three billion dollars. It'll be as
much as twenty million per school, and they can distribute
it to their athletes the way they see it. Mark Ramsey,
you got the last word on this.
Speaker 2 (01:41:03):
Do you have any thoughts?
Speaker 3 (01:41:05):
Not really, I guess the only thing I guess it's
just like one sliver of a thought that maybe people
wouldn't like it. I know the view of it is
changing because now a player can make money because their
school is making money. But the idea of a twenty
year old or eighteen year old coming in to be
(01:41:26):
this player on a team for a particular school, the
newness of it that they were a kid and now
they're immediately thrust into being an employee versus a student
and the whole student athlete, that whole slicing that whole
thing up and now they get paid to be there
versus they're going to you know, play a sport and
(01:41:49):
learn something from a great college. So that's just the
only slight thing that I'm listening. But I'm glad that
the colleges that make so much money to TV or
whatever money that their team generates, they get paid.
Speaker 9 (01:42:05):
That's a good thing.
Speaker 3 (01:42:06):
But there's this slice, it really thin about what a
student athlete used to be versus now there's straight to
being an employee.
Speaker 1 (01:42:16):
Essentially, And I think there could be some law of
unattended consequences. There could be tax implications, there could be
some things, but I think it needs to again let's
play itself out. I want to take a long term,
big picture of you of this. There are a lot
of people around the college scene that are very bright,
(01:42:37):
very accomplished. They have very positive thoughts about this as
an idea whose time it's come. So let's see. Let's
see how it ferrets out. They've won the courts of
law fair and square, and that's how we work in
this country. Coming up. You know, I have been critical
of Justin Fields, but that doesn't mean I don't like
Justin Fields. I've thought he's been a class act during
(01:42:58):
his tenure in Chicago. I thought he's been a class
act while at Ohio State, as I have observed his demeanor.
Speaker 2 (01:43:06):
I like the way he carries himself.
Speaker 1 (01:43:10):
But now there are some weird reports that have come
out regarding that Fields didn't necessarily get along with one
of his former teammates, a former Super Bowl MVP, and
that Super Bowl MVP actually fired back.
Speaker 2 (01:43:25):
Let's talk about this a little bit.
Speaker 1 (01:43:27):
I find it a little bit surprising, but nonetheless it's
part it's out there in the ether. But first, let's
go back to a guy, the hardest working man in
rock and roll, Martin Weiss with the latest.
Speaker 8 (01:43:37):
The Boston Celtics lead the Eastern Conference Finals three games
to none after last night's coming from behind victory one
fourteen to one eleven. Jason Tatum had thirty six points
Andrew Nemhart thirty two points in the loss of The Pacers,
led by as much as eighteen, had two different points
throughout the game. Tyrese Halibert and missed Game three with
a sore hamstring. There's no word yet on his status
(01:43:58):
for Game four. NHL West Conference Finals, Dallas beat Edmonton
three to one. Mason Marchmant Brook a three to third
period one to one tie, Dallas eventually scoring an empty
netter to give the Stars a two goal margin. Series
tied at one game apiece. Aaron Judges over the four
straight games. The Yankees beat the Padres in San Diego
four to one. New York looks to sweep the three
(01:44:18):
game series later today for to ten Eastern for first pitch,
Dodgers have lost four straight a three to one loss.
Speaker 9 (01:44:24):
To the Reds yesterday.
Speaker 8 (01:44:25):
Walker Bueller gave up three runs and six hits over
five and two thirds innings pitched the Royals. They won
their eighth straight game, seven to four at the Rays
and eleven innings. The Indy five hundred is scheduled flated today,
but there are thunderstorms in the forecast in Indianapolis. Speaking
of Indianapolis, in the WNBA, the back to back defending
(01:44:45):
champ the Las Vegas Aces. They thumped the Indiana Fever
ninety nine to eighty fever on the second night of
a back to back for the Aces, though Asia Wilson
had twenty nine points fifteen rebounds, Kelsey Plump added twenty
points and seven assists. Caitlin Clark, rookie for Indiana had
eight points, seven assists, six turnovers. Indiana fever now one
and six. That one win coming on Friday against the
(01:45:09):
LA Sparks.
Speaker 9 (01:45:10):
Bernie back to.
Speaker 2 (01:45:11):
You, all right, thanks Martin.
Speaker 1 (01:45:13):
All right, So look, I have to be objective about this.
There were the facts of the facts and Justin Feel's
tenure in Chicago he was ten and twenty eight is
a starter, which ranked thirty fourth among all quarterbacks who
started games during that tenure. His QBR was forty six,
that ranked twenty eighth. He only averaged one hundred and
(01:45:34):
sixty seven passing yards a game that ranked thirty sixth.
His completion percentage was right at sixty percent that ranked
thirty fourth. His touchdown to interception ratio forty touchdowns thirty
interceptions ranked thirty first. He is default mechanism is to run.
He's not a pocket quarterback. If at this point something
(01:45:55):
dramatically changes, I think.
Speaker 2 (01:45:57):
It'll be a miracle. But I've always liked Justin Fields.
Speaker 1 (01:46:01):
I thought he came into camp with the Bears with
a good head on his shoulders. He responded well to
certain issues. He kept his demeanor, played through injuries, seemed
to go about his job, and a work with like
manner from what I could see, But I'm not connected
to the Bears at all. But now with Justin Fields
in Pittsburgh, what's the question people are asking you. It'll
(01:46:24):
be interesting to see if he gets along with Russell Wilson.
Now why are they asking that question? Because reports have
seeped out that he did not get along with another
Super Bowl winning quarterback that he used.
Speaker 2 (01:46:37):
To play with.
Speaker 1 (01:46:38):
Now, remember, let's go back three years in Chicago, his
rookie season in Chicago, the Bears had three quarterbacks on
the roster. With Justin Fields, Andy Dalton, and Or there
was a total of three quarterbacks on the roster Nick Foles,
(01:47:00):
of course Justin Fields right well. According to a gentleman
who writes for some publication called Golong, the relationship between
Justin Fields and the other two quarterbacks was quote toxic
as hell, with most of the animosity coming between Fields
and Foals. The report went on to say that the
(01:47:21):
relationship between Nick Foles and Justin Fields basically reached rock bottom. Apparently,
there was one particular day in the meeting room when
Nick Foles was trying to teach something, only to turn
around and realize Fields wasn't paying attention the fact he
was texting, and they admitted they too could not stand
each other. Now that that report came from an anonymous source,
(01:47:43):
but it also was somewhat confirmed by a gentleman named
Josh Lucas, who happens to be the Bariss former director
of player Personnel, and Lucas seemed to admit that Fields
really did not get along with.
Speaker 2 (01:47:54):
Foles and Dalton.
Speaker 1 (01:47:56):
I don't know, just saying, and the thought was the
Bear's thought was having two vets with him would really
help him because Andy and Nick well they at least
have a lot of starts under the bell. Right, one's
going to Super Bowl champion and Andy Dalton's doing for
over fifty thousand yards. But apparently there was no cohesion.
