Speaker 4 (01:37):
For their in like the Pacific Northwest Coast. I guess
that's what you call. I don't know. I say, yeah,
I don't know what it is, but it's it's the
it's the new it's the new normal. And the new
normal for the Lakers is you got a year or two?
Who the new normal for the Lakers? You got a

(01:58):
year or two? Hey, you got a year or two.

Speaker 3 (02:03):
You don't get it done, We're gonna find another co Lakers. Yeah. Well, okay, okay.
Let me ask you this question. Earlier this week when
I was on Fox and we would Dean, we were
asked the question, what is the possibility that Brownnie James

(02:25):
just may join the Lakers? How does that make you feel?
Do you think it's a good idea and do you
think it will ineviently be happening.

Speaker 4 (02:38):
I think the percentages are I would say forty percent.
The Lakers have the seventeenth pick because the Pelicans will
take the Lakers first round pick next season, not this season.
Smart because next year's draft it's supposed to be better
than this year's draft. I'll say this, The Lakers had
a seventeenth pick and the fifty fifth pick. I believe

(03:01):
Brianni will go before the fifty fifth pick. I believe
Briani will go somewhere between thirty five and fifty.

Speaker 2 (03:06):
So you believe that he will be drafted.

Speaker 3 (03:09):
Yeah, somebody's gonna draft Bronnie because of the.

Speaker 2 (03:13):
Hope of Lebron's last year. Maybe he comes to that team.

Speaker 3 (03:17):
This okay, So you think that Bronnie James is going
to get drafted.

Speaker 2 (03:22):
So what is the reason.

Speaker 3 (03:24):
Why is the reason that Bronnie James is only working
out for two teams, which is the Phoenix Sons.

Speaker 2 (03:30):
And the Los Angeles Lakers.

Speaker 3 (03:32):
Out of those, out of everybody that you just said,
somebody's going to draft them, then why is he only
opting in choosing to work out for those two teams?

Speaker 4 (03:41):
I believe it's the relationships. If you look at the
Phoenix Sons.

Speaker 3 (03:46):
James Jones is the general manager there, He's running the
show there.

Speaker 5 (03:50):
He has a relasion. James Jones was just fired. No no, no,
no, no no for the Phoenix Sons. He when was this?
I believe a few weeks ago. I believe he was.

Speaker 3 (04:07):
I may be wrong, no, no wrong. I know he's
the he's the GM okay okay for the Phoenix Suns.

Speaker 2 (04:14):
And so the.

Speaker 4 (04:15):
Relationship that he has with Lebron I believe is a
big reason in him working out for the Suns and
obviously the Lakers.

Speaker 2 (04:24):
That self explanatory.

Speaker 4 (04:25):
And so I say, if the Lakers want a draft,
they're gonna have to acquire another second round pick, probably
late thirties in the forties, just to make sure they
get him.

Speaker 2 (04:38):
But is that a good thing? This is plex.

Speaker 4 (04:40):
I don't know how Lebron Is would his son when
it comes to the athletic part of it, meaning, are
you gonna let him be his own man? Are you
gonna micro managing and over coaching because we as parents,
we as.

Speaker 2 (04:55):
Parents, we want our kids.

Speaker 4 (05:00):
To do so well right that it bothers you when
they don't succeed. Like, I don't know about you when
my kids and my son specifically now my daughters are done.
When my son, when I want him to play so
well that when he doesn't play well, it feels like
I didn't play well.

Speaker 2 (05:18):
It bothers you that ah, because you know.

Speaker 4 (05:21):
They want it so bad and they put a lot
of time and effort in it. And so I don't
know how Lebron is. I'm assuming he's like any other father.
He wants his son to do extremely well. Now can
you harness that and understand he's a grown man now
though you cannot?

Speaker 2 (05:38):
And so if he can't do that, I don't know
how it works.

Speaker 3 (05:43):
I believe it's too much emotion involved. It will be
way too emotional for Lebron to be on a basketball
court or to be on the bench and not see
his son have success and succeed. Just like you said,
does he Microman is this situation? Does you walk get
off the bench and put his arm around on what

(06:04):
you would expect or father to do? But how does
how do you think that would translate to the teams
from a success standpoint? When he is really only focused
on Brannie because he's came out of heads on he
can't just every media podcast or show. He said that

(06:28):
he wants to play with his son or he wants
to be in Anya with the son. Money and winning
is no longer what will be important to him, because
that's how much we've gotten conflicting reports.