(01:48:16):
All right, get to twenty twenty one. Basically the Fields
has the job. I mean, look, the man got thirty
eight starts. Thirty eight starts, that's a lot. I don't
know what happened in terms of the relationship, and I
never will. But see here's here's where it takes a turn.
And by the way, even though they're not teammates anymore,
(01:48:38):
and this is where I think justin Fields his classic.
When he was asked about it, he spoke positively about
his relationship with Dalton.
Speaker 2 (01:48:44):
So maybe it just didn't.
Speaker 1 (01:48:44):
Get along with Foles, and Field's always said that, you know,
you know, maybe the bigger picture, there was some confusion,
but Dalton, he Field said, Dalton was always good to me.
His situation we were in it was I think, you know,
there was a lot of pressure there, but they were
always cordial. So let's fast forward. Justin Fields is expected
(01:49:07):
to be the backup in Pittsburgh, but he says he
is competing for the job, and I think the truth
will come out now, but I'm having a hard time believing.
I mean, look, you get around big time athletes get
tempers can flare, people have personalities. I don't know the story,
I'll never know the story, but Fields is getting a
(01:49:30):
second bite of the apple. I think with a good organization.
And I may be one of the few people out there,
but I'm sticking to my guns. I might be one
of the few people out there, but I honestly think
that Russell Wilson's gonna have success in Pittsburgh, and Pittsburgh's
gonna be back in the playoffs. And I think Mike
Tomlin will be an excellent source. I think a calming
(01:49:52):
sort of a stabilizing figure, as it were. And if
he goes, you know, Pittsburgh's going to be a run
heavy offense and you don't have He's Russell Wilson will
not be called upon to put a team on his
back like he maybe had to back in the day
at times.
Speaker 2 (01:50:06):
And he did.
Speaker 1 (01:50:07):
He got to sue Super Bowls. He could have easily
won the second one. You all know what happened with
Marshawn Lynch. So the question is what is justin feels
fit in if if Russell Wilson falters or of God forbid,
Russell Wilson gets hurt, Russell Wilson for not for nothing.
(01:50:30):
Based on salary cap hit is the third highest quarterback
paid quarterback of the National Football League fifty three million
dollars based on salary cap hit. Now Pittsburgh got it
for a song, right, we all know that. But he's
in fast company. Deshaun Watson. In case you're scoring at home,
hopefully they are maybe with a massage therapist. Deshaun Watson
(01:50:55):
sixty three point eight million salary cap hit. Dak Prescott
fifty five point one million capit used the highest paid
quarterbacks based on cappits Stafford Matt Stafford forty nine point
five million, Kyler Murray forty nine point one million, Daniel
Jones forty eight million, Patrick Maholmes down to thirty seven million,
Lamar Jackson thirty two million, Josh Allen thirty two million,
(01:51:17):
Joe Burrow twenty nine million. So where does this go?
Time will tell you.
Speaker 2 (01:51:24):
You just don't know.
Speaker 1 (01:51:26):
Coming up, another NFL player is kind of hot water.
This This threw me for a loop as well. This
is a dude who recently filed bankruptcy. It didn'tn't well.
Speaker 2 (01:51:39):
For him in the NFL, didn't known well for him
on the Raiders.
Speaker 1 (01:51:43):
Yeah, this poor guy, just a nice kid out of
Central Michigan who actually physically one of the greatest gifted
receivers in athletes in the NFL, never should have left
the Steelers. He's only thirty five, and if he just
kept his head screwed on straight, I think he could
still be playing in the You've probably figured out the
name by now, but I'll.
Speaker 2 (01:52:04):
Break the news here to you. Coming up.
Speaker 1 (01:52:07):
I'm Bernie Fraddlewick comedy lafe from Las Vegas. Fox Sports
Radio Tireck dot com studios. Keep it locked and listening
to the Bernie Fraddle Show on Fox Sports Radio. All
right back on the Bernie Fraddle Show, Fox Sports Radio,
Comedy Lifter Tarareck dot Com Studios here in Las Vegas.
Coming up twelve minutes top of the hour, the brand
a brand new dance sensation sweep in the Nation. What
kind of brand new fool of you? Followed by what
(01:52:27):
my name?
Speaker 6 (01:52:28):
All right?
Speaker 1 (01:52:28):
I want to bring in Martin Shay real quickly because
here's why you're starting to see reports leak out now
that there are respected NFL I wouldn't call them necessarily reporters,
but certainly and lists including Matt Hassell back former NFL
quarterback who thinks there's going to be some quarterback controversy
in Pittsburgh, that Russell Wilson have a short leash because
(01:52:50):
he has no real financial anchor with the Steelers, so
if it's not going well, they not only not have
to pay him, they could cut him. And from the
standpoint of justin fields fifty your option not being picked up,
he's playing for his next contract, so maybe he catches
lightning in a bottle.
Speaker 2 (01:53:03):
So start with you Martin.
Speaker 1 (01:53:05):
Who do you expect to win the job, And let's
say Russell Wilson wins the job, do you expect him
to keep it all year? Do you expect Justin Fields
to be in there at some point? What are your thoughts?
Speaker 8 (01:53:15):
I expect day one, week one, I expect Russell Wilson
to be the starter. But eventually I think that we
will see Justin Fields finished the year for the Pittsburgh Steelers.
As I mean, first of all, what we see some
sixty backup quarterbacks take.
Speaker 9 (01:53:30):
Snaps in the NFL.
Speaker 1 (01:53:32):
Last year, so yep, yep, injuries yep.
Speaker 8 (01:53:35):
So that'll primarily becomes of injury, so I think. But
I think once Justin Fields gets on the field, no
pun intended, if you could even consider that, I think
you'll see Justin Fields be just more dynamic as a
player than Russell Wilson.
Speaker 9 (01:53:48):
And I think you maybe with.
Speaker 8 (01:53:49):
Russ, I think there's a pretty low ceiling there and
where with Justin Fields, while necessarily hasn't shown and wins
and losses, this is athleticism and the youth and then
again money like Dustin Fields making three times what Russell
Wilson is making this this upcoming season, well, what you.
Speaker 1 (01:54:06):
Layout could happen. I don't know, it's entirely possible. Pittsburgh's
got themselves, you know, a somewhat enviable situation as long
as one of the two works out. But it's a
bit of an insurance policy, as it were. Well, you know,
what you layout could happen. And to your point, there
were north of sixty quarterbacks that took snaps last year,
(01:54:28):
partly because of injury. But what is Russell Wilson now
thirty six, thirty seven years old? Yeah, age, okay, fair
enough football, Bernie, Well you can, you might, you might
take some snaps for the Steelers this year.
Speaker 2 (01:54:41):
You know, don't say.
Speaker 1 (01:54:41):
Yourself short, Martin, Martin short short, but never will never mind,
forget that. Let's go with Shaye Morgan guard share your
thoughts in the matter.
Speaker 11 (01:54:50):
Yeah, honestly, I was pretty surprised because I thought Justin
Fields was going to be under someone with kind of
he wouldn't have any opportunity to play, He would be
a backup for.
Speaker 9 (01:54:58):
The whole year.
Speaker 11 (01:54:59):
So when I saw this news, I was kind of
almost excited for it, just because if you think about it,
Russell Wilson never had a backup quarterback that really threatened him.
Jared's did him. There was never really anyone that like
he was like, oh, like I'm gonna get benched, Like,
there's no way I'm gonna get benched for this guy,
you know what I mean. So I don't know if
necessarily Russell Wilson, because now that he has this, I
(01:55:21):
think we'll see kind of a different.
Speaker 9 (01:55:23):
Side of Russell Wilson.
Speaker 11 (01:55:24):
I don't think he'll be helping justin Fields as much
as he would have if he didn't like have this
opportunity where he would lose his position. But I'm excited
to see it. I really don't know what's gonna happen,
just because I think the relationship is going to be
so weird. And the biggest thing for Fields was having
that quarterback that was more experienced that could help him.
But in this scenario, I don't see Russell Wilson helping
(01:55:46):
him as much because he wants his spot, you know
what I mean. He wants to be the starter. So
I'm excited to see what happens here. And I don't know,
let's see what happens with Fields. To be honest, it
could be both of them.
Speaker 1 (01:55:57):
Well, they're both with a good culture, with a great
coach Mike Tomlin, and I think a playoff ready team
with an above average defense. So again, it's another one
of the many storylines we'll be watching this year, and
just about any scenario is on the table. I'm gonna
go on the record and say I think Russell Wilson's
going to have a decent year. I just feel like
(01:56:19):
he will. But look, there's no guarantee. We have to
see how it plays out. Another storyline that's taken a
weird turn. You may remember Antonio Brown. He was not
just a former receiver in the NFL. He was a
former Pro Bowl wide receiver. If he saw him, even
in his last year at Pittsburgh, absolutely electric. He sat
(01:56:41):
down with the roon and he's wanted to leave. He's
in dire straits financially, according to a filing in Federal
Bankruptcy Board.
Speaker 2 (01:56:48):
Federal bankrupt Reps Corp. Excuse me.
Speaker 1 (01:56:50):
According to the filing, which is a public record, Brown
claims to owe nearly three million to at least eight
creditors by saying he only has fifty thousand are less
in assets. Oh my goodness, now things have started to
pile up he's had a bunch of legal problems. It
all really took a big turn. In twenty twenty two,
(01:57:10):
he was ordered to pay one point two million dollars
in damages to a truck driver that he allegedly assaulted,
which is claimed as one of his debts and his
new filings. There's also multiple instances of creditors who say
they were not paid for services they performed for Brown,
and he has at least three judgments against him that
are north to six figures in civil cases. Again, I
(01:57:33):
said earlier, Antonio Brown, He's only thirty five years old,
you know. After that weirdness with the Raiders and his
feet freezing off and trying twenty different helmets and just
being a complete load in the shorts, he hasn't played
in the league in twenty twenty one and his career ended,
as you remember famously when he stormed off the field
(01:57:53):
in the middle of the game while playing for the
Tampa Bay Buccaneers, took a shirt off through it and stands.
Speaker 6 (01:58:00):
You know.
Speaker 1 (01:58:00):
Since then, there's been one legal issue after another, the
arrest over unpaid child support. He gets in these social
media beefs with people that are incredibly weird He even
purchased an arena football team, remember that, and of course
that didn't end out well either. Here's the kicker you're
sitting down. Antonio Brown earned roughly eighty million dollars in
(01:58:24):
the course of his career. He's got assets of fifty
thousand and debts a three million. I don't see that
to be funny.
Speaker 2 (01:58:31):
This is not funny. Coming up you.
Speaker 1 (01:58:33):
Want funny, we got what kind of brand new fool
of you? Followed by what my name? Keep it locked?
You listened to the Bernie Fraddle Show on Fox Sports Radio.
Well that's ritch you heard. The man Bernie Fraddle Show
keeps rolling right along. My name is Bernie Fraddle. We
are coming to you live from the tarat dot com studios.
Speaker 2 (01:58:53):
Here in Las Vegas. Tyrack dot com.
Speaker 1 (01:58:56):
We'll help you get there an unmatched selection fast free
ship being for your roadaster protection and over ten thousand
recommended installers direct dot com the way tire buying should be. Well,
we've come to that point in the week. You see, we,
as Yogi Berra once said, you can observe a lot
by watching, and we do that here our staff.
Speaker 2 (01:59:17):
We do that.
Speaker 1 (01:59:17):
See because around this great land of ours, well people
do things on a daily basis twenty four to seven,
three sixty five, and sometimes these things and it's not
just the United States, it's around the world. Sometimes these events,
well they're just innocuous and silly and stupid and using
bad judgment. Other times it can be far more serious,
(01:59:38):
and many times you can even involved breaking the law. However,
no matter how you characterize it, no matter how you
describe it, no matter how you lay it out, these
behaviors they always leave us scratching our head and asking ourselves,
what kind of brand new fool of you? So I'm
(02:00:01):
told that the TSA had its busiest day ever Friday ever,
clearing two point nine to five million passengers in one
day through various airports. And for my money, I think
the TSA does a really good job. I mean, you
consider the amount of people going through there and what
they have to do to keep things safe, you do
a good job. However, they are the subject matter in
(02:00:25):
tonight's what kind of brand new FOOLU? Ladies and gentlemen.
I'd like you to meet Tealina Collier of Winterhaven, Florida.
She is a TSA officer who works at Tampa International Airport. Well,
she got into trouble with the law recently, and I'll
tell you what she did. Apparently, Taleda has an issue
(02:00:46):
with with being on time, and recently she was late
to work and in doing so, apparently she'd already been
already on what they call the TA SAY Employee Improvement
Plan for excessive tardiness. But Collier called the TSA telecommunications
office and said she's going to be late to work
(02:01:07):
because a knife wielding man tried to burglarize her parents' vehicle.
According to deputies, well here's where the story falls to
the ground, as he used to say in Monty Python.
When her supervisor asked for a case number or a
business card from investigators, Collier said she was not given either.
She was then asked to get a burglary report from
(02:01:28):
a sheriff's office and give it to her supervisor. So
the sheriff's office said Collier texted her supervisor a document
that looked like a police report, but she was ordered
to send the actual copy instead of the picture. Kayer
never produced a copy because it didn't exist, and there
was an arrest report. Collier's supervisor told the police department
(02:01:50):
detectives that the image was cut off to the second
page and had no incident description. With detectives saw the image,
they said, quote, this is a fake report, which is
Sheriff's office complains. Matter of fact, Collier used the name
and number of a current Polk County deputy on the
fake report. But well, that's where the story falls to
the ground as well, because the deputy was out of
(02:02:12):
the vacation out of the country for a vacation on
the day of the fake burglary. Furthermore, Collier's parents said
they did not know what the hell she was talking about.