Speaker 4 (06:42):
He wants to play with a son. It's not a
big deal if he plays with a son, Like which
one is it?

Speaker 2 (06:48):
I don't know. I just I really don't know.

Speaker 3 (06:52):
I just think it's a bad idea for them to
coexist and to play on this same team. I was
just believe us, especially from a fan point of view,
what you know, the heckling and everything that he's going
to receive, you know, being on a bench or whatever.
The cakes will be why his dad is on the

(07:13):
on the court is. I just think it's gonna be
it's gonna be a lot mentally for both of them
to be able to you know, uh, you know, to
to harness and to be at their best when it's
going to be so much criticism of him of why
he's in the NBA and how he got to the NBA.

(07:35):
That's gonna be how regardless and how he Ronnie James
is coming into the NBA and he has this uh
privilege of you know what, I'm not working out for anybody.
That's the world we live in in the Lake of
and the Phoenix Suns. That's the world we live in.

Speaker 2 (07:56):
Will be perceived well.

Speaker 4 (07:58):
And we live in a world of haves and have nots.
Lebron James and his family they're part of the halves.
And when you are in that situation, you you kind
of get to pick and choose what you want to do.

Speaker 2 (08:07):
This is the world we live in.

Speaker 4 (08:09):
Furthermore, when when you let's go back to the Lakers,
who's gonna be our head coach? JJ Reddick, James Reds
who gonna be the head coach?

Speaker 3 (08:19):
JJ Redicks? Who want to be the coach? And from
what I hear, uh Rajon Rondo is going to join
the staff also, so we're.

Speaker 4 (08:27):
Gonna have a coaching staff of former players basically all
recently retired former who keep.

Speaker 3 (08:34):
Telling everybody what to do, how he likes it and
what what what needs to be done, just.

Speaker 4 (08:39):
Like he's doing right now. See, I think that I
think that perception is wrong. Come on, man, him and
Roth the politic is spending a lot of time together.
Now you you you really think Lebron would literally be like,
this is what we're going core come on man, like
No like of course you even you came out and

(09:01):
said when Darrenham was fired it was because of what
Lebron James said in an interview.

Speaker 2 (09:08):
No. Yes, and I wholeheartedly believe that. But what I'm
saying is.

Speaker 3 (09:14):
So, do you not think that Rob Polinka and Genie
Bust are not having conversations with Lebron James of who
they're going to hire. Yes, What what I'm saying is
as what he approves of and what he does, not.

Speaker 2 (09:30):
This.

Speaker 4 (09:31):
This is what I'm saying. As a player, plex you
were one of the best players on your team, as
was I right.

Speaker 2 (09:38):
We have to.

Speaker 4 (09:40):
Empower our coaches because we know if a coach says
or he does anything that we don't like, we can
say whatever and deal with the consequence that may come
from it. Because when you're one of the better players,
a coach will go at you, but he really not
gonna go at you. And so in that and how's

(10:00):
that relevant to because and Genie Bust, No, you said
having conversations with Lebron, they're having conversations now.

Speaker 2 (10:10):
Who you approves of, who's gonna be the coach of
the time.

Speaker 4 (10:12):
I don't mind the conversations. They should. He's the best
player on the team, him and ad. You have to
consult with your players. What I'm saying is for you
to say, he's gonna tell Reddick and.

Speaker 2 (10:23):
Whoever is a coach.

Speaker 4 (10:25):
No, I don't believe he'll He'll give him just like
every other player that's a good player. I'll give you
my opinion on what I believe we should do. It's
up to you to ultimately decide what we should do.
I'm gonna give you my opinion. It's no different than
is it any different than a quarterback sitting with his
offensive coordinator saying, Hey, I like these players, I like

(10:48):
this concept. I want to put this in a game.
Is there any difference? What's the difference?

Speaker 3 (10:54):
You know what I'm gonna say that I don't think
that Lebron James has had given the coach coaches from
his career the full amount of respect as being a
head coach, except Eric expos And the perception is because

(11:17):
these head coaches have been fired or they they can't
maintain their job, It's like, Oh, Lebron doesn't respect them.
Oh Lebron is getting the fired I'm sure he plays
a part in it. All I'm saying, is this what
you mean?