Their vehicle was not burglarized and there was no knife involved.
And when detectives asked Kylli Leer about the arm burglary,
Collierler said her employer contacted the Sheriff's office and she
didn't want to talk about the situation.
Speaker 2 (02:02:34):
So what happened.
Speaker 1 (02:02:36):
Deputies arrested Collier on the charges of criminal use of
a personal ID, uttering a false document. Sheriff Grady on
the case said, quote, you can't make this stuff up.
I don't understand why anybody would go to the extent
of creating a fake police report to avoid a reprimanded
work for tardiness. Collier has violated the trust of her
(02:02:56):
coworkers and the people she was post to keep safe. Yep,
you can't make this stuff up, folks.
Speaker 2 (02:03:05):
That's why we do. What kind of brand new fool you?
Speaker 1 (02:03:08):
After creating a fake police report and giving it to
her supervisor for being late for the empty time, it
leaves us asking the question to lead a Collier of
winter Haven, Florida, what kind of brand new fool of you,
Martin Wise?
Speaker 2 (02:03:23):
Looking forward to what you got to say?
Speaker 8 (02:03:25):
All right, Bernie, Lancaster, New Hampshire. Is the location here?
Richard Ruddy, the man thirty five years old. He goes
into a place called the Big Apple Store. Now it's
not related to New York or MacBooks. It's the Big
Apple Store, all right, it says, police says. The veils
video shows Ruddy talking to a cashier at the store
(02:03:46):
about ten pm Thursday, before he started throwing items and
pushing over the shelves. The police chief said, we're not
sure what calls we have the reaction he did, but
anything he could grab he was throwing. Police arrived five
minutes after the clerk pressed up panic button. Police said
Ruddy through a cardinal cigarettes at an officer. He was
arrested and charged with criminal mischief. Now as he as
(02:04:09):
Americans right and most of the time he was released
on bail, had one specific condition besides the money. He
could not return to the Big Apple store. However, Thursday night,
not only did he return to the store. The police
chief says they spotted him near the gas pumps, but
when they.
Speaker 9 (02:04:29):
Approached, he drove through the doors of the store in
his car.
Speaker 8 (02:04:34):
Unfortunately, it says it's the holiday weekend and this is
the only twenty four hour business in Lancaster in New Hampshire.
So Richard Ruddy was arrested again, held and ordered held
and under preventative detention. So as long as he's being held,
they could say he's no longer a dangerous society. Everyone
is saved from this individual as long as he is
(02:04:55):
being held, per the police chief.
Speaker 9 (02:04:56):
But he maybe being held, but he's still a bak
a new fool.
Speaker 1 (02:05:03):
Wow, that was a mouthful. All right, Martin, good job, buddy,
All right, Shae Mogan guard, you're a veteran at this game.
Speaker 2 (02:05:09):
What do you got force, bud.
Speaker 11 (02:05:10):
So we're not going to Florida this time, but we're
actually we're going close by to me to Azusa, California.
It's a city in Los Angeles County. It's about about
like forty five to an hour away from US.
Speaker 1 (02:05:23):
So.
Speaker 11 (02:05:23):
A man described by police as a serial slinkshot shooter
was arrested after an investigation revealed that he was terrorizing
his neighborhood for the last decade. According to a social
media post from the Zusa Police Department, officers with the
DEU Task Force learned of a quality of life issue
occurring in the nine hundred block of North Inide Avenue
(02:05:43):
on Friday. The DEU conducted a lengthy investigation and learned
that during the course of nine to ten years, dozens
of citizens were being victimized by a serial slinkstot shooter.
The department's Instagram post said the unknown suspect broke windows, windshields,
and almost struck people with little ball bait throughout those
ten years. Upon obtaining a search warrant for a home
(02:06:05):
in the neighborhood where incidents were taking place, authorities arrested
Prince King of Azusa. During the search, ball bearings and
a slingshot recovered from King's residence. Law enforcement said, King,
who is eighty one years old was charged with a
felony and is being held at Men's Central Jail on
no bail. All I want to say is, if you're
doing something for ten years, I feel like you should
(02:06:25):
have a better hiding place for your weapon of choice.
So this leads me to say, Prince King, what kind
of fool are you?
Speaker 1 (02:06:33):
Well, we get some doozies tonight, man, And so we
had winter Head in Florida, Lancaster, New Hampshire, I think,
and shade, where was your location.
Speaker 9 (02:06:42):
Again with Azusa Los Angeles?
Speaker 1 (02:06:43):
That's right, I.
Speaker 2 (02:06:44):
Gotta forget that.
Speaker 1 (02:06:45):
I know right where that is off the sixty free
with Yeah, and there used to be the old joke
about Azusa. They have everything from A to Z in
the USA.
Speaker 11 (02:06:52):
Remember that one I used to I used to always
pass it driving to Marongo Casino and Resort, and we
would always see that exact same thing.
Speaker 1 (02:07:01):
Yep, good stuff, guys, great job, great research show. Well done,
my man, both you guys, Martin and Nache. And that
will conclude another rousing addition, Oh of what kind of
brand new fool of you? That now allows us to
segue into and introduce our second favorite bit that we
lovingly referred to as what my name and here we go.
(02:07:26):
Recently it was intimated that perhaps Lebron could be the
next coach of the Lakers. We can't do that anymore
under the terms of the CBA.
Speaker 2 (02:07:34):
That's been a.
Speaker 1 (02:07:34):
Place for decades now having to do with salary cap issues.
But I was actually the last player coach in the NBA.

Speaker 9 (02:07:48):

Speaker 1 (02:07:50):

Speaker 1 (02:08:19):
Yeah, So back to the NBA. I'm the last player
coach in the NBA to Grace's sidelines while still being
on the active roster. Mark Ramsey, what my name?
Speaker 3 (02:08:30):
All I could think of is Magic Johnson, But I
don't show that's wrong.
Speaker 1 (02:08:34):
He actually was head coach of the Lakers in ninety four,
but he was done playing, maybe not ninety four around
that area after he retired. It's actually guys Boston Celtics
nineteen seventy and a guy by the name of Dave Collins,
remember that name, Big power forward Dave Collins was the
last player coach in the NBA. All right, let's flip
(02:08:55):
to hockey. We got the playoffs going out in the
history of the NHL, I have had more fights than
anybody in the history of the NHL, total of three
hundred and thirty three. Martin Weiss, what my name?
Speaker 8 (02:09:08):

was a fighter.
Speaker 9 (02:09:18):

Speaker 2 (02:09:19):
He was a fighter.
Speaker 1 (02:09:20):
Of course, he got the famous curve stick goal against
the Montreal Canadians in ninety three and that sent the
King's packing damn near all right, history of the NHL,
I've had more fights than anybody, total three hundred and
thirty three.
Speaker 2 (02:09:31):
Seam Ogngar.
Speaker 9 (02:09:32):
What my name, Andy Andreoff?
Speaker 12 (02:09:39):
I know he's an enforcer. I have no idea though
not him, but I appreciate the effort history of the NHL.
I've had more fights than anybody in history. Three hundred
and thirty three. Mark Ramsey, What my name?
Speaker 9 (02:09:51):
Phil Esposito, a great.
Speaker 1 (02:09:53):
Name from the past, actually tied Domey. His son's playing
in the NHL right now. And if you ever get
a minute, googles some of Tideman fights in the in
the hl's his his fists are like a couple of
pistons going back and forth in fast motion. All right,
let's go back to basketball. Well, I have the distinction.
I hold the New York Knicks franchise record for most
(02:10:15):
points in a playoff game. Martin Weies, what my name?
Speaker 8 (02:10:18):
That's got to be Bernard King, Albert King's younger brother.
Speaker 1 (02:10:23):
It may have been at one point, but it's not now. Okay, good,
good name though, God he was a prolific scorer.
Speaker 2 (02:10:30):
Man.
Speaker 1 (02:10:31):
I hold the New York Knicks record franchise record for
most points in a playoff game. Sham Mogngar, What my name?
Speaker 9 (02:10:37):
It's the current messiah of the Knicks. Jalen Brunson.
Speaker 1 (02:10:41):

in Major League baseball history.
Speaker 2 (02:10:55):
Mark Ramsey, What my name was it?
Speaker 9 (02:10:59):
Reggie Jackson?
Speaker 1 (02:11:00):
It's Ricky Jackson. Nicely done?
Speaker 2 (02:11:07):
All right?
Speaker 1 (02:11:07):
This want'll be a layup for Martin before Doc Rivers
took over. I actually led the Bucks to a thirty
to thirteen record as head coach before I was being fired.
Speaker 2 (02:11:18):
Martin Weiss.
Speaker 9 (02:11:18):
What my name that would be?
Speaker 1 (02:11:20):
Uh?
Speaker 8 (02:11:21):
I guess he would be considered a rookie head coach
even though he didn't finish it.
Speaker 9 (02:11:24):
That'd be Adrian Griffin.
Speaker 1 (02:11:26):
Adrian Griffin is correct? A mundo correct a mundol. Let's
go back to Jalen Brunson. He actually scored forty plus
points in three straight playoff games this past season, but
the last player to do that in the playoffs was
(02:11:47):
me back in nineteen eighty nine. Shaye Moganngar What my.
Speaker 9 (02:11:50):
Name you said? Nineteen eighty nine.
Speaker 1 (02:11:53):
Nineteen eighty nine?
Speaker 2 (02:11:54):
Correct?
Speaker 9 (02:11:54):
Okay, So.
Speaker 2 (02:12:02):
That's a tough all good, All good.
Speaker 1 (02:12:05):
Jalen Brunston may have scored forty plus points in three
straight playoff games this past season, but I'm the last
player to do that. That was me in nineteen eighty nine.
Mark Ramsey, what my name? Moe Cheeks, that's another great name.
Former Philadelphia seventy six are great.
Speaker 2 (02:12:24):
God, he was on some good teams too.
Speaker 1 (02:12:27):
Jalen Brunston may have scored forty plus points in three
consecutive playoff games this past season, but I'm the last
player to do that. That was me nineteen eighty nine.
Martin Weiss what my name?
Speaker 8 (02:12:36):
His name has been in the news recently as a
comparison to Anthony Edwards.
Speaker 9 (02:12:40):
Is it Michael Jordan?
Speaker 1 (02:12:41):
It is, in fact, Michael Jeffrey Jordan. Nicely done, Martin.
All right, now, this one, this one cracked me up.
And I think you guys will get it. If you don't,
you're gonna go, oh man, how could I not get
this one? I have the distinction of actually scoring sixty
two points in an NBA game without a single assist.
(02:13:02):
That is the most points ever scored in an NBA
game without a single assist. Shaim Ogener, what my name?
Speaker 9 (02:13:13):
Without a single assist.
Speaker 1 (02:13:15):
Without a single assist, sixty two points in a game.
Speaker 9 (02:13:17):
Kobe's last game.
Speaker 1 (02:13:20):
That was a great game in two thousand and six. Yeah,
it was not him, though. I actually scored sixty two
points in an NBA game without a single assist. That's
the most points ever scored in an NBA game without
a single assist. Mark Ramsey, what my name?
Speaker 3 (02:13:34):
Oh, let's go with Darryl Dawkins.
Speaker 1 (02:13:37):
Oh, Chocolate thunder Love, Love, Love Darryl Dawkins. Love Darryl Dawkins,
Not Darryl Dawkins. From the planet Lovetron all Right, I
once scored sixty two points in an NBA game didn't
have a single assist. That's the most points ever scored
in an NBA game without a single assist. Martin Whites,
What my name?
Speaker 8 (02:13:55):
This has been a New York nick heavy? What's my name?
That is a Carmelo Anthony.
Speaker 1 (02:14:01):
It is, in fact Carmelo Anthony.
Speaker 2 (02:14:09):
Alright, two more.
Speaker 1 (02:14:12):
I am currently, based on cap hit, the highest pid
quarterback in the National Football League. It's sixty three point
eight million based on cap hit. Shane Mogangar, what my name.
Speaker 9 (02:14:24):
On cap hit? Patrick Mallams, Right.
Speaker 1 (02:14:27):
No, Malmes is actually done around thirty seven million uh
Based on cap hit, I'm the highest paid quarterback in
the National Football League sixty three point eight million, Mark
Ramsey with my name? Uh?
Speaker 9 (02:14:40):
Is it the guy from the Bengals.
Speaker 1 (02:14:42):
You're thinking of Joe Burrow? Yeah, not Joe Burrow. He's
actually below I think he's like twenty twenty nine million
based on cap hit. All right, based on capit, I'm
the highest quarterback, highest paid quarterback in the National Football
League twenty twenty four sixty three point eight million based
on cap Martin Whites want my name?
Speaker 8 (02:15:01):
This has potential to be one of the worst trades
in NFL history.
Speaker 9 (02:15:05):
That is one Deshaun Watson who.
Speaker 8 (02:15:07):
Was not throwing an OTAs as he's recovered from a
shoulder injury.
Speaker 1 (02:15:10):
Outstanding, Martin, And yes, unless something happens pretty damn quick there,
this is gonna.
Speaker 2 (02:15:17):
Go down as Lou Brock for any brillio or worse.
Speaker 1 (02:15:20):
All right, last one, I'm sorry.
Speaker 2 (02:15:26):
I gotta gather myself before I do this.
Speaker 1 (02:15:27):
You guys are gonna fall on the floor. Okay. I
averaged four point eight points per game for my college
basketball team as a backup guard. We went eight and twelve.