Speaker 2 (11:31):
Are you sure he plays a part in it? Yeah?

Speaker 4 (11:33):
Because if your best players don't like the coach, what
is it? Is it easier to get rid of the
best player with a guaranteed contract.

Speaker 2 (11:39):
Or the coach?

Speaker 3 (11:42):
James, you know better than that. Ain't nobody who? Ain't
nobody getting rid of Lebron?

Speaker 2 (11:47):
Exactly? So who you're gonna get rid of the coach?

Speaker 4 (11:50):
And so at some point in time Lebron James thought
Darwnham was a good fit to be the Lakers coach.
The more time you get around somebody, the more time
you get around them to see how they handle pressure,
how they handle certain situations, you start to realize like, oh, no,
he or he or she isn't what I thought they were.

(12:11):
This isn't gonna work. And that happens. This is the
business of being a professional athlete and a professional coach.
But to say, oh, Lebron is going to run everything,
I don't think that's fair. That that's not fair to
Lebron and it's not fair to the head coach that
will be named here. Shortly that everybody is perceived at.

Speaker 2 (12:33):
And Lebron on this podcast. Yeah, but it has to
be it has to be a respect.

Speaker 3 (12:40):
They have a great relationship from what I see and
what I understand, How is that relationship when it's pressure
and why with Jeannie Bust and Rob Pulica even consider
JJ Reddick to be an NBA head coach with zero

(13:00):
experience the way that the same way, the same way
they considered uh, Steve Nash, the same way they considered
Steve Kerr. Yeah, wait a minute from but I know
Steve Kerr came from the front office and v oh no, no,
we're not talking credentials as a player.

Speaker 4 (13:18):
We're just talking former players. We're talking former players. And
so Steve, Steve Kerr had I mean, Steve Kerr was
in the front office. He was he he had worked
as a GM of the Suns, and so he a
little different. It was a little different.

Speaker 2 (13:35):
But I'm saying former players.

Speaker 3 (13:40):
And stepping on to the hardwood has to be the
head coach of the Los Angeles. Hey, you know when
you you know, when you.

Speaker 4 (13:49):
Talk basketball on television or football for that matter, I
mean because John Lynch did it, Matt Millan did it.
Not the coaching, but into the front office and when
results Matt Millan, I was so good. John Lynch fantastic. Now, yeah,
they've been to the Super Bowl two out or last,

(14:10):
but you look at the Niners. You look at the
Niners before John Lynch and what John Lynch unbelievable. All
I'm saying is, yeah, Lebron's gonna have his say so.
All star players had her say so to say he's
going to run the show. I think that's unfair. That's unfair.
He has a lot of say so. But when the
pressure is on is where the JJ Reddick if he

(14:32):
is named the head coach and Lebron's relationship will be
put to the test. That's where you know, do I
respect you? Do I respect your your basketball?

Speaker 2 (14:43):
Accurate?

Speaker 3 (14:43):
Who's gonna be the head coach of a lot of
names like it's right now because they're in Western Conference
and there's easily four or five better teams that are
contenders in the Western next year?

Speaker 2 (14:53):
Are BA champion next year?

Speaker 3 (14:57):
Before you even higher ahead, coach, you can say that
the Los Angeles Lakers will not beat the Minnesota Timberwolves,
the Denver Nuggets, or the Dallas Mavericks in the series
of seven games.

Speaker 2 (15:12):
You can say that right now. So it doesn't matter
who you hires the next year. Next year, you gotta
get it.

Speaker 3 (15:17):
You gotta be a basketball team is what you gotta
acquire next year, Rob Polink. If you want to be
able to compete for world championship, so you.

Speaker 2 (15:25):
Hire whoever you want.

Speaker 3 (15:27):
Because in the Western Conference, the Lakers, they are a
non discussion when it talks about competing for NBA championship.

Speaker 2 (15:35):
Bro Man, y'all make sure y'all have this next season.

Speaker 4 (15:38):
I want all y'all write it down, take them out,
whatever you gotta.

Speaker 3 (15:45):
Like. The Lakers are in no position right now currently.
I don't care if you have Larry Brown. I don't
give the damn who you get.