Yet some people are actually betting on me to be
the number one pick. Use me, excuse me, Mark Gramsey,
(02:15:50):
what my name?
Speaker 9 (02:15:54):
I passed to the next smart person.
Speaker 1 (02:16:00):
So I averaged four point eight points game this season
for my eight and twelve college team. Is a backup
point guard. People are actually betting on me to be
the number one draft pick in the NBA. Once you
guys say it at the same time, Martin and Shaye
go ahead, three two one, Bronnie come, oh, nicely done, guys,
(02:16:20):
that one he oh even in two part harmony, couldn't.
Speaker 6 (02:16:27):
Look.
Speaker 1 (02:16:28):
Every time I've seen Bronni interviewed, I'm impressed.
Speaker 2 (02:16:32):
I like the dude. Man.
Speaker 1 (02:16:33):
He's classy, he's measured, he's polite, he's mature. I don't
know about this whole deal. Look, and if it happens, great,
Let a father's dream come true. Let it happen. I'm cool.
I like to see people get what they want in life,
as long as it's not breaking the law. Do you
guys have an opinion about this whole I don't want
(02:16:55):
to start with you, Martin, you have an opinion all
about this old Bronni lebron deal playing and playing in
the NBA together.
Speaker 8 (02:17:03):
Yeah, I don't think it'll happen. I think your point
about Bronnie being normal is a sight nothing short of
a miracle that Lebron James son, who has been famous
since the day he was born, is just, for all accounts,
a normal kid. And you see all the things coming
out of from the combine and all his draft preparations,
(02:17:26):
everything off the court seems like the perfect, picture perfect package.
But yeah, I don't see I just don't see it
in the way I see it.
Speaker 2 (02:17:35):
For other guys.
Speaker 1 (02:17:37):
It's interesting. Do you think it'll come to pass though?
I mean, I don't think it's really deserved, But do
you think it'll come to pass? Given given you know,
the the knockers that Lebron James has an elite.
Speaker 9 (02:17:49):
You know, I actually don't. I think that.
Speaker 1 (02:17:52):
I appreciate your refreshing opinion.
Speaker 9 (02:17:54):
Goal, Yeah, I actually don't. I think that.
Speaker 8 (02:17:57):
I think that when Bronnie was thirteen, it was a
it was kind of a pie in the sky thing
that was easier to for for Lebron senior to say.
But now I think the reports coming out are more
along the lines of make Brownie be his own man,
you know, and I would be you know, I would
say this though I am surprised to see him in
the draft, but you know, his dock may never be
(02:18:19):
higher than this moment, because if he goes back and
have another year and at USC and averages similar numbers
and similar you know, win loss record and so on
and so forth, you won't have the reasoning and rationale
of well, he just had a heart attack and he
was trying to adjust to a whole new lifestyle.
Speaker 9 (02:18:35):
So we'll see.
Speaker 8 (02:18:35):
But at six ' two, unless he hits a growth
spurt soon, I think it's gonna be tough.
Speaker 1 (02:18:42):
Yeah, I can't disagree with any of that. I you know,
Ken Griffith Jr. And Ken Griffyd Senior played, but they
were legit, man, Okay, And I just it's getting wacky
when you have people like.
Speaker 2 (02:18:58):
Who was it?
Speaker 1 (02:19:00):
Was it? Jason wdlocks Had Man, you're using your kid
as a prop to Saint right, and now they're calling
him a neple baby, And you know what, he is
a neple baby. I'm sorry because he's not. He won't
be playing in the NBA because it was merit. Anyway,
I agree though he's a good kid. I can hold
two thoughts concurrently, Shaye, what are your thoughts on the matter.
Speaker 11 (02:19:18):
Yeah, I mean I definitely don't think he would be
on a team, but I definitely don't think that he
can't not be on a team, because I mean ten
teams have supposedly sent invitations to him to work out.
And I saw something where the Suns he will be
working out with the Suns sooner than like rather than later.
I think it was it got reported on Friday that
(02:19:39):
he will meet with the Suns. So, I mean the
odds are if you look at the odds and Vegas
doesn't want to lose money ever, you know what I mean.
So the Los Angeles Lakers are plus one sixty right
now on DraftKings to get him. So I mean that's
those odds aren't horrible. If plus one sixty is not
something that like I would be like, oh I got
(02:20:00):
that's never gonna happen. So I just it's something that
it really it's we've never seen it because we've never
seen someone as influential as Lebron kind of do this
with someone that doesn't necessarily have the skill already. Obviously,
he's Lebron's son, so he has potential and so much
can happen, and then at Martin's point, like he can
go back to USC and just absolutely mess everything up.
Speaker 9 (02:20:22):
So if it was to happen. I think it's now, and.
Speaker 11 (02:20:26):
I think it's fifty to fifty to be honest, which
is so weird and I probably wouldn't have said that
last week, but I mean, just reading the story, seeing
ten teams sending him in invitations to work out, it
just I don't get it. I seriously don't get it.
Speaker 1 (02:20:41):
Yeah, we're gonna address this in future shows. I know
what's going on behind the scenes. He's not good enough
playing the NBA. That doesn't mean that won't happen, but
we're gonna we're gonna dive into this in future weeks
because the draft coming up. June twenty six, Hey, I
just got a text from my man, Raymond Chalonar. He's
my love and taxi driver that took me all around.
Great guy, Raymond, I just got your text. I know
(02:21:02):
you're listening in London. I believe it's about ten thirty
in the morning there right now. And I promised i'd
give him a shot out. He's gonna be my guy
anytime I go back there. Raymond Challonar, What a great,
great dude man. He was my cat. He took me
all around all right, coming up born the Bernie Frattle Show.
Keep it locked right here you listen to the Bernie
Fraddle Show on Fox Sports Radio. Were back on the
(02:21:24):
Bernie Fraddle Show, Fox Sports Radio. Comeany laugh from the
Tarak dot Com studios here in Las Vegas. Great job
by the crew on what kind of brand new fool
of you?
Speaker 2 (02:21:33):
And what my Name?
Speaker 1 (02:21:35):
Never a dull moment, especially the Brownie James answer in
unison three two one That might be a first on
what my Name?
Speaker 2 (02:21:45):
Coming up?
Speaker 1 (02:21:45):
Chris proffets World of Soccer. But first let's go back
to our guy, Martin Weiss with the latest.
Speaker 8 (02:21:51):
The Boston Celtics lead the Eastern Conference Finals three games
to none after last night's come from behind victory one
fourteen to one eleven. The Pacers led by as much
as eighteen at two different points throughout the game, Boston
walked them down in the fourth quarter. Jason Tatum helped
the cause with thirty six points as the leading score
in the game. Andrew Nemhar thirty two points in the loss.
Tyree Taliberd of course miss Game three with a sore hamstring.
(02:22:13):
No word yet on his status for Game four. NHL
Western Conference is now tied one game apiece as Dallas
beat Edmonton three to one. Mason Marchman broke the third
period one to one tie. Dallas eventually hit an empty
netter to give the Scars to give the Stars a
two goal lead. In the WNBA back to back defending
champs to Las Vegas Aces, they beat the Indy na
(02:22:34):
Fever ninety nine to eighty. Fever were on the second
night of a back to back. Asia Wilson for the
Aces twenty nine points, fifteen rebounds, Kelsey Plump twenty points,
seven assists. Caitlin Clark Fever rookie had eight points, seven assists,
six turnovers. Fever now one and six out of the
gate Aaron Judges Homerden's last four games. The Yankees beat
the Padres and San Diego four to one. They looked
(02:22:56):
to sweep the three game series later today. For to
ten Easter, Dodgers have lost four straight, the most recent
being yesterday three to one loss of the Reds.
Speaker 9 (02:23:04):
Walker Buehler gave up those three.
Speaker 8 (02:23:06):
Runs over six hits over five and two thirds innings pitched.
Royals have won their eighth straight game, seven to four
at the Rays and eleven innings. Yesterday, the Indy five
hundred scheduled for later today, but there are thunderstorms in
the forecast, so we'll see if the race actually gets
to run. Bernie, Now it's time, go ahead, kick it
the world of soccer, all right, So.
Speaker 1 (02:23:29):
I'm looking forward to Chris' future this week. Harry Kane,
the all time league scorer for the England national team.
I missed him, meeting him by five minutes. He's on
his way to Manchester. You I man you or one
of the two. But here's the deal. Having stood on
the field of Tottenham and I've always been a soccer fan,
(02:23:49):
and I covered ninety four World Cup in Detroit which
came through there. But listen, whether it's in season, out
of season, off the fielder on the field, there's always
stuff to report. That's why we do bring you this
week Chris Pffett's World of Soccer.
Speaker 13 (02:24:02):
The greatest goals, the thrilling finishes, the international drum, It's
all here in this report from the World of.
Speaker 1 (02:24:21):
Soccer, Bernie.
Speaker 14 (02:24:23):
Across Europe, across the world of soccer, domestic leagues are
going final. We have final after last weekends thrilling action
in multiple leagues, some already sewn up, some not so much.
Let's well, we're gonna go to England in a second,
because that's where the big story was. It came down
to the final week of Premier League and we were
(02:24:44):
talking about it here on Fox Sports Radio all morning
last Sunday as everything collided. There's still a weekend to
go in La Liga, but Real Madrid obviously champions, having
pulled ahead so far ahead from everyone else in the pack,
the Kings of football looked to be nigh unbeaten a
twelve point margin before even going into the final weekend
(02:25:07):
over Barcelona, who is in second place. But really the
hats are off. The toast is being raised across Europe
to Bayer Leverkusen, a team in the German Bundesliga, who
have completed the impossible, not only winning Bundesliga and breaking
up the monotony of Bayern Munich and maybe Barusia Dortmund
(02:25:27):
claiming that league's title, but having an unbeaten season ninety points,
thirty four games played, twenty eight wins, six draws, no losses.
It is for the history books Leverkusen, coming out of
seemingly a lot of years of just growth development, really
(02:25:48):
pounding on the door, having better and better showings.
Speaker 1 (02:25:52):
They were six last year.
Speaker 14 (02:25:54):
Year prior they had made it third behind Dortmund and Munich,
and now here they are a top of the world,
well at least the top of Germany. That unbeaten record
was being carried through the season in European play as well,
until finally they hit the Europa League Final this past
week against the Italian side Adelanta, and they were defeated
(02:26:17):
three nil, a very bittersweet moment to go out on,
but holding up the Bundesliga trophy still a fantastic story
for them. Adelanta of course winning Europa and the Italian League,
going very convincingly to Internazionale Milan, who had a massive
nineteen point lead over AC Milan as the season concluded here.
Speaker 1 (02:26:39):
But again, the real action this season was in England.
Speaker 14 (02:26:43):
It was in the Premier League and it was a
battle between Arsenal and Manchester City down to the final day.
We were tracking all of it here on the world
of soccer. It was thrilling and yet in the back
of my mind, in the back of my mind, I
just sat there thinking.
Speaker 1 (02:26:58):
And knowing as much much as Arsenal kept the.
Speaker 14 (02:27:01):
Lead, especially after Liverpool started to fade away, I thought
something's going to happen. Something's going to happen, and a
no fault of their own, no fault of Arsenal's own.
They had been winning six of their last Premier League matches,
including their last one over Everton, a two to one
(02:27:21):
victory that kept them afloat. But the point is is
that Manchester City, because of some scheduling, had a game
in hand, and that game was played they were able
to make up ground and this led us the last
Sunday's action where we had Manchester City and Arsenal playing
at the same time. Arsenal all they needed was to
do was to win and for City to either draw
(02:27:44):
or lose. Because City had also played fantastically well, built
up an early enough lead early on the year before
a lot of their troubles came back. They too had
been winning about five six seven straight and they faced
west Ham United. Our Arsenal was taking on Everton. Arsenal
two to one over Everton Great and every time it
(02:28:08):
looked close, west Ham United coundnot do any favors to
the gunners. Manchester City three to one, and once again
City is on top, maybe not quite as dominant year's past,
but This now makes four straight titles for Manchester City
in the Premier League, which is a bit of a
bit of a bummer, a little bit. The greatness of
(02:28:30):
Manchester City cannot be understated, but at a certain point
you kind of hope that in the Premier League they're
not used to having teams like in say Germany and
France and Spain just simply dominating and winning title after title,
year after year after year. Four straight years of Manchester
(02:28:51):
City and to be clear, they've been winning quite a few.
You can go back the last ten twelve years or
so and it's only broken up here and there by
Chelsea or the amazing Lester City season or the one
year that Liverpool wanted during the COVID Like this is.
This is a run of dominance that I think is
really being understated. But English soccer has always sold itself
(02:29:13):
as that more clubs have a chance at that title.
It's a fantastic run and you know Saturday will come
and come and go and we'll see if they win
a FA Cup on top of it over Manchester United.
But this is a club that is facing a lot
of financial fair play regulation penalties that that might come
(02:29:33):
down at some point against them. This is a club
that has just roundly outspent everyone, picked up some of
the best players in the world over and over and
over again. And I do wonder if English soccer's allure
is starting to fade a little bit because Manchester City
is just roundly defeating everyone. It was very much so
(02:29:54):
fate for the Arsenal. This is a club that has
always had a lot of bad luck on their side,
and to go into the final, go into the final
week knowing that the fate wasn't even in your hands,
it must sting tremendously. But the seasons are done. We
stare down now the off season here, but we have
a few finals to say. Come next week on Saturday,
(02:30:17):
three pm Eastern time, the Champions League Final the Kings
of Spain of Real Madrid against a very scrappy and
very plucky German Borussia Dortmund team, held in Wembley Stadium. Yes, Bernie,
you were just there Wembley Stadium. It is going to
be a thrill for the ages. I think a lot
(02:30:39):
of the spirits out there are around Borussia Dortmund, but
it's hard to argue against all of the talent, all
the splendor and all over the.