Speaker 4 (15:57):
Nobody's in the position but the Celtics and the Mavericks
if you want to. If you want a West take
off here, no in the in the NBA, you know,
we gotta take a break. I'm mad we can't continue
this conversation. But what we will go on is some
guys that should be present but they aren't or maybe
they shouldn't. We'll talk about that. Uh when we come back.

before I went to break, I was reading earlier how Michaeh.
Parsons is not participating in the Cowboys OTAs once a
new deal, doesn't have a new deal. But I think

(17:57):
the bigger I don't know if it's a question, I
don't know how we would phrase this. Lamar Jackson isn't
at the Baltimore Ravens. He's not participating, no tase. He
went to the first OTA and then he wasn't present
for the next two or three and he's missed all
the OTA's. What do you make of the quarterback not

(18:21):
being there for OTA? You just signed you a new deal,
you're not prep like and the crate you have a
seven hundred and fifty thousand dollars workout boat's that you're
foregoing when you're the starting quarterback and you have your deal,
what do you make of him not being present?

Speaker 2 (18:38):
Man? That that right there, that is that's unbelievable.

Speaker 3 (18:45):
I was just having this conversation earlier this week, where
you know, I have so much respect for my quarterbacks
that when OTA's came around, either when it was voluntary
or with man invatory, I was there, but the voluntary
I would pick up the phone and I would call

(19:07):
Ben Roethlisberger and I would call Eli Manning and ask them, hey, man,
are you going to training? Are you going to Ota?
They'd be like yeah. I'd like, do you want me there?
They said, you don't have to go, but I will.
I will want you to show up, So.

Speaker 2 (19:23):
I will show up.

Speaker 3 (19:25):
Because they're a franchise quarterback of the team and this
is how you eat. So now, if you're John Harball,
you just gave this man what this two hundred fifty
million dollars over whatever the case may be, he is
sending the wrong message to this football team of being
a franchise quarterback of this organization. You just lost the

(19:47):
AMC championship team to the to the uh, you know,
to the Kansas City Chiefs who just won the Super Bowl,
first AFC championship game ever in the Baltimore Ravens history.
At you lose that football game. The other two previous
Super Bowls that they were won were on the road
as being wild cards. And you're the franchise quarterback of

(20:09):
this football team and you are not there too pilot
this team and this offense and you're the mar Jackson
and you're the reigning MVP of this league. I just
think this is a bad message to the team if
you're you know, a wide receiver of Shop Bateman or

(20:33):
you know guys for defense, Zay Flowers who you know. Obviously,
he fumbled this ball in the started the fourth quarter,
They're down seventeen to seven. He think he thinks he's
gonna touchdown. The balls goes out of the end zone.
It's a touchback. But you're a Lamar Jackson, You're the
starting quarterback of this team. I mean, what are they

(20:56):
doing offensively?

Speaker 2 (20:57):
Now? You know what's crazy.

Speaker 4 (20:58):
It's like when you're the franchise quarterback and how do you.

Speaker 2 (21:02):
The practice with your starting quarterback?

Speaker 4 (21:05):
You conducted just with the backup. But it's like, we've
never seen a starting quarterback. I haven't that has received
his second contract and not show up.

Speaker 2 (21:17):
That's like, when's the last time we've seen this? I
don't think ever.

Speaker 3 (21:23):
I mean you Michael Parsons not showing up and Ceedee
Lamb not showing up. Now that's a different story because
they are skilled players and obviously Ceede Lamb is going
through what he's going through hed league and catches last
year and y'ards double did touchdown. We know Michael Parson.
Michael Parsons, we know who he is. He's arguably one
of the best defenders in the world. But your starting quarterback,

(21:46):
every quarterback in the league is at OTA's.

Speaker 2 (21:52):
Everyone, What are you doing offensively?

Speaker 3 (21:55):
If you're John Harboy your team, Martin who is a
quarterback coach? What you how are you getting better offensively
without your starting quarterback?

Speaker 2 (22:06):
Yeah? For for me, it's everything you said. When you're
the starting quarterback, you gotta be there.

Speaker 3 (22:16):
I don't even for a while receiver standpoint, I don't
even want to be there. Hey, it's almost as if
why have a ot A if your quarterback isn't there,
If your quarterback isn't going to be present. As a coach,
you should just counsel ota. Because offensively, you're not getting

(22:38):
better offensively because a guy that's taking the snaps won't
be taking the snaps when it matters, So you're not
getting better offensively, And then.