Speaker 1 (02:30:46):
Ability of Real Madrid.
Speaker 14 (02:30:48):
We'll give you a preview here coming up on the
World of soccer and to recap one way or another,
and you'll have it all here on the World of Soccer.
Speaker 1 (02:30:58):
Yeah, I wish just stare at Wembley Stadium. And I
gotta tell you I look for things to really heat
up in soccer news in the coming months. Chryst will
bring it to you and let's not forget. And I
was also in Paris this past week and the twenty
twenty four Olympic Games are going to be in Paris.
I saw a lot of the areas fenced off and
some of the stadiums will be playing. So look for
(02:31:19):
more and updated highlights in Chris Braffett's World of Soccer.
Speaking of highlights, we have information just around the corner.
Tom Brady will be making his NFL broadcasting debut for Fox.
And you know it was always gonna draw curiosity seekers
(02:31:41):
no matter when the game was played and who was playing.
But man, I think Fox pulled a real coup here
I will explain. I'm Bernie Fradder. We're coming to your
life from the Las Vegas Fox Sports Radio Tireck dot
Com studios. Keep it locked right here. You're listening to
the Bernie Frattle Show on Fox Sports Radio. We're wrapping
it up on the Bernie Frattle Show. Before I go
(02:32:05):
any further, I wanted to thank my broadcast team back
in Los Angeles. They've been with me since eleven pm
Pacific time on Saturday night. That would be Mark Ramsey,
our technical producer, turning all the dials, keeping us glued together.
Martin Weiss, hardest working man in rock and roll, does
the show. Then Don's the update. Hat of course participated
(02:32:30):
Brand New Fool, What My Name? And Shave Mogangard. I
got Shave Moganguard. He'll get the podcast up a little bit.
Great job tonight, guys. Is always great interaction on some
of the subject matter we discussed, and good good stuff
and good research on the what kind of Brand New Fool?
And What my Name? Always a lot of fun. Mark
(02:32:51):
this on your calendar. One hundred and five days from now, Sunday,
September eighth, at four to twenty five Eastern time one
twenty five Pacific time, the Dallas Cowboys will visit the
Cleveland Browns. That is the first weekend of NFL football.
Why am I bringing this up. It will mark the
(02:33:12):
debut of one mister Tom Brady is Fox regular season debut. Now,
it was always gonna be. They could have played the
thing at two thirty in the morning on Mars between
the Hoboken Zephyrs and the New York Giants of the
Little Little Giants of you know football movie.
Speaker 2 (02:33:30):
You better not.
Speaker 1 (02:33:31):
Say nothing bad about my mama. And then we're still
gonna watch. We want to see what how Brady does
you just do? There's curiosity seekers, there's fans or you know. Look,
I was at WTK an arbor cut in my teeth
when Brady was there. Man, all right, so look we're
gonna be watching. And here's what's interesting and the reason
(02:33:51):
I brought up that time for twenty five Eastern Opening Day,
and there's only one other game gonna be played at
the kicks off at for twenty five that's the Commanders
and Buccaneers, and that will only be seen by ten
percent of the country. Now, there are a couple of
other one o'clock games Pacific of four o'clock Raiders, Chargers, Broncos, Ehawks,
but I expect Cowboys Browns to dominate the airwaves that
(02:34:15):
day and get the ratings for the simple reason it's
Tom Brady. Now it gets better for those of you
who may or may not know, and some of you,
some of you might the four pm Eastern time window
for the National Football League in their games. It is
the most coveted time slot in all of NFL content, period,
(02:34:40):
more than the one o'clock game Eastern, the one twenty
five game Eastern, the four o'clock game Eastern, the Monday
night football. You know, it's the most coveted time slot
in all of NFL content. And CBS recently had a
press conference or a press release a couple of weeks
for the Super Bowl that said the NFL on CBS
national game at that time slot, had they had ten,
(02:35:03):
CBS had ten of those Sunday afternoon windows. This past season.
They averaged just under twenty five million viewers per game.
That's more than any other sport or any other network,
or any other entertainment offering on any network period for
the year, twenty five million viewers. That's why that four
(02:35:24):
to twenty five slot is so coveted. Well, the executives
at Fox Sports have taken notice, and this is something
that had kind of stuck in their crow for months,
because really, for more than a decade, Fox owned that
top spot in the regular season in their viewership for
the four to twenty five PM Eastern time window. In fact,
(02:35:45):
in twenty twenty three, Fox averaged twenty four point six
million viewers in the afternoon time slot. That's how tight
it was. CBS beat them out by roughly five hundred
thousand viewers, not maybe not even that when they competed,
but it was very type. They had fifty thousand viewers.
So Fox said, Okay, not up in here. We're gonna
(02:36:08):
plan for the twenty twenty four NFL season with a
definitive goal. We want that top spot back. So apparently
they coordinated with their partners at d NFL to load
up the early season with games that can draw huge audiences.
Like I said, Dallas Cleveland, tell me that's not gonna
be a huge game. Think about what Martin said, All
lives are gonna be on de Shaan Watson this year.
I think I think time is just about up with him,
(02:36:29):
and eyes are gonna be on Dallas. And then in
Week three you've got the Lions and Cowboys in a rematch.
I checked that week three, you got the Ravens and Cowboys.
Then week six you got the Lions and Cowboys in
a rematch. In week seven, talk about a delicious matchup
the Kansas City Chiefs and Samprus go forty nine ers.
Those are just four of some of the games Fox
(02:36:51):
is gonna have. But the beauty of it is the
first one on September eighth and four to twenty five
East in between Dallas and Cleveland. And Cleveland your Tom
Brady's regular season debut I got. I'm gonna guess they're
gonna blow out. They're gonna beat that twenty five million
dollars at twenty five million dollars excuse me, the twenty
(02:37:11):
five main viewership number for that day. And uh, you
cannot not look at this schedule and not you know,
get excited. And we're gonna we're gonna be talking a
lot more about it in the coming weeks because we're
now through atas June first is next Saturday. Before you
(02:37:31):
know it, we're gouna be in July. Teams would be
in camp and schedule is gonna matter. And there's a
lot of significant, uh situations regarding the NFL schedule, which
I'm going to get to including how they're gonna feature
the Kansas City Chiefs this year, but that is a
story for a different day. That's gonna do it for
the Bernie Frattle Show. Appreciate all you joining me. I'll
be back on these airwaves next Friday night, eleven ft
(02:37:53):
in Pacific. In the meantime, keep it locked. The biggest
thing to come out of Cincinnati since the Big Red Machine,
the Great Andy Furman. Fox Sports Video