Speaker 2 (22:46):
Defensive ain't getting better either.

Speaker 4 (22:49):
The wide receivers aren't running and doing things the way
they should do them because they know he ain't gonna
be the quarterback.

Speaker 2 (22:58):
And I will leave OTAs if I was starting wide receiver.

Speaker 4 (23:01):
It was like, what's the point that you can only
reason some guys are there is for the workout bonus
if you are, But how are you getting better as
an offense when you're starting quarterback?

Speaker 2 (23:16):
Like and I love Lamar Jackson. Man, I think he is.

Speaker 3 (23:21):
You know he is on the rise of being you
know he has the potential to be to win multiple
MVPs in this league. Dude, even if how good of
a player that he is, even if you be there
for OTAs, you're getting better work somewhere else. You even
if even if you believe that's the case. Right, the

(23:41):
OTA's practices bro them things are an hour and a half. Man,
you can go to OTA's and then do whatever you
think is better than what you're doing after OTAs are over.

Speaker 2 (23:54):
Man, I think you can do it.

Speaker 3 (23:56):
Ot A in twelve years of playing in this business.
Because I had bone spurs removed from my left ankle.
I believe ye have my left ankle in two thousand
and six. If my quarterback was there, I was at
I was there. Hey, So so there you gone. What

(24:18):
that would never happen though? That's what separates the great
ones from the good ones is you know they had
a building. Ben rothletisbrother is in the building. Eli Man
is in the building. You best believe Tom Brady's in
the building. Peyton Man, He's in the building. You're starting
quarterback for only thirty two teams in the world and

(24:41):
you are the only quarterback in the world which I
can remember. I don't know how long that doesn't show
over Ota. So if Lamar doesn't start this season off
the way we expect him to, if the Ravens don't
start the season off the way we back.

Speaker 2 (25:00):
Oh Man first season is Thursday nighty in Kansas City?
Will will this be brought up? Should it be brought up?
The first game of the season.

Speaker 3 (25:11):
It's in Kansas City on a Thursday night when they
raised a Battering Hoister trophy from last year's game where
they went to Baltimore and beat them into the AMC
Championship and they won the Super Bowl.

Speaker 2 (25:25):
That's where they go first, Kansas City.

Speaker 3 (25:29):
And you ain't you not motivated enough to try to
get back to the AMC Championship, not at OTAs that
ain't said the right message to me for And you
know it's crazy, man, Like I know these dudes are
making a ton of money.

Speaker 2 (25:44):
But I'm not letting seven hundred and fifty thousand dollars
just go.

Speaker 3 (25:47):
You got his workout bonus is seven hundred I'm not
letting that money go.

Speaker 2 (25:52):
Man. You you can never get that back. Like, I'm
not letting that go. Seven hundred thousand, seven.

Speaker 4 (25:58):
Thousand, bruh to workout an hour and a half two
hours a day and they're gonna give you seven hundred grand,
Like what what?

Speaker 2 (26:06):
I think?

Speaker 3 (26:06):
I had a workout bonus in my contract as a
rookie for the first two three years after that, I
didn't have any workout bonuses in my contract because you know,
you get to a point to where you know, you
you develop you know, relationship with your coaches and you

(26:28):
know the strength coach and nutrition that you're going to
come into camp at a certain weight, you're always going
to be in shape. So I didn't have any workout
bonuses in my contract because they trusted me enough that
when I came to OTA's or mini camp that I
was all ready in shape, ready to roll. So I

(26:49):
never had a workout bonus in my contract. Yeah, my
rookie year.

Speaker 4 (26:54):
And so yeah, we're both we We agreed completely with
the Lamar Jackson thing. I don't know what's going on there.
Unless you have.

Speaker 3 (27:01):
A family emergency, you got to be there.

Speaker 2 (27:06):
It's a musk. You cannot jack Man. You're the MVP
of the league. I mean you're the MVP of the league.
You're the leader of that team. These are like, this
is your second year in offense. This is where you
start working on little things in the offense and just
try this on this play. This is where you work

(27:26):
on that at.

Speaker 3 (27:27):
You have a new running back on your team, and
there Henry, you are supposed to be excited that this
man is going to help you elevate your game. And
you know, you know what howse you do flex, you
know what else you do so we all know, we
all everybody's trying to get an advantage.

Speaker 2 (27:45):
You're stealing signals.

Speaker 3 (27:46):
This is where you be like, hey, so if I
give you this, you know how last year when I
gave you this, it was so now I want to
just do this. So now this this is what I
want you to run. When I give you this, we're
gonna run this. This is where you start working on
changing signals and adding signals so that when people have
watched your film and think they know what's coming. Now,

(28:06):
we done worked on this in Ota, so now we
got two or three signals for the same route. Now, man, listen,
I've said this about Lamar Jackson. I think that he
is probably the best football player in the National Football
League and it has He has showcased it by winning

(28:30):
two MVPs in the last four or five years, which
is not many players I have done that. But in
order for him to take the next step I believe
for him and to be a better quarterback and to
get to a world championship, he has to become a
better and more accurate passor than what he is right now.

(28:53):
I think that is one of the main things that
is hindering him from being that elite of elite like
Patrick Mahomes elite of being the next great quarterback, is
that his accuracy is what is hindering him from being.
But Lamar need to get it back and the Baltimore

(29:17):
he does, and we gotta go and see how accurate
Isaac long Crime gonna be with what you.

Speaker 2 (29:24):
Got for us.

Speaker 6 (29:25):
Fortunately, I do have an accuracy bonus clause in my contract.

Speaker 2 (29:32):
Really, what is it entail?

Speaker 6 (29:35):
Yeah, it entails being accurate all the time. Actually, people,
a few people know this, But many years ago I
also had a pronunciation clause in my contract. But then
in the two thousand and eight campaign, I was faced
with pronouncing TJ's name, and there went the bonus. Thanks

(30:00):
a lot of TJ.

Speaker 2 (30:02):
There we go, There we go.

Speaker 6 (30:03):
Since learned my lesson. Meanwhile, you want to talk about bonuses,
you want to talk contracts, We'll talk about Sacramento King's
head coach Mike Brown, because multiple outlets reported overnight that
Brown has agreed to a new contract extension to the
twenty twenty six to twenty seven season, worth eight point
five million dollars a year in the WNBA. Right now,

(30:26):
it's the first ever meeting at the pro level between
star rookies Caitlyn Clark and Angel Reese, and right now,
Clark's Indiana Fever, which is just one and eight on
the season, by the way, have a fifty seven to
fifty four lead over the Chicago Sky with eight point
one left to play in the fourth quarter. Caitlyn Clark
nine points, five rebounds, five assists. Angel Reas with seven

(30:50):
points and seven rebounds, six of the rebounds on the
offensive end, coming up tonight at eight pm Eastern Game
six of the NHL's East In Conference Finals from Florida,
with the Panthers leading the New York Rangers three games
to two. Fellas, that's what's trending back to you, guys.

Speaker 3 (31:10):
Man, I'm actually watching the game. What game with Angel
Reese and uh Tay.

Speaker 2 (31:19):
Yeah, she's supposed to name to the Chicago the Shy.

Speaker 3 (31:23):
Barbie, shy Town Barbie and shy Town Barbie.

Speaker 2 (31:26):
She got the guys on pink Plex.

Speaker 4 (31:30):
Have you have you seen the story of h or
the headline story same thing of Gable Stevenson. Yeah, the
rest of the wrestler that the inside.

Speaker 3 (31:43):
Of Buffalo Bills. What what are your thoughts on the
guys are real grappler man? You know, put him at
the nosegard position.

Speaker 2 (31:52):
He will be somewhat undersized.

Speaker 4 (31:54):
He'll probably obviously you know him being a gold medal wrestler,
he's gonna play with levery pad level will be low.

Speaker 3 (32:02):
You can imagine that this guy would have great hands
and technique. Oh you already know now he'll be somewhat undersize.
He's six to one.

Speaker 4 (32:09):
You know, when you wrestle, I think you cap out
at two eighty five to heavyweight division. That's the most
you can I think he would weigh in two sixty
five two seventy ishes put on twenty pounds.

Speaker 3 (32:19):
He can probably play two ninety two ninety five, but
he'll still be somewhat undersize.

Speaker 2 (32:25):
Ed Oliver, what do you Aaron Donald, ed Oliver.

Speaker 4 (32:28):
And Donald what what do you think of I don't
believe he's played football outside of high school. What do
you think of his chances of competing and at least
trying to get on the practice squad? You know, he
spent some time in a WWE as a professional wrestler
as well.

Speaker 2 (32:46):
What do you think of the bill.

Speaker 3 (32:47):
Signing him and his chances of making a roster at
least a practice squad. Well, obviously they've seen something in
this young man that you know, everybody has overlooked. And
for the NFL to recognize as you as a wrestler
and to give you opportunity to play at this level, man,
I think it's great. Man thinks phenomenally that you know,

(33:07):
scouting has now you know, looked at other avenues other
than you know, football. I mean we've heard the stories
of the Antonio Gates and UH and UH Jimmy Graham,
those guys playing basketball in college. But I think this
is the first time. Maybe not the first time, but

(33:28):
in me in recent memory. Uh, you know, giving this
guy opportunity, you would think that he would have great leverage,
great technique, uh, be stronger the point of attack, great hands,
being able to share blockers and getting and getting getting
off blocks and making plays. But I'm curious, man, I
want to see the guy play, you know. I mean

(33:49):
we've had some instances of like I played with Kelly
Gregg and Baltimore, but he was a long time de
tackle with the Ravens.

Speaker 2 (33:58):
He he he didn't win to go mellow, but he was.

Speaker 4 (34:01):
A great college college rushing. Kelly Greg wasn't big at all. Bro,
you remember Kelly Greg.

Speaker 2 (34:06):
I have a great story about Kelly Greg. Kelly Greg
wasn't big, but boy, that dude was so good.

Speaker 3 (34:13):
We were playing the Baltimore Ravens in heines Field and
I think, you know, resting pieces of my guy goose
Man Tony Share. Goose was a good friend of mine
here in New Jersey passed away. But Goose had went
down and got hurt and it was a TV time
out and I never forget this. We were standing on

(34:34):
the field and he ran on the football field and
me and haines Ward started laughing. Right his pants pulled
all the way up underneath his shoulder pad and we
bust out laughing, and Hines said, Man, who the hell

(34:54):
is this?

Speaker 2 (34:55):
Look at this guy? So I started laughing. He started laughing. Man.

Speaker 3 (34:59):
About four later we came back to the huddle and damn, man,
we can't even.

Speaker 2 (35:05):
Bought this dude.

Speaker 3 (35:08):
Killing us and he did wear his pants up. Jus, Man,
we couldn't keep this dude out of the backfield and
save all life. Man, And they went on to win
the game. Man, and we and me I skicked to
the sideline. It was like, Man, we don't know who
this kid is with his pants pulled way up, but

(35:31):
he is killing us to do And I actually think
that would be a good guy for gable to watch.
And actually I'd reach out to him if I was
gable to see if I can get some pointed. How
how was that transition being a high level wrestler, Because
if you think Kelly Greg wasn't tall, he wasn't big,

(35:53):
but he played with great leverage, had great hands and
forced a great career out of that, and so that
would that could be somebody that if anybody's listening and
knows in it, can kind of put those together.

Speaker 2 (36:06):
Kelly greg was good man. Kelly Gregor plays, he could play,
but hey, he was an that was his thing though.
He was known.

Speaker 3 (36:13):
Hey, them pants gonna be all the way up under
them shoulder paths. And he played for a long time
man twelve thirteen years.

Speaker 2 (36:20):
Man.

Speaker 3 (36:21):
He was dominant at all times in his career. Man,
he really was.

Speaker 4 (36:27):
Yeah, it was so hopefully for the Bills and for
Gable everything works out.

Speaker 2 (36:33):
We gotta take a break.

Speaker 4 (36:34):
We'll be right back up on Game Fox Sports Radio.
That's Plexico Barras, I'm TJ.

Speaker 2 (36:40):
Housch. Maizada will be right back.

Speaker 4 (36:41):
Welcome back in up on Game Live from a Tireck
dot Com studio.

Speaker 2 (36:45):
I'm TJ.

Speaker 4 (36:46):
Huschmazada alongside mister Plexico Burris. And before we wrap up
the show will have a little plaques that you hear
the news the fight you were really looking for to watch,
and Jake Paul and Mike Tyson has been postponed. Mssus
Tyson was on a flight you know, has had some

(37:07):
difficulties and found out it was. It was an ulcer,
so doctors advised him, you gotta take a few weeks
off from training, so that July twentieth fight has been postponed.

Speaker 2 (37:16):
How disappointed are yet?

Speaker 3 (37:17):
I just saw the other day that Mike Tyson had
a medical emergency on a flight. Man, I was praying
that he was okay. But uh, I'm not really disappointed
at all because it's not really something that I really
wanted to really watch because I believe it's a joke.

Speaker 2 (37:36):
I believe it's a sham.

Speaker 3 (37:37):
I mean, we all know that if it was a
real boxing match that Mike Tyson was absolutely destroyed Jake Paul.

Speaker 4 (37:44):
Even at Tyson's age, You you think he would destroy
Jake Paul, I really do.

Speaker 3 (37:52):
Come on, Man, if Mike Tyson hit Jake Paul with
one of those upper cuts or left hooks that we
see him training with, he will absolutely put Jake Paul
on the canvas in the first round. Man, But we
know it's not gonna be a real boxing event. Even
though Mike Tyson is fifty some years old, if he

(38:14):
hit Jake Paul in a real boxing match, he will
really hurt this kid.

Speaker 2 (38:20):
Man. But what about Jake Paul hit Mike Tyson at
his age, I don't think he's really gonna be able
to hit him. I think I think Mike Tyson gonna
be just fine. He's gonna be able to defend this
of me. This guy.

Speaker 3 (38:32):
Come on, even when she's the five or whatever the case,
he's still a professional.

Speaker 2 (38:37):
We're talking about Mike Tyson here now.

Speaker 4 (38:39):
If he really hit this kid, he can throw punches,
but are you going to be able to take them
at his age?

Speaker 2 (38:46):
It ain't the fact that we know.

Speaker 3 (38:48):
I don't believe that Jake Paul is going to go
into this match and be laying and flush jabs and
upper cuts and hook on the Mike Tyson. I just
really don't believe that he will, you know, going to
the ring and dominate and hit Mike Tyson to the
point to where he's gonna knock him out.

Speaker 2 (39:06):
I just don't think that's the case. But on the
flip side of it, if.

Speaker 3 (39:11):
Mike Tyson really hit this kid, come on, man, come on, man,
it won't even be no discussion, man fifty five or whatever.

Speaker 2 (39:19):
If you've been watching Mike tyn to training the way.

Speaker 3 (39:21):
He be hitting his bag, Man, if he hit Jake
Paul with one of them.

Speaker 2 (39:25):
Man, that may gonna crumble.

Speaker 4 (39:28):
But see, I agree with a lot, not all. I
agree with a lot of what you're saying a lot.
But Mike Tyson, it is fifty seven years old.

Speaker 2 (39:38):
Man. I understand he's fifty seven.

Speaker 4 (39:42):
So when you fifty seven taking a punch from somebody
that's thirty one years that's that's a huge jaction. As
matter of fact, Tyson is about the term fifty eight
this month.

Speaker 3 (39:56):
He ain't your regular fifty eight year He ain't no
fifty eight year old civilian. That's for damn. We talking
about Mike Tyson. He ain't no fifty eight year old
regular civilian walk in the street. You just ain't gonna
run up on Mike Tyson and just do what you
want to to him, like Jake Paul.

Speaker 2 (40:18):
I get it.

Speaker 3 (40:18):
I understand the whole he's making money and he got
his little Prime drink out and all of that. But
come on, man, were talking about him stuffing into a
ring with Mike Tyson in a real boxing match, even
at fifty turning fifty eight, I still don't think he
beats Mike Tyson.

Speaker 2 (40:37):
Nah.

Speaker 3 (40:38):
I don't agree with the fight. I it can be
dangerous for Mike at his at his advanced age. Yeah,
he can throw a punch, can't he take it? Hopefully
Mike Tyson heels up from this with that ulcer that
he had, he'll.

Speaker 2 (40:51):
Be ready to go. I don't know if I'll tune
in and that.

Speaker 4 (40:53):
I don't know if I want to see that, but
we appreciate you guys tuning in up on game Fox Sports. Ready, y'all,
stay locked in for Damned Buyer Mark Medena. Don't go anywhere.
They're gonna have a great show for you.
